Located near the Heavenly ski area, Driftwood Cafe is a popular family-friendly eatery offering a diverse menu for breakfast and lunch. The cafe serves locally roasted coffee, homemade soups, and generous portions of homestyle breakfast items such as buttermilk pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Burritos and Sandwiches.
I enjoyed this place. Not too long of await for breakfast on a busy holiday weekend. Plenty of seating indoor and out. Rosaria, our waitress was nice. Got the veggie burrito no eggs and French toast full stack with blueberries. Both were filing and tasty. Nice higher end diner style place.

Stopped by for lunch. One of the more affordable options in the area. The club sandwich was tasty and filling and I liked their options for choice of side. Outdoor area was dog friendly and the wait staff brought over water for the doggy too. Want to come back and try the breakfast options next time

Great vibe. Classic American breakfast with a lot of style. Simple, affordable and with overall good food. I loved the mocha and eggs Benedict combo. My wife didn’t like French toast that much, more like dry bread and just a bit with sugar. Not the best. But overall, great experience and strongly recommend the eggs Benedict. Parking lot across the street. We arrived relatively early on a Sunday (8am), no waiting time. Good service.

Today myself and my family visited Driftwood Cafe after hearing so many great recommendations, and overall, it was a good experience worth trying out. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly, even during a busy brunch rush. My wife and kids ordered the steak and eggs, and the steak was cooked beautifully and seasoned just right. The eggs were fluffy and tasty. I ordered the French toast, which was thick, soft, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overly rich. I were especially curious about a the meal called “Ugly Potatoes,” since everyone seems to rave about them. Unfortunately, they were a bit of a letdown for me — they tasted slightly bland and could have used more seasoning or some sort of sauce to bring them to life. The biggest issue was the wait time. We ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes for our food, which felt extremely long, especially for brunch. However, once everything arrived, the flavors (aside from the potatoes) were satisfying enough that we still left happy. Despite the minor hiccups, I’d still highly recommend coming here, especially if you’re craving a solid brunch spot with delicious steak and eggs or indulgent French toast. Just make sure you’re prepared for a bit of a wait! Almost forgot loved the Dirty Chai

Had a fantastic breakfast at Driftwood Cafe in South Lake Tahoe! The food was absolutely delicious, and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality of the food and the friendly, efficient service made it worth it. The cozy atmosphere and mountain-town charm added to the overall great experience. If you're looking for a solid breakfast spot in South Lake Tahoe, Driftwood Cafe is definitely worth a visit!
Devanshu P — Google review
We visited Driftwood Cafe in mid-late July and had breakfast on a weekday morning. It was not crowded. The 3-egg omelet was great, the waffle with bacon was delicious, coffee was great. Service was great, atmosphere was nice. Price was on the high side but expected given the tourist location. I definitely recommend having breakfast here if you're vacationing in Lake Tahoe.
W N — Google review
I visited this brunch spot in the morning. They offer both classic American breakfast dishes and some Mexican-inspired options, which I really liked. Overall, it was a good experience, but I ordered the biscuit and gravy, and unfortunately both biscuits had completely burnt bottoms. I could only eat the fluffy tops, the rest was not edible. On the bright side, the service was excellent—very quick and friendly even though the place was busy at peak time. I understand mistakes can happen when it’s crowded, but two big burnt biscuits were hard to tolerate. Still, I think the food has great potential because the flavors were good, and if not burnt, this dish would have been delicious. I’ll give it 3 stars. I’d still recommend the restaurant, just hoping my experience was a one-off.
FENGYAN Z — Google review
The restaurant is small and often very busy. I advise to make a reservation in advance. Otherwise, expect to wait over 30 minutes. The portions are large, enough for one person or even to share. The food tasted alright and the hot chocolate was delicious.

Grill
Riva Grill On the Lake is a restaurant located at Ski Run Marina, offering American cuisine and rum drinks with stunning views of the lake. The interior is inspired by Riva boats, featuring mahogany decor. The restaurant's name and design are influenced by wooden Riva runabout boats found in Tahoe's waters. Guests can enjoy the famous Wet Woody cocktail, a frozen rum drink made with cranberry, orange, and pineapple juices.
Riva Grill is exactly what you’d expect—an unbeatable lakeside location with stunning Tahoe views. The food was average, nothing particularly memorable, but the extensive list of boat-themed tropical cocktails makes it a fun stop. Perfect for drinks and scenery, just don’t go expecting a standout dining experience.

I like the food and the vibe here. Perfect water views on the deck. Some of the food we got was very good 10/10, highly recommend the tuna poke and the fish tacos. Fish tacos come with perfectly seasoned and grilled fish. The pizzas we got the kids cheese and the Rivas pizza were both meh. I didn’t even wanna take leftovers home. The fish and chips were fine, your basic usual nothing wrong with it. The Thai chicken wrap was not good but what else do you except ordering fake Thai food at a non Thai restaurant. I did overall like this place
Shiva N — Google review
One of my favorite places to come eat and enjoy the view of the lake. Love the large bar area where you can just walk in 1st come 1st served and the fire place with live music occasionally throughout the year. I love coming for fish taco Fridays in the winter where they do a raffle every hour when you buy a drink or fish taco around 6-9ish. They post events on insta and online. I love their food and especially the deviled eggs, pomegranate ribs, soups, salads with salmon added, bacon burger, and salmon plates. I always bring anyone visiting me here for the ambience and service. Reservation recommended during peak season.

The poke bowl was absolutely incredible—I could eat two of them! Honestly, the best poke bowl I’ve ever had. The garlic bread was also amazing. Fish and fries weren’t really my favorite, but the burger was delicious and everything was super fresh. Definitely recommend!

Awesome atmosphere for any size group! Food was spectacular and very tasty! Attention to detail is a great bonus for this top notch restaurant! We had the zucchini and crab cakes and ribeye. It was all perfect after a sunset cruise!

Very good spot with nice food. The price is good for the portion and ambience. There are heaters so you won't feel cold. The server kept checking on us frequently, refilling our soda and water 😃 I will come back!

I was genuinely looking forward to dining at Riva, given its strong reviews and reputation for stunning views. While the scenery certainly lived up to expectations, the food unfortunately did not. My friend and I ordered the coconut shrimp, halibut, and prime rib. Each dish was underwhelming and lacked depth of flavor. The coconut shrimp had seasoning only in the batter, leaving the shrimp itself bland. The halibut tasted as though it had been previously frozen and offered no detectable saffron flavor as described. The prime rib was overcooked, dry, and relied heavily on a salty au jus for any taste. The quality of the meat did not appear to match the standards expected at this price point—certainly not prime, and possibly not even choice grade. Regrettably, I won’t be returning. For the cost, I could enjoy a more flavorful meal from a fast casual restaurant while still taking in the beautiful views from one of Lake Tahoe’s many public beaches. I would strongly recommend the kitchen taste and assess each dish before service to ensure it meets the expectations set by the venue’s reputation.

The Red Hut Café is a beloved local diner chain with two locations in South Lake Tahoe. The original location, which has been a Tahoe tradition for 53 years, offers a retro vibe and is known for its popular breakfasts and lunches.
What a find ... Even though everyone else has known about it for 50 years! 🤣 Had a great brisk walk here from the Golden Nugget - will probably have to STROLL back after this generous meal. Great ambience, bright with big windows with a view of the mountains and marina. No wait on a July Monday morning at 8:30.
Erin W — Google review
During our four day stay in South Lake Tahoe, we visited two different Red Hut locations. This was the first we went to, and I have to say the service was very good. Everyone was friendly, our server was on top of our drinks and any requests we made. Food came out lightning quick despite a mostly full dining room. Food quality was good, and the price was fair. We weren't rushed at all by the server, but from checking in with the host to eating, paying and leaving, the whole process took like 40 minutes. Super efficient and appreciated. I'll say of the two locations we went to, this one was nice in that just beyond the windows you could see the lake and marina. I obviously would come back, I mean two days after eating here we ate at another of their locations.
Matthew R — Google review
The wait is long but for good reason. The older Host is so fun when she calls out the waiting patrons. Once sat we were warmly greeted. Food came out quick. The biscuit and gravy is heavenly, the country fried steak was delicious, the pancakes were good just too much of a flour taste . Overall the food tastes really fresh. I would definitely come back if I’m in town.
Cindy — Google review
We went here for breakfast and already had a long line before our side. Luckily upon having the counter bar side available, we took that side so that we don’t have to wait for another long time. Eggs Benedict 19.50 Omelette with Ham and Cheese 18.00 Coffee 6. 50 Overall with Tips $57.41 We thought the host of the cafe was attentive and friendly alongside Francis - she’s a very warm, attentive, and loving lady who also recommended us to try their special Eggs Benedict. The Waitress took our order for us starting with coffee, Eggs Benedict, and Omelette with Ham and Cheese. Each meal served with hash browns, and mine came with an English muffin too. We waited probably around 10-12mins, the Eggs Benedict came a bit later but not that much different from a wait. What we loved about their breakfast, both weren’t too overpowering with flavours. And that we can simply add condiments when we want to. The only downside was the coffee no kick of strong, bold and good flavour and aroma from the coffee - we felt just drinking flavoured drink. Also the ambience which can be a bit noisy around, especially, we came during the peak hours. We want to give compliments to the staff, the cooks, and the overall service. We’re very pleased with the food. And special mention to Francis, her enthusiasm and energetic presence added value to the Red Hut Cafe. Happy to come back and recommend 🤗

Great food and wonderful service. Everyone we encountered was friendly and went over and beyond to be helpful. The food was good- we had omelettes, handiness hash browns, and toast. Delicious. Highly recommend. Sorry for the photo of the half eaten breakfast. I was hungry I guess!
Sacha O — Google review
Ordered bacon and cheese omelette. Bacon was really delicious, crispy and crunchy. The vibe of the place is of a breakfast place with families and friends buzzing around. Everyone seemed happy. My measure for a good place. Of course the lake views from certain tables are a plus.

Flew in from Las Vegas to Reno with Lake Tahoe as my destination and when I arrived at my resort I asked the locals what do they recommend to go for breakfast. I was immediately told The Red Hut Cafe. The following morning my family and I walked across the street to The Red Hut and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, the service was excellent and the food was beyond words 🤤. I am definitely recommending this place to anyone who comes to South Lake Tahoe. I ordered the house special the Country Scram 😋 my kid had the strawberry banana pancakes and my wife had the waffle plate we were impressed. Try there food out you’ll love it .

Artemis Lakefront Café is a charming Mediterranean restaurant that offers outdoor seating and an espresso bar. It's a great spot to enjoy beer, wine, and cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere. The café is known for its casual vibe and is perfect for various occasions, from a quick happy hour drink at the Boathouse on the Pier to a cozy romantic dinner at Cafe Fiore or Evans American Gourmet Cafe.
Beautiful cafe. Loved the lamb breakfast gyro with fruits on the side. Greek Breakfast is another tasty and filling option. Tried Turkish Coffee for the first time, fun experiment! Hazelnut latte was the right amount of sweet. Enjoyed the lake view.
Sam W — Google review
There were a few places to choose from in the area but we went with Artemis Lakefront Cafe. We ordered the fish and chips, calamari, tofu wrap, and their house burger. Everything was delish. My favorite was the fish and chips. The seasoning on the fish was really good and it was super crispy. The ambiance is definitely breathtaking, lakefront view for sure. The weather was nice enough to sit outside. The service was ok. Our server was nice but it took home awhile to refill our water glass and to bring the bill. But I’d come back here again for their fish and chips.
Jemellee M — Google review
I want to start by saying the food at this restaurant was genuinely delicious — beautifully presented and full of flavor and waitress was great. The kitchen clearly takes pride in what they do, and for that, I give full credit. However, the overall experience was overshadowed by a very troubling incident. During our visit, another customer made a remark while standing before the outside fireplace in chilly outside area before and after eating. We brought it to Manager’s attention and stead of addressing the situation appropriately, the staff/manager remained passive and made comments that further encouraged bad atmosphere and the response lacked the empathy or seriousness the moment deserved. We will not be coming back and will not recommend this place.
Anju K — Google review
Despite the positive online reviews, my experience at your restaurant fell short of expectations. While we were promptly seated outdoors and initially attended to without delay, the service quickly deteriorated. We ordered the fish sandwich, breakfast omelette, and fish & chips. Though the food was decent, it hardly lived up to the hype. Once the meals were served, the attention to our table seemed to vanish entirely. We had to call the waiter multiple times - just to request water and coffee. It wasn’t a matter of being understaffed; the waiter was visibly engaged in casual conversations with other staff. One standout was a courteous staff member who checked in on guests to ensure a positive experience. Upon expressing our disappointment, she responded professionally and resolved the issue, which we appreciated. However, it’s worth noting that customers are required to pay at least $16 for parking before even walking through the door. For that added cost, such inattentive service is frankly unacceptable.
A S — Google review
Stopped here for lunch before our boat tour in Lake Tahoe. Cool lil spot on the lake. My wife had the wings, I had the chicken gyro and we split the ceasar salad. Note: the wings were in a buffalo sauce. Didn't really get that from the description. The service was pretty quick and the food was tasty. Traditional Mediterranean flavors. The staff was helpful. The views were great. They have an outside bar as well. Give it a try if you're near the lake.
Darryl L — Google review
Edward was great! We came on a busy Saturday mid morning. Tina pits and chicken pita were excellent. Location is great to the marina and the beach. Excellent place to people watch. Also a great place to wash away gambling blues. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere.

Artemis Lakefront Cafe delivered for my last lunch. My lamb gyro and fries were delicious. I like their special sauce for the fries. Also, save room for baklava because it was quite tasty. Thanks Maria for the great recommendations.
Jake H — Google review
Okay if you compare it with “American food”, not even in the same ballpark if you’re comparing it to Greek food 🇬🇷. One thing they do really good is seasoning their fries 🍟. Pleasant outdoor seating with the fireplace, but a buzzkiller if you’re asked to leave more than 1 hour before their (googlemaps) closingtime.

Ernie's Coffee Shop is a charming cabin-like establishment in South Lake Tahoe that has been serving locals and visitors since 1968. This family-run diner offers a diverse menu featuring traditional breakfast and lunch dishes, as well as gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. The portions are generous, with pancakes that are larger than life and plates filled with classic fixings. In addition to their delicious food, Ernie's prides itself on its friendly service and warm atmosphere.
Was recommended this place by a local when I asked for the best cafe for breakfast with gluten free options. I was so stoked to be able to FINALLY have French toast again because they have the gluten free option. Their menu was very diverse with an amazing selection. Bathroom was clean and all of the staff were exceptionally welcoming. I 10 out of 10 recommend this place. Especially if you have a gluten intolerance. They even had vegan options as well. Can’t wait to come back!
Katherine S — Google review
Went for breakfast with family. There was a 10 minute wait. I got the chicken fried steak which was pretty good. The house potatoes lacked salt for my taste. I got the biscuit instead of bread and its texture was like a cake than the flaky. We also got a single pancake which was nice. My wife got the Tahoe scramble which was cheesy and nice. Overall a nice place with fast service and ample parking right outside.
Binit B — Google review
The diner is cute. They boast a special roasted coffee that is specially blended for them by a local coffee shop. It was OK. Nothing special. The same could be said for their food. It was basic and bland. Reminded me of food I can make at home. The Belgian waffle was probably the best thing I had but the syrup could have been better. As a visitor to the area I was looking for a memorable dining experience. This place missed the mark.

I have been in the restaurant industry for 10 years and can’t tell you how impressive Ernie’s is. We sat at the bar and the kitchen and counter area were so clean. The stainless steel was spotless and everything had its place because every team member knew exactly what to do. Their team was amazing and worked so well together. I don’t think we ever saw them stop moving. The food was amazing as well. Classic breakfast options that were executed perfectly with quick service. If we visit Tahoe again, we will be back!

Ernie’s is a solid restaurant! It’s one of my fav spots for meeting up w friends for brunch😊. As a South Lake local of 12 years, I always appreciate a consistent restaurant- they deliver on delicious food (I often get the Judy’s Veggie Omelete pictured here). The owner is an awesome human. And the staff is very responsive. I’d highly recommend! I also really like their oat chai.. yum!😋

Let me tell you something....this was our last breakfast spot in Lake Tahoe for a trip and it was the best brunch by far. The brunch burger had me speechless with how juicy and delicious it was and the egg was the perfect touch. Hot apple cider was warm and cozy. My husband's loco Moco was great as well. Yummy filling food, great vibes and service. Would definitely eat here again the next time we visit Tahoe.
M P — Google review
This breakfast spot offers an impressive selection of options, but it tends to be quite crowded. If you’re planning a large party, be prepared for a wait of 15 to 30 minutes for a table. However, if you’re dining for two, you’ll likely be seated much faster. The service was prompt and friendly, making it a highly recommended choice.

Heaven's Little Café is a quaint and welcoming coffee shop situated in the heart of South Lake Tahoe's Heavenly Village. The cafe serves up delicious sandwiches, scrambles and other morning treats in a rustic setting.
I’ve been here a couple of times. Obviously the food is good because we keep coming back :). Their burritos are huge and very stuffed and fairly priced. Actually really great price for the size of the burrito. Also, they have a whole vegetarian option section, two thumbs up for that. Service is always fast. You order at the counter and find your place to sit and pick up when ready. Note: The tram/gondola is right outside near the cafe just incase.

Simple small café with good food. The food was very good and made at the moment. Eating area is small, apparently focus on to go orders. Staff is friendly. In my opinion the price was high for the place and food, but take in consideration the location (tourist). For breakfast or a snack is recommended.
Mike R — Google review
I had an English Toffee Latte, Strawberry Banana Smoothie and a chicken wrap. It was delicious. Highly recommended! Went here again the next day and got a super burrito with carne asada and my husband got a breakfast plate. 10/10 also got an iced caramel latte and strawberry banana smoothie.

Heavens little Cafe is a small cafe that is really busy no matter what day of the week it is. They have a large menu to order from and really yummy pastries and coffee selections. I ordered a vanilla latte everyday I was there and the flavor was perfectly balanced. My fiancé ordered the berry smoothie which was one of the best smoothies I’ve ever had. Over the course of a few days we stopped in to get a snack. Only downside is when you sit outside there are A LOT of flies swarming around you so it gets annoying to sit out and be disturbed while you’re trying to sit and relax, let alone eat.
Lindsey G — Google review
Did breakfast take out. I got the sausage with croissant and my wife got the bagel with ham breakfast sandwiches. I liked mine better to be honest. I also picked up a single pancake for my daughter. The pancake was pretty good and fluffy. Overall the food tasted well and service was good.

Good food and service! I just didn’t like my coffee. It wasn’t that strong 🥲(heavy coffee drinker here)
Karyle — Google review
I ordered an iced latte and was shocked at the preparation. The barista pulled the espresso shot directly into a plastic cup. Any trained barista knows hot espresso should go into a shot glass or pitcher first—never plastic. Not only does it affect flavor and crema, but it’s also just bad practice. This isn’t about being picky; it’s about basic standards for making coffee.

I wish I would’ve taken a pic of our super chicken burrito 🌯 it was on point my partner & I loved it soooo much !!! From the great Service to the atmosphere I highly recommend this place to everyone . The store features an impressive selection of over 600 different wines from smaller, lesser-known producers as well as familiar labels. Additionally, they carry specialty beers and champagnes from various countries.
This place is a rare gem. Fantastic deli, cheeses, and wines you won't find at BevMo or the grocery store. Great prices also. Make sure to do a tasting and get a cheese plate. Wow! Ask for Luke. He hasn't sold us a bad wine yet. Everything he has recommended has been very good to excellent. Did I mention the cheese plate?

For our day boat trip on Lake Tahoe, Karla and team catered and delivered our food. Everything was delicious, and the outstanding potato salad was so mouth-watering that all 16 in our party wanted to know the recipe! Delivery to our boat operator, Lake Tahoe Boat Rides in the Tahoe Keys marina was seamless. We have to thank Lake Tahoe Boat Rides for recommending The Cork and More to cater our trip. What an exceptional experience!

This was a pleasant find after riding bikes from the state line to Camp Richardson and back. We saw a sign for a deli from the street and what we found was a delight. Great atmosphere, good sandwich selection and a nice outside garden to enjoy eating. We ordered two specials: The yam press wrap and the Caprese. Both were done well and refreshing to have on a hot day. Would highly recommend and will be back next time in south lake.

Great sandwich. Probably a good idea to call in your order because the wait was long. The employee with the curly hair was great. She was friendly and explained nicely how the setup works with the coronavirus safety rules and she was working the whole time we were there.

What a gem! Great sandwiches and sides, and you can buy a bottle of wine to drink there while you eat. All the the staff members were so nice and they guy that made my sandwich knew I was trying to order vegan and immediately jumped on getting some yummy mustard added to my veggie sando. All over great shop!

All my fellow PCT hikers that inevitably end up at the post office next-door, check this place out. I wandered in here looking for a wrench to fix my trekking pole and they actually gave me one. After unsuccessfully wrenching on my trekking pole for an hour while eating delicious deli sandwiches and satisfying my sweet tooth (peanut butter cookies were my favorite) They thought of a specific bike shop that may have the tools I needed and somebody dropped me off there where I successfully fixed my poles! 10/10 experience, thank you guys

Great shop to buy wine, coffee, coffee beans, gifts and wonderful deli selections. My wife and I purchased hot pastrami sandwiches today, and they were awesome. Don't expect sandwiches to be ready instantly, but do expect quality food and friendly service.

**Review of the Speakeasy in South Lake Tahoe** Having visited many speakeasies around the world, I was excited to check out the first speakeasy in South Lake Tahoe, and it didn’t disappoint! The place is small but charming, with a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. One of the highlights of my visit was the live music, which added a vibrant energy to the space. It’s the perfect backdrop for enjoying a night out. The cocktails were impressive; each drink was crafted with care and creativity, showcasing a thoughtful selection of ingredients. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow during my visit. Overall, I highly recommend this speakeasy for its unique ambiance, great live music, and fantastic cocktails.

Brunch was VERY expensive. We paid $55 for 2 bagels, no drinks, no sides, just 2 bagels sandwiches. There are plenty of places nearby for much, much cheaper for a breakfast sandwich. The bagels themselves were fine, they were under-seasoned and dry because they had no sauce at all. You’d probably find better at any old bagel shop. Do not recommend brunch at all.
Kaylin R — Google review
Outdoor seating was very nice to have lunch, waitress was very friendly and shared points of interest. The food came out after a short wait. The burgers were cooked to perfection. Dont skip the fries and salad was large for a side item. Good spot to have a meal

***Worst Rueben sandwich I’ve ever eaten in 40 years. I’ve been here multiple times. Their burgers are good and their fried chicken and fries are normal bar fare. Outside patio is nice and the vibe is great. Sometime they have live music adding to the ambience Service is a solid 3. Surprised how bad the Reuben sandwich was. Seeing how people who like Reubens are used to a baseline standard. Not even sure if this reached a Dennys standard. If you like Reubens do not order here. Cole slaw is old and flavorless. Tap house down the street is better for overall bar food. But the the location and burgers make it acceptable.

Food wasn’t that good compared to their prices, my food was cold salty and had way too much mustard but the margarita was good overall, servers were okay she had an additude

Regular pub and sandwich restaurant in the front, but the 20 person Speakeasy through the cold freezer is exceptional with live music and total hipster vibe - special custom cocktail 🍸 menu with about 20 options (see menu pictures) and a $10 cover is added to your bill. It's totally worth it, underground, and apparently very difficult to get into. Filled with beautiful people, art, and a visually captivating light up bar. The staff and bar tenders were very friendly and loved their jobs. 11/10 just exceptional and a unique experience in the heart of South Lake Tahoe that's totally off the map, unassuming, and hidden. Just loved this!!! 😍 Thank you sweethearts 🙏🍸

Tahoe Keys Deli has been a popular destination for 21 years, known as the top deli sandwich shop in South Lake Tahoe. Recently under new ownership by Luke, this established eatery has experienced a revitalization. The menu now features exciting additions like sandwich, chips, and soda combos. Visitors can expect an exceptional dining experience at this local favorite. The pastrami is especially noteworthy and arguably the best sandwich in all of Tahoe.
Awesome deli. This visit I had the roast beef sub. It was delicious. Service was friendly and quick.

This place has gone down hill. Went and got a chipotle club that was the special of the day - drove home and they legit put half piece of turkey on the sandwich. For $20 I drove back for my money back. Her excuse was 2 people making the sandwich they forgot. No there was one person making the sandwich and that was u. I hadn’t gone in years and won’t go back. When I first walked in she didn’t even say hi or how can I help you. Just looked at me. I’ll make a lettuce sandwich at home haha. Horrible service and food. In response to the owners response - literally u had no customers so u were not busy at all. You didn’t even toast the bread like the sandwich description says. Lazy and horrible shop

Do you value friendly service, delicious food, and supporting a local business? Then TK Deli is your place! Fantastic people and a great value. And who doesn’t love a a local business who decorates for the holidays? I have been getting sandwiches at TK Deli since they opened, and the ‘new and improved TKD’ is hands down the BEST. I read some of the negative reviews and asked myself, “did we get sandwiches at the same place?” I LOVE this awesome sandwich shop, and you will too!!
Georgianna S — Google review
No greeting when we arrived while I searched for a menu at the counter. Soda fountain was out of order when we asked about combo and no explanation for it other than gesturing at the sign while we tried to figure out if that meant we get no combo or a substitute and after we ordered a Gatorade were told can drinks could substitute. Didn’t get a pickle per the menu. Sandwich was just okay. I like to support small businesses when we can but this is not a go-back place.

Being from NY I’m always looking for a good East Coast style Deli and this is Tahoe’s! Classic deli sandwiches how you like it. Grab a local special or create your own, either way it’s exactly what you’ve been looking for!
Topher L — Google review
This place has gone downhill. It is not how the previous owners used to run it. Ordered two large veggie sandwiches and the bread seems to be old and stale. The overall quality of the sandwiches is crap and not worth the money. You are better off going to Safeway or Raley's deli for a decent sandwiche!
Arvin R — Google review
I’ve been going here since I was a child and always loved the food while supporting a local business too. But last time I came in I reversed into a spot in the parking lot and didn’t think much of it and ordered my sandwich. The worker hands me my sandwich then scolds me for reverse parking in saying to never do it again. The worker was extremely rude about it as for just a parking situation. She gave me a poor explanation to why it’s so rude to do and reminded me to never do it again. I’m not sure why the worker was so upset and I don’t understand why the situation couldn’t have been handled in a calmer manner.

Everything was really good. Loved the peach buratta salad , sorry no pics finished it in seconds. The veggie bowl ,everything was so good , Sour cauliflower and baked Brussels, rice cooked to perfection. Salmon was a tad bit over cooked but orzo and asparagus so good.

Delicious food, big portions. Fast service. Great outdoor seating. ❗️The only remark I want to make-we were watching the cooks make our food, and they were not wearing gloves, that’s very bad and needs attention immediately❗️

Hands down the best Old Fashioned I've had. Bartender knew what he was doing. We had the potato skins and brie on crostini sides. Delicious!
Amy — Google review
Went here for a quick lunch bite and a drink. It was a Saturday afternoon but it was not quite that busy. The hostess and a few of the waitress were rude and were rushing through the services and pushing people in and out as fast as possible. The 2 bartenders were great and helpful. This place would rate higher if it were not for their ride wait staff. The BBQ shrimp we had were good and the drinks we ordered were as well, we chose not to stay longer because of the service we received. Maybe another time-point will have better service.

Great food I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. The jalapeno pineapple slaw on it was great. I also tried the mac and cheese with bacon. It was also really good. Fries were well seasoned with flakes of salt which is better than regular salt.
Timothy B — Google review
Very nice location, I've been there before, but our most recent visit was annoying. I brought a group to have dinner there and one of the guests ordered a glass of house Chardonnay. They came back and said they were out of the house Chardonnay and offered a different wine that was $4 more. First of all, they should have given us that glass for the same price and we would have been fine to have ordered additional glasses at full price. They did not. Then when they served the wine, it wasn't in a glass, it was in a little plastic cup. They said no glass was allowed on the patio, which doesn't make sense given several people were drinking bottled beer on the patio. I was really embarrassed given I was the local who recommended the restaurant and they gave this kind of service. We finished our drinks and had dinner elsewhere. I will never take out of town guests there again.

Whether you're craving a hearty breakfast or a satisfying burger or sandwich, Bert's Café has you covered.
This has got to be one of the best farm to table experience that I have been to. We got the breakfast burrito and the California omelette. They were almost the same thing, but the flavor was a little bit better with the burrito but you definitely got a little more food with the omelette.

The wait was listed as 30 minutes but ended up closer to an hour. I ordered the turkey breakfast burrito — it was a bit soggy and could’ve used more seasoning. The highlight was definitely the blueberry pancakes: fluffy, well-cooked, and full of flavor. Might be worth a stop if there’s zero wait and you’re really hungry, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Holy grail of the best grill in the area! Gotta make time to get this flavor of Tahoe! Jamie was the best server, we let her make suggestions and it was an awesome experience. Sugar Pine Bakery is a small but impressive bakery known for its delectable baked goods. The bakery offers a variety of treats including cookies, pies, macaroons, and custom cakes for special occasions like weddings. One of their standout items is the iconic cinnamon roll, made with flaky croissant dough and topped with cinnamon smear and cream cheese icing. Customers also praise the homemade pastries and desserts available at Sugar Pine Bakery.
We had a wedding cake made and it was perfect! Somehow our order was lost and they made our cake within an hour the day we came to pick it up. It was beautiful. Tasted delightful. Colors were incredibly perfect. The service was beyond impressive. Best special order experience I have ever had! Thank you Sugar Pine Bakery, for making our special day even more special!!!!

After reading several other reviews I was excitied to give the bakery a try. From what I gathered i shouldn't expect much from the atmosphere, but the quality from what I read was phenomenonal. We ended up ordering two types of muffins and it was 50/50. The blueberry muffin was flavorful, moist, and I'd recommend. However, the pumpkin muffin was dry, the only flavor present was vanilla, and laked any want to eat more than a few bites. With our two choices we ordered being good and not so great, it seems it's a 50/50 shot of liking what you order.

Emailed the bakery from the SF Bay Area a few weeks before the event and ordered a custom cake for my birthday weekend in South Lake Tahoe. They responded promptly as what their website says ( days minimum response time) and was able to confirm my order after a few days of back and forth with the design and flavor via email. I decided on a 6in round black and white cake with vanilla buttercream icing. Paid for it over the phone and picked it up an hour earlier than my pick up time (i called and asked if i can pick up earlier). It was sooo beautiful and delicious! We all loved it! Thank you Sugar Pine Bakery!!! You made me so happy!

From the moment you walk in, the cozy charm and sweet aroma wrap around you like a warm hug. Their pastries are next-level — flaky, buttery, and baked to perfection. I tried the almond croissant and nearly cried tears of joy. The cinnamon bun? A buttery cloud of heaven. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, even during busy hours. You can tell they care about every detail, from presentation to flavor. And the location? Perfect for grabbing a treat before heading to the lake or hitting the slopes. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop here. Sugar Pine Bakery isn’t just a bakery — it’s a Tahoe experience you’ll crave long after you leave.

Keys Café is a cozy and laid-back spot located in a small, yellow house on the South Shore. It offers a variety of breakfast options, sandwiches, smoothies, beer, and wine. The café has a fun and funky atmosphere with local art adorning the walls. Their menu features fresh, local ingredients such as eggs in omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos.
We had never been to Tahoe. Friends from Auburn treated us to a grand tour of the area. One of the best stops in two days was for brunch at the Keys Cafe. It is a little hard to find as it is off on a side street, but Google maps got us there. Although busy preparing drinks for her patrons, the owner (pictured) was gracious, patient, and accommodating. Substitutions and special requests were no big deal. We sat outside on a most pleasant "South Lake" morning - I understand they have their share of those there in mid-August. The Cafe's vibe is just what you would expect inside and out, the decor - the same. So what about the food? We had BLTs (on marbled rye), a Breakfast Sando, and (drumroll, please) the Blueberry Bowl. Since it is not practical to travel 2,100 miles for this delicacy on a daily basis, I asked for the recipe and that, too, was shared with a smile. What a fantastic place in a fantastic place!!!

One of the worst sandwiches i've ever had in my life! Who puts cream cheese on all the sandwiches? it's absolutely disgusting..... My friend ordered something called a shark bite.... And they almost puked in their mouth after eating it. I was so embarrassed after bringing my friends here. I will never ever come here again! I think the owner was actually there when I was buying my sandwich and he had the nerve to tell somebody to put extra cream cheese on their sandwich......gross.

This place is slow AF and has been for years. I've seen the staff drinking beer while making sandwiches before and today they all seemed high. Dont care if you have altered state as long as you can get the job done but it seemed like that wasn't the case here. Dragonfly Bagel Co. is a charming breakfast spot in South Lake Tahoe, offering a cozy and laid-back atmosphere with wooden furniture, a fireplace, and even board games for guests to enjoy. The menu features a simple selection of delicious bagels and breakfast sandwiches that are freshly made each day. This eatery stands out as one of the few places open before 8 am, making it an ideal choice for those looking to avoid long lines at other popular breakfast spots.
Amazing bagels here with very fast service. The lox of love bagels are a must especially on the jalapeño cheddar. Had a real chill ambiance with soft jazz style music. Well lit with natural lighting and great beers to top it all off! We'll definitely be coming back.
Michael K — Google review
Quaint little bagel shop that is pretty popular with the locals. The bagels were okay, just lacking the flavor I'm used to with NY bagels. A good place to grab and go.
T T — Google review
We came here for our breakfast and it was almost empty. We ordered the following: 1 × BREAKFAST BAGEL Sesame - cc on side 1 X ULTIMATE Plain 2 x Brewed Coffee 12 oz- DARK Total + Tips: $40.04 We thought the place was cozy and spacious. The coffee served was freshly brewed and in generous portions, full cup each. We’re very pleased not only with the strong aroma but the strength of the coffee flavour. Our bagels: both tasted good, came warm and fresh with great fillings. I wished that they had an Egg Bagel option to choose and somehow the density and how the bagels were made pretty different to our liking. Other than that, we’re satisfied. Decent waiting time and the staff's attentiveness.

Easily one of the best bagels I’ve had. The bagels are super fresh and the texture is doughy and delicious. Great selection of different toppings. Their cold brew was good. If they got an espresso machine and also offered a variety of coffee drinks along with their bagels it would make the place even better. We went twice back to back while on our trip to Heavenly. The guy who took our order the first time in the afternoon was a lot friendlier than the 7am crew the next morning but we were just happy to have another bagel bfast :)

Don’t tell everyone but damn this place is good. It’s never too packed and I’ve always had great service here. The bagels are top notch. I get extra cream cheese and they really understood the assignment.

Staff is so kind! The variety of bagels was really diverse, however, I thought the consistency and texture of the bagel itself was a little odd, but still tasty!

Leaving a one star review to warn the public that the gal who made our bagel this morning at approx 10:15 am on 8/17 is so rude & should have no contact with the public. I asked beforehand if the bagels were cut in half so we could share & were told they are. When I received my bagel it was not cut in half there was absolutely no knife cut. When I approached the counter the nice gal preparing the beverages took my bagel and sheepishly approached the bagel maker knowing I suspect, how the gal was going to react. The gal took my bagel & broke it down the middle with her hands! I watched her do it! It was all jaggedly. I told her I couldn’t believe she did that. She mumbled something under her breath. When I pressed further she said it was cut. I pointed out that it wouldn’t be all jagged if she had. I would have asked for my money back & walked out but the cashier was busy with other customers. This person obviously hates her job and should be fired immediately. What would have been the harm in taking a knife & cutting it in half? We will never return to this establishment and will hopefully save someone else from the headache of asking for a bagel to be cut in half!! Also, they don’t have any honey for the tea.

Awesome bagel. Very fresh and cream cheese was so good. I tried the breakfast bagel with jalapeño cheddar

Whole Foods Market is an environmentally conscious chain that offers a wide range of natural and organic grocery items, housewares, and other products. The store in South Lake Tahoe provides a daily cold and hot food buffet with fresh options for convenient meals. Customers appreciate the variety of vegan options, including entrees with fake meats, macaroni and cheese, rice dishes, and even vegan sushi.
Stopped here for lunch briefly when visiting South Tahoe. I actually had a very wholesome impression, definitely a smaller, and more down to Earth location. All of the employees seemed happy in their work. Honestly couldn’t blame them, such a beautiful town! Pine tree haven…

Well, I’ve finally hit my breaking point and will be shopping at other stores. What used to be the best grocery store in town, with the best selection, has now been destroyed beyond recognition by corporate greed. It’s been a slow death over the last year and what was once a vibrant store is now stale & basic, completely devoid of the unique healthy items that made it worth shopping there to begin with. All the good specialty foods and products that Whole Foods was once known for, where you could only find them at Whole Foods and never at Safeway, Costco, Grocery Outlet - have slowly been pulled from the shelves one by one week over week to be replaced by corporate lesser thans all owned by the same big companies and the 365 brand. At the same time, it’s now much easier to find the good organic produce, health foods and specialty products at Safeway, Holiday Market, Grocery Outlet, Grass Roots and Costco —- and for a much lower price. 90% of the shelves are lined with the 365 brand no one likes for the same premium price and there’s a fraction of the selection there used to be in all categories. The meat is weird. The poultry now seems to be repackaged frequently and maybe altered. We’ve gotten sick a few times. This also seems to be a common sentiment that “Whole Foods sucks now” and it’s true. It’s now a bad Kroger store but more expensive. Does anyone actually want this? The staff is unbelievably nice and helpful and friendly.

We stopped in to buy coffee and a few other things for the hotel room. Our checkout experience was delightful. We stood and chatted with Debby for several minutes. So nice to meet friendly people.
Rob T — Google review
I find their selection of deli items not so great , especially when compared to to Safeway. Things are om the pricier side without much quality to substantiate the price. Update 1/26/24 Their coffee is nice and it’s freshly brewed and they have a choice of dark roast, medium roast and decaf. They also have automated Amazon returns.
HB — Google review
Overpriced but lots of organic choices and better quality. Helps to have Prime Membership and Prime credit card for discounts. Staff are #1 helpfully and attentive. Whole Foods is not my most frequent spot for supplies but it is best to backfill and supplement but #1 for specialty foods.
Cathy W — Google review
I stopped to purchase some snacks and a beer to enjoy at the lake. The cashier declined the sale on the grounds that my license was out of state (by 1.4 miles!) and vertical. He stated that it was Whole Foods policy to not sell alcohol to people with out of state verticle licenses, though I have not found any confirmation of this on their website, or at any other Whole Foods in California. I am 23 years old and have never had my business turned away by anybody else for this reason. Avoid Whole Foods at all cost.
Victoria M — Google review
Great foods. I just can't afford the costs so I shop at other stores. Was there in parking lot to meet my friend to go hiking Can you believe Amazon owns them now. I have Amazon prime so maybe that makes it more affordable? Maybe I should try it out

Safeway is a well-established supermarket chain offering a wide range of brand-name and own-label groceries, along with additional amenities such as a deli and bakery. The store on Johnson Lane provides convenient access to fresh sandwiches, subs, and pharmaceutical services. Customers appreciate the friendly staff, spacious layout, and availability of management for assistance. The store's various departments work cohesively to provide guidance and support to shoppers.
Liked this Safeway. Building looks nice, well organized aisles, good produce, plenty of departments to get your grocery items, well stocked, and convenient from the town. Their in-store made stuff at the front of the store made by Boar’s Head looked great as well. Worth a stop for groceries!
Nikolai M — Google review
I like to shop at Safeway, and the one in South Lake Tahoe is no exception. It is only a few blocks from the campground where I usually camp. The store is very easy to navigate, and most of the items I'm looking for are in stock. The workers are friendly, and they have a huge parking lot so that I can easily park my truck.
Michael W — Google review
Only place I can go buy a pink pineapple at 1 am, oh plus the bathrooms here are clean and open 24/7. Helps when your traveling, it's an all in one pit stop. There's Groceries, Gas, Bathrooms and Food to stock up on, premade and fresh.
Ariane S — Google review
Ridiculous that neither Safeway in Lake Tahoe carries enough product for their Friday sale and they don't give rainchecks. Really poor customer service. I've been waiting days for ground beef sale and when I go to both stores they're out of stock. What a waste of my time and gas. Now I know why everyone I know recommends Whole Foods, Raleys or Grocery Outlet. Going to really reconsider where I spend my $400-$500 a month on groceries Update; Figured I'd try their Friday sale again and it was out of stock again. No $5 cheese cakes left, then checked another friday sale and their sticky buns were out of stock. So I've never gotten anything on the Friday sale. **Update, it's 6pm on Friday and I can't even talk to customer service because they're not around. One lady is actually in the office but refuses to help me. Poor poor customer service
John W — Google review
It sucked. Got to the area and we're going to stock up before checking in a hotel. Gathered a few items and headed to checkout. I had alcohol and could not go through self-checkout. There was only one checkout open with the line of at least 20 people. Completely ridiculous. Left my cart with its items in the aisle and went to a different store

We had a terrific experience with the deli at the Lake Tahoe Safeway. The two ladies who helped us were excellent. The sandwiches were delicious and their workmanship is undeniable. We will return during the Fall and we will visit the store and deli both. Thank you for a great experience.
Charles B — Google review
"Lake Tahoe's Safeway is open 24 hours, and I really enjoy going there in the evenings when it's nice and quiet. Tonight, though, was a different story. They were restocking shelves, and the first two aisles were completely blocked off by staff who didn't look too thrilled to see me. One even kicked his stool in annoyance as I tried to get by. Then, when I was at the self-checkout fixing a mistake on an item, the attendant, Jim, was pretty rude. I told him I needed to swap the item out, and he basically told me to hurry up because he was shutting down and didn't have time to wait. Not exactly the peaceful late-night trip I was hoping for!"
