The service was impeccable. Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and the history of the restaurant. Ambiance is on the fancier side with white table cloths and an emphasis on fine dining. The menu is varied with each dish being very complex with lots of flavors going on at once, borderline overly so. However, they are all in balance so everything still tasted good. I will note that seafood Paella was more of a jambalaya with Latin flavor profiles. But was still tasty. Definitely worth going at least once to experience the ambiance and the chef’s menu.

Best fine dining restaurant in Raleigh! My husband took me here to celebrate my birthday. The food was exquisite and the ambience was amazing. They even gave me a signed menu by the chef as a birthday gift. Truly loved the whole experience. Highly recommend it!

My family and I went there to celebrate. It was an amazing dinner. The food was so flavorful and different than any other place. The chef is very talented at combining flavors. The desserts were very unique, but very good. For example, their was a chocolate and apricot cake which I’ve never had before and it was amazing. It seemed like the chef put his own touch. Our family all ordered different dishes. The highlight of the night was definitely all of the desserts lol, the ribeye, and calamari. Also shouout to Amanda for remembering all of the dishes and specials lol 😂

Really cool restaurant with great food. Started with a 3 cheese plate. The sheep's milk blue cheese was the star of the show. They had a dinner course special of foie gras and a filet mignon. Both were paired with too many things to remember but everything paired really well together in every bite. A great balance of savory and sweet.

Our visit to Second Empire was absolutely phenomenal! Elegant Victorian house, the ambience set the tone for a perfect dinner. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece! Just amazing! Impeccable service!!! We felt like VIPs! It was our anniversary dinner and everyone at the restaurant made sure we had an excellent experience. I can’t wait to return! We came to celebrate our anniversary, and the staff did several things to help us celebrate. Derek was our waiter, and he was very knowledgeable about not only the menu, but the history of the restaurant as well. Staff was very accommodating, checking in frequently but not too much. The food was delicious, and the presentation was fantastic. We started with the French onion soup and the roasted duck leg at pineapple salad. For entrees, we had grilled moroccan seasoned swordfish and the New Hampshire crabcake. Both were perfect! In addition to the delicious food, we enjoyed some of their signature drinks. To top things off, Derek gave us a tour of the home/restaurant. It was an excellent experience.

This is truly an exceptional dining experience. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service very much. This is a special occasion restaurant. They made our 39th wedding anniversary very special!. We even had a signed menu from the chef waiting for us! Highly recommend for those special occasions!

This was our second time here and both times have been 10/10! We got the duck, steak, eggplant, and trout. The steak was paired with a truffle cream type corn that may have been my favorite thing on the table. The eggplant was super crispy and not soggy at all. The trout was light but the sauce it was paired with was the star of the show. They were all absolutely delicious but we all agreed the trout was our favorite. The brownie sundae had an incredible honey peanut butter whip and was so dense and gooey I wanted five. The portions here are perfect that you can enjoy an app, dinner, and dessert and not feel like you need to be rolled out. It was my dad’s birthday and they did a candle for him in the cheesecake. Both my parents said this was a top five meal ever for them!

I can see why this restaurant was on the Michelin Guide for Raleigh. The ambiance when you walk in, is so cozy. However, the food was AMAZING. All the flavors were there. The yellowtail crudo had to be my favorite dish. The rice cake they put on top is to die for, and dipping it in the yellowtail was chefs kiss. The catfish was their special and it was perfectly lightly battered and fried! Cocktails were unique and held lots of flavor. Definitely ask the waitress or waiter about the speakeasy, you’ll need a key to go! The service was 10/10, a great date night

The atmosphere is beautiful and perfect for date night. We enjoyed our time here and the food was a feast for the eyes. It was our first time eating beef tartar and it was delicious but a little too salty. They are pricey !

I get it now. Crawford & Son is that spot—and for good reason. It’s where everyone I know in Raleigh ends up for their special occasions, and after finally going myself, I totally understand why. It’s not flashy. It’s not stuffy. It’s just… effortlessly excellent. The kind of place where the food is Michelin-level but the staff makes you feel like a regular—even if it’s your first visit. The vibe? Elevated, local, and entirely unpretentious. Chef Scott Crawford and his team are true pros—the kind that know they’re the best, so they don’t have to act like it. Every plate is thoughtful, seasonal, and full of flavor (do NOT skip the manchego biscuits). And the energy in the room? Warm, grounded, indie soundtrack in the background, everyone just genuinely enjoying being there. Honestly, I wanted to gatekeep this neighborhood gem. But it’s too good not to share. Came to celebrate a Girl Friend's birthday. First time here and it was delicious. My drink the TKO had gin, watermelon, campari and coconut. It was so smooth and delicious...quite possibly dangerous after a few. My favorite drink now. We had a Pork Belly Special, Bone Marrow Tartare and Blue Crab Ditalini to start. All were beautifully and cleanly presented. Biscuits were a good salty and flaky. For entrees, had the Duck Breast, Sea Trout and Denver Steak, all were properly seasoned and cooked. We had all desserts except the sorbet. We were full but had to try them all and they did not disappoint either. Our server did a great job. Super friendly and wished my friend a Happy Birthday. Checking my calendar now to see when I can bring my husband. Can't wait. Also loved Brodeto!!

The food here was so bomb. Everything was rich and succulent in flavors and preparation. Loved the drinks, service, and the food. Hands down.

I've heard about this place from TV and word of mouth. I tried to make a dinner reservation online but the website seemed to block typical dinner hours or their reservation was completely filled up far in advance. In any case, I've decided to try the lounge which opens at 3 and it's first come first serve. This place had great atmosphere. The decoration was unique. Totally southern barnyard feel. We ordered tomahawk ($95) and beef ribs ($40). In many reviews, people complained about their overprices, but considering the crazy inflation of beef prices these days, I thought their price was not unreasonable. However, the taste and quality of steaks were not as good as it looked. The meat was rather tough and bit dry. Unfortunately I cannot give more than 3 stars for that reason. It was a shame. I had a high expectation.

Holiday Cheer! If you want to feel like you stepped into a Hallmark Movie during the Holidays you need to come here. It’s November and so many beautiful Christmas decorations are up. Beautiful building. We had the Chateaubriand cooked to medium. It was excellent! It comes with a salad, your choice of potatoes and another side. Choose one of their lovely wines to go with it. We were so full we couldn’t have dessert. We have tried their Checker pie and it’s amazing. You can always pick up at their store some dessert to go. Service was very good, our server was extremely helpful. Our first time here so we had many questions. The staff overall were very nice. Reservations are hard to come by due to the popularity. So plan at least 4 months in advance. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome vibes- it truly does feel like a barn but they treat you to specular food and great portions. Even with a huge party, we had outstanding service and everything was delicious. Great spot for good meat!

We have a fabulous time every time we visit! I recommend coming early so you can enjoy the bar space out front before your reservation. They have complimentary cheese and crackers and it is a fun space to hang out in all weather. I'm vegetarian, but I get plenty to eat here. They have two pasta choices. All of the staff is helpful and nice! The decorations and many dining rooms are so interesting and they are so fun when they are decorated for Christmas!

THE. BEST. RESTAURANT. The food is amazing, the specialty truffle ribeye is the best. I was never a steak person but this is just too good. The complimentary cherry pepper is also sooooo good with the white cheddar. Wine are good as well. The service is also so good! Isabella is the best!! The vibe is immaculate too and the Christmas decorations are so pretty. Everything is perfect. 10/10 recommend!

Recently my travels took me to the Research Triangle Area so I made plans to eat at the historic Angus Barn. I am so glad I did. They had decorated for the Christmas holidays and what a delightful and most enriching experience I had. The festive spirit of the decorations put me in a warm joyful mood. Everyone was having a wonderful time, I felt as if I was in a Hallmark Movie, but it was better than that because it was real. The food was excellently prepared and tasted delicious and the portions were very generous. Our service was prompt & efficient. The entire dining experience was pleasurable. Eating out is not just about food or fast service it’s about spending time with loved ones, family and friends, and building memories and rekindling that nostalgic magic of days gone by to excite us for what’s ahead in our journey. The Angus Barn is a one of a kind dining experience. They are celebrating their 65th year in business. It’s my favorite place to eat in NC. Make a reservation & you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Amazing Birthday Celebration I celebrated my birthday at Death & Taxes in December 2024 with family and friends, and the whole experience was incredible. Everyone in our group had a great time. The Second Rodeo cocktail was a standout—perfectly balanced with a smoky twist that I’ll definitely come back for. The food was delicious from start to finish—each dish was packed with flavor and cooked with care. The wood-fired cooking really added something special. The atmosphere was cozy yet modern, and the open kitchen made the experience even more engaging. The staff was attentive and made us feel welcome throughout the night. It was a memorable evening, and I’d highly recommend Death & Taxes for birthdays, celebrations, or just a great night out in Raleigh.

Death and Taxes is a great spot for a 4th or 5th date (or first, if you’re a big baller), or celebrating any occasion. The food is good to great, and service is really excellent! I tend to only leave 5 star reviews if this combination is met, and they definitely delivered. We are vegetarian, and it is pretty hard to introduce us to new ways to eat vegetables. So, the beet appetizer was a pleasant surprise as we hadn’t really had such a flavor profile before. The tomato appetizer was also good. We shared the vegetarian pasta afterwards, which was citrusy and good, although could have used more umami notes. The carrot side was also good, and family style sharing is definitely possible (or even encouraged?) here. All the dessert options and drinks are delicious. Our waitress was awesome, in line with other reviews. Shocked to hear it was only her second day on the job! Upon hearing about the reasons for our celebration that evening, she kindly brought out a little pour of something special on the house. But regardless of that gesture the attention and excitement she has for the food and our dining was impressive. Since I was a bit confused about dress code before going, I can now suggest this spot fits squarely into the category I call “if your shirt has at least two buttons, you’re good.”

We went to Death and Taxes last night for my boyfriend’s birthday, and honestly, WOW. From start to finish, this meal was unforgettable. The hardest part of the evening was choosing what to order, because everything on the menu sounded so good. Luckily, we went all in and it paid off. Drinks I ordered the Placebo Effect (Zero Proof) — clarified pineapple and orange juice, ginger, and coconut. This drink was phenomenal. Refreshing, bright, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of tartness. It paired seamlessly with every dish we ate and was so easy to sip on that it lasted me the entire two-hour dinner. A true standout in its own right. Appetizers We kicked off with three appetizers: two seasonal and one menu staple. • Fried NC Shrimp, Buried Garlic Aioli, Pickled Green Tomatoes Hands down the star of the night. Perfectly fried, juicy shrimp paired with tangy pickled tomatoes and the most addictive garlic aioli (the kind you unapologetically scrape clean with a spoon). It was so good that after our mains, Adam ordered a second round. That’s how good it was. • Grilled Golden Beets, Roasted Beet Purée, Dill Crema, Fennel, Pumpernickel Croutons Refreshing and beautifully balanced. The light earthiness of the beets met its match with the creamy dill and crunchy pumpernickel croutons. A perfect counterpoint to the richness of the shrimp and oysters. • Roasted NC Oysters, Chili Butter, Preserved Lemon Gremolata These were the best oysters I’ve ever had. The warmth of the chili butter with that hit of lemony brightness made each bite sing. I usually struggle with oyster texture, but I devoured my half of the plate. A couple had bits of shell (a reminder of just how fresh they were), but nothing that took away from the experience. Main Course We let our server guide us, and she steered us toward the NC Fish with Black Rice, Smoked Oyster XO Sauce, Bok Choy, and Prosciutto. A flawless choice. The fish was perfectly charred and flaky, the black rice was creamy yet delightfully chewy, and the umami-packed XO sauce tied everything together. Even the bok choy, which I almost skipped at first, turned out to be one of my favorite bites of the night. The crunch of the prosciutto added the finishing touch to an already perfect dish. I will dream about this plate for weeks. Dessert Though we were nearly full, dessert was non-negotiable. • Grilled Cornmeal Cream Puff, Blueberry Mousse, Corn Flake Brittle, Burnt Honey Syrup Light yet indulgent, with all the right textures, airy mousse, crisp brittle, soft puff, and warm honey. It felt like the perfect bow to end the night. And because we couldn’t resist, we took home the Corn Frangipane Tart with Market Peaches and Embered Whipped Cream, which I happily ate for breakfast this morning. Sweet-tart peaches, smoky cream, a buttery crust with just the right bite, and a little crumble on top, pure magic. Honestly the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Final Thoughts What I love most about Death and Taxes is how intentional every dish feels. Each element highlights the wood fire at the heart of the kitchen, without ever being gimmicky. Everything we ate was layered with flavor, balanced with texture, and beautifully plated. This meal wasn’t just dinner, it was an experience. I can’t wait to see what’s on the next season’s menu, and I already know I’ll be back for those oysters and another round of the Placebo Effect.

The bread and pasta is fresh and delicious. The wood grilled oysters with clarified butter are delicious as they are unique. The cocktails are quite complex in their ingredients (especially one particular whiskey drink that includes mezcal and amaro combined) and there is a good local beer selection. I had the Boone County Honey Ale with my braised duck rye pasta.

They were accommodating for food allergies & made an off menu dish for my vegan friend. I got the spaghettini and felt the portion size was very small. The atmosphere was very nice. The food was rather forgettable for the price.

My wife and I had a great time at Death & Taxes. We had to change our reservation from a party of 4 to 2 after some friends couldn't make it. We called the day prior and D&T was kind to accommodate our change. We arrived about 35 minutes before our reservation time of 7:15 and mentioned to the hostess that we wanted to have a drink at the bar first before being seated. The hostess mentioned the bar was full but that they could go ahead and seat us at our table and we could be free to have a drink there and take our time to soak in the ambiance. That was a great accommodation. I ordered a perfect gin martini and always have to describe what that is. Our server took the order but the bar tender came to our table later to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted. That was simply outstanding service in a very busy restaurant. He made me two Perfect martini's for sure. I'm grateful for the attention to detail and the willingness to get it just right. Our server Caleb was super friendly and took great care of us. He was supported by at least 3-4 other staff that was always looking after us. We started with the tuna tartare served with pita points. It was different than we had before with other ingredients in the mix but was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this as a great variation of this dish. Our steaks were cooked to perfection for the filet my wife had and the aged NY Strip which was served with a brown gravy which I took on the side. The steak was clearly aged as described and still had a bit of the pellicle from the dry aging process on one age which I didn’t mind at all. This helped to form a great sear on that side and contributes a nutty and earthy taste which is great. The brussels sprouts were unfortunately a huge miss and were burned and undercooked at the same time. We didn't ask for it but they took those off our bill. It likely was just a new cook or just a bad batch as they looked like they could be excellent. Very excited to have dined at D&T and would highly recommend it.

Place is great! We booked a reservation for the weekend after Valentine's. The waiter and other staff were informative and not overbearing. Food was amazing. My husband doesn't like olives and was hesitant to get the shrimp sharing plate because of them, but I wanted it so we got it. It was our favorite dish of the night. The next day I told my friends that if I make it back out to D&T I would order 2 of this dish and call it my entrée.

This restaurant is just Zen. Ask to sit outside if you like sitting outside on the terrace. Especially for breakfast. The early morning sun and air, the trees, the greenery. I am jealous. I would want a terrace like this at home. The service could be improved, we were seated promptly but it took a while for someone to take our order. We were dying for a cup of coffee. Once we got the attention the service was great. Breakfast was huge, the toast was some display. I was expecting just a piece of toast with toppings. It was a surprise. I am looking forward to visit again, stay at the Umstead and have dinner at Herons.

We had an incredible experience at Herons for our 5 year Anniversary dinner. From the moment we sat down, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and taken care of. We chose the chef’s five-course tasting menu, and every single course was a work of art—beautifully presented, perfectly balanced, and full of creativity. Each dish felt thoughtful and intentional, and the pacing of the meal was spot-on. The service was attentive but never rushed, and every staff member seemed to take real pride in what they do. The calm, elegant setting made it even more enjoyable—it felt like an escape. Herons is easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had in North Carolina. A perfect place for a special occasion or simply to treat yourself to something unforgettable.

Took my family for dinner. Getting reservations was not bad. We were seated as soon as we arrived. We ordered bunch of stuff and every plate was piece of art. Ingredients were fresh and I could taste distinct flavors of each ingredient. Service was amazing. Staff explained us every dish we ordered. How it’s made and where the ingredients came from. Our son loved nigiri the most. Hamachi was good too. I loved halibut too. Very rich flavors. Wife loved tuna and scallops. Lobster was really good too. I had heard a lot about shrimp and grits but it felt underwhelming to me. Chicken was okay. Our son made a comment that the food had very complex flavors for his age to appreciate. I guess he is not coming back here. Overall great evening. Very lovely and courteous staff.

My husband and I went to Herons to celebrate our elopement, and it was the most incredible food experience that we’ve ever had. We did the chef’s tasting menu, so each of the courses was a complete surprise. I don’t eat seafood, but the chef was able to modify my courses to be seafood-free. Everything was fresh and very delicious. Highly recommend!

The Crab Benedict was delicious. The hollandaise sauce really enhanced and married all of the different flavors in this dish together. The crunchy softness of the tomato was also something I’ve never experienced before. We tried out some of the desserts from the brunch menu. My favorite had to be the layered cake. It reminded me of the essence of birthday cake without the over sweetness from the frosting. A delectable bite that had me reaching for more. The staff provided outstanding service from the moment we walked in, with warm greetings and attentive care throughout the meal. Every detail, from timely refills to thoughtful menu recommendations, made the brunch experience truly memorable. I am already excited to try out their lunch and dinner menus.

The seating, artwork, and lighting created an intimate cozy ambience that brought a nature theme to the meal. Even the utensils with the wood on the handles created that feel. The servers were friendly and knowledgable about each dish. I even had some fun conversations about with two other servers with the same name that I have, which is rare. The plating and presentation was beautiful and creative for the tasting menu. There was a fresh summer theme interwove throughout the meal with the brightness of the colors and the refreshing feeling of each dish. The flavors were balanced nicely and created depths of flavor. We've been to Michelin one star restaurants and this restaurant's food and presentation fits right in with the rest of them. I would be surprised if this restaurant doesn't get a Michelin star later this year as it surely deserves it. Highly recommend this restaurant and it definitely is one of the, if not, the best restaurant in the Carolinas!

Ambiance was casual with a dash of quirkiness throughout the decor and even on the plates! Mixed menu of Tapas/small plates style and entree style dishes. Each one is a modern take on various food groups and flavor profiles. Service was great and attentive. They do not take reservations and they fill up quickly so I’d recommend getting there 20-30 min before they open and get your name on the list (even for the second/later seating) to secure a seat. Will definitely comeback as the menu changes frequently!

Overall I had a wonderful time at Stanbury. The atmosphere is very fun. The food is pretty good and the service was also good. We got the oysters that come already dressed which is nice so you don’t have to do the work. The bone marrow was very good, I especially liked the greens that came with it. The fish was the star of the show, it was so tasty! The sides it came with just made everything better and I kept wanting more. For dessert we got the halva rice Krispie which was ok, I was not wowd. Even though it came with the ice cream there was an element missing from being great. Drinks were decent as well, I especially enjoyed the last word. I’d definitely go back to see what else they have. It sucks they don’t take reservations so you have to get there at 4:30 to get a table that night. We arrived at 5:30 and got a table at 8:30. Not sure why they don’t take reservations in this day and age.

Best food I have had in NC since leaving new york ! A very creative menu that changes regularly. Great place for couples and foodies in general. The service was excelent and the menu was filled with delightfull options, making it very hard to decide. Stay for the desserts. We were highly impressed!

Stanbury is my favorite restaurant in Raleigh. The food is superbly balanced and always fresh and inventive. Service is fantastic, and I love the eclectic aesthetic. It delivers an amazing experience without any pretentiousness.

WOW. Best food in Raleigh thus far. We tried to go to Stanbury at 5pm on a Saturday last year. That was a bust. You HAVE to be in line by 4:15 to even have a shot at getting your name in the list and being seated by 6. Went on Wednesday night - arriving just before 7 - and our party of 4 was sat outside (with heaters) immediately. Our server, Trudy (99% sure,) was phenomenal. She knew each dish and its history and gave us amazing recommendations on food and wine. My husband and I chose to share 5 small plates for our dinner. Our friends got two apps and the ribeye. We all tried one another’s food. Stupid good. I can’t comment on everything based on small tastes, but my standouts were the lamb and bone marrow. It was my friend’s birthday and they brought a slice of beach pie to the table. It was so refreshing and perfect!

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a special night out. The menu offered a refreshing change from my usual go-tos — everything felt new and exciting. We ordered the saffron crepe, pork belly soup, and lettuce wraps, which turned out to be the perfect amount of food for two. Every dish was delicious, but if I had one critique, it would be the pork belly. I’m not sure if it was meant to be served that way or if we just got an off batch, but it came out cold and extremely tough — we honestly thought we might lose a filling trying to bite into it. That said, the soup itself (without the pork belly) was fantastic: flavorful, well-balanced, and not overly rich. Overall, I’ll definitely be back — and the service was exceptional: warm, attentive, and genuinely kind.

First time today and everything was amazing from start to finish. Large portions and very filling. Got the chicken lettuce wraps / anda for entree I got KUA MEE LAO PAD LAO. Wife and I had this on our list to go one night for a date, finally made it and the hostess sat us right away. Gwen waited on us and had a bubbly personality very friendly, recommend several items. We ordered a recommended Lettuce wraps which were crunchy and warm full of flavor. Straight fantastic! I ordered a Thai tea old fashioned, which was made with Thai tea and Henry McKenna Bourbon, this drink was next level good. My wife ordered Spicy tequila cucumber which was very refreshing and a little spicy, also very good and too notch. For the main course we ordered Sea-bass Mok which was cooked in banana leafs so tender, very mild on the fishy taste and cooked to perfection. My wife ordered Pad Lao with pork belly, flavored with pork prefer seasoning, very authentic. This was a tasty dish. For Desert we had a sweet sticky rice with mango and coconut, Carmel topping. This was very good not too sweet. Definitely would return to and have a great time

If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience, Bida Manda is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, we were promptly seated at the bar and treated to some irresistible rice chips that set the tone for the meal. For starters, we opted for the Lao Beef Jerky paired with charred tomato jeow, and let me tell you—it was a flavor explosion! For my main course, I chose the Basil Stir-fry with Beef Tenderloin, and it did not disappoint. The sauce was truly out of this world, bursting with fresh flavors that brought the dish to life. My friend went with the Saffron Crepe filled with shrimp, which was not only massive but also incredibly delicious. Overall, Bida Manda surpassed my expectations with its vibrant flavors and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in some amazing Laotian cuisine!

The sweet chili salmon was so good. I love salmon and this was prepared in a way I’d never tasted. The consistency was superb; light crunch on the outside and creamy texture inside. Not sure if that’s the best description, but it’s what I experienced. Finished with the purple rice desert. OMG, purple sticky rice, fresh mango, coconut custard, and palm sugar tamarind caramel sauce! It was a flavor orgy in my mouth. This was our first time at Bida Manda and it will not be our last. You’ve gotta try it!!

The food was AMAZING so delicious, everything we ordered was great. Im a celiac and they had gluten free options! I loved the way they made my drink with crushed ice with a cool looking machine! If youre looking for a burst if flavor in food I definitely reccomend this fine restaurant. I had "Dad's Simple Fried Rice" and I still dream about it, the chicken broth just gave it such a boost in flavor.

I ate before I came because it didn’t open until later but nonetheless I had to try some food. Got an espresso martini. I liked it. It was creamy how I prefer. Atmosphere was dimly lit and pretty. I sat at the bar. The service was nice. Meet some cool people. I ordered the pork belly noodle soup. Was delicious. Soup is a bit heavy but not overwhelming. Noodles were on point. Pork belly was perfect . It retained it crispness within the soup. Flew from Indiana for the Billie Eilish concert. Would come back here if I was ever in town again.

We planned a visit here after an influencer recommended this place to have the best steak in Raleigh. To start the bread and wedge salad were delicious. My wife and I both ordered a bone in ribeye with a lobster tail. Where we messed up was listening to the recommendation of getting the lobster tail that’s cut up, seasoned, and put back in the shell. It was plated with the steak and when I tell you it was the most over powering garlic I’ve ever had, it sadly ruined my steak also. I had to scrap my plate twice to get the garlic off. The steak was super tender and juicy and cooked perfect but all I could taste was the sauce from the lobster. We didn’t complain but the server noticed we’d removed our lobster from our steak plate and we explained why. She insisted they get us a regular lobster tail even though we said no it was fine our mistake for ordering the other, she still brought us two regular ones to take home. The lyonnaise potatoes were not good, they were like thick chips, I wanted to ask for ketchup. We had the banana foster and it was delicious and the table side presentation was nice. Would love to try their steak again without all the garlic sauce running under it. Tried to eat it after we got back to the hotel and it was still all garlic. In short, go with what you know, maybe skip the recommendations.

Wow! We had an absolutely incredible experience at Rey’s tonight as we were celebrating an anniversary. Brian, our server, went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and did all of the little things to make our experience one to remember. We started with fresh bread and the crab cake appetizer. Our main courses consisted of a 8 oz. Filet Mignon and the 22 oz. Bone-in ribeye special with shrimp. We finished the night with bananas foster—the perfect dessert to cap off a wonderful evening! We will definitely return and ask Brian to be our server again.

Rey’s Restaurant in Cary is easily one of the best—if not the best—restaurants in the Triangle. You know how people talk about hidden gems? Well, Rey’s isn’t hidden at all. It’s a big, shining gem that everyone should know about, and for good reason. The food is every bit as impressive as the service. The lamb chops were outstanding—tender, juicy little lollipops dipped in a rich, flavorful sauce that made every bite memorable. But the real showstopper was the Bananas Foster. They lit it on fire right at the table, turning dessert into an incredible performance. Watching the flames dance was unforgettable, and the flavor was even better. If you’re lucky, you may even meet Rey himself—a gracious, welcoming host. Simply put, Rey’s sets the standard for fine dining in the Triangle.

Melt in your mouth wagyu ribeye steak was their special. So tender and seasoned perfectly. I paired a really nice red wine with it. Had the garlic green beans for a side that were pretty good. Could have used just a tad more flavor, but they had a very nice fresh taste. Had the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert that will make your eyes roll in the back of your head. So soft and not overly rich in flavor. A very big portion too. I definitely recommend giving them a try, and I will be back for round 2.

Rey’s is our favorite go to restaurant to celebrate special occasions. They have multiple private rooms that allow for a special seclude event. These rooms make it feel that you are the only one in the restaurant. The staff is outstanding. They know the menu inside and out and can make great recommendations. The atmosphere is exactly how you want it for an upscale restaurant and elegant evening. And of course, the staff brings it to a whole new level of service. Everything on the menu is excellent. You can’t go wrong with your choice. I love their lamb chops, and they are spiced and cooked to a supreme delicacy. My wife usually goes with the fillet. This is a great choice of meat, and the chef does not fail with this cut of meat. The sea bass is excellent. Don’t forget the appetizers. The lobster bits are above the mark. The seared scallops are also a favorite of mine. The French onion soup is excellent and not too salty with the right amount of melted cheese and crispy overflow. The gumbo is also a great choice. Their salads are superb and offer a nice variety. My favorite is the Jackson Square Chop Salad. The sides are family style and delicious. Our go to is the creamed corn and sauteed mushrooms. The final jewel in Rey’s crown is the bananas foster. It is prepared table side and so you get the flaming entertainment as you wait for this outstanding dessert. It is truly our favorite dessert.

What an Amazing Meal and Experience! My wife and I have celebrated our second and 12th anniversary here. This last week we came in and had a wonderful meal with our son and his girlfriend. The gumbo, main fish course I had and the bananas foster were all served to perfection! Our server had a voice and personality that was out of this world. Definitely an evening to remember. Be sure to bring your check book but it is worth it. I hope you get to meet Rey while you are there. He might just cook your bananas foster himself!

Wye Hill is such a great spot in Raleigh! The location is unbeatable — with plenty of seating, a relaxed, dog- and kid-friendly atmosphere, and one of the best views of the Raleigh skyline. The menu has a lot of great options, but I especially recommend the Wagyu Beef Burger and their Bloody Mary — both are excellent.

We had such a great experience at Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing! The views of downtown Raleigh are absolutely stunning! It was the perfect spot for dinner or drinks outdoors, and there’s plenty of space for groups to relax and enjoy the evening. I ordered the pan seared salmon, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor with the curry sauce honestly one of the best dishes I’ve had in Raleigh. I also tried their Mirasol cocktail — fresh, citrusy, and beautifully balanced. Every detail — from the food to the drinks to the atmosphere — was top-notch, and the service from Jordan and the manager Veronica was excellent. It’s clear the team at Wye Hill really cares about creating a great experience for their guests. I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for amazing food, great drinks, and unbeatable views of the city!

If you're looking to soak up the Christmas spirit, this place absolutely delivers! From the twinkling lights to the festive ambiance, it feels like stepping into a holiday postcard. I highly recommend making a reservation for the patio—it's beautifully decorated, fully covered, and perfectly cozy no matter the weather. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the holiday drinks are so good. The cherry on top -The staff. They're incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely seem to enjoy spreading holiday cheer. This spot has definitely earned a place on my seasonal must-visit list!

Really beautiful spot with a perfect view of downtown. September was our wait person and she did a very good job. Food was good. Bbq fries had too much coating and the Farmers Burger was ok. Salmon Cesar salad was fresh and salmon was cooked quite nicely. Deviled egg started was well done. They were out of a couple of beers. Not a great idea for a brewery.

Our burgers were well done for pink request but otherwise the food was solid. Service by Dana and co were attentive and friendly! The sippin santa drinks are something I always look forward to for some local tiki drinks. We loved our drinks: the frost bite was a hit with solid sage flavor, pineapple upside down of course had the best (new) mug and was great but disappeared too quickly, and wreck the halls was a potent brew - perfectly balanced for the overproof, I'll need to find some figgy bitters of my own. Amazing stuff. We'll need to come back for drink ware of our own! Fun swizzles as well.

Wye Hill is eggcellent… literally nothing was bad down to the glasses they served the drinks in. The seasonal spam hash changed my life and I will forever be thinking of it. One complaint is that the deviled eggs came in 3’s and not 4’s… deviled eggs come in pairs… WHO ATE MY OTHER EGG?!? But seriously I’m coming back really soon for more food. Thank you for being amazing!

My wife Jonnin and I visited Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing because we’d heard it was the perfect spot to catch the sunset—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. When we arrived, there was a short wait for an outdoor table, so we put our names down and grabbed a drink at the bar. The beer selection leaned lighter, which isn’t usually my wife’s preference (she’s more of a dark beer fan), but Melany, the bartender, went above and beyond by offering to head down to the cellar for a limited run of a discontinued stout. We told her not to go through the trouble, but that thoughtfulness really stood out. Instead, we enjoyed a pair of IPAs—both fresh, crisp, and delicious. When we finally sat outside, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. It was a comfortable 70 degrees with a light breeze, and the sunset set the entire skyline on fire. My wife couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the view was. As for the food—outstanding. We ordered the hummus and pita, Brussels sprouts, and the wings with Dr Pepper BBQ: * Hummus – Creamy, smooth, with just a hint of cumin that elevated the dish and made it unique. * Brussels sprouts – Fearless. Most chefs try to tame the bitterness, but Wye Hill embraced it, surrounding the sprouts with bold flavors. The charred leaves gave it a crunchy, cheesy, buttery quality that was one of a kind. Easily the best Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had. * Wings – Magical. The Dr Pepper BBQ sauce was incredible, and instead of just crispy, the wings had a deep, satisfying crunch. Flavor and texture in perfect harmony. The service and atmosphere made everything even better. Our server, Ailine, was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. The whole team worked together seamlessly, which is something we really appreciate. But the real standout was Melany. After we were seated, she surprised us by bringing over two glasses and a chilled can of that discontinued imperial stout she had mentioned earlier. She had gone down to the cellar anyway, just to make sure my wife got to enjoy a dark beer. That small but meaningful gesture left such an impression—Jonnin said it was the first time in a long while that she felt a place truly cared about us as customers. Between the incredible food, the sunset views, and the staff who go the extra mile, Wye Hill has won us over. We’ll definitely be back, hungry for more.

I ordered the goat cheese and orange salad and came on without any goat cheese. My friend had to call the server to explain the situation. Then the server apologized and brought a small plate with goat cheese. Other than that the food was delicious.

Went out for dinner and the food was so delicious! We got the fried cauliflower as a starter which was fantastic especially combined with their pita bread which was just amazing. For my entree I got the artichoke chicken which was super flavorful and very light while also being filling. My partner got the sun dried tomato pizzette which was a very large portion for one, the crust was very well done and the toppings were quite tasty. Overall I would definitely recommend Sitti to anyone looking for a nice date night Mediterranean spot.

The tables had small vases with flowers, the menus had a very sweet backstory and the server was kind. I enjoyed the salad. No wilted lettuce, the oranges were good, the goat cheese was good, the silverware and menus appeared to be clean. The silverware was rolled correctly and during brunch the sunlight in the window seating area was beautiful. I felt the restaurant was quiet which gave a peaceful eating experience.

The food was amazing, but the surprise of gratis pita made the whole trip feel like a delight. Flavors and textures shined, and the pita itself was warm, soulful, and quietly magical. ✨

We stopped by this restaurant before heading to the symphony, and it happened to be during a busy downtown event. The place was packed, and it seemed like the staff was a bit overwhelmed—but they handled it as best they could. Despite being short-handed, the food was genuinely good and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. One suggestion: it might help if the hostess or non-serving staff could assist with basic guest needs like refilling water or checking in, especially during peak times. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. A little chaotic, but the quality of the food and the vibrant setting made it worth the visit.

I have been here a few times and the food is undoubtedly great! However, the service was very slow. There was a 30-minute wait to get seated which was fine. After getting seated, it took around 15 minutes for someone to attend to us and bring water. Then it took another 20 minutes for that waiter to come back to take our order. Then it took almost another hour (yes, an hour!) for them to bring the food. And this is the case with every customer that night. Finally the food arrived and it was awesome. The manager came by and apologized for the delay. Then the bill came. They gave 50% discount and then gave a couple of Baklavas in a box. I really didn’t want any discount as I enjoyed the food. I thought it was a great gesture acknowledging the slow service. It’s worth noting that I went there on a Saturday evening and a few events were happening in the downtown. The whole city was packed with people and understandably the restaurants were super busy that night.

I’ve been to Beasley’s a gazillion times and every time I have an even better experience. This is my favorite brunch spot in Raleigh and my favorite dinner spot and it is the best place to find fried chicken with a consistent taste by far! The chicken flavor is so original to the point where I’m craving it on random occasions. This last visit me and my husband sat at the bar and we had Josh as a waiter/bartender and he was phenomenal! Like seriously 12/10 would recommend if you’ve never been to Beasley’s!

I came here with a friend for some dinner. The service was good we were seated quickly and had our food brought out quickly. We split the chicken wings as an app and I had the chicken and waffle for dinner. The appetizer wings were good but honestly nothing to write home about. I really enjoyed the chicken and waffle, I had the chicken breast which was good and the waffle was awesome. I do think it was a bit expensive... $9 for a bone in chicken breast is a bit steep but again, food tasted very good.

Came here for the Billie concert. Was my meal before the show. Flew from Indiana. Got deviled eggs. They were as expected. Got Mac n cheese, was not a fan. The chicken was good. Had better, but it was moist, crispy and season was nice. It was missing something though. Hit the spot nonetheless.

Very delicious!! There is always a long wait at dinner so plan ahead for that. It is next door to a parking garage as well. The gluten free options are amazing!! They have sandwiches on JP’s buns, fried chicken, cat fish, so many sides. The gluten free menu doesn’t mention it but the collard greens and deviled eggs are also gluten free. Everything we had was so tasty.

Apparently I have not been in Beasley's since my grandson was an infant. So, we brought him on Father's day with his grandfather. Our Grandson had a waffle and fried chicken (very sticky lol), I had the Pot Roast Meatloaf (very filling) and hubs had the Hot Chicken Eggs Benedict (we love the sneaky heat from the ghost peppers.) Our server was Cody(ie?) apologies.. :( attentive , patient and had a good sense of humor. Apologies for the food pix. I always forget......

Go this order to-go so maybe the in dining food is better. Upon eating it in the first 10 minutes of picking it up, this was not as good as I expected. Got the fried catfish with the coleslaw and fries, with sides of pimento mac and cheese, cheesy cheddar biscuit and golden rice. The most i can say in flavor out of these dishes are the fries. The mac a cheese was a block of cheese with no stretch and softness of the macaroni. the rice was undercooked but otherwise the flavor was good and refreshing, i’m just upset that it was a rice dish and it was undercooked, it’s not hard yall. i love coleslaw in general but this one tasted bitter and bad for coleslaw standards. the biscuits barely tasted flavored and didn’t feel like the flakiness of biscuits rather the texture tasted like powered mash potatoes but in biscuit form.

The Reaper Hot Chicken Eggs Benedict was exceptional. The fried chicken was a standout: perfectly crispy and not oily on the outside, yet wonderfully soft inside. It paired beautifully with the biscuit, which was a fantastic base for the Benedict.

My dining experience at Vivace was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had at an Italian restaurant, especially given its pricing. The issues began immediately with cold, stale bread and unappetizing spreads—hardly an inviting start. The ravioli were undercooked and bland, the crispy chicken was greasy and overcooked, and the gnocchi were rubbery and underseasoned. My steak ordered medium, arrived well-done, dry, and salty. Even the sides missed the mark—the caprese salad had unripe, mealy tomatoes, and the mushrooms tasted sour and cooked long time ago. The cocktails were another letdown: watered-down, lacking flavor, and—most shockingly—garnished with brown, wilted mint that had clearly oxidized. If a restaurant can’t even manage fresh garnishes, it calls into question their attention to detail across the board. For the prices charged, Vivace delivered an unacceptable level of quality. Between the poorly executed dishes, stale ingredients, and careless drink preparation, I cannot recommend this restaurant in its current state.

The Brussels sprouts were really delicious, nice portion for two people. I think it's now one of our favs. Service was great & the ambiance was really nice and chill. The food portion was a little smaller than expected but the taste was great. There’s plenty of free parking since there’s other businesses around. Our waiter was really knowledgeable and made sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely be returning!

the service was great. it was a little noisy. but the place was packed. the food was mostly good. I had the pan seared chicken thighs with the gnocchi and salad. the thighs were really good. perfectly seasoned and seared perfectly. did not care for gnocchi and salad was not very tasty. the dressing used was a too sweet for me. there were 6 in our party. all the plates looked good and everyone said there meal was tasty. if you go here you have to try the mango sorbet. absolutely delicious 😋

Great dinner with friends at this Italian dinner. Food was delicious. We shared apps of meatballs, foccacia & roasted brussel sprouts. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese and it was perfect. Noodles tasted fresh & done right & the meat sauce was good. Some folks opted for the affogato for dessert. They said it was perfect. Took off one star because they had the music cranked so loud that people had to shout to be heard. Why do restaurants do that? It's annoying. Go for the food & ask them to turn it down. :-)

Group meeting for 20. Ordered from regular menu and food was out quickly. Staff served without disturbing speakers. Little bit loud at lunch. Would have been better had we closed the doors.

I made a reservation on a Saturday night, so I knew it would be busy. However, this did not at all detract from my experience. The service was fantastic! I do not remember our servers name, but the gentlemen with a tattoo sleeve on his left arm was prompt, courteous, and gave amazing recommendations on the wine selection. The vibe and atmosphere was perfect. Music wasn't too loud, lighting was dim, but not too dim. And the food? Incredible. I got the Veal Saltimbocca and it was so tender I could cut it with my fork. The sauce had such a nice rounded flavor with a small brightness of lemon. And the Tiramisu? Absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a great date night, or just some amazing Italian cuisine.

Excellent location. Surrounded by upscale shops. Food was excellent. Service wonderful. We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and they gave us two complementary glasses of champaign. The food was excellent. They do not bring bread or butter to the table with the meal, you must order a "bread plate" which has 4 pieces of bread and a "bean spread" for $4. No lasagna on the menu. I was wanting lasagna. The bruschetta appetizer consists of 3 pieces of bruschetta, goat cheese and grape jelly for $14(!) Kinda pricey, but it is authentic and tasted really good.

Brewery, dim sum, bookstore AND a flower shop? You got it here all in one! Really great beers and the ambiance is so unique and special too. Really enjoyed the multifaceted nature of this place that makes it a bit quirky but works! I really enjoyed the Glean beer with its mango peppercorn accents that is a great at wetting your appetite before food. For the dim sum, my favorites was the Ginger Salad and Crab Fried Rice. Everything was delicious though and great to share with a small group. Service was nice and attentive too!

Great experience! Let me tell you why... I walked in to get my wife and I on the list for a table at around 3 or 4pm. The kind person at the host station informed me that the wait for a table was HOURS (I believe the time was 915pm) but they have a full-service bar, meaning we could get food and drinks there, as long as there were seats available. My wife and I got a few seats at the bar, were greeted immediately, and had samples in our hands almost as quickly. We opted to take advantage of the Dim Sum section of the menu. We got the Pork & Chive Shumai (1st pic), Duck Egg Rolls, Chicken Curry Bao & Jiaozi Chicken Dumpling (not pictured). The shumai was amazing without the house dumpling sauce and still really good with it. The egg rolls came with a house dipping sauce (not be confused with the house dumpling sauce) which made the not-greasy-at-all deep fried rolls taste delectable. The two other dumplings were good with the house sauce, but between those two the chicken curry was the standout. I tried (and ended up choosing) the Festbier (an Oktoberfest beer), the Grove (a double IPA, without the overwhelming bitter aftertaste), and the Rosecomb? I also had a cocktail that has a name that I can't recall and the name isn't on the online menu. Joshua created it and if I get back there anytime soon, I'm getting a few more! Gotta be a fan of citrus/bitters tho or ya might not like it.

Came to see the Billie Eilish concert. Flew from Indiana. Wasn’t planning on going here but the place I wanted to (next door) was still closed for an hour so I stop by for a drink. The atmosphere was tranquil. Very relaxed and pleasant. They told me I could walk around as there was a library . The natural sunlight from the ceiling helped with the vibe. Felt like I was not in some city in NC, it was like some futuristic utopia. Even had a book store . Had an espresso martini. Probably the best I’ve had. Was creamy and delicate just how I like it. Had a beer there too. It hit the spot. The staff was knowledgeable and extremely kind and polite. They even helped me charge my phone. The experience was so good, I decided to order food. Got the pork shumai and crab ragoon. Both tasted fresh, flavorful but not overpowering as these dishes tend to me. The casings of both were thin and crispy for the ragoon and soft and thin for the shumai. What got me was the pork bao. I tasted homely in a good sense as if my mother made it even though she never made this dish. As if I got teleported to rural China and lived there all my life and twice a year my grandmother would make this for the family for a holiday. It was warm, soft, and tasted like heaven. It tasted so good I didn’t want to swallow or finish the dish, but of course I did. I wish I came here originally, I would of gotten the duck but I wanted to save room for the other place. 10/10 highly recommend and would go there again, if I’m ever in town.

Really beautiful place, nice evening intimate ambience, tons of seating. Tables are a bit small and it would be nicer if there were bigger. Can have conversation and doesn't get too loud. Got reservations for 2 on a Thursday, service was great. There were quite a few drink changes, but the samples allowed us to find a few good sour and light beers to enjoy. The pork chive shumae was tasty. The chicken curry bao was a bit cold so not my fav tho the bao was a good texture. The pork belly rice cakes was a platter rather than fried cakes so I guess I ordered wrong, it was maybe heavy on the salt and umami. The chili sauce wasn't too spicy. Expensive for sure, nice to go once, but better food akanl dim sum other places.

Such a cool spot in downtown Raleigh! The vibe here is amazing- stylish, cozy, and full of character with the mix of brewery, flower shop, and dim sum restaurant all in one. The food is always on point — love the pork buns, dumplings, and moon cake dim sum. Their Matcha San cocktail is my favorite smooth, creamy, and not too sweet. The staff is always friendly, and it’s just a fun place to hang out. Definitely one of my favorite spots downtown!

If I could give the service 10 stars I would. Our server Anthony went above and beyond for our dinner. He was patient, gave us tailored recommendations, checked in at the perfect times, assured us we were clear on dishes with allergens, and remembered the little details. He was so personable and even gave us comped glasses of champagne for a birthday we celebrated. The place is adorable — part brewery, part flower shop, part book shop and restaurant. And they do it well!

The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, the service is always warm, and the food is incredible. My absolute favorite is the pork & chive shumai — perfectly seasoned, tender, and so flavorful. Pair it with one of their unique craft beers and it’s an amazing experience every time. Highly recommend!

The Southern plate was amazing. Pulled bbq pork, tasted just like pork. I was really surprised to get a table. But we were willing to eat at 5pm. We sat at the bar and the mocktails with their unique delicious ingredients were out of this world.

We tried out the Fiction Kitchen tonight at their new location. The new space is absolutely beautiful and the food was outstanding. They have all the old dishes on the menu that we've always enjoyed, plus a few new items that were great too! Tonight we had the vegan meatloaf, an old favorite, and the vegan crabcakes, a new item! Highly recommended! Plus,- the bartenders make great drinks! ;)

FIVE STARS for Fiction Kitchen, Raleigh's Gateway Plaza — Yes, outstanding vegan food that even non-vegans will love! We enjoyed ice-cold house-made root beer, refreshing (and freshly made) cantaloupe soup, plus a double smashburger with cheddar, fresh toppings, and house-cut pickle fries. Desserts were next-level — a rich dark-chocolate pudding cake with butterscotch topping and a perfect chewy chocolate chip cookie. A chocoholic's dream even casual dessert fans will love these. Generous portions, friendly service, casual vibe. Dine in, take-out, or delivery. Plenty of parking in Gateway Plaza off Capital Blvd. (See photos of food and lunch/dinner menus. I included photos of the restroom – very clean and cool wallpaper!).

We are always on the lookout for a restaurant that makes both my vegetarian wife and me (an omnivore) happy, and The Fiction Kitchen delivers in a big way. This full vegan restaurant serves up some of the most satisfying comfort food we've ever had. I'm a biscuits and gravy enthusiast, and their vegan version is phenomenal; it has the richness and flavor that could easily fool anyone into thinking they were eating the classic, homemade dish. I highly recommend bringing any guest here and letting the food speak for itself—don't even mention it's vegan. Just sit back and watch them enjoy and be wowed!

Hands down I highly recommend this place. From the great food, to the awesome customer service to the beautiful decor and atmosphere everything was a 10!!!! The drinks were amazing as well!!

To me, Fiction Kitchen is a comfy, safe, relaxing venue with an eclectic, retro feel while keeping a modern edge. First time in, we enjoyed our varied culinary journey from start to finish. We’ll be experiencing this North Carolina Gem in the future. We already thought about and decided what we want to taste there next! We were greeted by Drew and Castle, who made our stay a welcome one. Their witty, professional, courteous service made us feel like we were visiting friends and family. As we bellied up to the bar what was there to do but enjoy a beverage for starters. After some discussion of the wonderful choices, we enjoyed “The Stalker” and a “Rum Punch”. I didn’t try my wife’s Stalker, but the Rum Punch was a wondrous bright infusion garnished with an edible Johnny Jump Up. Very unique flavor with a fruity finish. Later I had a “Flower and Flame” cocktail. A sensory adventure with its deep color, beautiful garnish, with a smoky surprise with each sip. This cocktail had the “finest fizzy” element to it. Loved it. My advice is to open up your mind and let Castle guide you through her magical world of mixology. Starting with the Cornmeal Fried Mushrooms we experienced what I would call plant based fried calamari. Paired with the Old Bay Vegan Mayo this was probably my favorite. Never saw the seafood flavor coming. What a great surprise. Shifting gears we went to the Kale Fritters. Big, bold, beautiful and once you bite in they remind me of Thanksgiving is all I can say. Comfort food score of 10! Chef, these make me want for a side of gravy to dip them. The little crispy chickpeas running through this dish are little tasty treats. Soo gooood. We couldn’t resist ordering the Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread just to have with us, to compliment our meal. This makes a great partner to anything you order. Watch the skillet as its hot out of the oven. Very well done with a finely crisped outside while moist and soft inside. Almost wanted some baked beans to pair with it so we ate half and took the rest home for that experiment. On with the entrees. The Southern Style Plate with popcorn chicken was full of a variety of high notes. I had an expectation the popcorn chicken was going to be lack luster as “popcorn anything” in my opinion always is, but I was wrong. These lil’ poppers were fun and made you feel like a kid with every bite. I say they are best eaten with your fingers and some dipping sauces. Castle innovated her recommendation in, to have us pair it with the BBQ Pulled Pork and it was a home run. It was like a culinary game, mixing and matching the flavors on our forks, getting a magical taste combination every time. My favorite was a scoop of mashed potatoes with a scoop of BBQ Pulled Pork. When I ordered I simply told Castle to bring me a wonderful meal, surprise me, and she came through with flying colors. The Hearts of Palm & Lions Mane Crabcakes were yet another layer of culinary comfort. It was nice to see both entrees have either a fresh salad or sauteed vegetable component. They brought color and balance to each meal. The fried foods weren’t greasy. All the dishes and drinks had several layers of flavor voices. The staff is both friendly as they are efficiently professional. The setting is balanced with a nice park outside for friends and family to spend some time away from the hustle, bustle and trying times we live in. Fiction Kitchen has mastered extracting the multitude of flavors from their source of foods. While others drown foods in sauces and give a monotony of “the same”, Fiction Kitchen somehow mystically brings so much abundance in their flavors while creating layered complexity, so every bite is a sensory journey. A non-vegetarian opinion here. The food was excellent! The carrot dip with the Old Spice seasoning is awesome. Can't recommend it enough. Everything was really good (other than the bacon, but I've never had good meatless bacon and it wasn't over priced, so I'm not holding that against them) and their service was not only quick, but enthusiastic about their good. Just overall good food, good vibe, fair prices. Happy to have them so close with the new location in Gateway.

Graycen was an outstanding waitress who truly elevated our dining experience with her exceptional service and attention to detail. She was attentive, friendly, and ensured every need was met promptly, making us feel valued and well-cared for throughout the meal. Her professionalism and warm demeanor were highlights of the visit. While the service was top-notch, the food itself was somewhat disappointing. The dishes lacked proper seasoning, which impacted the overall flavor, though the presentation and quality were otherwise acceptable. Despite the food being just okay, Graycen’s excellent service made the experience enjoyable overall. We’d return in hopes of improved flavors, confident that Graycen’s care would make it worthwhile.

If you’re looking for a spot that perfectly blends vibrant Mediterranean flavors with a unique, eclectic atmosphere, Vidrio is a must-visit! We recently had a fantastic dining experience here and were blown away by both the food and the service. We started with a couple of small plates—the Fig and Bleu Cheese Flatbread, which had a perfect balance of sweet and savory, and the Moroccan Beef Skewers, which were flavorful and beautifully spiced. For our large plates, the Seared Ōra King Salmon was cooked to perfection—tender and buttery with a crisp sear—and the Grilled Lamb Loin was incredibly juicy and well-seasoned. What really elevated our night was our server, Lawrence, who also happened to be a sommelier. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly—offering excellent recommendations for both food and wine pairings that really enhanced the meal. The decor is just as memorable as the menu—an eclectic and artistic space that makes the whole evening feel special. Whether you’re out on a date night or catching up with friends, Vidrio has the right vibe. Highly recommend—can’t wait to come back!

Attended a birthday 🎂 event at Vidrio and had the 🙌🏾 best time ever. The staff was friendly , the food was flavorful and delicious. The DJ S&S had us on our feet dancing 💃 and sweating all evening. The venue is nicely decorated as well. I’d definitely return. Unika B. & Co.

Very limited options for a pollo-tarian — barely anything worth trying. The zucchini chips were burnt, and the artichoke was just okay. The roasted chicken from the live cooking station was a complete letdown — bland, undercooked, and barely salted. When we asked for it to be properly roasted, the host gave us looks instead of fixing it. The ambience was nice, but let’s be real — this isn’t Mediterranean cuisine. It’s just overpriced American food dressed up with a fancy label.

Had high expectations about this place but the food was sadly a let down. We tried the Hummus plate, Moroccan Beef skewers and the Cheese Croquettes. All of them need some kick/sauce to it. We asked for some hot sauce but we were given something that was again bland. We also tried the Nutella cheesecake for dessert and it was decent. We asked the server if the chef had changed recently, since according to my friend, the food was great last time. And not surprisingly it had. So overall, it was a disappointment in terms of food, but the ambience and the service is great though.

Really wanted to like this place but ultimately i ended up agreeing with the other negative reviews. It was Meh. The atmosphere and service is fantastic but the food left so much to be desired. If the chef doesn’t want to over indulge in salt or pepper please put them out for your customers. The sauces were often times the best parts of the dishes and that says a lot. The chocolate cake was spongy and needed something; raspberry sauce, chocolate shavings for texture, maybe mint for color. The mango mocktail lacked sugar, the carbonara needed salt, the octopus and lima beans were forgettable and the grilled shrimp could have been from anywhere.

Have been a couple of times to the bar and for restaurant week decided to make a table reservation. My friend and I tried almost everything on the restaurant week menu. The seasonings were delicious on the steak and the desserts were also delicious and well thought out. The interior dining area is beautiful.

Everything we ordered was fantastic. The escargot was one of the best I've ever had. The oysters in a mornay sauce was excellent and unique. For the main course the duck was juicy and perfectly prepared. And for dessert we had something that was like a pan au chocolate on melted marshmallows. That was mouth watering. Highly recommend this place.

My husband said it was the best french onion soup he has ever had! Escargot was delicious and authentic. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and felt very special- service was incredible! Wow. Just WOW!!! From the moment we walked in and was greeted by Maddie’s smile, we knew we were in for a treat! Everything we ordered was exceptional - from the Chef Board and Onion Soup, to our dinners of beef tenderloin and rack of lamb, it was AMAZING. Not the experience we were expecting from a strip mall restaurant, but thoroughly impressed. Fantastic service from Maddie as well. Highly recommend!

We celebrated my boy friend's birthday today on May 14th. I tried the French cuisine the very first time. The food was amazing. Delicious I should say. The service was on point. Every dish made my day. I was in love with my plate, my food and the chef ❤️ Saint Jacques and the chef made our day 😘

Went there for my birthday this evening. Great food great service. Everything was magnificent and phenomenal. I was speechless and touched about the quality of this place. It completed my 29th without any doubt. No one else will ever beat this place. Started off from appetizer, soup, main courses till dessert and drinks for this special occasion. Very very impressed. Ps. 10/5 stars. I loved the guy who served me today a lot. Can't even remember his name. Very very professional and kind.

The best fine dining experience ever. Our server knew his stuff.. the wine was amazing. I really enjoyed the Coquille scallop, all of our dishes were delightful. I cant wait to go again.

The chef always personally comes to the table with a special treat, quite impressive on a date. My boyfriend is allergic to nuts & seafood, and is gluten sensitive. They are always AMAZING about his diet restrictions, and very respectful and helpful with recommendations. Can’t recommend this place enough!! Very authentic European homey feel ❤️

Capital Grill is a must for special occasions or just because! Our server Kenny, and server assistant (I can’t remember his name) were lovely and very attentive- but not overly attentive. If you are celebrating something, you are given warm wishes from the hostess greeting you to the card and confetti on the table to dessert at the end. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The flourless chocolate cake and crème brûlée cheesecake were some of the best desserts we have ever had at a restaurant. Thank you for making our evening wonderful!

Capital grille was absolutely perfect! I reserved a private room for a small family anniversary celebration. The room was very nice and quiet, the wait staff was amazing. We were talking about how none of us ordered the lobster mac and cheese and wish we did, then to our surprise- the manager came in with a complimentary bowl of Mac and cheese for us to try. They also provided two free desserts with “happy anniversary” written on the plate, everything was perfect and even better than I imagined!

We had a delicious lunch at Capital Grille! Thank you to Rachel for taking such great care of us. I made a reservation online and they asked us if we were celebrating anything special. It was my mom’s birthday so they gave her a card upon arrival and added birthday confetti to the table. We had a great table in a booth and started with bread and butter. My mom had a gin and tonic snd said it was made perfectly. I had a red wine from Antinori and it was also excellent. For lunch we had the salads and then the steak and frites. Wow! Everything was cooked perfectly . Then as the finale, we shared the creme brûlée ans that was the winner. A super meal and thank you for making the experience so special. Valet parking is also provided.

This experience was hands down the best we have ever had at a restaurant. Note: We have been to all the best streak houses and restaurants in Raleigh. We booked through open table for a Friday at 7pm. The app confirmed our dinner several times beforehand reminding me. I asked for the best table the hostess recommended in the app. Parking included free valet and was super easy to get to and easy to find. From the moment we walked in they asked if we had a reservation. I said my last name and they said happy birthday to my wife immediately they knew exactly who we were. The entrance in lobby was beautiful. The staff was amazing at the lobby. When we sat down, we were greeted by a water and bread server who was super nice and offered us 3 different types of water?! We were then introduced to David our waiter who introduced us to his assistant. The service at this restaurant is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced me or my wife we consider ourselves middle class and eat at a very nice restaurant probably four times a year. This was by far the best service I’ve ever had in my entire life. David made that happen but so did the whole team. The food was fantastic. My recommendation is to go with whatever they recommend talk to them about what you like or dislike. They boxed our appetizer up and chopped my wedge salad. I can’t really describe it. The entire evening was amazing. I feel like I’m giving away my big secret, but they said us at table 13 facing the kitchen and the wine room and Eagle and clock you can see everything but your private. It’s the best seat in the house. We aren’t even going to try other nice restaurants now we’re just going to come to capital Grille. Hopefully we get that table. And we will always ask for David.

Went here for the 1st time to celebrate my graduating with my Master’s degree and getting accepted into law school. Nathan, our server was amazing. He provided exceptional service and took great care of me and my guest. After having to wait over an hour at another top steakhouse in Raleigh, my guest was upset so we tried Capital Grille and they were very hospitable and able to seat us immediately with call ahead reservations. I had the filet mignon (chef’s selection version) and it was delicious, succulent, and flavorful. It also re-heated well the next day. The vibes were classy, grown & sexy! Thank you for helping to celebrate my level up!

The overall experience was outstanding. Tonight's celebratory dinner for me was a true pleasure and Bryan, our waiter, was attentive, kind and made excellent recommendations.

Bloomsbury is a great place for a fancy dinner, a nice lunch, or a drink and burger at the cozy welcoming bar. The staff is always pleasant and kind in their demeanor. The burgers and appetizers are amazing, and salads and entrees always yummy. The cocktails and bar servers are perfection. They never disappoint.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with a Southern favorite- fried green tomatoes topped with pimento cheese. Chicken pot pie cooked in iron skillet was comfort food at its best. Franklin the server was amiable and very attentive. I definitely recommend Bloomsbury bistro. 😋 Thanks again Franklin. 🤌

One of our favorite date night spots. The atmosphere is charming and cozy (and it doesn't get too loud when busy). The service is always fantastic (Franklin was our server last night and was amazing). Good wine selection and the food is always delicious. Our favorites are the chicken pot pie and beef short ribs. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had a lovely date night at Bloomsbury! Franklin was our server and was absolutely top-notch – went out of his way help us remember one of our favorite drinks, suggested a perfect pairing of wine with dinner, and helped us select from the fall menu of delicious options! Franklin was attentive and welcoming. If you love pumpkin pie, you must try the pumpkin martini!

We love Bloomsbury bistro. Great music tonight at our visit and the chicken pot pie was amazing as always. I tried the non alcoholic strawberry lime soda and it was fantastic. My husband loved his Salmon. Thank you for the great service Franklin!

I have nothing but great things to say about St. Roch! The quality of the oysters were top tier and the service was unmatched. My husband and I were searching for a good oyster happy hour and landed here. $9 for a half dozen during happy hour was great, we ordered 2 dozen of their raw NC oysters and also had the roasted garlic butter ones as well. We will be returning, tomorrow for a round 2 and to explore more of the menu.

Just ate here for the first time and was very impressed! We had the cauliflower salad, which was delicious and unique, and the oysters/shrimp/crab combo platter — everything was super fresh and flavorful. The crackers and fixings for making little oyster bites were a great touch. The service and atmosphere were both excellent, and I loved the music selection (need to get ahold of that playlist!). We’ll definitely be back — thank you for a great experience!

Michelin Recommended did not disappoint. From the ambiance, vibes, music, service, and obviously food all around distinct. Shuckers Choice (for us Herring Shoal) Oysters on happy hour for $1.50 from 5-6pm. Most places don’t openly advertise their happy hour specials but they did! Very cold, clean, plump, and slightly briney. Loved the in house hot sauce and the mignonette. Hush puppies were dense and flavorful but not dry. The butter it came with was rather salty altogether. Gumbo was AMAZING. The depth of flavor from savory, salty, with the added potato salad to help mute/combine flavors. A touch of salmon roe on top was interesting. Wish you could order a larger meal sized portion! Pork Belly was delicious. Insanely soft and braised down, but super crunchy on top. The sauce it came with really pulled together the umami with some sweetness. Perfectly seasoned all the way through. Shrimp remoulade was well poached and not overcooked. Definitely expensive for just 7 (probably size 21/30). Remoulade sauce was good and refreshing touch compared to cocktail. Beignets were the bomb. 5 huge fluffy pastry dough style with a bourbon caramel glaze pour over or to dip. Enough for 3-4 people honestly.

So much is right and enjoyable here. The best extremely fresh oysters, lovely flavors in 'NoLa with a twist" main dishes and appetizers, calm friendly service from our favorite server Nathan (& his colleagues). Simply put, an inviting spot for couples, a small group, or going solo for the sheer joy of enjoying excellent food in a creative and well-appointed environment. When back in Raleigh I'll happily return!

After referring to Eater for places to go for food, I just knew I had to stop by this place! I learned while waiting they had a official Michelin recommendation which is such a great feat! If you’re a peach lover, I highly recommend the Stonefruit Mule. Perfect to sip on while waiting for food or even to wrap up the evening. I can’t say I’m an expert on oysters by any means. This being said, these oysters were phenomenal. Each one I tried had a bit of a different flavor and tasted phenomenal. Side note: I even heard a few customers found pearls in their oysters which is something I’ve never seen at an oyster joint before. Last, but surely not least, the beignets. Their smell alone had me drooling and the taste had me wanting more. (Shout out to a local who recommended I try them!) Highly recommend stopping by for drinks, oysters, or an entire meal!

Instantly my favorite restaurant in Raleigh. Everything is cooked and seasoned perfectly; I was only sad I couldn't try everything in one visit. We will be back for more! The oysters were delicious, even for me and I don't usually eat them raw. It was fun to mix & match all the different toppings. I also highly recommend the fried shrimp and the hushpuppies.

Great twist on new orleans style food. Their HH oysters were great as was the gumbo and red beans and rice. Came here while.on a business trip and happy I found it. Place was busy for a Tuesday night and with the food I understand why. Definitely will come back when in the area

We got a table outside right away, and there were fans. There are several options on the menu. We tried the mimosa and the iced chai latte, which were DELICIOUS! The avocado toast was good in my opinion but very small, so I also ordered the red shakshuka and the pork. I really enjoyed having breakfast here. The music was great too, and the service was excellent.

The staff was great and the ambiance was eclectic and relaxed. The gumbo didn’t not taste like gumbo. It was more like a soup and lacked the gumbo taste. Honestly it lacked taste in general. The first bowl came out luke warm but they quickly rectified that. The meatballs were good and had a nice flavor, I would order them again. I wish the spaghetti squash under would have had flavor like garlic or something but they were plain. My friend stated the steak was good but they ordered medium but the steak came out more well done. They had the sangria and stated it was really good. We will be returning, small menu options but nice change of scenery.

First time here and a really lovely experience. Food was delicious especially the blackened flounder sandwich, roasted oysters, and ricotta fritters! It was a nice day and we enjoyed brunch on the outdoor patio. All around great meal

I really enjoy everything about this restaurant! The amazing food, brunch is one of my favorites due to the amazing menu and drinks. The bartenders are fantastic mixologists, consistently good. If you haven’t tried the smoked oysters, they are an amazing little delicacy.

Service: I was welcomed immediately and the staff here were pleasant and helpful. I appreciated being treated kindly. Food: I enjoyed the veggie quiche. The cheese grits were also enjoyed. The quiche had a delicious rich and savory flavor and I enjoyed the flaky crust. Cocktail: I expected to sip on health, wealth and happiness when I ordered my espresso martini but the three beans were missing. The flavor was great but the presentation matters. Ambiance: I enjoyed brunch on the patio on a cool fall evening. There were heaters on the patio so I never got cold. The seating is comfortable and the atmosphere was very cozy. I do recommend Hummingbird and I love that there are reservation options.

Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant! We sat on the patio during a cooler day but the heater and wind blockera kept us warm. We ordered the shrimp po boy and the trout open face sandwich, both were pretty good! The trout sandwich lacked a bit of flavor but over a great choice for a light lunch. Drinks came out quickly, service was super quick, and they didn't rush us out when we stayed for an extra hour just chatting which I appreciated. They even came to fill my water up while we chitchatted even though we already paid for our meals. Ill be back!!

We were visiting from out of town and looking for a cute date night spot — Hummingbird was perfect! The restaurant is adorable, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, there is ample parking and the food was all delicious — creative, solid plating and balanced flavors. We can’t wait to come visit again!

Tamasha was the best Indian food that I've ever had. I've been to several famous Indian restaurant in NYC. I enjoyed them all, but Tamasha is even better than all of those. First of all, the foods were absolutely delicious. We ordered KHEEMA KALEJI (minced lamb and liver, covered by crispy potato and parmesan mousse). This was my favorite of the night. It combines the tradition and the creation. We also ordered BYADGI CHILLI SHRIMPS and BUTTER CHICKEN. Both of them were great as well. I could taste the freshness of the chicken, of the shrimp, and of the spices. We also enjoyed the dessert very much. We ordered North meets south. The sweetness goes perfect with the coconut flavor. Secondly, the service and the vibe were great as well. Both the chef and the owner came to our table to talk to us. They seemed pretty nice and humble. They were asking about our experience. I felt like they were not only following a protocol to ask very standardized questions. I think they were actually listening to people's opinions try to make the guests happy. My husband told the owner that he liked everything, but only one suggestion - since Indian foods are usually spicy, so if they could add Lassi to the drink menu, that'll be great, as it a very traditional Indian drink and could help to mitigate the spiciness. They owner said "sure, we will definitely work on it for the future menu. Thank you for the advice." And then he made us two glasses of Mango Lassi right away! We were so surprised. Last but not least, the decorations were very beautiful. I love it! However, the only small part that I didn't enjoy much was that our server was a little bit rushy - his attitude was nice though, but he checked on us too frequently to see if we finished, and even asked us if we wanted to look at the dessert menu while we were still in the middle of eating the main course. Other than this, everything was perfect!

Gorgeous inside and an opulent dining experience throughout. Outstanding service by Marco and so many others. The dishes are almost too beautiful to eat but the flavors are off the charts - not a single dish disappointed. Drinks were equally as pretty and unique, and tasted amazing. Even was visited by the Executive Chef twice and the Owner once to our table to see how we enjoyed everything - so kind. If there was an option for 10 stars, I would give it. Truly a gem!

Wow! Beautiful experience from start to finish. The staff is perfectly attentive while also leaving you to dine in peace. The executive chef stopped by our table and when we complimented his skills as comparable to Dishoom in London (iykyk), he brought us a taste of black lentils. The flavors are exquisite and layer upon layer as each different spoonful hits your taste buds. Truly the best experience and best food.

I can confidently say… Tamasha is now one of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh and literally the best Indian food I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in… we knew that a special experience was coming. The decor is elegant and unique without being pretentious. Overall design clearly aligns with Tamasha’s name, which means “grand performance.” Had the privilege to meet and even get to know the owners, Mike and Tina, while learning about their incredible story or vision. Chatting with their team added to the warmth of the experience. You can tell this is a deeply personal venture for them — Mike’s vision, Tina’s design passion, and the culinary expertise of Chef Bhavin Chhatwani all come together for a grand performance for sure. Now for the food… literally every plate we tried was a delight. Their butter chicken deserves a special call-out — creamy, deeply flavored, but balanced and not heavy. Service was something you’d expect from a high end steakhouse or fine dining establishment. The staff clearly knows their menu and took the time to explain ingredients, point out vegetarian or gluten-free options, and make thoughtful recommendations. We felt well cared for without ever feeling rushed. If you’re looking for an Indian dining experience that blends artistic presentation, bold and inventive flavors, and genuine hospitality — Tamasha most certainly delivers. Whether it’s a special occasion or just a night out with friends, I’ll be returning very soon and highly recommend.

Tamasha is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the North Hills area. I was immediately seated and given complimentary wine for my sister’s Birthday dinner (just the two of us dined here). The wine was very good. The hostess was professional and pleasant. The restaurant was clean and well lit. Food: I LOVE the four cheese truffle kulcha (so much that I ordered seconds to take home). Full of bold flavors. So delicious. I also loved the Dum Ki Nalli Gosht (Lamb Shank) which was an extremely rich flavor and the meat was fall off the bone tender. The cocktails were amazing and I felt them. (If you know what I mean.) Food & Cocktails were perfection! Overall service: A bit more patience here would’ve made this experience a 5*. While I do understand the time limit, as this was listed verbatim in the reservation it made the experience feel rushed. This time limit along with automatic gratuity of 20% (no matter the size of the party) made this experience feel less welcoming. I enjoy tipping generously when the service is impeccable. To me, after being seated the service here was a tad above average but nothing to write home about. I do recommend Tamasha and look forward to returning. The food won me over here! I had the most incredible experience at Tamasha Modern Indian tonight. I love food that nourishes my body while still being full of flavor, and this delivered in every way. The entire staff was warm and friendly, and Porsche, my waitress, was amazing. I was looking at the mushroom dish and, since it was my first visit, asked for her recommendations. She suggested adding truffles — which was perfect. When I can’t help but do a little happy dance, I know it’s something special. I trusted Porsches recommendation on my drink and dessert, both were phenomenal. The chef came out twice to speak with me, and you can tell immediately that he loves what he does. He cares about the food, the story, and the ingredients in a way that’s rare to see, and it shows in every bite. Between the atmosphere, the staff, and the food, I can’t wait to bring my family back very soon 💚

Loved the vibe at Brodeto the glowing bar alone makes it worth a visit. The menu is seafood-forward and super creative. Plates are definitely on the smaller side for the price, but the flavors make up for it. Cocktails were balanced and fun, and the service was great. Perfect spot for a date night or when you’re craving something a little different in Raleigh. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

A New Favorite for Us and Our Clients. ​As local realtors, we are always on the hunt for top-tier local restaurants to recommend, and Brodeto has shot to the top of my list. This is a must-try in Raleigh. ​We visited on a Monday evening, and the restaurant was absolutely buzzing. The decor itself is worth mentioning: it’s sophisticated and warm, with beautiful earth tones and pleasant, dimmed lighting. It's the perfect ambiance for a special date night or a client dinner. ​We sampled 4 different dishes, including the Oyster Crudo, the Grilled Beef Ribeye, and the side: Grilled Potatoes, bagna cauda, black olive but the 2 absolute standouts were the dishes we highly recommend: ​⭐️ Linguine al Nero: This was spectacular. The sauce was incredibly rich and creamy, but the real highlight was a unique, crunchy topping. It added a "very cool" textural contrast that made the dish unforgettable. ​⭐️ Marinated Lamb Chops: These were perfection. As someone who can be particular about lamb, I was blown away. They were perfectly tender & melted in your mouth, ​incredibly juicy, and beautifully seasoned with well-balanced flavors, and had absolutely no gamey taste. ​Because it was so busy, the wait for our entrées was a little long, but it was understandable and well worth it. ​We will definitely be back and will be confidently recommending Brodeto to our clients moving to the area. We'll be ordering that linguine and those lamb chops again!

My husband and I finally made it here for dinner and were very happy with the overall experience. For me, personally, I wasn't really excited about the idea of this place solely because of my dietary restrictions. As someone with Celiac Disease (have to eat gluten free) and following a vegan dietary pattern, I didn't see one thing on the menu that even looked like it would fall into something I could eat. But.... The chefs here are actually real chefs! They are artists who seemed to get excited to come up with something new and stretch their creative skills. Now... This is my kind of chef! Chef Connor and his team were phenomenal! I was able to get the Tomato Salad to start and they just modified it to make it gluten free and vegan. The basil oil they use on it not only holds it's own but is a culinary delight. I'm going to have to start making it here at home for my own dishes, it's that good! I ordered the Rigatoni for my main, which they were able to make gluten free and vegan as well. It was chock full of fresh summer zucchini, which was a very nice touch. The sauce there used on it was also extremely robust and flavorful. To our surprise, they brought us each out a dish in between the stater and the main to try. They just decided to whip something up on the fly and it was magical! Mine was a zucchini base, but it had some sort of chili sauce with it that was not only spicy and smoky but just the right amount of salty as well. There was also a hint of sweetness to it, and the flavor combination just really made the dish phenomenal. I asked them if it was on the menu and they told me it wasn't. I told them it DEFINITELY needs to be! I don't want to discount out wonderful server, Amber. She was not only very friendly and attentive, but knew what they could do for me from a culinary aspect for my starter and main almost immediately. She did confirm with the kitchen prior to putting the order in though, which I greatly appreciated. If you decide to dine here, I highly suggest asking for Amber, as she was wonderful! She also helped me with a drink selection, after Jordan (the head of all beverages for Crawford) had greeted us initially and gotten our first drink. Both of them were very spot on when it came to choosing the right drinks for my specific preferences. Overall, I can't speak highly enough about this place. Yes, it's a pricier dining experience. So, for us, this would be a very rare treat. But since our anniversary is next week, we just treated ourselves to this experience to celebrate. If you haven't had the opportunity to check this place out yet, you really must give it a try. If they don't have anything on the menu that looks like you'll be able to eat it, just let them know and I'm sure they'll come up with some delicious creations just for you.

Loved Brodeto so much on our first visit that we brought visiting friends back to show off food in the Triangle. The space is gorgeous. Great for date night or a small celebration. The staff is always warm and kind. Highlights: amberjack crudo (bright, silky, omfg), scallops (my fav), focaccia (perfectly baked), and the little gem Caesar. For mains we shared the chicken-liver agnolotti (shockingly hard yes), rabbit orecchiette (hearty, cozy), linguine al nero with sea urchin (yeees), plus the whole branzino (perfectly cooked). Rounded out with the baby carrots and kabocha polenta sides. There’s a lot of natural light during the day and at night it shifts into a cozy-lit vibe. It’s also in a cute area for a post dinner stroll :)

Service was awesome. Shoutout to Luke our server! Since we walked through the door we were well taken care of. Starters were focaccia, whipped ricotta, oysters and scallops. Pastas we had tortellini, rotolo and gnocchi. Main entrees we had the brodeto with octopus and pork chops. They threw in an extra order of ribs. Deserts were ricotta cheesecake, pumpkin and vanilla gelato mixed and chocolate mousse. Highlights were scallops, gnocchi, brodeto and the mousse.

All dishes were delicious and well prepared. We gave our entire order at the beginning and were served the crudo prior to receiving our bottle of wine which did not come in a chiller. The tables are TIGHT! I felt like for the servers to take orders they had to stand awkwardly between the two tops.

I had a fantastic experience. The food was outstanding, the ambience was warm and inviting, and the service was very attentive. Everything came together for a really enjoyable meal. Highly recommend!

My family and I have been coming to Firebirds Wood Fired Grill for years—and it never disappoints. The quality, service, and atmosphere are always exceptional. This time, I had the Wood Grilled NY Strip and it was absolutely perfect—tender, juicy, and packed with that signature smoky flavor you can only get from a real wood-fired grill. Every bite was phenomenal. From the warm service to the elegant yet relaxed ambiance, Firebirds continues to be one of our all-time favorite spots. Highly recommended!

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is one of a handful of branded restaurants that carry consistency in the food they serve. No matter if you’re dining in NC, FL or MD you will enjoy the same delicious steaks and parmesan crusted chicken plus EXTRA strong cocktails! Staff was accommodating and helpful, atmosphere always inviting no matter the time of day. Afternoons typically are more quiet vs late evening dinners but for either you will have a great time.

Excellent food and service from start to finish! We arrived slightly earlier than our reservation time, but we're seated right away. Martinis to start us off along with Lonster dip appetizer. Wood Grilled Salmon and Prime Rib for the main course. Creme Brule Cheesecake for dessert. Our server (Samera) was very accommodating and friendly. I will ask for her again on the next visit. Highly recommend this establishment and looking forward to going again!

Idk if the AC was on or not, but I ended up getting a sinus infection because it seemed like the air was really humid. Went back a few weeks later and the air felt the same. But other than that, everything was great!

Picked up take out from the North Hills location in Raleigh NC last night. My order was packed perfectly, even with extra toppings for my Loaded Baked Potato~~The GM Dave who took my order over the phone was truly paying attention. Wow! It was so tasty, temp was perfect, but I also knew I couldn't eat a 14oz NYStrip by myself. I saved half plus the bread and port mushrooms I had left. TODAY I was able to make THE BEST Steak Sandwich (I had Havarti Cheese + tomato already so I only had to prepare carmelized onions here) Wowowowww. Not ONLY was my Steak & Potato dinner EXCELLENT last night...but it became the gift that kept on giving. Thank you Dave & Firebird Grill!! See ya soon ❤️

We had the absolute BEST experience at Firebirds thanks to our server, Kailey. She went above and beyond to take care of us and made the whole evening feel special. Honestly, she gave us the best service we’ve ever had anywhere — attentive without being overbearing, kind, and made sure every detail was perfect. It’s rare to find someone who truly elevates the dining experience, but Kailey absolutely did that. We’ll definitely be coming back and asking for her again!

Had a lovely dinner as usual. Haven't been here in 5 years and just as good. Food is fresh & delicious. Loved, loved, loved the pepper jack grits croutons in the Southern Caesar salad. It was my husbands birthday & they surprised us with dessert. As I said we haven't been here in 5 years and yet we were treated like neighbors. Talk about Southern hospitality.

A little disappointed. This was out first visit here. We ordered the special. It was pan seared snapper over potatoes with lobster and tomatoes. Flavor was very good, but there was ZERO "pan sear". Dessert we had the creme Brule, and the apple crisp with ice cream. Brule was excellent, but the apple crisp was 95% apple with zero "crisp". The crispy granola is the best part. We will give it another shot, but we were were disappointed this trip.

9.18.25 Stopped in at Glenwood Grill Annex to peruse their offerings. I purchased the pan-seared salmon, scalloped potatoes and succotash. After cooking at home, I found the caper-enhanced salmon perfectly cooked and tangy (no need for lemon), the 2 ramkin-sized scalloped potatoes were fluffy and creamy and the succotash with baby butter beans and fresh sliced-from-the- cob corn with red peppers was a taste bud delight. Definitely will return for another helping of the salmon.

Poor customer service and overall underwhelming food. This place was recommend by a friend and long time patron (15+ years). Waitress was pretty good. I unfortunately can not say the same for the curt middle aged man. Not sure if he was another waiter or the manager/owner, but regardless, he would benefit from taking a few hospitality and non-verbal courses to better his customer service skills. I unintentionally entered into a private dining room trying to find the restroom. After, exiting I was rudely criticized by this man who instead of nicely saying “Ma’am may I help you? or Ma’am are you looking for something?” tells me I shouldn’t have entered that room because there was a private party in there, hence the closed door. I guess he was insinuating a closed door should always indicate non-entry. If that were the case it seems like no one would ever enter a public building. However, there was no sign on the door indicating that this area was off limits to the general public. This was also my first time visiting this restaurant, so I was unaware of the layout. I tried looking around for a staff member to ask if I was going to the right area, but one was not available at the time. The correct area where the restroom was located did not have the best signage. I would suggest something that is brighter and in larger font, as I know I can not be the only customer that has made this mistake and will not be the last. Upon me walking back to my table in disbelief at how rude this worker was, I went back over to offer some crucial feedback. I notified the man that it was a mistake and since he seemed to feel so bothered by my mistake, he should look into having a “Do Not Enter” or “Group Reservations Only” sign put on the door as a fail-safe for patrons that unknowingly pass by the main restrooms. Upon me respectfully offering feedback to a non-issue he made into an issue, he refused to make full eye contact with me and just kept saying “yep and okay” like he did not truly care or want to hear what I was saying (quite dismissive). I certainly will not be returning to this establishment.

The service is great! It was the lunch special that made the dinning experience went down. Another great thing is the restroom! My hubby said it was nice and clean!

We have been dining at the Glenwood Grill since 1997 when John left Charleston and came to Raleigh. It is our most cherished local restaurant. It has always felt like home. I have never had a meal that wasn’t delicious and inspired.The wait staff is always friendly and well trained. The atmosphere is always warm and the energy is always good.

This was a fun place to go for a date night. The food was really tasty. Overall would recommend for a fun occasion. That being said I typically only write reviews when I have something positive to say but we just had an odd experience that I wanted to share so others are aware because we were not. We did get charged for soft drink refills and were not told they would cost money. The soda itself was 4.50 and then we got charged .50 for a refill. Granted, we drank more than two sodas but it would have been nice if our waitress had told us we would be charged for that or their policy on refills. Also, the refills were not brought in new cups, the waitress would just top off my cup so I’m not sure how they were quantifying what to charge for the refill. It just felt very cheap for an upscale place to charge extra on sodas when the soda was already almost 5$ We spent 120$ on dinner for two, so it is not the money I’m concerned about, but just felt odd considering we were not being cheap or taking advantage of the refills.

This place is amazing. I had a great experience. There service was above and beyond. Food was good. No complain at all. Staffs were extremely knowledgeable with there food. I had everything they recommended and was really good. Thank you for a good food recommendation. Will be back for more!

I've been wanting to try this place based on the outside appearance. It looked so fancy on the exterior. Inside was a different story. The temperature inside is unbearable. I was uncomfortably cold and worried my food would get cold faster than I could eat it. My meal was good. The flounder and crab was delicious. The potatoes and Rockefeller spinach lacked seasoning. The salad was good but a bit overdressed. The creme brule was delicious. There was way too much whipped cream on the key lime pie but it tasted extraordinary. Our server Stephanie H was truly wonderful.

I’ve dined at Margaux’s several times in the past and always had a fantastic experience, so I was surprised by my most recent visit. I ordered the duckling with mashed sweet potatoes and vegetables. The mashed sweet potatoes were delicious, but unfortunately the rest of the dish fell flat — the vegetables were bland and the duck was tough and difficult to chew. That said, the drinks were exceptional and the customer service was top-notch, as always. While this was my first disappointing meal here, I’m hoping it was just an off night, because Margaux’s has been one of my Raleigh favorites for years.

I have been coming here for years. I like that they change up the menu regularly, keeping favorites. Parts of tonight's meal was kind of a miss (the vegetable side was a miss visually and taste wise). The strawberry truffle was pleasant. The service was good - just the right amount of attention. They have a nice outdoor seating area, which is lovely at this time of year.

Living nearby, we have been to this shopping center dozens and dozens of times. Therefore, we have seen the outside of this restaurant in passing but never gave it a 2nd thought. Purely by chance, someone suggested that we try it...... it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The decor is interesting: there is a bicycle hanging upside down from the ceiling, a large fish tank with really big "goldfish" swimming around, a rocket ship suspended from the ceiling, different pieces of knight's armor on the wall, a fireplace, and other diverse objects. It makes for a nice feel. There is also a full bar. Adding to the appeal is the name of the restaurant, obviously a reference to the facility's French background (French words are sprinkled around on the menu as well). The address posted above the entryway to the restaurant, 8111-111, is cute. We ordered the filet mignon, mahi mahi, a side order of French fries, and a chocolate sundae for dessert (for the 9-year-old in our group). The fish was delicious as was the sundae. Prices are relatively high, though not bad for what you receive. The service was overall very good (except for one pesky busboy who constantly tried to pick up our dishes, with which we had not yet finished). As an added treat, on the way out the door we noticed that they offer postcards of the restaurant, a nice touch!

Superb!!! Beyond my expectations, All the Uber drivers recommended other places, but Flemming's was near my hotel, plus Dakota our server aimed to please! I love every thing luxurious when I'm out playing from a hard month of working! So when I come out to play it's all about comfort and great service! He knew how to pronounce my wine and brought out my steak with sherry sauce which wasn't on the menu! He made my 3 items deal work out , Plus that pepper corn cheese spread he kept it coming, my husband and I enjoyed every moment of this service,food and atmosphere! Very Classy and upscale with excellent food! They cooks rea good 👍🏽

Our server, Heather, was phenomenal during our visit. The steak was cooked perfectly along with all the other food. The atmosphere was perfect and a sigh of relief was warranted for they did not rush us to finish dinner and leave. Also, Heather was extremely intelligent on not only the menu but promised customer service. That speaks volumes on how she wants her clients to feel during their dining experience! This was our first visit. While my filet was very good, it was overcooked and somewhat dry. The crispy mushrooms were quite greasy. My wife had the Chilean sea bass...it was the best we have ever had. The miso glaze is superb! Our server was friendly enough. Unfortunately, she did not refill our drinks until halfway through the meal. That might be OK at Applebee's, but certainly not what I expect when paying that price. The atmosphere is pleasant enough, but pretty noisy and somewhat hectic. Again, for the prices, I expected a more relaxing atmosphere. Overall...food was ok, service and atmosphere just fair. Not worth the price. We'll probably look for other options on our next trip to the area.

Great food and excellent service! My wife and I celebrated our 4th anniversary here and we're very happy with the food. A little bit of a mishap happened but our waitress and the manager went above and beyond to make our experience here wonderful. While the food you get here might not be the most experimental or adventurous it is consistent and excellently prepared. We very much enjoyed the fillet, lobster mac & cheese and the brownie. Thankful for the staff here who made our night great.

This was a really good experience. The food was great, the service was good. The food came out in a timely manner. We started with the crab cakes - the cakes were full of fresh crab meat, which was delicious. The tomato sauce is good- but I think there is too much of it on the plate. The steak was hot, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed the crust on it. The au gratin potatoes were the best I’ve had. The cheesy crust at the top was good and the potatoes were nicely cooked and seasoned. The mushrooms were also good, maybe a little more salt. The lava cake dessert was moist and chocolatey and the ice cream wasn’t bad. The service was great, he made good recommendations, everything came out promptly. This is definitely a top steakhouse.

We had a great experience at Fleming's Steakhouse. The hostess ignored us at first, but once she finally acknowledged us, everything was great after that. Our waiter was attentive, and he gave us personal recommendations or what he thought we would enjoy. It did not disappoint.

Ordered 12 oz Ribeye with baked sweet potatoes. Was awesome went there the next day to have it again. Open salad bar. Can request for your steak to be cut in front of you so you can see the marbling. Atmosphere was dark and quiet overall good pick for a date night or just to relax by yourself

The Peddler has that old school steakhouse vibe. It was our first visit, so we requested that the Peddler come table-side and cut our meat. He offered different amounts of marbling. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the sides were good, and the salad bar was a throwback to the 80s when I went to the Sizzler. The grilled bread had that charcoal flavor. Cocktails were perfectly strong and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was dark, but what I wanted in an old school joint. I wish there had been some throwback jazz playing. The service was phenomenal. The only thing I’d complain about is that you cannot reserve tables for parties under 8, so get there at least 30 minutes before opening if you want to get seated right away. The food is great and the experience is fun, so play your Old School Steakhouse playlist and get in line! You’ll thank me later.

Raleigh Institution serving great steaks in an old-school atmosphere. Prime rib is great, if that is your thing. but i loved the grilled ribeye served medium rare. Steak is cut at your table. Well-stocked salad bar, that does double-duty as a loaded baked potato station. all entrees include salad bar and a simple slice of grilled bread.

My mother expressed that she wanted a juicy steak for her 77th birthday, so I read the reviews for the steak houses in the area and was impressed by those for The Peddler Steak House. I made reservations at The Peddler Steakhouse for 15 people (14 family members and me) to celebrate my mother‘s birthday. I received great customer service on the phone call. I was even more excited when I asked if I could bring in a cake and was told that I could. Everything was set for our special celebration. We were greeted with professionalism and pleasantries upon arrival at the restaurant. We really loved the ambience. The entire restaurant was fairly dim with somewhat of a nostalgic decor. We were escorted to an area in the back with other large groups. This was an ideal setting for us. It created an atmosphere that was comfortable and made us feel at home. We were seated quickly and our hostess, Haley, took our initial drink orders while we waited on everyone to arrive. Haley was very personable and took care of all of our needs with a smile. The children adored her as she made sure to acknowledge their presence there as well. The salad bar was a hit. There were a variety of options available, and everything was fresh and crisp as applicable. The grilled bread was also really good. One suggestion for Haley is that the next time she is serving a table with 15 people that she puts a separate basket of bread on both ends of the table so that people aren’t having to move the bread along from one end of the table to the next to ensure everyone can get one. We ordered a variety of dishes. We had ribeye, prime rib , and porterhouse steaks. We also had the salmon dish, tuna dish, and various appetizers and sides. Everyone that had the steak dishes truly enjoyed it. The crab dip and chips were also good; a couple people felt it could’ve used some more herbal seasoning but otherwise everyone enjoyed it. The salmon was seasoned perfectly, and cooked just right. Having brought in our own cake created an awesome experience for us to sing happy birthday to my mother and have an enjoyable and celebratory gathering. Being able to do this truly made our day and most importantly made my mom very happy. This was our very first time at this restaurant. Everyone had an enjoyable time during our visit. We will be back.

The crab dip was delicious with fresh made in house chips, the chicken breast with pineapple and teriyaki was good and cooked to the point, the trout was salty as for the salad bar, the vegetables are all on the sides and poor collection but the dressing was delicious.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and had an excellent experience. The petite filet with the baked sweet potato was amazing! And I loved the salad bar options. The bread pudding was delicious! Excellent service as well. We look forward to coming back for other special occasions.

This has always been one of my favorites for lunch/dinner. Thus, this was my first time trying the brunch. I was a bit underwhelmed. The deviled egg appetizer sounds way better read on the menu than they taste — I was excited about the variety but unfortunately did not enjoy one variation on the plate. They were all too salty and left a lot otherwise to be desired from a taste perspective. We were halfway through our meal when we leaned of the side bar of food that we could access — that was disappointing that the waitress didn’t share that bit of information while we were waiting. There was nothing exceptional about the chicken & waffles or the traditional waffle plate with eggs and potatoes. The crab cakes were just “ok.” The best dish at the table was the shrimp & grits. Service was inconsistent…I will stick to dinner (best chicken piccata in Raleigh)!

Overall, a great dining experience! The menu has variety and everything we ordered was delicious. No complaints! We had a reservation for 2, for dinner at 5:30 on a Sunday. We were seated immediately and while more people arrived, it was never full or overcrowded. We weren’t in a rush and took our time, enjoying the meal and the experience.

We went on Father's Day so it was really busy. I'm sure the service would have been better if it was any other day. It took about 20 minutes before someone came to the table to take our order. The food was delicious, the burger was undercooked but they did not hesitate to make it right. The young lady asked if we wanted dessert but when we said yes she replied with being that we are changing from brunch to our regular menu all we have is cookies on the salad bar. So just confused as to why even ask, anyway I plan on coming again to try the dinner menu.

Such a great experience!! Our sever Liz was super sweet :) The whipped feta appetizer was DELICIOUS and they have a bunch of cocktails on draft which was cool! Came here before a concert at the Lenovo Center. Would definitely recommend!

First time visiting STIR, and definitely won't be the last. Our server Aaron was very friendly and professional. Good portion, tasty and flavorful food. I had the Lobster and Srimp Mac and Cheese, and it wasn't disappointed. Everyone's food was delicious, as well as the drinks. Great place to enjoy food with good friends!

loved our brunch on Saturday. Tried one steamed oyster, delicious! And ordered the classic waffle plate with side of fruit. Only negative, they drizzled syrup on the waffles and would prefer the syrup on the side.

Labor Day Brunch North Hills with a Charleston Flare, stop by Stir. From cocktails to incredible food, outdoor seating, open air concept and wonderful service, a must. Chefs selection of raw oysters were fantastic, clean, flavorful, and delicious. The stars of Brunch: Shrimp and Grits and Shrimp and Crab Benedict. Both were absolutely delicious and some of the best I have ever had. Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, quick bite or just to grab a cocktail, definitely stop in.

I was so impressed with their sushi. It had experimental rolls that worked so well. I had the dynamite roll. It was a little spicy but nothing too spicy. Also try the dumplings so good.

First time visit. Meat location on the cobbles of Raleigh. Simple atmosphere. I was there with a friend who is a susi fanatic so they did the ordering... I will say what was ordered was top notch. We also got the dumplings and they are very yummy too. I only tried the warm saki though they had a fair selection . Very enjoyable. I can see from my friends we will be going again. I'm in for that!

Took myself on a last minute solo date and was not disappointed! I waited about 10-15 minutes to be seated where Aaron greeted me to make sure I had everything I needed. He gave me recommendations for sake and sushi which really hit the spot! Overall, he was a great waiter: Efficient, helpful, courteous, etc. Now for the food and drink: The suigei drunken whale hit the spot if you like sake and for a glass the portion was very generous. The true star of the show was the spicy tuna dynamite roll. Perfect blend of spicy, crunchy, and flavorful. Highly recommend! All in all, 100% recommend this spot for date night, getting together with friends, or even just solo time to treat yourself!

Hidden sushi gem in Raleigh! Excellent quality sushi. Beautiful atmosphere with low lighting and soft music. The waiter was attentive and courteous, but the host subtly pressured us to finish eating before their evening rush.

Everything is very well done! It's clear they really care about the food. I'm pretty discerning when it comes to sushi but this is absolutely top tier, the desserts and small plates were just as good. The green tea creme brulee was the hightlight for sure!

Great spot for delicious sushi & Japanese fare. Very nice, intimate atmosphere inside with friendly service. The only change that could be desired is a more extensive cocktail list to complement the full bar they have.

This restaurant sets the bar high for places that make absolutely delicious sushi! Everything and I do mean EVERYTHING was delicious! If you’re looking for a variety of sushi options without spending a lot of money I highly recommend going during lunch! Try one of the bento options and you will not be disappointed. I wanted multiple dishes and this gave me the option to sample all of what I wanted to try! Exceptional service and delicious food.

We mentioned to the waiter that we had just moved into town, and at the end of the meal he handed us a card from the staff that we now have on our fridge. Another highlight is they offer fresh wasabi (costs extra). Happy with each dish we had and we'll be back.

Incredible experience. My girlfriend and I were walking by this Restaraunt a couple weekends before and were absolutely mesmerized. The ambience of orange lighting mixed with the wooden architecture looked beautiful. When making the reservation, we had a counter top option only, and while we thought it would not be as good as table experience; we had the same (potentially more) attention from the waitress who was both friendly and informative. Not only that but we were able to sit right next to each other which arguably is more an intimate setting perfect for date night. Our waitress was very understanding of our allergies and checked multiple times with us and the chefs about them. We ordered for starters the edemame with pink Himalayan salt and truffle oil along with the O-Ku Rock Shrimp; both were great. We then got the Cali Crunch and the Dillon; and since we were celebrating a new job offer they gave us the Chef Specialty Usuzukuri on the house! We had a lovely time; a perfect setting for date night and the food was memorable. Will surely return again and order the famous Kurama!

Our waitress was amazing and knowledgeable. I wish I remembered her name so I could give her a shout out. I think it may have been Stephanie. She asked if I had allergies and I didn’t hear her and ordered something that could have been a problem. She replaced the dish and showed a lot of concern. The food was also very delicious!

Recommended dishes: 1) O’Toro Nigiri - Melts in your mouth since Bluefin Tuna belly (otoro) is the prized piece of the fish. Garnished with a smidgen of Kaluga caviar (understandable but a tad disappointing … maybe I had 2 1/2 pearls of sturgeon roe) chives and volcanic salt. 2) Hamachi Nigiri - Flame seared salmon (aburi) with a smidgen of uni (sea urchin gonads) and truffle chili. Delish but … I wanted more Japanese uni! Still, all flavors blended sumptuously. 3) Ikura nigiri - Salmon roe - While the name says it all, it leaves out how firm and delightfully saline these little egg pearls were! This is a more economical choice for those on a budget and highly nutritious. 4) Negihama Temaki - Japanese amberjack also referred to as “yellowtail” is accompanied with red tobiko (flying fish roe) and is wrapped like a taco rather than a cone. This is ideal for such a beautiful fish! While I ordered and enjoyed the house hot sake in a generous 9 oz carafe, my server gave me a sample of Amabuki: Pink Junmai Rose Lady. I’m pretty sure I will enjoy a glass of this in the not-to-distant future. That and the Chef Specialty “Otoro Spoons” and the signature temaki “Creme de la Creme.” Absolutely wonderful dining experience. Exotic and satisfying although quite light at the same time! Highly recommended dining experience for adventurous and conservative palates.

Went for my 32nd birthday wanted to do the sushi tasting but the chef was on vacation which was understandable so was I. Still went because the menu looked and sounded absolutely amazing and did not disappoint. Ordered 10 dishes and 2 desserts everything was majestic. Will be coming back the octopus was my all time favorite out of every dish we got and the Ube butter mochi brownie was to die for 😍

What made this place amazing was the service! It was a friends 50th birthday and they went above and beyond!! They had personalized the menu with the birthday girls name and they made her birthday card! And our server Nicole, WOW! We all just loved her! She is the reason why I would come again! The food was good but not the BEST sushi I’ve had, but the presentation was 10/10!

Last week, we went to this restaurant to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it turned out to be a pretty nice experience overall. Let’s start from the moment we walked in — the atmosphere was great, really beautiful spot. I also appreciated how attentive the hostess was. We originally had a high-top table booked, but since we had our six-year-old daughter with us, they offered to move us to a regular table, which was thoughtful. The only issue was that the new table they gave us was right by the passage to the patio, so there was a strong draft every time the servers walked by. At first, my wife and daughter were freezing, and when we switched seats, it was me getting the breeze. So, points for caring about comfort, but minus one for seating us in such a windy spot. Honestly, it was warmer outside than it was sitting there in that draft — I think the high-top would’ve actually been better. Service-wise, our waiter was polite and friendly. One thing that really stood out — after they brought us water, they came back with a tray of cucumber, lime, and lemon slices for the water. I’ve never seen that before, and I loved it. It’s such a small touch, but really classy — other restaurants should totally copy that. Now about the food. My wife ordered the nigiri set, and since it was her birthday, they brought out some complimentary shrimp tempura, which was really good. For our daughter, we got chicken wings and a couple of rolls — the Tsunami Roll and the Rainbow Roll. I ordered a Donburi bowl. The donburi was solid — tasty and well done, but nothing mind-blowing. A good 5/10 for what it was. My wife, though, said the nigiri were some of the best she’s ever had — super fresh and flavorful. The rolls, on the other hand, were disappointing. They had way too much rice, so you couldn’t really taste the fish or the other ingredients — just a mouthful of rice every time. The chicken wings were amazing — crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Our daughter devoured five out of six, which never happens, so that says it all. The shrimp tempura was also excellent — light, crispy, and full of flavor. As for drinks, I ordered a Mexican Old Fashioned, which is half bourbon, half tequila. I explained to the waiter exactly how it’s made so he could tell the bartender, but when the check came, I noticed the cocktail was $7.50 more than the regular one. Turns out they charged me for the extra tequila, even though the total amount of alcohol was the same as a regular Old Fashioned — that didn’t sit well with me. My wife had another cocktail (don’t remember the name), but she said it had too much ice and not enough actual drink. So overall, I’d rate the food and drinks 3/5 — the nigiri, wings, donburi, and shrimp were great, but the drinks and rolls missed the mark. The service gets 4/5, and the atmosphere is a solid 5/5. We’ll definitely come back — at least for the nigiri, wings, and donburi, because those were fantastic.

When I walked in, there were 4 tables with folks, and no one at the bar @130 on a Sunday afternoon. Beautiful sky and a nice cool Sunday. New to the area I figured I’d try this place out It was only 15 minutes from my house. When I walked in I sat at the bar I asked how the bloody Mary’s were and he said they were great cause he made them. I said I’d like to have one and I do like a little extra horseradish. He brought me out the bloody Mary and you could see it was a little watery. No not vodka ‘y’. I asked him if he could suggest something for brunch. He said the crabcake Benedict was the special and he likes the crabcake, but I wasn’t into crabcake so I just ordered the eggs Benedict, again as you can see from my plate a very small plate. By the way wasn’t anything special, very little hollandaise sauce, I did expect the black forest ham because it was stated on the menu, but I would’ve expected the home fries to be a little bit more crispy considering they at least have a grill. Not!!!! So in summary, let me just tell you, I wouldn’t waste the ink to write home about this place And considering where they are on the backside of five points I guess they do get a lot of walk-ins, but I wouldn’t take the trip and drive down there. There are a lot better places between here and there.

One of the most unique breweries I have EVER been to! The menu features many gluten free and vegan options. I had the duck hash on the brunch menu, and it was spectacular! You need to go here if you are looking for something new with good beer. My guests couldn’t stop raving about it! And the service was amazing.

This place is awesome!! It’s hard to find a place with good beer and good food. This one definitely has both. Mark, the chef makes amazing dishes. I had a burger and my wife had the fish and chips. So good!! I highly recommend this place!

Finally made it into the Brassiere to try Raleigh Magazine’s #1 Burger in Raleigh! But first things first… We walked in for brunch, just after they opened and didn’t have a problem getting a table for 2. The inside was not full when we left a little after noon but it was getting there. Inside has a pleasant clean industrial vibe, servers are friendly and attentive. The menu is not extensive so if you’re looking for food I recommend checking the menu before you go to make sure you can find something you like. The Tropical IPA was great and I had a cocktail and it was good. Watermelon salad with nicely dressed cool and refreshing. The onion dip and chips was a swing and a miss for both my wife and I. The chips were kinda soggy and the onion dip was just…meh not any better than grocery store dip. And finally the burger was delicious. I would not put it at number one in Raleigh but it is certainly a top tier burger. Meaty and juicy at 1/2 a pound. It comes with a generous serving of fries. It’s well seasoned on a grilled bun topped with a delicious house made garlic aïoli, crispy fried onions, and house made pickles. Overall the Brassiere was a great experience and I will certainly recommend it and try to get back in again.

Amazing brewery and brasserie! One of the best in the state of North Carolina… And I have been to I have been to a lot! The beer was exceptional, Saturday Morning was probably my favorite! The food was unbelievable and delicious! Great atmosphere and personable customer service. This place in second to none, great job!

Food was good- it was just sooo salty. We ordered the burger and the catfish and fries. Everything was just over salted. Also our waitress was nice but not very attentive, we had to flag her down for water. Atmosphere was great though, really clean and great vibe.

"B" took great care of us on our first visit. We had a wonderful time and a big part of that was her attentive service. Thank you for making my birthday an evening to remember. The French onion soup was amazing and my wife's gnocchi dish was fantastic. It's a great place for a date night in an intimate environment. You may even end up having a fun conversation with the table next to you. 😃

Love love love this place. Chef Summer, Amanda, and Elliot are amazing—every dish is absolutely delicious, carefully composed, and beautifully executed. Their teamwork is like watching a choreographed dance. The hospitality here is bar none. Steve the bartender and Hostess Molly make you feel instantly welcomed. I am allergic to alcohol. Steve makes great mocktails and has a nice selection of different flavored sodas. Jolie isn’t just dinner—it’s a reminder of how joyful dining can be when food, service, and atmosphere come together perfectly. And why I have a standing reservation every week! Thank you Jolie!

We dined at Jolie for the first time for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend dining on the rooftop if it’s available. Ambiance was perfect for date night! We had the porkchop and gnocchi and both were delicious.

Steven was by far the most attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming bartender I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. He recommended great seasonal specials on offer and expertly paired each course with a suitable drink to really bring out the flavours of each dish. I went with the escargot and a rabbit leg special. I highly recommend a bar seat to watch the kitchen staff whip up the menu and get inspired for what to order next! 10/10

Who knew this restaurant was hiding on this tiny corner, and who knew they had a rooftop?? The food was delicious, especially the mussels in white wine sauce, and the rooftop atmosphere was pretty. Our waitress was friendly and seemed genuinely excited about the food on the menu. This was a great way to spend our anniversary ❤️

We had such a wonderful dining experience here! Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The little gem salad was fresh and vibrant, with crunchy cucumbers, toasted hazelnuts, and creamy cheese. It was a perfect balance of textures and flavors. We got the foie gras that was on the specials. GO for this right now. There was a sweet jelly on top and the flavors went together so well. The poulet au vinaigre was perfectly golden and juicy, served over rice and charred cabbage with just the right amount of sauce. Flavors were hearty, comforting, and elevated at the same time. The pan roasted halibut was our favorite, with a perfectly crisp skin and a creamy, herby/dill sauce that paired so well with the potatoes and greens. On top of the delicious food, the ambiance was warm and vibey. Everything tasted thoughtfully prepared and balanced. Perfect date night spot!

From start to finish, our meal was truly outstanding. Our server was absolutely exceptional—she brought such a fun, engaging, and personable energy to the table, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. Her recommendations were spot-on and genuinely elevated both our meal and our overall visit. Every dish we ordered was excellent—perhaps even better than on previous visits. It really feels like the kitchen has everything dialed in perfectly right now. The halibut, in particular, was remarkable—possibly the best fish dish I’ve ever had. And I can’t forget to mention my mocktail, the “Je Suis Blue,” which was incredibly delicious and memorable. All in all, it was a fantastic dining experience that exceeded expectations in every way.

It was my first time trying an Indian cuisine. I certainly was surprised on how delicious it is. I ordered a chicken combo, which had rice with chicken, a very delicious sauce with small pieces of chicken as well, and fried mild spicy chicken. All of these were certainly delicious. The bread, which I think is called ‘NAAN’, in combination with the chicken sauce tastes really good too. At the end, I received a delicious desert that was something like yogurt and mango. This was a gift from the restaurant because it was my first time at an Indian restaurant. 100% recommended! Add it to your must-go list!

The servers were amazing. The food is so good and lived up to the expectations! I went with my friends and we all loved it. The tikka masala is truly worth a try. We also got the gobi manchurrine and it was the best one I ever had. Mr. K was our server and he was one of the best servers we have experienced so far! 100% recommend!

Honestly this is one of the best Indian restaurants ever. They had really good service because me and my fam came at around 8:45 pm and even though the kid’s noodles took a long time to make they still made it for my son. Also they were really nice and let my son take 4 lollypops. Also the food tasted SO good; I cant even describe the taste! Also the decor looked really good and I was actually able to figure out whether the pepper was pepper or salt because the container had the name on it. (They gave us free sweets for Diwali!) so its a 10 out of 10.

Service was really good food had a authentic taste and ambience was enjoyable. Would definitely recommend if in the area. We got the boneless chicken biryani which was really good!

OMG! If I could give this place 17 stars I would. This was some of the best food I’ve had in my life. I had the Hyderabad Goat Dum Biryani and it was so good that i didn’t want to stop eating. The portion size was great for the price. I also had the rosemary naan and my friend had the garlic naan. Chef’s kiss I’m telling you!! But they had so many variations, I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. Our server was excellent! He was kind, patient and friendly. He really made the experience enjoyable. This my new favorite restaurant in Raleigh!!

Have been trying to get a reservation for ages and have not been able to (and I now understand why!) we walked in just after open and grabbed a table to celebrate a great week at work and we were not disappointed. The drink menu was great and I really enjoyed their European wine options (I had a Croatian crispy white that was perfect for a summer evening). Everything about the atmosphere is great. It’s elevated but comfortable, free and breezy at the same time. Loved everything we had. Highly recommend the trout if it’s still on the menu. I think some of the best prepared trout I’ve ever had!

Ajja exceeded all expectations! We went for a date night on our first wedding anniversary, and the ambiance was perfectly romantic and sophisticated. Our server was incredibly helpful and made us feel right at home. We started with the breads with feta and hummus dips (forgot to take pictures of those) alongside some cocktails. They were divine and top-notch. For mains, we got the chicken kebabs and trumpet mushrooms. The flavors were so complex and delicious. We finished the night with the sorbet based dessert. This is easily one of the best restaurants in Raleigh. We can't wait to go back!

Ajja is the first to fall into this category – from Ambience, Staff, and Culinary Creations – the restaurant has now raised the bar, challenging local restaurants to really push the envelope. Over the past 20 years, I have traveled to more than 68 countries, 33 states, and six continents. Often, the restaurants that truly rank higher are those you least expect. Restaurants that are set in more "local" areas, peculiar places, or just not in the typical outside setting that you would think when thinking of 5-star or Michelin-level culinary experiences. Ajja is nestled in the heart of the Five Points residential area, across the street from old-style craftsman homes. Walking up to the restaurant it presents an inviting local vibe, welcoming friends, family, and couples to come together in an environment where you feel free to talk, laugh, and enjoy the company you're with. The service was on point. The waitress brought excitement, personality, positive energy, and knowledge that allowed us to enjoy the overall experience with our family truly. We started with some of their curated cocktails, followed by a series of amazing dishes, including the Trout Dip, Ajja Mezze Platter, Sweet Potato & Peanut Masabacha, Charred Cabbage and Broccoli, BBQ'd Short Ribs, and the Whole Fried Trout. Rather than going dish by dish – my broad overview is that Ajja has taken some classic foods and really pushed the envelope with flavors and ingredients that create a culinary journey in your mouth that goes beyond amazing. There wasn’t a single dish that disappointed, even when combining flavors that you wouldn’t necessarily think would work well together. If you're looking for a culinary experience that truly makes the evening unforgettable, you must try Ajja in Raleigh!

This was the second time we've eaten here. It's it's really not your standard restaurant. Everything is so uniquely curated from the drinks to the appetizers to the entire atmosphere. I would go back here in an instant. Highly recommend.

We held a graduation dinner at Ajja recently. Our server Octavio and his counterparts were so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere with the open air door and windows made the experience extra special. The family style dishes were plenty and the food tasted delicious. I especially loved the pickled veggies and the roasted trout. I can’t wait to go back! Thank you to everyone who made our experience so special.

Ajja has been on my list for awhile now and I am happy to have gone last night. I have read countless reviews and I will agree- it is very good. But, it was not knock-your-socks-off amazing. I enjoyed the meal but I must say, the dessert stole the show. Flies did kinda take away from the ambience - but I get it, it’s summer in Raleigh and we ate on the coveted patio. I’ll go through what we ordered: - htipiti: the whipped feta that reminded me of pimento cheese. Really enjoyed but it was a very small serving for $11 (9/10) - assorted pickles: good I am a pickle lover and just wanted to try them (7/10) - spinach and cheese sfiha: (not pictured) tasty but not as cheesy as the title suggests. I thought it was very acidic and I don’t know if I loved the addition of pickled mushrooms (again I love pickles it was just a bit much, didn’t feel like those flavors meld together) (6/10) - coffee roasted carrots: tasty but nothing spectacular. I wanted more flavor on these. (6/10) - charred cabbage & broccoli: this one was extremely unique. Again very acidic but I reallly enjoyed the flavors. The porcini tehina balanced out the acid but there wasn’t enough of it imo, the mushroom 'nuoc cham' was really what elevated this dish! It had an Asian infused flavor that was enjoyable. This dish would have been addictive if the acidity was toned down a hair (7/10) - lamb seekh: saw this on many reviews. Very tender but did get some questionably chewy bits. The flavor was very good though. The accoutrements however: labneh, sweet pea chermoula, pistachio - I could have eaten by the spoonful (7/10) - blueberry posset: now this, I could bathe in. The brown butter tahini chantilly- I didn’t know how bad I needed this in my life. It was addictive. Paired so well with the blueberry, the tahini oat crumble & kataifi crunch was the perfect touch to give it some bite. (10/10 absolutely no notes) I would go just for this. Perfectly salty & sweet. Again, I came for my birthday and it was nice. The meal was good. The dessert was great. Overall, I just wish everything was a little less acidic! Some things were almost hard to have more than a few bites of. I’m curious if anyone else has these thoughts. Next time I would get the tagine. I wish they had 1 more salad-esque dish from the market menu.. The service was awesome though! And vibes were great. There were a lot of flies though (like at one point there was probably 7-9 flies on our food…)

East End Bistrot is pure magic. We had the most incredible evening on the Champagne Terrace with sparkling cocktails in hand, golden light, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel like you have slipped away to Paris. The ambiance was flawless and every detail felt thoughtful and transportive. Executive Chef William D’Auvray has refreshed the menu to make East End just as inviting on a weeknight as it is for a celebration. The Champagne Terrace plates, the expanded wine by the glass list, and the French inspired classics with a modern touch make every bite feel both elevated and approachable. What made the night even more special is how kindly the team worked with my vegan restrictions and dairy allergy. Every detail was considered, and I felt fully included in the dining experience without compromise. Raleigh is lucky to have such a destination and we cannot wait to go back.

I had a wonderful time at East End Bistrot! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the hostesses and the beautiful architecture. We were sat and immediately greeted by Matt, our server who was extremely caring and knowledgeable of the menu. The appetizers, mains and dessert were ALL amazing and presented beautifully. Throughout the service we were consistently checked up on by the server assistants, our server and the manager. I can’t explain how much the staff really cares for the people who dine here. Every part of this dinner was intimate and catered to us individually. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I will for sure be coming back!! Thanks East End team💗

We came here to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and as someone who appreciates high-quality food and frequently dines at Michelin-starred restaurants, I was pleasantly surprised. Given how challenging it can be for the kitchen and staff to handle the pressure of such a busy occasion, they did an exceptional job. The food was outstanding and arrived very quickly. The oysters, tuna crudo, and steak were all delicious, and the red wine by the glass was excellent. Beyond the food, we were truly impressed by how well everything was organized—the attention to detail was remarkable. Our server, Liza, was amazing and took wonderful care of our table. A big thank you to the entire team for an incredible experience! We had an amazing time and will definitely be coming back.

The first time we came to East End Bistrot was for my birthday in May. From the reservation desk with the host and throughout the entire experience we were well taken care of. After the amazing first experience, the bar was set high. We were concerned that perfection couldn't be replicated and may be let down the second time. We were ABSOLUTELY wrong. We were greeted this week with a welcome back by the same friendly host and GM of the restaurant! Truly a WOW moment to be remembered. East End has officially been crowned as our favorite restaurant in Raleigh, and I consider myself a foodie. The filet is amazingly tender, the steak au povire is great, the gratin dauphinois is otherwordly, and the brussels are a treat! All the cocktails we've gotten have been very flavorful and complex. Our servers have provided excellent recommendations, been attentive, and delivered impeccable service. Everyone truly works together like an orchestra at this restaurant, adding their own unique impressions to create an unforgettable experience. Thank you to everyone that is involved in making this GEM of a restaurant possible. We already look forward to our next visit! TL;DR: Don't think about it, just go! You won't be disappointed!

The food was very good. I would have liked a bit more options but the steak was cooked perfectly. The interior is amazing and there’s a large outdoor area for sitting as well - all very posh. Service was great, which is to be expected in a high end restaurant and they did not disappoint. Also a lot of great cocktails to choose from.

Incredible experience. Huge shout out to the chef first and foremost, for being present and assuring top quality of every dish. There was not a thing that wasn't perfectly cooked or seasoned. Everything we ordered, which was about 8 things, was perfect. Front of house matched the kitchen on every level with top class hospitality and knowledge of the menu. Our server, (I'm so sorry for forgetting her name..glasses/piercing, with trainee who was also amazing) and the girl who seating us (hostess, or perhaps manager) made us feel like VIP. Greatly appreciate the amazing night, team. Don't know why it took us this long to try this spot. We will definitely be recommending and be back ourselves with friends, as we now know this is one of the best restaurants in the area.

East End Bistrot – A Hidden Gem That Delivers Pure Culinary Joy From the moment we walked in, Giorgio (the gracious owner), Greta (the beautiful, refined manager), Lalo (the incredibly gifted bartender), and the entire team lavished us with warmth, sophistication, and genuine kindness. The menu blends classic and Asian-inspired French fare in the most delightful way. The deviled eggs reinvent the dish entirely — a flavor combination that elevates eggs to art. The prime rib burger was a revelation: perfectly cooked, juicy, and the most flavorful I’ve ever had. Cocktails were next-level creative. Dolce Gringa (a mezcal masterpiece) and the coffee–tequila fusion cocktail completely lit up my taste buds and endorphins — who knew that combo could be so addictive? Their dessert wine menu is hands down the best I’ve ever seen and complements the desserts masterfully. East End Bistrot isn’t just for special occasions (though it feels special every time). It’s a place to pamper your palate, indulge your senses, and bring to life every food fantasy. I can’t wait to come back — brunch is next on my list!

It was my first Omakase experience. If you are looking for 5 star dining, look no further. We had the most amazing experience. The food was incredibly fresh and so delicious. Jefferson was our server and he was fantastic and made sure we had the best experience. 10/10

The sushi is amazing. The “M Special” is my personal favorite. Most recently, I got the Gyudon (beef bowl) and it was super tasty. Just be warned it’s a lot of food! Also, their miso soup is so so good! I love that they offer a lunch menu on Saturdays.

One of the celebratory events that we planned for my daughter’s graduation from college was to have dinner at M Sushi. My son heard about them on social media and made reservations a couple weeks back. My daughter‘s graduation was yesterday so our reservation to M sushi was last night. Our original reservations were for 8:00 pm, but due to graduation activity delays, we called in to have the reservation changed to 8:45 pm. We didn’t have any complications changing the time. We arrived a bit earlier than expected; however, our table was not yet ready, so we went across the street to another restaurant to have some drinks. We came back at exactly 8:45 pm, but our table was still not ready. We ended up waiting another 15 to 20 minutes before our table was ready. The ambience in this restaurant was nice and had a modernized feel and look. It is not a spacious restaurant. We ordered several things from the menu: Small Plates - Edamame and Scallops; Maki - Truffle Seared Tuna, M Special, Spider Roll, Dynamite Roll, and California Roll; Nigiri - Shime Saba House Cured Japanese Mackerel; Specialty Drinks. No one in our party liked the scallops. They did not taste fresh and did not have the seafood flavor. It was a bit bland and the texture seemed off. It was a little better with the sauce but still nothing that was appealing to anyone at the table. The edamame was good, but needed some sea salt on the top or mixed in consistently as only the ones on the bottom had the flavor of sea salt. The Maki we enjoyed. While they all tasted good, our favorites were the Truffle Seared Tuna, the Dynamite Roll, and the M Special. The Truffle Seared Tuna was unbelievable. It tasted fresh and was the most flavorful of all the other Maki. My ultimate favorite dish of the night was the Nigiri Shime Saba House Cured Japanese Mackerel. This was hands-down the most flavorful and best tasting dish. The texture was perfect, and it almost felt like it melted in your mouth. It was incredibly good. Overall, we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered with the exception of the scallops. The next time I visit this restaurant, I will definitely be getting a double portion of the mackerel nigiri.

Best Omakase I've ever had !! Each dish was carefully curated, all the flavors melting and blending into a wonderful experience. Our server was amazing and knowledgeable, offering tips and ways to maximize our experience and guiding us through each dish. This is hands down one of the best restaurants in the area !

Service and food are fast and fresh. We had sushi deluxe specials that were perfect. Plus the gyudon beef over rice and it was delicious. Also a crispy rice appetizer. Fish was great. New beer on tap was really good hoppy haze.

Hands down the best sushi in the area. Authentic, fresh, and the experience - everything was perfect. I got nigiri omakase and everything was delicious. Every fish cuts were very high quality, and every piece had the perfect balance of acidity. I can have their chawanmushi all day as well 😂☺️ Our server was wonderful too - wish I knew her name. I loved the sake that was paired with our omakase and it was the one our server recommended us! For a “even better” experience, I recommend making a reservation at a bar area! Anyways all in all, highly recommended! 🤍 will be back definitely.

Highly recommend this delicious place. The fish here is so fresh! The edamame came out steaming. The caviar nigiri is delicious!! Also liked the yellowtail and crispy rice. Our waitress Ning Ning was very knowledgeable about the menu, professional, and helpful. Would definitely eat here again! They have a vegetarian bento box too!!

I’ve dined at Village Tavern in North Hills on several occasions, but this particular visit was exceptional and absolutely worth highlighting. From the moment we were seated, our server Emma made the experience memorable. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her genuine personality and attentive service were the perfect complement to a wonderful meal. It’s rare to find a server who strikes the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism, but Emma nailed it. We started with appetizers for the table, and let me just say—Village Tavern knows how to kick off a meal. The Korean Fried Cauliflower was the perfect marriage of sweet and spicy with an irresistible crunch that had everyone reaching for more. We also shared the spring rolls, which were bursting with flavor. I decided to mix the peanut sauce with the sweet & sour sauce, and let me tell you—it was a game-changer! That combo was next-level delicious. One thing I’ve always appreciated about Village Tavern is their commitment to quality—everything is made in-house and from scratch, and you can truly taste the difference. For my entrée, I stuck with my go-to favorite: the Meatloaf. It’s hearty, comforting, and seasoned to perfection. The mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful, and I always request extra gravy because, honestly, it ties everything together beautifully. Paired with a glass of Hearst Ranch Red Blend, it’s a combination that never misses. My dining companions were equally impressed. One ordered the pork chop, which was incredibly tender and packed with bold flavor. The chutney on top added just the right touch of sweetness and complexity. Another guest had the Braised Short Rib—not my personal favorite, but it was undeniably rich and flavorful. The carrots arrived slightly after the dish, but they were cooked perfectly and well worth the wait. Dessert was the cherry on top of an already incredible meal. The peanut butter pie was indulgently rich and sweet, while the warm butter cake stole the show and quickly became a table favorite. To top it all off, Village Tavern offers convenient parking directly below the restaurant, making the experience seamless from start to finish. You just park, take the escalator up, and you’re steps away from a fantastic dining experience. All in all, Village Tavern continues to impress, but this visit truly stood out. Exceptional service, scratch-made dishes, and a cozy yet upscale atmosphere make this a must-visit spot in North Hills. We’ll definitely be back—and next time, we’re asking for Emma again!

Food was tasty. Husband got the brick chicken which he said was good but the size is the chicken pieces were a lot smaller than expected. I had spaghetti squash. However, the best part of the meal was the dessert. The warm butter cake was so yummy!

I really enjoyed a late lunch here. Big thank you to Jessica for her amazing service. She was an absolute pleasure. The wait for food wasn't long and the food was really good. When we had to wait a little longer for some items and Jessica checked in and let us know just a few more minutes. The Manager also stopped to check on my table a few times, I didn't catch her name, but she was awesome as well. I really enjoyed everything I ordered. Specially the steak and brussel sprouts were delicious, I highly recommend those items. I will definitely return and would recommend everyone give this place a try.

Wanted to go to RH for the tenth time, but thought I’d give this a try. Went here with our best friends. Server was very patient and informative. Pointed us in the right direction with choice. Best was ahi sashimi and cauliflower appetizer.

We went there for a casual friday night dinner with no reservations. Our overall dining experience was great. I am very happy with customer service provided by the team. Beside we had small issue with our food and this team handle it with a exceptional courtesy. I will be recommending this place just for this good team and will be returning for more good food.

As someone who used to eat at Village Tavern in Winston Salem, I’m so so glad there is a Raleigh location! Everything tonight was amazing from the warm crab dip, a perfectly cooked filet, and the ooey gooey butter cake with fruit to end. The atmosphere is elegant and refined while still cozy and warm. Joseph is also a great server! We will definitely be returning.

I love the idea of this Tavern in North Hills, and it’s almost always booked, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype we heard about it. The atmosphere is nice and there’s a decent amount of bar seating if there aren’t available tables. The drinks were good, but there were so many bartenders that it got confusing and distracting. The food was mid, like just OK. The pizza was average, the shrimp were the best thing we tried. The veggie burger contained 18+ ingredients, but just lacked that savory bite I was looking for. The person next to me ordered carpaccio and seemed to love it though, so maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. I plan to try it again, but $100 for lunch and drinks for two is a lot to gamble on. I plan to at least go back for cocktails. EDIT: we’ve been back several times, and I’m so glad we did. The steaks, potatoes, salads, and desserts are great! It’s still pricey, but not compared to other steak houses in Raleigh. The sangria is my favorite cocktail. And always great service.

I have to say they really know about their food. They make their pasta in-house, and selection is good. She explains everything in a menu and how it was made and cooked. I'm really impressed! Great selection of cocktails and great selection of foods. I get Tagliatella (bolognese, parmigiano reggiano), which is good. My kudos to great and friends staff!

The main part it's all about the food... Burrata appetizer was good the cocoa nibs what's a great idea. The gin cocktail was awesome. The pasta dishes were so salty they were almost inedible. I love salt. So if I'm commenting, it's a real thing. There was a lack of protein options. It felt a little cold and not just the temperature...

A few weeks ago, we checked out this restaurant to grab some pasta—and we were seriously blown away by how good it was. When we got there, we ordered drinks and they came out pretty quickly. Then out of nowhere, it started pouring—like 10–15 minutes of heavy rain. They offered to let us come inside and wait it out, which was super nice. We hung out for a bit, and right when we went back outside, our food came out almost immediately. I ordered the carbonara, and it was amazing—super flavorful, cooked just right. I honestly don’t remember what my wife ordered, but you can see it in the photo we took. For dessert, we had the tiramisu. It wasn’t mind-blowing, but it was still tasty—definitely not bad. As for the cocktail, my wife thought it was kind of bland—not really her thing. But overall, we had a really great experience and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Small, cute, overpriced shop to check out while you wait to be seated. Nice atmosphere. Food was okay, but not good enough at this price point. Service started out well but became progressively slower. As we were trying to leave, they charged us for someone else's meal, and it took quite awhile for the staff to correct the ticket. Eventually, they did figure it out. At the end of the day, there are plenty of delicious places to eat in the area at reasonable prices. You're better off trying somewhere else.

This place is a hidden gem. Food was amazing. Rotating menu. Food was AMAZING. Servce was great and unrushed. Will be coming again and again. Recommend the taragine and capelle (i definetly spelled it wrong). A great date night loacation or place for a cozy home cooked meal). Enjoyed the scallops with okra. If the decor/building were more "POSH", then this place would definetly be Michelin rated/star'd.

Figulina was an unexpected gem: vibrant, fresh, and full of flavor. Our party of four shared several dishes, and honestly, most of them knocked it out of the park. I’d highly recommend eating family style. Because sharing is caring, especially when it comes to carbs. The ramp pesto pasta was the unanimous favorite- bright, herby, and layered with flavor. The rainbow raviolo with butternut squash and corn sauce was rich and comforting without being heavy. And the crab pasta in red sauce was surprisingly tasty, maybe not as bold on crab flavor as expected, but still delicious and perfectly sauced. There are tons of vegetarian options, and they’re far from boring. Each one felt creative, satisfying, and beautifully plated. The only miss was the scallop crudo. It lacked flavor, and the scallops were chewy. possibly cut too thick or not citrus-cured long enough? Either way, it didn’t match the easy style and fun flavor of the other dishes. The carbonara with mafaldine was a standout too. A fun take on a classic with great texture. This is a place where you taste the care in the ingredients and prep. Handmade pasta, thoughtful flavors, and a menu that doesn’t lean too hard on trends. We’d absolutely return.

Farm to Table Italian cuisine with Southern Twist, with the perfect combination of ingredients and Flavors I had the opportunity to dine at Figulina in Raleigh, NC, which offers freshly made pasta with strong Italian influences, bringing in new flavors, ingredients, and spices. The overall restaurant created an atmosphere that catered to a variety of patrons, including couples/dates, families, business colleagues, and small to large groups, with an equally spacious outside patio. The service was also a step above the rest, with curated descriptions of all the cuisines and attention to detail. They surely made the night one to remember and a reason to come back. Having traveled the globe to over 69 countries, including spending an extensive period in Italy, what really impressed me was how they took very Italian-inspired dishes but made them more elaborate and exciting for a one-of-a-kind tasting experience. We started with some appetizers and small plates, which included #1 Stuffed dates with Gorgonzola Dolce, Medjool dates, hazelnuts, hot honey, #2 Whipped ricotta with roasted muscadine, prosciutto, pickled celery, farro piccolo, and verjus, and #3 House Focaccia. The Stuff Dates was a combination of the deep sweetness of the dates, soft creaminess, and flavor from the gorgonzola, complemented by the crunchy hazelnut, and the sweetness of the honey, which produced an amazing one-bite, flavorful experience. The Whipped Ricotta goes beyond sophisticated with its rich ricotta at the bottom, farro for texture and traction, roasted muscadines that burst like little pockets of jam, and prosciutto bits for a slight salty-sweet flavor, leaving you with the desire for more. Finally, the focaccia wasn't really groundbreaking. In fact, I have had much better focaccia in other places – it wasn't exactly worth eating as it just fills up your stomach unnecessarily. We followed up with 3 entrees: #1 Rigatoni with red wine–braised eggplant, capers, oyster mushroom, and bottarga crumb, #2 Triangoli with braised guinea hen, sweet pepper tagine, charred okra, goat lady chèvre, preserved lemon, toasted pistachio, and #3 Mafaldine alla carbonara with guanciale and pecorino romano. The Rigatoni was an intricate pasta dish with a red wine braise that softened the eggplant to a silky, confit consistency, featuring subtle tannic complexity, capers that brought flashes of saltiness, and oyster mushrooms that introduced a satiny, woody texture that played off the eggplant. The bottarga crumb is the coup de grâce: sea salt salinity and sandy crunch that sticks to rigatoni ridges, salting each bite. The Triangoli was an excellent blend of Mediterranean and North African flavors, with the triangoli laminated and cooked just past al dente to accommodate the tangy chèvre's tanginess and creaminess inside. The guinea hen provides a juicy, savory, and spiced flavor profile, while the sweet pepper tagine adds warmth and sweetness. The charred okra brings smokiness and a faint grassy note, and the accompaniment of preserved lemon provides the perfect combination of sweet, savory, and citrus. There was a minor execution issue with the dish. It was too spicy. Unfortunately, when using fresh ingredients from local farms, there are always challenges in what you will receive. They believe that the peppers may have added too much spice to the dish, which made it a little overpowering. While the Mafaldine alla carbonara was a perfected classic, with the silkiness of the fresh pasta, the emulsion of the egg, and the pecorino romano, it also brought a feeling of refreshment with each rich bite. I found the dish to be a little lackluster in terms of complexity. I feel that this dish could have added dimension to make it more interesting with some different garnishes or added flavor elements, such as caramelized onions, wild mushrooms, peas, or even more impactful pancetta, which could elevate this dish to the next level.

Excellent but somewhat pricy restaurant in North Hills that has a unique vibe. This place certainly does mix sushi with its hamburgers on the menu along with an extension bar and drink menu. Very colorful and fun decor. Service was outstanding, helpful and efficient. Unfortunately my sister made the “mistake” of mentioning her upcoming birthday so there was a bit of a celebration that was definitely different from other places. Everyone was happy with their burgers and they were cooked perfectly, although they are stacked high so be prepared for it to be messy. The sushi was expensive for what you got and unfortunately was average compared to other places that focus solely on sushi in the area. You will most likely need to park in one of the garages so be attentive because it is somewhat easy to get misdirected if you are not familiar with the area. Definitely worth a visit if you want to try something different. There are many variations of burgers and you can of course build a custom burger. I was able to modify the burger I ordered, no issues whatsoever.

We celebrated a birthday here, 7 people. Our server Edgar was great! Our orders were correct and his suggestions were on point. All our orders came out at the same time and our glasses were always full. Overall great experience.

I remember reading an article about a unique restaurant where you could get burgers and sushi. So when I was visiting Raleigh's North Hills for my birthday and saw The Cowfish, I knew I had to visit. Tucked underneath a large financial building and surrounded by shops and retail, The Cowfish really mooves you. As you walk in, to the right, you see ample covered outdoor seating and a lively interior. Past the check-in counter wrap tons of tables and booths and a huge central bar. The service here is amazing whether you are dining in or taking out. The food is what really wows you. My wife and I picked two to-go bento boxes, with sliders, sushi rolls, 🍟 fries, 🫛 edamame, and pickled vegetables. They were both delightful. You can also pick from multiple salads, tons of sushi and rolls, and chicken and beef dishes. This location also had ♿ handicap accessible seating, 🅿️ parking, and 🚻 restrooms.

My buddy took me here on a trip to Raleigh. I had some tuna and avocado appetizers. Then I had a seared filet role with Miso mayo and all the sushi flavors. I loved the ambiance here as well. One of the paintings featured and Elvis-themed sumo wrestler. Sure! Why not?

First time here and first impressions were mixed. We were seated on the tented patio and being a rainy day, thought it might be cold. Not the case as they had overhead heaters in place, making it comfortable. Our server gave a good first impression but that quickly deteriorated once we realized she appeared unable to focus at keeping on top of her tables: she forgot our drinks, took an exceedingly long time to come back to take our orders and talked too fast and too much. She was pleasant enough, but know your audience. We waited about 35-40 minutes too long for our food-which was tasty and our shared dessert was heavenly! Not a bad place overall.

This place is a vibe. Great burgers and inventive sushi! Reasonable prices with speedy and friendly service. Will be back!

Such a cool little spot! Very unique burgers paired with sushi in bento boxes. We loved that all the burgers, rolls and sides are interchangeable. Best tuna nigiri I’ve had recently! Excited for the next visit already.

I'm visiting North Carolina and my boyfriend suggested Big Ed's for the country style breakfast. He easily found street parking nearby. It is first come first serve, but the line went very quickly. We maybe waited five minutes for a table. The service here is 10/10. Our waitress was the sweetest, but honestly everyone was nice. Southern hospitality at its finest! I also loved the decor. It definitely falls in line with a good ole country southern restaurant. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed the spicy sausage on my breakfast biscuit. The biscuit itself was a bit dense, but still buttery. The eggs were cooked to perfection. I had a few bites of my cheese grits and they were cooked well. I like my grits thicker, but that's a personal preference and I had to add a good amount of salt. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and i definitely would return!

This is a great place to get a filling and delicious meal. The service was excellent. Big Ed’s has a cool local vibe, full of quirky and charming decorations and signs. The portions are generous and the prices are great. I was just visiting Raleigh but if I lived anywhere nearby I would definitely gain weight! And I wouldn’t regret it! The menu is extensive and I had a hard time making a choice, but I had the fried catfish with eggs, grits and a biscuit. It was a little too much but I ate it all and felt great afterwards. Next time I’m in Raleigh, Big Ed’s will be one of my first stops.

If you are a local or traveling to Raleigh do yourself a favor and stop in! The food was so good that the plate was cleared completely off!! The catfish was cooked to perfection and left a lasting taste and memory all day unto the night. Our waitress Kathy was the best hands down when we go again we would request her by name. She made us feel right at home and it was not an act she genuinely loves the customers she treated every table like they were family. Please tell me you’re still reading this review because you’re on your way to the restaurant! The surrounding downtown area is suited perfectly for all people! There is a place for your dog, your kids, or jump on a scooter! You won’t regret coming to Big Ed’s! If I could rate higher than 5 stars it would be 10/10

Got the food everything was what we ordered, but the grits were cold and the food was also it was like they waited till all the food got prepared then brought it out as a cook. You don’t do that whatever you have ready first go ahead and take it out so people can start eating. Don’t wait till you get everything prepared then bring it, Lord even the grits were cold. They Didn’t have no smoke on them. You got to turn the fire up. Make everything hot coming to the table. pancake was bigger than the plate. Four people could eat off that come on Big Ed’s Got to do better if you want some business.

Visited Raleigh for a day and had the pleasure of stumbling upon this place. There was a line but I waited for, at most, ten minutes. The staff were all extremely friendly and embodied that southern hospitality. I ordered coffee and the western omelette with home fries and a biscuit. The coffee was strong and rich in flavor while the omelette was fresh and full of veggies and meat. The biscuit stole the show as it was fluffy, fresh, and delicious. Home-fries were basic, but when you have a great omelette, it doesn’t take away from the meal. Above all, my total was $13.50!! I was pleasantly surprised because in VA the same meal would cost me $20 and not be nearly as fresh. 5 stars! I cant wait to visit again.

First of all our server was very nice and cordial. So I’ve been here many times. But today was a disappointing lunch. I had the Blue plate special with cornbread and meatloaf and mac & cheese, and snap beans. And the blueberry cobbler for dessert. The meatloaf was salty and dry, the mac & cheese was dry, tasted out of a box and the cornbread was like Jiffy cornbread. The cobbler was okay but sort of dry too Have they changed their food supply service or the chefs? The cornbread used to be warm and like out of a skillet and today it was a very thin piece like out of a box. Just wanted to know what happened? They also charge you for using your debit card. I do hope that they can try and improve this. And I wasn’t the only one at our table of 3 that noticed it. I was so looking forward to a home-cooked comfort food that was fresh. Today it was not. I’m hoping that it was just an odd happening. And maybe it depends on the day of the week you go.

I got EXACTLY what I was craving. Sausage gravy and biscuits (which I’m pretty sure were homemade)and the sweet tea was absolutely perfect. I also got the catfish even though the breading completely fell off of it , it was still pretty freaking good
