Seafood restaurant
Lobster Shop is a charming waterfront restaurant in Tacoma, offering stunning views of Commencement Bay and the Olympic Mountain Range. Since its establishment in 1981, it has become a popular dining destination. The menu features an array of delectable seafood dishes, with a focus on East Coast lobster prepared in various creative ways such as lobster bisque and lobster carbonara. In addition to seafood, the restaurant also offers inventive plant-based options like Vegan Mushroom Scallops.
We had the most incredible dining experience at The Lobster Shop, and it was all thanks to our phenomenal server, Leah. From the moment we were seated on the gorgeous patio with stunning waterfront views, she made us feel right at home while still delivering the elevated experience of fine dining. We ordered champagne, oysters, the lobster risotto, crab bisque, and the wedge salad—every dish was absolutely delicious. The crab bisque was rich, buttery, and decadent, and the oysters were incredibly fresh. Leah gave amazing recommendations and had such graceful etiquette. She was kind, timely, attentive, and made the entire experience feel so special. You can tell she truly takes pride in her service and knows how to create a memorable evening. We highly recommend asking for Leah when you visit! Also, the remodel is beautiful—modern, coastal, and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back!

We went here for our anniversary last year, October 24, 2024, we didn’t have reservations but we had our 3 kids with us. We arrived at 7:30, told the host that we didn’t have reservations and that it was our anniversary. We both worked and went straight to dinner so we weren’t dressed up, but also didn’t look we just walked up off the streets. They gave us the best table in the house, explained to us the menu as we told them it was our first time there. Let me tell you, the host and our waiters went out of their way to make us feel welcomed, this was one of the best dining experiences of our lives. The oysters were fresh, they gave us a few toppings to try on them, wow, I still haven’t had any other oysters that tasted like the ones we had that night. My husband and I opted for the 3 course dinner, mind blowing, the lobster bisque was heavenly, if I could pick my last meal on earth, that would be it😍 All in all, we could’ve been served a crappy meal but would still left a wonderful review because of how we were treated, even our kids said they loved this restaurant. I don’t know if the host and waiters are still there but if they are, I hope they read this and realize how so very special they made our anniversary evening. Thank you ☺️

Was pretty disappointed. Maybe it was a bad night. Service was slower than I would have expected. And for the price, the food was just average. Great presentation. Average taste. Lobster bisque and calamari were the best things there. The lobster was just okay. Would give them another chance but not anytime soon.

We attempted to have dinner here but came across an issue and were not able to attend. We seen the good reviews and did not want to miss trying this restaurant, so we had lunch. The sourdough bread was very good to start. We had the soup and sandwich combos. We tried the lobster bisque (delicious) and had both the Connecticut and Maine lobster rolls. The rolls were both extremely tasty and worth getting. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The view is pleasant. We will definitely return to try their dinner service. Don't miss on this gem!!

We made reservations for a Friday night at 7 p.m. (6/20). We walked in, and the hostess was extremely rude and had a major attitude. She didn't seem like or sounded like she enjoyed her job at all. Not a great first impression for first-timers. Anyway, everything else was great! The food was fresh, but our lobster and halibut were slightly overcooked (not a huge deal). Not everyone was rude! Our waiter was very attentive and nice. Oysters were amazing, and cocktails were on point. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, though.

During a recent girls' trip, we had the pleasure of dining at The Lobster Shop. From the moment we walked in, the management and waitstaff, esp. Leah, made us feel incredibly welcome. Their friendliness and attentiveness were evident throughout our meal, making us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. It’s always refreshing to encounter such genuine hospitality. Now, let’s talk about the food! Each dish we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality. The most unexpected and memorable part of our experience came at the end of our meal. The manager surprised our group with a complimentary dessert and a toast of champagne. This thoughtful gesture truly topped off our evening and made us feel special. It’s these little touches that elevate a dining experience from good to unforgettable. Overall, The Lobster Shop exceeded our expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a fantastic meal paired with exceptional service, I highly recommend stopping by. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, and I can’t wait to return!

My wife, mother-in-law and I made reservations for a Tuesday evening at 7:15pm, right after the dinner rush. Our waitress Shana was amazing! Food was absolutely delicious and so was the dessert! We sat outside on the patio and everything was perfect - excellent atmosphere. Props to the management and our waitress, Shana. Will be returning 😁

I have been in Tacoma for about 7 weeks on and off! The staff are absolutely incredible, Diane has been my server most of the time and she knows the menu in and out! Try the lobster dip, it’s so flavorful and filling! Every single server has been absolutely amazing, the staff is wonderful. I’ve sat inside and out depending on if it’s cold and it’s the same experience! The staff is so kind and informs me when there are seals or fish jumping too, or what is happening in the ocean that day! Pretty amazing place! I highly recommend the Lobster Shop! The views are absolutely breathtaking!

Harbor Lights is a waterfront restaurant located on Ruston Way in Tacoma, offering stunning views of Commencement Bay. Originally established in 1959 and later taken over by Anthonys Restaurants, the venue underwent renovations in 2015 to enhance its ambiance and culinary offerings. The menu features a variety of Northwest seafood dishes, along with outdoor seating for guests to enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
Driven by this place for over 30 years and finally made the decision to go inside. I don’t know why I’ve waited so long. You just know the views are unobstructed and gorgeous. The staff members were all wonderful and friendly. The food was excellent! We all ordered something different. They specialize in oysters and make them in a variety of ways. I chose the crab toast. Oh em gee it was sooo good!! Everyone really enjoyed their meal. We all shared a dessert called cherry buckle. None of us are huge fans of cherry but they did it right and even the dessert was amazing. As we left after our meal I noticed the bar is pretty hoppin. They must make great drinks. Everyone inside including the customers were really friendly and I’d love to come back. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s wondering about this place!

Food here was incredible. A little on the expensive side, but so good. We got a seat by the window, so we had a beautiful view of the water right around sunset as well. They close shockingly early (between 8-9pm depending on the night), so be aware of that, but it's definitely worth it. We got there close to close, and the server was great and made sure we were aware so we could get everything we wanted to order submitted before the kitchen closed, but also told us it was no rush at all once we had our food. I'd absolutely go back.

Solid seafood and efficient service. We had rainbow trout and the Manila clams, both very good. The clam “dinner” does not come with sides, so an additional order of mashed potatoes rounded it out. Enjoyable Moscow mule, an ipa 🍺 and amber ale 🍻

Good food in a smaller atmosphere. Some outside dining with a view for much warmer days. Friendly staff and appropriately attentive. We made a reservation which is recommended. Generous pour in the drinks. I paid $52 for the King Salmon (I live in FL and can't get it there). It was smaller in size than I was used to but delicious. Adequate parking across the street with a lighted crosswalk.

I've always had great experiences at Harbor lights. The food and service are always in point, its a beautiful place to have a meal and watch a sunset. Definitely recommend this place. We ordered the salmon, Mac cheese, clams for appetizer, and a moctail mojito.

Cute spot with nice water views and friendly service. They pour a stiff drink but also have tasty n/a options. Their clam chowder is unique (a white chowder without the cream) but very yummy! Their portions are generous. The fish and chips had great fries and the fish had a nice panko breading and was very tasty. The king crab legs comes without the shell and you get a ton of meat! Pricy but worth it. I got two meals out of it.
Sara W — Google review
Went to dinner here July 15th. The views of the harbor are quite beautiful. Large parking lot’s located across the street from restaurant, and finding parking can be difficult on weekends. Tacoma waterfront area has many restaurants to choose from, and all of which are waterfront locations that have most of available parking is located across the street. The service was great, our food however was just ok. For a steak and seafood restaurant, I was not impressed with the quality of our meal, or the price.
Julie D — Google review
This is a very nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the Pugent Sound. The food was very good. The Mussels were very good as was the ribeye steak with roasted scampi prawns. The rockfish was a little too spicy but they offered to make it again and milder and it came out just right. It was overall good experience.

Duke's Seafood Tacoma is a popular local chain known for its market-fresh seafood, grass-fed burgers, and cocktails in a casual setting. The restaurant has been serving the people of Tacoma for 15 years, offering a variety of chowders such as New England clam, Lobster Mobster with Pernod, and North by Northwest Seafood Chowder.
Hello and good morning everyone, Today's review will be on Duke's seafood restaurant in Tacoma Washington. My family I want to hear last week the ending part of July 2025 with my mother-in-law who was up here from Florida. We were eating a brunch so we didn't have any problem whatsoever getting a table. The view off the back area where we were situated was very nice because it's near the water so we had a great view. We were several appetizers which you'll see pictures of. We ordered some chips with a dip the only criticism I would say are the chips were very salty, too salty! Overall the meal was very good no one had really any complaints that seafood was great. Let me give you one big piece of advice people- this is a medium and too expensive restaurant so for four people we spent over $200. So please take that into consideration I would definitely recommend coming back here to eat brunch or dinner the area is very pretty and right next to the water so you have a great ambience. The waiter was friendly and helpful the restaurants clean bathroom was clean and the food was good. But it was expensive, I mean a one piece fish and chips was $26. I mean who eats a one piece I was going to get a two-piece but it was $32. So guess, what I opted for a chicken salad. And as a side note we didn't make a reservation just to be on the safe side Hope this helps and I hope the pictures help...

The seafood here is fantastic! They also offer some other options like burgers for those in the mood for something different, but I’d recommend sticking to the seafood if you want the best experience. The views are absolutely stunning, especially if you get a seat outside. You can enjoy your meal while taking in the gorgeous scenery. The waitress was super friendly and made the whole experience feel even more enjoyable. Food is pricey, but is definently worth it. After dining here, there's a nice little walking area just outside the restaurant that leads to the pier. It's the perfect spot to take a post-meal stroll, check out some local coffee shops, and explore other nearby restaurants. Great food, great atmosphere, and a lovely area to explore afterward — definitely a place worth checking out!
Kaelyn F — Google review
Lovely waterfront seafood place with famous chowder and fresh fish! The service is amazing, great food and wine selection too. You really cant beat the view wether you are sitting inside or have good enough weather to sit outside. If you're lucky, you can catch a good amount of the aquatic life while you eat and enjoy watching sea planes or sailboats come through!

We went here for lunch today right at opening. I suggest going early because it got busy quickly. We got seated right away on the deck outside. The server helped us pretty quickly and made sure to explain how fresh their food is, pointing out some popular items on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly fried, not too greasy or dripping at all. The salad was very good, a bit heavy on the dressing. The weather was also perfect so that was a nice bonus. Our water was filled often, our glasses never got empty. My first time here and we will absolutely be back!
Suzy H — Google review
The staff were wonderful and very informative. The atmosphere was fun. The food was fantastic! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and locally sourced. You definitely want to stop there if you get a chance.

Our experience here was so good not just because of the delicious food or drinks and amazing views but because of our server Alex!! Hands down the best server I’ve ever had - he is so good at his job. Took care of all of the things before we even needed to ask and gave us all of the options. Service, recommendations and care were spectacular. A seasonal item but I recommend the Pear Old Fashioned.

Always enjoy Duke's for lunch or dinner when we are craving seafood. I recently had the Crab Cake sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries and loved it. My kid enjoyed the Rockfish Tacos ( and had to add a cup of clam chowder). The view of the waters is always nice.
Marsha J — Google review
The award winning chowder wasn’t bad. I feel like it could have more flavor. I was expecting so much from the stuffed halibut and the cioppino. I was so disappointed… The cioppino had the whole cast of the little mermaid but it had no flavor! It was a watery soup with a lot of seafood and some tomatoes. The halibut was missing flavor as well. The only thing that was good were the fries and the blueberry lemonade. The service was excellent and the vibes were incredible. We sat outside at sunset and loved the views. But for the price I was expecting so much more

08/09/25 6:45pm reservation We came in tonight for our 5th anniversary. Greeted at the host stand about 20 feet from the door, I scanned to find who was welcoming us. With a bright smile the host received our reservation and wished us a happy anniversary. A few mins later we are notified our seat is ready by another team member who wished us a happy anniversary. As we sat and enjoyed the scenery we waited For our server to come by as we looked over the cocktail menu and food options. The dining room was already quite full as they were in prime dinner service, our waiter took our drink and appetizer orders but seemed to be a bit nervous, undivided or new as she stumbled over her words a few times. It took a little over 10 mins to get our drinks because the bartender was solo and backed up, I appreciate our server letting us know twice that it would be a little longer. We received some delicious focaccia bread as we waited for our drinks. An hour later we finally got our appetizer sampler plate, the server came by two times apologizing for the delay but the kitchen was backed up. Notably it was a busy service and things seemed rocky but we are understanding patrons. The placed our food order the first time our server returned to tell us the apps were going to be a little longer. We received our food 13 mins prior to our apps. Everything was so delicious. Sampler plate: Bao-3/5 steak was a bit chewy but the onions are fantastic. Coconut prawns-4. 5/5 very tasty and the sauce was great Crab dip- excellent! But I'll ask for focaccia bread instead of crostinis * Pine nut crusted shrimp and lobster alfredo 4/5 I appreciate the chef taking the consideration to prepare this dish without nuts for us as my partner has a nut allergy. Everything was great but the sauce was sort of broken and very thin not sticking to the noodles. Trio sampler plate- 3.5./5 tonight. The shrimp were over grilled and nearly burnt on some pieces, the carrots were practily dry and over cooked to a crispy and VERY salty. The potatoes and salmon and beans were nice though my partner recommended whipped potatoes to go for that more upscare feel. She also got the crab bearnaise which I thought was fantastic. I loved the fried capers! We had the impresso martini and the dessert espresso drink as well. Both 5/5 Spicy Prickly pear Marg 5/5 10 year port 5/5 can't wait to try the others Focaccia bread 5/5 Creme brulee was 5/5 perfect! So great All in all a great experience, we would come again. 2 people, 2 drinks, 1 app, 2 entrees and 2 dessert rounded out $200 before tip.

Had such a great time here! The food was really good, the service was great, and the whole vibe was calm but still super fun and engaging. It’s the kind of place that just makes you feel good being there. Huge shoutout to Haley, the hostess — she was amazing! So sweet, professional, and welcoming. She honestly made it feel like we were walking into someone’s home instead of just a restaurant. You can tell she really cares about people having a good experience.
Rania S — Google review
Awesome view! We visited this restaurant on Father’s Day 2025. We had a set menu - choose 3 items for a set price. Loved the variety of items listed on the FR menu…from seafood to beef to chicken. We ordered additional starters - fried calamari and savory burrata & prosciutto. We ordered two bottles of local Chateau St Michelle wine - yum. We begun our 3 course meal with Cesar salad; peas salad; lobster bisque; clam chowder. 2nd Course - OVEN-ROASTED CHICKEN DIJON; GRILLED SEAFOOD TRIO; ALMOND CRUSTED SEA SCALLOPS; BEEF SIRLOIN. 3rd Course Dessert - Key Lime Pies (nope); Crème Brûlée (YUM); NY Styled Cheesecake (yum). I got it was a busy night but with a set menu, there should be top service AND food. One of the dishes were missing a sauce, some sauces were not hot/warm & some presentation was iffy. There wine was not properly served and poured. Overall, I would return to try the regular menu.

Hubby and I came for a special occasion dinner and we were not disappointed! The food was excellent! We shared some of the Lobster Bisque: so creamy, yum! My Filet Mignon was grilled perfectly and my husbands Almond Crusted Sea Scallops were delicious! What made the night truly special was our waitress, Kristi! She was attentive, efficient and we could really tell knew the menu inside and out; and she had such an amazing personality too! It was so refreshing to have a server that you could joke around with a bit! She really made our night!

It’s was ok, good view, good service, I think we came in the wrong day we didn’t know that special day have only few option to eat and the amount of food it’s small. But everything tasted good. A little bit pricey for what it is. Good thing have a cover parking under the restaurant.

Celebrated my wife’s birthday. First time there and our steaks were cooked perfectly. Amanda was our server and every question we had she answered. She recommended red wine that pared wonderfully with ours steaks. Definitely will be back to explore other items on the menu. Great experience.

Great place for casual dining with high-end menu options and taste! Views are unbeatable with inside and outside dining. Seasonal desserts are amazing with strawberries and other berries in season. Fun to watch the Vashon ferry come and go along with regular boat traffic in and out of the yacht club .

Must have come at a busy time. Hostess were in a hurry to get you seated and even to get you the seat you requested which was nice but I am used to being asked if first time here or what occasion are you celebrating. No time for small talk. Secondly, waitress was nice but in a hurry to get your order. Service here was lacking. View was great and food good. You have to expect it would be on the expensive side. I had the halibut and chips and my spouse the salmon fettuccine. We both had the calm chowder which was very good. First time at this location and we were out to celebrate our wedding anniversary (47th).

We had lunch here. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. The food was delicious and flavorful. The view was beautiful, overlooking the Puget Sound. I had the crab & shrimp fettuccine which was worth the price, it was full of crab and shrimp and the sauce was great. The Rockfish tacos, mussels, fish and chips, and kids burger were all amazing.

Had an absolutely delicious meal here with incredible service and view of the sound. We had ahi nachos to start which we demolished within 2 minutes of them being set down, and then fresh Rainbow Trout and Petrale Sole for dinner off the Galley sheet which were both so, so flavorful and yummy. Definitely recommend getting food off the galley sheet, they were some of the freshest, tastiest fish I’ve had in Washington. We will definitely be back!!

Raven is a " Superstar "! we would wait an hour if we had to in requesting her as our co server , Tim , a Southern man w/ Amber mirror shades , a handlebar mustache and prime smile / great fun. Aldon has to be mentioned as she is so gracious, beautiful, kind - how Lucky Anthonys is to have the Primo staff all under one roof. Nestled along the stunning Tacoma waterfront at Point Ruston, WildFin American Grill is a must-visit for seafood lovers. This charming eatery boasts an impressive menu featuring fresh fish, wild seafood, and locally sourced meats, all complemented by breathtaking views of iconic landmarks like Mount Rainier and Vashon Island. Whether you're indulging in their famous fish and chips or savoring grilled steak with Alaskan snow crab, every dish promises to delight your palate.
We sat outside. Beautiful view. Staff was great. Friendly and attentive. Gave good suggestions and feedback. Drinks were good. Food was good, had turkey club - the fries were amazing, sushi & salad (Forgot to take a picture. )

We got the seafood chowder, fried calamari, seafood pasta, and a burger. The view was great! However, the food was just alright. The pasta was bland - the salmon was not well seasoned, the sauce was bland as well. I would suggest adding some salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. The chowder was interesting. It was foamy, salty and milky/cheesy. The burger wasn't anything special. The fried calamari wasn't crispy. Overall, the food was below my expectations. I would come here for the view, get drinks and an appetizer.

Visiting for the first time in Seattle. I wasn't crazy about my dinner. The steak was beautiful and it was delicious. However, the potatoes were barely warm, they were not well seasoned, and the green beans were hard! The berry cobbler was overbaked! Would I go back again? Yes, I would simply try a different menu selection. The views from the windows are beautiful. CAB

WildFin in Tacoma has so much going for it — the location is beautiful, with amazing views of the water and even a giant fountain out front where kids can splash and play. It’s a lively spot that feels perfect for both family outings and date nights. I ordered the Fresh Catch Halibut, which was flavorful and had great textures. That said, I did find myself questioning just how “fresh” the catch really was, which kept it from being a flawless experience. Still, it was enjoyable overall and paired nicely with the atmosphere. Service was a definite highlight — the bartenders were attentive, helpful, and made the evening smooth and enjoyable. Overall, I’d give WildFin a solid 4 out of 5. Great view, great service, and good food — just not quite perfect.

Wildfin in one of several restaurants in the Point Defiance waterfront area. The area is very nice and offers some nice restaurants with a good view of the water. The decor and presentation inside of the restaurant is appealing. The oysters were a good choice to start, as well as the bread service. We tried the filet mignon, black cod and the burger. The steak was presented well and tender, it was slightly undercooked but still very good. The black cod was impressive and very tasty. The burger was tasty but unfortunately well undercooked, it was ordered medium-well and arrived medium rare. We did not send it back but this was our only issue with our dining experience. Our server was friendly and attentive. Outside of the undercooking, a nice choice in dining.

My daughter and I enjoyed dinner! We started with the clams. The sauce was amazing, the wine was not over powering! We shared a delicious seasonal salad. My daughter had the house burger and I had the shrimp scampi. Neither of us we able to finish but took it all home to enjoy later. Great view, sadly we did not get pics, server was attentive and very kind. We did not make a reservation but they got us in with ease!

Visited Wildfin in Ruston on a sunny day with a party of 6. The parking is a bit of a walk, and I wish there were clearer signs that parking is free for retail visitors. If it was posted somewhere maybe I must have missed? The restaurant itself is gorgeous with a warm, inviting interior and incredible waterfront views that make it feel special. The bar area is beautifully set up and definitely adds to the upscale vibe. Restrooms were very clean, but for the size of the restaurant, having just one toilet felt a bit limited. Food-wise, the menu leans toward being heavier, and most items were a little too salty for my personal taste. Service was professional and attentive, which made the experience very good. This is a great place for a nice evening out or to bring guests who want a view with their meal. They have a beautiful outdoor patio set up and I can see why people love it here. We love this place. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but the food is worth it and the location is nice, being right on the water. The calamari was cooked perfectly, so much flavor and very tender. The chowder was also delicious, just wish the pieces of seafood in it were bigger and more noticeable. The salmon and filet were cooked perfectly. Very tender, juicy and full of flavor. I loved the Sole more than the tenderloin on my dish. The tenderloin was cooked exactly how I wanted, but there was no flavor to the meat itself, apart from the chimichurri. The potatoes are a little underwhelming for the side, could use some butter. Overall, it was delicious and worth it.

Katie Downs Waterfront Tavern is a laid-back and popular bar and restaurant situated in the charming Old Town neighborhood. Boasting breathtaking ocean views, this family-owned establishment has been serving satisfied customers for over 30 years. Whether you're craving classic pub fare like burgers and sandwiches, or fresh seafood dishes, Katie Downs has something for everyone. With indoor and outdoor seating options available, patrons can enjoy locally produced brews and an impressive selection of beers on tap while taking in the picturesque waterfront scenery.
Katie Downs is a restaurant on the water right on the water. Parking here is easy since it's a long row of spots in front but sometimes people park here to walk the trail along the water. Inside there are about 3 dozen tables plus an upstairs area and a patio area open during the summer. The service here is great, friendly and funny servers and quick food and drinks. Prices are a bit high for the portions but some of the food is really good like the curly fries and fish & chips. The pizza was alright, the sauce isn't really sauce and onions weren't cooked so it made it weird, and there's a lot of cheese that's really thick. The burgers were alright too. They have a ton of TVs to watch things, mostly sports. It opens at 11am for brunch and it's 21+ only, so no kids allowed. Overall it's an awesome spot with really cool views. Call for reservations if you plan on getting there after 1pm or dinner.

This was my husband and my first time and it was amazing! Candace was our server and she was outstanding!! Gave a bunch of good recommendations as well. The smile that she brings is so beautiful! The bartender was absolutely such a sweetheart as well. She came over to check on us twice and was so nice! Service like this is why people come back. Will definitely be back and it might be one of our new favorite spots! Thank you Candace and to the bartender as well😊

I really enjoyed my time at Katie Downs Waterfront Tavern. The beer selection was great. We ordered a few together with some onion rings and curly fries. It was a real treat. The service was friendly and funny. When we received our drinks, he made a joke that made us all laugh. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a refreshing seaside drink.

Took my cousin here for part of her Bachelorette weekend. All of us loved our food. It was so lovely sitting on the deck next to the water. Our waiter gave us amazing tips on what to order and what I consider "inside customizations" to menu items to make them even better. We would definitely go back!!

Great prices, great vibes, and a great view! We stopped here on a whim after our pottery session on a Saturday evening. We were quickly seated by the water and the service was friendly and efficient! I am a BIG fan of their garlic bread. We had so much fun chatting, watching the water, and enjoying very decent happy hour snacks. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a casual place to have a drink by the water!

Perched on a bluff overlooking Commencement Bay in Northeast Tacoma, the Cliff House Restaurant has been a Pacific Northwest landmark since 1925. Its elegant dining room offers sweeping views of Mount Rainier, Puget Sound, and Tacoma's skyline, making it an ideal spot for romantic dinners or special occasions. The restaurant also provides private dining options for formal events and celebrations.
The food was so good, I got the seafood pasta and usually am not the biggest fan of Italian food. I was impressed. Even more impressive was our server, he had a lot of personality, accommodating, and witty. The drinks were recommended by the server and were good as wells. We requested to go to the lower level as the upper level was more formal and eerily quiet. The staff moved us with no issues. The views from this place of the mountain are stunning, so is the drive. I recommend for date nights and special occasions.

Things have changed. Consistently getting better and better. We have traveled all over N. America and had some really good meals and service. Tonight our meals were top 5 in life at the Cliff House. Ate downstairs, the bartender tonight went out of his way to make things great!! Food is usually good, tonight it was spectacular!!! Good job guys!

It's a little on the pricey side but the food was very high quality, parking wasn't bad, and the views were great. We went when it wasn't busy and ate upstairs in the dining room. I can totally see how parking would be an issue when it got busier though, the lot is a bit small and I didn't see any good overflow close by. Staff was great, food was good, would go again

Worst food I have paid for in a long time. Salad was uneatable, fresh was the last word I could ever use to describe it. $32 fish and chips was worth nothing, it was so bad. Breading was weird and just not good. Don’t get me started on the coleslaw, they should be ashamed for the pricing they charge. $6 ginger ale tasted like club soda and chemicals. Why? Service was fine, they accepted right away that I didn’t want to pay for the salad, at least. I really didn’t want to pay for any of it, it was worthless. Their only saving grace is the view and nautical interior. Do not patron this place if you want any kind of satisfying food purchase.

Service was above par! I ordered Cioppino and Caesar salad, the gf ordered lobster and prawn Alfredo and clam chowder. The clam chowder was the best I’ve ever tasted. All seafood in both dishes were cooked to perfection, nothing in my Ciaoppino was over cooked. It’s difficult to find seafood that’s cooked to perfection. I forgot to snap a pic before I started to eat. 😉

I really enjoyed visiting this restaurant. Everything was good but there were some things I do think needs improvement. I ordered the fried oysters which were delicious but the breading was not crunchy at all. And the chocolate cake was very rich and more on the firm side. I personally like a soft spongy cake. Besides that everything was good!

Been here many times. Usually to purchase some sort of seafood. A few times to eat. Each visit has been pleasant. The quality of the seafood here is 💯. The food ordered to eat is also really good. There is only seating outside. It can get busy and sometimes you may meet some nice people who are willing to share their table. Food was handed out hot. The french fries were good as they were hot! Whether you’re eating fish and chips here or ordering raw fresh fish to take home. This is a great place to go! Staff are helpful and friendly too.

Good fish and chips place which is fairly priced but as others have pointed out, not show stopping quality. One of our pieces of fish was really chewy and falling out of the breading. Fries are good but fairly plain. Great staff and location! food comes out piping hot. I’d probably come back!
MEGHAN C — Google review
We love the fish and chips here- fresh and crispy! Service is always good too. Prices are okay-$17 for a 3 piece. We like their casual outdoor dining area near the water. 1 star off because we don’t care for the coleslaw, too much mayo and very little flavor.
J L — Google review
It's really fresh seafood that you can purchase to prepare later or just eat there many different meals 😋
Luis C — Google review
Usually really good but today Chris scammed me by charging full price for 2 x 3 piece halibut and not letting me know there was no coleslaw. I realized this when I opened the boxes and asked him if it normally comes with it. He said he was all out and did not have time to make coleslaw. I cant imagine that it takes that long. When I asked him about charging full price he said that the coleslaw is part of the meal. Not sure how that makes any sense.

Asado is an Argentine chophouse known for its mesquite-fired grill and candlelit ambiance. The restaurant specializes in grilled meat dishes, particularly beef, sourced from the Northwestern United States. Their menu features a variety of meats such as rolled skirt steak with Peruvian purple potatoes and grilled chicken breast with lemon sauce, all cooked on imported mesquite wood. In addition to meat options, they also offer seafood and vegetarian dishes like grilled scallop skewers and stuffed tomatoes with roasted chile.
Some of the best service I've had in quite a while. We tried the gnocchi and the burger. Both were executed well. Little touches like a bit of pink in the burger and seasoned fries helped the to slightly elevated. They're doing an Italian take on their menu for the month of January, so I can't speak to their regular menu. Would I say it's the best burger for the price and execution, no, but coming here is about the experience as well as good food.

This was my first time here. It was on a Sunday. It wasn’t busy. Parking is nuts, good luck. The place is small, but classy. I think they must rotate their menus. What I saw online was not the menu I received at the table. Their water is filtered. Their silverware and other items on the table are higher end. Tables and chairs are beautiful. The bathrooms are clean, unisex and private. The prices are a bit steep, but the food tasted great and the service was pretty decent. I would only be back for a special occasion.

We had a reservation and they were able to seat us slightly earlier! My first time here and the hostess was very welcoming. Our waiter gave us the time to look things over. I love that the menu isn’t overwhelming. Prices make sense for the quality of food they have here. We had an appetizer of empanadas. Very delicious! My boyfriend had the lamb and I had the mini mixta. Both were done amazing! I also added the shrimp which was worth it. We also had a side of fungi. It was too salty for our taste, but it was good nonetheless. The drinks were great with our dinner. We’d go back once we save more money!

02/07/2025: The two of us popped in around 530p on a Friday night. Bar looked pretty full, dining room less than half. Staff greeted us promptly and advised no seats available until a couple hours later and offered us bar seating. Waited about 10 minutes for bar seating. Staff still attentive and acknowledged that we were waiting for bar area. Once we were seated, we were given 3 menus (Happy Hour, Dinner, and Wine List). It was nice to see the HH menu offer smaller portions of their regular menu. I like to just have a small taste of different dishes without actually having an entire serving. We ordered a couple of drinks and the HH arancini (1 arancini) and sourdough (2 slices) to start then Cesar Salad (big enough to split), Oyster Mushrooms (enough for 2), Rib eye, and Steak Frites. Overall really great dining experience. We were very happy with the crew, who were nice, attentive, and prompt. You could tell they were aware of what was going on in the restaurant. Can't complain about the food, except the steak frites. The cut was really grisly and although good flavor made it difficult to eat. Rib eye cooked perfectly and on the leaner side. Total for 2 of us was $180. Will definitely visit again.

It's tucked away near the waterway and provides a contemporary atmosphere with water views. The restaurant serves high-quality seafood, including must-try dishes like clam chowder, crab cakes, and seafood nachos.
Delicious food, with above and beyond service in a casual atmosphere, and easy midday parking. Cioppino is highly recommended. Complex flavors of both savory and subtle details are deeply satisfying. Made-from-scratch richness for your palate. Lots of crab in the combo. All the dishes we had were tasty and memorable. Even took home the leftover broth from the clams and from the cioppino for toast dipping at home. Wonderful. Anxious for a repeat visit on a future trip to the area.

We visited on a cold, rainy weekday afternoon. There’s a parking lot next to the restaurant, and despite the weather, it was quite busy—we waited about 10 minutes for a table. The dining area was fairly spacious, and they thoughtfully provided coloring sheets for kids as soon as we sat down. As for the food, the clam chowder lived up to its reputation and was definitely a highlight. The lobster mac and cheese was flavorful, and the cod in the fish and chips tasted fresh. The calamari was crispy on the outside and tender inside—clearly fresh. The bang bang shrimp was tasty but not particularly special. Overall, it was a decent dining experience.

We went to dinner and ate at the bar. We started with raw oysters. They were so delicious. We then had the seafood dip. My husband had the seafood mac n cheese. I had the King Crab 🦀. It was definitely the king of the sea. Huge portion and tastes amazing. Fresh delicious food, knowledgeable and friendly staff, with a beautiful view of the water. I think I found my favorite dinner spot. It is also walkable distance from the Tacoma Dome, very convient to grab a drink and food before the show. I highly recommend checking it out. You will not be disappointed.

Delightfully delicious! We stopped here for lunch based on all the great reviews and we are SO satisfied! Great fish, great service and casual, comfortable atmosphere on the waterway. The Fish Peddler is located on the Thea Foss Waterway, which provides an appreciated water view complete with nautical activities. Had a nice lunch service, the staff were polite but could have been a bit more attentive. Had the halibut fish & chips, which was tasty. It was done well but the portion was a bit diminutive. There’s indoor and outdoor dining. There’s a well stocked bar. The decor is appropriate for the theme of the establishment. Wide variety of options on the menu. Good spot, will return next time I’m in the area.

We wanted lobster rolls, Penn Cove mussels & oysters, so found this place by the water. Unfortunately, they ran out of the mussels. The oyster sampler is a nice, inexpensive (compared to Seattle tourist spots) way to enjoy fresh tumbles. That day, it was clean, bright kumamotos, served with cocktail sauce & horseradish, & a sweet mignonette with chopped shallots. They offer Maine (warm) & Connecticut (cold) styles of proper, if understuffed lobster rolls. Toasted, buttered rolls were sliced down the middle & made just for this. We also enjoyed the bang bang shrimp appetizer & a main entree of linguine tossed in a light, garlicky spicy sauce with a substitution of prawns instead of Penn Cove mussels. Just as good & a highlight of our dinner. Another highlight was some of the best, chunky New England style chowder we've had. Go there early to avoid long waits, busy servers, & crowds.

Signature taste. Service was prompt and frequent. All the entrees and appetizers were delicious. The cod fish n chips were lacking a bit on portion size, and the creme brulee was a scoop of ice cream over an apple turnover like thing. The restaurant was open and clean, the scenery was nice and quiet.

Boathouse 19 is a casual waterfront restaurant in Tacoma, offering a variety of American dishes including local seafood and burgers. The restaurant features a deck that overlooks the picturesque Puget Sound, making it an ideal spot to enjoy stunning sunsets. The interior pays homage to the area's history, with the bar top and dining tables crafted from repurposed materials dating back to 1912.
Great spot for delicious seafood. We had the crab dip, blackened rockfish, and mahi tacos with the boathouse margaritas. The service was efficient, friendly, and faster than expected, especially on a holiday. The drinks are great and well crafted. The menu clearly identified gluten-free options, so it was easy to order. They have gluten-free buns, so you can enjoy the dips even with a gluten allergy.

Boathouse 19 offers a fantastic waterfront dining experience — we even got to watch harbor seals swimming while we ate! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was fast and attentive. They have a wide-ranging menu for both food and drinks. I especially enjoyed the apple crisp cider and the flavorful garlic bread. The only hiccup was some confusion about where to wait for our outdoor table. The hostess staff was very kind, but clearer guidance would have helped — especially since we had a handicapped individual with us who needed to sit during the 40-minute wait. There weren’t any visible benches or designated waiting areas, and we accidentally sat in what turned out to be a reserved seating area, thinking it was the bar. That said, once we were seated, the rest of the experience was excellent. The views, the food, and the overall atmosphere made it worth it. We would definitely return.

Looking for a place along the waterfront and found this place. The location is kind of hidden away and limited parking close by but you can’t beat the view of the sound and Tacoma Narrows bridge. It was a Friday night and luckily the 3 in our party was over 21 so we got to sit in the bar area. Our waiter was very knowledgeable but also the bartender. Menu had great options and pricing was to be expected for the location. I was excited about the deep fried pickles when I asked if spears or chips but I guess now I should ask if it’s “dill or sweet” because these were sweet. I’m not a fan of sweet pickles but I ordered them so was gonna finish. I love clam chowder and this one did not disappoint! The garlic bread was crispy but had too much garlic (there is such a thing lol). My other 2 companions were satisfied with their choices as well. Overall I would recommend giving this place a shot if in the area!

Went out for dinner here and had such an amazing experience. Staff was so kind!! We had a baby with us and wanted to sit indoors but near a window. Staff had us wait a couple minutes before taking us to a table with a gorgeous view. Our server was amazing! He recommended a really good wine. The beer and drinks were amazing. All the food we had was amazing. I am not a seafood person at all but the calamari was delicious. The seasoning was perfect and the tartar sauce which I believe is homemade is so good. I ordered the impossible burger which is easily the best burger I am ever had. The beef was so tender and juicy. My husband had the combo which he LOVED! We will definitely be back!!

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon around 2pm without reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Overall we found the food to be pricey but was very good and tasty and service was also very good with the exception that it took about 10 mins after being seated before our server came to our table to take our orders. The only other negative here is the high noise-level inside; however, dining outside is an option in good weather. Deep fried cheese curds were good, especially with the house-made pepper jelly. Pan-fried oysters were served hot and were very tasty and were served with fries that were exceptionally tasty and crispy – probably the best fries we've tasted in quite some time – well done Boathouse 19! The spicy seared wild salmon tacos were served hot and were quite tasty accompanied by a fresh cabbage salsa slaw – some of the best fish tacos I've tasted anywhere! The triple chocolate brownie sundae was very rich and delicious as was the strawberry sorbet. Although we paid fine-dining prices, the food was cooked to near perfection and was served hot and was quite tasty – we will be back.

Domonique took over as our waitress / server extraordinaire ! Polite, conscientious , attentive & timely ✅ ( great training ). Simple dishes as you will see ; caesar salad , straw onions & jalapenos , clam chowder , fish tacos for our best friends & a Rainier 🍺 beer. All fresh, flavorful, ample portioned & fairly priced ! Great value especially when one factors on their location ; WATERFRONT / MARINA / BOATS 🏆. There is absolutely no way anyone coming once would do anything different than returning multiple times . This is as certain a " No miss " establishment as Anthonys @ Point Defiance ( may even be the same owners ? ) Two West End Tacoma residents of 7 years & two best friends from Thailand ( Gigi & I ). So not to appear " Polyanna " & everythings perfect, a lone observation was the noise level amped up making it difficult for anyone with hearing impairment , outside of that , this becomes a Favorite, please see for yourselves, enjoy a few photo shares / memories 📝 from Tacoma / Aug 6,2025

Normally I'm a Fan.. but somehow my server lost my credit card between running and returning it.. then tried to make it out to be my fault and after raising her voice to me trying to tell me that i must have it coz she saw me take it out I'd the booklet and then asked me.. not once but twice if I'd check my wallet and make sure Thai i didn't.. Highly inappropriate! But the manager comped my dessert, asked my not to tip my her and informed me that she'd be reprimanded for her appalling behavior and for the awful way she treated me . But still live this lil spot.. especially to kayak up to the launch and pop in for a midday snack or a sipping doodle.

Greenhouse Restaurant is a sophisticated eatery in Uptown that offers refined American fare and craft cocktails in a spacious, modern interior. The restaurant prides itself on serving fresh, local, and organic fare with an earth-friendly ethos. What sets this place apart is its consistency—the quality of the food, drinks, and service is always impeccable. The warm and attentive staff ensures that every visit feels special. It’s easily one of my top dining destinations.

This establishment is located in a nice cluster of other shops, which means there is generally enough parking, and plenty to do or see before or after your meal. The menu is swerved toward seafood for all the right reasons - they know how to prepare it and present it! Crab cakes were as delicate as crab feathers if there could be such a thing. Quite lovely. Duck breast cooked to order was still tender and tasty when cooked to our preference of medium well. Service staff, including the artisan bar tenders, were welcoming. Lovely desserts, drinks, appetizers, and mains. Fresh flowers on tables. A neat bar area to meet friends and chat. Clean restrooms. Would definitely return to this elevated experience in Gig Harbor.

Delicious food, exceptional service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It has become a tradition for our family to choose Greenhouse to celebrate birthdays and milestones, and our most recent experience was to celebrate my birthday. Everything from the drinks to dessert was exceptional. The staff was so attentive, friendly and went above and beyond, making for a lovely evening!

I was celebrating a personal milestone with a splurge on a chateaubriand, spending over \$200 after tip. While dining on the patio, harmless hoverflies—bee-like, non-aggressive insects—were flying around. Unfortunately, the waitress, trying to swat them with a bug zapper, accidentally smacked my chateaubriand steak with it. She said “oops” and walked away after telling me to let her know if I needed anything. I spoke with the supervisor, who offered to replace the dish or issue a partial refund. Since I had only eaten two slices of the 18 oz steak and lost my appetite, I requested a partial refund. After checking with the owner, I was told no refund would be given—only a free dessert, which I declined as I no longer wanted to eat there. I paid the full amount and left disappointed. For a \$200+ meal, especially with the main dish affected, I expected far better hygiene and customer service.

My bestie and I had a lady date here and it was so incredibly delicious!!! I had the scallops, and she had the duck. Both were delectable!! I had the side piece cocktail which basically tasted like raspberry sorbet, with an adult twist. Cannot wait to go back!! Service was also super quick and attentive. 10/10 would recommend!!

We had a lovely 1st time at Greenhouse. We were up visiting with friends from Olympia and had such a great time being taken care of by Madison! She was fantastic! Attentive. Patient. Fun and funny. Kind. Has a great sense of humor. Knowledgeable. Just made it a great start to our date day in Gig Harbor. We hope to return on another one of Madison's "Mondays" and our "Saturdays!" We are greatful for the impeccable service, including the host (I didn't catch his name) who sat us for our reservation that we arrived almost 30 minutes early for (oops!). He had a great attitude, gentle tone, warm smile, and with an ease welcomed us with a nice chat about the day and we had a laugh as he sat us quickly. It felt like he knew how the warm hand-off works. We had a fantastic meal, enjoyed some well-made classic cocktails (my square ice cube was imprinted with Gh - it was a fun surprise when it arrived!), and felt really well taken care of in the posh decor and luxe layout. We'll definitely be back and tell many others to, as well!

Madison was a wonderful server from the beginning to the end! The food and drinks were amazing and we appreciated her opinion to help guide us to the right selections!

Aug2025. The decoration and ambience was impeccable! The service outstanding. The food was mediocre and overpriced. Tasted nothing but the garlic, poor balance between pasta/meat ratio, poor quality parm. I wish there was more diversity in the choices overall.

New American restaurant
American restaurant
Bar
Bar Bistro is a high-end New American restaurant located in the Midland neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. The bistro features a seasonal menu of Northwest favorites, as well as fine wines, craft beers and cocktails prepared with top-shelf spirits.
The atmosphere was comfortable and medium casual. Their menu was well put together and versatile, all good choices! I got the Mac n cheese topped with steak tips, it was well presented and rich. My friend got a salad, and found it fresh and well portioned. I recommend the fried Brie, the dish was delicious!

✨ If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would! The food was phenomenal every bite was full of flavor and made with such care. To top it off, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. It’s rare to find a place where the service, food, and atmosphere all align so perfectly. I’ll be recommending this gem to everyone I know and then some! Can’t wait to come back. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Had a great experience! Eric, the owner is amazing; he made us feel very welcome and accommodated. The food was well presented and delicious 😋 Can’t wait for our next visit!
GABE U — Google review
I really wanna give this place 5 stars. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the servers were very nice. However it seems due to staffing issues the servers were very busy and making minor mistakes. It is at no fault of their own. They were all working very hard and running around the restaurant the entire time. I ordered the ribeye and it was a great portion/ cooked perfectly to medium rare.
Korey K — Google review
Food I would give 7/10. The apps we had were pretty solid (order the brie!!!) but the paella was somewhat lacking in flavor. Cocktails were pretty good (what you’d expect) but the service was pretty slow and the place was not very crowded. The food came out quickly and the person who took care of us was very friendly. Maybe would have ordered more if the service was faster.
S T — Google review
I echo other reviewers - if I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Incredible wagyu burger and sweet potato fries (ordered mine with bacon and avocado), and the Alpine Meadows spirit-free beverage was the best mocktail I’ve ever had. Our group ordered a piece of the carrot cake and someone said “this is the best carrot cake I’ve ever had.” So, go here, you’ll leave with a happy stomach.

I am blown away by how delicious the food is! The staff were also very attentive and hospitable. We will be back, because the menu was loaded with great things to try and we felt very welcomed there. Pricing is very reasonable! I'm still raving about the food!

Citron European Bistro is a charming eatery in Parkland, Tacoma, offering a mix of French, German, and other European dishes such as wiener schnitzel and beef bourguignon. Chef Christophe Durliat brings a taste of his native Alsace to the restaurant. The bistro has a sweet and mellow ambiance with a full menu available alongside special Thanksgiving plates. Reservations are recommended due to its popularity.
What a hidden gem! Who would imagine a whole-in-the-wall French restaurant near Tacoma? We loved the laid-back atmosphere and service, paired with the excellent main dishes. The pork shoulder was our favorite. Looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.

Wonderful desserts! The signature Citron Crepe is a must try! The food is very unique and flavorful with large portions. The atmosphere is clean and very basic and cold. It's expensive but not fancy or high class.
Anita B — Google review
The place to go when you want a genuine homemade European dinner. We visited twice this month and all the food we tried was amazing including the beef bourguinon, mussels, lamb, and fish. Touch of garden adds such freshness to the meals. The desserts are exceptional. Crepes are are must try.

I ate here tonight and it was a wonderful time! The food was excellent. I ate the Boeuf bourgignon and the onion soup, both perfectly cooked. My compliments to the chef for the awesome food and great time!
Erik P — Google review
Wow! Talk about a hidden gem! Found this amazing place on the way to Olympia, WA. The chef here loves cooking and it shows. Amazing food. French Onion soup was fantastic. Boef Burguinone was as good as I have ever had, and the hand made spaetzle put it over the top. The Weinerschnitzel was also exceptional, and the included Jaeger sauce was awesome! Finally, the Crepes Citron added an expertly prepared sweet finish to a genuinely awesome dinner. I have no idea why this place isn't packed-the location is definitely odd, but if you find yourself anywhere near Citron, you should definitely make an effort to stop by for dinner.

Yum! Good quality ingredients and just the right portion size to fill you. Very down to earth and family-friendly atmosphere. Seems very random for Spanaway to have a restaurant like this, haha. Very sweet of the chef to come out and say hello. I believe he is actually from France. We got the escargot, duck, salmon, and they had blueberry pie that day. The pie was not sweet like a typical American desserts but still good. The menu of the photo Merrillee posted I believe has the most accurate prices as of MAR24.
Sophie W — Google review
Citron European Bistro is truly a gem. Went for the second time and they happened to be open on Thanksgiving! They were very welcoming, the staff was prompt to provide friendly service. The chef is a maestro in the kitchen - both the tomato soup with young spinach and french onion soup were so warm and flavorful. The main course special was a lamb shank with assorted vegetables and beans (they also had a turkey and stuffing special but opted for the lamb). A wide assortment of dessert options to finish the meal, that night we went with the crepes Citron. Light and flaky crepe served with fruit and whipped cream. Filled with a soft sponge and citron creme that paired perfectly with a caramel drizzle over top, combined for a great finish to the meal.

Soup restaurant
Takeout Restaurant
Infinite Soups, nestled in the heart of downtown Tacoma, is a culinary gem that transforms soup-making into an art form. With a dynamic menu that changes regularly, this spot offers four distinct categories: creamy, non-creamy, vegan, and vegetarian. Each day brings new flavors to explore—think chicken gorgonzola tortellini or smoky split pea—crafted with minimal ingredients yet bursting with taste.
As a soup enthusiast, I'm always searching for great soup spots, and this place caught my attention while I was in the area. Specializing exclusively in soups made fresh daily, they offer a variety of options for everyone. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They only accept cash or checks, but they kindly let me sample before purchasing. I opted for the three cheese potato soup in the largest size and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll definitely be returning to try other flavors. Note that there is no seating inside, so it's a pick-up-and-go experience. I highly recommend this place!

I really enjoyed the chicken curry soup and the ham, broccoli, cheddar!! The building is a bit small to handle all the foot traffic, so I was lined up outside, but def worth the wait!

this is a tiny hole in the wall, just a small counter and some amazing soup! friendly service, generous samples, more than reasonable prices ($6 for a cup to $8 for a pint). i got the creamy meatball as well as the curried chicken. i will definitely be back!

This is basically the world's most heartwarming shack full of soup ever. It's literally a kitchen and a counter where you get soup. Very wholesome and welcoming vibes and excellent soup. Keep this place open w your love.

This place is a must but frequently sells out so you better get there early and be prepared with cash! I have tried a lot of different soups here and they’re all delicious. I also love the bread and biscuits.

Walk in / take out only. Cash only. They offer sample tastes too! That makes it even harder to decide, lol. But by far the best soup you'll ever have in your life!!! (And fresh rolls)
Robin W — Google review
A good variety of soups on offer. The soup options rotate. Our group ordered 4 different soups and they were delicous. The 3 cheesy potato, green chili corn chowder, and the beef/mushroom/barley were particularly delicious. Take out only.

Veg and vegan options. Was warned the excellent curry chickpea soup was spicy, and broke into a sweat, it was great. Wife said her corn chowder was wonderful. No seating, so took it to the Park nearby. We are coming back for sure.

Fast food restaurant
Ivar's Seafood Bar is a popular local chain known for its casual atmosphere and delicious seafood offerings. The restaurant is famous for its legendary clam chowder and award-winning fish n chips, which are made using only wild Alaskan halibut, salmon, and Pacific True Cod caught from local Northwest vessels. With two locations in Jamestown and Lakewood, Ivar's offers classic seafood meals in an old-school diner setting.
We love to try the new stuff that hits the menu, recently it was the coconut shrimp and sweet chili sauce and it was so delicious and satisfying. This is a good location, its clean and tidy always. The staff is very friendly and helpful, this is a great lunch spot.

Honest staff who inform us that there is ham in the chowder, but 2nd choice was seafood/salmon, amazing taste, fish & chips as well

Ivar's Seafood Bar deserves a solid 5 stars! The staff was incredibly helpful and made our visit memorable. The music selection was a delightful blast from the past, featuring Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, and even "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." These classics added a fantastic touch to the atmosphere. And let's not forget the highlight - the 4 piece Salmon and chips were not just delicious but simply outstanding. A fantastic dining experience!
DJ I — Google review
Always a solid experience at this Ivar’s location. The staff are consistently friendly, the place is clean, and the food delivers every time. I was starving today, so I went big—a double, a cup of chowder, and clams ‘n chips to-go for my dad. Everything hit the spot. I’ve been going to Ivar’s in Seattle since I was a kid, so it’s great having a dependable spot here in Tacoma when I need my fix but can’t make the trip north. This location holds its own—glad it’s here.

We started with the clam chowder. Then we tried the 2 piece panko fish and chips. Then the Seafood Combo that comes with 1 fish, shrimp and clams.
Eatingtacoma ( — Google review
Friendliest Ivar's staff I've interacted with ever! Fresh and tasty Caesar salad worked nicely with my Seafood combo (no fries, I'm looking to cut down.) Only one entrance door was a bit awkward because they have three exterior doors. The outdoor dining faces a rather busy street, but the tables were cleaner than most places.
Daveyb98126 — Google review
If I could give it a 10 I would ! The clams were so tender, especially in the chowder. The clams strips had crunchy coating and tender clams. Fries were perfect, crisp outer cooked inside, light color to them. If you like seafood you can't go wrong!!

Crab King Cajun Boil & Bar is a popular seafood boil spot located at 3111 S 38th St, Tacoma, WA. It offers excellent customer service and delicious food that can also be ordered to go. The flavors are unique and the seafood is served in a bag, allowing it to retain its great taste even when enjoyed at home. The restaurant provides ample parking and fast service. The casual layout makes it comfortable for diners to enjoy their meal messily if they wish.
We looked at several different crab boil places and decided on this one. When we entered 5:30pm there were only a handful of other patrons. We were seated promptly, it did seem like it took our waiter longer than it should have to come to us but it was not a long wait. Our drinks and food came quickly, the food was hot and had a ton of sauce. We got the Harbor lover with garlic butter at a mild. The sauce was the star of the show but all of the food was tasty and cooked perfectly. We had some to take home and we were full. I would say that service was ok. I did have to ask for water after it sitting empty for quite a while. When we left the place was mostly full. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful experience celebrating my husband's birthday here. Our server was both entertaining and attentive, which added to the enjoyable atmosphere. Since the portions were quite generous, we decided to share a bag and still ended up with leftovers. I would definitely return on future visits to this area and highly recommend that others give it a try!

The GZone's Review of the Crab King Cajun Boil & Bar at 3111 S 38th St, Tacoma, WA: 1st time experience at CKCB, and it was on point. Looks small from the outside but comfortable inside. The staff are awesome. Shout out to our host, Yung, who made our dining experience even more enjoyable. I also want to acknowledge the Chef's and their food preparation. Our seafood boils & fried dishes were nicely seasoned and cooked to perfection. Our meals were brought out 15 to 20mins after ordering. Not bad since it was starting to get busy. Our orders were served warm, and the catfish, hush puppies, fries & shrimp were well prepared. The shrimp practically melted in my mouth. Our Shrimp Boil & beginners Seafood Boil was also a highlight. In closing, CKCB holds its own against all the other "Creole, Cajun, Crawfish Boil" restaurants. Very clean, well run, excellent Staff & Chef's, so I'll definitely be back!🥊🥊🥊 G *p.s. my personal experience.

I only took a pic of the bread! Once the boil hit the table we dived in. Everything was so good including my Hurricane. Our server J4 was excellent! He was patient. He answered all of our questions and even though we were still eating at close, we were not rushed. Thank you for the great food and hospitality, all the way from Louisville, KY.

I ordered the seafood classic boil. It's pricey but 2 or more people can share it. Make sure you get the shake special blend sauce 👌🏽 Chefs kiss 💋 My picture doesn't do it justice. This was leftover and I hadn't put the sauce on it
Brenda C — Google review
My husband and I decided to have a date night here. The staff was wonderful and so nice when we entered. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. The music choice is appropriate for all and not too loud, where you couldn't hear one another. We ordered hush puppies and the harbor boil, with medium spice cajun sauce. Hush puppies are my favorite appetizers and they did not disappoint! They are bite sized and full of flavor. The harbor consisted of shrimp, mussels, snow crab, corn, and potatoes. The seafood was all fresh! The shrimp was perfectly cooked, mussels were tender, and the snow crab was buttery, as if just caught. The portions for everything was large and could've fed 4 people easily with a few more appetizers. It was definitely worth the price and we left fuller than we had ever been in any seafood place. We recommend for date nights or a fun family dinner experience.
Mea N — Google review
We used to eat here once a week. We now will maybe eat once a year. We were okay with the price increase after about a year of being open, we were not okay with the lower quality. They cut corners on the quality of sauce. It used to be great. Delicious, so thick you can scoop it and full of flavor.
Galina K — Google review
Order the Cajun noodle with chicken. Was extremely TASTELESS! chicken was hard to chew. And the catfish was ok. But again not much taste. Didn't really get checked on either when the food can. Had to look for our server. Would NOT recommend this place.
