Restaurant
The Oyster & Fish House is a trendy seafood restaurant with stunning views over the harbor. Located above Lyme Regis famous Cobb, it offers panoramic views across the Jurassic Coast. Run by renowned chef Mark Hix, who prioritizes local and seasonal ingredients, the restaurant focuses on simple yet high-class dishes.
If you are a seafood lover, and love a foodie experience that you won’t get anywhere else, and you want to spoil yourself, then this is the place to be! Even if you’re not staying in Lyme Regis, it really is worth a drive to dine here. Having grown up on the coast, I’ve eaten a lot of seafood, and thought I’d had most versions of it, however, my mind was genuinely blown away by the beautifully delicious, but novel twists on food I thought I knew!! Cockle popcorn, scrumpy fried oyster with scotch bonnet mayonnaise, 6 oysters with ponzu to die for, and a whole grilled mackerel with gremolata! I shall never forget these dishes! Desert was also amazing, with the finest pastry I’ve ever tasted. Front of house legend, Phoebe, was as much part of the experience, and her knowledge of all of the dishes was as impressive as her manner, and efficiency. It was an all-round wonderful experience that we’ll do again as soon as we can!!

Great views. Attentive staff. Good food. Fair to expensive on pricing. My 3rd visit over the years. Place and decor is now looking tired. Very sticky tables. Easily resolved with some linen table cloths. Smoke from kitchen irritated my partner's eyes. Unlikely to return.

We held our wedding reception at the Oyster and Fish House on 27/04/24 and we cannot thank everyone in the team enough for helping to make our wedding day so special. The service from the moment we booked was great, Jo and Nic were very responsive to any of our questions and helped to plan and prep our day by meeting with us several times beforehand to ensure everything was planned the way we had imagined. In addition we had a meeting with Mark Hix where he helped to design a bespoke menu. Thank you so much Mark, the menu was incredible! On the wedding morning the staff were incredibly helpful and set the tables and decorations up for us. Everything was laid out perfectly on arrival and all the guests were greeted warmly with champagne and gorgeous canapes. The staff were fantastic and brilliant hosts, chatting with all our guests and ensuring everyone's glasses were topped up as needed. We also want to thank the chefs, the food was exceptional, plentiful and beautifully presented. We could not finish it all despite our best efforts! It really was a day to remember, and our wedding felt unique and special to us. We had 38 guests in total, the size of the restaurant was perfect for providing an intimate setting. The beautiful view of the coast and Cobb is also a bonus. Before our wedding we had eaten at the Oyster and Fish House several times, and on each occasion the food and service were faultless, we will definitely be back. We would like to say thank you again to everyone at the Oyster and Fish House! Hannah and Ben

A fantastic meal. The seafood was extremely fresh and everything was made with great care and attention to detail. It’s the first time we’ve had cockles popcorn and it was delicious - especially with vinegar drizzled on top. The mussels were divine and the prawn burger was very filling and packed with prawn. The scrumpy (fried oyster) was very well made - considering how wet oysters can get, it was impressive that they came out so crispy. The team was attentive and the place has a lovely view. Very glad we found this place during our visit and managed to book a table.

Absolutely lovely evening with a fantastic view over Lyme Regis and the port. The food, although we only went for starter and oysters, was absolutely delicious and fresh as they come. The staff were, attentive, friendly and just amazing. Yes, as a few others have commented it is a pricier than usual restaurant but it’s worth it for a special evening.

The setting and building is absolutely gorgeous, but the servers and food make this spot a must. Freya was accommodating to our large party with 2 toddlers and made us feel like we were eating at a friends home. Her welcoming spirit and overall passion for the menu made for the best experience. I was so satisfied with the miso fruto , hake, monkfish pie and the soda bread is to die for . Will definitely be back!
Lynsi W — Google review
Great staff, food was great. Reason for only 3 stars is that they gave us not the nicest table in the house as there were a couple of larger tables which made a lot of noise and we sat right next to it. So no option anymore to dine in peace or talk to each other. They should consider this better in the future or let guests know in advance. We managed to get a table outside, but also there was a larger table. Put in middle of 3x tables with couples. Maybe logistically organise this better so all have a good time.

A fantastic seafood restaurant perched on the hillside overlooking the Cob in Lyme Regis. We had a wonderful meal soaking in the relaxed atmosphere, while watching holiday makers enjoying the last of the sun down on the beach. Amazingly fresh crab, so large my dining partner had to help me finish it. I would recommend the popcorn cockles and the two different types of oysters, both delicious, and distinctly different. The service was excellent, and the staff very knowledgeable about the dishes on offer. Our waitress did a wonderful job persuading us to try both types of oysters, a decision we did not regret. We finished the evening with a walk down to the harbour, to find a pub for a drink before heading home. People were still on the beach at 9pm as the weather was so hot. A word of caution if you're not staying in Lyme Regis. There are only a few taxis available in the town, having arrived by bus from our base, we were looking at a long walk home along unlit country lanes. Luckily one the chefs at the Cob arms heard our predicament and as he lived in the village were we were based kindly offered us a lift home when his girlfriend picked him up at the end of his shift. An immense stroke of luck to end a fantastic evening out. Highly recommended and we are planning to try the London branch at some point.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled on the Jurassic Coast, Crab House Café is a charming seafood restaurant in Weymouth. The rustic seaside hut offers a laid-back atmosphere and upscale fresh seafood dishes at reasonable prices. Overlooking the Portland Coast and Chesil Beach, it specializes in serving fresh local crab on large wooden boards with all the necessary accessories. Additionally, it boasts its own oyster beds just in front of the cafe, ensuring that diners enjoy the freshest seafood experience possible.
Had dinner here yesterday and it was incredible! The food, the service and the atmosphere were all top notch! The staff were all lovely and really accommodating, and couldn't do enough to make sure we had a memorable meal. The food was so so good - I had the half crab with no idea of how to crack it, but the waiting team helped me out with some tips, and I got there in the end! Would definitely recommend!

Honestly, 3rd year in a row we have been here and it never disappoints. Once again we were lucky enough to get the table for 2 next to the pass, so we saw everyone else’s dishes as well as our own. Crab and sardine starters were superb, my wife’s stuffed sole was great, my lobster came in a bowl of the most delicious liquid I have ever tasted. It’s great to find a seafood restaurant that just does seafood, and there are always multiple things that temp on a changing menu. You will need to book ahead (we took a guess when we would be sailing in to Portland and adjusted our trip to make sure we could be here). If you love seafood you will love this place. And every single person we interacted with here were professional, enthusiastic and friendly.

My wife and stepsons took me out for my birthday dinner. Fantastic food, great service and absolutely perfect ambience. Lovely rustic chic and brilliant food. The only disappointment was my wife's bellini. Tasted great but presentation was a bit off. Food still gets 5 stars because it was absolutely phenomenal. We came all the way from Southampton just off this meal and we were not let down at all.

Been coming here for over 20 years, since it was Abbotsbury Oysters, love the food, the oysters, the atmosphere and great service too. Friendly atmosphere, I recommend booking to guarantee a table. Plenty of seating areas to chose from and some are also dog friendly. The menu is full of choice which makes decisions difficult!

Never disappoints! Hits the spot every time! Outstanding choice, value, food, location, service and atmosphere. Food is incredible. This is a very very special place. You can feel it as soon as you walk in. There is no other restaurant like it. My absolute favourite in the whole of the UK.

This place is amazing, the atmosphere the staff the restaurant deco & the food is fantastic. Recommend to book & go, if walk in then no chance of getting a table. Good quality sea food is served here. All we ate was delicious & really very good. We ate oysters, Lobster & the spicy Japanese Crab

We went for lunch unplanned at the last minute and were totally blown away by how perfect and fresh every single dish was. The staff are all genuinely lovely people as well. A very rare 10 out of 10 dining experience. My wife and both spoke about how delicious the food was all the way home and would highly recommend this restaurant. We had the spicy crab, soul fish, scallops with wild garlic butter and some delicious oysters. Followed by a trio of desserts. Every dish was fantastic! All the other dishes coming from the kitchen looked equally as delicious.

Seafood restaurant
The Jetty Restaurant, situated in Christchurch, England, offers a fine dining experience with a focus on using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant boasts a light-filled space with stunning views of Mudeford Quay, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests to enjoy.
Lovely restaurant, this was a nice surprise! Beautiful location with stunning views. Staff were amazing and so friendly, really attentive. The food was fantastic. The bread to start was fresh and the butter was super tasty. We opted for the 2 course set lunch menu. I had the mackerel and salad to start and the sea bream with pasta for mains. The food was excellent! The sea bream dish in particular was a stand out, I could have eaten two of those! I would come back for that sea bream dish.
Bav M — Google review
We enjoyed our dinner at The Jetty. Service was friendly and attentive, and the dishes we had were tasty, perfectly cooked and nicely presented. That said, while the food was nice, it felt like something was missing - a bit of oomph or a wow factor to really elevate the experience. It’s hard to pinpoint, but we were hoping for a little more, especially after reading so many glowing reviews. The atmosphere was quite loud, which made it harder to fully relax and enjoy the evening. It was a Saturday night, so perhaps the noise level was just down to timing, but it did detract from the overall experience for us. All in all, it was a pleasant meal with good service and plenty of choice, but it didn’t quite live up to the high expectations we had going in.
Maxim S — Google review
A party event to celebrate wedding anniversary, food ordered prior to the day, lovely location and service attentive and keen to give a great service . Food was good but looking for great 😀 soufflé Starter really great , steak was good but veg delivered to late - so wasn’t as warm as it should be , sweet was routine so could be better .
Mark — Google review
We went for lunch on a Tuesday in June. The weather was beautiful and so was our meal. This is a stylish restaurant in a great position with fantastic views looking out over Mudeford bay. We had been before on trips to the area and the food and service has always been great and this time was no exception. The menus (3) have something for everyone and the food is carefully prepared in their semi-open kitchen. Service is friendly, attentive and professional at all times. There is a good selection of wines, both by the glass and the bottle. Pricing is not cheap, but for the quality of food, it's not expensive. If you enjoy really good food (particularly seafood) in super surroundings, then do give this a try. But do book!
Paul B — Google review
For us this is a special occasion place. So Friday night we booked for our wedding anniversary and my birthday it was a beautiful evening with views across Christchurch Harbour, the food and service lived up to its usual high standards.
Rae ( — Google review
Food as it should be is how I describe this restaurant. A simply wonderful dining experience and well worth the visit. It’s not the cheapest place around but well worth the price. We will be back. Today I had the cheese soufflé followed by a fillet steak. I know who goes to a fish restaurant and orders a steak. Well tonight I did and have no regrets.
Paul C — Google review
Everything about it is great and it might just be my taste buds as I'm getting older but the food seemed a bit bland and it's very expensive. Id love to know who's bright idea it was to put trees in front of the sea view windows as well but maybe there's a good reason for it apart from spoiling the view. Service was 1st class and they do make you feel special and welcome but I feel too poor to be comfortable eating there really 😔
John C — Google review
Absolutely splendid from start to finish. Service was brilliant - shout out to Tani, who made us feel welcome and to the waitress that arranged to have the menu items adapted to our halal sensibilities. The food itself came out like works of art and they were scrumptious - I didn't expect any less. I wanted to have desert but was stuffed after the mains and starters. The skate from the fish platter wasn't to my taste - but this was on me as it is as it is. The delightful visit was finished off with a thoughtful and lovely complimentary happy birthday dessert taster. Definitely would visit again. Highly recommended.

Rick Stein, Sandbanks is a chic seafood restaurant located in a prime spot along the luxurious Sandbanks beach. The interior design is minimalist and Scandinavian-inspired, providing a stylish backdrop for the main event - an impressive display of fresh seafood offerings. The restaurant offers both casual brasserie dining on the lower level and more upscale white tablecloth service upstairs, with stunning sea views from the upper floor.
Another fantastic meal in Rick Stein's. We had the 4 course meal. Well you could say 5 as there was also an appetiser. The waiter was also amazing. We had a glass of Champagne each as we was celebrating our wedding anniversary and a small peice of brownie each for free. Can't wait till next year to go back.
Sheryl V — Google review
I expected more from a Rick Stein restaurant. The one in Padstow was excellent, this was not. For the price paid and level of food expected it was severely disappointing to say the least. We were a bit disappointed with the starters..my Mrs coconut prawns had no taste of coconut whatsoever. My mackerel salad was mediocre. We had the goan lobster and herb lobster for main , and whilst it seemed good value with a glass of champagne thrown in with the deal; they were both under seasoned and under spiced, and were bland at best. The accompanying sides were worse than I’d expect at a 1 star restaurant though…presentation was severely lacking for the quality of restaurant this was advertising. The cucumber and lime salad was literally cucumber and some lime juice ( I take more care slicing cucumber evenly at home !) and the buttered potatoes were bland to say the least ( I put parsley or chives on at home). There seemed to be no love in the food preparation. This may be because we sat at 8.30 and it was late in the day , but this not excusable for a restaurant that sells itself as higher end. On the plus side, our service from Luke was impeccable. Really good. The atmosphere is great and the setting amazing. Still, it didn’t detract from the bland food.

Great location, nice and cosy inside. Could use a few less pillows on the seating so you can actually sit down. The food was amazing. I had the crab burger, I always live seeing crab as a choice on menus because it isn't very common. Stunning burger and desserts. Highly recommend.

Superb restaurant, impeccable staff - warm, down to earth but super good. Amazing views and the food was top notch. We had the Fancy fish and chips and were blown away by how good it was, Best Ever! The octopus and halloumi small plates were delicious too. Definitely a special occasion venue or just a really nice treat.

The menu/food selection is great. I ordered the coconut prawns starter, which were very crispy and seasoned beautifully and tasted great. My main course was the wonderful crab linguine. Again, very tasty. We had a centrally located table for the 7 of us with a fantastic harbour view.

Wow 😋 I was speechless. From food to staff customer service( many thanks to Paul, Emanuel and Elena who served me today; you were 10 out of 10 👍) skills to ambiance - everything went flawless. I am looking forward to my next visit. This is the place to visit if you love shellfish as much as I do 🦞🦪🍤

Treated myself daughter to a lunch here to celebrate her pregnancy. I said in my reservation that she had been through ivf and not been successful but now actually pregnant naturally, when we arrived we had the best table overlooking the harbour, with a congratulations balloon, the food was exceptional, the wine was fantastic, the fresh juice was so tasty and the service was impeccable.

Hive Beach Cafe in Burton Bradstock is a laid-back spot right on the beach, offering a range of cafe classics, local seafood, and wine. The cafe was established through friendship and family ties, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Nestled along the Jurassic Coast, it provides an unforgettable dining experience with its proximity to the sea and impressive seafood dishes.
Stopped off here for impromptu lunch today after enjoying that scenic drive with views of Chesil Beach. Friendly welcome, great service. Food good - we had a hake and chips and the salt n pepper squid. A very cold beer and a glass of lovely rose washed it all down a treat. Fantastic views and casual dining. We’ll return with friends and perhaps I’ll get lucky and be a passenger not a driver next time! I’ll be having two big glasses of that rose 😁

Came for a joint birthday dinner for my mum and husband, the wine was nice and the hive lager really tasty! We got a mix of dishes including some specials, had a slight issue with my dish but they were very receptive and polite and sorted it out right away! Brilliant service and all the dishes were delicious. Atmosphere is really nice by the sea, would be nice if the ‘window’ panels on the tent were less cloudy to be able to see the sea when the tent is down but is a small point. Quaint with simple seating but food and service are the star

Stunning views and delicious fresh food. Service was fast and friendly despite our dithering over what to have. We had the seafood platter and the kitchen were kind enough to swap out the cold Lobster and prawns to the hot version (highly recommended if you like garlic sauce). The food is also great value for money. You get a satisfying portion size. We also had a crab sandwich which came with salad and vegetable crisps which was also fresh and tasty.

Visited this Cafe today after coming a cross it whilst walking Our Dog! Was quite busy but got a table straight away, table was off to the side which suited us as Our Dog Kiwi is a little nervous. Water Bowls are dotted around the Patio just for the Dogs! We ordered a Crab Sandwich with coleslaw and a deep fried Squid in a lime sauce with side salad, both were delicious, so much Crab Meat in the Sandwich and lots of deep fried squid! Definately recommend this Place, can imagine it is busy in High season! Reasonably priced for what We got!

Fantastic location and even better food. Our meals and all the others we saw looked amazing, the staff are brilliant too. Good sized portions and fair pricing.
Andy H — Google review
I really loved my first impromptu visit here 7 years ago. We decided to re-visit for my birthday as a family meal. From what I recall at our original visit, things have changed and expanded a bit since Covid etc and it’s good to see there are takeaway options and an outside terrace option. We spent over £300 on a meal for 2 adults and 2 teenage children which included drinks and desserts. I did feel this was excessive even though we ordered some amazing seafood dishes. If I could improve the experience it would be to have more options on the dinner menu as there weren’t that many and it seemed all were very pricey. I think a lot more attention is needed to address allergies and food intolerances and staff training needs to be more robust here. I have an intolerance to some fruits due to an inflamed bladder lining so I explained to the waitress I can’t do lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange. I also said I am sick if I eat mussels but I’m good with all other seafood and all other fruit. She told me they don’t serve mussels in their dishes. Later, they double checked if the single raspberry placed in my cocktail was ok. It was. However, they didn’t pay any attention or give any warning to the large wedges of lemon served on a seafood platter we’d ordered and I was quite shocked to also find mussels among the platter. I didn’t bother saying anything at the time as I just avoided the areas near the lemon wedges and my husband ate the mussels and I chose other parts of the platter. My intolerances are not that serious and I do it to avoid pain and any sickness. However, some people have serious adversities and I was just surprised this happened. I think I expect somewhere that charges over £300 for dinner to look after me for 100% of the experience. If I had brought this up I think it might have spoiled my birthday dinner out but how would they have backtracked from doing this if I had? Overall, it was a lovely meal and we enjoyed the atmosphere and experience thoroughly.

We had a fantastic breakfast here on the last day of our trip to Dorset. Our Airbnb host had recommended and we weren’t disappointed. It was a blustery cloudy day so we sat inside, we arrived 20 mins before breakfast stopped serving but ourselves and our 2 dogs were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Not knowing what would be available we ordered our breakfast and it was delicious. My only complaint is the lack of an alternative to butter for my toast. I have a severe allergy to dairy but was told by the waiting staff that they have no alternative. A bit backward in this day and age. Next time I’ll bring my own!

Nestled on the picturesque Avon Beach, The Noisy Lobster is a delightful haven for seafood enthusiasts and casual diners alike. This family-run gem offers a relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of Mudeford Bay and the Isle of Wight, featuring both indoor seating and a dog-friendly terrace that invites you to soak in the coastal charm. With an emphasis on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, much of their menu showcases fresh catches from nearby fishermen in Mudeford and Lymington.
Very friendly, efficient and professional staff. Views were amazing! All entrees, mains and desserts were beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and delicious. Flavours were matched perfectly and their wine choice was spot on. They were very happy to cater for dietary requirements which was very much appreciated. You will not be disappointed with any of the dishes you choose. We would not hesitate to go back!

The food was very good and beautifully presented. The location of the restaurant is also excellent, with lovely views of the sea. We arrived around 5pm and asked to sit upstairs, but unfortunately we were told that section wasn’t open due to limited bookings. However, we did notice that there were still some guests seated on the upstairs balcony at that time. We ended up sitting outside downstairs, where you can still enjoy the sea view. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, though it would have been nicer to sit upstairs.

Delicious food. Quite expensive but that said there are burgers and fish and chips for £20 odd which looking at location and quality of food is worth it. If you want something else a little more special then price goes up and wine costs all add up! But beautiful food lovely location and worth the money!
Shaun H — Google review
Really good food, there was a musician on in the front of the restaurant that we couldn't quite hear, but it was good in the background. Food was amazing, the only thing that let it down was the prawn cocktail that was a bit bland. But the Monkfish more than made up for it on flavour!
Lynn W — Google review
Great location, lovely looking restaurant. Staff were great. Had monkfish 1st visit which was amazing a bit pricey but your paying for the view aswell i think. Had the dressed crab the next day and which looked great, but i was really disappointed with it. It was dry and bland and quite a small crab, looked like most of the white meat was used elsewhere. This was well overpriced at over £30, I have had loads better off a local fish van for £8. This has put me off going back and will be trying other restaurants around the area.

We came here after a few friends had recommended it. A very good choice indeed. Our party of 5 included or 10 year old, my wife and her parents, so a wee age range. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was absolutely superb. From the lobster, to the crab, to the steak that I had (I'm not a fan of seafood). All of it was cooked to perfection and served well presented. The staff were great, attentive and friendly without being overbearing. It was lovely watching their interactions with some customers who were clearly regular. The restaurant was clean, well laid out and the atmosphere felt right, which is a fairly subjective thing. There was some live music in the bar area, fortunately it wasn't too loud in the restaurant space as sleepless or can be quite distracting having to talk over someone trying to entertain you?

Visited for lunch, food was absolutely gorgeous. Don't be fooled by the standard battered fish and chips on the menu, best I've ever eaten! Monfish main was beautiful, highly recommend. Octopus and prawn starters were delicious and the foccacia with seaweed butter is 100% worth ordering. Beautiful food with fantastic views.

Fantastic food, stunning location, excellent service. Prices a bit on the high side but justified by the overall quality of the venue. Dog-friendly walk-in terrace on the ground floor no, paying carpark adjacent, gorgeous views of the Isle of Wight and Christchurch Bay on a sunny day.

Urban Reef is a beachfront bar-bistro with a ground floor takeaway and deli, as well as a contemporary glass-fronted restaurant and terrace. The venue offers an idyllic setting with breathtaking views of Bournemouth Bay and Boscombe Promenade. The menu features the best of Dorset cuisine, including regional delicacies like Dorset rock oysters and Cornish mussels.
Right by the Boscombe seafront, this spot is for a quality food with a view. We stopped in on a chilly afternoon, so unfortunately couldn’t make the most of their sea-facing terrace, but even from indoors, the coastal charm was very much alive. The interior struck a lovely balance—modern, airy and full of vibrant tones, it felt relaxed and light-hearted, perfectly echoing the beachside vibe outside. We tried the cheese toastie and the beef burger, and both dishes surpassed expectations. The toastie was a real comfort dish—oozing with mature, sharp cheddar, and grilled to a perfect golden crisp. The balance of crunch and creaminess was spot on, and the bread had that ideal tang of a well-fermented sourdough, elevating it beyond the everyday. The burger was a highlight. The beef patty was clearly house-made, juicy, expertly cooked, and seasoned in a way that let the meat shine without being overpowering. The bun was soft yet structured, holding everything together nicely, and the garnish was fresh, simple and well-proportioned. For a casual lunch by the sea, this place really hits the mark. We’ll definitely be back, hopefully next time for a long lunch in the sun on that gorgeous terrace.

Two years on and still my favourite place to dine, there’s so many reasons I’m always here weekly. Firstly the staff are amazing, friendly, professional & always been greeted with a smile and the food consistently tastes really good. I’ve tried a lot and they’re always adding new stuff to the menu too (the chef & his teams are the best locally). A special thanks to Abby & Kaitlin for taking the time to understand my new allergies today due to medication and double checking ingredients for me. Also a big thank you Pedro & Roberto for having me as a local customer.

This was a very positive experience. Location, drinks and serving staff made you feel like it was the place to be! An old guy troubled us at our table and we had difficulty shifting him, but a young member of staff gently moved him on. He was polite about it, so we reflected his actions in the tip!

I can't give it five stars because I did not eat there. Fair selection of drinks and excellent, friendly service. The beachfront location is a wow! We could have sat there all day. Lovely vibe about the place and I should imagine that it transforms into a lovely evening hangout.

Just popped in for a drink and watch the world go by and have a small lunch. We were seated straight away. Had a small pizza style garlic bread and a pint of cider. The outside is dog friendly too.

Can’t go wrong with beach front property , or so I thought. Kitchen staff look professional and produce good , if not spectacular food. But front of house look lost and untrained, “Hi guys” & random student clothing. Maybe that is for the surfer / student vibe; but it doesn’t match the prices. No greeter when you enter, tired looking menus. Overall good, but could do better.

Food was great. Went here twice when we were down for a long weekend. The muscles were a generous portion and very big and tasty. Only had seafood here and it was all good. If you are there in peak season I would recommend making a booking

It is well placed close to the Cobb and has lots of seating. Quite a good atmosphere during the day. Three of us eat there all having the same, two thought the fish and chips were ok, one was disappointed. Not much of an exaggeration to say that one of the fish portions was more batter than fish. The chips were not the best we have eaten. For the price we expected better but I guess you are paying for the location. However, the staff were really helpful and friendly.

Absolutely amazing! I didn’t expect much from a sea side inn but we were blown away! Especially having eaten somewhere quite posh the day before which didn’t live up to its reviews- we couldn’t believe the skill of the chef! Never tasted anything like it! We had the catch of the day- gurnard which was so beautifully presented and exquisite flavours with leek and bacon fricasse and pea croquette with shoe string fries- wow! The chocolate pudding was delicious too! So lovely to be by the sea with that atmosphere! morris dancing outside, dog welcome and fast service. Couldn’t speak more highly of the place. Will definitely recommend to friends and return some day! Thanks for a lovely evening! Stunning local art on the walls too!

Really delicious lunch. Perfect table, as suited the special request that I made on booking. Lovely atmosphere. The only issue that I found was that after we were seated and were given the Menu’s, we were left for 20minutes without any service at all. During those 20minutes - 2 tables were served their desserts and we saw no-one at the area of the restaurant until 20minutes had passed and I summonsed a waitress to serve us with some drinks and our choice of meal - just incase we had to wait another 20mins before they returned. This was redeemed by the beautiful lunch. But ruined the initial impression of our visit.

Enjoyed the superb food served up by the kitchen today. Amazing quality and taste, Sadly let down by a poor performance by the front of house team. Not a smile between them and almost felt we were an inconvenience. Hopefully the kitchen get to share the tip and maybe brought a glimmer of a smile to the front of house team. The food was hot and delicious - just what we needed.

We were lucky both times as there was hardly any queue but the place is very busy! Service is quick, and the fish is so good! Pea fritters also something that we tried and liked, mushy peas were brilliant and the local lager was also good. We were not impressed by the crab cakes, but that’s just a matter of preference…

Best place to have fish and chips in Weymouth! Waited to go to Bennett’s before posting review to figure out the local debate on which one is better - Marlboro for me!! Top quality fish and chips, had the large cod - delicious and hearty!! Polite and efficient service and has a clean toilet. Going there again!!

You know it has to be good, if the police eat here! Pleasant and friendly service. A bit pricier than some fish and chips places but Large portions and worth the price. Recommend the scampi and chips. You can add gravy or curry sauce.

Really very good foah and chips. Actually incredibly impressed. The fish was moist and flavourful. The batter was thin, crunchy and tasty. Chips are done perfectly. The Hallumi was huge and so stringy and amazing. The pea fritter is odd, its literally just mushy peas covered in breadcrumbs and I definitely wouldn't recommend. Over all this place is a gem and I'd highly recommend.

This is THE fish and chips shop in Weymouth. We highly recommend the curry sauce, as it may be the best we've ever had. The portions are generous and staff are friendly.

Amazing fish and chips. We both ordered the same meal, a large cod and chips, and it was the best we've ever had! Curry sauce was great too. Our drinks were lemonade and lime, really nice. The meal came to £46 with the 2x Large cod and chips, curry sauce and 2x lemonade and lime drinks. We got there just after 7pm on a Friday and the queue for takeaway service was out the door and approx. 20 people waiting, but if you want to sit-in you can just bypass the queue and walk straight in through the single door and ask to be seated. Overall fantastic meal and service was quick, not the cheapest but definitely the best fish and chips we've ever tried. Neither of us managed to eat everything on our plate, there was so much!

Came here before and was so happy to return again! The food was beautiful as always! I was abit disappointed that I couldn't have the chicken and mushroom pie as they ran out but instead I had the chicken chunks which was absolutely beautiful! My partner had the large cod which looked delicious! The service was friendly and fast. Everything you want in a little chippy diner! You can eat in or take away! But be quick as the queue is often out the door and rightfully so!

Super little restaurant serving lots of local fare. Good value considering pubs are asking the same amount these days. Served with care and food very well presented. I had linguine gambas (which were massive), preceded by a deliciously fresh salmon pate. Good selection of wines by the glass or bottle and an espresso coffee for £2! Deffo coming here again.

Had a really nice meal here on Friday night. Food was very nice. Starters we opted for Prawns which were cooked in a curry based sauce, very smooth and rich. I think the Olive Tree in Bridport is probably the best restaurant I’ve ever dined in. I’ve dined there several times over the last few years and have always enjoyed the food. It’s consistently of a very high quality and always extremely tasty. My most recent visit was the first time I have experienced the lunchtime Spectacular which I found an absolute delight and would highly recommend. There is always a crowd of at least eight of us that dine together and the service has always been first class and very professionally managed so never any dishes arriving late or cool. My daughter is vegan and gluten free and has always been very well catered for. I have tried various options on the menu over the years and have always been very happy with my dining experience. The prices are very reasonable for the standard of cuisine served at the Olive Tree and I would highly recommend it if you fancy a tasty treat extravaganza.

Our recent dinner at the Olive Tree in Bridport was really very good indeed. A pleasant room with attentive service. A tempting menu. Both our starters reached the 'try some of mine' level of taste. The catch of the day was beautifully cooked fresh fish with simply but beautifully cooked local vegetables. The cheese board was so good we took some home to continue the next day. Prices were extremely reasonable.

Easy 5 stars. For the quality of the food and the portion sizes, it is very reasonably priced. I think I had half a trawlers worth of mussels in my pasta. The waitresses were also great.

This is a great place for seafood. The pizzas are nice too - they have a pizza oven. I recommend the catch of the day. It comes with a nice butter sauce and a nice selection of steamed veg, slightly different than usual, which was quite lovely. If you like mussels, the seafood spectacular is the one to go for. I also enjoyed the fish soup. Attentive service and nice atmosphere. It’s nice either for lunch or dinner. I’ve found, if I just walk in, I won’t be guaranteed a table because it’s quite popular. Best to call ahead and book.

Restaurant
Catch at The Old Fish Market is located on Custom House Quay in Weymouth, overlooking the River Wey harbor. Housed in a historic Portland stone building designed by architect Thomas Talbot Bury, it was originally built as a fish market and has now been beautifully restored by Dorset fish and shellfish company Weyfish. The establishment includes Hatch on the Harbour for street food and takeaway, as well as Catch for fine dining.
We booked our first able for 6pm and arrived 20 minutes early expecting to have a drink before the meal. We were turned away as the restaurant wasn’t open and they were still having their team brief. Arriving at 6:10pm, we were the second table to be seated. Throughout the night, we noticed that the timings of the tables were staggered to take the pressure off the kitchen. Once seated, the experience was sublime. We had a great view of the kitchen; it was fantastic to see how they worked together and how each dish was put together. We had the tasting menu with wine flight. Really good to see that the ingredients are all locally sourced; even to the level of what boat the fish comes from! Stand outs from the menu were the cheeses and exclusive honey that they produce. The octopus was sensational. Nothing was too much trouble and the r had an extremely enjoyable evening. Highly recommend.
Raul — Google review
Had a excellent evening at Catch. The whole team put on an amazing service. Menu was carefully thought through and it really showed in the presentation and execution of the dishes. Our favourite of the night was the lobster with sundried tomatoes. The water sauce was delicate yet packed full of flavour. Crab butter was also delicious. We thought it was the perfect amount of food for the dinner set course. Would definitely come back.

How this has not got a Michelin star yet is beyond me. This means it is incredible value for money at the moment. The fish could not be fresher and the dishes were fantastic. Highlight was the cuttlefish but even the beetroot relish accompanying the extra cheese course was amazing. Special mention to the wine pairing as well; the quality of the 2 wines, English Sparkling Rose, Tokaij and English apple brandy were great value for money and will be looking to buy some for myself. Go as much as you can.

Cannot fault the experience. We celebrated our engagement here, and the staff interactions made the entire night. Well, I lie. The food did! Especially the delicious puddings. We were both made to feel so welcome, and comfortable by everyone we interacted with. The simple and elegant congratulations card was such a nice touch too. We intend to put it in a small frame in the house. Thank you very much. We will be back.

A delicious meal in a relaxed restaurant with helpful and friendly service. We booked for a tasting menu lunch, but it was more of a 3 course meal. There were extra courses available but they cost extra. I doubt I'd have fitted in any more as the main dish was a good size. I'd definitely go back again. Its not cheap but it's excellent quality food.

We had Catch of The Day (Sea Bass), and Special Fish and Chips. Both were super delicious, perfect taste, perfectly cooked. It was the first time we had Fish and Chips with 2 special sauces, yummy. They even gave us 1 prawn on the side (it was chef's surprise). The prawn was also really delicious. The service was excellent, the staffs were friendly. But the atmosphere was not really cozy because it was noisy when we had dinner there. Free wifi for customers is available. Toilet for customers is available.

Went for a midweek meal. It was quiet, so we got a table without a reservation. The staff were very nice and took our order promptly. We had anti-pasti to start, and this was quite a small portion for a sharing dish, only one type of meat, but it was very nice. For mains, we had mussels and fries. It was a large portion of mussels, and the sauce was very nice. A lot of the mussels were quite small. Considering how quiet it was, we had a long wait between courses. We enjoyed what we had but found most of the dishes on the menu very expensive. I would have liked more choice of non fizzy soft drinks, but that's just me. If you don't mind the wait and happy to pay a little more, they have a good selection of fresh fish and seafood.

Lovely spacious restaurant serving fresh and unique dishes. The restaurant was quiet as it was mid week. The service was good albeit a bit slow but the food was delicious. We had fried soft crab, vongole pasta and mussels. All tasted very fresh. The home made bread was delicious. Would recommend.

4.5/5, great tasty food and fantastic friendly service. Bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Was a bit quiet but it means our service was especially excellent, the battered fish and mussels were very delicious!

We came here on a Saturday evening; however it wasn't particularly busy. The food was lovely when it arrived, but the service was incredibly slow. It felt as if there were a lot of staff milling around at times. For example, we were asked by multiple people if we were ready to order. The slow service did disappoint us overall as we were expecting good things, so we probably wouldn't return

Surprised at the reviews, as I expected it to be much higher. My partner and I have been dining here a lot over the years, and I can say that its our favourite restaurant for a fine dining experience at an affordable price. My partner and I spend £100-£120 (including tip on top of the service fee) for a main course, wine, and dessert. In my opinion this is excellent pricing for how the quality of the food, and flavour. Its not a fast food restaurant, so be prepared to enjoy your drinks and have a conversation while you wait a reasonable time for your food to come. The waiters are lovely, and help each other out. They also go above and beyond to learn your name when you go more than once. A small thing, but it feels extra special. I took my partner for a birthday meal last night. I had the catch of the day sea-bream. (We usually have the calamari) My partner loved it so much that we returned the next day to have it again. We noticed familiar faces from the previous night too, coming back for seconds. Please don’t concern yourself with the negative reviews. I haven’t been to a restaurant in Bournemouth that is consistent like The Crab. I have never walked away disappointed. They also take your opinions on board and implement them, so they actively improve their service. The catch of the day, and the mousse (bear in mind the menu changes every season so they may not have it) is our favourite.
Emma-lee C — Google review
Walked in at opening time, told they needed the table back in 1.30h, said no problem... A starter of humans took 30mins to arrive, tiny bowl and one pita bread for £5. Had lobster for main, again took ages, asked for mayonnaise which never turned up. Had to go to the bar 3 times to get my own drinks. Over priced and under serviced. Refused paying the "discretionary" 12.5% service fee. Bill still near £70 not good value or service. I'll never go back.

Firstly, the food was really delicious, secondly it was quick, and most importantly, we came with four little kids who were sandy, restless and noisy, yet everyone was very friendly and calm about it — thank you for that! This place used to be good about 10 years ago, went there again to try it as we stopped going after it went downhill. Well, it just continues to drop in quality and service. They have maybe one staff member to serve us and the food was beyond bad, especially for the price. My bacon was barely cooked to the point it just made me heave. Takes ages for the server to come take your order and to take the bill or come to you if you need another drink. Won’t come again.

Great spot but the food was a bit of a cheat. Got the seafood salad. Absolutely dreadful. So small it was served in the middle of a clam shell. Not so much salad with tortilla but tortilla with a spoon of salad. Like all dishes it was swimming with oil. Straight out of a packet. I don't understand how so many good restaurants go bust but they can charge £14 for this nonsense. The £16 Tuna Capaccio also tiny. No wonder there was no table check. The waiter was probably embarrassed. The sides were generous. Other half enjoyed his trout so added a * but this was also greasy. Excellent spot on the beach. It overlooks a party bar with good vibes but still get sea view

We only had lunch and it was fantastic. We had the catch of the day, Hake roasted with fennel and capers on a bed of samphir. And the roasted sea bass on mashed potatoes was very nice. Great front table overlooking the sea and the rock beach that sings like a rain stick as the tide ebbs and flows.

Bit of a late review as 4 of us had a fantastic lunch back on September 19th. The food and service is excellent. Special thanks to Mia & Jess who looked after us. A must visit on the coastal path.

We were hiking on the South West Coast path and it was pouring with rain and windy. Unfortunately, we arrived half an hour too early for lunch, which we didn't know. A member of staff rudely turned us away, telling us the pub was closed. He could have invited us inside for warmth and shelter for a while, it wouldn't have cost them anything! I emailed the manager about the incident, but never received a response. I guess customer satisfaction doesn't rate high on their radar.
Michele L — Google review
We ate here last week with my parents in law and the food was good, if a little pricey. Despite the Australian waitress we had being outstanding I found the rest of the staff rather offhand and got the distinct impression they expected all their customers to be tourists who they would never see again and therefore didn’t need to make too much effort with. The Anchor is a historical pub with fantastic views over the beach and sea, but we won’t be returning again for more than a drink.
Steve O — Google review
Really excellent food, and particularly creative vegetarian options too, which is so rare to find. The only down side is their car park only has space for ~8 cars, and if you can’t find a space you have to pay £8 (!) to park in the beach car park … although at least this gives you a £2 credit to use in the pub or pizza van. Still glad to have come, and would have had to have paid the parking fee anyway as we wanted to go for a coastal walk from here.

Guildhall Tavern is a renowned restaurant in a charming part of Poole's old town, offering classic French cuisine and signature seafood dishes in a simple, nautical-themed dining room. The menu features varied choices including posh burgers and pizzas. The restaurant also boasts an elegant cocktail lounge with mouthwatering signature and classic cocktails, as well as happy hour specials on select days.
We had the pleasure of booking the Guildhall Tavern for our wedding lunch reception and we had the most spectacular food and wine pairings topped with the best service. Our guests absolutely enjoyed the menu that was curated for the occasion by the chef. We are still raving about the food almost a month later. Also, if you're there please do try the English Sparkling Wine (Champagne) it was divine. Thank you to the Guildhall Tavern team for giving us the best treatment and elevating our dining experience, making our day even more special.

Amazing seafood and steak at the Guildhall Tavern tonight. We’ve been coming for years and it’s one of the best restaurants in Bournemouth/Poole in our opinion. Ingredients are always fresh, great taste, wonderful service, welcoming ambience with nice decor. We will be back again soon!

What a delightful evening. We were searching for a place for a special celebration and the reviews looked great so we booked a table. The food was DELICIOUS and the service from Dom and Apple was also delightful. I had the days Special - which was Massamon curry with huge pieces of meaty fish and an amazing sauce which was like lobster bisque meets Thailand - absolutely fabulous. My husband had the platter with catch of the day - also stunning. We even squeezed in a chocolate fondant to round it all off! I only wish we had found it sooner!!

Simply the best restaurant I’ve eaten at in Poole and the best Sunday Roast I’ve had in 10 years. The staff were superb, the Chefs are artists as far as I’m concerned and I had a great pleasure talking to Alan who’s the owner who was eating at the table next to me and chatting to guests and the pride in his restaurant and love for his staff and customers was so apparent. I’ve never felt so welcomed, looked after and enjoyed a leisurely Sunday meal like it

Everything was at a high level. The dishes were delicious, and I personally liked the scallops. The service was excellent. The main dishes were not served quickly, although the restaurant was not fully loaded. A nice bonus from the restaurant for my birthday. Overall, I recommend it.

Wow, what a fantastic find, we went here today, and i am seriously impressed with the quality of the food, in particular the fish cookery, I've eaten seafood around the world, and this comes out on top of all the seafood I've eaten, top marks to the chef, and all the great staff, we will definitely be back, and I have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic restaurant 💜 And it's dog friendly too, massive bonus points there too

The food was superb and the service was great. Really liked that they sell a locally made Prosecco. Only small downside was the beer choices—not the best, but the bottled IPA was actually really good.

The Poole Arms is a historic and rustic pub located on Poole Quay, dating back to the early 17th century. Adorned with beautiful green tiles and featuring the Poole Coat of Arms, this establishment offers a charming dining experience. Run by friendly hosts, Bob Kerr and Maureen, it specializes in homemade seafood dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The pub's terrace provides a picturesque setting to enjoy international wines alongside delicious meals.
Holy! This place was such a gem to stumble across in Poole. The prices were incredibly reasonable compared to all the other surrounding places AND for fresh seafood. I’m from Australia and I know good seafood and by god THIS is good seafood. We ordered the oysters which were HUGH, the scallops and the sardines for starters which were all fantastic and tasted fresh. Then, we ordered the smoked haddock pot, the skate wing and the sea bass and gosh all were 10/10. I think the skate wing and the smoked haddock pot were the highlights. The chef definitely knows how to cook fish. Also, the servers were amazing - big shout out to Emma and Debbie - they all had great banter and were very professional. If I wasn’t leaving tomorrow, I would be back again and again.

Staying in Poole for a few days, 30 seconds away from this gorgeous pub. It has set the standard for all food we will eat, and service going forward. The freshest oysters we've ever eaten. 10/10 recommend and would return.

The food at Poole arms was so delicious. The portions are huge and you can tell that everything is freshly made. The menu is also really well priced, we had starters, mains and alcoholic drinks for two at around £80. As the pub is so small I would definitely recommend booking. We booked on the day and only had the choice of first or last table as they’re quite popular! It’s very quaint inside but is very old school pub style and not very modern. All of the staff were really friendly so if you are looking for a lovely old pub experience I would thoroughly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic food and great service. I would advise to book in advance though, we went for dinner and was fully booked, so we booked for next day lunch. The fish and seafood casserole was just amazing, I loved it!

Delicious, fresh and well-cooked food superbly presented with great and honest service. Really good ambience in the pub as well. We were accommodated even if we didn't have reservations, we just waited a few minutes by the bar and a table got free for us. It's a small but popular place so booking highly recommended.

We had been wanting to visit Poole Arms for quite some time and, yesterday, we finally made the journey. It was well worth the wait and the travel. The place itself is located on Poole Quay. A charming, and quirky little place and with such a welcoming atmosphere. The seafood was our reason for going and Poole Arms did not disappoint!! It was exquisite!! I had the Gambas Pil Pil to start and the Poole Arms Seafood Casserole for my main. Both were cooked to perfection and were absolutely delicious. The menu offers seafood lovers a great selection of well-cooked, and delicious starters and mains, and there is also a great selection of ploughman's and sandwiches. All in all, I would highly recommend a visit to Poole Arms. Book well in advance as it is a very popular venue, and with good reason!! We went back today for lunch. Delicious food and excellent service. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Dropped in Thursday 5pm for drinks, Tia and Lexi acknowledged us straight away. So we reserved a table for 6pm whilst we sat outside with drinks and quayside views. The fish menu is very extensive. 1 x fish pie, 1 x chicken with stilton and parma ham. Both really good and would recommend for the quality, service and ambiance. Thank you👌

Shell Bay Seafood Restaurant is a casual dining venue located by the beach, offering a menu focused on seafood and more. The restaurant provides outside tables with stunning sea views. Situated on one of the National Trust's protected Studland beaches, it offers soft-sanded shores backed by dunes and overlooks Pooles glimmering harbor waters and Brownsea Island. The establishment has been recognized for its excellent seafood dishes and al a carte menu, catering to even the most discerning palates.
What can I say?!? This was the best meal we had during our time staying in Sandbanks. Firstly, the service was perfect and we were very well looked after for the entire meal, including a special birthday surprise for one of our group. Every dish, from starters to desserts, was delicious & creative and we could tell they used super fresh ingredients. We loved the fact the restaurant had a laid back & relaxed vibe whilst offering incredible food. And the views were beautiful! Thank you so much Shell Bay and compliments to the chef ☺️

Amazing seafood and spectacular location. Portions are generous and the service first class. Even waiter service for our doggy. Prices are steep but you get what you pay for and the quality of food and cooking could not be faulted. However, the only comment which I mean constructively is that the wonderful seafood just needs some good plain sides. I felt the rather fussy sides were competing with the main dish and we would have liked a choice of simple sides to go with the fish.
Neville M — Google review
The Shell Bay Restaurant is now one of my favourites in Dorset! We went there for my birthday yesterday and I cannot fault it. The menu is extensive, but in no way overwhelming. We opted for a selection of nibbles, rather than two starters, and I am glad we did, as it gives you the opportunity to sample a wider range. All the food was outrageously tasty and beautifully presented. The service was utterly impeccable - one of our waiters has worked there for 11 years! - and the views/location are definitely some of the best in the UK. Dogs are very welcome, and all the staff made such a fuss of our two little Pugs. Would I go back? The biggest YES ever! This restaurant scores a perfect 10/10 from me in every respect. Simply stunning!

Booked here for a birthday meal for a dear friend. Have wanted to go there for a while and we weren't disappointed. Great to see an open kitchen. The staff were young but very efficient and friendly, and didn't rush. All our starters and main meals arrived to our table on hot plates and the servings were plentiful. The location is amazing, looking towards Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island. Would highly recommend, booking advisable.

If you’re a well-travelled food lover, this restaurant is unlikely to impress. Aside from the stunning views over Poole Harbour, both the setting and the food felt underwhelming. The atmosphere lacked warmth, character, and flavour. On arrival, there was no welcoming greeting—just a blunt “have you booked?” To make matters worse, the restaurant allows pets inside. Watching dogs drool on tables while being fed by their owners is far from acceptable, and we certainly did not appreciate having to look at a dog’s backside for the duration of our meal. Guests should at least be asked if they’re comfortable sitting near pets, especially given that allergies are common. As someone with a dog allergy, I was shocked to be seated between two dogs with no consideration. If restaurants ask about food allergies, why not pet allergies too? When we raised a concern about the skate wings—which were left unfinished because they didn’t seem properly cooked—the waitress merely replied, “hopefully dessert will be better,” which hardly inspires confidence. At nearly £200 for two, the experience felt disappointing and overpriced. Even the oysters, though nicely presented, were so small they resembled cockles rather than the delicacy you’d expect. Overall, the restaurant feels overrated and overpriced, and I would not recommend it. There are plenty of restaurants in and around Swanage offering far more flavoursome food, better value, and a much more enjoyable dining experience. 👎👎👎👎👎

Wow – Stunning Food with a View This fabulous fish restaurant has stunning view across the water to Brownsea Island. However, be aware that there is no parking at the site, but, there is a 200 metre walk from a National Trust car park that charges £5 for non-members. There is an excellent choice of fresh fish that is cooked on a grill. We had the langoustine and anchovies as starters then both elected to go for the grilled palace as main course. Great, friendly service, the restaurant is pricey, but good value for money. We went there for lunch, but have to have to go back for dinner to catch the sunset over Poole Harbour.

Rachel's is a family-friendly eatery located in West Dorset, offering unbeatable fish and chips with stunning views of the idyllic West Bay. This small wooden kiosk boasts a diverse menu featuring fresh seafood, including juicy prawns and whole lobster. It has been highly rated as a top seafood restaurant in Dorset, known for its locally-sourced food and outside dining experience with breathtaking views.
Every time we visit Bridport, this is a must for us. Having travelled all day from the Highlands, finding that Rachel's was still open and was happy to prepare us some food was an absolute joy. Fish platter for me and the dirty beef fries for husband and we were in heaven. Love being outside, even if it did look like the heavens were going to open, having been stuck in a car for 12 hours I can't tell you how good this felt. We'll be back, again and again... till next time x

Really impressed with the food here! The crab sandwich was fresh, packed with flavour. The fish tacos were absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of spice and fresh toppings. Great portions and everything tasted so fresh. Would definitely come back for these again!

Rachel’s is a marvellous little establishment. The lunch service fills over the summer so booking is essential. It’s easy to see why, fabulous fresh local seafood. Everything we tried was full of flavour and very reasonably priced. Service equally excellent, at busy periods you may have to wait but staff make it clear you’re good is being prepared. And to top it all off the coffee is outstanding.

What a fantastic food hut next to the harbour of west bay! Me and my partner wasn’t really hungry but when I read the menu we couldn’t resist. Some serious delicious fresh fish plates made it difficult to choose but we settled on the fish tacos as it was easy to share. Cannot fault the experience, the food and the lovely staff. 10/10

Absolutely the most delicious fish and chips we've had in a long time. Light crispy batter and fresh fish. The tacos were also great. Our waiting staff could have been a bit more engaged but the kitchen staff were all on fire and service was very efficient. Had to rush a bit as we were at a reserved table but 30 minutes was ample. A delightful second visit 😊

Wonderful kiosk serving amazing locally caught fish, so popular that you really need to book a table unless you are going for a takeaway. We had line caught, battered haddock and chips, beautifully cooked with a fantastically crisp batter.

Took is a while to find because it’s now called Rubicon Kitchen but they still have the Rachel’s signage. Well worth a visit - the fish tacos were incredible and the calamari was amazing (as a non-squid eater). Mum and brother had the scallops which are hand-dived and they said they were divine.

We stopped here thinking we would have fish and chips by the sea. After seeing other people eating the seafood platter we decided that's what we would try. We were certainly not disappointed. It was delicious. All the food that came out of the small hut looked excellent. I even tried a Mojito, after being recommended by another customer. Could not fault it. Would recommended to everyone.

Rockfish Poole Seafood Restaurant is a delightful coastal treasure that showcases the best of locally-sourced seafood. Nestled along the picturesque Quay in the historic Poole Pottery building, this award-winning eatery boasts an inviting atmosphere with its impressive vaulted ceilings and open kitchen, where diners can watch their meals being prepared fresh from the sea. The menu is ever-changing, reflecting the daily catch brought in by their own boat, The Rockfisher.
Not a seafood person but this was an absolute gem of a place right on the quayside. Leaned heavily on the recommendation of hake after a patient explainer of what was fresh, from where and how it was cooked and served. It was all delicious, the chips were unlimited and the coleslaw was a gem hidden on the right of the menu. “Shipping forecast” was a nice touch. Superb.
K D — Google review
Set along the harbourside in Poole, Rockfish delivers on brand values & the ethos of serving fresh day boat caught fish from Brixham! Staff are scripted to explain the types of fish & seafood available, & how each dish is served, but they could improve on being more attentive. The restaurant has nice inside seating, & a few outdoor tables, great if the sun is shinning! We opted for the whole seabass, which is served off the grill, along with 2 sides; a nicely dressed salad & unlimited fries! The 'meaty' Seabass was flavoursome, & cooked well, if anything I felt ever so slightly over. It was sat in a delicious garlicky butter, & for me, this could have been swimming in it, it was so good! It was a great 'social' dish & was perfect with the chips! however, we did order extra, 'unlimited' was offered; but sadly they took ages to arrive (a fryer issue!?) and we ended up eating them after we finished the fish! The wine list was good, & without starters, a shared main & no desert, the bill came to just over £100, which wasn't bad for the size & quality of the Bass! Overall a good place if you appreciate fish, but I feel service could have been better & the delay's was a bit disappointing.

Rockfish restaurant is an exceptional dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, truly a treat for the taste buds. The staff was very friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. Special thanks to server Anette, who went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed the last 6 oysters available — her kindness and extra effort made our evening even more special. Despite arriving late in the evening, we were pleased to find that we could still get a table, which speaks to their accommodating nature. Highly recommend this place for a memorable dinner!

As bodybuilders we find it hard to eat out, especially when one of us is on prep. However, having looked at the menu, we thought we could make eating here work and we were not disappointed. Having booked a table for Saturday lunch, we arrived early and were still seated straight away. The host and our waitress didn’t mind at all that my partner had bought his scales so he could weigh his food when it arrived at the table. Our waitress Charlotte was also really helpful in suggesting which catches a fish. My partner could have that would not be battered and she understood the need for no butter on the potatoes and the salad with no dressing. As for me, I was able to make great high protein choices (cockles to start) as well as opting for something a little more off plan with the Prawn tacos; these were perfectly cooked and full of flavour. We couldn’t have been happier with the quality of the food or the service we recieved; definitely one of the best dining experiences we have had in recent months. We both agreed that we would go back when we could enjoy the bottomless chips which we passed on, on this occasion

You have to wait a long time for your food here which is a major disappointment and something many ither reviewers have noted. Some of the other low reviews here point to many of the issues a chain restaurant suffers from - constantly changing serving staff and chefs. With all that said, the head server and Toni-Jay were amazing with us on our two visits. While I have seen some reviews point to the quality of food, as a seasoned reviewer I thought it was to a very good standard overall. The fish was daily and very fresh. The different starters, like the vegetable tempura, were done very well, with decent quality olives for example, and bread. The sides like beans and slaw with great, as well as rhe compound butters. I also thought their lager was tasty. The decor is very pleasing in here and the fake shipping forecast audible in the rest rooms was amusing. The owners of the chain have to get to grips with the food-speed issue and I was surprised to find it was a chain after our first visit. However, the wait for quality food was worth it overall. Many people will not come back locally if these issues persist on slow-speed of food, and on both occasions the wait for food was 40 minutes per course. Because there is a high-turnover of tourists in the summer, though, I suspect it will be able to manage this situation. This is a must-book place I would say if you are going to eat here in tourist season as it was very busy.
Hywel M — Google review
Such a lovely place to sit with friendly service and a great range of food. I would recommend the oysters to begin with. They come with a great dressing and sauce which makes them even better! I would recommend booking in advance it’s difficult to get a table especially at the weekend.

I do wish we lived closer to Rockfish restaurants - they never fail to impress. This is our fourth visit and it was the main reason for the trip to Poole (although our dogs were exhausted from the beach just prior). The welcome was enthusiastic and warm for not just us humans but especially for our two dogs - they were really made a fuss of with free sprats given. Food here is always outstanding. I love that the waitress describes each special fish that’s available. The mussels were large and so delicious, so too the calamari, but the real highlight for me was the Megrim Sole - it was huge and cooked to perfection. The rest of us enjoyed the John Dory & Ray Wings. Great service, outstanding food, reasonable value & best of all - very dog friendly. What’s not to love.

I went to just the restaurant and despite all the awards that are shown on the wall it wasn't great. The staff were incredibly friendly, it's just the food that let them down. The red lettuce thing I had with my burger was covered in oil, the pickle had the strangest mint taste to it (but that's probably just personal choice) and the edges of the burger were burnt to a crisp. The veg my partner had was very nice, crunchy and buttery We were told that the menu was changing tomorrow so I appreciate we might of gotten the bits they were trying to get rid of ready for the next day. I am however willing to try out their new menu

Took my mum down to Lyme Regis as it's her favourite local seaside . Stopped at the Cobb for lunch with no great expectations but hey it was very nice , friendly staff we had scampi and chips and Hake and chips both nicely served up at our table food looked good and tasted even better well above seaside pub fare the white wine a Marlborough was also good served at the right temperature in a decent glass, and finally to top it off the coffee was also good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars not 5 is the complete lack of views from inside the pub , I believe you can see out of two of the window on the sea side. Good job worth a visit

The only positive when visiting this pub was the lovely staff. When we arrived there were numerous dirty tables . The table was cleared it wasn’t wiped . Food is obviously frozen. The vegetables were hardly cooked and drenched in strong garlic butter . The fish cakes were not as described. If we were so hungry we would have sent it back. We isn’t our 1st time to this pub but truly disappointed at how run down it has become.

We stayed for 3 nights in the deluxe king room with the sea view. We had a very warm welcome on arrival, and the gent kindly carried our suitcases up to our room. I knew the room was going to be nice from looking at pictures, but it absolutely blew us away when we saw the view out the window. The room is decorated so beautifully and had everything we needed and more. The bed is so comfortable! Breakfast was also delicious and staff are very friendly and helpful. I thought there would possibly be noise at night due to the rooms being above the pub and next to the terrace, but there was no noise at all! Due to where the pub is situated, absolutely everything is a matter of minutes walk, we did not drive anywhere during our stay. We will definitely be returning, thank you pilot boat for a faultless stay.

Our second visit while visiting the area. The first being an excellent Xmas dinner. Booked in line but had to ring to confirm as did receive a confirmation of my booking A good menu with a choice of burgers, pizzas, pasta and daily specials. The staff were very good a special mention to Alanna who was excellent. We thought the food was a little slow to arrive with a considerable wait for both starters and mains and when they eventually did arrive my pasta was just better than warm on top and wife's pizza was only just warm, which was a little disappointing. But both were tasty. Despite this the next time we visit the area we would certainly consider eating here again.

The food was delicious (we had a pizza and calamari with Greek potatoes) and it arrived very quickly. The interior is also lovely and just across the road from the museum which was perfect for us.

Popped down the Lyme Regis, and thought I'd try here. The place is lovely, it's just across the road from the sea front, the food was nice, but a bit on the pricey side, and there isn't a huge selection on the menu, and not much for vegetarians. The staff were nice and welcoming. They are dog friendly but only in the first part of the building, so at busier times/high season this could prove problematic as there aren't many low tables. I would visit here again even if it's just for a drink.

Fantastic meal yesterday. We were struggling as a party of 13 of us to find somewhere on a busy Sunday. From a chef and catering business owner I have to say that the food was fabulous. Didn’t wait too long, and everyone’s dishes were of great quality. My steak was so well seasoned.

Had a meal here for a birthday, have been before when it was quiet and was impressed with the food, I must say the food is delicious! Had the catch of the day, sea bass and it was very good, only let down was the service, had to ask for every course and not very attentive, could see all the courses under heat lamps waiting to be served, a shame because the chefs are cooking up some magic behind the curtain, we’ll be back and hopefully everything is bought up to the standard of the lovely food, something currently reflected in the prices but not entirely fulfilled by the dining experience, terrific location and decoration too! 4*

We recently had our wedding meal and evening reception at the Pilot Boat and I cannot recommend highly enough! The food was exceptional (lots of praise from guests!), the service was great and communication with Monique was brilliant, from our first enquiry up to the wedding day. It was the perfect venue for a seaside wedding - we were seated in the restaurant between lunch and dinner service but it didn't feel rushed at all. We hired a marquee from Taddle Farm Tents, which gave us shelter on the roof terrace for the evening. It was a great intimate space for speeches, cake, and dancing (highly recommended a silent disco too!) Kelsey and Josie were fab on the bar in the evening. We ended the night with a very comfortable stay in one of the pub's hotel rooms with a sea view. Thank you so much to the team!

We had a great dinner here! Recommend the burger and the pesto pasta. While you don’t have a view of the harbor, the interior is nice and the staff was welcoming and friendly.

Nestled in the picturesque walled town of Wareham, The Italian Kitchen offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views of the River Frome and the enchanting Purbeck hills. This charming restaurant beautifully marries traditional Italian flavors with modern culinary innovations, resulting in a menu that features an array of mouthwatering pasta and pizza dishes. Whether you're indulging in seafood linguine or savoring a rich spaghetti carbonara, each bite is sure to elevate your spirits.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch today for Mother’s Day, our first visit to this restaurant and won’t be the last. Wonderful attentive staff, goats cheese and butternut squash pizzas were lovely as were the tiramisu desserts and general dining experience was excellent. Thank you for the little treat after our meal, a delicious cupcake and Mother’s Day card to take away in a beautiful gift box, that was a nice touch. ☺️

My husband and I are doing a London > Paris > UK trip. We are nearing the end and this was THE BEST meal we have had on our entire trip! We ordered the two seasonal items; pork pappardelle and pork and chicken pizza 🤌🏼 I wish this place was in the US. So flavorful and you could tell they use high quality ingredients. We are here for Tiger Day so I’d highly recommend stopping here if you are in town. Thank you for the tasty meal, wine and great service! After our meal we sat out near the water to watch the ducks. Great time together.

A really nice little Italian restaurant near the quay on the river in Wareham. We went here for an anniversary meal and we're not disappointed. Very nice young staff team were very attentive. The menu was unusual, creative and tasty. Cocktails were nice and we had an exceptional bottle of wine which was not overpriced. Multo bene!

We drove up from Ipswich and are staying in a holiday park nearby so thought we’d look for a nice restaurant, me and my partner love italian so googled italian food nearby and this is the first that came up, and i’m soooo glad it did! This place serves the most beautiful food, the tiramisu was the best we have ever had. Service was so quick and our waitress Ellie was so lovely. You get complimentary bread which was beautiful, very big portions for the price too! We couldn’t believe how much food and drinks we got for £73. If we didn’t live 5 hours away we would be back and i’m devastated i can’t come back. The restaurant is small and cozy by the lake. The man who i think is the owner/manager (sorry if im wrong) visibly treats his staff with respect and was helping to clear tables, as any boss should! What a lovely place!

The food is excellent and beautifully presented, service by the friendly staff is attentive but unobtrusive. We have only in or near Wareham two but been here twice each time. There are only 3 main dishes to choose from, fish, chicken and superb steak, we have tried them all. Last visit we had the sharing bread platter which is fresh bread from the local bakery with cold meat and olives followed by 5 starters to share, which they offer for £25.

Was a nice place to eat. Seated us without reservations. Staff were lovely... So good we are there twice! Had the Korean chicken 1st night... Was yum... 2nd night I had the Thai Yellow Fish Curry... Also very good! Utopian lager was good... Highly recommended!

Great food and a great atmosphere. We had a lovely meal for six tonight and the menu was full of fab options. I had some calamari for starters and a burger for mains. The chips were delicious and the portions very generous - I almost wished they offered half sizes! We were sat in one of the back booths but still had an amazing view of the sea, made better by the sliding windows being left open. We could watch the eclipse from the warmth inside! Definitely recommend as there’s something for everyone on the menu and it has a great vibe inside.

When we walked in we got a seat very fast (5ppl) and it looked very busy. Staff are fabulous. The food looked great and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious. This is the type of place I highly recommend for family friends and social gatherings. Even meetings. This place has inside and outside. Space is between tables is great. NOTE: they don't have WiFi The price is a bit dear... however I have no regrets. I'll happily come again and recommend for anyone! Will post a tik tok review later on

French restaurant
Restaurant Les Enfants Terribles is a charming and unpretentious bistro in Weymouth, specializing in fresh seafood with a French influence. The head chef, Eric Tavernier, brings 30 years of culinary experience to the table, ensuring expertly cooked and beautifully presented dishes. The menu features locally caught fish and seasonal selections like fresh oysters from Poole and dressed crab from Portland.
Fantastic food by chef Eric who took the time to connect with us. Wonderful experience!
Teodora T — Google review
All the food were fine and delicious, the signature fish was delicious (except the chips are bit soft and wet), but we waited for a very long time. That was 30 mins for starter and 1 hour between starter and main course. Obviously there wasn’t enough staff and the restaurant could potentially go to a higher level from better staffing-system. However the chef and the waitress were both lovely people. And was still happy to had our dinner here.
NA F — Google review
The service was particularly slow this evening, we understand it is cooked from fresh however we were there for 3 1/2 hours from starter to main. The seafood platter for £160 was okay. I think abit extortionate for the price. The seafood itself is cold and plainly dressed, which is okay, the seafood does the talking itself. The tomato salad was not good. It would’ve been delicious if higher quality tomatoes were used, however these tomatoes were clearly the cheap unripened type, firm and tasteless. Vine ripened tomatoes with more flavour would’ve worked lovely, quality ingredients were needed. For £7 a portion, it should’ve been premium ingredients. The green beans were nice, flavour was nice. Decent portion. For the price, I would expect the best quality and better service. Unfortunately I was not impressed. I frequently visit restaurants in London also and have spent similar £ on meals, I would not return again to this establishment.

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant for her 19th birthday, we aren’t very familiar with Weymouth however saw this restaurant was incredibly well rated on trip advisor so decided to take book a table! Upon our arrival we were the first seated, but not for long! All of the floor staff were friendly and attentive, Kirsty was very welcoming and took our drinks order promptly, the house white wine was really lovely and very reasonably priced for the taste I thought! Chef Eric then came over and explained the specials for the night, although we had pre ordered and were happy with our choices it was nice to have the option! Before our starters arrived we were given two glasses of bubbly as a gesture for the birthday girl and chef even sang happy birthday in French which we both agreed was very sweet and really made us feel special! I ordered the carrot and butternut squash veloute which was fantastic, perfectly seasoned and salted to contrast the natural sweetness of the ingredients, topped with a perfectly poached egg! My girlfriend had the terrine which she really enjoyed, the mushroom ketchup was a fantastic addition to the terrine! We then both enjoyed the dressed crab with fries for our main course, it was garnished with two different caviars which were rich and complimented the fresh crab perfectly, it came with two huge portions of home made fries and tomato salad which we both agreed was really tasty and brought the dish together fantastically! Overall it was a really special experience, very personal and friendly service, delicious food served in a quaint restaurant with fantastic atmosphere, we will be recommending and we will be back!

First visit to this restaurant. Service was a bit slow, but it does mention this on the menu. My pork belly was off the menu but was replaced with pork cheek WOW! It was wonderful. Restaurant is in a lovely part of Waymouth with lots going on around. Can get very expensive if your ordering starters mains and pudding so check menu online before you go will visit again when next in Weymouth.
Romeo F — Google review
My boyfriend and I visited Weymouth for the first time and I was told the seafood here was particularly good so we ordered the seafood platter for two. It was an amazing first experience of many things for him: oysters, crab, and lobster. We both really enjoyed it, and we were the only people in the restaurant at the time so we also appreciated the chill ambience and the very friendly service. The only thing that I will say is that it was a LOT of food. This is great as it was really good value for money but unfortunately it meant that a significant portion of our meal was discarded so it depends on your priorities!
Chickbea — Google review
Would like to give this a better review, but considering the overall price and the fact we were asked by the restaurant to choose from the menu ten days before we actually visited, I simply cannot give this any more than three stars. I believe that one of the kitchen staff did not turn up on the night we visited, so they were short staffed, with just one young lad serving the whole restaurant and Chef Eric helping at times. We were not asked if we would like any drinks on our arrival and after waiting at our tables for over ten minutes, we politely asked the waiter if we could be served some drinks who then took our orders, however another ten minutes went by and none of us had received our drinks. By now our starters had arrived, and the food was nice, and perfectly pleasant, but nothing more than that sadly. I had ordered six snails as a starter and unfortunately two of the snail shells were completely empty. For the price paid, this really should have been spotted by the chef. Our drinks finally arrived after everybody had finished their starters. The main meals we ordered were decent and the crab I ordered was cooked very well. However we had to ask the overworked and clearly inexperienced waiter if we could order another drink two more times, and still nothing had arrived. By now after being in the restaurant for over 90 minutes we just gave up. Two hours after originally arriving, Chef Eric came over to our table and then chatted to us about some of the desserts and wines on offer, and for the first time in the evening, it actually felt like we were valued or made welcome, and considering our table of six spent nearly £350, I dont think this is good enough personally, not that it should matter how much you have spent. I think the food here is good, and I appreciate that every business has its bad days, but the whole experience was a bit of an anti climax, it felt unprofessional, the front of house was poorly run and the general ambience of the restaurant suffered because of this. I also overheard Chef Eric get into a dispute outside with a group of customers when he asked them their opinions on their experience, and they were not particularly satisfied either. If you pay higher end prices in a restaurant you expect quality food, drink, service and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the only thing that resembled any quality that night was the food. I would try here again to see if it was just a bad night for them, but I have eaten at many other similar priced restaurants over the years and the vast majority have been better.

As we live over 100miles away we only visit about two or three times a year but yet again Chef Eric and his staff have scored another full marks review. We had the squid to start with followed by the prawns for my wife and the mussels for myself. Dessert was the Honey Cake and a double cream with small berries accompanying it. All the dishes were absolutely superb as was the restaurant’s own bottle of Sauvignon Pays D’Oc. So good that we bought a bottle to take home. My wife who is one of the fussiest eaters in the World went to tell Chef Eric at the end that it was one of the best meals she’s ever had and we’ve eaten at many Michelin Star restaurants. 10/10 for the food, the staff and the ambience. No wonder we travel so far just to eat here and no wonder it wins best restaurant awards.

Service wasn't good. Menu looked small and a bit expensive. Also, the descriptions were like "mussel in sauce" and I was like "is that just 1 mussle" and the staff said she would check. She came back and said you get 3 muscles. So I ordered the prawns. Loads of prawns and really good. Meanwhile, the lady in the next table had the "mussel" and had a whole bowl full! 😆 Main course was lovely. Slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Friendly, if not competent. I'd go again.

The Clockspire Restaurant, located in Millborne Port near Dorset and Wiltshire, is housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century schoolhouse with towering ceilings and natural oak beams. The restaurant offers a charming and elegant atmosphere, where seasonal and ingredient-led dishes take center stage. Chef Luke Sutton curates a British menu with modern twists on traditional dishes such as Carver duck breast with pickled blackberries and Dorset white crab crumpets.
We've have been meaning to eat at the Clockspire for a while but timings had conspired against us. Whilst staying in Shaftesbury, I had secretly booked us in as a surprise for my husband. We were treated to excellence in food, service and location. On arrival we were taken up to the bar to enjoy drinks and to select our food. Then we went down to our table. We enjoyed every delectable mouthful of each of our three courses. There were layers of tastes to bombard our taste buds! Just superb!

I booked a cocktail masterclass for lunchtime on Saturday. Just wow! We had a great time, mixing, shaking, chatting and learning (plus lots of drinking!) That evening we had fantastic meal for my husband’s birthday. I pre booked a table for a Saturday evening, which I would recommend as they are busy. The service was wonderful, great food, beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Every course was cooked to perfection. They have a great wine list - you can order by the glass or a bottle of your choice. If you are after pre dinner drinks, I would definitely suggest you arrive early and check out the bar upstairs and have one of their wonderful cocktails or a glass of Langham English sparking wine - all served by Matt (a very knowledgeable guy when it comes to cocktails!) Thanks to all the team.

If you are in the area, you absolutely must visit The Clockspire! Staff was great and accommodating about allergies. The food was unique, flavorful, and well presented. We booked this is as a celebration birthday meal. We booked via the phone, and they informed me that a Jazz band would be playing. On arrival we were shown to the bar which is upstairs. While we were looking at the menu we had a very nice cocktail or two. This place is relaxed and there was no rush for us to go down to our table. I chose the Cured cod, chicken for main and cherry sorbet for dessert. The cocktail and wine list is full of great choices. The Jazz band were excellent. The food was served with decadence and attention to detail. We had such a relaxing time we rung our taxi and asked for a latter pick up. The great food, service, and drink menus are not cheap but not OTT like Lympstone Manor, whos food and wine menus and service are as good as the Clockspire. We would certainly recommend this resterunt and go again.

This place was honestly stunning. We were sat on the only big table in the place, so already felt special, but the service was sublime - extremely attentive, but at the same time relaxed and fun. As the food came out, we were talked through the dishes and different ingredients (as a lot of them were foraged by the staff), so unlike any restaurant I've ever been to, you got to interact directly with the chefs, which was great, especially as they were all so nice. The food itself was utterly delicious and had loads of new and unusual (in a good way) flavours. Nothing was not an absolute delight to eat. We were also there for hours, but at no point made to feel rushed. We will definitely come back here. Amazing restaurant.

We dined at Robyn Wylde in December 2021 (just got round to writing the review!) and had the most wonderfully amazing meal. Seasonally, locally sourced ingredients that have been expertly cooked and presented. We had a fantastic meal at Robin Wylde and enjoyed the novelty they bring to cuisine and the area. Expert Tip: request one of the tables against the wall, as there’s no switching once you’ve been assigned a place.

Sublime tasting menu celebrating the agricultural gifts of the region. Perfect rhythm and evolution of flavours. Wine pairing was just right and surprisingly pleasant given the dominance of local English wines. The beetroot soup was particularly sublime, as was the starting sourdough bread with mussel butter. Great location. I didn't eat but the food looked great and the service was excellent. Fun design as a double decker bus with inside seating or outside right on the beach. Toilets next door and a beautiful view.

Such a good concept, lovely design let down by terrible service from staff who made you feel unwelcome and uninspiring food. I dont often review on google but this place has so much potential I wanted to share to see of owners see it and give it the energy the staff and the place needs.

What a cute little beach walk stop off. Lovely seating under shelter “inside” available as well as outdoor benches with a cute takeaway cubby too. The cups are beautiful as well, such a lovely spot for a coffee. There is a food menu, but we didn’t stop off to eat. Would really recommended popping in if you’re there on a dog walk or just a stroll

Looks like a great spot to enjoy a Sunday afternoon at the beach with a view to bad the security on the door just picks and chooses who they like the look of. A bit concerning watching them let in young girls in full bikini’s but older women and men get stopped not allowed in due to not having a top on? They state they have rules which is fine but it’s not acceptable to pick and choose based on how the person looks. Sort it out!

Great atmosphere. Lovely beach and walks. Nice, friendly, and welcoming locals and local businesses. We travelled from Weymouth and were not disappointed.

Had a hot turmeric latte and a flat white both lush. Awesome set up, wonderful views and excellent staff.

Love this beach, it’s never really busy and it always has a great atmosphere. The only downside is the parking as it is expensive. Food isn’t cheap on the cafe and bar but if you just want a coffee then it’s reasonably priced. No more than a Costa!

Nestled in the picturesque Lyme Regis, The Bay is a charming all-day restaurant and wine bar that boasts stunning views of the harbor. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, it serves up delicious, uncomplicated dishes that are sure to please everyone in your group. Families flock here for affordable seafood options after a day at the beach or exploring the iconic Cobb, made famous by Meryl Streep's film.
We were here on end of May Bank Holiday 2016 and it was very busy. Despite that the staff worked hard and the food was good, especially the fish done in a crunchy gluten free batter. It was busy because of the hot sunshine!

Nice view of the bay but snail paced service. Bring a happy poodle and you'll get served quicker. Other breeds available, but don't know what speed bonus they offer.

Supposedly table service, but apparently no one has informed the staff... On arrival, we stood by the large sign that said "Please wait to be seated" in full view of two members of staff for about five minutes, before a waitress finally wandered in from outside and asked if we were okay. "We're waiting to be seated," we said. "Oh, just sit anywhere," she said. Very helpful sign they have then. Ten minutes later, having been entirely ignored once, we collected a pair of menus from the bar. After five more minutes someone did, blessedly, arrive to take our order and the food itself came in a timely enough fashion. Lunch was comprised of two perfectly serviceable sandwiches, although the "smoked salmon, cream cheese and caramelised red onion" sandwich contained no caramelised red onion. We would have bothered to complain about it, if we'd had the required semaphore flags to communicate with the absent service staff. Another long wait, and we eventually went up to the till and asked for the bill. I will add that throughout all of this, the restaurant was two thirds empty. So, all in all, the food was acceptable, and the staff friendly and polite, but good luck getting their attention.

We went there very recently with friends as I was a big fan of the ' By the Bay' restaurant. For my surprise by the bay is no more but looks like they've changed owner. I asked for sweet potato fries. They came really quickly but they're horrible! Horrible taste, only a tiny amount for a lot of money. Tasted like was old. The new chairs are very uncomfortable. I afraid I am not going there anymore.

The Bay 'pop up' takeaway. Didn't eat in restaurant, used takeaway window. Ordered 6 meals, nothing complicated, guy serving struggled to comprehend the 6 and tried charging for 5, I pointed out I'd ordered 6, eventually worked out what he'd missed, then waited 20 mins to be given 5 meals, had to wait another 10 to be given undercooked fish, waited another 10 while we were cooked a fresh piece, none of the food was particularly nice and I ended up returning most of it. When I spoke to manager he was quick to blame it being busy but it hadn't been when I'd ordered, he said it could be that the thought of being busy had spooked (??) the people serving so they weren't coping under the pressure. I was offered full refund and took the kids elsewhere.

Went here just before Christmas. We had a large breakfast like, it was lovely, the sausages were amazing. We left our child's cutlery at home, but the friendly staff provided us with a plastic baby spoon. Beautiful views across the bay too

We visited on Saturday evening, the service was efficient and food served quickly, we had 2 " fish and Chips", the chips were over cooked, the same for the batter which made the fish dry. Over priced @ £11.50 per portion.

Well what can I say-Booked to eat there as we had liked the restaurant 1 few years ago but didn't realise it had changed hands. The owner was very friendly but he had no previous experience and it showed a mile. Our waitress was quite frankly terrible. Our wine (not a cheap one) was plonked down on the table without even offering to open the bottle and then she brought us champagne glasses!-it was a white wine. We ordered cheese to share for desert and it was brought with no plates or knives. When we asked for these plates were plonked down and a knife with soupspoon wrapped in a napkin came too ! My husband asked why the soup spoon and the waitress replied -"that's how they come" !! It was such a shame as it in a prime setting and could be really lovely. The prices certainly weren't cheap and I think the owner must decide whether he wants a restaurant with properly trained staff or just a beach café. The chef was obviously well-trained and food excellent. Sorry to have had to write such a bad review

Shelley's, formerly known as Billy The Fish, is a hidden gem in Dorchester, Dorset. This cozy restaurant features an open kitchen and chic decor adorned with used nets and pots. It offers a menu featuring local ingredients and caters to various dietary needs including low-fat diets like Slimming World and Weight Watchers. The attentive staff provides top-quality service, making it one of the best restaurants in Weymouth.
My wife and I had a really good experience here for her birthday lunch. All the staff were very pleasant and could not do enough for you. We eat off a tapas menu and everything was cooked to perfection! When we spoke to the owner we found out they also cater for customers on low fat diets eg. Slimming World, Weight Watchers etc. which you do not see very often. Will definitely be going back.

Eat here!!! Fantastic food and service. I've been here many times. Every time has been great. Love the decor, atmosphere and attentive staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend and will be returning asap.

Food was okay, really enjoyed the frogs legs. The pork main I had was two of the fattiest pieces of belly pork I've had but my wife's sea bass was lovely. The liquor coffees were only half full, but they did take one off the bill. The only thing I can really criticise is the bill. Far too pricey. Will I go back. Probably not.

Nice atmosphere and great steak. The chef was nice and engaging as well as the owner. Oh ... did I say my filet with peppercorn sauce and asparagus on top of layered scallop potatoes was great?

Eaten here on a number of occasions - always a top quality service with an even better quality of food. One of the best, if not THE best, restaurants in Weymouth.

Food was perfect as was the atmosphere. Service was a little slow but worth the wait will be visiting again.
