Wanted to give a shout-out to our guide, Meg and say thanks! She led an excellent tour and the wine tasting was great. The whole team were very friendly and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Chapel Down. Would love to come back again in the future!

My wife and i bought a Wine and Dine experience for Our Sister for her 60th Birthday and had a really wonderful experience. The Wine tour was very informative and the Wine tasting was very professionally done. I was expecting it to be far more commercial than it was, which made the experience even better. The staff were all very nice and well informed. The food served was very tasty and well presented and served with paired wines all within the price. All in all a really nice afternoon.

Amazing winery, most lovely owner and a very fun wine tasting! Can totally recommend this beautiful winery for a visit, eg when staying in Rye. There is a public transport that brings you directly to chapel down.

We booked the Tour & Wine Tasting for ourselves and children and partners as a present. We love Chapel Down and have visited before, so wanted to share with the kids. The place has developed so much since our first visit in early 2000s. The tour was led by Andrew and he was great. A real good level of information delivered with humour and without and of the wine snobbery you get sometimes. All the wines we tasted were wonderful and generous measures. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
Paul M — Google review
Without doubt the best wine tour I have ever done. The vineyard is beautiful and the facilities first class. We started with a glass of the top sparkling. Our guide Russell was superb combining knowledge with good humour and a professional attitude. The wine tasting was generous, informative and varied with five wines tasted. Lunch was very good in the upstairs restaurant. Staff were lovely and food on point. It is an absolute bargain given what you get. We went today(October 20th) so only 9 in our group. A bigger group in peak season would still, I’m sure be enjoyable but I loved the small group. Highly recommended the tour and lunch

We had such a brilliant day at Chapel Down for the Wine & Dine Experience. The tour began with a lovely walk through the vineyard with our guide, Andrew, who was not only extremely knowledgeable but also wonderfully humorous, making the whole experience engaging and fun. He then guided us through the fermentation process and the full grape-to-glass journey. The tasting session was excellent, Andrew talked us through a range of wines in a way that was informative. It felt really accessible and enjoyable, even if you’re not a wine expert. We finished the day with a delicious three-course set menu at The Swan on the Chapel Down grounds, perfectly paired with the wines we had just learned about. Every course was beautifully presented and complemented the wines so well. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that balanced learning, tasting, and dining perfectly. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and memorable day out.

We did a Vineyard Tour and Experience with a three course lunch and it was absolutely incredible. Andrew was a such a brilliant host - knowledgeable and also very witty. He really made the tour feel special and really interesting. The Chapel Down wine was delicious and also the lunch in The Swan was superb - the service and quality of the food was amazing! We couldn't recommend enough! Thanks Chapel Down!

Spent the afternoon here on a wine tour our guide Russell was very knowledgeable and great fun with generous portions of wine given tasting after the tour. Brought some of their fantastic wines online, which was delivered the next day. Great service, all staff have incredible knowledgeable of all products. Would highly recommend for a great day out, their meats and cheese platter is worth a try as well

Nestled in the heart of Kent, Biddenden Vineyards is a charming family-run estate that has been delighting visitors since 1969. Spanning an impressive 23 acres, this picturesque vineyard offers a delightful array of award-winning wines including white, rosé, red, and sparkling varieties. Additionally, guests can savor their renowned Biddenden Cider and freshly pressed apple and pear juices.
Excellent family run vineyard. We did the 40 min self guided tour with tasting of 3 wines, staff were so helpful. Ended up spending quite a few £ on various still and sparkling wines.

We visited the Biddenden vineyard for a team day and had a fantastic experience. Our tour guide, Nathan, was incredibly knowledgeable and made the visit both informative and enjoyable. We ended the afternoon with a delightful tasting session that included wine, cider, and non-alcoholic options. Highly recommend for a relaxing and memorable afternoon!

Heartily recommend a visit here. Self guided tour, tastings and nibbles all for £65 for three of us. Had an amazing time, shop people were lovely. One of your party needs to have the apple juice tasting menu, or you'll need taxis 👍🏻
Ralph F — Google review
Take a tour around the vines escorted or not, you're in beautiful countryside with a tipple at the end of it. Pure joy to any wine lover. I can also tell you that you will not be robbed in the shop. Whilst not cheap, their prices are very reasonable and the wine tasting is an education. A well worth visit if you are in Kent.
Paul B — Google review
Came here on one of the weekdays. This vineyard is amazing, they offer £10 wine tasting tour where you get to walk at the vineyard and towards the end you get three glasses to taste. If you get a bottle from there, you get £5 rebate. It’s a really nice place to visit looking at the staffs plucking the grapes and also the factory making the wine. Would recommend others to come here for sure.

We had an excellent private tour with Barbara. Very informative but laid-back and friendly. All the wines we tasted were excellent and the sharing platter was delicious. Would absolutely recommend a visit!
Jane K — Google review
Definitely worth a visit. You can taste their locally produced wines. They also sell other local goodies like honey and jams. The vineyard is open for walks which is great. On a nice summer day it is a beautiful place to visit. The staff is very friendly. Parking is free. It is close to the village which is also worth a visit.

Simpsons Wine Estate, established in 2014 in the picturesque Elham Valley of Kent, is a haven for wine enthusiasts. The estate's location on the sunny slopes of Barham village provides an ideal environment for cultivating grapes used in their exquisite sparkling and still wines. Visitors can enjoy wine tasting sessions in the elegant Glass House and partake in winery tours to learn about the winemaking process.
We finally managed to have a tour and tasting today, after Covid had cancelled it twice before. We had an informative tour around the vineyard, and then a tour around the winery, in a relaxed manner, with plenty of laughter. Then we had a proper tasting in the bar upstairs, and a few good goes down the adult slide! We’ll with the price and time. Sylvia could not have been better, and was a great tour guide and supplier of fine wines, still and sparkling for tasting. And the best bit, it was adults only, no children - keep it that way!!
Steve W — Google review
My husband and I had the most wonderful wine tasting experience at Simpsons. From the moment I enquired to book the experience, Julie was incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating. It was the best wine tasting I’ve had the pleasure of doing, a mixture of educational, fun and of course… trying their delicious wine! I will keep it a secret but there’s also two ways to exit the building - one way is a lot of fun! Thank you Julie and the team, we will definitely be back!!

I joined The Thanet Wine Appreciation Society, (believed to be the largest independent society in the country) some 42 years ago. In those days wine from Britain did not really exist in any great commercial quantities or quality for that matter! 20 years ago Vineyards began to appear in selected areas on a small scale. 10 years ago there were many vineyards in Great Britain specially in the south east all producing their wines as best they could. In the last five or 10 years quality of wines has exploded across the South east of England and our society’s visit to Simpsons it’s probably the crowning glory of all the annual wine discovery trips that TWAS as taken both here in the U.K., but also in Germany, in Italy and France and other areas of the eurozone. The Simpsons Estate, has showcased the outstanding quality that this country can now produce given some knowledgeable owners and their staff. Ruth and Charles Simpson are two of these owners and I raise my glass to them!!! The gem that is the Elham Valley is by nature, hidden away in the Kent countryside however despite its restrictive narrow lanes, our huge Coach managed (with permission) to get to the vineyard and by kind with arrangement we were able to drive in amongst the vines with our coach. This is not something for the faint hearted coach drivers but it enabled members to be right in the thick of it, right from the start and then for Julie and Oliver to present us their British wines of excellence, that was the crowning delight. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble in addition to the fabulous wines, all of which had great interest, even if red, sparkling or white was not your choice and all of them were fabulous on the nose and pallet. All had impressive length! The high quality of British wines has definitely arrived at the English, ‘Simpsons Wine Estate’ in the Elham valley. Bravo!!! Olivier Wright.

We visited Simpsons winery today and we had a simply amazing experiece with Julie there. She was engaging, knowledgeable and a lot of fun! She spent more time with us than was scheduled and she answered all our questions with passion and dedication. The wines - which we knew well from before - were as usual amazing and complex. Really suggest any wine lovers out there to have a detour here 😊

We hosted an incredible tasting evening at our restaurant last night which was hosted by Julie. Her efforts and knowledge really wowed our guests with your delicious wines. We love all your wines as they all taste so good and are a perfect match to our menus. Thank you for making the evening sparkle!

Simpsons Estate produces wonderful Sparkling wines and still wines in beautiful Kent. 😊
Leena S — Google review
We visited to exchange a faulty bottle that we had purchased from them as part of a few cases to help support during the early stages of Covid. We had a delightful impromptu tour of the winery, hosted by Sylvie, and then an in-depth and informative tasting with Henry. So far so very good. We purchased 12 bottles - UNAWARE THAT WE WERE PAYING OVER £100 MORE FOR THESE THAN BUYING FROM ONLINE RETAILERS. Please therefore be warned, as I would not want future visitors to be under any illusion that buying at this winery (as opposed to many others we have visited at home and overseas) is a good option. Simpsons have now agreed that we can return the wine to them for a refund, after deducting shipping costs, which of course is helpful but is not really the point here. 4 STARS FOR THE VISIT, 0 STARS FOR THE PRICING POLICY (especially after telling us how they like to reward their best clients individually rather than having a mass market loyalty scheme etc). Simpsons make good wines, but they have a lot to learn about looking after their loyal clients!

Balfour Winery, located on the Hush Heath Estate in Kent, offers self-guided and expert-led tours of vineyards and orchards, as well as winery visits, tastings, and a shop. The Goudhurst Inn is a charming hotel and pub restaurant dating back to the 14th century that has been recently refurbished by Balfour Hospitality. They are known for their vegan-friendly wines, beers, and ciders.
A beautiful experience in the heart of the Kent countryside. The 40-minute walk through the vineyards is scenic and peaceful — perfect for anyone who enjoys a quiet stroll surrounded by nature. We originally sat outside on the stunning outdoor deck for our wine tasting, but there were too many wasps, so we moved indoors. Luckily, the indoor setting was just as charming. The tasting offers two options: 3 glasses for £15 6 glasses for £30 Great value for money, especially considering the quality of the wine and the care put into the whole experience. The wines were well chosen and thoughtfully explained. Overall, a lovely way to spend an afternoon — good wine, friendly service, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Visited for a tour and tasting on a Saturday in July. We were on the first tour of the day at 10:30am - this may not always be the case, but it felt like we had a smaller group size than later tours as a result (7 in total) which was nice. Our guide Sharon was very knowledgable and friendly, and added lots of personal anecdotes to the tour, adapting it to give us more time/information on the points we were most interested in. The tour involved walking through lots of the vineyards and learning about the different vines and challenges that come with growing them. I’d say it involved seeing more of the estate than I experienced at Chapel Down - I was glad to have comfy shoes! The production side is mostly shown through a video - it’s a shame you can’t see it in person as this would’ve balanced the time spent out in the fields, but they are a working winery so it makes sense that they don’t want lots of visitors getting in the way! It was a fair bit more expensive compared to other tours and tastings I’ve done (£70pp at Balfour, vs £35 at Chapel Down, £32 at Squerryes and £35 at Mount Vineyard - although this last one doesn’t include a tour). For the price to be double, I’d maybe expect a few light nibbles thrown in and more detailed instruction on how to properly taste each wine and a fuller explanation of the flavours that are present. The pours were fairly generous and you do get to try six wines (on the upper end of tastings I’ve done), but it feels like there’s something slightly missing for the price point, hence the four stars. The six wines we tasted only included whites and sparkling, but this wasn’t a problem as the staff at the bar were more than happy to let us try the reds afterwards, which were amazing! I can’t recall the barman’s name, but he was brilliant. We loved hearing about his favourites and recommendations, and we ended up bringing a few bottles home - the Albariño, Luke’s pinot noir and Leslie’s Gold NV. With the discount provided at the tour these were very reasonably priced. We weren’t able to stay for food but it looked amazing, especially on a warm sunny day. Would love to come back and stay for a leisurely lunch in future. If you’ve done wine tastings before then I’d maybe come for a wander round by yourself (you don’t need to be on a tour to explore the grounds) and then order the wines you like and enjoy the beautiful setting with a bite to eat.

We had such a lovely day but a few things that let this place down for me. They were completely understaffed and had such poor service due to being understaffed. We had to keep going up to the waiters/waitresses at the till to order any food or drinks, we didn’t have anyone come up to us proactively once. They have a huge wasp problem, every single table was absolutely swarmed. The second our food hit the table we had about 40wasps swarming around us and our food which was really horrible. The waiters looked a bit embarrassed and ran off when we mentioned it. Apparently they’ve had this issue all summer but they hadn’t put anything in place to help which just ruined our meal really. We had to put some of our chutneys on the floor away from the table to get rid of the wasps. We also asked the waiters 2/3 times to clear our plates (to get rid of the wasps) to no avail and came back from a walk around the vineyard to a table full of plates still. We ordered food at 3pm on a Saturday (they close at 9pm) and they had ran out of all of the flatbreads which meant our meal was just cheese, meats and breads. We were all starving when we got back! Such a shame, still had a lovely day but don’t think I would go back or recommend. Had a much nicer experience at other vineyards in the UK.

We stopped by on our way home, didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. We went into the restaurant and tried the 6 items sharing plate which was great value for money. Each individual dishes were all very nicely done, we particularly enjoyed the mushroom pate, prawn and courgette salad and mackerel salad the most. We also ordered the non-alcoholic sparkling white and rose wine, both were delicious. The surrounding area was very pretty as well, and there is an option to do a self guided tour, but it started raining so we didn't get to do that. All the staffs were super friendly and the lady who look after the shop in particular was very helpful. Overall a great experience, we would definitely come back again for a proper lunch and try out all the wines!

Fantastic experience, travelled from London and the free shuttle makes the journey so much more convenient and easy compared to other vineyards. The food was fantastic and the wine even better. Particularly enjoyed Leslie's brut rosé. My only crisitscm is there was no music playing outside on the terrace which would add to an even more fantastic atmosphere. The service was a little slow but it was busy they had 450 people booked in and there was still space to fit everyone that wanted to sit outside, and tables seemed to turn quite quickly.

A beautiful setting with generous tasting servings. Wines were delicious and the platter food quality surpassed expectations. Will definitely visit again.

This is a magical oasis and a wonderful day out . You book a wine tour and lunch and what you receive in return is a hospitality experience of the very highest calibre. We were in a large group of 14 a mix of corporates ( loud and giggly) couples and travelers . Lesley our guide did her best to keep some order as we gambled amongst the vines and gave us an overview of the viticulture process , the history of Bafour and its foundation . We visited late August and no matter the weather walking in this beautiful Kent country side is a wonderful experience, out through the vineyard and back via the woods . We then sat inside in a stunning glass walled boardroom style set up and tasted six wines sparkling and white . We did not taste any red or beers or cider which was a missed opportunity. The wine making process is converted by a video that was created many years ago it felt , difficult to see the screen in the corner with so many folk a screen on the wall at the head of the table would have been more comfortable . The Rosé sparkling was the star and The standout of the tasting one of the best of the British sparkling wines . We are conditioned to French Spanish and southern hemisphere wines that it was painful to watch the English still table wines being tasted but not drunk . As global warming takes hold and we get longer hotter summers the gap to sure to close but at what cost . We had lunch upstairs in the most stunning environment with breath taking views of the vineyard and rolling Kent hills . Surrounded by beautiful art and tastefully chosen furnishing this is top draw . The food was excellent scallops perfectly seared plump sweet and succulent , sardines filleted and perfectly partnered with tomato herb and garlic . We had to ask for bread to mop up the wonderful juices . Mains we went for pork filet perfectly cooked but dull in it’s presentation , the cooking juices not enough and this dish cry Ed out for a jus or sauce to bring the dish together, and had obviously sat a while before arriving at our table , and cod roulade was a little overcooked and drowning in sauce . Bread and butter pudding was succulent full of blueberries and served with the most excellent crème anglaise , cheese was generous served with quince and chutney a crowning glory to our meal and The food is solid tasty and well executed on the whole and a wonderful experience. Service was attentive and it was inspiring to see good young people learning a trade guided by more experienced professionals.

Fantastic place - the most beautiful views over the vineyards for my mum’s 60th lunch. We had the sharing platters and a tasting (highly recommend Skye’s Chardonnay) which was all delicious. The staff were extremely lovely and accommodating to make the birthday feel a bit special with an extra touch. Thank you Balfour team! What a lovely experience at the cellar door.

Nestled in the charming village of Shoreham, The Mount Vineyard covers 28 acres and boasts a picturesque setting with delightful pubs that exude a cozy atmosphere all year round. This boutique vineyard in Kent is a well-kept secret, featuring 10 acres of vines that yield award-winning sparkling and still wines.
Had a great experience at the Mount Vineyard. Visited for a birthday trip, we got to taste 4 different wines which were accompanied by a tasty cheeseboard. The hosts were very knowledgeable about each wine we tasted ( you can also purchase the wines on site). After the tasting session we headed out into the grounds to take some pictures before heading into the restaurant for a beautiful lunch. The vineyard is about a 10 min walk from Shoreham train station which is really handy. The staff are very warm and welcoming and there is a nice lil gift shop on site where you can purchase homemade biscuits, chutneys honey etc. Definitely worth a visit.

Great Atmosphere & Stunning Views Recently went for Fathers Day at The Mount in Shoreham and was really impressed. The views are absolutely beautiful, and the pub has a warm, welcoming vibe. Highly recommend a visit!!! This is a beautiful winery with delicious food! You can do a self guided tasting or a fully led tour and tasting. Self guided you could choose either still or sparkling and there was a delicious array of picnic food in the shop, so we had a little picnic outside. Such a good day trip

The restaurant here was a lovely setting, you had the choice of sitting inside or outside next to a pond. Food here was good, my wife enjoyed her burrata and, while I would prefer less cheese on a thin crust pizza, my Mount Etna was delicious. The crust was very, very, thin and extremely crispy. I had the Mount Vineyard Pale Ale and it was great, a perfect end to a very hot day!

One of the best Sunday spots to go and eat. From the beautiful acre vineyard it is set it in to the wood fired pizza oven, that calls for a retractable roof to let the heat out this place just dosent miss. 40 pound wine and cheese tasting is must with a very knowledgeable host. We probably come here twice a month because it's that good

The Mount Vineyard is such an easy day trip from London, no taxi needed from the station. The pizzas were delicious, the salads fresh and flavoursome, and the wine was reasonably priced. We did a wine tasting which was good a great way to try a mix of what they offer and learn about their wines. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but if you’re after something more casual, the outdoor area is perfect for a drink and a bite in the sun. Everything feels thoughtfully done.

Squerryes Winery is located in the picturesque Kent Downs, set within a sprawling 2,500-acre estate. It offers an ideal retreat for wine enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Guests can explore the vineyard and visit Squerryes Court, the historic family home of the Wardes. The winery also boasts a newly constructed terrace that provides stunning views of the vineyards, where visitors can indulge in delicious seafood tapas and Sunday brunch menus.
Sunday lunch in the main restaurant was delightful. The physical warmth that hits you from arriving at the entrance to the friendly and attentive service leads up to a meal of Michelin quality but without any of the pretence that goes with it. Every ingredient on the Sunday lunch menu had a stand out flavour in its own right leaving the roast beef to take centre stage. Thank you to Seamus and his team for making my wife’s birthday lunch so memorable and for Mario and the front of house team for making sure that the art of hospitality delivered on the interpersonal front. We must have told at least ten people about it since yesterday and we will keep talking about it I am sure. A proper job indeed and a true find indeed.

We came here for lunch with some friends. We had a table outside on the main terrace. The menu was seasonal and had a good selection. However, one diner in our party ordered the squid. The dish was extremely salty. Our waiter was curt and short with us when a complaint was put in. A replacement starter was offered, which was lovely. My oysters were beautiful and served at the right temperature. My main dish, beef ragu was also great. The sparkling in house wine ( Squerryes) was excellent. Overall, my experience was good but tainted by the attitude of our waiter throughout service. All other staff members were friendly and helpful. Squerryes is a lovely restaurant and I would return.

Fantastic experience on the tour and tasting. Steve was a fantastic tour guide and the wines were divine! I’d strongly recommend this for anyone who is interested in wines or just fancies a unique day out not too far from London (my partner and I travelled by public transport from central London and it was very easy to get to).

A mixed review. We’ve been before and the food and service was excellent, this time was a little different. I’ll start by saying the service was extremely slow, and there were only about 5 active tables. In general the food was good, but our squid starter was inedible as it was so so salty. We complained to the waiter who told us that’s the way it comes if you don’t like order something else, we were not impressed by that response. We swapped for buratta which was delicious. Oysters were great, fish lovely. However, for the price we paid we were less than impressed with our waiters attitude. Seemed very clear he didn’t want to be there, and was to be honest verging on rude. For locals a bit disappointed as we took friends there for a special occasion. Management needs to sort out attitude of some of the staff!

A wonderful venue whether taking in a tour of the vineyard, wine tasting or visiting the restaurant. Staff are excellent, the food superb and the location looks out onto beautiful Kent countryside. Our guests really enjoyed the wine tasting experience, trying several vintages and learning about grapes and viticulture, hosted on the terrace ona summer evening. Perfect!

We had a wonderful mid-week lunch at the restaurant. The lunchtime set menu is very reasonable and each of our courses were beautifully presented, a good portion size and delicious. The bread, the mushroom risotto, the cod and the fig custard tart were all divine. And of course, the sparking wine was the perfect accompaniment! The restaurant is in a beautiful setting, with nice views over the vineyard. The restaurant itself is a very relaxed but classy setting, perfect for a family lunch or a special occasion. The service was excellent - timely but not rushed - making it a very enjoyable experience, so special thank you to our waitress Abby. We will definitely be back!

Gusbourne Estate, located in the village of Appledore, offers a delightful outdoor experience with a specially designed picnic spot at the top of their Boot Hill vineyard. Visitors can savor the stunning views while enjoying a picnic featuring locally sourced artisanal products and a bottle of Gusbourne Brut Reserve. This sprawling wine estate is known for its exceptional sparkling wines that blend age-old traditions with modern winemaking techniques.
We visited on Good Friday with another couple and had an amazing experience from start to finish. Our guide Patricia was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and the tour was very interesting. We had around 11 glasses of wine overall and were talked through each. Back at the Nest, the three course meal was delicious and it was a treat when the chef came along at the end to talk us through the menus and ingredients. Although £120 pp seemed initially expensive, we thought it was actually really good value for money considering the amount of food, wine and knowledge we got during our tour. Book a taxi- don’t drive as you’ll regret it!

We were welcomed warmly as we approached the vineyard and given an explanation as to how the tour and lunch would work. We then were guided to our room where our lunch would be held and given a lovely glass of sparkling wine and a chance to mingle with others in the group. The tour was a walking one through the vineyard but as I had mobility problems we were able to follow the group in a golf buggy. Our driver Chris and our guide Patricia were relaxed informal and incredibly knowledgeable. Then back to our room for lunch. In front of us were 4 wine glasses and various sparkling wines were poured into them for us to taste/drink. The wines were constantly topped up for us which was very generous. The food arrived about 20 minutes later, which was delicious and beautifully presented. I would have given 5 stars but felt the name of each wine wasn’t always clear (especially after a few top ups!). I would have loved it if each of the wines were listed/numbered on the back of the menu or on a separate card we could take home and/or use as a guide to purchase one of the seven wines were tasted. Also I would have been good if a clear explanation was given to explain which of the four wines in front of us at lunch were to be paired with which course. I would definitely recommend this tour but that extra touch would have made it even better.

What a fabulous place the Gusbourne Estate is — we had a great tasting of the sparkling wines led by Daniel, and then a superb vineyard tour, where we were educated and entertained by the very lovely Tracey. The weather was good, the grapes were bursting (picking started the day after we visited) and it’s a really welcoming, peaceful, beautiful estate. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous picnic at Gusbourne. The food and sparkling wine were amazing (all local produce) and the staff were very attentive. Unfortunately they were suffering with a plague of wasps when we visited so they gave us the option of picnicking in the vineyard or eating indoors the restaurant. We took our chances outside to enjoy the views, but retreated indoors after the wasps found us! The staff were super apologetic, but it's just one of those things that you can't control and once indoors we were treated to extra wine tastings. Sadly I hear they are stopping the picnics because of uncertainty with regards to weather and insects, but a new menu option will launch next year.

We had such a wonderful visit to Gusbourne! Just an hour from London, it’s the perfect countryside escape. Andrew was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tasting really engaging, he shared so much about the vineyard and the wines. The 51°N sparkling was our absolute favorite. Beautiful setting, welcoming staff, and even dog friendly! Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience English sparkling at its best.

We had so much fun here! Anna gave us a lovely tour of the vineyard (which happened to be private as no one else booked) and was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable on the history of the wine and the estate. We had a picnic under the canvas with all sorts of delicious local bits and bobs and a whole bottle of sparkling wine to share between 2. This was followed by a tasting supervised by Chris, whose attention we may have unfairly hogged due to his pleasant demeanour and unending knowledge on wine in general and on the wines he oversees. We would absolutely recommend a visit here, and state that the Blanc de Noirs, Pinot Noir, and the Rose were especially delicious. Thank you especially to Anna and Chris for making our visit such a pleasure.

I visited with my sister earlier this month for our birthday. We're not massively into wine but the whole experience (tour followed by lunch) was fantastic. Given 4 stars as the dessert portion was quite small and the company are unable to accommodate for birthdays with a small gesture such as a cake, or happy birthday written on desserts even if customers are willing to pay. 5 stars for Paul though, he was a wonderful host and would be the reason that I'd return again. Thanks for making our day so special Paul!!

Estate tour, wine tasting and lunch. A fabulous experience. From the moment we arrived until we left, some 4 hours later, our tour experience was exceptional. Friendly, welcoming staff set the tone for the day which included an estate tour, extended wine tasting of exceptional sparkling English wines and a delicious 3 course lunch served with paired wines. This is not your average tasting but one that is generous and delivered with great enthusiasm and care. Special mention has to go to Paul our host for the day. Paul is incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and clearly enjoys his job and the wines! Having been part of this experience, who wouldn’t be. We would highly recommend this tour and look forward to enjoying our purchases from the wine store.

Nestled in the heart of the UK, Oxney Organic Estate stands as the largest single organic vineyard, sprawling over 35 acres. This remarkable estate is responsible for producing around 20% of all organic grapes in the country and is renowned for its exquisite English sparkling wines, alongside delightful whites and rosés. Visitors can indulge in a captivating 90-minute guided tour and tasting experience every Saturday from April to November, where they can savor their exceptional wines served in elegant Reidel champagne glasses.
We spent a weekend at the winery in the Vineyard house with a group of friends and had an amazing time. The house is beautiful and well-equipped, and the wine was fantastic. The tour was great, and the picnic, featuring local products, was a real highlight (we especially loved the cheese!) We loved our time here and would happily return.

We visited the area during a wine staycation visiting 6 vineyards over 4 days. We visited Chapel Down, Gusbourne, Charles Plamer, Woodchurch, Oxney Organic and Wayfarer doing a tour and tastings at each. Such an interesting place to visit. Everyone and everything tells you it should be impossible to successfully grow commercial grapes and make a viable wine business from organic grapes in England. Oxney proves without a shadow of a doubt it is possible and thriving. You can tell the considerable thought that has gone into the planting, distribution and design of the vineyard to protect the grapes and support their growth. It was a pity our host was more a tour guide than knowledgeable in the growing and making of the wine as this really interest me – it would be great if they offered special tours with someone with this knowledge. But don’t get me wrong the tour was great fun and lots of wines to taste! I really did have to be extra careful to make sure I stayed under the limit, and my wife was very happy by the end of the tour – especially as we had visited another vineyard that morning! The place is an interesting mix of old and new. The vines look rustic with so much growth around the vines – no manicuring of the grounds here- so many wildflowers for insects and wildlife, the off the grid shepherd hut people can stay in, the listed Oast building they have done up beautifully for the shop and tasting room. Then they have a state of the art pressing and storage facility with a mix of stainless stell, oak and even a solera system – something I know about from rum but only recently found out is possible with wine – again something I would love to understand to greater detail. The wines as you would expect is full of flavour and delicious. The fact they export outside the UK tells you all you need to know.

Really great tour, tasting and picnic. This is a very small but perfectly formed winery. Paola who did the tour and tasting was very knowledgeable and the wines were excellent. We enjoyed the picnic lunch which was plenty for two of us. Two types of bread with lots of cheese, venison charcuterie, crackers, apple and an excellent brownie with a glass of rosé. They also serve their wines by the glass which were good value . £5 for an extra glass.

We stayed for two nights in a Shepherd's Hut and had a tour of the vineyard and winery with a picnic to follow the tastings. Everything was excellent and we would recommend it to all. We were impressed by the quality of the wines and purchased some to take home, the amount being limited by space around our luggage in the boot of our car.

What a fantastic day at Oxney! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed (including being greeted by the owner’s gorgeous dog, Frieda) . The tour was informative, entertaining and it was an added perk that it was a more intimate group so we could ask questions etc, the tasting was also fantastic and the picnic, with included wine, really added to the whole experience. 10/10.

I booked a wine tour for our 10 year anniversary as it was near where we were staying. It did not disappoint. Kristin was a superb and knowledgeable host who you could tell loves making wine. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. If you book a tour you must book the picnic lunch as it was delicious with locally sourced produce. As for the wine... It is award winning and organic so there is nothing more to say... It was delicious. Even as a non-wine drinker I could easily drink the wine you produce it is amazing. Thank you all for making our day special.

Such a wonderful visit to this estate! Kristin & Paul were amazingly friendly & their love for what they're doing shone through their hospitality. Really great wines, and the fact they're doing the hard work of farming organically in a place like the UK where disease pressure is omnipresent puts a point on how dedicated they are to the craft. Make sure to pay them a visit!

Great winery to visit. Especially for a tour there is a lot of interesting stuff to learn about wine making and what are the needed ingredients for it. Also the tasting is great as you can learn about each wine from the owners.

Excellent vineyard experience. Had a tour and a tasting which was very enjoyable. Bought 4 bottles of the English Sparking Wine, we had decided this should be called Scepter. Richard the owner did the tour, he was very passionate and likeable. I love how the whole town come out to help during harvest. I hope these smaller vineyards survive the big multinationals that are coming in to the area.

Yotes Court Vineyard, nestled between the charming villages of West Peckham and Mereworth in Kent, may easily be mistaken for a picturesque spot in Tuscany or Napa Valley. Initially a fruit farm, this 75-acre modern venture was meticulously transformed into a vineyard by Master of Wine Stephen Skelton in 2016. While initially supplying grapes exclusively to Chapel Down, the Yotes Court brand emerged in 2018.
What a lovely vineyard to visit. Great selection of their new wines. It is set in a lovely countryside setting oveooking all the vines, which are all around the Yotes Court buildings. We had a very tasty chees board whilst trying their wine flight of four wines plus an extra tasting of their sparkling wine.

Worth a visit just for the stunning view over the Kent countryside, however it would be a shame to miss out the wine! The vineyard tour was very interesting and informative, as we walked through several vine fields learning about different grapes being grown. The afternoon was topped off with tasting of several Yotes Court’s wines, and the. some time talking in the beautiful vista. An interesting visit even if you’re not a wine buff!

4 of us booked the "tour and tasting experience" and what a wonderful couple of hours with a wealth of knowledge parted by James, our host for the experience. Given the last time we had tried English wine was circa 30 years ago we were blown away and are truly converted. The location is wonderful and would certainly recommend the tour as well as having a cheeky glass on a sunny afternoon, the view are beautiful. The wines are fantastic too 👌😉. You will not be disappointed.

Nestled amidst the picturesque rolling hills of Kent, Woodchurch Wine is a captivating estate that boasts 400 acres of lush vineyards, apple orchards, and vibrant wildflower meadows. This family-owned vineyard has quickly established itself as a prominent player in the local wine scene since its inception. The estate is managed by Richard Balfour-Lynn and his family, who have called Hush Heath Manor home since the 1980s.
What a stunning spot and amazing wine. The terrace overlooking the vineyard is beautiful, the wine is delicious, the food was the perfect accompaniment. We were very happy bunnies and if we lived locally would be back all the time! Thanks for having us Graham and the blankets were a great touch!

We visited the area during a wine staycation visiting 6 vineyards over 4 days. We visited Chapel Down, Gusbourne, Charles Plamer, Woodchurch, Oxney Organic and Wayfarer doing a tour and tastings at each. A lovely small vineyard run by the Graham Barbour (not related to the fashion house) and supported by his wife Donna. Graham is such a character – so much fun being taken around by the owner especially as he holds nothing back about the good and not so fun things about growing grapes and making wine. The tasting rooms offers stunning views and shelter upstairs, which was fortunate as the summer decided to take a holiday and we had grey skies, cold wind with rain as we headed back from the vines. Luckly, we came at the weekend when the pizza oven was on – such good pizza – definitely worth a trip here for this as well as the quality wines. As you expect from a small winery, they only make a few bottles the sparkling white and rose and then currently a couple of 2023 still wines. But this means they really focus on the final product to be as good as it can be.

A lovely winery and tasting rooms/restaurant! We were a walk-in and had no problem finding a table. Very friendly owners, lovely wines, stunning scenery, and the food looked delicious too (we didn’t have any, but saw other tables’ orders and they looked yummy, especially the wood fire pizzas). There is another winery within an easy walking distance, so it’s a great way to spend an afternoon sampling and learning about various local wines!

Can’t say enough good things about the tour and lunch I enjoyed at Woodchurch Wine today. Graham was such a knowledgeable and hospitable host - explaining the history of his vineyard and the ethos he and his wife have in creating their beautiful wines - in a thoroughly engaging and unpretentious way. I learnt so much! The wine tasting was fabulous - everything was delicious and Graham was able to guide us brilliantly - and lunch was also excellent - the cheese and Mediterranean boards were spot on. All was great value. Highly recommended!

Very nice vineyard out in the countryside. Easy to find, not loads of parking but we didn't have any trouble. Domaine Evremond is part of a group of Kent winemakers, including Gusbourne, Chapel Down, and others. This collective aims to showcase the evolving wine scene in southeastern England. Domaine Evremond is one of the notable members contributing to this fast-changing corner of the region.
Was very fortunate to be invited to a pre launch visit to Domaine Evremond today prior to its opening on Thursday. To get there : Find Badger Hill Garden Centre and follow the road to the entrance or take the train to Chilham and walk up (about 15-20 min walk through beautiful countryside) The vineyard’s stunning landscape with vines and fruit trees and a warm, welcoming atmosphere set the stage for an enjoyable wine tasting. Their classic Cuvee Edition 1, a beautifully crafted sparkling wine with rich red fruit notes that lingered on the palate. The blend at the end, a delicate touch of Chardonnay, added a wonderful freshness. Each sip, a delightful balance of complexity and finesse, showcasing the best of English wine traditions. (With guidance from the French) India and Jeremy were attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable. Guiding us around the vineyard and tasting. A special mention to Jackie, who looked after us throughout the visit. Her friendly, attentive service made the experience even more enjoyable. She ensured we felt like honored guests from start to finish. Whether you are a wine connoisseur or just looking for a wonderful day out in the Kent countryside, I highly recommend a visit. The wine, the setting and the service all combine for an unforgettable experience. Visit for a tasting ,tour or a glass / bottle of wine on the terrace. You may have to wait, I imagine this vineyard will be very popular. (There is currently no food available, but the Woolpack Inn in Chilham caters to that) Add it to your kent wine tour 🍷

Attended the first (public) wine tasting yesterday and so pleased I did. Their 1st edition sparkling wine is so good that I didn’t leave empty handed! It is a very drinkable, smooth but complex wine that I’m sure will be a firm favourite amongst those who enjoy a glass (or bottle) of sparkling wine or champagne. Huge thank you to India & Jeremy for the warm welcome, for sharing the fascinating history of the brand and the story of friendships! Plus providing just an all round lovely experience. Highly recommend a visit to this special Kent winery and doing a tasting or tour. Looking forward to returning to sit on the terrace in the sunshine, overlooking the beautiful vines and views over the Kent countryside.

This delightful new winery, which opened in Spring 2025, is a joint venture between the French Champagne house Taittinger and the UK wine company Hatch Mansfield. They specialise in quality sparkling wine produced from local vineyards. Most other reviewers have commented favourably on the tours and the first edition Cuvee. Obviously, a new winery won’t offer the same experience as Taittinger's world-famous cellars in Reims. However, if you love wine and winemaking, this is an opportunity to witness the birth of something rather special. The excellent Kentish terroir and the founders' passion shine through. The winery nestles in a scenic valley near the picturesque village of Chilham, surrounded by a patchwork of vineyards, orchards, fields and woodlands. The building has an interesting texture that sits well with the environment. There's a terrace with seating where you can enjoy the splendid view while sipping your wine. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat before/after your visit, there are several good options in Chilham including the cosy Church Mouse tearoom and The White Horse inn, both situated in the village square. If you fancy spending more time in the area, St Mary's Church in Chilham dates from the 13th Century and is open to visitors. Chilham Castle's extensive gardens are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The North Downs Way National Trail cuts through the village.

Look it’s a nice vineyard and tasting room, but the staff on the reception weren’t particularly welcoming and the wine was not the best. The staff on the tour were nice and did their best. I expect later bottles will be better as they only have one non vintage bottle on offer. The tour which cost £60 per person was a walk around the vineyards and two glasses of wine. Comparatively when visiting Reims you get so much more. The cellars were not open and therefore a huge part that was not used to their advantage. Tattinger champagne is on another level to this house at the moment.

We loved the tasting day on the very first day of opening. In a beautiful setting in the heart of Kent, you can enjoy a talk on the why wherefore of establishing a Tatinger champagne vineyard near Chilham in Kent. A lovely tasting champagne and made in this country. We just can't call it champagne! Easy to find and plenty of space for parking with electrical charging points included and disabled parking very close to the main building at the top of the hill. Enjoy the beautifully made stair approach from the car park to the main building. The building is architecturally beautifully made to suit the surrounding environment and has been well thought about and unusual. On a sunny day, nothing could be finer than sipping champagne at the outside table with great hillside views. Easy to get to, along the A20. Alternatively from the Faversham or Canterbury route or even Maidstone with great scenic views along the routes of the Kent countryside to be enjoyed.

We had a wonderful time at Bluebell Vineyard. It’s a peaceful place with beautiful views. We tried a rosé wine and a vintage sparkling wine, and both were amazing. It was a great day out in nature, and the wines made it even better. Cheers to Bluebell Vineyard for such a lovely experience! 🍷🌳

We visited today and had an amazing time. This was a wedding anniversary present from my husband and it did not disappoint. We got there early and spent time out on the terrace playing with the resident Lab, Bertie who loves playing ball! Howard, our host was fabulous. Aside from being very knowledgeable about all things wine and Bluebell, he was extremely personable and made sure everyone in the group (14 in total) were ok and enjoying the experience. I’m not a huge cheese lover, however, I enjoyed the fantastic cheese pairings that came with the wines. Howard poured generously, didn’t rush anyone whatsoever and kept the whole group engaged throughout. We stayed for another drink afterwards and were very sorry we had precooked our taxi to collect us when he did. We’ve done 3 vineyards in the UK, this is by far my favourite and I hope to one day come back to visit. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We visited Bluebell Vineyard on Wednesday 12th August in the morning. I’d seen online we were able to do a self guided tour of the estate and it was beautiful. Walking through the vines was lovely and the woodland was very pretty. We were the only visitors on site at the time and we were very fortunate to be able to have a private tasting with Alex. Alex was so friendly and took so much time with us to introduce us to English Sparking wine. So kind to give us a tasting on a day when there aren’t public tastings especially whilst manning the phone! She told us so much about the process of wine making, how to tell if wine is off (happily there was an oxidised bottle to compare with) and answered lots of questions. She even showed us the goats! It was such a great experience it felt like we were with an old friend by the end! We came away with a number of bottles and a wealth of knowledge about wine from our lovely host, a really enjoyable experience (she is right - the ruby sparkling tastes just like alcoholic Ribena!) please pass on our thanks to Alex for her hospitality, she could not have done more for us! Bluebell Vineyard is well worth a visit just for a walk of the vineyard but if you can definitely do a tasting (or just buy the Ruby Sparkling!) would like to do a tour next time we are back in Sussex. Unable to respond to your response Bluebell Team - please feel free to use on your website etc. :)

We came to the bluebell vineyard as a surprise for my partner’s birthday. It completely exceeded our expectations, mainly down to Keith, a wine expert and guide who took us around. The most interesting wine tour we’ve had (and we’ve done a few!) with fun facts thrown in! Keith is an asset to the Bluebell vineyard and we are incredibly grateful to him for making our trip extra special and one to remember. Aside from the tour, the wine tastes fantastic and we have bought a few bottles to take with us. Kevin (the winemaker) joined us for a glass at the end of the tasting- it was wonderful to meet the man behind such skilfully produced wine. Thank you for making it such a memorable day out for us! It is always an enriching experience to visit a vineyard. English wines and sparkling are quite young, to my humble opinion the main issue is that smell does not meet the taste which leads to disappointment in most of the cases. A beautiful place to visit though. The wine I like the most: the hind leap rose.
Cintia P — Google review
We had a brilliant time doing the tour with Keith, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wine was delicious and the cheese pairings are great. Best wine tasting I've ever done, despite the wet weather!
Felix K — Google review
We decided to do a self guided tour as there were no tours avaliable on the date that we wanted. We did a 40 minute tour which was lovely with beautiful scenery. We returned to the shop to buy some wine and were offered a glass of wine or wine tasting a very reasonable amount. We opted for wine tasting. Alex spent time to give us a lot of useful information about the wines avaliable at Bluebell and also other British wines and she was very complimentary about competitors which was refreshing. It was a great way to spend half an hour and the wines we tasted were lovely. We will definitely be returning to Bluebell to see the fruit on the vines and to gain more wine knowledge.
Tisha A — Google review
Great wine tasting experience - make it a day out by arriving early, enjoy a walk around the vines on your own followed by a tour and wine tasting and then try a long walk around - again. Get a few bottles (and cheese to go with it) before leaving - you will not easily find these elsewhere.

Absolutely amazing! We were visiting the area and found Barnsole on Google Maps as it was nearby and we all feel so lucky that we did! On arrival the team were so welcoming and really helped us in deciding what wines to go for. We all fell in love with their white wine, it was so unique to us and just tasted amazing. The location is amazing and though we didn’t get any food we did see some coming out and it looked amazing. If you are in the area or even if you aren’t, this place is worth the trip. This place is a gem and can see they are all passionate about what they have created. Pre-book for a tour! Perfect for small groups & big groups. You will not regret coming here for the day or just a few hours. Buy lots of wine!!

Our team had an absolutely fantastic day and an incredible experience at Barnsole Vineyard! Philip, our host, masterfully engaged our large corporate group throughout the day. His passion, knowledge, and entertaining approach shone through, and it was clear he's incredibly proud of his vineyard—and rightly so! The wine was exceptional, a true testament to the dedication of his family and the small team who run Barnsole. This is a fabulous British product that I've already purchased and will continue to enjoy. We wholeheartedly recommend Barnsole Vineyard for an outstanding event!

Thank you to Yannis for making our wine tasting and tour so pleasurable this afternoon. We recently spent a very enjoyable morning/afternoon wine tasting at this small, family run vineyard. The best way to describe our visit is first class. All of the family help with the business and you can tell that they're proud of their produce. As other reviewers have said, the cheese, bread and crackers were a very welcome addition to the whole experience. We had perfect weather for our visit, luckily. However, the wine tasting and food is under cover, should the weather change. Highly recommend

We spent a weekend at Terlingham and did a wine tasting whilst there. Terlingham is a family run business and everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful. The wine tasting was set in a lovely cabin overlooking the vineyards and we got to try 4 of their wines and their gin - all of them were delicious so we bought a few bottles to take away. You also get a sizeable cheeseboard to have alongside the wine and the option to buy more wine if you fancy staying a bit longer. The cottage was lovely and the perfect base for visiting Folkestone. We had a fantastic weekend and couldn't recommend more.

Cannot recommend enough. Family run vineyard. The tour given by two of the daughters was very informative and the wine was also very tasty. Absolutely beautiful place, really nice and welcoming hosts and the cheese board and cake that was supplied was top notch. Wine we tasted was fantastic. Books up fast but highly highly recommend
Jon D — Google review
Probably our best vineyard experience. Small in comparison to many but a lovely visit with very good explanation of their natural wine producing beliefs from the two lovely sister family members. Good samples of six of their current wines and then a cheese platter to help you discover the wines in more depth if required. What a brilliant visit, thank you.
Peter H — Google review
Went there for a private tasting and the hosts were lovely as was their sparkling wine! Not sure about the red - maybe Uk isn’t ready for it. The wine glasses they used were a tad too small and you couldn’t really swirl the wine to get the scents on the nose. They did serve cheese and cake though which was nice and accommodated for dietary requirements.

Winetastic. A beautiful spot between the Kent countryside and the sea. The ladies gave an informative talk on making wine without being too jargon. Pitched just right. Could not believe the sand is so smooth here where the beach elsewhere in the UK is so pebblish and hard to walk around. Could see some kids doing sand surfing and is a very dog-friendly place. There are tides at different periods and riptides at some area.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a fantastic day at Camber Sands Beach! The beach itself is absolutely stunning, with golden sands stretching for miles, perfect for a long walk or a relaxing day by the sea. The parking was easy and affordable, and it was great to see clean, well-maintained toilet facilities nearby too. A brilliant spot for a family day out, we’ll definitely be coming back!

Camber Sands is without doubt one of our absolute favourite beaches in the UK. It’s a stunning stretch of coastline with soft, rolling waves of golden sand that seem to go on forever – perfect for long walks, sandcastles, or just lounging in the sun. The kids absolutely love it here – they’re constantly darting between the water and the sand, always finding something to do. Whether it’s paddling in the shallows, digging holes, or chasing each other up and down the dunes, there’s never a dull moment. There’s plenty of parking available, which makes getting in and out stress-free, even on busier days. Around the area, you’ll find handy little shops selling beach toys and snacks, which is brilliant if you’ve forgotten a bucket or spade. And for food, you can’t go wrong – there are some excellent fish and chips spots nearby, ideal for a proper seaside lunch. Camber Sands has that rare mix of natural beauty and family-friendly amenities. It’s clean, spacious, and full of charm. Whether you’re visiting for the day or planning a longer stay, it’s a perfect beach for all ages. We never get tired of coming back!

I came here twice on two successive evenings during a visit to Rye. I had heard that this is a unique place for birdwatching, especially when the migrant birds stop over. August was therefore not the ideal time. But I observed at least 27 species, but in recent years 280 species of birds have been recorded on the Reserve, so I must come back for more. Entrance is free and the footpaths are mostly flat and accessible also for wheelchairs and there are a few bird hides. As usual in such nature reserves, one needs very good binoculars and/or a camera with an impressive zoom lens to capture the birds which are mostly a long way away. There is a Discovery Centre with a Café, but this closes early.

There are no words to describe the beauty of our time spent in the Nature Reserve! We could’ve spent a whole day here. Visited here 3 times this week whilst on holiday and every time everything was perfect. They are dog friendly and our dogs appeared very comfortable and they were very well behaved on each visit.. the menu is limited but is done very well. The roast is amazing and it is also worth getting the extra sides as the pigs in blankets are huge and the best sausages we have had and the cauliflower cheese with bacon is amazing. Staff are very friendly and create an easy atmosphere. It is a bit more expensive here but you get what you pay for and it really is worth it

This was tied for the best dining experience we had while visiting the UK and for what it's worth it was a small shop on a hill in Rye. I can't say enough good things about this place. The atmosphere and service were as good as it gets. Now for the food, locally sourced beef, vegetables, fruit and essentially the entire menu. The steak that my wife and I had and we have been to so many restaurants all over was arguably the best steak at a restaurant we've ever had. The sides were on point and the meal as a whole was exceptional. Should you find yourself in Rye this is a MUST VISIT!

We had the most amazing meal last night. I would suggest that you book a table as it was pure luck that they were able to accommodate us without a booking. This is a very cosy restaurant with an emphasis on delivering excellent food from local farmers. We both ordered the bavette which was cooked beautifully along with the mushrooms, tomatoes and locally grown skin on chips. Delicious! Would highly recommend the Rioja which is in my opinion a perfect accompaniment. Couldn't fault the meal, service or ambience.

Amazing lunch at Hoof on a Sunday afternoon. The food was good. And the service was extremely friendly and attentive. We had the goat cheese salad and the crispy squid for starters and the rump steak and the mussels for mains. All dishes were nicely prepared. I think the chips were one of the best I have tried. And most ingredients are sourced locally. For drinks we tried the local lager which was very good.

What an amazing tour and tasting. Sharon, led the show and honestly, what a great host, a must do! What a lovely few hours spent at the vineyard. The only comment I would make is that a tour/view of the cellar would top it amazingly! Nonetheless varied wines tasted, sparkling, white and red (not my favourite) complemented by a history of the first ORGANIC vineyard in England. Just go and experience it yourself!

We came to the vineyard for a tour and tasting. It was PERFECT. Absolutely lovely host (Inga), so knowledgeable and friendly. Not to mention inspiring, and interesting telling us all about their techniques and beliefs and the vineyard’s story. It was the perfect length - not too long; not too short. Picturesque, and the wine tasting room itself is LOVELY. A few of our group took bottles of wine home as souvenirs - wonderfully priced for the quality you have. And as we left, we saw people sat outside enjoying wine and snacks. Really appreciated there were vegan options too. Thank you for making our weekend so special.

Indian restaurant
Indian takeaway
On 23/05/2021, I visited Mahdi Lounge, a Bangladeshi restaurant located in Bromley Kent with my family and children. We received a warm welcome upon arrival, which has always been the case whenever we visit. The food at Mahdi Lounge is consistently excellent, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. They were extremely helpful in assisting our family with choosing from the menu and provided recommendations based on our preferences.
Absolutely amazing food and the staff were very attentive and always had a smile. Very very impressed and the food was so good. Definitely a place to go if in Rye.

Lovely food and great service. We had Mokta Gosht and Chicken Dhansak. Both nicely spiced and tasty dishes, and good portions for our appetites. Would visit again.

We did a take away. Coming from Asia their flavors are on point and super good! Better than some of the Indian restaurants we have been. must order the Jelfrezi chicken curry … super good.
Pris L — Google review
Delicious Indian food, made with care and well presented. The dishes were tasty and flavoursome. Being from Australia I found the vegetarian options a bit limited and onion heavy, however they were still nice. I will happily return to Mahdi Lounge when visiting Rye.

Copper Rivet Distillery is located in a beautiful red brick Victorian pump house overlooking the River Medway. The distillery offers tours that provide an immersive experience of the entire distillation process, from grain to glass, and culminate in a tasting of their gin and vodka. Visitors can gain insight into the botanicals used in the process and enjoy a complimentary gin and tonic at the end of the tour.
We were given a Gin Tour as a gift from friends Christmas and we finally got to the use our gift this weekend. I learned a great deal from the tour. The Guide was knowledgeable and delivered the tour at a great pace, explaining how they end up to with whiskey, vodka and gin. The time it takes and the process from start to finish. The samples were brilliant and the drink at the end was a nice touch as was the discount voucher. Such a beautiful place to visit. Can’t thank the staff enough for all they did to make this a great experience. Can’t wait to go back soon for more purchases and a drink in the garden overlooking the river once the weather gets warmer.
Julia L — Google review
It's a fantastic venue with great views from the terrace. Avoid the cocktails and stick to straight drinks.
Cosmo G — Google review
Lovely distillery bar inside; cool on a hot day and very quiet at around 1pm on a Sunday. Outside was also very quiet initially but soon got busier. Beautiful views of the river and of the castle on the other side. Would love to return. Strawberry gin not very sweet (maybe as it’s more “natural/authentic”? and would’ve stayed longer if they had any nibbles or food. I could’ve stayed much longer enjoying the sunshine and outdoor space but hubby was hungry so a shame they don’t serve some light bites at least. Would definitely return on a summer’s day.
Fiona T — Google review
Went on a tour of the distillery and it was really informative to understand how their produce is made. Once the tour was over, went into the restaurant to have a meal after, it was one of the best dining experiences I have had! The team working there are nice and friendly, a family run business! The food is immensely tasty and portions are not that big, but this is good as you’re not left feeling stuffed and overwhelmed. Will definitely be returning and would totally recommend this diamond of a restaurant 👌👌👌

Irana (sorry if I've spelt it incorrectly) is such a lovely person that made our experience so special. It was just the tonic we needed after a very sad summer (and I don't just mean the tasting) The history of the place is inspiring, the environment beautiful and Irana you made the experience interesting/educational, the quality of the fluids amazing 🤗 but most of all such fun. Thank you so much for a much needed positive experience X

Anthony was a fantastic tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed learning about their unique machinery producing vodka, gin and whiskey. His knowledge was both impeccable and entertaining. Although whiskey tours aren't common, they were more than accommodating for my grandads birthday, which we were so grateful for. The bar and restaurant after were beautifully aesthetic, and we enjoyed a delicious cheese board with our drinks. We will definitely be returning to take friends for tours, as well as restaurant evenings.

Had a fabulous tour and gin tasting today at Copper Rivet Distillery. Our tour guide, one of the family of founders was very interesting and informative. We had lots of generous tastings of a range of Gins and then were given a choice of Gin drinks in the lovely bar. Has a great deck for summer evenings ( a bit too breezy in November) Thorougly recommend.

We had a great experience at the Distillery yesterday, we went on the Gin Tour and Tasting and then later in the day the Cocktail Masterclass. Staff were lovely, and we got to learn about how they make their gin. Fully recommend!

Got a very nice bike, 3 months warranty even though pre owned which is a bonus! My charger malfunctioned at home but the Marcus and warren happily replaced it for me along with a quick service of my bike! Very friendly team would recommend!
Woozy T — Google review
I came across the UK Electric Bike Centre by happy accident, when visiting Headcorn Aerodrome. I had been considering getting an electric bike for a while, but what sealed it for me was the opportunity to test ride different bikes (something the local 'big chain' bike shops did not offer) as well as the sound advice Warren and Marcus gave regarding the type of bike that would suit my requirements. I ended up buying a bike from them (Ampere Deluxe Pro) which they delivered to my home, some 26 miles away. I've been very happy with my purchase and the bike copes easily with local steep hills with minimal effort from me. I'm getting on a bit now, so the latter was crucial.
Martin — Google review
Marcus and Warren clearly believe in the products they sell — but more than that, they’re passionate about sharing their knowledge and delivering truly personalised customer service. I originally tried to buy direct from a Belgian company that, unfortunately, lived up to its name — Cowboy. The experience was frustrating enough that I nearly gave up on getting an e-bike altogether. That’s when Marcus stepped in. He listened, understood what I was looking for, and recommended the Tenways Ago X. It’s exactly the hybrid style I needed — and it’s a joy to ride. In short: don’t hesitate. Buy an e-bike — and make sure you buy it from a company that genuinely looks after its customers. UK Electric Bike Centre is exactly that.
Mark — Google review
I bought an awesome ebike from Marcus and Warren. They both took time to explain the pros and cons of each bike and listened to what I wanted and then went out of their way to produce exactly the bike that was right for me - including different handle bar position and a more comfy saddle! Couldn't recommend them more highly.

Keith B — Google review
Really happy with the purchase of my first electric bike which is now helping me cycle around the lovely Kent countryside (including steep hills) with friends. The advice, help and 'tryout' at their premises in Headcorn, received from Marcus and Warren, was invaluable and helped me choose the best bike for me. This was after receiving some very confusing advice from friends and through research on bike forums and google searches. The bike I selected was their own model "Awesome" and I would highly recommend this as a 'user friendly' leisure bike.
Glyn M — Google review
Amazing service provided by UK Electric Bike Centre. Warren was very knowledgeable and hapy to help with what we needed and we ended up purchasing 2 e-bikes from them and cancelling a bike we had on order online! Would recommend to anyone looking to get an e-bike! Thanks for everything!

Had such a great day at Meopham Vineyard. It's such a beautiful setting. Surinder and the team really put a lot of effort into the tour, its lovely to see the effort the family put into the wines and it shows. 8 wines to try and finished off with cheese board highly recommend you go. After the tour your not rushed off you can stay and enjoy more wine whilst enjoying the views. Will definitely go back for another tour. Thank you again for accommodating us was a great birthday.

What a find. Fabulous experience. Suvinder’s passion for viticulture, Kentish wine and the story of his whole family and how they came to run this small but lovely vineyard was enjoyable, informative and fun. Highly recommend including a well-tutored tasting of some interesting wines all set in the beautiful countryside setting.

A gorgeous spot and lovely family business. We had a great afternoon at Meopham - they looked after us so well, even gave us a lift to the station in the rain. The information they shared was super interesting, and the family story is just lovely. Great wines, some of the best English wine I’ve had, and fantastic charcuterie. Will definitely be back!

What a perfect way to spend an afternoon! I’ve been to three other vineyard/wine tasting experiences (Chapel Down, Hattingley, and Carr Taylor) and this was by far my favourite. The experience took place under a canopy in one of their 25 acres, right by the vineyard. It began with a heartwarming story about how they became owners, followed by fascinating facts about their vineyards. Then came the wine tasting — eight wines in total: 4 still whites, 3 sparkling, and 1 red. We chose to enjoy the cheese and charcuterie board afterwards, along with a bottle of their fizz — absolutely delicious. We met the whole family, and there was never any rush to leave; in fact, we stayed for almost five hours! I cannot recommend this experience enough. Thank you so much, Surinder, for a wonderful afternoon.

We’ve done numerous wine tastings around Kent and Sussex, including with some big names-but this one was, by a country mile, the best. The Charcuterie board was delightful, and the people were even lovelier. Fun, informative , and filled with beautiful wines. Go there - you’ll love it.

What a lovely tour and tasting at Meopham Valley Vineyard. I took my Mum for her birthday and it was a lovely activity to do together. 🥂 I have been to many of the Kent vineyards and this one was different in a few ways. As it is a family business the experience has a real wholesome feel to it. We were led through the tasting by the owners Son, we also met his Sister who greeted us and helped us pick wines to buy/take home later and one of the owners (Mum) also showed up when we were eating and it was so nice to see how each family member has their role at the Vineyard and as a result they are passionate to ensure we all have an amazing experience. As the Vineyard is much smaller than others I have been to there is less of a "tour" as there is less to see but that doesn't take away from the fact we were sat in the gorgeous Kent countryside with a beautiful view of the vines and the fields sipping local wines. ☀️ The area for the tasting is sheltered so do consider bringing a light jacket in case there is a breeze. We went on a gorgeous summers day and was comfortable. The wines at Meophams are also really different, it is clear they are trying to do things differently and it was nice to take home a few wines that felt unique. I highly recommend the grazing board platter add on, it was one of the best of I have ever had for its range and portions. I would definitely come back ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Shanie P — Google review
We have just got back from here today as I brought the Vineyard tour and tasting as a gift for my mum for Mother’s Day and it was the best day out we have had this year. Surinder was an absolute pleasure, telling us about the history of the vineyard, how they produce the wine and how to truly get all the flavours when you taste it. He was so passionate about his job and the business him and his family run and are committed to continuing to grow. He informed us of all future events they are planning and on how they are planning on expanding their vineyard - we are planning on hopefully coming back for these future events. The views were amazing and the weather was there for the perfect day. The variety of wines to offer was vast and lovely. I brought 2 bottles of the red to take home with me to enjoy. The Charcuterie & Cheese Board was gorgeous and made fresh on site, he told us where they source all the food locally from other businesses. We will hopefully be coming here again in the future and I highly recommend it for a day out. It was a lovely day to learn new things about wine. Thank you to Surinder and the Meopham Valley Vineyard team.

Just been to a wine tasting session at Redhill Farm Estate. Henry was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The wines were fantastic, never tasted anything quite like them, so flavoursome and natural. Came away with 4 bottles!
Theresa P — Google review
It's a thumbs down from me I'm afraid. I bought the vineyard tour for my friend as a birthday treat and was disappointed by the whole experience. Firstly we struggled to find the meeting point as there was no signage. I had to go and find someone to check we were in the right place. As it's the owners home there was washing hanging out, bags of cement in the courtyard etc. There was no 'meet and greet' or glass of wine on arrival and we had to just sit there waiting for other people to turn up (they got lost). No toilet facilities were available either due to covid-19. We walked about 150 yards and that was the vineyard tour. Henry the owner himself seemed nice and it was good to hear his journey in creating the actual vineyard. However, if you're looking at buying this as a gift for someone, I would suggest you go to a more commercialised venue for the same price (like Hush Heath) as the service and experience is much more professional.

What an amazing experience this was. The brewery tour was just amazing. Ever since emigrating to the UK from South Africa, and living on the outskirts of Faversham, I have wanted to do this tour. My mother and sister have previously worked for Shepherd Neame. They arranged that I go on the tour. I was not disappointed. Such a great experience, and a memory I will have for a life time. The tour guide, Laura, what an amazing guide. You couldn't of asked for a better guide. Extremely knowledgeable, and at times, very funny as well. Out of the 21 people on the tour, none of them were from Faversham. It just go's to show you what an amazing Town ambassador Shepherd Neame are, for Faversham. They contribute to the towns Tourism in a massive way. Thank you again guys, that tour was amazing

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An excellent experience at the Shepherd Neame Brewery Tour! The tour was both informative and fun — a perfect blend of history, brewing knowledge, and local heritage. Our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the craft. It was fascinating to see behind the scenes of Britain's oldest brewer and learn how their beers are made. The tasting session at the end was a real highlight. We got to sample a great range of their beers, each with unique character and flavour. Whether you're a beer lover or just curious about the brewing process, this tour is a must-do if you're in the area. Highly recommended!

Go here from time to time . Its abit of a nightmare to get to as there's a low bridge one end and hgvs aren't allowed though the town . But the way I go in is you will do a sharp right turn then follow the road down and the yards on the left hand side . You will see the signs as you go into the yard no hgvs passed this point . That's the route into town I know it's abit confusing. But once your in the yard the forklift driver has you load off in no time . There the best people to ask if you do find yourself in a muddle as there from the area .

Enjoyed an excellent "Father's Day" gift this weekend, visiting the Shepherd Neame brewery. The tour was succinct and informative, reviewing each stage of the process of making beer. This is followed by a sample session at the end, rounding it off nicely. I would recommend a visit if you are in this lovely part of the country.

Martin made this tour, he is a extremely knowledgeable guide and very passionate about his beers. You walk around the brewery with your guide explaining how the various beers and larger are made. I'm not a great beer drinker but I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, and I learnt a lot about the whole process. A big thank you to Martin.

I got the brewery tour as a birthday gift and we absolutely loved it :-). Nice small brewery and very informative tour. Note-All I would say have some food before you go as, first of all, I was pretty drunk by the end ot the tasting and secondly no restaurants in Faversham do food from 3 to 6 and the tour finishes just after 3 o'clock. Overall very lovely experience.
