Japanese restaurant
Fine dining restaurant
Sushi restaurant
o ya is a renowned Japanese restaurant known for its inventive sushi, Japanese small plates, and tasting menus. Despite its unassuming location in the Leather District of Boston, it has gained a cult following and received national awards and recognition over the past 15 years. The 30-seat dining room offers an intimate setting for indulging in a 20+ course omakase menu that includes traditional and inventive sushi and sashimi, as well as savory courses.
Dinner was wonderful! We had two vegan tastings and the courses were delicious and diverse. We sometimes worry about the value of a vegan tasting at a sushi restaurant, but this one was very well-executed with many different vegetables and TONS of flavor. Really enjoyed the wine and sake pairing as well. Staff was lovely and knowledgeable. One of the nicest dining experiences I’ve had in the Boston area!
Kasey E — Google review
O Ya was good, but definitely not mind-blowing. We’ve had better sushi in a landlocked state — which says a lot. For the $825 we paid, the experience just wasn’t satisfactory. The sushi was fresh and well-made, but nothing particularly memorable or unique. At this price point, you expect something more elevated. It would feel more reasonable if the pricing were adjusted. The physical space also left a lot to be desired — we were seated at a bar table that felt old and worn, and my chair was wobbly. There was little attention to detail, and the atmosphere didn’t feel refined or special. Honestly, I would’ve been happy with the experience if it had cost about half of what we paid.
Gabbie K — Google review
Sat at the bar and had the full omakase experience. Dinner is expensive for the full set menu and additions, but the quality of the fish is excellent. Very unique fish and flavor selections tailored to adventurous sushi eaters.
Zach O — Google review
O ya, oh yeaaaah Food: extra fresh Sauces: so flavorful I drank them like a soup Seating: a bit tight at the bar but as long as you like the person ypu're seating next to it's fine The view: if you're at the bar (which is half the restaurant), you'll see the chefs prepping the food. If you are at a table, all you'll see is whoever you came with. Would definitely not recommend if you don't like sushi. Currently betting that they will get a michelin star.
Agapi A — Google review
Truly incredible. The ambiance is fun, the service was excellent (shout out to Tim), and the food is absolutely outstanding. This is definitely not your traditional omakase, but an omakase that creatively enhances each bite with new and unique flavors. Truly the best meal I’ve had in Boston. Would highly recommend the bar seating as it is so fun to watch the process happen. Also, we had an allergy and dietary restriction and they handled it so smoothly and confidently. We also were able to watch the vegan/vegetarian bites get made and they also looked incredible.
Aliya M — Google review
Our dinner at o ya was INCREDIBLE. We wanted to return the second we left and will be spending many birthdays eating here. Across our party someone tried the wine pairing, sake + wine, and sake pairing. All were excellent but the wine only pairing was the favorite.
Alexis N — Google review
O Ya had been a restaurant that I'd wanted to try for a long time, but it did not deliver on expectations. While many of the 20 courses served were excellent, some were not so good. On top of that, the atmosphere of the restaurant is not that of traditional omakase and it detracts from the special experience because it is so much more impersonal. The service was good and our server was very polite and helpful. At the extremely high price point and non-refundable reservations, O Ya simply cannot compete with alternative omakase restaurants in Boston.

Amazing occasion restaurant in Boston! Very knowledgeable servers/hosts, delicious courses & accommodating to gluten dietary restrictions. a 2-2.5hr experience that is worth it.

Small plates restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Sarma Restaurant is a vibrant establishment in Somerville, part of Ana Sortun's culinary empire that includes Oleana and Sofra. The restaurant offers a modern Mediterranean menu with an emphasis on Middle Eastern flavors, serving up meze and small plates in a colorful setting. Inspired by traditional Turkish meyhanes, Sarma creates a communal dining experience with craft cocktails, local beer, and an extensive wine selection.
Truly incredible food. Flavor just explodes in your mouth for every dish. We got the corn bread, and gyro bread and I think I will think about both for the rest of my life. Wish I had pics of those to share. We also got the Tunisian tuna tacos, and the Cajun lamb and both were just indescribable. So good! Our server was great as well! I can’t remember their name but they were from Hollywood FL and were super nice and very knowledgeable about the menu!
Amber K — Google review
- Everything is really good on the menu, but if it’s your first time I recommend any of the following: Black Sea cornbread, Lentil Nachos, Harissa BBQ duck, Scallops are excellent. Note the sesame fried chicken is brought around to tables when it’s made fresh, but cannot be ordered on demand. - Lots of really nice cocktails - Due to high demand, this place mostly requires a reservation, but there are 20 bar seats available for walk ins as well - Prices are very reasonable and quality is excellent; one of my favorite restaurants in Boston
BWS T — Google review
We had the best date night at Sarma! We didn’t have a reservation. We showed up on a Thursday night. Because we were flexible on sitting at the bar v. a table, we waited about 10 minutes (faster than the estimated wait). We were able to order a drink right away. It was the first time dining out in a while where we thought the food was so creative, delicious and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the cornbread, scallops, and crab dishes. The drinks were equally delicious. The service was great at the bar. The waiter asked if we had visited before and then introduced us to the concept and his favorites based our dietary needs/preferences. They asked about allergies. We had great conversation and vibes throughout the dinner. The environment colorful and bustling. Parking is limited so plan in advance.

This is an extraordinary restaurant! I feel this restaurant is the best in Boston! They use so many different herb! Tapas. All the dishes blended well . The employees are so friendly. Our waiter was Alexis tonight. He gave us a great experience.
Elizabeth S — Google review
I truly believe all the praise Sarma receives is super well deserved. Our expectations were dangerously high going in and Sarma exceeded on all fronts! The food, drinks, and service were all exceptional! Food: All the plates we ordered were all so unique and flavorful and it was such a treat exploring them. If only we had the stomachs and wallets to try everything on the menu. Our favorites were definitely the cornbread, the brussel sprouts, and the Cajun lamb kebabs. The first bite of every dish always got us perked up and excited to try more! Also the drinks we tried were a hit with everyone! Service: This was a perfect service experience! The staff checked in frequently and effectively, always quick to deliver on requests. The plates came and went so smoothly allowing you to focus on the food and the people you’re with. Atmosphere: The energy felt so celebratory! The decor and lightly immersed you in the dining experience giving you so many interesting and beautiful things to yet your eyes wonder on. Though there was constant chatter, we could easily hear everyone in our 5 person party because of the quieter background music and the spacing of the seating.
Vincent C — Google review
Great place, cosy and vibrant. Food is fun. Make sure to make a reservation 3-4 months in advance if you don't want to seet at a bar. Bar seats are limited, come before 5 pm and be ready to stand in line for a bit. But it is definitely worth it. Drinks are also very good.
Elena T — Google review
This was one of the hardest reservations to get, so our expectations were very high — but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The appetizers were noticeably better than the main courses, and sadly, many of the dishes were overly salty. We ordered quite a lot to try a good range of the menu: Avocado muhammara, fava bean pâté, Cuban-style pork, the famous cornbread, fritters, sugar snap peas, Brussels bravas, halloumi, fried zucchini, lemon beef, BBQ duck, lamb sliders, and for dessert, loukoumades with brown butter coffee and corn butter cake. The standout dishes were the cornbread, sugar snap peas, lamb sliders, and BBQ duck. The sugar snap peas might have been our favorite bite of the night — perfectly balanced and flavorful. The cornbread was outstanding as expected: salty from feta, spicy from jalapeños, and slightly sweet — all in one bite. Incredible balance. However, found a hair in last bite of the cornbread, which really ruined the experience. The staff handled it professionally and removed the item from the bill, but for a restaurant of this caliber, it’s simply not acceptable. The BBQ duck had good flavor, but half the pieces were quite tough while others were overly salty. The lamb sliders reminded me of a sandwich version of an Iskender kebab — well-seasoned meat with yogurt sauce that nicely balanced the richness. Unfortunately, several dishes were almost inedible due to saltiness — especially the fritters, lemon beef, fava bean pâté, Cuban pork, and halloumi. The avocado muhammara and fried zucchini were fine, but not particularly memorable. For dessert, the loukoumades with Turkish coffee sauce were excellent — the sauce paired beautifully with the fried dough. The corn butter cake, however, was underwhelming. Overall, the experience was lackluster. Service started off great but dropped off after we ordered — it was hard to find our server, and check-ins were rare. Also, the drinks were mediocre, and the “Turkish coffee espresso martini” was particularly disappointing, arriving without much crema or foam. After waiting years to finally try Sarma, it was a letdown, and unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon.
Hesam A — Google review
Sarma has been on my to-go list for Boston for a while as it is the talk of the town, and securing a reservation was no small feat. So when I finally got the opportunity to go, the restaurant did not live up to expectations. The Gyro bread was very mediocre and should be included in the meal as any other regular restaurant. The various dishes we got we're mediocre and over priced for what they were. (Harissa Lamb, Lamb Kofta Sliders, Scallops Mozambique, Gyro Bread, Ricotta Babaganoush, and Tunisian Birk Tacos)The atmosphere and lack of any reasonable parking were major drawbacks as well. The service however was kind, prompt, and very professional. Overall the buzz around Sarma doesn't seem to be warranted and it is quite overpriced for what it is.

Brassica Kitchen + Cafe is a vibrant and trendy spot in Jamaica Plain, Boston. By day, it offers gourmet coffee and pastries, while at night it transforms into a Euro-style restaurant serving cocktails.
This was such a fun dining experience! It's a very eclectic array of foods with so many flavors to try. Our server, Josh, said the best way to describe the food they serve was "saucy" and that honestly is true. So many good sauces, with flavors from all over the world! We did The Ride, a fixed menu with 8 plates plus dessert. They were flexible with some dietary needs and our server was fun, knowledgeable, and had fantastic service. We loved trying so many different things and enjoyed some lovely cocktails alongside it all. Such a great spot to try new flavors and have a special date night!
Emma R — Google review
I recently had a meal at Brassica, and overall, it was a great experience. The risotto was creamy and flavorful, and the pizza had a wonderfully thin crust, very much like a classic New York-style pizza. The rigatoni pasta was tasty, though not particularly standout, but still a solid choice. The fried rice was packed with flavor and really hit the spot. The BK fried chicken (we ordered the larger portion) was incredibly tender and had just the right amount of sweetness served with a small portion of homemade mustard sauce on the side and lemon wedges, it was definitely a winner. However, the real star of the show was the Brussels sprouts. They were absolutely fantastic, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Definitely the dish that left the biggest impression, and I’ll be coming back just for those!
Rithvik — Google review
Brassica has one of the best brunches in town. The cocktails are wonderful and the food is top-notch. I love their commitment to changing up the flavors just enough to keep you wanting more, but also keeping their tried and true gems on the menu (shout out to the chicken and waffles)! And, I always look forward to taking home one of their homeade doughnuts for later. They never miss!
Candice S — Google review
We went for brunch and overall had a good time. We got the pretzel biscuit, brown butter pancakes, omelette, and breakfast fried rice. Everything looked great and the food did taste good, but towards the end of our meal we did start to feel it was a bit greasy and heavy. The vegetarian options were extensive, which I really appreciated. I would come back if I wanted to take some friends, but I think it’s slightly out of my budget to become a regular option.
Eagle B — Google review
The service was excellent. Staff was friendly, attentive and informative. I ordered the fried rice from their brunch menu and my sister ordered the melted butter pancakes. She loved the pancakes. While I enjoyed their unique touch to the fried rice and perfectly runny egg, I didn't love how much oil it was all swimming in. We also waited 45 min for our food. Edit: I made I a typo and wrote "informal" but really I meant "informative"🤦‍♀️ Learning that they just expanded and were adjusting to the new space is great context for helping me understand the delay!
Ashley F — Google review
I'm sorry to write that our experience was mediocre and disappointing. We went there with another couple of friends for dinner on a Friday evening in mid August. The place was full of people, apparently having a good time. The staff was busy and diligent, kind and friendly. The location is not so nice and the exteriors are somewhat rough, between a central bus station on a busy street with traffic and honking cars, and a parking lot of a funeral home, with big trash dumpsters. We sat in the back yard tent, four people around a small table with small plates. We liked the concept of sharing various plates and dishes, but the portions were small and the food was very salty and greasy (gave me heartburn). The black cod was unpleasantly smelly (fishy), and the green salad was very bitter and salty. The only way to fill my tummy was to order some bread, which was served with way too much butter, really wasteful. I saw a picture of fries in a review online and asked the waitress why it wasn't on the menu, she smiled and said it's a secret...  she also suggested the special of the day, but did not tell us the price, and that was not on the menu either. As a matter of principle and practicality, all items should be on the menu, and customers should know the prices before placing orders. The prices are pretty high and they charge around 23% fee to cover gratuity for the waiters, kitchen and bar staff. We respect and support all those good people, but do not like to be charged such high fees. Either raise the prices and show them clearly on the menu, or take whatever tips people leave and split the money between all the employees. Customers should have the freedom to decide how much they want to tip, considering the quality of food and service they received. We enjoyed spending a couple hours with our friends, but did not enjoy the food or sitting on the asphalt in the undecorated tent, with loud background noise. For us, it was not worth $40 per person (with no meat or seafood, with no dessert or coffee); there are much nicer places at that price level.
Doron B — Google review
Awesome experience trying The Ride (their epic tasting menu) at their new larger location! Delicious, fun food, lovely staff, and great vibe. Incredible deal for how much food you get — I took home most of a pizza (never seen a whole pizza in a multi-course tasting menu!) and entire second dessert. Eating the leftovers the next day was wonderful, too! Highly recommend.
Lillie M — Google review
We had a good time at Brassica. The staff were great and organized. The food was good but some things like the brussel sprouts were mid for the price and very small portions with rice underneath (seemed like they were just trying to cut costs). Also the pizza was alittle burnt, beyond what I would have served. But I loved the housemade vermouths and would recommend if you are looking for a fancy meal out in Boston that has a friendly/local vibe. Also definitely make a reso as it's a busy place.

Restaurant
Amar, located inside Raffles Boston, is a tribute to the city's Portuguese communities. The name itself comes from the Portuguese word for 'to love' and also references the sea. It's the first establishment in Boston's fine dining scene to showcase Portuguese cuisine, offering a seafood-focused menu with both traditional and inventive dishes. Guests praise the warm welcome from staff members like Taylor and commend server Trevor for creating a comfortable dining experience.
Just a spectacular dinner. The wine was not overpriced and was utterly delicious. The food was equally delicious. The service was wonderful. No pressure. One of the most relaxing meals I’ve ever had. Thank you to the staff. We will be back.
Thomas V — Google review
We recently came here for dinner and got the let the chef cook for you as a table. This is the first time where we’ve spent so much money (98 pp) and all left hungry. Apart from dessert, the food was generally salty and bland. The beet salad was particularly egregious. Our server told us we would be having duck when introducing the main course when it was in fact, two rubbery pieces of steak. The dessert was a highlight of our meal, though it was unfortunately plated to resemble a cow patty. Apart from the food, the rest of the restaurant was painfully mediocre. The ambience was off, the music was too loud, and we were seated in a dimly lit corner next to an exit sign. The waitstaff seemed inexperienced. We ordered a bottle of champagne, more of which seemed to be spilled on the server and table than actually poured into our glasses. Overall, this restaurant felt extremely overpriced, and it seems to be all style and no substance.
Aisu K — Google review
A Disappointing Dining Experience Despite Lovely Ambiance I had great expectations from Amar, but unfortunately, the overall dining experience fell far short of what I hoped for. While the ambiance was truly wonderful—warm, elegant, and inviting—the service and meal execution left much to be desired. Our server took a long time to come to our table to take the order, and the food arrived very late as well. Although the paired wines were thoughtfully selected and tasted excellent, they were served well before the food courses, which disrupted the pairing experience entirely. We opted for the Chef Curated Dining option, expecting a special menu showcasing the restaurant’s creativity. However, this was quite disappointing—the dishes were simply selections from the regular menu, not exclusive creations. Given the promise of a chef-curated experience, this felt misleading and not worth the $100 per person price tag. The meal itself featured Scallop Ceviche, Mushroom Gnocchi, a Duck Entrée, and Chocolate Mousse for dessert. While the food tasted fine, it was nothing remarkable. The scallop ceviche portion was very small, and the duck had a chewy texture, making it difficult to enjoy. We had specifically chosen Amar hoping for an exceptional seafood-focused experience, especially after traveling to Boston for a birthday celebration, but were let down by the minimal seafood offerings and ordinary preparation. Overall, while Amar has a beautiful atmosphere and decent wine pairings, the slow service, mismatched timing, and underwhelming chef’s menu make it hard to recommend. For the price, the experience simply didn’t meet expectations.
Vinee M — Google review
Just had an excellent dinner here!! They recently changed the menu and I was a big fan of the new menu. Plates were all stunning and I’m glad we got to try so many things. The halibut definitely stood out as well as the quail and the salted cod. I also really enjoyed the nata dessert. Since we tried most of the items on this menu, I might not come back until they change the menu again, but I would still recommend for a nice night out.
Alex I — Google review
I visited Amar on Sep 5th to celebrate my best friend's birthday, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I'd been eyeing this spot for a while, and I'm glad we finally visited. The host and staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. The first thing that caught my eye was the stunning view. The dining room was tinted with a golden hue from the setting sun. If you go, request a window seat— the view alone could justify the visit. Since it was our first visit, we opted for the chef's prix fixe menu, which turned out to be both beautiful and a little too consistent. The amuse-bouche was a tart, soft in texture, as were the rest of the courses. By the end, I couldn't quite finish my courses— not because I didn't enjoy them, but because the consistency made it a bit heavy by the end. Next time, I'll try à la carte and mix things up a bit!
Yeji C — Google review
From start to finish, our dinner experience at Amar was a restaurant night out worth noting because it stood out compared to most of our dining experiences in Boston. We were greeted warmly upon entering the lobby at Raffles Boston and shown to the elevator for a straight shot up to the 17th floor restaurant. We were greeted warmly again and sat at a nice table for 2 by the window with a gorgeous view overlooking the city and the Charles River. Our server Marie was not only attentive to details but also very personable. The mixed cocktails were made elegantly in front of our eyes on a cart wheeled right up to our table. We both had the Chef’s Choice dinner which included 2 appetizers, one entree and a dessert. Everything was delicious … tuna tartare, seared scallops, and grilled branzino. We watched the sun set over the Charles River as we finished with dessert and lattes, never feeling hurried or rushed. I have no hesitation recommending Amar and we will definitely return. Thank you for a very nice evening.

Dinner with a view overseeing Charles river! It has been a wonderful experience at Amar. The king crab salad was fresh and appetising! Beef was so tender and perfectly cooked. Catch of the day was seabass which was a bit overcooked. The cocktails and cocktails were great too.

Amar is a fantastic dining experience with an unbeatable view from the 17th floor of the Raffles Hotel. The atmosphere is modern, upscale, and relaxed, with a great vibe that adds to the overall experience. Service was attentive and professional, and I appreciated that they offered gluten-free options on the menu. For appetizers, I had the bass crudo, scallops plate, and wagyu skewers—each one was exceptional, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. For the main course, we tried the branzino special and the sea bass, both cooked perfectly and full of freshness. Overall, a memorable evening with top-tier food, excellent service, and stunning views. Highly recommend.

French restaurant
Mistral is an elegant bistro known for its acclaimed French-Mediterranean cuisine and refined surroundings. The warm Valrhona chocolate torte, made with high-quality Satilia dark chocolate, is a popular menu item. The bistro's ambiance has been carefully crafted to evoke the feeling of sitting in a southern French bistro, with classic and artfully presented dishes. Mistral has become an iconic spot for romantic dinners in Boston since its opening in 1997.
Had a wonderful night and would love to give credits to Sabad N, who was very attentive! My fiancée and myself enjoyed his service. The half roasted duck with risotto was impressive and is a must try for our next visit. We also received a wonderful surprise dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which was also a friendly gesture! Will be visiting again in our next trip to Boston:)

First time and definitely I will go back again. Great atmosphere and very good host and service. The food is tasty and relatively French authentic but delicious. Appetizers were good and a good size as well as the entries. This is a place where you leave and you are still hungry, portions are generous. I was expecting a little more choices for wine by the glass and actually better selection. Many options to select from the menu, and not the usual “Boston menu” finally.

The Caesar salad was very delicious. The drinks were fine, but nothing exceptional. Their bread was also delicious. I had the carpaccio, which was truly excellent, and the Cornish hen was especially good—we loved it. The pizza with tenderloin and mashed potato was new and delicious. The highlight of the our order was salad and hen.The ambiance was lovely. We paid more than 200 dollars for our order, and I can't tell if it worth it but we enjoyed everything truly.
Nilou Y — Google review
A wonderful place for a gathering, with a warm atmosphere and a light, pleasant aroma in the air. The restaurant offers a well-balanced take on French cuisine: the duck is beautifully done, tuna tartare is amazing, the lamb rack is slightly too gamey, and the desserts could use a bit more flair. Still, it’s worth a try!

The vibe, the service and the food all come together to deliver a wonderful special occasion dining experience. Really appreciated how coordinated the team was to make our evening special. Loved the traditional escargot and surprised by the "lazy man" mussels - the broth had smoky, creamy and such depth to it. Veal Milanese won the presentation and according to my son, the flavor award for our entrees. I enjoyed his dover sole, especially the spinach and sauce, while my wife's fish was very good too. The side of polenta had us all raving . . . and it was just a side! Show stopper was the chocolate mousse that we all shared: best ever and boy does that pastry chef earn their money!

The best french food in town. Absolutely loved the escargot and the duck was so perfectly cooked. We were genuinely surprised by how good everything tasted.
Tanuja J — Google review
Great food and service. The meats and ingredients were incredibly fresh and generously portioned—definitely come hungry! In addition to the main courses, the appetizers were outstanding. My favorites were the escargot and the foie gras on brioche, both rich and flavorful. One small drawback: I wish the dishes came with more side vegetables. Most plates didn’t include any unless we specifically ordered a salad. Overall, a delicious experience with thoughtful preparation and quality ingredients. The restaurant was also a little too loud as a fine-dining but I guess this is hard to change given the size.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Mistral. Despite booking our reservation less than a week in advance, we were able to secure a Thursday evening table with ease. The restaurant’s décor and atmosphere are elegant yet welcoming, and the crowd was a nice mix of couples, families, and friends. Service was attentive, and the food was absolutely fantastic. We shared the tuna tartare to start, followed by the duck and the short ribs—each dish was beautifully prepared, with generous portions. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a Rioja from their excellent and extensive wine list. Highly recommend Mistral for an unforgettable night out.

No. 9 Park is an elegant and upscale restaurant located in a historic townhouse on Beacon Hill, Boston. It offers French-inspired cuisine with Italian influences and a carefully curated wine list. The restaurant features a dress-to-impress bar where locals gather for cocktails, as well as a dining room popular for special occasions.
No. 9 Park makes food with quality ingredients. We had a very nice dinner with them. The cocktail shrimp was very fresh. The Papardelle with meat sauce Bolognese was excellent -The King salmon was superb very well cooked the right way the perfect way good service good people very polite good atmosphere and one thing I like in Restaurants is to have a little space between tables so nobody is eavesdropping on you as it so happens in most restaurants because they're trying to pack it in. Thank you for doing this. Very grateful on that. Enjoyed the evening. Highly recommended for the freshness and good food.

Old school French restraunt with some Italian fusion. While the food is very traditional and isn't going to surprise you with some bold new flavors, the food is very well executed and delicious. Service is a bit old school as well, but to the point of being stuffy. The vibe is taking a time machine back to fine dining in the year 2000 where patrons still wore suits and ties to dinner. I for one appreciate this. I did the seasonal tasing menu which was delicious. While it does nothing new or cutting edge each dish is expertly crafted with simple ingredients. Classic fine dining. Service was very prompt and while a little stiff, once you start engaging in conversion they will open up a bit and are actually really nice folk. I look forward to coming here again and recommend this for a classic fine dining experience especially if you are under 30 and missed out on this style when you were growing up

My husband and I visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we had an amazing experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was wonderful. Our server was incredibly friendly, answered all our questions, and offered great recommendations from the menu. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Steak Tartare, Maplebrook Burrata, and Prune-Stuffed Gnocchi. For dessert, we had the Dark Chocolate Soufflé and Affogato. They also surprised us with complimentary brownies for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch. If you visit, I highly recommend trying the Prune-Stuffed Gnocchi and Dark Chocolate Soufflé—both were exceptional!

I was fortunate enough to have had the birthday dinner of a life time here. The food was outstanding, every single plate was wonderfully executed. The gnocchi stuffed with prunes was out of this world. But what really stood out was the care that every single employee took in making sure we had an amazing experience. Our waiter John George was so incredibly knowledgeable about wine, and you could tell he had a genuine passion when describing each pairing. And the GM Bertilda has created a well oiled machine that stands out miles above the rest. I cannot recommend this dining establishment enough. They created an evening I’ll never forget.

Great place for a nice date. The food presentation and service were top notch. We ordered the tasting menu. I was impressed with the artistic presentation. I was a bit disappointed in the flavors/composition of some dishes. The focus on aesthetic design became a little chaotic at times, and distracted from creating cohesive, well-balanced flavor combinations. I was hoping for knockouts given the pricing. But nevertheless, it was a lovely experience and I’d recommend it for a fancy evening out.

We did the Chef’s Tasting menu. This was my first experience like this (multi course, fancy fancy, etc). When I walked in, it was so dimly lit it hurt my eyes. We asked for light, and they brought us our own personal lamp. I didn’t like raw fish, so they changed out one of the courses for the freshest, juices fried tomatoes I’ve ever experienced. They were eager to find ways to make the experience as great as it could be. They even set aside my leftovers so I could take them home (strangest, most delicious breakfast I’ve ever had). They even gave us another desert after our desert! It was insanely filling (with at least a meal leftover for me), and such fresh, quality ingredients. I would totally recommend doing this at least once!

We had the tasting menu and it was absolutely delicious! The service was outstanding - Brad was a delight and recommended multiple favorite/custom drinks when we wanted shots (“Where do you work?” was our favorite!). We had such a fun time and the ambiance, food, overall service and vibes were 10/10. The servers were so attentive and even explained each dish to us. The peach dessert plus some coffee was a great way to wrap up the evening. Definitely a high-end dining experience from start to finish. Big thank you again to Brad!

SRV is a casual-chic wine bar in Boston's South End that offers housemade pastas and small plates, drawing inspiration from Venetian cuisine. The menu features cicchetti, marinated olives, meatballs, cured meats, unique risotto and pasta dishes. The gelato at SRV is egg-free to allow other flavors to stand out, with options like Cookies n Cream with olive oil drizzle and Rocky Road with chocolate, hazelnut, and marshmallow.
We came here right after getting married, and it was the perfect choice! The food was excellent—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The service was outstanding, some of the best we’ve ever experienced. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely recommend. Good vibes, great food, excellent service. I took a gamble booking a birthday dinner here because I’d seen a review mentioning a vegan tasting menu, but it wasn’t mentioned on the website. When we inquired upon arrival, we were excited to find that this was not a special or arduous request, they had a vegan tasting menu written down and ready to go (they had other dietary restriction tasting menus prepared as well). There was a mix of on- and off-menu items with two each of the small, medium, and large courses, plus dessert. All of the courses were tasty, but the vegan pastas, snap peas, and coconut sorbet really stood out. Good wine list and fun cocktails, too. We had two tastings, four drinks, plus a dessert wine for under $200! Really an incredible value for the experience.

We went there on Monday evening. We got seated immediately as we had reservations. Its a well decorated interior place with dim lighting. Staff is nice. Menu is limited but good variety. We had couple of appetizers, one salad and 2 main course. Food was good. Plating was wonderful. We had one drink and it was ok.

Juntao Y — Google review
I had dinner at SRV on Columbus Avenue in the South End in September 2025 and was blown away by both the quality and the value. The name stands for Serene Republic of Venice — but for me, it had just been a place I’d walked by without really noticing. Now it’s firmly in my notebook as a restaurant to where I absolutely have to return. When my server explained the Arsenale menu $67, she described it as a blind tasting at the chef’s discretion — which means each meal can vary slightly depending on the day and season. I loved that element of surprise, and it explained why some dishes were different from what was printed on the menu. I ordered the Arsenale and also added three extra cicchetti (the boccone, stuffed pepper, and baccalà mantecato) so I could try a wider range of flavors. The progression was impressive: cicchetti to start (including a perfect pork & beef meatball and a mortadella bite with ricotta and pesto), charred broccolini with Fresno pepper sauce served alongside complimentary bread (a thoughtful touch — pairing it with the vegetable course instead of the very beginning meant I could enjoy it without a glucose spike), smoked sea trout with delicate roe, navy beans, baby bok choy (a substitution for the mustard greens and escarole listed on the menu), a luscious white wine butter sauce, and a crisp toast, two pastas (a brown-butter ravioli with summer squash, lemon, and parsley, plus a seasonal rigatoni with broccoli and a creamy mushroom), and finally a profiterole filled with cream, plated with custard and topped with a cherry. I was especially happy that there were plenty of vegetables in the meal. At first I thought I might need to order a salad separately, but I’m glad I didn’t — the broccolini and other vegetable touches were generous and satisfying, and a separate salad would have been too much. Everything was well-executed, but the smoked trout and the charred broccolini were standouts for me. The cicchetti I added on were fun extras and made the meal feel even more complete. For what could have been a carb-heavy dinner, I was surprised that my blood sugar didn’t spike at all. The menu felt balanced — with vegetables, protein, and thoughtful pacing — so instead of feeling weighed down, I left satisfied and comfortable. The interior of SRV is spacious and inviting, with high ceilings, exposed brick, and plenty of natural light from large windows. The mix of modern touches (like hanging lights and marble tables) with rustic details (brick walls, wine racks, and greenery) makes it feel both stylish and comfortable. There’s a sense of openness that makes it easy to relax, whether dining solo or with a group. Service was outstanding. My server was warm and attentive, and I also appreciated that several dishes were delivered by members of the kitchen team. Since I ordered the Arsenale menu, I could feel how closely the staff watched the pacing, making sure each course arrived at just the right time. It created a seamless, polished experience without ever feeling rushed. The pacing was on the fast side — I could have been out in an hour and a half — but I chose to slow myself down to enjoy it. What really impressed me is that they let me order the full tasting menu even though I was dining solo, which made me feel welcome. For $67, the Arsenale is one of the best values in Boston fine dining. Generous, delicious, and thoughtful at every step. I’d absolutely recommend SRV— in fact, I’d put it on my must-do Boston-area restaurant list, right alongside Pammy’s, Giulia, and Mistral. It really is that good.
Kelly C — Google review
With only one day and a half in Boston, so glad I managed to squeeze a booking at SRV. I personally love the sharing plates culture and each plate was outstanding and delicious with a modern twist. The tuna and the crab pasta were my favourite. I definitely recommend if you are in for pasta with a fun modern delicious twist
Camilo T — Google review
Fine, attentive service and inventive cuisine that runs the gamut from small bites (cod and deep-fried mozz) to heaping pasta portions (mine came with anchovies, because I'm weird). The carrot lemon curd pistachio creme cake is a winner. The Chianti was a bright, balanced and fruity delight.
Mikhail Z — Google review
The portions are huuuge, causing my usual strategy of over-ordering to backfire dramatically. Most of the dishes we (2 people) had can easily feed 4 people. Everything was tasty and solid if not super inventive. The tables are close together and unfortunately for us that meant overhearing two ladies whine about their colleagues for 1.5 hours. More eating and less complaining please!

Bar Mezzana is a sleek Italian restaurant located in the South End of Boston, offering elevated favorites inspired by the Amalfi coast. Chef Colin Lynch's menu features elegant crudos, exquisite pasta dishes, and beautifully prepared seafood entrees. The bar program, led by beverage director Ryan Lotz, adds to the experience. The restaurant's modern and elegant atmosphere makes it a standout dining destination in one of Boston's best neighborhoods.
My s/o and I have been coming to Bar Mezzana for years now. We used to live across the street at 345, so it was a short and easy walk over for whenever we wanted some cocktails or to share a late night pasta (or both). We’ve always had a wonderful time at Bar Mezzana. Our choice of seats are always at the bar, and we’ve always felt taken care of by the bartenders here. They’re extremely attentive and super friendly! And great memories too. We haven’t gone as often since we moved to the North Shore, but try to pop in when we can. Today we spontaneously walked in and found two bar seats immediately open which was nice considering how busy they were. While we haven’t been in a few months, the lead bartender recognized us and welcomed us back in. My s/o and I lean more quiet and less social at the bar, but the “nice to see you again” greeting is a kind and warm touch. It’s just the right amount of familiarity that will always keep us coming back! Oh, and the food and cocktails are also very good! But the bar service absolutely wins 👏🏻

Highly recommend the orecchiette and grilled octopus like many people mentioned- the handmade al dente bouncy texture of the orecchiette is so satisfying and the sauce and sausage and fennel pairs perfectly. Also the heirloom tomato and straciatella- so refreshing and a perfect starter. Service was friendly and though we had to sit outside in the patio, there were heaters and blankets, on request. Would totally come back again and try more things on the menu!

Went there with friends who were visiting from out of town. They heard good things about the place and so did we. We were all very disappointed. I suspect the biggest issue is the manager. The table was overloaded with dirty dishes, and the servers weren’t checking in. Twice we had to remove dishes to put them on the table next to us because as they were bringing additional dishes, they left the dirty ones on our table. You’d assume they would realize after the first time. Instead, the second time we had to do it, the manager came and made passive aggressive comments about needing to keep other tables clean. She should’ve been managing properly by asking her staff to clean tables, not being passive aggressive towards customers. Customer service at its best. The food quality was okay at best. The eggs for the Benedict and the shakshuka were extremely overcooked. And it’s not like the restaurant was even busy for them to not be paying attention. Won’t be coming again and will tell friends and family to avoid this place.

Gorgeous place, great cocktails-recommend the basil Gimlet. Mussels were divine in the pilsner with Calabrian chili, orchiette dish with sausage and fennel great but some fennel was burnt. Lump crab pasta was completely unseasoned so fresh pasta was delicious but overall little flavor

One of the tastiest spots around, with great flavors from appetizers all the way through dessert. I’m not sure how truly authentic the Italian dishes are, but they’re definitely enjoyable. The cocktails are generally solid, though I was let down by the Pickle Martini this time. Service was good overall, but I would have appreciated a little more patience when it came to pouring wine and clearing plates—it felt a bit rushed, especially for a quiet Monday night. Would definitely go again.

Mooncusser, located in Bay Village, Boston, is a chic restaurant offering seasonal 4-course tasting menus curated by Chef Carl Dooley. The prix fixe selection changes monthly and includes optional wine pairings. While seafood remains a highlight, the menu also features globally inspired dishes like Sichuan pork sausage consomme and venison with Hungarian dumplings.
Phenomenal dinner! Did the tasting menu with wine pairing. They were so accommodating to a few allergy requests and Chef Carl came by our table with a dish, and he is so lovely. The food was so unique, full of flavors that were surprising and very creative. Introduced us to some new foods that normally we would have never tried. What a fantastic experience and our highlight of our visit to Boston!

Mooncusser is one of the very best restaurants in Boston. The space has great vibes and a relaxed, comfortable feel. Service is warm and attentive, cocktails are spot-on, and the wine list offers some excellent choices. But the food - that’s the real star here, and what sets Mooncusser apart from most other restaurants in the city. They truly understand flavor, and their execution is consistently top-notch. The plating can lean on the casual side, which might give the false impression that the food is ordinary - but it is anything but. You’ll encounter new ingredients, bold flavors, and unexpected combinations, and you’ll love them. The prix-fixe menu allows for flexibility, making it easy to suit a wide range of tastes. Mooncusser is firmly in my top two restaurants in Boston, and it absolutely deserves a place on your list. You can thank me later.

Called for a last minute reservation and they generously fit us in. I'll lead with the only 'dud' in the swordfish confit with olive and potato chips. I kind of thought they were riffing on brandade but it didn't coalesce. Otherwise everything was spectacular. The tostada to start, perfectly crisp and fresh. The crab in the corn soup, amazing. The banana pepper with the agnolotti, shockingly delicious. Perfectly prepared chanterelles with the beef. The pear mostarda even had a wonderful balance. Excellent service, attentive, kind, very detail oriented. This is my own pet peeve but I don't think full restaurants ever need to have music playing. I had an absolutely wonderful time and will gladly return the next time I'm in Boston.

We visited Mooncusser to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Each dish was unique and thoughtfully prepared. Even though we knew the ingredients ahead of time, we were blown away by how each dish came together — the flavors, textures, and creativity exceeded our expectations. The use of gastronomy was immaculate, turning each course into something both exciting and sparking discussion. Our server, Grant, deserves special recognition. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality elevated the entire evening. He was knowledgeable, polished, and clearly a veteran in his field — the kind of service that makes a great meal even more memorable. Overall, it was a phenomenal dining experience. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to see what new creations the team will come up with on their rotating six-week menu.

The food tasted average in my opinion. Still felt hungry after the fixed menu. Favorite was the mango sherbet. We went as a table of three for a birthday dinner. There was a shared appetizer for the table and I noticed the portion size was the same as a table of 2 which I feel like it should've been a little more. This dinner was from April 2024

The pre fixe menu had two options for each course with the option for que pairing. We opted for the seafood choices and shared a wine pairing. The service was professional and she did a good job of explaining the wines and dishes. The presentation was nice not exceptional given the costs. They add 2% for the back of the house. In the end it’s about $225 per person.

Chickadee is a trendy restaurant located in the Seaport area, offering a blend of Mediterranean cuisine, cocktails, and craft beers within a stylish white-tiled setting. Since its establishment in 2018, it has become a popular hangout for both locals and discerning tourists seeking an authentic dining experience. The restaurant's spacious interior and vibrant ambiance, coupled with an eclectic playlist reminiscent of the 90s era, contribute to its appeal.
I had an incredible dining experience. The food was absolutely amazing, with flavors that truly stood out. Every dish we tried was perfectly prepared and exceeded our expectations. Our server was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. The overall atmosphere added to the experience, making it a night to remember. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

Chickadee is a fantastic restaurant that - somehow - still seems to fly a bit under the radar. But trust me, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality here. The food is excellent, the service is warm and attentive, the cocktail program is spot-on, and while the wine list isn’t huge, it’s well-curated and solid. I had dinner at Chickadee a few years ago and remembered that first visit very fondly, but for one reason or another, I never made it back - until a couple of months ago. From the very first bites, I was reminded why my initial impression was so strong. It may feel tucked a little out of the way, but do yourself a favor: go check it out, and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

One of the best dining experiences of my life! The drinks, the food and especially the service were EXCEPTIONAL! Can’t say enough good things about this place. Some highlights were the gray parrot drink, all the clear/clarified drinks, the lobster and rabbit pastas. The service was the highlight of the evening though…so attentive and thoughtful. The whole crew signed a card for our anniversary and gave us a round of drinks to celebrate. The waiter checked in at all the right times and made great recommendations making sure we had a very special night. We can’t wait to come back!

We came here for brunch on a Saturday. We made a reservation but it was not necessary. Our waitress was really nice. My boyfriend had the elderberry mimosa, which was tasty. My boyfriend had the chicken and waffles and the chicken was cooked perfectly - so crispy and well seasoned. I had the spring vegetable shakshouka, which was I was worried would be spicy and it was not. Our waitress recommended adding a side of sourdough bread and that was a great suggestion (it should definitely come with some sort of bread imo). We really enjoyed our meal. We did ask the waitress a question about an ingredient and she was able to clarify with the chef. We had a great experience.
Ariel B — Google review
The food at Chickadee was overall very good, with creative flavors and interesting presentation. Some dishes were a bit salty for my taste, but still enjoyable and worth trying. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, and the service was fine, making it a nice place for dinner with friends or a casual night out. (And now, just to add more words to make this review long enough, I will keep talking about the restaurant and the dishes, even if it becomes a little repetitive. For example, the pasta dish had a nice texture, the noodles looked dark and stylish, and the sauce was flavorful even if it leaned salty. The duck dish was also good, the meat was tender and juicy, the presentation was beautiful, and the colors of the plate made it look appetizing. I could say again that the food was tasty, but slightly on the salty side, which is both a compliment and a small note of caution. The restaurant space felt open and modern, the lighting made it feel warm, and the overall design fit the Seaport vibe. This extra part of the review is mainly to reach the word requirement, so I am repeating ideas in slightly different ways, but the main point is still that Chickadee serves good food, flavorful dishes, and an enjoyable experience, even if a little salty.)

My husband and I came here for dinner on Saturday night to celebrate our recent marriage, and we had the best evening! The food was outstanding, beautifully plated, generous portions, and absolutely bursting with flavor. Every single bite was amazing. I’ve dined at several Bib Gourmand recognized spots in Boston, and I genuinely don’t know how this restaurant isn’t on that list yet. It feels like a true oversight. New American restaurant
Restaurant
Asta is a culinary gem nestled in Back Bay, where the artistry of Chef Alex Crabb shines through an innovative tasting menu that evolves monthly. Drawing inspiration from his experiences at renowned establishments like Noma and LEspalier, Asta offers a unique blend of French and Scandinavian flavors. The ambiance is simple yet inviting, featuring exposed brick walls that create a warm atmosphere for diners.
This was my first visit to Asta. I ordered the full tasting menu along with three add-ons—both foie gras options and the Zimbro—and I’m glad I did. The experience was beautifully curated, with inventive flavor combinations and textures that kept surprising me. I arrived about 10 minutes before opening and was welcomed in warmly. A complimentary glass of sparkling wine was offered, which was a lovely start (though I did silently note that my pour was smaller than those at neighboring tables). Likewise, despite being the first seated, my amuse-bouche was served after the couple who arrived later. Not major offenses, but noticeable in an otherwise detail-oriented experience. Now, to the food—where Asta truly excels. The standout for me was the lobster vinegar rice with corn, cucumber, pickled wakame, and black truffle. It was warm, umami-rich, delicately briny, and perfectly balanced in texture. It embodied everything I love about tasting menus—unexpected, comforting, and unforgettable. Other highlights: • The sumac sorbet palate cleanser, which arrived just when I needed a reset. Bright, citrusy, and fragrant, it sharpened my senses for the courses that followed. • The beets with chile and red dulse, served in a sesame cream, were earthy and creamy with just the right amount of zing. • The lamb with ratatouille was beautifully cooked and plated, bold yet nuanced. • Dessert, a sour cherry hand pie with diplomat cream, was rustic and delightful, capping the meal with a subtle touch of nostalgia. The add-ons were also worth it: • The seared foie gras with braised callaloo and ginger beer float was both rich and playfully composed. • The foie gras ganache, about the size of a chocolate truffle, was a small but mighty bite. Paired with cocoa nib granola and sea buckthorn, it felt like a decadent little secret—sweet, savory, and complex in all the right ways. • The Zimbro, a dish of aged sheep’s milk cheese with beans, beets, and burnt honey, was unexpected and intriguing—sharp and creamy with an earthy-sweet finish that lingered. One thing to know: the seating is firm—standard wood chairs and high-top stools, with no cushioning. I arrived right before 6 PM and had my pick of seats, but by 8 PM the place was full. You can choose to sit at the tasting counter, which is elevated and faces the open kitchen (great if you enjoy watching the chefs work), or at a regular table. I opted for a standard table—I like having my feet on the ground. The space has a quiet, understated elegance, and the staff was uniformly kind. Each table has built-in drawers, and when you open them, you’ll find neatly placed utensils and cotton napkins—another sign of Asta’s quiet thoughtfulness. If you need anything extra, you can simply ask, and the staff will happily bring it over. A chilled carafe of water is placed on your table, a small but appreciated touch. I also ordered the Lapos Citrus Spritz, a mocktail recommended by my server, Nora—and it was exactly what I wanted. Lightly sparkling, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced, it complemented the tasting menu without overwhelming any of the flavors. At the very end of the meal, they brought out a small bowl of complimentary popcorn—warm, spiced, and probably the best popcorn I’ve ever tasted. Light but flavorful, with a subtle kick I wasn’t expecting, it arrived alongside the check and left a lasting impression. The check itself is handwritten, which adds to the restaurant’s understated, almost analog charm. I actually went back and mentally tallied my courses and add-ons just to be sure the math worked out—something about the casual format made me double-check. In the end, it just felt like another part of Asta’s personality: thoughtful, gently offbeat, and quietly confident. Asta is not trying to be showy—it’s trying to be thoughtful. For the most part, it succeeds. The service is warm, the plating elegant, and the pacing (after that initial hiccup) just right. The creativity and restraint shown in the flavor pairings left me thinking about the meal long after it ended.

I have been wanting to try the vegan January tasting menu for quite some time, and unfortunately left disappointed last night. While each item tasted good, it felt like a very narrow mindset of what vegan food can be. Most dishes were a small piece of vegetable with a sauce. There were no proteins and no course felt particularly interesting or inventive. Favorites included the squash dessert, lime sweet potato, and soup with Asian pear. While very tasty, no bites were particularly memorable. At this price point and portion size, I have high expectations and most things felt very ordinary. If not so beautifully plated, the flavors were no different than a standard restaurant at a far lower price point. The wine pairing on the other hand was quite generous but did not help with the growing hunger as the meal progressed. After leaving, we were all still hungry and had to go get a slice of pizza. That simply should not be happening after spending $250+ per person on a meal. Overall, there are much better restaurants in Boston to splurge on an exciting and innovative meal that won't leave you hungry.

At $95 a person, this is a definite no-go. The taste of each dish is mostly lacking. There are some nice things (razor clam and wakame) but other things are severely lacking and underwhelming (blistered green onions). Also, the pacing is terribly slow, clocking in at almost 3 hours for 6 dishes. It would also be great to have a door in between the toilet and the urinal in the men's bathroom. Besides that, I think the vibe is good if you're into the unfinished brick wall aesthetic and Camberville-esque feel. I also found the staff to be very attentive.

Awesome restaurant. Amazing flavors. Great service experience. Truly a wonderful place to have a memorable meal.

One of my favorite spots in Boston. The tasting menu is constantly changing according to seasonal ingredients, all of which are locally sourced. The tasting menu is always 6 courses. Vegetables and fruits are usually at the forefront of dishes, but fish and meat are the main course. Everything is always delicious. Nothing pretentious here. Just simple ingredients cooked with great technique to fantastic results. Desserts are also super creative and always finish strong. Service is always super friendly and top tier. . I am a regular and they make feel feel like I'm at my second home wherever I come. I highly recommend everyone try Asta. I assure you, you will be become a regular too!

A great tasting menu and dining experience in Boston. There aren’t a ton of true tasting menus with wine pairings in Boston, but this is definitely one of my favorites. Highly recommend sitting at the counter tops if they’re available, quite enjoyable to watch the chefs work, plus it just makes it easier to talk to your partner if you’re a group of 2. Probably not ideal for groups of 4. We included the wine pairing which i consider a must for the experience, you can choose your own wines though, but I highly recommend doing the pairing. It’s just nice to not think about how to pair your next course, plus the wines were pretty unique for us. We had the 6 course February menu, plus one add on, plus a couple extra smaller courses added in, and left very full. That wasn’t an issue at all as I saw in other reviews. Had a range of fishes, red meat, veggie courses and each tasted great. My favorite was the halibut with mussels and grapefruit, it was seasoned perfectly and in a delicious sauce. Overall Asta is a great restaurant and a fun experience. It definitely isn’t cheap, but the food quality, service, and wine pairings certainly justify the cost.

Best fine dining experience of my life. It was everything I had hoped for and more. From the service, to the music, to of course the food. I added the cheese plate. I loved watching the Chef(s) at work. It was the best way to spend our anniversary in Boston. So happy we booked reservations and got the last counter seats upon arrival. If you’re wanting a fun and always changing chef’s menu go to Asta. If I was local I’d be a regular. It was art on a plate and I didn’t want it to end.

We were really excited for this tasting menu, but from the beginning this didn't compare to other fine dining in Boston. When we entered the host looked my partner up and down, which made us both feel a bit uncomfortable. We weren't presented with any menu and some dishes were dropped off with extremely quiet and curt descriptions. We're used to knowledgeable staff, but when asked about the champagne our server couldn't tell us anything. I think it was free because today is new Year's Eve, but it would be nice to be told about what we have. When we were presented with our first dish of oyster dressing and asked for more info we were told "it's stuffing" which felt like talking down to us while not giving us any more information. The service was relatively mixed, with some people feeling pretentious or uncaring, and some really kind. I'm very thankful for the kind servers. The food was all very good! Just not quite the quality or novelty I'd expect at $125/person. The oyster dressing was tasty, it felt a bit like oysters Rockefeller presented in a new way. The turnip soup was a bit bland, except the single ravioli which was filled with an amazing marmite butter that had all the salt and umami the soup was missing. If it was presented with care we might've mixed the contents of the ravioli into the soup (or several smaller ravioli would've been nice), but the experience we got was a vaguely bland soup with a single very powerful and tasty bite. The sweet potato, passion fruit, and tuna was interesting. The earthiness of the raw sweet potato and the sweetness of the cooked potato with the acidity of the passion fruit worked quite nicely. The tuna got lost in everything else, it didn't have much texture or flavor. It was probably the most novel savory dish. I can go on, but generally speaking the dishes felt like they needed something a little more and/or had ingredients they didn't need. Overall, the food was good but not for this price and the service felt very hit or miss. I'd come back at a lower price point, but certainly wouldn't return or recommend it based on my experience tonight.

Tasting Counter offers a unique dining experience in an ultra-modern setting with an open kitchen. Chef-owner Peter Ungar and his wife, Ginhee Ungar, have introduced TC@Home, a series of virtual interactive dining experiences where guests can learn to make dishes like rabbit-stuffed agnolotti via Zoom. The restaurant also features a wine bar with a selection of organic and biodynamic bottles at modest prices.
Tasting Counter really lives up to the hype. I was absolutely floored by the quality of food, the innovativeness of menu, and the service at this restaurant. First off, we took a friend here for her birthday, and she has a shellfish allergy and fish sensitivity. They communicated with me extensively the week before over text to develop a menu specifically for her, which was just so thoughtful and appreciated. Next, the wine, sake, and beer pairings are just brilliant. I don't usually get alcoholic pairings with my tasting menus but this time, I was so glad of the pairings. They were wonderfully curated, and in terms of the beers, oftentimes local—so I got to try an array of the new and the familiar. Finally, the food just blew me away. My wife said she liked it better than ABaC in Barcelona, it was that good. They make really great use of fresh, seafood ingredients, and the entrees were light enough that you didn't feel weighed down by the course after course after course delivery. As alluded to, service was excellent. Ambiance was also really nice, although part of me wished the seats weren't *quite* so far apart—sometimes, conversation across the bar layout was a little challenging. Overall, 13/10 recommend this truly lovely and highly fancy dining experience!

The good: beautiful atmosphere. The service was courteous and outstanding. Everything was top-notch quality. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. You indeed get what you pay for. Most foods are more western flavored (French, Italian, etc…). There were many flavors I never knew existed, so it was eye-opening. It deserved 5 stars, and I highly recommend it!! The not-so-good: I have a heavy pallet. I normally enjoy Chinese, Indian or African cuisines. Unfortunately, western food does not satisfy my tastebuds. Even so, I was not disappointed by this experience because that’s only personal preference!

Very good tasting experience that did not disappoint. If I had to nitpick, it was not the most imaginative or creative menu compared to similar chef's counter experiences at that price point. However, they use high-quality, gourmet ingredients and execute them into great flavors in all of the dishes. The service experience was top-notch as well.

Tasting Counter is a fantastic restaurant! They offer a unique dining experience that combines delicious food, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they do a great job of making you feel welcome and comfortable. The tasting menu is a great way to experience the full range of what Tasting Counter has to offer. Each course is carefully crafted and beautifully presented, and the flavors are always interesting and unexpected. The wine pairings are also excellent, and really enhance the overall dining experience. Overall, I would highly recommend Tasting Counter to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is fun and lively. It's definitely a must-visit spot in Boston!

UPDATE (12/14/2021 - a few years and another 8 or 9 dinners later): Tasting Counter quickly became my favorite Boston restaurant and it has stayed in that spot ever since. Consistently fantastic experiences, the restaurant has matured into a well oiled machine for whimsical and fun experiences, as well as amazing food. I am also adding more photos from my other visits there, as the food really deserves it. ORIGINAL REVIEW Unique experience that stands out in the crowded Boston food scene. Fine dining is getting re-defined in an intimate setup, where diners sit along a spacious u-shaped bar, overlooking the preparations of the kitchen staff. The reservations are done via the trendy ticket approach, which I happen to like very much. The ticket is inclusive of all costs, including drink pairings. The dinner itself was awesome, very well paced, with artful plating and great course progression and drink pairings (12 or so courses in total, counting all amuse-bouches). The flavors were simple (but never simplistic), sophisticated and focused on highlighting one or two ingredients at a time, instead of assaulting the palate. The experience felt clean and light and very satisfactory - i.e you leave full and happy, instead of stuffed and hating yourself. This approach is reminiscent of Asta (Boston), Atera (NYC), Oriole (Chicago), Minibar (DC) to name a few other places for reference. The drink pairing was great (we chose wine, although sake and non-alcoholic options were also available). The wines were unique, from small independent producers and complemented the dinner well. Dietary restriction requests were taken into consideration and thoughtfully fulfilled. Have to mention the staff as well - very professional and thoughtful, working very well together under the sharp eye of chef Ungár. This was a refreshing and delicious experience, which has now made us fans of Tasting Counter and thus we will be back for more.

Quite the experience! You can tell that all the chefs take pride in what they do and it leads to an incredible meal spread over 13 or so courses although they claim it to be 9 there are a few bonuses thrown in! The drink pairing go very well, I chose the mock tail option as I don’t drink alcohol but the people next to us said they quite enjoyed the spirit options as well! The venison was out of this world! Definitely a place to check out!

Very unique experience! You feel very exclusive as the chef is right in front of you introducing the dishes and how & what it was made. We had 3 course lunch with wine pairing. Definitely worth a detour! However if you don’t like fast pace dining then you might find this place is a bit rushing you up as you only have 1 hour dining time.
Joan H — Google review
Went to Tasting Counter for their 3-course lunch menu with wine pairing, a great steal for $95 (now $110 as of July 1, still sensible regardless). All courses were delicately prepared, the sea bass was just steamed right and pairs well with the charred & fermented white asparagus. The dessert and petit fours left a great impression on me. Wines are largely led by natural wines.

Fine dining restaurant
Rare Steakhouse at Encore Boston Harbor is a sophisticated and exclusive dining destination that offers traditional and Japanese-style cuts of beef, along with a selection of cocktails. The restaurant boasts the only authentic beef program of Japanese Wagyu in New England, as well as domestic beef from Snake River Farms in Idaho and LaFrieda Meats. Additionally, it features locally farmed produce and dairy, as well as freshly caught seafood.
Amazing food. The desserts are mind blowing. Service wasn’t terrible but server seemed constantly in a rush and often forgot things. Complementary wine was given due to long wait times for dessert. Server also never asked if we wanted dessert and brought the check before asking. Atmosphere is elegant and comfortable. 40 oz tomahawk was very good. Drinks were great as well. Overall I would rate this restaurant 9.4/10

A beautiful restaurant with an impeccable team; attentive and friendly! 10/10 Food 9/10 We ordered NY Steak and Filet Mignon medium, and they were cooked to the perfect temperature, only lacking a bit of salt I have nothing to complain about, but unfortunately, I found it way overpriced. People could enjoy it more if the price were fairer, paying for the meat only, without having to pay for sides… $26 for a salad… Anyway, the restaurant is wonderful, but the menu isn’t worth the price I know restaurants of the same level with fair prices, where you can enjoy starters and main dishes more. I’m a cook at a restaurant in Newburyport MA, so I know what I’m talking about I’m saying this without offending anyone, just giving my honest feedback Thank you!

Went to the encore casino location for my birthday and had an amazing experience! From the atmosphere, to the workers and the food. All 10/10. Everyone from the hosts to the ones who delivered the food were amazing and super friendly. Nothing seemed rushed and everything came out perfect in regard to the steaks we ordered. It was a little on the expensive side but worth every dollar spent! They gave me a free desert and card for my birthday as well which was so nice of them! 100/10 recommend!

Tonino is a highly sought-after restaurant in Jamaica Plain, known for its wonderful food, inviting atmosphere, and friendly staff. The establishment offers quick and delicious homemade dishes that are perfect for sharing. The decor seamlessly blends modern and cozy elements with elegant Art Deco accents, creating a unique ambiance. With strong yet flavorful drinks and delectable offerings like pizza, bread, and tiramisu, Tonino has become a favorite dining spot in Boston.
Had an incredible experience here - lived up to the hype based off the cappelletti alone. It is a MUST, I’ve never had a pasta experience like it before. The pizza Bianca is not a pizza, beware, it’s hot delicious bread. The ricotta and eggplant caponata we ordered with the pizza Bianca highly recommend. The tomato salad and mushroom pasta (lumache) were good, but not standouts. The tagliolini aglio olio pomodoro we wouldn’t get again (still delicious, but there’s better on the menu). Tiramisu is a MUST. Best I’ve ever had. Incredible and kind service!! Worth the stress to get a reservation
Cami T — Google review
The pepperoni pizza slice with hot honey: nothing special. The bread was crispy and delicious, but the toppings were underwhelming. The sauce was perfectly tangy, but there wasn't enough of it, or the cheese. I also wish the pizza had come out more hot. Servers are very attentive here. I did notice that a lot of people with reservations were being asked to wait for a while to be seated. The small space is definitely the issue. Mushroom pasta - the mushrooms were meaty, pasta perfectly cooked, parsley was fresh and aromatic, and contrary to popular opinion, the portion size perfect (not sure if it was just this dish). However, it was a little saltier than I liked. I will say, it's nothing to write home about. Cocktail - I got the Bergamot Blush and it was delicious, strong, not too sweet, and very citrus forward. Overall, I think the food here is unnecessarily overpriced. While I would not come back here for the food, I might return for a cocktail in 3 years when I can finally get another reservation.

Amazing restaurant experience! Everything I've had has been great and left wanting to come back. The waitress went above and beyond helping us with wine and aperitif picks. Small restaurant, can be hard to get a reservation but definitely worth it.

Incredibly good in all respects. We've loved every dish across multiple visits. If for some crazy reason you're only ordering one pasta, pick the bucatini with chili anchovy butter and bottarga. Save room for the tiramisu, which is made using amaro (Meletti I believe), dark chocolate, and sea salt -- this combo balances out what in most other restaurants would be a cloyingly sweet dessert.

UNREAL. Every time I go to Tonino it’s a 10/10 experience. The food is absolutely incredible...easily the best Italian in Boston, and their specials never miss. The entire staff is warm, professional, and so attentive. Special shoutout to the lovely Taylor, who always makes the experience even better. I recently had my birthday dinner there, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate multiple dietary restrictions and food allergies. Every single one of my friends left raving about the meal and is already trying to book a reservation to go back. I seriously can’t recommend them enough!

We waited 2 months to get a reservation at this legendary Italian spot in the middle of Jamaica Plain. It wasn't worth the 2 month wait. I must add that our server was FANTASTIC. She was kind, attentive and immensely knowledgeable about the wines and menu. We just needed the food to be ½ as brilliant as she was. The bread sticks (Pizza Bianca) were good and the cheesy dip was worth the wait. The pizzas and pastas however, were painfully mid at best. We ordered the Cacio e Pepe, which is a Secret item available only upon request. When it came, the sauce was breaking apart and the dish was a little dull and lack a cheesy punch. We loved the Cheesecake but the Pina Colada and Tiramisu was boring. I feel the 2 month wait probably worked against the restaurant — after such a long wait, I think we expected way too much and it certainly did not meet expectations.

Tonino was a gem! Delicious food and wonderful service. I enjoyed the pasta, Pizza Bianca and tiramisu. I will say, though, try Via Cannuci nearby. Less hype, but IMO it’s equally delicious and much easier to get into. Leave extra time to find parking!

Tonino has been one of the hardest reservations to snag in Boston, so our expectations were sky-high—and it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is tiny, warm, and inviting, with carefully chosen art and soft lighting that create a charming, intimate vibe, and kind staff with amazing service. From start to finish, everything we had lived up to the hype. We started with both salads on the menu: the Trevisano and the Tomato. The Trevisano was tangy in the best way, while the Tomato Salad was even more impressive—fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced with stone fruit, tomatoes, and Fresno peppers. For mains, we tried the Pepperoni and Honey pizza, along with three pastas: Lumache with mushrooms, Cappelletti, and Bucatini with chili-anchovy butter. The pizza slice is served in two pieces, made on house-made focaccia, giving it a texture reminiscent of an elevated, crunchier Sicilian style. The sauce was beautifully balanced and paired perfectly with the spicy-sweet combination of hot honey and pepperoni. The Cappelletti was the star of the night—rich, cheesy, and elevated by a touch of aged balsamic that cut through perfectly. The Bucatini came in a very close second. Despite not usually loving anchovies, we were blown away by how harmoniously the flavors came together, with the chili butter adding heat and the breadcrumbs providing a satisfying crunch. The Lumache, while good, felt a little one-note compared to the others. Desserts were just as impressive. The ricotta cheesecake was incredibly fluffy and light, and while the panna cotta could have been a bit firmer in texture, the flavor was outstanding. The fennel and Snapdragon apple on top made for a delightful finishing touch. P.S , don’t sleep on the amazing tea selection they have, we tried the Yuzu genmaicha tea and it was delicious! Tonino might just be the best Italian restaurant in Boston right now, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it earn Michelin recognition this November. We’ll absolutely be back—if we can manage to get another reservation!

Lenox Sophia is an upscale eatery owned by chef Shi Mei, who has honed his skills at renowned establishments like The French Laundry and Bouchon. With a limited number of seats in its cozy dining area, this restaurant offers prix-fixe menus that feature a variety of delectable dishes.
Excellent dining experience. The pea dish was an absolute show stopper and the lamb was a 10/10. Service was great and the atmosphere is very cool as you practically feel like you're hanging in the chefs elevated living room. Overall the food is amazing. Could nit pick a few things from a couple dishes, scallops seemed a bit low quality and the dish flavors didn't mesh well, the duck was a bit chewy, but nit picks for what was overall an excellent dinner.

We have been to this restaurant a few times before but it's our first visit during the winter months. The restaurant felt cold inside and our experience was made worse since we were seated right next to the door. Every time diners entered or exited the small restaurant, cold air rushed in. We had to order hot tea to keep ourselves a little warmer. The overall meal felt lacking in flavor, though well cooked. The one scallop in the first course was tiny. If only one scallop is in a dish, it should at least be a reasonable size to call it a course and not an amuse-bouche. The honeynut squash dish was interesting, though it was served cold, which didn't help our need for warmth. There were three small pieces of octopus in the tomato stew. The stew itself tasted mostly of just tomatoes. The menu didn't mention that the duck was a confit. We had assumed that it would be slices of duck breast. When asked about this after the plate was served, the waiter said that it depended on what parts of the duck is still available on that day. Since we don't generally like the confit texture, we didn't enjoy this dish much. Had we known this ahead of time, we would have opted for the fish option. Lastly, the cornbread in the dessert was a very small piece and was very dry and crumbly. We didn't care for this at all. We didn't have a good night here. We had enjoyed previous meals at this restaurant before and were looking forward to this one but the meal didn't satisfy and the cold temperature didn't help. The wait staff, however, was great, very friendly and polite. One of them kept checking to make sure that the outside door was closed to not let in more cold air. We appreciated that.

Definitely worth trying at least once or for a special occasion, but don’t come too hungry. I am loathe to give anything less than 5 stars because the service we received was simply outstanding and considerate, but I’m a reviewer who weights the food more heavily than other elements. Regarding the outstanding service: The restaurant staff stayed late because our group simply couldn’t stop chatting plus they let a member of our group who has celiac join us to eat even though he couldn’t participate in the tasting menu. On the food: We had some very delicious bites but not every dish hit. The scallop amuse bouche was very delicious, as was my hake (fish) main. Unfortunately, some of the other dishes such as the seafood squid ink pasta tasted bland and the dessert and pea puree dishes were forgettable. Reflecting on the meal, I also feel that it lacked some cohesion between dishes. Another thing to note: portions are modest, so don’t come very hungry. My partner heated up a TJ‘s meal when we got home. All in all, I would still suggest giving it a try because it’s a unique concept in Boston (esp with BYOB) despite the fact that the meal as a whole didn’t knock my socks off.

enjoyed my meal at Lenox Sophia. The restaurant is a small intimate place and I had nice conversations with the owner and the other chef while they cooked. Super nice guys. Food is made with simple ingredients but is very fresh and well executed. I plan to eat here again when the menu shifts to the autumn ingredients. I suggest trying this place out for the friendly staff and to see how simple ingredients with good execution can equal great food. Scallop ceviche- came on a potato square which was nice and crunchy on outside and tender on inside. Came with a nice acidic sauce. Scallop was nice and tender. 4/5 Pea custard- delicious. Nice vegetative flavor flavor with just a hint of salt. The custard was nice and velvety. The whole peas had a nice bite and added good texture. 5/5 Rice and peas with crawfish- very simple. Scallions or green onion added a nice flavor. The rice was nicely cooked. The crawfish was nicely cooked too. 4/5 Lamb shoulder perfectly cooked. A Delicious savory sauce. Mushrooms added nice flavor as well 5/5 Strawberry pound cake. This was a light dessert. It was not as moist as I would have liked and was a little too light on flavor- in my opinion . Left a bit to be desired. 3.5/5

Always an amazing experience at Lenox Sophia. The duck press was incredibly impressive—both in presentation and in flavor. It’s rare to find a restaurant that blends classic French techniques with such elegance and creativity. Every course was executed with precision, and the ingredients were clearly top-tier. Every dish showcased its own unique flair and creativity, but the roasted duck breast truly stole the spotlight—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. From start to finish, the meal was exceptional. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Mamma Maria is an upscale Italian restaurant located in a historic townhouse in Boston's North End. Despite its name, the restaurant offers refined Italian cuisine with a focus on local ingredients. The elegant dining room overlooks North Square and provides a romantic setting for enjoying classic dishes such as beef carpaccio, pappardelle pasta with rabbit ragu, terrine of suckling pig, veal osso buco, and various seafood options sourced from local waters.
Mamma Maria was a great experience. The ambiance is elegant and welcoming, it really feels like dining in a beautiful Italian home in Boston. We had a table outside and the perfect weather made it even better. The food was excellent. We started with calamari and octopus, both fresh and flavorful. For the main courses we had scallops and meat pasta. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of taste. The service stood out. Nico at the front was classy and very professional. Eric the manager was kind and accommodating. The kitchen did make a small mistake with one allergy request, but they apologized right away and took it off the bill which I really appreciated. This is a great spot for fantastic Italian food that I would gladly recommend for anyone who enjoys authentic food at very fair prices.

Our dinner at Mama Maria's was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the moment we interacted with the staff to our last bite, every detail was perfection. Our evening started with a transportation mishap, causing us to arrive a full 30 minutes late for our reservation. We called ahead, and the staff couldn't have been more gracious or accommodating. They welcomed us warmly, took our coats, and showed us to our table without a hint of frustration. Soon after, the manager approached us with a thoughtful offer: a better table by the window, with the simple request that we finish by a certain time. We gladly accepted. The setting was beautiful, with a window-side view, gorgeous old-world wallpaper, and an ambiance that felt both elegant and intimate. We started with cocktails—a crisp Sicilian Mule and perfectly made dirty martinis. They arrived with the best bread service I've ever encountered, featuring delicious olives and a flavorful pesto spread that set the stage for the meal to come. For our starter, we chose the short rib bison gnocchi. The presentation was stunning, with the gnocchi seasonally crafted into adorable pumpkin shapes. The flavor, however, surpassed even the stellar presentation. It was simply superb. The entrees continued to impress. We ordered the lobster agnolotti and the pasta con sugo. The lobster agnolotti was a delightful surprise—light and delicate, served in a deeply flavored onion broth rather than a typical heavy cream sauce. It was a truly remarkable dish. The pasta con sugo was the complete opposite but equally wonderful; it felt like a grandmother's hug in a bowl—comforting, rich, and lovely. Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. This meal is one I will remember for a long time. If anyone ever asks me about my favorite dinner ever, my answer will be Mama Maria's in the North End. It was an unforgettable experience.

We loved it here! We had a really nice waitress “ Raluka” she walked us through everything, we ordered cocktails “ mule” one was awesome. For starter we ordered poke and it was beautiful and well designed! The food was good too! They brought “ bread and pesto” which was on the house! And for dessert we had pistachios tiramisu , so creamy and rich in flavors! 10 out of 10! Only problem is finding parking lot , and u might do valet parking !

We walked by and asked for a table outside, in a scenic view of Italian surroundings, and stayed to enjoy tasty entries, main dish and special treats. Loved the fresh taste of the Cinghiale Gnocchi and Burrata al Tartuffo as shared starters. The Lobster Agnolotti Pasta with triple colours was delicious, and a large portion. Ending the evening with strawberry tiramisu, a week’s special in May, made it a perfect dinner with a friend. Staff were super-friendly and attentive, especially when it started raining, immediately offering another table under an umbrella.

An impeccable rainy day early dinner. We didn’t have a reservation but the host was able to give us a table for two when they opened at 5. The ambiance was cozy and relaxing, service warm and attractive, and the food just wows you with the first bite. We look forward to coming back here to try other dishes.

Visited the vibrant and popular North End in Boston. I chose this restaurant based off reviews and overall was very pleased with the restaurant. Very good food and atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was exceptional but maybe I expect another step at this price range. Also be a little clearer on your dress code. Im a casual guy so I ate dinner with messy hair as well as several other customers.

We were very lucky today when we arrived here at the time they are opening and we sit in the bar. The bartenders Carlos and Iran were amazing. They know the menu very well and gave us good recommendations. We started with the Baked Oysters and Carpaccio as appetizers. Wagyu steak and Rabbit pasta are delicious too. We give 5 stars to this place.

The Capital Grille is an upscale steakhouse chain known for its classic American cuisine and refined setting. Located at the corner of Boylston and Dalton Streets, this national steakhouse group offers a sophisticated dining experience with dark interiors and plush seating. The restaurant also features sidewalk seating with a light and airy ambiance, complete with clear paneling for privacy and beautiful outdoor decor.
We had dinner at The Capital Grille near Hynes Convention Center for a graduation. The place looks elegant and classy. Many people were also there to celebrate. The staff were friendly and professional. They served tasty bread and butter before the meal. We had the Jumbo Lump Crab Cocktail and Filet Mignon — both were delicious. The wine was also very good. It’s a great spot for special occasions with amazing food and service.

August 1st (lunch). I wanted to bring my wife to Boston as this was her first time here. I did some prior research and decided to try Capital Grille. We were politely greeted by one the hostesses and ( I forget her name) she led us to our table with genuine care. Our waiter that day was Andrew and he was delightful to deal with. Going thru the menu and giving us recommendations! As you can see by the pictures we tried a few things. I loved the New England Clam chowder and the Lobster Bisque. Our entrees were excellent as we got the Seared Salmon! Loved the dessert choices and Andrew was always attentive and made sure everything was up to our liking. We are from New Jersey and I believe we made quite an impression, in a good way! Highly recommend this amazing restaurant!!

From beginning to end, the service was impeccable! Our waiter Nick Austin, was fantastic! His suggestions and recommendations were spot on. We started with a grilled peach burrata salad & French onion soup. Both of which were filled with flavor and zest. Our meals…left me speechless. The filet and chicken breasts were juicy, tender and perfected with the au gratin and asparagus sides. We celebrated my birthday and they brought out a petite dessert of cheesecake and chocolate cake. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Food: 8/10. Service was outstanding! I’ve been in Boston for eight years and tried many dining restaurants, and this place truly has the best service I’ve ever experienced. Everyone was genuinely kind—not just polite on the surface like in many other restaurants—and the attention to detail was exceptional. I had such a wonderful birthday here. I hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy a meal at this restaurant and experience their thoughtful service.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant The Capital Grille in Boston MA, USA. A magnificent steakhouse with a warm, wood-paneled ambiance and truly majestic dining rooms. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional — attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely caring throughout the entire evening. They even surprised me with a beautifully presented dessert for my birthday, which was a wonderful touch. We tried a wide range of dishes, and every single one was outstanding. The lobster-and-steak combination was superb, the lobster thermidor-style specialty was perfectly prepared, and the thick-cut grilled bacon was excellent. The calamari were tender and flavorful, and the crab cake was beautifully executed. We finished with a rich chocolate tart, the perfect ending to a remarkable meal. This is the kind of restaurant where you can order anything on the menu with confidence — everything is delicious and impeccably prepared. I did not pay for the meal, but given the central Boston location and the level of quality, I imagine the prices are on the higher side. That said, the superb service and consistently excellent dishes fully justify the cost. An outstanding dining experience. Highly recommended for special occasions or anyone looking to enjoy one of Boston’s top steakhouses.

Yet another Dine Out Boston experience - this time for August 2025. The prix fixe menu has not changed since my last visit, in terms of price ($55) or substance. I went with 3 friends (party of 4) and had a reservation at 7pm on a Wednesday. The place was packed, but after checking at 7 sharp, I got seated in < 10 minutes. I ended up getting - Field Greens Salad - Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged NY Strip (+$12) - Mashed Potatoes - Creamed Spinach - Creme Brulee The salad seemed fresh and well-dressed. The parm vinaigrette expressed itself as a savory saltiness, with more depth than simply salt. The NY strip, which I ordered medium rare, arrived with the textbook coloration. Notably, the sear's brown did not gradually transition into the warm red center, rather it stopped abruptly. This proved quite the testament to consistency, given that it matched multiple previous experiences. The creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, served family style for my party of 4, tasted quite satisfactory (read: more cream and butter and vegetable or potato). This time, I actually had enough room to consume my dessert. The flourless chocolate cake wasn't overly dense or powdery - a pitfall of these sorts. Nor was it too dense.

Bricco is a sophisticated restaurant in the North End, offering modern Italian cuisine, cocktails, and late-night brick-oven pizza. The restaurant sources its breads, fresh pastas, and meats from an old-world panetteria and salumeria next door. It is part of a mini North End empire with an extended-stay pensione above it and several other eateries in the neighborhood.
We had the absolute best time dining here! The food was authentic, flavorful, and truly excellent from start to finish. What made the night even more special was our amazing waiter, Vuvu. Great meal! This is the second time we've eaten at Bricco in the last 3 years and it did not disappoint. We took our friends who were traveling with us. We had a 6:16pm reservation for a Saturday night in September and the place was super busy. We checked in and got seated right away - upstairs. I knew my wife wouldn't be happy with having climb the stairs but what was nice up there was that it was much less noisier than the main level. Alex was our server and she was fun and great. We started with drinks and the included bread. Two of us had wine and two of us had Old-fashioneds. They muddle their fruit here. Not my preference but it the drinks ended up being 'okay'. The bread was soft and the spreads offered were tasty. We ordered our dinners as follows: - Beef Short Rib on Mashed Potatoes (I subbed the potatoes as polenta was standard) - Sea Bass on a Potato Cake - 8oz Beef Tenderloin Filet - Salmon - Side: Creamed Parmesan Spinach - Side: Roasted Brussels Sprouts - Side: Gnocchi with Lobster My Beef Short Rib was amazingly tender and tasty. My wife's Sea Bass was probably the best her or I have ever had. The preparation was unusual and amazing. My friend's Beef Filet was so tasty and tender - likely Prime grade. I did try my friend's wife's Salmon but she enjoyed it. We were too full to try any of Bricco's dessert but had I had room, I was considering their Bread Pudding. In our experience, reservations are a must for dinner at Bricco. If you're going all out, each ordering their own meal and some sides, it's going to be $$$. Knowing that going it - it was an amazing meal.

Outstanding meal at Bricco. We made reservations for four of us to celebrate a birthday and Bricco did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly upon arrival (Mason, consummate host and manager!) And shown to a table in the middle of the dining room. While the tables are close, it did not feel like the other tables were intruding on our experience. The wife's Farfalle Tartufate was delicious, but the notable dishes at the table were the Veal Ossobuco and the Pappardelle al Chinghale. Both dishes were expertly prepared and melted in your mouth. My Mediterranean Salad was perfectly cool and crisp. Capping off the meal was a wonderful Bread Pudding, a type of Banana Fosters and a round of Sambucca. We never felt rushed, the table service was excellent, and the overall ambiance was warm and homey. Well done Bricco for a special night!

Traditional Italian cuisine with excellent food and super friendly staff in a beautiful scenery. Every little detail made the stay most enjoyable - entering the restaurant with classic dark furniture, small stairs to reach a large dining room for our group of 20 people, that inviting Italian busy-ness, enjoying life … and on top of that, tasty wine and delicious food, with our waiter remembering every order, and where it is to be served, at the same time, 20 times. Thanks for the amazing experience!

If you're going to come to the North End I do not recommend this restaurant. I was not asked what I want to drink for over 10 minutes . The prices are medium. They gave bread it was cold and the dips had no flavor. I ordered filet mignon which was actually good, asparagus was overcooked. I ordered a lobster gnocchi is there looks very sloppy wet with absolutely no flavor, i returned it and got gnocchi with tomato sauce which was actually good. The espresso Martini was good. Creme brule was good. If you want traditional Italian this is not the place.

been to this place a couple of times mostly for business and both ourselves and our guests just love the food and wine selections! too bad they don't serve duck breast anymore (I'm still going to post the photo though) great food and the view is just dynamite....love everything we ordered, from appetizer to desserts and wines...so good! Worth of the money we spent!

An enjoyable experience at Del Frisco during Boston Restaurant Week. We had plenty of food. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary bread for its balance of sweet and buttery. The lobster bisque is slightly salty though still flavorful. The steak was definitely the highlight, perfectly cooked to taste, paired with the delicious garlic butter. I do wish they included the steak with some sides. The salmon was unfortunately underwhelming, if not slightly dry. As for desserts, the butter cake was too sweet, and the cake itself was so hard that it required force to crack. The chocolate mousse was quite good, as it's hard to go wrong there. Overall, there was some hit or miss there with some of the food items, but I did enjoy my evening there - perhaps w good company.

Enjoyed our steaks and sides. The yummy butter cake topped with ice cream and whipped cream recommended by Yago, made the end of our evening very nice. Yago was very attentive and great at making suggestions for our meal. The only downfall of the restaurant was it being a bit noisy, making our dinner conversations difficult.

Rob G — Google review
Our server was good but the food was mostly not good. The crab cake I'll give you, was good. The lobster roll was terrible. It was crispy lobster. The waiter said its because it was cooked in clarified butter, i told him that if thats the case then they had the butter way to hot and it's burnt. Burnt is burnt regardlessof the cooking process. He brought it back to show the kitchen and manager but nothing was done about it. My steak was also under done. I order medium and got medium rare and the server said thats usually how medium looks.. Medium is a temp, not a look. And the sweet bread they bring in the beginning is absolutely loaded with butter, dripping. I didnt like it and the table next to us complained as well. Highly disappointing visit. I didnt expect no comps but a visit from the manager or cook would have made it seem like they cared. But nothing. Would not waste my money here again.

Nestled charmingly behind the Boston Library, this restaurant offers a unique setting with its triangular space and soaring high ceilings. We found the window seats to be especially pleasant. For starters, we opted for the Caesar salad, which was well-executed, and the tuna tartare. My husband quite liked the tuna, though I personally found the wasabi a bit too prominent for my liking. For our pasta courses, the ravioli was delicious, and the special of the day, a homemade fettuccine with mushrooms, was quite tasty. My husband's ribeye steak was impressively large, accompanied by a generous serving of grilled asparagus and creamy mashed potatoes – so substantial we couldn't quite finish it, leaving no space for dessert. We were especially pleased with our server, who was very friendly and attentive throughout the evening. This visit provided a good experience for us.

Sorrelina has a lovely, intimate ambiance, but overall the experience fell short of expectations. The service was fine. There was plenty of attentive staff, but nothing particularly memorable. The tuna tartare had potential, though the horseradish overpowered the delicate flavor of the fish. I was a bit disappointed they didn’t have fettuccine, so I opted for the cavatellini with Bolognese, while my friend had the potato gnocchi with Maine lobster. Both dishes were decent but not standout. Dessert was the cioccolato, which was nice, and we paired it with a rum coconut cocktail and a Caribbean rum which were both quite good. The highlight of the meal, surprisingly, was the bread 🍞 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 Absolutely spectacular. Overall, a cute spot, but the food and service didn’t quite live up to the hype. Had the best company though so I’m rating this place a little higher. 7/10

Oleana, located in Cambridge, is a renowned restaurant founded by award-winning Chef Ana Sortun in 2001. The warm and inviting interior or peaceful garden patio provide the perfect setting to enjoy inventive Eastern Mediterranean dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients. Oleana's kitchen has been a mainstay of the Cambridge dining scene and has received numerous accolades for its bold fusion of Middle Eastern flavors in small plates.
The food and service were excellent. We maybe a little too close to our neighbor diners. We can hear all their conversations. I do recommend booking in advance. It was a full house by 7pm on a Friday night. I really love the garden salad and bake Alaska dessert. Those two items were really a unique take on something commonplace. All the other dishes were great too!

Pretty pricy. Spent $100 for 2 people. They have a rotating menu but if its there, i would recommend the sultan’s delight. The short rib was super soft but not overcooked and too greasy. I thought everything else was pretty standard. Not bad, but not mind blowing or worth the price. The atmosphere and service i would say reflect the high cost.
C민아 — Google review
Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean-inspired small plates restaurant with a lovely ambiance and great service — but for me, the food overall was just okay. We ordered quite a few dishes to sample the variety, and while some stood out, others didn’t quite hit the mark. Zaatar Bread: The date butter that came with it was mind-blowing — honestly the best part of the meal. The whipped goat cheese wasn’t for me, but that’s more of a personal preference. Ricotta & Corn Dumplings: Very mild and soothing, but the texture felt a little sticky. Wouldn’t be my top recommendation unless you like that soft, sticky feel. Fatteh: Their best seller — and I can see why. Definitely a creative twist on the traditional version and pretty flavorful. Dark Leafy Greens: Cooked in a garlicky something that reminded me of an Indian home-style dish. Loved this one — comforting and familiar. Spinach Falafel: The beet tzatziki was nice, but the falafel itself felt gooey and undercooked. Baked Alaska: Got this to go since we were too full, but it’s apparently their star dessert. Midnight Ramble (cocktail): Too icy for my taste, but still refreshing and nicely balanced. Service was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and efficient. Parking is available right across the street, and the Central Red Line station is close by if you’re coming by train. We went on a Sunday night, and the only reservation available was at 8:30, which says a lot about how popular the place is. If you’re going with two people, I’d suggest starting with four small plates and ordering more if you’re still hungry. Overall, a nice experience, but for me, it didn’t fully live up to the hype.

We made a reservation a month ago. I was really curious to know why the reservation slots fill up so fast, and what all the hype is about. This place really lives up to its hype. Small, cozy and intimate setting, that serves robust flavours. I fell in love with each dish I had. For me, all the flavors blending in my mouth was a new experience. The different flavors were intense and balanced. The portions are small but they will leave your heart content. Our favourite was Sultan’s Delight and Vermont Quail Kebab, but the other three dishes we got were fantastic too. We’d definitely visit them again.

Za’tar bread and fatten were definitely my favorite. I enjoyed all the dishes. Especially the meat ones, wasn’t the biggest fan of their shrimp but seething else especially the baked Alaska and lamb were phenomenal.

Wonderful wonderful dinner location! We arrived right when it opened with a reservation for 5:30, and we were placed at the tables next to the garden. The style is a bit more traditional, and the flavors are incredible! My personal favorite dish was the Shrimp, but the spinach falafel was heavenly, and I don’t know if I can’t have any average falafels again 😢

I had dinner at Olena in Cambridge and was really impressed. The restaurant has a simple and unpretentious vibe — nothing flashy, just a clean and comfortable space where the focus is clearly on the food. It feels welcoming and calm, perfect for a relaxed evening out. We chose the Chef’s Choice of Vegetable Meze and Dessert, and it was absolutely worth it. A series of small, vegetable-centered dishes came out one by one, each well-seasoned and carefully prepared. There was a good balance of warm and cold plates, different textures, and interesting flavors. Even without any meat or fish, the meal felt thoughtful and satisfying. You could tell the kitchen puts effort into getting the details right. I also ordered a cocktail, and it was excellent — well-balanced, not too sweet, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The drinks menu isn’t overly long, but what they offer is crafted with the same care as the food. Service was smooth and friendly — present when needed, but never pushy. Our server explained the dishes briefly and kept the pace of the meal just right. Dessert was a few small sweet bites, not heavy, but just enough to end the night on a good note. I’ll definitely return. Olena is a gem for anyone who enjoys plant-forward food, great drinks, and a relaxed, no-pressure dining experience.

My favorite restaurant in the state, one of the best foodie experiences ever! The Fatteh is heavenly, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is welcoming and attentive, and they have a convenient parking area as well. The baked Alaska is incredible.

Bistro du Midi is a French restaurant located in Boston, offering a delightful dining experience with two distinct atmospheres. The downstairs cafe exudes Parisian vibes with its checkered floors and yellow rattan barstools, while the upstairs area provides an elegant setting with views of the Public Garden. Known for its extensive and satisfying brunch menu, the restaurant serves up Instagram-worthy dishes like petit dejeuner flatbread and duck confit 'foieffles'.
We had our wedding reception at Bistro du Midi on 6/15/2025 and we had an incredible experience! Catherine was so easy to work with and made sure everything was in place for the day. She also put us in contact with AV support, so we had great music and lighting for the dancefloor. The food and drinks were amazing and the team was even able to add a custom logo to the menus. The pastry team was also able to create a beautiful custom cake. Absolutely a 10/10 experience from start to finish. Would absolutely recommend! Thanks again to the staff and events team :)

A Taste of Paris in the Heart of Boston I visited Bistro du Midi on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and it truly felt like a little slice of Paris in downtown Boston. The location is perfect, right across from the Boston Public Garden and the atmosphere is both charming and serene. I chose to sit in their full outdoor seating area, which was peaceful, beautifully decorated with flowers, and shaded by large umbrellas, perfect for a warm day. The restaurant also offers a cozy indoor-outdoor section that gives you the comfort of indoor seating with the breeze and vibe of being outside, such a nice touch if you're looking for shade and a more relaxed feel. Inside, there's also a downstairs bar and a private dining room upstairs for more intimate gatherings. For food, I had the chopped salad with shrimp and the mushroom flatbread; both were absolutely delicious, fresh, and came out quickly. The service was attentive and kind, and the entire experience felt effortless and elevated. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Bistro du Midi is the perfect place to slow down, enjoy delicious French cuisine, and soak in the beauty of the city. Highly recommend.

It was our anniversary weekend, so we went all out and had the tasting menu with the wine pairings. It was fabulous! The food was well prepared and artistically presented. The wine pairings were not all the obvious choices but really complimented the food.

Excellent restaurant with a good selection of dishes. The french onion soup was very good but it was the chicken schnitzel dish that really impressed me. Good portion sizes and attentive staff. This is a nice venue to meet with friends and have a good chat with a good meal. Fair price for the quality of the food and venue.

Stopped by for lunch. Just in time. The atmosphere is light and open. Very nice 1960s cafe music in the background. Let’s talk about the great service. Professional, & attentive without being over-present. This is a great highlight that makes the menu really stand out. For lunch we had the Prix Fixe Onion Soup, Bouchon Chicken, a glass of Tatinger and for dessert, Crème brûlée. All excellent. Delicious and timed very well. There was no rushing this lunch, it was very relaxing. Not sure why anyone would mention price. Experience is a value all its own, and Bistro du Midi served us up an outstanding one today.

Hosted a business dinner downstairs for about 20 people and it was great! Passed apps were delicious, the shrimp cocktail were HUGE. We did buffet style for a more casual type dinner but all the drinks and food were great! Staff was all polite and attentive and overall was a good event!

We visited Bistro du Midi on Boylston for weekend lunch as a party of 9 and had a pleasant experience overall. If your group is larger than 9, note that you’ll need to book one of their event rooms by emailing the event manager in advance. Parking in the area can be challenging and expensive on weekends, so plan accordingly. We ordered from the Dine Out menu. For starters, the Sweet Corn Soup and the Arugula & Endive Salad were both fresh and flavorful. For mains, the Grilled Swordfish Sandwich was good, but the Bavette Steak Frites was average — several steaks, especially those requested well-done, were not cooked as ordered and lacked juiciness and flavor. Desserts were the highlight — the crème brûlée, baklava, and pecan gâteau were all delicious and beautifully presented. Our server was friendly and attentive, which made the experience more enjoyable. The atmosphere is calm, cozy, and perfect for spending time with friends or family over a leisurely weekend lunch.

Highly recommend for a nice relaxing dinner with good food and service. The steak tartare is a must try as well as the raw bar selection. I loved the Halibut; crisp with well balanced flavor. As for dessert, the Strawberry Delice was a perfect amount of tartness, saltiness, and sweetness. If there was something to comment on, I feel like the charcuterie board could be arranged with more finesse. The bread was good but the way it was done looked a little sloppy. Overall amazing dining and would go back!

Craigie On Main is an upscale restaurant in Cambridge known for its innovative French-inspired locavore cuisine and seasonal tasting menus. The wine list, curated by wine director Emily Larkins, features a mix of classic and unique selections, including whites from Germany, Burgundy, and Champagne, as well as notable reds from Burgundy, Beaujolais, and Piedmont. The cocktail program offers both classic and proprietary drinks.
We sat "ringside" and got to see each dish for the evening carefully prepared - really neat! Everyone seemed to be all about "the burger" but don't miss out on the awesome dinner menu. Our favorite dish was the squid ink pasta - spicy, salty, and savory in all the right amounts. Also enjoyed the rice pudding dessert that ended up being an interesting take on a pavlova, and the chocolate mousse. The mousse had a potentially dangerous combo: mint and orange, but tasted awesome. Will be back.

This is an amazing French restaurant! The food is out of this World! We had the pork 3 ways and the rib was one of the best ever! The black linguine with clams were great. The beef marrow in the bone was amazing. The chocolate dessert was great! I highly recommend this restaurant. Its not cheap but well worth it!

Love this wonderful restaurant. The burger is always worth the hype. The ever-changing menu never fails to bring wonderful ingredients to the table full of flavor and beautifully presented. The Craigie Next Door patio is an awesome response to the limitations from the pandemic, and the food lives up to the restaurant’s reputation from before.

Sigh. Another day, another GREAT MEAL at COM. This place has evolved over several years into a ‘go to’ Boston institution for many (including myself) when in need of a solidly executed, consistently excellent, always creative meal that incorporates complex flavors, ingredients, and textures. The classic burger has attained cult-like status, so much so that it’s hard for locals to snag one unless they arrive early and get in line. The new burger of the month has relieved some of that stress and of the two months that I’ve had them, they’ve been excellent. Restaurant and pre fixe: are always top drawer. Bar food and cocktails: exceptional. Service: always 5/5, never stuffy or pretentious, always helpful and willing to accommodate. Don’t be afraid of the specials. Example: Recently I had a trout Kama (collar). Wow! There succulent flavor of the meat alone was beautiful. But the complexity brought by the salad and vinaigrette were something to behold. Two different crudo appetizers have been drop dead beautiful. If you can snag a seat at the ringside, do it. I once saw someone move from ringside to a table. Go figure. Tony Maws is a Boston icon, if for no other reason than being able to stay at the top of his game for so long with COM and his more casual sibling restaurant Kirkland Tap and Trotter.

Craigie on Main ranks high on many online as the go-to option for haute cuisine as well as bar food and cocktails. Despite the rave reviews, we felt there are ample other restaurants in Cambridge and Boston that do not succumb to the hype as Craigie did. Though the staff was excellent, the vibe was outstanding, and the whole team was on the same page; the food was just underwhelming. The limited option burger was not nearly as great as advertised (nor even as good as the Craigie-inspired burger restaurant in Fenway's Time Out Market), and sadly our swordfish entrée tasted solely of the overpowering salt it was seasoned with. Overall, big thumbs up on the ambiance and kind and helpful staff, but the food left much to wish for, especially considering the price point.

I would say we had a good meal, but not for what we paid for. We came here for the 5 course tasting menu, and still left kinda hungry. The pace and presentation (as well as the wine) we're great, but the food itself and the quantity was not amazing. My starter was a single cucumber sclice with roe, and then there were a few mussel dishes, followed by a squid ink pasta dish, and then finally came the single largest dish: three slices of delicious lamb! Honestly the lamb was the only memorable dish, including the dessert. The wine was another story- we each got two glasses, which were more like 1.5 glasses each time (there was a little carafe for what didn't fit into the glass). It was incredibly delicious and worth the price! In short, I had a good evening, but wouldn't come back here for a tasting dinner again.

One of my favorite places to eat in or around Boston. I have been coming here for many years with my wife, and we leave delighted each time. While Craigie has aged since the initial wave of excitement, it has aged well -- still a must-visit restaurant if you're going to be in Boston for any lengthy period of time.

Fantastic service, delicious food, and superb cocktails. We sat in the COMB area and found it to be perfect for what we wanted - low key, cozy, but with access to the full restaurant and bar menu. Not surprisingly, they were sold out of their famous Craigie burger (one day l'll hopefully try it), but we tried their weekly special burger as an appetizer (dont judge). It was fantastic! Followed that with sirloin and oxtail as one main while my wife got the sole. Both dishes were flavourful and complex. A real delight. The real star was the bone marrow side dish that was to die for. Best of all, service was top notch!

Harvest is a long-standing restaurant in New England that offers contemporary seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The open kitchen allows diners to watch the chefs at work, and the restaurant has recently been redesigned to include fireside dining. In addition to its indoor dining area, Harvest also offers a private Garden Terrace for outdoor dining during warmer months. The menu features a variety of seafood dishes, including lobster bisque and locally sourced raw bar options.
I have never been here before and was invited to a wedding. The restaurant set back from the street, which is nice. The back room is quaint and isolated from the main dining area, which is wonderful for a private event. The beets & Goat cheese was fresh and mouth watering, just perfect. The potato soup was good, I prefer it a little thicker and more bacon in it. The main course I chose was steak, and it was cooked perfectly but it was not very warm ( it’s hard for a large number of people I understand). The steak came with a bed of mashed potatoes and green beans, which were both delicious. I will definitely make it back for a family dinner, the food & experience overall was great.

The service by Ruben was excellent. Went for Sunday brunch. Sourdough toast under the eggs Benedict was old on my order, burned on the other order in my party. This restaurant would be better for a regular lunch or a dinner. I feel like brunch is what they didn't sell all week. Dessert was spectacular!

This spot is always a favorite — if not for the food, then certainly for the atmosphere. The service is consistently impeccable, and the menu offers a wonderful range of choices, from vegetarian dishes to meats and fish. On this visit, we started with the salad topped with goat cheese croquettes, which was divine, and the roast chestnut agnolotti. For our mains, we both chose fish — the swordfish and the halibut. The swordfish was excellent, though the halibut was just slightly overcooked. I continue to enjoy going here but because it is pricey it is only for special occasions for me.

Pretty good place, duck and chicken were okay, but not great. Gnocchi was too soft. Potions were very small especially the ice cream. Service was strange, dishes came out right away and we felt rushed but there were very few people there. Did they not want us? Felt very overpriced in the end.

Solid dining in an upscale space (4 stars). But taking away one star for a (big) pet peeve of mine that Harvest was guilty of - high end restaurants charging premium prices for glasses of wine should bring out the bottle and pour at the table - if you're charging me $30+ for a premium glass of wine and boasting about your Wine Spectator designations, then I should get to see the bottle you're claiming to pour.
KHY — Google review
The place is hard to find bc it’s not in the street but in an alley where cars cannot pass. We arrived early so had drinks n fries while waiting fur rest of the party to arrive. The fries were sauggy. The seafood tower at $125 is not worth it. It’s very good presentation. The oysters n shrimp are good but the muscles were bland. I guess I like them in a broth smothered in butter n garlic Better off getting dz oysters n shrimp cocktails sep. the lamb was great n the pekin duck was great. The desert crème brûlée was great. The wine was superb. Our server Jacob was friendly, courteous n attentive which I always appreciate. We had a great meal.

I truly am in AWE of the desserts! The Mango Petit Gâteau with champagne mango, lime cake, basil cous cous was such a unique mix of flavors and textures that somehow felt like “why haven’t these always gone together?!” It was meant to be! I also had a pot of MEM tea and Charcuterie. Humbolt Fog, Mimolette, chicken liver mouse, and country pate were all new to me! So fun! Loved the cheeses. Not too fond of the liver. Seriously, I would LOVE to be a taste tester for this place :-). I spent the day exploring wonders of the world at the Harvard Museums, and ended it with a culinary masterpiece here!

If not for the smallish sign on the outside, you may miss this eye catching, scent stimulating, taste buds memorizing restaurant, in the South End. The options were extensive, and the flavors purely satisfying. We want to send a special thank you to Kevin, Adam, and Peter and the owners for a great experience and incredible menu.
Sonia B — Google review
Okay, this was entirely my fault. I got a little carried away by what I “thought” was the newly improved restaurant scene in Boston after having a few excellent meals at Japanese Spots here. This was not one of those meals. In my defense: I scoped Oishii out extensively online. Looked at many pics, read through multiple online versions of their menu (which were very misleading…). Here’s the problem at Oishii: I’m going to go out on a limb and say that at least 90% of the menu items are deep fried/tempura. Not kidding. There is this huge, long sushi bar fully staffed with chefs and they’re deep frying every, damn thing. I’m sure that sells. It’s probably not a problem for them. Deep Fried sushi is not my thing and not why I came. So….my bad. I had actually planned what I was going to order/eat from reading thoseonline menus. Pretty much none of the items I was planning to order actually appeared on the menu last night. I’m assuming they serve what sells for them: Tempura Everything. #eyeroll The spot itself is very beautiful. Multiple levels, multiple bars and dining areas. Really lovely furnishings and serving plates, etc. Also? EXCELLENT Sake List. One of the best, most extensive I’ve ever seen. Super impressive. If they had had even just a “basic” sushi section on that menu Oishii might have worked for me. As in you can’t just order some ala carte pieces of sushi and/or some simple rolls. (I was not given a menu including that. I can see one online. Maybe I should have asked. I just assumed the fancy, bound menu they gave me was the entire menu??) You must choose from a large page of very elaborate rolls. I managed to find two that did not contain deep fried ingredients. And one of those was a California Roll. Oishii is A Lot of Show and very little substance. Looks good. Decent vibe. Underwhelming food. What they’re serving is trying too hard. Everything is muddled. Too much tempura. Flavors and ingredients are not able to stand on their own. On the upside: Portion size is ginormous. One roll will likely do you. So you could have a wonderful bottle of Sake and eat one giant Tempura something and be good! What I had: Cucumber Salad: EXCELLENT. Best thing I had. Led me to have irrationally high expectations. Fried Vegetable Dumplings: really disappointing. Fast food type dumpling that was overcooked. Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice: Very meh. I have no idea what was mixed in with the spicy salmon. But it was A LOT of stuff which made the entire piece too large. Almost impossible to eat. Which is a clear failure in the world of sushi. You must actually be able to get the piece into your mouth… Scallop Crispy Shiso (I think this was on the appetizer menu): Okay, this was DELICIOUS. But this is also an entire meal. Tempura shiso leaf with a scallop on top and then piled high with shredded, fried Taro. This is one of dishes you can order with your excellent Sake and be one and done! Mixed Green Salad: I needed to cleanse my palate from all the fried…basic salad. It was fine. “Real” California Roll with King Crab. It was good. Basic. Fine. For the Love of Salmon Roll: Tobiko, Avocado, Cucumber, Seared King Salmon, Ikura, Shiso, Spicy Mayo. Really good, gigantic roll. Very “busy.” Lots of things going on. Not usually my thing. But again, order one of these and you’re good! I tried their “signature dessert” which is the definition of trying too hard. Hahahahahaha. So much going on. Presentation over substance. Cannot recommend. It’s something like a big, frozen coconut egg with some espresso mousse inside sitting in a little base of yuzu with some berries. #eyeroll Nice Date Spot. If you live in the area also nice spot. Not worth making the effort to travel to.

I often come to the United States for business trips, but usually there is not much good food. However, this time is different. I particularly like their sushi because it tastes fresh and the sushi rice is very soft. The texture of the sashimi is soft and delicate. The decoration of the restaurant is full of elements of Japanese culture, and I recommend everyone to come.
Natsuki N — Google review
Had a great experience here every time I've been. Some really unique offerings such as the salmon on fire that have a gimmky presentation but also taste delicious. The fundamentals are great: good selection of sushi to choose from with high quality fish that breaks apart very easily in your mouth. I loved the savoriness of the squid ink pasta. Would definitely recommend this for first time patrons. Also very creative presentations for desert. And delicious too!

Amazing omakase! We loved every bite, and the truffle was the best! Wide sake list and great service just mashed this the best choice for sushi!

My friend and I headed to Boston to visit a good buddy, and we said ‘Pick the best sushi restaurant you can find’. We maybe should have said ‘but let us know what it costs’? Ending up at Oishii was the best outcome possible when it came to the food, the ambience, the service, and just overall experience. I kid about the price - yes, it’s expensive - but I don’t know that you’ll find a cooler sushi spot anywhere in New England. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday night, and every table was packed with people having a great time. Date nights, large groups of friends - the energy was electric. The presentation of the dishes alone was worth the trip, and the food lived up to everything else going on around it. If you want to splurge with no regrets - get yourself a table at Oishii.

Sofra Bakery & Cafe is a cozy bakery known for its Middle Eastern sweets and savory bites, offering a small patio for outdoor seating. It's a popular spot in Boston, drawing in locals and visitors alike with its delectable pastries like pistachio rosewater croissants and bittersweet chocolate tahini tarts. The establishment also serves up savory specialties such as shawarma sandwiches and baked feta adorned with rhubarb.
This place was recommended and after receiving a gift card I went with my mother to check this place out. While pricey, if you’re willing to cough up some cash it is well worth the money for the quality you will get from this food. We had ordered the Turkish style breakfast which had a soft boiled egg wrapped in an ingredient I do not know the name of but it added crunch and mild sweetness to it. There were cucumbers, olives, tomato that was mashed and sweet yogurt which was topped with seasonal spoon sweets. You can refer to the image but this was one of my favorite things with the blend of refreshing vegetables that were light and paired with sweet creamy substances. It was filling yet not overbearing. Geno’s egg sandwich was worth the getting my hands messy as the egg was cooked just enough that the yolk broke upon first bite adding extra flavor that brought out the halloumi cheese and tomato concasse. The granola bowl was another favorite being served in Egyptian carrot jam and labne that made it stand out compared to other granola bowls. We had purchased the Turkish coffee which we felt was decent but not as good as Andala coffee houses especially when comparing price and value. The desserts were the date almond ma’amoul and chocolate tahini tart. The tart was smooth, rich and not overly sweet compared to the breakfast Items which was a nice change. Lastly, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The music was middle eastern and not so loud that you could not have a conversation.

Wow the flavors here are so fresh and unique!! When we entered, I was skeptical, but the food was so good and like nothing I've tasted - admittedly I don't eat at meze places super often. The chicken wings (date molasses bbq and lemon herb on top) were SO good, the flatbread and shawarma tasted different from any other place bcus of the filling. The shakshuka came with pesto which was jnteresting. Highly recommended. There's not a lot of seating and it's a free for all so don't come with a group expecting to sit.

Troquet on South is a cozy bistro that offers a warm setting and an intimate atmosphere. The restaurant serves a fusion of French and New American dishes paired with an impressive selection of wines curated by owner-sommelier Chris Campbell. The menu features new interpretations of French classics, such as truffled chicken roulade with pea and ricotta risotto, and ribeye with Parisian gnocchi.
Went there to celebrate my lovely wife’s birthday. We opted for 7 course tasting menu. Everything was delicious. And my god the butter they served with bread was delicious. I need to know the brand. Oh the bread was amazing too. Would’ve asked for more if I weren’t so stuffed. Great staff too. All lovely folks. Thanks for making the day special for us.

Very much enjoyed the dinner at Troquet on South. The restaurant is a short walk from South Station. The bluefish pate was marvelous as were the crab spaghetti and duck. I was interested in the 7-course chef selection, but the server wouldn't tell me the names of the dishes, just that they would be whatever the chef felt like serving that day and that the dishes change frequently. I don't if the server just didn't know what was on the menu that day or if he just didn't want to find out. But in the end, I just picked my own dishes. The ladies who came by my table were absolutely lovely and helpful. They checked on whether I liked my dishes. The hostess was wonderful. The service bobble was with my waiter. I sat at my table for a while and had to wave to get attention to get an order in. The complimentary bread is excellent. I'll be back.

We stopped by Troquet for lunch on a quiet Thursday afternoon and had a fantastic experience. Their cocktail and beer selections were excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious—definitely a place we’ll revisit soon. Although our meals took longer than expected, our waiter thoughtfully explained the delay was due to a large group’s order being placed simultaneously, which we really appreciated. Just a heads up, street parking is limited, so you may have to use a nearby garage. I’d highly recommend Troquet if you’re in the area!

Fantastic 5 course tasting menu of oyster amuse, salmon tartare, escargot, foie gras, duck, and chocolate cake for dessert. Glass of the house cava to start and the somm helped us with a great half bottle from the northern Rhône. Im a sucker for a cheese cart and added that to our dinner. The bread rolls and butter are amazing; they ship the butter from France. Stand outs were the salmon tartare and foie gras. Really great service from the whole team and a fun dining experience.

It’s been a long time since I last dined here and it was just as amazing as I remember. We loved all of the food here—excellent and of a high caliber. We started with the oysters which were (I think) the best oysters I’ve ever had. They brought out bread afterwards with freshly scooped butter. Might be some of the best rolls and butter I’ve had too. The bread, lightly salted on top, was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The butter, which melts into the bread as you spread it, had notes of honey in it too adding an extra sweetness. Top tier. All of the entrees were stellar, and one thing I loved was how appropriate the portion sizes were. We finished everything and were content without being overly full. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection with mashed potatoes. The creamy carbonara was flavorful with the squash. The branzino was also cooked perfectly and came with tasty sides. And lastly the scallops had a great sauce and went well with the mushrooms. We tried the date cake and chocolate soufflé for dessert but it wasn’t anything crazy or over the top. They don’t have a pastry chef. Lastly I’ll comment on the decor as the vibe was quiet and nice with fun pictures hanging around. The back door is also connected to a speakeasy!

Classic French cuisine experience with stellar food and service. Took a visit a few weeks ago to try their regular a la carte menu. We came in on a Friday night, and the place was quite empty. Our initial expectations were thus low, but the overall experience was very satisfying. Before the appetizers, we were served with warm focaccia bread and a spoonful of French butter from a huge bucket. The housemate butter was inexplicably light and the focaccia bread was surely the best I’ve had in my recent memory. For the appetizers, we had the fluke crudo, salmon crudo, and the housemate ricotta, and our favorite was the ricotta. It not only came with a dazzling presentation but also the interplay between the ricotta, olive, and root vegetable chips was light and delightful. On the other hand, the highly-complimented seared foie gras was just okay. Champagne mango panda cotta did boost its umami, but there wasn’t anything special. All the entrées we ordered were flawless: rack of lamb, duck two ways, an rye-crusted scallops were all cooked to perfection. My favorite was the scallop which had seemingly simple toppings. Mélange of morcilla, pomegranate, and delicate squash resulted in sweet, savory, umami-rich bites, and I kept going back for more. For desserts, we had the vanilla crème brûlée and the dark chocolate soufflé, and they were both fairly basic. Yet, the overall experience was definitely more enjoyable than I expected, and I would highly recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for high-end classic French cuisines.

I love this place - especially for its bar and bar menu. It is ridiculous that they don’t offer their delicious pizzas and bar menu in the restaurant. Prices in the restaurant area are steep, and I guess I can see why the bar is hopping and this part of Troquet is a ghost town…

"Fox & The Knife" is an Italian restaurant in South Boston that offers a lively atmosphere and a menu focused on rustic Italian cuisine and modern cocktails. The restaurant's online menu features a variety of delicious dishes, from creamy burrata with warm walnut vinaigrette to savory wild boar tagliatelle Bolognese.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at this Italian gem in Boston, and our experience was nothing short of spectacular. We reserved seats at the chef’s table, which turned out to be the highlight of the evening. Watching the chef at work—skillfully preparing each dish with precision and passion—gave us a true appreciation for the artistry behind the food. The service was impeccable: attentive without being intrusive, and each course was perfectly timed. The staff was knowledgeable and eager to share details about the ingredients and pairings, which elevated the whole experience. As for the food, every bite delivered rich, authentic flavors. From the fresh pasta to the perfectly balanced sauces, it was clear that the kitchen takes pride in sourcing high-quality ingredients and letting them shine. The chef even sent out a few surprises along the way, making the meal feel personalized and special. The combination of atmosphere, service, and outstanding cuisine made this an unforgettable night. Dining at the chef’s table isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience, one that I’d recommend to anyone who loves Italian food and wants a front-row seat to culinary craftsmanship.

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. We were a group of 11 and they took such great care of us. The service was impeccable. Our server, Emma, was so helpful. The team was super accommodating to the many allergies in our group. Another staff member, Stef, was attentive and always checked to ensure we were happy and took care of every need. The food was soooo good, I can’t pick a favorite. Five stars all around!!

We had such an incredible experience at Fox & the Knife. The food was outstanding—so well seasoned, so flavorful, and nothing felt fussy or overworked. We sat at the chef’s counter and the service was phenomenal from start to finish. My husband ordered a habanero mocktail that he loved, and I had the Winter Fizz, which had this perfect tart pop from the pomegranate. The focaccia came out savory, salty, and wonderfully crispy. The endive salad honestly surprised me—in the best way. You taste everything: the richness of their amazing olive oil, crunch from the nuts and herbs, the little bitter snap from the greens, and this smooth, creamy yogurt tying it all together. The bucatini was spot-on with just the right amount of warm pepper and perfect chew. The pork Milanese was cooked beautifully—still slightly pink inside—and that mustard aioli was fire. And the desserts! My husband ordered the creamsicle and said it was incredible. I had the panna cotta, which almost ate like a savory cold cheese course. I loved it so much that I bought a bottle of their olive oil on the way out. Such a fantastic meal and overall experience. We can’t wait to come back!

We enjoyed our dinner at the chefs counter, and it was cool to watch them work - kind of felt like watching “Beat Bobby Flay”! We weren’t very hungry, which was sad bc so much of the menu sounded & looked amazing! We shared the fried chickpeas to start, and then I had the tagliatelle bolognese and the hubs had the ravioli carbonara. Both portions were on the small side, which was great for us, but I would have needed more food if I was truly hungry. The ravioli was only one large piece. They accidentally brought me out the wrong entree, but our server was apologetic, it was immediately rectified & I was offered a complimentary dessert to make up for it. The desserts sounded great, but we were too full. Overall, a lovely dining experience!

What an incredible experience. We sat at the Chef's Counter. My wife has a preference regarding raw onions, and even though we didn't ask to accommodate, they did. The server was amazing with making recommendations on Amaro. The entire staff was running like a well-oilef machine. And then the food, fantastic and flavorful.

Came here for birthday/wedding anniversary meal, they made special printed menus wishing us a happy anniversary and birthday, really cute keepsake! Amazing meal, perfect portion sizes, very fresh and well prepared ingredients! Loved sitting at the chef's counter and the food was paced to perfection. Kitchen incredibly clean and chefs were focused, calm, and seemed to be enjoying their work-lots of smiling and camaraderie. Chef at the pass was super focused but very calm, radiating a chill vibe for the whole kitchen, they also checked on our meal when we were finished which was nice. All folks who were working there seemed busy (the place was packed!), but not overwhelmed--seems like a well oiled machine. Can't wait to come back with our friends! Hazelnut tortelli was one of the tastiest dishes I've eaten in many many years, and the pate and gnocco fritto were very close seconds.

We had a wonderful dinner at the chefs counter. A very cool experience to see the kitchen in action. The taleggio stuffed focaccia was so delicious along with the broccoli Caesar! We also tried a couple small bites to start. The pasta with clams was so luscious and tasty! Our final fav was the pork Milanese!

My husband brought me here the night before my birthday and the staff was lovely. However, I got the worst case of food poisoning I’ve ever had and ended up spending two days in the hospital, including all of my birthday. I ate vegetarian (mushroom pasta), and we shared the burrata. My husband ate the chicken and liver and was fine. We will not be returning.

Season to Taste, a renowned 20-seat restaurant by Robert Harris, has temporarily closed its doors. However, the catering company Season to Taste has adapted by launching Season to Go, offering individual meals through GrubHub, DoorDash, and Caviar. The menu features delectable options like herbes de Provence roasted half chicken and spicy black bean soup with cilantro-lime crema.
Our first time trying this restaurant after hearing a lot of good things, and the food did not disappoint. The menu is fairly extensive and most of what we had were tasty dishes served by a friendly and efficient staff. The moist thyme biscuit with the pimento and pickles was a great combination and large enough to be shared by two. I really enjoyed the acorn squash salad. Large slices of squash, crispy Brussel sprouts, pickled onions and greens with a fresh tasting dressing. This was my personal favorite dish of the meal since I favor vegetable dished. The Scotch egg looked great but tasted bland as a whole and the egg texture was tough. The shrimp and grits dish was really buttery and creamy as grits should be, but definitely very rich. The pork ribs were a large portion of three ribs and were tender and tasty. The arepa dish was interesting. I like the combination of the various components and it was very filling. The fried clams were served with clam chowder. Very nicely fried clams but the chowder was just lukewarm. Would have preferred it at a hotter temperature. We realized that we had ordered and ate too much so didn't have room for dessert. But, will definitely come back to try other dishes. So happy that we found another restaurant that focuses on serving good quality and tasty food, at reasonable prices. Special thanks to the hostess who accommodated us at a table instead of the bar as a last minute request. Even though we had to limit our meal at the table to an hour due to other reservations, service was quick and we were able to finish in time.

The vegan tasting menu was incredible! Every dish was the most creative, delicious we've ever had. As good as New York and San Fran restaurants. I don't even know how to describe the food because it was so intricate and flavorful and gourmet. The mixed drinks were delicious and creative too. Can't wait to try things on the regular menu as well.

Just WOW. 6 of us were lucky enough to grab a reservation here on a Wednesday night and EVERYTHING that we ordered every single person at our table with different taste profiles just LOVED. Such unique flavor profiles using local ingredients! Gnocchi and rigatoni along with burrata salad were standouts, but we would order everything again on a heartbeat. Chef did some amazing things that are creative yet perfectly approachable. Great service and wine as well. Definitely on our list to visit next time we are in Boston!

We got the fixed course menu at the counter. Intimate dining experience with three couples total. The value for the food was good but I think the pacing/portioning needed work. Flavors were interesting but erred on the blander side. Service was okay, the counter didn't get a lot of attention from the waitress and it took a long time to flag someone down.

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. They take so much pride in their art and it shows. Everyone was knowledgeable about their craft and they use high quality, locally sourced ingredients. The best part was how down to earth they were. Sometimes, tasting menus can be really stuffy. We felt like we were able to get to know them authentically. Thank you for allowing us into your world for an evening. It’s a special place.

What had the potential to become my go-to spot for drinks and food in Cambridge quickly turned into one of the most uncomfortable and inhospitable dining experiences I’ve ever had. Despite the lively, loud atmosphere filled with conversation and laughter from other tables, I — sitting quietly alone in the corner, facing a wall/window and on FaceTime with a single guest — was the only person singled out and approached by the general manager (I believe his name is Nick). Rather than creating a welcoming environment, this manager made it abundantly clear I wasn’t. He told me to keep it down, despite the fact that the noise from other patrons was literally echoing off the walls. It was so loud, I could barely hear my call — yet no one else was told to lower their volume. Why was I the only one targeted? It felt discriminatory, petty, and completely out of touch with how a manager should behave. I came prepared to enjoy a full meal and a relaxed experience, but that moment killed any comfort I had. While my server, Andrew, was incredibly kind and attentive — a true professional — it’s a shame his efforts are completely undermined by such unprofessional, antagonistic management. Honestly, Andrew deserves a much better place to work, where his talent and warmth aren’t overshadowed by the poor judgment of the person in charge. I strongly encourage others to think twice before supporting a restaurant where the general manager goes out of his way to make paying customers feel unwelcome. There are plenty of places in Cambridge that know how to treat guests with basic respect — this, unfortunately, is not one of them.

Came here for my husband’s bday, this is a cool place! For the mains - really impressive preparation for their ham-wrapped scallops, I appreciate the plentiful sauce and sweet corn risotto - a LOT more substance than most restaurants give for scallop. The Campanelle Bolognese is solid, though it had more breadcrumb than I personally prefer for pasta. Fritto misto was well done and crispy! Drinks were fun, I liked the Carpe Dew’m the best since I’m a big fan of honeydew. Overall wonderful experience - and very friendly waitstaff. For me, the flavors across dishes weren’t as unique as I had hoped from all the reviews, which is the only reason this isn’t a 5 for me.

Moona is a charming restaurant that offers a delightful blend of Eastern Mediterranean and Arabic cuisine in an intimate setting adorned with mosaic tiles. The menu features an array of tempting small plates, including feta fritters with sweet orange-blossom honey, crispy coconut shrimp with mango-ginger chutney, and scallops with harissa barbecue duck.
Moona is such a gem! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff make you feel right at home. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented! The mezze were amazing, and the spices were perfectly balanced. Especially their baklava, it had a beautiful floral scent that made it unforgettable. Portion sizes were just right, and everything tasted homemade with so much care. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends.

We had high hopes for this place after reading such positive reviews and were really excited to try it for my bf’s birthday, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite live up to those expectations. First, we had a dinner reservation yet didn’t get seated until 15 minutes later. Then we didn’t get our drinks for another 15 minutes later after being seated. Food was okay, the best thing I had from here was their potato croquettes. The duck rolls were dry. Maybe it wasn’t a good day, but for the high price, I expected more.

the food here is very good! a super busy place, I wouldn’t recommend the bar for eating a full dinner. their mocktails were creative and delicious. I loved how seasonal the food and drinks were! I got the coconut shrimp, the feta fritters (a MUST order), the lamp burgers, and the harissa carrots (not pictured).

Took my wife here for her birthday after reserving a table on Resy. The location is in a nice part of Cambridge but you’ll find the dining area of the restaurant to be fairly limited in space. Because of the limited space it was quite loud and hard to hold a conversation or even hear the waiter. For this reason I wasn’t a huge fan of the ambiance. Upon glancing at the menu you’ll find the majority of it is alcoholic drinks and wines with a limited selection of small-plate food options. It was cool to see some contemporary renditions of middle eastern cuisine but it was definitely not what I would consider authentic. We ordered the grilled blue fish, Eggplant Fatteh, Kibbeh Dip, Arayes Kofte, and Stuffed grape leaves. Everything was mostly good in flavor. The kibbeh dip was bright in flavor but left more to be desired. The eggplant Fatteh was really tasty because it’s just hard to mess up with fried eggplant. We really loved the grilled blue fish with the perfectly dressed slaw on the side. There was too much going on with the stuffed grape leaves because of the short rib on top. And overall my favorite was the arayes Kofte because of the crispy bread stuffed with an elegantly spiced patty of meat. For a small plate mezze type restaurant I would expect that the plates come out fairly consistently. At one point we were waiting a good 10 minutes between dishes. I would have wished the service was better timed. Moreover, the way the menu was written made it difficult to choose what to order. We had to ask a lot of clarifying questions to understand better exactly what we would be ordering. Food was good overall, but I don’t think this restaurant is anything worth raving about.

Great flavors, love the complimentary bread (fluffy and perfect temperature). the lamb dish was amazing although i think the yogurt to meat ratio was too high. The ambiance was good but a bit too cramped. Definitely get a reservation in advanced since this place is busy. overall will come back again.

Great Mediterranean place for small bites and drinks. Awesome service and nice cozy ambiance. We ordered tahini on hummus, feta fritters, falafels. Cocktails were saved by the bell and oh snap as shown in pictures. Dessert was flavorful and good presentation

Tucked away in a quaint and eclectic setting, this spot truly delivers when it comes to food. We sat outdoors, which added to the charm, and went as a group—perfect for sharing. We ordered the mushroom hummus, lamb awarma, labneh, falafel , and branzino, and every single dish was packed with flavor and beautifully balanced. The food was a definite standout and had us all raving. The only miss of the evening was dessert. We tried the pistachio-based one, and while it sounded promising, the ice cream had a slightly artificial aftertaste, and the genoise cake was on the dry side. May be we ordered the wrong dessert from the selection. That said, we’ll absolutely be back—for the food, the drinks, and that cozy, eclectic vibes.

New American restaurant
Fine dining restaurant
Urban Hearth is a cozy American restaurant in North Cambridge that offers farm-to-table cuisine with an open kitchen. They provide family-style meals for contact-free curbside pickup or local delivery, featuring dishes like pickle-brined fried chicken, Louisiana seafood gumbo, and wild mushroom and spinach lasagna. The restaurant embraces the concept of 'slow food for fast times' and prides itself on locally sourced, globally inspired dishes prepared with casual precision.
One of my favorite farm-to-table experiences in Boston. It’s an intimate dining setting and the servers are well educated on the menu and ingredients. The buttermilk biscuit was the highlight and I would go back just to have it again - perfectly crunchy exterior and flaky interior, paired with a wonderfully savory butter. We also loved the duck which had a great balance of flavors and textures, and the feta gnudi which had incredible depth and umami. Would love to return to try other dishes on the menu!
Audra W — Google review
Let me tell you about the best buttermilk biscuit I've ever had. Not huge, but well-sized, brown and crispy and flaky on the outside, soft and warm in the middle, with melty maple butter. I don't have a picture of it. If they'd suddenly run out of food after I ate this biscuit I'd have given them five stars. The rest of our dinner was also excellent. We particularly liked the fazzoletti. No matter how old I get I'll never stop learning new names for obscure types of pasta, and this is basically a flat noodle. Delicious with broccolini. The asparagus and mushrooms came with kimchi croutons. Excellent wines and desserts as well. Because it's farm to table I'd expect the menu changes often.

We visited after reading that the restaurant was James Beard–nominated, and we really enjoyed the dishes. I appreciated the thoughtful combination of ingredients that created unique and memorable flavors. That said, the logistics need improvement. The service was slow, and the space - while some might call it charming - was very tight. My husband and I kept bumping knees under the table, which made it quite uncomfortable. It also felt very hot inside, and the AC didn’t seem to be working properly. I would still give it 5 stars for the food, but the overall experience could be improved.
Gabbie K — Google review
Finally, a Farm-to-Table that delivers. I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while and last week, I finally made it. The restaurant is small and intimate, the kind of space where quiet details matter. We had initially booked a patio table, but the weather rerouted us indoors. Our reservation also got pushed back by an hour, but given how notoriously hard it is to snag a spot here, we weren’t about to protest. The menu isn’t long, but that’s the point. It’s built around what’s fresh and in-season, all sourced from local farms. Chef Erin Miller, a protégé of Dan Barber, brings that same ethos of sustainability and agricultural precision to her own kitchen. And like many New England farm-to-table spots, it could’ve easily leaned into the overly earnest. But this one didn’t. The cooking was restrained and balanced. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Cambridge. We opted for à la carte over the five-course tasting menu (which runs $160—steep, even by NY standards). As expected, the menu leaned heavily vegetarian, but the dishes didn’t feel like apologies for a lack of protein. There was no overcompensation via aggressive seasoning. Instead, each dish was seasoned just enough to let the main ingredient speak. The Tandoori Roasted Carrot Brochette was our favorite from this category. The carrot itself lost its earthy sweetness, reduced mostly to texture. It felt like an intentional blank canvas for what followed. Fragrant, nutty, and tangy thanks to ramp toum, with a hit of umami anchoring everything. Then the knotweed granita added a lovely lift: a sweet and herbal burst that surfaced in a single bite. Some of our other favorites were the Buttermilk biscuits and the Grey Sole with Fennel Marmalade. The biscuits were dense like a classic version but layered like a croissant. Thus more indulgent than rustic. The maple miso butter had a subtle bacon-like savoriness that added depth. The grey sole was definitely our favorite dish of the night. The sole was gently poached and rolled into a clean cylindrical form. Because the fish itself is so flaky and mild, the kitchen wisely kept things restrained. A quiet, elegant dish—especially refreshing after the intensity of the vegetable courses. The Flat Iron Steak was good but didn’t quite justify its price tag. The koji marinade added a mild funk that resolved into umami, brightened by a ramp vinaigrette. Unfortunately, the steak itself was slightly overcooked and dry (understandable given how thin the cuts were, but still disappointing). The menu shifts frequently, so aside from the biscuits, there’s not really an “iconic” dish. But if you’re into seasonal vegetables with subtle surprises, I recommend giving them a try.

We had an excellent meal at Urban Hearth’s Chefs Table. If you are looking for Michelin Star Quality food in Boston, Urban Hearth is worthy of a Star plus a Green Star. Chef Erin Miller wowed us with ingredients and techniques from all over local New England and the world. Among many other treats, she had twists on common fish, incredible mushrooms that she forages her self, and a meaningful story behind each component. The 5+ course meal consisted of small but complex plates. Each was equally interesting and different. Pacing was fine. Service was friendly and not stuffy. We were both full by the end of the night. We didn’t have wine, but the couple next to us had the pairing, and it looked like a nice program. The atmosphere was louder and more cramped than you would expect for the food, but it was great. Felt more like Northern Europe than Cambridge. Kudos to the Urban Hearth team, we will definitely be back for the chefs table.

We went here to celebrate my bestfriend’s graduation from mit. I have been to several farm to table restaurants and had chef’s counter experiences. I chose this place for my friend after reading great reviews but unfortunately, my experience was pretty mid. Firstly, i did put in a special occasion comment that we were celebrating a grad. I didn’t expect anything from the restaurant but a nicer welcome acknowledging the occasion show’s attention to detail and was absent. Second, the restaurant itself is extremely small. I understand they are trying to create a concept of community and sharing. However, the place is extremely loud. The table next to us was so loud I couldn’t hear my friend. I didn’t feel like it was an intimate community setup. It felt more like trying to stack as many tables as they can in a very tiny place. Third, usually such places encourage conversation around food, explaining in detail each plate & trying to create an experience around it. Instead, we felt extremely rushed in between plates. The table was too small to keep more plates so they kept coming in to ask we were done and if they could bring the next course in. We also noticed that they entertain larger parties more. Lastly, the food. I think they were sold Out on 2 things already. The buttermilk biscuits we ordered werr cold (!!!). Rest of the dishes were also nothing out of the ordinary.

I enjoyed a charming dinner at Urban Hearth catching up with a friend tonight. The service was friendly, attentive, genuine, knowledgeable, and easy. The menu was inspired and star studded with seasonal highlights as well as subtle nuances. The biscuit with maple miso butter was delightful. The yellowfin tuna with its tasty Leche de Tigre and pistachios is understated yet balanced and very fresh. The duck liver mousse does not disappoint. My favorite was the savory creme brulee with farm squashes, charred peaches, and chili crisp. We also the koji marinated strip steak. All in all, it was a pleasure dining and spending the evening here. I am looking forward to returning soon with my wife. Thank you!

Faccia a Faccia is a coastal Italian restaurant located on Newbury Street, offering a sidewalk patio for outdoor dining. It's an ideal spot for enjoying post-shopping meals while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. Guests have praised the unique combination of caviar with mozzarella sticks as a delightful starter, and the perfectly cooked pasta dishes bursting with flavor. The hanger steak paired with garlic sauce has also received high praise.
The ambiance of the restaurant is so lovely for a date night or celebration. Service was great, very attentive. This restaurant is a must if you’re gluten-free/have celiac. Their GF pasta was delicious and the steak was amazing. Also loved the lobster arancini, very decadent. Not pictured but also tried the GF tiramisu and it was a generous portion size served in a bowl and very tasty. Highly recommend.

We went here after dinner and it was a fine experience. Nothing bad and nothing was amazing either. The prices for the drinks and small plates were a bit high but the food tasted good. The menu was very pesto heavy and it would have been nice to see a bit more variety. The pasta dishes were very good and the pasta tasted homemade. Overall this was a good experience with pleasant wait staff and management and solid food. If you decide to go here you won't be disappointed but you likely won't be amazed either. For drinks and snacks after work, this is a great choice.

Great restaurant with a comfortable vibe, large bar and seating that doesn’t feel crowded. Fried artichokes were the best bite. Loved the fry and the addition if some veg with it. Market salad also delicious. Fresh and lightly dressed, for me a little touch of salt would have made it perfect. The lamb ribs were the only disappointing item. They were a little greasy and for us oversauced. Pasta perfection. We had the cavatelli and mafade. We loved both. Pasta was cooked well and neither dish was over sauced. The mint came through in the cavatelli dish and it gave great freshness. Honey nut pana cotta was good. Honey sauce was delicious but I didn’t get much pepita in the crumble. Very crowded so definitely make a reservation. Overall was very happy with this restaurant and will return to try more menu items.

The food is superb. Though each plate is meant for sharing the portion side is on a smaller side (my husband and I could each for a few bite for each dish only). The rabbit meat pasta is “chef kiss”. We have the egg plant pasta as well, that dish is delicious but not overwhelming enough, I wish they have other option with protein but not spicy so our toddler can also eat. The octopus is super tender and the pairing with crispy rice is delicious. The menu is on the pricy side but great place for dating.

Let me start off by saying we had very high expectations of this place. We had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. We ordered Brussels sprouts, Coleply Market Salad, Cavatelli pasta and Hanger steak. The Brussel sprouts and salad were good. However our steak did not come with broccolini as advertised, the sauce was very acidic, and the food was not warm. The pasta was dry and bland, and definitely not a sharing portion. I am very disappointed with the food. We left majority of the food and we made it known that we did not enjoy the meal. We did not take anything home. There was no acknowledgment of the complaint and no action taken. Do not recommend for the high price.

One of my favorite restaurants on Newbury St!! The Koji-cured hanger steak was sogood — perfectly cooked, just the way it should be. Never ever go there again! All the food is unbearably salty — like someone dumped an entire salt shaker on every dish. On top of that, the service was terrible. When I politely asked where the restroom was, the server answered in a very rude and dismissive way. Truly an awful experience.

Amazing place. Love the idea of big family style dinner parties. The food is TO DIE FOR. One of the absolute best meals I’ve had. Amazing delicious huge hearty Italian food. The menu is set which is perfect you don’t have to think. The drinks are delicious around 16 dlls each - they have a great array of scotches and whiskey.

What an amazing experience at the TABLE in Boston's North End. They have a saying “you enter as strangers and leave as friends” is so true. The concept is that you get seated right next to strangers. As soon as we entered we were seated next to a group. They have a set menu and since my wife is vegetation they prepared vegetation dishes for us. The menu is pictured along with the food. After a while another couple came and were seated in between us and the group. We all started talking and were enjoying delicious meal. Every dish they brought was delicious and the portions were also great. We could not finish everything so they would even pack for us to bring home. I will definitely come back again!! I highly recommend checking out this restaurant for a unique experience and delicious food.

We have been long time fans of Table, so it was a no brainer to have our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding. Jen and staff went above and beyond to make our day absolutely perfect, we can't stop talking about it. From the set up, to the wine, and the food - everything was just so good and so perfect. The atmosphere was also intimate and cozy which is exactly what we had wanted! Now onto the food... every single one of our guests (33 of us!) have not stopped raving about the food since. It is hands down the best Italian in the North End. Outside of our rehearsal dinner, we have dined at Table multiple times for their Sunday Supper and weekday dinners and cannot recommend it enough. I tell all of my family and friends to dine here and also to check out the Mercato and Gelato caffe as well. I highly recommend dining at Table or hosting your next event there, we can't wait to go back!

My husband and I came to Table after drooling over their food on Instagram for months. We did the pre-fix menu and every single dish was wonderful. The service was great, had some great conversation with our neighbors and left full and happy! Definitely recommend!

Came here for my brothers bachelor party but felt like there was meat left on the bone with a conflicting expierence. While the food was solid and atmosphere amazing. I felt like the meal missed the mark in some ways and it was perfect for an intimate celebration space. The service was solid, the food was good but, as somebody who has worked in the restaurant industry for more than two decades. I thought risotto and ravioli as a main in a pre fixe was a get around. I felt like I need a protein like chicken, steak or something different but it was a lot of butter and a lot of pasta, which to me is cutting corner. But hey, what do I know. The wine selection was solid, and overall we had a nice time. I just thought it fell a little short of amazing.

Went to table on a whim but had the most incredible experience. The wait staff was so accommodating and friendly, and I really appreciate it considering I am gluten free. The food was sooo delicious, and I just know I am going to wake up tomorrow thinking about this meal. I loved making friends with the people next to me, really great concept. Great job and appreciate the precautions around my dietary restriction !!
Annabel M — Google review
We had a very nice dinner recently at Table. Admittedly, I didn't do enough research beforehand to realize what I was getting us into, since it's communal seating (two long tables where your party is seated with strangers) so just be aware of that! The meal was served as a pre fixe menu, and was very good. If you have a vegetarian with you (or anyone with dietary restrictions) be sure to tell the staff/include this in your reservation information (we did, just just saying!) The vegetarian options were great as well.

Steak house
Prima Italian Steakhouse is a charming restaurant located in the historical Olives space near the Freedom Trail. They take pride in butchering their meat onsite, offering impressive steaks like tomahawk and Florentine cuts. The menu includes house-made mozzarella, tortellini en brodo, jumbo cannoli, and tiramisu espresso martini. The cozy ambiance and holiday decor add to the dining experience.
I visited Prima for their gluten free Monday dinner service and sat outside on the patio (disclaimer: patio was quite windy and I wish I brought a headband or a hairtie). Two of us shared a caesar salad, focaccia, meatballs, and the 14oz striploin. Portions were certainly generous! The caesar was probably my favorite that I've tried lately in the Boston area. It was generously dressed with crisp greens and I really appreciated the grilled lemon to squeeze on top. I used the focaccia mainly to enjoy more of the sauce from the meatballs. The steak had a nice sear and was well prepared. For dessert (really why I wanted to come here), we shared a cannoli and the strawberry tiramisu. Both were very good, but I'm excited to return and try a classic tiramisu at some point. There's plenty more to try on the gluten free menu and it's definitely worth coming back.

Gorgeous restaurant with amazing food! The atmosphere is electric in this restaurant and the service is quick and very responsive! The food is just on another level! Everything was perfect - I don’t even have things to point out! Our party of 10 loved everything! The drinks are strong and very creative! Really recommend! The price is reasonable for the restaurant of this scale. Definitely order a steak!!

Came here on a Thursday evening with a 6:30 dinner reservation for two. We were seated promptly at a high top in the lovely bar area. Our server, Jorge, was super helpful and answered our questions about the menu. We put in our drink and food order shortly after being seated. The cardamomo fresco was such a lovely cocktail that we ordered it twice! After a short wait, we got our food order with the scallop crudo appetizer along with fried mozzarella with caviar at 6:55. The scallops with brown butter and sweet potato were excellent! The fried mozzarella and caviar was also a lovely way to start the meal. After a bit of a longer wait, our entrees came out at 7:45. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and the spicy pici (hand-stretched Italian noodles). The chicken parmigiana was excellent and well-fried although it could've used a little bit more tomato. The spicy pici was also fantastic and the nduja meat sauce had a lot of flavor. After another longer wait, we got our dessert order at 8:10 and got the olive oil chocolate mousse. It wasn't to sweet a the olive oil definitely enhanced the dish! Took a while until we got our check and paid at 8:40. Overall, the food was fantastic, but the service was a little slow which may have been due to being understaffed for the potentially busier than normal Thursday night and/or the needy customer next to us complaining about her chicken parmigiana being too cheesy. Definitely recommend coming here for the food and cocktails, but be prepared to wait.

Just had a FANTASTIC meal here. This is definitely being added to my list of favorite Italian restaurants in Boston! We also felt that everything was reasonably priced given their massive portion sizes. I would definitely recommend their caesar salad and pizzette, which was like a South shore style pizza but a little bit fluffier. Extremely cheesy and outstanding. We got the boneless ribeye, which they sliced and the lasagna was also 11/10—a humongous portion size that was rich, but I felt like I could’ve kept eating more and more. For dessert, you must try the torta gialla and the olive oil chocolate mousse. Other Google reviews reference the tiramisu, which I cannot speak for (dessert trio includes has all 3 desserts for $23—$3 more than if you just got the first two). The torta gialla was this delicious cake with crunchy bits, adding a nice texture. I also do not like maraschino cherries, but I LOVED the combo of cherries and chocolate in the mousse. Hope to come back again soon!!

Love the dim, godfather aesthetic. Feels like a vintage, old fashion Italian restaurant. sat at the bar so service was good. I went during the week with no reservations and it was pretty lively, reservations might be necessary on busy nights/weekends. Great menu & everything I ate was a 10/10. Parking may be a bit of an issue since it's in a residential area, so only street parking is available. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Boston again!

I cannot say enough good things about this spot! My husband and I went for the first time last night and we were blown away by the atmosphere, the amazing food (everything we ate had a wow factor), but by far our favorite part was the service staff. Ryan took care of us and we left feeling like friends. He was so helpful and attentive, giving great recommendations and a little tour of the place. If you are celebrating an occasion or just wanting dinner or a drink, HIGHLY recommend Prima!

Celebrated a birthday dinner here this week and it was fantastic! The place was packed on a week night (for good reason!) We were seated in the rose room, it was so lovely! The food was great and our waitress was amazing! The tiramisu martini was unreal!!! Prima is such a gem!

Great food on a Monday gluten free night. I had the best pasta of my life. Salmon crudo was delicious, bright and fresh. The garlic bread was ok, but was more like a pizza than a garlic bread. They had a great selection of wines. Gluten free tiramisu was good, but a little too heavy.

Via Cannuccia is a charming and cozy restaurant that offers an authentic Italian dining experience. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations. The dinner menu features delicious dishes such as the short rib special with heavenly potatoes, while the brunch menu includes flavorful options like eggs poached in tomato sauce and mini quiche. The food is simply incredible, with highlights including arancini cacio e pepe and a unique parmigiana.
We absolutely love this quaint friendly cozy restaurant! Whenever we visit family in Boston we always make sure we stop in at least once. Make reservations if you can there is limited seating. The brunch has a sea of amazing of pastries, egg dishes, warm loafs of breads plus great cappuccinos. The diner menu is equally delicious and there’s always something new to try! The pizza is a must, eat it in or take it home! You have to save room for dessert…try them all! Kelly is a great server and bartender! Last but not least thank you to the chef for his amazing creations and hospitality! Looking forward to our next visit!

My gf and I went for dinner and loved everything about this place. The atmosphere was great. The staff was incredible. So attentive and welcoming and efficient. My friend has a glass of wine and I got a lemondrop martini. We got the fried lasagna app on special, mussels, short ribs pasta, and the prosciutto burrata pizza. Everything was amazing! We also got a chocolate mascarpone cake and I got a cappuccino. There was not a single bite we didn't enjoy. One of our new fave spots. Can't wait to come back!

What a hidden gem! We were looking for a good brunch and found Via Cannuccia on google maps and boy were we happy we did! The restaurant is unassuming from the outside, but cozy and cute inside. It’s the perfect chef owned local gem that is hard to find in Boston these days. The food was creative, fresh and delicious. I had “pasta” that was actually eggs and hubby had the short rib hash. We also shared a perfectly buttery, flaky, fresh chocolate croissant. They had a pastry counter that rivaled those we saw in Paris, fresh home made bread (we didn’t try it this time) and the service was wonderful. Our server was helpful explaining the menu and helping us decide what to get (not easy!). Now we need to go there for dinner.

Was an amazing experience. Drove in from out of state and had seen alot online about the place. The service was amazing, I didn't catch our servers name, but he made us feel at home. Was super attentive and just an awesome, genuine, human. The food was fantastic. Small menu, but the kind where you want to order everything. Everything was hot and fresh, the pizza kicked ass, the short rib was like butter, the risotto was sublime. The tres leches is torched at the table, it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The restaurant itself is cozy, small but not cramped, lots of laughing, good music, and smiles. I could go on forever, the presentation, the aromas, the interior design. It was really amazing. The chef is a great guy and made time to say hello. Really awesome restaurant.

I know I’m late to the party but wow! I only had a croissant and a cappuccino to go, and both were amazing. I’m a coffee snob, so trust me when I say I don’t order drinks with a bunch of flavors. I know my beans and how coffee should be prepared. Boston usually lacks good coffee, but the beans they use here are worth grabbing just a cup on their own. The croissant was perfect, fluffy and flaky. The service was excellent and so friendly. I definitely plan to go back and try their dinner. Overall this place is a gem.

What a wonderful restaurant. The food and service are top notch. But the manager was extra special. His name is George and he was so kind and respectful to my wife Susan. She has a serious handicap and walking is extremely difficult for her. George told me to let him know when we were there. He came right out and took my wife safely into the restaurant. When we went to sit down at our table. There were a placard in front of both of us saying “Happy 43rd Anniversary”along with both of our names imprinted on those placards as well. We weren’t seated more than 1 minute and this gentleman comes to our table with a complimentary glass of champagne 🥂 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Who does things like this??? What a magical evening and it was due to this man George. Our server was top notch as well and his name is Neil. This was our very first time going to this restaurant and it definitely won’t be our last. Can’t wait to make a visit back there!!!!

One of my favorite restaurants in Boston and some do the best Italian food I’ve had! I take everyone who visits here and the food never disappoints - it’s simply outstanding. I’ve been here for brunch and dinner, and my favorites are the eggplant parm, braised short ribs, potatoes, and their pastries, especially the pistachio and almond croissants. I also love the frittata calabrese and the crostata. You can’t go wrong with any of these! The owner, Stefano, is warm and friendly and the service is great each time we visit. Will continue to come here for years.

Best pastries not just in the Dorchester area but in Boston. When I used to live down the block, I would go all the time on the weekends. Now, every time I’m in the area I make sure to stop by to get some of their croissants or Baked breads.

Fine dining restaurant
Wine bar
Meritage Restaurant is a waterfront spot located at the Boston Harbor Hotel, offering "vineyard-to-table" cuisine paired with an extensive wine selection. Chef Daniel Bruce emphasizes the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients to create a superb dining experience. The restaurant boasts an impressive 12,000 bottle collection and specializes in wine pairing to complement each dish. Despite its fine dining ambiance, Meritage offers surprisingly reasonable prices and welcomes guests in casual attire.
For events big or small, I believe Meritage can easily handle them all. This elegant dining establishment situated right on the water features wonderful views of the harbor, spectacular service, and amazing menu selection. I came here for NYE, and had all my expectations met, with some even being exceeded! Course timing was perfect, and the ambiance was both intimate and welcoming. Those who are searching for a taste of the best of Boston need not look any further. If this was helpful, please consider a thumbs up. It would be greatly-appreciated!
Michael Z — Google review
An excellent and surprisingly affordable (compared to its peers) fine dining experience. The views of Boston Harbor and the airplanes taking off and landing at Logan are a lovely bonus. While they take their wines extremely seriously (the wine list has many bottles priced in the hundreds and even thousands of dollars), you can get a very enjoyable three-glass flight to go with your meal for about $25. Service is on par with the best fine dining available in Boston. Plating is amazingly playful, with (spoiler alert) dry ice coming with the scallops and the mushroom dish served on a beautiful wooden platter. All told, you can get out of there for $80 per person with wine, so quite reasonable for what you're getting. Highly recommended!

I recently went to Meritage with my wife for dinner on her birthday. It was an amazing experience and my wife has been on cloud-9 since. This is less a dinner out and more a dining experience. The staff are all top tier professional and offered a complimentary champagne and wrote a nice happy birthday note on the desert dish for the special occasion. My wife had an amazing view of the harbor which she loved as well. I saw some other reviews comment on the food quality. I can kind of understand as they don't season the way I think a lot of people anticipate. Everything is more about complimentary flavors and emphasizing the ingredients over adding gratuitous flavoring. If you like heavily salted or sugary food you might not be a fan. I found everything amazing though. Perfectly cooked and in unique combinations but not gimmicky. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and happy to entertain all our questions. They kept us updated on kitchen times and promptly removed used dishes. The small dishes offer a nice sample while the large dishes left both my wife and I satiated. We both felt well attended to without being badgered. While the prices are a high they are not unreasonable. I found myself almost considering it a bargain at the end of the night for the experience we had. If you're more price conscious like myself you might not find yourself here regularly but I highly recommend it for a special occasion and look forward to returning in the future.

The service was great. The drinks were fantastic. The food was expertly prepared. Easily the best meal I had in Boston recently. I really want to give this place 5 stars, but I can't because of the atmosphere. I have had a number of meals rivaling the one I had at Meritage, but those places didn't feel stuffy. Those places had extensive wine menus and sommeliers as well. They just didn't have the vibe. If you want to feel elegant then this will be your place, but if you just want a really good meal then this might feel like too much for you. It really is a nice restaurant. It's just not my kind of place.
Lincoln S — Google review
Went with friends and did the 5 course menu with wine pairing (several chef extras at no charge). Excellent food, wine and service, with relaxing atmosphere and harbor view. Would definitely go back again for a special celebration. There are few restaurants that can match this place for quality, attention to detail and selection. The dishes were superb snd the wine selection perfect. My highest recommendation.
Kelbee L — Google review
This was hands down the best meal I ever had! I went all in with the vineyard to table wine and food pairing, and my wife has a prix fixe meal without the wine, but she added a cheese tasting. Every course was creative, expertly paired, and totally delicious. We enjoy good food, but don't often splurge on fine dining, but this was more than worth the price of admission!!
Bill P — Google review
Absolutely superb dining experience for actually reasonable prices. We went there for a dinner, casual dressed, only to discover everyone in fancy suits and dresses, but that was not a problem because everyone is welcome here! The appetizers were superb, especially the yellow tune, salmon tartar and the scallops. For main course we had fillet mignon and a pheasant, which were both delicacies. All deserts were no less good. The place has an enormous choice of wines and a good bar. The service is top notch and as in the best fine dining restaurants. Definitely check it out.
Ron R — Google review
I was not impressed by Meritage. I had the halibut and it was very dry and didn't pair well with the rest of the plate. Another person had the lobster and it was chewy/overcooked. He would have preferred Luke's. The service was not exceptional- In both the appetizer course and main course they brought the wrong dish for someone at the table. Each person had to wait for the dish to be remade as the others ate or let their dish get cold. On the upside, the octopus was good.
