Cafe

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled on the outskirts of lively downtown Salt Lake City, Oasis Cafe is a charming eatery offering an array of creative dishes and vegetarian options in a setting adorned with art. The cafe provides a serene escape for breakfast and brunch, boasting indoor seating with a Zen-like ambiance and a picturesque outdoor patio. Guests can indulge in fluffy scrambled eggs, omelets, pancakes, as well as healthier choices like fruit and oatmeal.
I was in the mood for atmosphere on the patio . After googling something for the area of salt lake this popped up. The menu looked promising and it sure was. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the shade and a few drinks. The food was great! My mojito could have been stronger but hey Utah laws ?
Ronnette A — Google review
My friends and I came here for brunch and the food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was lovely and spacious. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio on a nice day. The reason I give it 4 stars is because the service was very slow and the coffee could have been much better. Other than that, the food is definitely worth coming back for.

Used to Love Oasis Café — But This Visit Was a Huge Disappointment I’ve always loved coming to the Oasis Café, and it’s been years (since before COVID) since my last visit. I was so excited to bring my girlfriend here today and show her how amazing it used to be… but wow — what a letdown. We ordered the chicken fajitas, which were highly recommended by our server, and they were honestly the worst chicken fajitas I’ve ever had in my life. How hard are fajitas to make? You slice up chicken, steak, and veggies, season them, and grill — simple. But what came out looked and tasted like a soupy, gooey, black molasses mess. It was sweet, strange, and completely inedible. It felt like a vegetarian chef who’s never actually tasted fajitas tried to reinvent them — and failed miserably. Our appetizer was okay (about a 6/10), but after that main course disaster, we skipped dessert and left. I’m honestly heartbroken because this place used to be one of my favorites. Please, if you read this — do not, under any circumstances, order the chicken fajitas.

As a vegetarian, I wasn’t a big fan of the food choices I picked. The interior and exterior were very cute, and the place was packed with people, so I assume they are popular for their non-vegetarian options. I ordered the pancake, a breakfast burrito, and the hummus platter. The pancake was pretty good — very fluffy and a bit reminiscent of cornbread. The hummus platter was decent. The burrito, however, was the main reason for my three-star rating. It was watery, lacked flavor, and the texture was just soggy. I wasn’t a fan of this dish at all. I’m also particular about water, and theirs did not taste good. It might have been the piping or just regular tap water, but it was unpleasant. Personally, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Great menu with healthy options. Had eggs Benedict which had spinach and tomato instead of Canadian bacon. Delicious! Our server, Adam, was very accommodating and friendly.
Debbie E — Google review
Brunch at 10 a.m. on a Saturday. Moderately busy, 20 minutes wait, checked out the book store in the interim. Ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine and added Applewood Bacon, the eggs bennie were dynamite, but the potatoes had that texture like they'd been hanging around a hotel pan for awhile. The coffee was aces, but I only received one refill as I was given the bill (boo!). One of those places that would probably be better all around when they're less busy.
Philo — Google review
Appreciated the free parking. Lots of seating available. The food was good and came out quickly. The breakfast sandwich was fresh tasting and really liked the German pancake. Not overly sweet.
Lindsey — Google review
I am giving this place five stars for being in Salt Lake City for so long, it is in a beautiful building, with outdoor seating, free parking, it is not only a cafe, but is home to the Golden Braid Bookstore as well. The Golden Braid Bookstore started out in a tiny shop that I frequented often. I am so happy they were able to expand and be in the heart of Salt Lake City. The Oasis Cafe has plenty of options and lots of seating. I personally prefer lunch, but breakfast is good too.

Nestled in a vibrant and stylish setting, Hub and Spoke Diner is a delightful culinary gem that reimagines classic diner fare with a creative twist. Brought to life by the same talented team behind popular local spots like Finca and Pago, this acclaimed eatery serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the week. The menu showcases an impressive array of comfort food made from high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.
I really enjoyed this place!! It’s a great brunch spot for friends/family with a solid array of options to choose from. Service was good, food was good – I don’t really have anything else to say, except try the sour cream pancakes!
Kymble J — Google review
The hub and spoke diner is a great place to go to get breakfast and lunch. They have free parking in front of the entrance. The food was really good, but the seasonal fruit just ended up being an orange. The person I was with loved the grits.

Love the vibe as soon as you walk in. Greeted and seated right away. Server was Madelyn she was full of personality and energy. We ordered the French toast, warm buttery, good eggy texture. Breakfast burrito had a good amt of chorizo with potatoes and cheese. Meat lover skillet - - sourdough base within a bath of beer/tomato sauce. Ham under cheese on top with short rib and halved sausage on the side. Topped with folded scrambled egg (normal top is sunny up). Flavors all mixed together, but nothing really stood out. Sausage could have been a bit spicier to give it some pop. Short was was tasty, but scant amount. I’m likely to get another option next visit as this didn’t hit all the things I like in a skillet dish. Had a side slice of sourdough. Pretty standard fare, but did not disappoint. The donut holes reminded me of the fairs funnel cake dough. Soft, pillowy with sugar and three dipping sauces: Carmel, dark chocolate, semi sweet. They are quick to clear table, wipe down sweet floors.

Awesome atmosphere and cool little place to visit. Got there before 9 and had no wait for 4 people. Food was alright, the kid pancake was delicious though. Had the biscuits and gravy and the biscuits was very dry and the potatoes had a little bit too much salt. Wife said her meat lovers skillet was okay as well. Not sure if it was just too early or what but was not super impressed with the food but would definitely give it another shot!
Greg A — Google review
This was a decent brunch! The chicken and waffles were pretty tasty. The chicken was nice and crispy and had a great batter on it. The food was fairly well seasoned but felt like it needed a little more oomph to really nail all the flavors. The service was alright, they stopped refilling my coffee after the food was brought out, and didn’t have any condiment trays out until I asked.
Zack D — Google review
I really wanted to love Hub & Spoke—it’s a cute spot with a great vibe, and the food was genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the service just didn’t match the quality of the food. We waited about 30 minutes without anyone coming to our table, and only after I flagged someone down did we get to place our order. After that, we didn't really see our server again. I understand places get busy, but it felt like we were completely overlooked. Hopefully just an off day, because the food and atmosphere have a lot of potential.
Laura J — Google review
Such a great option for brunch! It was extremely easy to make a reservation and we were seated right away, at the time of our our reservation. The menu has something for everyone, but my particular favorites are the Kentucky Hot Brown, the Chicken Sandwich, and the Chicken and Waffles, as they do these items extremely well. It's really rare for me to get poultry while eating out but Hub & Spoke just season and cook it well! I will say I didn't care for the potatoes, as they were just not crispy enough, but their fries are great! Also, I don't love the espresso beans they use, it's a lot more sour than I'm used to (not sure if it's Arabica or not). Service was fantastic, our hot coffees and water got refilled even though they were really busy on a Saturday morning and the vibes were just nice, and extremely cozy environment on a snowy day. We will definitely be back.
K S — Google review
Hub and Spoke Diner was a major disappointment during our recent visit. As Texans, we were excited to introduce some friends to this place after enjoying good food previously. Unfortunately, this time, we faced a series of issues. We weren't assigned a waiter, and after waiting for 20 minutes, we approached an older waitress who seemed startled and exhausted. She agreed to help us, but it felt like we were inconveniencing her. After taking our order, it took a long time for the food to arrive. On top of that, parking was horrible; they only have a small lot, so you'll either have to wait for a spot or park far away. Given that the diner is quite small, I was surprised by the lack of efficient service. The food was decent, but the poor service and parking issues overshadowed the meal. It's frustrating to have such a disappointing experience after a good one, and I hope they can improve in the future.

The food is absolutely awesome. I had scrambled eggs with spinach and onions, and French toast. I definitely will be dining here during my stay in Utah. Absolutely wonderful. Our server Josie was very friendly. Returned for a second day and the food was just as wonderful. I had the same meal and my wife had scrambled eggs, spinach and hash browns. I will be dining one more day before leaving Utah. Thank You for the wonderful service we received. Thanks Cooper for the wonderful service too.

Healthy food that tastes good. Our bill was $75 after tax and tip for 4 people.
Robert S — Google review
Our server was so sweet and relaxed yet perfectly efficient. To me, that’s always a great way to kick off a Saturday morning breakfast. The whiskey burger was absolutely one of the BEST burgers I’ve ever had and the avocado toast & hash browns did not disappoint. The coffee was great flavor and their craft coffee drinks even yummier than excepted. Mimosas at the end to finish off a wonderful brunch. Will definitely be back!
Raechel C — Google review
Cute place. Went for the first time for biscuits and gravy, but they didn't have any. Ordered the burger, which was good. It came with a salad that had vinaigrette type of dressing on the same plate. By the time I got to my burger, the bun was totally soaked. French fries are not on the menu (which I think is a staple with a burger). The Caesar salad my son ordered with his burger looked good (better than the "Niche" salad). The server was nice. Nobody greeted us when we walked in, and nobody even looked up. We didn't know if we were to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. I walked up to the bar and asked. Then, I waited to be seated. Will return to try the biscuits and gravy sometime, probably.
Sharon O — Google review
The restaurant has a good atmosphere and the food is good however the coffee isn't good and the service was a little fake. Feels very unnatural and uncomfortable. It is best to be yourself rather than fake. First and last for me

One of the best porches in salt lake. And the food is just as great. A local gem.
David B — Google review
From what I tasted and had; everything was yummy 😋 Tried their shaken lemonade as well and the flavor was strong and there, not watered down at all. Definitely want to go back and try their savory stuff cause i had their French toast. Parking is limited but we went on a Monday so it wasn’t crazy busy so we were able to find a spot. They don’t have a kids menu so I had to order a full priced meal for my 11 month old or the other option that was suggested was to order individual sides 🥴🥴
Moronie F — Google review
Cute place! Service was extremely slow and they weren’t very busy. It took about 35 minutes to get our food. Three people ordered pastries, one ordered a sandwich and one ordered breakfast. The hash browns were very oily. The cinnamon roll had a very strong clover taste.

Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade is a popular spot in Salt Lake City, with three locations around the city. The restaurant prides itself on using local, organic ingredients to create their delicious menu items. From their signature biscuit sandwiches to creative limeades and freshly prepared salads, there's something for everyone. The establishment started as a humble limeade stand at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market and has now evolved into a beloved family-owned restaurant serving fantastic breakfast and brunch seven days a week.
First time here on a date with my daughter. We were able to be seated for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Lucky for us. It was nice and slow and plenty of seating. Service was quick and very attentive. Server was good at explaining favorites since it was our first time. Suggestions were fantastic for the drinks , food, and dessert. Limeades were absolutely fantastic and I will describe them as drinks you would have on a cruise ship. They take you to another part of the world that is definitely not Utah. Both of the meals we ordered were smaller yet the portions were significant. Desserts in a biscuit, c’mon man…Why didn’t anybody tell me about this place sooner?
Adrian B — Google review
I love Sweet Lake! The limeades are so good I could just chug them down in a few seconds. Raspberry is a favorite for sure. The Hoss is my go to entree. It’s got a but of everything all on one biscuit. Tried the hash bombs which is fried loaded hash browns. They were a unique twist on the already good loaded hash. Would get again!
Robbie M — Google review
I think I might have just ordered the wrong thing, the food looks good here but I got the chilaquillas, they just did it taste right. Now I lived in New Mexico for 20 years so like expectations were a little bit different. It just tasted like had been reheated one too many times. It was very sweet for some reason. Not a big fan of it. I got the Benedict as well. And I just dislike when restaurants use sliced deli ham. It'd be nice to get a nice chunk of fresh, uncured and unprocessed ham or a high quality Canadian Bacon. It was good. Not super complaining but just don't understand why Nice places do that. Like make it memorable. Now your service is fantastic, our server was on top of it. Very friendly and attentive. All the drinks were fantastic!

I had a wonderful solo breakfast here! Special thanks to Anna and Suzie for excellent service and making me feel welcome. Highly recommend to everyone visiting; I got there before 9:30am and had no trouble being seated but it was picking up by 10am. I got the fresh mint limeade (divine, pure cane sugar at the bottom of the glass 🤤), hash bombs (incredible, definitely use the lime sauce), and the blueberry biscuit bake (only complaint here was the bottom was so tough I ended up not eating it, the rest was a delight).
Hannah F — Google review
This was my first time at Sweet Lake and it was great. We got in before the brunch rush ans it was perfect. The food was delicious and not overpriced. I had the Hoss Breakfast plate with a side of loaded hash browns and my daughter ordered the Basic B. Delicious
Eric B — Google review
First time here food was good a plus for allowing pets in the patio. They brought water for everyone including our dog. He loved his bacon plate. Overall it was great I will come back and try some other items.
Jessie R — Google review
Basic B gets a 3 star. I expected more for $11. Maybe put it in a smaller plate so it doesn't look so measly. I shoulda stick to the same order I had 6 months ago, Blueberry Biscuit Bake which was way better.
Trixie L — Google review
Their limeade is SO GOOD!! I love the sugar rim! However, the san antone was just okay. The chicken was over cooked and dry. It almost didn’t seem like real chicken. The limeade salsa was okay but not great. Chips were meh. My husband had the mother butter clucker and he also said it was pretty mediocre. It’s a fun place to go to but the food was not something I would come back for especially for the price.

This place is hands down the best food ever. We have eaten multiple times during our visit. The service is top notch, very clean, and the food is delicious. Fresh squeezed orange juice! Do not miss out!

Such a cute spot in downtown Salt Lake! Always busy, so I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. The food was decent, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere is charming. Great place for a casual breakfast or brunch. Closes by 2 every day, so go for an early brunch. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros ($13) with Turkey Bacon (+$5) and avocado (+$3). The turkey bacon was not worth it, otherwise, a good start to the day. They serve bottomless coffee ($4), and even send you on your way with a to-go cup if you want one; adding a nice touch to the experience.

Easily the best breakfast experience I’ve ever had—hands down! Not just in Salt Lake, but anywhere. The steak bowl was massive and absolutely delicious. My fiancé ordered the eggs Benedict, and the egg was perfectly poached. The place wasn’t crowded at all, and the food was a solid 10/10. I honestly couldn’t recommend enough.
San T — Google review
Great breakfast, brunch or lunch spot downtown, steak and eggs, omelettes, and Juan's tacos are solid winners, good portions and delicious food served by friendly and attentive servers prepared with care and quality. Espresso is okay, nothing to write home about however their fresh squeezed orange juice is amazing - stick with citrus drinks, they are very good. Fairly busy on the weekends but not too long of a wait, and well worth it. Highly recommended.

Food was really good. Very much homie food. The breakfast Sammie was just a normal good sandwich. Nothing special. Red velvet French toast was amazing unless you are looking for something less sweet. Tacos were pretty unique. Kids meals were fun and just about everything was finished.
Michael B — Google review
My Uber driver recommended their breakfast. I went because of the name. As you might imagine they serve eggs. I had a breakfast sandwich as per my servers recommend. It was a good sandwich, I would choose a different type of bread, just because I'm not a fan of softer bread. Their coffee is not the best, but they give you some to go, which seems nice. The staff is very nice and helpful. And the place is uplifting.

Amazing breakfast in downtown SLC. Walkable from Temple Square, Convention Center, Utah Museum of Contemporary Arts, and other downtown attractions. I had a delicious veggie omelette with crispy hash browns, and my teenage son had a huge breakfast burrito that he loved. And bottomless iced coffee!! The servers were super friendly and the place wave clean and bright. Highly recommended!

We visited Egg EggBurgh in the Peery Hotel after my boyfriend raved about it—he practically lived off their breakfast during a conference last year. Visit #1 (Breakfast): We ordered the salmon eggs Benedict, which came on an everything bagel with seasoning. It was definitely different—in a good way—and tasty, though the bagel got a bit overwhelming after a few bites. A half serving would’ve been plenty. We also got the 2x2x2 with over hard eggs, turkey bacon, and red velvet French toast. Alejandro, our server, recommended the red velvet over the regular and we took his advice. Unfortunately, while eating, we discovered a small piece of blue plastic inside the French toast. Alejandro was professional and understanding when we showed him, and the manager came over shortly after to apologize, explaining it likely came from the blue gloves used in the kitchen. She was kind, took the meal off our bill, and offered a replacement even though we declined. Her great attitude actually convinced us to return the next day. Visit #2 (Lunch): We decided to switch things up and try the lunch menu. We ordered the chicken avocado wrap and the hangover burger, requesting the burger on a sesame bun instead of the standard. When it came out, the bun hadn't been swapped. A male manager accompanied our server and rather firmly said they don’t carry sesame buns. We pointed out that it’s listed as an option on the menu, and after checking, he returned, surprised, admitting it was indeed on the menu. He offered to remake the burger or not toast the bun, but we declined. Though his initial tone felt a bit confrontational, we appreciated the effort to fix it, and they ended up giving us 50% off the meal. While both visits had issues, the staff and especially the managers went above and beyond to make things right, which we really appreciated. The space itself is cute, clean, and the service is friendly. That said, we opted not to go back a third time during our stay—two strikes was enough. Still, props to the team for their hospitality and professionalism in handling things.

Ruth's Diner is a historic eatery located in a beautifully renovated 1930s trolley car parked in Emigration Canyon. It offers American and Southwest breakfast dishes, including pancakes, sausages, huevos rancheros, Benedicts, and breakfast burritos. The diner also features a lovely outdoor patio for alfresco-style dining and occasionally hosts live music events. Families enjoy the old railcar ambiance and the scenic creek-side patio.
Always an enjoyable experience, Ruth's Diner is one of the best restaurants just outside of the city. Whenever we have guest from out of town, we make time to have lunch or dinner here. Our last visit was pleasant and we were actually there to experience the live band which complemented the patio scenery. They do not accept reservations so plan accordingly, we have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes.

Great cute place, I love the history and fact that it's a restored trolley car. I only went here once, but the staff and atmosphere were great. I ordered the quiche of the day and that was my only issue. It had the veggies I wanted, but the eggs were a bit soggy and the crust tasty but not as flaky as I'd expect. The flexibility of the quiche as I cut it hinted that it wasn't baked completely, and was reheated later. If it was just reheated in a toaster oven, the crust would be flaky again and the eggs complete. This just wasn't it for me.

On our recent visit to Salt Lake City, we searched Google Maps to find a restaurant no too far from us. From the reviews, Ruth’s Diner sounded like a solid choice. While the restaurant has a certain charm and story, we were overall underwhelmed by our visit. The huge biscuits were quite a treat, but we spent more time battling flies than comfortably enjoying our meal. My wife and I split a fried chicken sandwich which was “okay.” Tasted fine, just thin on the meat. They did not have Splenda (which in this day and age I just don’t understand), but ordered an ice tea anyway. The waitress didn’t tell me beforehand the only tea they have was black mint. As a Texan, that just didn’t work for me. We finished off the meal with their peach and blueberry cobbler. It was much more ice cream and whipped cream than cobbler. Tasted okay, what few bites there were. I’m sure they do a great job on breakfast, but for a mid afternoon lunch, it was no more than “meh.”

Wonderful history with this diner. Go online and read about Ruth, she was quite a character. We sat in the original diner with it's barrel ceiling. The club sandwich hit the spot after a 6 hour drive in from Wyoming. The French Fries were killer, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The mile high roll you get were delicious. Katie, our server, was friendly and attentive.

Absolutely worth the splurge! Service was phenomenal and the good was next level! My husband ordered the filet mignon and you could cut it like a pancake. I got the bbq salmon and I'd recommend it every time. The calamari was by far the best I've ever had and as always the sweet potatoe casserole was basically a dessert. Love this place and was perfect for celebrating our anniversary.

Ruth’s Diner, a cute and quaint restaurant off Immigration Canyon toward East Canyon, is a charming, rustic restaurant. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio where we sat near heaters as we were served our delicious salads all while listening to the sound of running water near by. Great for dates or groups. Outstanding service. Beautiful drive. Highly recommend.

One of my absolute favorites of all time. The ambiance. Driving up the canyon. The wooded area. The small dinner feel. The outdoor seating. The biscuits. It is all pure magic. If you are in SLC you must go. My kids love the pancakes. I love the omelettes and frittatas. I tried a San Francisco sandwich and it was amazing. I love their pinto beans. Just go. Have your magical time travel back to the 1940s and soak up every minute.

We went for an early family dinner on Friday to Ruth’s. We ordered the kids’ quesadilla, chile verde burrito, chicken piccata, and grilled artichoke appetizer. Food was very good - not mind-blowing, but definitely yummy. I think the artichoke appetizer was our favorite. We sat outside on the patio and there were 2 women playing guitar and singing. Atmosphere was great! Music was not too loud. We did have to bring our own crayons and paper for the kids, but otherwise family friendly atmosphere. Service was cheery and stopped by often. We did feel a little rushed to leave once we had our food. I think within 15 minutes of getting our dishes we had the check and she brought to-go boxes.

Penny Ann's Cafe is a charming eatery known for its classic American breakfast and lunch options, as well as an array of shakes and pies. Originally a small family cafe in New York, it has since expanded to two locations in the Salt Lake City area. The cafe offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that appeals to both locals and visitors. Their menu features an abundance of affordable and delicious dishes, with breakfast served all day long.
#PennyAnnsCafe Salt Lake City. The Cafe was included on the Food Network Show #ManVsFood they are known for thier #HeavenlyHotCakes in which they incorporate sour cream in the batter. It makes them light and fluffy. My husband ordered the airy hotcakes with his lovely P.A.C. #DenverOmelet which included Ham, green peppers, and onions served with Home fried potatoes. He opted to upgrade the syrup to the real maple syrup rather than settle for the sugary corn syrup that often accompanies food in the western United States. Being Canadian also demands loyalty to REAL Maple syrup. I decided to try their Irish P.A.C. Burger 1/3 lb. burger patty topped with Swiss cheese, thinly sliced fresh corned beef, and coleslaw. The first time I had Coleslaw on a Sandwich was a yummy Ham Sandwich in Tralee, Ireland. So I thought the burger was truly appropriate to be called Irish. I paired the burger with a side of Luscious #TomatoBasilSoup which definitely didn’t skimp on the Basil and Tomato flavor. It was a wonderful brunch shared with my man.

This is a nice diner. It's a charming older restaurant that has great service. The food was above average, and the servings were large. The dining area is dated and somewhat cramped.
Nelson W — Google review
Stopped by Penny Ann’s Café since it’s just around the corner from me. We were seated right away with no wait, which was a nice surprise, and our food came out fast. The service was quick and attentive throughout. The food overall was decent—though the peppers seemed pre-grilled and ended up a bit soggy. That said, the hotcakes were amazing as always and definitely the highlight of the meal.

Mixed Experience at Penny Ann’s Café – Great Scones, Slow Service We were seated right away on the shaded patio, which was a nice start. There’s not a lot of indoor seating, and parking was tricky—most spots were full due to nearby apartments, so we had to park across the street. Unfortunately, our experience with service was underwhelming. Our server seemed very frazzled and wasn’t very attentive. It took a while to get our drinks, and the kitchen was clearly backed up with DoorDash orders, which delayed our food as well. The highlight? The fried scones—amazing! If I could eat five of them, I would. The biscuits and gravy were fine, just average. The fried potatoes were pretty bland, and we plan to doctor them up at home. We were given our check before we finished eating, and our server forgot a to-go box multiple times. Not the worst place, but with the overall slow service and average food (aside from the scones), we probably won’t be back.

Fabulous breakfast spot in SLC. They are fairly priced to make it a go to spot. I’ve eaten here twice already. The service is always super fast and the servers are very nice. The food is fantastic, the hot cakes do live up to their claims.

Stopped by for my first ever lunch visit and enjoyed a meal just as delicious as any breakfast I've had here. Perfectly grilled cheese, tomato, and bacon sandwich on scrumptious sourdough bread. Quick, courteous service!

This was an absolute wonderful experience! We had the breakfast burrito, the pork verde nachos, pancakes, and cinnamon sugar cake bites. It was the perfect savory and sweet brunch (I especially loved the nachos with my eggs on top)! Loved talking to Julie and she explained more about the business. She was a delight! Thank you!!
Kyla E — Google review
I ordered them through DoorDash, and it was hands down the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time! The omelette was so delicious the cheese was so creamy I thought it was cream cheese when I first cut into it! The egg itself wasn’t too thick or thin, all the ingredients tasted fresh! The scones were my favorite they were so fluffy and warm! The side of bacon was great! Not too crispy not too undercooked! I felt compelled to call the restaurant to tell them how delicious it was the young lady was very nice and professional. All in all I’m very impressed and satisfied! I will definitely order from them again!

Feldman's Deli is a rustic-chic cafe that offers traditional Jewish deli cuisine, including sandwiches, knishes, and gefilte fish. This family-owned restaurant in the Salt Lake Valley is known for its authentic Jewish dishes like pastrami sandwiches, matzo ball soup, and unique twists on classics such as eggs benedict made with latkes.
Finally, a good Jewish Deli in Utah! I've been craving a hot Pastrami and Matzo Ball Soup, and this place didn't disappoint. Excellent service too! Second time eating here and it was just as good as the first. The quality of the food at this restaurant is excellent. Fresh and well prepared. Even the Matzo Balls were cooked all the way thru, which can be hard to find at some places.
Scott P — Google review
This place was recommended to me by some friends for authentic Jewish deli vibes, and I enjoyed it! My Rueben was really tasty. The bread on the sandwich was a bit soggy, and but overall, it was really flavorful and packed with meat. Unfortunately, they seemed to be understaffed, so it took us about 25 minutes or so to order, and then another 30 or so to have our food come out, but the service as a whole was still great for how many workers they had. I’d definitely come back and try something else they have in the menu. Worth checking out if you like Jewish delis!!
Kymble J — Google review
Everyone has been telling us to go here and they were right! The latkes and reuben were simply out of this world. The service was great, too. We loved the black and white cookie and the fries as well. We split a sandwich since they are so big and were so full afterwards. We will be back!
Becca S — Google review
Delicious. We arrived in the afternoon after lunch so there were only a few people inside. Very nice atmosphere. Husband ordered, not grilled, The Classics Pastrami sandwich and I ordered The Classics Corned Beef sandwich. Liked being able to have the "not grilled" option since the bread was very good and filled with plenty of tender meat. I was happy that I tried the Health Salad, vinegar not mayo slaw, because I thought it was the perfect combination of ingredients and vinaigrette. Two bagels were still available so we took one but would love to try a salt bagel sometime. (We need Feldman's in Ogden!)
Jeanette R — Google review
Absolutely delicious! We got the Rachel Combo with fries and potato salad. The portions were HUGE! My husband and I split a sandwich and it was plenty for the both of us. Can't wait to come back and try more!
Brittany H — Google review
Feldman's Deli has become a staple for a coworker and myself. This is the best Jewish Deli in Utah and the pastrami sandwich is my go-to. The fresh cut fries are some of my favorite in Utah and the latkas are also great. Matzo ball soup is okay. The actual matzo ball is giant but the broth lacks flavor. Service is typically friendly, fast, and on top of things. However, there is one guy that comes across as cold and unwelcoming each time I come in. Overall, I definitely recommend giving Feldman's a try!
Adam L — Google review
If you like (like I do!): Corned Beef, Pastrami, Sauerkraut, Coleslaw, Swiss and Thousand Island, then you NEEEEED to get down to Feldman’s ASAP and order yourself a “RACHEL COMBO”… 1/2 Lb Jewish Rye with Swiss, Thousand Island, Corned Beef, Pastrami, Sauerkraut & Coleslaw… 🤤 Literally the best Ruben/Corned beef sandwich in Utah. It’s ain’t your deli sliced pastrami/corn beef from the supermarket!
Anthony B — Google review
So so good! We were seated right away and the service was fantastic. I think our waitress was named Kim, and she was super friendly and attentive. The coconut lemonade was absolutely delicious. The fries were so good we couldn't stop eating them even when we were full. The sandwiches were HUGE and we should've shared but we wanted to try different flavors. Would definitely come back again!

Avenues Proper is a trendy craft brewery and gastropub located in an industrial-chic space with a patio. The establishment offers contemporary American cuisine, including popular dishes like Chicken and Waffles and the House Veggie Burger. In addition to their food menu, Avenues Proper features a rotating selection of house-brewed beers. For special occasions like Valentine's Day, they offer a 5-course dinner experience with prix fixe or à la carte options.
Stopped here on a whim and so glad we did. We got here just as they opened so it wasn't crowded at all, and service was fast and friendly, thank you Caroline V! Coffee was hot and good. The proper burger was excellent, and the fries were very good. The chicken and waffles were so good, the sausage came as breaded fried patties, the fresh ground cumin flavor really came through, and the waffles were fluffy and perfect. There's street parking and a parking lot. There are dining options inside and outside. We sat inside and enjoyed the chill mood music. There's a large beer selection that we're looking forward to sampling next time we come here. 10/10 recommend!

We went here for dinner over Labor Day weekend with the whole family (kids ages 6 and 2). We have visited before, as it’s pretty close to our house, but it had been a year or so. The food was pretty good! Not spectacular, and similar feedback from last time. The fried mushrooms mostly just tasted like the batter. The cauliflower was very good, loved the sauce! Steak and frites was fine - steak was a little fatty/chewy but cooked well and the way I asked. Fries were yummy and seasoned well. Loved the butter on the steak. The burger was okay, but my husband said the version he had at Proper Burger downtown was better. The little ones split the kids’ waffles and loved the fruit, but for some reason said the syrup tasted funny (yes! Kids complained about a sugary syrup!). I think this was because it was infused with an herb. I suspect adults would appreciate this more. Service was fine. Our waitress was attentive and listened. We sat outside on the patio and it was a nice, quiet evening. We would go back.

This is a great spot to meet up and have a brunch and a beer. We had a young child with us so the dining area chatter was enough that kiddo noise was not out of place. The dishes we ordered were presented well, but the lack of depth of flavor in the gravy dishes made them a bit bland. The chilaquiles were very spicy, great flavor, but the dish couldn’t be finished due to the heat level. No complaints from the French toast or kids waffle. I absolutely would go back, but ask for hot sauce to perk up my pork chop and eggs. The pork chop was no different than a chicken fried steak IMO, delicious, but a bit “mild”. I had the second breakfast oatmeal stout. It was quite dark like I wanted but had a bitter profile that outweighed any notes of chocolate and other things they listed on the menu.
Renee G — Google review
The food was amazing. It was the host and waitress that made this review not a five star. The guy that sat us acted surprised to see us and when we said we had reservations he said “of course you do” He sat us in the bar where we waited 15 mins for our waitress to come. She was in the kitchen having a detailed conversation about her night the night before. We could hear her laughing and talking to the other waitress. We ordered the Fish Tacos, Hot Wings, lobster Mac and cheese, and the proper burger with fancy fries. Everything was amazing especially the burger. I ordered medium and would say it was rare but still delicious we also had the dessert which was ok.

Avenues Proper in Salt Lake City is a must-visit spot for anyone seeking a vibrant dining experience with an inventive twist on classic dishes. Nestled in the Avenues neighborhood, this gastropub captures a cozy yet lively ambiance, making it a great choice for casual meetups or a night out. The menu features a variety of creative, seasonal dishes, and their attention to quality ingredients is apparent in every bite. One of the standout items is their spicy chicken sandwich – a dish that’s hard to forget. The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with just the right level of spice to keep things interesting without overwhelming the flavor. Topped with fresh greens, a tangy aioli, and nestled between a soft, toasted bun, this sandwich is an absolute crowd-pleaser and a personal favorite. Apart from the food, Avenues Proper also boasts an impressive selection of house-brewed beers, each thoughtfully crafted to pair well with their menu. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always ready to make recommendations and ensure a great dining experience. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Salt Lake City, make sure Avenues Proper is on your list – you won’t be disappointed!

Okay so we tried to go to Avenue’s Proper three times & finally got in!!! No wait on a Thursday night, which was fortunate. We sat on the bar side. Our waitress was great, very helpful & attentive. We tried a few cocktails: The Proper Daily & the Pomegranate Margarita. Both were really good! I always love me a good margarita! We grabbed two appetizers, the Pommes Frites (basics fries) with the best proper beer aioli sauce!! It was delicious! We also tried the brussel sprouts. For some reason in my head, these were not going to be shredded, even though the menu is clear that they are. The dried cherries were a great touch to this appetizer. Food wise, I didn’t feel like they had great vegetarian options except like a veggie burger or a salad. I ended up getting the carbonara pasta, minus the bacon. The pepper was really strong & overwhelming for me with this dish. My friend wanted salmon but with Valentine’s Day a few days before we went, they were fresh out of both the fish & chips & the Atlantic salmon option so he opted for the chicken & waffles which ended up being really good. We also had a puddling type coffee dessert. I can’t remember what it was called & it was okay but I probably wouldn’t get it again. There was a jello texture to the middle layer. It was different. I was more excited to try this place, then I felt leaving. It was cute & I’m glad I got to try it with all the hype I hear about it.

Oquirrh Restaurant is a charming dining spot in Salt Lake City, known for its intimate ambiance and locally sourced cuisine. Owned by the husband and wife team of Andrew and Angelena Fuller, this restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring dishes made with area-sourced ingredients. The restaurant's main dishes include roasted turkey breast, confit turkey leg, smoked pork shank, and a vegetarian slow-cooked purple cabbage dish, accompanied by an array of sides.
Oquirrh absolutely nailed it. I ordered the duck and the steak au poivre (medium rare), and both dishes were cooked to perfection — exactly as expected. The flavors were incredibly rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was just as impressive. The setting was comfortable and elevated without being pretentious, and the service was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening. You can tell there’s a lot of pride in what they do here. This place is a gem in Salt Lake City — I’ll definitely be coming back.

This restaurant is amazing. The vegetarian menu and meat dishes were great! They brought back the balsamic cherries with zucchini and zucchini bread. It was amazing. The roasted duck breast was great along with the fennel sausage pasta special. The milk braised potatoes is also great too! The staff was super nice and attentive, also very good in suggestions for food and drink options. The decor is very artsy and there's lots of local art to be admirer and bought of necessary.

Very good food, very good service, and good atmosphere (due to being relatively small and thus not massively noisy). It was busy on a Friday night, with all tables full by 7 PM, although we started dinner at 530 PM when we were the first to arrive. I am giving 5 stars to support this local restaurant, which is very good compared to other offerings in Salt Lake City. Obviously, everything is relative, and there are no Michelin-star restaurants in Salt Lake City, so this 5-star rating is compared to the other available restaurants in SLC. Highly recommend to try this place if you are already in SLC. The price is somewhat high, but worth it at this level of quality. Last thing is that their non-alcoholic drink offering is the best I have found in SLC, with a cooler full of such drinks, along with non-alcoholic spirits enabling them to serve their cocktails as mocktails. The whiskey mocktail versions were great, and I really appreciate their effort on this!

10/10 would eat here again. Angie knew we were there for my daughters 21st birthday(from out of state) but my daughter didn't bring her ID so thinks started off as a real bummer. As we were leaving the restaurant, the owner ran to get us. She surprised my daughter with a succulent AND she ran and got her a gluten free dessert from down the street. She made the night so special!!! We will never forget.

Had an amazing meal here for my one night in salt lake City. Ordered the potatoes for my appetizer and the duck for the entree. Both were fantastic. Drinks were great also. Not to be missed! I ate in the bar area, which was great. Seems reservations necessary to eat in the dining area. Friendly people, highly recommend.

What a find! A group of us are in town for a conference and we like to eat at the best and most interesting restaurants in cities we go to. We stumbled across this hidden gem and had a fantastic dinner. Interesting and original cocktails started the evening, followed by Arguably the best Sourdough bread I’ve ever eaten. We had the gazpacho soup, the salad, and the tuna appetizers, which all exceeded our expectations. Dinner was duck, pasta, and steak, which were perfectly prepared. Not to mention the service was excellent. The James Beard recognized chef also came out to our table to make sure we were enjoying our experience and answer questions Probably the best meal that we have had in the last several years, especially for the price.

An absolute hidden gem! Wonderful, kind, attentive staff and even better food. Compliments to the chefs - they have the ability to elevate even simple potatoes into something special. I started with their homemade sourdough (10/10), then the unexpectedly delicious Milk Braised Potatoes, and ended with the rigatoni dish and added duck 🤤. Will definitely be back and bring back up!

Great place for dinner in Salt Lake City, quiet interior but everything is very neat, dishes are clean, glasses on the tables are clean and wiped to a shine. The Park Café in Salt Lake City is one of those spots that clearly draws a crowd—you can tell by the fact that we waited about 45 minutes to get a table. To be fair, the service once we were seated was outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. Everyone in our group seemed to love their food, which says a lot considering how different our orders were. I went with the Chilaquiles, one of my go-to breakfast favorites. They were… okay. Not bad by any means, but I’ve definitely had better. The red sauce just didn’t have much flavor, which was disappointing. The green sauce was better—it had a little more spice and a bit more depth—but still not quite the standout I was hoping for. Portion size was good, and the presentation was nice, but flavor-wise, it fell a little short for me. The atmosphere is energetic—almost too energetic. The noise level was so high that it was nearly impossible to have a conversation with the group without raising our voices. If you’re coming for a lively vibe and great service, you’ll be happy here. If you want a relaxed, quiet breakfast, this probably isn’t the place. Overall, good food, excellent service, but be prepared for a wait and a lot of noise.

My daughter and I had some time to kill before my dr appointment this morning. It was still early so we headed to The Park Cafe for some breakfast. Walking in, this joint was poppin!! I didn't think we were going to get sat as fast as we did. We got a cute little table in the corner. There are many servers there. The first gal grabbed our drink order. Hot coffee and Oj was dropped off quickly. I peeped out the menu on our way there so I knew what I wanted. Orders were taken shortly after. We kicked it and absorbed the vibe! The venue is dope. The decor, the variety of people eating there and the pace of it. It was fast moving and quick! Before we knew it, food was dropped off. I ordered the single breakfast. 2 eggs, hashbrowns and toast. Simple breakfasts are the best breakfasts to me. I also added some gravy to my hashbrowns. My eggs were cooked perfectly, over medium. The hashbrowns were crunchy and soft. The gravy made the hashbrowns that much tastier! I believe it's sausage gravy but it wasn't overwhelming in sausage. I'm good with just pepper country gravy and the gravy today was just right! My sourdough toast was buttered nicely, not one dry spot! My daughter ordered the sausage and mushroom hash. Man did she get a lot of food! You can see the nice pieces of sausage and mushrooms. The hash had onions and green peppers through out the potatoes. Her plate was hearty! We were only able to eat about half of our plates. I love how this joint is controlled choas. They are a well oiled machine with people coming in, people leaving, orders and everything else in between. The staff is super friendly. The food was fantastic! And the prices here are reasonable! You're not paying an arm and leg just to have a good meal to start the day. I'm happy I got to check this place out while I'm staying here in SLC. One of the best meals I have had so far! I look forward to coming back if my schedule allows it! I'm sold on the hashbrowns and gravy!

Provisions in Millcreek, near the Cottonwood resorts in Salt Lake City, offers locally sourced modern American cuisine for dinner and Sunday brunch. The restaurant surprises visitors with its quality, atmosphere, and reasonable prices. For those looking to minimize drive time, Provisions provides three meal packages for pick-up with options like turkey, prime rib, and salmon along with sides and house-made pie.
The food is freshly curated and locally sourced. The ingredients are thoughtful and delicious. The staff goes above and beyond. Sydney was a fabulous hostess. She was able to accommodate us on a very busy Sunday. Yum. We will be back for sure.

Had a nice weekend brunch here for 5. Made a reservation. It’s a better menu for sweet than for savory. I had the Provisions Breakfast plate, nothing especially memorable. The beignets didn’t stick out for me as delicious/ worth it. I like the decor, wallpaper, and cups — makes for a colorful farm table vibe.

We had one of the best meals we’ve had in Salt Lake City at Provisions. Even though we weren’t super hungry, we shared two appetizers and two entrees between four people, and every single dish blew us away. We ordered the fresh crispy duck rolls, roasted cauliflower, branzino fillet, and fried chicken. Each bite was an explosion of flavor, perfectly balanced, thoughtfully composed, and executed with such skill. Whoever is behind these dishes is an absolute culinary genius. The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly light. Nothing felt heavy or overdone, just pure, vibrant, creative cooking. We kept saying how excited we are to come back and try more. Provisions is truly a gem and easily one of the best dining experiences in the city.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Provisions and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. From the beginning, Addie made the contracting process so easy — she was prompt, professional, and incredibly helpful with all of our questions. The RFP and booking process was seamless, and we were able to reserve a private room that fit our group of 19 comfortably. The staff and service were amazing — friendly, attentive, and so much fun to work with! The charcuterie appetizers were a huge hit, and both the cocktails and mocktails were fantastic. We did a plated dinner with options for pork tenderloin, chicken, or pasta, and every single guest raved about their meal. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the entire experience was stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to kick off our wedding weekend. Highly recommend Provisions for dinner or hosting your next private event!

I was a server for 15 years, so I’m not typically one to leave bad reviews, but I really feel like I need to give others a heads up because this place has so much prestige. We went at 2pm on a Sunday, I could tell they had gotten absolutely thrashed for brunch, the place was disheveled as was our waiter. He starts out incoherently mumbling it had been a long day then starts listing all of the things they were out of, which included beignets, which we had a coupon for. He said he’d get us the ricotta pancakes instead. We order the avocado toast, side of bacon and Benedict. He doesn’t write it down, but comes back two times to ask us what we ordered, and I reaffirm he got the side of bacon, but he says he put in the American Breakfast instead of the Benedict, but no worries he would fix it. The pancakes come out, they look like they were slopped on the plate, there’s char on the top of them from the griddle, they taste like something has gone bad, as does the lemon sauce, they were not cooked in the center. He brings out the benny and avocado toast. Luke warm, palatable but barely, the hard boiled eggs taste old, the avocado has turned brown, and no side of bacon. He brings the check, the pancakes are still on there and the American Breakfast that we didn’t order. Guys I know brunch service is a beast, but if you’re going to charge these prices, take a little pride in what you do and what you put on a plate or don’t serve it at all. Won’t be back don’t want another bad meal and upset stomach. Such a shame because we live in the neighborhood, and might’ve wanted to try for dinner. Very disappointing

This was my first time at this establishment, as I am from out of town. I must say I was hesitant at first to order the elk because I have never had it before. Boy let me tell you how delicious and perfectly cooked it was. And those steamed buns, were so delectable. The service that we got from Joseph was impeccable as well. He was so intuitive to everything we needed. The next time I’m in town, I will definitely becoming back. Kudos

Favorites were the crispy duck rolls, wok ribs, lime glazed salmon and the fried chicken. Everything was so flavorful and offered wonderful textures. Really enjoyed our meal there and will be back soon!

I fell in love with this place. It's a shame I was in a hurry today because the warm welcoming atmosphere made me want to kick back and spend the rest of my afternoon here. The food was delicious and actually gluten free! The matcha and strawberry ice latte? Refreshing and well balanced. I can't wait to bring my favorite people here for some great food, drinks, and conversation.

Not the quickest place as far as service goes, but the chamomile waffle I had was definitely worth it. Excellent presentation and aromatic flavor, decent coffee, and they will leave you alone to enjoy the trendy atmosphere. It made me want to try even more of their dishes!

I’m not usually one to order poached eggs, but my wife enjoys them and has gotten me to try them more. When I saw The Rose Establishment’s Turkish Eggs on the menu, I figured I’d give it a shot. Honestly, I was skeptical, especially with the yogurt and all the garnishes I didn’t even recognize, but I’m so glad I tried it. The dish came with two poached eggs, garlic sumac yogurt, feta, chili oil, and herbs, served with toasted sourdough. I added bacon on the side for some extra protein. Once everything was mixed together it just worked. The eggs, yogurt, spices, and herbs blended into a creamy, tangy, rich flavor that was absolutely delicious. The sourdough was perfect for dipping, and the bacon was phenomenal with it. Since I’ve got a sweet tooth, I couldn’t leave without trying one of The Rose Establishment’s chocolate chip cookies. It was soft, loaded with dark chocolate, and just as good as it looked. This was definitely a breakfast spot worth trying. I’m glad I went out of my comfort zone with the Turkish Eggs because it paid off. Rating: 5 out of 5. Unique breakfast, great flavors, and pastries worth saving room for.

10/10 stars for The Rose Establishment and staff. We stayed in SLC for 2 nights and came for breakfast both days - it was that good. The 9-5 breakfast sandwich and the Turkish eggs were exceptional. I ordered the Jack-O-Latte and it was not too sweet, lovely cinnamon flavor. The staff is super sweet! Really fun interior and patio. Highly recommend for a good coffee/breakfast/ brunch!

Such a fun and unique menu. It’s exciting being a New Yorker getting breakfast out of state because it seems everywhere else allows themselves to be so much more adventurous with breakfast than we do. The service was great, the vibes were immaculate, my drink was uniquely delicious, the food was yummy, and the bathroom was clean. Couldn’t ask for much more.

I had such a great experience thanks Grace on the waitstaff. She went above and beyond, not just with attentive and friendly service, but with genuine heart. Grace shared a bit of her story, her love for her work, and her faith, which added a meaningful touch to the visit. It was a reminder of how lucky we are to be where we are, and how powerful the right perspective can be. The coffee was excellent, the space was warm and welcoming, and Grace truly made it memorable. Highly recommend stopping in!

I'm visiting from out of town and was looking for a place with great breakfast and coffee/tea drinks. I had the Brunch Bowl and Smoke Show tea latte. Both were delicious! Bacon was cooked to perfection and I loved the little salad. Word of warning if you've not had Lapsang souchong tea... It's very smokey and can be a lot if you're not expecting it. I knew what I was in for and really enjoyed my tea latte.

I knew we were in for a good experience from the crowd waiting to get in. The wait was not long and got a table pretty quick. The service was very quick and food was served faster than we expected. Quite enjoyable atmosphere that looks like an old style of eatery where the cooks are right in the middle making your meal. Although it was quite busy, the staff was quite attentive . Food was delicious . We will be going back

I had a Med Omelette with marble rye bread. The bread was really good. The omelette was just right. It came with potatoes and they were yummy. My son had an Irish Benedict, it was good. The service was good.

Saturday morning breakfast: lucky to get right in around 10:00am (highly unusual not to wait a few minutes). Expected local diner atmosphere. Service and food delivery were very fast. Food was hot, but lacked salt. I prefer to season my eggs and potatoes myself, so this was good for me. Value was good.

As a Salt Lake City local, this is one of my favorite greasy breakfast spots! You can never go wrong with any of the skillets or scrambles, and I love that any omelette can be made into a scramble. I love the OTC skillet! And I usually like to sub the bread for a multigrain pancake. Their pancakes are perfection. You have to know going in that the environment in there is a little hectic and crazy… But the service is always so fast with constant attention to making sure you have everything you need. After shiny places keep getting built, this is always my favorite.

$30 with tip for Eggs Bendict & a piece of what they call French toast. (1 piece very lightly coated with egg wash.. the center is pure white bread..) the Hollidaise was "yellow but no zest no character. .. the potatoes are cooked in "eh" oil that id never use at home & mushy not crispy.. got Chai Cold was good... that was the most memorable of the rest rather non-descript meal.... Once a year in try to like this place but leave disappointed... not worth $30 !

Super awesome brunch spot! High quality ingredients. They do a ton of vegetarian and vegan stuff, which isn’t my thing. All the other stuff is great though! I got the biscuits and gravy with sausage. The biscuits were very herby and unique and the gravy was also unique with the pepper and how creamy it was. The eggs were perfectly scrambled and the potatoes are awesome!! Lazy Day Cafe is a charming, family-owned eatery that offers a delightful breakfast experience in a relaxed and unassuming atmosphere. The cozy cafe features counter seating and a warm fireplace, providing the perfect setting to enjoy their hearty, home-style dishes. Their menu includes mouthwatering options such as lemon pancakes with homemade buttermilk syrup, pork chili verde burritos, classic eggs Benedict, and shrimp and grits.
I used to come here with my Granny years ago in high school and I haven’t been here since she moved. I woke up at 9 AM on Sunday and randomly the thought popped into my head to go here so I dragged my boyfriend out of bed and we arrived at about 10 o’clock and were seated immediately. The staff was super friendly. I can’t remember our server’s name, but she had multicolored hair and was very attentive. The hostess was fantastic as well. I ordered what I used to order years ago the most delightful delectable delicious lemon pancakes with the caramel syrup. My boyfriend ordered the lazy deluxe, I believe. We absolutely destroyed the food in a matter of seconds. It was so good and exactly as I remember it. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable. I’ll be coming back here more often for sure.

Came to get some breakfast at this place, and it was really good! The gravy was good, but I think next time I will get the Lazy Deluxe vs the biscuits and gravy. The Laxy Deluxe comes with chicken, which was very fresh but just a little bit salty, but still it was really good and moist. The pancakes were also really good with coffee.

Charming Café with Fantastic Food & Friendly Service – Lazy Day Café We were seated within 10 minutes with a party of six, which felt like a large group for this cozy spot. It wasn’t overly busy, but the food was fantastic! There’s also nice shaded outdoor seating available. The girls working there were friendly and had a lot of spunk—got a little annoyed when we asked to split the check. I ordered the Lazy Day Breakfast with over-easy eggs. They were a bit oily but tasty, especially on the wheat toast. The bacon was cooked perfectly—crispy, just how I like it. The cheesy grits blew me away—I’m usually not a grits person, but I’m so glad I tried them. The smoked salmon eggs Benedict was the standout dish—easily the best meal at the table! The kids loved their waffles topped with berries, whipped cream, and a delicious sauce (great recommendation from our waitress!). We also tried the lemon pancakes, which were light, bright, and very tasty. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we’d happily come back for more. Highly recommend for a relaxed, flavorful breakfast or brunch!

We absolutely love this place! My husband and I came here on our way home from our honeymoon back in March. We loved it so much that we try to come as often as possible. We would come every weekend if we could but we live clear in North Ogden, so we make the drive when we can! Lazy Day Cafe is so cute and has the most delicious breakfast food. The staff are all so friendly and give great service. I am so grateful that they have many great vegan options! I've been vegan for 10 years, and it's sometimes hard to find places that we both enjoy going to.

Came for the Waffle, Found My Favorite Breakfast Spot. I originally came to Lazy Day Café just for a good waffle, but it ended up becoming my favorite breakfast spot in Salt Lake City. The waffle was perfect, fluffy, golden, and so flavorful I could eat it plain. No butter, no syrup, just the waffle. But once I added the butter, their homemade syrup, berry compote, and whipped cream, everything came together. I haven’t found anything like it back home in Austin, Texas. I also ordered the Lazy Day Breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and hash browns. And let me just say, this was the kind of flavor that makes you pause and savor every bite. The hash browns were soft and full of flavor. The sausage was juicy and full of flavor. The bacon, cooked just the way I like it. You can taste that it’s made in-house, and that alone set it apart. It went above and beyond what I expected. And shoutout to Jennifer, who served me with genuine warmth. She made the whole experience even better. This place isn’t just good—it’s memorable. I’ll be back every time I’m in town.

🍳☕ Lazy Day Café: el lugar perfecto para desayunar sin prisa y con mucho sabor. I went for the Benedictine eggs... and I stayed for the apapacho to the soul. What a delight! The hollandaise sauce was so soft that it looked like it was made by angels with an apron. All served with love, homemade flavor and that cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay all morning. The name honors the place: ideal for a day without eagerness, with coffee in hand and a happy belly. 💛 If you are in Utah, awaken your craving and stop by Lazy Day. Your stomach will thank you. 😌🍴

I went here with a group of 5 people for a coworker's going away party and we had a BLAST! The service was great, but let me tell you, the food speaks for itself! We all agreed that they served the BEST hashbrowns that we have ever eaten. They were perfectly textured, moist, and FLAVORFUL! I ordered the classic eggs benedict and it was perfectly flavored and not too heavy. The lemon pancakes were so tasty. One of the guys ordered the deluxe breakfast sandwich and it looked worth the price. He absolutely cleaned his plate.

Got the chicken and waffles and eggs Benedict. The fried chicken was literally burnt and drier than a 70 yo grandma after menopause. Asked our waitress to ask the cook to remake the chicken and the cook refused saying that’s how it would be remade anyway. The waitress took the charge off at least. The yolk in the eggs Benedict’s egg was also completely cooked. Poached eggs are supposed to be with a runny yolk… I don’t know if the chef was having a bad day or what but completely turned off from going here again.

The Copper Onion is a modern restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City, known for its locally sourced New American cuisine and cocktails. Founded by chef Ryan Lowder, it has become a favorite brunch spot among locals and visitors alike. The menu features savory options like the burger with duck fat aioli and brown butter cacio e pepe, as well as sweet treats such as lemon ricotta french toast.
The entire experience was exceptional. We stated with the salted chili whipped ricotta and sourdough. Appetizers were the black pepper mussels and the goat cheese salad. The goat cheese salad was an expert pairing, and the flavors together were amazing. Entree was the Wagyu beef stroganoff; the preparation was elevated, comfort food with fresh noodles, and a nice spooning of creme friache: the mushrooms were varied and well prepared, making the dish a delight to eat. We received a gratis order of the ricotta dumplings. These are not to be missed; they are scrumptious.

What a great lunch spot! I went because they filmed a scene of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City here and I was really impressed! The house pickles were so delicious, I’m a real pickle head and these did not disappoint! I also got the stroganoff which, when it arrived, I got nervous because it doesn’t look like there is much food but the bowl is deep and I was totally full by the end of my meal. Highly recommend!! Service was also wonderful!

Ended up at the Copper Onion on a Saturday for lunch and I was blown away with how fabulous our experience was! If I could give half stars, this would be a solid 3.5 stars. This restaurant was highly spoken of prior to my visit so I had high expectations, which may be why I was partly disappointed as well. It felt like a very basic, expected experience, nothing too special about the place. I wasn't disappointed, but I also wasn't surprised or wowed by anything at all. I made a reservation because I was told it gets pretty busy and I just wanted to be on the safe side, but I arrived at 8:30pm on a Tuesday evening and no reservation was needed. There were a lot of seating options available. The steak was delicious, just as expected, the bearnaise sauce was also really perfectly prepared. The fries were not good. They were way over seasoned and tasted really oily. I only ate about a handful. When the meal only consists of steak and fries, both have to be on point. I think the vibe of the place was welcoming and I can see it being a good place to come with family or a group of friends which is why I'm giving it a 4-star vs. a 3 star. The outside seating area is right on the street. Food was 7/10 Vibe was 8/10 Service 8/10

One of my top favorite places in Salt Lake. When it gets warm outside they open up their patio but indoors is a great ambiance also. Food is fresh and soooo good. I always get the Waygu Beef Stroganoff and its the best recipe I’ve ever had. Make sure to reserve a dinner spot early because the times book out fast.

The restaurant atmosphere and the service we had was amazing. I was not really a fan of what I got. I felt like the menu description wasn't very accurate to describe the dishes. I personally feel like this is a restaurant you love or a restaurant you try once. I loved the vibe, just wasn't a fan of the dishes we got. My friend got the steak, I did enjoy hers but her dish was over salted(and she loves salt and said the same thing.)

Randomly visiting SLC and this place popped up on my TikTok when I was thinking about dinner. Weird. Anyway! Service was beautiful! We were sat immediately at 630p on a Saturday, lucky us. Requested outside then requested inside about 10 minutes after we were sat. The wind had picked up heavily in a short time so we decided to be pains. Our server was happy to change our seats, didn’t have us feeling bad about it at all. All service was absolutely lovely. I was most excited about the small plates/shareables so we started with the house sour dough with whipped ricotta and salted peppers, grilled asparagus, and crispy goat cheese salad. It was all great! The crispy goat cheese salad was the highlight of the meal, perfectly crispy cheese with a mouth puckering dressing that balanced everything out nicely. The bread and whipped ricotta and peppers was a close second. The salted peppers were no joke, make sure you have water. The spice was perfect, the salt is what burned my mouth. But still very good. The grilled asparagus needed another minute or two on the grill but all in all was very tasty and a valuable break from the salt. For entrees we both ordered pasta, I had the cacio a pepe and my husband had the bolognese. The pasta portions were really small, so be aware of that. Wasn’t a problem for us because of all the starters we had. His bolognese was really good. Al dente pasta and a spicy, flavorful, creamy sauce. And here comes the sad part….the cacio a Pepe was the worse pasta I’ve ever been served in a restaurant, and we’ve eaten at Olive Garden soo… I think it was microwaved, shockingly. It was inedible. Dry, crusty, rubbery, weird. Like the pasta you take to work and accidentally microwave too long. I was pretty baffled but also too full and satisfied to care much. I didn’t complain. All in all would definitely return here but we’d stick to the small plates, things where they shine! The bill was crazy cheap, even with my wine.

I was drawn in by the playful 🐔chicken-themed plating photos on Google Maps and browsed the menu, where I discovered they serve cinnamon waffles. That alone convinced me to visit. The staff were very friendly and welcoming (ᐥᐜᐥ)♡︎ᐝ I ordered the Cinnamon Monster, but after about half the portion it became a bit too sweet and cloying for me, so I couldn’t finish it all. Next time, I’ll add something savory to balance the flavors.

I had the Breakfast Waffini with the Andalouse sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked just right, and the price was well worth it. So much better than the $18 hotel breakfast I had last time I was in town, which was very mediocre. From English bread pudding to French macarons to Baklava, Gourmandise covers a range of worldly dessert classics with finesse. The German chocolate cake, Tiramisu, and black and white cake are highly recommended.
I visit Gourmandise frequently and I really like it. It’s a pleasant place where you can enjoy anything from a family meal, a hangout with friends, to a relaxed date — whether it’s with a friend or someone special — and the best part is that you can talk for hours without feeling rushed to leave the table. That, to me, is priceless. Their pastry is good — maybe not amazing, but definitely solid. The food is quite decent, and their mimosas are tasty, making it a great spot for a laid-back brunch as well. Another plus is the easy access: there’s plenty of parking, which is always appreciated. The service is generally very friendly and welcoming. However, on my last visit, after clearing our lunch plates, the server took quite a while to return and check if we needed anything else. It wasn’t a huge issue, but worth noting. Prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is comfortable and calm, and like I said, I love being able to have long conversations without interruptions. I definitely recommend this place.

We love this restaurant! Delicious and fresh French food that’s casual. The pastry case is a formidable force of awesomeness and artistry with flower and sugar. So delightful! The salads are especially crisp and fresh. Yum! Maddox took care of us and we had an amazing experience. Highly recommend!

It was a rough entry but the food was worth it for the most part. They had a delicious freshly made ranch dill dip dressing. Their peach vinaigrette was fantastic. The atmosphere is a little lacking. The check-in process was a little foggy. We went on a Sunday mid morning, cusp of blnoon. I would go back but it was definitely not somewhere to go if you're in a hurry. We can skip the door line and go straight in and order coffee and pastries and pick up your cakes and then go. So that's nice. Our coffees were on point and our food was delicious.

We waited about 10 minutes just to be seated. We had the host and hostesses walking by us not saying something. finally a waitress had to go grab someone because we’d been just standing there for so long. After we’d been seated our server either was not informed that she was serving us or didn’t check because we sat another 25 minutes until the host pulled the waitress to the side and reminded her that she was in charge of us and another neglected table. We finally ordered and got our food and in the hour we were actually being served we got our drink refilled once and only because we had to flag her down and ask that she refill my wife’s drink. The food was okay, we really weren’t impressed by anything that we had. And finally the reason most people come here is for the dessert. Our awful waitress was the one that bagged up our desserts and we forgot to check the bag til we got back to our hotel. She grabbed the wrong desserts and even forgot some of our items. Overall the experience was a poor one and we were thoroughly unimpressed by our dinner.

Disappointed Despite the High Reviews I chose this place based on its high ratings, but I left very disappointed. The treats looked appealing, but they all tasted bland. Cheesecake is supposed to be creamy, but the pumpkin cheesecake had the dry, crumbly texture of a cookie. Honestly, everything tasted like it was store-bought, even though it’s presented as freshly made in-house. To make matters worse, I ordered tea and was served very cold water—twice. How do you mess up boiling water, especially at a coffee shop? Don't be fooled by the reviews—this place is meh at best.

Not comfortable seating but maybe trendy. Food was good and not too expensive. Bakery items a must after dinner. Waitress was very sweet and helpful. But the BIG thing was I left my bag under the table. This was especially bad because I was headed to Mexico in the morning! Passport and everything! I freaked out when I realized I left it after going back to the hotel. I went back and it was there! I am so grateful for honest people!

I recently moved to the Utah area for work, and a friend recommended Gourmandise. I was beyond impressed with my experience! Our server, Leslie, went above and beyond — offering excellent suggestions, providing attentive service, and making us feel truly welcomed. She was absolutely fabulous! The charming glassware was a delightful touch, and I look forward to returning with friends and family in the future.

⸻ I stopped by Grimandi Bakery today and picked up a beautiful-looking eclair. It was a good size and cost $5, which I was fine with because I was really in the mood for one. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the appearance. The chocolate on top was hard and crunchy, more like what you’d find on an ice cream bar than on a pastry. When I bit into it, it crumbled and fell right off. I’ve never had an eclair made this way, and it just didn’t work. The inside wasn’t much better. While the pastry shell itself was nicely done, the filling was bland, airy, and lacked sweetness or any rich flavor. Overall, it was unremarkable and disappointing—especially from a bakery that’s supposed to be “premier.” Honestly, it almost felt like something frozen and brought in rather than freshly made

Pig & a Jelly Jar SLC is a funky eatery that offers a locally sourced menu of American comfort foods with a modern twist. Open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., it's known for serving some of the best brunch in SLC. The menu features southern-style fried chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, and an irresistible BEC sandwich. Their cocktail menu offers creative spins on brunch classics, including non-alcoholic options.
We walked a bit to get here but it was so worth it. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was fast and hot. The pineapple smash was yummy and tart. The mix they use has black peppercorn but it tastes like cayenne to me. It was still something I would drink and make. Non-alcoholic options here are good. Buy a pair of socks and they donate socks.

Great brunch this morning at Pig In A Jelly Jar. Place is small, but works efficiently. Order at the counter, then they will tell you where to sit and bring you your food and drinks. Food is fantastic and kids that work there are good at what they do. Eighteen percent gratuity is always added to the bill so no need to tip…unless it’s stellar and you want to give them a bonus amount!

I came to eat breakfast here, and the food tastes so homemade. You just have to have patience because this place gets full, it’s a small place, and the wait time can be long. It’s worth the wait. Great customer service, and the place looks nice. The downside is that it's tough to find parking around here.
Isaac R — Google review
Absolutely will be back. You order first at the counter and pay. Once a table is ready they will seat you and bring your order. You wait inside for them to call your name. Really good service. Ordered 4 dishes for $60 which is pretty good and portions were large. My favorite was the chicken and waffles!
Diane D — Google review
This is good, and the start of something great. Fun atmosphere, High use of technology. Tasty food. Was asked to wait 15 minutes to clear out the restaurant, which was a bit off putting. Everything must be ordered before you are offered a seat, which is different for a similarly set up dining place. The biscuits were a tad on the dry side. No sausage in the biscuits and gravy (maybe I should have specified, don’t know). The plates, utensils, serving ware was spotless, but there are a lot of high use items that need refreshing (games, tables, etc). Staff is super friendly and move at a moderate pace. Aside from the detailed critique above (every needs some honest feedback), it really is a good restaurant. Delicious and flavorful. High quality, just needs some refinement and a few rough edges smoothed out. This place rides along an edgy cultural ledge, but seems a bit rough in a few spots.
Klint J — Google review
A Salt Lake City breakfast staple. The service is always impeccable and the food is almost always on point. You can never go wrong with the chicken and waffles (which is what everyone kind of knows). I got the sausage gravy and biscuits which could have been a bit better. The biscuits were kind of hard and I wish there was just a bit more sausage in it but it was still good but definitely wouldn’t be my go to on the menu. Ordered an Orange Juice and received the LARGEST glass of orange juice I’ve ever seen in my entire life (delicious and definitely worth it). All of the employees are super kind. Jesus in specific was on his game when we went! Thanks :)
Damon D — Google review
Not a fan at all. The food is incredibly bland, flavourless, and soulless. I have no idea how they were voted the number 1 chicken & waffles in the city but I've had better at IHOP. Service started out ok at best but got better over time. When I first walked in, there was no one at the counter for a good long minute. Line of guests just standing around waiting to be seated. This place is ridiculously expensive as well. I ordered chicken and waffles, some potato and ham plate, coffee, and orange juice. I thought it would be around $30 but it came to $42. I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, but after reading some other reviews, an 18% gratuity fee is slapped on top of your bill automatically. On the plus side, this place has some board games and some cool decor. Overall this place is a 2.5

Located in the killer Liberty Park area this place has piqued my interest for a while now, especially since I used to live just west of the park for years, and have driven past here more times than I can count. Well, we decided to finally give it a go and GOOD LORD I have kicked myself since for waiting so long! I ordered the Ham hash, and what a flavor explosion!! The mustard aioli is so absolutely righteous, I found myself was temporarily mute as I struggled for words. I seriously cannot tell you how incredible this dish was. We also ordered the chicken and waffles and that too was nothing short of amazing. Come early as this spot gets jumping quick, and prepare to park and walk as it’s located on the corner. Absolutely LOVE this place!

Eggs in the City is a diner type restaurant with an eclectic interior loaded with local art. The place is popular for its creative and unique breakfasts that are also great for brunch. There's always a long line at this spot so get there early!
Oh my goodness I cannot rave about this place more! I arrived 10 minutes prior to opening as I was waiting for a friend. As I sat there, I watched the parking lot fill up within minutes of opening! Upon entering, the staff was more than welcoming. Nearly all the tables were full and they were apologetic for not having one immediately available. We told them no worries and it wasn’t a problem for us to wait. We only waited, maybe five minutes, but during that time three different employees came to let us know it will only take a few more minutes and updated us as to the table availability. As we were seated we noticed there were already menus and water waiting for us. The menu is vast, and a bit overwhelming because there were too many different, and delicious, options to choose from! Torn between the crepes and a traditional breakfast, we settled for both! The food arrived quickly, and boy, was AMAZING! I can’t stop thinking about the crepes and will be back soon!
Amanda D — Google review
Absolutely enthralled with the atmosphere, kindness of all staff, delicious food, and location! I have a gluten and dairy sensitivity, which makes eating out difficult in finding solid options. The servers were able to help figure out substitutions, which was easier than ever with their sauces being gluten free and still having dairy free ones as well. My niece and I will be coming back for sure and recommending highly.

We went to breakfast for my birthday. The food is always delicious! The Chicken and Waffles are amazing! So flavorful! Get here early, they fill up fast!

The food and service were good. However, it was too noisy for me. I think the prices are really good for the amount of food they serve! So if you’re hungry and want something tasty with some Latin flavor, this is your place.
Valentina R — Google review
The food was very good. We had the Macho Style, Huevos Ranchos and Croissant Breakfast Sandwich. The black beans were especially good. Depending upon how you like your potatoes done you may like them a little crispier than what we received.
Dan S — Google review
Very nice place. Food all looked really good. I got the chicken and waffles. It ended up being one of the better chicken and waffles that I have had. They are dog friendly on their patio, as long as the dog behaves. Staff were very friendly. I have no negative notes. Wait time was long, but that's not their fault. It was a weekend, and the place is popular. I will be coming back.
Kelsay C — Google review
I had been to the old location but not this new one. So, it's been long enough that I can't even remember the food or menu from before. Sunday brunch was packed and our wait was about 45 minutes. Make sure to get on the wait list ahead of time to cut your in-person wait down. The four in our group had 2 three-item create your own breakfast, the Give Up, and Huevos Rancheros. The give up was... GIGANTIC. For $21 it better be, but it could have fed our whole table. If you've given up on your wasterline, the Give Up is your dish. I had the Huevos Rancheros. As a vegetarian, I was excited this ffit my restrictions since it does not at most places. It. Was. Amazing. Cannot recommend enough. There were plenty of vegetarian options too as meats could be replaced by avocado. The only negative I have to say about the place is because it was so busy service was not great. Ordering and getting the food was good, additional requests meant waiting and flagging ANYONE down because the server didn't come back until she brought the check. Getting a to-go box took longer than the food did. Again, it was busy Sunday brunch, so this minor inconvenience was still worth it.
J H — Google review
Super enjoyable breakfast visit with both adults and kids. They were quite busy, so there was a 35-minute wait, but the hostess was incredibly sweet and a joy to be around. I ordered the three eggs benedict flight (not pictured because I got a little excited and was a bit hungry 🙂), which included a traditional benedict, a Reuben eggs benedict, and a crab cake eggs benedict. While I generally love Reuben dishes, this one fell a bit flat on flavor, and the shaved pastrami had a dry, off-putting texture. The Hollandaise sauce, however, was excellent, and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection. The crab cake benedict was definitely the star of the show, but the traditional benedict was also very good. I'd give the flight an 8.5 out of 10. The cinnamon swirl pancake was also excellent. The cinnamon flavor was nice, and the frosting was a perfect touch. A creamy syrup to go with it would have made it even better. I'd rate it 9.5/10. My kids all enjoyed their eggs, sausage, bacon, and pancakes. My son also ordered the Parisian crepes and devoured them. It's great that they have a reasonably priced kids' menu and a fun game where the kids get a little prize candy at the end of the meal.

Located in downtown Salt Lake City, The Green Pig Pub is a lively sports bar offering a vibrant atmosphere with live music and trivia nights. This popular spot features a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city's unique architecture and the majestic Rocky Mountains. The menu includes classic pub grub as well as options for vegan and gluten-free diets, accompanied by an extensive selection of beers and house cocktails at reasonable prices.
Delicious vegan options, really well made and the flavor profiles were outstanding. The Avocado egg rolls and jalapeño blackberry sauce were perfection! And the wings were really tasty with a great texture.

This is a welcoming pub with a great variety on their menu including vegan options! I've had the same server both times I've been here for lunch and she's so kind (I don't know her name, sorry!). The food is excellent and we weren't waiting for long. The first time I came here I got the blackened salmon tacos and they were so good I had to come back and get them again 😆 We didn't bring a dog with us today, but I also like that they are apparently dog friendly & have a patio. Dogs can be at the patio until 6 pm as far as I know. Definitely want to come back and try more of the menu because everything looks great!

What a fun find today! We went to the weekend brunch with three dollar Bloody Mary’s and three dollar mimosas and a special brunch menu. We were a party of five and all ordered something different. Every plate was delicious! It’s an older dive bar in downtown Salt Lake City. Parking can be difficult. Brunch and drinks on the weekends are highly recommended!

Scandinavian restaurant

Cafe
Finn's Cafe is a beloved family-owned restaurant that has been serving delectable Scandinavian-influenced American dishes for breakfast and lunch since 1952. Recently relocated to a newly renovated building in the Sugarhouse area, the cafe exudes warmth with its wooden floors, earthy tones, and a spacious outdoor patio for alfresco dining during summer.
During our visit, we ordered the Eggs Benedict Royal, the Salt Lake City omelet, and a grilled cheese sandwich for my child. The Eggs Benedict Royal was absolutely delicious — perfectly poached eggs, rich hollandaise, and a flavorful combination of ingredients made it the highlight of the meal. The Salt Lake City omelet was decent, though a bit on the dry side, so it didn’t stand out as much. The grilled cheese was a hit with my kid, and it came with a side of fresh fruit, which was a nice touch and made the meal feel a bit healthier. The service was excellent throughout our visit. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which added a lot to the overall experience. We chose to sit outside, and the outdoor seating area was wonderful. There was plenty of shade from the surrounding trees, keeping things cool and comfortable even in the midday sun. It created a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere that made the meal even more enjoyable. Parking could be a bit limited depending on the time of day, but we noticed there’s some off-street parking available, which helps alleviate the issue. Overall, it was a great spot for a casual meal with family. Tasty food, great service, and a lovely outdoor dining experience make this place worth a visit. I’d definitely return to try more from their menu.

Such a cute Scandinavian spot with a beautiful indoor and outdoor ambience — the space itself is unique and charming. We stopped in for brunch and will definitely be back to try lunch. My partner said the waffles were good but nothing out of the ordinary, while I absolutely loved the smoked salmon Benedict — probably the best I’ve ever had with smoked salmon!

Finn’s is a charming breakfast spot that we couldn’t believe wasn’t busier on a Saturday morning! No wait for a table, and the service was excellent. The patio is lovely and shaded, and the inside of the diner has a fun. almost retro vibe. We got the french toast and the waffles and both were yummy. Food overall is a bit overpriced, but generally on par with other breakfast places in SLC, and Finn’s is unique and charming enough to make it well worth a stop.
Abby J — Google review
Love coming here for a casual breakfast/brunch. Service is quick and the patio is cozy. The interior is a traditional Scandinavian design. We always get the lingonberry waffles and eggs benedict—portions are on the smaller size but food tastes high quality so it’s understandable! Coffee & juices are also great, & prices are fair!

Amazing experience! Servers were kind and took care of us in a timely manner. My friend got a Norwegian waffle with a deep fried chicken (so yummy) and I got the Pyttipanna with the French bread. Fantastic taste!! After sitting for a while the wife of the owner came and took our plates. She said that her husband was one of the first to sell sourdough in Salt Lake! I wish I would’ve gotten some! She was so lovely and had amazing energy. Would go again! Good prices for their food too!!

Wow. This place was incredible. I ordered the havarti grilled cheese and vegetable soup with Norwegian meatballs, plus a slice of marzipan cake to go. The meatballs in the soup were very similar to my Norwegian grandmothers and the broth was so flavorful. The portion sizes were great, big enough to satisfy but not so big you left over full. I ate the cake later in the day. It came with strawberries and whipped cream. The cake didn't really need them but it def brought this already amazing cake to the next level. My server was polite and attentive.
Riana S — Google review
I’m not sure why so many good reviews. It took awhile to get seated, and longer to get served. Mediocre food from quality and quantity. The taste wasn’t any great either. Looks like they skimp out on food and charge a premium for no reason. I got the chicken and waffle, and my chicken looked like a filet of fish. The server gave me a small discount for the lack of food and taste. Go to park city cafe for real food and service.
A-aron — Google review
Seat yourself when we walked in. Waitress was friendly and personable. We ordered Finn’s Green drink - cucumber, kale, spinach, and celery with lemon wedge. Cucumber- forward. Very light and refreshing. Ordered the fried chicken with asparagus and potatoes. Chicken was crunchy and tender inside. Also had the reuben. Good amount of slice pastrami with a heap of sauerkraut and ample swiss cheese. Not overly dressed. Good flavor. Only down side was the sandwich bottom half was wet, which made eating a bit difficult. May have been sauerkraut juice. Finished with marzipan cake. Generous portion of layered, scratch-made vanilla cake with strawberry preserves, wrapped in a luscious layer of marzipan. Topped with whipped cream and sliced strawberry. Delish! Note to management, it’s great that the tables are cleared off quickly, but it’s just as important that tables get wiped down. The wiping down of all the tables that were cleared while there did not happen.

What a fun evening at the Chef’s Counter! Was nice to chat with the chef and watch the magic happen in the kitchen. Friendly staff and delicious food! Lamb ribs, fried cheese and artichoke, branzino fish was wonderful. Loved the plate sharing concept. Will return!

We celebrated birthday here. Particularly liked their sea food plates. Grilled octopus and crab cake are very good. Also liked their seasonal special main courses of seafood with a white wine broth (a bit salty) and spinach dumplings. Appetizers wise, i liked Tyropita. The server seems not as friendly though...

Greek-inspired Tapas and a Surprise Starring Role by the Sun Manoli’s is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve taken a quick trip to the Mediterranean—without leaving Salt Lake. The building itself is stunning, and the interior matches: bright, white, clean lines, and when the light’s just right, it’s like dining inside a dreamy Instagram filter. (When the light’s not just right, well… we’ll get to that.) We had a reservation (highly recommend for a Wednesday—it was hopping), and were seated right away. The vibe was lively but not chaotic, with a beautiful crowd and an equally beautiful menu. We kicked things off with a Bombay Sapphire martini for me and a Syrah for my other half. His wine was so good, he ended up ordering a second—always a good sign. We shared a round of small plates, including: • Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves—classic and solid) • Krytharaki (orzo with a satisfying bite) • Paidakia (Greek riblets—10/10, absolutely incredible) • Keftedes (meatballs in a cinnamon tomato sauce—spiced just right) • Pita and Olives (totally crave-worthy) Everything came out looking like it belonged in a food magazine and tasted even better. The riblets were tender and flavorful, and the meatballs had this cozy, unexpected spice that made them stand out. Truly, a fantastic lineup. Our server was kind and attentive—she made us feel welcome, even while clearly working the sunset dinner rush and managing several sizable tables like a pro. Now, about that sunset. We were sat at a two-top against the wall with a giant mirror. Lovely in theory—until the sun began to set, hit the mirror, and bounced a laser beam of light directly into my eyes. Thankfully, I had sunglasses. My partner had to bob and weave to stay in my shadow so the sun wouldn’t glare at him. But it made for great conversation as we avoided it the light. Manoli’s delivers a gorgeous space, warm service, and absolutely delicious food. Just beware of the spotlight-stealing sun near sunset. We’ll definitely be back.
Kimo K — Google review
We’ve dined at Manoli’s several times. The food is always very good. I love the variety on the menu; they have great vegetarian selections and the options change from time to time. The Saganaki is always a hit and the salads are a great size. I had the Branzino recently and it was delicious as well. It is a great option for a date night or a dinner with friends because the small plates are all so fun to share. If I had to critique, I would like to see a more robust desert menu. The ice cream flavor is constantly changing and sometimes I love it; sometimes I hate it. The donuts are pretty unremarkable.

Food quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Mouthwatering, deliciousness. I wouldn’t have changed a thing for my first visit to Manoli’s! Everything was fantastic from the moment I walked in, to the time I sat down at the Chef’s Table, to the time I finished my meal. The staff was very nice and welcoming, the atmosphere felt like a fine dining establishment, but with reasonable pricing. The chefs were so amazing to watch and see how quickly they move through the kitchen and how fast paced everything happens in the background. We watched all of our food get prepared, plated and served before our eyes and it’s definitely not something you see everyday. Everything we had was delicious and I can’t wait to go back to try more of the menu!

Oh My God. Thanks God, we found this place. I’m a Greek so I believe I can feel what taste should be. We went there in a weekday with my partner and one of our friend. The ambience, atmosphere is so elegant. I feel that classy restaurant feeling on the spot. They are super kind, and helped you to sit immediately, thanks God there wasn’t a waitlist. The busser lady got us water very fast, and server gave us enough time to see menu. When she came back, she introduced us the menu and Greek meze concept - my friend didn’t know. Our server’s name, I believe, was Ricky. She was an amazing person. Represented restaurant in the best way, amazing friendly attitude and helping intentions. All the food was amazing, dolmades - grape leaves - were amazing. I would personally prefer more sour, but that’s still very original Greek taste. My partner got lavraki and I can clearly say their fish is really great. Taste good, very fresh, and cooked exactly great! I also got Psomi, grilled Greek pita breads.. God, honestly, I asked for two times.. Maybe one of the best pita breads I’ve ever tasted in United States. I don’t know which flour and mix they use or where they cook but that’s the most amazing one. Very honest. Olives are good, they could also have some black olives, too. It’s upset that they don’t have only-beef keftedes. I expected variability on that one, if we consider different dietary choices. And my grandmother was doing beef only keftedes so I know that’s possible. And lamb burger exactly gives you what it promise! Really good taste. Their alcoholic cocktails are also amazing - cannot exactly remember the name of my drink but that’s was great, so I asked twice. Trust Ricky’s suggestions on that one. So overall, this restaurant is probably one of the best Greek restaurants in United States. Definitely will come back! Thank you guys, amazingly great job.

New American restaurant
SLC Eatery is a laid-back dining spot with an eclectic menu featuring a variety of international dishes, along with a selection of cocktails. The restaurant offers unique first course options such as cauliflower fattoush salad, Dungeness crab, mushroom parmesan ravioli, and grilled hearts of palm. For the second course, diners can choose from Wagyu beef, poached black cod, smoked celery root, organic chicken or crispy duck bo ssam for two.
We loved the breakfast brunch! A variety of cuisines listed and options for sweet and savory. I loved the savory scone- my favorite part of the meal! We shared the scone because it had a lot of oil and it was filling. I really liked the marketfish rice bowl as well, it had flavorful sauce and it was healthy. I added the updated menu in the photos.

Very good food! We loved the prawn - it’s served cold but so delicious. The focaccia is amazing. My duck was a little chewy, but very tasty. Everything tastes so fresh and you can tell they love cooking.

It was a little try hard for me. There’s nothing particularly special about the atmosphere or space. We got a few dishes and they were fine, but no wow factor. I would come here again if someone else wanted to come, but probably not of my own accord. When the server says the crust of the cheesecake is tough… probably not a place that’s worth the $$.

Hidden gem for sure! So cute inside, and the brunch menu had a splendid assortment of dishes. I ordered the Okonomiyaki Benedict 🤤 WOOOW! Also tried the Utah scone (savory) with smoked cheddar rillettes #yum

Portlander visiting SLC Eatery by way of local recommendation! I'm a major foodie and I was looking for a brunch spot during my visit. This place did not disappoint! Except the seating layout options could be optimized. In my reservation, I specifically requested to NOT be sat by the kitchen, and yet... The hostess takes us to a table adjacent to the kitchen. Had My reservation been for even an hour later in the day where the restaurant was completely full, I wouldn't have been able to switch tables. Thus, likely putting a sour taste in my experience there. (I just don't like to sit near kitchens, they are loud, it's not an unreasonable or uncommon request). More cozy chairs would be an idea! The menu was fire. No complaints there.

Amazing ambiance. This restaurant was a full on experience. Dim sum carts provide the opportunity to view the appetizers prior to purchasing them. I had the calamari fried rice, NY strip, Apple cheesecake puff pastry and washed it all down with a Hot Toddy. The calamari fried rice was jam packed with flavor and the crunchy rice was a nice touch. The NY strip was cooked to perfection and was so tender. The smoked potatoes and broccolini were also delicious. The dessert was heavenly and the hot toddy was refreshing and perfect for the colder weather. Overall SLC Eatery gets 5 stars for me. It was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and it’s a great place to bring your friends or significant others. It’s on the pricier side and I splurged a bit after tipping I spent $100 total. For the price it was well worth it!

wow, just wow! this restaurant is fantastic! they come around with a dim sum cart full of hot and cold options to pick from and that is such a fun concept to try new small plates! the shrimp were phenomenal i will say! as for entrees the mafaldine was absolutely delicious i wanted to lick the plate clean. the bison as well was wonderful and tender. oh and the service was so great! it was a great night having dinner here! 10/10 am recommending to anyone looking for somewhere new to try modern american classic dishes with a unique twist!

This was a fun spot that’s worth trying. Didn’t notice the two parking spots out front so we had to park down the street a little. The Utah scone was the highlight of the visit. The desserts off the cart were tasty, but the two chocolate/ricotta donuts weren’t anything special. One of the dessert was vegan and you would never know it! We were impressed with it but I’d like for it to have had a stronger pistachio flavor. The smoked cheddar drop biscuits were good, but I realized that I didn’t notice any cheese as the name implies. There was also a pretty strong fennel flavor, so if that’s something you don’t like I’d choose something different.

Urban Hill, located in SLC's Post District, is a sophisticated and elegant restaurant that offers a modern design with various seating options. The 192-seat restaurant boasts a transparent wine room and high-end amenities like magic bathroom doors. The menu features New American cuisine with seasonal offerings of vegetables, meats, and seafood. Guests can enjoy grilled oysters, coal-roasted beets, and skillet rolls served with churned butter and sea salt.
We had a wonderful experience at Urban Hill in Salt Lake City. 🍴 Food – Everything we tried was absolutely flavorful! The pork belly, the eel, and the potato gnocchi were all standouts—well-crafted and delicious. 🍸 Drinks – The cocktails were fantastic, especially the Old Fashioned and The Arborist. Perfectly balanced and crafted with care. 🤝 Service – The service truly elevated our evening. Taylor was exceptional—warm, attentive, and thoughtful. They even surprised us with a picture that made our day extra special. ✨ Overall – It’s a great spot for foodies and cocktail lovers. My only small critique is that the space doesn’t feel very intimate, so if you’re looking for a cozy, private vibe, keep that in mind. We’ll definitely be back!

I had a really great experience at Urban Hill and would definitely recommend it. We started with the lump crab chile relleno, which was flavorful and a nice way to kick off the meal. For my main dish, I tried the strozzapreti pasta. The pasta was perfectly cooked and had a subtle spicy kick at the end of each bite, which I enjoyed. I do think it could be even better with a bit of added protein, but it was still very good overall. My friend ordered the lamb porterhouse chops, and that was easily the star of the night. The lamb was tender, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. He really enjoyed it and said it was one of the best he’s had in a while. The service throughout the evening was excellent—our server was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The atmosphere is modern and lively but still comfortable, making it a great place for a night out. A tip: make a reservation if you can, since it gets busy even on weekdays, or plan to arrive before 6 PM. Parking can feel a little confusing at first, but their website explains it well, and once you know where to go, there’s plenty of space (just be sure to get it validated). Overall, Urban Hill is definitely worth visiting, and I’d be happy to go back and try more dishes.
Wattana C — Google review
Was a bit disappointed. The lamb chop was unevenly cooked and not really that flavorful, it was ordered medium rare and it was a mix of medium and medium well. The risotto was easily the star of that dish. The striped bass was decent, with the rice underneath being a little bit better than the actual fish. Overall the bass dish was good, but nothing special. The ceviche was not really like any ceviche I’ve ever had and was very disappointing. It was more like some sort of creamy seafood salad… the calamari was really good, though the chorizo was a bit salty. The cocktails were just okay, I love old fashioneds and whiskey in general, I was very underwhelmed by the blue velvet. Service was outstanding. Atmosphere was okay, kind of a weird spot it’s located it in. I was on the fence about a 3 vs a 4 star review, but ultimately went with a 4 given the service.

Celebrated my birthday here and the staff made me feel so special! They told me happy birthday, my name was on the menu, and a little dessert and photo to top it off! Our service was impeccable and our waitress gave amazing recommendations! We started with the ravioli and bread and a few cocktails. Then, for dinner I had the bass and my husband had the pork chop. We both enjoyed all of it! Such a great little spot that pays attention to detail and made me feel so special. Thank you!
Brittany H — Google review
Fast service, great food, such attention to detail and flavors. Never thought gochujang could be elevated like this… life changing. Pork belly was absolutely perfect, the best plate of it we’ve tried thus far. Fatty, moist, tender, paired with fresh and acidic ingredients, just everything we were looking for and hitting on all levels. Risotto and couscous cooked to perfection. Just an amazing experience! Not to mention they give you a polaroid picture for your birthday, had no idea what a pleasant surprise. Would absolutely recommend. Only critique would be the toffee pudding was underwhelming, especially compared to the UK. we’re used to it soaked in toffee sauce and the cake was a bit dry and just not enough caramel sauce to really soak the cake. That would’ve taken it up some levels.
Sarah H — Google review
I celebrated my birthday with brunch at Urban Hill. I loved the custom menu--very thoughtful and unique. Right away, the hostess and server were welcoming and attentive. The breakfast potatoes were a little bland and disappointing, but the blue corn crepes and adovado burrito were both fresh and very flavorful. The brown butter cinnamon roll was my favorite. I'll definitely be back to try dinner.

Amazing food and wonderful service. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavor. Service was excellent. My water cup was never below half full. The atmosphere is pleasant but it did get loud and hard to hear others in my party. We celebrated our anniversary and Urban Hill did not disappoint. Personalized printed menus, a souvenir photo and a yummy dessert.
Denise S — Google review
Sammy Jo the manager was friendly, interested in us and helpful. John our server was excellent. Yusif was on task with water and helping to clear the table. When the food came it looked so good I forgot to take pictures. The Bison was flavorful, the Roasted Chicken was juicy and not overcooked. The skillet rolls were great, the Bbq oysters were tasty, the cucumber salad was perfect and the deserts were high quality. The atmosphere was nice although the noise level was quite high. It was a Tuesday night at 6pm and the place was packed. We made reservations ahead of time for our anniversary and they printed special menus with our names and they took an instant picture of us with our deserts. This was a fun date and we will be returning to Urban Hill.

The Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City offers refined and modern rooms with free Wi-Fi, featuring spacious accommodations with balconies and superb suite bathrooms. The hotel's convenient location allows for easy access to popular attractions such as Temple Square and Greek City, with transportation options available right outside the door. Guests can enjoy two pools, a low-key American grill, and a small shop selling snacks and drinks on-site.
I’ve stayed at a lot of conference hotels, by far one of the best. The hotel is immaculate. Clean floors, base boards, polished wood, and the pool looks like it was built today. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and offer balconies if you’re in the garden area. Conference facilities are way more than adequate with plush carpet, projection systems, and audio. I would highly recommend staying!

Overall, hotel was fine for a 2 night stay. What I liked: 1) The interior design of the main lobby. 2) Friendly front desk staff. 3) Spacious clean room. 4) Room service every day (on day 2, they made my bed, but it was the same bed sheet since I saw a tiny black spot that was also there the night prior). 5) Strong shower water pressure. 6) Soda vending machine in the building I was in. 7) Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap bar smelled great! 8) Lot of outlets around the room including USB ports. What I didn't like: 1) 2/6 hand towels I used has tiny stains on them. One had a small pink stain and another a small orange stain. 2) Room initially smelt a bit like the inside of a senior home. 3) Mini fridge was in a drawer and would sometimes leak out water. 4) If you get food delivery, you have to walk over to the main building. 5) The room I got had a glass top table so when I was trying to do work, my mouse wouldn't work...luckily they gave me a hotel map that I used as a mouse pad! 6) The cold water knob on the sink was a bit faulty and wouldn't really be cold, so most of the time I was just washing my hands with some pretty hot water.

We stayed in the tower at the top floor for a night and had a great experience at this cute hotel. The view was amazing and the room had all the amenities we could have asked for including those for our toddler. Temple square and University Blvd are a short walk from the hotel. A small note to management: it might be helpful to offer guests complementary bottled water when they arrive. This was a glaring oversight which can be solved easily and will enhance the guest experience.

Everything was wonderful about it experience at this hotel. The staff members were super friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is so charming with a lot of amenities. We ate at the restaurant multiple times and it was delicious every time. We will stay again in our next trip here. I highly recommend!

We stayed here for one night and will definitely be back. We upgraded to a tower room which we are so glad we did. It was spacious with a sitting area, desk, and large bathroom. We also had an amazing view of the mountains. Little things I appreciated…furnishings were nice and felt like home, hvac runs constantly and is wonderful white noise, there are night lights you can turn on in the bathroom if you like, and it was super quiet. There is also an amazing breakfast place on the ground floor. We were able to walk to a close by restaurant for dinner as well. 10/10!

Beautiful hotel. Our room was nice, but not in main hotel. Breakfast was WONDERFUL! A hot line and a cold line with omelettes made to order, and just about anything you would want for breakfast. Tablecloths and servers bringing coffee, and tea.

This is my second time staying at Little America for work, and once again, I'm reminded why this hotel stands out. The property itself is stunning, but what truly sets it apart is the exceptional staff. During my first visit, I had a less-than-ideal experience with noisy neighbors who made it nearly impossible for me to sleep. I called the front desk, and although the situation was difficult to resolve fully, the staff did everything they could to assist. Even then, I had nothing negative to say--the level of service and the overall atmosphere were outstanding. Now, I'm back for another stay. While checking in, the front desk attendant, Carolyn, asked if I had stayed with you before. I casually shared the story of my sleepless night, which I now find amusing--though at the time, I was completely exhausted and not in the best mood. Carolyn listened with warmth and empathy. At one point, she excused herself briefly, and when she returned, she told me that, as a courtesy, my room had been upgraded. I was genuinely shocked--and deeply touched. It was such a thoughtful gesture and one I hadn't expected. Carolyn didn't have to do anything, but the fact that she listened, cared, and took the initiative to make my stay more comfortable meant the world to me. It's small acts of kindness like this that leave a lasting impression. Carolyn went above and beyond. She was friendly, attentive, and had the kind of energy that makes you feel instantly at ease. After a tough week, her kindness truly felt like a gift. To Carolyn's managers: she is the epitome of excellent customer service. Later in the day, I saw her helping a new team member with remarkable patience and grace. She is clearly a natural leader and an asset to your team. If anyone deserves a promotion, it's her. You have a gem in Carolyn, and thanks to her, I'm already looking forward to my next stay at Little America.

Best birthday mini vacation ever. They upgraded my room when they heard it was my birthday and our waiter at the buffet gave me a piece of special birthday cake with a lit candle and everything. Great service. Amazing pool on the second floor. The only thing is you have to pay extra to park on top of the already pricey rooms.

Nestled just across from Trolley Square, the Trolley Cottage Café is a delightful gem in Salt Lake City that promises a memorable dining experience. This charming café boasts a menu filled with gourmet breakfast options that blend French-inspired dishes with American flair. Guests can indulge in classic favorites like omelets and eggs Benedict, or try something unique such as pain perdu—French baguette toast drizzled with orange Grand Marnier butter sauce, complemented by fresh berries and mascarpone cream.
Beautiful cafe! I have visited France and it does a great job making you feel like you are at a quaint Parisian little cafe. The employees were attentive. We were a rather large group. I will come back on my own. I had to take one star from the food as there were no accommodations made. It was written in their menu. I respect that, but as someone who visited with someone with a gluten/dairy allergy accommodations would have been welcomed.

After a 45 min wait we were seated, service was impeccable, quick and thoughfull. Generous glass of sparkling wine, good coffee. Food presentation was lovely, loved the ceramics. Love the compact menu. I ordered the Parmesan brioche toast, eggs were perfect, everything well seasoned. I only wished they used a thicker, toasted slice of bread as it got soft and soggy with all the sauces. Space is a bit tight. Not a great spot for a break up ;) would come back on a less busy day.

I have been coming here for brunch for the last 3-4 years. The service here is stellar, and the staff always makes me feel welcome. On top of that, I have never seen cleaner bathrooms in my life. All of the options are fairly priced, and there are several vegetarian dishes as well. After trying everything on the menu, I can confidently say my favorite is the parmesan brioche toast. All the flavors meld together perfectly for in-your-mouth explosion of taste. Every plate is made with the freshest produce, and comes out fresh and ready to enjoy. If you are feeling extra hungry, I recommend ordering the pancakes to go with your meal. They are incredibly light and fluffy, and come with the perfect amount of fresh berries and cream. Personally, I love that there is no wait list, as it makes the whole experience more rewarding.

Intimate, fun little spot for brunch! I loved how you could tell it was family-run. The decor on the inside is really cute and I really liked the small, limited menu—it was a good little change of pace as we’ve been trying new brunch spots around the city. Also, the food came out in probably 5 minutes, no joke. That was also on a Sunday morning for brunch, which was particularly impressive.

Cozy and nice restaurant. The food was really good. This is a great spot in the salt lake area for a brunch. As a side note the restaurant needs more aesthetic work, service was awesome and the outside tables are nice to sit down and have a nice chat.

Tucked on the corner of 700 East and 600 So is a charming little cottage that you’ve probably driving by a thousand times. This adobe cafe is truly a hidden gem!! Serving an upscale Sunday Brunch, complete with Mimosas, Macchiatos and Mexican Coke, this adorable cafe offers a variety of delicious dishes as well as the option to sit either inside or out. We went in on a late Sunday afternoon and sat inside. The decor and ambiance of, what appears to be an old home converted into a cafe, creates that “at home” feeling with the upscale vibe you’d expect from a cafe in this area. We shared their Eggs Benedict and Croque Madam. Both dishes were beautifully plated and bursting with flavor!!! I was pleasantly surprised when the bill came and it $33.93 for both dishes. We did only drank water, but walking out of an upscale Sunday Bruch under $50 (including tip) put a smile on my face I definitely recommend giving this place a try.***Side note, plenty of parking in back and some on 700 East**

Frankie and Essl's is a charming breakfast sandwich eatery located near Liberty Park. Opening at 7am, it caters to early birds. The friendly staff explains their homemade items and helps customers choose from a variety of options. Their Sausage, Egg and Cheese sandwich with bacon add-on is pricier than fast food chains but the quality, size, and delightful taste make it worthwhile. The orange juice is also delicious with its clean ingredients.
Truly deserves all the 5 star reviews. While it’s a small menu, they really EXCEL in the options they provide. I can seriously say this is the best breakfast sandwich we have ever had. We got the bacon egg and cheese and the sausage egg and cheese. The chipotle aioli is the perfect addition and the staff was friendly & quick. Highly recommend!

This cute little place has good breakfast sandwiches, and they might look small but are very fulfilling. The downside here is that the parking is tough to find a spot, but parking spaces in the back of the building are only available at certain times.

What a fantastic breakfast sandwich! Service was great and friendly, got the sandwiches extremely quickly! I enjoyed how crispy/crunchy and smoky the bacon was, the eggs were perfectly yolky, the chipotle aioli hit the spot, combined with the brioche bun is such a banger! Enjoyed the spicy sausage as well, with a little bit of arugula that had me feeling guilty free eating it. I will definitely be back!

Couldn’t recommend this locally-owned spot enough. It’s easily the best breakfast sandwich in the valley! Ordered the Canadian bacon sandwich before a ski day, and it kept me full through four hours on the mountain. The brioche bun was *chef’s kiss* and the arugula added a nice freshness that’s often missing in breakfast sandwiches. To top it off, they had unlimited self-serve coffee that took a good morning to a great one. The staff was friendly and the pick-up counter had an open window to view the entire kitchen staff assembling the sandwiches. They all wished me a good morning as I picked up my sandwich—talk about a community centered spot! Can’t wait to grab another one on my next ski day. Would definitely recommend!

I guarantee you will love this place. Located near Liberty Park, Frankie and Essl's is a cute breakfast sandwich shop that opens promptly at 7am. Perfect for morning people like me! The staff was kind, explained to me all they make in-house and guided me to decide on the Sausage, Egg and Cheese with bacon add on and an orange juice. My sandwich cost more than a chain fast food breakfast sandwich, but for the quality, the size, and the amazing taste, it was well worth it. I can't tell you the last time I had a breakfast sandwich so damn delicious. My orange juice was delicious and had clean ingredients which I loved. As I was leaving they said goodbye to me by name which was the cherry on top of my experience. Can't wait to go back!

Our new favorite breakfast sandwich spot! We got a sausage egg & cheese and a bacon egg & cheese with the aioli sauce. My favorite was the sausage breakfast sandwich with the spicy honey sausage. Who knew such a simple breakfast sandwich could be so good. The sausage breakfast sandwich is elite. You can tell that every part of the sandwich was carefully put together with quality ingredients. From the soft and fluffy bread, the perfectly cooked over easy egg, and the sausage with a little bit of kick to it. The sandwich was a perfect sized brunch and so the $10ish it costs. I tried the smash burger with fries, an excellent option if you’re craving a good burger. You order through a tablet, so it’s relatively easy, and the food was ready in about 6 minutes. Nothing to complain about — everything was excellent and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely come back.

Takeout review: Ordered a 2 meat platter with brisket and corned beef - both were solid. Pickled onions and pickles come with it. Had 4 sides: Collared greens, fries, coleslaw, and the ube cornbread. Collared greens were my favourite and were super flavourful. Fries also came quite crispy and seasoned well. Wings here are quite big but a little dry and could be seasoned more.
David X — Google review
I have only tried two dishes at Hog and Tradition, and both have been really delicious. The first time we went, I got the brisket grilled cheese. It came on nice toasty and buttery bread that was packed full of tasty brisket and multiple types of melty cheese. It had a good amount of flavor, but I will say it's pretty rich and heavy, which is to be expected. But overall, it's a solid option. The second time we visited, I really wanted to try their smoked turkey club sandwich after seeing a picture online. It did not disappoint. It was by far the best club sandwich I've had. The bread was the same as the brisket grilled cheese, nice thick buttery toasted bread. The smoked turkey had a lot of flavor and was not dry at all. The bacon had a good amount of flavor without being too much. The chipotle mayo was also a nice touch. The seasoned fries are pretty solid. They are a thicker cut fry, but they still usually retain a nice texture. The seasoning on top of them is also pretty good. My only complaint is both times we visited, the fries were barely warm when we received our meals. They still had some crunch, but they definitely weren't freshly fried. They had been sitting for a little bit. Service was a little bit weird. Everyone was nice, but the self ordering on the touch screen is kind of weird. It's nice in some cases, but this one just functions a little weird to me. I wasn't sure if our buzzer activated at the end of the order, as there wasn't really anything to confirm that it was activated. It was okay, but no the best. The atmosphere is hall pass is usually pretty nice, but it is usually high energy and sometimes it can be difficult to find a good place to sit. But it's not usually that crowded, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Amazing experience. Super easy to order off the Kiosk. Once I did the guy behind the counter was really appreciative and super cool. I got the Cubano, Mac N Cheese, Beans and the Blueberry Peach Cobbler and MANNNNNNN 💥 💥 💥 it was amazing. The beans were personally my favorite. Overall it was great. The dips that came with the sandwich were great too I think the yellow was a honey mustard. That one was definitely 👌 great. I'd definitely recommend this place.
Eddy O — Google review
First time getting this place. My lady and I tasted the fries and they almost tasted like mold. Or something. We don’t know but tasted off for sure. The seasoning was great and just think maybe the meat or fries were bad. Don’t know. Than we both felt sick almost like food poisoning. She had it worse than I did. We just ended up tossing the food that cost us about $70 so Just beware. We really wanted to like this place since famous Dave’s closed up shop.
Robert K — Google review
The brisket sandwich was horrible. If you want good bbq, don't go. As a good neighbor, I feel an obligation to warn others.
Zach W — Google review
We did not have a good experience at this place. It was a Saturday and pretty packed, noisy, and bustling. The way they handle the workflow of customers and food is confusing and not intuitive. The workers are running around building orders and none are very friendly or helpful to customers. You order yourself at a kiosk, grab a vibrating, blinking, light bar and go wait for the food to appear on a tray. They were out of several products, including the pulled pork that I wanted. I ordered the brisket which tasted like a simple, non-flavorful pot roast. The fries were good and crispy. The Purple Yams were amazing and exceptionally delicious - I could eat just that it was so good. And the "Ruby sauce" was a tasty combination of ketchup and BBQ sauce, however, they don't give you enough for your meat. I had half a small container to use on my large slab of meat and fries. My wife thought the mac and cheese was lovely and enjoyable. However, we were not impressed over all and probably won't be back, except maybe to get more Purple Yams.

Man!!! This place serves good food , great beer and has superb service. Everything was great, I only wish there would have been a bit more tentacles in the calamari and even for a couple of bucks more, a bigger portion size of it. Ian C. , our helper was an amazing human and he got a hug from me, I am sure he remembers. Wholly Beer was stupid delicious!!!! Cannot wait to go back. Vic

Met here with about 20 people and were able to get a large table and a couple of smaller tables all together. Was very appreciative of the staff to accommodate us. Our server, who waited on all the tables was awesome. He was very attentive and was very willing to make recommendations. There is an awesome selection of both draft and can/bottle beers. The food menu was extensive and reasonably priced. I had the half rotisserie chicken with mixed vegetables and horseradish mashed potatoes. The chicken and vegetables were very good. The mashed potatoes were also good but they were really lacking of a horseradish flavor! Still very happy with my selection. Others at my table had: Margarita Pizza - good Chicken Parmesan - good Red Rocks Burger - just okay. Average cost of a meal and draft: $25 before tax and tip. Overall good experience.

They sure do make it difficult to find food in the city at night. This was one of the only places open that had food around my hotel. The Red Rock Golden Halo was solid. I could have had another easily. The pizza was a decent pizza, almost tasted home made - nothing fancy. Great stuff when there were no other restaurants available though. The place looked a bit run down though, could have been just because it was later at night.

The ravioli was some of the best ive ever had, it was delicious. The fried pickles however were a bit of a let down. Lots of food choices, its definitely a little more expensive than some casual dining places but fun for a special occasion. Lots of alcohol options although lacking a bit in the cider department. We sat at the bar and it did take quite a long time to get greeted or offered a menu, and then we eventually had to flag someone down to order as we just kept getting passed by over and over again, but I overall enjoyed it. Probably won't be back anytime soon just due to price but again, good for a special occasion!

We ended up here thinking we were going to a Pizza joint, which happened to be next door. But I am happy we went. Our experience was different than what the restaurant rating suggests. We really enjoyed what we ordered, the Red Rock burger, the Shishito peppers and their brownie. We also tried two of their beers on tap. I had the Saison and my wife tried their strawberry lemonade sour. I thought my beer was closer to an IPA, but I liked it nonetheless. My wife also enjoyed her sour. The wait staff were very friendly.

Amazing beers. I did a taster and loved all of them. Decent food as well though the black bean “burger” comes with the patty in a pocket.

Great experience, seated very quickly, plenty of tables and awesome environment. The ribs were good; just wish they were alittle more tender. But the craft beer was excellent. Highly recommended!

Stopped here twice while in town for my daughter's volleyball tournament. The first time was for takeout.i was a little disappointed that my food was ready when I got there because I wanted to have to wait a few minutes and have one of their beers at the bar. I got the vegan hot honey sandwich and it was really good. My daughter had chicken Alfredo and a Caesar salad. She said it was good. I went a second time with a large group of parents and they were able to accommodate the large group. The food was good and I recommend the Elepiphino or fukiphino beers.

Brunch restaurant
Market Street Grill Downtown is a classic restaurant that has been serving fresh seafood since 1980. The dining room offers an elegant and nautical ambiance, making it perfect for any lunch or dinner gathering. The menu focuses on seafood, including oyster selections and fresh catches, as well as steaks, prime rib, and pastas. Additionally, the restaurant serves burgers and other dishes.
Market Street Grill is a really good seafood restaurant. We went here a few weeks ago and had a great experience. All of the food was very good. I would highly recommend it. The chowder is great, as was the Rainbow Trout and Crab Cakes. While it can be a bit spendy it is certainly worth it for special occasions.

Of the three locations near Salt Lake City, this one is preferable. Our server, Kaleb, provided excellent and attentive service. Parking may be difficult unless valet service is utilized. The interior is dated; therefore, those seeking a modern atmosphere may find it unsuitable. However, it is highly recommended for seafood enthusiasts. The establishment boasts a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, including beer and wine. The cedar plank salmon is a personal favorite, and other seafood dishes are equally impressive. Vegetarian options are limited; advance inquiry regarding dietary accommodations is advisable. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Authentic atmosphere; very friendly. A big observation we made was the wide age range of their employees. I feel this added a warmth and delightful atmosphere to the establishment. Our waiter was ‘GUS’. By far the nicest person we met on this six day trip in Salt Lake City. An older gentleman but could outwork any 30 year old. Every employee I saw was hustling around with a purpose and they seemed to be happy to be working in this restaurant. Kudos to the owners, you definitely are doing something right.

We ordered the fish and chips and mushroom risotto. Both came with a bowl of clam chowder soup. The chowder is a big serving, so consider this before ordering a bunch of appetizers. I ordered crab cakes first, then got the bowl of soup…I was stuffed by the time I got my entree. Pace yourself :) Our waiter was very nice and funny. Enjoyed our dinner.

Disappointing Experience for the Price I really wanted to love Market Street Bar and Grill in downtown SLC, but it missed the mark. My husband’s steak was so bland he joked he would’ve gotten more for his money if he got food poisoning. The pasta was flavorless, and the drinks were practically all liquor—no balance at all. The appetizers were okay, but nothing memorable. On a positive note, our server did a great job despite being the only one covering the entire restaurant on a busy Friday night. Overall, for the price, the quality just wasn’t worth it. I wouldn’t mind giving it another try someday if I hear things have improved.

Outstanding establishment. The food was amazing, the service was excellent. An upscale restaurant without being pretentious. Gus our waiter was very attentive and informative. As an out of Towner this was a wonderful place to eat!

First time in SLC, and we were looking for seafood. A couple of people recommended this spot. The restaurant is large, with an open kitchen and a mix of booth, table, and counter seating. When we first walked in, there was a strong fish odor — yes, it’s a seafood restaurant, but it was stronger than I usually encounter. We were greeted by a very friendly host and seated right away. We had reservations, but they didn’t seem necessary, as the place was quiet with only a few other tables. We started with waters, a bottle of white wine, and an appetizer of calamari. The portion was generous, with a nice mix of rings and baby squid, and the marinara sauce was tasty. For entrées, we ordered the Salmon, Trout, Caesar Salad, and the Wild Mushroom Halibut (a special). While we waited, they brought out bread and butter. Each entrée came with a choice of salad or clam chowder. The salads were standard, but the chowder was very good — lots of clams, thick, and flavorful. The portion was quite large, so I didn’t finish it in order to save room for my meal. The entrées arrived hot and in good portions. The Halibut was good, though not outstanding; the mushroom ragout was a bit bland and slightly too salty, while the polenta was decent. The other dishes were fine, but none of the guests were especially enthusiastic. We saved room for dessert and shared the Raspberry Almond Torte, Midnight Chocolate Cake, and Sabayon. All three were very good — an excellent finish to the meal. Service throughout the evening was very good: attentive without being overbearing. We lingered until after closing (they closed at 9:00, and we finished around 9:20), and the staff was patient as they cleaned up around us. Overall, it was a good meal with solid service, but it didn’t make our “can’t wait to come back” list.

I grew up in Seattle, eating seafood at Salty's and Anthony's, an Arnies, and Chinooks, and all the other waterfront seafood places... and the crab here was hands down infinitely better. Their Calamari and coconut shrimp were also on point. This is my new Birthday Dinner tradition.

Restaurant
Valter's Osteria is an elegant Italian restaurant located in Salt Lake City, offering a sophisticated dining experience. The restaurant features a stylish setting with a bar and open kitchen, creating an upscale atmosphere. Owned by Valter Nassi, the restaurant aims to provide an authentic Tuscan experience reminiscent of his mother's kitchen in Italy.
Went to Valter’s for an anniversary dinner and as always, they didn’t disappoint! It’s always such a fantastic experience when we go here. The food is amazing. 10/10 experience! We tried the gnocchi and homemade lasagna this time and the lasagna was probably one of the most amazing dishes I’ve ever had. Lemon gelato w/ honey drizzled over the top with sea salt is also a must get!
Nicholas T — Google review
One of (if not the best) dining experiences I’ve ever had! I got the 3 course meal (which was actually like 5) and was blown away by the service, the food, and the atmosphere. All of the employees were kind, polite, and observant. There was never a moment where we were not greeted, thanked, or served. Drinks were always full, and the food kept coming and coming! They did a fantastic job explaining each element of the dishes they served us - the ingredients, the sauces, and the pairings. Now the food was phenomenal. You could taste that everything was fresh and only quality ingredients were used, especially with the meats, the pasta, and the sauces. Also, the extra virgin olive oil they use here is to die for! I could drink this stuff by the cup. Some of my favorite dishes were the limoncello pasta, the spicy gnocchi, the arugula salad, and the prosciutto w/ burrata. The dessert was also amazing, and so fun to watch our server prepare it in front of us. I definitely recommend coming here for your next fine dining experience, to celebrate a big milestone, or for a special date night. You’ll love it!

Valter’s Osteria is simple and elegant, though nothing outstanding. The ambiance works, refined and comfortable. Service was below expectation for this price range. Basic tasks like order accuracy and the server’s presence was lacking, the Spanish staff for other tables were present with their tables. Staff for us was mimicking politeness and was not fully present. (Lacking awareness , focus and attentiveness. Food had balanced flavors but poor texture. The pasta was soft and overcooked, and the sausage in the carbonara was burned to the point of being inedible (thankfully removed from the bill). The pistachio “gelato” had great flavor but the texture was closer to ice cream. Overall, solid flavors and presentation, but execution and service need refinement. I’d return in a few years if those improve.

Can’t wait to return! Everything from the service from our beautiful waitress Kaitlyn to the hot bread with the garlic oil to the food everything was delicious. I want to try their lasagna and other night specials. Everything is served table side and portions are big enough to share. Make sure to reserve or you risk not getting in. A+ in my book

The food was incredible—no wonder this place has such a great reputation. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous complimentary offerings: bruschetta, house bread with dip, and even hot chocolate sauce with biscotti at the end. We ordered the Caesar salad, pasta sampler, pollo della casa, and a seasonal salmon dish. For dessert, we had a seasonal special: fresh peaches with gelato, topped with lemon, honey, and sea salt. It was definitely the star of the show. The service wonderful. Sergio was warm and attentive. My only complaint is that the tables were very close together, which made it hard to have a private conversation. It was easy to hear our neighboring tables conversations which we didn’t love. Loved the food! We will be back.

The food at Valter’s was out of this world and our server, Sergio, was also a star! They treated us so well and kept adding food to the table. True hospitality. Everything was delicious, definitely recommend.

Overall, this is a very nice experience most of the items at least all the ones we got were served tableside, which is a really cool experience. The service was amazing no doubt. But for me personally I would skip the pasta sampler sure it’s cool to try for different pastas, but not necessary. The table side Caesar salad was good- personally it wasn’t my favourite dressing that I’ve had for tableside, but my husband thought it was the best one he’s had. We also had the duck, which was good, but nothing mind blowing. I personally loved the carbonara, but my husband was not a fan thought it was more of like a fettuccine with just too much cream and also was not a fan of the caramelized onion in there. The one thing we both agreed on was the gelato- that was phenomenal. It was expensive $26 or $28 for a dessert is extremely expensive. We had the lemon gelato with the peaches, but honestly, it was so delicious. The peaches were so good and the honey they pour on top of the gelato was so amazing that I went back the next day to buy it.

Dining at Valter’s Osteria in Salt Lake City was truly an honor. From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable. The food was absolutely exceptional — every dish was crafted with care, depth, and incredible flavor. It’s rare to find a restaurant where the quality of the cuisine and the quality of the service are equally outstanding, but Valter’s accomplishes both effortlessly. One of the most impressive aspects of the evening was the staff’s knowledge and genuine familiarity with the menu. The servers don’t simply describe a dish; they understand it intimately. Several dishes and salads were prepared tableside, adding a level of artistry and connection that elevated the entire meal. It’s a rare and wonderful touch. Our wine selection was excellent as well. We chose Valter’s signature house bottle, which paired beautifully with the meal and showcased the curated experience the restaurant is known for. I can’t say enough good things about our waiter, Zachary. He was professional, polished, and incredibly helpful when offering recommendations. His passion for the restaurant and its traditions was clear, and his service was an unforgettable part of the evening. What touched us the most was how intentionally the staff works to keep Valter’s memory alive — not just through the menu, but through the warmth, dedication, and hospitality he was known for. The service and product remain exceptional, and it’s clear that his spirit continues to guide the experience. We are visiting from out of town, but after this evening, Valter’s Osteria is absolutely a place we would return to on our next visit. Thank you for a truly wonderful experience.

Red Iguana 2 is a lively Mexican restaurant in Salt Lake City, known for its festive atmosphere and diverse dishes from all over Mexico. Since 1985, this family-operated eatery has been serving up authentic Oaxacan-style cuisine, particularly renowned for its freshly made mole sauces available for takeout. The menu features a wide range of traditional Mexican favorites such as enchiladas, tacos, burritos, and tostadas.
Mauricia was an amazing waitress! Very attentive and gave us great recommendations. The food was super good! We enjoyed the mole sampler. I got the mango enchiladas and they were so good!! Lots of food and very reasonable prices. The desserts were yummy as well. Can’t wait to come back! It was very busy but the food came out so quick! Very efficient and impressive.

The food was good, nothing too crazy to write home about. People talk about how it’s the best Mexican food they have had, and maybe I’m a harder judge after living in Texas but the food was good, not great. Waiter was good! I would go back and try again.

We had a great experience visiting Red Iguana 2 during our trip to Salt Lake City. The food was excellent. I ordered three tacos with shredded chicken and my husband got a steak of some sorts. The flavor of both was really good and we enjoyed it. Our waiter was fabulous. The atmosphere was so great. I loved the art and the lighting. Great palce for a family dinner, we had a family of 9 and they got us right in. Parking wasn't available right next to the restaurant bit we found it just down the street.

Great Mexican meal. Simple decor. Very busy - easy to tell it is well liked. I had iguana plate with beef, and a margarita. Both were excellent on taste - five star. Contemporary pricing. Some off street parking. Would definitely return.

I want to give it 5, but I just can't. We heard about this place all the way down in Florida and we were told by locals that it's the very best there is. We were seated quickly, party of 4, but then saw that we were ignored for atleast 10 minutes or longer, while the tables on both sides of us were catered to - being seated after us. This does not sit well with me, huge pet peeve. Chips, salsa and drinks need to be done within 1-2 minutes of being seated. The chips and salsa were great. Really good. The drinks are good. Wife had the limon drop and it was REALLY good. The rest of the food was about what we would expect. I had the red iguana plate and it was good, wife had the chicken enchiladas and they were just standard offerings you would find anywhere. The nachos were decent but I think the Mexican food spots down south know how to nacho much better. The chimichanga was solid. Nothing to rave about, but a good meal. Overall our party of 4 was content. We were slightly let down based on the reputation, but we were not disappointed overall. One thing we didn't really care for was how soaking wet most of the entrees are. Maybe thats just their style, but it was quite soggy. Location was great! We might be back before we are out of town. Maybe try the other location and all different entrees. Solid place overall. 👌

My experience here was okay. I ordered tiger prawn fajitas and was disappointed to receive smaller shrimp instead. They were good, but not necessarily something I think I'll find myself craving or unable to get elsewhere. I did quite enjoy the vibe of the place!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We heard Red Iguana 2 had some of the best authentic Mexican food in Salt Lake City, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The place was packed on a Saturday night, which was a great sign that this is the place to be—and the lively, colorful atmosphere made it feel like a true fiesta. The salsa was fresh and flavorful, and we loved that the chips were gluten free (a big plus for my wife). They came out warm and perfectly crispy—I’m pretty sure they were made in house. We also ordered guacamole, which was fresh, creamy, and full of flavor, served with plenty of chips. For mains, my wife went with the enchiladas, smothered in rich sauce and cooked to perfection, and I ordered the carne asada burritos, which were hearty, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted homemade and authentic. Our server, Deya, was wonderful. Even with the restaurant packed, she gave us great attention, made recommendations, and had our apps and entrées out surprisingly fast. She also checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. If you visit, I’d definitely recommend asking for Deya—she made the evening even more enjoyable. Between the incredible food, the vibrant atmosphere, and the outstanding service, Red Iguana 2 is a must-visit when you’re in Salt Lake City. We’ll definitely be back!

This photogenic French bakery is known for its delectable coffee and pastries, making it a popular spot for breakfast and early afternoon visits.
Shout out to Tate, he’s the reason this place is getting 5 stars. Overall we were happy with our experience, we didn’t have to wait long to be sat and attended, Tate had stellar customer service! I’m typically not a fan of scalloped potatoes, however, the seasoning that was used on Eva’s scalloped potatoes is unmatched. The vinaigrette used on the mixed greens was amazing and our entrees were delicious. The atmosphere made me feel as if i were in Paris, a very cute bakery I would 10/10 recommend. This bakery exceeded my expectations, thank you Eva’s bakery and Tate!

Eva’s was recommended to us by the hotel staff when we were looking for a delicious and unique breakfast spot. It’s located on a busy downtown street along the trolley line, in a vintage building painted in blue and gold. There are café tables out front under shady trees, and inside you’ll find an amazing counter of pastries and sandwiches, with additional seating in the back. Hint: Many people stand in line, order, and take their food and drinks to-go. If you want to sit in the restaurant, you can skip the line and wait by the dining area. A staff member will ask if you’d like a table and will seat you. We came on two consecutive mornings (because the first visit was so good). Over our two visits, we tried the Almond Chocolate Croissant, Vegetable Quiche, and Roasted Beef & Avocado Toast. Everything was excellent — fresh, flavorful, generous portions, and beautifully presented. You can tell they make everything with care. They also offer all the usual coffee drinks, and my London Fog Tea Latte was very good. Service on both visits was professional, efficient, and patient. Even though it was always busy, we never felt rushed. The dining room was full but quiet enough to have a conversation. I would have loved to take more pastries to-go, but we were too full. Definitely a place we’d return to!

This place has the cutest little Parisian café vibe! We stopped in for breakfast before an event, and I immediately added it to my list of go-to spots. It was a busy morning, but they got us seated quickly. I’m not usually an eggs Benedict girl, but the Boulange Benedict is absolute perfection!! …and that sauce?! 😋 Consider me officially converted. The portions are generous, so definitely grab a cookie butter latte (trust me!) and a croissant to go. The staff couldn’t be sweeter or more attentive, and the cozy blue-and-gold café aesthetic will make you want to linger all morning. 💙☕️✨

Their bakery and cafe items are outstanding. Had a very large eggs Benedict on fresh bread, covered in Benedict sauce that was also quite fresh (this is not usually the case!). My bene came with the choice of either their house potatoes, a green salad, or half of each, offering a lighter accompaniment to an otherwise decadent dish, which is awesome to see. My mocha was nicely balanced and not overly sweet, another thing that can be difficult to find! Service was prompt. Parking could be a serious challenge, thanks to the location downtown, but well worth it.

Cute little cafe with good vibe and foods. I went there with my friend and her kid for brunch and ordered a few things and we all enjoyed the food. The portion is good and the price is reasonable. Our egg benedict was tasty and the stuffed french toast was also good. Now, what I didn’t really like about the place is how tiny it is. With 2 adults and a baby, we were seated at a tulip table. We almost couldn’t put everything on the table. I think the restaurant should sacrifice some tables to put a bigger table. Most of the seat I see is probably suitable for one customer with only a few tables that can comfortably seat more. If you go there by yourself, this is great or if you go on a date, it is borderline ok. If you want to go with family or friends more than two people, I will think twice unless you are ok to wait for the only few bigger tables they have. Our server was ok, while being polite, I don’t think he did a great job. When we asked if we can be reseated in the bigger table, he just disappeared on us. I understand if other customers are waiting or something but at least he should let us know the reason and not just like “I’ll ask my manager” then gone till the food-serving time and made a comment like “it’s pretty tight here”…duh? That’s why we asked for another table. He also came and asked us to pay while the baby was still eating and I totally get it. Although, he grabbed a plate that there was still food in there (not a lot) without asking (technically he asked if he could removed my empty plate and I said yes, but that doesn’t apply to another plate with food in it). So, in summary, I like the food and the vibe. The space and service were ok and can be improved. Like I said earlier, come try for yourself or with one more company.

It was very crowded around 11:00 on a Sunday. Since I was alone, I was shown to a small space early. The eggs Benedict were very delicious, and the takeaway croissants and blueberry Danish were also excellent. The staff were very attentive and it was a great place.

I found this while searching ‘gluten free breakfast’ and options were limited for my date- but everything was delicious!! The staff was amazing, especially when we had to narrow down options for gf, the Eggs Benedict was made with potatoes instead of bread, and it was great! She was a little tortured by all the beautiful croissants and pastries that I could eat, lol. The quality of the food was gourmet- a master level bakery! You have the option to sit down - and it’s impressive how fast they can seat you! Or you can get a coffee and pastry like at a regular coffee shop at the counter. This was a fun meal and a good place to bring out of town guests for a great experience! When you can eat gluten, it’s even better! I got the French toast made with fluffy bread and a light lemon cream cheese filling. When ordering the team is great at personalizing the dish with swap outs and add ons.

What a great experience for a last meal before flying to Australia. The share plates beef carpasio and burrata were excellent. I had the prime ribeye and the others had the petite medallion. All excellent with the Fleming potatoes and Brussels sprouts as side. An excellent meal

This restaurant is FANTASTIC. From service, wine selection, presentation and food, the experience was perfect in every way. I do wish they were able to enforce a dress code as there were a few men in ball caps but I would assume Utahs demographic wouldn’t support that. Which is ok. Either way, it was amazing and I can’t wait to go back.

We came to Fleming’s expecting a good dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. The food was okay, nothing special for the price. The steak was decent, but not memorable, and the overall food quality was just ok. Most of the sides lacked flavor. The one standout was the chocolate lava cake, which was delicious. What really brought the night down was the service. Toward the end our waitress completely disappeared. We overheard her saying to other waitress that her friends had shown up and she wanted to take care of them instead. No follow up, no refills, we eventually had to flag someone else down just to get our check and that’s when she showed up again.

Great service and vibe. The food was good as well, but my steak was just warm—not hot—but still super tender and cut like butter. Some of the sides are better than others. Our faves were the calamari, jumbo shrimp cocktail, brussel sprouts, and the way you could have a steak with the lobster tail added on. We also loved the lava cake and crème brûlée at the end!

I took my husband last night for his birthday. The server we had was rude when I asked him to stop clicking his pen continuously while we were trying to order. I let it go. Then he dropped off the check and never came back so I went to the hostess and asked her to check us out. The manager came back with my check already with a discount (which I was not asking for) then asked a few questions. I shared my encounter with the server earlier and she grabbed my check and said I am removing more. I tried to not let her but she left no room for argument. My husband and I come here for all of our special occasions, we are always treated like family. I left with that same feeling. Our table was prepared with Happy Birthday confetti and a card signed by the staff. These special touches are memorable. Thank you to this Manager, I wish I would have gotten her name. She was in an adorable chocolate brown suit. We actually booked a special lunch they throw for next Sat! This will continue to be our special place! ❤️❤️

I absolutely love Flemings!! I have gone a couple times and I am impressed every single time I go! The drinks are super delicious! I got the margarita and it was very flavorful! For the steaks we got the filet minon(mine) and bone-in ribeye. The steaks are amazing!! Best steaks in all of Utah! They seriously just melt in your mouth and every bite is full of flavor! The sides we tried were the Flemings potato, chipotle Mac and cheese, and the mushrooms. All of the sides were so good! You need to try the Mac and Cheese! If I could give a higher rating I would! I love this place! We were also celebrating our anniversary and they set up the table all cute for us and also gave us a card. Perfect date spot!

Great restaurant. Service is amazing. Steak was seasoned really well. Use the valet service so you can park right in front of the restaurant. They have a really good Pina colada. Try chocolate lava cake.

Nestled in the charming Sugar House neighborhood of Southeastern Salt Lake City, The Dodo Restaurant is a vibrant bistro that offers an eclectic menu perfect for brunch or a casual meal. While many flock to savor their renowned Tollhouse Pie, the restaurant also boasts an impressive salad selection featuring fresh ingredients and generous portions.
Im from out of town we stopped in to this gem Friday about 7:45. I was expecting a wait with a full restaurant but thought we would see about the wait. We were promptly seated no wait. Our server (wish I caught her name) was awesome from beginning to end. The food was phenomenal we got the artichoke pie for app delish, tomato soup, salad, ravioli, fruit and crackers (kids menu), banana cream cheesecake and their pride cake! I will definitely be back with friends! The pride cake has a frosting like cheesecake filling im not one that like frosting but I could eat just that as well as their home made whipped cream! Knocked it out the park. We also would have sat outside but it was getting windy. Lots of shade and a great area for seating! And to top it off our waitress saw us taking photos and offered to take one for us and here it is! 10 stars!!! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Also the ducks are regulars as well Frank likes to bring a friend i was told.

For me it was just a regular restaurant, nothing exceptional on the menu. The menu was boring but when the server told us about the specials things started to sound more interesting. We ordered from the specials. The food was good, can't complain. The servers were pleasant and the place was clean. No raving review, just a decent place to eat at. My advice would be to jazz up the menu a bit, I hope that's what you're testing with the specials.

The Quesadilla appetizer was great! Both sandwiches we ordered were also so good. Then We ended it with the best Pie. The blueberry sour cream. It was Excellent!! Server was so nice ans provided great service. Dodo is a staple to the Sugarhouse community!

I’m not super hyped about Dodo. Took a while to get a seat, but we did have a big group. Food was average, nothing special. Most people in the group made comments about things tasting just ok, so it wasn’t just me. We had tres leches cake and it was really dry. Not a ton of people were in the restaurant but it was surprisingly loud. They do have lots of parking, so that was nice.

We decided to visit Salt Lake for our vacation. After travel the city, we say this location across the street from this popular park, Sugar House Park. The place has a Italian vibe but hip. We sat on the patio. The night was breezy and comfortable. The hummus was great. The pork tenderloin is a staple item on the menu. The Sugarhouse Old Fashion is another excellent choice if you are looking for a cocktail.

In celebration of the Utah State holiday, pie and beer day I popped into the Dodo for cherry sour cream pie with a walnut crumble topping and whipped cream with a Basil Hayden on the rocks! Beer…bourbon… close enough! Great service! Highly recommend MIKE the bartender.

Dodo is an absolute vibe- I don't think you can make a bad choice with their menu. Fits all of the vibes and levels of dress depending on your night. So many options and everything we had was amazing.

Delicious food! I love Rueben sandwiches and The Dodo's does not disappoint. One suggestion I would make is that their salads can be purchased in smaller portions along with sandwiches. A soup and salad combo option would be great too.

The farm-to-fork entrees showcase unique plant-based fare like eggplant ratatouille with spinach quinoa and Thai Sunrise coconut curry with sesame stir fry vegetables.
Visiting Utah from NC and we are vegans so we're looking for vegan restaurants, came across this one and thought to give it a try and it didn't disappoint us. Everything we ordered was yummy, portion size is great and the ambience is amazing. Service was a little slower as they were understaffed but everything else was great. Love that everything is vegan and we don't have to think about what to order.

We stopped by to try some vegan desserts. Tried the carrot cake and caramel chocolate torte. The carrot cake was one of the best I have had. The torte was a bit dense. They do not serve coffee so ordered tea. The blue tea was wonderful.

Great gluten free options. The nachos were incredible, and my wife was skeptical that they were vegan. We are still not sure because they tasted amazing! Staff was nice. Seating and meal readiness was outstanding for a Saturday dinner. I advise not to park in the lot just north of the restaurant. That place is sketchy. The reverse osmosis water accented the meal in such a way! Apparently this is a type of water purification that uses a semi-permeable membrane to separate water molecules from other substances.

This is a nice vegan restaurant. The food & drinks we ordered were all just OkAy. Nothing was fantastic or amazing. It was pretty standard vegan food. We had the bbq pizza, pulled bbq sandwich, and tacos. Also, we had the grapefruit lemon drop cocktail. All just meh. We also ordered desserts, the carrot cake, and the cheesecake. Both were horrendous! Absolutely terrible. 0/10 would not recommend. Side note, I killed two bugs at my table. One crawly thing and one spider. Sooooo? The service was nice, she was nice and helpful. It's not a place I'll go back to. I love vegan food, and this place was just not it. Don't go out of your way for this place.

Amazing option for vegan food lovers! It came highly recommended. We got the jackfruit pizza and nachos and Brussel sprouts! Everything was a touch too cheesy, in my opinion. Great, classy vibe. We went for lunch and didn’t have a wait. There was good, casual service. Thank you, Zest!

The Tofu Benedict is INCREDIBLE! The taste and texture of it is just perfect. The tempeh bacon was so sweet and had such a good texture. I wish I could have ordered two of these!!!! We had breakfast/brunch twice here, and also got takeout to bring on the plane back home. We tried The Mountain, The Avalanche, and got the Breaded Chikun Sandwich and Barbecue Tigers to go. Everything was fantastic and super delicious! Service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Had a great experience at Vertical Diner!

An absolute dream to dine here for dinner and breakfast while passing through. This is hands down the best vegan food I’ve ever had. The cheese sauce and gravy were exquisite. I have to admit, as someone who isn't vegan, I wasn't sure what to expect when my friends suggested we go to Vertical Diner for dinner. I was mostly just tagging along, but I was immediately struck by the incredible atmosphere as soon as I walked in. The place has such a cool, retro-diner vibe, and the art is amazing. The detailed mosaics and colorful murals on the walls are fantastic and create a fun, welcoming environment that you can feel the moment you step inside. The positive experience just kept getting better. I honestly can't even remember the name of the dish I ordered, but it was absolutely delicious. I was genuinely surprised by how flavorful and satisfying everything was, and it completely changed my perspective on what vegan food can be. What stood out just as much as the food was the service. Everyone working there was so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. They must treat their employees well, because the positive energy was infectious and made the whole meal that much more enjoyable. Overall, my visit was an unexpectedly great experience from start to finish. For a non-vegan who was just going along with the group, I was completely won over. Vertical Diner is more than just a restaurant; it's a whole vibe. Between the incredible art, the surprisingly tasty food, and the absolutely stellar service from a happy crew, I would recommend this place to anyone, vegan or not. I'll definitely be back.

Satisfied our hankering for a biscuit and gravy breakfast, the gravy was delicious. Particularly loved the fried Mac and cheese bites with that mustardy dipping sauce as well as the flavorful and non greasy tofu scramble. Peanut butter milkshake was also quite a treat, and enough to share.

First off I want to make it clean I am not a Vegan and wanted to try an all vegan restaurant for breakfast. I’m sure their food is much better for vegans the key demographic they cater to. Service was fantastic everyone was very friendly and talkative. The overall vibe felt great. So I was told their biscuits & gravy are a hit so I got them plus a basic breakfast dish including potatoes and what was obviously now eggs or sausage. The biscuits & gravy were indeed delicious full flavor and served hot. The potatoes were great and that’s where I was done. I tried the makeshift eggs and didn’t like the taste and tried their tofu sausage patty and didn’t like the taste. The flavoring was different and I just couldn’t adapt. I assume those who are into that kind of food would enjoy it much more and are used to the particular flavor. I’ll continue to enjoy my bacon and eggs the way I like them but if I ever go vegan this place will be a weekly meal. 🫡 Respectfully

So many options (all vegan!), it was hard to choose. The non- vegans with me said several times that they would be going back. I had the La Mesa, which continued to be fabulously delicious to the last bite. (I had them trade the soyrizo for sautéed mushrooms). Also loved the Mac & Cheese, the biscuits (gluten free) and gravy, the curry and the tiramisu. The entire menu is available all day. Highly recommended.

Lake Effect is a downtown Salt Lake City craft cocktail bar that offers an intimate setting with live music and Spanish-inspired small plates. The Rabbit Hole Lounge, located in the basement, provides an exclusive and unique space for hosting events, featuring flickering candles and carefully curated decor. On early Wednesday evenings, the lounge hosts quiet 'jazz room' nights with local and touring jazz acts.
This place was amazing! My husband and I came here for our anniversary and we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was great and the live music was amazing as well. I believe his name was Nate so sorry I forgot! We ordered 4 tapas and a salad and had drinks and the portions were a great size and the food was very flavorful! Definitely get the lamb skewers they were my favorite! Service was okay but luckily everything else made up for that!

We really enjoyed the bar and had great service. The food was good and the drinks were great. The atmosphere was good with great vibe. We will return if ever in Salt Lake City. My plan was to give 5 stars but upon review of my receipt, we had a 3% charge for live music. While we noticed someone setting up, there was no live music while we were there nor was it close to starting. For this we deducted one star. This is clearly a management/owner decision. Charging for services not provided is wrong.

Great spot. Beautiful decor and had live music during the day. In town from Atlanta visiting a friend and we just happened to find this place. Bryan Blanco was our bartender and was incredible. My husband and I are both in service industry and we have both worked all positions from server to bartender to manager—- so we can’t help but pay attention to everything going on and all little details when out to eat/drink. We were very impressed with the establishment and extremely impressed with Bryan in particular. Bryan was super patient, clearly interested in his craft, very knowledgeable and most importantly, super kind. Some of the best cocktails we have had in a very long time. Laid back, yet elevated atmosphere. Will def return if visiting Sat Lake City again. If you like gin, the Queen of Hearts is delicate and just downright delightful.

Did someone say speakeasy? I am checking it out. This spot is dark shabby chic. The countertops are concrete. Whoever decorated this; I need you at my house. I started civilized with the charcuterie board. Then I dove right into the lobster and shrimp skewers. Then I got this huge bottomless salad of arugula, feta and grapes. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I was there on a Tuesday night and they had live music. Fantastic atmosphere and wonderful food items.

The atmosphere at Lake Effect is incredible. Super cool bar and a great place to go hang out with people and have a bite to eat. The Tin Can Nachos with Barbacoa are arguably the best nachos that I've ever had! Presentation is unique for nachos and the portion is huge! I love bison burgers and the Lake Effect burger delivered. Food came out fast and wait staff were good overall. Overall, a cool spot in downtown SLC.

White Horse Spirits & Kitchen is a modern bar with a classic ambiance, offering an array of craft cocktails and locally sourced dishes. Located in Salt Lake City, it provides a cozy atmosphere for enjoying fresh oysters, delicious sandwiches, and an extensive selection of wine and rare spirits. Whether you're there for lunch, brunch, or dinner, the menu features elevated options such as patty melt, oyster poboy, braised short rib, and Snake River steak lyonnaise.
food quality: 5/5 service: 5/5 cleanliness: 5/5 value: 4/5 Don’t skip on: The Fried Brussel Sprouts! First time to White Horse and it was a wonderful experience! Reservations are. A must since this place is so popular and space fills up quickly. Bar seating is first come first serve, which is another option if you don’t get a reservation made in time. My table and I tried several different items including: fries, fried brussel sprouts, clam chowder (with real clams), duck breast, Croque Madame, Mac and Cheese, Bacon cheeseburger, and the grilled gem salad. Everything turned out so delicious! There is also a very extensive menu of liquors, beers, and wine to choose from. I’m super surprised at the variety that they carry! Be prepared for a HUGE menu to read through! Prices were a bit on the higher end, but not extreme overboard. The restaurant staff was very attentive and welcoming, and the restaurant itself was clean and presentable. Can wait to go back and try more!

This place is awesome! The service, food, drinks, and atmosphere are all amazing. I was surprised how roomy it is inside, with lots of seating options. The drink menu is extensive, and they have a fun option for a bartender to make a custom drink with your favorite ingredients. The food was phenomenal. We had crispy brussel sprouts to start, Wagyu beef, and crab cakes. I don't have enough words to describe how delicious everything was. Oh, and chocolate lava cake for dessert! Well definitely visit again.

White Horse is first and foremost a cocktail bar. They have a great collection of house designed cocktails as well as classics. I was only there for lunch, so our experience may not necessarily be representative of the food options. That being said, I had the patty melt. It was a perfectly cooked burger topped with caramelized onions, gruyere cheese, and Russian dressing. It was delicious! So was the Reuben. The salmon was perfectly cooked as well. This is a casual place, and it is close to the Salt Lake City Convention Center. I highly recommend it!

Top 10 restaurant in Salt Lake City. They deserve this. Ribs was amazing and not small as it is written 😉. Had an amazing brunch at White Horse Spirits & Kitchen in downtown SLC on Saturday. We went after hitting up the Farmer’s Market, and arrived around 11:30a. There was no wait and several open tables. Our waiter was amazing, demonstrating excellent knowledge of the menu and offering several recommendations based on our food preferences. I cannot speak highly enough about the eggs Benedict! It was served atop a homemade biscuit (light and fluffy!), with thin sliced ham pillowed on and perfectly poached eggs. The accompanying potatoes were very flavorful and not dry. Of note, the pastrami eggs benedict was also highly recommended by our waiter. They make their pastrami in house. That’ll be on my list to try next time! The Bloody Mary was on the spicy side but also delicious. HIGHLY recommend White Horse weekend brunch!!!

I visited White Horse for dinner and a cocktail while in town for a conference and it did not disappoint. I did not have a reservation, but was happy to sit at the bar in front of the incredible wall of liquors. Around dinner the place was fairly dark but that provided a nice ambiance to the place. The lighting behind the wall of liquors is really a focal point here. Watching the bar tenders climb their rolling library ladder throughout the night to grab different bottles was so unique and I loved it. The service was great and the food was even better. I ordered the Clam Carbonara and a Tainted Love cocktail. The Clam Carbonara was spectacular. The portion size was perfect and I literally wouldn't change one thing about the meal. The cocktail was delicious, albeit really small. That's something to get used to when traveling to SLC from out of state. Pricing is the same as a cocktail elsewhere, but what you get here in Salt Lake is much smaller than expected. At the end of the meal, the staff provided my check in a book, which I thought was so cool. The book was signed by a bunch of previous visitors with compliments to the bartenders. I thought that was really unique as well and I loved it. Highly Recommend White Horse, and getting a reservation if you're a party of more than one! It did get pretty loud in the restaurant so keep that in mind when planning your visit.

A top notch bar, this is. The view of the liquor cabinet is the thing that catches your eye first. I worry about it after finding out Utah is susceptible to earthquakes. The bartender, Max, is a true chemist and botanist, who will fix you up with what you’re actually looking for, but perhaps you don’t even know at the time. They have a bar roulette on the menu - go for it and have a good time. The niftiest thing is they give you a card with the ingredients afterwards in case you loved your drink. Food was good. They have a very interesting food menu that I would love to hit up again to try the other options. At the end they give you your check inside a real book, used as a guest book! Theres some fun stuff to read while you’re checking out.

The Grand America Hotel, located in downtown Salt Lake City, is a luxurious and opulent AAA 5 diamond European-style hotel designed by the same designer as the Ritz-Carlton. The 24-story hotel offers spacious rooms with balconies providing stunning views of the mountains. Each room and suite features handcrafted Richelieu furniture, original art pieces, and Italian marble in the bathrooms.
The Grand America is such a beautiful hotel. I stayed there for three nights for a summit that was hosted there and I must say it was an amazing experience. The housekeeping staff were great. Although I didn’t need cleaning everyday, they made sure to check if I need towels, blankets, take trash out, etc. The hotel staff at the summit were all amazing and did an amazing job hosting and service over 1400 people. I can’t forgot to mention the front desk and restaurant staff members who were all great and made our stay enjoyable. I’d definitely return next time I’m in Salt Lake City.

This was a last minute hotel booking for a concert, staff was very courteous and actually seemed happy to help. Have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels where the staff just didn't care at all about you. Every staff member we talked to was courteous and eager to help out. Food from room service was lacking flavor but it's what I have come to expect in Salt Lake City. View from the room was awesome

We treated ourselves to a stay at the Grand America this past summer to celebrate our son’s wedding and our upcoming 10th anniversary. We had a truly wonderful experience and would definitely stay again! The staff are incredible, the rooms and property expansive and elegant, food excellent, and views amazing! We each stayed in the executive view 1 king suites - and these rooms are lavish! They have a separate living room, giant marble jetted tub with separate shower and toilet rooms, French doors, and TWO balconies with gorgeous views of Salt Lake City. My DIL and I came the day before for an afternoon tea in the lounge and afterwards the concierge was gracious enough to give us a tour of the rooms and the spa pool and facilities. PRO TIP - be sure to ask for the west facing rooms for incredible sunset views! You won’t regret it! I handled all the bookings online myself (very easy) and surprised the kids with some cakes and macarons as well as their “Grand Celebration Cake” since the poor kids didn’t even get themselves a wedding cake lol!! The cake was absolutely gorgeous and so delicious - the kids loved it and told me they had a great time cutting it together later that night - it made their day so thank you Grand America!! I also surprised the hubby with a “confection collection sampler” for our anniversary which comes with four small slices of a variety of their cakes. There was a blueberry cheesecake, a chocolate moose cake, chocolate tart, and tiramisu. Omg their cakes are FANTASTIC!! Every single one of them. Highly recommend! Before dinner we all had fun swimming in their indoor spa pool and then relaxing in the hot tub. It’s such a beautiful indoor pool area with incredible views, tons of lounges to relax on, and chic spa vibes. After we cleaned up, we all had dinner in the on site restaurant, The Laurel, and ommggg that food was off the charts amazing. We will definitely be coming back here again. The hotel is extensive with several food options and shops. Everything about it is grand opulence - giant chandeliers everywhere surrounded by marble, rich colors, and historic furniture pieces. It really is like staying in a French chateau. We saw so many guests wandering around in their robes which was so funny - and after our morning swim we did it too haha! We wandered down to the little French cafe in our robes and had breakfast LOL! Our stay was such a treat - nothing but fun, relaxation, opulence and extravagance! Tysm to all the staff for making our celebrations that much more special! We’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The location was convenient, and the atmosphere felt peaceful and relaxing. I especially appreciated the attention to detail and the quick service whenever I needed assistance. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and enjoyable stay. The highlight was definitely the room view — it was absolutely breathtaking! Waking up to a beautiful sunrise and relaxing in the evening while watching the city lights, mountains made my stay extra special. I’ll absolutely be coming back!

We stayed here and absolutely loved it. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with so many thoughtful touches. The location was perfect and made it easy to explore the city. The service was mostly great, although there were a couple of small moments where it felt a bit slower than expected. That said, everyone was kind and professional, and the overall experience was still amazing. The whole hotel felt elegant and peaceful. We especially loved the lobby and the outdoor areas. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking for a special and luxurious getaway.

This hotel is spectacular. The decor is grand and the service is very good. Room service food is the best I've tasted. High quality and served hot and quickly. Drinks in the lounges were nice, but it was crowded and the table service was slow. The Laurel lunch is wonderful and the pastries were French quality. The fitness center is super clean and has all you need to get a good work out. The ambiance of this hotel is first rate and the prices are reasonable for such a wonderful, high end hotel.

I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. It was a business trip, so I didn't get to choose the place. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The property is immaculately clean. Very well appointed, and spacious. Tall ceilings and large open areas. The rooms also have taller than average ceilings and lots of space. My room had a shower that was kind of small, but everything else in the room was quite large. The bed was comfortable, the towels were average, service personnel were very friendly and in general the hotel was quiet. There was a person playing the harp in the lobby most evenings which was really nice. If I am back in Salt lake City anytime soon, I will choose this as my place to stay.

Fabulous place and environment, location for the price. Great Value. However, things I wish it were different. It's an old building converted into a beautiful hotel. A) Lotsa of wasted space, even inside the rooms. You will see a lot of Glittery Gold everything in these rooms, the bathroom with a sink is a room, commode is a room, powder room is a room and then Lotsa room in the standard room. B) Throughout the hotel there are spaces that appear very Maze like. Very confusing with 2-3 doors that look identical. For a casual user, you will get in easily, however have to pause and think which door you came in. C) Could use some extra directions inside the premises. For ex -- Way to the garden inside the hotel stops the directions abruptly. Leaving you to figure them out. Morning/Daylight time it's alright to find you way to the garden. However in the evenings, I think it's not that easy. Rest is all good. I have a 5 stars rating inspite of the above.

HSL, short for Handle Salt Lake, is an upscale American restaurant offering chic contemporary ambiance and a menu with modern twists on classic American dishes. The restaurant's stylish and verdant space provides an urban oasis, inspired by the partners' destination wedding in Tulum, Mexico. Located near the Avenues and Capitol Hill, HSL features stunningly plated locavore-driven cuisine that varies with the seasons.
HSL provided one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had—truly unforgettable! From the moment we walked in, the greeter was warm and welcoming, setting the tone for a wonderful evening. We were seated on the cozy green couch, which was perfect for an intimate conversation with my husband. The timing of the food was impeccable—each course arrived at just the right moment, allowing us to savor every bite without feeling rushed. Our waiter, Connor, was exceptional. He gave us space to enjoy our meal while staying attentive with water refills and thoughtful recommendations. His knowledge of the menu was outstanding! The food was absolutely divine. I had the fried chicken and kale salad, both bursting with unique and flavorful ingredients. My husband raved about the beef cheek and hamachi. Every dish was perfectly executed, making it the best dining experience I’ve had in over 15 years. Thank you, HSL, for turning a night out at an upscale restaurant into a romantic evening to reconnect with my husband. I can’t wait to return for my birthday in February!

5’s all around for HSL! For starters, we came for our anniversary dinner and the whole staff had signed a “happy anniversary” card for us (🥹). I was told that this was a great place to get two apps, two sides, and a main to split. While we ended up with two mains anyway, I agree with that review 100% because the entrees are large and there are so many good smalls to try. Apps to try: beets with citrus and cheese (the dill was a surprisingly strong pairing—loved it), biscuit (maybe as a dessert on account of its syrupy sauce, but it was a table hit… i.e., with our two year old especially). Pork shank was clearly one of their best and most served dishes. Fell completely off the bone, expertly cooked with a citrusy sauce to complement. Not sure if Monday’s are always half off burgers but apparently it was a good day to try that one! My husband’s review of it was that the fries were perfectly cooked, sauce was unique and tangy, and burger toppings were fresh; but the bun was crumbling-apart-dry unfortunately. There wasn’t anything special to the meat either. For a high end restaurant where kids are not common, everyone did a great job with ours!

A delightful night spent at HSL! This quaint restaurant is tucked in to a modern building but when you walk in, the vibes are warm and inviting. The staff are intentional and well informed. My favorite dish of the night was the special mushroom toast with multilayer flavor and texture. The wine list was impressive. I highly recommend checking out HSL for a cozy date night or night out with friends!

It’s the second time I’ve been there so I feel like I have at least enough experience to add a review. This most recent time we went with our infant. They were very accommodating to having our infant which I appreciated. The service was great! I loved the pork belly. I could have eaten 20 portions of that dish. The General Tso’s cauliflower was great also. We split the fried chicken. Its crust was great and had a terrific flavor. My only issue was the chicken breast was pretty dry. I did wish it was dark meat but that is just personal preference and nothing specifically wrong with the dish itself. I would recommend HSL to others if they wanted to visit.
Orien L — Google review
I made a dinner reservation at HSL to welcome the new year. I highly recommend this restaurant. We ordered the pork belly and beet plates (from the ‘hot’ and ‘cold’ menu sections, respectively) to start, and then steak for our entrees. Everything was beautifully plated, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. I will add that for an elevated dining experience, the prices at HSL are extremely reasonable and portions are large! Our server Ruben was efficient, pleasant, and unpretentious— which is refreshing. Everything about the HSL experience feels upscale and special without any unnecessary snobbery.

Very cool atmosphere and great service. Me and my wife ordered three sides and one main to share. My favorite was the steak and cauliflower. I ordered a yummy gin/amoro cocktail that I loved and my wife loved her vodka cocktail too. I’d definitely come back again!

Great for girls night! Plenty of seating! Our server Lo was very friendly and provided excellent service! We were a rowdy party of 6 and she remained positive, polite and patient with us! The atmosphere was very relaxed, we were there for 6pm and within the hour the house filled up. We did a round of drinks, apps, shared a bunch of dishes, and finished it with a dessert! Every plate cleaned! All of the other ladies enjoyed themselves as well! And we definitely will be back! Thank you HSL for the great food and drinks!

Been going here for years. The seasonal menu and cocktails always make for a nice refresh. Cauliflower, pork shank, fried chicken, biscuits, mushrooms, hamachi, any of the cocktails. Anything on the menu is delish. Service is great. Wine menu is solid. Usually can swing in and can get bar seating without reservations.

FOOD WAS AMAZING! Our server was very quick and kind, and everything tasted so good. Food is well worth the price. The portions are huge, and the area was clean despite the restaurant being very busy when we went. There’s a bit of construction outside which makes it difficult to get to, but it’s so worth it! Great experience.

Been visiting this location for 20+ years and it never fails to be delicious. I tried the coconut pancake for the first time last week and they were pretty good, however the French toast will always be my favorite! The plates come with quite a bit of food, so sharing is always an option to save some cash.

Yummy breakfast every time. 💯 OPH Sugarhouse never disappoints. Mariela was a fantastic friendly server who gave us exceptional care. I enjoyed the Classic American Breakfast, with both hashbrowns and pancakes, upcharging buttermilk pancakes to pecan and adding cheddar cheese to scrambled eggs. The best country style bacon, fluffy pancakes and real breakfast food.. 10/10

Simple yet delicious! The food was everything you’d want from a good breakfast spot flavorful, and fresh. I had a mix of bacon pancakes and pumpkin pancakes, and both were fluffy, perfectly cooked, and not overly sweet. The fresh orange juice was amazing too, so refreshing. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and since we went on a Monday, there was no wait at all. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for classic breakfast done right!

Mariela was super attentive. So very friendly. The food is cooked fresh and served up quickly. Buttermilk Pancakes 10/10. Swedish pancakes w/Lingonberries 10/10. Bacon was crisp and so good. Would highly recommend this location-overall service 10/10!

Restaurant
Proper Burger Company is a laid-back burger spot in Salt Lake City, known for its creative burger options and house-brewed beers. The restaurant offers a simple patio with ample seating, making it a great place to enjoy your meal outdoors. A popular choice is the Proper Style burger, featuring caramelized onions, American cheese, zucchini pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, and proper sauce.
This place had a ton of vegan options as well as your typical carnivore. What we really liked about it was there was a lot of flavors and burger specialties you could order and it is right next-door to the brewery where you can grab some great beer.
Justin B — Google review
The burger was incredible!!!! The prices were reasonable for how much was between the buns. The fries were a good upgrade as well. Friendly advice: Go for the burgers but don’t stay for the beer. The beer is not good.
Karson W — Google review
Basically I stopped here. I had to meet a client and thought I would just have a burger while I was waiting for him. I just wanted a lettuce wrap bacon burger. The burger was really dry. No flavor to it. The bacon I had one piece of bacon. They don't know how to make a lettuce wrap. They don't have anything for a lettuce wrap. We just have chopped up lettuce. Basically I'm getting a salad with a burger. That's horrible. If you want a burger, don't come here. The place is really clean though the people are friendly. The staff is nice. They didn't ask for a tip. I don't know where you leave a tip but that's good. $22 for a burger. No fries. No sides, no nothing. Definitely wouldn't recommend the place or come back here

If you’re looking for a good burger, look no further! They have such a fun selection of burgers that there is something for everybody. I had the Sundance kid and would’ve never thought of putting Fritos on a burger, but it tasted so good. they also have good onion rings.

Really good burgers, definitely going back to try some other options since they have a lot in their menu! The burger was cooked well, the buns are super tasty, and they have a really good garlicky dipping sauce for your fries or onion rings. Wasn’t super impressed with the fries, but the burgers were great. A bit on the pricier side, but not horrible.

We saw Guy visited on DDD and knew we had to stop - it did not disappoint! We kept things pretty simple with the proper and MOAB and they were super juicy and satisfying. Of course the MOAB is giant, but the proper was a decent size as well - no complaints! A highlight was the buns, they were doughy and heavenly. Friendly service, too.

Bakery
Breakfast restaurant
Tulie Bakery is a popular spot in Salt Lake City known for its seasonal French pastries, sandwiches, and carefully sourced coffee. The bakery offers fantastic pies available only during the Thanksgiving season, with options to choose from in their pastry case or pre-order a larger pie. The flavors change annually but favorites include apple pie with caramelized apples and pecan pie with bourbon and orange.
We love this bakery! We started off by visiting their stand at the Salt Lake City farmers market for weeks getting croissants, plain and raisin, we loved them. Today we visited their actual location, baked goods overload. So much to choose from. The blueberry muffins are hands down the best we’ve ever had. The blueberries are huge and the muffin is moist and delicious. The danish was sweet and tasty. Plan to visit more to try everything once. Can’t go wrong with this bakery.

The redeeming quality of this place is the food. Otherwise the cafe is hot, you have no cell service and I’m sorry but in 2025 why do they not have WiFi? I couldn’t even get an uber to get out of there. This has not only happened to me but my friends as well when they have visited. It’s a safety concern. I ended up having to pay for Wi-Fi just to leave. I waited 20 minutes for toast when I was only one of two people in the cafe. The staff are short at best and very consistently rude. They didn’t have a place to put your dishes that I could find so I cleaned up my trash as best I could and left my one plate and one cup. Was yelled at as I left so I walked back in to buss my dishes after I said sorry I couldn’t see anywhere to put them. It felt like they wanted to embarrass me. I very much regret tipping on my TWO purchases I made and hate that I spent money here. I will never go back.
Megan — Google review
Had a lovely morning walk to Tulie last week after reading so many great reviews. I’m a huge croissant fanatic, so of course I had to try one! The service was on point and the coffee was delicious. The croissant itself was buttery, flaky, and really well made. I went with the egg and cheese croissant — the cheese was perfect, but I did wish there was a bit more egg to balance it out. The ratio was just slightly off, but overall still a delicious breakfast and a great spot to start the day.
Sejal P — Google review
Overall feeling underwhelmed with the experience here. Service left a lot to be desired, we came at a not so busy time but there was still limited staff and a wait. Our order was just left on the counter without letting us know, rather than brought to the table or even calling our name. Pastries were high quality and served cold. Drip coffee was great, no issues. No free Wi-Fi in sight, which seems strange for the environment they have and limited or ability to stay here to enjoy our food and drinks. Most jarring here is the pricing ($7+ for a croissant!). Without ordering specialty drinks we spent more than $13 per person. Far more than I would expect for small cafe.
Laurel B — Google review
Favorite bakery in town! Everything here is so tasty and really just done right. We love everything here, but my favorite is the sticky bun. I always ask for it to be warmed up. We also got a piece of the Yuzu Olive Oil cake today, thought it was a little too sweet. But, it was still good none the less.

I'm a flight attendant, and I love going to different bakeries on my layovers. I went here on Friday Aug 22 around 1:00. The man taking orders at the counter was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I ordered the ricotta toast, which was good. Its important to note that my cell phone stopped getting service in this area (I have ATT), I couldnt access maps, messages wouldn't send or receive, and I was traveling for work so I was using uber and Lyft. My phone was trying so hard to work that it began over heating. I couldn't call an uber to get back to my hotel, so I asked if they had wifi. I was rudely told no they don't in order to keep people from being on laptops, I understand, but I explained it was a safety issue and I couldn't get cell service to get back to my hotel and it was over 3 miles, too far to walk. I ended up walking about a half mile until I got to an area where I had cell reception. Overall this was a very uncomfortable negative experience and I did not feel safe. I ended up having to walk about half a mile and have my boyfriend send me an uber from 1,000 miles away. All of this could have been avoided if the staff put any effort into customer service or had an ounce of compassion. When it's a matter of safety, I feel like the shop's WiFi should be made available. The food was fine, not worth all the trouble and there's definitely better options with owners and staff who are more deserving of your money.

Great bakery for coffee, sandwiches and baked goods. Can’t go wrong with any of the baked goods. Cookies are buttery good. Staff is very nice and friendly. It’s usually busy all times of the day. Highly recommend.

My wife and I tried this place a few days ago and I’m still thinking about how good it was! We don’t normally eat things sugary like this, although if you want to live a little this place is really good! We had their avocado toast as well as their almond croissant and they were the best of its kind we have ever had!

I love Even Stevens Sandwiches ❤🍔 I ordered the Jackfruit Torta. My companion ordered the Salmon Filet Sandwich. Then we ordered the Beer Cheese & Pretzel Bread (we had to try it). Staff was super friendly 🌈 They were very quick with our order ⏳. And let me tell you about the food! The Beer Cheese & Pretzel Bread was very obviously the best choice as soon as we tried a bite. Absolute heaven to your taste buds ☁️😇☁️ The sandwiches were perfectly balanced & delicious as well. It's also amazing how involved they are with helping out the community - every sandwich you buy, they give a sandwich to a local nonprofit. Definitely recommend! Plus they're open later than most other sandwich shops - bonus ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤

Some good food, I wouldn’t say too expensive compared to other places. However they were out of a couple of their sides so that was a little frustrating.but they were still considerate and hospitable. Chill environment . But I don’t think I’ll come here again.

This place is awesome, I got the Ruben sooooooooo goood I took pictures but I'll be honest they are possibly lost and wouldn't do any justice this place is a place you MUST VISIT. I'm gonna come back plus they have booze heck yeah!!!! A sandwich place who serves Mamosa is a place I want to be! The prices are fair the place is clean good environment good workers everyone seems happy to be there nice feel. A place I would reccomend to my mother! If you haven't been you must!
Jordan F — Google review
This is my first visit so maybe their other food is good. I will return at least one more time to try something else. I had the Ruben sandwich and the Corned Beef was low grade, at least half if not more was fat. The sandwich was $10 which I think was too much for the low grade meat and size of sandwich. They say that you can upgrade your chips or salad to another side for $2 so I asked for their tater tots side and the cashier told me that side wasn't included in their upgrades 😂
PS M — Google review
Here’s the deal. This place has good food. The parking is not so great. The tables have a sticky varnish like finish on them that everyone at my table was complaining about. The bad news is the prices are too high for what you get and to top it off, you wait in line and bus your table and they stand there while you pay and hope for a tip which creates an awkward situation. Awkward because there’s a no-tip button you want to push but don’t have your food yet so don’t dare push it... So overall good not great and for same money can go up street and get waited on at other restaurants.

Nestled on 4th Avenue in Salt Lake City, Straw Market SLC is a charming café that beckons breakfast and lunch lovers alike. With its inviting window-lined ambiance, this spot serves up classic dishes such as hearty breakfast burritos, fluffy French toast, and delicious omelets. A standout feature of the menu is their signature cinnamon rolls—large, soft delights made fresh daily for just two dollars each and vegan-friendly!
Came in on a weekday morning right as they opened and was met with the absolute nicest customer service possible. Was looking for a breakfast burrito and a cinnamon roll. Was told the cinnamon rolls are done usually 30 mins after they opened which wasn’t an issue. It was absolutely worth the wait. The breakfast burrito was nothing fancy but super fresh and good sized. The place almost feels like small market you’d find in manhattan.

Cute little dinner in the lower aves. Very nostalgic place— giving very homespun diner vibes. The service here is great! I didn’t catch her name but the shorter blonde woman who was both cooking and running the register was very sweet and really patient despite being very busy. The food is what you expect— the breakfast plate is pretty standard/ nothing super special but reasonable priced in comparison to other places. The cinnamon rolls, though? To die for! I was apprehensive because of the way they looked at first but they were so good I had to order more to go! Will be back.

Coffee shop
Taco restaurant
Nestled in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, La Barba Coffee and Breakfast Tacos is a delightful gem that goes beyond your average coffee shop. This spacious café not only serves expertly roasted coffee but also boasts an impressive menu of made-from-scratch breakfast tacos. Each taco features heavenly flour tortillas and vibrant house-made salsas that elevate your morning meal to new heights.
Super fun coffee shop! Cortado is great if you’re looking for a dark, creamy option. And of course, you’ve got to grab a breakfast taco while you’re here!! They make all the tortillas in house, right in front of you! Another cool thing I like about this place is the HR menu - it’s simple, easy to read, not too overwhelming, and they even list all of their vendors (which are all small, local businesses). Very spacious inside with fun music, colors, and vibes.
Kymble J — Google review
Decided to visit based off of the combination of breakfast tacos and coffee. Have heard good things and was expecting something a little more after arriving. There are a lot of customers and it seems that the business has a hard time keeping up with the pace. I waited about 15 minutes for two burritos and a coffee. I was aware I would have to wait and was fine with it but realized after watching that there aren't enough people to keep up with the demand this place has and that the kitchen set up might actually be hindering their back of house operations. The taco (which isn't a taco - it's a burrito) was mediocre and taste essentially like an egg bacon burrito I could make at home with perhaps a little more flavor. The latte I had was not satisfying to me as a pretty frequent coffee drinker. It was weak and watery. I also might not have heard them call my number or something as my coffee was barely warm. The environment is the opposite of what the name would indicate as it is a sterile and modern museum like space that is not comfortable or very inviting. This place based off of the name to me should have more elements that might make a person feel at home. Not a terrible experience just not something I will be going out of my way to experience again. The price of my visit also...wasn't great for what I got.

Breakfast tacos are great. The tortillas are awesome. they have great taste. The bacon was good and the salsas had great flavor. I wish the potatoes had more of a crisp to them. Good service. Plenty of seating. Parking sucks

I was looking for a great breakfast taco and was not disappointed! La Barba is owned by a Texas transplant so you know the tacos will be legit. Great tortillas, fabulous salsa verde, and the red salsa was roasted with a hint of lime. We had a collection of different breakfast tacos that were all fantastic.
Amy Z — Google review
Enjoyed a cortado and an egg, potato, chorizo taco. You can watch them make the tortillas in the kitchen. Food is made to order, so be prepared to wait for food when it's busy (20 min). Not a fast grab and go place, but if you have some time I highly recommend it! There's plenty of parking in the back and it's a really cute area to walk around!
Beka S — Google review
I have been coming here twice a month for the past 3 years. I am still ordering two chorizo tacos and cortado because it’s been amazing every time. The tortillas are hand made every day and really are the perfect thing to grab before skiing/biking/Utah adventuring. The cortado is perfectly creamy and the espresso is just the right flavor. Also, there is amazing bike parking! 10/10 for a local spot.
Molly M — Google review
Wonderful drip coffee. It’s very rare to encounter a coffee shop offering a geisha as their standard drip. When I smelled the coffee, I was thinking…wow, these guys are using a naturally processed coffee… when we asked, I was surprised… a Colombian Geisha!
Chad W — Google review
Unreal. I have really gotten into coffee the last year and since finding La Barba, I refuse to drink anything else. I use the standard espresso at home, and it is perfection every time. It’s sharp, it’s dark, and the flavor is smooth. Other coffees I found myself always needing to add other flavors, with this, it’s a dash of creamer and I’m good to go. They care about your experience with coffee as much as they do in making it.
