Hamburger restaurant
Shake Shake Shake is a retro-themed restaurant located in Tacoma's Stadium District, offering classic American burgers, fries, and shakes in a charming and vibrant setting. The restaurant's interior features a striking aqua and electric orange palette with vintage chairs from the old Elks Club bowling alley. It has a 50s-inspired ambiance that appeals to families, students, and professionals alike.
Google says they close at 9 but they actually close at 8 everyday. We ended up having to take it to go. The food was delicious! The truffle fries were amazing!

When we stepped in no hello or anything. So asked where do we order si ce its our first time. All I got a someone pointing to a sign saying order here with no one at the counter. We ordered i felt like it was expensive but was good. The bathroom was not the cleanest but not the worst. Now to the food it was a decent smash burger the crispness definitely added flavor. The milkshakes were 8 out of 10 Nice retro look 👌
Miccah L — Google review
Great burgers and I love their onion rings!! They’re known for their classic burgers and fries and shakes. LOTS of flavors and amazing tasting milkshakes!! Clean outdoor seating with shade options so you’re not just being fried by the sun. Good quaint throw back to the classic burgers joints. I always enjoy this place!
Kristi — Google review
Cute little place. Fast casual style, order & pay at the counter and someone will bring out your tray. Food was good. Nice burgers. Tots were crispy. Strawberry shakes were nice & thick. Music was a little too artsy/indie for my liking, but not terrible.
Jenn D — Google review
Cute and well styled retro themed burger place. Good burger, warm fries, very tasty shake. Problem comes from the price. My meal was close to 40$. Granted nothings a small portion but that's really high. Another weird thing is that for a place clearly going for a older style setting, they were playing modern hip hop on the speakers? Seems like an odd choice. Plus, some of the chairs were dirty and there was a hole in the ceiling drywall. Good food, but the atmosphere needs some work.
Hayden S — Google review
Neat little burger dive near the high school (Stadium HS) from “10 Things I Hate About You” movie. Burgers, fries, and onion rings all cooked perfectly and were very flavorful. Food came fairly quickly in neat little trays. We were able to share a basket of fries and onion rings between the 3 of us.
David B — Google review
Thank you for another great experience! My impossible burger and onion rings were amazing and thank you for cooking them separate from any meat products. I could totally tell the chef team cares about the food they prepare. I'll be back again! 🫶

If you're in the mood for a cheap burger and some delicious fries, Frisko Freeze is definitely the place to go. The restaurant is open from 10 am to 11 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 2 am on weekends, so there's always something for you to snack on.
I love this place! It's your go to burger and shake place. Burgers are fresh and fries are wonderfully good and tasty. Man that butterscotch milk shake man you better get you one!

Stopped in after arriving at SeaTac airport for a Pacific Northwest road trip with our family! So glad we did everything was so good we all got double cheeseburgers with various things and fries and onion rings. The service was great. Several employees help me order. I told them it was my first time. So nostalgic!!!
Carole P — Google review
I have been coming to Frisko Freeze since I was about 6 years old (over 40 years) and the food has always been delicious, even after changes in ownership. The only negative comment I can give to my favorite Tacoma burger joint is when they get super busy, customer service goes downhill. Recently I stopped in after ordering online to pickup food for my family. When my order was called and I picked up my food, I was quickly ignored as I stood at the window with two out of three shakes I ordered. I had to wave someone down to remind them I was missing a shake. All of them were sticky. Instead of asking for help with cleaning the outside of the cups, I did it myself. Now I needed a drink carrier. I stood there for almost a minute before one of the cooks noticed and I pointed towards the stack of drink carriers for her to walk over and hand me one. It was a hot 90° busy summer day, so I am giving them 4 stars for working a tough shift, but also remember to keep customers service 1st. Still love ya Frisko.

Honestly couldn't even tell you the review on the food at this point. Because I'm so upset with the fact that we parked went inside to the building across the street came out. Ordered food and realized that my car was getting picked up by a tow truck. When I spoke to the person inside about it, she smocked at me, laughed at my daughter's face and then proceeded to say, yeah, we don't allow people to park from the hospital. Mind you. The hospital is for an orthopedic surgeon. For children, so this place is boycotted 100%. If you're going to do that to mom's or family members that are taking care of their children up in an orthopedic surgeon, and you're gonna treat them. This way you will never see my service again. And I hope nobody else goes and helps them out. It's disgusting to treat people like this. And I was not I've been gone from my vehicle that long. And then turned around and gave money to this company that wanted to have my car towed. And to add to that, there was other vehicles that were still sitting there. When we left and came back, so they pinpointed the only vehicle with brand new plates on it. UpdateThe food was garbageThe burger buns were burnt on the bottom and the fries were way too salty. Again across the street from a child's hospital have some coup
Sarah H — Google review
As someone who grew up on In-N-Out and lived near a Five Guys, I have to say Frisko Freeze is amazing! The bun flavor and texture, the flavor and fixings on the cheeseburger, the crispy on the outside but soft on the inside french fries... Delicious!
Däsha M — Google review
If you're just looking for a nice hamburger with some fries, simple down home No-frills, but amazing taste. This is the place to go. We haven't been here in years and just the memories alone was worth the stop. I would highly recommend them if you just want simple. Old fashioned non complicated food. One of the best hamburgers i've had in years. Well worth the price, which by the way was cheaper than fast food, but better tasting.
LaDale F — Google review
It is disturbing to think about the kind of food the people are normally eating who are saying this place has good food. This place has terrible burgers. The meat was way overcooked and the cheese looked like it had pretty much been rinsed off from the grease cooking out of the meat. They put cooked onions on it that were more grease than onions and the bun was soaked in grease. So after changing the bun, putting new cheese on it, and adding decent condiments I still had an overcooked crappy burger that cost more than it should also there milk shakes are not at all good
Jessica A — Google review
We've been here a handful of times over the last few years. I plan on ordering something different but always end up sticking with the same thing, because it's consistently great. Double cheeseburger and blackberry shake. Service has always been friendly and the food comes quick. Prices are very reasonable. I like these old style drive ins.

Hamburger restaurant
Burger Broiler, a renowned burger eatery in Tacoma, Washington since 2012, has gained popularity among people of all ages. With their focus on providing an exceptional burger experience, they serve delicious burgers made from high-quality meat and offer perfectly cooked hand-cut fries using top-notch potatoes. Additionally, their classic shakes are blended with fresh fruits to enhance the taste. Comparable to the famous In-N-Out, Burger Broiler stands out with its similar flavors and appearance in their burgers and fries.
The reviews did not lie - this place is absolutely amazing! The food is so incredible that even when you’re full, you still crave more. Highly recommend the quesobirria tacos - they’re made with homemade corn tortillas. I also loved the Al pastor street tacos, carne asada street tacos and the chicken strips with fries. I read that the burgers are amazing as well but sadly I didn’t try. The service was amazing! Overall, such a good find and will definitely come back!
Kaeli W — Google review
The food was not good, it was absolutely amazing!!! Every last bite! Lots of seating, and food came quick! And still hot! Will go back!
Lusia G — Google review
Like heaven on earth in Tacoma, you can get street tacos, and a perfect cheeseburger in the same place! Highly recommended.
Michael S — Google review
They have changed a little over the years and recently combined the Mexican restaurant with their burger place. Burgers still taste broiled and they have decent buns and toppings you can grab from the side when dining in. Fries are steak fries when they used to be shoe string but are still good with a soft but slightly crisp outside. Not firm. The grey sauce is great and in general this place can appease parents and kids if you're looking for a variety. Didn't expect major deal prices here but standard and reasonable.
Mark N — Google review
Everything about this place gets an A+. The customer service is always pleasant and going above and beyond. The food is always great. I make a point to order something I normally wouldn’t here because I know I won’t be disappointed, and I haven’t yet. I spent many years as a barista, so imagine my surprise when I ordered a coffee with actual espresso shots in it from a burger/taco place. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for Mexican food in Tacoma/Parkland. Its almost like THE taco bus in Puyallup (that was in the gas station parking lot that now has its own store front) frugals, and gravity coffee collided. As a side note, the employees all make it a point to keep it as clean as possible. Eat local!
Nikita J — Google review
They have the best Mexican food here!!! The service was great and we got our food right away. If you haven't tried this place yet I would definitely recommend trying it!

Some of the best burgers I've had. Seems like the ventilation is better since I last came inside. Very clean and fast service freshly made meat that they say is never frozen speaks to the dedication of the workers are amazing and a asset on the job and if they live life like the way they work then they must be a blessing to know. Frugals, an old-fashioned drive-thru establishment, has gained attention for its traditional burgers and milkshakes served at the window. The food is of high quality and reasonably priced. I ordered two burger combos, a milkshake, and cheese curds for less than $30. The cheese curds are a must-try item; they were my favorite part of the meal. They had a crispy exterior and gooey interior.
Drive thru only. I thought they were quick even though they apologized to me for my wait and gave me a 2 dollar off my next purchase. But I didn’t think they were slow but wasn’t going to turn down the two dollars. It tasted like good fast food. I wish my fries had been fresher but maybe they were and cooled off a bit on my drive home. But they were fine not the best fries but completely edible :) but I thought the burger and sandwich were yummy.
Laura H — Google review
This place is definitely a good burger spot! Just thought the burger patties lacked seasoning and the fries were ok not the best but other than that good spot.
Curtis — Google review
Good burger good food just make sure you eat it right away because it will get soggy once you arrive home Employees were very nice

Amazing "frugal " burgers! Alandra was so helpful and patient! She even wiped off our soda cups! 💗
SaraJo B — Google review
Pretty terrible tbh. The shake had very little chocolate or flavor and the consistency of the ice cream could have been smoother. It was a little icy. The burger patty was tough and not juicy. Quit being cheap and squeeze a little more chocolate into the shakes. Jeez.
James R — Google review
Delicious shoe string fries and burgers! I really enjoyed my Oreo shake. The person taking orders was also super personable and went out of his way to be kind. Love this place.
Shae D — Google review
I just got home 10 minutes ago from leaving from this place. I specifically asked for bacon blue cheese on my mushroom Swiss burger with extra salt and pepper. They charge me for the bacon, but didn’t give me the bacon at all. I tried to call and they always have their phone off at night. This is bad customer service, especially if something seriously was gonna happen and their manager never once answered the phone cause they always wanna leave it off the hook. I suggest the owner of this place fixes this issue, but this is the reason why I’m giving a poor star.
Enee S — Google review
We probably order the cheeseburgers at Frugals averaging about once a month for years. Today they were the BEST we’ve ever had and I went back and gave compliments to the chef! 👍 I think people are so quick to give out complaints … I’m happy to give praise when they exceed expectations!

Restaurant
Flipping Out Burgers & Fries is a lively fast-food spot that specializes in crafting burgers using their own ground Angus beef and serving them alongside fries. Despite its unassuming exterior, the eatery offers delectable burgers at great prices. The menu features classic-style burgers and sides, with specialty options like the John Wayne and Chuck Norris. One must-try item is the bacon cheeseburger.
Nice little neighborhood burger bar. I had a great CB with all the fixin's I love, I asked for OR's to be crispy (I hate soggy) that were perfect, and a REAL ice cream milkshake that was like homemade. Michael made us feel very welcome and appreciated. Great food at reasonable prices and wonderful service made it feel like a special occasion rather than 'just fillin' the hole' with another gut bomb. Good Flippin' Meal! Thanks.
Jim W — Google review
Let's start this review with a simple 'you gotta love this place, and I really mean it.' My wife and I have been wanting to go here and tonight we finally got the opportunity. When you walk inside you'll notice the nostalgic feel and when you see the menu, you will definitely know that it's more about the food than the atmosphere!. Every burger is dedicated to an iconic phrase, or even an action hero, but you really need to pay attention to the awesome prices as well. I ordered the six (6) piece shrimp basket with fries and my wife got her go-to ' chicken tenders with sweet potato fries ' < literally anywhere she goes. Now look. People will tell you that food like that is so basic and you can find it just about anywhere, but you would be wrong. Food is different by how it's prepared, cooked and by who is in front of that grill, and I got the opportunity to meet the owner (Michael), of Flipping Out Burgers and he truly makes it worth eating here. Almost every place similar to Flipping Out you'll find that they will throw a frozen patty on the grill, not here!. They blend and grind their own beef for the burgers and I know this because the owner actually showed me!. I'm not trying to church anything up at all, I'm giving you an unadulterated opinion of a great laid back, chill kind of place you should check out. Side note: the Coconut Shrimp are 100% legit good.
Ken F — Google review
Love this location nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Amazing food and service (kind owner!) - was glad to have us and checked on our stay (we were the only ones there at that time). Patio seating, and restrooms - nice menu with a la carte choices. Choose the blue cheese burger with waffle fries. Just the right amount of food where I was filled. The meal tasted heavenly and the burger was charred a bit. Fresh veggies and lots of melted cheese! Fries easily filled me up. Prices adequate for 2025 economy. Definitely worth coming again - a new fave spot!
Eny D — Google review
Very good burger. I got a double bacon cheese with everything on it. Very very tasty. One small complaint is it seemed to be a bit over salted. Not enough to ruin the burger, but I think a little less would’ve gone a long way. The bun was nothing special, but it held together well throughout the burger. The toppings were fresh and the fried onions were excellent. Service was fast and friendly.
John E — Google review
The food was hot and fresh and the service was great! The cheeseburger was really good but the grilled onions made the top bun kinda soggy even though I ate it right away. The chili cheese fries were also quite delicious.
Rowdy — Google review
Food served hot. Veggie burger looks burned. If you’re a vegan, make sure to substitute mayo for ketchup. It definitely didn’t stay in my stomach like it should. French friends smell kind of fishy… sigh
Zub Z — Google review
It wasn't bad. They have a decent burger. My granddaughter liked the fries 🍟. I think the meat could have been seasoned a bit better. A bit expensive.

Michael (owner) is a G. He grinds the beef in house and everything comes out fresh. The veggie patty also got an A plus rating from my vegetarian partner. Delicious burgers that are well worth the price. Also, very dog friendly with nice outdoor seating!

Fast food restaurant
Lefty's Burger Shack is a laid-back eatery that serves up burgers, hot dogs, and milkshakes from a surf-themed shack with a walk-up window. The restaurant was opened in 2011 by Pam Hubert in an old building that used to house a walk-up burger stand. Despite the absence of indoor seating, customers are drawn to the delicious food at great prices.
HITS THE SPOT ~ My son and I while out exploring the back roads on our Harleys when we found this little joint. Plenty of parking and had that old burger joint feel. The woman taking our order was friendly and making us laugh. There were about 29 people in front of us but the line kept moving. The food took longer than a fast food establishment. But when you got your order. It was well worth the wait. The fries were perfect golden and fluffy on the inside. The dogs were perfectly cooked and juicy. And the burger was spot on. We will be back that’s for sure.
Joe V — Google review
Wanted some burgers on our way home and found this little place. Good burgers. Excellent fry sauce. Wait was a little long but it was busy. Only have a few tables outside to eat at. Can get onion rings and fries together for a taste of both. Kids said shakes were good too.
Michelle S — Google review
I tried their Bacon Cheese burger ($6.75), a Double Cheese burger ($7.95) and a Raspberry milkshake ($5.25). Everything tasted good, especially the double cheese burger. The cheese melted around the patty and made it taste kinda creamy. The milkshake was great. It was quite busy, we waited for about 20 minutes. They have plenty of parking and about 7 picnic tables.
Jesse A — Google review
I had read so much about this place, I had to see if it was worth the hype. It did after all. The burger was super juicy and not greasy at all. I had the mushrooms and onions burger and it did not disappoint. The chocolate oreo shake was a perfect consistency. Wish it was bigger than a 16 oz but I was really full afterwards. Would definitely come back and recommend it for other burger fanatics.
Justin S — Google review
1st time on May 10, 2025, and immediately pulling up, there was a bit of traffic. Upon walking up, the menu looked interesting. I ordered 2 bacon cheese burgers and 1 blue cheese. I got all 3 bacon cheeseburgers. The burgers are not good and have many gristles, which are not easy to chew. The half fries half onion rings are just 3 onion rings and the rest fries. Bread does not seem fresh and, overall, 1st and last visit. Frisko Freeze or Luckys it is. I don't recommend it at all!
Mrs. H — Google review
This is hands down my favorite restaurant find of the year. It’s a total time capsule. I love the whole design they’ve got going on and the way the menu doesn’t try to do too much. They know exactly what they’re good at. I got a deluxe bacon cheeseburger, a shake, and some fries, and it was all under $20. This place is perfect for grabbing a good old American burger, a little slice of that classic roadside charm. Plus they’ve got benches made out of old surfboards, which is just so cool.
Tonio — Google review
Ok after serious deliberation, a Einstein level of mathmatics, and a small existential crisis, I have decided that this is the best burger I have ever had in my life. The double deluxe is the perfect balance of ingredients, packed with flavor, and all at a price that won't break the bank. I will say I am not a fan of crinkle fries, they are clearly the worst form of potato, however their onion rings are amazing. Service was fast, there was a constant line of about 3-4 people but no one was waiting long, they zipped through and got our food quickly. Lastly, that shake... I'm a big banana shake fan and they nailed this. We will absolutely be back for some more of the best burger in Tacoma.
Michael S — Google review
Look. You have to go to understand why it takes awhile for your name to be called, so what. When I tell you it's worth the wait, it's actually worth the wait!. When you pull into the parking lot, be patient and don't rush to get to the window because there will be a disorganized makeshift line and everyone waiting, knows who's next. The menu is located above the order and pick up window and you're going to notice that everything is written in chalk ( nostalgic to say the least ).. anyhoo hoo. My wife ordered the single patty burger and I ordered a double cheeseburger with Fringe, it's a combination of fries and onion rings. My wife also got a chocolate shake and I'll throw it out there, they are extremely smooth and creamy. The food is classic burgers, fries, chicken baskets, etc, but the craziest thing about it was the wait. It truly was worth the wait!! It was about families and friends, along with perfect strangers hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere.

All their burgers are made to order and prepared with great care. They also offer good gluten-free choices for those with dietary restrictions.
Whenever I’m craving a big juicy burger I go here. Hands down best burger spot in Tacoma. The portions are huge! I got a double cheeseburger with fries for $11.99!! The milkshakes are to die for. Highly recommend the biscoff Oreo! The PB burger sounds weird but oh so good. As well as the loaded sidewinder fries. Don’t forget to try their Spanky sauce! No dine in though. Takeout only.

Street parking is a bit difficult due to other businesses in the area. The atmosphere is a tad industrial feeling. The service was fair. The prices were pretty affordable. There is wheel chair access and high chairs are available. Place your order at the counter and have a seat whereever you'd like. I ordered the buffalo (grilled) chicken sandwich. It was very good. The bun wasn't chewy or tough and the chicken breast was tender. The fries were absolutely phenomenal! The other party that I dined with had the bacon Bleu burger. The burger was cooked to perfection with ample toppings. I'm pleased with our dining selection.

Very quick. Only took 10 minutes to get our food. Definitely one of the best burgers I have tried. I looked at other reviews and wanted to repeat this, but the milkshakes are to DIE for. Really really good. Take out only.

Spanky Burger & Brew is hands down one of the best burger spots I’ve ever been to. The burgers are top notch, the fries are fresh, and the onion rings are actually delicious (not the frozen kind you find most places). I’m jealous this place is independently owned because I wish we could open one up in Texas. Tacoma, you’ve got a gem here!
Carl A — Google review
The burger is really good. I'm just not sure it's really as good as everyone says. It's still a fantastic burger experience. It's a smash burger and it's reasonable, but with new contenders line Radnor's or more traditional places like Red Wagon, Stacks, Burger Broiler, Flipping Out to name a few or regular bar fare places, it changes the appeal compared to a place where there's a sit down environment that's nearly as good in it's own right.

Just doing take out right now (April 2024). We ordered and then took a walk while we waited our 25-30 minute wait time. When we returned our food was ready and still very hot- perfect timing! We ate on the steps of the pancake house out front. No public restroom at this time. We opted for the sidewinder fries and they were delicious. Very large portions, so leftovers all around. I didn’t love the sparky sauce, but really enjoyed the rest of the ingredients in the double cheeseburger and my partner loved their pulled pork. Would recommend and will return.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere! Vibe was chill and mellow and the ladies behind the counter were beyond helpful. I have Celiac Disease and they went above and beyond for my allergy. Highly recommend here for Gluten-free food and something tasty to eat and drink. Everything was absolutely killer.

Hands down the best burger in the 253. Even getting it to-go, and not eating it for another 15 minutes.. The Burger is THE BEST!!! And the fries and onion rings somehow didn't get soggy from the steam being in the bag that extra time. The chipotle mayo might be the best sauce I've ever got from a restaurant. Spanky's SPANKS!!!

Burger Seoul is a popular food truck in Tacoma that has gained local fame for its unique Korean-inspired burgers and sandwiches. The owner, Young La, has created signature items like the Seoul Burger, featuring thinly sliced Northwest beef and short rib topped with cheddar cheese, spinach, onions, and Seoul sauce. Another favorite is the spicy Fire Soul with Korean grilled pork, lettuce, pickled spicy cucumber, and hot sauce on a brioche bun.
What a great experience! The restaurant was very clean and had a neat and natural aesthetic. The service was great! I think this man may have been the owner or manager, he had a pink beanie, very attentive and kind. The burger was so good, cooked well and had a nice flavor. I got the burger with guacamole and ALL of the ingredients were fresh!

Great service and cute atmosphere! The food was solid overall. I really enjoyed the homemade pickles—definitely a standout. The sauce was decent, though not quite my favorite. Fries were seasoned, but unfortunately tasted strongly of garlic powder, which threw me off. We tried the Seoul Burger and the Smash Burger; the smash-style Smash Burger was much better in my opinion. I’d definitely come back to try something different next time. Great service and a really cute vibe made the experience worthwhile!

One word: AMAZING!!! This burger joint brings Korean twist to your burgers making you want more! We tried the GOAT burger aka the Seoul burger and it was spot on. I had mine with gluten free bun. Sweet potato fries were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. All the ingredients were fresh and blend well together. We are visiting the area but we are coming back once again to try the Fire chicken sandwich and the smash patty as it looked amazing! I totally recommend this place. Owner is friendly and came to check on us. Very approachable which added some connection to our experience. It was just perfect:)

This was one of the best burgers i have had in a long long time. I got the double smash, it was so much bigger then i expected that i barely touched the fries, so next time i am only getting fries if i have someone to share them with so i can focus on the star of the show, that burger. I cannot wait to go back and tell everyone about it. There is some parking in the lot and some small seating on the inside and bigger tables outside. I went pre lunch time rush so I was in and out quickly.

I’ll start this off like this… please come to West Seattle. This place would crush it in our part of town!! You’d see me weekly for sure. I had the bulgogiger… it was the BOMB. Perfect marinade on the beef, texture was amazing. House made pickles were the perfect kinda kimchi touch. I’d give it a 9/10. The iceberg lettuce, I’d swap out for a shredded version and some of that fire sauce on the bottom and it’s close to perfect. My son got the Seoul burger and the cheese was perfection. It was super sharp and had cracked pepper all throughout it. Maybe the best burger cheese I’ve had (at least that I can remember). The fries, couldn’t ask for more. The milkshakes were phenomenal, seemed like French vanilla (had the speckles). I even bought a jar of the pickles to take home. This place is worth a 45 minute drive.

The food is always delicious and flavorful. It’s so much more than your average burger and so filling. The owner has a lot of heart for the business and food and makes sure the high quality is always there!

This was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. The burger was cooked perfect and the sauce is outstanding! The garlic fries are addicting. The staff was extremely kind and polite and the owner was wonderful and made us feel very welcomed! I would recommend everyone try Burger Seoul, you wont be disappointed!

Everything EXCELLENT from location, parking, ambiance & service. Our half pound Seoul burger cooked to perfection dressed with fresh veggies. Pickles & kimchi deliciously supported order. One star short only because pork belly sandwich was a tad dry with little seasonings. Appreciated Server Young checking in on all customers. A definite return during our annual visits from Hawaii🤙

If you're on the hunt for a casual dining experience that caters to gluten-free diets, look no further than Friesenburgers in Tacoma. This counter-service gem specializes in an array of burgers featuring various proteins, including their standout half-pound Friesenburger loaded with cheese, bacon, and egg. The menu also boasts delicious hot dogs and thick-cut fries—all gluten-free!
Best burger in my life. Service time: 10 Courtesy: 10 Portion Size: 10 Taste: 10 I had the original burger they make and it was fantastic! The patty was cooked to perfection, the sauce was amazing, their fries were perfect, and the veggies were fresh! I couldn't have asked for a better burger. If you haven't come here, please do! You won't regret it!

Great burgers and fries. Gluten free hidden gem. My boyfriend and I both got the gluten-free Friesenburger with steak fries. Highly recommend. The fry sauce is a nice twangy version and goes great on their burger or with the steak fries. The decor is lacking, but very open and relaxed, not snooty! . Reminds me of some great joints in Brooklyn. I love places like this that serve you quality food that is cooked great and you pay for that, not a fancy booth to sit in for 30 minutes. The staff was pleasant and genuine. I will visit again when in town.

One of my favorite places in Downtown Tacoma, and I need to go again soon! The burgers are insane, delicious, and gluten-free, meaning more people can enjoy it with little risk! The prices were also very reasonable, the last time I went I was a high schooler with barley any money and I could still afford a great meal.
Nickolus P — Google review
It was listed as Passport approved, only once we got there they said they no longer honored it. I ordered 2 burger combos, one bison and one gluten free, and I paid nearly $40, so not the cheapest option. And the meat was about as thick as a Big Mac patty. Not going back there again.
Ryan R — Google review
These were by far the best gluten free burgers I'd ever had outside of my own kitchen where my fiancee makes amazing burgers. They get their gluten free buns from a place in Colorado and it shows that they took the time to find the best ones. he fries were great and their knowledge of my disease, complete with a small library of gluten free cookbooks available to look at while I waited, made this place a five star for me easily. It was so good that on the way back through this area after visiting Olympic National Park we went back for the Friesenburger AGAIN! Bacon, cheese, burger, bacon, cheese, burger, fried egg!!
Brett C — Google review
I don't understand why this place has such good reviews. I ate the original friesenburger and onion rings. The onion rings were crispy, which is good, but they just tasted like grease. There was nothing special about the burger- it had an egg on it, big whoop. The patties and the egg were pretty greasy, and not in a good way. The bun was mushy, tasteless, textureless and unable to hold the thing together. For a burger shack type of place is really expensive! You might as well go to a good restaurant and get a good burger for this money. It's also pretty run down, awkward and a little scary inside. The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because I've eaten worse burgers.
Kristopher A — Google review
This unassuming burger place definitely delivers a delicious burger. Maybe not the most inventive but definitely reliable. Plus they have an expansive gluten-free menu if you're celiac. If not get over yourself.

Very friendly service. Mini-bison burger was awesome and the side salad came with chopped tomatoes, bacon and cheese. Although "mini", it definitely filled me up. It was the size a large burger with 1/4 pounds and all those toppings. Tabasco at the tables always a plus.

Mikie Burger, once known as the iconic Little Holland drive-in, has successfully revived the beloved flavors that made it a local favorite. The cashier was polite and service was very prompt. I had ordered a cheddar bacon ranch burger which wasn't anything extraordinary but was blown away by how great and home style the milkshake and fries were. The marshmallow milkshake had a creamy, fluffy texture and was honestly the best milkshake I've ever tasted.

SADLY , Little Holland has CLOSED forever. A Great Tacoma Burger Icon is gone. The original recipe is back! The last several times I have been here the food is great! Only place in town that puts Canadian Bacon on the Burger!

Really enjoyed the meal. Mike Burger has Canadian bacon on it, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato onion, so good! Onion rings are the best and a strawberry shake, I thought I was in heaven!

Fries are a little strange, burgers are ok (Canadian bacon round circle is a bad choice in my opinion), shakes are good, food delivery is quite slow. Not recommended for a lunch break due to the extra long wait.

Southern Kitchen is a bustling and casual spot located on Tacoma's 6th Avenue strip, offering authentic and delicious soul food. The restaurant provides a fun and kitschy atmosphere with colorful oilcloth tablecloths, Mason drinking jars, and iconic decor. Guests can enjoy favorites like fried chicken, collard greens, catfish filet sandwich, fried green tomatoes, strawberry lemonade, grits and eggs, fried pork chop, chicken-fried steak with grits and eggs, homemade biscuits and gravy.
Came up from Lacey for a birthday lunch for my son’s 21st birthday. Loved the bright, cheerful decor! We were greeted immediately by a very friendly waitstaff. Ordered quickly. Food took a bit longer than expected but was DELICIOUS and worth the wait. Fried green tomatoes, catfish and greens are some of my favorite foods and these were cooked impeccably. They even treated us with a group sized peach cobbler for the 8 of us! So yummy! Thank you for helping make his birthday a little bit sweeter! We will be back!

My husband and I were so excited to try this place but were a bit let down. We were seated right away but waited over an hour for our food. Food was good but a bit pricey. We loved how big the drinks were and the jars they were in, tasted homemade for sure. Inside is super cute.

If you don’t feel at home here you’re not going to feel at home anywhere. If you aren’t stuffed full walking out then you must have hollow legs. Real southern food in the PNW is right here. Done right, just like my Nana from South Carolina used to make. Southern biscuits and gravy with eggs or grits for breakfast, catfish and okra lunch, chicken fried steak or fried chicken or catfish dinner… The fried green tomatoes are the best ever- and I mean THE BEST! The giant mason jars filled with sweet tea or lemonade with fresh fruit are so delicious. There just isn’t a way to get around wanting to order far more items than you can eat in one sitting! 🍳 🤤 If you don’t have room for dessert take something home with you. Bread pudding, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie… 🥧 All homemade with love. SO good! You’ll be welcomed in and made to feel right at home here. (Be aware that they are popular so if you go at peak times be patient.) Fresh food sourced as locally as possible. (Obviously catfish has to be sourced from Louisiana.) This Is like sitting down in your southern Nana’s home for a delicious meal and a warm hug. You will leave happier and definitely much more full than you came in. ☺️ Don’t hesitate! I drive an hour just to eat here. It’s truly worth the trip. I feel like I’m driving back to a little slice Nana’s house. ❤️ This is THE place for southern comfort food!

Oh my goodness- if you have never been here- get here now! This place is so homey and welcoming- I chose Southern Kitchen for my birthday dinner tonight and it was so so good! Let me start with our amazing server, he was awesome, friendly, always making sure we were doing good- I happened to get his personal favorite the Texas BBQ brisket and I can see why had macaroni and cheese with buttered corned as my sides and oooo my that corn cake topping it off with a blackberry lemonade. Since it was my birthday he gave me a bread pudding on the house! My husband had the catfish and my daughter had the fried chicken. I will choose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday every year! Thank you Southern Kitchen for a wonderful meal and for being wonderful! I am so full still and have plenty of leftovers! Your restaurant and staff are top notch in my opinion ❤️

After moving from CA and missing our soul food place Dulans we have FINALLY come to an authentic soul food restaurant. We were not disappointed and can’t wait to come back and try more. Try the sweet tea, Mac and cheese and the candied yams. 😋 the food came out hot and fresh. The music and service just made our visit that much better.

Country cookin like it is meant to be... Everyone says they have Southern recipes and flavor... Soul Kitchen actually does. We were on vacation to the North West and just used Google map to find our dinner. Might as well been in Alabama. YES it is soul food... so good.

What a hidden gem. Great service, food, and atmosphere. First, find the small pink building in the small lot that needs work. Then enter the blue door into a blaze of color, soul color, that just brings life into a burst of joy. Take your seat and find your way through the menu. Like lemonade? Like strawberries? Love creamy and rich whipped cream? Put the three together for a mouthgasm. Sooo good! Then on the food. Excellent and bountiful portions. And the sides are plenty to pick from. Grab a main, and if you like brisket dive into a plate of mouth watering tender heaven. Collard greens are lively with flavor. And the service, was fantastic. Friendly and attentive. Two people, drinks and entree was $65. And we had leftovers. I couldn't finish it all. Go and enjoy!
Beth W — Google review
Last night I arrived and ordered our food around 7pm. Spent $46 on a fry chicken platter with two sides with yam and Mac. I also got a lemonade and fried chicken sandwich. The sides were small. I asked the guy if it automatically comes with cornbread he said yes. When I arrived home and unpack my food not only were the portions small but the cornbread was missing !!!!! That’s literally what I really came to try. Are you kidding me ?! Besides that the yams tasted and smelled like it was sitting in the kitchen. I’m not sure how to describe it. It’s like you can taste the smell of the environment if that makes sense. I didn’t like that and my 6 year old who loves yams didn’t even want them off my plate lol. The chicken wasn’t as flavorful as I thought and the breast or thigh they gave me wasn’t really all the way done cooking. Maybe because I’m a chef the food wasn’t impressive to me. But if you don’t know anything about real soul food you would like it. More seasoning and the chicken needs to be done, bigger portions for the price is needed and whatever or however the yams are being stored or if they were old.. something needs to be done and make sure the people get their CORNBREAD for take out !!!!Thank you. I’d probably try again in a year on a drunk night. Besides all that food took about 30mins. BEST THING FROM MY ORDER WAS THAT DAMN STRAWBERRY LEMONADE. If you look at the dine in plate sizes to mine.. you could see a difference. Don’t do that to people we spending our hard earned working money on your place of business, especially in this economy with inflation at all time high. Please put some respect on our dollars spent. Thank you.

Located in Fife, Washington, PICK-QUICK Drive In is a chain of drive-in restaurants that has been serving delicious food since 1949. The restaurant prides itself on using natural ingredients and eco-friendly practices. Their menu includes locally sourced burgers, hot dogs, hand-cut fries, beverages, and a variety of ice cream flavors. The 1950s-style digs and spotless park-like outdoor seating make it a charming stop for the whole family.
This cute little burger shack is simply wonderful. It's been around since 1949 and serves their food fresh to order. Usually at least a few customers in line at all time so you know it is popular. Today it was slammed and majority of the out door dining picnic tables were filled. The cooks still got our order out faster than some McDonald's I have been to. Food quality is excellent and the portions are big compared to what you pay for your food. With my cheese burger and fries I got a blue berry milkshake. I was sceptical at first but it was love after first sip. The last time I came and got a shake from here, I had gotten the cherry milkshake and it was also great, but this blueberry one is unexpected a delight. I highly recommend trying this place at least once, because I'm sure you'll thank me later.

PICK-QUICK Drive In – First Visit Review Stopped in today for lunch for the first time after hearing great things about PICK-QUICK Drive In and I’m happy to say it lived up to the hype. We wanted to try a few different items to get a good feel for the menu. Here's how everything stacked up: Customer Service: Top-notch. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, walking me through the menu and explaining what comes on each burger. Great first impression. Double Cheeseburger: A highlight of the meal. It comes with pickle, tomato, special sauce, and onion (your choice of grilled or raw). I opted out of the pickles and tomatoes (don't like them), and it was fantastic. The two thin patties were packed with beefy flavor, the bun was soft yet had a nice chew, and the special sauce added a sweet, tangy punch that tied everything together. The raw onions were sliced just right, not overpowering at all. Highly recommend. Chili Burger: Same quality patties and bun, but topped with a generous helping of chili. I mean generous! This is definitely a fork-and-knife burger once you get it home. The chili had a great flavor and really complemented the burger. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Chili Cheese Fritos: Exactly what it sounds like, classic chili cheese Fritos. Not particularly memorable for me, but my wife absolutely loved them. That’s a win in my book, and she'd definitely get them again. Fries: These were just okay for me. They had a nice potato flavor but lacked seasoning and salt. Thin and semi-firm, they might be a hit with others, but I personally wouldn’t go out of my way for them. Strawberry Malt: A showstopper. Creamy, rich ice cream blended with real strawberry chunks and a bold malt flavor. I regretted not getting a larger size, it was that good. Highly recommend. Overall: A great first experience. Quality food, amazing customer service, and a couple of standout items that will have me coming back next time I’m in the area. Worth the visit!

Stopped by Pick Quick Drive-In in Fife, and I appreciated that they now accept credit cards. It definitely makes things more convenient compared to their previous cash-only setup. There’s plenty of outdoor seating, and it actually feels like they’ve added more since my last visit. The parking lot, however, is still a bit chaotic and unmarked, which isn’t a problem when it’s empty but gets tricky during peak hours. As always, the food hits the spot after stopped by the dealership with their classic drive-in fare done right. It can feel a bit heavy depending on what you order. Service is fast and no-frills, which matches the old-school vibe. It’s a solid local spot for a quick and satisfying meal when you’re craving burgers and shakes. JY review

Stack 571 Burger & Whiskey Bar is a trendy restaurant that offers creative burgers, sandwiches, and craft cocktails in a stylish rustic setting. The menu features unique options like the Bahn Mi and Three Pepper Bomb, all made with certified natural beef and topped with fresh ingredients and sauces. This Point Ruston eatery provides a satisfying dining experience, with friendly hosts who are willing to accommodate requests. It's an ideal place for families to enjoy their meal in a pleasant atmosphere.
It feels like Tacoma has more burger places than fire hydrants. Most offer decent burgers, but few are unique in any way as to be memorable. Stack 571 has great burgers and a relaxed, casual environment to enjoy them in. But what really sets them apart are their whiskeys and milkshakes that can be boosted with whiskey or rum. On our most recent visit, we had sandwiches - Ruston Club and No Joke Nashville Hot Chicken - both of which were delicious, and a Key lime milkshake. The milkshake was out of this world; it actually tasted like you were drinking a great Key lime pie. They even got the crunchy graham cracker crust in there. This was their milkshake of the month, so I’m glad I got to try it before it’s gone. My only caution about this place is that it can be crowded on the weekends, which is not surprising since it’s next to the movie theater. We came for lunch on a weekday, so we got a table pretty easily.
Karl S — Google review
Great option of a wide variety of food that can accommodate almost anyone who may be looking for a savory or sweet item. They have a decent of milkshakes that I am sure can be made for an adult or child. They got meaty burgers that are mouth-watering hard to resist for meat lovers. I did enjoy their Happy Hour, which had a select appetizer and drinks. I did get the Fried Green Tomato's, which weren't too bad, but did lack a minor sessioning. However, the fries with hot gravy and cheese curds and caramelized onions are a home run. Another slight issue was that my glass was dirty and had left lip residue on my glass by a patron who dined in earlier than I did.

The food here was very tasty. Our server, Logan, was timely and helpful with the menu. We were informed that the kitchen was backed up, but it wasn't a very long wait. It was crowded, but there was plenty of space to feel like you were dining privately.

Always enjoy coming here. They do not take reservations. during the summer on the weekends There can be up to an hour long wait . however I noticed that they expanded their patio seating so perhaps that won’t be an issue this summer. It has great food and conversation starting artworks hang all around.

Took my husband here for Fathers Day, Easy going atmosphere, we waited sometime for server. We were unhappy with our seating situation and did ask to move wasn’t a problem. Staff was nice. Drinks were good. What I wanted wasn’t available so an alternative was picked. We enjoyed the evening nothing popped out to make it exceptional was just a normal dinner. If you are looking for a Burger and Bourbon this would be the spot. My son didn’t have a lot of options for chicken, strips or anything just spicy ones.
Ceeasia32 — Google review
We got the queso fundito start and it was ok. It was pretty grainy and the flavor was so so but it was cheese sauce and it’s hard to really dislike cheese sauce. The burger dip was on a good roll but didn’t have a ton of flavor. The Nashville chicken sandwich was pretty disappointing. The sauce had decent heat but it was way too sweet and the “soft white bread” it was served on was kind of dry. The Parmesan truffle fries were ok. Decent crisp and fine flavor. The waffle fries were quite good and the stack sauce for dipping was tasty. I’d give this place another chance and try a few different items but not in a rush to go back.

Coming here and seeing a 4.3 is upsetting cause this place deserves more than a 5 star. I’ve been really into burgers for the past 5 years and have tried a lot of spots that get attention but this place beat all of them by an extremely far amount. I got the fatty sow burger and it was genuinely the best burger I’ve ever had in my life by far I mean no burger comes close to as good as this one was. The sliders were amazing to but also I can’t forget about the waffle fries I got to not only did this place have the best burger I’ve ever tried but also the best waffle fries cooked to absolute perfection with the best fry sauce also. I will definitely be coming here more and hope to see this place gets the recognition it deserves. Also the employees were extremely respectful and comforting I wish I could remember the name of my server but the food was so good that I didn’t really catch his name

The atmosphere was comfortable and medium casual. Their menu was well put together and versatile, all good choices! I got the Mac n cheese topped with steak tips, it was well presented and rich. My friend got a salad, and found it fresh and well portioned. I recommend the fried Brie, the dish was delicious!

✨ If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would! The food was phenomenal every bite was full of flavor and made with such care. To top it off, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. It’s rare to find a place where the service, food, and atmosphere all align so perfectly. I’ll be recommending this gem to everyone I know and then some! Can’t wait to come back. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Had a great experience! Eric, the owner is amazing; he made us feel very welcome and accommodated. The food was well presented and delicious 😋 Can’t wait for our next visit!

I really wanna give this place 5 stars. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the servers were very nice. However it seems due to staffing issues the servers were very busy and making minor mistakes. It is at no fault of their own. They were all working very hard and running around the restaurant the entire time. I ordered the ribeye and it was a great portion/ cooked perfectly to medium rare.
Korey K — Google review
Food I would give 7/10. The apps we had were pretty solid (order the brie!!!) but the paella was somewhat lacking in flavor. Cocktails were pretty good (what you’d expect) but the service was pretty slow and the place was not very crowded. The food came out quickly and the person who took care of us was very friendly. Maybe would have ordered more if the service was faster.
S T — Google review
I echo other reviewers - if I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Incredible wagyu burger and sweet potato fries (ordered mine with bacon and avocado), and the Alpine Meadows spirit-free beverage was the best mocktail I’ve ever had. Our group ordered a piece of the carrot cake and someone said “this is the best carrot cake I’ve ever had.” So, go here, you’ll leave with a happy stomach.

I am blown away by how delicious the food is! The staff were also very attentive and hospitable. We will be back, because the menu was loaded with great things to try and we felt very welcomed there. Pricing is very reasonable! I'm still raving about the food!

Shakabrah is a popular breakfast and lunch spot located on 6th Avenue in North Tacoma. It's known for its hearty egg dishes, pancakes, burgers, and sandwiches. The restaurant offers a wallet-friendly menu with options for everyone, including vegan and vegetarian choices. While the wait times can be long on weekends, the delicious food and friendly service make it worth it.
They will seat you but you have to go up to the counter to order. I ordered the magic Shakas (peppers, onions, zucchin, squash, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes) with potatoes O'Brien and eggs over easy, my friend ordered the Cowboy hash(brisket, bell peppers, onions, and BBQ sauce). My dish was very fulfilling, large portions. Everything I wanted from a breakfast dish was there, even though the portion was so big, it didn't feel heavy, it was mostly veggies but the flavor was there, not watery at all as you would expect from mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini, and squash. Upon trying my friends dish, the meat was really juicy and well seasoned. I don't usually go to breakfast places but this one was everything I wanted. I would recommend.

First impression definitely a old building (we love hole in the wall places) we always find it the best food for the best prices. However this place was very confusing. We walked in and no one greeted, until someone behind the counter said hi and that's it. We sat down for a little bit not knowing what to do. Then someone approached and explained that there are two sides to the place. Where we walked in is basically self service. & the other side is full service. We ended up moving to the other side. & were finally handed some menus. We were expecting a more hawaiian theme food as (I'm hawaiian) and the name of the place is shakabrah. However it's just regular breakfast place. They did have Loco moco on there but I think that was it. Hubby: big country breakfast Me: cowboy hash Son: the classic with pancake Overall breakfast was just regular expected I guess. Nothing stood out and the cowboy hash was kind of spicy for me. Which I should of asked or read that it had Chipotle sauce so that was my fault. The portion size was expected for that price. My son did love the pancake though. It was monster size lol. & for $8.50 for one pancake. Overall experience was just ok. Confusing but ok. Is this a place we'd come back to, prolly not, but I guess for locals it's a cute diner place or a place where regulars would go. 4/10 recommend.

We have come a few times. We tried table service and counter service. Both are great. The food is delish, the fruit is fresh, and potatoes are their specialty.

Don't get fooled by the name like we did.  We were looking for a place that served loco moco.  We found this place and saw they opened at 7am.  We were juiced.   Sadly, on this rainy morning we entered it wasn't a Hawaiian place like we thought.  It's a breakfast/coffee place. It was a nice open place with plenty of seating.  It looked like it used to be an auto shop.  They had 2 garage bays that they left, which gave it character.  In one dining area by the register they had a bunch of books,  almost like a library.   It had a pretty cool vibe. The lady who took my order was super nice and helpful.  I stuck to the order that I had already planned. I ordered: 1.  Cornbeef hash:   Nice chunks of Cornbeef and the potatoes were delicious 2.  Cowboy hash:  I loved the bbq brisket.  It was tender and chunky.  With the potatoes and eggs it was prefect. 3.  Loco moco:  This isn't the authentic kind it's just frozen hamburger patties.  I would recommend skipping this.   I did take the rice and egg and mixed it in with my brisket.   That was a bomb combo. 4.  Pancakes:  For a kids size this was huge.   It looked delicious. 5.  French toast:  2 slices of toast cut in half.  This was the perfect sampler with a side of bacon or sausage.    Perfect sized kids meal. Overall, it's a great place for breakfast.  I didn't take pictures but from the looks of pancake and French toast you can see that was where they shined.  Their main, forte is breakfast and they do it good.

I came here with my family of 4 (2 kids 16 & 9 y/o) on a Sunday morning around 11ish thinking it was a Hawaiian brunch spot. It was a packed house, but we were seated right away. This was an “inspired” by Hawaiian theme. The atmosphere is very lively and upbeat in an open and airy space. The hostess was amazing and provided great customer service. When it came to the food it fell short of our expectations. I ordered the Mochiko Chicken Plate Lunch, my son ordered the pancake, my daughter ordered French toast and my husband ordered The Classic w/ scrambled eggs. The French Toast and Pancake were good. The pancake was huge and (1) order was enough for my hungry growing boy. My husband didn’t enjoy his eggs, he said they were served cold. I’m not sure if his food was sitting on the counter for a while but he didn’t enjoy it. As for my Mochiko Chicken, it came with a cucumber kimchi and a side of rice. The chicken itself lacked flavor—just salt. Dipping it into the shoyu sauce made it overwhelmingly salty, and even pairing it with rice didn’t balance it out. The shoyu really needed a touch of sweetness to cut through the saltiness and bring some balance to the dish. Instead, with salty brined chicken, salty shoyu, and kimchi all on the same plate, the whole meal felt like it should’ve been called the Hypertension Special. The serving size for this plate is very small, it’s not “Hawaiian” size portion, more like an appetizer for us islanders, which is great considering the food profile of this dish. Overall customer service was amazing and atmosphere was great but food was not of great quality. Unfortunately, we would not be returning.

Visit 2: in my first review I mentioned I wouldn't be back. But, I did return. I'm glad I did! I ordered the same thing, magic shakas with 2 over medium eggs. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked and again, piled high! I sat on the other side of the restaurant and was served properly and professionally, restaurant style. So, I tipped. Visit 1: I ordered the magic shakas with two eggs over medium. This is the kind of place where you seat yourself and then they bring you a menu which you then take to the counter to order and pay and then they bring food to your table and then you bus your table yourself. Kind of a strange set up. I didn't, therefore, feel compelled to tip. My food was excellent and delicious and abundant. Food was piled so high on the plate and there was such little rim space on the plate food kept falling off onto the table. It was a good value for the price. The eggs were perfectly cooked. I noticed a hair. Had it actually been in my food I wouldn't have noticed of course. I reported it and they offered to remake it but I didn't have time so I just ate the areas far from it. I was not offered a refund. Seems a strange response, "thanks for letting us know!"

If you're in Tacoma and would like to have a good breakfast, lots of food for the price I recommend this place. Servers are friendly and food was delicious.

Although the inside of the restaurant was a little worn down, the food was absolutely amazing! I loved the potatoes mixed with vegetables so full of flavor. And I got the small pancake, and they have a different definition of small. That thing took up the entire plate! It was good, not sweet, but yummy. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend.

The restaurant's basic dining room opens up into a tiki paradise with unique decor and even features a waterfall. The small but cozy space includes a bar for additional seating. Customers rave about the delicious food, particularly the kalua pig and mac salad.
the best place for awesome & delicious food in Tacoma! and then there's the great service, lovely staff, and really cool tiki decor -- not to mention tasty cocktails with unique and fresh garnishes. they really go all out here to make everyone feel welcome and well-fed! I never miss going here whenever I'm in Tacoma.

This place is really a hidden gem. My husband and I went here for the first time a few weeks ago. We were seated almost immediately and given samplers of the meats to try. The food came out quickly and was fantastic. I highly recommend and will be going back very soon.

Tried this place after my Niece saw a TikTok review. When we arrived we were surprised to see it was a place we’d driven by a million times but never even noticed it. Because it was our first time there the waitress brought out a small sample of each meat they offered for everyone at the table and it was the perfect gesture as all of us need up ordering their large combo. The decor theme was so cute and interesting. With the background music it really felt like you were on a mini vacation. Service was great, food was perfectly flavored and this place is truly a hidden gem.

Such a fun experience. The service was amazing, so friendly and accommodating to whatever we had need for. Food was fresh and delicious. Cool place, convinced me to try something new, so I ordered the spicy tuna poke bowl/plate lol. I don’t care for seafood but whatever they did to that tuna, amazing (chef’s kiss)! Also, prices were a relief. The chef brought more things for us to try. I appreciated the way they took good care of us. They went above and beyond what normal services would offer. We’ll be back for drinks! (I’ve heard so many good things about their Hawaiian-themed drinks.) This place is a hidden gem.
A. C — Google review
Definitely agree with other reviewers: this restaurant is a hidden gem that should not be overlooked! From the moment we entered for a post-graduation lunch, the owner was gracious, responsive, kind and upbeat. We were treated to samples of the different proteins available, our graduate was given a beautiful lei, and we even received dessert samples, all offered at no charge. The dishes were fantastic and highly authentic, taking me back to my last visit to Maui with every bite. My wife stated of the mac salad was "this is my Hawaiian grandmother's recipe exactly!" and was almost in tears from the memories it evoked. The decor may seem a touch over-the-top to those more accustomed to IKEA-esque minimalist restaurant settings, but we found it charming, whimsical and engaging, stopping just shy of being distracting during mealtime conversations. All in all, a wonderful meal and experience that was only heightened by the lovely owner's efforts to make our special day even better. I highly recommend Da Tiki Hut and plan to return very soon!

Sam W — Google review
Food was okay, but the portions were EXTREMELY small. We ordered the Kalua pork and tiki chicken as “large” plates, and what we received looked more like kids’ portions. Spent over $50 and still left hungry. For the price, the value just isn’t there.

Excellent food selection, atmosphere, and incredibly friendly service. Fresh ingredients and very flavorful. Adding protein is inexpensive and the salad is premixed so you don't have to shake it 😉 If you're in a hurry I recommend calling ahead. Everything is meticulously crafted. I've had the Greek Salad the last 2 times and each time it was just as good as the last. Highly recommend. Had some froyo while I waited for my food 😁 Don't pass on this hidden gem

I've been coming here for years and the quality continues to exceed my expectations. How is that possible?! The owners are two of the most heart-centered, caring people I've had the blessing of knowing. They love their restaurant, community, food and service to others. If I could only eat at one place in Tacoma, it would be Melonseed deli. From my previous carnivore taste to my now vegetarian exploration, they offer it all. Highly recommend!! Plus the music is always on point - one can't help but feel relaxed and joyful in this space.

This restaurant has been a long time favorite of mine!! The quality of their food has always been top of the line and the owners are deeply kind and caring people. Supporting small businesses is so important and did I mention the food is divine! Hits the spot every time. Bonus for vegetarians- they have top of the line options. No need to worry about picking from 1-2 bland options.

If you haven’t been to this place you’re missing out! This place has extremely flavorful food and frozen yogurt. My daughter had an Italian slider and I had the Chicken Caesar salad and it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients taste fresh & they give fairly large portions of food so you will definitely be full and have some for later. You can tell they love what they do by how they treat every customer and willing to answer any questions or make suggestions. I will be back to try more food on their menu. If you’re in this area check it out. You won’t regret it.

How did I not know about this wonderful gem?! From the entrance, u can just feel the good energy from the employees. The food is AMAZING! (under statement!!) I got the chicken caesar salad & chicken caesar slider. Oooohmygaaawd it was sooooo 💣 💣 💯!! But wat was really impressive was that I saw everyone behind the counter & in the kitchen constantly wiping down counters and putting on or changing gloves. Even though they were concentrating on making orders, they had such an upbeat energy. The lady greeting everyone was very welcoming, even offering fro-yo samples!! I went there a lil bit before closing, but their energy was as if they just started their day. I can't say enough about this place! Go check it out for yourselves, yall can thank me later!! And you WILL love the whole experience!

Tatanka Take-Out is a popular spot in Tacoma known for its delicious homemade bison burgers and burritos. The bison meat used in their dishes is of good quality and the portions are generous. While it may be slightly pricier than other burger joints, the food's high quality justifies the cost. The owner is highly regarded for being friendly and considerate, embodying the essence of a good small business owner.
I tried a Bison burger for the first time, and it was absolutely juicy and delicious! 😍 The owner of the place is client-oriented, positive, and a very good person! ✨Place itself is clean and well maintained. The burger's high iron and protein content is a great bonus. I had it again on my way to Seattle from Olympic National Park🌲🍃, and it was still delicious! 🤤

Very unique restaurant offering Bison burger in a cozy setting. We come here a lot, the owner is super friendly and prepares the food from scratch which makes it juicy and fresh. Very good side of salad if you don’t want the potato wedges which are grilled on the griddle and also very good. Highly recommend.

Finally got to taste the famous bison burger. It did take a little longer than usual since there’s just one cook and I came right after the crowd of family came through which caused the delay. It was worth the wait! The burger was cooked to perfection, the homemade sauce wow! By far my favorite sauce. I told the cook he needs to sell that. I would buy it in a heartbeat. There are $.99 add ons for mushrooms and cheese. I had to get the bison burger with mushrooms and Swiss cheese also comes with shredded lettuce, tomato and onions. The house made fries was hot and fresh. Limited parking available, I believe 4-5 stalls then off street parking available. $22 overall great buy!

Our bison burgers were delicious--definitely homemade and good sized, made to order. The person working (possibly the owner) was very friendly and considerate. We would definitely eat here again!! Keep in mind, it's a bit pricier than some other burger joints, probably because of the bison meat. Two sandwiches and two bags of chips, no drinks, was around $30.

Legendz offers a variety of delicious food options, including burgers with melty cheese and excellent seasoning. The shakes are thick and rich in flavor, although the fruit flavor may be subtle. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making for a pleasant dining experience. While there may be a bit of a wait as the food is made fresh to order, the quality makes it worth it. In addition to burgers, they also serve an amazing Philly Cheese Steak and chicken basket.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Legendz = Next Level Awesome! Legendz absolutely blew me away! I used their drive-thru, and not only was it super fast and convenient, but the staff were also friendly and professional — they really make you feel welcome even from your car! I ordered a burger and fries, and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The burger was juicy, perfectly grilled, and packed with flavor, with a soft bun that held everything together beautifully. The toppings were fresh and balanced — just perfect. The fries were golden, crispy, and addictive, with just the right amount of salt. Everything came out hot and fresh, even through the drive-thru, which really impressed me. And let’s talk about the prices — super affordable for the quality and portion size. You get gourmet taste without the high-end price tag. If you’re looking for a quick but top-quality meal, Legendz is the way to go. I’m definitely coming back again and again! 🍔🚗🍟 Faris.

With a name like Legendz we had to try it, and we were not disappointed! Be prepared, this place is simplistic. Drive-thru only with canned sodas, it looks a bit rough on the outside, and honestly so is the neighborhood. They also had several discontinued items on the menu and their intercom was broken… however, all that being said, the crinkle cut fries were seasoned to perfection and some of the best I’ve had in a while, and the Philly cheesesteak was amazing! HUGE portion of meat, veggies and creamy cheese piled into a toasted, chewy bun that held up well without getting soggy at all. Portion size was honestly large enough that in the future I will likely split it with a friend. Really reasonable pricing for the amount of delicious food you get, so I can highly recommend that you try this place out! You won’t be disappointed. 🥰

Great service, great food. These guys are making the best cheesesteak on the west coast, amazing fries too, and for $13 I got both and a soda. Meal was big enough to split into two and got done perfect and quick. This place cannot be beat and the guys working are the best. Stay blessed!

Goofy Goose Burgers & Teriyaki is a well-established eatery in Tacoma that serves a variety of delicious dishes such as short ribs, chicken teriyaki, and classic American burgers. The fried rice is a popular choice among customers, who have praised its taste and the friendly service they received. While primarily offering take-out options, the restaurant's menu boasts an enticing selection of food. The "goofy goose" theme adds a charming touch to the dining experience.
Good Chinese food. Want to try the burgers next time. Highly recommend.

I'm really bummed. In the past, I've enjoyed the most delicious veggie hamburgers from Goofy Goose. Today, I decided to treat myself to lunch so I ordered online and picked up the food. The woman working the counter was friendly and handed me the order. When I got home and unwrapped my burger, I could see that it was pretty well burnt. I was hungry so I decided to go ahead with it but then noticed the patty was different than usual. I think it was a spicy black bean burger. It was awful. I ended up throwing the burger patty away and eating the remainder of the sandwich. The bun was harder than usual but at least the lettuce was fresh and crispy. My vanilla shake was good. I'm not one to leave bad reviews as I understand the implications on small businesses, but I believe they need to do better. This is a historical establishment in Tacoma, known for their burgers. I feel like I just threw my money in the garbage. ):

Cold items and hot items were packaged separately (and labeled with the correct names). They helped us carry everything out to our car. Feeling very grateful and I have a team of happy staff munching away on their lunches (with all positive reviews on their orders)! Thank you!

The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. We ordered general tso's chicken, yakisoba, teriyaki chicken, and a mushroom burger. All were very good! Especially the teriyaki chicken. We'll be coming back.

Allstar Burgers is a popular spot in Tacoma, known for its delicious Philly cheese steak sandwiches and mega burgers. Visitors have raved about the flavorful beef philly cheese sandwich and the chicken and mushroom Philly. The portions are generous, with some mentioning that they couldn't finish their mega burger. Despite a few isolated incidents of undercooked fries or overly breaded mushrooms, many customers have found the food to be satisfying and reasonably priced.
Unassuming site, absolutely terrific burgers, didn’t try a Philly steak. Craving the quality of an old fashion diner burger? All star got ya covered. We ordered the base burger a solid 1/5 patty, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and pink sauce, served on a soft yet durable bun. They use high quality meat that doesn’t cook down to nothing and tastes terrific! We got fries too, cooked to deep gold perfection, full of flavor, very crisp, and salted just right. Great hometown service. Want a top notch burger that doesn’t break the bank, hit up All Star.

I had a Philly Combo here, and it was great. Everyone was welcoming in when I walked in, and from order to receiving my food was very fast. One piece of feedback I will provide is, if you get a particularly juicy item, the juices will soak into the paper to go container, into the surface or clothing the box will rest on. This is easily fixed by providing some wax/baking paper under the sandwich to avoid said soaking issue. Other than that, the Philly and the fries were fresh and well seasoned.

I've going here since they first opened up when I was in high school. I'm so glad it's back opened. Great food, generous portions and great prices. My fave is there combo philly cheese steak. Yummy!

The inside might need a little pick me up, but the food was incredible. Great Philly cheesesteak and an awesome cheeseburger. The prices are also very good. Best food for the money I've had in a long time.

Perfect place when you're craving fast food but want to support local. Atmosphere is nothing special, a total hole in the wall kinda place, but the prices are beyond reasonable. The fries are definitely worth getting

The Philly cheesecake and fries were superb! The service was very friendly, helpful and quick. The atmosphere is nothing special, but don't let that dissuade you. The food and staff are excellent.

They are back open!! We love this place so much. They were closed for many months due to a weather related incident last winter. We're so happy they're back open. The food is amazing, portions are generous and the prices are incredible compared to other places. The staff is so nice and it's just such a great place to have in the community! Welcome back Allstar!!

In the past this place has been good but this time my sandwich was full of onions. There was almost no meat at all. The picture here shows just a quarter of the onions on the sandwich.

The Church Cantina is a newly opened bar on South Tacoma Way, known for its goth/horror vibe and Cuban-inspired menu. Run by chef Nicole de la Paz, the place offers a mix of Latin and Cuban flavors in their drinks and bites, including vegan options. The unique decor and vibrant energy make it a hidden gem in Tacoma, drawing visitors with its impressive selection of cocktails and surprising vegan dishes.
My friend had some pork quesadillas that looked delicious 😋 and must have been because he ate it all. It seemed if you needed to order something you had to go up to the bar. Really dark with a vampire 🦇 theamed decor.

Loved this place! The drinks are delicious and creative, the food is yummy, and the prices are very reasonable! The atmosphere is fun and eclectic, reminded me of a Halloween version of McMenamins. And the staff were super friendly. The game room had so many fun movie posters. Definitely a place I will be going back to.

Church Cantina is one of my regular haunts, although it’s two hours north of me. I sometimes make the drive up just for their specials! If they’re open during the haunted farmers market, a line forms before they open, and for good reason. This time I made the drive up just for their peaches and cream French toast, and to grab one of their new pint glasses! It’s cool seeing how much they’ve added since the last time I was here. This place is why I’ve barely tried any other restaurants in Tacoma, I already know where I’m eating! I’ve been coming here since 2023 and the service from every bartender has always been fantastic. The drinks are made fast, the food comes out quick, the vibes are chill. I have to try something different each time. When I drank, I tried a different cocktail each time and was never disappointed, go with the Baja Blast!

Such a cool place that has its own personality and delicious food. It’s not everyday you get to eat underneath a coffin and then play Skee Ball afterward. Plus they have a Photo Booth! I’ve been telling everyone they need to go!! Nachos are amazing and if you happen to catch the special of Fried Artichoke Po Boy it’s 10/10!
Devon L — Google review
This has to be the coolest place I've ever been to The atmosphere is unlike anything I've experienced unlike the usual sports bar or pub the decor is awesome so many different pieces horror film skulls and much more the food was amazing the best cheese steak sandwich can't wait to try the rest of the menu I'm not vegan but I'm guessing the dishes will be just as good as the rest of the options. The owner definitely made this place a one of a kind gem. Great service from both the owner and staff I was expecting my bill to be over a 100$ like most places but not here the price was definitely reasonable for everything. I highly recommend this place.
Mike L — Google review
Super cool atmosphere. Super yummy and quickly served food and drinks! AND super cool workers! Bartender was VERY quick to shoo off men who wouldn't take my obvious disinterest as enough reason to piss off and to assure me I could let him or anyone know if anyone was being obnoxious, which is always VERY appreciated as a woman out alone. Will absolutely be making the drive up again soon 🖤

My vegan roommate's favorite spot, and I like it too! The vegan nachos are his pick, and I got the chili coconut prawns. Good stuff. The fried pineapple really feels more like a dessert, it's kind of a girlscout cookie Samoa with a pineapple slice inside. They were great! Really enjoy this place and how it serves some pretty unique food you can't get anywhere else! Great decor too.

Burger Ranch is a quirky and charming burger joint that offers a variety of delicious treats. The staff is known for being friendly and helpful, even when dealing with difficult customers. Despite occasional shortages of certain items, the food quality remains consistently good. The menu features options like the mushroom burger, shakes in various flavors, cheesy garlic fries, cheeseburgers, ice cream cones, chili dogs, and Hawaiian burgers. The atmosphere exudes a kitschy vibe reminiscent of scenes from a Tarantino movie.
I can't say enough about a good burger place! I've been here a multitude of times, and never once have they ever failed me or my girl. Their food is awesome every time. One of the biggest benefits of this place is their staff: they are always happy! They always seem to have fun while they work. The burgers here are nice sized for the price. They have some smaller burgers and things for the lunchtime munchies, and some bigger ones for those of us (Myself included) who need a little more food in our meals. The fries are a perfect amount of crispy (My girls favorite) and soft ones (My fav). They have tons of menu items, so I am sure you'll find SOMETHING to suffice your inner fat kid. They even have ICE CREAM AND BAKED GOODS! (I know, right?!) And this place is a historic one for Tacoma. Been here for a loooong time. I highly, highly suggest a "Big Daddy" burger. Try these guys out. I'm sure they won't disappoint!
Myles M — Google review
Went this evening to Burger Ranch. Staff was friendly and helpful, we went towards the end of the night so they were out of a lot of stuff. However the girl working kindly told us before we started looking and that was super helpful and awesome. I’m assuming the food must be good because they are out and so far I’ve heard this is normal. 👍🏼 The food was pretty good! I got the mushroom burger, and it was really good! They have some awesome shakes!!! With quite a bit of flavors as well! We got the food to go because it was super cold in there. We will be going back.
Stephanie V — Google review
This place is okay. The milkshake was probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were the second best thing about the meal. Crispy, salty, and perfectly sauced with the house fry sauce. Was not too impressed with their burger however. Tried the big burger. Dried out patty with little flavor. The only thing flavoring this was the burger ranch sauce - a mayo based pickled relish sauce, practically thousand island dressing without the ketchup. It was good but they doused the burger with it to compensate for the dry burger. I would come back for fries and a milkshake, not the burger.
Justin A — Google review
They seem nice and brought my order out promptly. Place is clean. The fish wasn't the best. It really wasn't very good. It was very expensive. Shake was off. Lots of yelling. Try Jubilee across the street next time.
Aaron S — Google review
Wow with all these great reviews I expected so much more. The burgers are literally children’s burgers look at the size in my hands. Very dry very plain and the smallest patty I have seeing in a burger. I am from California looking for a good charbroiled burger in Tacoma or close to it. Washington apparently doesn’t have great burger places. Now I’m not comparing to in and out or chain burger places in California but looking for the old school charbroiled 1/4 lb burgers which are abundant in California. These burgers should not be considered adult food, they said they don’t put tomato in their burgers either. Very disappointed in this place it is a joke of a burger. Decent fries good onion rings small amount of onion rings but again I go for the hamburgers and they are just not a burger that has flavor or size enough to be called a hamburger.
Johnny C — Google review
I liked it. It felt like the kinda burger place thats so kitch and campy that it seems like it's a scene from a Tarantino movie wgen ordering. I double dog dare ya to order the milk shake. The Bonanza is great two. The Chili dog is good, and they have the Hawaiin burger. No Big Kahuna, but they do have the Big Daddy Burger. I Will be here again . The girl at the window was friendly, and charismatic, saying, safe trails.
Sidewayz F — Google review
My husband and I went for the first time and I was pretty disappointed. The milkshake was fine but by the time we got through the drive through our food was completely cold. I don't doubt the fries would have been excellent if warm. My husband thought his burger was pretty good even if it was cold. Overall, just ok. Fair warning, the wait was approximately 30 minutes for 3 cars to get served in the drive through and the dining area was closed.
Hannah S — Google review
Really disappointed, I get inflation and businesses are struggling but cutting the tenders in half and counting each half as a whole one for your chicken strip meals is pretty low. We loved coming and here and the food is good but deceitful places are not worth it to me.

McMenamins Pub at Elks Temple is a charming spot located in the historic Elks Temple Hotel in downtown Tacoma. The pub offers stunning views of the Puget Sound and boasts beautiful chandelier displays. It's not just a feast for the eyes, but also for your taste buds as they serve up a delectable Thanksgiving dinner with options like classic turkey plate, cider-glazed pork medallions, Alaskan cod, and even a holiday vegan plate.
Food was delicious. Atmosphere was phenomenal. Service was great. It was Easter brunch so they were a little backed up but I give some Grace as we were one of a lot of people there as well as other areas that they serve were also very full and ordering as well. My husband and I shared a full order of the brunch special Benedict which was a shrimp and crab cake with Hollandaise and it was so delightful. Custard French toast, berries and cream that was delightful. Fluffy, custardy and the fresh berries were slightly tart and sweet so they went perfectly. also had the cheddar jalapeno grits as our side and those were so good.

The food was quite bad today at lunch and I got to pay almost 100 bucks for flat soda pop, a bad Asian chicken salad with wilted greens and rubber chicken, a tolerable bowl of chowder, mediocre burger and a decent margarita. Our server was good but the host was completely checked out. My friend insisted on lunch here today...I hope I don't have to return soon.

This was our first time at Elks Temple and we wish we would have had more time. Great atmosphere, we had our pup so limited in what we wanted to do since we got there so late in the day. Beautiful place and so much to see as always at a Mcmenamins. We look forward to returning soon to enjoy the lodge and the shopping nearby.

Extremely fun experience! 4 floors of different themed bars with a secret speakeasy as well! My favorite bar is the old hangout tiki bar in the basement. When I say they FULLY leaned in to the theme, I was impressed. Drinks were delicious and strong, we got the hurricane and my favorite the pain killer, did I mention strong? After a small hint from our fantastic waitress, Rose at the tiki bar, we were able to find the speakeasy which was a swanky intimate venue with quite complex drinks. The Spanish bar for concert venues and the tavern bar with pool and games are also great choices! Be warned the prices are a bit high (about $17 or so for a drink) but it was worth it for a special experience!

Disappointed this time 10-10-2025. This is our 4th time. 1st time was amazing about a year ago 5* second time a month later was great we will call it a 5*, 4 months later it dropped to a solid 3 1/2 * was ignored at the tiki bar for 30 minutes went to the ball room ordered food salmon salad was great service was slow and had to get your own drinks..today I ordered the terminator steak well let me tell you it looked amazing, now the bad it was 3/8 inch thin, had to be 6oz about 4oz after I separated the bristle and fat, about 8 bites of steak. Substituted. Fries for salad it was about 6 bites of salad, wife ordered the blackened salmon this is always good until today after 5-6 bites.. ohhhh there is a hair go to pull it out and it lifted the salmon off the lettuce. OK we done check...my Birthday dinner.. ended at another restaurant. Changed to a 1* from my original 3* because the more I think about it the more upset I get that I even paid for the steak. The steak = $5 steak from Wilco and I could have made it better..

Hamburger restaurant
Out & About Burgers is a stationary food truck located on Meridian in Puyallup, offering a simple menu of shakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, and burgers. By keeping the menu simple, they are able to offer affordable prices for their customers. The second location also offers delicious burgers and other items like amazing onion rings and divine chocolate malt. Despite being busy on sunny afternoons, the service is excellent and the food is flavorful and appetizing at a good price.
A neat little place that we discovered after dropping our dog off at a kennel visiting some relatives in town. Did a quick search, and we were just a couple of blocks away. A tiny shack, sort of like an old fotomat, with about eight cars in line when we got there. There was a woman with a tablet right in front of us taking orders and collecting payment, and the line moved quickly for pickup. I'm not sure how anyone could do this less than five stars. We had burgers and fries and they were delicious. My only regret is that I didn't get a chocolate malt. Good thing we have to pick our dog up Saturday. I also have to add that the prices were phenomenal. I got a triple cheeseburger and it was excellent, and very well wrapped for eating in the car. Highly recommended!
Scott H — Google review
I would have gladly given five stars except they were so busy, as always I think they were rushing and not letting the oil come back up to temp between fries because my onion rings were soggy and full of grease and my sweet potato fries were under done but the burger was good. The bacon was fantastically crisp and I like their burger and tartar sauce a lot. The best part is nothing upset my stomach because sometimes trying new places does not go well for me. I also had a black raspberry milkshake that was the best shake I've ever had in my entire life. My husband also enjoyed his chocolate malt. I would definitely eat here again though.
Amy D — Google review
Out & About Burgers has great customer service but unfortunately the food lacks taste. The presentation is appealing but there is no trace of salt or pepper on the patties or onion rings. While Out & About imitates In-N-Out they do not come nowhere close to the burgers/ shakes served at In-N-Out. The milkshake was ok but nothing to rave about. I can not recommend the food unless you bring your own season condiments. You are better off going to an area which serves In-N-Out.
JHR — Google review
We got a double hamburger double cheeseburger, 2 fries and a fruity Pebble milkshake and diet pepsi. Everything was very, very tasty but the burgers were really small in our opinion. They give you a ton of fries which neither one of me or my cousin and I could finish. But it was all very good. A little spendy for a drive-thru but we will be back.
Ellie S — Google review
Very thin patties (thinner than any fast-food value menu burger), small portions, and just one thin slice of tomato. Definitely not worth $15. The onion rings were drenched in oil, and they don’t even serve Coca-Cola products. I would not recommend this place.
Jay H — Google review
Damn good burger joint. What I really loved the most is I didn't feel horrible after eating their food. I definitely recommend giving them a try if you are anywhere near the greater Seattle area it is worth the drive!!!
Joel P — Google review
Little drive thru with In n Out vibes. Probably the closest to the original that I've had around here. Food was good. Drive thru only makes it a little more difficult to relax and eat right away. The fries are way better than In n Out in my opinion! Definitely a must try!
Kevin S — Google review
Yum! This place is popular but the workers are prepared for that so you are not blocking the residential streets. I'm glad we're tried it out and would go back. Make sure your are prepared with your order before you arrive. They walk to your car while you are in the drive thru with a tablet and take your order and card payment. I believe you can pay with cash when you get to the window but it's easier with card because how busy they get.

The bar boasts unique cocktails and a curated wine selection that perfectly complements the original plates.
My husband and I went to Field and Bottle and were impressed by how creative and well thought out the restaurant was. It gives European cafe vibes while serving up incredible food and creative cocktails. We got a few small plates and the corn risotto with crab which I could not recommend more! The sourdough with ricotta and jam is something I would get everyday if I could. Overall we feel like Tacoma has been missing this type of restaurant. It’s great to see that they partner with local farms to bring this quality of food to the community. We are super excited to see what other creative dishes they come up with in the future.

I wish I could give ten stars! This bar is a one of a kind gem! It started as a bottle shop during Covid and was able to survive and finally open as a bar. The owner Brian makes this place so special. He is a fantastic mixologist and incredible knowledge about all of his wines. Now open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday so we had to check it out. Don’t Not Skip The Sourdough Bread With Blueberries and Ricotta!!! Better than any morning french toast you have ever had. You can come to this place and everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. Had a delightful night at Field Bar. Both of our servers were fun and kind, had great menu suggestions. We stood outside, enjoyed the spring feva, and got started while we waited for a table. The food was unbelievable! One of my all-time favorite PNW meals. While I haven't had the chance to sample the food yet, I've heard rave reviews about their menu offerings, which are said to be delightful.

We were there early on a Saturday evening. Only one, somewhat unpleasant, man working. Seemed annoyed that we wanted to order food. They were out of almost everything. We ended up just having him bring us whatever little bread ball things he had. They were tasty, but obviously frozen and only a few choices available. We left as soon as Devils Reef opened so we could get some actual food. The beer and cider selection was...OK. Also....the place looked closed when we got there and the door was hard to open. We almost left before we ever got in. With such a great location, this was a huge disappointment.

The Rusty Goat in Tacoma has become one of our favorite spots to unwind and enjoy a great selection of beers. Although I haven’t personally tried the food yet, I’ve heard the menu options are delicious, so I’m looking forward to sampling them soon. The owner is dedicated and serious about making his business a success, but he’s also friendly and engaging, making each visit enjoyable as he shares insights about the various brews on tap. The atmosphere at The Rusty Goat is one of a kind, with a cool record player adding a nostalgic touch and tables that are perfect for gatherings with friends. If I had one suggestion, it would be to update the old Christmas lights, as they could use an upgrade to better match the otherwise cozy ambiance. Despite this minor detail, The Rusty Goat is a great place to enjoy excellent beer and a welcoming environment. We always look forward to our visits and can’t wait to try the food next!

Where do I begin... first the signage was good. Good placement. Chose here over the devils reef. WRONG choice! The WORST bar I've EVER been to!!! The service was trash. The man taking our order was getting mad at us for placing an order. He was cursing at the other lady working. I kid you not... literally 19 people in that bar. I counted. He was complaining that they're behind on food, out of food, and behind in general. He had a piss poor attitude and made us "the customer" feel like we were inconveniencing him for placing an order. Like TF? You want us to buy stuff. They were out of mostly all of there Japanese bread things that they advertise everywhere. Like what? Waiting for about 15 mins in, beer gone He comes to our table of TWO and says I got good news and bad news. You ordered two pretzels but I only have one, I can replace it with something else. Ready to get outta there we agreed. Mind you I ordered a pretzel and sausage. He came back with my friends pretzel and I got a hotdog. I didn't even get my sausage that I paid for. He didn't offer a refund or anything. I literally was charged double the price for the actual item. The food was barely warm. The bathroom soap I think is watered down. He was complaining the WHOLE time. Like I don't know how this place has a 4.9. I was scammed and this place sucks!! Save your money and time and just go down the block to McMenamins. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I don't know why that poor girl is working there! Don't do it!!

Good selection of food when I was there. Nice cross section to choose from with interesting drink menu. Not a huge list of beers but that wasn't what I was there for.

By far the best burger I've ever eaten and worth every penny. Also very impressed with the other sides I tried - the grits were delicious and perfectly seasoned, the collard greens were flavorful and just the right texture. Though I'm not a gin fan I opted for one of the summery new cocktails, and was delighted - the flavors balanced perfectly to make a crisp, refreshing drink. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and happy to help me figure out what I could eat with my crazy array of allergies. Very happy customer!

Nothing new to report about Marrow, except to confirm what everyone else LOVES about this gem. It is a restaurant for people who adore food and cooking, because it's devoted to flawless execution, in every aspect. The atmosphere is just lovely enough, not distracting in either direction, inviting and warm, not fussy, and the staff is the perfect mixture of friendly and pro. The plates come out PERFECTLY one after another, so much that I felt like daring them to do it again way past the point that I could actually still eat. The deviled eggs raised the bar for me in a way that probably will have me ignoring any others I'm presented from here on. I'm a huge beet fan anyway, but I challenge anyone who thinks they aren't to try the pickled beet salad and maintain their position on beets. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the fried chicken (complete with grits, greens and gravy), and the pistachio cake was gorgeous. Not only will we be going back soon, we'll be asking for Corey, our server. He took such great care of us, he should have a cult following. You should eat here immediately before they find out how much better they are than any restaurant around, and double their prices (which would not deter me). Best meal I've had in the Seattle-Tacoma area since Rover's. Thank you everyone at Marrow, for a beautiful meal and evening.

We arrived early for our reservation, but they were still able to seat us. The place is a bit smaller than I'd imagined, but the food, the service, and the drinks were excellent. We had ordered a bartender's choice, and were pleasantly surprised by the result. We had the margherita flatbread as an appetizer, followed by Mac & Cheese and Steak for dinner with a cup of chocolate mousse for dessert. I never realized how much you could do with Mac & Cheese, but this was excellent. The texture and flavor of the steak was excellent, and so was the mousse. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area, and everyone outside of it too.

My wife, her parents, and I had an overnight in Seattle that included a show at the Paramount. During our stay, we ate dinner and breakfast at a couple "fine" dining establishments in Seattle. After being so underwhelmed by those two eating experiences we finished our time by driving from Seattle to Tacoma to eat at Marrow before returning home to Federal Way. Chef Matt and his team have set the bar very high and we knew that the trip to Tacoma would make all things right in the world. The best way to dine at Marrow is to share plates so you can try as many flavors as possible. There's not a bad dish on the menu. We shared a meat and cheese plate, the deviled eggs, the crab and artichoke pasta, the short ribs, and the fried chicken. I highly recommend the Old Fashioned and the Local 75 as accompanying beverages. Another great meal made and served by a great team! Thanks so much!!

A foodie heaven-filled restaurant that finally gives me a good reason to travel to Tacoma, Marrow has become my new favorite eatery in the city. While the restaurant looks like it was decorated from IKEA, the decor does not detract from the quick service, delicious food and friendly servers. Food is artfully displayed on each dish and the menus change seasonally. I had the Dungeness Crab Benedict which was perfectly cooked and topped with a mouth-watering tarragon hollandaise. I was also able to try the pumpkin pancakes with cheddar duck eggs which were amazing, and marked the only time I can remember pancakes still tasting great the following day. Although I was only able to try a few items from the brunch menu, I will definitely return for dinner.

I have traveled the world and this food matched the best food I have ever eaten. Wonderful service, lovely atmosphere.... could be a bit more comfortable seating etc. but you soon forget about it the moment the food arrives. Aesthetic, great food and great people... what more could you want going out for the evening?
