Hôtel Saint-Julien is a charming accommodation housed in a restored 1895 building, located in the Cote des Basques neighborhood of Biarritz. The hotel offers free WiFi and features a courtyard garden, lounge, and a cocktail bar that serves delightful signature creations on its terrace from Wednesday to Sunday. Additionally, guests can enjoy a divine brunch made with local products at Maitre Renard, the hotel's ephemeral restaurant (until September 2022).
This is a wonderful small hotel with the most pleasant and charming staff. They were eager to help -always with a smile. The location is also very convenient. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. If we ever return to Biarritz this is where we shall come back!

We stayed only two nights at the St Julien in Biarritz and it was superb. The most cloud comfortable beds, beautiful hotel and absolutely gorgeous, hospitable staff. I enjoyed my stay immensely. Breakfast was delightful and we loved the intimate garden setting to enjoy an afternoon drink and snack after a big day touring the town. Central to all our needs and just far enough out of the main areas to be peaceful. Exceptional in all respects. Merci
Lisa B — Google review
Charming hotel with a cute garden and newly renovated common areas. Everything is within easy walking distance. The rooms are a bit small, but it doesn’t detract from the experience. Ideal for a couple of days in Biarritz to soak up the city and the beach. The staff is super friendly! I loved that they were proving guests with beach baskets, yoga mats and water bottles for the stay. Little things like these make such a huge differnce :)
Vanessa S — Google review
A wonderful hotel located within easy walking distance (4 to 5 min's) to restaurants and shops. We only wish we had a longer stay. The rooms are delightful. For those concerned with practicalities, there is a lift; the staircase is wide; staff speak English very well, were very tolerant of my clumsy French, helpful for information, maps and recommendations; the room had an air conditioner (a rarity in Europe); there is, however, no small refrigerator, which was no great hardship. Loved the welcome note. 🍷🇫🇷

Quiet little inn that is great for a few days r n r. We loved the decor very French n homey The city is clean and very walkable. There was a mixup between ctrip n the hotel resulting in a street level room without the jacuzzi bath n ocean view that we booked. The shower pan is above the floor and the floor was wet when we got done. We enjoyed the nightcap at the bar/restaurant onsite first time there was no smoker around us
Victor C — Google review
Nice hotel, good central location, very friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with freshly cooked eggs (made however you’d like them) alongside croissants, pan au chocolat, bread, jam, hams and a couple of different cheeses. Also coffee/hot chocolate and different juices. Croissants or pan au chocolat were available throughout the day in the foyer too which was another nice touch. We paid extra and parked in the on site car park (€20/night), which was very useful.
Tim B — Google review
We had a great experience staying at Hotel Saint Julien. We were privileged to try out a newly designed room, which looks amazing. We love the new design because it was easy in the eye and contemporary as opposed to what you would normally find in a typical coastal french hotel. The bed was super comfortable with crisp and clean sheets. The custom sofa was beautiful to look at but also very comfortable to sit in. The room amenities was luxuriously local. Beyond the room, the service was the main draw. A nice friendly smile was the first thing we arrived to and what we remembered as we left. The staff was very knowledgeable in local recommendations. The location was great, very near to fabulous shopping/restaurants and close to the beach.
Mark S — Google review
We stayed a night at Hotel Saint-Julien that was recommended to us by our local friend Charlotte. It was such a pleasant surprise. Love the local vibe of this boutique hotel. Rooms are comfortable and designed with flair. Staff is extremely nice and homemade breakfast was marvelous. ++ it’s walking distance from every attraction in Biarritz.

Nestled in the heart of Biarritz, AMA Hôtel Biarritz is a charming establishment housed in a beautifully preserved 19th-century building designed by renowned Basque architect Raymond Larrebat Tudor. Just a short stroll from the beach and local casino, this hotel offers guests an inviting atmosphere with its vintage decor and floral wallpapers that evoke a cozy, homey feel reminiscent of grandma's living room.
I had a fantastic time here. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful- giving us lots of tips on where to go and what to do. The location is good, a little back from the very centre of the town and beach but within walking distance. Good value for money!

Lovely place to stay, right where you want to be in the centre of town. Small hotel with lots of character. Staff were kind and helpful. A memorable experience.
Peter R — Google review
Lovely boutique hotel right in the centre of Biarritz. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, even provided excellent advice on where to visit and eat out.
Scott B — Google review
Lovely hotel. Kind and willing to help staff. Large rooms. About five minutes away from the beach and also close to everything else so no need for bus or taxis. Would definitely recommend and would book again in the future.
Maayan E — Google review
If you’re coming to Biarritz looking for a little slice of that languid Basque magic, forget the big, sterile hotels with their perfumed lobbies and indifferent staff. Go find Sylvie at Ama Hotel. She’s the kind of host who doesn’t just hand you a room key she hands you the keys to the city. Sylvie knows Biarritz the way a seasoned bartender knows his regulars: every tide pool, every back alley, every café where the coffee’s strong and the croissants still taste like someone’s grandmother baked them this morning. She’s a guide, a confidante, and a reminder of what hospitality used to mean before loyalty programs and laminated welcome packets. Ama Hotel itself? A quiet, stylish refuge. Sunlight pouring in, salt in the air, that easy Basque rhythm outside your window. You’ll wake up feeling like you actually belong here, like you’ve been folded into some secret society of surfers, chefs, and dreamers. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. In a heartbeat. This is the kind of place you tell your friends about, but maybe not all of them. Some things are better kept just a little secret.
Duncan — Google review
Great location in Biarritz. Pretty central. Room was pleasant and aircon welcome. Bed comfy and roller blinds nice and dark. Bathroom had everything you need but incredibly tiny. Knees against the wall when on toilet! Had breakfast for €12 each. Nice bit I would have liked to choose my pastries rather than have one each preselected on our table! Couple of types of ham and some cheese out but not a lot. Felt you had to leave enough for other people. If we hadn't had a long drive that day, think we'd have been better going to one of the many cafes nearby.
Sarah R — Google review
I was in this hotel for two nights in August 2012. The hotel is very close to main facilities, banks, restaurants, and the beautiful beaches of Biarritz. The room is beautiful, clean, and very well equipped. The bed is comfortable. I liked the breakfast, served with free Nespresso coffee. The staff is always ready to help you.
Max M — Google review
It was our first time in Biarritz and Hotel Alcyon was a wonderful place to stay! We were able to get free breakfast for our stay, which was very helpful. Staff was very accommodating also, even providing us with breakfast before our early morning (earlier than regularly scheduled breakfast) departure. Not close to the beach itself, but a very easy walk to the shore. Wifi was reliable, bed was comfortable & the bathroom was great. Like another reviewer mentioned, can get a little loud outside at night but not annoyingly so. Would definitely stay here again!

Hotel
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Biarritz, ALFRED HOTELS - Les Halles is a beautifully renovated gem that features three charming village houses and 35 well-appointed rooms spread across four floors. This lively area is perfect for shopping enthusiasts and offers glimpses of the ocean from select rooms. After an exhilarating day of surfing or exploring the stunning Basque Coast, guests can unwind at "La Gambette," the hotel's delightful restaurant.
The hotel has everything: great finishes, good linens, charm, location, staff with sparkling personalities, and an owner/manager with the foresight to keep working on improvements (he was discussing upgrading the kitchen with people while we were there). The room price was excellent, the underground parking wasn't too far away, there was room at the front door to unload, we had a quiet night's sleep. We were 1 minute away, if that, from the wonderful market! In other words, we loved it!

I stayed in hotel for my Biarritz trip and it was amazing! In the reception there was Zeynep and she was so lovely and professional. I was surprised that I was placed in a nearby hotel building and not in the main building. This was not clearly stated in the description. Unfortunately, the soundproofing is a bit below expectations. Also, I had lunch in hotel’s restaurant, the meal was delicious and the service was very pleasant! Zeynep was serving, she is everywhere
Erik H — Google review
We enjoyed our welcome drinks at the restaurant of the hotel. We'd especially like to mention the Turkish girl – she greeted us with a smile. Thank you for the great service!
Çağla K — Google review
A charming hotel just steps from everything in Biarritz. The place is clean, well-maintained, and has a cozy atmosphere. The service is impeccable, thanks in particular to Zeinep, who is always smiling and helpful. The breakfast is very good, and the outdoor space is perfect for enjoying the sun. We'll definitely be back!
İrem A — Google review
We had lunch at the hotel restaurant, the food was very good. If you are staying at the hotel, I would say don't leave without eating at Gambette. The staff was also very attentive, especially the girl from Istanbul was very friendly.

Small room, no parking and poor breakfast. But the restaurant “La Gambette” is really good! Specially on the cocktails. Also there was a Turkish girl, she was very hospitality.

Nestled in a charming 19th-century villa, Hôtel Maison Garnier offers a delightful blend of comfort and character. This boutique hotel exudes a warm, welcoming atmosphere thanks to its owner Delphine, who has infused the space with her personal touch. Located in a serene residential area yet just a short stroll from the beach, it’s an ideal retreat for travelers seeking both relaxation and convenience.
What a find in Biarritz! Delphine welcomed us into her very comfortable small hotel centrally located and provided excellent restaurant recommendations which our party of four enjoyed during our two-night stay. Rooms are large with good a/c, a good bathroom and plenty of storage space. The hotel breakfast is an excellent value, with fresh-squeezed orange juice, a huge selection of breads and cakes along with traditional sliced ham, cheese, homemade yogurt and fruit. You will be happy here. Thank you, Delphine and staff, for a memorable stay. We hope to visit again.
Nicole F — Google review
Wonderful location, just in the centre of Biarritz; however very quiet and home-like. All is arranged with taste and care. Thank you for the comfortable staying and delicious breakfast.
A M — Google review
You‘ll find the true french boutique hotel located in an old urban villa not far from the market halls and its surrounding little shops, restaurants and bars. All the 7 rooms are renovated and Delphine, the owner, furnished and decorated them in art déco style with lots of love and thought. The breakfast leaves no wishes open. For getting your personal preferences fulfilled, you just need to talk - English is very well understood and spoken. Delphine is a real help, when it comes to the choice of restaurants and reservations, as she knows the food-scene of Biarritz and its surroundings very well. E-Bikes are available for rent, maps and brochures are available in your room and up-to-date. We definitely enjoyed our stay at this little gem and will be back for more!

Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough, impeccable service, beautifully appointed room and a scrumptious breakfast. Our host was accommodating in every request we had, the location was wonderful and the value for money was exceptional. We look forward to staying again.
Síle S — Google review
I really enjoyed my stay at Maison Garnier Hotel, Delphine really made me feel at home, I was staying alone as my holiday group were staying up the road and I really felt safe and looked after in this hotel. Anna cleaned my room each day and it was such a treat. They hotel is very central and very near shops and minutes to the beach, the food market is about 4 minutes walk. I loved my room it was so comfortable and private. I will definitely stay here when I return to Biarritz. Thank you so much for your generous hospitality. Regards Carmel Ryan, Galway, Ireland.
Carmel R — Google review
Words cannot describe what a lodging “find” this was. Great location. The manager/host was more than pleasant and accommodating. There is no parking, but a public lot, with pass provided by the hotel, is only a couple of blocks away. Great shopping all around and many places to eat or drink. Also, the playa is only a few minutes away.
Charlie K — Google review
This was our first time in Biarritz and my boyfriend found this lovely hotel. It was situated in a great location with close walking distance to all the beaches, shops and even more local restaurants in the neighborhood. Everyone in the staff was really kind and breakfast was really great. Highly recommend this hotel! We will definitely be booking it again when we pass by Biarritz the next time.
Bianca E — Google review
A really beautiful boutique hotel. The owner has clearly put a lot of love into this place, it is full of antique furniture, eclectic art, and other small details. The room was clean and comfortable, all the necessary amenities were available (shampoo, soap, even micellar water). Her breakfast was delicious and more than plenty. There was some noise from the street, but that is to be expected, did not bother me. The location is right in the city center. Just so other people know, there is no parking, and city parking is very expensive (~20eur/day if I remember correctly).

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
The Biarritz Aquarium, also known as the Musee de la Mer, is housed in a stunning art deco building and offers an exciting day out for visitors. Inside, there are 20 aquariums showcasing diverse marine life from the Bay of Biscay and around the world. The aquarium features sharks, rays, coral-reef fish, and a Caribbean lagoon. Visitors can witness seal feeding times at the underwater viewing platform and observe sharks up close in a dedicated tank.
Visiting the Sea World in Biarritz was an amazing experience! Everything is beautifully arranged and full of fascinating marine life the place truly comes alive. The aquariums are wonderfully designed, making you feel as if you are diving right into the depths of the ocean. I highly recommend visiting in the evening as well, because the sunsets here are absolutely magical and add to the overall atmosphere of the place. A wonderful experience that is definitely worth it!
Adela B — Google review
Fantastic aquarium, bought tickets online to safe the queue.Loved seals being fed ,one wee naughty one 😆. Well worth the money ,really enjoyed it. Perhaps a buggy park somewhere to save congestion when busy might help .
Susan — Google review
Fantastic aquarium- however we didn’t realise there was no parking at the actual a aquarium (because of where it is located) so don’t just put it into google maps without planning a car park first. The a aquarium itself was really well laid out and in two separate buildings. Some amazing fish and the jelly fish were spectacular. And my kids loved seeing the turtles and hammer head sharks. Also take time to appreciate the amazing art work and how it was created. Would throughly recommend.
Ryan C — Google review
Great museum with lots of fun jellyfish, octopus, seals, sharks and turtles as well as fun fish. Well curated, but a bit expensive at 46 eur for two adults and a kid.
Joachim V — Google review
It was a good aquarium with some very pretty jellyfish and seals. The other attractions were quite interesting too. Missing 1 star because they let too many people in at a time, we were crammed in like sardines.
Bradley A — Google review
The aquarium offers a decent variety of marine life, with the large shark tank being a highlight, providing an impressive view. I highly recommend a visit. However, the seal tank had noticeable algae growth, giving us a cloudy view. The seals are fed twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening, so I recommend timing your visit for one of the feedings to enhance your experience.
Clinton T — Google review
My kid is almost two and he love it! Is not huge is big enough to spend 2 hours on it and is walkable for kids. They have a lot of sharks and spaces to sit and enjoy the fishes. A snack space, seals, turtles and a beautiful view. It was not super full so you can enjoy it with the stroller with not a problem.
Vero C — Google review
The only downside is that they do the seal feeding fully in French. I didn’t understand a single word. But my experience with the place was very positive. Really enjoyed the effort they put into this park. And the ticket price is worth it for sure; even it’s just to see the shark tanks, or hang out with Izar and Charlie.

A romantic place - I went for sunrise and sunset. Loved it. Joggers seem to come to this place in the early morning too. Really windy - so bring something warm.

Nice outcrop from the headland over a cool bridge. Was great the day we visited as it was after a storm so the seas were quite wild and waves crashing along the shore which made it more special. Not much to do there other than stroll out to it and admire the views. As your in Biarritz check it out and walk on from there through the streets to the port and palace beach
James W — Google review
A very nice vantage point to see the miramar beach and plage de la Côte des Basque. Very nice views during sunset. Adventurous swimmer and divers often jump up from here to the sea.

Located near the beach in the heart of Biarritz, Hotel de l'Ocean offers a relax atmosphere with views of the ocean. The rooms have terraces and airy spaces, some with balconies and sea views. There is also a restaurant with a terrace. Some staff do not speak English either Spanish, but this is only a minor inconvenience.
We were greeted by lovely Sophie upon our arrival. It was a pleasure being welcomed in such a friendly manner. We were told that there have been problems with hot water availability so we were offered a room upgrade + free drinks OR help in searching for other accommodations. We chose to stay and were so glad we did. We ended up having hot water and the room upgrade offered us an ocean view. We enjoyed the evening drinks as well. Overall, our stay was perfect - friendly atmosphere, excellent location, clean room with a nice layout for our party of three. Sophie made it especially enjoyable. I highly recommend Hotel de l'ocean.

Location of hotel is fabulous, perfect for shops, bars restaurants and beaches, couldn’t be better. Rooms were small. Bathroom was tiny particularly shower cubicle. I’m only a size 10 and I couldn’t really bend down in shower to pick up my shampoo/condition. Anyone slightly large literally would not fit in the cubicle. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room There is air conditioning Balcony although small was nice to have for some outside space and view of beach was great
Samantha G — Google review
Beautiful location... rooms could use some maintenance... Lovely sport, located in the main square, steps from the ocean. The room was comfortable, but the shower door would not close, and it was apparent it had been in disrepair for a while. Also got briefly stuck in the elevator, when the door wouldn't open. Not totally confidence inspiring. All in all, the hotel is nice, but it could benefit from some maintenance.

Dogs are warmly welcome .I loved the stay . I will certainly be back. Thank you for making my stay a happy time!

Almost a month ago, we went there for a few days of vacation. We got such a beautiful room with a view on the ocean, la grande plage, and the church. The room is small but clean and cute. People in the reception were very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.
Addis B — Google review
Hotel has a lovely location, right by the cathedral and walking distance to everything in Biarritz. However, rooms are very small (especially considering the prices charged) and walls are paper-thin (you can hear everything in the rooms next door). But otherwise a lovely hotel for a quick visit to Biarritz.
Philip C — Google review
The “duplex” at Hôtel de L’Océan is really a damp underground cave with a musty smell so strong the windows need to stay open just to make it bearable. The mezzanine bedroom is cramped, dark, and oppressive, and staff offered nothing more than a half-empty air freshener refill and a shrug when we complained. Other guests have clearly raised the same issue, yet no solution exists. The only redeeming feature is the central location — but for the price, this was a misleading, unpleasant, and disappointing stay.

We got two takeaway pizzas while staying in the area. Ordering online was easy, and the pizzas were ready on time. The standout was the one with spicy chorizo and a base of sweet potato/pumpkin cream. Very savory and delicious!

The pizza is very fresh, well made and was topped with good quality ingredients. I ordered the truffle pizza and I expected the pizza to have much more truffle flavour, so I was a bit disappointed in this. The bolognese pizza was very good. Furthermore, we were told that our order would arrive at 21.30, but it was 20 minutes late. Altogether, we waited nearly 2 hours since we placed the order. We understand the difficult times at the moment and that there may be more deliveries than usual, but the pizzas were a bit cold when they arrived. I would recommend this restaurant, but be cautious with the delivery service.

Experience was brilliant. The 4 cheese pizza I had was very tasty. Staff were friendly and between my French and their English I was able to order with ease. The food was ready in minutes in fact it took lo ger to eat it than it did to cook it.

We were tired from a long trip, we arrive late in our hotel, we ordered Uber eats, I never expected the pizzas to be so delicious. I highly recommend the four cheese pizza. Heavenly!

Nestled in the heart of Biarritz, Hôtel Première Classe Biarritz is an ideal choice for travelers seeking a budget-friendly stay while exploring the stunning Basque Country and nearby Spain. Just a short five-minute stroll from the airport and a ten-minute walk to the train station, this hotel boasts convenient access to major transport links and beautiful beaches. Guests can enjoy complimentary parking, free Wi-Fi, and 24-hour reception services.
Very basic room (as in all Première Classe hotels) and clean but unpleasant smell on arrival. This seemed to dissipate, though, or we got used to it, so became less of a problem. Location was great, just off the motorway, and the restaurant at the next door Campanile hotel was good for dinner.
Keith L — Google review
The hotel is terrible. It's hard to call it a hotel at all, hostels are better. The room is dirty, the location of the hotel is not as convenient as possible, the airport is nearby, it is impossible to sleep at night. The beach is far away. The hotel staff has a strange work schedule. It is not possible to settle in early morning or late at night. We wanted to settle in at 7:00 in the morning, but we were told to wait until 14:00. At this time we arrived but the check-in desk was closed. A few more people were waiting at the hotel door. There was no doorbell, I had to wait for the woman from the front desk to come out to ask her for the key to the door. There are not enough sockets in the room. The bathtub is dirty, not convenient because it is very small. There is no normal light in the room, only two small lamps. Buffet or breakfast was not offered to us, they just don't exist there. There are two machines, one of them has disgusting coffee. There is a TV in the room, but there are no channels. The smell in the room is not pleasant.
Марія О — Google review
Tightly packed rooms with 3 single beds {1 upper bunk, 2 narrow twin beds) and a bathroom w/commode, shower & sink in a pre-cast unit, barely larger than a roomy shower stall. Convenient to airport. The kitchen had limited hours.
John M — Google review
This hotel is the worst we ever stayed at. It's dirty, smelly and tiny. We had to pay 80 euros in deposit , that still hasn't been returned( 2 weeks after the stay) When we called to claim it back, suddenly noone speaks in English nor Spanish. Horrible service!
Suzana S — Google review
The room was very small and had a disgusting smell of vinegar (probably because of the products they use to clean). The people around were very loud and you could hear planes from the airport nearby very loudly. The toilets are the tiniest i have ever seen in my whole life and whenever someone was using the toilet, you could smell it in the whole room even with the door closed. There was almost no space in the room and you couldn’t get the door open correctly because of the bed. It is also incredibly expensive. The only positive thing I can say is that the secretary was a really kind woman. Also the check-in machine was malfunctioning. This hotel is definitely a must avoid!
André — Google review
I would skip this place next time I'm around. Rooms have a heavy smell of cleaning solution, we had to keep the window open until late and still could not get rid of it. The room was very small, no room to unpack our bags. The bathroom was the tiniest I have ever seen, the shower and the toilet were basically one space. Checking in was not as smooth as expected, they have no receptionist until 5pm. We were told we could check in from 4pm. The machine was not working when we arrived, then someone came and fixed it. However we were still unable to check in as the machine wasn't accepting our reservation number. We had to wait until the human receptionist came. Overall, I would not rate this place higher than 1 star, I am am giving it two for the free parking.
Cristian I — Google review
Overpriced and the size of a caravan. The shower was like the size in caravan. No aircon. Nowhere close to eat. Only plus was as much as you can eat for breakfast, but this is continental only. Had to go to bed without food as it was too far to walk to the nearest restaurant as the restaurant on the premises stopped service at 10. Just another thing, right beside the airport and planes take off beside the hotel.
Anthony C — Google review
Having been on the road from 4am on my way to South of Spain and being almost 10pm I started looking for somewhere to spend the night. I found this little hotel. I hadn't been to a P.C. for over 20 years! It is as I remembered, but it showed big signs of wear and tear. The bed was comfortable and the compact 'en-suite' enough for a quick overnight stay. Parking never a problem. I had breakfast, just ok for the price. However the staff were superb, 5* there for them!

This is a really fantastic hotel. Very clean and warm and the communal room and bedroom were absolutely beautiful and everywhere and everyone made us feel good. The hosts were lovely and very friendly. We will recommend this hotel to everyone. Thankyou, Love Richard and Jo XX
Richard O — Google review
The service and kindness of the hosts is excellent indeed! But - I am Sorry to say - the rating here is missleading and regarding comfort, value for money and location exaggerated. The room size od the standard double is tiny(under 10m2) and should not rented out to a couple with kid.
Daniel S — Google review
The man working at the front desk is extremely violent. We used the bathroom at first and left without consuming anything just because of that. He will deny it, but I'm willing to show the official police report to anyone who asks for it. This is unacceptable.

Stayed here last night. Very clean and tidy room. Very friendly and helpful service with the people running the hotel. Short walk down into the main street great if you have a car as it is easier to park away from the busy area

The most affordable accomodation in Biarritz as seen so far! The receptionist speaks four languages: french, English, german and Spanish and is very friendly and thoughtful. I have enjoyed my stay very much. Also the distance to the beach is not too far (about 15 minutes on foot). Anytime again!

Located in the picturesque coastal town of Biarritz, Surf Hostel Biarritz offers simple yet comfortable rooms with shared bathrooms and complimentary breakfast. The hostel provides a communal kitchen and even loaner bikes for guests to explore the area. Visitors can take advantage of the convenient bus network, Chronoplus, which serves not only Biarritz but also neighboring Anglet and Bayonne. This makes it easy for travelers to navigate the region at an affordable flat rate.
Great hostel. Clean rooms, friendly staff, family-style breakfasts, and lots of little things this hostel does right. Highly recommend. Note that getting from the surf hostel to the beach with a surfboard is a bit tricky - you can take the N11 bus (which officially doesn’t allow boards >2m) or rent a bike. Alternative is to rent a surfboard on the beach.
Lenni J — Google review
Lovely hostel. Very nice rooms especially for the price and breakfast provided in the morning. Quite far back from the seafront but still only a 20 minute or so walk into the heart of biarritz.
Bethany T — Google review
Hostel had such a great vibe, everyone was super friendly! Breakfast was lovely. We felt the single room was overpriced for what it was, perhaps this reflects Biarritz pricing. Free surfboards are great but it’s a bit difficult to transport to the beach if you aren’t confident riding down.
Emily E — Google review
We payed 150€ for a double bed in the hostel. This price is way too much for what you get. We only saw someone of the staff the day we left. Bikes are 10€ a day, basically you have to pay for everything on top of the 150€… There is no outside space. The hostel is located on a block of appartements. It is a 20-30 min walk to the beach and city therefore you can’t even take the surfboards from the hostel without paying for bikes. Not worth it!
MoniaMic — Google review
by far one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! super sociable, big range of surf boards to choose from and nice hostel design - highly recommend!
Yannik O — Google review
I was lucky enough to book this hostel in Biarritz, which I recommend 100%. I stayed during the days of the Woodscote festival and it was very cool to be able to share those days with the other guests of the hostel, from all the places you can imagine: Montana, Texas, England, France and Switzerland. The hostel is very nice and familiar in the morning you meet everyone at breakfast and that's where you get to know people. The staff is very nice and attentive. Thank you Candice, Alexandra and the owner for making me feel at home. Best regards and a hug. I hope to come back next year!
Matdisseny S — Google review
Fantastic hostel! Honestly, this was one of the easiest hostels to meet people. The fact that it has only about 15 people capacity makes it so easy and natural to connect with others. And the place itself is more like your grandparents' house, rather than a "hostel hostel". Very cozy, comfy and homely vibes. Breakfast time is also where it's at - one giant table where fellow backpackers share a meal like good ole days and have an actual conversation (which unfortunately is becoming so rare in the age of smartphones - even in hostels :P). The owner herself was also a beautiful, lovely woman whom I shared great conversations with. You can tell she is really pouring her heart into it and genuinely cares for the well-being of her guests. For example during breakfast time (although there is staff to prepare the table and serve the food) she was keeping a close eye and was personally replenishing the coffee, giving guests new cutlery, taking away dirty dishes, etc. I found this gesture very admirable and honorable! NOTE: The hostel itself was not that polished and upscale compared to other hostels (like the one next door which I also stayed at). So I wouldn't expect too much from the quality of the bed, etc. However, what made this place extra extra special was how easy it was to meet and bond with fellow travelers and instantly feel at home! Last thing: You get to rent a surf board for free which is a huge plus (I think other places charge 10-15 EUR per day), so it's definitely a good deal for your room price. You can also rent bikes for an affordable price! All in all a great place to stay! If you get the chance, definitely go for it!

Spent a few days in the lovely guest house of Diana and Lucas. My girlfriend and I had a crush for La Casaviel. As we often spend our holidays in Biarritz and surroundings we've been looking for a place like this since ages. Amazing breakfast with croissant and vegan pancakes. The garden was the perfect spot to do our daily workout. Both hosts are super kind and helpful, Lucas (who's also a shaper) gave me some great advises as I was about to walk down to the beach and get my first surf lesson. Hosts will give you the best spots to eat, visit and party around Biarritz. Thanks again, next trip to Casaviel is already booked, can't wait! Felix and Jess. An ode to the host Philippe, who maintains this century-old Basque house with great passion and charm and who always has good advice for discovering customs, traditions and regional delights. At Irigoian, we pay attention to details, whether for the cushions or napkins which come from the local fabric factory, or for the breakfast dishes which are decorated with typical elements of the region. (Translated by Google) Excellent 5-night stay at Philippe's. The house is magnificent, typical of the Basque Country. It is ideally located a few minutes walk from the two beaches Ilbaritz and Pavillon Royal / Erretegia. There you will find surf schools, restaurants and bars. There is also a public bus a few meters away that takes you to Biarritz, we used it one evening to go out without having to drive. Good to know: to get around they use YUSE in the Basque Country in addition to Uber. Our room was very spacious, with plenty of storage space and a large bathroom. It was also equipped with a mini fridge ideal for picnics at the beach. The cleanliness is impeccable, the room is cleaned every day which allows you to feel clean throughout your stay. More than accommodation, it is a place to meet and exchange, with Philippe we exchange and travel, our host, a former journalist and passionate about his region of birth, shares many good addresses and activities to do. We recommend this place 10,000% for a rejuvenating, natural, sporty and friendly vacation! In order to make the experience even more exceptional we would like to make a small suggestion for improvement on the breakfast, more variety and local products would make it exquisite. Thank you Philippe and see you soon, Mark Hassan and Claire (Original) Excellent séjour de 5 nuits chez Philippe. La maison est magnifique, typique du Pays Basque. Les Tourelles - Guest House is a highly recommended charming house located just a minute walk from the beach in Biarritz. The house offers immaculate, spacious, and stylish rooms with comfortable beds and luxurious bathrooms. It is conveniently situated near shops, bars, bakeries, and restaurants. Whether traveling as a couple or with family, guests can enjoy the fully equipped kitchen and feel at home with quick responses from the accommodating hosts.
Highly recommended. It’s my second time in this charming house. Everything is spotless clean, with an impressive attention to detail. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is luxurious, the kitchen fully equipped. The house itself is perfectly located, just a minute walk from the beach, central to the nicest shops and bars. The hosts are quick to answer any questions or enquiry we had and always made us feel at home. I will definitely book again, and use this company if I ever travel to other cities in France.

Second stay for us at Les Tourelles and again we loved it! The house is immaculate, with large ensuite bedrooms on the first floor as well as a 2-bedroom apartment on the top floor, perfect for couples as well as families. It is very conveniently located, with a baker close-by (I recommend their dried fruit bread rolls) and other shops and restaurants on the same street. It is only a 5 min walk to the main beach and to the traditional food market.

The house is modern and stylish with very comfortable beds and large ensuite dressing rooms/bathrooms for the 2 bedrooms on the first floor. (Translated by Google) Sylvie gave us a wonderful welcome with lots of great tips for exploring the area. The room was spotless, with a coffee machine, herbal tea, and fresh water. The room was cleaned daily. Breakfast was amazing, with everything homemade: jams, muffins, yogurt, rice pudding, as well as savory items, eggs, and cheese. We were pampered from start to finish.

Nestled along the stunning Cote des Basques, Carlina Lodge is a perfect getaway for both seasoned surfers and groups of friends looking to catch some waves. Whether you're celebrating a birthday or bachelorette party, this hotel residence offers an ideal setting with direct beach access. Imagine waking up to the soothing sounds of the ocean and stepping out onto the sandy shores right from your room! Each accommodation boasts breathtaking ocean views, ensuring that every moment spent here feels like a slice of paradise.
(Translated by Google) A great night in this hotel! The staff is lovely. Great location right on the beach, all rooms have ocean views. The only downside is that there's no parking as the hotel is located at the end of a one-way street. We parked in a free public lot on the hills, a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The room we stayed in was large, with a terrace, a large living room with a king-size bed, TV, sofa, and minibar, another small room with a bunk bed, and a large bathroom with a bathtub. We opted for the simple breakfast option for €6, which included a hot drink and a pastry served in our room. The restaurants, the aquarium, and the town center are all within a 10-15 minute walk via the seafront promenade, which is very pleasant. We will definitely be back during our next weekend on the Basque coast.

(Translated by Google) The location is off-center compared to Biarritz, but the rooms have stunning sea views, which explains the high price. The room and bathroom are spacious, but the bay windows overlooking the sea could use a good cleaning. (Original) Emplacement décentré par rapport à Biarritz cependant les chambres ont une vue imprenable sur la mer, ce qui explique le prix élevé. Chambre et salle de bain spacieuses mais les baies vitrées sur la mer mériteraient un bon décrassage .
