Nestled in the serene countryside, Creebridge House Hotel is a charming Scottish country house hotel. The property boasts airy rooms, a restaurant, and a cosy bar/brasserie. Set amidst three acres of picturesque gardens and woodland at the base of Kirroughtree forest, this traditional hotel offers an elegant and tranquil retreat.
We had an exceptional stay as a family of three. My little boy is only 11 months old and the staff were excellent and went above and beyond to accommodate us. They made us feel so welcome. Thank you to Kenny (bartender) and waiting staff and receptionists who were lovely with my little boy. They made my baby feel welcome in the restaurant and helped settle him which made our trip all that more enjoyable . Thankyou from two tired parents . Food was excellent. Service was excellent. En-suite Room was excellent. Hope to return in the future .

This hotel is not up to standards for 2025 and is dilapidated. I have no idea how this place has such a high rating. Our room looked like it needed to be renovated in the early 90s. The ventilation system in the kitchen could be heard all over the hotel and was causing our room to shake. I felt like I had sea legs walking around as most of the floorboards in the corridors and rooms are totally off level. To be quite honest, I have never seen anything like this place in the developed world. I understand that the hotel is in a historic building but these issues do not contribute to “character”. They are simply unacceptable given the room prices. The staff were most friendly and the free breakfast was a positive. We also liked the downstairs of the hotel which was quite authentic and nicely decorated in parts.

The hotel looks nice on arrival but is very dated and tired when inside. Our twin room was in desperate need of a revamp and a good deep clean. Average food in the restaurant but its reasonably cheap and good service. The barman has a very strange sense of humour and was quite rude and appeared to be quite aggressive at times , he is definitely not suited to a front of house role. The breakfast was good and the service staff where very pleasant and helpful.
Nik W — Google review
Traditional old style hotel. The building itself offers clues to its age with some slightly uneven floors, and a somewhat charming expedition up to your room. The staff are first class. The barman, who's name is Kenny, remembers everything, and would not accept a decent tip, "It's my job", he says. The rest of the staff are all excellent too, friendly and helpful. The food was really good, with a wide choice, and great value for money. This is not a production line experience, everything is individual and charming. Don't be in a hurry.

Nice hotel to stay and relax a couple of days, given its caste garden in the backyard to have tea or play games. Includes a playground for kids. Incorporated in a historic building, it offers a dinner place,a seperate breakfast room, a bar, cosy cocktail rooms with fire place, and also a cabinet store your bike. Also the personnel was a plus, very empathic. We had a very nice room with a window towards the garden.
Martin J — Google review
Very convenient location if you want to visit Galloway forest, glentrool dark sky and Wigtown. The property is really cute and staff are super welcoming and friendly. Rooms are good and very neat. However walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on outside and people walking by is very loud. Drinks in the bar is mediocre. Limited veg food options. It tasted good at first but after eating halfway I had to throw up really bad and my stomach was messed up for 2 days. I do not recommend eating here. Or maybe the non veg food is good. Cute reading area by fireplace downstairs. Free parking on premises. No lifts to take up your luggage.

I'd like to recommend this hotel and staff for a wonderful recent luncheon Motorrad Glasgow had a motorcycle ride out and we were fortunate to lunch here. We experienced exceptional food and service. Thanks again.
Caledonian B — Google review
We ate dinner here in June. We were shown to a table in a nicely decorated and comfortable dining area. Very ‘cheesy’ pop music didn’t enhance the atmosphere. Due to my food intolerances of onion and garlic, the only choices available to me (as so often when I eat out) were fish and chips or steak. I opted for the fish and chips which were very good, and the home made tartar sauce was a good accompaniment. My partner said that her lamb shank was ‘the best she had ever had’ – high praise indeed! Her crème brulée with home-made shortbread was outstandingly good as well. There is now such a widely available range of good low and zero alcohol drinks available, such as traditional apple ciders, Guinness zero, Erdinger and other drinks in this category, that an establishment at this level should offer more than one of those very sweet berry-flavoured ciders and Peroni zero. I stuck to water. The service was friendly. Overall, although they didn’t really meet my personal food, drink or music preferences, I’ll still give 5 stars for an offering most people will enjoy.

We have just stayed the night Dbb, a gift from family for our birthdays. We were given beautiful garden room, with a lovely touch of a celebratory plate with cake. Thank you staff. We visited the spa where we were met by lovely staff, and enjoyed our time there. Dinner was excellent, lovely choice, served by very friendly staff that made us feel so welcome. The grounds are immaculate , lovely to have a walk round. If your are looking for a relaxing night away, with lovely staff, spotlessly clean hotel with excellent food we would highly recommend Lochside Hotel and Spa.

Afternoon tea was delicious we all loved our Spa experience, our food in the restaurant was exceptional. We had a garden room perfect for 3/4 people very comfy beds. All staff friendly and professional, we will be back

I stay at this hotel and spa on a regular basis and I would never go anywhere else . I always feel I am home when I come here . Me and my friend stayed 5 times last year and I have already been once this year and planning to go a further two times . Everything is pricey but it is a million percent good value for money . The rooms , the staff , the food , the spa … NEVER disappoints and nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and that’s what you want when you come to relax !. Can’t wait to come back. Also Stunning venue and decent package prices for weddings . You won’t regret your experience ☺️❤️🥰

We stayed for two nights for a family wedding, and from start to finish the experience was absolutely faultless. The lodges and rooms were perfect — spacious, comfortable, and ideal for both relaxing and getting ready for the big day. Throughout our stay, we received countless compliments from our guests about the stunning setting, the hotel itself, the attentive and friendly staff, and the excellent food. Everything felt so well thought out, and it really made the whole occasion feel extra special. A particular highlight was the wedding co-ordinator, Amber, and her team. Their professionalism, organisation, and calm approach ensured that everything ran smoothly and that we could simply relax and enjoy the celebrations. They were first class and made a huge difference to the success of the day. Overall, it was a truly memorable experience, and we would have no hesitation in highly recommending this venue to anyone considering it for a wedding or a special occasion.

A Christmas gift for my wife and I. We did the "Heavenly Unwind" spa break. An hour in the spa, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi pool, then a treatment of your choice. I did a whole body massage. Relaxing time after the treatment with a smoothie drink and chocolate Strawberries. Dinner, overnight stay in the luxury room and breakfast the next morning. Thouroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were fantastic, all while a wedding was going on in the large venue room. We will return for more.

Here for afternoon tea. Everything was very fresh. Great selection of savouries and cakes, ample coffee or tea. Surroundings within the hotel are very nice, grounds are superb and views are great. One of the best afternoon teas we've ever had from anywhere we've went to.
Angus — Google review
Avoid restaurant. We ordered the steak and onion sandwich on sourdough for lunch, 2 plates were dumped in-front of us, one of us has dietary requirements but the waitress didn’t bother asking who’s was who’s, it was a pathetic cheap bit of steak on a breakfast bap with lettuce, no onions, no crispy onions absolutely not a described. No one came to check on how our food was and when the plates were taken away and not touched, there was nothing said either. We had hoped dinner would have been a better experience but I was wrong, starters were fine, although waiter tried to take them away when we were in the middle of eating, our drinks had brown out of date mint in them, mains were sat under a hot plate for a very long time as my basic pasta dish was stale and crispy and my partners chicken dish was dry and hard, and also had a hair in it. Again no one came over to check everything was okay and plates were returned full again, I explained to the waiter how disappointed we were, he cleared our drinks bill for us which was nice but we were never offered replacement food and both of us had hardly eaten all day. The group next to us also complained. This experience has completely put us off ever returning to the hotel and is simply not good enough.

Nestled in a secluded location with its own private beach, Knockinaam Lodge Hotel & Restaurant is a former hunting lodge that has hosted historical figures like Churchill and Eisenhower. The property offers cozy rooms with fireplaces and unspoiled views, set within 38 acres of lush grounds. Guests can enjoy the award-winning Michelin-star restaurant and unwind in the rustic lounge with pre-dinner drinks and canapes before savoring Chef Tony's daily changing 5-course dinner.
Another wonderful stay. We go for the food, but the rooms, service, location, staff, and peace and quiet, make Knockinaam Lodge a special place. Of particular note are the kitchen's willingness to adapt the tasting menu, open fires, cosy feel and warm welcome. Thank you all at Knockinaam Lodge!

A wonderful hotel in its own wee bay. There are only a few rooms, each individual, the one we were in had a beautiful view of the sea. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly, whilst offering great service. We had lovely breakfasts and wonderful evening meals cooked by a great chef and their team. We always ask ourselves, would we go there again? The answer is an emphatic yes!

We had a truly wonderful experience at Knockinaam Lodge. From the warm welcome by Sean to the superb high tea prepared by Craig, the Sous Chef, every moment felt special. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavor, and the hospitality was faultless throughout. The thoughtful parting gift was a touching gesture that summed up the care and attention shown by the whole team. Knockinaam Lodge is a gem — we will definitely return and recommend it to others without hesitation.

Staying in Shingle Lodge for a week. Spacious luxurious and cosy. Situated in gorgeous private bay with beach below sea cliffs. Views out to see and the Irish coast. Real special indulgent holiday. Not sampled delights of hotel yet which comes highly recommended.

An exceptional stay at Knockinaam Lodge. The Lodge is a real gem with all the character that you’d expect in a Scottish Lodge combined with modern amenities and luxury (and it’s own beach!) The staff were all very welcoming and helpful and the food was uniformly exquisite. A wonderful place to get away from it all and indulge yourself.

We had a glorious 3 night stay with our two teenage kids. Hotel was fab, the food was superb and the team at Knockinaam were wonderful. We did a lovely cliff top walk to Portpatrick and had a swim on the beach and enjoyed exploring the local area. Would definitely recommend.

Massive thanks to Callum and his team (Chris, Sean, Sophie et al) @ Knockinaam Lodge making this an unforgettable anniversary for us on Wed 17/09/2025. The seven course tasting menu was world class; a culinary masterpiece. We can’t recall a finer meal anywhere on the planet. And we’re grateful we added the wine flight; the Château Haut-Bailly 2008 Grand Vin de Graves was without doubt the most fabulous red we’ve ever tasted. There aren’t enough superlatives to reflect just how fabulous their food is.

Glenapp Castle, located between Stranraer and Girvan in Ballantrae, is an elegant hotel housed in a Scottish Baronial-style castle. The luxurious accommodation is set within 36 acres of stunning gardens and woodland dating back to 1870. Guests can enjoy posh quarters adorned with antique furniture, modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and picturesque views of the Ailsa Craig.
We were recently married at Glenapp Castle in the most intimate wedding for two, and it was truly the most magical experience we could have imagined. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely kind—nothing was too much trouble. They made us feel completely cared for and created a relaxed, joyful atmosphere that made the day feel effortless and special. Katie and Chanel organised our day to perfection and made the entire day stress free. Chanel was such a ray of sunshine and it was an honour to have her and John as our witnesses. One incredibly touching moment was seeing my bride’s bouquet for the first time - created by Cathy, the castle’s florist. It was so exquisitely beautiful it brought her to tears. Every flower, and detail was perfect, and it added an extra layer beauty to the day. The food was absolutely out of this world—beautifully presented, full of flavour, and worthy of the castle’s Michelin star. Every detail was thoughtfully executed, from the service to the stunning setting. The castle itself is breathtaking, steeped in history and charm, and the gardens are simply enchanting—a perfect backdrop for such a memorable day. We will treasure our time at Glenapp forever. If you’re looking for a romantic, elegant, and unforgettable experience, this is the place.

We had the absolute pleasure of enjoying lunch at Glenapp Castle, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were completely enchanted by the setting—this historic castle tucked away in the Scottish countryside feels like something straight out of a fairytale. The service was impeccable: warm, professional, and perfectly paced. We were made to feel welcome without it ever being overdone. Lunch was served in the most elegant setting, with stunning views over the gardens and out to the sea—it’s hard to imagine a more beautiful backdrop for a meal. As for the food, it was exceptional. Every course was carefully prepared, bursting with flavour and showcasing high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. The attention to detail, both in presentation and taste, was faultless. It felt refined but still generous and comforting. Whether you’re staying at the castle or just passing through for lunch like we were, Glenapp is absolutely worth the journey. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience. We left feeling genuinely special and can’t wait for the next opportunity to return (and will definitely be booking to stay)

During my grand tour of Europe, I had the pleasure of renting Glenapp Castle a majestic estate that truly embodied the essence of noble living. I arrived in style, riding my brand new Breakout Harley, which I proudly parked at the castle’s entrance. The contrast of modern power and medieval elegance made for an unforgettable arrival. The castle was everything one might imagine for a young noble prince dwelling on his ancestral lands. It was mid October, and the landscape was ablaze with autumn colors. I had hoped to embark on a big game hunt, adding a touch of sport to the regal experience. Furthermore, just behind the castle lies a splendid garden an oasis of tranquility and beauty. I had the pleasure of strolling through its winding paths and exploring the estate’s grounds, each corner more enchanting than the last. The crisp air and rustling leaves made it feel like walking through a living painting. The hospitality was exceptional every detail steeped in grace and grandeur. I genuinely felt like royalty throughout my stay. For anyone seeking a medieval escape during their English travels, I wholeheartedly recommend Glenapp Castle. It offers not just accommodation, but a taste of noble life.
DAVID — Google review
Staying at Glenapp Castle (for 1 week) was truly one of the most magical and memorable experiences of our lives. The castle itself looked like an absolute dream and food delicious, but what made the stay extraordinary was the people who went above and beyond to make it special. Benjamin, the main hotel manager, customized our stay with thoughtful touches that made us feel at home from arranging a popcorn and movie night to surprising us with pancakes at breakfast. Jen, the manager of Azalea, showed such heartfelt kindness when I came down with a cold during our trip. She made me a special tea from the garden that was both comforting and healing. It was such a beautiful, personal gesture. In the evenings, Zack was on duty and I had a delightful fireside conversation about the world events and Scottish history with him over tea while adjusting to the time zone. That quiet, warm exchange was one of those small but unforgettable moments that defined the stay. We also took a cooking class with Ian and learned how to make a soufflé. It was not only delicious but also so much fun — easily one of our favorite memories of the trip. As someone who has stayed at many Relais & Châteaux hotels around the world, I can confidently say that Glenapp ranks at the very top. In fact, it ties with only one other property as the best Relais & Châteaux experience I’ve ever had — a true testament to its quality, warmth, and excellence. The combination of the castle’s breathtaking beauty and the extraordinary staff made Glenapp feel like more than just a destination. It felt like an experience woven with care, warmth, and joy. We left with full hearts (I actually teared up a bit as I left), unforgettable memories, and every intention of returning. The photos don’t do it justice. We did a photo shoot on the property because it was so nice and needed someone with a better bigger camera than a phone - Robert from the castle was the photographer!

We were a party of eight friends on parking our cars were greeted by a member of staff . Who welcomed us as we exited the cars.all enquiries were answered with no hesitation Escorted into the castle we were introduced to the elaborate areas for drinks and nibbles prior to or fantastic tables set out for our lunch. All staff no matter how long they had been employed were very courteous to everyone. Explanation of the dishes placed Infront you were described to perfection..Top class service to every member of Staff

The hotel is absolutely phenomenal. The staff is what makes it. They are so friendly and willing to accommodate to make your stay absolutely perfect. The building is beautiful, the rooms well appointed, and the grounds are lovely. Recently the glass house was turned into a restaurant- the Azalea. While the food in the castle was delicious, I enjoyed dining at The Azalea the most. Again - it's the staff thay makes this place so special. We came to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and it was definitely worth it.

Lovely spot, we visited because of a garden recommendation, but the house/hotel is also amazing. Front of house staff incredibly accommodating, and a lovely short-ish dog walk around the lovely garden as well. Saw some deer, too. Cannot rate the rooms as we didn't stay, but the drawing room for tea was very stylish and cosy.

The North West Castle Hotel, located in Stranraer, is a 19th-century property that offers classic rooms and a unique experience. Once the home of Arctic explorer Sir John Ross, the hotel still retains its old-world charm. Guests can enjoy comfortable rooms with the option for sea views and excellent service. The hotel is famous for being the first in the world to have an indoor curling ice rink.
A wonderfully old fashioned and sturdy Scottish hotel. It really is like a castle inside – labyrinthine with rooms leading off corridors and mysterious liminal spaces. You could say it's in need for an update, and maybe it is, but when they do, I hope they maintain the Scottish Castle type feel and atmosphere. Traditional with a contemporary twist. There was the amazing Alpine Bar that overlooked an actual curling rink. It was fascinating to watch people playing it. Our room was very spacious. We had a twin accessible room, room 61, and it was nearly perfect. It was right by the elevator. The bathroom was great, with a wheeled shower chair, a huge sink – as big as a bath, and a very powerful shower. In our experience, accessible bathrooms rarely have bath chairs that can be moved around. We usually have to drag in the desk or accent chair for my partner to be able to sit at the sink. So the shower chair was a big plus. There was plenty of room for my partner's powered wheelchair in the room. One niggle was the door was tricky to open and could be fitted with a motor for automatic operation. The doorway was on the narrow side too. One other niggle of mine is the lack of coat hooks – as always, in hotel rooms, there was plenty of room for some. Our room had a lovely view of Loch Ryan. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar staff could do with reminding to serve customers in order of arrival and to acknowledge customers who are waiting to be served. We had a meal in the restaurant on our first night and it was excellent. All of us were very happy with our meals and service. The breakfasts were excellent too. Very tasty and filling. The coffee was amazing – way better than it had to be. It's a beautiful hotel and wonderfully dated in an appreciably pleasing way. There are some careworn areas that could do with some attention but nothing major. The Ross Lounge is an especially gorgeous set of rooms – part of the original house. We can't wait to stay again.

We came to Stranraer for just one night, and this hotel was our pick. On arrival, it genuinely looked like a quaint little castle - even more charming than the pictures suggested. Our room exceeded expectations, complete with a lovely view over what I think was the Stranraer port or perhaps the sea. The amenities were far more than we expected: a fun game room, a pool, a gym, plenty to keep you entertained. I actually found myself regretting that we were only staying for one night. The hotel seems to be a hub for special occasions like wedding receptions; during our stay, there was a wedding anniversary being celebrated. While you could hear the festivities from certain areas, it was never loud enough to disturb us in our room. Convenience was another plus, there's a Greggs right next door for a quick coffee and sausage roll in the morning. Parking is plentiful in the hotel, too. For me, the highlight was the bar lounge area. We stayed there until midnight, enjoying great drinks and great service from the friendly bartenders. All in all, this hotel was a delightful find that I would highly recommend if you find yourself in Stranraer!

We stayed over night to catch a local ferry. We found it great value, clean, slightly dated but they are having a refurbishment. Food and drinks were reasonably priced and great breakfast included. Great location for exploring the area. I would stay here again.

Lovely hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We've stayed a number of times now - it's the perfect location for a stop-off when getting the Cairnryan ferry to/from Belfast. Our kids love exploring what is a grand old hotel - particularly the large games room on the bottom floor. We tried the breakfast this time around - again really good - buffet available, but also cooked options too.

Stayed over after coming off the ferry from Belfast. Our room was large and had a nice seaview. Staff were friendly and had a decent sized pool, jacuzzi, sauna and a small gym. Decor around is dated but everything was pretty clean throughout and cannot fault the cost of the stay. Good job

It is a little aged but renovations are being carried out. The staff were efficient and friendly. The dinner we had was really good. We'd seen some less than complimentary reviews of the restaurant but we were not disappointed with the food or service.
MLC4STi S — Google review
Lovely hotel, definitely can see the grandeur it used to hold. The bedrooms do need updating slightly with the decor but I believe this is planned for the coming weeks. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. The service was ok. My husband is a coeliac and asked to see a gluten free menu which was provided however when his meal arrived there was a Yorkshire pudding on the plate. He asked if the Yorkshire pudding was gluten free, the waiting on staff checked and advised not. It was removed from his plate. A similar situation arose at breakfast where my husband asked what from the breakfast menu was gluten free to be told to order what he wanted and the waiting on staff would check in the kitchen if he could have it when the order was placed. It did feel a little as though this allergy was not something the staff knew anything about...or that our food ticket for the evening wasn't marked as gluten free which could create an issue for some guests. The food itself was delicious. It was a lovely stay.

Arrived here to find out the gym was closed for the 2 days I was staying (male guests and members). Asked the manager if it was possible to get a local gym membership to compensate (as it was advertised with gym and spa) and was told no Once I got to my room I found a very dated (look and smell) room with 2 old beds. I don’t usually check mattresses but in this case I did (and I’m glad I did). I found a very old and stained brown mattress waiting for me underneath (photo attached). The reception staff changed my room for me and to their credit they were very helpful The second room had slightly better beds, but still all furniture and beds are very old and the smell was musty and unpleasant. Stained carpets are complementary

Stayed for one night passing through from Pembrokeshire to Scotland. Absolutely superb hotel, from the comfy bed, and pleasant spacious room, with extra complimentary bits and bobs in the bathroom and fully stocked tea tray. The evening meal was delicious . Breakfast was plentiful, with lots of variety to cater for all requirements. Wonderful staff and great service Would love to return to this hotel.

I have spent the last 2 nights at the Dryfesdale Hotel and not one thing would I change. Food was hot and yummy.I even went back for more haggis. The room and the views we're perfect. I would certainly recommend it and would definitely go back. Try it I'm certain you won't be disappointed.

We had a meal here after our wedding. The food was 5 star, everyone said how lovely their meal was & the service was great from Erin. The table was beautifully decorated. The manager was a little touch short with our guests but was maybe under stress. The bedroom was a bit tired & the bed not the comfiest. We asked for room service as it was advertised in the guest book to be told they don't do it. Great if you're a dog owner as they are a dog friendly hotel.

Booked into this hotel but on arrival told full and sent 3miles down the road to another one. Assumption was I was stupid and this had been clearly communicated and it had definitely not been.

We were there for a friend's wedding. Such a beautiful spot and great scenery. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. The rooms were clean and well equipped, iron, ironing board and hairdryer. Also a fan if we were too warm. The only criticism I have is that there was no bath mat in the bath so I didn't feel safe getting out of the shower. Apart from that I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed here for a wedding. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was nice. Service overall was good. However I’ll be honest that the rooms are not great. They are clean, but they are very outdated. £130 per night for the room we had was not acceptable. Had it not been a wedding, I would have considered making a complaint or leaving. The bed was very uncomfortable and the decor was reminiscent of an old persons home. I didn’t enjoy my stay for those reasons. They do have refurbished rooms at about £50 extra per night but at that price I wouldn’t consider staying. Maybe look for premier inns or another brand nearby.

Had my wedding here (15/07) Fantastic customer service, nothing was too much trouble. Food was next level. Rooms were spacious and clean, the views from the patio doors at the back of the rooms of the fields with cows, rabbits ect was wonderful. Everything went smoothly thanks to the staff making sure everything was perfect Special thanks to the hotel manager for the most polite front of house ive ever experienced! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Nestled in a historic setting near the stunning Solway Coast, Cavens Country House is the perfect retreat for those seeking a romantic getaway or a relaxing weekend escape. This charming boutique hotel boasts spacious and elegantly designed bedrooms, each adorned with large sash windows and tasteful furnishings that exude comfort and style. The on-site Cavens Restaurant offers an ever-evolving menu featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, showcasing the best of Scottish cuisine.
If you're sick of 'cookie cutter' hotel rooms (you know that 'am I in New York or Timbuktu?' feeling?), a visit to Cavens is a refreshing change. Think traditional British country house break as guests of the family rather than generic decor and food. The owners, Angus and Jane, couldn't be more welcoming, and went above and beyond to accommodate our additional needs around mobility and breakfast. They have a small staff team of local young people who were all absolutely lovely and very professional. Despite its large size, the house feels cosy and friendly. There's a huge, bright lounge with big squishy chairs and sofas, a sideboard lined with every drink imaginable, and an area with some toys plus a selection of jigsaws and board games. Walk through a door at one end of the lounge and you're in the library, another spacious room with comfy seating. Decorated in darker colours, it's full of hundreds of books covering every topic imaginable. (We chose ornithology and looked up the birds we'd spotted in the grounds.) Through an archway at the other end of the lounge is the large dining room, with tables placed a welcome distance apart. You never feel rushed or crushed at Cavens. Our room on the ground floor was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, with French doors looking out across the lawn and beyond. We watched rabbits, squirrels and lots of different birds. Even the gentle hum of the robotic lawnmowers was relaxing! The food is beautiful. You don't get to choose from a massive menu (you're staying with friends, remember?), but everything is freshly made using good ingredients cooked to perfection. All in all, Cavens House is an absolute gem.
Karen L — Google review
If you're looking for the most peaceful and serene surroundings whilst staying in the most thoughtful and relaxing hotel then just book now. Cavens is a haven, with the most dedicated and kind owner, Angus, treating you like royalty. Having been round the world I've never stayed in such a place that brings a true "home from home" feeling and pure calmness. We were welcomed at the door by Angus even before we got out the car and once taken to our beautiful large double room, with own sunroom overlooking the garden and grounds, were treated with tea and cake on the lawn. We spent a good hour there not really wanting to move given the tranquillity of the surroundings, teaming with birdlife, red squirrels, deer and the like. Move we must as dinner is always included. We were overwhelmed with the choice of pre-dinner drinks from the bar, expertly made by Angus' long-term assistant, Katie. Whilst seated in the lounge, adorned with paintings and books and memorabilia collected over the years, we were offered the menu for the evening: Asparagus with Poached Egg and Rib-eye with veg, all cooked by Angus. It was a treat, perfectly cooked medium-rare, and more than ample portions. The homemade raspberry sorbet accompanying the chocolate cake was world class. I've never tasted anything so sublime. I suggested he should sell it! We retreated to the fire place for a whisky nightcap thereafter before heading to the most comfortable sleep, awaking to a glorious day having coffee in the sunroom before breakfast. And breakfast was no less impressive than dinner the night before. Another triumph accomplished with local granola, blueberries and yoghurt, followed by a full Scottish with more wonderful raspberry flavours in the jam to accompany the toast, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. We should have booked longer than a night but we’ll be back, of that I have no doubt. It was a privilege to stay in such a wonderfully warmly inviting house, and will always cherish meeting Angus and the way we were looked after. In this weary old world, everyone needs to experience just what it's like to enjoy the peace that Cavens brings. We wish nothing but success and happiness for Angus, and we'll see you soon again. In fact, we'll book for our anniversary now!

A hidden gem in the Dumfries countryside. Fabulous location close to a sandy beach and set in beautiful gardens. Angus the owner could not have made us feel more welcome.Full of antiques and paintings this boutique hotel is comfortable and welcoming. The food cooked by Angus was delicious. Definitely worth a visit and stay. Ideal for couples or friends wanting to get away from it all.

What a find! We stayed for a couple of nights on our journey north. Angus was a marvelous and welcoming host. One appreciated the lovely country house feel with extremely well and thoughtfully presented public room and bedrooms. The wine list was an absolutely joy and such fun seeing the cellar and the pleasure of choosing some excellent and well priced wines to match the excellent food. We will definitely return.

An excellent country house hotel, run by the owners who made us very welcome and comfortable. Angus is the chef, and his dinners change nightly, and are delicious. Not cheap, but worth it.

This was the perfect start to our Trip around Scotland. It’s a traditional lodge sitting in large grounds - all very well kept. The service was first rate - the owner and his team making us feel very welcome. The evening meal and breakfast were first class, as was the room. I would highly recommend (and I don’t say that very often).
Steve C — Google review
Only one star because we never actually got to stay in the end! Having found this as one of Alister Sawday's recommended dog-friendly hotels we called to enquire about bringing a couple of small, well-behaved dogs with us while making an on-line booking. Apparently dog's cant be left unattended in the room, which is fair enough, but neither are they allowed in any of the public areas, and there is nowhere to be able to dine with them - they would need to be put out in the car while we ate. Additionally we were told they can only be exercised on the driveway outside the hotel and not in the grounds. Oh, and by the way, none of the supposedly 'dog friendly' rooms are located on the ground floor. We decided on balance that this was not quite as dog friendly as we were hoping or looking for and decided to book alternative accommodation, which again quite sensibly doesn't want people leaving dogs unattended in the dog friendly room (which are on the ground floor) so does cater for people to dine separately with them, allows them into certain areas such as the bar and conservatory, and to be exercised in the grounds.

Fantastic hotel that perhaps is one need of a bit of updating in some areas, as they look worn and tired, but considering its popularity wear and tear is going to take its toll. Rooms were lovey and cosy with a comfy bed, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathroom. The carpet could’ve down with being replaced though, the hairdryer wasn’t that powerful and neither was the shower, sadly, but these are the only things that let it down, hence I’ve taken 1 star off, because these little things could be quickly remedied and bring the hotel up to a much higher standard. Fantastic bar on site and catering facilities.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were supposed to be in a luxury room (24). Carpet was stained and disgusting looking. Phone didn't work couldn't call reception! Broken drawer, chipped sink and silicone needed replaced in bathroom. We were given the option of a family room which was as bad as original room. Then we were offered an executive room, which from website says spacious with king bed and luxury toiletries! Afraid not 206 very small claustrophobic room, only double bed and no luxury toiletries! Since returning home I have emailed hotel, no reply! Restaurant was ok, breakfast and dinner average for a four star hotel. They even tried to charge us for food we did not have.! Probably they concentrate on their wedding packages and don't really care about other guests.

My wife and I eloped to Gretna Hall Hotel and we had a fantastic time. They made our day extra special. From the moment we arrived the staff went the extra mile. We splashed out on the platinum wedding package and it was money well spent. The ceremony was made to feel personal rather than a conveyer belt, the food was amazing and the suite was top class. I would highly recommend Gretna Hall even if it’s just to stay over.

We arrived at gretna green Hall the day before.. in preparation for our vow renewal ceremony at the old forge.. we chose to stay in the Queensbury Clayton room.. which was a gorgeous wedding suite . The wrap around service gretna green hotel provided us was exceptional.. no stone unturned. Everything went smoothly.. Marita our celebrant had everything under control.. she was so lovely.. conducted the ceremony with ease and love! Craig our piper delivered us to the forge in style..like his traditional Scottish uniform..and played beautifully and took part fully.. during and after. Ray our photographer expertly positioned us for many photo opportunities inside and outside..and we have just received the proofs via email...absolutely amazing! We're so pleased with the results. On returning to the hotel..we enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal with prosecco..and mingled with many of the other guests who got married on that day too.. an incredible 2 days we will never forget .. thanks to everyone! Love Janet and Steve Snow xx

Unfortunately I was only thefe for a night but will definitely visit again. Thanks.

Really friendly staff. And went beyond making you feel comfortable..... what i would say is ditch the red carpet leading up the step to the front reception...its was way past its best. It takes away the look of the hotel... also get rid of the rubbish near the hotel. Where the bride and groom have to pass.. its really needs a makeover on the outside...

The hotel is in a lovely location, making it convenient for exploring the town center and surrounding areas.
Very impressed with this hotel. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent, especially the breakfast, the restaurant staff were attentive and went the extra mile. The biggest plus was the cleanliness of the hotel, the rooms and communal areas. We would definitely stay here again.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and would book it again without hesitation.

Stunning location, great breakfast. Decor very tired. Beautiful old building but the Hotel rooms are in a 30+(?)year old flat roofed extension round the back which needs some TLC now. Which made the rooms a little expensive. All staff great and friendly. Random stunning location. No idea about the history of Dumfries, but loads of Runners and dog walkers about in the park where the hotel sits. Didn't have time to explore as used as a pit stop for Somerset to Highlands drive

We first came here when this was called The Aston hotel and loved building and the history of the building and grounds. We went back for a weekend last week after 10 years and we were slightly skeptical with it now being a holiday Inn. Check in was quick and efficient and evening meal booked without a problem. The food was delicious on both nights and John from the restaurant is an absolute credit to the hotel. Nothing was too much bother for him and he made us feel ever so welcome. Breakfast was plentiful with lots on offer. The rooms are.pretty much the same as when we last visited, but still comfortable and everything there that you need to enjoy your stay. Also the other waiter/barman called Savio (i think) was a pleasure and loved his upbeat nature. We had a lovely relaxing weekend after some health issues and would certainly return. We will be back. Again thanks John, you are worth your weight in gold.

Edge of town location sited on a university campus. At least 10 minute drive to Dumfries centre. Very quiet area. Food is good in the restaurant and prices as you would expect. Parking is great. Usual IHG cleanliness and care.

Lovely hotel, staff are very pleasant and helpful. Food was excellent and a nice range of wines, beers and non alcholic drinks. John was front of house the weekend we were visiting and he is a real credit to the hotel, made us feel very welcome and accommodated us earlier than we had booked for dinner and had also reserved a table for us for next night without having to ask, room was clean and well maintained, some parts of the hotel are going through a bit of refurbishment due to wear and tear but nothing massive that would put you from staying. Breakfast is buffet style, lots to choose from the continental and cooked breakfast was great, fantastic stay for us,

The Cairndale Hotel & Spa is a Victorian hotel that has been recently refurbished, offering traditional rooms with free Wi-Fi and breakfast. It's located near the Globe Inn, making it an ideal spot for exploring the region's food and drink offerings. The hotel provides superb rest and relaxation packages, including access to its luxurious spa. Guests can enjoy ample parking, pleasant decor, friendly staff, and good quality food at reasonable prices.
It was very central and easy to get to. The rooms were very clean and our en suite had a bath with jets and a TV. We got some chocolate brownies in our room which was a bonus (with a congratulations for our wedding on the card). The beds were large and lots of storage space. We used the spa which was worth it for the afternoon and used the different things they had to offer. There is also room service if needed.

Attended today for a wellness spa day and have absolutely loved it. The facilities are out of this world, steam rooms, saunas, a pool that has everything in it you could imagine, water beds and each room we were told how to get the best out of it. The food and drink was amazing and a huge choice, we found it incredibly hard to decided. Chloe that did my massage was amazing and I felt like a new woman when I walked out. She seemed to find all the little niggles I had without me having to say anything. All the staff are extremely happy and helpful. I will definitely be back 😍.

Came for a spa day and afternoon tea. Definitely a 5 star day out The staff were absolutely lush. Super kind and helpful a real credit to the place The spa was lovely, enough different rooms to go into and the pool and hot tub was a good size as well as the water beds and seating area. Was gutted the cold plunge was out of action but nothing too major. Would be great if there were water stations rather than asking staff for water but legit only complaint with the spa I had a treatment which I could have fallen asleep in, so relaxing and amazing job Afternoon tea was delightful, great selection of food and sweet treats. The selection of tea was unreal and I would love to know where the milk oolong is from! Very impressed

Very disappointed in the room , really poor condition, after complaining given a much better one. If it was available why on earth did I get the first one with dirty carpet water damage around the window and a nasty bathroom. Unable to get a dinner reservation due to a large number of golf tournament attendees. Ended up at an outstanding restaurant in town anyway.I travel a great deal and visit Scotland frequently I was expecting better. For the price I was not impressed

I've recently stayed at The Cairndale for the evening before my wedding in one of the suites. The room was absolutely phenomenal, extremely comfy beds and fantastic service by all the staff - they were extremely accommodating, even bringing extra mirrors for my bridal party. We ate in one of the restaurants and the food was lovely. The only downside was the noise from the seagulls, but if you're a local you're probably used to that and nothing the hotel can do about that! Overall brilliant stay and fantastic service.
Laura H — Google review
Five star spa in three star hotel. The spa and hotel are at different stages of refurbishment /upgrade which makes it difficult to review as a whole. Some staff lacked experience/training which ment there were little errors and mistakes. Would advise visiting the spa as a day trip only if you want the five star experience. The spa is lovely and I can see why it's won awards. It's well laid out with a good range of steam rooms and saunas. We enjoyed trying the ice bath as part of the experience too. The service in the spa was good with attentive staff delivering drinks and checking how we were getting on. I liked being able to have a light bite and drink in the relaxation area next to the spa. I had a full body massage from Wendy which was very nice. The service elsewhere in the hotel was a bit hit and miss, not sure if it was a lack of experience/confidence. There was no big issues just lots of small things like plates going to the wrong table, staff coming back to ask about orders because they had forgotten etc. The restaurant food was nice, particularly the small plates (I tried some whilst in the spa and others at dinner as the menu is the same) There small range of gluten free dishes (3 starters/3 mains). We were sat in the spa cafe for our dinner which, while nice during the day, felt strange for dinner - the room is very bright and had no music. Breakfast was served in an area of the hotel that's not been refurbished yet. The main offering is a full Scottish buffet, which like most buffets is a little hit and miss. Some things like the potato scones were fresh and tasty, others like the bacon looked like it had sat there a while. It seemed well suited the large group of golfers but less so to the couples on spa breaks.

Extensive renovations have been done here in public areas but definitely not in the bedroom I had, it didn’t look like it belonged in the same hotel. Has to be the worst room I have had in a very long time, poor shower, loose hot tap, need to hold it to turn on, plus no heating so I don’t recommend staying here but otherwise a very nice looking spa, bar area and bar food menu selection good
Barbara W — Google review
Visited for a spa overnight Thermal spa was lovely and recently renovated with varied saunas and steam room with a cold water plunge tank as well. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Hotel itself is clean and well maintained although rooms were a little dated with mini fridge Breakfast buffet and service was disappointing. Limited choice and unappealing hot food on offer. Coffee and juices were tasteless with no option of specialty coffee/egg station etc Juice bar in the spa wasn’t always manned so a little tedious waiting to get a drink or order food Prices I felt for food and drinks were excessively high for the quality and quantity that was served.

Despite its initial appearance, the hotel impresses guests with helpful reception staff and spacious, spotlessly clean rooms. The on-site dining experience receives high praise for piping hot delicious meals and top-notch breakfast.
We were immediately accommodated in spite of not having booked ahead. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The service was friendly, and we enjoyed a hearty and delicious breakfast. Friars Carse Country House is an elegant manor hotel located about 8 miles north of Dumfries center. Steeped in history, it was once home to Robert Riddell, a friend and patron of Robert Burns. The grounds feature a small building where Burns wrote and scratched lines from a poem on the window. Guests can enjoy traditional rooms, a wood-paneled restaurant, and complimentary hot breakfast.
I am a regular guest at Friar's Carse, & always enjoy my visits. The architecture is very aesthetically pleasing. The team, Heather, Ben & Charlotte always provide a very warm welcome, and couldn't be more helpful & attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the bedrooms are very comfortable, some with fantastic views! I always enjoy my food, which is beautifully cooked and well presented, with generous sized portions. Afternoon tea is another delight which I have often enjoyed with friends. Overall I think the hotel offers good value for money, together with a pleasant experience. I'm looking forward to my next return visit 👌👍🙂

Dirty and tired… but could be outstanding! This hotel has the potential to be stunning but in its current state it’s beyond disappointing. The cleanliness is poor, from the dining room to the bedroom, standards are low. Whereas the disrepair in parts of the hotel and poor maintenance is also evident. Unfortunately, I wasn’t asked how my stay was upon checkout either which is a missed opportunity for this feedback. With a deep clean, some small renovation and handy-person improvements, this hotel could be something quite special.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night, there was a wedding taking place we arrived about 6.30pm to be honest we felt like an afterthought if the hotel is full of wedding guests mabye just dont fill the last room if your hotel is not really capable of looking after ALL the guests. The fire alarm went off 30 minutes after we arrived. We had dinner at the hotel which was quite expensive and we had to wait for nearly 1 hour for our food in a large dining room listening to the most unusual very loud jarring orchestral music, it was very a bizarre experience, although the food was tasty the portions were small. The shower had 2 temperatures Volcanic and scalding. The majority of the staff looked miserable. The location was lovley everything else sadly needs a lot of work.

This was one of the hidden gems of our roundtrip through Scotland. It is hard to describe what it felt like staying here as it is a blend of living in a monastery, youth hostel, and fairytale. The stay was extremely pleasant not only for the cozy lobby we spent the evening in, or the great breakfast, or the beautiful walk along the river we had in the morning. Everything about this stay just felt special. Two remarks in case you are affected: 1. The doors close (as in locked) at 11pm and if you plan to go outside during the night, you have to ask for an extra key. 2. This place is embedded in nature, so butterflies and moths can and will enter your room, if you leave the windows open. And you might feel overburdened by the number of stars visible at night ;)

My husband and I and our two dear friends ate here last night. It was our 10th Wedding Anniversary and we couldn’t have chosen a nicer experience. We were given a huge private dining table in the Nith room, aptly named as we were seated by the picture window overlooking the River Nith. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and tasted fantastic. The service was great and nothing was too much trouble for the attentive staff. We had the space and privacy to really enjoy our evening in beautiful peaceful surroundings and we were even presented with a Happy Anniversary plate with red velvet cake tasters, strawberries and chocolate. A very enjoyable evening with lots of laughs and great food and wine.

Old country house hotel with lovely interior and great walking along nearby river path. Room was comfortable but could do with some renovation, especially the bathroom which definitely showed its age. Dinner was a bit mixed, great main course and Carmenere by the glass, but slightly disappointed with cheese board which was nothing special. Also quite pricey. Good breakfast. Robert Burns cottage also nearby.

Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel offers individually furnished rooms and a full cooked breakfast, with a restaurant on-site. Situated in the Rhinns of Galloway, this working lighthouse provides a unique coastal experience with its quirky decor and stunning views of Northern Ireland, Campbelltown, and the Isle of Arran. Built in 1817 to protect Loch Ryan's mouth, guests can watch ships passing by en route to Belfast and Larne.
This review is of their lovely restaurant as we only dined there. Following our party of 6 dining there I’m delighted to say that everything about the Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel / Restaurant continues to exceed expectations. This is an outstanding restaurant that truly deserves the highest praise. The chef’s talent is unmistakable—every dish we enjoyed was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. It’s rare to find such consistent quality over time, but this place continues to deliver. The owners remain as warm and engaging as ever, and the staff are excellent: attentive, professional, and friendly without being overbearing. Tonight’s experience only reaffirmed my view that this is a real gem—charming, welcoming, and consistently outstanding. It’s now firmly on my list of favourites and I recommend it wholeheartedly. If you’ve not been for a while, I urge you to give it another try—it has truly reached new heights. I should mention that I have no connection to the owners or staff—just a sincere appreciation for a small business that genuinely deserves to thrive.

We stayed one night and it was the highlight of our trip to Scotland. The room was lovely - very clean with all the necessities plus some nice extras like sparkling and still water. The property is beautiful, and we had a nice time walking around and seeing the waterfront. We spotted a few seals during our stay, and it was very fun watching their little heads bob in the waves. We booked the fixed price dinner, which was world class. Each course was delicious, we particularly enjoyed the salmon appetizers. Breakfast was lovely as well. We appreciated getting some personalized recommendations of their local whiskey selection, and seeing the owner’s landscape and wildlife photography displayed throughout the historical building. All in all, a perfect stay!

We spent an amazing 2 nights here in the lighthouse suite. It was a sensory sensation. Views were magnificent and the smells amazing. The hosts and staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. The meals were fabulous tasty treats. We would definitely go back here. Thankyou to all the staff who made this so memorable.

We enjoyed a fabulous night at the Corsewall Lighthouse to celebrate my birthday. The isolated landscape and windswept lighthouse provided a unique and stunning backdrop, while inside every detail was authentic and yet still in keeping with modern expectations. Our dinner was exceptional, and as lovers of fine food, we were very impressed. The breakfast was equally delicious and from our welcome to our farewell, we were looked after wonderfully. Thank you Helen and John and the team. You have created a very special experience that we'd highly recommend.

What a great find. Stunning scenery and a fab, quirky if not, a bit spooky, lighthouse. We just had coffee and shortbread which were delicious. It was chucking it down which added to the atmosphere of the place. Well worth a visit.

We really enjoyed our stay at Corsewall. Staff were friendly, location was tranquil and quiet, and the food was fantastic. Dinner and breakfast used top quality ingredients and it was all very well cooked. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

What an amazing spot! We stayed in a room inside the lighthouse. All the important things are fantastic - super quiet spot, glorious views, friendly staff, super clean beds, nice negroni and smoked salmon sandwiches, superb breakfast. If you want a luxury spa-like bathroom or even a fresh and perky carpet then this may not be the place for you,but you'll be missing out. We loved it and would highly recommend it

Nestled in the charming Scottish harbor town of Portpatrick, Fernhill Hotel offers a tranquil retreat with stunning sea views and lush private gardens. The hotel provides comfortable accommodation with most rooms offering picturesque village and harbor vistas. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate its proximity to four local courses, making it an ideal base for golfing parties. Guests can enjoy a relaxed dining experience at the hotel's restaurant and unwind at the bar. The friendly staff, particularly manageress Rose, receive high praise for their attentive service.
Great hotel with wonderful views over port Patrick. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nothing was to much for them. This is our second visit and didn't disappoint. Sea view rooms are wonderful with great balcony views.

Nice little hotel in a fantastic location, with good food at reasonable prices, nice little bar, friendly and helpful staff and an incredible view over the harbour. The room we were in (#1) was very dated - particularly the bathroom which was fresh from the 70s, but it was large, clean and well equipped. Overall worth the money - will definitely be back.

This was our second stay here and enjoyed it as much as the first. Room and bathroom very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Food spot on, high quality. Views great, car parking plentiful. The location is good for the general area to. Decent comfortable beds for a good nights sleep. Free Wi-Fi. Well done.

The best thing about this hotel, are 2 things. Firstly the staff, ( especially Rose the manageress ), who are lovely and can not do enough for you, I really do believe that everyone of them are an asset to the company. Secondly the rooms whilst a wee bit tired, are friendly and comfortable, whilst clean and hygienic. With the setting overlooking PortPatrick it makes for a great stay. We will be back for sure.

When this establishment was owned by McMillan Hotels, it was excellent for golfing weekends which our party had attended for 30 years. Now under Bespoke Hotels, it does not do Golf Packages and, as a result our party had to pay the golf courses themselves, which was a lot more expensive. As were all the rooms, dinners and drinks! Now very disappointing!!!

The Fernhill hotel is located at the top of the hill with good views over Portpatrick. Our room was the classic. It was a nice size, very clean and tidy. We had a great view over the harbour. All the staff from check-in to leaving helped make our stay enjoyable. Portpatrick is a fairly quiet place.

We booked to stay for 1 night. The smell of stale smoke in the room was so bad we couldn't have slept in it. They obviously knew the smell was bad as when we got there the patio door was wide open trying to air the room. We booked a double room sea view,it was 2 single beds pushed together with a hard ridge down the middle, not a double bed. The room was very dated & shabby & not the cleanest. We managed to get a space in the carpark when we 1st arrived but we nipped out to walk the dog & when we got back there was nowhere to park. There is a severe lack of parking for the size of hotel. Within an hour of arriving we decided to go home. A waste of a160 mile round trip & £150+. I emailed the hotel twice to explain we weren't happy but had no response from them. Would not recommend this hotel.

My wife and I are just back home after a 2 night stay at the Fernhill Hotel. We had a lovely time , this is a great Hotel in a stunning location with the most Amazing view of Portpatrick. It's not a New Hotel by any stretch of the imagination and some places are showing signs of wear but nothing drastic and it all adds to the Hotels charm. We stayed in room 46 which was HUGE and had a stunning view of Portpatrick Harbour. Breakfast was Brilliant , Fresh and plenty of choice, we ate in the Hotels restaurant for one night and the food was good , cooked well and well presented at a reasonable price. The thing that stood out about the Hotel was the Staff, everyone we came into contact with were Brilliant, Friendly, Helpful and very Professional, my wife took a shine to the Gardner. All in all a great stay in a Lovely Hotel, thank you to all involved 👍🏻

Austin Lodges offers a truly enchanting retreat, perfect for those seeking relaxation and tranquility. With stunning decor and immaculate facilities, each lodge is designed to provide an exceptional experience. Guests have raved about the beautiful garden area, often graced by friendly sheep or cows during their stay. The lodges are equipped with thoughtful touches that elevate the experience, such as hot tubs and cozy interiors that make you feel right at home.
We had a fabulous stay in luxury Austin Lodge 10A. It had everything we needed for 3 nights stay. The lodge was spotlessly clean with the most wonderful little added touches to make it exceptional. Hot tub was amazing! Thankfully we didn't need to use the underfloor heating as we were lucky with the weather (25+ degrees for the 3 nights). The site is immaculate and in the most incredible surroundings. 15 minutes in a taxi to town. Leah was quick to respond to any questions I had, like where is good to eat and what bars to celebrate a special birthday. Also thanks to Leah for allowing the cake lady in early to drop a cake and balloons off for our arrival. We will most definitely be back soon. Thank you for an amazing stay!

We stayed at Austin Lodge 12 for a 2-night break to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and absolutely loved it! The lodge was clean, cozy, and had a great hot tub. Beautiful, peaceful location with a field right on the doorstep and cows and sheep nearby. Perfect relaxing getaway—highly recommend!

We stayed in lodge 12 and the lodge was very clean and decorated beautifully. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, we all had a great nights sleep. Outside we all loved the egg chair, especially the kids. The hot tub was great, just what we needed after a day exploring. We came for a relaxing holiday of 2 adults and 2 children and we all had a great time. The lodge is better than we could have hoped for and are all going back chilled after enjoying a relaxing few days of family time. We will definitely be back. Our new favourite place.

Lovely place in a great location. We stayed in 10b and it was luxury. They have everything you could need, including washer dryer and even underfloor heating! Even though there are lots of lodges it is fenced off so still feels private. Hot tub and outside seating area were great, too. Highly recommended.

We are just after a 2 night stay in the deluxe lodge. This was such a relaxing peaceful getaway! The lodge had everything we needed, the small touches went the extra mile. It was spotless and perfect! Leah was amazing with helping us to find the perfect dates and telling us what was around for us to visit! The interior design of the lodge was so beautiful and my taste to a T! We definitely will be revisiting when we can, thank you again Leah!
