Health Camp Burgers and Shakes is a nostalgic roadside eatery that has been delighting taste buds since 1948. This charming burger joint in Waco, Texas, offers a delightful menu featuring classic burgers and hot dogs, all complemented by an array of shakes, malts, and frozen custard. It's the perfect spot for families looking to indulge in some delicious fast food while enjoying the retro ambiance.
Health Camp – A Waco Institution Old-School Charm, Big-Time Flavor Health Camp has been holding down the fort on Waco’s Circle for decades, serving up nostalgia with a side of crispy onion rings and thick shakes. It’s the kind of place where the griddle’s been seasoned by time, and the menu stays simple because, well—why mess with perfection? The Burger: Smash-Style Satisfaction The cheeseburger here leans into that classic smash burger aesthetic—100% Angus ground chuck, seared just right to give it that crispy outer edge while staying juicy inside. No gimmicks, just beef done right. Mustard, onions, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and tomato—all stacked onto a perfectly toasted bun. The mustard gives it that Texas tang, cutting through the richness, while the crisp veggies bring balance. At nine bucks, you’re paying a little extra, but you’re also getting a burger with real beefy character. Onion Rings: Golden Crunch Perfection Skip the fries—this is an onion ring kind of place. They come out thick-cut and fried to an ideal crunch, the batter light but substantial. No limp, greasy afterthoughts here. These rings are the real deal, seasoned just enough to keep you reaching for the next one. Banana Pudding Shake: Southern Sweetness in a Cup Now, let’s talk about that shake. If you love banana pudding, this one’s a winner. It’s got that rich banana flavor, the kind that doesn’t taste artificial but instead reminds you of a homemade dessert. The real magic? The vanilla wafer crumbs dusted on top, with a few surprise wafers hidden inside, giving it that classic banana pudding texture. Cold, creamy, and just the right amount of thick—this one’s a must. Final Verdict Health Camp is more than just a burger joint—it’s a Waco staple, a slice of Texas history on a buttered bun. You’ll pay a little extra for the nostalgia, but you’ll also leave satisfied, knowing that places like this still exist. Whether you’re craving a classic burger, crispy onion rings, or a shake that tastes like dessert straight from grandma’s kitchen, Health Camp delivers.

Quaint cute little local diner. Always great and fresh hamburgers, the best milkshakes, fries or onion rings served with a smile. Always clean and usually busy but it was not when we went this evening. Was nice to get in and have a choice of tables. There’s nothing on the menu that isn’t delicious and it’s something soothing about enjoying your food pretty much prepared right in front of you when you’re at the counter. Definitely recommended and and a frequent stop for my family.

Burgers hold up to their myth. Best tasting burgers Ive had in Texas.Friendly staff member. I forgot to take a picture of the burger and grilled cheese...it was SO good. I highly recommend this joint. They did over a vegan burger- Beyond meat version-- did not try.
Rhoda M — Google review
I got the double bacon jalapeño cheeseburger with tator tots and a strawberry malt. The malt I didn’t get a picture of because that quickly bring that out to you first so you can enjoy while you wait! I firmly believe in dessert first because you never know when Christ is coming back! I love the atmosphere which is a very old school vibe. The quality of the food was great. Definitely was not the over processed normal fast food joints. The service was quick and very friendly. Quick to accommodate! I came back a second time the same day to get my boyfriend a take out for his lunch (night shift). I most definitely recommend!

Built in 1949 by successful food cart operators at the old James Connally Air Force base now owned by TSTC and leased by L3Harris. This burger joint is one of the best in town. Their buns are expertly toasted and soft divided by quality 100% ground angus chuck patties!
Madelyn S — Google review
Front desk lady was rude. Ordered tator tots with my burger but they forgot the tots. When I eventually got them, they were burnt. The staff gets mad when you complain. I guess because it’s just college kids here. Burger was okay. Seems like they use Kraft cheese.
DeJa C — Google review
Love this place. Best burger I have had in a long time!!! Looks like an old time Bürger joint (think Varsity in Atlanta but much smaller). Will be going back!

I was craving a great burger from a local joint and knew there was no place better than Health Camp Burgers and Shakes! They’ve been around for quite some time and you know the quality you’ll get here. You have to get a shake; there are many options. I went with a root beer shake and it was delicious.

Cupp's Drive Inn is a family-owned diner that has been a neighborhood staple since 1947. It offers classic burgers, hand-cut fries, and other nostalgic comfort foods. Even Elvis Presley frequented this spot during his time at Fort Hood, often indulging in their double cheeseburgers with bacon. The restaurant prides itself on serving fresh daily-made burgers, including classic options and chili cheeseburgers.
Cupp’s Drive-In – A Waco Icon That’s Stood the Test of Time If you find yourself in Waco, Texas, and you’re craving a true, old-school burger experience, there’s one place that locals and travelers alike will tell you to visit: Cupp’s Drive-In. This South Waco staple has been serving up fresh, no-frills, made-to-order burgers and hand-cut fries since 1947, and it remains one of the most beloved burger joints in the city. The Atmosphere: A Step Back in Time Walking into Cupp’s feels like stepping into a classic American diner from decades past. There’s no fancy digital menu or trendy decor—just a handwritten menu on the wall, stacks of classic plates, and a well-worn griddle that’s seen generations of burger lovers. It’s a small, cozy space with a laid-back, friendly vibe. If you’re lucky, you’ll meet Sherry, one of the co-owners, who makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. She and her brother (I believe they run the place together—don’t quote me on that!) keep the tradition alive with their warm hospitality and no-nonsense approach to good food. You can dine inside, but part of the charm is eating in your car, just like the old days. If you prefer to sit outside, they’ve got tables under a canopy, making it a perfect pit stop whether you’re a local or just passing through on I-35. The Food: Burgers Done Right Cupp’s keeps it simple, and that’s exactly why it’s legendary. Their burgers are everything you want in a classic Texas burger—grilled to perfection, juicy, and stacked with fresh toppings. The bun? Soft, slightly toasted, and just the right amount of buttery. The cheese melts beautifully over the patty, and the crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes give it that fresh crunch that balances out the richness. And let’s talk about the fries—because these aren’t your standard, out-of-the-bag, frozen fries. These are hand-cut, golden, crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside fries that you can tell were made with care. They come served up in a paper-lined basket, just the way they should be. Why Cupp’s Is a Waco Institution Located just minutes from Baylor University, Cupp’s has been a go-to for students, locals, and even travelers making their way between Dallas and Austin. It’s also a favorite among visitors who come to Waco for Magnolia Market, proving that even in a city known for HGTV-famous attractions, an old-school burger joint still reigns supreme. This is the kind of place where time slows down, where food is made the way it should be, and where every bite takes you back to a time when burgers and fries weren’t just meals—they were experiences. Final Verdict: 5 Stars, No Question If you’re in Waco and you haven’t been to Cupp’s, you’re missing out. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s a piece of Waco history. Whether you’re a burger purist, a fry fanatic, or just looking for a no-nonsense, perfectly cooked meal, Cupp’s Drive-In delivers. Friendly people, unbeatable flavors, and an atmosphere that feels like home. Final Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Must-Order: Cheeseburger and hand-cut fries Best Seat: Your car or a table under the canopy Vibe: Classic diner, no frills, all flavor Would I Go Back? In a heartbeat.

We found this place on google looking for a good burger in Waco and man we sure found it. They welcomed us in and made us feel like home. We had a stroller with us in this very small restaurant which is really not stroller accessible and they took time to make room for us to be seated comfortably. They Checked on us frequently and the food came out fast. Everything we had was delicious hot and fresh. The staff worked as a team to make sure everyone’s experience was enjoyable. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a small old school burger joint!
Reagan B — Google review
This is by far one of the best restaurants in the area. I have recently located to the area, and found this place. This is one of my hideaway places to go when I need a break. The staff is super friendly all the time and know you by name, food is absolutely the best made to order when you order it. NOTHING is pre made!! This place is always filled with friendly hungry people, who are the regulars.

If you know me, im all about the cheeseburgers. If youre lucky enough to be traveling through Waco it's a must stop! Love the vintage, yester-year vibe and yeah they make a great cheeseburger. They also serve breakfast ill have try next time.
JAMES — Google review
Cups Drive Inn has made a lot of Waco history since 1929. This legendary diner is a Clean Plate Award recipient from KWTX-TV, the CBS television network affiliate for the Waco area. Many changes over the years have taken place, but still the owner and staff are committed to a truly great experience for customers. I like their hamburgers because the bun is toasted well, and the burger patty is seasoned and grilled until it is medium well to well done, but still is juicy and not dry. The quality of toppings like pickles and lettuce is also great. All food is made fresh and on an as ordered basis. Their French fries are made from fresh potatoes cut right in the restaurant, that are rinsed in water to wash them and remove starch. Then they are deep fried and prepared like Boardwalk style fries, which are not crispy fries, but have a fairly firm outer shell, and have a soft mashed potato like inside. They are then seasoned with their special French fry seasoning. This style of fries is my favorite. The portion of fries is a reasonable size as well, served in a paper lined basket. Sorry that I have no pictures of my order. I did include, as of this posting, the most recent menu for you to see ahead of time. Definately will be glad to return to Cups when I go to Waco again. You can get a burger and fries at a similar price to a Wendy's burger and fries, but get a better value at Cups Drive inn.
Wade's L — Google review
My husband and I stopped by and decided to get burgers and fries, and I couldn’t resist getting cheese fries too. The food was absolutely amazing, and it’s no surprise the place was packed when we got there and still buzzing when we left. My burger was so juicy and flavorful, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The only thing I’d say is the space felt a little tight with so many people inside, but that’s just a sign of how popular it is. We really enjoyed our meal, and if we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely be back!
K K — Google review
The folks working there were friendly, helpful, and just plain nice people. Unfortunately, this did not compensate for the food or environment. There is a fine line between vintage and old, and cupps is in desperate need of an update inside (or at least a good scrub down). The patties are bought premade, and no seasoning is added. Cupp's, whizzbangs, and dubl-r are all very similar, and I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. Try Tom's Burgers, Burgertology, or even Health Camp.
Andrew E — Google review
Its a hole in the wall burger joint and it is perfect! Great food, delicious bacon cheeseburgers, friendly service, mom and pop type of atmosphere. Everything is made fresh and I will definitely be back!

American restaurant
Southern restaurant (US)
Cafe Homestead is a well-known restaurant located at the historic craft village, Homestead Heritage, just a few miles from central Waco. It's a popular dining spot for both locals and tourists looking to experience the old Texan charm and traditions of Texas farming communities. The restaurant prides itself on serving locally sourced American cuisine with an emphasis on farm-to-table dining. Following a fire that destroyed the original building, Cafe Homestead has been rebuilt into a beautiful establishment.
My wife and 2 year old daughter went here tonight and it was one of the best food experiences of our lives. We were blown away by the quality of food and the service. This is a must visit food place in Waco and Texas for that matter. We wish we could eat there everyday! We highly recommend getting the spinach dip as an appetizer as well! It will be the best you’ve ever had!
Creighton R — Google review
Gem of a place. The food was delicious. Their buttermilk biscuits are the best I've ever had...even more than those at Magnolia Table. The staff is so friendly. Their little store in the main entrance area is FUN, but if you schedule your time there right, you can visit and enjoy all the Homestead village shops and atmosphere. Worth the time. I recommend a reservation.
Sonja A — Google review
Well that was quite the incredible accidental discovery. On our autumn road trip getaway to San Antonio, we were looking for lunch outside Waco. My wife ran a Google search for "restaurants near me" and in the top of the list was Homestead Cafe. We were on I35 so it wasn't exactly "near" but the drive through the country was worth a few miles. The cafe is the heart of a beautiful craft community. The staff was wonderful. The atmosphere is warm and rustic. My wife enjoyed the wagu burger and my the wagu brisket tacos we among the best I have ever savored. Best of all, a classic car rally had made a stop here. Wow!
Brock W — Google review
Cafe Homestead has amazing guacamole and salsa. Everything is mostly made in house or locally sourced. The atmosphere is family friendly and the community around is perfect to explore. I come down from DFW at least once a year at least just to eat here. The service is fantastic, and today Jessica was our server who kept that stellar service going. I recommend making a reservation and giving yourself time to park and walk around the grounds as it’s always busy.
Matthew J — Google review
We had such a great experience at Cafe Homestead! The food was absolutely amazing — everything was fresh and full of flavor. The service was perfect from start to finish, and the staff made us feel so welcome. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has such a cozy, inviting atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!
Rene T — Google review
I finally made my way to Cafe Homestead and it was a true delight. My waiter, Brandon, was very kind and knowledgeable of the menu items to select for me a good choice. I chose the Sriacha burger, fries and the corn fritters with a Lemonade Peach tea. The food was absolutely delicious. The inside of the restaurant is warm and welcoming and not at all noisy. So my dining experience was quite enjoyable, up until a young lady came over and begin spraying some sort of cleaning agent to prepare the tables for the next guest. I've come to notice this trend being practiced at several mainstream restaurants and for me personally, it is annoying to be subjected to smelling chemicals and spray being aerialized around guests who are eating. This is why I lowered my rating from 5 to a 4 star because of this annoying trend. Would I recommend this restaurant, yes. Would I return for the good food, yes. But I hope that management after reading this review will be mindful to their cleaning practices around its paying guest because I do not care to see chemicals being sprayed around while I'm trying to enjoy my meal.
Angel A — Google review
We last visited Cafe Homestead in the Fall of 2022 before the original restaurant burned down. When planning another trip to Waco for my daughter's birthday, we read the story about the unfortunate situation, but we were very glad to hear about the rebuilding of the facility. 18 weeks from the time it burned down to coming back online is nothing short of amazing. This trip was not unlike the last, in that the food, service and overall experience were simply fantastic. I had the Chicken Fried Steak, which continues to be the best I've ever had. All four of us were stuffed and quite satisfied after our meal. Next time we plan on spending more time exploring the area shops and activities. Highly Recommend!
Clint B — Google review
Hearty great food prepared from scratch like Grandma used to make! The bestest salads! The ranch dressing is just awesome. Desserts made from scratch are soooo good! Even the tea is just fantastic! Get the peach tea or Cream Earl Gray in cooler weather. Friendliest, most polite staff. Beautiful building with lots of handcrafted touches. So much fun shopping around the restaurant whilst you wait! One of our favorite places!

Daves Burger Barn is a lively counter-serve spot known for its custom-made chuck burgers, chili dogs, and house-made potato chips. Established in 2009, it has quickly become a popular destination for burger and shake enthusiasts in Waco. The restaurant prides itself on serving the freshest food with top-notch service in a clean environment. In addition to an impressive selection of burgers, Daves offers customers the opportunity to take on a mega-burger challenge against the clock.
Located near 35 this place is a must go to for both locals and people visiting. It’s simple and welcoming. Anyone is sure to feel comfortable here. Decorated with all the info about the zipper ripper which is their legendary challenge. Look at the photo for information on it. The food here is made fresh, it’s hot, and it’s delicious. I ordered the jalapeno cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, cheese was perfectly melted, and the meat was well seasoned. My fries were cooked well and not soggy or overcooked like sweet potato fries sometimes get. The sodas were good too! I loved the root beer. It almost had a little vanilla taste to it. The onion rings were really crispy and hot too. The staff were really wonderful and kind.
Evan B — Google review
Tried Dave's Burger Barn for the first time today and I was not disappointed! Burger was fantastic! Fries were awesome! Love the seasoning! Service was excellent! No doubt I'll be coming back here again. I just wish I lived closer!

Wow! We found Dave’s Burger Barn after a trip to the Homestead Heritage complex. We were on our way back to the highway and got hungry and so lucky to find Dave’s burger barn. Wonderful double cheeseburger, onion rings, and sweet potato fries. The staff was courteous and everything was cooked fresh to order. A great place to stop for a quick lunch or otherwise

Burgers were fresh and hot to order!! Sweet friers were great!! Sky was super friendly and gave us the secret to the bluebell ice-cream so we skipped the zipper ripper for 2 scoops!! Will definitely see them again when in Waco

Burgers and fries were great! Great stop on a road trip or just cuz.

Service terrible. Two of us got our food 10 minutes before the other in our party. Our food was given to another table. Then the wrong order given to us. Instead of giving to the right table immediately, they took it to the back for a few minutes then brought it to that table. There were two other tables that we saw saying “this is not my order.” They finally got ours right, but just made the cook bring it to our table and as soon as she set it down, she took off back to the kitchen. No “sorry about that mess up three different times”.

If you're in Waco, Texas, make sure to swing by Whizzbang's Hamburgers for a delightful dining experience that takes you back to the classic burger joint vibe. This charming spot offers counter service and a convenient drive-thru, making it perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. The menu features mouthwatering burgers that are made fresh to order, with options like their double burger served alongside crispy fries and perfectly breaded onion rings that are simply irresistible.
Went here with my son; we’re trying to find the best burgers in Waco. From the moment we came in, everyone was super friendly and the man who took our order was super helpful. If I had to find one thing wrong (Which is very hard) it would be that the burgers are a tiny bit too big. 5 stars!

Noticed other reviews saying best old fashion burger in town. So I went and was not disappointed. Great burger wonderful onion rings ( hand battered). Was greatest when I walked in the door and food was fresh and hot. Large sweat tea was really good also. Not too sweat but enough

Just happened upon this place and thought I’d give it a try. I’m glad I did! One of the best cheeseburgers I e ever had! Onion rings were awesome too!

First time here and this place doesn't disappoint. Wizz sauce has a nice little kick and the burgers are flavored really well to make you want more. Crispy fries and onion rings go great with the sauce as well. 😋
Alexander L — Google review
Whiz Bang's Burger Shack truly lives up to its name, delivering a 'whiz bang' of flavors with every bite! From the moment we walked in, the retro vibe and friendly staff set a welcoming tone for what was an exceptional dining experience. We started with a side of onion rings, which were a crunchy, golden delight, perfectly seasoned and accompanied by a delicious dipping sauce that added just the right amount of kick. The burgers, the stars of the show, were nothing short of phenomenal—juicy, cooked to perfection, and layered with fresh, tasty toppings that complemented each other beautifully. The tater tots, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, were a nostalgic treat that brought back memories of childhood comfort food but with a gourmet twist. Each item we ordered felt like it was made with care and high-quality ingredients, evident from the first taste to the last. Whiz Bang's Burger Shack doesn't just serve food; they craft an experience that leaves you satisfied and already planning your next visit. If you’re in the mood for some top-notch American classics with a side of fun, this is the place to go!

Usually love this place. But the kid cooking today took my order, ordered a well done burger. Can’t even eat it.

I order a cheeseburger with lettuce tomato and pickles only and they gave me a uncooked cheese burger with lettuce tomato pickles and onion the meat was pink on my first bit but I thought it was just me so I kept eating it and my bf said stop eating your burger the meat is pink

The hamburger was fantastic! I would have loved to make it a combo for like $2-3 bucks extra but that isn’t an option. The burger is worth the price tag, but if your looking for a way to enjoy a beverage or side to go with there are more affordable options.

Milo is a charming and rustic-chic eatery located in Texas, offering seasonal Southern comfort food and a variety of cocktails, beer, and wine. The establishment is associated with the Southern Roots Brewery, which was founded in Waco in 2018. The brewery's story began with home brewing as a hobby and eventually led to the creation of a debut line-up of craft beers.
Stopped in for a quick bite with some friends! Loved the open concept atmosphere for seating. If you are someone who enjoys the patio regardless of the weather- there is a place for you here. The space is well covered and provides the perfect protection during the summer heat. Started with the cast iron cornbread- delicious! If you are someone who enjoys a little kick with their meal, the hot chicken tacos will be perfect for you! If you are looking for something sweet but relatively light- the French toast was very nice! Service was great. Bathrooms were clean. It was the perfect place to meet some friends!

This was my second visit to Milo and I love the farm to table mission and ambiance! Even though they advertise the brussels as crispy, ours were severely overcooked which made them unenjoyable. They also came out suspiciously fast but weren’t overly hot which made them feel like maybe they were old? The lemon chicken bowl was really good; the chicken was super juicy and all of the flavors worked well together. My friend ordered the egg white frittata and the portion was a bit small, so if you’re hungry you’d definitely need more than just that for your main. It’s weird it doesn’t come with a side of toast, potatoes, or something else.

I like what they are doing here in Waco. Clean and bright interior, fun atmosphere with 2010s alt rock playing in the background. Creative farm to table menu. Nashville hot chicken tacos were a hit in my book, amazing flavor, balanced. Servers seemed over booked. Granted it was busy. maybe they need more help? All in all I will be back to try out their other menu items!

Pretty good spot! They had half off appetizers and margaritas which allowed us to try s few things! We got the pimento cheese (very good and I enjoyed the homemade crackers), the brussel sprouts were also quite good. my husband got the burger and I ordered the steak lettuce wraps. The burger and fries were very fresh and flavorful. maybe it was supposed to be this way, but the steak for my entree was cooked so much it was crunchy.... The flavor was good, but I found that odd. Fresh ingredients and good service. A relaxed, bright and airy atmosphere! Some entrees seemed smaller, but the appetizers helped fill us up.

Great atmosphere for a family get together. Plenty of food choices. Kids grilled cheese is huge. My hamburger was perfect! Salmon was blackened beautifully for my wife. Great food and service!

Great space with very nice modern finishes and the patio was very comfortable to sit at. Parking was very limited but parked down the street and it was not far. Carnitas hash and the Nashville hot tacos were all really good choices. Highly recommend the pumpkin spice espresso martinis.

I ordered to go and was disappointed. I order The Salad which was described as little gem lettuce, sesame sunflower seed crunch and rustic croutons and Campari tomatoes. None of these are actually on what I received. I also had the crab hush puppies which were ok not much crab mostly cornbread and the corn ribs which were pretty good. Do better Milo!

A great breakfast stop in Waco. Food was fresh and tasty. The portions are a bit smaller but they are priced well for their size. The farmer’s daughter was a smash for our group. Drinks looked delicious but we didn’t try them because it was still morning and we aren’t THAT dependent. But still worth considering…

Kim's Diner is a retro-themed restaurant in Waco that takes you back to the 1950s with its charming decor and nostalgic ambiance. Despite being an old-school establishment without a website, it offers classic American dishes like sandwiches, burgers, shakes, fried pickles, and hand-cut fries. The menu features juicy and flavorful burgers along with crispy and loaded fried pickles served with ranch dressing. Visitors highly recommend trying the lean burgers paired with milkshakes for a delightful dining experience.
This place is amazing. The food is fresh. Hamburgers are not frozen. Salads are freshly made. The Salisbury steak is always good. Very fun family friendly atmosphere. Its like being in a diner from the 50’s. Really cool place. I come here all the time. I am very partial to one waitress that works there. She is the best. Always has a smile on her face and will remember your name. If you dine in during the day ask for Liz. She will make you feel like you’re at home.

Second time here while visiting our children. The service has been good both times. Very friendly. Good prices and quantity. Love the retro atmosphere. And they have a BLT with 10 pieces of bacon on it :). Plus fresh cut fries

Chicken Fried Throwback with a Side of Silence Kim’s Diner, Waco, TX When you walk into Kim’s Diner, the checkerboard floors and chrome-edged tables don’t just say retro—they holler it across the room like a jukebox waking from a nap. Vintage Coca-Cola lights dangle above the booths, red vinyl chairs line up like soldiers, and the walls are pure Americana—nostalgic murals, classic car prints, and diner kitsch. It’s got the bones of a roadside legend, even if the soul’s on break. I went with a small Chicken Fried Steak Dinner, and for the price, it was a solid move. Let’s break it down: • The Steak: Nicely battered, golden-brown crust, well-seasoned throughout. What made it work was that the cook actually respected the protein—no grease pool, no soggy corners. I specifically asked for the white gravy on the side—I like to see the steak and decide the gravy journey, not get smothered into submission. That request was honored, and the pour-as-you-go approach made each bite better. Props to the cook. Mashed Potatoes & Brown Gravy: Classic. Creamy, hot, and the brown gravy wasn’t salty or clumpy—just smooth and a little savory. No frills, but well-executed. Fried Okra: Hot, generously portioned, and while it leaned on the softer side rather than crispy, the flavor came through. It still delivered that Southern familiarity you expect. Now here’s where the engine coughed: the service. The waitress never introduced herself, took my order, and then vanished—posted up at the bar chatting with a coworker for the rest of the meal. I wasn’t offered refills, no check-in, and no dessert prompt. She did ring me up, but not even a “thanks” or “come back again.” I was ready for that Chocolate Lava Cake, but I wasn’t about to interrupt a social hour to get it. And that’s a shame—because the food earned a second round. Despite the ghost-town energy and the invisible server act, I would still return. Kim’s delivers where it counts most: hearty comfort food, good prices, and a chef who’s clearly still showing up, even when the front-of-house doesn’t. With some polished hospitality, this could easily be a five-star joint. But for now, it’s a four-star stop—with a side of missed potential.

As visitors from out of town, this was the first restaurant where we truly felt welcomed. The staff greeted us warmly, offered thoughtful food accommodations, and even shared helpful local tips on where to go and explore. Their genuine kindness made our experience unforgettable. We will recommend this place to our Houston friends 🧡

Old timey retro diner feels. Super affordable and such great customer service, exactly what southern hospitality feels like. The club sandwich was delicious and the fries very crispy. Love the whole aesthetic of this place, would definitely come again.

Ok. This is not a 5 star restaurant nor do they serve gourmet cuisine. But what it is - it is amazing. Great burgers, very reasonably priced, the warmest friendliest staff I've ever seen. For "southern comfort" food- nice people, retro environment it is the best. There's something amazing about a place that when you walk in they know your name they know what you like they know when you're through that you're going to take half of your plate with you at home. This place just oozes friendliness it says we care about our people

Tom's Burgers is a great place for burgers. The prices are good, and the food is great. The staff are friendly and know their burgers well. It can be busy, so suggest ordering in advance.
This is your classic American "hole in the wall" dive with great food and super friendly staff. This place opened the year I was born (1991) and has been a local Waco gem ever since. The menu offers classic American faire like burgers, fries, and shakes, but also has chicken-fried steaks, patty melts, and grilled cheese. If you dine-in, it's all served in a classic diner basket. The food is just what you would expect: casual, down-to-earth, and made to order. Everything tasted great. The place itself is dated, but I feel like that's part of the charm. You get nostalgic just walking in. You're transported back into a time when diners and dives reigned supreme over the corporate, cookie-cutter restaurants that all look the same. Tom's is wholly individual and 100% local, giving it a homey feeling. Updating it just for the sake of it, as some recent reviewers have suggested, would destroy that. The staff are quick, efficient, and very friendly. They treated everyone kindly and took extra time with individuals who seemed to be regulars, showing that they have probably been with the restaurant for a while and take the time to get to know their regulars-which speaks volumes. If you're new to Waco-or have lived here for years and just never tried this place-I highly recommend giving it a go. I went during a weekday lunch. They stayed pretty steady, but I didn't have to wait for a table to open up. Parking lot is a bit tight. I would suggest parking next door in the Austin Driving School/CPL parking lot.

Very busy place for a nondescript place. It has a following. You walk up and order at the counter. The service was friendly and fast. I was really impressed with the onion rings. Most have too much breading and are over cooked. These were perfect! The burger was fine, but a little dry. Might have been the bun. They have a big selection, so I will try something new next time.
Joan C — Google review
I was visiting Waco, TX, came across this gem of a burger joint and decided to jump right in. It was close to opening and there were already quite a few hungry patrons. They have a decent sized menu, offering much of the traditional burger-joint fare. I kept it classic and ordered a double cheeseburger and tater tots. The burger was cooked perfectly down to the gooey cheese and toasted bun! The vegetables were fresh and tasty. The tater tots were extremely crispy from the first to the last! If everything else on Tom’s menu is as good as the combo I had, then this place is fire! Additionally, everyone who works here is friendly and the place is very clean. I would recommend and will make this a must-stop when I am back in Waco.

Tom's reminds me of burger joints from my childhood. Before food was "fast". By far the best mushroom & Swiss burger with onion rings! So good, I couldn't get a picture... 😂

We live out of town but had been to Providence Hospital nearby. Went in for lunch and had a great experience. The quality of the burgers is TOP NOTCH! The service is outstanding. The atmosphere was great. We had the Swiss Mushroom burgers and Cajun fries. To say they were great is an understatement. Do yourself a favor and go to Tom's Burgers. You will not be disappointed. Parking lot is small and during lunch hour rush you will not get front door parking.

The all time best burger I have ever eaten. The bag was greasy yal!!!! Meant to take pics but it looked so good I ate it immediately. But i did get a pic of the sign before I entered 😆

Updated Review: This is still one of the best old school local burgers I've had. The whole experience took me back to my childhood hood. The cashier is always upbeat and welcoming. The food comes out fairly quick and hot. The only downside was swiping at the flies trying to land on my food. Great burger and fries! The service is amazing as well! It's worth the stop if you are traveling through Waco. It does get busy, but that's because it's so good!

Magnolia Table is a popular dining spot in Waco, Texas, known for its breakfast and lunch offerings made with locally sourced ingredients from nearby gardens and farms. The restaurant, owned by celebrity couple Chip and Joanna Gaines, is housed in a historical landmark that was once the Elite Cafe on the Circle. With its charming setting and delicious food, Magnolia Table attracts both locals and visitors from across the country. The menu features southern-inspired dishes, including a renowned chicken salad available for takeout.
We decided to make the drive from Dallas while visiting, and it was definitely worth it! 👏🏼 The biscuits + honey butter are exceptional! A must get for your appetizer. We shared the signature smash burger and it was delicious. The Brussels sprouts!!…SO GOOD. Don’t be fooled by the dark crispy color, these are incredible. Service was amazing as well! Shout out to Loren for making our experience so welcoming. 🫶🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First time visit here while I was in Austin. The atmosphere was quaint and cute. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The server was a wonderful young lady and very friendly! The best thing we ate was the appetizer of maple bacon & deviled eggs... absolutely hands down the BEST 👌 10 OUT OF 10! The other food we got was good but the eggs and bacon app was the show!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Magnolia Table is truly a special experience from start to finish! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with that signature Magnolia charm that makes you feel right at home. The staff was attentive, kind, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. The food was absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The biscuits and strawberry butter are a must-try, and every dish we ordered felt like it was made with care and attention to detail. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and delicious. What really stood out was how everything—from the décor to the menu—felt thoughtful and intentional. It’s not just a place to eat, it’s an experience that leaves you smiling long after you leave. I highly recommend Magnolia Table to anyone visiting Waco. Whether it’s breakfast with family or brunch with friends, this is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again.

Definitely make a reservation! My son ordered Jo's crunchy French toast with over easy eggs and bacon, my sister and I ordered the Farm house breakfast and we had coffee. Everything was SO good. The French toast was the favorite. The bacon is very good too. We were seated at 10:20 am, and our reservation was at 10:30 am today. Service was very good and the food was delicious! We loved the atmosphere! The plant boxes everywhere were very nice. The restrooms were very clean and they had an attendant in there to keep it clean. We appreciated that there wasn't music playing in the background. You could just hear the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant and the conversations of people enjoying a meal together. We will make sure Magnolia Table is part of our annual trip to Silobration!

Came here for the first time for a quick brunch, and also because I was curious about this place I watched on Fixer Upper years ago. Perhaps because it was a Tuesday, it was very easy to make a 12.30pm reservation last minute. Still, the place was full when I got there, and I felt lucky to find a spot right away in the parking lot. Upon entering, I found the place quite large and bright, although the hostess could be a bit more welcoming to guests. Once seated, service and food came quickly, and my server was excellent. I ordered the avocado toast with a poached egg, and a pumpkin spiced latte with soy milk. Perhaps paying $16.50 for one slice of toast with no sides was a bit expensive, I was pleasantly surprised that it was super tasty, and the sourdough bread was nice and soft, just the way I liked it. The pumpkin spiced latte was a bit too sweet for me, but the flavor was good. All in all, it was a very nice experience and I would certainly recommend this place for brunch.

Beautiful restaurant! The staff was amazing! Food was good, but not exactly that "next level" I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, it was good, and I would go back. I guess with all the hype I was expecting more. But overall its an awesome dining experience. I suggest reservations. It was packed when we arrived and the seated us immediately.

Here in Waco with my daughter for the weekend and we planned dinner here, I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and our waitress was amazing, exception service. We had the chicken biscuit sliders for our appetizer and it did not disappoint, I ordered the steak frites but subbed the blue cheese sauce for the chimichurri sauce and also subbed the fries for the mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were a ok, my steak was unevenly cooked (I like medium rare) and a bit chewy/tough, but I'm a hard critic when it comes to steak, the chimichurri sauce was amazing!! My daughter had the bucatini pasta and that was perfect! Overall food and service was good I would definitely come back but I would just choose a different main entree! very good, however

Cannot say enough positive words about Magnolia Table. Now folks, Magnolia Table, and the Silos including Magnolia Market have come to be quite the destinations in Waco, and we knew that going in. So, we made reservatioons at Magnolia Table for 2:00pm on a weekday. When we arrived about 15 minutes early we were seated within 5 minutes. Had a VERY pleasant server. We ordered the Breakfast Sandwich (Her) and I had the French Toast Crunch. Photos of both attached. Both meals were EXCELLENT. Our only complaints (an observation more than complaint) was that the portions were HUGE. My wife didn't fininsh her side of potatoes, and I really struggled with my French Toast. The couple next to us (had a nice chat with them during the meal) left 1/2 their food on the plates. So, 5 stars for Magnolia Table. The place was spotless, waitress was very pleasant, food was excellent, and restrooms were tidy. Like I said, make reservations well in advance if possible, and yeah ... you'll likely be dining in a full restaurant.

The restaurant offers a hearty menu featuring items like chicken-fried steak, burgers, and their famous Big O beer. With multiple high-definition screens throughout the venue, George’s ensures that patrons never miss any sports action while enjoying their meal or drinks.
Killer burgers and sandwiches at a good price. They use sweet buns and all the toppings are fresh. Quality beef and chicken. Large portion - didn’t feel like they skimped on anything but it wasn’t impossible to eat either. Sweet potato fries were burnt and unseasoned, so avoid those, but everything else was great. Service was good, food was great, price was right. Worth stopping by if you’re in town.

I r heard great things about this place and was encouraged to stop here should I ever come back to Waco. I have to say it was worth it. The appetizers were amazing. What a surprise! I have never been here before and what an amazing first experience! Chicken Fried Steak was superb! Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! Cream gravy poured over that and my garlic mashed potatoes next to some green beans! Heaven! I added a side of broccoli and rice casserole which was the best I’ve ever had and apparently a customer favorite. Rolls and cornbread, yum! Peach Cobbler and two scoops of ice cream closed this one out! Best meal I’ve had in Waco, by far. Stephanie was my server. She was amazing and never let me be in need. Give that gal a raise! So glad I found this place! 😋

A Waco classic meet-up for reliable food, simple drinks, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I had the spinach salad with chicken and it was excellent! Well seasoned chicken over fresh spinach with bacon, mushrooms, and purple onion. I had ranch and balsamic served on the side. Perfect blend of flavors and a hearty serving size. Hubby had the crazy wings-chicken breast with cheese and a slice of pickled jalapeño inside, all neatly wrapped in bacon! Served fresh with ranch for dipping. (The chicken could have used a little seasoning before being wrapped up, just to bring more flavors, but it was still tasty.) Food was served quickly. Server was friendly. We went on a Tuesday night and there was no wait! They have a large menu to satisfy anything you might be craving. Definitely stop by next time you are in town. Just a couple blocks off I-35.

George’s is our tried-and-true spot whenever we head to a Baylor game! We’ve been coming here since 2000, and it’s become a family tradition that my wife and daughters absolutely love. The food never disappoints, the atmosphere is always welcoming, and those schooners of ice-cold beer are clutch every single time. Consistently great and always a highlight of our trips to Waco!

Recommended by a local friend, we were not disappointed at this restaurant! Great, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Wide variety of items on the menu and VERY AFFORDABLE - we are already planning what we'll have on our return visit! 😀 my wife settled on the Cry Baby Burger w onion rings, and I on the lunch special Chicken Fried Steak. I have to say, the onion rings were probably some of the best we've had. She loved the burger and the homemade jalapeño bun. I thought the green beans were also tops on my list, and the CFS breading was just as tasty as the breading on those onion rings. However, the meat was about 80% the size of the breading. It was still so tasty it was good by itself! The gravy was nothing special, though. I wish it was homemade, but it tastes like a generic powder mix. Creamy, but not much flavor. All in all, this is a wonderful place, with the managers walking around greeting customers and attentive servers. We'll definitely be back ! - UPDATE: We're back again, and everything was still sooo delicious! Nephew's Chicken was my attempt at a "lighter" dish (which it was!). The mixed veggies were cooked to perfection! My daughter's Steak Finger's from the kids menu were an awesome deal! That breading is out of this world! And the fried mushrooms probably the best we've had. Once again, thank you for another great meal and such great value! 🍻❤️👍

The food here is great, but I wanted some of their amazing onion rings to munch on for my drive to Ft Worth. I walked in to order, and it took sooooooooo long to get them. I literally waited 25 minutes. They also have some t-shirts for sale in the front waiting area, I think I memorized them all waiting. Lol Maybe ordering ahead is a better option, because they were not even busy inside and like 4 people were standing up front chatting. But, the rings were super delicious as always. A full order can feed a lot of folks. The stars are for the food only, not the service but I know the front has nothing to do with the cook time.

Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant is a vibrant and long-standing establishment known for its cocktails and authentic Mexican cuisine. Founded in 1973 by Ninfa Rodriguez Laurenzo, it continues to uphold her legacy of serving up delicious tacos, enchiladas, and being one of the first to popularize fajitas. The restaurant also offers Tex-Mex favorites like quesadillas and burritos, accompanied by their signature avocado and tomatillo green sauce.
Wow. Amazing. This is the kind of place that you can tell everything is made in house. The green salsa in particular was phenomenal, but both were good! The chips and queso were outstanding (they came with special chips). My husband got a burrito and it was great and clearly made with one of their homemade tortillas. I ordered the pisca and wow it was so incredible. The only thing is that the shrimp was slightly overdone. The steak was perfect. The charo beans were even good and I don't even usually care for those. Would definitely come again! The menu had plenty of great looking options.

We came at 7:45 and half the restaurant was empty. We asked for a table for 6 - 2 of the party was here while the remaining were in another car on their way. The hostesses rudely stated, “oh we can’t seat you until your entire party arrives.” There was no wait. We even stated that we would be ordering appetizers and drinks upon seating for 6.. 3 of the hostesses were quick to chime in. We were not arguing or being disrespectful. We were trying to understand and express our intent. The sign states “we will not seat incomplete parties on a wait.” Again, there was no wait. If your policy is going to change based on who is working the host stand, then I would suggest having a clearer policy or making sure your entire staff understands the policy. We have been decades long customers of Ninfa’s and have never been treated so disrespectfully and disregarded. As I’m sitting here writing this.. there is a group of 6 wait staff just hanging out behind the host stand. Great way to lose customers and money.

Great atmosphere, awesome service, tasty food! I had the shrimp stuffed jalapeno popper thingies and the best advice I can give is order four instead of two! Then I had the La bonita, a great sampling of a chicken enchilada, chile relleno and a beef taco. My only disappointment is I am too full to try the apple empanadas!

Tory at Ninfa’s in Waco, Tx was outstanding. She brought our drinks before we ever had to ask, stayed on top of everything, and delivered the best service we’ve had at any restaurant so far. The food was delicious, but the service was on another level entirely. This is real Mexican food, not the fake stuff, and this place is now our go-to spot. Jakes Texas Tea House is a retro eatery in Waco, TX with a gas station theme and classic Southern cuisine. The veteran-owned restaurant offers hearty brunch options at great prices and provides stellar service in a cozy setting. The 50s-inspired diner-like atmosphere features quirky decor, including 1950s style cars and bright blue paintings on the walls.
The cafe is located in downtown of Waco and has its own parking lot for visitors. The unusual design of the cafe attracts visitors of different ages, it is interesting to visit both adults and children. For children, there is a small police car, which they can jump into for only 25 cents. The waiters were very friendly and served quickly, although there were a lot of people in the cafe. The food was very fresh and tasty, we were satisfied. If you are in Waco, then be sure to visit this cafe. I think you will be satisfied.

Fun retro diner with 50s car theme and candy colored leather booths. Their menu varies a bit between the week and Sunday but they're consistent with making Caesar salad table side and providing family style vegetable side dishes for the table. I especially enjoyed the chicken breast and creamed corn. The have booth, table, and bar seating in a large inside dining room as well as a few umbrella tables outside. There is street parking on surrounding blocks.

We headed here after visiting the Dr Pepper museum. We (3 seniors, 3 adults and our grandson) were greeted by the owner who took us straight to a table for 7. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The food was great and everyone got something they enjoyed. On our experience we would highly recommend. See the additional part regarding kid friendliness below.

Genuinely worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I am a 19 year old college student and they definitely took advantage of it. We went on a Sunday, and they have a different menu on Sunday. My sister and I asked to split an $18 chicken tender meal and the waitress said sure. Our bill ended up being $33 and we asked why. They had charged us for a random “veggie plate” and said anyone who eats has to be charged. We said we understood, but we split a meal. I only had a singular chicken tender and they charged us an addition $15. When we asked what the veggie plate was they couldn’t explain it to us. They just said they had to charge us for extra since we both ate food and it was policy. Both the manager and waitress were very rude to us and acted like we were dumb just for asking why they charged us. The manger continued to repeat “it’s on the menu sweetie just look at the menu.” So we looked at the menu after we left, and it wasn’t on the menu! I really feel like we were taken advantage of as young girls because we weren’t great at standing up for ourselves. The waitress also accidentally brought out an extra drink and I told her I would take it if she was just going to dump it, and they ended up charging us for that as well. They took it off very belligerently after this whole ordeal and acted like they did us a favor. Overall food was not amazing for the price, waitress and manager were pretty rude, and they only care about the money.

Place was awesome and the food was delicious. The only thing that kinda worried me is the parking situation. But everything about this place is perfect!

I recently visited Jake’s Texas Teahouse and tried a few of their offerings. The atmosphere is really charming, and the service was excellent—friendly and attentive throughout our meal. As for the food, I had the chicken fried steak with fries and fried okra. While the sides were tasty, the chicken fried steak wasn’t quite my favorite. I felt the gravy could use a little more flavor to complement the dish. On the bright side, I also had the Cadillac Melt with a Caesar salad, and it was pretty good! However, a touch of salt and pepper would have made it even better. The decor is cozy and nostalgic, filled with classic touches that create a welcoming, throwback vibe. It’s a great spot for families with kids and anyone who enjoys taking in some old-school charm while they dine. Overall, the dining experience was enjoyable thanks to the warm service and great atmosphere. I’m sure with a few small tweaks to the seasoning, this place will be even better!

I've visited a few local restaurants in Waco, and all of them were really good, I went here for lunch to see if I could keep up that streak, and this restaurant surely didn't break it. Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Me and my parents got rather basic meals, but even then, they were all really good. I recommend trying their more interesting foods though, I'm sure those are even better. I got the BLT, my mom got the regular burger, and my dad got a chicken sandwich, all came with a side of fries, for my meal I added some watermelon along with my side of fries as well. Everything tasted really fresh and was packed with flavor. The buns were toasted perfectly along with the meat, and the mayo and condiments were really good as well. My watermelon was pretty good too, I was expecting an average watermelon, but the freshness and the nice balance of sweetness and flavor made it a little extra special. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much were the fries. They were a little mushy but had a home style taste. I appreciated that it wasn't loaded with salt too, but I would've liked more seasoning on it. It's not enough to bring it down a star because I enjoyed it overall, including the meals. Definitely recommend the food. Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The waiters were nice and consistently checked up on us to see how we liked the food or if we needed anything else. It wasn't anything special, but it was great overall. The food came out pretty quickly, and we spent about 30 minutes in the restaurant, great service overall and there weren't any major problems Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think an atmosphere deserves five stars when it's not just good, but great, and special in a way. This place had so much old fashioned detail and there was a lot to look at while you sat down. Something else I thought was neat was that there were notes inside the crevices in the brick wall of the restaurant. They each had a message inside to read and was something I distracted myself with while I waited for my food. Another cool detail was that the food was served in hubcaps, you can't tell with my pictures, since it was covered in food and was shown on the bottom of the plate. Overall, really awesome atmosphere and it wasn't too cramped either. I was really satisfied with this place overall. The atmosphere and the food is what made this place stand out among the rest. I wanted to try their pies but ended up being too full. That's something else this place is known for apparently. Props to the owner for a great restaurant!

I never make reviews on places but this is terrible. The renewed menu items are terrible, all of the food came out room temp not even warm. The server was awesome! But the food was a nightmare to say the least. Got the spicy chicken and mac and cheese and 90% of the chicken was breading. What chicken was there was probably 1/6 of an actual chicken breast that was clearly hammered flat to look bigger. Paid 70$ for me and my girlfriend to eat here and left upset on how bad the food here was. We also got the French onion soups and it looked absolutely sad and tasted as bad as it looked. 10/10 do NOT recommend the food here

The nachos were super large. We couldn't finish them. Then, the chicken wings I ordered tasted a bit dry. The jalapeno poppers I got separately were the best, and the Blue Moon beer was really good.

Walked in great atmosphere. However took several minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge us. She then had to find menus. The table was sticky. Was informed of our waiter and he would be by to get orders. Waiter finally came by to acknowledge us about 10 minutes later. Took drink order (beer on tap and a double shot, no mixed drinks) and a pop. Came back about 10 minutes later with pop and water said bar tender is still "working on our drinks" beer came out warm. Took order for food and that was the last time we saw our waiter till we asked for the check. Food was brought out by another waitress. Ordered the Peanut butter bacon burger and tots, friend got 10 wings and fries. All the food was room temp at best. The fries looked limp and the wings were dried out. It was like watching someone eat beef jerky. My tots were cold and greasy like they had sat, not even under a warmer. The waiter FINALLY acknowledged us when we asked for the check and asked if everything was ok. We told him no, the beer was warm and the food was cold. He said "sorry about that" and that was it. when he brought the check he stood and waited for my friend to pull out his card... was the most we saw the waiter. Won't be back. Poor food and service. Was super disappointed.

We picked a busy weekend to come here. It was Baylor move in weekend AND a sold out concert that brought 40,000 people into Waco. Understandably the wait was long. Colin came in on his day off and was hosting AND serving a large section. As a host he kept us informed as to the wait time and the reason. Once seated his attention to our party of 6 was prompt and transparent. The food was great and the service was better. Colin encouraged us to take the wait and his service made it worth it. Thank you Colin.

Nestled within the popular Hotel Indigo in Waco, Brazos Bar & Bistro is a contemporary-casual dining venue that prides itself on serving locally sourced American cuisine and craft cocktails. Despite its name, this spot is not just a bar; it's also renowned for its exceptional breakfast and brunch offerings. With a chic and trendy ambiance, this bistro has gained recognition for its delicious brunch menu featuring simple yet beautifully presented tacos and delightful mimosas.
My husband and I had the street tacos and seafood linguine for the first time. We would highly recommend and go would there again. Shout out to Blake our server, he was great. Dim lighting was nice. It can be a little pricey. Btw, the water is filtered three times.

Restraint Be Damned — That Chocolate Cake Changed Everything. Brazos Bar & Bistro | Review I walked in expecting elegance—expecting restraint. I imagined small plates, refined flavors, and a slow dance of taste that knew exactly when to whisper and when to roar. For a moment, I thought I was right. The space? Slick. Airy. Like it knew what it was doing. Then came the avalanche. Let me take you through it. ⸻ Cocktail – Cowboy Manhattan A measured pour served in a chilled martini glass, punctuated by a mysterious black cherry (or was it an olive?). Not bad, but not memorable. The drink didn’t carry the weight of its name—it leaned more polite than rugged. But it got the job done. 3/5 ⸻ Starter – Stuffed Avocado This was the sleeper hit. Creamy Hass avocado, warm adobo chicken, cool pico, queso fresco—it was balanced. Flavorful. A textural masterpiece. The only mistake? It was built like an entrée. If I’d finished it, I wouldn’t have had room for the rest. As an appetizer, it was too much of a good thing. But still, 4.5/5 for flavor and surprise alone. ⸻ Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts Overcooked, oversauced, overwhelmed. It looked like the sprouts had been roasted, forgotten, then hastily rescued with a bath of sticky, cloying sauce. It didn’t cling—it drowned. There was no charred snap, no fresh nuttiness from the peanuts. Just heat and heaviness. 1.5/5 ⸻ Entrée – Bourbon Peach Chops Two giant pork chops—two—slathered with a handful of peach slices. Not sauce. Peaches. It looked more like Sunday supper for a group of six than a thoughtful plated dish. The garlic parmesan potatoes were a mystery lump in the middle, mistaken at first glance for a third chop. Over-portioned to the point of parody. Zero elegance. 2/5 ⸻ Redemption – The Chocolate Cake And just when I was ready to walk out with a clean-cut 3-star, in came the miracle. This cake didn’t ask for forgiveness. It demanded silence. A thick, moist brick of deep, dark chocolate, draped in glossy ganache, and topped with delicate shards—almost like cocoa glass. Every bite was rich but not cloying, bold but balanced. It didn’t just redeem the meal—it transcended it. This cake didn’t save the day—it became the day. 5/5. Easily. ⸻ Final Verdict: 4 Stars (Raised by Chocolate Grace) This place fumbled the promise of fine dining with oversized portions and careless presentation—but damn if that chocolate cake didn’t pull it from the fire. That and the avocado made the experience worth it—even if I had to dig through a mess to find the gold. Come for the cake. Stay for the avocado. Bring a friend to split everything else. Bon Appétit.

Located inside the hotel, it’s not a standalone restaurant. Service was great, seating was comfortable and he explained things on the menu we didn’t understand as a first time guest. The pork chops are AMAZING! They deserve five stars on their own. We went around 4pm and there was no big crowd which we preferred.

Pizza. Wings. Beer. And salads lol local craft beer as well as regional and your typical domestics. Slices of pizza are pretty large, a whole pizza comes in 2 sizes and can feed 3 adults (14")or 5 adults (20"). Location is incredible. On the ride, a deck that overhangs the river....absolutely fabulous location 🔥 you're almost a fool to NOT come here!

I wanted to go and have a nice steak and a great time. For starters, it was a nice bar and restaurant, I did my research and it was listed as a top ten places to eat in Waco. I would have to disagree. If you want to go and have a nice drink for a high price, this would be right up your alley. The drinks were good, don’t get me wrong, but that would be the only good thing about this place. We ordered the humus as a starter and it was pretty good. Their drink menu was pretty good, i will say that their blueberry mojito, strawberry summer and their margarita was top notch. We then ordered the potato gnocchi and I was in the mood for a steak, DO NOT go for their steak, you will be disappointed. The staff was friendly but when you ask for a steak medium well and extra seasoning and it comes out looking like they heated it up in the microwave and forgot to season it, well you’re getting a horrible steak, not even worthy of being called a steak. No lie, take a look for yourself…

My family checked out Brazos Bar & Bistro for my Birthday. The ambiance was nice. Staff was attentive and food came out in a timely manner. For our starters we went with Green Chile Queso and Shishito Peppers. Both are great. My Barren of Mules was enjoyable and refreshing. My husband when with a stout from Barrow Brewing Co. As for our food both the Thunderbird sandwich and the J.R Ewing Burger tasted average. My husband was not asked how he would like his beef patty cooked so it was well-done. The flatbread was okay, nothing special about it. My Chicken Montelongo was very good. I would recommend it. And the Pork Belly Tacos was not appetizing at all. Everyone that tried it could not eat it. Thank goodness it came with a good amount of sides. Overall the ambiance itself is nice, staff is professional, and drinks are good. As for the food it is quite expensive with flavor comparative to any cheep of fast food restaurant. If you are staying at the hotel it may be a good option. But we will not be going out of our way to visit any time soon.

Restaurant
Chuy's is a popular Tex-Mex chain known for its vibrant and lively atmosphere, complete with colorful decor and an Elvis-heavy theme. With its eclectic and funky restaurants, each location offers a unique experience, from quirky decorations to an outdoor patio that welcomes leashed pets. The menu features a mix of classic Tex-Mex dishes and innovative creations, including the famous 'big as yo' face' burritos and the flavorful Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom enchilada.
Chuy's is our favorite place to eat wherever we can find it! Visiting Waco, we were so glad to find it when we Googled nearby restaurants. The food is always top notch. The chips are light and crispy. The white sauce is so good I'd lick the bowl clean if I wasn't in public. Often I get the chimichanga, but this time I got the flautas and they were amazing and plentiful. My husband always gets the enchilada and gets a fried egg on top. We can't get enough! The waitress was so friendly and fun. They are dog-friendly on the patio and it's sheltered from the wind so we didn't have any problem with our little dog.

We came here on a Thursday night of Baylor graduation weekend. It was packed. Luckily there was plenty of parking. We only had 3 people so we did not have to wait even though there were larger groups waiting. Restaurant was clean with some cool decor. The service was good. Our waitress kept checking on us even though it was extremely busy. The food was good and in my opinion inexpensive. Starter chips and sauces upon request. I had the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo. It had a little bit of everything. I was unable to completely finish my plate, which is a rare occurrence. It might have been because of all the delicious chips I ate before it came out. I took the rest with me and heated the next day. Definitely a good experience.

Fun Atmosphere, Flavorful Fajitas, and Margaritas Worth Coming Back For ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chuy’s never disappoints when it comes to fun vibes, bold flavors, and a Tex-Mex experience that feels like a little fiesta every time. We stopped in for dinner, and everything from the service to the drinks hit the mark. I went with the chicken fajitas, and they came out sizzling just the way they should—hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, with perfectly grilled onions and peppers. Wrap all that up in a warm tortilla with some of their house-made guac and boom—you’ve got a party on your plate. And speaking of parties, their house margarita is no joke. It was smooth, strong, and refreshing with that just-right balance of citrus and tequila. Definitely one of the better house margs I’ve had in a while. My wife ordered the cheese enchiladas, and she was all smiles from the first bite. The enchilada sauce had a rich, smoky flavor that brought the whole dish together, and she raved about the creamy, melty cheese inside. Her strawberry margarita was fruity, fresh, and not overly sweet—just how she likes it. The whole experience had that signature Chuy’s charm—colorful decor, upbeat energy, and a staff that genuinely seems to enjoy making sure you have a good time. Whether you’re craving sizzling fajitas, cheesy comfort food, or just a great margarita with your better half, Chuy’s delivers. We’ll definitely be back for round two (and probably round three). Highly recommend!

“Overfed and Underwhelmed: My Chuy’s Waco Experience” When you walk into a restaurant, the welcome sets the tone. At Chuy’s in Waco, that opening note fell flat. I was greeted not with hospitality but with a finger point — “take that one over there.” It’s a small thing, but it frames the whole meal. Restaurants aren’t just about food; they’re about how people feel when they sit down. Chips and salsa landed quickly, and I’ll give credit where it’s due: the chips were whisper-thin, crunchy, and almost weightless, the kind of chip that shatters between your teeth. A perfect vehicle for dips. The green salsa (creamy jalapeño, as I later recalled) was bright and flavorful, though it arrived sloppily streaked on the bowl’s rim. That lack of wipe-down before hitting the table summed up a service style that felt hurried and inattentive. The red salsa? Uneventful. Thin, watery, and missing the spark of heat or depth of flavor you expect at a Tex-Mex table. The appetizer — Fajita Chicken Nachos, listed as “Ponchos” — was both the high point and the downfall of the meal. Piled high with cheese, guacamole, jalapeños, pico de gallo, and smoky chicken, the plate looked like a Tex-Mex parade. And to be fair, it tasted good. But here’s the catch: this “appetizer” could feed two people comfortably. As a solo diner, it left me overwhelmed. This is where portion control matters. A fine-dining kitchen knows when to scale down. Chuy’s, for all its color and kitsch, doesn’t seem interested in balance — they lean on abundance as their calling card. I had planned to order an entrée, but there was no way. The Ponchos were too much. I pivoted instead to dessert: Tres Leches cake. Again, size ruled the day. The slice was huge, swimming in sweet milk, drizzled with caramel, and topped with strawberries. It looked the part and tasted fine — moist, rich, traditional. But after a mountain of nachos, it became too much of too much. Sometimes indulgence needs restraint to really shine. To drink, I chose the Coconut Mojito. Fresh mint, lime, and coconut promised tropical refreshment, and it looked crisp in the glass. But flavor-wise, it never transcended. It was fine — but didn’t taste crafted with the hand of a mixologist. The service echoed the theme: functional but uninspired. My server, Sean, delivered food without energy, brought the check before I’d ordered dessert, and never once suggested an add-on or upsell. In another context, that restraint might be appreciated, but here it felt more like disengagement. The décor leaned into Chuy’s trademark quirk: walls crowded with chihuahua artwork. Some diners find it playful; I found it more distracting than charming. Combined with the lunchtime lull and a lack of warmth in the room, the vibe just didn’t pull me in. At the end, I tally a mixed experience. The Ponchos were tasty, the chips light, the creamy jalapeño dip memorable. But portion sizes bulldozed subtlety, the service lacked spark, and the overall hospitality felt half-hearted. A restaurant’s response to reviews often shows how much they value guests. A glance at Google reveals silence from management — a telling detail. Chuy’s has its loyal fans, and I understand why. Big plates, bold toppings, and colorful walls make an impression. But for me, it never rose above “okay.” Not bad, not terrible, just not somewhere I’d hurry back. I’ll give it four stars, and that’s generous — carried mainly by those fajita chicken Ponchos.

I approached the host for a table for me and my husband. The host, named Emma, in Waco, TX, told me to button up my top, claiming it was a kid-friendly establishment. For context, I was wearing a button-up shirt with only the first button undone, showing a small part of my upper chest and lower abdomen. I told her I would not button it up and asked why I needed to. I also requested to see the policy or dress code that stated my outfit was inappropriate. She then tried to embarrass me in front of her coworkers and other guests, which was completely uncalled for. Thankfully, I didn’t let her behavior get to mei refused and was seated to my table .The manager later came to our table, served our food, and didn’t say a word about my outfit. I’m extremely upset by how unprofessional she was clearly intimidated! Jealousy is so ugly take care Emma !

We used to go to the original in Austin. Definitely not as good as back then. Chips used to be homemade and thin but now just bagged style chips. Definitely has a different style to tex-mex but many good items worth trying like the steak burrito, flaunts, and my favorite the crispy tacos and the Mexi Cobb salad. Anything and everything with creamy jalapeño sauce. Enchiladas are not not my style here. Prices are fair.

Billy Bob's Burgers Bar & Grill is a laid-back eatery known for its generous sandwiches, crispy fries, and refreshing cocktails. The original location in the downtown area has been drawing in locals and tourists alike for about 5 years. Recently, they've expanded to a second spot in Hewitt. Visitors have raved about the mouthwatering pattie melt and juicy burgers served with perfectly salted crunchy fries.
Really tasty burgers with friendly staff and nice environment. I had the hot mess with onion rings. It was an excellent burger, and the rings were done nicely. We really enjoyed our meals.

Me and my father went here while we were visiting Waco. We've never been here before but the staff made us feel like we've been there are whole lives. I got the Poppin jalapeno burger with tater tots while my dad got the Texan burger with onion rings. They were down right delicious till the point that my father said it was the best burger he's ever tasted (and he loves his burgers). For me it was definitely the second tastiest burger I've ever had. 10/10 if I came here again I'm gunning for Billy's!!

A Texas-Sized Welcome with a Veggie-Friendly Surprise Billy Bob’s Burgers in Waco is the kind of place where comfort food meets classic Texas hospitality. Tucked into a cozy spot with rustic decor and a laid-back atmosphere, this burger joint might not seem like a haven for veggie lovers at first glance. But let me tell you, they know how to make a meatless burger shine. The Star of the Show: The Veggie Burger There’s something satisfying about a well-executed veggie burger, and Billy Bob’s delivers. The patty itself is hearty, packed with grains, beans, and visible flecks of vegetables, offering that satisfying bite without being overly processed. Served on a soft, slightly toasted bun, it’s layered with fresh lettuce, mustard, and pickles, keeping things simple yet effective. It’s a welcome departure from the standard beef or cheeseburger and holds its own as a tasty, filling option. Fries Done Right Golden brown, crispy on the outside, and perfectly fluffy inside—Billy Bob’s fries are everything you want in a side dish. The seasoning is spot on, bold enough to add flavor but balanced enough to avoid overpowering the potatoes. And the best part? No need for extra salt or seasoning. These fries stand tall on their own. A Cocktail with a Bite: The Texas Rattlesnake Every good meal needs a solid drink pairing, and this month’s special cocktail did not disappoint. The Texas Rattlesnake is a smooth yet punchy mix of Crown Royal, peach schnapps, sweet and sour, and 7Up, all served with a Tajín-rimmed glass for a spicy, citrusy kick. It’s the kind of drink that sneaks up on you—sweet and refreshing at first sip, with a lingering warmth that makes you want another. The Atmosphere & Service Billy Bob’s has a welcoming, no-frills vibe, with a décor that screams Texas pride—think corrugated metal, rustic wood finishes, and nods to local sports teams. The service was just as warm as the decor, with friendly staff who made sure everything was just right. Final Verdict Billy Bob’s Burgers might be known for their beef, but their veggie burger is a hidden gem. Add in top-notch fries, a creative drink selection, and a genuinely friendly atmosphere, and you’ve got a spot worth revisiting. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Waco, this is the kind of place that makes you feel right at home—Texas-sized hospitality included. 5/5 Stars – A veggie burger that doesn’t play second fiddle!

This is a good little restaurant in the heart of downtown Waco. It's a bit rustic around the edges with a bit of a "dive" feel to it. The food was excellent though and the service was friendly. I had a chicken Philly with tots on the side. The serving size was more than ample but I suppose that is normal for Texas (I'm from Indiana). The sandwich was loaded with peppers, mushrooms, and onions like a good Philly is supposed to be (they added jalapenos for me as well) the chicken was well seasoned, tender, and juicy. Even with all the stuffing, the hoagie didn't fall apart halfway through the sandwich. I would definitely recommend this little bar and grill.

Popped in during a quick visit to Waco. This place stays pretty busy, the inside is rather small. But we got a table quickly and the waitress was prompt. They have a pretty basic bar and grill menu. We got some hamburgers that where very tasty 😋! I also got a big mug of cold dos eques. I didn't see very many choices of beers, but they had some mixed drinks as well. Altogether the service was... fast. And the food was good. Nice place! 👍.

During a trip from Austin to Dallas, my family and I stumbled upon Christi's Burgers, a hidden gem that offers a unique and nostalgic dining experience. This place has retained its old-school charm, with a menu that seems to have remained unchanged since its opening, albeit with slightly higher prices. The staff operates efficiently and has an interesting way of wrapping the burgers for serving. Speaking of which, the burgers themselves are truly exceptional, made with fresh ingredients that create a classic taste.
Visiting Waco. Tried this restaurant because of the reviews. They were right. This place is great. Food was delicious, atmosphere was awesome, prices were very reasonable and staff were very friendly. If I'm ever back this way, I'll eat here again. There were 3 people in our party and 3 meals were less than $30.

Every time I think I’ve found my favorite burger in town, I discover a new place. I found Christi’s looking for lunch near my hotel. The burger was perfect with good flavor. I also tried my tater tots “Frisco style” which is chili, cheese and chopped up weenies. A nice indulgence! But more than anything else, I would come back just to interact with the staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Very much a family friendly vibe going on here! Great job to everyone, I will definitely be visiting again on my next trip.

Christi is doin’ it right up in Bellmead. Raised in the kitchen from the age of eleven, doin things exactly the way her daddy taught her 30 years ago. The burger tastes like Texas. The oniony, mustardy, cast iron griddle crispy patty and perfectly buttered bun… it’s just… so good. And it’s like 8 bucks for burger, fries, and a drink. Christy, if you’re reading this, raise your prices. I’d pay 20% more at minimum, and so would every single one of your loyal customers. You deserve it. Charge what this piece of food art is worth. Keep cookin’ with that TLC. Go get YOU a burger at Christi’s! Tell her Bryan from Toast sent you.

5 stars simply isn't enough for this location. If you are from Waco or the surrounding area, you know this place isn't a well kept secret. Personally, I am a sucker for a good burger. In and Out.....Whataburger.....whatever other place you want to list can't lay a finger on this location. The quality...the amazingly friendly staff (they will learn your name and know you on sight) the atmosphere and even the prices are just impossible to beat. Old fashioned hamburgers served up with an old fashioned smile and service. 10 out of 10 recommend to anyone and everyone either from Waco or parts unknown. If you are visiting from out of town or just passing through...you will NOT be disappointed. Try the Frisco Fries!

What a great little local burger dive! The sign on the window says "best burger in town" and I bet it's right! Everything was made to order and just the way we asked for it. The staff was friendly and busy. The soda fountain was Dr. Pepper and even had RC cola which you don't see very often! The kids loved their burger and corn dog. My husband devoured his double cheeseburger and I got a single patty. We split the Frisco tots and they were so good! Pretty much just what you would expect from chili cheese tots with bits of hot dog in it and fresh onion on top. We stopped in at 12:30 on a Thursday. There were a couple of people waiting on their orders in front of us and about 10 people came in behind us. Service was pretty fast considering how many people were in there. I didn't see a bathroom but it may have been hidden and I didn't ask. There was plenty of seating. Nothing fancy at all, but a clean burger joint with good food. What more could you ask for?

Great, friendly fast service! The food was fresh and really good. Tarot tots and fries are both excellent!

I was told that Christi's has amazing burgers. I was not misled. Great burgers! Clean restaurant and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Stopped by here with some family while Traveling from Austin to Dallas. We were looking for a little something off the beaten path and we really found it with Christi’s. This place is as old school as you can get, the menu appears to be exactly the same as the day the doors open but with higher prices. The folks have a very efficient system and unique way of wrapping the burgers for service. The burger itself was top notch with very fresh ingredients, fries were awesome also. This is a classic burger in the truest sense.

Harvest on 25th is a farm-to-table restaurant in Waco, Texas that offers a unique and delicious breakfast experience. The menu features a variety of options including strawberry lemon poppy pancakes, blackberry lavender french toast, and a brunch socca with flatbread, pistachio pesto, caramelized onions, roasted tomatoes, avocado and egg.
We came here because we like the selection available on the menu. If you eat meat, they have some good options, as well. I had the hamburger which was very flavorful. The vegetables were fresh and delicious. The service was fantastic. They were very nice and helpful.

Harvest on 25th is a very nice brunch place in Waco! The food was really good and we loved their sweet/savory options. The service was really nice but it does take a bit for the food to come to our table (it was really busy so it makes sense). The atmosphere was also very nice and pleasant. Overall, I’d definitely recommend coming here when in Waco!

This was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered the margherita pizza which was pretty flavorful but a little lacking and I also got the Pesto chicken Sammie sandwich with sweet potato fries. This sandwich was very disappointing to say the least. Good idea but poorly executed I would say. The chicken was super dry and the sandwich overall was very dry, could have used more of some sauce that added moisture. Did not finish sandwich and for $16 I would have expected more flavor. The sweet potato fries were super charred and was a bit too charred for me, even though I do like certain foods cooked this way. Not sure I would return to try again. Very disappointing for my first visit. UPDATE: Really appreciate Harvest responding so quickly and refunding the cost of my sandwich. Might give them a second chance to stop by just for the prompt follow up.

Truly a wonderful dining experience. Whether you live in or are just passing through Waco make a plan to eat here. From the scones to the migas to the coffee, everything was delicious. We will definitely stop in again when traveling to The Big D.

Tried this place while driving through town and it was good for the most part. I had the Mushroom and Zucchini omelette which surprisingly was delicious. The sauce they used was different and elevated the taste of the omelette. I also had the pancakes which I felt were pretty basic and a bit dry. Overall experience was good.

Stopped by for lunch and ordered the falafel salad (vegan). Good meal. The ordering process was simple: place your order, receive a ticket, find your table, and set the ticket down kinda of smooth and straightforward Parking can be a bit tricky, especially during peak hours or if 25th Street is busy. I asked if it was okay to park next door and they kindly approved it The customer service was wonderful, friendly and helpful throughout

Nice little place to stop for a bite to eat. The workers were really nice and friendly. Food was fresh and service was quick (even at lunch)

Taqueria El Crucero is a popular breakfast and lunch spot in Waco, known for its authentic Mexican fare at affordable prices. The unassuming eatery offers a solid selection of traditional tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and more. It's a favorite among locals for its friendly atmosphere and great customer service. This drive-thru-only gem also stands out for its generous portions of food and freshly brewed coffee.
Best breakfast tacos in Waco! Good pricing. Great quality. Large quantity. Hot and fresh. Fresh brewed coffee. Amazing customer service. Drive thru only. Cash PREFERRED. Credit card has fee. Some parking in the back.

Excellent breakfast tacos. The tortillas are fresh and not store bought. I thought I was going to take a while in the drive thru, but as soon as I pulled up someone came outside to my truck in the drive thru to take my order. Excellent customer service at the window as well. They only take cash FYI. The tacos were amazing as well.

Love this place! Every time I come the family is super sweet, the food is bomb, and the service incredible. Please stop by (try the green salsa and the pineapple water!) Support mom and pop shops.

Quiet mom and pop mexican restaurant serving just breakfast and lunch. Everything's homemade. I've tried the burritos and spanish omelets. Both were amazing and full of flavor. Drive-thru and cash only. There might be a tiny wait but the food is delicious and well worth it!

My favorite food in Waco. Amazing pork in verde sauce. Get a pupusa on the side! Corn tortillas are the best I've ever had.

Fabulous food! "Hole in the wall" is accurate, but you don't go to a taqueria (Mexican fast food) necessarily for the atmosphere--it's about the food! I visited Waco from Wisconsin, and went here based on its 4.6 star rating. I agree with 4.6! I had the Oso Enchiladas (pork with green sauce). Excellent! Their tortillas are hand-made. No chips and salsa, but food is "muy sabor"!

Whataburger is a classic fast-food chain that has been serving up delicious counter-serve burgers since the 1950s. It's known for its stacked patties and breakfast options, like the breakfast burger combo. While some customers have had mixed experiences with the service, others have encountered friendly and accommodating staff members, making their visit a pleasant one. Despite varying encounters with staff members, many visitors appreciate the cleanliness of Whataburger locations.
I’m not usually a fan of beef burgers, so I decided to try the chicken sandwich instead, and I was pleasantly surprised! It was delicious. The customer service was exceptional as well. I was so hungry that I didn’t get a chance to take a picture, but I’ll definitely be back!

We stopped here for a quick dinner. Plenty of parking outside. There’s lots of seating inside and a drive thru. It’s very clean and has a good atmosphere. This location is 24 hours and serves breakfast for 12 hours. The staff was very friendly, but unprofessional. There were a lot of high school and college kids working, didn’t seem like they had worked there that long. The food was just ok. The French fries were very good. I really enjoyed the spicy ketchup they gave as an option. The burger was just ok. Not the worst fast food burger I’ve eaten, but far from the best. I will say the burger was huge. I got a double, but the Pattie’s were much bigger than other fast food chains.

Had the Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger with fries and their Nashville hot boneless wings. Fries were a 6/10 but the burger was AMAzing!!!!!!! So good and juicy amazing flavors had a great kick of spice. The sweat tea was actually sweet and was pretty good actually. After ordering when the order is done the actually deliver it to your table staff was nice.

Tell me why they had me waiting 45 minutes just to serve me this disgrace. Bread was hard, fries looked alright but I was not going to eat them because there is no telling how old they were since the burger had grown mold.
Joshua O — Google review
After order, I was never given a cup for my drink. I had to ask. When my order arrived for dining in, they didn't bring out any ketchup like they normally do. Food was lukewarm. As I sat in the restaurant eating, a lot of dirty tables were there .with no efforts being made to clean them. As I watch people fill their drink cups, 2 of the fountain drinks were out. All they had to do is switch tanks. Whataburger, you can sure do better than this

15+ minutes in drive-thru line & order was still missing items. We are a business & eat there regularly. The guy working the drive-thru line outside was super friendly. I had to ask for my receipt, then wait for a long time (while my food was getting cold) to get it. Then there were missing utensils and dipping sauce when I got to destination to eat. DO BETTER GUYS!!!
DKAML05 — Google review
Order 142765998: Placed my order on the app about 15+ min before my arrival. Arrived there after my order was set to be ready according to the app. There was no clear place for mobile pickup orders. It was about 4:30pm on a Saturday, there was one cashier and LOTS of other staff just standing around. I was never acknowledged standing at the counter. I finally got someone's attention and asked if I needed to stand in line just to pick up a mobile order, there were about 3 families in line. She asked for my name and said she would check on my order, she went to the back and disappeared, never saw her again. In the meantime, I was hoping the women's bathroom would open up as the cleaning sign was up blocking it from the time I walked in. I do appreciate a clean bathroom, but as a traveler stopping in and needing to use the facilities, I'm guessing it was 15 min before she was finished cleaning. It was so urgent that I even peaked my head in and asked if I could come in, but she told me "no". Finally I walked over to where the drink station is and through the window I could see a girl with a headset just standing by the tea maker in the back. I asked for her help and she checked on my order and said they were still waiting on fries and proceeded to walk off. I stopped her and asked if they were making my drinks or if I was expected to get them myself (efficiency was majorly lacking here). She informed me that they don't even know what kind of drinks I ordered, even though the app gave me the option to specify and even option to request extra ice or no ice, condiments, etc. Waited about another 5 min on my fries that were ultimately not fresh. Didn't get any of the condiments specifically requested in the app. None of the staff seemed to be Management. All young kids mostly socializing versus trying to help with orders or acknowledging customers. So, moral of the story, if you're stopping here because you're in a hurry, don't. AND double check your order, especially straws, condiments, and napkins (of which I had none).
Amanda L — Google review
Food quality at all locations have gone down over the years. The hamburger patties are so generic now. Used to taste real and homemade. Now they're just like flat patties. Might as well grill at home.
