Bakery
Takeout Restaurant
When in Padstow, Cornwall, a visit to The Chough Bakery is a must for anyone craving traditional Cornish pasties. This family-run bakery has been serving up award-winning pasties for 40 years, with flavors like cheese and leek, steak and blue cheese, and lamb and mint. Their secret ingredient of clotted cream gives their pasties an extra touch of Cornish authenticity.
Great position on the quayside. Very busy at peak season but you get served very quickly by the polite staff. Good choice of pasties, very tasty. One of the best in Cornwall. Very good seasoning and the meat is nice and moist. Found the pastry a little dry, non the less, still great pasties.
Paul L — Google review
The scones used to be large and distinct. We got some every year. Where have they gone? Very small now taste like Tesco's at twice the price. The pasties no longer lead the field so we shop elsewhere
John C — Google review
Pasties were once lovely from here so I was excited to be in Padstow. What a disappointment. 4 pasties, over £22 and served COLD! Who wants a cold pasty! When asked, they did warm them up but they were very dry and not enjoyable at all. So disappointing and we will never be back.
Joanne P — Google review
Have been a regular visitor to the Chough Bakery over the years and was excited to drop by again on a recent visit to Padstow. This time, I have to say I was really disappointed by their service. I asked about gluten free options on their cakes and their staff couldn’t confirm what allergens their cakes had. What was worse was the general disinterested attitude of the staff. Not good - especially as there is a sign above the counter requesting that you ask any questions about dietary allergies and intolerances. In the end I left without making a purchase.
Jonathan L — Google review
Disappointing pasties and teacakes. Both were bland in flavour and the pastry on the pasties was dry. Considering that Cornish pasties are a local specialty a bakery should be able to produce ones of good quality.
G R — Google review
Always go here when visiting Cornwall, great pasties, scones and take away cups of tea. Lovely staff who are always pleasant even when busy x
Stephanie D — Google review
Generic catering style pasty not the same as they were here in the past. And also £4.95 for a medium steak.
Pounce — Google review
“What happened to the big, round Bakewell tart you’ve always baked and served? It’s now just tiny oblong slices. At least Rick Stein’s Bakery round the corner still makes a proper full tart.”

Bakery
St Agnes Bakery is a popular spot located in the coastal village of St Agnes, North Cornwall. Despite its remote location, it has gained popularity and positive reviews from visitors. The bakery offers a variety of delicious baked goods including pasties, sausage rolls, and sweet treats. Customers have praised the quality and taste of their gluten-free options as well as their savory pasties filled with meat, vegetables, and cheese.
After becoming somewhat of a pasty aficionado I can confidently say that the pasties from St. Agnes go far above & beyond the normal demands of a pasty! They are huge, packed with ingredients, and spiced just right! Nice & peppery! After a couple pasty let downs here in Cornwall we were suggested to try these from a small shop where we stayed in Crantock village and this was probably the best pasty I’ve ever eaten! My wife and I both decided to pop down for another in an hour haha Thanks 🙏 you guys are carrying on the tradition in full British fashion and you should be very proud of yourselves!
Fat S — Google review
Just had traditional and cheese & onion pasties from this lovely place, they were amazing! Followed by salted caramel brownie, millionaire shortbread and bakewell slice - all equally fabulous! Thank you to the lovely lady who served me for being so kind and for giving us less death-defying directions back to Crantock - you really did save my sanity today 😊
Vanessa F — Google review
Fantastic pasty. Beautiful pastry. Huge amount of tasty filling, chicken and chorizo. Staff patient . Vegan and veggie selection. Sausage rolls looked amazing.
Deborah J — Google review
Great quality huge ham and cheese roll full of thick quality ham and cheese, rocket, tomato, cucumber. Easily big enough to share. Excellent value for money
Ann N — Google review
Fantastic sausage roll and morning coffee on my coast path hike. I always make a point to visit St Agnes bakery when I visit. delicious food, the best sausage rolls in Cornwall and cheerful staff. Perfect hiking and beach fuel. Thanks
Fitness E — Google review
Oh my god, I would come here for the rest of my life. Most friendly people in their lovely location, the food is some of the best I’ve ever tasted in my 9 years of experience in the food industry. Pasty 10/10, Big fat sausage roll 11/10, Moist, gooey, flapjack was 1000000000000/10, big up the bakery, must come here! Will be returning. Form Australia! But parking is hard, food makes up for it!
Hayden T — Google review
Drove here on recommendation from a friend. Well worth the visit. Purchased a steak and ale pasty and a rosemary and chilli sausage roll. Both were delicious and absolutely loaded with meat, I couldn’t finish the sausage roll because of how big it was! Staff were polite and friendly. The bakery was clean and nice to be in. Would recommend!
Peter F — Google review
An excellent town bakery, I’d say it’s even better than a couple of our bakeries back home in France. Bread is delicious, their viennoiseries are very good, and so are the sausage rolls and pasties, which you can smell from down the road. And their raspberry jam is just excellent, we bought a jar for morning toast. Highly recommend.

St Ives Bakery is a must-visit in St Ives, known for its incredible bakes produced using traditional artisan methods for over 20 years. The bakery offers freshly baked bread perfect for breakfast or lunch and their Cornish pasty stands out with its flaky crust and flavorful filling.
LOVE LOVE LOVE First time having a flaky steak! This one didn’t disappoint surely! Will be a staple when visiting Newquay i think :)
Jerimae G — Google review
It was a lovely bakery. Fresh goods. Decently priced. Very many options. Some goods were a little dry and some pastries not as flaky as we expected. But a lovely bakery to visit indeed.

Do you like flour-based food? Then you’re in for a treat! I wouldn’t miss a single bite of this dough — you made the right choice. You have to try it: the best bread and patties ever!
Adventure ( — Google review
People queue to get in. The sourdough loaf is superb. The cruffins look amazing, but I didn't try them. The stake pasty is really good.
Monica F — Google review
Scrumptious sour dough, delicious chocolate tiffins and sausage rolls. Also love their pasty's and cruffins.
Catherine C — Google review
Wonderful bakery serving freshly made treats! It does get busy but queues move quickly. The steak pasty, (jam and custard filled) cruffin and Bakewell blondie we shared were all delicious and would highly recommend.
James H — Google review
Love the almond croissant, the best one I think I’ve ever had. Perfection. £3.45. The Blondie was quite nice, a bit like a crushed Bakewell tart. £3.05
Silver E — Google review
Loved it! 💛 We tried the almond croissant, blondie, and the cheese & veg pasty and enjoyed every bite. Everything was delicious, but the blondie and almond croissant were the real standouts! 😋 We also had some dietary requirements, and the lady serving us was so kind and patient, taking the time to explain and help us choose what suited us best. Such a lovely experience overall! ✨

Hampsons of Hayle, established in 1966 as a butcher shop, has expanded to include two locations offering top-quality handmade Cornish pasties with over 21% meat content. They take pride in using their own butchered meat for the pasties and also operate a deli featuring local products. The breakfast pasty is a must-try, filled with their own sausage, bacon, hogs pudding, egg, tomato, back bacon and black pepper.
We were directed here from a sales person in St Ives he told these were the best pasties in Cornwall It didn't disappoint
Bruce W — Google review
Great pasties. Great ingredients, quality and reasonable prices.
Christoforos K — Google review
Highly recommended, I have bought several birthday cakes from here now, all personalised and each one has been made to perfection. So much tastier than supermarket bought birthday cakes and you can't go wrong for £10, they're huge! They also come in a variety of flavours, my personal favourite being vanilla but the chocolate one is lovely too. The staff are always super friendly and helpful in both Foundry and Copperhouse shops, I will certainly be a long term customer and will recommend to family and friends 🙂
Fliss W — Google review
We can only speak of our experience of the pasties to be honest which are tremendous! The "standard" size pasties are more than adequate for, I would think, the vast majority of people. However, they do a large size which I did my best but failed to finish once. Lesson learnt I would only buy the large size to use as a surfboard or to convert to a coffee table. Good , friendly service and the impression of a well trusted quality butcher's.
David S — Google review
About time you changed your web site which says butcher bakery? According to the less than polite lady serving you haven’t sold meats for about 3 years! The pasty that we bought was nice but not the best we have had whilst down here on hols
Dave G — Google review
Omg , the best steak bought pie Iv'e eaten.. I have had a few . 😊😊
Ian R — Google review
Visited here in 2019, now in April 2022, we are down in Cornwall for a weeks holiday from South Wales. This is our first day and we came straight here. The BEST pasty shop in the UK as far as I'm concerned. Incredible. Even the kids ate them with no complaints! Chaps in the shop are so friendly and lovely to talk too!!! Fabulous and so so so yummy!!!
Jenni M — Google review
Probably the best pastie I have ever eaten. Also purchased two of their family pies, one beef and ale and one chicken. If they have the same meat quality and content as the pasties I cannot wait to eat them. I can confirm that after eating the pies, they were both gorgeous. Both were full of large succulent pieces of meat, with a pastry topping that was lovely and crisp even after defrosting. Better than anticipated and will buy more the next time we visit.

Bakery
Morris Pasties Gover is a quaint pasty shop located in the heart of Newquay Town. They offer locally-made pasties using a secret family recipe from St Columb. Visitors rave about the delicious flavors, with options like steak and stilton, traditional, and lamb & mint (although not always available). The shop's delectable offerings have garnered praise from both locals and tourists alike.
I googled up looking for a location that sold a traditional Cornish pasty and this came up as a highly reviewed option. So we made the 15 min drive to get our hands on one of these bad boys.. and as expected we were not disappointed! It was one of the nicest Pasty’s I had had. Flavoursome and well cooked. The temperature was perfect. Def recommend stopping by !
Shafanaz — Google review
Unfortunately not a good pasty. Very under seasoned traditional pasty, under baked as the pasty was pale and doughy and the beef was white and not a deep brown like other pasties I've had. I'm glad they have gluten free options so I'll add a star for that, but it really wasn't good at all. Will look elsewhere next time.
Gabriel ( — Google review
Best cornish pasties in Cornwall. This shop has been around since I was a kid and hasn't changed. Always worth a visit when we come down for a holiday.
Emma P — Google review
We're vegetarian so go for a cheese and onion pasty, we'd had a very disappointing one the day before (from somewhere else) so were hoping for better, and Morris' pasty did not disappoint! Perfectly cooked, deep golden brown, just the right ratio of pastry to filling, and a gorgeously tasty and creamy cheese, onion and potato filling. Completely perfect!
Jo G — Google review
“This was by far the most amazing Cornish pasty I have ever had! The taste, the flavour, the aroma, the warmth, the filling, and the texture of the pastry were all simply perfect. The seasoning was spot on, and you could tell it was crafted by truly skilled hands. Thank you for giving me such a feast — I highly recommend it to everyone!” ASHLEY DRUNKEN SURFER
Aslıhan K — Google review
Chicken, cream and leek pasty was lovely and fresh. Cruffin with custard was even better!
Megan — Google review
One of the best places in Newquay to grab yourself a Pasty. They are so so good. Delicious, and the best bit a really good temperature. This place has always been a go to stop every time. It's on the walk down to Towan Beach. Plenty of options if you want to have something other than a traditional including other flavours, sausage rolls and other baked goods. Every time I'm in Newquay, this place gets a visit.
Robb S — Google review
Visited Morris Pasties in the last week of August whilst on a weeks holiday in Cornwall. Been here a few times over the years whenever visiting the area and it never fails to disappoint. The food is delicious and the staff have always been very friendly. Looking forward to our next visit 😀

Malcolm Barnecutt Bakery Newquay is a popular spot known for its delicious pasties, large steaks, and vegetable options. In addition to their renowned pasties, they offer a variety of baked goods such as cakes, bread, sausage rolls, and sandwiches. Despite being busy, the staff are friendly and provide excellent service. Customers praise the bakery for its top-quality and tasty food.
Was passing and visited on a whim. Had one of the best steak pasties I’ve had in a long time. Peppery, buttery and plenty of steak. Looking forward to my next visit
George W — Google review
I've had Barnecutts on a number of occasions this week whilst I've been on holiday and that says it's offered consistency, accessibility and convenience. I've tried a number of items from the menu to build an informed review. Overall the best thing I've tried is the jam donuts. They are absolutely the best donuts I've ever tried and exceptional value at just 75p each. Onto the proper food... the best pasty I've tried is the steak pasty. This pasty had the most flavour and had a lovely saucy juiciness inside. There wasn't a great deal of meat but the meat was nice. However it wasn't the best pasty in the world. I've had far better pasties elsewhere. I would drive from Newquay to Looe for a Sarah's pasty but wouldn't drive from Looe to Newquay for Barnecutts. Same story with Philps in Hayle I would absolutely drive to Hayle for a Philps pasty but wouldn't do the reverse journey for a Barnecutts. So the steak is the best pasty and it's a solid 8/10, the beef madras also very tasty but very little meat inside I got literally maybe 3 or 4 pieces of beef the size of a tictac mint also a 8/10 the cheese and onion I'd give a 6/10, veg pasty also a 6/10. Jumbo Sausage rolls maybe a 7/10. Overall its a decent bakery with great customer service, very friendly staff, ideally situated near a multitude of fantastic beaches. Decent-ish food at reasonable prices. Better than your usual large chain rubbish Greggs/Warren's etc. Overall 7/10.
Dean Y — Google review
Spent a week on holiday just behind this bakery. Pasties are by far the best in Cornwall which means best in the country! All baked on site from 5:30am. Perfect pastry, nice and thin, packed with filling, lovely chunks of meat and not over seasoned. Ordered 12 large ones to go home. Smelt them all the way home for 5 1/2 hours! Lovely helpful staff. Here’s one I had on holiday. Keep it up, well done.
Martin M — Google review
Second visit to this place, fantastic choice of pasties. Something for everyone. The cake selection what a choice so many to choose from. Would highly recommend this Bakery. We even brought some frozen pasties to take back home after our holiday.
Kim F — Google review
Everyone reviews the pasties here but I’d like to mention the amazing and reasonably priced cakes and bread. I bought three iced Chelsea buns for £1.65 each and they were huge, with plump, juicy sultanas, soft, light and very tasty. They came in a lovely cardboard presentation box so felt very posh! I also got a pack of 4 white bread rolls which were also delicious and soft.
Joanne R — Google review
I was choosing my salad on the other side of the bakery and my child was just about to get her chicken pasty because she left all her stuff in a little pile on the side of the counter. She reached to get her pasty but then an employee takes her pasty behind the counter, gives it to a different customer and they took a bite out of her pasty after we had just paid for it! When we complained they said that that was the last one and they can give us a refund if we would like, Terrible customer service.I am not very impressed and will not be going there again.
A A — Google review
Stopped by this lovely bakery in Newquay and were met with warm, friendly staff and an amazing selection of baked goods. The pasties were absolutely delicious, some of the best we’ve had! A true gem for anyone craving a proper Cornish treat.
Cosmin C — Google review
Some of the pasties even have meat in them! (Beware the potentially unplanned vegetarian options) Bought two pasties and drinks for me and my partner to enjoy overlooking the sea. Unfortunately my pastie had literally one “chunk” (actually several small pieces melded together) of meat in it, whilst my partners was reasonable. Certainly not good value for money at £3.35 per medium pastie - is this as good as they get? Don’t trust me, trust the photos, guess which two pics were of my pastie. If we had t walked a fair distance before eating, I would have returned for a refund. Sort out your portion control Malcolm!!

Nestled in the charming town of Looe, Sarah's Pasty Shop is a beloved family-run bakery that has been delighting locals and visitors alike for nearly three decades. This quaint establishment, housed in a picturesque fishing cottage, fills the air with the irresistible scent of freshly baked pasties made from homemade pastry and high-quality local ingredients.
A must visit!!!! We met the lovely Lucy whilst sorting her car out and she told us all about her family run pasty shop in Looe. We just had to try them. Lucy very kindly delivered us some pasties and we were blown away. The pasties were so tasty! The pastry was perfect and the filling was great. They were a generous size too! Lucy and all the staff are so warm and welcoming and very friendly. Such a great, local, family business. We were also treated to some cakes from Sarah’s cake shop which is also run by the family. Again incredible!! We will definitely be heading down to Looe to get our Sarah’s fix again very soon! Could not recommend more!!
Kari S — Google review
Yummy, There's a que here for a reason! It's well worth the wait and queuing for. They are absolutely massive and well worth the prices asked for each one, and all are incredibly tasty. I couldn't get a photo in fear that the seagulls would attack me and steal my pastie. Apparently it's the best pasty in Looe, I possibly couldn't say as haven't tasted them all but hey it's very very good. Small shop , low beams , very clean , drinks available, other products to eat too.
Daniel L — Google review
What can I say, just great tasty pasties with loads of filling. The bacon, leek and cheese is a firm favourite and is a must try for anyone. The traditional is packed full with filling and is so heavy, it certainly sets you up for the day. We always visit when we are down in Looe with our Jack Russell who is warmly welcomed. One of the best pasties in Cornwall by far.
Paul L — Google review
Tried 3 vegan pasties here – Thai Spicy, Chickpea, and Vegetable – and loved all three! The flavors were spot on, the fillings generous, and the jumbo size makes it perfect for a hearty meal. The crust is different from other pasties I’ve had – flakier and full of character, which adds to the overall taste. Definitely a must-visit for vegan pasty lovers! One thing to note: the opening hours listed on Google Maps weren’t accurate during our visit. I’m uploading a photo to help others with the correct timing. Highly recommend this place – worth the stop!
Virendra B — Google review
Recommended by a local shopkeeper, we stopped by for lunchtime pasties. Three of us opted for the cheese and onion flavoured ones whilst my husband went for the Thai Butternut squash one. Decent sized and none of us could finish ours, so the leftovers were recycled into another meal. We also bought an apple pasty that was equally as delicious as the savoury ones.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Absolutely amazing Cornish pasties. We had 4 different ones, including the gluten free pasty (ordered the day before). All were excellent, both in size and taste. Will definitely be returning when we are near Looe!
Michael W — Google review
Have had Sarah’s a few times over the years and hate to say it but this was the worst pasty I’ve ever had. Half way in and have come across the smallest bit of meat. They use to be juicy, meaty and full of flavour this just tastes like potato there is no seasoning wat so ever it’s so bland. And to top it off the lady behind the counter serving was rude and had no customer services skills acting like she didn’t want to be there. Will not be retuning as it’s a 2hr 30min round trip and was highly disappointed. It’s a shame because these pasty’s have always been top tier and delicious.
James — Google review
Where is the meat? Really disappointing after the reviews, we bought the lamb and mint and traditional and both where lacking in meat, add to that they where both dry and lacked seasoning. Lady serving seemed a bit fed up as well slapping the pasties on the counter when she was serving people.

Philps is a renowned bakery in Cornwall known for making the best pasties according to locals. The recipes used are the same as those created by the bakery's founder, Sam Philps. Customers praise the friendly staff and delicious pasties, with some recommending options like Steak and Cheese or veggie cheese pasties. The crust of the pastries is described as crumbly, soft, and divine.
Finally managed to visit a Philps when in Cornwall last weekend, having read rave reviews previously. We weren't disappointed, our pasties were full of meat, potato and pepper and not greasy like some. Wonderful pastries on sale as well - see the photo of the 'Elephant's Foot', so huge we had to share it, but surprisingly light on the stomach.
Andy S — Google review
Best pasties in Cornwall. Coming here for 40 years. This is the smaller shop on Foundry Hill, just down the road from the big Philps on East Quay. Never dissapoints, highly recommended.
Rick M — Google review
Miserable, unhelpful elderly lady with short white hair and glasses serving at the counter. Off putting. Pasties were mildly warm and lacked flavour, overly hyped in my opinion.
Tim R — Google review
So delicious! We got the veggie cheese pastie, vegan pastie and the minced meat pastie. The bread/crust/pastry was so crumbly, soft and really just divine..
Rahul P — Google review
The food here is amazing! This was our first pasty (being from Canada). And it was so much better than we could have imagined! Perfectly cooked, friendly atmosphere, and delicious!!

Had a Steak and Cheese and a Meatball pasty. Both were excellent but the Steak and Cheese was extra special and was packed full, can't wait to try more :)

Best veggie pastie in Cornwall , peppery & packed with same veg as traditional ones .. Tradition steak is good too according to the family !

Always running out of meat patties- 2 years ago. I've been told countless times this one is no where near as good as the other branches, but came again regardless. It was a hit day and they had fresh cream apple turnovers on the counter. I got my meat patty but it wasn't well made or cooked. It was practically raw. OH had a past and the pastry wasn't cooked well either.

Whether you visit their shop on Princes Street or opt for home delivery, you can enjoy these delectable pasties in small, medium, or giant sizes.
I met Steve (owner I think) with my dog in the beach car park and I discovered he had gluten free pastie! It’s so hard to find these. Steve told me they need to be pre-ordered if I wanted it hot, so I said I’ll be there at 9.30am. Steve did not disappoint! His gluten free pastry was yummy, it’s not easy to make a gluten free pastry that doesn’t either crumble to bits or be too pasty or hard but this one, although it’s not as nice as a wheat pastry it did hold up against one. There was lots of filling - I had a steak one - and was hot!! I really enjoyed it, it was. A great breakfast!!! Thanks Steve

We sourced pasties from Tasty Pasties for our wedding and they were absolutely brilliant. They got our order spot on, delivering a fantastic range of flavors exactly when we needed them – perfect for right after our ceremony. Every single pasty was delivered warm and was incredibly delicious. Our guests absolutely loved them, and we received so many compliments on what a great idea it was. If you're looking for tasty, convenient, and crowd-pleasing food for an event or if you just want a pasty while you're in or around Bude, we can't recommend Tasty Pasties enough! They truly helped make our day perfect.

Traditional pasty was nice, didn’t seem to be as much filling as some pasties I’ve had. Filling was slightly mushy small cut up pieces. Staff were friendly and helpful when I asked for it to be cut in half.

It's years since I have had a proper Cornish pasty, ive just had one from here, it invoked so many childhood memories, because this is how i remember them,. Plenty of tender meat, perfectly seasoned, soft pastry, what's not to love. Only £4.20, absolute bargain, I would highly recommend, if you love a good traditional pasty, and you are in Bude, this is the one. Staff friendly and chatty, shop clean and well presented.

Had a Gluten Free Afternoon Tea delivered to a friend & Pasty, Cream Tea Hamper to my Father in Law. Both reciptants were very impressed & extremely happy. Would certainly recommend. We love the traditional Steak Pastys so really pleased we can relive a bit of our holiday by having these delicious treats delivered.

I Called ahead and ordered my gluten free pasty, the staff were friendly and helpful and directed me to collect after 30 mins so they could cook it to order for me. They had a good selection of gluten free pasty options, I went for the traditional steak which was delicious! Definitely the tastiest GF pasty I’ve had! My family had regular pastry and said it was yummy. These guys certainly live up to their name.

Top quality pasty shop just off the Main Street. True authentic pasty source, definitely feels like the most honest joint. Solid Vegan pasties, other tasty bakery items including some unreal cookies. Went there every day we visited Bude, so at least five times over the course of the week. Friendly staff have the ovens baking the goods right in front of you. Great range of fillings.

Warrens Bakery is a well-established bakery chain that has been in operation since 1860, making it one of the oldest pasty makers globally. The bakery offers a variety of products including bread, savouries, scones, and their renowned Cornish pasties. With its award-winning pasties, breads, and cakes, Warrens Bakery has expanded across the UK. Customers appreciate the quality of their products and often return to purchase their favorite pastries to take home.
Warren’s Bakery on Quay Street in Truro is part of the well-known Cornish bakery chain that prides itself on offering traditional Cornish pasties and a variety of baked goods. This location is popular with both locals and visitors for its convenient central location and consistent quality. The bakery is particularly celebrated for its authentic Cornish pasties, which come in various fillings, including the classic steak, cheese and onion, creamy chicken and vegetarian options. The pasties are known for their flaky pastry and flavorful fillings, making them a must-try for anyone visiting Cornwall. Alongside pasties, Warren’s Bakery also offers a range of other baked goods, such as sausage rolls, sandwiches, cakes, and sweet pastries. I appreciated the friendly service and quick, convenient takeaway options, making it a great spot for a quick bite while exploring Truro. The prices are generally reasonable, offering good value for the quality of the products. However, the seating space is limited, which makes it more of a grab-and-go location rather than a sit-down cafe experience. It would also be nice if more credit card options were available for payment as most Tourists rely on credits cards like Amex and the likes to fund their holidays. Overall, Warren’s Bakery on Quay Street in Truro is highly regarded for its tasty traditional pasties and baked goods, making it a reliable choice for a quick, satisfying meal or snack while in the area.

Very expensive for average quality. I don't find the lady in the Quay Street shop very helpful, friendly or patient. I avoid unless I have no other alternative.

The Cornish Bakery, situated on Fore Street, offers a wide range of pasty flavors including classic options and unique variations like Thai Chicken, Sweet Potato & Feta, and Apple, Rhubarb & Custard. In addition to pasties, the bakery serves other delectable treats such as tortillas, scones, and pizzetta. Visitors can choose to dine in or take out.
Best pasties in the whole of Cornwall. It's all about the chorizo and mozzarella! The Cinnamon buns weren't on the same level but still good, slightly dry. Maybe I just got yesterday's batch or something. The ham hock bun is what I would try next!

Loved this place! Went multiple times whilst in St Ives. I’m putting it out there that it’s the best coffee in the town! Delicious, you can tell the guys really care about what they’re serving! Pastries are also insane. I had both a chocolate torsade and the cheese and bacon croissant and my goodness they were delicious. 😋 Loved the atmosphere and had great baby changing facilities too!

We had traditional pasties and a coffee menu. All the food was delicious, and the coffee was of high quality. The staff was very helpful and welcoming in the clean and pleasant café. This place is highly recommended.

Nice to find somewhere we could have a pasty but also sit down! Hubby had tried a croissant earlier in the day and said it was fab so we decided to sit and have lunch. Had the root vegetable pasty which was unusual but terrific! Also shared a slice of feta and pea tortilla which was yummy! Prices were high, especially charging for sauces was naughty as they didn't specify this when asking if we wanted any, but holiday prices expected and the unique flavours were worth it. Tap water available as self serve which was nice. Clean facilities.

The Cornish Bakery on Fore Street in Saint Ives is a real gem and one of those rare places that you want to return to again and again. During my recent visit, I was delighted to discover that they serve rhubarb pasties – a unique twist on the traditional Cornish classic and instantly my new favourite. The pastry was baked to golden perfection, with a light flaky texture, and the rhubarb filling struck a perfect balance between tartness and natural sweetness. It is a flavour that stands out and feels truly special, both nostalgic and refreshing at the same time. Alongside the pasty, I ordered a cappuccino, which was presented beautifully with a creamy pattern on top. The coffee itself was rich yet smooth, and paired wonderfully with the warm pasty. The attention to detail in both taste and presentation is something I really appreciated – it shows the pride and care the team puts into their work. The service was excellent throughout. The staff were welcoming, genuinely attentive, and created a relaxed atmosphere that made me feel very comfortable. Even though the bakery was busy, everything was handled with warmth and efficiency. It is always a pleasure to be greeted with a smile and to feel that your experience matters. The setting itself adds another layer to the visit. With its cosy charm and romantic ambiance, it is easy to sit back and take in the atmosphere while enjoying something delicious. Whether you come here for breakfast, a light lunch, or simply a coffee break, the Cornish Bakery provides a memorable experience. Overall, this bakery combines quality food, great coffee, attentive service, and a lovely setting. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Saint Ives.

Lovely pasties, I tried the Mozzarella, Chorizo and Sea Salt pasty (based on a recommendation in another review) and wasn't disappointed; the flavour was great, and a good amount of filling too. I also tried the Cornish cola too (which I'd never had or seen before) and liked it, although definitely an acquired taste, as others tried it, and some liked it and some didn't (compared the 'normal' cola).

Definitely the best Cornish Pasty I’ve tried 😋 if you eat beef 🥩 go for the traditional steak one! Their Cornish pasty is both crispy and moist 🤤 we took ours to eat by the beach 🏖️ best way to start the day ☀️ We also got a brownie to go, definitely one of the best brownie I’ve had 🍫 ! (They do have almond bits mixed in tho, if you don’t like almond, it probably isn’t for you…)

If you find yourself wandering the picturesque landscapes of Cornwall, make sure to stop by Ann's Pasties, a beloved local gem. Nestled in charming locations like Helston and The Lizard, this establishment has been crafting mouthwatering pasties using a time-honored family recipe that has stood the test of generations. Each handmade pasty is filled with generous chunks of meat and baked to perfection, ensuring every bite is packed with flavor.
Ann's Pasties, what can I say? I love you? 😁 You're at least one level over your competitors! The tastiest pastie I've ever had, by a long shot. Enjoyed it today on Poldhu Beach.

One of the best pasties we had! Although it was a bit hard to find the location as it looked like a factory of some kind. More signs (particularly on the door itself) would be appreciated! Cheese one was amazing. Definitely recommend!

For several years now, I have pursued what some may call a rather obsessive culinary quest: to identify, beyond doubt, the finest Cornish pasty in existence. This endeavour has taken me the length and breadth of Cornwall, and indeed much of the United Kingdom, sampling pasties from hundreds of bakeries. Along the way, I believed I had discovered the pinnacle of the craft in the offerings of Niles Bakery and Philps, both of which held an esteemed place at the summit of my rankings for some time. However, after seeing Anns pasties celebrated on television, I felt compelled to undertake the journey from London to Helston. What I experienced upon arrival was nothing short of revelatory. It is no exaggeration to say that Anns Bakery redefines what a Cornish pasty can and should be. We purchased a generous selection: steak, cheese and onion, and vegetable pasties, some ready to eat and others frozen to take home. The first impression struck before even taking a bite: these pasties are magnificent in size. Hearty, hand crafted, and generously filled to the very brim, they command attention. Unlike so many pasties elsewhere, which often leave one disappointed by meagre filling and heavy pastry, Anns pasties achieve a remarkable balance of abundance and finesse. The pastry itself is a masterpiece, light, delicate, and impossibly flaky, it all but melts upon contact with the tongue. It is a marvel of texture: crisp on the outside, tender within, and never cloying or heavy. Rather than overshadowing the contents, it acts as the perfect counterpoint, enhancing the flavours of the filling without intruding upon them. And the fillings themselves are sublime. The steak pasty, in particular, is a marvel of generosity. Packed with what can only be described as ampelous quantities of perfectly tender beef, it is unlike any other steak pasty I have ever encountered. Every bite revealed sumptuous, slow cooked richness, succulent chunks of meat, seasoned with a deft hand, and balanced by sweet onion and perfectly cooked potato. The flavour is bold yet refined, rich without being overwhelming, and lingers luxuriously long after the final bite. The cheese and onion variety was a deeply savoury delight, rich, creamy, and indulgent, while the vegetable pasty offered a harmonious blend of flavours that felt both wholesome and hearty. Perhaps most impressive was the consistency of quality across both fresh and frozen pasties. Two days later, the frozen pasties baked at home to golden perfection, filling the kitchen with a glorious aroma. To my amazement, they were every bit as delectable as those bought ready baked, if anything, even better for having been eaten piping hot, fresh from my own oven. This is a rare achievement, and testament to the skill and precision of Anns craft. I can state with absolute confidence that my long search has reached its conclusion. Niles and Philps, once my reference points for excellence, have been unseated by a significant margin. Anns pasties are not merely better, they are in a category of their own. Monumental in size, sublime in taste, and executed with impeccable skill, they represent the absolute pinnacle of Cornish baking. Anns Bakery should seriously consider offering a national delivery service. Were such a service available, I would be a lifelong and loyal customer, ensuring that my freezer was always stocked with these heavenly creations. In short: Anns pasties are a revelation. To describe them simply as the best pasties I have ever eaten feels almost inadequate, they are quite simply a triumph of the bakers art.

This weekend i first experienced Annes pasties at a festival! Scorrier house 90s.. I had several standard sausage rolls and a sage and apple sausage roll. I would say these are the best sausage rolls I have ever tasted and I am so pleased there is a delivery service. I will definitely be ordering and leaving a pasty review, which I am sure will be amazing also. Friendly service top food! 100% recommended 👌

Ann's pasties are easily the best pasties around, loads of filling and great taste. Not as much pepper as some others which I feel gives a better balance of taste.
Mr M — Google review
OMG these pasties are amazing!! Just been on holiday in cornwall and eaten a few different pasties from various places and this one hands down is the best. Was red hot fresh fresh from the oven. The fullest meatiest pasty going, with actual chunks of meat in there too, has some right weight to it! The shop is small and the girl working the till was rushed off her feet when I visited yesterday but she was very friendly and still had a smile in her face. Was so full after eating a medium sized one. You won’t regret getting a pasty from this place trust me! Going to order some frozen to be sent home to enjoy as they are that good. Thank you so much 😊
Casey R — Google review
Good pasty overall, with a nice exterior crust, however I felt it was let down by meat to veg ratio. We had two medium steak pasties with very small bits of actual steak in them. Located in a business park, it’s a no frills set up but it’s perfectly fit for purpose with contactless payment for an efficient call and collect system in place.

The bakery's strategic location on High Street allows customers to enjoy their pasties in the sanctuary of Trewyn Gardens or take them back to their holiday cottages.

Best Pasties in St Ives!!!! 🙌🙌🙌 The team serving us was very friendly and happy, which made us feel comfortable and at ease to ask questions, get advice and select the pastie best suited for our taste! The pastie is massive! The only meal you will need for the day!!! and this also makes the price point very very competitive against the other shops in St Ives! Go treat yourself, get a Pastie!

Got two large steak pasties, drinks and a saffron bun for a hair over £16. The pasties had a generous filling with big chunks of meat and they stayed warm for a long time. Less peppery than I'm used to but that's a subjective thing. The man who served us was very cheery and was singing while he bagged up our order. Very impressed by everything, would visit again.

The best Cornish Pasties ever. Succulent, juicy with a soft but flavoursome breading is definitely not to be missed. Great as gifts. Comes in many flavours and the large size traditional pasties is enough to share for 2. Good service from man in glasses.

The cornish pastie I had was massive and stuffed with filling but I think it was deffinetly lacking in flavour which is a shame. I had lamb and Mint. The pastry was nice and not to thick and the pastie was so big I couldn't finish it. Was nice but quite bland. Would give somewhere else a go next time or maybe a different pastie.

Had heard that this was the best place for a typical Cornish Pasty. We bought one traditional steak, one lamb & mint, one veg and one cheese onion. None of us could finish. No taste. The meat pieces were large and chewy. Would not recommend anyone.

Gear Farm Pasty Company is a charming independent farm shop owned by local David Webb and operated by his family. They take pride in offering top-quality produce, resulting in delectable pasties that are filled with high-grade meat and vegetables, complemented by perfect gravy. The ingredients used are grown and produced on the farm and its neighboring fields, ensuring freshness. Visitors rave about the amazing taste of the pasties and express their eagerness to return for more.
Having read a few good reviews about this place I decided it really was time that I made the effort to drive down there and test their pasties, just so I could do this review obviously... After driving for the best part of an hour through torrential rain and minor flooding we arrived at the Gear Farm Pasty shop. I was initially slightly underwhelmed as the car parking area has a somewhat industrial feeling which made the whole place feel rather uninspiring, the pasty shop is quite a small serve through the hatch type of place. However it was the food I had come to experience and I must say that it really did not disappoint! A really good, decent sized pasty and well worth the effort of getting here! The pastry alone was absolutely excellent, in my opinion a proper traditional style of pasty pastry - the flavour was amazing! It was robust enough to hold the pasty together well with a slight crunch yet not dry and tough. The filling was also very good, plenty of meat, perfectly cooked vegetables and a lovely juicy gravy made this one of the best pasties I have had in quite a while. I would recommend this place very highly and will be coming back again. I also tried their pork & apricot sausage roll and although it was one of the short but very fat variety it was exceptionally good! The staff here were very polite and helpful, i don't believe they have toilets here although I didn't ask. The car park is level and well serviced so although I saw no dedicated disabled parking bays accessibly is good.

The best Cornish pasty we've ever had. Our children had a cheese pasty & cheese & bacon turnover & they gave theirs 10/10. Would definitely visit again.
Emma B — Google review
OH MY! OH MY! OH MY DAYS!!!!!! I had to apologise to the team at Gear for mentioning another pasty company that I claimed to do the best pasty I've ever had. I have never been so wrong! In my 46 years of living on this planet, I have never had a pasty that tasted as good as the one I've just demolished. I've also never had a Bacon & Cheese turnover as good as I've just had. I pre ordered (advised). When we arrived they came straight out of the oven. I then spent 20+ minutes tucking in to a lava hot pasty with my bacon turnover for starters. The turnover was filled with a plentiful supply of bacon and the cheese was oozing out in good quantity. What a starter!!!!! 😋 But, the pasty, oh the pasty. Filled, absolutely loaded in fact, with veg grown on site and the chunks of steak were sensational and melt in the mouth. My son and I sat in our van munching away. In the 25 minutes we were sat at the road side there was a constant stream of traffic flowing in to pick up their Cornish delights. There must have been 20-30 cars rock up in that time. When it comes to food, and good food at that, I tell it how it is when reviewing. I challenge anyone, anywhere in the world to find a better tasting pasty than what Gear produces. I'm confident in stating that you'd be hard pressed to find a better one. Well, I'll be buying some ice blocks during our week away in Cornwall, and will be taking some of these Big Daddy Pasties back over the county lines to our shire of Devon. Update (9.5.24) Today we head home across the border back in to Devon. Couldn't leave without taking home 10 frozen pasties. PROPER JOB!!! 👍

I made my first pilgrimage to Gear Farm this year, and wow, it was worth the trip! I grabbed a pasty straight from the serving hatch, still warm, and it was absolutely fantastic. In my opinion, these are the king of pasties—super tasty, with amazing, buttery pastry and a perfectly seasoned filling. Gear Farm never disappoints, and I’d highly recommend them to anyone. Truly superb and deserving of five stars!

Incredible place run by the most wonderful people. Food is absolutely delicious with something to suit everyone - from fresh and vibrant to warming and indulgent. I'm not vegan but have always loved the food here. Highly recommend - you will be very well fed and looked after, plus the interior/garden is stunning. Perfect for a cosy hot choc or a summers evening under the stars.

What a wonderful little gem in Truro. A very nice selection for vegans, gluten free, and it is very well priced, should be more expensive than it is! The restaurant itself is very clean and has a lot of space as well. Its LGBTQ+ friendly, and even better that they accept dogs as well! I should also mention the staff that served us (7/12/2024) was super friendly and helpful. Thank you.

I couldn't rave about this place more! The food, the decor, the atmosphere, and the staff were all incredible. Not to mention very very reasonably priced considering it being in the heart of truro. I've been itching to try a meal here for years and finally made it to which it did not disappoint. We came at lunch time so there was a smaller menu than in the evening, but still with more than pleanty to tempt anyone. Both my partner and I were blown away not only with the taste of the food but also the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the quantity, even the crockery was lovely. Additionally, we were made to feel so incredibly welcome and looked after, the staff were an excellent testament to the cornish vegan. They were friendly, attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable, warm, and speedy though at no point did we feel rushed. I wish I could come regularly as I not only wanted to try everything on the menu, but would love to give the cornish vegan the patronage it deserves.

We had a wonderful meal here - it's a proper powerhouse for all things plant based so a real treat for vegans but at the same time, as it has such a wide range of dishes on the menu, it's also the perfect place to bring anybody who is just interested in trying some new flavours and ingredients. You'll find something to tempt you on the menu no matter who you are. Options span the range from a decadently delicious double stacked tower of vegan pastrami with smoked cheese, roasted red peppers, baby spinach and microgreens finished with sriracha mayo, to the Lunch Bowl bursting with colourful goodness and featuring sweet chilli tofu, lemon and dill marinaded carrots with homemade houmous alongside a range of epic vegetables and topped with a wasabi mayo dressing. The puds were seriously good too! The venue was relaxed and inviting, the team were super friendly and the food was 1st class. This one comes highly recommended as one of Cornwall's finest spots to indulge in original, delicious flavours and try some top notch plant based culinary magic first hand.

Great vegan restaurant that even the meat eaters enjoyed! One even said it was there favourite meal of our holiday! We are a group of 6 so booked ahead for a table and they were lovely on the phone to help accommodate us. Service was good and the food was great! As a vegan it was brilliant to have the choice of the entire menu! I went with the pasta of the day, which was mac and cheese and it was lovely. Two of the meat eater went for the chicken burger and loved it. Also another member who really enjoyed their had the mushroom fusion. Also a shout out for the gravy too. Everything was lovely, would recommend for all not just vegans.

Four different meals ordered, and all were absolutely delicious ! My wife is vegetarian so she just adored it, I’m a meat eater but it just doesn’t matter when food tastes as fantastic as this does ! Great service, price was surprisingly low, and even my trusty four- legged friend was brought a water bowl and a doggy biscuit on his own plate ! My daughter and her partner were extremely impressed and will return to the restaurant as they live locally. A big ‘thank you’ to all involved at The Cornish Vegan 👏🏼

As a non vegan - I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Who knew tofu could be so delicious. All the food was so filling too, we actually struggled to finish! The staff were so welcoming and lovely and it's a really cute place. Definitely recommend for a nice get together. The basket of feminine hygiene products in the bathroom was a really thoughtful little touch.

The Yellow Canary is a charming and stylish cafe located in St Ives, near the Castle Inn. It offers a variety of classic pasties, cakes, and pastries, including a delightful cream tea best enjoyed after a day of activities. The cafe prides itself on simplicity and quality produce, with a strong partnership with Origin Coffee of Helston. This family-run establishment welcomes dogs and provides a tranquil setting for enjoying morning coffee and treats before exploring the town or relaxing by the sea.
We bought a Chicken, Bacon and Cheese Pasty. It was unreal. We bought a Cinnamon Bun too which was fantastic, really tasty and crispy on the outside. The guy who served us was really friendly, and only took a few minutes to heat the pasty up. Cost us £9, which I guess isn’t cheap, but for the quality of the food it’s definitely worth it. Would recommend to anyone in St Ives and will go again.

Yummy! All the staff were soo nice. I had the sweet apple and blackberry pastie that was vegan 😋 and they gave us tap water as we didn't order any drinks. The sweet pastie was so so yummy!!! Would 100% recommend

A lovely little cafe in the heart of st Ives. We visited a few times as they did gluten free pasties. The food is good but I do feel the prices are a little on the high side, and it would be nice to see a sandwich option thats without pork or brie. The iced coffee is good and the staff are really friendly. There isn’t loads of seating available but when you do get a space it’s a nice atmosphere or you can take away. They also do gluten free scones!
Jess D — Google review
Lovely cafe for a nice breakfast. It was our last day before heading back and we haven’t had a cream tea so we went there for a cream tea and as it was our last meal we also ordered the scotch eggs and a sausage roll. We thought the cream tea was really good but a bit over price as it came without a tea. The scotch egg was a bit dry, however on the other hand, the sausage roll was really good and we had the best coffee from St Ives. A bit of mix feeling but we would definitely give them a go. We didn’t have the sandwich but they look good also.

We were looking for a Cream Tea in St Ives and this little cozy cafe didn’t disappoint us. The cream tea was absolutely delicious, my daughter just had the “best brownie ever” and I had a heavenly scrumptious Apple & Blackberry Pastie. I would come back one thousands times, nice staff, very clean and exquisite food variety

This is a lovely small café (literally 5 or so tables). The staff were very warm and welcoming, and the cream tea was the best I have ever had. I would recommend this place heartily, they deserve all the business they can get. (We went as a family of 4, but probably best suited to pairs.)

I cannot thank staff enough for all their help and support, when I became unwell just before eating their delicious food and needed an ambulance. Professional and very attentive on a very busy Bank Holiday Monday. Thank you once again!! I do plan to return sometime for a calmer dining experience.

Really disappointed! Worst gluten free pasty and scones we’ve ever had! And I don’t say this lightly! We were directed here by another bakery after asking for gluten free pasties and scones. We heard them directing every who asked here! Queued for ages for a table. Staff were rushed and busy. Not particularly helpful or interested. When we received our gluten free pasties and scones they came served heated within plastic wrap! They were highly processed and awful substitutes for the real things. Dry and chewy. Nowadays so many places make such amazing gluten free options there really is no excuse for such a sub standard offering. Don’t waste your time!! Really not worth the visit if you’re gluten free.

With its friendly atmosphere and commitment to quality, Pengenna Pasties stands out among the local dining scene.
Delicious traditional Cornish pasties! Pengenna Pasties is a must-visit if you're in the area. It’s a classic Cornish pasty shop with a great range – from traditional Cornish and steak to tasty options like ham and leek. The pasties are fresh, generously filled, and full of flavour. Perfect for a quick lunch or snack on the go. Friendly service too! A proper taste of Cornwall – highly recommended.

Nice pasties as usual from Pengenna. We ate them on the gardens just opposite. Steak was done perfectly, not overdone and charred like a lot of other places I've been. Enjoyed them so much, I bought a few to take back for family. Lady on the till was polite, we had a chat about the shop they used to have in St Ives.

We are currently on holiday in Devon and decided to drive down to Bude for the day , we stopped in this cafe as I was desperate for the toilet, obviously I was going to buy something but asked first if there was a customer toilet and the stare I got from the lady was like I had just asked her for free food or something !! I immediately said I was also going to be having tea ect and she advised me yes if I’m buying I can use the toilet in the most unfriendly manner I was so shocked by her attitude and aura she clearly isn’t a happy smiley person so working in hospitality is shocking ! I can see by the other reviews I’m no the first person to experience this rude behaviour! My worst experience in Cornwall or Devon and I’ve been coming for years ! It doesn’t cost anything to smile and be polite ! Especially with paying customers !

We popped in on walk through Tantagel. Lovely staff, nice place to eat. Atmosphere was nice, it was quiet when we visited as it was later in the afternoon. Could be extremely busy during summer months. Dogs were allowed in. This was fortunate as we had walked the coastal path from Boscastle.

So rude to my husband who was ordering we had 2 lamb and mint pasties and 2 sausage rolls. The pasties were bland the meat was dripping blood. So many better options available avoid this place at all costs

This is the best pasty place! The pasties are huge and packed with meat. Good variety. Seem more expensive than other shops but not when you see the size!

While I was heading home, looking for a quick stopover, happen to sight this shop. Offering extra large portions of pasties! Additionally, they offer bakeries and sweets. Located at the town centre. Parking is difficult, though best location to grab snacks or for a stopover.

Visited the St Mawes Bakery and inquired about the possibility of obtaining miniature Cornish pastries for an evening wedding event. Engaged with Oliver, a friendly individual who willingly provided assistance. As anticipated from the esteemed St Mawes Bakery, they did not disappoint; every single miniature pastry was consumed by the end of the night! Timely delivery ensured that these delectable treats were hot and absolutely scrumptious. The recommendation for this establishment cannot be overstated.
We ordered four pasties here (£5 each) and they were a great size, well filled, and had a fantastic amount of steak inside! Finally a pasty with the perfect proportions, and nice and moist too. My only slight gripe is that mine lacked salt and pepper a little but they were still great pasties 👌 We also tried the almond croissants which were absolutely incredible. Probably the best almond croissant I've ever had, with so much marzipan on the top, and thick with frangipane in the middle. 10/10.
Rory P — Google review
Ordered a medium steak pasty- it was amazing! Just what I needed on my lunch break. Loads of steak filling, and the pastry was moist and not flaky at all (best kind). Only slight grumble was how small the cappuccino was for £2.15, but if the pasty is anything to go by— the food is well worth it!

Really lovely pasty , with plenty of lean tasty steak and not packed with too much potato like many others. Very good quality food, friendly staff. V happy, will return.

We have had wonderful bread, saffron buns, pasties over past 26 years we have stayed in St Mawes. This year we decided to do a Pasty Workshop. Can highly recommend! The bakery is just a short stroll from the shop. Jane and Pat led us in making the pastry and the technique used for an authentic pasty. 3 out of the 4 were veggie and I ndian and Jane went out of her way to obtain spices she thought would appeal. Whilst waiting for our pasty to bake we were treated to coffee and cake on the Quay before heading back to the bakery to see the finished result. Brilliant 👏 A great deal of pride ensued! Such a fun afternoon. Thanks to Jane and Patrick X

Stumbled upon this fantastic bakery today on the queyside at St Mawes. Currently on holiday in Cornwall and thoughts we'd sample a few pasties. The one today goes straight to the top of our charts, couldn't fault it at all. Loads of meat, and the pastry was also spot on. Freshly made a couple of minutes up the road and only available at St Mawes. We will struggle to find better during the remainder of our holiday.

Sky's Diner is a popular cafe located on one of the busiest streets in St. Ives. The indoor seating is limited, accommodating around 30 people, so there might be a wait during peak times. However, they offer takeaway options from the window for those in a hurry. The diner is known for its vegetarian and vegan-friendly menu, offering a variety of options including pastries and bakery goods.
Called in after wandering around St Ives. We were greeted straight away and advised to sit where we wanted, we chose the table in front of the window, with a glimpse of the harbour. It's a cosy cafe. Our order was taken quickly. I ordered a cream tea and was given a choice of drinks. My husband got a breakfast sandwich and hot chocolate. The drinks and food were good and comparitively priced in the area. After we'd finished we went up to the counter to pay.

Great location but very expensive. A full English and a coffee was around £20 We were meeting friends here as we were recommended by a friend to try the breakfast. We didn't have to wait long and managed to get a table for 9 people. We didn't have any service on our phones to message the rest of the group and there is no WiFi . The breakfast tomatoes were a bit raw. Could have been grilled / roasted for longer and they missed bacon off of my breakfast. I did let them know and had to wait for around 5 minutes for one. The coffee was nice but warm. So it was drink very fast. Considering we were a group, we had all our drinks and food around the same time so that was a good thing. Glad we went but we cooked breakfast at our air bnb after that price.
Julie — Google review
The cafe had a cozy and warm ambiance, with lighting that gave off a quiet and gentle glow. It was April 2025 at around 12 noon when we first discovered this place. Luckily, there weren’t that many people at first so we were able to enjoy a bit of our lunch in relative peace. However, as more came it was evident that there wasn't enough room to move around comfortably, and it did become quite loud. The food itself was flavourful, though slightly richer than expected. The coffee was also a quite disappointing. It would also have been amazing if there were more options available. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. There was only one bathroom which does make sense because of the limited space, but I did have to wait a little before being able to use the bathroom.
Thea C — Google review
The diner window is tempting enough to queue here to get a table so planned a visit on a weekday off peak hour to have cream tea. They do all kinds of Cornish bakery goods along with a good menu for all day food. We had the cream tea which had a big scone with clotted cream and jam with a pot of tea. The scone was a bit dry for my liking but went down a treat with the jam and cream. They had interesting options for tea and both the peppermint and the lemongrass/ginger ones were great for the late afternoon. Service and staff were friendly and good all around.

Right inside the town convenient location Typical cottage though it’s bit small it is very cozy and nice interior design The scones served warm same as the sausage roll which all are tasty Could tell the clotted cream is home made 👍🏻 The ladies staff are super sweet and effective in helping

Had the best pastrami sandwich and my sister had prawn and Marie rose sauce. Delicious. I always have crab but decided to have a change. Bit on the expensive side but we are in st Ives in the summer. Have you ever picked the white meat out of a crab . No wonder it's expensive. Service great. It's not fine dining. What do you expect. Will be back again. Keep up the good work 😍

A sweet little cafe tucked in nextvto the Ship Inn (no affiliation though). It seems to be popular with the locals. Not a lot of seating, we were lucky to go on a sunny day and sit outside. The toilet was basic, up some stairs outside. The food looked amazing, and I really enjoyed my hot chocolate. I found the food too rich - I ordered a Viennese whirl and I'm pretty sure it was filled with butter. As the shortbread was also very buttery, I just couldn't eat it. My daughter struggled with the very rich brownie too, but they kindly gave us a takeaway bag so she could finish it later!

Waited there about 2 minutes to buy sweets while the lovely lady was handling some family. When I wanted to pay she said there is no need to pay just for waiting that. Read other reviews saying this is the preferred cornish pasty place for locals, who one would imagine know their pasties. I disagree. My medium pasty today was dry and too salty also pretty much flavourless. The assistant was a bit surly as if tourists were a nuisance
Geoff C — Google review
I've been buying pasties at Ferrell's since 1945. In that time they have remained unchanged, as any perfect food should. The same family has stuck to the matchless pasty formula that has sold consistently from the beginning. The taste is out of this world, and I guarantee anyone trying a Ferrell's for the first time WILL return for more. But don't take my word for it.....next time you're in St Ives, buy one; you'll never look at another pasty!
Firebrand55 — Google review
I know this place have good reviews and probably this is once in a time thing but I bought a keish and I found a maggot on it. Tried to go and complain but was already closed on Saturday, tried again on Sunday but closed all day. Anyway I saw thorough the windows and could see some flies and even wasps, so that explains a lot. I literally vomit in the toilet as soon as I saw the maggot and had already eaten most of the keish. Wouldn't recommend to buy here if the owners don't take more care.

The food at this cafe is absolutely delicious, but be warned - the flatbreads are HUGE! It could honestly be half the size and still fill you up. I can eat like a horse and struggled to finish the pulled pork flatbread and chips. Great value though, especially as you could easily get 3 meals between 4 people and not be left hungry. This place is just wonderful!! The coffee is hot and strong, the pastries and delicious, soft and well cooked. The staff seems happy and friendly and willing to help. All really good. They do eat in or take away and if you go at the end of the day, they sell things off cheap! Really great, thank you so much

Great first experience of Cornish Bakery! The selection of baked goods was so good we stood for ages trying to decide what to have! Great staff, and quick service - we will return soon to try more of the menu!

After a number of very nice visits to the Newquay branch I thought I'd be equally as happy in Truro. How wrong I was. The staff were miserable and clearly didn't want to be there or deal with the public. In Newquay your order is taken and then brought over to your table but in Truro everyone is trying to squeeze into a small area to collect their drinks while trying to balance a tray with the food on it. Thankfully the food was quite nice but we'll not be using this branch again as it didn't make up for all the other short comings.

It's a lovely café, with a good selection of baked goods and savoury snacks. It gets quite busy. The staff were friendly. The sausage roll was tasty. The toilet is at the back of the café, and it was clean. The café is in a central location. I would recommend this place.

Philps of Praze an Beeble is a charming bakery located in a peaceful area. Visitors praise the friendly service and delicious pasties, particularly highlighting the quality of the pastry. The prices are considered fair for the generous portion sizes. Additionally, there is a small green area with benches across from the bakery where customers can enjoy their food. Many recommend stopping by this hidden gem to savor their delectable pasties and sausage rolls, emphasizing that it's worth a visit when passing through.
This will always be a bone of contention, having said that to me these are the best pasties in Cornwall, a little bit more seasoning than most in the cheese and veg which makes the difference.....

Lovely small bakery in a quiet location. The ladt that served us was friendly and polite. There were a few vegetarian options The pasties were gorgeous, among the best I have had, the pastry in particular was very good. The price is very good, fair and the pasties are large so you get your monies worth. There is also small green with benches opposite to eat Fully recommend a visit as we did passing through

Nestled on Alverton Street, Lavenders Deli Bakery is a charming family-run establishment that has been delighting locals and visitors since 1976. If you find yourself in Penzance, make sure to stop by just after noon for a freshly baked Cornish pasty—just be prepared to act fast! The deli also offers an array of local cheeses and meats perfect for taking home.
Must try the Honey Cake there… One of the tastiest cakes I’ve had. Light, fluffy, moist, an absolute must, even if you don’t like sweets like me

Went here because the pasties have a good reputation. Unfortunately they were the last ones available and were only lukewarm. Nice enough though, but probably better hot

Wonderful deli and excellent tea room/Cafe, place for brunch, lunch or tea. They're one of the few places in Penzance /West Cornwall that serves fresh leaf tea! Their toasted sandwiches are sublime! WITH REGRET, LAVENDERS CAFE/RESTAURANT IS NO LONGER OPERATING. HOWEVER, THE DELI IS OPEN AS USUAL.

If you're a fan of delicious pasties, then Helluva Pasties Ltd is a must-visit! This gem has transformed the traditional cheese and onion pasty with its unique twist—using red onions to elevate the flavor profile. As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised by how these pasties broke the monotony of standard options. My partner raves about their large steak pasties, especially with that extra pepper kick!
Fantastic service in a clean and welcoming environment. Brought as requested by my son in law as he loves the Helluva Pasties , he was a happy man , sadly I didn't get to taste it .
Debs S — Google review
Cannot comment on service and atmosphere as purchased in a local Premier store. Having tasted PROPER JOB pasties in CALLINGTON and of course GINSTER'S in CALLINGTON, very disappointed in the HELLUVA pasty I bought. It was frozen so obviously that's a bonus as you have them alrways on hand, but despite following the instructions the base was very soggy and I found the meat and vegetables tough. It was expensive too so shall NOT be purchasing any more HELLUVA pasties.
Katherine K — Google review
Great pasties. Very rich and creamy pastry! My mum and dad had a special one commissioned for my birthday. It was a great alternative to a birthday cake!
StreetZips — Google review
Both me and my partner are massive fans of Helluva pasties! Got to be the best cheese and onion pasties I have ever tasted! There made with red onion! Really enhances the flavour! Being a vegetarian I'm so used to the boring bog standard Cheese and Onion pasties and I really started going off of them.... Helluva pasties have completely changed that and I cant get enough of them! Very impressed! My partner speaks very highly of the large steak pasties with the extra pepper! Smiles all round when I bring him one home for tea! All in all very happy with the pasties and always topped off with the brilliant customer service you receive when buying your pasties! Would recommend to anyone!

I was recently at the wedding of John and Jess at Tipi weddings in Cornwall and Helluva pasties were being delivered in the evening to help fuel the dancing. I am vegan so wasn’t sure if there would be one for me but there was and it was really delicious. The pastry was excellent and my veggie and meat eating friends all said theirs were a ‘proper job’ too. Excellent work. 🙏🏻

We spent a week on holiday and googled for the best cornish pasties in the area, followed the sign to the shop and bought two for our return home breakfast! Oh and £60.00 of frozen for the freezer, really helpful lady served us, and we got home to Norfolk without them defrosting!! There are only two downsides, one is the distance we have to go for more.... Ohh!! Don't tell the missus!! But you can order on line 🙊 The other is .... I'm rationed to one a week!!! 😏😪 But seriously, I recommend this place to anyone who is in need of a good 'Cornish' pastie 👌😋

Best pasties in Cornwall, in my humble opinion. The busyness of this place proves it. Rarely without a queue, well stocked with pasty’s, sausage rolls, pies, slices, salad, cakes and sandwiches to takeaway and nice sit in menu with a good atmosphere. On street and on premise parking, but can be packed
Russell C — Google review
Very good fast service. Food is very good well worth a stop in if your close, stake pasty my favourite.

This is a really nice pasty shop. I have family members that always ask for pasty’s from this place so I drive 30minutes to this place to get them. The Traditional Cornish pasty was excellent, the steak was tender and it was full of the juices and vegetables. It is sometimes hard to get one from here after 1pm but if you do get lucky, they are great.
Jay — Google review
When ever we go to Cornwall I always visit the hot pasties are to die for. If you got a few spare minutes stay in the cafe and have a cuppa with your food. It can get quite busy but they are professional about it and clear the back log quickly. Well worth a visit for the pastie connoisseur. A little secret you can stock up as they freeze quite well not that I'd be that greedy

Malcolm Barnecutt Bakery Pool is a beloved establishment that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since its inception in 1930 by Percy, Malcolm's grandfather. With a growing number of shops across Cornwall, this bakery is renowned for its mouthwatering pasties that taste almost homemade. But the offerings don’t stop there; you can also find an impressive selection of breads, sandwiches, salads, cakes, and buns to satisfy any craving.
Absolutely the best, tastiest Pasty I've had. Sun just before 12. Place was busy. I went for their Medium Steak Pasty. Served HOT. Crust was crumbly and flaky where it should be. Sure they glaze em with Beef dripping 🤔. It was filled to the rafters with both meat and veg. All piping hot and well seasoned. £3.85 to take away. Well worth the money. Staff friendly and helpful. Place was clean and there is a single customer toilet. Would love to go back to try their bakes and sandwiches, if i lived nearby. A credit to the Cornish Pasty industry.

Cold pasties again. If it's busy, you will wait a long time as service is very slow. When you do get you're pasty or other bakery product, it's probably cold. Car park is way to small as well. It's the worst bakery in the area.

Great sarnies and pastys but had to wait ages for the sandwich they forgot us and when it did arrive it had marge on it when we asked for no marge .But I couldn't go back as we were going to be late for an appointment. Great food poor service!
John C — Google review
Have they changed the pastry on their pasties? Always use Barnecutts but went today and pastry hard. Seems to have been short crust pastry which is not a proper Cornish pasty.
Edwin H — Google review
I've heard a lot of nice comments about the Pasties so I came with high expectations but sadly my pasty was COLD. Ordered medium steak and cappuccino. Came just before 10am and pasty wasn't even warm, it was COLD! Will come back to give another chance. Cappuccino was good. Sweet treats look nice too.
Wulan N — Google review
So clean here. As ever selling the best Cornish pasties with delicious iced and sugared proper Chelsea Buns. Thanks 😘
Anna B — Google review
Pasties with a lot of potential if they were actually served hot, there is absolutely no excuse for serving cold pasties at full price, at any time of the day. If you go to Brays, Ethringtons, Philps, they all keep them in the warming ovens on purchase, as I’m sure many others do, but MB seems to be the exception. Service was really great, but this needs to change as a few others have commented the same, at the very least you should be offering them at a discounted price if they are stone cold.

Mary's Pastys, nestled by the harbor, is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic Cornish pasty or delightful home-cooked specials. This charming spot offers a variety of fresh options that cater to all tastes. Seafood enthusiasts can enjoy The Harbour Catch with its outdoor seating and stunning water views, while The Sharksfin serves up hearty chowder and locally-sourced mussels.
Had the most delicious cream tea I’ve had for a very long time. A lovely soft, fresh scone, plenty of delicious jam and clotted cream, with a pot of tea that hit the spot! The ladies were friendly and the service was excellent. I was lucky enough to get a table with a wonderful view of the harbour. Definitely recommend for eating in or bakery goods to take away.

Best place in Mevagissey to get a pasty - you get plenty of filling within the pasty itself, and it’s such good quality. I have coeliac disease, so was great to find a place that also cook gluten free pasties. You have to give them at least 90 minutes notice, but we ordered them the previous day and gave a time to pick them up and they had come fresh out the oven for the time we picked. Definitely the best gluten free pasty I’ve ever had. They did also have gluten free scones, but unfortunately they had none the day we visited.

Had a vegan pasty and it was like a real Cornish pasty, peppery and lovely. Much better than the Moroccan ones they pedal at most places. Would defo recommend if you’re looking for authentic taste

Admittedly I've not had a great many cornish pasties. And I'm not quite massive fan of pastry in general. But after my wife dragged me through many a shop in the village whilst holding a bag with two massive pasties, I was salivating. The smell just made me want to sit down and eat them there and then. But no..... I had to be patient. And boy was my patience rewarded! This is without a doubt the best pastie I've ever eaten. And not just cornish ones. I highly recommend this place to anyone with even a passing interest tasty hearty food. 10/10 would eat the whole shop if I could.

Had a really tasty pasty from here. Nice and chunky inside with big pieces of beef. Slices of cake were also massive! One slice easily big enough for two with a cup of tea ☕

Been on holiday in Cornwall all week, had a pasty most days and this was the best by far. Packed full with meat and delicious flavour. Would definitely recommend 😋
Lucy P — Google review
It's the worst place that both of us can remember. The small cornish pasty was OK; the steak pie was cold. Our latte's were cold. The service was terrible, and a young man behind the food counter was constantly touching his face and hair with his gloved hands and then directly touching the food. Service was slow and unintentive. The toilet was dirty and did not have any hand towels. We will not be returning.

Rowe's Bakers Truro Piazza is a delightful gem in the heart of Cornwall, established by Bill Rowe in 1949. With a legacy that includes two World Pasty Championships, this beloved bakery has expanded to over 20 locations and even offers its products in local supermarkets. Known for their traditional steak pasty, they also provide delicious chicken and veggie options, ensuring there's something for everyone.
I look forward to coming to Rowe's each time I visit Cornwall. Their pasties are delicious: thin pastry, flaky crust, flavorful and plentiful filling regardless of the type or size. They're worth the price. I can't wait to return. Until then, I'll be dreaming of Rowe's.

After failing at two other places in the town to get a spot of lunch we happened upon this bakers. Ladies behind the counter were busy but lovely. Our party of four had pasties and sausage rolls, hot and cold drinks until we were all full. It had just started to rain quite heavily and the place was packed. Seating inside is good but as the restaurant was so busy, the floor hadn’t been swept in a while and had a lot of pastry crumbs and bits of rubbish on it. Food was excellent and we bought a box of 6 ‘bake at home’ Cornish pasties to take as a present for my sister, whom we are visiting in Hampshire tomorrow.

I have been visiting Cornwall and eating W.C Rowes Traditional Cornish pasties for 30 years now; I have tried almost every other pasty shop, some of which no longer exist and though good, I always defer back to this place. Pro Tip: Get the large traditional and ask for one straight out of the oven, it’s full of steak and is absolutely perfect.

Bought a standard Cornish pasty to eat on the train. It was nice, delicious even when cold. The staff was very welcoming.

We had two very disappointing traditional pasties from Rowe’s in Truro recently. There was hardly any meat in either of them, so our dog didn’t get his usual treat - so two pasties managed to disappoint three of us! The pastry and veg were tasty, but there should be meat as well, not just a couple of minuscule bits of what looked like mince...

Prima Bakeries, a beloved establishment in Cornwall since 1978, offers an array of traditional Cornish delights such as saffron cakes, hevva buns, cream teas, and the iconic Cornish pasty. In addition to their savory treats like steak and vegetable pasties, they also provide gluten-free options. Customers can even have their pasties delivered through the Cornish Hamper Store. Visitors praise the bakery for its flavorful ingredients and perfect pastry.
If you’re in Redruth and in need of a Pasty (or other baked good) I strongly recommend Prima Bakeries. The staff were extremely friendly and the shop felt friendly and welcoming. There’s treats lining all the walls for you to browse while you wait in queue for your turn (always a good sign) even though we waited no time at all. The Large traditional Pasty I had was the best I’ve had in a long time, I really didn’t want to finish it as each bite was better the last. I’ve even been looking into their Frozen Pasty Delivery Service so I can experience their lovely baked food again! I can’t think of any real cons for Prima, although I would say the large Pasty was perfect for my lunch so consider whether you’d want a normal size or large before you order. Prima definitely earns my strongest recommendation.

I’ve never been a fan of Cornish pasty’s (travesty I know!) and today I had the delight of a special flavour pasty - salt’n’pepper chicken pasty . I have been converted ! My dislike of pasty’s came from the sheer amount of pastry compared to filling but this was on another level flavour and filling ratio . They allowed us and our dog into the premises and take a seat . Only thing lacking is that there’s only one table meaning it’s a little low on the atmosphere :( Apologies not the best photo I est this up far too fast !

We had to have a Cornish pasty while we were in Cornwall. There were many great shops selling mini tasty pasties, however I'm really glad that we ended up going to Warren's. The cases were filled with beautiful and a wide variety of pasties and other wonderful treats. We were quickly helped and headed out and to the street to eat are delicately flaky and warm pasties. They were delicious and everything we could have hoped for and the cool drizzly day by the sea.

The bakery's roots trace back to 1930 when Percy Barnecutt opened the first bakery in Liskeard. Today, the tradition continues with Malcolm and his son James at the helm. Absolutely love this shop, we've just returned home to the Midlands from our holiday in the area. We wish we had this shop in our area, the products they sell here are Absolutely divine and so moreish, even the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast Malcolm Barnecutt's Bakeries Ltd . If you have ever visited Cornwall you have more than likely come across one of their outlets. It's a family run bakery with just over a dozen shops. We took our doggies to their largest shop, located Estuary Retail Park. Which was opened in July last year. It was a beautiful morning so we were able to sit on their very large terrace. We ordered a couple of small breakfast's £9 each plus coffees. The food was well cooked and good value. Inside, the amount of choice of pastries and baked goods is very impressive. The staff were great and made sure our doggies had plenty of water.

By far the best pasties we had when in Cornwall. Freshly baked and packed with meat and vegetables. Had a Chelsea bun and coffee for breakfast prior leaving for our trip home - soft and delicious- would definitely recommend - a real find.

Wow, what a place! I visited for the first time today, and although this store has only been open for two days, I'm going to be a regular when passing! Beautiful Bakery, with plenty of choice...sweet, savoury, and all very well priced, with takeaway and eat in options. The seating is well laid out, and the staff were extremely helpful! Loads of parking too! Well done Team Barnecutts!

Really impressed with this cafe/bakery. High quality old fashioned service, so refreshing. Spotlessly clean, despite the high turnover. Cheap and very cheerful food, good variety of cakes, quality pasties, sausages rolls, breakfast baps

Stopped in for a pasty on the way home from our holiday - lots of parking, reasonably priced, clean, modern and the food is absolutely delicious for a basic bakery. I wish we’d discovered Malcolm’s earlier!

Really busy, but managed to find seats indoors as it was raining. Lots of outdoor seating if weather is good. Excellent service at a reasonable price, and the food was very good

Service was decent, the food came quickly but was disappointing. The chips were soggy and looked like they'd been reheated in the microwave. Coffee was okay and the breakfast roll also had elements that seemed old and reheated to order. Overall, wouldn't visit again.

The Slipway is a charming bakery located on the harbor in St Ives, offering a delightful variety of cakes, baked goods, and traditional Cornish Pasties. It's an ideal spot for grabbing takeout with its picturesque waterfront setting. The menu features an array of pasties, sandwiches, and healthy options, along with a decent selection of drinks. Visitors can enjoy freshly prepared food and drink while taking in the scenic views nearby.
This small coffee shop in St Ives is a perfect little spot right on the seafront, ideal for grabbing a quick coffee to go while soaking in the stunning views. They have a great selection of pastries and cakes, making it hard to choose! I went with the cornflake cake, which was sweet and satisfying, and the chorizo sausage roll, which had a lovely savory kick. Everything is fresh and flavorful, and the location can't be beat—whether you're on the go or just enjoying the coastal atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Now it's just a grab and go spot. Lovely views of the harbour of course. That crab sandwich was delicious ouf. They had an incredible menu and so many lovely Cornish pastries that I wish I could have tried! Absolutely brilliant.

A lovely take out spot right on the harbour - exactly what you’d expect from a place like this to be honest and that’s a great thing, it does the job well and exceeded my expectations! The pasties and sandwiches are a good option for a cheap and quick lunch, but they do have a great selection of specials and healthy alternatives too, something rare in St Ives! The drinks are decent with a good selection once again, and the queues are never outrageous given good service. I had the crab sarnie on ciabatta following special request and it was great, can’t fault it! Overall lovely experience and will most likely be back when I fancy a quick nibble as I stroll through town!

The best part of my daily routine is my morning coffee from here, the girls are always friendly and efficient. A must have is either the bacon sandwich or the porridge, but if I want a snack either the fruit flapjack or shortbread is a must. It's constantly busy but the girls never seem flustered and I am always welcomed warmly!!

I've just read through the other reviews on here and am shocked by the negative ones - the food and service was wonderful today. We ordered a crab sandwich and 5 cornish pastys to take away. Both delicious! The staff were amazing - I had questions on reheating the pastys at home and the girls took the time to explain, they were very friendly and helpful! Thank you girls! Would return on my next visit to St Ives!

Such rude workers! Came with my parents today, as it looks lovely on the outside! However, the worker with red dyed hair was terribly rude to my poor dad! Snark comments and eye rolls galore. The food was meagre at best, can definitely get better elsewhere. Avoid if you value customer service and politeness!

food was lovely couldn’t fault it, service from the young girls serving on saturday easter weekend was shocking, rude when ordering, then when our food was ready it was just slammed on the counter and she walked off - wasn’t sure if it was ours? shame because we would’ve liked to visit again next time in st ives but poor customer service

Loveliest mince pie I've had for ages, looked homemade and tasted divine. The hot chocolate was nice too, rich and creamy. Staff were friendly.

Proper Cornish has been a staple in Cornwall since 1988, offering a variety of savory treats like pasties, sausage rolls, slices, and turnovers. Their menu features traditional options such as steak and cheese and onion, as well as unique fillings like steak and Betty Stogs, pork and apple, and Middle Eastern lamb. For those with dietary preferences, they also have vegan options including pasties, rolls, slices filled with Mexican bean or vegan bacon and cheese.
I have been using proper Cornish for years and are always good quality and good value we also buy direct from the factory for our friends upcountry when we go visiting, had 2 box's today Paul Tess were on our way

Not like a pasty that I've eaten in Cornwall. Lacked filling. Layered steak and onions sounds lovely but two pieces of meat and a few onions isn't. I wouldn't recommend them stuck with 10. Maybe a bad batch.

Spotted an advert claiming Proper pasties to be the best....very, very disappointing. Pastry case floury and undersalted and the filling was pretty tasteless especially the meat...not sure what animal it came from..had been cooked in a manner to extract all flavour. Never, ever again. I think of myself as a bit of an expert on pasties as my grandmother brought me up on them and retired on the proceeds of people travelling miles to buy them!
David R — Google review
Sorry didn't like the Cornish pastie here at all. It was dry and tasted really bland. Staff were friendly but I wouldn't go again as the pasties was very average.

Went to their main office today and bought 8 boxes of their misshapes ...understandably you get pot luck and are give a very varied list of items you may receive ..when home we opened boxes and out of 8 boxes we got 6 vegetable oneswhich were no good to us at all as were buying fir my grandchildren ...very disappointed and wont use again

Great place to buy Proper Cornish Pasties to take home! Also picked up a bargain with a £7.50 box of 20 misshapes (could be anything they make!)!

The Cornish Oven in Truro is a modern and clean shop with a well-thought-out layout and seating. The staff are welcoming, happy, helpful, and friendly. Customers are spoiled for choice with the delicious pasties and sausage rolls on offer. The crimped pasties are a must-try, ensuring all the ingredients are sealed inside. Visitors have praised the flaky steaks and other options like chicken or vegan pasties as some of the best they've ever had.
Hands down the best Cornish pasty I have ever had (and I've eaten my fair share...) tremendously tasty and very generous meat filling. I'd struggle not to eat one per day if I was local!
Stevie_g — Google review
Visited today Tuesday 24th September at lunch time, purchased a flaky steak pasty. I took a bite outside as i left and the pasty was cold. I would expect the pasty to be hot or at a minimum warm. Obviously cooked some time ago and not kept warm. However the pasty tasted nice just a shame they didn't take a little more effort to keep the pasties warm when they are not busy.

Delicious pasties and great value for money. We visited here as a group of 6, and after our week in Cornwall all agreed these where the best pasties we had all week. A good size, packed full of ingredients and simply delicious. The flaky pastry options where welcome too, and recommended. We had both traditional and cheese & onion.

Bought two flaky steaks after hearing good things about them....... They did not disappoint, cannot remember the last time me and the wife had something so close to mother's pasty. The young girl who served me was friendly and so polite. Will definitely make this my new home for pasties - keep it up guys 👍

A nice new welcomed addition to buy a proper Cornish pasty! The smell got us as we were walking through the pannier market back to the car. So we decided to stop and feed the family lunch. What a fresh, modern, clean new shop. Very well thought about lay out with seating to. We found the staff were welcoming, happy, helpful and friendly and very patient. It took us a while to decide as we were spoilt for choice! We purchased flaky steak pastys, sausage rolls, a chicken mayo salad pasta bowl and a filled baguette of course we couldn't resist the choice of deserts. Everything we had was really tasty and absolutely delicious.Thank you Cornish oven Truro we we will be back.

Excellent traditionally made pasties at great prices. I don't go anywhere else when I'm visiting Truro. Highly recommended.

I went into the Cornish oven with my friends on a Friday after college, we were greeted by a lovely lady named Sara she was so welcoming and kind and treaded us very respectfully. We will definitely be going back and we recommend you go aswell.
