Truly an amazing experience, Luigi and staff were truly the best. The history they taught us, and the care they took, not to mention this has been the best pizza on our trip. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a great class, great pizza, and a great time. We will be back!

We loved this pizza making experience, the staff were all so friendly and lovely! It was great to see the whole process, try mozzarella, different flavoured olive oils and end with our delicious pizza and wine. Thank you for a memorable day! We made some lovely friends too, if anyone else was on the tour please get in touch with us to connect!

The staff was really attentive and made sure the guests were having fun the whole time! And the pizza we made was excellent - a testament to the quality of home made ingredients they make in house.

Amazing experience with a small group with great instruction and tips for pizza making! All the staff was so nice knowledgeable! We got a mozzarella making demonstration, olive oil tasting, and pizza making and lunch with wine included. They also picked us up and dropped us off from the main city in Sorrento.

Absolutely amazing experience at Tirabusciò Cooking School in Sorrento! We visited as part of a school trip, and without a doubt, it was the highlight of our entire visit. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming – they made us feel right at home. The whole experience was hands-on, fun, and so well-organized. The team were not only professional but also genuinely passionate about sharing their love for Italian cooking. They engaged brilliantly with our group, creating an atmosphere full of laughter, learning, and delicious food. Everyone left with a smile on their face (and a full stomach!). We couldn’t recommend it more – thank you, Tirabusciò, for such a memorable and special day!

Cooking class
Experience the culinary delights of Sorrento at La Cucina del Gusto by Chef Carmen. This cooking school offers daily classes from April to October, where you can learn to prepare traditional Italian dishes in a fun and interactive environment. Under the guidance of Chef Carmen, you'll create three mouthwatering courses, including fresh pasta, a main dish, and a local dessert. The classes are conducted in English with the assistance of a translator for seamless communication.
We scheduled this on a whim while eating at the restaurant. 10/10 would do it again. Carmen was amazing, very thorough with teaching her technique but also creates a comfortable and fun environment for everyone. The food is spectacular plus there’s plenty to drink during the class! At the end we got to eat our creations and sip wine with the new friends we made. An all around fantastic time, we ended up staying an hour over our expected class time we were just enjoying ourselves so much.

Carmen is one of a kind. I came to see her for the first time 10 years ago and now I’m back with more family and she’s just as great. Her whole family makes you feel like your own Italian family. We want them all to come back with us! It’s a must try experience for a lifetime of memories and the food is truly amazing. I can’t recommend enough. We love you, Carmen! Grazie Millie x1000! ♥️🖤💚

This experience was absolutely incredible. Carmen was incredible nice and thoughtful. Made you feel at home. Asked about your culture and could talk about many places and people. Lots of great local info. Absolutely amazing pasta the best I’ve ever had. And the dessert on top was just incredible! Would 100% recommend and do again just to get to learn more and see their amazing place!! 10/10!!

Cooking class
Chez Barone Cooking School in Sorrento, Italy offers a top-notch cooking experience that stands out among tourist activities. The class takes place at an amazing villa in the hills above Sorrento, where participants are warmly welcomed by the owner, Fabio. The setting provides a picturesque backdrop for learning about local agriculture and preparing authentic Italian dishes. With high-quality aprons and hats provided, guests can enjoy a first-class experience from start to finish.
We took the cooking class with Chef Anna and chef Claudia during our honeymoon. It was such a memorable, beautiful and delicious experience! The views and property are stunning, all of the attendees were warm and friendly, and the instructions and services were fun, easy to follow, and the food was incredible! We met some really fantastic people and some of the kids from one of the families were having a ball helping out along the way. Such an inclusive, positive experience. Highly recommend!
Molly S — Google review
This cooking class was absolutely amazing! From the seamless pickup to the stunning location, every detail was perfect. Anna, our teacher, was incredible—knowledgeable, warm, and engaging, making the whole experience so enjoyable. The food we prepared was delicious, and sharing it together in a community-style dinner made it even more special. The breathtaking views added the perfect touch to an unforgettable evening. Highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a unique and memorable culinary experience!
Meagan V — Google review
My family and I took this cooking class and… WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! From Fabio picking us up in the golf cart to Chef Anna’s amazing personality, everything about it was just wonderful. I loved every part of the class — the views, the food we made, and of course, the tasting. If I had one small tip to make an already incredible experience even better, it would be to consider keeping the classes a bit smaller and more intimate. I completely understand why they’re the most popular cooking class in Sorrento (and for good reason!), but a group size of around 10–12 people might make it even more special and give everyone a chance to get hands-on. That said, Chef Anna did a fantastic job incorporating as many people as possible and assigning “jobs” — it was so much fun. It could also be a nice touch to include a little keepsake from the class, like a small rolling pin, as a reminder of such a memorable day. The apron was great, but a small souvenir would make it even more unforgettable. Next time I come back to Sorrento, I’ll definitely be staying at the hotel and taking this class again. I loved every second of it — and my family did too. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip!
Billy M — Google review
Chez Barone in Sorrento offers an awesome cooking class. I had a fabulous time learning how to prepare three different meals and dessert! The wine, limoncello and olive oil along with meals were delicious. Sending hugs to Chef Anna and Claudia for a great time and wonderful cooking tips!
D S — Google review
What an experience this was. The pick up from the station was seamless and the owner picked us up in a golf buggy. Whilst driving to the venue he gave us a great run down of the Sorrento area which was a nice touch. The cooking school itself is set in an incredible little compound with an amazing view of Mount Vesuvius. The teacher (chef) Ana was amazing from start to finish and was very helpful the whole way through, with Claudia also helping tidy up as we went. We did the pasta & pizza masterclass and the food itself was amazing and all of the oils were very tasty too. Lots of wine was had and fun times as we cooked up a storm. Strongly recommend this experience.

Chez barone cooking class was THE highlight of our trip to sorrento. From booking to completing the class everything was top notch. I emailed them before scheduling the class since the hotel we were staying at was a little outside of the main downtown area and pick up location. They said since our hotel was directly on route to their cooking school, they could pick us up right at the Main Street entrance of our hotel! They were so kind and very generous with wine too! Our meal (or rather meals since we made fettuccine with bolognese, gnocchi alla Sorrentina and pizza and tiramisu) was one of the best meals we had in all of Italy. Chef Anne made our class fun while ensuring we all stayed on task. The property is gorgeous and I would without a doubt recommend Chez Barone Cooking School during your trip to sorrento. Not to be missed!!

What a fantastic time! Chef Anna and Claudia did an amazing job and were tremendous hosts and teachers. The location and grounds of the estate are gorgeous, and the food we made was delectable! We took the pizza and pasta class, made pizza dough, gnocchi, fettuccine, and tiramisu. Highly recommend as a great way to spend an afternoon in Sorrento.

Wow! What a class, thank you so much Anna G!! You were amazing. Come to find out my dad has been making his pasta wrong for years lol. We loved connecting with the group from all over the states. I would highly recommend this class to anyone thinking of going! We will be back the next time we are in Sorrento!

Cucinammore offers a gelato cooking class hosted by one of Sorrento's renowned small-batch producers. The central location is easily accessible and the class provides a variety of sweet and fruity flavors perfect for the warm climate. Visitors praise the authentic menu, small group environment, and the genuine hospitality they experienced. The stunning kitchen and garden provide an unmatched setting for learning to make delicious dishes like gnocchi, eggplant Parmesan, and tiramisu.
Homey kitchen and magical garden setting for this friendly and fun cooking class! We had chef Philomena lead us through making gnocchi, eggplant Parmesan and tiramisu and it was so excellently done! Philomena was obviously an expert cook and explained everything about the ingredients of the region and the method of cooking so well. We had a wonderful time drinking wine and relaxing in the garden throughout the class and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Also a stunning view of the bay below! The cuisine of this region is so special and we had an amazing time. Highly recommend this place and chef Philomena!

What a brilliant activity! Collected in a minivan, we joined a small group (5 total) and headed up the hills to a beautiful farm. Surrounded by lemons, and sunshine we had views over Sorrento, & Vesuvius! First we saw how focaccia is made with a Sorrento twist! And then made dough, and our own margaritas which Francesco & Maria helped with & turned for us in the oven. We enjoyed these with wine and plenty of time to chat & relax. Cannot overstate how stunning the location is & fun & friendly the team are. Brilliant activity & back in sorrento early enough to shop/stroll/explore. The team have created a great experience here!

Really a great experience. We wanted to do something more than just visiting sorrento. Something active. The cocking class was perfect. The setting is amazing. The class is outside in a garden. With really great people. Immediately feels welcome and at home. They had to telling us that the shuttle was going to bring us home because we were so comfortable and ready to stay. It’s like having a great time with friends. Loved it. A great way to end off our trip to Italy.

We spent our last evening in Sorrento taking a cooking class at Cucinammore. We arrived as strangers and left as family! Everyone was so genuine with the kindest hearts and the sweetest smiles! The location is UNMATCHED! They’ve poured their hearts into it and it shows! The kitchen is stunning; the garden is perfection! The food was delicious- gnocchi as soft as pillows and the BEST eggplant Parmesan we’ve ever had (and may ever have ha) and the tiramisu was delish! Can’t wait to visit again & take another class!
Angie K — Google review
We had a great day today, first of all making pizza in the morning and then wine tasting in the evening - but that's for another review. We were picked up from central Sorrento and then taking up the mountain to the cooking location; it seemed to be a small building purpose built for cooking, with a surrounding area containing lots of lemon trees and some quaint little nooks for sitting, viewing and even making juices with old presses. We were warmly welcomed by the team, including Francesco who introduced himself immediately to us as our pizza making teacher. He clearly loves to make pizza (and limoncello) and walked us through the entire process. We are a mixture of soon to be teen-ager, slightly less than middle aged (ahem) and slightly younger than senior. We all had a great time and learnt to make pizza together, it was a very enjoyable time. The adults were given some lovely local wine and every part of the process and the ingredients was explained to us; we had some focaccia as a starter after Francesco demonstrated the process, and it was very tasty, and then we each cooked and ate our own pizzas again after demonstration. It was finished off with a drink of limoncello which the manufacturing process was also explained to us. It was an excellent start to the day, and combined with a local vineyard tour really made for an excellent day and put me more in the good books with the mother in law! What more can you ask for?
Stephen P — Google review
I randomly stumbled upon Cucinammore when leaving my hotel and decided to book the 3hr cooking class and it was one of the best parts of our trip. We had the best time learning to make Gnocchi, eggplant parmigiana and tiramisu while soaking in the beautiful countryside views of Sorrento. The chef was so amazing and made the class so fun for us all. Afterwards we had the chance to enjoy the fruits of our labor paired with some fantastic local wines. This is a must when in Sorrento!
Cassandra R — Google review
We had the BEST time at this pizza cooking class in Sorrento! From the moment the sweetest man, Antonio, picked us up, we knew it was going to be a special experience. He was such a delight and instantly made us feel welcome. We learned how to make a delicious margherita pizza dough from scratch, and while it rested, the chef served us the best focaccia of my life (I’m still dreaming about it – seriously next-level good). We then finished making our pizzas and enjoyed them with the most stunning view over Sorrento. To top it all off, we ended with a heavenly limoncello tiramisu and were offered any type of drink we wanted – such a lovely touch. Everyone was so friendly and made the experience feel so warm and authentic. And as if that wasn’t enough, they even sent us the recipe afterwards so we can recreate it at home! If you’re in Sorrento, this is an absolute must-do – fun, delicious, and unforgettable! 🍕🍋✨
Megan D — Google review
What an unforgettable experience! We were picked up by a van and taken to a stunning lemon farm with breathtaking views of Sorrento. Guided by the wonderful Maria, we prepared a delicious three-course meal, paired with wine, plenty of laughs, and her expert tips. Maria is an incredible chef, and we had an absolute blast with her. Thank you for such a fantastic time! We would do it again in a heartbeat!

Fine dining restaurant
Italian restaurant
Il Buco is a renowned Italian restaurant located in the historic center of Sorrento. The chic space, set under a stone ceiling, offers inventive tasting menus and wine pairings. The restaurant is known for its Michelin-starred status and contemporary presentation of Campania's cuisine.
Highly recommend checking out Il Buco! We had such a fun evening, fabulous food and drinks! My husband did the tasting menu and it was incredible. The rest of us ordered from the menu and truly enjoyed each thing. The highlight was the raw fish platter - amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful and made our experience even better.
Lindsay V — Google review
Unfortunately, Il Buco does not live up to its Michelin star. The food seems passionless. We opted for the “I trust you” menu because we wanted to see what creative dishes the chef would come up with. Instead, we just got random dishes from the menu. Nothing about the choices was inventive and we honestly would have saved money if we ordered those dishes directly. The initial appetizers were very bland — and so while we were initially interested in the wine pairing, we switched to just ordering a bottle since we didn’t feel like the pairing would live up to our standards. It also felt unorganized - we had about 3-4 different servers all at once. Above all, it was a fine meal. But it doesn’t deserve the amount of money we paid. I wouldn’t go back.
Elsa A — Google review
My wife and I had a wonderful evening here to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary whilst in Sorrento. We were attended to faultlessly. The food was absolutely delicious and the wine was superb (there is a very extensive list and the staff are happy to talk and make suggestions). Is there good food elsewhere in Sorrento? Yes. Is there cheaper food elsewhere in Sorrento? Yes. However, this was comfortably the best dining experience we had during our week stay to Sorrento. Would recommend for a special evening.
Adrian S — Google review
This was one of my favorite dining experiences to date! Off the bat, the atmosphere was incredible. They seated me right away without a reservation, in a beautifully lit entry garden to the restaurant. It was just private enough where I could still enjoy some people watching. The service was outstanding and the food was absolutely to die for. Would recommend splurging and getting the dessert. Loved the Wild Strawberry Tart, I thought I had died and went to heaven. Don't waste any more time and enjoy this lovely dining experience!

**A Perfect Finale to Our Italian Adventure 🇮🇹✨** I have nothing but praise for this incredible restaurant. For our final night in Italy, we decided to treat ourselves to a special dinner—and it was worth every single penny. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The chef personally came out to greet us and thoughtfully asked about any dietary preferences. As vegetarians, we were blown away by the care and creativity he put into crafting a menu just for us. Every dish was a masterpiece—flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with clear passion. The ambiance was warm and elegant, making it the perfect setting for a memorable evening. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in outstanding cuisine, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. It was the perfect way to end our trip on a high note! ---
Finding J — Google review
A fabulous location, tucked away down a cute cobbled street you enter into the restaurant and are seated in a spacious cellar that feels light, bright and airy. We opted for a tasting menu and every course was divine. The attention to detail is impeccable, with some items looking like art, but not loosing any flavour for it! Service was faultless, staff are super helpful and friendly. We went for a special birthday and our dessert course was served with a candle and a serenade of happy birthday! An absolute MUST visit if you find yourself in Sorrento!
Lynette O — Google review
Best restaurant in Sorrento! Service is impeccable and they literally cater to you! The chef, the manager and the servers are all extremely professional. The food is exquisite and each dish has a special touch! Ambiance is also lovely with a beautiful desert lab and wine cellar! We loved it so much that we came twice in one week!

Great food, amazing service. Definitely recommended to everyone. I ordered the I Trust You menu, and the food was definitely beyond expectations. Had the best tempura oyster and beef taco. Remember to book in advance for dinner, the restaurant is super popular and the indoor space was already fully booked by the time I arrived.

Agriturismo Primaluce Sorrento offers an authentic Italian farm experience, where visitors can immerse themselves in the rural way of life. The family-owned farm provides hands-on lessons in cheese making and pizza dough preparation, as well as insights into the production of organic olive oil and wine. Visitors are welcomed with warmth and humor, creating a familial atmosphere that adds to the charm of the experience.
We attended a pizza making evening here at the farm and it was honestly amazing from start to finish. The class was led by Anna who was incredible - she was funny, engaging but most of all extremely knowledgeable. We laughed and smiled throughout the evening, not to mention the delicious pizza we made and tasting of foods made by the farms local produce. 100% would recommend this. A lovely family and an absolutely beautiful farm. We even bought some of their meloncello to take home with us. Thanks for an amazing memory!

Must book this experience if going to Sorrento! We were collected in the centre of Sorrento and returned after a brilliant day out. We learned all about wine making, olive oil and limoncello. The pizza masterclass was a highlight. Francesco made the experience with his warm hospitality and great humour. He welcomed us into his home to meet his family members and learn about the culinary traditions of Italy. Fantastico! 🍕 🇮🇹 🍷

We didn't stay here but instead did a 4hr farm tour, picked up from Sorrento. This was the highlight of our trip to Italy for our family of 8 including seniors and small children. Everyone enjoyed the personalities of the family, who each have a role on the tour from pizza making to walking you through the grape vines and lemon groves and olive oil production process. The cheese-making was especially interesting. This feels really authentic like you're getting to spend the day with a really funny and personable Italian family at their home. Also, the farm has absolutely beautiful views of Vesuvius and overlooks Sorrento from above.

If you're looking for an authentic and heartwarming experience in Sorrento, you have to book a pizza cooking class at this family-run farm. The family is truly amazing—so welcoming and funny—and they made our experience absolutely perfect. The food is incredibly fresh, with everything grown right on their farm. We tasted a wide variety of their delicious products, from wild cherry juice and wine to dates, homemade mozzarella, and olive oil. You can taste the time, effort, and love they pour into their work. They are amazing hosts and we can't recommend this experience enough. If we're ever back in Sorrento, we will 100% be visiting them again.
Nicholas D — Google review
We came to Primaluce farm during our stay in Sorrento, to do the pizza making class. My mom, best friend and I enjoyed every second. Understanding how wine is made, along with mozzarella was super interesting, walking through the vines and lemon trees was also fab, they have impressive views of the bay from all areas. The pizza making was so much fun, they got everyone engaged and were super upbeat. Fab way to spend a few hours, would definitely recommend!
Amy S — Google review
This experience is a must, if you want to taste, and see local family business. The tour was so interesting and really opened our eyes to how much work, love and care goes into their products. The wine is delicious, and the Lemon Chelo was the best we had in Sorento. For me, the highlight was the pizza making. The 2 daughters and wife of the owner were just incredible and a credit to the whole experience. Francesca, the owner, is passionate about his business, and this can been seen from beginning to end. Thank you so much, to you and your beautiful family, we really did have the best of times. Your farm is incredible, and we wish you all the best for the future. X

We have booked the pizza classes as a part of our anniversary holiday’s and it was the best spent money. Anna, Francesco and the whole family was just amazing. The farm and the location too. It was a pleasure to spent the day with such a wonderful people and get knowledge of how to make a great pizza - we would definitely will trying to make it at home. Wish you guys al the best ❤️❤️❤️

We had such a great time doing the pizza cookery course. The pickup was easy and a short drive to the farm. The farm itself is gorgeous with great views and surroundings. Our host Anna was brilliant, very friendly and great fun. We were on the earlier session so had a small group which meant it was relaxed, we had plenty of time and everyone was very sociable which made it really enjoyable. Anna talked us through the pizza recipe and then we tried making dough which which was fun. Then came the pizza making which involved flipping the dough, spinning it in the air, which was hilarious, and then putting on the toppings to then be cooked in the outdoor pizza oven. Anna was taking lots of photos and videos on our phone during this which was great to look back on. The pizzas tasted amazing!! We got to try some of their local produce and wine, which was all delicious. We got to buy some limoncello and meloncello to bring home as it was so good. I highly recommend this trip to anyone!

Nestled just a short stroll from the bustling Piazza Tasso, La Villa is a charming spot that offers breathtaking views of Mount Vesuvius and the stunning bay below. This popular gathering place is perfect for tourists looking to capture memorable photos or simply unwind with a drink while watching the sunset. You can easily access it via stairs or a lift from the Marina, making it an ideal pitstop after a day at the beach.
Really nice spot found the day before I left. Amazing view as well of the water and everything. Also very quick service and thanks for the free peanuts and crisps which was so kind x

Great atmosphere here. A popular place- especially to watch the sunset. They served a platter of food with our drinks- but we didn't know what any of it was and it didn't look vegan so we couldn't eat it. However, they served the usual snacks that you get alongside drinks- these were sealed within pots and had the ingredients listed which was really helpful!

Don’t buy gelato from this place. It’s taste very bad, I couldn’t eat and it ended up in the rubbish bin. Stale and grainy. Beautiful place with amazing views but quality is poor. Not recommend anyone.

The location is first-rate, right by the sea, the food and drinks are also abundant, the taste is good, the service is also very good, in short, recommended! I have always been pessimistic about restaurants in tourist attractions, but this one is unexpectedly good! First-rate value for money!

This is a place you'd stop by for a drink typically before starting to explore Sorrento further, it's a fairly busy spot but boy does that ice cold beer taste amazing after a ferry ride, not to mention the amzaing views, you can see all the way to vesuvius from there. — Worth going? — ☑ Yes ☐ No — Level of tourism — ☐ Extremely Busy ☑ Very Popular ☐ Not too bad ☐ Pretty Quiet — Notes — Wonderful pit stop before heading further into Sorrento.

Maison Tofani is an elegant hotel located in the heart of Sorrento, offering upscale amenities such as a bar, rooftop terrace, and a dining room with a Renaissance-style ceiling. Guests can enjoy accommodations in an 18th-century mansion with exceptionally large rooms equipped with standard amenities and adorable kitchenettes resembling miniature Italian kitchens. The hotel also features a stellar wine cellar focusing on fine Italian varieties from the Southern Apennines region, offering tastings and tours for guests.
This 18th century building is in the centre of the historical quarter of Sorrento. The hotel is beautiful with a courtyard and welcoming reception area. The staff are warm and caring; nothing is too much trouble. The rooms were soundproofed when the windows were shut. The air conditioning unit was very efficient. The breakfast area is amazing. There is a ceiling fresco that demands your attention, but this is paralleled by the fantastic spread laid on by Maria. There are fresh patisseries and fruit/vegetables, breads, meats galore, washed down with coffee made to order. Our experience was brilliant. The hosting by all the staff we met was of the highest standard. The icing on the cake was the appearances by “Chipo” the resident turtle, who sometimes roamed the corridor! This was a great holiday (5 nights) in a great hotel. Thanks to Maria & Tony, and their team.

Adequate accommodation. The room was clean, but could not regulate the temperature. The "jacuzzi" shower was ridiculously small and complicated to operate. Basic amenities were lacking such as no linings in rubbish bins, in room tea coffee and milk supplies were stingy. Found previous occupants' clothing and medication in one of the drawers. Mouldy fruit served at breakfast. Overall the place is in decline.

Way too expensive for the tiny, unclean, difficult to access rooms. It could have been lovely and charming, but it just was not. There is no elevator to the top floor without having to first walk up broken stone steps for 1 floor. The elvayor was ancient and scary. The showers are so small that I had to step out of it or shut water off just to wash my hair. If I dropped something, no way I could have picked it up without getting out first. I am 5' 2" tall and weigh 125#. Our friend was 6' tall and it was a nightmare for him. No air conditioning, only heat. It was crazy hot and humid while we were there for the last week. We had to leave windows open all night and it is incredibly noisy all night. Room cleaning staff left me dirty tea cups every single day and I had to buy my own tea because they never refilled the supplies in the room. Also, you are not allowed to eat or drink in your room. The lovely gentleman who served at breakfast was excellent. The breakfast options were excellent. But, I would never stay here again.

Location, location, location. Best location for our 1st visit to Sorrento. The breakfast was wonderful, and the coffee and juices were fresh and great tasting. The bed was very comfortable and the doors to the balcony locked out 90% of the noise for a great night's sleep.

We stayed at this hotel recently. There are pros and cons. Pros: 1. In the heart of the Piazza, very good location, in walking distance to everything. 2. The staff try their best to be accommodating. 3. They provided breakfast. Cons: 1. If you are a light sleeper, this will be a challenge. It is very noisy until late at night/early mornings as it's off the main side street. 2. Stayed in room 204 for most of our stay. The bathroom smelled like sewage the entire time, and small black drain flies were present. Brought this to management, who could not switch rooms due to the hotel being at capacity. This was quite unpleasant and uncomfortable. Overall, great location, but will not stay here again due to the rotten smells from the bathroom.

I recently stayed at Maison Tofani in Sorrento, Italy, and had an outstanding experience. The staff's hospitality and genuine friendliness stood out—they truly cared about our stay, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. The hotel’s location in the heart of Sorrento was perfect, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and beaches. As my first boutique hotel experience in Europe, Maison Tofani exceeded my expectations. The staff's attention to detail, like preparing our breakfast at a time we chose, made our stay feel special. The air conditioning in our room was also a highlight, especially after coming from a hotel with poor A/C. It was a relief to return to a cool room after exploring in the heat. The only small downside was the busy pedestrian street outside, but the convenience of the location more than made up for it. I highly recommend Maison Tofani to anyone visiting Sorrento!
Wilbert B — Google review
stayed in Room 303 at Hotel Maison Tofani and had a terrible experience. There was no running water in the room — no water in the toilet, shower, or sink. When we reported the issue to the front desk, they refused to move us to another room and claimed it was a "city-wide problem." To confirm, I spoke with several nearby businesses, and all of them had running water, so it was clearly a hotel issue, not a city issue. This is unacceptable, especially from a hotel that advertises itself as a luxury experience. No water means no toilet use, no shower, and no way to wash hands — completely unsanitary and unsafe. We requested a full refund due to the lack of basic amenities, but the hotel refused. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere. If something goes wrong, don’t expect this hotel to take responsibility.

The room stayed generally clean. However the bathroom was clogged and I contacted the front desk 2 times and even requested to speak with the manager. Nothing was done. It’s a good learning experience for me. I should start checking the bathroom right away before unpacking .

Villa Pane is a charming B&B nestled in hillside gardens, offering an outdoor pool, a restaurant, and a cooking school. Located near the beach in Sorrento, it provides easy access to Corso Italia and Piazza Tasso. The friendly staff and picturesque views create a homely atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle. Guests appreciate the convenient free shuttle service and delicious homemade breakfast using fresh farm produce.
An Unforgettable Experience – The Absolute Highlight of Our Trip! If we could give Villa Pane more than 5 stars, we absolutely would! From the moment Giovani and his wonderful uncle picked us up from our Sorrento hotel, we knew we were in for something special. They welcomed us with warmth and charm, and transported us to their breathtaking family villa nestled on the highest hill in Sorrento, offering stunning views and an atmosphere full of heart. Upon arrival, we were greeted not only by their gracious hospitality but also by their sweet golden retriever, Guido, who made us feel right at home. Inside the villa, we found an inviting spread of homemade pastries and local wine, lovingly prepared by the incredibly talented owner and the warm-hearted Anna Maria. Our family of eight took part in a cooking class led by the amazing Anna Maria, and it truly felt like stepping into the heart of an Italian home. We made pizza, pasta, chicken, and the most decadent chocolate lava cake – all while laughing, learning, and connecting. Anna Maria immediately made us feel like part of her family, creating an experience that was not only delicious but deeply meaningful. We’ve spent 10 days touring Italy, enjoying everything from luxury yacht charters to private tours and even a viewing with the Pope – and yet, without hesitation, I can say that our time at Villa Pane was the absolute highlight of our trip. The hospitality, the food, the love – it was unforgettable. Thank you, Anna Maria and family, for opening your home and hearts to us. We will cherish this memory forever and recommend Villa Pane to anyone seeking a truly authentic and magical Italian experience.

The Highlight of Our Trip to Italy! Our family of eight had the most unforgettable experience at Villa Pane! Giovani and his uncle picked us up and brought us to their beautiful hilltop villa, where we were warmly welcomed by their sweet golden retriever, Guido, and treated to homemade pastries and wine. Anna Maria led our cooking class and immediately made us feel like family. We made pizza, pasta, chicken, and the best chocolate lava cake we’ve ever had. After 10 days touring Italy — from private yachts to even viewing the Pope — this experience was by far the highlight of our trip. Thank you, Anna Maria and family, for sharing your home, your heart, and your amazing food with us!

We were in Sorrento for a few days and booked a cooking class at Villa Pane. They provided free transportation to and from our hotel. My husband has a bunch of allergies (gluten, dairy, egg and nut) and they were able to accommodate all without issue. Giovanni was amazing - we prepared a perfect lunch including homemade tagliatelle, eggplant Parmesan, and chicken thighs all made with fresh herbs and vegetables that we got to hand pick from their garden. And a perfect Lemon Panna Cotta for dessert. Then we got to enjoy our lunch with local wine on their terrace. This villa is family run and would definitely consider staying here on our next visit to Sorrento!

We didn’t stay here, but we did the cooking class! It was just my husband and I on our honeymoon and she made the class very fun, educational and relaxed. Her son picked us up from hotel. The kitchen is literally her home’s kitchen. Everything is from her gardens.

If you’re looking for an authentic, heartfelt Italian experience, look no further. This family-owned cooking class—held right in their personal home—was by far the highlight of our trip to Italy. From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. The day began with picking fresh vegetables straight from their garden, which we later used to craft the most incredible dishes from scratch. We learned to make pasta dough, rich sauces, and a perfectly seasoned chicken that tasted like it came straight out of an Italian grandmother’s kitchen. Every step was hands-on and full of laughter, love, and the kind of attention you only get in a true family setting. By the end of the day, we found ourselves calling our gracious host “Zia,” because that’s exactly what she felt like—our Italian aunt, guiding us with warmth and passion through every recipe and technique. Her knowledge was matched only by her heart, and the flavors we created together were hands-down the best food we had in all of Italy. And we can’t forget Guido, the family dog, who might just be the real star of the show. He was charming, full of personality, and completely stole our hearts (and maybe a bit of our lunch when we weren’t looking). This wasn’t just a cooking class—it was a memory we’ll hold forever. The experience, the people, the food, the laughs—second to none. If you want to truly experience the soul of Italian cooking, this is the place. Don’t miss it.

My recent stay at this property was unfortunately very disappointing, primarily due to the lack of basic hospitality and unprofessional conduct. From our arrival, interactions with the man who appeared to be managing the property were unfriendly and dismissive. During our airport pickup, he remained on the phone the entire time and made little effort to welcome us. A simple request for an additional towel was denied, and when we inquired about adjusting our departure transport time by 30 minutes, we were told to note it on the schedule and “we’ll see,” without any clear confirmation. Throughout the stay, we encountered several concerning issues. On the second day, we returned to find our room had not been cleaned, despite daily housekeeping being advertised. When I contacted the property, instead of a courteous response, I received a phone call in which I was spoken to aggressively. I was told the cleaner had knocked twice that morning. However, during one instance, my partner was on the balcony speaking with a staff member, and during the second, we were inside preparing to leave. At no point did we hear a knock or notice any attempt to announce housekeeping. When I explained this and requested clean towels—ours had fallen on the floor due to the lack of adequate towel racks—I was again met with resistance and told I should be reusing them. Eventually, I was instructed to pick them up myself, where I was asked to wait with no further communication. The towels were finally delivered an hour later, and unfortunately, they were stained and damp. The next day, we returned to our room to find used towels placed inside the bidet, which was extremely unhygienic and unacceptable. These towels were also visibly stained and worn. We chose not to escalate further, hoping to avoid another confrontation. However, on the day of our departure, after confirming our 7:30 AM transfer with the manager both in person and via WhatsApp, no one arrived. A kind staff member from the kitchen tried to contact him on our behalf, but we ultimately had to carry six large bags down a steep and busy hill on foot, putting us at risk and under unnecessary stress. While the property does offer scenic views, the overall experience was overshadowed by a consistent lack of professionalism, poor communication, and inadequate guest service. I would not recommend staying here unless significant changes are made to how guests are treated. If the individual we dealt with is the owner, I would strongly encourage delegating guest relations to someone with appropriate training in hospitality.

Having such an amazing trip in Villa Pane at beginning of this March! I loved the authentic food that Anna Maria prepared on the first day! It was an unforgettable experience for me! Sitting at the beautiful table, watching the delightful scenes while having late delicious lunch with homemade wine. The cooking lessons and picking the fresh green vegetables from the gardens was a great day as well. The room with fabulous views, the nice quiet balcony…everything was perfect! Every conversation with all of you made me feel part of the family. My trip to Amalfi , Positano and Ravello was fantastic ! Luigi helped us made a better deal. Thank you to everyone ! Anna Maria, Luigi and Giovanni! I hope to see you again!

The experience was incredible. From Gianlucca picking us up from our resort and taking us through the back road, to Guido the golden retriever being the best welcomer to the Villa. Our teacher Giovanni (Govi) was the true star! He was incredibly kind and made us feel like family from the minute we stepped on the property. Despite dealing with a broken ankle, Anna Maria (the owner) came down to say hello and welcome my fiance and I to her home. Villa Pane is a family-run, authentic experience that I recommend to anyone visiting Sorrento.

The Penisola Experience offers a delightful culinary adventure that immerses you in the rich traditions of Campania, all within a charming historic home in Sorrento. During our honeymoon in March 2023, we were warmly welcomed by Cristiano and his family, who provided convenient transportation to their stunning cliffside location.
The highlight of our recent trip to Sorrento. Chef Cristiano and Teresa, his mother warmly welcomed us and quickly immersed us into the delicious world of Authenic Italian cooking. We made Eggplant Parmigiana, Gnocchi, and Tiramisu. We enjoyed our completed menu family style, accompanied by delicious, music and wonderful company. The class is at their home, a gorgeous setting in the hills of Sorrento. A highlight I’ll always remember. Grazie!

My partner and I had a great experience at this cooking class. Christiano was a great host and made the class super fun and engaging for everyone. The property is situated in a beautiful area overlooking the ocean. We did the sunset class which was beautiful! Transportation was easy and efficient and most importantly, the food was incredible. The only thing I will say is that we were only given a couple of glasses of wine and would have liked a bit more included or at least available to purchase.

**A Deliciously Fun Culinary Experience! 🍆🍝🍰** This cooking class was such a delightful experience! Set in the scenic and welcoming home of the host, it offered the perfect blend of hands-on learning and laid-back fun. We explored the basics of preparing three Italian classics—Eggplant Parmesan, Gnocchi, and Tiramisu—and walked away with skills that are both practical and easy to personalize with your own seasonings and flair. Cristiano, our host, was a standout—hilarious, engaging, and genuinely inclusive. He made sure everyone felt involved and comfortable, creating a warm and lively atmosphere that made the class feel more like a gathering of friends than a formal lesson. If you're looking for a quick, easy, and enjoyable introduction to Italian cooking, this class is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food, good company, and a good laugh! ---

My husband and I took a cooking class here on our honeymoon and had a fantastic time! Cristiano is welcoming and funny. There were several other young couples taking the class which made for a fun experience. And the food was absolutely delicious! I’m looking forward to trying to recreate the eggplant parm at home. Highly recommend!
Caitlyn B — Google review
Christiano and his mom welcomed us in their home for a great 4 hours of cooking and entertainment. A lot of the stuff were already prepared ahead of time, like the whipped cream, mascarpone and sugar mixture for the tiramisu, the tomato sauce for the gnocchi and eggplant parmesan, and the fried eggplants. It was mostly an assembly class for the tiramisu and the eggplant parmesan as making everything from scratch would take a whole day, so it’s understandable. Although prepared ahead of time, Christiano was very good with explaining the process of it all. The potatoes for the gnocchi were boiled already, but we got to do the rest of the process. I would consider this more of a cooking activity rather than a class, but would still highly recommend it. It is entertaining and we had a great time. They served us some of their homemade limoncello at the end of the class, which was a nice touch and delicious.
Saro H — Google review
I didn't hate it but I really wanted to love it more. Extremely disappointing. The transportation there was HORRENDOUS! Cristiano told us it would be 20 minutes.... over an hour! Stop and go traffic. I know this is out of their control but a big difference from 20 minutes. I will say the class was supposed to end at 8 and we went until 8:45 so they did add time. The food was delish! Eggplant was amazing! You deff don't "cook" but you do help prepare. I personally think it was just the right amount of hands on to do in a class like this. No offense, if you want to do everything, go into a private class. Saw lots of comments about wine being limited, ummm I drank a whole bottle myself. They deff were not shy on booze. I have to give the food portion an A+ You don't really get to experience "sunset" you are inside majority of the time and I went to take a pic of the sunset because it was beautiful (inside) and Cristiano snapped at me for taking a picture because I was "holding up the line." You are outside a bit but I would not call this experience a "sunset dinner, cooking class). Cristiano was kinda a PITA. Super extra. And VERY inappropriate. Slapping women on their behinds with wooden paddles, stuffing whipped cream in their mouths, VERY touchy! I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I feel other women were as well. There is a difference between having energy and being funny and just straight up disrespectful. I don't care what country I'm in, that's a BIG NO! Deff would pick another class. Even with the food being great, I just think with the distance and the inappropriateness of the instructor, it was not worth it.

We had a great stay at Holiday Sorrento Center and Valerio was a great host! From the beginning his communication was helpful and he even accommodated our later check in of 8pm due to an issue with our ferry schedule. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better and is walking distance to anywhere you would need in sorrento. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the train and maybe 15 minutes from the ferry. The rooms are a nice size and we had a room with a balcony. The balcony was over a street with no cars so it was nice and quiet. Valerio even gave us a nice bottle of wine to enjoy to thank us for staying! We had a great day and would come back again!

There is a small drinks fridge (which of corse you oay for what you use but the prices sre very reasonable), kettle, some teas, coffees, milks and cups in your room. The room also has a safe for your use and air-conditioning which is great when the weather is hot and humid a definite plus.

Led by the warm and funny family members of Villa Ida, participants learn to prepare appetizers, first and second courses, and delectable desserts.
Villa Ida, I apologize this review is almost 5- years, late! My fiancé and I did a cooking class at Villa Ida in 2020, right before the pandemic. It was the highlight of our trip. Going into the off season, it became a private session with this wonderful family. Charlie was awesome, the wine was excellent, and this was honestly the best meal we had in the country (and there were many). Charlie took us to his shop and drove us around town, after. We asked for a seafood heavy meal, and they delivered. Excellent!

The cooking class was top notch. Property is beautiful. Were greeted at the front gate by Charlie the wine maker and took us to our table by the pool. We were paired with a lovely couple and their adult child that were from Chicago and we had great conversation the rest of the night! They offered us beverage( water and a coffee) coffee was delicious. Then Marida gave us a tour of the kitchen and a beautiful over view of her family history. All staff provided exceptional service and interacted phenomenally with all participants. Once preparing food was complete we were taken to wine cellar for a tasting of three different wine vintages by Charlie and a video overviewing the process. The family members cook the rest of the meal and you’re seated in the garden/ patio and served each course paired with your favorite wine from their cellar. After meal they offer a shot of limoncello and the recipe. Learned a lot about cooking Italian cuisine. Truly a family business providing a great honest product. A must do when in Sorrento. Honestly one of the best meal and atmosphere’s I experienced in sorrento

PHENOMENAL COOKING CLASS. This was a group experience - our group was 10 people, all separate groups but all American which made it really fun to meet new people. The family that runs Villa Ida is this amazing born and raised Sorrento family - the people helping our group were Roberta and Charlie (Roberta is Charlie’s daughter) and Charlie’s niece. We made amazing fried zucchini squash, mozzarella/parm/ricotta stuffed paccheri in a red sauce, mini meat loaf/meatballs and a limoncello version of tiramisu which I liked much better than regular coffee tiramisu. The grounds of Villa Ida are also absolutely stunning. Overall the experience was a 15/10 and would absolutely call this a must do while in Sorrento. It was about 3-4 hours.

I had the experience of being part of the cooking class at Villa Ida last week. It was absolute delight. The family were so welcoming and knowledgeable. I learnt how to prepare simple but delicious traditional dishes from the region and also tasted Charlie's wonderful wine. I then had the privilege of eating the prepared food in their beautiful garden. A 10/10 experience.

Can’t recommend Villa Ida strongly enough! The grounds, family, wine and food made for the most wonderful lunch in Sorrento! Do not miss this experience if you’re in Sorrento!

We had so much fun during our Villa Ida cooking class. We cook fairly often at home and still learned a few tricks - and, more importantly, we had a good time doing it. Charlie, Roberta, and the rest of the family were warm, welcoming, and funny. Their sharing of their family history, their love of cooking, and their own family wine made this such a special and unforgettable experience. Lunch turned out absolutely delicious, as was the wine, - and more than ample; we didn't eat for the rest of the day. Thank you Charlie, Roberta, and family for a wonderful day and great memories!

My husband and I really enjoyed the cooking class at this family villa. The family members were very nice and showed us an authentic experience! We enjoyed the entire evening - cooking, eating, enjoying the wine cellar. It was a highlight of our trip!

A phenomenal experience, the staff/family at Villa Ida are amazing and the food and setting couldn't be better. Make sure you get to try the Charlie wine.
