Great restaurant and bar! Got dinner at the restaurant section and then went to the lounge for drinks. Gumbo was the best I've had outside of New Orleans, and my friends really enjoyed their burgers as well. Server was very kind and the hickory made the inside smell wonderful.

We enjoyed the ambiance, service, and food. However, the shrimp and grits were extremely spicy. Overall the drinks were stellar. We enjoyed sitting outside at the tables after our meal. I would recommend this restaurant.

I have to say, coming from California the drink selection was amazing, however that only gives this establishment 2 stars and beyond those drinks, absolute complete total failure. I miss the interactions of compitent individuals that was unfortunately missing here in South Carolina. Sitting at the bar, my server came up to me once, beyond that I did not exist in her eyes. I needed to get the manager involved in order to get another drink. Why the hell was this person hired in the 1st place? Honestly, she never once made an attempt to ask me what my thoughts where on my 1st drink, nor acknowledge i was even present. That in itself is sickening. Do NOT recommend this establishment. Next door is a roof top bar that is extremely more welcoming and enjoyable. Please spend you money there. Absolutely poor service.

If you are looking to get a taste of Louisiana, I do not recommend eating any of the Cajun or creole inspired dishes. As someone who lived in Louisiana for college, the dishes do not live up to what they claim to be. Stick with the cheese board or pimiento cheese. That said I went there tonight for happy hour and was extremely disappointed by the fact that we found a roach on our table, killed it ourselves told the server and she seemed completely unbothered like it was a normal occurrence. Will not be back anytime soon, though I hate to say that because it is a really cool spot

Thirsty Fellow was pretty good! I'd say the two best things about Thirsty Fellow were definitely the atmosphere, and its proximity to Colonial Life Arena. It's a really convenient place to walk to after a game or event at CLA, and I loved how dimly-lit and relaxed it was, while still maintaining an old-school cool type of feel. As for the food, I'd say that it was "good." My pepperoni pizza and fries were above average, yet nothing particularly special. All-in-all, I would definitely recommend Thirsty Fellow, and I'll definitely be back in the future, probably during football season or after another event at Colonial Life!

Our waiter was very good. Liked the atmosphere. A local pizza and beer place. A little sticky overall. Salads and sides were solid. Our two pizzas came out the same way - and bit undercooked and definitely very greasy. For convenience to campus and the college scene, it was fine.

Worst bruschetta I've ever had. Really fantastic gorgonzola chips. One drink had no carbonation at all when it should have, while the fall cider was the best. Mixed feelings on this place overall. Might have been an off day.

First time trying this restaurant, managed to grab the last available outdoor table. With any events at the stadium nearby this place is obviously packed before and after. Service was pretty fast and friendly. The indoor area looks much nicer, the outdoor space is definitely convenient, but a bit grungy. Food was ok. The sweet potato fries have cinnamon sprinkled on them which is interesting for the first bite and gets old very fast. The pizza was ok, the crust is the highlight. Would benefit from maybe a bit less cheese. Recommend to have them leave it in a bit longer and ask for it crispy.

Even with peppers and spicy oil, our pizza was somehow flavorless. The wings were good and I did enjoyed those. The fried pickles were again flavorless and soggy. You could find them at any fast food place. The guy that was serving us seem disinterested and took too long between drinks apps and the main. Great place to go to watch sports. Good drink selection.

This place has it all! With a large and eclectic selection of wines, cheese, and everything delicious. Atmosphere is bright and inviting. Prices are more than reasonable and service was beyond accommodating. I just bought some wine and cheese from the shop side but I plan on trying the cafe next time. i recently planned a girls trip to asheville and found the gourmet shop as a mid stopping point for lunch. it’s located in a cute little shopping area and takes up quite a bit of space in the building. there are 3 parts to it, the wine section, the food spices cheeses desserts and bulk items, as well as food related items for the kitchen, and the dining area which included outdoor seating. i got the bacon brie croissant that had a special jam on it and it was out of this world!! you’re allowed one side and i went with the german potato salad, which was great to my tasting as i loved the flavors. my girlfriend got a panini with tomato soup as her side. she said hers was fantastic. we also got a few desserts and they were divine as well. i highly recommend this place, it’s a little off the highway but well worth the drive! we will definitely be back to try more things!

The sandwich was pretty good you get a side I personally don't like cold pasta if you do you love the sides. My personal preference. The sandwich was pretty good but felt the sauce wasn't fully distributed but that's nit picky.

We've noticed a marked decline in food quality in the last year: croissants heated to the point of being rock hard, stale bread in the baskets that accompany the cheese boards, stale, rock hard pitas with the hummus, and smaller portions on the boards. It seems like they are trying to cut costs, which doesn't make sense because they are always very busy. Our most recent bread basket came with mostly the end pieces of stale bread, including one that looked like it had a bite taken out of it!! The service and atmosphere keep us coming back, but they need to be more attentive about the food they are putting out these days.

The Gourmet Shop was alright. The store itself is really nice and has a wide selection of nice things, the food was descent but certainly not anything I would wait a long wait for again. It seems more hype than it was substance which was unfortunate. But I will note that people raved about the chicken salad but we did not order that.

I got a cappuccino and it was very good. I also got a salmon bagel sandwich and it also was awesome. My girlfriend however got a sandwich that she did not really like and her pasta salad wasn’t that good either. The tomato bisque was very good. The service was excellent, the food came out quick, and the shop has all sorts of good stuff I even bought my mom a couple things. Lots of great wine too if you’re into that. Definitely a place I will go to again.

The food was excellent but I wish we didn’t get the charcuterie. It seemed like their other dishes were more popular. We got cheesecake to go and ate it at home and oh my goodness!! The Oreo cheesecake was delicious!!

This was my second time in this establishment. Both times the food was good! Very great customer service. The only thing this time is it seems my food was not as hot as my first visit. Overall it was good. The first visit I had the vegan BBQ spare ribs with collard greens, purple cabbage and vegan Mac and cheeze'. If you are a fan of soy curds you will love the BBQ spare ribs. The vegetables were seasoned well, Mac and cheeze was some of the best I've tasted. My second visit, I had the traditional fried Chik'n sandwhich with fries. The crunch and seasonings are perfection! "We need to move to SC and within walking distance of this place" were the first words I spoke to my wife after having come down from NJ on a solo trip to see my mom. I landed at the Columbia airport and hopped in the rental to go check this place out before I made my way to my mom's place about 45 min away. I didnt know this was still a carryout or delivery spot until I got there- they have some patio seating but the chairs inside are all stacked to the side. The gentleman at the counter was super polite and mentioned he would he happy to help if I had any questions. Today's menu included bbq popcorn chkn, so I got the plate with that and 4 sides- collard greens, double mac and kidney beans. I was told there were large orders ahead of me and there would be a 30 min wait. Not an issue if you read below- and now I was extra curious! I sat in the car and was texted barely 20 min later that my order was ready. Here we go... I made it about 10 min into my drive before I found a place to just pull over and eat because the aroma of the (what felt like) 5 lb plate was taking over the car! My mouth waters as I write this a day later. This was proper vegan soul food, heck this was proper soul food. Collards were tangy, sweet. salty and melted when you got a forkful. Mac was creamy (i dont care if they were shells, they are just a vessel for flavor), and the kidney beans were spiced just right and the perfect compliment. Chkn was still crispy and tossed just enough in sauce not drowning in it. I got through half the plate (and I have an appetite) before I was plain stuffed. Good thing too because I remembered I was sharing this with my mom when I got home. Euphoria quickly turned into gluttony-remorse but not a bad remorse at all. This food was bangin, slapped, all that, fire, toothsome, bussin' - I would have slapped my momma but I have too much respect (and fear). On a related note, am I the only one that is classically conditioned to salivate when I hold a warm, heavy styrofoam container without even knowing whats inside? You know, when you first hear that styro-squeak as you open the lid, get that first whiff of deliciousness and your eyes first go to the condensation on the inside of the lid as you slowly pan hollywood style to the food in the plate, complete with theatrical glorious music playing? No? Guess its just me. Back to it. If there was even room in the container- all it needed was a slice or two of plain white bread, nothing fancy, sunbeam style is perfect. Summary: RUN here. Don't sweat the prices, portions are huge. Always support local-esp when the product is straight sorcery. Warning: If you are prone to back problems, you may want help lifting the plates. At the time of this review this restaurant is only receiving take out orders, no dine in. However, there is outdoor seating available. I order the days special, BBQ "Spareribs" Plate w/3 Sides and a slice of Brown Butter cake. Haven't tried the cake yet but the slices are huge! In fact the food portions could easily be split between two people. The BBQ texture was great for me, the BBQ sauce is on sweet side. For sides I got Mac and cheese, collards and beans. All great choices! I haven't eaten 1/3 of the plate, yet I'm full and happy. Cute spot, will visit again!

Finally made it to Peace of Soul. I had the chicken sandwich w/collard greens n Mac n cheese.. when I tell you these collard greens are the bomb.. my food was made fresh wasn’t a long wait time n service was great. Haven’t tasted my choc chip cake yet but I know it won’t disappoint. I will def be back again 😊

I couldn't leave Columbia without stopping here. I love fried chicken and Bernie's does not disappoint! The staff and ordering are super efficient. If you love fried chicken this is the place. Ask for the banana pudding though, I didn't see it on the overhead menu. Prices are great. Three piece special with a drink, slaw and fries under $10 dollars. You can't beat that nowadays!

The chicken and potato salad are so good. Fried chicken was light with a great crisp. I don't think it can be made any better. Food came out fast and it is a shabby place but who cares, when the food is that good! There is a $11 lunch with 3 pieces of chicken, fries, roll, coleslaw and a super good sweet tea.

Wow! Such an awesome local gem!! The chicken is as advertised - juicy and crispy!! The portions are perfect! We got the 4 piece dinner. The old school vibe and friendly service is a great reason to eat in, but many were taking big meals to-go. Definitely recommend the lemonade.

Stopped by Drake’s Duck-In during a quiet hour around 4 pm and had a great experience! I ordered the 2 piece Dark Chicken with a thigh and leg, plus fries and a roll, while my mom got the same but with two thighs. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside, seasoned well, and very flavorful. The food came out quickly, the staff was welcoming, and everything—from the dining area to the bathroom—was very clean. If you love chicken, you’ll love this spot!

Stopped in for the first time to grab dinner. I ordered the Classic Burger, which was cheesy, and juicy. This Burger was delicious! I also ordered the 3 piece dark Chicken. The chicken was fried perfectly, and flavorful.The restaurant is extremely clean, and the service was good.

Chicken tenders should be the most easiest thing to cook! The breading literally not sticking to the chicken it’s greasy and fry’s are soft/ soggy ! The reviews are cap! The tenders are too greasy and just not worth the money !

The food was amazing! The wait staff was amazing and they get paid more than minimum wage! The burger was delicious and wasn’t too messy, and the fries were perfectly cooked. Think McDonald’s fries but natural cut! Great portion of food for the price and you can tell they use quality ingredient’s on everything. This is the best chicken sandwich in the world. I have been everywhere. Rasheed and the rest of the staff at Drake's Duck In put up better chicken than most people could imagine. Every other chicken sandwich in the world is trash compared to Drake's.

A Columbia institution, recently renovated. Great Chicken and fries, available in tender, sandwich, and standard bone in version. Bright colors and a counter to sit at if you're in a hurry. Also, kudos to the professorial type who bought a homeless guy a sandwich while we were there - a very kind gesture.

My cousin was graduating and we wanted something good near by. The food here was really good and freshly prepared. The only thing was my cousin got a sweet potato waffle but it really tasted like a spice waffle. She even asked the waitress and cook and they stated that, that’s what their sweet potato waffle taste like. It was good it just didn’t give sweet potato.

My spouse and I had dinner here this afternoon and I cannot say that I enjoyed my experience. Although the food was hot and was served to us in less than 15 minutes, the good aspects do not outweigh the bad. My chicken wings were very salty and tasted like the grease they were fried in was burnt and old, and the Belgium waffle was bland. My husband’s chicken (leg, wing, breast and thigh) appeared to have been cooked in newer grease. My food was served about 6 minutes before my spouse plate came out, so I waited until he received his. My preference would have been to have our plates brought to us at the same time. We were given plastic ware which I thought was very tacky especially since we were dining in and our food was served on plates. Even the Waffle House uses silverware! The floor under our table was very, very sticky leaving me to wash the bottom of my shoes when I got home. The table was sticky, the syrup container had syrup running down the side. Our window was dirty and nasty, and it was very warm inside of the restaurant although it was extremely hot outside. I was very disappointed spending $50.00 in this grimy establishment! It needs a thorough cleaning! It is too overrated with the television ads and all and it is not worth the money! I have no plans to visit this restaurant again. The one positive thing I do have to say is that our waitress, Kayla was phenomenal. 🧡

Had a very nice time at Kiki’s this is def a packed place. I had Kiki’s plate that came with 4 chicken wings and 2 sides. Not mad at it at all. The chicken was flavored nicely, fresh, and moist not over cooked. The restaurant is priced about what you would see at an average restaurant. Plates ranging from 12.99 to 18.99. The staff was friendly and wanting to make sure you had a good meal. I want to give a shot out to Cassandra I believe the bartender she helped place my order and gave me a recommendation on what sides to choose. I also overheard her make take multiple calls and help staff member and customers. She handled all with grace and professionalism even if she was doing multiple at once. If you go on a Sunday be prepared for a small wait. It gets busy. But it’s a big place with plenty of seating. Check it out.

We got the breakfast combo, the mama b's with a sweet potato waffle and the sweet potato souffle. Everything was delicious. The eggs in the combo were perfectly cooked not running and not over cooked, the bacon had just a little crunch without being burnt and the waffle was sweet and was almost like a s'more being sweet and creamy with just a little crunch. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy with good seasoning. The sweet potato waffle was different from the regular but it did not taste sweet potato like. Warning, the service was extremely slow, which wouldn't have been a big deal except it felt like a refrigerator inside.

I was in town for a leadership conference and was referred here by a local. Kiki’s did not disappoint! I was sitting with a large party and we were well accommodated. I ordered the fish and grits with cheese and it comes with a buttermilk biscuit. Everything was seasoned to perfection. My meal didn’t need hot sauce, but I added a little bit just because I like my food spicy.

While traveling, my family had to try out Kiki’s after seeing it highly reviewed online and in magazines. We arrived late for lunch(nearly 2), but the restaurant seemed to have only one working server and a bar tender for a large space. He was an excellent server, though the restaurant was very busy and he was overworked. Honestly, the restaurant had a very bad smell, but we were seated close to the restrooms. We’re troopers though, so we went for it and the food was wonderful! We tried the fried okra, Mac and cheese bites, corn bites, chicken and waffles, wings and shrimp and grits. All was delicious! So if you go, I recommend the food for takeout🤪

The food was lacking unique Flavor, the grits were really watery, and the belgion waffle was basic as in comparison I'm coming from Houston but I did not let up in eating because I came there hungry and ready~ Plus given that this was one of the places that came highly recommended. Great food such a variety of items. Three of us had something different and all were delicious. Our server was very attentive and knew about the menu and made several recommendations. The night we were there was trivia night and it was a very lively and loud crowd. We dined outside and avoided the noise.

This was my first time visiting, and now I'm ashamed . The food here is phenomenal. I tried the catfish and grits and was very satisfied. The service was stellar. I forget our servers name, but they were on point. Also had some hot collard dip that came with pork rinds and homemade saltines, incredible. There's a lot of drinking choices from beer, liquor, wine, non alcoholic. We sat on the outdoor patio, which was really cute with flowers and herbs, and there was a bluegrass band jamming out. I'll definitely come back sooner than later.

We really enjoy The War Mouth. It fits very nicely with the vibe of downtown Columbia. The food isn't cheap, but I've never felt like I was overcharged for what I got. Everything is prepared nicely, and I feel appropriate for the price. The staff is friendly and efficient.

Food I don’t think was worth the price, and maybe that’s on me but I wanted to try things they suggest, deviled eggs are good but I’ve had better and the main dish was unique but again, not much flavor. The coffee cake cheese cake however was amazing! I don’t usually like cheesecake but this was grand. The service was also good, constantly asking me if I needed anything and how things were. Overall, not bad but it was expensive.

I was really disappointed with the food here unfortunately. The menu seems really promising with all the local options, but the chicken wings I had were overcooked and the chicken bog was under seasoned. Huge bummer!The deviled eggs were good though. The waitress was really nice and helped guide me through the menu, also the other patrons were good company. Bummer about the food.

This was our first time dining at this place. Colette was our waitress and she was very attentive. My son's pizza was not correct and she quickly fixed the issue and gave us a discount. Finding a place where customer service is superb is rare. We definitely have plans to return.

Za's is a great place to get good tasting pizza in a reasonable amount of time. Their spinach dip and pita are amazing. Our server Oilivia was very attentive, carried herself professionally, and always had a smile on her face. The indoor seating setup is a little odd and broken up. The outdoor seating is plentiful and more cohesive. Parking is a bit difficult. However, we will definitely be back.

Za's was really good! It's a little more upscale than your basic pizza joint, and the portions aren't huge, but it definitely substitutes quality for quantity. The pizza and breadsticks tasted great, and I loved the homemade lemonade as well. It might not be my go-to pizza restaurant, but I'll probably come back the next time I want something a little more debonair.

Parking lot was crazy and almost left. Glad I waited and didn't. Took us line to get a parking spot then it was to stay is at a table. The wait staff came quickly and attended to our order. My only complaint was the check in and getting the check at the end. The spinach artichoke dip is so yummy. Got a 14" pizza for 2 of us and it was enough with left overs.

i loved it so much! i especially recommend the make your own pizza and breadsticks. my whole family loved it. one of us enjoyed their black pepper. just straight black pepper 😊

Our family had Za's for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was already packed at 5:15, which is great for them. The only sad part was that they did not have anymore high chairs left for our toddler, so we tried one of their booster seats. We tried the deviled eggs - very basic and middle of the road. We would definitely skip those next time. But the chicken bacon ranch calzone and the delicious pizza, made us forget all about those eggs. We will definitely be back for pizza and calzones!

Ordered a pizza for dinner and once I got home saw how poorly made it was. There was hardly any cheese on the pizza, the toppings were just thrown all over and the crust was burned. I called to let them know how awful the pizza was and was offered a remake. That was a nice gesture, but we live 30 minutes away from the restaurant. The guy that answered the phone (was very nice and helpful) spoke to his manager, who told him to tell me that it was a busy part of the day and they didn't have time to talk to me to figure out a resolution for the issue and that I needed to call back later tonight or tomorrow. That's poor customer service on the part of the manager, but we will see if they offer an acceptable resolution... UPDATE- manager called back. Refunded our money and gave us a gift card. We'll give them another shot...

Had a nice lunch date here today. We tried multiple of the daily specials listed on the board, but just wasn’t wowed. I try not to be overly picky when eating out but there was just one thing a smidge off about each item. Would try again, with different choices next time. Best item- broccoli salad (was amazing! )

Spotted Salamader is a bright shining gem in Columbia SC! On a bright sunny January day I finally experienced a lovely lunch spot on my restaurant wish list. The food was fantastic and if I lived near here I would eat here all the time. I had the special avocado and shrimp, deviled eggs with feta and sun dried tomatoes and the pimento cheese appetizers. I am not a super fan of pimento cheese but their's is fire! My friends had the pecan chicken salad sandwiches and barbecue chicken salad. I took home the oatmeal cream pie/cookie. Y'all it looks like a giant Little Debbie. It was delicious and crunchier than a Debbie. The restaurant has limited seating, but comfortably homey. A winner in my book!

I don’t go here enough!! That’s all that kept running through my mind as soon as I opened the door to this quaint little luncheon cafe (they do catering too). You get in a rut and go to the same few places in a 5 mile radius but do yourself a huge favor and take a best friend or a date or someone who really needs to be treated to an awesome lunch and enjoy a wonderful meal at the Spotted Salamander♥️. Daily specials for deviled eggs (🔥), sides and sandwiches along with desserts are a must so be sure and check the board when you walk in. Like a nice glass of wine with lunch? Done! Such a beautifully decorated cafe in an old home on Richland St in downtown Columbia. Do yourself a favor and get there when they open to get street parking and first choice of the tables. There are some outside tables as well but if you know summers in SC…wait for one of those in the fall. I’ve never had anything here that I didn’t rave about for days after! This is a must visit!

Spotted Salamander is one of the finest, most charming restaurants in Columbia. It manages to feel both comfortable and up-scale. The place a lovely 'bistro' vibe of a Southern Kitchen and comfortably elevates it. I've had both meals and attended special events (including a fantastic wildlife fundraiser) and I've always walked away with a few important notes - as an upscale place, I've never left hungry, I've never had a bad meal, the staff (and owner) are lovely people, and I find myself curious to try even dishes that I'd normally lean away from! I've included some pictures of the food served during the special event; all in all these are dishes you'd expect to find at a Parisian bistro at the top of it's game - what a treat it is to have something so special in Columbia! All in all, if you live in Columbia, this is a must-visit spot. My suggestion is enjoy it now before it gets discovered or someone pops a Michelin Star on the front!

I am Research Professor in hospitality and tourism at USC and I like doing my own foodie tourism research! I highly recommend this Southern culinary sweet spot with a contemporary twist. Everything is excellent. The chicken salad is my favorite. Try the deviled eggs. And don't forget burger day on Friday. There are few places I can take away a coke in a bottle and a gourmet brownie for the afternoon! Staff is excellent and attentive. Local or visitor--don't miss it! 5 stars.

Such a cute lunch spot with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. They have a very creative menu with fun takes on Southern cuisine. Must get the Daily Deviled Egg Special!!! 🤤 Seriously the best deviled eggs I’ve ever had. I also got the Tomato Pie Mac & Cheese. So much flavor and well-seasoned. That crust was delightful. I really wish I had saved room for dessert…. so many delicious options. Definitely a must-visit in Columbia!

To be honest, I was a little disappointed. We should have went earlier because by the time we got there for lunch (1:30) they were out of the deviled egg special and Brussels sprouts so I didn’t have a chance to get the small bites that I wanted. I got the tomato soup and it was flavorless. My burger was dried out and the dessert was too rich for me. It was my 2nd time visiting and it was very different from the first time I tried this place a few years ago. Since my initial visit, they have added a house to supply the over flow business. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is vastly different from the main room. It’s a bit too quiet there, while the first is more vibrant.

The burgers were so good I ate here 2 days in a row!! Miram and Sam were both professional and showed great customer service. Definitely addi g this place to my rotation of places to eat. A+

Great venue. Met some brothers to watch the game and discuss life experience. Denise, our waitress was knowledgeable and on her toes. Food was good. Try the wings and ale deals were reasonable. We will return.

Thank you for hosting Tokyo Joe. If you have not seen Tokyo Joe, you must add that to your list of things to do. What an amazing performance. Special thanks to wings and ale for the reservations. I was elated for my placement to watch the live entertainment. Price was reasonable and the salad that I selected as my side item was generous. Outstanding table service. Looking forward to another visit especially with the live entertainment. Plenty of free parking. Thanks again for a fantastic time.

we went last night to get a bite to eat, my boneless wings and my moms burger was good but service was terrible!!! we waited about 5 minutes for our menus which wasn’t terrible but what really bothered us was when the other worker dropped off our food, our waitress didn’t come to our table the ENTIRE TIME(≈45 minutes) after that until she asked us if we would like our checks. the whole time my sweet potato fries were overcooked and cold when they hit the table… where was our server that whole time?? checking on all the other tables she had expect for ours. very disappointed.

I went yesterday because i have heard a lot about their wings. I ordered 10wings dipped in honey garlic, mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, and a side salad. I asked for the wings to be fried soft , i do not like crispy/hard wings. However they were still crispy and hard however they were good. The fried mushrooms was my favorite dish they were so good dipped with ranch dressing. The mozzarella sticks were ok the breading was extra thick which made them hard to enjoy. The house salad was good. I believe they make their own ranch because it is very thick. So i had to ask for extra ranch because it didn’t run like other ranch so it was hard to spread throughout the salad . I would go back and try a different entree along with the fried mushrooms. The waitress was nice aswell.

Thanks to Cheryl and Donna, the service was outstanding that included good conversation. The lunch atmosphere was friendly. The food was excellent, cooked to order. We had the 6wing lunch special that included one side and a drink.

Good place for a group or just a night out with friends. Lots of TV's and pool tables. Our group servers were on top of it and awesome.

I wanted some good BBQ with hash and rice. I came to the right place. The atmosphere and service was great. The food was fresh and delicious.

Absolutely always worth a stop—such a solid spot for a great sandwich! The onion rings are seriously next level. I can’t even explain how much you'll appreciate the flavors here—it’s unlike anything else! Everything comes out just right, exactly how you order it. You’ve got to give this place a try!

Ordered through the drive thru. The sandwich was ok. The fries were undercooked and unseasoned. The staff wasn’t rude, but definitely unfriendly. Especially the heavy set woman with black hair. She scowled at me while giving me my drink. This was a much needed meal returning to Columbia after working commercial construction in Georgia. I will never give another dollar of my money to this establishment and I will recommend my friends and coworkers avoid your businesses as well. Giving is low quality food, with that level of service for that price is insulting. Then to top it off with the expectation of a tip at the drive thru? Ridiculous.

The BBQ place I wanted to go to was closed today so I went to Maurice's. I thought it was just ok. The building had a great sense of ambience and the staff was very friendly, but the food was more of the chain store quality as opposed to "real" BBQ. I had the 3 meat platter with brisket, pulled chicken, and pulled pork. The brisket was good, as was the chicken, but the pork was not that great. It was a little dry and had an odd flavor. They served them all with mustard BBQ sauce which surprised me. I would have preferred to add my own sauce. For the sides I chose mac and cheese as well as potato salad. The noodles in the mac and cheese were soggy and there was very little cheese flavor. The potato salad was dry, but had a good flavor. I had hoped for a more authentic experience and this was not it. The dining areas were clean as were the bathrooms. I probably won't be back. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible

I ordered on chow now when i arrived they didnt even know they had an order So we waited 25 min ultimately they left off our mac and cheese and fries for our 2 burger meals also the hush puppies. Our other meals were packed correctly.

Absolutely always worth stopping at such a good burger !! The onion rings are amazing. Can’t even begin to tell you how much you will enjoy this food it’s like no other!! It’s always right when you order! Definitely must try it!

We visited Home Team BBQ during commencement weekend, so naturally, everywhere in the city had long wait times—up to an hour or more. We were a group of five and waited about 45 minutes for a table for lunch. The place was packed, but once seated, the service was impressively fast and efficient. I ordered a dozen Smoked Chicken Wings for my sons, knowing it’s one of their favorites—and it was definitely the right call. The wings disappeared quickly! I went with the Two-Meat Platter (pork and chopped brisket), which was delicious, though I did feel the meat was served a bit cold. Still, the flavors were great. Even my son who typically doesn’t eat much at restaurants cleaned his plate of Fried Ribs—he absolutely loved them. My wife ordered a large plate of tacos, and it was so big it was hard to finish! Another son had Brisket Tacos, which he also really enjoyed. Overall, a fantastic experience with great food, a lively atmosphere, and quick service despite the crowd. For that reason, it’s a solid 5 stars from all of us!

Home Team was alright. Now, let me preface this review by stating that I only patronized the bar, and as such, cannot comment on the BBQ or food. The ambiance of the restaurant was pretty cool, the problem being that they did not do a good job whatsoever of maintaining cleanliness at the bar. Half-empty bottles and glasses littered the bar area, when they could have been picked up and dumped out pretty easily. I ordered a seltzer, which wasn't necessarily bad, but I was never asked my preference for which flavor I preferred, which was kind of odd. All-in-all, my takeaway from Home Team was that the ambiance was very cool, but that they need to do a better job of managing the bar.

I visited this restaurant recently for lunch with a group of about 10 people, and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Despite being a large party, everything moved quickly and smoothly, which was a pleasant surprise. To start, we ordered tots and wings as appetizers. Both were absolutely delicious — the wings especially stood out, so much so that I ended up ordering another round just for myself as my main dish. They were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and just hit the spot. One of my friends ordered the ribs and couldn’t stop raving about how well-cooked and flavorful they were. Service was another highlight of our visit. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, managing our big group with ease and keeping a smile on the whole time. She made sure we had everything we needed without us having to ask more than once. The food came out quickly, which was impressive considering the size of our group. It was clear the kitchen was running efficiently and that the staff cared about keeping things moving. Price-wise, everything felt reasonable and well worth it. The portions were generous, and the quality of the food made it feel like a great value overall. One small note: the salsas labeled as “hot” were actually quite sweet and not spicy at all, which was a bit of a letdown for those of us who enjoy some real heat. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. I would definitely return and recommend this spot to others. Great food, friendly service, and a smooth experience — what more can you ask for?

We got the two meat combo platters. I opted for the brisket and 1/4 chicken (white meat) by recommendation and as promised the chicken wasn’t dry. The brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and pulled pork were standard. The fried Mac & Cheese was one of my favorites here, the jam which accompanied it was something I thoroughly enjoyed - wouldn’t know it was tomatillo unless you told me. Also, coming in from out of town I had to try the sweet tea - wasn’t disappointed. The server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and the food came out quick.

Delicious pulled pork, smoked turkey, potato salad and baked beans. I wasn’t too much of a fan of the hash and rice though. Great service!

The staff was super friendly and helpful, which made for a great experience. I really liked that they put a variety of sauces on the table so you can sample and find your favorite. I had the brisket ☺️absolutely 10/10! The earlier you come, the better. I arrived around 8:30–9:00 PM, and they were out of a few items, but I was still so satisfied with what I got. Definitely worth it!

The atmosphere and service is ultimately the best and I really enjoy going. The food is great too, but can be a little overpriced. The brisket sliced sandwich is smoked and flavored really good, plus you get a huge basket of tater tots that could feed a small army. I know I said it before, but the staff is the greatest and are always super nice. Also I hear the beer selection is great, I'm not a big drinker but they have a huge bar with a lot to select from.

Publick House is a really cool restaurant, the ambiance is very old-school cool, and the service is usually pretty good as well. Although I don't personally eat wings, this is my friends' and family's go-to place for the best wings in Columbia. I mainly get the mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, and fries, which are for the most part above average, although a little hot-or-miss. They have a great selection of beers, and their hand-made liquor drinks are always fresh and well-made. I have noticed however that their non-alcoholic beverages such as lemonade and soda are often watered down and not the greatest. All-in-all, Publick House is an above-average restaurant, and one that I would definitely recommend to others and will keep coming back to.

Very good food and drinks, couldn't eat all of my food due to my daughter having my granddaughter. Plan on coming back and getting her one ( prime rib dinner) and get another one myself before I head back to NY, Big👍👍... Hopefully, they are serving prime rib....

The service was great, the food was pub fair with no flair. It looked tasty but only the chicken wings had something going for it. The Chicken Salad melt created chewy chicken pieces and what they call raw fries are potatoes chips but they were undercooked and not very crispy. The fish sandwich did not have the same beer batter as the fish and chips and that would have made all the difference. There are pools tables to enjoy and a nice bar for a drink. But I would not come just for the food.

The customer service for this place is lacking, in my opinion. We ordered chicken noodle soup, and it didn't have any chicken. It honestly appeared like vegetable soup. We asked the waiter, and he came back and said, "Well, we make our stock. It's not can like you are used to." Which to myself is very rude because the extra commentary wasn't needed. The food is subpar at best, there are so many better restaurants in my opinion. Also, we found a hair in the wings, which we do appreciate that they removed it off the tab.

First time going here. I ordered mozzarella sticks and the 10 wing combo w/ 1 side for $18.….flavor was spicy teriyaki that could've used a little bit more sauce...waitress was 👌

Only been here a few times but so far, I've not had any complaints or issues. Drinks are cold, food is great, staff is great, prices are reasonable. Nice local pub to check out. Decent selection of beer and liquor. Fast service. Clean and well kept looking. Try them out if you're in the area!

Brisket slices were huge. Veggie plate came with double sized portions of Mac-n-cheese like homemade with tons of stretchy cheese and smokey sweet baked beans. Freshly made with pickle and egg potato salad. Seriously hot fresh cut and coated fried okra with spicy salt was excellent and large portions. The only small portion was the sweet cornbread which was actually good and fresh, just needed some butter which I'm sure I could've asked for, but was delicious anyway. Coleslaw was fresh. Portions large enough to take home for lunch tomorrow. Fresh lemonade or tea -- i had unsweetened tea so good I actually didn't need added sweetener. Brought some big tubs of Banana Puddin and Strawberry Shortcake. Atmosphere reminded me of the old hole in the walls you search for. Lots of local politicians and celebrities photos and memorabilia. But cleaned up for a modern crowd. Bathrooms were spotless-- have to wash your hands after the choice options for barbecue sauces. The stacked split hardwood out back speaks to the authentic pit barbecue.

Hidden Gem Alert Across from Allen and Benedict college near Downtown Columbia! Wayne was professional and gave great customer service. Stopped by Railroad BBQ for lunch with coworkers and we were all impressed! This spot might be tucked away, but the flavor is front and center. The smoked meats are legit—tender, flavorful, and full of that classic BBQ goodness. I had the mac n cheese and it was deliciously, a true comfort food win. My coworkers couldn’t stop raving about the smoked turkey wings, brisket, ribs, fried okra, cornbread and collards. Even the hotdog got great praise! If you're craving soul food with real smokehouse flavor, Railroad BBQ is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend!

Sorry for the crappy pics but this is how I remember the places I’ve eaten at. I appreciated the fresh ingredients in the side salad. The kale and collards were fresh. The tomato based barbecue sauce came on the side along with a cup of mustard based sauce that I don’t care for. The sweet cornbread isn’t too sweet and is good, and I don’t usually care for cornbread. I can tell the owner cares about the quality of the food and I appreciate that! I wouldn’t return for the ribs, not as seasoned or smoky as I prefer but I wish this restaurant all the best!

I so wanted to love the food. The customer service was awesome, the atmosphere was comfortable and interesting. The food in my opinion was not worth what we paid and it seemed old. I paid 5.99 for large sides separate from the meal and they gave me the amount that came with the meal. Everything was generally lacking in flavor and tasted like it had been made awhile before I received it. Didn't receive the bread that was supposed to come with the brisket meal. The picture with the brisket, that meal cost 24.99. Very disappointed

We were there for a late lunch(our fault), so the items were not as warm as I would expect, but it wasn't a big deal. The staff was very nice and friendly and the food was delicious, especially the brisket. This was our first time. We will try to be there sooner when we visit the next time.

I recently visited Railroad BBQ, and unfortunately, it was a letdown. The food just didn’t live up to expectations—the taste was pretty lackluster, nothing to really get excited about. For $31.00, I expected more than just mediocre BBQ. Overall, it felt overpriced for the quality. I’m now planning to check out City Limit BBQ next and will keep you all updated on how it compares!

First visit and will not be my last. I had the john Henry, which is the pulled pork plate with collards and potato wedges. The pulled pork had great flavor and just a hint of smoke. The collards were outstanding, and potato wedges were hot and fresh. I will be back to try the ribs and brisket. Awesome dining experience.

BLD was on my foodie list for some time, and they didn't disappoint!! Plenty of parking, they were practicing Covid social distancing. Tables were set up outside under a few fans. Bathroom were clean. I was really amazed at the set up and the food was amazing. The serving size was fair for the price paid. Customer service was kinda slow, but we had no problems other than that. They were busy the day we visited. Just don't be in a hurry and chill.... I highly recommend you check them out!

I’ve had this place on my list to try for a while, now. However, when I got there I couldn't push myself to finish my food. First, when we ordered mimosas we were given dirty glasses that were not clean. And lastly, the food was not good. Too afraid to try something else. We left unsatisfied and hungry. At most, our waiter and the manager at the time were understanding and apologetic. Which was appreciative.

I don't say this lightly but they made the best french toast I've ever had. The reverse seared french toast was light crisp on the edge and creamy in the middle. It was drenched in syrup and went well with the orange butter. The waffle was also delicious. Just remember to ask for the syrup on the side if you don't want it soaking. The service was good. My coffee was kept filled and very accommodating with a toddler. They have high- chairs. Decor was delightful and some 50s diner feel. You can watch the line cooks/chefs inside, kinda like a very fancy Waffle house. The bathrooms we're clean. No diaper changing stations, however.

Not too bad. First of all the menu was a mix of sophisticated sounding yummies - like the Reverse Seared French Toast which is described as Challah bread soaked in Creme Brûlée; and the Avocado Toast on Wheatberry; but also there were some things on the menu that sounded pretty hum drum hole in the wall - like the "Grain Bowl" and the "Two Eggs and Meat". I found that to be a bit disconnecting. Is it a stylish diner offering great food and great lifestyle or is it a basic truck stop offering complete run of the mill? We met the owner the first night and he was inviting and enthusiastic, he checked on us regularly and he was accommodating, showed his proud-of-my-restaurant-so-welcome-in etiquette, he even upgraded the wine because the one we wanted wasn't available. We waited too long for a French Onion soup which was really good in its richness and texture but a little too salty (and I personally think they should switch to sea salt - table salt taste so harsh and obvious) and Chris and I also had the same main meal; the Hot Honey Fried Chicken - which was good but over cooked and almost burnt that night. My take on it - this owner is enthusiastic and in love with his restaurant, but his staff, to include the cooks; are not well trained or careful enough to be consistent and do not have the eye to separate the idea of cuisine from the idea of sustenance. The first night was a good start but had many flaws - so we went in for breakfast the next day to see how that experience would be. I will follow up with that experience in a couple of days and add those photos. But first I want to try the place one more time to give my final determination because the breakfast experience was NOT good. I will be fair and see if that was just the ultimate of off days and then I will submit my final review and star count. Can't wait to follow up.

Met some friends for lunch here. The atmosphere was fun, the server was quirky but attentive, and the food items we ordered all looked amazing. The avocado toast looked absolutely scrumptious. A friend had the daily special of grilled cheese and tomato soup reporting it was solid. I opted to splurge and spend my calories on a burger and fries. The fries were the highlight as they had a really delicious seasoning! The others who chose salads all commented they were tasty.

I absolutely love this restaurant!!! It’s not your typical “diner.” The inside is well decorated and a comfortable place to dine. The waitress is so nice and crazy smart. No mater what you order she will remember all of it without writing anything down lol. The food is excellent and I recommend it to everyone! I come her as often as I can!.

I’m only mad that we haven’t discovered this place sooner. Had the berry glazed biscuit special, short rib hash and biscuits and red gravy. Everything was amazing with super friendly staff. Definitely coming back.

I have given this place more chances than I normally would, four separate visits to be exact, and each time I have ended up walking out without being served. What is most frustrating is that it is not because they are busy or overwhelmed. The employees are physically present but show no interest in working. They do not greet you, do not acknowledge you, and do not make any effort to approach or take your order. You are left sitting there being stared at like you are invisible. Each time, I tried to be patient and give them the benefit of the doubt, but the complete lack of initiative or customer service is unacceptable. There is no sense of urgency, professionalism, or even basic courtesy. It genuinely feels like no one wants to be there or do their job. After walking out four times without ever receiving food or service, I am done. I will not be coming back, and I would not recommend this place to anyone who values their time or expects even minimal customer service. It is disappointing and frustrating to see a business run this way, especially when the problems are so consistent and avoidable. From the reviews I have seen, i am clearly not the only one who feels this way. There needs to be a change.

Went to this McDonald’s twice once I got there right time for breakfast and they apparently decided that that day they were ending breakfast early so I had to turn around and leave the second time I went here. It was for 50 Cent double cheeseburger day to say the least, it wasn’t very fast food. Still the good old McDonald’s experience though, but there was flies everywhere

I had a really disappointing experience at this McDonald’s. It was moderately busy, and I used the drive-thru. After placing my order, I was told to wait in the pickup spot. I sat there for 20 minutes with no update, so I finally went inside to check on it — only to find out they had completely forgotten about my order and hadn’t even started preparing it. Mistakes happen, but the lack of communication and awareness from the staff made it even worse. If I hadn’t gone in to follow up, I might’ve kept waiting for who knows how long. Definitely not the level of service I expect, even from a fast food place.

This is by far the worst McDonald’s I have ever visited, and if zero stars were possible, that’s exactly what I would give. The staff were unprofessional, immature, and completely untrained in basic customer service. The manager on duty displayed behavior that was absolutely unacceptable for anyone in a leadership role. After I explained that I have a disability and could not use the kiosk, he outright refused to take my order and told me to go back to my car and use the drive-thru instead. When I asked for his name and the corporate phone number, he refused to provide either. His conduct was not only rude and disrespectful but also discriminatory.This location reflects poorly on the McDonald’s brand and corporate standards. The staff here are in desperate need of retraining in professionalism, respect, and basic customer service something they could easily learn from establishments like Chick-fil-A. Based on my experience, this location should be closely reviewed by corporate leadership, and if improvements cannot be made, it should be shut down.

The kiosk never works. Then when you try to pay at the counter there’s rarely anyone there to take your payment. The last 2 times i’ve been there i’ve walked out with nothing while they group in the back and can barely get orders out. They need new management or new workers. Won’t be there again.

Gave me a pie at 8:00 pm that had a tag that stated expired in the afternoon. Specialty drink machine is always “down” every second of the day. Obviously the workers are lying.

Wish I could give customer service 0 stars. Got my order wrong, while I was waiting for them to fix it, 3 other people came in with the same problem. The guy took the wrong sandwich back and then didn’t say anything about getting the right thing. They then reused the sandwich I brought back inside

The decor is beautiful, but service was mediocre. Food came quickly, though the sushi (Dragon Roll and Chef’s Choice) was too humid and lacked flavor. Menus are old and the online menu isn’t updated, they no longer serve the nagaki samplers we came for. Plates and chairs need an upgrade, and with the entrance door open, mosquitos bothered us at the table. An okay experience, but not enough to order dessert.

First visit... the sushi was a great price and tasted really good. I love crunchy California rolls but the crunchy rolls here have tempura shrimp. It was still good but it was fried hard. I asked if she could put sauce on the California rolls as well and she did. It really enhanced the flavor. My daughter tried the sesame chicken and rice. She said it was good but I noticed there wasn't any sauce on the chicken. We will definitely be back... buy one get one free sushi rolls will allow me to order my favorite while trying something new.

Loved this place! Definitely had many orders going out with their third party delivery services. My sushi was delicious and the hibachi was just as good. Food came out fast! Loved to see the meat right there in front. Will be going back.

Not a fan of the sushi. I can't comment about the hibachi. Not a bad deal, I just didn't enjoy the sushi as it doesn't seem fresh. The tempura shrimp in the crunchy roll was hard and tasted old.

Dingy little takeout place in a rough spot with difficult access if you are heading West on Elmwood. Quick, nice staff. Flavor of sauce below average for teriyaki, but they pulled off the rare feat of keeping white meat chicken chunks tender and juicy, and the veggies still crunchy. That goes a long way in my book and so I enjoyed it. Price high at $12, but it was a huge portion so I'm satisfied. Yum yum sauce more gingery and sweet than most places heavy mayo one. I liked it, but the size tub was way too small for the amount of food, same with an extra $0.50 eel sauce tub. I'll come back and update w more dishes. Update: I've since had red curry chicken, also very good. However, was disappointed in hibachi steak and shrimp, both overcooked and tough, and the basic hibachi flavor not as good as teriyaki or curry. Gonna stick with chicken from now on. Also, note that online ordering has an extra service charge, so call instead.

You can not find better sushi and it is $5 a roll. I was chosing between carolina makiband spicy girl so owner made me a roll that was half and half. If you tell Judy what you want even if not on menu she can make any thing.

When I say Good food, it definitely didn't disappoint! This wasn't my first time trying Slim Chickens. But, it was my first time trying the Club Sandwich, which will go to battle against any other fast food Sandwich in business! It was also my first time trying the smokey grilled wrap which was amazing! Update 8-1 /24 Their salads are Awesome! Go try it for yourself, let me know what you think.

First time trying Slim Chickens. Pretty good overall. The fries were the star, very fresh, perfectly cooked and salted. I had a cayenne chicken sandwich which was pretty good. The chicken was a bit thin and dry. The staff was decent.

$8 after tax for a jar that is full of whipped cream and wafers was not what I paid for. Why is there not even one full layer of banana pudding? Best believe I will be going back after seeing this to either get a refund or a new jar this is not worth the money.

First time here and it was a great experience. Fried pickles made to order. Chicken tenders and fries were hot hot, even mid afternoon. The slim sauce (think zaxbys or raising canes but sweeter) and ranch were both good. I also liked the flavored teas, I got raspberry tea. Excited to return and try their milk shakes, wings, and sauces.

The meal was full of amazing flavor. The dessert looked good, I didn't try it, maybe next time.

The service was great however I discovered my chicken was not thoroughly cooked.

We had never been to a Slim Chickens before, but we dined in. A nice person took our order, and we sat down with our number and drink cup. I got sweet tea, and they had some flavors that I liked, such as peach and raspberry. We waited a little bit for our food, but it was busy in the restaurant and in the drive-through. I ordered the Slim’s Meal that came with fries and a sauce. I also got a large side of Mac and Cheese to share. The food was delicious. Piping hot and fresh. The mac and cheese is one of the best fast food mac and cheese I’ve had. I would definitely come here again!

Tried this place today and I was hoping for a better experience. The staff at the counter were very dry.especially the lady who made the coffee.I placed the order to go and ordered a coffee while inside. The hashbrowns smelled really bad and taste just as bad as they looked. The biscuits were okay. The fried tomatoes were probably the best thing. I was very disappointed in the quality. The food was hot though. I spent about 40.00 and pretty much wasted it. I do not think it’s worth it.

A friend and I had a quick breakfast here this am, found the menu to be creative and extensive ...hard to pick. I choose poorly, I guess. The special biscuit and gravy with meat and maple flavor (sausage, burnt ends and some other meat) was terrible. My friend loved her hot honey chicken and it did taste amazing. Maybe an off day- I will try it again as the other food coming out looked amazing. Will update review to reflect next visit accordingly! Great service and atmoaphere!

We stopped by for brunch with a party of 6 and sat out on the patio. Even though we sat outside, the service was excellent and food was hot and delicious. We ordered a couple different biscuits, including pork belly, chicken salad, and spicy sausage egg and cheese biscuits. The biscuits were good but beware, the spicy packs a punch. We also ordered sides of the purple grits, which were the perfect texture, and the casserole was my favorite part- super cheesy. Highly recommend for a quick bite for brunch!

Man, this place was so good. Biscuits are big soft and buttery, the fried chicken was tender and flavorful, pimento blue grits were the best I've ever had , staff so friendly, owner was putting in work, this place is what food should be about. Simple, flavorful, good people.

It would’ve been like a 4 star experience if my biscuit didn’t have a hair in it. It grossed me out so bad and I couldn’t even touch the biscuit after. For $9(NINE) per biscuit, I would expect better hygiene. It was our first visit and I am very disappointed.

I stopped here for breakfast, while visiting a friend. Such a cute little brunch spot. Food was amazing. I don’t drink coffee but the sweet tea was excellent and per my husband the coffee was fantastic!

Been wanting to go here for a while now and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent and everyone was extremely nice. The menu is pretty unique but there's something for everybody. I will be adding this one to my go to list when I'm downtown. Update: went again today and had the steak and egg biscuit. It was *chef's kiss*! This is quickly becoming my favorite spot for breakfast.

Wow! The food is wonderful. The service is just as good. We were in the Columbia SC area and stopped in for dinner. It was so good we returned the next day for lunch before leaving town! He had the Spicy Garlic Shrimp dinner and then the Spicy Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti for lunch. I had the tilapia grilled for dinner and breaded for lunch. (Try the tartar sauce!) All of it was so delicious! Most customers seem to do take-out. However, there is a small dining area that makes it easy to eat in if you’re interested.

We are visiting for our friend’s graduation from basic training, and this was a highly recommend spot to try. Let me tell you…the amount of love, attention, care, and kindness that goes into the food AND customers is SO obvious and it makes me wish that I live in this area to visit here often! We were a party of 12, and all ordered something different. EVERYONE LOVED their respective meals! The freshly squeezed lemonade and homemade sweet tea were bomb as well! Thank you all so much for everything!!! Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Spicy garlic shrimp is so delicious. I ate it at the restaurant on the first day and to go out on the second day and ate it two days in a row. All the staff at the store were kind and amazing. The shrimp was big and fresh, and it was full of crab meat. I wanted to buy the sauce. Thank you for the delicious food.

The food was good but the service was definitely better. The front register guy was funny and talked anime w my daughter. Just having great customer service will make me come back.

This was my first time going here. I always have a positive outlook.. i didn't look at reviews just close the first place that popped up. I'm glad too. First, easy online ordering and food was ready when I got there. The lady, I hate i didn't get her name, but she was amazing.. sweet and very friendly. She gave off the best smile. I tipped ahead of time because as someone who served in the Army as a Culinary Chef for 26 years. I can always appreciate customer service that is genuine. I will definitely go here again. I forgot to rate food. I got the fish shrimp platter with broccoli and fried okra. Just what I needed and wanted. Fresh hot and seasoned to the nines. Great value for this economy..

Placed a call in order for lunch at this establishment. I ordered the spicy garlic shrimp pasta. The pasta had the right amount of spice and flavor. The amount of shrimp they put on the pasta was perfect! The service was great, along with having a nice dine in area.

We’ve been eyeing this place for a long time but since it’s a hike from home we never went, until today. We got a dark meat tub which came with fries & slaw. We also got a chicken strip basket for the kids & a chocolate dipped cone. The chicken was pretty good, it was almost too salty because of what I assume is their brine. A little honey on it balanced it out though. However it was crispy & tasty. The service was great, there were plenty of people ready to take orders & keep lines down. The kids loved the strip basket which is a plus too. Overall it’s a great chicken spot if you’re on this side of the river however if you’re looking for the best you can find I’d still give the nod to Bernie’s. I will add the ice cream was hands down the best we’ve found in midlands so far. It was light which was refreshing.

Stopped by Zestos tonight about a hour and thirty minutes before closing I wanted some of their famous chicken I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! The chicken wings I ordered tonight was not fresh, not crispy, instead they were old and limp the skin was rubbery and very greasy and tasted like old grease not to mention the fries was old, hard and cold! The last meal served should be just as good as the first one served! Very disappointed

This is one of my top chicken places around here. Management is spot on. It is A fun experience in itself watching and listening to the hussel and busell of the kids communicating orders etc. The orders are all perfectly made the way u want it or it's fixed and quick. Then after a great affordable meal you can top it off with an old fashioned hand dipped ice cream cone. Also yummy to die for butterscotch sundaes.

Visited for the first time ever today and I won't ever be returning. First off, after the cashier wrote my order down, she wrote "B- lady" on the ticket. Is that how we identify patrons now? Why can't you ask just ask for a name or go by a ticket number? She explained the process and told us to go sit down and she'll bring the food out. The chicken was too salty and the coleslaw is nasty. Dipped cone melted extremely quick. I want my $25 back!!!

I love Zesto's. I moved from West Columbia to Texas 5 years ago. Every time I come back I have to go twice. Once for a cheese burger basket and another for a chicken basket! Their slaw is awesome!

I'm very disappointed in the portion size. I ordered the spicy chicken biscuit meal and it was over $9 and the chicken was as thin as paper. The portion sizes have decreased in time but this is the worst. I would be very embarrassed to have served this to my customers.

I usually order the side salad and a small order of nuggets which I break up into the salad. Apple cider vinaigrette dressing is great on this. I love this lunch, and have never been disappointed. Until today. The lettuce today was only ok. Not as fresh and green as usual. And I had to pick out several pieces that were brown and black. Sorry to write a negative review, but figured you would want to know so you can fix it. Also took longer than usual to get our food this time.

Portion size is getting ridiculous. $6 for a 2.5oz chicken sandwich. This location consistently has the smallest sandwich filets compared to any other location. Update 1/15/2025 gave it another try and still giving out half sized sandwiches. Avoid this location.

Busy location, friendly staff. It took 25 mins in the drive thru and to get home to a half of a bowl of chicken noodle soup for$6.09 is crazy. Come on chik fila you can do better.

The food is amazing, I would recommend the cool ranch wrap and kale crunch salad. This worker named Lindley was so kind, she went out of her way to make sure I got the help I needed! She was such a good conversationalist and funny as well. I will definitely be back soon.

I often come in with a mobile order and usually just grab and go. However, I’ve been having a really bad week and have just been upset and feeling awful, so I didn’t today. When I ordered at the register, the trainee was super friendly even when I accidentally said the wrong thing. The lady that brought me my food was also really sweet and complimented my earrings. To them, it was probably just something they have to do or want to do, but for me, it genuinely pulled me out of a bad spiral.

Fantastic service & reasonable priced food. Came in for lunch. Ribs were fall off the bone excellent-5 star!! Wings were very good as weee the homemade chips. Tried the slaw which was vinegar based instead of mayo. It was okay - nothing special. Would go again.

Enjoyed a nice dinner with the family. Meals are priced well for the current state of inflation prices. Service was excellent from Alina. She was very nice and answered all the questions we had about the menu. Drinks came out quickly along with the food. The wings are very meaty. The sauces are tasty. No complaints. I will be coming back in the future.

We show up at 9:23 pm. I get it, we are a little late to the party, but conceivably that is enough time for two people to be sat, order, eat, and get out. That was not our experience. The hostess told us she would clean off a table for us. Ten minutes later she asks if we just want to sit on the patio instead, totally fine. We go back and sit at the patio bar. During the next ten minutes, not one, not two, but three entire servers pass us. No one can even manage a greeting. It’s 9:45 at this point so we leave. Man all I wanted was a beer and some wings. That whole experience was unnecessary.

Found this really cute place off a near me Google search. Natalie was such a great waitress. Really nice and offered suggestions when asked. It is so refreshing to have a sweet waitress that is just in a good mood and not mad at the world. Family environment and the food was very good. Not expensive at all for what you got. Clean and simple. Great find!

One of the best places for wings in the US! Very flavorful, and the wings are a nice size! My waitress Alina B was on point. I drink a lot. I never had to ask her for a refill! It was kind of busy when I went in, but they have sports on all of the TVs. I counted 10 of them! Very nice place to meet after work for drinks or spend time with the family. All in one spot. Very impressive!

Horrible service! Last time we went, the waitress took our order and totally left out how my wife wanted her wing chips and how I wanted my burger. It seems all Carolina Wings locations have similar customer service issues. There are better places to go. Don't waste your time here!

Sampler platter was delicious. Very filling, could not finish it. Ribs were good, wings were great. The pulled pork was moist and flavorful.

Traveling from out of state through the area and stopped for a quick bite. Got a bacon chicken sandwich combo meal. The sandwich was cold and dry. Went to ask the big guy behind the counter for some BBQ sauce just to get the sandwich up to par so my friend and I could eat real quick and get back on the road. The guy said it'll be .27 and gave an attitude. Said he will replace the sandwich with an attitude. So instead of just giving a .27 BBQ sauce, he insisted on replacing a sandwich that costs far more. Also, if you want a clean table to sit at to eat, better clean them yourself. Word to the wise if traveling in the area, don't stop at this location.

The chicken was very good. I got a spicy 3pc combo. But service was slow. And they were out of Beans & Rice and the Mac-n-Cheese, at 6:30, middle of the dinner hour! The biscuit and slaw were just okay.

Waited 20 minutes in line to get a Diet Coke with no syrup and half my order was incorrect. Subpar service, long drive thru line, food was also overcooked. I had to remind the woman at the window of what was in my order and they still managed to get it wrong.

If I could leave a 0 star review I would the general manager needs to be fired they got my order wrong 3 times I waited 30 mins had to come back twice and the cook wanted to argue about what was on the ticket vs what she put on the wraps 3 employees were in the back room fighting there was no one out front multiple customers left because there was no employees the one guy who was out front was on his phone and wouldn’t speak to customers ……. Ordered 6 piece BONELESS wings, asked for boneless twice. I do not eat chicken still on the bone. I get home after spending almost 12$ to find I have bone IN chicken. Literally 0 people inside and I was the only one in the drive thru at the time. Fries were old cold and stale. Every bit of the wings went straight into the trash. SMH, you gotta do better than this. I RARELY eat at Popeyes. This definitely has me wanting to stick to Bojangles. What a way to waste money 🙄

My family tried Hickory Tavern for the first time a few weeks ago. We dined in the patio which was well maintained and a pleasant atmosphere with tvs and a fireplace. We were greeted with smiles and there was no wait (on a Friday around 5). I enjoyed a salad and appreciate the option to build my salad since I have several food sensitivities/allergies.

First time here! I will be back and I mean very soon. The food I had was absolutely delish. My plus one enjoyed their food equally. I had the Asian honey lime ribs and I can’t stop thinking about them. I also had the street corn for a side and I’ve never tasted something so good.

Hickory Tavern is a great upscale restaurant and bar. It offers a mature atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant also has a private room capable of hosting 10-20 patrons. Our food was accurately prepared to our request. The food arrived hot and presented well. I ordered the ribs and sweet potato fries. Delicious! The sweet potato fries came with a lightly sweetened drizzle, which I found to be a perfect pairing. I will certainly visit again in the near future. $$ Free parking. ♿️ friendly.

Had a Sorority meeting in a room that can be closed off. Bryce was our server he was very knowledgeable and professional. The food was hot , fresh, and delicious. The atmosphere was great.

We sat at the bar and Trina took great care of us. The Spinach and Artichoke dip was the creamiest ever and delicious. I had Chicken Caprese and it was perfect. My husband had the Mushroom Swiss burger cooked to his liking. Make a point to stop in when nearby.

Really friendly staff with excellent service. For the most part food was good. Appetizer was good, I recommend the pre game platter or the shred heads.

Xavier F was our server and he was great. The food was hot and flavorful, albeit the cook time was very long. The nachos out in about 15 minutes and 30 minutes later our entrees came out. There were minimal guest in the restaurant. Xavier apologized for delay / inconvenience and a 50% discount was offered. Great recovery!.

It was, unfortunately, not very good. The atmosphere was cool, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about it. The staff wasn't exactly rude, but they weren't the kindest or most welcoming restaurant staff I've ever met either. Also, I went to D's during College Football Bowl Season, so there should have been multiple games on multiple different TVs. However, they showed the same game on every TV, which was actually just a replay of a game that had already ended. I don't really know why they didn't put several different games on, as that's kind of the point of going to a bar. As for the food, the chicken tenders and fries were pretty bad, I could've gotten much better at a fast food restaurant like McDonald's or Bojangles. The tenders weren't necessarily awful, but they weren't good either. The fries however, were awful. They came out cold and mushy, and I had a hard time even finishing them. Finally, I got a margarita to drink, which again, was simply not very good. The atmosphere at D's was interesting, and good enough to save it from a one-star review. However, I don't think I see myself coming back any time soon.

Was in town for work on National Wing Day and this place did not disappoint. I’m from Atlanta so I’ve had some great wings and these bad boys are up there in flavor and size. Some of the meatiest wings I’ve ever had. Lexis was great and helped me pick out the sauces by providing a sauce sampler plate with 4 different sauces which I’ve never experienced before. She was very patient and accommodating with me being a first timer. I’ll absolutely be back next time I’m in town!

We used to love this place, but unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill. Ordered food to-go tonight, and it was a disappointing experience. Not only did I not receive my full order, but the food I did get looked unappealing and lacked the flavor and care we used to enjoy. It’s frustrating to see a once-great spot lose its touch. Hoping they can turn things around, but for now, I’ll be looking elsewhere.

Love some wings. Went with the Spicy Parmesan, and it was great. With the generous amount of sauce (still had it's crispyness) probably did not need the blue cheese on the side, but it was on point. Very good and will be back🤙.

Great menu selection, amazing portions and good atmosphere and fast service. From food to drinks there is something for everyone. I was amazed at the portion size of the appetizers and the drink prices for 16 and 20 oz beers is average. Chicken wings are good and they have a large selection of dry rubs and sauces. Good place to go with small or large group. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Certainly will recommend this restaurant to others!

This is my first time getting food from D’s wings since they’ve moved from the old location. And I have to say I very much enjoyed my meal. I like the idea for the wing combo where you get a little bit of boneless and bone in wings. The sauce flavor Lemonaki is so goooood. The Spicy parmesan was delightful as well. Our sever tonight was Mae and she was so nice and attentive to our table. She was to give me a small sample of the Citrus Kick wing sauce, which I thought was very nice of her. I definitely will be getting that flavor next time. Another thing that was cool to see was the dollar wall something that the old location was known for. Aside from the wings of course (:

I want to preface this by stating the only reason we selected D’s was because it won “best wings” under “best of columbia” recently and this just simply could not be farther from the truth. We went on Saturday around mid day me and two friends. Restaurant was decently busy but we were seated pretty quickly and handed menus. Immediately I was taken back, menus are straight out of 1999 an obnoxiously large tri-fold covered in that thick protective plastic layer. Now this wasn’t anything outright terrible but when the menu is also caked in food grime and other shit to the point I barely even wanted to touch it that’s ridiculous and this wasn’t just an off thing with my menu it was all 3 of us. Then to top it off we get served drinks with no straws and had to ask them after that ordered a Pitcher of beer which got to the table almost room temp. Then we got the wings and fries which each of us ordered. Bland under cooked barely crispy and the lack of overall seasoning or flavor from the sauce choices was very apparent. I’m sorry but there are a dozen places that serve better wings in this city and I cannot fathom how they were rated best of anything. Overall the experience had us so unsatisfied we left without finishing the food and made a decision to go eat elsewhere.

Atmosphere received 5 because of my personal preference. It’s dark, dated but clean. Are there some light bulbs out? Yes. Does that matter to me? In this case no. I looked around and see hard working people cleaning tables, a very friendly welcome upon arrival and received excellent service from Lexis. I hear people laughing and see a fairly full bar for a Wednesday at 8pm making the atmosphere lively and up beat. I ordered the prime rib sandwich that did not disappoint, was cooked as I asked and promptly served. A highlight for me was the “raw potatoes” and home made ranch Lexis brought because she thought I’d like it. Very happy overall - great to find a place away from home with a warm welcome. Lexis

We've been coming here for years. We would come more often but for the drive from Lexington. Tasty fresh food. Sandwiches and wings are great. Also, consistantly fresh draft Yuengling, which we seem to have a problem getting at Lexington bars, including Wings n Ale and Goodfellows.

**Update** Since it's been a year since our last mediocore experience here we went back again this past week for all you can eat crab legs. We were even more disappointed than before. I have never had crab legs so small at any all you can eat crab leg location in my life and I've been eating them for over 20 years. It was sad how small they were. Some of the claws were literally as big as my thumb. I have attached a few photos of the crab legs and these were not the smaller ones, these were the bigger ones we got. We also had to chase down the staff several times and ask for more crab legs because numerous times there would be 5+minutes where we were sitting at the table with empty plates just waiting for more refills. The place wasn't even that busy either. If you are going to spend this kind of money on all you can eat crab legs definitely look elsewhere. ----------------------------------------- We went for the all you can eat crab legs. The restaurant was nice, and the crab legs were great. The service could have been better though. We kept running out of crab legs and having to wait for our waitress to bring more. She kept disappearing for long periods of time. Luckily other staff stepped up and brought more out for us since they saw us waiting. Besides the slack waitress, everything else was great!

We enjoyed the Moday evening all you can eat crab legs and have visited 3 or 4 times. I recommend that you request seating away from the bar area if you are bringing children to the restaurant as it can get busy in the bar area. You have to walk through the bar area to get to the men's restroom. We were not impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. We do not plan to return to Vella's.

Enjoyed having dinner here multiple times! I love going here to get wings and I have taken many friends, as well as family members here. The atmosphere and building itself is dark and dated but it doesn't bother most people during dinnertime due to it being dark outside as well. Depending on who your server is, you'll have either amazing service or the bare minimum (experienced both). Overall recommend for a local dinner out.

Not only did I just eat the most incredible and PERFECTLY cooked crab legs ( Thank you chefs 👨🏽‍🍳👨🏼‍🍳) I also was quite fortunate and blessed with the most PHENOMENAL and AMAZING waitress. Her name is Kristie and suffice it to state that she certainly could be used as the measuring stick gauge to which all other servers should be measured. Her friendliness and kindness along with her attentiveness and attention to detail is absolutely beyond 💯!!! She is a true gem 💎. I can only hope 🤞that she is working each time I come in to dine!!! The manager is also very kind and welcoming to all guests and I watched as she herself said a friendly hello and spoke/checked in to each table in my view. The nice 2 gentleman that were going to tables to dump the crab shell buckets… Y’all were AWESOME and beautifully kept everyone’s buckets cleaned so that there was always room to load more! Fabulous job gents!!! Summary : The most AMAZING service and food I can remember having in quite a long time 🥰🙌 Kudos to this entire staff!!!

Ordered through the drive thru. I had the six fingers chicken meal dipped in tounge torch sauce. The meal was delicious! I tried their new menu item, the chipotle ranch tacos. They were delicious, just a little disappointed that it only comes with 1 chicken tender on the tacos. Paying $3 bucks for 1 chicken tender on a taco is not cost effective to me!

Must try this place hot fresh food made. Best customers service. Even went with busy drive thru and inside was busy,unmatched the workers kept getting orders out hot and fresh. Will be going back. The manager or shift lead is amazing she a true warrior. Ten out ten Must try.

These people do not care about making your food right at all. I get it's fast food but if you don't like it get another job. Too many times I've had cold unseasoned fries which they're known for and one time my chicken sandwich didn't even come with a CHICKEN ON IT. Just lettuce tomato cheese. You'd think the employees would know what ingredients come with their meals. NOPE 1/10.

Wonderful customer service from fast and the restaurant was clean and Jamila was great my family and I stopped here on our way out of South Carolina and it was flavorful and quick the only thing I would suggest is a cleaner restroom and maybe turning the air conditioner up it was a lil humid but decent inside

We are not frequent customers at Zaxby’s, but wanted to give them a try. First time experience at this location. Waited in the drive through and ordered a kids meal with a sprite and kickin chicken meal with a coke. After sitting in line and paying, we got our food and no drinks. While waiting on our drinks, I opened the food and saw a chicken finger meal. I showed Keasia that the order was wrong and she caught a bad attitude with my husband and I. After looking at what we were charged, our ticket was correct. Another employee came up and was being nice, trying to help and all she could do is be rude to us. We told the other employee the order was wrong and we were also missing our drinks. Keasia responded, “We are working on it” and slammed the window shut. Once we received our food, it was hot and fresh, but I would much rather not deal with someone that has a bad attitude. After all, it was not our fault the order was wrong. Never been to this location and probably will not be back to give it another try. Rude employees with nasty attitudes are the worst!

Food was great as usual but decided to eat in and noticed that the new cashier was wiping the tables down with the same towel that he had just wiped the trash cans down with. Maybe a teaching moment.

I recently dined solo here, and the service was easily the highlight of the experience. My server had a great attitude, was attentive, and made sure I was well taken care of. The space itself felt a bit cramped, the downstairs dining area could definitely benefit from a more open and refined layout. I initially ordered the Caesar salad, but the lettuce was wilted, likely from sitting under a heat source or soaking too long in dressing. Fortunately, the server was quick to remake it without hesitation, which I really appreciated. For drinks, the Hugo Spritz was refreshing and well-balanced. The Chrysalis cocktail, however, had an unpleasant chemical taste, almost like tire rubber, definitely a miss. I also tried the bolognese, which was pretty good. The noodles were slightly overcooked, but overall the flavor profile was very nice. Overall, the service was excellent and genuinely improved the experience, the food and atmosphere didn’t quite meet my expectations but I’ll try anything at least three times.

Came here with family while visiting south Carolina. Place has a great feel about it Great place to come and talk with friends and family Bar service is self service by ordering at the bar. They will bring your food choices it to your table. Drinks as well you would need to go to the bar. Down stairs has all the amenities you would expect. Just depends on your moment. Our food choices came out to our likening. No issues with our food choices Blackrooster lived up to all the other reviews. It’s a great place to come and eat rooftop is a great place to enjoy the scenery along with your food and most of all with your friends and family.

If you were looking at the menu, reviews and/or pictures and wondering if they have good food.. the answer is YES. The burger & fries ….. Please, do yourself a favor. GET IT! I do believe that this may be the absolute BEST burger/fry combination I’ve ever had! And honestly (I’m not a burger girl!) The cheese, the caramelized onions.. worth every calorie. The service was incredible! Grace was so sweet & attentive my entire visit. She played with babies, stood and listened while I talked her head off. The drinks were perfectly made. Don’t even get me started on THE PLAYLIST. I individually downloaded every single song. Then, to top it all off, the chocolate, strawberry dessert with mascarpone was absolute perfection! This is now my favorite place in Columbia. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Had a nice dinner at Black Rooster. The staff was friendly. Had the Burrata to start - the meal was a good refresher but the Burrata could be of better quality. The main meals were equally tasty. The food preparation was timely! Would return.

Wife and I went just to try the place. We went to the roof top to get away from street noise. We started with drinks which unfortunately were very watered down. We then ordered the brisket burger and pasta. The brisket burger had no trditional brisket but supposedly had brisket mixed with the hamburger. We both love brisket and regularly smoke our own. Raw beef that could to used to make brisket is NOT brisket. Anyone that tell you different needs to return to culinary school. As expected it tasted like a cheap, very overcooked burger to us. Add insult to injury the fries the accompanied the hamburger were delivered cold. The pasta was under cooked far beyond Al dente and the rest of the dish was just as unremarkable as the mixed drinks. The menu promised elevated cuisine but delivered less than we have had a decent local restaurants for half the price. Based on our experience we cannot recommend this establishment.

Hubs and I went for birthday celebration and sat on the rooftop. Bar service only up there but it's no problem - order and pay at the bar and servers serve as usual. This Sicilian was blown away by the food, from apps to entrees to desserts. The rooftop is fun and servers were terrific. 10/10 will go again!

Switching from French cuisine to Italian was a smart move. My husband celebrated his birthday here and it was a really nice experience. I made reservations and let the staff know ahead of time that it was his birthday. Not to mention the hostesses were the sweetest young ladies ever and I hate I forgot to ask their names again before we left. Drew, our server was the absolute best! He was friendly, attentive, and not overbearing or bothersome. We started off with an awesome sparking water and antipasti charcuterie board and escargot. For our main dishes hubby had the scallops and pasta (sorry forgot the name) and I had soft shell crab. Both of these dishes were amazing. To end the night, Drew brought out the ricotta cake with berry sorbet and WOW that was good too. The entire experience from door to table was exceptional. The only thing I’d change is changing the bread to having crackers as a choice when serving the cheese or antipasti board. If it’s not raining , hit the rooftop, it’s beautiful up there. We spent over $100 without any alcohol.

I was excited to finally try the food here. I ordered General Tso Chicken combo with fried rice with eggroll sold separately. My total was 11 and change. The chicken had no flavor at all. No sweetness or spice. The rice had huge pieces of peppers in it and really had no flavor as well. I was extremely disappointed.

This place is fire best Chinese food that I’ve had in a long time. Menu is very simple but I recommend the Super Combo that includes fried rice with your choice of protein, 2 wings, 1 egg roll and sweet tea.. The portions are great! The egg roll is big one of the biggest egg rolls I’ve had. The fried rice is very good I had them add some chili paste to the fried rice and it was incredible. This is going to be my new go to spot for Chinese. One final thing the prices are very reasonable the combo was less than $10. You’ll be full with that plate!

The absolute best Chinese food in the Midlands at the best prices. Staff is incredibly friendly and patient as you learn the menu. HIGHLY recommend the egg rolls, fried rice and chicken wings. It's important to note they only accept cash.

Freaking delicious egg rolls and wings at a great price! This place has been here for decades! Unfortunately, it looks like it too. The wings are HUGE(so are the egg rolls), which may be scary for some. The wings and egg rolls have a good deal of pepper that will send your taste buds asking for more. Lastly, there is a chicken plant across the street so that smell is likely coming from that.

My son's move in when they were first opening. As a property manager myself I was very impressed with the overall place. The one thing I did see that is real needed was a strong manager staff. Having some college students as leasing agent are good, but having a strong lead is the most important. I have been running the same complex for 8 yrs and I gave the old manager some suggestions to improve. They had a great maintenance staff as well. At that time she did used some of my suggestions and the students were happy. This new staff are not holding people accountable for actions. Hopefully it will get better because I had suggested the apartment to several parents a d students they are transferring..

When moving in we were given a disgusting room. Covered in filth and not even attempted to be cleaned. Backed up sinks, mold, stains everywhere, piles of garbage, vomit in the closet, an EXTREME mold problem, etc. When the situation was brought to the attention of the front desk workers, they yelled at us (my mother and I) and told us we were being unreasonable. That none of that had anything to with them. They told us the room would be cleaned eventually and to just deal with it until then. Extremely unprofessional. If the bedroom, kitchen, or bathroom were in livable condition that would have been no problem. But unfortunately they were not. I could not even unpack my things during my first week of class living here. Also, sure I could have cleaned it myself, but i did choose to live and pay rent here to clean up the mess that was given to me. Eventually, after my roommate, mother, and I complained enough they found a room that had opened up and offered us to move into that new room instead. We decided to take that offer as we just wanted to settle in and begin to enjoy our time at college. Since we moved from a 5 bedroom to a 2 bedroom there was a price jump, they were gracious enough to keep us at the 5 bedroom rates. ONLY after I had a conversation with staff and told them that charging us the 2 bedroom was unreasonable. Once again, we did not ask or choose to live in a 2 bedroom. They offered it to us since nobody had cleaned the apartment we were moving into prior to us getting there or a week and a half after. After living in the 2 bedroom at a 5 bedroom rate for a year, they asked us if we wanted to renew our lease. We said we would so that we didn't have to move out and relocate. The following year once our lease began, we were charged at a 2 bedroom rate. We were not given the option to move into a 5 bedroom nor were we alerted that we would be charged at a 2 bedroom rate. But at that point, we would have had to pay more to break our leases. So instead we both had to work our butts off to pay higher rent that did not agree to. The way the office handled the entire situation of us living here was extremely unprofessional. I wish i remembered the name of the two girls that yelled at my mother and I the first day I was here. They were down right rude and do not deserve their job if they are going to use it as an excuse to treat their tenants like that. Besides all of that, the pool was completely unusable for a year. The stairwells have smelled like piss the entirety of my stay here. The garage gate was broke 80% of the time which allowed people in the neighborhood to park in the parking garage to smoke weed, litter, and take up parking spots. I know multiple peoples who's cars were broken into and the apartment complex barely did anything to assist or help them. The gate was attempted to be fixed maybe twice, after that it seemed they gave up. Security did not do their job either as homeless persons would roam the halls and others would do drugs in the stairwells. Also since having a balcony with windows that don't lock and can be opened from the outside, it was a terrifying sleep almost overnight. I woke up a few times to persons on my balcony trying open our door/windows. Overall, choose absolutely anywhere else if you want to enjoy your college experience.

1. Everything was falling apart when we started the lease. Sink, light bulbs, heating, doors. 2. The windows are not isolated at all. 3. The wifi had multiple problems during the second semester which prevented me from passing several interviews in my own home. 4. I applied to be a community assistant and never got any answer positive nor negative. Which is a lack of respect. 5. Got my bike stolen right in front of the building. And, "of course" the cameras weren't working. 6. Security is totally incompetent and watching movies all night. We don't need any keys to enter the building. 7. Trash systems are the worst, we can see trash bags all over the back of the building. So do yourself a favor, don't rent at Station.

Overall content with my stay here. I spoke with the manager Shanay at the pool party they had and she was also really sweet. The front desk staff is really nice and every time I have an issue maintenance normally comes quick.

Though convenient location, prices have fees that hike up the rent by a decent amount. Also, though “security” helps the fact it is located in a sketchy area, the gate blocking all access to the parking garage besides residents, has not been fixed for months even after a recent issue with multiple cars being broken into. If you are looking for an apartment, I would consider another complex. Edit: Update to this review 4 months after the owners response, the gates have yet to be fixed and the fire alarm still goes off constantly. The security is still an issue, i will update my review again as the months go on.

i seriously dont know what i can say short of absolutely awful. for starters, the security is completely nonexistent. we had homeless people entering the building and sleeping in the elevator bays. when residents complain to security, they blame it on the residents. the garage arm and door that were supposed to keep the building protected were up and broken the entire year and even slammed on the hood of my car, leaving damage. when i contacted the apartment about such damage, they quickly cut me off, saying that this same issue had happened with several other residents and did absolutely nothing to rectify the issue, nor did they ever contact me about the damage done to my car, even after i had left my information. i could go on and on about the lack of safety, cleanliness, and help that this apartment has, but google has a limit on characters that can be used… i will say that the apartment is pretty convenient since it’s in five points and is relatively close to campus; but honestly, for me, convenience is not worth jeopardizing safety or comfortability.

Been going to the office quite a lot to ask a few questions about parking and maintenance. Every time I go down there this guy named James is super helpful and answers all my questions swiftly. That guy definitely needs a raise, best customer service I have seen in a while.

Nightcaps struck me as a below-average bar. It definitely epitomizes the term "dive bar," but I don't really mean that in a good way. The inside of the restaurant was very old-fashioned, but to the point of looking gross and unkempt. The bartender wasn't exactly rude, but I had to stand at the bar for about five (5) minutes before having my order taken. What I really didn't like about Nightcaps however, was the other patrons. They were very obnoxious and rude, and struck me as being very cliquish. When I was standing at the bar waiting for my drink to be made, this lady screamed in my ear to the bartender, and became visibly upset when the bartender wouldn't drop what she was doing and immediately close her tab. In my opinion, Nightcaps tries to serve as a "classic," "relic of the past," type of bar, but kind of misses the mark. It wasn't really my vibe.

Stopped by this location on Easter Sunday, since a lot of the other locations were closed. I had the spicy teriyaki wings, which had a great flavor. I also had the egg rolls, which were amazing. The dipping sauce went very well, with the egg rolls. The customer service was great. The gentleman at the door helped with me getting a menu. The bar tender Gabe was very friendly. Definitely a great spot to pop in to grab drinks, or shoot a game of pool.

The staff make it so much fun. Such a range of patrons, but everyone gets a long so we'll and there is such a fun atmosphere. It's no fancy place, but again, if you want an enjoyable experience, head over. They also have a jukebox, pool table, and an outdoor patio with TV in the back.

me and a friend went by for a drink. needless to say we are BOTH of age though we are college students. We ordered our drink & he asked for a ID which i proceeded to pull out. while i was holding it waiting for him to come look at it, he overlooked us 5 times INTENTIONALLY. When i finally got his attention he looked at both of our IDs threw them across the counter and said “that’s fake” as he proceeded to mix our drink. We told him we had just both turned 21 in the last 6 months he continued to argue that they were fake all while cussing out another customer who was an older man. Needless to say the bar tender “Ryan” will be the reason i will NEVER go back.

I CAN'T believe I've lived in COLUMBIA for close to 3 YEARS, and I've been to Nightcaps several times to play pool, and just enjoy a "Nightcap!" BUT.... THERE'S A HIDDEN GEM IN THIS JOINT... BEST MOZZARELLA CHEESE STIX EVA!!! I've been missing out for YEARS, and JUST FOUND THE GREATEST OF THE GREAT FRIED MOZZARELLA, since Max n Erma's left the south!! Out of ALL Places... AT NIGHTCAPS, a laid back, chill environment, serves ALL kinds of food until 1am....THAT IS HARD TO FIND NOWADAYS! The staff is Awesome, prices are affordable.. BUT most of ALL it's a "Hometown Feel" that you will definitely want to continue to run to! I can't wait until I get over my Fried Cheese addiction, so I can devour into ALL of the other Great options on their menu!! 💯💯 Thanks Nightcaps, You have a New Fan in Me!! 😇😇😇

Just a classy corner bar. Everyone I encountered working here was very welcoming and helpful to out of towners. They have freshly prepared food options, not just a drop in a deep fryer. Place does open up a lot earlier on game day than they have listed. Call to check their hours.

We went here based on a Reddit posting and their other ratings/reviews because peeps were saying how this satisfied their NY sandwich craving. If Google allowed for half ratings, this place would receive a 3.5 stars. However, it’s a solid 3. There’s no room to order a sandwich from scratch, but just to modify one of their sandwiches. Food ordering apps do not show/offer all of their sandwiches. Their main menu does not show all their offerings either, just pieces of paper with them. The space was clearly originally an ante room or foyer of the apartment building the eatery resides in. Does not come off as an eating place. There are only a few designated parking spots for them, so I’m curious to see if people ever get tickets or towed if they have to park elsewhere. The food itself tasted good. So if you’re looking for a good chicken cutlet sandwich that you also cannot CALL in (there’s no number to be found), then this is the place for you. Or an Italian combo hero (not sure what they call it, but LI NY, it’s a hero).

Visited during the lunch hour for a superb Artichoke Caprese! I added hot peppers for heat, definitely was a great add to the overall flavor! I was surprised at the size, I honestly could’ve saved half for dinner. I’ll definitely be back!

Read it was the "Best chicken parmigiana sandwich " in S.C. Three of us headed out to find out. We had trouble locating the place and then there was a sign that said they MOVED! Thank goodness it was only minutes away. The sandwich was awesome. 2 of us are from Jersey and we set the bar pretty high, lol. Deffinetly recommend this place.

first time trying this deli, very delicious! as someone from the northeast, this is the closest to home i've had since moving to the south. the cannolis are good as well! highly recommend.

Pleasantly surprised by the food here! I ordered the Italian sub and it was perfect! It was loaded with meat and a great dressing! The bread was not soggy or hard which held everything together perfectly. The cannolis were to die for! Those things were like crack! The only thing that sucked was parking as they only had 3 customer spots, but plenty of reserved spots you could snag.

First try today a little disappointing. This is basically a to go place with no tables inside but 2 or 3 outside which were unused. I definitely didn’t expect. There is a separate room next door which opens at 6? with wine etc. We ordered the Tina which was ok and the chicken with vodka sauce sub which was pretty good but just a piece of chicken with cheese and sauce on it. A complaint I have (which to go people don’t care about) is they have no cups or ice for your drink. Mine was mildly cool and needed ice as it warmed up quickly. Other sub pictures looked pretty good but the cashier said the chicken I had was the most ordered sub. If they change a little, I will be back.

Very pleasant and clean atmosphere. Greeter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. For lunch, we had the yummy bites with a side of jasmine rice and yucca fries. Very tasy sauces served with rice and chicken. Chicken was moist and hand breaded, fried to perfection. Will definitely return! Highly recommend.

Very inviting atmosphere. I had the jerk leg quarters, coconut jasmine rice, and sauteed veggies. The rice and veggies were delicious; however, the seasoning like breading on the chicken was a little too salty for me. I will visit again but will try the chicken kebobs the next time.

When I walked into andCHICKEN, I didn't know what to expect. I was unsure about the type of cuisine offered. All I knew was, it was chicken. But the young lady at the register had excellent customer service and asked if we would like to try samples of the food to help us order. Right off the bat, the Mac and cheese looked like TRUE oven baked Mac and cheese. If you know, you know. I tried the Mac and cheese and coconut rice, which had me rethinking my desire for chicken and waffles. A friend tried the plantains but said they were a little greasy. The young lady asked if I ever tried gizzard, which I hadn't, so I tried a little piece. I didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't that. It was so tender and flavorful. I would eat gizzard from there again. I ended up ordering what you see in the Pic, Chicken and waffle with a side of Mac and cheese, topped off with a ginger beer. The waffle was soft and moist. It didn't get soggy when syrup was poured on it. The chicken was flavorful and moist. The seasonings and flavors at andCHICKEN are African/Jamaican. I would definitely come back again. Entrees also receive a free coffee with meal. Plus there are many appetizing desserts to purchase. I will definitely be back.

Went here on someone's recommendation, and it did not disappoint. My first experience with this type of cuisine so I cannot speak to the authenticity. But the food was absolutely delicious! Walking to the counter with hesitancy, I was given a thourough explanation of the cuisine, offered suggestions and even offered to sample before placing my order. I chose the chicken with coconut rice and fried plantains. My husband went with the kabobs and Mac and cheese. After bringing us our food, we were then brought samples of sauces to use, and she explained how they typically use each sauce with the dishes we ordered. The food was so flavorful and I don't think I have ever had chicken that yummy! The customer service is above and beyond and the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back for more!

Absolutely incredible lunch here. Went with the coconut rice and leg quarters and was blown away. Cannot recommend this place enough to friends because of the heart that goes into every meal and dessert. Did I mention they have red velvet cake? Red velvet cake so good not even my grandmother could best it.

I, along with 2 co-workers, visited your Main Street location around 8:14am on 2.25.25. Upon arrival, the cashier did not greet any of us and acted annoyed that we were in the establishment. During the visit, we asked about two (2) familiar employees that we have interacted with in the past and she gave a very rude and dismissive response. After one of my co-workers placed her order for your famous dirty grits using cash, this rude cashier placed her change on the counter. Our practice has utilized your establishment for catering orders in the past and have patronized this business on various occasions and even had the opportunity to meet the owner while he was assisting at the Main Street location. This is certainly not the behavior anyone should/would expect from an employee, particularly at a cafe where our prior customer service experiences have been superb. To be frank, this cashier needs to be re-trained on how to interact with customers.

Owners need to take note., this experience is not SS worthy Early Saturday , almost empty, but long wait to be served and coffee to arrive .Check out what a machiato should be !Two people ahead of me walked out and returned to patio with food/ coffee from elsewhere. Asked to repeat order twice and it still came out wrong. Asked if scones fresh, was told, .. “yes , yesterday “!!! Scone was stale , dry and frozen in the middle . Patio full of non SS customers .

Staff member was not welcoming at all. When I walked in the look she gave me was as if I had done some heinous act. Decided to order a Iced Americano and she gave me a Double shot Latte. She needs more training or why run a cafe that nobody wants to visit??
