We came at 7:45 and half the restaurant was empty. We asked for a table for 6 - 2 of the party was here while the remaining were in another car on their way. The hostesses rudely stated, “oh we can’t seat you until your entire party arrives.” There was no wait. We even stated that we would be ordering appetizers and drinks upon seating for 6.. 3 of the hostesses were quick to chime in. We were not arguing or being disrespectful. We were trying to understand and express our intent. The sign states “we will not seat incomplete parties on a wait.” Again, there was no wait. If your policy is going to change based on who is working the host stand, then I would suggest having a clearer policy or making sure your entire staff understands the policy. We have been decades long customers of Ninfa’s and have never been treated so disrespectfully and disregarded. As I’m sitting here writing this.. there is a group of 6 wait staff just hanging out behind the host stand. Great way to lose customers and money.

We visited Ninfa’s for lunch because it was directly across the street from the Waco Convention Center. I think we all ordered a lunch plate. It was a lot of food! I love the decor of the restaurant.

Great atmosphere, awesome service, tasty food! I had the shrimp stuffed jalapeno popper thingies and the best advice I can give is order four instead of two! Then I had the La bonita, a great sampling of a chicken enchilada, chile relleno and a beef taco. My only disappointment is I am too full to try the apple empanadas!

Lunch with friends. Ninfa’s is a tried & true favorite. Festive atmosphere, good service, delicious enchiladas. The historic building is clean and inviting highly recommend Ninfa’s.

Tory at Ninfa’s in Waco, Tx was outstanding. She brought our drinks before we ever had to ask, stayed on top of everything, and delivered the best service we’ve had at any restaurant so far. The food was delicious, but the service was on another level entirely. This is real Mexican food, not the fake stuff, and this place is now our go-to spot. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be making reservations—and asking specifically for Tory. If you're looking for greatness in both quality food and top-tier service, Ninfa’s is the place to be.

To start out I am usually not big on Mexican food but Ninfa's changed all that.Jman our awesome waiter not only delivered great service but also great reccomendations on drinks. I had to go twice while I was on my trip. I love the food, the drinks and the amazing atmosphere and staff. I don’t usually like writing bad reviews, but we were in a rush and stopped in here for lunch. The service was fine, but the food was terrible and bland. I love seafood, but the camerones tasted so fishy and inedible that I couldn’t even finish it. The rice and vegetables had no seasoning and even salt and pepper couldn’t fix it. I had a small bite of each of my plate and left it untouched after. We really should’ve complained but we were in a rush and didn’t think of it until afterwards. Even if they coped my meal I don’t think I’d give the food another try.

Delicious food, excellent service, charming dining rooms. This cute little restaurant was just what we needed for lunch. It's bright and airy with comfortable seating and two separate outdoor seating areas. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the food. We were offered sturdy corn chips with salsa and bean dip ahead of our meal. We selected Che's Tacos and the D.F. chicken enchiladas for our meal. Both were delicious. The brightness of the pickled onions and fresh avocado on the carnitas corn tacos was a perfectly refreshing contrast. Definitely would eat here again when in Waco.

This food is just ok. The service is okay, and the food is alright I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. The chips are real good the salads is alright and the beans taste like they come from a can. I got the green enchiladas they were alright nothing really special about this place. The carnitas were good but nothing out of the ordinary.

We ordered the street tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas. All dishes were very good and a lot of food! The wait staff were very attentive. The restaurant is attractively decorated. We even love the logo in blue and white. Highly recommend.

I have been here a few times. Service is good. Friendly and professional. Don't love the chips and queso, but their salsa is good. I had the Asada Street tacos. Came with cilantro, onion, salsa, and Charro beans. The meat was seasoned pretty good and the corn tortillas were good. Drinks are pretty good too.

Tonight was our first time here and this place is a gold mine. From the initial chips and salsa to the service (our server was Ciera and she took such good care of us), to the special of the day (we both had the chicken enchiladas) everything was so good. Food was hot and fresh and delicious. The beans were so good and the flour tortillas were 🤌. We will 100% absolutely be back.

We enjoy the chicken fajita enchiladas so much. And the birria tacos stay moist and juicy if you don't eat them the day you order them. The salsa is always a little disappointing surprisingly. It always tastes a little rancid somehow. Not my favorite. Everything else is always on point though, and I don't think they've ever messed up my delivery order. Thanks for being on DoorDash! I did not like this restaurant. The tortilla soup was served luke warm and was mostly onion. I was also not a fan of the chips or my margarita. I ordered the skinny and it had a 'fake' flavor. The vibe was like the old Isle of Capri casino meets country.

I had a great experience here. Service was timely, the food tasted superb. Drew was my server and he knocked it out of the park! I will definitely be visiting again. Kudos to the kitchen as well, the chicken spinach mushroom enchilada did not disappoint.

Grew up in Texas. I've been to a million Mexican restaurants. This was the best Mexican food I've ever had. My family agreed. You know the flavorless refried beans that usually come as a side? We were fighting over my son's until he finally tasted it and told us he was going to eat it. That's never happened before. I thought the chili relleno was kind of weird. There was almost a roll around the outside. Way too much bread, like a loaf of bread, bread. I just didn't eat all the bread. Anyway 10 stars out of five! Don't miss this place!

The food was good and the flavor was plentiful. Service was ok. Forgot the queso then brought yellow instead of white. The street taco, beans and rice were very flavorful. The quesidilla Birria was full of meat but I thought light on cheese. The sour cream, pico and quac were great flavor additions. Overall it was a good tex Mex meal and we both left full.

OMG y'all ROCK!!!! Walked to your restaurant after visiting the #silobration at Magnolia... fast service, super tasty food. Tasty in fact, Hubby orders a few to- go's. We opted to sit outdoors and that was comfy cozy.

Kristian is the absolute best bartender I've had the pleasure to meet and see in yrs. He makes some of the most amazing "knock you socks" drinks I've ever had in my life!! Wow!!! First of all the lady at the cash register was rude and we had to tell her 3 x’s what we wanted! My 2 kids chicken tacos were suppose to have corn tortillas and it had flour! The corn was not as good as usual and it was too expensive for 2 kids tacos, 2 small 1/2 size corn and 2 drinks! It was 30 dollars!!! Are you freaking kidding me! Won’t be back!

30 dollars for 4 tacos that when I get home tacos looked like straight dog food I was very disappointed in this because me and my fiancé thought they would be good considering how expensive and packed they are but I wasn’t able to even feed my child last night because everything I order for her looked like dog food. SMH they need to lower prices on this place or at least give better food service! I would have rather eaten Taco Bell if I would’ve known.

Torchys Tacos did not disappoint!! I tasted the Brushfire and the Tipsy chicken tacos. Both were packed with flavor and a kickstart heat. It was so delicious. I topped them off with two sauces which included the Diablo and the Bacon Bourbon marmalade. The bacon marmalade had me shaking my head because I wanted to lick the cup. Overall, the experience was very relaxed and I definitely enjoyed the meal. I will most certainly return to eat some Damn Good tacos as their sign proudly displays.

We came here on a Thursday night of Baylor graduation weekend. It was packed. Luckily there was plenty of parking. We only had 3 people so we did not have to wait even though there were larger groups waiting. Restaurant was clean with some cool decor. The service was good. Our waitress kept checking on us even though it was extremely busy. The food was good and in my opinion inexpensive. Starter chips and sauces upon request. I had the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo. It had a little bit of everything. I was unable to completely finish my plate, which is a rare occurrence. It might have been because of all the delicious chips I ate before it came out. I took the rest with me and heated the next day. Definitely a good experience.

I approached the host for a table for me and my husband. The host, named Emma, in Waco, TX, told me to button up my top, claiming it was a kid-friendly establishment. For context, I was wearing a button-up shirt with only the first button undone, showing a small part of my upper chest and lower abdomen. I told her I would not button it up and asked why I needed to. I also requested to see the policy or dress code that stated my outfit was inappropriate. She then tried to embarrass me in front of her coworkers and other guests, which was completely uncalled for. Thankfully, I didn’t let her behavior get to mei refused and was seated to my table .The manager later came to our table, served our food, and didn’t say a word about my outfit. I’m extremely upset by how unprofessional she was clearly intimidated! Jealousy is so ugly take care Emma !

We used to go to the original in Austin. Definitely not as good as back then. Chips used to be homemade and thin but now just bagged style chips. Definitely has a different style to tex-mex but many good items worth trying like the steak burrito, flaunts, and my favorite the crispy tacos and the Mexi Cobb salad. Anything and everything with creamy jalapeño sauce. Enchiladas are not not my style here. Prices are fair.

PEDRO YOU ARE AMAZING! I have never had such a great experience at a restaurant before like this. Pedro was fast and accurate with our entire order, so kind to our kids! Our drinks were never empty, our chip basket stayed full and so did the dip. The recommendations he gave were amazing and just what we were wanting. We want to thank you Pedro, you don’t have many waiters/waitresses like him often! I hope you only succeed in life because you deserve it!

Excellent food and service. The food didn't come out 3 minutes after placing your order which is a good thing because it was made to order. The food was obviously not heated in a microwave. The waitress was excellent going above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied or needed anything.

Wow this was a pleasant surprise! The food was great and the placement was beautiful. The service was excellent, we left a 20 dollar tip! Did not wait long and the margarita was superb! Large party experience. The food was good. The problem is service was the worst I/we have EVER EXPERIENCED. We, as a party, had to get someone else to ask the server to come back for drinks. We had to get our own silverware for the cake. The tickets were wrong. The tickets included a tip. If I could, I would give negative stars. Just don't come in as a party because servers know tips are included.

My wife and I wander into this place about once a month. Saw some bad reviews. I’ve never had a problem. If fact, as far as the quality of the food, look at my pictures. They should speak for themselves. Makes me want to visit more often. Addressing the high price complaints: You get what you pay for. For food I really enjoy, I’m willing to drop an extra couple of dollars. I’ve paid less in comparable places, and that’s exactly what I got - less. At least try it once, for yourself, before you decide. Get you some of that bad to the bone green sauce for your chips. You might even see me there…. I’ll be the big guy, with a look on his face which says “I ate way too much”.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. My husband and his coworker came here for the first time today— and it will definitely be the last. As he started eating his food, he suddenly felt something sharp in his throat. He pulled it out, only to find a twist tie embedded in his meal. Yes, an actual twist tie — the kind used to seal bags. He could have seriously choked. When he brought this to the attention of his server, instead of showing concern, the manager came over with an attitude, asking, "Is there a problem?" As if nearly choking on a foreign object in your food isn’t a serious issue. No apology. No accountability. They just casually asked if he wanted something else — as if that would fix the fact that there was literal trash in the food. No compensation was offered, no genuine concern was shown, and the overall response was beyond disappointing. The service was just as bad as the food — and the food wasn’t even good to begin with. If a twist tie made it onto a plate, I can only imagine what else is slipping through their kitchen. Save your time, money, and safety. This place should be ashamed.

First time visit here while I was in Austin. The atmosphere was quaint and cute. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The server was a wonderful young lady and very friendly! The best thing we ate was the appetizer of maple bacon & deviled eggs... absolutely hands down the BEST 👌 10 OUT OF 10! The other food we got was good but the eggs and bacon app was the show!

Definitely make a reservation! My son ordered Jo's crunchy French toast with over easy eggs and bacon, my sister and I ordered the Farm house breakfast and we had coffee. Everything was SO good. The French toast was the favorite. The bacon is very good too. We were seated at 10:20 am, and our reservation was at 10:30 am today. Service was very good and the food was delicious! We loved the atmosphere! The plant boxes everywhere were very nice. The restrooms were very clean and they had an attendant in there to keep it clean. We appreciated that there wasn't music playing in the background. You could just hear the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant and the conversations of people enjoying a meal together. We will make sure Magnolia Table is part of our annual trip to Silobration!

Came here for the first time for a quick brunch, and also because I was curious about this place I watched on Fixer Upper years ago. Perhaps because it was a Tuesday, it was very easy to make a 12.30pm reservation last minute. Still, the place was full when I got there, and I felt lucky to find a spot right away in the parking lot. Upon entering, I found the place quite large and bright, although the hostess could be a bit more welcoming to guests. Once seated, service and food came quickly, and my server was excellent. I ordered the avocado toast with a poached egg, and a pumpkin spiced latte with soy milk. Perhaps paying $16.50 for one slice of toast with no sides was a bit expensive, I was pleasantly surprised that it was super tasty, and the sourdough bread was nice and soft, just the way I liked it. The pumpkin spiced latte was a bit too sweet for me, but the flavor was good. All in all, it was a very nice experience and I would certainly recommend this place for brunch.

Beautiful restaurant! The staff was amazing! Food was good, but not exactly that "next level" I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, it was good, and I would go back. I guess with all the hype I was expecting more. But overall its an awesome dining experience. I suggest reservations. It was packed when we arrived and the seated us immediately.

Here in Waco with my daughter for the weekend and we planned dinner here, I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and our waitress was amazing, exception service. We had the chicken biscuit sliders for our appetizer and it did not disappoint, I ordered the steak frites but subbed the blue cheese sauce for the chimichurri sauce and also subbed the fries for the mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were a ok, my steak was unevenly cooked (I like medium rare) and a bit chewy/tough, but I'm a hard critic when it comes to steak, the chimichurri sauce was amazing!! My daughter had the bucatini pasta and that was perfect! Overall food and service was good I would definitely come back but I would just choose a different main entree! very good, however

Cannot say enough positive words about Magnolia Table. Now folks, Magnolia Table, and the Silos including Magnolia Market have come to be quite the destinations in Waco, and we knew that going in. So, we made reservatioons at Magnolia Table for 2:00pm on a weekday. When we arrived about 15 minutes early we were seated within 5 minutes. Had a VERY pleasant server. We ordered the Breakfast Sandwich (Her) and I had the French Toast Crunch. Photos of both attached. Both meals were EXCELLENT. Our only complaints (an observation more than complaint) was that the portions were HUGE. My wife didn't fininsh her side of potatoes, and I really struggled with my French Toast. The couple next to us (had a nice chat with them during the meal) left 1/2 their food on the plates. So, 5 stars for Magnolia Table. The place was spotless, waitress was very pleasant, food was excellent, and restrooms were tidy. Like I said, make reservations well in advance if possible, and yeah ... you'll likely be dining in a full restaurant.

I r heard great things about this place and was encouraged to stop here should I ever come back to Waco. I have to say it was worth it. The appetizers were amazing. Onion Rings, Fried Pickles and Chicken Fried Steak is very delicious. I too would highly recommend this place. I know there may be a wait but the food and service is good.

What a surprise! I have never been here before and what an amazing first experience! Chicken Fried Steak was superb! Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! Cream gravy poured over that and my garlic mashed potatoes next to some green beans! Heaven! I added a side of broccoli and rice casserole which was the best I’ve ever had and apparently a customer favorite. Rolls and cornbread, yum! Peach Cobbler and two scoops of ice cream closed this one out! Best meal I’ve had in Waco, by far. Stephanie was my server. She was amazing and never let me be in need. Give that gal a raise! So glad I found this place! 😋

A Waco classic meet-up for reliable food, simple drinks, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I had the spinach salad with chicken and it was excellent! Well seasoned chicken over fresh spinach with bacon, mushrooms, and purple onion. I had ranch and balsamic served on the side. Perfect blend of flavors and a hearty serving size. Hubby had the crazy wings-chicken breast with cheese and a slice of pickled jalapeño inside, all neatly wrapped in bacon! Served fresh with ranch for dipping. (The chicken could have used a little seasoning before being wrapped up, just to bring more flavors, but it was still tasty.) Food was served quickly. Server was friendly. George’s is our tried-and-true spot whenever we head to a Baylor game! We’ve been coming here since 2000, and it’s become a family tradition that my wife and daughters absolutely love. The food never disappoints, the atmosphere is always welcoming, and those schooners of ice-cold beer are clutch every single time. Consistently great and always a highlight of our trips to Waco!

Recommended by a local friend, we were not disappointed at this restaurant! Great, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Wide variety of items on the menu and VERY AFFORDABLE - we are already planning what we'll have on our return visit! 😀 my wife settled on the Cry Baby Burger w onion rings, and I on the lunch special Chicken Fried Steak. I have to say, the onion rings were probably some of the best we've had. She loved the burger and the homemade jalapeño bun. I thought the green beans were also tops on my list, and the CFS breading was just as tasty as the breading on those onion rings. However, the meat was about 80% the size of the breading. It was still so tasty it was good by itself! The gravy was nothing special, though. I wish it was homemade, but it tastes like a generic powder mix. Creamy, but not much flavor. All in all, this is a wonderful place, with the managers walking around greeting customers and attentive servers. We'll definitely be back ! - UPDATE: We're back again, and everything was still sooo delicious! Nephew's Chicken was my attempt at a "lighter" dish (which it was!). The mixed veggies were cooked to perfection! My daughter's Steak Finger's from the kids menu were an awesome deal! That breading is out of this world! And the fried mushrooms probably the best we've had. Once again, thank you for another great meal and such great value! 🍻❤️👍

The food here is great, but I wanted some of their amazing onion rings to munch on for my drive to Ft Worth. I walked in to order, and it took sooooooooo long to get them. I literally waited 25 minutes. They also have some t-shirts for sale in the front waiting area, I think I memorized them all waiting. Lol Maybe ordering ahead is a better option, because they were not even busy inside and like 4 people were standing up front chatting. But, the rings were super delicious as always. A full order can feed a lot of folks. The stars are for the food only, not the service but I know the front has nothing to do with the cook time.

Onion rings, chicken fried steak, broccoli salad, and rolls were very good. I did not care for the fish, cole slaw, nor the burnt sweet potatoes.

Good food, authentic. It was pretty slow when we went, so it was quiet. The waiter was very attentive and made sure we knew what was being ordered, considering it was authentic. True mexican cheese echiladas, delicious! Drink was good as well and tasted just as fresh as it looked!

While we waited to be seated, we notice the ice cream machine area was dirty. Proceeded to be seated and our waitress was friendly. The food was disgusting and we wouldn’t recommend this place. One star) Milanesa and lemonade: chicken had no flavor and it tasted like it was made in the microwave, fries were stale, lemonade tasted like plain water Two stars) Steak, shrimp and enchilada: no flavor, tastes like it was microwaved One star) Tacos Al Pastor: no flavor, tortillas were cold, and our guest tummy started to hurt after eating the first taco. Refused to try the rice since the beans were also bad One star) Flauta Plate: no flavor, not crispy, soggy as if it was microwaved One star) Cheese Enchila: sauce tasted burnt General Manager needs to review the quality of the food that’s going out to his/her customers. This is unacceptable. We paid way over $100 for poor food quality.

We usually come during lunch hours, and the crowd is always decent but not too much. Just enough of the buzz from everyone, which is nice. The food is always amazing! The salsa is more of a honemade flavor without the dried chili in it. Thin, chunky and delicious!Service is also good. I have had no real issues, but I want to highlight Carlo. He works up in the elevated area to the right of the entrance and is amazing!!! He is always so friendly and professional. One gripe is the sopapillas. They are crispy and thin and not my personal preference. I like them softer and a little thicker. Other than that we will be back.

First visit and dang was it good, the salsa was super fresh, queso was tasty, all the meals we had are excellent, service was a bit slow but we didn't mind having drinks and catching up with our Bear...

Group of 9 people stopped in for lunch. The parking is ample and it was not crowded. Complimentary chips and salsa are served warm (tasty!) and adult beverages are available. Margaritas were good. They have a large menu and offer a daily weekday luncheon special. Off the regular menu I had the Dos Amigos plate..which is 2 cheese enchiladas, rice and beans. Others had the Chicken enchilada plate, and the Chili Relleno plate. Food was good but not exceptional. Prices are reasonable, as well. The problem is that the service was poor. Took about a half hour to get the lunch entrees, and almost as long to process our tabs. Yes, we were a group of nine, but this was noteworthy. Unfortunately, since otherwise not a bad meal.

The chicken fajita chimichanga was delish!! The salsa was just the right heat and the chips were great. The meat on the brisket nachos tasted off somehow so won’t order those again. A little pricey.

Cafe Rosa is a blend between a fast food restaurant and a regular restaurant. I like the ease of placing an order and then picking it up minutes later. Serving portions are just right and there’s no skimping. The value for your money is great and that’s why we would tend to go to Rosa other than some other Mexican restaurants. The only drawback that I found is that the food is not piping hot like normal Mexican restaurants, Where the server Place your plate down on the table holding the potholder. The chips unfortunately are stored in an open container rather than a heated bin and so they’re not as crisp, hot and fresh. Oh, and you don’t get free refills on your chip basket.

Got our order in drive thru, ordered 2 #55 & 3 #23 with jalapeñosin the side, unlike other restaurants serving tostados where you can taste and feel the texture of the refried beans, these were soggy, refried beans had a sauce texture :( I had to use a fork to eat a tostado. Geez!! So much for a crisp corn tortilla. No jalapeños on the side and the wrapped in paper tortillas were cold. Now I know why it's been SO long since I've eaten at this location. Really? We can't do better??

I have eaten at Rosa's Cafe all over Texas....the food and service are always been consistent at every one. Fast service always! Big menu with great dishes. I recommend the fresh tortillas...made on site hourly....you can watch them being made! Stop in and try a dish.

Delicious Mexican comfort food. Ordered a burrito that was heavier than a car and have never been so full and satisfied, and the price was the best part. This is the place to go to get a quick meal after a long day.

Best Korean propaganda I've experienced since watching K-pop Demon Hunters. The oriental fries are the best fries I have had in Waco. The potato soup and fried rice is incredible. The salad is excellent. Those were just the accompanying sides, which were not small in size and made us feel like we were getting exceptional value from the price of meal. The entrées themselves are quite good. The flavor on the beef bulgogi was top-notch and the gravy accompanying the chicken fried steak was excellent. If there can be one area of improvement, it is with the tenderness of the meat—both the chicken fried steak and the beef bulgogi were tougher than my liking but not too much as to detract from the value of the meal. We definitely will come again.

Opened in 1975 this local favorite is definitely a must stop. It’s small and cozy but I love how it feels inside. It feels very cozy and welcoming. Reminds me a lot of the 80’s and 90’s restaurants because of the decorations and ambiance. I really appreciated it. We were sat down immediately at 5pm which is nice. 5pm on a Saturday could be a risk going out to eat and having or wait for a table. Our server was friendly. The food is really the best part which explains why it has such high esteem in the community. You absolutely must try the beef bulgogi. It’s incredibly tender and flavorful. I was also very impressed with my burger. It was simple but full of flavor. The oriental fries were also very good and the onion rings were crispy. We will be back to try the bulgogi burger next time!

This restaurant has literally been here for decades! The house vegetable fries are absolutely delicious and if you just want a quick snack these are the way to go! I ordered a single patty cheeseburger and it was delicious! The tomatoes lettuce and onions were all freshly cut and still cold. My bun was toasted and the whole burger could not have tasted better. If you're just having a casual lunch and want to go dressed in shorts and t-shirts, this place is for you. All three of us were stuffed when we left here and the price did not break the bank. Three burgers and two of the veggie fries or $27. For three people, that is extremely affordable

What a great burger and the staff was great! The mother and daughter team did excellent and the food came out so fast! They close at 4 and we walked in at 3:15 with the best greeting from the daughter and they weren’t frustrated that we came in last minute. Love love love this place!!

I realize I'm probably the only one with this review but I'm not going to sugar coat anything. This was my first time eating here and I went with my bf. The employees were very welcoming, the atmosphere was quiet and it's very clean inside. The food however could use some help. We heard such good things about this place and we were very disappointed. The fried shrimp was mushy, the soup they have, which was chicken and potato was bland and disgusting. Bolgolgi wasn't very good. My bf actually threw up in the parking lot after we paid and left. The food there just didn't seem fresh, like it was all store bought and just overcooked and very tasteless. I'm very disappointed especially after hearing great things about this place and we decided to finally give this place a shot. We will not be going back.

We always dine-in and get the burgers and the oriental fries. Both of those options are always consistently fresh when we order them and taste great when dining in. The staff is very kind and the prices are great as well. Also most likely the only place in Waco where you can slightly scratch your itch for Korean tangsuyuk.

The food was delicious and the portions were large enough for 2 people to share. The service was a little lacking. My wife’s food did not arrive until I was done with my food, might have been the cooks fault, or they might have dropped it in the kitchen. The oriental fries were delicious potato strings with broccoli and onions fried up. I would try this place again.

We found this place on google looking for a good burger in Waco and man we sure found it. They welcomed us in and made us feel like home. We had a stroller with us in this very small restaurant which is really not stroller accessible and they took time to make room for us to be seated comfortably. They Checked on us frequently and the food came out fast. Everything we had was delicious hot and fresh. The staff worked as a team to make sure everyone’s experience was enjoyable. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a small old school burger joint!

This is by far one of the best restaurants in the area. I have recently located to the area, and found this place. This is one of my hideaway places to go when I need a break. The staff is super friendly all the time and know you by name, food is absolutely the best made to order when you order it. NOTHING is pre made!! This place is always filled with friendly hungry people, who are the regulars.

If you know me, im all about the cheeseburgers. If youre lucky enough to be traveling through Waco it's a must stop! Love the vintage, yester-year vibe and yeah they make a great cheeseburger. They also serve breakfast ill have try next time.

Cups Drive Inn has made a lot of Waco history since 1929. This legendary diner is a Clean Plate Award recipient from KWTX-TV, the CBS television network affiliate for the Waco area. Many changes over the years have taken place, but still the owner and staff are committed to a truly great experience for customers. I like their hamburgers because the bun is toasted well, and the burger patty is seasoned and grilled until it is medium well to well done, but still is juicy and not dry. The quality of toppings like pickles and lettuce is also great. All food is made fresh and on an as ordered basis. Their French fries are made from fresh potatoes cut right in the restaurant, that are rinsed in water to wash them and remove starch. Then they are deep fried and prepared like Boardwalk style fries, which are not crispy fries, but have a fairly firm outer shell, and have a soft mashed potato like inside. They are then seasoned with their special French fry seasoning. This style of fries is my favorite. The portion of fries is a reasonable size as well, served in a paper lined basket. Sorry that I have no pictures of my order. I did include, as of this posting, the most recent menu for you to see ahead of time. Definately will be glad to return to Cups when I go to Waco again. You can get a burger and fries at a similar price to a Wendy's burger and fries, but get a better value at Cups Drive inn.

My husband and I stopped by and decided to get burgers and fries, and I couldn’t resist getting cheese fries too. The food was absolutely amazing, and it’s no surprise the place was packed when we got there and still buzzing when we left. My burger was so juicy and flavorful, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The only thing I’d say is the space felt a little tight with so many people inside, but that’s just a sign of how popular it is. We really enjoyed our meal, and if we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely be back!

The folks working there were friendly, helpful, and just plain nice people. Unfortunately, this did not compensate for the food or environment. There is a fine line between vintage and old, and cupps is in desperate need of an update inside (or at least a good scrub down). The patties are bought premade, and no seasoning is added. Cupp's, whizzbangs, and dubl-r are all very similar, and I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. Try Tom's Burgers, Burgertology, or even Health Camp.

He recommended the Tacos Al Carbon which I hadn’t noticed, with both varieties (beef and chicken) and the salsa verde which was awesome! He did a great job (Thanks Jesus). When I got home the food wasn't what it was supposed to be. Every time we come here we get excellent service and the food is absolutely delicious! The margaritas were good, on the rocks was better than the frozen. Our server Dillon was great, he went above and beyond. This is truly a family restaurant and they make you feel like part of the family. Great job El Conquistador!

Being native Texans living out of state we crave authentic Tex-Max when we travel back to visit family & friends. El Conquistador didn’t disappoint!! Loved everything from the salsa & chips to the margaritas & Texas sized draft beer to our tacos, enchiladas & tamales!! Had the best waiter who took great care of us. Definitely put them on your list for your go to Mexican restaurants 😉

Good basic Tex Mex. I ordered nachos and they were made just the way I like. Chips, beans, cheese and jalapeño. The salsa is pretty wimpy if you’re wanting something spicy. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

We came back to the restaurant and we delighted that our hostess, Stella, was there. She is so knowledgeable about the menu, friendly, and very accommodating. We liked the food, too. The coffee was tasty and I really like that they offer a full assortment of sweeteners like Splenda, Sweet-n-law, etc. Would recommend.

Some of the best Tex Mex in Waco!! I'm a huge fan of the fish tacos. They can be a little too sauce sometimes but put it on the side and you can put just the right amount for your taste. Fantastic and attentive staff, always smiling from the time you arrive until the time you leave. Its a great family business that has been serving Waco as long as I can remember. A truly great dining experience for our hometown!

Awesome restaurant! Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Great prices for the portions you get. I got the Casa Castillo Dinner and had a ton of great food and leftovers to go. Our waiter was probably the best I've seen. She refilled our chips when they got low, got us replacement drinks when they were half empty, to-go drinks as well, constantly checking on us. Excellent experience!

Our dinner with family was amazing! Loved the atmosphere, the family operation, friendly staff, and excellent food! We ordered the queso to go with our chips and salsa which were immediately delivered to our table upon arrival. I ordered the sweet tea based on someone else’s review and it was perfect and fresh. I ordered the (#9) Combination dinner which was a Chili Relleno (Beef & Cheese filling), cheese enchilada (changed for chicken) and beef taco!! It came with refried beans and rice and was absolutely delicious! Generously sauced with melted cheese. My honey ordered the Carne Guisada and it was like Mexican pot roast to me! A little spicy if you like heat, and so yummy! The reviews on it were why we ordered it! Family had Combination Fajitas (Beef, Chicken & Shrimp), a Chicken Chimichanga and Pork Carnitos Taco Dinner. No complaints from anyone! We were so glad we stopped! Service was amazing as our drinks, chips and salsa stayed filled while we dined. The place was bustling with customers on Friday night! My girl loves to get the number ten its a beef burrito with queso on top with rice and charro beans and I love the steak quesadilla meal with rice and refried beans and quacamole on the side. Great place great atmoshere everytime I show up the food is delicious and thats one thing that will never change.

Waitress was great! Very attentive and kindhearted. The food was fresh and delicious, the sweet tea was soooo gooood and I’m a sweet tea lover. The atmosphere was amazing and the restaurant is super clean and the restrooms were too. Overall it was a great experience for my first time.

Great little hidden gem. When my food arrived, I took my 1st bite and I thought my aunt was cooking in the kitchen. It was so authentic and homemade. The food did tale awhile to come out, but now I understand why. It was homemade and from scratch. I will make it a point to eat there everytime I'm in town.

Went for breakfast. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Two breakfast tacos and coffee was ordered. The tortillas tasted homemade. One taco was chorizo, potato and cheese. I enjoyed eating it with the green salsa. The other taco was ground beef, potato and Pico de gallo. That taco was also very tasty. The coffee was ok. The restaurant was very clean. Very limited parking. I will be back when I come through Waco.

Truly authentic Mexican food. I had the guisado con puerco and it was delicious. They also have several salsas with varying degrees of spiciness including an aged guava and hibiscus salsa. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into everything they make.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, not just Tex/mex, this is the place to go. The food is off the charts good, won’t be surprised to see this place on the Food Network someday.

Definitely do not recommend this place. We saw this place had amazing reviews and thought we would give it a try! Absolutely disappointed! The food was definitely not worth the price we paid. My daughter wanted cheese enchiladas but they put the green sauce on enchiladas. All of our beans were cold and the waitress acted like she didn't know how to fix it. When we got fresh hot beans they were very bland and had no flavor whatsoever. And my husband got beef fajitas which probably wasn't even enough food for a kids meal. I really wanted to like this place but just couldn't as even though we were the only ones in there the service was terrible! I had to go find her multiple times because we needed something and she was nowhere to be found.

Excellent breakfast tacos. The tortillas are fresh and not store bought. I thought I was going to take a while in the drive thru, but as soon as I pulled up someone came outside to my truck in the drive thru to take my order. Excellent customer service at the window as well. They only take cash FYI. The tacos were amazing as well.

Quiet mom and pop mexican restaurant serving just breakfast and lunch. Everything's homemade. I've tried the burritos and spanish omelets. Both were amazing and full of flavor. Drive-thru and cash only. There might be a tiny wait but the food is delicious and well worth it!

Fabulous food! "Hole in the wall" is accurate, but you don't go to a taqueria (Mexican fast food) necessarily for the atmosphere--it's about the food! I visited Waco from Wisconsin, and went here based on its 4.6 star rating. I agree with 4.6! I had the Oso Enchiladas (pork with green sauce). Excellent! Their tortillas are hand-made. No chips and salsa, but food is "muy sabor"!

Always have a pleasant experience dining here. Staff is polite and helpful. The food is always delicious and our table is always served chips and salsa even before we order. I don’t drink but the bar is stocked to the brim with all kinds of drinks.

Went with friends. First time trying this restaurant out. Friendly wait staff, great salsa and chips. Homemade corn tortillas were good. Wish they had homemade flour ones though. Price was good. Small parking lot.

My food was not what we ordered first off. The plate I ended up with was like a fajita plate with no flavor crunchy onions & peppers and meat so tasteless that I wanted to add fajita seasoning to the whole thing. My order beef fajita cooked in tomatoes and onions with jalapenos. Not 1 tomato or jalapenos in the plate. This was really a bad experience for my family and we used to love this place. Not much now after it seemed like it started skimping on the love of their food.

Very good food, great ambiance and friendly staff. We had the delicious Menudo, on a Thursday, which is unheard of any where. The rice and beans in the combination plate was cooked perfectly. The kids enjoyed a nice Mexican Shrimp Cocktail. Tasteful Mexican music played in the background at a nice volume level. All staff was very friendly and gave great customer service. The whole restaurant, including restroom was presentable and clean. Will definitely be back and recommend you stop by.

In picture is the shrimp cocktail and enchiladas. The food was really good and so were the chips and salsa that were offered. A really good place if you are in the area and love Mexican food. The shrimp cocktail was really the hero here. I never tried something like this before so it was very appealing and also very tasty. 10/10 would recommend.

From a recommendation from a lady that cut my hair we went and what a great little unknown secret discovery. The service was fast and very personable. The food was just perfect. We got the fajita for 2 please. I am a crunchy taco fanatic so I got one. The food was yum yummy in the tummy good. One thing my wife kept saying was "here's another shrimp". Visit on 7/11 We were visiting from out of town and were recommended this place, so we were looking forward to our experience. That said, I believe this restaurant may be better suited for smaller parties—perhaps four or fewer—based on our visit as a group of ten. When we arrived, the hostess seemed visibly irritated when we mentioned our party size, even though we were polite and patient. Once we were seated, it took quite a while for our server to greet us and take our drink orders. Unfortunately, the service throughout the meal continued to be slow and inattentive. The server appeared overwhelmed and seemed frustrated when we made standard requests such as refills or additional items. At times, she expressed that she was too busy and had other tables to attend to, which made us feel like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. We understand that large parties can be challenging, especially during busy hours, but a little more communication or a heads-up would have helped us adjust our expectations. If staff are feeling overwhelmed, it might be helpful for management to reassess how tables are assigned, particularly for servers who may be struggling to keep up. We always enjoy eating here. Food is great, parking is tough for husband who is handicap and has to walk from the paid parking behind the hippodrome or when there is event traffic, you have to park even further away. The staff is small so be patient, sometimes it takes a minute to get to you. We love the salsa and black beans with delicious chips. My husband had the Parillada and I enjoyed the Steak Aguachile for the first time and really liked the flavor. It doesn't not come with rice and beans but that was ok for lower carbs. I normally enjoy the Carnitas as well. Overall, we still enjoyed our meal and happy hour drinks from 3-6 pm

Great atmosphere and food. The hostess seemed to be having a bad day and lacked energy. Once seated it took more than 20 before we saw the waitress for the drink order. It was not busy, so maybe it an oversight. Regardless, we were not in a hurry and everything was great after the bad start. I had huevos divorciados for brunch. The picture doesn’t look great, but it was very good. Even the side of beans was worth eating. One day I will come back for some mezcal.

We were looking for a quick bite to eat before the concert. Served with margaritas and water. Snacking on the free chips with a roasted salsa and bean salsa as well. The guys decided upon enchiladas while I was looking for a good street taco 🌮. The server was really great and attentive. The bathrooms lead to hallway that resembles a movie theater leaving us with questions? I’d go back again. Priced decently.

Very good menu with well thought out & popular offerings. The cocktails were great, I tried El Viejo Old Fashioned (twice) and it was perfect both times. Very large spirit selection. We look forward to returning!

Super cool spot in old town Waco near many attractions. My lunch carnitas were delicious. The cold beer and outdoor sidewalk seating made it a relaxing lunch.

I heard about this place from the locals and decided to give it a try. First, let me say that this place closes early, so make sure to plan accordingly. I ordered the full "PORK GUT PACK," which comes with brisket, sausage, cheese, jalapeños, fritos, and other toppings to your liking. The food was decent, I would like more flavor as the meats didn't have that smokey bbq flavor I was looking for. Pretty decent portions what you paid for. All in all, I recommend at least giving this place a try if you're looking for some BBQ.

Yummo! The beef brisket was so tasty, the coleslaw had a great flavor. The star of the show was the Mac and cheese! Wowww that cheese sauce would make anything taste good. Next time I think I just need a gallon or so of that Mac and cheese lol. Employees were super nice, the meals are fairly priced. Will definitely be back every time I go through Waco!

We went here for dinner at around 7pm. They close at 8pm so we went in expecting the meats to be a little dry. When we got there it was really busy. There’s was a line to order but it went by pretty quick. All the tables and booths were taken up luckily one opened up when we were ready to sit. I think this place wants to maximize the amount of people that can dine but all the tables sit 4-8 people or more. Most groups were 2 people so the 2 people would take up an entire booth designed for 6 people or more. I would recommended Viteks to get more 2 people sittings. The food was in fact a little dry but it was still really good. The flavor was great and I know if I return it’ll be during the lunch meal and I can have higher expectations on the freshness. I recommend going early since when we went they were almost running out of brisket, they were out of ribs, and green beans. So the earlier the better. The Mac n cheese was amazing though. Everything tasted great. I feel if I went there at 11am it would easily get 5 stars.

Prices where fair. I bought half pound of brisket and 1 pound of ribs. They gave me way too much food. Im not sure if it's standard or that man is mad at the owner. Anyways I liked it and will be back.

I was in Waco for an event and this place was recommended by a co-worker. The place has been in business since 1915 so you know they've been consistently good for a while. I tried a bit of everything and still had enough to bring leftovers for the wifey. One of their signature items is called the "Gut Pack" which comes in a full/half order, I did the 1/2. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious and had a great flavor. The brisket and turkey were both moist and flavorful. The 3 cheese mac and cheese side dish is a must if you're a mac fan. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Great customer service, staff knows the menu well and gives great suggestions. We loved that they have half portions if you are watching what you eat or want to try a bit of everything, we got a full order of Nachos with a sub for Brisket instead of pull pork, chose sour cream, Pico de Gallo and beans on the side (for picky eaters), a half order of the gut pak, a turkey sandwich (the pepper on the bark is spicy so watch out for the kids) all delicious and saucy.

Had the best lunch here recently and even ordered an item they do not have on menu. They happily obliged my request (shrimp burrito bowl) and were very friendly. Service was quick and the chips and salsa divine! If you ever order to go, ask for the chip salsa instead of the red to go salsa. Hands down the best in the area. If you have small children, there is a small outdoor seating area for them to run around. Definitely adding to favorites!

First time coming here. The town people loved this place and I said what’s the best food and the recommendation was this place. The inside is a neat little setup with a small bar to the left. It also had an outdoor patio. I got a yogurt bowl and this amazing taco with a dipping sauce and pickled onions. It was filling but didn’t make me feel overly full.

Stopped in while passing through town. So glad I did! Very clean and pleasant dining area. The staff is very friendly and polite. It was lunchtime and there were only 4 other parties in the restaurant. Food came out quickly and with a nice presentation. I had the birria taco plate. Awesome taste and plenty of food with the three taco. Served with chips and salsa and under $13 with water to drink. Overall a great experience and highly recommend.

Looks nice on the outside, but beans taste like out of a can and they had hot dogs in it🤢, pico de gallo was not fresh at all🤢, steak meat taste more gamey, so not sure if that fresh enough. Drive thru girl was pleasant and food served fairly fast….and green salsa side was the best out of the entire: Steak Bowl. Came out @$18 for this lunch.

The food here is great! Everything we've tried has been delicious! The service is good and the restaurant is comfortable. There's not a ton of seating so you may want to get here early.

They have the best burritos in Waco by far. They do have one glaring weakness which is the red salsa as it has gotten better its still more tomato soupish however everything else is amazing especially the green salsa for the burritos.

This restaurant must be put on your very regular schedule! Presentation was so impressive as all of the food is fresh, even the custom homemade salsa. The meat was marinated for 24 hours and cooked and served hot and fresh. The staff were so kind, Susie, and the owner came to the table and offered us to try a different special hot sauce he makes and was so unique, we took a pint home! They are adding a food truck to serve breakfast over by common grounds on Franklin! Best Mexican food in Waco.

My table of four was very pleased with our meal, the service, and the atmosphere. Each of us ordered different meals. We had cod, corn quesadillas, flour quesadillas, flour tacos, street corn, guacamole, salsa, queso, and I had a margarita. Prices are on par with other sit down restaurants. Please note that the restaurant is nestled between other businesses in a large, white stucco building with parking available on the street and in the parking lot. We will definitely be back!

Perhaps best Mexican food in Waco. Wife and I decided to look for a Mexican food place we hadn’t eaten at before, saw the great reviews and decided to give it a try. We live like 8 blocks from the restaurant and never even knew about it. The food we had was amazing and will definitely return to try other things. They had perhaps the best chips and salsa I’ve had but be warned I feel it is a bit pricey for just chips and salsa. I’ll over look it though because of had great it was. Other prices I feel are totally on point for the quality of food you get.

I'm going to be so honest and transparent, as someone who is well traveled and really appreciates authentic food, this is the best Latin restaurant I have ever been to. The interior is cute as heck, the drinks were delicious (and strong). But THE FOOD?! Tender, plates come out steaming, so well seasoned and delicious. Not being dramatic when I say I teared up. Plates got CLEARED. I don't even like to leave reviews but this place deserved the business. Everyone here is so polite and attentive. I was just passing through Waco to see family and we stumbled upon this place on a whim, we will definitely be back every time we pass through Waco. I would ignore the bad reviews, the flavor and seasoning are authentic and some people can't handle that which is fair. But from the service, the workers, the food, the presentation; 10's across the board. P.S. The Carne Asada Fries & Chicharrones are worth fighting over.

Fantastic food!! The Totopo dip trio is so yummy, and we love the carnitas tacos - the meat is so flavorful!! They also have a variety of unique margaritas/cocktails, and everything is homemade and you can taste the quality. We will definitely be coming back regularly!

Very very good! We had the Chips and Dip trio, Torta Asada, Chili Relleno de Camarones, and the Tres Leches De Horchata and they were all incredible!! Friendly staff and a very cozy atmosphere. Would definitely come back again if I was in the area.

The food was good, and the margarita was tasty, but it’s a letdown to pay for chips and salsa when the area is full of Mexican restaurants offering them free with better food.

Gem of a place. The food was delicious. Their buttermilk biscuits are the best I've ever had...even more than those at Magnolia Table. The staff is so friendly. Their little store in the main entrance area is FUN, but if you schedule your time there right, you can visit and enjoy all the Homestead village shops and atmosphere. Worth the time. I recommend a reservation.

Well that was quite the incredible accidental discovery. On our autumn road trip getaway to San Antonio, we were looking for lunch outside Waco. My wife ran a Google search for "restaurants near me" and in the top of the list was Homestead Cafe. We were on I35 so it wasn't exactly "near" but the drive through the country was worth a few miles. The cafe is the heart of a beautiful craft community. The staff was wonderful. The atmosphere is warm and rustic. My wife enjoyed the wagu burger and my the wagu brisket tacos we among the best I have ever savored. Best of all, a classic car rally had made a stop here. Wow!

Cafe Homestead has amazing guacamole and salsa. Everything is mostly made in house or locally sourced. The atmosphere is family friendly and the community around is perfect to explore. I come down from DFW at least once a year at least just to eat here. The service is fantastic, and today Jessica was our server who kept that stellar service going. I recommend making a reservation and giving yourself time to park and walk around the grounds as it’s always busy.

We had such a great experience at Cafe Homestead! The food was absolutely amazing — everything was fresh and full of flavor. I finally made my way to Cafe Homestead and it was a true delight. My waiter, Brandon, was very kind and knowledgeable of the menu items to select for me a good choice. I chose the Sriacha burger, fries and the corn fritters with a Lemonade Peach tea. The food was absolutely delicious. The inside of the restaurant is warm and welcoming and not at all noisy. So my dining experience was quite enjoyable, up until a young lady came over and begin spraying some sort of cleaning agent to prepare the tables for the next guest. I've come to notice this trend being practiced at several mainstream restaurants and for me personally, it is annoying to be subjected to smelling chemicals and spray being aerialized around guests who are eating. This is why I lowered my rating from 5 to a 4 star because of this annoying trend. Would I recommend this restaurant, yes. Would I return for the good food, yes. But I hope that management after reading this review will be mindful to their cleaning practices around its paying guest because I do not care to see chemicals being sprayed around while I'm trying to enjoy my meal.

We last visited Cafe Homestead in the Fall of 2022 before the original restaurant burned down. When planning another trip to Waco for my daughter's birthday, we read the story about the unfortunate situation, but we were very glad to hear about the rebuilding of the facility. 18 weeks from the time it burned down to coming back online is nothing short of amazing. This trip was not unlike the last, in that the food, service and overall experience were simply fantastic. I had the Chicken Fried Steak, which continues to be the best I've ever had. All four of us were stuffed and quite satisfied after our meal. Next time we plan on spending more time exploring the area shops and activities. Highly Recommend!

Hearty great food prepared from scratch like Grandma used to make! The bestest salads! The ranch dressing is just awesome. Desserts made from scratch are soooo good! Even the tea is just fantastic! Get the peach tea or Cream Earl Gray in cooler weather. Friendliest, most polite staff. Beautiful building with lots of handcrafted touches. So much fun shopping around the restaurant whilst you wait! One of our favorite places!

Fun retro diner with 50s car theme and candy colored leather booths. Their menu varies a bit between the week and Sunday but they're consistent with making Caesar salad table side and providing family style vegetable side dishes for the table. I especially enjoyed the chicken breast and creamed corn. The have booth, table, and bar seating in a large inside dining room as well as a few umbrella tables outside. There is street parking on surrounding blocks.

We headed here after visiting the Dr Pepper museum. We (3 seniors, 3 adults and our grandson) were greeted by the owner who took us straight to a table for 7. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The food was great and everyone got something they enjoyed. On our experience we would highly recommend. Genuinely worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I am a 19 year old college student and they definitely took advantage of it. We went on a Sunday, and they have a different menu on Sunday. My sister and I asked to split an $18 chicken tender meal and the waitress said sure. Our bill ended up being $33 and we asked why. They had charged us for a random “veggie plate” and said anyone who eats has to be charged. We said we understood, but we split a meal. I only had a singular chicken tender and they charged us an addition $15. When we asked what the veggie plate was they couldn’t explain it to us. They just said they had to charge us for extra since we both ate food and it was policy. Both the manager and waitress were very rude to us and acted like we were dumb just for asking why they charged us. The manger continued to repeat “it’s on the menu sweetie just look at the menu.” So we looked at the menu after we left, and it wasn’t on the menu! I really feel like we were taken advantage of as young girls because we weren’t great at standing up for ourselves. The waitress also accidentally brought out an extra drink and I told her I would take it if she was just going to dump it, and they ended up charging us for that as well. They took it off very belligerently after this whole ordeal and acted like they did us a favor. Overall food was not amazing for the price, waitress and manager were pretty rude, and they only care about the money.

I recently visited Jake’s Texas Teahouse and tried a few of their offerings. The atmosphere is really charming, and the service was excellent—friendly and attentive throughout our meal. As for the food, I had the chicken fried steak with fries and fried okra. While the sides were tasty, the chicken fried steak wasn’t quite my favorite. I felt the gravy could use a little more flavor to complement the dish. On the bright side, I also had the Cadillac Melt with a Caesar salad, and it was pretty good! However, a touch of salt and pepper would have made it even better. The decor is cozy and nostalgic, filled with classic touches that create a welcoming, throwback vibe. It’s a great spot for families with kids and anyone who enjoys taking in some old-school charm while they dine. Overall, the dining experience was enjoyable thanks to the warm service and great atmosphere. I’m sure with a few small tweaks to the seasoning, this place will be even better!

I've visited a few local restaurants in Waco, and all of them were really good, I went here for lunch to see if I could keep up that streak, and this restaurant surely didn't break it. Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Me and my parents got rather basic meals, but even then, they were all really good. I recommend trying their more interesting foods though, I'm sure those are even better. I got the BLT, my mom got the regular burger, and my dad got a chicken sandwich, all came with a side of fries, for my meal I added some watermelon along with my side of fries as well. Everything tasted really fresh and was packed with flavor. The buns were toasted perfectly along with the meat, and the mayo and condiments were really good as well. My watermelon was pretty good too, I was expecting an average watermelon, but the freshness and the nice balance of sweetness and flavor made it a little extra special. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much were the fries. They were a little mushy but had a home style taste. I appreciated that it wasn't loaded with salt too, but I would've liked more seasoning on it. It's not enough to bring it down a star because I enjoyed it overall, including the meals. Definitely recommend the food. Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The waiters were nice and consistently checked up on us to see how we liked the food or if we needed anything else. It wasn't anything special, but it was great overall. The food came out pretty quickly, and we spent about 30 minutes in the restaurant, great service overall and there weren't any major problems Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think an atmosphere deserves five stars when it's not just good, but great, and special in a way. This place had so much old fashioned detail and there was a lot to look at while you sat down. Something else I thought was neat was that there were notes inside the crevices in the brick wall of the restaurant. They each had a message inside to read and was something I distracted myself with while I waited for my food. Another cool detail was that the food was served in hubcaps, you can't tell with my pictures, since it was covered in food and was shown on the bottom of the plate. Overall, really awesome atmosphere and it wasn't too cramped either. I was really satisfied with this place overall. The atmosphere and the food is what made this place stand out among the rest. I wanted to try their pies but ended up being too full. That's something else this place is known for apparently. Props to the owner for a great restaurant!

I never make reviews on places but this is terrible. The renewed menu items are terrible, all of the food came out room temp not even warm. The server was awesome! But the food was a nightmare to say the least. Got the spicy chicken and mac and cheese and 90% of the chicken was breading. What chicken was there was probably 1/6 of an actual chicken breast that was clearly hammered flat to look bigger. Paid 70$ for me and my girlfriend to eat here and left upset on how bad the food here was. We also got the French onion soups and it looked absolutely sad and tasted as bad as it looked. 10/10 do NOT recommend the food here

The nachos were super large. We couldn't finish them. Then, the chicken wings I ordered tasted a bit dry. The jalapeno poppers I got separately were the best, and the Blue Moon beer was really good.

Walked in great atmosphere. However took several minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge us. She then had to find menus. The table was sticky. Was informed of our waiter and he would be by to get orders. Waiter finally came by to acknowledge us about 10 minutes later. Took drink order (beer on tap and a double shot, no mixed drinks) and a pop. Came back about 10 minutes later with pop and water said bar tender is still "working on our drinks" beer came out warm. Took order for food and that was the last time we saw our waiter till we asked for the check. Food was brought out by another waitress. Ordered the Peanut butter bacon burger and tots, friend got 10 wings and fries. All the food was room temp at best. The fries looked limp and the wings were dried out. It was like watching someone eat beef jerky. My tots were cold and greasy like they had sat, not even under a warmer. The waiter FINALLY acknowledged us when we asked for the check and asked if everything was ok. We told him no, the beer was warm and the food was cold. He said "sorry about that" and that was it. when he brought the check he stood and waited for my friend to pull out his card... was the most we saw the waiter. Won't be back. Poor food and service. Was super disappointed.

We picked a busy weekend to come here. It was Baylor move in weekend AND a sold out concert that brought 40,000 people into Waco. Understandably the wait was long. Colin came in on his day off and was hosting AND serving a large section. As a host he kept us informed as to the wait time and the reason. Once seated his attention to our party of 6 was prompt and transparent. The food was great and the service was better. Colin encouraged us to take the wait and his service made it worth it. Our table ordered a margarita, not sure what came out. Sugar water and tequila? I orders bone in wings and got boneless. Food wasn't hot, just over room temp. Wings were just meh tasting. Sever had a good attitude and did a good job thou. Overall, wouldn't eat there again

Like it knew what it was doing. Then came the avalanche. Let me take you through it. ⸻ Cocktail – Cowboy Manhattan A measured pour served in a chilled martini glass, punctuated by a mysterious black cherry (or was it an olive?). Not bad, but not memorable. The drink didn’t carry the weight of its name—it leaned more polite than rugged. But it got the job done. 3/5 ⸻ Starter – Stuffed Avocado This was the sleeper hit. Creamy Hass avocado, warm adobo chicken, cool pico, queso fresco—it was balanced. Flavorful. A textural masterpiece. The only mistake? It was built like an entrée. If I’d finished it, I wouldn’t have had room for the rest. As an appetizer, it was too much of a good thing. But still, 4.5/5 for flavor and surprise alone. ⸻ Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts Overcooked, oversauced, overwhelmed. It looked like the sprouts had been roasted, forgotten, then hastily rescued with a bath of sticky, cloying sauce. It didn’t cling—it drowned. Zero elegance. 2/5 ⸻ Redemption – The Chocolate Cake And just when I was ready to walk out with a clean-cut 3-star, in came the miracle. This cake didn’t ask for forgiveness. It demanded silence. A thick, moist brick of deep, dark chocolate, draped in glossy ganache, and topped with delicate shards—almost like cocoa glass. Every bite was rich but not cloying, bold but balanced. It didn’t just redeem the meal—it transcended it. This cake didn’t save the day—it became the day. 5/5. Easily. ⸻ Final Verdict: 4 Stars (Raised by Chocolate Grace) This place fumbled the promise of fine dining with oversized portions and careless presentation—but damn if that chocolate cake didn’t pull it from the fire. That and the avocado made the experience worth it—even if I had to dig through a mess to find the gold. Come for the cake. Stay for the avocado. Bring a friend to split everything else. Bon Appétit.

Located inside the hotel, it’s not a standalone restaurant. Service was great, seating was comfortable and he explained things on the menu we didn’t understand as a first time guest. The pork chops are AMAZING! They deserve five stars on their own. We went around 4pm and there was no big crowd which we preferred.

Pizza. Wings. Beer. And salads lol local craft beer as well as regional and your typical domestics. Slices of pizza are pretty large, a whole pizza comes in 2 sizes and can feed 3 adults (14")or 5 adults (20"). Location is incredible. On the ride, a deck that overhangs the river....absolutely fabulous location 🔥 you're almost a fool to NOT come here!

I wanted to go and have a nice steak and a great time. For starters, it was a nice bar and restaurant, I did my research and it was listed as a top ten places to eat in Waco. I would have to disagree. If you want to go and have a nice drink for a high price, this would be right up your alley. The drinks were good, don’t get me wrong, but that would be the only good thing about this place. We ordered the humus as a starter and it was pretty good. Their drink menu was pretty good, i will say that their blueberry mojito, strawberry summer and their margarita was top notch. We then ordered the potato gnocchi and I was in the mood for a steak, DO NOT go for their steak, you will be disappointed. The staff was friendly but when you ask for a steak medium well and extra seasoning and it comes out looking like they heated it up in the microwave and forgot to season it, well you’re getting a horrible steak, not even worthy of being called a steak. No lie, take a look for yourself…

We enjoyed avacado toast and Texas breakfast plate. Our plates were clean. It was busy, but the service was excellent. The night before, we also had a great experience at the bar. We will be back.

My family checked out Brazos Bar & Bistro for my Birthday. The ambiance was nice. Staff was attentive and food came out in a timely manner. For our starters we went with Green Chile Queso and Shishito Peppers. Both are great. My Barren of Mules was enjoyable and refreshing. My husband when with a stout from Barrow Brewing Co. As for our food both the Thunderbird sandwich and the J.R Ewing Burger tasted average. My husband was not asked how he would like his beef patty cooked so it was well-done. The flatbread was okay, nothing special about it. My Chicken Montelongo was very good. I would recommend it. And the Pork Belly Tacos was not appetizing at all. Everyone that tried it could not eat it. Thank goodness it came with a good amount of sides. Overall the ambiance itself is nice, staff is professional, and drinks are good. As for the food it is quite expensive with flavor comparative to any cheep of fast food restaurant. If you are staying at the hotel it may be a good option. But we will not be going out of our way to visit any time soon.

Quaint cute little local diner. Always great and fresh hamburgers, the best milkshakes, fries or onion rings served with a smile. Always clean and usually busy but it was not when we went this evening. Was nice to get in and have a choice of tables. There’s nothing on the menu that isn’t delicious and it’s something soothing about enjoying your food pretty much prepared right in front of you when you’re at the counter. Definitely recommended and and a frequent stop for my family.

I got the double bacon jalapeño cheeseburger with tator tots and a strawberry malt. The malt I didn’t get a picture of because that quickly bring that out to you first so you can enjoy while you wait! I firmly believe in dessert first because you never know when Christ is coming back! I love the atmosphere which is a very old school vibe. The quality of the food was great. Definitely was not the over processed normal fast food joints. The service was quick and very friendly. Quick to accommodate! I came back a second time the same day to get my boyfriend a take out for his lunch (night shift). I most definitely recommend!

Built in 1949 by successful food cart operators at the old James Connally Air Force base now owned by TSTC and leased by L3Harris. This burger joint is one of the best in town. Their buns are expertly toasted and soft divided by quality 100% ground angus chuck patties!

Front desk lady was rude. Ordered tator tots with my burger but they forgot the tots. When I eventually got them, they were burnt. The staff gets mad when you complain. I guess because it’s just college kids here. Burger was okay. Seems like they use Kraft cheese.

I was craving a great burger from a local joint and knew there was no place better than Health Camp Burgers and Shakes! They’ve been around for quite some time and you know the quality you’ll get here. You have to get a shake; there are many options. I went with a root beer shake and it was delicious.

It's the only Mediterranean that I've found for miles! The food is pretty good, I wish the gyro would have had more veggies. I liked the baba ghanoush, its not super smokey. I actually added it to my gyro because it just seemed like it needed something more. I didn't get fries, but they smelled amazing. The lady taking orders wasn't the friendliest or the most helpful but I assume she's been there since the beginning.

Food is great. Yes it's a little pricy but made fresh. The couple who run it are really nice and friendly. People posting negatives need to give it another try.

My wife and I are visiting from out of town. After we arrived, we realized we had eaten here once before, many years ago. We both had chicken kabobs with different sides. Chicken was excellent. Rice, pita’s, salad and hummus were very good. The gentleman who took our order at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant itself is very basic, but it feels like a family owned business that has been around for years, so no issues. My only slight complaint is that the prices are quite high compared to our hometown Mediterranean choices. If we are visiting Waco again, we would likely return.

Best food I have eaten ever. Best fries- crispy & perfect. Gyro was perfect size & recipe. The meat was filling & satisfying. Did not make me feel sick or heavy afterward. Sweet couple running the place. Prices spot on & IMO, paying correctly. Highly recommend & we will be back!

Stopped in for a late lunch while in town so it was pretty quiet. Definitely a place we'd stop by again next time to try more dishes. As it was, the teenager raved about the Greek chicken salad, and my husband and I really enjoyed the gyro and falafel. I forgot to order pita chips I'd seen in a review pic until after I was already full and noticed them on the salad. Stole a couple and will make room for them next time.

As the other reviews stated. The place is not big. I went on a Saturday around 3. A good time to go. We had the place to ourselves until 4. The food was on point we all loved it. My son loved it. He is a picky eater. We order the kabobs chicken, beef and lamb. Little guy had chicken fingers. I added the picks. A good place to try mom and pops home cook meals.

Our recent visit had some positives, but overall it was underwhelming. Our server was very kind and polite, and while it seemed he was still learning, he did his best to accommodate us. Unfortunately, service was slow and disorganized, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. Several mistakes were made with our orders and separate checks. The food quality was inconsistent. Some dishes, like the brisket quesadilla, had very little meat, and the replacement wasn’t much better. The fish tacos were removed from the bill after we expressed our concerns, which we appreciated. Despite the friendly service, the overall experience didn’t match the price point—we spent nearly $200 and left disappointed. We hope to see improvements in training and food consistency, as the staff clearly cares and wants to do well.

My server was friendly, attentive and always filled my drinks up right as they were empty. Our food came out steaming hot and fresh. Every time I've been here, the staff go above and beyond. One time, several years ago, I spilled my drink all over myself by accident, they replaced my food, and my cup. The server had a sense of humor and gave me a takeaway cup with the lid taped down. I thought that was hilarious and well worth the cash tip I gave on top of the card gratuity. I've not tried the bar drinks yet as I'm usually the driver, but I look forward to it sometime.

This place used to be good. The food tastes so inauthentic now. I mean I knew it wasn't grade A Mexican food but it was a great place to get food. The costs are SOOOO HIGHH now and the food is bland. One person in my party got fajitas which were 25 bucks and they forgot everything that went with it. This used to be a place to go to but I will go elsewhere. Save your money!!

We absolutely loved Luke!! He is such a sweet young man! He has amazing customer service!!! He greeted us with a smile and such a great attitude and personality! The food was so good nice and hot and Luke made sure our drinks stayed full! I hope we get Luke the next time we come in!

We decided to go there for dinner, we were very hungry, but I wish we hadn't. Their food was not tasty to say the least. We ordered fish tacos, enchiladas and chicken strips for the kid. It looked like it was yesterday's food. They probably don't change the oil in the fryer, or they use low-quality fish. The taste was bitter. The waitress was friendly and understanding. She apologized for them 5 times. Although they replaced the dish for us and gave us a good discount, but the impression did not change. Apparently good reviews are written by those who work there.I do not recommend this restaurant.

The one star is only for the food. The waitress spilled multiple cokes on me and made me sticky and soaked on my right side. The manager covered the bill. This is the second time I was not happy at this location. The first time was stale old tea that made me and my husband sick and throwing up. I would not recommend going here. The bartender can't make a drink unless on the menu.

We came here for breakfast and it’s been a while since I’ve had Fuego. I forgot how large the tacos are! Do not underestimate these. Yes some of them are six dollars but with that being said, you truly only need one and two if you are starving. Tacos are very unique. I would definitely recommend the Dr Pepper cowboy.

I've been coming here for years. This one and the one in San Marcos. I know the one here in Waco has gone through some changes over the years. I always get the same thing when I come here so the major changes I've seen were the juices they offer and the salsa. The salsa here used to be amazing now it seems they've downgraded to something cheaper. Also, there used to be... like adult-sized juices sold here. Apple, orange etc in bottles that were like 16 ounces. This time when I came, the lady handed me these little 10 ounce kid-sized drinks and I was really disappointed. Who ever managing this should be ashamed. You had a good product, stop downgrading.

Food was great. Highlight of the experience. The Fuego steak taco was super delicious and probably one of the best tacos I've ever had. The issue is that it took almost an hour to get our food. It may have been an off day, or it was crowded, but on a Friday night in a college town, it seemed understaffed. The service was less than ideal. Staff is friendly and welcoming. But they fail to see small details. Both soda machines did not have any ice, some of the sodas did not dispense and were out, and some tables were not cleaned. And they delieved the wrong food or were unfamiliar with the menu item being delivered. Atmosphere was fine. It's like a Chipotle, or any other counter service restaurant.

I am not one to leave reviews for fast food or ever really complain about fast food service BUT…. Potato, egg, and cheese taco….. I came back because they forgot to add cheese and THIS is what they handed me in my bag. When I pulled back around for the THIRD time, I asked to speak to a manager because…??? Are you serious??? Like does my worst enemy work here?? Turns out - it was the MANAGER who told the girl to hand that back to me. This type of carelessness is just unacceptable and could potentially end up sending a customer to the hospital. I was literally in disbelief. Also no one ever goes to fuego and gets their order 100% correct. Most of the time when I ask for EASY EGG, I get a taco full of egg. It’s fast food - not rocket science 😭 Yall need to vet & train your staff way better.

I waited over 20 minutes in line with only 3 cars ahead of me... Just to get to the window for them to tell me they didn't have what I ordered. I ordered 2 potato and egg tacos, which they said they had when I placed the order. The lady at the window didn't seem like she knew anything. And maybe it was her 1st day. This was 11 PM on Sunday night. This was an absolutely horrible experience. The lady kept shrugging her shoulders like she didn't know or didn't care at the window when I asked what the reason for all the problems were. Their night crew never seems to know what's going on.

Jasper’s is a local favorite. It serves great BBQ. The stars are the brisket and ribs. My usual is the full order (1/2 lb) with brisket and sausage. The gravy, similar to an au jus, has great flavor. I’m pretty sure you could make a meal out of dipping white bread in the gravy! Sides and desserts always look great but I gorge myself on the meat and never make it that far. The real treat at Jasper’s is the staff though! They are incredibly nice and service is top notch!

I love Jasper's Bar-B-Q for so many reasons. This place has been around for so long! It's been around since before I was born. My grandparents would take my mom when she was a kid. My mom and grandparents would take me as a kid, and now that I'm older, I'm bringing myself here! The people that work here are so nice and welcoming. The bbq here is very good!! It still taste the same as I remembered it from when I was a kid. I would usually get a plate, but this time I got a sliced brisket sandwich, and I feel like I should've ordered two!! It was so smoky and tender! You can tell they take their time and put love into the food. I recommend this place because it's a Waco classic, all of their bbq is good, and you can eat in with your family or yourself and enjoy all of the Waco milestones on the wall.

We were travelling from Austin to Fort Worth, had a hankerin for some BBQ. Chose Jasper's as the reviews were good and it looked like the kind of local place we love. We were not disappointed. Everyone was super friendly and the food was fantastic. We had the Taste of Jaspers to share and it was the perfect amount for lunch. Brisket is juicy and tender, ribs were amazing and the sausages were bursting with flavour. Top tip, GET THE GRAVY. Its what us Brits call proper gravy, all the meat juices reduced down into a really punchy brown gravy. Yummy.

Best BBQ in town. Thank you for holding it down! Went a few blocks over one day with the guys from work because yal were closed that Monday for holiday. And the BBQ felt like it came straight out the microwave. Lol just sad Keep making the best BBQ in Waco. And we'll keep on coming!

While passing through Waco, I happened to stumble on this small and family owned BBQ Restruant. The meat is high quality and decent for the price. Their sausages were what stuck out to me as the most flavorful and highest quality when compared to the others. If you're a fan of meat or BBQ in general, then come here! The employees are very friendly and funny too! However, the place takes the rustic look to a whole new level since it was pretty dirty.

Old school feel and the the great service that comes with it. Got a taste of Jaspers to try what they had. Was the perfect size for the two of us. The gentleman giving us sides was so kind and made sure we had what we needed to enjoy our meal. I keep thinking of the sausage and brisket weeks later. Wish I didn’t live states away otherwise would go again, and again. We also went to a hyped up place in Dallas and the food was not the same caliber especially for the price. Highly recommend eating here.

This was more of a Tex-Mex Food. I was looking more like an Authentic Mexican Restaurant. Although the food was good, and so was the desert. Did not have to wait much for the food. The waitress was awesome. The restaurant was clean. The atmosphere was not as loud. We Enjoyed eating there. At the entrance, there is a nice fiesta colorful background to take pictures 📸

My first time. You can park easily. There is one step up to the door but also a ramp. Inside is but large, bright and airy with a semi private area for a big group. Place is clean and welcoming. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Food came in good time and was very enjoyable. Good menu with lunch specials. Will definitely go again.

Met my friend here for a long lunch, he drive up from Austin and I came down from Dallas. The staff was super friendly. The place is reasonably nice. It just seemed a little less when I couldn't get verde sauce. I made a stretch and asked for mole sauce next, still no. So, if you want red sauce or cheese, you're set, otherwise, shop around a bit.

The food has always been real good, but today. Me and my party all agreed that for some reason, it was over the top good. Their wait staff has always been great, but the one today, not so good. My drink ran dry and had to ask for a refill. My food cooled down waiting to get something to wash it down with. Didn't bring us enough chips. Two baskets for a party of 10, come on now. Had to ask for more chips, because we weren't offered refills, when clearly they were bone dry. I know it's not the restaurant. Today's service was an exception.

We are down from out of state, and based on the reviews I read, I was hesitant to go here, but I'm very glad I did. I had the beef fajita burrito, and my wife had the Abuelita's Special. Both dinners were very good! The rice and beans were flavorful. The service was very good as well. I would definitely go back.

We have seen this place many times over the past year. On March 15, 2024 was the day we stopped by about 8:30 AM for breakfast. 1st, we wondered if it was open because the parking lot was basically empty. Then we saw the drive thru. One thing we both noticed on the menu is that any changes made would cost you extra. We both chose to create your own breakfast burrito, large. We both got sausage egg, bean, potato, and Pico de gallo. We also got chips and hot sauce. We both noticed immediately the hot sauce had a different taste, and we thought too much cumin. Anyway wasn't for our taste. The burritos were big, but again, they lacked taste. As we were finishing up I needed to waste my hands, so I went to the men's room and let say it was if I stepped into the side of the road hole in a wall gas station. Ok, the truth, I do make exception time to time for location, but for a $34,$4 tip, breakfast with no bloodmary, this isn't a place I'm going to visit again. As always, keeping real per my experience.

This place use to be the place to be back in the day. I’ve attempted to eat here 3 times and all 3 times have been more than disappointing. This order I placed is way wrong. I did not get what I paid for. Shocker, right? One issue is the salsa. I asked and paid for extra GREEN sauce. I received this absolutely DISGUSTING red sauce. It smells bad. Like really bad. Throw in the trash bad. I tasted it and it definitely is bad. And let’s not forget to add the 2 pieces of egg shells I had the pleasure of enduring. Everything ended up in the trash, where it belongs. Do better!! Especially if you’re gonna overcharge on “large burritos” that end up as a small, or NOT the right ingredients.

A Woodway staple, probably one of the longest running restaurants here besides Shipley’s. The Leal family is wonderful and such a blessing to the community. Love the way you are treated inside - can’t beat the breakfast burrito!!

I was not a fan! 21.00 for two burritos that look like tacos not worth it at all! Average price you pay for two burritos in Waco is 15 bucks. They had absolutely no flavor. I dumped a whole container of red salsa and a whole container of green salsa on my taco / burrito and still tasted nothing. There was no flavor the salsa had no flavor it gave the burrito no flavor. I told my sister, am I tripping or does this taste like nothing? The salsa was watery. All it did was water down my burrito. Then, most places when ordering 2 burritos give you a green and red per burrito. They gave me one red and one green I had to pay for an extra Green in an extra red salsa. Would NOT eat here again.

A bit pricey but definitely satisfied with their breakfast burritos. Smaller than I imagined but filled me up regardless! Their flour tortillas are on point! My only complaint would be their hours.

My wife Marcela and I went to Leals today. The food and service were spectacular. I have been coming here since middle school football days and the food is just as amazing. Do yourself a favor and go try it, you'll be glad you did!

This is authentic Mexican food, not tex-mex like Rosa's down the street. I say that because some of these reviews seem to be looking for more of that flavor and experience.... this isnt that. If you want Abuela's tortillas, and authentic salsa, not picante sauce, and authentic recipes you found your spot. Nothing fancy to the building but who cares its a local Mexican diner that's been in the same location since I was in high-school. Not a date night spot. It's where locals come for breakfast and lunch. If you're offended by Spanish speaking workers, make your own food at home. Its family owned and operated, you're going to feel like part of the family and leave full.

came in the drive thru my food came upside down with a side of greasy utensils and tortillas. called them and all they said was “okay” they obviously don’t care about their customer service. *EDIT* i can’t figure out how to respond directly. this happened yesterday 2/7/24 around 10am or almost exactly at 10am. i did not get my receipt but i can tell you who took my order and who brought me my food, as well as what i ordered.

The only reason I’m giving this place 1 star is because I can’t give 0. The server didn’t even bother coming to our table until 30 minutes later, and that was only after I asked for service. The environment does give off good Mexican vibes, but that’s the only positive thing I can say. The service was absolutely terrible and the food was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the time or money.

Only recommended if like your fried talapia hard to chew, along with the quaint odor of a sewer. I sat by the kitchen doorway, but had to keep asking myself: “ What’s that odor?”. Then I realized it was sewage. You can smell the men’s toilet in the dining area if you take a deep breath. I ordered the fried talapia. It came out hard as a brick. The bartender chased me away from the bar by urging probably a regular to take the line seat. I deferred and passed on the margaritas. You should pass on this place.

This is one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants in Texas. I do not live near Waco but when around the area I make sure to stop. Food is absolutely amazing! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner have never disappointed! The location is a little rough but don’t let that deter you at all!

Update 1/25/23- So we’ve been here a handful of times and we usually love the service and food but tonight was different. We’ve been dieting since the new year but decided to go out to dinner since it was my mother in laws Birthday. She wanted Mexican and we all thought of Ranchito at the same time. This was our first cheat meal in over 3 weeks and it honestly couldn’t have been more disappointing. Ratings are as below- The service 2/5: Our waitress had a large table to serve all night along with our table. Understandably she spent more time with her larger group that us with our table of food. She got our orders and drinks and then we didn’t see her again until our food came out. She would just hover and wait around until someone in her larger group needed something. We wanted new chips (the majority of the ones we had left were literally soggy and flimsy due to being drenched in oil), refills, and possibly order some queso but she never showed up. We finally had to ask a different waitress about our chips, salsa, and refills. The food 1/5: If I could do 0 stars I would for this. First time eating out in 3 weeks and I really wanted some Chicken Flautas. So I ordered those and had high hopes. Then our chips and salsa came out. The chips were stale, soggy, and cooked in old oil (you can taste and smell it when it’s old). So this made me worry my flautas would taste similarly. When they arrived, not only did they taste like that old oil, they were completely over fried, oily, and dry with ZERO flavor. I could only taste the oil. My beans were dry. The rice was dry and old tasting. The best thing I ate was the avocado and sour cream. Everyone else at the table wasn’t too impressed with their food but it was edible. Cleanliness: 3/5: Not bad but the tables were sticky and gross when we got there. My menu had left over dried up food on it. Overall the food and service made me had to rate this a 1 tonight. Please do better. We may try y’all again but this hurt your reputation in our eyes and could be hard to recover from. We have a lot of other Mexican food places around that we can go instead of here. Old review- This place is awesome for Mexican food. Super friendly staff, cold beer, and really tasty salsa and chips. Their tall beer arrives in a chilled metal mug which helps keep you beer cold. The chips are thicker than most tortilla chips so it dips really well. And the salsa is chunky but not too chunky. I ordered the chipotle chicken. It was delicious. Fresh avocado, some jalapeños, cheese, a hefty sized chicken breast, and covered with cheese with rice and beans on the side. The chipotle seasoning and sauce was delicious. I wish it were more spicy but I added some extra jalapeños which helped me with that spice craving. The taco salad was good too. The taco was more like a puffy taco which was pretty cool. Fresh ingredients and a nice gob of cool sour cream. I recommend this place to get your Mexican food craving satisfied.

From our appetizers to all of our four entrées, everything was so delicious. We even tried their mango margarita and it was very well made. The only thing to complain about is the AC could’ve worked a little better. But this would definitely be a place I go back to

Went got dinner and was missing the tortillas and got chips and sauce there.And never got my salsa very disappointing.I took almost thirty minutes just to get urconic cosada plate to go.And it was not busy.

My boss bought us lunch and we were excited that she picked Chipotle. Unfortunately, it became a huge disappointment. She brought a list of our orders, just 4 items and drinks. As she placed/read each order to a female server, she was frustrated with big sighs and rolling her eyes, according to my boss. My boss ordered extra lettuce for me as I requested. It didn’t have any. So as my boss’s. She told her that I wanted sour cream on side. I had to share a cup of sour cream with another coworker, who ordered it on side as well. She said when she came to meat station, she was treated with respect by a male employee, according to her. My boss and I have a couple of food allergies and we couldn’t add a lot like the other 2 orders. Our lunch became more like an Asian bowl, rice with protein (meat/cheese/beans) instead of a Mexican bowl without lettuce. We will never return to this place.

I once ordered through DoorDash and didn’t receive my 2 orders of chips (no biggie, I used to work in the food industry so I understand that mistakes happen). I then tried ordering through the Chipotle app. I DID receive my chips, but this time they were burnt to a crisp. I’m talking as brown as the pinto beans in my burrito bowl. The fact that whoever fried these chips, and then thought that it was alright to bag them up and let customers consume them is just infuriating. THEN I found a piece of plastic in my bowl?!? Seems like some kind of food wrapping plastic. I had also ordered through the Chipotle app about a month ago for pickup during my lunch break. They either lost my ticket, or someone took my order from the shelf….Just so annoying all around. I used to love Chipotle and haven’t had as many issues as I’m seeing within the last year or so.

This Chipotle was nasty. It was very dirty. The tables were not cleaned off at all. They were out of rice and had to scrape the last slimy bits from the container. It had a strange and off tasting flavor. The employees were paying no attention to us. They were busy talking to each other and were totally distracted. Not a pleasant experience at all!

Chipotle is blessed to continue to have customers during so much economic uncertainty. When someone chose to spend their money with you at the very least if you're not going to serve hot food at least let it be good and don't skimp on portions. Why would you only give 2 tablespoons of beans and corn. Smh this establishment have a 3.8 rating and it shows.

the worst chipotle ive ever been to, i always have a problem. the food is never fresh, the workers are always incompetent, they can never fulfill any of my needs. a disgrace to the chipotle name. the baylor one never disappoints, i’ll never be back to the valley mills location. one worker was actually stupid and can’t listen, the rest are nice and try to make up for her but it’s not enough. online ordering here is always the worst too.

Food was AMAZING, the service was knowledgeable about the food. The only thing I would have to say is the parking lot area, you have to have a lot of patience to get out. But everything else EXCELLENT. By the way your salsa is the best that I have had and the hot sauce is liquid fire but really good. Thank you for an amazing dinner.

I’ve called orders ahead and had them picked up for me and I wouldn’t be writing a review if it were a one time thing. However at this point it’s now been a constant issue with my orders. Most recently I ordered an agua fresca de limón. When my order arrives to my job and I’m handed my drink I immediately notice the color is off. I give it a sip and well it simply tasted like sugar no crisp citrus notes like natural homemade lemonade or limón would have. I then call to ask about how they make the agua de limón and YES indeed it’s just powdered flavoring. It’s frustrating that online and in store they announce to sell aguas frescas when in reality it’s just powder Kool-Aid/Klass brand etc….. and yet charge as if it were truly a fresh made beverage. If I wanted a processed beverage I would go to any corner store or gas station and even then it would be cheaper. Not to mention that when I call to place my order the lady taking the order seems to be in a rush continuously asking anything else, when I’m not even finish with my sentence. If you don’t have time to take an order it’s okay to communicate that as well, simply say it’s best if you call back or place the order online. I call because it’s quicker but if calling is going to cause communication issues to the point where my orders are being delivered incorrectly every time than I would rather not call, I order from here because it’s closer to my job and convenient but the service and food isn’t what it’s supposed to be.

Got tired of fast food after work and did a quick search to see what was close to my hotel. Found this taqueria 2 minutes away and they are open till 11:00pm. Good tacos and the salsa was nice and spicy. Charro beans hit the spot. Heading back in the morning for some breakfast tacos.

I was in town for work and decided on something “light” for dinner. This restaurant gives a food truck feel but with a dine in option. I ordered the fajita chicken quesadilla and two beef fajita tacos on corn. Order took about 10 minutes or so. It smelled great! The quesadilla was okay. Very cheesy if you like more cheese than chicken. I prefer an even ratio so I give the quesadilla three stars. But five stars go for the tacos! I can get that all day everyday! Delicious, flavorful, and full of meat. It was so good and I wished I would have gotten more. But it’s a great gem in the city of Waco so I definitely recommend. It gives authentic Mexican food that’s not Tex mex.

I just went up there because I ordered a burrito with only 3 ingredients rice eggs and bacon. You couldn't find bacon on that burrito with a magnifying glass.. Went back up there they apologize said they give me another one they put 1 slight misleasy strip of bacon and it was the most fatty gooey piece of bacon I've ever seen in my life the burrito that gave me back was even smaller as well.... For a $9 burrito absolutely not worth it at this point. Don't bother going. They also gave me salsa that tasted sour so they don't even check their salsas.

We had dinner here tonight and our server Gerardo was amazing! He was super friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and made us feel really welcome. He kept everything running smoothly, and made sure our family had a wonderful time. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests. We’ll definitely be back and asking for him again!

Don't know how or why we've went this long without trying this place but I have definitely been missing out! Everything was delicious. My son (10 years old) was a huge fan of the wings, said they were way better than Wingstop. We were given plenty of food to fill us up. We had 2 kids meals, 5 adult meals, 5 soft drinks and 2 appetizers and spent around $130. Walked out with 3 to go boxes!

Haven’t found anything we didn’t like ! The Charro beans are my favorite ! Spot on every time ! The staff they are awesome and very friendly! If you like a little kick of favor then come out of try it !!

I had the Menudo. It was good. The waitress was great. We didn't have to ask for refills.

PROS: street tacos were excellent. large and tasty. Enchildas were good. staff attentive, polite and accurate. Prices reasonable to good. DISCOUNT FOR CASH!!! -- CONS: Salsa is awful. too hot for most people. they know that which explains the tiny amount they bring. not sure the refried beans are even beans. Very, very noisy especially when the staff stops doing what they should be doing and bursts out yelling and clapping -VERY loudly- to sing happy birthday. Don't sit near the kitchen door unless you have ear plugs. (isn't it time retire this practice?). Jalapenos had a strange slightly sweetish flavor and no heat at all. Wife opened the restroom door and didn't enter due to the smell.---- Overall I'd recommend using the drive through for a to go order, get the street tacos and charro beans, -after stopping down the street for some salsa and go home where you can hear your partner when they speak and enjoy the beef fajita street tacos. edit...followed my advice and picked up street tacos with cilantro and onions at the drive through. after 20 minute drive home, no cilantro or onions. left off 2/3 of my order. I really wanted to like this place but guess it head on down the street.

we went here for lunch and we were greeted by our server within just a few minutes. we got our drinks pretty quickly too. when we got the chips and salsa and queso and all the sauces were sooooooo yummy. i ordered the cheese enchiladas and the people i went with got the light plate and quesabirria tacos and all the food was really yummy. our food came out in less than ten minutes. i very much recommend this place, every time i go it’s always so good.

We ate around 10 am and started off with Biscuits were old and hard, but they still served them anyways. We sent them back and the server DID take them off our ticket but we really really wanted Biscuits and Gravy this morning. Anyways we were not at all pleased with the Chicken Fried Steak or the Beef Fajita meat which I added to my veggie omelette for easier ordering. We ate some and left more but we won't be returning. People who worked there were nice though.

Beware of the cashier purposely over charged me and when I called back for prices they over charged me for a burrito and drink I didn’t it take it back because. I will never go back equal right

I love this place. I try to eat here every time I come to Waco. Food is always hot, fast, and delicious. The girls are so friendly and respectful, not to mention attentive. This place, in my opinion, deserves the 5 stars.

I'm so mad that we paid almost $60 for this food for 3 people. When we looked at the menu before ordering, each plate should've cost around $12 each with 2 sodas and we were charged for two Cokes from Mexico that are like $5 each. I was supposed to have the 3 Amigas Plate with ground beef, not steak! Instead of a tostada, enchilada, and hard taco I got 2 flour tortillas with fajita steak, a tostada with fajita steak that was soggy with all of this meal's sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. The beans were way too salty to eat and the rice was disgusting. The food was too salty to eat and not good at all. I will never go back to this place again. It ruined my appetite and made me so mad. My daughter said we could take it back, but they closed before we could. Good thing too, because I wanted to throw thus food back at them! Never eat here, be sure you're not being up-charged for your items.

One of my favorite places for breakfast. I was hesitant to do a review because I wanted to keep it to myself 😂 but honestly this place is amazing. The breakfast tacos and burritos are perfect. Excellent amount of food for the cost. Real Chorizo. Excellent chilaquiles!!!!! and the Birria plate is delicious. I personally prefer to get the Birria in a burrito! But that's me. Chips and salsa are great. You can get warm or cold salsa or both. The green sauce is so delicious. The staff is great! Food takes time to cook but they are on it. So it's not a terrible wait.

If they say that a portion is not too big, don't believe it! It is big! And it is delicious to!

Love love love love love love love this place! The service the atmosphere and definitely the food! The wait staff is always friendly and efficient! The food no matter what you try is always fresh and on point! I tried a Cubana torta, queso, and a steak burrito with everything in it but the kitchen sink and beans lol. Slap your mama (with love) so good! It's right off the highway super easy to get on and off if you're traveling. No excuse not to stop by here and check out this wonderful little spot. the most delicious fajita torta and orange agua fresca! it came with two spicy sauces. they do have a nice, shaded eating area that is free from flies, but i took it to go for work

Had the chicken quesadilla and the torta cubana. Quesadilla was good and the torta is huge and heavy. Both the red and green salsas are good, not too spicy. Went at 11:30 a.m. on a Friday. Was the only customer there. The owner was nice and his customer service is on point. Plenty of seating under a carport. Will be going back to check out other items on the menu.

They always get my order wrong, and the wait is ridiculous every time!! I kept trying it, because I wanted to like it and the food is decent... but I have found better options in Waco for my money.

So like most people, if you pass by it enough times you will eventually stop and so we did on Friday night around 10 PM. It was cold and didn't want to eat on the car so we took it home. For $20 we got 3 brisket tacos, 1 brisket quesadilla, and 1 mexican coke, a must-have, right? The food was still hot when we got home. The red and green sauces were tasty. Hate to say it but, for us both, we didn't taste anything "special" to set them apart or above other trucks. In the photo of the quesadilla on the truck wall, I thought it would be the same, but it wasn't just meat and cheese. Just not for us.

The food is delicious but what I really loved about this place is how accommodating they are. For health reasons I requested something that wasn’t on the menu and they made it and it was delicious! They were so kind and understanding! Definitely recommend this place! I would have posted a picture of my grilled chicken salad but I ate it quickly! It hit the spot!

For 2 breakfast burritos, meat , potatoes & cheese was 28.00 then there was no cheese. Was a pick up order so didn't dis over until getting back. The girl at the front counter was less than pleasant and when I called to advise, all she said was," what do you want me to do about it" not in a very friendly voice. It's my theory maybe she is skimming off of the menu pricing as I did go back and was less than half of what was paid the first time

My pork with verde sauce proved to be delightfully spicy and tender, delicious with the house-made tortillas. It's cash only, so be sure to hit the ATM before stopping by.

The place feels like home, And the food is cheap and they give you a lot it is also very flavorful. And the salsa is amazing.

We stopped by for breakfast. This is family operated business. The parking is limited. Many people had called their order to the restaurant and took it to go. When you go into the front door you at the bakery. They have many types of Mexican sweet breads. If go straight back from the front door you go into the restaurant. We sat ordered and ate.

Our daily eatery, they always have huge smiles on their faces no matter the what the weather looks like outside. Mrs. Bertha is the kindest person and spiols my baby girl every time she sees her. Not to mention, the food is wonderful

Service was great, i ordered a burito and opened it up it had a pinched of brisket, i was very unsatisfied with this, the amount of brisket would not fill one taco, i will not eat here again!!!

Okay it's been awhile since I've been here. Immediately I noticed it was hot. Guess the A/C was broke. Service was excellent. Atmosphere seemed laid back. Food was semi good.The charro beans and rice had little to no flavor. I ordered the avocado enchilada and carnita tacos. It was pretty decent, nothing to knock my socks off though. I also had two house margaritas that seemed to lack liquor. All together I spent around $34 for two people. If I was asked to go here again It would not be my first choice. Not saying I wouldn't give it another chance because I do believe in those.

Not impressed with food. Rice was over cooked or burnt (bottom of the pan), manager did replace the rice no question, but this isn't Tex Mex, not even Mexican food. More like a bad attempt at White people cooking authentic Mexican food for the first time. I'd take taco Bell (cheeper and better) over here any day. The service was great and the drinks were good. We won't be back.

My kids and I love this place!! The top shelf queso is one of our favorite things to start off with!!! We always have a great experience because of the attentive staff a warm welcome they give us! Feels like home!

Wow, this was my first time eating at El Chico and let me tell you, it won't be my last! Best taco that I have ever eaten! Salsa was the bomb! The rice was on point! I can't believe that I have lived in Waco my entire life and I have never eaten here before.

I had a craving for Mexican food and El Chico was convenient for me to get to, right off the interstate. The food was really good. The jalapeno poppers were delicious and my friend and I tried the tex mex meal for two. I will get this again for sure.

Will never return. Table stacked with dirty dishes we had to eat around. Had to ask for refills. The waitress sat almost everything in front of a one year old (guessing she doesn't have kids) my husband and his cousin where here the other day and they ate at the bar and they bragged on the bartender. The manager took my dinner off the bill but didn't seem like it was their fault there was string in my food.

I went to BU and have been going to this food truck since 2012, been here numerous times as a college student, and keep coming back even after graduation. Their burritos are fresh, large, great quality of meat and veggies, and always served piping hot. Their tortilla is soft and flaky, holds all the ingredients really well, and never gets soggy. The portion sizes big and totally worth your money. One of my fav places in Waco! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The only downside is they are open for limited hours and days, so def check before going.

When you're craving an authentic breakfast taco...THIS is it! 10/10 The flour tortillas are crispy and buttery and downright delicious. I love when bacon is chopped up and crispy (not the a whole long sloppy piece)

Yes! 👏🏽 get some quesadillas, burritos, and tacos. No, not just one of those items… all of them! I haven’t had bad choice from here yet. I usually order one of each since I’m from out of town. I highly recommend and the employees who work there are very kind! They speak English and Spanish and take card and cash. So there isn’t any excuses to enjoy delicious Mexican food! It’s a little food truck that you can’t miss right in front of Dichotomy coffee shop. Plenty of parking and you can probably even eat there since there is one or two benches near by. Best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. Started coming here in college and 10 years later I still make the trip from Fort Worth just for this burrito and no other reason.

The owner and gentleman that helped with my order this morning were great. I ordered a bacon, egg, bean, and cheese burrito. It was made fresh. The burrito was ginormous and tastes excellent. I added the green salsa. It was hot but had good flavor. Well worth the $.
