The Bridge Tavern, located in Newcastle upon Tyne, is a charming brewpub nestled between the Quayside and the High Level Bridge. The pub offers a wide selection of artisan ales brewed on-site and serves locally sourced seasonal food. The interior boasts a playful ambiance with influences from hobbit hideaways and Viking shipyards, creating a nerdy paradise for beer enthusiasts. Visitors can indulge in mouthwatering bar bites and savor the renowned 'Pie of the Day.'
Food was great, 2 of us dined and both had Sunday dinners (I had the cauliflower steak). I was maybe a smaller portion than I would serve myself at home but still very nice and all served very hot. We got there at 12:15 and it was very quiet but was getting fuller as we left at about 13:30

What a fantastic roast dinner. One of the best I’ve ever had. Beef cooked to perfection. Giant yorkshires and the red cabbage was something special. The best bit? The doggo din dins. 🐾
Simon L — Google review
Great little gem in the centre of Newcastle. We didn’t pre booked (which I highly recommend), but staff was very accommodating to find us a table. Food was excellent, great selection of local Gin and Ales. No blaring music is great bonus.
Danijela C — Google review
Nice clean pub. Has an upstairs beer garden. Didn’t try the food, but has a good pint of Guinness.

Amazing Steak Ciabatta, lovely staff and great drinks. Most definitely will be back.

Nice mixed sunday roast (beef, Pork, chicken) With mash, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, veggies.. For 20£ - IPA 7£ Ordering at 17h30, it was sad they told us we could not get dessert anymore as the kitchen was closed when we asked for it at 18h20 while noone asked if we wanted some.. Friendly waiters.

Love this place. Lovely food, kind staff and great atmosphere. I always come back. It has two floors, and two terraces. Good for walk-ins and you can also reserve tables. Very recommended
Ch. W — Google review
We went to The Bridge Tavern for lunch with our son. The two bartenders were very friendly and chatted to us. They were helpful in suggesting choices from the menu and yelling us about their experiences of Newcastle. Both of them were exceptional ambassadors for the town and for the pub. The food was lovely.

Pub
Crown Posada is a cozy Victorian pub in Newcastle, boasting original stained glass windows, dark wood paneling, and wall lamps. After a two-year closure, the historic establishment reopened to much acclaim for its rich history and old-fashioned charm. Patrons praise the quality of its beer selection, with one hailing it as home to 'the best pint of Guinness in Newcastle.'
This is my go to bar whenever I visit Newcastle, I love the ceiling and decor. Proper old pub serving great beers. The music is varied and good, there is a recird player on the bar with a load of vinyl..
Andrew V — Google review
This is a great boozer. Some different beers on - good choice and nice atmosphere. If you want an older, proper pub. This is it 🍺
Adam S — Google review
I lived in Newcastle for years and worked just up the road from this pub, it definitely wasn't a place we would have frequented back then, a proper old man's boozer. I'm now that old(ish) man, but the younger me would definitely have been a regular - fantastic selection of beers, including sours and stouts, served in a wafer thin old bar. Quirky. Love it.
Michael D — Google review
One of the oldest pubs in Newcastle. It still maintains the true nature of what a pub should be - good beer, a good crack and welcoming atmosphere. Long may it last!
RiCHARD S — Google review
Visited with my Boyfriend and Brother after visiting the Ouseburn festival (highly recommended) it was very busy but the staff were extremely efficient, helpful and professional plus polite even though they were rushed off their feet and this is a credit to them. I absolutely loved it here, so historical and interesting. So many fascinating pictures, wall hangings and historical pieces from maritime history. The woodwork and ceiling are gorgeous and you can feel the tradition and history. The selection of real ales are superb as are all of the other drinks. Loved the seating in the little alley/outside corridor good for people watching, so quirky and unusual. You can see the original tiles which are stunning. Loved the stained glass. The toilets are clean and well maintained. Would go in alone. Fabulous place to meet up with friends if going along the quayside. Would recommend and definitely will return.
Angela L — Google review
Brilliant old style pub with stacks of character and a great selection of cask ales. Bustling so can be tough to get a seat at times, but friendly customers make it easy to share a table, have some banter and even make new friends. One of the better ale drinkers pubs in Newcastle centre for me. Always worth a visit.

Ok so i never had the food so i am not sure the service is good but not perfect the guy when we walked in was talking to a customer and he was very nice. AND OMG THE AREA IS SO NICE IT HAS OLD ARTWORK AND ONE OF THE WINDOWS IS STAIND THE ATMOSPHERE IS MORE THEN A 5 I WOULD GIVE 10. Overall it is a nice 4.5 not perfect but great

British restaurant
The Broad Chare is a renovated pub in Newcastle upon Tyne, featuring an oak bar, painted brick walls, and stripped wood floors. Under the ownership of former pro-golfer James Close, it has been transformed into a renowned restaurant with rooms. The establishment offers a 15-course menu that includes locally sourced ingredients and dishes like Lindisfarne oyster poached at 62 degrees and pork tacos. The pub seamlessly blends traditional British pub ambiance with innovative culinary experiences.
Hear me out. Get yourself the Halibut and a cherry Liefmans belgian beer and you'll have a great time. The beer was more toward a sparkling wine than a beer and it paired amazingly with the fish which was cooked to perfection. We also had the rump steak burger which was good value for money and again cooked perfectly but nothing amazing. Deserts were also good but not needed. For atmosphere and staff it's an easy5/5.

Little bit of a gushy review but I can hands down say this is my absolute favourite place to eat in town! My partner and I have been frequently in the past few years and have never been served anything less than perfection! Service is absolutely outstanding with knowledgeable and attentive staff and the food……superlative! Fish dishes; fresh, well balanced and delicious and oh my word the lamb sharing main 🤤 just make sure you don’t eat for 24 hours beforehand if you want to finish it (although the staff are very happy to wrap up for you too). All in all, outstanding! Can’t wait for my next outing to The Broad Chare 😊
Catherine M — Google review
Absolutely wonderful experience here. Staff attentive but relaxed, great vibe & fantastic food. High recommend. Wish I’d taken more photos. This was the Butchers Steak in green peppercorn sauce! Delicious 🙏
Annette K — Google review
Absolute best Sunday roast I've had since moving up here a year ago. We ordered the veggie roast which came with bubble and squeak; pork belly and the beef. Everything was flavoured beautifully and the roast potatoes were incredible. Definitely coming back
Becka I — Google review
Pros: Good selection of beers, scotch egg, haggis on toast is an interesting take. Cons: Too pricey for what they offer. Fish cake was too dry, only mediocre at best. "Grilled calf liver" wasn't grilled, but pan fried (though it was delicious, nevertheless). Green leaves in the salad weren't properly washed, you could see the dirt on some of them. Attention to detail was lacking, overall ("luxury soap" bottle in the toilet was refilled with some cheap washing liquid that you can hardly rinse off, etc.). Michelin list brought us here, but I regretted the visit. I hope this was a one off incident, and they are doing better generally.
Ulaş Ö — Google review
Amazing food and service - the bar snacks (monkfish cheeks and cauliflower fritters pictured) and roasts (topside of beef and pork belly) were exceptional!
Jasmine M — Google review
Calf liver was really good and tasty, but the portion size should be bigger for a main. It’s only two slices of liver and the rest is kale and mash.

Pub
The Free Trade Inn is a lively waterside venue that specializes in modern beer and cider, offering a rotating selection from independent brewers. Despite its simple decor of distressed wood and graffiti-covered walls, the pub offers stunning views of the Tyne River and delicious pies sourced from the Amble Butcher. With 13 beer pumps featuring both keg and cask options, including real cider, it's a haven for beer enthusiasts looking to discover new breweries.
A few weeks ago I got a message from Mack 4273 suggesting I try this riverside pub, So here I am. Paulicarus spotted a new brewery for me to tick off, Scottish brewery Newbarns from Leith. A 5.2% smokey brown, only a half as too strong for a pre midday drink. 8 real ales on handpump. Followed with a pint of Cullercoats Jack The Devil 4.5% bitter. An L shaped bar with a good size beer garden to the side and a river view terrace to the front. Thankfully the wind off the Tyne is not as arctic today as it was in South Shields yesterday. A CAMRA 2025 Good Beer Guide entry. Also wins awards for the cider. A fridge full of foreign beers as well. Only a 15 minute walk from the Tyne Bridge along the river. Retains the character of a working mans pub. We found it very friendly.
MADDOGLEP — Google review
What an incredible pub! The Free Trade Inn completely lives up to the hype. The atmosphere is effortlessly cool. it's the perfect, unpretentious place to catch up with friends. We managed to grab a spot in the beer garden and the view of the Tyne Bridge and the Quayside is simply unbeatable. It's the best backdrop for a pint in the entire city. The beer selection is fantastic. A great mix of local ales and interesting craft beers, all kept perfectly. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable when we couldn't decide what to order. Love their selection of Kernal beers on my last visit. A truly special pub that feels authentically Newcastle. We'll be back again.
Balefire L — Google review
Excellent little pub just about 1km walking distance from the millenium bridge. Great beer selections, both traditional beers on cask, plenty of taps and cans/bottles, and some of these might even be slightly hyped ones, so there is a really nice mix of beers available. Not sure if they serve food or not, but during my last visit they had a selection of cheese an there was also a food truck located outside. And the views are really nice looking towards the Millenium Bridge. Highly recommend to visit this place!
Svein B — Google review
The best pub we visited on this 4 day trip to Newcastle. We were visiting the UK for 17 days and took a trip up to Newcastle to visit a cousin. Stewart took us to his favorite spots and this one did not disappoint. I had a third pint of the Overnight Oats (9.5%). It was a small hike to get here from the city centre but the view from the beer garden was amazing. On the must visit again list the next time we are in Newcastle.
David S — Google review
Great beer selection, friendly staff all with some terrific views over the river. Highly recommend.
David B — Google review
This has to be one of the best pubs in the UK, let alone Newcastle. Great location with great outdoors areas for when the weather is nice. Incredible selection of beers on cask, keg and can / bottle. They seem to cover all bases from lighter Pale Ales, to IPAs, stouts and sours. Great service.
Calum R — Google review
Proper pub. Didn't have food but everything else was as it should be. Lived in Newcastle for 52 years, first time ive been.
Andrew D — Google review
Looks can be deceiving. Went to meet up with some friends and what a treat. I would suggest a traditional style pub with little in the ways of airs and graces, just a welcoming atmosphere with a great feeling. Difficult to put your finger in it but the staff were efficient and happy to see me, I think! The juke box was an interesting feature as was the curving bar that displayed a wide offering of cask beers, cider and fruit things! Each to their own. Dog friendly with a constant number of humans at the bar I would suggest waiting for the pub quiz on the Wednesday. Venturing outside 2 very pleasant seating areas with the one across the road offering one of the best views down the quayside in to the city. Top photo opportunity when the sun was setting over the town. To top off the night there was a mobile pizza van from Scream for Pizza and whilst I did not partake this evening they my fav with the associated restaurant up there. Appears that they offer a beer and pizza combo, match made in heaven. A definite revisit soon with some more friends.

Pub
Located on the banks of the Tyne River in Newcastle upon Tyne, The Tyne Bar is a cozy pub offering a wide selection of ales and a vibrant atmosphere. The pub features a free jukebox, live music, and a garden sheltered by the arch of a road bridge. It's an iconic establishment in the city with picturesque views of the river. The outdoor space is popular when the sun shines, and it champions independent beer.
Great bar with a fantastic outdoor space, perfect for sunny days. There is plenty of seating and a good atmosphere. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the service is quick. Would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a chilled outdoor drinking spot. Five stars! Their house pale is always the best, but they also bring ales from local breweries. I feel like their Blue moon has a taste.
Rajasekar S — Google review
Love this place and its location. Indoors quite traditional britisk pub. Decent selection of taps including cask. Large outdoor seating area, so specially on a nice sunny day its really nice here. They do serve food here. I had a german hot dog which was quite nice.
Svein B — Google review
Food great. The one thing that I can't look past is that when it's busy they don't just let people wait at the bar in conventional fashion. We need to stop normalising single file queues (which often stretch way out of the door at busy times). Bars are designed as such that people stand along the length of it. If I want a drink I shouldn't have to leave the building.
Chris D — Google review
I was introduced to the Tyne Bar in 2018. It was good to be back! Authentic is overused but this place is genuinely the real deal. Situated between the canal and the River Tyne, almost a hidden gem, but with plenty of locals to feed the atmosphere. We sat outside with drinks and home made brownies. Highly recommended 👏👏👏
Jon O — Google review
Great place to eat and drink with a lovely view from the beer gardens. A group of us came by on Saturday and they kindly served us right away and got us fed quickly. Would definitely recommend 👌🏼
Amy K — Google review
Check out this absolute beauty of a pint! Staff are friendly and efficient. Pub is fantastic. Top drawer boozer.
Magpie H — Google review
I sat outside on a quiet early autumn afternoon in the sun. Really relaxing, with a gentle breeze. The beer is very well kept and I couldn't fault the selection. Staff were excellent. Very welcoming and helpful. Not expensive and close enough to the centre to be a pleasant walk along the river. Definitely recommend here and will be back.

Visited Wednesday. Basking in the sun in the beer garden to the side, friendly staff. Very quick to get served as was very busy due to sunny rare days we having as of late. Cider never tasted so good. Big shout out goes to the young lass with dark hair who grafted the delivery that afternoon like a machine in the heat then offered the two delivery blokes a drink!! ☀️🍻

Old George Inn, a 16th-century pub located in the alleyways of Bigg Market near Illegitimate and Market Shaker, is steeped in history and charm. It boasts an extensive beer garden with outside television screens for sports events and a cozy interior with open fires and live music. This historic venue, dating back to 1582, is known as one of the oldest pubs in Newcastle and is rumored to have been frequented by King Charles I.
What an amazing place. Our last full day in Newcastle. Had to make sure we visited this pub. It did not disappoint. So much history.
Marcel L — Google review
Not one of my favourites but is decent. I’ve only ever had food from here once, it was just alright. I do like the layout of the building and particularly appreciate its history. Not sat in the beer garden yet but seems like a pretty good atmosphere.

Best lunch deal ive ever had. I asked if it was a smaller portion because it was so cheap and it wasnt! I had the chicken tikka flatbread with chips and it was so tasty. Added to that was very friendly service from Beth who is just a delight and the chef even checked in on us...a lovely man. Cant recommend enough. We will be back!
Kathryn B — Google review
I always look for the oldest pub wherever I am, this is it in Newcastle. But it is a party pub. Everyone was having a great time, but this is not a “sit in the corner in a quiet old pub” vibe.
Adam S — Google review
This review is about the service alone, me and my partner had made a mistake with our food order. Completely our fault! But our lovely waitress, Beth, corrected it for us. She was beyond lovely, really pleasant to be served by her. Would definitely recommend visiting. For the lovely food and atmosphere but more importantly for the brilliant service from all staff, but especially Beth. Thank you again.

We booked a two person bottomless - unfortunately it was slightly last minute but the two people who accommodated us (I sadly didn’t get their names but one was blonde and alternative and the other was a tall brown haired guy) were both so sweet and made sure we got our moneys worth! The drinks were lovely (I was allowed to try an aperol spritz for the first time but also was allowed to get another drink at the same time in case i didn’t like it) and the food was amazing. Will and can’t wait go again :).

Came today for a bottomless brunch for my birthday. Drinks and food lovely but even better than that all of the staff were so lovely, friendly and attentive. Beth and Hendrick mainly served us and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a good time, What a credit to the venue your staff are. Would highly recommend and will be back. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

We booked for a student brunch. Nowhere were we told that it was 1.5hrs and not 2hrs like it is advertised. Drinks took 10 mins to be orders from when we asked to order. We were aware of the £5pp deposit which we paid but then £360 was requested via email without any prior communication. Have had much better bottomless brunches elsewhere in Newcastle.

Redhouse is a traditional pub housed in a grand Grade II listed building, offering a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with its exposed beams, dark wood interiors, and warm lighting. The pub takes pride in serving a wide selection of quality ales, including limited edition brews. However, the real highlight is their menu of locally sourced handmade pies, made with the finest ingredients from award-winning butchers.
What a beautiful place the Redhouse is, and what must be the best Pie i have tasted in a long time with amazing mash potatoes, roasties and minted peas. Just so beautiful it’s one on my fav list next time I come to Newcastle. There is an excellent vibe also in the pub along with a great playlist. We sat and played cards, enjoyed the food and drink and we truly relaxed in this fine establishment, thank you kindly to those who served us, such a great place.
Michael J — Google review
Went here a few years ago & glad to see it's still going strong. Well worth visiting if you like an oldy worldy pub with nooks & crannies. Ideally sit snugly by the window on a winter's day & watch the world go by but also a good suntrap outside on a summer's day. Good choice of well kept ale from around the country. The letdown was the food, the cheese & onion pie was ok but the peas, buttery mash & cheese sauce were incredibly bland.
John H — Google review
Went on a Monday around 2pm, the pub is in a fabulous location, it's obviously extremely old but immaculately clean. Great decor and staff were super helpful and friendly but natural not annoyingly in your face. We tried the legendary pies and all I can say is WOW, absolutely delicious. I had mince and onion with cheesy mash and minted peas and my partner had steak and ale with the same sides. It was flawless, easily the best pie I've ever had. The mash gravy and peas were perfect, the portions large and very recently priced. It was so nice we kept eating well after we were full and ended up writing off the rest of the day because our greedy selves were waddling around uncomfortable and far too full. I strongly recommend if you decide to try it- eat AFTER you've done everything else you need to do for the day because this was the first time in my life I had a hangover from a pie, in a good way, but still! I will definitely go back for more pie induced coma action because it was totally worth it.

Super ambiance The pie(s) are great. The meal was more then enough, but you just can't stop eating. Of course accompanied with a great glass of beer. Just order at the bar, sit at your table, relax and enjoy.

Cannot rate this place highly enough! The atmosphere differs depending on what part you're in; my favourite is the back room with the wall of barrels and the dusky lighting. The pies/food are insanely delicious and I always look forward to them. Plus, we booked a table for my engagement and the staff were magnificent, properly looked after us and made us feel so special. Warm, friendly, good food, and good vibes. If you get a chance to stop in, you won't regret it. 10/10 for everyone there!

If you want to taste real pies this is the place. You have a wide variety of pies which you can combine as you wish with your potatoes, peas and sauce. Recommended place in Newcastle. We were during a business trip and we landed here by chance and it was a pleasant surprise, so we will come back.

Delicious pies! I even went out of the way on my way back to the Newcastle Airport to visit the Redhouse for a second time. There's a variety of different pies you can choose from, and then you can pair it with a choice of potato, peas and liquors. I absolutely loved the confit garlic mash with mushy peas. The creamy parsley sauce was great as well. Staff is friendly, and the place itself is a pub, so it's a cozy place by default.

What a wonderful pub restaurant! Stumbled across it when trying to find a good restaurant with a friend who has to have potatoes!! We loved this place. We managed to get a seat down the back in a quiet room, a lovely change from Spoons the night before (mad!). We had a pie each. Me and my friend had the steak and ale pie and loved it. My other friend had the lamb pie and loved it too. We had mashed potato, roast potatoes and chips, respectively. Thankfully they do proper ordinary peas, not just this mushy pea business! The staff were very down to earth and friendly, as you'd expect in this wonderful city. Really good value for money I think as well. So glad that we found this superb restaurant so close to our hotel. Very highly recommended and I plan to return when next in the city!

The Hancock is a spacious pub known for its popularity among students and features a heated beer garden, pool tables, sofas, and TVs airing live sports. Adjacent to the pub is the Great North Museum: Hancock, which showcases an array of collections from various museums including interactive displays of Hadrian's Wall, diverse exhibits on animal and plant kingdoms, ancient Greek artifacts, Egyptian mummies, a planetarium, and a life-size T-Rex skeleton.
Lovely sunny day and a great beer garden to spend it in. Service from our bartender Amber was great and really friendly. Would definitely recommend if you’re in town and fancy a pint

Quite fond of The Hancock, pretty reliable. Decent interior, large screens, clean and tidy, space is well utilised in terms of tables / seats. Great outdoor area too. Menu has a better variety than most I’d say. Quality of food is what you’d expect from pub grub - lowkey, unpretentious, no bells and whistles, simple and consistent. Sometimes that’s all you need, just a chill, laid back meal with a pint. My go-to is the vegetarian sausage, mash, peas and gravy, with a side of the drunken mushrooms, would also recommend the cheese & jalapeño donuts. My only criticism is that the staff aren’t the friendliest. Really generous happy hours and meal days including Mon-Fri, 5-8pm, £3.25 drinks. Mon-Fri, 12-6pm, meal & soft drink £7.75 (can upgrade to alcoholic drink + £1). I also believe students get a 10% discount, and think you get a complimentary drink if you sign up to their newsletter. Certainly more than most places offer, can’t fault it.

My 22 year old friend with a valid student ID was served 2 drinks without being questioned for ID. On ordering her third drink she realised she had forgotten her ID and calmly accepted she could not be served but wished to remain on the property until her friend had finished her drink (4:30pm). She was then followed outside to where we were sitting for the past hour and aggressively asked to leave the premises. Bar staff were rude and shouted at us as we were having a casual drink in the sun. Disappointed with the lack of consistent rules and how staff belittled me and my friend.

Asked at the bar if they’d be able to put commentary on somewhere for the F1, as they have done before. This time we were just flat refused so we left and went to the Junction instead who were much more helpful.

Thank you for the best Guinness in the lovely out door area. The lovely bar maid saved my bacon by picking up my wallet that I had dropped. We are so very grateful for you kindness and honesty. We will definitely be visiting again! Highly recommended x

We hired the upstairs part of the Hancock pub for my stepson's 21st party , from the first contact to booking the room to us all leaving just after 11pm the staff & manager made sure everything was done to perfection , if possible I would give 100/10 to the whole team who run this amazing establishment. The Hancock is a great place to come for a nice drink & food , the staff are friendly & helpful & ready to make sure your time there is the best ever , all the catering is done the kitchen staff & it shows just how good pub food should be , when the food was being served you could see it had been thought out so well & we were all extremely pleased with every aspect of the buffet from presentation to taste . The atmosphere inside is a very relaxed one & the whole place is a credit to all who work there to make it the success it is . I would have no doubts about booking the Hancock again & would recommend it to anyone who asked what it is like , the biggest of thank you's to all the staff there who made it a great night for us all ♥️♥️♥️♥️🤘🤘🤘🤘🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

If you're a football fan in Newcastle looking for a solid place to catch the game, The Hancock is a brilliant shout. We watched the Leeds v Newcastle match here, and the atmosphere was spot on, lively, passionate, but still friendly. Plenty of big screens around the pub, so no matter where you're sat, you've got a clear view of the action. The crowd was buzzing, especially with the local Newcastle fans in full voice, but there was a mix of supporters and no hassle, jus good banter and shared love of the game. Drinks were well-priced (which is always appreciated), and service at the bar was quick even though the place was packed for the match. We stayed for a couple of hours after full-time and the vibe remained chilled and welcoming. If you’re in the Toon and want to watch live sport with a proper pub crowd, The Hancock is definitely worth checking out. We'll be back for the next match!

Wonderful quaint little spot, comfortably nestled just outside the the city centre. A hidden gem if you will. I was astounded by the vibrant atmosphere and pleasant ambiance effervescing from the very foundations of this establishment. The pizza was imaaculate, the pints were cold and the vibe was well and truly lit my dudes. Clinique's service was second to none, she really pulled out all the stops with the food recommendations and I left with a full stomach and a cheeky buzz on. My word, time to sample the neighbouring museum!

Amazing food every time! The service is brilliant too. We always go for Sunday lunch and it’s just cooked perfectly. Very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food.

Having visited here years ago and being impressed, I have been patiently waiting to return. We visited during restaurant week and the place seemed quite full. We both opted for 3 courses at £25. We arrived at 6 ordering food and drinks not long after. Starters did arrive promptly and were lovely. Mains took a while longer, with people receiving food that was ordered after us. I looked around and the bar man peered back looking at our table. He came over and asked if we were still waiting for our mains. After a few minutes he appeared with them, hot and fresh, now 7.15. overall the food was great and I'd go back, service was good apart from the wait.

Fabulous couple of meals here with friends and pup in tow. Really well looked after, great food and the dog got a lot of love 🐩🥰 Food is a mix of nicely executed Asian influence dishes and traditional British favourites. The tempura prawns are huge, juicy and crispy, with a very moreish noodle salad. The burger a decent size with goodb"normal"fries and the Sunday roasts really really generous portions with loads of gravy. Loved this place and the staff!

Went for date night on restaurant week. Great looking venue inside. The staff are top notch, great service. Had a couple of lovely pints and wine. Unfortunately the burger ordered was not up to scratch. The fries could have been a lot more crispy and the burger was overcooked and dry. The sea bass ordered was gorgeous with the saffron mash.

It was my husbands birthday so I went online and seen reviews, so decided to go rang up to book, food was amazing friendly staff, then I got bill at end, witch they had put extra charges on. I asked them to clarify this , which they did and it was wrong, then I realised it was wrong. I payed for it. My husband got a 2 course for £20 and I got a three course for £23 then there was an extra charge of £5 for my beef and an extra charge of £5 for my prawns so watch out for the hidden air charges your not just paying for a 3 or two course meal this left a bitter taste prices should be more clear. Sorry I won’t return because of this…. Don’t mind paying for good food but I felt as if your charges where hidden on menu most be more clearer for customer

Restaurant
City Tavern is a charming pub located in Newcastle with a striking Tudor facade and cozy interiors featuring bookshelves, chandeliers, and exposed brickwork. The pub offers award-winning ales and a hearty food menu in a laid-back atmosphere that allows visitors to escape the city's hustle and bustle. With its warm lighting and welcoming staff, patrons are encouraged to relax and enjoy their drinks and meals at their own pace.
Arrived for Breakfast and the bar is exceptionally clean, Aaron greeted me politely and with an energy that is rare in a bar at opening. The breakfast options are varied and include Vegan, Veggie and the full carnivore like myself. Food was served quickly, clearly cooked fresh and was of good quality (though the sausages were a little plain for my taste, so I did use some of their Stokes Brown sauce). Charging points in most booths for your phone or laptop. Overall a great place in town to have a traditional breakfast in comfort.

We had a lovely time at City Tavern. We had a yummy lunch, including gluten free beer on tap. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian food options available. The vibe inside was lovely and the staff were really really nice and very attentive!! There was free wifi, free charging ports and very comfy chairs. An added bonus is that they show movies for free at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm everyday on their giant outdoor screen!! Such a great vibe, definitely recommend as a stop in during a day in Newcastle.

We had the upstairs for a private event, but the whole of the tavern was gorgeous and fun! The decor was neat, the drinks fresh, and the service impeccable. Fair warning - they aren't joking about the 'giant' Yorkshire pudding, it spans a huge dinner plate!

Absolutely fantastic venue. I organised a scavenger hunt at work and wanted to hide some challenges round the pub. I didn't call ahead, just turned up on the day, hoping they would accommodate. The manager on shift helped out and even joined in by hiding a challenge himself. Super service!!!! I have been here a number of times now, and enjoyed every visit.

Plenty of choice for meat eaters and vegan options. Portions huge!! Staff were lovely and friendly, atmosphere was great too. Decor was fab, so well done. Definitely recommend to anyone. Dog friendly 😌 Gluten free menu 👌

Two meals and two drinks for just over £40 about the going rate now for everywhere. Food was nice (Cajun chicken burger, Slaw, Chips) wasn't much choice from the menu which is sometimes a good thing, veggie options are limited. Service was quick and efficient, still not sure why they have a perspex cover infront of the till which make communication with staff at the bar weird. Someone at the bar asked for Crayon's and to my surprise behind me there was what appeared to be a kids bday party?? it's a pub not a crèche what's wrong this these People? at one point some parents left their kids to leave the pub?? Mind boggles. It's definitely something I've noticed eating out in town these days people are treating pubs as playgrounds for their kids.
CushdelaCush — Google review
Avoid, been for lunch today and spent £47 on 2 sandwiches with chips and 2 drinks. Beef was tough with watery gravy and the fish fingers sandwich had next to no fish in it just batter, definitely not homemade bread and they even managed to make the chips bland. The waiter avoided us once the food arrived and we noticed they only cleared plates once customers had left. Obviously not wanting to hear complaints. As we left 3 lady's were sending back their meals, really wished we had done the same. Expensive drinks and rubbish food would not recommend.

This hidden gem is popular among locals and visitors alike, especially for its Sunday lunch which receives high praise from customers. To ensure a seat at this bustling establishment, it is recommended to book in advance either online or by phone.
As a vegan I was happy to see they do a full green vegetarian breakfast. I ordered this without the fried eggs to make it vegan. The menu in general is vegetarian friendly. Most dishes can be made vegan. It’s a shame they don’t serve any alternative milks. But, then again it’s a pub, and not a cafe. The service was good. Food came out very quickly which was nice as we were hungry! I would definitely come back again.

So disappointed!! We were over from Ireland & I picked this restaurant to celebrate my husbands big birthday. I emailed & made reservation in advance for 10 of us for 6:30pm on a Sunday. Reservation was confirmed & I was told we had the table for 2 hours. Reason why I picked this restaurant was because it served Sunday roasts. We arrived at 6;30 & told kitchen closed at 7 so hurry up & put orders in before it closed including desserts or we wouldn’t get anything! We had to write orders down ourselves & go to till with them (I wasn’t aware of this practice) Then told nearly everything we were ordering was not available-No roasts whatsoever-chicken, beef, turkey? No fish, no shepherds pie! Basically nothing left on menu! Then no desserts left either. Food was just mediocre. While the wee girl who was serving bar & food tried her best, the service & whole experience was bad. What I had hoped to be a special birthday dinner with family & friends was an awful experience.

Regular meet-up place as food and service is always good. Not into sports personally so I just zone out the large screen tv's..too busy chatting, eating and drinking. I don't usually leave a review, but the staff members Chloe and Callie were especially helpful after I'd ordered my meal and forgot to mention I was vegetarian. My all day breakfast was taken away and a vegetarian one arrived. I apologied as it was my fault and was prepared to pay again for my meal but was told that was not necessary. As usual, the food was delicious 😋 Thank You.

Alic spotted another Peoples Pub with a Cask Marque. Thus a very good real ale selection. City centre bar vibe rather than a locals vibe. Booth bought me a Cullercoats brewery Grace Darking Blond. Slightly off the main street but definitely worth finding if you like a wide beer selection including quite a few cask. There's a broad mix of good quality craft breweries and the mainstream stuff as well to suit most. A wonderful little find a short distance from the Riverside and Newcastle Central Station. Very busy bar, standing room only for us. Fabulous atmosphere offering a wide range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including some local brews. The toilets are located downstairs. If you like stained glass, do have a look around at the scenes depicting the traditional trade of the area. Directly opposite, you'll find Newcastle Keep and part of the old castle walls, castle well, and the Castle Stairs. I suspect the way to do the stairs is down and not up as we did!!

Wow. PTMY never seems to disappoint. The food is outstanding, service incredible and so attentive. These pictures say it all. Highly recommend we will be back!

Very trendy busy rustic restaurant with attached cool bar. Popped in December enjoyed a drink from huge gin menu and booked Valtentines after spotting restaurant and food being served. Scallops, arincini 5/5, Chateaubriand looked amazing cooked perfect but went cold quick unsure if the board or just every time door opened rush of air hit our area. Manager and staff great and attentive drinks slightly slow but manager chased up. Definitely go back but sit in upper area away from door. Thanks guys.

The toast with the mushrooms was a huge sized portion. The mushroom flavor was creamy and bold. I had the sirloin as the main course and it was paired with red wine. The Black truffle butter sauce was unique and it complimented the steak. The chips were not super starchy, and the crispy texture had you reaching for the next one. The waitresses knew the menu, as I had questions about what to order. Oh and they were friendly.

Great Sunday family early dinner, had Sunday lunch menu. Food was great as well as service. Nice, suitably quiet atmosphere despite being busy, easy to have a conversation. We came with kids, they were also really well catered for. One wheelchair user in our group, the restaurant is nice and spacious, it was easy to move around. There is one section level with the entry (where we were seated) and another section up 2 steps.

Hazel has been absolutely brilliant. Attentive to details but not overstepping. Food was delicious, we chose to go for a rib eye and a fillet steak, both cooked perfectly and accompanied by a lovely red wine. All in all, a great evening. Definitely “pleased to meet you”. First time at Twin Farms, even though I’m a local! So glad we made the decision to go. There were 6 of us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I had the ribeye steak…. Probably the best steak I have had in a long time. Cooked to perfection and a wonderful taste. Triple cooked chips were amazing too! All in all, a lovely experience accompanied by lovely staff and nice atmosphere.

Called in for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon . Service is usually good but staff seemed stressed , not the usual friendly service we know . We ordered 2 fish finger sandwiches at the bar . Although it came quite quickly it looked like it had been thrown together . The stottie it came in was burnt and the fish was under par . No one came back to check our food was good . This is not what we have come to expect here , very disappointing. We left the food pretty much untouched . Shame

The food and drinks are nice. Good place for family and friends gathering. However, if u bring ur furry one with u, u will be sit at the bar, not the Restaurant. We didnt mind, but there was way more crowded. ps. Wont recommend their dog food or drinks.

Went for Sunday lunch at Twin Farms. Relatively good value for money and the food itself was okay, though it could have been a bit warmer. The real let-down was the service – despite plenty of staff on shift, it was hard to get anyone’s attention. At one point there were seven staff standing around talking while we were waiting for a dessert menu, and when we finally got served the attitude didn’t feel particularly interested. A shame, as with better service this could have been a much more enjoyable experience.
Suzanne T — Google review
Cute pub/restaurant, plenty of parking and good service staff. However, food was average and most dishes were little dry.. they were well presented.. unfortunately didn’t taste as good as it looked. Pricing is also at the top end of what pub foods should be and overlapping into decent restaurant territory.
RK G — Google review
Quiet meal during the week, after booking a table online. Food was tasty, (but liver was tastier the first time we went). Desserts were delicious too. Service was quick, both fed and watered within an hour. Atmosphere was quiet, but at least we could hear each other talking. Will be back again.

Was okay sunday lunch- bar staff need to be aware on serving drinks asked for zero sugar coke and my sister ordered normal coke Due to being pregnant diabetic I have to be very careful When the drinks were served I was given full fat coke… Personally I found it very over priced for what it was worth £6 for cauliflower cheese and asked for them to make sure it had plenty of cream and cheese as it helps with the diabetic side of things to be charged £2 for extra cheese ??? Dessert was was very nice but don’t think I could say I’d be coming back any time soon Staff very friendly

This is a great pub with super friendly staff- especially Grace and Katie- and a really buzzing atmosphere. We had a lovely meal where everything was beautifully cooked and very tasty. The hake was deliciously creamy, the harissa lamb bursting with flavour and the falafel burger awesome- credit to chefs Mariana and Darren! To cap it all two excellent classic puds- sticky toffee pudding and apple n rhubarb crumble!

Visited the Brandling Arms in Gosforth this evening and was not disappointed. We went for the 2 course evening menu and I had the baked harissa goats cheese and sourdough. I was told by George that I was the first to try this as it was new on the menu and it was absolutely phenomenal. Marianna and Kenny did an absolutely amazing job. For main I had king prawn and crab linguine and again just amazing. Lewis and George made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond for us- we will definitely be back.

Been wanting to try The Branding Arms for years and years and on Monday me and my wife chose great sunny random day to try. The pub is a bright, warm and very pleasant place to be.The staff we met seemed happy and enjoyed the job. We asked to take photos and they were really cool with it. They also told us the menu will change in 6 weeks time too. We ordered two Signature Burgers. One Rosemary and Parmesan. Cheese cake, brownie. Was a costly adventure but super well worth it. The ingredients were nice and different for the taste. The amount of skin on fries in the cups was plenty and had a lush taste and crisp. The cheese cake stole the show in looks and taste, The cake had shortbread up the side too which I enjoyed. The popcorn and chocolate sauce were so pleasing. My wife had brownie and ice cream which was lovely too. Overall I would say look at the menus and enjoy. Thank you Branding Arms and staff. We will come back down the line in the year as we live in Blyth.

The Victoria Comet is a historic pub located on Neville Street in Newcastle, just across from the city's central train station. With a history dating back to the 1800s, this relaxed chain pub offers a cozy atmosphere and a diverse menu featuring Irish-influenced food and drink options. Whether you're in the mood for traditional favorites or something new like their exclusive Nicholsons Pale Ale, brewed by St Austell Brewery, there's something for everyone.
Chatted happily with the land lord about Get Carter links. Couldn’t have been more welcoming. Poured a lovely pint of Guinness and it really was a treat to stand in the steps of one of my favourite ever actors.

A Cask Marque pub, part of the Nicholson's chain. Good real ale selection plus ciders. Alic chose an 80 shilling from Edinburgh brewery Stewart's. A classic Scottish Heavy. Not on top form. Had the most wonderful time at this charming pub. Migle, Dom, Gabe were absolutely lovely, welcoming us straight away, with great recommendations of food & ales. My partner had the steak & ale pie and it lives up to its gold award. Absolutely amazing. The Nicholson's pale ale was simply exquisite. We left happy (expecially after Dom showed us the right way to the shopping centre 😂). Thank you!

£6.50 for a pint of Madri... enough said! Edit: Thank you for your reply. I had zero issues with the service from the staff. They where fantastic. But like many these days, prices for me are a big factor for return custom. I have edited my review as I agree it came across as a low score. The pub is a lovely old school looking pub with a decent selection to choose from, it's just a little too pricey for me these days.

I was recommended this pub for Sunday roast and was sadly disappointed. Firstly the staff were lovely - Josh in particular was super friendly, accomodating and looked after us well. We ordered two bloody marys which tasted like water with a dash of tomato and pepper, we couldn't finish them. I had the beef roast - the meat was cooked well and juicy although the edge was chewy. The potatoes were very dry and felt like they had been reheated a few times. My friend had the pork roast which was very dry and needed a lot of gravy to compensate. The carrots and Yorkshire puddings were great. For dessert we had the crumble (fine) and chocolate brownie, which wasn't warm and was dry and crumbly. Overall - disappointed with the food but the staff and location are good.

Paulicarus wandered back to the Station and spotted this large pub. Four real ales including a new East Sussex brewery for me. Lakedown from Burwash. A 5.7 % IPA, Harmonium. Only had a half as a result. The rooms revolve around a central bar. There is a private hire room downstairs. Fifty years ago Newcastle was a keg beer desert with over 90% of the pubs Scottish and Newcastle keg only pubs. There were only a handful of real ale outlets. Food served.
MADDOGLEP — Google review
Went into here for a roast dinner Sunday evening around 1700 not sure if they had any food left but when I asked they did so i had a triple meat roast dinner this had beef ( which they asked if wanted it pink or well done, nice touch) I think a quarter of chicken and some pork, there was roasted parsnips, roast potatoes, mash and some other vegetables and a lovely yorkie and some crackling. It was all very nice and tasty, the only little issue I have is it wasn't very hot but given the late hour I choose not to say anything to the staff at the time but other than that I would still recommend eating a roast dinner here. It's close proximity to Newcastle railway station is another plus.

Hers a 4 star nice place well done out, only looked at my balance turns out I've paid £34.14 for 4 estrella and a fruity cider which I think is a bit fruity in itself if I'm honest. But nice place for a half now maybe.

Paulicarus had to walk ten yards to his next pub, a beer Marque pub. Only a couple of real ales on out of four handpumos but St Austell Proper Job Pale Ale is a favourite. Rosie's Pig cider as well. Lots of standing space for busy times and surprisingly large pub with hidden rooms and an upstairs beer terrace. Toilets upstairs. Wife tells me lots of (7) ladies cubicles. Food served.

Booked for a friend’s birthday but waited 40 mins for food, which only arrived after we chased it. My fish and chips were warm (not hot) with soggy batter that was hard to cut (photo attached), and both friends’ meals were cold and sent back. As we were heading to another venue and had already waited long enough, I didn’t send mine back. No apology, no check-in, and overpriced for the quality. Lovely pub, but I won’t be eating here again.

Superb Christmas buffet, cosy pub with friendly staff! I recently hired the space (Tommy Burns room) for a festive family gathering. From the very first email the staff were super friendly and helpful (Tom and Laura) answering all my questions. There were plenty of options on the Christmas buffet menu for meat-eaters and vegans and all absolutely delicious. All who attended were blown away by the food. I will definitely be returning…. the vegan cheesecake was to die for! The pub has a lovely cosy atmosphere and great music. The best Sunday lunches in town. Terrific quality and sufficient enough quantity! Cooked to perfection. I had the pork and the crackling on it was super crispy, big cut of pork and stuffing. Popped in on Wednesday to try the new deep pan detriot pizza and wasn't disappointed. I've given 2 stars for service as unfortunately the table app was down but took payment for my meal. Having to wait up to 5 days to be refunded. The service was also slow, taking 40 minutes for the food and it wasn't busy. The pizzas are a decent size though and only managed half.

It was very busy overall but the bottomless is worth it. We waited 20 minutes after our booking to be seated but the time starts when you receive your first drink. This might sound like a paid review but it isn't. We found this pub on a rainy April afternoon after walking for ages looking for a dog friendly establishment. They welcomed the 10 of us with open arms. It was a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't to busy. Our kids were delighted with the choices they had after one of the staff went to chat to the chef about what they could have. From ordering to having food in front of us room about 20 minutes. Perfect size portions and a fantastic service. The staff went out of the way to show how dog friendly they were, with drinks and treats for both of them. If I had one complaint and its not really a complaint is that the slot machines take away a little of the look to the place. Hope to get back again 1 day and if i could give 6 stars i would. Thank you all.

Was treat to a brewery tour for Father's day and had a great time. The guide was excellent and so knowledgeable about the history of brewing beer. Had 3 beers to taste and they were delicious. Stayed for a meal afterwards and it was lovely. I had an all day brunch which was delicious.

I’ve been here a number of times but never eaten. Firstly, the beer selection is outstanding and is matched by a smart and welcoming service team who were attentive and friendly. I’d never eaten previously, though had always been tempted. This time we tried the Sunday dinner ordering both the lamb and beef brisket. Sadly, the food was cold on both of our plates and lacked the seasoning to make it truly pop. I’d absolutely be back for more of their beer, but would be cautious to eat again. A welcome mainstay in Newcastle.

I’ve been to this pub a few times before and always enjoyed their homemade skin-on chips, so I was looking forward to a good meal. Unfortunately, today’s experience was a huge letdown. I visited with two friends and ordered a burger (£15.50—not exactly cheap). Instead of the homemade chips I’d had before, it arrived with cheap, skinny fries, and the coleslaw listed on the menu was missing. When we asked the waiter about it, he bluntly told us they had run out. Fair enough, but I still paid full price for a meal that wasn’t as advertised. When I raised my concerns, the waiter was clearly annoyed. He offered me a drink (which I declined) and then said I could get a refund for the coleslaw at the bar. When we finished eating and went to the bar, we were told we’d get £1 back. To top it off, the girl at the bar tried to insist she had informed us they had run out of fries—yet none of the three of us had heard that. At least she apologised, which is more than I can say for the waiter. The beef brisket in the Reuben burger was dry, and to make matters worse, we had to wait at least five minutes after getting our food just to receive cutlery. The whole experience felt disorganised and unprofessional. Wouldn’t eat here again, which is a real shame as we had planned to come back for Sunday lunch. Safe to say we’ll be going elsewhere.

Went here to do a brewery tour that had been bought as a gift for my Dad. We were greeted and served our first beer of 6 with the owner (Lee I think?) taking time to understand what beers we liked. This continued throughout our time here and we enjoyed another 5 beers along with a really informative talk about the history of the brewery and local history, learning loads around the processes. We were joined by more family and decided to stay and eat in the kitchen which was located downstairs, having seen the menu and food which all looked really good. We were impressed with the quality of everything ordered and are keen to go back to try the Sunday lunches. With over 20 beers on tap along with a full menu of other drinks, theres something for everyone. The atmosphere is really good and a great use of what is essentially an industrial unit. Great place and will definitely be back for drinks and food.

Little bit on pricey side apart from that perfect. The young tall lad behind the bar knew his stuff. I loved how all the drinks had descriptions above the bar. Cocktails were even on offer and wow the brisket tacos are something else. Small venue outside but beautifully situated

The Percy Arms, located on Percy Street, is a traditional pub that underwent renovations just over a year ago. It offers TV screens for live sports, a pool table, and DJs playing rock and retro sounds. The pub has a lovely beer garden where patrons can enjoy cold pints on hot days. Despite the lack of snacks, the drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is friendly. The location is convenient with easy access to public transportation.
Fantastic evening watching the amazing Russ Tippins Band, playing upstairs. Drinks were very reasonably priced. Service was fast. The only downside was that staff weren't completely aware of gig times.

Finished the night out here. A good real ale outlet showing footie. The Percy family being the local Top Dogs for hundreds of years. The area is packed with bars.

Great pub that we visited for the Rugby League Magic Weekend. So it was very busy but they had plenty of staff on to make sure everyone got served. Great beer garden as well to enjoy the warm weather. Drinks at great prices as well.

Nasty bar staff - barmaid explaining no under 18s allowed and another Rottweiler type joins in snarling no 18 year olds. Not a nice welcome but then what do you expect from a chain pub. Management need to read a similar review from 5 months ago and act not ask reviewers to contact them. There is a way of turning away folk with even a level of curtesy and this wasn’t it, can’t fault the barmaid she was explaining the rules but the other one should have kept out of it

Situated conveniently between Newcastle University campus and St. James Park, it's a popular spot for post-lecture pints. The bar offers an array of good ales and lagers at reasonable prices, especially for students.
Lovely little place we didn’t have any food but the pizzas did look amazing. There is also a range of games to play chess back gammon and books to read. We enjoyed and will be back.

I used to love this place, the staff were nice and had amazing pizza. But their staff members are so miserable, and didn’t call last orders which meant that she effectively told us to finish our drinks within 5 minutes because she wanted to close up. Bit weird. If they still had pizza then it would bump this review up… we ended up going to Gingerinos in Ouseburn, MUCH better.

Awesome, quirky bar, with a great selection of beer and spirits! Very reasonably priced, such as two cocktails for £10, I had an espresso martini which was very tasty. The sort of place you could go for a cozy drink or a more lively session. I noticed they offered food, including a good variety of vegan options. Staff very friendly!

Had the worst experience thanks to this barman and his manager (on the right). There were only five of us in there sitting at the bar, I went to the toilet and on my return the bar man had poured away the half pint I had. I complained and the manager came over to me and basically fronted me, and refused to to pour me back my drink (he could do with sorting out his Halitosis), and so I ended up buying another round. I decided to take a picture of him so as I could put a complaint in and make sure it was directed at the right person. He then called the bouncers who kicked me out for taking a pic! Even worse I couldn't finish that drink either!! Avoid at all costs, I was having a great time in Newcastle on my first visit, but this man should not work in a customer facing role and I spent over £50 in there. Shocking.

As others have said quite expensive in fact it was our last drink of night and the most expensive of all the previous bar we visited, however the young girl who served us was very pleasant but don't think we will be rushing back there.

Came here as part of a stag do. Had only been to two bars prior, but arrived here and it was initially a good laugh.. until however (as seen on cctv) a bouncer put a 60+ year old within our party on the floor and we had to separate the two as it was in an extremely violent manner. While escorting him out ourselves to move on elsewhere and resolve the ‘issue’ a number of us received a punch (myself included, in the jaw and throat by another bouncer, short and bald) leaving us on the door step with the police who had supposedly been involved in a number of incidence here before at this ‘bar/club’. Would not recommend if with a group. Stereo typical bouncers that abuse their position and ruin the experience of what has so far been a great and friendly city. You will only have to see the cctv to know so.

Welcoming bar with a good choice of cask and keg, with the environment feeling inviting and comfortable. It's hard to see the beer choice though if customers sit in front of pumps, needs a list on a blackboard or Untappd perhaps. But, nonetheless, a lovely venue and would recommend.

Just perfect place for great beer at a fair price. I finished my night out at the Head of Steam after visiting a lot of places. Btw atmosphere was really cool. There is a well stocked bar upstairs with craft beer and local microbrewery cask ales which rotate regularly. Downstairs, there is often live music or a club night, especially on weekends. This iconic establishment boasts an inviting roof terrace and is adorned with memorabilia celebrating the team's rich history, including signed shirts and photos. Visitors rave about the vibrant atmosphere, especially on match days when supporters gather to cheer on their team.
Myself and my son went here before the Newcastle v Athletico Madrid game. Atmosphere was fantastic, staff were so friendly and other punters very welcoming. We tried the two pinter beers, which were great. Would defiantly be back, it's a definite stop for any Newcastle United fan

Great way to escape to another time in this old watering house. Newcastle United paraphernalia is the mainstay of decoration for obvious reasons, but the pub is still old school for an area that is modernising. Fun fact: apparently it was so named for the strawberry plantations that used to be near it. Nuns from the local convent use to grow strawberries for strawberry wine...

Be aware of their drink time-limit policy. On a quiet Sunday, while locals visits other nearby competitors (Shark, Stack, Shearers) there is now a time limit for you to finish your drink before they ask you to order another one. Popped into Shark Club Gastro Bar in Newcastle for lunch with a mate, and it was a proper treat! Their wings are the star- tender, juicy, and perfectly marinated. We split a platter with Korean and BBQ flavors, both absolute bangers. Couldn’t resist the steak bites either—succulent and packed with flavor. Priced around £15-£20 for the lot, it’s great value. The staff were dead friendly, keeping the vibe upbeat in this lively, modern gastro bar. One tip: avoid match days unless you love a packed house—it gets swarmed with footie fans! Perfect spot near the city center for a casual bite. Highly recommend for a top-notch pub lunch—just plan around Newcastle United games!

I've always loved coming to Shark Club. The food is consistently top-notch, and the wait staff are friendly and professional. It’s been one of my favourite spots for a long time. However, this recent visit was deeply disappointing. The security staff, particularly one with a long beard, was extremely rude and completely out of line. Basic courtesy and professionalism were clearly lacking. It might be worth taking a page from your colleagues over at Stack, who know how to treat customers with respect. This experience has unfortunately overshadowed what has otherwise been a great track record with Shark Club. Great food alone isn't enough; service matters just as much. I truly hope this is addressed.

Wings Wednesdays and Fridays. 10 wings for £4.90. Many flavours to choose from. Jack Daniels wings are the best. Must book to get seated as its always busy on these days. Not the most attentive staff but all are nice and friendly. Love the place. Edit: There’s been a little refurb inside and prices are a little bit more these days. It’s cleaner than it once was but everything above still stands. Only thing that I can point out is that staff need to be more attentive to customers in for food. It’s hard to catch their attention with the way it’s lay out. I highly recommend this place though for wings!

Henry V survived an arrow in the face and went on to win at Agincourt. ( again see Shakespear!) A Cask Marque pub that does toasted Stottie Cakes. ( giant north east bread buns...made Greggs of Gosforth the giant they are today.) Ladies toilet upstairs.

Pub
The Wobbly Duck is a basement micro pub that opened in 2021 in Newcastle's Old Eldon Square. It is run by the owners of Beer Street Micropub and The Old Fox pub, offering a selection of ales from independent breweries in a stripped-back 'proper pub' space. The constantly changing blackboard and fridges offer various beer options, and visitors can also purchase beers to take away from its sister outlet.
Was advised to try this hidden gem by my son and it was one of his better ideas, great bar with plenty of choice of beers. Staff seemed very friendly and knowledgeable about all the selections. It’s a bar you could easily walk past and not see it but it won’t happen to me again

A super Micro bar in a basement off Eldon Square. Paulicarus loved the real ale selection. Apparently there is outside space to the rear and tables on the square when weather permits. A CAMRA 2025 Good Beer Guide entry. Busy in our visit.

Hidden gem! Great place to have a quiet pint. Great selection of craft beers. Love the duck theme throughout the pub. Good service! I will definitely be back upon my next stay in Newcastle!

This is my new favorite city centre spot after a day of shopping. We only discovered it after watching a YouTube video about cool pubs in Newcastle. We must have walked by it 100 times. Every time we go in now there’s a new great selection of beer on tap and cask. We usually go in the afternoon and it’s always been quiet, and there’s ample outside seating. Not a bad spot to sit this summer while your kids are watching a movie in the Eldon square grassy area…

A great little bar, near the main shopping area of Newcastle. A little tricky to find but worth it. Great selection of beers.

Great little local beer bar. Small and intimate inside, with nice decor of barrels hanging from the ceiling. The staff were really friendly and the drinks were reasonably priced. They had lots of local ales on tap and several Belgian beers by the bottle. Indoor and some outdoor seating.

Excellent micropub in the basement of a Georgian terraced house near Newcastle's Greg's Monument. Five cask beers on handpump when I visited including a mild. Lots of outdoor seating at the front and in the partly covered garden to the rear.

Nestled discreetly in the heart of Newcastle, The Exchange is a charming new addition to the city's vibrant scene. This hidden gem can be found just off Northumberland Street, tucked away behind a classic red telephone box that leads you into a stylish 1930s-inspired bar. With its speakeasy vibe and menu nodding to notorious figures like Al Capone, it offers an intriguing experience for visitors.
Talk about a dial-icious experience at The Exchange Newcastle! The food was absolutely banging, leaving my taste buds ringing with delight. The staff were not only helpful but also incredibly friendly, giving a whole new meaning to 'call'-service dining. From the moment I picked up the menu, I knew I was in for a 'cell'ar-sational treat. The dishes were so tasty, they had me 'phoning' my friends to spread the word about this fantastic restaurant. With a menu that's a 'hotline' to flavor town and staff that are always ready to 'ring' in your order, The Exchange Newcastle is definitely on my speed dial for great dining experiences. Don't miss out on this 'cell'ariffic gem!
Jayden R — Google review
The drinks are not great at all. Ordered a classic cosmo as it states their bartenders can make 36 different ones. The cranberry was very very watered down as I asked for extra as the cosmo came out orange and had no taste and they clearly manually added water to the carton to make it last. They had used random brine for the martini and the waitress told you it probably would not be nice an after she had made it and brought it over and she was right! However the staff are lovely, friendly and accommodating
Hannah L — Google review
The Exchange is a wonderful speakeasy style bar right in the middle of Newcastle that is tucked away just off Northumberland Street. (It used to be the Purple Bear and before that the Northumberland Arms). You enter through and old style "phone box" and step down I to a wonderfully decorated, quirky pub. Everything about it fabulous. The menu is limited, for good reason, as everything on it is of the highest quality and the choice of beers and cocktails is excellent. The service is also top class and in my recent visit Emily and in particular, Charlotte were fabulous. I always try and pop in when I am in Newcastle and it is definitely highly recommended.

Called in on a Saturday afternoon. Nice clean place but very few customers. No atmosphere at all. May be better when busy but I won't be there
Darren — Google review
The service was absolutely fantastic, from the moment I walked in. The gentleman who seated me and took my order was brilliant. The food arrived quickly and hot. I got the fish tacos, calimari and some fries. The lime mayo with the calimari and the Cajun corn on the taco were the highlights for sure and the fries were very tasty and crispy. The tacos were missing a hit of something and the batter on the calimari was a little too thick and didn't feel delicate, but very happily ate it all. For the cost, service, atmosphere and most of all, staff, I would definitely recommend and will be back myself.
Karl M — Google review
This is a great little find. The venue is underground. The door into the venue is opened by pushing the button on the side. There have been football games playing on the screens the last few times I have been here. There have always been enough table to sit at. The costs of the drinks is ok. It's a good venue to visit when you are on the lash.

The prime location provides stunning views of the Millennium Bridge, the Baltic, and The Glasshouse from its terrace. It's an ideal spot for enjoying drinks with friends or having a romantic meal overlooking the river. Additionally, they offer a tempting bottomless brunch every weekend.
It's my favourite place in Newcastle. When I feel sad and homesick, this is the place. Amazing atmosphere very relaxing and even when not sunny still beautiful. Always the best service; the waiter is extremely friendly, efficient, and helpful. The food is always excellent. I had a steak, and it was tender, flavourful , and perfectly cooked, as I requested.

Went for bottomless brunch yesterday. The burger was lovely, really well cooked and the many many awkward adaptations to the menu were accommodated for our very fussy party! The drinks were plentiful and our server was fantastic. She really went above and beyond to ensure we had a brilliant evening. All the staff were good, very friendly and helpful but she went the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. The only downside was how loud the music was (yes I sound like an old fart!) At times it was too loud to have any kind of conversation, at least there were some good songs played!! Overall, definitely worth a visit, fantastic value for money and brilliant service.

Lola Jeans is a stylish and versatile venue offering a wide range of international dishes and cocktails. Originally established in Tynemouth, it expanded to Newcastle's Market Street, where it has garnered praise for its elegant interior design that transforms from a relaxed cafe during the day to a speakeasy-inspired cocktail bar at night. The menu features American comfort food with a focus on burgers and tantalizing taco options like Korean chicken or Baja fish.
Amazing grub! Fully worthy of award winning burgers. I had the 'California' and it delicious. Really tasty patties and a lovely soft bun. The red onion jam was sweet and paired beautifully with the salt beef. I'd have liked a little more of the salt beef meat though. The sweet potato fries were great and my girlfriend enjoyed her chicken tenders. Pretty good portion sizes. The place has a nice atmosphere, a fantastic bar selection and the staff were top notch. Definitely somewhere I'll go again soon! Next visit: More excellent food! Having already experienced fantastic scran at both this branch and the Tynemouth one me and my girlfriend were excited to go back for more. I went for the 'Duke' burger which was delicious. Really well cooked patties and fantastic flavours. We also enjoyed some halloumi fries and chicken tenders. The drinks range is great and the staff are lovely. It's a beautifully decked out place and definitely a go-to place for us now.

I had not returned for years because the music used to be so loud to the point you couldn't enjoy talking to the people you went out to see, however was so relieved when I did and this was not the case. Great burgers, and winners of so many battles of the burgers for a reason - it’s easy for mist burgers to taste similarly but these ones are quite unique from each other. Lovely local pub, have been here multiple times and is always playing good indie music. Good for a catch up with friends whether it’s just to drink or a sit down meal. Went today and the lady on shift was very nice :)

The fries were good, but the vegan fish was… just not it. Plus, the two small slices of tofu [vegan fish] definitely weren’t worth the price. On another visit, we had to wait over an hour for two bowls of soup, which was frustrating. That said, they do have nice nachos! The place itself has a really nice vibe, with great interior design and music that adds to the atmosphere. It’s also located in a fantastic area!

Lovely little spot for a pint, especially on a day like today when the sun is shining. It was quite busy but what else can you expect with such nice weather, and a Saturday lunch time at that! A little on the expensive side at £5.95 a pint for a cider, so while it was nice, I probably wouldn't rush back. Excellent service too, especially with how many people were there. I would recommend getting there as early as possible in order to get a table as they fill up quick. We were lucky to get one as we arrived just prior to opening.
Milo C — Google review
Good vibes but small portions for food annd fish n chips is not good, not even sure what it’s meant to be as a vegan substitute. Burgers are crap. Beers are good that’s it.
James S — Google review
Great vegan roast, do wish maybe there was one more vegetable instead of two types of potatoes! Sticky toffee pudding was nice, did not enjoy the custard, had a weird powdered taste/mouth feel. Really lovely pub with nice decor and ambience. Good prices for the food too.

Absolutely love coming here, I was just getting over an illness so the food here was perfect for helping me recover 🥳 The fish and chips were incredible and the "chicken" patty had a great taste 👍
James H — Google review
Only good thing was the weather today, everything else was abysmal. 1 Main course, 1 from kids menu, extra portion of chips, pint and half a shandy £41 WOW!! All followed by service with the attitude, really bad taste of the what I was told is Staropramen beer (everything but or they haven't cleaned pipes in really long time) and food that was mediocre at most. This is by far the worst place in every aspect we have ever been in really long time now. Needless to say wouldn't come back and wouldn't recommend it at all.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Newcastle, The Head of Steam Quayside is an intimate venue that promises a memorable night out. With a cozy capacity of just 90, it fosters a close-knit atmosphere where music lovers can truly connect with the performers. While it may host smaller bands, this only enhances the experience as fans passionately sing along to every tune.
We regularly come here for lunch on nice days after a walk along the quayside. The only bit I don't like about it is that the tables, sauce bottles and menus are usually sticky to the touch. That aside, they have a really comprehensive beer menu (we enjoyed pineapple and grapefruit wheat beer shandies last time) and the food is pretty good. The lunch menu offers a good discount and we usually go for burgers or gyros.

Busy and didn't have the character of a real ale pub or the friendly welcoming nature. Seemed a bit run if the mill and too busy to really have any interest in 'people'. Beer was nice and it was around 6-7 pm on a Saturday, so would like to go in at quieter time to compare better.

Depending on which day you visit, it can be very very busy, or very quiet! I visited across two days and noticed the Friday night was jam packed, compared to the Sunday afternoon. We had food on the Sunday but I wasn't impressed. It was quite expensive for what it was. The chips weren't cooked and some were still quite cold/wet. The food just wasn't what I imagined as I had been a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Ground floor access to toilets which is great. It's a big enough bar that you can normally find a free seat!
Corinne R — Google review
Took my mate here and waited outside because I remember last year the food being incredible. What ever happened? Did the chef quit? It’s absolutely unacceptable to serve stale 1 or two day old food to customers. Ordered two burger and chips from here and what came was a joke. Two black thin burgers burned to a crisp which almost took out my tooth. Zero bounce, juice or moisture meaning they probably were sat for a day or two then absolutely nuked to charcoal and served. And if I wasn’t convinced about the stale old food the fries came, again, zero moisture dried dead fries looking slightly green in colour. I tried one and honestly- the texture wasn’t pleasant. It was stale flakes of dried old potato. Chef didn’t even have time to cook the burgers and prepare the meal if it was all done fresh plus the lack of grease would suggest I'm right about the food being old and dry then reheated.
Jon M — Google review
Very nice bar, very good selection of quality beers. Limited menu but what they do is very good. I had the dirty fries which were pretty good. You get a choice of toppings, I went for katsu chicken. The swaharma salad is very good too. They do other stuff like burgers etc. The food came pretty quickly too. Tucked away off the quayside but well worth a visit. Definitely worth a visit.

The Head Of Steam Quayside stands out for all the right reasons which is no easy feat given there’s hardly a shortage of pubs in Newcastle. Love the interior, plenty of personality and character. The layout is not so cramped that it’s overwhelming, not so spread out that it loses atmosphere, spot on. Not tried the food from here yet so can’t comment on that. Fast and reliable service, good selection of drinks, dog friendly, and in a brilliant location.

Kiln is a multifaceted establishment housed in a former industrial brick building, offering a unique combination of pottery studio, coffee shop, restaurant, and bar. The venue serves Middle Eastern brunch featuring freshly made dishes using local ingredients. Guests can enjoy meze dishes like hummus and pita, labneh with olives and pickles, and banana bread followed by various egg dishes.
Kiln is hands down one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had! While it’s a bit outside Newcastle’s city center, it’s absolutely worth the stroll. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and even though it was packed midweek, we managed to snag a seat at the bar without a reservation. Sitting at the bar turned out to be perfect—it made it easy to keep the incredible food coming, and we certainly indulged! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, absolutely mouthwatering. I especially loved all the vegetarian options—there was such a great variety, and each one was as delicious as the next. We kept ordering more because everything was so good, and I left feeling completely stuffed in the best way. The staff was wonderfully friendly and attentive without being pushy. At one point, I casually mentioned that I didn’t think there was a dessert menu, but to my delight, there was—and what a dessert it was! The chocolate dessert I had was divine: rich, heavy, and everything a chocolate treat should be. I can’t wait to return someday!

Fantastic meal at Kiln. As quite the foodie I struggle to find great places, with good food and service in Newcastle. My first time down the Ouseburn and Kiln was 10/10. The place is cosy, buzzing atmosphere also loved the cosy fire outside. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu isn’t huge but plenty to choose from, food was super tasty. We had the hummus, green labneh, chicken skewers, cucumber salad with tomato, pita and a sea bass. Very good, full of flavour. Would recommended to anyone only thing missing is a decent pudding!

Stopped here for another brilliant breakfast. We'd never had a Pide before, and the softness of the bread with the middle eastern herbs was just so tasty. We also had the steak and eggs, because why not? Well cooked, with great accompanying sauces. Chilled out tunes wafted across the venue, which was warm and toasty.

What a delight of a restaurant! Our first time in Kiln last night and it certainly won’t be the last. What a gorgeous atmosphere and the food was incredible. A joy to have some non alcoholic options that weren’t full of sugar too. We had such a great time we didn’t even take pictures of the food! Turned up at 8:15pm Saturday night on a bank holiday weekend and told they'd just called last orders. A star for the friendly doorstaff who let us go in. We figured we'd get a quick half and move on. The options were very mainstream (they had Guinness and Kopperburg for example). Looks like it could be nice, but my opinion was it wasn't really what it was advertising in beers or opening times
Paul M — Google review
Popped in here for a pre dinner drink. Great location right on the river. Only the outside bar was operating. Because it's outside the drinks are served in plastic cups. Found it more expensive than the pubs, 20 pounds for 2 pints of beer and a gin and tonic.
Karen E — Google review
Fab location with great selection of food outlets. We tried a couple and would highly recommend Dabbawal Indian street food! Point to improve: It’s on the expensive side (£7 a pint), the beer selection is small considering its a tap location and the app confusing. Didn’t take away from awesome location and fab food/drink atmosphere would defo recommend 😄
Alex — Google review
By far one of the best place to eat and drink in Newcastle & Gateshead. The location is perfect, the views are outstanding. Food from the restaurant, Träkol, is amazing and one of the most unique dining experiences in the area. There's also the HWKRMRKT if you just want to sample an exceptional showcase of the region's street food vendors.
Stuart S — Google review
The location is just perfect! Great outdoor seating and just such a cool and novel place. Beers were fab and the restaurant that is attached had some of thee best food me, my partner and my sister had ever tasted! Very very impressed and would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Great location for a start, right on the river, with views over to the Newcastle side, and catching the sun from early afternoon through to mid evening. There's a weekend street food market too.

Fitzgeralds is a traditional pub located on Grey Street in Newcastle, known for its stunning architecture. The pub offers a wide selection of drinks including real ale, gin, spirits, and wine. It is even featured in the Real Ale Guide. Visitors can expect a bustling atmosphere with a mixed crowd and no overbearing music. The friendly staff serves well-kept beers and great cocktails, making it an enjoyable spot for sophisticated drinks and pub grub.
Very good pub on Grey Street Newcastle. Six cask ales on handpump when I last visited including an oatmeal stout. A few tables outside at the front. Busy, but not impossibly so, before the Spurs game at St James' Park.
John J — Google review
A large modern bar in the CAMRA 2025 Good Beer Guide. Five handpumped ales. Very quiet on this Wednesday March evening. Quite a plush interior with very comfortable seating. A pint of Albany Pale by local Two by Two Wallsend brewery. Good but not perfect Paulicarus on his second wind as he sups pint number 10 of the day. Sadly not all of us are that good and need bed! A long and wide one roomed bar. Quite relaxing when empty.
MADDOGLEP — Google review
Just been on a Monday evening after tea in town. It wasn't too busy which is ideal for us as we wanted to chat. There's a decent choice of casks for those that do, me, and then a full range of kegs, wines and spirits. It has a completely different vibe on a weekend when it's invariably buzzing with a great 'weekend' atmosphere.

We had such an amazing night for our festive friends fun. Ali looked after us perfectly and we are so grateful for everything she did, going that extra mile for us. It’s all the little extra things that make a difference. The table was dressed beautifully for our arrival and compliments to the chef as the festive menu was delicious. Dave entertained us afterwards with his bingo fun upstairs. Everything was spot on and we will be back. Thank you

Alic, Boothroyd and I making our first ever visit to Gosforth. Home of Greggs of Gosforth. A bakery chain that conquered the UK! A superior real ale outlet and proper pub. Alic chose a pint of 3.9% Pale Ale, Lovely Nelly by Cullercoats brewery in Wallsend. I am prety sure it is in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide as I got an incredible 10% discount. Holds a well deserved Cask Marque. A pub owned by the People's Pub chain. Dedicated to the proper locals pub experienve. Pub grub with lots of deals ( Fish n Chips £10 etc.) Tv's. Great taste in music. Lovely staff greeted Booth Bear.

Had steak pie and chips. Pie seemed like it had recently been defrosted as it was still very cold and watery in the middle. No attempt to heat it up before serving, seemed like they just partially defrosted it and put it on a plate. Suffered for it for the rest of the day. Thanks guys. Won’t be coming back.

It’s was a busier day then normal as there was a function up stairs, somethings didn’t quite go to plan but the professionalism of the team shined through and they dealt with ever customs order perfectly. I’d like to thank Ellie and Christine for their brilliance on the day we attended x x

The service was very slow. I appreciate that it is a hot day, but the air conditioning was set on far too cold and was freezing to sit under. I had to go outside to warm up. On a positive note, I like the safety aspect in the ladies' toilets with the ask for Angela poster. This pub does have lovely views of gosforth High street

Wish we'd found this place sooner. Staff were really friendly and helpful; able to seat us walk-ins for a bite to eat even on match day. Tables were spaced apart nicely, better than a lot of other places I've visited. The food was AMAZING. Try the onion rings, they're sublime. Plus, value for money was good too. Thoroughly enjoyable experience, we'll be returning as soon as we can.

Stopped here for lunch midweek and I am glad we did. Food was perfect for what we wanted. I had a fish finger ciabatta and Mrs had chicken wrap both accompanied by French fries. Food came quickly and served by pleasant helpful staff. Thank you

Booked YOLO Newcastle for my friend’s hen party. The room was available early to allow me to decorate and the room itself was clean and spacious. Exactly what I wanted. Staff were friendly, especially the manager Michael who went above and beyond to try to get a video I had made to play through the tv. The finger buffet we preordered was fab, everyone enjoyed it. The only let down was that there were not many vegan options (there was 1 vegan in the party) however they are introducing a new vegan menu soon I was told so that would be good. Would definitely recommend. We had a great afternoon!

Booked the parlour for a hen do for a friend and cannot thank the team enough for what they did. Stacey helped with setup and went above and beyond to make sure that everything ran smoothly. Jade and Demi were both amazing on the day too, looked after everyone really well and made sure everyone has a great time. The food was amazing, everyone loved it all. Can’t thank you guys enough for making this perfect for the hen!

Visited on 21st January 2023. My GF and I had booked in for 2 bottomless brunches. Once we'd arrived I'd noticed restaurant week menu was on and I asked if I could do that and just buy my lager. (Not keen on bubbles) the waitress asked the manager and all was good. She then came over and sorted us out more than they had to. Ended up not having to pay as much as we thought. Honestly, fantastic customer service from the girl serving us and the Manager for giving us such a good deal. 5 star 🌟

Came for breakfast last weekend and we had Michael who served us. Impeccable service, chatty, friendly and a credit to Yolo Townhouse. He also made the nicest iced coffees. I got the small vegetarian breakfast which was delicious, cooked to perfection and amazing price. I will be back!

Had the room on second floor for a hen party and everything was great. Prosecco and syrups on arrival, food laid out later in the afternoon which was all labelled and delicious. The staff Jade, Stacey and Demi couldn't do enough for us. All in all everyone had a fab start to the hen night and would definitely recommend.

Horrific night club and service! Had booked a table here on Saturday night well in advance and paid a £500 deposit (£1600 total), our table was booked for 10:30 however we arrived about 45 minutes early and asked if we could just go into the bar etc for a drink until our table was ready, we was greeted by rude staff member who told us table booking don't start until 11pm etc even though our booking confirmation said 10:30. Anyway they advised us we couldn't enter early but they had a 'sister' bar around the corner we could go to until our booking so we went there first and it was called 'Aveika', we went here and had such a good time however once it was time for our booking in Livello we headed back to the club only to be denied entry because the bouncers didn't like the look of one member of our groups clothing despite letting people enter the club in the exact same clothing. After discussing with the bouncers i then asked for a manager as i wanted my £500 deposit back only to be told be a rude man and woman who was working on the door that 'this wasn't the process and we couldn't have our money back' Eventually we managed to speak to some staff member that worked inside the club and they confirmed they would allow us entry however we would need to wait outside in the freezing cold until our table was ready. After standing outside for maybe 20 minutes they came out and told us 'they could not find our booking' even though we had confirmation and a receipt of payment for the £500 deposit. After standing outside for maybe about 15 minutes they came out and told us they had found a table for us and we was allowed into the club. They did not give us the table we had reserved upstairs but instead a table downstairs where the service was horrific! The night club itself was absolutely terrible, terrible music and was half empty inside. Would not recommend anyone goes here unless you wanted to be treated horrific by members of staff and overall have a terrible night. Much better places to go in Newcastle than this!! The club seriously need to rethink their door staff, absolute terrible treatment from them who all thought they was better than everyone else there and going out of their way to try and ruin peoples nights. Do not waste your money we left after an hour of being in there.
Kristina L — Google review
I was ‘kicked out’ the bar for being unsure if I wanted to be upstairs or downstairs. The head doorman did not investigate this thoroughly therefore I was told the reason I was unable to go back in was being rude to staff. Which I was not in any way. Group of 11 girls left due to this.
Abbie C — Google review
Nice bar with expansive outdoor seating and great selection for cocktails. There was a bit of confusion on our visit that a flyer said 'classic cocktails 2-4-1', but after ordering there are only selected cocktails included, despite the flyer not showing any terms and conditions. The bar staff were very accommodating with the confusion and were professional in doing so.
Chris — Google review
This club is getting away with scamming people in broad daylight. DO NOT GO THERE!. Wish I had read the other reviews before we agreed to go. My friends and I made a booking in advanced and paid in excess of £500 for a group reservation. A couple of the guys arrived before 10pm and was refused entry on some made up reason by the bouncer. They obviously didn’t like the idea of some appropriately dressed black guys being in their empty club. We tried to get a refund on the booking and after numerous calls and emails it’s still took 2 months which eventually lead to them DENYING us our money back. Absolute Criminals running this place. Save yourself from a disappointing rip-off night and go somewhere else trust me.

Great venue, good choice of drinks, was looking forward to the food but was left a little disappointed if I'm honest. Had the brisket with grilled corn and sweet potato fries. Best sweet potato fries ever, but that boiled corn had ever seen a grill. The main was just OK. Staff were friendly and attentive. I'd say the place could do better with the value for money from the menu.
Conor M — Google review
Really really good food, but we waited quite a while for it to arrive and service was slow. Probably due to it being a Tuesday night I guess, but still.. there were three of us at our table and when we ordered desert there was only one desert spoon, so they gave two of us larger spoons. It didn't take away from the experience but considering the place was pretty empty, in fact I think they only had another 2 tables to tend to, it was a bit odd. Food is easily 5 star and presentation, loved the interior and decor. I'll try it again sometime as perhaps it was just a one off.

We just turned up on a Saturday tea time without a reservation. The place was busy but the staff couldn't have been more more helpful. The menu was good, the food was great. Much better than other BBQ restaurants in Newcastle. Will definitely be going back. Went back on Wings night. The wings were tremendous. 10 for £5 And these wings were not off a normal chicken.

Really nice atmosphere. Lovely food. Great beer selection and good prices. Would be 5 stars but the beans were too tomatoey and they don't need the silly fake plants. Very minor points but a lovely night out.
