Nestled in the heart of Charlottesville's historic district, 200 South Street Inn offers a charming retreat with its vibrant, antique-filled rooms and suites. Housed in two Georgian homes dating back to the 19th century, this traditional inn exudes Southern hospitality and rich history. Guests can immerse themselves in the elegant ambiance adorned with English and Belgian antiques, original fireplaces, and four-poster canopy beds.
This place is fantastic. The staff are lovely and the rooms are gorgeous. I even had a little footstool for my teddy bear. The breakfast was great. Real food, not like many hotel breakfasts. And the wine and cheese in the library as delightful. I left a necklace in the room I was in, so contacted the hotel later that day. They found it and mailed it to me promptly. I've been back for only a week (I live in another country) and the necklace was in my mailbox today. I would go back to this place in a heartbeat.

I have stayed at the Inn for more than a decade with my friends and family, but was very disappointed in my most recent trip there. The breakfast offerings were limited and did not seem fresh. The guest bathroom off the lobby was FILTHY. More than any of this, the staff (with the exception of Kat) were not at all warm or welcoming. They were curt, did not make eye contact, and kept cigarettes visible on the counter. A simple request to turn off bright patio lights to improve sleep went unneeded. The cheese biscuits we requested were hidden away in the kitchen. When my friends and I asked for the owner's info, we eventually got an email address fir the manager a week or two later. My thoughtful email aimed at improving one of my favorite places did not even merit a reply. Given all of this, I have sadly concluded I can no longer enjoy the Inn. The value (it was $800 for a weekend) is just not there any more and apparently they don't care.

I would stay here every time. It's perfectly located and staff are wonderful. Cheese and wine happy hour was a lovely touch and we really enjoyed breakfast. The rooms are beautiful.
Cinzia — Google review
This place is great for a weekend getaway. We were greeted with smiles, light conversation and free homemade cookies. There was also an evening cheese and wine bar available. We had ours by the fire in the next room over. Our room was incredibly clean and cozy. We were very close to the walking mall . Their breakfast was delicious as everything is made from scratch. The coffee was a delicious blend made by Shenandoah Joe just a few miles away. We stopped by and purchased the blend to take home, that’s how much I enjoyed it. We can’t wait to come back!!!!
Zak T — Google review
Absolutely delightful! Fresh cookies greet you at reception, and there's a daily wine and cheese hour to provide a cozy little pause during a busy weekend of sightseeing. Nice breakfast as well. All the staff is super friendly. Terrific location, we left our car at the inn all day and explored downtown on foot. Clean, tidy rooms (#12 is bigger than it appears on the website, which was nice!) Already planning to stay here the next time we visit.

My wife and I stayed for two nights and had an absolutely amazing time! The staff are all extremely polite, professional and go above and beyond for the guests. The room was very clean and appointed with beautiful antique furniture. Breakfast and afternoon wine were perfect! Highly recommended!
Rick G — Google review
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful inn. We were impressed by the staff, who upgraded us immediately when he realized there would be construction noise near our chosen room. The wine and cheese hour is great and breakfast was delicious each day. It could not be in a better location- a block away from the mall and the best bars and restaurants. We only gave 4 stars for the rooms because we thought the bed was too firm. But otherwise- perfection.
Stephanie B — Google review
I stayed here once before back in 2012 with my family. Moved back to the DC area a couple years ago and finally had a chance to come back - this place is fantastic!! I love the B&B idea - shared wine and cheese in the main room in the evening and had a chance to interact with other guests. Breakfast in the same room in the morning. Also really great wrap around porch that you can sit on. Rooms were great - clean, well-appointed, pretty spacious. We stayed in room 21 in the cottage. There’s a train track nearby and you can hear the train but it’s not intrusive (I slept right through it! My husband said the 6am one woke him up but was quick and he fell right back to sleep). Easy walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants. South Street Brewery is right next door and was great. Free on site parking. Easy drives to Monticello and wine tasting. Would 100% stay here again!!

The Graduate by Hilton Charlottesville is a trendy boutique hotel located conveniently across from the University of Virginia. With retro-inspired decor and a youthful vibe, it offers budget-friendly luxury with amenities such as a restaurant, rooftop dining, free WiFi, and pet accommodations. The hotel's location on Main Street puts guests within walking distance of UVA campus attractions, eateries, galleries, and downtown Charlottesville.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Graduate for business. The hotel is a short distance from the CHO airport and in the heart of UVA and UVA Medical. The hotel is clean, I felt safe and was able to work and rest well. Max and Leann handled an extremely out of the ordinary issue with kindness and due to their above and beyond efforts the matter was resolved with the best possible outcome. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again for vacation. My only reason for 4 stars on the room is because I prefer to see matress covers under bedsheets but the bed was clean so it would not prevent me from staying here again.

Didn't stay in room, but went for a wedding reception in the Piedmont room. Very nice cocktail hour and coffee bar set up by the small bar area. Food was good. Service ok. We spent most of the reception with dirty plates on the table. Never cleared the room. Seemed like they were short staffed and only 3 men running the hotel! My plus one and I were tempted to find a bus pan and knock it out. Too many years in the service industry! But overall, it was good. Fantastic views, great location, and beautiful decor!

Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, but when they kept my mom (in the hospital) overnight, we were able to cancel her room for the 2nd night to avoid being charged. We appreciated the flexibility. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The view was great. There is a nice area to sit/walk outside that is quiet and peaceful.
Wendy S — Google review
Cute hotel near UVA hospital. Rooms are adorable, very roomy. Good internet. The rooftop bar has good drinks and beautiful views. Love the vibe. Easy parking and very convenient location. Check in and check out is easy and everyone was super nice and friendly.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Graduate Hilton. The customer service at the front desk was unacceptable. The staff rolled their eyes, were dismissive, and offered no real help when I had a simple valet question. The attitude was rude from the start. We also had to wait 25 minutes just to check in at 5:30pm, which is ridiculous given the cost. For $350 a night, the experience was shocking. There was no bath mat provided, so I had to use the only hand towel as one which meant we then had no hand towels at all. Towels weren’t replenished, there were no cups in the room, no complimentary breakfast, and not even basic coffee service — only a long line to purchase it. Absolutely nothing felt included in the stay. The overall experience was a complete waste of money. The lack of hospitality, missing amenities, and rude service made this one of the most frustrating hotel stays I’ve ever had. Save yourself the disappointment. This hotel is not worth the price.

Beware of large event weekends. I booked this hotel 1.5 months in advance, was called at 6pm on the evening of check-in that my room had been given away because the hotel had been overbooked. They provided accommodations at nearby hotel. Furthermore, please be aware that they do not accept cancellations ahead of time for any reason during Alumni weekend events.
Lauren M — Google review
The manager, Max, is professional, welcoming and prioritizes guests experiences! All the employees are very friendly but I especially appreciate, Terry and Jay, who were incredibly responsive and helpful! I appreciate their kindness and positivity! It was great customer service!
Nicole P — Google review
This hotel is depressing and dingy. We stopped to have a drink at the rooftop bar. The front desk attendant and some other employees we met exiting the elevator were unprofessional. At the rooftop bar we placed an order at the bar and the very rude bar lady asked for our IDs. We are 65!!!! I do realize this is a college town. My husband pulled his out. I had left mine in the car 3 blocks away. My husband told her he had a picture of my DL on his phone and showed her. Very rudely she told us no that would not work. Then we said well my husband will order a drink and i wont. The rude bar woman said "well she cannot drink any of it!!! Are you serious!!! She had now become the drinking police. What would she had done. Run outside and remove the beer from my husband's hand? Kick us out of the bar? Call the real drinking police? She was on a real short power trip. Went down the street to cool local brewery. Was not even asked for our IDs!!!! She also informed us it was illegal to accept a picture of a DL. “In Virginia, it is not illegal for a bar to accept a picture of a driver's license as proof of age”

Hotel
Hampton Inn & Suites Charlottesville-At The University is a comfortable hotel with convenient amenities such as fitness and business centers, complimentary breakfast, and shuttle services to the airport and surrounding areas. It offers a pleasant stay with well-appointed rooms, including suites with fireplaces. Despite ongoing lobby refurbishments during the visit, the staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel's location makes it an ideal choice for visitors to Charlottesville looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Good breakfast. Great bathroom products. Good bed. Good location overall. Felt a little sketchy walking at night (people approaching us begging for money outside the vape shop next door), but overall close to plenty of things. Housekeeping didn’t come but we only stayed two nights, so it wasn’t necessary.
Jessica B — Google review
Nice hotel, free breakfast. Anyone familiar with my posts knows I drive bus, and this hotel is not bus friendly. They roped off a place to park, but getting in and out is brutal. Portico is not high enough for the bus, so I need to make a 3 point turn to get in and out onto a busy street on the University of Virginia campus. The rooms were nice with microwave and fridge, and I would enjoy staying here if I was in a car.
Bill M — Google review
The hotel says they clean the room every other day, apparently this is incorrect. More bothersome is that they attempted to charge us for “valet” parking upon check out. Also, stayed there there without a parking charge or mention of anything of that sort. Mind you there is no valet service or even a valet attendant. The manager claimed the person who checked us in should have mentioned it (never happened) and that it was on the parking permit. Once we got to the car we read the permit, not a single word regarding the fee. Just a blatant lie by the manager after attempting to deceive us. Stay at the Omni, Residence Inn, or Sonesta. The mattresses there are like rocks anyway.

Perfect for anything Charlottesville. We stayed here when we have early appointments at UVA. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean, and the breakfast is pretty dang good! Give them a try for yourself!
Ben W — Google review
I came to Charlottesville last night because my daughter who is in college was taken to the hospital at UVA (which was the best experience I’ve ever had at a hospital). She was released later last night but couldn’t handle the ride back to Harrisonburg, so in a rush I booked a room online, for the Hampton Inn Hilton. As soon as I got the confirmation email, I realized that I booked the wrong date, and it was non refundable. We were only a couple minutes away, so we showed up and told the 2 nice young men that were working (didn’t catch their names) what happened. They were unable to do anything about the room that I booked, but got us set up in a room for the night. I went to the front desk this morning and Ms Paula was working, and jumped through hoops to get the reservation canceled! Thank you Paula and staff for a great experience!!! Also very nice, and clean hotel and room! And when I left something in the room, she called me before I got out of the parking lot. Paula Johnson, you are a Saint!! I will definitely stay here when in the Charlottesville area!
Andy F — Google review
Probably the worst customer service ever experienced. Main lobby door would not open when we arrived at 3pm. We had hands full with birthday presents, a small dog and luggage. My daughter waved her foot in front of the door to see if it was a sensor issue. We realized it was locked by key card and opened the door. When we got inside the lady at the front desk screamed at us, said if we damage the door we will pay for the door damage, and she would "roll the cameras back". Wow. WTF. Never staying here again.
M M — Google review
Classic Hampton Inn. I like having a microwave in room. Convenient to University and restaurant/bar options. I’ve stayed in dozens of Hampton Inns, but no longer. They’ve lagged too far behind in entertainment. TV had limited channels (no Golf Channel??) a handful of installed app choices and no means by which to Chrome Cast to screen from my device. Room was adequate but Hampton Inn has lost its edge over other brands at same price point for quality, decor and amenities.
David R — Google review
Exceptionally mid. This is the medium place. Everything is very medium. Nothing is bad. Nothing is amazing. Staff are friendly and apologetic when things fall short of their standards. They were surprisingly stingy with towels and toilet paper and stuff. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast the most mid Ive ever eaten. The only reason to stay here is the location. It is so close to UVA and the hospital.

Residence Inn Charlottesville Downtown is a modern lodging option offering contemporary amenities such as a gym, pool, and free breakfast. Its prime location provides easy access to historic attractions like Monticello and the University of Virginia. The hotel features studios and suites with kitchens, barbecue facilities, city views, shared lounge, and terrace. It's conveniently situated in the heart of downtown, allowing guests to walk to the Downtown Mall or take a short stroll to the University.
We really enjoyed our room here at the Residence Inn Charlottesville. We had a large fridge, a big couch and lots of elbow room. It was clean. They offered free hot breakfast from 7am to 9am, Saturdays & Sundays until 9:30am and they do shut down promptly. They have an indoor pool, however we did not have time to use it.
Debbie C — Google review
Stayed on the 7th floor with a view of Monticello! Great room with a lot of space to stretch out. Very clean throughout the hotel. While the complimentary breakfast was the usual Marriott fare, the staff goes above and beyond to maintain a steady flow of hot food and coffee as well as keeping vacated tables clean for the next guests. My only thing is I wished the breakfast was open until 10AM as we were there for 4 days and preferred to sleep in. The hotel has a fantastic location across the street from the Downtown Mall and an easy 0.7 mile walk to UVA.
Bill L — Google review
Awesome location, plenty of parking with easy in/out, and great customer service with the few interactions we had with the front desk! Convenient breakfast every morning, with options in unit for simple cooking if needed. Great for extended stay. Loved being within walking distance of the downtown mall, and central enough that it was easy driving anywhere else around town. Would love staying here again on our next visit!
Michele M — Google review
His may be my fav Residence Inn thru many Marriott travel stays. Beyond convenient with easy in/out parking, standard breakfast with great staff, clean rooms. We were on the fourth floor … only wish was for some better noise-proofing windows. Very busy corner with lots of loud traffic and emergency vehicles.
Sydney N — Google review
Great modern spacious hotel with all the necessary amenities for a quick college trip. Gym ,pool , patios , breakfast included , work space and parking . Our suite was spacious comfortable and good value. Will come back.
David D — Google review
As a titanium elite member with marriott, I got that status because I travel for work. Sometimes my travel plans change, due to work. I called the front desk and asked if I could check out late today. My schedule check out is tomorrow, so its not like im missing more than a nigjt. They said I would be charged for the night if I did. This doesn't sit well with people who travel for a living. I get it if you are on vacation but those of us who travel, sometimes our work plans change. Most of the time marriott is good about helping us out, but not this hotel. Just so everyone knows, my colleague who is staying at a staybridge (IHG) called at the same time as I did and they quickly and easily checked him out. But this hotel, nope they won't. I did call bonvoy, but of course there is nothing they can do about it either, so that was a waste of time. I guess I'm going to go back to Hilton after this. Marriott is the only brand that doesn't help business people out, they're not for us. After 80 night in the past 5-6 months, they can't help me out one time. Sometimes, we can't help when our work plans change due to unforseen circumstances.
Jeff P — Google review
I travel alot for work and can't believe this gem isn't a 4 star or higher rating. Clean throughout, comfortable, good spread for breakfast in modern stylish well appointed hotel. Room was clean and comfy. The location is great, centrally located and walking distance from thr outdoor mall. Housekeeping and breakfast staff are friendly and hard working. The maintence guy was busy the entire time I was there. You can tell folks like working with each other. I can't say enough about Courtney at the front desk. I called ahead with a question and her excellent customer service was noticeable immediately. On arrival she got me into a room right away even though I was a bit early. She told me about local attractions and reccomended places to eat. She has the sweetest disposition and a warm, beautiful smile. She made me feel welcome throughout my stay. She's a Superstar! Give that girl a raise! I will defintely be staying here next time I'm in CVille.

Not a fan of this hotel if you’re looking in this area stay at the Omni. The resident Inn has no restaurant and no bar. The gym area was nasty with no towels and the water jug was empty

Extended stay hotel
Home2 Suites by Hilton Charlottesville Downtown is a pet-friendly hotel situated in downtown Charlottesville. The spacious rooms feature kitchens, sofabeds, and modern amenities. Guests can enjoy the pool, fitness room, free breakfast, and Wi-Fi. Nearby attractions include Jefferson Vineyards, Monticello Wine Trail, and Carriage Hill Farm. The hotel's cozy atmosphere and spotless rooms make for a pleasant stay. However, some guests have noted issues with bathroom exhaust fans and parking fees.
I’m quite frankly shocked at the negative reviews for this hotel. My husband and I were here with our 16 year old granddaughter for a concert. The rooms are HUGE with a full size fridge, REAL dishes and even a dishwasher. Breakfast was good and offered plenty of options. Location super convenient to the downtown mall. We will definitely be staying here for future events.
Melissa H — Google review
Overall, the stay wasn’t terrible, but for the price, I didn’t feel it was worth the value. I found someone else’s socks in the drawer and hair in the shower, which made me question the cleanliness. The room was warm no matter how I adjusted the thermostat, which made sleeping uncomfortable. Breakfast was especially disappointing—there was no food available when I went down at 8AM. Instead of a real plate, I was given a stryofoam to-go container. I ended up with a pastry to eat but wanted the hot-food bar they offered. While the experience wasn’t all bad, these issues added up and made it hard to justify the cost. I expected more for the rate I paid.
Jessica T — Google review
This is my second time staying at this hotel, and overall I really enjoy it here. The staff is fantastic always polite, professional, and attentive to whatever you may need. Their service really stands out and makes you feel welcome. The location is also hard to beat. Downtown Charlottesville is just a short walk away, which makes it easy to enjoy the restaurants, live music, and overall atmosphere that the area is known for. That said, there were a few things that could be improved. The dishes in the washer weren’t clean, the ironing board definitely needs replacing, and I did come across a spider in the bathroom. None of these issues ruined my stay, but they were noticeable and worth mentioning. Even with those imperfections, I still plan on booking here whenever I’m in Charlottesville. The combination of great staff, unbeatable location, and overall comfort makes this hotel a solid choice.
Marcus — Google review
We stayed here for one night on weekend in the winter while in town for a concert at the Jefferson Theater. We booked ahead through the app. The room was clean and comfortable. We were in a king suite so it was spacious and there was a kitchenette but since this was just an overnight trip we didn’t use it. I will say the pillows were not stiff and bulky like most hotels which was different but I had no issues sleeping on it. We parked on a flat lot in front of the building. The location is great because it is just a short walk to the mall. The staff were all courteous and professional. There is complimentary hot breakfast - waffles, oatmeal and prepared egg patties, meat and cheese for sandwiches. I think I saw breakfast potatoes too but not 100% sure. Instead of being in hot chafers they were in a covered plastic display. Not my favorite but it was ok. They did have toppings for the oatmeal which was nice: Sorry, I wasn’t thinking about it so no pic of the breakfast area. Good place to stay when in the area.

We went for UVA graduation and this hotel was wonderful. They decorated for the celebration and had cards and treats in all the rooms. Everyone was so nice..
Sarah R — Google review
I couldn’t be happier with my stay. What made it truly exceptional was the front desk clerk—I believe her name was Lori or Laura. She was a young, professional host who genuinely welcomed guests and remained attentive to their needs throughout the stay. Her accommodating nature made each day a little brighter, and it’s employees like her who elevate the entire guest experience and shift a hotel’s atmosphere toward success. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the free laundry was a great bonus. While I didn’t have much of the breakfast, the fresh fruit and coffee were perfect for someone on a busy schedule. Other hotels may offer similar amenities, but what sets this place apart is the way you’re welcomed in. That kind of hospitality makes all the difference.
Wendy Y — Google review
Oh, dear. Where to start? To give you a sense of how this went, I canceled the second night and nearly left in the middle of the night of my first day here. Incredibly screwed up parking arrangement, had to chase down somebody for check-in at the front desk at 9:30 PM., a room is smelled like cleaning fluid, the mattress that should’ve been replaced a couple years ago terrible sheets, and just dreadful pillows. There are so many better options in this area.
Ted D — Google review
We have stayed at this hotel twice before and had a good experience, but things have clearly gone downhill. The pillows were some of the worst I've ever encountered (lumpy beyond belief), the sheets had holes in them, the floors were sticky. The room was pretty clean, but very tired. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was the usual fare, and well stocked. But, we definitely won't stay here again, as there are many other options nearby.

valley guys were the friendliest and on point/ very quick Front desk concierge quite friendly! Rooms nice!! Our pup also enjoyed the stay, though usually hotels would have. Dog bowl etc welcome the pet but it’s ok we had our own!

The standout at this hotel is the service, both at the front desk and in the parking service. Nikki at the front desk was excellent. We had booked the premier king for 3 nights -- and while the room, view, and amenities were great, the street noise (even on the 8th floor) was too loud for us to get a good night's sleep. After our first night, Nikki worked with us to move us to another room at the back of the hotel. And although we lost some of the square footage and amenities (because all the premier rooms are in the same front-street-facing location), we were much happier with the peace and quiet we gained. Nikki was so nice and knowledgeable and also provided great recommendations for places to eat/visit while in town. The parking folks were also wonderful -- so nice and personable and quick to respond. We really appreciated the great service from everyone here.

What a beautiful area this hotel is located in! There is plenty of restaurants and shopping that are all walking distance if you have a great restaurant attached to the property. The rooms are spacious with great finishing touches like the sliding barnyard door. Very pleased with the hotel accommodations and will make sure to return!

The room was neat and tidy. The location was perfectly sat in the middle of State University Virginia. The Staff was excellent! The Valet parking and checking in/ out process was really good. They offered bottled water for my journey; which was a nice touch because not a lot of the Marriott hotels offer full bottle of water on your way out. Definitely a must stay when your in Charlottesville.

So I have some thoughts. This hotel is nice and the room was very nice, however take caution during lantern fly season. While writing this in 2025 lantern flys are here and there throughout Charlottesville, something about the trees around this hotel and the glass or something like that causes an infestation of lantern flies. I completely understand that this is a pain for them, but to have them crawling around the lobby and the restaurant is completely unacceptable in my opinion. There should be someone hired to try to keep them out of the inside as much as possible. Who wants to be eating and watch giant bugs to crawl around and jump? I had to leave the restaurant. If not for the lantern flies I did enjoy my stay here and the restaurant staff was very friendly.

Hotels is well run with friendly staff. Nice on-site restaurant and bar. Great location. Easy walk to UVA, town, bars and restaurants. Rooms are nice size and well appointed. Upscale vibe.

I needed to book a room for someone who was visiting us in town on short notice. I was able to find a room on the Marriott Bonvoy website at The Draftsman. I called ahead to see if a room was available that morning, and the front supervisor was super professional and nice in answering my questions regarding my reservation. We arrived that morning and check-in was seamless. With the heat wave, the hotel staff offered ice cold water bottles in the lobby and they reminded guests to stay safe and hydrated. I was very impressed with the level of customer service and the quality of the room. The room was spacious and comfortable. I didn't have a chance to explore everything in the hotel, but it definitely checked off a lot of our wishlist boxes at first glance. I didn't see self-parking; I didn't inquire. But if you go to 14th street nearby, you can park all day for about $10-12 in the lot. It's only a 7-minute walk to the hotel and pretty convenient. If you continue past the hotel for 5-10 minutes, you can grab a delicious pizza at Mellow Mushroom or a bagel at Bodo's Bagels.
Patricia C — Google review
The valet team, the front desk, and the front house of the hotel were great. Very friendly and helpful. My only issue is that the food wasn't great for the price. The food was overpriced and mediocre. For a restaurant to be attached to a Marriott Autograph hotel, I expect a lot more. I would be a bit more forgiving if the food quality matched the price point, but it doesn't.

Wonderful concept but failed execution. We loved the ease of the touchless registration and check-out. It is a very quiet and convenient hotel. The staff is courteous and welcoming. Unfortunately, the room was very disappointing. The window shade was not operational and the security lights from the building across the street shone directly onto the bed. We had to hang towels in the window. The shower water, was barely heated which made morning preparations bracing to say the least.
Susan B — Google review
I was apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but this is where I got put for a work event, but we had a great stay: large, comfortable room with comfortable bed, I love the aroma in the lobby haha (they only pump that out by day--coming in late and leaving early for work I noticed the scent wasn't there). Generally I was able to get help when needed pretty quickly (even when having a parking question Sat night around 10 pm, there was someone in lobby I found after a few minutes). I would definitely stay here again. The hotel was quiet and peaceful and I was there for that.
Jenny G — Google review
The hotel’s low-contact system is ineffective, leading to redundancy and poor customer service outcomes. Our room was out of soap when we arrived, called the number on the website to let them know. They asked for a picture of the empty soap container. They sent a handy man, who tried to enter twice without knocking. He brought tools, but no soap. I had to repeat call the following day to have the issue resolved. Communications between staff and answering service couldn’t have been worse. At one point, I contacted the customer service representative about staying in the same room for our whole stay, after a short while we were told that had been approved by management. After which, three staff members tried to enter the room (again without knocking), saying that the room appeared to be empty in their system. Our room also had visible dust, and the lobby bar never opened. It’s clear that the attempts to automate are not for the experience of the guests, but rather as a cost-saving measure for the hotels ownership. I won’t recommend this hotel, and won’t come back.
Caroline F — Google review
This place has potential to be 5 stars. The lobby is beautiful and the rooftop bar is great. The room was mid. Blinds were dirty and crinkled and we had no blow dryer. Since you don’t have anyone in the lobby to talk to, we weren’t able to get a blow dryer.
Maureen B — Google review
So glad we found this gem! The hotel exceeded our expectations the moment we entered the building, the ambience and artistic / minimalist aesthetic really made us feel like we were transported somewhere luxurious. What stood out to us was the in person and virtual staff were truly kind and accommodating throughout our stay - which is hard to find. Lastly, apart from prime location, the hotel has a lot of spots to enjoy from the rooftop to the hotel's courtyard and cafe (it's in a quaint home perfect to read a book in in the morning!). Overall, we felt we got the value for our money and would definitely come back again!
Sasha F — Google review
The virtual check in was the absolute best! No lines, no waiting, just walk in, go to your room and use your specialized room code to get in to your room. LOVE that. The rooms are very large and have plenty of seating. Beds are vet comfortable as well. The bathroom could use a bit of updating and the rooms could use fresh paint but nothing is bad bad. NOTE *** there is NO lotion provided. Bring yours from home! The location is TOP NOTCH! Tons of restaurants, bakeries and shops around. The Doyle cafe is a nice breakfast spot and the French toast was fantastic! I will definitely stay again!
Kimberly T — Google review
This hotel has very few people working there (I’m not a huge fan of the digital check in, door lock, elevator code stuff) but the few that do, are very helpful and accommodating. I love the location, the rooms are cute and clean and the lobby is a cool place to work or hang out. Oh and the food was also delish.

With 35 hotel rooms, cottages, and houses available, guests can enjoy a comfortable stay in prime position for their travels.
Great experience overall. The employees at the front desk were fantastic. They were very helpful and understanding - thank you. The cleaning staff did forget to clean my room 1 night, but that wasn’t too big of a deal. The location was perfect, and I appreciated the early/mid-twentieth century decor, lounging spaces, & water refill stations. I would 100% stay again!
Nicole — Google review
We were looking for a quick one night getaway, and Oakhurst looked super cute online! Check in was quick and the staff was helpful. We had to pay for valet, but I then read there's free parking in the circle? If we had known that was an option we would have parked ourselves. We were given a room upgrade which gave us additional space that we greatly appreciated! The room itself lacked luster and was overall just okay. We were given stained towels and our bedsheets had multiple rips/holes. We were told check out was at 11am and after getting in late we slept in, I was in the shower a little after 9am and room service comes in to start cleaning the room! After realizing we were still there they did leave, but this left me feeling very uncomfortable. We quickly packed up our things and checked out. We felt the hotel was extremely over priced given our experience.

This is a quiet oasis in a now-bustling, formerly sleepy town. As close to the University as one could get. Friendly staff, capable bartender, live jazz, excellent cafe. Sure, it's quirky, and that is part of the charm. Kudos to staff and management who quickly and fairly resolved an issue with the room.
Gary G — Google review
Beautiful hotel with unique charm! Every staff member we interacted with was beyond pleasant. The heated pool, sauna, and live jazz made for the most relaxing evening. Our room was spacious and had many windows. Our room smelled musty, but this is kind of expected with an old building.
Anna — Google review
Overall, the experience was okay. The bar was not open but it was advertised that it would be until 9. The room was smaller than expected. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so it was damp. The A/C unit was leaking water and turned off in the early hours of the morning. There were dead bugs in the light. The blinds didn't work. The staff forgot 2 times that there was a late check out. The staff was overall pleasant and helpful.
Christian A — Google review
Spent $600 to be put in a basement room. The bedroom windows looked out onto a wall/alley, no natural light or view at all. No glassware or mini fridge in the room. Maybe other rooms are nicer but the one I got was definitely not worth the exorbitant price and I don’t think rooms should vary that significantly.
Kiera M — Google review
The rooms had a beautiful boutique aesthetic, everything was very clean and organized. The staff was *amazing* (shout-out to Lauren and Eric for the lovely conversation) and that's not even mentioning the location. Lots of hiking nearby, tons of nature, like an oasis from the day to day. Will definitely return!

I called the Oakhurst Inn the day before my wife was arriving and asked if I could set up a little surprise in her room. Lauren and Devin were super helpful and made it really easy to pull off over the phone. Just really kind, thoughtful service. We’ve stayed here before for our anniversary and have always had a great experience. The rooms are great, the location is perfect—right by UVA and everything’s walkable. Honestly just one of our favorite spots in Charlottesville. Big thanks again to Lauren and Devin for going the extra mile.

Kimpton The Forum Hotel is a perfect choice for a weekend getaway or special celebration. The hotel staff, especially Brittany, goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. From complimentary Prosecco to thoughtful gestures for special occasions, the service is top-notch. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean with friendly and respectful employees who treat guests exceptionally well. While valet parking comes at an additional cost, the overall experience of staying at this higher-end hotel is worth it.
We stayed here to celebrate our honeymoon and my birthday and we didn’t want to leave. We were also greeted with some surprises since we were celebrating! The room was beautiful, the patio was so relaxing and a perfect spot to hang out on, and everyone who worked there was so friendly. Everyone went out of their way to be kind, helpful, and gave our dog all the treats he could eat! The room was immaculately cleaned, Birch and Bloom was delicious (we were lucky enough to be there during restaurant week!) and the outside was beautiful to go on walks as we were directly across from a nice walking trail. The hotel is conveniently located to anything you could want or need! We would go out of our way to come back here to experience all of this again.

We had a lovely stay at the Kimpton The Forum Horel. Upon check in, we were told there were multiple weddings and events happening but that never affected our stay. Please note, this is a DOG FRIENDLY hotel. One guest in our group has severe allergies and missed this, but still was fine so that speaks to the cleanliness of the hotel. We ate at both restaurants and had great meals! Beds were very comfortable! The botanical gardens are lovely and we had gorgeous weather for walking and then relaxing on the patio!
Leesa C — Google review
Absolutely enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean, the service was friendly and generous, the restaurant on site was delicious. The salmon on the menu was the best I have ever had and the white truffle pasta on special was amazing and well presented. We also enjoyed the beautiful grounds and the access to the walking trail right outside the hotel.

Wonderful hotel! Absolutely beautiful grounds to explore and amenities galore. They even had a scavenger hunt for kids to do in the gardens. After a small miscommunication about a king vs. 2 queen room near the other members of my party, they set up the most comfortable cot I've ever seen for my son. It was the perfect solution. We loved the coffee offerings and complimentary wine hour. Most importantly, perhaps, this is the CLEANEST hotel shower I've ever seen. Not one bit of mold or mildew in the grout - this is something I've never experienced. Would definitely stay here again.
Heidi E — Google review
We used the Kimpton The Forum Hotel for our wedding weekend and it was a DREAM. By far the nicest accommodations available in the Charlottesville area, and pricing-wise, it beats competitors by a mile for a much nicer experience. From the minute we arrived for our wedding weekend, staff here made us feel seen and helped us with our every request. We were able to book a suite for bride and groom and getting ready, and Shannon helped us so much in securing our room block, extending it, and coordinating our stay. We also opted to have our wedding welcome party here, which was truly perfect. A huge thank you to Jake for the wonderful support provided in planning. The bar staff was so kind and soldiered through a very hot evening outside on the Camilia Promenade (which was a BEAUTIFUL venue) and choosing to host the welcome party at the hotel was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process. The food and drink were perfect. This was also a great spot for our guests, who could find something to eat at one of the restaurants when needed. We found ourselves gathered around the bar at night which was just such a lovely way to spend time together, and the accommodations themselves were so upscale and lovely. Valet staff was out of this world helpful, remembered our names, were friendly and kind...and our guests loved the happy hour in the evenings, too! I wish we could've stayed here even longer, it was truly so perfect and made us feel so special over our wedding weekend. Can't recommend enough!

The Forum Hotel is one of the most beautiful and well-run hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The design is breathtaking—elegant, calming, and thoughtfully curated down to the smallest detail. Everything feels fresh and luxurious without being overly flashy. The rooms are spotless, quiet, and incredibly comfortable. I felt immediately at ease the moment I walked in. Cleanliness was clearly a top priority across the entire property. Service is consistently warm, polished, and professional. From the design, ambiance to the exceptional service, The Forum sets a high standard.

The room was comfortable and the showers were fantastic. However, in the morning I went down to get coffee and found that my key card did not work in the elevator to get back upstairs. I went back to the front desk where they informed me that I was checked out (I definitely was not) and they reactivated my keys. I went back to the elevator (hands full of hot coffee cups) only to find it still didn’t work. A lovely couple felt sorry for me and helped me get to my room. I expected far better from your hotel. After a late night, this wasn’t the most pleasant experience.

REVIEW UPDATE: After reading the hotel management’s response to my review—where they expressed hope to “restore our confidence in them”—we reached out directly to the hotel manager to share more detailed feedback. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response. This lack of follow-through was disappointing and has further eroded our trust in the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The Forum has long been our go-to hotel whenever we visit Charlottesville, and until recently, every stay has been exceptional. The property is beautiful, with stunning botanical gardens, top-tier amenities, friendly and professional staff; and is conveniently located. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Because of our many positive experiences, we were genuinely excited to host a small gathering with family and friends at the Forum last month. While the event itself was lovely and our primary contact in the sales and catering department was a pleasure to work with, we unfortunately encountered an issue that affected our overall impression. Despite clearly communicating our desire to stay within a defined budget—and receiving repeated assurances that we would—the hotel charged our credit card a week before the event for an unexpected expense that was never properly explained. Disappointingly, our efforts to dispute the charge were unsuccessful, and the hotel declined to reverse it. We continue to appreciate many aspects of the Forum however, for those considering hosting an event here, we strongly recommend getting all cost details in writing and confirmed in advance, as our experience suggests that even clear communication may not be enough to prevent surprise charges.

Michie Tavern ca. 1784 is a historic tavern and restaurant offering Southern cuisine, located near Monticello. The tavern was originally situated on Buck Mountain but was relocated to its current spot in 1928. It provides visitors with an opportunity to experience colonial dining and immerse themselves in history. The buffet-style lunch allows guests to serve themselves traditional Southern dishes such as fried or baked chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy, collard greens, and coleslaw.
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience from arrival to departure. To sit and eat in a tavern that our founding fathers once did was awe inspiring. The service was fantastic as well as the food. I will definitely plan future visits here with my family. I also recommend visiting the gift shops as well and checking out the old cabins on the property. Great place for history buffs! Oh, and Morgan was awesome. The staff really take care of you.

This was our first visit to the hidden gem. The staff and location we're fantastic. The food was buffet style from 11-3pm. And it was very good. The desert choices have a little of everything. This location also has 2 different shops on sight to pick up some local items, wines , apple cider and a lot of other itrms to chose from. It was a great stop in We will return

Southern comfort food, in a historic tavern. The service was excellent, and they are very hospitable. You go through a buffet, which offers: coleslaw, green beans, black eyed peas, stewed tomatoes, barbecued pork, grilled and fried chicken, and soup. You can get soda and ice tea as well. After you go through the buffet, if you want anything else the waiter will get it for you. You can order desert later, too. Pay on your way out. All in all, worth a try! More expensive than lunch somewhere else, perhaps, but it's an experience you won't get elsewhere. Food was good, if not "exceptional," but ample quantities - you certainly won't go hungry!!

A fun unique southern experience. The buffet is a bit on the pricier side but you get plenty of food and it is yummy. I wish basic beverage and even dessert was part of the price. Staff were attentive and friendly.

The newly remodeled 1950s Craftsman house provides a pet-friendly home with three bedrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, and 1.5 baths for families of up to 8 people.
Such a nice stay! Got a pet-friendly king suite - it was super clean and spacious! Encountered some of the most kind and professional staff. Good breakfast, ample parking. 20 minute walk to the Downtown Mall. 15 minute drive to Carter Mountain Orchard. 100% recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again!

GREAT bedding: bed, comforter, and pillows! Nice new hotel, friendly staff, and good breakfast (e.g., bacon, eggs, waffle-maker, oatmeal, bananas, yogurt, a variety of milks). Amazing oatmeal bar (see picture). It was also the easiet TV remote I have used in hotel in a long time - THANK YOU. Pool could be warmer, but it wasn’t cold. Recommendations: get a second waffle maker and increase water pressure. The water pressure was fine for a shower, but would take a long time to fill up a bath. -1 Star. After posting a 5-star review, I went back down to breakfast, which according to the signs is from 7am-10am, at 9:50am to fill up a coffee cup and grab a small bite and there was NOTHING available! The woman started cleaning breakfast up way early. I feel bad for any family that did not already get food. Management: change the sign that states breakfast is until 10am or don’t break-down the food early.
Gary H — Google review
We stayed here when coming to tour UVA. The room was clean and comfortable, however, the bath tub did not drain. This is a pet peeve of mine bc it sucks to stand in dirty bath water when showering and housekeeping must know the tub doesn’t drain well when they’re cleaning it, so they should let engineering know immediately. I actually forgot to tell the front desk when checking out, so now the next guest will get stuck with the same problem, oops! The other annoying thing was that the free breakfast is supposed to go until 9:30 am, so they should leave it out until 9:30 am and then start putting it away. They started taking the oatmeal toppings at 9:10 am and took away the oatmeal at 9:15 am. I was down there eating and my son was going to join me, but since he came down at 9:20, he couldn’t have oatmeal. Finally, just FYI, you can’t take the stairs or elevator from the parking garage unless you have a guest key card. They put a lot of signage around stating to go check in first before parking, but where we entered the garage, we missed the signage.

Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites – Charlottesville Downtown/University Area 8/10 on the Osiris Hotness Scale 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 My stay at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites in Charlottesville was a very positive experience ✨. The hotel is modern, clean, and welcoming, with comfortable rooms that made for a relaxing stay. One of the best features is the location—only about 5 minutes from downtown and Old Town, where you’ll find plenty of trendy restaurants, shops, and places to explore. It’s close enough to all the action, yet still quiet enough to feel restful. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the check-in process was smooth. The overall atmosphere felt fresh and inviting, which made my visit even more enjoyable. While it’s not a luxury resort, it’s definitely a solid choice for anyone visiting Charlottesville who wants comfort, convenience, and a great location at a reasonable price. Overall, I’d rate this property an 8/10 on the Osiris Hotness Scale 🔥—a stylish, reliable, and comfortable stay just minutes away from all the best parts of Charlottesville!

I booked A reservation using the government rate as I always do being a state government employee. I always check the rate detail details to ensure that the state government rate is available. Once the hotels in Charlottesville started filling up because of an event, I get an email from the general manager, saying that the only rate available is to a Virginia state government employee, and that I can only pay using a government issued credit card. Neither of these stipulations were listed when I reserved my room. They’re simply changing their policy to make more money because now my two nights stay rate is less than what they’re currently charging for one night.

Bad neighborhood, misleading name ‘downtown/university area’. NOTHING in that area and apparently not safe either if the doors to the street are always locked. Bad signage, people from inside the door needed to signal that I need to walk all around the back to enter. Hair on the vanity and toilet seat. Worst part of all, paper thin walls and ceilings. I don’t remember last time I was in a hotel with wooden doors/ceilings. I could hear every step from above, it sounded like the cast of Stomp staying above my room. Horrible experience all around, never had a bad experience like this at any other Marriott brand.
KKS — Google review
Housekeeping cleaned out my room after the first night. They tossed my stuff in a bag and threw out the birthday cake I got from my aunt. The front desk person who helped me find where they’d taken my things reassured me that my reservation clearly showed I was staying for two more days… which means no one that morning stopped to think “huh. Someone left their car keys, credit card, clothes, and toothbrush. Should we double check this?” Otherwise a decent hotel with a barking dog and a boring breakfast.

I tend to choose this market over others because in my opinion it changes the most. I like to see different stuff every time I go!! Everyone is so nice and the vendors are amazing. It's so easy to just park and enjoy the market and walk the downtown.

I've been going here every weekend for as long as I can remember! I can't praise it enough, it's something you need to experience for yourself. Definitely stop by and walk on the downtown mall after, the perfect Saturday afternoon!

I love this farmers market. There are so many vendors! There was a jewelry vendor (I bought beautiful earrings from her) and a vendor who carved pens. For food, there was a plethora of produce! Tomatoes, peppers, cuckes, breads and sweets. A woman who had olive oil, and coffee. And, of course, flowers and plants. All vendors had decent prices and were friendly. Parking was not easy to find, especially with a handicap. The other downfall is there isn’t any shade to cool off. I look forward to Saturday mornings to see what goodies are waiting for me!

This was really cool. So many interesting things made by these folks. There's also food, fruits, vegetables and my favorite local raw honey at a reasonable price.

This place is always so amazing! Should've taken more pics, but did fall in love with this one spot, selling cacti and succulents! Had to get one, and always have to go see my Orchid people! And sooooo many yummy options for food and fresh produce and art. Def coming every Saturday before work..

Located in the bustling U.S. 29 north area of Charlottesville, Hilton Garden Inn Charlottesville is a modern 3-star hotel offering a range of amenities. The hotel boasts an indoor pool, fitness center, and garden patio for guests to enjoy. With its convenient location just 15 minutes' drive from Scott Stadium, the property offers high-speed internet access throughout and features 124 well-equipped rooms with comfortable beds and flat-screen TVs.
This was definitely in the top 3 best hotel experiences we’ve had on our travels over the years. The room and view of the pond were great, the patio and fire pit were relaxing, and the staff were all very efficient and friendly! Breakfast this morning was wonderful and the ladies we interacted with were super nice! We will definitely look to book here again when traveling to Charlottesville!

Hotel was nice and front desk staff was accommodating and friendly. Never saw a chef who asked for tips. There a was tip container stationed by the food pickup area. Waitress seemed more of a bartender then server and overwhelmed by four tables of customers. The pool area was nice, but for the two days of our stay there was a piece of gum in the corner of the pool shower and old bandaid on the pool deck by the hot tub. Enjoyed the walking trail around the lake and proximity to all the sites.

So, at first this was going go to be a 1star. We stayed here 4 nights. The rooms are in need of modernizing. The pool needs this as well. We noticed some problems with the room, when talking with the manager he was incredibly helpful and ensured we got a new room. On our final night we were awoken by the fire alarm and waited outside until the all clear. Obviously, this was for our safety and even if its a faulty system, I would rather be safe then not, but still annoying and the loss of sleep is not fun.

Comfortable, clean lodging with good amenities located on the outskirts of Charlottesville ( but easy access into the downtown area). A little dated but still very nice. Great convenience is the small hotel run restaurant in the lobby that makes made to order menu food items. Well done and reasonably priced in a little velt setting.

Very convenient location to the downtown area, less than 10 min. Very clean rooms with a Cafe and small bar in the lobby area. Access to a beautiful walking trail, and a small clean gym. Very good value.

1st off booking was horrible. The website said no pets, so we didnt bring the dogs. Come find out they are pet friendly. - checking in was easy and the front staff were friendly the whole time. - our room was clean, no musk/mold smell, and no bugs nor smoke. But I will say that our room was out of conditoner the whole time. Room was cleaned once but didnt look like they did any cleaning at all. The hallway going to our room needs deep cleaned, tons of white stains all over. 🚩 do not recommend getting breakfast in the lobby. I brought down my own can fruit to eat with my iron pills and got yelled at for asking for a fork. By a larger woman with short dark brown hair (pixie cut). We tried the breakfast the next morning. Food was cold, wasn't what we ordered at. I dont know how anyone can mess up a waffle and bacon but surely they can. Also overheard other guests complain its over priced and barely edible. Had same issue 2 yrs ago. 🚩no cell service in the rooms only out in the lobby. Internet is horrible.
Jenna M — Google review
Room was clean, staff welcoming. Only negative was that it was difficult to sleep because cars were revving their engines and racing below which was loud and it didn’t stop until about 3:00 am. Wonder why this isn’t controlled by the police?!

Could not figure out how to get room with breakfast package. Breakfast dishes come only with meat. You ask to leave it off-- still the same price.

The hotel features indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, fitness center, and business center for relaxation and convenience. With its central location and upscale atmosphere including a seven-story atrium and garden, the hotel provides a comfortable retreat for visitors.
This hotel is a solid 5/5. It’s beautiful, elegant, and tastefully decorated. Everything is clean and well maintained. We tried both restaurants on-site and everything was easy and smooth. The front desk staff were kind and helpful, especially Mr. Mark, who opened the door for us every time with a warm smile. The atmosphere is inviting and luxurious. I will definitely come back with my friends and family!

We had such a great experience staying at the Omni Charlottesville! The hotel has been updated and has the most incredible open-air lobby/atrium space. What made this stay especially memorable for me is the staff that cares. One team member from the front desk and room service team truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable after a long day working a wedding - special shoutout to Warren from Room Service, who went above and beyond to make sure we got a hot meal late in the evening when most options were going to be closed. His kindness and attention to detail meant so much to us and will truly never be forgotten! The hotel itself is clean, spacious, and very well maintained! The breakfast staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming each morning, which made starting the day feel relaxed and cheerful. We had a lot to load into our car multiple days in a row and the bell staff were right on it every time. The coffee bar has great lattes and they offer non-dairy options for those that need it. The lobby and dining area are open and inviting, and everything was spotless throughout our stay! If you're visiting Charlottesville and looking for a hotel with top-notch service, clean and comfortable accommodations, and a central location, the Omni is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

Had a great stay over a wedding weekend. Location was quieter and so was our room. We did not face the interior courtyard, which was a plus! Free overnight (covered) parking was a perk, too. Service was excellent — all needs were met from shoe shining to requesting a steamer (vs iron). Beds are not the comfiest, but it was still a great stay option that we made over other choices in the area.

Review: Omni Hotel Charlottesville I recently stayed at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville, looking forward to a comfortable and luxurious experience, but unfortunately I had to check out early due to issues and this hotel simply fell short of expectations. The room’s heater worked only intermittently—turning off after about an hour and leaving the room uncomfortably cold through the night. You had to manually restart it to "trick" it to turn back on. So got horrible rest. For a property of this caliber, that’s not something you expect to deal with. The shower was another letdown, with barely enough water pressure to rinse off properly. It’s surprising that such basic comforts could be so inconsistent at a hotel positioned as one of Charlottesville’s top stays. On a positive note, the location can’t be beat—steps from the Downtown Mall—and the staff were courteous and genuinely tried to assist. Still, the overall experience felt dated and in need of attention to detail. Would I stay again? Only if the property undergoes updates and maintenance improvements to match its reputation and price point.

I stayed at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville, VA in July. I had been invited for a job interview and had a very short window to fly to VA. My interview was on the day of my arrival and I needed to change and head out right after check in. The front desk lady Porsche was so kind and attentive. She made sure to get my room ready. The manager Emitiaz was so accommodating, understanding and personable. The valet guy Bintu was also so helpful and had great customer service! The bar in the welcome area had such a great attendant also Lellie. Everyone was just so warm, kind and professional. I was understandably so stressed that day but the staff helped ease my worries! On top of that my room was exquisite and so clean!! Absolutely no complaints. I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Charlottesville!

We had a wonderful stay at the Omni Charlottesville! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the location couldn’t be better, and the front desk and valet teams (especially Bintu!) were all friendly and helpful. The overall experience felt welcoming and relaxing. The only note — the breakfast wait staff seemed stretched a bit thin, but even so we’d definitely stay here again!

Very beautiful place, especially the lobby atrium area. Very nice rooms for both size and cleanliness. Location was the best, right in the heart of the downtown walking area and close to other sights/things to do. A little on the high side cost-wise, but worth it in my opinion.

Update: moved to room 328. Much better ( walls still thin) . Updating review favorably due to management taking action and a decent breakfast etc. Really wish they would adjust the door dampers to not close so slowly then loudly slam the last 3-4" shut ( easy maintenance task and they all appear to be 1) adjustable and 2) set incorrectly) In room 130. I'm Hilton diamond I can hear footsteps above me and I can hear the conversation in the room next door like it's in my room. This has to be the worst homewood I've ever stayed in. Independent of how nice the facilities are, you're not going to sleep here very well without ear plugs and a noise generator. I have both and I'm still not sure I'm going to sleep well tonight. Did I mention my wall shakes Everytime a door slams shut

All you expect from Homewood Suites and more. Suites are priced as expected and are a good value for the outstanding service and plentiful amenities. Studio suites are available at a lower price point than the standard suites. Complementary breakfast was much better than the usual hotel fare.

Sad, sad, sad, so many locations not keeping up the original Hilton Brand high standards of Excellence!!! WHICH made the Hilton Corporation such a success over the years. For years we never stayed anywhere except at a Hilton property, But now find ourselves on every trip looking for a alternative other than Hilton. For two years I have talked repeatedly to the Hilton Corporation about this and have had no success. Fellow travelers be safe on the roads and do your research on the business you plan on patronizing before you hit the road. 7/27 Edit my review down from 2 stars to 1 star. This stay was riddled with maintenance and cleaning issues. Strong sewer smell when commode was flushed. Lukewarm water at best when taking a shower. It was clear all week the 2 elevators had issuses. On my last day I walked up on 2 men talking about the elevators. One was a Elevator repairman and the other appeared to be Hotel Staff. The elevator doors were open and tools everywhere. As I stood there listening to them discussing the units issuses I learned too much. The conversation soon turned to Joking and loud laughing with comments like using a foot to kick hard things so they would continue to work. I thought: I didn't just hear this about a elevator I was using did I??? The next day I had to use it to check out and prayed all the way to make it down safely one more time. I can deal with lot of issues but not one that is going to put my family at risk of getting hurt. Management you need to get involved in Hotel Operations and ensure Elevator Safety Procedures are being followed fully. My 2nd stay here and you can easy tell will be my last for there is better alternatives out there. HILTON you need to get back into your FACILITIES and put TEETH into your EXPECTATIONS of EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. NOTE, I did have one HIGHLIGHT during my stay. I got to meet a very amazing young lady named ARIAN. TRAVELERS, don't let disappointments keep you from traveling.... JUST drive around them to better things. Be safe on the roads.

Holiday Inn Charlottesville-Monticello is a convenient full-service hotel located near top attractions such as Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and Ash Lawn-Highland. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, fitness center, and American restaurant with outstanding food. Free amenities include Wi-Fi, parking, and stays for kids under 19. While some guests found the rooms small, others recommend getting a bigger room for families. The location is ideal for shopping and exploring the University of Virginia and Historic Downtown Mall.
I had to stay here intermittently for a few weeks and very much enjoyed my stay. The hotel is a little older, but it’s in a great location, the staff was responsive when I called for help regarding linen and an issue with the shades. What I really wanted to compliment on was one of the front desk attendants. I believe his name might have been Rome? Regardless, he was incredibly friendly and very professional. Gave great recommendations when I told him I was new to the area. Really made lasting impression on my stay there.

Don’t stay here is traveling with pets. Stayed here a little over a week ago while traveling with my dog. After checking in, the first room I walked into had a strong urine smell. Needless to say immediately went back down to the check-in desk. The attendant at the desk, switched me to the “last available” pet room (questionable since the hotel was not that busy looking that night). The second was better but still had a lighter noticeable urine smell to it, old stains on the carpet, and the windows were screwed shut so no hope to get fresh air in the room. Been traveling with a pet for a while, and have come across rooms with slight pet smells but never urine. So overall, I would say if traveling with a pet I would recommend staying elsewhere.
E — Google review
The positives are that they did have a Keurig and nice coffee selection in the room, and the young man at check in was very welcoming. Unfortunately, our room 302 did not have a bathroom door and the closet door was stuck. Also, the back door to the hotel didn't lock and the parking lot wasn't well lit for security purposes. These were definite concerns since they doubled the price for the university event.

We had a rough start to our 3 day stay at this Holiday Inn. We were given keys and went to our room….when we arrived our 9 year old was excited to open the foldout couch. When she did we found a smelly and nasty mess that hadn’t been cleaned in a long time (see pictures). We then received attitude when we wanted a new room that didn’t smell. We were moved into a different room and that had more normal issues….hair in the sink and shower that we could deal with. We then filled our fridge with cheeses and meats for the next few days of visiting wine country in Charlottesville, VA. When we woke up in the morning we went to open the fridge but it was warm inside. All of the cheese and cut up fruits had spoiled. We went to tell the front desk and got an attitude from the manager when she quipped….bring me the food that went bad and I will take $50 off of the bill. At this point my wife was ready to move our stuff to a new hotel. I talked her into staying and we went out to the pool. The pool had a brown lawn box in the corner of the pool area that the front desk said to get towels out of. See the pictures below…..the three white towels inside with an old shelf and garden hose were soiled. Gross. I also took pictures of the pool deck. The holes are where the ladders are supposed to be. The here is no stairs or ladders available. The bottom of the pool was gross. Our nine year old stays in the pool all day at other hotels but was ready to leave quickly saying there are bugs and dirt and sand all over the place. They also were having issues with their key cards. We had to get new keys five times over 3 days. Lastly, we were not only never given the $50 discount for the issues we had but also were over charged by $100. So really over charged by $150. Super big bummer as we now have to fight for money that we should have never been charged. So frustrating as we are teachers that do not get away very often.

AVOID THIS HOTEL! Upon arrival I was informed the hotel was overbooked and that the room type I reserved was unavailable. I was okay with getting a different type of room. That was until we arrived at the room to find it had not been cleaned, the sheets were everywhere and urine was in the toilet. Upon returning to the front desk we were given another room. Upon arriving on this floor we were met with a smoke filled hallway and screaming coming from the adjacent room. We weren't even able to enter the room as the keycards did not work. We returned to the front desk where I requested a full refund. The employee stated he would refund the stay but was unwilling to provide me with proof of the refund. I then requested to speak with the manager, she failed to answer the employee's call. We then went across town and had the best experience at the Holiday Inn Express.
Shane K — Google review
Absolutely unacceptable experience. First of all, this place is located right next to the highway — it's extremely noisy, even at night. Worse yet, at 9:30 AM, a staff member entered our room twice without knocking, no announcement, no warning — just walked right in. This is a serious invasion of privacy and completely unprofessional. When we complained to the front desk, there was no apology, no explanation — nothing. The woman simply said she was “working” and “checking on reservations.” That’s absurd. There’s no excuse for barging into someone’s room without permission. Avoid this place if you value your peace, privacy, or basic respect as a guest.
Kai L — Google review
Initially, this was looking to be an okay hotel that I planned to give 3 stars. Staff was not the most pleasant, but not the worst either, and the room seemed to be fine apart form one odd stain on the wall. That was until the last night, when we found a cockroach on the desk next to where we sat our food. When we woke up the next morning, we saw another one in the same area. This hotel clearly has issues with cleanliness and, unless you are okay with likely sleeping with roaches, I would suggest finding somewhere else to stay.

I would like to share my recent experience staying at your hotel in April, which unfortunately left me very disappointed. To begin with, the communication with your representatives via Booking.com was extremely poor. My messages regarding a concerning extracharge of my credit card were ignored for several days during my stay at the hotel. This charge was especially frustrating considering that the full payment for the stay had already been made and confirmed through the Booking.com platform, and acknowledged by your front desk staff. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue through Booking.com, I only received automated responses and vague, unprofessional replies regarding the charge. The following morning, I approached the receptionist directly, but was met with a rude and indifferent attitude, which I found completely unprofessional and inappropriate. As a result, a freeze of my money remained on my credit card for almost a week after checking out. This experience caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. The lack of clear communication, professionalism, and accountability from both your front desk and your handling of customer concerns is deeply concerning. I hope that steps will be taken to improve customer service and ensure transparent and respectful communication with guests in the future.

The hotel is surrounded by the worst hotels imaginable. It’s not safe. Further, when I requested to cancel the reservation, just to give them the common courtesy, the attendant on duty, who was absolutely not the manager, but said he was, Dylan, was extremely rude, unhelpful, unsympathetic, and doesn’t know any sort of customer service skills. Further he’s probably about 12 years old with how he articulates himself. Do not recommend this hotel. Do not waste your time. they are also privately owned, so if you have any issues, you have to either take it up with the hotel itself or chalk it up as a loss.

Convient location with parking exclusive to guests (was given a parking pass). Parking spots were a bit tight. The room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint was that the cable selection was extremely limited. Breakfast hours are convenient with great selection for both adults and kids. Enjoyed the area set up for breakfast, where they offer tea and coffee throughout the day. Indoor pool is well maintained. Appreciated the check-out window and could text when it was time to check out. Next time I am in the area, I would book with them again.

Disappointing Experience with Front Desk "Manager" I was very disappointed with the hospitality at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Charlottesville, Virginia. Upon check-in, I arrived with four friends and had booked two rooms for our group. One of my friends stepped up to the counter first and gave her last name, and I simply added that the reservation might be under my last name, since I was the one who booked both rooms. To my shock, the gentleman at the front desk turned to me and said I was being extremely rude. I was confused and asked why, and he replied that he was helping "the other lady," not me. I calmly explained that I had booked the rooms and thought they may be under my name, which is why I spoke up. He responded by saying he didn't care and that I was being rude to "the other lady" by cutting in front of her — despite the fact that we were literally standing side by side, checking in together. All four of us were stunned. My husband then asked to speak with the manager — and unbelievably, the man claimed he was the manager. If this is truly how management treats guests, it’s incredibly disappointing. None of us were rude in any way; we were just trying to check into the rooms I had already reserved. I’ve stayed at many Country Inn & Suites locations and have never had an experience like this. Hospitality and professionalism should be the bare minimum, especially from someone representing the hotel as a manager. Sadly, this encounter left a very negative impression on what should have been a pleasant stay.

Starbucks, the iconic coffeehouse chain originating from Seattle, has become a beloved staple for coffee enthusiasts across the nation. Known for its signature roasts and delightful light bites, Starbucks offers a cozy atmosphere where patrons can enjoy their favorite brews while staying connected with complimentary WiFi. Many fans rave about their go-to drinks like the iced pumpkin spice latte or classic ham and swiss baguette, which are consistently crafted to perfection.
I had a great experience at this location! I placed a mobile order and arrived a little early, but the staff was welcoming and friendly. The store itself was clean and inviting. My little one needed to use the restroom, and I was happy to find it spotless. Our drinks were made perfectly and tasted great. Overall, a pleasant visit from start to finish!

Went it to pick up a DoorDash order that I placed for counter pick up. I get there drink is ready and food is sitting in the back counter where I can’t get it. I grabbed the drink and tried to ask Carmen if the food was mine. She said yes but I had to wait for her to bag it. So she proceeded to make 6 drinks while my food was just sitting there getting cold for absolutely no reason.

Every time I come to this Starbucks I find that customers are an inconvenience to the employees here. I typically go to other Starbucks but stop here in a pinch. This is the 3rd time I’ve been where I’ve felt not wanting to purchase from Starbucks anymore. This time though really pushed me to write a review. The drive thru employee was dismissive to what I had ordered and it was clear I was inconveniencing her. When I got to the window to pay she wouldn’t even look at me. She handed me my coffee and said “here you go” in a rude manner. I said thank you and she still wouldn’t even bother looking at me. The whole encounter was uncomfortable. I won’t be back to this Starbucks location, even if it is more convenient. I’d rather drive the extra miles for better customer service.

I walked into the store at 6pm. I was greeted with the BIGGEST eye roll paired with hands thrown in the air by one of the girls working. She was mopping the store with all of the stairs stacked on tables, even though they do not close until 8pm. When I asked her if they were closing, she told me they were “preparing” to close. I would not recommend anyone go to this location.

Each day varies. I could have the best customer experience or the absolute worst. There’s a girl there who just gave me a passive aggressive attitude while trying to be nice to my dog. The first girl who helped me saw my dog and offered me a pup cup. I said yes, and she started to look for a cup for my dog. She asked the other girl where the cups were and the girl immediately looked at us and looked frustrated. She gave me the pup cup and in her passive aggressive tone, while sweet talking to my dog, asked if I can order it in the front speaker next time. I was OFFERED the pup cup, I did not ask for it.

Guests have praised the helpful staff who accommodated special requests and ensured cleanliness throughout the hotel.
For what it is, this hotel is five stars for me. The rooms seem recently renovated and well thought out. Quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is basic but fine. Check in and check out were easy and staff was nice. Location works if you're trying to go to UVA. For a basic place to sleep, this is a good find.

We stayed here because of the great ratings. I’m a bit disappointed, but despite being outdated, it does seem like they are making updates and seemed to be clean. Served its purpose. I didn’t feel unsafe. It’s very close to a lot of things. The desk personnel were very pleasant. The room smelled like stale smoke. (To be fair, I didn’t check for smoking/nonsmoking if that’s still a thing.) The walls are paper thin. We could hear the TV from the other room late. As well as someone getting their rocks off or being strangled (who knows). Around 2am there was a loud group of people and blaring music from a car. Around 5am random people were knocking on doors. Overall it served its purpose, if you’re not bothered by every little noise and aren’t looking for the extra amenities it’s reasonable. I’m not sure I’d recommend it for families. I’m hesitant to write them off completely because it’s difficult to control everything and everyone, especially with another hotel right across the parking lot, but it is worth noting. Overall the people were lovely and it looks like they’re working on the property though.

I enjoyed the staff who were friendly and helpful. The room location was perfect, and the surrounding area was quiet. There were a few things they could have done do make the hotel a little nicer...mainly cosmetic items inside and out. Overall, I was pleased and will stay here again.

I had an absolutely terrible experience here. The only good part about going is the young gentleman that checked me in early. He was very professional and kind, and despite the tvs not working he did attempt to try and fix the problem though it was never resolved. The rooms have bugs and there are massive gaps on all sides of the doors so anything can just crawl underneath into your room as well. Bugs were coming from behind fixtures and decorations on the walls. I notified the front desk and asked them to remove the first few pests i saw, and by that time the General Manager was there. Less than 30 mins later several more pests appeared and i again notify the front desk. I was met with hostility and disrespect. The words of the General manager himself was " We've never gotten a complaint of bugs or pests, you must have brought them" which is absolutely insane and very rude considering i paid $300 to get a room there, and because when you dig in their reviews PLENTY of other people have complained about the bugs especially in the past 6-8 months they've had bed bugs and other pest issues, and lack of cleanliness, as well as poor staff attitude. I initially asked the manager if they were unable to provide lodging without pests then it would be better for them to just refund me so i can find cleaner accommodations. The general manager argued with me about the bugs that his staff came and killed with their own two hands, but because they all have difficulty speaking English the staff have to keep calling the front desk to try to translate because they dont understand enough to in my opinion properly work with guests. After arguing with me and me asking him why he was speaking to me so disrespectfully he finally offered to try and give me a different room, to which i asked " Can you guaranteee that this room wont have pests coming from behind the fixtures and decorations, i dont want to move all my stuff around just to have to call you guys back" The manager responded " i cant guarantee anything, do you want the room or not, we can refund you" This was very frustrating as i had already said if clean accommodation was not available id like to be refunded so i can find a clean place to sleep. After about 3 HOURS of constant bugs and back&forth with the the General manager. They finally refunded me. I also even showed the General manager picture os the bugs i had already killed before i called them and he just shrugged me off. DO NOT come to this location unless you qanna spend $2-300 for a room filled with bugs that management will lie about and not acknowledge, a tv that doesnt work, and incompetent property management. And please know i will be filing reports to the BBB on your establishment for the issues i had yesterday, this experience truly ruined my weekend in Charlottesville. Very poor customer service, very poor facilities.

Rooms are nice and clean, the staff is friendly. Walking distance from fast food and convenience stores. (Food lion too) Centrally located, has its own stop light to help with getting into traffic. Continental breakfast isn't much of a breakfast, however the waffles are good. Other guests can get quite a bit noisy, but you can't control grown adults LOL Also lots of traffic noise, but what can you expect for being right on 29?
Andrew N — Google review
This place was good enough for the value. Some in the reviews have made this place out to be trash dump which I believe to be unfair. I will preface my review with, I have stayed in way worse places for more. Including the Quality Inn we stayed at the night previous in Lexington which was truly nasty for $140. I believe this place is a good value and is kept to an acceptable standard of cleanliness. The staff are friendly and overall it appears safe. There is one higher-end hotel and two lower-end motels directly adjacent to the property. I suspect that the two lower-end motels contribute to some of the complaints bit there is nothing the Days Inn staff can do about this. Besides calling the authorities for disturbances, they have zero responsibility to the other businesses. In the end, I believe you are getting a decent room at a good price in a great location. I would stay here again.
Michael T — Google review
It's an older hotel design, the rooms open up to the outside. They're pretty updated and clean. The bathroom is small but the shower has great pressure. It was a great location and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was standard hotel fare and overall it was a great stay. Absolutely met our needs and I would stay again. Lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance.
Tony R — Google review
Definitely not a place I will stay again. If you are tall don't plan on taking a shower the ceiling on the bathroom is lower than the rest of the room and you hit the ceiling tiles when standing in the shower. The door to the outside did not seal well (probably a full inch crack around the bottom) so light, sounds and smells poured in the room from the people standing outside. For the price it was soooooo disappointing.

Never been to a Holiday Inn before but when looking at the prices of other hotels in the area I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. Check in and check out were friendly and parking was easy. I got the suite which was clean and spacious. The shower pressure was stellar, as was the temperature of the water. Truly appreciated after a long and workout. (I forgot to tell the clerk that the shower handle in room 502 does needed to be fixed, the screw came out,it wasn't me! ) They have Dove products which was another win. That's right name brand, you go Holiday Inn! Room came with Keurig and full size fridge, freezer and microwave. Bed was super comfy as were the pillows. Didn't hear any cars or the torrential downpour during the night. Breakfast consisted of hot and cold options like potatoes, eggs, lots of bread and bagels and a basket of fruit. I appreciated the to go oatmeal that I was able to take with me instead of sitting. Decided to use the exercise room instead of going back out to planet fitness which was another win. Weights, adjustable weight bench, elliptical and a very padded mat was everything you need to get a workout in on the road. Just know you will sweat because it is hot as h- e- double hockey sticks in the room. Thank goodness for the fan. Thank you Holiday Inn!

Close to UVA which is amazing. Rooms are way better than expected for a 2 star hotel and its pet friendly so very nice if you’re traveling w/ pets (though be aware if it’s a cat I was told they have to stay in the carrier do with that info what you will). Breakfast is alright nothing crazy they could add some eggs but overall you get more than what you pay for.

Ms. Rollins was our server when we arrived and she was extremely helpful in getting us to our room as I am handicapped and walking is difficult for me. She helped my wife with our belongings and made sure we were comfortable. Her smile and kindness has made our stay even more relaxing. She deserves a raise!

The hotel is nice and clean. Close to restaurants and grocery store and right off the main roads. The one thing that stood out was the Indian girl at the front desk in her early 20's? She was always smiling and so happy and had great customer service. Was genuine and not fake. Maid did a great job cleaning too. I'll be back!

Stay away. Attempted to stay here for one night in June 2025. Cockroaches found in room in the middle of the night. Upon discovery of this, we had to make arrangements in the middle of the night to stay elsewhere. When I returned to the Red Roof in the morning to explain the situation, the manager was completely dismissive of our situation, even at one point implying that it was our fault for not reporting the situation when we found the bugs (it was literally 1 am and the lobby was locked and the lights were off). They refused to fully refund us for the room, instead offering a partial discount which they claim was sent but has yet to be seen on my end. They refused any other assistance, looked for more excuses to make it our fault than to make it right. Our room was also more than an hour late on being "ready". I also forgot my phone charger in the room. When I asked to go get it, a worker went with me. Upon entering the room again, another bug was spotted. The worker proceeded to gasp and tell me right to my face "I knew we had bugs!". That told me everything I needed to know.

Rooms were great location is awesome clean place also but the service was lacking.... I asked for an extra key for my room and was told I'd recieve one.... (never did) when I did ask a question it seem like it was a hassle....

The rooms were clean, but the window wouldn't open, so it smelled a little funny, so I put a new car air fragrance and it helped out a lot..lol also when I asked the front desk clerk a couple of questions, like if there was a diner around he said he wasn't sure. So I looked things up on google.. no big deal. It's a good place to stay for overnight or 2 oh, and their breakfast needs work.

The room had pungent smell to it and had no hot water. When we called to complain they moved us across the hallway which also had a smell and no hot water and there were hairs in the bathtub. When we were checking out of the hotel, the guy seemed like he could care less about our complaint. If you want to stay at a hotel, DO NOT let it be this one. It was horrible. The only OK thing about it was the 7/11 across the street where we could buy air freshener.

I ran to the airport early the second morning but when I returned at 9:50, I found people in my room and it wide open. I decided then to check out and not stay a following night, but they charged me for another full day anyway absolutely no apologies for being in the room without permission

Room was great, but faced a noisy road. Ask to be put on the side away from the road. Small breakfast room only had 2 seats and limited items. Cereal and coffee.
Tom M — Google review
Thought I was on a massive construction site! Door slamming right throughout the day and night and I mean every single minute! If a pin drops outside you hear it, as if there's no window affixed to the room. You hear every single sound so there's absolutely no chance of getting any rest. The air conditioner is the worse. It's so loud! That just add to the agony. The room was supposed to be cleaned on the second day........ no one turned up. I had a short stay so I decided to weather it out and it was in close proximity to where I was conducting business. The 3rd day I turned on the shower and green water came out. I swear I'm not making up any of this. So loud ac, doors banging, loud talking, outside noise, lack of house keeping, nasty water..... can't say I'll ever return to this dump.

Located along U.S. 29 north, Hampton Inn Charlottesville offers casual lodging with free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, an airport/area shuttle, and an outdoor pool. The rooms are elegant and contemporary, featuring romantic gas fireplaces and spacious bathrooms with two-person spa baths. Guests can enjoy a gourmet three-course breakfast and relax in the outdoor hot tub under its flower-covered pergola.
The room was clean, the hotel was quiet, and breakfast was good. I very much enjoyed my stay. I was here for business, so the room fit my needs exactly; the rooms are somewhat smaller than typical, so it would have been trickier with my family.

This is one of the cleanest and updated Hampton Inns I’ve stayed at in a long time. The entrance is spacious and clean, the rooms were updated and modern (including the bathroom), and the pool area was very enjoyable. The breakfast was great and well staffed.

Nice! We arrived for a UVA football game. The gent behind me at the check - in desk seemed to have some complaints- I offered the man my place in line, but he declined. I experienced no problems with the desk clerk or the hotel. Corey, the desk clerk gent welcomed me and was easy to converse with --- the Honors Party Bag was individually packed by me; I might add, my request for an extended departure time was granted. Also: Breakfast was delightful, Elaine was amiable , Fridge too cold, rooms comfy and the location perfect. If the Hampton Hotel is looking for a way to improve, I would suggest that "all" the hardworking maids should at least smile whenever there's some eye contact with the hotel guests - some do & some don't. We had a wonderful time!

This is a really nice hotel. Slightly smaller rooms but they have been redone. Nice TV and setup, nice furniture, and very comfortable beds. Manager and staff went above and beyond to assist us and make our stay welcome.

Only hotel I have ever stayed at where the elevator is in the entrance. Anyone could walk in the entrance and get in the elevator and access any of the 5 hotel floors. The stairway door was also in the entrance, across from the elevator, but required a room key to enter. Our room didn’t have good space to maneuver between beds and desk/tv and window. Have stayed in many hotels this year (and past) and this was the least space I have had to get around in the room. Had room with two queen beds.
Susie L — Google review
"Accessable King" room was tiny and didn't have a desk/desk chair or side chair (there wouldn't have been room for either). And the room wasn't equipped with a clock or luggage stand. The only upside is that the bathroom had double rows of grab bars everywhere and the tub faucet had a seperate temperature control and had both a shower head and hand shower. The room was otherwise clean and everything worked as it should. The lack of a chair/table made the stay very unconformable--not being able to eat in the room for instance. I would've demanded a new room or a refund if I'd been staying more than two nights. In addition, the hot water dispenser found in Hampton Inns had last been used for coffee and hadn't been cleaned the day I checked in and dispensed brown-tinted water. It still hadn't been cleaned properly the next day and the water contained some coffee grounds.
Kevin F — Google review
I always choose the Hampton inn when I travel, two days prior to coming to this location I stayed at the 835 Brevard location in Asheville North Carolina and my stay was phenomenal a 15 out of a 10 rating but this location was very disappointing the room had an odor and the wash cloths were very dingy and the tub had a terrible discoloration in the bottom. The staff Mr Corey was very pleasant and his kindness covered over my disappointment at this location.

We stayed at this hotel because we had a wedding nearby. I found the hotel very clean very well organized. The only problem I had was that they allow animals in all the rooms. And I’m allergic to dogs. They should have one designated floor, where they never allow pets. I believe they said if you tell them in advance that you’re allergic they’ll clean the room even better. They were willing to look up to see if a dog had been in my room any time recently. But the whole hotel made me sneeze. Breakfast was pretty typical for hotels. So if you’re gonna be in the area and you’re not allergic to dogs, this hotel was perfectly fine.

I had a truly excellent stay at the Hyatt Place Charlottesville. The hotel is modern, clean, and very welcoming. My room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, ensuring a great night's sleep. The location is fantastic, making it easy to get around Charlottesville. 4 minute walk to Trader Joes. My only minor suggestions would be to include make-up remover wipes and lotion in the room amenities. Also, please note that breakfast is an extra charge, not included with the stay. Despite these small points, I highly recommend this hotel. It's a comfortable and convenient option.
Kristina D — Google review
Be aware the breakfast is not free. It is $8 per person and not worth it in my opinion. However, enjoyed our stay here. Trader Joe’s is close by which was handy. Nice location and not far from BRP and Skyline Drive hikes. Our bed was comfortable as well as the room. The water pressure was not good but all and all we would stay here again.
Robin B — Google review
We are disappointed that hotel didn't take the booking by third party like booking.com seriously and made us feel inferior over a breakfast. We booked the room package which includes the breakfast and mentioned that we only need to pay $0.10 per person for the breakfast. Upon reaching the hotel in the afternoon, the front desk informed us that there was no breakfast available with our booking, but after showing the email from Booking.com that outlined the meal plan, he provided us with the booking voucher for five people. The following morning, upon our arrival at the breakfast area, the individual named 'Naresh,' who was responsible for overseeing breakfast and the front desk, informed us that he was unable to provide breakfast, despite our possession of a breakfast voucher. I presented him with the email detailing the breakfast plan and requested that he charge $0.50 for five individuals; however, his demeanor was exceedingly rude, offensive, and lacking in proper manners. He even rejected the breakfast voucher which was given by their staff only and made us feel that we got the voucher from some street person. I was on vacation with my husband, two small kids (3 year and 4 year old), and my over 65-year-old mother, and I specifically paid for the breakfast package while booking so that we would not have any trouble with the small kids and my mom. This hotel staff specially the guy named Naresh made us feel like we were trying to steal the breakfast from him. We felt so humiliated by him even though we had the breakfast voucher and email from Booking.com, and was asked to leave the area. Hotel staff member conveyed an impression that our reservation, made through a third party like Booking.com was of lesser value (even though we paid the same or may be more price than hotel website), and shows disregard for third-party reservations. We kindly request that you reconsider accepting bookings from third party in the future if you have so much disregard for third-party reservations Regrettably, based on this experience, we will not be recommending this hotel to others.

While some guests found room quality to be higher than expected for the price, others felt that costs were not fully justified by room quality.
Great lil hotel out of the way. Beds are comfy, rooms always clean, better than most places price wise unless on the weekends when all hotels have higher prices. Always very kind and helpful desk staff. Haven't tried breakfast yet. But overall I'd definitely recommend them. Location is great with 7 eleven and Wawa close but, as well as food lion and a Mexican restaurant and store right behind the hotel. Rooms are soundproof so you don't get the next room TV blaring all night. Definitely worth the money.

The service was terrible. A/C doesn’t work good. Front desk guy was rude at checkout. Room was dirty and old. Smelt like mold. Only positive was the location. It was right off the interstate. The homeless guy that sleeps on the bench was nice though.

This place was a hidden gem! The room was comfortable and clean, as was the entire hotel. I booked it for the pool and its convenient location to Monticello. The pool was cool and clean, and the location was great. What I did not expect was the absolute 5-star service from a 2-star hotel. Gloria checked us in and acquainted us with the hotel. We had a little trouble getting internet access, and Gloria came down and set it all up, including helping us get our apps connected to the TV. She was the highlight of the stay! The morning staff were equal in help and kindness. We will definitely be staying again when we come back through!

Booked through a 3rd party and the room we wanted wasn't available. The pullout bed in our room was really low quality, just springs and fabric with zero padding. Bad enough that our kids complained.

I cannot believe this place lets rooms be rented the way they are. We walked in and found blood, snot, and hair in the bathtub. The toilet didn't flush, the handle was broken. There were more than 10 used press on nails under the bed, as well as a burger king drink cup and a sock, and some empty baggie of something. We noped out of there immediately.

However, I don’t know if it’s a cleaning product or an issue with the AC units or what, but I used three different rooms on my trip, and the two on the third floor both smelled quite unpleasant. No issue with the room on the first floor at all though! So not really sure what’s going on there. Otherwise, pleasant stay.

There was nothing wrong with our stay until we left. My daughters and I came simply to sleep and shower after a show at the college and headed out in the morning. The front desk wasn't especially friendly but also not rude, they got us our keys and our room. We slept fine and left in the morning after dropping our room keys at the front desk with the receptionist. After leaving town the following day I noticed a charge from Fairfield for $78.98. Upon calling I learned it was a "pet fee" from whoever answered the phone. Mind you I don't own a pet, I didn't bring a pet, I didn't book a room to include a pet, I don't even desire to have a pet or to pet someone else's pet! She went on to tell me that since I didn't drop my keys at the front desk the room was open until 12:30pm- I DID drop the keys at the front desk to a human at 9:30AM - and the cleaning people said there was dog hair in it. So there's nothing she can do about that charge. I have called James Brown (the assistant manager) every day for a week, leaving my number on his machine and with the front desk (was even told he was there but not available several times) and have received ZERO returned calls. I explained the situation in my message and expressed several times that I'd like to give the opportunity to make this right before disputing with my bank or leaving a poor review, but it seems this is not important to them. So if you're looking to spend an additional $80 on your room that you were not expecting and nobody to bat an eye at the unauthorized charged, please do book here. ***EDIT **** While I appreciate the response and "effort" to make this right, an anonymous message from "the owner" to contact them directly with zero contact information provided is laughable at best.

Amazing staff and clean rooms. The employees and hotel staff make this a 5 star experience. I arrived to the hotel to recover from a medical procedure. I arrived not knowing that I was having a severe reaction to some the medication that I had been given. The staff was so kind and concerned for my safety that they went above and beyond to get me the assistance that I needed. I am so thankful to all those kind souls who helped me during a very stressful and serious medical emergency!

Overall disappointing. My spouse and I had to stay for a night with our toddler, so we got the king suite. Our toddler did okay sleeping on the couch bed, but our bed was very hard and creaked loudly every time I thought about rolling over. We got almost no sleep. The room was generally poorly maintained, with missing carpet spots and loose hardware. The window curtains didn't block much of the street lights from 29. The trucks going by on 29 with their engine brakes all night didn't help either. Plus, the single elevator was disconcertingly old and noisy. The breakfast was fine, but the only fruit was a couple bananas and a handful of oranges. While the location was convenient, we would not stay here again because of the noise and awful bed.

The hotel is showing its age but appears to be going through a renovation right now. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is a very good location for travelers and visitors alike. plenty of room to stroll at the nearby Mall.

This hotel is everything a motel should be and a motel every other needs to strive to be! The rooms were immaculate! Beds were cozy and so comfortable! The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Fairfield Inn will be my go to in looking to book motels into the future.

I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. The rooms are very old, shower water pressure was close to a trickle. I expressly requested room service the second day I was there, and they did not perform it. When I reminded the front desk staff, he rudely responded that he had put it into the system and that there was nothing else he could do about it. Terrible service. Not a place I would recommend to anyone. I am repeatedly having bad experiences at Marriott hotels. I think this is my last time staying at a Marriott hotel.

My wife was the manager for another well know chain of motels for more than 10 years. During that time I did a large portion of the maintenance. I was very impressed to see that there was nothing I could see in our room that was needful of maintenance. I say this knowing first hand what to look for.

This joint was hidden away behind two other motels. Glad I found it. Got a great rate, and then the girl asked if I'd like a SMOKING or a NON SMOKING room. I had to beg her pardon. She did in fact offer me a SMOKING option. I took it. Virginia loves me.
Ryan L — Google review
The room was very nice, quiet and very clean. It has been one of the nicer Econo Lodges that I have visited through the last several years. The only downside is that there is disabled parking very close to the front desk, but there seems to be no ramp that allows you to gain entrance to the motel office or guest rooms. When inquiring, the pleasant lady said she believed there was a disabled ramp on the backside of the hotel. If this is correct, this would be very inconvenient for the guest.

Very nice rooms and the stuff were awesome. Got a grocery store around and fast food, gas station whatever you need. Convenient and priced the same as any other hotel in Charlottesville.

I will keep it short. 100 % positive. It's not the Taj Mahal but it's clean, well appointed, and quiet. Tv worked well. Fridge was cold. You won't be posting pics to Instagram, but this place was amazing.

We were very happy about the price performance ratio. The room was clean and nice. The staff polite and helpful. There was unfortunately no milk, nothing gluten free, nor anything fresher, like veggies, in the breakfast choices, otherwise we can recommend the place.

Cozy, quiet hotel. Rooms are very spacious - 2 bedroom suite was like staying in an apartment. Furniture was dated and worn, but nonetheless the room was comfortable. Staff were kind and welcoming throughout our stay. Overall, excellent choice if wanting to stay near UVA Law.

My mom and I are both born and raised right here in Charlottesville, but after our home unexpectedly flooded, we found ourselves needing somewhere to stay on short notice. We ended up at Sonesta ES Suites, and I honestly can’t imagine a better place we could’ve landed. From the moment we checked in, the staff made us feel not just welcomed—but truly cared for. Every single person we interacted with, from the front desk to housekeeping to maintenance, was warm, helpful, and genuinely kind. I don’t think I met one employee here that I didn’t absolutely love—and that’s incredibly rare. The property itself is beautiful and really well taken care of. The pool, basketball court, and pickleball area added so much life to our stay. It didn’t feel like just another hotel—it felt like home. Whether we were enjoying a swim, getting some fresh air, or just relaxing in our suite, everything about this place gave us a sense of peace during a very stressful time. The housekeeping staff keeps everything spotless and were always so respectful and efficient. The maintenance team responded quickly to any little need, and always with a smile. And the front desk team—they are on a whole other level. Accommodating, friendly, and always going the extra mile to make sure we were okay. This is a beyond well-run hotel, and I can’t thank them enough for making our temporary home feel so safe, welcoming, and enjoyable. If you’re staying in Charlottesville for any reason—vacation, business, or something unexpected like we did—I can’t recommend Sonesta Suites enough. Thank you to everyone on the team. You made a tough situation feel a whole lot brighter.

We stayed for a week. Great location for anyone visiting Darden. Breakfast was decent but could have had few more options. Service was decent, they cleaned the room twice in the 7 nights we stayed. Rooms are comfortable, bit old styled. Only complain was that difficult to control shower temperature (either too hot or too cold - I see that others have also complained about this). Hotel has a decent gym and pool.
Saurabh D — Google review
The hotel overall was clean and comfortable. While most hotels only offer bagels, juice, and coffee for breakfast this one offered a surprising range of options. My only real complaint is with the staff that checked us in. The entire check in experience was unpleasant. It started off on the wrong foot when I was greeted by "what do you want". It went further downhill when staff started gossiping loudly about another staff member named Kathy. It then hit bottom when the person checking me in claimed I used a third party site and demanded I provide additional information even though that was incorrect. I was relieved when the check-in process was over. The checkout process was a pleasant experience however.

Great staff - so very friendly and gracious. Wonderful location - easy to get to main roads and stores for groceries, also close to park where you can get some outdoor time. Rooms are in good condition- clean and well cared for. Parking is very convenient and we were able to park near the entrance to our room each time. Check in and check out were a breeze. Overall a great stay. Thank you so much!

I came here with a very happy mood. Till the last day breakfast time I was totally upset by the lady who works there. I kept greeting her but she has hostile attitude towards me, didn’t respond my greeting with a long nasty face, which is not acceptable. She might have her personal issues but it should not bring to customers. Another thing is I never seen any hotels that doesn’t clean room daily.

So many good things to say, not sure where to start! 1. Called and spoke with Mary. There was no phone menu which is amazing in this day and age! Mary was so friendly and professional! I had a few questions about the rooms which she answered promptly and thoroughly. 2. The rooms were clean and very comfortable! 3. The continental breakfast was the best I've ever had, by far. They had staff in the dining and serving areas checking on guests to make sure they were happy, and promptly changing out trays as needed. The food was actually real food, and there was a great selection! 4. Mary and her manager Allie were amazing in helping us get a refund from the travel site we booked through when we had to check out a few days early, even drafting a letter for us to submit to ensure we got our refund. This kind of care and service was rare 10 years ago, but is almost unheard of now. Great work Mary, Allie, and the rest of the team at Holiday Inn Express and Suites!

Very comfy beds, quiet atmosphere, centrally located, spacious breakfast area. Loved the hot tub and the pool. The shower in the room was great - spacious, good water pressure, grab bars for balance.

The room and service was not the best. We paid for early check in and when we arrived at the hotel, our room was not ready until 3:30. When we got to the room, the shower would not drain, after further inspection, we found out that the drain was completely clogged with hair. Which means there is no way the shower was properly cleaned prior to our arrival. We were given a new room and our money back but it was disheartening to have to go through all of that. The staff were nice and friendly but I just believe there were not enough workers to accommodate the number of rooms.

Very clean and comfy place to lay your head. Good pool and spa close to places for a good dinner. I was expecting the normal cardboard you get for a continental breakfast but was pleasantly surprised that in front of me was not nutrient paste but actual food that had flavor.

We stayed at this property as an overnight on a long roadtrip. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful and the location was great. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the noisy airconditioner. It was so loud, turning off and on, that we could not get a good nights sleep, which was the reason for our stay.

Needs to train their receptionist on hospitals or just basic communication skills. Receptionist both day and night was snarky and rude. Overheard as well how she refused to accommodate late check in to a poor frantic gentleman. Disappointed with the service not to mention our room had no shampoo nor hand wash and there. Vent in bathroom was also broken.

I think its a great place for the money! Some people are way to picky they have a pocket full of wants and a hand full of give me! If you want a 500.00 room go get one. If you want a comfortable room and rest! This place is great and reasonably priced! The owners are nice people! I give them a 5 star!

In room 325 it's a little cut out behind the light that's sitting above that big mirror in the sink area. I witnessed myself saying eyes behind that little slit and then gradually the cut out where the light was sitting over top got smaller and smaller and it made it harder and harder for me to see each time I went to inspect what I thought somebody was looking at me but definitely somebody was behind that light and they were stalking and looking at me

Got there at 11pm to get a room. Got it and didn’t get into my room until about midnight. When I did get into my room there was no TP or towels. When I went to go get some it took a while to get some both times and staff seemed impatient. Next time I will consider sleeping in my car or going somewhere else.

Stayed there for 1 night after a concert. My usual go to hotels were not available. I paid $111 for the night and had to check out by 11 am. The room was ok but sparse it did have a fridge and microwave. I did see 1 roach, killed it and didn't see any others. Checked the bed for bed bugs and didn't find any. The shower had great pressure and IMO the temperature was very well regulated. Although this would not be my first choice for accommodations at this price, it will do in a pinch.

Nestled in a prime location, Jefferson Commons is an ideal haven for both students and history enthusiasts alike. Just a stone's throw away from iconic sites like Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and James Monroe's Ashlawn-Highland, it offers easy access to rich historical experiences. For those who appreciate the great outdoors, there are plenty of activities such as hiking, horseback riding, and even hot air ballooning to enjoy nearby.
I chose this location because it was super close to grounds and I was able to get to my classes within 15 mins. I highly recommend living here if you want to stay closer to grounds. I also loved the office staff. They were super friendly, welcoming, and were able to accommodate all of my needs!

Summary: If you have the money, this is a very nice place. But be ready for corporate management bs where no one takes responsibility Pros: - Pretty much as close to the university as you can get aside from student housing - Recent renovated, very large kitchen and living room - Outdoor area with a grill, tables and chairs, and hammocks - Internet was decently fast Cons: Maintenance could use a lot of work. Many times the maintenance requests would be checked as completed without actually being completed. One time we overheard one of the maintenance workers speaking with his boss on the phone saying he doesn't know how to fix the problem and was told to 'figure it out'. Later he just left and the problem was marked 'resolved' online. - Toilet was broken for 6 weeks before calling an actual plumber instead of some clueless handyman - HVAC was broken for pretty much the entire time we were staying, despite requests. If you think that a bucket under the HVAC to collect dripping water counts then sure it was 'fixed.' And you pay electricity bills on the broken HVAC. - There were termites in one of the rooms, and when we moved out tried to charge us for the hilariously shoddy paint job the maintenance did - Internet would randomly cut out for hours/days Payment issues. Make a spreadsheet or take screenshots of the payments and maintenance for your own sake as the online history disappears. - Tried to charge us for security deposit twice - Charged us for the above termite damage along with a door slat that was broken when we moved in - 2 free parking spots turned into $50-75 monthly for each spot - 10.7% rent increase despite renewal - Service charge when paying that was not there before - Careful with autopayment, one roommate moved out but the autopayment charged him for the month of July after our lease ended For how much money rent is here, these problems should not exist. Seriously, get it together. There was one really helpful employee named Allie, but since the company got bought out I'm not sure she is still there.

Absolutely loved my time at Jefferson Commons! The updates made on the apartments are super nice, its quiet and close to grounds, if I weren't graduating I would live here again. 10/10 recommend!
Jay J — Google review
Maintenance is very lacking, with them taking weeks to fix something or not fixing it at all. There is a clear lack of oversight as maintenence will attempt to fix something, give up, leave and mark the request as finished. The landlords keep increasing rent instead of dealing with this issue. Edit: The WiFi has also gone out multiple times over our stay, lasting the entire day, with the most recent outage lasting over 3 days.

I recently stayed at the Clarion in Charlottesville Virginia. I was visiting my son who attends UVA and had hip surgery. We were at the Clarion for 10 days. Upon arrival Giu and his staff were warm and welcoming. He offered assistance with my son who was using a walker, he also offered to have one of his employees bring breakfast to our room, if we couldn’t make it down in time. Throughout our stay Gui consistently checked in with us and made us feel very welcome. The facility was clean and the parking lot was well lit. I finally had to return to California. As we were leaving Gui told me that if my son needed anything that he and his staff would be willing to help him out!! Amazing above and beyond customer service!! Valuation you have an exemplary employee with you GM in your Charlottesville locations!! Kudos Gui and stafff!! Thank you.

Extremely loud hotel with paper thin walls, could hear the neighbor's toilet's flushing and all the conversation of everyone in the halls, sirens from the road too even though it is setback. It's a safe, clean place to stay but that's about it. Also got price gouged because I stayed on a night of an event. 360$ for one night of terrible sleep. Check in person was kind and professional.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! We had reservations for 5 nights. After checking in, the hall and room smelled horrible. We bought room spray and turned the air down. There were stains on the carpet, and in the shower, food on the walls and furniture. After going downstairs the next morning we realized it was filthy too. We decided to request a refund and leave. The front staff had no idea how to handle this so we waited 1 1/2 hours for Geoffrey the manager who gave multiple reasons why he would not give a refund. He stated he was having the staff clean. He was so rude. The corporate office says it is up to the manager to decide if he wants to give a refund. Customer service is definitely lacking with this company. We may have lost $500 but we couldn’t stay in that filth. We are disputing it with our credit card.

Absolute Dump. Both rooms they tried to give us reeked of mildew and smoke. Moister in the air was suffocating. Black mold all over the ceiling and walls. People before us taped a bag over the fire alarm and hot boxed the room. Fire alarm went off at 2am from someone smoking in their room. Workers sat at front counter with hoods pulled up over their heads and reeked of weed. Price was your typical budget hotel. The clientele were what you would expect at a place like this….The quality was the same. Just would not expect to have such a moist room and food all over the elevator floor. Alot of what appeared to be homeless and twitchy individuals coming and going or just hanging out.. To add salt to the wound the manager GRAAAYYGGEEH would not give refund. Avoid this place at all costs. Pay extra for the Hyatt close by or sleep in your car.

I had a truly frustrating experience at this hotel. When I arrived, I couldn't even check in because the front desk was closed until 6 AM - something I've never encountered at any hotel before. There was no clear communication about after-hours check-in procedures, and no staff available to assist. I tried contacting the hotel for help and a refund, but no one was helpful or responsive. This kind of service is unacceptable. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel unless you enjoy being stranded with zero support.

The first room we were in the carpet was soaked. The second room was musty (found mold in the a/c unit). It is advertised as having a pool, but it is closed and not open. Breakfast had no bowls for cereal. If you don’t get to the breakfast early enough then there’s no waffle batter nor is there yogurt. Our toilet was leaking. Rust was all over the place and hair on the floor that was not the color of anyone in my family. And when i went to talk to someone, there’s just a sign on the desk saying they are away. You will not be compensated in ANY way and just ignored. AVOID this place.

Where to start. I will say rooms were very clean. But that's it. Check in around 945pm. Whole downstairs smelled of smoking. Family went up stairs as I parked. Their key didn't work. Luckily mine did when I got up there. Free Breakfast has to be a joke on their website. Trash cans over flowing. Dry cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt. Did have waffle maker but it was broke. Counter with milk, juice, trash all over it. No hot food as advertised. So we went of for breakfast both days. Seems an employee or more live there. With kids and their friends. All over the place. Bikes in the lobby. Placed priced well and clean room. But will never stay at a Clarion property after this one. Huge let down.

It is a great choice for couples, friends, or families looking for a chic boutique experience. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi and afternoon snacks during their stay. Additionally, the inn is attached to Farm Bell Kitchen, known for its farm-to-table brunch.
Our stay was fantastic! The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the inn had such a cozy and rustic feel to it. The service was fantastic and the breakfast was amazing (and included!). We definitely will be back here.

We had a great stay at the Dinsmore in June 2025. We stayed in the Veranda Room - it was unique and very comfortable! There were thoughtful touches like a noise machine that made the stay even better. The whole place is really charming. The location is fantastic; it’s an easy walk to campus and very accessible to the downtown area. Easy walk to the John Paul Jones Arena. Everything was clearly communicated throughout our stay and Jake was very helpful throughout the booking and check in process. We would absolutely stay here again!

Awesome historic hotel in the most ideal location in Cville. Jake the manager is a delight, the historical touches scattered around are interesting, the room I stayed in was gorgeous, and the quality of the mattress, pillows, and bedding is straight up decadent. On-site parking is in the neighboring hotel's garage. Shower is hot and has good pressure. Complimentary breakfast voucher for the very nice little cafe next door. Only small downsides: old house means creaky floors and audible plumbing. You definitely know when someone walks nearby or turns on their faucet. Didn't bother me, but might bother you. Also, it might be nice if they vacuumed more thoroughly under the big window in room 3. I know you can't really "clean" deteriorating old wood and brick, but the floor right next to the window was still a little too crunchy for me. But overall, Dinsmore is just lovely, and will be my new go-to when I visit Cville. (Also, could y'all please let me know if you discover a lost "outer banks" tank top and/or sleep eye mask?)

We LOVED this inn! My brother and SIL highly recommended them. You receive one free breakfast, which is awesome! Jake helped us check-in early because we arrived much earlier than we thought. You're about 20 min (ish) from wineries and Monticello, which was also amazing. Tons of places to eat and just an overall great experience. If you want a more relaxed atmosphere with a beautiful room, space to relax and read a good book, and just overall calm, I highly recommend you stay here!

We loved our stay at the Dinsmore. Both the manager and the owner made us feel very welcome. We stayed on the second floor, in the 2 story building connected to the main house/restaurant. It felt private and we loved how quirky it was. We really could envision staying there 100 years prior (although our stay was luxurious). The room provided comfy robes, TV, private bath, and a very luxurious bed. For a little bit of unwinding in the evening there is space on the 3rd floor of the main house where we took our books, made ourselves a cup of tea (or coffee or sodas available), and lounged on the sofa. There is a desk there as well if anyone needs to work. The next morning we had complimentary breakfast at the Farm and Bell. It was incredible. Jake also gave us a recommendation for dinner (Orzo) which was spectacular. I can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful stay at the Dinsmore Inn, sadly it was only one night! But we really loved it. Jake's communication was top notch before and during our stay so it helped me to anticipate getting in and out. We stayed in The Dinsmore room which was perfect for us and the bed was SO comfy. Love that they saved and renovated this place because for history fans it's enlightening and inspiring how they are now serving an amazing breakfast downstairs. YES, the breakfast is fantastic and makes the stay even more special. I highly recommend a stay here if you are wanting to visit UVA and Monticello. Thanks Dinsmore staff!

Right in the heart of CVille. I stayed in Room 6, Virginia, and opened my front door to Main Street. I was able to catch the trolley within steps of the Inn. The location was close to UVA, The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center, and the historic downtown area with The Paramount Theatre (see a show there!), and lots of great restaurants. Easily accessible to other places a bit further out, like The Highlands & Monticello.

Very nice historical home. Our room had a beautiful walnut bed that was quite comfortable! If you like historic places...stay here.

The Inn at 400 West High is a bed and breakfast located in the North Downtown area of Columbus. It is a nicely decorated place, with private entrances and comfortable rooms. The B&B offers a nice breakfast, cookies and drinks to guests.
We had a fabulous time during our stay at The Inn. The location is great, so close to the downtown Mall. The room was so cozy and inviting. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely and well-appointed. I can't say enough about chef Diane's amazing breakfast. She was an absolute joy to interact with and the breakfast she made us was so good! Yogurt parfaits, bacon, made to order omelets, buttered croissants - it was all wonderful. My only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely make it a point to visit again.

My wife and I visited on 2/23/17 and stayed in the Ridge Apartment for 2 nights. It was a fantastic experience. The Apartment is spacious with its own kitchen, dining area, extra living space, and spacious porch. The bed was fantastically comfortable and the shower/bath was very luxurious. Regarding Breakfast, Diana was fantastic. She made us her special Espresso Waffles and has now earned the moniker "Wonder Woman" (her name is Diana) with regard to her hospitality and cuisine. In addition, the complimentary 24/7 drinks and cookies and the easy/convenient walk to the downtown mall makes this a place you want to retreat to again. We had other plans for our trip and instead stayed close to enjoy the property and room.

We rented the whole Inn for our wedding in Charlottesville the weekend of November 3rd (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday). It really made the whole event wonderful. All the family was coming in from out of town, so it was so nice to have a "home base" to finish last minute preparations and let everyone chat together. Carolyn, the proprietress, was a wonderful host. She is very friendly and helpful and managed to turn up anything we could have possibly needed - be it paper cutter, iron, or snack. Breakfast was wonderful - on different mornings we had a baked egg in salsa dish, breakfast casseroles, and fresh crepes. There was always fresh fruit and yogurt and granola, and plenty of juice and coffee. The Inn itself is beautiful. It has so much character and nooks and crannies it was a pleasure to stay in; we felt right at home. The bedrooms are all well appointed - ours even had a fireplace. The Inn is located within a block of the downtown mall, which gave our guests something to do and us a place to go eat dinner. It was a perfect weekend. We only wish we could have stayed longer! We look forward to returning for anniversaries.

The room we stayed in was lovely! Comfortable bed, nice size bathroom, and a private deck. The breakfast the next morning was delicious! Staff is very hospitable and friendly. Will definitely go back!

My new husband and I spent two weeknights at the Inn at 400 West High for our minimoon after the wedding! Carolyn greeted us immediately when we arrived and we felt so welcome, like she was so happy we were visiting her Inn. She had a fridge full of cold water and pop for us to grab as we came and went. We had a private balcony, bathroom and fireplace in our room. There were plush white robes hanging in our room for us...clean glasses and a wine opener...packaged soaps and toiletries...and a welcome letter with chocolate in our room! We really enjoyed her potted plants and seating areas outside all around the house. The Inn was also very quiet! We were never disturbed by traffic or people outside...rare in a college town I think! The Inn smelled fresh and everything was so clean. Carolyn has impeccable tastes when it comes to keeping her Inn's style fresh and relevant and cozy. She really stands out from the rest! Every time we returned to our room from our town ventures, an elf had visited to straighten the bed and put fresh towels. Nice touch, always discreet! Each morning we were greeted by the smell of bacon and a sweet girl named Anne in the kitchen downstairs. She is the chef and made the tastiest treats for breakfast. Fresh grapefruit, orange juice, yogurt parfaits, Bacon and gruyere quiche, spinach and feta omelettes....YUM! So much nicer than your average stale bagel and Chobani yogurt B+B spread! We truly wish we were able to spend more time away on our minimoon, we had such a lovely time and we can't wait to return. Thank you Carolyn and Anne!

If you like to travel like my wife and I do, it is always a pleasure to find a place to stay like The Inn at 400 West High. When visiting a town or area we like to find accommodations to spend a night or two that has its own unique personality. In some cases you will need to stay at a Four Seasons or the White Barn Inn, but at times it is great to find a place with its own style. One of our favorites is the Inn at Biltmore Estates and now when in Charlottesville it will be the Inn at 400 West High. Depending upon what your pleasure is the Inn is a short walking distance to the downtown Charlottesville Square, or a short drive to the University of Virginia. The Inn is centrally located for a day of visiting the Charlottesville areas many Vineyards or Distillers. The day at the Inn is started with a great breakfast and for your pleasure the rest of your day there is water, cookies, coffee and tea. The accommodations are very well appointed, clean and love that rain shower head. Before you venture out both Carolyn, owner and her husband Gary know the Charlottesville area and will be able to help you with directions or ideas on what to do that day. Hope you enjoy your stay as we did.
