Barbecue restaurant
Restaurant
The Smoke Shop BBQ - Seaport is a barbecue joint founded by the renowned chef Andy Husbands, known for his success in competitive BBQ competitions. The restaurant offers a mix of traditional and innovative menu items, such as award-winning ribs and unique brisket sandwiches. The establishment has expanded to multiple locations, offering a variety of smoked meats like ribs, pork skins, brisket, burnt ends, and fried chicken.
The atmosphere is exactly how you’d picture a BBQ restaurant, down to the napkins- rustic wooden and metal decor, smelled like meat and wood. Loved how they provide all the sauces and utensils in a bucket without having to ask. The menu is easy to read with an extensive selection of alcoholic beverages & flavors. I like how they had a separate section for fountain and canned drinks, most places don’t list if the sodas are in a can and you only find out when they bring it to you. I liked the watermelon slice, a nice touch. The prices were good for a sit down place <15 for the pulled pork bbq sandwich and mac n cheese. Our waiter, Robert, was friendly and the service was quick!

We visited The Smoke Shop today for Dine Out Boston. They are offering a starter, entree, and dessert for $38, which is a pretty good deal! We felt the portions were appropriate and the food was pretty good. We each ordered different things to try a variety. For our starters we got the Mac and cheese bites (you get 4 and they're pretty big), the sliders, and the sausage. The sausage was served with crackers which turned out to be just saltines with no sauce, which felt kind of silly, but the sausage itself was good and spicy. For entrees we got the salad, the chicken basket, and brisket with sides. The dessert that came with the meal was their butter cake. The salad had a fancier name that I don't remember, and came with choice of dressing, sliced almonds, and green beans (which seemed canned and were picked out). The menu said that the salad came with choice of meat but did not include that there would be an extra charge--when we mentioned this to our server, she spoke to the manager and had it removed. Not sure why you'd offer a meatless salad on the menu; hopefully they update their menu or simply remove the charge. We really enjoyed the butter cake, though we wish it had something with it, like strawberries or caramel sauce. The brisket was a bit dry, but the sauces helped. Our server was great and we enjoyed the outdoor seating. Overall we spent $160 for three people after tax, tip, and a couple of drinks.

We went on a Wednesday night and it was fairly busy. We had 4 different meats and they were all delicious, the sides were really good too. Too much food for us to finish so bring a good appetite! No draft beers available nor our second choice of drink either but it didn’t really detract from the experience as the drinks menu is plentiful. Good value for money, nice service and a relaxed atmosphere with great food - we will definitely be back

The only reason why I gave this location 1 star was just so that i Could write this review. Me and my fiancé decided to rush into The smoke shop BBQ around 10:30 even though the last call for food was at 10:45. When we had called they told us we would have no problem being served, so we took a look at the menu on the way there just to be prepared. We arrived, ordered by 10:40pm. Then we were ready to leave the restaurant around 10:55 Because the food was rushed out, cold, bland & the bread was hard. Not only that, but the bottles of sauce they provided on the table were basically empty. We notified the server we did not enjoy the food whatsoever, that we wanted to pay & Not take our leftovers because we wanted to rush to another restaurant to actually go enjoy a meal. The server seemed like she did not care, as she did nothing to try to improve our experience. Then proceeded to charge us full price for the whole meal even though all we ate was the watermelon & cornbread. As a local of boston, As someone who has worked in hospitality as a server for years, if your craving BBQ & friendly service, stay away from here.

Not gonna lie, being from the south the land of BBQ, I was a little skeptical as to how well Boston could do BBQ! Well let me say they killed it! The food was very good and full of flavor. Had the cheese fries a new take on cheese fries couldn’t stop eating them, brisket was so good! Corn bread Mac & cheese all delicious. All I can say from a Southerner well done!

Being a native Texan transplant I have a deep love of BBQ. I’m always on the hunt for great BBQ in New England and when traveling abroad. My Go-To BBQ establishment is The Smoke Shop. July 2025 my brother and I celebrated there with Bacon wrapped Hotdogs, Beef Ribs, Potato Salad, Mac n Cheese, Cornbread, bourbon Barrel Ale and Smoked Whiskey! Shout out to “Bao” at the Seaport location. He’s all around awesome, knowledgeable and courteous. Thanks for the welcoming service!
March B — Google review
I love BBQ and go to any place to give them a try. However this was more miss than hit. The BBQ upon my visit was bland and nothing to write home about. The brisket was dry, the cucumber salad was just cucumbers sliced with no added flavors and the cornbread wasn’t moist. Even the sauces didn’t have much flavor.Maybe it was a bad day but I’ve been to many BBQ chains like Dinosaur and this was just mediocre. The decor was usual and the service was friendly. However a BBQ place is not about the ambience or staff . It’s about the food.
Steven S — Google review
Really nice place. The atmosphere is what you would expect for a bbq place. Cool buckets for your sauces and silverware. Food was really good. The spicy habanero wings were spot on. Nice little spice on them as well. Well smoked, and tender to eat. Smoked turkey was hot and juicy. Spicy links were good as well. The cornbread was really good. Potato salad was decent and beans were good as well.

Pub

Bar & grill
Nestled in the charming suburb of Newton, Buff's Pub is a spacious and laid-back bar that has become a beloved destination for wing enthusiasts. Renowned for its crispy and flavorful Buffalo wings, this no-frills spot has been serving up deliciousness for decades. The Honey Hot Wings are particularly popular, offering a delightful sweet-heat experience that keeps patrons coming back for more.
Buff’s Pub is a wing-lover’s dream and hands down the best spot for wings in Boston. With a killer lineup of flavors and the rare option to pick flats or drums on non-game days, it’s pure magic for your taste buds. The staff is beyond friendly, making you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. Sure, parking can be a bit of a hunt, and the bar is snug, but it all adds to the charm. Trust me, if you’re anywhere nearby, you’d be crazy not to swing by for some legendary wings!
Andrew — Google review
This place is so good. The food is so fresh and tasty. The Chicken wings and tenders are so good and taste fresh. French Onion Soup is great also And all the sauce combinations are my favorite wow I love tasteing all the flavors. I Highy Recommend every one too come try them out. I'll definitely be back
Jay ( — Google review
Buff’s Pub is hands-down legendary. If you’re even remotely into wings, this place should be a pilgrimage. Perfectly crispy, sauced just right, and somehow never greasy — they’ve cracked the code. The vibe is exactly what you want in a pub: loud in the best way, full of energy, and totally unpretentious. Service is quick, the beer’s always cold, and the food never misses. Whether you’re here for game night or just craving the best wings in Massachusetts, Buff’s delivers every time.
Arvydas S — Google review
It’s a decent pub with friendly and attentive service. We came specifically for the wings, but they were just average—squite tough, and the sauce was too runny for our taste. A thicker sauce would’ve made a big difference.
Gabbie K — Google review
Really can’t get better wings in the Boston area than Buff’s. I’ve never had any other item on their menu and probably never will. No thrills, Buff’s is simple and perfect. The place is always busy and doesn’t take reservations. You will have to wait a while, so put your name down with them at the front, grab a drink, and watch a game. I usually get the wing plate with Nashville hot sauce. Highly recommend for wings and good times!
Alex W — Google review
This place is known as the best wings in Boston. We agree! If a place can do great garlic parmesan wings, you know it's great. This place has unbelievable lemon pepper garlic parm wings. The best part, our server Amine! She's beautiful, attentive, and all with a smile. We could see she did that with all her tables. Ask for her section!
Rob S — Google review
Wings and sauces are worth the hype. No frills, no gimmicks & traditional bar setting. Be prepared to be near people, get bumped and make friends. It’s a great spot with a free lot a short walk away. Outside seating is available. Stays busy, service is good too.
L.A. T — Google review
Good food, atmosphere, and service. Been eating here for over 20 years and glad to see they kept doing the stuff that kept them around this long. Small pub with good bar food. Great place to watch sports with a good crowd. I will say these guys know how to pour a Guinness - just from their proper technique I noticed Guinness tastes better here. Wings are simple but great. A simple fried wing tossed in your favorite sauce. Guaranteed to have good service here, staff is very attentive and friendly, always there when you need anything.

Korean restaurant
Coreanos Allston is a casual dining spot that serves up traditional Korean dishes in a simple setting. The restaurant offers takeout and delivery options, making it convenient for customers. One of its standout offerings is the Korean-style fried chicken, which features brined and double-fried wings tossed in a choice of house-made sauces like sweet and spicy yum yang, sweet-garlic-soy, or tangy pa dak.
Coreanos has become my favorite spots in Allston. The Coreanos Bowl is packed with flavor and fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked rice, and the meat is tender and well-seasoned. The Korean fried chicken wings are super crispy, juicy inside. And their tacos, they’re unique, with a tasty Asian twist that’s totally worth trying. Big portions, food comes out hot, and the staff are super friendly. Honestly, after eating here, I can get no fresh no more, this is my go to now. If you’re in the area, get the Bowl, the wings, and one taco, won’t regret it. Coreanos never disappoints.
SHANG W — Google review
I may be one of the few who didn't enjoy the taste of the food. 🥘 My family had dinner here recently and unfortunately, the best-selling corianos bowls didn't impress us. The dish had too much mayo and an unpleasant texture. However, the soup 🥣 was delicious. I also ordered BBQ, 🍖 but it was shredded pork with a lot of onions,🧅 which wasn't what I expected. The fried chicken 🍗 was fine but overall disappointing given the good reviews. Perhaps this is how their food is prepared, but unfortunately, we won't be returning.
Cleo H — Google review
A great spot for a quick bite, this cozy Mexican-Korean fusion eatery offers a fun mix of flavors. The menu features some of the tastiest Korean street food classics like tteokbokki, kimbap, and crispy fried chicken with your choice of flavorful sauces. They also serve tacos and they’re seriously good. Our favorite was the kalbi taco. We shared a few tacos along with the chicken poppers, which were a hit. The chicken poppers come on a bed of fries, drizzled with a variety of sweet and spicy sauces. Seating is limited, but it’s perfect for takeout or a casual bite on the go.
Hannah — Google review
The Coreanos Bowl was so satisfying – the beef, sauce, and fried egg on top made the perfect combo. The Chicken Popper was amazing too, super crispy and flavorful with tasty homemade mayo. Fresh scallions made it even better. Definitely coming back!
Andy W — Google review
You would never expect this to be such a cool restaurant from the street, but once you walk in the door you will love the charm and warmth. Everything about food was perfect. We had bibimbap ,fried chicken, Kimbap and kimchi fried rice and peach limeade. The service was super sweet…. Cannot beat a good waitress who brings a great attitude and had awesome recommendations. We will be back soon!
Frank L — Google review
I DO NOT recommend this restaurant because of food quality and taste. I've been to several different korean restaurants at Boston during my vacation. Unfortunately, this restaurant was my least favorite in terms of food quality and taste. Tteok-bokki that we ordered didn't have a sweet flavor. Tteok-bokki sauce was thin and watery-it looked to me that it was simply diluted with spicy pepper paste. In addition, almost half of them were cabbage and there were no other vegetables or fish cakes. Also, spicy pork in taco that we ordered didn't taste spicy- the pork was not marinated well and haf a weird taste. Expecting from good ratings on Google review this restaurant was a disappointment to me.
Kwan J — Google review
So disappointing. Had High Hopes based on reviews. Definitely not legit. Nor is anything close to authentic. Got the most popular fried rice dish and the carrots and onions were completely raw barely even cooked. The meat was overcooked and lacking any legitimate flavor. The only thing that was decent was the sweet soy Fried Chicken but you can get way better at almost any other Korean chicken restaurant. They need to get some legit Cooks in their kitchen the staff they have Now does not know how to cook.
Keyth B — Google review
Bibimbap in the hot stone bowl tastes amazing!! Now the restaurant has switched to the heated version — it’s absolutely fantastic! Applause to the owner for this great decision! 👏

Brunch restaurant
Nestled in South Boston, Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant exudes a classic American tavern vibe with its casual and relaxed pub-style setting. The open-plan space boasts tiled floors, soaring tin ceilings, and an elegant bar that evokes nostalgia for a bygone era. This eatery offers modern American comfort dishes alongside spirits and craft cocktails. During the pandemic era, their weekday brunch service has become a highlight, featuring Fruity Pebble pancakes and wood-fired pizzas with various toppings.
The Lincoln is quite possibly my favorite brunch spot in Boston. The food is appropriately, comfort food and there’s something on the menu for everyone. My favorites are the French toast, wings, the loaded hashbrowns and breakfast burrito service is always quick and although it’s a bit loud inside with all the south residence processing their Weekend festivities it’s always a good time. Also the food is usually always piping hot!
Geneva J — Google review
We go to Lincoln all the time for a beer and some food. Their bar pizzas are absolutely awesome — super crispy, perfectly topped, and always delicious. I also love that they have some unique beers on tap that you don’t find everywhere. Great spot if you’re in the mood to try something new. Their burgers are also seriously good — juicy, well-seasoned, and made with fresh ingredients. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do. Funny story — one time we just stopped by for a quick pizza and didn’t order any drinks. The servers seemed a little surprised, but we were just craving pizza and it was as amazing as always. Overall, the vibe at Lincoln is always relaxed, the staff is friendly, and the food never disappoints. Definitely one of our go-to spots.
I. ( — Google review
The hamburger, even though they only offer the classic one on the menu, is delicious. The wood-fired pizzas are really good too. Good service, great atmosphere! This time we went for dinner, but for brunch it's a great place, especially for the Thick Slice French Toast.
Epicurean E — Google review
THE brunch spot in the heart of boston! Definitely would make a reservation on the weekend for brunch, cause it does get crowded! The fact there’s TV’s everywhere to watch the football games on Sunday! I already wanna go back ! The menu was so overwhelming with so many things that I want to try that I already know I’ll be back! The sandwich was great! I’d get it again! The only thing is I’m more of a pancake person, as my husband wanted French toast! Usually the fruity pebbles are over pancakes! It was still good but French toast is just too much bread for me! The donuts were absolutely amazing I could have ate that whole plate myself! There was like an apple pie jam ! My godddd !! Totally recommend stopping by ! I’ll be back to try more! Btw. I didn’t have the short rib poutine (not my style) ! But my husband did devour it so .. I’ll let that speak to ya’ll Also love the vibes for Halloween!
Roberts . — Google review
I am notamally a frequent Lincoln customer as i love the food & it’s a super convenient spot for where I live. So I am very disappointed to say that I had an alarming experience enough to write a review. I ordered the cheeseburger sliders and was served not 1, not 2, but 4 burgers that were completely raw in the center. Not just rare, RAW. Raw beef. I only realized it after biting in. I immediately called the restaurant and was refunded for the burger. That part I appreciated. But considering the seriousness of being served raw ground beef (major food safety issue) I was shocked that only the burger was refunded. My appetite was gone, my meal ruined, and honestly, I was unsettled. I messaged them on Instagram and got a very generic response saying they’d refunded just the burger. I then followed up via email to share how disappointing the experience was, but never received any reply. Accidents can happen, but the way a restaurant handles them says a lot.
Charlotte W — Google review
12/10 restaurant!! Their brunch menu is to die for, would highly recommend everything, but their French toast and Cali burrito are delish. I have also been for dinner, great food as well but I think their brunch is the highlight of this place. Very reasonably priced as well. We split 3 apps & each got meals and a drink, after tip it was only $65 per person
Julie M — Google review
Great way to start the day, absolutely loved the vibes and the service was wonderful. Our server, Gabby, was on top of everything. Price was reasonable and food was a hit, we all shared a bit of our plate with each other. Hope to return soon!
Natalie — Google review
I had the short ribs with truffle mac & cheese out this world, so creamy and delicious I had to write this review, not only that I wanted something for my son that was not on the menu and they went above and beyond to make it for him! I been looking for a restaurant on west broadway st that the taste matches the price and Lincoln by far is the winner, loved so much I done told all my friends and family about it, will be definitely ordering from them again and for now one take all my money 😂

Asian fusion restaurant

Bar
Moonshine 152 is a laid-back eatery in South Boston that offers a creative menu of street foods with regional and Asian flavors. The chef, Asia Mei, has crafted a menu that combines familiar comfort food with contemporary twists. Divided into four phases, the new menu features appetizers, shareable plates, entrees, and desserts. Standout dishes include bacon-wrapped bites of sourdough stuffing and flavorful tacos.
Loved the atmosphere, the staff, and the service and the food was amazing. The chef herself brought the food out and that level of personal interaction with the person who’s cooking your food is a unique experience. Will definitely be coming back. The lamb meatballs were so good and was my favorite. Went back for brunch and enjoyed everything.
Jay K — Google review
A great restaurant to enjoy delicious food. The space is nicely designed and decorated and the layout is good. The service was very friendly and accommodating even with our the large group and the chef checked couple of times if everything was good. The food was delicious, most of the meals we tried were very good. The Leslie Knop fried chicken and waffle was tasty (I was sold by the name of the meal since I am a fan of that show). We tried as well several desserts and they were good. A recommended place for an enjoyable dinner!
Wassim A — Google review
I’d heard a lot about Moonshine, and finally had the chance to check it out. We came in a little late (around 10:25pm, with the kitchen closing at 10.30pm), so things felt just a bit rushed, but the staff handled it with fast and friendly service. The food really blew me away—especially the jalapeño crab Rangoons and the bacon-wrapped stuffing bites. Absolute standouts! Drinks were tasty too; the garnishes could’ve been a touch more polished, but I get that the vibe here leans more toward comfort and creativity than fine dining pretension. What really makes this spot special is the personal touch—the owner, who’s also the chef, came out with the food herself. She’s not only talented in the kitchen but also a great artist, which adds so much character to the place. Definitely want to come back soon for brunch—if dinner was this good, I can only imagine how amazing their brunch spread must be.
Sharanya S — Google review
What a gem! We visited Moonshine 152 in Boston during a family trip from California and had an incredible time. Chef Asia Mei, daughter of my TaiChi teacher, Master May Chen is truly gifted. The menu is a vibrant fusion of Asian flavors, and everything we tried was delicious. The Korean BBQ tacos were especially spectacular! The atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming, the drinks were fantastic, and the staff made us feel right at home. Whether you’re a local or visiting Boston, this is a must-try spot for a fun and flavorful evening out.
Jane J — Google review
Father's Day dinner at Moonshine 152 was an adventure in flavor. We were lucky enough to have fabulous service from Sandra. We chose to eat family style starting with cocktails and then into appetizers. We shared a few entrees and wrapped up with some amazing deserts. Asia brought us some of our dishes and chatted with us. It was an exceptional experience.
Rich C — Google review
Out of this world delicious. This place is on an other completely different level than any other place that serves food. Cos this place does not serve food. It delivers the most unique, delicious, custom, savory, sweet delicacies from the beautiful mind of chef Mia. This is a bucket list spot for and serious foodies. You will cherish the experience here.
Mark L — Google review
I stumbled across Moonshine 152 on my first night in Boston for a business trip, and I’m convinced I found one of the city’s culinary gems. The cocktails? Spot-on. The food? The kind that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate it. And the service? Let’s just say the owner/chef herself came over to our table, chatted with us for five minutes like we were old friends, and even surprised us with a free butterscotch pudding (which, by the way, should be illegal for being that good). I loved it so much, I came back the very next night and it was another flawless experience. Two-for-two on incredible meals, creative drinks, and warm hospitality. Moonshine 152 isn’t just a restaurant, it’s the kind of place you immediately start recommending to everyone you know. Also, our waiter, Ben, was funny, attentive, and fun to talk to. Five stars, no hesitation. If you’re in Boston, do yourself a favor and go. Then go again.

African restaurant
Suya Joint Boston is a casual restaurant in Roxbury offering traditional Western African cuisine and a full bar. Chef and owner Cecelia Lizotte's catering business expanded into a restaurant space in 2016, featuring popular dishes like the flame-grilled spiced skewered beef known as suya and the Saturday-only Ofada stew. The menu includes Jollof rice, soups, stews, vegetarian options, meat pies, and family meals.
I think this is one of the best food spots I've ever been to. I was recommended Suya Joint by my friend, and I was very excited to try it because I've never had Nigerian food before. First, the service was friendly and fast. We ordered the dry rubbed chicken wings and beef samosas. I don't know what seasoning they use but it was delicious and the perfect level of spice where we can still enjoy our meal. The beef samosas were so light and flavorful too. We also ordered the African platter which consisted of jollof rice with plantains, egusi soup and fufu. We ordered extra goat as well. It was literally so mouth watering and amazing. Everything was perfect, seasoning was on point, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I would also recommend the pineapple cake for desert. Best way to end a spectacular dinner!!!!!!

Our party of two came here on a Thursday evening at 7:30 for dinner. We had a reservation, but it didn't seem necessary given there were three other groups there. We were promptly seated at our table and the lively wait staff came by to take our drink and food orders. We got the joint sampler with beef samosas which was awesome. The moi moi was great and reminded me of tamales. The wings and samosas were super flavorful as well. The drinks came out when we got our entrees which seemed a bit late. We got the taushe stew with eba (pounded cassava) which reminded me of a cross between Thai peanut sauce and butter chicken. I got the crispy chicken special and asked for the "fire" spiciness level with the plantains and jollof rice. The chicken had great crisp to it and was spicy, but not uncomfortable (although I eat a lot of spicy food so your mileage may vary). The jollof rice had awesome flavor and the plantains were amazing! Definitely recommend coming here, but be prepared to take your time because the service is a little slower than I had hoped.

My friends and I are obsessed with this place. We saw it mentioned online and went to try it - so glad that we did! The flavors are absolutely amazing. Rich and tender. We always do the beef suya plate with jollof rice and the egusi stew with pounded yam and split it so we get some of everything. The fried plantains are magical. Highly recommend!

When you go out to eat aren’t you looking to escape from the same old same old? Suya Joint takes you by the hand and takes you someplace both unique and deeply familiar. We all need to feel the warmth and kindness from strangers that is all too rare these days. The vibe is lively, playful and exciting while also being nurturing and real. The music, staff, food and drinks are all fabulous.

This is a take out review. I ordered the African Dinner today and I must say it was very disappointing. Sorry folks, I know there's a lot of good reviews for Suya Joint out there but the food tasted very disappointing. I have Nigerian in-laws and have been eating their Egusi for 20 years. The Suya's did not compare to their cooking and they had the same basic ingredients. Now it could be that I ordered the mild, non-spicy version, which can make a big difference in taste but overall, however, the chicken that was in the Egusi amounted to the drum part of a wing. Not the best tasting, kinda bland. When I opened the bag, the meal was comprised of mostly jollof rice. The rice was pretty bland as well. It didn't reek of quality and was a bit dry. When the Suya Joint first opened in Roxbury I thought that the food was pretty good. I'm not sure what has happened along the way. When my family ate this take out order, I felt that the quality is decreasing and prices are increasing. Not sure I'll order from them again.

Me and my girlfriend came here two weeks ago in our visit to Boston. I am very particular about how my African foods are made, but this place is absolutely amazing! My girlfriend is Guatemalan, and when she tried their egusi and fufu she ended up dragging us back the next day!! Will be coming back on our next visit to Boston!

Overall my experience was really good. My, now ex, took me to try fufu for the first time and I fell in love. Our server was very friendly and combinative. The restaurant was very authentically designed, and had artwork and pieces of African culture to look at. We ordered the Joint sampler but unfortunately only the stew and spicy suya wings came out which were super yummy regardless, and we were told moi-moi was unavailable. Not sure why we never received the beef samosas but in replacement of the moi-moi we got sweet fried plantains which were so flavorful. Finally when out entree's came out, I realized how happy I was to have tried fufu at this location. It was so tasty and even better than what I expected. We got a cocktail as well, although i could not find the name of it. It was decent but not great. We also got a coke in a plastic bottle which happened to be flat, so that was kind of disappointing. Overall though, food-wise, highly recommend this restaurant for some great African Cuisine.

Meeting friends..made a reservation through OpenTsble. Multitasking waitress Jayda was the highlight. Second only to the food. She graciously greeted me and made me feel very comfortable. Shes a gem just like her name. I ordered several drinks and appetizers to include the dry rubbed wings. The moi moi was listed on the menu with stew, however, it didnt come with stew. No worries, it was still tasty as were the wings.

Known for its delicious chicken wings with various flavor options, including dry rubs like Old Bay seasoning and sauced options such as barbecue and Buffalo, the pub also offers rotating specials for food and drinks.
Shine Sq Pub can easily hold up against any other establishment in a Best Wing competition. I've been in Boston for a few years and this is my old faithful & reliable. Great dive bar in a great location near Porter.

Happened on this place by chance after Somerville's Porchfest, and was very glad we did. First off, unlike a lot of sports bars which have a few large screens and small screens scattered around, this has many small screens everywhere. This way, you're never out of view of a game. Saves your neck a lot of turning. Then, the drinks are pretty good. And they pour a beautiful glass of Guinness. The food was great, loved the fries with parmesan. Overall, an awesome place to grab a drink and watch the game with a couple of friends.

Slades Bar & Grill is a historic establishment with a rich legacy, once owned by Celtics great Bill Russell. Since its opening in 1935, it has been a cornerstone of Boston's Black community and has hosted iconic figures like Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King Jr. Today, under new management, Slades continues to be a vibrant hub for soulful jazz and R&B music, offering classic southern cuisine such as their famous fried wings and oxtail special.
As a big fella from Mississippi I stamp this place approved. Slade’s in Boston serves food that feels like home. The fish was fried perfectly, golden brown, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The mac and cheese was cheesy and full of flavor and the greens were clearly fresh with just the right amount of spice. I am in town for almost a week and I can guarantee you I will be back at least two or three more times.

I was actually very satisfied with our choices. Fried chicken wings , catfish nuggets , fried shrimp, & the steak tips .. very goood !! The rice & black eyed peas 👌🏾 & potatoes salad 🤞🏾 now i am not at all interested in the mac & cheese , would not recommend …
Ky-Jaya J — Google review
I’ve been to Slade’s a few times, but this was my mom’s 1st time dining here. Since then, she has done takeout twice! I know how busy they can get so I decided to come in around 3pm before the rush. Our waitress was kind and helpful. I ordered their fried chicken wing dinner with the sides: mac & cheese and black-eyed peas & rice. My mother ordered their rib dinner with the sides: potato salad and collard greens. Everything came out hot and fresh. I never tried their ribs, potato salad, and black-eyed peas & rice until now and I am blown away! We will be back to order more items off the menu!

I urge you to take some immediate action regarding the food options! The new baked macaroni and cheese made with curly noodle shells simply does not meet expectations. It comes across as bland and lacks the depth of flavor we’ve come to enjoy. Additionally, the potato salad has lost its appeal; the once creamy and flavorful dish now tastes mushy and unseasoned, failing to create the delightful contrast it used to provide. The collard greens are equally disappointing, as they are soggy and overly salty—far from the vibrant, savory side dish we remember. I genuinely miss the culinary talents of SLADE or the chef from last year, whose dishes brought creativity and satisfaction to our meals. Right now, it feels like the overall quality of the food is on a concerning downward trend, and I hope improvements can be made soon! All change ain't good change.. Horrible!

The food is amazing. You must try the yams, catfish nuggets, really anything. Flavorful, fall of the bone, succulent. Go on a weekend night and you'll get the right atmosphere.

Mac and cheese, candy yams and fried shrimp. Mac and cheese was gross, no flavor at all, the candy yams and shrimp were amazing. The shrimp by itself is $15 and they don’t give you a lot, but it definitely tastes amazing. I would get them again. Went to the bar and got a green tea shot drink for $13. Good atmosphere and vibe
Treturus S — Google review
Spent 33$+ on a Chicken Dinner plate for delivery. I woke up hours later with food poisoning. The sides I ordered were both questionable. The macaroni and cheese was cooked different from what Is normally served with different pasta and different taste. The yams were a weird size and texture. Also unlike what I normally receive when I order. Wings were huge but bland. Now my stomach is killing me. Never again!

Restaurant
Sweet Cheeks Q is a popular restaurant in Boston owned by Tiffani Faison, a well-known restaurateur with accolades like James Beard nominations and appearances as a judge on Chopped. Despite her fame from Top Chef, she chose to focus on straightforward barbecue for her first self-owned venture in 2011. The restaurant offers BBQ trays, Southern sides, and inspired cocktails served at family-style tables in a welcoming space.
Yep. We approve - the biscuits were in fact quite delicious. As others have heartedly recommended the pork belly, it was supppper tasty. Some of the broccoli casserole paired with it well! Have a “Texas sized sweet tea” to top it all off. Frankly though, if you like the biscuits, then the dessert versions are worth your time. The strawberry short “cake” is a warm, sugared biscuit with house cream and berries. Fantastic wrap up to a really good BBQ stop up east. We’d recommend this spot and we’d certainly come again.
Taylor G — Google review
The biscuits are soooo good! I got the pulled pork tray with coleslaw and Mac and cheese. Also got the golden bbq sauce which was very tasty. Pulled pork was also very good. Wasn’t too crazy about the coleslaw and the Mac and cheese but they were still good👍
Madison G — Google review
The world famous biscuits (scones) are a bit of a grift, wouldn’t recommend ordering those. I grew up in the UK and those scones are no better then any bog standard scone you’d find in a run of the mill cafe, with various service charges they worked out at over $4 a scone. I got BBQ chopped prime brisket which was good. All natural pulled chicken tasted very..earthy. Like what root vegetables would taste like before washed. I wouldn’t visit again, was quite overpriced and a 25% total service charge for tables over six seems like a bit of a rip. Expect to spend $50+ per head all in for a mediocre meal which probably only does well because of the proximity to the stadium.

Been coming to Sweet Cheeks for many years. Their food is good, in general, and very consistent. We had a couple of very poor take-out experiences here so will only dine-in for lunch. We usually get the trays with a couple of scoops. Their pulled pork, fried chicken and biscuits are all very good. The pickles, baked beans and farm salad are great sides. Their desserts are too sweet and decadent so we avoid those. Their take-out portions are so much smaller for some reason, which is why we only dine-in now. The place is dim and too loud with music for dinner. You have to scream to be heard, so we only come here for lunch, when you can actually have a conversation. Overall, we do enjoy their food and can always count on a solid meal every time.

Had a great weekend and tried out “Sweet Cheeks” BBQ for the first time. As southern transplant I’m always looking for good BBQ Ordered Salt and Pepper Potatoes, Smoked Wings, Hot Links, Fried Chicken, smoked Pork Belly, St. Louis Ribs, Prime Brisket, Burnt Ends, Mac n Cheese, Broccoli and Cheddar casserole, Buttermilk Biscuits and Honey butter with Oreo Banana Pudding. Whew… Shout out Uber Eats this explaining my score for the atmosphere I have yet to experience in person. It’s fair to say and meal is typically better served hot during a Dine In experience. All in All the food was good. As Texan I will say this BBQ is “Safely Seasoned” for public consumption but the smoke was flavorful but Moderate. There Honey Butter and Biscuits rival another establishment I used to Roadhouse for their bread and butter. Pro Tip - add a side of their seasonal Jam to take the biscuit experience to a new level. Would defunct reorder.

Very tasty BBQ! Had the Big platter( 2 meat combo ) with two sides. 4 small Ribs and 1 Jalapeno hot link sausage with potato salad and broccoli casserole $29.00. The real stand out was the potato salad. Some of the best I have ever had and I have some potato salad. Im a fan of Top Chef and this is what brought me here.

I'd say skip the barbecue and get the delectable fried chicken and biscuits! The bbq is, unfortunately, as with most American-style bbq places in Boston/New England, not really worth it. The sides are good, the mac 'n cheese is nice, the broccoli cheese gratin is delicious, and the biscuits are amazing. The other sides are aight. Finally the wait staff is wonderful. Bottom line, if you want to take my word for it, just get the fried chicken and biscuits.

We had a great dining experience. From the food, to the service and atmosphere everything was top notch. The family style dishes were filling and very flavorful. I would say that for 2 ppl, 3 dishes is more than enough. We didn’t have room for desert. The drinks looked great; and the non-alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced. Would definitely go back there!!

Among the best food in Boston… with lemon ricotta pancakes that are life changing and really hit the spot for brunch. Shockingly not crowded even on a popular Sunday! How is this possible? Pricing is on the higher side, sure — but it’s worth it and portions were large. Dinner may not be the same story. We ordered across the menu and didn’t have a single un-devoured item among the lot. Desserts are decadent and could honestly stand to be less luxuriantly sweet, but the savory dishes were stellar throughout - although I’m going to break my own rule and say the sweet\savory pairs especially the pancakes and French toast were of course the best of the whole selection. The crispy potatoes… incredible! “60 degree eggs” run a bit soft so request a higher cook temp for those if you can. Try the steak+eggs Benedict too; those were another stand out. Burger was solid. Sandwich was solid. Nothing too fancy from the greens alongside, could have used more color there perhaps? A little tomato and feta? Outdoors can be WINDY so be aware. It was a little annoying but nice and secluded behind the venue. Indoors is cozy, darker, pretty standard for the area. Service is friendly and attentive. Do not miss this brunch! Bring a jacket if outdoors though. Would love to see heaters installed in this area. Portions are plenty big. The idea of 1-2 per person is generous and contributes to the high cost some reviewers cite. Maybe this is a bit different during dinner. Most folks will find one dish is enough but it can vary from dish to dish. Pictures will be helpful here so check those out.

I haven’t been to this beloved brunch spot in quite some time largely due to the persistent challenge of securing parking, but it has remained one of my perennial favorites. On this return visit, we ordered the farm vegetable shakshouka and the French toast with roasted strawberry and rhubarb, and both dishes reaffirmed why this place holds such high esteem in my memory. The farm veggie shakshouka was a standout. I deeply appreciate that they offer a vegetarian version of this traditionally egg-centric dish, and as the name implies, the vegetables were impeccably fresh. More than just an assortment of seasonal produce, the vegetables were thoughtfully chosen and well-textured, allowing them to stand up to the richly spiced tomato base without being lost in it. The balance between the earthy sweetness of the vegetables and the warming acidity of the sauce demonstrated a nuanced understanding of the dish's North African roots. The French toast with roasted strawberry and rhubarb was equally exceptional. The fruit, rather than being an afterthought or garnish, was roasted to intensify its natural sugars and deepen its flavor. The strawberries brought a bright, almost jammy sweetness, while the rhubarb offered a subtle tartness that cut through the richness of the toast with elegance. Together, they created a vibrant interplay of flavor and texture—a true celebration of the season’s best. This meal reminded me why, despite logistical inconveniences, this place is well worth the return.

The vibes and the service are amazing! The drinks are very unique! However, the foods are good but not the best. The restaurant filled up very quickly on a weekend night! So make sure to reserved ahead.

We started with the morning fog drink and coffee. Coffee was smooth, drink layers of flavors amazing. We started with the side biscuit and it was amazing and the homemade butter perfect. We split the focaccia egg sandwich and French toast between us and had plenty left over. French toast was not too sweet, greens on the side of the sandwich and the sandwich was incredible. What a great chef!!
Shane O — Google review
Ive been a few times during brunch. Once in a group of 2 and another a group of 7. Both times I reserved in advance which was especially necessary for the group of 7. The back patio is lovely during the warmer weather, otherwise, I like inside under the skylight. The interior of the restaurant is dark and has a dimmed light atmosphere which isn’t my favorite for brunch. The Montecristo sandwich was really great as was the focaccia egg sandwich. The bravas skillet is 90% potatoes so I’d only recommend for potato lovers.
Timothy T — Google review
The chicken fried rabbit was slightly overpowered by the blue cheese, Duck pierogi could’ve been better with less dough, for the steak, the meat was sort of chewy although the color for medium rare was correct. I enjoyed all these dishes though and the ambiance was perfect and upscale. Would come back ❤️

Restaurant
Redbones Barbecue in Davis Square is a popular and lively spot known for its generous portions of BBQ and Southern-style sides. The menu offers a wide variety of meats including St. Louis ribs, pulled chicken, and sliced brisket, as well as appetizers like fried hush puppies and Buffalo shrimp. During the pandemic, they have adapted by offering barbecue takeout and pouring craft beer selections into take-home growlers.
My wife brought me here for my birthday, and I’m officially hooked. The first time, it was just the two of us and our baby. Parking was a classic Somerville adventure (translation: almost impossible), but once we stepped inside, the grungy vibe and cozy atmosphere made it all worth it. The food? Unreal. Hands down the best Southern cuisine I’ve ever had. I ordered the baby back ribs, and just thinking about them now has me ready to grab my keys and head back. We came for lunch, and I could tell this place had the magic. The second time, we brought the whole family—two adults, two kids, and the baby—and sat in the basement. Tight spaces, but it kind of felt like we were part of some underground BBQ secret society. Total damage? $150, tips included. Not cheap, but honestly, it felt fair given how ridiculously good the food is. Service-wise, you order online and tip upfront, which feels a bit weird (like paying for delivery but for your table). But as soon as the food shows up, all of that becomes background noise. Redbones is a flavor bomb that makes every little hassle—parking, tipping upfront, even sitting in the basement—completely worth it. We’ll definitely be back, and next time I might order two racks of ribs just to be safe!
Davi S — Google review
Let me start by saying: the menu is a bit misleading. The 3 meat combo platter is listed at $31, but if you want to add something like brisket, hot chicken, burnt ends, or really any of the more popular meats (except pulled pork), it’s an extra $4 each. That kind of pricing structure left a bad taste in my mouth—not because the food isn’t good, but because it makes the menu frustrating to navigate. In my opinion, a platter should reflect the cost of its most popular meats rather than having a bunch of annoying premium add-ons. Because let’s be honest nobody goes to a barbecue joint and orders a platter with pulled pork, pulled chicken, and hash—they come for things that I listed above, burnt ends, brisket, ribs, etc. My second gripe is the portion sizes. At first glance, the tray looks great—and I’ll include a photo—but once you have it delivered to your table ready to dig in, the portions are surprisingly small. The mac & cheese was literally two bites, and the cornbread square was about 1”x1”. For two people, our tray came to $52 after tip, and we both left feeling like we could’ve eaten more. Personally, when I go out for barbecue, I want to leave absolutely stuffed and satisfied—like I won’t need barbecue again for a year. At $26 per person, that should feel like a heaping plate. Splitting it left us both disappointed with how little food there actually was. That said—the barbecue itself is excellent. They really don’t miss on flavor. My honest recommendation to the owners: raise your prices and raise your portions. The food deserves it. Until then, if you’re planning to share a combo plate between two hungry people, I’d suggest grabbing an extra side or an appetizer to make it a full meal. Overall, I’d still recommend this spot, especially for the quality of the barbecue. Just go in knowing what to expect when it comes to portion size and pricing.

I’ve never wanted to leave a restaurant faster. I’ve been going to Redbones for over 10 years - the last time in 2022 - and for as long as I can remember, it was the spot for barbecue and for that authentic Southern vibe. The blues posters on the walls, the music drifting through the dining room, the red-checkered tablecloths, and the lunch trays loaded with food - it always felt like more than a meal. It felt like being at the barbecue. But now, all of that is gone. First, the food was just terrible. The brisket was somehow greasy and dry at the same time, and the mac and cheese tasted like it came straight out of a Kraft box. The only redeeming items were the cornbread, biscuit, and marmalade. But the bigger issue is the atmosphere. While the blues posters still hang, the soul of the place has been completely stripped away. Instead of that warm Southern energy, we were met with blasting Mexican music so loud I could barely think. I love Mexican music - but in a barbecue joint surrounded by blues posters, it felt wildly out of place and uncomfortable. The dining area itself felt sterile, more like a hospital cafeteria than a restaurant. Everything seems geared toward takeout now: no more red-checkered tablecloths, no more mason jars for drinks. Drinks come in boring clear glasses, and instead of real utensils, you’re handed plastic cutlery wrapped in plastic with a flimsy napkin - exactly what you’d expect from a takeout bag, not from a sit-down meal. Even the format of the restaurant has changed for the worse - the got rid of the bar looking over the barbeque pit and you can now see into the kitchen (the most unappealing parts) The service was terrible too. We had three different people rotate through our table, none of them remotely friendly. They didn’t feel like servers - more like staff rushing around to box up orders. Even the bar, which used to be the lively heart of Redbones, was lifeless and sterile. The entire time, my brother and I kept saying the same thing: Redbones is unrecognizable. It’s lost everything that made it special. I left in shock at just how far it has fallen - and I won’t be going back. Bottom line: If you want overpriced, bad barbecue served with plastic utensils in an atmosphere that feels soulless, Redbones is the place for you. Otherwise, avoid it like the plague.

Before covid this place was my absolute go-to on a weekend night out. The downstairs, Underbones, is a bar, with carpeted low/high table section and awesome wood carved skateboards, dog bones, and psychedelic fantasy paintings on the walls and ceilings. The upstairs section I'm not a fan of. Food: the buffalo wings are a great appetizer and they run pretty spicey with a unique take on a homemade rub and buffalo sauce. Very juicy but crispy on the outside. The beef brisket sandwich melts in your mouth and comes with 1 side as well as both hot and sweet barbecue sauces. I've been here many times and can day that the pulled pork is also really phenomenal. It was time to write a review.

A great old time dive bar, with prices you can’t beat. Hasn’t changed a bit over the years, the sign outside is testament to that. We all had a great time in there didn’t eat but would throughly recommend going and hanging out in the bar before places like this don’t exist anymore.

One of the worst BBQ platters I’ve had in the GBA. Even in Boston's lackluster BBQ scene, Redbones was by far the most disappointing experience I've had. I ordered the Smoked Beef Brisket Platter and the Baby Back Ribs for takeout, and both were horrendously dry except for the fatty portions. Without the BBQ sauce and some coleslaw, they were almost inedible. I decided to give Redbones another shot and ordered the BBQ Meat Platter and Buffalo Wings on my second visit. The Meat Platter, a combo of pulled pork, pulled chicken, and burnt ends, was decent—nothing to write home about, but not bad either. However, the Buffalo Wings were a total letdown again. They were drenched in a lackluster buffalo sauce, and the wings themselves were as dry as a Boston winter. I have no clue where all the good reviews are coming from, but I'm definitely not biting on Redbones again. The cornbread was probably the only thing I really liked, but that’s not a good enough reason to lure me back.

New ownership apparently! Used to love coming here, the food, the atmosphere and service were all great. A lot of its definitely been lost. Long standing workers seem like theyre gone. Menu is so misleading where it was possible to order something for $35 and get the same as a $21 menu item (meat platter and 3 main combo. 3 main combo used to be great for sharing. Came with 3 meats in separate larger containers, now theyve stuffed much less into a single tray thats equivalent to getting the $21 meal) Burnt ends were not burnt ends and have lost a lot of their flavor. Bar seemed empty on a busy saturday afternoon. Really disappointing, hope the new owners can go back to the original principals that made the place great for so long rather than gutting an institution for profits.

Ordered off uber eats and all said and done this plate, with a side of corn bread, was $60 after a $5 tip. Weak plate with one piece of chicken, small side of collared greens, and a handful of fries. Never going to pay money for this again.

Brunch restaurant
Harvest is a long-standing restaurant in New England that offers contemporary seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The open kitchen allows diners to watch the chefs at work, and the restaurant has recently been redesigned to include fireside dining. In addition to its indoor dining area, Harvest also offers a private Garden Terrace for outdoor dining during warmer months. The menu features a variety of seafood dishes, including lobster bisque and locally sourced raw bar options.
I have never been here before and was invited to a wedding. The restaurant set back from the street, which is nice. The back room is quaint and isolated from the main dining area, which is wonderful for a private event. The beets & Goat cheese was fresh and mouth watering, just perfect. The potato soup was good, I prefer it a little thicker and more bacon in it. The main course I chose was steak, and it was cooked perfectly but it was not very warm ( it’s hard for a large number of people I understand). The steak came with a bed of mashed potatoes and green beans, which were both delicious. I will definitely make it back for a family dinner, the food & experience overall was great.

The service by Ruben was excellent. Went for Sunday brunch. Sourdough toast under the eggs Benedict was old on my order, burned on the other order in my party. This restaurant would be better for a regular lunch or a dinner. I feel like brunch is what they didn't sell all week. Dessert was spectacular!

This spot is always a favorite — if not for the food, then certainly for the atmosphere. The service is consistently impeccable, and the menu offers a wonderful range of choices, from vegetarian dishes to meats and fish. On this visit, we started with the salad topped with goat cheese croquettes, which was divine, and the roast chestnut agnolotti. For our mains, we both chose fish — the swordfish and the halibut. The swordfish was excellent, though the halibut was just slightly overcooked. I continue to enjoy going here but because it is pricey it is only for special occasions for me.

Pretty good place, duck and chicken were okay, but not great. Gnocchi was too soft. Potions were very small especially the ice cream. Service was strange, dishes came out right away and we felt rushed but there were very few people there. Did they not want us? Felt very overpriced in the end.

Solid dining in an upscale space (4 stars). But taking away one star for a (big) pet peeve of mine that Harvest was guilty of - high end restaurants charging premium prices for glasses of wine should bring out the bottle and pour at the table - if you're charging me $30+ for a premium glass of wine and boasting about your Wine Spectator designations, then I should get to see the bottle you're claiming to pour.

The place is hard to find bc it’s not in the street but in an alley where cars cannot pass. We arrived early so had drinks n fries while waiting fur rest of the party to arrive. The fries were sauggy. The seafood tower at $125 is not worth it. It’s very good presentation. The oysters n shrimp are good but the muscles were bland. I guess I like them in a broth smothered in butter n garlic Better off getting dz oysters n shrimp cocktails sep. the lamb was great n the pekin duck was great. The desert crème brûlée was great. The wine was superb. Our server Jacob was friendly, courteous n attentive which I always appreciate. We had a great meal.

I truly am in AWE of the desserts! The Mango Petit Gâteau with champagne mango, lime cake, basil cous cous was such a unique mix of flavors and textures that somehow felt like “why haven’t these always gone together?!” It was meant to be! I also had a pot of MEM tea and Charcuterie. Humbolt Fog, Mimolette, chicken liver mouse, and country pate were all new to me! So fun! Loved the cheeses. Not too fond of the liver. Seriously, I would LOVE to be a taste tester for this place :-). I spent the day exploring wonders of the world at the Harvard Museums, and ended it with a culinary masterpiece here!

Very nice restaurant. Quiet atmosphere despite being busy. Sat on patio which was comfortable. I enjoyed the scallops and quinoa salad. My partner had the grilled eggplant. Our server was very kind and made sure my order was gluten free. Very good service.

Mediterranean restaurant
Sarma Restaurant is a vibrant establishment in Somerville, part of Ana Sortun's culinary empire that includes Oleana and Sofra. The restaurant offers a modern Mediterranean menu with an emphasis on Middle Eastern flavors, serving up meze and small plates in a colorful setting. Inspired by traditional Turkish meyhanes, Sarma creates a communal dining experience with craft cocktails, local beer, and an extensive wine selection.
Truly incredible food. Flavor just explodes in your mouth for every dish. We got the corn bread, and gyro bread and I think I will think about both for the rest of my life. Wish I had pics of those to share. We also got the Tunisian tuna tacos, and the Cajun lamb and both were just indescribable. So good! Our server was great as well! I can’t remember their name but they were from Hollywood FL and were super nice and very knowledgeable about the menu!

- Everything is really good on the menu, but if it’s your first time I recommend any of the following: Black Sea cornbread, Lentil Nachos, Harissa BBQ duck, Scallops are excellent. Note the sesame fried chicken is brought around to tables when it’s made fresh, but cannot be ordered on demand. - Lots of really nice cocktails - Due to high demand, this place mostly requires a reservation, but there are 20 bar seats available for walk ins as well - Prices are very reasonable and quality is excellent; one of my favorite restaurants in Boston

This place is insanely good. A few things to know before coming: - if you don’t have a reservation, and it’s the weekend, expect a line 10-15 minutes before open. - Sarma is tapas style, so be ready to order 2-4 plates per person. - if you have a picky palate, then maybe a sports bar is better for you. We went as a group of four, and all four of us agreed Sarma was one of the best culinary experiences we have had in recent memory. Each dish is expertly crafted with layers of flavor, and texture in mind. We like to grade dishes A+ through F- and out of 16 dishes only one got a B+ with the rest being A+ to A-. Highlights were the Black Sea Cornbread, Lentil Nachos, Chickpea Fritters, Fresh Sesame Fried Chicken, Mole Carrots, Lamb Kofte Sliders, and the Harissa BBQ duck. Service is prompt and great at handling large crowds of people in waves, decor and atmosphere also quite nice. Has incredible return value, will be back!

We had the best date night at Sarma! We didn’t have a reservation. We showed up on a Thursday night. Because we were flexible on sitting at the bar v. a table, we waited about 10 minutes (faster than the estimated wait). We were able to order a drink right away. It was the first time dining out in a while where we thought the food was so creative, delicious and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the cornbread, scallops, and crab dishes. The drinks were equally delicious. The service was great at the bar. The waiter asked if we had visited before and then introduced us to the concept and his favorites based our dietary needs/preferences. They asked about allergies. We had great conversation and vibes throughout the dinner. The environment colorful and bustling. Parking is limited so plan in advance.

This is an extraordinary restaurant! I feel this restaurant is the best in Boston! They use so many different herb! Tapas. All the dishes blended well . The employees are so friendly. Our waiter was Alexis tonight. He gave us a great experience.

I truly believe all the praise Sarma receives is super well deserved. Our expectations were dangerously high going in and Sarma exceeded on all fronts! The food, drinks, and service were all exceptional! Food: All the plates we ordered were all so unique and flavorful and it was such a treat exploring them. If only we had the stomachs and wallets to try everything on the menu. Our favorites were definitely the cornbread, the brussel sprouts, and the Cajun lamb kebabs. The first bite of every dish always got us perked up and excited to try more! Also the drinks we tried were a hit with everyone! Service: This was a perfect service experience! The staff checked in frequently and effectively, always quick to deliver on requests. The plates came and went so smoothly allowing you to focus on the food and the people you’re with. Atmosphere: The energy felt so celebratory! The decor and lightly immersed you in the dining experience giving you so many interesting and beautiful things to yet your eyes wonder on. Though there was constant chatter, we could easily hear everyone in our 5 person party because of the quieter background music and the spacing of the seating.

What a disappointing experience after hearing/reading raving reviews and having to make a reservation a month in advance. The food was not bad per se but definitely not as incredible as others say. For starters, we were served their fried chicken which was promoted as their special dish for the night; they had staff walking around offering it for $15. I should’ve read previous reviews to learn that this is a dish they commonly offer. I also thought the way they promoted it was strange, and felt bad saying no. The only dishes that were actually noteworthy are the zucchini tiganites and cornbread. I'm always happy to splurge when it comes to meals but way too overpriced when the quality wasn't all there. The staff were not friendly. When I first walked in, the hosts had a very cold approach. The interactions I had with my waiter were quite awkward as well.
Nina N — Google review
This was one of the hardest reservations to get, so our expectations were very high — but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The appetizers were noticeably better than the main courses, and sadly, many of the dishes were overly salty. We ordered quite a lot to try a good range of the menu: Avocado muhammara, fava bean pâté, Cuban-style pork, the famous cornbread, fritters, sugar snap peas, Brussels bravas, halloumi, fried zucchini, lemon beef, BBQ duck, lamb sliders, and for dessert, loukoumades with brown butter coffee and corn butter cake. The standout dishes were the cornbread, sugar snap peas, lamb sliders, and BBQ duck. The sugar snap peas might have been our favorite bite of the night — perfectly balanced and flavorful. The cornbread was outstanding as expected: salty from feta, spicy from jalapeños, and slightly sweet — all in one bite. Incredible balance. However, found a hair in last bite of the cornbread, which really ruined the experience. The staff handled it professionally and removed the item from the bill, but for a restaurant of this caliber, it’s simply not acceptable. The BBQ duck had good flavor, but half the pieces were quite tough while others were overly salty. The lamb sliders reminded me of a sandwich version of an Iskender kebab — well-seasoned meat with yogurt sauce that nicely balanced the richness. Unfortunately, several dishes were almost inedible due to saltiness — especially the fritters, lemon beef, fava bean pâté, Cuban pork, and halloumi. The avocado muhammara and fried zucchini were fine, but not particularly memorable. For dessert, the loukoumades with Turkish coffee sauce were excellent — the sauce paired beautifully with the fried dough. The corn butter cake, however, was underwhelming. Overall, the experience was lackluster. Service started off great but dropped off after we ordered — it was hard to find our server, and check-ins were rare. Also, the drinks were mediocre, and the “Turkish coffee espresso martini” was particularly disappointing, arriving without much crema or foam. After waiting years to finally try Sarma, it was a letdown, and unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon.

This was the best Bloody Mary we’ve had on our trip to Boston - Pablo is an excellent bartender and has a secret recipe scratch mix - yum!!! Delicious burger and Cesar salad too. Great music and friendly atmosphere. Five stars - definitely stop here when in Cambridge.

The staff at this restaurant went above and beyond! We were especially impressed with April, the general manager—she was outstanding. Paul made this first time visit a top tier experience. Right away, he gave us excellent service and attention. We are from out of town and gave us tons of other recommendations to check out in the area. The drinks were elite. Lastly, we ordered the Grilled Lobster Tail and it was accompanied by a corn pudding 🤩 This visit alone makes it worth coming back for when the Cubs and Red Sox play again. ⚾️

A bunch of us just stopped here before a wedding for a cocktail. Bartender was awesome, very personable and made out short visit a positive one. On the way back we had to pass thru to get to our car in garage. This place was bumping with a great vibe to it. Have never been to Harvard Square but want to go back and see what it is all about. This place will be on our list to actually experience it in full. No pics as just a quick spot but worth a visit.

Picco is a laid-back and inviting neighborhood spot in South End, Boston, known for its delicious thin-crust pizzas, homemade ice cream, and selection of wine and beer. The restaurant's name reflects its expertise in comfort foods. In addition to their renowned pizzas and ice cream, Picco also offers oven-roasted Dry Rubbed Chicken Wings that are seasoned to perfection. The establishment has a retro vibe with brightly colored chairs and a soda fountain, creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
Last min decision to come here for lunch and we couldn't rave more about the experience. Our server, Grace, was a delight. Pizza was light and crispy. Chicken riggie was substantial without feeling heavy. The ice creams are home-made! Love the hot honey wings too!!

I thought a place couldn’t make good ice cream and pizza at the same time: I was wrong. The ice cream here is top notch. Definitely worth a visit. I only tried the ice cream, and decided to take the caramel swirl. The ice cream here has a really unique texture: it’s very rich and creamy, almost like fudge. The caramel flavour was delicious and kept me coming back for more, and I really liked that there were actual swirls of thick liquid caramel mixed into the ice cream. It’s really close to 5 stars: only thing missing is a pinch more sea salt in my opinion, and this might have been the best caramel ice cream in Boston. Definitely worth a try, will come back to try the pizza as well!

I made reservations to sit inside. There were other tables open. So I don't know if the reservations were necessary. There is outdoor seating as well. We shared a grilled chicken Caesar salad and a pepperoni pizza. The chicken was moist and perfectly grilled. The pizza was so good. The sauce tasted like the tomatoes were had squeezed and the mozzarella cheese was so yummy. The pepperoni were the old style that curl when cooked. There was a perfect char on the crust. There was a little flop to the pizza. But it was so delicious. I will be back. We also tried some of their house made ice cream. We brought 2 pints home. Great place. Great service. Great food. You won't be disappointed.

I’ve been coming here a long time for ice cream, probably the best in the area like many other reviews have attested to. The dark chocolate sorbet might be my favorite frozen treat in Boston. It is everything I wish chocolate ice creams were: rich and fudgy without being overwhelmingly sweet and heavy. I only recently tried their pizzas (got take out) and they really did not disappoint!! I got the sausage fennel and the muffuletta. Both briny, meaty and delicious in their own ways. For those of you that do not like too much char on pizzas, I would highly encourage you to order the pizzas “lightly cooked” contrary to the warning against this that is on their website. It made for a delightfully chewy and airy crust that was like a nice piece of bread you could probably dip in sauce or olive oil to end the slice. Here’s a closeup shot of the crust for color.

Didn’t have a reservation, but they were nice enough to seat us outside! Inside probably would’ve been too loud anyway. The inside is set up like a small family restaurant, booths and table fit into the area on the left, the grab and go ice cream counter on the right, and the kitchen in the back. Our waitress was super helpful in recommending food, and the food was good. We got the hot honey chicken wings 🍗🌶️ - but they weren’t that spicy, and would’ve been better with a dipping sauce. The pizzas were loaded - we got the Alsatian, a white french pizza with caramelized onions and bacon, and the sausage, broccoli rabe and olive pizza. The dough / crust was the standout. A little sourdoughy - always light, airy and chewy. Must try the ice cream! The pistachio had a lovely texture - a couple ice chips and tiny pistachio meal. Delicious flavor!

Delicious pizza with a crispy crust, paired with a refreshing IPA. Ended with their house-made ice cream, which was delicious. Overall a great spot for pizza, beer, and dessert. They also have other options in the menu. Only thing to note is they add a ‘kitchen service’ fee on the bill in addition to tips, which was unexpected. Still, worth a visit if you’re in the area.

We ordered delivery to our hotel downtown Boston. We ordered a Pepperoni pizza, spaghetti and meatballs & wings. Everything was amazing! The pizza especially. It had this perfect char on it. The wings were perfectly cooked, not overdone. I highly recommend!

I went to this pizzeria based on a hotel recommendation. The first time, they gave me so much runaround about getting a table that I left and ended up having a great dinner elsewhere. Gave it a second chance and thought, “Why am I even here?” The pizza was mediocre at best—I’ve had much better. Service was good, but if you’re looking for great pizza, this isn’t the place. Not recommended.

Giulia is a popular Italian restaurant located in a bustling city, offering a cozy and rustic setting with communal dining. Chef Michael Pagliarini's love for Umbrian cuisine is evident in the well-balanced flavors of the dishes, including eggplant caponata and handcrafted pastas.
My wife was flying home from a business trip in Tampa and asked me to pick a place to go out to dinner for my birthday and I chose Giulia. We arrived and got on the waitlist to sit at the bar, our favorite place to dine. The hostess was so pleasant and when it was time for us, she didn’t call or text, she came and found us and ushered us to our seats. We were greeted by Matt and our Giulia experience began. The atmosphere is so relaxed and welcoming, the food is absolutely fresh and delicious and the service is attentive and impeccable. We started with cocktails, mine was the mezcal with habanero, Margie’s was one with special rum, pineapple and orgeat, both well balanced and wonderful. We chose to start with the eggplant caponata. The mix of flavors and textures with the sweet pepper and golden raisins and the toasted almonds and capers were simply delicious. We both ordered a full bodied, red wine to go with the dishes to follow. Next, not on the menu, was a truffle pasta special that was absolutely special. The creamy, buttery sauce, cheeses, fresh pasta and truffles were truly amazing. We followed up the pasta with the house made sausage which sounded like a “beans and greens” dish, which we love and absolutely did not disappoint. And I have to say, the portions at Giulia do not over do it, they are right sized and let you try multiple choices from their wonderful selection. Next was on to dessert and when Matt told us the chef was excited about how the chocolate chip, mint ice cream had come out, we just had to try it. And we were totally glad we did, every spoonful was joyful. We dubbed this dessert “Chef’s Excitement “ and shared the new name with Matt who chuckled at our excitement. Paired with a port for me and a Vin Santo for Margie, it was the perfect finish. Overall, Giulia is a magnificent dining experience, every dish is a well portioned masterpiece, the service is impeccable and we cannot wait to come back.

Great food and service. I know they can get away with it because they are so good but my only gripe with this place is that you have to have a reservation to get a table. To me it comes off a bit off putting if you are trying it out for the first time and didn’t know….(which happened to us) since it’s not common for most restaurants to ONLY allow reservations. Anyways the bar is your only option if you didn’t manage to snag a coveted reservation and the bar service was wonderful so I can’t complain. Overall, I loved the food and the standout item for me was actually the chicken liver crostini and the pistachio gelato dessert.

Let me tell you this place takes the cake! It was hands down the most amazing meal of our entire visit to New England this year. Honestly, it’s one of the best all-around meals I have ever had the privilege of consuming in my life. The atmosphere? We sat outside and it was magical. The service? The entire staff knew their menu inside and out, and they were so attentive and friendly. Food? Can I please give it 10 stars instead of 5? I mean seriously, if Google allowed such a thing, I would name this place my MVP for 2025! You cannot afford to miss out on this dining experience. Also, we were seated next to a very picky pescatarian and her gluten-free boyfriend, and it was impressive how well the server handled their very difficult order and made them equally as happy as everyone else!
Colt J — Google review
The food here was overall exceptional, and a step above some of the other fancy restaurants in the area we've tried lately. The highlights of the meal were definitely the Erbazzone and the Semolina Cakes, which were both small plates. The Erbazzone is spinach based and perfectly prepared to have a great texture and make you really really enjoy that spinach. The Semolina Cakes were small sponge cakes with a savory mousse, where the truffles they used definitely stole the show. We had the Pappardelle with Boar and Corn Agnolotti. The Pappardelle was more standard, very well cooked but not as stand out as the apps. The Agnolotti (ravioli) itself had a delicious corn cream filling that was on par with the appetizers, but the mushrooms in the dish contrasted rather than enhanced the corn flavor in our opinion. Still tasty food, but not exceptional like the appetizers. The hazlenut torta was also excellent, it came with a banana gelato that really made the dish, and graham cracker crumbs, everything played really well together. We had wine and I had a Jungle Bird Negroni, which had a really tasty and sweet pineapple foam on it that was unique. The Negroni itself was pretty standard to me. It was difficult to get a reservation for 2 here, took a few weeks of trying. The staff was polite and attentive. The atmosphere is a pretty standard restaurant, nothing special but nothing obnoxious either, it did feel classy. I'd definitely recommend coming here for a special occasion, I'll try to come again a few months from now and maybe focus more on the appetizers as those were the highlight for me for sure. Total cost was $230 after tip and tax for 2 people

This is the best restaurant in Cambridge, if not all of Greater Boston. If you're lucky enough to get a table, then you'll be treated to fresh and creative Italian cuisine at its finest. The service is also impeccable (both in the dining room and at the bar), and they will go the extra mile to accommodate dietary restrictions. What a treat!
Chris G — Google review
In the heart of Cambridge, tucked away near a quiet residential street, sits Giulia, one of Greater Boston’s most acclaimed Italian restaurants. Known for its intimate dining room, hand-crafted pastas, and the steady vision of Executive Chef Michael Pagliarini, Giulia has become a culinary destination where securing a table often requires persistence—and patience. Reservations are notoriously scarce, so I opted for the walk-in counter option, arriving half an hour before opening. By the time the doors opened, the line of eager diners was a clear sign of the experience to come. The evening began with oysters on the half shell, their freshness undeniable. Rather than masking the purity of the shellfish, the accompanying sauce deepened the flavor with subtle complexity. It was an elegant opening, one that spoke of balance and restraint. Soon after came the wild boar pappardelle, a dish that alone would justify Giulia’s reputation. The wide ribbons of pasta carried a pleasing bite, perfectly absorbing the richness of the ragu. It was rustic yet refined, each mouthful a reminder of the restaurant’s devotion to craft and tradition. The main course, a pork loin, arrived tender and perfectly cooked, its succulence heightened by a thoughtful arrangement of sauces and vegetables. Nothing on the plate felt excessive or ornamental; every detail had purpose, each garnish chosen to enhance rather than distract. It was the kind of dish that demonstrates how confidence in technique can achieve quiet brilliance. From beginning to end, the meal reflected not only excellence but also intent. Every course was executed with care and precision, yet delivered with warmth and accessibility that made the experience feel personal rather than performative. Chef Pagliarini’s influence was unmistakable, guiding the kitchen toward dishes that honor Italian tradition while speaking to contemporary palates. Giulia is far more than just a neighborhood restaurant—it is an experience, one that rewards patience and promises consistency. For anyone seeking Italian cuisine that combines elegance, authenticity, and heart, Giulia stands as one of Cambridge’s true gems, well worth the wait every single time.

This was one of the finest dining experiences we’ve had. We’ve heard about Giulia for months now, reputed as one of, if not the best Italian restaurant in Massachusetts, which meant we had extremely high expectations going in. Combined with the difficulty of getting a reservation due to the popularity (with many nights waiting at 12am sharp hoping that I refreshed fast enough), and finally we had secured a reservation. The food is heavenly. We ordered the erbazzone and grilled rosemary flatbread for appetizers, and both were so delicious— especially the erbazzone, which was probably the tastiest appetizer I have tasted. I still crave it as I am writing this, and my girlfriend feels the same way. The flatbread was also amazing, though the erbazzone trumps almost anything from the night. My girlfriend ordered the vegetarian bucatini, and I ordered their famous wild boar pappardelle. Both pastas were excellent, though not as standout as the appetizers. It was really nice to note that they deducted the price for the vegetarian pasta from 28 (which would include meat) to 18, which we really appreciated. Finally, we ordered the yogurt panna cotta with beach rose, toasted coconut and winter citrus for dessert. Oh my god, this is the greatest food I have tasted in eons. My girlfriend thinks it’s the best thing she has eaten (and we’re both very judgy with food!). Neither of us had thought we would enjoy anything rose-flavored so much, with the taste recurring with each bit of saliva, slowly dissipating with time. It is as if rose bloomed in our mouth, slowly melted to our tongues, and withered away as we bit away and let it wither. The sweetness gave way for the rose, and the rose enhanced the coconut and yogurt tastes. We should have ordered another one. Overall, this was probably one of the top three meals in my life, and certainly best in the New England area. I HIGHLY recommend everyone to go, and honestly it might even be better to just order their appetizers and desserts without pasta. Their pastas are good, but the appetizers and desserts are on a whole different level. 11/10 experience. Also cute seatings outside on a beautiful afternoon. A shame we forgot to take pictures of the appetizers and desserts because they were SO GOOD. Keep in mind the portion size might be a bit smaller than you would like, but in my opinion it adds to the experience. I hope they get a Michelin recommendation at least, if not a star this year. Hope this helps to anyone contemplating on securing a reservation!

Giulia delivers an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The house-made tagliatelle was exceptional, perfectly cooked with incredible depth of flavor. The appetizer oysters were fresh and beautifully presented. Service was exceptional, attentive without being intrusive, and the warm, intimate ambiance made the evening truly memorable. Area Four is a trendy cafe and bakery in Cambridge that has become a favorite among the local technology crowd. In addition to their famous pizzas, they also serve salads and indulgent dishes like croissant-crumb-topped mac n cheese. The stylish cafe provides a great setting for casual meetings or collaborative work sessions.
Area Four Pizza in Boston totally impressed me! The prosciutto americano was hands-down my favorite. The carnivore pizza was also a standout, The crust on both was perfectly crisp and chewy. Oh, and their garlic bread is full of garlic and buttery flavors coated in cheese. So delicious, don't skip them. We ordered two large pizzas, and it was just enough for 5 of us. Also, they have a very extensive beer list. The atmosphere has amazing energy, perfect for hanging out with friends or just enjoying a casual night out. I would highly recommend stopping into Area Four.

We ate here for two evenings because it was so good the first time we visited. The supreme garlic knots were amazing and great as a shared starter. The pasta dishes were good but the pizza particularly good as it is cooked in a wood fired pizza oven, the service was excellent on both evenings and I would definitely recommend Area Four for pasta & pizza. We sat outside which was nice but the inside had a great feel too.

We ordered for pick up as we were driving from Maine and craving this pizza for dinner. Sadly once we got said pizza home what we received was a burnt carnivore pizza. The pizza was somehow undercooked on the bottom and burnt black and crispy on top. The toppings were also charred which didn’t taste good at all. But what do you do after a long day of driving?? My boyfriend ate slices of the least burnt pieces and I had a slice but my toppings fell off my soggy slice. Smoky flavor all around. Guess I just wish someone had done some quality control before handing over this pizza to us. When you pay 32 dollars for a pizza you kind of have higher expectation for the quality of food. Very sad to have had this experience tonight. We hope tonight was just a flaw in the cooking or oven equipment. Thanks.

Area Four is the kind of place that makes you want to cancel your next few plans just to stay a little longer. From the moment you walk in, there’s this buzzy, effortless cool—part industrial hangout, part neighborhood gem. The wood-fired pizza? Absolute sorcery. The crust has that perfect char, chewy inside, and the toppings taste like they were foraged by pizza monks. We had the mushroom and the carnivore—both showstoppers. The cocktails are sharp, creative, and dangerously drinkable. And the staff? Laid-back, funny, and clearly love what they do. If you’re not already obsessed, one visit will do the trick.

The crust on the pizza was the star of the dinner. Garlic knots were also good. Service was a little slow and the restaurant is loud, but would return for the crust! There is a good selection of local beers too.

Really really solid pizza at a reasonable price. Small pizza was about $20 and can probably serve 2 people (or one very hungry person). Crust was nice and crunchy without too much flop. Great beer selection too but a little pricier ($10-13 for drafts)

We got takeout from here on two nights during a trip to Boston/Cambridge. Both times we had the Sausage and Pickled Peppers pizza and we think it's probably the best pizza we have ever had! Also it's ready super quick and was piping hot! The large pizza is a great size!

Ok, I love pizza and wings, and this has got to be one of the best I have ever had. The pizza was amazing, fresh ingredients, perfect portions of toppings, very fast delivery to table. This place is easy to get to in Cambridge, nice little park/grass area on the side for kids to run around if you need. Was in town to visit my daughter at Northeastern and we tried this on Saturday and Posto Sunday. Don’t waste your time with Posto, that place is a joke. Area Four is by far one of the best pizzas places I have ever tried. The wings were also perfect, not drenched in sauce, perfectly baked so there is a crunch but not dry. Waitress was friendly as well. Plan ahead with a reservation or go early or later than the rush times. Trust me, you’ll really enjoy the food!

Silvertone Bar & Grill is a cozy subterranean spot with a retro vibe, offering comfort food and specialty cocktails at affordable prices. Located on Bromfield Street, it's known for its delicious buffalo wings and amazing mac n' cheese served with mixed greens for under $20. Situated in Beacon Hill, it's a popular choice for business lunches, attracting professionals, professors, and students from nearby Suffolk University with its American comfort food menu.
A great place for a lunch. We both had the Dave's Chicken Sandwich, which was delicious. Our waitress was lovely. I only gave a 4 fir atmosphere as there was a group of noisy people at one of the other tables and it was a bit dark.

This restaurant provides a cozy place to enjoy some good food at a reasonable price. Having quite an appetite, we ordered 3 appetizers including a taco special followed by an entree each. Surprisingly the appetizers and tacos were unimpressive while the entrees amazed. I highly recommend the steak tips which were flavorful and cooked to perfection.

Cool place, nice location. Minute or two walking from the Quincy Market area so it's close but not crowded. Service was good. Food was pretty good. I had cajun salmon and felt it was a little bit lacking in flavor. Not a big deal though. And my wife loved her shepard's pie. Would definitely go again if I'm in the area.

This is truly a hidden jem in downtown Boston. Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. You should stop by for the food and easy conversation with the staff and other patrons. If you are looking for a cool underground spot this is it.

Little Donkey is a trendy restaurant located in Central Square, Boston, offering an eclectic mix of international small plates and craft brews and cocktails. The dining room features a variety of seating options and has a lively atmosphere. The menu includes unique dishes like Caviar Sandwich, BLT Lettuce Wraps, Manti, burgers, pho, pupusas, and lobster fra diavolo.
I came here for dinner on a Monday without a reservation and got hightop seating for a party of 4 (regular tables were all occupied). Overall the serving sizes exceeded expectations for a small plates place, and there were some great flavors! Great, would get again - The Bangkok street noodles had a wonderful smoky flavor and a good amount of pork. - The mushroom fried rice was really good! Nice variety of mushrooms and perfect rice texture and flavor. - The grilled octopus was cooked very nicely. Okay, wouldn't get again - The salmon crudo was fine but nothing special. - The empanada was pretty mid. - The crispy pork belly was not what I expected. Felt more like a salad and the pork wasn't that good compared to the Bangkok street noodles. It's not a cheap place -- if we had gotten 2-3 dishes per person as was recommended, we would easily have spent over $50 per person (most dishes are $17 to $25). But the portion sizes for the rice and noodles were larger than I expected, and those two dishes were quite scrumptious. I'd come back!

The food at Little Donkey is so unique and flavor forward! It’s delicious and always a fun time and I really appreciate how often they change the menu while still keeping some of their star dishes like the fried rice and the miso cacio e Pepe! This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.
Brigitte B — Google review
The atmosphere is nice, but the food is very very average. The Bangkok noodles and octopus were overcharred, such that none of the other flavor notes came through almost at all. An extra star for gluten free consciousness. But it was a two star experience in terms of the culinary side. And very pricey for tapas. If you end up here with a group of friends, it won’t be the worst thing, but don’t waste a date night.
Brett H — Google review
Little Donkey was definitely an experience! Everything we got was interesting, even if I didn't love it. I would recommend this if you're a fan of trying new tastes.

Not a great place for vegetarians. But the mushroom fried rice and Parker house rolls was decent. The roast beets was quite average. My husband recommends the Manti and he was not a fan of Southern Greens. Overall good vibe and service. A little expensive for the experience. Also, would be great if you could add some more vegan options.
Enakshi C — Google review
The food went so fast that I didn’t have time to take pictures of it. Little donkey has got a cool vibe with a large interior space that looks a bit like a stripped down factory, giving it some urban hip sensations which are augmented by the steady stream of good Rap music. It is pretty dark in there and it feels kind of like a club, but the food menus, served tapas style, has got a lot of great flavors and innovation, and everything disappeared very fast. The cocktails were also very good. Iberico pork steak was excellent. The tuna tostadas were very savory and delicious and the tuna was very fresh. On the whole, this place is pretty expensive, but they work hard to earn it.
C Z — Google review
The food here is just not good, frankly I could cook something better, I just didn’t enjoy anything other than the BLT lettuce wraps, the drinks were great but wow..this is the most sub par place I’ve ever been to, don’t recommend for food at all it’s just okay
Spencer G — Google review
I had a girls’ dinner date here and loved the vibe! The dim lighting at night creates such a cozy atmosphere, and the cocktails (and mocktails) were on point. We went with a bunch of tapas-style dishes: ceviche, burrata, scallops, roasted carrots, cauliflower, Bangkok street noodles, and the pork belly. Almost everything is shareable, and the food came out quickly. Everything was delicious, but the standout dishes were the scallops, ceviche, and roasted cauliflower! Definitely recommend. The portions left us feeling satisfied, not overly stuffed. For dessert, we tried the cookie dough, which was a total surprise—one of the best things I’ve had in a while! It comes with a generous scoop and a side of white cream with chocolate chips. The presentation was super fun, too, with a baking beater for decoration. All in all, a great spot for quick bites and drinks, whether you’re with friends or on a date night.

We had the tasting menu + wine pairing. While the dishes were slightly underwhelming, the wines were very well paired. Arrive 30 minutes prior to allow yourself adequate time to find parking (and walk). Parking in this area of town was rough.

I recently visited Puritan & Company for Dine Out Boston and had a very enjoyable dinner. The atmosphere was lively, especially after 6 PM when the restaurant filled up quickly. Service was attentive and friendly, and the bathrooms were clean—a detail I always appreciate. To start, I ordered the Citrus & Tonic mocktail. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend it. Mine was about 80% ice, lacked flavor punch, and for the price, the portion of actual drink was disappointing compared to similar mocktails I’ve had at other restaurants in this range. From the first course, I tried the chopped salad, which was fine but on the basic side and could have used a bit more flavor. On the other hand, the crab salad was exceptional—bright, fresh, and well balanced. I would absolutely order it again. I also had the smoked bluefish pâté, which I highly recommend. It comes with plenty of toast, so if you order this (or the crab salad, which comes with crackers), you can probably skip the Parker House rolls to avoid bread overload. For my main, I had the Dijon herb half chicken from the Dine Out Boston menu. It was a generous portion, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor—definitely a highlight of the night. Dessert was the bread pudding with malt custard, banana bread crisp, vanilla ice cream, and salted caramel. It was delicious but very rich—I couldn’t finish it. Overall, despite a couple of misses (mainly the mocktail and salad), the food quality, and ambiance make Puritan & Company a five-star experience in my book. I’ll be back, and next time I’ll be sticking to their seafood starters and hearty mains.

Overall the food was creative and tasty . Some of the dishes were incredible while others were good. We ordered east coast oysters which were very fresh and briny. Beets and Burrata salad was delicious. Burrata was fresh and creamy, the beets and oranges added a nice kick to the salad. Crab cavatelli, garlic shrimp and pan roasted cod were good but not dishes we would return for. What was outstanding was the bone marrow. Very delicious and the taste, texture and sauce were amazing. It is the dish I definitely recommend together with the east coast oysters (if you like raw briny oysters). The lemongrass desert was unique and creative , the chocolate bread pudding was rich and very chocolaty but a bit too sweet. Our server Jorge was wonderful. Very friendly, engaging and professional. He gave us very good recommendations and we felt very well taken care of. The atmosphere and ambiance were great too and we had an enjoyable dinner at this restaurant.

Nice ambience with friendly service. Though the Cambridge restaurant was packed with dinner customers the service was friendly and fast. The food portions were slightly small for the high price. The oysters were fresh. The pork shop was delicious. The wine drink was paired well.
Ty L — Google review
I was disappointed with Puritan. I ordered marrow and it was slathered with far too much sweet sauce and the toast was too buttery. The crab risotto was too salty and presentation not attractive. Drinks were very expensive, and actually the whole meal was too expensive given the quality of dishes. The ambiance was nice but I unfortunately will not be coming back.

The Smoke Shop BBQ, led by renowned chef Andy Husbands, is a must-visit for barbecue enthusiasts. With multiple locations in the Boston area, including Kendall Square and Harvard Square, this restaurant offers an array of mouthwatering smoked meat dishes. While their pork ribs have claimed top honors at national competitions, it's the Famous Wings that steal the spotlight with their sweet and smoky flavor profile.
Can I give you guys a 10/5?! Everything was exceptional! 🤩 This grilled meat restaurant provides an exceptional dining experience with deliciously tender and flavorful dishes. The quality of the meat and impressive taste appear to be standout features, creating a memorable culinary experience. This is a really good place for tourists to have an American style meal! Our waitress Daisy was the best!! So kind patient. She took time to explain the complete menu and gave us recommandation! You have to try Texas style brisket and the burnt end 😋 I will come back for sure! Keep up the good work! ☺️

Very good ! The food is great if you like to eat meat. Rally good. The sides are good but not a great variety of them. There aren’t any spicy side. And they don’t have any Tabasco or any other spicy sauce to order , that was a bit weird for me. The waiter was so kind and servicial . Very good. All was as expected , very good .

Incredibly good barbecue, some of the best I've ever had. Everything from the tenderness to the seasoning was stellar. Even the sides are great - I went with a friend and he got an extra side order of fries because they're just that good. Would happily visit again.

Maybe it’s because I’m from KC, but this was the best meal I’ve had in Boston, hands downs. A few things that put it over the top: 1) the bacon pieces that came on the wedge salad 2) the pickles side item 3) the watermelon that came with the plate. And the bourbon selection was just awesome. So great.

The food was delicious. I would definitely go back again. Pork sandwiches were delicious as were the Buffalo ribs, which I'd get again. There was a good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. I almost forgot to mention the Mac n cheese balls! They were amazing. Don't be afraid to order Mac and cheese here, it delivers!

First time dining at “The Smoke House” I arrived at the tail end of the rush lunch crowd. Service was amazing and super friendly staff. The food advice was spot on by the server. I had the most tender brisket, flavorful pulled pork and hot links. Finished off with the amazing German chocolate brownie. If you are in the area, I highly suggest coming here. Way to go Boston! Follow-up five years later. Gluten free options are great. Very low fat pulled pork, baby back ribs and smoked turkey. The fresher brewed tea is great too. My wife had a crunchy plant based chicken sandwich with crinkle cut fries. Highly suggest dining here.

Got the BBQ chicken sandwich with a side of potato salad. Honestly the potato salad was absolutely phenomenal, I wish I could have asked for more. It tasted rich and the mayo wasn't overpowering. The BBQ itself was also phenomenal, but you'd definitely need to add some sauces to get the true benefit. My favorite was the Gold Medal sauce, which seemed to be mustard based. They provide 3 sauces, which were supposedly ketchup-, mustard-, and vinegar-based. I just wished the portions were bigger. The food came out pretty quick and the service was homey.
Viggy V — Google review
In 2021, I tried the Burnt Ends at the Smoke Shop at Assembly Square. That moment changed my life and I associated Smoke Shop worth Burnt Ends ever since. Fast forward to 2024 and I visited Smoke Shop at Kendall only to be confused - this wasn't the same Burnt Ends I fell in love with. I was puzzled by the sauce they doused the Burnt Ends with, which added nothing to the dish. To make matters worse, the meat which weren't burnt enough and wasn't even warm enough. Where's the fire? Where's the flavor? I wanted to be engulfed by the fiery flavor I experienced back in 2021, but walked out damp and defeated.

Lively Spot in North Cambridge with Solid Food, but a Few Hiccups (Really 3.5 stars, but rounding up) We recently had dinner at Cambridge Common on a hot summer evening, and while the food was solid, the service had some issues. Booking was easy—we used RESY, and the host who answered the phone was polite, helpful, and welcoming. The restaurant offers outdoor seating, which is a great option on a nice day, though we sat inside. We ordered the Buffalo Mac & Cheese, Carnitas Tacos, and a Fried Fish Sandwich (swapped with sweet potato fries), plus a Brownie Sundae for dessert. Everything was tasty and satisfying, especially the fries with chipotle aioli. That said, a few things detracted from the experience: • It was hot, and we felt a bit overlooked—we both needed refills on our drinks, and no one checked in for quite a while. • There was a screaming baby nearby. Not the restaurant’s fault, but it made for a less relaxing atmosphere. • The most frustrating part: one of us left a credit card at the table, and while we were away, the staff added a 22% gratuity without consulting us. We hadn’t signed or closed out yet, which felt presumptive. The receipt listed Alana Y as our server, but several staff members rotated through. • Also good to know: they calculate tip on top of tax, so if you’re aiming for 20% on the pre-tax amount, tipping 18% on the full bill gets you there. Service was disorganized. The food was enjoyable, and the atmosphere is lively and casual—but this isn’t the place for a peaceful dinner. We’d give it 3.5 stars if we could, but rounded up to 4 for the solid food, good vibes, and easy reservation process.
Kelly C — Google review
A very quiet Tuesday lunch, indoors. The booth table had a few crumbs on it and was sticky. And I was the first customer at it. The waitress was correct in recommending the fish and chips. The breading was good and the fish filled it. The portion was very good and the price reasonable. But 1. Everything lacked flavor. Slaw was bland, said breading could have had salt and spice 2. The fries, as indicated, were thin. I'm OK with no salt on these, but the ones on top were fine but the rest got cold fast and became soggy from the slaw. I'd go back and order it again but either replace them or ask for fries on the side. Keep the salt n pepper nearby.

Service was fantastic and the beer was delicious and cold. The hamburger I got could have been better in that the patty was disproportionately small compared to the bun, which made it a little dry. The curly fries were great. I definitely cleared my plate!

Bar
Rosebud Indian-American Bar & Kitchen is a reimagined American restaurant that offers chef-driven dishes and handcrafted cocktails. It has been recognized as one of the best diners in Massachusetts, alongside other iconic diners in the state. Located near Davis Square, it stands out as a restored Pullman diner with a unique ambiance. While its food may not be exceptional, the experience of dining in a historic setting adds to its charm.
Rosebud has been a historic staple of Somerville for several years. Originally built in 1941, it has recently gone through some changes with the new owners attempting to add a South Asian flare to the traditional diner cuisine Rosebud is renowned for. Prior to the changes, I had gone several times and had an excellent experience between the food, service and atmosphere. Since its changes, there have been 2 dining experiences I have gone with a group of 3 others with. Initially, the food was underwhelming such as the hollandaise sauce on the eggs benny that were ordered as well as the masala chai french toast although the waffle order was satisfying. Aside from that, the additional berries cost $3 yet provided literally 2 berries. There were some other issues like the door being held open for a long period under frigid conditions (apx 30 or less degrees) to the point customers began putting their winter jackets on and complaining. The drinks on the other hand were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. After speaking with the owner/manager, they had invited us to return for another experience with a discount after overhearing our qualms and concerns. Upon return, the additional berries option was removed from the masala chai french toast and I found the food to be absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the drinks did not disappoint at all just like the time before. The Tandoori steak frites, butter chicken pot pie and the Ros omelette were the dishes of choice this time around. The tandoori steak frites had a nice flair to it due to the makhani sauce. While I personally felt it was a bit overcooked (I like my steak rare), it was not overcooked to the point it was inedible at all, but closer to medium/medium well. The butter chicken pot pie had a wonderfully flaky crust and a warm, moist, perfectly seasoned butter chicken that while delicious in the summer time, reminded me of waking up on a brisk morning and taking in the first sip of hot coffee to warm myself up. The Ros omelette had a curry that a spice blend that was a perfect medley of indian spices and minced onions that complimented an omelette so well that I think I'd like to eat my omelettes like this moving forward. The new Rosebud has overall been doing excellent with taking feedback to improve, and maintaining aspects of the old Rosebud charm while adding its own flair to make it unique, would recommend trying it out!
Ashraful R — Google review
Rosebud has a charming diner ambience that sets a cozy and inviting tone, which we really enjoyed. The cocktails were well-crafted and refreshing, though our server seemed unaware that Tajin was available for the spicy margarita, which was a bit disappointing. The food, however, didn’t quite hit the mark for us. As a fusion Indian-American restaurant, we expected bold, vibrant flavors, but the dishes lacked the punch and spice we were hoping for. The Kerala fried chicken, for instance, was dry and less flavorful compared to the Nashville fried chicken you’d find at local Boston pubs. The avocado toast, which mentioned green chutney, came with only a hint of red crust and didn’t deliver on the promised flavor profile. While the concept is interesting, the execution needs improvement to truly stand out. With some tweaks to the spice levels and flavor balance, Rosebud could be a much stronger contender. For now, it’s a decent spot for drinks and ambiance, but the food needs to catch up.

I had my 50th birthday day grease party theme at this diner and it was fantastic. The food the staff the manager. You won't regret it. Here are a few pictures. Diner food with an Indian kick. Great spices on the food.

We enjoyed Sunday brunch in the charming street-side diner section. I ordered the Tikka Tots with Diced Chicken, while my daughter chose the Masala Chai French Toast. Both dishes were flavorful, inventive, and fun twists on traditional diner fare... so good that we ended up swapping plates halfway through! A small heads-up: the Tikka Tots might appear under “light bites,” but the portion is delightfully generous. 😉

Loved the ambience and the concept of Indian food slightly altered for the American palate. Had very high expectations. But honestly, wasn’t pleased with the vegan/vegetarian options when Indian food has so many. The dal hummus was basically cooked dal with a few thin fulka slices in the name of rumali roti. No match for actual hummus one would savor to the last bit or to rumali roti we so love. Garlic naan or tandoori roti would’ve been so much better. The avocado toast too had much scope for customization/‘healthi’fication but was disappointed to get a very basic avocado toast comparable to dunk’s just with some green chutney for a much higher price. The chai was overly priced as well. I ended up ordering a bunch of food but didn’t feel satiated at all. Not a place for vegetarians. Bit of a loot.

Americanized Indian spot with fun fusion dishes. We liked it. The Kathi roll was great and the butter chicken pot pie was delicious. The bhel puri was the best of everything we tried. The grilled chicken mousse sandwich was okay, and the street fried noodles were okay too. Overall, good food and I’d come back when I’m craving Indian flavors with a twist.
Rithvik — Google review
Who could have thought to put Indian street food and American diner classics together? My friend and I were wandering around the area and were just too intrigued by the concept to pass it by, so we popped in for a late Sunday lunch. The restaurant definitely felt like a classic American diner, with old-fashioned booths and stools, but with an Indian twist. Our server was also super friendly and gave us a slew of recommendations, of which we eventually chose three to split: the vada pav, masala omelette, and French toast. Each item was quite tasty, but seemed to lean more heavily into the American diner cuisine versus Indian half of the fusion. The vada pav was the most classically Indian, and included a giant fried potato ball sandwiched into a slider roll. The rolls were pillowy, soft, and slightly sweet, which went wonderfully with the spiced (although not spicy) potato balls. The potatoes were hot and very soft in the center, but they had a wonderfully crunchy outer shell. It was the perfect little bite of street food before our omelette arrived; it was a pretty standard omelette, but covered with a lovely, rich curry sauce. The eggs were a smidge overcooked, but the creamy curry helped to counterbalance the slight dryness in the egg. We finished our meal with the French toast, which felt far more like classic French toast vs. the spiced version the menu promised; however, it was still plenty tasty.

Pammy's is a delightful Italian-inspired New American restaurant nestled in the heart of Cambridge, making it one of the most talked-about spots for natural wine enthusiasts in the Boston area. With its chic yet cozy ambiance, complete with a warm fireplace and elegant decor, it's an ideal venue for romantic occasions like Valentine's Day.
Pammy's prix-fixe experience ended up being the perfect choice for my small special occasion dinner with my parents, who are most familiar with Italian food when dining out but are starting to try new things. I actually can't overstate how much of a success this was for them (and therefore me) lol! We ordered 9 delicious dishes that were all thoughtfully prepared, balanced, and presented, and everyone found a new dish they were surprised by and loved. Food was the star of the show and conversation. The kitchen does great things with pasta and seafood. Space was lovely and still felt intimate despite the close and lively atmosphere - good spot for your fancy little date or special occasion. Service was considerate and friendly, too.

Pammy’s exceeded all expectations. I was seated on a plush cushion beside the glowing fireplace, where lit candles flickered inside the hearth — easily the most charming seat in the house. The space feels like an intimate, stylish living room, thoughtfully designed and deeply welcoming. The service was the best I’ve experienced all month — better than Giulia, Talulla, Scampo, nine, and Moëca. The places I just mentioned, they all have stellar service! My server Adam checked on me many times, always anticipating needs before I voiced them. Lee or Leigh at reception was also exceptionally warm and gracious. The $84 tasting menu lets you pick any three dishes, and additional items are $20 each — simple, flexible, and smart. I ordered five items total: Gem Lettuce with Sicilian pistachio and strawberry — a bright, flavorful start. De Koning Mussels — tasty, though a smaller portion. Lumache — their flagship dish since day one. I’m glad I tried it, though next time I’ll go with Adam’s recommendation: the Lasagna Bianca. Bluefish — a standout. This was the best bluefish I’ve had since the golden era of Legal Sea Foods in the 1980s. Highland Farm Venison — my favorite. Perfectly cooked and deeply satisfying. For drinks, I had two mocktails: Persephone — a complex blend of pomegranate, lime, pineapple, cinnamon, and club soda. Last Crusade — the winner of the night. Zero-proof amaro, turmeric, coconut, honey, ginger, and lemon — a sophisticated, golden drink I’d order again without hesitation. Pammy’s wins for its service, comfort, and quiet confidence. Next time, I’m going for the lasagna — and if I’m lucky, I’ll get the fireplace table again.

Atmosphere was amazing, packed on a Wednesday night. Service incredible. Food was good. Our highlights: Lumache, lasagna Bianca, bluefish, affogato for dessert. Expensive, expect to pay >$100 a person with tip and kitchen appreciation fee etc
Cami T — Google review
Very expensive for the amount of food you get. One of my dishes was spaghetti 2.3 which was underwhelming and not seasoned. Branzino was tasty, it came with a tiny piece of fennel but overall nothing special. The only impressive dish was salmon crudo. Dessert is not included, its portion is very small, and the bill also comes with a 6% kitchen fee. I wound not go back.

We absolutely love this restaurant! We’ve been going there for dinner to celebrate our anniversary for 3 years now, so it has become a tradition. It’s a fixed meal menu where you get 3 dishes per person, and I highly recommend sharing to try out as many as possible. The place itself is beautiful and has a really nice vibe. The service was also immaculate. Anyway, nothing but good things to say. Definitely worth checking out.

Often considered one of the best restaurants in Boston and per usual it stood up to it. Everything was cooked perfectly. You could nit pick dishes here and there on minor things, but it doesn't take away from a 10/10 experience. Loved some of the innovative flavor combinations and the service was excellent. Wine pairing could use some refinement, but I appreciated the adventurous choices. A couple of dishes, mainly the chicken really lacked flavor, the gochujang bolognese which is usually a 10 was a little underwhelming. Finally the short bread dessert could do without. But again, 10/10 everything was great.

OK. Get ready for great food! We loved our experience there. Great service, great vibe, fabulous food! But just a few recommendations : Have a light lunch, don’t do any munchies in the afternoon, don’t have all the great bread they bring you when you arrive. Then, if you follow these simple friendly advices, you’ll be able to eat all the fabulous 3 courses that will follow!!! Thank you Pammy’s team. We will come back to see you soon!

One of our favorite spots in Cambridge! We love the idea of choosing our own adventure yet doing a tasting menu. All the wines paired beautifully and the ambience was spectacular. Every dish was well curated and all in all, the dinner was enough food so that you weren't hungry, but you weren't grossly overfed either. Can't wait to go back!

Sandwich shop

Deli
Cuttys is a bustling breakfast and lunch spot known for its use of locally sourced, in-house ingredients. The sandwiches are substantial, featuring high-quality breads layered with generous spreads of condiments and thinly sliced meats or greens. The Beef 1000 sandwich, made with Thousand Island dressing, sharp cheddar, and crispy shallots, is particularly popular. The owners are graduates of the Culinary Institute of America and have worked for Americas Test Kitchen.
Cutty's is a great neighborhood sandwich place. Their sandwiches are made with really good quality ingredients and care. You can tell by the way that they package everything. Our favorite sandwich is their pork rabe that's offered usually on weekends. Due to the pandemic, it's not on the menu often now. So, when available, we always get it. It has a great combination of salty roasted pork, broccolini and a bit of cheese on a crispy roll. The fried chicken sandwich is very popular and is a large portion. The tomato soup is very tasty. The ham pimento sub has great flavor but too much bread to ham ratio. We have noticed that the turkey and roast beef sandwiches have gotten smaller over the past couple of years. So, one sandwich is not enough to be full. Still, it's a great sandwich shop with good food.

Came for their Super Cluckin Sunday honey mustard chicken sandwich. It was really tasty and tender. The edges of the bun were buttery and perfect. The sauce was a bit too sweet for me and a wish it was a tad crispier.
Alexander — Google review
There is a process for ordering foods online before you come to pick it up. They have a specific window time for ordering as they sell Super Clucking Sunday burgers that sell only one time a month. Fresh food and great customer service, but it is not a wow for burgers.
Trang L — Google review
Excellent sandwiches! A grab and go place, Cuttys has really perfected their small menu as well as their rotating specials! The TLC had an amazing bread, with perfect ratios to turkey and cheese, and the spicy sauce perfectly wraps it up! It’s definitely a beautiful mess, which was ready so quickly too, overall a definite recommendation!

Quite possibly the best Turkey sandwich I have ever had. The Turkey 1000 with lettuce mayo and hots. So good! The Fox Farm chips are really good as well. Everything I have tried there is very fresh and delicious. Not the cheapest option but always leave a happy customer
Andrew H — Google review
Super Cluckin' Sunday occurs once a month and requires you to pre-order a week in advance. The fried chicken sandwich of the month alternates between BBQ Ranch and OG Honey Mustard, and you can see the schedule on Cutty's website. I tried the OG Honey Mustard. I wasn't able to eat it until an hour later, but the chicken was still crispy and tasted fine re-toasted. The sesame brioche bun was soft and airy. The chicken was lightly peppered/seasoned and moist. The slaw and honey mustard sauce added a complementary sweetness. There was also Cabot sharp cheddar cheese, but I couldn’t really taste it. I don't think the amazingness of this sandwich amounts to the hype of being a once-a-month special, and $13.99 is a bit expensive. However, it was a delicious sandwich overall, and I would get it again.

Went to get breakfast with friends at a place nearby but they were very busy. Needed something quick so we decided to try Cutty’s down the road. I got the Beef 1000 with pickled hots and it’s the best sandwich I’ve had in a while! Loaded with beef and the picked hots was very good! Not too greasy and worth the price. Very friendly staff and quick to make food for to go. Highly recommend Cutty’s!

So very delicious! There were so many good options to choose from. Went there with the family and got three different sandwiches. All three were so very delicious. The beef and cheese special we had was delicious, especially with bacon and chopped peppers. 😋😋😋

Located in the charming town of Charlestown, MA, Monument Charlestown Restaurant & Tavern offers a diverse menu featuring wood-fired pizzas, ramen, poke bowls, and grilled pork chops for takeout and delivery. The gastropub boasts a comfortable setting with brick and weathered woods, complemented by an expansive bar area and open wood burning stove for crafting fresh thin-crust pizzas. Guests can also enjoy fun cocktails and weekly specials such as $1 oysters and specialty tacos.
Spur of the moment choice for brunch, so glad we landed here. The house Bloody Mary’s were just what we needed to get started, paired with the Chicken Enchilada Dip and tajin spiced tortilla chips. Absolutely delicious! Our entrees were the Fried Chicken Biscuit and Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Both equally tasty. Our server, Frankie D was wonderful! Overall, all the boxes were checked. Great food, drinks, service, and a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Classic brunch spot, not particularly remarkable but I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid brunch option. The French toast and breakfast pizzas were both tasty but the breakfast burrito felt a little lacking (a little dry/boring?). Service was surprisingly slow given we did not go during a particularly busy period. Plenty of street parking in the area on a weekend morning.

Stopped in the Monument Restaurant for a quick bite and drinks. Late lunch/snack is a limited menu from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Decent menu with apps and piz Rustic, open roomy tavern. Greeted by the hostess. Friendly and professional. Seated at a spacious comfy booth for six with plenty of elbow room. Excellent waitress, Cassidy, friendly, courteous, attentive and professional. Ordered the apps, wood fire roasted chicken wings, chunky guacamole and chicken enchilada dip. The chips were the best! Fresh and tasty. Spicy sausage and pepperoni pizzas. All were absolutely delicious, fresh and prepared perfectly. Highly recommend. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

The staff, and ambiance was wonderful. The food was absolutely amazing. We were visiting from New York when we found this place, and it did not disappoint. We got the sourdough garlic knots, steak tips, and gnocchi bolognese. It was perfect. Kudos to everyone who helped to prepare and make all of this delicious food. We will definitely be trying when we come back to Boston.

We loved both of our dishes both times we have gone so far. Great restaurant with great staff and a dog friendly patio. Will definitely be making this a regular spot for us. It was very nice of the server to even bring our pup a bowl of water.

Had an awesome meal at Monument in Charlestown! We tried a little bit of everything — the pepperoni pizza, steak and cheese sandwich, french toast, smashburger, sweet potato crunchwrap supreme, and the garlic bread bruschetta — and it was all absolutely delicious. Great craft beers to go along with it too. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. They were out of the birria tacos this time, but that just gives us a reason to come back (and we definitely will). Highly recommend!

Ordered for takeout and it was delicious. Only reason for 4 stars is because the steak tips side (for $16) only had 3 pieces. They were delicious, though!

Sumiao Hunan Kitchen is a renowned restaurant in Boston, located near Kendall Square. Founded by Sumiao Chen, it offers an upscale dining experience with a modern art-filled room and Asian-inspired cocktails. The menu features traditional Hunanese recipes with bold flavors and fiery spices, showcasing high-quality ingredients in dishes like Five-Spiced Braised Beef, Nom Numb Wings, and Spicy Twin Lobsters.
The food here was excellent, all of the dishes had great texture. The steamed egg tofu dish was very smooth, and the spice and sweetness paired very well together. However, I think I would have personally preferred it to not be spicy. All of the dishes were flavored very well! I definitely recommend the steamed eggs and spicy cucumber appetizer. For dessert, I had the chocolate fudge, which was super yummy 🥰🥰
Liya B — Google review
Absolutely delicious - my only regret was we got a bit scared off by some of the reviews around spiciness and opted for mild - this was a mistake. Added some hot sauce to the leftovers at home and it made something already quite delicious even better. Go for the spice! We enjoyed the scallion pancakes, pork bao, string beans and eggplant, sausage and potatoes in black bean sauce (an unexpected favorite), steak tips with crispy yams, and the house fried rice. Vincent our server was super attentive, friendly and informative. An all around wonderful experience and very family-friendly to boot. Will be back for sure.
Leslie M — Google review
the meat dishes are really good but missing that garlic flavor, the presentation is on point though. for the veggies, we got the watercress dish and it was all stem and less leaves so it was actually quite bitter and the garlic flavor just wasn’t there. the drinks are good though and the atmosphere was great!
Grace Z — Google review
A little disappointed with the food than expected. The okra was pretty good for a cold appetizer. The chefs special tofu with chive was very disappointing. It had lacked flavor for being a Hunan dish. Wouldn’t recommend that. My husband did say the Beef on Fire was decent. For the price the food wasn’t worth it. The interiors are good and their location is very prime for easy access.
Enakshi C — Google review
An exquisite Hunan Chinese spot that I would recommend to if you’re looking for an upscaled restaurant to drink or dine. Ambience and Service is wonderful and the servings are proportionate to their prices as well. Out of all 4 dishes I would rate the Red Braised Pork Belly on top, sufficient for 3-4 people. Coming in 2nd is the Nom-Numb wings with its hot and fiery taste(please get one) and if you like it, come back and like my review(I’m sure you will). Yellow River Beef brings an interesting combination of mushroom and beef and the Lava Fish will be the most healthy and lean part of our entire selection of dish if you’re looking for something very subtle and rich in protein.
Swapnil M — Google review
We’ve been going to Sumiao since it opened. The food is exceptional authentic Hunan fare. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, nice decor, lovely dishes and it is impeccably clean and kept up. Last night we had Adam a new server. He was great. Attentive and knew the menu well.
Brenda P — Google review
The medium hot not spicy enough for authentic Hunan cuisine. Very good control of the ingredients and flavors. It’s very salty in general.
Yuwei F — Google review
There’s nothing average about this restaurant from the attentive staff to the authenticity of the Hunan dishes, Every moment got better and better. All the items recommended by the staff were on point. The Yellow River Beef, A strange name but a must-try. The spicy crunchy cucumber- Just as expected. Wok’d fried rice could have used a little more seasoning. Grandma’s pork was exceptional. The Mala duck was a favorite. The chili chicken was good. Johnny the bartender kept us entertained And hydrated with strange and unique cocktailsand as expected we stayed too long! We were introduced to Ernest the manager and Shao, the owner. They could not have been more friendly and hospitable. Next time I go, no doubt I will order the whole prepared duck and the lobster with ginger and scallions.

Crave Chinatown is a delicious asian restaurant that serves up delicious food in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to indulge in some delicious Asian flavors, and the great staff makes it even more enjoyable.
Asian spot in downtown Boston that's known for its fried chicken. It was near my hotel and my daughter eats here often so I had to try it. The fried chicken is as good as advertised and the Asian cuisine is also very good. This was my first time having Buffalo drumsticks but I don't want it to be my last.

Get the hotate hokkaiyaki! Get the hotate hokkaiyaki! Get the hotate hokkaiyaki! It’s sooooo good!!! You won’t regret it! I also got the angry spicy garlic boneless fried chicken, and it was mehhh. Nothing outstanding. It probably would taste better as wings or drumsticks. Don’t get boneless like I did. Also ordered the rabokki, and it was hugeeee! Very good too! I recommend getting that and splitting it with at least two people because the portion was a lot
Brandy H — Google review
Pros: Flavorful food. This is comparable to the Korean chicken I had in Korea, which I missed so much since leaving. The wings were crispy and just the right sweetness. The deotbokki was sweet and cooked in the perfect texture. I have too often had the rice cakes overcooked or undercooked at a Korean restaurant, but this place has it spot on. This is a great choice for those who haven't had Korean and would like to try. I guarantee you'll find something you like here. Cons: This is not really a con, but if do not know this, you will regret not knowing before going: Order the wings first as you browse through the menu. It takes them a while to prepare them as they batter and fry them fresh in the kitchen. As soon as they come out, they are hot and delicious while you wait for your other food. Be careful not to burn yourself!
Jenzi L — Google review
We went to Crave on Sunday around 5 pm. It was not busy as we were early before the standard dinner time. We ordered 3 dishes; Korean fried chicken, spicy pork bulgogi, and topkoki. On drinks, we ordered hot sake. It was enough for two people. The food was good, and the portions were generous. We didn't even touch the spicy pork bulgogi as we were full, so we had to bring it home! I would definitely revisit this place and explore more of its menu! Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would highly recommend it!
Jeena G — Google review
I would say this is easily the best lounge / bar in the area. With lots of great food and atmosphere. Perfect for dates, group, or drinks with your co-workers. Their chicken wings are amazing and unique but I feel like I am not doing the restaurant justice if I only write about that which they are known for. Whenever I come here, I always HAVE to get the tuna dumplings (they also have salmon version too!) and they have a number of dishes that I like that I rotate depending on my mood. Their truffle fries are good (i like the side of sauce they provide). I usually also order their kimchi fried rice. They also have a variety of salads that I like, one in which includes "The Amazing Salmon Salad" and "Spicy Crab Avocado Salad" are among my favorites.
Raymond L — Google review
Definitely well known for their fried chicken! I love getting their soy garlic and spicy fried chicken. I also love their truffle Parmesan French fries. I try their other entrees and appetizers and they’re all solid. Can’t really go wrong with anything from their menu here.
C — Google review
The chicken here has a nice and crispy coating while still being incredibly tender! It’s very tasty. They also have A LOT of other choices. It can be a little overwhelming. The service is good enough, had to ask twice for my beer. But the beer is on draft from another country and it was very good and fun to try.
David ( — Google review
I had time to kill before my tutoring session, about three hours, and this place helped me achieve that very end. Firstly, I should say that I recommend getting one of the Japanese beers on draught. As far as the drinks menu is concerned, it will give you the best value and the beers are quite good. Otherwise, you end up paying just as much for a can of boring domestic beer. I arrived early enough to get the lunch specials and chose to get the Dolsot Bibimbap for old time sake. It's the best egg I've ever seen on top, fully-cooked and well-textured. It was the hottest rice bowl I've ever seen, and with the right amount of gochujang inside and outside the bowl, the heat let me heat slower than usual, taking sips between bites hot enough to finish off the polar ice caps. The service was good. Of course, it wasn't exactly primetime for the waitstaff with just two-three sets of customers in there. If not for the fact that there are so many good restaurants around there, I am liable to come back and try the fried chicken and other dishes, including Sushi.

Gustazo Cuban Kitchen & Bar in Cambridge is a vibrant spot that offers modern Cuban cuisine to locals. The restaurant boasts an upbeat atmosphere, attentive service, and reasonable prices, making it perfect for both casual weeknight meals and weekend gatherings. The beverage program features classic cocktails alongside unique creations like the Westerly Wind. The restaurant's decor reflects the spirit of 1950s Havana with stunning Cuban modern art and ornate Spanish colonial architecture, creating an immersive dining experience.
I've never once left a review at a restaurant, but went here last night and was blown away. 10/10 Fancy, gourmet, delicious. Incredible. And not that expensive either, given how unique and special each dish felt like. We didn't order any of the entrees, we just ordered lots of Tapas for the table, and that's probably what I would do again. Each one was exquisite and unique. They're decent sized, I think we shared 6 tapas for 3 people and was a pretty great mix (they did offer to make some of the tapas 3 items instead of 2 for easier sharing, not sure if they charged extra for that but I wouldn't have minded). 10/10 Go here. Or don't, because I want to get a table.
Christopher O — Google review
Think of it as the Cuban cousin of Barcelona Wine Bar. All the basics done right, nothing bad, but nothing outstanding. Visited for dinner this past weekend. Some of my friends raved about this place as one of the best Cuban restaurants they’d ever tried, and the restaurant seemed really popular among the locals. The spacious two-floor restaurant filled up quickly, reaching near capacity within the first hour of opening. Maybe my expectations were skewed by the hype, but while the experience was good overall, there weren’t a lot of dishes we enjoyed. Favorite: Ropa Vieja Solid: Ceviche Decent: Chicharrones, Lamb Chops, Baby Back Ribs, Key Lime Pie Ceviche was a solid start to the evening. While the chunks of fish were a bit too large and awkwardly shaped (affecting the overall texture), the citrusy broth, avocado puree, and a subtle tingle of chili worked nicely with the plantain chips. From the small plates, the Chicharrones and Costillas a la Guayaba were decent but underwhelming. The pork belly and ribs were both on the drier side. The Lamb Chops were the most satisfying among the meats, elevated by a creamy, umami-rich hazelnut and almond romesco. Unfortunately, the Roasted Cauliflowers were a tad disappointing. The thick Manchego cheese sauce was overly dominant, which overshadowed other toppings. The highlight of the evening was the Ropa Vieja. It did take almost half an hour to come out, but it was worth the wait. The tender shredded flank steak, stewed in a rich tomato and pepper sauce, paired perfectly with the side of rice and black beans. Dessert was a Pie de Limon served in a cup—visually appealing but flawed in execution. The crust was stuck at the bottom, making it impossible to scoop until the very end. I ended up eating most of the sweet key lime cream on its own, which was a bit too sweet without the crust. If you’re craving Cuban flavors in a lively setting, it’s worth a visit, but I’m not sure if I’ll be back.

Went to Gustazo with a group of people a few months ago and returned recently with my partner and a friend. We really enjoyed our experiences both times! My one comment is that Gustazo seems to like to maximise tables and only have parties of four to a four person table, parties of two to a two person… etc. We were sat at a table that I would say is for two people so it felt a little cramped. Even though they did bring out the dishes one at a time, it felt a bit rushed to finish one so they could clear the plate to make room for the next. However, the food was excellent as were the drinks. (One other note is that we were sat at a table near the closed egress doors and there was a draft which was fairly uncomfortable since the temperature was low). Everything was delicious but the standout dishes would have to be the cauliflower and their key lime pie!
Palmer B — Google review
The food, atmosphere and customer service is top tier. It was worth every penny. The food feels like your abuela is in the back cooking with love. The presentation is chic and luxurious. It feels like you were transported to Cuba. You greeted as soon as you walk in and the waitress and waiters go above and beyond to make sure you’re okay. This has to be on my top 5 places to eat in Cambridge. I wish I knew about this place before I graduate. I will be back. The ropa vieja is so good. It’s a traditional dish.

Tapas style Cuban restaurant with delicious food, service, and cocktails! Everything we had here was delicious and shareable. There are some main entrees that we did not try but also looked good. Standout to me were the mussels which is made in a delicious tomato and chorizo sauce. The shrimp is equally delicious, as well as the mushroom croquettas, ribs, and fried rice! So good I came back the next day for more and it did not disappoint! S/o to our favorite bar tender Christian!!

Just phenomenal. The yucca fries changed my life. Don’t sleep on the chicharrones, fall apart delectable pork belly with the most satisfying, creamy avocado puree. I’ve been here twice and the vibe is always super lively - perfect atmosphere for everything from a festive gathering/celebration to a chill Friday night dinner. Loved the drinks too. Just bring a party and come here!

Every dish we ordered was excellent! The scallops were exceptional and the dessert was very creative and tasty! The place was slightly crowded and loud, especially in the basement, but the waitress let us move to a quieter spot. Overall a great experience!

Gustazo is one of my fav restaurants when it comes to intimate dining with a small group. The menu is tasty and the mixed drink selection is inventive! Wait staff is friendly and helpful. The experience would be better if the food serving would be more spaced out and thoughtful. Instead they brought everything at once which made us feel rushed.

Trina's Starlite Lounge is a hip and retro spot in Somerville, just north of Boston, offering American comfort food and unique cocktails. The ambiance is effortlessly cool with dim lighting, vintage decor, and a touch of kitsch. This dive bar serves up southern-inspired comfort food like chicken & waffles and cornbread alongside thoughtful cocktails such as the Shaddock and Green Goblin. On Sundays and Mondays, they offer an affordable brunch featuring specialty sandwiches and large plates.
Perfect food, staff, drinks, atmosphere, vibe- perfect everything. One of the rare places in Boston where you feel fully comfortable and like you can enjoy yourself. That they now offer a HOT DOG TOWER truly raises them above 5/5 stars. Their staff is always so kind and easy to talk with- highly recommend!

Amazing food. It looks like a place you scurry by quickly on the road, but once you’re inside it is a whole new experience. We had the corn dog, tater tots, Mac & Cheese, and corn bread and they were great. Food brought past us to other tables (hot dog tower, sloppy joes) smelled just as good.

I’ve been here several times and I always enjoy myself. My personal favorites are the Starlite-Style Dog, Fried Chicken, and the Rockin’ Chair cocktail served cold. If you do have a choice on seating and it’s not boiling or freezing outside, the patio/outdoor seating is the place to be. Came back for brunch and it was delicious. Would recommend the blueberry and cheesecake pop-tart!

All the food was good, had the fried chicken and it was delicious. Great selection of specialty hot dogs. Sidebar is a cozy tavern in the Fenway area that offers a relaxed sports bar atmosphere with arcade games, TVs, and classic pub food like burgers and pizza. The quirky decor adds to the unique experience, featuring unusual finger sandwiches, antique tableware, gaudy chandeliers, and French country wallpaper. It's known as a neighborhood spot in DTX with two bars, arcade games, a jukebox, and plenty of screens for hockey fans to catch the game.
Average good bar food. Very good environment to watch a game. Cheap drinks. Never too busy. Good service, but they do not come to your table. Overall, it’s a solid bar that I have no complaints about.

Great place to watch the Lions game! Food beverage and service were all on point! Will definitely be back

This is a great neighborhood bar. While we didn't eat, we saw quite a few plates pass by and were very impressed. The drinks were great and the staff very friendly. Perfect spot to watch sports and especially the Detroit Lions as they have Lions watch parties for every game!

Perfect place to duck into for a few beers and nachos during an afternoon in Boston. Very chill, basic food, and good service. Basement bathrooms are about what you’d expect, but there is a whole second barroom which looked really nice, just not open in the afternoon.

I probably visited 6 bars on my vacation to Boston, and this was by far my favorite. The people who work and drink there are so friendly and welcoming. You all made us feel like we were at home. Food and drink ordering system has a few flaws, seems like they operate differently depending on the night. Sometimes you get table service for drinks, sometimes you pick it up at the bar yourself. I got the Chili cheese dogs which were absolutely killer. We came back again before leaving and I got the boneless wings. Very good food. Great prices here on everything too. Glad my Airbnb was only a 5 minute walk. You all are excellent and I will be back next time I’m in Boston!

We popped in for a quick beer while visiting Boston. While there were two seats empty at the bar we were told we couldn’t sit there because one of the employees was sitting there. We ordered two draft beers and paid $18. I guess you have to be a man to get good service because the girl bartender was less than friendly. We love a good dive bar, but we won’t be coming back to this one.

Really fun casual sports bar. They have a decent selection of beers and a well stocked bar. There are plenty of screens, so you'll always have a good view of whatever match is on. Staff were really friendly, and it was obvious they took their jobs very seriously, constantly rushing around delivering drinks, wiping down tables, etc. $3 for a pint of bud is a massive draw. It was their sign advertising this that led me to the place. They also do pitchers, which seemed popular. Toilets were also cleaner than I usually expect from a sports bar. I didn't order any food, but it looked really good and was served until pretty late.

Men's bathroom is pretty gross and benches in the booths are rather uncomfortable. Wings were decent but breaded, which is not my preference.

Scorpion Bar Boston is a trendy and lively spot that offers a unique take on Mexican cuisine along with handcrafted cocktails and DJ nights. The restaurant has recently opened its patio for guests to savor their Mexican-inspired menu in an outdoor setting. The patio menu features a variety of dishes such as Oysters with Habanero Mignonette, Tacos, and Mexican Pizza, complemented by refreshing drinks like Fiesta Punch and Margarita Pitchers.
First time here and it was very relaxing. I was ordering drinks and food for myself and my friend from 5:30 PM (start of my reservation time). Till 8PM when we finally finished. $20 all you can eat tacos on Tuesdays. Staff was very nice and brought everything we needed and asked for. Had the steak, chicken and fish Tacos and it was good.

We went to the nightclub. It was super fun. 🤩 $30 per person to get in and security made sure to escort any drunk patrons out. The experience made us all feel young and 21 again.

I came for a watch party and ordered what I thought would be nachos but were really just some stale chips with sides. Several people at the bar that I didn’t know were also surprised at the “nachos” that I received. I even double checked with the bartender to confirm it was nachos. I also went back to look at the menu in case it was labeled as chips and dip but it wasn’t. I will say the bartender was nice and my friend ordered a cheese pizza and that was decent. The watch party was very crowded but the energy in the room was fun. Update your menu and remove the word nachos please lol.

This is my only bad review which should speak for itself. Do not come here for the Love Island Watch party or at all. Overcharged me by $100, pretended to act clueless when I asked for clarification. Talked to the manager who took the incorrect charge off but then the security guards refused to give me my credit card until "left a tip". I left the bare minimum and left, but being intimidated by security guards during a LOVE ISLAND WATCH PARTY was not it. They also never brought us water, condiments, or utensils? Seriously don't come here if you are a girl they just want your money. It’s now been a few days later and they charged my card the incorrect amount. I am going through my bank to report them for fraud. Overall, this was such a hassle and we had so much more fun watching Love Island at our apartment with takeout. DO NOT COME HERE.

Good food, drinks and overall atmosphere. The nachos are massive and need a minimum of at least 2 people if you want to get close to finishing it at all. Loved the Mexican Mule. The wings were good but the BBQ sauce needs some work. Overall great experience. I will come again

You won’t be disappointed. The places is aesthetically pleasing as well(go get your cute pictures for insta😂. Also Their Burritos are MASSIVE LIKE your not going to finish it.definitely coming back!

Good atmosphere and service. It was a party of 9 people for a colleague's farewell. Not many vegetarian options for main course though.. ordered 3 pitchers of Margaritas and all were awesome! Great and young atmosphere with cool vibes!

My Fuego drink was great ! I had 3 tacos around $6/$7 each a little overpriced but it was wicked good! The bartender/server was super attentive and nice! The bouncers were in black suits giving me fancy vibes and I was there for it ahah. Tippers in bathrooms fyi. The decor is 10/10 I would design my place like this if I could 😭 Only one bad thing which had nothing to do with the restaurant. Extremely arrogant and pompous guy with his friend kept bumping into us, super rude. Idk if these type of people frequent there but only rude person I encountered.

The lively and welcoming atmosphere sets the mood for unwinding and enjoying classic drinks, craft beers, and bar food while catching sports on TV. The menu offers an impressive selection of dishes, with notable highlights like their amazing Nachos and impressive Guacamole.
We had the best experience here!!! The staff is so friendly and polite. Our waitress Bruna was such a delight 😊 The food came out quick and hot! -Fired Pickles were breaded perfectly. -Chicken Bacon Sandwich was cooked just right and the bacon had that great crunch factor. The French fries were crispy and flavorful. -Rodeo Burger was sooo good with a little bit of a kick! The mac n cheese is so cheesey that it tastes homemade.
Kayla B — Google review
Food was overpriced and mediocre. I ordered takeout. The truffle fries smelled and looked good but there was barely a dusting of parmesan and only the memory of truffle for the taste. The French onion soup had NO cheese and the onion flavor was far too subdued. I had to add my own cheese. For $16 it was NOT worth it for the price. The service was good but would not recommend the food.
Julia G — Google review
Great location and setup, really. I just wish the food was better. Quesadilia and fries seem to be the only menu item that are consistently decent, burgers are hit or miss. Ordered a steak sandwich today....would definitely not recommend it. Super overcooked, roll was hard, and the cheese was basically burnt...took two bites and left the rest. Drinks are usually good though!

Great restaurant and sports bar. Great service great waitstaff and bartenders the food is decent served hot good taste. It was my 1st time ordering their Beef Stew it was good like really good. The restaurant is clean but they must do a better job with the upkeep of the restrooms.

Where to begin.. we walk in and ask which TVs a certain game was on. We were then sat at the bar to later find out the other bar had the games audio. Not a single employee looked or felt like they liked begin there, all were miserable. On multiple occasions the bartenders sat on the cooler and faced us while on the phones - no words for this, so unprofessional. After ordering drinks we asked some questions about items on the menu and kept getting “everything is good” on the menu.. when in fact it’s not. I ordered the chicken sandwich buffalo style with truffle fries.. the fries were the best part. Considering the bartender said this was his go to.. I question the rest of the menu. At no point were we asked how our food was, if we needed anything else, how we were with drinks and we were again SITTING AT THE BAR. The bar was not full either so no excuse - and I am a bartender. If you want shitty service and to maybe catch a game you’re looking to watch feel free to stop in, otherwise avoid at all costs.

Skampa is a popular eatery in Cambridge, Massachusetts that offers a variety of delicious dishes. The roast beef dinner features thinly sliced, rare and tender meat served with a fresh roll, fries, and onion rings. Customers appreciate the generous portions and reasonable prices. The seafood combo and haddock dinner are also highly recommended. In addition to subs, the restaurant serves beautiful salads like 'The Greek with a Twist.' While some have noted variability in the quality of the beef, overall it's considered satisfying.
Nice large helping of pasta for only $12. I ordered Alfredo with chicken and broccoli and the guy explained what they have isn't Alfredo from cream but but from oil and I said SEND IT. Foods delicious, feels original like there's some old Italian grandma in back whippin it up. Id recommend

Tried the North Shore Beef sandwich at this Cambridge location as someone who's familiar with the original North Shore versions. While it's a decent option if you're craving this style of sandwich and can't make it to the coast, it doesn't quite capture the authentic experience. The flavors are there, but something about the execution - whether it's the bread, the seasoning, or the overall preparation - falls short of what you'd get at the original spots. It's serviceable if you're in the area and have the craving, but manages to be just okay rather than memorable.

I tried the grilled chicken heaven wrap. It was delicious. Very cozy atmosphere. Warm and inviting. Prices were great. I would definitely return here any if I was in the area. Good stuff. Thank you Skampa. 5 stars.

We loved this place conveniently located, good food. The amount of food for the price was very good. I would go back. I got the seafood combo it was delicious. The second time I had the haddock dinner also great. All their dinners come with fries and onion rings so it's a plate that 2 people can share. The only thing that I didn't like was the inside tables were rarely clean you have to ask.

I had a beautiful colorful salad - yes it was beautiful with all the goodies - in Cambridge, Massachusetts at Skampa. It was called: The Greek with a Twist! Not only do they serve delicious subs but also salads. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Meh, the meat came undercooked and chewy. I ended up throwing more than half. No special sauce for meat, greasy fries (humongous portion), too salty. Maybe just a temporal hiccup but I would not say they have a good roast beef sandwich even if all of the above was better.

Skampa is one of the best roast beef and sub shops I’ve ever been to. The food is amazing and consistent (something that is very important in a restaurant) and the prices are very cheap. Plentiful servings make for a great lunch or dinner; I would recommend their roast beef dinner, all of this was only $8.50. Definitely check them out!

Thai restaurant
Restaurant
Mahaniyom is a cozy spot in Brookline Village that offers a unique experience with its craft cocktails and Thai sharing plates. The restaurant stands out for its bar program, which features cocktails incorporating Thai ingredients into classic recipes. Owners Chompon Boonnak and Smuch Saikamthorn have brought authentic Thai dishes like rambutan salad and coconut-milk crab curry to Boston, focusing on shareable small plates with bold flavors.
TLDR: amazing food (get the beef massaman!!) and mocktails, lovely service, great music, friendly clientele — wish we could come here more often! More detailed version: Food: the food is delicious omg. The lamb chop special rocked, as did the larb and the pomelo salad, but the beef massaman made me want to live in that restaurant forever. Spicy and sweet and amazing in a way I can’t describe. We wouldn’t have ordered it, but the man sitting next to us at the bar recommended it (he gets it every time he goes), and he didn’t steer us wrong. Mocktails: they don’t have a mocktail menu, but the lovely bartender (Andrew) asked us what flavors we liked and then delivered drinks that were perfect and that complemented the food. Andrew is a gem. Atmosphere: the staff, music, decor, and other clientele just make this a lovely place to have dinner and relax. Love the food, the vibes, and everything. Recommend reservations.

Went for the second night in a row for dinner. Food is great (10/10); service is friendly; great place for dates, group dinners, and dates. We had the beef massaman, crab curry, and chive cakes with mocktails (special request to the accommodating bartender Andrew), Thai iced coffee, and sticky rice dessert. The massaman is our favorite (perfect combo of savory and sweet--please don't ever take this off the menu!!) and is enough for a full meal, and we wanted to try more on the menu. We weren't disappointed. Everything we've tried has been a hit. You won't be disappointed by anything on the menu. The staff are friendly and remembered us from the previous night. Pamika remembered where we sat; Andrew remembered our names. We felt welcomed and well fed. This is our new favorite Boston restaurant.

Wish I can eat the crab curry everyday. The crispy pork belly was also excellent. My complaint is the serving size and the price. Had to spend almost $90 just to feed two people. No drinks or dessert or apps.
M L — Google review
It’s expensive but good. I loved the attention to detail with the dishes, for example the lemonade had a beautiful purple and yellow gradient and the crab rice cakes were delicately garnished. As for the main dishes, I loved that they were decently spicy. The fried chicken was the star for me personally though, I don’t think I have had chicken skin so crisp but the meat so tender, at least the way it was cooked. The beef curry is very savory and the veggies aromatic. Great experience although prepare for it to be bush and tight!
Abe W — Google review
I went for a friend’s birthday without reservation and, luckily, they got us seating by the bar as the restaurant was full. The service was very fast, they worked around allergies pretty well, and all dishes felt like they were made for sharing so we did. By the end, they offered us to go boxes free of cost (a true miracle these days). I highly recommend you to reserve a table if you come with more than 3 people, because seating is limited but don’t let it be an obstacle between you and this amazing food!!!
Aisha P — Google review
It’s better to come as a group so that you can try more things since the dishes are on the pricier side (but not too big of a group since the seating is also tight). Everything that I tried was very flavorful, although a bit salty for my preference. - Fried Chive Cakes ($11): Crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. I wish the sauce were spicy, but I liked this appetizer. - Beef Massaman Curry: The curry was delicious, and the roti was soft. I wanted to bring some of the curry home to eat with rice but forgot the container (sorry!!). - Beef Penang ($20): My favorite of the things I ordered. The beef was super tender, and the sauce was just right when eaten with rice. - Pad Thai ($23): I appreciated that this wasn’t overly sweet, which is a typical downfall of this dish, but this was my least favorite because the taste wasn’t very special. The shrimp was very plump, though. Reminded me of ginger scallion lobster at Chinese restaurants. I think I prefer the sister restaurant, Merai, but this was still a solid lunch.

We went a couple years ago and loved it, so we were excited to go back again. We made a reservation since we know the place is small. We were pretty disappointed, to be honest. I’m not sure we’ll come back again. The food and drinks were just okay (more details below), the restaurant AC had a hard time keeping up with the heat and the very tight seating, and the service was fine but not anything great. For food, we got the pomelo salad, razor clams, pig cheek, crab fried rice, fried chicken, and then their sticky rice dessert. The pomelo salad was the best - nice textures, some nice spice, delicious ingredients. It was the first dish to hit the table and we were excited to get more. But then everything else was sort of sad. The fried chicken was crispy but not really what I expect for fried chicken (was barely breaded). The razor clams were a bit gritty (but the flavor was nice). The pork cheek tasted a lot more like pork belly, and maybe that’s an unfair assumption, but it overall lacked flavor and was really chewy. The crab fried rice was really lackluster too. It needed way more seasoning and more crab. The dessert was tasty at least. The table next to us actually asked for more salt and seasoning for their food. I didn’t notice what they had, but that doesn’t seem like a great sign to me. The cocktails were just okay. My partner and I each had two, and we didn’t even really like one drink each. We love pandan but the flavoring was so strong that it was off-putting. If they are using a pandan essence, they can use less of it. There was nothing that wowed us about the other cocktails we each had. I don’t mind an intimate restaurant setting with really tight tables, truly, but the real candles on the table are scary when you’re trying to slide through tables to get up. And it’s not their fault the weather is gross and hot, but the restaurant felt really uncomfortable to sit in. We were all sweating. Last, the service. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. No explanation of anything, no recommendations, no description of food when it hits the table. They did check in on us, cleared the table, made sure we had water, and didn’t let our cocktail glasses sit empty. But for what we knew we were going to spend on the meal, I wanted a little more. Overall, I’m sad it wasn’t as good as I remembered. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. Maybe the server being more interactive and helping us build out choices better would’ve helped. Maybe they are having an off day. But for the price we pay, I don’t know I’ll give them another try and risk a similar experience.

Mahaniyom is a Thai Tapas place, well known in the Boston area located right outside of the Longwood area and in the heart of Brookline. The staff are quite friendly in this location, seating us nearly instantly and making sure things such as drinks are taken care of, food is brought out in a timely manner, and ensuring the night was enjoyable. It is a bit crowded and loud in the place, though it could just be our seating we were in. We got a wide range of dishes to try, such as the Khao Tang Na Tung, Salted pepper Pork Cheek with Sticky Rice, Kang Puu (Crab Curry), and the BBQ & Crispy Pork Rice, before ending with Lod Chong for dessert. The Khao Tang Na Tung was quite good, with a nice chili coconut sauce on it. The toppings blended together nicely, though it was kind of messy to eat. The Salted Pepper Pork Cheek was on the spicier side, with the salt and pepper packing a punch but not too overwhelming. With the Sticky rice, it was quite good and went really well with it. The BBQ & Crispy Pork Rice wasn't too special in our opinion, as it felt very average, and almost tasted similar to Char Siu sauce and like a Siu Yuk. The dish did well to satisfy though, and came with a dipping sauce similar to what we believe is Tamarind. The highlight of the night was the Kang Puu, The crab curry. It was very distinct, with vermicelli noodles and bean sprouts served on the side, and coconut smell. The coconut smell was a bit overwhelming, but the curry was quite good, not too spicy and not oily at all. The vermicelli went well with it, but I think that the sticky rice paired with it just as well. We also tried the Lod Chong, which was like a pandan coconut dessert with jelly on the inside. It was a bit of a disappointment due to the size and also it didn't really taste like much, but we were already stuffed by the end of it. Overall, a wonderful experience and definitely would go back.

Woody's Grill & Tap is a hidden gem located on a quiet side street near the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. This unassuming spot offers wood-fired pizzas at great prices, with a 10-inch cheese pizza costing just $10.95. The menu also features a variety of American items such as salads and wings, which are highly praised by visitors.
We were looking for a ‘pizza place’.. Woody’s delivered on that!! The crust on their pizza is thin and crispy. The barbecue chicken pizza was very tasty!! The wings were not super meaty but they were tasty. The Brussel sprouts were good..with a little feta crumble, they would have been even better balanced. Amazing service! Our server treated us so well and was attended to with enthusiasm and care. The atmosphere is quaint.. a bit dated. Over all, I am glad we stepped into Woody’s your Pizza 😁.

Found this GEM ahead of a Boston Symphony concert. Had the Greek salad (fresh delicious greens, etc but the dressing wasn’t my favorite. Should have opted for a balsamic vinaigrette). The Coast Cafe, a small family-owned joint located just outside Central Square in Cambridge, has been serving up delicious soul food for 18 years. The menu features classic Southern dishes like perfectly seasoned fried chicken, smoked barbecue pork ribs, mac n cheese, and sweet potato pie. The cozy eatery is known for its delectable home-cooked meals made with love and care.
I wanted CRISPY fried chicken and bot tenders. This place delivers. I loved seeing the giant pot of collard greens ! And the Mac and cheese is so thick I needed strength to pry it open ! So cheap so fresh so good

This is a solid soul food restaurant! Their fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and vanilla cake are very good. The collard greens and cornbread are ok. Small restaurant dining room so probably best to take out.

I was looking forward to trying this place based on the reviews, but the food didn’t live up to my expectations. The chicken was over fried and lacked flavor, and it tasted like the oil may have been old. The mac and cheese was also on the dry side, collard greens were good, and best part of the plate was their cornbread. . Overall I give my plate 7/10..
Melissa L — Google review
Solid spot for Soul food/Fried chicken cravings. First heard about this spot a year ago from my friends dubbing it the best soul food restaurant in the GBA. With limited opening hours, it took me some time to finally make it here, but this week, I managed to visit for lunch The restaurant was quite small, with just seven seats squeezed into its modest space. Most people seemed to know the drill, grabbing their orders to go, but with a menu learning heavily on fried options, we decided to dine in while everything was still hot and crispy. We opted for the Fried Chicken Thighs and Fried Catfish combo plates, and both delivered on flavor. The chicken thighs were our favorite—perfectly seasoned, not overly greasy, and juicy. The catfish was also nice with its tender and flaky meat. However, the portions felt a bit small for the price, and while we dove in as soon as the plates hit the table, everything was lukewarm. Among the sides, the Mac N Cheese was our favorite. The other offerings—Candied Yams, Collard Greens, and Rice & Beans—were solid but fairly basic. From the hot oven display, we tried the Beef Patty. The flavors were there, but it was a tad dry. It really could have benefited from a good dipping sauce. Not entirely sold on my friends’ claim that this is the best soul food spot in the area. Yet, with limited options for Southern soul food in Cambridge/GBA, I would probably come back if I’m craving for good fried chicken and Southern comfort food.
Jea K — Google review
The area is completely "dead" and the Collards Greens were cooked ,with Turkey and weren't that good. Never again. It cost me close to $10.00 .
Arnetta S — Google review
If you are wanting soul food and in the area you would be hard pressed to find better. We got the coast wings and the fried breast meals with a slice of sweet potato pie. The meals come with 2 sides so we got the green beans, rice and beans, candied yams and the mac and cheese. The wings do not have breading and that changes the texture but not the flavor. The seasoning of the chicken is a good classic chicken without trying to be the Nashville hot style. All of the sides were good. But the best side is the corn bread that comes with the meals. The sweet potato pie is the version that is very close to pumpkin pie.
Alex D — Google review
Only few would understand these following words: Food that comes from the soul is becoming a rarity. Why? It requires a certain individual to do things that normal society nowadays are not willing to partake in. The sacrifices that come with avoiding shortcuts, with choosing to maintain tradition, with maintaining quality over profit…those things are truly something that has become impossible to find. I’ll keep this review short. Just take it from someone who actually knows what goes on behind the scenes *here* and appreciates it. Family business for 20+ years, doing the same thing following family recipes from grandma and doing her proud sharing the gem of food that they still serve up to this day. Mind you, it’s easy to be complacent…but they choose not to be. If you want fried chicken that is cooked well Mississippi style (or fulfill whatever “south” you hail from) from scratch, this be your spot. It’s Boston. You can have real fried chicken or you can have “whatever” fried chicken. I rather have “real” fried chicken to appease one who actually has significantly travelled the south. Those who know. I’ll see you there.
Jireh H — Google review
I got the fried catfish plate with yams and Mac and cheese. I love soul food, but this was so disappointing. Everything tasted old and microwaved. The Mac and cheese was dry and the fried catfish was soft and nothing tasted freshly made. Everything was at least seasoned and the cornbread was good but those are the only positives.

FIYA HEN is a popular spot in Boston known for its Korean-style fried chicken. The wings are fried twice and can be coated in various sauces like Spicy Korean or Fiya Style, offering a tantalizing kick. The double-fried chicken provides an extra crunch, and the flavors include gochujang and the FIYA Style blend of hot chili and six dried spices. Additionally, the restaurant offers halal food options with friendly staff.
Food 5/5, atmosphere 5/5, service 5/5. No wait on a Saturday night and the food came out very fast. We tried The Nest with an added fried egg, The Isan Prime, Thai Tea, Strawberry Lemonade. My Isan Prime and Thai Tea was very delicious - authentic Thai the somtum was so good. Our server was Ben and he was great. I love that the menu is small and to the point and you can modify your food by adding fried eggs, sauces on the side, etc. We will definitely be back! ❤️🤍💙

FIYA HEN is an Asian restaurant located outside of the main campus of BU, specializing in a wide range of dishes, such as chicken rice, Korean corndogs, and Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken. I came in after a late night shift at work, and it was nice since this place is open until 2 AM on the weekends. The service was quick and friendly, and they were very apologetic because one of the dishes I ordered was sold out (understandable since I came in at 12 AM), but they provided us with free food and drinks on the house because of it. The food was alright. It was good for the price, the chicken breading is a bit on the heavier side, and the chicken has a lemony taste to it that may be a bit overwhelming for some people. I tried the spicy popcorn chicken with fries, and it was good, the fries weren't that soggy even with takeout, but went decently with the spicy sauce. Overall, a decent location for a late night bite.

Very delicious chicken tenders. They are relatively big size though. We got 10 peices for 2 kids, but 4 was left... We also had fries. Staff was responsive and polite. Nice atmosphere and relatively quiet.

Nice place. A quirky funny kinda smell when you come in. It had just opened for service, maybe a new mop is needed. I ordered a Thai Ice Tea (5 stars), a roti with curry sauce and a six piece spicy korean wings. All were good. I had to send the roti back because it looked anemic. They brought bit back a lot crispier. All in all not too bad an experience.

The food was quite good. The service was very good and I waited less than 10 minutes for my food, though it seems like I came during a slow time of day, so you might have more of a wait.

I was looking for somewhere to eat that was open late and was glad to stumble across this place—it’s open until 2 AM! I was impressed with the clean and spacious interior, great customer service, and nice bathroom (for customers only). The worker had great tableside manner and maintained professionalism. She even went outside to give orders to a couple of customers who were waiting. Unfortunately, I couldn’t give this place more stars because the food (which should be the star of the show) wasn’t that great. I agree with some of the reviews I read: the breading was thick, which limited how crispy the chicken could get, and the sauces just seemed off. The complimentary gloves are a nice touch, and the fact that they’re halal is also great for people with dietary limitations. Overall, I had a decent experience, and I might go back if I’m looking for a bite to eat later at night but there are better chicken places.

BEST SPOT FOR HALAL FOOD. Amazing staff. Chicken tasted good, maybe it could use a bit more refining for the taste but overall flavorful and good. The staff was SUPER nice and went there extra way to make sure we were accommodated. The Thai tea is amazing if you like earth flavors or milk teas. The burger was also delicious. Be sure to note that their chicken is a bit sweet. The mango and rice dessert was ok~ not too special. Would highly recommend their burgers, fries and Thai tea! The tea is the newest addition that has become a favorite amongst customers

Absolutely amazing food. The flavors were rich and balanced. We tried almost all of their burger flavors and they were all really good and unique. The chicken popcorn was delicious. The Thai toast with condensed milk was so insanely delicious I could have that thing for days. The service was also phenomenal. We really felt so welcome! This is a Boston essential that I would tell everyone to try. Did I mention it’s halal friendly!

If you're in Boston and craving a slice of pizza, look no further than Broadway's Best Pizza. This charming spot offers a delightful mix of Chicago-style deep dish and classic Italian subs that will leave you wanting more. A recent visitor from Chicago found the deep dish to be an amusing take on their hometown favorite, with its unique doughy crust and sauce-on-top presentation providing plenty of entertainment during dinner.
The food here was delicious, the staff here were very kind and respectful. Highly recommend coming here if you want a late night bite or just some overall good food.

Was surprised to see "Chicago style" pizza on the menu. As a Chicago native visiting Boston on a work trip, I had to try it. Had a good laugh once I got back to my hotel and opened it up. It's like they guessed what deep dish pizza is based on a 5 year old's crayon drawing. Paper thin. Doughy crust. But the sauce is on top, woah! Absolutely diabolical. I was thoroughly entertained as I ate the entire thing, it felt like I was the subject of a comedy central roast. Ingredients tasted fresh, the sausage was particularly delicious. Online ordering and carryout was easy and friendly. Reasonably priced. Seems like a great spot to grab a slice if you're in the area. Easily a highlight of my visit to Boston. Keep it up, ya filthy animals.

Ordered 3 pizzas at 7:25 which was estimated to arrive around 8:10. At 8:40 I called the restaurant to which they said it was on the way out and to give it 5-10 minutes. 40 minutes later it showed up cold. I don't even mind that it was delayed to being busy but don't lie to me when I ask what time it will be there.
Emre K — Google review
I failed to look at the reviews before ordering, the Chicago style is a joke. Also was pretty burnt on bottom. You’re better off getting a regular pizza. Very little cheese as well. We were all still hungry afterward.

Ordered online through their website to pick up on the way home from the office. Walked in right as it came out of the oven. $20 including tip for a small 2-topping pizza and an order of wings is not bad at all! Pizza was great - good ingredients, good crust, and they accommodated my special requests. I will definitely be back!
Claire — Google review
Disappointed. We live within a 5 minute drive and have ordered through doordash before with good results (and have left the appropriate positive feedback). This time though we decided to order through the store’s website - and it was a mistake. It took 45 minutes for the food to get to us - only after I called for a status update - and somehow the mozz sticks were cold and the chicken caesar wrap and croutons within were soggy and cold. That makes me think our order sat there for a while even though we live so close by. Too bad bc this was a very convenient neighborhood shop to order from.

Nestled in the heart of Boston, Cafe Podima, now known as Podima Pizza, is a delightful counter-serve eatery that offers an extensive menu brimming with mouthwatering options like pizza, sandwiches, and frozen yogurt. After a day of exploring the city’s vibrant streets, this cozy spot provides a perfect pit stop for families and friends alike.
Amazing service, went here in the late afternoon with my family after spending the day walking all around Boston, good food- paramount to NYC pizza. Amazing quality dough. Very nice owner, had a lovely conversation with him. Quick service, hot fresh food. I don't eat meat so I had the margherita pizza and Adams pizza, both were delicious and well made. My family had some kind of panini and a Hawaiian style pizza, great reactions from them, they smelled delicious as well! Will definitely be returning in the future with my college buddies, great atmosphere, not very busy in the afternoon.

Used to be cafe podima, now podima pizza. Not sure if its the same owners. Quick quality slices, haven't tried anything else yet.

Nothing but good things to say about these guys! My son and I dropped in while visiting Boston and had a great time talking with the workers there. They treated my son very well and encouraged him in pursuing his eventual career and education. They are hiring so check them out if you need a job! ;) The pizza was excellent and will come back next time we are in Boston.

The food is amazing here, but the guy taking orders is not very kind. Maybe he was having a bad day, but he shouldn't curse at the delivery driver in front of customers. He also had an attitude when I asked how long my order would be, that I ordered online ahead of time, but it still wasn't ready when I arrived.... after the time my online confirmation said it would be ready. If I wasn't on my lunch break and pressed for time, I would've just walked out and ordered someplace else.

I do not recommend spending your money here. I purchased a meatball sub and buffalo chicken sub. After having a baby, I was craving a meatball sub for 3 days. We spend $23 for 2 supposed large subs. I took pictures, they are not large and definitely not worth the cost. My husband said his buffalo chicken sub was good but was very salty. My meatball tasted like plain ground beef and was slightly undercooked. Meatballs looked more like cat food or tuna. I was disappointed as I was dissatisfied after desiring a meatball sub.

Favorite hole in the wall type place in the world!! The pizza is great and so are the gyros, but the staff are even better! Special sauce is to die for! Amazing experience each time, and my go to every time I’m in Boston :)

They used to be the best. I have worked at nearby for years and we always ordered from them. Lately the portions have gotten ridiculous and the service is not the best either. They have chopped the grilled chicken to minced meat on the salads now. Also, the lettuce looks beat and there is nothing else in in. They just came back after being closed but if they keep putting out food like this they'll be gone again

I know when ordering from certain places, food can be a hit or miss. I ordered chicken ziti and broccoli. The pasta has no flavor whatsoever. It's just pasta and white water like sauce that seeped to the bottom of the container. The chicken has flavor, in which they just threw that at the top with a couple of pieces of broccoli and coated with a little bit of cheese. Very disappointing. I gave 1 star for the chicken. This needs to be taken off the menu.
