Seafood restaurant
Fine dining restaurant
Providence, located in Hollywood, is a top-notch dining destination known for its innovative seafood offerings and tranquil ambiance. The restaurant boasts a spacious high-ceiling dining room adorned with elegant white tablecloths and black wooden chairs, creating an upscale atmosphere. Renowned for its quality seafood, Providence offers cutting-edge signature and seasonal tasting menus for dinner, as well as a selection of hot and cold dishes for lunch. The restaurant's refined cuisine is complemented by an exceptional international wine list and impeccable service.
WOW OMG WOW OMG WOW OMG WOW !!! From the moment we entered this outstanding restaurant we were captivated by caring staff, zen like ambiance & some of the best food in the world. Superlatives would spring forth with every bite taken into each & every dish we consumed. We were truely amazed & full of gratitude. Having been fortunate over the decades to have eaten in some of the world’s best restaurants, this restaurant was a highly successful stand out of pure perfection on a plate, from preparation to presentation. Our celebratory evening with our son was a truely memorable event thanks to all the staff involved. We normally don’t take photos at restaurants but felt compelled on this occasion to capture the sensational attention to detail in every serving. Finally, to be invited back of house into the kitchen to meet with the head chef & legion of staff preparing our food & to be able to provide them first hand with the praise they richly deserve was also a privilege. . THANK YOU ALL FOR CREATING MEMORIES TO LAST A LIFETIME !!

I had a great dining experience at Providence. The seafood was amazing. They showcase the best of California. I enjoyed the abalone, scallop, spotted prawns, and mango dessert. The wine list is impressive. The electric margarita is delicious. Service is attentive.
Squirrel F — Google review
I came to Providence with very high hopes for an unforgettable dining experience, but honestly: “Quite ordinary.” Appetizers: Caviar and uni were disappointing and uninspired. Then salmon with cream, crispy bread, and black truffle – ingredients I expected to be more creative at a 3-star level, but instead felt very common. Sashimi & king crab: Nicely presented, but the sauce was overly salty and once again paired with caviar – repetitive and dull. Santa Barbara prawn & egg yolk with uni: Lacked impact, not memorable at all. Scallop with XO sauce: Finally, a highlight – flavorful and well executed. Abalone – nothing special, slightly salty Risotto with Italian white truffle: Overly rich and heavy, lacking finesse. Duck breast & king salmon: Average at best, nothing special. Desserts: The best part of the meal – especially the in-house chocolate, which was delicious. Overall, I was looking for something extraordinary from a Michelin 3-star restaurant, but what I got could easily be found in many non-Michelin places. Outdated ingredients, unimaginative execution, and little creativity. Don’t get me wrong – the food was good, but it was not remarkable in terms of ingredients or creativity. I give this restaurant 3 stars (just okay), not because the food wasn’t good, but because it was overhyped. Good food doesn’t necessarily come from the most expensive ingredients. True culinary artistry is about creating unforgettable flavors and experiences from even the simplest ingredients.

We recently dined at Providence in LA for a friend’s birthday, and it was truly an outstanding experience. The food was absolutely amazing — each dish was beautifully presented and delivered incredible flavors that exceeded our expectations. The level of creativity and attention to detail in every course was top notch. The staff and waiters were also exceptional: professional, attentive, and knowledgeable, which made the entire evening feel special and seamless. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Los Angeles. I would definitely go back and recommend Providence to anyone looking for a memorable fine dining experience.

Certainly one of the best restaurant experiences in Los Angeles. The food ambience , service , wine list is everything you'd expect for my Michelin three star restaurant. Bravo !

Came from Vancouver, BC to try their menu. It definitely deserves a 3-stars. The restaurant has a very relaxed and elegant atmosphere, the background music has the right volume and good album that improve your appetite. Staffs are very friendly and welcoming. Great items on the menu, every dish is a highlight. Great job!

It was great for the most part. Some of the dishes didnt hit right. The steak for all its hype was kind of a disappointment. I think a ribeye from mastros or novikov or even Ruth Chris is far more delicious without any exotic drunken cattle fondling.

So we visited again, our annual June dinner at Providence. It's nice that the automatic Yelp-sort defaults to your own past reviews; so I did a quick rereading of past write-ups. And there's no real change of how I feel about Providence. Our experience, like the menu, was different; though, there is no change in how I feel...I still LOVE them. This year, we brought another couple so when the call came to confirm our reservation and check for allergies/dietary restrictions (there were none), they also asked if we'd like the Chef's Table!!! Well, YES, absolutely! We had dined at the chef's table once before. And in the time in between, there was a remodel. The chef's table is a luxurious U-shaped booth: it seats two facing the kitchen, and one seat each side, with a fifth seating (a chair) with the back to the kitchen (so optimally, you'd want no more than 4, but a fifth seat is available should your party need it). After a quick review on OpenTable, my guess is that we were long-time diners (since 2010) and a party of four (instead of our usual two) that lead them to offer us the coveted table. Then came the cocktail and food menus. Carlos, who appears so serious and professional, is actually very charming and engaging. In fact, they ALL are; they all have this air of professionalism, astuteness, and graciousness, but they are all so extremely personable, each in their own way. Enoch, our other service professional, is mellow, sweet, funny and informative. Then there's Mr. Poto, famous for his congeniality (admittedly, I'm a fan), who has the best table-side manners anywhere. He comes by, welcomes us, shakes our hands, and everything feels right with the world (even though this administration just bombed Iran that evening.) New this year is that there are now TWO menus: a $325 Classic and a $450 Chef's Tasting. The difference is that for the Classic, you'll select your main (usu salmon, duck or A5 wagyu); with the Chef's Tasting, you get all three. Knowing our appetites, we all elected to do the Classic (the men ordered duck; my sister and I chose salmon) and added a couple of their sinfully delicious and artfully beautiful uni egg. (The only reason we did not select A5 wagyu is that we all visited Japan this year, where we had wagyu. Also, Providence being a seafood restaurant, it only made sense for us to stick with seafood [duck, while poultry, is kinda seafood adjacent].) The thing about Providence that I - who spent half my pre-adult life in Japan - absolutely love is the Japanese aesthetic, through and through. Their logo is evocative of the Zen/Japanese enso/circle. Their approach to seafood is of a thoughtful, masterful craftsman, continuously working toward improvement or kaizen. The flavours are deliciously understated. Everything is just enough, nothing is heavy handed or 'extra'. Both the food and the flavours are delicate, ephemeral and harmonious. Their service speaks to 'omotenashi'. For anyone who's been to and raves about Japanese service, omotenashi is that underlying trait...with an Italian flair (a nod to Mr. Poto's warmth). The evening went by extremely smoothly and far too quickly; a three hour dinner sounds long, but our evening went by in a flash. The first-timer in our group was wowed by the evening. He was in amazement with the 'inexplicably delicious' food, the mindful service, and being able to see a busy kitchen working so smoothly. I had to apologise to him that this experience will ruin him to all others, because nothing will compare. And huge appreciation to Chef Michael Cimarusti for acknowledging us in person. My apologies that you had to chase us down during a busy kitchen service, but I'm extremely grateful you caught us at the front door. It was an exceptional, memorable dining experience and we look forward to visiting again for many years to come. Congratulations on your 20 years and your third Michelin star!

Kaiseki restaurant

Japanese restaurant
Restaurant
n/naka offers an upscale Japanese dining experience with chef Niki Nakayama at the helm. This modern restaurant provides a 13-course modern kaiseki meal, showcasing seasonal ingredients, including organic vegetables from its own garden. Known for its feature on Netflix's "Chef's Table," n/naka is a sought-after dining spot in Los Angeles.
n/naka is simply stunning from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and lead to our table. The space itself is gorgeous. The service is warm, friendly and approachable - never stuffy or stiff as some might expect of a 2 star Michelin restaurant. The menu is an exquisite journey - each course a work of art that builds on itself. The tasting menu changes 5 times a year. The highlights during our meal were the lobster croquette and the pasta with fish roe, abalone and truffles. Everything was incredible, but these 2 dishes were decadent and delicious. The meal is an experience to remember. There are those meals that stay with you for your lifetime, and Chef Niki has meticulously created that for diners here.
Shaun Y — Google review
One of the best meals I have ever had. Chef Nakayama has definitely proven that she is more than worthy of her Michelin star status. The chef’s meal was 13 courses that were carefully prepared and served in a specific order so that each dish could be enjoyed to its fullest. I also got to enjoy the wine and sake pairings which showcase some amazing sakes that were imported from Japan and went extremely well with the dishes that were served. If you are a fan of Japanese food or just amazing food in general, I would highly recommend this restaurant this is definitely one for the bucket list.
Matthew I — Google review
It was simply an unforgettable evening. The food was indescribably delicious. So much attention to detail, so tasty and diverse. Simply brilliant. And the staff was so kind and incredibly attentive. World-class. And the wine pairing and the selected Sakes were fantastic. It was a great honor and joy for us to dine there and have such an unforgettable evening. 20 of 5 Stars!!!

N/Naka is one of the finest Japanese restaurant in California, and this Michelin starred restaurant by chef Niki Nakayama offers an incredible 13 course kaiseki menu that seamlessly blends classical Japanese flavors and techniques with California cuisine and ingredients. Dishes here are elegant and expertly prepared, showcasing different temperatures and textures (equally balanced between cooked and cold dishes). We especially liked the dashi broths which were rich with umami. Highlights include the A5 wagyu, crab in its shell, selection of sashimi and the beautiful pickled starter dishes. Staff here are wonderful and sincere and make the dining experience special and memorable. The newly renovated interior also offers a quiet and intimate setting. Reservations at N/Naka are next to impossible (they open up on a rolling basis every Sunday on Tock), and a fair amount of dedication and perseverance will be required to dine here. It is IMO worth the hype and the effort and is nothing short of extraordinary. It was also a delight to meet chef Niki at the end, who was extremely friendly and gracious.
Andrew L — Google review
Had an unbelievable experience here at Nnaka with my mom for her 65th birthday. It included a 13 course meal with some bonus dishes. Each dish was meticulously made and incredibly delicious. Imports ingredients from around the world made the dishes seem that much more special. At $365/person, it was a little under a $1k for 2 people including tax and tip, but well worth the EXPERIENCE. The chefs greeted us at the end of the meal and we left knowing we had the best meals of our lives. I've been to many other Michelin star restaurants and this was on another level. They really deserve to have their 2nd star back. Please give it back to them.
Michael K — Google review
My dining experience at n/naka was nothing short of extraordinary. Chef Niki Nakayama and her team delivered an unforgettable kaiseki meal, paired with impeccable service. Each dish was a masterpiece—unique, artfully presented, and bursting with an explosion of flavors. The interplay of salty and sweet, hot and cold, soft and dense, umami and bright acidity created a perfect harmony that delighted the palate. From the first course to the last, every bite was a revelation, showcasing incredible creativity and precision. The waitstaff elevated the evening further with their exceptional knowledge of the menu, guiding us through each course with warmth and expertise. Securing a reservation was no small feat, but the effort was undeniably worth it for a dining experience that will stay with us forever. n/naka is a true gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone seeking a once-in-a-lifetime culinary journey.

Excellent food and service. Thank you, John, our server. Much better than Kato in creativity, taste, and overall experience.
Keith L — Google review
We came for our 9th wedding anniversary and I am already wanting to plan another trip. We first heard of Chef Nikki and n/naka years ago when my wife and I were still just dating in school and watching the first season of Chef's Table on Netflix. It was the first episode we put on and we fell in love with what she stood for and the work she put in. Years later, she still shines, and her drive and the art in her work are just as described. We felt like honored guests and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel valued and who enjoys good food. She changes her menu around, so you'll have to see for yourself, but it was a beautifully crafted kaiseki. Thank you for a wonderful night!

Taiwanese restaurant
Restaurant
Kato Restaurant is a hidden gem nestled in the vibrant Arts District of Los Angeles, offering an unforgettable omakase-style dining experience. Since its relocation to ROW DTLA in 2021, this Michelin-starred establishment has been captivating diners with its unique Taiwanese-inspired tasting menu crafted by chef Jon Yao. The ambiance may be simple, but the culinary artistry shines through each meticulously prepared dish.
I usually don't get distracted by service when evaluating food quality. I'm more on the tip that feels food should be able to stand for itself in a vacuum. At times I feel that service can overcompensate for or overpower a dining experience. However I have to say, the service at Kato was particularly warm and genuine. Food wise, Kato is easily a new favorite restaurant. Familiar flavors in new forms and with exciting combinations and sophisticated restraint. On a more practical note, I can't recommend the additional menu options more as well as the non-alcoholic pairing. Lastly there is an 18% fair wage and operational fee already added to the bill.
Jessica J — Google review
Had an incredible meal here! We sat at the bar and our waiters were so friendly and helpful in answering our questions about the food. I appreciated the dedication to sourcing ingredients from China and Taiwan. Each dish was delicious and creative. Definitely worth the price if you’re into fine dining!

Fantastic restaurant. My favorite part of the experience was the service—everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. If you come here, you’ve got to try the cocktails; each one we had was thoughtfully crafted. The food was creative and flavorful, and created with high-quality ingredients. The decor is minimalistic and elegant, creating an intimate atmosphere. It’s one of those rare places where you can actually enjoy a conversation without raising your voice. Overall, Kato is the perfect spot for a special occasion or a quiet, elevated night out. I can’t wait to come back.
Gray S — Google review
Kato by Jon Yao draws on his Taiwanese heritage and upbringing in the San Gabriel Valley to present a tasting menu that is both deeply personal and elegantly modern. The cuisine is rooted in Taiwanese flavors, reinterpreted through the lens of California’s seasonal ingredients and subtle technique. Many of the dishes carry a sense of nostalgia, inspired by Yao’s childhood memories, and each course feels delicate, precise, and intentional. The dining room reflects this balance of refinement and warmth. The modern, industrial-chic space—think wood, concrete, and clean lines—centers around a large open kitchen, where the Kato team works with calm focus and quiet artistry. It’s a space that feels simultaneously intimate and ambitious. At the front of house, General Manager Nikki Reginaldi is a standout presence, bringing genuine warmth, enthusiasm, and poise to every service. The broader team mirrors her professionalism: attentive, polished, and deeply engaged, clearly underscoring Kato’s pursuit of greater excellence and recognition. Guests should note that service pacing is intentionally unhurried and services runs approximately 2.5 to 3 hours for the full experience. The tasting menu sits at the upper end of the fine-dining spectrum ($325 per person), and an 18% operating charge is automatically added to each bill. For those seeking an elegant, meticulously executed dining experience in the ROW DTLA area, Kato stands among the city’s finest. Reservations are essential given its limited seating and consistent demand — but for a meal that thoughtfully bridges cultural roots and contemporary craft, it’s well worth the effort.
Andrew L — Google review
We celebrated our 5-year anniversary at Kato, and it couldn’t have been more special. From start to finish, the food was absolutely top-notch — every bite delivered a stunning explosion of flavors. Two standout dishes for us were the delicate crab “soup” and the perfectly prepared lamb — both were unforgettable. The winemakers took the time to walk us through each selection, which added a personal and thoughtful touch to the experience. Service was warm, attentive, and seamless throughout the evening. We also loved the open kitchen concept — it’s a treat to witness such craftsmanship up close. The only minor downside was the temperature in the dining room, which was on the chilly side. Just a heads-up to bring a light layer! Overall, an incredible culinary journey — refined, creative, and truly celebratory. Thank you, Kato, for making our anniversary night so memorable.
Chiara G — Google review
The 4 of us visited Kato at its old location. We heard so much about Chef Jonathan and the creative Taiwanese fusion dish. We will visit the new restaurant, the atmosphere of the old place was not that great. We were seated outside by the parking lot. It was past Covid, so service was definitely lacking at the time.
Carl W — Google review
The only bad thing about dining here is the inability to answer the question from my wife "which one was your favorite dish?" Every aspect of the restaurant was simply perfect. Each dish was a perfect combination of nostalgia and creativity. One of the best restaurants I have ever visited. Thank you Chef Yao for bringing the Taiwanese flavors to great heights. 🇹🇼
Dandrich L — Google review
The LA Times ranked this restaurant as number one. A while ago, I saw lots of people recommending it on Reddit, so I booked it for my recent birthday. The describe themselves as Taiwanese-French restaurant, but aside from the menu being in pinyin, I really couldn’t see anything Taiwanese about it. We added youtiao (pic 4), which tasted like deep-fried rice balls. The worst dish was probably the chawanmushi: caviar + crab meat + steamed egg, then mixed with vinegar—so sour and salty. Later on, they even served quail. Supermarket quail costs $2 each, yet it showed up at a restaurant charging $400 per person. We ordered the non-alcoholic pairing, which was absolutely terrible—juices mixed with random vegetables and teas made from fruit peels. Basically every drink was one sip and done. Summary: A total disaster, the food was awful! Strongly NOT recommended!

Maude, a high-end New American restaurant in Beverly Hills, offers a seasonally inspired tasting menu that changes monthly. The Michelin-starred eatery is known for its ingredient-driven concept and currently features seasonal menus curated by chef de cuisine Osiel Gastelum, drawing from his Mexican roots. Every quarter, chef Curtis Stone creates a new set menu inspired by four different wine regions across the globe.
I was visiting here last summer, and I think they provide top tier services and foods for me. It’s one of my favorites restaurant. The food is very delicate and delicious. And the flavor is balanced, i remember the taste until now. The quail here is I feel most tender meat until now. And the presentation is great to see how chief to make these beautiful dishes. Hopefully I can get another chance to have it again.
Austin W — Google review
We loved our Maude experience. The dishes were so well presented, flavorful, interesting and ultimately filling. The small format boutique setting was wonderful and we felt we had all the attention in the world, yes didn’t feel smothered. The surprise for dessert was a great twist and perfect way to wrap the evening.
Frank F — Google review
Very creative menus, and a great progression among the courses. We for sure experienced several new flavors. Dishes were technical yet approached and plating was beautiful. We tried the reserve wine pairing which complemented the dishes perfectly. The space is beautiful and cozy and the staff makes the experience very warm and comfortable.
Azadeh N — Google review
We like to try Michelin Starred restaurants when we’re on vacation and this was our favorite place, so far. We were pleasantly surprised with every tasting and some dishes really knocked it out of the park. I would describe each dish but it’s a changing menu so it wouldn’t be helpful here. I can say that every dish was prepared perfectly, delicately flavorful over the top and most of all delicious. The staff worked together as a team, serving our dishes in sync; they were very informative and expertly described each dish as it was served. I’ve been a fan of Curtis’s for a very long time and he just happened to be there enjoying a meal with his family, which was very exciting for me. I wanted so badly to act like a tourist & fan & ask for his autograph, but it seemed like it wasn’t the right thing to do, at the time, so I respectfully let them have their meal in peace. I’ve seen his current works on PBS; Field Trip With Relish. He has a special gift of portraying the wonderful feelings of traveling and discovering the local foods in whatever region he’s visiting. I felt that way eating at his restaurant, like being transported through food, to this region. I’d love to be at one of those dinners, Ooh La La! Thank you Curtis for all your creations…We ❤️ Maude. THE BEST EVER❣️

Amazing experience! The food was super fresh and some ingredients were directly plucked from the flower in front of me. The pigeon was to die for and the abalone was the best abalone I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. For dessert you go to a different room which had a very different ambience. Loved the creativity of all the different foods. Would definitely come again to try out another tasting menu in the future!

Expectations were high for Maude and I have to say they delivered in pretty much every way that counted. If I'm going to nitpick, restaurant is small, lighting darker than I'd like but the main reason you're here, the food, it was mostly excellent. Across as many courses as there were, naturally there will be favorites and some less so but quality of ingredients, attention to detail with the presentation and how the dishes were put together, all top notch. Please do your due diligence, this is a Michelin starred fine dining establishment and the pricing is in line with similar restaurants. The meal, not counting dessert is 9 courses and if you're worried you may be left wanting for more at the end like I did, I assure you that you'll be more than satisfied by the time the last dessert is served, yes, I said last, there is more than one dessert course. Overall I would highly recommend going. Plan in advance, reservations can be weeks out if not longer. Enjoy the pictures.

Outstanding fine dining in a laid back setting. The food quality and chef's technique are top tier. The staff is very attentive and friendly, it feels like a less formal version of the French Laundry. The atmosphere is intimate and well done.

Maude offers a fantastic dining experience that celebrates different concepts, depending on when you go. I've been twice now and both times were magical in their own way. The latest time was celebrating the region of Champagne and was a paired even with Bollinger. Everything was beautiful, delicious and we left talking about our favorite dishes. It's not cheap, but worth every penny!

Spago, the renowned bistro by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, is a vibrant hub for those seeking innovative Californian cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant's history is as captivating as its menu; it famously birthed the legendary smoked salmon pizza when Puck creatively substituted pizza crust for brioche at the request of actress Joan Collins.
Make reservations! The high quality ingredients are worth experiencing. I like how disciplined the dishes are: nothing is over seasoned, flavors just exist on the palate with minimal effort, ingredients speak for themselves. Can feel a bit crammed, loud, difficult to navigate through the tightly space tables, but as a result the energy and the enthusiasm is elevated throughout the restaurant. I DO NOT recommend the salmon pizza. It will make you super full so only order this signature dish, if you are going multiple times, sharing, or are ok with taking food home.

Came to this absolute classic and we were treated very well by our servers - the only reason they lost marks was that it was a little slow between bouts of attention. Food was good, not great, but the asparagus soup was incredible. The atmosphere felt a little fusty, old and low energy - but we did go on a Wednesday. Glad we ticked it off the list

We love fine dining. We had a wonderful dining experience and the staff was fantastic. Possibly the best tomato soup we ever had!!We will definitely return when visiting Beverly Hills.

2nd city of 3 cities in a row, I find myself in Beverly Hills again, and instead of eating hotel food, I decided to finally treat myself to Spago. Matt the maitre d' was wonderful greeting me, as I arrived a bit early, before opening. This was a great thing, as I got a glimpse of the man himself in the huddle as I sat at the bar! I didn't capture him in my pic. He walked through after I took it. The setting was relaxing and contemporary, with garden seating off the bar area and an enclosed area in the back. I sat in the open garden area as it was a lovely evening. The service was better than exceptional. 12/10 stars. Every server took care of every table, leaving no one passed by. Outstanding! The meal started with a chef's canapé of gruyere cheese mix in a choux served on a ceramic stump. One pop of absolute pleasure! I ordered the Jindori chicken and am so glad I went there instead of the gnocchi as I just wanted to jump into the potato puree and au jus and swim like Ann Margaret did in the beans in the movie Tommy! The crispy skin contrasting with the juicy chicken paired with the wild mushrooms... just WOW! I couldn't stop eating! Even though I was pretty full, I still couldn't pass up the Basque cheesecake. It was so soft and creamy in the middle you could schmere it! And you could see the millions of pure vanilla beans in the cream!! Yum! Topped with berries and whipped cream, this and a cappuccino were a perfect ending to my meal. Thanks to all the staff for a memorable meal and evening.

How much is still water? I learned a life lesson last night at Spago. This was my first time at Spago and the food was really quite good. We ordered a couple appetizers, our main courses and three desserts. The desserts were all excellent. So why the 3 stars? Well, that is where the life lesson comes in. We sat down and someone asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We ordered still and they brought a bottle of Acqua Panna. Now this is not some obscure Austrian bottled water. This seems to be the new standard water at So Cal restaurants. However, unlike other restaurants I have been to Spago, has decided to charge $12 a bottle. Maybe after we ordered the third bottle someone might have offered they had tap water. But nope we ordered 5 bottles and were charged $70 for them. I mentioned to the waiter at the end that my daughter was irritated by the price of the bottles and he laughed it off. I was also irritated but felt that is what I got for not asking about the price but I brought it up to the waiter for him to know $12 is a ridiculous price to pay for water. He still charged us the $70 which was 12% of our total bill. The water, in total, was our second most expensive item on our bill. Back to the life lesson I learned, which is to always ask for tap water. I just figured it might be $6 per bottle but nope I guess that is how they pay their rent by charging as much for a bottle of water as a bottle of beer. I hope they train their staff to include tap water as a water option. Would I recommend Spago to a friend? Sure, but I will definitely warn them to not order the still or sparkling water. As Joey Swoll might say, Spago do better!

The service was incredible. Wine and water were topped up without asking, service was discreet but efficient. Courses were timely and food was great. We sat on the patio, which was a decent size, but felt intimate. Decor was lovely. Allowed corkage, so the wine was fantastic ;) Stafford was accommodating when we had someone join for dessert - they just rolled with it to make room despite the restaurant being busy.

This location is an absolute gem and deserves high praise! From incredible service—thank you to Jonathon and the reception desk—to incredible food, we were pampered throughout the evening. That lox pizza and gem salad were wonderful starters! And that decadently rich gnocchi was beyond! (No regrets!) We followed with the lightly light and flavorful branzino, we were happy and full! (Somehow we also indulged in a little slice of creamy cheesecake.) Such a special place, with many celebrating blessings in their lives. Truly looking forward to returning soon. Thank you, all!

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Bestia is a popular Italian restaurant in the industrial Arts District known for its creative seasonal fare. The husband-and-wife team behind the restaurant, chef Ori Menashe and pastry chef Genevieve Gergis, have curated a menu that offers a meat-forward multi-regional tour through Italy. Dishes include Neapolitan-style pizzas, tantalizing pasta options like fermented sweet potato ravioli and squid ink chitarra with poached lobster, and house-cured salumi.
Absolutely obsessed with Bestia. The flavors, the sauces, the creativity…everything was on another level. Every dish felt perfectly balanced and memorable. We had the endive salad, bone marrow, grilled octopus, fig leaf ricotta tortellini, and the black ink spaghetti. Each one was a standout in its own way. The pastas in particular were phenomenal, with rich sauces that made you want to savor every bite. The ambiance is lively and stylish without feeling pretentious, and service was attentive and friendly. Truly one of the best dining experiences in LA and I’d come back again and again.

Great experience, wonderful food. The standouts were definitely the scallop crudo and the lamb neck. Sauce on the gnocchi could’ve been a bit more flavorful and the pluot crostada needed a bit more fruit for the amount of crust but really we’re nitpicking here. Service was lovely.
Chelsea D — Google review
Bestia delivers an unforgettable Italian dining experience in an industrial-chic setting. Our meal was a masterclass in execution and flavor, beginning with the stunning Scallops Crudo, which was impeccably fresh and bright, paired perfectly with the savory, tangy Marinated Olives. The pasta course was the true highlight: the dramatic Ink Squid Spaghetti with Lobster offered intense seafood depth, while the Cream Sauce Pasta with Truffle was pure, aromatic indulgence, generously shaved with fresh black truffle. For the main event, the Lamb Neck was a triumph of slow cooking- fall-off-the-bone tender with a robust, charred crust. Every dish demonstrated a commitment to high-quality ingredients and flawless technique. Bestia remains essential dining for a truly exceptional meal in Los Angeles.

Place is really loud so it's a bit difficult to catch up. Burrata tomato salad - 3.75 stars Branzino - 4 stars Good crisp skin, tender flesh. Corn agnolotti pasta - 3.75 stars Texture is great and I liked the corn filling (like a corn soup) but the filling was on the sweet side. Tagliatelle with sage, black pepper, Parmiggiano - 3.5 stars There was a drizzle of honey on it - I personally prefer my savoury food not sweet. Otherwise pretty good flavours. Was expecting a bit more richness like a cacio e Pepe. Tagliatelle was thin with a bit of a bite. Nduja pizza - 3.75 stars Decent pillowy crust - could be a bit more flavourful

I can see why this is one of LA's best restaurants! When you walk in you can feel the energy and excitement that comes from a great restaurant. This is the spot to be! Amazing Italian food with a flare. The bone marrow is a must! The steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and juicy. Make sure to save room for dessert too!
Danny N — Google review
Amazing food, great service, atmosphere is more family style than fancy restaurant. Appetizers are amazing. We had the scallop ctudo, duck pate and veal tartar. All excellent. We had the chestnut pasta, awesome. For main course we had the lamb neck. It was very good but because it comes with lettuce and caesars dressing we felt like we finished with a salad. That was the only negative. We will definitely return.

Bestia can get crowded so make a reservation. This is fine dinning Italian and it is great. It is in a nice location. Parking is a bear unless you valet, so do that. The inside is just beautiful. It has a full bar and the wine list is amazing. The service is great. They take good care of you and know their menu well. They check on you, but never rush you. You will want for nothing here. The prices are high, but that is the way it is here in LA. They are comparable to other fine dinning places. The food is remarkable and we love everything there. You just can't go wrong. Their 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye with burnt onion, fermented mushroom cream and radish and poppy seeds is the best. Now this is about 185 dollars, but you will not be able to eat all of that. Take the rest home. The dogs will be in heaven. We also love their pizza. My husband always gets that. All are great. His favorite is the Burrata pizza which has the best San Marzano tomatoes, castelvetrano olives, oregano, with some fermented chilies. Everything is great there, even their salads and they have wonderful desserts. Go there for a special occasion or just go there. You will be happy.

We went for an early dinner on Thursday. The place was incredibly crowded—to the point where it was hard to hold a conversation—but we were lucky to get a table outside. It became clear to me why this restaurant has maintained its popularity for such a long time. The menu was creative, the execution was outstanding—from the precise doneness of the meat to the perfectly balanced salad dressing. The plating was thoughtful, and the service was quick and efficient. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes.

New American restaurant
Restaurant
Mélisse Restaurant, led by Chef-Owner Josiah Citrin, has been a staple of the fine dining scene since 1999. This chic French-New American restaurant offers season-driven prix fixe menus and is renowned for its excellence in every aspect of the dining experience. The restaurant's commitment to using locally sourced ingredients from farmer's markets and its innovative approach to seasonal menus have earned it numerous accolades.
Melisse is an intimate fine-dining restaurant located within Citrin restaurant. The 14 seat dining room is intimate and comfortable and the team services up sophisticated French-inspired dishes. The multi-course tasting menu places an emphasis on seasonal ingredients and refined culinary techniques and dishes are delicate and refreshing. Favorites include the signature "golden chicken" and Hokkaido scallops. Service here is extremely attentive and friendly and staff frequently check-in to address any needs. It was also a treat to see Joshua himself come by the table to introduce himself. Reservations are highly recommended as seating is limited. Note that while the cost is on the higher side of tasting experiences ($399/person), both the quality of the cooking and the elevated service justifies the premium. A special gem to visit if in the Santa Monica area!

One of the most disappointing Michelin dining experiences I’ve had worldwide. After booking a month in advance, the restaurant canceled my reservation without consent but still charged the full amount. Communication was poor throughout. The dining space was cramped, poorly lit with harsh white lighting, and the decor felt cheap — far below Michelin standards. One course was even served with mismatched, stained chopsticks. Food was equally disappointing: nearly every dish featured overpowering sour foam, masking the ingredients’ flavors. Even after requesting adjustments, the taste remained unpleasant. The only enjoyable part was the fresh fruit and the birthday cake I brought myself.Melisse does not live up to its two-star rating.
Liming D — Google review
I have eaten at Melisse twice and both times were absolutely incredible. The staff are fabulous and attentive from the time of setting up the evening through the end of the meal. They are willing to make the evening special and attend to any needs you may have. The food is superb: flawless execution and well balanced flavors. Every bite is meticulously planned and explained by the staff. I even noted to my guest that I’m often disappointed in desserts at high-end restaurants in comparison to the savory courses, but that was not the case at Melisse. Here, the dessert delivers on the same level as the savory courses as an equal: elevated and elegant without being so overly complex or reaching to lose the sweet punch expected in a dessert. The finishing touch of the night was being sent away with a copy of the menu as you specifically experienced it (down to the supplements you selected) for both food and wine complete with the date you dined in an elegant envelope as a keepsake. I have dined at many 3-Star restaurants, and very few have done this: I love that Melisse includes this as a part of its standard practice; it’s a very special touch.
Daniel M — Google review
Melissa is everything you hope for and more from a two Michelin star experience in Los Angeles. From the moment you walk into the intimate five table dining room, the evening feels special. The ambiance is understated and elegant, the service is warm and deeply knowledgeable without ever being overbearing, and the meal unfolds like a beautifully choreographed performance with every course more thoughtful and precise than the last. The menu is a masterclass in balance, technique, and flavor. The Miyazaki wagyu first bite set the tone for the night, rich and perfectly marbled with layers of umami that lingered beautifully. The Croque Madame with truffle Gruyère fondue was indulgent yet refined, while the Caesar with smoked anchovy and parmesan was a clever and deeply flavorful reimagining of a classic. The golden tomato soup, paired with pistachio and strawberry sorbet and finished with Portuguese olive oil, was as vibrant and nuanced as summer in a bowl. The progression of dishes shows a real depth of technical execution, from the delicate Santa Barbara spot prawn with umeboshi custard to the luxurious ossetra caviar course, every element was perfectly cooked, balanced, and plated with intention. The Wolfe Ranch “Dirty” quail was a standout, juicy and bold with apricot carrot curry and black olive caramel creating layers of unexpected harmony. The quail and lobster tortellini in carrot brodo was a study in finesse, and the lamb course and seasonal desserts struck the perfect chord between creativity and comfort. What truly elevates the experience is the service. The waitstaff were impeccable, warm, intuitive, and eager to share the stories and techniques behind each dish, which added another layer of appreciation to an already remarkable meal. Melissa is the kind of restaurant that makes an evening feel unforgettable. Highly recommended for a special occasion or simply to experience one of Los Angeles’ most accomplished kitchens at the very top of its game.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary here. And though my wife doesn't eat any raw (uni) or rare (tartar) she sampled them. Haha. But I loved them! We did not have the wine pairing for each course, which was another $250/pp, but we each enjoyed a glass of fine wine which our sommelier recommended to us. Perfect. Book your reservation a month in advance, epecially for a Friday or weekend evening dining experience. Expect 2-2.5 hours. My only gripe is that when Chef Josiah Citrin finally came out to greet the small room of guests, he only greeted 2 tables and ignored the rest of us. Geez. After you pay nearly $1000 for dinner, you don't even get a thank you from the Head Chef.
Henry T — Google review
...wow...so many amazing dishes served with care and amazing flavors! The wine pairing was expensive, but worth it. Same for the truffle addition. We loved the intimate environment and kind staff. The "hidden door", was fun! The whole thing was worth going at least once!

We’ve had a lot of special occasion meals but this one is far and away the best we’ve had. From even before you get to the restaurant, the service is on a whole other level. We celebrated our wedding weekend with a meal here and the staff took such amazing care of us, they made it a meal I’ll remember forever. The menu changes with the season, but you will absolutely be blown away by almost every bite. The chicken main course dish was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Save this place for a truly special night.

Restaurant
Felix Trattoria, located in Venice, is a pasta lover's paradise created by chef Evan Funke. The restaurant features a glass-enclosed pasta lab where guests can witness the meticulous process of handmaking pasta. The menu pays homage to various Italian culinary regions with offerings like tagliatelle with ragu bolognese from the north, alla gricia sauce from Central Italy, and lemony Sicilian-style spaghetti.
Food was incredible. Had the prawns, in-house focaccia, squash blossoms with herbed ricotta, and the pappardelle w/ragù toscano, fennel pollen & parmigiano reggiano. Nothing fell flat, everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I will definitely come here again when I'm back in LA for work. Server's were extremely helpful and kind.

Felix Trattoria on Abbot Kinney delivered a fantastic dining experience. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet warm, making it perfect for a night out with friends or a special occasion. We ordered everything family style, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The pastas, in particular, were standout. One note: I wouldn’t recommend the white sauce pizzas—those fell a little flat—so I’d suggest sticking with the traditional ones. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole evening felt well-paced and enjoyable.

Fantastic meal at Felix! You really can’t go wrong with an Evan Funke restaurant. The pasta was perfectly made, and the flavors were spot on. That said, I do wish the menu felt a little more distinct from his other restaurants. It’s definitely in line with his signature style, so if you’ve been to his other spots, you’ll find a lot of overlap. The quality and service are definitely there—the staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is cozy but lively, with a great energy for date night or a special dinner with friends. Overall, Felix is absolutely worth a visit.

Food here is pricey but the quality reflects. The true stars of the place are the pasta dishes. We ordered the peach with Burrata cheese and Polpette Della Maestra Alessandra (prosciutto meatball) as appetizers. Both were good but didn’t particularly stand out. The prosciutto meatballs was the better of the two dishes in my opinion. We tried the Margherita pizza and it was very good. The pizza dough had a good chewy texture. For the pasta dishes we got the Trofie (pesto sauce), Rigatoni All’Amatriciana and Orecchiette. All three were outstanding and cooked Al Dente. They were all delicious and had nice firm chewy feel in the mouth. Sauces were solid also. My wife liked the Trofie the best. My daughter voted for the Rigatoni, and I personally rate the Orechiette the best (on the slim margin the sauce has a spicy kick to it). It’s a good sign that there were no clear winners here - gives a good indication they were all good. We also ordered the grilled Branzino - preparation was great (they had debone most of the fish bone), the taste was good but didn’t blow us away (albeit we were all really full by that time and only took few bites of the fish - maybe if we had less food before we would have rate it higher. Service attentive and efficient and decor was good also. Overall the food were very good with special mention to the pasta. We plan to return

I had one of the worst dining experiences at Felix Trattoria. Our server, a white blonde woman, seemed friendly on the surface—but what happened with the food was unacceptable. First, we ordered the walnut salad. It arrived with absolutely no walnuts. Strangely enough, the table right next to us got the exact same salad at the same time, and theirs was full of walnuts. When I pointed this out, the server apologized and just brought walnuts on the side. At first, I thought it was just a mistake or bad luck. Then the shrimp (gamberoni) came out—salty but still decent. The real nightmare started after that. We waited 20–30 minutes for our pizza while the table next to us got theirs much faster. We brushed it off, but after finishing the pizza, we ended up waiting another 40 minutes for our pasta. By then, we were furious. When the pasta finally arrived, it was inedible. It was so salty it actually tasted bitter. It was the kind of salt overload that makes you feel like even in death, your body still wouldn’t decompose. Everyone at the table took one bite and gave up. The pasta texture itself was fine, but serving food like that is disgraceful. On the outside, the staff put on a smile, but if you’re going to play games with the food, that’s something this restaurant should be ashamed of. Especially since this place was recommended by someone we trust, and they specifically said it wasn’t salty. That makes me believe this wasn’t an accident—it felt deliberate. And as if that wasn’t enough, when we asked for the check, they brought us the wrong bill. We had ordered four dishes and a glass of wine, but the check showed $440—obviously not ours. Imagine if we hadn’t noticed. So here’s my advice: if you ever dine here, always double-check your bill unless you want to get ripped off. So thanks for giving us the worst dining experience possible. But here’s a tip: don’t ever do this again. Tourists aren’t stupid. And if this was rooted in discrimination, that only shows your true lack of class.
밥버걸 — Google review
Disappointing. First off, you can’t argue that the pasta itself is god-level. Perfect texture and shape. But the sauces on the pasta were terrible. Extremely oily and heavy, completely overwhelming the beautiful pasta. We couldn’t even finish the Busiate, and quite honestly it looked awful as well. The tagliatelle ragu was so oily after one small portion of it my plate was covered in residual oil, see the photo. The green salad was nice as were the prawns. We didn’t think the pizza was remarkable, super soggy in the middle. We skipped dessert. Wine was egregiously overpriced and small pours. I guess we missed out on this place’s heyday because there is much more refined Italian going on all over the city right now, especially at this price point.

Steak house
Chi Spacca is an upscale Italian restaurant that offers a meat-centric dining experience in a Tuscan-inspired setting. It is part of the Mozza Restaurant Group and stands out as a testament to the diversity of Italian cuisine beyond just pizza and pasta. The restaurant features an open kitchen with a wood grill, where chef Ryan DeNicola prepares massive cuts like bistecca Fiorentina and fennel pollen-dusted tomahawk pork chop.
Exceptional. I travel and dine constantly…this is the best food and dining experience I’ve had in 2024. Full stop. Can I say exceptional again? Everything we had was delicious and differentiated. You can’t make a bad selection…you must try the tomahawk pork chop. The waiter was also on point and very knowledgeable. Look forward to returning the next time I am in LA.
Andre D — Google review
I went to Osteria Mozza (which I really enjoyed) and thought Chi Spacca would be on the same level given the reputation—but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I left genuinely disappointed by both the food and the service. The waitress was inattentive, bordering on rude. We were ignored multiple times, and there was no communication whatsoever about how long the steak would take, we would have ordered something else. For a place that prides itself on meat, you’d think they’d at least set expectations about timing. When the food finally arrived, it didn’t live up to the hype. For the price point, I expected something memorable or at least well-executed, but that just wasn’t the case. I could not say that one thing was great. Zero flavor and the dishes are not well thought out. That said, the decor and atmosphere were nicely done—the space itself is cozy and well-designed. But overall, the experience felt like a missed opportunity. With so many great restaurants in LA at this price point, I will not be back.

This is a tapas type of restaurant I'd say. The biggest item was the cheese covered salad and the meat. The meat came last with onion rings. Everything was quite salty and this morning, my stomach is bubbling a bit. For $145 for one meat dish, I was a bit disappointed in the flavor. We ordered the Tomahawk. It was pork and still pink in the middle. I only ate a couple of slices because there was no side dish to drown out the saltiness. The service was good, they made sure we had water. I asked for tea which ended up being $6 for hot water and a tea bag. You will spend a lot of money here and I don't really think it's worth it.

Chi Spacca has some really unique dishes you won’t find anywhere else. I had to try the bone marrow and beef pie just out of curiosity, and it didn’t disappoint—it was super rich and delicious, with a perfectly flaky crust. They also have a great selection of charcuterie, and I went for the veal tongue, which I actually really enjoyed. Big shoutout to Miranda for being so helpful and attentive—she made the whole experience even better!

Chi Spacca will always hold a special place in my heart—my now fiancé took me here for dinner right after he proposed! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, intimate, and welcoming. We shared several incredible dishes (the beef and bone marrow pie is a must!), and every bite was packed with flavor and care. It was the perfect spot to celebrate such a special moment in our lives. I have to come here at least once a year, its just so perfect! Everything on the menu is perfect even the warm Dates are perfect I had the tomahawk pork chop this time unfortunately I was so stuffed from eating everything else on the menu first that I hit the wall after about three anazing pieces. I of course took it home and enjoyed it for the rest of the week but before the chop we had the Focaccia di Recco that some day I just want to have as a meal, maybe two of them with the anchovie butter or the squash blossoms and dip the focaccia in the tomato sauce. Anyway sorry where was i oh yes we also had the Beef & Bone Marrow pie that is just a bunch of heaven wrapped in pastry we had the Grilled Squid with Jimmy Nardello peppers, 'nduja that was amazing but as I said everything is amazing also an extensive wine list. Amazing high quality steak house. Came here for my birthday and got the porterhouse. Was cooked exactly how I like it and it was massive. My favorite part is to eat the bone and while I was doing it the chef came up and said it was such a compliment to see me eat the bone cause so many don’t. Really a great experience.

We had such an amazing dinner here! The server was incredible and super knowledgeable about the menu - his recommendations helped us put together a great menu. From the super rich bread with anchovies and butter to the lamb necks, which were very unique and delicious, I was super impressed by the flavors on the menu. I can’t wait to dine here again to try more dishes!

What an enjoyable experience dining here. I ordered the chefs menu which included nine colorful and innovative dishes that I would absolutely come back and enjoy again. It’s pricey, but well worth it. Treat yo’ self!

came here for the thanksgiving dinner 2024 1️⃣bay scallop ceviche -At first, it felt a bit plain, but when paired with the crispy rice chip on top, it added layers of texture. A nice appetizer.✅✅ 2️⃣pumpkin risotto -Absolutely delicious. Although it looked a bit ordinary and was topped with a bunch of Brussels sprouts, the combination was amazing. It reminded me of childhood memories.✅✅✅✅ 3️⃣autumn salad- found the salad quite average, maybe because it was cold. But it’s definitely healthy. 4️⃣wood fire roasted turkey -My favorite dish! The gravy inside was super delicious and perfect for dipping. It was amazing, and it really had that smoky, wood-fire flavor. I saw on their IG story that they showed the roasting process – so cool!✅✅✅✅ 5️⃣spiced pork collar ham-Tasty! The clove syrup added a sweet touch, which I really liked. It gave me a warm, comforting feeling.✅✅ 6️⃣pumpkin pie-A bit too sweet for me, probably because I’m Asian and my palate is different. But overall, it had a classic American homey vibe, something I don’t usually get to try. Very special!

They’re a steakhouse now and the steaks are definitely tender and flavorful, especially with the extra garlic they add to your plate. The scallop cake was delish and I enjoyed the mushrooms.

This place was amazing. From the food to the atmosphere and decor to the service. We had a lot of the menu. My favorite was surprisingly the mushroom garlic risotto. It was very garlicky and it had it good savory taste. The duck breast was tender and cooked very well with the flavors mixed well. The rock cod was very good and the sea urchin pasta was very delicious and creamy and not overly rich. The dry aged yellowtail crudo was also excellent along with the pacific gold oysters. The fried avocado salad was also great. We had three dessert items that were great. The seasonal sorbet was great (strawberry) and the chocolate tartlet were awesome, I don't recall the other one. The service was superb, it was paced very well and the server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the choices we had questions for. The drinks were also very good, I had the green peppercorn pilsner that was great and they also have absinthe! Cocktails were all around great from the group.

Kali, is definitely one of the Michelin restaurant you should try. The food was unbelievable amazing, and surprisingly, not very expensive. very affordable Michelin star restaurant. I will definitely go back again. The staff were so nice and friendly. Even we met the owner, chef Kevin. he was very cool, down to earth and friendly with us, the mussel in Crowded Beach was one of the best mussel I’ve ever had before, even we ordered extra more. I would definitely go back again just to try that dish. Also dessert was one of the best delicious dishes that night, we had a very good time there!

What a great dinner! We’ve had plenty of food, actually couldn’t finish it all which is t always the case with notoriously small portions in some Michelin star restaurants. Not here, it was actually very fair value. Both our servers were amazing, very attentive, caring and polite.

Good and service were lovely. I ordered the 9 course tasting, and the wine pairing. Both very nice. A few photos are attached; the duck, the lamb chop, and a lovely potato dish. Neighboring tables were a bit loud, otherwise great experience.
Kelly K — Google review
The chef's seasonal tasting menu was superb, and the wine pairing was also superb. The non alcohol pairing included all dealcoholized wines which was a pleasent surprise, allowing a designated driver to still get some wine like vibes. Of my group of three we couldn't even decide which course we liked the least because they all were soooo good. The lamb was astoundingly good. It is a no dress code place and overall it definitely has a bit of a casual vibe, but also plenty of people nicely dressed. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Asian fusion restaurant
Restaurant
Orsa & Winston is a trendy restaurant in Los Angeles that offers a unique fusion of Asian and Italian cuisine. The minimalist setting with large windows provides an artsy atmosphere for diners. The restaurant features a natural-wine selection from small European producers, offering avant-garde choices like biodynamic Burgundies and dark Austrian roses.
Went this past week and had the tasting menu. I am gluten and dairy free and they accommodated flawlessly. Each course was unique, beautiful to look at, and memorable to eat. My friend had the vegetarian tasting menu and loved it, too. The timing was excellent, no rushing or hovering. Yes, the plates are small but by the end I promise you will be full. Highly recommend.

We had an exceptional dining experience at Orsa & Winston. Every dish was thoughtfully crafted, with fresh and unique ingredients. The service was great—attentive yet unobtrusive. Our server provided clear explanations when we had questions about the ingredients. The recommended sake pairing was a standout, perfectly complementing the flavors of the dishes. Would definitely try other restaurants run by the chef next time in LA.

I was ready to be harsh with this review but honestly, food quality and an amazing service fixed it all... It all started with my wife and myself arriving 15 minutes early. And guess what... Yeah, they left us outside the restaurant (a small place without a waiting area) until the time of our reservation. Yeah, outside on the 7pm cold and in a not-that-pretty neighborhood... However, once they allowed us in, everything changed... The attention was superb, the 8 (yeah, not only 5, which is not a complaint at all) courses were delicious, the pairings (highly recommended to choose the wine pairing option too) and the timing among courses was nothing but perfect. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and they even included a little candle in the dessert, strategically placed so that it didn't affect the presentation of the dish. I mean, that might sound dumb but I didn't need to remind them that we were celebrating something, which for me is a huge detail. Totally worth the price. Totally deserved that Michelin star. Don't miss the opportunity to try it!

THE BEST tasting menu I have ever had. Orsa and Winston is exquisite. We finished each dish so quickly the server said “I would ask how it was, but the plates are still warm….” ☠️.

Incredible meal and service. Went for the 5-course omakase and added the special seafood porridge dish (a must!). Very unique and creative dishes utilizing seafood, vegetables and fruit, that you won’t find anywhere else. Chef Centeno delivers flavor combinations that are sometimes surprising, and absolutely delicious, using ingredients at their peak. It’s on the expensive side, but absolutely worth it.

4.5/5 stars This Michelin star restaurant offers a 5-course tasting menu ($150 per person), but they added some extra dishes, which was nice! Overall, I enjoyed most of the dishes, except for the vegetable dish since the sauce was way too overpowering. Also, some of the dishes tasted too buttery, but they were still edible. The cornbread would have been better if it were hotter. The lobster pieces in the pasta could have been more tender. I think my favorite dishes were the scallops and the snapper. Service was great. The dishes came out quickly
Jen — Google review
I enjoyed every aspect of our dinner here - the minimalist but classy decor, the casual yet elevated vibe, and the delicious food all came together for a great experience. The menu was fantastic, and we ended up with additional dishes based on what the chef had whipped up that night; the focaccia plate that came out was really something special. My partner got the wine pairing which was a lovely supplement of wines and sake to go along with the meal and definitely well worth it. We also got the seafood porridge supplement and cannot emphasize enough how much I’d recommend it! The seafood is perfect and goes extremely well with the risotto it comes with - it’s savory, creamy, and all around excellent.
Kelly M — Google review
We had recently gone to Orsa and Winston for a birthday. The entrance is not flashy and easily missed from the street and the restaurant itself only has a handful of tables set up. With that said, the food was immaculate. Every component was so flavorful and the progression throughout our meal was fantastic. For its price, it was almost a steal for how good it was.

Fine dining restaurant
Anajak Thai Cuisine is a well-established Thai restaurant in Los Angeles, offering a diverse menu along with beer, wine, and happy-hour specials. The restaurant has gained attention due to the recognition of its chef, Justin Pichetrungsi, who won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: West in 2023.
My first time here-wow!! I was blown away by the friendliness of the staff (I’ve never had so many staff check in with me during my dining experience in a while). They definitely know how to make someone feel at home. I’d say the big miss was the fried chicken (it’s 5 pieces). I was curious about it since it was their “signature dish”. For one it’s like $35/40 which I think is a little steep. I thought it was very underwhelming it just felt very disjointed (didn’t really get the signature appeal of it). The waiter asked if I wanted to take any of it home (I told him I wasn’t very impressed with it; was a miss for me). Between the steep price tag and underwhelming flavor I definitely had some “buyers remorse” on that dish haha. I went with the spicy drunken noodles (added chicken) that was very delicious (great flavors). It definitely brought the heat; portion size was appropriate for the pricing. I’d definitely come back for the drunken noodles or to try other entree options definitely pass on the fried chicken. Parking is street parking; the lot next to them is for chipotle customers. I’d definitely recommend Anjak Thai excellent spot for Thai food in LA.

A delicious evening with some great friends. The restaurant was busy on this Saturday night but the hospitality and service was exceptional. The restaurant manager and Sommelier came by for greetings and to talk about their extensive wine list. The food was all cooked to perfection. Each entree came out steady. We sat outside on the side of the alley under large heaters and jamming 2000s hip hop music. Seating was filled inside and out. The atmosphere was loud in the restaurant. There was also a line of people waiting on the sidewalk. We had made prior reservations. It was a good first experience. I just wished the portions were bigger for the price. Reservations are recommended. There's street parking. Some are metered. Free residence parking is on and around Dickens St.

My fiancé and I waited over a year to finally have the chance to see what all the hype was about, and it was absolutely worth the wait. We were able to get a reservation during their reopening. We started with the Papaya Salad and wow, this was the absolute favorite of the night. The flavors of the papaya and peach was just perfection. Next, we had the Thai River Prawn. The taste and and texture was so unique but delicious. Our mains were the Pad Siew and the drunken noodles. Both were the best of those dishes I’ve ever had. It was an incredible experience and I can’t wait to go back!

Great dinner with my mom. We ordered the pork ribs with pineapple glaze, scallops, sizzling steak and the bok choy. It was a low carb night for us. It was really good! Only issue is that it took a while for us to get the veggies as they were not served the entrees. The restaurant was beautifully renovated and feels bigger but still has the same vibe as before. It’s still loud inside but less so compared to before. You can easily find street parking.
Jennifer M — Google review
This is a high priced Thai restaurant ($100+ a person) and has great presentation, but overall is lacking in value. The food was all good, however, it is Thai “light” and everything is missing the depth of flavor that you find with really authentic Thai food that you can find in multiple inexpensive restaurants in Thai Town. Food is the most important part of eating out. The papaya salad was the most disappointing and the sauce on the hamachi the most delicious. The bream was good with great crispy skin, but again had no Thai punch behind the sauce. The cabbage with chutney I liked, but again I need to be wowed if I’m paying $30 for cabbage. I did not leave feeling full even though we also ordered fried rice, scallops and mango sticky rice. I was not even wowed enough to take photos of everything. The portions are very small. The decor is sub par and feels more like a basic casual restaurant and I certainly would not have been happy seated in the alley way with folding table and chairs. The wine from Czechia was wonderful. The worst part of the dinner was the noise level. Playing loud music in a small space forcing everyone to talk above it made it impossible to carry on a conversation and I couldn’t wait to be done with dinner. If you are charging high end prices you need to deliver an experience that matches which doesn’t including blasting music. It’s also surprising they are only open for dinner when they are not a high end dinner place. So the end result was good food across the board but a lot of negatives. It’s a good reasonably priced cafe minus the reasonable prices. The only thing high end is the price and the plating.

The food, when it finally appeared after about 40 minutes, was quite good — so good it almost made me forget how long I’d been waiting. The staff seemed as surprised as we were when the dishes eventually showed up, which added a bit of mystery to the evening. Definitely a great spot if you enjoy suspense with your dinner.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in the valley. Great food and atmosphere, all the sommeliers here are very knowledgeable and make great pairings, big shout-out to Ian and michael today! My favorite thing on the menu is the branzino
Sascha A — Google review
The foods are good and the service is nice, but it takes us FOREVER to wait for the food. We waited for 30 min for a mango sticky rice, which is after we waited 10min for EACH of the dish to came out. We ordered 5 dishes for three ppl and spent the majority of the time waiting instead of enjoying our food. Added: we asked how long do we need to wait for it and informed the server that we have plans afterwards, if it is not with in 10 min, we want to take it off the order, and then 20min passed without anything. We called the server and was told it’s gonna be more than 20min. We were literally told wrong information. And we had to cancel our plans afterwards. Such a great way to enjoy Halloween 😅

Pasjoli is a chic Parisian bistro in Santa Monica, offering upscale French cuisine by renowned chef Dave Beran. The restaurant features a cozy setting with a large bar and outdoor garden space. Signature dishes include crepe de crab, rilettes de canard, and fois de poulet. One of the highlights is the roasted duck for two, prepared tableside, which has earned Pasjoli a Michelin star for its world-class culinary theatrics.
Honestly, I didn’t have any expectations going in, I try to explore new places without digging too much into reviews etc. Let me start with this; What a beautiful and sweet place! The staff was also extremely attentive and kind. The food, exceptional. We didn’t end up doing the duck experience but steamed mussels were to die for, along with a fresh and warm baguette. Having lived in Paris for a few years, I could totally say Pas Joli captures that French experience here in Santa Monica. Thank you for a 10/10 experience and making our night unforgettable ✨

Super cute girls dinner! Exploring the area while in town and heard great reviews, so stopped in hoping to just grab a seat at the bar but luckily they had a table! Endive Salad: anticipated a little more leafy endive but the salad was majority shaved pear. Still very good! 4/5 Maitake: take on fish and chips! Lightly battered and perfectly fried. 5/5 Steak frites: delicious! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sauce au poivre, chefs kiss. I could have another order with fries to dip! Great drinks and service! Perfect date night or girls nice. Intimate space!

The service is incredible, and the staff members are very friendly. They even treated my little dog kindly, which made me feel very welcomed. I ordered two tomato-based dishes since I don’t usually eat meat—one was just okay, but the other was really tasty! The prices are a little on the high side, but definitely worth it for the overall experience.

Everything was too salty. I got the dry-aged ribeye (medium rare), but it was super tough with lots of sinew and had a weird flavor — not the good kind of dry-aged aroma. Honestly feels like they used heavy seasoning just to cover that up. Totally not worth the price, and I can see why they lost their Michelin star.
Yifan Z — Google review
After previous date nights here, we've been wanting to come and try the duck dinner. Hubby and I love to try as much as possible, so limiting ourselves to just a couple of dishes based on duck wasn't as appealing. A friend's birthday was a good excuse. The space is intimate, dark and moody, as a bistro should be. Friendly staff and service. Good cocktails and you can do special orders for mocktails as well. The four of us ordered quite a few appetizers, the duck and the steak frites with a side of green beans. The duck is large enough for 3, especially if you do order a few appetizers. The 4 of us couldn't finish the meal and had a good amount of left over food to take home. The duck dinner is a special occasion thing IMO.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in LA. Every dish we ordered — from the beef tartare and chicken liver mousse to the poutine frites, burger, and steak frites — was outstanding. Rich, layered flavors, beautiful plating, and perfect execution. The steak was cooked to perfection, the sauces were spot on, and even the fries were memorable. The atmosphere is elegant but warm, with a cozy bar and attentive service. Pasjoli manages to be upscale without feeling pretentious. I left impressed — and already planning to come back.

We came here last year specifically for the Canard a la presse and it definitely did not disappoint. Truly that is the main attraction of the menu. Chef Beran is very innovative, which is evident from his new restaurant. Pasjoli gives you the French bistro feel. The tartare is amazing, the foie de poulete is delicious, the French deviled eggs is unique. The cocktails menu is also creative. Although they lost their Michelin star in 2023, it probably gave this place the freedom to explore other culinary interests and perhaps less "stuffy" with their table service.

Baroo is a trendy, compact restaurant located in a strip mall that offers modern twists on traditional Korean dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant's chef, Kwang Uh, who trained around the world, creates an unpredictable dining experience with his complex and ambitious food. After closing in 2018, Baroo has been resurrected by the couple behind it and now offers one of the best plant-based tasting menus in Los Angeles for $110.
After visiting Baroo with my family last year, I returned for a second visit this time with my colleagues for a dinner. While the previous meal was excellent, this dinner felt even more refined, with a greater sense of balance in the overall dishes. The wine list was reasonably priced, and the wines recommended were great. Among the dishes, the Soy-Braised Cod stood out as the most impressive, and the Short-Rib as the best of the main courses. Additionally, the fried lobster was also a memorable highlight. If there's a good spot available, I would definitely visit again.

Second time visiting here! Baroo is my fav Korean fine dining restaurant in LA! Came here with my family for our celebration of graduation. I was pleasantly surprised that they slightly changed some tasting menu and drinks since my last visit. Loved their Monkey Business! Very smooth yet yummy makgeoli (Korean rice wine)! Tosung was so-so for me but still liked their refreshness. In terms of tasting menu, 7 courses were great and filled my tummy! My fav dishes were black cod, rice, and dessert!! I liked how the staff stayed attentive and wiped the table after every dish. They also provided us small drinks of makgeoli to help celebrate. If you have any special occasion to celebrate in LA, Baroo is a perfect place to do! Their dishes are delicate and delicious! Reservation is required. You can park at the public garage next to the restaurant (you will get a code for small discount so make sure to choose “restaurant” option when you are paying at the ticket machine). Look forward to visiting here again in the future! :)

Didn’t disappoint. Most dishes featured some interesting form of in house fermentation. Everything was seasoned perfectly. They’re really good at constructing interesting sauces here that feature ingredients which may be less familiar, and yet still achieve a feeling of nostalgia. Amazing food.

If you need a place for an anniversary, birthday, or just treating yourself this was it. Beautiful atmosphere, service was impeccable and all the staff were super kind and attentive, every dish had such unique flavor combinations and was beyond delicious, and the Korean sool pairing matched really well with each course. And if you don’t drink their teas were also fantastic, I loved the white lotus tea!

Our dinner was an exploration of modern, delicate, delicious Korean food. The meal was comprised of six courses progressing from small, delicate bites like a celeriac puree topped with preserved apple foam to hay-smoked amberjack. His undeniable favourite course was also the most eye-catching; the short rib ssam. We split the pork collar and short rib ssam so that we could try both. The rice that paired with the dishes was out of this world. My favourite was either the soy-braised black cod or the hay-smoked amberjack. Definitely new perspective on Korean food for both of us.

Genuinely, one of the best meals of my life. Everything that came out was exceptional. Our server, Keahnah, was so attentive and thoughtful, and made us feel so special. My favorite dish by far was "a lotus flower in mud," but truly the whole thing was fabulous. I highly recommend the sool pairing – the drinks were interesting, complex, and refreshing. My only note was that the dessert fell a little flat, which is a shame after such a special meal. I will absolutely be back!!!

Somni, located in Beverly Hills, offers a unique dining experience with creative tasting menus served at a chef's counter and in a private cellar room. The restaurant is known for its innovative culinary practices and promises a multi-sensory extravaganza that pushes the boundaries of traditional food experiences. Guests are seated at a half-moon counter overlooking an exhibition kitchen, adding to the immersive dining experience. The restaurant has received positive feedback for its attentive staff and impressive 20-course meal.
Everything about Somni is impeccable. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, you are fully immersed in a complete, truly one of a kind dining experience. The attention to detail is exemplary - everything from the plates, to the spoons to the food of course is truly a work of art.

Somni 2.0 is possibly the best restaurant in Los Angeles. The newly revived restaurant located on Nemo street offers just 14 seats once a night. This 20-course tasting menu highlights traditional Spanish dishes interpreted through chef Aitor Zabala's genius. Every bite at Somni is creative showcasing extreme technical precision and culinary mastery. We especially liked the black truffle tartlet, golden osetra caviar served on fluffy bread with dashi, mussels escabeche and Spanish cow with piquillo peppers. Each bite here seems to be better than the last and presentation is stunning. Textures, flavors and different preparation techniques offers nice surprises and keeps you guessing. The restaurant also feels warm and inviting, and the whole experience (from eating small bites in the patio to dining on the counter tops in the dining room) makes you feel like you're dining at a private residence with a celebrity chef cooking for you. The service and staff here are wonderful and go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable and having fun. More amazing is that every staff member cooks as well (many have returned from the original Somni when it was at the SLS Hotel for this latest iteration). The price point is steep (approximately $500/pp and an additional $150/pp for alcoholic beverage pairing). However, if you are willing to pay the price for admission, it is one of the most unforgettable and special experiences and definitely worth a special visit if in the area. The roughly 3.5 hour service goes by quickly and will have you planning your next visit by the end.

Truly, truly the pinnacle of fine dining and worth every single penny. Our experience at Somni was honestly magical. I’m convinced that this is the most well-oiled and impressive dining operation in existence right now. Every aspect of every bite was perfection - so intentional in flavor, storied in history, and gorgeous presentation wise. Not to mention the breakneck pace that the Somni team works to deliver a bite every few minutes without fail for 3+ hours. The staff is also so incredibly warm and considerate. We were celebrating our anniversary and they really went out of their way to make it special. Words don’t do Somni justice. If you ever have the chance, Somni is a must-do bucket list experience.

Osteria Mozza, a renowned upscale Italian restaurant in Los Angeles, is the brainchild of chef Nancy Silverton. The establishment offers a bustling atmosphere and is celebrated as one of the city's great dining destinations. Overseen by executive chef Elizabeth Hong, the menu features familiar yet innovative Angeleno-Italian cuisine. Osteria Mozza prides itself on its dedication to culinary craft and sustainability, sourcing important ingredients from across the Atlantic to ensure an authentic experience.
It’s the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to start writing a review before even leaving the restaurant. We had been looking forward to Osteria Mozza, and the food was truly extraordinary—easily one of the best meals we’ve ever had. But what really makes me sit here typing is Madison, our server in every sense of the word. She didn’t just serve us; she guided us with perfect recommendations, warmth, and an effortless charm that reminded me of true European hospitality. Grateful for the experience, and already planning my return.

So when in L.A and you’re looking for fine dining experiences it’s hard to pick. By chance we went with Osteria Mozza and let me tell you my friend it was well worth it. From the time we sat at the bar we knew it was going to be a great experience. Our waitress was on to it and made helpful suggestions on the food and wine. The only downside we ate way too much 🤣. We are accustomed to fine dining and this place is up there. We had the four dips with mozzarella, and it was absolutely devine. The pasta with lamb ragu was sensational and the Pan Seared Wagyu Beef Segreto was unbelievable. Dessert was Tiramisu and chocolate tart that was fantastic. Overall five stars from me👍

* Update 8.2.2025 * Just returned to Osteria Mozza for our 1st Anniversary Dinner, and WOW, it was pure magic. Thank you Guido Di Fusco and crew for an amazing evening. The extra details like personalized menus, service, and food were All Best in Class! See you guys Real Soon! ************************************************** Our first dinner date was made extra special by Osteria Mozza staff, the food, and the mood. We had a great corner table, the food was amazing, the drinks perfect, and the dessert exceptional. Every food item we had was great, the service was exceptional, and the management very keen. We will return soon for another great date experience.

Absolutely lovely! Enjoyed sitting at the mozzarella bar to watch them crank out apps and salads. Every single thing we ordered was perfection and we finished every bite. I appreciate that this Italian restaurant doesn’t try to get too cutesy…they stick to what they know well and add their own little flare without losing the essence of the dish’s intent. If I am ever in the area again I will absolutely return.

We went to Osteria Mozza for my staycation birthday and had a wonderful time. The front staff were very welcoming and had a birthday card on the table, which was thoughtful. We ordered a lot on the menu because we wanted to try so many things. We ordered the Mozzarella di Bufala & Tamai Farm Cherry Tomatoes and AMAZING garlic bread (Fett’unta), Nancy’s Caesar salad (great), shaved brussels sprouts (okay), Red Salanova Lettuce (good) and marinated cucumbers (delicious). For our pasta course we got Bavette (cacio e Pepe), ziti, Ricotta & Egg Raviolo, and Gnocchi duck ragu, all of which were outstanding. My brother also got the Grilled 8 oz. Beef Tagliata which was wonderful. If we were to go back, I would definitely repeat a mozzarella dish and garlic bread, Caesar salad, and a pasta course, and I believe my family would definitely get a secondi to share. Because three of us had two drinks each and we got so many dishes, we knew our bill would be quite pricey, so our check before tip was $533. The best part of our night was our server, Sam. She was a true delight and made it a great experience for our family. Thank you! We didn’t take too many photos because we dove right in, but I got a few of our pasta dishes.

République Café Bakery & République Restaurant is a trendy spot that offers modern French cuisine in a beautiful setting with communal tables. The restaurant, located in a historic building, pays homage to its former residents and provides exceptional service and an inviting atmosphere. The menu features mostly French dishes with influences from Asian, American, and Italian cuisines. Indulgent ingredients like butter, sugar, cream, nuts, carbs, fat, and sauces are used generously in their dishes.
No wonder this place is one of the most popular spots in all of LA. During the day they operate as a cafe and amazing brunch spot, and in the evening become a fancy dinner restaurant. The bakery selection is incredible, and everything looks so good. They also have a regular menu with food and drink options. The interior is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, grand architecture and plenty of space in a bustling environment. Despite the chaos they keep things very efficient and operating smoothly. The food was wonderful, everything we got was delicious. Definitely worth checking out, be sure to go early to avoid a long wait time.

We've been wanting to try this place for some time, but finally got her today. We parked in the valet (as there was no street parking) and went in. The entry area is small and we were there at 11:30am and most of the pastries were sold out. (get there early for the full selection) We studied the menu and ordered a couple of pasteries first. That is how it works, you order your pastry selections from the case, while waiting in line for the cashier to take your food order. We ordered a donut hole-like item that had a cream filling and a Passion Fruit cream cake. For our food, we ordered a Cuban Sandwich and the Adobo Pork Fried Rice. My wife ordered a cafe mocha and I appreciated that my iced tea was with bergamot. We took our table number (which was an old beat up tin cup - kind of fun) and found a table. We were seated right at the indoor archways to the back dining room. I enjoyed looking at the classic cathederal-like architecture while dining. Our food came and it was really good. I had the Cuban Sandwich and it was probably the best I've every had. My wife enjoyed her fried rice, but we both loved my salad that came with the sandwich. It was the best thing in the meal! It was simple butter lettuce, but the home made dressing was unbelievably good, with fresh herbs. We also enjoyed the desserts we ordered, but I was more impressed with the lunch items. That said the cream pie was tasty. We will be back as there are so many more dishes I'd like to try.

République is one of the finest dining experiences in Los Angeles, perfect for a romantic dinner, an important business meeting, or simply a night when you want everything to feel special. The historic space with its high ceilings and grand arches gives the evening a sense of occasion, and the mix of regulars, date-night couples, and Hollywood insiders makes every visit feel like an event. Chefs Walter and Margarita Manzke are the heart of it all. Walter brings world-class technique to savory dishes, while Margarita, a James Beard Award winning pastry chef, creates breads and desserts that have become iconic in their own right. Together they deliver a menu that is ambitious, polished, and deeply satisfying. Signature dishes like the tuna toast show how simple flavors can be transformed into something memorable, while steaks cooked over the wood fire are among the very best in the city, with rich smoky flavor and a perfect char. Seasonal pastas, seafood, and inventive small plates round out a menu that never disappoints. Service is attentive from start to finish, and the front desk team, especially Sade and Azari, are excellent at setting the tone with a warm welcome and smooth flow to the evening. République remains a must in Los Angeles, where every dinner feels like the kind of night you want to repeat again and again.

You got to try their food to be honest. It’s just tasty and we went for breakfast. Avocado toast with scrambled egg on side and the egg Benedict with salmon (which was delicious). We came early morning which I would recommend to avoid the crowds which they got busy quickly. Note: it’s a bit pricy in my opinion but worth every dollars

République is one of the few trendy spots in LA that actually lived up to the hype — no disappointment here! 🌟 We came in with high expectations, and it truly delivered. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful — warm, vibrant, and full of charm ✨. The food was just as impressive as the space! We ordered the Eggs Benedict and the Chia Seed Bowl, and both were excellent 🍳🥣. The flavors were light yet well-balanced — exactly what you’d want from a quality brunch. It felt like a perfect, peaceful way to start the day ☀️. We also tried one of their freshly baked cinnamon rolls (I think that’s the name — pictured here 📸), and it was super soft, fragrant, and not overly sweet — just right! 🌀🍥 Definitely a place I’d return to, whether for brunch, pastries, or just to enjoy the space with a coffee. Highly recommend! ✅💯

Great place! I'm so glad we found it. We loved everything about it, the coffee is amazing, which I miss in San Francisco, and the breakfasts were amazing. We didn't have to wait long in line to be seated, and our order was prepared quickly. I will definitely be back!

A gem of a café–bakery. From the moment you walk in, you feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The interior is beautiful and thoughtfully designed — perfect for working on a laptop or meeting with friends. The pastries are incredibly special - not the typical bakery items you find everywhere else. Everything looks like it came out of a boutique bakery, and tastes even better. Combine that with high-quality coffee and genuine hospitality, and you’ve got a spot worth visiting again and again.

A very pleasant atmosphere and truly delicious dishes! However, the coffee was terrible. I really hope you improve it. The beans were over-roasted and it was impossible to drink. The cashiers don’t know what vegan dishes are and couldn’t recommend anything, which was disappointing

Angelini Osteria is a lively Italian trattoria in LA, known for its upscale yet cozy atmosphere. Gino Angelini, an advocate of Italian cuisine, brought his expertise to the city and has been credited with introducing now-popular dishes long before they became trendy. The restaurant offers a wide-ranging menu featuring house-made pasta dishes and hearty entrees cooked in a wood oven.
Came here recommended by a friend and it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant is super cozy and the atmosphere is so nice, perfect for a date or dinner with friends. The food was really delicious. The lemon pasta was bright and lemony, creamy and just a burst of flavor, reminded me of being at the Amalfi coast. The steak was the bomb! It had this burned parts that were amazingly crispy and flavorful, never had a steak made that charred and flavorful before. The lasagna was super comforting and tasty. The baby artichokes, beef carpaccio and squash blossoms were delicious as well! The crème brûlée with black truffles was mind blowing, it was my first time tasting this flavor combo and it was truly heaven! I can’t wait to visit again next time I am in Los Angeles.

Angelini Osteria is, hands down, the best trattoria in LA. No gimmicks, no reinvention—just the timeless staples of Italian cuisine, executed to perfection. The menu doesn’t chase trends or stick to one region; it simply delivers classics that hit every time. From the lasagna to the branzino, everything is rich, simple, and deeply satisfying. Bonus points for the patio tables, which turn a great meal into a perfect one.

Angelini Osteria is a cozy, family-style Italian restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food is outstanding—I highly recommend the *black truffle pizza* and the *homemade tonnarelli*, which is packed with fresh seafood flavors. The service is just as delightful, especially *Maria*, who was incredibly sweet, attentive, and patiently explained the menu. A fantastic dining experience—I’ll definitely be back!

After googling for the best authentic Italian cuisine, I discovered Angelini Osteria, and it truly exceeded all my expectations! What a fantastic experience! You feel like you’re in Italy, it’s great ambience. On my first visit, I indulged in the calamari fritto, lasagna verde, and the pumpkin tortelli, each dish more delicious than the last. I’ve returned since then, and during my last visit, I savored the bistecca, a dish so generous it’s perfect for sharing. The service is excellent and the price is fair for the real Italian food. There’s no doubt about it: Angelini Osteria is a gem that’s absolutely worth the visit!!! 🤌🏻

Nonna Elvira’s lasagne verde dish was unexpected and incredible. Meat was delicious, deep and flavorful, ragu, and it wasn’t too heavy of a dish like most other Italian restaurants. Will absolutely return because this was made with a level of expertise that makes me excited to try all of their other dishes on the menu. Wow what a find!

FYI if you’re hungry don’t order from this restaurant. The portions are so tiny and they don’t even send bread w your delivery order. The pics are completely deceiving on the postmates site look how plentiful this pasta looks and then look what was delivered. They should mention their portions are small. Shady.

What a gorgeous place with amazing price for food that is so wonderfully put together! From the custom menu to the dessert, WOW! Wow, for taking us a in a few minutes earlier than reserved. Wow, for a gorgeous atmosphere! (Don't come dressed down!) Wow, for congratulationing us for the event we were celebrating! Wow, that each dish was amazing, from appetizers to dessert! I even had a nostalgic moment with the pasta! And the scallops were phenomenal! (Next level stuff) Wow, that I could take home my custom menu all wrapped for me! Wow, for amazing service! 👏 We will definitely be returning! Our compliments to the chef! 👏

Overall, with this price, I was expecting a better quality. We spent a total of $850 for 6 people. Unlikely to visit again. Service was great, very friendly servers. The style and vibe of the restaurant was really good, very fancy. (guess that's where I had too much expectation when walking in) However, the entrees were very average to me. The sea bass/salmon I had: the tomato sauce is a very basic kind of tomato sauce, I can't taste the chef's effort. It did not surprise me at all. So did the salmon. Portion was way too small for an adult to feel full. Desserts were better, they look amazing and taste great. Nothing to complain. Loved the 2 cakes in the pictures (sorry I can't recall what they'er called).

The food here looks incredible! Every dish arrived at my table looking spectacular. To start, I had an off menu octopus special and the hamachi. The octopus was one of the best I've ever had, not slimy or chewy at all. It was grilled to perfection with a beautiful char and exquisite flavor. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Alongside it I had the fish which was light and fresh in a tasty jalepeno ponzu sauce. For main courses I had the duck breast and lamb chop.  The dishes looked fantastic, especially the lamb chop. However, these were extremely small portions. The lamb was all of four bites and the duck was four small slices, not to mention dry as well. I was definitely wanting for more with the main courses. The sides however made up for the tiny protein servings. I had the crispy potatoes and the "Hen of the wild," a plate of oyster mushrooms. The potatoes were the star of the dinner. They were a hit - hot, crispy on the outside, soft inside and bursting with flavor. They were soooooo good. The mushrooms were also really tasty. For dessert, I had the funnel cake with berries and sherbet. The flavors were good, but the funnel cake was a little oily for me. Overall, the dinner was good. If you're really hungry, I'd say go somewhere else. Craft is definitely more of a quality over quantity kind of place.

I have known about Craft for many years and have seen every season of Top Chef and would consider myself a Tom Colicchio fan so I was very excited to try Craft for dinner last night. I am happy to say it did not disappoint! The interior is truly beautiful and open. The well known architectural firm Bentel & Bentel did a wonderful job with the design. Parking is extremely easy and available underneath the restaurant with free validated parking. They also have valet right in front but the self parking entrance is literally right next to the valet stand. They have a large seating area inside, as well as a beautiful outdoor seating area. Last night we chose to eat inside since it was our first time, but next time we will opt for an outside table. For my starter I chose the Beet Salad and it was delicious. A wonderful taste of Spring in the Summer. For my entrée I chose the Soft Shell Crab because soft shell has been one of my favorite dishes since I was a child and it continues to be. The hot sauce with it made for a perfect level of spice and it would be something I would happily order again. I highly recommend to anyone for any occasion. I work a block away so the area is very convenient for me but it is also centrally located for anyone visiting LA as well.

Great service and ambiance. I am not a steak person, but I figured Tom's restaurant would be a good place to try wagyu, and I'm SO GLAD I ordered it. I ordered it medium and it was perfect. It was a Wednesday evening, late at night, when my parents and I stumbled upon this enchanting eatery tucked away in a sleepy neighborhood. Owned by none other than Tom Colicchio, the culinary mastermind behind Top Chef, my inner professional chef and devoted fan were bursting with anticipation. The adventure commenced with a warm, aromatic gougere paired with our $3-per-person bread, which though a tad pricey, was a sign of a sophisticated gastronomic experience. The avocado salad, rich and creamy, dazzled our taste buds with the unexpected crunch and flavor of spiced peanuts. Sharing a delightful trinity of mains - wagyu pasta, Chilean Seabass, and a side of earthy hen of the woods mushrooms - we were enraptured by the flavors before us. However, an initial hiccup with the undercooked Seabass left us puzzled. Though the staff graciously tried to remedy the situation, we still found it tough to cut, despite its mouthwatering taste. Thankfully, management's gracious gesture of comping the dish left us appreciative of their care. The ambience was a symphony of soft, dim lights and a hushed, intimate atmosphere, all while being serenaded by the picturesque scenery outside. While the service was impeccable, the food - although delicious - didn't quite align with the premium price we paid. That said, this late-night discovery remains a captivating experience for any Top Chef fan seeking an unexpected culinary adventure.
Geronimo R — Google review
I would give Craft 4.5 stars if I could: 5 stars for the ambiance (low lights, pretty romantic), the pork belly (melt-in-your-mouth delicious) and the cheddar cheese grits (their specialty). ------------------------------------------- 4 stars for the bass (I wanted the snapper but our server wouldn't let two people at our table get the same dish). I did get to sample the snapper, which was wonderful, but the bass was a little tough and not very flavorful. Also 4 stars for the parking - I didn't want to valet and the parking structure was incredibly confusing.

Italian restaurant
Nestled conveniently across from Grand Central Market, Maccheroni Republic is a delightful Italian eatery that captures the essence of authentic dining right in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. This charming spot features handmade pasta crafted with fresh ingredients sourced directly from Italy, ensuring each dish bursts with flavor. The inviting atmosphere includes a cozy covered patio and a BYO wine policy, making it perfect for casual gatherings or romantic dinners.
It’s rare to find a restaurant where the food, service, and atmosphere are all equally on point. Stepping into this oasis downtown feels like walking into a trattoria in Italy — such a treat. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in LA. Tips: They don’t take reservations, so plan to come early. We arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, and it was already quite busy. We waited about 25 minutes, but it was part of the experience — while waiting, you can watch fresh pasta being made through the large glass windows of the building behind the restaurant. There’s also a peaceful water feature and some benches where you can relax. Service: The hospitality here is wonderful. We were warmly greeted and waited on by someone who I believe is the (or of the) owners — a charming Italian gentleman who made us feel like family. He walked us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and was clearly beloved by many regulars dining that night. Food: Starters: We had the garlic ciabatta, scampi alla busara, and a Caesar greens salad. The garlic bread was rich with real garlic and butter — dangerously good! The scampi in tomato sauce was absolutely delectable. Entrées: We ordered the bianchi & neri, bigoli della nonna, and tortelloni burro salvia. Each was excellent, but the bianchi & neri really stood out — the cream sauce is unique, rich, and completely addictive. It’s the signature dish for good reason. Dessert: We finished with the olive cake, which was among the best I’ve ever had. It came with two berry sauces. Not overly sweet — just complex, fragrant, and perfectly balanced. Overall, an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re in LA and love Italian food, don’t miss it.

What a hidden gem! Despite numerous reviews, I had no idea this place existed. But wow, I’m so glad I stumbled upon it! Every dish was delicious, and the ambiance was great. Parking was a bit pricey at $22, but it was right next to the restaurant’s parking structure with a $6 validation fee. So, I ended up paying $16. But most importantly, I had a great time with my friends.

Pastas on point! No reservations unfortunately so recommend going on an “off time” such as a weekday evening. We went on a Monday and didn’t have to wait. They have wines and cocktails available but you can bring your own wine for a $30 corkage fee. The pastas are the highlight here so definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good plate of pasta. For appetizers, we really enjoyed the Grilled Calamari. We went with the Spaghetti and Meatballs and the Bianchi and Nero pasta, which is their signature dish. Very decadent and cooked expertly! For dessert we got the Ricotta Cheesecake and was smooth and not too sweet! Service was attentive and the ambiance was intimate and great for a date or a small group.

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at the Maccheroni Republic. I appreciate all of the trees and greenery within the concrete jungle of downtown LA. I ate the delicious salmon spaghetti with lemon and capers. The service was quick and I witnessed many tasty dishes being served to tables of locals and tourists. There are salad options and a bevy of pasta dishes, but not much protein on the menu. I look forward to returning to this very authentic restaurant.

I didn’t want to be generic and order what everybody else did. However, I did. Hahaha. I ordered Bianchi and Neri, and it was delicious! No wonder it is a popular dish. Pasta is cooked just right. Not too thin or thick. Sauce is creamy. Delicious. I added cheese on top, but I probably didn’t need it. I also had mascarpone flan. Delicious! There was a hint of floral scent. I don’t know where it was from, but it was really nice overall. Both pretty good size portion.
MayQ P — Google review
The italian food here is absolutely phenomenal! I had the Gnocchi with bolognes sauce and it was completely out of this world! They offered to add parmesean to the dish and I wish I could have added more to compliment the dish. Once the meal was done we had dessert, a slice of chocolate cake that had a texture very similar to a light angel cake. Additionally we also had the flan, incredibly custardy with that caramel top. The only thing that would make this place better is the ability to take reservations so avoid the wait outside.

I picked this restaurant for our group before the Pink Marrini concert tonight. Didn't know them before hands, just googled and couldn't wait to experience... Cocktails: very creative with different mixes and very good. We had Passione and Watermelon Ciao. Very refreshing for a warm summer night. Food: 1. Calamari In Zimino: so delicious, smoky and so tender, melting in your mouth. Love the way they cook the Swiss chard. The whole dish has so much flavors but not overwhelming and tastes umami. 2. Cesare salad: very different than a conventional Caesar salad, well balanced of acidity and fat, great flavors and refreshing. Liked the very crunchy ciabatta crumbs, very nice touch and texture. 3. Bigoli Della Nonna: delicious, rich in flavors but not overwhelming. Liked the texture of little meat chunks in stead of traditional ground beef. Can't beat the homemade Venetian Spaghetti. 4. Bianchi & Neri: I asked for Bianchi pasta only. The dish was very good but not a WOW factor as reviews said. I could add some fermented black garlic bits or thin garlic slices. Pancetta bits could be abit bigger to be noticeable in appearance and bites. 5. Frutti di Mare: I got a taste from my friend, thought it was my favorite. Well balanced of flavors and taste, seafood seemed very fresh, Pomodoro was bright but not acidic and had a natural tomato sweetness. 6. Lasagna: got a tiny bite from another friend, it was very delicious and got so much flavors. The service was very good. Staff picked up soiled plates tentatively, and food came out promptly. There is a parking structure right next to the restaurant, $22 for 1-10hrs but you get $6 off after validated by the restaurant. Or you can park a block away on Broadway for $10. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner. Food is delicious overall. Pricing is very reasonable compared to everything is high everywhere now and also for homemade pastas, and in LA too... much appreciated for the experience ❤️.

No reservations but they use a waitlist system that texts you when your table is ready — make sure to add your name in person. Then you’re free to walk around in the meantime — grand central market is right across the street where you can explore and grab drinks in that meantime. The ambiance is great, staff is super nice, and the food and drinks were served hot. Our waiter, Ivan, was especially warm and friendly throughout the dinner. We had a bottle of Chianti, Violetta (eggplant cheese appetizer was pretty good), I ordered the AGNOLOTTI (a salsa verde with stuffed pasta, was good but not fabulous), my fiancé got the BIGOLI DELLA NONNA (I think this translates to Grandma’s Bigoli(?), his was VERY good — pasta tasted super authentic and of high quality — definitely recommend this one!). The flan was FANTASTIC!! Prices were reasonable, would come back again!

One of the best Italian restaurants!! Located in the heart of West Hollywood on famous Fairfax Ave. So much amazing food here. All their pastas are bomb! The spicy fusilli is my go to! The pizza is good just not exceptional. Salad was also good if you ignore the price. Pasta was meh. But they gave us free dessert because they were closing down and I like the cinnamon cookies! Chocolate chip was too salty for me.

What a vibe at Jon and Vinny’s on Fairfax! I strolled in on a Tuesday night without a reservation and ended up waiting about an hour for a table—not too shabby. They offered me a little sneak peek at the wine bar in the back, which was pretty cool, and the selection of bottles was definitely impressive. Once I finally got seated at the bar, our server, David, suggested the ham pizza. Now, I might be getting the name wrong, but it was the only one with vodka sauce, and let me tell you—it was out of this world! I’d come back just for that pizza alone. I didn’t snap a photo, but trust me, it was worth it. We also indulged in the meatballs, which were just as delicious. The vibes were electric—definitely the perfect spot for a first date. You might just find me back here again, craving that pizza!

I went to Jon & Vinny’s with my husband on a weekday and luckily got bar seating with just a short wait. The food was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our server never came back after taking our order, and when we asked for the honey we had already ordered, it never arrived. We ended up asking the person who dropped off our food, and they literally tossed the honey onto our table, which felt very unprofessional and unwelcome here. The server only checked in with us once we had already finished eating. The food makes me want to return, but the customer service definitely needs improvement.

The restaurant, opened in 2016, has gained a strong local following and offers an upscale atmosphere with crystal chandeliers and glass lockers showcasing premium meats. Additionally, the Michelin-starred chef Curtis Stone has launched Picnic Society by Gwen at the Grove, featuring al fresco dining and a gourmet picnic market.
I can not express enough my gratitude and awe for the Chefs and Staff of Gwen during my visit. This was my first experience at a Michelin-star restaurant, and I wanted it to be a steakhouse! I knew I was going to be in LA on the weekend, so I made a reservation for myself at the Chef's Counter, as I had seen the short doc with Curtis Stone about the creation of Gwen and the philosophy behind it. The entire experience was otherworldly for me. From the moment I walked in, everything was impeccable. The service, the food, the atmosphere, and the true care that every member of the team provided to the experience were incredible. I had the Tasting Menu AND the 36oz Bone-in Ribeye. Yes, that is a lot, but it was all amazing! Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to this experience.

Been trying popular dining spots lately with friends and family for special occasions and spur of the moment whim to treat self for working so hard. I've gotten a bucket list this year for Michelin starred and reviewed restaurants. Expected to be blown away with this experience but not quite. The establishment itself is decent, just like any other LA dining spot. Seating is casual, quite small and crowded. Decor is straight forward. Love the concept of open kitchen, it was satisfying to witness how the talented chefs prepare the food. Unfortunately, we were seated on the second floor, the room has dimmed lighting, and has its own bar with few tables. Servers are pleasant, attentive and explained the menu but seemed rushed. For starters, we got their most reviewed chicken liver mouse with country bread, warm blue crab and house made charcuterie. It's ok, warm blue crab saved the first set it's fresh and well seasoned. For mains, 30 day aged rib eye, duck fat potatoes, lobster tagiatelle and market salad. They're known for the steak, it better be great. It is good, cooked according to liking. It's probably a matter of preference but I needed a little more seasoning, quite bland. Lastly and highlight of my every dining experience is the sweet ending, got the chocolate torte and Paris Brest. Chocolate torte is rich, smooth and not to sweet with complex play of flavor. Didn't care much for the Paris brest, it's like a choux or puff pastry will filling. Just an honest review. Overall, it's a 2 out of 8 for the food experience. It didn't live up to the hype and my expectations , as well justifying my travel and dining cost. Would I come back next time? I'll probably give it another try and maybe try their prie fix menu.

Gwen was a nice dinner spot, mainly because of the ambiance and the great service. The food itself was just ok, the charcuterie plate felt underwhelming and the portions were small. The meat was good, but honestly the best part was the fresh bread with butter. The cocktails were excellent, and I liked the unique water menu (though I’d tried some of the options before). Overall, I’m giving it 4 stars for the atmosphere and service.

Experience overall: 3/10. Great atmosphere, but not a Michelin-starred restaurant that we'd revisit. We were greeted right away, and the host was polite, but I’ve never been to a high-end restaurant where the host didn’t pull out the chair for guests. I know it’s not required, and it's not a big deal, but it felt a little out of place for this kind of setting. The server made it known that they take all orders at once (rather than appetizers first), which was fine. They also wait to bring out the bread and butter until the warm dishes arrive — I’m guessing because they know it’s a favorite and don’t want people asking for refills. We ordered all these dishes for two and couldn't finish the pasta: 10/10: Bread & butter 1/10: Oysters on half shell 3.5/10: Hiramasa crudo 3.5/10: Crab dip 3.5/10: White fish w/ thai broth + ginger salad 5/10: Flat iron steak 4/10: Gnocci bolognese 5/10: Duck fat potatoes 10/10: Chocolate mousse dessert We started with the oysters, which you can order individually, but they were our least favorite. They didn’t taste fresh and had that overly “ocean-y” flavor. The hiramasa crudo started off great — light and refreshing — but the last bite didn’t taste right (not fresh). Some steak restaurants have good seafood, but we quickly realized that this was not one of them. The flat iron steak, served medium rare, came out closer to rare. We didn’t mind, but that could easily bother other guests. Steak was okay — not bad, not amazing, but I’d go elsewhere for a better overall experience. If we returned, the only thing we’d reorder would be the chocolate mousse (only thing that stood out besides the bread/butter). I did think the water menu was a nice, unique touch. Our server was kind but inattentive. She never checked on us during the meal, and we had to wave her down every time we needed something. It’s an open restaurant, so it's not hard to notice her standing at the front or kitchen against the wall - talking to her co-workers for extended periods. Once or twice would be fine, but it happened repeatedly throughout our visit - enough to be worth mentioning.

Wow 🤯 amazing experience we had. 1 of the best stakes I ever had. Wonderful atmosphere and staff that are spot on. Wife and I shared the 30 day age in New York and duck fat fried potatoes. One of my favorite parts was eating the meat off the bone salty delicious and fatty. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a phenomenal flavor profile the potatoes complemented it well with the richness of the duck fat. I love that they had a water menu with some of the best waters from around the world. Also, the steak knife presentation was really fun and unique. Drinks or tasty and well crafted. Overall, my experience was an A++ and I am excited to come back again sometime soon.

A stunning restaurant with decadent food and thoughtful service—my favorite spot in LA. The service is exceptional: attentive yet unobtrusive, with knowledgeable staff who strike the perfect balance between checking in and letting you enjoy your company. The food is beautifully presented and full of bold and distinctive flavors. The NY strip, duck fat potatoes, and charcuterie board are my personal favorites, and the desserts are just as memorable. Their steak is truly unbeatable. The ambiance is elegant and intimate, with soft, romantic lighting. You can actually hold a conversation without shouting over loud music. Gwen is perfect for a date night, dinner with friends, or a special evening with family. You really can’t go wrong!

Excellent food and service. 30-day ribeye was amazing. Great appetizers too. Wine list is huge but mostly expensive wines. They let you choose a steak knife - nice touch.

I’ve been to Gwen several times before, but this was my first time walking in without a reservation. To my delight, I was able to grab a seat at the bar with access to the full menu—which was such a treat. Gwen continues to be one of those restaurants that makes me wish I lived in LA. If I did, I’d be here every single week. I started with the Lamb Ribs—served with scallion yogurt, berbere spice, and kale powder—and WOW, these were impressive. The depth of flavor was remarkable, with the berbere adding just the right amount of warmth and spice. And that scallion yogurt? I found myself scooping up every last bit. Next came the Charred Tomatoes with roasted eggplant purée, basil, and ricotta salata. It was the perfect follow-up: a warm, vibrant salad where the savory eggplant, sharp ricotta, and fresh basil came together beautifully. For the main, I tried something new for me at Gwen—the Pork Chop with collard greens, white peaches, and walnuts. This dish completely sold me on Gwen’s mastery of meats. The pork was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy, and the sweet white peaches paired so well with the savory meat. The collard greens added a salty, slightly bitter bite that balanced everything out. Every course was memorable, the service was excellent, and the vibe at the bar made the whole evening feel special. Gwen is absolutely a must-visit in West Hollywood—one of the finest restaurants in LA.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is a unique and interactive dining spot located in Los Angeles. It offers an innovative experience with a conveyor belt system that delivers a variety of sushi dishes directly to diners. The restaurant provides an array of sushi and Japanese dishes, creating a fun and modern way to enjoy the cuisine. Customers can indulge in the experience reminiscent of dining in Japan, where plates revolve around on a belt.
A solid sushi spot with a revolving service. Great quality fish and ingredients, an excellent lunch spot. I believe we hit 30 plates and it was well worth it. Ordering is easy and getting the sushi was fast. Just wait for the ones you want and get it or just directly order it. I’d definitely come back here again for my sushi fix.

atmosphere. The experience overall was really enjoyable ,everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. Just be aware: the portions are small, so you might not feel how much you’ve eaten until the plates pile up 😅 I ended up with 17 plates and a total bill of $74.44 ,, but honestly, I had a great time and left happy. Definitely worth trying if you're in the mood for sushi and a nice vibe!
Basel — Google review
I needed a quick bite and a sushi train seemed like a good option. Luckily there was a seat available at the counter and I was soon coercing out the options flowing by. There was a good range of the standard and creative sushi, sides, alternatives and sweets. The sushi were fresh with the high turnover of a full restaurant. Each seat or table gets its own tablet for ordering and plate counter/disposal. When a dish is ordered, it's either delivered via the serving belt above or the robot, so staff are only there to handle what isn't automated. I couldn't or didn't see what each plate costs...?🤷‍♀️ Conclusion: an efficient service model that reduces manual handling, good range of options.

A unique experience in Little Tokyo. Conveyor belt sushi with secondary belts that can deliver things directly to your swat, as well as a robot that brings drinks to you. There's an ordering station at every seat, and a receptacle for plates you've finished. I was very happy with my experience here and will be back

Mostly excellent, though the ordered sushi often resulted in better made sushi. Fun experience with robots serving water too!

Loved this place. Classic revolving sushi bar that makes it easy to try all kinds of sushi and sides. Seating was simple, instructions were clear (great for first-timers), and pricing was transparent. The food was solid (not mind-blowing) but it hits the spot. The atmosphere is what really shines; it honestly feels like a quick trip to Japan. Can’t wait to come back for a late-night munch and let my hunger do the ordering

Honestly the good is good! Not great, like it's satisfying though, I think the whole appeal to the place is the restaurant itself. That being said if you're very hungry the price WILL add up, since it's 3$+ per plate There are options for those who don't eat fish/seafood as well so that is super nice! If you're looking for a fun experience I'd recommend! For casual dining not as much The staff is always amazing! They're always on top of everything, and trust me this location gets BUSY The interior itself is a little crowded feeling, but that makes sense! It is a revolving sushi bar!! Food is good, It's fun, I'd recommend for a fun night out with friends! Price can add up hella quick though!

New American restaurant
Scratch|Bar & Kitchen is a laid-back American restaurant that offers ever-changing tasting menus and à la carte options inspired by the seasons. Former Top Chef contestant Phillip Frankland Lee has revamped the concept, allowing guests to customize their dining experience with prices ranging from $40 to $120 per person. The passionate team of chefs ensures that each dish is beautifully presented and delicious, offering about 10 small plates and 4 delightful desserts.
My wife and I were able to dine here last night for our 7 year anniversary. We wanted to have a special dinner and we were not disappointed at all! The cocktails they served during the bar phase of the meal were a nice surprise. My wife who is not a fan of alcoholic drinks really enjoyed these. We had such a good time talking to the staff and enjoyed all the food. Each course was unique and brought something new to the table. The whole experience was amazing. They say, "pictures are worth a thousand words", so i'll let the photos I took do the talking. We look forward to coming back.

If you are looking for an exciting, unique and exquisite restaurant than this is it!the experience is like no other. You will enjoy carefully crafted cocktails and appetizers before being taken into a small but beautiful kitchen where the main dishes are served. Every single dish is served and explained by the chef which gives it that extra beautiful detail. Flavors of the food are very exotic and for adventurous people. We were accommodated with our small baby and warmly greeted. Overall is a great experience, definitely a dinner to remember.

Wow... That was a real culinary experience. The chefs & entire staff are very passionate about their job and it shows. Every dish was beautifully plated & delicious. Dinner was composed of about 10 small plates & 4 (yes 4) small desert dishes. Tiny portions but at the end of the evening I was full and very satisfied.

Amazing. Pricey, but very well worth every penny. I ate here with my girlfriend during DineLA and we enjoyed every single dish. Since everything there is hand made from scratch, I don't think there's anything I've yet in LA that compares. You should definitely check this place out.

What a truly amazing and unique dining experience! At first, my husband and I were a little perplexed. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we thought we were at the wrong location! There was no signage on the door, and the blinds were closed. It took us a while, but we finally spotted the doorbell, rang it, and was immediately greeted by the maitre de. He then sat us at the bar, and this was where our food adventure began. They started us off with a few small bites along with a couple of cocktail pairings. Wow. We knew we were in for a great night! Each mouthful was bursting in flavour! Needless to say, this really whetted our appetites, and we were so excited for what else was to come! Some of the bites included torched scallops with caviar, black truffle meringues, and chicharrons with salmon roe. After that, we moved into the dining room where again, we sat at a bar, but this time facing an open kitchen. Our very own Chef's Table experience! It was incredible to be able to observe the workings of a highly trained, and well organized team. Every person had a very specific role in the kitchen. It was absolutely amazing to watch! Each dish was meticulously and beautifully plated. And the food itself was extremely innovative, thoughtful and most importantly, delicious! The highlights for me were the mussel with avocado and uni shooter, spot prawn, cuttlefish with bruleed sweet potatoes, corn and caviar, and the cheese ice cream. As each plate was presented, the chefs really took the time to explain how all the ingredients were prepared and the inspiration behind them. Coming in, I didn't know what to expect, and I was completely blown away. Definitely well worth the price!

The experience is worth trying, for once at least. They have a 21 course menu, crafted carefully from, literally, scratch! There are 2 rooms 1) the bar room, where you try your first few dishes and drinks. 2) the kitchen room, where you try the rest of the menu. Later, you go back to the bar room to have one final drink.

Amazing food. All from Scratch as in the name. The staff is amazing and the food is out of this world. So happy we don’t have to drive to Beverly Hills or downtown la to get a world class meal.

I’ve been here three times, the first two times where phenomenal. So good I purchase a bunch of gift cards last year to support them during covid. It’s with such disappointment I write this. Went last night to Pasta Bar. First off, only two of the 10 courses had any pasta in them?!! And honestly, I would never want to eat any of the plates again. None sparked my interest or taste buds. Additionally I was incredibly sick all night after the meal. Very saddened that a $600+ dinner was such a let down…

Marvin is a charming French bistro and wine bar located in West Hollywood, offering classic French dishes and an extensive wine list. The modernist setting resembles a Parisian street, with a simple white-and-blue-walled dining room. The menu includes cheese and charcuterie plates, oysters, and steak frites. The bar offers a fantastic wine selection, making it a great spot for wine enthusiasts.
Elite evening! This hidden little gem knocked my socks off. All of the dishes were perfectly cooked, and every bite brought in the perfect amount of flavor. The atmosphere was unmatched with quiet muffled chatter and a soft electric energy that buzz through the entire restaurant. Service was incredibly on point, just what you would expect from this chic spot. We got a good selection from the menu starting with warm olives and a half dozen oysters. We moved onto the Italian chopped salad, jamon on French bread, and stuffed squash blossoms. The stuffed squash blossoms might have been my best bite of 2025. For our main dish, we split the Ragu and Cacio E Pepe pasta. Washing it all back with two bottles of Lambrusco. What a delight !

Walked in. Greeted by an older gentleman, told him our friend had booked the table, he then ignored us and walked straight to the next gentleman entering the premise, seated him to his table. Again ignored. Our friends then entered, and we were seated. But the abrupt rudeness wow. Then our server a brunette lady, placed our menus down. She then returned a few moments later and practically berated us to order. Mate we had just sat down like give us a sec. Very pushy. The food. WOW! COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY! Props to the chefs. The fennel salad so crisp and fresh. The pasta literal perfection. Oysters were fresh, Cant fault the food. You guys are fabulous! But the absolute rude abrupt service attitude, that lady needs a lesson on how to talk to people. Then bitching about us and pointing at us when we were paying yeah my darling we saw you. Just total rudeness.

Awesome little spot on Beverly, wasn't aware of this one at first and was brought by a friend. Really loved the atmosphere, it had a really laid back vibe matched with incredible food and wine. We had the bolognese and it was flawless. Definitely a pricey spot, would expect to spend $70-100 a person but for the right occasion it's a great choice.

I was surprised to see a 20% service fee added to our bill for a party of just three people, with no prior mention on the menu or by the staff. I understand service fees can help support staff, but transparency is key. It left a bad taste, as I would have appreciated knowing upfront.
Lili C — Google review
Had dinner here tonight and got hit with a mandatory 20% service charge for just two people. That’s ridiculous. They never told us upfront, only hid it in the tiniest print at the bottom of the menu. Feels like cheating customers. When we complained, suddenly they said they could remove it—so clearly it’s not really “mandatory.” They also tried to justify it by saying some restaurants do this, but this was my first time seeing it, and it’s a scam. And to top it off, the fine print says it’s a service charge, not a tip. Honestly, that’s a joke.
Yasmeen A — Google review
Sunday was my first time dining for dinner and we all had a great experience. French cuisine is in my top three favorites so I try to go to every single one all over Los Angeles and this is definitely one of the better ones I’ve been to, and I have already been to over 15. Our server Zeke was very polite and attentive. The vibe on the inside is a mix between a traditional French bistro and a casual cocktail bar. The east side of the restaurant is the whole bar whereas the west side is where all the tables are, as well as outside seating. For my starter I chose the Steak Tartare and it was very good. I wish there was more bread on the side to spread but the taste and quality of the meat was perfect. For my entrée I chose the grilled Branzino and was very impressed. It was two large pieces with smooth mashed potatoes and herb roasted asparagus as sides. I have been having too many desserts recently so I skipped the option last night but they had chocolate soufflé and a toffee date cake on their menu that I plan to get in the future. All around a good experience and someplace I would return. The pricing is fair and if you’re a fan of French bistros you will like this one as well. Parking is also very easy depending on the day and time but I had absolutely no trouble for my 7PM reservation.
Zan L — Google review
Good wine menu, really good pasta, but the music was so loud when we arrived that everyone in the restaurant was shouting. Also, we were very confused by the 20% service fee, which now we know is not considered a tip? Made for an awkward end to an otherwise good night out.
David C — Google review
Tsk tsk. Bad taste to hide the 20% service charge on the bill and have a line for tip still with no mention. They said nothing about this when presenting the check normally and almost got a 40% tip out of us!! Leaves a horrible taste in your mouth after. I can only imagine how many people leave double quickly signing the bill and trusting their servers to be accurate and wanting to leave a good tip. People are drinking here, it’s a wine bar. You’re taking advantage of your patrons! Apparently from other reviews it’s super small print on the menu, I didn’t see it. Be aware!! Won’t be back.

Ronan is a modern pizzeria located in an industrial-chic space away from the hustle and bustle of Melrose Avenue. The restaurant offers a changing, seasonal menu that has diners over-ordering, with every table cluttered with plates of wood-fired focaccia, burrata or chicken liver pate, Caesar salad, and blistered pizza crusts topped with spicy clams.
Everything we ordered was very tasty. Ceeser salad, ribs and Brooklyn pizza. Cheese cake was very unique. Our waitress was very attentive.
S T — Google review
They have happy hour which is nice. We ordered both the steak tartar and meatballs but the tartar was okay. Not my fave. The pizza was also okay. It was a bit soggy and hard to pick up. Cheesecake was also okay although it looked great in the photos. All in all it was just an okay place!
Tina C — Google review
Didn’t even know this place was here! Kind of set back from Melrose which transforms it really. You’re not squeezed onto a dirty sidewalk eating. They actually have a nice side patio. Inside is warm and welcoming with a large communal table. Get the Chompers “Sherman Oaks” style with nduja! So good I had to stop myself from eating the entire thing. Hamachi was a fresh and tasty starter. Cocktails were on point as well - Rodrigo behind the bar knows his stuff.

Absolutely a five star experience. The food was phenomenal. The roasted chicken might be some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Pizzas were excellent. And the asparagus side dish was phenomenal. Service was exceptional. All around an excellent dining experience. I also love they don’t use any seed oils.

The space isn't huge huge, but very decent with mini patio on the side by the entrance. It provides good balance between being intimate yet keeping it casual. Service is top-notch with very informative waiter, assisting us as first-timers in making order choices. Following his reco, we started with their Arancini Truffle and Caesar Salad. The Arancini came in 3 relatively little-but-mighty pieces with decent truffle aroma. I would say it's not like my #1, but def not bad. The Caesar Salad, which was said to be multiple-times award-winning, was refreshing and delectable especially with that generous amount of cheese featured. We did try one of each of their white as well as red pizzas. From the white, the Sweet Cheeks was our starter with toppings of Guanciale, Ricotta, and E Pepe Honey. You might guess it right that it's a combo of creamy and pepper-y taste with hint of sweetness. I personally thought it might suit more niche group given how creamy it was. Still enjoyable for me who indeed love creamy white pizzas, but I would fancy more guanciale ratio to balance the ricotta. From the red, we got their Spicy Chomper, combining Soppressata with 4 cheese, making great balance of savory and creamy flavors. Smart idea to add extra spicy kick from Chili Oil! Other thing to mention, the texture and thickness of the crust well-suited my liking, not being too thin and crispy, but not too stuffy as well.

Had an amazing date with my girl, the waitress we had was so awesome and real, felt like I was talking to a friend over a robot, and the memory of how great those senor carrots were will stay in my mind for a long time, the Brooklyn pizza was so lovely, that crust was it…. and the tiramisu and the cherry chocolate chip ice cream was outstanding. We had a great experience at this restaurant for a friends Birthday. I had the New York strip the way the Chef recommended and it was one of the best New York strips I have had in Los Angeles. The only reason I am not giving this place a 5 star is because they were out of a few items which we were informed about after we ordered. In terms of service it was great. Server was attentive and they did offer a dessert on the house for the inventory issues. Be advised, they are cashless so you will need to provide a credit card. First impression was excellent: a vibrant place with Brigitte Bardot posters and modernized Old Hollywood vibe. Although some small details were off - dead roses in the hostess's vase, all waiters saying "Bridget" instead of Brigitte (if you have several pictures of her hanging around and a cocktail named after her, teach your staff how to pronounce her name), some confusion to sit us down - we were anxious to try the food. It missed the rendezvous. The pâté was bland despite an interesting side of pickled peaches, the entrees we had - including their steak, which they served to our incredulity with, basically, bread - were unremarkable for their price, and their baba au rhum was actually outrageous, tasting like toothpaste. There is potential but the food needs to be improved.
Olivier C — Google review
The restaurant food is overpriced for the effort they put and the ingredients they incorporate in a dish. It seems that they want to copy the high class French restaurants while their food is tasteless. The steamed halibut size was very small in a bland miso soup. Japanese mackerel was a few pieces of mackerels and a pickled mix of vegetables. I have to say that they add a 5% fee to your bill for their employee’s wellness, on top of tax and tips.
Nazdaneh D — Google review
I had an absolutely fabulous time here. The service was exceptional from the hostesses to my server, Derek. The atmosphere is beautiful and every inch of the space was clearly well thought out. I enjoyed my drink - their version of a Paloma. The steak tartare was okay (and the only negative part of my meal). The duck was inspired and the huckleberry was absolutely genius. I’m always hesitant to enjoy duck in the US but this was better than some of the places I’ve eaten in France. Derek recommended I pair the duck with a Riesling. Normally I’m not a fan of white wine but this paired very nicely with the duck. The chocolate soufflé was delicious as well. Overall an amazing experience and I also stopped by Bar Lis which was also very nice.

Everything was excellent! The staff was nice and attentive, the food was gorgeous (risotto 😍), the wine was good (we’ve tried one of the cabs). The high chair for the kid was clean (which happens rarely). Overall - a very nice place, we would be happy to be back. Also the interior is pretty - like a modern french bistrot with an LA touch.

We had a pretty good dinner here. The halibut was fresh and good, paired well with the clam broth. The risotto was good (would be even better with more truffle!), and the pork chip was tasty. The souffle was good, but a bit rich and heavy. Share it with a friend.

Antico Nuovo is a restaurant that offers traditional pasta and rustic, wood-fired meats in an elegant yet laid-back setting. The menu features a selection of panes antipasti, pastas, wood-fired mains, and vegetables. The housemade pastas are served with carefully prepared sauces, and the silky ice cream has gained fame during the pandemic. Diners can enjoy dishes like thick focaccia with briny anchovies or creamy burrata in scallion oil.
Loved the food here! Didnt expect the food to be this incredible but we were surprised by how tasty everything was. Their bread and butter to start was top notch and every dishes were was delicious. We especially loved the butter and their honey ice cream. Our waitress suggested we ordered a little bit too much so we were a little too full beyond we can handled. Atmosphere was great! Really loved their soft lighting, making everything look warm and beautiful. Their restroom was also spacious and clean. Valet available outside.

At Antico Nuovo, you can tell the level of care from the little things. Even the broccoli—a simple side dish—was charred to perfection. What really stood out was the professionalism of the chef. Before service, he personally tasted the sauces to ensure everything was right. Every pasta dish was assembled straight from the sizzling hot silver pan, plated with precision and care.

So I’ve been wanting to go to this place for quite a while now heard a lot of great things about the place very hidden gym right next to a liquor store, but that only adds to the mystery. The chef super kind food was amazing top-tier ambience, amazing servers attention to detail very on top of it. Everybody, all in one of my best experiences I’ve had and some of the best food I’ve ever eaten, never been a fan of liver, but their duck liver is special. then to top it off not a huge dessert person. But their ice cream homemade made daily was amazing. I got the coconut caramel Jesus chefs kiss

Food is awesome, really enjoyed the duck liver with bread! Highly recommend the chicken and pistachio ice cream as well. Worth the money! Ambience is fabulous and environment is so nice. Waiters are friendly and prompt, would recommend it without a doubt.

The food, service and ambiance were all equally amazing. We ordered: Focaccia and pate, Corn Triangoli, Plin, the Chicken, the mashed potatoes and bone marrow and Pistachio crunch Ice cream to finish. Truly decedent and amazing, from start to finish!

So much to say about Antico Nuovo, it really lives up to its reputation as one of the best, if not the best, Italian restaurants in the Los Angeles. Every dish was phenomenal, from the focaccia, to the caesar salad (the best caesar salad ever perhaps?) and from the pastas to the mains. The half chicken was simply out of this world, the juice of which soaks into the focaccia it’s served on. It’s a must order. Each pasta tasted unique and wonderful as well. The homemade ice cream is also a must order, my crazy family ordered every single flavor… they were all heavenly. The wait staff were very nice and explained every dish to us. Overall we had a 10/10 experience here and I can’t wait to go back!

Had high hopes, we’ve been told that we had a less-than-average evening, but I just try to be honest. We haven’t quite got used to the LA-vibe of a stellar restaurant nestled in the festering armpit of a strip-mall car park, but the laundromat-cum-vapestore next door really plucked that note well. On the edges of K-town, this is apparently a gem of a restaurant. We found it…not bad, but not great. They were very kind to move us from the kitchen facing bar table - slash: Dante’s 2nd circle of hell (it was wayyyy too hot for any other social pursuit than Bikram Yoga - to a table for two. The general vibe was fine, but the table decorations in the middle of the room seemed to be growing into the patrons as they dined. Wasn’t sure what the goal there was. It was certainly dramatic. Would have given it a 4/5 for vibe but (on a Thursday night) it was empty by 9.45. What’s that about? Maybe it’s the European in me but if a restaurant is putting chairs on tables before 22h30 then you’ve gotta be worried about the clientele (or, perhaps, an imminent ICE raid). We had the kingfish crudo, the crab tagliatelle and the tagliata di manzo. It got better throughout. The crudo was fresh, but way way way too much lemon juice. It cured well before it got back to our table - so early in fact I think it released an EP in 1979 called Boys Don’t Cry. So sharp it was fighting the French in 1812*. I had to have a honey diet for three days afterwards (and despite that my brain health is still questionable). The crab pasta was fine. Nicely cooked (perhaps a touch over) crab, slightly loose sauce, but tasty. Literally (and I thought I knew how to use that word, but the preceding sentence proves me wrong) uncommentable. The tagliata was fantastic. Four slight, whispery, suggestive slices of heaven. Nestled into the green and pleasant backdrop of a subtly pesto sauce. Elgar couldn’t have written it better. I’m glad the crescendo occurred but I do feel a better composer could have brought the whole thing together with a little more panache. The wine was the biggest letdown. We ordered a 2019 Chiara Boschis Barolo - this really shouldn’t have been on the menu and DEFINITELY shouldn’t have been allowed out of the crib. Someone needs to reset the baby monitor because this one really got away from them. I’m really not a wine snob (I drink Whispering Angel and brag to my friends about it) but this arrived at our table driving a Little Tykes Cosy Coupe (yes, I had to look that up). 3/5 feels right for our experience, leans towards a 4, but we’re playing a /5 game here. Hope you enjoy! *obscure reference to the Sharpe novels written by Bernard Cromwell starring Sean Bean - a hero, a villain, a rapscallion, and 75% of my inspiration for adulthood

One of the best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. Don’t judge it from the outside, once you step in, it feels like being in Puglia. Beautiful interiors, open grill, and authentic, delicious food from start to finish. Everything was spot on. Hats off to the chef!

New American restaurant
Vespertine is a sleek and ultramodern dining venture by chef Jordan Kahn, known for its contemporary architecture and lauded fare. The restaurant offers a tasting menu that takes diners on an extraordinary culinary journey, with visually stunning dishes that are daringly inventive and impeccably balanced in flavors. The experience unfolds in a wavy obelisk in Culver City, offering a part sci-fi dreamscape, part fine-dining theatrics experience.
All the dishes were flavorful and beautifully plated. I love that every single dish, from the plates itself to the ingredients inside, have an origin story and all the servers knew exactly where and who sourced them. Every bite has a myriad of textures and tastes elevated, yet it still feels intimate. Most of the dishes were a careful combination of tart, savory, sweet, and nutty. The service was 10 out of 10, I had hot water, still water, wine and tea but they were so attentive, never letting my cups be empty. They even packed us extra pancakes to go because they over heard us saying that we’d love to have some for brekky. If you’re debating between the 2 Michelin stars in LA, would choose Vespertine over Providence.

What a fantastic experience. The food and the art and the story behind this place are exceptional. The staff and the chef were wonderful. The food was mind blowing and the ambiance of the space was like something I have never seen before. Highly recommend coming here! It was about a 3 hour experience and there is valet!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A truly hypnotic dining experience Vespertine is not just a restaurant — it’s an experience. From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a world that feels otherworldly, cinematic even. The ambiance is absolutely hypnotic — warm, mysterious, and immersive, with lighting and architecture that make you feel like you’ve entered an art installation or a film set. Every detail of the space feels deliberate, from the acoustics to the ceramics. The service is faultlessly polite and deeply respectful, yet never stiff. It feels like you’re being guided through a story. And the food — it’s exceptional. The tasting menu reads like poetry and tastes even better. Highlights for me included the Wild Scallop with passionfruit and ají amarillo, and the Obsidian Mirror, layered with golden osetra caviar, smoked mussel, and plum. Each course is both thoughtful and adventurous: Oat Porridge Bread with quail fat, the delicate Spring Lamb paired with yeast fudge and magnolia, and the standout Sea Urchin with wild kelp and 1960 DX. The experience felt like a gentle trance — not rushed, not performative, just deeply curated and emotionally rich. Vespertine isn’t for everyday dining, but for a special moment, it delivers something truly rare: stillness, beauty, and creative excellence. I left feeling nourished — body, mind, and imagination.

I have been to 30+ Michelin starred restaurants and this is by far the worst one I have been to. If you just want to take pictures and don’t care what “food” you are eating, you are probably fine. Even the hot towel they gave us at the beginning had a dirty rotten smell. And through out the experience, they are telling great stories, but they are serving bitter, sour and astringent food combinations. If that’s not bad enough, the drinks are even more disastrous, almost all the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are bitter, making me even wanting to vomit. For most restaurants, I always expect what the next course would be, but for this one, I just want to run away. I felt like being a cow in Malibu ranch eating bitter flowers and grass. It’s hard to find anything tasting good. (A rich cow paying 1500 for 2 people) (plus both of us had a slight diarrhea next morning)

Exceptional place! Is not only a restaurant it’s a whole experience. You can tell the servers and staff are passionate about delivering quality, and the price of the meal reflects that. The owner and chef was there, he was very approachable, his talent for creating high quality work is evident in every detail. Thank you Mr Kahn
Luis L — Google review
Vespertine calls itself an “experience,” and while that might sound lofty or even a bit stuffy at first glance, we were completely blown away by how true—and how beautifully understated—that description is. Every course was more stunning than the last, both in flavor and visual presentation. The textures, the plating, even the feel of the utensils against the stoneware—it all felt deliberate and deeply considered. It’s immersive, almost theatrical, but never in a way that feels overdone. What really struck us was the staff: poised and elegant without a trace of pretension. They elevate the evening without ever making you feel out of place. Vespertine isn’t just a meal—it’s a memory. We left feeling inspired, impressed, and already planning a return visit.

I brought my daughter to celebrate her 40th birthday. From the unique exterior gardens with heated cement seats, where blankets were also available for chilly nights, to the incredible aroma of the first floor (kitchen)..we we initially taken... to the exceptional attentiveness of the staff, it was a most enjoyable experience. I was so happy that we chose two variations of drink pairings. They were both exceptional, with the Dominic including juice additions..that were extremely unique and delightful to the palate. *I might highly recommend the non-alcoholic choice for those who don't partake. The pottery in/on which the entres were served were both visually and sensually pleasing. The food was wonderful! A most memorable experience for us

An ethereal experience that straddles the line between high art and experimental gastronomy. Each dish evoked fond memories of spending time out in nature trails, smelling pine trees, blooming flowers, and the sharp brine of the ocean. I can see why this was Gold's top restaurant for multiple years and the "alien cuisine" moniker really lives up to the experience because it was otherworldly.

Nestled above the charming Bicyclette Bistro, Manzke is a culinary gem brought to life by the talented duo Walter and Margarita Manzke, renowned for their acclaimed restaurant Republique. This innovative tasting experience debuted in spring 2022 under Executive Chef Joe Garcia and quickly made waves in the dining scene, earning its first Michelin star.
Celebrating my wife’s birthday at Manzke in Los Angeles was an unforgettable experience from the moment we entered, marked by an ambiance that perfectly balanced elegance and comfort. Each dish we savored was a testament to culinary artistry, featuring complex yet harmonious flavors with a unique and delicious twist on classic recipes. A special highlight of the evening was the impeccably crafted Old Fashioned cocktail, which offered a depth of flavor that beautifully complemented our meal. The service at Manzke was exceptional; the staff were not only attentive and knowledgeable but also contributed significantly to our experience with their professionalism. The warm and inviting atmosphere made it an ideal setting for a special celebration. In conclusion, Manzke is a remarkable dining destination in Los Angeles, perfect for creating lasting memories with its combination of uniquely delicious dishes, exceptional drinks, and top-notch service. It’s highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience for special occasions.

Visited a while ago and still easily my top favorite place in LA. It’s a 1-star on Michelin guide located right above their sister restaurant Bicyclette. We happened to try Providence a couple days prior and found that their menus had slight similarities, both focused on seafood. I couldn’t help but compared their menus, Manzke is way better in terms of food qualities, service standards and overall experience. Highly recommend this place for special occasions/ celebrations. Their cocktails are amazing too.
Nora Z — Google review
I have been wanting to try it for quite some time, but have been put off by Iffy reviews and a VERY unfriendly corkage policy. Still, not too many grown-up Michelin style tasting menu options in LA and we have always loved Manzke’s food and it is our birthdays, so we did it. And it was glorious. Every dish was hyper seasonal and locally sourced as well as elegant, beautiful, and most importantly, quite delicious. Service was a little awkward a la Los Angeles, but yet very attentive (not in a bad way.) We had at least 4-5 people assisting us, all very helpful and knowledgeable. Not ideal, but I worked out the wine ahead of time with the Somm. She sent me the list and we pre-ordered pre-decanted. Their markup is mostly obscene and wines too young but that is LA. We found two lovely bottles, one off list and I was able to bring one more. They decanted them prior to my arrival per my instructions. I am not sure they would do it again, but they surprised me by waiving the corkage on the one bottle I purchased since we brought two. Food highlights: Kaluga, green asparagus panna cotta, tomato gelee. The brioche was outstanding, like a cross between Challah and Croissant and it was served with a dramatic presentation of a cultured Normandy butter. Also the Supplemental course: Incredibly fresh SB spot prawns perfectly grilled tableside on binchotan ,not overcooked, way better than Providence. Another nice touch: I am not a fan of grilled Wagyu Ribeye (too fatty) and they made Fillet Mignon for me, which was perfect. We don't typically order cocktails, but when we do we want them to be be amazing and they were. I would consider coming back and doing more cocktails - Scot had one of the best Old Fashioneds I have ever had, and my passion fruit coconut pineapple gin foo foo drink was fresh, lively, and not particularly sweet. Went well with the deconstructed tuna tostada. Bottom Line, I would definitely go back. Frankly, it was the best restaurant we have been to in SoCal post-pandemic, taking the trophy from Kato. The food and overall experience was simply too good to let the wine issues keep me away. #thefoodietraveler.#TheFoodieTraveler

Absolutely loved it. From start to finish, our 4 hr dinner was the perfect birthday experience. Needless to say, the food was amazing. What more can I say, truly deserving of their Michelin star. Unique flavors and variety of textures. Bluefin tuna tostada and Thai curry crab were my favorites. Laminated brioche was also fantastic. Wagyu was really good. Dessert was top notch. Highly recommend. Service was exceptional. Their bar also a Michelin star by the way….

We had a four hour experience here. Maybe about 12 courses with wine pairings and cocktails. Everything about the night was first class. The service, innovative food, that’s crazy amazing butter, wine, cocktails… and of course, the price! They even have a little parting gift bag. Very cool and classy. A real treat once in a long while.

Their food is just so so even less than ok. Read from redbook app and they told me it’s French food. But the most courses were Japanese. If I need japan food I should go omakase. Also no recommend the drink. Taste terrible. The drink introducer may need to take off work asap, And I extremely don’t like the seat they arranged us. They let us seat at the same line for our date. Terrible experience. Ever trust redbook app!!!

Great food, amongst the best in Los Angeles. Very cool beverage program with rare and vintage spirits. Wait staff was excellent. Only complaint, and thus docking one star, is that the meal ran quite long at close to 4 hours.

Holy smokes!!! What a tasting menu!! Not one dish less than excellent!! And speaking of excellent, you would expect nothing less from a fine dining restaurant like Manzke and the service doesn’t disappoint. But while the staff is super professional, they are also friendly and not stiff and hushed. Back to the food. How do I describe all the incredible dishes? I can’t. You just have to believe the Michelin Star and the hype and go. It is worth every penny and the hours it takes.
Barndi K — Google review
Manzke is what you would hope for from a fine dining experience. We had an 11 course meal with the wine pairing. Attentive and informed service. An open kitchen with a table side visit from Chef Joe. A dish of particular note was the thai curry soup with lobster. Very unexpected and absolutely delicious. Paired perfectly with a Riesling. The bluefin tuna tostada was excellent as well, with a nice spice layered within. And the Dover sole with grapes and mushrooms was a standout, as well. And cheers to the GM Patrick for being a great host along with Manuela, Patricia and Indra for friendly service. PS: Don’t miss the cocktails. There’s a great commitment to special spirits and well balanced execution.

This is the best place in Los Angeles hands down! Immediately drop your plans, book yourself a table and enjoy a truly legendary experience. Where to even begin: (1) beautifully designed space (2) old world wine pairing is off the charts (3) the food is best in class! My new favorite cocktail —> the sidecar — a must try! Seline is a captivating fine dining destination nestled in Santa Monica, crafted by the talented Chef Dave Beran. This restaurant offers an unforgettable culinary journey that showcases California cuisine through innovative and artistic presentations. Each dish tells a story, featuring locally sourced ingredients that create a harmonious flow from one course to the next.
SELINE is another fantastic restaurant by Chef Dave Beran. Each course is artfully presented and tells a story with it's ingredients. There is a strong focus on California cuisine and using locally sourced ingredients to create a unique experience. The menu for our visit includes everything from mushroom, to trout, to squab and even a savory ice cream course. The level of creativity is what really sets SELINE apart making it far from the typical fine dining experience. Service is top notch and present without being overbearing. Everyone knows the menu well and is able to add their own comments and opinions to each course which keeps the experience fun and casual. We didn't try the wine pairing this go around but an extensive wine list is available. Overall a fantastic experience, I looking forward to going back and seeing what new ideas and menus are next.

My dinner at Seline in Santa Monica was truly unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, the exceptional customer service set the tone for a fantastic evening. Our servers and chefs were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had an outstanding experience. The menu was a masterclass in culinary innovation, with each dish expertly crafted to showcase the finest ingredients. Standouts included the truffle milkshake, a rich and decadent treat that perfectly balanced earthy truffle flavors with creamy sweetness. The bass was cooked to perfection, with a delicate flavor and silky texture that simply melted in our mouths. One of the most unique and intriguing dishes was the caviar with hazelnut coffee gelato, a bold and unexpected combination that somehow worked beautifully. The subtle bitterness of the coffee perfectly complemented the salty, luxurious caviar, creating a truly unforgettable flavor experience. The old-world wine pairing was top-notch, with each selection expertly chosen to complement and elevate the dishes. The sommelier's knowledge and passion for wine shone through in every recommendation, and each pairing added a new layer of complexity and enjoyment to the meal. Overall, Seline is a must-visit destination for any food lover. With its outstanding dinner, top-notch customer service, creative menu offerings, and exceptional wine pairings, this Santa Monica restaurant is sure to impress even the most discerning palates

One of the best tasting menu I've been fortunate enough to try in the US. There are unique and interesting combinations of ingredients and flavors (coffee and caviar? yes please 😬). There is special attention paid to textures which I always appreciate. It's not predictable like other tasting menu, each dish arrives and there's always a fun and yummy surprise. The staff are attentive, friendly, and don't take themselves too seriously. It made for a relaxed experience -a warm hug if you will. It was awesome for dishes to be presented by the chefs directly, we got a chance to ask more about the ingredients and cooking techniques. You can sense a genuine sense of pride from them. Also have to give a special shout out for the non-alcoholic beverage pairing. There was a lot of thought put into each drink and they complemented rach dish really well. No phoning it in here :) All in all, I've had two amazing meals here already and can't wait for the next visit when I'm back in LA. Thank you again Team Seline!!!

All I can say is ‘wow’. Completely blown away at the level of flavor and texture they were able to pack into the dishes. Also at most fine dining restaurants you leave feeling a bit hungry because the bites are so small, but I left so full and satisfied, I’m blown away. We did the wine pairing as well and each wine was so unique and delicious and worked perfectly to complete the dishes. We had a vegetarian diet and a nut allergy at our table and they were so accommodating of both, creating unique versions of each dish to accommodate the specific person while the rest of us enjoyed the original dishes. Just make sure you message them/let them know ahead of time about any restrictions! I would give Seline 10 stars if I could. The service was amazing. They were so friendly and welcoming and on top of all your needs. When you go it’s a little tricky to find, the address on Google maps takes you to a T-Mobile but all you need to do is walk under the arches through the courtyard of the center of the building (last photo image in this review).

Review of the 8-course tasting menu. Food was amazing. Atmosphere resonated the elevated experience. Service was on top of it. As soon as I was finished with a dish it was cleared and fresh cutlery brought out. Every dish was fantastic. Zero misses. Unique highlights included: Spring herbs, sweetbreads, buttermilk: I could have just had that buttermilk sauce and used it as a dip with the sweetbreads. It was so good. Frozen Mustard & Passionfruit: I didn’t know you could do this with a leaf. The mustard leaf is frozen but it was coated in passion fruit. The leaf cracks in your mouth and you get a burst of passion fruit. Almost like a passionfruit popsicle. All I can say is wow. Celery root: the venison and savory granola mixture blended together so well. Black truffle milkshake: never would have thought about using truffle in a milkshake - risky since truffle can be so overpowering - but it wasn’t! You get that hint of truffle in the front then the sweetness of the vanilla milkshake in the back. Perfection. I could go on and on about each dish, but you’re better off making a resy and trying them all yourself! You won’t be disappointed.

Service was incredible. Friendly and thoughtful. Every single person we interacted with knew we both had birthdays that week and wished us happy birthday. I knew it was someone who had worked at Alinea, but the tasting menu is not theatrical focused, instead more about local and fresh food. Lots of cold dishes, and stuff that played with the usual order of the meal. Starters that were sweet, desserts that were savory. Everything was very well made. The non-alcoholic pairing was a real highlight. Really interesting and unexpected beverages, all explained to us by the people who had made them. It seems to me they are aiming for at least two stars, and I certainly hope it happens for them

I was completely blown away by the wine pairing at this restaurant. All the wines were from the Old World, yet the concept was incredibly avant-garde. I could hardly imagine receiving such high-quality wine service for just a little over 200. The experience was unforgettable, and I can’t wait to add almost every bottle to my little cellar. The chef has largely mastered vegetarian cuisine, bringing out the flavors to their fullest potential, though this style might be better suited for a more casual setting. The chef kindly reminded me that this is Southern California, where people embrace a plant-forward menu—despite the fact that I’ve lived in both SoCal and NorCal for four years. If I return, I’d opt for fewer courses to enhance my sense of satisfaction; otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to fully appreciate the nearly perfect wine pairing. The most interesting parts were the obvious parts of the squab and less obvious parts of the squab. I believe Chef David could extend his masterful handling of protein to more touches. The restaurant’s ambiance is captivating, and the service is impeccable.

Restaurant Ki offers a modern take on upscale Korean food. Chef Ki perfectly balances new and traditional ingredients to create a truly fantastic dining experience. We got to enjoy the tasting menu which changes frequently. Each dish was beautifully prepared with imaginative style and ingredients. We chose to do the optional drink pairing and each course was perfectly paired with wine and sake. There was so much artistry and attention to detail in everything from the food to service to the drink pairing to the dining space and art work surrounding it. We were able to talk with Chef and the staff the entire time and ask questions along the way which really made for a fun and approachable environment. Overall this was one of the best dining experiences I've had I recent memory. We loved Kinn before it closed and we are happy to see Chef Ki back in this new space continuing to create delicious food and beautiful experiences.

Dining at Restaurant Ki was nothing short of magical. From the moment you step through the hidden entrance inside Bar Sawa, you feel transported into an intimate, exclusive world where every detail has been meticulously thought out. Chef Ki Kim’s modern Korean tasting menu is an unforgettable journey—each course a perfect harmony of flavors, textures, and artistry. Dishes like the shirako gimbap with truffle rice and the crispy octopus with gochujang cream not only amazed my palate but also told a story of Chef Ki’s creativity and deep respect for ingredients. What truly sets this experience apart is Chef Ki himself. His warmth, humility, and passion for his craft shine through in every bite and every interaction. It’s rare to find a chef who can balance world-class technique with genuine hospitality, but Chef Ki does exactly that. Restaurant Ki is more than just a meal—it’s an experience that lingers in your memory long after the last course. A well-deserved Michelin star, and I can’t wait to return!!

What a solid and whimsical experience at Restaurant Ki with a New Korean tasting menu experience which is great to see continuing to gain a foothold in Los Angeles. I think one thing that may trip up some folks is getting to Restaurant Ki. The instructions are there when you call their number but not included in the email or website. The easiest way for us was to go into the parking structure (we walked since we parked nearby at the Aiso Parking Garage - took us about 5 minutes to get to the restaurant) - go to the second floor lobby - hit the elevator door labeled for Bar Sawa (and make sure to take the middle elevator // a security guard was there for us) and then wait in the lobby where the front of house takes parties one group at a time to the restaurant. Inside, the restaurant is tucked away in its own area adjacent to Bar Sawa. The interior is modern and sleek and seemed to seat up to 12 people. Chef Ki and his team greeted us with service being all-around strong. I liked how the Chef himself would do some of the beverage service as well and really created a light atmosphere, encouraging people to ask him and his staff questions and chat with him. The tasting menu itself was all-around solid and fun with a few great standouts. (I was also super grateful they were able to make slight adjustments due to my current health status.) *Octopus: The octopus was super and fantastic. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. And the sauce made out of octopus head was fantastic - had a little bit of heat and so creamy. The presentation was so lovely as well. *Duck liver mousse: Was a surprising appetizer. The presentation was bold coming in a chicken shaped dish that the chef popped open. The dish itself was so surprising because even though it had the strong and salty duck liver; there was the strong contrast of the white peach jelly and complemented by the hardened milk bread and apple. Loved how we had to literally use a spoon shovel to dig into the creative garden. *Keizo's noodle, pine mushroom, dungeness crab: Full of flavor and rich. To me, the mushroom that topped the dish really sold and brought everything together - wish there was more of it! It was also my partner's birthday and loved how they treated us to a couple nice items such as a complimentary drink (their non-alcoholic tomato juice was surprisingly amazing) and a play on seaweed soup. All-in-all, the menu reflected the chef and the atmosphere - playful and creative + full of potential. Thank you to the Chef/staff for the experience - can't wait to see how everything continues to evolve!

There is no signage in the building or in the elevator directing you to the restaurant, and no text or email explaining how to access it (pictures attached). Called but no one picked up the phone. We had to walk around the building twice to find it, and the area didn’t feel very safe. Another couple also got lost trying to find the restaurant. We shared the experience with the front desk, but she didn't have a reaction, guess she didn't care. We were seated close to the entrance while the food prep was on the other side. It's a long marble table, so if you sit close to the entrance, you won’t be able to see the food prep or take pictures of it. The other side felt like VIPs and we were side kicks, lol... For an $800 bill, it's not a pleasant experience.
