We had a wonderful date night at Zest Bistro. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was excellent, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. My wife is vegetarian, and the team went out of their way to suggest great options and accommodate her preferences — which we really appreciated. Everything came together perfectly for a relaxed and memorable evening. Highly recommended!

What a superb dining experience! The menu is limited which I love because what is offered is carefully selected and prepared with love AND it’s a menu that changes. Good lighting and decor creates a warm and sophisticated space… Our table had curried mussels and goulash soup to start - both beautifully presented and tasty! Oh and the freshly baked bread…winner! Mains were the fillet, chicken supreme and pork belly - all were fantastic - the fillet was perfectly cooked and the pork belly got the ‘best I have ever been served’ rating. Wrapped things up with an Affogato and Burnt Lemon Tart which was absolutely delicious. If you are a wine lover, you’ll be intrigued by a very fresh and unique selection. Zest is not just another place that serves food - they love food and it shows on the plate! It was my first time and I will definitely be back…

Pretty good bistro cuisine and good service. Lovely venue and upmarket. Good value for money on the lunch specials. Would have liked a better sauce other than this 1000 island mayo.. on the schnitzel. The burger was good although the Flatbread was not in my view ideal: would be better on a toasted bun! Still.. the food was good. And I will go back to try the steak and wine list. Good spot.

A quaint spot for unique and tasty ice-cream flavours and combos. They offer cones as well as cups as a vehicle for your treat. There are one or two reduced sugar options, but there are more indulgent options than there are not. The environment is Instagrammable with many cute murals and mirrors with quirky phrases in order to photograph one’s self.

Place is sooo cute. Ice cream was good. Love that they open later. I had a scoop of Malt / Maltese cant remember exact name… on a waffle with chocolate sauce. Hubby had salted caramel on a waffle. Both were good. If you’re coming for just ice cream; recommend trying: Afternoon Tea : smooth and silky rooibos infused flavour.

The way to end of any brunch, lunch, or dinner is a little trip to Paul's homemade ice cream, and I have to say that this is one of the nicest stores I've been to. They have a fast variety as well as ample seating. This store offers a range of other baked goodies, and the cannelloni and chocolate fountains look really good! Of course I went with my favorite: birthday cake!

The atmosphere at Paul’s is absolutely amazing! It is stylish in pink and the servers were so nice and allowed us to try the different flavors of hard ice cream. The serving size was also very generous and I believe the flavors change every week

O my word what amazing upgrades! Place looks so fun and beautiful. Prettiest Paul’s I have seen. Love the new location and all the decor inside. So aesthetic - great for fun photos with friends. Unfortunately gone are the days where i had Vietnamese Coffee and Oreo at the food and wine show 12 years ago and honestly thought it was the best ice cream in the world.. I was that person that used plan my dinners to be close to a Pauls so i could get my Pauls fix after dinner.. I had the flavour of the month:Vanilla and fudge.All marketing had some sort of golden fudge sauce(see Instagram), but it was just vanilla with cheap fudge pieces.The ice cream i had left an off milk taste in my mouth. The texture was not creamy and felt like it was frozen for too long and kind of tasted like chunky flavoured milked iced shavings(gosh i miss those days where you would dig your spoon into the cup and the ice cream would melt away in your mouth and not break away into many pieces. I think Pauls has taken a commercial route at the expense of quality.. I hope they can up their game because i can see another Wakaberry looming and the final slow death of Pauls.. P.S Baglios is my new favourite.you can do half scoops and get a free waffer. Lifelong Ice Cream Lover

So here is my take. Being doing takeaway for years. I have never experienced this type of decline in cost savings from KFC. Placed an order from the drive through, got home and was disgusted. My order was 2 zinger burger meals. Firstly the burger was an excuse for a burger. Not even in a box, wrapped in paper(DOESN'T KFC NOW COMPROMISE ON PACKAGING TO SAVE COST) The size of the burger was as small as a R 5.00 coin. I don't mind paying a fee for a good takeaway. Is this another blame on America for TARIFFS 🤔🤔 Not sure I'll be doing KFC takeaway for a very long time.

What a lovely experience buying from this KFC. We've tried and tested many different ones over the years. This one takes the cake or, in this case, the chicken. Do yourself a favor and support them. Friendly staff, fresh food, and a very lively atmosphere. Would definitely buy from them again. Highly recommend

Go to KFC you know you gambling if you order a mini loaf.....not the first time, and it won't be the last. Its the Only franchise that does this.

Last time I had RocoMamas, the first awesome memory was Cheese bombs. So I made sure I ordered some, this turned out completely opposite. Not buying that again. I don't mention waiter names as I don't want any one to get warned or fired. But its your duty to ensure we can actually hear what your waiters say. My partner couldn't even make out what the man was saying. Friendly but communication is very bad. And then lastly to point out the mistake on the menu. Food comes in good portion, good service a bit crowded and tightly spaced tables. The nachos had a disproportionate level of chips cheese and cream salsa, way too much cheese that becomes a bit rubbery. The ribs were good but not the best I have tasted yet. The fries came in huge portion. The burgers I guess are the speciality of the house.

I have to commend KFC management for their response after my complaint. I was contacted by both Nkateko (shift manager from the branch) and then by Kashlan (manager) who offered to replace my order. I was at first sceptical but I have to admit the meal was exectly what is was suppose to be "fingerlicking good". I was not only impressed with the willingness to look into the matter to ensure this doesn't happen again but also with the professionalism they handled this complaint. Kudos to KFC Jean Village!!! Have just ordered from KFC Jean Village, snack dunked wings and Dunked Crunch Master. Please tell me if you can see any sauce on both. I've ordered from them many times and 60% of the time something is wrong. You might as well close this place as I will rather drive a few km more to a KFC who can deliver what they are offering. The flavour on the chicken is only on the outside. Inside tastes like boiled chicken and the kids noticed too. You like using the ends of a tomato to put in our burgers. Respect us please. May the tomato be fresh as well. Your chips have greatly improved.

A 5 star experience from beginning to end. Our company held a function there for 50 people. Andrew's response was always prompt and accommodating when doing the planning. We arrived to have everything perfectly set up and organised. The food was so delicious and great portion sizes.The staff kept raving about it. The staff were friendly, helpful and always around when needed . Our staff felt comfortable to enjoy themselves until late into the evening. I would highly recommend Blind Tiger for a big event or even just a week day lunch out

Very relaxed atmosphere, inviting and friendly all around, would definitely recommend and return. Probably won't be having the Prego again, as it's more of a... Peri-peri mayonnaise thinly spread on the top of the roll than an actual Prego sauce, but the chips are lovely. My partner enjoyed their burger a lot, and both cocktails were a delight. I did feel like there was a bit of a long time after we were ready to order and seeing the wait-staff so we could place the order. Also waited a bit long to see anyone when we were trying to get the cheque, but maybe they were pre-occupied with setting up which I understand. Definitely happy to return there.

The venue was warm, beautifully presented, and immaculately maintained. The staff was outstanding, and the cleaning team kept everything spotless throughout the event. A very special thank you to Frankie and Elton, who were there from 9am to help with everything from table settings to the sound system, microphone, and projector — and who stayed until midnight, ensuring everything ran seamlessly. Their support was exceptional. Thank you, Andrew and the Blind Tiger team, for creating such a joyful, smooth, and memorable celebration. We are so grateful!

A place with a garden or outside sitting area, in summer, is always a go-to! The bummer is smoking because it goes in whatever direction no matter where you're sitting, as long as it's outside. The food was great, and their Peri-peri prego burger is the one. I loved the calamari (which I hadn't had in so long). Their vanilla milkshake wasn't too sweet, and for someone like me who doesn't have that sweet a tooth, that's a winner. My not-so-sweet tooth didn't enjoy sweet potato fries. With service, I can't really fault them because the place gets packed, and it was a Friday. Affordable as well. I'd do it again!

We went in for supper. The restaurant is within a hotel and the decor is very nice. We had an artisanal bread board when we were seated. The bread was soft and tasted amazing. The babaganush and butter served with it tasted quite nice. Next up was the starter. I had the cold smoked salmon. The smoky flavor was very nice, and the portion size was really good. The salmon was absolutely delicious. For the main, I had a half baby chicken. This was served on a flatbread. The chicken was succulent. However, when compared to the starter, I thought it fell a bit short. Nevertheless, a flavourful meal. For dessert, I had the 60% dark chocolate torte. The dish came with chocolate ice cream, but personally thought it was mediocre. Our waiter was kind and friendly and explained all the dishes as they arrived. I would definitely return for the salmon.

As part of Restaurant Week, we had dinner at Sejour. Sejour is a very sophisticated and beautifully decorated restaurant housed inside the Houghton Hotel. We were given a warm welcome by our waiter and offered complimentary non-alcoholic wine upon our arrival. The evening's set menu is comprised of four courses. Our appetitiser included an artisanal bread board. This consisted of whole wheat sourdough, a honey and rosemary roll, and three different accouterments. The sourdough was still hot from the oven, and the cooked bread smelled delicious. The accompaniments were handmade butter with chili sauce and sea salt, baba ghanoush, and another aubergine-based topping with sumac on top. Overall, I enjoyed this breadboard and was left wanting more. For our starter, we were served cold-smoked salmon cured in beetroot, presented on a bed of tabouleh with a sprinkle of trout roe. There was a generous piece of salmon, which was wonderfully prepared and did the fresh fish justice. The tabouleh, which included bulgar wheat, was refreshing and complimented the salmon well. Overall, this dish left an unforgettably good impression on me. We ordered the harissa-marinated half-baby chicken as our main course. The chicken was presented on a flatbread that was drizzled with pico de gallo and corn. The flat bread was exceptionally delicious and effortlessly dissolved in your mouth. The size of the poultry surprised me as the menu specified it was a half-baby chicken. It looked more like a half of an adult chicken. While the meal was generally satisfactory, I was somewhat let down by it as my expectations were higher following the salmon starter. This dish lacked any distinctive qualities and appeared to be a slightly elevated version of chicken tikka, to be honest. For dessert, I ordered the pumpkin pie. This was essentially a nutmeg and lemon-infused baked dessert served with creme fraiche ice cream. The ice cream was velvety and didn't taste store-bought. I thought the pumpkin pie had too many flavors going on and was borderline incoherent. Even while it was a pleasant experience overall, I was a little disappointed with the meals after the salmon starter (which set a high bar). It would be great if the salmon started could be ordered individually; I would definitely come back for more of it.

Now when I tell you this restaurant is amazing! The location and the views are worth everything. The prices are okay, a very small menu, great cocktails and amazing service. I overstayed my welcome I just didn’t want to leave! You’ll be finding me here from now on 🥂

The restaurant has the most beautiful sunset views. That, topped off with cocktails was a great way to start the evening. Other highlights include the wine pairing (it was a 1st for me, so I have nothing toncompare it to), the Ribeye Steak with triple fried chips and mushroom sauce, and the friendly service from the waiters/ sommeliers.

At first if you tall, you wonder if the tables and chairs are designed for a certain average human height. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING EXPERIENCE! Makes me wish all my previous reviews of restaurants were a 3 or 4. This was truly 5. Firstly the restaurant is beautiful, with a clean and fresh aesthetic. We sat on the terrace which was just as lovely. From start to end, the service was on point and they were accommodating. They have an extensive wine list. The food was delicious! Everything tasted fresh with delicately balanced flavours, but still felt hearty! It was a fine dining experience with soul. No seasoning was needed. Only negative: the T-Bone was medium (which was requested) in some parts and well done in others. It is a tricky part of meet to get right because the thickness varies from the outside in. We were a take of 4 and we had starters, mains and desserts. Which included meatless, red meat and fish options. All were sublime. We had 2 large bottles of water, cocktails and MCC. Our bill was R3k including tip. I feel that's value for money compared to other restaurants of a similar standard. Love love love! Thank you to the chef and pastry chef for visiting our table and for the lovely treat for the birthday girl.

Sejour is a stunning restaurant overlooking the Houghton golf course. It’s the perfect setting for a romantic date night. However the food was a bit underwhelming. The Seasonal Salad was supposed to have burrata in it (as listed on the restaurant week website), but it doesn’t come with it at the actual restaurant. This made the salad quite plain. The Crispy Calamari was nice but the curry sauce gets too much. Luckily we both got the different starters so we could share. The Chicken and Mushroom main was delicious. The breast was tender and the broth had a lovely flavour. The Grass Fed Sirloin was disappointing. The meat was quite tough and I wasn’t able to eat most of it. However the fries that came with it were amazing! Soft and mashy inside, but crispy on the outside. Paired with a divine black garlic mayo. The chimichurri sauce was also scrumptious. Dessert was a Chai Posset (nice flavour, but didn’t enjoy the saltiness from the pumpkin pieces), and Milk Stout (average cake pieces, but the ice cream was wow!). The service was great and the manager did come and chat to us about the tough steak issue, but I do think such a fancy restaurant should make sure their steak is up to scratch!

Booked at this restaurant because called to find out if they did anything for birthdays which they advised they did however nothing was done which was a disappointment. We got to the restaurant and was seated. No waiter had come to our table. Patrons that came after us where being assisted. We had to get an attention of a waiter who then assisted us. Food looked good but lacked in flavour. The desserts where good so was the vibe of the place. Not worth the money spent.

We were lucky to come on a Wednesday where they had a special date night menu for R850 which includes a bottle of their house wine. Service was great, we arrived early so the waitresses had more time to take care of us. Date night dinner only starts at 6pm. Food was great, surprisingly good. The only dish which was a bit disappointing was the rack of lamb. It was over cooked and the portion was in the small side. The kingklip fillet was amazing, nice thick piece of tender fish cooked perfectly. They said the menu changes monthly, so will be trying it out again in the future.

It was my first time visiting, and I was assisted by Minenhle, who was absolutely amazing — friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly. The kingklip was a solid 10/10 — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The soup was beautifully balanced, and you could tell everything was made fresh; you could literally smell how good the food was before even tasting it! Unfortunately, I had to skip dessert this time (blame the alcohol 🤣).

The place is beautiful with great aesthetics, a warm ambience and good music that really adds to the experience. The overall energy was lovely and made it a nice spot to relax. The only downside was the slow service and the interaction at the front when we asked to sit outside — the staff member (with a bob and glasses) came across a bit dismissive and made remarks when we didn’t want to sit where she placed us. It didn’t overshadow the whole visit, but it stood out against the otherwise positive vibe.

A great day and evening with amazing music and ambiance. The staff is amazing and very welcoming and accommodating. They make you feel as if at home. Big shoutout to the Tempo staff. The music was great and definitely kept the vibes up. If you are looking for 5star culinary meals and a warm and friendly atmosphere it’s definitely a place for you.

We came here on a Monday to celebrate a special occasion and we were given the absolute best service. They made my day so special. I cannot rave about this place enough. Peter and Kenny took care of us and they definitely exceeded our expectations. Will be coming back to Tempo for many more celebrations. On the 23rd of May 2025 was in the store, the service was poor the lady who worked on a drive through didn't even greet me. Furthermore to that,I went back on the 3rd of June 2025 between 9pm-10pm. I waited on the drive through for good 30 minutes before paying and another 20 minutes waiting for the order. The service it is not giving KFC😔

The service was just ohk. My food was a bit disappointing, the wrap was a bit too loose for my liking. But l would definitely come again. What I believe what l didn't like can be improved.

Terrible service Ordered through the app on my way home . Got to kfc and I decided to make an additional order . I tried for 5 minutes to grab the attention of the lady in front but I was completely ignored . When my additional order arrived , I enquired about the app order . I am writing to share my recent experiences at your drive-thru. While I appreciate the speed of service, there are a couple of areas that need improvement: Lack of Basic Amenities: On multiple occasions, I’ve noticed that essential items like napkins and straws are consistently missing from my order. It would greatly enhance the customer experience if these basics were consistently provided. Quality of Food: Unfortunately, the food often feels dry and lacks freshness. It’s as if I’m eating leftovers from the previous day. Perhaps this issue could be addressed by reviewing food preparation processes. I believe in giving chances, and I’ve given the benefit of the doubt twice already. However, today’s experience was disappointing, and I regret to say that it will be my last visit unless improvements are made.

I ordered a Ghost Pepper meal, but instead, I received a Dunked meal. After making a call, I was informed that the Ghost Pepper meal was out of stock. I didn’t choose the Dunked meal for a reason, yet an alternative was sent without even consulting me first. I don’t understand how that’s acceptable. I couldn’t even eat the food and had to give it to someone else. Really disappointed.

Ordered a pepper box instead received dunked box, when i called the store they tried to blame the driver for mixing orders up but that was a lie as my order had the right order number sticker, then the story changed to we apologise we're actually out of pepper sauce & that was after i had made countless calls which went unanswered. It's the lies that pissed me off.

My cousin and I had the OMG 8 piece rolls to share and had the pink plates as it was Tuesday All Pink Plates for R55 and wow was it delicious😍 waiters and sushi chefs are very professional and have good banter. You need to go here! I’ve been going to this restaurant for years, and honestly, every visit just gets better and better. I popped in for lunch today, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. One thing I absolutely love is that the restaurant has expanded — there’s now plenty of space for people to sit comfortably with different sections to choose from, depending on the vibe you're going for. The menu is fantastic! It has such a wide variety of amazing options to suit every taste. I tried a special they were offering — 8 pieces of sushi (california salmon rolls) served with 3 spinach and cream cheese dim sum. It was the perfect combination. My partner and his friend orderedthe teppanyaki special, and they really enjoyed it too! This still came with chicken pot stickers. I also ordered an extra plain fried rice which was great on its own! Another thing I really appreciate is the little touch of hospitality — the restaurant offers complimentary small Italian kisses at the end of the meal. It’s such a sweet gesture that makes the whole experience even more special. We also couldn’t resist dessert and decided to share the chocolate bubble. It was not only delicious but also so aesthetic! The bubble smoke that came with it added to the entertainment, which we all enjoyed. The waiters and managers also pop in to check on you to see how you're doing throughout. I absolutely love this place. The food, the atmosphere, and the service is always great. I’ll definitely keep coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

I came in the morning to order a breakfast wrapster meal, I was greeted and served very professionally by the staff. To my surprise I was not happy with the portion size of my meal as I've previously enjoyed many times at other franchises. The fillets used for the wraps sent from their supplier are miniature,like R83 for a meal? one would expect to be really full. I handed the meal back to the staff and they gladly assisted to try and select a decent size fillet for the wrap Perfect had redone. Thank you Perfect for going the extra mile for a customer.

The food was fresh, incredibly tasty, and absolutely amazing, and the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. As someone who lives in JHB, I rarely experience service this good—truly refreshing! I would definitely recommend this place to others. Please keep up the excellent work!

There's literally no one assisting us after placing our orders

I cannot remember the last time we did not have to stop in the parking lot to wait for food after going through the drive through. I do not understand how every other KFC can get the timing of delivering fast food quickly right and this place just does not.

Cool, chilled place with a very decent vibe. The music was on point and the vibes were immaculate. The food was proper delicious, the burger I ordered was juicy and full of flavour and the wings you just need to try them to actually believe me when I say they’re out of this world. They have a wide variety of drinks available if you want to try out something new. They also have clean toilets btw. The service was great and their staff is actually friendly. Definitely worth revisiting this place.

Have visited this restaurant twice. Both times the ribs and wings were exceptional. Great flavour, great taste. Definitely worth the price. Mondays are half-priced ribs, so definitely take advantage. It does tend to get busy, so advisable to try arrive a bit earlier than peak times. Most flavours of wings are very good, just be careful with the really hot stuff. Will definitely return again at some point in the future.

Got there during the day and it was buzzing, the lady who greated us at the door was so helpful. Showed us all the sitting options and made sure we were comfortable. The drinks were not flowing, so we had to wait and at times call her for refills but hoping that was because it was busy. Great overall experience and will definitely be going back

Aye. I had a great visit - their food is as good as advertised. I am definetely coming back to checkout more cocktails and pork ribs. The space is slightly cramped, but I guess that's the atmosphere they are trying to exhibit - intimacy 😊. A furniture change or fix would be greatly appreciated, especially the couches - some parts torn badly and not so comfortable. Overall - I had a pleasing experience, from the food all the way to the guy that was serving us, big shout-out to him. Thanks guys 💯 PS: Food and Drink menus attached.

It's very beautiful, recently renovated. Very modern, with free wi-fi and charging facilities. I'd come to work here anytime.

Enjoyed visiting this branch as I was serviced in a matter of minutes. The placed would have got 5 stars as the entire shop was spotless including the restrooms, however the tables were all dirty and left us looking around for a place to eat. We laid down some tissue and enjoyed our portions.

2nd time in a row I get huge disappoint from this KFC. 1st time me and my wife was told, the can't help us by the drive thru cos they short staffed. We must get out the car and come inside but its after 9 at night. Today's 1 was my last. I will never go there again. I pull up and ask the lady to give me 1 sec PLEASE cos I want to discuss the order with my wife quick. The lady tells us to reverse out and come back when we ready. I reversed out, went to go tell the manager and left. I will not spend my money at a place like this. Never ever

I am a resident that resides in the the same street. I was very happy about the new renovations that was done and the place looks amazing. I just wish they can do something about service delivery and the way their staff speaks to us. I just got told over the drive through intercom that i should hurry up and stop waiting their time. Hahaha. I don't get disrespected like that. I left without ordering or paying anything. Even if it js the closest KFC to me, i will not use you again. Thanks.

Service is very slow and it’s not the first time I bought food late after work, cashiers and packers are always standing around gossiping not doing much but there is a lot of staff members. I would understand if there was a drive thru aswell but there isn’t one so I don’t understand why they would be so slow and it’s cold in the store to be sitting so long for just chicken.

I was not expecting to love the flavour of the food as much as I did. My initial expectation was that this will be a regular experience in a Indian style restaurant, but the restaurant was well kept and clean. How ever the food was amazing, the flavours of everything I tried was just perfect. Definitely worth a try.

Ate the chicken briyani Friday special, second week in a row! Very flavourful and they are generous with the chicken pieces. They have a nice sized potatoe and a boiled egg. Very tasty. Loved it! Will definitely recommend.

I'm very disappointed with the service received today. We had to ask to be seated, after asking, the waiter showed us where we can sit, after a little while, the owners brother kept on shouting the waiter as to why he let us sit there, this happened twice and on top of that, this was happening not very far from where we seated, how unprofessional. Felt really unwelcomed.

This truly one of my favourite places to eat. As a potato lover it's a adventure when u go to Tjip and see the variety of chips and toppings. So far my go to treat is the "Wing-A-Wing-Ding". The saucy crispy chicken wing meets warm krunchy chunky chips. It's spicy, fresh, sweet and creamy. Everything the taste buds want!

Chips were really bad, which is ironic for a business centred around chips. Overpriced. Took forever to get our food. Sauces were gross and looked even worse. The protein that we were served tasted horrendous. When we tried to order meals containing cheese sauce and avocado, they told us we couldn't because it was out of stock. What a joke...
