Nestled in the heart of Guernsey, La Fregate Hotel is a delightful 4-star retreat that beautifully marries historic elegance with modern comforts. This charming establishment, housed in an 18th-century building surrounded by serene terraced gardens, offers guests breathtaking views of the harbor and surrounding islands like Sark and Herm. Each airy room and suite is designed to provide a peaceful escape while featuring contemporary amenities such as free Wi-Fi and iPod docking stations.
Absolutely loved my stay here! Amazing view from the room, huge balcony, huge room, clean room and clean washroom, right vibe of the room, comfortable bed and every just perfect. The hotel is about 5 mins walk from city centre. It’s a beautiful hotel and has a very courteous, professional and amazing staff. The food is delicious, you can order small bites anytime from kitchen till 9pm which is great, breakfast/lunch/dinner hours the usual. Everything was just perfect here! CHEERS to the team there!

We booked and paid for a deluxe hotel, but ended up with La Frégate, a mediocre mid-range hotel. Rooms without a refrigerator or minibar, an extremely small breakfast (see photo "Breakfast buffet"). No swimming pool, no spa, no wellness... This is OK for a 3-star hotel but very far from 4 or 5 stars.
Luft W — Google review
We stayed here for a long weekend Friday until Monday. Room was nice and clean had a lovely view, of the port. Location good, the walk is little steep coming back, its a bit like a maze trying to get back in to garden. Hotel staff all pleasant and helpful, arranged taxi for us. We had room service food was lovey. Ploughman's and the fillet beef salad and oyster for starters. Reasonable prices too

In years gone by going out for lunch or dinner at La Fregate was a real treat, something to get dressed up for. Not any longer. I didn’t see the rooms but the restaurant, bar, toilets, hotel foyer are all looking tired and in need of an upgrade. Sat in the bar whilst waiting to go into the restaurant there is the whiff of drains from the toilets - speaking of which, the door of one of the two cubicles in the ladies wouldn’t shut at all. You’d expect better. The restaurant in the evening, when i visited, was far too brightly lit - zero ambience. Staff were absolutely fine. We opted for the Tennerfest menu, which at £28.00 would likely be more expensive than many of the other restaurants taking part this year, but on top of that it was necessary to spend a further £4.95 for each “side” to avoid your plate looking like a child’s portion. I’m aware that Tennerfest meals are notoriously small but this was a bit much. Although what there was on the plates was nicely presented, it was only average, and definitely not worth £28. All in all, disappointing and this is a real shame. It definitely needs money spending and the services of an interior designer to make the restaurant, in particular, return to the high class establishment that it used to be
Rebecca S — Google review
Had a meal here. Feel ripped off. Menu stated mushrooms (got half of one) Potatoes were cut as crisps. Onion rings turned out to be only one thin onion ring. Nearly £8 extra for the garlic sauce with the steak which wasn't stated on the menu either. No wonder the place is nearly empty! You should be trying to attract customers, not deter them from returning.

We have visited Guernsey many times and always promised ourselves a stay at La Fregate, it didn't disappoint! Food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent and our bay view room (114) offered wonderful harbour views. The service provided by the hotel staff was friendly and attentive but our stay was made all the more memorable by Saakshi who couldn't do enough for us and was always willing to help and advise. We look forward to our next visit.
Beverley S — Google review
Hotel was nice with old world charm of a grand central staircase. We ate dinner and breakfast there - tasting dinner menu was excellent, breakfast was nice enough but buffet selection was sparse. The restaurant has a panoramic view of the port and out towards the other islands. Room had a beautiful view too but was very VERY dated. Tiny shower with an ok fashioned electric shower. Wood chip wall paper on the ceilings. Wiring running around the skirting and where maintenance had been done the finish and care was extremely poor. Pipes sticking out through the bathroom floor not connected to anything, Bath panels falling off…not what you expect for over £200 a night. My advice would be come for a meal but don’t bother staying.

We enjoyed a one night staycation at La Fregate Hotel. The staff were lovely and the food was excellent. We enjoyed one of their superior rooms, which included a balcony offering spectacular views across St Peter Port.

The Old Government House Hotel & Spa is a luxurious and historic hotel located in St Peter Port, Guernsey. Originally built in 1792 as the governor's residence, it was converted into a hotel in 1858 and offers a grand and upscale experience. The hotel boasts stunning views of the port, two refined restaurants, an outdoor pool, and a boutique spa. With its rich history and elegant decor, this five-star hotel provides modern amenities while maintaining its historical charm.
We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary here (after spending our honeymoon at the OGH last year) and once again, we had the most amazing time. We were spoilt with a room upgrade and spa acces. We then had a beautiful dinner with cocktails in the Crown Club, followed by the best sleep in the comfiest of beds. We woke up to a chocolate egg outside our door, as it was also Easter - a lovely touch! A super yummy breakfast, followed by a beautiful afternoon tea... And to top it off, a couples massage! Safe to say, it was the most fabulous 24 hours, and the staff are just the most friendly and helpful we have ever encountered. Big shout out to Kris, Pamela and Christina for making it extra special! We shall see you again next year!

I had the most amazing authentic English afternoon tea experience at The Old Government House Hotel & Spa with my fiancé and his mum. Everything was perfect—from the elegant setting to the beautifully arranged tiered stand of sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. The tea selection was lovely, and the staff were absolutely amazing—so warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. It was such a special and memorable afternoon in a truly charming and historic setting. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy a proper English afternoon tea in Guernsey. We’ll definitely be back!

Booked a four day break and was given a Queen Room 109. Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and a lovely balcony that overlooks the port. Service is first class, all very friendly....cater for everything. Food and drink is exceptional. Located just off the High Street in an elevated position....quiet and ok if you don't like hills. Superb hotel offering a 5star service

We are traveling from East Riding of Yorkshire to Guernsey via Poole ferries as I write this. This is the 4th visit for us in a year so that speaks volumes. On our previous visits to OGH have been wonderful. I had a special birthday there, our wedding anniversary, a Christmas event, and a few family meal/ stays which this 5 ⭐️ hotel was the perfect venue. It’s truly got to be the best hotel on St Peter Port. I will enclose some photos of our stays and I’m sure you will understand too why it’s the only 5 star hotel on the island. Beautiful historic building, Gorgeous clean rooms, lovely welcome at reception. Bars, communal rooms ( piano/ music) and stunning restaurant with menu’s to suit any palate. Unfortunately we left this holiday booking ( July 25 ) too late therefore “no rooms at the Inn” So lesson learned there! . We will still visit The old government house for meals and drinks and hopefully get a few day passes to their fantastic pool and spa. I best not forget the Staff! Very attentive, fun, friendly, and most of all very professional. ❤️

We held our wedding at the OGH and couldn’t fault our experience. Planning everything from abroad made it a little more difficult but the events manager, Mel, was exceptional—she made us feel completely at ease and in safe hands from the very start. In the lead-up to the big day, everything from the food tasting to the planning meetings with the team was smooth, professional, and accommodating. On the day itself, the staff were fantastic—attentive, warm, and seamless in their service. So many of our guests commented on how great the team was. We opted for a three-course meal, which received rave reviews. Everything ran perfectly and exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely recommend the OGH to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-run wedding venue.

Lovely beautiful old building. Went for drinks before dinner. Be careful though - when ordering a Gordon’s gin and tonic they will charge you for a double Whedons!!! Couldn’t complain because I didn’t want to make a scene. Not impressed I must say! Rest of the place stunning and as it should be!

Had an absolutely fantastic stay here for a long weekend. Service was exceptional staff were friendly and super helpful. If you stay definitely recommend the curry restaurant Indian and South African fusion was amazing.

Fantastic evening at the OGH. Delicious seafood platter, brilliant, cocktails, and wonderful service throughout the evening. The staff even created a bespoke coffee with a picture for Tessa my dog. Alessandro and his team five star as always.

The Farmhouse Hotel and Restaurant is a family-run boutique hotel that seamlessly blends country house character with contemporary comfort and design. Located in the scenic Guernsey countryside, it offers stylish bedrooms, award-winning cuisine, and luxurious accommodation. The 15th-century building has been sumptuously decorated to 4-star specifications while retaining its natural charm. With extensive grounds, beautiful sandy beaches nearby, and exceptional service, it's an ideal retreat for relaxation or exploration.
This is a beautiful place. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The photos do not do the Farmhouse justice. We were in the quiter indoor area for coffee and mini mince pies came for free. Such a lovely atmosphere. It was Christmas time and staff had beautifully dressed the hotel public areas. Well worth a visit.

Truly enjoyed the experience! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, especially a gentleman named Jeff, who was exceptionally kind. The food was absolutely delicious! I would definitely love to return if I have the chance to visit Guernsey again!

The Farmhouse is a luxurious country hotel that offers a peaceful rural setting, a dream for any wedding photographer looking for open spaces and rustic charm. The property is surrounded by green fields and gardens, giving me ample room to capture romantic couple portraits against natural backdrops (I’ve taken lovely shots of brides and grooms under the pergolas). One great feature is that The Farmhouse can host outdoor ceremonies or marquee receptions on its lawn, which means wedding photography at The Farmhouse in Guernsey can include everything from sunlit aisle shots to atmospheric tent lighting after dark. The building itself has classic stonework and a cozy, elegant interior; I especially appreciate the stylish mix of modern and farmhouse decor inside, which photographs beautifully during dinner and dancing. The staff’s experience with weddings shows, timelines run smoothly, and I always have a chance to whisk the couple away for golden-hour photos in that soft country sunset. It’s an idyllic venue that consistently yields warm, storybook images.

Horrible stay here. First impressions I thought, ok this is nice. It’s NOT. My room was super noisy above the bar area, had to move, some of the staff members were openly talking about a guest who had complained about their meal, they said all of this within my earshot. No attempt to be discreet at all. All you hear is traffic out of the terrible cheap windows all night. Not a great sleep due to this. Staff couldn’t really care less about anything. This is an awful hotel to stay in, I’d do the premier inn anyway instead of this. Carpet was filthy near bed, shower stank of mould, cups were dirty for tea and coffee in the room. The prices they charge is shocking for this hovel.
Sunshine — Google review
I really do not know why this is a 4 star hotel, it really is not. Music was playing 7:30 until 22:00 which is fine but you should not hear this in the rooms themselves, and ambient warbling of some cover artist gets sickening after a while. Food was OK but not worth the price, I agree with some of the reviews about this now. Hot water, no matter how long we ran the shower in the morning nothing hot came out, same for the sink, the bath did get warm in the end but by that time we just wanted to leave! Rooms - beds uncomfortable just because you have duck feather pillows it does not mean your luxury! There was a crack in the wall, the towel rain has been bodged back up on the wall as incorrect fittings had been installed, and the TV mount was a bodge of cables - it looked like nobody has put any pride in anything. The only positive thing I can say which I must make note of if the woman on the main desk and the woman who was in the breakfast room had impeccable service, thank you both.
B M — Google review
Couldn't fault any element of our two day stay here. Room was spacious, very comfy beds, lovely bathroom and the whole room was spotless. All the staff were fantastic, very welcoming and were happy to help with anything we needed. Breakfast selection is really good and freshly cooked. Didn't have an evening meal. As the hotel is small it feels exclusive and personal and is the perfect place to relax. Buses run from the road outside with links into St Peter Port and the Airport

Nestled in a peaceful and secluded spot just 5 minutes from St Peter Port, Fermain Valley Hotel offers stunning bay views and a range of upscale amenities. The hotel boasts polished rooms, an indoor pool, and three distinct restaurants including a steakhouse, Greek eatery, and Mexican cantina. Guests can also indulge in afternoon tea at the charming Valley Tea Rooms with its outdoor terrace overlooking the sea.
We’ve been coming here over 8 years, and we just love it. The rooms are lovely, if you have a balcony room the views down to the bay are spectacular. The on site restaurants are brilliant. You won’t be disappointed by the Rock Garden Steakhouse or BoHu which is a authentic Mexican. The foods delicious in both. It’s the location that draws us back every year. Not forgetting the fabulous staff who always go that extra mile to ensure your stay is memorable. It’s just not us that love it, our family and friends have been too,not once were they disappointed.

Lovely hotel, super staff, lovely breakfast. Buho Mexican very good. A good walk into town, but hotel does offer a shuttle service. Stayed 4 nights Just one gripe, service charge for pouring two beers at the bar!

We had a wonderful weeks’ family holiday at Fermain Valley Hotel! The staff were so kind and accommodating. Our kids were super excited about their own little robes, and very kindly the cuddly toys gifted to them. We loved the location, the views, the breakfasts (amazing), and the pool was fab too. We ended up using it 3 times! It truly felt like a luxury break. I read in a previous review someone had said the rooms were too warm - we had no issue with this as we just turned the radiators down. Someone else complained that only the full English was worth eating at breakfast - we would disagree. All options were lovely. The gardens are gorgeous - the walk down to Fermain beach is idyllic. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to family or friends.
Martha B — Google review
What an amazing stay at the Fermain Valley hotel. Utterly accommodating staff (bringing us toast to our room at 2300 as our journey had been so delayed and the kitchen was closed), delicious food, and knock-out views. It's so rare to find hospitality staff who appear genuinely happy in their job....its cos they're all here at the Fermain. Every single member of staff from start to finish was relaxed, happy, helpful, and scrupulously polite. The hotel is situated in a beautiful valley, a short, twisting walk through verdant woodland to a tiny, sheltered stony cove which almost feels like a private beach. My only regret is that our stay has been so short. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. Some other reviews have commented on the slightly dated décor; whilst that is perhaps true (the rooms having a bit of an early-noughties vibe) everything is clean, and furniture/ furnishings etc are high quality... the hotel has genuine charm and character compared to some soulless, high-end hotels. Shout out to the amazing masseuse who made me feel like I was walking on cloud 9 after the most zen massage ever in the secluded woodland 'tree top' spa. She was so friendly and gave some really useful local tips about island life! Lovely hotel, wonderful staff, unbeatable views.

Loved this place. So relaxing and comfortable. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. Don't usually go back to places we have already visited, but will definitely make an exception here. Highly recommend!

An excellent smaller hotel well worth it's 4 star rating. There are three restaurants - all good. I particularly enjoyed the mexican one called Buho. Staff are kind and helpful. My only small negative is that my room was quite warm. I discovered that it was over one of the kitchens.
Andy C — Google review
To say my stay at the Fermain Valley Hotel was an eventful one is an understatement. Prior to our arrival the hotel contacted us to arrange airport pick ups and any other needs we had. We arranged an airport pickup and drop off, plus a drop off at a funeral on the second morning, the purpose of our visit. This all went according to plan, the driver was great, very helpful. We even got a lift into town on the first day as the buses were off due to school drop offs (3-4pm at School time the buses can apparently switch to being school buses without warning, download the bus app for live updates to check), we did manage to get a bus back. Room 45, in the upper garden building, was spacious, a view of the main road, which wasn't too noisy, the beds were comfortable, and so were the chairs, the tv was a good size, needing two remotes to operate due to the sky tv, didn't watch much tv, but it worked well when we did. There were ample plug sockets in various parts of the room. A reasonable amount of storage space for our short stay. The breakfast on the first morning was decent, the cooked breakfast was made freshly, the only disappointment was the black pudding was overcooked (literally my only complaint about the whole stay). The second morning saw a power outage across the section of the island, so cooked breakfast was off the menu, we accepted their apologies with the understanding that there really was nothing they could do about it and ate from the selection of cold options instead, there was plenty of choice. Fruits, cereals, breads, pastries, cold meats and cheeses (didn't try the last two options). I asked for a packet of hot chocolate at reception, they said they'd bring it to my room, when someone arrived ~5 minutes later, they had a full cup of hot chocolate powder on a tray, as a hot chocolate lover this was like a Christmas present to me (knowing it would only go to waste, I bagged it up and took what was left home with me). We went for a swim in the pool, we picked up our towels and headed down he stairs, the pool is small but you can get some lengths in in it, the changing room was equipped with a shower with shampoo and shower gel and a toilet. The highlight of the hotel is definitely the Valley, there are many walking routes to follow, one even takes you all the way into the town. This is not a hotel for the lesser mobile, as there are steep hills all around it, you could ask the hotel to take you down to the beach in the minibus, if it's available. Personally, I enjoyed the challenge of walking up and down the hill to the beach. All the staff were encountered were very friendly and helpful. The WiFi was good, accessible throughout the hotel, decent speed, obviously the Internet did go down during the power cut, but the hotel was prepared with print outs of everything they needed. It's the little things that stood out for me, the toiletries, including a razor, toothbrush and paste, flannels (which i did use), slippers, bathrobes, shampoo, shower gel, soap, etc. The puffins on the bed, were a nice touch. The island's airline magazine in the draw, the hotel's magazine on the table. The personal letter explaining everything on the desk. The options of teas and coffees and even milk type in the room, plus the biscuits. We picked this hotel because it was literally the only option with two available rooms, to attend a funeral of my uncle who lived on the island, at short notice (less than two weeks notice). Thankfully that only option turned out to be not only a very good decision, but just happened to be a favourite spot of my uncle's, which helped give comfort to his widowed wife, bringing back happy memories in a time of sadness. I don't normally say thank you to the hotel staff in my reviews, but they were so brilliant, I have to thank them for everything they did for us during our stay. My family really enjoyed our stay, in difficult circumstances, even the power cut on pur fonal day didn't dampen our feelings of gratitude towards the hotel.

I was recently in Guernsey staying with friends. We visited Fermain Valley Hotel on 21st August for coffee. The setting is magnificent and impressive The Hotel itself is salubrious and well maintained. However this where my positive comments end. Apart from the 3 of us, there were only 2 other customers outside and in the bar during our time there. We sat outside on the 2nd tier down after ordering our coffee at the bar. 40 minutes later we went to ask where our coffees were and were told that they had somehow been overlooked. We waited a further 10 minutes and when they arrived it was noted that one coffee had not been given a biscuit as had the other 2. More apologies and after another 10.mins by which time the coffee was going cold, the female waiter returned with a plate with another 3 biscuits (5 in all). The extra to serve as an apology. However it still left one of us without the additional peace offering biscuit. After deciding we would not stay for further drinks or lunch, I then went in to the bar to settle the bill . The young lady, waiter advised that due to the level of service they would not be adding the service charge of 12.5%. I told her that was the correct thing to do as the service was certainly poor. The receipt was £12.45 for the 3 coffees. Upon checking my bank account later in the day I was extremely cross to find that £14.01 had been taken in payment and the service charge had indeed been added. I am not being pedantic about paying an extra £1.56. My issue is about the extremely poor service, unacceptable time waiting just for coffee and then being told the service charge had been taken off when clearly it had not. Unfortunately I did not have an opportunity to return during my stay to speak to a manager but suffice to say, I would not return and nor would my resident friends or their family who live in Guernsey. Very disappointing.

Nestled on the outskirts of St Helier, the St Pierre Park Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort is a luxurious retreat set amidst 35 acres of stunning grounds and a 9-hole golf course. The family-friendly 4-star hotel offers an array of amenities including tennis courts, a mini-golf course, and an indoor pool. Guests can explore the lush gardens or unwind at the newly refurbished award-winning spa with its impressive facilities and picturesque views.
We have had a wonderful week at the hotel, it is clean and comfortable with great amenities but the standout is the service from the wonderful staff. We had our 10 month old with us and the staff could not do enough to entertain him, offer to make him what ever food he would like, even offering to make him a packed lunch! They went above and beyond to make us welcome and the one evening we had a very grumpy baby they were so understanding and helpful. The travel cot was set up nicely in the room with its own sheet and optional blanket. We had to ask for an additional towel for the baby but this was provided instantly. Having the fridge in the room was useful for keeping baby food. All in all a wonderful stay.

We recently stayed at the Hotel St Pierre Park Hotel in Guernsey and had a generally enjoyable experience. The location is excellent — just a pleasant 20-minute walk into St Peter’s — and the grounds are lovely, which was perfect for us and our dog, Pablo. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, and they absolutely adored Pablo, which made us feel really welcome. Breakfast was great, and a real bonus was that it could be delivered to the room at no extra charge. The restaurant itself was lovely, and while the room service was excellent — nothing was too much trouble — we did find the prices for food and drinks on the high side, especially considering it was more expensive than the Old Government House Hotel, which is arguably more exclusive. The room (we were in Room 150) was clean and functional, but as other reviews have mentioned, quite dated and £289 a night I was expecting the wow, but all I got was beige and more dreary beige , it was lacking any colour or personality — much like a higher-end Travelodge. Not terrible by any means, but not memorable either. Unfortunately, the room was right next to a corridor door frequently used by staff, and from about 6am onwards, we could hear it opening and closing, which wasn’t ideal — although of course, not the fault of the staff. During our stay, there were two school proms, and the hotel became quite rowdy with teenagers running around. While we accept that these events are part of hotel life, we were disappointed not to have been informed in advance — we later found out a notice had been left at reception, which we never saw as we didn’t go there. The spa and gym facilities are shared with local members, which does make the public areas, especially outside, feel busy at times. The decking area is small considering the size of the hotel, but it was clean and tidy. All in all, a good hotel with excellent service, a great breakfast, and a beautiful location — just a few drawbacks that future guests might want to be aware of.

Great stay. Room was really comfortable with private seating area outside the room's patio doors. Grounds and lake were a pleasure to walk around. The pool and leisure facilities were excellent. All the staff were friendly, approachable and very customer focused.

We only use the golf club. The driving range is great. The restaurant is brilliant for all 3 meals of the day. The crazy golf is good fun. Always enough parking although drop wheel chairs off at the door, the gravel won't be any fun.

What a beautifully hotel! The staff were excellent and we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and again the service was excellent. As a bonus our room had a hot tub on the balcony overlooking the lake. It's a shame we couldn't stay longer.

An Amazing Wedding Experience! Our Wedding Day at St Pierre Park was absolutely incredible and we are super thankful to the team at St Pierre Park for making it so special. Upon meeting Brownyn (Assistant Sales and Revenue Voucher) and beginning the process of planning our day, we felt everything ran super smoothly and that she really understood our vision for the day. We really appreciated Bronwyn’s helpful suggestions and thoughts and never felt that anything was too much trouble. She was so easy to contact via email and via phone, always replying promptly and helpfully, and we never felt rushed to make any decisions. We also appreciated how she liaised with the suppliers on our behalf, which took away a lot of stress. Bronwyn helped with many logistical elements, such as, helping to move our luggage between rooms, as well as re folding napkins and setting up décor. She also upgraded our Best Man’s room, free of charge. On the day itself, we felt everything ran smoothly from start to finish, due to Bronwyn’s excellent planning and the willingness of all the staff to assist us. We would particularly like to give thanks to Shaun who was always available to help with anything we needed. His friendly attitude and kindness, as well as the odd joke here and there, put us both at ease throughout the day. The food was absolutely incredible; all of our guests had such high praise to share with us. Each of the courses were served promptly and presented so beautifully, the standard was incredibly high and everything was delicious. All of the team were so friendly and helpful, particularly the lady managing service (apologies we didn't catch her name!). The evening buffet was also fantastic and we have, again, received many compliments from our guests. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day and can't thank Bronwyn enough for the important role she played in this. Her excellent communication made the process straight forward, and it felt like we were working with a good friend!

Nestled in the charming St. Peter Port, The Duke of Richmond Hotel is a stunning upscale retreat housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century building. With its striking interiors featuring black and white tiled floors and fabric-lined walls adorned with safari-themed art, this hotel exudes an air of sophistication that reflects the unique design style of Beatrice Tollman, the owner of Red Carnation Hotels.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 – Exceptional Service and Elegant Comfort Our experience at The Duke of Richmond Hotel was nothing short of excellent. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome—professional, attentive, and always helpful. The rooms were elegant, spotlessly clean, and full of thoughtful touches that made our stay extra comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with high-quality options and great service. A beautiful hotel in a lovely location—can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

Lovely hotel , friendly and efficient staff It's a bit of a walk up a sheepish hill but the view from the terrace was lovely and the area was quiet Only complaint is our ,"upgraded " room was just above the row of large flags on display on long poles above the hotel entrance. In the recent strong winds the flags rattled and flapped below our windows Not great when trying to sleep. Restaurant was good

The best of 4* hotels I’ve stayed in. The most wonderful Ary Deco theme is everywhere and very beautiful. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly also very efficient. I can’t say anything but great things about this hotel

A lovely stay for me and my friend in this hotel. We had a gorgeous room with a beautiful balcony view. Great service, reception was so helpful. A lovely breakfast with lots of options and again super helpful staff. No gym on site but a large one across the road. We didn’t get chance to use the pool but it looked lovely. Cocktails in the leopard bar are a must, Would reccommend!

I had the most amazing experience here. The art deco is beautiful, the staff so friendly and polite. Breakfast was lovely - such a variety of choice and locally sourced produce. A really charming place in an excellent location. Guernsey is also very beautiful.

Excellent hotel in Saint Peter Port. The Channel Islands and Guernsey have been on my bucket list to visit for years, so I was very excited to stay for two nights at the Duke of Richmond in a junior suite. The room was spacious with a large balcony (that we unfortunately did not access during our stay due to the weather) overlooking the Victoria Tower. We were greeted warmly at the hotel and stored our luggage before check in so we could do a day trip to Sark. The hotel is located close to Saint Peter Port but, as others have noted, it is an uphill walk from the main shops and restaurants. This wasn’t too bad - we estimated about 15 minutes up from the harbor and 10 minutes down. It was also a cheap taxi ride from the harbor when we were tired or in a time pinch. The hotel is very close to the Candie Gardens and museum, which are well worth a visit. The location is quiet and the hotel is well decorated. Unfortunately, disaster struck the second day when our return ferry to Saint Malo was cancelled due to anticipated weather the next day. We had to quickly amend our travel plans and depart a day earlier than expected. I fully expected to lose our paid for night at the Duke of Richmond since we were departing late in the day (we received the cancellation notice at noon when we were on the ferry to Herm). However, the hotel went above and beyond all expectations when we told them of our travel changes and refunded one night, only charging us a 20 pound late checkout fee. This was truly exceptional and excellent service. Being from the United States, the Channel Islands are a bit of a hike for us; however, if we ever go back, we will stay at the Duke of Richmond!

The property offers modern rooms and features an innovative Modern European dining experience at La Barbarie Restaurant. Guests can take advantage of the outdoor pool, terrace, and garden while enjoying easy access to cliff paths and popular attractions like Saints Bay and Icart Point.
Great location from a small beautiful valley and beach. Quiet residential area not far from anywhere. Really great rooms and facilities. Kept clean and immaculate - lovely garden and pool. What more could you want.

Can't fault the hotel . But be very wery of special offers as very misleading. Check if you get evening meal on first night Went on New Year's break and said Gala night (not) Nothing very boring no interaction from staff no atmosphere just an ordinary night only wished we had gone somewhere else More fun in a kids party.xx On a positive note Hotel lovely and food..x But won't go back on special offers or festive breaks as really nothing going on Unless you call balloons on floor and crackers on table New year.

Comfortable, spotlessly clean rooms Friendly and welcoming staff. Always efficient and helpful. Excellent food, beautifully presented. A little difficult to find down narrow Guernsey lanes, but this gives it character, and also… that’s what Google Maps is for.

We didn't stay here but were glad it was within bus or walking distance for dinner. We ate here twice, and the food was lovely both times. The April menu offered good choice and value. Service was also friendly, and we would certainly go back.
Paul C — Google review
We stayed at La Barbarie for a week at the beginning of August. The hotel has a lovely peaceful rural setting with a beautiful bay nearby and within walking distance. We stayed in a 'deluxe' room but we felt the room was dated and the balcony outside was full of cobwebs and rusty lights so wasn't very pleasant to sit on. The room inside was always very clean. We found that not all staff were friendly especially management, I suggest possible customer service training needed as no interaction with us (probably because we weren't regular hotel guests???) The hotel bill was very confusing and we felt misleading. Food was delicious but on the pricey side. Each morning the steps and outside surfaces were cleaned with a hosepipe and this made these areas very slippy and dangerous.

The property boasts breathtaking views over the ocean and provides access to nearby hiking trails. Guests can enjoy two restaurants serving fresh local seafood and meats, as well as a coffee shop with a sun terrace offering homemade treats and locally roasted coffee.
Hotel jerbourg is lovely for tea and cake as I have never stayed here I cannot comment on the rooms. It has an absolutely excellent selection of cakes and milkshakes and the food also looks good. It is expensive but it is what you get for top quality food and service

We only popped in for a drink and cake as we'd heard good things about the cakes from others. Glad we listened to the advice, the cakes were gorgeous. I had peppermint tea to drink in the end which was the best minty tea I've ever had. Staff lovely and toilets spotless.

Just back from 6 night stay. Quite simply the best Hotel experience I've ever had. The staff were just lovely. Hotel lounge, bar, restaurant so very relaxing and comfortable. Food well presented, tasty and generous portions. Background music brilliant. Room was large with gorgeous view and location terrific for coastal walking. Dessert Bar was impressive. No hesitation in recommending highly. Really hope to go back.

This hotel is quite possibly the best I’ve stayed in and I’ve travelled a lot. Staff friendly and helpful (especially Taylor). Food amazing and it doesn’t help there is a cake lounge with too many cakes to choose from. Room clean and comfortable. Close proximity for coastal walks and added bonus that there is a bus stop right outside. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to visit Guernsey. Thank you for making our staff so special.

Hotel Jerbourg is a gem perched on the cliffs of Guernsey, and it truly delivers on location. The panoramic sea views are breathtaking, especially at sunrise, and the surrounding walking trails make it perfect for nature lovers. It's just a short drive from St Peter port, so you get the best of both worlds: peace and quiet, with easy access to shops and restaurants. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well appointed, with a touch of elegance that makes it feel special without feeling over the top. The staff are friendly and professional, always ready to help with a smile. We especially loved the cliff top coffee shop and the Les trois isles restaurant, great food with a view to match. Whether you're visiting for a romantic getaway or a relaxing break, this place ticks all the boxes. Highly recommend booking a sea view room if you can, it's worth it.

We have just had the most lovely holiday at this little gem! I can't believe it only has a 3* rating, far better than thar. Why? 1. The setting ,on a beautiful headland with views across to nearby Sark and Herm, was superb. Beautiful well tended grounds and a lovely pool area. No other properties nearby so very peaceful. 2. The attentive ,friendy and professional staff, who obviously take great pride in their work. 3. The food! Absolutely gorgeous, from breakfast to dinner otherwise was spot on,fresh and delicious. The famous dessert bar is amazing, literally spoilt for choice. 4. Our Suite, the Belvoir Suite was awesome. It was previously the Directors own apartment. Big balcony overlooking the sea, large well appointed bathroom , separate bedroom, spacious separate lounge, with a table for 6 and a kitchenette with proper size fridge ,sink, microwave and crockery etc. 5. The bus stop right outside the front entrance takes you almost anywhere on the Island for.1.60! We have travelled extensively and this hotel not only lived up to.our expectations but exceeded it. No hesitation in recommending.

Cobo Bay Hotel & The Beach Terrace is a modern hotel located on the southwest coast of Guernsey, offering elegant rooms with many featuring sea views. Guests can enjoy beachfront dining and access to a sauna. The hotel's prime location provides easy access to Cobo Bay, one of the most popular beaches on the island known for its white sands and crystal-clear waters.
Perfect place to stay when in Guernsey. Had a nice, spaceous and very clean superior singleroom with everything you need for a stay. Great location at the beach. Nice breakfast, continental with possibility to order warm food. Outstanding food at the restaurant and very friendly and attentive staff. Would definitely recommend.
Nicole J — Google review
Great little hotel situated on the west coast of the island with one of the islands best beaches just across the road. Had a superior room with a partial sea view, good size room with a large king sized bed which was extremely comfortable. Bathroom decent size. No fridge or air conditioning in the rooms and you can’t use the apps on the smart TV. Breakfast was ok, they didn’t always get the order right but the staff overall were very friendly. I believe the hotel is about to begin a refurbishment which is needed. Whilst very nice it’s starting to look a bit dated in places.
Scott B — Google review
The staff at Cobo Bay were extremely kind. My booking was upgraded when I checked in, which was a nice surprise. I needed to be flexible with my dates, and Cobo Bay accommodated without any issue since I booked with them directly. The rooms were clean and the restaurant was very nice! Breakfast was fantastic every morning. The beds were a little firmer than I typically prefer, but the room itself was plenty big and the bathroom was also nice. One thing to note is that if you're planning on getting around Guernsey with public transit, you'll likely have to take the bus into St Peters Port first to get around to other places on the island. Or if you want to go on any tours, they'd all be leaving from the opposite side of the island. So it wasn't quite as convenient of a location for exploring the island without a car, but it's not impossible either. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel and at least 3 others within easy walking distance. If you're wanting a beach getaway, this is a great option since Cobo Bay is across the street from hotel. There's easy access to the beach. However, it's not a quiet location since the street is very busy and there's construction all around. So just be mindful of that as well. Eating on the terrace is nice, though, because there's a barrier between the restaurant and the street so it doesn't feel like you're right next to the traffic.

Just enjoyed a 4 night break over the balcony gig weekend with friends. Our first stay at Cobo Bay Hotel and we were so impressed with the incredible views, we were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed our morning swims. The hotel staff, front of house, housekeeping, bar staff, waiting staff....you all provided an absolutely superb and professional service, nothing was too much trouble and you were all so very friendly and welcoming. You are all a credit to the owner and hotel. The food was very good, freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches, very delicious. We were so impressed and enjoyed our stay so very much, that we have already booked again for next year. It was our friend's first trip to Guernsey and our stay at Cobo Bay Hotel, enhanced his first impressions of the island and all it has to offer. Thank you Cobo Bay and see you again next year.

An amazing small, family run boutique hotel. Location is perfect in every sense of the way. Right across the street from a gorgeous sandy beach. The staff at the hotel are all super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The room we had was small, but comfortable. We will opt for a sea view next time!

We had a lovely dining experience at Cobo bay hotel. We had a nice table by the window and even though it was wet and windy, we still had good views out to sea. The serving staff were all friendly, polite, and very efficient. The food was great - I had the monkfish char Sui which was lovely and perfectly portioned. Two others of our party got the trio of fish and chips which they really enjoyed. The tiramisu and cheesecake were also good. We’d definitely come back. There is lots on the menu so something to suit everyone, and the staff are great too. A top spot to have lunch/dinner.

Wow!! It exceeded our expectations. My Mum and Stepdad stayed here for their honeymoon back in 2017 and loved it and wanted to come back this year for another visit, my Mum was born in Guernsey and we have family here so us kids decided we wanted to come too. (Mum, Stepdad, my brother, stepbrother, my daughter and me) As we visited in the Summer holidays it wasnt cheap for us, but it was worth saving up for. £1540 for twin room with balcony over looking Cobo Bay Beach for 7 nights which included a free breakfast. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are beautiful, the balconies are so spacious and the views are stunning. The sunsets were something else 😍. All of the staff were so helpful and you are always greeted with a smile and a hello. The breakfasts were great, you could have anything from fresh fruit, cereal, croissants and toast to a full fry up. We ate dinner in the restaurant a few times and the food is delicious and beautifully presented. We all absolutely loved our stay at Cobo Bay Hotel and would 100% recommend it. We would come back in a heartbeat. (We will start saving again 😊)

This hotel probably has the best location on Guernsey, slap bang in the middle of Cobo Bay right next to the beach. Meals were exceptional, accommodation spot on. Ideal base to explore Guernsey, although Cobo Bay is by far the best place, especially the sunsets (see photos).

We eat in the restaurant every now and again. The service is variable and some of the dishes are better value than others. The children's burger especially is built with very little care. A chicken nugget size burger in a full size bun... I drink orange juice and lemonade when driving, I don't know what I was served, but I couldn't finish it. Grapefruit and tonic would be my guess. I'm not desperate to go back...

Booked a table for two 7pm Saturday 5th July 25. Arrived five minutes early. Shown to a wonderful table. Waiting Staff very polite and efficient. Ordered starters at 7.05.pm. 7.45pm after other table that came in after us were being served their mains, I approached the dinner reception to tell them that they had forgotten us. 7.55 pm our starter arrived and we were told we would not be charged. Cheesy Gatlic Bresd looked great but the crispy calamari was wet and soggy where they had rushed it and consequently it was very undercooked. We left, offered to pay for the two soft drinks. We were then too late to dine anywhere else. Unfortunately we will not return and would not recommend. Such a shame.

The Peninsula Hotel is a modern sea-view hotel located on a serene grassy peninsula in the peaceful parish of the Vale, Guernsey. Set within 5 acres of gardens and overlooking Grand Havre Bay, it offers spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking. The recently refurbished hotel features a large outdoor swimming pool and a children's pool for a relaxing break. The on-site restaurant serves great food with options for children as well.
The mattress was a little hard for my liking, and also not enough plug sockets. Other than that, the room was clean with a kettle and biscuits 🤗, I can't fault the staff they are extremely polite and can't do enough for you. The food we had was also very good.

We had a wonderful relaxing holiday in Guernsey and enjoyed staying at this hotel with its coastal location a few minutes walk to beaches. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the food in the restaurant from the buffet breakfast to dinner. We had a quiet room on the first floor at the back which had a good shower over the bath, a separate loo and was a good size. People have mentioned the shortage of sockets next to the bed, but the twin pair next to the kettle were fine for us to charge a laptop and our phones. The pool area looked lovely, and was enjoyed by families with children and we preferred to swim in the sea, a few minutes walk away at Rousse Pier where there is an excellent kiosk serving delicious made to order sandwiches (best BLT!) including crab at the weekend. We hired a car and could reach anywhere on the island in no more than about 20 minutes. Would certainly stay here again.

A great hotel we stayed 5 nights with a group, the rooms were clean tidy and comfortable, and the staff were professional friendly and very helpful especially receptionists who have a wealth of local knowledge, The pool is 20 degrees and clean as is the pool area. Lots of paths and tracks around the beach area and if you spot a flag and a hut you’ve found refreshments. The Puffin and Oyster is just across the road and serves great food.

Sitting here having a cocktail of the week in the most relaxing environment. Wedding party in, very busy, staff remained extremely professional and helpful at all times. I have just used the bathroom and it was spotless, housekeeping had obviously been in and cleaned. What a lovely surprise to find a place that really is on top of cleanliness.

A very pleasant hotel, fabulous surroundings and views, cracking staff. Minor criticisms are the lounge and foyer tend to be a bit chilly. The bedrooms lack sockets near the bed and have no USB charging.

The Peninsula Hotel is situated on a scenic north-coast peninsula (hence the name), with a sandy beach just steps away, making it fantastic for coastal wedding photography. I’ve shot weddings where we did group photos on the lawn with the sea in the distance, and even a few fun barefoot newlywed shots on the beach at Grand Havre Bay, a unique perk of this venue! The hotel’s function rooms are spacious and recently updated, opening onto the gardens, so there’s plenty of natural light and fresh air during a daytime reception. One thing I love about photographing events at The Peninsula is the expansive outdoor space: we can set up creative shots with the bridal party under palm trees or along the shoreline at sunset. Inside, the neutral decor and large windows mean photographing a wedding at The Peninsula Hotel yields bright, airy images. From a logistical standpoint, the ample parking and on-site rooms for guests make things easy for everyone. It’s a versatile venue where beachy informality meets polished service, great for both my photos and the guests’ experience.

We really enjoyed both breakfast and dinner; a special mention goes to Alejandro at the restaurant, who provided outstanding service and made us feel truly welcome.

Delightfully situated up the hill overlooking St Peter Port, you can see across to Herm and Sark. I arrived by 10.30am and was able to check in as my room ready. Even if I had not been able to check in I would have been able to use the facilities such as pool, sauna until my room was ready. Breakfast was lovely. A wide buffet selection, plus you are also able to order a variety of cooked items. The scrambled eggs are delicious. I spent a couple of hours in the pool and sauna - I hadn't realised how much I needed to rest. The staff are friendly helpful and just really lovely. A taxi back to the airport was booked there and then for me. I feel totally relaxed and refreshed. It's easy to walk into town from here; it is also really quiet so you can just chill. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. When I come back; this is where I will stay again. Thank you for a delightful break.

As a day visitor to St Peter Port Guernsey we just had to stop for lunch at the Hideaway Restaurant which is on the first floor. As a returning customer the food and service have always been of the highest order. On this occasion we chose their Hideaway burger which was huge and full of wholesome ingredients. Real meat, a large piece of bacon and a great covering of cheese. The service was excellent provided by Mark and Sahil who couldn't do enough for you. The outside terrace is a particular favourite spot of ours to eat when we manage to come to St Peter Port Thank you

What a fabulous place, we had a king room overlooking the garden The room has a fridge so you can if you require bring your own drinks. Frt basket on arrival including soft drinks replenished when used. Bed was really comfortable and the room was air conditioned, unusually it was very quiet when running easily controlled too. The bathroom was clean tidy not run down at all, with shampoo and body lotion in the shower tray. They provide wonderfully soft towels and the one thing most hotels miss out, a flannel! The breakfast is continental with a cooked option, all excellent. Service is quick, staff helpful and friendly without being over the top. The bar in the evening was well patronised if (in my opinion) a little expensive. The hotel is positioned on a hill, it's a "stiff" walk up. Car parking has easy access, lots of parking. They run a free minibus to St Peter Port several times a day and a round island trip also included. I could go on but it would all be excellent.

We had a wonderful weekend stay. Staff were friendly and accommodating, always smiling and happy to help. We had the breakfast and it was AMAZING. So well organised and delicious. The bed was hands down the most comfortable I've ever slept in at a hotel. Next time I visit Guernsey I would love to stay here again. Beautiful place. Really made my weekend special.

What an absolute delight of a hotel, lovely spotlessly clean. The staff are their biggest asset nothing is a bother, friendly and polite. I highly recommend the lobster Grill restaurant, again staff fantastic chef is spot on with his food. If you’re in Guernsey this is a must stay place.

My flight was cancelled and Sophia from Le Friquet hotel was so helpful and accommodating - perfect customer service. She organised my taxi early the next morning and organised an early breakfast for me given i would be leaving the hotel early. She also upgraded my room. The restaurant was delicious. Couldn’t recommend more!

Faultless. What a hotel should be. Super service from the staff. Amazing breakfast. Such good quality. Shame we were only staying for 1 night.

Four of us, all guys each had a great room, the service, the gardens, the restaurant for dinner and breakfast were just superb. The whole hotel was immaculate. Will return next year for sure. Well done Le Friquet.

We have now stayed here twice and already booked again for next year. We can’t tell the difference between this hotel and some of the 4 star hotels we have previously stated in. The Lobster and Grill restaurant is fantastic. Very good value for money. The staff are friendly and efficient. Ticks all our boxes for a lovely holiday on Guernsey.

The Duke Of Normandie Hotel is a high-end establishment located in an enviable town center location, just steps away from the main street of Saint-Pierre-Port. The hotel offers refined and modern quarters with up-to-date technology and super-comfy goose down bedding. Guests can enjoy traditional pub grub at the Pickled Pig boozer, which features a modern and quirky interior while serving old-school favorites like beer-battered fish and chips.
The staff were of the highest quality,so friendly and always had a smile and a great sense of humour ,nothing was too much trouble. The food was of the highest standard and my friend's were all very impressed. I had booked the hotel for a weekend to visit sporting events and the location was perfect.easy access to town and the seafront. The Pickled Pig is a cosy and very comfortable restaurant/pub and offers lovely local beer and a great selection of wines. I highly recommend this hotel and will book again on our return in the near future. Thankyou for making our visit to Guernsey so memorable

Location is excellent especially if you wish to catch the ferries to Herm and Sark. Our room was very good, cleaned daily, restocked well with tea and coffee etc. Staff are friendly, helpful and very present. Good value, very pleased with our stay. It is on a hill and parking can be a problem if you bring a car but we were OK. Our room was quiet. Very pleased with the restaurant. Being non dog was a big bonus, especially in the restaurant where you could eat in peace and quiet.

We spent a wonderful week here in a well appointed room which was immaculately cleaned and stocked every day. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. The breakfast was individually cooked and the choice was brilliant. Do try the Canadian pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and the Duke eggs benedict. We ate in the Pickled Pig 3 times and everything we had across three courses was first class great value for money. We shall return.

Lovely hotel. Surprised this is only graded 3 star - definitely deserves better! Rooms are comfortable and very well specced, breakfast is all you can ask for and the attached bar/restaurant (The Pickled Pig) is great for both drinks and food. Overall, great service and highly recommended.

Excellent location, lovely staff. Superb breakfast. Very reasonably priced considering location, just a few steps from the main shopping area. Room was tiny(compact double), bathroom spacious, but mould on ceiling in shower area off-putting.

Reasonable 3 star hotel in a central location in St Peter Port. The walls are a little thin as it’s an older building, lovely courtyard garden. Breakfast was very reasonable, hot options and cold buffet. One criticism, a shame the breakfast room was very dark with no windows, when there was a room next door with big windows over the courtyard.

It has been my third visit in guernsey first in December 2nd in february and this time this week. The hotel is really lovely and the staff are very nice. I would choose the Duke of normandie everytime I visit guernsey I had rebooked the hotel again for my next little break. The food is lovely and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. If I had the choice of giving more stars I would be more than happy to give more than 10 stars. A big thankyou to the staff for making my little break enjoyable and memorable.

Did not stay in hotel, but spent some very nice evenings in the bar. Food is amazing, they claim best pizzas on the Island, and they are not wrong. Calzone outstanding. Nestled in the heart of St. Peter Port, the Best Western Moores Central Hotel is a charming retreat housed in an elegant 18th-century building. This inviting hotel features three delightful restaurants and a cozy bar, along with a relaxing spa area for guests to unwind after exploring the local sights. Just steps away from Victor Hugo's house, where he penned parts of Les Misérables during his exile, this location offers easy access to fascinating cultural experiences and stunning views over Castle Cornet.
This is a very conveniently-placed hotel for the centre of St Peter Port and close to the harbour for ferries to other islands. The rooms are very comfortable and immaculately clean. The restaurants and cafés in the hotel are excellent, which can be a godsend off-season (we visited in early January, and there were very few options for eating). If you do prefer to eat out, the excellent Christie's restaurant is right across the road and that is open most of the time. Staff in the hotel were very pleasant and friendly.

This hotel is on a lovely street in a convenient location. The best part of this hotel, though, is the service. The front desk employees were wonderful, especially Valerie. When we had a problem with our room, she quickly moved us to another. I have nothing but praise for her and her colleagues.

Returned for a 5 day break at Moores Best Western. Very happy with our stay. Exceptionally friendly and obliging staff. Very nice hearty Breakfast, continental and cooked, cooked is cooked to order. Rooms well appointed. Liked the fresh milk in the rooms, rather than UHT milk in the plastic pots. Milk kept fresh in the in room fridges. Very convenient central location. Have no hesitation in recommending, a very pleasant experience.

A typically English-style hotel, somewhat dated, with carpets even on the stairs. The lounge on the first floor is stylish, and the restaurant and breakfast room are also very classic with a good atmosphere. The rooms are older, well-used, and clean. The breakfast buffet is plentiful. Eggs and bacon in all the typical variations can be ordered from the diligent waiter; they are excellent. The attached restaurant, JB Parkers, is also particularly recommended. See my separate reference. I can recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a typically English hotel experience, where the older ladies meet in the afternoon for cake and tea.
Adrian B — Google review
The room was incredibly hot. The air con did not work properly, so I had to sleep with the window, curtains and blinds open, which given the room overlooked the port, meant the room was lit up like a runway. To top it off, the pillows were terrible, the mattress not much better and all in all a terrible experience Won’t be staying here again, which is a shame as the staff were very nice and the location is great

This is a very nice hotel, stayed here for a long weekend in October whilst at a Masonic Meeting on the Saturday. There was plenty of free parking available at the front and rear of the hotel. The food and service in the restaurant was great and the staff are very friendly and amenableness. The facilities included a gym, swimming pool with hot tub, steam room and sauna. The room was spotlessly clean although it could have done with refurbishment, the decor was circa 1960‘s and some of the soft furnishings were threadbare.

Stay here last week with my brother for 4nights. Booked it through booking.com and it come with breakfast. We arrived early evening from the ferry. The hotel has two carparks so plenty of parking. There is some electric parking for 3 spaces to charge your car. The hotel was lovely and clean and modern it had a restaurant with a bar and then had another bar which I think they use functions also downstairs was a swimming pool, sauna Jacuzzi, and a small gym. We stayed in room 310 which was on the fifth floor but there is lifts. The room was spacious two single beds a wardrobe with a safe large telly and a large bathroom which consisted of a large shower. The room also had teas and coffee making facilities with biscuits. Also supplied in the bathroom was a shower gel shampoo and soap which was locally sourced by a company on the island and it’s made from seaweed. You can also buy this at the hotel. We stayed Monday night and left Friday morning breakfast was served between 7am-10am(weekend might be different). You would walk into restaurants where you was show to your table and offer tea or coffee. If you wanted coffee I think there was coffee pods with a machine but we had tea which big pots of fresh tea brought to your table. A menu was also given to you to choose from a cooked breakfast. You could help yourself to fresh orange, apple and tomato juice and also water. There was a toasting machine with white or brown bread(nice bloomer bread). There was also fruit and yoghurt and little jam and marmalade pot if you had toast. The staff would take your order for breakfast and this range from omelettes full cooked Guernsey breakfast(with a choice of scrambled fried or poached eggs) scrambled eggs with salmon eggs Benedict eggs Royal. And it was cooked to order(the breakfast ingredients was high quality.). There was plenty of staff in the restaurant and nothing was too much, very helpful.(one of the best breakfast for hotels that I’ve stayed in) Also the pool area was nice and clean I would say a 10metre pool with a nice steam room. Which we used every day(ask the receptionist every morning for fresh towels, she couldn’t be more helpful) It had a small gym area and there was a member of staff all the time we used it. The only downside is a changing rooms. It was a bit cramped for three or four of you in there. The pool area was free to guest and there was someone there cleaning every day we used it but the whole area was spotless. Have to say we would definitely use his hotel again it was well run with excellent staff excellent facilities. Your about 15minutes walk into town but there is buses that stop outside. Also I see in the lift a free mini bus offer to the guest to go to some points of interest on the island on certain days and times.

Travelling from Australia have had 4 nights in this beautiful appointed hotel. So many places to sit and relax on every floor. Massive gardens and peaceful. Room bright, big and spacious. Comfortable beds. Quiet if you keep the windows closed. A lot of traffic noise from main road at certain times. We had every meal in the evening in the dining area also breakfast included. The food was beautiful. The area called THE Oak bar and bistro.Staff excellent. The ladies on front reception happy to help and nothing to much trouble. Can highly recommend.

We've just had a 5 night stay here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rooms were very clean as was the en suite which had a decent shower. The food was very good with the all important coffee at breakfast being excellent. The pools were fabulous along with the jacuzzi and steam room. The out of town location was very good as there are some beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Very quiet at night, a thoroughly relaxing place to stay and we would return.

Lovely hotel, friendly service from everyone - especially the barman who was particularly personable. Good food, though on several occasions after ordering food we were told certain items were no longer available. Hotel clean, room adequate except the bed, a standard double, really not big enough for us - we are both quite tall. Bus stop directly outside hotel with a regular bus service. Would love to return if beds were bigger!

First time using this Hotel outside does need a little TLC Staff were excellent. The room we had was huge which was actually a family room just for the two of us In very good condition bedding was spotlessly clean bathroom had bath and shower also in excellent condition and very clean. Food in the restaurant was excellent, and very good portion sizes and reasonably priced , Hotel spar and pool facilities although we didn’t use them we heard from other guests that they were very good as well . So Would I recommend this hotel, most definitely, Would I return to this hotel again the answer is most definitely. And just to add onsite parking and Good bus routes into St Martin if you didn’t want to use your own transportation.

I spent 6 nights at La Villette Hotel as a single traveller. I was a little nervous, as had not booked 3* before, but had a good deal with Condor Ferries and pleasantly surprised. I received a friendly and helpful welcome each time at reception. Lift available re luggage. My room was compact, but I did not need any more space for 1 person. Crisp clean sheets, towels and comfortable bed. Good shower and shower room was spotless. Iron and ironing brd in room; laundry service available if needed. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and gym open at 6am, towel and bathrobe available in pool lounge area. Good facilities, locals have membership there too, but not crowded when I used. Food - tasty, generous portions. Attentive and friendly staff. I did not have the full eng breakfast - looked nice though. Evening meals - same generous portions and service. Bus outside No.81 - timetable in reception. Bus goes to terminus where you can catch others for onward journies - so you can get around island easy. Check timetable for last bus back to hotel on a Sunday, otherwise taxi good price. Back to hotel - yes it was a little dated and blind in corridor needed fixing, but would go back again - clean, friendly, good facilities. The two entrance signs could do with an update, but don't judge a book by its cover.

During our stay both my wife and I suffered respiratory and chesty cough issues - I was unable to sleep with the widow partially open (all it would open) and the expel-air on constantly in the en-suite. We had to cut our stay by 4 days from a 7 day booking. I have now found it could have been due to “ Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) refers to a situation where occupants of a building experience health problems or discomfort that appear to be linked to the time they spend in that building” I put this to the receptionist while there but nothing than a puzzled expression answered my complaints - I have check since to confirm these are all indicative of “Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) refers to a situation where occupants of a building experience health problems or discomfort that appear to be linked to the time they spend in that building” AVOID A STAY THERE.

Sausmarez Manor, located in Guernsey, is a centuries-old estate with a Queen Anne colonial facade that offers guided tours of the historic house. The manor encompasses various attractions such as flower gardens, a sculpture park, and a lake-side cafe. It also features the Happy Hollow 9-hole Pitch & Putt course and an Edwardian Tin & Coppersmiths. The Subtropical Gardens boast exotic species set in ancient woodland and are recommended by prestigious gardening publications.
I love visiting the gardens here and enjoy a Patois cream tea! I cannot speak highly enough of the cafe team especially, I believe one name is Bailey and he stands out a mile in his service, the way he speaks to customers is kind, informative and an absolute credit to the business. I also really enjoy the shop and the gentleman inside is so lovely, kind and friendly. The experience of visiting is so wholesome and I love it so very much- you transport to another world walking through the bamboo lined paths! Thank you! And Bailey you will make a fantastic business owner or manager one day I am sure, or whatever you go on to do. Thanks again!

We enjoyed the house tour. The gardens and sculpture trail are also worth walking round. Cafe food was worth the wait
Philip R — Google review
A lovely place, well worth a visit. The house tour is especially interesting. The paths are gravel and hilly in places so very tricky for wheelchair users. I can walk a little or we would have been stuck. The sculpture trail is not suitable for wheelchairs but my husband enjoyed it. We didn't see a sign but there is a disabled parking spot near the cafe. Food at the cafe is good.

Nice location, not as friendly as previous visits, the cafe appears to have been taken over by someone. Come here every year when visiting the island but won't be back.

The Manor isa very interesting place to visit. You can take a tour of the house, view the lovely gardens. There is a small 9 hole putting course and a much larger Pitch & Putt course. Onsite is a very good Copper, Brass and Tin Smith making various items. Finally is the excellent Tea Rooms with an array of cakes and snacks.

A beautiful Manor House, steeped in history. Take a tour of this family home, we were expertly led by Hilda who oozed enthusiasm throughout . Tours are at specific times so best check online, and turn up 15 mins before the tour begins. Learn the history of the Sau(s)marez family then take a walk around the amazing gardens. The grounds also house a copper workshop, cafe, art gallery and shop, miniature train for young ones and pitch and putt. Plenty of parking too if you're not arriving by bus, or foot.

The restaurant serves a really tasty cream tea. The craft shop has a good selection of items. Unfortunately, I couldn't visit the gardens as cash only or you phone a number to pay by card. Would recommend taking cash if one is visiting. I enjoyed the pond, watching the ducks, terrapins, and koi.

Beautiful gardens, well worth visiting whilst in Guernsey. One of the RHS partner gardens and available on the Gardeners World 2 for 1 card. A lot of work has gone into making the trail through the semi tropical garden with a sculpture trail along the way. I was very fortunate in that my sister organised a birthday lunch for me — and the Braye Beach turned out to be a great choice. I had an excellent steak salad and our guests all enjoyed their meals. In addition, the service — which had been lackluster at best in recent years — was both efficient and super-friendly, with smiles being amply in evidence. And topping it off was a wonderful cake made by chef Kendi (I hope I got her name right), that was both beautifully decorated and delicious. Thank you to her and all the staff for their efforts — they are truly appreciated.

We had Sunday lunch here yesterday. Firstly, the staff are very friendly and efficient. We asked to move our table so we could have a few of the bay, and this was done quickly and without any fuss. The chicken liver pate was lovely and the relish served with it was one of the best I've ever tasted. I had the roast beef which I would say was served "medium", which suited me. The Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes were not the best I've had, but still tasty. The dessert was well presented and very nice.

The hotel's outstanding service is highlighted by attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was lovely. The food excellent. Staff polite and helpful. I like that the restaurant/bar is frequented by locals, I also like that the Taproom is available to hire as I didn't notice any village halls in the area. It all has a great vibe, all the staff are happy and friendly. The food is tasty, hot and plentiful. We had a great 4 days on the island and will return.

Our visit was for lunch with friends. We opted to sit outside and we were treated to a beautiful spring afternoon with glorious sunshine. The food was delicious, the service spot on. Great atmosphere too.

Fleur du Jardin (affectionately known as “Le Fleur”) is a rustic country hotel in the Castel parish that exudes Guernsey charm. This venue is ideal for laid-back, rustic-themed weddings, think bunting, fairy lights, and lawn games on the grass. As a photographer, I enjoy the farmstead character of the place: the hotel is set in a converted granite barn with a thatched roof, and there are fields and country lanes all around. I’ve taken sweet bridal portraits by the old wooden boat feature and fun group photos in the courtyard. Inside, the restaurant’s low wooden beams and country decor create an intimate atmosphere and cozy backgrounds for coverage of the reception. Photographing a wedding at Fleur du Jardin often feels like a relaxed garden party, the staff are friendly, the food is tasty, and everyone tends to kick back and have a great time. If the couple loves a boho or country style, this venue provides an authentic, down-to-earth backdrop that still frames beautifully in pictures.

Excellent little hotel centrally located. On a regular bus route 61, if you have no car. Large carpark of you do, or take advantage of Guernsey Bike and Sea and get an electric bike delivered and picked up from the hotel. Service and staff were exceptional, breakfast was great, supplements for a few upgrades eg. Eggs benedict , but all in all a very very nice hotel. Highly recommend Guernsey as a whole....

It was a real treat to stay here - the staff, food and accommodation were all top tier. It’s a little bit out of the way of the main part of Guernsey so definitely handy to have a car BUT we didn’t and still managed to get around comfortably with buses and walking (but just worth bearing in mind as sometimes the buses were unpredictable). That said, we would definitely be back for food or a stay in a heartbeat.

The Blonde Hedgehog Hotel is a charming accommodation located in the heart of Alderney, offering 9 stylish rooms and suites along with a 3-bedroom cottage suitable for families. The hotel is formed of three lovingly restored historical buildings and provides a peaceful atmosphere. Its owner was inspired to open the hotel after landing there unexpectedly due to bad weather. Guests can enjoy authentic and tasty food at the on-site restaurant, served by friendly and competent staff.
Delicious food. Really hot the spot. Superb.

We thought that such a pretty little place would have great service and we stepped in for a late breakfast; but we were sadly mistaken. Very poor service; right from a cold welcome, to the food that took ages to get to our table. The head waitress was literally shoving us out of the place because she had an upcoming reservation for the table we were sitting at. The manager kept giving us icy stares. Extremely aggressive behaviour with well-meaning clients. When the people of Alderney seem so friendly in general, this kind of poor customer service at a well-reputed place is a pity.

A phenomenal experience across the board: accommodation (we stayed in the separate house, “The Old Corner House”, with two small children), the restaurant, and the staff. We tried pretty much every dish on the menu and each was better than the next; you must have the peanut parfait for dessert. Everyone was so accommodating, always asking if we need anything and offering local tips. Alderney is a spectacular destination and this is the place to call home while here!!

Stunning and flawless. We had our post-wedding meal of “Feast Over Fire” at the hotel’s beautiful Frette Farm. Tracey and all the staff could not have been more helpful, and all of the food was of the best quality and so delicious. Would highly recommend BH to anyone visiting Alderney, or for anyone looking to come to this beautiful island to get married.

Wow,yes indeed ,this is the place to go for a full English breakfast, in fact I went for breakfast on two separate occasions,I couldn't fault it ,except a little toast or fried bread would have been the icing on the cake for me. The Blonde Hedgehog certainly has a great deal going for it,beautiful ambience and very clean. The staff were very pleasant, cheerful, polite and very welcoming. I will certainly revisit this establishment on my return to this precious island. Highly recommended.

Beautiful execution, with all the finer details covered. Staff and management very welcoming, food and drinks of the highest order, my short rib of beef was possibly the most tender and delicious beef rib I have had ( and I have had a few!). The rooms are delightful and this would make a very special stay for any occasion.

Wow, a very welcome addition to accommodation, restaurant, bar etc to this beautiful island. I received a very warm welcome. The menu is varied and the décor and atmosphere is very relaxing. I have not seen the rooms yet, but judging by the bar, restaurant area, I'm sure they'll be to a very high standard.

The White House Hotel & Ship Restaurant is a charming country-style hotel located on its own car-free island off Guernsey. Surrounded by palm trees, the former country house offers bright rooms and cottages, a pool, and beautiful gardens where guests can enjoy croquet and afternoon tea. The hotel provides a sedate and laid-back atmosphere with extensive reception rooms for stormy days and an exquisite pool and lawn for summer evenings. The restaurant exudes old-fashioned formality while offering comfortable accommodations.
Absoloutley gorgeous and incredibly friendly staff who really helped us out in a pickle. Especially Alysia (sorry for spelling?!) and the guy who took us on a quadbike to Rossaire steps (sorry for forgetting your name but it was a pleasure talking to you!) Hope to return every year. Quiet and peaceful in the hotel and the island. Cooking was top notch as always and the bar staff brought what I want when I wanted it. All was good, but there was a standout incident at checkout where I was almost double charged for the room I’d paid for, and the bill seemed way too high until I corrected them. Hope they can get this sorted for next time.
Jackson P — Google review
Beautiful island, beautiful hotel. But rather pricey to stay in rather basic but clean rooms. The White House pool furniture is nice but the cushions are very worn and grubby, being white. But none of this will stop me staying for the 4th time. The staff are lovely, and the whole island clean, albeit devoid of animal life other than birds, insects and a few rabbits. Where are the cows gone? Why not a few chickens? Also, the island is not really open for business until the end of May. 😊

Herm is a stunningly beautiful island and I would urge anyone in the area to visit. Having not stayed in Herm for several years and with fond memories of our last stay, booked the White House for a weekend. We had lunch at the Shell Beach cafe and were pleasantly surprised as this is now much improved. Had a great light lunch and even a beer as the cafe is now licensed. A small confusion between table service and ordering from the counter resulted in having to join the long queue just to pay. Staff are great but more thought needs to be given to process. Sadly, we were slightly disappointed by the hotel. Our first impression on checking in was good - the staff are lovely. The room, whilst clean and appearing to have been painted recently, suffers a little from a dated look not at all like a 4-star the hotel purports to be. Views from the window are still amazing but no net curtains so people outside can see into the room unless the blackout curtains are drawn. We opted for the Ship Inn to eat as the Conservatory restaurant in the hotel seems a bit stuffy with its dress code. The Ship used to have a traditional small pub feel but now has been stripped back to a dull corporate boringness with a carpet more at home in a dull, second-rate conference centre. The menu was pricey and limited. The food was not good. Really, you can get a better meal at Premier Inn (a budget travel hotel) without the high prices and lack of choice. The staff, once again, were lovely but gave the impression of this being their first time working in hospitality. At breakfast, we waited 35 minutes after ordering only to discover they had lost our order. And having to make your own toast at a 4-star hotel? Once again, a systems and process/management issues. We eventually got our breakfast after 50 minutes. At checkout we had been charged extra random items around £60 more than we owed. No apology from the manager who was standing behind me when querying this. Overall, our stay did not live up to our fond memories and we were left with a feeling of disappointment and regret when thinking of how great this place could be with better management, especially since the managers appear to outnumber the very friendly staff.

Hotel was lovely and great e-mail communication from Grace, prior to check in, which was great. The breakfast was delicious, in the Conservatory, and we had the most beautiful views which were not spoiled by the rain! We stayed in The Mermaid Cottage, which was very welcoming, wonderfully big room with lovely teas, coffees, hot chocolates and little biscuits waiting for us! Staff were nice but I kind of felt a vibe that we weren't the clientele they wanted to attract- I could have been wrong, was just a feeling, but to my understanding, there is nowhere else to stay if you want an overnight on Herm, short of camping.

Had a staycation here at the end of June for two nights whilst in between sale of property. I had a ‘boutique’ room on the first floor - stated it was a king sized bed but clearly a double. Make sure if you are elderly or disabled to get an accessible room. Mine was up a flight of stairs and along three corridors. I was not made to feel welcome when I checked in. Asked for the payment immediately…. Had to carry suitcase and bags. The room was small. Had everything I needed as a single person but would not be comfortable staying any longer as a couple. Plenty of cupboard and drawer space but only a small stool to sit on. Shower room was good. Water, tea and coffee and kettle available. No fridge. I think these rooms are supposed to have been done up but mine had many scuff marks and chips in the furniture. I get the feeling that this hotel wants to be similar to other so called boutique places but has a long way to go to have a quality feel. It is only a three star so I guess this is a work in progress. Poor air con which rattled all night. Grounds are pleasant but the scruffy feel to the parking area and swimming pool would put me off from wanting to return. I paid £199 for two nights but only as I had a good discount from a travel site. I would jot have paid the full price of £355 as it is not worth it. Breakfast was good. I asked about where they got their sausages and bread from but the waitress was unable to tell me. All in all I would not recommend the hotel as somewhere to stay. Adequate but that was it. Funny thing is that I am local and have the opportunity to be able to tell people about my stay.

We spent a wonderful time at Hotel Le Pommier from Monday to Friday. The hotel is very quietly located and has a beautiful pool area. The well-maintained courtyard with seating invites you to enjoy a cream tea.The service staff, however, was very friendly. Unfortunately, during our stay, a wedding was being prepared there, so from Thursday morning onwards there was a lot of noise as a huge tent was set up in the courtyard. It was no longer possible to enjoy the view of the beautiful garden.

This was our second stay at La Pommier and we weren't disappointed. As previously the staff were pleasant and helpful and the rooms very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The breakfasts are a particularly highlight with plenty of choice. The location was good for us on a bus route but also with plenty of parking if you have a car. It's an easy walk to Cobo and the beach. Brilliant

Very cute hotel. Pleasant to work from (either from the room or downstairs). The pool area is nice, unfortunately the wifi does not go that far. The hotel is next to a bus station so you can go anywhere easily. Only point that could be improved: the food is okay but not amazing.

5 star service 🤩 We held our wedding party in the Harry Bound room recently and it was wonderful. From first contact with Jess to enquire to arranging our party was so stress less. This is one of the most lovely hotels I have ever stayed in. My friends had their wedding reception here and I stayed a couple of nights. Reception was fun and went really smoothly. Grounds of this hotel are beautiful with incredible sea views. Room was as described, compact, but the bed was big and comfy and the shower was good. Breakfast was really nice. Staff were very friendly, relaxed and helpful.

We spent three nights at the hotel to attend a wedding on site. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and offers excellent service. The views from the terrace are beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable. Although the room was a little warm, a fan was thoughtfully provided. The staff, however, are the true highlight of this hotel. Every single member of the team was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The chefs, in particular, did an outstanding job of catering for our large group, providing delicious food of consistently high quality. I would especially like to commend Eva. She managed our large family with such warmth and professionalism, always making us smile and laugh. We will certainly be back.

I would love to rate this hotel better, just for breakfast. But the rooms are really basic. The first room (compact double) we were shown to wasn’t big enough to open our suitcase! Manky bathroom. The only other option was a windowless room of sufficient size. Bath and shower was difficult, but basic housekeeping poor. Lack of toilet rolls; towels not fit for a charity shop (changed on request) and bath not cleaned two days running. If you are single and staying for work, it will be good value, especially for the location and breakfast. For a nice holiday or short break, probably not the best part of your Guernsey experience.

My family and I have just arrived home after staying here. The reason for the stay was a family wedding. Everyone absolutely loved the stay. 4 nights of bliss and the staff could not do any more for us. Eva and Franky were brilliant amongst others and we all just wanted to say thank you again.

Les Cotils is a versatile venue set in 12 acres of gardens on a hill overlooking St. Peter Port, and it’s truly a hidden gem for weddings and events. As a photographer, I can’t ask for much moree, the lawn at Les Cotils provides a panoramic view of the harbour and neighbouring islands (Herm, Jethou, Sark) which makes for epic group photos and romantic couple shots with the sea in the distance. The gardens are beautifully kept, with colorful flowers, mature trees, and plenty of space for outdoor ceremonies. Inside, Les Cotils has several function rooms; the largest hall is bright and simple, easily decorated to each couple’s taste, and can host a good number of guests. Wedding photography at Les Cotils benefits from this flexibility, we often have indoor space for formal moments like the first dance (with professional lighting easily set up) and then acres of outdoor space for natural candids and portraits. I’ve captured everything from elegant marquee receptions on the lawn to cozy winter weddings inside, and each time the staff’s genuine care and the venue’s tranquil atmosphere shine through. It’s a friendly, picturesque spot that showcases the best of Guernsey’s landscape and hospitality.

Dear Hotel Team, We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the Pandora – it was truly brilliant. We felt very comfortable, and the beautiful garden was perfect for relaxing. Our room was cleaned daily, and the breakfast service was very good. Due to the hot summer weather, however, the bedroom became quite warm during the day and the heat tended to remain inside at night.

Lovely hotel in the heart of St Peter Port. The service was great, for example helping to arrange a taxi. Restaurant good too; we ate once for dinner and had breakfast each morning. The garden is stunning with an array of different plants, many different colours and a view down to the sea. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
George O — Google review
Hotel is just a ten/fifteen minute walk from the port but is up a steep hill - there are taxis in town and rate varies from £7.00 to £10.00. The hotel operates a shuttle bus but needs to be prebooked as do taxis for going out and they seem to be in shortage as we found out one day but the walk down was fine 😂 ! The gardens at this hotel are really beautiful and well maintained with plenty of seating. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Great menu for bar and restaurant. The hotel has a maze of corridors and stairs and it can take a day or two to get your bearings ! The bar area has quite a modern feel but the lounges, corridors etc are more dated but they are very clean. Staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Onto the room - to cut a long story short, we ended up with the ‘best’ room in the hotel 😂 not what we originally booked but got through a mix up ! The view (room 20) was amazing with stunning views out to the port, castle and of course sea. The shower was great with loads of hot water. Plenty of tea/coffee etc The reason I put best in brackets is because I think this room could be really wow and the following is meant to be constructive : there is plenty of room for a super king size bed - please get rid of that small double ! Put in a little fridge. More shelving in the bathroom (there is just that tiny shelf above the sink ). While it is nice to provide biscuits with the tea/coffee etc there was only ever one packet and they were generic - is there nothing made on the island ? The ‘toiletries’ are a bit meh and we couldn’t read if it was shampoo or shower gel as the writing had worn away on the bottles. A welcome drink on arrival - not talking champagne, again just something made on the island. It’s those little things that transform what is already good to wow. We did have a lovely time and went round the island on the public bus and took a day trip to Sark. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel as it is really good.
Elaine M — Google review
I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience. The room I stayed in (Room 12) was extremely small, even for a single occupant, and the thin walls offered little to no soundproofing. The shower pressure was also very poor, which made it uncomfortable to use. Visitors should also be aware that Guernsey does not allow UK residents using (Giffgaff - O2) to access their EU data roaming allowance. Meaning that Google Maps was not available for navigation, which added unnecessary stress when trying to find the property. I also found the staff to be unfriendly and unhelpful, particularly when I asked for assistance arranging transport to the ferry terminal. At the time, I was under a great deal of stress about missing my ferry, and the lack of support contributed to an unfortunate situation in which I misplaced my iPhone 13. While I cannot say for certain what happened to my phone, the overall experience left me feeling very disappointed. Sadly, I will not be staying at the Pandora Hotel again and would not recommend it to others.

There is something rather comfortingly nostalgic about a hotel that sells postcards for 30p at reception and has real waiting staff at breakfast taking your order. Overall, the hotel is very pleasant. The heated pool was a lovely way to finish the day, and the beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. The decor is not modern by any standards, but it feels rather fitting for the hotel with such an interesting history. However, the addition of air-conditioning and some refurbishment of the windows may be of benefit as the room was rather too warm to sleep comfortably, and the noise from the street a little disturbing. The breakfast was acceptable, but not something that one is likely to write home about. The mushrooms were a little flaccid, and bacon could have been crisper.

Location was great and the hotel was nice and charming but a bit rough around the edges. The drain in the shower was so clogged it didn’t drain at all. The breakfast was a disappointment, particularly because of very poor service.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Grange Lodge Hotel during our week-long stay in peak July season! From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the hotel's charm and historical significance, being run by a family for generations. The spacious room was a delight, and the clean and well-maintained attire made us feel right at home. It was evident that they had put thought into accommodating longer stays for couples with ample spaces and furniture. The hospitality we received was second to none - the staff was incredibly welcoming and made us feel like at home. The clean and well-maintained pool provided a refreshing escape, adding to our delightful experience. The complimentary breakfast is a delight, which had an good selection of items to suit everyone's taste. We enjoyed our mornings in the scenic garden, taking in the picturesque surroundings. Throughout our stay, the room and cleaning service were excellent, ensuring we had a comfortable and hygienic environment to relax and enjoy our vacation. Overall they truly exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire team for creating such a memorable experience for us. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a perfect blend of history, comfort, and warm hospitality!

We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and very positive atmosphere created by the staff, who were all unfailingly cheerful and helpful. The bar offered good value lunch and dinner choices, breakfast was excellent too. The swimming pool was an unexpected delight. The location on a busy road into the town makes the rooms facing the road rather noisy and next time we will ask for a room at the back of the hotel, looking over the amazing garden.

This hotel is ideally located for visitors to the island. St Peters Port is within walking distance, and there is ample parking available. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with a nice amount of toiletries and tea and coffee to make life easier. Breakfast is AMAZING too!

Lovely hotel with great food and hard working staff providing a great service. But please note, there is no swimming pool or leisure facilities as they closed 2 years ago but agents still have not updated the brochures.

Stayed at last minute. Rooms dated holes in curtains towels thin hard. Carpet had a line around bed where it never gets moved or hoovered. Breakfast cheap ingredients square small sausage one piece sm bacon. Asked for two poached eggs told second one had a charge on it. No real choice of cooked breakfast. Sm full English. Mushrooms on toast. Scrambled on toast not what I expected for £160 per night. Oh and no fruit unless you wanted to peel a banana. Sorry won’t be staying again. Not that you will miss me.

Very happy with our stay here. We had a family room with shower over bath and very comfy beds. We slept so well. Staff were attentive, welcoming and happy to please. Breakfast was enjoyable with continental and cooked available. Location was close to airport but quiet enough. It's a well loved hotel with lots of charm. Would recommend.

I stayed here quite by accident, after Aurigny Airlines cancelled my flight to London. The staff was super accommodating and kind. It made the situation a little easier on me. They helped me out in every way possible and I’m so grateful to them. Price was a little high for me, but it was worth it, considering how many ways they helped me out.👍🏼 Food (lasagna) was good.

We loved our stay at the hotel! The staff was extremely friendly, they will go out of their way to help you. The rooms and the entire hotel were very clean, the beds are comfortable - we loved the slightly dated interior, it has its own charm and it’s all very well maintained. The breakfast is delicious, freshly and actually pretty well cooked! The man serving us there was super kind, thank you for a delicious cappuccino! I think the bad reviews are incredibly unfair, we would definitely come back.

We didn't stay here, but we ate there several times, the staff were wonderful and helpful. Great service. Good food and pleasant atmosphere.

Upon arriving I decided to have a pint beer. The beer was off or flat. It didn’t taste right which makes me think the barrels don’t get changed enough or the pipes cleaned through. The room was ok, WIFI was shocking. The sheets had a strange smell like they hadn’t been used but also hadn’t been changed for a while. Not the greatest experience I’m afraid. Only plus point is the staff are really nice and helpful.

We stayed here 3 nights in poor weather in march. It is comfortable and clean. The pool is fine and the gym is well equipped. The breakfast was perfect and we had dinner there one night in the Moroccan themed restaurant. Food was very good with good size portions. Great stay and would go back

I have lived within spitting distance for a quarter of a century and have eaten here far more than 100 times. The menu has always been imaginative and the service good. Today we found the menu to be boring and the portions small. The food was acceptable but no more. The service certainly was not acceptable, had to ask several times for the wine list then we were half way through the main course before a bottle arrived. At no time were we offered bread and after trying to attract attention for a quarter of an hour, I had to go to the till to get the bill. Now at home before dark, having a few slices of gache as still hungry.

Lovely hotel on the beautiful island of Guernsey. Has everything, bars, restaurant, health spa, and stunning sea views. It has recently been taken over from the last long term owners who have run hotel fantastically for many years. I hope the new management keep up the high standards.

The staff here are very friendly. The service is absolutely amazing. They have an outdoor swimming pool which is absolutely great. I love the spa. This is a really great place for a family holiday. The restaurant was really good food. All around and absolutely great place.

My husband and I held our wedding day and evening celebrations at this hotel. Veronika Varga the Function Manager was extremely professional and made sure every attention to detail was carried out. The hotel staff were great and stepped in to move chairs etc inside the hotel when rain put a stop to us holding the ceremony out on the lawns. The wedding suite was enormous and very clean and comfortable. Wedding food and service was superb and bar staff very accommodating throughout the whole event. We had numerous compliments from our guests about the whole event. We would high recommend to anyone that they book their wedding venue at La Grande Mare Hotel. Chantal and Martin Gallienne

La Grand Mare Restaurant is very good place to satisfy your appetite but on a busy day it can be rather noisy. The food is exceptionally delicious and the staff are kind, professional and attentive.

Saints Bay Hotel is a modern cliff-top hotel offering comfortable rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi, a heated pool, and a restaurant. The hotel provides easy access to the nearby Saints Bay beach, which can be enjoyed throughout the day regardless of tides. Guests have praised the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms with pleasant amenities, and delicious breakfast options. The location is ideal for coastal walks and exploring the quaint St Martin's parish.
We did the ‘dip and dine’ from 12-3pm with 3 kids. Was perfect, had the pool to ourselves, clean and warm water, and the food service was great. We will be going back to do the same next time we are here. Great location for walks nearby too as there are amazing views from the cliff paths just outside the front door.

I was there last week with my sisters to scatter our mum's ashes, we stayed overnight at Saints Bay Hotel. The rooms were very comfy and clean plus the shower was awesome too, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was great and the cliff top path round the corner is beautiful, amazing views all round. Would 100% recommend.

We had a great time here, all of the staff were very friendly and helpful 🤗 Lovely food and our rooms were very clean and comfortable ❤️ can't wait to come back next year xx

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The room was ever so slightly basic but perfectly fine and clean. The location of the hotel is great for walking the coastal path and the St Martin's parish is very quaint. Breakfast was good quality and well presented, and plenty of it too. Only minor comment that the bread on our second day was quite average. Otherwise, the hotel met all our needs for a long weekend break and we would definitely consider staying here again next time we're in Guernsey.
Matthew M — Google review
I can’t comment on the rooms because I only went for a dip and dine, but the staff were fantastic and so was the food. The pool was beautiful and clean.

Visited for a lunchtime company social event around the crystal clear heated pool area. You won't find better cooked meat on the island. The chef really knows his stuff! Definitely worth a visit for a dinner.

Nestled in the charming St. Martins, La Michele Hotel is a delightful retreat just a stone's throw from the beach and local attractions like Channel Islands and Sausmarez Manor. This inviting hotel features en suite rooms equipped with modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi, ensuring a comfortable stay. Guests can indulge in delicious meals at the on-site restaurant or unwind with drinks at the bar/lounge after enjoying recreational activities by the seasonal outdoor pool or relaxing in the garden terrace.
Another wonderful stay at this wonderful gem of a hotel. Situated in a quiet location convenient for main routes and buses for Island attractions. Fermaine bay short journey away. As previous visit last year Celeste was the perfect host. Friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Hotel is clean and rooms comfortable. Breakfast was excellent in choice and presentation. I would recommend to anyone wishing to have a pleasant memorable stay in Guernsey.

Terrible Stay I stayed at this hotel for 3 weeks because I was working in Guernsey. The hotel is old and the lady who runs it is dishonest. On some evenings when I wanted to dine at the hotel, she told me she was too busy, and she would inform me of this only at 7 pm. Her dinners are very light and not very good for £30. The worst part is that she made me change rooms in the middle of my stay to a much smaller room with a single bed and no shutters. Receiving such poor service despite being a good customer is truly unacceptable.
Joséphine D — Google review
I prepaid 1417 EUROS for two weeks and was asked to pay 70 more when I left. Host is not polite and refused to offer dinner after having initially accepted. I would not recommend this hotel if you want to feel welcomed.
Emmanuel D — Google review
Not suitable for professional stays. This is more a bed and breakfast than a proper hotel. No laundry available, breakfasts starting at 8:00am and extra charge at the end of the stay without justification
Delphine M — Google review
I had an awful experience at this hotel. The lady running it was unfriendly, and I was hit with significant extra charges at the end of my stay. The rooms are small, with single beds and very poor lighting, making them extremely dark and unpleasant.
Jajou D — Google review
Found this lovely hotel by chance after searching the Internet. The hotel is clean and quietly located but perfect as a convenient base for exploring the island. Our room was spacious nicely decorated and furnished well. The owners Dino and Celleste were perfect hosts and their staff were helpful and courteous. The breakfasts were very good and plentiful.

An absolute little gem stashed on one of the Channel Islands. Quaint, comfortable and reasonably priced with a breakfast that is literally made to order. The staff is wonderfully welcoming and accommodating. Your stay at La Michele Hotel will certainly enhance your Guernsey Island experience. Very highly recommended!

We were a group of 18 visiting the island from Dorset to do two days of Nordic walking and found this hotel online. Very impressed with the accommodation and the cleanliness of the rooms. The hosts Dino and Celeste were fantastic hosts and a good breakfast too. Yes I would recommend this place and hope to visit again.
