Hurry and get to ‘The Point’!
Luxurious. Breathtaking. Picturesque. Peaceful. Relaxing…a few adjectives to describe our overall vacation experience at The Point at Petite Calivigny.
From our first visit, my husband fell in love with this small, tropical, unspoiled island and chose to revisit Grenada several times after. After weeks of research, we settled on The Point at Petite Calivigny.
Grenada, also known as ‘Spice Island’, has a huge spice industry and is the world’s second largest manufacturer and exporter of nutmeg after Indonesia. It is also known for its lush botanical gardens, rainforest, beautiful beaches, and friendliest people. Unlike some of its island counterparts, Grenada has a very low crime rate, and its ‘genuine Caribbean Vibe’ makes it an ideal destination for those wishing for a taste of an authentic island experience.
Kelliann Waldron, the facility’s’ manager contacted us the previous day with self check-in instructions, as our flight was scheduled for a late arrival. The self check-in instructions were precise and made entering the facility effortless. The property was brightly lit, clean, and well manicured. The unit was spacious, bright, and spotless. The furnishings and ambiance were spectacular. The next morning, we woke up to the most stunning view. Our room overlooked both the ocean and pool area. Actually, the view’s vantage ‘point’ was afforded from every room in the unit.
The accommodations, amenities, and view are noteworthy, but it’s the staff that makes this facility exceptionally unique. We finally had the pleasure and honor of meeting Kelliann, the marketing and facility manager. Later that day, we met Agie and Kelisha from housekeeping, as well as Lester, who oversees maintenance for the property. The staff is very friendly. It was a little over a week into our stay, before we had the pleasure of meeting the masterminds behind this beautiful development, both Dr. Christopher Ashby and his wife Aileen.
So, what’s my ‘point.’
This boutique-style, low density facility is nestled in a charming, quiet community on the southern side of the island. It consists of 12 2-bedroom condos, with an additional 3, 3-bedroom villas. The units are complimented with contemporary furnishings, which are methodically and uniquely styled. Each condo comes with a full kitchen and laundry facility. This gated property has 24/7 security, and every unit is equipped with smoke and fire detectors. The gym, which is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment, is located on the south side of the facility and offers a stunning panoramic view of the ocean.
The evening affords magnificent sunsets as we sipped on our beverage of choice and observed the selection of yachts and sailboats moored in the bay. The waterfront is secluded and ideal for snorkeling and some swimming. We had access to free local telephone calls, robust Wi-Fi, streaming, superb housekeeping, concierge, parking, and pool, just to mention a few. A staff member is always available long after regular business hours. A restaurant is currently in the process of being built, which would offer guests the luxury and convenience of dining on the property, with an oceanic view. A vehicle is essential since it’s about a 20-minute drive from the property to the city, and one can be arranged in advance of arrival.
So, my ‘point' is this! Whether you’re in search of an investment property for your winter escape or a vacation getaway that is not your typical resort experience, then maybe The Point at Petite Calivigny is exactly what you’re looking for. God willing, we hope to return again in the very near future. ‘The Point’ has been amongst one of our most memorable vacation experiences.
Thank you, Kelliann, Christopher, Aileen, Aggie, Kelisha, Kison, Lester, Leroy, and the entire staff, who made it all possible. We could not have done this without you!
See you soon!
