Excellent Stay – Highly Recommended! I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff was extremely cooperative and helpful throughout, always ready to assist and explain everything in detail. They also arranged the best transport options, making travel very convenient. One of the highlights of the trip was the desert safari experience, which was very well organized by the hotel. They provided complete information about local tourist attractions, transport facilities, and even connected us with reliable local guides. The food options were great, offering a good variety to suit different tastes. The rooms were spacious, well-maintained, neat, and tidy – providing a very comfortable environment. Overall, tourists staying here won’t face any difficulty. Highly recommended for a hassle-free and enjoyable experience!

Excellent Experience at Hotel Tokyo Palace! My stay at Hotel Tokyo Palace was truly exceptional from start to finish. The staff mr choka were incredibly warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and provided excellent service throughout my stay. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and modern, and everything worked perfectly. Housekeeping was attentive and ensured the room stayed fresh and tidy each day. I also loved the hotel’s location — it’s convenient, peaceful, and close to many attractions, shops, and restaurants. Despite being near the city’s activity, the hotel itself offered a calm and quiet environment, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The restaurant served delicious food with a great variety of options, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was elegant yet cozy. Whether it was breakfast, room service, or dining in the evening, the quality and presentation were outstanding. Overall, Hotel Tokyo Palace exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s clear that the management and staff take great pride in offering the best possible experience to their guests. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area — I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip!

Wonderful Experience and Top-Notch Service I had a truly wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The hospitality stood out right from the start — the staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. They made sure everything was clearly explained, which made my stay smooth and stress-free. The hotel arranged excellent transport services, and the desert safari they organized was a real highlight — well-coordinated and memorable. They also had detailed information available about local attractions, transport options, and tourist guides, which was incredibly helpful. The food selection was impressive, with plenty of options to suit different tastes. My room was spacious, spotless, and very well maintained — it really added to the overall comfort of the stay. This hotel is a great choice for anyone visiting the area. Everything is taken care of so well that tourists won’t face any issues at all. Would definitely recommend it to others looking for a pleasant and hassle-free experience.

The private rooms were beautiful Pool looks great I told the front desk someone was smoking in the dorm room and they literally ignored me and didn't care. Didn't stay here EDIT: I was invited back to the hotel for a coffee and a talk. I was told they handled the situation by removing the smoker. The Indian hospitality is definitely very good. First impressions matter very much in the hotel business. I forgive them, but I won't forget how I was originally ignored and then essentially forced to edit this review. They got lucky by randomly seeing me on the street and inviting me back in. The number one reason I would stay at a hotel is because of the staff. I recommend to other people to visit this hotel. It is a beautiful building and they will probably treat you very well.
Devon D — Google review
I stayed in their deluxe room and the room condition was great. The room was very spacious and had all the necessary amenities. They even have a well maintained pool. The staff was very helpful and responsive and helped us a lot during a stay even with recommendations about places to visit or eat. Special shoutout to Choka bhai for even arranging late night transport for us.
Sarthak G — Google review
This hotel is really nice, and the staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The food is tasty and fresh, and the service is always on time. Overall, it was an excellent experience — I would definitely recommend it!

Had a wonderful stay for 3 nights at this property. As per tough geography around. This hotel is a good stay. Is walkable from fort approx 10 -15 mins. Staff are very helpful and always ready to assist with smile. Appreciate all team members, special thanks to Shakeel and Malik for making our stay comfortable.

-Rooms are quite small and with no view, although they will mention and promise that fort view etc but seriously big no for rooms.(2/5) - Food is very pathetic, you can find street vendors providing much better food.(0/5) -Location is quite approachable but very congested. -No lifts Even to reach second/third floor Only good point is roof top resturant where you can enjoy fort view but with pathetic food quality. My recommendation a big NO for couple or family perosns.

Shahi Palace Hotel is a cozy accommodation housed in an impressive building, offering comfortable rooms and a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of the fort. Conveniently situated near Jaisalmer Fort and the railway station, this 3-star hotel provides various amenities such as a swimming pool, terrace, garden, restaurant, bar, and room service. Guests appreciate the clean rooms and commendable service from the polite and knowledgeable staff.
Literally could not have asked for a better, more wonderful experience. I was here with my dad and 16 year old brother. Devi and his family sorted EVERYTHING for us and made us feel so welcome, even in this off season time. The decor is so beautiful and homely, and I felt at home throughout. Was a little oasis from the hustle and bustle. The roof terrace was incredible with perfect views of the fort and often the moon. We loved enjoying a beer in the evening, taking in the vibe! I felt like there was always someone around to help if needed, yet also never felt hassled or bothered. We were given delicious food, and recommendations, I had a great trip to the desert, we changed money, my dad got a SIM card and laundry was done, all sorted for us without any effort. I cannot recommend this place enough. I felt like home and it felt like friends I knew for years. Thank you so much
Sarah D — Google review
Indeed this was an outstanding experience with us. We were welcomed and greeted by owner and managed to provide the initial support. Rooms were very nice, plenty of amenities are available. This hotel is having wonderful view from its roof top restaurant. Recommend everyone to visit once you are Jaisalmer.
Debarshi M — Google review
Our stay here was fantastic right from the moment we arrived. The rooms were comfortable, the food was delicious, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooftop restaurant was a great place to relax and enjoy the view. Their warm hospitality and personal attention truly made this place stand out.
Gowtham S — Google review
The room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely fort view. Hospitality was good. The only drawback was the washroom, as the commode had a foul smell due to drainage issues. The rooftop restaurant offered a great fort view, though the food was only average. The hotel arranged a driver and car for two days, and the driver, Sawai, was very knowledgeable and helpful. They also organized a desert safari, but it wasn’t up to the mark and did not feel like value for money
Raavan R — Google review
The location is perfect to watch the night view of the golden fort at night while having candle light dinner under the open sky. Service is top notch. One of the best property I have ever stayed in.👍 Will highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Shahi palace, and I can't praise the staff enough for their incredible service and attention to detail. From the moment I checked in, I felt welcomed and valued. The front desk staff were warm and accommodating, ensuring that my check-in process was seamless. They provided thorough information about the hotel amenities and local attractions, which made planning my activities effortless. Whenever I had a question or needed assistance, they were always ready to help with a smile. The host of the hotel Mr.Vijay went above and beyond to assist with organizing Desert camping, safari and local sightseeing. I would also like to praise our driver Mr. Nathu for their professionalism and seamless driving. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was very good. I left feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the fantastic service I received. I highly recommend Hotel Shahi palace for anyone looking for a place where the staff genuinely goes the extra mile to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience. I can't wait to return!

We stayed here for 2 nights. Absolutely amazing hotel... neat and clean rooms. Very polite and helpful staff. Roof top restaurant with a view of Jaisalmer fort. Restaurant staff is also very helpful and polite. Food is great too, they listen to us and prepare food accordingly. Everyone here are always ready to help with a smile. Hotel has it's own car parking, which is kind of rare here. Would highly recommend this place for families and all. Jaisalmer fort is 5 mins walking distance. Gadisar lake is 0.5 kms. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Vishal S — Google review
Just don’t think about staying here when you are with family. Whatever you see in the room starting from plastic mug till kettle including all bathroom fittings, towels, blankets, etc. are very old and bad quality. Small room with a queen size bed, no place to add extra bed. Extra person has to sleep in the space of window. They have kept small mat in every window for extra person to sleep. The room is too clumsy, not enough space to keep luggage. There is no sound or heat insulation. I don’t know how. We kept on hearing what happens in the next room and from the roadside. The only good thing is we got enough hot water. But main switch to geezer and air condition is somewhere outside. Taste of pasta for dinner was pathetic, but you don’t have options outside as well. For breakfast it will be served to you against the order because of this, it takes time to deliver. I know this is a three star hotel so I cannot expect more, but at least the quality should have been maintained. I’m giving single star because no option for zero star.

Good stay at Royal Haveli, courteous staff and good service at reasonable price. Rooms were clean and maintained. Location at walking distance from fort, lake, bus stand. Good food at the restaurant on rooftop.

It's beautiful, comfortable and near all the main attraction points hotel. The rooms were clean and colorful. The bathroom was also clean and spacious. Value for money. Food was good too. You can get a partial view of the fort from the small window in the room which was on the upper floor.

We had an amazing breakfast 🧇 on their rooftop. They really tried their hardest to make us the happiest we could be with our experience and we really appreciated it. The quality of the food was great, the service fantastic, the views beautiful and the furniture so comfortable— none of which is a given in India. Yes it's one of the pretty places in the vicinity with lovely vibes and a fort view. Yes the service is tailored to make the firang guests very happy. But unfortunately, the thing that matters the most, food, is where the cafe lacks. We were served complimentary papad and chutney where the chutney smelled. When raised, the server was sure it was not, and what could one day after that. Next we ordered a veg grilled sandwich which was absolutely average. The fettuccini basil pasta was decent but very oily with tooth breaking bread. The saving grace was the mint cucumber slush which made me less angry. So yeah, go for the pics, sit for a beer, but avoid the food.
Arshia G — Google review
We visit the restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. The food was always satisfying and the service provided was top. Very attentive and kind staff. The atmosphere is great and the view is lovely.

YOU'LL FEEL LIKE HOME, IN THE DESERT! I had a truly memorable stay at The Elite Castle in Jaisalmer, in spite of my short time there. The room had everything I needed—comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully put together without any extra clutter. The staff were incredibly kind, always with a smile and ready to help in the smallest of details. The highlight of our stay was meeting the owner, known affectionately as Mr. Desert. He was warm, cheerful, and generous with his time and knowledge of the desert. Although the absolute best part was spending the evening at the rooftop restaurant. Sitting in the chill-out area, with a direct view of the golden fort, was magical. It was quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing with a drink as the fort glowed in the night. The Elite Castle isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place that makes you feel at home ever since you walk in the door. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Jaisalmer. Thank you!

We have stayed in Elite Castle, Jaisalmer during our Rajasthan trip in Oct'24. The place is very hygienic, well maintained and pleasant. The ambience is very nice, the rooms are well designed with antique furniture and the wash rooms are very clean. Owner is a very nice person. By the time we reached the place it's nearly 7pm he welcomed us by offering chai. He mingles very well with the guests and had a small tour in his open jeep to see the town. The place has roof top restaurant and offers homely food. Overall we had a great and pleasant stay and highly recommend!!!

Hotel Garh Jaisal Haveli is a luxurious accommodation nestled within an 11th-century fortress in the heart of Jaisalmer. With its opulent rooms, this 3-star hotel offers a taste of royalty with modern amenities. Conveniently located near the city's transport links and within walking distance of the Jain Temple, it provides easy access to explore the area. The hotel features honey-colored suites adorned with royal themes and modern amenities such as coffeemakers and minibars.
This is one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in during our travels. We booked a standard double room with a city/landmark view, which was very spacious and well-equipped with all the essentials. Located within the fort premises, the Haveli offers breathtaking views from both the room and the rooftop restaurant. Witnessing the beautiful sunrise and enjoying breakfast with the fort on one side and the city on the other was an unforgettable experience. The staff were exceptionally hospitable and friendly, even arranging a local guide for us on short notice since we had limited time to explore the city. It's truly a gem of a place! We can’t wait to return and spend even more time here!

The railing on the top floor is uncomfortably low at some points so better check your kids if you have them with you.

One of the best places for stay in Jaisalmer. You get to experience the old world charm of the Jaisalmer fort. Rooms are well equipped, rooftop restaurant gives breathtaking views of the fort and the city. The property manager Anit is a gem, very humble and helpful. The restaurant staff is also very welcoming and friendly and provide tasty food. If I go back to Jaisalmer I will definitely stay here again.

Excellent Heritage Property specially rooms with Fort & City view. Their service is also very good and prompt. Restaurant food taste is also good. All the tourist spots nearby, you can go for it. And their rooftop view is excellent.

This is a very nice place to stay. From your room window, you can see the full city and enjoy the sunrise. The food was great, and the staff were really helpful. The rooms were neat and clean, and rickshaws can take you right up to the hotel. One thing to note: In the early morning hours, the police do not allow rickshaws inside the killa (fort). You will need to walk down to the entrance. However, if you have luggage, the hotel staff will collect your bags using a motorcycle

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff is extremely helpful, the rooms very comfortable, and have magnificent views of the city and the fort. The terrace is ideal for watching the sunset and appreciating the architectural beauty of the fort and the landscape in general. The location is superb I felt right at home.

Very nice small Haveli inside the fort with small but nice rooms having a suspended balcony at the edge of the fortified wall. Very nice staff. Roof top restaurant with stunning views and tasty food. Good breakfast which can take you through dinner time.

I loved this hotel. It is located inside the Jaisalmer fort. The rooms are nicely done, each one has a different color theme with a rooftop restaurant which has a great view of the city. The thing I loved the most is the service they provide. The staff is excellent and they are very proactive. I had asked them in advance to arrange two autos to go to the station in the the middle of the night. And I thought I have to wake them up and ask them to follow up with the auto guys etc. but they were very proactive and made sure everything was ready on time. Very thankful to these guys and highly recommended!

Nestled within the enchanting Golden Fort of Jaisalmer, Sagar Guest House is a delightful retreat for travelers seeking an authentic experience. Just a short stroll from Gopa Chowk, this charming guest house showcases traditional Jaisalmeri stone architecture adorned with intricate carvings. The inviting rooftop restaurant serves delectable vegetarian Indian cuisine while offering stunning panoramic views of the golden city below.
Sagar guest is a wonderful place to stay for those who prefer quiet peaceful atmosphere inside the fort. Rooms are very clean and the service is really good. It is located at the main centre place. Every sightseeing place inside the fort is few meters away. The roof top restaurant view is very good. The place is very safe for solo travelers, couples and family.

I had booked a room with a landmark view for two days, but when I arrived with my partner around 12:30 PM, Paresh (the owner) gave me a budget room, insisting that’s what I had booked. I showed him the booking details from Booking.com, but he dismissed it, claiming that he’s been hosting at this property for over 20 years and didn’t know what was listed on the website. He spoke to me rudely, pointing fingers, and told me not to bother him with such small issues. He even told me to cancel the booking and find somewhere else. He didn’t give me time to think or look for another place, and as a tourist in an unfamiliar area, it was impossible to find new accommodation on such short notice. His behavior was unprofessional, especially since he was at fault but wouldn’t admit it. He seemed to think he could treat guests this way simply because he owns the property. Left with no choice, I canceled my two-day booking and stayed for just one night since I didn’t know where else to go. I ended up paying 1000 for the budget room, which was listed as 600-700 on Booking.com. It seems like he only acts properly when he gets money😂. You could find better properties for the same price in the fort area. The budget room was okay, but the blanket had stains, the bathroom lacked a hook for clothes, and the flush wasn’t working properly. I also couldn’t figure out who was making the noise, whether it was during the day or night. I think it might have been the family running the hotel, It was very disruptive, and it added to the unpleasant experience. We ended up sleeping through the noise at night, just due to sheer tiredness. I did interact with two other staff members who were polite. We also tried the Paneer Butter Masala, which I would rate 3/5. Visiting this hotel was by far the worst experience I had in Jaisalmer. That same day, we looked for other hotels and found a nice one within the Fort at the same price, offering a great city view. We checked out as soon as we woke up. I had seen some bad reviews, but I didn’t pay much attention to them. That was my biggest mistake, and I only realised it after arriving at the hotel and dealing with the rude, misbehaving owner. If you plan to book this property, be sure to confirm with the owner in advance about the exact room you'll get and ask for photos. Otherwise, you might face problems when you arrive, so make your decision carefully. Thanks...I hope you have a great time in Jaisalmer, it's such a beautiful place. Just be careful of these people who could ruin your experience and happiness.

I had a truly amazing stay at Sagar Guest House! The family who runs it is incredibly kind and welcoming – they made me feel right at home. They also organized an unforgettable, authentic camel safari for me, one of the best experiences of my trip. Their food is absolutely delicious – all traditional, homemade Rajasthani dishes, cooked with love. The location is perfect too, right inside the fort, so you’re in the heart of the old city. Even after the safari, they kindly let me use the facilities to shower – such thoughtful hospitality. Highly recommended!
Marlene L — Google review
very sweet staff, people were available at all times even though we were the only guests at the beginning of our stay. They dropped anything they were doing to come attend us if we needed anything - even too much, i felt spoiled! :) Paresh went with us for a little walk on the night of our arrival and showed us around the fort, it was a very calm and very homely first impression of Jaisalmer. Some facilities weren't always available: sometimes the wifi wasn't working well, and it happened that the electricity or water went out (10 minutes max). Paresh was very transparent about it and told me at the beginning of the stay, explaining that being inside the fort it's just the way it is. I didn't mind at all and I think it's worth it to have such a nice location. If you book here keep it in mind that not everything is possible inside the fort. There is an analogue Yashika camera hanging as a decoration on the wall, they very kindly let me use it during my stay, and i will find out soon if it worked! Since they had free rooms they were flexible with the checkout timings, and let us stay until the evening, when we had our bus. For the checkout it is advisable to have cash available, cause paying with card or bank transfer implies a 5% fee and depends on the shaky wifi. The restaurant (palace view) is very good, i had multiple meals there and spent all the hottest times of day when I couldn't go out. We were very annoying & asking for a different level of spice at basically every meal (being the slaves of our digestive system), and the cook was very careful and accommodating. We never had such expressive conversations with someone whose language we couldnt speak as we did with Jitu, great worker and great friend to chill with, sharing music and waiting for the heatwave to pass.

Good location. Staff tried to hook up with solo female travelers. There was no hot water and water stopped at any time without letting you know in advance. From the food there I got the worst diarrhea ever, not recommended.

The Hotel Fifu is a great option for those who want a laid-back stay in Jaisalmer. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, and the rooftop restaurant features stunning views of the city fort. The hospitality is top-notch, and the food is delicious – perfect for a quick break from the bustle of town life.
Location is great if one wants to be close to Jaisalmer fort. The deluxe room that we stayed in was spacious and faces the fort. It is a building that itself depicts the heritage of the city. Owner fifu ji and his son were very caring and extended warm hospitality to us. The dinner served was excellent. This one is for those who love the scenic view from the room, are fine with Homestays / traditional stays. Not for those seeking luxury and amenities.

Felt at home and great hospitality. The staff made me feel like family (the owner and his son were so nice). Had a great time and will be back. The kitchen staff was fantastic to my every need! My wife felt sick before arrival and they accommodated anything she needed along the way. We even did a camel safari through them and had a very nice time.

I recommend the FIFU hotel 100%. Very clean hotel (sheets, sanitary facilities) delicious kitchen and very well located outside the noisy city. Its terrace overlooks a pretty point of view on the fort. The staff are very respectful. The owner Fifu speaks French and is very concerned about your well-being. Her son receives you at the welcome always with his beautiful smile. I have an excellent memory of my vacation in this hotel. I hope to come back to it. Geneviève

We went on a trip during the last week of September 2025 and we had a night stay at Fifu. They gave us a heartwarming welcome in Rajasthani tradition .The room was so neat with a clean washroom facility and room services were so appreciative. It was designed in Rajasthani tradition and cultural which gave us a new experience. They provide good North Indian food for both dinner as well as for breakfast which was so good. The view from the terrace food court was amazing. We experienced excellent hospitality at Fifu.Highly recommending.

Great place to stay with excellent service. Staff were very courteous and helpful during our whole stay. The restaurant on the roof was wonderful - the food was excellent. Probably needs some heating lamps for the winter but otherwise excellent atmosphere and service. Good view of the Fort from the roof. Location is only 15 mins walk from the Fort and Jaisalmer is a beautiful city. Room was excellent. Good furnishings, clean and well maintained. The only minor issues with our room were 1) No curtain over the shower, 2) Balcony had a lot of pigeon droppings on it, 3) Limited space to unpack a suitcase , and 4) The double bed was two singles and they would separate a little during the night. All minor issues. Would recommend this place to anyone!

We had a great time staying here with family. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. They have used the space very smartly and kept the interior in sync with the Jaisalmer architecture which makes it even more interesting. We could also see a glimpse of the Jaisalmer Fort from our room. One major con in this hotel is that there are NO ELEVATORS. So, if you traveling with family that includes older people, you might want to reconsider it. Other than that, everything was perfect including the staff who were very helpful and courteous.

We had a wonderful stay here. The owners are warm and welcoming. The staff are very helpful. The rooftop gives an amazing view of the fort.
Subhajit B — Google review
We stayed for two nights at this property. Very well maintained and helpful hotel and restaurant staff. The highlight was the roof top view of the fort and its to die for. The owner is a very friendly & warm person and came in to meet and see us off when we were checking out. The only negative is that the property is situated at a place where the road is unpaved for a kilometre from the main road and is very poorly lit at night plus you have packs of street dogs ,cows and bulls chasing you if you choose to walk down from the main road. Make sure you give the keys at the reception before leaving for the day else they will not clean your rooms with the excuse that keys were not handed over, most hotels have a duplicate key to access the room and clean it when you are away. In one of the rooms the fan regulator and intercom was not working.

Located near various landmarks in Jaisalmer, Renuka Hotel offers a pleasant stay with its friendly and helpful family-owned establishment. The hotel organizes desert safaris at competitive prices, supporting local guides during the pandemic. Guests can enjoy top-notch food and good vibes while experiencing humble and helpful service from the owner, his son, and staff. With maintained cleanliness, this budget-friendly accommodation is recommended for those looking to explore Jaisalmer.
My wife and I really enjoyed our 2 nights stay at Renuka. Lucky and Guru were very nice and friendly and they organized for us an unforgettable tour in the desert on a camel ride. The rooms are simple but clean. The view from the rooftop is really a blast, and the food is very well cooked. The only very little problem is that the kitchen is relatively small, and while it's understandable it takes a bit to serve everyone, it could be helpful to have an idea of the waiting times, especially if the restaurant is filled with people. Maybe reducing the dishes or being more realistic with timing could help. Anyway, it was a splendid stay for an amazing experience in Jaisalmer. We'll definitely be back if in town.

One of the best stay if you want to experience real essence of Jaisalmer with the locals and the humbled hospitality with a sand dune activity The sand dune safari is the lifetime experience unlike any traditional activity one can have with the humblest owner Roshan . This is the overnight adventure with below activities 1. Camel riding 2. Amazing dinner cooked by Durjan which will give you the most authentic food cooked on bornfire we loved like anything 3. Star gazing 4. Rest in amazing tents 5. Amazing breakfast 6. Unlimited memories

I came to this hotel because it had been recommended to me by other people for the camel safari in the desert. Well I couldn't agree more, both the camel driver and the jeep driver were very friendly. The night in the desert was incredible. The camel driver treated his camels well and the food was very good. At the hotel too, the cook prepared an excellent breakfast. All the staff at the hotel and on the safari were very pleasant. I can only recommend

The best thing about this place are the super kind owners. They are lovely and helping. They helped us booked a train, they offered an amazing trip in the desert (that was GREAT!!), the restaurant is very good and the cook is also adorable. Sunny and his suns are great. Apart from that, the hotel is clean, the location is perfect, there is AC…. Everything was good, and for the price, I could say that everything was more then perfect. My favourite hotel of my trip in India.

I had a wonderful stay at Renuka Hotel. It is family owned and they are a friendly bunch. Went on their desert safari at a competitive price, run by a really nice group. There are a lot of people selling the safari package in Jaisalmer, but I was pleased to learn that this is one of the oldest ones and the hotel owners supported the safari guides through the covid pandemic when they had little work. Of course top notch food and good vibes, 100% recommend. Thank you guys!

We had an amazing stay at Renuka Hotel. They came to get us (free of charge) at the train station. The room was comfortable and all the appliances worked perfectly. Amazing quality price ratio ! They offered several possibilities for the camel safari and didn’t pressure us into anything. Our camel safari was wonderful (Thank you to Durgar, Laloo and Papaya ^^). The sand dune where They took us was beautiful and there were very few tourists. The hôtel kept our bags during our safari and offered us a room the day after so we could rest and take a shower. Truely amazing service from Sunny and his family. Can’t recommend this place enough.

The room and service at the hotel were terrible. Even though I had booked the room 3 months in advance through a travel agent with specific instructions for a room for 3 adults, the room I was offered was too small. Our stay was excellent... This hotel was a last minute change in our plan but I have no regrets because the staff was so welcoming and well behaved. When we were checking out and heading to the bus stand we couldn't have our breakfast so the staff made sure to deliver our breakfast at the bus stand itself. Thomas Lebsak 5/5 2 months ago on Google One of the best hostel experiences I’ve had! The place is clean, comfy, and in a great location — but what really made it special was the staff. Super friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring. They went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and at home. You can tell they love what they do. Would definitely come back!

Moustache Jaisalmer is a charming hostel that offers a blend of rustic accommodations and a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for travelers seeking an authentic experience. Nestled close to the iconic Jaisalmer Fort, this casual spot features simple dorms and private rooms within a historic building. Guests can unwind on the terrace with stunning views or savor delicious meals at the on-site dining area.
Really beautiful boutique hotel right across the street from the Jaiselmer Fort. The hostel rooms are clean and spacious and the regular hotel rooms are stunning. The architecture of this hotel is outrageous. I stayed in the hostel but next time would splurge for the regular room. We never ate here… so no comment but we enjoyed street vendor food and drink and a rooftop cafe very close by for Americano coffee and light breakfast. Food was very reasonably priced. The Fort was an amazing destination … really unique architecture… we had a tour guide which was nice but there is more pressure here on tourists to purchase than other places we have been. We did take a lovely cooler morning walk to the lake…10-15 minutes and along the way small local shops for water or chai. The walk from the hostel is absolutely doable in the cooler weather… watch out for the heat. We also enjoyed a nice drink and snack at mugs for buds right along the water.

The property is well managed with decent staff and great host specially satyam ji and abhishek ji are very cooperative and humble. The offbeat camping is worth doing with peacful environment and lovely company. The view of fort at night is also mesmerising. Must recommended if you are in jaisalmer to avoid lootere scammers.

Stayed at Hotel Moustache, Jaisalmer for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located right next to the Jaisalmer Fort, offering easy access and a stunning view. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The view of the fort from the terrace is beautiful and makes dining there a delightful experience. There is ample parking available just outside the hotel, which also serves as parking for the fort.

Perfect property for gataway & chill. Beautiful garden with morning & evening birds 🐦 chi chi....❤️ Very helpful & friendly staff. You can experience proper offbeat desert safari. Uncle Owner is Humble & Cool😎.
Nisha B — Google review
Below average rooms, stinky all around the hostel, the management very unprofessional, told me to invite my friends to their desert safari and later changed his mind when they came. Horrible experiences from their desert safari, the people in charge were unpleasant and aggressive individuals, I had close friends who stayed at moustach hostel with me,but they booked the safari from another company and we ended up at the same dunes, the guide didn't want them to join us at the evening, he started being territorial and made a really big deal, shouting in the middle of the desert, other than that camels looked very sad, almost tortured, and food was bland. Don't book with them.

Tofu Safari in Jaisalmer is a fantastic hostel with comfortable rooms and welcoming staff. The rooftop cafe offers lovely chai and ginger/lemon teas with a great view. The desert safari, led by Raja, provides an incredible experience of spending a night under the stars with a fire-cooked feast and morning porridge. Guests can expect super kind and helpful hosts who go above and beyond to ensure a great time.
Best safari in Jaisalmer! Medu and Marrak, the two men who guided us in the desert, were fantastic. Medu was very attentive during the camel ride, and Marrak's dal was some of the best I've had. The sunset, sunrise, and starry night sky were all exceptional. The dunes were quiet and fun to explore. We slept on elevated canvas mats under the stars. Around 10PM the desert started to cool considerably, but the blankets were plenty warm. I slept comfortably.
Altan M — Google review
A beautiful hostel and amazing desert safari experience. We slept under the stars, saw the milky way and shooting stars. We rode camels for an hour and drove in the jeep with music. In the desert they cooked on the fire for us and we all chatted for hours and explored the desert. The sand dunes were really clean and the sunset was beautiful. The hostel was a great place with a rooftop cafe which was really reasonably priced and service was amazing. It was a really chilled atmosphere and community based, we played card games with others there and chatted and played music often. In the evening the sunsets are great and the lights of the fort are pretty. There’s comfy chairs to choose from to rest outside in the late evening. Everyone speaks really good English (and other languages!) and made sure we had everything we needed. They were flexible about how long we stayed there and let us change it. They are knowledgeable about the area and the rooms are really lovely with good WiFi. They dropped us to the train station on the last day. Thank you it’s been a great place to stay xx

Safari was amazing! Rojay was incredible, he told amazing stories, cooked beautiful food and sung magical songs. Could not recommend enough we had the best time

What an amazing experience! This is an incredible safari experience. Toffi was an amazing guide taking us first to an abandoned village and telling us about the history of the village and its nearby fort. Then we took the jeep out to look at some nearby nature and animals. Toffi was great here telling us all about the different animals and plants in the region. From there we had a camel ride which was so much fun! Finally we went out to camp in the desert. Roja met us there and was able to tell us lots about desert living. We cooked a delicious meal with rotis, dahl and an egg curry. All this food was so delicious! Sleeping out in the desert was surprisingly cold but we were provided with big blankets so we were completely fine! In the morning I went for an amazing walk through the dunes and managed to see a White desert fox. Overall this was an incredible experience and I would recommend it to anyone!!!
Malcolm C — Google review
We went on a 2 nights safari in the desert with Tofu safari. The experience was great, the Thar desert is very nice and it is really worth to do the 2 nights safari to have the opportunity to go a bit further in the dunes. The guide Roja was absolutely wonderful, he taught us so much about desert culture, and was also a wonderful cook.

I joined Tofu's Safari earlier this week and had a great time. We visited some places including the abandoned village and Tofu shared stories about the village. We then went for a camel ride before driving 20km deeper into the desert to set up a camp. Delicious food was cooked for us and we slept under the stars. I would recommend for you to visit and join Tofu's safari!

Amazing experience with Tofu Safari! Hostel was perfectly located near the fort, and Toffi Bhai planned everything to suit us. The camel safari and night under the stars were unforgettable. Huge thanks to Rojay Bhai for staying with us, driving in and out of the desert, and cooking us a great breakfast. Friendly service, great value, and authentic desert vibes — highly recommend!

The rooftop restaurant serves delicious Indian, Chinese, and continental cuisine. It's known for its colorful rooms and free shuttle service. Additionally, it offers amenities such as airport transfers, car hire, currency exchange, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel provides an authentic Rajasthani experience and is located conveniently near the railway station and bus station.
I stayed here during a three-week trip to India, and it was truly an incredible experience. The hotel is spotless, perfectly located, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The rooftop restaurant is a standout—it served the best food we had during our entire trip, all freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The breakfast was brilliant as well, with plenty of variety and attention to detail. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable stay!

Beautiful place and amazing staff.! The food and view from the rooftop cafe is amazing and the staff is super polite and welcoming. We stayed only 1 night but it was definitely one of our favorite stays. The entrance definitely looks a big sketchy and there is another place right next to it but trust me once you go inside you will love it. I guess a minor gripe would be a slow wifi but thats nothing compared to everything else. We dis not do any desert activities here but also provide those.

I would say that I had a mixed feeling staying at Pleasant Haveli. Here are the Pros & Cons of the place Pros 1. The property is very conveniently located near the "Jaisalmer Fort" and is about a brisk 20 min walk. 2. The food ( we mostly had breakfast) was good and service was fast. The spanish omelette and parathas were super tasty. 3. The room service boys were helpful Cons 1. The room where we stayed ( "Cozy Room") didn't have any wardrobe. We had to request to move the television so that we could create some space to place all our clothes. That was a real challenge 2. Though the room service boys were nice and cordial, however, they were not trained professionals. So expect some gaps in daily replenishments and services.

There is lot to tell. Don't go by all good review. First of all, it is not at all inside the deep desert. It is roadside desert camping. The name is Red Velvet & they will take you to Golden City Camping. They (guy named Mr.Ayub) will include the camping, Parasailing, Camel Ride & Jeep Ride in the package for 8k which is not worth. Parasailing is just for two minutes which covers only 300m distance for which they charge Rs.1000/-. Not worth at all. In the name camping, they arrange Rajasthani Folk Activity. But, it is completely Gazals & Muslim activity. There is nowhere Rajasthani Folk activity at all. We all were bored. The only good part part was Camel ride which is arranged by other guys. The package included night star gazing for extra Rs.4500. However, the cold increased a lot to 7°C due to which our baby could bare it. We request Mr.Ayub to cancel our night Star Gazing & refund the money by cutting nominal charge of jeep tranport (Rs.500 max). But he refused & suggested to leave baby & someone at camp & others to attend star gazing. He didn't refund amount. When we went back to hotel next day, he then promised to arrange city tour & next morning transport to bus station for our travel. However, he provided contact of person & he never picked up our call. Also, Mr.Ayub never picked up our call. We had to walk till bus station along with big trolley luggage & baby all the way. It was worst experience. There are better camping option which are inside deep desert. Please choose. But never this.

Customer Service was excellent from the point of booking. The manager made contact and made us aware of services the hotel offers. He even met us at the station at 3am when our train was delayed! The hotel is modern, new and very clean. Room was large and well decorated with a large bathroom and good hot water shower. Bed was comfy. Location is great, less than 10 minutes walk to the main gate of the old city. Also has a nice rooftop restaurant. The hotel arranged our camel safari which was excellent. From start to finish we couldn’t fault anything and stayed here twice during our trip. The staff take a pride in the hotel and delivering superb service to guests. As far as I could see, Hotel Relax inn is the best choice for a hotel in Jaisalmer.

While traveling, we had been in touch on the phone, and he did respond to each and every call of ours. We came late in the night (12.30 am) and the staff picked us up from the train station. The washroom was clean which was important for us. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had an amazing stay here. The hotel rooftop has a very nice view of the Jaisalmer fort. I booked this hotel after seeing very high ratings and great reviews here. The rating seemed too good to be true, but surprisingly, this hotel actually is as exceptional as described in the reviews by people. We booked 1 King Suite with balcony and 2 Double Room with balcony at a very reasonable price. We had an amazing experience. The rooms were spacious, extremely clean, well decorated and looked exactly like the photos in the description. Things like AC, TV, light and bathroom flush were functional. The staff was very warm and welcoming. They picked us up from the railway station as our train reached late at night. The food was good and reasonably priced too. The view of the fort while having food was a pleasant experience. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting.

The hotel's rooftop restaurant offers stunning views of the city's fort while serving delicious food. Visitors have praised the staff for their polite and welcoming behavior, as well as the well-organized desert safari tour that provides an authentic experience of desert lifestyle.
Loved the decor of the room. Rooftop in the early morning was very peaceful. Short walk (5min) to the fort's entrance. Service was tops. Hospitality was brilliant. We arrived early from the train (5:30am) and we were welcomed immediately on arrival. Our bags were looked after during the camel safari and afterwards we were allowed to use the room to shower and be refreshed before leaving early afternoon. Highly recommend this hotel.

Usually, I don’t leave reviews, but this place and its staff really earned it. My room was spacious and clean. They have a rooftop restaurant, which provides you with delicious meals. Location wise, it couldn’t be better. It’s barely a five minute walk to the fort and the old town. The staff is amazing. I booked an overnight camel safari with them and they let me stay in at their place until the next evening, providing me with a shower and a bed free of charge. They were also always very keen to help you with any question you might have. I can wholeheartedly recommend staying here when visiting Jaisalmer!
Lars V — Google review
We arrived at 5.30am off the night train and they let us into our room super early. Staff were accommodating, and the room was stunning. Lovely view of the fort from the roof and the room was very clean. Location only a short walk from the fort. We chose this hotel because we had booked the overnight Trotters Camel Safari - which I highly recommend. Yes, there are cheaper camel safaris but you will be in a tent city with hundreds of other tourists. We had a group of four, and it was just us in the desert. We were so looked after and sleeping under the stars was magical. It felt very authentic.
Elise D — Google review
I had a pleasant stay at Little Jaisa Haveli Jaisalmer. The rooms were clean, neat, and offered a beautiful view of the Jaisalmer Fort(there was a auto garage right outside the window bcos of which we had to keep the curtains closed all the time). The staff were polite and professional and helped us carry our bags. The room had a big cloth behind the bed probably bcoz of dampness. The location is peaceful yet conveniently close to the main attractions, most of which are within walking distance. It’s a great spot for those looking for comfort and quiet while staying in the heart of the city. However, I would not recommend their “Non-Tourist” Desert Safari. While it’s marketed as a more authentic experience, it’s quite expensive and lacks basic amenities — no tents or washrooms are provided, and guests are expected to sleep and relieve themselves in the open. If you're considering booking any tours, it might be better to explore other options.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Hotel Little Jaisal Haveli during our trip to Jaisalmer. We booked the family room for three nights and it turned out to be one of the best stays we’ve had in Rajasthan. The room was very spacious, spotless clean, and well maintained, giving us all the comfort we needed for a relaxed stay. The location is perfect – just near the fort, so we could easily walk around and explore the lanes, shops, and attractions of the old city. At the same time, it was peaceful and quiet at night, which made it even more enjoyable. The hospitality was excellent. The staff was always friendly and helpful, making us feel completely at home. They were quick to arrange everything we needed, from local tips to planning desert trips. It’s clear that they care a lot about their guests’ experience. We also enjoyed spending time at the rooftop, where you get a beautiful view of the fort, especially in the evening. It’s a great spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. Overall, our stay at Hotel Little Jaisal Haveli was much more than we expected. Clean, spacious rooms, a fantastic location near the fort, and warm hospitality made our Jaisalmer trip truly memorable. We would happily recommend this place to anyone visiting the city and would definitely love to come back again!

Loved this hotel, incredibly strong experience for the price. Everything was clean, everything worked, and the rooms looked and felt luxurious. Air con was very handy during the day if we came home from touring, and the rooftop was beautiful in the evening.

Great location. Shopping markets, Eateries and fort all walkable. Room is quite spacious and has nice art work inside. No hot water geyser in the room. Dessert Safari is very expensive from the hotel as compared to local agents. One big bedsheet was placed accross one of the walls to hide the damaged wall. There's a workshop just outside the window spoiling the view of the fort.

Very nice hotel on the feet of the city fort. The ratio price to quality is unbeatable and the staff is very nice. The rooftop terrace is very nice - it’s just a pity it looks toward the street and not the fort. You can reach the fort by foot - but rickshaw is more fun.

We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was very clean and comfortable. No windows which was nice to keep it quiet at night. The staff in unbelievably nice. They were very concerned that we had a good, quiet nights sleep. They helped with everything from where to shop, to eat and places to go. The rooftop terrace has a beautiful view while eating breakfast or relaxing at night. The best part was the camel safari that we booked through Amrit travels (affiliated with Hotel Shanti Home). It was absolutely the most “non touristic” safari experience. We took a jeep ride stopping at a few different places along the way. Had an amazing dinner cooked for us. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset, then chose to sleep on the sand, in the open instead of a cot. We felt that this was as remote as you could get. The staff and guides understood and spoke English very well. Hotel Shanti Home kept our bags during our excursion and allowed us a place to shower and relax before our bus arrived. I would highly suggest a stay here as well as the camel safari. If “non-touristic” is what you are looking for, this is it. Thank you Hotel Shanti Home and Amrit travels for an unforgettable stay in Jaisalmer.

I recently stayed at this place in Jaisalmer, and overall, it was a good experience. The host, Prathimesh ji, was very kind and helpful. He gave us great suggestions on places to visit around Jaisalmer, and it was nice chatting with him. The location was perfect - it's close to the Fort and lake, so we were able to explore everything on foot. The property itself had a good setup and plenty of space. However, there were a few things that could be improved. The room wasn't thoroughly cleaned, and I noticed dust accumulating in the corners. The mattress was also really uncomfortable - it was too soft and gave me a backache. It would have been nice to have hot water in the washbasin tap too. One thing that did concern me was the huge pile of red ants in the bathroom. Luckily, I spotted them in time and cleaned the area to avoid any accidents. Despite these issues, I would still recommend this place. With a bit of improvement, it could be a better place to stay in Jaisalmer .

We came here just for lunch and by the quality of the food and service, I believe the hotel is highly recommended too. Lala prepared non spicy food for us, cooked in the moment and it was amazing!!! There is a very nice terrace with fort view.

Marigold Home Stay and Safari is a well-located accommodation in the Gadsisar Lake district, just 500 meters from Jaisalmer Fort. The staff is known for being incredibly helpful and friendly, offering great recommendations and even allowing guests to keep their rooms late into the night without extra charges. The safari tour offered by the homestay provides a unique experience of sleeping in the desert, complete with friendly guides and amazing food.
I didn't stay here, but I did the desert tour with them. A simple journey, but full of grace. They cooked us over a fire and we slept looking at the stars, a renewing experience and totally recommended. Ashis allowed me to leave my suitcases for the day, take a shower in the hostel and also he left me to the bus. I came here because I ate a few days in the restaurant (good chai and soup) also the chef is a very friendly person. Thank you both for everything.

I stayed here for 2 nights and booked the desert tour through here. The homestay was great, good sized room and clean. The cafe also served good food, though the breakfast items seemed to be double the price that I could find elsewhere for some reason. The desert tour was great, I was initially sceptical hearing that I could get it cheaper elsewhere from people on the street, but who knows what service those guys offer. With the experience that I had, I am very satisfied and think it was good value - there were 1-3 people taking care of us us for nearly 24hr, the camel ride was fun and they cooked tasty food (no stomach issues). Our jeep driver Rosa spoke good English and was happy to share info and make sure we were all happy :) Thank you Ashish for being a kind host, it was lovely to meet you.

My stay at Marigold Homestay was absolutely wonderful! The place is clean, cozy, and full of charm. Ashish, the owner, is one of the kindest and most caring hosts I’ve met — he truly goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels comfortable and happy. The camel safari they organized was an unforgettable experience — fun, peaceful, and beautifully arranged. The food was delicious, the hospitality was genuine, and the price was very fair for what you get. Everything was handled perfectly, and Ashish was always there to help with anything we needed.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Marigold. Ashish was incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed to have a good time. We booked our safari through them and that experience was authentic and exactly what we were looking for. The location was excellent and we ate at Kim's Cafe which is on the top level of the home stay. Some of the systems in the bathroom were outdated, but the rooms were very cute & clean. We really enjoyed our time at Marigold!

This was the highlight-stay of my two-month solo backpacking trip through India. Words cannot begin to describe how phenomenal the host was. He was incredibly welcoming and had an informative and safe demeanour, which, as a young woman travelling alone, is a very welcome relief. He gave me a small tour to help orient myself, told me about the history of the area and then we had chai and a great conversation. He has very pure intentions and is in the hospitality business, as he has an evident passion for cross-cultural exploration. He was immensely helpful and went above and beyond to wake up early to drive me and my bags to my 6am bus, he then waited until the bus arrived, spoke with the driver to ensure I would not miss the stop for my destination and to make sure I was okay. This meant so much to me, and I greatly appreciated his genuine caring nature for the guests, no gimmicks and he expected nothing in return. The location of the accommodations was prime, a cute rooftop location in the old city with a terrace and comfortable rooms. The power would occasionally go off which was a challenge to plan around but not impossible. This is due to the location being in such an old area and was common for the surrounding locations in the Fort. It was not a big deal. Truly a memorable experience, and I would recommend this location to anyone visiting Jaisalmer.

Best stay in all of Rajasthan! Asish was friendly, helpful and a down to earth guy. The whole place was very nicely decorated and the location is brilliant. We booked the camel trek through the hostel which was so much fun! Absolute highlight of my trip. We loved our guides, Akbur and Hussain, they were caring and forever cheerful. Thank you for the unforgettable memories!

Great Homestay inside the fort right near the entrance. Clean cozy rooms with basic amenities. Ashish was an amazing host. He helped us book our tour and personal took us through the fort. He even made us food when we arrived late at night. We booked our desert experience through marigold. It was a very authentic experience. We camped on a quite little sand dune out in the desert. The attached cafe also has great food for a good price. We throughly enjoyed our experience with marigold. We would stay here again!

Everything about our stay here was just FANTASTIC! The host Jamin and his staff are wonderful and really took care of us! The space is filled with beautiful art, clean and cozy rooms, great rooftop cafe and wonderful location right next to the fort. We also joined the ‘non-tourist’ desert camp and it was the best experience of my life. Nothing beats cooking, being merry, and sleeping under the stars! Don’t hesitate to book this place! :)

We recently visited the Crazy Camel Hotel, which is conveniently located near the fort and easy to find. The rooms are small and lack windows, which caused a noticeable odor due to poor ventilation. However, the owner is cooperative and accommodating. One of the highlights is the terrace, which offers a beautiful view of the fort. The hotel also has a canteen on the top floor, though the prices are on the higher side. Overall, the terrace is a great spot to enjoy the view. The last thing the owner is cooperative.

Hotel owner tried to take extra 1500 from me, for a trip to Indo-Pak where there's nothing interesting to see. Actually He was trying to stuff me inside a taxi rented by some other lady tourist. Basically what these guys do is fill the vacant tents in other desert camp services in desert. Base rate is around 1250. If you bargain the rate will start to go from 4000 to 2000. These guys operate based on a Crazy Camel Hotel in Jaisalmer. Desert camp is not worth more than 1500. Adding photo proof because the owner asked for proof in comment. You can see crazy camel hotel in the background

The rooms are very clean and comfortable, with everything you need to relax. The rooftop is definitely a highlight — peaceful and cozy, with an incredible view of the fort, especially at sunset. The atmosphere here is so warm and welcoming. You arrive as a guest but leave as a friend. A special thanks to Jamin, the amazing host, who makes you feel at home from the very first moment. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic experience here. The hostel was so clean and the staff were excellent. The food was lovely. The experience of going to the desert on the camels was fantastic. We stayed one night in the desert. It felt like a very authentic experience. We slept out on the sand with blankets under the stars. The staff cooked us delicious food. Overall I would highly recommend the hostel and the desert camping

This is an amazing hostel! We had a very nice room right next to the fort. The room was super clean and very nice decorated. We enjoyed the accomodation a lot! We also did a safari tour and it was an epic experience. They offer an non-touristic tour where you go to parts of desert which are less touristic. We were gone for the whole day (24h+), compared to other safaris where you are away for less than 12 hours. We had such a friendly guide, Akbar, who prepared some amazing food and was really helpful. The tour and the hostel are a big recommendation!!

Great place to stay. Super chill! Family run. The terrace is a great hangout spot and the restaurant has delicious coffee and food. The rooms are clean and comfy. An easy walk to the fort entrance. I came with my husband and two small children. We also did the camel trek with them for a fair price and had an amazing experience off the tourist path. It was easy just to book through the guesthouse rather than shopping around on the streets.

I really recommend them and for sure we'll see each other soon! Asia

Jaisalmer Fort is a massive 12th-century fortified city with ornate Jain temples featuring idols and stone carvings. The fort, established by Rawal Jaisal, offers a glimpse into the history of the city.
Jaisalmer Fort is truly a living wonder — a golden citadel rising from the desert sands! Unlike most forts in India, this one is alive with people, homes, shops, cafés, and temples inside its walls. Walking through its narrow lanes feels like stepping into a different era — full of history, culture, and local life. The fort’s honey-golden sandstone glows beautifully, especially during sunrise and sunset. The intricate carvings on the walls, balconies, and Jain temples are simply mesmerizing. Don’t miss the Raja Ka Mahal, Jain Temples, and the viewpoints overlooking the city — the panoramic view of Jaisalmer from the top is unforgettable. There are many rooftop cafés inside the fort where you can enjoy a cup of chai while watching the desert sunset — it’s pure magic. The locals are friendly, and most shops sell lovely handicrafts and souvenirs.

I visited Jaisalmer Fort last weekend and it was an amazing experience! The fort beautifully showcases the rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture of Rajasthan. Walking through the golden stone pathways felt like traveling back in time. The intricate carvings, ancient structures, and colorful local markets inside the fort are truly fascinating. One of the highlights was the night view — with the fort lit up in golden lighting, it looked absolutely stunning! The illuminated walls create an eye-catching view that’s truly unforgettable. The sunset and night scenes together make this place even more magical. Overall, a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Rajasthan. Highly recommended!

Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Quila (Golden Fort), is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the city of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. It is one of the few "living forts" in the world, with shops, hotels, and a substantial portion of the city's population still residing within its walls. Opening hours: The fort itself is open to the public 24/7, as it's a living city. However, the Fort Palace Museum has specific hours (8 a.m.–6 p.m. from April to October and 9 a.m.–6 p.m. from November to March). Entry fee: While there is no entry fee to enter the fort, access to the Fort Palace Museum and the Jain Temples has associated fees. Best time to visit: The cooler months between October and March are the most comfortable for exploring the fort and the city. Palaces: Explore the Maharawal Palace (Raj Mahal), the former residence of the Maharawal of Jaisalmer, to see the extravagant lifestyle of the erstwhile rulers. Jain Temples: A cluster of seven finely carved Jain temples dating from the 12th to 15th centuries can be found within the fort complex. Haveli architecture: The fort contains numerous intricately carved merchant havelis made from yellow sandstone, including the 15th-century Vyas Haveli. Strategic location: The fort was strategically placed on Trikuta Hill, along the ancient Silk Route, which brought immense prosperity to the city.

Jaisalmer fort is situated in the heart of city. Jaisalmer is also known as Golden city. Almost one fourth of the oldest city population resides within the fort premises. Jaisalmer fort is second oldest fort of Rajsthan build by ruler Jaisal in 1156 AD. This fort built by yellow sandstone and the entire city was also built with same sandstone. Due to this reason only, this city is also known as Golden city. This fort is controlled and maintained by Archiological Survey of India (ASI). This fort is very attractive. Many foreign visitors also coming throughout the year to visit this fort and nearby ancient architecture. Famous Sam sand Dunes situated nearly 15-20 km away from Jaisalmer fort. Anyone can visit this place along with their family and friends. Suitable time to visit this place is from October to February.

Absolutely beautiful living fort. People live inside the fort and many old houses are converted into guest houses and restaurants. There is a jain temple which is located on the right portion of the fort and is a must visit. Taking a guide is recommended, they explain the history and walk you through the narrow lanes. A guide booth is located near the car parking and they announce it on speaker also, do not take guides waiting and stopping the cars nearby. One issue is for parking. On a busy day, its very hard to find the parking and authorities are only interested to collect the parking charges. They do not stop any vehicle near the entry where they collect Rs.60 for parking even after parking gets full and you are left on your own. Wastes huge amount of time. If you stay outside the fort and can’t reach early, take an auto rickshaw to avoid this frustration.

Perched atop the Trikuta Hill amid the golden sands of the Thar Desert, Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Quila (The Golden Fortress), is a breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site built by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 AD. Its defining feature is the construction from yellow sandstone, which shimmers with a brilliant golden hue, especially at sunrise and sunset. Uniquely, it is one of the world's few remaining "living forts," as nearly a quarter of the old city's population still resides within its formidable triple-layered walls. The fort served as a vital trading post on the ancient Silk Route and is a vibrant, intricate maze housing palaces, ornate Jain temples, bustling markets, and havelis (mansions), all of which exhibit a remarkable fusion of Rajput and Islamic architectural brilliance. ★ In this fort 3000 families are still living. Many hotels are inside in the fort.

It was a privilege to be able to stay in such a marvellous property. The Haveli, exquisitely maintained over the centuries, has retained a real sense of old-world charm. While the building itself feels ancient, the addition of modern amenities (private bathroom, air conditioning etc.) means you’ll be more than comfortable during your stay here. The room was clean, spacious and quiet with breathtaking views from the golden fort. The upstairs rooftop (additionally a restaurant) was also a fantastic spot to relax. The staff were all very well mannered and considerate. Dushyant left us something truly remarkable with this Haveli. We felt welcome here. We felt at home. Thank you Dushyant. Thank you Vimal, and everyone who contributed to making this an incredible experience

A wonderful little hotel with only several rooms in a 400 years old palace in the very center of the walled fortress of the 12th century. Great location, next to the Jain Temple, main attraction of the walled city and close to lovely roof top restaurant. The roof top terrace of the hotel is also a very nice quote place to spend some time in the evening, looking at the town below. We have staid in 3 different rooms and they were all different since it’s a historical palace, vue they all had a unique own character. The hotel manager and staff were very helpful, kind and accommodating.

We had a great time at the haveli. The place location is perfect, inside of Jaisalmer fort, just give minutes walking from the main gate. Service is good and the haveli and rooms are beautifully decorated. Just one issue was that one of the windows has a metal frame (the rest are sandstone and wood) and pigeons made a lot of noise when perching on that specific window. They actually woke us up early in the morning 😂. Other than that everything was great!
Andres R — Google review
I cannot praise this place enough; the owner, staff, and cook were amazing. Incredibly helpful and friendly. We were supposed to stay for two nights and changed our tickets *twice* and ended up staying for eight days. They have A/C, and the rooms are adorable and comfortable (and cheap). The cook in the rooftop restaurant is one of the best cooks in Jaisalmer. He trains other cooks, and he showed us how to cook a few dishes, as well. The rooftop view is beautiful, of course, and the location is perfect. The connections the staff have came in handy many times, and they were always happy to help. We will most definitely go back, and we will stay at Desert Haveli again.

The Desert Cultural Centre (Puppet Show) in Jaisalmer is a museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich heritage, art, and customs of Rajasthan. Located near the Jaisalmer Fort, this museum offers an immersive journey through Rajasthani history, art, music, and way of life. Visitors can explore ancient crafts and artisanal techniques that are integral to the cultural identity of Rajasthan. The centre also hosts a nightly puppet show for an entertaining experience.
Cultural Museum & Live Puppet Show – A Must-Visit Experience in Jaisalmer A truly enriching experience! This small yet impactful museum is dedicated to preserving the age-old Rajasthani tradition of puppet shows, which has been carried on by the same family for over 100 years. The dedication and passion of the performers shine through every minute of the show. The entry fee is ₹200, and there are two live puppet performances each evening (6:30–7:30 PM and 7:30–8:30 PM). It's more than just entertainment — it’s a glimpse into how storytelling and folklore were passed down through generations before modern media. I highly recommend tourists and locals alike to visit and support this incredible cultural effort. It's a rare chance to witness authentic Rajasthani heritage and help keep this beautiful art form alive.

A hidden gem in Jaisalmer! The Dessert Cultural Centre Museum offers a fascinating peek into Rajasthan's rich heritage. The puppet show was incredibly entertaining, and the museum itself is full of interesting artifacts. They also have a nice souvenir shop to pick up unique local crafts. Definitely worth a visit!

This was an absolutely brilliant puppet show and a very good price - 200 rupees for the puppet show and entry to the museum (for an international adult visitor, cheaper for locals and children). The puppets were beautiful and the music and puppetry were amazing to experience and very skilful. We loved the commentary as well which was amusing and very helpful to understand the show. We were also lucky enough to meet the founder of the museum who was lovely. It was also possible to buy puppets there for a very reasonable cost. We were mainly going for the puppet show but the museum had some interesting artifacts and we spent about 30 minutes there. There is also a lovely rooftop restaurant with a great view of Jaisalmer fort.

The personal introduction by the museum's enthusiastic director was awesome. You can ask any question about Rajasthan or life in India that might have come to your mind. He is a wealth of information. One can learn a lot about life in a desert and the history of Rajasthan in the museum. It looks a bit old fashioned, but it is really worth a look. In the end, the director even made a lovely puppet show with traditional music possible for us that otherwise wouldn't have happened on that specific day. Thanks a lot!!

I attended the evening puppet show. It was a great experience! Puppet show consisted of multiple stories and multiple characters, requiring skilled hands to move them in ways that is mesmerizing and fun 😊 Additionally, I visited the museum display they have near the puppet show stage. Good and authentic artifacts were at display. I bought some puppet souvenirs too from their shop. Highly recommend the fun and peppy puppet show! 😃

It very well engaged us and we had a miraculously wonderful time there. Us visiting the place was the best thing we did in jaisalmer. You cannot say you visited Jaisalmer without visiting this place and the vibe was fabulous.

Passionate people running the centre. The puppet show could be improved. A little pricey (Rs. 200 per person) while you can enjoy better and multiple types of performamces at other places including hotels and restaurants. Some of the artefacts in the museum were nice and better curation can increase the vibe of the place..

Hotel Moonlight in Jaisalmer is a relaxed and inviting lodging with spacious rooms and a rooftop vegetarian restaurant where guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast. This charming venue is perfect for hosting various cozy events such as birthday parties, social gatherings, and anniversary celebrations. Conveniently located just 2.7 minutes away from Jaisalmer Railway Station, the hotel is easily accessible by both private and public transportation.
I recently ordered a Thali, and while the food itself was genuinely good—flavors were balanced, portions generous, and everything felt freshly made—it was the little things that truly stood out and made the experience memorable. What impressed me the most wasn’t just the food (which, again, was great), but the attention to detail in the overall presentation. For instance, the mouth freshener was thoughtfully packed in a small, elegant pouch—something I’ve never come across in a typical restaurant setting. It’s such a simple gesture, yet it left a lasting impression. These seemingly small touches might go unnoticed by some, but for me, they elevated the entire dining experience. It’s these little surprises that can turn even a regular meal into something special. Not that this meal needed saving—but even if the food had been average, these details would’ve made up for it. In this case, it just amplified an already good meal. A big thumbs-up to whoever curated this experience—keep doing what you’re doing. It’s working.

Booked for Rs.7500 with clear trip. It is a Looting deal . Service is good. We have given room in ground floor. It is a dark room. U have light the room in day time. No proper ventilation. Staffs are cooperative. Food is ok.

Awesome food! Cheese naan served here is to die for. All items are good.. You might feel services a tad slow but it's because they serve piping hot lip smacking food.
Anurag B — Google review
This hotel is good in in case of luxury rooms. The restaurant facility is too poor with un-attentive staff. Just like they don't care if you reached there to avail any service. Staff behavior is money friendly, just cash out to them but they don't care what for you are paying. If anyone visiting for restaurant facility, I'll never recommend because the staff even doesn't care about maintaining hygienic place for people. Many time you have to request to dust out the dining table, else you will get served without even dusting out. Room are costly in comparison with facility and rent charge. It's your choice to avail the facility. My recommendation is NO to restaurant facility. 20% recommended for room facility.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Golden House Hotel in Jaisalmer, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The hotel's excellent hospitality, spacious rooms, friendly staff, and mouth-watering food made our stay truly special. The rooms were incredibly spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The staff were really friendly, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. But the highlight of our stay was the food - it was simply the best! The hotel's culinary team did an outstanding job of serving delicious, authentic dishes that left us craving for more. Good location, average property and terrible management. I booked the hotel through Makemy trip requesting for early check in the owner was helpful as it was too early, i was accommodated for 5 hours in a hotel next door. For which i was charged rs.500. However my room was not ready even after 1200h and an unprepared room was handed over to me as can be seen in the photos. If this was not enough the hotel staff shifted my personal belongings from my allotted room to some other room in my absence without even informing me. The owner instead of accepting the mistake aggressively tried to convince that it is normal and kept on harping about the 'help' in early check in for which i was charged. I am regular visitor to Jaisalmer and have stayed at few very nice hotels, this experience was terrible to say the least.

I recently spent three wonderful days at The Golden House in Jaisalmer, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment I arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff made me feel right at home. The hotel is beautifully designed, capturing the charm of Jaisalmer’s rich heritage. My room was not only impeccably clean but also tastefully decorated, offering a perfect blend of traditional aesthetics and modern comforts. The view from the hotel was absolutely breathtaking, showcasing the golden hues of the city’s iconic sandstone architecture. One of the highlights of my stay was the rooftop restaurant. The food was delicious, with a variety of local Rajasthani dishes that truly captured the essence of the region. The staff deserves a special mention—they were attentive, courteous, and always ready to assist with a smile. They also helped me plan my sightseeing, ensuring I didn’t miss any of Jaisalmer’s gems, such as the Fort, the Havelis, and the sand dunes. The Golden House offers a perfect combination of comfort, culture, and exceptional service. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Jaisalmer, and I can’t wait to return for another stay!

Nestled in the heart of Jaisalmer, Hotel Gulaal is a luxurious boutique haven that perfectly blends traditional Rajasthani charm with modern comforts. Just a stone's throw away from iconic attractions like Jaisalmer Fort and the Folklore Museum, this hotel offers airy rooms and suites adorned with exquisite local crafts. Guests can unwind at the serene garden pool or indulge in rejuvenating treatments at the full-service spa.
This was my second visit to Jaisalmer. During my first trip, I stayed at Suryagarh, and this time I chose Gulaal. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about the hotel, but all my concerns disappeared as soon as I arrived. The property is stunning, with large, spacious rooms that are impeccably clean and hygienic. What truly stood out to me was the exceptional service—they go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable, from the front desk to the restaurant staff. I dined at the hotel almost every day, and the food was consistently delicious. Thank you, Gulaal, for an incredible and memorable stay!

Wonderful hotel, really clean, nice rooms and decoration, nice shower. excellent service, everybody was kind and helped us when we needed to. Nice view from our balcony and on the fort at the restaurant. Food was good. We loved it.
Anick C — Google review
Hotel Gulaal was our 5th home during our 12 day trip to Rajasthan. While the location is faily interior and secluded from the main road one need not worry since the approach road is wide and cars can enter/exit at ease. Upon reaching the property tired after a long day of sight seeing, we were warmly greeted by the staff and surprised us with a room upgrade from Deluxe to Maharani Suite. This was such a plesant surprise which made our stay even better. Talking about the service and restaurant, both were excellent. Service was top notch and the food was delicious. The only odd rule they have with food service is that they do not deliver anything to the room and there is a set menu for breakfast which you need to choose in advance. We did not feel this as an inconvenience since we understand that they were trying to maintain the clealiness and rat infestation. Talking about the ambience, you get a great panaromic view of the city and fort with gazebo styled tables which can offer a lovely ambience for groups. Overall we enjoyed our stay and wish going back again I would highly recommend Hotel Gulal if you are looking for a great stay while visiting Jaisalmer!
Chetan A — Google review
We stayes in Gulaal for four nights at the end of a month's travelling around Rajasthan. It is a delightful haveli, the restaurant serves good food with the best view of the fort in town. But what really sets Gulaal apart is its exceptional hospitality and service. The staff are all so welcoming and attentive. If you have a chance book the hotel's desert safari - they take you to much quieter places than the more touristic trips sold in town - we were alone amongst the sand dunes. We really recommend Gulaal to anyone visiting Jaisalmer, and also suggest staying for more than the usual one or two nights. There is plenty to see in the area.
Robin W — Google review
We enjoyed a fabulous stay at the Gulaal Hotel - it is a wonderful Haveli-style property, very well maintained and quite luxurious. The owner and service staff at the hotel were very warm, friendly, polite and courteous. The hospitality provided by the hotel staff was top notch. The hotel has an in-house restaurant offering vegetarian food and egg options. It also has a small gym, swimming pool and spa. The rooms were quite big and spacious, very clean and well maintained with all amenities. The hotel staff also arranged for auto-rickshaw (tuk-tuks) and cabs to visit all the tourist attractions. They also offer excellent guidance and advice to plan your Jaisalmer trip effectively. We absolutely loved the desert camp safari experience they booked for us. They also provided an airport pickup and drop cab service and the driver was excellent too.

One of the very very good hotels, Gulaal Haveli provides a boutique experience with great views of the fort and top notch rooms. They have a gorgeous pool and extremely good service. On top of that, their food was great. We had lunch there once and it was simply great! Must stay in Jaisalmer.

Pathetic hotel. The location is bad. Rooms are smelly, dysfunctional heater, even television, no toiletry provided and highly over priced. Their uploaded photos are all deviating. The reality is fast more worse. The staff is untrained, even the room privacy is compromised. The toilets smell bad. Flush doesn't work properly. Horrible experience.
Anand K — Google review
Worst experience ever! First of all, rooms have bathroom inside with a divide wall that is not full which is disgusting. No mirror inside the room, only in the bathroom, which is fogged up and you can't use that to get ready or put makeup. They will coax you into taking package for desert safari and stay in desert for a night... Big hoax... You can avail it for lesser price outside, jeep safari u can avail outside for 1000 for a longer time and camel safari for just 100. Try ranau sand dunes instead of sam sand dunes for safari... It's less crowded and you will get worth your money... You can reach tanot by your car if you have... u can get pass for tanot, it's only filling car number and aadhar number, bring your original aadhar card and it is sorted. Parking is okay near the hotel. Location of hotel is easy to find. Hotel service is worst. Food is bad, tea is bad as well. Hot water facility is not available 24/7. We wanted to get off hotel by morning 5 am for our next plans. We did inform them previous day but they didn't provide hot water. I kept calling but even after an hour did not get hot water. My plans were delayed and ended up cancelling some. And moreover it kept me upset the whole day! One the service personnel criticised me not knowing hindi when I asked for wifi password. If you cannot accommodate non hindi speakers then please put a notice as well. Managers were good but the room service boy had a lot of attitude and all this problem occured. Please teach the boys about customer service.

The hotel rooms were clean and hygienic. The staff was very helpful in providing the auto facilities for us to travel within the city and for shopping. The food was very good and clean with a pretty view on their rooftop restaurant. The overall stay has been very comfortable and good. Recommend to book here while you are in Jaisalmer to have a comfort stay and easy access to all the major tourist places.

Hotel Helsinki House is a charming heritage hotel located on the outskirts of Jaisalmer. The owner, Ali Khan, named it after the city that allowed him to fulfill his childhood dream. The comfortable rooms feature hardwood floors, Jharokha-style window seats, and marble bathrooms. Guests can enjoy desert views and camel rides while staying at this quiet place. The hotel offers a courtyard and a rooftop eatery with stunning views of the fort.

My wife stayed here with two female friends. The hotel was well maintained (everything works!). The hotel was clean with chic decor and high quality food and the staff were courteous. This hotel runs a very nice desert camp as well, which makes the whole trip smooth and more relaxing.

I recently visited to this hotel. This hotel has good ambience outside but when we enter the hotel it was terrible. The hotel lobby was very dirty. The hotel room was very disappointing. The room had damp smell and the bedding where very dirty. The hotel room was lacking basic amenities. The hotel didn't provide us with electric kettle, water bottles, tea and coffee arrangements. They didn't have hot water in bathrooms also. The towels where dirty. Coming to food, we ordered shahi paneer and chapati. Shahi paneer was bland and lack all taste. Roti was so thick. And on top of this they refused the morning breakfast which was included in our package. They charged us Rupees 7000/- for one night. But this room was not more than Rupees 2000/- . We had very bad experience.

All the reviews which says this is good hotel are fake, this is absolutely terrible hotel for this price. Only the building looks good from outside but the rooms are very old and not cleaned at all. The toilets and bed are not clean and the bedsheets has hairs from other guests

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room was dirty, AC remote was not provided despite multiple requests and the extra bed was not provided on time despite requesting multiple times. They said that that it was changed over time and we would have to wait for the next batch of staff to come to get our extra bed. At around 10:30 pm one of the staff came and just rudely threw the extra bed and sheets on the floor and left. We had to make the bed ourselves. If there were an option for Zero stars I would have selected that.

Extremely bad experience at this hotel! Except the outside look of the hotel and its palace like look, there is absolutely nothing good in this hotel. The staff doesn't respond on time, the quality of food is pathetic, the service is absolutely not what you would expect in a hotel which claims to be a 3-star hotel. Further, the rooms are extremely unclean, you may find spiders crawling with you while you are asleep. The bathrooms do not drain. Overall, if you are spending so much money on a hotel room, better book it somewhere else and not here!

**Scam Alert** A Horrible Experience at Desert Moon Hotel - Avoid It at All Costs! I recently stayed at Desert Moon Hotel, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. This place seems like a scam, and I regret not reading reviews before booking. First off, the online booking process was a complete rip-off. The photos online don’t even remotely resemble the reality of this dump. What was promised in terms of amenities and quality is nothing but a lie. Upon arrival, I was shocked to find the room was in a terrible state—dust everywhere, a musty smell in the air, and the furniture looked like it hadn't been touched in years. There were no towels, no soap, and absolutely no toilet paper. When I called the front desk to ask for these essentials, the staff had zero knowledge of hospitality and seemed annoyed that I even asked. After waiting for over an hour, they finally brought the bare minimum, but it was clear they couldn't care less. The room had no latches on the doors, which is extremely concerning, especially for women traveling alone. The lack of basic security was alarming. I didn't feel safe at all and couldn't even lock the door properly. The bathroom was disgusting—dirty, with stains on the walls, and a toilet that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. I couldn't even bring myself to use it, so I had to leave the hotel and find somewhere else to go. In short, Desert Moon Hotel is a scam. They have no understanding of basic hospitality and don't seem to care about the comfort or safety of their guests. This hotel is a disaster, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Save your money and your peace of mind by staying far away from this place!

Hotel Desert Moon has a nice heritage vibe with beautiful sandstone interiors. The rooms are clean and spacious, offering a comfortable stay. The rooftop view is great, especially at sunset, though the food is just okay and service can be a bit slow. What stands out is the hospitality—staff are really polite and helpful, making the stay feel homely. They assist with travel plans and desert safaris, which is a plus. The location is convenient, close to Jaisalmer Fort and other spots. Overall, it’s a budget-friendly stay with a peaceful vibe. Good for those looking for an authentic yet comfortable Jaisalmer experience.

Wish there was an option for zero stars, we went through a group tour, but the hotel was one of the worst from all the other rooms we stayed in the entire tour. The rooms were not at all clean. None of the rooms given to the entire group was clean. Bed sheets or pillowcases were not changed. Toilet was very very dirty. No jet spray in toilet still in old fashioned style only one bucket and mug for both bath and toilet. Entire building stinking like toilet. Very dusty in every possible corner. Any healthy person will fall sick if they stay here for even few hours. When told the hotel manager that the rooms were dirty he kept arguing that the rooms very clean. But I am sure rooms were not cleaned for ages. Overall worst experience.

Only good thing about hotel is location. It located near to fort and you will get nice view of fort in the day and the night. But, service wise it's okay. You may find difficulty for getting hot water. Then no tea or breakfast till 9 am, intrestingly check out time is morning 9 am. Dinner and Breakfast area was not cleaned. Probably not ready to handle Xmas holidays crowd.

Few good things about this hotel, Ganpat Singh ji who runs this hotel is a wonderful person, very very helpful, helped us even after checkout. Location is superb, located very nearer to the fort Sonar Kella. Room- Clean room, specious too, we got a room with extra bed arrangements on two big and wide windows. Bathroom- Clean, specious, with Hot and cold water supply. Lift- Available Parking- Available Food- Had breakfast in this hotel and that was very good Point for improvement- Though peoples are polite, still service could have been fast.

Ganpat Singh is a wonderful administrator of this hotel who is extremely careful to the customers. The price of the rooms is considerable. Very clean, soft bed. Amazing designer wall, lift facility, water supply, AC and non AC available. The manager is helping customers to visit Sam sand dunes, Kuldhara escape village at a very reasonable price. This hotel has standard car parking space for their guest's car or bus. Water quality is very nice and they have rooftop restaurant which is fast and tasty food server. We were very satisfied with this hotel. We strongly recommend this hotel for family and single tourist too.

The hotel features comfortable rooms with various amenities such as air conditioning, terrace, garden, restaurant, bar, fitness center, tennis court, and valet parking. It is conveniently situated near the historic Jaisalmer Fort and lively bazaars.
This property stands out as one of the best I’ve experienced so far. It’s unique and cannot be compared to a typical resort or hotel. The architecture transports you back in time, offering a truly distinctive experience of staying in a heritage property. While it exudes an old-world charm, the service and facilities are impressively modern. Highly recommended and absolutely worth experiencing at least once!

Great location if you want to explore the city. All places including the Jaisalmer fort are at a walking distance. The hotel is part of a heritage haveli and you can experience that in the hotel and the room. Highlight was the breakfast in the morning - genuine and great local food. Hospitality overall was good. But the rooms are not luxury rooms. They are basic. Overall good experience.

Location is great only 10 minutes from the fort. The Haveli is also visually stunning especially the views from the roof top. However, the room we had as well as the dining area appear a little 'tired' & in need of a little tlc. We have stayed in other similar Havelis on this trip & if I had to.rate them this one would be last.

We visited Jaisalmer on 28th December and stayed at Nachana Haveli for 3 nights. The hotel is a heritage property. The rooms are decent. A few rooms are quite good. However the property rooms are not exactly like a conventional room. The rooms in the central veranda on the corners feel like a cave because they are quite deep and with. Curved ceiling with a very little ventilation. However since it was quite cold at the time we visited the same didn’t matter much. The first room which I was given was a bit problematic. The bed was not proper. The bed springs could be felt and were uncomfortable as the bed was suppressed on one side. Upon complaint Mr. Newaidya who was at the reception helped me get another room from the second day. The food of the restaurant was good. It was a roof top restaurant and we enjoyed the food and music there. The hotel made some good arrangements for us with bon fire and roof top party and dinner. Overall it was a great experience and a decent stay. It was also cost effective. The place is situated in the middle of the city walkable from the fort.

42Jaisalmer Airport

Airport
Domestic airport
Jaisalmer Airport, located 13km outside the city, is a strategic hub hosting both an Air Force Base and the only Civil Airport in the area. The airport is small but well-maintained and operates flights to Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Mumbai through SpiceJet. It's recommended to carry your own food and water as options are limited at the airport. The surrounding area is quiet with no shops or houses nearby.
Jaisalmer Airport (IATA JSA) offers a mixed experience for travellers heading to the heart of Rajasthan’s desert, and while it has definite advantages, it also comes with notable caveats. On the positive side, its location just about 12-15 km from the city centre of Jaisalmer makes it extremely convenient: arriving here means you can be in the city and exploring the famous fort and sand dunes in short order. The terminal infrastructure is modern and thoughtfully designed, with a single runway of 2,743 metres (9,000 ft) that can handle medium-sized aircraft, and a civil enclave built by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) that reflects the region’s architectural sensibilities. For tourists eager to explore the Thar Desert, the short transfer time from the airport to the city’s landmarks is a major plus. However, some aspects need careful consideration. Flight connectivity remains limited and appears seasonal — not all carriers serve Jaisalmer frequently, and in some months options may be very scarce or absent, meaning you might have to rely on ground travel from nearby airports instead. Indeed, several travellers have reported that bookings were difficult outside peak tourist windows. Additional amenities at the airport are modest: food outlets, shops, and lounges are fewer than larger hubs, and during quiet periods services may feel minimal. Ground-transport options are available but fares can be higher, especially given the remote location and low competition. On balance, if you’re visiting Jaisalmer during peak season and want the convenience of arriving close to the city, Jaisalmer Airport offers a strong choice. But if you’re travelling in off-peak months or require extensive connectivity and facilities, you may want to double-check flight schedules or consider alternative arrival points.
MR. K — Google review
This is a very small airport. It is 15 kms far the main city which can be covered in 20 mins easily. Airport has only 1 terminal. This airport operates only 4 to 5 flights a day. Check in process is seamless and staff is supportive. You will only need half n hour to complete all the check in security process. Reaching 1 to 1½ hour earlier will also do. This is under miltary so you will find everything on point and clean. It has 1 small kiosk which has some rolls, sandwich and cold drinks. Prices are normal compared to other airports. It has ample of space for parking.
Darshan D — Google review
This one operates only in tourist season from Oct 1 to 1 April. Hence there are no restaurants or any commercial activities inside this airport(except 1 small fast food kiosk after security check in before boarding flight ) . But this is just 17 kms from city and takes less than 20 mins by cab. Hence still manageable.
PRASHANTH P — Google review
When your flight for jaisalmer one thing never forget that's the food please carry some snacks of anything else beacause there is only one shop which is under in local person may be an they charge very highly for products like if product value 1rs they charge x15 means 15rs 1biscuit price Rs.500/ 1chips packt Rs.600/ 1chocolate Rs 530/ Carry your own food never buy from jaisalmer airport👍🏻
Rajdeep T — Google review
Small airport in the middle of the desert with less traffic, flights are mainly to Delhi.
Bubloom S — Google review
This Airport is located quite distance from the city and is very strategic as it hosts a Air Force Base and the only Civil Aiport in the sector. Though it's small but clean and well-maintained. Food and water bottles is generally not available here so it's suggested to carry on your own. Though drinking water services are present. Security is very strict and repitative times checking is present. As of now only SpiceJet operates a few handful routes to Delhi , Ahmedabad, Jaipur etc. But sometimes the Airport is closed due to renovation or low patronage. So check before planning your visit. Autos and Cabs are present for travelling to city but they charge high fares, so make sure to bargain to get the correct fare.
Soham M — Google review
Let's start with the location it's far from the city. The roads to the airport are not that good and lack of road signs also makes it difficult. So I'm not considering that for this review as this is about the airport. The place is small just one building. When you enter there is a place for waiting but the AC is off and they only switch On the fans. The check in process is slightly different here.Nothing much is available to eat. After the security check there is another place to wait tgis plCe has AC but again not effective. The bathrooms wet clean and we'll maintained.

Mud Mirror Guest House is a basic accommodation located on the southern edge of Jaisalmer Fort overlooking a neighbouring Jain temple and old city below. The guest house consists of four rooms with decent bathrooms and a rooftop terrace serving Rajasthani thali. The friendly hosts, Surya and Lalaji, can help arrange desert trips and can also serve you a mean meal from their restaurant onsite.
We had a wonderful stay at the mud mirror house - Jaisalmer Fort. Visiting in December, the weather was pleasant, and the people at stay were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from the Jain temple. The in-house restaurant served freshly prepared and delicious food, though service might take a little time due to the fresh preparation. The place offers stunning views both during the day and at night. Despite the cold weather outside, the mud mirror house inside was cozy and comfortable. Highly recommend staying here for a memorable experience when visiting Jaisalmer!

Best place on fort, hospitality at its best. Mr Lala made us very comfortable, the view is incredible, you get 360 degree view from top of the cafe, clean rooms clean washroom and u can explore Jaisalmer while actually living inside the fort. Must visit place
Swapnil S — Google review
From the moment we were picked up at the square, the staff guided us to the fort and introduced us around the area. We met the owner, Lala, who personally showed us to our room. The room itself is spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view of the city to the left and an up-close-and-personal view of a temple to the right. The guesthouse also has a lovely rooftop restaurant. We went on a desert jeep tour organized by the hotel, which included a chef who cooked for us in the sand. While the chef prepared our meal, we wandered around the quiet desert. Unfortunately, our stargazing plans were disrupted by a sandstorm, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The hospitality at Mud Mirror is exceptional. We had a late bus the next day and with the heat that day, he kindly offered us a vacant room to rest before our departure. The tuktuk driver he arranged also wait to make sure we got on the right bus safely. From the kitchen staff to the team on the ground and the owner himself, the experience reflects true teamwork and genuine care. Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning stay at Mud Mirror. It was incredible to stay inside the fort and the rooms had stunning views! All the staff were very friendly and gave great recommendations (including camel safari). The terrace/rooftop restaurant was a great way to take in views and get delicious food (with no time limitations for breakfast food vs lunch etc). Communication was very easy via WhatsApp. The room was beautiful and bathroom was decent (especially considering it had to be retrofitted into the fort). Hot water can be inconsistent- but a cool shower was just what we needed due to the hot weather. Jaisalmer power can be inconsistent all over so sometimes AC would cut out, but would usually come back soon. Highly recommend staying here!

Wonderfully situated next to the fantastic Jain Tempel with a view to the desert. The room itself was a reason to stay here. Very(!) friendly staff. This was one of the best stays I ever had in India.
Joerg B — Google review
The view from the hotel was absolutely amazing.. The entire city was visible and looked stunning. On the back side, Jain Temple was visible.. However, we had to park our car outside the fort, and there’s a long, steep path that you need to climb every time to reach the hotel. The rooms and washrooms were clean and well-maintained, and the staff was kind and helpful. The food was okay, nothing special. One small disappointment was that they didn’t offer even a single complimentary water bottle, and the bottled water they sold cost ₹10 more than the market price. Otherwise, it’s a good place with a great view and warm hospitality.
Parsh S — Google review
I stayed for a night here in late Jan 2025. The Good: I love my stay here in the Fort! Didn't expect such hospitality! We were welcomed with complimentary chai masala and our room was cosy. The best part is undoubtedly the ease of access to the sunrise in the morning. No need to get out to the rooftop. The endless horizon is there for you and you just need to flip open the curtains. It is also next to the cluster of Jain temples. You could spy on the religious men and tourists from their rooftop. Their vegetarian menu is recommendable as well if you are tired of walking and want a meal. The Not So Good: Nothing much. Everything is alright. Waiting for the hot water to run takes a bit of patience and 1.5 buckets of water. 😂 Don't bother with the aircon. It's not workable, but that's fine as winter is chilly and there's a ceiling fan. Other Notes: There's no ride hailing app in Jaisalmer, so either haggle with the tuk-tuk driver from the airport or inform the accoms about your intention a day before. It costs around 500 rupees from the airport to the foot of the fort.

From the people who work there, who are very kind and helpful, always trying to help you with everything and making you feel at ease, to the structure of the hotel, good room, good bathroom, everything extremely clean and with a pleasant smell throughout the hotel. In addition, the details of the hotel are incredible (lots of decoration and art) in addition to the characteristic architecture of the city. I highly recommend it.

A warm and welcoming boutique hotel with amazing rooftop views overlooking the city. Our clean and spacious room was tastefully decorated and had all the amenities one could want. Staff was friendly and helpful and assisted us with local sightseeing activities and transportation to the airport. Within walking distance from the fort and local sights. I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely put it on our itinerary for our next trip back to Jaisalmer!

I don't normally write reviews on hotels we stay at, but feel I should commend this place publicly. It is so well run by lovely competent staff and was a joy to stay at. The service was outstanding. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food was terrific. A little boutique gem in Jaiselmer.

Sonaar Haveli: A Home Away From Home in Jaisalmer If you’re looking for an experience that goes beyond the standard hotel stay, Sonaar Haveli is the place to be. This boutique property is a true gem in Jaisalmer, offering a blend of eclectic design, outstanding hospitality, and unforgettable moments that make it feel more like a home than a hotel. The decor is stunning, with every detail—from the reception and lounge to the dining room and bedrooms—thoughtfully designed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Even the crockery, sourced from Good Earth, reflects the care and aesthetics of this boutique space. One of the standout features of Sonaar Haveli is its food. The chef is truly talented, delivering exceptional dishes that were delicious and memorable—far exceeding expectations for a small boutique property. The real magic, however, lies in the people. The staff are incredibly warm and attentive, treating guests like family. Special mention must go to Mahavir Singh, Umaid Singh, and Uday Singh, who made our stay extraordinary. Mahavir Singh ensured that we were comfortable throughout our visit, while Umaid Singh arranged a special dinner at Rang Mahal that was beautifully organized and truly unforgettable. Uday Singh provided seamless service, always going above and beyond to ensure our happiness. Our last evening was made even more special with a private rooftop dinner, organized with such thought and care that it became one of the most memorable moments of our trip. Sonaar Haveli is not just a place to stay; it’s an experience that stays with you. Leaving felt like saying goodbye to family. If you’re looking for a memorable, heartfelt stay that’s more special than any big 5-star property, Sonaar Haveli is the perfect choice.

We felt very confortable here: everything was really clean, room and bed very confortable and the overall haveli is wonderful on the inside. Really recommend staying here if you have some more rupees to spend then usual. We are very grateful for all the staff's care.

Courteous staff and delicious food with various vegetarian & non-vegetarian options. We had a family holiday in January 2024 and we had comfortable stay. Rooms are spacious and with all modern amenities. This property is centrally located with various food options and local sights nearby. Loved the place, service & hospitality. Mr. Mahaveer is the manager of the hotel, took care of us very well from checking in till check out (There was a personal touch). Explained places we should cover based on time we had in Jaisalmer. Highly recommended for family. We had breakfast it was too good in terms of quality and quantity. Loved the aesthetic sense of rooms specially washroom.

One of the best hotels in Jaisalmer, although rooms are small. It is indeed a boutique hotel. Loved the lights, wallpapers & cutlery. Breakfast was really good, everything tasted great except upma. Full marks for location as its one of the cleanest areas of Jaisalmer, unlike rest of the city. Most of Jaisalmer hotels have a lot of hyped up reviews, but not this one, do visit!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Sonar Haveli, and I must say that the service provided by the managers Mahavir Singh and Uday Singh was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine willingness to ensure that our stay was nothing short of perfect. Their attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent service truly made our experience memorable. The food at Hotel Sonar Haveli was simply excellent. Chator Singh and the kitchen staff consistently delivered delicious meals that exceeded our expectations. Each dish was prepared with care and presented beautifully. The variety of options available catered to all tastes, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. We were thoroughly impressed with the culinary offerings during our stay. Our room at Hotel Sonar Haveli was not only very clean but also beautifully appointed. It was evident that the hotel's staff takes great pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and comfort. The attention to detail in the room's design and upkeep did not go unnoticed, and we appreciated the effort that was put into ensuring that our accommodation was up to the mark. Additionally, the hotel's interior was nothing short of magnificent. The aesthetic appeal of the hotel's decor was striking, and it enhanced the overall ambiance of the property. The attention to detail in the design and furnishings added a touch of elegance to our entire stay. The beauty of the hotel's interior truly added to the overall experience, making our time there even more enjoyable. As travelers with super bikes, we were particularly pleased with the security and safe parking facilities provided by Hotel Sonar Haveli. It was clear that the hotel prioritizes the safety and well-being of their guests, including those with specific needs such as secure parking for their vehicles. The peace of mind that came with knowing our bikes were well taken care of added an extra layer of satisfaction to our stay. Overall, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Hotel Sonar Haveli for providing us with the best hospitality possible. The combined efforts of the management, kitchen staff, and the entire hotel team were evident in the seamless and enjoyable experience we had during our stay. Heritage building
Killa Bhawan is a luxurious hotel in Jaisalmer, known for its exquisite interior design reminiscent of the tales from One Thousand and One Nights. Nestled within the Jaisalmer desert and surrounded by the Fort's three bastions, this traditional sandstone hotel offers breathtaking views of the city. Guests can savor these vistas while dining on the terrace.
The team at Killa Bhawan, will surely make you as welcome as they did us. Our entire experience there was extremely enjoyable. The view from the terrace at breakfast time (with the sun slowly painting the fort bright gold) was amazing. The location - actually within the fort, was ideal and the hotel itself was very nicely presented. The hotel makes great use of the heritage space very interesting but also thoroughly up to date. I thoroughly recommend the hotel for its great service and location.

Killa bhawan is a lovely home in the fort. The views are special, the rooms offer views of the fort and the city. The service is great and the staff are warm.

Hotel Killa Bhawan is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Located right inside the Jaisalmer Fort, it offers a magical and authentic experience unlike anywhere else. Awesome ambience, and the views from the balcony are simply stunning. We had booked the Suite room, and our stay was beyond amazing... spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. The service was outstanding, with every member of the staff going out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. If you want to experience the magic of Jaisalmer in the best way possible, I can’t recommend Hotel Killa Bhawan highly enough!

A truly amazing hotel more than a hotel like being in a private home the level of service was incredible the staff are discreet but always on hand to make your stay perfect. As a woman travelling alone I felt safe and cared for. The bed was the most comfortable during my whole trip and the rooms are stylish and functional. Very clean. I highly recommend a stay in this magical hotel set high in the fort.

Wow, what a wonderful place. We had such a beautiful, relaxed time here. Three nights, it was our haven to come home to. Our room was exceptional, with incredible views of the fort and Jaisalmer. The team here cater to your every wish, super helpful and engaging. We highly recommend.

Once in a while you chance upon a place where stories are made and dreams come true! Killa Bhawan is a gem for explorers, not tourists, but for those who love to explore the world around them, and the people who roam the streets too! Every detail in this fort hotel is artistic, and each room and corner is well curated to facilitate the imagination taking flight. You meet the most fascinating people, and very quickly strangers become friends on that patio. The coffee and brekkie are fabulous and everyone is so darn wonderful. We relaxed into our stay and found the best version of ourselves here.
Ruchika — Google review
We had a wonderful stay here, and the hospitality of the staff was unmatched. They really made our visit to Jaisalmer our favourite part of our trip around India. They provided great advice about local shops and restaurants, arranged airport transfers and a desert safari for us, all at very reasonable rates. The hotel itself is a truly unique property in the fort wall, and would be worth staying just to experience the location alone. The fixtures show some wear, but everything was very clean and well looked after. There is no parking at the hotel, but they organise a tuk-tuk to and from the fort parking, so it was no issue for us. Being able to stay in the fort itself, with such an amazing view was a one of a kind experience.

Excellent, Affordable, Recommended for all type tourists Lovely hotel in an excellent location Near by Jaisalmer fort. The rooftop has stunning views of the fort and is well worth a visit. The rooms are cleaned daily, The owner is very friendly, Overall a wonderful stay and I will go back again soon.

Decent hotel with good Fort view from the hotel roof top but the hotel room looks very old and the wall insulation is not good so it really gets cold at night inside the room so be well prepared if you are planning to stay in this hotel as there is no heater facility and no kitchen available so food has to be ordered and quite expensive. However the taste is good.
Shreyas B — Google review
Room mahal hotel is good. There is roof top restaurant which serves tasty veg/non-veg food. Owner of this hotel is very kind and helpful person and he also owns couple of camps at Sam. So you can plan your whole 2/3 days trip from Room Mahal itself. There are two room categories standard and deluxe. Make sure to check there photos or call owner before booking. Location is the hotel is walkable from the fort which makes it convenient stay. Overall I would recommend this to everyone who is planning to visit Jaisalmer

We also did the camel ride which was very well organized. I highly recommend this place ! We took an AC rooms which was comfortable and clean.

Went there on 25th December, 2021 with my friends. Located just opposite to the Golden Fort in Jaisalmer, the location is good for outing with their roof top restaurant serving a beautiful view of the fort but was closed due to covid pandemic. Rooms were not very good but decent to stay in for travellers. It is basically a house converted hotel. No lifts and no geysers though they serve hot water from the morning. Overall decent stay here !!
Somjit S — Google review
We didn’t stay at this hotel but we did a Jeep safari with Roop Mahal. Generally we were pretty satisfied with the service we got. We chose the non touristic safari where the guys took us to the sand dunes which are 60km away from Jaisalmer city. On our way we stopped to a little village to have a chai tea and we meet adorable kids. Make sure to buy some chocolate for the kids if you decide to do this trip. They would be really happy. Afterwards we completed our trip to the sand dunes and that’s where the fun began. Got stuck in the sand couple times but the guys are experienced enough so this was really fun. At the end we met Lilu the cook, he’s really a good Cook and very clean. The food was really tasty and we were really happy that for once we were in a quite place and enjoying the beautiful views of the desert and the stars. Definitely worth to do this trip with Roop Mahal while you’re in Jaisalmer.

Worst Experience !!! Room.. ok. Hotel staff... BORN TO CHEAT THE VISITORS ! Me and my mother stayed there for 2 nights. On arrival, the manager said that a Bengali family (4 persons) is staying here and you people can join them for visiting the Sam sand dunes on sharing basis, it would be pretty cheap for you. They charged 1500 per head for this package. We asked for a discount but they refused. Still we agreed and went for the trip without having our lunch properly ! Later on our way, we got to know that the family too paid 1500 per person and they are doing all the sight seeing since morning. When we asked for the local sight seen in the same price they revealed their real faces to us. The way they talked to us was terrifying especially to my mother, who is so much senior to them. Afterwards, when my mother threatened them of filing a complaint against them in the police station.. the owner in his topmost voice said -"JO KARNA HE KAR LO" !!! He was convincing us by saying that they were 4 people and you are 2.. that's why we can't show you the local places. You should have come earlier to join that group if you wanted to do the local sights and the desert safari !!!!!!!! Does that make any sense ??? Are they our relatives that we book our tickets according to them ? What kind of sharing basis is this when one group is having all the facilities and the another one is be fooled. Also, they didn't disclosed the actual amount of the package which is to be divided.. Instead they are telling the amount on per head basis. On the day of our departure, the owner all of a sudden felt sorry for his behaviour and was giving us 500 rs as discount as if we are some kind of beggar. Obviously, we didn't touched it ! The city is beautiful, but the people here are making it a havoc.. cheating the tourists is their sole profession. Be careful when you opt for a package provided by the hotel.

Arya Haveli Jaisalmer is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Jaisalmer, one of Rajasthan's most iconic and beautiful cities. The hotel's rooms are well appointed and come with all the amenities you could want, from TVs to ensuite bathrooms. The lower floors of the hotel are cheaper, but the top floor features a blues cafe that is popular with tourists.
We had a fantastic stay for the price we payed here. We were offered a choice of clean, spacious rooms with balconies by Om, a most welcoming hostel manager. Om was always making an effort to socialise with tenants, making sure we had everything that we needed and joining us on the lovely rooftop lounge each evening. The cafe is unorganised but the workers are flexible and there are many nice cafes and restaurants nearby. Set in a really nice location, we were within minutes from market stalls, cheap local restaurants and higher priced, international food restaurants. It's not the cleanest building but the simple, homely decorations really give it a warm atmosphere.

This hotel, located within the central Jaisalmer area, has very clean and inviting rooms and it run by a very helpful staff. Om, the owner, is most accommodating and truly cares about the wellbeing of his guests. He took the time to check in on me via what's app when the day started getting last as I was traveling solo and later to story swap over some chai. This stay was a great experience which I highly recommend.
Julia S — Google review
We had booked standard room for one night stay. Room size is bit cramped - just sufficient for the bed and very less space left for luggage and for us to walk in the room. Cleanliness When we entered the room I saw couple of bottles still lying under the bed. In the bathroom too there was a cigarette pack left behind. There were many hairs and dirt in washbasin. Hot water is not available in bathroom. Overall not suitable for family. May be suitable for bachelors or if you are tight on budget and ready to sacrifices on few basic necessities.
Ravindra H — Google review
Great stay at Arya Haveli. Om and Abdul are super friendly and look after you well. The top terrace is an awesome place to relax and listen to some decent tunes with a cold drink. They organised a great trip to the desert for us too. Recommended!

I had a good experience with this hotel. The staff was cooperative. Owner was soft spoken and well behaved. He would personally cater to your needs. The rooftop cafe was beautiful. They have decorated with fairy lights and always have some music. You can also play the songs of your own choice. All the tourist spots are at walking distance from here. So you can just walk around on your own. Also one of the famous restaurants The Trio is just on the opposite side of the lane. Though the food at arya haveli was very basic but tasty. But yes I would like to add that if you are looking for haveli style rooms you would not get that here. The rooms are basic and the best in that budget. I booked my room for 2 days but I could only stay there for 1 day. The owner was kind enough to reschedule my booking. He charged for 1 day only.
Sneha S — Google review
We stayed there for 3 nights, the room was clean and the food was also really tasty. The owner is so welcoming and open to meet other people and share his musical knowledge, specially with the Bluetooth speaker that you can use as much as you want!
