Maui Brewing Co. Waikiki, located at the Beachcomber hotel, offers a taste of Maui's popular craft beers without leaving the island. The brewpub features limited-release drafts and freshly brewed beers, using locally sourced ingredients for both their beer and food menu. At the rooftop bar, visitors can enjoy a wide selection of brews, crafted cocktails, and island-inspired cuisine while taking in views of Waikiki.
Great brewery in the center of Waikiki! This place serves a wide variety of excellent beer, amber, ale, wheat, IPA and more. The clou is you get many different tastes from spicy to fruity. Additionally, they serve all kind of food, burger, nachos and much more. There is live music, seats in- and outside and plenty of space with a big bar. A great place to spend a nice moments!

Maui Brewing is an awesome spot! They’ve got a huge selection of brews to choose from, with something for every taste. The space itself is large, open, and great for hanging out with friends or just relaxing with a cold beer. The vibe is laid-back island style, and it’s the perfect place to kick back and enjoy some local flavor. Definitely worth a visit if you love good beer and a great atmosphere! 🍻
Tom J — Google review
We were looking for somewhere new to eat and wanted a delicious cold beer. So we decided to stop by Maui Brewing. The wait time wasn't long and we got seated in a cool area. We ordered some beers and appetizers and let ourselves cool down. The food was also delicious, this is a good alternative food option to choose from. I would recommend to stop by, it will also be for the experience.
Nwoo — Google review
Came here for a late-night snack after a long day of adventuring around the island. They have a great selection of beer, late night happy hours prices, and small plates. Also opened late...that can be hard to find on the island. We had the pizza off the appetizer menu. Good food and service and would definitely come back for the happy hour prices. However, it does seem to be more of a party place. The table beside us was full of drunk guys who were very loud and obnoxious. And despite the late hour, a bachelorette party arrived which was also loud and obnoxious (although not drunk). Furthermore, the live music playing was VERY loud. Even in the open-air atmosphere it was too loud to even talk with my partner. While the late hour and prices definitely suited our needs, the loudness was uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Of course that’s not the fault of the establishment, just be prepared that if you go on a late night you will most likely be sitting in an atmosphere of loud, drunk, obnoxious tourists with live music that might be somewhat enjoyable if it wasn't 1 million decibles.
Michelle P — Google review
Great spot. My wife had the fish tacos, I had the jalapeño bacon burger. Both were perfect. Food came out very quick. The beer was refreshing. We will definitely be back in the future. Cavan was our server and he was extremely nice and was quick to refilling water which made our experience great. Great job!
Collin A — Google review
We came in hungry and Maui Brewing Co. definitely delivered. I ordered the achiote chicken MBC Nachos and… WOW. Piled high, tons of flavor, loaded with black beans, jalapeños, pico, and big scoops of guac and sour cream. The chicken had great seasoning, not bland like nachos can sometimes be and the chips stayed crisp under everything. Perfect beer & food situation. Speaking of service, It took about 15 minutes for us to get our servers attention but, Veronica took great care of us, friendly attitude, on top of refills, and had solid recommendations. The atmosphere is lively and the beer is cold, which is exactly what I wanted after a day in Honolulu. Would 100% come back for another round. 🌺🍻🌮

We had Maui canned beer at our local beer store, it's definitely on our bucket list to visit their brewery when we visit Waikiki! We are so glad to be able to do some flights to try their taproom exclusive beers! I personally like the Coconut Porter!!
Alpaca P — Google review
I ended up at Maui Brewing Company by mistake—but it turned out to be one of the best surprises of my trip! The travel was absolutely worth it. I was seated quickly, and the service was impeccable from start to finish. The bar staff was incredibly attentive, making sure my food and drinks were in front of me in no time. It really topped off my night. Great atmosphere, great service, and an unexpectedly great time—I’ll definitely be back (on purpose next time)!

Basalt is a contemporary dining venue located in the heart of Waikiki, offering a familiar comfort-style menu featuring global cuisine with local ingredients and flavors. The open kitchen welcomes guests to experience a menu influenced by multicultural flavors, curated by Corporate Executive Chef Kelly Degala and Executive Chef Keith Steel Kong. Whether it's savory breakfast dishes or Hawaiian favorites like loco moco, Basalt offers an impressive blend of flavors for all palates.
Came to Basalt for the famous charcoal pancakes and it did not disappoint. We were seated quickly and chose to sit outside—it was cool, peaceful, and a perfect setting to start the day. I ordered the Mug and, of course, the charcoal pancakes. They came out warm, beautifully plated, topped with fresh fruit, whipped cream, and served with guava syrup. It looked almost too good to eat—but that first bite proved it was just as delicious as it looked. Definitely worth the hype. I also had the Maui Gold drink, which was visually stunning and tasted just as good. Later, I tried the Spa Day—less sweet, but still super refreshing. Both drinks hit the spot. Great food, great vibes, and fair prices. This is officially my new go-to breakfast spot. Loved it!
Cymatic A — Google review
Do not sleep on Basalt. We came for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. All of the food was amazing but you have to try the charcoal pancakes. They were unlike anything we've ever had before. Fluffy, moist, and absolutely delicious.
Matt S — Google review
An instant Waikiki staple. Great atmosphere to enjoy fantastic food from chef Lance Kosaka. Light music that doesn’t disturb conversation. They have a wide variety of drinks, but I suggest the mocktail “Spa Day” and spike it with Hendrick’s Gin. Nat will take good care of ya. Lance’s spin on a classic Loco Moco will hit every savory gland you have! Sharing this dish and the Charcoal pancakes are a perfect combination to satisfy your sweet needs. ☯️

I haven't written a review in so long, but OMFG my dinner was delicious. 😭 I had the salmon ochazuke and it was the best thing I've eaten in a restaurant in as long as I can remember. My husband had the ribs with guava BBQ sauce and they were delicious too, but I'll be dreaming of the ochazuke until I can return one day.
Keiko W — Google review
I had a great experience here with my parents who are picky eaters. My shakshouka was very tasty, and not too heavy, it was a perfect start to my day. My parents ordered the breakfast style prime rib, and were very happy with the flavors. Definitely coming back for the ambiance, and for those charcoal pancakes!
Alyssa C — Google review
Food okay. Not outstanding just okay. Service naturally okay with an automatic 18% added option to the bill you can see why. They were limiting diners to those that were buying wine upon our visit due to staff shortages. Prices expensive as is everywhere but noodle restaurants in Honolulu. Wouldn't return to restaurant or indeed Honolulu ever again as prices everywhere for food and service are 100% higher than Australia and 200% higher than Europe.
Dennis — Google review
Had Prime Rib, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Their fries are great too. Wasn't crowded, mid week dinner. POG Mousse for dessert was really a topper for the gustatory evening . An amazing dessert experience! Highly recommended . Only ever knew of chocolate mousse before. Who knew there are deserts like this out there??!!
Scott S — Google review
Wasn’t expecting this restaurant to be in a sort of food court. Almost decided not to go because it’s not the most appealing of locations but gave it a shot. The food was absolutely fine and the service on point. The atmosphere is a bit sterile which is the only downside.

Perched atop a 19-story building in the heart of Waikiki, SKY Waikiki Raw & Bar is a popular open-air lounge offering stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Honolulu skyline. This rooftop destination combines a bar, restaurant, and nightclub experience, providing an array of refreshing drinks, seafood dishes, and upscale entertainment.
Sky Waikiki is such a fun experience! The rooftop bar’s live music and friendly service are eclipsed only by the amazing views of Kalakaua Avenue and Waikiki Beach. We got a table on the edge with great views and ordered cocktails and appetizers. Did not try any of the raw menu items, but maybe next time! Highly recommend this fun little spot.

Was ok. Nothing wow about it. When i went to pay. The machine "froze" so that i could not take away the automated 25%tip. I would have gladly tiped that even though i would like to get the option to not do so. And frankly..they did not deserve that tip. The drinks were ok and the food was 🤷‍♀️ The view is not the best bcz of all the hotels blocking the view. You dont get to see much of a sunset sadly 😓 but hey check it out! The view we got was pretty nice considering 😊
MaryKay M — Google review
Terrible place. There was an item in the Menu named seafood plate. It said it is for four people but it was maybe only for two. Two poke bowls in it were poke cups not bowls. At the end of pur time, we saw two giant cockroaches. I told the waiter and he was like yea we have cockroaches in Hawaii like it is normal to charge people 120 for seafood platter and let cockroaches play with their food. And then he was like we are closing in three minutes and I will give you a discount on your food. I kind of felt insulted because my experience was ruined with cockroaches giving me a discount is not going to change that. And he was not even sorry like its my fault I am not used to cockroaches in food. PLEASE DO NOT NORMALIZE COCKROACHES . BTW, the seafood platter had lobster in it on the menu but when they brought it it did not have the lobster. **update: the manager contacted me and apologized. He also refunded the full amount of our order which was incomplete. I believe this shows respect and fairness. Thank you!
Mehrdad M — Google review
I came to this place for dinner and started with a martini — extra dry, no strain, hard shaken. They made it exactly how I wanted, with those little ice chips on top that tell you the bartender knows what they’re doing. For food, I tried the Lobster Chowder and it was a great choice. Great flavorful, If you come here, definitely plan it around sunset. Watching Waikiki light up while you eat makes the whole experience unforgettable. Aloha!

Gorgeous views from this rooftop bar. Damien was our server and he was so amazing and made sure we had everything we needed during our time (even a leopard print umbrella for the sun!!) and brought the good vibes. Thank you Damien for making us so happy during happy hour haha!! Will definitely be back to this stunning place.
Taylor B — Google review
I honestly don’t understand what the bad reviews are about. This place is a gem! The service was excellent, and the drinks were great. If you come right before 5pm you can enjoy the happy hour menu and see the sunset. Highly recommended!
Nofar R — Google review
Excellent service from the host stand, to the bar to the table! Incredible views, wonderful live music and delicious food! Our server Damien was an absolute delight and we really enjoyed our time eating here! Highly recommend for a lovely delicious dinner over looking Waikīkī beach and city!!!
M T — Google review
Gorgeous views! Staff is very helpful and efficient! BUT the big “BUT” is the cocktail and food quality. Margarita was EXTREMELY sweet, undrinkable, mai tai was sweet but not as bad as margarita. The chicken wings were gastronomically unpleasant.

Tikis Grill & Bar, located at Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, is a lively spot known for its Hawaiian cuisine, cocktails, and live music. The restaurant offers special dining experiences such as the Surf & Turf dinner entree and a 4-course prix-fixe dinner on Valentine's Day.
My husband and I had dinner at Tiki’s Grill & Bar last night and wow!!! From start to finish, it was such a great experience. The staff was very friendly, and we were lucky enough to get a table on the patio overlooking the beach and water—absolutely beautiful. Our server, Noah, was fantastic—so friendly, knowledgeable, and made wonderful suggestions based on our preferences. The live music added the perfect touch to the evening, and it was so, so good! We ordered the coconut shrimp & the special (filet mignon with shrimp), and everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend Tiki’s if you’re in Waikiki!
Meredith L — Google review
Nice open air resturant. We had pretty good seats and were able to see the lights on the water. We parked at the zoo. It was just a 10 minute walk. My wife had the coconut chicken and I had the glazed ribs. The ribs had a mild sweetness and the coconut chicken had a nice sweet coconut flavor, including the rice. My favorite was the curly fries. Thick cut potatoes. The pineapple dessert is the creme rules. Its a nice mixture with the pineapple. We also had the cocnut shrimp appetizer, fantastic, failed to get a pic though. We were hungry.🙂
Eric T — Google review
Caught the end of happy hour. Tried the chicken gyoza and fries furikake. The fries stole the show. We had the prime rib which was just average. The venison gyoza was very good. Lastly we had the smoked marlin dip which was tasty. The beer and drinks were cold. Live music was playing and the view of the ocean was amazing. This meal was worth it just for the view.
Charlie M — Google review
Went for Happy Hour and some Pupus. Our server, Tom, was excellent greeting us as soon as we sat down and moving us to an ocean view table. Had a coconut mojito and a margarita to drink and the HH portions of the coconut shrimp and Kailua Pork Quesadilla. Good size and perfectly cooked and tasty. Finished up with the seared ahi tataki pupus which was tender and delicious. Then as a finale, we had the Pineapple Creme Brulee. Overall a great experience and good value at just a squeak over $100 for 2.

This was out favorite place in Wakiki. The atmosphere was perfect siting outside and seeing the sun go down with the beach. The Ube Colada was the best drink, also the Mai Tai for sure with a take home glass. All the appetizers were amazing and the Steak and Ribs were fantastic.

Yard House is a popular high-end sports-bar chain known for its extensive menu of New American cuisine and wide selection of draft beers. The restaurant is a favorite among locals and visitors, offering a vibrant atmosphere with throwback alternative music. While the portions are generous and the food may not be the healthiest, it complements the variety of beers available. The Waikiki Beach Walk location hosts happy hour specials on weekdays and late-night deals on select days.
We had an incredible dinner at Yard House in Honolulu! I ordered the Maui Pineapple Chicken and my husband got the Bleu Cheese and Bacon Burger—both were fantastic, but the chicken absolutely blew me away. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and that glaze? Truly to die for. Our server, Brian, made the experience even better. He was fun, kind, and super attentive from start to finish. The vibe of the restaurant was right up our alley too—the music was on point and added to the overall great atmosphere. For the quality of food, service, and setting, you really get the best bang for your buck here. We couldn’t have picked a better dinner spot in Honolulu. Highly recommend!
Jessica R — Google review
We’ve been here twice. Both times it was pretty busy, but the wait was reasonable. It is pretty loud and dark which made it a little challenging to have conversation and hear each other. The food was pretty decent. We ordered several items. The Chicken Tenders and the Spicy Jambalaya were especially delicious. We also ordered the pretzel, which was a little pricey for a pretzel, but it was rather large. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza was pretty dry, hardly any sauce, so I wouldn’t order it again, but I would go back a third time and try something else for sure. They did have a big selection on the kid’s menu: Burger sliders, chicken tenders, Mac and cheese. Our servers were very friendly and attentive considering how busy things were each night.
Stacey B — Google review
I stopped in at Yard House and ordered the small chicken salad along with a side of sweet potato fries. The “small” salad was actually quite generous in size — fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful enough to feel like a full meal on its own. It had a good balance of ingredients, with the chicken cooked just right and served in a way that felt both hearty and light. The sweet potato fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and they came with a maple syrup dip. That was a first for me, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise — the sweetness of the syrup paired nicely with the savory fries and gave them a unique flavor profile compared to the usual ketchup or aioli. Service was another highlight. The staff was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and seemed genuinely welcoming, which made the overall experience more enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable enough for conversation, with the upbeat energy you’d expect from Yard House. It feels like a great spot whether you’re there for a casual bite, watching a game, or meeting with friends. Overall Impression: Good food, unique touches like the maple syrup dip, and excellent service make Yard House a solid choice. I’d definitely come back to try more menu items.
Vincente C — Google review
We enjoyed it so much we came back the next day! The price and offering was right for Waikiki. The whole family found lots of options - nice variety on the kids menu and a special gluten free menu and a beer menu for dad. The brussel sprouts were amazing! The kale Caesar was also very good. The service was good and fast and if you lacked anything you could order from the tabletop stand. It is very very loud in there so don’t look to converse much, just eat and enjoy!
Alicia W — Google review
This restaurant provides a genuinely exceptional dining experience that perfectly balances quality and value. Every dish we tried was delicious, but the steak is truly the star of the menu—perfectly cooked and seasoned. The best part is the price is good, especially given the very generous portion sizes, meaning you leave feeling satisfied without draining your wallet. The entire experience is made better by the great customer service. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming to both adults and children, making it an easy choice for a family dinner or a night out. The only unique point is the parking: it is managed by valet service at the embassy, which costs $8. While not ideal, the outstanding food, excellent service, and overall pleasant atmosphere make this small fee entirely worth paying for the hassle-free experience. Highly recommended!
Mark N — Google review
This place never disappoints. The beer selection is as large as any place I've been. Add to that happy hour prices and it's perfect to catch the NBA finals game. Our server was wonderful. The happy hour portions of food were very generous.
Dodd B — Google review
Food was delicious. I had no expectations for Yard House but this location is better than the ones in Continental USA. Everything was 10/10. The one that I was surprised by was the Birria Tacos since Hawai’i isn’t known for good Latino food. The flavor was there!! Service was good. The amount you spend per person depends on what you order.
Katherine C — Google review
The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. Only thing I didn't like was the lighting. It's difficult to read the menu and need to use your phone light to see. You have to try the beer of course, very tasty!

Located on the 3rd floor rooftop pool deck, the open terrace dining area has the most incredible view of Diamond Head I’ve seen. It’s practically right at your table, making it perfect for soaking in the scenery or snapping some great photos. The food was outstanding. The Caesar salad was a standout—crisp lettuce with just the right amount of cheesy flavor. And the braised short rib? Hands down one of the best I’ve ever had, so tender and packed with taste. The service was spot-on too—our waiter checked in regularly without being overbearing, which made the meal even better. Happy hour is a great deal with plenty of drinks at reduced prices, adding to the relaxed vibe. Plus, it’s right next to the zoo, so you can easily make a day of exploring this part of Waikiki. If you’re looking for delicious food, a chill atmosphere, and that unbeatable Diamond Head view, DECK. is the place to go!

Beautiful views & exceptional service. Had drinks here last night & they played great music. Relaxed by the pool for a bit & their breakfast was excellent. Very short walk to the beach from here. We really enjoyed our stay & this restaurant was the icing on the cake.

We came here for brunch after our Diamond Head hike. The view was spectacular (see photos) and the food was hearty and satisfying, perfect for after hike. Service was so lovely and both the host and the waitress were very happy to chat with us. They have THE BEST Loco Moco here (and we've tried 3 other loco moco on the island). The drink menu looked so interesting and we regret that we didn't try any drink.

The atmosphere was beautiful overlooking Diamond Head and a very narrow view of the beach sunset that everyone squeezed in to share. We were a party of three. It took about an hour to get the food which I was ok but they got the food wrong and thus had to wait another hour. So it took almost 2 hours. I didn't want to eat it any longer. There was no comp, no comp dessert, or any discount to the bill just constant apologies for staffing and large parties. We didn't even get a visit from the front of the house manager. Unfortunately, the food and wait did not meet the expensive bill price. I highly recommend another restaurant which Waikiki has a plethora of. Also, they need to remove the purple potatoes from the menu. If you don't know how to present or season it, it shouldn't be on the menu. It was a huge miss and disappointment and I love Japanese purple sweet potato. A positive is that they offer vegetarian and GF options (just bring your own Adobo or Lawry's seasoning in your bag.)

It has a Great View If you On top Of the Hotel , if you travel with pets and the army they don’t Bother you to clean the room since they are aware there are Pets In the room , very Nice People around , no complaints at all with Others Guests. Very small Being in the 16th floor But overall it’s very nice and good to sleep comfortable too. Doesn’t Include Breakfast And It’s Kind Of expensive. The Beaches Are right there Near the Hotel . The Pool Is small But really nice for the Kids

Perfect eggs Benedict. 👌 the cocktails were delicious. The staff are amazing. The kitchen must be doing something right because everyone is loving the vibe everytime I checked and visited for breakfast or to go see the amazing view.

Service was questionable… poor management. The food was pretty good but by 8am they were sold out of the berries for their Tokyo style pancakes. Food took a very long time to come out. Basic hygiene should also be gone over with the staff. Also not sure who we spoke with, the manger? But I’m not sure why we were told “you always need a reservation here” when they were slow and that was absolutely not the case when I checked with the host.

Wow… where do I even start? I came for dinner at sunset and the view of Diamond Head glowing orange and pink was absolutely breathtaking. The vibe inside is cozy and stylish, perfect for date night or drinks with friends! I got the Spice Girl cocktail (balanced, not too sweet, with a spicy kick!) and a double of Ilegal Mezcal that was smoky, smooth, and perfect. For food, I had the house wedge salad with lilikoi vinaigrette (had to swap dressings bc of my allergies) and Kauai garlic prawns 🦐 which was fresh, crisp, flavorful, and honestly one of the best salads I’ve had on Oahu! My friend ordered the fish tacos (mahi mahi katsu with lilikoi slaw and Hawaiian chili aioli) plus the truffle fries and house blonde ale. He devoured everything. And according to him, those fries are the BEST on island. Shoutout to Abby, our server, who made the entire night so special! She was warm, knowledgeable, super mindful of my food allergies, and genuinely one of the best servers I’ve had in Honolulu. If you come here, ask for Abby! She’ll make your experience 10/10.

Stayed at the hotel and walked down to the restaurant - very convenient. Great ambiance at night sitting outside. Fire torches and firepits aflame under the starlight skies with cocktails in hand -just beautiful. Service impeccable and tasty food. Live one-man band was nice. Sitting outside during the day gives you an ‘O wow’ view of Diamond Head.

Just landed in Hawaii a few hours ago. Found this place while walking around our hotel. Got the loaded poke nachos & lei-tini during happy hour. My husband also got a pina colada & shrimp tacos. Food was good & the location is beautiful

Came here for dinner overlooking the ocean with the fire pits and live music. 5 stars all around. The place is a such a vibe, it didn not require a reservation. The server was so kind to recommend new dishes for me to try and experience here only in Hawaii. I would go back often if I had the money and luxury to do so. The only thing to nation about this place is that it was difficult to find by walking because it’s inside the Sheraton hotel.

We went to a few reception here and it’s beautiful. The lights in the trees when you walk through, and sitting on the patio on the beach was great. The kitchen was closed unfortunately but we had some great drinks nd our waitress was awesome.

Herringbone Waikiki offers a coastal California-inspired menu created by Top Chef alum Brian Malarkey. The airy and fashionable space with a large patio is perfect for enjoying locally sourced seafood dishes and cocktails. Situated on the sun-drenched rooftop of Waikiki's International Market Place, the restaurant provides a California coastal atmosphere that complements its fish meats field cuisine.
This restaurant in the heart of Waikiki is divine!!! The food is so fresh and exquisite the decor is gorgeous and so inviting and the atmosphere is wonderful, based on the top floor of the international market place mall. The staff are a little slow and can forget things, not so sharp on service but kind nonetheless! Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a beautiful dining experience! Great for family groups too!
Natalia T — Google review
The atmosphere at Herringbone is top notch - you'd never know you're inside a busy mall! The ambiance and the service really made dinner feel relaxing. However, the food was really hit or miss, and the menu inconsistencies between online, in print, and verbal were so disappointing. They didn't have several things that were listed online (including the dinner my husband wanted) and didn't have the dessert that I wanted to go here for - it's still listed on both the online and restaurant menus, but the waiter told us it's discontinued. If we'd known what was actually on the menu, we'd probably have skipped going here. 5/5 Drinks - both the cocktails and mocktails are flavourful and fun 5/5 Wagyu hot stone - we loved this! Small portions of course (it's a small appetizer), but the flavour was so good 2/5 American wagyu - this was not cooked rare as ordered, and was kind of so-so. Unfortunate since it wasn't cheap. My husband didn't want to waste food by having it remade but it was so disappointing 3/5 Brussels sprouts - very oily, not a lot of flavour 4/5 Bone marrow - very tiny portion but great flavour 3/5 Misoyaki butterfish - pretty standard and the bok choy is a great addition. I didn't love it, but it was good. The shrimp dumplings were the highlight of the dish for sure Overall we enjoyed the setting for dinner a lot but for a $200 meal I expected it to be better - and especially for the steak to be cooked as ordered

Great service from Shannon! Favorite drink of the trip as the Capricious Collins, so refreshing. The Wagyu hot stone and miso cod were the standouts of the meal. Came back the next day for another beverage, nice bar staff too!

Such a hidden gem tucked away on the 3rd floor. Quiet but lovely! Food was fantastic and the service top notch! Super low prices for the area!

Decent spot for happy hour The food was average for this price range, hit and miss. But the ingredients taste fresh which is good. My favorite surprisingly was the vegan risotto. The staff are super helpful and the atmosphere is nice
David Z — Google review
Interesting menu, pricy like everything else in Waikiki, but you always hope the food will match the price. I tried the grilled octopus - half of it was great, black eye peas and sauce, the bigger side was a bit chewy - next time I’ll go with the wagyu on hot stone (my second choice). The pork chop was all good, Bruxelles sprouts with sweet chilli sauce and a cabbage on top - really my favorite of the dinner! The coconut dome desert was light and tasty, not very sweet, loved it. To compensate for the octopus,we were treated to a desert/show experience - a ball of chocolate filled with ice cream and a strawberry, served with rum set on fire (I believe it was rum because my husband kept saying he’s tasting some 😁) For drink I had a gin based cocktail, with a Hawaii flavor but as close to gin and tonic you can get, with a bit of flowery/fruity taste - loved it! Our server was a bit occupied to take care of us, even though the restaurant was not too full…The kitchen stuff came to table to check on us and I really appreciate the attention! As not all food is created equal in Waikiki , this place is fairly good.

We went to Herringbone Waikiki for happy hour and also celebrate our anniversary. There was no wait for a table and we didn't have reservations. Josiah was our attentive server. I had the Berry Good Time while Hubby had the Peach Daiquiri. The drinks were well balanced. Then, we shared a dozen Wildcat West Coast Oysters, Gochujang Octopus, Island Chopped Salad, Hamachi Crudo, and Hot Stone Washugyu. Everything was delicious! The oysters were creamy. We particularly enjoyed the hamachi crudo and ordered another one. We ended with the Pandan Dome dessert. It was an interesting sweet ending. Highly recommend this happy hour if you're in Waikiki.
David W — Google review
I’ve been wanting to try this place ever since it opened and unfortunately it did not live up to the expectations. It has absolutely stunning design, beautiful patio and dining room, definitely would be a good spot for a get together atmosphere-wise. I came in around 9 pm on a Saturday night and the the restaurant wasn’t busy, I was greeted and seated immediately and the hostess was so incredibly nice and welcoming despite the fact it was already so late into the busiest night of the week. I happened to come during the happy hour, so I got a drink and food off that menu - Aoki Manhattan, hamachi crudo and furikake fries. I’m a whiskey/bourbon aficionado and it was the first time I had a Manhattan served on the rocks. The drink was flavorful and stiff but biting on the small pieces of ice felt a bit off. The crudo tasted fantastic, fresh fish, tangy sauce and topping, almost perfect if it was a bit more seasoned. I wouldn’t recommend furikake fries. Definitely prepared to order, hot and crispy, but the flavor was lacking. Small sprinkle of mass-produced furikake that mostly contained salt didn’t do anything for the flavor and nor did a modest amount of mayo squeezed on top. My server seemed in a rush and a bit uninterested, perhaps because it was just me. My water never got refilled, he never checked in on me or asked how was everything going. Somebody who I assumed to be a manager checked in on me, I shared my experience and he seemed to care and wanting to help/rectify my experience. I won’t be back as there are better places on the island, but I believe they have some good dishes and maybe you should find out for yourself.

Nestled in the vibrant Kaka'ako district, Doraku Sushi Kaka'ako is a modern Japanese gastropub that beautifully marries traditional sushi craftsmanship with innovative culinary flair. Founded by Kevin Aoki, son of the legendary Benihana creator Rocky Aoki, this lively venue boasts an inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The menu features a delightful array of Izakaya cuisine and creative sushi rolls that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.
Amazing experience! The sushi was fantastic… both in quality and preparation. The rolls were very creative and delicious… I love spicy rolls so we got the god of fire and it was amazing. Highly recommend this place! Prices were great too for sushi… very affordable for the quality. The atmosphere is great and our server was fantastic! She even sat down and recommended fun hikes and beaches to try once we told her we were just visiting. We may even go back again for a second time it was that good! Also be sure to save room for dessert… the tempura brownie was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had!

Kobe sliders are top tier, they were so good I keep thinking about them. The tempura brownies with the vanilla ice cream were also amazing. I really enjoyed the lychee martini as well! Everyone here was super kind, and service was quick and efficient as well.

Had dinner at Doraku tonight and we had such a great experience! The manager Micah, and our server Steffen were both so accommodating and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. My partner and I have been to Doraku a few times now, and the reason we keep coming back is because of the consistently great service and delicious food!! We ordered calamari, oysters, grilled squid (so tender!) , hamachi, and garlic steak everything tasted amazing! What really stood out was how attentive both the manager and our server were, constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Customer service matters more to me than anything else! And doraku always goes above and beyond. You can really tell they care about their guests and take pride in what they do. It's rare these days to find a restaurant that delivers both great food and genuinely warm service but this place does it every time. We'll definitely be back! I highly recommend this spot!!!!
Marie P — Google review
This bougie Izakaya has fresh seafood and extensive alcohol menu and a good vibes. The tables are small and the portions are small that they could be shareable, but you would definitely need more than a few plates amongst a few people. There is an app with a loyalty program under their parent company the Aoki Group. Their valet parking is cash only $7 plus tip. Small group reservations can be made online and large group can be made over the phone. They do have a second floor private area.
Rach T — Google review
Food wasn't good, what you see on Google map photos are not what you will receive! Low quality fish on nigiris, fried rice with Wagyu (4-5 pinky size meat cut like tiny ball) had no flavor. Guyazo and Miso were only delicious food during our visit. Appreciate the manager trying to make it right, but that doesn't wipe a horrible food experience! The server was a bit too quick, sweet and courteous but jumping around too rapidly! Absolutely not coming back, added to my shitlist.
H. M — Google review
While I noted gluten free needs before coming and again upon arriving there were many mix ups. This is a serious issue for many and while I spoke about this multiple times during ordering and once items came out, I have to say this place is not somewhere I can come back to 2 orders came out not gluten free… and I’m paying for it. Order inaccurate: while we were told we were ordering 2 orders of 2 “pieces” of salmon sashimi they got the order wrong and we were slammed with a bill much much greater than what was expected. We did not eat the extra pieces of sashimi that erroneously came with the order but we still had to pay… 2 stars for the food: I will say the mushroom order & salmon carpaccio was good, but everything else had a strong taste of toxic, fragranced dish soap. (The natto rolls, the squid) I truly try to make the best of meals so I squeezed a lot of lemon and put salt on it. Very disappointed & my guest and I felt unwell that evening and the morning after… I had high hopes because reviews were promising but this was a let down to be quite honest! The server did said she tried to communicate our needs but when we pointed out the salmon order was wrong she said “sorry” with no action to rectify her mistake.

Chart House Waikiki is a classic steak and seafood restaurant that offers stunning marina views and nightly entertainment. Established in 1969 by surfing legend Joey Cabell, this landmark features a midcentury fine dining concept with an extensive menu including oysters Rockefeller, shrimp cocktail, bison tenderloin, poke, macadamia-nut-crusted mahimahi, and the popular 'Joey's ahi mignon.' The restaurant also offers early bird specials and a weekend brunch.
Great spot for brunch! Service great, food great (thicker potatoes could have been cooked a bit more), great coffee, tea was a little watered down, hostess… could have similar energy to the rest of the team, but not knocking a star for that. Overall great experience! Been here a few times but always wait to come back because of reasons not listed here. Today was a great surprise! We will be back sooner than later this time. See you next Sunday! Open for brunch on Sundays now 10-2pm. Delicious. There was live music, they validate parking (still paid $5), and Kaimana discount. Highly recommend!

We ordered the filet mignon with a baked potato and the prime steak with garlic mash. Overall, this was really good food. I would have liked more veggies (only came with 3 asparagus links). Otherwise, the live music and vibe of the restaurant were great! The server (Jaime) was friendly and attentive.

Chart House located at the Marina in Waikiki is amazing. Our server Tony and his assistant Mike are a wonderful team. From our cocktails, appetizers, and main course…. Just incredible. The food and service is exactly what I imagined Hawaii to be and more.

Really enjoyed the chart house. Our concierge at the hilton recommended it. We had a marina view table booked for us Most importantly the food was really good, For starters I had a delicious shrimp cocktail and my wife had.... French onion soup (we can get that at home easily). Then onto ahi (yellow fin tuna ) filet which was awesome with the white rice. My wife really enjoyed it too and Amaurey or servery was uoer helpful. Really recommend here!

Had a delicious dinner here. I ordered the Island Style Grilled Chicken that was cooked perfectly. It was so moist and flavorful, and the green beans and baked potato were a great addition. My boyfriend ordered the Ahi Poke and said he could’ve eaten two plates it was so good. We ordered the lava cake for dessert that was also amazing. The staff was so friendly and our server made great recommendations. Great evening overall.

This bar/restaurant must rank high for entertainment bc my food was mediocre at best. The crab cake tasted good but had no jump lump crabmeat. The jumbo stuffed shrimp weren’t jumbo and the stuffing was mostly a breading, it was supposed to be a Dungeness crab stuffing. There was a live band playing and the crowd loved them!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here several years ago and had a wonderful experience. Because of that, we recently returned to celebrate again. After being seated at a table that had a great view of the marina, we were given an incredibly thoughtful anniversary card! Our server, Bruno, was very attentive and very helpful. Our meals were prepared just as we asked. There were many dessert choices and we thoroughly enjoyed finishing a super meal with such decadent creations. Chart House made our special occasion even more special! Mahalo nui loa to everyone at the Chart House!

Given that I'm from Texas, I'm not used to birds flying around restaurants and attempting to eat off my plate, so that made me uncomfortable. The food was overly priced but expected since it's Hawaii. The avocado toast and acai bowl were great. The rest of the food we got was decent. They have great views and good customer service.

Paco was our server and he was awesome. He was very accommodating with our nut allergies and had great recommendations on what we can eat to avoid cross contamination. We had the fish chips which was great, not oily, perfect about of batter. Chicken taco was great, meat was flavorful and juicy. View of the restaurant is stunning over looking Waikiki beach. I for the first time had coconut martini and it did not disappoint. This combination can be dangerous.Restaurant is clean. While enjoy our late lunch we heard Sirens alerting us of a tsunami, of course we all panicked and Paco did a great job calming all the guest and ensuring everything will be fine and to enjoy lunch. Overall great experience here.

Great concept but missed the execution. My seafood coconut chowder had excellent flavors but everything was slightly below temperature. My husband ordered the fish special and his meal was warm, not hot. But again, the flavors were fantastic. Not sure whether the servers or the kitchen are the cause, but I’m leaning toward the kitchen. Pouring hot coconut broth over cold fish makes everything just warm. Perhaps it’s me but I like my hot food to be hot!

Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store is a casual clothing store offering a wide range of men's and women's apparel, shoes, and accessories. Located in the heart of Waikiki, the restaurant features a second-story dining room and a third-story rooftop bar with beach-inspired cocktails. The menu showcases traditional Hawaiian cuisine as well as dishes incorporating locally sourced ingredients. The Filet Mignon is particularly praised for its tenderness and juiciness.
The experience here highly exceeded my expectations. Simi, our server, was so professional and knowledgeable about the food that I was so impressed. I ordered the shrimp and scallop curry which was impeccable! Honestly all of our dishes were a hit including the chilean sea bass, crab and shrimp pasta and macadamia nut crusted snapper. Would return and hope I get Simi again!!
Rosa V — Google review
Tommy Bahamas food is really delicious; many wouldn’t initially think of this place as a foodie destination but it most certainly is. We have been coming here for years and almost always choose it over the Hard Rock Cafe (which is in the adjacent building) whenever we are in close proximity to Saratoga Rd & Lewers St. While the Hard Rock is a solid venue for standard pastas, burgers & salads, Tommy Bahamas has taken such typical standard fare and enhanced them with delicious island-centric flavors and flare that will reinvigorate your taste buds on dishes that you think you’ve become an expert on. From the delectable wagyu steak sandwich, to the pot stickers with a bit of Thai curry broth, to the amazing Mahi-Mahi tacos, and the loco moco were Michelin Star level good! The loco moco was just spot-on perfect with the patty having amazing beefy juiciness with a touch of flame grill flavors, on top of the tasty fried rice that are supplemented by the sunny side up egg and the ono gravy. I can unreservedly say, Tommy Bahamas Loco Moco is now my hands down favorite on the island. While the restaurant’s ambiance is fairly generic to the look and feel of many restaurants on the island, the upstairs rooftop deck gives you a nice mix of sun (options for shaded/open air) and a breeze to enjoy your meal. If you want to be cooler and get a complete respite from the sun, the 2nd floor dining area is the spot for you. Give this place a try, you’ll be pleasantly surprised and satisfied!

We had the steak and flour an appetizer the crab cakes. Those were my favorite. Steak was alright but not for over $50. I'll pay for a good steak if warranted, just ok. Ordered rare and was about medium. Same with my husband's. He ordered medium and was pretty well done. The dessert was the best. Oreo crust, chocolate mousse, heath bar crumbles.

Let me start by saying the service is great. Our waitress was awesome and manager is great. The atmosphere is also great. However, as a restaurant this place does not deliver on food. I ordered a ribeye medium rare and what I received was a near well done steak. Manager quickly did a redo but the new steak was terrible. The edges were torched to well done and the middle was blue rare. For a $55 steak, the technique of the kitchen is subpar as i can cook a better steak than that in my own kitchen. I wish I took a picture of this terible steak, but the manager was eager to please and I didnt get a chance to take a photo with him asking how great everything is. (Also they temperature checked it to 110 degrees F, which isnt medium rare. It should've been 130 degrees f) I was also expecting more flavor than just sweet steak (pineapple miso glaze) but it was not good. I recommend you do not order the steak here. Otherwise, everyone else in the party enjoyed their food (pasta & fillet).

I highly recommend Tommy Bahama Restaurant. The taste and quality of the food is amazing. I got the wagyu burger and the mix of ingredients was very flavorful. My family also got the chilean sea bass, chicken dish, macadamia nut crusted dish, bleu crab soup, and chicken tortilla soup and all the food was very fresh, aesthetically plated, and full of flavor. Even my child's margherita pizza was on a soft bread and delicious. The ambience of the restaurant was stylish and filled with island vibe. Even the waiting area was a nice place to sit and relax. I recommend sitting on the fourth floor. It has a nice view of the city and the open air had a nice breeze. Even the entertainment solo guitar and singer was very professional and added to the vibe (shout out to koa_attwood). I would return no questions asked. I might add I've been to Tommy Bahama restaurants on Kona and Maui and they were equally good.

In one sentence: The food was phenomenal. Pretty much evyis made in house and it's made with love. The care that goes into everything comes out in the taste and appearance. I can not say enough about the food. Yes, it is expensive but if you can treat yourself to a meal like this once a month please do yourself a favor and enjoy it. I sat at the roof top bar. The service was great, Chinita was my bar tender and server. She was spot on with suggestions, conversation and attitude. She was a pleasure to meet and interacted with. The atmosphere is as timeless as it gets. The whole building harkens back to yesteryear. It has a casual luxury feel, an elegance that the rest of the world left behind. The first floor is a clothing store but the real meat and potatoes are upstairs. Don you best aloha shirt or floral dress and slow down for a few hours in the afternoon. Sit on a rooftop and sip a cocktail. Turn you phone off and imagine how the world used to be. Strike up a conversation with a stranger and enjoy the moment of connection as the world spins beneath you. As always, be civil, support local, and go forth with love.

We met friends for lunch here on a very hot day. We were seated on the top floor lanai under cover and with a nice breeze. Service was fast and excellent. I had the seared ahi salad which was outstanding, I ate every morsel. My wife had the crab cakes. She loved them but I was not as impressed. We had another friend who had the fish tacos and inhaled them. Good ice tea. Excellent lilikoi dessert. We will return.

Asian restaurant
Morimoto Asia Waikiki is a sleek and modern restaurant located in Honolulu, offering high-end Japanese fusion cuisine by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. Situated at the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, the restaurant provides stunning ocean views and features a glass-encased exhibition kitchen. The menu showcases Chef Morimoto's interpretation of iconic Asian flavors inspired by his travels to various Asian countries.
A celebration of all things good from the Pacific Rim, Morimoto Asia Waikiki well-reflects and elevates the culinary diversity drawn from Hawaii. Order family style so as to try as many treats on menu, while sharing amongst good company over cocktails. As with any Hawaiian table, pretty much any and all combinations of dishes will work. Highlights include old-time Morimoto classics such as Tuna Pizza (i.e. sashimi tostada) and Fish Carpaccio (e.g. Japanese ceviche). Sticky Ribs, in hoisin sweet chili, is a definite all-around crowd pleaser. Ishiyaki Buri Bop, Ribeye Steak (16oz) and Angry Lobster make an excellent surf-and-turf combo to close the meal — and are a joy for all senses. Served in hot stone pot or sizzling iron plates, proteins are seared and sauces bubbling table side. Desserts, top-notch. Ube Basque Cheesecake is amazingly creamy, earthy but still slightly tart. Chocolate Entremet is served flambé. Excellent and on-point front-of-house service team, providing a truly fine-dining experience, with still a welcoming and personable beach vibe. Interior and exterior seating, chic designed.

Everything about our dinner was top notch! The hospitality was beautifully orchestrated while also not being overbearing! Every single person was so nice, you can definitely feel the Aloha! Now for the food, everything was a 10/10!! The duck amazinggg, the ribeye was so juicy and and sticky ribs are a must! This was an unforgettable experience for sure! Our server Nezi was awesome, the manager Sara was so helpful, and the support staff was the equivalent to the 2016 golden state warriors! Will definitely be back soon

From the moment we stepped into this breathtaking restaurant, we were swept away—not just by the view of the beach (which are absolutely stunning), but by the warm, impeccable service that made us feel like VIPs from start to finish. Every detail is masterfully done—from the sleek, modern design to the gentle ambient lighting that perfectly complements the surrounding scenery. It’s the kind of place where you feel like time slows down, and every course is an event in itself. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about every dish and drink pairing, and genuinely kind. You could tell that the staff takes pride in the experience they’re creating, and it shows. Now, the food? Next level. Every dish was a beautifully plated work of art—delicate, flavorful, and bursting with the kind of balance only true culinary masters can achieve. From the melt-in-your-mouth sushi to the perfectly seasoned entrées and creative cocktails, everything was unforgettable. This isn’t just dinner—it’s an experience. One that I’ll be dreaming about until I come back (which will be very soon hopefully). If you’re looking for an upscale spot that delivers on all fronts—ambience, service, views, and cuisine—this is it. Pure magic.

Christopher was our server and he went above and beyond! We came here as an end to our week long honeymoon and he made the whole experience more than we could have dreamed of!! Ryon and Skye also did great at making sure our table had full water cups and took our plates right when we finished. If you want the most amazing food you’ve EVER had with service to match, you should make a reservation here! 💯

The staffs are very nice and welcoming. The food was good. I love my surf and turf sushi roll the most. Had the Flaming Chocolate and it was amazing. The location is fantastic as it is in the heart of Waikiki and can see the water.
Pla N — Google review
Amazing! The staff are on point, from explaining the menu to being sure no allergies or special food needs. We followed the waiters suggestions and then shared. He was spot on! The duck melted in your mouth and the two sauces created so much depth. The beef and shrimp plates were equally delicious. The chef even took something as simple as fried rice to another level. The menu selection and pricing was much better and the quality of our experience was the best we have found in Waikiki. To top it off, the view…. So yummy and reasonable, we are returning tonight!

I stay at the hotel and Morimoto is at the second floor. My reservation is at the opening time at 5PM. so while waiting to go to dining area at the bar is busy and not enough staff to take care of the customers. I wish to have a drink before I go in, but it didn't happen. server is professional and polite. I actually look at the menu before I come and lots of interesting fusion in the menu. We have Sticky Ribs and Hamachi Taco for start. Grilled Kalbi and A-5 Surf Turf roll. Surf Turf is nice presentation and Miyazaki wagyu is very good. If you want to have a fancy dinner, Morimoto is a wonderful choice for special day.

Mahina & Sun’s is a lively and trendy hotel bar located in The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club, drawing both locals and tourists to its vibrant atmosphere. The bar boasts a cool, midcentury aesthetic with nods to 1960s Hawaiian surf culture, featuring custom work by local artisans. The menu offers innovative Hawaiian plates and craft cocktails, including the popular Lavender Rub and daily Market Special.
This was one of the best meals we had in Honolulu. Highly recommend for seafood lovers. Our appetizers, dinner and dessert were five stars. Deserving of more attention and foot traffic- hands down.

We really like this restaurant—it has great vibes, a cute pool, and excellent service. The food comes in large portions and is nicely cooked. The chicken, in particular, is tender and flavorful. It’s also in a great location, within walking distance of the main street. They host lunch parties on Saturdays and often have live music with talented singers performing great songs.

Everything was going well. We had a nice smoked ahi & oysters for starters, steak and pork chop for the mains, and a beautiful cocktails. We had a reservation for 2 - for our anniversary, which they honored & gave us a quiet spot (one of the round tables in the corner). I also advanced order a dessert to surprise my husband w/ a greeting if they do that. So, comes the dessert. The server offered 3 items as Anniversary dessert (not explained but was charged half the price). From their menu it looks like the Banana Pudding was most popular so we got that. We waited for about 10 minutes for this - mind you we’re already done, table is clean, and is waiting for the check. There were 5-6 tables being served and less busy than we arrived. Comes the banana pudding on a ramekin, with a candle (as requested), served by the host, not the server. Our excitement slowly fades when we realize this might be a joke. It’s not a pudding after all. Someone decided to slice a banana, top off with whip, & sprinkles cookie crunch. Literally chopped bananas!! My husband and I laugh about it. Maybe someone was tripping, but sorry if that’s the quality that you advertised, you need to set expectation better. Maybe call it fruit bowl with whip & cookie crunch.

This is a hidden gem! The MAHINA FAMILY FEAST is out of this world, Amazing! They have a menu that is very balanced, with apps, entrees & desserts that are balanced for all parties. It’s a perfect sized menu, that has staples and the rotating taps & fresh fish that changes frequently.

Update: I recently returned and the food and service are still on point. Checked this place out for restaurant week. This is a chill location to grab a bite to eat and enjoy some tasty drinks. They make their own lilikoi syrup as well. The ambience and customer service are on point but the food and drinks will have you coming back. The validate for 4 hrs of parking in Hyatt Centric.

Chance upon this place after a recommendation by a hotel staff nearby. The ambience is awesome with live music at the pool side. Didn't expect to find this gem. The food was nice especially the Banana Pudding. I ordered after I saw earlier post mentioning abt this pudding. Overall satisfy with what I got tonight 😋

Hated to be cut the rating but three of our fairly large party got sick hours after eating here. Which is a shame since most of the dishes were fine! My nephew enjoyed the pizza the most. The hostess and the waitress were great, providing us with tons of service. Most of us had the raw oysters, and most of us did not get sick, but the oysters were flown in from Washington State so it's not local. I suspect that we were sitting in the hotel lobby which had an indoor pool, which at dinner was a nice touch since it provided us with a semblance of someone's backyard patio.

Nice setting with music and dining under the stars (if sitting outside). We tried the family feast (red snapper) and Margherita pizza. The fish was fried nicely and some of the sides were great. A little over priced.

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Zigu is a trendy Japanese restaurant located near the Ala Wai Canal in Waikiki, emphasizing the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients to enhance the flavors of their dishes. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including traditional sushi entrees, creative noodle dishes like emerald-green kale udon with Japanese-inspired pesto and ono creative entrees. The restaurant also features a full sake bar for guests to enjoy.
Zigu is such a Waikiki gem! The fish is incredibly fresh, everything comes out fast, and the flavors are on point. Our waiter, David, was hilarious and even helped us get the best food pics with his special lighting setup (seriously, mvp)! We ordered edamame, miso soup, a mix of nigiri, and a few of their daily specials - all of which were amazing! My mouth is drooling thinking about how the fish literally melted in our mouths. They’re super accommodating with food allergies, and the vibe is great whether you sit indoors or out. Warning ⚠️ you’ll leave already planning your next visit!

The fishes were very fresh and good. Not super impressed with the special dishes and the cucumber salad. Overall it’s pretty good sushi place and I think their sushi/ sashimi special dish would be my suggestion since all the fishes we ordered were good. And their servers were really nice and exhausted, we had great time there

Upon arriving we were greeted with a warm welcome from the entire restaurant staff. Our waiter, Garrett, was amazing. Offered great food recommendations, great service, and better conversation. The food was excellent, some of the best sushi we’ve had. We were also fortunate to try a few items on their Osaka Festival menu. Zigu was a great experience and I would recommend it to anybody.

I had sushi there and it was very good, also very much enjoyed the red wine. The location is good because we can walk around to see beautiful places after the meal. The lady who was taking care of my order, she was very nice, polite and friendly.
Pla N — Google review
High praise to Zigu for using some local produce in their menu. Overall, recommended to try to taste the local flavors and fresh produce while staying at Waikīkī. Good: Zigu’s tofu was great! Probably one of the better homemade or local tofu I had in my life! But, the pork on top was way spicer than expected. Only for spicy connoisseurs. The local watercress is on point, everything you’d expect from the freshest watercress. The balance of yuzu and sesame oil was great along with crunchy and soft watercress. Must try for veggie lovers. If I can choose, I’d return to this restaurant for this alone if I am back in Waikiki. Okay: The cucumber was too mushy for my liking. Maybe it was a bad harvest or sat out too long for that day. I thought Hawaiian local cucumbers were juicy and crunchy,,, didn’t receive this impression at all. Ahi katsu didn’t really have any elements beyond what you’d expect(for what you are paying). The basics were covered with fresh tuna, decent breading, but once again, nothing mind blowing. Kale salad probably could be lightly broiled, dunked in cold water afterward for extra softness and slight crunch.
TIM — Google review
Had a very good experience : tasty rolls, fast and very attentive service, beautiful place, good location. The rolls recipes were really elaborated and all the ones we tried were full of flavors. We didn’t have a reservation and could be directly seated. Also they had non-alcoholic Asahi (just love this drink!) Anyway I recommend this place!

The best Japanese restaurant we have tried in Waikiki! We ordered a watercress salad, a spicy cold soba, and grilled salmon. All soooooo good! Will definitely come again.

I think this is a fantastic restaurant with delicious food, great service, and reasonable prices for Honolulu! Everything we ordered was flavorful, especially the tuna, which was high quality. The tempura mushroom was outstanding—one of the best I’ve ever had—large, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sushi was decent, but the other dishes stood out even more. Overall, a great dining experience!

Monkeypod Kitchen - Waikiki, located in the Koolina resort area on Oahu's west side, is renowned for its meticulous attention to detail in both its food and cocktail offerings. The menu features a blend of Hawaiian influences, such as house-baked sweet bread buns for the burgers and scratch-made crust for the pizzas.
We went to Monkeypod Kitchen at the Outrigger for our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and located right by the ocean. You can enjoy a gorgeous sea view while you eat. If you avoid peak hours, you can usually get seated within about five minutes. Our waitress Daisy was so sweet, kind, attentive, and thoughtful. She really made our day special. We truly appreciated her warm service. The cheeseburger was amazing. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor. Daisy recommended the banana cream pie and it was incredible! The fresh local bananas made it extra delicious. Everything about this place the food, the view, and the staff made our anniversary dinner perfect. Highly recommend! 🌺💛

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for our recent dining experience at your restaurant during our visit to the Outrigger Reef in Waikiki Beach. It was truly a memorable evening that my family and I will cherish. As the sun set over the ocean, we were delighted to have a lovely table right by the water. The ambiance was wonderful, creating the perfect backdrop for our family dinner. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals; they were nothing short of fabulous! Additionally, having our granddaughter with us made the occasion even more special. I must commend your staff for their kindness and attentiveness. The service was exemplary and added to the overall positive atmosphere of our evening. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, and we look forward to returning on our next visit. Thank you once again for such a delightful experience!

Absolutely need to eat here if/when you are in Waikiki! Not only was the food amazing and delicious but the service and atmosphere were great! This restaurant is literally right at the water’s edge. We were fortunate to sit right at the open window to Waikiki Beach- waves were gently rolling into the wall that was less than 2 feet from us. The sun had just set and we enjoyed the twilight’s glimmer across the water and boats off the coast. The service was spectacular from the engaging young lady that sat us to the attentive Eli who was our server. My wife enjoyed an extremely generous dish of Saimin- with great noodles in a delicious broth with fresh broccoli and tasty pulled pork (yes I cheated and couldn’t resist trying her her dish - and was glad I did!) The fresh fish (they get fresh local fish each day!) for the Macadamia Crusted fish was Hebi - which I had not had before - was very tasty. And the sauce with the fruit blend was perfect. We topped it off with a great chocolate cream pie (that they added just little Carmel sauce just under the crust - subtle but tasty add) Highly recommend you eat at the Monkeypod Kitchen Waikiki for a fabulous meal and amazing view/location. You will be glad you did!

A Lovely Spot: Monkey Pod I'm so glad I stumbled upon Monkey Pod! This cute restaurant has an AMAZING view, and the service is top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive, and the manager is a rockstar! Try their Passionfruit Foam - it's a taste sensation! And, OMG, their Mahi-Mahi Burger is delish! Fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection... except for the soggy fries (just sayin'). We also tried the Jerk Chicken, which, unfortunately, needed a bit more cooking time. But the manager was super cool about it and gifted us a comp card to come back and try more dishes. We took them up on that offer and went back for potstickers, apps, and drinks - everything was yummy! Service was consistently great, and the atmosphere is just lovely. If I were you, I'd go for drinks, apps, and the Mahi-Mahi sandwich or burger - that's where they shine! Worth a visit! P.S. As for me, I prefer my Mai tai’s on the sweet, so Mai Tai cocktails at the Dukes or Mai Tai bars are still my fave!

Stopped in for a light lunch after walking around Waikīkī. Bulgogi tacos were flavorful and had a great fresh taste with the added jicama and jalapeño. The shrimp with the cornbread was decent. The bread dished up a little too much of the oily sauce, so mostly had to eat the top portion. Located right on the water, and the view of the surf and surfers was beautiful.
Thomas C — Google review
Our waitress was awesome. We were there at night so we did not get to enjoy the view which is supposed to be spectacular along the whole restaurant. Food was good, not cheap and a pretty limited menu. The saving grace were the delicious dessert pies - Coconut Cream & Dreamsicle (still $14 a slice, but all organic and it is Hawaii after all). The fish sandwich was good, but fries are extra $...come on, fries should be standard with a $23 sandwich only for dinner. My husband enjoyed his macadamia nut crusted fish. We were sat on the farthest left side (upon entering) by the corner open wall and one booth away from the kitchen - - it was ungodly hot - even with tons of ceiling fans on high and all the walls completely open. The heat from that kitchen came in unrelenting waves, extremely hot - way too uncomfortable and put a damper on the night, slightly miserable. They were totally packed, and no place to move for a while - and we even had reservations, but it is a crap area to sit. Then the NOISE!!! Even though we were at the edge of the restaurant next to a huge open wall - the noise was deafening (we sat corner to corner) and still had to lean in and talk extra loud. Between the heat and the noise, it was sadly not a great last meal of our week in Waikiki. Daytime...maybe with the view by the open walls or, better, outside. But, we would NOT sit near the kitchen and without some serious noise abatement we wouldn't return for a relaxing meal, even though the food was good. Too bad, as the location is nice.

The kalua pork pineapple pizza was delicious. The Maitai was yummy, loved the foam on top. You needed it for the perfect blend. My boyfriend ordered the margarita pizza (which in my opinion was the wrong thing to order in general because I think that’s the most boring order ever, but he claims to like margarita pizza) but anyways, he said it was one of the worst executed margarita pizzas a he’s ever had. We also shared the bulgogi tacos which were flavorful. However, he has a sweet tooth and couldn’t make a decision which pie to get and we just went with the traditional banana crème. But the server was so sweet and brought us both the banana one and the orange one. And I loved the orange one. Definitely a cheesecake texture for the that one rather than pudding texture like the banana one.

Wonderful!! The view was more than I could have asked for, and our server JR was amazing. Very friendly and helpful with things for us to check out on the island. I was able to order from the kid menu which was a big plus because I’m not a fan of breakfast. It was enough to nibble. We came back several times on our trip. Their food is farm to table and you can certainly taste the freshness. Their pog juice is legit!

This self-serve bar is perfect for DIY enthusiasts and those craving some of the best chicken wings around. With a touch card in hand, you can sample an impressive selection of local craft beers, ciders, and wines while enjoying the laid-back outdoor space with your furry friend.
We stopped by Off the Wall for happy hour without a reservation and were warmly welcomed right in. We grabbed a table outside and enjoyed the breezy (windy) atmosphere, perfect for a Friday afternoon. The food was absolutely on point. The Brussels sprouts with bacon were slightly spicy, crispy, and bursting with flavor - an absolute must order! We also tried the calamari, which was cooked to perfection and paired with a creamy cilantro sauce that took it to the next level. So good! I really appreciated that they offered a nonalcoholic beer option. I ordered the Lagunitas Hazy IPNA which was refreshing with a fruity flavor- it was like summer in a glass! It’s great to see spots like this offering something for everyone. The service was excellent from start to finish. Staff was friendly, attentive, and really made us feel at home. We’ll definitely be back for more happy hour bites and chill vibes!

(Last visited 12/10/2022.) On vacation in Hawaii for a couple of weeks and I saw some time ago that the best wings (according to the Mashed YouTube channel) in Hawaii were here at Off The Wall Craft Beer & Wine. I'll be the judge of that... so here's how things went! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is located inside the South Shore Mall located in Honolulu. There's no direct signage outside the lets you know this place is here, but once inside you'll see it clearly. The restaurant is beautiful though. The big windows let in a whole lot of natural light, the ceilings are super high with exposed ventilation and the structure around is a mixture of brick and wood. I really liked it in here. It was fairly quiet since it was the middle of the day during a weekday. Service: I can't remember the name of our server, but I think her name was Naomi or something like that. She was really sweet and even took the time to give us a list of about 25 other places around the islands that we should check out! She was simply awesome. Food/Drinks: So here at Off The Wall, drinks are just that. Off the wall. When you check in to the host stand they run your credit card and give you a restaurant card. With this card you're allowed to get an empty drink glass then go up to any of the available beers or wines on the wall and access them. You tap your card and then pull down on the lever. Once this happens a volume counter will begin to let you know how much has gone into your glass and then the total price is revealed to you as well. The first beer I tried was Killah Dragon cider by Paradise Ciders. It was fruity, a bit sour, not terribly sweet, but had lots of bold fruit flavors. Next up I tried Red Zeppelin by The Aloha Beer Co. This one was a bit bitter, not sweet at all, more-so on the heavy side, but a strong, hoppy, flavorful beer you'd need breaks between. When we came, we actually were able to check in on Yelp and there was an offer available where they gave you a free order of empanadas! They're big, fluffy and flaky and is served over a bed of slaw with a side of chimichurri sauce. These were INCREDIBLE. They were buttery, crispy, warm, hot, not spicy, full of meat and seasoned so well. Next up are what Mashed Food called the best wings in all of Hawaii. You get a choice of BBQ, salt & vinegar or chimichurri. The last option sounded the best so we went with those. They are gigantic. Lol. They're also topped with sesame seeds and scallions. These were... okay. I thought they would've been crispy, but they were more fleshy. The flavors were mild and not very bold, but decent. Next up I tried the Portlock Porter by Aloha Beer Co. Of course it was thicker, more down-to-earth, a little bitter, with some mild chocolate and coffee flavors. I was most impressed by how unsweet it was, which make the beer much easier to drink. Next up was the Off The Wall Burger. It was THICCC and stacked high. It came with thick hand-cut fries that were delicious and served with a nice, light aioli. On the burger is smoked gouda, bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado that I added. The burgers are cooked to your preferred temperature. I asked for medium-rare and it came out medium well. The flavors worked very well together, but weren't very bold. It was cool. Value: The empanadas that we got would've been $15.00 for the 2 had we not checked in. The wings were $17.00 and you get 6, but they're enormous so they eat more like 10. The burger was $22.00 with the fries. Things were a bit inflated here as far as pricing goes, but it's Hawaii. It just is what it is. Bring the wallet and expect to spend here. In conclusion, I enjoyed myself. I enjoyed everything that I ate, but most things could've been better. Check this place out if you're in the area.

Five stars just for the service (food was good too). I booked online for a large party and they called and made sure we were sat at the correct table. At the venue, everyone had a good time and all of us got our food without issues. The grilled cheese was amazing, the wings were delicious, the calamari fries were exceptional, and the steak sandwich was good. The fries here are insane was well, big wedges but flavorful, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There was live music as well! Perfect place for a group get together!

Wow! I had only known this as beer and wine place but never expected that it has such a great brunch as well! We came here just because next door restaurant was completely full for brunch, but honestly it was as good as our experience at any of the “top notch” brunch places. Our expectation was “average bar food” but they were way beyond! I had the fried burrito and my husband got the grilled cheese sandwich.

I've gone to off the wall a few times individually, and have never had any issues with the food or the service - the vibes are great, food is good, and drinks are surprisingly reasonable. However, I worked with Scott to coordinate a retirement party for a work event and my team and I could not be happier! Scott wad incredibly flexible with us and the guests had an amazing time. Even with some tech issues, Scott was amazing in helping us pivot and he made the retiree feel very welcome. At the end of the event, Scott even kindly boxed up the leftover food into individual containers for me and my team members there with me running the event. I will be coming back as a regular customer for sure, but we will be keeping off the wall on our short list of places for future work events!

Very reasonably priced, cute / welcoming atmosphere location. Did not stay for too long due to schedule, but I’d love to go back to this location and enjoy more. Live DJ played mellow sweet music, which was not overwhelming, and the drinks you get with the price is amazing for the area. Very clean as well

The food was great, we came for oysters and they were delicious. The server/bartender sucks at serving. She was too busy taking shots with the 21 year old kids at the bar, and disregarded the actual tables of customers. All the other customers in the place had to leave tables to get anything like napkins, forks, or checks. Food great, service sub par.
Conrad G — Google review
Bevy is a fun groovy spot with great cocktails, djs and good looking crowd! Good points for improving it its maybe putting window film in the front entrance door and all the windows up top to provide some privacy and cut out all of the bright street lighting coming in and fighting with the inside dark smokey mood. Other then that I recommend this spot for some good fun

Loud but unique DJ mix. Service at the bar was great. The food was good overall. We had topped fries and a cuban. The atmosphere was definitely good, except... for a place designed for gathering and talking, you had to yell to the person next to you. The upside-down (cocktail) was delightful.

What an amazing vibe ! I absolutely loved the jazz and the ambience. It could be an amazing date night but I went for intimate time with my girl friend. I absolutely loved how the menu portions were fairly big and pretty decently priced.
Char — Google review
Nice atmosphere for a date night! Our server was helpful & provided help with recommending cocktails to our taste. The food was delicious! Just small portions for the money. eg: a plate of corn chips with a small salsa was $9, and a single soft taco the size of my palm was $8. Having said that - it was worth the money for the flavour and quality of ingredients! Just don’t come here for food if you’re expecting value over quality.

I love thé drink and the appetizers they have here. Since it’s a drinking spot, they don’t have much foods but the appetizers were really great. The service was also good. There was a live DJ when we were there. So overall it was a great first experience.

Great food. A lot of different options that you don’t normally see anywhere else. Liked the chance to get to try a bunch of small plates. Reminded me of tapas place. The drinks were really good. The waitress was super helpful with picking something I wouldn’t normally get.

Bar 35 is a popular spot in Chinatown and downtown Honolulu, offering a diverse selection of over 200 craft beers from around the world. The bar also serves fusion gourmet pizzas with unique flavors such as smoked salmon, red onions, capers, cream cheese, gorgonzola cheese, imported prosciutto, fresh mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and more.
Way more beer selections than you see anywhere else. And quality beer (Duvel, Chimey, Founder's) and all the local beer (maui, kona, lanai, Aloha, waikiki), and organized by all the varieties (lagers, ipa, sours, stouts, anvers...). My new go-to local chinatown/downtown bar. The food is also awesome! Great selection of flatbreads and pupus! The live music is also a huge plus! And they have private rooms for larger parties!

Music is hit or miss. Dance floor is often happening, sometimes not. No rhyme or reason. Great to have all the scenes in one place: dance floor, outdoor bar, and rooftop lounge. Pretty spot on.

It's been a while since I visited Bar 35. Sat at the bar with friends and had a wonderful time. It has a live entertainer (a singer) tonight and he was awesome! Had the pork belly and Brussels sprouts--both were delish! Will definitely go back more often!

Worst customer service ever. I presented my Drivers License and the door guard kept it asking for another ID. When I asked why he said there was something odd. He then got incredibly aggressive with other patrons saying that we were too close to his butt and he had a hundred things going on right now. Eventually his boss came and said there was no issue with my state issued drivers license. I will never visit this place again with this person working security. Pure incompetence

Managers are incredibly rude and stuck up. I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you want bad service and shitty managers that don’t give a shit about their jobs or employees. Just Horrible people .
A U — Google review
When this bar first opened, it must've had the most expansive beer selection in the state. I still think it boasts a pretty large selection of beers to try. What's more, they have a nice selection of pizzas to snack on while imbibing the various bottles of beer available. The location of the bar is convenient for downtown office workers to grab an after work drink. But, it's a great hangout for those coming into Chinatown as well. The area has improved a bit in the last decade due to the recent gentrification that's been taking place.

Its a dive bar, crowded, limited seating, wasn't a bad place but too small for the amount of people they allow in. I couldn't walk anywhere without a wall of people.

Bar 35 can’t read ids. Brought out his pamphlet book, flashlight, AND his manager and they both couldn’t read my real id. They held my id til cops came. Had to call the cops myself to get the Id I flew to Hawaii with back.

Swell Restaurant and Pool Bar is a vibrant outdoor destination located at Aholani Beach Resort, offering stunning ocean views of Waikiki Beach. During the day, guests can relax in loungers by the infinity pool and savor crafted cocktails while indulging in locally sourced bites. In the evening, the atmosphere transforms with live music from local musicians and DJs, creating a lively ambiance. The bar also serves a selection of dishes featuring fresh seafood.
Stopped by Swell Pool Bar restaurant for lunch today while staying at the hotel — just wanted something easy and relaxing, and it turned out to be a great choice! The food was delicious — the chicken tacos were packed with flavor, the fries were perfectly crispy, and the fried chicken with lemon was a winner. We also tried the passionfruit lemonade, which was refreshing and perfectly balanced definitely a great choice on a warm day! Big shoutout to Emily & Bree, our waitresses, friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Thanks for the great service and warm hospitality! 🍹🌮🍗🍋

Had the worst bar experience for what you are paying to stay here. The bar tender not even making any effort in making the drink and charges 15$ for it. And spend way too much time flirting with some female guest than doing his job. Completely unprofessional. But it is a very beautiful restaurant especially at night and they have live music playing. Tip: buy the premade liquor from ABC store downstairs and fill it up in a bottle. It will taste 100x better and cheaper ! Update: Most of the staff here are actually very professional. It was just one single employee who wasn’t.

I went to pool often during my vacation and Swell pool bar is next to the pool. I love to get delicious drink and hanging out in a hot tube. I wish I could have breakfast at the place, but my schedule was so packed so only think that I tried at the bar was drinks but I actually enjoyed so much. They also have a sunset happy hour for short period of time for Mai tai at $10 I guess this was just seasonal. Bartender and all staff always friendly. I had very good time at the bar.

Great place to eat and drink if your budget stretches this far. We went there in happy hour and still spent quite a lot. However the food and drink are superb. Service was ok, but we were sitting quite far away from the main seating area, so we didn't expect a fawning server anyway. For cocktails we tried - 'Alohalini guava Mai Tai, this was very well made with a great taste. I tried the Swell Hawaii, which had vodka, rum, blue Curacao, pineapple juice, lime, and cane syrup. This was excellent and I'd highly recommend. I also had the Pianola Derby, a whiskey-based cocktail, which was ok, but I've never been one to like whiskey in cocktails, so I wouldn't get again, but others may like it. For food, my partner had the Oahu truffled lobster tacos. These were superb, and would highly recommend. I had the bacon wrapped Kauai shrimp. These were very good as well, but not many shrimps on the plate, so I was left slightly hungry. Overall a great place to eat and drink, we sat overlooking the ocean. But very expensive. Highly recommended!!!
Mike M — Google review
Nice live music selections, but these good prices are above my vacation budget. Funny story, I'm in a group of 4 adults. We ask the server how many shrimp come in the $27 coconut shrimp dish. She said 4 or 5 and the wings are good too, "they both are shareable". It took all we could to not laugh. Enjoy. The atmosphere is the bomb!

It boasts over 350 stores, including upscale department stores like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, as well as budget-friendly options and local boutiques. The center also offers a wide range of dining choices with over 70 restaurants and eateries to explore.
This mall is incredible! There is every store you can imagine and some we never even heard of! There are four (4) floors and it is an open-air mall so you are walking around outside, which is different, but nice. All of the stores we went into were nice and clean. The employees everywhere were very helpful. We went for the Lego store, but we ended up spending hours here after seeing all there was to look at. This is definitely a great way to spend a day. We would visit here again.

Amazing open-air shopping mall in the heart of Honolulu! It’s huge, beautifully designed, and full of tropical plants and ocean breeze. You can find everything here — luxury boutiques, local Hawaiian brands, and great cafés like eBar inside Nordstrom. The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, with both tourists and locals relaxing around. There’s live music, plenty of restaurants, and it’s spotlessly clean. Perfect place to shop, eat, and unwind under the Hawaiian sun.

This mall is huge, over 350 stores! The biggest open air mall of the US!!! They have all the high end designers like LV, Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Giorgio Armani and other popular brands Tory Burch, Lululemon, The North Face, Yeti, Hoka, Sephora, Kate Spade just to name a few. There are plenty of dining options sit down (BDubs, Morton’s Steakhouse, Korean BBQ, Vietnamese, Olive Garden are some), casual (Chick-fil-a, sushi, Jack n the box, Raising Canes…too many to name!) ands snacks n drinks (Auntie Annie’s, Baskin Robbin’s, Starbucks, coffee, bakery’s, shaved ice only to name a few!) This mall is like an outlet, there are 9 levels for parking! Also easily accessible by public transportation, trolleys and ride shares. You definitely need a full day and walking shoes if you wish to scroll this beauty!

Wonderful outdoor mall with super convenient shopping experience and great location only 10 minutes' drive from Waikiki. I can say that the mall has everything we need, plenty of parking and easy access to another floors and stores.

Free parking, variety of shops at different price points, and free daily hula show at 5pm! It's a nice outdoor mall with a weird layout though. They do have all the overpriced bougie stores in the main walkway, but it you go towards the sides you'll find stores with more affordable prices.

Opening hours are 10 am to 8 pm Free parking on 9 floors. Very nice open air mall with 350 stores. Many designers, Bloomingdale’s, macys, Neumann Marcus, target, Nordstrom, foodland, Barnes and noble… Very large and nice food court with lots of choices.
Carine — Google review
After attending the Honolulu Marathon Expo at the Hawaii Convention Centre around the corner, I found my way gravitating towards Ala Moana Centre. As it was dark already, I didn't realise it was an open area shopping centre, I just thought it was dark low level lighting to add to the ambience. This place is massive, so many stores to choose from. It was December when I visited so Christmas was in full swing, including on the Centre Stage with Carols. The Food Court was massive with plenty of choices. Easy to walk as well, a pleasant walk back to Kuhio Avenue from Ala Moana Centre.

Nestled at the base of the Ko'olau Mountains, Haleiwa Joe's Haiku Gardens offers a serene and picturesque setting for both weddings and dining. The venue features beautiful botanical gardens and an open-air Tahitian Chapel, providing dreamy backdrops for intimate ceremonies. Couples can choose from various wedding packages, ranging from minimalist options to comprehensive packages with added services like a ceremony musician and wedding planner.
The food was delicious our party ordered Coconut Shrimp, Prime rib, Steak and Salmon. The service was very good. We had a ten minute wait to be seated. The restaurant opens at 4pm and closes at 9pm. We arrived and got in line at 3:20. There is beautiful view from every table. The garden downstairs is very green with beautiful flowers and trees around it. This area would be lovely for an event.
David R — Google review
We went here at 430 pm on a Friday as a couple and got seated within 30 minutes. Walking in there was a weird smell like years-old mildew under the carpets. It was unbearable. Luckily we got sat on the outside part of the restaurant. The bread and appetizers were good, nothing special though. The crab dip tasted mostly like cream cheese. Both entrees were flavorless. I had the lamb papardelle and the sauce on it was just some oil. I needed a few hefty pinches of salt on top of the dish to get and semblance of flavor out of it. The roasted chicken was juicy at least, but still not an ounce of seasoning, luckily the pineapple and veggies with it had flavor. Finally, the drinks were tasty, but that is because they were mostly mixer/juice/sugar. For as expensive as they were I would expect more alcohol in them. I would save your time, money, and nostrils by going somewhere else.

Haleiwa Joe’s at Haiku Gardens is truly a gem! The food is outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The views overlooking the gardens and mountains are breathtaking, making the whole experience unforgettable. The staff provides excellent customer service, always friendly and attentive, which really adds to the warm atmosphere. The only downside is the wait time for seating, but once you’re in, it’s absolutely worth it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a perfect mix of great food, stunning scenery, and top-notch service!

This place was a gem in the jungle. I went there with a group of 6 on a weeknight. We only waited maybe 30 min before we were seated in a table. In the mean time we were able to get served drinks by a bar top table. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant and was very easy to have a conversation, as it wasn't too loud. I ordered the Ceviche and the table side steak dish with a berry creme brulee desert. The table side steak with gravy smelled and tasted amazing. It was cooked a perfect med-rare per my request. The ceviche was fresh and delicious and the creme brulee had a great flavor with a nice crust. To top it all off the view and the service was top notch. Highly recommend this place.

What an amazing experience. We came early because they don't take reservations. Got here at 3:20 on a Saturday because they open at 4. We were seated in the first group as soon as they opened. Ambience and scenery is amazing! Service top notch and the food was exquisite! I had the pork Loin special and the wife had the grilled blue marlin special. Perfect cook on both. Cocktails were great. I will definitely be back for the prime rib. The price turned me off at $74.95 until I saw it come out. The cut is between 2 and 3 pounds per serving! It was enormous! The restaurant is about a half hour drive from Honolulu, so very pleasant experience all around. Don't sleep on this one!
Alex A — Google review
They don't take reservations, so we had to wait about a half hour to be seated. The service was good, I only say that because the server forgot a couple of items. Maybe that was a good thing since there was so much food. The food came out pretty quick after we ordered. The prime rib is huge. The New York steak with the bourbon finish was flavorful. We were so full after dessert. Will be going again for sure.

This place is an impressive find. The setting is incredible - you can walk around the pond and get some amazing views. I’d recommend checking in first, then taking a stroll through the garden to get some photos while you wait. The food is good, but you’re mainly here for the view and the atmosphere. Drinks were great, appetizers were solid, and the service was top notch. We sat in the bar area, and even with the limited menu, it was exactly what we needed. I heard they’re famous for the Prime Rib—I wasn't hungry enough to tackle it this time, but I’ll definitely be back to try it. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

Really good get away for two! They do not take reservations, so get there early. Food was good and the vibes were there, but we thought live music was a nightly thing. While waiting were able to order drinks to start the night, you can order pupus too. We ordered several dishes and two cocktails, a Porn Star Martini and a Cosmopolitan. I was pleasantly surprised that both the bartender and the waiter knew this cocktail, because in many places in the United States they usually have no idea what a Porn Star Martini is. The drinks were perfectly balanced and beautifully served. The atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy, we chose to sit outside on the terrace, and it was a great choice. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly from start to finish, which really added to the experience. The food itself was fine, not bad at all but also nothing extraordinary. It was an overall good experience, not wow but definitely enjoyable. I would say it is a nice place for dinner and cocktails with friends if you want a relaxed evening and a lively atmosphere.

She had the perfect balance of professionalism and personality, making us feel comfortable without being overbearing. Our drinks were always refilled before we even had to ask, and she checked in at just the right moments. What stood out most was her positive energy. She clearly enjoys what she does, and it shows. My husband and I loved Buho Cocina y Cantina so much we went twice just for the birria tacos! They were absolutely delicious — flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Nestled on a quaint, bustling lane near Ala Moana Center, Side Street Inn is the ultimate casual hangout for those craving American comfort food with a local twist. I love Side Street Inn for its delicious food, happy, attentive customer service, and valet parking service, which is so convenient! All the dishes we ordered were fast, generous, and yummy. Our waitress is a great young Chinese girl who brought a more joyful dinner to our table. She is lovely and very attentive. Tasty dinner with great portions! It’s definitely meant to be family style but we ordered one meal for everyone and had a bunch of leftovers. Okay okay, I know I drop a lot of food reviews, but this right here? Not for the weak. If you get one solid appetite and you’re a foodie like me, then brother/sister/uncle/auntie/grandma/grandpa — you found the spot. The grinds? Immaculate. The portion size? Polynesian approved. The quality? You can literally taste the love the chefs put into their cooking. I still haven’t sat down to eat inside (’cause I’m guilty of binging movies while smashing food), but every time I’ve gone in to order, the vibe is on point. They got a bar, music (sometimes even live from some awesome local artists), a pool table, and a generous space that feels like home. The employees? 100% guarantee they love what they do, and it shows. So if you come through Side Street Inn, come hungry — and don’t be stingy, tip the crew. They deserve it, and you’ll walk out happy every single time.

Took my hungry family to dinner at Side Street Inn Kapahulu. It was our 1st time and we ordered several dishes. Loved the family style service with large portions. Some friends recommended this place. It was a good value. We had the chefs special for 3-4 people. We ordered o e extra entree. Our group was 7 adults and one toddler. We had leftovers. Salad was very good. Edamame also good. Fried rice, noodles, ribs, chops, and beef were awesome. We will return when we are entertaining a group. Good value.

When they say family style, they mean it! We got the Uncle Colin’s special and couldn’t even finish half of it with four people I had a peanut butter crunch to go and I’ve been thinking about going back soon just to get another one. Servers were attentive and bartenders know what they are doing!
Renee E — Google review
Overall, our experience was just underwhelming. The food was just average at best. The quality definitely is mediocre. Pork chops were dry. Boneless Kalbi was tasty, but many of the pieces were tough and burnt. Garlic Chicken. The best dish of the night. Crunchy on the outside and moist and juicy inside. Full flavor. Chicken salad flavor was good, but chicken pieces were dry and hard.

A Five-Star Celebration at StripSteak Waikiki My family and I recently celebrated my daughter's birthday at StripSteak Waikiki, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was a perfect blend of sophisticated and welcoming. The restaurant has a vibrant energy without being too loud, making it ideal for a special occasion. The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish was prepared to perfection, from the appetizers to the main courses. The steaks were cooked exactly as requested, and the quality was top-notch. It was truly a meal that we will be talking about for a long time. What really stood out, however, was the service. Our server was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Upscale Steakhouse Experience with Impeccable Service! Had an exceptional dining experience at this upscale steakhouse, and I'm still raving about it! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch – attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Our server was fantastic, guiding us through the menu and making excellent recommendations. *The Food:* - *Wagyu Seared on Hot Stone*: ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! The Wagyu steak was cooked to perfection, and the addition of yuzu paste took it to a whole new level. The hot stone presentation added a nice touch. - *French Fries*: Oh. My. God. The fries were CRISPY on the outside, SOFT on the inside, and the sauces were a game-changer. I could've made a meal out of just the fries and sauces! -*Caesar salad”: it was done with excellence. I would call it wedge salad since you must use your stake knife to cut the leaves. I quite enjoyed such a different way of eating the salad. -*Beef tartare*: you must have it was fresh, delicious with the toasted bread. -*Sea bass* - the star of the show. Must try! Delicious and decadent flavor of the sea-bass and sauce it was like fireworks of taste buds and pleasures of the tastes. My friend who loves meat, said it was better than the wagyu steak. Desserts: Pineapple flambé The presentation was STUNNING – a true "wow" factor. However, the taste was a bit bland for my liking. Perhaps a bit more flavor or a different dessert option might elevate it to perfection. *Ambiance:* The upscale atmosphere and décor made us feel like we were in a high-end restaurant. A great change of pace from the beach bars and casual eats. *Overall:* If you're looking for a fancy night out with great service and top-quality food, this steakhouse is a MUST-VISIT. Be sure to order the Wagyu steak and those incredible French fries! We'll definitely be back. *Recommendations:* - Try the Wagyu steak with yuzu paste – trust us, it's worth it! - Order a side of those amazing French fries – you won't regret it! - Consider visiting for a special occasion or date night – the ambiance is perfect for it. Can't wait to come back and try more of their menu!

This restaurant has a lively atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between energy and comfort. The ambiance feels upscale and refined, yet never pretentious or overwhelming. The service was attentive without being intrusive — the staff checked in at just the right moments and were always accommodating to any requests. The jadoori chicken was especially good — flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The wagyu could’ve been better, but the oysters were fresh and delicious, and the drinks were decent and well-balanced. Overall, it’s a high-end dining experience that doesn’t feel pushy — just warm, polished, and enjoyable from start to finish.

We stopped in at the bar for the tasting menu during happy hour. The food was amazing! Service was great! And the drinks were fabulous! Absolutely recommend eating here while in the city!

I ordered the filet medium-rare. It came back to the table clearly overcooked. The outsides were like leather. I showed it to the manager on duty who took it from the table. Didn't even make it to the kitchen came back and told me to cut it in the middle. So he could see it. And when I did, it was clearly overcooked and he said, well, I can go put it back on the grill. If you want and I said, but it's overcooked and he made such a big deal and everybody was staring, we had a party of 9. I decided I didn't want the attention. So I tried to send it back, but the manager refused to make me another steak. Another guest seated next to me at my table ordered the sea bass. It came in a bowl with a big chip in the bowl. She was concerned that the chip might be in her food. So she sent it back all they did was put the food in another bowl. So the chip could have still been in her food very, very unprofessional. I was surprised to see that. But there was a michelin chef at that restaurant. When I got home and looked it up. I didn't pay eighty one dollars for a piece of meat that I could only eat.Half of. What's more disappointing is the manager refused to recook my.Steak and tried to tell me that I was wrong. Not a good look

The Original Roy's in Hawaii Kai is a culinary gem that showcases the passion of renowned chef Roy Yamaguchi for Hawaiian fusion cuisine. Nestled along the picturesque Maunalua Bay, this vibrant restaurant has been delighting diners for over 25 years with its contemporary ambiance and stunning views. Drawing inspiration from his childhood experiences in Maui, Chef Yamaguchi combines fresh local ingredients with bold Asian spices and European sauces to create an unforgettable dining experience.
My wife and I had an unforgettable dinner at The Original Roy’s in Hawaii Kai during our honeymoon, and it was truly a highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—special thanks to Scotty and the manager for making us feel so welcomed. They even treated us to champagne and panna cotta on the house, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. We tried the wood-smoked Szechuan-style baby back pork ribs, the Misoyaki Butterfish, and a perfectly cooked whole red snapper—every dish was bursting with flavor. To top it all off, we ended the night with Roy’s signature chocolate soufflé, which was absolutely divine. This meal was more than just dinner—it was an experience. Highly recommended for any occasion or a memorable night out in Honolulu.

We came to celebrate an anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The food was good but expensive—quality and price were commensurate—but the service exceeded all expectations. Our server, Keola, was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. It was evident that this team cares about its patrons, and we will definitely be returning.

Roy's never disappoints. We come here sporadically when we have a little extra moolah to treat ourselves, mostly for celebrations. With that said, every experience is always special. The food & service( nice to see Scott, the manager, making the rounds making sure everyone is happy)the atmosphere, always feeling special and fantastic. We're currently enjoying their prix fix "Japanese" theme menu!! Value for your money. Also excited about the happy hour menu!

Our anniversary dinner at the original Roy's in Hawai'i was really special. The vibe was moody, and I especially loved the koi pond when you entered the restaurant. When we arrived at our table, we were greeted with a nice anniversary note. Our server, Luke, was awesome--he knew the menu inside out and shared some of his favorites, which was really helpful. The server brought out complimentary edamame; they tasted good but were a bit cold. We began with ordering cocktails. My husband went with the Roy's Old Fashioned, and I had a Lychee Sake-tini. Both drinks were really tasty. For dinner, we shared the Hawaii Kai's Prix Fixe and added the spicy golden wave roll and Chinatown Chicken Spring Rolls as first bites. Honestly, the food was just okay except for the Ube cream brûlée and the Pumpkin spice cake which were really good. At the end of the night, the restaurant gifted us a $20 gift certificate, which was a nice touch! Even though the food was not as good as we would have liked, the service was top-notch!

Ok, took me 2 days to recover from the culinary experience of dining at Roy’s HI Kai & write this review! From reservation making to leaving, it was so aloha-fabulous! Almost don’t want to leave a great review or I might not get my next reservation time! Can’t say enough about their GM Brandon. Kind, attentive, hospitable, detail-focused servant, full of aloha. We could tell that his staff also respect & work hard for him. Our primary server was also Brandon 😂 which made it easy & Kailani & crew also graciously offered service extraordinaire & never said “I don’t know” but always smiled with a “sure, I can help with that!” Happy Hour pupu menu - ordered 5 items! Yikes! The sushi tempura was so good we ordered twice. Cocktails & wine accompaniment reasonably priced & high quality. Lucked out with a Sakura price fixe menu for two! that was sooo yummy & so well priced that I can’t tell you or for sure I won’t get a reservation. Mainly though, we can get great food in many places but their heart of aloha & beyond the call service made it a night to remember. Will be back for their local Hawaiian music night too. Mahalo to all! ❤️

Roys in Hawaii Kai is a truly unforgettable dining experience! The outdoor seating gave us a gorgeous view of a breathtaking sunset. We started with the sampler pupu platter, which was a delicious way to enjoy a variety of flavors. Highly recommend! We found the servings to be generous and didn’t end up ordering entrées, so I guess we’ll have to come back to try those another time. The highlight for me was the banana bread pudding dessert. It was pure melt-in-your-mouth goodness. We also appreciate that they serve nonalcoholic beer. What really made the night extra special was the outstanding service from our server, Luke. Luke was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. His recommendations were spot-on. If you’re looking for amazing food, stunning views, and top-notch service, Roys in Hawaii Kai is a must! We look forward to coming back soon!

Hit up The Original Roy's in Hawaii for a night out, and wow, what a spot! The vibe is laid-back but fancy, with awesome views of Maunalua Bay. Got a table outside, and it was perfect for chilling and taking in the scenery. I ordered the ribeye, and let me tell you, it was next-level juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Easily one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while.

Exceptional service! We went to Roy's for our wedding dinner and had a wonderful time. From our hostess to our food runner everyone was so professional and courteous. Our waiter was exceptional, he was knowledgeable of the menu items and enthusiastic about the specials. Very attentive and really top notch. We had my granddaughter who is a toddler with us, and right away he brought us a mini crudite plate for her to nibble on(after checking for allergies of course). Very thoughtful. Our drinks were well thought out and delicious. We were served an amuse-bouche of edamame beans in slightly spicy deliciously seasoned pods. One member of our party had the flat iron "seared shrimp" and they were really just poached and served in a nice creamy sauce but no sear at all which was disappointing. The canoe trio was very good. The Korean ribs in particular have a very nice flavor. Entrée selections included the short ribs which were fantastic, as well as the truffle risotto, creamy and plenty of truffle flavor. The Cajun inspired slow roasted pork dish was fork tender and bursting with flavor. I ordered the "diver scallops". This title implies that they are harvested daily, also referred to as 'day boat scallops'. This type of scallop has a firm dry texture and tastes of fresh seawater. In all fairness to anyone who knows the difference, these are not them. Although these scallops were browned perfectly and presented nicely, my scallops were not the fresh dry scallops the menu implies. They had a soapy taste and a soft, almost mushy texture. Inedible if you have ever had fresh day boat scallops. On a positive note, I spoke to one of the managers, Jason and he said he would speak to the executive chef and their seafood purveyor. Unsolicited, our server brought a nice ice cream cookie sandwich for my granddaughter. Whether this was noise control or just protocol, it worked. Dessert was phenomenal! We had the pineapple upside down cake. Absolutely delicious. The lava cake is over the top decadent chocolate flavor. Save room for this one! The chef also sent over a congratulatory desert. All around, what a great experience. With the ambience, the thoughtful staff and the menu, this is a must visit.

Eating House 1849 at Waikiki's International Market Place is a culinary gem created by renowned chef Roy Yamaguchi. The restaurant offers a unique fusion of traditional plantation flavors with modern twists, reflecting the rich history and culture of the islands. Inspired by Portuguese, Spanish, and Filipino influences, the menu features innovative dishes like Plantation Style Paella Rice Stew and Pork and Crab Pillow Dumplings.
I can confidently say this is my absolute favorite restaurant! On my last visit, I ordered the Build Your Own Local Catch Dish with Yellowtail Amberjack and pancit — every bite was perfection. The fish was fresh, perfectly cooked, and paired beautifully with the flavorful pancit. The balance of textures and flavors was so spot-on it made me slow down just to savor it. Of course, no visit here is complete without dessert, and I always get the chocolate soufflé. It’s rich, airy, and decadent — the kind of dessert that makes you pause, close your eyes, and just appreciate life for a moment. From the impeccable food to the warm, inviting atmosphere, this place never disappoints. If I could give it more than five stars, I would!

Let me start with a confession: I'm not a big kale fan. I've on occasions, dutifully gnawed through it post-gym while questioning both my life choices and the meaning of joy. But my brother loves kale and asked if I would share a kale salad, with him. After a couple glasses of wine, I'm pretty agreeable to most things except giving up wine. Then snap... that was like not just one of the best kale salads I've ever had but one of the tastiest salads ever! The kale itself was moist, tender yet firm and didn't have the usual cardboard flavor and texture. The papaya seed dressing was bright and tangy, but the real star was the crispy garlic chips -- earthy, toasty flavor bombs that added a wonderful crunchy texture to the salad. The oysters from Washington were plump and meaty, with that briny ocean essence followed by a milky, rich finish. They came with a couple of side sauces but I'm a purist when it comes to oysters. Just give me a lemon wedge and a dash of tobacco. The Kampachi Crudo- Thin, silky slices of fish, cut to a nice thickness that gave a wonderful chew, with a hint of citrus and a light touch of truffle yaki. It was fresh and refreshing , clean, and flavorful -- simple but memorable. Love it when a chef resists the urge to smother the dish -- just some tasty support and let the fish do the rest. For the main, we shared the butterfish kamameshi. The fish was slightly overcooked -- a little firmer and dryer than I'd prefer -- but the flavor was there. The seasoned furikake rice underneath almost stole the spotlight. Layered with flavors and cooked perfectly . The vegetables including daikon added texture, and those crispy bits of rice at the bottom of the cast iron pot? Total food gold. The Service : My brother and I sat at the bar -- always my first choice, and after more than a decade behind one, still where I feel most at home. The service is faster , the energy more dialed up . At the bar, the world comes at you with the good, the bad, and the downright messy. You learn to duck and weave, toast and cheer, and take it all in--one slurp of wine at a time. It's like having a seat at the chef's table, but instead of watching tweezers and foam, you hear the shaking of martinis and the stirring of spirits. And even now, from the other side of the rail, it still feels like the best seat in the house for me. And don't get me started about the people watching. Huge shoutout to Sasha, our bartender for the night. She was handling drinks for the entire dining room, yet still made us feel like honored guests in her little corner of the chaos. Always checking in on us with a warm smile. It resuscitated old muscle memory from my own nights in the trenches. Respect Sasha!! The Atmosphere: Beautiful and comfortable interior with a laid back elegance. A blend of modern and Hawai'i plantation. Elegant enough for a date night yet casual enough for shorts and slippers. A guitar player with a Fender Strat skillfully filled the empty spaces between conversations . Will definitely be back! Happy Eating!!

Place is vibrant and has pastries ready to buy if you want to grab something and go. Prices a very fair especially because of location. Place was very clean bright light and shiny walls and glass. Super clean and our server was cool the busser Diego was very helpful throughout the night definitely can be a server. Paella seafood is what I ordered. Real strong with tomato flavor and not much more flavor than that. Coconut creme brulee was decent. The upside down pineapple was the best thing I had from all the entress, appetizers and desserts.

Two weeks on the islands and this was by far the best meal we had! Very good service and phenomenal chefs. Subtle sauces with depths of flavors. Fish cooked perfectly. While everything was excellent, the unique Caesar salad was the best I ever had! Complex, citrus, umami… wow. Thanks for a nice evening. Not the type of meal you’d expect to get in a shopping mall.

If you're a foodie, but also have little kids, I can't recommend Eating House 1849 at the Internatinal Market enough. It is so hard to find a restaurant of this quality, with food this good, that feels acceptable to bring small children to. From the very beginning, everyone was welcoming to out 1 and 3 year old. They even have a 3 course kids meal with starter quesadillas, and entree, and a dessert ice cream sandwich. The fresh catch was a hit for our Littles. For the adults, we had poke, ramen, and a filet mignon that was to die for. The unique blend of European and Hawaiian cuisine is something we always love about Roy's restaurants and this was a trjlly stellar experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at 53 By The Sea in Hawaii on September 27th to celebrate a birthday. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant presented itself as an establishment of exceptional quality. The service was a highlight; the staff were warm in their greeting and commendably prompt and attentive to our table and other guests. The culinary experience was equally superb. Every dish we ordered was fantastic, prepared and presented to a high standard, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the pricing to be quite reasonable given the quality and location. However, the evening took an unfortunate turn due to circumstances outside of the restaurant's direct control, which significantly impacted our overall experience. We were seated on the patio, an initially tranquil setting perfect for a celebration, where the quiet ambiance was shared respectfully by the only other couple present. Regrettably, the arrival of a large group of five women completely disrupted this peaceful atmosphere. Their excessively loud and boisterous behavior—including constant movement for photos and generally disruptive conduct—was highly distracting and ultimately ruined the quiet, intimate setting we had sought out. While I understand that restaurants cannot perfectly control every guest's behavior, I believe a venue of this caliber, especially in a quieter section like the patio, should strive to maintain a certain level of decorum. It was deeply disappointing to have an otherwise perfect, special occasion marred by such an extreme lack of consideration from fellow diners. In summary, 53 By The Sea is an exceptional restaurant based on its phenomenal food, attentive service, and beautiful setting. My humble hope is that management may consider ways to gently intervene when the behavior of a small group so negatively affects the experience of others, especially in designated quiet areas. Despite the unfortunate ending, the quality of the dining experience itself makes it a place I would consider revisiting.

Had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday at 53 by the Sea which was a lovely way to enjoy my evening. Elegant restaurant with stunning views of the city to appreciate day and night. Valet services are provided with no additional fee. As for the restaurant, every staff member is warm and inviting so enhance your experience. Our server Tony was superb with his service and we could tell he was having a busy night with all the tables he was serving; did not stop him from checking on us in a timely fashion. We opted with the tasting menu and wine pairing, had a cocktail to start and it was immaculate. Each dish was delicious with gorgeous plating, keep in mind some items were a bit smaller in portion than we had read on the menu, specifically the lamb. Overall a great option for a tasty meal and experience.

Elegant atmosphere, good food, and a memorable dining experience from start to finish. We came for my wife’s birthday and tried the tasting menu. Highlights included the beautifully plated lamb chop, flavorful ravioli with crispy pork belly, and the delicate seared fish over romesco and greens. Every course was presented with care and the cocktails were just as impressive, especially the bae watch and the perfectly balanced knob cook old fashioned. The service was very good, although the food was not quite flawless, which is the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars across the board. That said, the overall experience was absolutely worth it. Nice ambiance, waterfront views, and a great meal. I recommend if you’re looking for a high-end dinner spot in Honolulu.

I was quite excited about this restaurant. Walking through the doors and seeing the ambiance and beauty of the restaurant and the attention of the staff even had me more excited. The presentation of the food was really nice but the food was blahhh. Just no seasoning. The Crocketts were had the most flavor. The filet was tender and the sauce helped but still lacked simple seasoning. The most disappointing was the seafood carpachio, absolutely no flavor. The shrimp was extremely overcooked. The food not worth how it is priced.

My family and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary by visiting the restaurant we'd been most excited about during our trip to Hawaii. The restaurant was quite noisy the day we visited due to a banquet. We asked the staff and they directed us to a beautiful, quiet outdoor seating area, where we could fully enjoy our meal. Everything from drinks to appetizers, main courses, and desserts were absolutely delicious. The staff's warm service and bright smiles made it the highlight of our trip to Hawaii. If you're looking for a beautiful Waikiki sunset and a meal, this is the place! I'd like to express my gratitude to 53by the sea through this review :)

An Unforgettable Farewell Dinner at 53 By The Sea Our recent visit to 53 By The Sea for our last night on a girls' trip was an absolutely exquisite experience, providing the perfect culmination to our getaway. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant exuded an air of grandeur and sophistication. The architecture is truly remarkable, featuring impressive, oversized doors that lead into a magnificent space. The grand staircase is a focal point, practically inviting guests to pause for a memorable photograph. The dining room itself is stunning, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed watching both fishermen and surfers, adding a dynamic and picturesque backdrop to our meal. The staff at 53 By The Sea were exceptional, greeting us with warmth and professionalism the moment we stepped inside. Our server, Devon, was particularly outstanding. His extensive knowledge of both the culinary offerings and the comprehensive wine list was truly impressive. Speaking of which, the wine list is a true highlight—an expansive collection featuring selections from around the globe that will undoubtedly delight any wine enthusiast. We opted for the tasting menu with the wine pairing, a decision we did not regret. The quality of the cuisine is on par with some of the world's most renowned establishments, drawing comparisons to the likes of The French Laundry or Joël Robuchon. Each course was a masterclass in flavor and presentation; the dishes were impeccably crafted, and the sauces were absolute perfection, creating a truly beautiful and memorable meal. 53 By The Sea offers an unparalleled dining experience, making it an ideal choice for special occasions or simply a luxurious evening out.

When picked up the menu, you glanced thru everything and you think you know what to expect and you would be surprised. I did. I thought it's just fried fish and I was surprised. I thought I ordered shaved ice and I was surprised. I thought I ordered crab cakes and expected like what crab cakes like out there and once again, I was surprised. Crab cakes - I ordered the crab cakes, and it was excellent. It's not like those usual crab cakes where it filled with battered and have more starch than crab meat. This one is all crab meat inside. My wife ended up ate 2/3 of them. Mochi salad with crispy chicken skin - I don't like salad but I thought I tried. The end result was I finished 70% of the salad because it was delectable. The dressing was spicy, but the persimmon sliced and the tomatoes with the greens were just perfect. I never thought I could like a salad that much. Short ribs - The meat fell off the bone... Well, there was no bone but it's definitely tender. Potatoes were nicely crisp and the foie gras was nicely seared. Mochi crusted kampachi - Surprisingly crunchy fish. Very fresh. This is one fine dine dish. Impressive. Strawberry shaved ice - It's not really shaved ice, it's more like shaved strawberries and the coconut tapioca was very good. So coconut-y. This is one satisfied fine dine experience. Very impressed that you find something with this quality in Hawai'i.

Note: I am reviewing this as a fine dining restaurant, relative to other fine dining restaurants I have been to. Compared to a normal restaurant, this is certainly a 5 star experience. I went in for the tasting menu at open, and had a reservation for the bar. The location is kinda weird, being right next to auto dealerships. I hope that the savings from location rent are passed onto the consumer. I did the 5 course tasting menu; however, I forgot to take a picture of the tenderlion. They accommodated my shellfish allergy, and did a substitution which I appreciated. The food was excellent, certainly showed off the quality of the chefs and was on par with what I expect from chefs claiming experience at the French Laundry. My only complaint on the food was with the first course, which was a soft boiled egg with caviar and wasabi. At the end it just became too eggy, I wish there was more depth of flavor. I got the wine pairing, which I would not recommend for others to get. The wine was fine, and I assume being on Oahu it's not as easy to get the quality wine I am used to in places like California. The cocktail menu seemed good, and the other patrons were enjoying them. So I would use the money on the wine pairing to get 2 or 3 cocktails instead. Overall. Great food, certainly a good option for a celebration or just enjoying fine dining in Honolulu. The chefs clearly know what they are doing and I wish them success in their future endeavors!

Located inside a car dealership, this was my first time dining among millions of dollars worth of brand new sports cars. And it was a lovely experience of elevated local flavors in a fine dining establishment. I did the chef's tasting menu, and every course was delicious. My favorite was the opening appetizer, which contained caviar and egg. Their main specialty was the mochi kanpachi, and I really enjoyed it too! For cocktails, I had the Georgia O'Keefe and asked why it was named after a haole woman. Nomenclature wise, their other cocktail Lychee Hoo was actually a play on local culture, which made more sense. The staff asked around for me, but no one knew why. "Just use your imagination", the bartender said. "Like Georgia O'Keefe did." I had so much fun at MW.

Been to many restaurants on Oahu over the last 8 years, and this one takes the cake! Menu is unique and comprehensive — there’s something for everyone — and the execution was flawless. Ordered 4 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, and 2 drinks, and every one of them hit the mark. Our favs were the dumplings, inari bombs, and the tenderloin! Our waiter Tyler was so attentive and gave us just the right amount of space. We’ll be back in no time!

Restaurant
Moku Kitchen is a trendy and creative eatery located in the popular Salt at Kakaako complex. This urban restaurant and bar offers modern American cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients, as well as a variety of cocktails and live music. The 46-foot bar features an impressive selection of 36 craft beers and a unique keg wine system offering 12 biodynamic and sustainable wines on tap.
I ordered the house made ginger beer for my drink and roasted vegetables as my meal, plus I added chicken to it. Ginger beer was ok. They said they add cayenne pepper to it, which was exciting to me. I tasted all of the ingredients in the drink, but the ginger taste was very minimal. The roasted vegetables were SCRUMPTIOUS! I added chicken and that was delicious as well. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Not overly salty, which I loved. Nice size portions. The leftovers the next day we're even better. I highly recommend that dish. I've been salivating and talking about it for a week now. I can hardly wait to go back and order it again. My friends ordered the smash burger and fries and the fish tacos. They all said their dish was seasoned well and had great flavor. My friends also highly recommended the monkeypod mai tai. The server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was crowded and loud with everyone chatting, but still worth it. We parked in the garage around the corner. The restaurant validated and we had to pay about $6 to park. There was a small stage in the back of the restaurant where they have live music. I will most definitely return.

Maybe the best tacos I have ever had. With batter and huge pieces of fish. The sauce is a little spicy but not too spicy. And a great basket of truffle fries, crunchy and soft in the middle. Service at the bar was great and the place has a nice low key vibe. Located on Ala Moana and Keawe Street in a block full of restaurants, bars and shops. Very cool.

Loved everything about the restaurant! Every employee we came across was SO PLEASANT. Opening the door, a smile, a hello, a thank you! Bonnie, Casandra and 1 more employee I forgot her name.. customer service was 110% food was an A+ I would highly recommend this place !! You all should definitely try MOKU! Also their personal touch of a homemade birthday card! That was special!

Okay, this is my go-to spot for fresh, flavorful food in Kakaʻako! I’ll be honest… the last few times I went, I was a little disappointed because the portions felt smaller and my order came out incomplete until I reminded them. But THIS last visit? Hands down the best I’ve ever had at Moku! The portions were generous, the food came out hot and delicious, and the service was next-level! I got the rotisserie veggie plate with shrimp which was grilled, fresh, flavorful, and totally worth the price. Also got the house made ginger beer which wasn’t too sweet and definitely packed a spicy punch! But the real star? Caroline, my server! She was incredible - friendly, upbeat, so attentive, and seriously knows the menu inside and out. I have multiple food intolerances and she made sure everything was safe for me, double and triple-checking with the kitchen. It’s rare to feel that taken care of! Give Caroline a raise or make her the gold standard because she completely elevated my Moku experience and restored my hope! If you haven’t been in a while, GO. They’re back and better than ever!

Ok, so sorry but the food we had in Honolulu was not the best, and we went to several places. Food is really bland not much flavor. Then on our last day we found this place, the vibes were great everyone was so friendly. Then came the food it was delicious and full of flavor. Highly recommend this place. The steak was cooked perfectly!

This place was 10/10, they had the best ahi tacos and their crème burlee was also very tasty. I would 💯 recommend this place , the service was also very good. Their pizza was decent , but they have so many other better fine tune curated dishes that are worth trying

Moku was a true highlight of our Hawaiian vacation; seriously the best food, and drink, of the entire week! We went during happy hour and it was AMAZING! All the appetizers were half off during HH making them an incredible deal! We tried 8 things off the HH menu, and fell ridiculously in love with every item! The Ahi Poke tacos were easily the best I've ever had, anywhere. The Moku Mai Tai was $9, definitely the cheapest you'll find in Waikiki!, and was also the absolute best on the island; that passionfruit foam was to die for! If I lived in Hawaii, rest assured I'd be a regular here! Go, you won't be disappointed!

FOOD 3.5 An eclectic mix of pastas, pizzas, and Asian fusion dishes. We ordered bulgogi sliders, French fries, fettucine with tomato and basil, margherita pizza and ice cream sandwiches. All fairly decent with no issues. SERVICE 4.5 Server was very attentive and accommodating. Other staff were also very attentive and warm. ATMOSPHERE 4 Typical noisy brewpub atmosphere with plenty of service staff. OVERALL 4 I would go back for sure. Make sure you register your license plate to receive parking validation.

Mai Tai Bar is a vibrant beachfront spot located at the Royal Hawaiian, offering an array of umbrella cocktails, appetizers, and live music. It's a festive and slick setting where you can enjoy the tropical vibes just steps away from the sand. The bar provides a perfect opportunity to savor fruity drinks while soaking in the stunning sunset views over the ocean.
What a beautiful outdoor restaurant located within the Royal Hawaiian hotel, right in front of the beach. This was where the first Mai Tai was created, so I had to order one! The food and service overall were fantastic, and the setting is unbelievable. We couldn't recommend this establishment highly enough. We had a great experience. If you are in the area, go here!

The Mai Tais here are the best in town! Superbly mixed and really strong. One time for the trip is never enough so we came back again. Ask the servers for food recommendations. It really goes well with the drinks. Gets crowded almost all times of the day.

This place is hopping at night! There are great views, friendly staff, and everything is lit up and decorated pink. The drinks were delicious and there’s service bar food options were fun. We enjoyed listening to the music and taking in the views.

Great drinks, one each was enough to start us getting tipsy. Amazing truffle fries! And a beautiful view of the beach with a glimpse of Luau happening on the side. Perfect start to your Hawaiian holiday! 🌺

This place was awesome! Some of the best drinks and desserts on the islands. We went here multiple times during our honeymoon it was so fun to order fries and drinks while sitting on the beach. The service was the best in town

If you're looking for the original Mai Tai, you've found it here. We arrived just as they were opening at 11. Our server didn't come to the table for a good 15 minutes, actually after one of us went to the bar to order our drinks. The drinks were excellent. The views are stellar.
Larry H — Google review
The Royal Hawaiian's Mai Tai bar could use a shake up. The mai tai drink we received was not strong and way too sweet, the menu I thought was bland, and the general seating/vibes setup boring. For a namesake of the famous drink and a mainstay for the hotel, this bar should be more remarkable. 3/5.
Jeremy Y — Google review
Great brows of the water and an endless breeze make this patio bar ideal to relax and catch great views. Kui, our bartender made great drinks and conversation. The cocktails are what to be expected in a high end hotel ( starting at $20.00) but you just can't beat the atmosphere. If you can't find a seat at the bar there are covered tables.

Hideout is a small coffee bar located at The Laylow Hotel that features an urban oasis with a hipster vibe. It is a popular venue for brunch and for live music.
Went out in the afternoon for happy hour. The prices weren’t so happy, but the food was absolutely good! My friends and I shared tacos, egg rolls, dumplings, and fried chicken. We all really liked it. The crew was really nice too. 10/10 afternoon.

I was a little nervous when we got there and I saw the menu. Thinking no one would find anything they like besides a hamburger not no one wanted that at a nicer restaurant. My husband is a meat and potato guy with spice. He talked to the waiter and the waiter suggested what he would like and he was spot on with Kuhio bowl. My kids shared the Thai noodles and chicken and I did the crispy pork belly. Everything tasted really good. The only complaint was how slow the service was. Waiter was great but overwhelmed. Just plan on 20-25 minutes for each drink so order about halfway through your drink.
Brittany — Google review
The food at The Hideout was absolutely amazing, one of the best meals I’ve had in Waikiki! The atmosphere is also beautiful, really relaxing and scenic, which made the dining experience feel special. That said, the service wasn’t great. Our server didn’t check in on us, wasn’t very attentive, and even came across a bit sassy. It felt like we were left on our own once the food hit the table. Still, the food was so good that I would come back just for that alone. If the service matched the quality of the food and atmosphere, this place would easily be five stars.

Absolute best happy hour spot! We went at 3:15 pm on a Saturday and got a great table right away! The fries, club sandwich and egg roles were delicious. You could tell that dinner service was going to be packed but the wait staff was very accommodating & never rushed us to finish. You pay a little more than normal considering it’s a hotel property but I see why the reviews are so good!!

Shokudo Japanese Restaurant & Bar is a trendy spot in Honolulu that offers a fusion of Japanese cuisine and cocktails in a modern setting. One of its standout desserts is the famous honey toast, made with Japanese white toast, honey, vanilla ice cream, and various toppings like chocolate, caramel, or strawberry puree. Located near Ala Moana Center, this award-winning restaurant is known for its friendly service and validated parking.
They still got it with the honey toast. The service is friendly from everyone we interacted with. We had a new server so the service was a bit slower. We stopped in just for the honest toast and it was worth it. They have validated parking in the back as well.

I had high expectations from this place; The photographs show a reputable restaurant, but it turned out to be more like a diner. The interior is old and unattractive, the toilet is in terrible condition. The food was disappointing. Despite the small number of guests, the waiters seemed overworked, forgetting to bring us food on time and generally neglecting to serve tea, to top it off they added it to the bill which was a bummer. I will not be back.
Zhana — Google review
Every once in a while we come here especially when Kawaii-Kon comes around as a somewhat tradition among friends and family during Kon, we most of the time 9 times out of 10, we come here for the prized dessert of all time, Honey Toast. ♡ But the menu tends to change from what I can tell because they use a QR Code for their menu... which to me, I find that to be very inconvenient, because it takes some people several tries to load it or download it depending on how well their technological devices work. And even for elderly who may not understand how to use technology... there should be a physical menu option available. But that's just my opinion. The food is great, the service is good, and this is a nice location to treat yourself at every once in a while
Charmie R — Google review
The place is still the same as it was before at its old location. However. The new location feels smaller and more cramped and it is not as nice as the old location. With the new location gone is the mixed drinks. This was a shame since some people in my party really wanted one of the mixed drinks. The food was still really good. Tons of variety for those that love meat or love seafood. The service was decent. Not the best but not the worst. The pricing is still the same. A little on the pricey side. 90 for two and 40 easily for one. They still got their famous honey toast in a variety of flavors for those that love this dessert. I suggest if you want a casual feel for your date or party. UPDATE: Please go before 6pm since the dinner rush occurs then. I did go back for a friend who has not gone before. It was much more pleasant when going before dinner because we were on the side with much more lighting and more attention from the servers. It was a much more better experience.

Took my friend here for her birthday. Everything was great. The waiter gave us a great recommendation for saki. The sushi were tasty. The mandoo was crispy and tasty too. The Honey toast is decent just for pics 5/2023 took my date here and they substituted our entree well with no problems. Everything was great. Put in your reservations a week prior. We were seated immediately.

Returned to Shokudo after a long hiatus and happy to see that the food & service are still top notch! Known for their Honey Toast & fresh seafood offerings with a casual, welcoming atmosphere Shokudo restaurant does not disappoint. At my last visit our group was greeted at the front and seated almost immediately. Our server April was very sweet and while admitting that she was new, she already had some favorite items on the menu, the Homemade Tofu Salad & Red Eye Roll. We ordered both as well as a few other dishes on the menu. Both of her suggestions were fantastic! The tofu salad is not only delicious, it's also huge and was great to share for our party of three. The service was very attentive, April as well as another server, Alex, answered our questions on some unfamiliar items. Even though April didn't know the entire menu yet, she was happy to check with senior staff and came back with answers and a beaming smile :D When our meal was winding down one of the managers, Karlo, stopped by and suggested the famous Honey Toast for dessert. He joked that some meals both begin and end with Honey Toast, suffice to say, we were sold. I was especially happy to see that it was available with two of my favorite flavors of ice cream, Cookies n Cream, and Green Tea! We will definitely be back.

Not the usual Japanese restaurant. I heard good things about the place but it looks like they deteriorated a bit in quality. The food was mediocre and the bento box took forever to hit the table. Our company was in a hurry because of being on a lunch break and when she asked the waitress how long they hadn’t even started on her order. The rest of the table was almost done with their food. I liked all the Covid measurements they had in place but the bathroom was dirty and not cleaned from the night before made me question the rest. Would not come back again even though we didn’t get to try their amazing deserts.

We came here as a family for birthday dinners! It is always a fun dining experience at Shokudo, especially if you love Japanese Fusion. My husband and I ordered the Lobster Dynamite Roll. It was very delicious. One MUST HAVE when coming to Shokudo is the Homey Toast. I don't have a picture of it because it was so appetizing that no one could wait to eat it! Also the bread pudding is always a great option. The bimbimbop is also one of my favorites. If you are hungry and at Ala Moana, I highly recommend it!

Merriman's Honolulu is a vibrant and stylish restaurant that offers locally-sourced Pacific Rim cuisine, accompanied by a selection of wines, cocktails, and live music. Located at Ward Village near Ala Moana Centre, this modern Hawaiian gastropub is the brainchild of award-winning chef Peter Merriman. The menu features an array of family-friendly dishes such as Kalua Pig quesadilla, fish tacos, and chicken-avocado salad.
Our server was superb and the ambience was relaxing and comfortable. Not only our server was good, I also noticed how every employee was really into his or her job. The management did a very nice job training and motivate its staff. We sat in front of the kitchen and had a great view how the kitchen and the wait staff all working together. Kudos! The food was excellent and the price was reasonable. The taro hummus appetizer was one of the best hummus we have had and the it was garnished with bits and pieces of fresh vegetables, a great combination. The burger was very tasty (but just a tad on the salty side) and it came with some very good fries. The buttermilk dressing for the fries was one of the best. The fish sandwich was also quite good. The Nerrimen’s Maitai was just okay. We will return to try other dishes and its desserts.

Lived up to the reputation! I was skeptical, I thought they would ride on the iconic reputation but they actually have fantastic food service and the drinks are on point! The atmosphere is classy but hawaii classy! great live music! The Roasted Garlic chicken was so good honestly, i am a foodie & it was delicimo! The appetizers are all carefully homemade and are as good as entres no joke. the quesadillas alone will rock your world ! im very impressed with Sean the manager & also his #1 waiter Ryan.

I’ve been to monkeypod on outrigger and Merriman’s in Maui. I expected this place to be closer in style to the Maui location and I was dead wrong. It seems to be a little more upscale than monkeypod but with worse food. I had the surf and turf which had flavorless fish with a terrible bolognese sauce paring. The wagyu sirloin was requested medium rare but came out well done, overcooked due to its size no doubt. I also had the table side poke which had just fish, avocado, onion, and a soy sauce. Not terrible but not worth $25 for a few bites. The taro chips were the best part. My partner had the mushroom ravioli which was so underwhelming. Zero mushroom flavor due to the overwhelming butter sauce. We had two decent drinks out of the 4 we ordered. Finally the desert was overfilled with macadamia nuts and not enough bread to call it bread pudding. Our sever was our only salvation but he could only do so much when the whole place felt like it focuses on its “aesthetic” rather than food quality. Bill came out to $300, would have been better spent at monkeypod!

Finally stopped by for lunch for two today. Seated promptly and service throughout was efficient and very friendly. Wife had a mai tai, which she liked, but didn’t loved in its defense she leans sweet and this was pleasantly tart, so I thought it was great. She had the special which was salmon in a soy, chili and seasame oil sauce with fresh noodles - all outstanding - she loved the sauce! I had the fish sandwich, which was probably the best fish sandwich I’d ever had! Fish wasn’t even battered, but grilled. Fish was super fresh and the bun was even delicious, all along with a nice spicy aioli. All in all, been meaning to come here for a while and will definitely be back!

We don't get reservations when we visit this restaurant, because we can always get a table every time. Today as any other days, we were seated right away. Waiter was very friendly and prompt with orders. This restaurant is not the cheapest in town. I really don't mind paying for the food, as long as its made properly. The reason for 3 stars on the food, I wasn't impressed with what I've got today. Although the steak was flavored, the meat was too well done and tough for what I wanted. The fries shouldn't be included with the steak since it get soggy from the juice of the meat. My salad was too soggy as well, too much dressing for such a small amount of lettuce/ingredients in them. Butter should be serve room temperature not hard so it's easy to spread on the biscuit.
The H — Google review
This place lived up to my expectations. Our server was beyond helpful in giving us recommendations on what to order, and my mouth watered as he described the dishes to us. I ended up enjoying a perfectly cooked medium rare steak with fries. For dessert, I had the chocolate purse with vanilla ice cream. Everything was brilliant!

The most disappointing $68 lunch in recent memory goes to Merriman's Honolulu. Read on to find out why. The tiny and sad Hapa Poke ($23) was missing the advertised Avacado and flavorless. Just salty with no unique flavor. The portion size of fish was a joke too. The chips were sad too. I threw most of this away. The Kalua Pig Quesadillas ($16) were super greasy and the Poi Crema was a congealed mess. The Kimchi felt out of place and an afterthought. I threw away half the dish. The Fish and Shrimp Chips ($29) were greasy and overcooked. The batter was hard like a rock and unpleasant. The Malt Vinegar "Aioli" tasted like straight mayo. The only thing that was ok were the Fries. I threw away half of this too. For $68 this lunch was a full on fail. To be honest my choice for lunch was actually @mariposahawaii but they said their kitchen was too backed up and they weren't accepting takeout orders. We settled on Merriman's because a friend was getting us lunch and it was nearby. It's also a little strange that I can't tag merrimanshonolulu. Anyhow I don't think I'll ever be back unless there's some crazy changes to their menu. I threw away half the food even though I was raised not to waste food. 🔹𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱: (2/10 🌟) 🔹𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 & 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Not rated due to takout. However it took several calls before anyone answered the phone. 🔹𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁: (2/10 🌟) Not Recommended. 🔹𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲'𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲: (5/10 🌟) The score you voted for in our public poll.

Went here yesterday with a friend and the food was just okay. After taking our order, we had to wait half an hour for the food to come out and the restaurant wasn't even half full. The tables near us also had a long wait time. I had the steak frites, medium rare. It was cooked properly, but I think the portion size has been reduced from the last time I ordered it a few years ago. I've had better steaks at other restaurants. My friend had the Caesar salad, nothing spectacular. Our server was nice, though. I think this place can do better.

Japanese restaurant
Yanagi Sushi is a renowned Japanese restaurant that has been a favorite among celebrities for decades. The place is often bustling, especially during dinner hours, owing to its impeccable food and welcoming ambiance. The sushi here is exceptional, prepared with great skill and pride by the chefs. This forty-year-old late-night sushi joint in Honolulu offers inventive sushi rolls, sashimi, kal bi, fusion dishes, and other authentic Japanese fare.
They were constantly checking in on us to make sure we were doing alright and were taken care of. The food was delicious as well. The space is a bit on the small side; if you're thinking of bringing a party of more than 4, I would recommend calling ahead to see what accommodations can be made.
Kat S — Google review
We had dinner with several friends here tonight. The private room was tight, but acceptable. The sashimis were very fresh, the butter fish was well prepared. The raw oysters were fresh as well and small as we’d ordered. All dishes were fairly traditional, but lacked creativity and proper presentation.
Big C — Google review
Expensive for okay sushi with bad service. For context, I have visited many kinds of sushi and Japanese restaurants across the world. Came here in a large group with a reservation. Some of us arrived a bit early and were forced to take a seat at the table, even though we had rather waited (and said so many times). Once we were seated, the waitress seemed very rude about even filling up our water and taking our order. After a reasonable time, we started getting dishes -- but not all at once. Later, we noticed that about 1/4 of the dishes were missing. I mentioned it to a waiter who said he'd double check. At that point, most of our table had finished their plates while some didn't even receive their food. We told a different waiter who didn't say anything and just walked away. After 5ish minutes, they came back and said they lost the ticket or something. Eventually, after many plates were already cleared, the last dishes showed up. No amends were made. Food wise, it wasn't very fresh. It felt precut and dry. Additionally, their rice was the prepared incorrectly. It broke apart when one tried to pick up nigiri. This made it very difficult to eat the sushi without making a salad accidentally. Aesthetic wise, the place looked like a traditional Japanese restaurant. But without the service to match, it felt wrong.
Varun S — Google review
I might have to try this place again based off of everyone’s great reviews. Our party ordered an assortment of food including sushi rolls and dinner entrees and while the rolls were great I was disappointed with the tempura and teriyaki chicken. The tempura wasn’t hot and inside the shrimp one was just really soft with no bite. As for the teriyaki, was way too sweet. As for the sushi rolls, I really liked the soft shell one as well as the caterpillar roll.

Our family has been coming here for multiple years, and my dad has been coming since he was a baby. One of the best Japanese restaurants in Hawaii. I highly recommend Yanagi to anyone that visits Honolulu. I love coming here and ordering my regular, a kids udon portion with a Shirley temple. I love how whenever I come here my dad has a new story to tell us from the times he was eating here at Yanagi. I absolutely love this place and come here at least once every time we visit. Our family definitely love coming here and eating all the delicious food they have here, we absolutely think you should come here and we hope you will love Yanagi as much as we do.😋😋

There's a reason this place won Honolulu's best of sushi award. The staff is freaking ridiculously amazing and the food is just sublime. Really the best sushi in all of Oahu.

The place changed abit. Staff seem friendly. Our waiter was nice but we had to keep calling him for spoon, refills, and had to look for him to get our check to pay. Food was ok. The shrimp tempura seemed a bit mushy and my teriyaki chicken was burnt and dry. Had to remove the burnt skin. The place was not busy so not sure why the food was burnt. Oh, and I got my food about 10 mins after my other friends got there food. I did not make any special order of my food so I am puzzled. A simple lunch combo of shrimp tempura with teriyaki chicken. My rice was given to me first then 10 mins later the main item came. It has been 4 yrs since my last meal there.

Arnold's Beach Bar is a Hawaiian tiki bar located off Saratoga Road in Honolulu, offering a laid-back island decor, classic drinks at reasonable prices, live music, and a beachy vibe. This Tiki hideaway provides an escape with its tropical drinks, games, snacks and frequent live music. The bar's concept emerged during the Great Depression in California as an escapist environment that fit perfectly with what people were looking for during that time.
Cool small bars to get some drinks with live music. It was a great closing to our day. The service is good and everyone is friendly. It is an open space so you can enjoy the weather, with or without shadow.

Finding a tiki bar like this in Waikiki was such a pleasant surprise! Arnold’s Beach Bar is warm, friendly, and has a truly local vibe. The cocktails are strong and the prices are very reasonable. The Mai Tai was especially amazing! The live music adds a great touch to the atmosphere. It’s not touristy — it feels real and genuine. If you’re in Waikiki and looking for a chill place to grab a drink and enjoy yourself, this spot is a must. Oh, and the popcorn is legendary!

A great tiki bar. Reasonably priced tucked away down an alley. The staff is friendly and drinks are great. It’s not fancy but not what I would call a dive bar. They have free popcorn and some food options (I think). Go for the Mai Tais, excellent beer and a good variety of cocktails made with with Aloha.

Many reviews consider Arnold’s Beach Bar a drive bar, however I think this is far from the truth. Although smaller than most other bars, Arnold’s makes up for in character. The pours are strong and the drinks are excellent. The best priced drinks in Waikīkī. You’d be foolish not to stop by for one for seven drinks.

Ala Wai Boat Harbor is a stunning harbor located on the South Shore of Oahu in Honolulu. It features a saltwater lagoon called Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon, which is perfect for picnics, swimming, and lounging. The lagoon is filled with fresh seawater daily and surrounded by white shores and green grassy areas, making it a popular spot for families and water enthusiasts to relax and capture breathtaking photos.
I came across this marina while walking to see the fireworks on Friday night. The atmosphere was enchanting with its soft lights in the evening sky and the yachts on the calm water. It was a pleasure to see people hanging out on one of the yachts with drinks and music. Such an intimate setting. Definitely worth an evening stroll.

“2-Hour Oahu Whale Watch from Ala Wai Harbor, Waikiki”- Search TripAdvisor Was a beautiful trip! Boat was good, Captain was great and besides seeing quite a few Calves and moms and escorts, we also had a wonderful view of the coast line from Ali Wai Harbour past Diamond Head with views of Molokai. Because the motor was cut to view to whales, we drifted sideways a time or two…that’s a problem for those of you (like me!) who get seasick! Best to stay on the main level at the BACK of the boat for the least turbulence! And yes, they provide ‘bags’! And pop and snack are for sale.
Linda B — Google review
visited the marina the other day for a walk around mainly to see if any boats were for sale, anyway was surprised with the poor state of the place, very dilapidated pontoons, moorings & Quayside, lot's and lot's of junk ie old engine bikes vehicles that clearly haven't moved for a very long time, and so much rubbish floating around in the water between the boats and moorings again clearly been there for a very longtime, I find it very surprising that this has been able to get that bad, not sure I would be keen on mooring a yacht there

Large marina with lots of rubbish and fish in the water. Big carpark, lots of homeless people living on the boats. Lots of boats. Overall handy location to access Waikiki, Hilton precinct and shopping centre. Just on the outskirts of Waikiki.

Fairly good harbor. Relatively clean and has quite a few different boats in stock. We like going and seeing the different ships and seeing what's important. And you can't go wrong with the dive team that's here.

On a recent vacation to Honolulu, Hawaii we discovered the Ala Wai boat harbor and spent a whole day hanging out here. Standing on the docks you can see so many cool tropical fish, we even saw a puffer fish and a sea turtle. The sea turtle swam right in front of us and hung out for a while. Every Friday night they do a fun firework show here.

Ala Wai Boat Harbor is a beautiful harbor on the South Shore of Oahu in Honolulu. The harbor is surrounded by hotels and restaurants. The Waikiki Yacht Club and Hawaii Yacht Club are both situated on the harbor. On Friday nights the Hilton Hawaiian Village Firework Display is easily seen from the Ala Wai Harbor and provides a great treat. A walkabout around the harbor in the evening provides excellent sunset viewing and you can frequently hear music wafting from local restaurants. Do yourself a favor and give the Ala Wai Boat Harbor a try for an evening stroll. If you find my review helpful please give me a thumbs-up 👍 Thank you!

Hana Koa Brewing Co. is a brewpub and restaurant located in the Kakaako district of Honolulu, Hawaii. The brewery offers a dozen unique craft beers on tap, with quirky names and interesting ingredients that push the boundaries of traditional brewing. The owners, a young couple passionate about beer and brewing, have created a diverse lineup of beers with tropical inspiration such as Beach Bum, Chill Vibes Only, and Feels Like Summer. Additionally, Hana Koa Brewing Co.
Hana Koa Brewing is a gem in downtown Honolulu and a short drive from Waikiki beach! My friend who lives in Oahu highly recommended Hana Koa, and it delivered in every aspect. Our server, Sarina, was patient and careful with my gluten allergy. She made sure my food was totally safe for me (I have Celiac). I got the lemongrass chicken (juicy and perfectly cooked) as well as the Vietnamese salad with rice noodles, mint, and shrimp. The flavors were well balanced, ingredients were fresh, and I kept wanting to go back for another bite! My friends ordered the meat sandwiches and said it was delicious. I would come back here again and again each night of my vacation if I could! Now on to the atmosphere: positive, fun, and energetic. The service was fast, too - we waited maybe 15 minutes for our food. Come to Hana Koa for a good time! FYI- There is a free parking lot, but it fills up quickly.

Stopped by Hana Koa Brewing during a work trip and I will definitely be back! The vibe is fun, welcoming, and relaxed. The perfect mix of local charm and creative energy. The food goes way beyond typical “brewpub” fare. Every dish that came out of the kitchen looked delicious. I had the Pork Belly Sliders and they were excellent! I sat at the bar and have to shout out my bartender, Lil Viking, super friendly and I appreciate the food recommendations! Parking is close and on the side of the brewery. I was there during the day so it was easy, but I imagine it fills up quick during peak hours. Merch: Definitely check out their merchandise area. I went home with a shirt!! Hana Koa is absolutely worth the stop for great food, great drinks, and great people. 🌈🍺 PS: Their brunch menu looks amazing as well!!

Good place and great beer, especially if you like hazy IPA's. Cloud Monster and Another Adventure were my favorites. My food was fantastic! Had the October special Green Curry Plate. Good heat but not so much as to obscure the taste. Highly recommended and hope to be back.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Oahu! Great beer and amazing food. I highly recommend the garlic shrimp plate with beef short ribs. The ribs were incredibly tender (and boneless!) and flavorful, paired perfectly with sesame seasoned bok choy. The purple mochi daze had a unique and interesting taste, definitely worth trying as well!

Best beer on Oahu, maybe the best in Hawaii? The food was also the best we had while we were in Honolulu. Prime rib the size of my whole head for $32??? And it was gorgeously cooked. If you like craft beer, you have to make this a destination while you're visiting Hawaii.
Anna W — Google review
The beer is excellent, easily the highlight here. Great variety, great quality, and clearly award-winning. Unfortunately, the service doesn’t even come close. We arrived around 9:15 pm and sat at the bar. No greeting, no smile, just, “the kitchen’s closed.” The bartender was more focused on cleaning than acknowledging customers. After we found menus and ordered beers, we were grudgingly informed that the kitchen was actually still open. We ordered fries which, by the way, the menu says are available until 10 pm. The second bartender wasn’t any friendlier. The overall vibe was like we were interrupting their night rather than supporting their business. We paid, I tipped (out of habit), and instantly regretted it. In short: phenomenal beer, but the service kills the experience. A place this good on tap deserves staff who actually want to be there.

If I could give this more than 5 stars, I’d personally petition Google for it. Nakamura's Marlin Toast at Hana Koa isn’t just food — it’s a full-blown spiritual awakening on toast! The smoky marlin practically melts on your tongue like it’s been training its whole life for this exact moment. Every bite had me questioning all my past life choices that didn’t involve ordering two more of these. The texture? Immaculate. The flavor? A love letter written by Poseidon himself. Pair it with one of their beers and you’ll ascend straight into flavor nirvana. If Hana Koa ever takes this off the menu, I’ll chain myself to the bar in protest. The Lil Viking in the kitchen has perfected this dish! In short: it’s not “just” marlin toast — it’s the reason I believe in second chances and happiness. THIS TOAST IS A TRUE WINNER on the menu!

Sweetest bartender. The mushroom taco is good but the barbacoa is unreal. The salsa roja has perfect heat and the margaritas tasty. Taco Tuesday is alive in Chinatown Honolulu!

Husband and I really enjoyed our lunch here! We each had a baja fish taco that we both devoured. We also shared a portion of nachos with carne asada as well as a bowl of the street corn and those two were similarly tasty. We split a Chris Kattan cocktail between us both and it was both pretty and delicious. Service was especially kind and thoughtful. Highly recommend and would come back in the future!

The best place I've found for tacos on the leeward side. Good pricing and on Tuesday they have a couple of specials. Frequently featuring live music. Great place to go for lunch or late night.
Richard B — Google review
Had a great time sampling their large selection of Mezcals. Everyone in our group agreed that all the "Rey Campero" Mezcals we're excellent, with the "Tepextate" being our favorite. The tacos were pretty good for the price, with the carnitas being the clear winner. Didn't have the nachos, but they looked super tasty. Will definitely try next time. Very friendly, knowledgeable and patient staff, that took time to answer all our ridiculous questions and help us decipher the somewhat confusing Mezcal menu. The shots were pricey, but we had a great time and walked away feeling like we got our money's worth. I mean, where else on Oahu can you drink from a selection of Mezcal this vast, with good food and service? Highly recommend.

Great burritos, tacos, and nachos. Service was good and plenty of seating. Typical China Town parking...Beer selection was small,, but ok.. A must try.

We stumbled upon this place while we were restaurant/bar hopping. And for a couple of mezcal lovers, this was a dream to find! We started with cocktails- a beautifully balanced drink with tequila, mezcal, Aperol, avocado pit orgeat (so creative!!), and likely some citrus. I forget the name. For food we tried a Pork Carnitas Taco, a Carne Asado Taco, Chips & Guac & Salsa, and Street Corn. All the food was amazing- well seasoned and great flavor combination. The chips definitely taste like they make them in house. After that, we loaded up on some mezcals to try. They had a pretty solid selection- some that you can find more commonly (such as Bozal, Alipus, and the Del Maguey lineup) and some that I hadn’t heard of yet that were super tasty! They served their mezcals traditionally with orange slices and Sal de Gusano (worm salt!). I do wish their mezcals were served in those clay Copitas to really hone in on the tradition even more! Service was great. The bartender helped us out a bunch and answered our millions of questions. I know when visiting Hawaii, your go to is probably tiki drinks, but branch out and go check out this mezcaleria. You won’t be disappointed!

Izakaya Pau Hana Base is a hidden gem that you might stumble upon while exploring the vibrant dining scene. This cozy spot offers an array of delectable pupus and reasonably priced drinks, making it perfect for those looking to unwind after a long day. While some dishes have fluctuated in quality, many visitors rave about the perfectly cooked squid and flavorful ribeye. The atmosphere is inviting, with friendly service that enhances your experience.
Easy to find but might be challenging for those who don’t like going down alley ways. The food was onolicious. Fried and fried ramen very yummy. The salad with lotus roots chefs kiss. As were the very simple cucumber in salmon roe. The pork tonkatsu and fried chicken also delicious. The soft shell small crabs also delicious.

Second update: we’ve returned again and the service was friendly as before, but the food seemed to have taken a step back, thus it’s a 4* now. I’ve raved about this place so much so it was disappointing when we took our son who’s visiting us in Honolulu. The salad remained good, but the steak and the pork seemed tasted too salty and not as tender as before. I’m sure we will return again and see if the food gets better. Update: we went back tonight and tried a couple of new dishes. One of tonight’s specials was simmered beef tendons. It was amazingly good. There are so many excellent dishes here, but we highly recommend the salad with candied lotus roots, the yakitori and of course, the simmered beef tendons. We love the Asian fusion food and as well as Hawaiian food here in Honolulu, but this is definitely our favorite eatery in Honolulu. You know this place has good Japanese food when you are the only person in the restaurant that wasn’t speaking Japanese. At the end, we liked the taste of all the items we ordered, including the tofu salad that was simple yet excellent. The sake selection was good and the service was very friendly as well. Hidden in the back, away from Seaside Street, so look at the name to make sure you are at the correct place.

The wait time for dinner is about 20 minutes. You can make a reservation. It is a Korean restaurant. The fried chicken nuggets are not very delicious. There is a fried pig intestine that is like a rubber band that cannot be chewed. It can only be wasted. Choose carefully. There is a toilet. Take the key on the right side of the door. It is a good place for drinking, but not very comfortable for eating.

Authentic back alley Izakaya in the heart of Waikiki. Don’t expect glitzy or top notch service here as it’s like a side street in Osaka-shi here. I’ve been here several times and always a good time. Best HH beer prices in Waikiki and everything delicious with the exception of the small and overcooked Ribeye Steak. One of those places you hesitate sharing because you don’t want it to get overcrowded sigh.

We went here during staycation Covid time so we know we need to make reservation. Food was still good. Portion is really small just like pupu style. Drink was good. One of the waitress looks so grumpy but lucky thing the lady who wait for us was nice. Not enough waiter/waitress. Lots of people waiting outside & empty table but not enough helper. Ambiance is casual. Too bad. It could be better. Won’t coming back anytime soon.

Was able to walk in at 7 on a Thursday. Found this spot thru TikTok. We got the ribeye, grilled squid, eel over rice, and the Japanese mackerel. Everything was cooked so well!! Probably the best cooked squid I’ve ever tried, not rubbery at all. Try the yuzu chu-hi or share a pitcher of kirin like we did. We also got a complimentary cotton candy at the end that you get to make. We got all this and spent under 100 before tip.

This is it! If you want authentic Izakaya experience, it’s a must visit. I had the chicken skewer, beef intestine, squid eye socket, cod roe cucumber, chicken meatball, and shisamo. Every single food item was on point! Also delicious high ball and shochu!!!! Japanese owned, I checked the business entity.

Travelling Aussies 🇦🇺 This is a fantastic bar on the upper level of the Ala Moana Centre - opposite California Pizza and Olive Garden Plenty of tables, a great breeze and with delicious Mai Tais 🍹 We ordered coconut shrimp and calamari to enjoy with our drinks and both dishes were fantastic Highly recommended for a quiet drink during the day or a lively venue in the evenings The only thing that would have made our visit even better, would be the installation of a number of large ceiling fans. The existing wall mounted fans are too few and too loud 👍
Jaimes P — Google review
We decided on having some cocktails before a late lunch and attending the Lantern Floating Festival. The bar was packed on this Memorial Day at 3pm. We found some seats in the corner. Took a while for the female server to come to our table but the place was hopping so it was all good. ATMOSPHERE: Located on the 4th level of Ala Moana Center, Mai Tai Bar is like sitting in someone's open-air living room, with sofas and coffee tables on the perimeter, cool high-top tables that wrap around the support pillars, regular high-tops, and of course bar seating. The sofa seating is in the style of old Hawaii style, with the big square cushions and wide arm rests, which is retro cool. Entertainment depends on the date & time. They had basketball playing on the TV and loudspeakers. Yawn. BEVERAGE: Stella Artois Love that they have the option of a pitcher, which is about 3 1/2 glasses. Mixed Drinks Avoid, as the few I had were watered down. FOOD: Chicken Wings These were delish! Got it done spicy which wasn't very spicy at all, meaning it has lots of flavor but doesn't burn the taste buds off of your tongue which is what I love. SERVICE: Once our service started, it never stopped. She took great care of us, constantly checking up and making sure our drinks were filled. OVERALL: Atmosphere is great, as long as its not overly-crowded which it can get especially at night.
Maui T — Google review
Mai Tai’s has all the elements to be a really great establishment but instead they lean on “ambiance” instead of prioritizing quality service and food that justifies their prices. The fish tacos, should be renamed “Cole Slaw Tacos” as they only feature a sliver of fish, which can hardly explain the $22 dollar price tag. Even during mid-day the service is often slow, and you definitely have to “catch” your server. We asked for Mayo and Mustard for the cheeseburger but after over 30 minutes, we lost hope it would ever come and it infact did not. It also seems they have no organization on how to match orders to tables, with the runner often having to go to multiple tables to find out who the food belongs to. It also may be helpful to the servers if there were dedicated bussers, tables are often left with drinks and plates from prior customers. All in all this is a great place for drinks and fun after 9pm. But lower your expectations if you are expecting anything but subpar service and strategically overpriced foods. My advice? Eat somewhere else grab drinks here.

Had a large group event at Mai Tai's Grill & Bar on a Monday during happy hour (4pm-7pm). It's located on the 4th floor, open air style. HH included $10.00 USD specialty drinks, $2.00 off beer pints and 50% off 6 food options. Live music was enjoyable (musician did two sets), plenty of TV's showing hockey and football. Favourite drink was the lychee sunset, but tried several others. The food wasn't particularly memorable; chicken quesadilla ($10.00 USD), French fries ($6.00 USD), edamame ($6.00 USD), garlic shrimp ($12.00 USD), chips & salsa ($5.50 USD) and pepperoni pizza ($7.50 USD).

Great space to get happy hour drinks as the certain cocktails are only $10 each. If you enjoy watching sports, there are several screens broadcasting different sports. Service was great but felt a little pushy as the waitress checked up on us too many times over the hour that we were there asking whether we wanted more drinks when we weren’t close to finishing our current drinks. Overall, it was a good place to sit down at the mall. This is located at the top level.

Smith & Kings is a gastropub located in the heart of Chinatown. It serves elevated pub fare in a cool, laid-back space with a big chalkboard menu of craft cocktails. Thoughtful preparation and great cocktails make this bar excellent. It's better than other much-celebrated cocktail bars in Chinatown, making it an ideal spot for brunch. There are several different varieties of eggs benedict and mac & cheese on the menu, making it hard to go wrong.
First time in Hawaii and glad we picked this place for brunch. The fish was cooked perfectly and the potatoes seasoned just right. The egg was over cooked just a tad but still had enough yolk to fulfill me. (I subbed the fish and grits for fish and potatoes) The wings buffalo sauce was savory and made us want more! My boyfriends brunch burger was to die for - cooked medium rare and was perfection. Deff would come back if we ever visit again. Thank yall for the lovely service. The waitress was knowledgeable and nice. I didn’t get her name sadly but she had colored eyes and kinda curly hair pulled up. 10/10

Recommended by a friend for Brunch and was not disappointed with the food! They had an open seating, as long as the table was not reserved you can choose where to sit, but I was a little cold so I would bring a sweater next time. Don't sleep on the Cajun Fish N Grits! This dish was recommended by the waitress. I was a little worried because looking back at other reviews they all looked very different, but it was so flavorful! The fish wasn't dry and the corn bread was pretty good too. The only thing I didn't really like was the bacon on the side, but my friend said it was good to have since it was sweet to balance the salty Cajun flavor. We also ordered the Biscuits N Gravy! We used the extra gravy with the biscuits and dipped the chicken in with every bite!

We went early evening on a random Wednesday. The chill, welcoming, relaxed yet nice atmosphere made for a good start. In time for happy hour, our cocktails—an old fashioned and whatever my friend got—were made as should be by the congenial, professional bartender. The poutine fries were better than expected. Gravy (not goupy) and the french-fried potatoes themselves actually had the lovely texture of real potatoes. Because they were. Very good. Thankfully, the music volume was kept low (conversation, brain-freedom, yes, please) and the TV was showing old episodes of Bob Ross painting classes. Very little in way of gluten-free food, just fyi. Good drinks, great atmosphere.

We came here visiting from out of town. It took us 30+ min to get our drinks. We thought we had enough time to participate in two drinks at least before happy hour ended but that wasn’t the case. Within the 30 plus min of waiting for our alcoholic drink we didn’t get a water before hand which would have been the best choice. We finally got our cocktails with an apology and a reason that didn’t make sense at all which was fine. The drinks didn’t taste like what the ingredients were at all. It was actually very nasty so we got something else. Our food took 1 hr to come out. Only for the fries within my guests entree to be burnt to a crisp. We looked at them in confusion not knowing if it was a local type of food but I then looked at the pictures on their google business page only to see their fries don’t look like that in any form and they were ok with giving us very burnt fries. I should have taken a picture of the food we received but we were just ready to leave from this disappointing experience. I wish y’all all the best and it’s unfortunate we were visiting from out of town and how dinner how to be spoiled but this experience.

Update: As of November 17th this issue has been resolved, and I’ve finally gotten my credit back. In the end, the restaurant owner sent me a $50 Amazon gift card for the nearly 3 months of frustration. Thank you. 🙂Part of the delay was the credit card dispute process that I had to go through. The owner says that she has advised the wait staff to be mindful of this issue in the future; I appreciate the forward thinking. Btw, no complaints on the actual food. Original: My family and I ate at this restaurant on August 24th and purchased $176.72 in food plus tip and taxes. The restaurant charged my card twice back to back for the same meal. I called them and left a message yet no one returned my call. I ended up submitting a dispute with the credit card. They opposed the dispute and sent in both of the duplicate bills showing that they are the exact same thing and still will not refund the duplicate charge. I hope they do not rob you as well.

Visit: November 2023 The staff was really helpful when working with and explaining the menu. The food was great, with good variety of sauces. There's quite a lot of toppings you can choose from as well to load the bowl with, and you can have a choice of two types of fish for the poke which provides some good variety. The fish and the ingredients were pretty fresh in my opinion as well

First time having poke and I love it. Poke means "diced" but is typically diced raw fish. If you love sushi and like getting full come here. They allow you to load your bowl with 2 fish, toppings sides and sauces. Our bartender was excellent and what surprised me the most was the craft cocktail bar. I told the bartender to make a classic called the bees knees as they have honey syrup and it calls for it. He balanced it very well. Will go again when I'm in the area again. Although once criticism is that he was the table busser, server and checked some people in for a seat. I would just have him doing less so he can focus on the bar.

Great poke combinations to choose from. We got their special that had some beautiful pork in it as well. Duane was an Excellent Poke Tender with knowledge about the various options. He was able to make recommendations as well as provide different options. You may choose a lettuce, white rice, or brown rice for the base. We got the brown rice and both split the 1 bowl, which was more than enough, and Super tasty! Please say Aloha to Duane as he is a Very hard working person! #RockFromRI

We went yesterday for the first time and had a great dining experience. I ordered a regular sized spicy ahi poke bowl, which turned out to be quite a lot. For $11, it's very well worth it. My husband ordered the special of the day: reuben sandwich with kalua pork, he loved it. We got there at 2pm so it was their happy hour. Ordered a crab dip as appetizer, tasted amazing. Will definitely go back and try more food.

Redfish? What a strange name for a business but I made the connection to the color of top quality ahi tuna and potential poke bar since this place is associated with Foodland Farms. As we approached the entrance of Redfish, a worker handed us a menu on a clipboard so we could see what they offered in their new establishment. Walking in, we were met by friendly workers behind the huge poke bar that features 8 ahi tuna aka redfish poke styles as well as hamachi (Japanese Amberjack) and salmon poke all made from FRESH, not pre-frozen, fish. For non-meat or fish-eaters, there is a vegan beet poke and a vegetarian tofu poke. But, speaking of different poke styles, there is even a pipikaula (Hawaiian beef jerky) poke. At this poke bar, you can customize your poke bowl or choose from their Signature Bowls. There are 10 choices for unlimited toppings. Prices range from $11 to $14. This front area is mainly for TAKEOUT meals but there is a small counter where you can sit and dine. In addition to takeout poke bowls, you can purchase any of the fresh poke by weight like at a fish market. Being curious about the advertisement of their full bar and restaurant service, we roamed to the backside of the poke bar where we found the cocktail bar and gregarious bartender. You can order your cocktail or beers on tap as well as a quick bite to pair with your beverage at the bar. The quick bites being offered are selections like okonomiyaki fries ($8) to Pūlehu short ribs (16). We were seated and proceeded to order several small and medium bites and washed them down with a couple of locally brewed beers. The poke can be pricey BUT they use fresh from the fish auction fish nothing is frozen. They also make the poke in small batches so the product is fresh and not over-marinated or over seasoned. Redfish is a fun place to come in to sit and grab a beef and/or cocktail with some great tasting local snacks.

Best meal we’ve had on Oahu. Everything was delicious. Chips and salsa has a fusion twist. The poke was so fresh and even the ribeye was delicious. The malasadas for dessert were also fresh and served with ice cream. Can’t be it - especially for the price!

Duke's Canoe Club, located at the Outrigger Waikiki, is a casual bar and restaurant that pays homage to Duke Kahanamoku, a legendary figure in Hawaiian sports. The venue offers a blend of island culture with live Hawaiian music, tropical cocktails, and fresh local seafood. With its beachfront location overlooking Waikiki Beach, it provides the perfect setting to enjoy the aloha spirit and stunning sunsets. The Main Reason For My Trip To O'ahu Was For A Piece Of Spam Hula Pie During Spam Jam. It Did Not Disappoint! Had To Go To The Actual Restaurant To Catch Dinner On Our Date Night For Another Piece! The Ribs Were Absolutely Delicious And The Staff Was Amazingly Friendly

This place is a must on anyone visiting Waikiki. Food was good, drinks even better and service top notch. Great anytime of the day however sunset is perfect. Watching the sunset over the ocean for this Aussie was pretty special. Making a reservation is required if you want a specific time of day.

Great experience at Duke's. We made a reservation about 2 weeks prior to arrival and highly recommend doing so. The reservation process online is simple and easy to book. Our server, Jules, was the best - very attentive and personable. Her level of customer service was outstanding. The breakfast buffet had an extensive spread of breakfast meats, eggs, an omlet your way, fruits, breads, and grains. Our drinks came out fast, and our plates were cleared. We ordered the POG mimosas and coffee. For the omlet your way, place an order on the little sheet at your table and hand it to your server for a customized omlet to your liking. The view from our table was the beach which made our experience even better. Thanks for a great time!

The lunch buffet was amazing. The food was delicious and the outdoor seating/view was great. We have been in Oahu for 6 days and this has been my family's favorite restaurant, by far. The lunch buffet was $33 and the variety of yummy food you get (poke, short ribs, chicken, shrimp and so much more) is an exceptional value. It all tasted freshly prepared. I would definitely recommend a meal (or more) here and I'm glad we stopped in.

Amazing place! The buffet was outstanding with delicious poke, meats, and salads. Drinks were great and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable, which let our whole family enjoy a great meal without spending too much. Highly recommend!

We came to Duke's for lunch and enjoyed great food with a view of the ocean. I got the buffet, the food was high quality and service was great. We ended with the Hula pie which was a real treat.

Awesome beachfront bar and restaurant! Draws a huge crowd. The bar area has open seating so you just need to keep an eye on who's leaving. Good food, the drinks were ok. Prices were reasonable except for the cosmopolitan which was $15.

Nice atmosphere. Food was good. The salad bar is terrific, you should definitely add it on to your meal. Hula pie lived up to the hype. Drinks were wonderful as well. Only downside to the evening was our server, she seemed to be doing too much and always rushed.

Bar
The Social Honolulu Eatery & Bar offers a delectable menu featuring dishes like kimchee fried rice, truffle parm brussel sprouts, and generous portions perfect for sharing. It's a popular spot for both drinks and food, with a lively atmosphere suitable for larger parties. While there may be a wait for tables during peak times, the efficient service ensures that orders are promptly served. The establishment is ideal for unwinding after work with its classic R&B and rap music selection.
It's been 2 years since the last time we were here and we knew we had to come back. One of the drinks we enjoyed the most was the match old fashion. We went to Japan and still couldn't find a drink that was as good as the Social's. It's definitely a drink to try if you like matcha and old fashioned drinks. As for food, their loco moco with fried rice is really good. When we first had it, we were only going to share it between me and my husband. We devoured it and ordered a second one! We ordered it again when we came back and it did not disappoint. We also tried the uni mentaiko pasta and the oyster shooters. Uni is a hit or miss for me and I really enjoyed this uni pasta. It was just slightly too salty. Oysters were also tasty. We would order these again. There's a parking garage with plenty of parking. The restaurant is on the second floor. The restaurant has a bar and plenty of TVs so it's a great place to watch sports and catch their HH. The staff are great and friendly. We can't wait to come back here again when we visit Honolulu.
Amy P — Google review
On the second floor of the parking structure. Good place to play darts, get drinks, have a burger, and watch sports with friends.
Ron C — Google review
Hidden gem tucked away on the 2nd floor of Ward Center by Nordstrom Rack, this bar/restaurant has now more parking than where it used to be before at Mccully and Young Street (the old ASB) Popular hangout for me to watch sports and for the late nite crowd as its one of the few places open late. Friendly bartenders and wait staff, great selection of drinks to choose from and now launched a happy hour from 4-6pm Sunday thru Thursday, with discounted food and drink specials. Usually come here 1-2 times a week since the food is straight action. The Social Moco, Fish Tacos, and the Uni Mentaiko Pastas are my go to....the food here is top notch. 5 stars🤙
P R — Google review
The Social is a sports bar on McCully where you can get good pupus and entrees. The place gets busier past nine, but many of the tables are reserved before then on weekends. Walking in, you should be able to get a table, but it does get busy with a Millennials crowd. The service is excellent. Most of the dishes are good, though the pork chops entree turned out to be a little salty. Not a big deal because everything else was great. Parking can get tight but there’s a lot across McCully at the bank where you can pay to park.
Lance A — Google review
The food is good, atmosphere is casual and friendly. It's located on Level 2 of Ward Village, entrance is at the parking floor. Some dishes we ordered and they are all good! - Agedashi Tofu, Garlic Chicken, Kalbi, Fried Rice, Tofu Salad.
Stefani W — Google review
Nice bar food looked good we just stopped by for a quick drink before going to dinner. Just got the truffle Fries and a few shots (happy hour).
R C — Google review
This was a nice place to have drinks and food at. I'm not sure if it's for smaller parties or just bigger parties. I was with a party of ten and there was alot of bigger parties around us. It took us about a hour to get a table. But once we did the food and drinks were coming out fast the service was great. This would be a good place to go out to after work and chill. Good old school R&B and rap. But with the music playing and a open floor plan you can hear everything people are saying and it feels like you are yelling at time's to hear your party's conversation. I hope this helps you out and have a great day.
1gr8catch4u — Google review
Food is a little more than an average bar but it's excellent and big portions. Good prices on drinks. At time of writing, you can get $9 pours of Hibiki Harmony and Glenfiddich 14. $7 for pours of Bulleit and similar. They have daily drink specials too. big space inside for groups. Parking lot is a little small 10ish stalls but there's street parking on King Street at night or a paid lot across the street (they check so don't chance it). 4 dart boards. They play the 7pm replay of Monday Night Football games.

Artizen by MW is a chic counter-serve cafe located in the Symphony Honolulu building. The restaurant, owned by award-winning culinary duo Michelle Karr-Ueoka and Wade Ueoka, offers contemporary Hawaiian lunch specials in a modern setting. Known for its mochi-crusted fish with somen noodles and soy yuzu kosho vinaigrette, Artizen also boasts dog-friendly outdoor seating on Ward Avenue and even has a special menu for four-legged visitors.
I ordered take out from here, the food is very good. Price is quite reasonable. The portion is not huge, just the right size.

Not exactly a professional coffee shop or cafe, they serve quality coffee drinks from an espresso machine behind the bar inside the car dealership. Nice server makes me a drink close to a cortado and it is good, though a bit high priced with only to-go cup options. Lots of seating w/ covered seating outside if you don’t mind the traffic. It’s all there for a great coffee shop but it’s not the restaurant’s priority. To-go food options look really good as well. High-quality spot for people with too much money… but if you’re walking by it’s good 🤙🏼 4.5/5

The smash burger was good, comes with the skinniest fries. The chicken sandwich was not good (also came with fries). ~$60 for the two sandwiches, a drink, and tip. You order from the counter (or online), food takes 15-20min, they deliver it in plastic containers to your table. Lots of indoor/outdoor seating.

Great place for lunch after a visit to I'olani Palace. The garden courtyard was under repair when we recently visited, but we have seen it in its glory and it is a beautiful place right next to the cafe. We ordered food that was much too heavy (eggplant sandwich, pork bowl, and pumpkin cheesecake), but it was all tasty.

This is my personal #1 spot for lunch on the island. The quality is phenomenal, they keep the menu simple and fulfill each order with delicacy and amazing locally sourced food when available. I love the fries here, and the furikake fries are a little fusion bomb of Oishi goodness! The burger is one of the best I've had, and the opah is to die for! No matter what you get, it will be served with the upmost quality.

Tommy Bahama is a lifestyle brand known for its relaxed and sophisticated style in men's and women's sportswear, swimwear, accessories, footwear, and home furnishings. The store offers a wide range of island-inspired apparel and accessories that are perfect for creating complete outfits. With its on-trend displays and beautiful clothing line, Tommy Bahama provides a seamless shopping experience for those looking to embrace the casual yet stylish island vibe.
While visiting Hawaii during the month of May, I stopped by the Tommy Bahama store in the Ala Moana Shopping Centre to look around. The first thing I noticed upon entering the store were the displays. The clothing selected for each display was so on-trend and all of the items paired well with each other. It takes the guess work out of the equation if you're looking for a complete outfit. Moving through the store, I was overcome by how beautiful the clothing line truly is. The fabric is just so luxurious. I found myself having difficulty choosing items to try on (I wanted everything) but the sales staff were incredibly helpful and attentive to my needs and helped me narrow down my choices. Everyone was friendly and polite making my overall experience really enjoyable. The pieces I purchased are beautiful, feel fabulous to the touch and look extremely high-end. Though the Tommy Bahama brand may be a little pricier than other brands, in this case you really do get what you pay for. The clothing I purchased are well constructed timeless pieces that will last a life time. I have received so many compliments when I wear them. Treat yourself to something fabulous from this store, even if it's a candle or a tote bag. If you do buy a clothing item, I can guarantee that you will look and feel great. If you are just browsing or killing time, I promise you that the staff will make you feel like family by the time you leave the store. If I could give more than a five star rating for Tommy Bahama, I would do it!

I purchased 1 outfit and 1 bikini set cost 550.00 was told by Alisa if I did i would get 150.00 in gift cards to use on 1 item so thought it wasn't a bad deal cause normally I wouldn't spend that kind of money but it was for a gift so I bought stuff know going use gift cards it's different story 1 50.00 gift card per 100.00 definitely not what I was sold on definitely will never buy from them again and waste of 150.00 what a sales gimmick they have going.

I buy a lot of Tommy Bahama clothes. In fact I have a tee shirt and shorts on. I had every intention of buying something from the store at ala Moana mall. Unfortunately none of the sales people wanted to engage in any conversation, ask if I needed help, etc. I circled the interior twice and actually looking at a price tag. Still nothing. I decided to leave and not give them my business. Their loss. So much for customer service.

It was announced that there was going to be at the Ala Moana mall a denim event with a free tote bag so we went they had no event no bag they told us that the decide not to have it in Hawaii after all that we had to go online We still bought $500 worth of merchandise denim and the guy told us he would contact customer service so they can ship us the tote bag he printed a receipt till this day we have not been contacted by this guy or emailed not great customer service we buy a lot from Tommy Bahamas because we love the quality of the clothes first time in that store they also followed us and we’re watching everything we were doing in picking clothes and trying on clothes disappointing, specially because my husband is a veteran and a police officer

There have been strong and equal stretches of management and efficiency here for a long time. For reopening it is riding the wave. Big happy hour. Prices were right and there was more to the food. We enjoyed it and it says a lot. The restaurant has been redesigned, is new and is Hawaiian. Really clean and available.

Otoro Hawaii Fusion is a hidden gem that college students adore for its incredible value, especially during late-night happy hours. While the restaurant may be small, it offers an impressive menu filled with fresh sushi and delightful $1 dishes like fried shishamo and chicken karaage. The atmosphere is inviting, complemented by attentive service from both new staff and experienced sushi chefs who ensure every detail is perfect. Diners rave about the authentic flavors reminiscent of Japan, particularly enjoying options like sashimi and grilled meats.
ONO! This was the first time I've ordered otoro outside of Japan, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The menu here is not for the faint of heart, as they have tons to order from. Sashimi, nigiri, miso, grilled meats and seafood as well. I really did feel like I was back in Japan for this meal, and the food does reflect that as well. The only gripe I have about this restaurant is that they might want to get some music playing in the background... It was eeriely silent and could hear the employees talking.
Stefano V — Google review
Free valet parking on the right side of the restaurant! Overall the food was a bit lackluster for me. Would highly recommend their rolls and fried oysters, but everything else was mediocre. They do however give a lot of food however for the price. $28 gets you 3 choices with salad, miso soup, and ice cream.
Joshua C — Google review
PARKING ON RIGHT/EAST SIDE. I was confused and initially parked in the lot on the left which is for apartment tenants only. Beautiful environment, excellent service, exceptional food. Would recommend the fried jalapeño roll. A new restaurant so new waiters/waitresses but very thoughtful and willing to help. Experienced sushi chefs and finite attention to detail. Owner and general manager very involved in customer experience and going above and beyond to ensure a quality experience. Sashimi and sushi fish fresh and high quality grade. A lot of potential for this up and coming restaurant. Higher quality food than Genki, local hospitality of a small business restaurant, clean atmosphere with a modern design that leaves you feeling satisfied and not stressed like in a busy restaurant chain
Hapa P — Google review
Free valet is 1 drive way BEFORE the main entrance. Food is excellent, esp the flambé steak, lobster, & squid w/ side of vegetable medley. Just 1 waitress needs training, but management was excellent & professional. Reservations not required, but recommended. Update: Nice ambiance inside. Gave 1 star bc they didn’t honor their own $40 gift card tonight despite not having an expiration date on it, however, they did give 20% off the entire bill. Flambé Crab was more than the flambé lobster. California roll had fresh crab (not kanikama) that didn’t taste too fresh. Same waitress is better. The second star is bc the uramaki, broiled ika, New York steak, & scallops were pretty great.
Dan W — Google review
Just a wildly disappointing experience after reading all of the positive reviews for this place (4.8* at time of visit) I got the chirashi don and I cannot recommend any of the raw fish they offer here. It’s not fresh. Some dishes like the deep fried king salmon was bland. The onion fried shrimp was....interesting? Was some sort of egg and green onion wrapped around the shrimp. And the shrimp they use is not the best either, more mushy than crunchy. The pan fry ahi was good as it was doused in garlic. The ice cream was icy.
Jeffrey Z — Google review
Food was amazing! Ordered rainbow roll, dragon roll, yakitori, salmon tempura, miso soup, and the sushi special. The sushi was so fresh and delivered very quick. The hot food was also delicious but took much longer to come out. We sat at the sushi bar and learned a lot from the sushi chef. He was very friendly and his food was amazing. We will be going back.
Chrissie C — Google review
Excellent food. Amazing service. Definitely worth a shot to try it! On weekends they typically are busy around 6:30 or at least Saturday they were. Waiters still need a little bit more training but they are extremely nice!

On the smaller side. Parking is "free valet". Gets busy at night, go early if you're walking in. Good sized portions - combos are an amazing deal for the price!
