Staff were friendly, atmosphere is amazing. There were only two vegan options to choose from, mushroom risotto, or hummus, both of which weren’t even displayed on the menu or on a separate menu. After waiting around half an hour for a table and around another hour for food, my mushroom risotto and chips arrived. The chips were very nice. As for the mushroom risotto, the flavour was okay and the portion was quite small. There were no vegan options for dessert which is embarrassing considering that it’s 2025, but I had a great time watching my partner and friends eat theirs.

Great food and friendly staff. Interior suits this autumn weather as it’s cosy and warm. I guess the log fire will be lit for the winter.

First time here. The food was lovely, well cooked and hot. The seafood starter sharing platter was a treat. Service was relaxed, order at the bar when you're ready, no rushing you. Staff were very pleasant. Could do with a bit bigger car park but managed to get a spot nearby. Will definitely go back again.

We were really looking forward to trying this place, but it wasn’t the best vibe when we got there. The menu didn’t have many good options, and even though it says there social media you can’t book, a bunch of tables had “reserved” signs which was confusing.

Great experience, brilliant food and atmosphere. Had to wait a bit to be greeted for our table but to be fair, staff were busy. Once shown to the table, was not long before we were able to order. Food came in good time and everything was as per the order. Drinks came quickly once ordered too. All round a nice night, friendly staff, great food, brilliant atmosphere. Highly recommened.

Just had an amazing afternoon at **The Waterfront** at Barton Marina! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was perfect—a lovely combination of cozy and stylish, with stunning views of the marina. The food was top-notch, but what really made our experience stand out was the exceptional customer service. A big shout-out to **Tash, the assistant manager**, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Her warm and friendly demeanor, along with her attention to detail, really elevated our night. She made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. Highly recommend The Waterfront for anyone looking for a great meal, excellent service, and a beautiful setting. Can’t wait to go back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pizzas here are great (they have a proper oven) as is the range of drinks. I recently had a brisket-burger (with fries) and onion rings that really wasn’t good (everything was overcooked - onion rings were ruined, fries were very hard, burger was dried out, even the brioche bun ‘broke’ as it was over-toasted !). Nice pleasant setting though and have been back since (not for a burger !) Pic of the burger.

Had my wedding reception here 14 years ago. Unfortunately no longer married. Came here a couple of weeks ago for a Sunday roast. Although slightly expensive for the amount of food received it is very very tasty. Would definitely go again. Staff were very friendly. My suggestion would be to book in advance. Thankfully we booked for 12.15pm and within half an hour the restaurant was full. Wouldn't have got a seat without booking. We are always looking for a new place for a family meal on special occasions and this may well be the next place.

Lovely pub & restaurant a well as function rooms upstairs. Visited several occasions as its in a pretty marina so in the summer months you can enjoy outdoor drinks with a view and in winter months has an inviting fireplace to warm yourself! A nice variety of food including vegetarian and gluten free options. Service is more often than not good to great too!

The venue is nice and has great views, especially the summer. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. First time having lunch here, as we always had drinks. Baked Camembert for starters. Mains we had Sunday Roast and the Steak and Ale Pie was delicious and cooked perfectly, highly recommended.

A review of two halves. My mums and my dishes were beautifully cooked. Delicious starter of burrata and peach and Salmon for main. My mum had the crab starter and sea bass main. Both stunning. Unfortunately my daughter and her husbands main was very disappointing. The burger brioche bun was dry and burger nothing special. My daughter order a starter of pasta as a main, again it was bland, under seasoned and a small portion. My daughter expressed to the waitress her comment to inform the chef. No money was deducted from the bill and although the staff were polite, we did not feel they addressed the issues with our food. Such a shame I cant leave a perfect review. Not sure what happened on this evening but sadly we would not return because of this experience. At £145 it felt over priced for what we had and the lack of care on all dishes served up.

We came for a meal, and it was lovely! The cardamon pannacotta was the best part! And I normally have a savory tooth, so that's saying something! Location is great if you are staying, lots of local walks but close for amenities in Ashbourne!

13.9.25 We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed an excellent meal for 3. Whitebait was fantastic, chalk stream trout was a generous starter and delicious, Cornish crab outstanding, followed by sea bass, perfectly cooked rare steak and a child's fish and chips. Desserts of coconut delice, apricot financier and a child's brownie did not disappoint. All tasty, well presented and served with a smile. Hopefully we will return again, though we are not local, definitely worth a trip from Sheffield for an enjoyable feast. Thank you to all involved.

What a find. Stopped here overnight whilst travelling. In our experience couldn't fault a thing. Food and service both excellent. Good choices for dinner, beautifully cooked, and a special mention must go to the breakfast also. Room comfortable, clean and very quiet. We will definitely return when in the area again. Thank you.

We had a fantastic stay and meal here. The location is gorgeous- we had a wonderful walk in the surrounding countryside. The room was beautiful with a gorgeous view, the food was top tier and the service was impeccable.

To be honest we were disappointed with the meal on Sunday, we took some friends with us telling them how good Meynell is, although it was a few years ago when we last visited. The meals were like warm, the gravy had set thick and greens under cooked, there was a long wait time between Courses, even the coffee took over 20 minutes to arrive. We were offered a free dessert which was a nice gesture. Generally We thought the standards had definitely changed since our last visit

I have previously driven past the Meynell Ingram country pub and thought it looked a nice place. I was wrong... it's an absolutely fantastic establishment offering bar, informal dining, restaurant and outside tables. Something for everyone! We last-minute booked a table for an impromptu date night and secured the final booking of 8:45pm (apologies to the kitchen!). Maddie, our server, was a delight and her knowledge of the menu a real plus point. Despite the time, we were not rushed and the food was exceptional - I'm sure as good as the first meal prepared during a long service. If like me you have considered visiting, please don't hesitate in booking or just stopping-by. If it's an informal meet-up, freshly-cooked pizzas can be enjoyed in the external courtyard and will most definitely be sampled during our next call. Highly recommended!

Nice place but I haven’t been informed that some ingredients are missing. Fish did not smell fresh or maybe the dough was not fresh, not sure, but I did not eat it. In general I’m not happy to get more the cheapest whitebaits to „cover” missing ingredients. If I new before I place the order - I would not do it.

The Maynell Ingram Arms is a great place to grab a superb meal. The quality menu is backed up by excellent service. There is easy parking and the food is well prepared and cooked to excellent standards. Everything I observed leaving the kitchen was of a high standard. Highly recommend a visit.

Has slowly gone downhill over the years. Obviously driven by the food. They seem to struggle getting a decent chef in. The roast used to be the best for miles, but the portions are small, for some reason they seem to just put one carrot on the plate as it’s a garnish. Beef was fatty and meagre portioned. There doesn’t seem to be anyone on the floor taking the lead. Needs better food and better management. The menu overall is a bit one dimensional. Think after years of trying it’s time to accept this place just isn’t what it used to be.

I visited today with a friend for a birthday meal, and it was a really nice experience. We arrived for an early lunch and fortunately could get a table with a reservation, but I think it is a popular place so we may have struggled later on. We have been a couple of time before and it is always very smart and well maintained place to eat. There are a few gluten free options on the Sunday menu, and staff very friendly and very good at asking the kitchen about specifics. I think there are more options on the menu for the rest of the week for gluten free from looking at the menu pics on here. Will keep calling in when we are in the area.

Just walked in, friendly reception and we welcomed the fact that The Lazy Trout is dog friendly. You have your own seating area which our pooch was more than happy with. Amazing food. Fish and Chips was stunning and wifey said her steak and ale pie was cooked to perfection. Lovely decor, nice atmosphere and the car park was packed at 5:50 on a Tuesday, a sign that this establishment is loved. Highly recommended, we will be back. Thanks Lazy Trout

A lovely friendly pub. We came to eat but hadn't booked. Indoor seating was mainly reserved and sat on a table was a little low. Ordered the salmon pate which was delicious with large fries very tasty. Hubby had steak and thoroughly enjoyed. Didn't stay for dessert as my back was starting to ache. Car park is limited but you can park on the road. Dog friendly. Clean and pleasant service. Highly recommended. Will come again but will book beforehand.

We went here for my husband’s birthday meal. We were looked after really well, the staff were attentive and made us feel welcome. The food was delicious and my husband loved the venison pie. They also put a candle on he’s dessert.

Great little pub with sensational food and loads of outdoor tables. Dog friendly inside and out. The sea bass was delicious. Staff were a little inattentive with tables not being cleared but otherwise wonderful experience

Found this recently and been twice in the last few weeks.. Food is excellent and considering mostly home cooked, reasonably priced. Only issue is very limited parking for such a busy place but there is on road parking but does get full due to close proximity of a reservoir

Literally no faults, flawless flawless pub. Wide range of beer from local breweries. The food was generous, great value and undeniably delicious. I can't recommend this place enough, worth the trip to the peak district just for this pub!

Amazing place! I was part of a team taking part in a big event, and we had a pit stop there for all the crew. The food ordered for our teams was delicious, well presented on the buffet table, the outside quiosk was beautifully decorated that i fell in love, it felt like a wedding area. Outside has lots of seating area and the main restaurant is gorgeous. The staff who were assigned to us were friendly, polite, and had a big smile all the time. I was really impressed with the entire service and food. Thank you.

I am an independent wedding celebrant and I have conducted many symbolic wedding ceremonies in the tipi at the Seven Stars over the last 2 years. Every single time, the tipi looks fantastic, the team are all friendly and welcoming, they help the ceremony to go smoothly, and the couples and their guests all have a fabulous time. So if you're looking for a relaxed, intimate space in which to say 'I do' to your favourite person, with excellent event management and fabulous food and service, have a look at this wonderful venue. I work at lots of wedding venues and this one is hard to beat 😊

Visited for lunch with my Nan and cousin. Staff were super friendly, and food was delicious. The surroundings were lovely, and very comforting and welcoming. Would recommend.

What a night….!! Held my Girlfriend’s 40th in the tipi, 60 people for a sit down meal and a party afterwards with over 100 guests. Leah and the barman we simply amazing, nothing was too much trouble and the whole event went like clockwork. We also got the weather that just elevated the whole thing to another level, giving people the chance to escape the music and sit outside and chat. Thank you so much guys, we will return x.

We attended for my birthday with our 3 week old son on our first outing for dinner. Carly looked after us, she was super attentive and really made our experience super easy. The food was exceptional as it always is. The chef (Connor) also found out about my birthday and went above and beyond by sending us a cake out as a treat to help us celebrate my birthday. He even decorated around the plate and put a candle on. The staff really went above and beyond as they always do!

Treated superbly well by the lovely Kim - we keep coming back here for several reasons - the food (delish!!) the service (tonight the wonderful Kim) and the atmosphere (always chill, always super comfy) - having moved to the area only a year ago this has cemented itself as my absolute favourite place to come to!

Lovely meal. Enjoyed our meal and had good service from the team. Lovely ambiance on a sunny Saturday. Weirdly quiet for the time of day and being a Saturday? Possibly as a direct result in being quite expensive for the average punter? Mid-high range prices in my opinion may be a put off for some. This is only my opinion and this may be fully justified by the owners etc. Other than that we really enjoyed the chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly and service. Many thanks

Anna was amazing. Her insight to personal preference of the starters I was torn between made my experience much more enjoyable. She was charismatic, bubbly & welcoming. Would come again just must say the lamb was more on well done side of “rare” but still an amazing dish.

A large group of us had a wonderful meal at the Dog and Doublet, while staying at a local Airb&b. We were treated excellently, by friendly, helpful and very attentive staff. Our food was delicious and came quickly, high quality and worth the money. Definitely recommended.

Went for a work meal. We pre ordered and food arrived quick, mine was the only meal that was wrong unfortunately but they cooked me the right meal fresh. It was a shame it arrived when everyone else was finishing. But otherwise no complaints. Food was brilliant.

Lovely well maintained and run inn. Great food and friendly service. Nice selection of real ales and other beers. Good sized courtyard will comfortable seating plus a beer garden area, and a field suitable for dog exercise.

6 of us for Sunday lunch. Food epic, service far from. Bar & kitchen staff stood near our table chatting very loudly and vividly about how someone died, how bored they are and who finishes their shift when. Every desert we had to take for a spoon separately with each one, they were obvs too busy nattering. Better waiting / bar staff on the day & I’d give it 5* food epic, location fab. Staff let it down on the day sadly, & I would expect better when paying a bill over £200+

I’ve wanted to visit The Dog and Doublet for a while — whenever we passed it looked so lovely with its big glass windows — but when we visited in August I was really shocked by how poor the food was on the day. Sadly, it was one of the worst Sunday roasts I’ve experienced. A couple at the table next to us, who’d been gifted a three-course meal, were audibly complaining about every course — which didn’t make for the nicest atmosphere, but unfortunately, we found ourselves agreeing. The beef was slimy and unappetising, the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were heavy and oily, the vegetables all had an unpleasant aftertaste — as though they’d been cooked in old oil. The carrots, in particular, had an acrid, star-anise-like flavour that completely overpowered the plate. One diner in our group of 3 (visiting family) ate so little that their meal was removed from the bill and I also barely touched mine. The burger was fine — far better than the roasts — but nothing amazing. I really hope it was just a bad day in the kitchen, but for the price we paid for a meal we didn’t enjoy, it’s not something an establishment can afford to repeat. I’m not sure we’d return and risk the same experience again.

Called in to break up a journey for lunch. We were shown straight to a table and offered drinks. There was a good variety on the menu including veg and vegan and the food was very good when it arrived. Pleasant staff and a nice location. Worth a detour if you're near by.

Visited recently for a catch up with my friends over a meal. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were professional and friendly. The meals were all served in a timely manner and were absolutely delicious. Happy to recommend and will be returning to enjoy their hospitality again soon.

I was excited to try this restaurant after reading the reviews and must commend the chefs as every dish was exceptional, with thoughtfully crafted flavors, especially the scallops and guinea fowl. However, for a venue aspiring to a more refined experience, especially given the price point, I was disappointed by several service missteps. While the staff were friendly, they mishandled wine, beer, and water bottles by gripping them at the neck and even touched the rim of the bottle and my glass with their fingers. Additionally, they were not attentive in refilling my water, and I often had difficulty getting their attention. Overall, it was a good experience, but there are definitely areas that need improvement.

Our second time here, first time trying the grazing menu. Food was absolutely outstanding. Louis made our experience special and memorable. Sam and Sadie were very efficient too. Totally recommended. Big thank you for our Instagram competition prize.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience here last night celebrating a belated anniversary. The food was incredible - our particular favourites were the 4 courses to start and the two desserts, but we weren’t disappointed with even one dish. The service was another highlight, everyone was very attentive and polite, however one of the service staff in particular (I apologise for not remembering her name!) went above and beyond with her drink recommendations, her attitude and conversation, answering any questions we had, and thoroughly helped elevate our experience even more! I cannot wait to come back again to try their different seasonal menus, this has been a real find and I really hope they get their Michelin star soon as they really deserve it. A great food experience for those that like and can afford high end dinning. We eat from the Spring 24 8 course taster menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. My particular highlights were the Coconut & Chili Broth as well as the Chalkstream Trout. The staff were young and enthusiastic and attentive. The dishes delivered at a good pace but never felt rushed. We spent about 3 hours all told at the table which didn't seem that long at the time helped by very comfy seats. There are some issues for me however with atmosphere, firstly the dinning room is was very noisy to the extent that it was difficult to maintain the conversation across the table with four people. It was also hard to hear the description of the food from the excellent staff when they brought out the dishes. The noise situation isn't helped by the large number of tables in dinning room, this also impeded them getting around our table. Lastly the lighting, I like to see what I'm eating, especially when its so beautifully presented, the small table lights don't do the food justice which is a pity because as you can see from my photo's the food looks and tastes amazing. Overall I would recommend a visit, but at this level of dinning and price point the devil really is in the detail and some of those small but important things that separate good from unforgettable were missing for me.

Absolutely amazing small restaurant serving high end delicious food. All of the courses tasted amazing in a fabulous setting. We also went for the wine pairing, which was really well crafted to go with each course. If your going for a special occasion I would definitely recommend eating here as well as paying the extra for the wine pairing as its well worth the extra cost.

Wow! What can I say! Amazing! It was truly an experience. The lady that served was very kind and attentive, explaining every dish and suggesting the best way to enjoy the dishes. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was amazing, from the spectacular flavours to the thought-out menu that takes you on the journey with spectacular prestation. I will be coming back! I recommend this restaurant without a doubt!!!

The Lighthouse's Summer 24' menu is extraordinary . We thoroughly enjoyed all dishes which went very well with the drinks pairing. Every dish, from the Japanese Milk Bread with butter to the Orkney Scallop with massaman and chili lime cashews, was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Overall, the Summer menu at The Lighthouse is a testament to their culinary excellence and I'm looking forward to returning again soon.

Our experience had its ups and downs, but it ultimately left us with memorable moments—especially in the realm of dessert. The true highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the Cardamom Panna Cotta, which was simply exceptional and one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. Traveling with a child can pose its own challenges, particularly in fine dining settings. While the restaurant didn’t have a dedicated kids’ menu, they graciously accommodated our young guest with a custom small portion meal—an effort we genuinely appreciated. Overall, it was a delightful experience

This is a great restaurant. Found in the Michelin Guide, it's punching well above it's weight! My Wife and I had wonderful service here, the staff are excellent and the food is superb. Whenever or wherever, we always love the tasting menus, they give an insight in to the world of the Chef and the Kitchen and almost always accompany them with a wine flight. They give you a taste of new and exciting wines you may never have tried, or may never try again. Get a great Sommelier with a tale to tell of it's origins and their own travels of discovery, it's always a great experience. The Boat does not disappoint and with a menu thats priced well.... Absolutely amazing food and very receptive /attentive service. Every course and little bites made exceptionally well. Food was like listening to a symphony orchestra. Mind you they worked as a team right in front of our eyes, which is brave considering the pressures of a Michelin starred restaurant. Bravo 👏

We had the tasting menu with wine pairing last night. The food and wine was faultless, easily comparible to any of the finest restaurants we have been to. The service was wonderful, attentive and everyone looked like they enjoyed their job. Fred on the bar took huge pride in making sure his area was clean and all the glasses were spotless. Great to see a young lad take such pride in his work. The restaurant decor is gorgeous, and so nice not to be all squashed in, highly recommend.

You can't go wrong at The Boat. From the minute you walk in you are made to feel welcome, and you realise this place is a bit special. Somehow each individual ingredient bursts with flavour like you've never tasted before, it's sheer alchemy.

We went for lunch and the tasting menu was beautifully presented and delicious - especially the Mackerel starter. It was quieter than I expected for a Saturday lunch time but probably the time of year. I hope this gem gets the custom it deserves!. We will definitely visit again.

I had great expectations for this place but was massively disappointed. The food was the most beautiful artwork I’ve seen other than skinner in Marbella. The service was amazing. It was that good that they added a service charge of nearly £40. If you claim to be a great restaurant and have great service then let the customer determine the tip. I knew it wasn’t going to be a cheap night out but I was so disappointed. The atmosphere was sterile and so forced. The time between courses was infinite and to be honest we were bored. Never again

Absolutely fantastic tasting menu at Little Seeds. The food was delicious and beautifully presented (so good that we forgot to take more photos!). The timing was spot on, allowing us to really enjoy each course without ever feeling like we were rushed or waiting. We will be talking about that Isle of Wight Tomato for a long time! Fantastic birthday meal recently. The staff were extremely attentive and polite. And their tasting menu is worth a try. Would definately advise people to have a meal there.

This feels like a restaurant that really tries to be a “Michelin” restaurant too hard. The plating is nice and the food looks pretty, but it tastes awful. The walnut and thyme brioche in particular is incredibly bitter, while the other courses are all far too rich and busy (presumably making up for the small portions). Feels like there’s too much going on in each course and the chef is doing what he thinks fancy food should be, without remembering to just make something tasty. We went on a Wednesday evening and there were maybe two other couples there the entire night, so not much atmosphere either. Never again.

Had a lovely evening at Little Seeds with my daughter. We’re both foodies and the food was divine. Every mouthful was a moment to savour. The staff were lovely and very professional they are a credit to whoever trained them and an asset to the business. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.

We visited Little Seeds last night to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary, and once again, it was an incredible experience. We’ve been several times now, and Sophie and the front-of-house team never fail to impress – their warm welcome immediately sets the tone for the evening. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, making it the perfect place to actually enjoy a conversation without having to raise your voice. The wine selection was excellent, and as always, the food was absolutely outstanding – every dish was spot on. Little Seeds has become our go-to spot for special occasions, and even though it’s an hour’s drive for us, it’s always worth the trip. A perfect way to celebrate our anniversary!

Excellent food, it really was quality and very tasty. The rice pudding was creamy and lush. Service was superb, friendly and fun. Lovely atmosphere and fire. Oscar and Dexter, the doggies who live there are very cute too. Toilets very clean with free ‘provisions’ for the ladies on the sink. We will revisit.

Brilliant pub, great selection of drinks, ample parking and THE BEST pie I have had in my entire life. Maybe a little pricey, but for the quality you absolutely cannot complain. The only minor issue I can possibly nitpick is it can get a little loud in the dining room purely due to layout of tables and the open nature - but this is 100% a five star location and you must visit!

Yet again another delicious meal at The Shrew. They never fail to impress, the flavours of the Harrissa Cauliflower were amazing. The burger was the best and the homemade pie couldn’t have been beaten by anyone.

Fabulous Sunday lunch here. Starter fish cake and main Roast chicken. Starter Parsnip soup and main Roast beef. Pudding fruit crumble. Service the best in a pub for ages. Great atmosphere. The decor is beautiful.

I booked the restaurant for two nights, for business dinners after a tradeshow. The restaurant and service was excellent. Great menu, everyone in our party of nine was happy. The team were very helpful and professional. The Tuesday night grill night deal was excellent value. We’ll be back next year again!

Had afternoon tea in the Orangery for my Birthday recently. Staff: Friendly, attentive, professional & well presented Speed of service: good Food: pretty average for the cost Meat free options: Yes Allergy accommodation: good (but need to phone in advance) Willingness to adapt menu: good Portion sizes: average (brought more sandwiches out also) Food presentation: standard nothing exceptional Cutlery: average Crockery: initially had quite standard small hotel mug & saucer that was a little disappointing, but mine was replaced with a more sophisticated set when I changed had a 2nd different tea and asked to change teacup. Glasses: standard at table, nicer one brought with my partners drink (purchased at extra cost as wasn't on afternoon tea manu) Drinks: the two teas I tried were of good standard Interior:beautifully bright room, full of natural light...they do have a separate restaurant & bar that isn't lit so well but has a cosy vibe Cleanliness: clean Table decor: quaint natural flowers Busy or not: reasonably for a Friday afternoon Outdoor space: river to look over with lots of greenery & some trees Lavatory: good standards & spacious Parking: plenty, but most a couple of minutes walk away (see photos attached)

Wow, what a place! In a stunning setting, we booked the Orangery not realising that they also did pub food, but no regrets. The atmosphere and restaurant wowed, and initially a little hesitant as to what the price might get like (it's Michelin starred) we were quickly reassured by looking at the menu, and set out to enjoy ourselves. They do a lovely vegetarian and vegan menu, and we opted for mains with breads to start, and weren't disappointed. This is wonderful fine dining. As the food was so beautifully presented (and came with a delicious amuse bouche as a surprise) we really couldn't resist going for dessert as well! Service was faultless and delightful. Definitely going back again!

Absolutely brilliant, well renovated yet very old site turned into a gastropub. Excellent menu, phenomenal outdoor area, seating and surroundings, brilliant staff, very very cosy old world charm. Excellent car park... Nit-picking -> car park was full, had to park off site, too damn busy, they had run out of ham, and the steak sandwich was very full of gristle... Not enough to ruin it, highly recommend going.

Such a beautiful place for an event. Went here for two of my proms and never dissapoint. Food was lovely and certainly didn't dissapoint, drinks are slightly on the expensive side but standard for such a high class resturaunt. Really enjoyed my evening with the polite staff and amazing party. Thanks!
