If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Baked Empanadas - Carolina. This charming eatery offers an array of empanadas that showcase the rich flavors of South America. From classic varieties to unique house creations and veggie options, each bite is a celebration of taste. The fluffy, fried cheese empanadas are particularly noteworthy, often dusted with sugar for that perfect sweet-savory balance.
Nice looking new empanadas place. Great food, great juices and nice staff. We tried out different types of empanadas Classic, house, veggie All were delicious. 10/10 would come here again👍

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Baked's delivery service. The food arrived promptly and was still as amazing as if it had been served fresh at the restaurant. The flavors were exceptional, and the house empanada was delicious. I'm thoroughly impressed with the seamless delivery experience and the outstanding quality of the food.

Nice lunch spot near Parque Carolina! Champion pizza was excellent, as was mora juice. The server was very attentive, helpful, and patient as our group of 5 figured out what to order.

At ANDES DE FUEGO, you can indulge in the delightful experience of savoring authentic Argentinian pizzas and empanadas. Among their offerings, you'll find the famous empanadas de viento, a beloved Ecuadorian treat known for their light and airy texture. These delicacies feature a soft dough that is filled with just enough cheese to create a spongy yet crispy bite when fried.
One of my favorite pizza joints in Quito. Only wish they had a restaurant in La Floresta or La Carolina. The empanadas are great too.

My Hawaiian pizza was pretty good, maybe a little pricey. My friends empanadas were great (especially the caramelized onion) and cute with the restaurant logo branded on it. Great vibe inside, and they have a generator to stay open during blackouts. They were out of brownies:(

Best empanadas in all of Quito. the restaurant is very cute and the prices are reasonable. Empanadas are made fresh everytime. Don't hesitate to come here!

(Translated by Google) Intimate. That's the word I would use to describe this place because it's small, cozy, and quiet. If you're looking for a getaway from the city to a very peaceful place, this is the place. You could go with your wife, girlfriend, or friend; you could also take them to your grandparents' house or just chat with your partner. About the food? I can vouch for the empanadas, because I always order them. They're made to order, and even though they're small, they're also filling. I don't know how they do it, but after two or three, you're already full. They're made to order, so they're fresh, with excellent dough and filling.

Great place with charming atmosphere and excellent staff. Enjoyed the potato soup and goat stew.

Eddy is a fantastic waiter and made sure that I had a lovely evening. It must be off season as I was the only one in the restaurant. I stuck to the local cuisine ordering the cheese, potato and avocado soup and goat dish. I mean, they were okay but not unreal. The gut had a lot to be desired but overall it was a pleasant evening and I was looked after

Nice location and setting in a typical casona. Ordered the seco de chivo (goat), size was a bit small for the price but quality good and service very good.

We only spent one day in Quito and we came here for coffee mid morning and loved it so much that we came back for dinner. We had the most amazing service, coffee, and then at dinner we had wonderful mussels and an excellent bottle of brut rose. This place has a beautiful atmosphere. Very upscale without being super expensive. I highly recommend it.

Great location and good looking interior. Enjoyed our meal here, tried many Ecuadorian foods which were new to us. But the prawn ceviche was rather tough, and the sliced pork with passion fruit sauce was so tough that I had to leave half of it on the plate.

(Translated by Google) I ordered frozen empanadas to fry, they offer 6 for $9.95 (expensive) but I still ordered, I didn't pay attention to the product they gave me (because I trusted whoever delivered), I was in a hurry and they put everything in a bag and then in a box (not even possibility to review) and when I got home I realized that they gave me 5 extremely thin empanadas, all broken and apart with no filling and the taste not pleasant either. I don't recommend this place.

(Translated by Google) I ordered some empanadas and half a liter of morocho for $15 USD through Uber Eats, a complete SCAM... the morocho is disgusting, I never believed that someone could liquefy manure with milk and that it would result in a horrible white paste... I didn't even give myself the cost of trying it but I think it tasted rancid... but that's not the worst. The empanadas had a strange taste, the cheese was totally sour (damaged) this place must immediately improve its quality of food... the price does not seem appropriate to the quality of the service they offer. What they sent me for delivery -I know that the morocho ones always have an excess of oil but you missed that the bottom empanadas were watery from the oil that had come out of the top ones. -I come back and repeat, terrible experience in delivery because if I was in the restaurant I would send it back immediately) (Original) Empanadas ¿rellenas de carne?

This was hands down one of the best places I’ve been. I probably went here every day for two weeks. The chicken empanadas were magical. They gave me a sauce in a bag, I don’t know what it was but it was fantastic. I also heard the song “Quitate Tu pa Ponerme yo” for the first time here. Good time

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Empanadas de Verde. Originating from Ecuador's coastal region, these gluten-free hand pies have captured the hearts of Quito locals who have added their own twist to this traditional dish. Mercado Central in Quito, Ecuador is a historic and vibrant market dating back to 1950. It's located on Pichincha Avenue and is known for its gastronomy and the friendly vendors. The market offers a colorful array of tropical fruits like papayas, mangoes, and pineapples. Additionally, it features traditional healers called curanderas who perform rituals for good fortune.
Great local market that offers fresh produce and local cafeteria with their horrible prices and variety of traditional dishes on the menu. If you're staying near this market, I would recommend to buy lunches and your local produce from this city market.
Leo K — Google review
Good Mercado, clean and sections by foods they sell, the cons only the location… eat breakfast in Rosita tortilla 1st floor - lower floor… very good and very reasonable
G S — Google review
A true experience. They have everything from local fruits to entrails (yuck!). Kind people, welcoming. The fruit lady allowed me to sample fruits before I bought them, cute.
Mateo G — Google review
A traditional market of Quito. In general you can buy groceries there, especially fresh from farms. There is a food court too, for traditional food, in particular the croaker with potatoes. The Quito experience must include a visit to a market. Just be careful outside. It's safe in general but be careful.
Daniel D — Google review
Beautiful market, very centrally located. Very large selection of food and juices, as well as fruit and vegetables. We tried our way through several food stalls and loved everything. If you come after the big lunch rush, it's not so crowded. Very clean.
Alexander K — Google review
Amazing Ecuadorian food. The neighbourhood isn't the best, so don't flash your phones. I walked here from Plaza Grande, then walked all the way to La Floresta. I did not have any issues, but you do pass a few sketchy patches during the latter. Definitely worth a visit for the food. I tried hornado here, which was pretty good. I'll be making a round 2 soon to try something different.
Abhishek R — Google review
The market itself is interesting. Wide variety of food and vegetables and other articles. But beware of the area and streets behind. I witnessed a snatch and the poor tourist girl shouted and ran away. No one around moved !
Maik G — Google review
If you order something, you must first confirm the price with the vendor because many of them will try to overcharge you at the end if you are a foreigner. Even if the price is written on a list above the vendor, they will create excuses to charge you more. The fruit vendors will also try to rip you off, even if they have a price list. Its better to just buy fruit in a supermarket, or outside the central market in one of the street stands. They are more honest than the ones at the central market. The food from the restaurant vendors that i tried also wasn't great. Mostly bland.

A landmark in North of the Quito Ecuador. The size of the dishes are original and well done. The owner is 30 years in the business and she gives special attention to any table. The taste of the empanadas is amazing. Recommend.

Overrated empanadas, they were good and big, unfortunately most of it was crust, not filling, filling was very little. But they were tasty. The cook/owner was a very talkative pleasant lady who does the cooking and serves the order. The neighborhood was a bit lonely and out of the way, even though we had no problems and saw nothing to be concerned, we were always and actively looking to see if a unsafe moment or situation occurred. I don't know if I would recommend going there after sun set.

Alicia is nothing short of a genius. And a nice one too. The best in town, deserves a special trip! It should really get *** on Michelin, if only for the divine crunch.
Jacob B — Google review
The empanadas were delicious!! Highly recommend! The restaurant is cozy and inexpensive too.

Amazingly good! The owner is super super nice!
Qiushuang Z — Google review
Wow, this place is great! The owner is super sweet and will proudly show you how she makes these giant empanadas. Great filtered coffee, not the pour it into the water that's brought to you! Also, there's rooms upstairs for rent with a great view of the city!

Vegan restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Quito, look no further than Quinua. This charming eatery is a haven for vegetarians and vegans seeking an affordable yet satisfying meal. With a daily rotating menu that features only organic vegetables—free from dairy, eggs, and artificial ingredients—you can indulge in a wholesome lunch without breaking the bank. For just $4.
Found this based on looking at Google maps. There is a daily menu, and everyone gets that food. We had a corn and potato and plantain soup, a broccoli salad, beet and onion salad, rice, and empanada with fake meat. So good and a pleasant surprise. We had no idea what to expect, and it was only $4.50.

#SustainableNomads #AllVegan #Organic Only for $5.70, you can enjoy an amazing vegan lunch! Unlike other westernized vegan restaurants, the food here is very authentic and healthy(not too sweet nor salty). Highly recommend it!
Callie R — Google review
We had the best vegan food in all Ecuador. A huge and tasty menu (soup, snack, dish, desert, tea and drink) for just 5$. And the service is great - the lady was friendly and very welcoming.
Alexandra G — Google review
A must-eat for vegetarians and vegans looking for a cheap, but hearty & healthy lunch. Every day, there's another menu ; always varied and healthy. Only organic veggies, no dairy, eggs, greasy foods or artificial stuff. You get soup + main + juice + tea + dessert for $4.25: that's a very good price for such varied food! The service is ok: very friendly ladies, and the place isn't the brightest, cleanest nor best maintained restaurant of Quito. It's colorful and cozy for sure! We've been here a few times now and tend to order one regular and one half menu, "medio almuerzo". It's just a bit cheaper but at the least it's "finishable"! The regular portions are quite big.

Delicious vegetarian and vegan food cheap menu of the day with everything included for five dollars. Nice ambience and cute decor. Maybe a social enterprise or NGO vibe.

STOP SEARCHING FOR OTHER PLACES AND COME HERE NOW. Oh, and THIS is the correct location. If you are looking for delicious, healthy, plant-based food that is authentically Andean, this is the place. Many vegan places here cater to tourists and don’t veganize the local cuisine much. The first pic is the “almuerzo completo” and we also asked for the ceviche de chocho (a local legume that is super delicious). The ceviche isn’t listed on the menu oddly so ask for it. Peruse photos here of what you like and ask if it’s available — odds are they’ll make it. This has probably been my single best gastronomic experience in Quito, a city where the vegan community is still small and many places are on the underseasoned side. Did I mention it is a Big Bang for your buck?? We spent $7 on this food and walked out stuffed. I can’t wait to come back! Tip: they are open only til 6 but sometimes close earlier so try giving them a call first to see if they’re open so you don’t make your trip in vain.

Great service, delicious healthy food, good price, and they have produce for sale. This was my one-stop shop to get dinner and grab groceries all-in-one!
Alissa O — Google review
We came around 10:45am and they seemed to be close. After a few moments, someone let us inside and another person arrived to take our order. We got two vegan lunches, served in two courses, and everything felt light, flavorful, and filling. The portions were large and the food was simple, just as we like it. Highly recommend - I would come back here over and over again. I wish they made food like this in the USA

Campo Viejo Empanadas is a beloved establishment in Quito, boasting 14 charming locations throughout the city and its surroundings. Known for their delicious offerings, they provide not only dine-in experiences but also delivery services and frozen empanadas for those on the go. Visitors rave about their diverse menu, which includes mouthwatering options like cheese, chicken, Hawaiian empanadas, and even sweet varieties such as mejido. Many patrons enjoy pairing these delightful treats with coffee or refreshing shakes.
My wife and I come here once a week to have the Campero breakfasts. They are delicious and very hearty. We love the scrambled eggs with ham bits in it, the choices of empanada are great. We recommend the mejido(sweet empanada) and the napolitana (pretty much a pizza empanada) with a batido de naranjilla or tomate de arbol. They also have the option of having coffee or cappuccino and if you’re not a coffee drinker you can order an agua aromatica instead. Definitely recommend people to visit, you can also get their WhatsApp number from here and order ahead of time so you don’t have to wait a long time for your food (in case you’re doing takeaway)

I had a baked empanada with ground beef, and two fried ones, morocho and chicken. They were pretty good, I liked the morocho the best. Not a fan of this ají, creamy but no bite of spice. I would probably try another place next time, just did not have that homemade flavor to me.

(Translated by Google) The empanadas are expensive and taste literally the same as those at the supermaxi. The man who served us was not very friendly nor did he really try to serve customers well. What I do highlight is that the place is beautiful, comfortable and pet friendly. (Original) Las empanadas son caras y saben literalmente igual a las del supermaxi. Nestled in the vibrant area of San Marcos, Restaurante La Cuchara de San Marcos is a delightful family-owned gem that has quickly made a name for itself since opening two years ago. This eco-conscious eatery breaks the mold of traditional vegetarian dining by offering an inviting and stylish atmosphere paired with mouthwatering dishes. The menu creatively transforms classic Ecuadorian flavors into vegetarian delights using organic ingredients sourced from local farms and their own garden.
We had pasta, ceviche, vegie burger and salad - all of those positions were amazing. Portions perfect in size - amazingly tasty - service fast. Really nice chill out atmosphere. Will visit again for sure.
