City Silo Table + Pantry is a health-oriented juice bar and cafe that prioritizes local, organic produce in its smoothies, wraps, and salads. The mostly vegan diner places a strong emphasis on fresh, organic, locally grown produce and superfoods.
First timer! I enjoyed my meal 😋 A healthy eatery, live plants everywhere, indoor outdoor seating. I had the pleasure to eat a Hen House and my chose of drink a Go Green. Most definitely coming back.

FRESH AND CLEAN! Grabbed dinner here last week with some friends. It was my first time and so I didn’t know what to expect. The menu is expansive and full of super fresh, healthy options. There’s also lots of grab and go items. The food is good and the service was excellent. I like the decor as well.
Brian S — Google review
I visited City Silo today and was immediately impressed by the atmosphere—it’s warm, inviting, and beautifully designed. However, I was disappointed to find that the fruit in my child’s meal wasn’t fresh and the green tea served was a Kroger brand. I came to City Silo expecting fresh, organic ingredients and was taken aback by the quality. I take my health and nutrition seriously, and I believe that with the same care and attention given to creating such a wonderful environment, the same effort could be reflected in the food and beverages offered.

A cool looking deli style hip place. You have to order in the counter and they will serve the food at your table. They have many options for salad, sandwich, juice and other drinks, etc. They have plenty vegan and vegetarian options. Both of us got sandwiches with a bag of chip and a side salad . The sandwich was freshly made with fresh ingredients. The side salad was also very fresh and refreshing. I drank one beet juice ( along with other stuff). It was very refreshing. Overall, if you look for quality over quantity - this might be your place.

Wow! This is a Valdi approved joint! I ordered a Hummus Wrap with chicken, sliced avocado along with a side salad, another side salad, sriracha sauce for later in the day so you can see the size, to drink the Expresso Dream. This place is legit! The food is amazing and Vegans and Vegetarians this is your spot, I promise! Service was great (I placed a To-Go order), the place is beautiful and ambience is super nice! Plenty of tables in and outside, parking wasn’t an issue. Healthy food at its best!!! You heard for me! I added their other locations!

City Silo Table + Pantry is hands down the most healthy restaurant Memphis has to offer. Deserving of 5 stars. From spin offs of breakfast classics, salads, acai bowls, hearty bowls, burgers to sandwiches, City Silo's got you covered with both meat and vegetarian substitutions. Their biophilic clean aesthetics speak to the green energy City Silo wants to channel to their space, and I am as happy as a kid on Christmas day. Every city needs a City Silo to change the world of dining out. I tried both their Green Machine salad and Buffalo Tempeh and Sesame Cauliflower bowl with farm raised chicken addition. They were both very tasty. I highly recommend you try their bowls as they are indeed hearty and have you feeling full, energized yet light. City Silo is a self service that has got you covered from coffee, a quick bite to a full meal. Every item on the menu is thoughtfully assembled with your health in mind so that you can walk in with full confidence you made a great choice! Give them a try!

I really enjoy this place, I like there new local it is cozy the food is great and hearty. I had a macha macha macha hot and the hippie breakfast bowl which was delicious. Definitely recommend as a place to eat and just relax.

Stopped in at City Silo and tried the Chicken Salad El Goodo B along with their chocolate cookie with sea salt. The bowl was fresh, flavorful, and filling — a solid balance of protein and greens that left me satisfied without feeling heavy. The chicken salad had great texture and just the right seasoning. The cookie was the perfect finish — rich chocolate with a touch of sea salt that really set it apart. Soft, decadent, and honestly one of the better cookies I’ve had in a while. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere has that clean, healthy vibe without being overdone. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when I want something wholesome but still tasty.

Salad shop
Sandwich shop
Cheffie's Cafe is a spacious counter-serve eatery with locations in Memphis, Collierville, and Shelby Farms. It offers a variety of signature soups, sandwiches, and salads but is best known for its 'Be the Chef' concept. Customers can create their own custom salads and sandwiches from scratch or choose from a diverse menu of options.
This is my first review of Cheffie’s, but I’m a longtime fan of all their locations. You can get the absolute freshest soups, salads, and sandwiches here and this location has draft beers as well. On this visit, I was greeted pleasantly by the staff who was knowledgeable and thoughtful when they answered my questions. I really enjoyed the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich that was filled and full of flavor of chicken & veggies. I chose a kale soup as one of sides and it was fresh and flavorful too. As a bonus, I took home some potato salad, which was zesty and chomped full of taters. Overall, I was very pleased.
Natasha M — Google review
My mom said this was the best salad she’s had in a long while. She enjoyed that there was good fresh vegetables with a salad dressing that wasn’t too over powering. We talked to the staff and they were very helpful and friendly. Good restaurant 👍🏼
Noa M — Google review
I rarely leave reviews, but I it's necessary to warn others about our recent experience at Chefy's. My friend and I dined here and ordered the Greek Salad and the Santa Fe Salad. We both became violently ill with food poisoning symptoms so severe that I very seriously contemplated going to the ER at one point. The experience was absolutely miserable and raised major concerns about the restaurant's sanitary conditions. We both reached out to the restaurant, first to warn them of the situation in hopes they could prevent this from happening to anyone else. They show very little regard for the situation, didn't ask any questions, and even hang up on my friend. It is clear they don't care about food safety or customer health seriously. They obviously don't care and sounds like the owner Matt, doesn't either by the way how he responded to another person's review. Talk about customer service! This was our first time going here, didn't read any of the reviews until now. I hope others read this review before thinking about going here... They first need to assess their sanitary conditions, probably close their restaurant for a few days, do a full clean up and put into place strict rules to follow. For now, I cannot recommend eating here, and I urge others to be cautious.
Ximena — Google review
This used to be one of THE BEST places for a great fresh salad however it's dull now. The ingredients had no flavor, the salad dressing tasted watered down, and the staff were just as flavorless. I dunno what happened there!
K W — Google review
I’ve never left a negative review in my life, but in the interest of public health I wanted to report that my friend and I both got food poisoning at the Cheffie’s High Point Terrace location. We ate there on Thursday, 8/28 and both ordered salads. The next day we both became violently ill with severe vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and dizziness. I’ve now been bed-ridden for more than 2 days. I tried reaching out to Cheffie’s via instagram to let them know, but they never opened the message. Then I called to tell a manager, and he spoke to me for less than a minute before hanging up on me. I just looked at their reviews online, and two months ago a customer gave a review criticizing the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the owner Matt Wilson replied “get a life.” I’ve submitted a report to the Shelby County Health Department, and will not be returning.
Mary G — Google review
Cheffie’s salads are simply outstanding. Always fresh and rather large serving sizes. Highly recommend the “Build Your Own”salad as they give you a ton of options for your choice of protein, cheese, and other various toppings. Also highly recommend getting your salad “chopped”. The restaurant itself is always nice and clean, and the staff are great, super friendly and courteous. Great outdoor patio/deck too.
BrotherMemphis — Google review
I like that you get to build your own salad/sandwich. You also get a lot salad so no complaints. Just wished they displayed all the prices on the menu so you would know what you paying.
Charisma — Google review
Cheffies Cafe is downright disgusting. The place was filthy — sticky floors, dirty tables, and an overall smell that made me question how often anything gets cleaned. It was gross from the minute I walked in. But the worst part? My cashier. He was the one ringing me up, and he just stared at me the entire time — not in a friendly way, but in a weird, uncomfortable, invasive way. It was creepy and unsettling, like he didn’t know basic boundaries. It made me feel really on edge. The food was trash too — cold, flavorless, and clearly thrown together with zero care. Honestly, I couldn’t even enjoy it after that experience. Between the unsanitary conditions and the uncomfortable interaction with my cashier, this place is a complete no. Do yourself a favor and skip Cheffies — nothing about it is worth the discomfort.

Breakfast restaurant
Edge Alley, located in the Edge District of Memphis, is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant offers delicious meals made from scratch and beautifully plated. The menu features a variety of sandwiches, salads, and shareable plates at prices ranging from $12 to $20. Known for its excellent and speedy service, fresh food, and pet-friendly patio seating, it's a must-visit for brunch. The restaurant also boasts an excellent coffee program with owner Tim Barker roasting his own beans.
I enjoyed my first time brunching at Edge Alley. Make sure you ask for Adrian 😊 when you come, he provided exceptional service and even recommendations of the menu. They have a mixed variety of drinks, I ordered the “Big Mimosa” & “The Good Stuff” (spiked coffee) both were really good and flavorful. I also ordered the special Chicken & Waffles and the French Toast Waffles. The waffles alone were amazing and I will definitely be back.
Shiteya J — Google review
First visit and had a good lunch with a couple of friends. Our server Joyce was great! Chicken Salad Salad and chips were just okay. Found the chicken salad to be a bit dry actually and some of the chips had a burnt taste. Big Mimosa was good. Swanky ambiance….reminds me of a place I’d see in NYC.
Anthony C — Google review
It was the first time that we tried Edge Alley and it was delicious. We had a reservation and did not have to wait. The speedy service was excellent. Our server was Liam and he was very courteous. The food was fresh and so good. We had the French toast waffle which tasted like Chantilly cake❤️. The Mimosa of course were good as well as the nice and warm Cinnamon sticky bread. We had the Egg and Cheese Sandwich with fruit on the side and it was delectable. The best part is the patio area is pet friendly. We will be returning in the near future.
Leysha J — Google review
My first visit here. The food was pretty good. I had the steak and eggs and a mimosa. Moderately priced. The service was slow. We waited 50 mins for our food. The atmosphere was great. I will go back.
Stacey B — Google review
This is place is very close to my apartment and I simply love to be here. They have both inside and the patio tables. We walked in, but the pace usually is highly packed. So I highly recommend you to get a reservation before. Their inside environment is very cool, hip, and new age. The staff work here are also cool and welcoming. They have some interesting beverage section. I had a cappuccino and that was too good. The food was good. I ordered a lox with biscuit. The lox fillets were decent, but the thyme lavender biscuits were mind blowing. I took fruits as the side. They were fresh. My boyfriend ordered some waffle. It was good too. We ordered a pie as a dessert. It was a bit mediocre. Overall i think it’s good. Although it was fine for me, but some people may complain about the portion size. Update: we revisited again for the brunch. This time I ordered the fried chicken with biscuit and my friend ate the steak and eggs. Both the dishes were terrific. The only thing is that their menu options are limited. Another update: Loved their chicken sandwich. It was yummy and filling.
Debisree R — Google review
(Three reviews from each visit) First trip: Well this was awesome. Overnight oats: really unique take with almond butter topping and some sweet crispy granola around the oats which are underneath. Super fresh berries. The Breakfast dish was well enjoyed by my partner, Altho the biscuit left something to be desired. Just kinda tough and not super awesome like everything else. The sticky bread was really good! Sweet, great bread, and nice frosting type topping. Last but not least, the Colombian Washed pour over was very smooth, a nice presentation. Cool decor, nice vibe, welcoming staff, very clean facilities. Thanks for having us! Second trip: the overnight oats was much smaller Third trip: burger looks amazing but overcooked. They say they are all cooked medium, but this was well done.
Brendan H — Google review
I came on a Sunday for a friend’s birthday brunch. They only allow 6 people max for a group seating, so I would be aware of that before going. Service was very nice, and the ambiance was too. The food was very good. I had the chicken and waffles and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also had the How Now Brown Cow coffee and was not impressed with that. It tasted like a mocha when it’s supposed to be a salted hazelnut coffee. Overall, I would recommend this place.
Karen V — Google review
We were in town for a volleyball tournament and I made a reservation here for dinner. I have no regrets! The service was amazing, the food was outstanding, and the restaurant was adorable. I got the warm olives and toast, the gnocchi and the marmalade tart and it was phenomenal. 10/10 recommend.

The Majestic Grille is a restaurant located in a grand 1913 movie house that was originally built as the Majestic No. 1 theater, showcasing silent films for over three decades. The restaurant has been meticulously restored to exude an old-school Hollywood ambiance with beaux arts style decor. It features a large screen that still shows silent movies and classic films, offering diners a nostalgic experience of the early days of cinema.
Had a lovely brunch here with family today and it was wonderful. I wasn't too hungry, so I contented myself with a cup of tomato-basil soup. I virtually inhaled it - it had a certain smokiness I've never had in other iterations. Utterly delicious. Hubs had the shrimp & grits, and he *never* raves about his meals. This one he did - he said it had an unctuous mouth-feel and was the best shrimp & grits he's ever had. (Call me surprised listening to him rave about his meal.) My cousin had Cæsar salad with blackened shrimp - again, so, so yummy. Our server Timothy took very good care of us, friendly and attentive without hovering. If you find yourself walking past, do not pass 'Go,' do not collect $200, just go inside for Memphis deliciousness.
Heather S — Google review
We had reservations so we were seated immediately. We gave our drink order and later our food order at which time we were informed they were out of what my wife wanted. She ended up with a grilled cheese and she enjoyed it very much. I had the ribs and although they had excellent flavor, they were very dry. The ribs were on a pile of fries and they were great. My friend had Brussels sprouts that she said were mushy. Service while we were there wasn’t great, we went a while between being checked on. Atmosphere was pleasant.

Walked in, straight to table. Olde Renovated Cinema, very tastefully re-developed. Server took order, lovely starter, Main course served before we finished starter! Accompanying course forgotten! Dessert excellent! Need to organise their service in line with the customer, NOT the Staff.

Amazing place to spend the evening 💯 Food was delicious, I asked to make me a cocktail and described what I want , the bartender made it just fantastic 💣 I felt realy cared about - everyone was so friendly and nice. Definitely worth to come again and again 👑❤️

My husband and I went for date night and had the best time. Hector was absolutely amazing especially when he made me blue cheese stuffed olives for my extra dirty martini! The food was delicious and the vibes were right for a random date night!

Beautiful and spacious place to dine. My favorite dish was the garlic mashed potatoes. Each of us ordered different dishes. I really did not like the coleslaw because it wasn’t creamy, and the flatbread chicken pizza was bland. The photos look great though.
Linda J — Google review
I had such a wonderful experience at The Majestic Grille! I ordered the steak with garlic mashed potatoes—both were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed two lemon drops, which were amazing. The atmosphere is stunning and unique, with the feel of an old theatre that makes the whole dining experience even more special. Definitely a place I’d recommend for a memorable night out!

I can't tell you how many times I've walked past from this place and never knew of the hidden gems inside. First off, the interior looks incredible, almost out of a black and white movie. The giant movie screen playing old hits may also add to my comparison 😅. We ordered flatbreads and may I say they tasted delicious with the perfect amount of sauce. I would reccomend her for a date spot easily.

Nestled in the heart of downtown, Huey's Downtown is a charming tavern that perfectly captures the essence of relaxation and good times. Known for its mouthwatering hand-breaded onion rings and hearty burgers adorned with bleu cheese crumbles, jalapenos, and crispy onion straws, this spot is a must-visit for food lovers. The inviting atmosphere makes it family-friendly, ensuring that kids will enjoy their time here as much as adults do.
Got the smash burger which was not very smashed, but very good. The burger sauce is a huge winner. Got the sausage and cheese plate to start, and that was pretty yum. Also ordered was a Philly, French Onion soup and shrimp poboy, nothing disappointing! Turns out my son doesn't remember ever eating steak cut fries, and they are served without salt, which I appreciate. The service was really great. They have a bunch of customer testimonies on the wall and lots of character, and I like that. They had a good selection of beers on tap, and a full bar, while still being pretty family friendly. Overall a great place that I'd be happy to return to.

Not such a great experience… Advertised 2 for one drinks , we never got them, then got charged a whopping 18% service charge after 8pm. And all served on polystyrene plates with plastic cutlery . I expected better

Fun decor with a lot of different art and decorative items all over the place. Staff was very friendly and very helpful Ordered fried mushrooms, Famous hurt burger with tater tots. Mushrooms were well fried well. Burger with Cheddar was cooked as expected and as ordered. (Med/Well) Tater tots toasted and went well with burger Overall, a nice place to get a burger and drink. From the time I sat down, ordered and received my food it didn’t take more than 10 mins. This place is 100% worth stopping in for some American classic food

Fantastic service from my waitress. I ordered a Spinach Salad and the West Coast Burger ( double patty) both were good. The burger was amazing! Cooked perfectly! I do have two complaints: 1.) the bespectacled manager brought my burger and laughed when she put the basket on my table that the guacamole slid off the sandwich. It actually looked terrible and maybe a better effort with presentation would have been nice; 2.) both my salad and burger were adorned with a large chunk of red onion. I like eating the sliced onions but those pieces didn’t do anything to make the meal look better or more appealing(see photos).Slice the onion.
Ken C — Google review
Classic Memphis experience with incredible burgers and fast, informal, but friendly service. The smash burger was perfect. Will definitely go back!
Bill H — Google review
The Beyond burger and onion rings exceeded all my expectations for a restaurant that wasn't targeted at all to non-meat eaters. Ordered the food to go and had a drink at the bar while I waited. There were only a handful of people at the place, so YMMV, but it was chill, well air-conditioned, and a good value. The vegan burger toppings were the perfect amount of melty/cheesy/gooey, didn't skimp on the pickles; the 1.5" thick onion rings were nicely breaded, made with red onions, and had a very nice fry.
Nancy T — Google review
Always a great time at this location. Liz makes sure to take care of us during trivia. Quick and attentive service whenever she’s working! Great vibes, and the food is definitely a nice bang for your buck!

Truly great stop and worth the visit. The family enjoyed each of their meals. A "Madison" for my wife, "Nachos" for our chip princess, "Kids Burger" for little man and I chose the world renowned "Huey Burger". I also ordered onion rings. We chose the "Spinach & Artichoke dip" as an appetizer. The server Asia, was great. She was responsive and friendly. If we are in the area again, we will try other items on the menu.

The decor is quite nice - like a 1960's beauty shop with glass walls between the booths. The menu is unique and intriguing. The portions are small and so I recommend you select an appetizer as well as the entree. They may have a children's menu but we did not need nor ask for one. I would not bring young children here based on the price alone. We had the Peach and Pork, Cucumber salad and dessert. There was a lot of time between ordering and food delivery I suspect because the food required more extensive preparation. We passed the time with the Monkey Bread appetizer for the table. The desserts were good and topped off the meal nicely.

We had a wonderful brunch experience here. The food, atmosphere, and service were absolutely perfect — 100 out of 100. The only downside was that some of the tableware wasn’t very clean, so we had to wipe it down ourselves. The dishes were creative and refreshing, with a great balance of fruits and vegetables that made the meal feel like a new experience. We tried four different dishes and enjoyed them all. This was one of the best brunch experiences we’ve ever had, and we’d love to come back to try more items on the menu.

I usually don’t write reviews but this was probably the best restaurant I’ve visited in Memphis. We went on a Sunday around 1:00 and we sat outside. Having the fans at the table was a big help with the TN heat and our waitress was so helpful and delightful. I wish I could remember her name. I ordered the “it hash to be” with veggies and it was the best and most flavorful meal I’ve had in a while. My friend ordered the steak and eggs and her steak was perfectly cooked and so delicious. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Everything was okay. Ordered our food it took quite awhile to come out. It didn't seem to be busy inside as we were seated outside. Although I could be wrong. This was during Cooper and Young race. Our waitress was cool. I wasn't aware that there was an automatic gratuity charge which I don't like. I usually like to tip in cash. My friends lamb chops were ordered to be medium well, they came out medium rare and so pink inside. We really should've looked at the menu before coming.

Dinner here was a highlight of our Memphis trip! Heard that Priscilla Presley used to get her hair done here & that the restaurant kept some of the original kitsch & charm. Loved the vintage-y vibe! The Cooper Young neighborhood was definitely worth checking out; hip, lively, & safe. You won't be disappointed if you order the monkey bread w/dill butter as an app & sip some great cocktails as you wait for dinner. Our entrees were flavorful & had lovely presentations as well. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Memphis!

I tried the evening's special. Ribeye steak with potatoes.. Seasoned well and cooked perfectly. My only complaint no steak sauce (I'm a condiment person) I have to mention the waitress offered to have the kitchen whip some up but I declined, again, it was seasoned well enough on its own.

Chicken Salad Chick is a popular chain known for its wide variety of chicken salads, sandwiches, soups, and sides. Customers praise the excellent food and service, with particular favorites being the pimento cheese BLT and the pesto mayonnaise for croissant sandwiches. The restaurant's cleanliness and attentive team members also receive positive mentions. Some feedback suggests that larger portion sizes would enhance the dining experience.
Kayla at the register was so helpful. She allowed me to test samples and was very knowledgeable. The options to choose from did get me a tad nervous all bc I had not been there but thank goodness for samples lol. It wasn't packed and the food was fresh. The dining room was interesting but clean. The chicken salad was actually not bad. It wasn't sweet which I hate but like I said you can sample.

Good heavens. Reading through their reviews, I’m glad to note that I’m not the only one with such a bad experience. Pleasant people, pleasant atmosphere, genuinely HORRIBLE food. I didn’t realize a simple dish such as chicken salad could even be this bad. So tough you’ll hurt your jaw chewing the unappealing mess, and there was a weird, opaque hard thing in it. (pic) Plus it had a pronounced soapy taste that scared me! Uniquely bad food. I threw it out.

First time and I am IN LOVE WITH CHICKEN SALAD CHICK. Even my 21month old enjoyed it. Everything is amazing the salads, sandwiches, my favorite soup is the potatoe soup but I love their chicken soup as well... can't say much about their spicy items because I cannot have them but everything else is amazing.

Ok, I was really surprised at this one. I am not sure where they get their turkey from. It was the worst turkey sandwich that I have ever bitten my teeth into. I can't even explain the flavor of thus turkey meat. I didn't even finish my meal. I also had th potato soup. The potatoes could have been cooked a little bit more. For me, I like my potato soup simple. This potato soup had a lot going on. It had a nice e flavor to it, but I couldn't eat it either. The cashier was very pleasant. Signed: A chick looking for the flavor

Definitely the cream of the crop in the quick casual restaurant category. This is not fast food....but it is GREAT food, served fast! The menu offers a dozen or so varieties of chicken salad. The Fancy Nancy is my favorite. Pair it with a cup of soup and you have a winner! The potato soup was some of the best I've had. Service is quick and FRIENDLY ( rare combo in Memphis ) and restaurant is clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Great choice for lunch or dinner!

Great variety of chicken salad to choose from. You can get scoops, sandwiches, soups to choose from. Cute names for the different types of chicken salad like Fruity Fran, Fancy Nancy, Sassy Scotty just to name a few. Very friendly staff. Gets real busy during lunch so you have to bring your patience. It's worth the wait. I would definitely recommend this place. Come check them out.

This restaurant is delicious! Who in the south doesn’t like chicken salad? Chicken salad is my most favorite salad, I could live on a diet of chicken salad and pizza. Chicken Salad Chick did not disappoint; I ordered the Olivia’s Old South BLT. Can I say OMG! Then as a side they let you pick another chicken salad flavor, I chose Classic Carol. It was great too. They have 12 chicken salad flavors to choose from, pimento cheese, soups and salads. The service was fast, however there was a line when left, but it was moving quickly. If you’re in East Memphis, or travel from Collierville like I did, this is a must stop for a good chicken salad

Would have been good if they would have put more chicken salad on the bread. Felt like it was a bread sandwich. Spent 46.00 on 2 sandwich meals. Didn't get the 2nd side and the sandwich didn't have much chicken salad at all. Couldn't even taste what little was on there. Definitely won't order again. What a waste of money.

This salad was so huge and fresh. Worth the money. And didn’t miss any of my add ons. Definitely will order again. And it was tossed with vegetables all the way through instead of just on top. That’s the best part and freshness!

The quality at this place can be hit or miss—some days are excellent, while others fall short. Today, I was concerned about the cleanliness when I noticed several flies landing on the salad toppings. I recommend that they use covers on all their toppings. Additionally, the salad was unevenly chopped, leaving large chunks. The picture illustrates one of the flies resting on the dried onions.

Ordered the "Can't be Beet" salad and it is delicious! Very large salad full of Spinach, avocado, beets, craisins, feta, mandarin oranges & walnuts. I added a protein of salmon and Honey Peanut Butter Vinaigrette dressing on the side. Loved every bite!! Large enough for 2 meals, maybe 3! I ate as much as I could for my lunch and have more than half leftover for dinner tonight! You should definitely check this gem out -- off the beaten path in Cordova near Germantown Parkway and Dexter. Great for takeout, order ahead online and they will have it ready for you when you get there. Hours are limited right now... I think they close at 6 on weeknights and aren't open on weekends. But definitely worth checking out! I will be back!!!!

Barbecue restaurant
Central BBQ - Downtown is a popular eatery in Memphis, known for its inventive meat dishes such as BBQ nachos, pork sandwiches, and brisket platters. Located across the road from the National Civil Rights Museum, this location is just one of five across the city. The restaurant opens from 11am-9pm seven days a week and tends to get busy during lunchtime with queues out the door.
(Post from Aug 4th) A quick Google search for “best BBQ near me” led us to Central. Must say that it did not disappoint. Enjoyed delicious bologna and brisket sandwiches for lunch. Ordered slab of ribs for later — which were delicious even at room temp. (Didn’t even warm up in the microwave)
TB T — Google review
Coming from Texas this wasnt bad bbq! The bbq was pretty good, their bbq sauce was awesome- we put that thang on everything. Definitely worth a try. We had the sampler appetizer each as our meal and that was a great choice, had a little bit of everthing and very filling. Really enjoyed the chicken slider and pulled pork nachos. Staff was very kind with that sweet southern charm. Took the food to go so I can’t really say too much about the ambiance but looked really laid back and casual. Cute rustic decor. Parking was easy with the parking lot in the back

First, for reference. I travel for a living and eat wings 3 to 4 times a week alll over America. Wings - TREMENDOUSLY GOOD. Seriously, these are some of the best smoked wings I've ever had. I just got them dry rubbed with Jamaican jerk. Ribs- Excellent, inside was very moist. The outside was a little overdone for my taste though. Brisket - OK.. it lacked the smoke flavor it should have had. Onion rings - They dont make these in house, they were average. Both sauces were very good. When I come back I will probably just get wings...but I may try the pork or chicken.

Very conveniently located adjacent to the Civil Rights Museum. I had high hopes, but unfortunately, the food let me down. I’ve ate 4-5 other barbecue places while in Memphis, and this is by far my least favorite. I only ate half my pork, and that’s usually my favorite part. The service seemed fine. The atmosphere was good. I would not return here

Skip this one. The greens were great & the meat was smoked well. Everything else sucked horribly. Very plain sandwiches. No sauce, no slaw... but asked for slaw, paid for slaw. Flies, gnats, bad service. Was told to stand here, not there, no here, not there, go here, sit there.. and it was hot. They don't believe in AC or pest control. Sauces were boring & no better than mcdonalds. They literally put all the sauce around the outside to make it look like they gave a damn. It was all over the paper they put your food on. Bun was dry. They wanted a tip but never came to see how we were doing, that we got what we paid for, or cqre how bad we were all sweating. The sides SUCKED (aside from greens). Potato salad was very vinegar forward and not good at all.

Coming from a Texan it ain't bad. Portion sizes were large. Meats -Ribs were the best. Normally not a rib guy but credit where it's due. It was good! -Pulled pork was tender and well shredded. Could've used a tad bit more seasoning -Brisket. Mine was dry. Not pleasant. Sides -Mac N cheese was solid. -BBQ Baked Beans were average but good Next time I'd try other meats and stay away from the brisket.

I visited Central BBQ’s Downtown location specifically hoping to try their much-talked-about Banana Pudding. The location itself has a great vibe right in the heart of downtown, casual and welcoming with lots of foot traffic and a steady stream of customers. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, they were already sold out of the Banana Pudding! Clearly, it’s an incredibly popular item and tends to go fast. The staff was friendly and helpful in letting me know about availability. I’d definitely recommend coming early if you’re specifically looking to try their desserts or signature items. I tried their coconut cake and chocolate cake. My hunt for the Banana Pudding continued at another location, but the Downtown branch itself definitely has a fun atmosphere and is a great option if you’re exploring the area.
Sahaj P — Google review
Central BBQ is a busy, buzzing spot — thanks in part to its prime location near the Civil Rights Museum. Expect a bit of a wait to order in, but honestly, you’ll need that time to scout out a table, grab a drink, and settle in. I went with the starter sampler and wow — this tray was loaded. If I had to rank the hits: 1. Pulled pork sandwich 2. BBQ Nachos 3. Smoked wings 4. Sausage Massive portions across the board, and the sandwich sizes looked just right for most appetites. The venue itself is big — lots of space and seating — and the vibe feels more like a Texas BBQ joint than some of the other Memphis spots I’ve visited, which gives it a broad, approachable feel. Delicious food, unbeatable location, great service, and fair prices. Definitely worth the stop — especially if you’re coming from or heading to the museum next door.

Thanks Britt for recommending this spot. My eyes popped out while reading the menu!! I wanted to try EVERYTHING. I ordered the duck quesadilla and an al pastor taco. LOTS of food - just one triangle of the quesadilla was heavy, full of meat and bigger than the whole taco. FLAVORS WERE AMAZINGLY FRESH! Dang this was good. Didn't expect these in-house made chips either! They were very good (especially with lime) but I think they should be served with salsa... or SOMETHING. Overall, I spent $24 before tipping. I would DEFINITELT go back. ❤️

Visited this place on good Friday. Its always crowded but this time it was not. Walked to the hostess podium the hostess was assisting another couple she didn't speak or address us. She came back from seating them still didn't address us but waited until a group of Caucasian people stepped in to address them then only speaking to us when the people she addressed looked at us. I was tempted to just not even stay but it was my Birthday so I wasn't going to let anyone ruin my day. The waitress was very nice and polite suggested her favorites on the menu. The food was okay the drinks were okay didn't taste much alcohol. For the place to be crowded regularly I expected top tier food and drinks.

Nice place. Really cute! I got the Honey Shrimp and Steak on the stick. The dishes are well presented..so cute and really good! Only thing I can say is the Brussel sprouts were alittle overcooked but the potatoes and steak were really good. I also had the Guava Rita, super good with the pink peppercorn! They do have outside seating on the backside by the bar.

Dined in for lunch today. The food was not worth the price and we unfortunately had bad service as well. I ordered a Cobb salad and was brought the wrong salad, which isn’t a big deal, but I sat and waited for over 20 minutes for the correct salad to be brought over. It seemed like our waitress forgot about our table. Everyone else at the table was done eating by the time I received my correct salad so I had to put it in a to-go box - it ended up being wasted as we had plans following lunch. The waitress seemed to not care in the slightest. When we were brought the bill they had charged us for two salads so we then had to wait for a corrected bill. Would not recommend! For this price point there are many other better options.

Ate at this restaurant for lunch during a trip to Memphis. It's in a good area because there are other shops around that you can visit before or after your meal. I like the restaurant's layout and they have inside and outside dining areas. The service was good and the staff I encountered were all friendly. I ordered the tacos and rosti potatoes. The tacos were good but a bit pricey for what you actually get. The potatoes were great and I would recommend them if you visit. It was a good meal and I would eat here again if I was in the area.

My partner and I have been eating at Babalu for many years because of the great atmosphere and delicious food. Because of our previously great experiences, we decided to host our graduation party at the Overton location on the patio. Overall, the actual event went well, but not without some serious issues with management during the planning stage. I started planning around 5 months in advance to make sure everything went smoothly, which did not help at all. It was incredibly difficult to get in touch with Babalu during this time, and they were initially sending correspondence to the completely wrong email address for weeks. There seemed to be no communication among the management due to confusion when talking to different managers. There were many times that a member of the management team did not know or remember our event date, time, location, or catering choices. At one point, someone told us we wouldn't be allowed to serve alcohol on the patio because after much correspondence, they STILL thought they were catering an at-home party. The whole experience was stressful and incredibly frustrating. They did not give a quote for the cost until a few days before, and when we checked on other details the day before, they had many things written down completely wrong. During the actual event, we had a singular waitress for over 20 people, and were not given appetizer plates. We had to beg for napkins other than the few cocktail napkins that were provided. I will never host another event at this location due to these frustrations.

I stopped by Babalú Latin Restaurant and was served by John and Brady, who made the experience feel effortless and welcoming. I tried the Lavish Lemon Spritz, which was light, crisp, and perfectly balanced with citrusy brightness. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, the service is top tier, and the cocktails are worth coming back for.

Babalu has been my favorite restaurant for 10 years. I actually worked there for a couple years then continue going to eat regularly for the past decade. I get the same thing pretty much every time- shrimp tacos & rosti potatos. So, I went this weekend and was pretty disappointed to find that they changed the recipe for the shrimp tacos. They used to come with cilantro slaw, comeback sauce, & Cotija cheese- a perfect recipe. They were delicious. Now that the recipe changed, it did not sound appealing at all so I decided to order something else. I got the steak on a stick because it’s served with the rosti potatos. I was with a group of 5 people and it took over 40 minutes for our food to come out which was weird because it was a Sunday evening and not even busy, but we were chillin & drinking so it was fine. But then when the food did come out, I was again pretty disappointed. 2/3 of my steak skewers were good, but one of the skewers was nothing but super fatty inedible meat. And the rosti potatos were the driest I’ve ever received after probably 500 trips to this restaurant over the past decade. I asked for some extra teriyaki glaze for the potatos and was brought some sort of sweet & sour sauce instead. Also, my friend tried to order 3 separate drinks that were all out of stock. Our waitress was nice, but overall this was by far the most disappointing dining experience I’ve ever had here. My friends enjoyed their food and maybe I was a bit more critical because I expected the dining experience I’ve always received here. Anyway, unless they bring back the old shrimp tacos & the comeback sauce, I probably won’t even go back again which is super sad for me.

Folk's Folly Prime Steak House is a Memphis original, offering a refined dining experience with personalized service and top-quality food. Since 1977, this steakhouse has been known for its prime steaks and seafood specialties served in an elegant white-linen setting. The restaurant prides itself on providing prompt, efficient, and friendly service to enhance every guest's evening.
My husband surprised me with a private dining experience at Folk’s Folly for my birthday and I loved it. Our waitress Corinne was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent, and the food was amazing. The ONLY thing I can say is that the mashed potatoes were a bit dry and bland, but aside from that my calamari, steak, lobster tail, green beans, and literally everything else was 10/10. Also, my husband said that private dining isn’t at any additional cost, you just have to call to reserve.

I recently took my husband to this restaurant for his birthday, and unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. His mac and cheese arrived cold, and despite informing the staff that it was a special occasion, we didn't receive any form of acknowledgment, such as a complimentary dessert or even a simple birthday greeting. This was surprising since I've never been to a restaurant that didn't recognize a birthday in some way. On a positive note, my steak was outstanding. I ordered the 'petite' steak, which turned out to be satisfyingly thick and perfectly cooked. The grits were equally enjoyable. However, the king crab croquettes fell short in flavor; while the texture was spot on, they desperately needed more seasoning. The catfish appetizer was decent, but not memorable, and could have benefited from a more seasoned batter. Overall, while certain dishes didn't quite live up to our expectations, the steak was exceptional and would definitely be a reason for us to return. However, given our experience, this wouldn't be our choice for celebrating a special occasion.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted with friendly faces. The room attendant, Dillon, and our server, Shannon, were so attentive. Our food was SPECTACULAR! We had the best night and I recommend FF to anyone!!

We went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The esthetics of this place is both beautiful and delightful. We ordered the NY strips steak mine was medium well and her's was well done they were both seasoned to perfection no steak sauce needed. We had the jalapeno Mac n cheese, green beans, twice baked potato, and broccoli ,also the jumbo fried shrimp. Everything was perfect this was my 1st time there but it definitely want be my last. I would rate this 100 out of a 100 if I could but since I can't I'll settle for 10 out of 10.

We arrived early for our reservation. So, we opted to enjoy a drink in their Cellar Piano Bar until seating was available. The bar staff was friendly, professional, and they worked as a TEAM! Plus, the Wine List had Saldo Zinfandel, a wine we discovered at the Hamilton Hotel in Alpharetta, GA. Every aspect of our Folks Folly dining experience was exceptional! The food (Calamari, Caesar Salad, Medallion Sampler, Desert) were a treat for the eyes (presentation) and palate (flavor profile). That Medallion Sampler is a trio of four ounce tenderloin medallions grilled to order and individually crowned with rich béarnaise, Maker's Mark peppercorn sauce, and bleu cheese crumbles. They were all delicious, but that Maker's Mark peppercorn sauce was AWESOME!!!!!! Greg (our Server) was outstanding! He was personally/professionally engaging and his light-hearted humor definitely enhanced our dining experience!!! My wife is an exceptional cook. So, it takes a lot for a restaurant to impress her. So, I was shocked when she said she wanted to return next week to sample their burgers in the Cellar Piano Bar.

Soul Fish Cafe is a local chain that offers Southern classics, po' boys, tacos, and a selection of beer and wine in a laid-back setting. With multiple locations in Memphis, Tennessee, this eatery serves up unique dishes like catfish tacos alongside traditional favorites such as baskets of seafood and meat options like pork chops. The menu also features delicious vegetarian and vegan offerings including veggie tacos and black bean burgers.
I rarely eat fried fish anymore, but when I'm back in the hometown, this is one of the places I have to always visit. The service is always a reminder of the peaks of Southern Hospitality. The food comes at fresh and surprisingly fast. While also being expertly seasoned. And there's other options besides fried fish....even vegetarian options. But it's the regular catfish plate with a sweet tea/lemonade mix every time for me. Maybe I'll try something different next time.

Stopped by to grab a quick bite to eat before a volleyball tournament. Buffalo shrimp mild were really good! We should have ordered 2! Fried perfectly. Blackened chicken Caesar salad had some great flavor. They didn’t skimp on that seasoning for the chicken! Blackened mahi sandwich (daily special) great flavor just needed some kind of spicy remoulade sauce to tie it all together. Bun was not able to hold up to the juicy piece of fish. Maybe french bread toasted would be better suited. Shrimp po boy disappeared before I could get a bite! So assuming it was good! Sweet tea was amazing! One of the best I have had.

Cute cafe about 3 miles from downtown Memphis, with indoor and outdoor seating. A lot of locals eat here. I ordered the catfish and shrimp platter, fried pickles, fried okra, blackened salmon, and coleslaw. Pros: Food was really good. Shrimp was very flavorful, nice coating. Okra good, blackened salmon, coleslaw and cornbread were my favorite. Cons: the dipping sauce didn’t quite measure up to some of the other restaurants in terms of flavor. They offer vegetable based sides but most were cooked in pork or turkey broth which isn’t accommodating if you are vegetarian. Other than that, this restaurant was a really good experience.

Went in on a Sunday night for dinner. Was able to be seated quickly at a table. They are a bit small on the table size so when the food arrives it’s a little crammed with 4 people at one table. We ordered hush puppies and fried pickle chips to start. Hush puppies were a bit dry and the fried pickles were a bit soggy and the batter was a bit too light on. The soup of the day was gumbo and it was good. We ordered catfish tacos and then a catfish and shrimp plate. All were really great, e tortillas for the tacos a freshly cooked and soft. The fried okra was the best thing in the menu! For 4 people with sodas for drinks it was $105. Was worth it, I enjoyed the food and the service was excellent.

If you are in the area, YOU MUST VISIT! The blackened shrimp salad is to die for! It was so good that we went back the next day whilst staying in memphis for 2 nights. Also recommended is the blackened cat fish, the cat fish bites and the pickled green tomatoes. The service staff are very friendly and helpful and polite . Outdoor seating is available and the restrooms were clean. We initially went for lunch after visiting the Stax museum. We went back for dinner the following day from midtown Memphis. You must go here, as i said, you will not regret it at all. And free Parking on site

The restaurant is somewhat spacious and brightly lit with outdoor lighting. The staff is very attentive and the food is very good. I'm used to getting much larger portions but this is my first time at a restaurant in this area, so I don't know how much is given by others. The price is very reasonable. My only issue is portion size. The Fish and Shrimp order was two small pieces of fish and six shrimp. Amariah was an excellent server. Also, I assumed it was AA owned, but it is not. I enjoyed the food.

Food was good. I had the catfish plate (regular /3 piece) with Mac n cheese and green beans. The catfish was light and seasoned well,Mac n cheese reminded me of Cracker Barrel’s Mac n cheese and the green beans i liked as well. Service was fast and staff seems nice. Atmosphere was open concept and mixed crowd of people from young to old, diverse crowd. I was able to take the plastic cup as well .I would come back.

Lafayette's Music Room is a renowned indoor-outdoor club with a vintage atmosphere that hosts diverse bands every night of the week. Originally established in the 1970s, it played a pivotal role in launching the careers of music legends like Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, and KISS. After nearly four decades, this iconic venue has been revived as a restaurant and live music hotspot in Memphis' vibrant Overton Square.
This was my first time here celebrating my friends birthday and our server Sydney was awesome! The food was delicious the bands were super good the bathroom is GORGEOUS!! HEELLOOO overall the experience was really good and I would definitely go back. plus the city of Memphis is sooo beautiful :)

Fun, energetic atmosphere! Kinda loud in the band/stage area but that's to be expected. We sat outside if it in a covered area with a street view of the Friday night action. Really good food! I had the jumbo shrimp PO boy sandwich on fresh French bread with yummy fries. My boyfriend had a Cajun type pasta that he absolutely loved!

We drove 325 miles to see a show (Edwin McCain) The show was fabulous! He was every bit as good as when we saw him 25 years ago. We will not wait so long to see him again. The food was fantastic. We shared an order of stuffed mushrooms and a pizza. We had a great time. The wait staff was phenomenal. We will be back!

Great live music and decent TVs for sports. Sunday brunch menu is tasty! Tyler the bartender will take care of you well.

I usually freakquent there but I only had one beer and as usual the service was awesome kind of pricey. The atmosphere is very pleasant with a New Orleans vibe. The band was awesome. Joe Restivo and the guys are always great.

Good music, good food, good service! I especially recommend Sunday brunch. I ordered the "Chicken Biscuit Benedict;" the eggs came out perfectly poached, the chicken was crispy with a bit of a spicy kick, and the biscuit was a better than average version in a town that KNOWS its biscuits! All the while, an excellent jazz band played their renditions of the old classics. Now, be aware that the atmosphere is that of a well used music venue; comfortable but not fancy or delicate. I didn't see any Sunday dresses or lacy hats. 😁 There's also a full patio bar which opens into the main room, and some of the "regulars" were a bit boisterous (in friendly way, not "obnoxious," but it can be a little loud. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. After all, what else you gonna do early afternoon on a Sunday in Memphis?

I went here for lunch and the food and service was so great that I went back the next day. Abby, the hostess was very nice and helpful with menu. Today Jennifer was my server and she was so friendly and attentive. They have a live music each evening starting at 6pm. This place is super nice and very spacious; out door seating and 2nd floor. The atmosphere is wonderful. The food is delicious. Definitely plan to visit again when in town. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!

Restaurant
If you're a seafood lover visiting Memphis, the Half Shell is an essential stop on your culinary journey. Established in 1973, this beloved restaurant has become a cultural landmark for locals and visitors alike. With its casual vibe and inviting outdoor dining patio, the Half Shell offers a delightful array of Cajun dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The restaurant's commitment to quality has earned it numerous accolades from local publications, solidifying its status as one of Memphis's top seafood destinations.
Unexpected, but right on time!! Hadn’t been here in years but decided to give it a try. Went here after another restaurant left us waiting for over a hour & 1/2 on a late night search for dinner and it ended up being just what I needed! It wasn’t very crowded so the wait was minimal. Moderate noise level and a bit dark, but not in a bad way. The bar was open with available seating but we took a booth instead. The server was prompt, attentive, and helpful. Our drinks came out quick and were good. The food came in a reasonable time and MAN!!! Oysters were on point, wings were amazing, & the blackened chicken dish was good as well (maybe, minus the stuffing but I’ll chop that up to late night, closing time shenanigans). Overall, I can say it won’t be as long before I return next time. Those wings are calling my name! ((I will add for the sake of full transparency: there was a weird scent as you enter the establishment. Almost made me turn around and leave but maybe that’s just me….))
MidSouth S — Google review
The restaurant needs an interior update. There was a window at the entrance area that was boarded up. I almost decided to go somewhere else because of that, but I went inside anyway. I waited at least 5 mins after entering to be seated. Once seated my server appeared instantly. I ordered oyster Rockefeller with horseradish and lemons on the side, they were grilled perfectly. I had white wine to drink, only flaw is it wasn't chilled.

We have been devoted Half Shell customers for decades, since its original location, now The Belmont. For years, the food and cleanliness were exemplary. Unfortunately, over the past six months, the restaurant has declined dramatically. The first thing that hits you upon entering is the smell, like dirty mops, an overpowering, musty odor that lingers throughout. The women’s restroom was filthy: unflushed toilets, paper debris on the floor, and trash cans overflowing. Service, while polite, is clearly understaffed. Our server was frazzled, forgot items, and was left juggling far too many tables to manage professionally. Most disappointing of all is the Half Shell’s once-famous steak sandwich. For many years, my husband and I have coveted the steak sandwich, and considered it a signature dish; what was once a thick, flavorful steak has been reduced to a thin, tasteless meat patty. And why was the beloved fried chicken salad removed from the menu? I’ve since learned there has been an ownership change—sadly, that explains everything. It’s heartbreaking to see a neighborhood institution we loved for so long become such a disappointment.
Julie B — Google review
Black catfish is my favorite 😍 with the rice and onion ring. Fried mushroom is ok. Wasn't happy to know they charge 18% gratuity after 6pm.
Kisha R — Google review
I will never in my life come back to this restaurant or any of the others. The bartender was rude and had an attitude for no reason. I order 1/2 oysters-grilled. They came out small and overcooked. There was so much seasoning it took away from the actual taste of the oysters. Plus, pools of grease were left in the shell which means this isn't health. Oysters from Whole Foods are better than this. I will never come back here again.
Dee M — Google review
The service was pretty fast, but it was hot in there and it smelled like a retirement home and fishy. Our food came out over cooked but not too bad.
Shemeka S — Google review
Took my grandson to dinner. Just know I always tip at least 20 percent. When check came, I knew it was way more than it should have been. I did not want to embarrass him so waited until I got home to check it over Bottom line, I tipped 20 percent on top of an amount which server had already added an 18 percent to my check without letting me know. This is So wrong. Will never go there again or to the one in Germantown. If they automatically add an 18 percent tip, they should tell you before you add a 20 percent tip.

Maciel's tortas & tacos is a family-owned spot in downtown Memphis that serves up made-to-order Mexican delicacies. The menu features an array of options, including the sublime chicken chipotle soup known as Caldo Tlalpeno and flavorful beef consomme. This casual eatery offers a variety of dishes such as spicy shrimp tacos and enormous tortas. With its fresh and authentic street food, Maciel's has become a standout choice for Latin cuisine in Memphis.
Ended up stopping in here due to another place being closed and I am glad we did. Everything we got was fantastic. I loved the hot sauce. I ended up not liking the Tajín but would definitely get the corn again just without. Staff was nice and was welcomed when we walked it. Has an open kitchen and I love that you can see them cook.

No wonder this place has great reviews. The staff are so nice and welcoming and the food is incredible. Small place on the main drag of Memphis, I believe this is their second location. We were walking by and saw a constant flow of people grabbing food here so we gave it a shot. The street tacos were great and loved the sauce that came with. Got the quesadilla to share and that is more than enough food for one or even two. You order at the counter can dine in or take out. Lots of mobile orders coming in too. They also have outdoor seating in the shade. The menu online said they have lengua but it is only available at the other location. Not to worry, Highly recommend this taco place.
Cee D — Google review
This place is your grab and sit or grab and go spot! Good food but my only comment, the meat gets overcooked. I ordered three tacos: chicken, steak, and shrimp. Shrimp was good but the meats were in smaller sizes which ends up overcooking the meat and you can taste the dryness. Now the guacamole was outstanding!!! First thing I noticed were the chunks of avocado but then it was time to taste and this was amazing!!! You can eat this alone with chips and you are full! I would go back for the guacamole. Guacamole is Valdi approved and definitely a 5 star. Ambience was normal, nothing crazy.

We stopped in for lunch. Recommended by an AutoZone employee who heard us debating about where to grab a bite to eat (Thanks guy!!) The food is delicious!! Fast friendly service and a great atmosphere!! Great prices with perfect portions. One of the best Mexican restaurants that I have been to. Definitely on my list of favs!! CHECK THEM OUT!!

I had 3 tacos. They were good. The Birria with cheese was my favorite. The young lady that took my order was very pleasant. I also ordered the chips and guacamole. I will not order that again. I was surprised at the way they served it (see pic). I could have looked past it had it tasted better. The chips were not the best either. Yes, I would go there again.

Great atmosphere. This restaurant is situated in the main street and sitting by the window on the second floor gives nice views of the main street and the tram line with passing trams/ trolleys. The food was also good. It was tasty and the portion sizes were good. Service, IMO, was average.

Sunrise Memphis, located in downtown Memphis, is a vibrant and spacious quick-serve diner that serves up a diverse range of traditional Southern breakfast and lunch dishes alongside an array of drinks from their full bar. The breakfast menu boasts classic favorites like omelets, egg scrambles, biscuit sandwiches with various fillings, and stacks of pancakes. Notable dishes include the Three Amigos Tacos, the Kitchen Sink platter, and the popular Bi Bim Breakfast.
Absolutely delicious! Such a fun, inviting, warm, uniquely decorated restaurant that screams everything about Memphis. We were visiting from Houston, TX and heard great reviews from this place and were not disappointed. You start by coming in and getting in line to order your food. Once you order, they give you a number and bring your food to you. The staff was very kind and sweet. The food was so good! I ordered the french toast with bacon along with a side of eggs. The french toast tasted like a funnel cake at the fair, soo good! My husband ordered the amigo tacos and those were made with some really good chorizo! Our latte’s were made perfectly with the perfect balance of coffee and sweetness. There’s so much decor in there to see and plenty tables to choose from. Parking was easy, a little cramped but still doable ! They offer a parking lot right next to the restaurant on both sides. Loved our experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Memphis!

Sunrise Memphis is such a lively breakfast and lunch spot that both locals and tourists love. The energy inside is contagious. You walk in, hop in line to order, and then find a seat while the friendly staff, all smiles and full of energy, make the experience even better. Their biscuit sandwich menu is fantastic. I had The Bird and my daughter went with The Usual. The chicken in my biscuit was honestly the crispiest, lightest, most delicious bite I’ve ever had. I’d go back just to order that chicken again and again. The Tabasco honey glaze was to die for, perfectly balancing flavor and heat. The biscuit itself was creamy, fluffy, and full of flavor, and those pickles that came with it? I could have eaten a whole jar. On top of all that, they have a charming Bloody Mary bar with vodka marinating in different flavors. This place is absolutely worth the stop for a breakfast or lunch you won’t forget.

“A Memphis Breakfast Gem You Can’t Miss!” Sunrise Memphis (Downtown) is a must-visit for true Southern breakfast. The menu is huge and full of local favorites, from classics to creative twists. I had the Kitchen Sink (eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, grits, and their signature Sunrise Biscuit) and every bite was flavorful and perfectly portioned. The biscuit alone is worth the trip! The ordering process is easy—place your order at the counter, grab a seat inside or on the patio, and help yourself to coffee or drinks. The food came out incredibly fast and was cooked to perfection, which really stood out. The vibe is casual, welcoming, and perfect for starting the day. If you’re in Memphis and want authentic Southern comfort food for breakfast or brunch, Sunrise delivers big time. Highly recommend!

Excellent breakfast options, a great vibe, and wonderful music! The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to relax, enjoy good food, and start the day on a positive note. I’m visiting from New Orleans, and I loved it so much that I came here three out of the four mornings I was in town for breakfast! Highly recommend!

Sunrise Memphis is a great spot for a delicious breakfast and a fun, lively atmosphere. My husband ordered the crawfish and grits while I had scrambled eggs with plant based sausage, hash browns, toast, tomato, and avocado. He enjoyed an Irish coffee and I had a refreshing cranberry mimosa. The food and service were both amazing. The host, a man in a wig, kept the crowd entertained while we waited, which was definitely a memorable touch. The line moved fairly quickly, and the process is simple: you order at the counter, grab a table number, and your food is brought to you. You’ll need to grab your own water and cutlery, but the overall experience is smooth. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and I will definitely be back for the food.

The atmosphere and service were great. The biscuits with strawberry rhubarb jam were very good. The cheese grits were tasty too. Unfortunately, my omelet was way too salty but, maybe that was my fault for potentially not seeing if it said country ham, which is salty.

Love the laidback atmosphere and service of the bar area, which is open seating at bar and high top tables. Live piano most nights. My go-to is the scallops and fried oysters. Great happy hour food menu.

My favorite appetizer is the butter tasting. I'm a big bread and butter girl, and they change the butter occasionally. I tried the blueberry lemons drop that all the other reviews are talking about and it was pleasant, more on the tart/sour side but a tasty drink. This time I got the shrimp and grits. The dish was delicious. I felt the portion size for this dish was small, but then I quickly realized it was reflected in the price. I would love an option with more, and I don't mind if it affects the cost; the dish was SO GOOD. I was hungry again a couple of hours after dinner. Our server was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. This restaurant has a low-light and intimate seating vibe. It's perfect for a date night or a dinner to catch up with friends. Next time I'm trying the ribeye!

Char hits a lot of high points for a fine dining restaurant. There is ample parking in the nearby area. The atmosphere is dim and cozy with considerate and friendly staff who never let your drink reach empty. There's a nicely sized drink menu and cocktails with plenty of meal pairing options. The food is really good, nothing super unique or "magical" as fine dining goes, but fresh and flavorful. Overall, I highly recommend checking them out for a nice night out/date night. A+

We were there for my friend’s birthday dinner and it was an amazing experience! Our waitress Makayla was EVERYTHING! She was super sweet, very attentive, very informed as well. She made great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. I had the lamb which was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Tamp and Tap is a trendy spot in downtown Memphis that offers a diverse range of offerings. It prides itself on being one of the few restaurants in the area to provide gourmet coffee, food, and local craft beers. The menu features made-to-order gourmet food with an emphasis on quality and freshness. The coffee selection includes classic options like espresso and latte, as well as specialty drinks with Tennessee-inspired names.
The Tamp and Tap is a half block away from the Peabody Hotel. I came for a morning coffee. I had the Açaí Bowl which was good. I had the Delta Eagle coffee drink with oat milk. It was fantastic!! It was dark chocolate with raspberry. Perfect combination on an unusually cold morning. The staff was very nice. Great spot!!

Coffee is good, and the food is bad. Period. The coffee is actually good. I tried a cup of hot mocha latte and it was great. However, I ordered an avocado toast too ( with fried eggs and bacons on top). That was terrible. To my surprise they served two pieces of breads. However, the avocado spread was not good, I doubt if that’s made fresh! The fried eggs and bacons were greasy. As a whole it was not good. However, the coffee was great. The cafe looks cool, with many tables and couches. There’s a paid parking just beside the cafe. So you don’t have to worry about the parking. The have beers too on tap, however, I haven’t tasted. I will probably go back to drink more coffee at this place.

Cool and eclectic coffee shop. Service is good too. They expanded their menu i think cause there were a lot of options for breakfast and lunch. I had avocado toast. It was good and im not a huge avacado toast person. Great meeting spot downtown.

Food, coffee and ambiance was good. I debated between leaving 3 or 4 stars. I ordered the Santa Fe Burrito and asked for avocado which was $1 extra. I got about halfway through the burrito and had not seen any avocado. I went up to ask about it and the cook had a bit of an attitude. She said, “it’s there”. Then I was asked if I had opened the burrito because it could be at the bottom of the burrito. Sure enough, I had maybe a tablespoon worth of avocado spread in the last bite. Overall the burrito tasted good. Did not appreciate paying a $1 for barely any avocado and getting an attitude about it. I also had the hummingbird coffee which was also delicious. A bit on the sweet side so maybe ask for less honey if you want something less sweet

We were enticed to come to Tamp & Tap by another websites promise of a Saturday bluegrass brunch which, sadly, the coffeehouse had phased out. Van Halen on the speakers greeted us instead. Tamp & Tap is a full on coffee house with pour overs, drips, espresso drinks, cold brew on tap and a very nice tea menu – all loose leaf. And the staff was super friendly! I had an Egg, cheddar and English muffin made with Egg whites. Not the best breakfast I ended up having in Memphis for sure. The sandwich was a bit over-toasted…in particular the cheese was over-cooked to the point where you couldn’t really taste it. It was basic and fine. (And made to order in house.) My wife had the Veggie Frittata without the fontina cheese (she eats mostly vegan. It was impressive looking and served with healthy looking greens. It was served upside down with a thin layer of veggies on the top (err, or bottom.) She enjoyed the vegetable layer and found it to be a generous size (and a generous portion of greens on the side.) The pour over coffee was bold and perfect. Exactly what I want out of coffee…not acidic, as strong as I wanted it to be. Hurrah coffee! My wife really enjoyed the peach oolong tea. Kudos to places that serve loose leaf tea! The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived, and we found it to be a generally good and quick alternative to crowded or expensive brunches elsewhere. We also saw a display with good looking pastries, apples and bananas available. And though we didn’t take advantage of it, the “Tap” side of Tamp & Tap” looked to have a good selection of Local Beer (on tap) and bloody Mary’s too. For a drink or coffee, Tamp & Tap seems like a good place to go…even for a quick bite or snack. If you’re looking for a more upscale or unique brunch or meal, it might not be what you’re looking for.

Im not a coffee drinker so maybe thats the problem but my friend and I came here expecting decent breakfast and it was, simply put, pretty horrible and overpriced. I ordered avocado toast with eggs and it was immediately clear that not only was everything on the plate pre frozen (including the avocado!) but it was bland and the texture tough. My friend had a similar experience. All the baked good are frozen and shipped in also, I asked.

Venice Kitchen has quickly become one of my go-to spots since moving to Memphis. It’s the perfect date night restaurant — cozy, welcoming, and always consistent. Every time I’ve been, the service has been incredible. The staff go out of their way to make you feel taken care of, and the food is always fresh and delicious. What I really love is that it feels like a “nicer night out” without being overly upscale or intimidating. You get great quality dishes, a relaxed but elevated atmosphere, and a perfect setting whether you’re on a date or just want to treat yourself to a good meal. If you’re looking for a place that strikes the balance between casual and special, Venice Kitchen is it. Highly recommend!

The S5 is a unique and delicious pizza creation. The crawfish egg rolls are creamy, perfectly seasoned, and stuffed with just the right amount of crawfish. I like to get the house salad with lemon vinaigrette to feel healthy lol. Other things I’d recommend: the lemon drop, southern Cobb salad, creole delight pasta, and fried chicken chipotle tacos. You really can’t go wrong with much here.

It's my first time going. It's a nice small place. I had the Rasta Pasta. It was good and very filling. I look forward to trying different dishes. It's an echo warehouse type of atmosphere, so don't expect a quiet meal. It wasn't bad. The service was also great.

I went to Venice kitchen twice in the same week through invitation. The first time was on a Saturday. It was packed! Please go early, if not, be prepared to wait for 45 mins or longer to be seated. The host will say 15- 20 mins but it will longer. The overall atmosphere was great, but loud. This is a family restaurant. I could barely hear myself talking due to a big table with a baby yelling none stop. The waiter DJ was great and did the best he could with it being busy. I ordered the creole delight. It was good, but a bit salty with the andouille sausage. The presentation was great. The crawfish rolls are a hit. They were really delicious. The 2nd time, I sat at the bar. No line, no wait. The bar had quite a few sections and open bar choices. I ordered a build your own pizza and it was delicious. The portions are just right and the prices are not bad. Overall I give this place 4 stars. I would return.

The food was great! Server was on point. The restaurant was so very loud. Open ceiling restaurants often are, maybe some noise dampening would be helpful. Noticed a lot of dust on the walls and fixtures near A/C vents. Only allow parties up to 8.

New American restaurant
Bar
Loflin Yard is a popular spot in Memphis, offering American cuisine and cocktails in a laid-back atmosphere with outdoor seating. The venue features firepits and serves hot cocktails like hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps and the Mizzus Swiss with coffee, tequila, creme de cacao, and chocolate. Additionally, it offers a variety of seasonally inspired sweets from other local restaurants.
I’ve been wanting to try Loflin Yard for over a year after hearing so many rave reviews, and it did not disappoint! We stopped by with the family, and the atmosphere was perfect for a laid-back afternoon. The chicken wings were a hit with everyone, perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the grilled chicken sandwich was just as delicious. I personally loved the frozen Paloma—it was the perfect refreshing drink to enjoy while taking in the weekend and outdoor vibes (from inside in the AC). The service was friendly and quick, and we can’t wait to come back for another round. Highly recommend!

Holy cow, this place is amazing! Wonderful smoked meat. I have the sausage and the brisket. Also have the macaroni and cheese and true Mexican corn. What a great treat! Also have a huge outdoor area that is fun to hang out in and what room here is that it’s dog friendly. You should come check it out!

First time visitor but definitely won't be my last! Can you say AMAZING ATMOSPHERE!!! This place is just beautiful. Plenty of outdoor space. Corn hole games are also outside. If you decide to sit outside I would say be mindful of the mosquitoes! They were horrible after the sun started to set. I had the chicken tacos, they were delicious although they don't have taco sauce or Salsa to go with the Tacos. Definitely would give this location a 10 out 10 just based on the atmosphere.
Kasheena E — Google review
A chill place where dogs are welcome both inside and out, and the staff is patient even when you ask annoying questions (like whether there’s extra items off the menu—there isn’t). I ordered the brisket salad expecting something forgettable, but it showed up looking composed and tasted fancier than expected! The beer list is short, but they offered a frozen cocktail tasting, which was generous. I chose the least syrupy one, but even that slid into candy-sweet after a few sips. I just stopped by for a little bit while in town, but I would be a regular if I lived in the area!

My american burger didn't have a lot on it! Like a "whataburger or burgerking" size meat inside, one small slice tomato, onion and no pickles or mayo, mustard or ketchup! They gave me two packs of ketchup for my extra charge french fries (only possible to come with potato chips) not of your choice either! My wife chicken wings were close to raw with sauce on them. We both had one alcoholic beverage, hers was good. Place was too expensive for this type food!

This place is huge. I've come a few times with large groups from work. Outdoor ambiance is why you come. Games or TV. Drinks and good food.

You need to make this your go-to hang out spot because there isn’t a better place in Memphis. Especially in the summer and fall Loflin is my go-to spot for an after work drink and their snack options are perfect (but good luck picking just one). If it’s a date or you’re going out with a big group it’s an amazing spot - make sure you challenge your friends to some cornhole

visiting from out of town looking for a local place. this had good reviews and looked nice/fun. got there and no waiter/waitress. im no millenial so when i go somewhere I expect tohave a menu handed to me (not look it up on my phone) and be waited on (not do all the work myself). so when i walk to bar to order for our party (which already has limited menu items to start with) the bartender tells me they have no more mac n cheese which was what my daughter and i really wanted. apparently no cook to order staff working or they didn't order enough ingredients to be able to cook food they list on their menu. not a great experience for visitors to leave Memphis with.

THIS IS THE SPOT! Took my girl for first time and we both loved it and the environment. Waitress was dope too,I don’t drink at all but she helped me with a starter drink lmao ❤️

Came here last year for the first time and it was delicious with great drinks!!! I am back in Memphis and had to look it up again!!! If I lived here I would definitely be a regular here. Everything I have tasted is delicious. The pasta is divine. With a chill R&B vibe and laid back atmosphere you will want to stay here for hours. Let's not forget the drinks!!!! They are master crafted!! I love it here. Try the grape lemontini and the mango tango!!! You will not be disappointed!

1st off this place was great and you better show up hungry. The portions were more than enough. We weren't expecting much but was overwhelming surprised. Our steaks were perfect and delicious best I've had from a restaurant. Loaded mashed potatoes were on point and sweet potato fries cooked to perfection. The service was amazing even though they were packed.

We absolutely love Side Street! The drinks are everything you need in a real stiff drink!!! The food is always so good and fresh. The egg rolls sell out fast so we didn’t get a chance to order them this visit but we have had them many times and whew, they are delicious!! The steak was pretty good and cooked to the perfect temperature. The spinach is seasoned very well! That salmon burger is sooo delicious and definitely will satisfy your appetite. The service is always on point and the bartender is not stingy AT ALL! They don’t open late anymore but that’s the new normal I guess 😩

I have been wanting to come here for a while. My coworker decided to come here to celebrate her promotion and I was excited to finally get a chance to try em out. I started with a Jolly Rancher drink and the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Skewer. No complaints there, drink was strong and tasty and can't say anything bad about bacon and shrimp lol. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Alfredo and added Blackened shrimp. The pasta was good but my chicken and shrimp was overcooked and tough. I could only eat half of it. That was the only downside.

So I wanted to get a quick late-night eat for my parents and the review for this place had high ratings. The place smelled like smoke and the music was extremely loud that even the servers couldn't hear each other. The bartender young lady was very nice. We ordered our food to go because no one answered the phone when we tried to call it in. Picked up the order and I didn't check the order which I should done. The salmon picatta is what my dad ordered and it was a C rating at best. The potato cake was horrible and his salmon was overcooked. His side of veggies were not in the bag either. My mom ordered the chicken alfredo which gets a B rating. The noodles were good but the chicken was tough and it needed more sauce. Overall, my parents wanted to try it but they won't be coming back. But, I say anybody who wants to try them then be my guest.

The bakery prides itself on its dedication to using the best local and imported ingredients to create authentic French pastries and desserts.
Such a cute place with amazing pastries and delicious lunch options. Haven't had the chance to try out breakfast, but it's quickly become my go-to spot for Sunday lunch. Staff are friendly and kind, to boot. Can't wait to go back 🥰

The security was very friendly here. We also ordered Pumpkin Bread Pudding and Cinnamon Roll which i haven't tried yet. Would I come back? No, sorry to say. Nothing that makes me go Wow this is amazing. I love looking for local restaurants and trying places. That's a perk for being a truck driver.

*** Check this place out!! *** This was a fun experience for us.....food was really tasty, and the atmosphere was super cool. Far exceeded our expectations. First off - the place is clean and the staff was super friendly. I had some questions that were answered by the cashier, the server, and even had some help from the expo. You can see into the kitchen and it looks clean and well organized. We did not order from the bakery but our sandwiches had baguette, and croissant. I had the French Dip - it was very good, and the bread was ON POINT. My wife had a sandwich and she really liked it. My son's split a quiche. The quiche was good and the crust was excellent.! Thanks and for sure, I will see you all again.

Refreshingly simple and very good! I stopped by this long-standing institution today to pick up some chicken salad and egg and olive salad for sandwiches. What an incredible new layout. It’s been a year or so since I’ve been here, but it has the same friendly, quaint feel and atmosphere it’s always had. The bread, soup, and freshly made sandwich spreads are wonderful. The expanded section has added capacity and the store can handle even more sit down and walk up customers. Plus it has an outdoor patio area to enjoy as well. Love the changes and the staff was friendly as always.

Fake, the decoration almos resembling a french cafe, but the food is not even near to that. the coffee machine was not working. The tomato soup had a a very runny consistency, like if it was a waterdown tomado juice with italian spices. Very dissapointing. The quiché was too dry. They spilled the tomato soup and still served me the plate with the spilled soup on it... that is basic.... if they dont take care of this little details that says a lot of the business. Disappointing experience
Lily P — Google review
The food is still pretty good, made a $85.00 order today and was disappointed there was no bread with the soup. This has happened before and today I called and asked if it wasn't included anymore? The person who answered the phone said they had recently decided to include it but maybe the staff did not know...(although when you order online it says it is included). Been coming to this restaurant 25 years.....and a few slices of baguette went perfectly with the tomato soup.

French bakery in Memphis area. I visited today to get some breakfast. The French onion soup comes with some slices of baguette. That was fantastic. The croissant was pretty good too. But the best one was the chocolate tart. I asked for another chocolate pastry, however the server lady misunderstood and gave me another one which I discovered after coming home. The chocolate swirl on the tart is made up of real chocolate. It’s not too sweet and tastes very good. I will again go back to try some different stuff. Don’t miss this place, if you are around. They have huge selection of cakes and desserts. Update: I visited on Sunday, in the morning to grab some quick breakfast. There was nothing much available except croissant sandwich and stuff in the counter. We ate a croissant breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon. It was decent, nothing over the top. The regular coffee was very basic and underwhelming. The lemon tart was also pretty decent. In my next visit I ate the quiche and chicken salad sandwich. The quiche was very filling and tasty, whereas the chicken salad was underwhelming.

Moroccan restaurant
Restaurant
Casablanca @ Madison is a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant with locations in Midtown and East Memphis. The restaurant offers traditional and vegetarian-friendly dishes, including falafel, hummus, grape leaves, baba ghanoush, grilled chicken kabob skewers, lemongrass tofu, Egyptian hawawshi, pita french fries, and grilled chicken salad with phenomenal dressing. It's known for its Moroccan tea and homemade hot sauces.
We got Casablanca to cater our wedding. They were incredibly easy to work with, the food was delicious, and the portions were extremely generous. Our guests absolutely loved it and were coming up to me all night to ask where we got it from. I know everyone talks about how great of a restaurant they are (very deserved) but their catering rocks too.

If the platter with the lamb shank (bone in) is always served this moist and tender, I will come back here multiple times a month. I give the lamb shank 5 stars. The seasoning that it was braised in was awesome. Very worth trying. Other dishes we tried were about 3-4 stars for this type of food, but we will be back for the lamb shank again and to see what other surprises are on the menu. Menu prices are very fair! Oh make sure to try the tea! So freshing and relaxing.

The restaurant gave comforting vibes on a rainy Saturday evening. There weren't many people in the place. Our waitress seemed very distracted and didn't give us good service. I tried getting her attention several times, but she never looked our way. There was a young male server who finally came over to help us. The food was absolutely delicious and they were huge portions. When paying the bill I gave the waitress cash, and she shorted me $10. I would definitely go back, though, for the food.

Casablanca has always been reliable - but the kitchen expansion was definitely worth it, especially with the new cafe they recently opened inside. The refreshers are a great cool down in these hot days, the espresso is smooth and well-balanced, and the traditional Yemeni coffee has a rich, authentic flavor - even if you're not a coffee person, you'd enjoy it. Food-wise, it's the same quality you expect: flavorful, fresh, and consistent. Service is fast, and the overall experience just feels more complete now. Definitely worth checking out.

I recently purchased a couscous dish, which I typically enjoy, and the experience was, regrettably, subpar. The portion size, relative to the cost, was smaller than anticipated and did not offer adequate value. Additionally, the accompanying sauce was insufficient. Based on my experience with couscous, including its cultural significance in Algerian cuisine, the overall experience was disappointing. Consequently, I will not be ordering couscous from this establishment again, as the value proposition was not met. Please refer to the provided video for additional context.
Riadh B — Google review
The only positive thing I can say is the food was edible. The spanakopita had been over heated in the microwave and phyllo dough layers were soggy. My moussaka (pictured) was over heated in the microwave that the beshamel sauce was stuck to the inside of the bowl. They added some sauce to hide the fact, with undercooked chickpeas and potatoes. The lamb in my boyfriend’s lamb chop sandwich was warm on the outside and ice cold on the inside. The ginger, sage, mint tea was sickeningly sweet. The food was edible but of very poor quality. Our table, along door knobs were sticky. Not sure if from poor cleaning or over use of cleaning products. I will not be back.

Restaurant
Bog & Barley Irish Pub is a must-visit spot with top-notch service and amazing food. The scotch egg with mustard sauce and fish and chips with delicious tartar sauce are highly recommended. The unique take on traditional sauces adds to the dining experience. The atmosphere is cool, and the customized ink topper for beer adds a fun element. Visitors enjoyed cocktails like the Empress of Ireland, which offers a delightful mix of gin, fresh berries, and Prosecco.
My husband and I came here for lunch. It was our first time in this restaurant. Another friend had made a post about it, and it peaked my interest for a couple of reasons. I love a good Irish pub it looked beautiful from the pictures I saw. When we walked into the restaurant, it did not disappoint! The bar area itself is really eye catching....gorgeous woodwork, nice back lighting, and tall ceilings. A huge variety of all kinds of whiskeys. As we were led to our table, my eyes were inundated with all the cool decor in this place! I loved it and thought it was all so pretty! There is much to take in! We were seated at a table sort of in the back, in front of tall bookcases filled with all sorts of interesting items! Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink order. A glass of wine for me and a drink called The 442 for my husband. They have a good menu and I decided to go with a chicken curry dish with jasmine rice and a wedge salad. I love a good wedge salad, and this one did not disappoint! So good! My husband ordered the Fish and chips and said it was very good. He is kind of picky about tartar sauce, and said this one was very good. Our server, Diego, was attentive and helpful. I asked him about the upstairs area and what was behind some velvet curtains I saw. He said we could go upstairs and look around, if we liked, so at the end of our meal, we did. Another beautiful space! Behind the curtains is a private dining area, which we also had a look at since no one was in there. Very nice. We enjoyed our experience at the Bog & Barley and think you will too! Go in and give them a try! Sit at that beautiful bar and have a drink. It's a cool place.

Amazing place! Loved the atmosphere. There was live music and even though it was a busy Saturday night, we were sat immediately. Lots of space. The food was great! We had the roasted chicken, 8oz filet, mashed potatoes, and duck fat chips and loved all of it! The auld bog draft was also good as well as the Guinness chocolate cake. Our server, Gavin, was so delightful and gave us a great experience. He even fixed our table because it was a bit wobbly. Will definitely be coming back!

We enjoyed our dinner at Bog and Barley. We decided to go early, around 4:45, to miss the rush and had a great table by ourselves in the Garden Room. Service was fast and friendly just what we wanted from our server. We ordered drinks, a couple of appetizers, and a couple of mains that we shared. For the most part the food was spot on. We ordered the scotched egg, the smoked fish dip, fish and chips, and the corned beef Rueben. The only thing I would say would be that the corn beef had an unusual flavor not typical for a rueben. The rest of the food was good with a special shoutout to the smoked fish dip which was excellent. We will be going back..

Always great with a good beer and whiskey selection. I love that they have Guiness and Smithwick on draft. Make sure to try the duck fat fries as well. Also you can't go wrong fish and chips. The Scottish salmon is also excellent. But make sure to save room for dessert and the bread pudding.

Bog & Barley is the spot to hang out when in Germantown. With plenty of seating, large parties can come in for dinner and catch up with friends and family over a drink and watch the game. The menu is extensive, offering appetizers, salads, seafood and British fare. Isaac, our server, and other waitstaff are extremely friendly. The desserts read really delicious with the Irish coffee and cream ingredient, but tasted quite mediocre. I'd skip on dessert next time, but definitely will come back to try other entrees whenever in Germantown.

Modern European restaurant
Libro at Laurelwood is a must-visit for geeky couples and avid readers who enjoy dining. It's the in-house restaurant at Novel Memphis, one of the trendiest bookshops in the city. The restaurant offers a relaxed and intimate ambiance, providing a perfect balance to the bustling atmosphere of Memphis. Their Brussels Sprouts Salad with roasted garlic vinaigrette, dill, and toasted walnuts is especially recommended for winter.
My first time! I sat at the bar. Taylor (the bartender) was absolutely delightful. Jermaine (the cook) came out to ensure that I was satisfied with my food! Libro is a bit pricey, however, the food and cocktails are amazing! I had the house rose’, the salmon salad, a dirty martini, and the Oreo crust cheesecake.

My first time here for brunch. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and my friend ordered lobster Benedict. All were great!! I do not recommend the tiramisu. It was too dense and overwhelming sweet. The coffee depth isn’t there.

My friend and I were hunting for a dinner spot, and she suggested this hidden gem—tucked inside a super cute bookstore (yes, you read that right). We went on a random weeknight and wow, it was buzzing—full house, lively vibes, and cozy corners. Loved the bookstore too, totally got distracted flipping through shelves before dinner. We barely snagged a tiny table and skipped apps—straight to the mains. I went with a deli-style sandwich served with fries. She got the fried catfish with coleslaw. Nothing groundbreaking, but solid comfort food. Now, the dessert… Tiramisu. Big nope. It showed up all cracked and messy—apparently the last slice—and it was way too sweet. We didn’t even finish it, which says a lot. Overall? The food was decent, but the real star was the vibrant, bookish ambience. Would I go again? For the vibe—absolutely.

I dined here during lunch a few days ago and had a great experience! The staff members were very friendly and welcoming. We were there around noon on a Friday. It was busy, but the wait time (about 20 minutes) was very reasonable considering how busy they were and since we did not have a reservation. I ordered the crab cakes and a side house salad with bleu cheese dressing. The crab cake was wonderful! I highly recommend Libro at Laurelwood, and I look forward to dining here again soon!

I requested a seat on the patio and was seated immediately. My server was friendly, attentive, and quick to take my order. Restaurant
Paradise Cafe, situated at 6150 Poplar Ave., is a beloved family-owned deli and vegetarian spot in East Memphis. The menu features an array of sandwiches, salads, and soups that have garnered praise from visitors. Customers particularly enjoy the pimento cheese sandwich on marbled rye bread with fresh toppings like lettuce, tomato, cucumber, shredded carrots, and alfalfa sprouts.
While vacationing in Memphis, I came across this establishment, which I learned has a renowned lunch menu. I opted for a chicken salad sandwich on croissant, which was delectable. They also offer exceptional soups, with my personal favorite being the baked potato soup. Their homemade cookies, particularly the peanut butter variety, are simply divine. Therefore, if you are seeking homemade soups and sandwiches, Paradise Cafe is the place to go.

This is a neat family-owned restaurant, similar to McAlister’s (but better). The owner Robert was super friendly, along with the other staff helping us with everything. Food was great and was served swiftly for a Friday at noon.

A family-owned lunch place in the East Memphis area is a rare find, and this is a very nice and efficiently run one at that. I opted for the pimento cheese sandwich on marbled rye bread, with all of the default toppings. These included lettuce, tomato, cucumber, shredded carrots and alfalfa sprouts - which all tasted fresh and paired well with the rye and pimento. My only criticism? The layer of pimento cheese was skimpy - especially compared to the heaping of other toppings layered into the 'wich. Had there been double the cheese it would've been perfectly balanced. Next time I'll request extra. Also of note, a bag of chips is included for the price of the sandwich - which was a modest $7.29. Beverages are extra. A great value for the area - and will definitely be returning.

Food was good but for $17 I had a thin layer of chicken salad and I got a water. Fruit was fresh and good, but I think when you order a chicken salad sandwich, you should have enough protein on the sandwich to feel like it was worth the money.
Andrew — Google review
One of the best longtime local delis in the city. They have a unique touch to their menu items like the sandwiches come with sprouts and shredded carrots. The curry Walnut chicken salad is my favorite but they have many great options. The potato salad is another top pick. I wish they also had the original version with chives (just in case the owner is reading) but the coarse grain mustard and bacon version is great too. Their strawberry soft serve is a crowd favorite. A small cup is like a light palate cleanser at the end of lunch. They also use it in shakes and smoothies. There are usually two soup options every day. I love to stop for lunch when the weather is good and soak it up on their patio.

Love this place. The chicken salad sandwich is the best in town. Also they use to have this fruit dip that you could get when you ordered fruit as a side...omg it is just the best I have ever tasted. I could just make a meal out of it. Please bring that back full time. Highly recommend paradise cafe for lunch. Everyone in there is just really nice. Just ate here again today, tried the butternut squash soup and it was the most incredible soup I have ever tasted. Wish they were open for dinner.

Wolf River Brisket Co. is a must-visit destination for food lovers, offering a delightful blend of flavors and textures in their dishes. One standout option is the Salmon & Brussels Salad, featuring smoked salmon atop a bed of kale and Brussels sprouts, enhanced with crispy bacon, fresh Parmesan, slivered almonds for crunch, and vibrant dried cranberries that add both color and nutrition.
Well this a must stop experience. The menu was expansive with many great options. I would encourage you not to stick to the safe sandwiches which I'm sure are Devine but rather try their amazing salads or entrees. For my visit I ordered a very specific cocktail which was delivered to my request. I ordered the baked brie, burnt ends waffle and pecan cobbler. The house made Carmel sauce for the brie was a smash. Very delicious. Although I had hoped the brie would have been served hotter. I had to use a butter knife to spread it rather than dip my apples in a gooey melted cheese heaven. The burnt ends served on a cornbread waffle served with house made coleslaw. This is what sold me to come back. The slaw is purple cabbage and sweet which complements the tender burnt ends and crunch of the cornbread waffle. The side I chose was a succotash which as a first timer having succotash opened my taste buds to new flavors. I ordered my entree with a side of brisket. Extremely tender and fell apart with a fork. If I had to guess the meat here was slow cooked for 18 hours. I didn't taste much of a smokey flavor but the tenderness made up for any of that. I ended my meal with a peach cobbler. The pecans cooked wonderfully and if I guessed, also used that house made Carmel sauce. Topped with a fluffy yellow cake that did not over power the pecans. This treat is served with ice cream. As I am not a typical fan of ice cream it was served on the side. I made many special requests for my meal and questions about the menu. The staff here was unanimously above restaurant standards. Dining here felt more like catching up with a dear friend and having a host. The atmosphere was simple, clean, and what I appreciate the most, noise appropriate. The patio which I did not have the pleasure of experiencing looked amazing. I would recommend any one going on a first date to go here. Or friends just wanting to have a chill toast and conversation.

The holiday decor was lovely. The portion sizes were small for the price. The food lacked flavor and was quite bland. The server also forgot to bring the drink I ordered, only delivering it after a 30-minute wait.

Party of 4 with Casey as our server. She was absolutely AMAZING! Professional, friendly, great sense of humor and was very patient with our ordering multiple menu items. Casey made sure we were good and didn't need anything, she was very attentive! This was our first visit, and with such great service it will not be our last! Food was good, great atmosphere and wonderful service!

Nice place. Plenty of parking. The lunch menu is affordable. We went at lunchtime and had the lunch special. The brisket slider was good, but not great. Some parts of the meat were tough. The server was good, but they only had one server during lunch.
Richard K — Google review
We sat at the bar, or bartender was very engaging and playful. The brisket came out a little dry and I've never seen shredded burnt ends. But they were very tasty. My coworker really enjoyed the cornbread waffles. The brisket chili was more of a soup. The TVs had sports going. Overall, the noise of the restaurant was not too loud. We could have conversations even at the bar. Parking was easy and there was available space at the bar when we arrived. No need for a reservation This is more of a sports bar that happened to do barbecue. Or maybe they just had an off night.

We had an amazing experience at WBR co. Tonight. We just thought to stop in and sit at the bar while our son was at football practice. First timers and Christy the bartender and our waitress made it certain that we will return, she was absolutely amazing!!! 💯

A cool spot for hanging out with friends, or a casual date. We sat in the outside and that was very casual and laid back. It was the weekend evening and was quite packed. We ordered cocktails and my drink was pretty decent. It was something with tea and vodka, with a hint of mint. It was refreshing. We shared the food. The grilled wings were great. The sampler tray ( with a lots of bbq stuff and a few sides) was good to be shared. The brisket was the best in the lot. One of us ordered the shrimp and grits and it was pretty decent too. However, the salmon was very bland and was not that good; however, we understand that it is not a place for seafood! Overall, it was a good experience.

Carolina Watershed is a unique restaurant and bar located in Memphis, TN. Housed in four fluted metal grain silos, the contemporary round building features a terrace with picturesque greenery and two waterfalls. The decor of the Watershed matches its laid-back vibe, offering an indoor/outdoor experience where guests can enjoy cocktails, wine, and craft beers. The venue also provides cozy seating areas with live music and stage areas for entertainment.
It’s always chilled and friendly when I go here. The staff is very down to earth and inviting. Went for brunch spare of the moment and it was worth it. It’s a growing hidden gem especially with the Turkey Leg menu! There are two outdoor seating areas. However, the back patio is top tier! I haven’t had a chance to enjoy that aesthetic but there’s a waterfall ☺️. They do small events and pop-up shops so food doesn’t have to be the only reason you go! Although the food is very delicious! It’s made it order, super flavorful and always piping hot! Parking is the only issue you may have given it’s all on the street.
Chaz J — Google review
Loved the outdoor space. The space is very versatile. When it is quiet, it is a great place for a date with your favorite person. It is also a cool spot for a social event. We loved the stuffed turkey leg. The staff was also friendly, and they checked back to see how we were doing. I would recommend a visit if you have not been.
A S — Google review
I wanted to like this place so badly, as it's been on my list to try for a while however, it was not a pleasant experience. I ordered the stuffed turkey leg with Mac and cheese and nothing had flavor. I'm not usually one to have to add salt, but even that didn't help. Maybe the food was off because they were extremely busy due to the playoff game, but that's no excuse for subpar food. The mac and cheese was cold as well. They provided the cheapest cutlery possible. Tools that allow you to properly interact with your meal is extremely important and not the place to cut costs. The best thing about the meal were the fries. The turkey leg made me nauseated, and the Mac and cheese was super bland. They charge a mandatory gratuity of 20%, but we had no waitress. We had to wait in a bar line to order. After being horribly disappointed with our meal, I waved a lady down for a to-go box as I figured maybe all wouldn't be lost, and they were out of boxes. I gave the extra star because the lady brought me a bag and she was polite. I usually say worth a try, but I'm sorry, the best thing I can do is provide you with my honest, sincerest review, so you can improve.

Great atmosphere, off the beaten path type of vibe. The waterfall is everything! Food is delicious. My husband loved his stuffed Turkey Leg. The Mac n chz was a little gritty to me and they kinda went overboard on the fry seasoning. But other than that it was amazing. Warning..your bill can get up there pretty quick but its definitely worth it.
Melissa M — Google review
Look I am just going to be honest, I wanted to like this place and my wife said it isn't always like this so maybe this was an off day or something. But we ordered our food and we had several orders of fries, well they apparently ran out of fries (I've never heard of that) and decided not to even tell us the just replaced the with some chips, which wasn't even of equal value 😐. The food wasn't tasty at all and the area was in need of a little cleaning, I mean I know the name has shed in it but come on now....... The staff was nice and friendly but somewhere along the way someone dropped the ball. I probably won't return but it may be a different experience for you.

Food was great can't complain about any of it love the outdoor seating area can be a little loud to try and talk definitely more of a bar atmosphere and the mac n cheese was worth every bite

One of the BEST places I've been to in Memphis!!! Love the outside area, the cook "Red" aka "Free" is honestly one of the finest! That was the 1st time I've ever had a turkey leg made like that and now I don't want it any other way! Street corn was amazing also. Very friendly staff as well 😊

Bhan Thai is a charming restaurant located in Memphis, TN, offering an elegant dining experience with Siamese artifacts and a spacious patio. The restaurant has recently reopened its dining rooms and patios with some delightful changes. It has been a beloved establishment in the Midtown area since 2002. Guests can savor delicious Thai dishes such as Salmon Panang and Chang Mai noodles while enjoying cocktails or cold beer on the lovely backyard patio.
Oh my! My husband got a Facebook post today saying we had been here about a year ago. He said make reservations let's go. To my amazement today was the day they reopened and Oh my God did we have a wonderful time. For advertisers we had the pot stickers and they melted in your mouth. My husband had the salmonAnd I had the chang mai noodles homemade and they were delicious. We set the bar and our service was wonderful our drinks were wonderful. If you've been here before please come back and if you've never been here please come it's an experience that you won't forget.

The food was FANTASTIC!!! I had the Salmon Panang...Grilled fresh filet of salmon topped with a special panang curry sauce. This dish is served over wilted spinach and topped with shrimp and bell pepper. I would have given them 5 stars but the salmon was a little overcooked. Also, no bell peppers but the sweet peas was a great substitute. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the dish and I agreed with the 5 she informed me of (range of 1-10) as it related to how spicy the dish was.
Antoinette H — Google review
Good Thai restaurant in Memphis area. We had Chang Mai noodles and loved them. Food tastes really good here. The disadvantage is that this restaurant opens only in the evenings in the weekend. The napkins were lil dirty, when we asked them to change they did, but the washed ones were dirty too. It would be better if they can use disposable napkins.

Visited this place for a second try. My visit was a few weeks ago. The food was good and rear patio nice but service was lackluster. This I enjoyed good food and great service. I ordered the chicken masaman and the tum kha soup with chicken. Very pleased!

Other then finding parking this place is a midtown gem! We joined some friends for dinner around 6pm on a Saturday night and got seated very quickly. They have a large and kind staff that turn the tables over very efficiently. Our waitress was very kind and had a great sense of humor. We ordered the tofu green curry and raviolis- they were spectacular. With just the right amount of spice and at the perfect temperature, the owners put such detail all the way down serving platter. The aesthetic was just right as well... we sat inside in the middle of the room. Normally we wouldn’t like being in such a high traffic area, but it didn’t bother us at all. I’d recommend one of their craft cocktails, they’re strong and tasty! We will be coming back here again for dates, hangouts, and with people who want to try something a little different.
DJ&GQ S — Google review
All around, this is a very good place to eat. The atmosphere is nice and the patio view is great on a cool day. The food was high quality. I will say, though, that the appetizers are a little bit high priced for what you get (quantity wise, quality is perfect). The Entree I was a great mix of color, texture and flavor (don't forget that signature Thai spice!)

Great food and service! Our evening started with the BA nachos, they were just okay, a bit on the bland side but extremely filling. My husband ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich, he said it was good but had a bit too much sauce. Our guest had the fish and the other, the steak. My friend who ordered the steak had to contain himself from ordering another. He said it was spot on perfect. I ordered the burger but I was too full from the nachos to eat it that day however, my side of fries were the best fries I've ever had! They were so fresh, with a hint of natural sweetness, amazing! I'll come again for the fries alone! The next day I had my burger for lunch and it was so delicious! The meat was tender and very well seasoned, yummy! Our server was very polite and attentive. We'll certainly be back again when in the area and highly recommend giving them a try.

We took a trip to Memphis and were looking for true southern food. From the way Google portrayed this place I thought we’d have a winner but were left short. No oysters 😭 My drink was super strong. My shrimp and grits was missing flavor and were extremely salty. Shrimp was good. He ordered the flank steak and was disappointed by the serving size. The redemption was by far the desserts! We ordered both the peanut butter pie and the deep dish sour cream and apple pie. The peanut butter pie was definitely decadent and creamy. Surprisingly it wasn’t too rich, which we appreciated. The Apple pie was definitely the star! The apples were still firm but sliced thinly, the topping was a perfectly sweetened and spiced. Both press were HUGE! If I have one recommendation it is to go for dessert! Staff was super sweet and I hope they can tweak the seasoning and add to the actual food menus. In the end we did not feel that this meal was worth the $100 price tag.

Great food, fantastic drinks, and even better service. Brent, Rachel, Nikki, and Harold are some of the best in the business. Duane and Justin are the best oyster shuckers I've found. Perfect every time, and knowledgeable on the rotating variety of oysters they serve! I'm here several times a week. TUES-FRI $0.50 gulf oysters 4pm-6pm. And they are better than most gulfs I've had elsewhere. Love this place.

Great times at knifebird! I'm glad it's in the neighborhood, it was perfect for an end of day decompress. I love a chill vibe wine bar. It didn't feel pretentious and the wine options were great. Even on a budget, the house wine is great too. My only negative is that when we ordered the small cheese platter, the chocolate was Banana Flavored! I think that's something you need to put on your menu or tell the customer before you bring it out. Not everybody appreciates banana flavored chocolate but it gave us a laugh and added to the experience. Thanks!

The food was phenomenal, and the setting is just perfect for an intimate adventure out. I highly, highly recommend!!

Great service, wine selection and bruschetta options! Charcuterie boards are a bit lacking compared to other options across the city. Will definitely be back for the easy atmosphere and wine. Parking is also a bit of a headache depending on what time you visit.

Cute little spot in Midtown to enjoy a glass or two of wine and light bites. The customer service was great and I really enjoyed myself. I ordered the “Wine Flight” Sweet Dreams and my favorite out of the three was the Brachetto. I also ordered the Riesling and it was the perfect finishing touch. For food, I ordered the Flight of Bruschetta (tomato, prosciutto, and brie and fruit). The tomato and prosciutto was really good but I didn’t care for the brie and fruit. I also sampled the board my friend ordered and everything on there was good. Overall, I would come back to try out more of the wines and other food options.

The food tastes great and it’s a healthier option for us. The items seem overpriced compared to other health food restaurants in town. The portions are also small. I asked if they could increase the salad size and other item portions, but they remain the same size. The cookie recipes have changed from being soft and rich in flavor to hard and less flavor. I tried to let them know about this, but the recipe remains the same. I also wanted a replacement cookie for the overly hard one I purchased a few days before my a visit and they refused. I can’t immediately return to the restaurant every time a mistake is made, because the mistakes occur often. Hopefully, the new owner will be more receptive to customers’ needs.

I got three soups from Uber Eats when me and two others were starving in the waiting room of a hospital. They looked delicious in the picture and we were so excited to have hot soup. They arrived cold in a plastic bag. We were so disappointed we couldn’t eat the cold soup in a bag. No bowls, no spoons. Too bad it didn’t give us any information about not readily edible, I mean I purchased it under restaurant and not grocery item. Then when we got home I tasted the’ brothy coconut soup. Disappointed! - my soups are so much tastier. Price was okay but the taste and arriving cold gets a two maximum.
