Chicken wings restaurant
Restaurant
Tommy Want Wingy is a popular mobile eatery in Austin, known for its delicious chicken wings with both classic and creative flavors. Originally started by two brothers, the business has expanded to two locations in the city. The original location can be found on Rainey St next to Lustre Pearl, while the second one is near South Congress. The food truck offers a unique blend of classic and inventive wing flavors that capture the essence of Austin's vibrant food scene.
NEW LOCATION! Now at the 04 Lounge at 3808 S Congress! We got the sweet chili boneless wings and a side of garlic parm tots with ranch, regular ketchup and spicy ketchup! Shawn the owner came over to bring it to us personally and check in on us later to ensure we were happy with the food and service! He is so excited for the new location and to share the amazing food with us all! I usually get the lollipop bone-in wings and they are to die for! So easy to eat! This time I did the boneless wings and the cook and flavor was perfect!! If you love tots you need to try these!! Regular, Garlic Parmesan or Ranch on Fire are the flavors you can get. You cannot go wrong with any of the options but if you like spice definitely get the Ranch on Fire! Ordering: If you are in the 04 Lounge and wanting to enjoy this delicious food you can use a QR code to see the menu, order and pay! You can also walk to the food truck and order in person!

Amazing wings. Perfectly crispy and the sauce was on point. Garlic tots were also fantastic. The lolipop style was the way to go. Quick service. Would recommend.
Peter W — Google review
Absolutely loved the wings here! Usually hate boned wings because of the hassle it takes to eat one. But these “lollipop” wings make it super convenient to eat. Along with the ease, the quality of chicken and seasoning is superb. I’ve seen people comment on the pricing but if you google the process of making lollipops wings every single cent is justified.

Sad sad sad days for me.. i heard so much good things about this spot I finally came into town to try it out because it says they are open on Google maps. But when I got here they were closed. SADDDD DAYYYZZZ.. I will try it again sometime and change this review if they live up to expectations, but until then ima head to THE POTLUCK down the street they are open..till the next time JUMBO WANT WINGY TOO!!
Jumbo B — Google review
Tommy Want Wingy – and so did I… until Holy Schnikes happened. Decided to test my ego (and taste buds) with the Holy Schnikes heat level, which was basically like signing a waiver for my dignity. Spoiler alert: bad idea. Somewhere between “this is fine” and “why is my soul trying to escape my body?” I realized I had severely overestimated my spice tolerance. BUT once I came crawling back to the mid-range heat wings (you know, where normal humans live), it was absolute bliss. Perfectly crispy, juicy, saucy goodness — honestly, some of the best wings I’ve had in Austin. Lesson learned: stay humble, stay medium. Tommy, you can wing me anytime… just maybe not straight into the gates of flav
Timmy C — Google review
The only way too order is on line..Lolpop drums are cooked perfect .But the 2 sauce I tried buffalo n fire ranch there was next too no sauce or rub a ranch cup helps cause it was bland..If it was not for the well cook wings I'd say never again .But I'd try again and hope for that 5 star wing. But at $30 for 10 wings they should be on point every time
William B — Google review
This place is totally underrated, it is a hidden gem. We came across it randomly while going to another store near by and oh man was I not expecting it to be this good. I have gone back atleast 4x since discovering it over the last 3 weeks. Sheesh. My personal favorite is the ranch on fire wings and the ranch on fire fries. Best fries I’ve ever had, no kidding. They are definitely on the spicier side and I have a high spice tolerance so be careful of that. The pineapple flavored wings are also really good a tolerable spice level. 10/10 recommend. It’s also not a long wait, usually about 10 minutes tops.
The E — Google review
John at the food truck was super friendly and made the experience even better! The locals inside 04 hyped up the wings—and they were 100% right. Wings were so good, the ranch was almost a disservice. Only needed one dip. 🔥 Highly recommend! Your tastebuds will thank you!

Bar & grill
Nestled in a strip mall, Wingzup is a hidden gem for wing enthusiasts. The sports bar offers an array of wing options including boneless, buffalo, country, and smoked wings with nearly 30 different sauces to choose from. From classic to unique flavors like honey BBQ and ghost pepper, there's something for everyone. It's a no-fuss spot where you can enjoy drumsticks and flats in various styles such as country, golden, grilled, and smoked.
I ordered delivery through Favor, and the food was sooooo good still with travel! And everything was correct. We got mushrooms, pickle spears, boneless wings medium buffalo sauce, bone in classic wings with garlic parm sauce. Cheese fries and garlic parm fries. Literally so yummy! I’d definitely dine in if I were in the neighborhood, and would definitely order take out again.
Larissa O — Google review
i love going places with high expectations because you’ve read a bunch about it and it lives up to all the hype and then some! wingzup is such a great spot. sitting in an unassuming spot, you step in and it’s that classic atmosphere with lots of tvs, a bar, and friendly staff. then the wings arrive and you’ve realized you are definitely in the right place as they are cooked perfectly with great flavor. they have so many options it’s hard to pick, but honestly you can’t go wrong so keep going back!

First time eating in the facility. I've had it delivered at work and the wings were great...so I had to try them straight to the table and it did not disappoint! This is our new spot (hopefully you guys stay busy enough but still not hours long of waiting) what I mean is, it's still a hidden gem and once word gets out it's over!!! Anyways, give them a try, even when they do hear about yall-IT WILL BE WORTH A WAIT!!! I had the boneless buffalo ranch wings and the golden jalapeno ranch wings, both very tasty! Whatever the seasoning is on just the Golden wings is to die for!!! We will be back! Oh yeah, and the price is just right!!! You are paying for huge wings!!!
Bonnie H — Google review
Ordered the fried mushrooms, waffle fries, sweet potato fries, Original, Country, and Golden style wings. The mushrooms were huge and ok. Both the waffle fries and sweet potato fries were very good. Nice simple fries made great. I wasn't a big fan of the Country style wings. I thought the batter was light and the taste was off. The Original were tossed in hot sauce. The wings were really good. The hot is HOT. I could taste the heat after the first wing. By far, my favorite were the Golden wings. I did dip them, but mostly ate them as is. The place had a great vibe if you're a sports fan. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us regularly. I would come back for the Golden wings for sure.
Rewlaz — Google review
We tried this place while visiting town, it was seat yourself. Not busy when we got there. I heard that they have won best wings in Austin before so we gave it a try. First of all ordered some drinks, I can say micheladas are good and it's the first place where I have seen a Mexican candy Rita so I decided to try it. Our drinks were good, they offer a wide variety of beers and cocktails. They do have a small bar inside. They have daily happy hour too. On the wings they let us try the sauces before ordering, they have different styles of wings which make them unique and different from other places. Instead of ordering fried, we ordered smocked wings and they were delicious. Cooked to perfection, meat falling off the bone. They offer a ample variety of flavors going from non spicy to really spicy. We ordered Cajun and I tried the ghost wings, which are the spiciest the have. I can assure you that they were spicy. Not for everyone. Added some garlic parmesan fries, also really good and generous in portion. We loved the service, the atmosphere, and we highly recommend it.
Betsy V — Google review
Great little place. The wings are large and delicious. So many flavors to choose from. We also tried regular Buffalo Hot wings that were very good. The Poutine dish is very good.
Reed — Google review
National Wingz Day...Wingz Up is the place to be. The wings are big & favorable. If u like some spicy, try any flavor in the orange/red spicy scale. Don't forget to try the adult beverages. We enjoyed shots and cocktails. The price for the wings and tenders may seem overpriced...but when I tell u it's really worth it. You will be back. I returned a week later with coworkers. I had the country style tenders. 😱🤯I ordered the 4 piece. And when I say I huge. Just check out the pic. Wingz Up wingz is on another level!!! Stop by.
Sefria R — Google review
I’ve been a regular at Wingz Up because, despite questionable service, the food has always been great. I was really looking forward to this meal, expecting the same quality I’ve loved in the past—but this time it was just blatantly disappointing and unacceptable. Service: My order was incorrect, and when I pointed it out, the food runner looked at me as if I was mistaken. Poppers were delayed, and a second batch of wings arrived even later, while other tables were served first. Not a single apology or attempt to make things right was offered. Service was slow, inattentive, and indifferent. Food: My friend ordered the mild boneless wings, which tasted a bit off and bland. Separately, the bone-in garlic ranch wings were even worse. They were dry and lacked flavor, prompting a friend to comment, “The chicken was better in the barracks than here.” The ketchup tasted strange, the salsa was overwhelmingly tomato-heavy, and the poppers tasted like cheap frozen ones with a chemical aftertaste. After they eventually brought me the correct food, the chicken was extremely dry instead of the usual juiciness I've come to expect. Fries and chips were the only redeeming food items. I’ve historically loved Wingz Up, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Both the food and service were awful, and significant improvements are needed before I consider returning.

Hi Wings is a popular spot in Austin known for its delicious fried chicken wings, including Korean Fried Chicken flavors. Customers rave about the juicy and tender meat that's perfectly fried, as well as the variety of flavorful sauces offered. The menu goes beyond wings, featuring other tasty options. The restaurant's inviting atmosphere with TVs and beer makes it a great place to enjoy a meal.
Greeted by a nice lady once we walked in. Parmershan fries to start that were crunchy and melt in your mouth. The wings were the best Korean style wings I've had. Thick crunchy breading and tender jucy inside. Better than bb.q chicken or other spots in austin. Will be returning soon.
Ethan S — Google review
Absolutely fantastic wings. They were huge, well fried, and a massive serving. The flavors were quite potent and had many options, will definitely be going back to try some different sauces. The service was a tad funky as ordering was all done via QR code and on our phones. It felt a tad clunky and I wasn't sure if I had ordered or not. All in all it wasn't that bad and the food came out in good time.
Kenny K — Google review
Love the service here! Push the button on the wall and they’re there right away. We had the Parmesan French fries and fried chicken with sauce on the Korean sauce on the side. Very good fried chicken btw. It fed 2.5 people.
Jeremie T — Google review
I’ve visited Hi Wings several times. Their fried chicken is solid. I especially love the garlic parmesan and orange chicken flavors. Ordering is easy by phone (QR code). Service is limited (not much table service), but the staff are friendly.
Patticha G — Google review
Discalimer: This isn't my first trip here, my family and friends have eaten here about 5x prior to tonight. Every time the food and service is amazing. P.S. I have been to Korea and had the fried chicken experience there! Dining here is an authentic experience!! 10/10 I definitely recommend!! 💜
Sondra N — Google review
We ordered the Half Crispy Chicken with Sweet & Sour sauce, and 5 Battered Wings with Peach Habanero. We got both sauces on the side to keep the chicken crispy, and that was the right call! The chicken was super crispy and well seasoned on its own. The sweet & sour was classic and tangy, while the peach habanero had a nice balance of heat and sweetness. Garlic parmesan fries could have been better though
Samiha T — Google review
Rating: 4.6/5 [delivery] Garlic Lover's Chicken Half ($21.99): Fried chicken topped with a generous amount of fresh garlic and honey, served with one side—we chose pickled radish. The garlic honey glaze was an umami bomb! I could only eat one piece because of how intense it was. The chicken was huge, perfectly battered, and crispy. My husband loved this dish. Battered Wings (5 pcs - $13.49): These thin-battered wings were crispy on the outside and juicy inside. We got them tossed in sweet soy, which was absolutely delicious. The wings were a great size and stayed crunchy. I personally preferred these over the Garlic Lover's Chicken. For dipping sauce, we chose honey mustard, which was just okay. We also tried an extra 2 oz of Peach Habanero sauce ($2.50), which was fire—sweet with a nice spicy kick. Definitely worth trying at least once!
Angelica L — Google review
IMO, Prolly the best Korean fried wings in Austin. I'm never ever disappointed when I come here for Korean fried chicken. The cleanliness of the place, the service, the drinks available and the games on TV. You can't go wrong with either the whole chicken or the wings, they are always cooked to perfection. My favorite sauces are the regular Korean sweet & spicy or the can't go wrong Sweet Soy, so good!!! Chicken always come out hot made to order, and don't forget bout the fries, they always come out hot and fresh too. Prices may seem high but they are pretty fair, and you are never getting baby chicken wings. Also, if you don't want the sauces eat them plain, they are just as good that way. Go ahead and give this place a try it's awesome. Other flavors to try: i just tried, Jalapeno Parmesean, it was OK, it had heat but too much mayo flavor for me, The pepper chicken was not easy to find on the menu, but it's so worth it. Good amount of sweet with the heat. My 2nd favorite sauce.

Pluckers Wing Bar in Austin is a sports bar and grill that's known for its wide selection of wings, burgers, and more. They offer various sauces and you can order anywhere from 5 to 100 pieces of chicken wings. While dining in can be chaotic with long wait times, ordering through the app for takeout is a convenient option. The service may be hectic but adds to the fun atmosphere. The food is considered average, but the wings are generously coated with sauce.
Our dinner was amazing. Everything was super delicious and Maddie and Alan were super great. Alan accommodated us quickly and had such a great and welcoming attitude despite us getting here late. Maddie was our server and she was amazing. Keeping us updated on our food and being super attentive to our refills and whatever we needed. Overall a great dinner after our youth service.

100000% amazing! I made an online order and had ordered a buffalo chicken salad and they unfortunately forgot my chicken. I called and spoke to Tracy who not only made the order right but went above and beyond to make it fantastic. Tracy you are extremely wonderful and you were so sweet I wanted to give you the recognition you deserve! Thank you for everything. To you it might be chicken but to me it was the kindness you showed. Thank you! The ladies up front were also super sweet but the whole situation was overall great!

I had a great experience at Pluckers Wing Bar! The food came out hot and delicious, and the atmosphere was fun and lively. If you’re visiting / living here you gotta come here! Darlene was our server she was absolutely fast professional attentive and an amazing waitress. The food at pluckers is ALWAYS good and a staple in Texas! Restaurant was also very clean and they really take care of us every single time we go. We came for the $8 special for 7/25/25 30th anniversary and the price is incredible!

I had an amazing experience at Pluckers, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Ruby! From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcome and taken care of. She was friendly, attentive, and really knew the menu and gave some awesome recommendations, especially on the wings and sauces. Drinks were refilled quickly, food came out hot and fresh, and they checked in just the right amount. Pluckers is lucky to have someone like Ruby on the team. Can’t wait to come back!

The Tavern is a German-influenced sports bar with over 30 high-definition TVs and an upstairs patio. It's a popular spot for Arsenal fans and offers classic chicken wings in various sauces, as well as unique bacon-wrapped jalapeno-stuffed boneless wings. The menu features mouth-watering dishes like Mahomes fries and the Emilys Ghost Burger. Happy hour specials include discounted drinks and bites from Monday to Friday.
I saw this place on YouTube as the top 10 haunted spots on Austin. I stopped in and had a draft IPA, a whiskey the bartender suggested, and some buffalo wings. They did my wings all drums which made me excited. The beer was ice cold and the whiskey did not disappoint. The wings were some of the best wings I've ever had! Bartender had a great sense of humor and the people were very friendly. Loved the atmosphere and the place was clean. If you are in the area it's definitely worth the visit. And no ghostly apparitions either, lol

After going to the UT vs Florida game, we were looking for a place to grab some food and drinks. Saw The Tavern had some great reviews and decided to check it out. The place was packed with college football fans and the atmosphere seemed great. We ordered the nachos and the mozzarella sticks as we thought appetizers would be a safe choice with the amount of people that were inside. It took almost 45 minutes to get the food and when it came out, I thought it was a joke. The mozzarella sticks were actually amazing, but these nachos were the most ridiculous nachos I have ever seen in my life. I think Napoleon Dynamite made better nachos than what we were served. It was 3 tortillas cut in half, smeared with refried beans and sprinkled with shredded cheese. If you’re hungry, I’d recommend not coming here while they are busy. If you want beer or drinks, you’ll probably be safe at anytime here. Whatever you do, do not get the nachos, Taco Bell nachos are far superior and way cheaper than this abomination.

Really enjoyed the food here. Solid tavern food and perfect for watching a game. The Tavern Trio had thick, warm chips that I appreciated since I was dipping them in queso and guacamole (hate when chips break while dipping!). The salad was delicious — the corn relish and pecan really add to the salad (I was hesitant about them thinking there would be too much on the salad; I was wrong). Would order that salad again and again.

Came here cuz one of my buddies picked it out. TVs were fine to catch sports. The fries were OK. The chicken fried chicken tasted like it was fried in old oil. The chicken skin was not crispy and very bland. The bacon wrapped wings tasted old and were just not good. The bathroom had this funky off putting smell, I had to walk 3 blocks to use the bathroom at 7/11. The appetizers cost the same as the entrees, so expect to spend $40-50. Great spot to stop for a drink or watch a game. We ordered the nachos which I was surprised when it came out with six large tortilla chips covered in cheese not your typical nacho plate, but it was still good. Very cool old tavern!

Stopped by The Tavern with the family after a day exploring Austin, great decision. Laid back vibe, solid beer selection, and the burgers hit the spot. My daughter loved the giant pretzel, and the staff was super friendly. TVs everywhere, so I didn’t miss the game either. Classic dad win. We’ll be back.

Stopped into The Tavern recently and was very happy with our dinners. I ordered the bangers and mash, and my wife had the Windy Davis—both were outstanding. I came in expecting typical bar food, but what we got was amazing. The Irish feel of the place made the whole experience even better—cozy, authentic, and full of charm. If I had to nitpick, it’s only that it’s a Kansas City bar (Go Birds!), but hey—when the food is this good, you let it slide. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend! 🍀🍽️

Soul food restaurant
The Rolling Rooster is a casual eatery and bar that offers a menu featuring chicken and waffles, fish, and Southern sides. It's known for its own version of hot wings and is considered the go-to place for satisfying cravings for big southern-style plates. The restaurant also serves fried pickles, gizzards, and other soul food options. Customers praise the excellent customer service, drinks, and family-friendly atmosphere.
The food was sooo good! Even though I received syrup, I did not need it. The waffle had so much flavor. The chicken was seasoned to perfection!! Service was quick so no waiting. Definitely go by if you in the area.
Cammi G — Google review
This place was really well put together and had a great chill vibe when we arrived. Our server was nice and polite and took care of us and our unique needs. The food was cool to order which took a bit, but I don't mind waiting for hot food. And the plates were well put together and offered a good amount for the price. We ordered fish and wings, Mac and cheese, okra, rice and gravy along with some fried pickles. The pickles would slip out of the batter, but had a good flavor. Mac had a good flavor to it as well, with heavy pepper (for those picky eaters to beware!) rice and gravy had a amazing taste and was cooked to perfect. Chicken had a excellent crunch and flavor and size. Fish was very thinly sliced, could've had a tad more crunch to it in my opinion, but the flavor was good. Tarter sauce was good as well. Each plate was offered one slice of warm bread to go with the meal. Their cool aid is what you should order! It was chef's kiss to perfection! Food was about $25-$20 with a high priced drinks of over $3! We spent about $80 for our meal of 3.

The tenders, fries and chicken wings tasted like it was cooked it old grease and had a slightly burnt appearance. The chicken lacked flavor, likely due to the old grease they fried it in. However, they were crispy. The condiments might’ve helped but everything was off brand (ketchup & ranch). The macaroni…I feel like it was stove top and not oven baked. It tasted very bland and was barely sprinkled/cooked with any cheese. The yams were super mushy and sweet…not sure if they were canned or fresh. I also had shrimp that the menu said was large but they were extremely small. Overall, the food was not worth the price. BUT on high note, the customer service was great. The ladies who helped me were super sweet & helpful. The atmosphere seemed cool too….they had a DJ in there. I went at night.

First time here and had an AMAZING meal! The chicken is hands down some of the best I've had in town, fried okra was also seasoned excellently! Hubs had the chicken and waffle and he really enjoyed the waffle,, which can be lackluster at other spots serving the same dish. Looking forward to our next time eating here!! 💜✨️

The Rolling Rooster has good fried shrimp. The mac and cheese was to really good and I would recommend as a must try. The service was great. Unfortunately the table that we were going to be sat at was dirty and the host cleaned it for us by wiping it down. He did forget to dry it, but grateful it was cleaned. (I dried it myself with napkins). The waitress was friendly and helpful. They offer Happy Hour but I did not try any alcoholic beverages this time. The tables seem like they need an overhaul, a tad too tall and wobbly from wear and tear. But overall would definitely say give this place a try and of course order the mac and cheese!
Fallon B — Google review
We had the fried fish and chicken wings i wasn't disappointed at all with the food very tasty only thingi wish the fish had more meat they cut it really thin...the waitress would've gotten more tip if the restaurant didn't automatically add the tip to our ticket for only two people...so we gave the waitress what they ask for $8 What happened to adding tip to the ticket with 5 or more seated? This is why I gave 3 stars Just trying to show support for our black own businesses seem to get screwed almost every time...sad! But im not going to stop supporting

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Rolling Rooster is absolutely incredible! The food was out of this world — I had the chicken tenders, and they were hands down the best I’ve ever had: perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. On top of that, the service was amazing. Zee went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable, friendly, and welcoming. It’s rare to find a spot that nails both the food and the service, but The Rolling Rooster delivers on both fronts. Highly recommend if you’re craving great comfort food and a warm dining experience!

Pluckers Wing Bar is a beloved sports bar and grill that specializes in mouthwatering wings, juicy burgers, and a variety of other delicious offerings. Founded in 1995 by Mark Paul and Dave Greenberg after their late-night cravings at UT led to the idea of opening a wing joint, Pluckers has grown from its humble beginnings into an impressive chain with multiple locations across Texas.
This is the OG of Pluckers. The atmosphere is top notch, beer is cold, Wednesday has trivia nights and the service is amazing. Special thanks to Matthew and Jonathan! Would highly recommend!

Excellent chicken wing restaurant right across the street from the UT campus, near a series of apartments that host UT students. Great food with great flavoring. Lots of spice options from wings with sauce or dry. I tried 3 different kinds and loved all three of them. The fries were also delicious as well.

Barbecue restaurant
Stiles Switch BBQ is a popular barbecue joint located in the Violet Crown shopping center in central Austin. The restaurant has gained a loyal following for its classic smoked meats and unique menu offerings, such as half-chickens in Alabama white sauce, St. Louis pork ribs, and oak-smoked wings.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stiles Switch BBQ absolutely delivered! The pork ribs were exactly as described—sweet heat with a perfect balance. Just the right touch of heat followed by a splash of sweet that keeps you reaching for more. The turkey? Honestly, one of the best I’ve ever had. I hope Terry Black’s doesn’t see this… Now, the Honey BBQ wings—they smoked the “cousin wings” we’ve been loyal to for nearly a decade. Total game-changer. And the mac and cheese? It took me straight back to Thanksgiving dinner with every bite. Can’t give more than 5 stars, so 5 it is—but this spot deserves a bonus star in spirit. 🔥🍖🧀
Jeff M — Google review
Stiles Switch BBQ delivers the full Texas barbecue experience—but what really impressed me was how great the veggie options were too! Of course, the coleslaw with deep flavor and perfect texture. But I was surprised by how thoughtful the vegetarian sides were. The mac and cheese, corn casserole, green beans, and potato salad were all delicious and satisfying. Even if you’re not eating meat, you’ll still walk out happy and full. The vibe is laid-back and classic Texas, and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
Malik E — Google review
Stiles was not really high on my list of bbq places to try but I'm glad I did! I honestly think it's just as good as Terry Blacks or Franklins and there was almost not line to wait in. The pork ribs and burnt ends were really good and the beef ribs were incredible. They had a nice thick crust and they were super tender. The brisket was equally as good as the beef rib. Definitely check this place out.
Matthew S — Google review
A favorite among Austin locals for a reason. Best sides in the Texas BBQ scene with something for everyone. This isn’t just your typical cream corn and buttered new potatoes. They’ve got enough variety where even your vegetarian friend who insisted on coming won’t feel left out. Pork belly burnt ends are great. Try the wings if they got em too. Tres leches with marshmallow topping was incredible. Also the staff here is ridiculously nice and attentive. You will feel that hospitality. One of the servers gave an uber driver an extra dessert because she saw they were working hard that day.
BroadNAbroad — Google review
Looking for delicious BBQ in Austin without the long wait times? Stiles Switch is absolutely worth checking out. We ordered the 3-meat plate, which comes with two sides. For our meats, we went with the St. Louis pork ribs, Switch original sausage, and prime brisket. The ribs were the standout—moist, flavorful, and fall-off-the-bone good. The sausage came in second: well-seasoned with a nice snap. The brisket, while still tasty, was a bit on the dry side for our liking. For sides, we had the serrano glazed Brussels sprouts and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was forgettable, but the Brussels sprouts were excellent—crispy with just the right amount of heat. We finished with their banana pudding, which was a perfect ending—creamy, nostalgic, and not overly sweet.
Mariana G — Google review
At this point I don’t even care to rate about the food . Every staff that I encounter was AMAZING. That alone made the food and this place better. It’s wheelchair accessible. The brisket was hands down my favorite.

OMG. This place is amazing. Drove by accidentally but stopped out of curiosity and we’re so thankful we decided to try it out. Looks unassuming from the outside but step inside and you immediately know you’re going to enjoy the experience. The ambiance is perfect for Texas BBQ. The delicious smells of the food being served is almost too much. The meat is cut right in front of you and the portions are generous. The side dishes were amazingly delicious. Corn casserole and Mac n cheese was to die for. The prices are hefty but the value is definitely there. I couldn’t finish the three meat plate and had to bring brisket home for the next day. The pork ribs were also amazing. The sausage was very tender & delicious. The tables were clean, soda machines have a wide selection but the brewed tea was my choice and it was perfect. The staff was very friendly too. I can’t say enough good things about this experience. We will MOST DEFINITELY return to this bbq joint. You won’t be disappointed if you stop here.

Specializing in comfort foods like catfish, chicken fried steak, and smoked chicken wings, Green Mesquite offers a cozy and rustic atmosphere for diners to enjoy.
We had an awesome experience at Green Mesquite! The live music created such a fun, laid back vibe and the food was delicious. We shared a two meat plate and it was plenty for both of us. Great portions at a great price. Everything was flavorful and cooked just right. Definitely a must visit spot in Austin if you’re looking for good BBQ, good music and a relaxed atmosphere.

The chicken fried chicken, catfish platter and sides (green beans, mac n cheese, jambalaya and fried okra) were delicious. We arrived 30 mins before closing so we just sat inside. Place was clean and had a nice, cozy ambiance. Glad this place is still around and was saved some years ago from shutting down. Will return to try some actual bbq in the future.

Every bite hit the spot — hearty, flavorful, and clearly made with love. I have to give props for the man playing the jams as we left. They were straight out of my favorite roller rink growing up. Your place (your playlist & the band from San Antonio) are going to be tough to beat in this town. Looking forward to having our Pabst Law Firm happy hour here soon. Cheers, man! Nicky & Frank

This is outstanding, down-home barbecue that isn't overpriced, unlike so many places in Austin. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a big warm, Texas welcome and a reassuring handshake from the owner Rick. He loves this business and it shows. The staff are friendly, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy taking care of their customers. It's a real family-run operation that radiates lots of love for good food and pride in sharing that passion with others. I found the portions to be a good size, and everything came out fresh without too long of a wait. We had the Frito pie, four meat platter of smoked chicken, brisket, sausage, and ribs. with Mac and cheese, green beans, and an extra side of coleslaw. I especially liked the tender smoked chicken with a nice crust on it, and the sausage with had that sharp snap when you cut into it, always a good sign. Brisket was delicous, it does have a slight pull (so not completely so soft and tender that it melts in your mouth), which is personal preference but I really enjoyed it. Green beans, hush puppies, and Frito pie were all excellent. Craving something sweet to chase all that savory? Their homemade pies are AMAZING. We got a slice of blueberry pie to go for a late-night snack and it was superb.

Arpeggio Grill is a charming eatery that offers Greek-centric Mediterranean cuisine. The dark and cozy dining room, with traditional floor seating, exudes the faint scent of hookah from the adjacent lounge, mingled with aromas of olive oil and gyro meat. The extensive menu includes everything from pizza and wings to kofta kabob and slow-cooked lamb shanks.
One of my top halal restaurant choices in Austin. Everything is delicious. They offer a lunch special. We ordered their giant pizzas and some wings for a superbowl party. Everyone enjoyed it. I’ve tried their halal beef burgers and can say it’s the best burger in Austin.

Areggio Grill is a Mediterranean and Greek restaurant in central Austin. The atmosphere is interesting, it’s dark and somewhat mysterious feeling, and there is a floor seating area in the corner by the fireplace. Here you take off your shoes and sit on the floor instead of a table. They have a lot of standard dishes like euros, and the lemon chicken and rice soup, and a lot of Mediterranean style appetizers. The portions are decent, albeit not huge, and the food is filling.

The gentlemen that was taking our order was very helpful and guided us through how to order. Food was good, try the lamb! They also have Hot tea available if you want to opt out on a cold drink. Le Bleu is a vibrant Vietnamese eatery located in a strip mall on Burnet Road. It's the brick-and-mortar version of the popular Saigon Le Vendeur food truck, offering fast-casual dining with a focus on Vietnamese street food. The menu features favorites like banh mi, vermicelli bowls, curry ramen, and chef's specials such as claypot eggplants.
I came here for a late lunch. It wasn’t very crowded, which is what I was looking for. The service has been excellent. I was seated immediately, and my waitress was very helpful about my questions about gluten free options. She would go ask if she didn’t know. I was definitely comfortable ordering. I tried the lemongrass margarita, spring rolls, shrimp bún (vermicelli noodles), and sipped on the passion fruit maitai for after my meal. The food came out fairly quickly, and all of it was delicious! The peanut sauce was straightforward and really well balanced for me. Sometimes peanut sauces aren’t gluten free, so I was glad to be able to eat it. The margarita was good, but I couldn’t taste the lemongrass, I may ask for them to put a little more of the lemongrass syrup in next time. The shrimp bún was exactly what I wanted! The shrimp was lightly breaded, and the whole dish was fresh and crunchy (except for the noodles), it really hit the spot. I love the mint in it.. I decided to get the passion fruit maitai after my meal, and it’s a lovely finisher.. the flavor was impressive, lots of stuff going on. There’s muddled blueberries in it. I definitely want my friends to try it when I bring them. My waitress was attentive, but not overly so. I never had to wait for anything, and she didn’t come by very often. Just the right amount of attention, imo. It’s calm, the music wasn’t too loud, and I love the decor! All the colors, and the wall art looks like it was made of scrap wood. Who doesn’t love seeing new life from old materials? I’ll be coming back for sure.

Fun, trendy interior with plenty of seating. I was a little disappointed to see how empty it was on a weekend around lunch time. The pho broth is delightfully beefy and I like how they use the thicker noodles here. It was also nice to see that they use Thai chilis for the pho instead of jalapenos here. The portion sizes, for the most part, are great. However-- I feel like the spring rolls are a bit on the pricey side ($9 for 2 spring rolls). I do, however, appreciate that their spring rolls are not 95% noodles. I like how Le Bleu has vegetarian options that felt satisfying to eat. Shout out to whoever's playlist was playing. They have great taste. I wouldn't say it's my favorite spot for Vietnamese food. I did enjoy my experience here, so I will be coming back to try more things on the menu.

You must get their octopus skewers! It’s a little pricey and came with 3 of them but the tentacles were crispy and the body was juicy and slightly sour with the sauce! I might come back just for that. I also tried the salt and pepper shrimp which was good and their OG banh mi. I like the pate that was in it.

I love this place. It's good, consistent, and priced right. The place on South First is not as good as Le Bleu in my opinion. It's overpriced and overcrowded. If you want delicious food, support a local mom-and-pop, get down to Le Bleu, and go often. The whole menu is worth a try. I can't pick what's my favorite because it's all so good. They also have cocktails. Check it out, you'll thank me.

The Cavalier is a laid-back establishment with a warm atmosphere, offering a variety of craft beer, cocktails, wine, and Southern-inspired dishes. The venue takes its casual yet authentic approach to Southern comfort food seriously, infusing each dish with unique and flavorful ingredients. In response to the community's evolving needs, The Cavalier has expanded its offerings to include Backyard Picnic Kits, Meal Prep Kits, Family-Style Meals, and a Virtual General Store/Farmers Market.
Came to The Cavalier for wings and deviled eggs but arrived during brunch hours instead. No regrets—the chicken biscuit with spicy honey butter and chicken and waffles were outstanding. The waffle, surprisingly, was the highlight of the meal. Fried chicken was flavorful and well-seasoned. A solid beer selection and a decent cabernet blend made for a well-rounded meal. The outdoor seating was comfortable, with fans and misters to keep things cool. Would love to return for their regular menu!

You walk in and order from the bar and choose to leave the tab open or close out. It's self seating and they will give you a number and bring your ordered items out to you. I ate the deviled eggs and the gumbo. The deviled eggs were so creamy and delicious I only would of added more hot sauce for July liking but they were good. The gumbo was warm and flavorful, it had a lot of green chilies in so it was a little spicy.

We moved from Austin 7 years ago to retire in Mexico. The East Side was always “our area” and the section we called home in Austin. We come back to visit for a month or so each year and so much has changed in this city we love. While The Cavalier was not here when we left, it now welcomes us home each year when we return. It reminds us so much of the old Austin we love! Affordable, good tasting food, fantastic drinks that don’t break the bank and a kind caring staff who make you feel like family! A special thanks to Tom, Mike, Rachel, Charlotte & Hunter! Y’all made The Cavalier feel like our home away from home during our 2025 visit. Your kindnesses, service and great attitudes overwhelmed us this trip! Thanks for helping “Keep Austin Weird” and fabulous! See ya again next year! ❤️ Chuck & Tom

I'm posting a 2nd glowing review bc this place deserves it. So you could go to a bunch of steakhouses in Austin and spend 50+ dollars on a steak plate.... I would go out on a limb and say not only will you spend more money but you may not find as good as a steak that Kate will make you at The Cavalier on a Thursday night only. Prepare yourself for a fat and juicy perfectly prepared NY Strip steak with chimmichurri and butter on top. I hate how good the fries are bc I don't want to eat them and the chefs kiss of the meal is to split the rocket salad as an add on. Drinks were on point as always. Literally 5 star food for a 2 star cost. Keep doing what you are doing Cav- I hope the owners cherish how amazing of a staff they have ❤️

Roots Chicken Shak is a simple food court spot that offers duck-fat fried chicken, sandwiches, and classic sides. Customers rave about the delicious biscuits with spicy jelly and the Spicy Bird with sweet potato bun. The Duck Fat Fried Chicken Strips and Duck Fat fries are also highly recommended. Visitors appreciate the generous portions at reasonable prices, making it a great value for money.
FOOD HALL FOOD HAUL! After I ate here I was telling my sister how good the food is. She then told me it was created by a celebrity chef. All I know is they serve some of the tastiest chickens on the planet! The salad ruvals any I've ever had. Fresh greens and not all Iceberg either. Real greens. I've eaten her at least 4 times since July 2024. I'll be back in here for sure.

Roots Chicken Shak never disappoints! The Big Bird Chicken Sandwich is my favorite—juicy, flavorful, and served on a soft sweet potato bun with fresh toppings. The Duck Fat Fries are a must-try. Located inside the Mueller H-E-B food court, so there are plenty of great options around.

We have been wanting to come here for a very long time and it did not disappoint! It was so crispy, BIG, and perfectly priced. And the fact they cook with Duck Fat… it really makes it more healthy than other unhealthy oils. Top places in Austin for a chicken sandwich! Ordering was super easy from the kiosks and it was served quick. 🔥 🐓 💯 I did both the herb mayo and the kimchi mayo.

I looked up a place near where is was located and this place popped up. Once I seen it was inside of HEB I didn’t want to go in bc I wanted a place to set and eat but I went anyway. I love that it is a black owned business, great customer service employee explain what things where and there is actually a place to set and eat with a bar. Definitely recommend this place great chicken sandwich and fresh!
Marqueta J — Google review
If it’s wasn’t for the price I’d rate this lower, but it’s what you expect from a 8 dollar chicken sandwich. Wasn’t great wasn’t bad.. Average. I expected more based on the other reviews. The bread was a bit cold, didn’t care for the veggies, the chicken it self was heavily coated in batter but more batter than meat! But can’t complain for 8 dollars…
Shanky S — Google review
The Big Bird is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The sweet tea with mint is excellent as well! It's kind of a fun atmosphere too because you pick up the food and then can sit in the bar at HEB.

Im hoping that I caught you all on a bad day. I love fried whole wings. So I ordered 6 whole wings. These were the worst, so unseasoned with no flavor. I’m quite shocked, I’ve always been able to count on anything under the HEB umbrella so satisfy my appetite. Today, not so much. Very disappointed.

Little pricey but absolutely delicious chicken sandwich and fries. The salad was a little salty so I’d probably skip the anchovies next time. Definitely recommend!

decided to check out black sheep lodge out on a sunday for football. i was so happy i did. service was great, plenty of tvs with all the games on, my wings were tasty, and the atmosphere was electric with fans from all different teams. the only tough part is parking can be a little challenging when they are busy. for sure will be back!

One of the Best Experiences in Town! Black Sheep Lodge never disappoints! From the laid-back, welcoming vibe to the solid food and drink options, this place is an absolute gem. But what truly made our night unforgettable was the incredible service from Samantha, our server. Samantha was everything you could hope for—attentive, friendly, and on top of everything the entire time. She gave great recommendations, made sure our drinks stayed full, and brought a warm, upbeat energy to the table. You could tell she genuinely cared about making our experience awesome, and it made all the difference. If you’re heading to Black Sheep Lodge, ask for Samantha—she’ll make sure your visit is top-notch. Can’t wait to come back!

Second time here, my goodness the food is still amazing! It’s a dive bar with great food, great alcohol selections, great prices, TVs everywhere to watch sports, outdoor covered seating with TVs outside, pool tables, darts, and great service. Came here with my friends. You have to try the Nashville Dry Rub on your chicken. It has a nice kick, and the honey brings in a nice sweetness. Onion Rings are really crispy. The wings are crispy and perfectly sauced. Fries were great too! They loved it here as well. This is a MUST visit.

Pretty disappointed. I stopped by this place just today and I while o sat at the bar, it took 10 minutes before I decided to walk over to the well area and order a drink. After I got my drink I sat at a bar again, but then when I decided I wanted to order food I had to to the well area again to order. Which is fine if it was busy, but it wasn’t. I then got my food, which was pretty solid. Props to the chef. I then went to the bathroom and when I came back about 5 minutes later, all my food and drinks, which was a full cup of water and half a beer and about half my tater tots left were all gone. So I kinda feel like I was stolen from? I’m only in town for a week from Seattle, so I’ll be taking my business elsewhere than this spot. Weird vibes too

Such a good Austin dive bar! I love the vibe, be warned all the servers are really bad and very salty and with the exception of Hunter who is incredible, and honestly cares about the service you get! if he is there make sure you’re in his section and you’ll have a great time and enjoy his hospitality! Super regular here fyi!

I’ve went 3 times in a month as a new person to Austin. This time Gentleman server seemed annoyed we asked anything, rolled eyes, snickers, and just overall disrespectful. No dialogue. We were the only people on the patio. Burger was good. The margarita was super bitter and not sweet. Don’t ask if they have other margarita flavors then lime, they’ll roll their eyes at you. The second time I went it was 30 minutes we were told 2 times someone would find us at darts. Then they were upset we went to the bar at all to order a drink. Bad attitude as well from multiple workers. The first time my car got booted cause I’m new and there’s NO WHERE to park if anyone is there, also waited almost 30 minutes at the table before anyone came to us, even trying to flag down a server, the margarita was good. Felt more like a tourist attraction that’ll make you wait and not feel all that welcome. I’ll look elsewhere at this point.

Buffalo Wild Wings is a popular chain that specializes in serving up an array of delicious wings, tenders, and burgers, all complemented by a wide selection of sauces that range from sweet to fiery hot. Upon entering one of their locations, guests are often welcomed by friendly staff who guide them to comfortable seating. The menu boasts an impressive variety of wing flavors that can make choosing just one quite the challenge! With locations across the U.S., including New York, Texas, Washington D.C.
The food & service was really great today. The cauliflower wings were the absolute best thing ever! A must try!!!
Kris B — Google review
Took an hour to order food and another 30 minutes for food to come out. Came in for unlimited wings promo. Was charged full price for 30 wings. When asked what the reasons were for the full price charges, they claimed that the promo only was for 10 wings at a time in the fine print. Here is what the fine print entailed: “Dine in only Mon, thru Thurs. at particip. locs, for a lim. Tax & fees (inclServ.) extra. May not combine with other discounts or offers. Upcharges may apply. Lim. 1 per person/per order. Sharing prohibited and will void offer. Leftovers may not be packaged "to go." TM & © 2025.Buffalo Wild Wings” Manager was not helpful in resolving the matter and blamed slow service on being short staffed (couldn’t handle a dozen tables). If you enjoy a mismanaged restaurant, misleading promos, long waits on food and even longer waits to order, this is the place for you!

If you're heading to Buffalo Wild Wings and want to have an amazing experience, make sure you sit at the bar and ask for Alissa!!! Not only is she incredibly friendly and welcoming, but she also makes some of the best drinks I've ever had. You can tell she takes pride in her work! She is always attentive, fast, and knows how to keep the vibe just right whether it's game night or a casual hangout. Absolutely degusting, made me wait 20 minutes and still gave me old wings, with seasoning at the bottom. Three phone calls later, they tell me I can't get my money back. I paid cash,my refund should be cash. I Will NEVER return to Buffalo Wild on Parmer Lane

: Terrible service. I ordered two burgers, two Pepsis, and a beer, and later requested two portions of cheese, which never arrived. From the moment I got there, the place was very disorganized, I wasn’t given straws or napkins, and I had to wait over 30 minutes just to get the check. When I finally received it, they were charging me for the cheese I never received. After complaining, it took another 10 minutes to get the corrected bill with my change. I asked to speak with the manager, and her response was simply that “there was a party” and that “the cheese had already been removed from the bill.” Very poor experience; the staff was inattentive and disorganized, and management offered no real solution.

Ramen restaurant
Sazan Ramen is a trendy restaurant located in north Austin, offering a relaxed atmosphere and a contemporary setting. Known for its specialty ramen dishes and Japanese whiskey drinks, it has become a popular spot despite being relatively new. The chef's background at Michelin-rated restaurants adds to the appeal, and the sleek modern interior designed by Matthew Tsang provides an inviting space to enjoy their creamy paitan ramen.
Have been wanting to have some Ramen for a good while now. We actually were going to a different restaurant but they ended up being closed for spring break. A person in front of the store recommended this place and I am very happy they did started with chicken wings and waffle fries both of which were incredibly flavorful. Then went for the main course and was not disappointed in any way. The flavors were well blended and came nice and hot. Had a good spice but next time I would add an extra Spice Bomb to it. I definitely will come back and try again.

Thoroughly enjoyed all the menus we ordered. Loved the special salt mixture that complimented the ATX Tempura. The Paitan Ramen and Spicy Paitan Ramen actually had a very different flavor, would recommend trying both. Will be back!

Tasty, well balanced vegetarian ramen! Also got: tempura veggies & the waffle fries & not pictured: the vegan dumpling (that alone was not great). I got the GF noodle. Was perfect. Don’t forget the minced garlic on the side. Go for the very spicy with the oil, and it still will be a very tolerable spice level haha.

The Spicy Paitan ramen and katsu curry were really good - right on taste and balance of flavors. The service was great, they kept checking on us constantly about the food and if we needed anything else. Friendly staff and decent ambience for a casual dine-in.

Amanda with Offline - The restaurant served excellent dry rub spicy chicken wings, which were very flavorful. I also had the extra super spicy bomb ramen, and a Japanese whiskey flight. The combination of the spicy food and the whiskey was a fantastic experience. Will definitely return and recommend

Overall, 3.5 to 4 stars. Ramen soup base is tasty and creamy but a bit salty. Teriyaki chicken has too much sauce on it but the flavor is good. The lighting is too dark in the restaurant and the next table turned on their phone flashlight to look at the menus. The table surfaces were sticky ( we changed the table once and both tables were the same), suggest to resurface and paint primer over the tables.

Frazier's Long & Low is an adults-only bar with a laid-back atmosphere, pool tables, and a menu featuring burgers, wings, draft beer, and cocktails. It has a low-key vibe and is recommended for those looking for a relaxed spot to enjoy drinks and bar food. The seasoned fries are unique in shape and the chili cheese dog is highly recommended. However, it's worth noting that some items have high sodium levels. The bartender provides friendly and efficient service.
Great bar that plays awesome jams with some fantastic bar food. Got a coney, cheese burger and a Coors for $12. Daily specials on drinks and the food is very fairly priced. Fries are served as spiral spuds which I think was pretty cool and unique. They also had 2 pool tables, shuffle board and some shaded outside patio seating.$2 Coors on Thursday! Served in a frosted mug. Really can’t beat that deal anywhere in Austin.

Accessibility is almost perfect y’all need to put accessible parking poles on the two spots in front of your door and paint a no parking zone in front of your door because the only accessible spot in your lot is taken by the store next door who is clearly terrible about parking with all the signs. Accessible seating and restroom, yes. Accessible parking lot, no.

This place is slammin. After work it’s the best spot to get wings and a frosty beverage, specifically the Coors Banquet on tap is money. The staff is always friendly, even when they’re busy, and they’re busy a lot.

Frazier's is very popular among Industry people and I can understand why. The food is delicious and cheap, the drinks are strong and well made and tbh, it's nice to go to a bar where there aren't kids running around. It is not gourmet food, but it is darn tasty. The McD's style cheeseburgers are amazing and very successful facsimiles, the cheese fries were velveeta style, also delicious, and the wings were spot on also (buffalo and buffalo XXX sauce). We will be back.

First visit on a late night (9:30 pm) food recommendation. Tried several things, in fact, had a ton of left over food. Hot dog w/ grilled kraut was so good I’m already thinking about when I’m going back. Wings were yummy! All the food was super hot and fresh which was awesome for “bar food.” Cool vibe, great jukebox, friendly and helpful service. More of a bar than a late night food option but we will definitely be back!

Top favorite bar in town, with a great kitchen. They have fresh cooked bar food (none of that frozen pizza roll crap), a good beer selection, and quick/efficient service. They have two pool tables and one table shuffle board, so you can enjoy some game time while you grab a drink. The parking is pretty limited, so expect to search for street parking.

Chicken wings restaurant
Gossip Shack GRAND AVE is a top-secret spot known for its amazing chicken wings with over 50 flavors to choose from. The food is described as flavorful and satisfying, with crispy and well-seasoned chicken. Customers also praise the variety of seasonings available and the delicious waffles. While there have been occasional issues with orders, the service is consistently praised as excellent. Visitors recommend ordering in advance to enjoy freshly cooked food, highlighting the hot wings and tasty lemonade as standout menu items.
This was my first time trying Gossip Shack, and I was seriously impressed. The wings were super flavorful, crispy, and juicy—definitely lived up to the hype. I loved the variety of flavors, and the seasoning was on point. The staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back to try more flavors!
Saki'a R — Google review
Finally got out to the Gossip Shack to try their chicken wings and they did not disappoint. The only things that could’ve been better are the texture of the waffle, maybe unavoidable since it’s put inside of the to-go container underneath everything else and I guess the steam makes the waffle all soft and floppy it loses its crisp. Also, it’s not real maple syrup with the waffle. I ordered “THE BOMB” flavor wings which is savory/sweet not sure how to describe it but it lived up to its name it is the bomb. I love good onion rings and these are some delicious soft-crunchy battered thick slices of onion. I took a peek at the order before my drive home and was a little underwhelmed at the portion given the price so I was hoping that the quality and flavor would be on point and it certainly is. I’ll be going back to try out more wing flavors in the future!!

here is what you need to know before coming to this location finding it is 80% of the battle and then finding parking but once you accomplish those two things it is so worthwhile as their little hole in the wall family owned and operated they do chicken wings and waffles in one of their highlights is especially on weekends they stay open late for adults to hang out and more also keep in mind it only have one restroom and it is a small location with limited indoor dining area that being said it's more of a pickup to go location with what the owner said was over 50 choices to choose from from your chicken wings count to combined with your signature waffle that they make and that is what makes this place so special and different tried the occasion ring and our barbecuing and a parmesan wing and they also make everything in house even their ranch which was absolutely delicious and went well with all the wings reasonably priced their wings are actually a great value for the bang for the bud cuz they're actually large wings not small wings which is a big big highlight here I want to point out I will definitely be back to twice some of their spicier flavors along with their waffles! also they have things for the daytime for the kids and family which I've highlighted in my pictures including all kinds of little props and things you can take pictures with with the family and enjoy when they're not too busy :) handicap accessible but once again just keep in mind getting here and then finding parking cuz it's a shared parking with like 10 other locations in this little shopping area and makes it a little tricky to get in and out of here but once you can get here and find it so totally worth it and highly recommend it :)

Food was amazing! The fried waffle tasted just like a funnel cake 🧇 and the chicken tenders were perfect. Lost a star for not having any water and the lobby had little to no air circulation.(Also recommend the lobster Mac,chicken wings, and dirty rice)

First time here and I got the chicken with the dirty rice and some lemonade. Customer service was on point. I got the spicy Kenya flavor , it is very tolerable it isn’t overbearing with spice so if you like spicy food you will like them. Chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly , dirty rice was also a hit. Nothing to fancy just good dirty rice like grandma a make. While writing this review , my girl said “this the type of shit you close your eyes and eat” she had the fish , shrimp , fries , and hush puppies. I don’t even like hush puppies but I enjoyed theirs. Egg rolls were also fire. Not from out here but would try again.

New to TX so we are always exploring the many restaurants. My husband found this place and we decided to give it a try. Drove about 20 minutes around 1pm on a Tuesday. Not busy at all, but they had several online orders ahead of us. Greeted right as we came in. She asked if we had ever been there before, we said no and she proceeded to describe the food options. She said a lot because there are a lot of options for flavors . We decided on the 6 wing combo, I got dirty rice and my husband got fries. I got garlic parmasean and jerk, my husband got jalepeno CPR and he couldn't remember the other. We also got a waffle on the side and he got banana pudding. The wait was about 20min but All of the food was good! Fresh and flavorful! The cost was typical for what we got. The atmosphere was great, nice chill RandB playing on this day. We will go back! Thanks Gossip!

Ordered for the first time tonight and the wings are way too big. I ordered honey hot and there was no honey hot flavor on them. They aren’t saucy at all. They are full of straight up oil. The dirty rice is good and spicy but the wings are an absolute no.

CM Smokehouse, situated at Bouldin Acres, offers a diverse range of food options in a vibrant atmosphere. The service is usually good, and the outdoor seating adds to the appeal. However, some visitors have found the prices to be higher than expected for items such as burgers. Additionally, parking can be challenging due to limited space on the premises. Despite this, many patrons appreciate the delicious food offerings and enjoy the experience of dining at CM Smokehouse.
Are you kidding? What a hidden gem. We had the amazing Sweet chilli ribs and the brisket crunch wrap. And it made it to the table so quick, ordering was so swift and easy as well. We also had amazing mules at the bar next to the truck. 10/10 experience you won’t regret stopping by.

The flavors were bold, the portions generous, and the hospitality from the staff was the cherry on top. You can tell they care about the food and the experience. Honestly, we might start showing up at Bouldin Acres on the regular just for another hit of CM Smokehouse. It’s that serious.

CM Smokehouse was great! The atmosphere was fun, the service was very fast, and the food was amazing. We ordered food, I got an elk burger and fries which was amazing, and it came out within 10 minutes AND it was super busy. Along with that, the food was so good and priced reasonably for what it was. There was a pickle ball court and a bar if you wanted to have some fun with some friends. Great spot and would high recommend to locals or people visiting!

This place was recommended by Kill Tony so my wife and I gave it a shot. BIG MISTAKE. Confusing place. Had to ask 3 people (including the bar tender) to locate the food truck, that doesn’t say anything about bbq, to read a sign that says we need to sit at the bar and scan a qr code access the menu. The Menu was sparse and pricey. We ordered the tiniest, most dry, sorry excuse for a brisket sandwich. It was like a brisket slider that they added toppings to in order to give it some sort of flavor. Also, seems like they had Salt Bae in the kitchen over salting everything. Not real texas BBQ. In fact im convinced it wasn’t real at all. On top of everything they slapped a pretty hefty automatic gratuity. Do yourself a favor and go to Terry Blacks instead, its 5 minutes away.

Excellent food and dessert. The ramen is a Wednesday special and definitely worth getting. I've tried a lot of the menu items over several visit and am never disappointed. Wish I lived more south so I can come more often.
Charles I — Google review
Let's start with the bad before the good. First off, I had to ask 3 people if they closed or moved because their food truck located in the front of the building is empty and not used anymore. Tip 1: They use a food truck labeled with another restaurant name in the back of Bouldin Acres. Gringo something. Tip 2: If you want to walk up and order, you can at the bar in the back. Just ask for a menu. Speaking of tips, they add a MANDATORY 20% tip. Tipping is already out of control, but these establishments that charge a mandatory tip with little to no service are highway robbery. You order on your phone, they bring you the food, and there's no communication after that. For a brisket crunchwrap, biscuit sandwich, a kids meal, and a cinnamon roll with 2 soft drinks it was $100 with their mandatory tip. The good: The crunchwrap was above average. The brisket was juicy and the veggies tasted fresh. That said, the $23 price tag was not worth it imo. I'd rather go to a well established BBQ spot and get a brisket sandwich for 25% less that would have more meat and taste even better. The bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit was the star of the show. Homemade biscuit was great and everything inside was perfectly cooked besides the egg yolk which was not runny, but more like a yolk of a boiled egg. That didnt deter me or my girlfriend from devouring it though. The coleslaw was also fresh and flavorful. Nice on a hot summer day. The bad (again) The cinnamon roll looked nothing like the videos on IG. There was barely any icing and the dough was a bit hard/tough to chew through. We did come near the end of brunch, but I have been to Cranky Grannys all times of day and their cinnamon rolls are always UNREAL fresh. I hate giving lower stars for reasons other than the food, but the pricing and tip is a bit ridiculous. If we didn't have a kid and two dogs with us, we would've just went to another place to eat. EDIT: The owner says it's not mandatory. I won't be going back to find out, but if it's not, the 20% tip is AUTOMATICALLY applied and is in smaller text to change so its harder to notice... because I didn't. It's sad the owner won't default it to no tip (because I know you can do so) and allow people the choice to tip if they want to.

Korean barbecue restaurant
Chi'Lantro is a vibrant modern eatery that beautifully marries Korean and Mexican cuisines, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Known for its mouthwatering Korean BBQ tacos, delectable rice bowls, and the ever-popular kimchi fries, this spot offers an exciting twist on traditional flavors. The atmosphere is casual yet inviting, perfect for gathering with friends or family to enjoy a unique dining experience.
This was a last-minute stop before my flight out, and I am so glad I came by! Absolutely delicious! I got the K'Pop chicken bowl and my husband got the tofu bowl, then we split some steak kimchi fries. So incredible and became one of my favorite stops this trip. 😊

The meat was tough and stringy like it had been there for ever. They were out of fries and wings an hour before close which was fine. But there was a huge idle of water on the floor and I put their wet floor sign up. It was my first time trying this place if the lady wasn’t so friendly I would have just left. I think it’s worth giving it another due to the veggie combo being so delicious.
Oui A — Google review
I always try to hit Chi'Lantro when I'm in town as I've been a fan since it started as a food truck. I was a bit worried with the 'new' slick look and wondered if the food had suffered. From my memory, this doesn't appear to be the case and I really enjoyed my K'Pop bowl - straight up. A good amount of heat and solid flavours, so I'd definitely recommend it. It does feel like the menu has been pared back but the famous kimchi fries are still here.
Lee B — Google review
A Korean BBQ Serenade I can get down with. Forget fleeting salads; we're diving deep into the soulful flavors of Korea, kissed with a modern twist. Those kimchi fries? A revelation! Crispy, tangy, a touch spicy – they're the rebellious cousins of your humdrum potato. And the bowls? Picture this: tender marinated meats nestled amongst vibrant vegetables, a harmonious blend that sings on your tongue. It's a culinary joyride, a flavor explosion that leaves you grinning like a Cheshire cat. The checkout is lightning fast, a testament to their well-oiled machine. And the staff? Consistently friendly, like chatting with old pals. Seating? Always a comforting sight, a guaranteed spot in the lunchtime chaos. Four stars. It’s a reliable, flavorful adventure that consistently hits the spot.

I got the buy one get one free deal here for me and my roomate and the food was gone in less than 10 minutes. Gas but could use more meat

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I wish I could give more than five stars! Before I even tried the Chi’Lantro B'Bimbap bowl (#1) I was blown away by the kindness and insight that all of the employees showed me. I had questions about the menu and they were happy to tell me anything. Once they knew I was traveling and in town for business they they made sure to let me know about all of the places to go in Austin whether it was restaurants, the library, or other attractions (Barton Springs). The food was delicious, the combination of flavors incredible! I got a side of the customer favorite Magic Sauce and it didn’t disappoint. I was going to try the Verde Ranch, but it wasn’t ready yet which tells me that they make it fresh. I would definitely recommend this place.

I loved this cute little spot! They have great bowls and good service! I tried the chicken which tasted like honey chicken and he korean bbq which was really good! We surprisingly couldn't finish our bowls so theyre more filling than they look. Their queso is also fabulous!

Restaurant
Home Slice Pizza is a popular spot in Austin, known for its thin-crust slices and pies available for dining in or carry out, especially open late for takeaway on weekends. It's a go-to place for Northeast transplants seeking an authentic New York-style pie with the distinct aroma of cheese and tomato sauce. The classic Pepperoni and Mushroom slice is a favorite, while the White Clam Pizza offers a unique twist with chopped clams and garlic.
This place was incredible! I glad I found a great place to go when I need to get a good slice of pizza. I love the salad, I chose Pear Gorgonzola and I LOVED, highly recommend! Then the pizza came: half White Pie With Spinach and half white clam pizza. I we enjoy the combination. The service was great, she gave us options and offer the different drinks options, we ended up with lemonade which was really good. Finally, the place it's cozy, a bit dark inside but you can seat inside and outside (based on availability).

Want to start off by saying the restaurant itself is very cozy. Choice of booths, sitting at the bar, or a normal table. I’m a sucker for a booth so that’s what I went with. Milo who was my server was most pleasant and helpful with suggestions being my first time here. Had a beer to go along with the pizza and was pleasantly surprised. Initially just ordered a slice of pepperoni but after falling in love with that, and the server giving me a slice of sausage and garlic pizza I decided to take a box back to the hotel. Beer was incredible, pizza was out of this world and as my pops said “best pizza I’ve ever had”. Service was also outstanding and the atmosphere in general is great. Wish I lived here so I could be a regular of the place. Long story short this is the spot to go to if you’re in Austin and want a legit pizza!

Home Slice Pizza 🍕 My favorite NY style pizza in Austin. My cousin’s band Wiretree played here during one SXSW so I have fond memories of that but I have been visiting this restaurant for over a decade. It is a great place to just stop in for a slice. They now have a 2nd location next door so even more capacity. I have always had a great meal here and it is a mandatory stop on my visit. Giant slices and a wide variety of toppings as well. I will add more pictures of the food soon but suffice it to say this is a beloved spot for me when I am in ATX.

If you're craving top-tier pizza, this is the place to be! The food is good, pizza is great and they have one of those mozzarella cheese container things on tables, they also had great dessert but it is filling. Service is solid, the staff is friendly and quick, though during peak hours, you might wait a bit. Still, their upbeat attitude makes up for any delay. As for the atmosphere, it’s dim but I oddly like it, it’s a fun spot whether you’re dining in with friends or grabbing a quick bite. Overall: 4.7/5 — Highly recommend! Home Slice lives up to the hype.

Found the best pizza joint in Austin!!! Pizza was delicious and staff was so friendly made us feel right at home. 8 in this family and they didn't complain about our noise. Great place to eat highly recommended HOME SLICE South Congress. DEFINITELY coming back here when we come back to Austin!!!! Classic pepperoni can't go wrong, margherita pizza finger licking good!!!!
Manny — Google review
Homeslice came highly recommended, but I found it to be overpriced and mediocre. Pizza is my all-time favorite food, so I consider myself to be a bit of an expert in the field of marinana, mozzarella, and crust. Homeslice is all hype. First, parking is a mess. It's impossible to find a spot in the restaurant's lot, and you have to park way far away in an adjacent neighborhood. It only costs $2 to park, but still a pain. The line for a slice was crazy, but we got in it. They moved the line quickly. Since it was our first time and we wanted to sample several things, we ordered a slice of pepperoni, a slice of cheese, and a small Italian sub. After jockeying for position, we finally got a place to sit after waiting almost 15 minutes. They have seating on an outdoor patio, which has to be unpleasant on hot, humid days. It took a long time to get our order, and we waited nearly 30 minutes after ordering. An employee came out and screamed out name, and we had our noms. Even at first glance, the pizza slices looked disappointing. Not only were they small, but they were clearly lacking enough cheese. So many bites had no cheese at all! Pizza needs plenty of cheese, people! The sauce and crust had absolutely no flavor. It needed some garlic, salt, oregano, something, ANYTHING! The pepperoni was particularly gross. It tasted like a wet dog smells. Barf. It went unfinished. The Italian sub looked good, but was mediocre. The only thing it had going for it was the toasted bread. Other than that, you can get far better sandwiches just about anywhere except Subway. For how pricey this place was, I can't believe the high reviews and ratings. Maybe Austin locals aren't picky about their pizza, but I would never come back to eat here. Ya'll are crazy to think this is a good restaurant.
L M — Google review
The crust on our pizza was cooked perfectly, and we liked the amount of cheese. The service we received was good. The garlic knots were tasty, and the garden salad was huge!
Heather C — Google review
Monday evening we were pleasantly surprised to be seated quickly as this place is always busy and for good reason. We ordered a large pizza: 1/2 eggplant (thinly sliced) pizza and 1/2 pepperoni with mushrooms baked to a thin crust perfection (chef's kiss). We shared a large caesar salad that came with a garlic bread knot with an additional order of marinara sauce. Customer service was exceptionally courteous which makes the dining experience even more. The ambience is really nice and spacious. We did go for the gusto and got tiramisu to share and it was worth it.

Lucy's Fried Chicken is a popular spot in Austin, known for its upscale take on Southern comfort food. The restaurant is housed in a refurbished old building and features oversized patios with great views of Lake Travis. With multiple locations across the city, Lucy's has been serving up Southern-fried favorites for over ten years. Guests can enjoy made-from-scratch sides and fresh cocktails, including their signature Front Porch Tea.
We had Lucy’s Fried Chicken cater our wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice! The food was absolutely delicious—so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. The fried chicken, sides, and everything else were cooked to perfection. The service was also top-notch. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly, making sure everything went smoothly. They took care of the chair setup for the ceremony and the table settings, and it exceeded my expectations. They truly helped make our day memorable, and we’re so grateful for their hard work. We highly recommend Lucy’s Fried Chicken for any event!

I was super excited to come try this place. We started w/the oysters and the fried deviled eggs. They were okay. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and he said it was okay, but not the best he’s had. My daughter ordered the Chicken Caesar salad and really enjoyed it. Her boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak and l loved it. I had the chicken tenders and waffles. Personally for me the chicken lacked flavor and the waffles were pretty hard and dry, despite a beautiful presentation. We also ordered the S’Mores pie and banana pudding. The chocolate s’mores was way too sweet and rich for my taste, but my daughter and her boyfriend liked it. My hubby and I shared the banana pudding, it looked amazing and delicious, but it had no sweet taste at all. So one was too sweet and one lacked flavor. The overall atmosphere is nostalgic and tucked away from the busy street. Our server was excellent.

If you are ever in south Austin, stop in and eat at Lucy's Fried Chicken. It has a laid-back atmosphere and delicious food. We tried the deep-fried deviled eggs, chicken and waffles, and the drunk catfish sandwich. All were excellent choices. The catfish filet on the sandwich was enough for two sandwiches. It was seasoned perfectly and fried crisp. Chicken and waffles were a hit with delicious tenders and two great-tasting waffles with honey butter.

Multiple items on the menu are amazing. I’ve come here a bunch of times before, but never left a review. Today I ordered the Kinky Club and I absolutely loved it. It’s a large sandwich with a side of kettle chips, which I switched for fries. I could only eat about half of the food, but I’m looking forward to finishing it up tomorrow for lunch.
Elizabeth F — Google review
This was our first timehere and Lucy's did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken and waffles and they were delicious. The waffles were the perfect amount of chewy and crunchy. The chicken was very flavorful. My other only wish is that I had some real maple syrup to go along with this culinary delight. Instead I received a packet of syrup sauce. I ate my waffles dry after my first bite with the sauce was disappointing. Still the meal was good. The cocktails were great and the service was awesome.

Order -Bucket of Chicken (3 out of 5) - chicken sandwich ( 5 out of 5) - onion rings ( 3 out 5 ) salty - fries (4 out 5) - cornbread ( 4.5 out 5) Service was good only the server dropped tea on me and did not apologize but besides that it was good. The bathroom was discussing pee everywhere and was nasty, making me want to throw up after eating there. The restaurant outside smells bad and needs to be cleaned, I guess for Austin is ok standards-wise, would I go back probably not. Even though they had a good pecan pie.
Mex P — Google review
We've been regulars at Lucy's for years now, it has never disappointed. If anything, it has gotten better. First of all, the chicken is phenomenal. The crust is just the right amount of crispy. We always get a bucket even if it is just the two of us. Cold or warmed up leftovers is just fine for us. We are true aficionados of the finest fried chicken. Now, that is just the beginning. Where Lucy's truly excels is in the side offerings. Of course they have a wonderful fried okra, but it's even better when it is paired with the coleslaw. Lastly, if you have any room left for dessert? Just do it. Remember, you can always take it home if you can't finish. Either way, you win!
K. R — Google review
Lucy’s catering did a phenomenal job at our October 2024 wedding!!! They handled all the setup and breakdown and did everything perfectly and with efficiency. Not to mention they are very competitively priced versus other full service caterers in the Austin area. Cristina was so sweet and easy to work with leading up to our day! She was extremely communicative and patient even when I had a million questions/ menu changes. Most importantly - the food was absolutely spectacular. People still make a point to tell us how amazing the food was and multiple professional chefs who were our guests told me it was “the best wedding food they’ve ever had.” The grilled vegetables were a stand out as well! My husband and I are both foodies but still wanted to honor our Texas roots at our wedding. They helped us craft a menu that was both upscale and true to us. Going to oyster bars and attending oyster tastings was a big part of our dating life and we really wanted to incorporate that at our wedding - which is ultimately why we went with Lucy’s. We had the raw oyster bar for cocktail hour and our guests adored it and we also heard multiple compliments about the shucker on staff. 10/10 highly recommend Lucy’s for your wedding or event!

With its quirky surroundings and family-friendly atmosphere, Deckhand Oyster Bar aims to provide moderately priced seafood while ensuring a relaxed dining experience for all patrons.
Love coming to new places that are great in every way. My wife and I were encouraged by friends to come here, and from the first bite of the shrimp satay, we knew this was a winner. As soon as we took that bite, we knew this was going to be a great meal. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. HIGHLY recommend the shrimp satay as a starter.

First time visiting and service was cool the environment was nice, happy people enjoying food. In my opinion the food was a NO GO! Everything I ordered was unseasoned, no touch of soul was added at any point. Oyster’s was decent I give it a 5 . My waitress was kind and helpful. Don’t recommend if you like, love seasoned food

Deckhand Oyster Bar is a must-visit for fresh, flavorful seafood in Austin! The service is super friendly and welcoming, which made our experience even better. We ordered the huge raw oysters plate—fresh and perfectly chilled—along with a rich cup of seafood gumbo, steamed shrimp, crispy calamari, and golden hush puppies. Everything was delicious! Surprisingly, the buffalo bone-in wings were a standout too—packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. Great food, great vibe—we’ll definitely be back!

If you've never had Deckhands you in for a true treat. Food portions are large which is a win in my book. But the flavors of literally EVERYTHING on the menu are Freaking FANTASTIC! The fried platters are always cooked perfectly and have a true unique flavor. Their Asian infusion throughout the options standout in the best of ways! Ive tried multiple plates and have yet to have a single bad bite across the options. I could eat here once a week and never get burned out! *I've been to both locations but the one on South Lamar has changed owners and the name is now Ocean Blue. So you're best bet is the Deckhands up north off Louis Henna.

Sat outside even though it was a bit hot. The waitress told us it was quite noisy inside. Service was pretty good. The food was tasty and the ice tea was plentiful. Caution if ordering the fried rice: The portion is enormous. You'd best be hungry or have 2-3 friends to share.

I really love the papaya salad here, so every time I visit Austin, I make sure to stop by this restaurant. The oysters are very fresh, and the crawfish tastes great as well. I visited around late March, so the crawfish were still small. I highly recommend coming during the peak seafood season for the best experience.

Hands down the best Pad Thai I've ever eaten. And I've eaten that at many places. Balancing sweetness with spice is a difficult thing to do. Deckhand does it just right. The crawfish had a distinctive asian flavor. Come to find, the owners are Korean. Very flavorful.

Wings 'N More is a popular Texas mini-chain that specializes in Buffalo-style hot wings and offers a variety of American-style cuisine. In addition to their flavorful wings, the restaurant serves classic options like onion rings and ribs. The friendly atmosphere and great service make it a go-to spot for dining in or catching a game on one of the many TVs. Customers rave about the delicious wing flavors, such as buffalo and honey barbecue, as well as other menu items like chicken and waffles.
We had a great experience at Wings N More! The food was delicious and definitely worth the wait. Our waitress was super attentive, checking in on us regularly and making sure we had everything we needed. Even though the food took a little longer than expected, the vibes were chill and my party didn’t mind hanging out. The general manager, Yadi, also stopped by to check on us—she was friendly, professional, and clearly knows her stuff. Overall, awesome service and a solid spot for good eats and good times!

Poor quality wings. The flavor was there but the wings taste a tad bit old, as if they had been sitting under the heating lamp all night. Great customer service but the Chilli Cheese Fries was 3/10
Ross D — Google review
I only had a takeout experience here, but it was pretty good. When I walked through the front door, I was directed to the back wall with the double windows to place to-go orders. Once I placed my order, it didn't take long for it to come out. Food: I had Homemade Onion Rings and 15-piece wings with Lemon Pepper, Medium, and Garlic Parmesan. The Onion Rings were thin-cut and lightly battered, but they still had a nice crunch to them, too. The wings were no frills or thrills, but they were classics, so it would be great if someone were craving wings like I was. My favorites were the Medium Buffalo flavor and Lemon Pepper. I liked the spicy and tangy flavors of the buffalo and the sharp tang from the lemon pepper, so those hit the spot. The garlic parmesan was more plain and less flavorful, so it was my least favorite. Overall, now that I have had the wings, I would go back to either more Wings or try the "N' More" part of the menu, lol. They have so many options, and they have Happy Hours. Another customer getting takeout told me their Margaritas were good, too.

Not sure why I’ve never gave this place a try, but the wings were saucy, flavorful, and fried hard. I loved how the onion rings were light and crunchy; not too greasy. The music selection was 🔥🔥, just like the wings! Can’t remember our waitresses name, but she was nice and professional. We visited on a Friday afternoon and service was fast. 10/10

I think I waited too long to post this review. I have visited this particular restaurant for about 18 years now. Their chicken tender combo used to be really good all round until recent years. Just spent $52.69 for a 30 Crew Pack with delivery fees $71.59. I'm so disappointed with this order. Wings tasted like they were reheated instead of being fresh. We eat at a Wingstop frequently and never have had any issues.

This location is in serious need of a more competent night manager. The current one appears unable to delegate tasks effectively, which is resulting in poor service. On two separate occasions, I have visited this location only to find the front desk staff placing every incoming call on hold indefinitely, without actually answering or taking orders. It is evident that the staff is struggling with basic multitasking. Taking a phone order and handling in-person customers should be done in rotation; it is not complicated. Simply saying “we’re busy” is not an acceptable excuse, especially when I observed multiple opportunities for the team to manage both channels more efficiently. In contrast, the Ed Bluestein location operates with fewer staff and still manages to fulfill orders significantly faster. There is no reason this location should not be able to do the same with proper management and training.

The floors were sticky, and it smelt like rotting eggs yesterday day, I went to get food. The lady who took my order was rude and mean she even kept money for herself. I paid 15 something, and the change was not correct. I lost 3.30. I paid with a 20 dollar bill, and she was racist toward me. And she said the food would be ready in 10 min it took 45min all I order was 6 wing combo. And when I left, I heard that kid is so annoying, like I just said what I wanted and left. And don't get me started on the food. The soda machine had no syrup for the drink it was just topo Chico, and the fries were burnt, but at least some of the wings were good ranch was good... honestly, I wish this place would get shut down

Kinda Tropical, located on 7th Street in East Austin, is a relaxed hot spot with a pet-friendly patio where you can enjoy light bites and plates along with cocktails, beer, or wine. The restaurant is owned and operated by veterans from Austin's music and service industries who prioritize building a sense of community. The establishment used to be a gas station but now offers a laid-back atmosphere for patrons to unwind.
Had a great relaxing lunch in the outdoor seating area at Kinda Tropical. My wife and I shared the yucca fries, and the smoked turkey and sweet potato bowl. Both were excellent. The staff at the bar were awesome and friendly and same with the guy circulating in the Seating area. Lots of fans to keep everybody somewhat cool, and a giant red oak tree providing shade, along with umbrellas over some of the tables. The outdoor seating area is set back from the street a bit and surrounded partially by vines and plants. Pleasant environment.

First time here and really like this space. Converted gas station. Lots of seating inside and tons outside in break. Great looking area. Smoking friendly outside. That said, I ordered the breakfast tacos and they were quite poor. Flour tortillas weren't warmed up or crisped and really need it. A little too thin and lacked flavor. Had bacon and egg and fake chorizo and egg. Nether filling was great, but not bad. Bacon one needed more filling. Rating this a 4 star because I really like the vibe of this place and my friends did was better. I'll come again. But... I won't get these tacos again.

Kinda Tropical is everything you want in a chill Austin hangout spot. The vibe is laid-back but full of character — think tropical patio meets artsy industrial with plants everywhere and colorful touches that feel super inviting. The food? Absolutely hits the spot. Their small plates are perfect for sharing, and the flavors are fresh and creative. I especially loved the fries with house-made dipping sauces — simple, but done right. Great cocktails, too! You can tell they care about what they’re serving. It’s also surprisingly spacious, with both indoor and patio seating, making it ideal for any kind of hang — solo work session, date night, or catching up with friends. And bonus: it’s wheelchair accessible and open until midnight, which is a rare combo. If you’re anywhere near East 7th, don’t miss this place. It’s got that effortlessly cool Austin vibe down to a science.

Get the yucca fries. And be prepared for very friendly sparrows . Really hope this place keeps the native grapevine growing on its back fence. It provides such an ugly lovely shelter for the sparrows and blocked the view way better than the star Jasmine

My kids and I shared a burger, curly fries, and fruit bowl. The burger was excellent and both sides were large quantities and very tasty. Also had a good cold brew coffee and OJ for the toddler. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Inside and outside spaces both seemed good; we chose AC. Everything gave a chill and positive feel, but our drinks came out before we left the counter and the meal was out rapidly - but clearly fresh. Great lunch spot.

We visited Kinda Tropical for lunch as a group of three and had a great experience. The place has a cozy, laid-back vibe with a nice dining space and a welcoming backyard that adds to the charm. We tried the chicken sandwich, Thai coconut salad, and sesame salad. The chicken sandwich was decent, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for us, so I’d give it 3 stars. The Thai coconut salad was flavorful and refreshing, earning a solid 4 stars. The real standout was the sesame salad, which was fresh, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious – definitely deserving of 5 stars. Overall, Kinda Tropical offers a relaxed atmosphere and some standout dishes that make it worth a visit, especially if you’re looking for a chill spot to enjoy a meal with friends.

I had to order a second one to savor the limited time I can spend at this establishment. In your first precious moment of biting into this sandwich, you will have a brief moment for your hindbrain to think, "Wow, that's a good bun!" However, the instant your teeth reach the crispiest tofu you've ever encountered, you will enter pure, primal, animal shock. I pray you have your wits about you as you take your first bite, lest you lose yourself. Savor this spirit-shaking moment, and then rejoice as you discover that you can experience it again, and again, and again, as each bite rocks your central nervous system just as the first did.
Noah T — Google review
My friends and I came here and the two of us who ordered first paid in cash. The lady with a bun who took our order said “we’ve got a bunch of no-tippers over here” while my friend was looking for cash in her wallet for the tip jar. She ordered one $5 taco, by the way. There were five of us wanting to order so my friend and I stepped aside to allow others to order since there was a tip jar on the counter. I thought this was very unprofessional, especially since we are students and my friend was looking for cash. Also, when I got my salad, there was a clump of hair on the lettuce. This experience made me not want to come back.

Fried chicken takeaway
Spicy Boys Fried Chicken is a food truck located in East Austin, offering a unique Pan-Asian fusion menu. The menu features items like chongqing chicken with numbing sichuan peppercorns, tots with togarashi and bonito, and a mapo chili dog made with mapo tofu. Customers can also enjoy Thai-inspired sandwiches, wings, and more for takeout or delivery. The level of spice can be customized to suit individual preferences.
Absolutely delicious fried chicken. Great small menu with variety of chicken options. I got spicy salad with chicken wings. It was absolutely amazing, the seasoning on chicken is very unique. It’s a bit spicy, but has a Smokey sweet almost cinnamon like flavor. So so good. Would come back. Really great that it’s at a brewery so you can grab a bite and drink to enjoy outside.
Polina G — Google review
Very cute spot by Zilker Brewery! I really enjoyed the fusion and found its various spice levels to be ranked appropriately (naturally, as a weakling, I picked nuggets with a spice level of 1). Staff seemed disinterested in answering questions about the menu, but the food was great! It's a very fun place everyone should try at least once. I would recommend the nuggets or the sandwich - the tots were a mixed bag for my party.
Kaitlyn M — Google review
Oh my god, the best freaking fried chicken nuggets ive ever had in my life - and i try alot of food in Austin. So crunchy yet tender and heavily seasoned. Never tried anything with such bold flavors before. You have to try the classic boneless nuggets with spicy mayo. I got two orders cuz of how addicting it was. Not bad for the price too!
A ( — Google review
Yummy Asian fusion flavors! I literally drank the curry sauce. Papaya salad was ok but it helped balance out the whole meal. Outdoor seating and next to a brewery which allows you to eat inside and use their restrooms. Perfect for lunch or weekend hangouts.
Heidi — Google review
Tasty high-quality, spicy fried chicken that pairs very well with the beer from Zilker brewery (right beside). Very friendly service too (Juan, I think, was very helpful).
Jorge R — Google review
Went on a Friday afternoon while grabbing beers at Zilker Brewing next door. The food was ready quickly, portions were large for the price, and everything was delicious. The seating area was nice so we didn’t have to compete with the brewery crowd while we ate. Highly recommend!
Judith T — Google review
We tried the Hot Gai sando, papaya salad, and roti + curry—and they did not disappoint. The chicken was the star dish: crispy, juicy, and tender. I would eat it without the buns if I could because it’s just banging. The papaya salad was light and refreshing. The roti was warm and crispy. We got the yellow curry, which I thought was too sweet. Overall, we would come back again when our fried chicken craving kicks in.
Phyllis T — Google review
Spicy Boys Fried Chicken is a food truck parked in the large open space in front of Zilker Brewing Company and Taproom. There are long picnic tables for dining, and they provide wet cloths to wipe your hands—which came in handy since their plastic fork was too weak to even pierce the chicken and melted from the heat. 5-Piece Fried Chicken ($10.99): Drums & thighs with classic seasoning, chili oil, sweet chili honey, crispy shallots, cilantro, and scallion. The chicken had too much batter, and the Thai flavors didn’t come through. It lacked the depth and aroma that would have elevated the chicken. Tingly Tots ($3.98): Sichuan-seasoned tater tots. These were surprisingly good! The seasoning was subtle, and the tots were perfectly crispy. I enjoyed these a lot more than the fried chicken. Tingly Sichuan & Spicy Ranch ($0.49): Whoa—the Sichuan really set my tongue on fire! It was flavorful, but be prepared for a lingering heat (and possibly a hot tummy later).

If you're on the hunt for a vibrant dining experience in Austin, look no further than Lao'd Bar. This exciting new Laotian restaurant has taken over the space previously occupied by the beloved SXSE food truck, which was known for its mouthwatering offerings like chicken thigh skewers and crispy fried rice. Now, under the guidance of Chef Bob Somsmith, Lao'd Bar boasts an expanded menu that includes not only these fan favorites but also a variety of cocktails and beers to complement your meal.
You are in for a treat here. The crispy fried rice is delicious. Excellent flavors and textures. The restaurant has a bright and comfortable vibe. We’re so happy for the success of Chef Bob and his wife.
Carolyn B — Google review
Laod Bar is such a gem in Austin — not only are the cocktails incredible, but the food completely blew me away. Every dish had layers of flavor that felt creative yet comforting, the kind of food you can tell is made with passion. The chef’s talent really shines through in the details, from the way everything is plated to how the flavors balance each other out. Pair that with the laid-back vibe and friendly bartenders, and it’s honestly one of the most memorable spots I’ve been to in Austin.
Mariah W — Google review
Casual restaurant in a cute eclectic location. You order at the counter and sit either in the dining room, at the bar or outside. Fantastic drinks at good prices. The food is good, but a bit pricey especially for counter service. A bit too much red onion in the dishes we ordered: Papaya Salad, Coconut Escolar Ceviche, and the Shrimp Lahb... the Fried Whole Prawns were good, but not exceptional. The Shrimp Lahb was not spicy enough. Honestly the chicken wings and the ribs looked really good, but I do not eat warm blooded creatures. So this is not a whole encompassing review, only limited to the items we ordered.
Janna K — Google review
An incredible surprise in every way. We went to sign bar and noticed this place next door. Did not expect some of the best food I’ve had in Austin with great counter service and a cute environment. You could tell the frozen ube was handmade. The waterfall ribeye and spring rolls were to die for. The coconut ceviche was a perfect summer treat. They had an aged lamb chef special that had a complex, balanced funk to it that we loved. We met the chef and he was clearly passionate about Laotian cuisine and techniques, but the fact that it’s such an approachable spot with a reasonable price point is a feat in 2025. We even got two frozen ubes to go. Go there NOW before it becomes a viral destination ☺️
Max — Google review
There’s still opportunity for improvement with Google and how the restaurants are categorized. This isn’t the first time I’ve gone somewhere because of glowing reviews and it was nothing like what I perceived. It’s difficult because most places in Austin are “casual”, even the fine dining venues. However, there needs to be a way we can distinguish places that are more of a lunch vibe or an in and out place. For Lao’d, I envisioned something more in line with a Bar Tote or an upscale bar/restaurant combo. I was wrong. It’s metal chairs with some outdoor seating and a very casual Tiki bar atmosphere. The food was ok but not fabulous. The smash burger and pork bao bun were good but the fried wonton were all fried together (see photo) with no flavor. The ceviche super bland as well. We went on a Saturday at 5:30 and were the only people at the bar and 1 other family at a table. Super surprising after all the hype I’ve read recently. Very cute, “casual” area with food trucks and another bar. No non alcoholic beer options which is disappointing for this day and age.
Georgetownjenny — Google review
Hot Sunday noon! Came with family but they were about 10 minutes late to opening. Had to try a lot as this place was voted as top five new place to go. 1 in Houston. 1 in San Antonio and 2 in Austin. Not sure if it’s a hype but the food was good! Tried the pork bao, pork rinds, fried wonton wrap (the sauce made the difference), the ribeye, and a lot more. The place was hot the ac didn’t do it for the crowd. This place is popular. I tried the oobae and it was good! I have to try it again when it’s cooler maybe my perception would be better. Not too pricey. Small portions.
MC S — Google review
Very creative, fun restaurant! For drinks, we got the OOO-Bae and the Lemon Basil soft drink. For dinner, we got the nam khao, fried chicken wings (caramel fish sauce with crab fat), single smash burger, fried pork ribs (a special that day), and mango sticky rice for dessert. Next time, I want to try the Pork Bao Bun, Lahb, and Sugar Cane Pork Skewer.
Charles P — Google review
A most excellent experience. Food great. Service is good but might have been overwhelmed. The Nam Khao was perfect. Coconut ceviche tasty but I wanted a bit more coconut flavor. I recommend trying the Miang Kham as well. Of course the Laab is great.

Fried chicken takeaway
Spicy Boys Fried Chicken is a food truck located inside Half Step Cocktails, offering a great value for delicious and nut allergy-friendly fried chicken. The Hot Nugs and Tingly Tots are highly recommended, with the tots providing just the right amount of numbing spiciness and crispiness, while the Hot Nugs offer a well-balanced blend of spice and sweetness. The bone-in rendition is described as delightful, featuring the best spice with a hint of sweetness and green onion flare.
The best chicken tenders/nuggets I’ve ever had! The coating of sweet chili sauce was delicious. The batter was exceptional - not too thick and very crispy!! Also a huge portion size for $10.
Lucy C — Google review
Nut allergy friendly! There was no one in front of us and it took us 13 minutes to get our order (notified via text). A food truck located inside of Half Step Cocktails, this stop might be the best value on Rainey. For $18 (after tax and tip) we got the Hot Nugs and Tingly Tots. The tots were just the right amount of numbing spicy and perfectly crispy, and the Hot Nugs were well balanced with spice and sweetness and the two lime wedges were perfect for it. I'd say the nugs could be a little crispier but were overall solid. The portions were enough to be a hefty snack for two people! As with every other stop on Rainey, parking is awful to impossible. We also had a slight miss in service where I got a sandwich instead of nugs at first, but thankfully I was eating near the bar and returned and got the right order. Overall, would totally return if I find myself on Rainey again.

Don't buy their curry & roti unless you're actually in the mood for paratha with a cup of 'sauce' on the side instead. I'm not sure if they're trying to trick people, but as someone with a Trinidadian family? I was excited when I saw curry & roti on the menu! Until... I got paratha & 'sauce'... I mean, we're talking borderline false advertising here Well, you've been warned! The chicken is decent.

Spicy Boys is one of the best food trucks on Rainey Street. It’s also very convenient that they are located inside the Half Step outdoor patio. I tried the Nugs, which are boneless chicken chunks with different seasonings. Delicious dish! I had some issues with the online order, so the staff gave me some complimentary tater tots.
A P — Google review
Phenomenal fried chicken! I ordered the bone-in chicken and decidedly was taken by surprise by how crispy the skin was. The sauce was also flavorful and mildly spicy, and the meat was tendered. I can do a little bit less salt, but that is just my personal preference. Definitely live up to its reputation, and I will for sure come back here again!
Son N — Google review
Good fried chicken spot. Sandwiches are made fresh from your order and ready in 5 minutes. Tastes good for its price ($10/sandwich) but doesn’t necessarily extinguish itself from its peers. Still would recommend the spot just not the most amazing chicken sandwich I have had.
Ronnie Y — Google review
Some of the best spicy fried chicken I have ever had… and I don’t say this lightly. A perfect mix between crispy spicy Nashville chicken and sweet/sour Thai flavors. Magic. Price and flavor A++

One word: EXCELLENT ❗ My wife and I had the 5 piece bone in chicken, and this a must get meal if you're every in Austin, on Rainey St. The chicken was extremely tender, juicy, and every bite was full of flavor! The guys in the trailer were extremely polite, and fast with the order. DO NOT let this spot pass you by. *** Side note: my apologies for the pictures of the aftermath. We devoured the dish due to the smell and 1st taste of this beautiful meal. 🤷‍♂️

Side Eye Pie is a pizza joint located in Austin, born from the expertise of Tony Curet, who previously co-founded Dough Boys Pizza. Teaming up with Max Tilka, they initially operated out of a food truck at Meanwhile Brewing Co. Now, Curet has ventured on his own to establish Side Eye Pies at the same location.
I got the Meat Sweats Pizza and the Duck Confit Chicken Wings, half Buffalo and half Lemon Parmesan. I have nothing bad to say about the food. It was so good! I usually don't eat chicken wings, but the Buffalo ones were so damn delicious. If you haven't been to the food truck, make it a mission to go. And it's next to a brewery, so it's a nice place to stop by for drinks and food. The staff was also really friendly, providing good customer service and getting the food out fast! 😋🍽

Great food truck that is located at Meanwhile Brewing. Pizza was fantastic. The 12” Pepperoni Homie and OG Margarita were delicious. We also had the duck confit chicken wings. We devoured them before I could snap a pic. Slightly off the beaten path, but definitely worth it!

Good pizza but seemed overpriced. Crust needs to be cooked better. The pizza bends as soon as you pick it up. Nonetheless, the flavor was great. We tried the hippie and side eye. Tiramisu was ok. We ordered online and picked up for Meanwhile Brewery. Great ambiance and service. Plenty of parking.

Pizza is delicious. Kale Caesar salad was amazing. Employees taking orders was really friendly and helpful. Not too long of a wait at all.
RES R — Google review
Side Eye Pie was a pleasant surprise. The staff provided great service and kept us updated when there was a delay on the wing orders during my first visit to this food truck. Their menu is accessible via a QR code at the truck, and they use the Toast platform, so if you have a Toast account, you can log in easily. I tried the 12-inch “Pepperoni Homie” pie, while my friend ordered the buffalo BBQ wings. The wings were tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The pizza was ideal for a lunchtime treat, with a thin, flavorful crust topped with melty cheese and delicious mini pepperonis. Sitting outside was very relaxing, though the flies were a bit of a nuisance, even on a cool day in Texas. For drinks, you’ll need to order inside the brewery. They offer water if you’re looking for a non-alcoholic option.

Side Eye is my favorite pizza in Austin. It's not even close, they blow all other places out of the water. Their kale caesar is amazing, the TIRAMISU!! I can't say enough about the tiramisu. It's my favorite dessert and Side Eye's is the best. I've ordered from Side Eye's so much I can't even count. I've picked up for a birthday party, we'll eat at Meanwhile on the weekends and recently we had a family celebration where Chef Tony made us a half sheet of tiramisu. Highly recommend, everyone that works there is the best!

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is a long-standing chain known for its spicy fried chicken and comforting sides, all served in a casual atmosphere. Located in downtown Austin, this southern staple offers a variety of chicken options including white meat, dark meat, and tenders alongside delectable sides. Customers rave about the juicy and delicious chicken with a Memphis-style spicy flavor and perfect crust.
I’ve got a peanut allergy so I had to ask the chef about the peanut oil (refined oil is usually a green light)! Not only are the staff absolute sweethearts, but the food knocked it out of the park. The chicken had a thin batter was so oh so crispy and the chicken itself was very juicy. The beans and Mac and cheese are awesome! Fried okra (a first for us at the table) was a favorite. This spot has been around for a reason, love love love it.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is what I will dream about for the rest of my life. I'm not being funny when I tell you, emphatically, that Gus' fried chicken is the hands-down BEST friend chicken, mac and cheese and collard greens that I've ever had the joy of eating. The chicken is moist and spicy on the inside, and is perfectly crispy and thin on the outside. I could devour the creamy mac and cheese by the poundful. The Greens were perfect - perfectly cooked and well balanced between the salt, pork and greens flavors. I also tried the Fried Okra which was amazing. You absolutely cannot go wrong with a meal at Gus'! I would plan another trip back to Austin just to eat here again - I'm not kidding, it was THAT good!

If you're looking for some delicious fried chicken, Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken in Downtown Austin is the perfect lunch spot! It's a small and simple shop with friendly staff, and they prepare your food quickly. We ordered the four-piece chicken meal, which included tender chicken, crispy French fries, and okra, along with a two-piece white chicken. Everything was fantastic! The breading on both the fried chicken and the chicken tenders was amazing, and both were cooked to perfection, leaving the chicken moist on the inside. The fried okra was nice and crispy, and the seasoned fries had a little kick to them. Overall, the flavors were incredible, and we highly recommend trying this place!
Victor J — Google review
The chicken didn’t look great at first but ended up tasting amazing—crispy skin and juicy inside. Fries were also really good. I didn’t like the coleslaw (too sweet). Service was fast and friendly. Great spot for flavorful fried chicken without heavy sauce.
Heather R — Google review
Ordered a 3 piece dark meal and it was delicious. Chicken was crispy and lightly spicy, proper moist and tender. Opted for m&c rather than slaw, which was on point, a little paprika on top of tender pasta with creamy balanced cheese sauce. The beans are good, nice counter to the other flavors on the plate. Why did i wait this long to go here?
Donovan L — Google review
Love this old school style restaurant. The fried chicken is amazing straight up. I didnt try the sauces at all, Gus's has four to choose from, the chicken has a dry rub kinda taste to it that is slightly spicy hot. Chicken is not overly breaded, a plus for me. Downtown Austin location with a pay for parking lot beside it. Only ordered the chicken to try, did not try any of the sides or desserts. Very cool 50's style dinner vibe to it. Staff is pleasant to communicate with and make sure your experience us a good one. Recommend this restaurant for fried chicken.
Dallas T — Google review
Chicken was very tender, very juicy and very very good. It was a bit smaller than what I thought it would be. But they do say all natural chicken. Now there is a kick. Obviously because it is hot and spicy fried Chicken. I think the only problem was when you finish all the chickens. The okra seems a little bland also the coleslaw. The store itself is very eclectic. The shop felt like a really old school ice cream pop kind of feel.
Kats F — Google review
The chicken is FANTASTIC, we will definitely be coming back! There is just a little spice to the batter and it is perfect! The corn nuggets and Mac and cheese were really yummy. The fries were okay, I prefer mine to be fried a little bit longer, still good. I was not a fan of the ranch but the honey mustard was good. The service was really fast even with every table being full and they were down a server. The staff was super friendly and it was a really good experience!

Hoover's Cooking is a renowned Southern kitchen in Austin, Texas, known for its signature dishes like chicken-fried steak, pork ribs, sandwiches, and sides. The restaurant's founder, Hoover Alexander, draws inspiration from his childhood experiences on a family farm in Utley, Texas to create a farm-to-table dining experience. With over 20 years of operation under its belt, Hoover's Cooking has become an institution in Austin's culinary scene.
Had a great experience at Hoovers after a UT game. Friendly staff with a great menu selection. Service was quick considering the circumstances. Group of four all said their meals were excellent. Great selection of sides. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable.

Wonderful food, have been coming here for years from time to time. Been a while however, since I don't live close to Austin anymore. I think it's kind of sad that they don't include a small basket of biscuits & corn muffins as complimentary table service, I suppose they would blame inflation. It hits us all, but these items are very cheap to produce. I would not let this stop me from going... it's just sad to see the little customer service perks go by the wayside. Meatloaf is marvelous, The greens (with cornbread) are my favorite plus the okra & tomatoes!! Also had peach cobbler pie to take home & it was wonderful. To go containers happily provided- plenty of food for 2 meals for me, at least.

Stopped in and had some honest food. There was no wait and the staff was pleasant. From the website. Hoover Alexander’s passion for food is rooted in Texas soil, inspired by his upbringing on a family farm in Utley. From freshly picked peas and melons to farm-raised meats, he grew up eating what is now called "farm-to-table." Thanks to strong relationships with local farmers, Hoover’s Cooking continues to bring fresh, high-quality ingredients to every plate, honoring the rich traditions of Texas cuisine.
Black&White P — Google review
I really wanted to love this place. It was my first time visiting Hoover's Cooking, and it was a special occasion—my father had flown in for his birthday. My sister picked the restaurant because she thought the family-owned feel would remind him of his favorite eatery back home. There were 12 of us, and we were able to reserve the private room, not the main dining area. On the positive side, it was easy to book the private room in person, and it was the perfect space for our gathering. They even let us decorate it, which was a nice touch. Mr. Hoover himself and the host (an older gentleman) were both incredibly kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. I would strongly recommend avoiding the restrooms. The food, which is the most important part, was a huge disappointment. My fish was beyond bland—ketchup only got me a third of the way through it. My father's fried chicken was flavorless, and my mother's yams and coleslaw weren't even edible. My little niece wouldn't touch her grilled cheese. I could go on, but let's just say it was our first and last time dining there. Adding to the poor experience, our two wait staff never smiled once and seemed truly unhappy to perform their duties of taking orders and bringing refills. I really wish we had a better experience because Mr. Hoover was a cool guy, and I am a strong supporter of black-owned businesses. In that spirit, I'd say try it for yourself; maybe our experience was an off night.

Be wary of the woman bartender with braids, she will scam you. I was there tonight, 10/11/25, i ordered the first round, i was charged $22+ before tip, for two native Texans on draft. My coworker ordered the next round, same 2 beers $18+ before tip. THEY WILL SCAM YOU. Always ask for an itemized receipt here. There food is decent but if they are going to be ripping people off, I will not be recommendation this place. Also, it does not pass my personal vibe check. They hire professional molesters to frisk you at the door. Any place where your personal space is invaded before you enter is never worth supporting. Buy metal detectors if security is that much of a concern. Absolutely not a place worth visiting. Go to Casino El Camino, they don't scam or touch you at the door.

Some disappointing factors to think about. #1 i bought 4 drinks for $25. I bought 2 of the same four drinks and it was $38. Different bartenders. Someone is ripping people off. #2 there is no food anymore. #3 some employees are cool and fun and some there just aren't.

We were hungry. Ordered some snacks, no drinks. The snacks were ok… they were warm not hot, the mini corn dogs were not crispy. The atmosphere was better than the food. Friendly staff. As a dive bar, for drinks, it’s a good place to hang out with friends and dates

Was here yesterday 7/31/25 around 5:00 pm. Bought 3 beers and got charged DOUBLE the price. I forgot to pick up my second receipt , I don’t know if the girl gave herself a bigger tip but this is NOT okay. This used to be one of my favorite spots until this happened. Will not be coming back . Don’t forget to keep your receipts & check your bank accounts. Thief

Jackelope was legit! I got the BEC with a smashed patty and the sweet potato tots. The sweet potato tots are insannnnnnely good! I could eat those all day! There are a lot of pics of naked chicks...could do without that personally....but...it's a bar I suppose. Service was excellent and the prices were really good. Make sure to take a pic on the giant Jackalope!

Asian fusion restaurant
Loro Asian Smokehouse & Bar is a unique fusion of Asian smokehouse and Texas barbecue, located in South Austin. The restaurant boasts a rustic ambiance with ample indoor seating as well as a spacious outdoor patio adorned with hanging lanterns and swings.
Loro in South Austin is one of those rare spots that nails both flavor and atmosphere. The Asian smokehouse twist on Texas BBQ keeps every visit exciting. The chicken karaage is a must-order — perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with just the right punch of seasoning. The brisket sandwich is equally memorable, with melt-in-your-mouth brisket and a balance of smoky, savory, and tangy flavors that make it hard to put down. Service here is all counter-style, and it works beautifully — quick, friendly, and efficient, even during busy stretches. The patio is one of the best in town: spacious, shaded, and perfect for enjoying Austin weather. Whether you’re gathering with friends, hosting a work happy hour, or having a family get-together, Loro has the space and vibe to make it easy. All in all, Loro delivers on every front — great food, great service, and a great setting.

The creativity behind these dishes are enhanced through their execution. The place has a fun and friendly vibe and they've designed it to handle crowds really well. I sat at the bar and ordered there. Tried their edamame, pork belly and brisket. Phenomenal! Taste, plating, ticket time, everything - it was awesome. They were PACKED and absolutely killing it. I don't think I'll be able to visit Austin again without making this mandatory stop! 👏

Loro has been a favorite for many years - the frozen espresso is a refreshing, creamy start. Brisket and turkey are my go tos but the salmon with ponzu is light. The charred broccoli is unreal— crisp, smoky, spicy. The fusion of Asian and Texas BBQ is spot on, and if you visit at peak times, enjoy a cocktail while you wait in the yard and be sure to leave with a cookie “for later”…

Great dining experience. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. Fast, efficient service model. Tasty Asian fusion dishes. Recommended dishes: - Chicken Karaage - more like Korean style fried chicken, but was very tasty. - Arugula & Melon Salad - seemingly strange combination was surprisingly good. - Char Siew Pork Belly - tad sweet but bursting with flavor - Sesame Rice Noodles - was an excellent companion to balance out the strong flavors of the Char Siew

One of our favorite meals while in Austin. Setup is somewhat similar to a BBQ place where you seat yourself and order for yourself at the bar. Non-alcoholic drinks were very good. The BBQ was amazing. Loved it all.

This place was great! We came a little before 4 on a Sunday and it wasnt busy. You order at the bar and they bring the food to your table. They had a cider on tap (Texas Keeper) and had a can (East Austin Cider) option too. The Mexican Martini was a little flat, and didnt really taste like anything. We got the pork belly rice bowl and tofu rice bowl. They were both excellent. The pork belly came with some garlic and spicy fish sauce that was delicious. The coconut rice was lite ans fluffy. The schezuan tofu was absolutely delicious, crunchy and flavorful. Our friends got the ribs which were good, but came with some pickled carrots that were the star of the show!

Loro is an Austin staple when you are looking for a spin on smoked meats. I love the Asian inspired flavors. My partner and I came hungry, so we over ordered. The seaweed salad came last, and it was too saucy. We also got the shrimp rice bowl which was excellent and the perfect portion. We ended up taking this whole dish to go. The star of the night was the sake smoked half chicken and karrage. The smoked chicken was soooo delicious. It was so moist, perfectly seasoned, and was accompanied by lettuce and herbs to make lettuce wraps. The karrage is a generous portion and really good. The sesame noodles were excellent as well. We left there super happy. The staff is very kind and attentive for being counter service. We went around 6:30pm on a Saturday. We were able to seat ourselves before the host set up kicked in. It was continuously busy all night. It is loud and dark in the inside.

Finally tried Loro for the first time this weekend after having it on our list for a while. Overall we had a great experience. Really liked the casual vibe and the large amount of outdoor seating. We tried several things on the menu and enjoyed it all. Definitely some unique items that I don’t think you can get anywhere else in Austin. Definitely give it a try.

Seafood restaurant
Turf N' Surf Po Boy is a casual eatery offering a variety of Cajun-inspired tacos and po' boys. With around 22 options, including oyster, jumbo shrimp, chicken parm, and pork chops that can be fried, grilled, or blackened, there are numerous sandwich combinations to choose from. The emphasis is on fresh Gulf seafood despite the market prices.
Turf& Surf is on point. The food and service was fast and delicious. Had the fried oyster and catfish. Their seafood sauce is the bomb!! Got a beautiful sweet kick!! It is located in a college style sports bar. So I agreed with another poster it is the most ideal to bring kids. All high top chairs bar style. Lots of big screen TVs. Thanks for the great seafood.

This is an absolutely fantastic food, drinks, and sports spot. The food is simply beyond incredible. The staff are all great and friendly. The atmosphere is exactly what we were looking for. Nice large open windows that look out onto the street, but there is plenty of room away from that as well if that is what you're looking for. The bar is set up very well. But... let's talk about the food... We got the Slap Yo Mama shrimp poboy, the blackened pork chop poboy and a side of red beans and rice... and that was enough to feed 4 people... but we ate it all... and loved every minute of it. This is definitely going to be a spot we will frequent when anywhere near ACL - we came for a Sunday evening show and decided to hit this place first... and honestly, I'm not sure which I liked better. Trust me - go and enjoy a drink, some amazing food, and some delicious grub.

So, I had some time in-between shifts & found this place. Walked there from the parking garage, it's a simple walk-up window. Lady was nice, service was quick, & the food definitely hit hard. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Tacos & the Shrimp Po'Boy. I was so hungry; the first thing that I scavenged was a taco before thinking about taking a picture. It was awesome! Perfectly cooked tuna & they were bigger than I expected. The Po'boy had weight on it when I took it out of the bag. You can't tell from the photo, but there's definitely shrimp in there. Wouldn't have expected this from a little window, but absolutely glad that I went, definitely worth it!

Paid $25 for two tacos and thought, this better taste like Poseidon himself grilled it. Spoiler: it did. The blackened mahi-mahi tacos were absolute bangers — fresh, juicy, and loaded like they’re trying to smuggle flavor across the border. I ordered from the street-side window like a sketchy dealer, but you can also order inside Lavaca Street Bar, where the vibe is “your uncle’s basement if your uncle owned 37 TVs.” Dark, divey, pool tables, sports on every screen — it’s like stepping into a time warp where the only currency is ranch dressing. Bonus: they’ve got a patio out back if you wanna eat your tacos while judging people walking by.

Ordered the catfish poboy sandwich and cilantro fries. Did not expect what we got! The fish was crisp outside, tinder inside, delicious! You get two sauces with the sandwiches, delicious as well. More than enough food, could be shared. The fries are fresh squeezed with lime and topped with cilantro. (And an extra) when we first arrived it was just a window to order from. We thought we had to eat outside (there are tables outside) but next door noticed that Lavaca Street Bar has a window inside to order from. Very smart for both businesses!

They're close. I like the menu options, grilled cod was a good piece of fish. Problem is everything was nuked with salt. The fish, the corn, even the fries. Just insane amounts of salt. Will try again at some point to see if it changes.

Walked in with a seafood craving not knowing what to expect. The exterior is unassuming and inside is connected to Lavaca bar. The food really blew our minds! We got the blackened redfish and snapper plates. The fish, coleslaw, and fries were all superb. Loved the freshness, balance and simplicity. Appreciated that it wasn't too heavy, and portion size was generous.

Titaya's Thai Cuisine is a popular and modern bistro in North Austin that offers traditional Thai dishes as well as fusion creations. The menu features a variety of options, including Taro Corn Fritters with Chili Sauce, Pad Kee Mow, Chicken Satay, Taro Crisps with Chicken Wings, tom yum soup, pad see ew, and pad ka prao.
Titaya has been in Austin for years now, and Without a doubt, offers the best and most authentic Thai food I've had in the USA. From the moment we sat down, it was clear we were in for a treat. The restaurant is also reasonably priced, making the incredible quality even more impressive. The service was remarkably fast, without any compromise on the top-notch food quality. We highly recommend indulging in their classic fish specialities. The Pad Cha, Chuu Chee Pla, and Pla Sum Rod were all phenomenal, with sauces that were truly out of this world – bursting with fresh and vibrant flavors. We also started with the chicken skewers appetizer, which was absolutely excellent and perfectly prepared. The Tom Yum soup lived up to its reputation – incredibly spicy and utterly delicious, a must-try for those who enjoy a good kick. To perfectly conclude our meal, the mango sticky rice was the ideal sweet ending. And don't miss their ice Thai tea, which was strong, refreshing, and incredibly delicious. Overall, my experience at Titaya was exceptional. If you're looking for truly authentic Thai flavors, fast and friendly service, and incredible value in Austin, look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

Absolutely fantastic Thai food. I had honestly given up on enjoying Thai food in Austin till we tried this gem. The staff is polite, efficient and knowledgeable and the restaurant was bustling. Unique items I recommend trying are the sweet corn taro fritters and black rice pudding! Can’t wait to come back during mango season for the sweet sticky rice!

I came here for a Saturday night dinner with my family. We loved the food and our server was fantastic. The food was not only delicious but it came out so quickly! My favorite dishes were Pad Woon Sen, taro fritters, and the papaya salad. The Pad Woon Sen was flavorful and had a slight smokiness to it. The taro fritters were perfectly crispy and had a tasty batter. The papaya salad was fresh and spicy! The shrimp in the papaya salad were fat and sweet. Other dishes we enjoyed: basil fried rice, tom yum soup, chu chee pla, and fish cake appetizer. The pad see ew was just ok. The portions were on the smaller side but matched the price. We had a party of 5 and got 5 entrees and 2 appetizers. Overall, I would come here again! I loved the food and service. The dishes tasted authentic and flavorful. I would love to explore more of the dishes on the menu. This is a great place to take your family to, people visiting from out of town, or a tasty dinner date. The atmosphere is relaxing and calm and the restaurant is beautifully decorated.

Local Guide, Kelly Nguyen's review of Titaya motivated me to drive over to Hyde Park and check out this Thai hot spot.  Here's how her review began: "Titaya has been in Austin for years now and, without a doubt, offers the best and most authentic Thai food I've had in the USA. From the moment we sat down, it was clear we were in for a treat. The restaurant is also reasonably priced, making the incredible quality even more impressive." I have never met Kelly, but I think we would be culinary buds. I chose the Satay Gai ($10.50) as an appetizer.  The marinated chicken skewers are served with peanut sauce and a cucumber relish.  It was a nice light appetizer that I paired with another Titaya favorite. Tom Yum soup. If you haven't tried it, the soup is a spicy broth with chili, lime, lemongrass, yellow onion, tomatoes, and mushrooms.  You can have it with chicken shrimp or tofu (I chose shirmp $7.95). It is available in a bowl or firepot.  If y'all appreciate Thai heat, this will fire your taste buds up in a hurry. For the entrées, I tried two classics.  If you ask most people what they know about Thai cuisine in America, they will probably mention Pad Thai ($13.50 including chicken)  The dish is perfect for my wife, because she has a low tolerance for heat, and she loves the signature sweet tamarind sauce.  I really enjoyed Titaya's take on it. For my meal, I chose Chuu Chee Pla ($19.95) off Titaya's Classic Favorites menu. A crispy Basa fish fillet is topped with a coconut red curry sauce.  The heat is more subtle coming in at the end of each bite after delivering a sweet creamy taste at the start. Overall, the meal was excellent.  We already have our next meal picked out - Hung Lay Buns ($10.50) and Spinach Dumplings ($7.50) as appetizers and the Pad Cha ($19.95) and Pad See Eiw ($13.50 with chicken) for the main meal. There is so much good Thai food and so little time! This place is a must stop. Add it now to your list! #MattGoodEats

The👏🏻best 👏🏻noodles👏🏻ever💯🔥🙌🏻 I’ve never enjoyed noodle dishes at Thai restaurants until I ate at Titaya’s. We came here on a friend’s recommendation and I’m so glad that we’ve found our favorite Thai restaurant in the Austin area now. We got the Pad See Eiw (one with tofu, another with chicken) and it was sooooo good we ordered Pad Kee Mao to go! The Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk was OK and not something I’d order again (strong coffee though). The black rice pudding is a barely-sweet kind of a dessert and definitely an acquired taste if you’re not used to rice in desserts (kind of like a rice kheer, almost). We’ll be back for the noodles 💯🍜

Komé: Sushi Kitchen is a trendy Japanese restaurant located in Ridgetop. The restaurant offers a stylish, bamboo-accented space where patrons can enjoy dependable nigiri and action-packed sushi rolls for both lunch and dinner. The lunch menu features elaborate combination lunches, filling donburi, and a large bento box.
The pork buns were delicious and tender, although the flavor profile was a bit "basic". The sushi was good - but I'm not sure if it was quite worth the price for what you might be getting. The menu overall was a bit on the pricier side of things, but what really stood out was the atmosphere! The lighting was warm, slightly dim, and had cultural pieces of decor. Overall the restaurant was nice and had a pleasantly surprising vibe, but a more typical palate

Sushi was yummy and I loved the appetizers we got (especially the okonomiyaki). The sushi was a bit westernized but it was unique so I still liked it. The service was also amazing (I accidentally double tipped but they returned the extra tip after I emailed them)

I don’t 100% know where I fall on Kome. I think it’s absolutely fine. The bao was fine. The udon curry was fine. The Surf N Turf roll was fine but unnecessarily large. No individual part was particularly spectacular. Our server, Alex, was great. People rave about Kome and so I think it’s probably worth making a decision for yourself. I’ve seen this place be absolutely packed with long waits but I don’t think I could tell you why.
Jonathan M — Google review
My friend and I are visiting Austin from out of town and decided to stop at Komé for a casual lunch today because of all the on line recommendations for the restaurant. While everything was amazing, I really want to highlight the staff and, especially, our waitress (I am so sorry, I forgot your name despite asking for it a second time). She was prompt, very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable of the menu, giving us great suggestions when asked. Of course, all the other staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful, as well. As on line individuals described, the food came out quickly, while respecting our coursing, and delicious. Everything was, obviously, also of great quality despite being so affordable. We started off with the "aji fry" which was perfectly breaded, had a nice tender texture, and paired perfectly with the tartar sauce accompanying it. My friend ordered the "kitsune udon" and thoroughly enjoyed it with a side of steamed rice. I ordered the "chirashi-don", which our waitress recommended and had a variety of sashimi and definitely did not skimp out on the seafood. Everything on it was very fresh. It came with some "miso soup;" I usually don't care for miso soup, but this was very refreshing and subtle (I've had miso soup elsewhere that is too overpowering in flavor) and felt perfect as the temperatures start dropping. I also ordered the "tarantula" signature roll to share with my friend. The roll is "only" five pieces, but each piece is huge and stuffed with shrimp tempura and softshell crab. The ratio of rice to the "filling" was perfect. Definitely doable for some as a meal alone. To end, this was a great experience and I would definitely come back if I find myself back in the Austin area. And the establishment, as amazing as the food and decor is, is very lucky to have the waitress who served us among the staff.

A quick bite before we headed east. This place was AMAZING. The service, the glassware, the tea, the water... all of it was impeccable. Sorry, food was too good we ate before I snapped pic. Really awesome brunch with really awesome people at a really awesome reunion. The omelet was good. There was noodles and pork and some veggies inside wrapped in an omelet. I ate other people’s food too because it was right after an early flight and they all tasted good too: French toast with Nutella, French toast with avocado, kimchi rice, breakfast bowl, scallion puffs.

Father's day dinner experience. My son took me to the Burnet location this past Sunday for a treat. I had not been there for years, and it was a nice food surprise. Due to the "tortilla" in their name, I assumed it was a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant. My bad. Food: Their food is a fusion of Asian flavors with a Southern twist. What an interesting and original concept. And they deliver. I had their BBQ pulled pork tacos and the bacon jam fries. Both were a pleasurable mouthful with a touch of sweetness. Besides that, my son treated me to a cocktail. I added sparkling water. For dessert, I tried their intriguing banana, Nutella fried spring roll with a side of whipped cream. 3 bites of crunchy outside filled with warm, creamy banana pieces with a sweet touch of Nutella. A well balance, not too sweet, perfect dessert for me. 5 stars for taste and originality. Service: Our waitress was very Southern with her "y'all" and "honey" language. She was also very efficient and a great sales lady. She knew her menu upside down, and her descriptions were very convincing. 5 stars to her. Atmosphere: Nice decoration, a little outdated but warm and inviting. 4 stars. All in all, it was a very pleasurable evening. Thank you, Peached Tortilla. Chef Alain Braux

Brunch was extremely mid. Probably the worst brussels sprouts i’ve ever had — extremely dry and flavorless. The char siu pork had absolutely no flavor and the korean hangar steak was served more rare than medium rare. I think their standard lunch menu is a bit better. Overall, I can see some people thinking this place is good but if you’re asian or like asian food, do not come here lol. The service was great though!!!

Thai Kun is a popular spot known for its spicy Thai cuisine, offering vegan options and cocktails. The restaurant gained attention when it landed on Bon Appetit's Best New Restaurants list. Chef-owner Thai Changthong continues to impress with signature dishes like the Crispy Coco, featuring rice toasted in a clay pot topped with coconut cream, cucumber, and silken tofu. Other must-try items include the Waterfall Pork and papaya salad.
Thai Kun impressed me once again on my second visit, offering bold, authentic Thai flavors in a lively and casual setting. This time, I opted for the crispy wontons, which were perfectly fried and filled with savory goodness—an excellent way to start the meal. The pork pad see ew was delicious, featuring smoky noodles and tender pork that created a well-balanced dish. Chef Thai’s roasted chicken was another highlight, juicy and infused with aromatic spices—definitely a must-try. On our first visit, we sampled the pad ka prow and green curry, but found them a bit too spicy for our taste, and unfortunately, there’s no option to request a milder version. Still, the flavors at Thai Kun are outstanding, and the menu is worth exploring. With attentive service and vibrant dishes, it remains a top choice for Thai cuisine enthusiasts.

Good food. Pad thai and the green curry were yummy!! Amazing food. The papaya salad was extremely spicy. I can handle spicy food and I love papaya salad but I couldn’t even finish one bite of their salad, it was that spicy.. be aware. The rest of the food and their drinks were amazing though

Solid Thai option for north austin, different from the typical store front Thai restaurants. Big fan of the Chinese broccoli and pork belly. My wife enjoys the glass noodles. Occasionally order the steak or whole fish.

Went to Thai Kun for dinner on a Saturday. We were seated immediately upon arriving. The ambiance is nice. We ordered a mushroom salad, octopus on the skewer, and pad see ew. Our favorite was the pad see ew as the octopus was a bit too spicy for our taste and the mushroom salad was quite good, but also a bit too spicy. ***When we ordered, we did request that our dishes be prepared on the low level of heat/spiciness. Our waitress was wonderful, welcoming and professional (she is from Thailand and taught us about the mushroom dish). We would recommend Thai Kun and will likely return, but we will be more careful with the items we order.

We started off with Thai Tea and it was amazing! Definitely feels more authentic than your usual Thai Tea since you can taste the tea flavoring and it wasn't too sweet, compared to most places. The main dishes were the Crab Rice and the Waterfall Pork. The Crab Rice had good flavor, texture, and wasn't too oily or wet. The dish could've had more crab, egg, and vegetables but overall still good with the sauce on the side. The Waterfall Pork was spicy, and packed with flavor but the pork was fattier than I expected. Overall good food, but nothing mind blowing!

First time visiting, but it's definitely not the last. My friend and i were celebrating her new job. The Old Fashion could have been much better, but the food definitely made up for it. My friend ordered the "off the menu" fried red snapper, and it was a not only visually appealing but flavourful, definitely not spicy, though some heat would have been welcomed. The waiter informed us that the fish could be shared, but they also have smaller ones that could serve one. We also tried the Thai Kun Fried Chicken, which was tasteful. The waiter was friendly and helpful, we sat outside and it was very nice and with the cool weather it took the whole visit to another level.

Love Thai kun and they don't take reservations so you may be able to just walk in on any given evening. The food is so spicy torture but oh so delicious. My favorite is the Pad Ka Prow but apps are great as is the crab crispy coco, steak, curry... it's all good!

The Food was fantastic! Corn Fritters are the best Appetizer ever. It comes with a fantastic sauce that is spicy/sweet. I wish they would give you more napkins because it can get messy lol. I was also as super happy with my entree. The Pad See Ew was great. I choose the tofu but would choose the pork instead next time.

Asian restaurant
East Side King is a casual dining spot that offers a variety of Asian-fusion dishes, including small plates, bento sets, rice meals, and creative tacos. Started as a side venture by three cooks from Austin's Uchi restaurant, including Top Chef winner Paul Qui, East Side King has grown to three trailers. The menu features items like sweet-hot fried chicken, pork belly steam buns, radiant fried beets, Chicken Katsu bowl and the chicken karaage bowl with distinct sauces.
This is a nice Asian-fusion eatery. We’ve been there a couple of times, and we liked it. My personal recommendation is the Moto Bento Box—it’s really delicious, and I love that it has a lot of fish. Make sure to order the spicy mayo on the side for your salmon and tuna; it makes it even better. The Katsu Sando was also great—we enjoyed how crispy the chicken was. If you like chicken, I’d also recommend the ESK Kara-Age Bowl. It’s another tasty option.

Went for the very first time today and was impressed by the service and atmosphere! I ordered the Chicken Katsu Sando with fries and a Sangaria brand strawberry milk. My only complaints were that wished the bun for the katsu Sando was bigger. I also wished for a bit less mayo to enjoy the tasty dipping sauces given to me.
Illya M — Google review
Curry had very little flavor, rice was soggy. Ironically the only thing we enjoyed was the Japanese mayo. Overall the food flavor is very subpar

I keep coming back to Eastside King and am deeply satisfied each time. This week I tried the chef special bowl with delicious pork chunks and many side attractions. I also ordered my customary appetizer spicy wonton with hot chili oil. Great value, easy-going vibe, highly recommend recommended.

So glad there’s an East Side King on SoLa! Their beet fries are NEXT LEVEL— unlike anything my tastebuds have experienced before. The spicy Avocado buns are flavorful and have excellent mouthfeel. I also highly recommend the crispy fried tofu Curry! So many fresh herbs sprinkled on top add a punch of flavor. There’s plenty of seating— high tables, booths and four tops. The parking can be tricky, because the lot adjacent to the building will boot / tow your car (quickly) so be aware to park near Chipotle.

It’s been a couple of years since we’ve eaten at East Side King. We’re sooo happy that the food is still terrific, perhaps even better! Like the items we loved since we patronized their food trucks — the Brussels Sprouts, beets — these have only gotten better.

I've been loving EAST SIDE KING for nearly 10 years. Last week my wife & I had lunch there after a long afternoon of thrifting. We shared a BENTO BOX of Thai Chicken Kara-agé , Pork Belly Bun, Brussels Sprout Salad, Beet Home Fries, & a ESK Kara Age Bowl of Fried chicken thigh, sweet & spicy sauce, basil, cilantro, mint, onion, and jalapeño. The chicken was super tender & the fresh herbs & veggies were phenomenal. I also polished off a glass of Electric Jellyfish IPA. If you're a fan of asian fusion cuisine, you've gotta try EAST SIDE KING.

East Side King Catering was an absolute highlight of our wedding! The food was phenomenal—our guests are still talking about it—and the team was so easy and fun to work with from start to finish. What really set them apart was their willingness to bring our vision to life, including a custom boba hour during cocktail hour that was a total hit! It added such a fun and personal touch to the day, and they pulled it off flawlessly. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented, and the service was seamless. East Side King brought the perfect mix of creativity, flexibility, and professionalism, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Highly recommend them for anyone looking for something delicious, unique, and memorable for their big day!

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is a popular fast-food chain known for its focus on serving fried chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with exceptional customer service. Visitors can expect succulent fried chicken tenders and a simple yet satisfying menu. The signature Canes Sauce adds an extra layer of flavor to the tender chicken.
Day 3 of jury duty and I had an hour and 15 minutes and a block away raising Cane's I didn't have any expectations different from what I normally experience at raising Cane's but today was exceptionably surprising. I ordered my normal caniac and every piece of chicken I received was the biggest piece of chicken I'd ever seen at raising cage. I proceeded to look around and notice that everybody else's chicken was extremely large too It's like this location has the largest tenders from any raising Cane's. Not really was a good site to see. That being said, it was a lot of food and I didn't notice at first that the staff forgot my coleslaw which I did have to go back and get. I will say it is a little cramped in this area. Not a lot of spaced maneuver with your car or with your person which kills the atmosphere a little bit for me. Besides that, I'm going to have to come back and see if this place has the same consistency in their tenders and if they do, if they're really question, my local raising Cane's in Pflugerville.
General L — Google review
I mean it’s Cane’s. What’s not to like? This location can be a little busy and parking fills up fast, however, the inside is very spacious and there’s always plenty of seating available. Staff are very good about flipping tables to ensure there’s always a place to sit since this is a very high trafficked location being so close to campus. The chicken is always good and their honey mustard sauce is my favorite! The service is always fast too whether you go through drive thru or dine in.
Samantha L — Google review
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is an absolute delight for anyone who loves perfectly crispy fried chicken. Their chicken fingers are always cooked to golden perfection — juicy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, and bursting with flavor. You can truly taste the freshness and quality in every bite. The signature Cane’s Sauce takes things to another level — tangy, creamy, and totally addictive. The crinkle-cut fries are always hot and seasoned just right, making them the perfect sidekick to the chicken.

Exactly what it is - raising cane’s in a off the beaten path strip mall vibes. Great chicken and even better sauce. Quick ‘n’ dirty.
JESSICA — Google review
Always so quick, even when my big back and my husbands big back both get the caniac. 😩🤞 Amazing everytime always hits.
Elizabeth L — Google review
Not Worth the Hype I really expected more from Raising Cane’s. The chicken tenders were hot and crispy, but the portions have gotten so small they’re starting to look like nuggets. The Cane’s sauce is tasty, but it shouldn’t have to carry the whole meal. The fries were soggy and lacked flavor, and the Texas toast was just okay. For the price, the portions felt skimpy, and overall the meal just didn’t feel worth it. Service was quick, but the food didn’t live up to the hype.
Yaser A — Google review
A great location and very friendly service! As usual, the quality of Cane’s is very solid, prices are still fair despite everything! If I am choosing where to go to Cane’s is definitely my pick. Besides, the location is perfect if I am looking for a stop after a stroll or a ride around downtown.

Raising Cane’s on Brodie Lane in Austin is always a great experience! The chicken fingers are consistently hot, crispy, and delicious, and the Cane’s sauce is unbeatable. The staff is friendly, the service is fast, and the restaurant is always clean. Whether I'm grabbing a quick meal or picking up a family combo, they never disappoint. One of my favorite spots for comfort food in South Austin!

Nice little spot! Fresh ingredients and attentive service. It felt very comfortable, I had an issue with one of my dishes and they promptly corrected it. I tried the edamame, wonton soup and sesame chicken. My brother had the sesame shrimp. I appreciate the experience and will definitely be back.

I tried this place first time today with a very high expectation, but I was very disappointed with the food.☹️ The clerk was very polite and friendly. He is great. I had a hot & sour soup, it’s also great, I like it. But, the dragon noodle was…”not good”. I really don’t like the taste and flavor if it has any.😕 I was so confused because the combination of veggies and meat should be ok, but why it tasted so bad? My answer is the sauce. This dish could be super good if they just use regular soy sauce and red chili. The sauce should bonds the flavors of the ingredients together, but sadly it does not. Super flavorless, only tomato sour, hot and spicy on your tongue. And they put in the noodle at the very end of cooking, making it even more flavorless. They should put the noodle into the wok and pan fried it with the veggies and meat for a while before adding any sauce or soy sauce, so the noodle has time to absorb the flavor of ingredients and wok. This should be one of the basic rules of making Asian dishes. 😑 Anyway, I don’t recommend the dragon noodle. I might try something else next time.

Hungry for straight up Chinese and this place was recommended by a local retailer. Good lunch special selection. Hot and sour soup was delish. Large portion of Mongolian beef with mediocre fried rice. Good egg roll. Spoon had dried/caked on food on it, YUK Will explore other places in the area next time.

Beaware! looks like the sanitation is the issue in this place. The sprite on the fountain looks like there is mold growing inside the sprout. So I swapped to can sprite and then my noodles had roach or some kind of bug, I only saw it once I was almost at the end of my bowl. 🤮🤢.

This unassuming Asian restaurant was a pleasant surprise! My friend did not want to go here because the name meant something else in another language but she joined me under protest. I think the name means Uncle in Chinese. This is an order at the counter restaurant. Kristi was working front of house. She helped my vegetarian friend decide on her choices, patiently explaining the dishes, answering all questions and making suggestions. The lunch specials run until 2:30 everyday...choice of appetizer and entree. My friend ordered the Black Bean entree with tofu and substituted some vegetables plus egg drop soup. I had the Serrano Black Bean entree with chicken plus hot and sour soup. Both entrees were generously tasty portions. I viewed a few other plates which also looked delicious. I will definitely be back for more! Reminder - Make sure to tip when ordering or at the table as some refrain from doing so at counter order restaurants. Kristi happily took our order, brought our food, checked on us, bussed our plates and cleaned up afterwards.

I used to drive over an hour to get food here cause it was amazing. My husband and I picked up to go. I had the Singapore noodles- it tasted like the noodles were boiled in old water or something. The texture of the noodles weren’t the best and the overall taste wasn’t as yummy as I remember. My husband had the sesame chicken and he said it tasted like it was cooked with something else and the chicken was very chewy. Very disappointed in our meals. Also, just saw the roach post from a month ago and we will most likely never come back.

Finally!!! A good Asian food spot that I can definitely see myself going to often. SUPER Fresh food. Food was amazing ugh!!! I can't thank them enough for how good it was but it was. I personally had their, Sesame chicken and crab rangoon. My bf enjoyed their mediterranean plate and it was so... good. Eggrolls were bigger than expected but over all everything we had was super good. For being my first time trying them I was not disappointed.

Fried chicken takeaway
Spicy Boys Fried Chicken is a food trailer that offers pan-Asian specialties and fusion dishes like roti tacos, located in various spots near popular drinking establishments. Their spicy and perfectly crispy chicken sandwiches are a great match for an ice-cold beer or cider. The mild-spiced fried chicken sandwich comes with papaya relish, Thai basil ranch, chili-honey sauce, scallions, and crispy shallots.
Solid food truck experience! The chicken and tater tots are fried perfectly! Be careful about the spice though…I enjoyed it, but others in the group struggled. The papaya salad is a must! The banana pudding is also excellent! This truck is parked in St Elmo’s Brewing’s patio.
Todd — Google review
When we visited Austin, I had really wanted to try this place based on reviews and menu items. When we got there we were sadly told that they had run out of everything except tater tots. So we ended up just having the tater tots (both tingly and the normal ones). The sauce with the tingly tots is delicious! So spicy but flavorful. One of the best tots I have had. I came back to Houston and had my husband was coming back a few days later so told him to grab it on the way back to Houston. The food survived the 3 hour drive and still tasted pretty decent. I will be honest, I had more expectations from the chicken sandwich but it wasn’t a wow. The pickle chips definitely added a good flavor but it lacked the spice kick. I would rate it a 3/5. Tots as usual were very good. Also ordered the nuggets which were decent. Maybe my experience would have been different if I would have eaten there prepared fresh but I was expecting the sandwich to be in line with Urban Bird or Tumble 22 spice level.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝟓 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬. Yeah, look no further when it comes to fried chicken. There is not a box this place does not check. You MUST get the spicy tater tots, they are flaky, moist on the inside, and packed with flavor. The chicken is well seasoned and juicy. The heat levels are available for people who don’t need a lot of spice to heat lovers. I came to this place on a Saturday evening after a bar crawl and this was the perfect way to end cap the night. Highly recommend, don’t miss this one.

5 stars for everything. Pics don’t look like much, but please trust me to read on. I don’t post reviews, but had to for this insane flavor bomb. It’s a food truck, yet you can get picnic seating outside or indoor air conditioning inside St Elmo Brewing, if needed. The Tangy Gai was the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. It achieved what everyone else struggles to, an immaculate balance between sweet, salty, vinegary, fatty, and spicy. It was like the balance of earth before global warming, and they captured that in a chicken sandwich and delivered it to my mouth. I ordered one, and some delicious nuggets. Had a few beers and went back to order another. I am addicted and can’t get enough. I’m coming back for that goodness that Darcey serves up; it’s absolutely incredible! If you want more than fried chicken between two buns, and you wanna be taken on a culinary journey, get action here. Full stop. Flavor stimulation and orgasm of the culinary experience.

Honestly, it was an accident. TLDR = ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thai inspired fried 🐔 🥪! I pull right up to the window on my electric scooter -Tina- ( we don't talk about her size only how fast she is ) like I actually know what I am doing, and I straight up try to order a burger combo! The gentleman behind the counter - with a nearly imperceptible hint of disappointment - informed me that I was not at the "burger place". Well folks...... I tell you, it had been a long day, I was deprived and dang near deranged, and ole Tina's battery was right on the brink of 50%. I cast a glance over my shoulder towards the indicated establishment and instantly decided what I really wanted was some fried chicken. Because the other spot was looking like a liminal space. Not yet completely convinced... we started going over some menu options; you know, because at this point.....I dont even have a clue where I am, let alone what I want to eat. My courteous and observant server skipped no beats, got me oriented with grace, and I quickly realized I was not at just some rando fried chicken truck. We got my order banged out, no thanks to me obviously. Everything sounded too real to be perfect, you dig? It was like one rung up the mind-blow ladder after the next. Tots were suggested, and agreed upon, spicy pickles were almost overlooked, crises averted. My dinosaur of a card ( sorry dinosaurs, that was cruel ) was painstakingly keyed into the system manually by my ever patient and covertly stoic server. What felt like an easy 12 - 16 minutes ( 3 hours faster than my struggle to craft this train wreck - sorry trains, that was cruel ) later, my order was received. Upon close inspection - solely to grade the packaging in preparation for transport - I noticed a few tots. This is where it gets interesting. These were no ordinary tots. My level of interest in the meal went from a 4-5 to about a 9. It was that kind of tot. They were in fact next-level tots, as the kids say. On top of showing the hallmarks of true quality, my OG Chicken Sandwich was assembled with exceptional presentation. Its wrapping was clean and attractive, and clearly labeled. My side of spicy pickles was perfectly sealed in a high grade container, and not a drop of brine was shed. My tots were so enticing both aromaticly and esthetically it was difficult for me to believe this had all been an accident? If you want chicken? Heck, it's all over ATX, take your pick. If you want a truly gratifying meal with flavors and pairings that folks actually put the care in to accomplish? This grub is worth your time. I am so glad I did not turn my back on Spicy Boys and stick to my orginal plan for burger. I made a dumb mistake, but... what I ended up getting was a meal with five star complexity, quality pairings and accentuated flavors ( not just in my sandwich but literally every item I ordered ) for under $20, from a small business in my neighborhood, with big backyard vibes. Huge thanks to y'all for this incredible first experience. I will be back again. And with purpose. My apologies to anyone still reading, it's been a long day. Peace, love, and chicken grease my fried friends. More than a nugget, this one was.

This place was busssssyyyyy tonight, they were the one of very few food trucks open and they killed it! Had the best hot maple chicken nugs and the roti with curry. Insanely good! Like the sweet and salty and savory and everything delicious were those nugs!!!! Worth the wait, and they were an efficient machine cranking out delicious food
Kelly W — Google review
Oh. My. Lord. I consider myself a connoisseur when it comes to chicken. And, this place melted my heart. I went for the spicy tots and the spicy nuggets. Both were epic. I'll look forward to my next visit, for real. Next time I'm ordering the whole damn menu lol
Rex ( — Google review
Spicy Boys is downright delirious—in the best way possible. I ordered the OG sandwich (and, okay, maybe another one too), and both were pure flavor chaos in the best sense. The chicken was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of heat, and the slaw balanced it out with that sweet, cool crunch that hits just right. If you’re on the fence—jump off and run here.

Bar
Lala's Little Nugget is a well-known strip-mall tavern in Austin that has been a staple of the Crestview and North Burnet neighborhood since 1972. It stands out as the only Christmas-themed bar in the area, with its year-round holiday decorations creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of an early 80s Christmas morning. The bar features an old-school jukebox filled with classic country and rock n roll tunes, adding to its charm.
If you want to be in a good small bar and avoid the big ones, come on down to Lala's...it's Christmas all year long, nice and cold inside too. Plus you can sit outside and have a Pizza from next door. I always swing by and have me a nice cold Budweiser or three. Friendly staff and a pool table to shoot the time away.

I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed the atmosphere. This time stopping in I noticed the bartenders were so hostile and unfriendly? I don't expect much I mean its a dive bar but they were straight up rude. Maybe we caught Rachel and Nick on a bad day..

Wow! Love this concept. My gf and I are huge Christmas season fans, so not only do we get to go somewhere as the holidays approach, we can also get that hit of nostalgia all year Staff was Very friendly, the bartender even shook my hand and introduced himself Price was above average for Austin on this side of town, about $10 for a draft hazy IPA. If it was a few dollars cheaper I could see us coming here more often (which would actually lead to more money spent in total… their loss) Parking was Nerve-racking. Pay Close Attention or you Will Be towed/ticketed This was in my bookmarks already to go, but I accidentally landed next door on another bookmark for Pedroso’s pizza next door (excellent pizza!). So that’s a great combo. They’ll even deliver to your seat at the bar! Atmosphere and service = 5 stars Price and parking = 3 stars Overall = 4 stars

The staff is friendly and I love how "normal" and comfortable this bar feels... despite the completely chaotic decorations. I don't even like Christmas and I think this place is awesome. The vibe is really chill and not uptight and sterile like some local bars can be.

I love the vibe of this place. It was a spontaneous stop on my weekend and I’m happy I took the time. Drew behind the bar was amazing and super friendly. Chatted with a couple of patrons while sipping on a delicious eggnog for a little holiday spirit.

Great year-round Christmas themed bar that is a taste of old Austin vibes. Can get busy on peak weekend hours, but I love coming for an early weekend birthday hang, or drinks after work. Their T-Shirt game is solid. Support your local watering hole!

I never write negative reviews. Just the worst bar I’ve ever been to and I’ve lived here my whole life. I gave this place 3 chances and that’s enough for me! The staff are extremely unprofessional and rude, I’ve never been treated like this at any other bar. On my very first visit, they accused me of having a fake ID… I just turned 21 and didn’t have a chance to get a nonvertical ID yet. Turn me away if my vertical ID was simply the reason, but don’t lie straight to my face and tell me my ID isn’t legit. The door guy and bartender were very aggressive. Every other time I’ve gone there the staff are just unpleasant. The people who work here aren’t very bright!! Go anywhere else for a drink.

Restaurant
Tumble 22 is a vibrant spot known for its Nashville-style hot chicken and happy-hour deals. This Texas chicken joint has gained popularity in Austin's fried chicken sandwich scene, offering perfectly fried, spicy-dipped chicken that can be enjoyed in sandwiches or on its own. With multiple locations across the greater Austin area, Tumble 22 has expanded from a single trailer to several outlets. The restaurant understands the balance of spice and acid crucial to great Hot Chicken.
My first time visiting Austin and we were famished and this restaurant left an outstanding first impression for the city and what dining experiences they are capable of. Parking was a little hard since the lot was really small, but we managed. They offered indoor or outdoor seating, but opted for indoor since it was blazing hot outside. We were immediately greeted with a delicious looking pie shelve, which we had to try, and the menus were QR code accessible, heads up. Our server was extremely friendly and present and the food was top notch! We started with the dirty fries and they were saucey, chicken was plentiful, and overall a welcome appetizer. The chicken sandwiches were deliciously crisp, flavorful and plump. My boyfriend got the no spice chicken whereas I got the hot chicken, and they know how to spice and prepare the seasonings to make it phenomenal. I did enjoy the hot spice level better than the no spice. Even my son’s chicken strips were juicy and he destroyed them too! Sides do not come with the meals, but it’s okay, the sides were worth the cost for how delicious they were. The broccoli salad was crunchy, delicious in the salad dressing and a good portion. The fries were crunchy, oily, bad for you tasty too! We even got dessert at the end, we were tempted, and we got the pecan chocolate toffee pie. It was super sweet, perfect for sharing as a few bites will satisfy that sweet tooth craving, unless you’re a big sweet tooth eater. Nevertheless, the pie was one of the best I’ve ever had due to its unique twist on a traditional pecan pie. Will definitely be back and wanting to try their rotating seasonal items next time. Thank you guys for the great first impression on what Austin has to offer.

Finally got to try Tumble22 after hearing all the hype from my friends, and I have to say—it’s absolutely worth it! I went for their chicken burger and ordered the highest level of spiciness, and it did not disappoint. The flavor was bold, the heat was intense yet enjoyable, and overall, it was a super satisfying meal. I also tried their dirty fries on the side, and they were a pleasant surprise. The chicken toppings added a unique twist that I hadn’t seen before, making them even more delicious. The outdoor patio was a great spot to enjoy the meal, and the overall vibe of the restaurant had a true Texan feel to it, adding to the experience. Definitely a place I’d visit again for some amazing spicy chicken!

This place never disappoints, hands down the best Nashville fried chicken in Austin! The flavor is always amazing perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and the spice level is just right. Every time I eat here, it hits the spot. On top of that, the staff is always nice and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, you’ll leave happy and satisfied. Highly recommend!

I ordered the OG chicken sandwich… DANG HOT style. And it was hot! I love spicy and this spice level hit the spot. I asked for a popular side and got the Mac & Cheese. YUMMY!!! Cheese was sooo gooey. I was excited to try this food, I was excited when I sat down and after I received the food; things just seemed weird. In vacation, first time here. I recommend going when the sun goes down so you can see the lights. Very pretty and gives great ambiance. They have inside and outdoor seating. The inside is cold, they do have fans on if you sit outside in the heat. This is a family friendly restaurant. They do offer alcoholic beverages and regular drinks. The drinks were not expensive, and neither was the food. I think I spent right around $35-$40 for two meals including drinks. You have to use your phone to get the menu. We ordered tenders and bone in. First thing I noticed was there wasn’t ANY hot sauce bottles on any table only ketchup. Thought this was weird for a fried chicken place in any part of Texas. There is a spice level for the chicken, it kind of reminds me of the Nashville hot chicken. It’s like a seasoning rub that’s used so the chicken isn’t wet in a sauce. The sauces actually comes on the side. However, they did have a hot honey which was tasty but didn’t give the hot sauce type of hot I was looking for. Eating the chicken I noticed the skin was thick and not cooked fully because it was still kind of wet and sticky under the outside coating. The wet sticky part could be felt on the actual chicken. The chicken was just barely done on the inside. I couldn’t eat it as I liked to. Of course I couldn’t have asked for fried hard but the way it initially looked, I thought it was fried hard. The chicken texture seemed in between rubbery and 2 seconds done after it being raw. Hard to explain in this fashion of explaining. I was ok enough to pick over it and eat the pieces I liked. The tenders were fried to perfection. No Nashville hot seasoning just regularly fried. The pickles that come on the chicken is sweet. They gave options of dipping sauces. After we ate, I watched a guy ( long blonde hair, not sure of name as he wasn’t my waiter) he was an Employee, he made me feel super uncomfortable with his actions that I was EAGER to leave this establishment. We are sitting on the inside to the right, which is in the shape of a square. There is me and 3 other tables with people there. This employee checks on his tables outside near us about every 3-5 minutes. So much that I start making eye contact and slightly raising hand to get assistance. He never stopped. As he’s coming from outside checking in his tables he comes inside as he has one table inside. We are sitting in a L shape and my table was at the top of the L. He checks on the table right next to me, skips the table in the middle goes to the end table then makes his way back to the table in the middle table. As I’m waiting for my turn to be checked on he simply leaves and goes back into the kitchen. After about 5 minutes get up peak in the kitchen ( because it’s no door ) and ask if someone could get my check ready. My waiter is there chilling talking about apartments. My waiter only checked on us right after we got our food then never again. I’m not the same race as the neither employees yet the other tables all were. I could only feel mistreated so I hurried and paid then left as I didn’t feel welcomed and it showed. Especially if my child asked about this when I never said out loud how I was feeling. Could have been an oversight or could have not been. Instead of making it into something more I simply left. Probably won’t return. There is another location I seen off 35. Parking lot is a nice size where maybe 20 or so cars can fit

Tumble 22 has been my favorite place to go with friends for years I can't believe it took me this long to leave a review, but Magnolia's service made me realize how much it was needed! Not only was Magnolia one of the sweetest servers we've had in many years, the food was amazing as always. The fried chicken here reminds me of my great-grandmother's recipe and the sides are always stellar (11/10 recommend the dirty Mac). I love that you can choose your own spice level. The happy hour here is by far the best in Austin especially when you throw some Big Larry's into the mix. The pie is always the highlight of the night, and the pecan toffee/chocolate pie is easily the best I ever had. Shoutout to Magnolia for turning a bad day into a great one!

Stopped by for dinner a few weeks back, it was pretty late.. there was no host, but when we approached inside. Houston was perhaps the only one kind enough to help us get a seat.. we asked if he could be our server, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was the perfect balance of crispy, soft and juicy.. I believe my sandwich was called the triple threat. I removed the chorizo and replaced it with coleslaw, praying the coleslaw would be good.. and to my surprise, it was. It def, def over delivered.. we also got some butter cream dessert our server had suggested, but went straight into digging in when we got it, I forgot to get a picture. But c’mon.. tell me this doesn’t look amazee!!!

Contigo is a popular restaurant in East Austin that offers farm-fresh Texas cuisine and seasonal cocktails in a ranch-inspired, mostly outdoor setting. The eatery has gained a large following, especially for its Sunday brunch, featuring homemade English muffins, challah, and biscuits used in various dishes. The restaurant's all-weather patio provides an ideal spot for enjoying cocktails and to-go treats like frozen margaritas and canned gin cocktails.
My favorite item was the roasted squash salad! I’ll definitely order it again. We also enjoyed the white bean dip, crispy green beans and burger. Overall, a great place to check out during happy hour. They have plenty of parking and patio space.

We came here after hearing that they were going to close for good. This is a nice place to sit and eat and visit with friends. I’ll be sad to see it go. The green beans were really good. And the pain killer cocktail was of course delicious. I got the burger and it was ok. Nothing special. The best thing about dining here is the atmosphere and outdoor areas. Very nice when the weather is good.

Superb open air dining centered around shared tables and bar style seating. Being a dog friendly spot brought us here, but wow were we impressed with the food. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned and craftily balanced together. The watermelon salad is well worth trying, it’s a unique combination. The rabbit & dumplings was (as warned) a little heavy for a hot summers day, the burger was meaty but not greasy. The chicken schnitzel was the delight of the meal and it was actually given to us as a “freebie” to try. Jose, the general manager disguised as a waiter, knew the answer to every question and oozed passion for food and the craft of what they have going on here at Contigo. His recommendations and conversation throughout our meal was super helpful. Did I mention the El Pepino cocktail with a bowl of their fresh spicy popcorn?! All in all, a real gem to have found on our first night in Austin!

I really loved this place! Their gorgeous patio gives it a lovely ambiance. We got there at 4:30 on a Wednesday which was a perfect time to enjoy the happy hour specials for the next few hours. Tried three appetizers (queso, roasted carrot salad, and tempura green beans) and they were all delicious. Tables were spaced apart which was great for Covid precautions and for having a conversation at a decent volume. Service was also outstanding. I'll be back!
Stephanie S — Google review
The whole outdoor atmosphere was great. Plenty of sitting with lots of space to hang out with friends, grab a nice drink and some food. You can bring your pets because all the tables are outside with the exception of two tables by the bar. The bar has an outside window so you can order without having to go around or wait for a waitress. Menu isn’t that big, but it has fresh ingredients. Went with a group of friends and we all got the burgers because, everything else didn’t sound that appealing to have for dinner, for brunch yes, dinner? Not so much. Burger was juicy and had a good seasoning. We tried the popcorn which was delicious and different and also tried the olives. Service was friendly. Prices were ok. I think is a cool place to drink and have some snacks but not for having a meal.

Our server, Jack, was the best we’ve had anywhere in a long time. In the blink of an eye he returned with guava and regular margaritas. We sat in the covered part. It was a little hot but totally tolerable. We started with crispy green beans and fried cheese curds. My husband and I split the tri tip. It was a little tough but served with corn and cucumber to add some moisture. I liked it. My son had the chicken achiote and he enjoyed it a lot. We ordered the almond joy cookie and homemade granola type ice cream. Def pass on the dessert and save the calories. There is plenty of parking and loads of outdoor space. We will be back.
Paige B — Google review
Full bar with great selection of beer and wine. Some good choices for cocktails. Service was good, but the menu was disappointing. Other than one veggie option and a fried catfish sandwich, every other option was a variation on beef. My tri tips was good, but others in our party were looking for some variety in the mains.
Rob T — Google review
Really decent place. Solid menu, good variety, friendly staff. The bartender didn't know how to make a proper drink, but maybe this was a one off. My dog was able to go with me - Always looking for dog friendly places and this is a good one. Atmosphere outside was really nice, got a burger and the tri tip steak. Chefs presentation was on point and the food didn't disappoint. Tucked away in the burbs, but a nice little joint to go to every now and again. Will return.

Vietnamese restaurant
The Broth & Basil restaurant specializes in Vietnamese-Cambodian style noodles, and their food is very hearty. The egg rolls were crispy and not greasy, and the charboiled pork bun sliders were fresh with veggies and flavorful pork inside a steamed bun. The pho had a rich broth that was fragrant without being overwhelming.
Food was really good! The food options all looked delicious based on the menu. Simple and white inside. Seating next to the kitchen is very noisy so try not to sit there. The waiter and other employees were really nice. Highly recommend this place. The Vermicelli dish option is a must try especially the phenomenal. Beef short ribs were seasoned well. Looking forward to coming back m!

We stopped by on a recommendation to try a new place since we usually hit local spots for Pho. Overall it was good. Not a traditional place, has a more modern feel. I am pretty sure it’s not a chain but it had that feel. The beef Pho was really good. Not sure what sizes they have available but ours looked like a large. I wasn’t a fan of the flat plate for my V bowl, especially since the fish sauce usually collects at the bottom in traditional bowls but the food was good. The service was excellent and it added to the overall experience. we will go back for sure since we moved to Thai side of town.
Señor S — Google review
Best Thai Tea!! been coming there pretty often and it’s really good every single time! My favorite are the Pork Belly sliders! The spring rolls are very appetizing as well. We had the rice with the beef today and the beef was really juicy. We also got the Pho Wagyu which was super good the only thing is it came with some brisket which was not good it had a certain taste to it, like it was old. But i put it to the side and enjoyed the rest which was amazing. Very good deal for what you pay for.

This place is definitely going in my top 5 pho places. Its pretty crowded inside but the food is delicious, even better if you eat it there. The pho phenomenal is really phonomenal. Super fun mouth feels and a delicious taste. The chicken pho is good as well. I definitely recommend checking them out especially since theyre so fast.
Syrinity J — Google review
The Wagyu Pho was phenomenal. The pho noodles were brought out "dry" in a bowl and the waiter pour an entire kettle of hot broth on top of the dry noodles filled it to the brim. I had my beef on the side bc I like to cook it to my liking). The service staff was friendly and pleasant. I will definitely come by to this place, even tho it's 20 minutes out of my way. A++

I did not like the tofu dish at all....I actually couldn't eat it. It was super thick and large chunks of tofu it wasn't appetizing looking or tasting.... it literally looks like a block of tofu was cut into six triangles. Portions are generous and the fried veggie rolls were amazing. Also the gentleman that worked there were so nice and helpful because I had never been there before and apparently I ordered on the app I was very unfamiliar with and I was having trouble and they were just so patient and kind. I will give them another try I just won't be getting the tofu
Ashley J — Google review
We went 3 adults and 3 kids (Age 7, 4 and 1 years) for dinner today. The person in 2nd picture and who sat us table said since we are 6 people, there will be a service charge. We said 1 year old is not even having dinner. He said ok but when we paid he slapped 20% service charge (a compulsory tip) 🤬 If this is how small business is going to treat customers with kids; I recommend go somewhere else. There was nothing special about food and overly salty.
Piyush S — Google review
Nice find. I was at Stone Hill Center (I guess that's the shopping center's name) and decided to look for somewhere to eat. Then I noticed Broth & Basil and tried them out. I ordered the spring rolls with tofu and the vegan pho with tofu. They were both very good. I'm glad I tried them out because occasionally I'm in the mood for Vietnamese noodles and this is a great place to go that's relatively nearby. Next time I'll try a bowl of noodles. The service was friendly and efficient. Recommended.

Pho restaurant
Phở Phong Lưu is a no-frills Vietnamese eatery in North Austin known for its exceptional noodle soup and simple yet delicious menu. The restaurant's large, open dining room fills with the rich aroma of slow-cooked beef bones infused with cinnamon and clove, drawing crowds eager to savor their renowned pho. Alongside a few pho variations, the menu offers fried rice, crispy garlic fish sauce chicken wings, and excellent banh mi sandwiches.
One of the better Vietnamese restaurants in the Austin area with great food! Definitely recommend getting the grilled pork spring rolls, crispy chicken with fish sauce, and combo pho! Portions are generous considering the prices. Even though we arrived during the lunch rush, I loved how they were able to get us seated pretty fast! They were very efficient with the queue— we signed in at the entrance, the host had us wait at their next door boba spot, we got a drink and was seated within 15-20 min considering how packed they were that day! The food came out within a reasonable time after placing our orders! Bathrooms are also clean! I will most likely return the next time I’m in the area ☺️

This is the best pho in Austin. Originally from the CA bay area, for a long time we were not impressed by pho offering and often resorted to making it at home. But with Pho phong Luu, we can satisfyour craving!! The pho is consistently good, we go there often and it's always so good. We usually also order the chicking wings with nuoc mam, add a side of bread to dip with the sauce. Really delicious! Service is quick and always responsive. The opening hours are limited, so make sure to check their schedule.
Vu N — Google review
Really Enjoyed their Banh Mi!!! The bread is hot crispy, and crunchy not tough or hard that made biting difficult. Even the tofu inside BanhMi, I could tell it’s freshly hot, not warm up hot. Favorite spot for BanhMi so far!! Tried Sweet Gruel for the first time, it’s refreshing. Overall I enjoy my experience here, the food, the service, the atmosphere. Went in during lunch time, the place is packed, but quickly served. The food arrived within 5min after order!!! This fast!!

Best pho in Austin! I am so happy I found this place! I’ve been in Austin for 3 years and have been looking for the best pho… THIS IS IT! The broth was absolutely incredible! I was blown away! The ingredients were fresh and very good. The service was great, I was seated right away and the food came out fast. Absolutely 10 out of 10! I’ll be back!

BEST IN TOWN !! Stop by for a drink , end up with 2 bowl of pho , chicken wings , spring roll and 2 big bowl Togo plus chicken wings. You must try this place !! They pretty busy so pick the times best for your schedule. Love it 💯
Hailey P — Google review
One of the best Pho places in Austin and everyone seems to know it. Expect a wait, but they have a Boba shop connected as a waiting area. Very smart marketing. The food was worth the wait. Their hours are limited so make sure you check before making the trip.

I’ve been going here since they were off Lamar and regardless after the move the service and atmosphere are better, modern but still homely. The food has always been amazing, and specially the Pho. It is a must have along side the spring rolls.

I grew up in Houston, which has a large Vietnamese population. Suffice to say, I’ve had a lot of pho in my life which has raised my standards for Vietnamese food. This little family run joint is able to hold its own in comparison to all of the greatest pho I’ve had in Houston! I got the pho tai. The broth was flavorful, well balanced, and light. The meat was tender and not overly beefy. I can tell the food here is made with lots of love. A new comfort food spot for me!

The airy, brick space features many sports TVs and a friendly staff that provides excellent customer service. Guests can enjoy draft brews, cocktails, and delicious meals at reasonable prices. The bar is known for its great atmosphere and fast, delicious food. Visitors highly recommend trying the Mac and Cheese Egg Rolls and enjoying the amazing margaritas made by the bartender Serena.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of dining at BBG's Bar and Grill in downtown Austin, and I can't say enough wonderful things about my experience—thanks in large part to Sophie! From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Sophie was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered fantastic recommendations. I tried the BBQ brisket tacos, and they were nothing short of amazing! She even suggested the perfect drink to complement my meal, and it was spot on. Her passion for the food and drinks really shone through, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. What truly stood out was Sophie's attentiveness. She checked in on us just the right amount, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Her friendly demeanor and genuine care for her customers made our night unforgettable. If you're looking for a great meal and even better service in downtown Austin, make sure to visit BBG's and ask for Sophia! She truly goes above and beyond, and I can't wait to return for another delicious meal and a chat with her. Thank you, Sophie, for making our evening so special!

We visited from Toronto and found this great spot for good bar food as well as very chill atmosphere. We ordered quesadillas, loaded tots, burgers, wings, and cookies. Everything tasted great. We originally came to watch a big fight night but ended up coming back to get some takeout a few days later

Had fried chicken here and wow, it was so good. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. You can really taste the love they put into it. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. The place itself has a nice, friendly vibe, nothing fancy, just good food and good people. The staff were super welcoming and made sure everything was right. If you’re craving real fried chicken, this is the spot. Simple, delicious, and totally worth it.

First time at BBGs, sat at the bar. Great service and good atmosphere, would highly recommend the steak skewers and sides of tots over fries. Service was quick!

I don’t usually write reviews. The food was fine, just got some wings. But I saw what I think was a manager verbally accosting one of the young women working there about a week ago. I mean the most profane language I’ve heard in a restaurant, and the woman looked visibly upset. I will never support a business that treats their working staff like this, and no one should either. Never come here.
Maddox R — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised by BBG's. I was in Austin with two 15yos and we were visiting a few tourist spots on and around 6th street. We were getting hungry and were aware that it was 6pm on a Friday night. We popped in there since we'd see the menu online and wasn't yet busy with the crowds. Boy were we glad we did. We had the place almost to ourselves at that hour which was perfect after being in crowds most of the day. One teen said that was the best burger they'd had in their life. The waitress was very kind and even offered to make mocktails for them. We'd definitely go back again!
