Restaurant
Bistrot Paul Bert is a classic Parisian eatery that gained international fame after being featured on Anthony Bourdain's 'No Reservations.' The restaurant, run by chef Bertrand Auboyneau, offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with its exposed brick walls and poster art. The menu focuses on traditional beef dishes and seafood made from fresh seasonal ingredients.
Loved Paul Bert. We had a couple of the specials for starters, the carpaccio and the cervelle de canut, a white cheese topped with herbs and oil. Both were light and tasty. We also got the soft eggs and morels which I could easily have eaten 5 more portions of. We both got the steak (bavette cut) with frites in a sarawak pepper sauce, which lived up to the hype. We finished with seasonal strawberries in a raw cream, also amazing. We had a hard time getting a reservation but we eventually were able to reach someone over the phone. It has been mentioned ad nauseum everywhere to call 1hr before or after to reach a person, and that's what we did but it took us a lot of calls, over many days to get through. When we got someone, about a week out, they took down our info but when we showed up, there was no record of us. They were able to seat us without issue. I think if you show up right at opening, it should not be a problem getting a table. Other than the tough reservation, we loved everything and it's most certainly worth a visit in spite of the tourist hype.

I took my husband here for his birthday and he said it was the best birthday dinner he ever had. I was curious to see if it lived up to the hype and it actually did. Everything was fantastic, from the food to the service. We both had the steak and fries and it was an easy 10/10. For dessert we ordered the souffle and it was very unique but good as well, very light. Also important to note - we called at midday and got a reservation for that same night. When we arrived there were several persons who came as walk ins and they all got though and fairly quickly as well.

We came for one thing, steak au poivre. That's it. We'd heard it was maybe the best in Paris. It was, just fantastic. There is an old school ambiance to the place as well and the staff were friendly and attentive. I can't speak to the other items on the menu, but I regret not coming sooner for the steak. It was that good. The place is small, make a reservation if you can.
Christopher M — Google review
Bistrot Paul Bert serves my favorite steak au poivre—anywhere. A perfectly cooked, juicy, tender cut of beef with just the right amount of cracked pepper and that luscious, creamy sauce… I’m literally dreaming about it as I write this. I need to go back soon. Hubby ordered the steak tartare, which came with crispy fries and a simple green salad — classic, no-nonsense, and absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and efficient, the kind of old-school Parisian hospitality that’s warm without fuss. Now, fair warning: they don’t answer their phone, and getting a reservation can be tricky. But if you show up right when they open on a weekday, you might just snag a table — that’s what we did. It’s a little out of the way, but trust me, it’s worth every minute (and every euro of the taxi ride). Our total came to around USD 120, and the bill came with a couple of adorable little canelés on the house. A perfect Parisian meal from start to finish.

Exceptional meal, highly recommended and can’t wait to go back. Could drink the steak pepper sauce alone! Please let me know when your cook book becomes available in English! I’ll be the first to buy it. Thank you!

Beautiful little bistrot. We went for the fillet au sauce de poivre, the sauce was spectacular but we would have liked the fillet to be more tender. The tartar was spectacular with mustard and chopped onion The souffle with the grand marnier was tasty. The service was super friendly and the interior felt cozy and authentic.

I was expecting a amazing experience, the beef with pepper was but the rest was average. Getting a table at bistro Paul Bert is challenging and expectations was very high indeed. We started by the girolles and egg, it was nice but the one at the grand cafe at the grand palais is much nicer. Then we had the rabbit and confit tomatoes which was not amazing just nice. 👍 for the bread, pity that salted butter is not served with it. The 2 cheese gougères were nice but overcooked to my taste therefore quite dry. Then we had the star of the show the beef with pepper sauce and yes the sauce is incredible, absolutely delicious. The beef portion is not generous and the chips portion is not big either for 2. The whole main course is really yummy, very well balanced and executed. Then came the desserts and they were both disappointing. The soufflé tasted undercooked, I could not taste the grand marnier. It was a poor experience. We also had the îles flottantes : too sugary the egg whites were too dense, too packed and the crème pâtissière had far too much sugar. Although the starters and the main were served within 25 min of our arrival, we waited far too long to get our desserts ( please note that we ordered the soufflé with our main meal as we are aware that time is needed) and then we waited over 30 minutes and had to asked twice the invoice and decided to go and pay at the till as our waiter was not coming to our table. Overall, go to bistro Paul Bert to enjoy the beef with pepper sauce which is spectacular but skip starters and desserts, they are not worth your time or your money. Please note that we just had a meal at the grand cafe at the grand palais today and for the same price, the overall meal just can’t be compared (every dish was so tasty).

Make a reservation! We were in Paris for two weeks for my 40th birthday trip, and went to Paul Bert For lunch. It was a beautiful sunny day and we sat on the patio. A side note, the patio is Wheelchair accessible as my husband is in a wheelchair and requires a flat surface - Which is great considering a lot of the bistros in Paris are too small for wheelchairs. I would say that the steak au poivre is the best in Paris. The fries are also top two or three in Paris so make sure you get those as well Service was wonderful, and the server even gave us his own personal number if we wanted to come back again during our trip as it is hard to get reservations! Sidenote again– Make sure that you purchase some merchandise from them. We forgot to get a T-shirt and all the merchandise online is done through a third-party seller and way more expensive.

Le Relais de l'Entrecôte is a renowned steakhouse with three locations in Paris. Their winning formula includes a fresh green salad with vinaigrette, tender steak with their secret sauce, and crispy fries for a fixed price. When you order, they only ask how you like your steak cooked and what wine you prefer. The restaurant offers over 12 dessert options including profiteroles, cheese plate, Baba au Rhum, apple tart, sorbets and ice cream.
If I could give it 10 stars I would! Dont be phased by the long line outside, it moves very quickly and everyone deserves to try this special steak frites experience! We waited for 20 minutes and got sat down pretty quickly (as only two of us) at about 10pm. The waitress was brilliant, super nice, and the food came very quickly. As steak lovers, we ordered rare, and loved it! Imagine beef tartare quality with seared sides, highly recommend! We leave tomorrow morning, otherwise would totally come back for round two! MUST TRY THIS! Our waitress Nabila was the kindest! Made us feel so welcome, helped us choose our wine, never put pressure on us, and just all smiles! Best possible final dinner in Paris we could’ve asked for 🫶 can’t wait to return next time we are in Paris!
Crystal K — Google review
3.25 ⭐️ Set menu (€29), which keeps things simple: salad, steak, fries, and their signature sauce. Service was decent, and food came out efficiently. 🥩 The salad was heavily dressed, bordering on overpowering, but the fries were crisp and enjoyable. 🥩 Steak is offered only rare or medium—cooked well but quite lean, leaving it less indulgent than expected. The sauce, a peppery mustard blend, added flavor but wasn’t mind-blowing. Overall, worth trying but not a must-return.
An N — Google review
We arrived 30 minutes before their dinner opening on a Sunday and were the 20th in line. Fortunately, we made it into the first round of guests to be seated. Ordering is simple: they ask for your preferred level of doneness, then take drink and dessert orders. Drinks and bread arrived quickly, followed by our entrees of steak and fries. The green pepper sauce was delicious with the steak, but it also tasted great for soaking the fries. After we finished our steak and fries, they brought over a second serving. I enjoyed ending the meal with the crème brûlée. Service was quick as we were in and out in about an hour.

A well-known local place for the steak fries. I arrived 30' before closing time for lunch, and waited 15' to get a table so I can imagine it could be much longer during peak hour. The food was great, you get to refill the steak and fries as well (yes that's real!). The steak was not mind-blowing though, I would say just generally good steak. My waitress was very nice and friendly. The vibe of the restaurant is kind of cozy and un-assuming, which I like. Overall I think it is great value and you should try if it is your first time in Paris.
Ha V — Google review
We arrived at the restaurant at 6:05 PM, just five minutes after it opened, and there was already a long line. We waited for about 50 minutes before being seated. The service was very organized and efficient. The meat was very tender and the fries were delicious. However, the sauce was below my expectations. Overall, everything was tasty, but not extraordinary. It’s worth trying once, but I don’t think I would come back again.
Taner S — Google review
Way too touristy and crowded for me. I generally refuse to stand in line for a restaurant, but this was an enthusiastic recommendation from one of my best friends, so I decided to do it. And it was a very long line! Well worth the line as a tourist’s experience, but I wouldn’t keep coming back having so many other options in Paris. The steak was fine, just a bit chewy, not my favorite cut and no options to choose from. Their famous sauce is indeed delicious, though not so much to keep me coming back and enduring the line. The fries were fine, not awesome and again not my favorite choice with meat. The salad was very tasty and fresh. Serving the course in two rounds is a great idea. You get a generous serving and it’s always fresh on your plate. Given the huge number of people they serve, service was friendly and fast. I didn’t feel the pressure to free my table, though the thought of it lurked around. I decided to skip dessert, and the people on the table next to me (close enough to chat during the meal which turned out to be a good thing) joked that I wouldn’t miss much!
Guido Q — Google review
Couldn't ask for a more perfect Parisian experience. Actually loved the 20min wait at 13:00 on a Monday as Q kept moving by industrious staff. Brilliant atmosphere inside as all crammed in making a delicious cacophony of conversations. Quick service due to traditionally limited menu and hand written drink lists. Loved the salad starter and bread along with the very nice house red (a must for a Paris meal) and onto the pièce de résistance. Perfectly cooked blue steak with double fried frites (done in beef dripping if I'm not mistaken) with their secret butter based sauce. Puddings to die for (just shared the one) as stuffed after the double helping As I tried to say to our attentive staff - magnifique, merveilleux - which raised a 😊!! Recommended experience. 80euros/£70 for 2 - a true bargain.
Alan M — Google review
Went here for the 3 course traditional French meal and I’m so glad we did. We first started with a salad , followed by our mains which was the traditional beef cooked to your choice and served with the secret sauce. This was followed by various dessert options. We went for the Creme Brulee and the dark chocolate profiteroles. The waitress serving us was extremely pleasant and charming. Love the attire worn by the staff here.

Nestled in the charming La Villette neighborhood of Paris, Hôtel Restaurant Au Boeuf Couronné is a delightful blend of rustic elegance and culinary excellence. This establishment has been captivating meat enthusiasts since its inception in the 1930s, offering an impressive selection of premium beef sourced from various regions across France. The restaurant's inviting ambiance features plush crimson velvet seating and vintage decor that transports diners to a bygone era.
We stayed here for 4 nights during our visit to Paris. Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. There is a subway station very close by from which you can pretty much go anywhere. I provided some constructive feedback regarding the doors that were connecting the two rooms we booked and the feedback was very well received. Enjoy your stay in Paris!
Praveen M — Google review
Hotel was in okay part of France in terms of safety. There are definitely safer areas. But right next to metro so very convenient access but a bit far away from activities in the center of paris. Large room with air conditioning. Restaurant tasted good. Prices were solid for amount, and the set combos seemed like good deal. English menus available.

Such a fantastic place to stay! Beautiful, well-appointed room in a very convenient area. The room was very well sound-proofed and clearly had been very recently renovated. It was extremely comfortable. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and generous. The area was extremely convenient with Parc de la Villette and Parc des Buttes Charmont in walking distance and many tasty restaurants nearby, including the one attached to the hotel. Thank you!
Charlotte S — Google review
Very quiet and beautiful hotel in a less touristy area. Stayed there with two children for four nights and we all enjoyed it very much. The service was great, the breakfast was fantastic, and the metro connection right outside the door is excellent. We'd love to come back, it's a shame it's already over - mille mercis!
Leif W — Google review
Hotel was a good size, clean, and modern. Good value for money. The only downside is that it is about a 20+ minute metro ride to most of the tourist attractions. Saying that, the metro exit is right where the hotel is located, so it was very convenient!
Ryan C — Google review
Very pleasantly surprised at how great this hotel was. Very friendly reception staff, we were offered a complimentary upgrade to a superior room. The rooms are a good size, modern decor and great sized wetroom(bathroom). Fully functional air conditioning unit and comfortable bed. The hotel is situated literally outside the metro station Line 5. 10 mins from Gare de Nord. The location is on a busy road, however the windows completely cancelled out the noisy traffic outside. The area is more residential, however there are many restaurants, bars and convenience stores close by. Breakfast was a little basic with not a lot of selection, however it ok. The restaurant downstairs was excellent. Amazing food and wine which was reasonably priced. It was packed full of people the evening we visited. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again. 5 stars

Walked into an empty restaurant and the hostess tried to give us a table located between the kitchen entrance and the toilet. We asked for a different table and she got visibly angry. Appetizers were fine but their most expensive meats felt like rubber and were inedible.
Y. L — Google review
This is a very lovely place. It is indeed far from the usual tourist attractions (and the crowd), the hotel entrance is immediately next to a subway station. What I liked the most is the food and the authentic urban environment with real people, cool little shops and a great variety of eateries.

French restaurant
La Bourse et La Vie is an upscale bistro located near Bourse, offering classic French dishes like steak frites and pot-au-feu in a stylish and compact space. Run by American chef Daniel Rose, the restaurant presents a minimalist menu inspired by traditional bistro cuisine with fresh, seasonal ingredients and manageable portions. Guests are welcomed with a house-made gougere before indulging in expert interpretations of authentic local cuisine.
We were late for our reservation and they kindly worked us in to the seating rotation. The service was attentive and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the full experience of four appetizers. I learned that I love leeks. Go figure. The oysters in their delicious vinaigrette were the best I have ever eaten. This is not hyperbole. The main courses and desserts were sublime. La Bourse et La Vie should 100% be on your list of restaurants to try!
Grish240 — Google review
We really enjoyed our meal at La Bourse. Very popular for a reason. The thyme infused sorbet with chocolate and olive oil is a must try. Reservations are a necessity. Great French Bisto dining experience.

I was initially disappointed to have not gotten a reservation at Bistrot Paulbert for their famous steak au poivre but found this place as an alternative, and I'm now so glad I did. It's a refined bistro with a small menu, and a dinner offer of 4 mini appetisers and one main for €69. I was intimidated by the number of appetisers but was reassured that they were small. They were very delicious, especially the oyster and the crab egg! For the main, I had the sirloin steak au poivre which was the best steak I've ever had. The sauce was so delicious that I could have eaten it with a spoon. The steak was cooked to perfection; rare and juicy. I didn't have space for dessert unfortunately but will need to return to try it.

Came for the steak frites, but the fresh tarte aux pommes stole our hearts! Great service, slightly pricier than we thought it should be.
Sarah F — Google review
From the moment we stepped into the cozy space, it was clear we were in for something special. Each dish that arrived at our table managed to outdo the last — an impressive feat considering how sublime the starters were. The flavors were bold yet refined, with ingredients that tasted fresh and thoughtfully combined. The chef’s attention to detail was evident in everything from the textures to the plating, creating a dining experience that felt indulgent and expertly crafted. That said, while the meal was undeniably delicious, the final bill for two gave us pause. For the portion sizes and overall offering, the price tag felt steep — enough to leave us wishing for just a bit more, whether in terms of serving size or added value. Still, the warmth of the service more than made up for the sticker shock. The staff was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and worked together with seamless coordination in a remarkably compact kitchen and dining space. Their teamwork and positive energy added a human touch to an already impressive culinary outing. Overall, it was a memorable meal — a delightful treat for the palate, albeit one that might be best reserved for special occasions.

Had a fantastic meal here! The steak frites was the best I’ve eaten in a very long time , the sauce is amazing and the frites were perfectly crisp and delicious to dip in the leftover sauce The wine the server suggested was delicious Don’t skip the chocolate mousse either A perfect meal in Paris on our first night Loved the cosy atmosphere!! Definitely make reservations ahead of time

Birthday dinner for two - EUR 204. In terms of the appetizers, we loved the mushrooms, leeks and (in particular) the oysters. Both the hanger steak and the sirloin were very good - although our server was right that the sirloin is better. The chocolate mousse is incredibly rich, and the apple tart with caramel ice cream was quite good as well. We appreciated that the staff put a candle in the mousse when bringing it out.

La Maison de l'Aubrac is a renowned family-run steakhouse located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It's known for serving prime, aged beef from grass-fed cattle along with a selection of wines and sauces. The restaurant's rustic baroque decor may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's worth overlooking for the chance to indulge in their superb Aubrac beef, particularly the epic cote de boeuf and faux filet served with aligot.
The atmosphere was fantastic, busy and crowded in a good way. The food flavors & presentation is great, however, the only issue is the steaks at “medium” was actually overcooked like well-done. Overall experience was very positive.

Excellent food, fantastic service, and amazing vibe. We went here for dinner and were lucky to have the waiters Lucas and Nassi. They were both so kind and helpful. Get the dry aged beef... It was the best meal we had in Paris. They also were incredibly patient with my wife's French (second language) and let her practice and taught her new phrases. 100% recommend, we will be back the next time we are in Paris.

Merci Massi. Come to this amazing restaurant and ask for Massi. He will take care of any food restrictions and truly does service with a smile. He was patient, friendly, explained to my party the region of where the beef came from, and truly is a Gentleman. Can’t wait to send all my friends and family in to this amazing establishment. This restaurant is really unique and has a ton of character thanks to Massi. #BringbackMatchbook

Everything you can ask for in a Parisian steakhouse. Prompt, friendly and relaxed service, no pressure. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Wonderful food from start to finish. Pumpkin soup, lasagna and dry aged ribeye cooked to perfection. The wine was on point and the dessert fresh and delicious. We couldn't have found better. So happy we came. Book it, no need to keep looking. You won't regret it.

As tourists, this restaurant was recommended to us by our concierge. The manager warmly greeted us upon arrival even though we were a bit tardy do to our flight ✈️ and we were seated immediately. We enjoyed our escargot 🐌 and bottle of wine. My dish was tasty, but my husband’s steak was mostly gristle and fat. It did not pair well with the savigny les beaune vin. A special thank you the manager who took care of our complaint with the subpar steak. It was immediately replaced with an appropriate 🥩. Our servers seemed annoyed with us throughout our entire meal, but the manager on duty that evening was excellent. I am not confident in recommending this place to tourists because of the servers, but I would recommend to Parisians. Once the steak mishap was corrected, the food was good.

In all this place is definitely worth a visit. The steak is one of the best I’ve tried in Paris, also in the whole Europe. And the price is really sincere, not expensive. But the service is a little bit hurrying, the waiter quickly poured a bottle of wine for us without letting us know anything about it. Also, the Magret de canard is too salty. They shouldn’t scattered that much salt on it, the sauce is already pretty salty.

Very good food, and the server, Sylvain, made the whole experience even better. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and added a personal touch that really elevated our evening. We left with a big smile thanks to him. Highly recommend La Maison de l'Aubrac — and if you can, ask for Sylvain!

It was my worst time in Paris. I had the most racist waiter—when I politely asked for the restroom, he refused twice without even looking at me. Later, he tried to smile and make up for it, but it was too late. This one rude, arrogant man ruined the entire shop’s image and made the whole team look bad. The food is good with beef and lamb! But this guy is unbearable! Makes everything feel so so bad!

This restaurant stands out for its extensive wine selection, offering over 100 varieties to complement their range of meats, including Angus and Simmental, all roasted on their BBQ. Despite being relatively new compared to other establishments in the area, L'Aller Retour Marais has quickly gained popularity for its quality service and food.
Absolutely loved our dinner at L’Aller Retour Marais! The Argentinian steak was hands down the best I’ve ever had – incredibly tender and flavorful. The tartare was a generous portion and absolutely delicious. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient. Highly recommend!

This was hands down our best dinner experience in Paris. The service is exceptional, the food is phenomenal and the vibes are great. The staff are attentive and helpful and the prices are good especially considering the quality of the food. Will come back again and highly recommend!

the food was phenomenal!! had the best best meat ever. they probably put crack in the french fries because OMG!!! IT WAS SOOOOO goood. even the salad was made well with the tangy and flower flavor dressing. I love love this place. the server was so helpful by suggesting the right wine and dishes. highly recommend!

This is our second visit, while they managed not to burn our food the service is simply obnoxious. We ordered a bottle of wine, and they broke the cork...Which happens, but instead of filtering the wine and decanting for us. they did nothing. They simply have a french hostility to foreigners. Meat is ok, place uncomfortable. I had better meal at Arab Kebab.

Fries and sauces were tasty, unfortunately our fillet steak was tough. Overheard another customer saying it was the best steak they’ve had, so we could have just been unlucky! Service was really friendly. Will consider coming back

when we were looking for this resturant we thought it had disappeared but it is a small and from the outside very dark. I am so glad we found this place -- Everything on the plate felt thoughtfully prepared and balanced. You could taste the quality of the ingredients and the care in the cooking. The Argentina steak frites was outstanding.and perfectly cooked— tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The chimichurri added just the right balance of freshness and spice without overpowering the meat. The fries were crisp on the outside, soft inside, and well seasoned. I came back into talk about the service. It is interesting. it is a small place and the way they were cranking out the food was phenomenal - the wine selection was unbelievable and the manager helped with a selection that was amazing. If you enjoy a classic steak frites done right, this dish stands out—simple, satisfying, and memorable.

Awful food. The reviews looked great but it was a complete letdown. Worst bit of beef I have ever eaten (wouldn’t feed it to my dog). More gristle than meat. The potatoes were dry. Salad was wilted and off. Very poor. Nothing like the pictures or reviews.

My family and I are from Northern California & consider ourselves burger afficionados. We ate all over the surrounding neighborhood but had cheeseburgers at Le Voltaire three times! A juicy, thick patty cooked perfectly medium, a high-quality bun, and a thousand island dressing. We didn't have much else here, so we can't speak to any of the other menu items. They play a lot of American music, too. Great place when you're a little homesick. For 3 people, our bill was about $50.

Terrible terrible food and service. My friend and I both had lunch here, club sandwiches, the bread was completely burnt on both of our meals. Plus it was not busy but it took almost 30 minutes to arrive. No apology from the staff.

The restaurant is known for its fabulous steak frites and extensive wine list. Visitors can expect high-quality, tender meat that appears to be aged for several weeks, accompanied by fresh homemade fries.
such a rich and unique experience to dine here! it wasn't like any other restaurant or steak place! don't bother going here if you like your steak well-done, or even medium-well. I don't think I can have steak tartare anywhere wise now that I've tried William's. and the fried potatoes... don't make me start about it! the genuine hospitality that I received was so beyond anything similar!

Nothing fancy, just fantastic meat. I was leery based on some of the other reviews, but service was polite and prompt. The kitchen was quick, and it was probably one of the best cuts of meat excellently prepared that I've ever had. Nothing fancy, just cooked with salt and pepper to let the meat speak for itself. If you like beef you should treat yourself.

I booked a table at Le Severo to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday, expecting a delightful evening with French meat dishes as advertised online. Unfortunately, this was one of the most upsetting dining experiences I’ve ever had. Upon arrival, we discovered the menu had no resemblance to what was shown online. The promised French meat dishes were unavailable, with only minced meat or unappealing options from Canada or Germany offered. When I politely raised this issue with the manager, he became shockingly belligerent. I requested to leave without charge, but he insisted on charging us 90 euros. When I offered to order a small item like water or dessert to resolve things, he refused, demanding we stay for a full meal. His behavior escalated to verbal abuse, calling me a “loser” and “stupid,” forcing me to call the police for safety. This hostile and unprofessional conduct ruined our special occasion and left us deeply shaken. Reviews suggest others have faced similar treatment, indicating a pattern. I strongly advise against dining here. I’m still seeking a refund for the unjust charge.

Very high quality of meat if you’re looking for a good steak in Paris. The meat is really tender (looks like they aged it for at least several weeks). Fresh home made fries. The wine suggestion was average. Nice decoration and ambiance. Small, warm and cozy restaurant in a quiet corner.

My first stop after my flight landed in Paris. Because first things first. It pretty much set the bar and the standard for the french cuisine experience during my stay. I knew what I wanted beforehand. To try both the tartare and the filet de boeuf. Both were excellent. Also tried the creme caramel, which was decent (for my portuguese sweet palate). It was a delicious and no frills food. The focus was where it should be, the perfectly cooked meat. I had a great and relaxing time. I will definitely be back soon!

Good food. Discourteous ( or should I say Rude) owner. We went here 7:15pm since our schedule was 7:30 pm We waited for the crew to offer us food and they did exactly 7:30pm. Asked them if they have English menu the owner rudely said”no”. We asked him what he recommends, he speaks French and didn’t understand anything he said so we just ordered(I don’t blame him if he doesn’t speak English, I fully understand and respect it) but a smile wouldn’t cost him a penny. Anyway the food were good. Steak was really soft.the is price is just. We smiled at him and said that the food were great. He just looked at us without even appreciating our acknowledgement for the food( and to think…NO one was inside the restaurant aside from us that time), no Merci, no smile, no anything just a vvveerryy straight face. That’s how grateful the owner was! Unbelievable! but food was great. Still I wouldn’t come back.

Ordered a steak a point / medium rare - 50€ for it and frites. Received the plate pictured, which is absolutely medium if being generous, and very much on the medium-well side for much of it. Tried to talk with the staff, only to be talked down to and have him rudely point to another diner’s steak as medium rare (theirs was very, very rare, and looked somewhat more edible to be fair). What I received ate absolutely tasteless and tough. And totally dry (medium rare, right?). Ate a few bites and left. The overdone steak is one thing - the truly dismissive, patronizing service is way worse.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are attentive and friendly, which made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent — the onion soup, steak, and oystes were especially delicious and memorable. The frog legs were a bit dry and could have used more seasoning, but that was a minor detail compared to the overall quality of the meal. We truly enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

We had amazing food here. Found this place without plan or reservation, we actually stopped because we found something husband wanted to eat, frog legs. Food was brilliant, frog legs were a star of the meal. I had amazing pasta dish, ravioli Dauphine . We also tried 14hrs cooked ribs and some French chicken dish. I had wonderful and refreshing spritz Italicus. We even had a small sweet treat at the end of our meal. We didn't had space in our stomach for a dessert but we had to try that meringue bites we got. Very good restaurant with authentic French atmosphere.

While several people from my office were on business trip in Paris France, we had the most wonderful and amazing dinner at this fantastic restaurant. From the moment our large group arrived, we were treated in the most respectful and caring fashion. We were brought to their bar where we were all served some of the most amazing cocktails we have ever had. When we were finally seated on the outdoor patio for dinner, it was the most perfect setting. Our professional waiter was over the top amazing. And without disrespecting anyone, all of the staff at this restaurant were fantastic. We all had perhaps the best dinner we had during our entire business trip and if I am ever back in Paris, I will be sure to make a reservation and visit this fantastic restaurant once again. Thank you to everyone at Au Pied de Cochon for making our trip and even more wonderful experience for our group from Canada. Paul Calgary, Canada 🇨🇦

A famous Parisian establishment. Ample seating (3 floors), but recommendations needed as it gets crowded fast with a long walk in queue. Food served here is very traditional French fares. I went for the mushrooms with marrow, as well as the braised pig face (not kidding). Other traditional less challenging offerings are of course available. Drop by for a brunch… the restaurant interior and exterior are indeed instagrammable.

We happened to pass by this so-called “iconic” restaurant late at night after already having dinner elsewhere and decided to stop in for a light snack. There was no wait, so we sat outside. Our waiter handed us the menu and bounced between nearby tables, but when we ordered just a couple of starters, he actually complained that we were supposed to order one main dish per person—then said he’d make an “exception” this time. 🙄 To keep the peace, we even ordered a Crêpe Suzette for dessert just to please him. The food itself was mediocre at best, and that's being generous - exactly what you’d expect from a touristy spot living off its name. We had two glasses of wine, a bottle of water, two starters, and the dessert, and the bill came to about USD 80. Definitely not worth it. The food was subpar, and that’s being generous. I won’t be going back.

Made a reservation and was seated quickly. Ordered the French onion soup and fresh clams as an entree. The soup was great but the fresh clams were not so fresh. I mentioned it to our waiter and he dismissed my comments. The rest of our meal was mediocre, the gnocchi felt heavy but the fish was good. Not sure I need to come back next time unless it’s specifically for the soup.

Le Relais de Venise - son entrecôte is a renowned Parisian restaurant that has gained global recognition for its exceptional steak-frites. This establishment is an OG when it comes to serving this classic dish, as it exclusively offers steak and fries on its menu. Upon arrival, diners are simply asked how they prefer their steak cooked, with options ranging from ultra-rare to well-done.
Fantastic experience! The meat was excellent — full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The sauce was absolutely divine! Service was fast, and the prices were excellent for the quality. The space is a bit tight, but it feels warm and cozy. Highly recommend!
Bruna R — Google review
Service was great and welcoming, however we had so many issues with our meal that really left us with a bad taste in our mouth. 1. We ordered sparkling water, yet it was served in a reused Badoit bottle and was very weak. 2. Our salads arrived and was lightly dressed and not very flavourful. My salad was so sandy I could not have more than a few bites of it. 3. We asked for our meat rare. Our first portion was about 150 grams, 200 if we're being generous, which I wasn't satisfied with. I finished my portion within two minutes. Although the meat was tasty and the iconic butter sauce was a great pair, I finished my small portion too quickly to enjoy it. 4. The fries were ok. The main issue is there was not enough butter sauce and no other condiments were served, so after a few fries they became too dry to finish. 5. The second portion came and was about 100 grams. My partner got around 150 grams. My steak was once again rare and delicious, but my partner's was medium well. It was shocking how bland and unimpressive her overcooked cuts were. Very disappointing. 6. There is no AC and the windows are wide open to allow the Parisian breeze to enter when it wants to. The problem is so many people are waiting in line outside by the windows so smoke is bound to linger indoors. I wish the management enforced a "no smoking in line" rule, but to ask this is like asking Parisians to forego croissants. 7. Each meal was €30. A sandy, flavourless salad, 300 grams (give or take) of entrecote, and fries you don't know what to do with is not worth the asking price, especially if you have to wait in line like most guests do. We forewent dessert, discouraged from the poor showing of the previous courses. Although there were two portions given, they were both on the smaller side so it really is one normal portion cleverly split up to seem bigger with the second portion of fries given as well. Do not wait in line for this.
Avi G — Google review
They serve a special steak, it taste very nice and tender. It comes with fries which is nice too. 3 of us ordered 5 portions of meat and we enjoyed it. The wait for the table is very long, we were on the queue for 1.5 hours.
Matt M — Google review
Well, this restaurant used to be one of the best around Palais des Congrès. Sadly, the service quality has diminished slowly to the tune of "I'm too good for you"... You can't blame them considering the still long waiting line. First, the waitresses kept mixing up our drinks orders. Then the table seated 10 minutes after us got served starters first... My request for butter was met with a stern reply: "on n'a pas de beurre!" (there's no butter! ). The salad was bland with hardly any dressing. The meat was thankfully tender but is reduced to 5 thin slices... I wonder if we even get 100g in total for 30€ euros. Do yourself a favor, there are better options elsewhere with good service too 😂
Le H — Google review
The sweet spot for first seating appears to be around 25 minutes before restaurant doors open - we lined up around 6:20 pm on a holiday and still managed to get a patio seat. The food: two servings of steak frites can satisfy a person but it’s rather pricy for what you’re actually getting. While rather tasty sauce and a perfectly cooked steak to your liking, consider at 30 euros it’s really a very basic meal. Second seating appears at 8pm for those who unfortunately have to wait.
Albert L — Google review
This restaurant is simple yet delicious - salad, steak, and fries! Make sure to arrive early for dinner service if you want to be seated with the first wave of patrons (I’d recommend at least 30-45 minutes prior to opening). Also, do not skip out on the dessert!!
Patrick D — Google review
This place changed my top 5 locations to eat entrecote. Definitely will pay them a visit whenever in Paris. Don't even get me started on cakes, simply amazing!

Get there early! We arrived on a Sunday night 20 minutes before the doors opened. There were about eight people in front of us (we were a party of two) and people began to gather quickly. They can seat a fair number of people inside but there will eventually be a wait any night and it gets so long. I liked this simplistic menu. We were asked how we wanted our steak cooked - medium for both of us - and what we wanted to drink - verre de vin rouge for both. We had a light salad, bread and then the steak and fries arrived. The fries were fried perfectly and the steak was cooked as ordered. The sauce on the steak was a nice tough without being too heavy. We both had a second portion of meat and that was filling. J’ai bien mangé! I’d definitely return to dine there again. Try the homemade profiteroles for dessert, too!

The restaurant's Belle Epoque dining room sets the stage for patrons to savor a variety of French classics without breaking the bank.
This is not fancy dining so expect to share table, noisy crowds and simple-looking food. Good thing is that the food tastes decent and is very reasonably priced, and the space is beautifully decorated. So overall great value for money.

Honestly, quality, taste, ambiance are not that good. We feel like eating in the cantine. Nothing special. We are family of 3 and sat next to other people which is not really that comfortable. We were there for lunch and arrived at 11.45 and no queue (heureusement! Because when we finished and went out, there were long queue😲). The appearance of the food were quite sad actually, very plain… We ordered 3 entrees (2 plate of eggs mayonnaise and 1 plate of 6 escargot), 1 plate of saucisse Aveyron, 1 plate of choucroute, 1 plate of tête de veau, 1 plate of magret de canard and 1 plate of confit de canard, 1 crème au caramel , 1 coupe mont blanc, 1 bouteille du vin rouge Chateau pilet appellation bordeaux contrôlée, carafe d’eau, une cafe espresso … the price all all already included tax 12.5% … however we paid one euro more that we were supposed to pay (paid 92.7€ instead of 91.7))… 1 € is ok but what I don’t like is that they did not use the calculator to calculate the price of the food that we ordered. I Even asked if everything was correct and the server just said all the stuff we ordered was correct but did not show us the calculation nor give us the invoice and just told us the total amount… when we were out, i took out their menu so i wanted to see correctly when we were in the car… et voilà, miscalculated… I know it’s only 1 €, is ok for me but what if it happened to almost everyone who came there, do the math! If the food was good, there might be a consideration for us to go back there next time. But unfortenately, the food is not good… the only thing what was ok is the place itself and the décoration .. The first Time for us but it would be the last time 🙃 p.s husband didn’t take pic of his food Saucisse Aveyron as the appearance was not that appealing 😅

My husband and I decided to visit after seeing all the glowing reviews and ratings. We arrived around 7 pm and only waited a few minutes in line, but by the time we left around 8 pm, the queue outside was huge. Definitely go early if you plan to visit. I understand it’s a historic spot, but I doubt it was ever this packed back in the day. It felt like a buzzing beehive, great if you enjoy that kind of energy, not so much if you prefer a calmer atmosphere. The prices are modest, but the quality matches that. The experience reminded me of a cafeteria both in the noise level and in how the food was presented. The service was super fast, which made th experience more pleasant. If you come as a couple, don't expect a table for 2, you'll be sat next to someone else at a table of 4 or more. Overall, I’m glad we tried it once for the experience, but it’s not somewhere I’d return to. Once is enough. Total bill: 1 starter, 2 mains, 2 drinks, 1 dessert: €37.
Alexandra L — Google review
The queue is quite complicated, so make sure to ask where the end of the line is, as there are three separate lines. We found a staff member who directed us to the correct one. Staff move people from the front of one line to the end of the next. We ended up queuing for an hour before a seat was offered to our party of three. We shared a table with another party of three who had been in line just ahead of us. The food here is mid, but what it lacks in flavor, it makes up for in price, service, and ambience. The atmosphere is lively, the decor traditional, and the waiters carrying an entire table’s entrees on one arm was nothing short of spectacular. One of the major perks of Bouillon Chartier is the price—£1 for a goopy green soup (which didn’t have much flavor), and entrees ranging from £10 to £13. This is one of those restaurants I’m glad to have tried once, but the food didn’t leave me wanting to come back. Also, I think new cutlery is very much needed. I had a difficult time cutting through my steak with the provided knife, which was so dull it couldn’t even pass as a butter knife.

After a lot of searching on the internet for where to eat in Paris, I chose "bouillon", the best option for tasting traditional French cuisine. Next step: with one. Because there are some for a reasonable and acceptable price, and there are some that are more expensive and much more expensive. So which one is it? Bouillon Chartier, located not to far from our hotel (weather was horrible, rain all the day long) and from comments I understood that prices more than reasonable. So, here we are. As expected there was a queue at the restaurant (and it doesn't matter what time of the day), but fast, our maximum was 10 minutes, we visited this restaurant for lunch and early dinner. Service also fast, friendly (surprise, with their occupancy. Food, what i can say, maybe not a perfect, but good, tasty, fresh, traditional. If you never tasted before French cuisine this is the place for you, you'll enjoy. Atmosphere, loud, of course, but again huge place with a lot of clients everyday non-stop from 11-30 to midnight, you should expect this. Do I recommended, absolutely yes, and be ready for all points mentioned above.
Iryna E — Google review
Bouillon Chartier is truly a piece of Parisian history — a heritage restaurant that’s been serving traditional French cuisine since 1896, and it absolutely lives up to its reputation! The moment you arrive, you’ll notice a lively crowd waiting outside — a sign of just how popular this place is. I had to wait a few minutes to get a table for dinner, but once inside, the atmosphere made it worth it. The restaurant is bustling with energy — filled with chatter, clinking glasses, and the unmistakable aroma of French cheese that instantly sets the mood. I went with my colleagues to try escargots for the very first time, and it was such an experience! Apart from the escargots, we ordered steamed prawns with mayonnaise, steak with mashed potatoes, and duck with boiled potatoes — all cooked beautifully and full of authentic flavors. I was also fascinated to see the waiter taking our order right on the paper spread across the table — he actually wrote down the names of the dishes we ordered there itself and later calculated the total bill on the same paper. It’s such a simple yet transparent system, and it feels nice to see the bill being made right in front of you, knowing you’re charged correctly. The only downside is that the service can feel a bit rushed, likely because of the heavy crowd. Our waiter seemed slightly grumpy, maybe from a long day of serving endless guests. Still, it added to the authentic Parisian charm — this is a place that runs on tradition and energy. What really stood out was the atmosphere — during our meal, someone was celebrating their birthday, and the entire restaurant joined in singing “Joyeux Anniversaire.” It was such a heartwarming moment, seeing strangers come together in celebration. Bouillon Chartier is not just a restaurant — it’s an experience. A little chaotic, a little crowded, but full of history, flavor, and life. Definitely a must-visit if you want to taste true French cuisine in a truly Parisian way! 🇫🇷✨

It was my first time at Bouillon Chartier Montparnasse. We waited about 15 minutes for a table (for 2 people), which wasn’t bad. For larger groups, it might be more difficult to get seated right away as the queue can be quite long. They serve classic French dishes — delicious and very affordable. The staff provided great service throughout our meal. It can get a bit loud, but that’s part of the charm; the lively atmosphere and beautiful old-style setting make you feel like you’re stepping back in time. Be aware that you might be seated next to other diners, but overall, it’s an amazing experience.

Absolutely adored the restaurant’s decor in Art Nouveau style. Menu is affordable and offers some classic French dishes. Service-wise as it is a popular tourist & local spot it can be quite slow even you can see waiters are running around trying to do everything. They operate on a walk-in basis, so expect to wait, especially during peak hours

Sacred Flower, also known as Sacree Fleur, is a cozy local restaurant situated at the base of Montmartre in Paris. It offers a modern twist on traditional French dishes such as escargot, frog legs, and foie gras in a charming rustic-chic dining space. The restaurant is renowned for its delectable steaks infused with mild spices and served with classic sides, accompanied by an array of complementary wines to enhance the dining experience.
Absolutely amazing experience! The food was out of this world, hands down the best meat I’ve ever had in my life. Everything tasted so fresh and full of flavor. The service was top-notch too… friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The whole place had such an authentic, cozy vibe that made the meal even more memorable.

We had such a fantastic experience! I emailed the night before about a reservation and received a speedy, friendly response with confirmation. The place itself is cozy, rustic, and authentic—truly charming. The meal did not disappoint: the steak was superb, served on a skillet so we could cook it exactly how we like it. The service was amazing, with a wonderful wine recommendation from our waiter. The dessert—a gorgeous cheese board—was the perfect finish. Highly recommended! This gem in Paris is definitely a place we’ll be recommending to friends, and we can’t wait to come back.

During our family trip to Paris we decided to try several restaurants that specialize in steak frites. We did $$$ - $. However we only went to restaurants that we could get a reservation. The winner by a landslide was Sacrée fleur. They won on all counts. We had the onion soup. And the duck pate for starters. Then the main course. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. It was served on a hot griddle like plate so if you needed it a little more cooked you could. We got three different sauces and a huge skillet of frites. Sooooo GOOD. The dessert winner was the Brioche French toast. The place is intimate (small). But there were 6 of us and we did not feel closed in. The staff was fun and helpful. We made our reservation 2 weeks in advance especially since there were 6 of us. You will not be disappointed

This steak changed my brain chemistry. It’s the best steak restaurant that I’ve tried in Paris, I had no notes. The steak is brought to you on a sizzling hot plate which keeps the steak warm. It’s served with flaky salt and 3 sauces!! Pepper, shallot and Gorgonzola. The frites were super crispy and fluffy on the inside. Dessert was spectacular, it was like a show and a dessert all in one! The service is impeccable and the vibes were very cosy, it was perfect for a date night!

We made a reservation in advance through their email and they were very responsive. Easy enough to do! You must make a reservation if you’d like to dine. They get very busy. We got the cote de boeuf for 2 and it came on a sizzling platter with 3 dips (pepper, onion and blue cheese). In reality this meal could feed 3 people as its so large so you may not finish. We finished the steak but had no room for fries. We finished with the traditional creme brulee and it was perfection!

If I could, I would give 6/5. When we entered, the scent of steaks was great - we knew we made the right choice! The ribs were amazing, delicious. They bring it on a hot stone so you can grill it more if needed. Frog legs were also very nice. Staff was great - willing to help/explain/suggest, table was sorted nicely and practically. When we visit Paris again, we will make sure to stop by here!!!

SACRÉ BLEU, SACRÉ FLEUR. We started strong — escargot, tartare, and French onion soup that could make a grown man weep. 10/10, not a single note to change. And that bread basket? Honestly, I’m still thinking about it. Quite possibly the best bread I’ve ever had — crunchy crust, soft center, straight from carb heaven. Then came the steaks — ribeye and filet, both ordered medium rare but served somewhere between “fresh from the field” and “still mooing.” Flavor? Great. Doneness? Not so much. A generous 7/10 because I could practically hear the cow whisper “merci.” Crème brûlée for dessert brought redemption — a flawless, caramelized mic drop. 10/10. One small faux pas: they asked for a tip — which in Europe feels about as out of place as ketchup on a croissant. Overall? Mostly magnifique with just a few sour tastes. I’d go back… but maybe with a meat thermometer.

Bouillon Pigalle is a popular casual bistro in Paris, offering traditional French dishes and desserts along with house wines by the glass. The setting is charming, modern, and cozy with two floors and a balcony terrace.
Foods are good and inexpensive. Portion are big. I tried most of my favorite French appetizer from onion soup, escargot and bone marrow. Duck confit is delicious. I love buillon and have tried four of them during this visit (Pigalle, Republique, Chartier and Pharamond)
Ganda G — Google review
We visited Bouillon Pigalle in Paris, a restaurant I had heard a lot about and had been looking forward to trying. I would highly recommend reserving in advance, as the place gets very busy and lively, especially during peak hours. For my meal, I opted for the Boeuf Bourguignon with lard fumé and coquillettes. Honestly, the dish felt quite basic. While the flavors were classic, the beef was a bit dry, and it didn’t have the richness I was expecting from such a famous dish. I also ordered the escargots, which were delicious and definitely one of the highlights of the meal. My friend went with the cuisse de poulet with sauce poulette and fries. The chicken was well-cooked, but the fries were just average, nothing special. I went in with high expectations due to all the hype surrounding the restaurant, but while the food was decent, it didn’t quite give me the “wow” factor I was hoping for. That said, the service was impeccable—the staff was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the overall experience very pleasant despite the food being a bit underwhelming. Another positive point is that the restaurant is really not expensive, especially considering the location in Paris and the quality of the ingredients. For anyone looking to enjoy a traditional Parisian meal without spending a fortune, Bouillon Pigalle offers good value for money. The atmosphere is lively and very Parisian, which adds to the charm. Overall, it’s a nice spot for a casual yet classic Parisian meal, particularly if you manage your expectations regarding the food. The combination of friendly service, reasonable prices, and a bustling environment makes it worth a visit, even if it doesn’t quite live up to the hype on the culinary side.

The food was a hit and miss. Most we ordered were good such as the seafood vol au vent, escargot and eggs with maroilles cream but the steak frites was terrible. It was extremely hard and rubbery, pls do not order that. No wonder I saw so many people ordering the pork shank with fries and that looked good! Place was very cute though, and the staff were helpful and nice. All in all an interesting Parisian experience, but I think once is enough for me!

Food here is really what you pay for. Cheap and Average. You could easily find better food options for 14-18 Euros at authentic french restaurants around here. Fortunately, I reserved a table and did not have to queue for an hour, which would make this meal way less worth. On another note, service is slow and waiters are seemingly full of attitude.
CJW — Google review
Packed, and Bustling Restaurant. Very Popular with tourists. There is usually a line to get in, which is always a good sign of awesomeness. However the food is Good, with the versions of the popular favorites, known for in france. For the money great bang for you buck. But If you want really good food, you may need to spend more.
Brian C — Google review
The food was INCREDIBLE. I have a lot of food allergies, and I felt very safe eating here. The best tasting shrimp I’ve ever had, so full of flavor. The fries were perfectly cooked, I ate all of them! (With the help of some salt lol). The green beans were also delicious and perfectly cooked. I can’t remember the name, but the spritz I got was also perfect. My friend and I really enjoyed this meal and the restaurant! Great atmosphere and good views. The service absolutely sucked though. Very rude and impatient waiter. Almost ruined the whole experience for my friend. But the food was affordable! Way cheaper than I was expecting, so overall I’d definitely come back (and hope for a different waiter)
Lexi B — Google review
Bouillon Pigalle is one of those Paris restaurants that’s always buzzing — quite literally “boiling” like its name suggests! Before being seated, you first wait in a “second queue” until the staff invite you to join the first one. Even with the crowd, everything runs in an impressively organized way. The moment you step inside, you feel the heat — not just from the temperature, but from the fast pace and vibrant energy filling the room. The décor is delightfully retro: white tiled walls, wooden floors, illustrated vegetable columns, red banquette seating, and an entire wall dedicated to fresh bread. There’s even a red Bouillon-branded bicycle as a quirky touch. Service is quick and well-coordinated — servers carry stacks of plates through the bustling space with ease and a smile. The menu offers a wide range of French classics, clearly priced. 💡 Tip: During peak hours, expect to wait… and in summer, dress light! 🙂…The menu offers a wide range of French classics, clearly priced. Perhaps because it was so busy, I never actually got a clean dinner knife before paying and leaving — just a small, amusing detail.

Beefbar is a renowned meat-centric restaurant located in an 1878 Art Nouveau brasserie that has been beautifully refurbished. The dining rooms are adorned with delicate art nouveau panels, soft lamps, and stunning glass and steel rooftop. This establishment is famous for offering succulent top-quality steaks from various regions such as Kansas (USA), Australia, Kobe (Japan), and France.
We had an incredible dining experience at Beefbar Paris! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The quality of the food is outstanding — every cut of meat was cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor. You can really taste the attention to detail and the premium ingredients they use. The staff were just as impressive as the food — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They took the time to explain the menu and made sure every detail of our meal was perfect. The service felt effortless yet refined, adding to the overall elegance of the evening. The atmosphere is chic and stylish without being pretentious, making it a great place for both a special occasion or a relaxed night out. Overall, Beefbar Paris delivers on every level — exceptional food, fantastic service, and a beautiful setting. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates great dining in Paris!

The food was amazing, the service was very quick, and the atmosphere is perfect/ beautiful! We got the fillets with the beef bar signature sauce. These were phenomenal. We only wished we had a reservation for the next night so that we could do it all over again! My only complaint was that the waiters were not super friendly or personal. We let the waiter know that we were celebrating our engagement that day. We had just been engaged that morning. They didn’t recognize it, or even give a congratulations. High-end restaurants should always lean into sentimental occasions, because it brings back return customers. I even put it in the reservation notes that we were celebrating, and it was never brought up.

The only consistent theme here seem to be beef, beyond that it was hard to tell what type of cuisine the restaurant was aiming for. The menu felt a bit unfocused. We had a variety of the street food dishes only, which had some interesting and bold flavours. Service was fine overall, but our waiter didn’t seem very familiar with the menu and had to check back a few times to answer our questions. That said, the space itself is comfortable, stylish, well decorated and with a classy atmosphere that makes for a pleasant dining experience.

An absolutely outstanding lunch at Beefbar! Every detail was perfect, from the chic atmosphere to the exceptional quality of the food. The Kobe ham was a pure delicacy, melting in the mouth, and the Kobe tacos were simply out of this world, perfectly balanced, rich, and unforgettable. A special mention to Raphael, our server, who made the experience truly remarkable with his warm attention and impeccable service. A world-class dining experience. I can’t wait to come back!

Excellent dinner at Beefbar Paris! The atmosphere is refined yet welcoming, the restored 1938 ceiling it’s breathtaking, the service impeccable, and the quality of the meat truly outstanding. Each cut was perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and full of flavour with an excellent selection of sides and wines. A small note: the meat was served with a spice and herb rub, which I personally didn’t enjoy , and this wasn’t mentioned on the menu. It would be great if the waiter could point that out when taking the order, so guests can make a more informed choice. We also tried a couple of dishes from the street food menu, and they were simply amazing, beautifully presented and packed with flavour. That said, the overall experience was exceptional a must-visit for anyone who loves great meat and attention to detail.

Nothing was Michelin star about this place. DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THE PICS OF THE MAIN DINING ROOM. THEY WILL STICK YOU TO A CORNER AT THE FIRST OPPOTUNITY WHICH IS OUTSIDE. The Servers were attentive and experienced. Very Polite as expected. Food was really good, but at that price point it better be. The place was VERY noisy, I was surprised. At that price point and being deceived into a horrible table I will not recommend the place
Subhra C — Google review
We had a €260 ribeye which was ok, but definitely not mouthwatering as I expected it to be. The tacos were good but tiny. Fries with truffle just ok. Service was average, waiters not attentive enough and things took more time than expected and sometimes were forgotten. The decoration is fantastic.
Christis A — Google review
The staff are friendly and polite. The quesadillas were quite good, about a 9 out of 10, but the black angus bavette and the milk veal center cut were not very tasty. We waited around thirty minutes for those dishes as well. The interior looks great, yet the food does not live up to it.

What a wonderful experience we had in this charming yet refined steak focused restaurant. There is a great story behind this restaurant and the food matches up brilliantly. Awesome wine list. Amazing entrees (we had the tuna tartare and octopus) and a great selection of international meats cooked to perfection. Chefs recommendation for dessert was heavenly - The Flan!! The establishment's servers, adorned in waistcoats, navigate through the space carrying trays laden with iconic French dishes such as onion soup and boeuf bourguignon.
Just really great. There were four of us and we had to wait about 20 minutes in the evening. But it's definitely worth it, especially because the prices are top notch and the food tastes really delicious. In the photos, I photographed the menus in German, English, and French. We tried a variety of different dishes, everything was really delicious, and the service was excellent, especially considering the number of people! We particularly liked it because, unlike some other restaurants, it's not about looking great and having chic, photogenic decor, but about the food and having great conversations, which makes it feel like home.

Delicious! Cozy! A bit tight, but everything is neat and comfortable! I can recommend it! We came till 6:00 PM and didn’t have to wait in line. The classic onion soup has disappeared from the menu. The dishes took a little while to be served, but everything was tasty! It was my first time trying snails — thank you! Just don’t let them seat you next to the waiters’ working station — not the nicest spot 🙌🏻

Vibe, prices and service are 10/10, really recommend. The food itself was nice - starters and desserts were good, not extraordinarily but good, but the main courses (we ordered beef bourguignon and steak) were not good. The beef bourguignon was dry and the steak was tasteless and hard. Overall still recommend because the price is super low and the experience is great. The line also moves real fast. Maybe just focus on the starters more.

A great place to get traditional Parisian café food. I had the escargot, steak fries, creme brulee, and a half of Cote de Rhone. The flavours were wonderful, and things were cooked very well. The cut of steak I got was very tough and chewy, but everything else was perfect. I was there for a late lunch at 3pm, on a Monday. There was a 25 minute line up to get in. It took about 15 minutes before I was asked for my order, but after that things came quickly. Three courses with wine was €32.40

Amazing place! We waited an hour to get in, there was a huge queue, which did move fairly quickly - and it was so worth it! Still, better to have a reservation, confirmed. Prices are great, food is amazing, and the service and overall atmosphere is gorgeous! Me and my wife ate sooo much - everything was delicious - definitely must try the mayo eggs with truffle, and the onion tart, and the shrimp with mayo, and the bone marrow (if you’re into that, she said it was great and creamy), and the potato and porcini gratin, and the beef bourguignon, and the cheese plateau, and for dessert - the créme brulée Had some ‘rosé by the pitcher’ (1.5L hehe) and wife had the non-alcoholic cocktail, it was real nice All and all, around 85€ combined - my favourite place in Paris! Only sad part was, they didn’t have the onion soup, but it may be in the lunch menu Will continue visiting any time we’re in Paris <3

Great lively vibe, beautiful interior, and the food was fantastic. It isn’t often that I see bone marrow on a restaurant menu! Service was good. Giving only 4 stars for service because when someone’s meat was not cooked as requested, the initial response was not five star. Overall, would recommend. This place has been here over 100 years.

Staring with onion soup - the soup was savoy while it's still light to accommodate the melted cheese. The bread in the soup was crispy and goes very well with the soup and cheese. The main dish I had was, kidney in a grained mustard sauce. Surprisingly, the mustard sauce has a bit of sourness taste but it goes very well with a well cooked kidney.

We finally visited this Brasserie, which is very close to where we live, we reserved ahead of time, staff are welcoming and responsive, we had the rumsteack, the fish and ships, two glasses of red wine, and the mi cuit chocolat with caramel ice cream, very comforting on a autumn evening. Forgot to mention that the place is eye catching and unique. Must visit!

If someone asked me about a classic French cafe, Le Café du Commerce would pop into my head. It's a timeless and chic place. The overall feeling is very sophisticated and classy. The prices are very fair especially for the amazing quality of the food. The presentation was top notch. I am usually not a fan of skin on a piece of fish but the way it was prepared convinced me that there's no better way to eat fish. The onion soup was marvelous. I will dream of that crème brûlée for years to come. I would give the service 4.5 stars. Everyone was very friendly and kind with the exception of one server. When he brushed the crumbs off the table, he brushed them mostly into my lap. He bumped in to me A LOT and at one point his bottom made contact with me and he never once excused himself or apologized. There were a few other things that seemed off with this fellow. Everyone else at the restaurant was lovely but this one server put a bit of a damper on the experience.

Food and drinks are great, would return, and recommend making reservations. The duck breast was very tasty. The seasoning is on the lighter side, but I guess that's why they provide some salt on the side for your adjustment. The drinks were priced a bit above average, but you could definitely tell the effort put in the drink. I think the dessert was the highlight. The creams and the vanilla worked so well together. ( I'd be cautious if you're lactose intolerant). It was a bit of a wait on Saturday, but the crowd diminished quickly if you're not eating at popular meal time. It took us awhile to find the location before the Google pin wasn't on the right spot even the address was correct. Overall, I'm happy with the choice and would return.

A lovely French meal! If you’re looking for a medium to high budget place, this is your spot. We enjoyed it so much, we went twice! The sausage and potatoes were so good. The beef bourguignon had great flavor though some pieces of meat weren’t as tender as others. But the dessert-a lovely French pastry with homemade ice cream and the best chocolate sauce I’ve had as of yet. And please treat yourself to a drink. We personally loved (I forgot the name) one that had thyme liquor. Our second time, we enjoyed the duck breast (expect a bit of a chew) and the steak (perfectly cooked).

Honestly i have so much to say about this place, all amazing points! First of all i have been here around 6-8 times, tried several almost all their dishes , couples of entrees and many desserts. I have not once been disappointed 👌🏻 The service is amazing, the staff check on u very often and is extremely attentive. I received several suggestions of wine pairing with every plate i ordered (when asked, so don’t hesitate to !) The decor is cozy yet Instagramable and aesthetic, a part with old posters, one with glasses light up and a plant backdrop one. I have brought many friends that were visiting here and they have all been pleased. This is a truly honest review, everyone in the corner should come try !

I had a lovely experience at Brasserie Martin. I ordered the roasted chicken, sausage, and profiteroles — everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. The food alone made the visit worth it! The restaurant itself is cozy and welcoming, with a warm atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. The staff were helpful and friendly, which really added to the experience. One thing to keep in mind is that parking can be quite challenging in the area. It took a while to find a spot, but honestly, it was worth the effort for the quality of the food. Also, note that they start serving food at 12:00, so plan your visit accordingly. Highly recommended for a relaxed and tasty lunch or afternoon meal!

Excellent traditional Brasserie with the classics. great price, lovely space, most of staff lovely... I recommend. Mostly all locals, right off Parc de Gardette. I had the plat de jour, great dish of Pot au Fea. Generous. Preneaux Vanilla Ice Cream

A truly wonderful meal. We ordered the mussels (delicious and it was topped with fermented chilli which was an excellent twist) and frites to start. Our mains were the star of the meal. White tuna cooked to perfection served with mussels, heirloom tomatoes. And the basil and courgette risotto was delicious. It was lacking a little bit of salt (for us) but happy to add for my preference. We ended with the chocolate mousse which was light and rich at the same time. Excellent service - attentive, friendly and timely. Well priced. Thank you!

Robert et Louise is a classic French steakhouse located in the Marais district of Paris. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere with its wooden beams and stone walls, creating a cozy setting for diners. Australian chef Peter Orr's approach to the menu brings back the traditional entree-plat-dessert format, which has been well-received by locals, especially during lunchtime. The dishes feature familiar French classics like rabbit and pork terrine and Jerusalem artichoke soup prepared with a unique twist.
We had our first and last dinner in Paris at this unique restaurant, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the entire experience felt like a true Parisian moment. It’s incredible value for the quality, and while I’d highly recommend booking ahead, we were lucky enough to be seated both times just by walking in. The service was absolutely lovely—welcoming, attentive, and genuine. The steak is an absolute must, and the escargots and duck leg were unforgettable. When I return to Paris, this will be my very first stop.

It was my second visit after 6 years and I was glad I made a reservation. As I was alone, I sat at the counter which was lovely anyway. I had the Smoked Herring, the Lamb Chops and Crème Brûlée as dessert. All so good! Definitely will come back, but recommend you reserve in advance.
Sarah S — Google review
I am sad to write this review. My husband and I came here after being recommended by a friend, we were unfortunately disappointed. The ribeye steaks we ordered were the toughest I have ever had, and completely unseasoned. The green beans were extremely over cooked, and the “salad” was just five or six pieces of lettuce with a spoon of dressing thrown on top. Worst of all, was the service. Our first server was exceedingly rude, and was clearly irritated when we asked for his recommendations. Notably, the steaks, which we ordered medium-rare both came out blue rare (cold to the touch in the centre). When we brought this up to a different waitress, we were treated like we had no idea what medium rare was (see the photo attached) and she insisted this was “french medium rare”. Zero apologies. Offered to re-cook the steak, but having seen previous reviews about bad experiences with this, we declined. We aren’t confrontational people, we didn’t want to cause a scene or make the people around us uncomfortable by arguing with the staff and voicing how we felt, so we just decided to let it go. The way the staff spoke to us also made us feel less comfortable voicing our concerns. At the end when asked if the food was good as we paid the bill, we gently and politely mentioned again that the steak wasn’t cooked the way we had liked, and we were quickly spoken down to saying that we essentially had no idea what we were talking about and that it was “french medium rare”. Blatant gaslighting. Again, no kindness, or warmth. Only a terse and accusing comment from her saying “well if you didn’t like it you should have asked for it to be cooked again”. It doesn’t really make you feel great as a customer to have the blame shifted to you for the mistake of the restaurant. I understand things happen in a busy kitchen, and I appreciate the offer to have the steak re-cooked, and I acknowledge that it was our choice to decline this. Even if the steak had been re-cooked perfectly, the part that made this experience negative was really the way we were treated by our server. We were made to feel ignorant and small when all we did was to point out that our food wasn’t made the way we asked. If any kind of accountability and retribution for the steak had been offered, or at the very least if the staff had been warm, and kind, I would not have felt the need to leave this review. But here we are. Reading other reviews, we are clearly not the only ones who have had this experience. I hope the staff and owners can take reviews like this and the other similar ones seriously, for the sake of future patrons. Unfortunately, my recommendation based on this experience is to not spend your time and money here. Paris has many beautiful restaurants with great food and warm, genuine service. Based on our experience, Robert et Louise is not one of them.

A lovely cosy French restaurant - great hospitality, and the steaks, paired with Beaujolais red wine...delicious. I had T-bone and my friend had ribeye which came with 2 sides from choices salad, potato and green beans. Does get busy so reservation is recommended.

Fantastic Meal at Robert et Louise! The escargot was rich and perfectly done. The T-bone steak was juicy with a great char, paired nicely with sautéed potatoes and fresh greens. Cozy spot, great service, and amazing food. Definitely worth it!

Hands down the best steakhouse I’ve been to in Paris. The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the highlight is that they cook the steaks right in the fireplace, which gives the meat a subtle wood smoked flavor that’s incredible. We shared an assortment of cheeses to start and then went for the côte de bœuf for two. I finished with a mousse au chocolat. Recommend x 100!!
Daniel V — Google review
What a beautiful experience. You definitely want reservations for this amazing little place, where you are greeted at the door by the owner and are taken care of by fantastic servers who clearly love their job. You can watch the chefs cook the giant slabs of meat on the open fireplace. The potatoes are like butter. They serve table side salt and mustard and of course, bread. From beginning to end, this was a top notch evening and we would recommend to anyone visiting Paris
Christi D — Google review
The place looks great when you first enter it. With the wooden fire grill, things looks promising. We had the duck breast, medium for the kids and cote de beuf as mains and fresh sausage, escargotes and fois gras terrine as starters. The dick was a bit well done, but not kitchen fault, but meat was average. Them the medium rare berf. Was perfect grilled, but had not much flavor. Had to ask for bernaise sauce to balance the meat.

Nestled in the vibrant Marais district, Le Café des Musées is a delightful bistro that transports you back to the charm of 1930s Paris with its stunning Art Deco stained glass and inviting open kitchen. Established in 1924, this beloved eatery serves up classic French cuisine made from fresh, local ingredients that change daily. Indulge in hearty dishes like beef bourguignon or foie gras while enjoying a meal at one of their sidewalk tables or within the bright dining room.
Went there to try their famous Beef Bourguignon. Were seated on the ground floor of the Cafe. Found that they included Beef Bourguignon into their lunch sets and happily saved a few bucks while having their desserts. From the drinks menu we picked small bottles of water, but the beautiful waitress, who speaks perfectly fluent English, offered us the more budget option of a big bottle of water to share instead. You know the Cafe is definitely not a tourist trap when they don't just take easy money from foreign visitors. The meat is tender and matches perfectly with creamy mash potatoes. The serving size is just right to save a little space for dessert, and the creme caramel is the perfect ending to the meal. Warm service, great price, hearty food. Would recommend to anyone interested.

Outstanding in every facet. The servers were attentive and made our meal easy (we don’t speak French.) Delicious classic food at reasonable prices. A delightful experience.

Delicious Beef Bourguignon— beautifully served in a Staub pot to keep it warm. The food was divine, the service was mostly good and polite. I think the only problem was when we asked for butter with the bread (but that was our faux pas — even though the butter is delicious)

Based upon recommendations from Les Frenchies YouTube video, we decided to try Cafe des Musees. It certainly didn’t disappoint! We had the snails in mushrooms (delicious!), Beef Bourguignon (true comfort food!) and desserts. It was a great evening and we can’t wait to come back with friends!

The menu features French classics like frisee aux lardons with a poached egg and entrecote steak with bearnaise sauce.

We stayed 3 weeks in Paris, just about a 5 minute walk from this restaurant…and ate dinner there FIVE times!!! All of the restaurant staff are welcoming and accommodating, but we have to give special recognition to Morgon who is one of our favorite servers in all of France. This is a Les Routers restaurant…dedicated to providing classic French dishes, well prepared, and at a fair price. They do that, perfectly, every day…simple as that. Now, if you know what’s best for you…you’ll order the farsi (stuffed cabbage)…and have a Babà au Rhum for dessert. In addition to their standard menu, they always have some daily specials that never disappoint. This place is a neighborhood gem, and you are going to be very happy that you discovered it…and you will come back…or, unfortunately, wish that you had. As for us, we’re happy because we got to eat there FIVE times. Sure wish we were still just around the corner… We miss that classic French cuisine…and the lovely Morgon. As for you…GO! ENJOY!

We had a wonderful family dinner, 4 adults. Excellent wine, exquisite food and very friendly staff. Thank you for making this evening special for us.

I don’t really get the hype… eggs were just eggs with mayonnaise, beans were just cooked beans with olive oil with lemon (the olive oil was really good tho). The meat… sinewy, stringy and tough. Hard to cut, hard to chew on. The fish quenelle I’ve never tried before so not sure how it should taste. We left half of the food and didn’t dare to try the dessert. The best about this lunch was the baguette and batter. The place was very cozy with cute paper tablecloth and Disney mustard jars. It seems to be popular among French people so maybe we were unlucky, but this wasn’t a great culinary experience that we expected after reading all the reviews.

Very solid dining experience. Having said that, the steak was good but not superb. For the price, I have had better steak. But..the food was good. The appetizer, sides and dessert were all top notch. The service was great. And it's a comfortable place to have dinner. The price it just a little much for what you get.

A wonderful dinner at Clover Grill, deservedly part of the World’s 101 Best Steakhouses. I started with the Terrine de foie gras de canard des Landes grillé, which was rich, smooth, and beautifully prepared. For the main course, the Filet de bœuf with sauce Béarnaise was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, accompanied by crispy pommes allumettes and épinards au beurre noisette… classic sides done just right. To finish, the Ananas à la broche Vanille Piment with citronnelle ice cream was both refreshing and surprising, a perfect ending to the meal. Lovely dinner, friendly service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to return. A great Paris address for steak lovers.

Be very very careful when ordering your cut of meat. I would highly suggest asking how many grams the total piece of meat is (with the bone in), and then do the math. Unfortunately I learned the hard way. The creekstone prime angus came out to 289 euro / $340 USD. When the bill came my jaw was suddenly on the floor. If you have been to the top steakhouses across the country in the US, you will never find piece of meat with that price tag for the amount given. The picture of the meat below was $340, and therefore I got taken to the cleaners, so I am trying to prevent this from happening to anyone else. The food was great, but please do the math before ordering…

What a gem . The dinner we enjoyed in Clover Grill was one of the most enjoyable meals we had in Paris . The starter was a bang up Bone Marrow served with warm delicious bread . We followed it with a steak for two that was cooked to perfection, both of us are fanatical about steaks , it couldn’t have been better. Cocktails were excellent as well . Our next trip to Paris will definitely include a meal at Clover Grill . Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Clover Grill is a restaurant in Paris that specializes in grilled meat. The place has a colorful wall with paintings and an open kitchen at the back. There is also a large aging cabinet with different cuts of meat, which are aging. The wine list is extensive and offers a variety of choices. I ordered the bavette as the main course, which came with a small portion of bearnaise sauce that I had to share. The meat was tender and juicy. The price was quite high for what I got, and I did not feel very impressed by the experience. The service was friendly and welcoming, though.

If you're in the mood for some Brazilian BBQ, then head to BRUTOS. This stylish restaurant has exposed brick walls, and the food is delicious - from their juicy lamb kebab to their decadent chocolate profiterole. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a family gathering. Reservations are always recommended - but don't wait too long!
Great food, and great service. All dishes ordered were delicious! Service was commendable. There was an issue with one of our dishes and our server and chef were very apologetic replacing it and removing the charge as well as shaving black truffle on top! The restaurant has a really cosy atmosphere as well.

This is our favorite restaurant during our stay in Paris. Everything we ordered was amazing! For starters, we had the langoustines and rabbit terrine—both well flavored and delicious. As for our main course we had the pork loin and 45 day dry-aged ribeye. The meats were so juicy, tender, and well seasoned. We can’t stop thinking about that steak! The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely ensured we had a good experience. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Sensational place for dinner. For the price, doubt you’ll find a more delicious meal paired with a spectacular wine selection at multiple price points. The service is excellent — even for a non-French/English speaker like myself; great job by the staff at every step of the meal! We got the steak and fish for mains — both cooked to perfection. If they have truffle fries, get them!

Everything at Brutos was simply amazing! The dishes were full of flavor, the service was spot-on, and the whole atmosphere was warm and inviting. Huge compliments to the chefs. The attention to detail was clear in every bite. Worth stopping by if you’re in the area!

Brutos was such a lovely experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself is stylish and inviting, with a great vibe both inside and out. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our meal. We were disappointed to learn that their “world-famous” roast chicken is only served on Sundays — something that would be helpful to make clearer. That aside, we shared a ribeye with a bottle of rosé wine, and it was delicious: fresh, hot, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The desserts were truly outstanding — we haven’t stopped thinking about them since! The overall experience was wonderful, but a couple of small critiques: the restaurant is located on a very lively road, so sitting outside can be quite noisy with children playing and nearby bar chatter (worth noting if you’re seeking something more intimate). Also, when I asked for ketchup with my steak and fries, the waiter said they don’t serve it as it offends their chef. While I found that stance a bit unnecessary — especially for a restaurant that serves meat and fries — I will say the gravy that came with the ribeye was excellent, and I didn’t miss the ketchup in the end. Still, when spending good money, I believe guests should be free to enjoy their food the way they prefer. Overall, a genuinely enjoyable dining experience that I would definitely recommend and happily return to.

A Sunday lunch classic in France is roast chicken. I recommend to have this experience once at BRUTOS any day or night of the week where meat and vegetables meet the real fire. We had perfectly cooked asparagus with perfectly balanced lamb kebab and spicy yogurt sauce that balanced it perfectly. Then the roast chicken and french fries completed the show, super well cooked and delicious. We finished with chocolate profiterole that had a great hand-made pastry with very good quality ice cream and chocolate. The attention to service and details were really perfect, worth another lunch or dinner very soon. Reservation is required.

The staff were warm and friendly and attentive & they were happy to recommend wine pairings with different courses which complimented the food fantastically If you come to Paris and you want a different food experience to traditional French cuisine with real flavour this is definitely the place to try As price point goes it’s within reach of most tourists especially those who are willing to pay for the ridiculously priced food in the main areas of the city (near monuments) This is a real Parisian experience.

"Aux Tonneaux des Halles" is a charming French restaurant offering reasonably priced, delicious meals. The Sunday lunch service provides a lively atmosphere with old French songs playing, while the Tuesday dinner can be a bit noisy. The friendly staff adds to the enjoyable dining experience. Visited in 2012 and had the steak frites of a lifetime, returned this week and was very disappointed. They have clearly changed ownership. It’s good for happy hour, but not for dinner. The steak was served cold, and returned to me after a minute or two in the microwave. The frites were soggy, and the sauce was all pepper heat but no flavor. Service was friendly and responsive, but this is no longer the classic it was.

Disappointing meal! Initially I thought this place was great because it was busy, happy hour lasts until 11pm and the waitress was super charismatic. Once we had sat down and ordered food she did not give a care in the world about what happened next. Her main interest was to pawn you in, getting you to order and taking your money. She spent more time on a cigarette break than looking after customers. If the food had been good it would be ok-ish but this was not the case. The food was a let down and very poorly cooked. We ordered a steak which costs 55€ for 2. You would expect the cut and cook to be good. It was not. Some parts were practically raw and others were beyond well done. The cut was awful, it was super fatty and full of fascia- hardly any meat to eat. We sent it back to the kitchen to have it cooked again. The waitress did not question it and brought it back no questions asked. When we finished and paid, which took forever because no staff was to be found, she finally asked how our meal was. I told her it was not nice and that the meat was a big let down. Rather than taking criticism and apologising, she rebutted that their meat is one of the best around. I wouldn't bother coming here for the meat. Money grabbing business unfortunately.

Liked the food, took the thai burger with a paint of beer. The meat was so tender and its sauce was very good, sometimes spicy. I asked to replace the salad for some veggies and the waitress didnt give me fries so I had to pay extra fries. The service was so slow even tho we were the only table in the terrace, took like 40 mins to get served and the price was totally crazy. 30 Euros for a paint and a burger + fries. I accept Paris can overcharge for its menus but this is disrespectful. Edit: Came again Went for drinks and the waitress was friendly. The cocktails were alright, went for the moscow mule and it was such a good decision. Also had a paint and had such a good time with friends

Can't recommend the croissant enough. The hot chocolate was delightful and wasn't too sickening. I recommend to order it with the creme. The french butter was tasty too. Next time I would love to try the French onion soup and cafe de flore terrine. Overall 10/10 and highly recommend when looking for an authentic French cafe experience in Paris.

This has to be one of the most famous cafés in Paris, it’s been featured in countless movies and stories! I just had to visit while I was in the city, and it was absolutely worth it. It’s always super busy (clearly I wasn’t the only one with the same idea), so I waited about half an hour in line. But once seated, I had the best onion soup of my life! I also tried the foie gras, which came in a much larger portion than expected, definitely something to share with at least three people. The service was handsome…wait…I mean friendly.

Very very busy cafe. A bit of a wait for food and drink, but I was determined to experience because of its cultural significance. Mixed drinks were creative and delicious! However I saw many patrons order the hot chocolate and I was a bit remorseful I had not gone that route. Must see for any “lost generation” aficionados. Timeless, elegant. In the corner by the stairs, there is a delightful little dollhouse recreation of the cafe with small pictures of its famous guests, Hemingway, Fitzgerald. I can easily see how this would invite conversation and creativity. And I just love Paris. A win win!

A Parisian Classic Worth Experiencing! Café de Flore is the quintessential Parisian café — elegant, historic, and full of charm. Sitting on the terrace with a coffee or hot chocolate while watching the world go by feels like stepping into a timeless Paris postcard. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast with perfectly flaky croissants, delicious omelets, and rich café crème. The service was attentive and professional, even with the café’s lively atmosphere. It’s easy to see why Café de Flore remains a Paris institution — a place where history, ambiance, and great food come together beautifully. Don’t miss it if you want to experience authentic Parisian café culture at its best!

Café de Flore is one of Paris’s most iconic historic cafés, offering a quintessentially Parisian atmosphere filled with charm and character. Known for its classic décor, sidewalk seating, and lively buzz, it’s the perfect place to soak in the city’s café culture. The menu features traditional French dishes, delicious pastries, and rich coffee — all served with that unmistakable Parisian flair. While it remains a must-visit spot for its heritage and ambiance, it can get quite busy and touristic, especially during peak hours, so visiting early or off-peak is recommended.

I definitely enjoyed the bites and sops at this iconic cafe. we sat inside to escape the summer heat. I ordered tea and Carpaccio which were both delicious. Supersingly the best thing on their menu was their chips. Yes chips, so good I had to ask for seconds. The server was friendly and kept checking on our table while managing busy tables. Many places are touristy, but the food and services were great.

Le Cinq is a luxurious dining experience located within the elegant Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. The restaurant offers creatively plated French dishes in a richly decorated, Regency-style dining room with a wine cellar. Guests can indulge in the exquisite nine-course Epicurean Escape menu crafted by renowned chef Christian Le Squer, who skillfully accommodates gluten-free dietary preferences.
We came to Le Cinq on Saturday, August 9th for our last dinner prior to leaving Paris. It was without the doubt, the most luxurious, most expensive meal we have ever had. The service team was incredibly attentive. Food was as expected superb and befitting of a Michelin three-star restaurant. Decors were grand and splendid. Thank you for making the last day of our Paris stay so enjoyable and memorable. We will be back!!

We dined at Le Cinq for our anniversary in February 2024, and it remains one of the most memorable meals we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, service was flawless — warm, attentive, and perfectly paced without ever feeling stiff. The team even surprised us with a thoughtful anniversary gesture, which made the evening extra special. The wine pairings were outstanding, each glass carefully chosen to complement the food without overwhelming it. The dishes themselves were beautifully executed, refined, and deeply satisfying — from the bread trolley (impossible to resist) through to the magnificent dessert trolley. I only wished I had more space to enjoy more of it all. Yes, dining here is undeniably expensive, but the overall experience — the precision of the cooking, the grace of the service, and the atmosphere of celebration — made it worth every cent. Le Cinq is fine dining at its best: not just a meal, but a memory.

I had an amazing meal at Le Cinq. I opted for a la cart since I was not that hungry. I had the prawns, sea bass, and duck. Everything was amazing, but the prawns were my favorite. They threw in complementary small bites and desserts as in usual Michelin-restaurant fashion. They also gave me some small gifts which were very sweet and personable. The space is gorgeous. The wine list is yummy.

We are blessed and travel extensively and exclusively. We have been to Michelin Star restaurants previously, but none compare to the Le Cinq experience. Every single aspect of this 5 hour experience was perfect. From the by-name greeting (we were also hotel guests), to every associate that touched us…perfect. The ambiance, service, Somms, cuisine, and special touches were world-class. Nothing I can write here will do the experience justice. It was amazing. I will post a number of pictures with this. Take a look at the attention to detail. The next time that you are in Paris, spoil yourself and have dinner here. Thanks to everyone at Le Cinq that made our evening (my wife’s birthday) so memorable. We have been to Paris many times. Staying at The Four Seasons Paris, and eating at Le Cinq is enough reason to visit Paris again. We will!

Truly a once in a lifetime service. 28 years with a Michelin star. 3 stars for the last 11 years. The service was like something out of a movie. Staff was engaging and so polished. Food was on a level I have not experienced in my life. Wine pairing was perfect. This is by far one of the most expensive meals I have had, and worth every penny. Don't go to Paris and miss Le Cinq. It's perfect.

An unforgettable dining experience at the three-Michelin-star Le Cinq, located inside the Four Seasons George V. The room is elegant and spacious, with soft lighting, gold-toned accents, and generously spaced tables — ideal for a special occasion or a relaxed but refined meal. Service is flawless: welcoming, discreet, and never rushed. They kindly allowed photography, as long as it didn’t disturb other guests — a thoughtful balance we appreciated. We chose à la carte but were still treated to a full culinary experience — bread selection, amuse-bouches, and surprises between courses. Highlights included foie gras presented ‘like a pebble’, delicate crab and asparagus starters, and mains like pigeon and blue lobster, all beautifully presented. Our dinner for two came to just over €1,000, including wine and extras. It’s a high-end price, but the overall experience — from food to service — felt well worth it. Tips: Book well in advance. Dress smartly — this is a formal setting, but not stiff. Take your time — the meal unfolds with grace and generosity. If you're looking for a truly special dinner in Paris, Le Cinq delivers on every level.

Overall a great experience from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly without it seeming forced. They did well to bring out the dishes in a timely manner. The food itself was delicious, although there were only a few that stood out as exceptional. This was one of the few 3-star Michelin restaurants that would accommodate a gluten allergy.

Le Saint Regis is a vibrant establishment in Paris that offers traditional French dishes like steak, pancakes, and foie gras. Situated on Ile Saint-Louis, just south of Le Marais, it is highly recommended for visitors seeking an enjoyable time in the city. The café serves delicious food at reasonable prices and boasts an appealing ambiance that is perfect for capturing Instagram-worthy moments.
We actually found this with ChatGPT. We asked for something authentic, friendly to child’s and tourists, and not just another tourist trap, and we were recommended this, and we didn’t regret. The food was good, it’s such a cozy place, and our waiter Lancelot was just great. He got us to feel special despite we’re just some danish tourist among thousands of others. Thanks for that. We went two times, the last visit was our kids choice, they just loved the Salmon. Do we recommend it, YES!
Carsten J — Google review
This Ile Saint-Louis gem was recommended to us for their great bistro food and the recommendations were spot on. The place is very French bistro with plenty of outside tables and a great vibe on a corner with a number of other places. The prices aren’t cheap but as they say you get what you pay for. Well, if you have seen a certain movie from Quentin T with John T and Uma T having dinner at a retro cafe named Jack Rabbit Slims, my first comment was “Is that a 28 euro burger on the menu? It’s got meat, bacon, and cheese on it?” Well I ordered it and I don’t know if that burger was worth €28 but it was a pretty “#%&$” great cheeseburger. V ordered the Croque Madam. It looked great and while I didn’t try it, she said it was the best sandwich she had ever had. While she did offer me a bite, I was mid-burger so missed out. She is a great judge so I’d have to say it must be really really good. The bar and drink menu is great and they have lots of non-alcoholic choices as well which we like so it was a big win all around. And for dessert, we had a caramel eclair which was as good as you would find in any patisserie. Overall great night and great dinner. Total meal with drinks was about €100 but not that bad considering it’s Paris and you’re a stone’s throw from Notre Dame. Enjoy!

Came here straight from the airport and this was our first meal in Paris. Our 6 month old was feeling jet lagged and a little unhappy during our meal and waitstaff was so accommodating and sweet to us. Food was DELICIOUS! Vibes were great! Service was FAST and got the check really quick when requested. They also found us a seat where I could bring our small stroller out from the rain as well which was so kind. 5 star experience for sure.

Came here for their hot chocolate and it was worth it! It was brought to my table quickly. Just the perfect level of sweetness and thickness, complemented by the cream. The host told me that technically this is the Viennese hot chocolate because it comes with the fresh whipped cream. The staff were friendly and gave me a full table seat even though I just wanted the hot chocolate and was by myself. They never made me feel rushed.

We had an amazing meal at The Saint Regis. The French onion soup was soooo nice, and I really cannot stress this, it was absolutely the best soup I've ever had. I would go back to Paris just to eat at this restaurant! Staff were lovely and friendly (spoke English, though we do try to speak French). Prices were not bad either. Lovely setting. Couldn't have asked for more on a hot summers evening.

Went their quite early as I was going for an early morning walk. I walked in at about 7:45, and I believe their open time was 7:30. They didn’t have any breakfast / eggs available so they asked me to wait 1 hour or they could provide me a croissant. Lady seemed a little frustrated as I didn’t want a coffee straight away and she waved her arms around like I did something wrong. I got an espresso which was a little below average and a croissant which was beautiful. 3 stars has been given due to the fact they had no eggs, or breakfast available according to their open time, coffee was sub par, and the waving of the arms from the lady who served me.

L'Entrecôte de Paris is a fine steakhouse with beautiful art nouveau mirrors and framed Mucha posters. The food is delicious, the service quick and friendly, and the tables are small but comfortable. It's perfect for a romantic dinner or an intimate occasion.
Although I had to wait in line for about 45 minutes, it was absolutely worth it. The food was incredible—perfectly cooked steak, crispy golden frites, and that famous secret sauce that lives up to the hype. Just when I thought I was done, the server came by and generously refilled my plate with more steak, fries, and sauce—an unexpected and very welcome surprise. some people might find this touristy cause it's near champ-elysee and it's quite viral everywhere! but for me this is almost a comfort food <3 i think the sauce and salad is what makes it special, moreover the taste of the entrecote is also good something that i might crave in some random day! Food was amazing but what wasn’t was our waiter’s attitude and treatment. He was very disrespectful, made a rude comment when my boyfriend ordered just tap water, even though I did order a drink besides “just tap water”, we were SO excited about the fries refill but our waiter barely even looked at our table, not even when he wasn’t busy, he just decided to ignore us pretty much all night, so we had only one refill after 15 minutes of waiting for him to notice us to order, just to wait for our refill even more than 20 minutes more to get to our table, beside we where even uncomfortable to order cause he was so rude. When we paid to leave he didn’t even say goodbye to us, just tossed the ticket and left. We were SHOCKED to receive such treatment, being polite and educated cost €0. I was so excited about this experience and if our waiter wasn’t that rude we would’ve had a BLAST cause food was really good. so pretty sad about my experience. Also my salad came with an extra bug surprise

We came here at around 1pm for lunch and were seated straight away. We saw people queuing once we were sat but it moved very quickly and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Crêperie Little Breizh offers a diverse selection of galettes and crêpes, both savory and sweet, served in a charming setting with wood beams and raw stone walls. Known for its authentic Breton galettes made with buckwheat flour, the restaurant has gained popularity in Paris and even expanded to Tokyo. The menu features traditional options like ham, egg, and Comte as well as innovative combinations with Japanese influences such as wakame or shiitake mushrooms.
This was such a special and fun experience for us. The service was incredible and so friendly. The sweet chef making the crepes was so kind to us and chatted with us while he made the most delicious food we had in Paris. I had the bacon and cheese crepe and my husband had the sausage crepe. The dessert crepe was excellent also with caramelized apples and ice cream. This is an absolutely do not miss while in Paris.

Came by for a quick lunch. It was pretty busy around 12:30pm, but we were able to grab a table for 2. One of us ended up getting the Menu Gourmand and we also ordered a house special crepe (a la carte) for the second. Menu Gourmand comes with a crepe with protein (I got the trout), a cup of cider or apple juice (we shared this), and a dessert crepe (also shared). The second crepe was the sardine crepe with the addition of cheese. The food and service were great. Highly recommend.

I'm never normally fussed by crepes when in France, but this place may have changed my mind. I had the excellent value set menu. My friend and I discovered Crêperie Little Breizh just as we were feeling a little hungry. We were going to find a crêperie and this one came into view. It’s a small room and is very popular so we had to wait a little while- but that gave us time to look through the menu. The crêpes are delicious, they are made from the Breton style buckweat batter and are perfectly thin with a little crispness on the outside. I had spinach, cheese & egg- the yolk was perfectly runny & my friend had the classic ham & cheese with mushrooms cooked in cream- she really enjoyed it. Service is quietly friendly, the place has a really lovely, calm atmosphere. Everyone knows what their job is so they do it well & without stress. The only difficult part is deciding whether to have a sweet or a savoury crêpe- your appetite may not allow you to have both! An excellent place to stop for rest and sustenance whether shopping or sightseeing

Pavyllon Paris - Yannick Alléno is a relaxed take on French fine dining, where the chef's experimental approach blends Japanese techniques and Italian ingredients. The restaurant offers a more affordable option compared to L'Abysse, with cushioned chairs, exquisite glassware, and counter seating to witness the kitchen theatrics. It's an indulgent way to conclude a morning at Petit Palais' latest exhibition.
The experience was great, starting with the booking of the table to the moment we left the place. We were welcomed and we were able to sit at the counter, very close to the kitchen. Our three years old son was able to watch everything. The bread with the French butter was already great, followed by the rice crispy which was wonderful! All dishes were perfect, explained to us every time. 2 adult and one child meal (pasta), no alcoholic beverages, total of 285€.

Beautiful setting and kind, professional service. Ordered the set menu Camps Élysées for 145 euros per person. I was disappointed by the choice of main dish — pigeon or cod. I had the pigeon which felt undercooked for my taste. The first course was boiled eggs with tuna and roe. It was good, but the sauce was too mayonnaise-y and dominant. The second course was also eggs— an egg souffle with Conte cheese in a green sauce flavored with eel. Why two egg courses?!? And, it was way too salty. Most disappointing was the dessert which was a dry brioche with apricots and ice cream. So unimaginative! The best part of the meal were the chocolates offered at the end. I expected more culinary innovation and finesse at this price point. That said, it was a truly beautiful setting and a refined experience.

We ordered the Champ Elysee menu 145EUR with the wine pairing 89EUR which I think is great value for where you’re dining! (Many Michelin stars under one roof). Service is impeccable, the soufflé I noticed wasn’t to everyone’s taste but we found the pigeon and cod to be absolutely stunning. Dessert also exceeded our expectations.

Wonderful experience. Service was great - my wife wanted tea and they went downstairs to their 2 michelin star japanese restaurant and got the menu from there which I thought was cute. This restaurant is listed as creative on the michelin guide website but I wasn't particularly blow away by the creativity but the food was good. My favorite was the seasonal ballad and the sturgeon brioche. 415euro for the course in the picture. I thought it was worth going back.

I wish I can give it minus Michelin stars ⭐️ Deeply Disappointed — How Did This Place Get a Michelin Star? I rarely ever leave reviews, but this experience was so unexpectedly bad that I felt compelled to write one. I’ve dined at many Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, and this was, without a doubt, the worst. Every dish was either overly salty, completely bland, or wildly unbalanced. The only thing remotely decent was a small side dish of sautéed mushrooms — and that says everything. How can the simplest side be the only item that tastes balanced in a Michelin-rated restaurant? And the wine… I couldn’t believe it. It tasted exactly like the $3 boxed wine sold at Trader Joe’s. Even if the bottle wasn’t expensive, a Michelin restaurant should never serve or pair something of that quality. My best friend runs a wine import business, and I know how much care real sommeliers take in curating good selections. Even a $40 bottle, when chosen properly, can elevate a meal. But this? It was embarrassing. Overall, this was a complete disappointment — salty, flat, and lacking any harmony or thought. I left wondering how this restaurant ever earned (or still keeps) its Michelin star. It’s a reminder that not all Michelin places are worth the hype. A strange and unpleasant experience in Paris — one I won’t forget, but for all the wrong reasons.

Food was good. Nothing to complain about. You can tell the items were of good quality and everything was executed well. My wife and I got the two different tasting menus and it was all good. The Atmosphere is great. Loved the building and dining area. Service left something to be desired though. They were very nice but we felt like we were forgotten about between several courses. A well-run restaurant. I visited this restaurant with my partner and couldn’t imagine a better place for a fun date. Outstanding food with great flavor combinations that spark conversation and make you wanting more. My partner had a tartar which was great, and I had scallops which were memorable. The sweetbread is absolutely phenomenal. I honestly did not expect this level of complexity in a dish like this. We absolutely loved it. Service was great and polite. The only downside is that you sit quite close to people and when they turn out to be American all you hear is their scream and obnoxious laugh - but appear from that - this place is great. Bill came to around €120. I felt Okay paying this much for an experience I had. Would go again.

We had great time at Le Servan. Both food and service were really good. Les Fines Lames is a modern steakhouse located in the Monmartre area of North Paris. Sides like veggies and French fries are highly recommended, along with their delicious dipping sauces. Visitors praise the great service and recommend trying the pepper sauce.
The food was exceptional! A last minute find and it was like we hit gold. When you travel it can be a challenge to pick out a place and be confident that it will satisfy all members of your group. After a week of searching, false hopes, and overpriced let downs, Les Fines Lames was nothing short of redemption. On our last evening in Paris, eager for a meal that would have us talking for years to come, the hunt was on. However, we were late to the game and it began to feel as if the bounty had slipped out grasp. Perhaps our own undoing seeking a reservation last minute. Yet, luck was on our side. With a simple online booking service, a table of four was secured. Just around the corner from a bustling collection of restaurants that was inviting but also the epitome of a tourist trap, our dinning venue awaited. At first glance, simple and elegant, nothing too flashy. With a step inside the door, excitement started to build. Met with a warm smile and a charming unique character, it was obvious a treat was in store. A simple but sophisticated menu made ordering a breeze. A perfect mix of starters brought delight to our eyes. The mains could only be on thing, steak, a t-bone, a rare find. Cooked to perfection for each request - exquisite. Coupled with wines which paired beyond any kinship, how could we ask for more. To finish, our palettes were cleansed with a flurry of sorbet, followed up with a digestif. If you're looking for an incredible steakhouse with amazing food and a fantastic atmosphere, look no further! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and top-notch service. The staff here is **super friendly** and made us feel right at home. The steaks were absolutely phenomenal! Cooked to perfection, juicy, and packed with flavour, every bite was pure delight. The sides were just as impressive Hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had during our visit to Paris .

Superb food and superb service in a lovely little restaurant. Well worth a visit. They can cater well for gluten free and were attentive when it came to that requirement.

Just like many, found a gem near the tourist area. I have been craving for a good piece of meat and was disappointed being turned away as we did not make reservations. Pinned with hope, we saw this high ratings on google maps and decided to give this place a try. It did not disappoint. The waiter is super friendly, patient and smiley.. you aren’t pressured and he explained well. We ordered the platter with 3 pieces of meat and a rum steak for our kids. We ordered a 50cl wine and it was great! Overall all four of us had a very good meal and enjoyed it very much. Big shout out also to their sauces and fries that accompanied the steak. One of the best that I have tried - pepper and cheese sauce! Really nothing to fault and leaving this comment is because good things should be shared! we will be back!

Wonderful late night meal of steak and cheesecake. Small place as most in Montmartre but worth the wait.

An absolute great experience. The food was excellent, just like the personnel. We got a piece of beef that was not tender, we notified the waiter, who instantly ensured we received a new piece of meet + fries, free of charge. Value for money, for sure. Also on the wine card. A great restaurant.

Wonderful meal. Food and service were both top tier. The pichana steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. The staff were welcoming and warm and made sure we had everything we needed. We will be back for sure next time we are in Paris. Thank you!

Lively neighborhood spot with quality meats. Service was very friendly and attentive. Positive vibes. Great ambiance with cool lighting and unique knife holders built into the table. Enjoyed two types of steak, sides, bone marrow, cheese and chocolate cake. All fabulous. They offer weighted steak also which I would try on a return visit. Everything was cooked perfectly with wonderful flavor

Le Train Bleu is a lavish dining spot located on the first floor of Gare de Lyon, established in 1901 to match the prestige of the trains passing through. The iconic brasserie boasts traditional decor and is listed as a historic monument. With its festive menu curated by double Michelin-starred chef Michel Rostang, it offers classic French dishes like Dauphine ravioli and rum baba with homemade punch.
There really is nothing like it. Located at the Gare de Lyon train station this turn of the century restaurant is first class. Service is impeccable, cuisine is outstanding no matter what you choose. And the atmosphere is both electric as well as culturally traditional. The ceiling and walls are ornate with painted murals. Reminded me of Florence or Rome. This high class eatery is bustling with activity and people coming and going. Thus it tends to be noisy but honestly you dont care because its all part of the experience. As far as dishes are concerned the roast lamb, beef bourguignon, duck pate, and desserts are done to perfection. Crepe suzette is prepared flambe style tableside, the roast lamb is carved tableside as well. Just too much to mention here but if you are in Paris this is a must stop even if it's for lunch.

This restaurant is located inside a large train station. The interior has a unique style that's great for photos, although it does feel a bit dated. The menu actually offers a wide variety of choices. The food is delicious, and the service is very fast, making it perfect for those who need to catch a train. The prices are a bit higher than restaurants in the city center, which is understandable given the location and the lack of other good non-fast food options nearby. If you're looking for a proper meal with plenty of variety while in a hurry, this is a solid choice.

Category: Fine Dining. Originally opened in 1901 as the Buffet de Gare in the Gare de Lyon train station, this stunning Beaux Arts-ish restaurant was designed to complement the Paris Universal Exposition. Everything you might imagine Turn of the Century (19th to 20th) Paris to be like is encapsulated in this opulent dining salon. The only thing missing is accordion music, but there’s something better (read on). Grand ornate archways soar to higher, wider archways, which lead the eye to the ceiling’s multiple gold cartouche. The lower arches frame hallways linking one dining room to the next. The wider archways and cartouche frame 41 murals depicting life in the Belle Epoque. The huge multi-globe chandeliers illuminate the rooms with hundreds of points of light, which were impressive during our lunchtime visit and are surely even more so at night. Our large-enough-for-four white tableclothed table had a leather banquette for Sarah on one side and a chair for me on the other. Most cool were the brass coat and hat racks above the banquettes and the brass luggage racks, which reminded me of similar racks above the seats on vintage railroads we have ridden. Excellent and expert service was provided by an army of tuxedoed waiters during an extremely busy lunch service. We ordered the beef tartare, which was prepared tableside for our pleasure. Excellent and generous. I ordered the Skate Wing Grenobloise (Aile de Raie), which was prepared as a pave, which I found disappointing for two reasons: 1. the menu didn’t warn that it was not the classic preparation and 2. the classic preparation would have been better (see my YouTube lesson on making this classic dish). I suggest either preparing it classically and maybe even tableside, or changing the menu to specify the pave preparation. Despite my disappointment, I give the food five stars because all of the food on the nearby tables looked great, including the roast leg of lamb (Gigot d’Agneau), which was carved at the next table from a trolley. We didn’t order dessert but I recommend the tableside Crepe Suzette or the incredible cheese selection, which we enjoyed vicariously as they were prepared and served very nearby. We ordered an excellent Chinon (Cab Franc) by the glass and we were happy to see a sufficient number of economically priced bottles (we don’t like to spend much money on restaurant wine), from which we would have chosen if we had not just completed about 15 hours of air travel. And by the way, if you bring kids, don’t expect a typical U.S. kids menu. French kids or French-kid Wannabes can choose between skate wing, seared scallops, or beef tartare, in child-sized portions of course. I love it. Everything about this experience was exceptional but one highlight stood out: shortly after our wine was delivered a tall tuxedoed server walked into the center of the dining room, rang a little bell, welcomed everyone, then belted out a beautiful a capella rendition of La Vie en Rose in a booming voice. Some people sang along. Everyone applauded. We’ll be back. YouTube’s Chef’s Apprentice

It is an upscale place in a train station, quite surprising for me. They also have a bar and some side tables which it seems do not require reservation and can be used by real travellers. I ate the PATÉ EN CROUTE as apetiser, it lacked salt, I mean really no salt what so ever and the crust was a bit uncooked. For main course the COCOTTE PINTADE which is some kind of stew with 2 pieces of guinea fowl breast (the brest was also unsalted) pretty tasty as a whole. We also had octopus and fish which were pretty good, but the potato puree, altough it had plenty of butter, was unsalted too. What they lacked in salt, they made up at desert... they left us the rum bottle for the baba au rhum... plenty of rum... The toilets were not up to the standard of the location, but usable. Overall a very nice place with wonderful service at the table, I gave them 4* only because they misplaced a jacket, it is totally worth a visit and 100 euro pp.

It's a stunning restaurant and a must do at least once. So beautiful. I've had much better food at my local french restaurant in Florida.. The leg of lamb was tough, the potatoes au gratin were boring, and the pineapple tart, not great. But the experience was worth it. I had a beautiful glass of Chablis that cost 27.00. That was not the price on the menu. The singing maitre'd was a lovely surprise. We ladies really enjoyed ourselves and it was a treat to experience this beautiful, historic restaurant.

We made our reservation for this restaurant 3 months before leaving Australia to go on our trip to Europe. Going to this restaurant was our special treat and we were looking forward to it. The location was surprising – it is upstairs, inside a very large railway station. The ceiling and ambience were stunning. We ate roast lamb for mains and it was carved at our table and served with roasted garlic and gravy and potatoes dauphinoise. It was delicious. The servings were large and there was enough potato for at least 4 people. For dessert I had the pistachio souffle with cherry sorbet and my friend had the petit fours. We both enjoyed our meals immensely. The service was great and even though the waiter did not know what a lemon, lime and bitters was, he asked me to tell him how to make it and he made it for me – he did a good job too. We really enjoyed our dinner here & would recommend it.

We had a great experience and the food was really good. Just lacking in some of the details like a dirty knife, a bent fork and under seasoned food. We loved the atmosphere once inside at the train station and the staff were lovely. We had the roast chicken, beef tartare, pate de champagne, foie gras and leg of lamb.

This was our fifth evening in Paris and the anticipation of the event far exceeded the actual event. The room is beautiful, the staff polite and professional however the food is not very good and I’m being polite. The restaurant is arranged with visual blocks like plants and patricians so you can only see about 4-5 tables around your area. Michael had the roasted veal rump and I had chicken with eggplant. We both didn’t finish half of our entrees as the food was bland and under cooked. We had no starters or dessert. We could not help but notice that the tables around us were also having the same experience as they too were not finishing their plates or asking for doggie bags. This restaurant is for visual enjoyment and it’s very beautiful, however the food does not compare to other choices in Paris. We do not recommend this restaurant sadly.

The waiters are amazing and will always offer suggestions for the best dish to order. The place is cozy and warm, with high end decor that's both stylish and clean.
Highly recommended for serious steak lovers. I had a beautiful steak at this restaurant. The steak arrived with multiple different sauces and salt which further enhanced the experience. Service was prompt but courteous. It was probably the best steak I have had in Paris 🔥🔥

The experience my husband and I had here was top tier! We had the bone marrow, followed by the all black steak, Uruguay steaky, mashedpotatoes, mixed vegetables, fries, creme burlee, and chocolate.. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium with pink middle....I enjoyed my husband's cut much better.. The mashed potatoes was one of best parts of the meal...the cream and butter used to make this dish was spectacular! The mashed potatoes is a perfect balance of cream, butter and no lumps. The server knew each part of the menu... we will definitely visit again.... Hopefully with a party three!

I recommend Atelier Carnem to anyone in search of a great steak with friendly service in a very cute and vibrant but not crowded arrondissement.

I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. Every dish felt carefully thought through – from the starters to the dessert, the flavors were rich, balanced, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that fresh, high-quality ingredients were used. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful with recommendations, making sure everything went smoothly. The atmosphere was inviting and perfect for both a casual meal and a special occasion. An unforgettable evening at a true Parisian institution! Stepping into La Coupole is like walking back in time to the glamorous Roaring Twenties. The grand Art Deco dining hall is absolutely magnificent, buzzing with an energy that is both elegant and historic. It is the quintessential Parisian brasserie experience from the moment you arrive. We dove into the menu by ordering a few classics, and each was a testament to French culinary tradition. The seafood platter was a highlight—the oysters were impeccably fresh with a clean, briny flavor, and the whelks were tender and delicious. The French onion soup was perfection in a bowl; a deeply rich, savory broth hidden beneath a glorious, bubbly cap of perfectly browned Gruyère cheese. We also savored the foie gras, which was silky and decadent, beautifully paired with a fruit compote. Even the quality of the bread and the accompanying Charentes-Poitou butter spoke volumes about their commitment to quality. For the main course, we had the pan-seared sea bass served over orzo. The skin was wonderfully crisped and offered a fantastic texture. While the fish itself was a little drier than I would have preferred, this minor point was easily overlooked when enjoyed with the incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked orzo it rested upon. Overall, the experience was absolutely 5-star. The service was professional and attentive, and the atmosphere is simply unmatched. Dining at La Coupole is a must-do for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the history, culture, and flavor of Paris.

La Fontaine de Mars is a charming and colorful bistro in Paris that has been serving classic French dishes since 1908. It gained attention when the Obamas visited, seeking an authentic dining experience. The menu features traditional favorites like steamed leeks, homemade duck confit, and roasted duckling with caramel and endives, accompanied by delicious sides such as crispy green beans and gratin dauphinois.
Absolutely delicious. Each dish tasted so good, the service was good, and you can see a bit of the Eiffel Tower from the restaurant. Made a reservation. Would definitely recommend. I am glad I came across this place on my travels.

A classic French bistro near the Eiffel Tower that focuses on Southwest French cuisine. We didn’t have a reservation, but the staff kindly found us a table right away. He was very friendly and took the time to explain the entire menu to us in detail. We ordered the duck confit and the duck breast, both were excellent. The duck breast was honestly the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked medium rare, juicy and tender with a delicious roasted honey sauce and purée. It was like the wagyu of duck, I devoured the entire plate. The confit was also cooked to perfection. A little on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it. The space is also very charming and nostalgic. I’d come back every time I’m in Paris.

La Fontaine de Mars is everything you hope for in a classic Parisian bistro: warm, welcoming, and absolutely delicious. We came without a reservation and were graciously accommodated, which already set the tone for a convivial evening. The red and white checkered tablecloths and rich dark wood décor create a cozy, timeless ambiance that feels like stepping into a beloved neighborhood institution. Our waiter was exceptional; friendly, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful about everyone's dietary needs. The starters were divine: the Blancs de poireau tièdes & ravigote d'herbes was fresh and flavorful, and the Terrine de canard, foie gras, pistache & chutney was a standout. For mains, the fricassée de poulet à la basquaise was the plat du jour and a hit at the table, while the suprême de poulet aux morilles and Pavé de saumon were beautifully prepared and comforting like a home-cooked meal elevated to perfection. Dessert was the cherry on top: we shared the île flottante, baba au rhum, and a truly unforgettable Mont Blanc fait maison; hands down one of the best I've ever had. This place hits all the right notes. Add La Fontaine de Mars to your Paris dining list…you won’t regret it. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband got the duck canard and I got the chicken with mushrooms and rice. Duck was wonderful! Chicken was good but nothing amazing. We started with the seared fois gras which was rich and decadent. For dessert we enjoyed the floating fountain which was light, sweet and different from what we usually would get. Atmosphere is quintessential Paris! Waiter was friendly and everything was explained well.

Atmosphere and decoration are nice. I don't think the food warrants the high price though. The steak was nice but the chips tasted and looked like 30 minute old McDonald chips, not so nice, duck breast was nice but no veg on the side. Staff and service was friendly. Food came out very quickly.

Nestled in the heart of Paris, Le Petit Bouillon Pharamond is a delightful destination for those seeking an authentic taste of traditional French cuisine. This charming establishment, steeped in history and adorned with Art Nouveau decor, features exquisite floral walls and elegant etched mirrors that transport diners back to a bygone era. The menu showcases a variety of plant-based dishes infused with French flair, such as roasted squash paired with lentils and refreshing green peas garnished with mint and hazelnut.
Very tasty food and generous portions! Prices are really affordable, especially for Paris. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, and everything feels convenient and welcoming. A great place to enjoy a delicious French meal without spending too much. Highly recommend!

We came here for its reputation as a classic French restaurant. The decor was quite unique, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. Confit de canard was tasty, though it seemed different from the traditional preparation I was expecting—so much so that I briefly wondered if there had been a mix-up with the order! Boeuf bourguignon was also excellent, with a subtle hint of wine complementing the tender, flavorful beef beautifully. I also love the french dessert!

It’s always packed, but the wait was fine. It’s very crowded inside but we got a table for four. There were a few item that were out for the time we visited. So we had to change our order. The food took some time but it’s not too much for the number of people the kitchen is serving. The food was good. Some items were ok. Nothing bad. Well made food, but not too spectacular. We had 4 starters and 4 mains and two desserts and 1 liter of cider, it was around 22€ per person which is fair.

The place looked fancy, but the prices were surprisingly affordable. The staff were neither overly accommodating nor rude. We tried their marrowbone, butcher’s cut, and smoked pork. The marrowbone and butcher’s cut were delicious, but the smoked pork didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I enjoyed the way it was cooked, but it lacked flavour. Since we were a bit full, we didn’t get to try their other dishes. However, I can confidently say that this place is worth your money if you’re on a budget. The service was quite fast, and I recommend booking a table a night before your planned date.

We came here because we got hungry while walking around and this bouillon restaurant was nearby. We arrived during a less busy time, so we didn't have to wait long to get in. Our expectations weren't that high, but this turned out to be one of the most enjoyable bouillon restaurant we visited. The kir made with blackcurrant liqueur was delicious. We had escargot, butcher's cut, and duck confit, and we loved everything. The atmosphere was very nice and pleasant.

We have tried several Boullion restaurants in Paris over the years, and this one was on our list. We arrived at around 12:45 and without a reservation, but were seated after a very short wait. But the wait was not over. After being seated, we waited and waited for a waiter. After about 20 minutes my wife was able to flag a waiter for some water. Then we had about another 10 minutes before he returned to take our order. The food was very good and came fairly rapidly. When finished we got the check, which included a 10% service charge. As I went to pay via tap, our waiter asked if I wished to add a tip! This would have been on top of the 10% already charged for what we considered very poor service. I refused and we left. Don’t fall for that kind of scam, which I’ve heard is sometimes directed at unsuspecting tourists. You can of course add a bit more of a tip if you get great service. I should add that the prices are very reasonable and the food is very good.

Le Relais de l'Entrecôte, affectionately known as Relais by locals, is a popular spot in Paris for families and steak-frites enthusiasts. The restaurant is a mix of tourists and locals vying for a seat at their pink tablecloth'd tables. Reservations are not accepted, so be prepared to wait in line, but the service is efficient. Once seated, you'll be asked about your drink preference and how you like your steak cooked - rare or medium.
Wow… 🤯 amazing no frills steak restaurant. No frills? No menu! You get a side salad, a steak, and chips. 😋 The steak and chips comes in two servings. Then a choice of dessert - which is guaranteed pure filth! 🤩 No bookings - if they’re full, you queue until a table comes free. Genius.

I went to this place to see if it worth the hype or not. Short answer: Yes, it completely worth it. ⏰ I arrived at 19:15 on a weekday and waited for 30 minutes before getting a table. If you are alone or with one other person, probably you’ll get you table sooner than bigger parties. 🧑🏻‍🍳 The staff were super friendly and nice and I should appreciate this for this amount of workload (If I were them, I wouldn’t be this nice for sure😂). They even apologized for the wait I had although I knew about it beforehand. 🥗 The salad they brought before main dish was just good. Nothing special about it. 🥩 The meat was perfectly cooked to the level I had been ordered. It’s very tasty and the special sauce makes it a fantastic experience. The portions are also generous and won’t leave the place hungry. 💯 To wrap up: Don’t expect the best steak of your life in terms of taste, but if you are looking for a perfect experience in Paris, you can not miss this place.

We had to experience the famous L’entrecote and we were staying only 10 minutes away from this branch. We got here around 15 minutes before opening and there was only a small queue in front of us which built up fairly quickly behind us. However, the restaurant was huge and I think it accommodated everyone in the queue when it opened at 6pm. The highlight was definitely the service. Our server was absolutely delightful, as were all the other ones we saw working there. The steak frite itself was fine, not an amazing steak but one that was cooked well. The fries were again good but nothing special. The portion was ok, not “huge” for the price. The sauce was what we came to try, it hard to describe what it tasted like. It wasn’t amazing but wasn’t terrible either, just different. We enjoyed our time and the dinner here. However, for us i would say it’s not worth queueing up for a long time for it though, as I think for the price and the time you can probably get better meals. However, I couldn’t fault the service.

This place is worth a visit if you’re a steak lover, it's not an extreme top- notch though! Be prepared to wait outside, though — the line can stretch outside for almost an hour since the place is always buzzing with people. Once you’re seated, the staff is friendly and impressively quick, making the dining experience smooth despite the rush. I believe the servers are the star of the show. Let's talk about the food: the green salad was humble in ingredients and size. The steak was tender, deliciously cooked, and paired with their signature rich , flavorful sauce along with french fries. They serve it in two rounds back-2-back and zI believe the portions are satisfying. The only downside is the tight spacing between tables, which can feel a bit cramped during peak times. I found it hard to maneuver taking some photos. Overall, a nice meal with great service. just arrive early and bring a bit of patience!

Truly one of the best steak and fries place the wait is always long but the sauce on the steak is soo fantastically good especially scooping up the sauce the with fries makes all the wait just worth it! The salad is a mustard dressing so be prepared to have your sinuses cleared lol and the house wine was well balanced with our oval meal! Also you get two rounds of steak and fries and it is just the perfect amount! Highly recommend at least trying once while your in paris just make sure to be prepared for the long line outside

Came here for dinner around 7-7:30 pm and there was no line up. We were shocked and were seated quickly! The food definitely lived up to the hype, the sauce for the steak was good! They know what they’re doing. Dessert was also really good. As we left, there was such a long line up, so definitely try getting here earlier

One thing only on the menu, only question you are asked as you are seated is how well done you want the beef. We went for rare and thought that was a really good choice. You are given two servings, which is good cos things are fresh and warm. However on our second serving, the sauce seemed to have split .. which made it very oily.
Ming T — Google review
Was recommended this place by a coworker and it’s been super popular on social media. This location doesn’t have a wait or anything. Not worth it in my opinion. It’s fries and 4 pieces of steak. They ask how you want your steak cooked, and that’s it. Note they do not do medium rare. It’s one or the other. I got rare, sister got medium. We got salad and bread to start, then got 2 servings of fries and steak. My first steak was rare and second steak was closer to medium rare. The sauce was just ok. 2 servings was enough. But with the hype, it wasn’t worth it. It was our last meal before leaving Paris, and I wouldn’t come back.

Restaurant
Café de l’Homme is a chic French bistro located at the Musee de l’Homme, offering stunning views of the Eiffel Tower from its outdoor seating area. Recently renovated by design duo Gilles & Boissier, this iconic café maintains its Art Deco charm while incorporating warm elements such as sand-color cedar walls and ash-and-marble tables. With a limited number of tables providing direct views of the tower, it's advisable to make early reservations.
I had an amazing dining experience here! The signature tuna dish is an absolute must-try – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The view from the restaurant is stunning, making the whole evening even more special. A huge thank you to Darius for his outstanding service. He was patient, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. He gave us some wonderful recommendations that made the meal even better. It was my birthday, and everything was just perfect from the food to the views to the warm and attentive service. Truly unforgettable!

We were looking for a special occasion restaurant in Paris, and Restaurant L’Homme caught our eye for its incredible view of the Eiffel Tower. Admittedly, we were a little nervous because of some of the mixed reviews and the fact that it’s definitely on the pricier side. If you don’t reserve one of the premium tables, you won’t be sitting directly in front of the Eiffel Tower. We decided to go all in, spend about €300, and it turned out to be worth every cent for us. That package included unlimited champagne, and the view itself felt truly priceless. The highlight of the night, however, was our waiter, Noé. He was genuinely kind, attentive, and down to earth. He listened carefully to what we wanted—at one point we mentioned we only drink mint tea, and he went out of his way to find fresh mint from the bar and prepared it in hot water for us. Little gestures like that made us feel so well cared for, and really elevated the whole evening. They were also very generous with the fun sparklers to celebrate the birthday, which made the night feel even more festive and memorable. Overall, the food, the setting, and especially the service created an experience we will never forget. If you’re celebrating something special and want the full Eiffel Tower view, we’d highly recommend going for it—and if you’re lucky enough to have Noé as your server, you’re in for an amazing night.

The restaurant truly has a privileged location with one of the most stunning views of Paris — especially the Eiffel Tower. It’s a wonderful spot if you’re celebrating something special or simply want that iconic Parisian photo. The atmosphere is charming, and the staff are polite and professional, which made the experience pleasant. However, the prices feel a bit high for what’s delivered, both in terms of the food and the overall service. We also agreed to pay extra to sit outdoors with the best view, so it would be fair if the menu prices reflected a better balance between quality and cost. Still, it’s a lovely experience for a memorable moment in Paris — just be ready to pay more for the view than for the meal itself. 🌇

We've been in Paris for two weeks. During that time we have visited several Michelin star restaurants. The food, for the most part, has been underwhelming; little to no seasoning and bland. We came to Cafe de I'Homme not for the food but for the atmosphere and view. We were greatly surprised by the food. And the service was excellent! (Thank you Nader). They were busy with many tables due to fashion week and Nader ensured we felt special. We set our reservation for 2130 so we could enjoy final show of the Eiffel Tower. As always, the Tower didn't disappoint. We sat outside as it rained. It was beautiful. We enjoyed a three course meal that included champagne. We started with the delicate brown crab and the octopus salad. Both were seasoned perfect and very good and hearty. We then slowly moved to entre. I had the duck. It was a breast cooked in a beautiful pastry, similar to a Wellington. It was cooked perfectly. We also had the steak. It was the best steak we have eaten in Paris, so far. We ended with dessert. I had the Tiramisu, which was excellent and La Lova figue. It was sweet, tart and very good. We read many negative reviews but we always take those with a grain of salt. I'm happy we did because this was a perfect night for us. Thank you Nader and staff, you did not disappoint!

I made a Reservation for dinner for my partner and I in Del’Homme to celebrate our Anniversary. During the day we had gone for lunch to Girafe which is right next door and was also Wonderful but Del’Homme was on a another level. I booked the Eiffel Experience for us two which was pricey but definitely more than worth it as it gave you a front seat dining experience to the Eiffel Tour complimented to a three course meal you could design yourself and a Bottle of Charles Heidsieck Champagne. Our Waiter (at the beginning, friend at the end) was Greg and he was quite frankly an exemplar of what great, charming, willing, friendly service of excellence should be like. I’ve prided myself in working in elite service surroundings and when training young minds in the service industry I could not find a better example of service par excellence than the characteristics that Greg showed last night, Merci Beaucoup. But not only Greg, the whole staff ensemble of Del’Homme was wonderful, organized but relaxed and fun and you could see that they were not there cause they had to but because they wanted to and enjoyed it, which says a lot about the people and the establishment itself. The food was a journey from start to beginning, I won’t go to detailed into it as the menu get’s changed quite a bit if I understood it correctly, but I can honestly say that every single dish we had(six course + 2 sidedishes + french caviar) was simply mesmerising magnificence. I definitely recommend trying the french caviar. Some might say it’s expensive but I would say to those that the view, greg and the team and of course the food made it an experience you can’t put a price on and, for us and certainly many other guests, a memory that will be carried and cherished for the rest of our lives. Merci Beaucoup Del’Homme ❤️

We had an absolutely incredible time celebrating my parents' 49th wedding anniversary! I have no idea how it's possible that your Google rating is only 4.0. That's criminal! lol! The ambiance is unbeatable. The food was incredible. The view of the Eiffel is amazing. And the service team made it a truly special night! I would highly recommend their high-end packages with the bottomless champagne and caviar add-on. We've eaten at dozens of 1, 2, and 3 Michelin star-rated restaurants, and this rivaled any of them.

What truly made the evening unforgettable were our incredible waiters, Tom and Darius, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made the experience extra special. Highly recommend Café de l’Homme for anyone looking for a memorable night in Paris!

Our time at Café de l’Homme was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere was truly luxurious, with a breathtaking view and elegant decor that made the experience even more special. The staff were incredibly professional and attentive — the service was flawless from start to finish. We really enjoyed ourselves, and everything exceeded our expectations. The lunch was simply delicious — beautifully presented and full of flavor. Every dish felt like a little work of art. It was a perfect afternoon, and we’d love to return someday. La Tour Montlhéry - Chez Denise is a renowned Parisian dining spot located near Les Halles market. Established in the 1960s, it offers hearty and traditional French cuisine, taking diners on a nostalgic journey through old Paris. The boeuf bourguignon is particularly famous, and the atmosphere exudes robust joviality. The restaurant has garnered praise for its exceptional service and food quality.
The food here is really good. Big delicious portions at very reasonable prices. The serving was also good, with good advice on what to have and good jokes to cheer us up. It's an autentic place that represents Paris very well. Not a lot of trafic on the streets and this is a big plus for me.

A good local eatery, with some flaws. The room inside was cramped and noisy, and the chairs not comfortable at all. Fortunately, the staff agreed we moved outside on the terrace but tried to prevent us from doing so ("if it is raining outside, you will not be able to move back in"). They really did not like the idea overall. it did rain outside and the canopy was sufficiently wide to cover our table, so we were fine. Also, the food arrived fast (too fast?) and the duck confit was swimming in oil, covering the potatoes. The confit itself was very good, but so much oil is just unhealthy and exaggerated. My friend ordered beef filet and fries. the filet was good, to his own account, but the fries were not great. Overall, portions were very generous and that explains the prices that are slightly higher than competition. But comfort and overall experience was just average. Also, the menu was on a board and not translated...

I absolutely love this place. The staff and atmosphere made it an extremely memorable night. The food is quite good too. What makes the food special is they have more than just the same 10 French dishes you find in any other restaurant. They have unique, old school French dishes, with big portions. Try something unique there if you go.

Wow, cannot say enough kind words about this place. AUTHENTIC Parisian cuisine and atmosphere. The staff have been working there a long time and treat their customers like family. The seating is shared so it forces you to make friends and gives it a friendly cozy feel. I had the steak and duck confit and it was absolutely succulent. Felt like my long lost French uncles were taking care of me all evening. Please don’t miss out on this place and 1000% make a reservation. Anthony Bourdain also made an appearance here for extra cool points. Such a wonderful experience!

The menu features a variety of classic French cuisine, including options like coq au vin, duck confit, and a selection of hearty stews. The quality of the ingredients is evident, and the dishes are prepared with care, making each meal a delight. The atmosphere is lively and often bustling, reflecting the vibrant energy of the surrounding area. If you're looking for an authentic Parisian experience with delicious food and a lively ambiance, Chez Denise is definitely worth a visit. Be sure to make a reservation, as it can get quite busy, especially during peak dining hours!

My favorite meal in Europe and this entire year! The food/wine menu is on a chalk board entirely in french. The portions are large and the food is cooked to perfection. I dined alone mid day and was sat immediately. The server spoke English and was attentive and kind. I started with the bone marrow and for my entree enjoyed the duck confit. Both of these food items were the best I’d ever had. The bone marrow was buttery and savory and served with toast and salt. The duck confit quite literally was falling off the bone. I had wine by the glass and for one person spent a very reasonable amount of money for the best meal I’ve had in a long time.

Vastly overrated and terrible restaurant. We ordered so-called signature lamb chop dishes during lunchtime (biggest mistake by ordering same dish for 3 persons due to fake reviews). Meat was so hard that literally needed a chainsaw to cut it. Denise fries (instead of delicious French fries) also tasted horrible. Avoid this joint like a plague!

Le Bon Georges is a classic Parisian bistro located near Galerie Lafayette and the trendy Pigalle area. The restaurant offers a traditional atmosphere with wooden chairs, a chalkboard menu, and an extensive wine list. While the main attraction is the beef dishes cooked to perfection, they also serve seasonal French specialties like asparagus in spring and truffle-topped fish in fall. The emphasis on high-quality ingredients is evident throughout the menu, with a focus on transparency regarding the origins of animal proteins.
Le Bon Georges truly impressed me. The food was absolutely delicious, served in generous portions felt both satisfying and refined. The setting is immaculate, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that elevates the experience as well as the high quality tableware. What really stood out was the staff: cheerful, knowledgeable about both the food and wine, and fluent in English. And the massive wine list is the one cherry on top! I don't usually give 5 stars after a single visit, but here I genuinely can't find a reason not to.
Aysun U — Google review
We recently were in Paris to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and discovered Le Bon Georges through Wine Spectator as a result of their recent Grand Champion award that they won, which is a tremendous recognition. We decided to opt for the Chef's Table, which included a 6 course tasting menu prepared by Chef Loïc Lobet. The meal was a masterpiece that was highlighted by our witnessing every dish being prepared and seeing the meticulous care that Chef Lobet and his sous chef, Simon, were putting into every dish. We had caviar and venison and sashimi tuna and sweet breads and sea bass, complete with all the accoutrement sauces and reductions that was just a Tour de Force in French cuisine. As you might expect with the Wine Spectator designation, the wine list should actually be referred to as a Wine Bible, as it is massive and will leave you drooling over the various selections that are available. I would have loved for this meal to have had a wine pairing option, but nevertheless, we enjoyed many glasses of white and red wine from various parts of France. There is also an AMAZING Cigar humidor and menu that features the best from Cuba as well as a complete cognac selection if the mood strikes. Lastly, the team and the service provided was incredible. The entire evening was a five hour affair and by the time we left, the entire back room (three tables) was sharing port and stories like we were old friends, but in reality had just met that evening through the introductory bridge that was the masterful Le Bon Georges experience. When we come back to Paris...we will be back and will recommend this location to anyone that's looking for a world class meal that just leaves you wanting more. Thank you to the entire team at Le Bon Georges! - Sincerely, Aaron & Nikki Decker

Le Bon Georges is one of those rare Parisian bistros that gets everything just right — warm hospitality, a timeless setting, and food that celebrates the very best of French produce. The pâté en croûte is superb: a perfect balance of rich, delicate filling wrapped in golden, flaky pastry, executed with both finesse and generosity. The Bresse chicken — tender, juicy, and deeply flavorful — is a true showcase of France’s finest poultry, cooked with respect for tradition and a light touch that lets the ingredient shine. But the standout dish for me was the tomato tart. A deceptively simple plate that captured the essence of late-summer produce, it was bright, sweet, and full of layered flavors, each bite reminding me why French bistro cooking is so beloved. Le Bon Georges doesn’t just serve a meal; it offers an experience of honest French gastronomy, rooted in quality and respect for the seasons. A place to return to again and again.

Booked reservations months in advance for my husband and I with the specific intention of trying the beef fillet and the famous peppercorn sauce. The service was wonderful. We arrived early and were seated immediately. Neither of us are big wine drinkers so we politely declined the enormous wine menu and requested a simple rosé and a beer. The servers seemed eager to assist with both the wine and dinner menu and I could imagine a wine lover enjoying the huge menu. The beef was literally the best steak I’ve ever had and was cooked a perfect medium rare. Sad we were too full to try the giant chocolate mouse, but we will be back!

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Le Bon Georges, and it was hands-down one of the best meals I've had in Paris. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff, who were attentive, knowledgeable, and made fantastic recommendations from their extensive wine list. The food was phenomenal. Each dish was expertly prepared with the freshest ingredients and presented beautifully. The poêlé de champignons was rich and earthy, the Pâté en Croûte fait maison was flaky and flavorful, and the steak tartare was perfectly seasoned. The caille aux raisons was tender and juicy, and the frites were crispy perfection. But the real standout was the tarte tatin; warm, caramelized apples topped with crème fraîche vanillée... it was the perfect ending to an already incredible meal. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, with a warm and welcoming vibe that made us feel right at home. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who knew their stuff. If you're looking for a truly exceptional dining experience in Paris, Le Bon Georges is a must-visit. Be sure to book ahead, as it's clear this place is popular for a reason!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our lunch at Le Bon Georges! From the second we walked in, we were greeted by warm faces and a familia atmosphere. Our waiter was funny and charming. The food was as good as advertised! I highly recommend the Steak Frites, the sauce was to die for. The decor was also an excellent touch and made us feel like we were in a movie for a few hours. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Paris!

Category: Traditional bistro. If you have notions from movies, books, or prior experience about what a traditional French bistro should look like, feel like, be like, this is it, except for one thing: the wine list. For anyone old enough to remember the size of telephone books, this is an apt description of the wine list. It’s about 6” thick. The only one I have seen that rivals it is at Berns Steak House in Tampa, Fl. The bistro’s wine collection is a Wine Spectator awardee. Even with our wine experience, picking a bottle was daunting. With the help of our excellent French server, who spoke American the way we speak it, we chose a Beaujolais around 50 Euros, our sweet spot for restaurant wines. The best thing about the bistro was the hustle and bustle. Hollywood could not have choreographed it any better. Servers with trays and bottles constantly danced, dodged, and weaved around each other, making the atmosphere wonderfully chaotic and fun. For dinner we chose the excellent tortellini with cepes (porcini mushrooms) and the steak frites with housemade real mayonnaise. Both dishes showcased how cream (in the sauces) elevates any dish. The beef was beautifully grilled, crusty on the outside and medium rare on the inside. We most loved the frites, which had plenty of crusty bits, my favorite part. For dessert we shared the rice pudding. It’s not like any rice pudding you have ever had: huge, creamy, and topped with caramelized nuts. Incredible. We had a wonderful time, enjoying the food, wine, ambience, delightful chaos, and eavesdropping on the nearby conversations. YouTube’s Chef’s Apprentice

First visit and definitely won’t be our last. We were drawn here for the wine list, and our waitress/sommelier did not disappoint in helping us navigate it. She made spot-on recommendations at a great price point and helped us pace our meal accordingly. Wines were the perfect temperature, which can be hard to do in the summer! The food was outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The waiter was happy to make suggestions, both on the menu to the appropriate cook temperature. Dessert was beautiful and perfect way to round out the meal. One last piece, they let us take our time, which made this even more enjoyable. The ability to enjoy and savor a meal is truly a luxury, and we enjoyed every moment of it at Le Bon Georges.

If this is meant to be an experience of French cuisine, then you’re having a laugh. Tonight’s meal was easily the worst we’ve had so far in Paris, keep in mind that these places aren’t cheap. The tuna poke bowl was completely inedible, the sausage was barely tolerable, and the bottle of white wine we ordered wasn’t even chilled. Hugely disappointing.

We absolutely loved having dinner here, it’s located just off the busy street which we loved. Staff were so friendly and made time to stop and have a chat. This place filled up quick once the restaurant opened. I would recommend pre-booking like we did. Personally I didn't like the food I tried here, but this is not an attack on the restaurant. I wanted to try French food that I've never tried before and now that I have I can say it's not for me, but the food was probably cooked to perfection. I ordered the mushroom vol-au-vent where I didn't enjoy the sauce. Then I ordered the chicken cooked in wine and morels, and it's the same sauce! I had no idea they would taste the same :( Anyway, lets talk about the positives. The staff and service was great. We were well looked after. They spoke English to us and provided us an English menu. We loved the escargot, and the beef bourguignon was very generous. The evening ended with profiteroles, which we thought were the best we've ever had.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Paris. I was there in April 2025 and on August 29 I had a 21:45 reservation but stopped by 45 minutes early to see if by chance I could be seated early. Luckily they were able to seat me and I couldn't have had a more wonderful dinner. I was dining solo but was treated with utmost care and ordered the always wonderful escargots and had the most amazing steak with morel mushroom sauce. The bread and rillettes with my aperitif was also yummy. I was too full for a major dessert but had a single boule of vanilla ice cream and the most delicious digestif called Chartreuse. My waitress was even kind enough to write down where i could buy it as i liked it so much. I wish i had asked for her name as I'd like to thank her for the recommendation as i was able to buy a bottle to take home. Great restaurant -- I can't wait to go back!

Septime offers a refined dining experience in a minimalist and Nordic-inspired space located in the 11th arrondissement. Chef Bertrand Grebaut, known for his work at renowned restaurants, presents creative dishes using familiar seasonal ingredients. The menu changes every two weeks and features plant- and vegetable-focused cuisine with a focus on experimenting with textures and flavors. The restaurant provides a comfortable atmosphere while serving ambitious dishes that highlight the natural flavors of each ingredient.
I had the chance to enjoy lunch at Septime in Paris, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The menu was creative, beautifully presented, and full of fresh, seasonal flavors. What impressed me most was how approachable the restaurant feels despite its Michelin-starred status — the atmosphere is relaxed, modern, and welcoming rather than overly formal. For the quality they deliver, the lunch menu is also surprisingly affordable, making it a great way to experience fine dining in Paris without an intimidating price tag. Securing a reservation can be quite challenging, but once you’re inside, you immediately understand why it’s so sought after. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, happy to explain the dishes without rushing, and the pacing of the meal was smooth. I particularly appreciated the balance between elegance and comfort — you can fully enjoy the artistry of the food while still feeling at ease. I definitely look forward to coming back to try their dinner menu, which I’ve heard is an even more elaborate showcase of their culinary creativity. Septime is a wonderful spot for anyone looking for a Michelin-starred dining experience in Paris that feels refined yet accessible. Absolutely worth the effort of getting a table!

Had dinner at Septime in Paris, a one Michelin star restaurant that also ranked No.40 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list. The cuisine is modern French, beautifully plated with a strong sense of seasonality. Portions are on the smaller side, but the menu is well structured. Three seasonal dishes left the strongest impression: a chilled watermelon and cheese soup, lobster with crispy pig’s ear and ravioli in lobster and wine sauce, and cucumber sorbet with cherries and pepper. Refreshing and light, perfectly in tune with the summer menu. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, with attentive service throughout. A very popular restaurant, so reservations well in advance are a must.

The taste itself is amazing. However, I have to mention that the portion was very tiny compared to other restaurants with similar reputation. And we really didn’t like the dessert. The sorbet was very sweet without a nice fruity flavor. And the combination with chili was not a good match.

However, the service lacked authenticity and charm. The atmosphere felt more like an industry than a genuine dining experience. Quite disappointing.

Incredible meal - delicious, special, flavorful. Every dish was great. The highlight was probably the dessert - a citrusy ice cream with mandarin and grapes. Also loved the grilled chicken, and the chanterelle dish. The best part overall was how well the wine-pairing complemented the dishes - highly recommend getting the pairing!
Malte H — Google review
Like other reviews have mentioned, our main issue is that portions were extremely tiny, there was not enough food, and we left hungry. This is unacceptable for the price and the effort needed to get a reservation here. All dishes were tasty and well executed but the main course was two bites of red mullet - barely anything. Many other Michelin restaurants in Paris serve equally delicious food and bigger portions for less or similar prices. Two courses at the end for dessert, why? Most of the tasting menu were vegetables.

The service was impressive. Waiters were very welcoming, warm, explained very well and carefully, 6/5 for me. The best I have ever experienced at fine dining despite the fact that they didn't refill the bread often. The cuisine was modern with some french traditional touches, basing a lot on freshness and seasonal products. There were a few good dishes but stop at "delicious level", no dish has really impressed me. No story was really told, just like a series of tapas dishes. It could be acceptable because the concept was a neobistrot, however the price 135e/diner and small quantity per dish didn't totally justify it. I put the 5 in overall instead of 4 because the service was really really excellent, the best.

Septime is one of the most forward-thinking, creative kitchens anywhere in the world. i would not visit Paris without eating at this fantastic restaurant. i have been a big fan of Bertrand Grebaut since his days at l'Arpege and have followed his career since. he doesn't disappoint. love Septime.

L’Ami Jean is a cozy bistro located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, known for its elevated meat and seafood dishes made from sustainable ingredients. The restaurant has a devoted fan base and is popular among both locals and tourists seeking an authentic bistro experience. The lively atmosphere, with mismatched furniture and crooked artwork, adds to the charm of this establishment.
Superb meal! Rich and delicious food. Fun, knowledgeable service. We enjoyed the tight space and shared table. Rice pudding is mandatory. Come hungry. Stephane is the real deal.

L’Ami Jean continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Paris. The menu changes but the quality stays the same. Most recently I went for lunch and enjoyed an incredible sea bass (one of the best I’ve ever had) with vegetables and a pork dish alongside their signature mashed potatoes. And no L’Ami Jean meal is complete without their famous rice pudding. So so delicious and the perfect ending to what’s always a great meal!

It was my first time dining here after seeing so many great reviews online. Many people mentioned that the prices are a bit high for Paris, but honestly I think it’s completely reasonable considering the quality. Every dish tasted refined, flavorful, and well balanced, rich but never overwhelming. You can really tell this isn’t home style cooking, it’s fine dining level cuisine. The mashed potatoes with meat sauce were absolutely delicious, such a perfect combination. The wine by the glass selection wasn’t huge, but every option we tried was excellent and very smooth. I also ordered the sweetbread, which is usually served as a starter at other restaurants, but here it came as a main dish. The portion was huge and cooked perfectly. It was incredibly satisfying, though a little heavy toward the end, not because of the flavor but simply because of the portion itself. Still, every bite was worth it, crispy, rich, and so fulfilling. The overall atmosphere was elegant yet cozy, the kind of place that makes you want to come back. If I ever return to Paris, this restaurant will definitely be on my list again.

Good main dish, dessert and wine selection. The portion is a bit too big from my perspective. Service is actually good which is above my expectations.

My wife and I had a wonderful time and an even more wonderful meal here. We enjoyed a few Michelin restaurants during our time in Paris, but the meal we would have again was the one we had here. Also a special shout out, they noticed my wife was pregnant and got her a chair to sit while we waited and sat us at a table with more room so she could be comfortable.

A Truly Unforgettable Parisian Lunch It was my last day in Paris, and I asked ChatGPT for the one restaurant I absolutely had to try for lunch. It recommended L’Ami Jean, and I’m so glad it did. This place left me smiling from the moment I sat down to long after I walked out into the Paris streets. Tucked away on a quiet street, the restaurant has a warm, cozy ambiance and the perfect-sized lunch crowd. My waitress, Anondile (if I got her name right), recommended two dishes since it was my first time: Sauté de cèpes et girolles, oeuf de 6 minutes (starter) Pêche du Jour Davant, Dit Sauvage — wild seabass (main) Before anything else, they serve housemade bread and butter on a bed of sea salt—simple but unbelievably good. The starter was a complete flavor explosion; I’m normally not a fan of boiled eggs, but the oeuf de 6 minutes was perfect in this dish. The seabass was pan-fried to perfection, plated beautifully with beet, mushroom, a savory sauce, and silky creamy potatoes. It was one of those meals that leaves you fully satisfied and wishing you had room for dessert. I ended with a hot tea and just sat there reflecting on how amazing the meal was. No wonder this is a spot where other chefs come to dine. It’s an authentic French experience through and through. I’m heading back to the States for the holidays, but when I return to Paris, L’Ami Jean will absolutely be on my list again. Chef Stéphane Jégo’s food truly brings a smile to your face.

Wonderful experience and dinner . See menu. Started with pate snd grilled scallops followed by sweet breads and pork cheeks w/mashed potatoes. Finished with their famous rice pudding. Tables are packed together side by side but due to staggered reservations this was not a problem
James M — Google review
Had a reservation for one and enjoyed an exceptional lunch. Service was warm and attentive throughout. I regret not asking for my server’s name - she was kind, professional, and made the experience feel personal. If she ever reads this, I hope she knows her hospitality stood out. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with an open kitchen that invites you into the process. My only minor gripe: tables are placed quite close together, which can make things feel a bit cramped. But it’s clear the chef’s focus lies elsewhere - every ounce of care and creativity has gone into the menu, and it shows. FOOD - For starters: Razor clams gently poached in a rich, aromatic fish stock infused with tomato, tarragon, and a medley of other herbs and spices. The broth was the highlight - deeply flavorful and layered, with sweet acidity from the tomato and a subtle anise note from the tarragon. Generous amounts of fried onion and grilled tomato added both texture and umami. While I typically prefer my clams raw or grilled, these were exceptionally well prepared. Overall, a pleasant surprise that converted even this skeptic of poached shellfish For the main course - A perfectly grilled pigeon, precisely cooked, super juicy. Each piece was nestled atop a stunning mushroom ragout that delivered an immediate wow: deeply savory, earthy, and luxuriously textured. Alongside it were root vegetables simmered in a rich beef stock, equally imbued with the depth of the forest and a soulful, slow-cooked intensity. The dish was served with a flamed wild plant. The aromatic smoke delicately perfumed the dish, enhancing the taste of the pigeon and layering the experience with a wild, yet elegant, edge. Served on the side were hearty mashed potatoes - super buttery and creamy. It didn’t just complement the pigeon, it harmonized well with the ragout and vegetables, creating a spoonful that was rich and satisfying. I've eaten four pigeon dishes in my life, three of which were in Michelin restaurants, but this was the best. For dessert - The chef’s signature creation: a rice pudding that’s anything but traditional. The rice was cooked with precision - tender yet solid, holding together in gentle clumps without ever becoming porridge. Simmered in milk and mascarpone, the texture was a 10/10: luxuriously creamy, soft, and infinitely comforting. The dominant flavor was unapologetically milky. But the real twist lies beneath - an extraordinary salty crème anglaise, unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Flecked with real vanilla and carrying the unmistakable depth of salted butter, it’s a sauce that stuns on its own and transforms the pudding into a study in contrast: sweet vs. salty. Also beneath the rice - toasted medley of hazelnuts and walnuts, their buttery richness and delicate smokiness adding dimension. Most crucially, they brought a necessary crunch, cutting through the softness and amplifying the dish’s balance and intrigue. Bottom line: A show-stopping dessert. And I say that having eaten some decent, serious rice puddings, around the world. This one is in a league of its own. TO CONCLUDE: If it’s been a while since a meal truly excited you, do yourself a favor - book a table.

La Poule au Pot is a charming French restaurant located in the central 1st arrondissement of Paris. The vibrant red exterior, scarlet curtains, and retro signage exude classic Parisian style. This Les Halles institution has been around for over 80 years and is currently run by renowned chef Jean-Francois Piege and his wife Elodie. The historic dolls-house-like building has been renovated while preserving its original charm.
This was my second visit to Poule au Pot. We found it accidentally three years ago, and knew we HAD to go back again this trip. The food was AMAZING, and our service was absolutely Darling. I will come back again and again.

Firstly, all of the staff were incredibly nice and hospitable. I felt welcome and attended to throughout my dining experience. Unfortunately, the restaurant felt filled with tourists and the food was just okay. I was looking for more of an authentic French bistro and instead found myself in the middle of a Trip Advisor “go to” list. The meal was decent but overpriced and the wine list was extensive but missing some of the options. I just wish it were better.
Brooks J — Google review
Michelin restaurant? I don’t think so. Good evening! The restaurant offers good cuisine, but the service needs improvement. The appetizers and main courses are tasty, but they don’t create a wow effect. There are issues with the service: they don’t clear the glasses, they don’t change the tablecloth for dessert—and in general, it’s shabby (for a restaurant with a high price tag and a Michelin star). They didn’t offer tea or coffee with dessert. After serving the dishes, they don’t say “enjoy your meal” to mark the end of the service and the start of the guests’ dining experience. If it were just an inexpensive restaurant, we would have given it a five. But this is Michelin, and that means reputation. We are very disappointed and do not recommend it.

The French onion soup was amazing. The sea bass, chicken pot and the steak were great entrees and the staff helped us find a wine to fit with our diverse courses form their extensive list!

Great place imho, nice staff and super awesome wine list! The steak tartare was perfect and nicely spiced up, probably one of the better ones I had in my life.
Kees B — Google review
We came to the restaurant expecting a good French dining experience, but it turned out to be a complete tourist trap. Everything focuses on flashy “show” preparations at the table, but the food itself is bland, completely under-seasoned, and nowhere near justified for the price. We ordered several dishes, including the steak, the fish, and the tartare- and those three dishes we could barely touch. We took one bite and stopped. When the waiter came to clear the plates, he didn’t even ask why we hadn’t eaten or whether something was wrong. He simply removed the dishes without saying a word, as long as they could still charge us. The place is also extremely cramped. Tables are packed so tightly that to get to your seat, all the guests at the table had to stand up and the staff had to physically move the table. You can’t even get up to go to the restroom without creating a whole scene. The staff was unfriendly the entire evening, and the final bill was 260€ for two people, without even ordering wine- completely disproportionate for the quality and experience. At the end, we asked for help getting a taxi, and the staff brushed us off, claiming it was difficult to find one on a Friday. Someone outside helped us instead, and a taxi arrived within minutes. Overall, a deeply disappointing experience. Absolutely not recommended.

A rare gem of authentic French cuisine I’ve been dining at restaurants across France for decades, and La Poule au Pot is something truly special. This place has preserved an authenticity that’s nearly impossible to find today – the kind of honest, soulful French cooking I remember from 30-40 years ago when I was much younger. Everything here is about simplicity done right: exceptional quality ingredients, generous portions, and dishes prepared the way they should be. No pretense, no gimmicks – just real French food the way it was meant to be eaten. Located in the heart of Les Halles (once known as “the belly of Paris”), this restaurant is more than a meal – it’s a genuine taste of France’s culinary soul. If you want to experience truly authentic French cuisine in Paris, La Poule au Pot isn’t just recommended – it’s essential

Third visit during this trip. This time, the weather prompted the need for something really warm and I had to try the onion soup. Delicious and extremely hot, perfect for the day. My wife had the "POÊLÉE DE CÈPES À L’HUILE EN PERSILLADE, œuf mollet" which comes in a great presentation and the mushrooms and egg are delicious. We shared the "TOURNEDOS DE FILET DE BOEUF flambé au poivre" which were just the right sized portion to share. The "flambeing" imparts great flavor to the dish, not to mention the lightness of the pepper sauce. We accompanied the dish with spinach and paired the meal with a good Morgon wine.

Le Châteaubriand is a neo-bistro located in Paris, offering inventive fine dining menus with wine pairings. The restaurant is set in a simple, high-ceilinged brasserie, creating a bourgeois bistro setting. Despite the traditional ambiance, the cuisine at Le Châteaubriand is described as lively and daring, with flashes of brilliance. The vintage decoration adds to the refined atmosphere of the place, featuring a beautiful marble counter and an impressive replica of the football world cup.
Food was absolutely delicious. Seasonal ingredients, top level execution, interesting flavors combinations. And the sauces, all their sauces were very impressive. Nice vibe, good services. Their lunch menu was a really good deal. A must try, and totally worth a come back when the menu changes

Great lunch in Paris. Service, Staff and wine were fantastic. All the food was prepared well and tasted delicious, however I just didn’t feel much or have anything memorable. Maybe It’s me. I just like more adventurous food. The cheese selection was however my favorite of my trip to Paris! Extra points for being extremely kind and accommodating to the table next to us with ludicrous dietary requirements. If I was the chef I would have asked them to leave. Yet they smiled and gave Them what they requested.
Daniel M — Google review
At these prices? One thing I’ve noticed about restaurant reviews is that most people focus on either the food or on the service. It’s a personal preference. I tend to be in the food camp. If the food is great, and the wait staff doesn’t fawn over me I don’t usually care. However, when you’re paying a premium for your experience, as at Le Chateaubriand, it’s fair to expect at least a balance between the two, and it’s unsettling when you start to feel no one gives a damn. We chose Le Chateaubriand as our “special” meal at the end of our Paris trip. It’s not dear on the level of a 5-star, 400 per head situation, but it’s not cheap either. It’s where you go for something elevated, and it came recommended for just that. We were excited. We arrived at opening, and were welcomed formally if not warmly to a nearly empty dining room. At first, we received visits from what seemed to be the whole waitstaff who explained the tasting menu system. We opted out of the wine pairing but the sommelier helped us choose a lovely bottle to accompany. The food overall was delicious and inventive, though some courses were less exciting than others. The menu here changes nightly. Around the time our food started arriving, another party came in and sat down at the table next to ours. Here’s where things changed. By the flurry of attention the group received It became clear they were known by the staff and possibly the chef. Suddenly it was as if we were no longer in the room. Finishing our 1st bottle, we flagged someone down to ask for the sommelier so we could purchase another and were told she was too busy. The waiter could help us instead. Uh. What? After that, someone who appeared to be the chef came out and stood chatting with his friends at the next table, never even glancing around to see who else was in the dining room. I get it, friends are friends, but it was a strange feeling to be neglected in this way. During the second half of the meal, nobody checked in to see how we were doing, all of the staff we had encountered early on had disappeared, and we were left with one lone server, doing his best but clearly stuck with us while the others attended to more important matters. Finally, we waited and waited for the check, but nobody ever came so we stood and put our coats on. The (pricey) bill arrived as we got to the door, and when I said to the staff that we felt they’d forgotten about us they acted shocked, shocked I tell you, as if this wasn’t possible. It’s a shame, because the food here is whimsical, sometimes even inspired. But ultimately what we went home with wasn’t the memory of the food, but that sinking feeling of having been forgotten.

Le Châteaubriand — A Major Letdown We came to Le Châteaubriand full of excitement and left feeling incredibly disappointed. For context, we’re a couple who loves fine dining and trying new flavors, so we were really looking forward to this experience. The evening started off on a good note: the staff was friendly and seated us right away. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The waiter explained the tasting menu, and we opted for the wine pairing. The first dish—cheese puffs—was fine, but nothing memorable or exciting. That trend continued throughout the night. A ceviche you drink, something fried, then more and more courses that were completely forgettable. The main meat course was chicken, which again was just… fine. Nothing creative, nothing bold. It felt like the chef was burnt out and uninspired. Honestly, it didn’t even seem like he tasted his own food. Front of house wasn’t much better. It felt disorganized, with different servers coming to our table throughout the night. They seemed rushed, distracted, and frankly like they didn’t care. Normally that wouldn’t be a dealbreaker, but for a restaurant of this supposed caliber, it was disappointing. The wine pairing? Also fine. Nothing bad, but nothing exciting either. Honestly, we had a €7 bottle from a local grocery store that was more enjoyable. And then the strangest part—mid-dinner, a man from the street (clearly not part of the official staff) walked around the restaurant trying to sell roses, like we were at a beach bar in Cancun. The staff said nothing. At the end of the meal, they even suggested we leave a tip, which no other restaurant we’ve dined at in Paris has done, and seemed overly pushy. As a side note, they also did not take American Express. To anyone considering this restaurant: skip it. Don’t waste your money on a place where the chef seems checked out and the staff isn’t invested. There are too many amazing restaurants in Paris—this isn’t one of them.
Dan P — Google review
An EXCEPTIONAL dining experience that seamlessly blends outstanding service with super creative cuisine. The food is a highlight, showcasing innovative dishes that surprise and delight the palate. What truly sets this restaurant apart is its casually elegant vibe—a perfect balance of sophistication and relaxed comfort. The atmosphere feels effortless yet refined, making every moment enjoyable. An absolute must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure in Paris! Great for kids or adults or both! Can’t wait to go back
Patrick G — Google review
I visited for lunch so my experience was somehow limited, but from the end: the dessert was unbelievable tasty. Trip through a different tastes of ambush starters to the main course - good lesson of tastes and creativity. Must visit place on map of Paris
Piotr A — Google review
We had dinner here with another couple on a Wednesday night. Upon arrival we were promptly seated and when our server took our drink order they also asked if we had any dietary restrictions or dislikes. Two people in our group went straight vegetarian and one person preferred not to eat any seafood. They were incredibly accommodating and had no issues with the requests. The dinner service had no menu and most closely resembled a tasting course meal but felt more laid back and casual. One of our dining companions chose to do the wine pairings while the rest of us opted not to. They did not have cocktails on the menu but they had a limited selection of spirits and were able to make simple drinks like gin & tonic and tequila & soda. The dishes came out at a nice pace and each one was as good as the last. Collectively our favorite dish was probably the white bean soup, it was simple but insanely good! I was very excited to try the preserved egg yolk dessert as that seems to be a staple on their ever changing menu. It was super interesting and should definitely be taken in one bite. I loved the casual cozy feel of this restaurant and would be more than happy to come back!

Nestled in the vibrant Belleville quartier of Paris, Le Grand Bain is a neo-bistro that effortlessly combines style with culinary creativity. This charming spot, brought to life by British chef Edward Delling-Williams and his French counterpart Edouard Lax, serves up an enticing array of seasonal small plates that are as visually stunning as they are delicious. With dishes like scamorza fondue paired with chicory and pigeon accompanied by pointed cabbage, each visit promises a delightful surprise.
It’s the second time I’ve reviewed Le Grand Bain and I cannot stress enough how amazing this spot is. Our menu was marked with the options we could eat (as my partner is pregnant) and we were waited on so friendly and promptly we felt like we were the only ones in there (it was fully booked though). I have to stress the importance of a reservation because not only is it popular, you just don’t want to leave Paris without a visit here.

The cozy ambiance is enhanced by vintage wine bottles adorning the bar and flickering candles on red-and-white checkered tablecloths. The waiters here are classy. Aude took care of us and she was wonderful. The food was tasty. It's a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. The sauce on the beef tartare was excellent, just enough flavors so it doesnt take away from the full taste of the beef. I really wish the wagyu steak had better texture but it was still good. Definitely recommend starting out with the bone marrow. Hope to be back again.

Above all, the staff was so kind. We visited only after looking at Google reviews, and we were a little worried because we were not good at French. However, the staff explained it in English so kindly, and there was no problem with communication at all. And when we ordered meat for 4 people, they explained that we could order it properly so that we wouldn't overpay, and we were very satisfied. We plan to visit often during our stay in Paris. 👍

So a couple things. If you are American, don’t order the French beef. Its milder tasting and you probably wouldn’t like it and not seasoned as much. The waiter offered me the Black Angus option but I went with a butcher selected triple cut. The staff is nice, efficient and extremely attentive. The atmosphere is amazing. The one star off is because I ordered for medium and one was well done/burnt and two were rare. I think the pictures says it as much which is which.
