Middle Eastern restaurant
Nestled at the northern end of the picturesque Mutrah Corniche, Bait Al Luban Omani Restaurant is a culinary gem that invites you to indulge in authentic Omani flavors. This charming eatery, housed in a beautifully restored stone building, boasts an inviting atmosphere adorned with vibrant cushions and traditional decor.
The place is warm & well designed. Our experienced was great. The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly & welcoming. Our hearts were overwhelmed to some details like, welcoming frankincense water, providing Omani coffee with dates & at the end rose water as a-sign for farewell with a good smell. Despite its high prices, it’s well worth it for its high quality in service & food as well. Not to forget the balcony view is incredible! Highly recommended✨
Nawal S — Google review
This lovely restaurant is in a famous old tourist area. It has a great view, beautiful décor, and very friendly staff. You can really enjoy the feeling of Omani hospitality here. I’m not a big fan of seafood, but this was the best seafood I’ve ever had! The fish and shrimp in the stew were so fresh and full of flavor. The other dishes were also delicious and high quality. I truly enjoyed the whole experience.
Sepehr S — Google review
Delicious. We loved okra stew and the eggplant cloud (eggplants w/ garlic yogurt). For shuwa, lamb was yum but rice could have been more aromatic in my opinion. Reservation is highly recommended for dinner.
KT — Google review
Very tasty food and fantastic service. Interiors really cosy and comfortable. We got fresh dates and omanian coffee for free what was a very nice gesture. Prices are reasonable. You can pay by card.
Magda C — Google review
A great restaurant which is only a short walk from the corniche. The food was very pleasant and the service excellent. Traditional, seated plus indoor and outdoor dining available.
Jamal F — Google review
Our server was amazing!!! Food was good but nothing I would come back for. You definitely need a reservation and I would recommend trying to snag one of the two seater seats on the balcony because the view is amazing.
Taylor F — Google review
Bait Al Luban comes highly recommended by all the tourist sites and it’s easy to see why. The decor is beautiful and offers a traditional setting for a real Omani feast. The service was friendly and the food on offer tasty. Definitely a go to for anyone visiting.
Ben S — Google review
For someone who wants to try genuine Omani cuisine (and not just international dishes), this restaurant is a first choice. The atmosphere combines authenticity with a slightly upscale touch – perfect if you value a pleasant setting. Great location, especially if you’re already walking along the Corniche or visiting the fish market. The menu offers a wide variety of options – ideal for those curious to sample different dishes.

Turkish restaurant
Turkish House Restaurant, located on Al Hadiqa Street, is a popular spot in Muscat known for its incredible selection of fresh seafood. The restaurant is run by a former fisherman who personally selects the daily seafood offerings from the Mutrah market. While the interior may be minimalist and unassuming, the focus here is on top-notch Turkish and Levantine cuisine. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes including grilled fish, prawns, calamari, red snapper, and Omani lobster.
Food was fantastic, service impeccable. Restaurant was fresh and clean. Nothing fancy, but not a hole-in-the-wall. I had the king fish (king mackerel) and lamb kabob. Too much food for 1 person, but I wanted to try both. Fish was fresh, seasoned agrilled perfecly. Kabob might have been some of the best I have ever had. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Visited on a Saturday afternoon so restaurant was not busy, but I got the impression the service would have been just as good if there was a full house. Fish was 4 OMR, and kabab was 3.5 OMR.
Andy B — Google review
This restaurant is one of the top rated Turkish food places in Muscat. The hummus was so creamy and yummy! The chicken was super flavorful and the lobster was out of this world!! If you have a couple of nights in Muscat and are feeling some Turkish food, go here!
Sabrina S — Google review
Excellent selection of fine Turkish foods that didn't disappoint. We had grilled fish and a mixed grill of meat which all was awesome. Topped off with a cup of Turkish coffee and pistachio baklava it couldn't have been better.
Randy G — Google review
Authentic Turkish flavours at fair prices. Great grilled seafood and fresh bread. Can get busy and a bit noisy, but overall a solid spot for casual dining in Muscat.
Ahmed A — Google review
Lobster for 25 bucks? Sign me up! The lobster was great and for the price of 1 or 2 beef kabobs in America I received 4. Tasty food and great value. I might have to eat lobster twice in the same week lol.
John T — Google review
We had the small mezze platter as a starter — comes with fresh bread, enough for three. For mains, we ordered grilled hammour fish (for two) and boneless grilled chicken. Both were fresh, flavorful, and well-cooked. The fish portion was very generous — enough for 3–4 people. Rice was forgotten at first, and when it finally arrived, it was unfortunately very poor in quality. I don’t recommend ordering rice here. Overall, great value for money considering the quality and portion sizes.
Pari N — Google review
I had the jumbo prawns, grilled fish, salad, mixed hummus, and their signature melon juice. The ingredients were fresh, and everything tasted great. The jumbo prawns, in particular, had a nice smoky, grilled flavor, which I really enjoyed. The only downside was the salad dressing—it was way too strong. I have no idea what kind of vinegar they used, but it was seriously overpowering. 😂 The staff were quick and efficient, and overall, I was satisfied with the service. The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly—kind of like a bustling marketplace. Kids were running around, shouting, and having fun. After a while, the noise started getting to me, and I suddenly realized I was putting food in my nose instead of my mouth. 😵‍💫😂
SulSul P — Google review
A truly authentic Turkish restaurant! The fries served with every meal and the bread similar to Barbari bread took me straight back to the vibes of Istanbul's restaurants! The food quality was good, and I especially liked the lamb chops! The mezze platter was amazing! It was the best mezze platter I've ever had! The portions were really generous! The prices were a bit high, though!

Indian restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Muscat, Mumtaz Mahal Restaurant stands as a testament to fine dining and culinary artistry since its inception in 1984. This esteemed establishment specializes in North Indian cuisine, drawing inspiration from traditional recipes that have been cherished through generations. The restaurant's elegant decor features a striking black and white theme complemented by chic indoor plants, creating an atmosphere of sophistication and tranquility.
We had the tasting menu at Mumtaz Mahal in Muscat, and it was fantastic! Each of the five courses was packed with bold, vibrant flavours that showcased Indian cuisine at its best. Portions were super generous—so much so that we couldn’t finish the last course, which was the biggest of them all. Honestly, one tasting menu is perfect for two people to share. Great food, lovely ambiance, and overall an experience worth savouring!
Norvan N — Google review
We had a wonderful experience at Mumtaz Mahal. The indoor space is beautiful, filled with plants that make it feel fresh and inviting. Special thanks to Chef and TC Rana for his warm hospitality — he was friendly, patient, and answered all our questions. For those who enjoy Indian and spicy food, this is a great choice. I loved my butter chicken — rich and flavorful — and my partner’s Gold Tasting Menu was a fantastic way to sample many dishes. Prices are reasonable for the quality, though not the cheapest. I’d definitely go again and bring any guests visiting Muscat.
Fateme M — Google review
Mumtaz Mahal in Muscat is undeniably a feast for the eyes with its stunning interiors and captivating ambience—perfect for impressing clients or hosting a fancy evening out. However, the experience falls short where it matters most. The food is, frankly, mediocre, with portions so small they leave you wanting. The naan? The tiniest I’ve ever seen, almost a culinary crime! Service is just okay, not matching the hype or the hefty price tag. As a local Muscatian, I find it hard to justify the cost for what’s offered. This is a one-time-visit kind of place, more suited for business entertainment than a go-to dining spot. Sorry, folks, but I can’t recommend it—there are better options out there for the price. Good luck.
Abhay C — Google review
The place is beautiful, and the food was delicious. However, two staff members came across as quite rude. We had requested one of the waiters to make a dish less spicy, but it was served very spicy anyway. Fortunately, another staff member who later served us was genuinely kind and attentive. Overall, the ambience made the experience pleasant, but the service could definitely be improved.
Mehala D — Google review
India food is delicious, The mutton curry has no fishy smell and is chewy. all the waiters are polite. very enjoys the dinner
Hui L — Google review
Mumtaz in Muscat is a great dining experience. The food is incredibly fresh, full of bold flavor, and clearly prepared with real attention to quality. Every dish we ordered had that perfect balance of spice and richness without feeling heavy, which is harder to find than you’d think. The staff were warm and professional, and the setting has an elevated yet welcoming feel. One small note for anyone visiting, the restaurant is located in a complex that has several other places around it, so just know where you are headed when you arrive. Overall, a fantastic spot for high quality Indian cuisine in Muscat and absolutely worth a visit.

The restaurant's chic and classic ambiance features elements of Chinese culture, creating a delightful dining experience. The best dumplings in the world! And not just the dumplings of course - the chef is a magician although he's probably the most humble chef I've ever greeted. Wonderful interior and great service. Absolute recommendation!

Best ever Chinese food in Middle East If you’re ever in Oman, please do yourself a favor and dine at China Mood. Amazing vibe and the dishes are full of flavor - the best Chinese food you can find in the region. It’s so good, I dined here two nights in a row. Get the signature set menu - you’ll thank me later. Highly recommended. Thank you Chef Sam and Angela for such a lovely hospitality!
W L — Google review
The food is spectacular some of the best Chinese I’ve eaten. The service was also excellent. Isakov was fantastic. The setting is also beautiful. A truly lovely experience. I know some people mentioned expensive but we felt this was beyond expensive. The lowest cost of a main is 18 rial which we think is very very expensive for Chinese. We would love to return but these price tags for locals is very high.
Kelly C — Google review
Really nice place to eat in muscat if you are looking for excellent quality chinese food! Abit pricey but it's all worth it!! The staff there are also friendly and takes really good care of the customers! The peking duck was really good! And the cny yusheng salad was fantastic! We were here for our Chinese reunion dinner and as we are all from overseas this is really heart warming!! They should open for lunch as well so that more people can eat too! Would come again soon!

The best experience u can have in Muscat! The entire staff super friendly and the Chef made sure all was to perfection! Can only recommend! A true lifetime experience! Thanks a lot for making my birthday an unforgettable evening 🫶❤️
Karin S — Google review
- The place and the service is really good. - The food is mostly tasteless. We complained to the waiters and they provided several sauces which has helped but still overall I wasn’t satisfied with the taste. We tried the beef noodles and the vegetable fried rice and they both had hardly any flavors. The KP chicken was good. We also did not like the drinks. We expected them to be special but they weren’t. - The prices on the high side due to the location and the experience. Two juices One dumpling dish One vegetable fried rice One kung pap chicken One beef noodles Total was 60 OMR (160 USD).
Maverick — Google review
China mood is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have tried in my life. The level of care and detail to developing flavors and the manner dishes are presented are akin to those of Michelin star restaurants. The ambiance of the restaurant is chic and classic at the same time (if that is possible) with the key elements of Chinese culture on a high end restaurant. We went for the signature set menu but anything you order in China mood will be of the best quality. Cannot wait to visit again! Oswaldo

Turkish restaurant
Baba Salem Restaurant is a popular Turkish restaurant with a relaxed outdoor seating area. It's known for its signature Pasha Kebab Mutton, Izmir Kebab, and fluffy flatbreads. The restaurant is well-liked for its good quality food at reasonable prices. While parking can be challenging, the service is quick and the portions are filling. The restaurant also offers an AC area on the second floor.
Baba Salem is one of those hidden gems that you might easily miss if you’re just passing by, but it’s a favorite among locals. This Turkish cuisine spot truly shines when it comes to Shawarma especially the chicken, which I highly recommend. If you’re visiting between 8 and 10 PM, be prepared for a lively crowd, particularly on weekends, which just adds to the vibrant atmosphere. For those who can’t decide between chicken or beef, their mixed Shawarma is a must-try equally delicious and satisfying. Now that the weather is nicer, I’d suggest sitting outside to enjoy your meal in a relaxed setting. Prices are reasonable, making it a great choice even at the end of the month when you’re waiting for your salary. Overall, Baba Salem is a reliable spot for authentic Turkish flavors and won’t disappoint.
Bader A — Google review
Portions for prices are great. A good place to visit if you’re planning to try authentic levantine/Turkish cuisine for good prices and good quality. Lamb chops and Kebab were on top of the items in terms of taste. Pida and pizza were good as well. The indoor dinning area is very humble but clean. The outdoor is traditional and would definitely have been our first option only if we visited in winter.
Ghadeer A — Google review
The service was good but we found the food underwhelming. The shawarma was dry and the Iskender kebab lacked flavour. This place has a great reputation, but I'm struggling to understand why. I've tried other Turkish restaurants in Muscat which are far superior. I'll try and give it another try.
Georges D — Google review
Nice Turkish restaurant in town serving delicious grills, shawarmas. I like their meat shawarma, special sauces, doner kabab and mixed grills. My favorite place for arabic food. Definitely worth a try and value for money. Best wishes!
Dickie P — Google review
On August 7th, 2025, I patronized Baba Salem (Arabic food) Restaurant for lunch and found it to be a commendable establishment. The restaurant offers a diverse menu and provides attentive service, making it a highly recommended dining option. The menu includes a variety of choices, such as: - Beverages - Desserts - Juices - Appetizers - Seafood - Pizza - Shawarma - Grills The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor dining areas, in addition to clean restroom facilities. The indoor area is modestly appointed but well-maintained. The outdoor area offers a traditional ambiance, which would be particularly appealing during the winter months. Please note that complimentary WiFi is not available. (Prices include a 5% VAT.) I extend my appreciation to the owner and staff for their hospitality and welcoming demeanor.
Timeless J — Google review
Well, this is truly the definition of fast food in Oman—easy, affordable, and consistently tasty. The food is fresh, flavorful, and satisfying without being heavy. During lunchtime, the place is packed with people on their work breaks, which says a lot about its popularity. Must-try items at Baba Salem include the Arabic Shawarma, Shawarma Platter, and the Iskander Kebab. And of course, being in Muscat, no meal feels complete without a refreshing Ice Lemon Mint. The restaurant offers outdoor seating with a charming garden concept, making it a lovely spot to enjoy food—especially in the winter. For the hotter months, there’s an air-conditioned dining area on the first floor, which is perfect for keeping cool.

Köşebaşı كوشي باشي is a delightful destination for those craving authentic Turkish cuisine. The restaurant's signature mix grill is a must-try, featuring succulent lamb and chicken cubes, tender beef slices, and their special lamb kebab served alongside flavorful burgul. Indian restaurant
Begum's Restaurant Al Khuwair is a cozy North Indian eatery in Muscat that offers a wide selection of Mughlai cuisine. Despite its small size, it is always bustling with patrons drawn to its friendly service and excellent dishes. The menu features numerous options, including vegetarian choices like paneer tikka masala and non-vegetarian specialties such as chicken or fish kebab biryani and chicken curry.
I started with amazing mutton soup and ordered the Mutton Biryani and Chicken Dum Biryani from Begum Restaurant — both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and the meat was perfectly cooked. One thing I noticed was the heavy use of masala, which, while tasty, was quite intense. I ended up ordering plain biryani rice on the side just to balance it out. Also tried a chicken starter, which was equally amazing — full of flavor and cooked just right. But a word of caution: this food isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s very spicy and might be a bit too much for those with a sensitive stomach. To finish off, I had the Indrani Cup — what a fantastic dessert! Pure, authentic flavors and the perfect end to a spicy meal. Highly recommended for spice lovers looking for bold, authentic taste.
Aamir S — Google review
Been to this restaurant multiple times, particularly for their chicken lazzeez and tikka biriyani. The service is always good. However, the quality of food has gone down over the years. Yesterday the recommended dish of the day - Kashmiri chicken - we had ordered along with the mixed platter, chicken lazzeez, and nans, was not up to their mark. Even the trademark chicken lazzeez has lost its flavor.
Aajan K — Google review
The food was bland .Chai was good. The special chicken biryani didn't turn the buds felt just below Lulu biriyani. Service was good and the atmosphere was okay. Mutton Rogan josh felt like it was in a butter chicken. Not for my taste.

Tried 🍜Jalandari Kabab – quite flavorful and well-cooked (4/5)🔥. However, the Chicken Lasuni was disappointing (1/5) ❌. 👌🏻Starters seem to be the strong point here, but the 👎🏻main course lacks consistency & taste. The pricing feels on the higher side compared to other local options, and unfortunately, doesn’t justify the overall experience 💸."

Simply the best Indian food I have ever tired (coming from a Londoner who lives in the heart of curry industry). Excellent service from staff. When you arrive ask for Shaban (he’s a star) and he’ll look after you.

To this day I’ve visited 20+ countries. Ate curries almost every month or two. I have been to fine dining curry house and 100s of curry house. To this day have not had anything better than Begums. It’s somewhere I’d usually pass by and not notice. But was recommended this place from a family member who visited Oman earlier on this year. Still craving there food. Chicken tikka biryani is something you should try, as well as their chicken tikka masala.

Excellent customer service. Food is on the pricy side but the chef's presentation and quality surely makes up for it. The ambience is very calming and peaceful. Worthwhile a visit.

Super expensive for Oman. OMR9.000 for watermelon juice, rice and dal is a rip off. Even 4 star hotels are cheaper. Having said that, food was delicious

The menu is very highly priced, and the food quality does not justify it. It's better to visit a five-star restaurant instead. **Positive Points:** - The ambiance and decor are quite appealing, though at this price, there are even better dining options available. Nonetheless, it's a romantic setting, ideal for affluent couples seeking a pleasant evening. - The mixed seafood soup was excellent, with perfect flavor, consistency, and temperature. - The Kashmiri pulao was aromatic and delicious. - The prawn poori was a creative concept and well-executed. **Negative Points:** - The sweet corn soup lacked corn and was not good in taste. - The dim sums were disappointing, especially considering the high price. The tamarind chutney didn't pair well, the taste was subpar, and the dim sum’s skin was too thick. - The creamy almond chicken and Rajasthani chicken gravy were almost identical, with the only difference being the almond and cream content. Even the steward acknowledged this. - The lentil yellow, meant to be dal fry, did not meet expectations. - The seekh kebab was very bland. **Concerns:** - The high menu prices are not justified by the quality of the food. Most dishes weren't made with the best ingredients, and two main courses tasted the same. At such high prices, each dish should be distinctly prepared, not just variations of the same gravy. - The silverware was good, but the main course serving dishes looked cheap. High prices should ensure top-quality service and presentation. - Despite the high charges, the stewards did not demonstrate proper food serving styles or knowledge of silver service. - The restaurant lacks dedicated parking, valet service, and even a host or hostess to welcome guests. In conclusion, the exorbitant menu prices are not justified. If it's a tourist destination, other nearby eateries should also charge high rates, which they don't. The high prices at this restaurant remain unexplained and unjustified.

Visited the Souq on Friday 4pm and was not as per my expectation, decided to get some food and did not want to sit outside in this heat. Came across Kurkum and ordered some butter kitchen, dal makni and paneer tikka masala. Food was great and fulling and the service was also good.

Al Tanoor is a restaurant located at the Shangri-La, offering a delightful Iftar buffet with an array of traditional Ramadan dishes from local, regional, and international cuisines. The buffet includes live stations featuring hot and cold mezze, Omani specialties, regional dishes, mixed grill, and classic desserts. The charming tent-like decor is inspired by villages and souqs.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Al Tanoor Shangri-La, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The food was outstanding, with a wide variety of options that changed daily, offering themed nights like the International Buffet, Desi Night, and Lebanese Night, complete with a light music band adding to the ambiance. The quality of the dishes was top-notch, and each night offered something new to look forward to. What truly stood out was the impeccable service. The staff were incredibly helpful and courteous. Their attention to detail made the experience even more memorable. A special shout-out to Sanjay, who went above and beyond to customize the pasta at the pasta station to our exact preferences (and spoiling us with some yummy gelato)! I found myself returning to Al Tanoor for dinner every night during my stay, and I can confidently say it was one of the highlights of my trip. I would love to visit again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience with exceptional food and service!

Al Tanoor Restaurant Unfortunately, our experience at Al Tanoor was far from what we expected. The ambiance felt quite cold and dry, lacking the warmth and hospitality one hopes for in a dining experience. As for the food, it was a major letdown. The chicken BBQ was burnt, the fish was raw, and the lamb kafta was dry and chewy completely off-putting. The mahmara tasted stale and odd, definitely not fresh. With such a disappointing start, we didn’t even feel brave enough to try the rest of the buffet. We ended up just having some fruit and calling it a night. Given the standard of food and the atmosphere, this place is a big no-no for me. Definitely not worth a revisit.
Faiza A — Google review
The Tanoor buffet dinners were a favourite of mine - with a variety of cuisines and fresh baked manqeesh and pizzas. I visited yesterday and it was a disaster. An overpriced tourist restaurant with average Indian food with some frozen nuggets and swirled fries! Buffet items were empty or cooked at rush and clearly lost their presentation and quality. All deserts were of low quality and didn’t taste well. Oh and drinks that come with your overpriced buffet was chilled water or some strange fruit juice!! Even the Indian dishes which you cannot go wrong with, were of the quality of a low restaurant down town. Very sad state and a scary erosion of quality.

Al Tanoor offers a unique dining experience with its enticing Middle Eastern cuisine, but it falls short in a few key areas, particularly when it comes to pricing and service. **Ambiance:** The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, with beautifully designed interiors that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. The lighting is soft, creating a cozy environment perfect for both intimate dinners and gatherings with friends. **Food:** The menu features a variety of traditional dishes, and while the flavors are rich and authentic, the portion sizes can be surprisingly small for the price. Dishes like the lamb kebabs and the mezze platter are undoubtedly delicious, showcasing fresh ingredients and skilled preparation. However, many items feel overpriced, especially considering similar offerings at other local establishments that provide better value. **Service:** While the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, the service can be hit or miss. During our visit, we experienced long wait times for both our food and the check, which was disappointing given the high price point. The staff seemed overwhelmed, which detracted from the overall dining experience. **Value:** Ultimately, the steep prices OMR. 30 per peraon, at Al Tanoor do not seem to justify the level of service and portion sizes provided. Diners looking for a memorable meal might find better options elsewhere that offer a more balanced experience in terms of cost, service, and food quality. In conclusion, Al Tanoor has the potential to be a fantastic dining destination, but improvements in service efficiency and a reevaluation of their pricing structure could elevate it to a higher standard. While it’s worth a visit for the unique flavors, be prepared for a hefty bill that may not entirely match the experience.

Had a really good experience at Al Tanoor. The food was tasty and nicely presented, and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming. The staff were attentive and polite, which made the meal even more enjoyable. A special thanks to Mr. Motaz, the restaurant manager, who was very accommodating and made sure everything went smoothly. The whole team was cooperative and friendly. Definitely a place I’d recommend for anyone visiting.

Not always a buffet, we came a couple of times and it was a la carte. The Indian dishes here were top notch and very good portion sizes. The chefs also came over and sorted something specific out for a vegetarian diner. The lamb dish was slightly small, but still good.

Anton is a real gem. But the food quality gets lower and lower. Before a lot of locals visited the great buffet. Now it is an below average hotel buffet. not worth the shangri la. irani corner meat was of low quality and always run out of stuff. Salads were just a few tabbouleh was missing, fattouche first was good second time bad. a lot of salads nobody eats and missing some basic salads. Indian corner were also below average. desert just average. Compared to other hotelbuffet and local restaurants this Restaurant with the new Executive chef is clearly lower then before.

I recently dined at Sultanah Restaurant at Al Husn for breakfast, and it was a wonderful experience. The view is absolutely stunning, providing a serene and picturesque setting. The à la carte menu offers a great selection of dishes, including some fantastic healthy options like berry yogurt, muesli, and sourdough bread, which really sets it apart from other places. The reason for a 4-star rating, however, is mainly due to the buffet offering. While the selection is good, I felt it could be expanded further to include a wider variety of dishes. Still, the quality of what was available was excellent, and the service was top-notch. Overall, a lovely spot with great food and an amazing atmosphere, and I would definitely recommend it!

I think I liked the breakfast and dinner menu the lunch though I didn’t like the beef burger, but overall was good. for dinner I tried the shrimp. Risotto was so good and I think one of the best meals I’ve tried and my friend she likes the ribeye steak and also the sea bus for dinner was good but they don’t have much variety of menu. and I’m sorry to say this, but the coffee here is not the best if you are a real coffee lover.

Beautiful hotel, multiple beach areas to choose from including an exclusive part for AlHusn residents. Plenty of restaurant options across the three Shangri-la hotels which you have access to. Only downside is that its pretty dead in the evening and places close kind of early. Highly recommended for a visit to Muscat. They do have complimentary cocktails and aperitifs in the courtyard with live music which was great. Our fav restaurant was the Indian.

Loved the breakfast options and how organized the restaurant is.. Instead of people queuing up for some eggs, they provide all the options via their breakfast menu. In addition, the breakfast buffet had amazing options that suit all tastes. The food was really delicious!! The service was also super! We also enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea with canapés, which were served in a cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend anyone staying at Al Husn to experience Sultanah's food.

Rating based on buffet breakfast experience The pros : excellent location with a beautiful view, particularly if you manage to get a table on the terrace. Nice selection of warm dishes to be ordered from the menu. Service time for hot drinks and warm dishes was remarkably fast. The cons : cold buffet selection was generally disappointing. Selection is limited which is not a problem by itself, but quality is not meeting the “fine dining” standards expected from a Shangri La restaurant.

Capri Court Italian Restaurant at Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa is a must-visit for anyone seeking an exquisite dining experience. This charming venue offers a delightful blend of Italian, Mediterranean, and European cuisines that tantalize the taste buds. Guests rave about the outstanding food and exceptional service, with staff members like Vansh and Cristel receiving special mentions for their warm hospitality and attentiveness.
Nice and beautiful place. If you are planning for any special occasion, this is an ideal place to treat your loved ones. Indeed, it's not budget friendly, so keep your wallet loaded. Tasty Italian food and wine.

Although tasty, the portions were ridiculously small (see pics). The hotel food manager was kind enough later in our holiday to sort some extra drinks out to compensate - hopefully they do fix this as the food is good, but nowhere near worth the money for those dishes (30 euros).

On our stay in shangri-la we decided to go to the Italian restaurant since we were craving for some pizza. Spoiler alert: there’s no pizza on their menu. The restaurant is located in a very beautiful spot with stunning view, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The major issue is that the restaurant’s food is underwhelming, and disappointing. We ordered the grilled octopus appetiser which came with few pieces of potato and even fewer smaller pieces of octopus, lasagna and tagliatelle pasta for the main course. The portions were dramatically small and not compatible to the prices at all. The lasagna was finished within 3 bites. At least we expected the taste to be worth it for the price. Our visit left us feeling disappointed and confused.

Went to dine at Capri Court and was welcomed with a smile by Mr. Rakesh (who I believe is the restaurant manager), After seated by Ms.Crystal, the server (Mr.Vansh)was accommodating and also was recommending dishes to try when asked. Unlike other 5 star restaurants who don't try to go an extra mile. During dinner Mr. Rakesh even came just to check if everything was as ordered and had a bit of a conversation with guests, which is nice as it brings guests back.. Great staffs and service keep it up and don't let fade away..

A Taste of Italy at Shangri-La Had a delightful dinner at Italine Restaurant at Shangri-La Resort. The ambiance was elegant and inviting, perfect for a special occasion. A Memorable Culinary Experience at Capri Court Italian Restaurant! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Capri Court Italian Restaurant in Muscat, and I can't stop raving about the incredible experience I had. From start to finish, everything about this restaurant exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, the food prepared by Chef Daniel was nothing short of outstanding. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with authentic Italian flavors that transported my taste buds straight to Italy. The attention to detail in the presentation was remarkable, making every plate a work of art. The Chef's dedication to crafting exquisite Italian cuisine truly shines through in every bite. What sets Capri Court apart, though, is not just the fantastic food but the exceptional service provided by their wonderful team. Ms. Michaella, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Paul, Ms. Lara and Mr. Vansh are the epitome of professionalism and hospitality. They made us feel like cherished guests, attending to our every need with a warm and welcoming demeanor. Their knowledge of the menu and wine pairings was impeccable, enhancing our dining experience. The ambiance of Capri Court is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a romantic dinner or a special celebration. Whether you're seated indoors or on the charming outdoor terrace, you're treated to a delightful atmosphere that complements the culinary journey. In conclusion, Capri Court Italian Restaurant is a hidden gem in Muscat, where you can savor the flavors of Italy while enjoying top-notch service. I can't recommend this restaurant enough to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. At Caramel Restaurant & Lounge, guests can enjoy a variety of delicious food options, perfect for unwinding with friends. The restaurant provides a warm and inviting ambience, so guests can relax and have a fun evening. In addition to great food and drink selections, Caramel also offers ample outdoor seating for those who want to enjoy the outdoors.
We visited Caramel Restaurant & Lounge for dinner yesterday with a friend and it was great! This is a fusion restaurant located within the Royal Opera House complex and covers a menu of various european and asian cuisines. The drinks menu is also mixed with many US alcohols also present. The staff were excellent with the friendly & courteous approach and also provided us with some reserved seating by the balcony. We went for the herb roasted chicken while my wife went for the sea bream with a lot of customisations as she has some allergies. The restaurant gets busy after 10 and we liked the vibe of the place with mood lighting and music. Pricing-wise, it's average for restaurants in the area. We enjoyed the visit and highly recommended!

Lo mein noodles were great with soft beef and thick bouncy noodles. The sauce was well coated. The sushi rolls were good, the crab sticks had a frozen aftertaste to it. Other than this, the rolls were good. Along with the dipping sauce, it was great to eat. Service is polite and quick. Although the lack of a menu card was an issue. We ordered from the screenshot on insta, the font was not great, and it was a difficult to read the contents.

One of Muscat’s most elegant fine dining spots, located right next to the Royal Opera House. The interiors are stunning authentic Omani architecture with royal-level decor. The food is traditional and delicious: don’t miss the shuwa, jareesh, or king fish in coconut sauce. Service is warm, and the full tasting menu gives you a real sense of Omani flavors. Slightly pricey, but worth it for the experience. Reservations recommended!
Anamaria B — Google review
The restaurant is beautiful and the food is excellent, but my evening was completely ruined by one of the waitresses (the taller one). Her behaviour was strikingly inelegant, hostile in attitude, and completely inadequate for such an establishment. She poured my coffee, placed the pot on the table, and told me to serve myself, all with a dismissive hostility that lingered in the air like an unpleasant scent. She later cleared the table again, abruptly and without the slightest courtesy, showing a complete lack of grace and professionalism. Embarrassing to see. I had been polite, respectful, and genuinely appreciative throughout the evening, so such behaviour was deeply disappointing and entirely out of place in a fine dining restaurant. What made it even worse is that this attitude showed a lack of respect not only towards me, but also towards the entire team, from the chef to the other staff members, who were all genuinely kind, attentive, and professional. Her behaviour undermined their efforts and the hard work that clearly went into trying to create an exceptional dining experience. Indeed, the manager or senior waiter handled the situation with professionalism, which I sincerely appreciated, but this incident ruined what could have been a wonderful night. Unfortunately, after reading other reviews reporting similar issues with certain waitresses, it seems this is not an isolated case. Oman does not deserve to be remembered like this. Everywhere else I’ve been, people have been genuinely kind and welcoming. It’s a real shame that such a fine establishment as Al Angham should be remembered for such behaviour, when it could so easily be remembered for its beauty, culture, and hospitality.

Great experience of authentic Omani food. As a foreigner it is best to ask for a sampling menu. They will let you try about 10 different dishes, which provides a great insight into Omani traditional cuisine. It wasn’t on the menu, but the waiter offered it to us as he realised we were struggling to choose from the menu.

We recently visited Angam Restaurant for dinner, and I must say the dining experience itself was absolutely superb. The ambience was warm and inviting, the food was delicious, and the staff were attentive in their service. On the surface, everything seemed perfect—until I went to use the washroom. Unfortunately, my experience there was extremely disappointing. The toilet seat was broken, and the toilet lock was not functioning properly. This is not only inconvenient but also unhygienic and uncomfortable for guests. A restaurant’s washroom is a direct reflection of its overall cleanliness standards, and no matter how much money you spend on beautiful interiors and décor, if your washrooms are neglected, it brings down the entire standard of the place. I spoke directly to Dinesh, who was acting manager that evening. He mentioned that he had already informed the MD (Angam) about the issue, but no action has been taken so far. This shows a lack of urgency and care in addressing basic facilities for customers. It’s important to understand that guests judge a restaurant not only by the taste of the food and the friendliness of the staff but also by the hygiene and maintenance of the entire establishment—washrooms included. A poorly maintained restroom can ruin what would otherwise be an outstanding dining experience. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and prioritises upgrading and maintaining their washrooms. A clean, functional, and pleasant restroom is a small detail that makes a huge difference in customer satisfaction. Until then, this will remain a big disappointment for an otherwise excellent

We had a great meal at Nando’s in Qurum, Oman. The food was freshly made and full of flavor — especially the peri-peri chicken, which was tender, juicy, and perfectly spiced. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal. Overall, we were satisfied with our dining experience and would definitely come back again.

Samuel was an exceptional server! He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome from the moment we sat down. He checked in on us just the right amount, made sure our orders were perfect, and handled everything with a calm and professional attitude. His warm personality really added to our overall experience. Thank you, Samuel, for the great service!

I'm a regular costumer at Nandos. However I just wanted to thank the guy who served us "Don". He was very friendly, polite and kind throughout the entire meal. He also made sure we were comfortable. It is rare to find service this good — we will definitely be coming back!!

Nando’s in Qurum is a great spot for flavorful peri-peri chicken and a relaxed dining experience. The food is consistently fresh and tasty, with plenty of spice options to suit everyone. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere for both families and friends. Always a reliable choice when craving Nando’s!

Lokanta Restaurant is a great choice for those looking for vegan-friendly Turkish cuisine. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with authentic plant-based dishes, including cold appetizers and hot entrees. They also serve delicious pide bread without egg upon request. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create well-balanced flavors in every dish. The attentive staff adds to the overall positive dining experience, making it a delightful culinary destination.
I had the pleasure of dining at Lokanta Restaurant, a Turkish establishment situated in the Qurm Area. I was truly impressed by the genuine flavors and exceptional hospitality. The Adana kebab was expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection, complemented by a mezze platter featuring a delightful array of hummus, baba ghanoush, and tabbouleh. The baklava served for dessert was a delectable indulgence that left me yearning for more. The atmosphere exuded warmth and charm, and the service was impeccable. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking to savor the rich and diverse tastes of Turkish cuisine.

I recently had the delightful experience of dining at Lokanta Restaurant, a charming Turkish establishment nestled in the heart of the Qurm Area. From the moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped by an inviting atmosphere that radiated warmth and authenticity, enhanced by beautiful decor that paid homage to Turkish culture. The menu offered a spectacular array of dishes, each bursting with rich flavors that showcased the essence of traditional Turkish cuisine. Equally impressive was the level of hospitality. The staff exhibited impeccable service, always attentive and eager to enhance the dining experience while ensuring that every need was catered to with a smile. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Lokanta Restaurant to anyone looking to indulge in the rich and diverse flavors of Turkey. It’s a culinary gem that promises not just a meal, but a memorable dining experience filled with genuine hospitality.

The taste of the food was disappointing, far below expectations, especially for the price. The flavors were bland, and the overall quality didn’t match the high cost. For what I paid, I expected much better.
Issam A — Google review
Worst grill I ever tasted in my Oman life. Tasteless food. Breads are too hard like crocodile skin. Only Turkish salad is good. Grilled items are over priced 😱 By the way staffs are very good, customer oriented.
Md.Mustafijur R — Google review
I used to enjoy ordering from here chicken sarma kebab. Now the portion is smaller and the taste is getting worse every time I come again. So this is the end for me.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant decoration is amazing and love to dine here . The price is reasonable somehow

A Turkish restaurant .. Been there number of times .. and for sure going to give them a visit again soon .. the food served is very delicious and light .. it's okay to share the dishes due to the size served .. and the stuff are friendly .. the only thing is going to this place during week days at lunch break, sometimes it can be a struggle lol .. but no worries you will eventually get a parking .. wishing them all the best ..

Café Bateel - Al Mouj is a top café in Oman that offers a refined dining experience with its Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. The menu, crafted by award-winning chefs, showcases gourmet dishes such as salads and pasta, all prepared using the finest ingredients. The warm and sophisticated ambience, along with indoor and al fresco seating options, elevates the overall dining experience.
If you’re looking for a refined yet warm dining experience in Al Mouj, Café Bateel is an absolute gem worth visiting—especially with family! We tried the Chicken Fusilli Pasta and Chicken Coub Sandwiches, and both dishes exceeded our expectations. The pasta was cooked perfectly with rich, creamy flavors, and the chicken was tender and seasoned just right. The sandwich had a delightful crunch and was packed with flavor—definitely something I’d order again. The classic gelato was the perfect sweet finish to our meal. I highly recommend the Vanilla and Greek Yogurt flavors—they’re light, refreshing, and beautifully creamy. The Tiramisu cake was another highlight, striking the perfect balance of sweetness and that signature coffee-cocoa richness. What really elevated our visit was the exceptional service. The staff were very polite, warm, and attentive without being intrusive. Their friendliness added to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but the quality of food, ambiance, and service make it completely worth it. It’s a great spot to relax and enjoy a wholesome meal with loved ones in a lovely setting. ✨ Highly recommended for anyone visiting or living near Al Mouj! A must-visit café for families and food lovers alike.

Review: Bateel Muscat Restaurant I recently dined at Bateel Muscat and had a delightful experience overall. The service was exceptional, with a special mention to Joy, who was attentive and ensured we had a pleasant dining experience. Her warm and friendly demeanor truly stood out. The food was delicious, and each dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. However, I was disappointed to find that the French onion soup was not available during my visit. It was something I was looking forward to, and its absence was a letdown. Another point of disappointment was the chamomile tea. I was expecting loose leaf tea, but it was served in a tea bag instead. This small detail took away from the otherwise high-quality experience. Overall, Bateel Muscat offers tasty food and excellent service, but there are a few areas that could use improvement.
Abhay C — Google review
Cafe Bateel is one of my favourites for a relaxed meal. I highly recommend the grilled salmon with quinoa and a side of sautéed potatoes. Simple, fresh, and full of flavour. I also love their classic balsamic date vinegar, which I often take home. A great spot for both dining and gourmet products.
Ahmed A — Google review
Excellent service and prompt service. Great breakfast with nice views of the marina. Spiced Arabic Qawah is the best. Taste is consistent with other branches. Bateel breakfast combo is good value for money. Dates butter is yummy
Mohamed A — Google review
Outside area nice (at sun set time). Food & drinks are pricey, but that was to be expected in this area and with the reputation they want to keep up. The service (during my visit) was kind of slow. Nobody asked whether we liked our drinks, nor were we asked whether we needed something else. The Dubai branch is better in dealing with customer service, I noticed.
J. T — Google review
Bateel is one of the best dining experience in Almoug. Their breakfast is must-try-rich and incredibly flavorful. We ordered avocado toast with egg and omelette. I highly recommend them there were fresh and well-balanced. The staff were attentive and friendly.
Alghaliya N — Google review
Service was good…i had the grilled chicken it was tasty & full of flavors 👌the margarita pizza not so much
Salem . — Google review
Unfortunately, the food level has declined over the recent years. The desserts used to have so much taste and flavor but now, it’s mediocre at best. The drinks are decent - the coffee, the ice teas and the other drinks with ginger ales and soda. The french toast is also great. However, the rest are questionable. The service is a little slow.

This was our favorite place in all of Oman. The food was sooooo good and the service was even better. It was recommended by a local and was better than the other more popular places we visited.
Naheaan I — Google review
Not my first time here, and definitely not my last. Mandoos has become my go-to for proper Omani comfort food. I don’t even look at the menu anymore — it’s always King Fish Matfi, Mishkak Salona, dried shark (Maasorat Awal), Shuwa, and Mqalai. They just get it right every single time.
Ahmed A — Google review
Our worst omani food experience. We’ve been to several other places that were much better. Food was not great, service was worse. Atmosphere was just OK, sparse. Would not recommend.

We have ordered from here multiple times. For what you pay, you really get a great deal. It saves you on money and time just needed to marinade before BBQ. When my cousins and I decide we want BBQ just so that we can chitchat, we simply call to order, pick everything up, fire our grills and in less than 30 minutes everything is ready to start. After that, it's all enjoyment :-)

Dont waste your time. Indian food should be full of flavours l however the food we had was tasteless. The only taste was the red hot chillie. The protion of the meat in the bryiani and the carry was only bones. Even the coke had no gas at all. I would give it 2 out of 5.
