The 22 best spots for souvlaki in Naxos

If I could rate this 6 stars I would. Every single dish was exquisite and among the best renditions of each dish I could have. The souvlaki is by far the star of the show. The meat is so tender and drips the meat juices over the potato. The meat is cooked perfectly, charred so well, and melts in your mouth. I could go through every single dish and tell you just how amazing it is, but my words wouldn’t do it justice. You should know that whatever you order, it will be prepared and cooked with the highest quality. I was with 3 Greeks who also vouched for how good every dish is comparable to the best restaurants in the villages. I don’t think I can describe just how amazing each dish is, this is probably the best tavern experience one can have. Do yourself a favor and get a reservation here.

An unforgettable dining experience. A friend suggested Doukato and when we walked into the outdoor seating area we knew it would be a special evening. The atmosphere is electric and romantic. Our dishes were very well plated and tasted so amazing that I commented to our server we wanted to hire the chef. The service is friendly and very efficient. They also give you a dessert on the house that tastes like key lime pie. Doukato is a fabulous place in great Greek tradition.

Best restaurant on the island! Dined here twice after trying it out our first night and subsequently trying several other top-rated restaurants (To Elliniko, Scirocco, and Taverna) on Reddit. I liked this place because the dishes weren’t too salty (which was an issue at other restaurants). The fig and pomegranate salad is the best (got it twice— the fig vinaigrette is amazing!), and the swordfish souvlaki is good too. The naxian fried potatoes that come with the main dishes are delicious!! These potatoes were MADE to be fried! The complementary lemon flavoured dessert is a nice touch and a much-appreciated deviation from the typical alcohol shot/alcoholic desserts we got at other restaurants. We don’t drink so thought this was more family/everyone-friendly. Atmosphere is romantic and peaceful, and the mama cat with her two kittens running around are so cute! The one thing though is that the service is a bit slow and inattentive (to get the bill, pay, etc.)… but I’m not sure if that’s just a Greek custom to not seem rude by asking customers if they want the bill. No reservation needed in late Sept/early Oct.

Make a reservation if you can! It gets very busy. We got the saganaki and the chicken souvlaki, and they were absolutely delicious. Service was amazing as well, they explained to us that the saganaki is made from 5 different cheeses in naxos (and as we know, naxos is famous for its cheese and milk) and the jam is handmade! Chicken souvlaki was gigantic, it’s written as a 2 pax portion in the menu so would recommend sharing. Highly recommended!

This place is incredible! Our favorite and best meal in Naxos! We got the stuffed mushrooms, watermelon salad and lamb chops and every bite was insanely delicious. If you are in Naxos, this is a must eat place! Ambiance and vibe is very cool, great service and delicious food!!

We showed up without a reservation and were given a seat inside without a delay. They kindly served us and helped us choose what we wanted to share as a meal. We ended up getting a pomegranate and fig salad, the spicy meatballs dish which came with yogurt, potatoes and pita (Giaourtlou). It was situated on a side street with a stunning terrasse. That said, sitting inside was also very beautiful. We highly recommend!

Doukato restaurant in Naxos city is a very charming Greek restaurant. The décor is quintessential Greek courtyard with white washed walls and splashes of colour from the vines and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The food is Greek traditional with a serious flare and taste sensation. The menu is very varied and extensive. Amazing salads, grills, seafood and sides. With so much variety it is difficult to choose. The staff are helpful , friendly and very efficient. The prices are very reasonable. This has been one of the best dining experiences we have had so far in Greece. A must try if you are in Naxos. Making a reservation is highly recommended as it is very popular.

This is our favorite breakfast spot in Greece. A beautiful selection of breakfast and brunch plates of the freshest and most wholesome ingredients. Every dish was delicious and made with love by the charming owners. And a great selection of local craft beers. Prices were extremely reasonable and they open 8a-5p. A must visit while you are in Naxos.

This is the most special spot. I am gluten free and so even the gluten free options alone are incredible and a reason to stop in!! We ate here everyday of our holiday in Naxos and will come back and do the same next time we are here ! The most amazing service, people and food!! Could not recommend more, please make sure you eat here!! I can’t wait to come back! This is such a special place that is more than just somewhere to eat!!!

I was staying in the neighbourhood & would walk by here a few times each day. Finally, I stopped in for breakfast & since that day, I came here every morning for breakfast.(the next 8 days) The owner Yiota welcomes you with a smile, great service, fresh ingredients, great variety to choose from. Every dish was delicious! Highly recommend!

The best food on Naxos! By the time we departed Naxos, we might have been the most sad to miss out on our daily morning breakfast date at Hellas with the lovely Yiota. The food is fresh, healthy, with hearty portions and while definitely Greek food, Yiota and her team take a creative twist on popular dishes. Like the March 25 sandwich- it is traditional to have fried cod on Greece’s Independence Day, but they wrap it in a house-made, fluffy light Bao Bun with beet pesto, and garlicky potato spread. It was transcendental- delicious! Every breakfast item is also the best we’d ever had. Additionally the coffee is stellar, the drink selection fun and varied. We ate here every day on Naxos. I miss Nos Hellas food and Yiota’s welcoming smile and departing hug. This might be the number 1 reason I return to Naxos.

Our favourite food spot of our entire holiday. Fantastic food and service. We dined here 6 times in 5 days and were never disappointed. Very affordable breakfast and lunch meals! Great gluten free options. The Black Angus Burger was 10/10. We will come back to Naxos just for Nostimon Hellas!!!

Amazing restaurant! We came here three times, the food was always delicious and we just had to keep trying more things and it was all so good! The owner Yiota is just lovely, so welcoming and kind. She was super fun to talk to and gave us some super good recommendations for traveling around Naxos. Would highly recommend eating here! Breakfast, brunch, lunch, late lunch - so many options!!

A lovely woman runs this brunch place. Yummy, creamy scrambled eggs, fresh pressed orange juice, strong coffee and amazing sandwiches. Simple flavors, fresh, classic — YUM!

The sunset view here is absolutely beautiful, especially from the terrace seats. I had a lamb stew with orzo, but it was a bit cold and the sauce was plain and quite salty😿. I did enjoy the free dessert, which was very tasty. The atmosphere was lovely, and maybe I will try a different dish next time.

Boulamatsis is a fantastic traditional spot right by the Naxos port—ideal if you arrive by ferry around noon or afternoon. It’s a cozy, family-run place with sea views and a warm, homemade feel. The Soutzoukakia (meatballs) and Naxian Rosto (garlicky pork casserole) are absolutely worth trying. Friendly staff, soft Greek music, and a complimentary dessert make the experience even sweeter. A perfect way to start your Naxos journey with authentic flavors and local charm.

Fantastic meal with authentic recipes. Had a mixed souvlaki, green beans, and potatoes with mince. Way too much food but too good to resist. Great service and vibe. Recommended.

Lovely to sit back from the main street in the port and enjoy the sunset without the hustle and bustle. The food was beautiful - we had the broad beans, moussaka and Greek salad. Very generous servings, nice flavour. Go for the ambience.

Freshest salad and fruit I’ve eaten since arriving in Greece. Their little hot pots were delicious. Lots of options on the menu and the staff were wonderful every-time. Consistently great. Perfect serving sizes and value for money. I’m staying in a villa here and every meal has been amazing. So many people outside the hotel stopping here throughout the day for the great food and views. Easy walking distance to Hawai and Alykó beaches. I honestly cannot rate this place high enough 🇦🇺🫶

Lovely food! But massive portions. Hubby and I definitely didn't need a mains each. One mains and salad would have been sufficient! They had live music on a Saturday which was good fun to watch. Sadly we didn't get to try the liquor shot that others were given at the end of the meal.

If I had to describe culinary perfection in one word, I would use “Faros”. We fell in love with Faros 7 years ago, when we discovered Naxos. And now, a total of 50 weeks spent on the island later, it remains our favorite. The food is authentic, fresh, delicious! Only a family owned restaurant could ever achieve this quality and perfection. Faros is not a business. It is passion and cooking for everybody as if they are part of their family. So many thanks to Stefanos for welcoming us year after year!

Excellent food and service! My husband broke a plate when the bottle slipped from his hand and they were very gentle handing the situation. Besides the service that was TOP the food was delicious (best tomato croquettes ever) and the beer was super cold! Do not miss this place. It’s a gem!

Probably the best meal we’ve had in Naxos. The quality of the food was fresh and unique, and even though some flavor pairings were hit or miss, the execution and the originality made it an interesting experience. The service was accommodating, fast, and kind. Island time is usually slow but Barozzi was prompt. The atmosphere is gorgeous and the resutarant was clean and classy.

What an amazing dining experience. We got the 5-course meal plus wine pairing with 6 wines and were thoroughly impressed. Each dish had some serious attention to detail and brought a new spin to some classics like a Greek salad. The highlight of the meal for us was the goat which was melt in your mouth good. We each got a different wine pairing too which I would recommend as it gave us around 10 different wines from across Greece to try. Don’t worry about the price, it’s all well worth it!

Not often you are wondering the streets of a foreign island looking for something to eat (nothing special, just local fresh food), and you come across a true hidden gem. The restaurant itself looks like an art gallery, very modern with an elegant touch, simply put a very pleasant place to be (regardless of the exquisite meal that’s coming ahead). The service was fenomenal. Gave us very good wine recommendations and were very accommodating with my nut allergy (I have been to places where the chef would not alter his/her creations and you would simply need to skip the dish). They only serve Greek products (from the bread, to the olive oil, to the wine and the raw materials that make every single dish), and I must say they surpassed all expectations. The wine menu (while only offering Greek options), was varied and quite original. We started with an Orange wine (refreshing and crisp - Kind of a mix between white and rose with a light citrus touch), and continued with a delicious Syrah (very flavourful - one glass was enough for the full meal, and kept the flavour pretty well). The food was extraordinary (top 10-15 I have had in the world). We went with the 7 course tasting menu, which was the best decision we could have possibly made. An image is worth a thousand words (so see a pic of each dish). The key highlight was how the chef was able to create an incredible “espuma” that accompanied several dishes, which was very light and at the same time incredibly tasty. A mix between foam and purée (I am calling it foamée). Surprisingly, the restaurant hasn’t been caught by the Michelin guide and is yet to be awarded at least 1 very well deserve star! It was a perfect unexpected experience which makes it even more memorable. Worth the trip to Naxos just to try this place. We will be back!

While food look pretty. Most of the dishes has fundamental critical errors when eating. Makes a lot sense y why the restaurant was so empty on a Friday night. I sound like such a hater, but appearance cannot compensate for bad flavors. Spent $259+ after tip. Just spend that money on Elliniko, so much more worth it.

The service is excellent. The food were very creative and presentation was well done! We both enjoyed this fine dinning experience, appreciated the pace on the food delivery, as they always arrive at the right moment. We ordered 2 different 5-courses meal, they delivered 8 dishes to us(3desserts in total). Thank you so much!! It started with Amuse bouche (very tasty), We LOVE the Naxian Beef, Grilled Squid, Slow Roasted Goat (so soft!), they are all must try!!! The dessert was amazing, it brought a perfect ending to the meal. Wine was very very good as well. It definitely worth the money!

Amazing restaurant highly recommend !! We made a reservation for this restaurant our last day in the island. The food is amazing, the service was above and beyond, and we even got a limoncello sorbet on the house. Definitely recommend having a reservation. We thankfully made one, there was a line of people waiting when we got there. We ordered the Dolmades, Zucchini Balls, Stifado (rabbit), and Sikoti (beef liver). Portions of the main entree are big. All of them were amazing, definitely recommend the Zucchini Balls, super tasty !

Wow what a treat this meal was!! Such a warm welcome from the staff - great service, so much fun. The food itself - absolutely delicious. I will think about that beef with orzo for a long time, but everything was just delicious. Thankyou for having us!! Hope to return.

We stopped in without a reservation and had to wait less than 15 minutes to get a table street side. The service was so quick and courteous. We asked for their opinions on how much to order if we wanted to share everything and were immensely satiated. We got vinegar octopus (cold dish), an arugula salad with balsamic glaze and Naxian cheese which was delicious, and the moussaka that we ate so quickly that we didn’t get a picture 😅

I visited the restaurant based on a recommendation, and it was such a great experience that I came back the very next day. The food was absolutely delicious – I had dolmades that were probably the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the whole experience was simply the best!

I ordered the baby goat. It was absolutely wonderful and the portion was generous. I could not finish it and had to so takeaway. The Tzatziki was so refreshing but the best was quite tough. Still the best meal I’ve had in Greece. They also served orange cake as complimentary after bill. One thing, It was an outdoor restaurant, we went in daytime so it was pretty hot. Would recommend to come for dinner.

Great restaurant with an amazing atmosphere, attention to detail. Very romantic and picturesque garden/terrace. Great local food and delicacies. We visited it four years ago and had to come back this time again to check if it was still good. While it got super touristy and packed with American tourists, the overall experience was very good.

I don’t usually review places right after visiting them - maybe many months pass after I get a reminder do I write a review, but today’s visit To Elliniko merits an immediate shout out, and sharing with the world what a worthy visit this was. They had the best food we’ve had in Greece so far (including having been taken out to eat by Greek friends in Athens), they had the most generous portions, and above all they had a superb family friendly atmosphere and vibe that just made you jive with the place. We’ve been meaning to come here all week (we’re staying a bit far) but made it today with our 6 month old baby, a little weary about potential rain… the staff were attentive, they kept giving kind smiles to our baby, and the owner even offered to carry him for 10 mins while we ate (he was a bit fussy got his first tooth yesterday)… we’ve experienced first hand how much Greeks dote over babies here, it this was above and beyond 5 star service. The atmosphere is unpretentious yet refined, the taste is five stars yet the portions are very very generous, especially given that the prices are quite fair - we had the moussaka, which is easy to mess up, and this was easily the best I’ve ever tasted! My husband who finds lamb gamey, said he’d eat lamb every day if it tasted like the grilled lamb chops we ordered. We still had leftovers to bring home. Do yourselves a favor and run, don’t walk to this beautiful, family-owned restaurant if you’re lucky to be in Naxos. The many reviews don’t lie. Gracias por una linda experiencia.

Excellent meal with a sassy cat friend! Loved the vegetarian moussaka and the Naxian salad was perfect. Best dolmas I had in Greece (order then for sure!). The seating, service, and general vibe was great. 10/10, definitely recommend coming by. I can see why so many locals recommended it!

We went back here twice during our stay. The service is great plenty of staff on hand. We have the whitebait appetiser, beetroot salad & lamb chops (4) which comes with roasted vegetables & potatoes. We shared & was so full. The portions are generous. Super tasty. Chops are €17. We had 1lt of local white wine at €14, cheapest yet. You can't go there if it is raining as it's open air, very small undercover area. Thank you for proper food.

I was recommended this restaurant from my accommodation place as I was looking for somewhere special to go for my birthday. I was not disappointed. The food was amazing. I had the Kleftiko and it was like unwrapping a birthday present. The lamb was melt in your mouth and the flavours were so good. My companion had the Pork Rosto and it was equally tender and flavourful. We both left with full bellies. I highly recommend.

Had my final dinner on Naxos here right next to my hotel. Simply chose a dish with cooking paper wrapping some meat and potato to cook, some bread and half liter of wine. Over estimated myself as I still had to pack later the night, and I was a bit too tipsy to do it efficiently afterward. The dish tasted fine, and it was lovely seasoned to the spot.

An excellent experience at Meltemi. The beet salad was superb. Eggplant fans, we had the special moussaka, baked in a ceramnic pot, and the kalogiros with veal, Naxian gruyere and bechamel on top. Try their own bottled Meltemi wine, an agiorgitiko, which was good at 20 euros for 750ml.

Wonderful, authentic restaurant that offers lots of different traditional dishes. Prompt and friendly service, and we loved the ambience on the outdoor terrace. The orange cake for dessert is incredible!

During our first dinner there I had the stuffed tomatoes with rice and spices with potatoes appetizer for my main meal and a tomato and cucumber salad with olives capers and red onions. It was quite good. They had a few other vegan options on the menu including a roasted vegetable dish(Briam), roasted eggplants and many salads. However, I gave 3 stars instead of 4 because tonight we got take away since my husband was sick and ordered the green salad, which was great, ( should have gotten two) and the rocket Parmesan salad and when we got home the "rocket Parmesan salad" was boiled unseasoned greens" . I assume the put the wrong order in the bag as it was supposed to contain lettuce, Parmesan, sundried tomatoes, croutons, olives, capers, and balsamic. So perhaps just check your container before leaving. Too bad as it sounded good 🫤.

Had a ‘snack’ and a beer coming off of the beach today. Very friendly service and excellent food, we just had some bread olives and a sharing platter, but it was excellent.

The most beautiful place we visited (me, two kids 16/21) on Naxos. It’s on a hill besides an old watermill. The view is truly breathtaking! Nothing like it. But as if that isn’t enough… this family restaurant has real soul. Being there, you feel like coming home, by the warm welcome, not only in words but in every sense of the way, mirrored in the eyes of the host and the gentle, kind waitress. I can not describe it otherwise then that we felt loved and part of this family energy that really want to share their love for food and culture. This is one you just HAVE to visit! For romance, for authentic Greek prepared food (by mother & son), for the feeling that we are all part of one human family. “We are the leaves of one tree and the flowers of one garden” 🌸🇬🇷🌍

An absolute gem, no tourist food here. Proper top end Greek food with a twist. The Salad was full of fresh ingredients, the Meatballs in a potato puree were amazing and Mom's Homemade Pies were Yummy! Our Host was very friendly and even gave us a guided tour of the old Windmill, which has been fully restored. Last but not least, this has to be one of the best views if not the best on the island!

The kitchen is definitely one of the best on Naxos. The food and the view are really beautiful. The service is very friendly and attentive. It's definitely worth the journey, even if it takes some time to get there by car. I would definitely recommend it. If you want to have dinner there, it's a good idea to bring a jacket, as it can get a little cold in the evenings at this height. This is especially true at the start or end of summer, after sunset.

Great pork steak with apple and potato mousse, the slow cooked beef was delicious with tomatoes and onion and potato puree. I recommend the pistachio dessert with cinnamon crust. We were a bit sad to not find some dishes on the menu. Hoping to try them next time.

This place is magical! They welcomed us like family as we approached. The service was very good, the food was delicious and everyone was so kind! And that view!! The view is absolutely breathtaking! After dinner they gave us the history and tour of the windmill, which was quite fascinating. I cannot recommend this place enough!

This beautiful little spot just opened a week ago, and it’s already a hidden gem worth discovering. My wife and I stumbled upon it and ended up having one of the most memorable evenings of our trip. The atmosphere is intimate and relaxed, with a cozy local vibe that feels both authentic and welcoming. The food was delicious – homemade, traditional dishes full of flavor and prepared with care. Prices were very fair, especially considering the quality. Service was exceptional; the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and were genuinely kind. One of the highlights was the adjacent windmill, where they offer a short tour as part of the experience – a lovely touch that added to the charm. And the sunset… just breathtaking. We sat with a glass of wine, great music in the background, and watched the sky change colors over the mountains and sea. It felt like time slowed down. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something special but unpretentious. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

Great restaurant if you are looking for traditional Greek cuisine with great service! It has been recommended by a local. The location is great, by the water. The food is excellent, I had the imam (aubergine dish), excellent, big portion! When I wanted to leave, they called me back to offer me a tradition dessert that was absolutely fabulous and a drink! The service was exceptional, the waiters had a great energy, very communicative, looking after you. They have really good vibes! Highly recommend ++

The whole experience was wonderful. The wait staff were welcoming and attentive. All the food was delicious. I had mackerel, and my husband ordered pork chops. We gobbled them up too quickly to take photos. However, we had a Naxian salad with goat cheese - our favorite salad while on Naxos - and beets and greens as an appetizer- yum. Both I remembered to photograph. Highly recommend having0 dinner at Irini's while watching the sunset. Doesn't get any better!!

Absolutely delicious. Moussaka, lamb chops, and grilled bread with olive oil were maybe the best I’ve had in my whole entire life. It’s on the water, so beautiful sunset views, and they’ve trained vines over their whole ceiling. Service was quick and friendly.

This restaurant is close to the Naxos port. And it was perfect coz our ferry was delayed and we were looking for a place to eat. We had the Naxos home made potato salad which was so refreshing. We also had spicy feta- which was perfect (has a slight salty taste to it). The kicker of the meal was the lamb in tomato sauce. It was ammmmaazzzzzinnng. The lamb was well cooked - melted in our mouth and was falling apart. So perfect. They also gave us complimentary fruit salad with apple and oranges dunked in honey. It was such a perfect meal.

Gorgeous place! The staff are all so lovely and fun to talk to, that’s what convinced me to dine here. I got the Saganaki Mussels and they were delicious!!!! The atmosphere is also great, it feels like you are tucked away but can still people watch. Plus at the end I got a delicious dessert on the house! Fantastic experience 10/10

What a find! To(The) Souvlaki tou Máki. Old school authentic Gyro. Patates (chips) like Yiayia (Nana, Nonna, Grandma) makes them. Ridiculously cheap prices, right in the heart of Naxos… Fed 1 adult and 2 children…

A family-run restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The price-quality ratio is incredible, featuring very fair prices for large portions. The food is homemade and delicious. Highly recommended.

Fantastic local little Sovlaki spot. Gyrios was on point and they helped us to select the right one, even customising the meal for us. The young girls here run a very well oiled operation. Best service I’ve had in Europe! Its great to see. Other restaurants could learn a thing or two from these experienced servers, who must be no older than 14? Impressive!

Great gyros! Served with a cold beer, it was just what we needed. "Atmosphere"doesn't really apply, it's a street shop with a few tables inside and on the sidewalk. But hey, it's Greece, isn't this what you want?! Oh, and great prices, cost for two was 16 euros.

3 generations of family run business. Good for grill and Gyros. Very friendly and generous service.

A traditional greek family restaurant. Extremely nice setting in back garden. Excellent sword fish fillet with choiced cooked potatoes. Kleftiko is different where ever you go. My favourite is in Tinos town, but this one is acceptable. Red house wine was ok. All in all a place we can recomnend.

The sea bass was the best we ever had, very very tasty, super fresh, the service is good, and this place has a nice quiet atmosphere, it feels cool despite the high temperature in Naxos. Reasonable prices.

Not the best gyro we had in Greece. They put way too much mayo/mustard sauce and it cheapened the taste of the gyro wrap. Usually I’ve loved that sauce at other places but here, it made it taste like cheap fast food. The meat was juicy though and it wasn’t bad overall, just not great. Pretty good price. We also got a kebab skewer which was decent. It also took forever for our food to come, one of the slowest services we’ve experienced here.

Amazing value for money. We left feeling so full and possibly over ordered from such an extensive menu. (4 dishes between a couple and a seperate drink each) 🤭 Takeaway slightly cheaper. Worth the price and portions so less is more!!

Ate here everyday while in Naxos! The staff is super attentive and the food is so tasty😭😭 I also think that they offer quite a good amount of good quality food for a very reasonable price!! I especially loved the chicken gyro and the burger, but the moussaka was DELICIOUS

Absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and everything came out surprisingly fast. One standout you have to try is the feta cheese with honey covered in sesame seeds—100/10! Sweet, savory, crispy, and creamy all at once. I’d come back just for that dish alone. Highly recommend!

We grabbed a bite to eat at Yasouvlaki! on our first day in Naxos. We servers were super lovely and guided us on how much to order. The food came quickly. We were sat outside on the waterfront, protected by tarps to cut the wind. We ordered pork gyro pitas, the dolmades, Greek salad and the truffle mayo and gaviera (guyerre)cheese potatoes. Although we we stuffed (I can confirm it was slightly too much haha), we had so much FOMO about leaving leftover that we sat there even longer to try and have what we could!

Amazing food, first time ever had skepasti with pork souvlaki inside. Really good food, meat tastes amazing. Also we were watching the sunset while eating. This place is really worth a visit!

I stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner because it is right on the beach in a beautiful spot at Agia Anna. Since it is the end of the season I had my pick of seats so I initially chose to sit outside but then moved inside as the sun started shining too much in my face. Both seats had beautiful sea views. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice. It is open to the beach and the decor reflects its beachy location. They had low music playing - covers of well-known tracks done in a laid-back style, which suited the place. I had the pork souvlaki and it was good. I don't have any other souvlaki experience to compare it to (I don't usually eat pork unless I know it's free range), so I've included a photo for reference. The waiter was young and doing his best from what I could tell. He wasn't particularly friendly but it is the end of the season after all. Overall I would recommend this place to others and I would eat here again myself.

We passed by this place earlier in the day on our way to the beach, checked out the menu, and decided to come back for dinner with the whole family. We started with two Spritz, juices and a plate of fresh anchovies with herbs and pink peppercorns; which were super refreshing and flavorful. For mains, my wife had the grilled squid, while I tried the stuffed squid with tomato, green pepper, and cheese; which gave a bit of a twist and unique taste. The kids went for the carbonara pasta, which they really enjoyed (and they're quite some experts!). The sunset setting added so much to the experience. The service was professional and kind, though not the most cheerful. A smile or a bit more warmth would’ve made it feel even more special, but everything else was on point. All in all, a great spot for a relaxed evening by the sea with solid food and a beautiful view.

Great place to sit by the beach and have a meal! The water was crystal clear and the food was great. We had some drinks and the waitress was very attentive and friendly. We had a salad with octopus, calamari, and sundried tomato, and a fava bean hot appetizer. We would love to come here again!

Our family and I were looking for the best seafood restaurant around Agios Prokopios and we found Palatia Beach Restaurant. We had the best experience dining at the beach, next to the ocean, overseeing the lights at nearby Paros island while treating ourselves to the most exquisite Naxos cuisine. We had the Guna fish, the shrimp with feta cheese and for my non-seafood lover kid, the pork slouvaki. We are going back for more tomorrow, can’t wait!

We really love this place, and every time we’re on Naxos, we visit (several times). We always reserve a table on the upper deck, outside the restaurant and above the beachside tables. Although passersby do walk by here, the view of the sea and the sunset behind the mountains of the neighboring island Paros is simply breathtaking! We love the atmosphere, the relaxed, attentive, and personal service, the excellent Greek wines (and Ouzo & Raki), and the delicious food! This time we had stuffed vine leaves, saganaki with sesame, honey & bacon, and for the main course, grilled stuffed calamari. Next time we visit Naxos, we will definitely come back here again…

This place is delicious! The fried cheese, steamed mussels, white sangria... Everything was so good!

An absolute favourite. We tried other restaurants but kept returning to Palatia as the quality of their food and variety of their menu was exceptional. I really can't get my head around how the chefs and the service staff together serve such quality food to so many so quickly. Scorpion fish, rib eye steak and prawn risotto all favourites. Oristos was such a friendly and professional waiter.

First of all, it is located by the beach so there is a nice breeze. They have indoor and outdoor seating and it’s very comfy and cozy. The food was very nice. Was a little disappointed with the price for moderate portions. But otherwise the staff was very respectful and the food came very fast. Would definitely recommend this place if price is not a problem.

Came to enjoy the sun-beds & beach for the day and I really enjoyed myself. The beds are clean and far enough apart that you’re not on top of fellow patrons. Matthew was the beach attendant the day I went and he did an excellent job - items I ordered, both food & drinks, came out quickly and he was very attentive. I had several Pink Fizz cocktails - they were delicious. Great quality and decent pricing!

We came here 4/4 days we spent in Naxos! The atmosphere is picturesque and you can’t really beat it. The food was amazing, the first day we had slow cooked lamb and it had us hooked and trying the rest of the menu. The staff was accommodating and very pleasant. Overall a must visit if you’re in Naxos. (The cats are so sweet and sleep 99% of the time you’re there)

Had an amazing day and evening here. This place will make you fall in love with Naxos. The sunbeds were chic and comfortable. Sat in the first row. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the food and drinks were SO good. Amazing Aperol spritz. My husband loved the Mai Tai. We enjoyed the grilled chicken (so juicy and great char) and Naxos fries (great portion for sharing) at the beach. I was surprised at how nice the presentation was for the food. Great views on the beach plus great outdoor seating and an indoor area where it’s easy to work. Cute boutique and market in the back. Easy to get comfortable. Not crowded like cedar cafe. 100/10 recommend!!! We will be back.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, because we only had drinks at the beach, but those were really good! It sounds totally fair to me that you need to spend 45€ to enjoy the sunbeds all day. The service was really good bei Matheus and made the days even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

What an amazing meal we had a Yazoo, our friends from Switzerland recommended this place and it did not disappoint. Apart from the amazing setting that the Plaka beach offers, Yazoo served what can only be described as the best piece of pork I have ever had in my life (and I eat a lot of it!). Come hungry because the Tomahawk pork steak will fill up two average size eaters. Do not over cool it please, it’s worth a tinge of pink to keep the succulence of the meat. There are honourable mentions for the Watermelon Salad and the Seared Tuna Steak which were full of delightful flavours. Thank you again Yazoo, we then spent the afternoon sleeping it off on their complimentary sun loungers on the beach. What a day that was, the best of our 10 days so far on the Greek Islands.

Loved the place! We spent a few hours here one hot afternoon in Naxos. All their cocktails tasted amazing. Their milkshakes were top notch too. The view was beautiful. Their house cats were adorable

Highly Recommend! Busy at night! Will wait for table… can’t wait, take out and sit by the sea and enjoy the water with sunset, no people no problem. Get the pork gyro plate for major meat! With a cold Greek beer. Delicious tavern on the Naxos island… maybe the best who knows… it is popular for a reason. Love the head mama in charge. She is sweet accommodating, hard working and no nonsense. You got to love it!

Very solid gyro! The fries and veggies were fresh! The onions were a little stringy though so keep that in mind. The meat could be a little more juicy/fatty but this was nearly a perfect gyro to me. I also really liked the cheese in their salad.

Absolutely delicious food and great service! The Greek salad was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and my partner's Yiaourtlou kebab was just as tasty perfectly seasoned and cooked. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food arrived super fast. We were pleasantly surprised by the value: only €28, including a large bottle of sparkling water. The restaurant is just a short walk from the beach, and the prices were much better than nearby places. A top choice for quality, service, and value highly recommended!

Great place to get authentic greek gyros and souvlaki. Pitas are also very tasty and so is tzatziki. Service is impeccable and waiters are cool. We went there almost every day two years ago and are happy to see they are still a top place on Naxos island again this year!

Great chicken fillet and lamb chops. Amazing food overall. We came here once and had to return again while in Naxos. The service is great, atmosphere very pleasant. This place is packed and there’s a good reason why. One of the best kebabs in agios prokopios. Thank you very much!

We were in Naxos for 4 nights and we ate at Lefto’s each and every night. After we tried the chicken and pork gyros on night 1 we were hooked. The kebabs (especially the Yiaourtlou Kebab) are out of this world! Most importantly, the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. You must come here if you like incredible food and incredible people!

Absolutely by far the best restaurant on Naxos island! The food is amazing, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Everything was so tender and honestly cooked to perfection. The food was so amazing we had to come back for a second night during our 5 day stay on the island. We enjoyed the lamb and gnocchi and caramelized pork with potatoes as our main dishes both nights we went because they were so good! The staff is so delightful and friendly, and if you sit outside you will most definitely get your fix of cat-friends to come visit you, don't worry they won't bother you or jump on the tables or anything- very well behaved neighborhood cats just like the rest of Greece! I recommend making reservations as this is a very good and popular spot, especially if you would like to dine outside. If you do not make reservations, go early (anytime before 8:30pm) and you will most likely be accommodated with a table as most reservations are for a bit later (at least in our experience)!

Absolutely phenomenal dining experience! We tried the Naxian salad and lamb shank - both were simply to die for. Our multilingual waitress was extraordinary - knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly patient, even when dealing with difficult customers. Her recommendations were spot-on, and you can tell she genuinely cares about guests having an amazing experience. The home-cooked Naxian cuisine here is authentic and unforgettable. Make reservations and come hungry for some of the best traditional Naxian food you’ll find.

Lovely little gem. We’ve had to wait ten minutes or so for a table but sat on the bench outside with a glass of wine whilst we waited. Setting is stunning and the food, absolutely gorgeous! Staff are so lovely and welcoming.

Lithos was beautiful to come across in the Old Naxos town. Unfortunately i found the wine gravy very overpowering for the Octopus dish and my partners Pork was dry. The restaurant has dreams of being a touch fancy but unable to pull it off. Our waiter was loud and bossy. Quite off putting after finding what we thought was going to be a quiet little restaurant.

Tucked away on a quiet corner of the Old Market in Naxos Town, Lithos is a refined and yet simple place. Menu is short but thoughtful and local dishes are 're-imagined' to bring new and delicious flavours. Shrimp risotto was quite perfect: gorgeous colour, rice exact and nutty and exquisite taste overall. Service is excellent.

Traditional Greek taverna with some modern twists. They offer fresh grilled fish but expect to pay 25+ euros per fish (sea bass / sea bream). If you want fish, I'd suggest sharing one and getting two appetizers. The roasted pork in fig sauce was delicious if you are not into seafood. They also gave us a small free dessert at the end. Beautiful views including the sunset, however, check the wind before deciding to sit outside. During a windy day, you can watch the kitesurfers. Super friendly staff. Dog friendly but watch out for the cats!

The restaurant is excellent, especially for watching the sunset – the view is absolutely beautiful. The moussaka was truly the best of the best. I highly recommend it! They also provide you with a dessert and a starter on the house. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.

Incredible food. So many fresh veg dishes (which was a nice treat) and salads. Not so common on the island. Affordable prices and excellent flavors. The beach and sea views off the patio are worth the trip alone. We came on a windless day, then popped out for a swim. 👌

While the restaurant's location, views, and service were exceptional, the food was average. The pastissio and moussaka were ok. The quality of the food seemed good but it was lacking in some flavor. The little appetizer we ordered was almost like a tuna salad and was a little below average, I wouldn't recommend it. Perhaps other items on the menu offer more flavor.

An unsuspecting contender for our favourite meal. After having a really bad experience waiting to be served elsewhere, we came here. The staff were so attentive. We had the lamb, moussaka and gigantes. The lamb was the best I’d had in 2 weeks in Greece. The gigantes were insanely good too. Great food, nice views and friendly service. Wish we found it earlier.

Great for everything from brunch to evening cocktails. Very chill vibe and friendly, helpful staff (shoutout to Anna!) A rare spot in Greece where it’s easy to relax with friends or pop open a laptop/tablet to get some work done—of course, in a leisurely way. Very nice patio on the back as well with plenty of shade and fans to stay cool.

Brunch was impressive. Great flavours. Nacían scrambled eggs with tomatoes and Naxian sausage. Hand cut fried fries...yummy. Savory crepe was delicious. So was the eggs Benedict and the chicken burger. Coffee aromatic. Large variety for every taste. Service great.

A really good spot for breakfast! The price-to-quality ratio is excellent, and the portion sizes are just right. I’m taking off one star because the poached eggs came out more like hard-boiled, and we had to wait a bit longer than expected for both the food and coffee. That said, the overall experience was still very nice, and I’d happily come back.

This place was amazing! It was clean, and the setup was beautiful. The waitress was friendly and helpful, the coffee was excellent, and the muffins my friend and I had were delicious. We’ll definitely be back before our vacation ends! Ana was amazing!

Tucked away on a narrow street it’s easy to miss. Head to the back of the restaurant and sit in the Secret Garden. Enjoy a Strapatsada with Naxian eggs while sipping on a Matcha Latte. They have an endless array of coffees & teas to enjoy plus a hearty brunch menu. Come hungry. Enjoy the garden.

Absolutely recommendable! This place serves the best coffee in Naxos , and I’ve tried several cafés. The cappuccino is unbeatable and the food is a real delight.

This beach bar reminds me of Miami! Very nice decor and aesthetics. Lots of beach chairs as well. We came end of May so it was not busy at all. Even though it was cloudy on and off the UV index was high enough to give me a slight sun burn so be careful! We ordered a few drinks here and were able to use the beach chairs for free. The zombie cocktail was really really good, but it was also really expensive! This area is known as a tourist destination so I was not surprised with the higher prices. The service was a bit slow but the staff were very kind. There will be some people walking along the beach trying to sell you a massage but they weren't annoying. Parking can be a headache though because there is not much street parking and only one small parking lot.

I really enjoyed watching the sunset and the various groups of people while drinking the Macao spritz. Staff was really attentive and friendly. There was live music as the sun set which was lovely. They also had a happy hour where classic cocktails were half off (not the Macao spritz but I didn’t care because it was delicious). Vibes both inside and out were trendy and cool.. certainly Tulum inspired but with a Greek twist.

I loved Macao Beach Club when I first visited 5 years ago, but it has changed and not for the better. The food is still good, but the sunbeds are packed too close together with little privacy, and the atmosphere feels more commercial and less charming than it used to.

Absolutely the best place to spend a day at Agios Prokopios beach. Amazing beach with even better views and water with soft sand (no rocks at all). The best sun beds with very kind and friendly staff. Cocktails and other drinks are bit pricey but it’s definitely worth the comfort while sitting there the entire day.

We have been to Macao Beach Club a dozen times and the service, food and vibe have been exceptional. Redi requires special mention as someone who prides themselves on hospitality and a client focused experience. His welcoming demeanor is what keeps us coming back. The staff work tirelessly to ensure an enjoyable, relaxing, respectful outing. 🌴🏖️🇬🇷

This is a very nice beach bar with lovely food. The sunbeds were very comfortable with thick mattresses. When you go to the two front rows they even offer you beach towels for the time you spend there. Unfortunately I wasn't happy with the service at all. The waiter we had was not very friendly and therefore not very professional. When I sent my coffee back because they were lumps in it, because they didn't shake the Oat Milk bottle the waiter wasn't happy at all. He couldn't understand and even brought his colleague to make fun of that. So yeah that wasn't nice at all and that's why I gave only 3*.

Just had a quick pork gyros as we’ve eaten so much already in Naxos! Gyros was tasty enough but when we asked for the bill the server didn’t give us one (which is unusual but didn’t think anything of it), just asked if we wanted to pay by card or cash. Said card, paid and asked from the receipt. Used google translate and it says that he added a tip of 10% without asking us. Haven’t experienced this anywhere else in Naxos or Athens. We left a cash tip to it’s very dishonest to do that and hope that tourists won’t check the receipt. Would not recommend this place, there are other gyros places that won’t try to scam you.

It was a beautiful night after seeing the sunset at the Temple of Apollo... our group felt like gyros. After a stroll down the main road along the waterfront, we came across Spit Naxos... And we had a wonderful experience. Waiters were very accommodating to our group of 11. An extra table taken from the inside and extra chairs brought out for us. It took a while for our order to go in ... many other patrons already seated and their takeout service was very steady, as I could see. It took over an hour to get order in and food brought to our table. Thankfully, it was a beautiful night -- mild and slight breeze. Overall, food was excellent -- wonderful taste, great portion sizes. Only one our group was disappointed -- the chicken on a spit ... flavor was great but was lukewarm. Perhaps the chicken was done first and the rest of the order slowed down the delivery. Otherwise, a top notch dinner.

Very friendly staff and great food. I got the pork Gyro and my wife got roasted chicken, both were very good. They seemed to also have plenty of outdoor seating. Prices were on average. One last thing I noticed- the fries in Greece are generally just OK- much better in the USA. But the fries here were probably the best I had during our stay in Greece. So that's something!

Very friendly owners and tasty food. We didnt have any expectations since it was the first Gyros restaurant we went to after arriving in Greece for the first time. We both ordered pork gyros and it was very good. We also enjoyed the beautiful view on the harbor while eating.

Nice location on the main street by the water. Service is absolutely dreadful, the guy was so sassy and rude to us. He originally wanted us to move to a smaller table but we didn’t want to because it was much windier there. Because we hadn’t moved he was so pissy at us, even though someone else had sat down at the table he wanted us to move to. So what’s the point of being mad since there was nowhere for us to move to? There was a party of 3 he wanted to seat at our table. It took forever for him to take our order, he even put down a placemat and immediately removed it when we said we were just getting one gyro. I confronted him and asked why he was so angry at us and he said because we didn’t move. I asked what he wanted us to do about it since the table is now occupied? Another table opened up so he moved us to that one. We went inside to ask if they could make the gyro with mayo instead of tzatziki bc we forgot to tell the waiter when ordering, and wanted to let them know asap before they made it, and they said to tell our waiter. And he wasn’t friendly about it. JjWhen we caught the waiter, we asked that it doesn’t have tzatziki because we’re lactose intolerant. He rolled his eyes and said “then what do you want on it” and stormed off. Then when the gyro came, I asked if there was mayo on it, he rolled his eyes and then had it adjusted. I had a bite of the gyro and it wasn’t even that good, there are better ones out there. But the service here all around is awful - the guy who waited on us outside needs to learn proper customer service, it completely soured my experience and made me lose my appetite, even the guy inside was rude. I don’t know what the deal is with this place but they need to learn to treat their customers better.

Service was polite and prompt. Gyros were good but whatever you do, don’t order the grill salad. About 80% mayonnaise (aka dressing??), 10% pita and the rest chicken/lettuce drenched in mayo. Disappointing especially as it costs 10 euros. The Greek salad looks much better.
