Giovanni's Shrimp Truck is a must-visit foodie destination on Oahu's North Shore. The graffiti-decorated pit stop offers a variety of shrimp plates and even a garlic hot dog option. One of the most popular menu items is the SCAMPI, known for its strong garlic flavor. While it may be touristy, Giovanni's lives up to the hype with its delicious offerings.
Even though we went after lunchtime, there were still a lot of people. At the entrance of the parking lot, an older man collected a $2 parking fee. After parking, we waited about 30 minutes before ordering. We tried their two most popular dishes: Garlic Shrimp and Butter Shrimp—both were delicious! Some visitors were even buying T-shirts and getting the owner’s signature on them. They accept credit cards, which was convenient. It started to rain lightly, but it wasn’t heavy, so we were fine eating outdoors. Even on a weekday, the area was busy with cars since it’s part of a historic district. Expect some traffic when visiting, but it’s definitely worth the stop!

**Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck – A Shrimp Lover’s Stop, But With Room for Improvement** We visited Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck after reading great online reviews. Upon arrival, we found a bustling area filled with several food and drink trucks. Parking is available for $2. At Giovanni’s, we ordered both the **Hot & Spicy Shrimp** and **Scampi Shrimp**. While the portions were okay, we felt the pricing was a bit high for the simplicity of the ingredients, and less butter would have improved the dish. We love food trucks, and a casual setting and atmosphere is expected, but this setting was further than casual—especially in the hot Oahu weather. The dining area was uninviting, with relentless flies and assertive wild chickens imposing themselves on tables. Seating was limited, so standing to eat was sometimes necessary. Additionally, the ordering system—simply yelling out numbers—could be refined to improve the customer experience. While the staff was friendly, there is room for improvement in enhancing the overall customer experience. Adjustments to the dining space, ordering system, and general atmosphere could make this popular spot more enjoyable for visitors. Giovanni’s has built a strong reputation, and shrimp lovers may still appreciate the flavors, but given the current conditions, we wouldn’t return. That said, we’re glad we gave it a try.
Ana B — Google review
Food and service were amazing. I’m not usually a big food truck guy, but the scampi was fantastic with the rice and hot sauce. And speaking of that hot sauce—it’s hot! Definitely get it on the side. It’s spicy but also really flavorful. As for the atmosphere, you’re eating outside, so the roosters and pigeons will definitely want a little something too. We had to shoo them away from our plates. Portions were generous, flavors were spot on, and now I see why this food truck comes so highly recommended.
Shannon D — Google review
The line is long but moves super quick. Food comes out quick too. We got the shrimp scampi. The shrimp was cooked nicely and it was super garlicky (in a good way). Loved it! Better than some of the shrimp in the nice restaurants! There are other food trucks in the same area if not everyone wants shrimp or hot dog. There is shaded seating which is nice.
Sara H — Google review
Pros: had to try the first ever shrimp truck in the north shore est 1993! Surprisingly the famous garlic scampi shrimp was not my fave- it was their hot and spicy! I think the gerd inducing big wave shrimp truck is my favorite garlic butter version. but the spicy and tangy (would rate 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️) is definitely worth a try because the sauce is really unique. Prepare to wait a bit -think it's made to order- I waited about 30m. The parking attendant at the front was so nice- I didn't have cash and he let me park just to pick up our order (we didn't stay and eat and it was a slower time of day around 330 pm, otherwise I think he would have to turn me away). So bring cash! Cons: rice was super mushy! Maybe just a bad day with the rice cooker 😂
Anna C — Google review
This spot is hands down the best garlic shrimp truck around! I haven’t tried every shrimp truck in Hawaii, but this is my second time visiting the islands and I always make sure to come here. I even tried to cook garlic shrimp at home after coming back to the mainland, but it’s just not the same. Wish I had this place near where I live!
WOOCHIKA — Google review
We were told this is a “must eat” when going to north shore. I was super disappointed with it. Very hard to park. Super crowded and waaaaaaay over hyped in my opinion. Took a while to get our plate. And then I spent more time peeling the shrimp than eating it. And honestly it was not that great. I would look for another truck with easier access and less crowd to be able to enjoy it more.

One friend met yesterday recommended this place to me. Just went pass there and bought a most popular one dish. Surprised!

Big Wave Shrimp Truck is a popular food truck in Haleiwa, known for its delicious shrimp-based plate lunches. The truck features outdoor picnic tables where customers can enjoy their meals. With a cartoon surfing shrimp logo, it has gained recognition as one of the best shrimp trucks, even being featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The menu offers various shrimp dishes such as coconut, lemon pepper, garlic and crunchy options.
Great shrimp, large portions, friendly staff & quick service! We usually share plates when we go out, but my family loves seafood so we each got our own plates. We tried the lemon pepper, garlic butter & spicy shrimp, my personal favorite was the lemon pepper. The picnic tables were perfect and there is a sink to wash your hands in before leaving. Would come back for sure!
Amanda M — Google review
One of the best shrimp trucks on the North Shore. There is plenty of outdoor seating and a separate parking lot as well. My wife got the lemon pepper shrimp and I got the garlic butter shrimp. Both dishes were great and the lemon pepper was my favorite. I like the wedge of pineapple. The portion sizes were huge as well for the price. Service at the truck was quick and efficient. I recommend this shrimp truck on the North Shore. Definitely worth a stop!
Tuan N — Google review
There is a reason why this food truck is in the top 25 of the nation. The garlic butter shrimp were amazing. Even the shell was delicious. The salad included with it was fresh and crisp and the ranch dressing was perfect.
Larry H — Google review
Hands down must go-to spot if you’re visiting!! Kid you not one of the BEST shrimp plates I’ve ever devoured. Much Mahalo! 🌺 - Also, I’m not one to eat the shell on shrimp but was very tempted. I definitely cleaned those shells clean. Busssss’n! 🤙🏽😝😎
Anna H — Google review
Big Wave Shrimp Truck is a fantastic alternative to Giovanni’s! Although I was a loyal customer of the other shrimp truck, they’ve increased their prices and reduced the quantity of food. In contrast, Big Wave offers exceptional service, clean tables, and incredibly delicious shrimp! I opted for the half spicy and half garlic butter plate, which comes with two generous scoops of rice, a fresh salad, and a juicy slice of pineapple.
Scott A — Google review
It was delicious and fast! The garlic on the shrimp was so good. Actually eating it with the rice was my favorite part! I was surprised by the shells on more than just the tails of the garlic shrimp. Still tasty.
Sarah S — Google review
Tried Big Wave Garlic Shrimp and it did not disappoint! The shrimp were juicy, flavorful, and packed with garlicky goodness 🧄🦐 The portion was generous and the rice was perfectly cooked. One of the best shrimp plates I’ve had in Hawaii — totally worth the stop!
Eva J — Google review
Husband and I got the famous garlic butter shrimp to share and were very pleased. The portions are generous and we love that they really layer on the garlic. So delicious! There’s plenty of seating with umbrellas. There’s free parking. It’s located on the same land as many other food trucks, making it a quick stop. Would recommend skipping the Giovanni’s line and going here instead.

Romy's Kahuku Prawns & Shrimp Hut is a popular roadside stand known for its fried and steamed platters of local shrimp and prawns, offering unique sauces to complement the dishes. The shack is famous for using locally farm-raised fresh shrimp harvested right behind the establishment. Honolulu Magazine compared Romy's with other major contenders and found their shrimp to have the best texture and overall flavor.
If you’re looking for the best shrimp on this side of the island, look no further than Romy’s Kahuku Prawns and Shrimp. There are a couple of food trucks and shrimp stands nearby, but Romy’s truly stands out in every way. The shrimp here is unbelievably fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — you can taste the difference immediately. It’s caught right here in their own ponds, so it doesn’t get any fresher than this. I ordered the garlic butter shrimp, and it was absolutely amazing — the sauce was rich, garlicky, and perfectly balanced with a touch of spice. The shrimp were large, juicy, and full of flavor. The rice and dipping sauce complemented the dish perfectly. Everything felt like it was made with care and attention to detail. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size you get, especially compared to other food trucks in the area. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the overall vibe is relaxed and local. There might be a bit of a wait depending on when you go, but trust me — it’s worth every minute. If you’re exploring the North Shore, make sure Romy’s is on your list. It’s a true island gem and hands-down my favorite shrimp spot in Hawaii. Highly recommend!

If you enjoy outdoor dining, This is a Food truck with picnic tables. It was windy and of course there were flies. Wait was a little long, about 30 mins and it wasn’t busy. The fried sun fish was good. They didn’t have any diet sodas. If you’re sharing food, you have to pay for extra plates. Inconveniently there are no restrooms available. It’s okay for a quick bite and If you have a craving for shrimps.
Marilyn — Google review
We ordered No.4&5. Sadly sold out No.6 prawns. The shrimps are fresh and could taste sweet even not adding any sauce.
Jessica L — Google review
The original romys lost their lease after 30 yrs. This is there new location. About 1 mile from original. This is a food truck. Unlike previous place it has no bathrooms and no sinks or ability to wash your hands. I much preferred the previous place. I hope they can add bathrooms and sinks to this location otherwise I will probably go to Ted's or the Sugarmill food trucks instead.
Phil J — Google review
They have very good food, but the service is not too good, we drove 1 hour to reach them. They didn't give you bags or empty boxes for leftovers, they don't have bathrooms , you need to drive to a public beach to use a bathroom. So if you go, you must have wipes to clean your hand before and after eating because it is a mess to eat it but we don't mind for the yummy food :) Also have extra empty bags and box if you would like to take an extra food or left over. It is a good truck not a restaurant just to know. Call to be sure they are open before you go.
Hiba H — Google review
Was really let down as this was my 1st shrimp shack experience. We got the deep fried shrimp. They were wrapped in what seemed to be won ton wrapping. They were way over cooked to the point they weren’t good. Our friend garlic shrimp were better with copious amounts of crispy garlic everywhere. Wish we could’ve gotten those but wasn’t in the mood to peel the shrimp as stupid island politics forbade them from having ANY type of bathrooms or running water for cleanliness!!!!! Beautiful setting though but dissatisfied in general . Expensive too
Doug B — Google review
There’s no handwashing station, just a porta potty, which is a letdown. They don’t accept cash and tack on a 3% fee for card payments. I’ve been here about four times, once a year with family, always hearing Romy’s is the go-to spot for shrimp, but I’ve left disappointed every visit. Even on a slow day this time, the shrimp was overcooked, and the sauces were bland—only the garlic butter stood out. The dip portions keep shrinking, and this time we had to pay an extra $1 for more, plus the 3% fee since cash isn’t an option. To top it off, prices online are misleading, listed at $12.75 but jumping to $20.75 in person. That was the final straw—I’ll drive past this place on future road trips to this side of the island.
QuickQuickie ( — Google review
Delicious shrimp! It’s definitely worth the drive out to this truck. We were told to come here upon recommendation of our photographer who is local to Oahu. She said they have the best shrimp in the north shore. She wasn’t wrong! The shrimp/prawns are huge and super flavourful. I love that they have the heads on. The crispy fried garlic also makes their shrimp stand out from the other shrimp trucks. The rice was perfectly cooked and was amazing with the sauce and garlic. They have lots of tables and a hand washing station. We’d definitely come back for more shrimp!

Jenny's Shrimp Truck is a popular food truck located near Big Wave and Honos on the road to the North Shore of Oahu. Chef Michael Arnot from the Four Seasons Resort at Ko Olina highly recommends this smaller operation for its delicious butterflied garlic shrimp. The shrimp are served butterfly-style, allowing the flavors to permeate through every bite.
The shrimp taste good and look so big!! We order and take out to the beach 10-20 min is need for waiting after you order your meal Shrimp rice lattes(? And pineapple are everything in the box
Akira T — Google review
Nice picnic tables outside to eat at! We liked the shrimp we got coconut & spicy garlic! We preferred the coconut since it was perfectly crusted! Spicy garlic was yummy but not as good compared to the coconut! We liked the pineapple as well that came with the meal! Generous portions as well. Relatively fast service.
Alice G — Google review
Jenny’s shrimp truck was amazing! Super garlic-y and the prawns were flavourful. The lines were not too short as well and it had a good seating area
Melzy P — Google review
Jenny's was THE best. I mean soo good, I drove up to the North Shore twice for their garlic shrimp plate. The flavor on the shrimp is insane. I feel like they pour over some of the garlic butter on the rice as well because it's so flavorful. I only wish they gave a bit more salad since I like having a side of some sort of vegg. There's lots of seating! Just note that the parking lot across the street is for the other trucks
Veronica N — Google review
Jenny's has some of the best shrimps around. I like it way more than Giovanni's for the taste and crispness of the coconut shrimp. They do get busy so prepare for that. The price is good and the overall flavor is packed into a great sauce for the shrimps. A must!
Tony T — Google review
Wife was very excited about garlic shrimp and rice but we both did not enjoy it as much as it is hyped. We shared a butter garlic shrimp with rice. Shrimp itself didn’t have a whole lot of flavor and could have been more tender. Rice with garlic had nice flavor but nothing outstanding. Salad was refreshing in between the bites of shrimp and rice.
Dhaval D — Google review
Nice food truck with great quality shrimp. Got the spicy shrimp. The texture and cook on the shrimp were well-prepared. Meaty and fresh shrimp. Sauce was mildly spicy, went well with the shrimp and the rice. Worth the visit if going to the North Shore.
David L — Google review
Typical shrimp truck. Prices are not listed but each plate of shrimp is $20. The spicy garlic shrimp was OVERCOOKED and carried an overpowering, briny flavor—almost as if it had been sautéed in the very farm water it was raised in. The coconut shrimp, however, were okay. Tourists should know that none of these shrimp trucks actually serve shrimp sourced from Hawaiʻi.

Kahuku Shrimp is a humble food truck located in the North Shore area, known for offering a variety of shrimp and local seafood options, either fried or steamed. Situated in the Kahuku food area near shrimp farms, this unassuming truck stands out for its authenticity and use of White shrimp grown in nearby farms. The menu features delicious garlic shrimp and other seafood combinations served with rice, salad or macaroni salad.
The ambience was wonderful & quite lovely~ especially for outdoor seating, with lots of shade provided by the large canopy. The beautiful warm weather made the shrimp dining experience even better, creating the perfect setting to enjoy a great meal. The Spicy shrimp was SOOOOOO FRICKIN GOOD!! It had so much flavor and just the right amount of spiciness. Our whole team loved it, and we think we’ll be coming back for more!

This is the best meal I had in Oahu - maybe even ever from anywhere! I randomly ordered it my first day in north shore and i was SHOCKED by how amazing it is!! I ordered the garlic shrimp / mahi combo. cannot emphasize how flavorful and soft the garlic shrimp is and the mahi is amazing too. the next day i went to try giovanni’s as they share a lot and i was curious about the famous truck. well let me just tell u I took a bite of it before going over to kahuku shrimp again because it’s what i deserve
Laila L — Google review
The best garlic butter shrimp I’ve ever had! I’ve tried a lot of places, but nothing compares to this spot. The flavor is insane! rich, buttery, and loaded with garlic ...and they give generous amounts of shrimp, rice, cabbage, & that delicious sauce! I couldn’t get enough. If you’re on Oahu, trying the shrimp here is a MUST! You won’t regret it at all.
Q T — Google review
This place is equally as S-tier as Giovanni’s shrimp truck but doesn’t get nearly as much recognition. They have the best coconut shrimp out of any shrimp truck on the island, and their garlic shrimp is also unmatched. Been here over a dozen times and anytime a friend is visiting, this is one of the first places I bring them. Pictured is the garlic shrimp, the hot shrimp, and the legendary coconut shrimp :)
Lee S — Google review
Service was good, friendly people, and nice spot to look around and has a lot of other food trucks. Food was so so. I got the shrimp and squid. Flavor was ok, more of a butter sauce or flavor than anything else. Texture was soft not best to me. Appearance was ok. This one wasn't worth the hour drive to try it. I much prefer Giovanni's but the other shrimp truck on the other end of the parking lot where this one is looked really good. People said it's very garlicky and super good flavor. Appearance wise it looked and spelled delicious!
Jasmine T — Google review
We had been driving around exploring the island when we stopped here. The tempura shrimp was surprisingly light, not greasy at all, and still crunchy even after a few minutes. I really enjoyed the garlic shrimp as well. That seems to be the signature dish along with the spicy shrimp. All the plates we tried we really really good. No complaints at all.
Mamoun D — Google review
We came here after a long beach day and WOW. The garlic shrimp was buttery heaven and the spicy shrimp had the perfect mix of flavors and was more exciting than the garlic shrimp for sure. My husband doesn’t usually eat seafood and even he finished every bite. That says a lot doesn’t it? Definitely lives up to the “famous” name.
Kylie A — Google review
Okay so I’ve been to Giovanni’s, Romy’s, Jenny’s, Tanaka Shrimp…you name it…but this one? Easily the best shrimp on the island. The other shrimp spots were nowhere near as tasty/delicious as Famous Kahuku Shrimp. This place is truly in it’s own league & on another level! Especially the garlic butter shrimp & the hot shrimp here are a must try!

Giovanni's Shrimp Truck is a popular stop for shrimp lovers, offering a variety of flavorful shrimp plates and even a garlic hot dog option. Located near shrimp farms, it's known for its delicious and well-known shrimp dishes. For around 13 USD, you can enjoy their signature flavors such as Scampi with garlic, lemon and butter, or spicy shrimp along with two scoops of rice.
Went on a Monday at 4pm and there wasn’t a line but felt rushed by the guy taking orders. Although the guy was rude, I can’t deny the fact that they ran like a well oiled machine and food was delicious. By the time my credit card payment went through, my food was being handed to me. We got the scampi shrimp and the spicy sauce on the side. Great flavor and the rice was perfectly cooked. Definitely need to stop here and worth the hype. Didn’t have any trouble finding parking.
Barb P — Google review
This is hands down one of the best garlic shrimp scampi I’ve ever had! I’m a foodie and have traveled to many places for food, I love shrimp scampi but you can’t find real good ones just anywhere. This hidden gem understood the assignment! There’s so much flavor in their garlic shrimp scampi. It was a like a whole party in my mouth. The next day I woke up craving it again, that’s how good it was! The lady at the counter was also very kind and nice. I would highly recommend it this place.
Glenda L — Google review
We got into a short line on a Monday and food was ready in a minute. The 12 big shrimp was cooked just right in real garlic and butter. The rice was perfectly cooked with garlic bits on top. The private lot had covered tables and had other interesting and quaint trucks and artisan venues. Also some beautiful chickens freely roaming.
Robert K — Google review
We did a last minute drive around the island and ended up here along the way. ATMOSPHERE: Look for the white food truck with the Giovanni's name. Driving from the east side of the island, you're gonna see a lot of shrimp trucks, but this one is the best! There's a permanent open-air covered pavilion with tables & seats. FOOD: Shrimp Scampi Total awesomeness. Finger licking good butter & garlic. It comes with 2 scoops of rice topped with chopped garlic, though I'm not a fan of rice with shrimp (maybe do a mac salad?) I could NOT replicate this at home no matter how much I tried. SERVICE: The staff were friendly and food service was quick. OVERALL: It's all in the fun of driving there, mingling with locals & tourists, all on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

An Absolute Must: Giovanni's Shrimp Truck! If you're on Oahu's North Shore, do yourself a favor and stop at Giovanni's Shrimp Truck. The hype is absolutely real! We went for the famous Shrimp Scampi, and it was nothing short of fantastic. The shrimp were huge, perfectly cooked, and smothered in a sauce that was beautifully garlicky. If you're a fan of garlic, this dish is a dream—it's got that wonderful, punchy flavor that makes every bite addictive. The meal is simple, but everything on the plate is perfect. The portion of two scoops of rice was just right for soaking up all that incredible garlicky sauce and making it a truly satisfying lunch. Seriously, I'm already planning my next trip back. If you want some of the best shrimp on the island, Giovanni's is the place!

If you enjoy eating shrimp this is for you. For those who aren't shrimp fans, still give it a try its also for the experience. The shrimp has a juicy bite to it and they serve you a good amount
Nwoo — Google review
Expect a long wait to serve the food because it is a busy place. The price is fair, shrimps were a bit salty. It’s hard to find a table as it is shared with other food trucks. Overall, it’s a great experience.

Since watching the hawaiian travelers YouTube channel I knew that Giovanni's was a must eat for my 1st time on the island. We got the garlic shrimp and the lemon shrimp and a side of Mac & cheese. The shrimp was so juicy and cooked to perfection. Normally, we heard there can be a wait for up to 2 hours but luckily I had our orders in hand within a few moments of pulling in. This truck is a must eat at. Also take a sharpie with you, they let you write on their truck ♡

As a street food like place, you can't ask for more with live performing in a casual and relax environment. I had spicy garlic shrimp rice, the portion was big and delicious. You can taste the freshness of the shrimp, it comes with a piece of pineapple which helps a lot to make the taste even fresher. Very tasty! Long q, but very fast service. To go pack is much easier and friendly. It also provides the sink to wash your hands after the meal. Very thoughtful! So far the best one on island, I'll try more to compare in the future!

Located on a side street near Turtle Bay, Fumi Shrimp is a shrimp specialty joint that is part of the North Shore's renowned food scene. We happened upon this casual eatery during lunchtime and decided to give it a try. The service speed was slower than one might expect from a street food venue. Despite the absence of a long queue during our visit, the wait time was considerably longer than anticipated. The menu is straightforward but does not disappoint. Each dish - be it the Butter Garlic Shrimp, Spicy Garlic Shrimp, or Tempura Shrimp - comes with seasoned rice and a slice of pineapple, providing a simple yet satisfying meal. The highlight was obviously the shrimps, which, especially in the Butter Garlic Shrimp, were brimming with umami courtesy of the garlic butter. The Tempura Shrimp was a familiar comfort dish, the sweet chili dip adding a pleasant kick, though it didn't leave a lasting impression. Given the reasonably portioned meals and the relatively affordable price point, Fumi Shrimp is certainly worth a visit, especially if you're in the area. The North Shore is famed for its shrimp offerings, and Fumi Shrimp stands as a testament to this reputation. However, while it's worth trying, it might not be the place I'd go out of my way to visit again.

We ordered a few butter garlic shrimp, spicy shrimp and chicken katsu to try. Food came quick. The spicy shrimp had the perfect spice level. The butter garlic shrimp were perfectly buttery without tasting too oily. Definitely recommend Fumi’s over Giovannis!

I heard great things about this place. Alot of recommendations by YouTube. We came here for lunch during a Circle Island tour and to my disappointment its not that good. Lol. I had a better garlic shrimp plate over at Waikiki from a food truck. Not sure what's the hype about. But the garlic butter shrimp plate was nothing. It was plain butter drizzle over shrimp, only chopped up garlic pieces over, but no garlicky flavor, no mac salad, just 2 scope of rice. Shrimp was large and cooked well, but simply not that garlicky flavor I was hoping for.

Cash only. This was a quick lunch stop for us. We tried the tempura and butter garlic shrimp. Tempura wins for both of us! It was better! It cost $18 for a plate+ drink. They had live music under the ramada. Overall, pretty sweet atmosphere.

Fumi's is great. The shrimp is so fresh and the different flavors are all delicious. We had the garlic, spicy, coconut, and tempura. All come with two scoops of rice, corn, and pineapple. The chicken katsu was also delicious and not greasy at all. Very crispy and flavorful. My friend also had the cheeseburger which was good. They have a bathroom and hand washing station. Counter service and outdoor seating only. Definitely a hidden gem.

This place lived up to its hype with amazing tasting shrimp and chicken katsu. Each dish was quick at the window when you ordered and hot. There were lots of tour buses there but plenty of seating, live music and good food. You can find this great place on the North Shore, but be careful, you will miss it driving by quickly.

Roy's Waikiki is a high-end restaurant chain that offers a contemporary setting and serves Hawaiian fusion cuisine created by renowned chef Roy Yamaguchi. With over three decades of culinary excellence, the restaurant blends fresh local ingredients with bold flavors from Asia and the Pacific. The elegant dining room and exceptional service add sophistication to the dining experience while maintaining a tropical ambiance.
Not going to lie - this was a really expensive meal. By leaps and bounds the priciest of our time in Oahu. BUT its one of the few expensive restaurants I've dined at that are worth the price for some of their dishes. I had 4 favorites: The Misoyaki Butterfish was superb - both flaky and flavorful! The Blue Crab Dynamite Fish Tempura Lobster knocked it out of the park as well with the amazing Shallot & Mushroom Risotto at the bottom. Ugh so good. I wish I could have ordered more of that risotto on the side! The Frying Dragon Roll was a wonderful crunchy treat with the wasabi butter adding just the right level of kick to start off the meal. The Garlic Parmesan Jumbo Black Tiger Shrimp was pretty epic as well. My family had a little debate over whether the Shrimp or the Lump Crab Ravioli made the dish (I argued for the Ravioli). Bit of Bad: If you check any of my other reviews, its not hard to tell that I LOVE dessert. Typically always leave space for it and did here at Roy's Waikiki. We tried the Signature Melting Hot Chocolate Souffle, the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, and the Pandan Panna Cotta special they had at the time. And while the Pandan Panna Cotta was bright, light, and refreshing, the two Hot Desserts were fairly major letdowns. Both tasted just below average and at double the price I've paid anywhere else. I'd skip and get dessert elsewhere if you still have the space after the rest of the amazing meal you'll have at Roy's Waikiki.

What can be said about this place? Are you looking for a beautiful night out with your spouse? Are you celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or graduation? Are you looking for an absolutely amazing table side service? From the moment you walk in, you can feel the level of professionalism and pride everyone takes in working here. The food is absolutely delicious, the drinks are strong, and the service is OUT of this world. The price is FULLY justified here, but you will be hard pressed to find a better level of attention to detail at any other place on the Island. Josh was absolutely fantastic as well.

Overall experience was very good. Several of us got the short ribs but one of us got one that was much tougher and tasted a bit different so make sure to let the staff know if you experience any inconsistencies. The rest of the meal had no issues. The outdoor patio area is nice but just a view of the street with the random loud car driving by now and then.

A+ all the way, from wait staff to food and drink. The waitstaff really know their stuff and can answer any question about the food and what's included. The menu is vast and has so many good options. We went for our anniversary and then, while at the table, booked a reservation for three nights later. We wanted to come back. The macadamia nut-encrusted fish (catch of the day, so it may change) was beyond amazing. The short ribs were spectacular, and their sushi is some of the best I have tasted. 100% recommend Roys. ps.. Chocolate Lava Cake w/Vanilla Ice Cream - WOW, just freaking amazing, gotta try it, we had it 2x (one is enough for two people)

High end restaurant but well worth the dinner. Expect to pay about $50 per person depending on what you get. The price is high but it is well worth it. There are plenty of tables but only a few you have a party of 6 or more so be ready to wait if you have a large party. If you have less, you can probably get a table but doesn't hurt to make reservations. The waiters here are very attentive and my water glass or beer glass was never empty. Be aware some of the main courses here do take time but once I tasted my food it was good. It also wasn't one of those restaurants with not enough to eat. I was definitely full after my meal and I enjoyed all of it. I got the deluxe meal which came with a variety of different food so good for if you can't decide this was a good go to. Overall, the atmosphere here is great for a date, for family, for a get together with friends, or just dinning alone too. Well worth your $$$ to spend on the high end food. You'll come out full.

This is the most amazing meal I’ve had in my life. Drinks were great! We had the canoe sampler appetizer and everything on it was delicious. Fish entrees were also so good. Peanut butter crunch bar for dessert. Servers very attentive. 10/10 on the whole experience. I have absolutely zero complaints!

Visitors can also explore luxury retailers like Tiffany and Co, Chanel, and Vera Wang at 2100 Kalakua Avenue. The center offers an array of dining options and unique experiences including Hawaii's first Saks Fifth Avenue at the International Marketplace.
This is a nice and classy store in the heart of downtown Waikiki. They have a good slection of high end shops, special mention having an ABC store since you can find anything here and for souvenirs. This mall also have a variety of food selection from food court and special dine in, like Cheesecake Factory. I’ve been here on different seasons and I love that this mall features different theme of live shows. I went during lunar new year and they had the Lion dance show and red enevelope ceremony. They also feature other activities for kids and live music, just check their website for the schedule. They usually have it posted on several entrances of the mall. This mall is also a short walking distance to Waikiki beach; there’s a pathway to the beach, slightly across from this mall; you won’t miss it as it’s lined up with a display of surf boards. And because of its convenient location, many people love shopping here and dining then you can just walk to the beach and relax. I can’t ask for anything better than great shopping, good food and a mix cultural experience.

A Shopping Gem in Waikiki! Having explored shopping malls across multiple countries and continents, I was pleasantly surprised by the Royal Hawaiian Center—it truly exceeded my expectations. This expansive, beautifully decorated, and impeccably maintained venue offers more than just a premier shopping experience; it seamlessly blends world-class retail with diverse dining options, creating an atmosphere that is both vibrant and inviting. What sets the Royal Hawaiian Center apart is its commitment to showcasing Hawaiian culture. Guests can enjoy a variety of complimentary events and workshops, immersing themselves in traditional music, dance, and artistry. One particularly unforgettable experience was witnessing a surprise marriage proposal at the conclusion of a mesmerizing hula performance—an unexpected yet heartwarming moment that highlighted the magic of this place. When it comes to dining, there is truly something for everyone. Whether you're craving a refreshing treat like those offered at Island Vintage Shave Ice or seeking a fine dining experience at Wolfgang's Steakhouse, the Center presents a variety of options to satisfy all tastes. Despite being a bustling destination, the Center is well worth the visit. To make the most of your experience, I recommend checking their website in advance to explore upcoming events and attractions. Conveniently located just steps from Waikiki Beach, this shopping and cultural hub is a must-see for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Hawaii. I look forward to returning to this exceptional destination soon.

Royal Hawaiian Center (2201 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815) is a beautiful and clean shopping center in the heart of Waikiki. It offers a wide variety of shops, from luxury brands like Tory Burch and Fendi to local boutiques, along with plenty of places to buy souvenirs. The food court has many options with good prices, and there are well-known restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory as well as smaller local eateries. The atmosphere is tropical, open, and inviting, with clean washrooms and plenty of space to walk around. It’s a great place to shop, eat, and spend time with family and friends. The reason for four stars instead of five is that most of the escalators were damaged and took far too long to be fixed, which made moving between floors a bit inconvenient. Other than that, the center is well-maintained, clean, and definitely worth visiting when in Waikiki.

Paia Fish Market Waikiki is an Oahu seafood cafe that serves dishes from the Paia Fish Market in Maui. It's popular for its large portions of seafood specialties that are plain tasty and fill you up. Not everything on the menu is seafood, but it's a good place to get your fish fix.
We love this place! They have a food truck on the island too! We have been to the one in Maui before it burned down. The food never disappoints. We tried the fried calamari and the kids fish and chips this time around, they were both crispy and delicious 😋 Definitely coming back!

All of the stars, here, are for the staff. I give them 5 stars! Makena and Fin give superior customer service and really go above and beyond. The pineapple mojito was pretty decent. The fish and chips missed the bar big time for me. I didn’t like the texture and the breading was severely lacking in seasoning; I sprinkled salt on the fish and used almost every condiment to try to add flavor. I was very happy with their in-house made cole slaw; normally, I skip eating cole slaw when accompanying a meal, but this was very fresh and flavorful, I really enjoyed it. I learned about this restaurant from my Lyft driver; I would give Paia a try again, to actually go with what my driver recommended, pick a fish, preparation, and sides.

Very busy place. Took about 20 minutes to get through the line. Clam chowder had a really good flavor, was a bit on the cool side. I had the blackened ahi tuna and my wife had olo fish butter garlic glaze. I thought the coleslaw was fantastic. Street parking around the area if you can find it. We walked from the hotel.

Sunday afternoon visit, first visit. The food was pretty good. Lunch plate(snapper with cajun rice & home potatoes) and the fish & chips were our entrees. The rice was not at all cajun but it tasted well. The home fries were really good. The snapper was grilled and ok. The fish in the fish & chips tasted fresh. The fries were ok. The coleslaw is on the sweeter side, but we enjoyed it. You place your order and then it's more food hall style. A server delivers your order to you and the that's it. You clear your own table, but the table does come with a box with: utensils, common condiments, and napkins. Given the opportunity we'd eat here again.

Super good fish as expected. Really like the casual vibe and ordering a drink while in line. There's usually a line outside the door but it isn't too bad, about 15 minutes until you're inside, then you line up to order. Portion is massive. Fish is delicious.

Pā’ia Fish Market, Honolulu — don’t let the burned look fool you.🔥🐟 When I first saw photos of the fish here on Google, I thought, “Whoa… that’s way too burnt. Why would anyone cook fish like that?” It looked blackened to the edge of existence — I was sure it would taste dry or bitter. But no. That “burnt” look? It’s actually intentional — and brilliant. They coat the fish in a crust of spices and char the seasoning, not the fish itself. Once I understood that — I gave it a try. Medium rare ahi tuna, blackened style. And let me tell you — the moment that fish touched my tongue, I got it. Juicy, tender tuna inside, with this crunchy, salty, smoky crust of spices on the outside. It’s like flavor fireworks. You get heat, salt, umami, and this deep roasted character that only happens when spices hit fire just right. I legit sat back in my chair and said: “Damn.” You can actually choose from about five different cooking styles, from gentle, European-style white wine + garlic + lemon butter sauce, all the way to that bold blackened spice crust. So there’s something for everyone — mild to wild. 💸 Price-wise? Around $30 with a drink, and honestly — 100% worth it. Fresh fish, big portions, real flavor. I regret judging this place by its photos. Now I’d go back in a heartbeat — and next time, I’m getting the blackened style again. If you’re in Honolulu and love seafood — this is a must. — Ilya #CyborgRecommends #PaiaFishMarket #Don’tJudgeByTheCrust #HonoluluEats #SpicyTunaHeaven

We have eaten here back in 2023 and again recently. I had the garlic shrimp and it was good. The rest of my family had something different. They wanted the steak, but the restaurant was out of the steak already. We did notice the portions of the rice and potato salad was noticeably smaller portions compared to the time in 2023 and their prices have gone up as well, so maybe it’s due to inflation. I didn’t feel full after eating dinner. Im not a big person either. They could have been a bit more generous with rice and potato salad because I didn’t think it was worth the price otherwise. It was quite busy so they seem to have decent business which is good. I always like to see businesses do well. I would probably still eat here again but only once during our stay. I do like their potato salad and I’m not usually a big fan of potato salad.

My family really like this restaurant. Garlic shrimp, steak and rice, poke all of dishes are so good. Through the side walk of hotel, you will find a romantic restaurant beside pool. We got the Garlic Shrimp and Ahi Poke from Sam’s Kitchen in Waikiki, and both were absolutely delicious! The garlic shrimp was perfectly cooked — crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and full of rich garlic flavor. It paired so well with the rice. The ahi poke was super fresh, seasoned just right, and had great texture. The staff were friendly and the takeout process was quick and easy. We enjoyed the meal with a bottle of wine at our hotel — great portions and excellent value for the price. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Hawaiian flavors in Waikiki!

Really solid food and drinks, with friendly service and a super lovely atmosphere by the pool. The restaurant is a little hidden behind the hotel but you ARE in the right place if you followed the pathway past the little Sam's Kitchen truck display. Sadly they ran out of poke, which was the reason I had gone, but the steak was still really good. The spicy garlic shrimp was the highlight, but we also enjoyed the steak and the veggies.

This is a small place that you might completely miss. It is at the Bamboo hotel on Kuhio ave. It has a casual laid back tiki bar vibe with thatched umbrellas along the poolside. It is open air but there is ample seating closer to the bar if it happens to rain when you visit. Staff is experienced, friendly, and attentive. We came at lunchtime so I’m not sure what the place is like in the evenings but it might be even better with the place lit up! As for the food ordered the extra jumbo shrimp with their original garlic sauce. We also ordered the top sirloin NY steak cooked med rare. We ordered the steak as “da plate” so it came with rice, potato salad, and salad. We also got a side of the pineapple teriyaki sauce. I wish they sold the sauce in a bottle to take home! Anyway, chill vibe, good service, great food, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend.

Maguro Spot is an affordable, delicious seafood restaurant located in Honolulu. They specialize in poke bowls, and some people say that their poke bowls are the best they've ever had. You can choose from a variety of different toppings for your bowl, or you can create your own by choosing your preferred size, rice, sauce, and topping.
It's fresh poke bowls and it tasted great! There were some preset items so I got the E bowl in large which was the All Hawaiian. I asked for brown rice instead of white. The fish was very fresh! The seasoning was subtle but let the fish flavors shine through. However I think I could have used a little bit more of it, as well as more veggies. Still, a very satisfying meal.
Albert N — Google review
The portions here are shockingly small for the price. A small bowl is $7 for only 2oz, and a medium bowl is $13 for just 4oz. The poke itself has no flavor, and honestly, it didn’t taste as fresh as other spots in Waikiki. I live here for months, and I usually go to Waikiki Market instead—their poke portions are huge, the fish is cut into nice large cubes, and the marination is flavorful and fresh. If you head to Ala Moana, Foodland is a much better option than here as well. I wouldn’t recommend visitors waste their money at Maguro Spot. Save your appetite and check out Waikiki Market or Foodland instead—you’ll get way better quality and value.
Charlie L — Google review
Heard about this restaurant through a local, who had told us that Maguro Spot had the best poke in town. Indeed, they were correct! We had the mixed fish ( tuna, salmon, and shrimp) in our poke bowl and this was THE FRESHEST fish I have ever had. You can tell they pick the best ingredients. The rest of the poke was equally delicious, but the taste of the fish was what stayed with me! I cannot recommend this poke spot enough! However, when we arrived around 8 pm, the line was wrapping around the block!! As a result, I would recommend giving yourself and your party plenty of time for dinner, since the wait was about 30 minutes! The line does move fast ( the staff is rather speedy and efficient) but there were still so many people! There is also seating in the back of the restaurant since it's rather small and there aren't any seats or tables inside!

After a hike to Diamond Head I was starving and saw a long line for this place, so naturally I was like it must be good. I've NEVER had poke but I always wanted to try it. Menu had a great selection and easy enough to navigate for a newbie. I ordered salmon, white rice, green onion. garlic, cucumber with teriyaki sauce. Service was fast and Cody the cashier was friendly. I wanted to love this bowl but 4/5 for me. Everything was fresh and the serving size was great. Maybe I'm just not a poke girl, but I want to be. I would still recommend and would be willing to try again on my next holiday to Hawaii.

This place is definitely hands down the best Poki spot I've ever been to! And this is coming from someone who eats Poki or sushi frequently and who has been to many poke spots.. I was in Hawaii for my Honeymoon last week and was in Waikiki for three days and went to Maguro Spot every day I was there. The quality of the fish  here is AMAZING. The cuts of fish are consistently fresh and they also have many different types of sauces to choose from! I loved their shoyu and sesame oil based sauces because they would add a good amount of flavor but also not be so overwhelming where you would be able to taste the fresh fish. For the three times I went to Maguro Spot, not only did I get the best meal every time but I also had amazing service every time. They have the friendliest staff  :) Thank you Maguro for being one of the highlights of my trip! I will definitely be back next time I'm visiting Waikiki!

I love how you can customize your poke bowl here. I also love how fresh the fish tastes and the portions are pretty decent for the price. If I spend $20 here I get a decent portion of fish with various toppings for dinner. If I spend $12 here I get a local afternoon snack. You get what I'm saying?? Anyways love their salmon! I hope they make it so you can accumulate points LOL cuz I come too often.

This place is extremely popular for its Poke Bowls especially during lunch and dinner hours. A long line forms outside the place. Though order taking is pretty swift and the line moves fast. There is a shared seating space with another smaller restaurant. The menu is large and provides a good variety to choose from. They have both meat based as well as vegetarian poke bowls. Street parking is extremely difficult to find around the area, so would recommend taking public transport or ride share options to get here. Also this place is very close to the Waikiki center and is easily walkable, hence a nice spot for a meal close by to the center.

Amazing delicious poke with lots of options. It's a popular, trendy spot that can often have a line. Choices of shoyu, mayo, or sesame oil sauces for the fish. Don't be fooled by its kinda crummy looking exterior and picnic tables. It's well worth a visit for a very affordable price.

Island Vintage Coffee is a popular coffee chain with four locations across the island, including Ala Moana Center, Royal Hawaiian Center, Koolina Station, and Haleiwa. The cafe offers fresh-brewed coffee, snacks, whole beans, and accessories. Known for its incredible coffee selection such as the Hawaiian Honey Latte and Acai Bowls, Island Vintage Coffee stands out among other chains on the island.
Island Vintage Coffee is hands down one of our favorite spots in Hawaii! From their rich, smooth coffee to their fresh and flavorful acai bowls, everything is made with care and quality ingredients. The vibe is laid-back yet vibrant — perfect for a morning pick-me-up or a relaxed afternoon break. We loved the local touches in the menu, and the presentation was beautiful. Service was friendly and efficient, and the whole experience felt like a true island treat. Definitely worth a stop (or two) while you’re here! Great selection for breakfast lovers too!

I tried both of their signature coffees—while they were a bit sweet for my taste, I appreciated the unique twist compared to a regular latte. I also had their açaí bowl, which was quite good. Overall, a decent coffee experience with some interesting flavors.

Delicious brunch place with long lines but worth the wait. I would visit every time I’m back to Honolulu. The staffs were very accommodating and friendly. My friends and I really liked the Island Style Plate that comes with delicious papaya. I ordered the lox plate and had fun making my own lox from the prepared ingredients. I really enjoyed their %100 Kona coffee as well.
Muse N — Google review
This was a great place with various options of drinks and food for a regular price, considering the area is very touristy and expensive. I went around 9 a.m. during the week, and it wasn’t full at all, only around 5 customers. I ordered the small Haupia Moana Açai Bowl, and the size was still very big for one person. They are already prepared in a good-size bowl, so it is very easy to have it to-go like I did. The flavor and the freshness of all the ingredients were amazing, and the serving size of all fruits was very reasonable. They have a bigger size option, but this was enough to leave me feeling full for a couple of hours. Since it’s within the mall, it has plenty of parking available all the time, especially in the morning that the big stores are closed. I would recommend it as a stop if you are planning on going to the Ala Moana Beach/Magic Island area.

Definitely our favorite brunch spot in Hawaii! Everything was so fresh and delicious 🌺the papaya bowl was one of the best we’ve ever had, and all the drinks were amazing

Island Vintage Coffee has DELICIOUS coffee. Order online and get an Island Latte.. you’ll thank me later 😜 If you wait in line, it’s quite a long line with a 10 minute wait or so after you order. I recommend ordering online as they are significantly quicker! The island latte… INCROYABLE! ONO! Sooooooooooo delicious 👏

Island Vintage Coffee Waikiki was our daily go-to café for delicious coffee and acai bowls. I enjoyed it so much that I bought an Island Vintage mug as a souvenir!!! Wonderful staff and good products added to an already wonderful Hawaiian holiday. Always lots of customers for a reason.
Stephen G — Google review
The worst of all the Island Vintage franchise stores. This location is on the first level of Ala Moana mall & right next to the stage, so it’s not great to sit in & enjoy. Always people around, so you could try ordering online. Their açaí bowls and smoothies are excellent and they serve above average quality coffee. Limited seating in the small store so go explore nearby seating options on the various levels of the outdoor mall. It’s just like any of the other franchise stores, so I recommend the other locations due to the mall & crowds.

Vietnamese restaurant
Bắc Nam is a Vietnamese restaurant in an unprepossessing location in a residential area of Baltimore, Maryland. However, the extensive menu offers excellent choices for both Pho and Bun (cold noodle dishes), as well as other specialties from both the North and South of Vietnam. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. Parking can be a little challenging but overall this is an excellent choice for anyone looking for good Vietnamese food.
You must eat here! Fantastic food and very friendly service. It seemed that everyone was a local and all of the food we ordered was 100% amazing: - Iced Coffee was a must have! - cold vermicelli noodles had an amazing house fish sauce. The chicken and spring rolls were tasty! - pho was the most fragrant, delicious broth!
Erik F — Google review
Nice establishment, customer service is good and friendly. The food is delicious and prices are very reasonable compared to other Vietnamese establishments. The owner and chef of Fete suggested we try this place, so if that's any indication of the quality of food, don't hesitate trying this place.
Leighton M — Google review
Best Vietnam food in Hawaii. The jellyfish salad is great. The pho is amazing. All the food we tied was good like in Vietnam. If you are tired of American food that's the place where you go
Fabrizio B — Google review
The crab curry is a very special dish! The bbq chicken wrap platter is my favorite! All their soups were full of flavor!
Stacey F — Google review
Stopped here purely on Yelp ratings to try out their pho. Started off with the Steamed Dumplings…wow. So much flavor packed into those small dumplings. The outside was chewy and went well with the stuffing and the toppings. The pho broth was one of the best we’ve tried (and we’ve tried tons from the west side to the east side). Soup was piping hot with tons of flavor. Service was excellent and the food came out fast. This will be our new number one stop for pho!

We went here years ago and I had to come back when I got here this year too! Such a great spot. We got the pho, chicken curry and stuffed chicken wings 👌🏾🤤 We shared these three plates and grabbed rice. Plenty food for the two of us :) enjoy!

This is an excellent, small, family owned and run Vietnamese restaurant. They have a very diverse, tasty menu items. My favorite is the curry crab and garlic fried rice. But, YOU won't be disappointed with any menu item. My friends from Japan and I just happened upon Bac Nam. We had just visited the Makiki Christian Church around the corner. Our party needed a rest. We were tired of walking. And, we all desperately required a good, healthy, tasty and filling meal. So, we decided to try Bac Nam Restaurant. What an unbelieveable find. The dishes are absolutely delicious. We had no introductions to this restaurant. But, the kind family style service and stunning dish flavors immediately won us over. And, since then, I have become a long-time, dedicated fan of theirs. My favorite is the combination of curry crab and garlic fried rice. Some of the restaurant patrons, who passed by my table, nodded and remarked that the dish was one of their favorites too. Later, I discovered that customers from all over Japan including as far north as Hokkaido, are their devoted patrons. My Vietnamese friends, who later came to Hawaii from Boston for a visit, also gave their full, strong stamp of approval along with their seal of authenticity. For all these reasons, I highly recommend the Bac Nam Restaurant for your's and your family's next stop. Give them a try. I believe, you will not be disappointed.
Ken K — Google review
The facility is very clean and cozy. There's even a second room with longer tables to accommodate larger groups. There is plenty of free parking behind the restaurant with additional metered parking out front if necessary. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The food was delicious and was like home cooking. It's really authentic Vietnamese food when you want to get away from the tourists influences.

Seafood restaurant
Steak house
Blue Ocean Seafood & Steak is a popular dining spot in Waikiki, known for its commitment to excellence and sumptuous garlic shrimp recipe. The restaurant offers an open kitchen concept, allowing diners to witness the magic of cooking with fresh, local ingredients. It's advisable to make reservations due to its popularity and check parking options. Additionally, the food truck now has a neighboring shipping container and outdoor seating, providing an alternative dining experience within Honolulu.
What is overwhelming about Blue Ocean is the large selection of seafood creations to choose from. For my first dining experience for dinner, I ordered their premium plate of Prime rib and lobster. Service was friendly and prompt. The plating of the food was nice and both the steak and lobster were grilled perfectly. My only gripe was that the order came with one slice of butter for the lobster. The sides of salad and dinner roll were ample compliments to this fulfilling meal. The following day, for lunch I had to try their Soft shell crab and shrimp kabob. Fried crab and grilled shrimp cooked perfect. Both times, my hunger was conquered! Dining at Blue Ocean was relaxing. The picnic tables with the umbrella will keep you cool. Overall, I highly recommended this place, offering many delights and priced reasonably compared to the other food truck vendors in Waikiki.

My first time here, had lunch with my colleague. I ordered calamari shrimp kebab, and my colleague ordered calamari shrimp tempura. The portion was big, each meal enough for two. The calamari and the shrimp was very tasty. I really enjoyed the food, and friendly staff too. Highly recommended for Muslims who are looking for seafood based meal or anyone who's enjoy seafood.

A nice and very popular spot for trying Hawaiian Sea Food variety. They have an extra large menu which has almost everything one can think of having in Hawai. The place is practically a long container where they take order in the beginning, next window is for food pickup, while the last portion is for dynamic tacos. You place the order and get a receipt with order number, the delivery guy literally shouts the order number a few times and you have to keep an ear out for him in the midst of their music playing and road traffic. They have 10 tables with 4 to 6 chairs each covered by an umbrella for consuming the food hot. They accept both cash and card. Overall a nice spot. This is located right across from the corner food street trucks on main Kuhio Avenue. This is a busy spot and parking is extremely difficult to find, so better walk here, take the bus, or a ride share. They do have vegetarian options available on the menu. This place is wheelchair accessible. The Spicy Garlic Shrimp were very nice and even the small size had a large serving good for two people to share.

I was taking a morning walk and saw this restraunt. I wanted to try it out to see how it was. The lady in the counter was very kind, got my order quick and cooked it right away. I ordered the Hawaiin Beef and Salmon plate. The plate looked really appetizing but once I ate it I was VERY disappointed. The beef skewer looked very promising but it was as dry as the desert. The salmon wasn’t any better either. The only item that eas decent was their rice. Very disappointing, do not reccomend. Plated costed 28 dollars, utensil also broke during eating.

We visited around 9 PM on a weekday and ordered pizza and coconut shrimp. The owner was very friendly, and we even got a few extra shrimp (ordered 8 pieces but received 11). By the time we finished eating, the restaurant seemed to be closing, but customers kept coming in. We were very full. Paid $37 for two people. It’s quiet and nice if you go at night.
D K — Google review
Shared shrimp and calamari and was very good. Fast service. The only downside to the outside eating is there’s a moped rental shop right next-door and a group of six people were revving the engines of their mopeds and it started smelling like gasoline.
Golden G — Google review
This is a good quick seafood to stop. We were here for dinner around 6PM. It not too busy yet until 6:30PM. The foods was good and price are affordable. I enjoyed it.
L. W — Google review
Give yourself some time to look through their very extensive menu and be clear on what you want, there are so many great choices! Every time I come to Honolulu, we make sure to eat here. My mom always orders the oysters and absolutely loves them. I really enjoy the calamari, garlic shrimp, and steak bites with rice, everything is full of flavor! For the kids, we ordered pizza, chicken nuggets, and fries, and they ate every bite. I usually go for fish, and their seafood is always fresh and delicious. Everything comes in to-go boxes, and you eat outside, so it’s not fancy, but it’s full of flavor, great portions, and the meals will definitely fill you up! Perfect for families, casual dining, and anyone craving good, hearty food in Waikiki.

Island Vintage Wine Bar is a wine bar located in the Royal Hawaiian Center that offers a variety of organic and biodynamic wines. The wine bar has a smaller selection than other wine bars on the island, but it is worth dining in for its tranquil dining room and lush foliage.
The most delicious food!! Service is pretty good, they are very busy so when we sat at the bar for drinks and dinner, we did not see the bartender very much, but when we were seated at the table for breakfast the next day, our waiter was attentive and very nice. Their guava and lilikoi mimosas were so delicious and the açaí bowl was so good as well! They have a whole gluten free menu with recommended substitutions for their whole menu for gluten free customers.
Megan A — Google review
We stopped by for breakfast and decided to try their famous açaí bowl. It was my first time having one, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect—but it turned out to be really good! The flavor was rich and refreshing. The staff were super friendly and recommended going with the original flavor for first-timers. I didn’t realize the original size was actually bigger than the other flavors, so I couldn’t finish it. Unfortunately, it was our last day before heading to the airport, so I couldn’t take it to go. Such a shame! Looking forward to my next Hawaii trip and definitely more açaí bowls!

Located right next to the always-busy Island Vintage Coffee in Waikiki is the Island Vintage Wine Bar. It offers the same food menu as the cafe, but you can also order alcoholic beverages. It's usually a bit easier to get a reservation here. I'd recommend this place for anyone who wants to enjoy a drink and have a more relaxed meal. I've been a few times, and this visit was for lunch. While the prices feel a bit high, that's just the reality of Waikiki. This is really a place you go to enjoy the atmosphere more than the food itself. The drink I ordered came in a to-go cup, which was a bit disappointing. I think it would be more fun to come in the evening and enjoy some food while trying different wines.
Akiko I — Google review
Island Vintage Wine Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Center (2301 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI) truly deserves five stars. From the moment we arrived, the hostess greeted us with such kindness and professionalism, and our server went above and beyond, carefully explaining the menu, checking on us often, and making sure we felt taken care of throughout the experience. The coffee was incredibly fresh, and the food exceeded our expectations. It was healthy, flavorful, and served in generous portions. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, which was rich and perfectly balanced, while my husband enjoyed the Gluten Free Coconut Toast Breakfast that was both wholesome and delicious. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. This place has it all — wine, cocktails, specialty coffee, fresh food, and even desserts. You can also shop for beautiful mugs, local Hawaiian coffee, and souvenirs to take a piece of the island home with you. We were seated by a lovely window with a view of lush trees, which made the atmosphere even more relaxing and beautiful. Prices were very reasonable for the quality, service, and location. Everything arrived right on time, and the experience felt seamless from start to finish. If you are visiting Waikiki, I highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, or even a casual evening with a glass of wine. Great food, warm service, a beautiful view, and an overall experience that makes you want to return again and again.

Hands down my favorite restaurant on this Hawaii trip! The food was both tasty and beautifully plated. The prices are same with Beverly Hills brunch restaurant, but it’s totally worth it — highly recommended!
S W — Google review
Had dinner last night and it was great all the way around. The food is creative, fresh, delicious and the menu is huge. They also serve breakfast all day if that is your thing. We had a seafood cioppino type dish and chose to add the garlic noodles. It was so good and it came with the most delicious, fresh garlic bread you can imagine. We also ordered a lettuce wrapped wagyo burger and it came with sweet potato fries and a very delicious sauce. I asked the waiter if we could have regular fries instead and he happily did so even though I snuck few of the sweet potato fries. I thought this place was a wine bar with a light menu but boy was I wrong. The ladies next to our table were going nuts over their dishes too and we chatted and they wanted us to try derp fried eggplant spears that they could not finish. They were crazy delicious in a spectacular sauce. Honestly, this is a hidden gem in the Royal Hawaiian shopping mall and it is so worth going to!!!
Paula Z — Google review
We got the charcuterie and cheese board and it was the perfect meal for me and my husband (who had already been eating so much on vacation!) Everything on the menu though looked absolutely amazing and would totally come back.
Tina V — Google review
Absolutely delicious breakfast menu. The breakfast plates are decent value and delicious. The açaí bowls are delicious, the best I had in Hawaii. The coffee was… delicious as well, surprise surprise. Genuinely the best breakfast we had on our trip, we came back here several times. Service was quick and polite. 10/10 breakfast spot.

Restaurant
Giovanni’s Shrimp is a renowned food truck located in Kahuku, an hour's drive from Honolulu along the scenic windward coast. It is famous for its classic garlic shrimp scampi and is considered one of the best shrimp trucks on Oahu's North Shore. Despite changes in ownership and expansion, Giovanni’s continues to draw large crowds, with long lines forming even before it opens at 10:30 AM daily.
Giovanni’s shrimp never disappoints!!! I love that they have this new location close to Waikiki so now we don’t have to drive to north shore so Giovanni’s!!!! My husband gets hot n spicy 🌶️ shrimp he loves spicy it’s his fav! I get the garlic 🧄 this food is to die for ♥️☺️😬
Sarah Y — Google review
This location is inside an H Mart! Came here after visiting Big Wave shrimp on north shore and I thought Giovanni’s was much tastier! They really emphasize the garlic flavor well and their spicy sauce is delicious. Definitely worth making a stop here!
Amber L — Google review
We missed hitting the shrimp trucks on the North Shore so we were happy to find a closer alternative in Honolulu! This is in the food court on the second floor of the H Mart. They have a smaller menu but, man, is that shrimp good!
Angela M — Google review
It was good! But I'm glad I came to this location (food court above H Mart) versus the food truck because I'm not sure if it's worth waiting in a longggg line for. Shrimps aren't peeled, hot sauce was quite spicy but paired really well with the garlic shrimp.
Holly K — Google review
Was so excited to be able to enjoy Giovannis without having to drive up to the north shore, but this location kinda disappointed. To their credit, the shrimp was hot and seemed fresh, but overall it was pretty disappointing. Not sure if it was bottom of the barrel, but the garlic butter seemed old and kinda paste-y and dried out. Also the woman working had her infant behind the counter with her. I understand how hard and frustrating childcare can be, but there has to be a line for food safety handling purposes.
Maya B — Google review
Tried Giovanni’s Shrimp Hawaii for my first meal in Honolulu — went straight for the #1 garlic shrimp. So good. It’s tucked inside the H Mart food court on the second floor. I’d heard a lot about their shrimp platter, so I had to give it a shot. Big shrimp, two scoops of rice, and plenty of flavor. It was $17.50, which felt a bit pricey, but honestly worth it. Bonus: it’s super close to Ka Moana Luau, like a 15-minute drive.
Gene L — Google review
Giovanni's Shrimp Truck is an absolute must-try on O'ahu's North Shore. It's one of Hawaii's most famous food trucks, easily recognizable by its exterior covered in customer signatures and graffiti. They keep the menu simple, focusing on a few plates, all served with two scoops of rice. Their signature dish is the Shrimp Scampi, which is smothered in olive oil, lemon butter, and lots of chopped garlic—it's deliciously messy and packed with flavor. You can also get the "No Refunds" Hot & Spicy version or the Lemon Butter shrimp. Be ready for a line, but the whole experience in the North Shore food truck court is worth the wait for that classic, garlicky plate lunch.
Joshua M — Google review
We went the Giovanni’s Shrimp in the 2nd floor of H-Mart. The garlic rice and scampi is our go-to. Lots of shrimp for a great price. We also had the mac salad. A must stop when you’re in Honolulu and can’t make it out to the original spot in the North Shore.
