Market
Grocery store
Reading Terminal Market is a renowned indoor farmer's market that has been serving a diverse range of food, housewares, and local specialties since 1893. It offers an array of dining options including Townsend Wentz's Oloroso and Jose Garces' Amada.
Reading Terminal Market is a foodie paradise, and my visit was a perfect example of why. The variety here is unmatched—you can walk a few steps and go from authentic international dishes to Philly classics. We started with some hearty Indian food: a rich spinach and stew dish paired with flavorful rice. The rice was perfectly seasoned, and the stew had layers of spice. Of course, no trip to Philly is complete without a cheesesteak, so we grabbed one from uncle Gus restaurant. The bread was fresh with that perfect crunch from the sesame seeds, the onions were caramelized just right, and the meat and cheese were melt-in-your-mouth good. It really hit the spot. What I love about Reading Terminal Market is that you can try completely different cuisines in one visit. In just one meal, we went from Indian flavors to an iconic Philly classic, and everything tasted authentic and delicious. Yes, it’s busy, but that’s the fun of it—it feels alive, full of people and energy. The food quality makes it more than worth it. Whether you’re a local or visiting Philly, you won’t leave hungry, and you’ll probably already be planning what you want to try next time.

This a very unique place! It’s a must see and the perfect spot for lunch. There’s many different food options here, all of a wide variety! From raw oysters to soul food to sushi to Indian. There are a few dessert places as well. The meat market and fish market have lots of things to choose from if you plan on grabbing and preparing at home! We visited on a Saturday and it was overwhelmingly packed with people, however it is open 7 days a week, so I suggest visiting on a weekday.
Lauren M — Google review
Incredible space with multiple vendors, shops, and restaurants! Can’t recommend this market enough - we’ve literally told everyone about it. We are so glad we stopped in at the recommendation of our Lyft driver and we were so impressed. Coffee, Chocolate Pastries, multicultural cuisine options, and at least one or two bar / restaurants spaces. Not only was it an amazing adventure just walking the aisles, but everything was clean and the service at all the stalls was incredible. People were polite and it was easy to navigate the space! Highly recommend stopping Reading Terminal if you’re in the area!

Great place for foodies. It's right I'm the Down town area close to china town, fashion Street, convention center. One you are in you can explore local endless local gourmet. There are home decor and lifestyle goods as well but it's literally nothing compared to food and beverage. Groceries is also available to buy in the marketplace. Recommend to visit during lunch or when you are hungry. Bus access is most convenient. Street parking is not free and they have in building parking as well. Very crowded with tourists so if you are in a rush, it's better choose another day.
Nan L — Google review
We went on a Sunday at noon. I have to say it was busy but was still easy to get around with a toddler. We went to The Original Turkey and it was so delicious reminds me of Thanksgiving but so much better because the turkey was juicy and tender. The stuffing had so much flavor and the gravy was savory. The stuffing club was to die for. Next was dessert and we decided on Wilts!!!! Chocolate strawberries was so sweet and delicious. Strawberries by themselves were fragrant. Then Muller Chocolate Co. We got a variety of truffles and chocolate covered pretzels. As a tourist I definitely recommend these places but I do say go and look around and try things that you might fancy! There is plenty

Oh my. What an incredible place to get a true taste of Philly. From cheesesteaks and pretzels to baked goods and fresh meats and veggies - there’s something around every corner! Enjoyed a fresh pressed juice, bagels and donuts while we strolled. Bought some local libations home with us. Can’t wait to go try some more spots throughout the market
LeeAnna F — Google review
A must visit! TONS of vendors and delicious food throughout the building. Anything you could want, it’s going to be in here. I loved the neon signs and how much there was throughout. Great deals galore, and everyone was friendly and helpful if you had a question. I wish I had something like this closer to home; I would visit Philly again just to come Back here!

The crowd is vibrant and rhe nostalgia is beyond this world. The baked goods selection is absolutely heavenly. Parc Rittenhouse is a premier condominium residence located on the east side of Rittenhouse Square. It offers modern conveniences and amenities, making it an ideal place to live. The ambiance of the place is reminiscent of Paris, with delicious food and great service. Whether you're there for a business meal, birthday celebration, or just to enjoy some pastries, Parc Rittenhouse provides a delightful experience.
Parc is such an amazing spot and has become my to-go spot with great savory plates as well as good portions. The waiters and servers are so nice & are on hand each time we go. We love winding down here viewing different people & pets pass by. It’s located at such a perfect location where you could go on a stroll, walk through the park, get dessert or go shopping afterwards! Def recommend if you’re in the city. It is a very pet-friendly restaurant as well. I would say breakfast/ brunch is the best time to go!

ONE OF THE TOP MEALS IN 2025!!! Truly, such an exceptional experience. The food is amazing and fresh. The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. Moreover, the restaurant is extremely rustic and clean inside. Such a wonderful dinner experience! The shrimp and oysters were amazing. Cannot recommend Parc enough.

We wanted to try lunch. We ordered cheese omlette and mozarella sandwich. As dessert of course crème brule. The bread basket was really yummy. Very crowded we waited some time to get seated. We didn’t get super big meals but ending paying over $50 excluding tip. So pricey. Another things you should know before you go. The parking is really difficult. Maybe better to take uber or bus.

Amazing restaurant. All the food was incredible. I had always wanted to try a croque monsieur, and it did not disappoint. Bread and appetizers were high quality and delicious. The cranberry nut bread was my favorite. Very moist and flavorful. My wife is a connoisseur of fine French Onion soup, and she exclaimed that this was the best she'd ever had. The quiche Lorraine was delightful, fluffy and crusty, very light. Portion size is perfect - you won't leave hungry but you won't need a cart to haul leftovers. Its just right. Desserts are to die for. This is the best creme brulee I've ever had, and the chocolate mousse is the perfect flavor, sweetness and a magical consistency you cant make at home. Service was perfect at well. Our server Samantha is delightful, quick with a knowledgeable recommendation and great conversation. The manager Sawyer visited our table and was clearly invested in the quality of food and performance of his staff. 10/10 highest recommendation. Will be back soon!
Albert B — Google review
The service and food were amazing. Our server Jose was friendly and good care of our party of 5. The bread was outstanding. The cocktails were perfectly prepared but pricey. This is a large restaurant and it is extremely loud when it gets busy.

Amazing place we come here every time we are in downtown. From the service which is top notch to the atmosphere and the food is always delicious never had one bad bit or drink. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our food and drinks very much! Solid restaurant that is always busy in Philadelphia. Make sure to make reservations. I have been here for brunch, lunch, dinner, and just late night snacks. Service has always been good. Their bread basket is amazing. You can buy bread to-go at the counter by the (small) bar. Our friends from out of town are always pleased here as well. My favorite is brunch here. But I am glad to take any meal at Parc!!!
Oanh N — Google review
I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and well-presented, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly throughout the meal. Pricing was very reasonable given the quality of the food and service. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to returning soon.

Campo's Philly Cheesesteaks is a well-known family-owned restaurant that has been serving up delicious cheesesteaks, hoagies, and specialty sandwiches since 1947. Located in Philadelphia, the city famous for its iconic Philly Cheesesteak, Campo's is one of the oldest cheesesteak joints in Old City. The eatery started as a grocery store and butcher shop before evolving into a beloved dining spot.
The customer service was fantastic! The woman who took our order was extremely helpful, answering all of our questions and guiding us towards what she though would make the right mix of peppers, etc. based on what we said we liked. I ended up getting the Philly with Cooper's Sharp, a variety of peppers, and grilled onions. It was delicious! Highly recommend this spot!
Patrick O — Google review
Family run business since 1947. Friendly family greeted us at the counter and let us know which family member made each item. It’s a little crowded for seating, but that’s to be expected in a small older space.
TechChick 4 — Google review
10/4/25 first time here. Found this place while wandering around with my morning coffee... So i looked it up and saw the reviews. I walked back later & picked up an Italian cheese steak for lunch (to go). It was really good! I will certainly return here the next time I'm in Philly. Friendly, family run place, i love that. They even had torrone for sale! (Must buy some next time) Small seating area but that's ok!
Dave I — Google review
Wow! The cheesesteaks are amazing. We had the works, a cheesesteak with grilled onions and whiz, and the hoagie with lettuce and tomato. The coleslaw was delicious. Sweet and crunchy. Highly recommended 👍
Jennifer B — Google review
Absolutely amazing! The service was excellent and the cheese steaks are great. All made by the coolest guys in Philly! The owners are great and we had a great time talking to them. It was a full house for dinner but we got a table for 4. The stockyard was the best. We also got the works, mac-n-cheese, and homemade cookies. We came from Texas to visit the historic area and heard about Campos. We had to try it and so greatfull that we did. Definitely putting this place on our list when we come back.
DaFlash — Google review
My first Philly Cheasecake did not disappoint. Got the works and the sandwich was huge. Very Filling. Nice guy behind the counter. Cute place. Thank you!
Jennifer C — Google review
We just tried this place at the recommendation of our tour guide and it was awesome! Excellent cheese steaks! The lady who served us is part of the family that owns it and she was so nice. She told us that her mom makes the potato salad so we tried it. It was unique but in a VERY GOOD way. If you're in town, try them out
Tim C — Google review
I came to visit town and I was craving a good cheeestake for a quick dinner. Not the best I've ever had but what makes it worth it is their fast paced service and welcoming presence. The lady at the front was very kind and helped me. I would highly recommend for good service and quick food. Love me a greasy Cheesestake.

HipCityVeg is a small, industrial-looking eatery in Philadelphia that offers healthful dine-in or take-out vegan food and smoothies. Founded by Nicole Marquis, the menu features fast-food classics with a vegan twist, including golden chicken nuggets made from grains, crispy portobello sandwiches, and seasonal soy-based milkshakes. The venue also serves breakfast options such as the AM Philly with tofu scramble.
I dropped by for a snack wrap. Being vegetarian this place is fantastic. I’m usually not a fan of mock meat but this tasted great! Looking forward to trying more items
Kinjal S — Google review
This is a good restraunt for someone else. It is exactly what it says it is. Vegitetian fast food. They have a tone of cheap vegiterian options ranging ranging from shakes to chicken nuggets. We got the chicken wrap and chicken nuggets with a shake. They were all cheap but also not a lot of food. The food itself was decent but also nothing memorable. It eas passable as it's imitations but since it's imitating fast food meat, the bar isn't very high. All of that to say, if you want a quick vegiterian snack it's not bad (but you could also do better).
Conner J — Google review
I was starving and wanted to try something new, so I went to HipCityVeg. The place is nice and the girl working there was really sweet! She suggested the Crispy HipCity Ranch, so I went for it. When I got my food, I saw it said “100% plant-based” and that’s when I realized it’s a vegan restaurant 😂 Honestly, I laughed because it looked too good to be vegan. The food was delicious though — didn’t even feel like fake chicken! 🌱
B A — Google review
Hip City Veg is a staple of the vegan community here in Philadelphia & there is no disputing that, years ago it was basically unheard of to find vegan fast food & they were the reigning champs of the plant based comfort food game. However, the last 2-3 times I’ve eaten there, the food seems like it’s been knocked down several pegs in quality, has become significantly pricier & a significantly less pleasing environment to dine in. With competitors like PLNT popping up & contrasting what you get from HCV to a place like Jarrell’s Better Burger in Manhattan, it’s evident you’re being underserved. I love the concept of HCV & want them to succeed, I honestly feel like they need a team huddle & a menu update to catch up with the plant based food game of 2024.

On a recommendation we came here and were not disappointed. Great chat with staff and a customer sitting next to us. I really should have taken a photo of the Philly Cheesesteak before I demolished it.

The food was good! I was expecting it to be a little better based off photos but it was tasty. The spicy chicken sandwich is SPICY be warned. I can tolerate spice but I was fighting for my life with that heat. Everything else was tasty and the staff was so friendly and helpful.

Federal Donuts is a popular counter-serve spot known for its Korean-style fried chicken, creative donuts, and coffee. While it may not offer a full menu at all locations, the outpost at Citizens Bank Park stands out for having a working fried donut machine during Phillies games. Customers can enjoy hot made-to-order donuts alongside their chicken sandwiches and Za'atar Fries. The variety of donut options is impressive, with the chocolate with sprinkles being a fan favorite.
Yummmmm Fed Donuts at Citizens Bank Park....hell ya! Not only do they make the best donuts in the city but they make an excellent fried chicken sandwich! I love that they are at CBP, what a great addition!!
Eric S — Google review
I only got their donuts (cookies and cream) but I loved them. They hit my sweet tooth perfectly! I was surprised when I realized that they didn't do a combination of tenders and donuts, but I guess I have to get them next time. Yet, I do wish the donuts were a little bigger.
Sebastian O — Google review
Man oh man it seems like this location went down hill over the last two years. Got my first order of tenders for myself and the family and they sure did get a lot smaller! No giant hands here either. Price didn’t go down. $14 for 3 of these? Do better federal donuts!
Tony B — Google review
At Citizens Bank Park tonight, I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich(fried chicken breast with buttermilk ranch dressing and pickles on a bun, $13.50). When I took it to my seat and bit into it, parts of it were very chewy and some parts I couldn't chew or bite through at all because the chicken was not thoroughly cooked through. I spit the inedible pieces into the sandwich wrapper and threw half of the sandwich. Except for the ranch dressing, the chicken was tasteless and undercooked. This is my first visit to CBP this season, and in the last 3 seasons I'd usually go to 4-6 games per season, and I always get the same fried chicken sandwich which has always been tender, juicy, and flavorful. So, imagine how thoroughly disappointed I was this time, and there will absolutely NOT be a next time. I will not be visiting Federal Donuts again and I won't be recommending it to anyone. If I could give this experience a lower rating than 1, I would do so.
Steve P — Google review
It probably goes without saying that this is not the best Federal Donuts location. It doesn't have a full menu and their chicken sits under a heat lamp during ballgames. However, they get MAJOR points for having a WORKING FRIED DONUT MACHINE at the ballpark! You can actually get hot made to order donuts during. Phillies game! We just got their chicken sandwiches, which were good but small, and some Za'atar Fries. Both were good but I would probably rather avoid paying the high prices and just get some standard ballpark food. If you are ONLY in Philly to see a baseball game. Definitely stop here. I know that you have heard a lot about our cheesteakrs but, believe me, these donuts are not be missed.
David L — Google review
Chicken was pink, chewy and not cooked through. I thoroughly support federal doughnuts and understand the stadium is busy but I did not appreciate being up all night with food poisoning.

The Franklin Fountain is a charming ice cream parlor and soda fountain in Philadelphia, owned by two bow-tie-wearing brothers who are passionate about old-school ice cream parlors. Since its opening in 2004, the shop has aimed to provide an experience filled with nostalgia and forgotten American flavors. The menu offers a variety of whimsical and classic ice cream flavors, sundaes, splits, milkshakes, and other delightful treats.
Food- 5/5 Service- 4/5 Ambiance- 4/5 Drinks- 5/5 (milkshakes) Value- 3/5 A Sweet Step Back in Time at Franklin Fountain Franklin Fountain in Old City Philadelphia is more than just an ice cream shop – it's a delightful dip into history with a side of truly delicious, hand-crafted ice cream. From the moment you step inside, you're transported by the charmingly old-fashioned decor, packed with historical artifacts that add a unique flavor to the experience. The ice cream itself is the star of the show. With a good array of flavor options, it's clear that care and quality go into each batch. The "hand-crafted" description isn't just a label; the rich and satisfying taste speaks for itself. Be prepared for a bit of a wait! On our visit, there was a line of about 15 people ahead of us, and it continued to grow behind us. This popularity speaks to the quality of their offerings, but it's something to keep in mind if you're on a tight schedule. While the ice cream was undeniably good and the historical ambiance added to the enjoyment, I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip just for Franklin Fountain. However, if you find yourself exploring the historical wonders of Old City, a stop here for a sweet treat is an absolute must. It's a lovely way to cap off a day of sightseeing and indulge in a taste of the past. Overall: Delicious, hand-crafted ice cream in a uniquely historical setting. Ice cream - 5/5 Service - 4/5 Atmosphere- 4/5 I really loved the ice cream BUT like much or the reviews said the experience was a bit over-hyped. There is no indoor seating and it is difficult to actually interact and watch the bow-tied server concoct your concoctions. I would recommend going if you are in the area but it probably isn’t worth going out of your way just for the ice cream. There are plenty of other high-end artisanal ice cream shops in Philly. It’s cute and kitsch and the serving are huge but it isn’t a must visit while in town.

This was my first time there . I loved the retro decor and flair. They have a great ice cream selection you can also get soda water or floats. My selection was a scoop from f coconut on a sugar waffle cone. It was delicious!!!! I would definitely recommend this place.

Been to Franklin Fountain a couple times. Its classic. But quite expensive. Definitely a special occasion type of place. Large variety of flavors. Very small shop but its beautiful inside. My go to is the matcha green tea and strawberry. Someone else in my party got root beer float and ice cream sundae. Were all great.

The ice cream was ok, thought it would be something amazing being they have such a long history there. Not much space in this corner lot. There are only a few customers that are allowed inside at one time and ifs the summer you have the close the door behind you to keep the AC from escaping. Your ice cream is served in a take out box. There is no seating inside, only outside seating.
John Y — Google review
The price is insane! I paid about $17 for a two scoop plus a waffle cone. The waffle cone alone was $5! I will say, The waffle cone was the best part of this trip. These cones are thick and tasty. The ice cream was ok. The ice cream was too soft and was melting faster than one could lick. The pumpkin flavor had a great pumpkin spice taste but the aftertaste wasn’t pleasant. The chocolate fudge brownie was rich in chocolate and brownie. The portions are large so prepare yourself if you get two scoops.

If you look at the reviews for this place and the photos online you’re thinking you’re about to have the best experience and ice cream sunday or banana split of your life. Not the case. Rather your wooed by the ambience and old-fashioned atmosphere, the signs for the homemade whipped cream, house made sodas etc….and then you get your order. My “banana split for my baby” didn’t have one singular slice of banana in it, not one spanish peanut, was drowning in store-bought whipped cream and had two cherries on it (which were not listed as a part of it on the menu). My husband’s hot fudge Sunday was below average and overall we spent $32 😱 on two items. Wish the product lived up to the overall cool vibe of the place. I loved the phone (that still works) and all the old school knickknacks. Maybe next time we’ll stick with a waffle cone and flavored ice cream.

Such a lovely ice cream shop with even better service. The Franklin fountain has such an antique feel to it but the ice cream options are fresh and creative. Tiana was extremely helpful and made our experience memorable by allowing us to sample flavors until we found the right one. She was kind, attentive and efficient which is a rarity these days. This will be my go-to dessert spot from on now, whenever i’m in Philly!

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Philadelphia, McGillin's Olde Ale House stands as a historic icon, offering a wide array of beers and classic pub fare. Since its establishment in 1860 by Irish immigrants Catherine and William McGillin, this charming tavern has been a hub for locals and tourists alike. With its timeless decor and cozy nooks, the ambiance exudes an old-world charm that transports patrons to an era of conviviality.
We wanted to eat somewhere special in Philadelphia and we were lucky to find this incredible tavern. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. The drinks were great! Everyone was really nice especially Shana our bartender! This will be our go-to place whenever we're in Philadelphia! Thanks!

We had a nice time at McGillins. The staff was friendly and didn’t have any issues. We popped in on a Sunday afternoon for drinks. My wife got a cocktail she really enjoyed. I did the beer sampler. The value was great I think $11 or so for the sampler with you get to choose a few of those. I’m not a huge beer guy in general and didn’t love any of the beers but enjoyed the experience. Think they could’ve been a little colder. We did get a koozie for our collection and the vibes were great inside. Definitely worth checking out.

Great relaxed environment. Feels like a local neighborhood bar on the middle of the city. Best happy hour and great value as an event space for retirement or birthday parties etc. Service is great. Staff is friendly and fun. Drinks well made with tasty food. The price is also right! Very good compared to the other city bars & restaurants.

It feels like this place is kind of tucked away in the city and it's satisfying when you first see it. Solid stop and won't break the bank. Get the "original sandwitch special, "which consists of your choice of turkey, roast beef, or corned beef on rye bread with coleslaw and Russian dressing. Recommended.

Totally my kind of place! Cozy and dimly lit atmosphere, great food, a solid selection of beers, and friendly service. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a laid-back spot to enjoy a good meal and drinks🍻

Greeted like friends as soon as we walked in. Cold beer, great charm, and really cool that it’s the oldest pub in the city. Such a good vibe.

After a day of touring my family around the the city, our last stop was McGillin’s. Rich with history and full of lively customers, it was a great way to end the day. My cousin and I had $5 mimosa specials - sounded light and easy after our long day. But her husband had a beer flight which looked incredible and my boyfriend had a pint or two. Great prices and a great place to take a load off for a bit. We maybe spent $35 for the four of us.

Shanghainese restaurant
Dim Sum Garden is a popular Chinese restaurant located in Chinatown that has gained legendary status since its opening in 2013. The chef, Shizhou Da, brings over 30 years of experience to the table and offers a menu filled with flavor-packed dishes. The restaurant is known for its range of dumplings, classic rice and noodle meals, and Shanghai-styled treats such as shao mai and marinated duck noodle soup.
Really clean new place! The dumplings were spot on authentic! Juicy, tasty, and just all around delicious! We orders 6 items. The Char Siu bao came out first, not pictured. This was the only thing we did not enjoy fully. The filling was good. However you can tell the bao was reheated as parts of it were dried out. Only downside is they only take cash. Which I think is under handed IMO. But they do provide you an ATM. Just know there are not signs that tells you it’s cash only nor do they tell you when you sit down or order. You find out when you find out. In our case we had to ask since we saw the ATM.
Ling B — Google review
Cash only! Dinner was great. I would have liked the Shanghai rice to be fried a little harder. But that would be my preference. It was good. The crab rangoon was large and full. The pork buns are soft and fluffy. It was a great experience because of Mindy's attention to us.
Denise M — Google review
TLDR: Avoid, I would not recommend to my enemy unless I really hated them. 🤢 Potential health violation? Dirty dishes replaced with “fresh” dirty dishes. (the new place setting had dried pieces of leftover food from the previous use) 💀 Sticky! Everything was sticky, grime sticky, not dumpling sauce sticky. The bottom of dish plates, the individual plates, the bowl, the spoon 💰Cash-only restaurant that charges tax (pick one, you know?) ————————— We had tried this restaurant as a late night option at 9pm. Our one server was a gem—which is why I gave a 2 star instead of a 1 star. Other than that, the sheer cleanliness (or lack thereof) ruined the whole food experience—I was too grossed using the sticky utensils and plates let alone think about how “clean” the kitchen where the food is made is. 😷 decent food: - shanghai soup dumplings (heavy hand with the sauce) 3/5 - crispy garlic lettuce — crunchy! 4/5 - salt and pepper wings — salty! good fry 3.5/5 Other food (1/5) - shrimp dumplings had thick wrapper that was too chewy and felt frozen - fish sour soup lacked flavor and spice - garlic bean sprouts looked old and wilted, there was a layer of white film on top and the sauce was a little too thick and corn-starchy

This place has always been a favorite of mine, but the renovated location two doors down is down adds an amazing atmosphere and upscale ambience to the always fantastic food. On top of that, Ryan provides a level of service that is unmatched. I moved away years ago, and every time I come back to town I bring whoever I’m with to get pork soup dumplings. A favorite experience of mine, and I never leave hungry. Every time I leave, I can’t wait to come back. Love this place, don’t miss out!

We got a table right away on Sunday afternoon before it got too busy. The service was very fast. We order a pork soup dumpling and it was delicious. Then we had a salty duck and white rice. Duck comes with small pieces of bone in it. So be careful. Dried nodules with beef was very good also. Only cash. Place was packed. I’d go back next time.
Geisa A — Google review
This place was so delicious! We had the cucumbers, chicken soup dumplings, pork & chive dumplings, beef ho fun, pork buns and sesame chicken. My top picks were the beef ho fun and both dumplings. Service was fast and friendly but be aware this place is cash only!

We ordered fried rice, pan-fried beef dumplings, jumbo shrimp on a stick, and a couple of non-alcoholic drinks with my daughter — everything was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We really enjoyed our experience and definitely recommend this restaurant!

Sandwich shop
John's Roast Pork is a legendary spot in South Philly known for its iconic roast-pork sandwich and cheesesteaks. Despite its unassuming appearance, this close-to-centenarian grill joint attracts both newcomers and regulars who line up along the counter to savor their juicy, garlicky, and herbaceous signature sandwich. The menu also features other mouthwatering options like roast beef, cheesesteaks, breakfast sandwiches, hoagies, and chicken cheesesteaks.
We stopped at John's before a show at the 2300 Arena, and let me say thank goodness we did! The food flavor was excellent, the staff was super friendly, the portions were well worth the value. All in all I highly recommend putting this place on a go to list if you have not had the pleasure of trying their food. 3 generations have done it right!!!!!

The pizza steak sub was amazing, and their marinara/red gravy (whichever you call it.) was great. The Philly was average at best. It didn't live up to the hype that surrounds it. The portion sizes are worth what you pay, two can eat on one sub if you're on a budget. The staff though could have better customer service skills.

Cheesesteak with sharp provolone. The bread was fabulous. The cheesesteak was seriously good, especially with bite from the cheese. Was able to grab a table out back in the sun. Order at the window. Get your order number. Wait patiently. Enjoy. Would recommend and am coming back.
Kurt W — Google review
John’s Roast Pork came highly recommended as one of the best Philly cheesesteaks! I got a cheesesteak with cooper sharp and fried onions. First thing I noticed was the bread, meat and cheese ratio was off. Roll needed to be scooped out, you can see from the photo how bread is majority of the sandwich. The meat was high quality and no fatty pieces, but the cheese was sparse and not evenly distrustful throughout. Each bite was different and not in a good way. It was mediocre overall. I wouldn’t come back here, I much prefer Del Rossi’s and Angelo’s.
Ariana L — Google review
First time here yesterday after seeing John's on Worth It and other YouTube channels. Ordered a cheesesteak with the peppers, but it did not have any peppers. Also ordered the roast pork sandwich with spinach, but it did not have the spinach. Both sandwiches tasted really good though. Customer service was good. There is minimal shaded seating. There is parking on the sides of the roads and across the street. They don't do whiz here, so heads up for those that want whiz. If I'm ever in Philly again I'd be down to come here for cheesesteaks, and I think others would really enjoy the food here as well.
Andrew C — Google review
I'd give 10 stars if I could. We got off the plane visiting from South Carolina and immediately came here. I chose this spot over lists of best cheesesteak in the area and it was about a 30 minute drive from the airport. Pulling up the line was super long so we knew we were in the right spot. Ended up in front of 2 guys who work for Barstool sports and told us how to order our roast pork sandwich. We got it Italiano style and a cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions and a order of fries. Best cheesesteak I've ever had. Down here in SC people go for Harrys who are from Philly and Inkys..who are frauds but this sandwich from John's Roast Pork has set the bar extremely high. Definitely gets my vote for the best and with being a James Beard Award winner...that says something. The fries were perfectly seasoned.
Greg C — Google review
One of the best cheese steak joints anywhere. We always stop here when we get near Philly. We always get our own and as soon as we sit down we say we could have shared one and take half home. I could probably finish one myself but I would be hurting for a while.

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Noodle shop
Terakawa Ramen is a popular casual-chic ramen bar located in Chinatown, known for its variety of flavorful noodle combinations and Japanese dishes like curries and donburi. The small and cozy space often has a line outside, but it's worth the wait for their rich broths filled with ingredients like roast pork belly, mushrooms, and soy egg.
I've been wanting to try this place forever, ever since I discovered it online about a year ago. I finally got to try it recently for lunch! The restaurant itself is pretty small, and the seating is pretty cramped. You sit on small stools at little tables, but that was fine. The stools are hollow block-shaped, so you can put your purse inside the stool to keep it safe. They have regular tables or you can eat at the bar section, somewhat similar to the setup of an old school diner. The foods I got were the veggie croquette, the charsu onigiri, and chicken katsudon. The croquette was delicious, with a crispy outside and a soft and fluffy inside. The charsu onigiri was EXTREMELY hot when it came out, so much so that I had to take it home to eat later. It was pretty good, but I can make better onigiri myself. The chicken katsudon was amazing! Perfectly cooked chicken, wonderfully juicy with crisp breading. The rice was also very well made, just the right amount of fluffy. The prices were also fantastic! The katsudon was only $15! Where I live, the same exact dish would easily be $26 to $30, and probably with less meat. Next time I'm in the city, I'm totally going here for lunch again! They do not offer paper menus however! They utilize QR code menus, which is a bit tricky if you have a not great phone. I recommend looking at their menu at home while on a PC or large screen, and figure out what you want before you go.

Not sure what the hype is about. The broth was perfectly good but noodles and everything else is just standard. Their karaage chicken is absolutely horrible and I can’t for my life recommend ordering that
Anthony I — Google review
My husband and I are huge fans of ramen. We always try to have one when we come to a new city. We had Shoyu Ramen, which is usually our favorite broth flavour. This time it was good but not very rich in flavor. The roast pork was very tender and juicy. The service was really quick. The place looks cozy and welcoming. We'll definitely come back another time to try more of their ramen and appetizers.

Had a delicious dinner here - ordered the pork buns and chicken buns, edamame, seaweed salad, tan tan Ramen, and pork cutlet curry. ramen broth was very rich and noodles were cooked perfectly. the curry was perfect, rich in flavor

Thank you fellow reviewers in helping us find a good ramen shop in Philly! ATMOSPHERE: Contemporary Asian decor. Clean and newer looking shop. Counter & table seating. FOOD: Gyoza 5 pieces of pork & veggie dumplings fried to perfection, with a delicious dipping sauce. Mini Tokyo Fried Chicken Curry Small bowl of rice topped with the crispy chicken & curry gravy. Delish! I wasn't a curry fan but my taste buds are a-changin'! Mayu Ramen When I ordered this, both the chef & server acted surprised and asked me if I've ever had ramen before, and told me what the broth was made of and that its the same broth that's in the Terakawa signature ramen but a step above it. Come on now, what Asian do you know who hasn't eaten ramen? I know they meant well. I just said yes and that I was sure that's what I wanted. Ok, the broth is made from a pork bone base so the color is a milky brown but they also add in mayu which they tout as a dark roasted leek & crushed garlic oil mixture, which adds a layer of black oil seasoning that floats at the top. The broth is mild in flavor and is very rich and filling. Some reviewers mistake it as bland but I don't think it's meant to be an overpowering flavor. The toppings of char siu, red ginger, mushrooms, scallions, and egg all compliment the broth nicely. I've never had anything like this so I'm glad I tried it. It's definitely not for the average ramen eater - you've got to be a fan. Tan Tan Ramen My spouse added a hard boiled egg to his dish. I tasted the broth only. It's a bit sweet for a tan tan base and not spicy. Our favorite version resides at at Goma Tei in Honolulu which is spicier and more savory. SERVICE: Walked in at 3pm on a Monday afternoon and got seated immediately as the place was empty. Our female server was very friendly but disappeared after our order was taken. Someone else brought over our food. She didn't check on us or refill our waters. The chef was very engaging and cared about what his customers were eating as he consulted with us while ordering. OVERALL: Nice & clean ramen shop in Philly's Chinatown with great food and average prices. Definitely a come back spot!

After years of hearing rave reviews about Terakawa Ramen, I finally came in! I understand the hype now. I want to start this off by saying, I am not a huge ramen eater. I don’t have much to compare this experience to, but the broth was savory and the noodles weren’t overcooked. Chicken tasted good. The star of the show for me, which was unexpected, was the side of chicken curry. Some of the crispiest chicken I’ve had and the curry was flavored well. Only $5. I will absolutely come back for more of that! FYI - there are no reservations, but the wait even on a Friday night wasn’t bad. You put your name/number on a tablet and they text you when your table is ready. Plenty of nearby shops to shop in while waiting.
Ariana L — Google review
Yeah. Went to this place on a Saturday night and was greeted with a line nearly out the door. Started to put my info in at the ipad up front when a server saw me and asked “are you just one?” When I told her yes, she told me to follow her and sat me at a seat along the kitchen. Scanned the QR code for the menu and was nearly instantly asked what I wanted, then very politely told no problem we’ll be back when I said I needed a bit more time. Went with the onigiri, the terakawa signature, a side order of curry, and a calpico (unfortunately no alcohol). This shit was delicious. Asked for the ramen to be a little saltier. Didn’t add anything to it. The egg was perfect, the pork was way softer and tastier than it had any business being, and the curry on the side was a really homey feel to it, like the curry blocks I’d make at home. 10/10 on all fronts (minus no alcohol but I get it), will definitely be back.
William Y — Google review
If I am ever back in Philadelphia's Chinatown, I am immediately going back to Terakawa Ramen. I had been to Philadelphia a few times before, and all those other times, it's a shame I never came here before my last trip. I was looking for a classic ramen restaurant in Chinatown that I couldn't get in Arkansas, and the reviews of Terakawa Ramen gave me comfort that this was the place. Immediately as I walked up to the storefront, I knew I made the right choice when I saw the lantern dangling off the balcony of the store. As I walked in, I immediately felt like I was back in Japan. I of course ordered the Terakawa Ramen and the Japanese Sausage as an appetizer. I hadn't had Japanese Sausage in so long, I almost cried when I took my first bite. It was exactly as I had remembered it since I was a kid. When the Terakawa Ramen arrive, I think I DID cry. The pork belly had the right amount of thickness for the fat of the pork belly to shine through, and the broth was to die for. The noodles were cooked just right, and I was so glad to have pickled ginger in the bowl and not on the side(or not there at all in a lot of ramen shops in Arkansas). I wish we had a Terakawa here! If you're in Philadelphia, you HAVE to eat here!

Israeli restaurant
Restaurant
Dizengoff is a vibrant eat-in and take-out destination that brings the essence of Israeli hummus stalls to the U.S. Founded by culinary talents Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook, this spot specializes in an array of fresh, rich hummus served with warm, hearth-baked pita and a selection of Middle Eastern salads. The menu features both vegetarian and meat toppings that change regularly, ensuring there's always something new to try.
This place has the best hummus I have had outside of the Middle East—the Turkish hummus was by far and away the standout among the ones we tried. The chicken schnitzel was delicious and very light. The Moroccan cigars were so crispy and flavorful and I could’ve eaten an entire plate by my self. The staff was super friendly and efficient.

Lovely food. Hummus spread variety was pretty unique with some really bold flavors. Pita of course was the soft, warm, and chewy. For mains, the chicken thighs was garlicky, juicy, bright, and flavorful. Chicken a chnitzel was crispy and moist. Everything was fairly basic but didn’t try to be anything over the top. A bit pricey but a porthole experience to come back for.

We were visiting from out of town and made a reservation at Dizengoff to celebrate a special day together. From the moment we walked in we felt taken care of. David made sure we had a great table, and Valentina was wonderful. This was the best hummus we’ve ever had. French fries had the perfect crunchiness. Entrees were very plentiful. Highly recommend this restaurant!

i have been to laserwolf in bk and had an amazing meal so was so excited when i found this was also from the same chef. the food was delicious and comforting. if we had an endless stomach, we would have ordered the whole menu. menu highlights: hummus tehina (try it with the fries and its the perfect bite), fries (obvi), lamb kofte (cooked perfectly and juicy), and coconut malabi (loved it).

We started with the hummus sampler, served with warm pita — flavorful and delicious. I had the lamb neck for my entrée; it was tender and tasty. The fennel side had a unique, slightly acquired flavor — not my favorite but not bad either. My friend’s za’atar chicken looked and tasted great. Service was friendly and attentive, and overall it was a very good dining experience.

Incredible restaurant! The server was very passionate about the food and made great recommendations. All of the hummus’ were fantastic but special shout out to the cooked Turkish hummus with garlic oil! The chicken was cooked to perfection with a perfect crunchy schnitzel crust! The date cookie was good but was a bit drier than I was expecting. Will definitely be returning
Alexander F — Google review
Hummus: 5/5 A+. BEST humus I EVER HAD. I normally don’t like humus. This was AMAZING. Lamb Kofte: 2/5. The other stuff on the plate was good. The lamb was…not good. Felt like my entire insides smelt like lamb for the next few hours. Still makes me sick thinking about it. Chicken schnitzel: 4/5. Pretty good. Specially if you put some of the humus on it. Could use a little more…seasoning or salt but it was my first time with Israeli food. It could be a cultural thing. Frozen pink lemonade: 4/5. Thank god I ordered this. Was a really good pallet cleanse after that lamb dish. Wish they made the drink minty by actually crushing the mint into the drink and not just throwing it on top, but solid drink overall. Chocolate pita French toast: 3.5/5. A little too sweet. Felt like I was eating a cake but I took the leftovers home and have been enjoying taking bits of it here and there since yesterday. Service: the server came by ONCE like 5 minutes after we got our food and never again. I had to wave her down a few times to order additional things (I ordered the French toast and wanted something savory after a few bites). I mean I was sitting there the entire time that my gf was eating just waiting for the server to come by our area. Overall, In the future, I’ll def order the hummus to go, but won’t be eating the other things
Sabin T — Google review
Had an incredible meal at Dizengoff in Rittenhouse Square—everything we ordered was spot on. The shakshouka was perfect: rich, flavorful, and honestly addictive. The hummus was creamy, packed with flavor, and we ended up ordering extra pita just to soak up every bit. The chicken schnitzel was insane—in the best way—with a generous portion of rice, salad, and tahini on the side. And the tahini ice cream sandwich? In a class of its own. We ordered a lot, and every single dish delivered. The pricing is fair for the quality, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

South Street Souvlaki has been a beloved establishment since 1977, offering flavorful Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. The owner, Tom Vasiliades, has perfected the recipe for his Greek falafel over the years, resulting in larger fritters with a golden brown crust and flaky center. Customers can enjoy quick-service takeout or dine in the sit-down area.
South Street Souvlaki, is a hidden gem within Philadelphia. It was my first time here. I had lunch with a friend. I had the Gyro and she had the salad with chicken. The food is absolutely delicious. And I was pleasantly surprised at the generous portion sizes. At the end of the meal she had coffee and I had espresso and the espresso was amazing. Our Server was absolutely awesome. The service is quick and the prices are very affordable. I also got a chance to meet the Owner. He is the nicest man. He allowed me to take some interior photos and a short video. The entire experience of dining there was extremely positive. I am definitely going to return to South Street Souvlaki. I highly recommend South Street Souvlaki.

This restaurant has been on south street since the late 70s and I can see why. This is authentic Greek food to a T! We were here Valentine’s Day and the restaurant looked the part, and we were big fans of their food. The lamb and chicken kebabs were fire. The sides including rice, potatoes, and hummus were great too. Alcohol selection had plenty of good options to choose from. Looking forward to the next visit here

This is an oldie but goody. I was visiting Philly and introduced my son to an old tradition. When I was around his age and younger, my friends and I would almost always get gyros from here. When we arrived after clubbing or doing the South Street stroll we would go to the order window and all get walking gyros. X amount of years later and I share this amazing experience with my kid. I'm so glad they're still around and I pray that they are around when I bring my grandbabies.

I ordered the veggie platter today and there were so many wonderful savory bits of sheer bliss. Even the iced tea was perfect. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly.

We've loved South Street Souvlaki for over 25-yrs! Excellent gyros, fabulous Greek Sampler appetizer with numerous Mediterranean delicacies, and the best hummus I've ever had anywhere. Prices are very reasonable, portions are generous, food quality is excellent, and dishes are homemade. It shows. Service is solid and atmosphere is cozy. A bit tight and cramped, but interesting interior and bar space, with view into kitchen. We love the quality and consistency of South St. Souvlaki for an authentic taste of Greece right here in Philly!

Tattooed Mom is a unique and vibrant bar located on South Street in Philadelphia. The eclectic decor features green walls adorned with art, old furniture, and an assortment of novelty items like plastic toys and temporary tattoos. The atmosphere is described as relaxed and hipster, with a punk-leaning crowd adding to the lively vibe. The menu offers a variety of food and drink specials, including an extensive selection of beers and creative cocktails that defy logical description.
One of the Last, One of the Best!! Years ago I discovered this place as an after work meeting place to sign papers and set weekly schedules in the days prior to always internet connected days . Stuck around one day until "Upstairs" opened and the rest as they say "Is History". When you walk in downstairs you get the vibe, plenty of tables to sit at, locals greet you friendly, but if you venture upstairs your greeted by one of the best cheap pool tables left on south street. The pace has an edge and it's not for everyone, yet everyone is welcome. It's an old dive bar in the best sense of the phrase. The soundtrack is eclectic, as well as the patrons. Behave yourself and have a good time. Bring a buck in quarters a sticker and leave your mark, because this place will truly leave a mark on you.

Cool bar I stopped in for a drink and a rest. They were already on my list due to their menu. I should've come the previous night for those perogies. Their veggie/vegan menu gets plenty of good reviews and I'm really disappointed I didn't order any food when I was there. I was still hungover and needed a liquid lunch instead. It was early and the few people there were mostly for said food. Service was good and attentive. I liked their golden bar top, and could see the future drunken pictures of me in their go-kart. I didn't get a chance to check out the upstairs area. They also have daily specials which would keep me coming back.

I heard a lot about this place, but thought it was going to be grungy inside. It’s the exact opposite. It’s a really cute and fun inside. I definitely was sleeping on this place. Went here on the late night on a holiday nonetheless and the food and service was on point. They cater to mixed diets which is great since I’m vegan and my friend isn’t. We both ordered the corn dogs as starters. He had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and I had the Beyond Mom’s Vegan Burger. We shared some fries. To drink we both had the Tiki Kitty. I never had a corn dog before and enjoyed it and so did my friend. He really liked his Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. At first he didn’t think it was that spicy, but the spice kicked in and he was like I feel the heat now. I was worried my beyond burger was going to feel like something I eat at home, but they put their own spin on it and it was yummy. The Tiki Kittys were good, but I can’t say I tasted the liquor like that. This is a great option for reasonable food and it’s great they are open late.

I didn't have any food from here but the cocktails are great, the staff are friendly and I had this cute cat cup for $8 I am obsessed. This place is a must for a visit to philly. They have free arts and crafts on Sunday it was so much fun. 10/10 recommend!

I was craving a vegan cheesesteak on my way home from work today. I googled a search for it and this place was the closest and had excellent reviews on their vegan cheesesteak. It was the absolute worst one I’ve ever had in my life! And I was starving hungry! It was $18 for the cheesesteak and a bottle of Coke. I left a three dollar tip. This was takeout. I don’t know what kind of plant-based meat they used, but it was horrible. Even the roll just wasn’t good. It was like a day old roll. I’m really hugely disappointed for wasting my money. I ended up just picking it apart since there was mostly bread, and tossed half of it. I knew I I should have made that extra 1 mile trip and gone to Monster Vegan! I’m so sorry I didn’t!

I came here late night after performing in a show SO HUNGRY! I wasn't sure if the kitchen was still open so I called while I was on the way. Bobby was on the other end of the phone with such great energy letting me know that the kitchen was closing soon but to come on in and he'll be at he door waiting to take my order! I went and was not disappointed. Bobby was waiting there with such a postivie demeanor. My order was put in immediately so I didn't miss the window. I ordered perogies and vegan cheese waffle fries. While I waited for less than 10 minutes, Bobby kept me company with great conversation and warm hospitality. I can't wait to go back and stay rather than take it to go.

The ambiance is pretty abstract and cool. The server was extremely rude to us, our whole group hated the service here. I ordered the Mom's burger, the most average/basic burger in the world. The silver lining was that it wasn't bad.

Goldie is a popular vegan lunch spot in Philadelphia, known for serving delicious falafel with Dizengoff pita, shawarma-spiced fries, and vegan tahini shakes. It is part of the Franklins Table vendors at KQ, alongside other renowned eateries. The restaurant is owned by Michael Solomonov, a James Beard Award-winning chef and local Israeli food ambassador.
Absolutely amazing vegetarian spot! I had the falafel sandwich and a tahina shake — both were incredible. The shake especially blew me away — I’ve never had anything like it before. Creamy, rich, and so unique! The falafel sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. When I asked locals for a good vegetarian spot, almost everyone recommended Goldie — and it definitely didn’t disappoint. If you’re in Philly and looking for a satisfying meat-free meal, this place is a must-try!

Absolutely delicious falafel! Crispy on the outside, soft and full of flavor on the inside. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. The pita was warm and fluffy, and the salads were super fresh with just the right balance. The tahini and pickles tied everything together perfectly. Fast service, friendly staff, and great value for the price. If you're a falafel lover, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!

It's hard to get falafel right. Theirs is decent. The milkshakes are impressive for vegan. I wish it had more seating and was a little quieter, maybe an extra wall between the seating and where you order. Love the free water dispenser with real cups.

The original Tehina shake is spectacular. The Turkish Coffee shake is outstanding as well. This is the only place I have been able to find shakes made with tehini. Next time I'm in town, I will try the rest of the menu. Something interesting with the consuming of the shakes: my blood glucose did not spike. In fact, it barely rose.

Delicious falafel! I got a sandwich with fries in it and really enjoyed it. The picture when ordering online made it seem like it was on the smaller side and I can assure you it was not! It really filled me up for lunch. Would definitely recommend for a fairly quick bite!

Goldie’s never disappoints. Love the falafel sandwich and fires there and could eat it everyday for lunch. The service is always very quick. Pricing is reasonable. Everything is tasty, and if you haven’t tried it you should give it a try for lunch.

Best falafel in Philly for sure. Got the sandwich which was big and packed with vegetables. Wrapped up and easy to eat on the go. The tehina milkshake isn’t something you can get everywhere so I gave it a try. Really good. Inside also had a nice aesthetic and the staff was friendly. I’ll visit anytime I’m in the area.

The Breakfast Den is a cozy cafe located at 15th and South streets, offering a delightful fusion of American and Vietnamese breakfast and lunch dishes. The menu features a variety of options such as Breakfast Rice Bowls with fried eggs and Crispy Pork Belly, Banh Mi Op La with fried eggs, bacon, and sausage, as well as sweet treats like the Hannah Banana Cakes.
My girlfriend and I are here visiting for the weekend. We are from Massachusetts and it’s our first time in Philly. Our original plan was to go to another place. But life works in mysterious ways. As soon as you walk in, you’re comforted with a sense of familiarity. It really does feel like home. Hard working people that enjoy what they do. Now the food, I’ve always loved Vietnamese. Especially Bahn Mi’s! Mixing brunch with their cuisine was not only genius, but the execution was stellar. I got a breakfast rice bowl and a crispy pork belly bahn. My girl got a breakfast bahn mi (madness!). Did I mention the porks egg rolls? I’ll have dreams about them I know it…. As you can tell, we were STARVING when we went and they did not disappoint. Very nice people. The ambience was so warm and beautiful. My favorite part was the back wall. As you can see, it was repaired our refurbished. But they decided to built around it. Make the imperfections speak for themselves. And it was breathtaking. So much love went into this place. I hope they continue to do what they love and people coming to support a beautiful business. My only regret is not trying the congee. Until next time!

A really good fusion Vietnamese breakfast place! If you’re a big fan of Asian food, get a bowl of chao ga chicken porridge. If you want a typical breakfast with Vietnamese pulled pork, thit kho hash is the best choice for you. I’d come back for trying more Veit dish they have. The place itself is little too small and crowded tho, but it’s worth it.

TBD hosted my husband’s 40th birthday party and everything went smooth like butter. Thai (owner) made sure to discuss everything in prep for the party and she is very flexible and creative in formulating a menu that suits your flavor profile. She created a Bun Cha Hanoi summer roll as my husband’s roll because he loves that dish. The dishes were amazing… my favorite was the mini Thit Kho Hash with a quail egg. Everyone was raving about the food especially the spring rolls. The hand crafted drinks were delicious- my fave was strawberry matcha oat milk! Yumoh. Oh and the pastry chef created a delicious and dare I say, moist, vanilla cupcakes with a decadent lychee buttercream frosting. I can’t say enough good things about the food and service. Highly recommend. TBD is a must for breakfast or brunch! 10/10

Got breakfast here this morning. The omelette was very hearty and tasty, though my breakfast buddy wasn't a fan. Personally, I loved the interesting menu options and the Vietnamese coffee and the decore are great. I say 4 and not 5 stars, because it's really too loud in there. Some sort of sound dampening would be great as I had to shout to have a conversation across the table.

The number 1 thing i look for in a bahn mi: is the bread fresh? YES! I came here on a random Tuesday afternoon and the bread was tasty and fresh. Fresh herbs. I got the crispy tofu which felt like it was prepared freshly battered as well. You can see the kitchen from the counter and everything looked clean. I ordered to go and the guy told me 15 min but i think i was waiting for no longer than 10. I ate outside on their dog friendly patio. Cute spot! Next time i might try their breakfast food. Didnt realize it was a dine in place with wait staff.

We had a good experience at The Breakfast Den. Definitely a unique brunch experience with the Vietnamese influence. The "Sang Som"mer Roll was quite good when dipped in the aioli. The chef's omelette with the pulled pork was decent and the home fries were okay at best. And my wife said the matcha vietnamese iced tea wasn't her favorite. Definitely overall everything needed a little bit more flavoring, and we had to add salt and pepper to make things more flavorful, but would consider coming back and trying something off their lunch menu.

I came across an article regarding their congee (cháo) during my trip to Philly and I had to stop by. I’m so glad I did. This little cafe was packed on a Sunday morning but the staff are very efficient and friendly. Expect a little wait if you are a group of 5+. As a Saigon born and raised Viet, I usually find food at fusion restaurants lacking authentic flavors. It is not the case at all at The Breakfast Den! We ordered Cháo gà (Chicken congee) and Thịt Kho Hash and were blown away by how delicious the food was. Bonus point for the most adorable corner storefront and little trinkets inside.

I will definitely be coming back here! The food was absolutely delicious and very affordable. The service was great—friendly and attentive—and the drinks alone were worth the visit. I highly recommend the Lavender London Fog or the Chai; both were incredible. The portion sizes were generous. We split the chicken sandwich and the salad, and both were packed with flavor and so satisfying. I’m already excited to come back and try more from the menu. It truly feels like I’ve found a hidden gem—a hole-in-the-wall spot that delivers on all fronts.

Jim's South St. is a historic location in Philadelphia, serving up authentic Philly-style cheesesteaks and hoagies since 1939. Unlike many other cheesesteak spots in the city, Jim's pays attention not only to the quality of their ingredients but also to providing a comfortable dining experience. Located on the corner of Fourth and South Streets, this iconic eatery often has a line snaking outside, showcasing its popularity among locals and visitors alike.
Went for a late night cheesesteak after club World Cup game. Lots of the crowd there ended up going and kept them running busy well into closing The line was very organized with the help of security. The staff making the sandwiches were very professional and running it smoothly. Cool to see the whole process from outside and inside the shop Various toppings available and turns out they have other meats and options. Lots of drinks as well, soft and alcoholic sorts 5 sandwiches later and we enjoyed them right outside the doors. It is cash only. ATM available

***Cash only*** You can tell this is a local/tourist favorite, with lines non stop and lines moving smoothly. Everything is streamlined super well. There’s lots of extra room upstairs. I’ve been here 10 years ago before they had renovated (after a fire recently, or quasi-recently, apparently). I must say that this time it wasn’t as good as I remember it. I thought back then it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted… Philly cheese steak with whiz, onions, mayo, mushrooms. This time, it was yummy, but not as great as I remember it. It was fun watching the two cooks cut up the sliced, cooked beef into minced meat, but I’m just wondering whether it would have been more satisfying if they had left the meat sliced and not minced. I’ve made this stop because i thought it was an important stop in Philly, but i think i will skip it next time I’m in town. There are many options. I am game to try something new.

Excellent Philly cheesesteak! One of the best of my life. Of the three I had during my trip to Philadelphia, this one had my favorite bread by far. The meat looked like ground beef when it was sitting on the grill instead of thinly shaved ribeye. Im sure it still was equally good quality ribeye, but it was just maybe more finely chopped here, vs other places where you can see it is in larger shavings. I ordered extra cheese and they hooked it up. I got the sweet peppers on top, also delicious. Good price too compared to a lot of the fancier cheesesteak places. The only criticism I have is that they take cash only. I would say this is a contender for my favorite cheesesteak in Philadelphia, will absolutely come back anytime I am in the area again!

Was recommended this spot by a local relative. Thankfully I stopped here because it was incredible! Ordered with wiz and onions. After I got the sandwich and sat down to eat I thought there was no way I could finish it. When I took the first bite I noticed how soft and fresh the bread was. Before I knew it, I had inhaled the entire cheesesteak! Not just the best cheesecake I've ever had, Jim's South St. has probably the best sandwich I've ever eaten! Kudos for the quality and consistency. Loved the upstairs area as well, the mosaics are really cool. Side note: When I was flying out of Philly, I saw that Jim's has a restaurant in the airport as well. I couldn't help myself and tried one more. While not as good as the original obviously, it was still an amazing sandwich.

Delicious Philly Cheese steak at a budget friendly price. Quaint little restaurant that is both clean and appealing to the eye. I gave 4 stars for service only because of the long line... but I guess that's what happens when everyone wants a taste of the best.

Cash only! Not cheap but cheese steak sandwich was excellent. We had it with grilled onions and jalapeno peppers and provolone we had one sandwich and a bottle of Diet Coke and it was almost $18. It’s a Philly thing to get the cheese steak so it was a success.

Small plates restaurant
Amada Philadelphia is the flagship restaurant of chef-restaurateur Jose Garces, offering a modern twist on traditional Spanish tapas. The menu features over 50 small plates, including crab-stuffed peppers and flatbread with artichoke and black truffle. Ingredients are carefully sourced from northern Spain, with an emphasis on exquisite cheeses. The restaurant's large front room exudes a lively atmosphere, while the second dining room offers a quieter setting.
Incredible food and great experience. Options for all especially if you want something small or big. Alex was very helpful in choosing dishes and recommended a delicious vegetable Paella. We also had the chorizo and potatoes bravas which were perfect. Alex was very kind and gave us a cheese dish on him! All was delicious and service was amazing and Alex killed it.

Stopped in here for happy hour to check it out (my gf had been raving about it for a long time). I wasn’t disappointed at all! All of the small plates I tried were absolutely incredible. The service was fast even though they were quite busy. Finally, the sangria (both offerings) were nothing short of amazing. Thank you!
Alexander W — Google review
Amada is Chef Garces' iconic first restaurant. When searching for a romantic dinner location during our weekend away in Philadelphia, we searched no further than Amada. Entering the rustic industrial space one is immediately nestled in a warm and sexy ambiance. This tapas style restaurant offers a plethora of delicious bites expertly prepared and complemented by vast wine and cocktail selections . We chose The Estrella and Pain & Glory cocktails to start. The Estrella is a vodka based drink mixed with St. Germain, lemon, blueberry and finished with club soda. The P&G is a habanero tequila based drink blended with agave, lime and fresh apples. Both were a wonderful pairing with our tapas selections. We began with Gambas al Ajillo and the Bruselas Catalana. The shrimp were plump, perfectly cooked and steeped in a rich and flavorful garlic sauce that offered a slight hint of smoky heat. The Brussels were like none I have ever tried and probably the best I've ever had, and I am a frequent Brussels eater! They are enveloped in a Valdeon fondue then sprinkled with pine nuts and tart green apple. A marriage of flavors absolutely made in heaven! Last we culminated our meal with the Entrecote, a thinly sliced Wagyu Skirt Steak served with a bright and herbaceous chimichurri and a petite Salmon filet served with a Saffron Vinaigrette. The steak was beautifully marbled and the preparation highlighted the natural rich flavor of the meat. The salmon skin was seared to perfection and the filet was moist, juicy and seasoned to perfection. Overall, Amada is a MUST when in the Philly area. Chef Garces' first concept is truly first rate!! You will not be disappointed!!

What a fantastic experience! I booked Amada for Mother’s Day brunch to celebrate my wife’s first Mother’s Day, and we couldn’t have been happier. I reserved a table online and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and especially kind and helpful with our son. We started with the bread basket—highlighted by the standout olive oil cake—and enjoyed a variety of tapas. The Ensalada Verde was probably our favorite, though the croquettes were also delicious. For our mains, we had the Revulto and Crab Benedict, both packed with flavor. We couldn’t resist ordering the sangria pancakes for a sweet finish—absolutely worth it! Everything from the food to the ambience made for a truly memorable and special Mother’s Day celebration. IG: journey_man16

My husband and I had the most wonderful dinner date at this tapas restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, cozy, and romantic—perfect for a night out together. The staff was welcoming and attentive, striking the right balance between giving us space to enjoy our evening and being available whenever we needed something. The food was absolutely outstanding. Each small plate was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We ordered the chef’s selection and was pleased with every bite. We especially loved the calamari, wagyu steak and the fried pimientos which were cooked to perfection and paired so well with the wine we ordered. Sharing the different dishes made the meal feel interactive and fun, and every bite was a new highlight. What really stood out was how smoothly everything flowed, even though the restaurant was busy. The service was friendly, efficient, and made us feel like valued guests. It’s rare to find a place that combines delicious food, great service, and a romantic vibe all in one, but this restaurant delivered on every level. We left already talking about when we’ll come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable date night spot!

Takeout Restaurant
Nestled within the bustling Reading Terminal Market, Tommy DiNic’s is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic taste of Philadelphia. Since 1980, this iconic sandwich counter has been renowned for its mouthwatering roast pork sandwiches, often hailed as the unofficial sandwich of the city. Picture this: tender slices of hot roasted pork nestled in a soft bun, complemented by sharp provolone cheese and zesty broccoli rabe.
Pretty tasty roast pork sandwiches! The Sandwich was $17, which is pretty pricy, but it was quite filling. Broccoli Rabe is very bitter, so you either like it or hate it. It's something you need to build tolerance to. The sharp provolone cheese flavor was there! Eat it as soon as you get it or when you find a table, because it can get cold quickly.
Peter N — Google review
The sandwich. I had no expectations even though I have seen and heard a decent amount about this place. I always let the food speak for itself. Ordered the pork sandwich with provolone and hots. The sandwich was a decent size enough for two humans. You get a relatively good amount of pork slices pretty thin. It’s got a decent taste not really seasoned not a wow flavor - The bread was soft and chewy. Not a roll worth bragging about. The hot pepper was soggy and the provolone was 1 slice per side of the sandwich and it had a moderate strong taste. The sandwich itself is $15 add on $1 per side and $4 for a bottle of water. So prepare to spend $25 for lunch at least .I do have to say the staff is not warm and fuzzy. They are all business so please know how to order even if it’s your first time. Otherwise they seem annoyed you don’t know how. I get it. They see a lot of people in a day and customer service food industry is a tough bunch. But at least smile. I mean you are charging $17 for a sandwich. Overall it’s a good sandwich worth trying for sure. I might try a different meat next time. The brisket or roast beef might be far superior.
Sherry J — Google review
Tommy DiNic’s is one of those spots that comes up on every “must-eat” list for Reading Terminal Market, so I had to give it a try. I went for the roast pork sandwich, which I later realized wasn’t the move—most people rave about the pulled pork, and I can see why. The roast pork was fine: sliced thin, not dry at all, but also not particularly juicy or flavorful. It leaned on the leaner side, so it’s probably great if you’re looking for a lighter option. Just don’t expect a flavor bomb. The bread was solid—crusty and held up well—and I added sharp provolone and broccoli rabe. The cheese gave it a nice kick, and the rabe added some bitterness, but overall the sandwich didn’t hit as hard as I hoped. It felt like it was missing that extra oomph. That said, service was quick and the staff were super efficient despite the lunch rush. If I come back, I’ll definitely go for the pulled pork with all the fixings. Lesson learned: go with the house favorite. Worth trying, but choose wisely.
JG K — Google review
I’ve been coming to DiNic’s at Reading Terminal for close to 20 years, and this most recent visit was easily the most disappointing I’ve ever had there. I went in craving the classic pulled pork with broccoli rabe and provolone — the sandwich I’ve enjoyed countless times over the years — only to find no pulled pork available, just roast pork. I figured I’d still give it a shot, but unfortunately the sandwich simply didn’t deliver. The pork was just OK — not especially juicy or flavorful, and felt like it had been sitting around toward the end of the day. The broccoli rabe was mostly stems, missing that tender, leafy bitterness DiNic’s used to nail. The jus was average, lacking depth and richness. Presentation and service were similarly lackluster. What really sealed the disappointment was the price: $27 for one sandwich and two drinks. And on top of that, each add-on including provolone was an extra dollar — which felt excessive given the final product. For a place I’ve enthusiastically recommended to friends and family for almost two decades, this visit was a letdown. At this point, I can’t confidently recommend DiNic’s the way I used to. Maybe I caught them on an off day — but even on an off day, a Philadelphia institution should perform better than “average.” If you’re able to travel a bit further south in Philly and want to experience what a top-tier roast pork sandwich should still taste like, head to John’s Roast Pork. It remains the gold standard — juicy, balanced, loaded with flavor, and worth the trip when you’ve got the time and you’re in the area. I truly hope DiNic’s gets back to the quality and consistency that made it a legend, but as of now, the magic wasn’t there

Tommy DiNic’s came highly recommended by my coworker, and their Italian-style pulled pork sandwich did not disappoint — it’s truly out of this world. 🧆 Food: I had the Italian pulled pork with mixed peppers and provolone. The sandwich was massive, packed with outstanding flavors, and surprisingly well priced for what you get. 👥 Service: Service was insanely quick despite the nonstop crowd, and the staff was super friendly, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. 🎨 Aesthetic: Located right in the heart of Reading Terminal Market, the wrap-around counter gives you a clear view of them crafting these amazing sandwiches. It’s lively and authentic, perfect for a quick but memorable meal.

We have been on a Road trip across the US and Canada for the past 29 days. But we decided to stop today to have this sandwich, which I had back in 2012, right after Mark Weins reviewed it... and back then it was exceptional... delicious. Honestly, top 2 in my life back then. NOT today tho... the meat was tender, but not as flavored as before. The bread is heavier. And the greens are plain, unflavored. I bought 2 for my family and I, and we only ate half of 1. Did you change the recipe? Or are you not doing QC your product. I'm 5 hours away now, reason why I dont return this very expensive sandwich. I hope the owner sees this comment and addresses the issue, bc your nearest competitors are confectioning better products, while your sandwiches are famous but not great anymore... and that means losing loyal customers like me...

Now, I'm not someone who does this at all, Ever, but this morning I went to reading terminal market after a particularly challenging morning in search of some comfort food. I especially had a craving for a roast beef sandwich broccoli rabe and I looked up where I could get one, because I really have not familiarized myself with vendors there and have rarely been to RTM over the years. I found Dinic's and was looking forward to getting something there and their menu is simple and I knew what I wanted. I ordered my sandwich and when I got it, well to say I was disappointed would be an understatement if I am honest. Everything was cooked well enough, but the rabe was just too leafy and it was like it wasn't incorporated with the meat well. And well, as for the meat, I literally could barely taste it. Like just nothing, no seasoning, garlic, no OOMPH at all. Just forgettable, like I Would have had the same exact day whether or not I had bought it. It was bland and the most flavor I got came from the prov. And it was around 9:30 so there were not very many patrons yet. Maybe it's an issue of taste but I definitely regret spending 18 dollars here. The lady who served me was very sweet though.

Bassetts Ice Cream is a family-run ice cream brand that has been serving over 40 flavors of delicious ice cream for more than 160 years. Their premium vanilla flavor, made with Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans, is highly recommended as a way to judge the quality of their product. Other must-try flavors include coffee fudge truffle, matcha, and the newest addition - chocolate fudge brownie.
One of place recommended to go while I am at the Reading Terminal Market. I asked one of employee for a recommendation and he told me Salted Carmel Pretzel and either Banana or Cherry. I got Salted Carmel Pretzel and Banana. Although Banana was good to greatish, if I was to go back, I would only get Salted Carmel Pretzel for sure! If you love ice cream, must try this place when you are at Reading Terminal Market!

I bought the banana and vanilla ice cream with peanuts topping in a cup from the Bassetts Ice Cream location in the Reading Terminal Market in Philly. Ice cream is tasty and fresh. Lots of people order from this store. Service is very quick and the staffs are courteous and friendly. They also have a kiosk to place the order.

Located inside the reading terminal market is the creamiest and smoothest ice cream I’ve ever tasted. So many flavors, milk shakes, and options! Great place to go if you need a sweet treat

Bassets Ice Cream Reading Terminal 5/12 Kind customer service - they allowed us to taste things and patiently waited close to closing time. We had the vanilla bean and blueberry pomegranate flavors and both were very creamy and flavorful. They give a LOT of ice cream — I recommend sharing with someone if possible.

Had peanut butter swirl and chocolate chocolate chip. It was very good, but I do think Milk Jawn is better. Not sure this is truly worth the long line but is a good sweet treat!

Cheesesteak restaurant
Hoagie restaurant
Restaurant
Dalessandro's Steaks is a beloved local spot in Northwest Philly, serving up mouthwatering hoagies and cheesesteaks that are a hit with the community. The debate between chopped and sliced ribeye for their cheesesteak rages on, but Dalessandro's stands by their method, claiming it allows the beef to absorb the flavors of melted cheese and grilled onions perfectly.
Cash only! Otherwise, perfect. They do regular steaks or chicken “steaks”.’ Meat is very finely chopped and mixed in with cheese, making for a soft but dense sandwich and delicious. I’d suggest the mix of American and Provolone. We waited about 10 minutes to order and 15-20 for three sandwiches on a Saturday at lunchtime. Chicken steak was ok too if you can’t have beef, the steak really was better! Prices are reasonable IMO, low teens $ for most standard options.
Felix — Google review
Beef in cheese steaks is chopped finely (a few steps away from ground beef) and condiments/toppings like ketchup and peppers are on the bottomof the sandwich. Bread roll is not toasted. You might be able to request it toasted, but it's not the default. Cash only establishment, but an ATM is nearby. Orders are highlighted on the screen and it's a 20-25 minutes wait from the time your order is placed (I went on a late Sunday afternoon). American cheese whiz is mixed well with the meat. Overall 8/10.
Michelle O — Google review
The food was good. Way too much meat for me, but to each his own. The meat was tender & make sure you say "yes" to salt & pepper or you'll have a bland sandwich! The bun was nice & soft. The peppers were sweet & tender just the way I like them. The only problem I had was the cheez whiz was an extra $1 & they gave me a teaspoon of it(as you can see in the photo) which the wrapper consumed most of 🙄 lol other then that it was a great experience!
L E — Google review
Good cheesesteaks. Seeded bun is a hit. Good amount of cheese spreed really well throughout. Onions and veggie topping perfectly cooked but also still have a crunch. Not soggy. Great flavors. It was a beautiful day outside and we were with friends so the wait wasn’t bad at all but maybe if it was raining or something miserable, the line would be smaller and the wait would be more miserable. We went on a Saturday at 1:30pm in October and we waited about 20 min for four steaks. We brought a blanket and sat on the grass next to the shop. Magical. Otherwise it’s either a to go situation or you get one of the four tables available for your group. We also people go across the street to chubbies to use their tables lol staff was nice, fast, and hard workers. Very Philly MO. I would recommend.

Well, tell Alessandro’s is one of the best if not the top five in the Philadelphia region for cheesesteaks. You may want to go to others like Jim stakes on South Street and some of the other more touristy spots but for people who know this is the place to go. Avoid Gino’s and Pat stakes at all cost. You will be sorely disappointed now I’d like to provide the reasons why I gave this not five stars across the board. There is no atmosphere you are no longer permitted to go inside de Alessandro’s. It is a pick up Orit outside on the three available picnic tables that they have that is it. I had asked them about opening up the inside and they told me they have no plans to do that in the immediate future that’s kind of sad. Now the cheesesteaks I’ve had there been eating at Delasandro’s for over 20 years 25 years approximately and they were. They’ve been really good at times and other times they’ve been just average. With other popular cheesesteaks in the area and the affordability of it being so expensive because my two cheesesteaks I got were a regular cheesesteak with American mayo fried onions, and the other one was a chicken cheesesteak with cheese, whiz, and fried onions. That came to $33! Now we did have a celebrity in our midst. Ronny Chieng from the Daily show. I now go to another cheesesteak place close by my house called Verona’s and for about the same price the cheesesteaks were better flavored and seasoning. The rolls were a little bit better as well and it was just an all-around better experience. You can check out my other reviews from Verona‘s to wherever else I’ve been in the world.

First time coming here & can’t wait to be back. You wait 15-20 minutes for your cheesesteak but it’s well worth it especially for the size. My family went & we all loved our steaks! I’m more of a plain Jane cheesesteak but I loved the hot pepper relish & banana peppers.
Hayley S — Google review
Dalessandro’s was truly a great experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the visit even better. And the Philly cheesesteak? Easily the best I’ve had so far—packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and worth every bite. If you’re looking for an authentic cheesesteak in Philly, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

We’re from Charlotte & came up here for a concert. Was told this is the one and only spot to get a Philly cheesesteak from and holy crap it does not disappoint. Got the 62 special & we’re now hooked on lime Garage Beer. Ordering is quick (at the window on the right), they’ll call out your name/have it on a screen and you wait in line at the window on the left to get your food! CASH ONLY!!! Wait could be 45 min + but worth it. Don’t go anywhere else in Philly for a cheesesteak, there’s no point.

Small plates restaurant
Charlie Was A Sinner is a trendy vegan cafe and bar located in Midtown Village. The establishment offers a seductive, dimly lit atmosphere perfect for intimate conversations over strong cocktails and creative plant-based small plates. The menu features must-try items like the Charlies sliders with tomato-jalapeno jam and crisped shallots, as well as crowd-pleasers such as the potato croquettes.
Cozy, intimate, sexy interior well-matched to excellent food and cocktails. Met a friend for dinner and felt like I'd gone through a portal to another dimension. Once I figured out how to get in the front door and slipped through the velvet entrance curtain, the restaurant kept opening up. First a casual seating space, then the luscious bar, then the tightly-spaced restaurant. All lit with super low lighting to set a definite vibe. Food was fabulous - lots of veggie-friendly options. Cocktails were perfect. Great service. Wonderful visit!

I’ve only been a few times, but this is my new favorite spot. I love being able to share different plates, especially with my loved ones that don’t eat meat and/or dairy. The potato croquettes are a must every time, the empanadas are delicious, and they are generous with the sauce (love that). I look forward to trying more of their food, drinks, and desserts. Seating on the booth side is preferred, it’s easy to smack your head on the dado rail if the chair is too close to the wall on the other side.

Charlie was a sinner. Who was Charlie, why the guilt? Still a mystery, but what is not... this place is awesome. It's moody, dimly lit. The decorations give old-world charm with a modern edge. Offers small plates that are vegan. I had the grilled cheese, omg... and still surprised by the vegan part of it all. Served with style. Service was friendly, attentive- the server even helped to celebrate my half-way to 100 birthday. A great place to take a date or a few friends for an intimate night, where you feel a little fancy but still comfortable. Even visited the bathrooms, not that I needed to but to round out the whole experience. Will definitely go back to check out more of that amazing menu and the high-quality drinks. Great list of cocktails. Everything was good... Highly recommend, if you want good food, good drinks, and a fun night!

Somehow my reservation was cancelled but the staff was able to put our party of 3 outside so I appreciate the last minute accommodation. The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night. Very dark and moody inside. We ordered the meatballs, potato croquettes, korean style tofu, sliders, empanadas, and the Turkish lamb kafta. My favorite dish was the empanadas. I could’ve eaten 3 orders of them as my meal. The sauce was to die for. Everything else was pretty good. The Korean style tofu was pretty spicy and definitely my least favorite. My vegetarian parents loved the meatballs and the ricotta. We got the coconut crème brûlée for dessert which I highly recommend. We did end up being overcharged which we noticed after our card was ran but the staff was able to correct this quickly.

This place is amazing. The menu doesn't do the food justice. It's tapas style food. Everything was delicious and looked amazing. The darker quiet atmosphere is relaxing with no obnoxious music blaring. It's easy to talk to your family/friends. Literally my only complaint was our water was almost room temp but for some this would be a preference. Can't wait to return.
Stephanie B — Google review
Located in the Midtown Village, this place rocks my socks off. It's sexy interior and energy is consuming as soon as you step inside. Our server was excellent, and attentive throughout our meal. The high energy also means a very loud space. So, it was a bit difficult to hear and understand what our server was saying. I think he knew how to read lips...because he never flinched to try to understand us. I had to start my night of with a cocktail, and C'est La Vie did the trick on that. Jalapeno infused mezcal, aguardiente, Aperitivo, watermelon, lime, mint cocktail that was perfect. For appetizers we shared Charlie's Rendezvous - maverick cave-aged camembert, white bean hummus, wild mushroom pate, spiced peanuts, red grapes, Castelvetrano olives, grilled bread. Next on to the Curried sweet pea and potato empanadas. On to the Caramelized eggplant bao buns.... HOLY >>> these were good! Finally we dined on the Turkish "Lamb" Kofta - This is the point where I had to remind my partner that "this is a vegan restaurant"... he had completely forgotten that as we ate. Every item we ordered was absolutely wonderful in presentation, flavor and texture. Yet, coming from the San Francisco bay area where food is king, we could not have been more wowed. This was our final meal in Philly and it was definitely memorable. Thank you for such a great dining experience!
Greg S — Google review
My review is based on the fact that we didn’t realize it was vegan at first but also the food coming out lukewarm and cold. Drinks were great hence the 3 stars. But if you pride yourself on it being vegan and tell me I won’t even notice the difference and the foods good, make sure the carrots aren’t cold. 😂 overall place itself is cute and I would come back here for drinks but would not order the food again ! ( we went during pride and it was slammed over there)

The food was very good! But very small dishes. We had to order 2 per person. The service was great! Not a cheap place but not expensive either. It is recommended to make reservations 1 day in advance it's always crowded. We didn't make a reservation and we had to wait 15 minutes on a Sunday night.

La Colombe Coffee Roasters is a trendy cafe known for its artisanal coffee, pastries, and snacks in a stylish setting. The flagship location in Fishtown offers a palatable medium-to-dark roast served with cream and sugar in an aesthetically pleasing space adorned with hanging globe lights and coffee-themed art. While the company has expanded to various cities, its Philadelphia roots remain strong, offering comforting decor, knowledgeable staff, and an extensive selection of roasts.
I have always wanted to go to a La Colombe coffee shop in person because I love their canned lattes! It did not disappoint. The oat milk draft cold brew I got was rich and flavorful. The atmosphere was also super fun. It was really relaxing while still be trendy.

What a great find. A gorgeous ' old fashioned' coffee shop with internal tables and chairs, just a short walk form the pretty Rittenhouse Square. It was busy during the yime of my visit, with a short queue, which moved relatively quickly. Service was friendly and effiecient. I had a regular latte which was good quality coffee and was served hot. Just as a like it. Cakes and pastries were available but in managed to resist. Prices were very good for the US. All in all much better quality and value than the branded coffee chains. I'd definitely recommend and return. Thank you.

A good location close to my hotel, with decent coffee. Had seen pictures with Italian inspired ceramic mugs, which I longed to be served on, but unfortunately they are no longer being used. But the ceramic table tops added that Tuscan touch which I was looking for. Went a little after opening time, and the staff was busier catching up with their own weekend stories than with paying attention to customers’ requests. Like the self service water station which offered both sparkling and still water, with nice looking glasses. Pastries looked a little tired and the apple cinnamon scone was heavy on sugar.

La Colombe at Rittenhouse Square offers a delightful late afternoon coffee experience. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a rainy day retreat. We ordered an Americano, cappuccino, hot chocolate, banana bread, and assorted cookies. Each item was exceptional, particularly the rich flavors of the coffee and the moist banana bread. The service was attentive and friendly, enhancing our visit. Overall, it was a pleasurable experience that combined great coffee with a warm atmosphere, making it a must-visit spot in Philadelphia

I'm finally rating this spot, an all time fave. Always happening, very friendly and joyful really. The flavors are as fab as the aroma. The baristas & all staff are super nice, offer great suggestions when asked, and make my favorite macchiato. This morning was the only time I've been that's not packed, with a little wait time.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Chinatown, Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House is a delightful spot where you can savor authentic Chinese cuisine. This casual eatery specializes in hand-pulled noodles that are crafted right on-site, offering a chewy texture that elevates any dish. While you may not witness the noodle-making process firsthand, each bowl promises freshness and flavor.
I had the curry chicken dumplings and the beef brisket soup with hand drawn noodles. I enjoyed both dishes. The flavors were tasty without overpowering the taste buds. The meat was tender and flavorful. The service was good but not very fast. Luckily we were not in a rush. We found parking but had the circle the block.

Some of the seating in the restaurant is tight so I chose to sit by the front near the door. I ordered hand pulled noodles with some beef and added chili oil with hot sauce. I enjoyed my bowl couldn’t even finish it cause it was so much food. The soy egg I got I didn’t like it was rubbery and chewy. The coconut chicken dumplings were amazing. The wife liked her noodles however she did not like the texture of her chicken she preferred it be some type of shredded for soup.
Kiah J — Google review
If you have not tried hand pulled noodles, this place might be worth a visit. They have a good diverse menu that offers hand pulled noodles in a wide variety of preparation, both soup style noodles, or fried noodles. Besides the main attraction, they also have a good selection of Dim Sum, and classic Chinese dishes. Portions were large for all of their entrees/dishes. Bring a big appetite when you visit! The interior has been updated since our last visit. It seems to be more spacious. Staff is very attentive to our needs. I do believe they only take cash, but an ATM machine is available.

Amazing dumplings (recommend the sampler), scallion pancake, and hand pulled noodles. Each dumpling had a unique flavor. The scallion pancake was fried to perfection with each flaky layer standing out. The pulled noodles had the perfect amount of add-ins (vegetables, meats) and a flavor that stood out, but wasn't overpowering. Service was great from the time I sat down all the way through. It was busy, but the food came out hot and fast. Looks unassuming from the outside, which just adds to the vibe. Only note is that they only take cash or venmo, so be prepared.

Great classic noodles! This is the best noodle restaurant, in my personal beliefs, in Chinatown of Philly! I remember coming here when I was in high school. That’s how long this place has been open for! I got the knife shaved noodles with lamb, overall very good with no complaints 5/5. The cold jellyfish appetizer is good, but maybe I just had the better version my mom made, so I gotta give this one 4/5. Lastly, the tomato egg noodles my husband got was just okay. It was lacking in flavor, the noodles did not take on the flavor of the soup, 3/5. I do however recommend anyone visiting Philly to visit this restaurant, given that there’s a variety of noodles and dishes that can satisfy lots of different people. Service is impeccable.
Keeks — Google review
We are staying in Philly for the weekend and wanted a quick and easy Chinese meal. Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House was perfect! There was no wait on a Friday evening and the service was quick. Definitely the beef noodle soup is the reason to come. The broth is not too salty and the beef pieces are tender and well flavored. The stir-fry Kong xin cai (or the Chinese water spinach) was a childhood staple, so to see it on a menu as a stir fry vegetable option was such a delightful surprise! It was perfectly sautéed and seasoned with salt and garlic. We also tried the wonton in chili oil. This was an average tasting dish and I honestly wouldn’t recommend it if you love or are thinking it would be similar to the Din Tai Fung one. It could have had more sauce poured over the wonton. Also the flavor was a bit flat. Overall, still a 5-star for the beef noodle soup!
Helen L — Google review
Placed a to-go order, and it was ready quickly. The noodles were delicious and had a great chewy texture. The chicken was very tender, and the flavors were fairly typical of your average Chinese restaurant. The only shortcoming from our visit was that we received only one serving of rice, even though two dishes we ordered stated that they came with rice. Also worth noting: as of October 2025, they accept Venmo and cash.

We came last night with 4 small children and had a great meal. The service was great, the food came quickly, and everything was delicious. The kids devoured the green beans, the egg tarts. I also loved the Dan Dan noodles and the pumpkin pancakes.
Natalia C — Google review
The dim sum here was a miss for me. It still tastes like Chinese food, but having tried dim sum in many places before, I felt that the food here was lacking in flavor. They also stopped making a good portion of the dishes that they show in the photo menu. The only ones they still offer are listed in the paper ordering menu, which was disappointing because we wanted several dishes shown on the photo menu. My favorite dish would be their pork soup dumplings. The egg tarts weren’t very crispy and the pickled garlic cucumber didn’t taste as good. The cucumbers also had some numbing spice, which might not be for everyone. Overall, it’s not a restaurant I’d be craving to visit again. The staff was kind though! Decor looked nice and the restaurant was clean. They do take credit card.

Slightly above average Chinese food. It’s great for groups and sharing everything family style. My favorites were the Dan Dan noodles (super soft noodles and yummy sauce) and stewed beef and turnip. I did not like the spicy tofu fish as the fish was too fishy, and did not like the texture of the string beans, which felt like it was not cooked thoroughly, altho the taste was pretty good with the pickled vegetables on top. Other dishes were good as well, including the soup dumplings and dry pot chicken. We ordered a tequila shot but it tasted like it was diluted with 50% water. It also took a very long time for the waiters to even get us a pencil for marking the menu. But after we ordered the food came out quite quickly.

Great place to go after a night out. Three of us, one being vegan, were able to eat here and get al le carte dim sum options with the following descriptions below: -scallion pancakes: very crispy, light, slightly sweet -glazed crispy brussel sprouts: vegan friendly, very crispy and sweet tangy glaze -several veggie dumplings, crystal shrimp, and soup dumplings (my fave) -noodles (vegan friendly) -boa pork buns: soft, pillowy, tangy sweet inside, flavor/texture was good but not the best I’ve ever had Dishes came out at different times spanning from 5-25 minutes, so there may be a wait. Our waiter also forgot to place an order for the BBQ ribs we marked down on our sheet. Overall, great place for dim sum dinner.

Great dim sum as well as full meals. Indoor and outdoor seating and awesome service. The soup dumplings are souper flavorful and full! The spicy pork was delicious. Great noodle bowls and buns and oolong tea! Huge menu so multiple trips will be needed!

We had a group of 7 people today and were overall quite pleased with the service, the food, and the atmosphere. Generally, the food is good, though not everything was 100% authentic for us. We recommend the dumplings, shrimp shumais, pecking duck, and tofu skin. The hot and sour soup and the salt & pepper squid could have been better. Also, note that if you have a party of more than 5 people they automatically charge a 20% tip.

They have a really well-organized ordering setup, which I loved. The Philly cheesesteak was absolutely AMAZING. The beef shawarma platter was a bit of a letdown with some dried, chewy pieces, but the baba ghanoush, rice, and salad were decent, the sauce that comes with it was really nice. Overall, worth visiting for the cheesesteak alone!

A nice restaurant, friendly staff, and excellent fresh food. We ordered the Beef Cheesesteak, Chicken Maroosh, and Chicken Wings. They were all excellent. The chicken wings didn't have any special seasoning or flavor by themselves, but were fresh and crispy and went great with hot sauce. Having them with the garlic sauce from the Chicken Maroosh would be even better. The breads do the Cheesesteaks and Maroosh were both hot and crispy, which makes a huge difference. The portion of both sandwiches was also more than enough for one enough. It would be nice if they offered more of a variety ("Zero" calorie drinks, not just diet). Nonetheless, enjoyed the visit as always. I try to stop by here whenever I'm in Philly. Highly recommend.

The store is decorated really tastefully with verses from the Quran posted on the walls, one side of booth seating and one side of table seating. It’s clean and looks well maintained. Unfortunately, I drove a few hours from another state particularly to try the cheesesteak and it was a major disappointment. It’s a lot of oil, onion and beef- I didn’t taste anything else. There was barely any cheese. The mayo was clumped into a few areas, not spread out. It was just a bummer. The chicken sandwich was okay. Nothing to rave about. On top of that- they do not have it listed anywhere that they close in the middle of the day. There’s nothing wrong with giving employees a break, especially since it’s such a busy restaurant, but it wasn’t listed in the store hours so we arrived at the restaurant only to have to wait 30 minutes because they were closed. They are also not subtle at all about tips. Every single table has a sign so it’s clear that they expect something. If you’re in the area and want to grab a bite, it’s fine, but don’t come with high expectations.

This is the Best Philly Cheesesteak in Philadelphia rather the east coast and its Halal. The restaurant is located in a peaceful residential neighborhood. The restaurant is super clean and very well organized. The owner took our order and was very kind to give us best advice based on our preferences. We tried the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was wonderful. The size is so big that two people shared easily. The fries and onion rings are also really big and one order is enough for three people to share. They take your name when you place an order and once it’s ready they announce it on the speaker for pick up. However the lady brought the food tray to our desk. Another serving cling lady brought us napkins, plastic cutlery, and cups to our table as well. The food was absolutely amazing. The restaurant prefers payments by cash as they have additional 4% charges on card payments. The staff is also very nice. Although predominantly it’s a meat based restaurant there are some vegetarian options available as well. Free street parking is available in the area, a little tough to find during evenings though. The restaurant is fully wheelchair accessible. They also have separate restrooms for men and women at their premises. Highly Recommend this restaurant

Saad’s Halal is the best halal food in Philly. I’ve tried a lot of halal cheesesteaks around the city, and nothing comes close to Saad’s. The meat is perfectly seasoned, the bread is always fresh, and the cheesesteak is packed with flavor in every bite. The service is always quick and friendly, even when they’re busy. Every time I’m in Philly, this is my go-to stop. If you’re looking for the best halal cheesesteak in the city, this is definitely it.

It was my first time here! The cheesesteak was delicious. However, the servers were rude and didn’t inform us that we had to go to a line to order. We felt rushed, and I found a bug on a fork. We felt like a nuisance and a pest. I’ll return to taste the chicken maroosh.

Just tried a Philly cheesesteak here for the first time and it did not disappoint! The food was incredibly fresh. You can tell they use quality ingredients. On top of that, the staff were super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of those spots that makes you want to come back again soon!

Event venue
South Philadelphia Tap Room is a laid-back American beer bar located in Newbold, championing craft beer since 2003. The tavern offers an ever-rotating selection of 14 taps, cask ales, and a variety of bottled beers from local, national, and international breweries. Their menu goes beyond typical pub fare with creative snacks, sandwiches, and seasonal specials that highlight local and organic ingredients. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are also available.
I have been here several times over the years, most notably for a first date and then recently for our engagement party that I coordinated with the help of Bonnie and all of the awesome staff that were there that night. This place is a real gem and both my fiance and I genuinely hope it never closes. The food is great, drinks are tasty and reasonably priced, and it has a relaxed yet fun vibe. We will absolutely be back.

The pictures of the food don’t do it justice. Everything about this place is amazing. Super cozy and yummy neighborhood spot with a good selection of beers, including from small local breweries.

Great beers, great food and great service. Lovely selection of local beers on tap with a wider selection of cans and bottles. Great food menu. The burger and truffle fries and the Cheese Sandwich with Ham were both a hit. Staff excellent and didn't rush you. A great first meal on our 2 week US trip from the UK. 👍

Sometimes you can find extraordinary food experiences right in your own backyard. The other night inclement weather interrupted our plans. We decided to find someplace close to home. Oh what a find. The food was delicious! I had only modest expectations of my fish sandwich. It was wonderful. My husband's summer salad was also so good. And the highlight of an already great evening was a fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich! The service was gracious and informed. My husband even discovered a new favorite beer. Thank you for a great and unexpected evening!

Their website won't allow me to order take out food. They refused to take orders over the phone. Not sure why it's such an inconvenience to press a few buttons on the screen to order a burger and some wings. Mind you, I've ordered over the phone here 10+ times but now it can't be done for whatever weird made up reason. Such a shame because I loved this spot but I'll never eat here again.

I'm not a big fan of Peanut Butter and Jelly, but their Fried Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich is outstanding. I visited a couple donut shops in Philly, but the fried pb & j here left the biggest impression on me. The IPA from local brewery (Second District Brewing) was aromatic and great. The staff was nice. Great place to enjoy summer coming.

Absolutely thrilled with my recent visit to South Philadelphia Tap Room! The highlight of my meal was, without a doubt, their Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The soup was a perfect blend of tangy and creamy, with just the right amount of seasoning to elevate the fresh tomato flavor. Paired with a golden, crispy Grilled Cheese that was oozing with melty cheese goodness, it was comfort food at its finest. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff only added to the exceptional dining experience. A must-visit spot for anyone craving a classic with a gourmet twist!

Chinese restaurant
David's Mai Lai Wah is a popular late-night eatery in Philadelphia, known for its budget-friendly and tasty Chinese food. While the experience is simple and no-frills, it has been a favorite spot for post-shift restaurant workers and night owls for years. The menu offers soups, noodles, dumplings, and vegetarian options. Open until the early hours of the morning most nights, it's a go-to destination after a long night out or for satisfying late-night cravings.
I've been coming here since I was a small child and moved away in 2018 and haven't been back since, but I was back and had to get the dumplings which I dream about! and they did not disappoint! salt and pepper wings always hit and I was even given four sauce cups of their ginger sauce that drowned my dumplings wonderfully. they still do not have dine in service so you'll have to call ahead to place your order and wait for them to come and give you your food through their inside door window, but always worth it. I will continue dreaming of their dumplings and singing their praises to anyone that'll listen back home.
Jasmin K — Google review
Just a heads up this isn’t a dine-in spot. You walk in, order, and leave. It took about 25 minutes to get my food, so I highly recommend calling ahead. I ordered the sesame chicken and the salt and pepper chicken. Let me tell you the salt and pepper chicken was seasoned to perfection! If you know, you know… Black folks love some good, well-seasoned food, and this one hit the spot. Highly recommend! Now for the sesame chicken… womp womp. The sauce was super watery, bland, and the chicken was big and mushy. Honestly, I’m not even sure what I was eating. Would I go back? Probably...but only for that salt and pepper chicken. 😂
KeKe H — Google review
I grew up going to David's and was bummed when they didn't reopen the dining room after the pandemic. The last couple times I went and got takeout and it just wasn't the same - I used to get takeout sometimes too but the quality isn't what it used to be either. Such a shame.
Wil G — Google review
I been coming to china town since I was a little kid and remember eating at David’s restaurant. So I decided to go out my way to get something for dinner tonight. They are no longer seating people at the restaurant for dinner which was disappointing. ( only take out) I ordered a general toast chicken which seemed like unflavored battered chicken soup. The fried rice mediocre at best. The wonton soup was gross and the salt and pepper shrimp was disappointing as well. I spent $44 which went right in the trash. I wouldn’t recommend to waste your money eating here. Absolutely garbage!!!
Alberto G — Google review
First time been back here for years. They only have take out now . They don’t answer phone so I have to wait in line to order. After 10 min waiting they told me 20 min it will be done. ended up been 35 min. No order of who goes first or when they will let u know u food is ready. So u have to wait in line to check again . Only one small door and window. People will cut in front to order . First time I see any restaurant so cheap they packed beef ho fun in a paper box. It taste ok only because it’s drenched in oil . The dumplings was cold looked like it was frozen then deep fried again . The pick up process is just horrendous. U have to wait in line for ever time u check if your food is ready . They should have another window!!

Worst $25 Ive ever spent. I ordered from here out of fond memories. I asked for Sesame Bean Curd with extra broc and veg fried rice. Little bit pricey, but okay... Before I even looked at the food, I arrived home, grabbed the bag off my passenger seat and found a half quart of brown sauce had leaked from poor packaging into, not on, but into the entire seat, Wonderful. When I looked at my order I found mushy General Sao Tofu, not crispy bean curd. Then I realized it was just brown sauce and maybe 2 extra pieces of broc (paid for extra). I havent been able to bring myself to open the fried rice. I would rather throw it at the wall. Every bite of this was a reminder that life is hell and we all die unsatisfied. This place DOES NOT CARE. HARD PASS FOREVER.

Called in for carry out twice, moo shu beef is as good as I’ve had, chicken fried rice is average. Egg rolls are good. Lots more to try. I will be calling in an order again.

This place is AMAZING! We shared the chicken schwarma platter, grilled zucchini platter, and the lamb kabob platter and everything was just incredibly tasty! The service was fast and friendly, and the atrium in the back is super cute! I would eat here every day if I lived in Philly!

This place feels truly just like back home —the seating area gave me authentic Palestinian vibes. I ordered the falafel sandwich and it was honestly the best falafel I’ve had in Philly! The fries were also a nice different—not your usual restaurant , they came with fried onions mixed in, which added a really cool mix. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to
Yaseen G — Google review
We came here hungry and were delighted by the platter we ordered - the Mediterranean combo. There’s a pretty sunroom in the back that we got to take advantage of. I’m also glad we ordered the baklava - it was so good, I ordered more to take home. I’ll be back next time I’m in town!

I love many middle eastern and mediterranean restaurants in philly, but alyans is what I have been looking for for years. I ordered the middle eastern platter, falafel platter, chicken shawarma sandwich, and fries and couldn't be happier with the quality and value of everything I ordered. The eggplant in the combo was heavenly, and the falafel was as good as I've ever had. The staff could not have been kinder or more generous. I can't wait to try more on the menu and with food of this quality and at these prices it won't be long before I do.

Food was good! But when I pay $22 for a bbq platter I’m assuming there will be more than 3 pieces of meat.. the portions are really small compared to the price.. it’s not pricey per say, just not enough

We came here for lunch and enjoyed our meal. We sat in the back garden room with great natural lighting, which was a very cute area. We ordered the eggplant salad, mixed grill platter, lamb kebab platter, and baklava. Everything was good, and the service was quick. Overall, we had a positive experience.

I was very excited to visit this place. Regarding the food to be honest I expect it to be great since the reviews are high. However it was an average experience. Food: The mix grill didn’t taste fresh and the meat wasn’t fully cooked. Small portion of rice tasted average. The fries as well were oily and little. Service: The service was good, however it took about 20 min for our order to arrive. Great atmosphere in this place and it was decent clean.

HORRIBLE!! The place is nice & I think the employees are nice, but they were talking in different languages & I was getting a vibe that they were talking about us. The food was sooooooo bad & expensive! I got shrimp fried rice, sweet & sour shrimp & fried scallops & shrimp. The shrimp fried rice had so much egg & onion in it. The sweet & sour shrimp was so big & mushy. The sauce was good though. The salted scallops & shrimp wasn’t seasoned. Was mushy & didn’t come with the chili sauce that they advertised. The drinks are can soda, no refills. I also think they charged me $10 extra dollars for no reason. The whole place was definitely sketchy. I won’t be going back.

We had a great experience for dinner at Tai Lake. The place was full of people who ordered fresh shrimp, eel, fish, and crab for dinner. We opted for the seafood casserole and a beef with mixed vegatable dish. Both were fantastic. The casserole was full of seafood. The beef with mixed vegatables included tender slices of succulent beef. Mmm Mmm Good! Go where the locals go. Go to Tay Lake.

Good food, very nice customer service. Have all kind of special food for parties. Waiter and waitress are so friendly and checking to clean our table and exchange new dishes. I planned to eat at the New York Chinatown but it was early to have lunch there, so on the way home, we stopped by Phila Chinatown. Will come back again with friends and families whenever we go to NYC or visit Ocean City. Tram 😀🍜🍛🍲🧆

Came to this place for a dinner, I ordered sweet pork, and indeed, it was sweet a little bit too much for myself. The place looks old but clean, it has an atmosphere of an old china restaurant, the service isn't the best, the waitress barely speak English so it was difficult to ask for advice or about the food, however the portions are good and the close late, so for me isn't the best option, but if is late it might be your best option. Prices are average, so around 20us per person. Also you need yo take into consideration that there is no free parking available.

This place was packed with people and that means it's good, and it was. We had a small wait for a table. Food was rolling out to tables left and right. Quick service once you ordered. Very good food. I would come back when I'm back in Philly. No nonsense service but the food is good. Huge menu.

Seafood restaurant in Chinatown. Steamed oysters with scallions - As others have said, huge. Like big as your hand. They were ok. Not as good as having raw oysters. Fried Rice with salted fish - Ok. Nice smokey flavor. I wish there was more of the fish though. Sauteed clams with mince pork and hot chili - Good! Pan fried noodles with seafood - Very simple and straightforward dish. Stir fried pea leaves - Delicious. Favorite item we had. Food was fine. If I came back I'd definitely go for some of their very unique specialty items though. Very good service.
Fetch R — Google review
Food wise there are no concerns. But the main reason for my 3 star rating is: 1. Waiters are not friendly 2. Always standing by the side of our table and watching us made very uncomfortable 3. Even though they were watching us the whole time, no help offered while we were struggling with our lobster dish. 4. They were very keen on tip and forcing us to leave 15% of tip.. I am not a kid and i know the tipping etiquette..but pls correct your mistakes and provide comfortable service if you want better tips... Dishes we had: ginger and scallion lobster, shrimp dumpling and shrimp fried rice. Everything was OK and tasted fresh and clean

Breakfast restaurant
The Broad Street Diner, a South Philly landmark originally built in 1964, has been recently upgraded and continues to serve classic American dishes around the clock. Despite plans for redevelopment, this iconic diner remains a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Whether you're craving bacon omelets, chocolate chip pancakes, or hearty home fries, the extensive menu has something for everyone.
I eat breakfast here regularly. They have a small parking lot out front and a ramp for easy access. The breakfast is huge and excellent. Today I had a Mexican burrito flour taco filled with eggs, peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheddar cheese topped with sour cream and salsa, and home fries with onion. It was delicious. My friend had scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and French fries. It too was delicious with multi-grain bread that they call whole wheat. I am not referring to other meals, only breakfast. Philly used to have quite a few all night diners. Since Covid, so much homelessness, and crime, many diners close early.

I ha e not been here in 25 years, and it's still a great breakfast spot. Seen the best come and go. But Broad Street still stands proud to make the best diner food on Broad. My food was on point, and it was still prepared the same way from 25 years ago. With the love of Broad Street.

The food here is pretty good. I've had several dishes from breakfast to dinner and they have all been tasty. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. The only thing that kind of annoyed me was placing my order through Uber Eats. The app doesn't have everything the diner actually has. I found that there were times I had to call there to ask for certain and specific items. I continue to go there weekly.
Jerry S — Google review
Large diner with a small parking lot and plenty of seating, good for groups. Has a very old school vibe/traditional diner feel. I ordered an egg sausage sandwich with home fries and a French toast with strawberries and blueberries. Both tasted fine but were nothing special. The French toast does not come with real maple syrup. Service was also fine.

Myself and a friend visit the Broad Street dinner once in a while when in Philly. Parking is a little tricky because the lot isn't that big and a little tight, but with this being said everytime i go there i always found a spot. The dinner is a nice size place with a friendly staff. I have never had to wait to be seated. The menu offers a nice selection of breakfast, lunch and diner. Everything on the menu is priced reasonably. Positively a place to check out when in Philly. These dinners are becoming less and less in South Philly. Developers are buying these properties and making high priced apartments out of them. In my opinion there are to many over priced high rises in Philly which takes away from the uniqueness of South Philly. Check out this dinner!!!

After massage right across the street this is the perfect place to get cheap late night food. 5 stars for 5 reasons 1. The minced lamb roll is perfect! Right amount of spice and seasoning. I thought it was better than the chicken roll. 2. Super cheap about $6 for the rolls! 3. A lot of meat for what you pay 4. Fast service 5. Mango/rose lassi is on point!

Masala kitchen has many franchises in Philly. The walnut street one has good variety too and is open till late night. One recommendation is do not go there on Sat after 1 am since its just opposite the clubs and the crowd would not be good enough to go with the family. Which doesn't make the reviews go down as its just about the club. Sitting area is not fancy but good to go. Recommendation for vegetarian go for paneer one

Popped in to try a quick roll. Never had a kati roll. Ordered the chicken tawa and it was ready very quickly and nicely packaged. It was extremely tasty and filling. The price was just right. I would stop back to try something else.

American Sardine Bar…is just a bar in Point Breeze. The best things about this place is it looks cool from the street and has an attention grabbing name. I’m sorry, I don’t know how else to say it…ASB is in need of a BAR RESCUE! It’s dark inside and smells funny, like a toilet tart. I have yet to see anything on the menu to justify the price and to be perfectly honest after sitting upstairs and observing their food service in action will probably never order food there again. The sad part is there’s potential. The name alone grabbed my attention. I’d walk the neighborhood thinking “Hmmmmm, sardine bar🤔….sounds different, you’ve got my attention.” Being excited to go after a long day at work was anticlimactic, ESPECIALLY when I look at the menu and decide to walk home and eat leftovers. This is only my opinion…..which is exactly what my friends told me when I asked them about going. If you want a drink. Great! Also great if you like basic food that cost too much. I don’t mind paying for good food and service (like Insatiable down the street) but when you’re not providing an experience to justify your pricing…..well🤷🏾‍♂️
Andre K — Google review
This is such a cozy spot with great food and vibes! The wings, sauces and fries were so good! Tasty and reasonable portions for the prices. The cocktails were also good and paired well with the food. My friends went on a Wednesday evening and it was comfortable with the warm dim lights and a pleasant crowd (not to noisy or anything). The customer service was fantastic as we were seated quickly and didn't wait long for our food. Erin was our waitress and she was so sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable, especially with helping my friend navigate the menu with his dietary restrictions. Overall, this feels like your local cozy neighborhood bar and I'd definitely come back! The only thing I can't speak to is sardines which is their special (I don't eat seafood haha) but that's probably good too!

Last night I went for the first time! I got a great seat at the end of the bar where I could watch the rest of the restaurant. Very cool and relaxed atmosphere and a lot of people so clearly popular. Felt adventurous and tried the tin fish board and it was very good!!! So much better than I was expecting tin fish to taste, and some great fresh bread and sides that elevated the whole board. Delicious crisp wine and beer paired well!

Amazing place for sure! I love everything on the menu. I’ve gone here anytime a friend needs to be cheered up. Good system and nice customer service. Easy walk and sit down outside. Very safe system, heaters and beach seating. Cute backyard and lovely ambiance with the outdoor lights.

Catering food and drink supplier
Jezabel's is an Argentinian cafe located in Fitler Square, West Philadelphia, offering a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The owner, Jezabel Careaga, brings the flavors and traditions of northwestern Argentina to the menu with homemade empanadas, sweet alfajores, medialunas, and other delectable sweet and savory items. The restaurant also hosts cooking classes and special events. The food reflects the European influence on Argentinian cuisine.
Went to an an Empanada making event at Jezebel's with my daughter who is a college student in Philly. We had so much fun learning how to make traditional northwest Argentinian empanadas, and experiencing Jezebel's culinary talent and colorful tales of her upbringing. The meal that followed was outstanding. Highly recommend for a date night, girls night out, or mother/daughter experience!!

I felt it was somewhat pricey, I paid $17.60 for three small empanadas. They were very nice, but I am not sure if they were worth the price. The place is very cute and welcoming, service very personable.

The ambience is perfect and the chicken empanada I had was spectacular. Honestly one of the best danishes I’ve had in Philly. 10/10

Hidden gem! The empanadas are phenomenal!! So flavorful and delicious. The baked goods too. Came here w friends on 2 different Saturday afternoons recently. Both times I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with THE Jezabel of Jezabel’s and immediately understood why this place is so good. She is full of passion for her craft and really enjoys cooking and baking for guests to enjoy her food. There is a lot of love in these empanadas ! Hibiscus lemonade is delicious as are the croissants. This is a great spot for a takeout treat, to sit and enjoy a coffee and a sweet, to dine in, or even have large parties or meetings. The space is so unique and includes indoor and outdoor seating. I would highly recommend Jezabel’s and can’t wait to go back again !

Friendly, cool, beautiful, tasty! The coffee had cherry notes, and the chocolate alfajor de chocolate was pretty and good. I like the open kitchen near some of the dining room seats. Went May 6 '25

So I went to Jezabel's on a perfectly crisp morning, looking to get some empanadas and maybe some other baked goods. I went in there, and it had a high-end but comfortable atmosphere. There is the cafe side of the restau (restaurant for short) and a dining side of the restau. The woman up front was very welcoming and hospitable, answering all of my questions about the baked goods and the cooking classes that they host. I chose the lenteja (lentil) empanada and the Pollo (chicken empanada). In tasting both of the empanadas, I was a bit disappointed. The spicy chicken empanada wasn't really spicy, nor was it flavorful. Same for the lentil empanada. I was a little bit surprised by the lack of flavor. The meat was cooked correctly; however, for me, the chicken had a texture I wasn't used to. It was slightly rubbery, but it was still average in its taste. The very hospitable waitresses brought me a chimichurri sauce to accompany the empanadas; unfortunately, this sauce just tasted like oil. Nothing to have a foodgasm over, sadly. Now, I have only tried the empanadas. I am sure they might have some flavorful meals, or sabroso, as I like my meals, but what I had, left me wanting more... of something else. I'd say, if you are looking for mild and high-end, this would be your space. The ambience was fine, and welcoming. The waitress does her job very well. I didn't try the sweets, even though they were so tempting and looked very good.

Restaurant
La Chinesca is a Mexicali dining experience located in a renovated former Jiffy Lube station, offering a cool retro-chic atmosphere. The menu draws inspiration from Northern Mexico's Baja region and features classic Mexican dishes like tacos and carne asada fries, alongside Chinese-American bites such as egg rolls and fried wontons. The seasonal food and cocktail menus offer spicy options, making it an ideal spot for both Mexican staples and Chinese-inspired dishes.
One of the most unique and revolutionary tastes I've had... the asian x mexicali fusion dishes are absolutely amazing. Egg rolls paired with a tangy mustard and passion fruit/honey sauce was crispy and flavorful. Next favorite is the charsiu chicken tacos which kinda melted in your mouth. We also had scalion pancake, which was super rich and tasty but a bit salty and oily. Overall 10/10, music slaps, cool staff and vibe. Might have seen god after the meal.

Everyone should go here! Everything on the menu is so so good and the service/staff is so amazing. Drinks are fantastic as well. They have outdoor seating in the front and the back and often host cool events. 5 stars is well deserved.
Claire J — Google review
This is a properly hyped restaurant! The atmosphere is fun, but relaxed. The menu is curated and intentional. The service was attentive, not rushed. Every bite of food was delicious - not one bad bite. I was blown away. I went with a pescatarian friend, so I did not eat a meat dish. We ordered the wonton chips and three dips (red salsa, salsa verde and duck sauce) the chips were crispy and salty, and the dips were so well done. We ordered the tuna tostada which was a great mix of texture and flavor. The macha crisp had great spice and the tuna was delicious. We ordered the fish tacos and the avocado tacos - both different and delicious. The orders had three tacle each of small corn tortillas, the fish was lightly spicy, and the avocado was fried but refreshingly light. For drink I had their take on a dirty martini which was an elevated and interesting experience for a simple cocktail. Finally we ended with 3 church's and chocolate sauce, the churros were light and airy on the inside, crispy and sugar coated on the outside and the chocolate sauce was great quality. Altogether our meal was $55 per person and the portions were filling. I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant meeting it's very highly hyped expectation. I'll go again and you should feel compelled to try it out!

My partner had a birthday brunch at La Chinesca in the summer. We had a party of eight and brought our own dessert (lemon tiramisu). I ordered the salt and pepper squid caesar salad based on a recommendation from a friend. The salad was fantastic and big enough to share between two people! Also pictured is the churro french toast and the burrito mojado. The plated the tiramisu really well too. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, and I’m looking forward to my next visit!

I was slightly disappointed by the food, but the vibes and the drinks were SO good that I would still come back. The calamari salad was really nice textures but a little bland in taste. The short ribs were pretty dry but well sauces the carne asada was dry and the queso was burnt. The elote corn was good but the texture of the small corn was weird. The jarritos drink and mezcal signature drink were SO good and the space itself was so fun, airy, full of character.

La Chinesca is trying to bring Mexican and Chinese fusion together. They say their food is based in Mexicali, which is a city in northern Mexico with the biggest Chinese immigrant population! We got Tijuana street dog as appetizer, and let me tell you, this is a must get! The sausage was juicy in a mixture of chilis and cilantros, almost similar to the toppings of banh mi. For the two mains, we got grilled duck quesadillas which mimic Peking duck with its oyster sauce and salsa macha. I think, personally, the duck didn’t stand out and was shadowed by the sauce. The char siu tacos were a bit dry and would benefit from a salsa. On the good note, the customer service was great. They offered my puppy some water while we sat outside in the patio. I’d go back again and try other things for sure.

Absolutely mind blowing place. The ambiance and food were top notch. Ordered a handful of things and they were all good. The margaritas were also very good.

Wow! Came here for the first time and loved it- one of the best margs I have had in a while. I got the avacado taco which was phenomenal!!!! My boyfriend enjoyed the Burria taco and carnitas taco. We also loved the fried wonton chips. Everything was so good and we will be back for more. As for the atmosphere, there is a front patio as well as back patio. It was nice and shaded in the back with turf grass and comfy cushioned benches and chairs. Plenty of space back there. The service was great and the chef even gave us a complimentary taco. Will 100% be back!

The carefully crafted drinks are made with small-batch liquor and cater to various dietary preferences, including decadent vegan and vegetarian-friendly options.
A fun experience with great food, cool drinks and a great vibe. Enjoyed an early dinner on a Saturday night where we went slightly before open to secure a table for 4. We were seated at a hightop table and treated to a number of small plates and unique drinks like "Ranch water" (you just have to try it). Every single plate is great or fantastic. Simply cannot rave enough about the food. The service is exceptional: our server was attentive, friendly and just a fun part of the experience. We had a great time and will go back. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

I need this to be a chain in Jersey because this may be the best breakfast I've ever had. You know the food is yummy if you do a little happy dance after the first bite. You get such a hearty portion for the price and every dish is made so fresh with the best ingredients. The honey cinnamon latte iced was pure perfection...protip, add a splash of vanilla to it to make it all the better! And those fluffy eggs...chef's kiss! It was surprisingly packed for a Thursday morning, but not so much that we couldn't find a seat. It's a cool vibe with yummy food that you don't want to miss if you're in Philly.

Found this place on Eater and was super pumped to try it. In a cool area and super cool spot with green tile and interesting decor. Menu is vast and a full coffee bar. Our coffee was really good and came out quickly. Crunchy ice was nice. Sandwiches were good but not amazing, some weird flavors and too wet for our liking. Regardless, it was a cool place.

Good food, great drinks, and an even better vibe! We went with a big group, and the staff was super accommodating. I wasn’t too hungry that night, so I just ordered the Broiled Wellfleet Oysters and the Latkes with added trout roe (love that you can order by the piece, perfect for a light bite). Others at the table said their sandwiches were excellent too.

This place was the bomb and lives up to the hype. We’ve been following for years and finally got to stop on a drive from DC to MA. Waited in line for 40 minutes and it was worth it. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the sandwiches were amazing. We got the Pastrami Egg and Cheese, the Pancake, the Shopsin, and our son got the grilled cheese. Everything was 10/10. We hope we’ll get to come back!
Casey C — Google review
Without a doubt, this was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Everything we tried was outstanding, and it’s hard to even pick a favorite. We arrived close to 10 a.m.—the line wasn’t too long, but we still waited about 15–20 minutes to get inside, place our order, and find a table. The staff outside were very friendly and handed us menus so we could decide ahead of time. We ordered the Egg & Pastrami Sandwich, the Breakfast Burrito with Pastrami, Olivia’s Pancake, and the Latke Hash Browns. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The Egg & Pastrami Sandwich is a must-try, while the burrito was on another level—the addition of hash browns inside gave it a crunchy, flavorful twist. The hash browns on the side were also great, and my son especially loved them. Olivia’s Pancake was the perfect way to end the meal, even though we couldn’t quite finish it. We also had the house coffee, which paired nicely with everything. Service was quick, the staff were genuinely friendly, and the food was simply fantastic. We can’t wait to come back! Takeout Restaurant
Love & Honey Fried Chicken is a laid-back spot offering take-out options for delectable fried chicken, wings, and chicken sandwiches alongside classic Southern sides. Established in 2017 by Laura and Todd Lyons, this eatery has become renowned for its perfectly crunchy buttermilk fried chicken, which is brined for eight hours, coated in buttermilk and seasoned flour, deep-fried to perfection, and topped with honey.
The Nashville fried chicken sandwich was excellent—flavorful and nicely spicy, which I really enjoyed. The fried chicken/tenders were decent, though a bit too greasy for my taste. Overall, still a solid option if you’re craving fried chicken. They only do take-out, order ahead so you don’t have to wait, and be prepared because parking is brutal
KARIM E — Google review
Have you ever taken a bite out of a juicy chicken thigh only to greet your pallet with an outpouring of blood? No? Well I wish I could say the same. Unfortunately, today I received an undercooked chicken thigh from this establishment and I really don’t understand how that could have happened. Are we not using meat thermometers anymore? At home I can understand, but in an actual restaurant there is no way that it was cooked to 165 degrees Fahrenheit and then boxed up to serve to the public. I am appalled and will never order from here again. This is unacceptable. As a pregnant woman I would prefer to not get salmonella. Never. Again. I have consumed the portion of what I hit and now am Really sick and not having fetal movement. A law suit will issued if this is not eradicated.

I didn't realize they were Togo only when I got here otherwise I would've ordered online. As such I ordered at the window and had to wait. There is no seating so definitely save yourself the time and hassle and order ahead. I got the spicy chicken sandwich this go as I was walking to my next destination. The sandwich was big, crispy, spicy and perfectly tender. I had a hard time not burning my mouth trying to eat it faster than I should've. While good, this wasn't really what wanted to order. But given the no dine in option and not wanting to lug around a box of chicken and sides all over fishtown I had to *settle for the sandwich. Support black owned businesses.

First time trying this place. Picked up my order around 9pm. Food smelled amazing on the way home but food didn't match the smell. The Chicken sandwich bread was stale, so i tried the chicken alone and that was good. The Chicken tenders tasted like it was fried in burnt old oil. I think I came on a off night, based on the reviews I will try again but at a earlier time.
Shanika S — Google review
Ordered takeout from Love & Honey Fried Chicken for the first time, I’ve heard great things about their chicken. I ended up getting a kids meal, which was truly a great deal. 4 chicken tenders, tots and a side sauce for under $10. The chicken was flavored well, I wish they were crispier though. The tots stole the crispy show, they were great! I also loved the ranch. I got an oreo cookie for dessert, I’m not sure if they sent the wrong one but I didn’t taste any oreo flavor. It also seemed a little overcooked, I wasn’t a fan. I would consider coming back to try a chicken sandwich in the future!

Amazing service, Chicken tenders so flavorful, love the fact I can watch my tenders being fried through the windowwwww! Oh the Nashville tots and the sauce….. phenomenal

I've eaten at Love & Honey Fried Chicken twice and my experience was identical both visits. I've come to this conclusion: L&HFC is the most crunchy and deliciously FLAVORLESS chicken I've ever had. It's quite perplexing but it's honest. I likely won't revisit but the establishment itself is very nice!

The shop offers generous portions at an affordable price and has accommodating late-night hours. Customers praise the perfect ratio of protein to tortilla in their tacos and recommend trying the ones with pineapple for added sweetness.
The food was delicious and the team were warm and welcoming. We went at 3:15am and in ten minutes my tacos were freshly cooked. There isn’t space to sit down inside & dine - outs a grab and go spot.

Portions were big. Prices were fair. Flavors were exceptional. Atmosphere was low key. No sign, no indoor seating, just a friendly nonchalant dude behind the counter, another manning the meats, and another cleaning the floor. The vibe made me feel like we were all in on a tasty secret and we dare not acknowledge it other than with a head nod. Service was quick. 15min from order to yum. We went for lunch on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. The service, atmosphere and flavor were consistent.

Genuinely the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The establishment is hidden between other shops and a tad hard to find, but the food is authentic, fresh, and heavenly; the staff are kind and talented too. I love Insomnia Cookies so much so when I saw this location I knew I had to stop by for a quick treat after stopping at Honeygrow next door. I had gotten 2 chocolate chip cookies and they were warm and fresh, the cashier gentleman that got my cookies for me and checked me out was very nice and friendly. I will say though that the store itself is sort of cramped on the inside but hey what can you say when you’re in a city with lots of other stores and restaurants nearby.

This visit was just as delightful as ever. Their warm, late-night cookies are the perfect treat after a long day. I especially appreciate their commitment to offering vegan options, which they've had for years now. It's fantastic to see that the vegan menu has continued to expand and improve. This time, I went with the classic chocolate chip, and it was as delicious as always. Insomnia Cookies never fails to deliver both in terms of quality and customer service. These chocolate chip cookies were fine. They hand them out warm, but really aren’t anything special. They’re not BAD, but they taste like toll house cookies you could make at home. How can you not give warm cookies 5 stars? Well it cost more for cookies then it did steak sandwiches. But they were awesome. Very good chocolate. If they weren’t so expensive it would be 5 stars. They have plenty of these all over the states so you can enjoy yourself somewhere close to you.

Great sports bar with a lot of TVs (I’m surprised at how many sports bars don’t have enough)! The pretzels with beer cheese were pretty good - the pretzels were warm and buttery but the beer cheese was a bit too chunky. It got cold quickly so it clumped up. The chicken tenders and honey mustard were delicious. My friend also enjoyed their chicken sandwich, a lot of pesto on it! The bun to meat ratio was a bit off, too much bread.

We really enjoyed the drinks, food and service. The bacon cheeseburger my husband had was juicy and flavorful. My short rib grilled cheese what tender and very tasty. We asked for garlic parm.fries on the side and they were a great compliment to our meal. We will definitely be back to try some more items from the menu.

This place was great! My group was having an awful no-good day and the food, vibes, and our wonderful waitress made things so much better. I have been living in Philly for about 2 years and I have visited the bar/restaurant several times. I take friends here when they come and visit. It’s really close by and a nice spot for drinks and food. Lately the food hasn’t been the way it use to be. I Decided hey why not order from a place I have had before and know the food is good. I decided to order takeout and let’s says the food was not satisfactory. Wings were leaking in grease. Burger was under cooked when I asked for medium well. Lettuce looked and tasted off. Hopefully things get better when it comes to the food. Drinks are always amazing and staff is a 10/10!

I ordered take-out for pick-up through UberEats. I should have ordered from the restaurant directly. Something went wrong and when I arrived they hadn't started the order. I waited 30 minutes for it. I could have gotten to a restaurant closer and sat down for that. I ordered a hamburger and I liked the fries, but the burger was overdone and I didn't like the cheese or the burnt taste of the burger. I would not order from here again or go to eat there. The places was spotless but it smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals. There were happy customers and the drinks looked good, so it's probably best to get drinks.

Not a bad little spot to meet and have beers but I wouldn't go back for food. I got shrimp tacos and French fries. Does shrimp were slightly undercooked and very plain the darkness themselves collectively were kind of sloppy. Not a good presentation. The french fries look like they would have been good but for God's sakes how have restaurants not figured out how to NOT put crispy food especially french fries into containers with plastic lids and no ventilation?!! I walked one block with these french fries and they were instantly soggy from the steam. Restaurants especially this one need to realize food to go is just as important as food eaten on premise

We never would have known about this pub if not for our bartender at Andra Hem hearing that we were looking for dinner and he sent us to pub&kitchen. It has a pub feel and was a little crowded and noisy at the bar with sports on, but that died down and the eating area is nicely placed. There is a small but fabulous menu with delicious food. Service was above expectations and the food was phenomenal. Definitely more upscale food style than a regular pub. Don’t overlook the grilled pepper on the plate, they’re unique and really tasty.

Great staff, very attentive. Nice selection of alcoholic beverages at standard prices. Amazing food, done very well, far beyond average. Definitely going back.

Super chill neighborhood gastropub. I met a friend for drinks and food here. We loved the place, vibe, food, and drinks. The whiskey honey wings will make you move in! The First Kiss cocktail was tasty! The beer selection was awesome too. Service was prompt, friendly, and super helpful.

Had brunch here and the food here was very good, such a cute little place! I got a mimosa and the classic breakfast, both were pretty good. My partner got the wrangler, said it was the best cocktail he's ever had. Service was great and our waitress was very very kind. My only complaint is that the deviled egg dish seemed very small for the price, anticipated it being a bit more but oh well.

Definitely a fan of this neighborhood pub/kitchen. Came here once for a quick drink while walking to another restaurant, and they made one of the best Old Fashions I ever had. Came back formally for Happy Hour and dinner, and again made an amazing Old Fashion, so it's not a fluke. It's also on the HH menu! Service was great and easy since you can book via OpenTable. Quaint outdoor seating area that is first come first serve (no reservations). The food is above average; I definitely recommend their Deviled Eggs (though pricey even on HH). The pasta was also rather interesting but delicious. Service was great as well! Rating: 8.5/10 Pros: Reservations possible, good HH Cons: Bit pricier than I had hoped Recommendations: Definitely try the Old Fashion

Libertee Grounds is a popular spot in Philadelphia that offers a unique combination of bar, pan-Asian cuisine, and indoor mini golf. The menu features a variety of Asian-inspired dishes and an extensive selection of craft beers and cocktails. It's known for its casual atmosphere, with options for outdoor seating and board games available. While some find the mini golf to be on the pricier side, it's still a fun activity to enjoy with friends.
My husband and I hosted our wedding reception brunch at Libertee Grounds and were absolutely thrilled with our experience here. We already loved the food and atmosphere of the place, but we were so pleasantly surprised with how amazing the management and event coordinator, Kristin, was. They were so communicative and flexible with us, and did such a great job working with us when we wanted to add or change things. They truly went above and beyond in making our wedding brunch the event of our dreams! On the day of, the food was served on time, drinks were prepared quickly by the bartenders, and the service was fantastic. The decor and food were displayed beautifully, the food was delicious as always, and all of our guests had a wonderful time drinking, dancing, and playing mini-golf downstairs after brunch. I would definitely recommend hosting your event here!

The food was amazing, but unfortunately the treatment from staff was unprofessional and unacceptable at closing time. We stayed at an Air BB in the Civic building Friday and Saturday for a show at The Met. The restaurant/bar/mini golf is attached to or with inside the Civic building. Saturday morning/early afternoon we stopped by Libertee for some tacos on a special menu, i had 3 tacos and water, my girlfriend had 4 tacos and a beer. A DJ played while we ate, the music was slammin.... We got the bill, I paid it, we left, walked around the block then back to our AirBB upstairs and napped for 4 hours until we walked over to The Met. After the show we decided to stop back at Libertee and have a few beers. We arrived at 10:15 or so. We ordered a few rounds of beers..basically 4 total for each of us.....don't get me wrong, we can put them back, but in this case...i only had a few all day. Libertee closes at 12 midnight, cool.....at 11:30 pm it's about to be last call, I asked for 2 beers to close it out, he would only give me one...basically said that multiple people have seen me here all day.....I'm like, yeah...I'm staying upstairs, I've had 5 beers including those i just ordered from you all day...like, seriously..... He just tossed us the bill on the bar and snarkly said have a good night. I still tipped him, though sarcastically and in spite, but mostly because I'm not a total douche. I try my best to respect others, even though it may not be returned from the others. I don't know what his issue was, but he was clearly irritated with me as soon as we sat down. We weren't loud, only talked to ourselves and the bartender, we weren't stumbling or falling off our chairs or exhibiting any other rude or socially unacceptable behaviors, but his actions and attitude ruined the whole experience of the day.

What an awesome happy hour! We got the dim sum sampler, chicken sliders, masala nachos, and cucumbers - all were amazing! My mom got a beer and I got a gimlet. Super clean in both the restaurant and the bathrooms. We had an awesome server. Would definitely come back!

My boyfriend & I did a double date with his friends … Libertee grounds is very nice, intimate, fun. The food was very good. Golfing was super fun! Then they have darts, card games & board games as well. We definitely enjoyed each other with lots of conversation & laughs.

My husband and I hosted our wedding reception here and it was fantastic! The staff and planners made everything we wanted for our event happen and run smoothly. The food and drinks are super good here! And the mini golf and extra games are so much fun. Love the Philly themes! We also love to come here for a regular date night, great food and atmosphere!

Rented the lower level for my son’s wedding reception and Libertee Grounds did a fabulous job. The staff were kind, helpful, efficient, and just terrific. The food was great and they did an amazing job giving us options for gluten free as well as vegetarian guests. Such a fun venue to host a party - we did hire a DJ and there was even room for a dance floor. They did a great job with the room decorations as well. I can’t say enough - they were easy to work with and I would host another party there in a heartbeat. Also, I was able to include parking for my guests as part of my contract. Thank you to Ellie, Drew, Sanil, and all the wonderful staff who helped make our night so special.

Mini golf was great! Food order was wrong, never got part of it and almost was charged for the parts we didn’t get. I’d go back for more mini golfing and the bar near the mini golfing place, but definitely not for the food. Hostess was absolutely a gem and so were the bartenders. Waitress was hard to get a hold of. Also - they automatically apply a 20% tip to your order, so just an fyi because they won’t tell you.
Gracie E — Google review
Super cool local spot for food, beer, and mini golf. My food was definitely solid, however I've had hot dogs and cheeseteak eggs rolls I've more preferred elsewhere in Philly. With that said, the mini golf downstairs seemed impressive and service was attentive. Would come back for golf or a bar experience.

African restaurant
Suya Suya West African Grill is a vibrant culinary gem in Philadelphia, perfect for those eager to dive into authentic West African cuisine. Specializing in the art of grilling, this lively eatery serves up suya, a beloved Nigerian street food that showcases an array of marinated meats like chicken, beef, and lamb infused with rich spices and herbs. The menu also boasts delightful sides such as plantains, rice, and fufu for a well-rounded meal experience.
This African spot is amazing! Definitely try the Suya bowl because it’s a great deal and packed with flavor. Some of the dishes were spicy even at the lowest spice level, so watch out if you’re not big on heat. You HAVE to get the cornbread as a side. It’s seriously so good. Loved everything about this place and will definitely be back. Seems like it’s easier to dine in and let the food come out when it ready instead of ordering online.
Jordan — Google review
I ordered online, and my food arrived fresh and hot, which I really appreciated. I tried the Beef Suya (spicy) platter with plantain, cabbage, onion, and jollof rice. The jollof rice was definitely the best part it was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The beef Suya was tender with a nice texture and good spice, though I found it a bit too salty. I have a high spice tolerance, but even for me the heat built up and made it tough to finish, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone sensitive to spice. Portion-wise, I wish there had been more plantain and onion, as the serving felt small compared to the generous amount of rice. I also ordered a chicken Suya leg on the side, and in my opinion, the chicken Suya was much better than the beef.

This food is like, heaven to me! An old friend introduced it to me… It’s honestly the best food I’ve ever eaten before. The food tastes like it was made with love and care. Also, the customer service was incredible! They’re extremely friendly and helpful! PLEASE PLEASE — add additional fans or AC units for the employees. I was waiting for my food and I was sweating so much, I could only imagine what the employees must feel being.

Suya suya has some of the most consistently incredible food in philly. by chance i moved 2 blocks from them and thank goodness i did! so much flavor and the nicest employees. if you dont know what to order, their menu is very descriptive!

Located in northern liberties, so parking can be a challenge. I wanted to like this food. The price isn’t awful, but it’s not the great either. I paid about $15 for the steak bowl with jollof and plantain, and then another $4 for a meat pie. Everything was lackluster. The meat pie ingredients tasted muddled, I did enjoy the crust tho. The jollof rice flavor was mild, I wish it stood out more… as in more tomato taste, more richness… anything to resemble Nigerian jollof. The steak suya was fine… it was a bit tough, and majority of the flavor came from the sprinkled suya spice over top. The plantain was light skin and hard and they weren’t very sweet. I’ve been meaning to try the restaurant and I finally did. I’m not impressed.

Absolutely incredible food!!! The service and hospitality here is great. Now this is the first time I've had Ghanaian food and I must say this place was a hit with me. The food was flavorful, pleasing to the eye, the spice level is nice ( can adjust to taste) please please please come here you won't regret it.

This place is fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥 huge quantities that allow me to basically get 2 meals out of 1 so it’s actually a steal. And the most FRIENDLY staff. And it’s all halal!! You gotta try it - the flavor is incredible

I came about an hour before closing and ordered a shrimp suya bowl with a side of plantain and broccoli. While I loved the rice and the white sauce, the broccoli and shrimp were almost inedible. The broccoli tasted really old and mushy, and it was really over seasoned. The shrimp was cooked well but it was also heavily over seasoned so I couldn’t really enjoy it. I’d try this place again earlier in the day, maybe the quality would be better, but only the jollof rice was really up to my expectations (I’m West African)

I work in the F&B industry. This was my second time dining here. The first time I was served by a woman who way very kind & the food was great. The second time I came here, although it was 11am the doors were not unlocked. The male with glasses and baseball cap (who manages to be rude each time so far) came and unlocked the door several minutes later and then walked away. It would have been stellar customer service to apologize for opening late & open the door to your first customer of the day literally standing right there, but he didn’t do that. And then, to be ignored by him upon entering and having to wait longer than I should have once the woman working with him came out and realized he had not served me yet. Its a shame that the food is amazing & as a person who sees the value in what Real Food Eatery is doing & wants to continue to support their mission— it’s difficult to justify continuing to go here when the service was very poor. I think the staff could really benefit from some re-training in customer service and hospitality.

I don’t normally write reviews but I had such a great experience I felt the need to. I placed a catering order for my company and we didn’t quite meet the minimum of 10 people but Rob reached out to confirm and made an accommodation to still let us place our order. The Doordasher picked up the order and left it outside without ringing the doorbell or notifying and our order got stolen within just a couple of minutes. I called Real Food Eatery to see if they could help with a solution to this since this was supposed to feed a whole team. Rob called back within minutes with a solution and resent us the food within the hour. He personally gave us updates on the new order including when it was picked up and should be dropped off and followed up to ensure we received it. He also gave the new dasher clear instructions to please call and notify when getting delivered and not just left outside again. Rob really went above and beyond to accommodate us and made a stressful and disappointing situation into a smooth, stress free one. On top of the AMAZING customer service, the team really loved the food as well. Just wanted to say thank you to Rob and to everyone that helped with this situation! Will be ordering from here again :)

They gave me a free meal due to their machines going down for a while. I’ll make sure I pay them back next time I go. But I do go a lot, and it was a nice thing to do, so adding a review. The food is really good. If you’re looking for something filling, fast, healthy, and isn’t going to make you feel like junk afterward… this is it.

First time walking in. This was around lunch time and there was only one other customer. Walked up to the counter and the girl is just staring at me. I tell her the food I want and she asks me questions but is mumbling the whole time. I had to keep asking to repeat. She rolled her eyes several times. The food did not even look that great. So I had enough and just left. Went around the corner to Qdoba that was busier for a reason. Better service and the food was good.

Restaurant
Mawn is a unique restaurant with a Cambodian influence, reflecting the chef-owner's heritage and the spirit of Philadelphia. The menu features dishes like Thai crab fried rice and Mawn noodle soup, which are rich in flavor and reflect the city's freewheeling vibe. The restaurant's ambiance captures the essence of both cultures, making it a one-of-a-kind dining experience that embodies the magic of its location.
Absolutely outstanding meal. The fried crab rice was hands-down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy, rich, and packed with flavor. The beef soup was equally impressive—deep, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Service was spot-on. Our server, Dustin, was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also gave us great tips about the area. Couldn’t be happier with both the food and the hospitality. Highly recommend!

Food was delicious and came out quickly. I’m happy we went with the puck & see ($65pp) because we were served some dishes I probably wouldn’t have picked and loved. I love fish sauce and lime so this is my type of food. Shrimp- so good. Get this. Cabbage- the sauce reminded me of American Chinese flavors. The cabbage texture was perfect. Clams- I usually don’t like clams but the sauce wow Khao soi- we requested this to be part of our meal and it was actually the least memorable for me. Solid dish Fried rice- yum. Feeling quite full by the time this came out Funnel cake- I didn’t know funnel cake could taste this good. Love I hope to go back and try other dishes.

Their food is amazingly delicious!!! My husband had to make dinner reservations 2 months ahead! He literally wait on the dot and make the booking and a minute later, he said all booked up. The restaurant itself isn’t big at all so there are limited seatings. But this is definitely worth a try! We ordered the Arianna agua freca drink. At first we ordered one to share, but it was refreshing and good to sip while eating their spicy dish, we ended up ordering another one! We had their special starters that I don’t think it was on their menu. It is raw scallops with bell peppers and pumpkin seeds in their homemade mild spicy and lime sauce. Delicious! We had 2 entrees to share. We tried the All star seafood fried rice and the Khao soi noodle. The uni and other seafood in the fried rice was fresh and meaty. The Khao soi came out looking like a soup base noodle but after mixing it, it’s a very saucy noodle! We mixed a little of our starter sauce into this noodle to give it a little lime taste, which tastes even better. Both the fried rice and the noodle were just unbelievably good. Nothing disappointing at all! I think if we ever return to try out other dishes, we won’t be disappointed for sure. The staffs were all very friendly and welcoming! Great atmosphere. The only problem is the tables are very close to each other due to the small space they have, which means you can pretty much hear each other’s conversations. I think that’s the only down side. And also, if you have a large group, you definitely need special accommodation from them.
Cathy ( — Google review
Our first meal here in May 2025 was excellent. Incredible flavors, interesting textures, beautiful presentation. The atmosphere was lovely and lively, and the hospitality was great (when you could actually flag someone down, so that piece could use some refining). We’re so proud to have yet another interesting and innovative restaurant gets such local national recognition, just wish more Philly residents had the chance to experience it! Can’t wait to come back someday.

I hope I have some better pictures, because by the time I remember to take some photos, the food was half gone. This should tell you how good they are. The serve is great. The appetizers are amazing. Totally with the hype!

Incredible service. The staff was amazing and happy to share their thoughts on the menu and make magic happen. The all star seafood rice was the best seafood rice dish I've ever had and the funnel cake was also the best I've ever had. I feel like the Puck and See tasting menu was a fantastic value, however, a lot of the dishes go very heavy on the lemongrass flavor which can overwhelm your palate at times.

The reservation is worth the fight! Our group of 7 had the pleasure of trying the Chef’s tasting menu — which was SO much food!! We all felt like we got to try a little bit of everything on the menu :) Everything was so good that we could not pick a favorite dish. Shout out to the Chef for his recent James Beard Award & for his colorful, flavorful, unique menu. Last, but not least, shout out to all of the Mawn staff that took care of us last night!! So friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful :)

- Service: Really friend and attentive. They're knowledgeable and gave such detailed explanation for every dish coming out. - Ambiance: Clean, nice, and cozy. Could be a bit tight since it's not too spacious. - Food: We went for Puck and See. You'll have three starters, one plate, one noodles dish, and one dessert. We started with our drinks first : Arianna Agua Fresca - sweet, citrusy, and having such a nice taste of melon, Sugar Palm Flower Tea - not too sweet, refreshing, and reminding me of chamomile tea. - Burmese Ginger & Melon Salad: Refreshing and flavorful. It has such a nice balance between sweet of the fruit and saltiness from the dressing. - Prohok dip: To me, it's like a thick curry with very nice blend of spice, sweetness, and saltiness from the prohok. You have it with cold cabbage which makes everything so perfect. - Head on soft shell shrimps: INCREDIBLE. You should squeeze a bit of lime juice on top of the shrimps, have every bite with a Thai Basil leaf to increase the flavor. Slightly crispy shrimp head exploding with the fish sauce caramel. You can eat the whole shrimp from head to tail. - Khao Soi: We start getting full at this point. One of the most popular noodles dish here at Mawn. To me, it's alright but I'm not a big fan of curry so that's why. My boyfriend who loves curry really likes this dish. - Steak & Prahok: So tender and flavorful. The sauce on the day we dined in was a bit different. It's pretty citrusy, tangy, and salty. It went so well with the steak, coming with a bowl of white rice. I really love this dish and wish I could have more room to finish it. - Jasmin Rice Pudding: A light dessert to end the meal. There's condensed coconut milk with the jasmine rice and a bit of banana, topping up with coconut whipped cream and lime zest. Perfect dessert and left us happy. - $150 ish before tips for two tasting menu, which is such a delightful experience for us. I would say it's worth it. We were so lucky to have the reservation here since I know it's now just getting harder and harder to get one because the owner just got a James Beard Award. Highly recommend Mawn to everyone and good luck on getting a reservation!

Alice is a new American restaurant that offers an incredible dining experience. The menu features fresh and fantastic food with a seasonal rotation, and it's recommended to order 2 or 3 small plates per person along with an entree. While the place may not be kid-friendly due to its smaller size, the flavors of the dishes are worth it.
Delicious. I’ve been in Philly for almost 20 years and this is one of the best meals I’ve had. Drinks were delicious especially the Gin based ones. 5 small plates a side and a main was perfect for two. Great staff as well. Will be back.

We had a lovely time at Alice for date night. Our server was very friendly and gave us great suggestions. Delicious mocktails. The food is on the pricier side but the atmosphere and overall vibe made it a real experience that was worth the money. The whole bronzino was generous and more than enough for two with a couple of small plates. The highlight was the coal-roasted oysters. Herby, tender, and delicious. All of the food was incredibly fresh and good quality. We will definitely be back!

Alice is a charming corner restaurant in South Philly with a vast menu! My mom and I were able to snag 2 bar seats at 7pm on a Friday. The hosts and bartenders were accommodating and friendly. We started with the coal roasted oysters. The flavor was immaculate - the added lemon + hot sauce was the perfect bite. Our only gripe was how small the oysters were, they were tiny. 4 for $21. Then, we had the green salad with grilled artichokes. This was on the more tart side, but still delicious. A lot of different textures which kept each bite interesting. We split the wagyu burger and fries. They give you a HUGE portion of fries and they were golden brown and crispy. However, they were extremely salty… and I’m a salt lover. My mom found them inedible. The burger was great. The caramelized onions added such a nice sweetness amidst the salty burger and bun. Overall, we enjoyed our meal for the most part. We especially loved the ambiance, perfect for a date night. It just feels inviting. We definitely want to come back to try other items as the menu has such variety to it!

In early April, my husband and I had an outstanding meal at Alice for our anniversary. However, I was sitting in position where I could see the pass. The woman who was working the pass wore an "Alice" t-shirt - I suspect it could have been Alice. I watched her walk behind the counter and stand next to a female chef who was placing french fries into a cylinder for a customer. She then reached over and took a french fry from the cylinder and proceeded to eat it while talking to the chef. She then walked around the counter picked up the order of french fries took two french fries out of the cylinder place them on a plate for herself before delivering them to three girls at the bar. It was such beautiful dinner but this really turned me off. I tried to contact the restaurant directly but got no response. I am writing an excellent review because the food was fantastic as was the service. And I will return. But please refrain from this behavior in the future.

An absolutely delightful experience with Ricardo, our waiter – but let’s not forget the fantastic kitchen and bar, and service staff, too. We very much enjoyed the tasteful, compact dining room and bar. We had the latke, roasted oysters, sunchoke salad, and the hamachi crudo, all fantastic. The cocktails were uniformly excellent, including an ad hoc request to re-nature their excellent NA cocktail of quince, lemon and tonic. Dessert was an amazing chocolate caramel tart with coffee-toffee ice cream augmented with one of their fine amaro selections. Superb!

Pop's Bun Shop, a delightful husband-and-wife venture nestled in Bella Vista, is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth or craving comfort food. Open only on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm, this charming spot has become a local favorite. Patrons often find themselves indulging in pillowy buns adorned with sugary icing or luscious blueberry compote for breakfast and returning later for savory kolaches filled with egg or sausage gravy.
Got the last lemon bun of the day, it was warm and soft, with very flavorful lemon filling. Had such a blast, that we went back for the chutney buns, which are also devine. The owners are also super friendly! 10/10

Note: Limited hours (Thursday-Saturday from 9 AM - 1 PM) We came across Pop’s Bun Shop when they were close to closing (around 12 PM) and they had run out of most of their popular buns. We tried the cinnamon and lemon curd buns. Both were delicious, light, and not too sweet! The lady serving us was very friendly and helped answer all our questions. No seating - just queue at the window to order.
Michelle T — Google review
We got the cinnamon roll, the sticky bun, and the raspberry and lemon curd kolache. The cinnamon was absolutely divine. The frosting tasted amazing and was perfectly sweet and creamy. The lemon flavor of the filling was perfect, but the pastry as a whole would be better if it was spread across the entire top because the outside is just dough. Same for the raspberry kolache. The sticky bun with nuts was also great. If I were to come back it would definitely be for the cinnamon roll.

After weeks of seeing the lines at Pop's, we got to devour 2 of their delicious bun varieties. Their cinnamon roll and sticky bun with nuts were the best we've ever tasted! We followed their tip to heat the buns in the microwave for 20 seconds right before eating. The warmth makesthe buns melt in your mouth. Their prices are reasonable and they take cash or cards for payment. It's takeout only. They are now open Thursday-Saturday 9am til 1pm or they run out. The owners explained that they need the week days to prep and have the dough develop. We are looking forward to trying their savory bun varieties next time

Waited about 35 minutes but totally worth it. We ate our pastries in the Di Bruno’s Piazza. My only wish is that they would pack napkins with the goods but besides that everything was perfection!
Jenna A — Google review
The freshly baked lemon curd was a heart melting delight. We also got two sausage gravy kolache and a pecan sticky bun — we loved everything!! The sweet ones are all on the milder side and not overly sugary, which we loved! The lady who took our order was so sweet and friendly too. Great find in Philly!

Mi Pueblito Tacos is a popular food truck known for its cash-only, beef-only tacos that are available on weekends and Taco Tuesday. It's located about 40 minutes away from the city and has garnered a loyal following for its delicious queso birria tacos. Despite occasional delays in setting up, customers appreciate the flavorful and generously stuffed beef tacos, although some have noted that the extra cheese they paid for was not as much as expected.
This food truck is down the street from me, which is dangerous. Their birria tacos are THE BEST I've ever had, ever. And I have tried a lot all over Philly and elsewhere but this spot it authentic and sooooo delicious. You get your money's worth. I give them 10/10 for delicious, fresh food. Can take a little while for your food to be prepared if there's a wait, but I prefer they take their time as opposed to having the tacos made and sitting. That leaves for them to get soggy and cold. I have never had a cold or soggy taco. Always hot with a crunch, and so fresh. I would consider hiring them for an event if they ever offered that as a service.
Lizandra B — Google review
The truck is 40 minutes from me so I got there at 3:00pm on the dot on Tuesday. The truck was not there. I checked their Instagram for maybe an update but there wasn't one. I sat and waited in the car. (Btw there's a free parking lot and plenty free street parking). They finally arrived at 3:15pm and setup at 3:20pm. People lined up so fast. They took the first 5 orders then made them. I didn't have my order taken until 3:45pm. The lady taking orders was kind and sweet. She made sure I knew what I ordered so there were no mix ups. I ordered the Chicken Birria tacos & cantaloupe juice. 3 tacos are $15 and 1 juice is $5. They only take cash so come prepared. I didn't see an ATM around. I finally received my order at 4:05pm. I didn't eat it until I got home. The tacos were still crunchy and flavorful! 3 tacos comes with consume sauce to dip, onions, 1 jalapeno pepper and a side of spicy sauce (IDK what it was). I would recommend that they premade maybe 10 or 20 sets of tacos that way they will get their line down quicker. I understand things happen so there's a lot of reasons why they may have been late to open. But, I have seen other complaints on their Instagram of them not being there on time. At least post letting customers know that you will be there later. Other than that I would definitely recommend anyone to try their tacos if you are in the area. But if you're further away like me and want to go to pick up lunch "real quick," it won't be real quick! You're better off finding Birria tacos at a Mexican truck near you. I'm glad I tried them and had the time to wait!
Chrissy L — Google review
I was told by a co worker about this truck and have been stalking the social media page for about 2 months now. Yesterday I finally went and I am disappointed to say the food was tasteless, lacked any flavor whatsoever. Everything else was PERFECT! The fact hat they are only open two days a week, the time, location, ect. It's all GREAT MARKETING; however I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes in that line and for my food to have less taste lane the sidewalk is CRAZY! God bless but I couldn't do it again!
Rasheed B — Google review
Great Birria tacos and Quesabirria with consume. Worth the wait. The juice choices however were not my favorites, could've been sweeter. But great places to try for taco lovers like myself. 2 hour wait though.
Britney H — Google review
I’ve been in a birria taco hunt for a while and I finally found good ones! The tacos are delicious and STUFFED with flavorful beef. I have only one tiny little complaint. I paid for extra cheese and there was very little cheese in the tacos. This did not ruin it for me however, i still enjoyed their food very much.
Oriana B — Google review
These are the best tacos ever! Flavorful, juicy and the like the crispy edges of the tortilla shells. Yummy! My only complaint is that they only open Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.
Katisha J — Google review
The tacos and drinks are pretty good, however the wait time is out of control. I have been there twice and both times waited 3h, by the time you finally get the food you are so starving that I am not sure they tasted good because they are really very good or because I was willing to eat dirt at that point lol. If they improved the service and shortened wait times I would rate 5/5
Elena C — Google review
2/13/22...One of my greatest joys is having a queso birria taco from this food truck. Delicious as always. Thank you for being there, your hard work and I think, most delicious tacos! 2/5/22 My husband surprised me with one of my favorite birria tacos. So very good, a must try if you haven't had them. Birria tacos are new to me. I think these tacos are delicious! I have waited in line at least 4 times to purchase them and they are worth the wait. I try and get an extra set to have for the next day. I have JL Jupiter to thank. I saw his video on them and knew I had to try them.

Original Ricci's Hoagies is a Philadelphia establishment known for its delicious hoagies, which are traditional Italian sandwiches filled with ham, salami, cheese, pickled peppers, and Italian seasoning. The shop is famous for using the freshest ingredients and providing excellent customer service. Customers have praised the friendly staff and the generous portions of their hoagies served on fresh and crispy seeded Italian rolls. The place is described as spotlessly clean and embodies the essence of a local business in Philly.
We stopped here for an early lunch. Love that they slice the deli meat right in front of you. The shop was very clean and felt homey even with its ceiling being very high. They had hot and cold sandwiches, chips, tons of drinks, pasta salad, cole slaw, and more. The rolls were so fresh and a small hoagie for $9 is a steal. The small hoagie is very filling.
Candace M — Google review
Was craving a chicken cutlet hoagie, so I stopped in. I wouldn’t consider what I got to be cutlets, they were more like chicken tenders. They weren’t thin or golden brown, the way I prefer. They were under seasoned too. It felt like a wawa chicken tender hoagie. The bread was decent, love a seeded roll. Service was ok and atmosphere is what you’d expect. Overall, I don’t think I’d come back.
Ariana L — Google review
Philly is my home city, I haven’t been here in a long time. My goal was to get a great cheesesteak and a great hoagie. I did my research and tried Ricci’s. Friendly greeting, got advice at the counter that guided me to an excellent hoagie. When they saw I gave them a tip, the cashier called out- she took care of us. And everyone in there said thank you. I like that practice and love this sandwich shop. High quality, assembled with care and individualized. I also saw some of Phillies finest come and get lunch. That’s a great sign to me. Thx!

I stopped in today for lunch with a colleague. There was a decent-sized line that almost deterred us from ordering, but with a TV playing sports, we decided to wait it out. To our surprise, the line moved fast! Both of our hoagies were delicious—generously filled, and the seeded Italian rolls were fresh and crisp. We will definitely be back again Monday!
David M — Google review
Decent sandwich one of the softest hoagie rolls I’ve ever had in my life. The meat was also tasty and sliced thin, almost shaved, just how I like it. Would definitely go again

I ordered on Tuesday 7:30pm June 24 -2025 I ordered one small turkey hoagie and one large turkey Hoagie they both came they both were the same size small and of course I didn’t get tomatoes this was my first time ordering from this location. I usually order from the other location, but I decided to give this location a try ..I won’t come to this location Or order anything from here again …train your people to start doing the right thing How do you charge me for a large ? And give me a smal? Then on top of that Forgot my tomatoes! Don’t ask me to give you another try or any of that I don’t care about free nothing or given another try This is my money I spent on something that I didn’t get But still paid for the same amount !

Just left the store and was amazed as soon as I walked in the door and smelled how fresh everything smelled. The store is clean the sandwiches look delicious. I had the pleasure of speaking with one of the owners who was funny and had a great personality. This is definatly a place you want to come to over and over again.
Sadeka W — Google review
Went into the shop and these guys were so nice! Gave me two fresh loaves of bread and a bag of chips on the house. The place has some of the freshest ingredients in Philly! I ordered an old fashioned and had no sauce and this Hoagie is easily one of the best I’ve had. This is what I imagine when someone says local business in Philly. They need more signage out front though because everyone should experience this place! Owner seemed so nice too! Place looked spotless clean. I know you might see that other review but let me tell you if she had actually went into the business she would have had a DIFFERENT experience. Hate to see a review that could have been solved with the owner and arguably has nothing to do with the business. This place is a GEM and I’m sure the guys inside would have corrected a wrong if talked to!

Liberty Kitchen West, a new addition to the Philadelphia food scene, offers a delightful culinary experience. Chef Matt Budenstein's dedication to perfecting the tomato pie has resulted in a unique creation influenced by various renowned recipes. The hoagies are highly recommended, with options like Turkey Pesto and Italian delighting visitors. The establishment also serves grain bowls that have received high praise.
I enjoyed an awesome lunch at Liberty Kitchen with a bonus of beers from Two Locals. We loved the hoagie sandwiches, the Turkey Pesto and the Italian. My wife had one of the grain bowls and loooooved it. We also had to try the tomato pie. Definitely recommended for a casual lunch!

Liberty Kitchen West is an absolute gem. The food is fantastic (especially the Tomato Pie) and it’s got great vibes with games, music, and a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere. Being inside Two Locals Brewing is a huge plus because you can grab a great beer, hang out, and actually enjoy Liberty Kitchen without the crazy Fishtown lines. Plus, it’s right by an El stop, making it super convenient. Perfect for a quick bite or a fun spot with friends and family. Cant wait to come again!

Had some brews from two locals "excellent" got an epic turkey pesto hoagie. Very good. The guy with the mustache was super cool.

The best hoagies and tomato pie make their way over to West Philly.. and with beers too?! Love the salumeria hoagies and the new collab menu additions are tasty too. Big, new brewery with plenty of seating and great new snack items to pair with a beer. Will be back!
Valentina H — Google review
Tucked away but just as good as OG spot, and more seating. Roast pork can go toe to toe with any of the “best” in the city. Italian and meatball are A+ too. One stop shop when the beer spot is open too.

I had the Roast Pork sandwich. Braised pork shoulder, provolone, Chianti spread, long hot relish, broccoli rabe. Might be the BEST roast pork sandwich I’ve EVER had, and I’ve had em all. Definitely recommend.
