Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Las Delicias is a casual Mexican eatery located in a strip mall at 4002 Park Ave, Memphis, TN. The restaurant offers traditional Mexican dishes with a focus on housemade tortillas and guacamole. While the decor may be basic, the real draw here is the food.
Came here with my Mother for lunch the other day, and there was zero wait. I brought my 13 month old with me, and the host who seated us graciously set up a high chair for us. The table we were seated at was diagonally in the corner, so it was a little tight getting in and out. The service was awesome and the food was awesome - I ordered the steak burrito and Mom got the chicken flautas. Portion sizes were smaller than usual, but it was still tasty, fresh, and filling and came out super fast. Our drinks were never empty, and the bill was less than $30 for two meals, a guac appetizer, and a basket of freshly made chips and salsa!

I had the steak and pastor burrito and guacamole. Both were very delicious. Their homemade chips are good as well. The atmosphere could use a bit of work. Perhaps some compeling art and music playing would be nice. The server was polite, although he seemed a bit uncomfortable addressing me. Overall, a pretty decent experience.

Came for lunch with a buddy. My first time, but I had read many good reviews. When I suggested it, he confirmed that it was a favorite of his. We had chunky guacamole, homemade chips and fish tacos. All delicious. Lives up to its name.

Came here for lunch with a coworker (Sept 11) and we were seated immediately (it was after the lunch rush). I ordered the Tortilla Soup (tortilla strips on the side) and 2 chicken tacos. The tacos were good once I added the 2 different sauces on top but the chicken was a little dry. I didn’t finish the soup as it wasn’t that good with a lot of cheese mixed in it. I definitely wouldn’t order that again. The chips and salsa was good, though! Our waiter, Juan, was rude and we had to ask for refills on the chip and salsa, etc. My coworker raved about this place because of a particular waitress makes it memorable but this time she wasn’t there and it simply was a BUST.
Ashley S — Google review
I have ordered steak tacos from them twice on Uber eats. Always so excited to get my food. And DISAPPOINTED every time with NO TOPPINGS as described in the details on uber eats. Waste of money. Plain steak on a tortilla. No cilantro, and no onions. EVERY TIME!

Me and some friends came out to this location we ordered don Julio and boy oh boy they charged us for it but it definitely wasn't that it had to be some of the cheapest tequila in that damn place we asked our waitress to get the manager he said it was don Julio I told him sir it's definitely not Don I wasn't even gonna argue with him because I know how my liquor taste when you go to the establishment be aware they don't give you what you ask for they can not continue to treat us like this when we spending our money in there last time ever visiting this place !

Food was great felt really authentic everything was fresh and quality. Service was a bit slow but that was given seemed to only be one of her. Atmosphere was great the background music mixed with the subtle silence
Angrin W — Google review
Inside the building is very dated. We were seated as a party of four at a small table placed against the wall. We had to move our table away from the wall to make space for ourselves and the other customers. The food was too salty. Chips were hard. Salsa was boring.

Latin American restaurant
BABALU in East Memphis offers a vibrant and modern setting to savor inventive Southern-influenced tacos, tapas, and cocktails. The restaurant has recently revamped its outdoor patio with features like overhead covering, retractable walls, new furniture, and improved acoustics to ensure a comfortable dining experience regardless of the weather. This sleek Mexican eatery is known for its tableside guacamole preparation and creative cocktail offerings.
Thanks Britt for recommending this spot. My eyes popped out while reading the menu!! I wanted to try EVERYTHING. I ordered the duck quesadilla and an al pastor taco. LOTS of food - just one triangle of the quesadilla was heavy, full of meat and bigger than the whole taco. FLAVORS WERE AMAZINGLY FRESH! Dang this was good. Didn't expect these in-house made chips either! They were very good (especially with lime) but I think they should be served with salsa... or SOMETHING. Overall, I spent $24 before tipping. I would DEFINITELT go back. ❤️

Visited this place on good Friday. Its always crowded but this time it was not. Walked to the hostess podium the hostess was assisting another couple she didn't speak or address us. She came back from seating them still didn't address us but waited until a group of Caucasian people stepped in to address them then only speaking to us when the people she addressed looked at us. I was tempted to just not even stay but it was my Birthday so I wasn't going to let anyone ruin my day. The waitress was very nice and polite suggested her favorites on the menu. The food was okay the drinks were okay didn't taste much alcohol. For the place to be crowded regularly I expected top tier food and drinks.

Nice place. Really cute! I got the Honey Shrimp and Steak on the stick. The dishes are well presented..so cute and really good! Only thing I can say is the Brussel sprouts were alittle overcooked but the potatoes and steak were really good. I also had the Guava Rita, super good with the pink peppercorn! They do have outside seating on the backside by the bar.

Dined in for lunch today. The food was not worth the price and we unfortunately had bad service as well. I ordered a Cobb salad and was brought the wrong salad, which isn’t a big deal, but I sat and waited for over 20 minutes for the correct salad to be brought over. It seemed like our waitress forgot about our table. Everyone else at the table was done eating by the time I received my correct salad so I had to put it in a to-go box - it ended up being wasted as we had plans following lunch. The waitress seemed to not care in the slightest. When we were brought the bill they had charged us for two salads so we then had to wait for a corrected bill. Would not recommend! For this price point there are many other better options.

Ate at this restaurant for lunch during a trip to Memphis. It's in a good area because there are other shops around that you can visit before or after your meal. I like the restaurant's layout and they have inside and outside dining areas. The service was good and the staff I encountered were all friendly. I ordered the tacos and rosti potatoes. The tacos were good but a bit pricey for what you actually get. The potatoes were great and I would recommend them if you visit. It was a good meal and I would eat here again if I was in the area.

My partner and I have been eating at Babalu for many years because of the great atmosphere and delicious food. Because of our previously great experiences, we decided to host our graduation party at the Overton location on the patio. Overall, the actual event went well, but not without some serious issues with management during the planning stage. I started planning around 5 months in advance to make sure everything went smoothly, which did not help at all. It was incredibly difficult to get in touch with Babalu during this time, and they were initially sending correspondence to the completely wrong email address for weeks. There seemed to be no communication among the management due to confusion when talking to different managers. There were many times that a member of the management team did not know or remember our event date, time, location, or catering choices. At one point, someone told us we wouldn't be allowed to serve alcohol on the patio because after much correspondence, they STILL thought they were catering an at-home party. The whole experience was stressful and incredibly frustrating. They did not give a quote for the cost until a few days before, and when we checked on other details the day before, they had many things written down completely wrong. During the actual event, we had a singular waitress for over 20 people, and were not given appetizer plates. We had to beg for napkins other than the few cocktail napkins that were provided. I will never host another event at this location due to these frustrations.

I stopped by Babalú Latin Restaurant and was served by John and Brady, who made the experience feel effortless and welcoming. I tried the Lavish Lemon Spritz, which was light, crisp, and perfectly balanced with citrusy brightness. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, the service is top tier, and the cocktails are worth coming back for.

Babalu has been my favorite restaurant for 10 years. I actually worked there for a couple years then continue going to eat regularly for the past decade. I get the same thing pretty much every time- shrimp tacos & rosti potatos. So, I went this weekend and was pretty disappointed to find that they changed the recipe for the shrimp tacos. They used to come with cilantro slaw, comeback sauce, & Cotija cheese- a perfect recipe. They were delicious. Now that the recipe changed, it did not sound appealing at all so I decided to order something else. I got the steak on a stick because it’s served with the rosti potatos. I was with a group of 5 people and it took over 40 minutes for our food to come out which was weird because it was a Sunday evening and not even busy, but we were chillin & drinking so it was fine. But then when the food did come out, I was again pretty disappointed. 2/3 of my steak skewers were good, but one of the skewers was nothing but super fatty inedible meat. And the rosti potatos were the driest I’ve ever received after probably 500 trips to this restaurant over the past decade. I asked for some extra teriyaki glaze for the potatos and was brought some sort of sweet & sour sauce instead. Also, my friend tried to order 3 separate drinks that were all out of stock. Our waitress was nice, but overall this was by far the most disappointing dining experience I’ve ever had here. My friends enjoyed their food and maybe I was a bit more critical because I expected the dining experience I’ve always received here. Anyway, unless they bring back the old shrimp tacos & the comeback sauce, I probably won’t even go back again which is super sad for me.

Mexican restaurant
Molly's La Casita is a well-established Mexican restaurant located in the heart of Midtown, Memphis. It has been a neighborhood institution for over 30 years and is known for its owner, Molly Gonzales. The food at Molly's is decent, with standout items like queso and bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp. The restaurant offers updated menu options while still serving comforting favorites like Mr. Bruce's Nachos and half-and-half margaritas.
Wonderful! Hadn't been in 20 years, but was absolutely wonderful. Salsa was super fresh, had a light cumin taste. The highlight was easily the "Kelly's Bean Dip", totally different than most but excellent flavor. My dish was the 2 tamale lunch special, the chile gravy sauce is to die for and the white cheese is excellent. Also I can't recommend the Mexican Spinach enough! Absolute gem of a place, and has kept the taste I'd remembered in a way few can for decades. Budget wise, good deal too. Cheaper than plenty of bigger places; though as a comment steak and snapper are both to market price. Still, for the quality here? Absolutely worth it!

Awesome flavor and good prices. We got the chicken and steak fajitas. Cute little restaurant.

I loved it! The food was so delicious and filling. It had perfect flavor and just as a whole was amazing. The service was a little slow, but they were nice! Service being slow could be because they are short staffed maybe. Super nice and interior is so pretty!
Sandy V — Google review
We arrived about 7:15 on Thursday before Memorial Day. Things seemed a bit off. I am from outta town but visit often and Molly’s is a gotta go place! Patrons were backing up at the door with no Greeter. The restaurant was basically empty. Finally the crowd was noticed and we were seated. It took a minute but we were greeted by a wonderful server named Molly. She had been triple seated in the mayhem along with as 10 top she was servicing. She handled the challenge like a pro! We decided to order drinks and food all together to the some stress away from her duties. She never missed a beat. The orders were perfect. She checked on us with. Smile. Quesadillas were delicious and as always margaritas and beer hit the spot. The establishment does have a mandatory 20% gratuity added to the checks. Thanks Molly for making our night! A job well done!
Charlotte R — Google review
The food is great. The service is equally good. I love sitting outside on the back patio here because it's quiet and warm -- ya'll don't crash my party!
Rami D — Google review
I love Molly's. I came here for my 21st birthday, I brought my son for his 21st birthday a few years ago, and last night I stopped in for dinner to celebrate my 51st birthday. While I wouldn't necessarily call it authentic Mexican, it's home style and comforting. The salsa is tasty, the queso is creamy, and the staff are always welcoming. My go to dish is the mole-- again, it might not be the most authentic mole ever, but it's rich and delicious, and one of the first versions I ever tried, so it remains a favorite of mine. Last night, unfortunately, there was a party going on, and I think the kitchen got a little distracted. My son and I both ordered the T Man dinner, the Thursday special-- two cheese and onion enchiladas topped with mole sauce and two sides. I asked for refried beans and the spicy green beans; my son requested the green beans and the sauteed vegetables. When our meals came out, my impression was that they had been left under the salamander a little too long. The mole was cooked to dryness on top of the enchiladas, and I couldn't tell if my beans were green or refried. I will say that our meals weren't bad-- the sauteed mushrooms in my son's mixed vegetables were delicious, and the rest was flavorful enough-- it just wasn't my best Molly's experience ever. Was I mad about it? Nope. I ate and enjoyed it. Will I be back? Of course. Everyone is entitled to an off night. But I might just veer away from mole next time, and try something else from their nicely packed menu.
Jennifer W — Google review
I e been going to Molly’s since she served out her back door. Used to live across the street, 42 years ago. Never a bad meal. Today I had the chicken tortilla soup, don’t know why it took so long. Amazing blend of spices. Best I’ve ever had. Pair it with a half-n-half and you can’t go wrong.
George L — Google review
One of my favorite restaurants in this part of town. I recommended Molly's to some out of town guests and blushed when I later learned that they witnessed a fight in the restaurant. How very Memphis! It speaks volumes that both my guests and my family shrugged it off and later returned for the sake of the overall experience.

Restaurant
Las Tortugas Deli Mexicana is a modest cafe that offers authentic Mexican cuisine made with local ingredients. The setting is adorned with humorous posters and papers, and the owner, Pepe Magallenes, takes pride in serving un-Americanized Mexican food. The menu features tortas and tacos with an emphasis on fresh ingredients like avocado, cilantro, cotija cheese, sweet onions, and spiced cucumber salad. Traditional aguas frescas are also available to complement the flavorful dishes.
The food is 💯 authentic Mexico City Mexican food. The owner Pepe is knowledgeable and friendly. He ensures everything is fresh! They have 2 locations. Both are fantastic! You can't go wrong eating here!

Went here right before my graduation and, clumsy me, spilt a full cup of Jamaica juice everywhere. Felt terrible, but immediately the sweetest staff jumped up, even a kind woman on her break. Encouraging me it was okay, cleaning after me, bringing me wet paper towels. Their kindness shaped my mood for the day, I hope I get the chance to see these amazing women again in next times I go☺️
Elizabeth — Google review
I love the sense of pride that the owner seems to have for this place. All of their accomplishments over the years cover the walls and give such a nice sense of confidence coming in to dine (for me, anyway!). We started with some chips and guacamole. The chips are on the thicker side and taste great! Excellent with the chunky guacamole. For mains, I had carne asada tacos, he had the mole chicken tacos. All of the little sauces that they gave us to have with them were unmatched. You're not doing it right if you don't use them. My only even remotely negative comment was that my carne asada didn't get slightly crispy like you would typically expect. It needed just a little longer in the pan. It was seasoned absolutely perfectly though and I still definitely left a satisfied customer!

I’ve been eating las tortugas my entire life. The chicken timga tacos are my favorite ever. Only thing I recently am not a fan of is the music that’s been playing from the tv that has an eerie almost siren like sound. Thank you Las Tortugas you are the best !

Nice place, but to overpriced for what they serve. Food was mid, we order 3 different plates nothing really stand out, had a orchata drink that tasted nasty couldn't finish it. Not worth it

We had a great visit to Las Tortugas and appreciated the effort and time Pepe put into explain the menu and what his restaurant was all about. Pepe for President!! super nice and friendly guy. The food was fresh tasting and nicely prepared. Sure a little on the pricey side, but like Pepe said "you are going to say two things..oh it cost to much and then later you will drop money off in the tip jar saying oh this was so cheap for what we got and here is a tip!" We got the street corn and 100% recommend that. Also got some steak tacos and shrimp tacos. Not really sure we ordered off the menu. He just said let me know what you like and I will make you something you will love. Also get the Mango and Lemon drinks. I highly recommend those as well! we topped it all off with the fried cheese and unfortunately we were not a fan of it. great presentation and it had some nice spices on it but not a fan of the hard crisp texture. $10 was also a bit on the high side and I would say it was more of a cheese crisp then fried soft cheese we were exception. but maybe more of an expectation then anything at all. I think they would go good on a salad all crumbled up. Pepe- 5 stars Food- 3 1/2 stars

Excellent, tasty, fresh Mexican food, friendly service, and a clean, modern space. The fresh guava limonada was a treat! A bit pricey, but worth it. Make sure to look for the daily specials before you order!
Alisa O — Google review
Tried multiple dishes and all were good, especially liked the flautas. More authentic than most places I’ve had in the Memphis area. A little more expensive than you would expect but don’t let that keep you away, you’re getting better Mexican food than most other local places.

There are no shortages of options for drinks here. We had the "Call a Cab" which is strong, but good. They are supporting breast cancer awareness for the month of October, and on the 14th they gave a percentage of all sales to breast cancer awareness non-profits. Very cool.

Fun atmosphere! So many daiquiris to choose from and mix with! The bartenders were nice and informative about the process since it was my first time at a Wet Willie’s! Late night snacks still tasted amazing and made to order!

Was excited about visiting Wet Willie’s again this year, but I was disappointed when arrived after 12 and was told there was no cook and they did not know what time the cook would arrive or when they would be serving food. After being there for about an hour and half we still did not get food due too the cook not being there and was not offered an apology . What a disappointment.,. There wasn’t much of an apology about our group not being able to order food. The drinks was great as usual, but having food and drinks available in the same place was the reason why we chose to go there. . I hope this gets corrected in the future. I was here celebrating a birthday girls trip. Needless to say we all were disappointed after this experience. Please do better with your customers..

The fries are soo good. I think it’s a ranch seasoning on the fries. The buffalo chicken wings was good but I like all flats so I didn’t eat the drummies. Drinks were a little too strong but my husband loved it. Thanks Memphis for the good food.

OUTSTANDING!! We’ve come to this restaurant for years and years and have enjoyed many meals here. We’ve been here with friends and family who also this Mexican oasis. The atmosphere is authentic and welcoming. The service last night was EXCEPTIONAL. We ordered the queso which was warm and creamy and a frozen margarita (off the chain good). Wife had the chicken fajitas and loved it and I ordered the salmon. The salmon was very good and the rice and black beans were a great complement for the fish. The owner came around checking on patrons, which he’s done every time we’ve eaten here. So excited that Salsa has stood the test of time and continues to thrive.

I ordered cheesy chicken and rice, added peppers and onions. They charged extra and forgot the cheese. They also didn’t include any chips and salsa with the order. The worst part is they automatically added 15% gratuities because it was a take out order. It was not busy when I came through at 7 pm so there should be no excuse for the mishaps . I will not be returning to this place.

Nice atmosphere, especially for couples in a romantic setting at night. I ate my food so fast I didn't take a picture 🙁 but they customized it the way I wanted and we're friendly! The table salsa is authentic and not bland and watery like cheap Mexican restaurants!

I’ve come here a few times. Always get great service (definitely a plus for this area). Each time the food has been great. Chips and salsa are good. Drinks have been really good as well. Only wish this restaurant was closer to my home and there were more.

Very very nice atmosphere and very nice looking inside. I forgot to get a picture but it looks great. Service was great as well. Ordered food and it came out pretty fast like most Mexican restaurants. I had the burrito Verde. It was just ok but I hope the rest of the food is better. The chips and salsa was seasoned and kind of salty. I look forward to visiting again and hopefully the food is better.

Thank you David and staff! We brought a group of 10 for a business lunch, including birthday for a staff member. We could not make a reservation, though David made coordinating a table for our group seamless. Our team was grateful to be able to get in quickly, the food was delicious and service was excellent. Thank you Kate for the superior service our table loved your kindness and quality attention! This lunch was just what the team needed to fuel the remainder of the day. 10/10 You all crushed it! Thank you for your accommodating us.

Hands down, the best Mexican Resturant around Memphis. The owner came by multiple times to check to see how we were doing before and after our meal. We had the best service. We will continue to go to this restaurant. We loved the owners love for Jesus. For an owner to express his love for Jesus is so impactful. We will always be back.

Was traveling with a service dog and was refused entry after explaining we were only ordering a drink to go for the patio and that our pup is an actual service dog not emotional support, had his registration card and was told they didn’t care and rudely demanded we wait outside. That is illegal to deny entry to a service dog. Had a flight to catch or would have notified authorities. Will never be back

Brunch restaurant
Celtic Crossing Irish Pub is a lively establishment with an outdoor patio, offering a mix of Celtic cuisine and traditional American pub fare. The bar exudes an authentic Irish pub atmosphere, complete with a diverse selection of Irish whiskey and beers. The venue features live music, trivia nights, and sports viewing on large TVs. Additionally, patrons can enjoy the expanded front porch patio while savoring Irish beer and fare or watching soccer matches.
We came down to CY for cooper young festival and I had a health event/scare that required I get in the ac quickly. We got down to Celtic crossing and even though they were packed they were extremely kind and immediately helped me get inside. A man i believe was the manager got me a chair and brought me water and checked on me the whole time, as well as the hostesses out front. I was so touched by thier kindness and concern and they couldn't have been more thoughtful. Even though we weren't there to spend money, they were amazing. I wanted to thank them when I left but they were so busy and I didn't want to be any more trouble to them and my husband had gotten our car right up to the side deck so I didn't have to go far. We will definitely be back to eat and soak up the atmosphere. Even though this isnt a review of the food, I wanted them and everyone else to know these are good and kind people who took time out of their (very) busy day to help me out. I'm sorry I didn't get names but I was too sick and my husband and family were too worried about me. Thank you so much and I will be back soon!

We stumbled across Celtic Crossing after a good night of bar hopping in Memphis, and it was a nice play to have a calm end of the night. We first started off with a round of drinks. I had a cocktail that had cucumber in it and... it was not that great. Granted, it may just be the fact that I just don't like that particular drink, so no big deal! The others enjoyed their drinks regardless. We started off food with an order of the Irish Poutine. It was really good! Probably the best dish of the night. I loved how much cheese was on it. I got the Fish & Chips and my boyfriend got the Celtic Corned Beef Sandwich. I'm not a particular fan of Corned Beef, but this sandwich changed my mind! It was incredibly savory. The Fish in the Fish & Chips was slightly bland, but the tartar sauce made up for it. The fries were also great! Make sure you order them seasoned, it makes them 10x better. Overall, great joint!

Great new menu items. We had the watermelon heirloom tomato salad, fish and chips, and county Kerry Colcannan soup. Everything was great. Staff is super friendly and helpful. We sat on the patio with our pup, and our server brought him a bowl of water.

We came for my wife Birthday, and EVERYTHING was AMAZING!!!! Adam and Debbie were so lovely, give great advices and recommendations on the food, the area, sightseeing, … The food is 100% and homemade (!!!!!) ❤️‍🔥 I am a foodie, and as I am French, I am really picky on the quality/flavor/taste/… in restaurant, and you can trust me, this place is purely awesome!!!! Definitively a Must-Eat when in Memphis and Cooper-Young area!!!!

I went to try the fish and chips and the portion size was large but the fish lacked flavor. The food was hot and fresh. My waitress was great!!!! She had a huge personality and she made my experience very relaxing. I didn’t like being sat in the corner but she made my visit special.

Their food is delicious! I love how many different items they have on the menu. Patio bingo was fun. We loved how they allowed our dog on their patio. Service was super friendly and fast. I would highly recommend for a good time and good food!

Brunch review: big omelette, the cheese in the Irish omelette is great, the potatoes they have with breakfast are also good. The best part was the boiled eggs wrapped in sausage and bread crumbs and fried. Good stuff. The soda bread slice was tiny, and don't order the French toast, skinny bread and very basic. Our waiter wasn't very attentive, and there was a big crowd of regulars watching a couple soccer games, so understand it'll be noisy and folks will be seriously drinking early if soccer is on. No complaints, just for your info.

Slider Inn in Midtown Memphis is a popular hangout spot known for its Maine lobster rolls, housemade lemonade, and cocktails. The rustic establishment offers a deck where patrons can enjoy their food and drinks. One of the must-try items is the Jameson Slushie, a refreshing concoction made with slushed ice, Peychauds bitters, homemade lemonade, and Irish whiskey.
This place has a really nice deck outside. That usually has seating available. I have visited at times when they have trivia going on as well and that was fun. The sliders are unique and really good. They have some vegetarian options for sliders as well. The fries are top-tier. They also have specialty drinks. Don’t sleep on bourbon mayo to dip your fries in.

I always pass this place and see it's busy. Decided to finally give them a chance. You can sit at the bar, patio, or at a table. The food was good. The waitress was awesome. I wish I would've tried another drink. This place is a great place to have a meal with friends and chit chat.

Been here a few times, sadly the service and food were not up to par. We went on a perfect day to sat outside, worst experience I've had in a long time. They allow smoking, so if you enjoy others puffing with no regards to others, then you may enjoy their patio. Our waitress was not pleasant, even after I spoke first. Ordered the steak and egg sliders, since it was brunch, my sliders had no seasoning, the egg was not cooked evenly, and they were just bland; as least the fries were good. I leave you this review as an opportunity to bring your business back up to the standards it was last year. I'm sorry, I have no plans to return anytime soon.

The meal was good, the service was decent, and the atmosphere was great even when the DJ went Slayer on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The meal was a bit pricey, and I'm not a fan of the added 20% gratuity, anywhere. I'll go back to try the variety of sliders!!

Ordered take-out... food was going to be ready sooner than I expected. I told the lady on the phone how far away I was, and she offered to hold off on the order for a few mins before sending it back to the kitchen. My food was ready upon arrival & hot, just like I like it, when I got home. Fries don't take long to get cold once the container is opened. Everything was delicious, and would absolutely return!

Food is very good. The Jameson Slushie is tasty. The Memphis, the Hangover, and the chicken slider were highlights.

Worst service in Memphis - and that’s saying something. Food is fine. Owner will respond to give them another shot. This was their other shot. Been coming here for years and it just keeps getting worse. Will be my last time. For some reason I get 3% better service when I come with my boyfriend instead of when I come alone even though I am the one that pays. The mushroom burger used to be good but now they don’t season it at all. Usual order is sampler with falafel, chicken, and burger. This time I was begging for service just to get my order in. Told the server the beef was off and was offered for the chef to make a fresh one. I hope I had a fresh one to start with? I passed. Terrible for a single person Terrible for a single female Terrible for someone that loves food Better places in Memphis who value their customers for sure

We had to fight the flies the whole time we was there. Food was not good and very basic. They seem use premade chicken strips on the chicken sandwiches. This place has fallen very low! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL

Loflin Yard is a popular spot in Memphis, offering American cuisine and cocktails in a laid-back atmosphere with outdoor seating. The venue features firepits and serves hot cocktails like hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps and the Mizzus Swiss with coffee, tequila, creme de cacao, and chocolate. Additionally, it offers a variety of seasonally inspired sweets from other local restaurants.
I’ve been wanting to try Loflin Yard for over a year after hearing so many rave reviews, and it did not disappoint! We stopped by with the family, and the atmosphere was perfect for a laid-back afternoon. The chicken wings were a hit with everyone, perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the grilled chicken sandwich was just as delicious. I personally loved the frozen Paloma—it was the perfect refreshing drink to enjoy while taking in the weekend and outdoor vibes (from inside in the AC). The service was friendly and quick, and we can’t wait to come back for another round. Highly recommend!

Holy cow, this place is amazing! Wonderful smoked meat. I have the sausage and the brisket. Also have the macaroni and cheese and true Mexican corn. What a great treat! Also have a huge outdoor area that is fun to hang out in and what room here is that it’s dog friendly. You should come check it out!

First time visitor but definitely won't be my last! Can you say AMAZING ATMOSPHERE!!! This place is just beautiful. Plenty of outdoor space. Corn hole games are also outside. If you decide to sit outside I would say be mindful of the mosquitoes! They were horrible after the sun started to set. I had the chicken tacos, they were delicious although they don't have taco sauce or Salsa to go with the Tacos. Definitely would give this location a 10 out 10 just based on the atmosphere.
Kasheena E — Google review
A chill place where dogs are welcome both inside and out, and the staff is patient even when you ask annoying questions (like whether there’s extra items off the menu—there isn’t). I ordered the brisket salad expecting something forgettable, but it showed up looking composed and tasted fancier than expected! The beer list is short, but they offered a frozen cocktail tasting, which was generous. I chose the least syrupy one, but even that slid into candy-sweet after a few sips. I just stopped by for a little bit while in town, but I would be a regular if I lived in the area!
Alex B — Google review
My american burger didn't have a lot on it! Like a "whataburger or burgerking" size meat inside, one small slice tomato, onion and no pickles or mayo, mustard or ketchup! They gave me two packs of ketchup for my extra charge french fries (only possible to come with potato chips) not of your choice either! My wife chicken wings were close to raw with sauce on them. We both had one alcoholic beverage, hers was good. Place was too expensive for this type food!

You need to make this your go-to hang out spot because there isn’t a better place in Memphis. Especially in the summer and fall Loflin is my go-to spot for an after work drink and their snack options are perfect (but good luck picking just one). If it’s a date or you’re going out with a big group it’s an amazing spot - make sure you challenge your friends to some cornhole

visiting from out of town looking for a local place. this had good reviews and looked nice/fun. got there and no waiter/waitress. im no millenial so when i go somewhere I expect tohave a menu handed to me (not look it up on my phone) and be waited on (not do all the work myself). so when i walk to bar to order for our party (which already has limited menu items to start with) the bartender tells me they have no more mac n cheese which was what my daughter and i really wanted. apparently no cook to order staff working or they didn't order enough ingredients to be able to cook food they list on their menu. not a great experience for visitors to leave Memphis with.

Cocina Mexicana Bar & Grill Millbranch Rd is an easygoing and spacious eatery that offers classic Mexican dishes along with a full bar serving margaritas. The restaurant is known for its authentic guacamole, vibrant ambiance, excellent food, stellar service, and fun atmosphere. Customers appreciate the generous portion sizes and overall value of the meals. The establishment also serves refreshing Rita's at great prices.
Staying next door at the LaQuinta & saw how busy they always were so wanted to give them a try. Also have watched them sweeping the parking lot in the mornings to clear it of trash. Bouncer greeted you at the door; checking guys for weapons & I had to open my purse for him to check inside. People were just hanging just outside the doorway so had to watch your surroundings. Inside was a bar in the back, and plenty of tables. There was a patio on the side of the building, but never saw it from our hotel winow due to it being on the opposite side of their building. Free warm chips & salsa. Large alcoholic drink menu and plenty of choices on authentic Mexican cuisine. We just opted for water with lemon. Open until 10 pm, which worked for us coming back to the area about 9 pm & only having to go next door afterwards. Enjoyed our selections and even had to get a takeout container for the leftovers. Menu did offer lunch specials. Bouncer unlocked the door to let us out. People were still hanging outside so keep aware. Area may not be the best, but the owners keep the property cleaned up, and the inside comfortable. You can also order takeout. The restaurant is also near the Memphis airport. If you are visiting the area, like Mexican food, and want to support local, come give them a try!

We are not from the area and were passing through. We saw on Google that this place was highly rated, so we decided to try them out. First of all, we must have been in a questionable area. We had to be searched before entering the restaurant to ensure we didn't have any weapons. No problem. Once we entered, there must have been two parties going on. One in the patio and one in a different room. Both playing loud music. Different kind of music, plus the music that was playing in the main dining area. This made it hard to have a conversation during dinner and even communicate with the server. Once we were seated, we were served chips and salsa immediately. The chips were pretty generic. The salsa was not good at all and had a ketchup consistency. Eventually, someone else took our drink and food order. Then, another server tried to take our drink and food order. Staff seemed a little lost. We received our drinks. One strawberry margarita and one Mexican candy mixed drink. They were not good at all. We didn't finish it. Then we received our food. Chicken burrito and carnitas. We really tried to convince ourselves that it was good, but in reality, there was no flavor at all. We didn't finish that either. Not sure how they received a high rating, but we would not recommend going here.

I was broken down at the Kenworth dealer about 3 tenths of a mile away. This is kind of the only option for an actual meal. I was told that this place can get a little rambunctious after a certain time. I stopped in at about 5pm. I greeted at the door and escorted to my seat. There was maybe 10 people total in the restaurant. They took my drink order and had it back in a few minutes. Then took my food order. Also was brought chips and some of the best salsa I’ve ever had. I ordered a Deluxe Burrito and it came with beans and rice. All I can say is good lord, it was amazing!! I will definitely be back.

Cocina Mexicana Bar & Grill on Millbranch Rd is definitely a whole vibe. I had the Fiesta Nachos with shrimp, steak, and chicken, and they were fire! Full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and stacked just right. I also had one of their margaritas, and let me just say—they use real liquor, no watered-down drinks here! It was strong, smooth, and hit just right. What I really liked is the way the place is set up—one side is chill for folks who just wanna sit down, eat, and vibe. The other side had turn-up music, good energy, and a fun atmosphere. Whether you’re going for a relaxing dinner or to catch a whole vibe with friends, this spot got you covered.

Pleasant Surprise at La Cocina Mexicana We were staying at a nearby hotel and looking for a dinner spot, so we decided to try La Cocina Mexicana and were pleasantly surprised. The place is quite spacious, and the service was good and fast. As soon as you sit down, they greet you with a complimentary appetizer of fresh nachos and salsa—a touch we absolutely loved, and it was delicious! I ordered the daily special, a grilled platter with meat, chicken, and shrimp over rice, and it was very tasty. The food arrived in about 10 minutes and at a good temperature. Something unexpected was that the restaurant also has a bar area with a good atmosphere and music. It's an interesting option if you're looking to hang out for a bit and have some cocktails beyond just dinner. In our case, we only went to eat, but the option is there. While the area is more industrial and not really for strolling around, if you find yourself there (perhaps staying at a nearby hotel), La Cocina Mexicana is a very good option for a tasty meal and, if you feel like it, to enjoy a cocktail and a good atmosphere.

The food was very good. I ordered the chicken fajita salad. The guacamole was very chunky and delicious. The servers were kind and patient. We came around 8:30pm. The security guard was at the front door to clear out any weapons. The dance room was on the right side. The dining room in the left side, we could hear the loud music.

Great Cali Burrito with seasoned chicken, steak and shrimp each individually tasty with sections spicy enough to cause a bead of sweat of two and one of the finest Amaretto Sours to hit a table in forever. Food was served hot and fresh in a lobby bustling with lively employees. Pretty decent table service but not the best ambiance ever and the queso was a little thinner than usually served.

The food and service were phenomenal and we will be back! My son and I made a last minute decision to try Swanky’s for the first time in between band and basketball practice. The owner/manager and staff very helpful and kind, especially Jaun. They recommended the crawfish tacos and quesadillas, so we tried it, and we are so glad that we did. One word, DELICIOUS!

This place is similar to Chipotle but quality is prob better. (I'm not a fan of Chipotle). I got the veggie bowl. The refried beans have no lard. They also have black beans though. The sautéed veggies are great (zucchini, peppers, etc). I liked the green sauce (medium) and the spicy red sauce. The queso is Banging! Great tasting Guac. Food looked clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall highly recommend specially for vegetarians. You can do burrito, bowls, tacos, nachos. So many options.

Enjoyed my sister's birthday dinner; lots of laughter, drinks and food. My order included the Eggrolls (which were delicious); Street Tacos (which were not delicious: tortillas fell apart upon first touch, meat was rubbery, the rice was hard); and Pineapple Tequila Sunrise (very delicious). The Raspberry Margarita (photo below) was also a pleasant delight.

They will serve you unedible food and refuse to refund the food item even tho not a single part was edible. We ordered horchata and served us a cup with rice crumbs and no type of liquid. There was literally only crumbs and ice Noo type of liquid to suck from the straw. They also messed up our order and left one of our guests without food until we reminded them about the guests food not being brought out

My friends and i decided to dine here Friday night. We literally had to go find a server. Once we were able to locate one we placed drink and food orders. The orders arrived in a timely manners and the appear was good. But unfortunately after taking a couple bites of my food. I noticed a roach in my food. The manager was notified and he verified that it was a roach. He didn’t apologize but just offered to remove the entree from ticket. He was nonchalant about the issue and never returned to our table. My friend had a similar entree and was unable to eat her food. Date of service was 9/20/24. Unfortunately I was unable to add video. But the last photo is a screenshot of the video with date and time.

I met my nephews there for lunch at 12 noon. He had the Steak Nachos, which looked delicious! Instead of the regular cheese, he opted for white queso cheese. I asked him how they were, He said that they were "real good"! I had the Chicken Quesidilla with just cheese and spinach. In my opinion, I needed more chicken than spinach . The spinach lacked the flavor that reminds you that you are eating spinach. If you know what I mean, BUT my meal was still very good. I am not big on drinking, but I did have a Margarita, and it was packed with flavor. The servers are amazing, friendly, and willing to meet your every need. We had a great time talking about the good times. We didn't leave until almost 5 pm. If you haven't tried, HAPPY MEXICAN , you should definitely go at least once. We stopped in for lunch and it was our first time here. We were seated right away and our server came to our table promptly. Chips and salsa were also brought to the table. When our food arrived, it was hot and had a great presentation. My steak chimichonga was delicious. It came with rice and beans which were also tasty! Sometimes in Mexican restaurants the rice and beans are fairly tasteless but these were good. My husband ordered the fajita steak enchiladas and he really enjoyed them. They had a red sauce on one end, and green on the other. He said it was nice to have two completely different tastes! The inside of the restaurant is cute, but nothing special. Overall we enjoyed our food and would go back again if we are in the area! Give them a try!

The actual restaurant may not look the nicest but it’s clean. they have the best breakfast burrito in town. Their other items, tacos, tortas, rolled tacos, carne asada fries, etc are all solid. Fresh salsa bar is 10/10

I really enjoy their street tacos but they don’t even offer carnitas for them, just chicken and beef. Definitely not authentic southern cali style.

Only to go orders and Grab & Go. Still the same great food. Much better for your taco craving than Taco Bell and a much high level of service than what you get at the large chain places. Got shrimp tacos today, grilled.

Absolutely wonderful! A very unassuming place. The grilled fish and shrimp tacos were absolutely amazing. Not over complicated, expensive, or flashy. VERY delicious! The service was kind, helpful, and quick. I would recommend to anyone. Went back for seconds!

Always a great taco fix! We had lunch here. It was not busy and the wait was not long at all. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed! Thank you Elena’s!

Sadness is my favorite taco changing. Sigh. We stop in to Elena’s every time we come through Memphis but this time it had changed. We ordered grilled shrimp tacos on flour tortillas. It’s now all cabbage and the “special sauce” is mayo. Yuck. The 3 shrimp in each taco were delicious eaten alone and dipped in the mild salsa. The tacos themselves were very disappointing though. And we had to try to eat them hunched over in the car. The dining room is closed. To top it all off, even though she read our order back to us correctly, we got one fewer taco then we asked for. I suspect Elena’s has new owners. Elena’s is not shining anymore.

Quality is bad now. Used to be great, I ate there for almost a decade. Since like April or May 2025, they serve you fat instead of meat. We order the same thing for years - pork tacos. One order should be meat only, the other is meat with fresh onion and cilantro. Now, it’s just rubbery lard and no meat. Here are the pictures from tonight’s dinner (July 2025). See the rubber for yourself - that’s all fat. Disgusting rubber - awful texture. Look at the fat to meat ratio.

Had the beef tongue tacos. Granted that weren’t as good as Mi Mexico on Shelby but they’re still good. But the beef soup and chicken chimichanga…yesssss! I learned my lesson and took the soup home. Chimichanga was for my wife.

I have frequented this Summer Avenue location many times over the past two decades, and it is easily one of the most consistent, authentic and affordable restaurants in the city. The photos I've included feature the Burrito lunch special. Along with being filling and delicious, the entire experience was under $15, even with a 50% tip. It would be hard to top this quality, quantity and price point in a full-service restaurant. Highly recommended.

Would give it 4- 5 stars, except the value and service was definitely not there. Payed $58 for 2 bean/veggie burritos and 1 bees. 1 agua fresco and a sprite.

Out shopping and on the way home, Googled "Mexican" food on Summer Ave. Got several places, but we never heard of La Guadalapana, so we thought we'd give it a shot. My wife had the Burrito Dinner al pastor, and I had the Burrito Suiza Pollo. Beans are very thin and I barely could eat them. Rice was OK, though honestly, I'm not a big rice guy. My wife loved her Burrito. Mine was pretty good. They were pretty large so we each took half a burrito home. Service left something to be desired, virtually ignored, even at 2 30 and the place only 1/4 full. Every time someone entered the front door, the alarm sounded"front door open". I'm sure they do a good business. It's just not on my list of places to revisit.

Greeted with a smile & were immediately seated. Cold beverages arrived before we were ready to order. The best Guacamole Mexicania was the perfect selection for us to review our dinner options. Wifey had grilled options and I stayed with traditional enchiladas & tamales. We were both satisfied and are looking forward to our next visit.

I had the mixed meat fajitas over rice and it was absolutely phenomenal came with bell peppers and onions and cheese and all deliciousness. I will be back again. The margarita was pretty good too and the prices were so good!

The food was really good, hot & fresh. The margaritas were really good!!!! My fav is the WineArita!!! Also, it gets pretty crowded, but they're turning those tables quickly. Your birthday is a great time to go for!!

I came here for a pre birthday celebration and it was hilarious. The food was greasy and the drink was watered down. Then the manager gone come to the table trying to to tell me that I wasn’t seeing what I saw talking about you ate it and I told him as I was eating all I seen was grease in my dog gone food and he wanted to argue with me like I can’t see no cheese sauce and the drink wasn’t frozen it didn’t have that much slush in it so liquidity it didn’t make sense to me. Very bad experience this time poise the rice wasn’t the same color as I’ve been ordering. I knew something wasn’t right when I saw the food and drink come to the table, but they want to get you drunk so you wouldn’t notice… This is the one Downtown Memphis😡😡😡

Definitely NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!! The food was good. The server got our order wrong and had an attitude. Then one of the TVs had a sex scene on it and my daughter was looking at it. I told the server about it and she did nothing!! Didn’t even change the channel. The sad part was that a younger girl was sitting at the bar right in front of the TV.

The food was good, but no ground beef or shredded chicken. I don't know of that's a Tennessee thing or what. Atmosphere like any Mexican restaurant. A little loud.

Agavos Cocina and Tequila is a laid-back Mexican restaurant that offers delicious food, generous portions, and reasonably priced meals. The ambiance is enhanced by the lively music playing in the background. Guests particularly appreciate the excellent service provided by staff members like Winky, who adds a refreshing touch to the dining experience. Additionally, patrons rave about the perfectly crafted Margaritas served at this establishment.
This place turns into something else after a certain time. The food was mediocre the drinks were good. 1st time here and didn't know what to expect. I believe if it turns into an adult atmosphere no kids should be allowed in after a certain time. Seeing young kids there where things turned into a "club" in a sense was completely inappropriate and the owners shouldn't allowed. I gave it 2 stars because the drink were the best part of the menu.

It took 40+ minutes for my 9 tacos to arrive without any of the normal dressings on them. I asked the waitress to call the manager Fernando over. I asked him if he thought this presentation was acceptable. He immediately tried to blame the waitress for this mistake after she told him I wanted everything on my tacos. I told him, "No, it is the cook's fault." The food took almost an hour to come on and it was dry. I had to build my own dry tacos. Based on the conversations I had with the manager, I think he made need more management training. The things he said and did in front of customers was not becoming of a manager. I initially thought this place had recently opened but was informed that it had been open 2.5 years. They should have worked the kinks out by now. I will not return for more bad food and long wait.
Pamela L — Google review
This place is suppose to be a restaurant but charges $5 to enter. Once we got seated, there were many underaged drinkers being served alcohol which is absolutely disgusting!!!! Allowing kids to drink in your establishment is against the law! I asked a few of the kids how old they were and some said 18! I was appalled and will never be back!
Qhuitnei D — Google review
Bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend this place. There’s a language barrier that creates a lot of miscommunication. For the type of cuisine, the menu was limited and unimpressive. The flight was sweet and lacked flavor. My rice and beans were over cooked. The made to order guacamole was swampy. The Hennessy margarita was laughable at $20 for one shot. The utensils and drinkware were very old worn. The prices are entirely too high for the offering. I don’t think I’ll be back here.
CP U — Google review
The food stayed hot. The stars are for the chef and the bartender. I had shrimp tacos, and my partner had a chicken burrito.(her rice was cold) The service wasn't good, and the restaurant had flies everywhere. Also I had to clean the table with my Clorox wipes because it was filthy. The seats had chips all through the crevices. I just feel like if you're gonna be open during a pandemic, cleanliness should be a TOP priority. Also, I am a tourist so I knew nothing abt the receipt being needed to get out. I tried to explain to the security guard that I had put my receipt on the plate that was picked up, and that I was from out of state and honestly didn't know. He was so nasty and rude. My waitress literally stopped in the middle of her taking an order to talk to him. I really appreciated that from her. Idk if I'll visit here again.
Danni — Google review
Have you heard of some enchiladas without sauce? We placed an order for enchiladas and only received tortillas with cheese. A cheese with a horrible flavor. I called again to make the claim and the girl's response was "come pick up the sauce if you want it" knowing that when I placed my order I asked for extra sauce If you don't know how to make Mexican food, you shouldn't have a Mexican restaurant.
Manuel C — Google review
While the service was great, the"award winning" margarita was very nasty. I had to force myself to drink it as they wouldn't refund it which was understandable. The wings were not good either. Might come back to try the actual Mexican food but it's not looking good.

Global Café, located in Crosstown Concourse, offers a diverse range of international cuisine from various regions such as Sudan and North Africa. The Sudanese section of the café features dishes like African peanut soup, dama with rous, and sambusa, while the North African part serves basbousa for dessert. The café's mission is to introduce the community to the culinary and cultural heritage of refugee and immigrant communities in Memphis.
A friend recommended Global Cafe for lunch, and I’m so glad she did! It’s such a lovely spot with a relaxed atmosphere and great service. When you walk in, you place your order at the counter, then find a seat—either inside or outside—and they’ll bring your food to you. I ordered the chicken tacos paired with a fresh margarita to top if off. The food was flavorful and the margarita hit the spot. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu - I'm really curious to try the quesadillas! Overall, Global Cafe offers great food, a great chill vibe, and a solid dining experience. Absolutely worth a visit.

Delicious food and excellent service. It's very busy, so there's a line to order. I tried to order from the table using a QR code, but it was difficult. Highly recommended!
Eliza V — Google review
I’ve been coming to Global Cafe since they opened and it’s always been a favorite. The food usually never disappoints, and I love the variety of global cuisines. Recently, the food has been inconsistent and disappointing unfortunately. I took my mom out for dinner and she chose the Thupka and I ordered the Plantain Soup. The Thupka was way too spicy for her (she was frustrated because nowhere on the menu does it indicate that it’s spicy), and the meat was missing, so I gave her my Plantain Soup and boxed the Thupka to bring home to my partner and decided to order another Plantain Soup for myself. The first bowl of soup was overflowing with chicken and yucca root but didn’t have a single piece of plantain in it…the second bowl of soup had chicken, and not a single piece of yucca root - there were two pieces of plantain in the soup. Just a bit frustrating for the soups to be so inconsistent, in the span of 10 minutes. I’ve noticed in the past that dishes usually always come out a bit different than the time before, but to not have plantain in a soup when it’s the main event feels kind of silly. The service was also a bit disappointing compared to how it usually is - we had to ask for a box multiple times and at one point one of the staff took my mojito before I was finished drinking it. I will keep going to Global and supporting of course! Just some food for thought.

A group of friends and I travelled to Memphis for a little day trip, and one of them requested that we go to Global Cafe, their favorite restaurant in Memphis. They are gluten free, and so we went knowing that there would at least be food available for them. I ordered the Fajita de Pollo Wrap, my friend got the Asado Bowl, and my other two friends got the Chicken Shawarma and Street Tacos. We decided to eat outside as it was a good day out, but the inside is a vibe too. Definitely a cafeteria type vibe, which is great for meeting new people and of course experiencing different cultures together(hence the name). I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this cafe. Our food came, and all of my friends' food looked amazing. Mine looked a little lack luster, but I tried not to judge a book by its cover. I took one bite of my wrap and really wasn't that impressed. My chicken was dry, and the chips and salsa that came with it were pretty bland, only spicy. I did enjoy the street tacos, but the chicken in the Shawarma also tasted pretty dry. We needed to add a lot of sauce to make it better. My friend's asado bowl looked pretty good and of course they ate all of it, so I'm not sure on the taste of that, but it might be the only good thing that came out of our four orders, in my opinion. Our service was helpful, and so I can't necessarily blame them for the food. Overall, it wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but the food, to me, isn't all that great.

Wonderful food and great service! We went for the deals on taco Tuesday! We had pollo guisado and carnitas tacos and you cannot leave without having the cheese and potato empanadas! The margaritas were delicious, strong and flavorful. Even with a line, food came out in a timely manner and the staff is very friendly.

Great, multi-ethnic restaurant located in Crosstown Concourse. They offer foods from several different countries within this venue. Although I cannot speak on the authenticity of the dishes, the food and flavor of what I had was absolutely excellent. I ordered the hummus and pita as an appetizer. I will say I am not used to having cumin added to my hummus but it was a nice twist on a good dish and I was pleasantly surprised. As may main dish I ordered the kuku paka, which is a Kenyan curry with chicken in it. It was a very good dish and the portion size was very big. There were several other dishes on the menu that I want to try so I will definitely visit again to eat at this wonderful establishment.

I finally tried Hopdoddy for Mother’s Day weekend. My mom highly recommends this restaurant to me, so my brothers and I took her to dinner at Hopdoddy. You can tell this is a popular place because there were many people inside and outside the restaurant. It was very busy inside, but we were able to get a seat. We ordered our food at the counter and waited for the main entrees. While we waited for the main entree, we all shared a big bowl of Parmesan Truffle Fries. The fries were a good way to start our meal. We just kept eating them, and had to force ourselves to stop eating them so we don’t get too full before our main entrees come. When I saw my entrée in front of me, I was so excited. My main entree was the Mother Nature Burger. It was so beautiful to look at, and delicious to eat. The Mother Nature Burger had crispy onions, caramelized onions, cheese frico, fried egg, and Au Poivre Aioli. The combination of the crispy onions and caramelized onions was an excellent choice. Then you add that to the creamy Au Poivre Aioli sauce the softness of the fried egg it was a dream.

We were just here 2 weeks ago and I gave them a excellent review! The atmosphere is loud and echoes, there were loud people at the bar being obnoxious, but that is not the reason for the awful review. The awful review is for my boyfriends under done burger. He had a couple bites out of it and soon realized the rest was definitely under cooked. Luckily he ate his Green Chili queso fries first because he definitely lost his appetite after seeing that burger. This is so under done, enough to make someone sick. He wasn't gonna bother telling them, because I know he felt bad, but he shouldn't have to feel bad for asking for a refund for food he paid for that he literally can't eat safely. I'm sad because we had such high hopes for this place. That experience was enough to turn us away permanently. The shareable fries are not worth the drive. Honestly I don't like feeling like a Karen or leaving bad reviews, but when it is justified and warrantied, I will. I almost wish we got a complete and total refund.

It's a fun place for burgers! The staff are friendly and the food come out quick! It's not table service, you'll get in the cue, order and pay for your food and tell them the table number you're at and they come and bring the food to you. I love the choices of burgers but make sure you can take the heat when you order the hot spicy burgers because the peppers are no joke 😋. It was busy when our large group came but luckily we called ahead to see if they had a table available. They don't take reservations but the staff were great to hold one for us when we called ahead for a table for 8!

She handled me my drink, but when it was time for my box. She gave it to me with the lid open. I was in my car I certainly didn’t want m meal to spill out so I tried to close it. They never get any orders right, especially with DoorDash. I tried to reorder my food 3 times and each time there was something wrong with it. First time was a completely different order. They also didn’t give me sauce with either order when I specifically asked for it. It’s upsetting to say the least. They don’t care about the service they provide if you’re not in their face watching them.

I have constantly tried to make taco bell work for me but I am so tired of the horrible experiences I endure every time we go up there. The last time, my food was completely over cooked and hard. This time my order was missing items and I tried to call the facility to inform them of their mistakes and to possibly go back up there and pick up the rest of my order. But I was unfortunately met with attitude. The lady that picked up the phone demanded that i was lieing. When I told her about my missing items she rudely asked, do you not see a purple box in your bag?. The answer is no ma'am, that's why I'm calling. she then yelled at me asking if I'm sure that's all I'm missing. I told her I didn't appreciate the way she was talking to me. So she decided to hang up on me. I never got a refund or my missing items. This is unacceptable for any establishment.

If you’re ever in Memphis and craving amazing Mexican food and even better service, you have to check out Frida’s Mexican Restaurant on Madison Avenue. The atmosphere is vibrant, the food is flavorful, but what really made my night was Giselle, the bartender. Giselle was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly, attentive, and knew exactly how to make the perfect drink. I had a margarita that was hands-down one of the best I’ve had in the city. She kept the energy upbeat, made everyone at the bar feel welcome, and somehow balanced speed and quality like a pro. Whether you’re stopping by for drinks, dinner, or just a good vibe, Giselle at Frida’s is someone who’ll make your visit unforgettable. I’ll definitely be back!

I warm chips and salsa comes right away. Kids eat for about 5 bucks. All I get usually at most Mexican restaurants is the bean dip. No complaints... they have specials on drinks and other food items, certain days and times. A lunch menu as well.

Tacos Nganas is a popular food truck in Memphis, known for its outstanding and flavorful menu items. Voted as the best tacos in the area, this small operation offers a variety of options such as spicy al pastor street tacos, mouthwatering camarones burritos, and pollo quesadillas. Customers rave about the perfectly cooked shrimp and comforting consomme served on the side. The fast and professional service adds to the overall experience at Tacos Nganas.
This is the first time I have tried the summer location. I got 3 street tacos with everything, beef, chicken, and shimp. The service was very friendly, and prepared my order very quickly. The location was very neat and clean, a real stand-out spot in the neighborhoods. This is a definite recommend, good job taco Nganas, for the third location I've visited the food and service has been fantastic.

Outside taco truck with outside seating arrangements. The service was fast. It was weekend and quite packed. The consommé ( Mexican beef stew) was flavourful and very comforting. The tacos were rather very greasy and heavy with a loads of oil and cheese. The meat was good but I personally don’t prefer tacos like this. I have been to Mexico City and just love the simple street side tacos as we get there.
Debisree R — Google review
Tacos were bomb and lots of flavors of Jarritos. Tacos were too experience and burrito was small for $12. Burrito was also sloppily made and I couldn’t hold it without it falling apart. Loved the cornhole.
Theewurl P — Google review
Best tacos I have ever had! The sauce that came with the tacos was too hot for me but you can tell all this stuff is made from scratch. The tortillas were so good. I got the chicken taco and the shrimp taco. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. I want to go back to get more already!!! I think I will do lunch here tomorrow while still in town.
Mandy M — Google review
We stopped here on the way home from out of town close to closing. We’ve ate lots of tacos this week and these are by far some of the best. We got the asada taconganas. Lots of meat. So good! And they have a cute little set up for eating outside.
Mallori B — Google review
I knew this food was going to be good because it only one way in and one way out and somebody was coming in on the exit side. As you can see if they keep everything the same as portion side, favor of food, different items available and young ladies greeting as you walk up; they will be in business for a long time. They have plenty parking space and tables for you to sit down and eat. Everything was good and definite going back again.
Ally C — Google review
On my last visit, the food taste declined a bit. The chicharron was chewy, and the beef didn't seem marinated enough. Maybe they lost the chef.
American C — Google review
I was so excited when I saw they actually set up shop full-time on summer Avenue. I’ve seen them in a write up in a few local blogs but every time I drove by there was just an excessive line. Well not anymore they had their lot set up perfectly and I’ve never waited for longer than 10 minutes for the best Mexican food I’ve put in my mouth since I left the West Coast! It is definitely a go to for me and a treat when I want Mexican.

El Mezcal is a popular Mexican restaurant with seven locations in Memphis, including one in midtown. Known for its unique and enjoyable dining experience, the restaurant offers budget-friendly options like Taco Tuesday, where tacos are only a dollar each with the purchase of a drink. Customers praise the delicious food, such as the flavorful guiso of carnitas and the tempting Arroz Con Pollo with peppers and onions.
No complaints!! Sooo good!! The guiso of carnitas was so tender full of flavor the spice was just the right amount of kick to still enjoy every bite, and portion wise just enough to feel satisfied. Must try this restaurant if you're in town.
Jessica G — Google review
I got the wings and a beer. The Mexican beer was nice and cold. The salsa and chips were good. However, the wings were not good at all. I tried to eat one and it was too fatty and hard. I took the rest home and thought if I doctor on them with a little sauce and seasons that would make them better. But there was no hope for them. I called back to let the manager know but I guess they were closed. I would love to try them again if they would give me a free order of wings

I heard a lot about this place and I've passed it a lot and decided to give it a try! Very good Mexican food and even better drinks. The people were so nice and friendly. This would be a great place for cinco de mayo. The steak Mexicano was very good too! Check them out
Breanna T — Google review
El Mezcal is my favorite place for fast and yummy Mexican food. They are also my go to if I need to let loose on a pitcher of Margaritas. They have a good vegetarian selection and very nice decor. Most restaurants in my neighborhood close at 8:00 so I really appreciate them being open until 9:00. There's nothing like Mexican food and margaritas after a long hard day. I'm thankful for Mezcal being there for me!
Hannah N — Google review
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Memphis with its consistently incredible food regardless if you get it in person with the sweet sweet people or uber eats! If there were more than five stars I’d give it.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Love the dood, the Margarita's and especially love the service. The fact that they know you after a few visits makes you feel like family. Great specials on food and drinks.

Better than before! I haven't visited them in years, so no surprise that everything was refreshingly pleasant! The food was GOOD, CHEAP, and plentiful! I would recommend for any night of thw week!

Went 2 days in a row (so I'm sure you are guessing that I enjoyed my meal the first day)..day one I was craving Mexican nachos where they actually use cheese sauce and not shredded cheese . While searching I came across a photo of thr nachos at this place. So okay. I'm trying them. Went at lunch. Warning, parking is.... a little difficult (or maybe not if there is parking behind the business. But since this was my very first visit, I don't know)..I was seated right away by friendly staff and my order didn't take long to come out.. GREAT.. I ordered beef nachos and a side of Pico de Gallo. Nachos were delicious and hit all the right spots. I left stuffed and satisfied. Day 2 my co worker was craving cheese dip. We go to another spot but there was a 20 minute wait so I suggest we head back to El Mezzcal. I decided to try the taco salad. Filling and very good (their shell was awesome). My coworker ordered the supreme nachos (I think it was called) only chicken.. She reported that it was very good.. came with veggies,, avocado slices and the works. Day 2 was great. Service and all mirrored day 1. I, for sure, will be back. AGAIN Update 5/16/23. I have been back to this spot over 20 times since the first review. Can I just say that the food has been consistently great and the service always pretty good. Obviously this has become one of my favorite Mexican spots. Check out what my tastebuds experience. You won't be disappointed

If you're looking for a vibrant and laid-back dining experience, look no further than Favorite Place Mexican Restaurant. This charming spot is adorned with festive decorations that set the perfect mood for enjoying their signature margaritas and classic dishes like fajitas and tacos. One standout drink is the grilled margarita, crafted tableside with caramelized oranges, fresh limes, Grand Gala, sour mix, and whiskey-barrel-aged tequila—adding a unique twist to your sip.
They’ve done it again!!! Raised the bar for all Mexican food establishments around and beyond. If you think that is too strong of a statement, you haven’t had the birria grilled cheese. This was the single most fantastic grilled cheese ever!!!

The food was delicious! We both had the Southwestern Salad. Very good. The chips were better than any we have had locally. We live in Germantown, TN which is right next door.

I ordered the fajita potato! OMG! It is the most amazing dish I have had in a long time! Everything was seasoned well. It is big enough for two people! Beef, chicken, and shrimp 🍤 on a baked to perfection potato. With cheese, bell peppers, and onions😋 🏆🏆🏆

Food was delicious and hot. Didn’t wait long at all after we ordered. Strawberry margarita was on point!

Only in a place with a name like this would there be a dish called “I don’t know what I want”. Seriously, it’s a sampler platter. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos and was very pleased. Got to dress them myself just right. Fairly large shrimp. Apparently they have a lot of repeat customers. I’ll be back.
John K — Google review
We go here at least 3 times a month. Such a nice atmosphere. Jodie makes us feel welcomed and we don’t even need a menu. Priced accordingly and has a great patio.

Very good food and drinks at a very budget friendly price. Our waitress was awesome. Will go back 100%

Once again food that was hot and quick. Service was good. And prices are right. This Saturday wasn’t busy and no hustle and bustle. Quiet, early evening meal stop. They even had a Saturday’s lunch special. Always a plus to get a special on food or drinks, which on the weekends most restaurants don’t offer. So ... major B-O-N-U-S. Dining on a budget. Plus, feeding your family reasonably. Cheese dip, burritos and taco salad. And the warm chips sprinkled with that special seasoning blend. Yum! We will return and maybe it will be warm enough to enjoy the outside patio during Happy Hour!

Maciel's Tortas & Tacos in Memphis is a must-visit for an authentic Mexican dining experience. Despite its unassuming appearance, it's known for serving some of the best tacos in town, earning praise from numerous delighted customers. The owner, Manuel Martinez, attributes this to their specialty in antojitos, or street food snacks and appetizers. Their street tacos and chicken soup are highly recommended.
We love this place!! The best tacos, especially the Birria Tacos, add cheese (a must) & don’t forget the side of consume for dipping - it will blow your mind!! And the service is exactly what a retired hospitality gal craves - I always feel at home the moment we walk in the door. 💙👍

I tried the fajita chicken tacos. They were great. Good price. The guacamole was different. It’s more like pico with chopped avacado in it but it was very good. We actually did another order to go after we ate. Will definitely be coming back.
Chris G — Google review
I got the steak nachos and let’s just say I couldn’t force myself to keep eating. I expected there to be cheese drizzled on top, but instead it came with hardened clumps of “cheese”. I had to buy a side of cheese and the waitress was rude about this. It seemed like they just threw anything they had together— it was a mess. And I thought the carrots were weird. Wasn’t even expecting authentic Mexican but could not imagine them messing up nachos.
Katherine L — Google review
Everything was perfect. It's Taco Tuesday, so there is a Taco Special. The staff was friendly and the service was exceptional. Biria Tacos were yummy. We ate outside and that was most enjoyable in this nice Spring weather! We'll be back!
Jay B — Google review
Everything I've gotten here has hit the spot, for years. Literally everything. You can't go wrong ordering from this place. Eat in, and get free chips and salsa. Great patio. I gravitate toward shrimp dishes, and their torta, salad, burrito, and tacos are spot on. I also love their fried avocado tacos and chicken chipotle soup (just tried that because I had a cold, and I'm pretty sure it healed me within hours). Don't walk, run.
Jerica B — Google review
Delicious food and very reasonably priced. Visiting from Southern California and Dallas, Texas we are use to great Mexican food. This rivals any we've had. Will definitely go back. Quick and very good service. Sorry about the photos taken after the first couple of bites. Couldn't wait to taste the TACOS!!! Addenda to review...went back two months later and just as impressed

First time coming here. Not too sure how I feel about the inside but the patio looks great. Can't wait until the summer to chill out there. Greeted when we came in. Ordered and found a place to sit. Food was brought out shortly after. Everything was hot. The salsa was very fresh. The chips were kinda hard but had great taste. Everything was good. I'll definitely be back.

Place was clean and full of color. I enjoyed the atmosphere downtown so I decided to try the Cooper Young area. Cashier was really nice she took my order and listened making sure you got everything right. This isn't a big place and the parking lot isn't big so if you're coming be aware of these things. Their food is good light fresh and delicious, I have only eaten the tacos but I am eager to try everything on the menu. Even the vegetable fajitas are good.

El Mero Taco is a popular spot in Memphis, known for its fresh and delicious tacos. Whether you visit their brick-and-mortar location or catch their food truck around town, you'll be treated to an array of taco options, from smoked habanero shrimp to veggies with green mole. The Cordova location offers lunch specials and features a mezcaleria, focusing on mezcal spirits. Situated near Shelby Farms Dog Park, it's a welcoming place for dog lovers.
Super cute little place. The food was excellent. My favorite was the brisket taco. The sweet tea was also just right. Our orders were prepared quickly and served hot and fresh. The owners were pleasant and welcoming as well. Our server was very attentive, and we left feeling full and valued as customers. We will be back again! I recommend giving them a try.

We had a private event here for my wife's birthday. It was an epic, black tie, masquerade party. They handled all of the decorations, catering, and drinks. Jacob even got us in touch with a violinist who performed at the party. They put our mind at ease and all we needed to do was show up! I loved the place as a restaurant already, but they make an amazing venue as well! Even our pregnant guests were able to enjoy the non alcoholic mocktail options. I would recommend! 10/10!
Jared D — Google review
Brisket is amazing. Love their chorizo breakfast choices. Sheltered seating outside for groups and quiet interior with light music playing. Excellent cocktails too.
Steph C — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed their December wine dinner (they have a curated dinner/event every month). The scallops were amazing, and that sirloin with the hibiscus rub was out of this world.
Kerri P — Google review
We love El Mero Taco! They have so many incredible Vegetarian options! The Corn Ribs are insanely good and so creative. I crave them constantly and find I have to visit at least once a week to get a Corn Rib craving fix. The Cauliflower Tacos and Zucchini Tacos are our favorite Veggie Tacos in the city. They've also been kind enough to go off menu and make us an amazing Black Bean and Potato Taco. Their Quesadillas are incredibly delicious, super filling, and can truly be a meal on it's own. The Smoked Poblano Cheesey Grits are another must have item and I love they offer them all day now. On Saturdays, they have a fantastic Brunch. Their Cocktails always impress us, but I recently switched to Mocktails and discovered their Mockarita... Sooo good! It was nice to have a fancy drink and be a part of the party without the alcohol. I really love their ability to accommodate different dietary restrictions and lifestyles. They make everything in house from their own recipes, so they know what is in their food. As a person with food allergies, it is such a relief to eat with confidence because they always know the ingredients and steer me down the best path when ordering. My only request for them is to bring back the Fried Whole Pod Okra from a few years ago. I still crave it and no one else has anything like it.

Coming from San Diego,CA. We were looking for a good Mexican spot. First, the appetizers are amazing. You must try the guacamole and pork rinds and the corn riblets. Secondly, the main entree's were lacking. Had the loaded fries with brisket and a couple their tacos. Both need something more to take them average to good. I would come back 7/10

I love their Brisket. Whether it's the taco or the quesadilla. I would have given a 5 star but I have tried the last 3 times that I've gone to get the pie. They never have it 😪. But the bread pudding is good.

Cameo is a popular spot known for its fancy drinks and lively atmosphere. The bar offers an extensive beverage menu with a variety of cocktails, including signature and classic options, frozen drinks, shooters, and more. They also provide low- and zero-proof cocktails for those looking for a more relaxed evening. Additionally, Cameo hosts themed pop-up events such as the Nightmare on Union Avenue Halloween Pop-Up with creatively decorated spaces and specialty drink offerings.
This bar is super cool! We were there on a Thursday evening and they had a great DJ spinning. The cocktails are delicious and they have this interesting drink called Rage Quit, that changes every week.

Where do I start!? I first came to Cameo for date night and I was impressed with the rather vibey northern bar feel. We had a burger and two old fashioned drinks, which we both enjoyed. The service was quick and the service was great! I came back after the Cooper Young Fest for happy hour with my girls and was so pleased to see that they have happy hour from 4-7 EVERYDAY! The bartenders are excellent, and took great care of us. We stayed for the whole happy hour. Everything is good. We also got fries, which I highly recommend.
Ayanna P — Google review
Elevated rustic lodge interior design with dark walls and taxidermy decors. Besides the classic concoction, the speakeasy like bar also serve up special house mix every season and light bites. Monday is Happy Hour All Day ~ ~ * the Old Fashion tho was not smooth enough and a little hard on my taste.
Jean N — Google review
Cameo is one of those places that is truly something for anyone. A late night spot, a date spot, a part-time nightclub, a place for reunion and a place for a quiet solo time. An attentive but unobtrusive staff make that very possible. Try it out and if the vibe is too loud or too quiet, try it out again and I'm certain you'll find exactly what you're looking for. All are a welcome so make a cameo at Cameo (couldn't resist). You'll be glad you did.
Victor S — Google review
Cameo Cocktail Bar is one of those rare places that truly gets everything right. Tucked away in the heart of Memphis, it offers an elevated yet welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel like you’re in on a well-kept secret. Let’s talk cocktails: absolutely top-tier. Every drink is beautifully balanced, thoughtfully crafted, and undeniably delicious. Whether you’re into bold and smoky or light and refreshing, the menu has something for every palate — and the bartenders are masters at creating custom concoctions based on your preferences. You can tell they’re passionate about what they do, and it shows in every pour. Just as impressive as the drinks is the service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. They strike the perfect balance between professional and personable — making sure you’re comfortable, informed, and taken care of without being overbearing. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to stay for “just one more” and come back again soon.
Brooke H — Google review
Lady at the bar with tattoos is terrible. Drinks were watered down w/ so much sugar on the rim, I needed a makeup wipe. Really nice place but I think she was on her period or mad at her “bd.” I will have to call going forward and ask who is on the schedule before returning because she made the experience weird.
DANNY C — Google review
I’ve been going to Cameo for years now and it remains one of the best bars in Memphis. Quality cocktails, service, and environment. Karaoke, drag, dj sets, you name it they’ve got it. The cocktails deliver on taste and appearance every time and if you want an N.A. option, they’ve got quality choices there as well. Always a great time with friends or just a solo trip. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for a Memphis staple.
Justin C — Google review
Very nice and interesting bar. Seems more upscale. It's very quiet. No TVs. All orders are made at the bar so there is not any table service. Bartender was nice but didn't have much interaction with him other than ordering drinks. Ordering food from the card was kinda confusing. Overall this is a nice location. Seems like a good place for a date but not to watch a sports event. Wouldn't mind going back.

I contracted a bad bout of food poisoning from this place. My boyfriend and I ate on the patio, and we were seated at a dirty table. A worker proceeded to wipe the table with a damp, unsanitized cloth, and there was dried, old food left in the table crevices. We ordered hot dogs and guacamole dip. I felt fine before the meal, and had eaten nothing that day but some fruit, which I ate about 4 hours before my meal at Chiwawa. About 30 minutes after leaving Chiwawa, I felt ill, and I had nausea for about 3 hours. I then started throwing up. I threw up 5 times in 1 hour. It's the day after now, and I still feel weak and nauseous. The place really needs to work on their sanitation and food preparation. I have only gotten food poisoning twice in my life, including this instance.
