Steak house
Lou & Mickey's steakhouse offers a variety of dishes that include steak, chicken and seafood. The restaurant is located in a prime area and has an outdoor patio that is perfect for enjoying the weather. The service here is excellent and the prices are reasonable.
20/10 this place looks and acts fancy but it's a welcoming vibe. Not gonna lie I was NOT dressed up but they welcomed me in and were SO lovely and attentive! There was a little confusion with the front door hostess who even tho it was empty kept saying you can do "silver top". It took a little clarification to work out she was telling me to sit at the bar but I asked for a table and got it. Servers lovely , quick, attentive. Food - I came for the fish and chips and it was exactly as pictured and amazing!!!! Perfect fresh made beer batter and the fish was tender and juicy. So good! I'm an Aussie so I'm fussy about fish and chips but this was worth the walk!

Five stars for sure for waiter Robert! Extremely, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive without being bothersome. A very warm and relaxing atmosphere with a great location in the gas lamp District. Be sure to order the rolls. If you like oysters, don’t hesitate ordering them! I would drive age steak, that we shared, was very good… But I must admit that I’m parcel to a thicker cut, grilled perfectly by my husband. I have to mention our fabulous dessert!
Sarah D — Google review
First time eating a 90 day dry aged steak. Honestly couldn't tell it apart from 40 day. If they had a 30-, 60-, 90-day aged tasting, it would be welcomed, to discover the nuisances, *hint*hint*. Was it tender? Absolutely. Was is flavorful? Definitely. I enjoyed the goat cheese appetizer but I had to request lightly toasted bread and honey which elevated the experience. The baked potato was another solid win. Would revisit in a heartbeat if ever back in town.

What a great lunch visit! Trey, our server, was awesome and spot on with our service. It was lunch so not crowded. Food was perfect. Salads, steaks, seafood all prepared well. The bread appetizer was wonderful. I highly recommend that. Overall super meal and service. Very convenient just across from convention center. We look forward to retuning for dinner.

We grabbed a seat at the bar at Lou & Mickey’s, and honestly, that’s the move. The bartender runs the show like a pro - she was fast, friendly, and with just enough personality to keep you entertained while she’s serving up cocktails that actually tastes like they should. Service was sharp, drinks were spot-on, and the whole place has that polished yet unpretentious vibe that makes you want to linger. There’s a steady hum of Gaslamp energy flowing through the room, but not in a chaotic, tourist-trap way—more like a reminder that you’re in the heart of San Diego and this is one of the neighborhood’s staples. The food? Solid. The steaks deliver, the seafood backs it up, and even the sides pull their weight. It’s not reinventing the steakhouse wheel, but it doesn’t need to—the quality speaks for itself. Prices aren’t shy, but you’re paying for the combo: good food, strong drinks, and a lively setting that always feels like an occasion. I don’t make it to Lou & Mickey’s as often as I’d like, but every time I do, I leave thinking, “yeah, that was worth it.” Whether you’re a local escaping the usual downtown scene or a visitor looking for a legit San Diego dinner, Lou & Mickey’s earns its 4 stars with ease.
Timmy F — Google review
Lou & Mickey’s and it lived up to the hype. I had the 45 day dry aged bone in ribeye, cooked perfectly mid rare, easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Sons went for the chicken strips and had the kids burger, both cleared their plates. My wife ordered coconut shrimp and sea bass, the shrimp was the clear winner, she loved it, while the sea bass was more of a 7/10. Desserts were solid, wife had key lime pie, son got chocolate mousse, and both hit the spot. Even the bread (which you have to order separately strange, but worth it) was fantastic. We sat outside, which meant seeing a few homeless folks walk by yelling or talking to themselves. It’s the Gaslamp District, so that comes with the territory, but the overall atmosphere was still great. Definitely recommend if you want a top tier steak and a lively downtown vibe.

Everything was great. Parked at Old Town and took the trolley to the Gaslamp that pretty much dropped us off in front of the steakhouse. The steaks was done to our protection. The sides were good. The alcohol drinks were alcohol, always great 😉🤤

We had a wonderful dining experience at Lou & Mickey’s! Everything we ordered was delicious -the ribeye was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the salad was fresh and crisp, and the baked goat cheese w/roasted garlic on sourdough bread was a standout appetizer. The Chilean sea bass was prepared great! My husband especially loved the oysters…they were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Would definitely recommend!

Butcher shop
Cowboy Star Restaurant and Butcher Shop is a chophouse located at 640 Tenth Avenue in San Diego, CA. The rustic-chic decor creates a Western-meets-modern vibe that appeals to both locals and tourists. The restaurant features an on-site butcher and an open kitchen where guests can witness the culinary magic firsthand. The menu offers standard meat cuts alongside offal and wild game, all of which are humanely raised.
Incredibly the best happy hour 3-6 pm Mon-Fri. My go to the old fashions are superb with some steak and fries or sliders. Wireless chargers on bar top and the best service in town. Full menu available at 5 pm. Cowboy Star never disappoints.
Danny R — Google review
Cowboy Star is hands down one of the best dining experiences in San Diego! The food is consistently incredible, and the service is just as amazing. From the moment you walk in, Kristal at the front makes you feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of — she remembers you and greets you with such warmth every time. Arturo and Victor behind the bar are fantastic — not only are they great at what they do, but they’re also so personable and friendly, which really adds to the overall vibe. Manager Tony also makes a point to check in and ensure everything is going smoothly, which shows how much the team cares. Truly a place where the staff goes above and beyond. Highly recommend for a night out, special occasion, or just a really good meal.
Thalia C — Google review
My goodness! What a great experience! Service was outstanding and the food was beyond great. The flank steak of all things was phenomenal. The white sea bass was fresh and cooked perfectly. The banana "pudding" dessert was incredible. Save room for that!
Tim S — Google review
What a beautiful restaurant, the ambience felt like I was in the past but with elegance. Service was superb and the food was phenomenal. My family loved it!!! We had the Porterhouse for 2, Mussels, 2 oz A5 Wagyu (melter in our mouth) and the dry aged rib eye. Every single one of the dishes was so delightfully good, it melted on your mouth. Perfect seasoning and perfect cooking on how we wanted our steak. Thank you.
Francis F — Google review
Had an amazing time at Cowboy Star! The food was spot on — my wife’s Old Fashioned was made just right, the oysters were super fresh, and the cowboy ribeye was cooked perfectly. We grabbed seats at the bar on a busy Friday night and Cassandra took great care of us. She was super professional, really attentive, and somehow kept everything running smoothly while juggling a packed bar. Great food, great service, great vibe — we’ll definitely be back!
Jheremy T — Google review
We ordered the bread service of course and then our entrees were ribeye with green beans almondine and mashed potatoes and the pork chops with braised cabbage and potatoes dauphin. The food was delicious. Potatoes crisp outside fluffy inside. Beans buttery and garlicky and both meats were perfectly cooked. The staff were so kind and generous. Chef gave us amuse vouches with a whole lot of ingredients but basically broke down as vegetable soup in one bite. Restaurant is beautiful and highly recommended.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was excellent, the food was so amazing, and the menu selection was great. I would definitely go again.

Here is a list of things that make me go YEEHAW: - Reflecting back on the night of my engagement - Cowboy Star’s steaks - A rootin’ tootin’ good time Cowboy Star’s name is inspired by the charm of classic Western movies and their ‘cowboy [movie] stars.’ Without knowing more about Cowboy Star, one might consider: “Wow, Justin, why did you bring your fiancée to a cowboy-themed restaurant where some guy in a tiny cowboy hat calls you Hoss and grits his teeth every time he’s forced to say ‘I reckon’?” I didn’t! Cowboy Star pulls it off in a classy, effortless way. Nothing is TOO cowboy. Instead of Wild Wild West, it’s probably just Wild West. Just one wild. Anyway, this place is perfect to celebrate a milestone in your life. For us, it was our engagement, but for you, maybe it’s an anniversary, a regular date, or you’re just celebrating how much you like steak. And really, you should. Cowboy Star has an in-house butcher, so you’re getting fresh cuts here. In my opinion, that makes it the best steakhouse in San Diego. It doesn’t need the frills of some of the other steakhouses. The beef speaks for itself. My brand new fiancée and I got appetizer of French onion soup and beef tartare. The soup was very good. The beef tartare came with amazing bread and both were so fresh. We also both got steak, which was the (cowboy) star of the show. I’m sorry for the previous sentence. I felt like I had to. The drinks were top notch too. And our server did our best to make the evening special, which made the experience stand out. Did he bring us champagne? Yes. Did he wish us a happy anniversary? Also yes. Technically, it was the year-zero anniversary of our engagement, so he wasn’t 100% wrong. The attempt was there. Anyway, I’d highly recommend Cowboy Star. The booths are large, the steaks are tasty, and the yeehaws are all in your head.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, located in the lively Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, is a renowned dining destination celebrated for its premium steaks and extensive wine collection. This upscale establishment specializes in USDA Prime beef and offers an array of meticulously prepared cuts, along with fresh seafood, inventive starters, and luxurious sweets.
We’ve been coming to Flemings for a couple of decades. The last time was several years ago and we remember having awful service, so we were never in a rush to return. However, we figured we’d give it another try to celebrate our anniversary dinner. And it did not disappoint! Everything was stellar (minus the wedge salad, as it was your average wedge, nothing to write home about). The maitake mushrooms are a must- lightly battered and deep fried with aioli and fried basil. The classic Flemings potatoes were delicious per usual, and our steak experience was melt-in-your-mouth and cooked to perfection (medium rare for both ribeye & filet mignon). We skipped the standard steakhouse dessert offerings and made our way to Extraordinary Desserts for our after dinner treats. The service was on point, courtesy provided by our server Robert, who also fancied us with complimentary champagne to toast our anniversary. Thank you, Flemings!

I had the best birthday experience! I love my waiter. I really really wish I could remember his name. He was cute and Filipino.🥰 and very knowledgeable about everything when we needed to send things back he was not irritated. He was just very friendly and I love him and I love the restaurant was delicious. The steak was perfect. The size

Fleming’s in the heart of downtown San Diego delivered an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The steaks were cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Every bite was spot-on and exactly what you’d expect from a high-end steakhouse. The side dishes complemented the meal beautifully, adding richness and variety without overshadowing the main course. From the moment we were seated, the service was impeccable—attentive, professional, and friendly. The fresh bread and carefully chosen wine selection paired perfectly with the meal, making the whole evening feel extra special. We finished with the crème brûlée, which was outstanding—creamy, smooth, and topped with that perfect caramelized crunch. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, and being right in the middle of San Diego’s downtown made the location even more appealing. Fleming’s truly stands out not only for its excellent food but also for creating a complete dining experience where every detail is thoughtfully taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an elevated night out.
Ruta P — Google review
A place that radiates luxury, bespoke style, and a sense of timelessness. We were treated well, and as far as I could tell, the food was quite good. Not cheap, but then again it's one of those once a decade experiences.

Fleming’s was hands-down one of the best steakhouse experiences I’ve had in a very long time. The steak was absolutely unforgettable — cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and the kind of meal I’ll be thinking about for a long time. From the moment we sat down, the experience was top-notch. The hot bread they brought out to start was incredible — fresh, warm, and served with a rich Cabernet onion–infused butter that was out of this world. It set the tone for an exceptional meal. Our server, David, and his brother made the evening even more enjoyable. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the different cuts of meat and walked us through an impressive wine selection that perfectly complemented our meal. Their genuine passion for great food and service really stood out. Everything from the ambiance to the attention to detail made this a top-tier dining experience. Fleming’s is definitely a place I’m already looking forward to returning to — next time, I’ll be bringing friends so they can see what they’ve been missing.

ASK FOR QUAN! When we made it to our 9pm reservation (at 905), we were seated by 909pm. We weren't seen to until 917pm. When quan walked over and saw that we weren't seen to yet, he made it his top priority to make up for the minor delay. He literally saved the day! All of his recommendations were tip notch! He is very knowledgeable, respectful, delightful, kind and considerate!. The short rib was to die for! The lava cake was amazing! The sea bass was very unique and the flavor profile went very well!. The asparagus could have been seasoned better but still delicious. The Brussel sprouts were really good! Eat the more crispy ones first!. Will visit again! Thanks for a great time. Made our 3yr anniversary much worth

Steak house
Born and Raised is a modern, spacious steakhouse that offers high-end steaks and cocktails in a glamorous setting. The restaurant exudes a 1920s vibe with tuxedoed waiters, opulent decor, and stiff drinks. The Art Deco-inspired entryway leads to a regal dining room with leather booths, travertine-topped tables, and brass accents.
When you come here, you absolutely must order the steak, but I highly recommend trying the hash brown. It is far exceeded my expectations. Additionally, I think the carrot cake is a standout. As someone who isn’t usually a fan of carrot cake, I found that following the staff’s recommendation was definitely the right choice this time. The cake is fluffy and the cream’s sweet-tart balance is perfectly executed. Even though I was already quite full, I couldn’t bear to leave it behind and ended up taking some home to enjoy slowly later.
Kwan L — Google review
We came to Born and Raised for my husband’s birthday and had another amazing experience. The dry-aged bone-in ribeye was cooked exactly as ordered (medium rare plus) and had incredible flavor. We shared baked mac & cheese, dirty hashbrowns, potato au gratin, marrow with escargot, and everything was rich and satisfying—though the au gratin was saltier than usual. Drinks were excellent—French 75 was refreshing, the mojito was spot-on, and the espresso martini was strong but enjoyable. Service was outstanding, and the birthday macaron at the end was a thoughtful touch. This isn’t our first visit and definitely won’t be our last. Four stars for now, with full confidence they’ll earn a five next time.
Kristina P — Google review
Born and Raised was the pinnacle of our amazing visit to San Diego. Paxton was our server and seemed psychic with his food recommendations. The steak sampler was our best choice. I loved the dry aged NY strip which they age in house. Of course my wife liked the Japanese Wagu. The building is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever dined! The water closets were painted by a local Barrio Logan auto painter. The dining room was over the top art deco. Think Great Gatsby. Jose the manager took hospitality to the next level. More like ten levels up! We have never been treated so well or felt so at home than we did in his care. Every barstool, table, napkin, plate and, yes, toilet seat had the Born And Raised touch. We have been to top notch restaurants around the globe and this was by far the best dining experience we have ever had. Thank you so much Paxton and Jose for the night of our lives.
Mike M — Google review
Service was impeccable! Scott was great, very personable and knowledgeable of the menu. We began with the bread and the yellowtail crudo. The bread was the oerfect amount if garlicly and fluffy. I don't do raw fish, but tried the crudo and it was so tender! Our entree was the 20oz bone in ribeye medium rare. It was cooked to perfection! We did try all 4 of the sauces but honestly the dry-age steak needed no extra flavor. For our sides we had the mushrooms in a delicious sauce, the broccolini with a spicy chilean sauce, and the Mac and cheese. For dessert we tried the carrot cake and the cheesecake. You cannot go wrong with either. The carrot cake had a wonderful creamy cinnamon taste. The yuzu cheesecake had a distinct but not overpowering citrus flavor. The decor was very fun. The music was a tad loud, it was difficult to hear the sommelier and our server when he was explaining the desserts. The lighting at the table was slightly too dim, making it a little difficult to see what we were cutting while eating our steak.
Brittany G — Google review
I love the burgundy snail with bone marrow. The snails were on top of a huge bone. It was so delicious. I wish they could give us a large portion or more bread. I had the steak sampler which contains four types of steaks. The best is supposed to be Japanese wagyu beef which has the most fat. It tastes similar as the beef skewers.
Selena G — Google review
Went here for my sons 17th birthday. Food was so delicious, the beef wellington was so perfect and they steak sampler is a must. You also have to try the dirty hashbrown, perfect combo with steak. Service was also exceptional, they always come by and check on us. My son also got a birthday greeting card at the beggining and also got a macaron and candle for his bday.
Francis F — Google review
We celebrated our anniversary here and this was the first restaurant to actually read and take time to acknowledge my selection on open table. They wrote us the most adorable card! Our waiter was so fantastic and so attentive! The food! Oh you MUST get the Mac and cheese you will not be disappointed! The filet was delicious and well prepared I normally don’t like a lot of pink in my steak but it was cool so good that I said okay I’ll dive in and try this! All in all a fantastic place to have a delicious steak, divine Mac and cheese, and to be treated with attentive care from all staff!

Not only did he walk us through the menu but he gave us a thorough recommendations that were delicious. And I'm not talking about the ones you get off of TikTok that everybody else gets. No, his recommendations were good and delicious. He made our night. We, want to say thank you so much. So, having him as a server is just a delight on a great evening and a rememberable memory. Thank you born and raised. I will definitely be going to some of the recommendations that Karla gave us. Please start selling the macaroons by the dozen or half dozen. They were the best I've ever tasted kudos to your bakery chef. I think we probably would have bought a dozen to take home.

Double date night with great friends. Previously I have always walked by this place, NOT KNOWING, how great it realy is. It's reasonably prices for a stake house and all the glam. Rob, at the bar was friendly and knows how to make a great old fashioned. All staff was friendly and helpful with information 👍 🙂

Great vibe to this restaurant! Joe, our server, was amazing! We had wagyu and a bone in tenderloin and both were cooked perfectly. The manager was great even serving us drinks at the bar after our meal. Would definitely recommend!

The steak was great but Everything costs an arm and a leg! Saw some black tiny bugs flying above us while we were having dinner…was not as a fancy place as we thought it would be Only 1 restroom for women and 1 for men for 150 more or less guests? Unclean.

Really good food, atmosphere and service!!! Happy hour is amazing with food and drink prices. We'll worth the visit, nice bar and look. Bartenders and wait staff very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend a visit!!!

Great service from Frenchie, my dry aged Ribeye was cooked to perfection, cocktail and beer list was really great too! The atmosphere is fun and modern but also feels very classic!

The halal wagyu option drew me in. However, left feeling completely ripped off. Went for the date night special, expecting not to pay too much more than their promotion of $99. Since only their wagyu is halal, I asked if we can swap their new york steak option for wagyu. Our server (think he was French) said he'll have to ask the manager. He confirmed she said OK, but there'll be a slight surcharge. I understand some options like wagyu tartare and steak would be extra. But that surcharge just for us to get 1 wagyu swapped with the NY steak cost an extra $60! Our other dish was a salmon which was pretty good but overcooked. So that date night special ended up costing over $200 (after tip)! The tartare was good but wagyu ribeye was nothing special, and definitely not worth the outrageous extra charge they did!

I visited during restaurant week and was surprised to hear it wasn’t really being “promoted,” even though it was listed online. The food was disappointing overall. My steak, which I specifically ordered medium-well, came out completely well-done. The restaurant was very crowded, so perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed, but the quality didn’t match the price point. The saving grace of the night was the bartender, great service and very accommodating.

My daughter wanted to try Wagyu beef for her 12th birthday (today). I have never tried it but I've always been interested so what the heck. I found Greystone online, it was the closest to our hotel that served Wagyu beef. I mentioned her birthday in the reservation and they had a card for her. They Sat us promptly and our waiter Dennis explained the difference between Australian and Japanese Wagyu and helped us figure out what to order. The restaurant was beautiful but there were some drunk rowdy men watching the Padres game. Dennis re-sat us upstairs so my daughter could enjoy a nice upscale birthday dinner. The other server, I think her name was Priscilla was wonderful and sweet to my daughter. Then the food came. It was soooooo amazing. The steak was rich and buttery and perfectly seasoned, the asparagus has the perfect bite and the Brussels sprouts were to die for. Oh and the bread ..warm out of the oven!! Chef's kiss. Then they brought her a slice of the most delicious cake for her birthday. She wanted an amazing grown up dinner and BOY did they deliver. Now I just need someone to take me there for my birthday ☺️.

Turf Supper Club, located in the historic district of Golden Hill in San Diego, offers a unique steakhouse experience. This 21+ spot features a retro cocktail lounge and cowboy-themed decor. Guests can grill their own high-quality raw meats to their preference on a self-serve grill. The restaurant is known for its interactive dining concept and is popular among both locals and tourists.
Visiting this place is like stepping back in time. I had the best steak I've had in ages, and the best part about it is I grilled it myself! I came with three friends from work and we all loved it! The service was super friendly and the drinks were good too! I'd definitely be a regular if I lived in the area. Looking forward to bringing more friends when I'll be back in town later this year!

An incredibly fun experience! It sounds simple on the outset - a place where you grill your own steaks! Who would want to do that when you go out to eat?! But you mix in the ambience of the supper club environment, the red lighting, the great drinks - and you end up with such a fun and unique experience. Steaks are as good as you make and season them and sides are fine. Parking is an absolute nightmare, if we came again we would uber. Service was good but limited in what they are doing for you since you are going up and cooking yourself! A must do experience in San Diego!

Been here a couple times now. Its a fun experience, cool dark spot with full bar and old school 70s vibes. Cooking your own steak makes a difference, you get it the way you want or you mess it up really bad haha. The service is quick and friendly. Fun place to take a date!

This is a small location with strong retro vibes. Bar seating and lounge type couches for the booths. The star of the show is the grill in center, so bring your best grilling skills and appetite.

I haven't been to the Turf Club in 30 years. Back then, it was a charming, warm, friendly environment with great food and fantastic cocktails. I don't know why you crossed my mind today. But, I'm so happy to read the great reviews and know you're still in business. I live on the east coast now, if I ever get back to San Diego, I'm gonna share your experience with my beautiful wife. Thank you for the great memories. Love the Turf Club!

Classic cocktails and grill your own steaks! Perfect for an interactive date night. I love the dark, old school feel. The old fashioned was tasty and I did the surf and turf (small steak with a salmon veggie skewer) which also comes with garlic bread you grill. A fun place!

While exploring Seaport Village we decided to make last minute reservations here. I’ve known of Ruth’s Chris forever, but this is the first time I popped into one This location is prime San Diego real estate overlooking the Bay and out towards Coronado Island. The layout is a little bizarre as the entire lobby downstairs is bare other than a staircase, restrooms, and light decor. You walk upstairs into the main dining area, but the hostess stand is up the stairs and all the way to the back. This was confusing to me. I would have assumed they would put it either downstairs in the lobby or just at the top of the stairs. There wasn’t a noticeable sign indicating where to go either The dining area was elegant and very intimately lit. I had known that this was a “fancy” steakhouse chain, but I didn’t expect it to feel as “stuffy” like a formal dining area on a cruise ship (unnecessarily formal for what it is). The menu offers all the cuts of steak you would expect, sides, appetizers, and other entrees. The cocktail menu was underwhelming, but with “NYC style pricing.” One thing I don’t love with “fancy steakhouses” is having everything a la carte. I like having at least a side of veggies, asparagus, or a Caesar salad without having to build my meal piece by piece. We weren’t incredibly hungry, so, we just ordered two filets and some garlic mashed potatoes to share. I will say everything tasted delicious. I have no notes. Was it the best steak I’ve ever had? No. But it was delicious. Also, they provide a complimentary bread and butter basket while you’re waiting for your food and drinks The service was good. We got our meal and everything in a timely manner and there weren’t any issues. Our server was a little bizarre though. I don’t know how to articulate exactly what it was, but this individual made me uncomfortable. They took the order professionally, offered suggestions, and tried to be friendly, but everything this person was saying was some what confusing in terms of verbiage and the demeanor was trying to be “fine dining” but it really came off as creepy and uncomfortable. Again, I can’t exactly put it into words, they were absolutely trying to be friendly and a good server, but every interaction just felt off, and we were just waiting for this person to leave us alone again I don’t know that I would go back to a Ruth’s Chris myself, but I will say it’s probably a nice date or celebratory spot for anyone that likes to feel as if they’re dining in a fancy restaurant. I think at this point in my life that’s just not me. I enjoy an elevated dining experience, but I like a little more flair or personality, and less of a stuffy and overly priced steakhouse chain feeling Some tips: If you are celebrating something special you should let them know in advance as they try to accommodate and add some celebratory flair to the meal if they know in advance. We parked near the Unconditional Surrender statue as we were exploring, so, we didn’t have to deal with parking at the restaurant. Also, try to snag or reserve a window seat to get a better view of the waterfront (especially at sunset) Cheers!!

Celebrating my birthday at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Harbor Point, San Diego was an absolute delight! The atmosphere is breathtaking, with an elegant yet cozy vibe that’s perfect for special occasions. The food was phenomenal—steaks were perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and well worth the price. The service was exceptional; the servers were not only kind and attentive but also incredibly sweet to my kids, making the experience even more memorable for our family. Booking was effortless, thanks to my husband’s smooth experience, and the complimentary dessert of my choice was a lovely birthday treat. Ruth’s Chris truly excels in every way, delivering a top-notch dining experience. Highly recommend for families and special occasions alike!

Our first time to this well-known eatery. This is a steakouse so their steaks are delicious but $$$. We made reservations for our 35th anniversary & I will say, the one thing that can screw up your meal is disappointing service. We don't drink alcohol & I feel that some servers see a part of their tip lost if you avoid $17-25 drinks, so they tend to under-serve. My water glass was left unfilled for quite a while until I asked another waiter for water. Our waiter actually walked by & did not give us a second look as he cared for others. It was disappointing to say the least. That said, the food was excellent, steak tender & delicious, salads were tasty, sides were really good & complimentary dessert creme brulee was a real treat. A very nice treat for any occasion.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. Whip a stunning view. I was San Diego Bay. It is fantastic, especially at night when the bay is lit up. The steak was the best I had while in san diego. The sides were simple but meant to worship the main dish. The service was right on.I never had to ask to refill my cup. The quality was of the utmost, and you could tell the chefs in the kitchen shared a passion for beautiful food! Give it a try. You will not regret it.

The views at this location are breath taking. We enjoyed every moment from arrival to departure with above that was to notch. Menu has a lovely variety of options and a great new option with a 3 course meal with upgrades for all chances to enjoy the menu items. Special occasions treated with intimacy and thoughtfulness. Won't ever stop coming here. Both pictures are filet mignon with Brussel sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes.

The table we were sat at was an odd shape being a corner booth but it did feel separated from one side to the other because of the size. The backdrop of the harbor at night was beautiful staff and our waiter was great. The food was fantastic as expected. Our party liked to share so we had the pleasure to try the calamari (Asian day sauce flavor) and artichoke dip (which was more on the chunky side) booth really good.... oh, and the bread and butter was amazing. We also tried the salmon and shrimp, Tomahawk Ribeye, Mac and cheese, sweet potato, all delicious. The shrimp was oder cooked for my liking but still great flavor. For dessert we got to try the Crème brûlée which was great. Over all we had a great time, great food, great service. Great place to celebrate a birthday.

Shared the 22 oz rib eye with my hunny. Deeelicious! Perfectly cooked, thick cut and juicy. The creamed spinach wasn't as good as I remember. The atmosphere wasn't so bad, it's just a bit loud, however, it consists more of many mumbled conversations vs. high pitched. Service is always superb.

We came for the Friday lunch special. It was $27.95 this included 5 different cuts of meat plus the whole hot and cold bar. All of the meats were delicious, but my personal favorite was the picanha. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Sydney N — Google review
Everything was was fairly delicious, their cold bar and hot bar foods were interesting. Honestly though, if you were to get your money's worth, don't even bother with the sides if you can help it. Now grab a little bit of starch in case the meats are too salty, which I don't think any of them were. You can taste the meat flavor which is nice. Went right towards the end of the lunch special, but I guess on a Thursday afternoon, it wasn't too busy, so service was pretty good. The guy who brings the meats around was probably the highlight of the service, super kind, and always willing to give more meat. Sadly I got too many sides, and got to full too quick. 🥲 Go hungry, it's like Korean BBQ(Yakiniku) but served table side. So all you can eat meats. Come hungry. Now again, I'm sure the meat run around will be a lot less frequent if the place is busier, but probably not by much. Ordered the lunch buffet thing, all the meats were great, the sausage has a good flavor, the meats had good meat flavor. Lol lots of fat if you like that. Anyways interesting experience. Price, very high if you don't eat what you paid for. 😝 Nice staff though, which always is a huge plus!
S T — Google review
The meat was spectacular; although the salad bar was a bit lacking. For the price you’d expect there to be crab but Atleast the baked salmon was good. The experience was very nice and the ambiance was great but not good for photos. It’s a cool way to try some meats and the time in-between getting food is not as long as I’d thought! It’s quick and easy to get your food. The customer service is spectacular, even when you think you can’t eat anymore and someone comes by with some meat you haven’t tried they’ll nudge you to try just a tiny piece. Very friendly and hard working people.

A really great place to experience something different. The salad bar is so fresh and full of flavor. You'll enjoy a meat extravaganza where the servers will come to your table with meat on skewers. They will then carve a piece for you to eat. They served many different cuts of Brazilian Beef, but my best was the ribeye. When drank with some red wine, it was like heaven. I couldn't resist the lobster to finish off the meal. For what you get the price is very reasonable and the setting is very nice. You really need to come to this place if you're visiting the Gaslamp area.
Wing C — Google review
We ate a late lunch here. It took about 10 minutes for our service to begin, thus the 4 star rating. The servers were professional. There were over a dozen selections of meats that were brought to select from, and the pineapple was fabulous. There is a hot and cold buffet bar, and cheese rolls are brought to the table. They were exceptional in service with a food allergy and a cook personally showed us what items on the buffet bars had the food item in the dishes or not. Parking - The server said we could get our parking stamped for free if we parked caddy corner across the street. We did not know this beforehand. It cost us $30.00 to park two blocks away. This Brazilian restaurant was similar but not nearly as authentic to the Brazilian BBQ restaurant we dined at in Brasil.

Amazing anniversary dinner. Delicious steak and great options of salads, we had plenty good food. I highly recommend this place. The area can be a little rough at night. We spend 160$ for all you can eat steak and seafood for two.
The O — Google review
I went for dinner and I was not disappointed. Started off with salad and seafood bar. I had some shrimp and salmon. Then came the meats... My pictures don’t do the meats justice. They were super delicious. The portions are generous. If you want to make it through all they offer, ask for smaller portions and try to keep track of which meats you enjoy. Remember to pace yourself. It’s a marathon, not a race when eating here. I will definitely come here again. Great waitress and waiters. My drink was always refilled promptly. Good servers. They cut portions to my liking. Definitely recommend.
Broncho D — Google review
The ambiance and vibes are definitely off in here because the quality of the meet doesn’t match the decor. It’s the type of decor that gives the rustic, historical vibe but not quite spot-on with it. They would benefit from a makeover to match the food. The salad bar was average but two items to look for—the chimichurri and the small red Brazilian peppers were out of this world. The meat itself was all around good. We had to request a couple items to try out. The beef they did well on. Our particular dinner came with a full lobster, which was cool. The item for the red card/green card was the sausage! So fresh and delicious! Well done.

From start to finish, my experience at Fogo de Chão was absolutely incredible! The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always making sure we had everything we needed. The variety and quality of the meats were unmatched: perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, and served nonstop. The Market Table was fresh and full of delicious options that complemented the meal beautifully. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, making it perfect for both special occasions and casual nights out. Every bite felt like a true experience, and I left more than satisfied. Highly recommend Fogo de Chão to anyone looking for amazing food, excellent service, and an unforgettable dining experience.

We recently went to Fogo de Chão and decided to try the Market Table (salad bar) for about $20. Honestly, it was more than enough food and such a good value. The selection was fresh and delicious — everything from mixed salads to cold pastas, cheeses, and even a charcuterie-style spread with meats and cheeses. I especially enjoyed the lentil soup, which was comforting and flavorful. On top of the Market Table, they also brought out fried bananas, plantains, and mashed potatoes to our table, which was a nice surprise and made the meal feel complete. At one point, the waitress asked if we wanted a shrimp cocktail, which we didn’t realize was extra at first — glad we asked before agreeing. Just a heads up for anyone dining there, some items are additional. We went because we heard about their lunch special ($47 for the full churrasco experience with all the different Brazilian meats), but we were just looking for something lighter and different that day. The $20 Market Table ended up being perfect for us. Great food, generous portions, and definitely worth it if you’re not in the mood for the full experience but still want to enjoy the quality that Fogo de Chão is known for.

Nestled in the vibrant Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego, Morton's The Steakhouse stands out as a premier destination for steak lovers and seafood enthusiasts alike. This upscale chain is celebrated for its USDA Prime aged beef, expertly grilled to perfection, alongside a selection of fresh seafood and delectable desserts. The restaurant's sophisticated atmosphere is complemented by attentive service and an impressive wine list, making it an ideal spot for everything from romantic dinners to business meetings or special celebrations.
I don’t even know where to begin with how excellent our rehearsal dinner at Morton’s was. We had an intimate group of 25 and it was absolutely perfect. The food was 11/10, the ambiance a full 15/10, and the service was through the roof. We had a private space with a customized three-course menu, signature drinks with personalized names, and a staff that was incredibly attentive and warm. You could genuinely feel the happiness and care from everyone there—it was the best service I’ve ever experienced for a private event. I cannot recommend this classy, top-tier establishment enough, especially if you're planning a wedding rehearsal dinner.

We asked for recommendations for a good steak restaurant at our hotel, and we were recommended this place. We didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to squeeze us in at 9pm, and we had a nice wait at the bar with a glass of Saint-Émilion. We had a very (if maybe slightly over) attentive server, who was very helpful and explained the menu clearly. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly medium rare. The fries and onion rings were top notch, the creamed spinach was ok… we’ve had better. We really wish our server had reminded us how big the sides in the US are, we really tried, but could not finish. It’s a shame to see great food go to waste. The restaurant and bar were really busy with a great vibe. This did die down by the time we left, as to be expected when you have a late booking. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but would recommend for anyone wanting a slightly more special meal… for us, a great way to finish off a fantastic two weeks in the USA.

Ok people. Listen carefully. Do not walk…….I REALLY need you to RUN to Morton’s!! My husband and I dined there last night (10/4/2025) to celebrate 32 years of togetherness. From the moment we pulled up, the service was impeccable. Our table was set up so nicely and Nick was our server. Let me tell you……that Nick knows what he’s doing!!!!!! We felt so special. Although it was packed, we felt like the only ones there. My hubby has already deemed it “Our Place”. Thank y’all so much for your hospitality.

Will definitely recommend this steakhouse for special occasions.

Was here on vacation last week, wanted to have a nice dinner so we made a reservation. Food was great! Unfortunately service was awful. Chip was our server & initially he approached our table within good time the first 2 times. After that he approached us maybe every 40 mins unless we specifically called out for him. I used to be a server so I understand it can get busy, etc. We had a late reservation & there were not many tables. There was no reason to barely come to our table. Whenever we asked for something it would also take him 15+ mins to bring us what we asked for. Ex, waiting 15mins for a straw. Would go back, would make sure we didn’t have him.

Candace provided us with superb service she made the experience at Morton's a wonderful experience. I had the Cajun rib eye and my husband had the Midwest ribeye hands down to the chef, he cooked our steaks to perfection. The chopped salad is so delicious I definitely recommend it. Morton's never disappoints Dinner was great. Since it was the last day of San Diego restaurant week, it was a little tough to get a reservation. I arrived a little early and had a shrimp cocktail and a drink at the bar. For my entree I had the filet Oscar with potato - these were delicious. For dessert I had the key lime (which I ended up taking home and eating it the next day since I was full) - it was very good as well

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse is a lavish chain restaurant known for its prime steaks, seafood, and extensive wine selection. Situated at the InterContinental hotel with stunning views of the downtown waterfront, it offers an upscale dining experience. The menu features dry-aged rib eye and a delectable seafood tower with various offerings like lobster tails, jumbo shrimp, oysters, Alaskan king crab legs, and more. The restaurant's sleek architecture and modern decor complement its exemplary service.
We had a great dinner at this steakhouse—the steaks were cooked perfectly and full of flavor! The overall meal was definitely on the rich side, so come hungry or be ready to pace yourself. We admittedly ordered way too much food for just the two of us, but the portions were generous and the leftovers lasted us for days—which we’re not mad about! Our server was very kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. All in all, it was a satisfying and indulgent experience, perfect for a special night out!

As I would expect, I enjoyed very much my dinner at Del Frisco. Nice decoration with a quiet atmosphere, the team was very attentive and addressed all my requests. The bone-in ribeye was incredibly tasty. I asked it rare and it was perfectly prepared. The wild mushrooms were pretty good too!

We came here for a dinner date and loved the ambiance—our table had an incredible view of the bay, and watching the sunset while we ate made the whole experience feel extra special and romantic. I ordered the filet mignon, and it was absolutely perfect. Well-seasoned, tender, and flavorful—I even got garlic butter on the side, but honestly didn’t need it at all. That’s how good it was. Unfortunately, my husband’s experience wasn’t quite as smooth. He ordered the 45-day dry-aged steak, medium, but it came out very rare. A bit of a letdown considering how much we were looking forward to trying it. Overall, the atmosphere and my dish were great, but a little more attention to detail on the steak temperatures would’ve made it perfect.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Del Friscos where Gaven was our server, and I must say, the experience was outstanding. From the moment we were seated, Gaven's warm and friendly demeanor set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was top-notch. Not only was the service exceptional, but the food was also absolutely delicious. Every dish that we ordered was thoughtfully prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From the appetizers to the main course to dessert, each bite was a culinary delight that left us wanting more. The BUTTER CAKE IS A MUST! If you're looking for a place with great food and excellent service, be sure to visit Del Friscos and ask for Gaven as your server. You won't be disappointed!!!

Definitely recommend this place for rooftop dining, a family outing or a romantic date. We indulged in the famous addictive melt in your mouth bread and toasted to the best espresso martinis in the city. The combination of their seafood and steak selection is unparalleled. The thick cut bacon that’s sous vide for two days and dressed in a smoked bourbon molasses sauce is unlike anything we’ve ever tried. A special thank you management team, Peter, who was remarkable in making sure our evening was top tier, from making the reservation to continuously checking on us to make sure the service and was up to standards. He also recommended the perfect wine selection to pair with the dishes. Thank you Riley for the kindness and humor while delivering bread to us multiple times, warning us how we may eat a whole loaf to ourselves (which we did) & to the amazing talent, our ears are still ringing with joy and we can’t wait to hear you again! I can’t thank you all enough for making our night unforgettable.

The server was very attentive, he was great. We started with the Shanghai calamari- very tasteful and for drinks- 24k margarita. I really was looking towards a great dinner till we got our tasteless dry with no flavor steak, creamy way too creamy corn with no flavor and the DRY BURNT, not roasted but bitter mushroom that we did not even touch! We pretty much just had the drink and the calamari. We walked in hungry and walked out starving. I am not sure what happened to this place but definitely not going back.

The steak was good but not my best. The food is delicious and we had so much fun seating at the bar. The bartender was super helpful and attentive. We had a wonderful date.

After running LA Marathon, I was famished and this was the first restaurant I encountered on Century City. I decided not to look any farther. The location ( except for the steep steps up) was perfect! The seating seemed comfortable, almost homey yet the place was sophisticated enough for the wine connoisseur or just a hungry lady like me who only care for any food that can be available. Surprise, the boiled garlic oyster was superb in taste served in 5 oyster shells and my Prime Rib Steak was rich in flavor! I had mashed potatoes on the side and even that, didn’t fail. For someone on the hunt for affordable meals, this is a royal treat specially after burning 2,700 calories on that 26.2 miles! If you’re in the area, give this place a try. Service was friendly and speedy , food was amazing, just bring your cc’s ! :)

Nestled in the vibrant Kearny Mesa neighborhood of San Diego, The Butcher Shop is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates the art of steak. This unique establishment combines the charm of a classic chophouse with the functionality of a butcher shop, allowing guests to savor expertly grilled meats while also taking home premium cuts. The ambiance is reminiscent of an elegant Rat Pack era, featuring dim lighting and plush red leather booths that create an inviting atmosphere perfect for indulging in hearty meals.
Old charm restaurant, delicious food, great service, reasonable price. I really enjoyed my dining experience. The old vibe was my favorite. Great place I highly recommend!

We went because of the great reviews to celebrate a birthday but were disappointed. The host was very scattered and confused. We had a review on Open Table and he didn’t check our name and we had designated a special birthday. It took us awhile to get seated and he was just going back and forth and just seemed very befuddled. Our waitress must have had too many tables because service was extremely slow. We had to ask for water 3 times before we got it. The food itself was very good. The steaks were good and two of us got fish. We also ordered dessert which was good. The steaks were a little too done compared to what was asked, but the fish was very tasty. We started with the parmesean bread and that was very good. The food is good but the experience overall was not exceptional. The waitress uniform was very skimpy for a steak house while the male waitors wore long shirts and long pants it seemed demeaning to the female staff. The boys should have to wear short shorts if the girls have to.
Ginger G — Google review
The boys started taking me here for hydraulic lunches a few decades ago and that is how I've always thought of it as. Wifey returns home from a short trip and she's hungry, she enjoys red meat and we drive past it on our way home. Stopped in, immediately seated, service was excellent, wifey ordered the prime rib, I ordered the Wagu strip steak. This is an old school chophouse and the atmosphere hasn't changed since I began frequenting this place and that's kool. Wifey loved the prime rib. The $105 Wagu strip was ordered more rare than medium and came already sliced, which i wasn't a fan of. It was a touch tough, and this could be because having lived/worked in Japan several times over the decades I maybe be a little jaded. Wagu came al carte and this wasn't shared and I didn't read the fine print. Overall it was good, and wifey still raves about the prime rib. It's always been good overall but, I'm just sour over a mediocre $105 steak. We will return.

Celebrated my birthday at The Butcher Shop and it was so good! We really enjoyed the food, everything was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was cozy, the staff were friendly, and sharing the night with good company made it extra special. I felt so grateful for the love, laughter, and all the birthday wishes, definitely a memorable celebration!

Lovely place for a date night or special occasion. The atmosphere has nice ambient lighting with candles and wall lamps. Husband ordered the tomahawk steak, which is HUGE! I had the prime rib. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. Service was fantastic and very attentive.

The prime rib was perfect. I recommend the vanilla gelato for dessert. Our waitress Jacqueline took good care of us. This is a great old school steak house. I do recommend a reservation.

I ate here based on a recommendation from a person who used to live here. When I arrived I was skeptical based on the dated exterior but once inside its a different story. Very clean and food that was prepared to perfection. Thank you for a wonderful meal!!!

My family took me to Butcher Shop to celebrate my birthday. What a treat!! It was so refreshing to walk into a restaurant that was calm and classy. Elegant atmosphere, white tablecloths, no greasy menus, no tattooed servers, baseball capped dudes or people staring into cell phones. From the host at door, to servers, drinks and food everything was top notch. It was what dining should be and more.

Rare Society is a trendy restaurant known for its specialty steaks, seafood, and classic cocktails. The establishment offers wood-fired steaks, Caesar salad with generous pecorino, and family-style sides like truffled creamed spinach and roasted mushrooms with thyme. Chef Brad Wise leads the culinary experience while executive pastry chef Jeremy Harville creates delectable cakes. The restaurant's vintage Rat Pack-inspired ambiance adds to its allure.
100% will eat here again. The wife and I came here for an anniversary and we were not disappointed. Service was literally perfect and food was phenomenal. MUST TRY DESERT. The banana foster cheese cake. They will state it’s a best seller and they are not wrong. You much try it. Food over all is priced well and the portions are big. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner out.

O....m...g. Came here for dinner and I wasn't expecting much because I've never been a steak person, but it was for my husband's birthday and he is. Best decision ever! We started with the blue crab dip and it was perfectly crabby and creamy. So tasty. We then got The Associate Board to share, with a side of whipped potatotes. The board came with some Denver, tri-tip, and rib eye cuts. I think my favorite may have been the Denver and my husband's the Tri-tip. I tried a bit of each sauce it came with though it honestly needed absolutely none. The tomato salsa and steak butter were our favorites though wish it had come with the horseradish to try (comes with the executive board). The whipped potatoes were just that, but oh so tasty. We'll definitely be coming back for another date night!
Kristina S — Google review
The steak was outstanding overall. They definitely use more spices than less. We shared everything family style and only reason I shorted a star was due to the extra spices on ravioli, a bit much cheese on the Caesar, but server did state this in advance. I will definitely be going back. Service was excellent drinks were outstanding had a good wine list.

From the moment we stepped up to the stand, the hostess was unpretentiously pleasant and gathered menus to lead us to our table. She stopped at a “middle of the walkway spot” and while it was definitely fine (adequate space and accommodating seating) I did ask if there was any way we could move to a perimeter table just a couple steps away. It was a 4-top and I have quickly learned that SD spots like to send us to bar seating before giving up a precious 4-top. Not this time! “Of course! Where ever you’re comfortable is where I want you to be.” “Okay, thank you so much. The other table was perfectly fine, I know I’m being weird, but I don’t like feeling as if I’m in the way.” I don’t know why I overshared, but I did. She responded, “You’re never in our way here. Please enjoy your meal.” Okay, no need to give a play by play of all the rest… but our server, his assistant, and anyone else who touched our table were all by far the most exceptionally trained and attentive staff I have ever experienced at any restaurant anywhere in the country. The food was fantastic, as well. Cooked to perfection and wonderfully flavored. We ordered an app, meat board with sides, and a dessert—all exquisite. It healed a little part of me. Their kindness. Their calming presence. Their soul-filling food. 10/10 recommend. **On the way out, I felt compelled to stop at the hostess stand and thank her (she had also come by the table to assist with our initial waters while our server was explaining the menu to a large party). I told her how wonderful our experience was and how she was truly a main reason from the beginning. It turns out she was the manager, so I hope she gave herself all the accolades she deserves.

Had a wonderful experience here from the moment we walked up to the time we left service was above 5 star, all the employees where nice, Matt our server did a excellent job, for being our 1st time there answering all of our questions, as for the food...OH BOY... had to try a few things, it was all delicious, well seasoned and cooked to perfection, can't wait to go back,
David M — Google review
My wife and I decided to try a new steakhouse instead of our usual go-to, Cowboy Star. We wanted a change of scenery, so we ventured out of downtown and headed to Rare Society. We didn’t have reservations, but we were fine with sitting at the bar—honestly, that’s often where the best conversations happen anyway. We kicked things off with a couple of drinks: a whiskey sour and an extra dirty vodka martini. Both were spot on. No complaints here—the whiskey sour was made the right way, shaken with an egg white, which is how it should be. For food, we went with the Cedar River prime ribeye (non-aged). I’m not the biggest fan of dry-aged steaks—they tend to taste a bit gamey to me, which I think is more of an acquired taste. We ordered it cooked medium. The flavor was solid; it could’ve used a touch more salt, but overall, it was good. We also ordered a Caesar salad. It was decent—not amazing, but not bad either. It had a lot of cheese—so much that they might as well rename it the “Cheesy Caesar.” Not a complaint, just an observation. We didn’t try any appetizers or dessert, so I can’t speak to those. Will we go back? Maybe. I wouldn’t mind trying a few more items from the menu. But to be honest, I’d probably rather check out another steakhouse or just stick with Cowboy Star. One heads-up: parking is rough. Most of the street spots were already taken, so consider taking an Uber or getting dropped off. Bon appétit.

Rare Society is top-notch! The service was flawless, and their Caesar salad is truly the best I’ve ever had in the world. The fried anchovies were like crispy anchovy croutons, and the buttery fresh-baked croutons paired perfectly with the creamy mayo-based dressing. Absolute perfection! I'll be back!

Had an amazing experience at Island Prime! The Tomahawk was perfectly cooked — tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The loaded mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious and the perfect side to complement the meal. The staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary extra special with a sweet little celebration that made the night even more memorable. The view was absolutely stunning, with the perfect backdrop for a romantic evening. Our servers were kind, attentive, and prompt throughout the entire night. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — can’t wait to come back!

We started at the bar, try the old fashioned made with wagyu ribeye fat bourbon - sounds strange but it's almost like having a steak with your whiskey! Incredible views from the bar. Our table was a private booth towards the back which I didn't mind but if coming for the views you may require being next to the windows. The food and service I thought were outstanding. Try the prime trio 3oz cuts with Blue cheese/crab/mushrooms, it was cooked perfectly and not rushed out. They waited until we were done with our appetizer, and the crusted brie with honey garlic did not disappoint. I'd probably skip the scampi next time. The jumbo shrimp were good but the sauce was a bit bland compared to the other courses I tried here. Go steak! 2 of us could have easily shared the trio. We couldn't eat it all and ordered 2 much. The bill with drinks was about $150 per person.

My experience at Sea Level on Harbor Island today was absolutely outstanding! Our server, Nick, provided excellent service—attentive, friendly, and professional. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared, with a presentation that was spot on. The portions were huge, which is a great value. Everything was also reasonably priced, a welcome bonus these days. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious drinks and the most beautiful atmosphere. Dining here offers an incredible view of the ships in the Bay. We can't wait to go back!

Celebrating 23 years of marriage tonight, we chose Island Prime; a great decision! The food was absolutely amazing, the views were breathtaking, and the service overall was very good. Our waiter was friendly, professional, and attentive, which made the evening enjoyable. We enjoyed the filet mignon and scallops! However, the experience started on a slightly off note — the hostesses didn’t greet us, so we ended up greeting them first. A warm welcome would set the tone for the exceptional experience that follows. Additionally, while our waiter was excellent, we did feel a bit rushed to place our dinner order, which took away from the otherwise relaxed ambiance we enjoying our drinks to. All in all, Island Prime delivers on its reputation for fantastic food and views. With just a bit more attention at the host stand and a touch more breathing room when ordering, it could be a flawless experience. Oh, watch out for the phantom 5% extra fee they add to the bill. We do recommend the Island Prime experience!

Let me start off by saying that SETH and company were absolutely amazing tonight! Seth was very attentive and explained the menu VERY well and very knowledgeable of everything in house! He made us feel welcomed and right at home! Every recommendation he made, it delivered! The cooks are amazing. My only complaint would have to be THINNER asparagus needed!! The food came out in a very timely manner! We will most definitely be visiting this location again

I’ve eaten at countless restaurants over my 31 years, but nothing and I mean nothing compares to the calamari here. It was hands-down the best calamari I’ve ever had in my life: perfectly crisp, tender, and seasoned to absolute perfection. If I could give it 100stars, I would! The coconut shrimp was also out of this world lightly breaded, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And the fish and chips (with hush puppies!) were equally fantastic. Every dish was clearly made with care, love, and skill. If you’re looking for a place that knows how to do seafood right, this is it. I’ll be dreaming about that calamari until my next visit! Shout out to Chef Deborah!!!

My wife and I came here for our Anniversary dinner. It was our first time eating at an Eddie V’s restaurant. We’ve heard good things about it so we decided to try it. When I made my reservation, I notified them that we were celebrating our anniversary. Upon arrival, we were seated right away and the restaurant had a very nice surprise at our table. There were rose petals all over the table and a card from the management congratulating us for the date. Our server was very courteous and recommended several dishes. We decided to get the Surf N Turf which was the Chef’s special. The food tasted great and our drinks were fantastic. I personally loved the “private plane”. Very good bourbon cocktail. The only down side was the atmosphere. We were seated next to a large group of people. Over 10 people. It was a bit louder than I would of liked it to be for such an important dinner.

This was an amazing experience. We went for our 11th anniversary, which was a perfect choice. The environment is enjoyable, live music was a vibe, and the food is phenomenal. Service was a exquisite, really felt honored to be apart of this experience. They left roses and a card for our celebration and complimented some treats to celebrate with us. Service alone was unmatched. I had the filet and my wife had the filet & shrimp, we were completely satisfied. Don't miss out, book your reservation soon!

I felt like a vip dining out eating incredible food while listening to that smooth voice.

Where do I begin... Over the 4th of July, my wife and I traveled to San Diego with some close friends to celebrate their 50th anniversary. One evening, we chose to dine at Eddie V’s—and it turned out to be the perfect decision. We started with a trio of appetizers: raw oysters, crab cakes, and ahi tuna tartare. Each one was absolutely outstanding and paired beautifully with the stunning ocean view, which set the tone for the rest of the evening. For our entrées, we enjoyed filet mignon with scallops, lamb chops, truffle mac and cheese, and au gratin cheddar potatoes. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. To top it all off, we shared the Meyer lemon tart for dessert—and just thinking about it still makes my mouth water! Our server (forgive me for not recalling her name) made the night even more special by surprising our friends with a beautiful dessert and a heartfelt “Happy Anniversary.” Her service was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive. She anticipated every need without being overbearing, which is a rare talent and something we all deeply appreciated. The entire experience left us smiling. One thing is certain: we won’t return to San Diego without coming back to Eddie V’s. It was a truly memorable meal and a perfect way to celebrate a very special occasion. - Thank you all!

*This review is based on their Restaurant Week menu* Our party of 4 made a reservation for a Wednesday night and were seated downstairs. We came here for Restaurant Week and had a great experience. Ambiance/Service: The inside gives an intimate, date night vibe. It has two floors, bathroom is located on the second floor (I didn’t know this and almost walked into the kitchen on the first floor, whoops!). There were bar seats and many 4-person table seats. It seems that they could probably accommodate a slightly larger group but definitely make reservations in advance. Shout out to Belisario for the great service! Our food came out fairly quickly. Food: The Restaurant Week dinner price was $65 per person and by the end, we were pretty stuffed. -First course included a piece each of American Wagyu Puff, Short Rib and Steak Tartare Taco: each piece was a decent bite size and loved that we were able to try each one rather than having to pick one! -Second course: I was between the Lobster Soup and the Oysters and ended up choosing the soup which had a nice kick to it. Would order this again. -Third course: I chose the Filet Mignon though it was hard choice between that and the Truffle Agnolloti. The Filet Mignon came with potato purée and I was happy with this choice. -Our table added the fresh baked house rolls with the trio of butters ($10): I forgot what each of them were but one was sweet, one was spicy, and the other garlic? I’d order this again. Drinks: -Shoot to Kill ($17). I’m someone who doesn’t like the strong taste of alcohol in my cocktails and I enjoyed this one. -Wolf in the Woods ($25): my husband ordered this drink. He’s opposite where likes stronger drinks. Served in a smoky box. Overall: We enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu and would come back again to try out their regular menu.

Working with a prix fix menu is not my first choice, but the staff was very accommodating. The boneless ribeye came out very, very rare, and they were nice enough to take it back in and give it a push up to medium. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, so I was very impressed with the service. The salad and mashed potatoes were fantastic. I knocked the atmosphere and overall score down to four stars simply because the music was very loud with a dance club vibe. Not a bad thing, just not my preference. Overall, a very nice experience and great staff.

I had dinner here for restaurant week fall 2024. The food was unique, tasty, and well-presented. The service from the hostess and the waiters was fantastic. They kindly accommodated my party of 2 without a reservation near opening time. However I do have some issues - the portions were quite small, and we were charged $10 more per person than the prix fixe menu price of $55 pp advertised on the SDRW website. This price discrepancy, along with the small portion sizes for the price charged, left a pretty bad impression on an otherwise great meal.

Visited this place for an unforgettable NYE dinner. This upscale restaurant truly lives up to the hype. The menu may be small, but every dish is thoughtfully presented and absolutely delicious. We started with some incredibly fresh oysters--an amazing way to kick off the meal. The rolls with trio of butters (miso, spicy togarashi, and black bean) are a must-try and full of flavor! The yellowtail appetizer was perfectly balanced--light, refreshing, and vibrant--while the gem salad was just as delightful. My boyfriend ordered the NY steak medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection, tender, and packed with flavor. We're already looking forward to our next visit when we're back in town!

I wish I could have given more but due to service, I feel even 3 stars is generous. We dined here during San Diego Comic-Con weekend with a 5:30 PM reservation and were told we’d need to wrap up by 7:30—which we completely understood given the busy weekend. Ironically, we didn’t leave until 8:30, not because we lingered, but because the service was incredibly slow and disorganized. We had high expectations going in, given the elevated pricing and the overall feel of a nicer dining experience. Unfortunately, the service did not reflect that at all. Our waiter was barely present, drink refills were slow or nonexistent, and one drink never even arrived. There also seemed to be no communication between the server and the bussing staff—dishes we were still enjoying were taken away prematurely, including ones we had ordered more bread for. It took nearly an hour and a half before we were even able to place our main course orders. It was difficult to get our server’s attention, and when he finally approached us, he said, “I’m ready when you’re ready,” which felt especially frustrating given how long we’d been waiting. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. The tomato burrata was excellent, and the miso fish was a standout. The Parker Rolls are a must. The Greek salad, on the other hand, was drenched in dressing, the corn soup felt cold, and many of the cocktails were unbalanced. A 20% automatic gratuity was added for our party, which is standard for larger groups, but it felt unfortunate given the poor level of service we received. Overall, we were really looking forward to this meal and expected a polished, well-paced experience, but sadly the service and execution didn’t match the setting or price point.

Guests can also enjoy a well-stocked wine cellar, bar, and caviar. The atmosphere is elegant and the service is impressive, making it an ideal choice for special occasions or simply to indulge in exceptional cuisine.
Steak 48 is amazing! Consistent excellence is the best way to describe this restaurant. You will always have amazing service and food every single time. I've tried almost the whole menu and they just don't miss. I've been to Ocean 48 and also Dominick's numerous times and this is by far my favorite location. I visit this location often and i'm always welcomed with a welcome back Tyler and a smile!

Nice food and trendy ambiance, steep prices as expected. Full and must make a reservation. The meat was good, as expected. Appetizers and sides are varied but still on the upper end side (truffle, caviar, lobster, etc) and good but maybe too much for me. Wine was a great surprise, with a long by the glass menú and very fair prices (like double the regular amount is served here). Service was not great, very busy and kind of chaotic but nothing terrible, the place is very big and there are a lot of tables and a lot going on. Still felt on the pricier side and service was not on par. Good option for del mar but still don't think is worth the trip from downtown with so many great options there.

service was excellent, very attentive, polite food was over salted. steak salty. sides salty. every bite paired with water. steak ordered medium turned out it was medium rare, better one grade up when u order. please consider to put shaved salt aside rather than on top of steak. crispy surface but i think it was burnt. dessert very sweet. quite noisy, not an elegant restaurant if you are expecting that

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Steak 48, and it was absolutely perfect. The steaks were cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and easily some of the best we’ve ever had. The service was spot-on from start to finish; attentive without being overbearing, and every detail was handled with care. The ambiance was warm, elegant, and romantic, which made it the perfect setting for such a special occasion. Steak 48 made our milestone anniversary truly memorable, and we can’t wait to come back!

We had an amazing dinner here for our honeymoon! We are seasoned travelers and this is in the Top 3 best steakhouses we’ve been to in the United States. The Japanese Waygu filet was a 10/10, it cut like butter. I had the bone in filet which I’d give 9.5/10, phenomenal! The corn crème brûlée was amazing, and so was the au gratin potatoes. Everything from the bread, drinks, and dessert was amazing as well. The service was absolutely unmatched. They called me the day before our reservation to confirm we were coming for our honeymoon. They gave us a private table that felt like our own room and covered our table in rose petals. Our server Trevor knew the menu like the back of his hand, he said the servers have intense training for 1.5 months, weekly quizzes, and certifications they have to maintain. I believe it with the level of service delivered! The manager came and checked on us multiple times to see how we enjoyed our meals. They gave us free champagne and a free dessert for our honeymoon. We concluded dinner with a warm towel and multiple good bye’s and congratulations from the amazing staff. I’ve never experienced this level of service before and I’ve ate at hundreds of fine dining restaurants. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and can’t wait to come back! Side note: We are traveling to Vegas next week and cancelled our nice steak dinner reservation because we figured that it won’t be as good as this restaurant was and we’ll probably just compare it the entire time to Steak 48 lol.

This is one of those places to which you go for the ambiance, fantastic atmosphere and setting, somewhere where you can park your Ferrari at the door, a place to see and be seen. I would definitely go back. Just if you’re the kind of person who likes your stake medium-rare and appreciate perfection on your plate, order the pasta. Like I said, the place is fantastic, but it’s a place to have a great time and not be picky about the food. The food review is simple, terrible, overpriced, oversold simulated high cuisine that is really disappointing. The waiter warned us that the stake would come under done in a 500o plate so that it keeps cooking at the table. It came over done, and by the time the plate cooled down medium-rare, that came mediums, turned into medium-well. For me inedible, for most people it was, what it was. Again this is a place you go for the atmosphere, and that’s alright.

I did not have high expectations for this place but i can honestly say, everything about our dinner was phenomenal. The esthetics were modern and sleek. The food was phenomenal and I cannot say enough about their service. Shoutout to Veronica who took care of us. All of our steaks tatsed and great and cooked to our liking. The drinks added another element to the dinner. And to top it off, the two desserts who got ended the night perfectly. Highly recommend.

Had high, high hopes for this restaurant due to location and atmosphere when I walked in but my score dropped for a few reasons: Beer selection 3/5 - my beer came from a bottle? No good drafts and if you’re a steakhouse investor in some good taps. For my review I’d like a good IPA, hit a local one as I’ve had many good ones in that same shopping center. Steakhouses need a solid draft beer, but mine came from a bottle … whomp whomp. Food 3/5 - good looking rolls and they tasted good. My steak had zero seasoning despite being told it gets thrown in a broiler; pro tip hit it with some seasoning and broil it. The sides, cheesy mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts outshined the steak. My filet had a huge piece of gristle in the middle , and which would have brought this down more but the sides made up for it along with my bartender’s attentiveness. Atmosphere- 4/5 - this is a dark steak restaurant with cool meeting rooms and viewing areas for seafood and dessert. The bar has potential, but needs more draft beers and maybe some better apps. Overall-3/5 - I think I’ve gotten better steaks at Culinarily dropout and yummy food at nicks in the same shopping area. I’d be willing to try it again if I can get some seasoning or butters to make my steak be the star of the show.

Stake Chophouse & Bar is a modern steakhouse with a classic feel, offering an array of fine USDA Prime, dry-aged, Japanese A5, and American Wagyu beef cuts. It has earned the prestigious Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence for seven consecutive years. The Stake Experience is highly recommended, featuring a five-course journey through the menu with optional wine pairings.
★★★★ Skirt Steak Dreams! If you're looking for a great steak spot in Coronado, this is it. Seriously, the skirt steak was one of the best I've had in a long, long time. So good. We also got the French onion soup and it was delicious—really flavorful and cheesy, but not too salty like they can sometimes be. The staff was great, too. They were always there when you needed them but didn't interrupt our conversation. Definitely going back!

Food was incredible. We had the lamb, lobster mashed potatoes, wagyu steak, veggies, wine, etc. Our server, on the other hand, seemed inconvenienced by our presence. No one seemed happy to be working there. It really brought the mood down. Ordering from a touch screen menu would have been a better experience.
Danica H — Google review
Disappointing Return to What Was Once a Favorite. I’ve been to Stake Chophouse with my wife before and had an exceptional experience, so I was genuinely looking forward to this visit with the five guests I had invited. Unfortunately, this time was a real letdown — especially considering the high price point and the reputation this place carries. The food simply didn’t meet expectations. My steak, which should have been the centerpiece of the meal, was overcooked and lacked the depth of flavor I remembered from past visits. One of the guest had the salmon, which in his words were, it was flavorless. The sides — which arrived after a noticeable delay — were underwhelming and felt more like afterthoughts than thoughtfully crafted dishes. Service was another major disappointment. It took far too long for anyone to take our drink and dinner orders, and the attentiveness throughout the evening was lacking. At a restaurant of this caliber (and cost), I expect a seamless, professional experience — not to be flagging down staff for water refills or basic condiments. Overall, this visit simply didn’t justify the steep price tag. I’m hoping it was just an off night, but for now, I’ll be thinking twice before returning — and I certainly can’t recommend it the way I once did.

A fabulous restaurant and memorable experience. I was very impressed with the high level of service, attentiveness, and quality. Ordered the A5 wagyu and it was out of this world! Although the steak was remarkable, personally selecting our knives was so much fun —felt like we were in a Harry Potter movie choosing our wands. Each knife was handcrafted with a meaningful story. The entire meal was magical and unique.

An absolute pleasure. Every bite was delectable. I had the Cesar salad and the skirt steak that was recommended by our waiter Ziggy. His way of explaining the steak and the knives they offer, was like listening to a storybook description and he was on target with his recommendations for the 6 of us. He made it an experience to remember...I can't mention enough adjectives to describe the service he gave us. And Sebastian! He was at the ready to clear our table leaving it pristine and enjoyable for us. I would def come back and do it again and again and again. Chefs kiss.

Had an amazing meal last night at Stake. Our server Collin was fantastic, as were the food runners and everyone at the restaurant. Steak house
Located in the heart of Little Italy on India Street, Puerto La Boca is a warm and refined eatery offering Argentinean specialties such as empanadas, hearty steaks, and Malbec wines. The restaurant provides a great place to relax after a day of shopping with its delicious food and fine wine selection.
This is my favorite restaurant we dined at during all of restaurant week!! Not only was the food delicious but the prices were incredible. Had the best veggies I’ve had in a long time. The skirt steak was good but the fajita style hot plate plate made it a task to eat. Refreshing drinks and the beef empanada was crisp and tasty. This place is a hidden gem at the edge of little Italy. We WILL be back!

My family and I had such a pleasant time here visiting from Texas. Rodolfo was an excellent host and waiter. We didn’t wait long for food, our drinks were refilled without request frequently, and the quality of the food/drinks was better than expected. The atmosphere was very welcoming and we would definitely return again!

Went for restaurant week menu and really enjoyed the salad and skirt steak. It had a nice creamy mushroom sauce. Portion size was good and food was fresh. We sat outside which was nice but there was a bit of noise from all the airplanes flying by, I guess that is part of the charm. Meter parking on street.

Couldn’t fault the service and quality of the meats here. The Morcilla was unique which was a big plus. Great Argentinian food and a good ambience inside. Meat share platter was the highlight for me… apart from the Morcilla

Even though the place is not super updated and chic, the food was amazing and the server treated us good. I will definitely come back for their mahi-mahi their asado and their empanadas.

As a steak enthusiast and someone who enjoys a good Argentinian dining experience, I decided to give La Boca a try after reading some positive reviews. The ambiance was pleasant, with plenty of space when I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the service was excellent—attentive and welcoming. However, the flavors didn’t quite hit the authentic Argentinian mark for me. The steak I ordered had some heavy seasoning that masked the natural taste of the meat, and the mollejas, while crunchy, were a bit too spicy—likely from an overuse of pepper. On the bright side, the flan was outstanding, perfectly creamy, and a great way to end the meal. Overall, I’d still rate this place as a good spot to visit. The prices are reasonable, and the service and ambiance make it worth checking out. That said, for true Argentinian steakhouse quality, it might leave you wanting a little more.

Absolutely loved this place! The staff was very attentive and friendly and the environment was really pleasant. And the food was incredibly delicious! The empanadas and chimichurri were the best I've ever had, and the milanesa la napolitana was great. We even split it and it was plenty for two! Definitely would recommend if you're in Little Italy!

Larsen's Steakhouse La Jolla is a modern local chain offering classic steakhouse dishes and seafood in an upscale setting. It's a great spot for celebrations, with excellent service and a welcoming ambiance. The happy hour menu features delicious options like filet mignon tacos and sliders on soft Hawaiian buns. Guests praise the attentive bartenders and the manager who interacts with diners.
Our party of nine (initially 11) dined here for the first time to celebrate dual birthdays within our dining party. To be honest, we were not able to secure a table for 11 calling other comparable steakhouses two weeks prior to our reservation date. It's ironic how you find out about OUTSTANDING restaurants completely by chance. What a wonderful find! Larsen's Steakhouse was not known prior to dinner, but they will be the first restaurant we'll think of whenever we opt to have steaks or seafood from here on. First off, four of our nine guests arrived early to stop by the bar to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail. We were met by Felix, who prepared several Old Fashioned cocktails, a Buffalo Trace Bourbon served neat, and an order of truffle fries to share while we awaited the rest of our party. The decor behind the bar is absolutely beautiful! Service was excellent and Felix treated us like regulars. Despite not even being seated for dinner yet, the night was already off to a great start. The rest of our guests arrived and we were shown to our table which was in their outdoor patio, but the weather outside was typical sunny San Diego weather, and couldn't have been seated at a better location. Our servers, Greg and Jade introduced themselves to us and took care of everything, I mean everything we needed. My wife and I shared their 24oz bone-in ribeye cooked medium rare+ and added an orphan lobster tail for our made up Surf N Turf plate. Our table shared the following sides: sautéed mushrooms, steamed broccolini, crispy brussel sprouts, hash browns, and grilled asparagus. ALL food served to our table was over-the-top delicious, and if you can believe it, the service which Greg and Jade provided us was even better! There are a lot of nice steakhouses in town who have comparable food, but when someone compliments the service almost every time Greg or Jade visit our table, you know your service is beyond great. Water and iced teas were refilled without asking, crumbs were cleaned off the table discreetly and frequently, Jade took photos of us, and a video of our food upon request saving us the trouble of doing it, the timing of our food delivered was smooth... Greg and Jade worked very well as a team, and though we weren't their only table they were serving, they made us feel like we were the only table they were serving. Our two birthday guests were given birthday-sized butter cakes with a lit candle, and our table ordered two regular sized bananas foster butter cakes and a rhubarb cobbler to polish off the awesome meals we had. We honestly could not have had a nicer time. Before we knew it, we were coming up on 2 1/2 hours. We spoke to the restaurant GM, Ivica Stojanov, and praised the wonderful meals and outstanding service we just experienced. GM Stojanov provided his business card to us and invited us to return. We also spoke to their Asst GM, Marcus Sumner to inquire about their private dining room and Mr. Sumner told us the details as to potentially reserving it in the near future. The restaurant's bar, dining areas, and restrooms (I can't vouch for the women's, but can for the men's) were all very well kept. This restaurant has vaulted to the top of our list not only for their delicious food, but even mores for their service and hospitality provided. We actually can't wait to return.

Parking: Plenty of 2 hrs free parking. Best spot is west of Wells Fargo Ambience: Business Service: 5 Stars! our server was great. Water was always filled. That’s a first considering I drink a lot of water. Food: I ordered the Fried Calamari and crab cakes for appetizer and main dish was wet age Ribeye steak, dry age New York Steak, and sea bass Overall: The service was great. The food portions were surprisingly filling. Party of four and we were full off 2 loaf of bread the the appetizers. We ate some of the steak but it was really bland. Quality of the meat cut was amazing.

Definitely recommend this place. The happy hour is really good. The filet mignon tacos are the best tacos I've had. The filet mignon sliders are also very amazing. They have the Hawaiian buns so they are soft and sweet and the mushrooms were amazing. Perfectly cooked. Both are on the happy hour menu and super reasonable. The manager was walking around talking to the guests and bussing tables. The bartenders were all very nice and quick to check in on us. The location is also really good. Really enjoyed this place and highly recommend for happy hour

this was our first time dining at Larsen’s Steakhouse at UTC. We ordered the Filet Mignon Sashimi, Lobster Bisque, Prime Ribeye, and Braised Short Rib. The location is nice, easy to see from the street and draws a varying crowd as it is attached to the UTC mall. To be honest the appetizers blew us away - we’d come back multiple times over for the filet mignon sashimi and lobster bisque (and love to explore other starters). the main courses - we’d probably skip.

So the Larson's restaurant which to me includes Larson's steakhouse and Larson's grill. This particular one I'm going to review is Larson's steakhouse and I've been here several times but this is my first review. This place is top notch and if you're looking for a step up in a steak This is the place to go hands down. I am from Detroit and I traveled here and made a point to make this a stop on our trip. This particular visit is no different than the rest, everything was damn near perfect. I urge anybody who's in the area or can spare to go here to visit. The staff and the manager did an excellent job we will be back

Food is not bad. Service was so-so. Hostess was unhelpful and stand-off-ish, and should not be working in a place like this. A bit pricey, even by La Jolla/UTC standards. If I'm spending this much $$$ for a steak dinner, I'm instead going to Donovan's for comparable food, more experienced staff, and view of the cove.

Great professional customer service, manager and the chef will come to your table and make sure your food tastes great. The only reason why i give 4 stars is because i think it's a bit over priced. Costco sells $100 gift cards for $79.

The restaurant offers various spaces for social gatherings, including a main dining room, bistro seating area, bar, patio, and private dining spaces. We stopped by STK for cocktails, and Jordan completely made the experience. From the moment we sat, she was so sweet, attentive, and seriously the best about the drink menu. Her recommendations were spot-on!!! Every cocktail we tried was so tasty it was insane. Jordan’s energy is infectious in the best way. She made us feel right at home. She was the most perfect server we could ask for. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and it shows in how she takes care of her guests. Reminds me of an old timey locale. The atmosphere is simply amazing. There is even live music during dinner. The food was all really delicious. Very, very good steak dinner, delicious appetizers, and rich dessert. I came for my birthday and was given one of the best pieces of chocolate cake I've had out in a while. Would like to take the time to say an honest review, 1. And foremost if you love and enjoy quality food. This is the place. 2. Prompt service, once seaterd I needed nothing; warm bread and butter (delicious) started and sides out shortly after! 3. Unlike a chain restaurant no offense; I was asked upon serving, if my steak was to my liking (huge) and yes it was. Thank you la maze for now multiple experiences and dishes.

I'm sad to report, the place was very underwhelming. I heard good things, but today, Sunday May 11, mother's day, was the complete opposite. Parking lot was at 95% capacity at 540pm, I was surprised and expecting the level to be high. Our reservation was at 545pm. Got in promptly with no hostess for about 3-5 minutes, just waiting to check in. Full house at this time was really impressive. She was busy adjusting tables for the next group to be seated from a 4 to 6 person table. After acknowledging checking in, we were seated within 5 mins. We sat at our table by 6pm. We were browsing the mother's day special menu, shown below, for approx 5mins, waiting for a waitress. When the waitress asked what we would like to order, I inquired about the normal menu, however, due mother's day, it was a prefix menu. We chose the salad. ribeye , with mashed potatoes along with vegetables. She had chosen cheesecake, peach cobbler for me. The littles were ordered pasta and chicken strips with steak fries. I domt drink alcohol, so I inquired if my order may be substitued with a soft drink. The waitress was unable to grant the request, her manager said no substitution for tonight. Eye brow was raised. 2 glasses of champagne then. The wife may have mkne. A considerable amount of time had passed with littles getting slightly more hangry. Two glasses of rose wine was served, surprise! Ran out of champagne. We had asked the waitress if the bread may be brought to our table first, something the littles can nibble on before the food. More time passes with the waitress seeming overwhelmed returns to our table to say, "Im sorry, we ran out of bread, our manager went out to buy some more." Dumbfounded, we acknowledged. But how can a restaurant establishment run out of bread by 620 pm? More time passes, we needed to make eye contact with our waitress and ask if the kid's meal may be pushed out, so they may eat first, and goes to request the order to be rushed. More time passes, waitress returns with a plate of pasta and says "we ran out of chicken strips. We have grilled cheese, or we can make chicken wings." We went with the chicken wings. Our entrees were served. Ribeye was cooked med rare for me. Wife cut into hers, which was cooked medium. The waitress came by and we had requested another order of rib eye. Her plate was removed. The chicken wings and fries arrived. Within 4 minutes, a new ribeye was served. Mash potatoes minus gravy We didnt bother asking for gravy, we felt we had been too needy as is, with her workload. The steak was cooked correct. Bread arrived a couple bites in. As we ate. Living music night turned into belly dancers coming out. Which is why I gave atmosphere 5 stars for live talent. Our littles loved it! We finished our food and time for dessert. My peach cobbler arrived. Another surprise, no more cheesecake. We were offered chocolate mint cake or peach cobbler. She chose peach cobbler. The littles loved it. I hope no one else experienced our mishap tonight. If you did, sorry.

Stepping into Cafe La Maze is entering into a modern elegance with classic charm. The ambient lighting casts a warm glow over dark wood accents and plush leather seating, creating an inviting yet sophisticated environment. Live music played in the background, enhancing the relaxed atmosphere without overpowering conversation. It’s the perfect backdrop for both intimate dinners and celebratory gatherings. Our experience was elevated by the exceptional service provided by Roxane, our waitress. From the moment we sat down, her genuine warmth and enthusiasm made us feel like cherished guests. Now, let’s talk about the food—Café La Maze is a culinary delight! We indulged in a variety of dishes, each showcasing fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s dedication to quality and creativity. Oh and the delicious cocktails! The prices were fair for the quality of the food. I have been going to eat at Cafe La Maze for 50 years at least. It has always had the best prime rib... I was there a couple of weeks ago and ordered a prime rib French dip sandwich medium rare. It was the first time I ever ate a tough piece of beef on their premises. I'm going to try it again in a week. If it's tough again, I won't be going back under their new ownership. And for some reason there was only one waitress, and the service was so slow, not her fault! Just terrible management! It took hours to get out of there. They'd better shape up or they're going to lose their long history of great food and service.

Our favorites are the prime rib, pork chops, fried calamari and creamy chicken soup! Excellent food in general. They are famous for their prime rib and offer a special anniversary priced prime rib dinner every year as a "Thank you" to their customers. They have a very friendly wait staff. This is a historic restaurant that was frequented by the Hollywood elite in the 40s and 50s, and still draws crowd at dinner time due to their high quality entrees. For us, it is well worth making the 12 mile special trip. Update: Stopped by for prime rib, creamy chicken soup, and garlic mashed potatoes. Excellent as usual, with fast friendly service! Update: Tried their sirloin steaks, excellent! Update: Prices have increased again, but quality remains excellent. Got the cheesecake dessert. It was very tasty, but at $7.95 it wasn't a good value. Update: Prices have increased yet again. This is becoming a pricey restaurant, however the quality remains excellent. Update: Another price increase. Excellent prime rib and sirloin steak. Update: Our first disappointing experience. Decided to try the fish and chips. For $25.95, we expected way better. Sadly the fish was prepared similar to corn dogs, but with 75% breading. Just a pinky finger sized piece of fish in each. Minus one star. On the other side of the spectrum, the boneless pork chops were excellent as usual. Update: Another price increase. Excellent prime rib and sirloin steak. Update: Got the Pork Chops and Prime Rib entrees. Both were excellent. Update: Another price increase. Got the Pork Chops entrees, and the Clam Chowder. Everything was excellent as usual! Update: New owners and much higher prices. The steaks and prime rib are extremely expensive now. Got the Cajun Chicken and Alaskan Cod entrees. They were very good, but a bit overpriced.

A fabulous dinner. This is a fantastic spot for dinner. The steak was exceptional. The sear was superb and the cook spot on. This is what they do best. Also had the hamachi, which was also very tasty with a great balance of citrus and spice. The asparagus was just ok. A bit undercooked. Service was exceptional! Would go back.

A great dinner spot, whether you’re planning a date night or a group gathering! The interior is beautiful, and it was so cool to see the meat fridge on display! Service was super attentive from start to finish, Francisco (sorry for spelling mistakes!) was especially great! Food was delicious, we got the following: - Chopped Salad: Fresh and flavorful, great to start off the meal - Beef Empanadas: The beef inside was super juicy! Exterior shell was crispy. - Chefs Sampler Plate: A special not on the menu, but is available to order! The New York Steak and Lamb Chops were so tender, and we loved the sauce on the Lobster Ravioli. - Chocolate Lava Cake: A great way to end the meal!

I was thrilled when I learned that The Butcher's Cut has happy hour. I got an 8 oz NY steak, Brussel sprouts and a Wedge salad all for $42.57 The steak was cooked to my liking and the horseradish was fresh and spicy. The brussel sprouts were delicious. The wedge salad was great! The staff was kind and full of smiles. The restaurant looks awesome! I loved all the hemp ropes and the lighting was unique, I will remember this place. I will definitely return when I am back in town.

My first time eating here my soup was over over salted! The steak was alright nothing that blew my mind the dessert was very basic in taste and so were the drinks. Im down to give it another chance in the future and maybe have a better experience but my first time was just not it.

We are here on a Friday night and it was pretty empty. We had various dishes that were ok, nothing was great or worth going back for. Our steak had zero seasoning on it and tasted bland. The best thing we had were the mushrooms and Shishito pepper side dish. The sauce on the salmon was very sweet I would have liked it on the side.

TLDR: shoutout to Sarah, sit at the bar and dine with her because she is awesome! Some misses on the food but HH prices are good! We ordered a bunch of food from the happy hour menu which is priced so well! Some of our favorites were the crab cake, lamb lollipops, and the Hugo spritz. Some misses were the NY steak (well done instead of medium rare), and the shrimp cocktail (we expected and wanted cold shrimp, not hot huge cooked shrimp) Sarah was an absolute delight, super friendly and thoughtful and just a joy!

The highlight is the 17 different cuts of meat and seafood brought directly to your table for indulgence. My husband and I visited Galpão Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse on Valentine's Day, and it was an incredible experience! I was particularly excited as it was my first time trying Brazilian steaks, and this restaurant did not disappoint. The ambiance is fantastic, with elegant decorations and a clean environment that made our dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff were amazing and incredibly helpful, especially since it was our first visit. They took the time to explain the various meats as they came to our table, which enhanced our experience. Some of my favorite items included the delicious cheese bread, grilled pineapple, golden steak, lamb chops, and chicken wrapped in bacon. The salad bar was also impressive, offering a wide variety of options to choose from. Overall, Galpão Gaucho made our special day even more memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience!

Definitely a must try in San Diego if you’re looking to try a variety of different meats! I was surprised to see they had grilled salmon and grilled shrimp as well to try in their 18 selections from the grill. They also had bacon wrap chicken. They also have lamb and pork. My favorite was the 24K Gold steak, The bacon wrapped filet mignon and the grilled shrimp! The salad bar was fresh everything was stocked up! A variety of cheeses, salads and other sides! The shrimp from the salad bar is a must try! The chicken salad was good too. Definitely coming back! Don’t forget to try the 24K gold steak! Service was top notch very attentive and great customer service!

There’s also a buffet station with various salads, cheeses, and other sides. The meal was so satisfying! The restaurant is located near Seaport Village, making it perfect for a stroll after eating. Plus, the restaurant covers 75% of the parking fee.

Enjoyed our July 4th authentic Brazilian lunch experience. Unlimited meats, wide array of gourmet salad bar items, and side dishes (cheese bread/mashed potatoes) Pork Sausage/lamb chops garlic picanha/rib-eye/fillet mignon wrapped in bacon/grilled shrimp were all tender and well seasoned. 5/5 Crispy candied bacon: so good! 5/5 I wasn’t a fan of the bottom sirloin and most especially the 24 karat golden steak which is the least tasty/favorite of all the meats we tried. 3/5 I thought price was regular $55 lunch but since it was July 4th, it was $75 which is still worth it because of the outstanding dining experience! Staff were courteous, welcoming, and attentive. Will definitely coming back! Free holiday parking!

Galpão Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse is truly a gem! From the moment we arrived, the customer service was top-notch—friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive. The food was outstanding with a wide variety of fresh and flavorful side dishes. The mashed potatoes and crisp salad stood out as favorites, but everything was delicious. The meats were absolutely phenomenal, especially the bacon-wrapped filet mignon—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. A special highlight of the evening was trying the golden steak—a brand new and unforgettable experience. The meat was wrapped in a delicate layer of gold and cooked right in front of us. It was as much a visual treat as it was a culinary one—absolutely stunning and delicious! We also loved the Brazilian strawberry lemonade—refreshing, fruity, and perfectly balanced. Dining here is more than just enjoying great food—it’s an experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy incredible flavors and unique touches in a warm, elegant setting. Can’t wait to return!

As others have stated it is the best Brazilian Steakhouse I have been too. I tried everything except garlic steak. My top 4 favorites in order were the ribeye, lamb, pork ribs, and beef rib. All of the food was amazing and on par or surpasses Steak 48, RPM, Mortons, or Lou and Mickey's. Amazing overall meal. Don't forget to get your 24K steak 🤑

More expensive than other Brazilians but it's really good. I came here 2 times in a row and the first night was a great experience. The meat was super soft and tasty. Not only one of many but all which is really difficult when it comes to these places. The salad bar is very good as well. The service was quick, the meat came really fast and dinner that night was over the top. The second day, again for dinner, the table location wasn't as good as it was the first time, and the service seemed off. Lettuce weren't available for a whole while so I skipped the salad. When the first meat came it was good but 10 or 15 min went by until finally another waiter came after telling the person at the registry. It was earlier than the first night so I guess it wasn't the prime time to have the experience we had the night before. After that meat came at times and it took longer. These places are always a hit or miss when it comes to how quick the food gets to the table. However, the waiters were super nice and overall, this place is over the other two Brazilians that used to be in downtown. One closed due to a fire. We will come to this restaurant again soon and hopefully it is a good as the first night. By the way, second night dinner I believe it was about 7pm and the first night was about 9pm.

Delicious food, fantastic drinks, and amazing service. Steak, short rib, French onion soup, salad…. were all great! Service by Scott and Gayza was top notch. A few things to note: Happy Hour specials are only available at the bar, so be sure to grab a seat there if you want to enjoy those deals. Also, their three-course meal special is only available Monday through Thursday, which is a great midweek dining option. The ambiance is a perfect mix of modern and cozy, making it great for both casual nights out and special occasions.

Add the $50 boneless Prime ribeye it was fantastic I don't know how their hundred-dollar one which could be better. Brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had with saffron all over them. The butter cake was highly recommended not something I would normally order just by the name but I'm glad I did best dessert on the menu. Have the double chocolate cake the second time I was there the cake was dry need a new recipe I think. Definitely need to add something with raspberry next to it.

moes one of my friends recommended this place, and I'm not sure why it took me so long to actually visit. about 1 mi from where I live, my boyfriend and I decided to finally check out most. we sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks and food. my go-to Moscow drink, is there passion for agave. highly recommend if you like fruity and Smokey tequila cocktail. my boyfriend and I have gone here numerous times since our first visit, and have loved every experience. we've tried a variety of their foods, from their lunch salad, to either crab cakes, to their calamari, to their chicken, to their pastas, to their amazing dessert wines and butter cake. we have had nothing short of an amazing experience, the service is so attentive, the bartenders are so knowledgeable and conversational. shout out to Robert, one of her favorite bartenders. The ambiance from the outside is not telling at all what is inside the restaurant. from the outside looks like a total drive-by place that you wouldn't even acknowledge. but this is truly a hidden gem, dark and chic, Speak Easy/ classic retro bar Vibe on the inside. I let my pictures speak for themselves. this place also has a great happy hour, which they call social hour, from 4-6p during the week.
Marjon F — Google review
Outstanding service at the bar by Scott and the vibe was awesome. Got there for social hour and the wedge salad and steak skewers with potato puree were excellent. The 16 oz dry-aged NY Strip, however, was as tough as shoe leather, I struggled to cut it. I ordered it medium, but it was medium-rare. I should have ordered the rib-eye. Scott was attentive and showed concern I didn't eat my steak. I've worked in the industry and would never send food back, so I took it home and figured we could dice it up with eggs in the morning. Because Scott and the hostess were so nice, we will give it another shot (we live in OB) and maybe try the pasta and ribeye.

Been coming to mission Beach for a few years now, I found Moe's on my most recent trip and we ended up there two nights in a row. It has an amazing bar area then a room where guests can eat behind it. The decor is great, it's meets the beach vibe of the town, but also is upscale enough to match a classy feeling of being in a nice restaurant. Service was great both nights. I loved their shrimp cocktail, we ordered that both nights. The wedge salad (not pictured) was delicious as well. We opted for the American wagyu and the filet for dinner. Both were flavored well, we paired it with the butter and steak sauce. I liked the filet better than the waygu if I'm being honest. All in all, great service, great ambiance, and well worth visiting if you are in Mission Beach and want a nice dinner!

Love this place!! Every time I visit San Diego, I have to go to this Restaurant. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. The seafood was absolutely fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. One dish we didn’t like was Clam Chowder, it was too salty. The service was good. The staff was attentive and friendly.

My family grabbed lunch here after landing at the airport. It was less than 10 minutes from the airport. Parking space was limited but we were able to find paid street parking right in front of the restaurant. It’s a self-service restaurant. You order at the counter and they will bring out food for you. A server brought us two high chairs and she was very friendly. Food came out in about 10 minutes. I highly recommend their special, award winning Taco. At a first bite, it tasted rich and fresh. Shrimp in the taco was big and juicy. Clam chouder soup was pretty good too. We ordered the soup in a bread bowl. The bread bowl had garlic taste and it went well with the soup. Lastly, we ordered fish n chips. Fish was very fresh but batter was too thick. It came out with waffle fries, which were very crispy. Overall, it was a great experience to start my San Diego trip. I would recommend this place to anyone and will come back for their taco!

Came here to try the award winning Tack Taco, and it was worth it. The lineup was long, waited around 45 minutes to order and get a table. The track taco was the biggest, tastiest, messiest, and most incredible taco I have ever had. All of the seafood is super fresh and delicious. The staff are very friendly and appoint you a table while waiting in line. There is lots of street parking nearby for free.

Long line, even after peak lunch hours, but worth the wait. The calamari, shrimp, salmon were very fresh and flavorful. Our favorites were the calamari salad with chipotle seasoning, and salmon sandwich. The tacos were above average, but nothing memorable. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back. All the staff were friendly and welcoming!

The food was really delicious and well worth the lengthy line. We loved everything we ordered. Once you pay and get your food, your pretty much on your own. They are so busy that they don't have much time to follow up on already seated customers or refill your beverage. I would recommend this place for the awesome food, just be prepared to wait for it.

Fresh Seafood and Fair Prices, but Limited Parking We stopped by Bluewater Seafood while attending a conference in San Diego. Once seated, service was quick and the food came out fresh. I especially enjoyed the tender calamari. My husband tried the seafood soup, which was okay but not something he’d order again, and the tuna poke was tasty but served in a smaller portion compared to other places. Prices were fair, the restaurant was lively and clearly popular, which made parking a real hassle—we had to circle a few times to find a spot.

First meal in San Diego was not fish tacos but 100% delicious! (Duane got fish tacos and they looked amazing and were giant) I’ve been to this place before a long time ago and it was just as delicious as I remembered it. Walk up, order, sit and food is brought to you…. The freshest ingredients! We timed it just right because within 10 minutes of us sitting down, the dining room basically filled up! Calamari, Clam Chowder, Shrimp Nachos (was a special) and Onion Rings 😋 Definitely check them out if you’re in the area!

Hash House A Go Go is a trendy chain that offers innovative American brunch and dinner dishes, along with their famous Bloody Marys. The restaurant takes a farm-to-table approach, serving up generous portions of Midwestern-inspired food. Their signature dish is the towering sage fried chicken and waffles topped with bacon. The restaurant prides itself on providing great value, delicious food, and excellent service while building relationships with customers and the community.
Went there last hour of brunch time! Their portions are ginormous- they’re known for that! We got the chicken something Benedict - great layers and good complementing flavors. The French Banana Latte was really good. Not too sweet but great flavor for sure! The server was great and attentive. We sat in a little squished in corner, I didn’t care for that. But overall good everything 😁 worth a try if you’ve never been 🤷🏻‍♀️

Amazing experience! Food was PHENOMENAL! Be very hungry or share a plate because the portions are huge! Food was very tasty and fruits were fresh. Service was 10/10. We were seated outside on the patio and it was the perfect vibe. Recommend making a reservation to avoid a long wait on certain days.

The best brunch spot in California! You gotta bring your appetite as the portions are colossal! You can honestly order a plate and share with someone else. This place was so delicious that we had to return the following day! The lavender/mint and watermelon lemonade were both incredible! Not too sweet and you can taste the fruit a true 5 out of 5! The menu is incredible with ample breakfast and lunch options. There was a specialty menu on a smaller paper. My wife ordered a crab Benedict. A blue crab cake on top of a biscuit with fried egg and some type of sauce. This dish was excellent and the combination worked well together and was a 5 out of 5! The banana foster French toast tasted as good as it looks! I would rate a 4.4 out of 5. The pineapple upside down flapjack was super delicious. Good texture and taste. I would rate a 4.6 out of 5. The sage fried chicken was a 5 out of 5 day one and a 4 out of 5 the following day. Both days the chicken was fried superb. Day one the seasoning was close to perfection! The eggs and breakfast potatoes both were good and the food presentation matched the taste. I would like to return and try the lunch menu as the meatloaf has ample good reviews. The service both days was five star! Everyone is friendly and ready to assist if needed. Would recommend anyone in the San Diego area that loves really good breakfast this is the place to visit!

Loved the huge servings plus they offer a lot of options for something to drink including espresso. Food tasted absolutely delicious. Every bite was divine. But pricey, but hey, it's CA prices. Our server is amazing! She was fast and friendly and easy to chat with even though she was super busy. Had to wait to be seated but the tables are very close to each other so it felt like we were on top of each other.

We came at about 9am for breakfast, and the atmosphere and staff was great! Very charming, friendly and quick! The drinks here were amazing! The visuals for the food are great! The esthetic seems to be the bigger the better! However, the taste of the food needs improvement. The waffles aren't sweet, the syrup isn't sweet to make up for it, the biscuits are VERY dry, the potatoes are undercooked and unseasoned, the chicken is unseasoned, the food came out cold, and more. It just just didn't live up to the hype for us.
Wendy ( — Google review
It was my first time there. I went in the morning and was able to get in without a reservation, but the table and chairs were too high, so there were a lot of customers waiting nearby right in front of the entrance, and the servers had to pass by a lot, so I couldn't enjoy a leisurely breakfast. I asked for a lower, more spacious table, but they refused. That was the only drawback. The latte was way too sweet too much sugar, too much whipped cream. The egg Benedict was ok egg was over cooked. Too much portion and the taste wasn’t that great.
T M — Google review
Had a reservation for 3. The hostess was very pleasant but I cannot say the same for the server. Service was extremely slow. Two parties that were seated after us were able to order before us and served before us. My spouse ordered avocado they brought out guacamole. Also requested fruit and served was unaware of what fresh fruit of the day was. As you can see from the photo two pieces of honey dew. Food was pretty good but nothing outstanding.

A must-try for breakfast in San Diego! The food is delicious, portions are huge, and the service is always great. Hodad's Downtown is a popular spot in San Diego known for its oversized, messy burgers with a variety of toppings and sides like shakes and onion rings. The restaurant has gained fame after being featured on The Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Its California-themed decor features skateboards, surfboards, and license plates adorning the walls. With a humorous touch to its branding, Hodad's offers generously portioned burgers that are described as more like doubles than singles.
My favorite Burger place All Time. We've been away for 3 years now. I had to come here and have a Burger during our San Diego vacation. I had the Blue Jay Burger; bacon cheeseburger with Blue cheese sauce and grilled onions. So Tasty. My wife had the Chicken Burger Fried with Crispy Bacon. It was very delicious. I always recommend this restaurant. The staff is Awesome and super Cool. The place has a Down to Earth San Diego Vibe.
Ronald F — Google review
I’ve been eating at Hodad’s for years, whenever I visit San Diego. I still believe that this is the best burger you can get in SD. You can taste the freshness and tenderness in the beef and vegetables to a whole other level. The atmosphere can be polarizing but I’m a huge fan of the plastered stickers and license plates everywhere. The service every time has been wonderful, too. It’s a great spot. That being said… they are just getting way too expensive. $21 for a double burger with no sides or a drink, is a bit much. There is a service charge of 3%, but then you are also expected to leave a tip. I don’t get that part at all. I get that these days prices are high, but so is the competition, and for $20+ my burger should at least have a side order and a small soft drink. I don’t remember them being this expensive in the past. Overall, amazing food and great service/atmosphere, so they deserve the 5 stars, but the menu prices and additional service fees are far too high. As much as I love the food, I probably won’t be returning until these prices are figured out.

Stopped in while visiting the area to get a burger and I'm glad that I did. I ordered a single patty bacon cheese burger which was more than enough for me along with onion rings. Both items were delicious and the service was great. If you're looking for a good burger you can't go wrong with this spot.

I arrived for a pretty late lunch since I was in the area for a conference and have been meaning to try out Hodads. I came around 3 PM on a Monday and there was no one else in the shop but me which meant I got super quick service. I opted for the single cheeseburger with onion rings and a Dr. Pepper. The burger was pretty good and the onion rings were amazing. It was definitely worth the 20 minute walk that it took to get there. I'd go back in the future just for the onion rings alone! The best part is that they give you 2 stickers at the end of your meal! I'm pretty sure you're supposed to stick the stickers on the walls of the establishment somewhere but I wanted to take mine.

Saw them on Triple D, and had to try. It definitely lived up to the hype. Burger was great, the atmosphere was fantastic (be on the lookout for the “run forest” license plate). We ate in the car, and had a great time. Staff was friendly and attentive. Burger was a GREAT size. Definitely coming back!

Like many, I’m just in town for a work trip. I’m always looking to try new spots when I’m traveling. This one was great! My kind of music (hard rock, indie, hip hop) a great mix of tunes, great vibes, super nice staff. I am going to make it a point to go back (after a few more runs) this week before I leave! Also, the food and beer were delicious 🤤 (Guido burger and both IPAs on tap)

Incredible burgers with vegan options. Onion rings were absolutely fantastic. Service got a little slow for paying the bill, but otherwise we had an excellent time. Looking forward to trying a beer!

Chart House is a high-end chain restaurant that offers a classy setting with stunning ocean views. Located along the South Coast Highway 101 in San Diego, it provides expansive dining room facing the Pacific Ocean and serving a variety of hot and cold appetizers, signature seafood entrees, prime steaks, and delectable desserts. The restaurant also offers happy hour specials from Monday to Friday with discounted wine, cocktails, and fish tacos. Additionally, they have a brunch menu and an affordable lunch menu.
Went to Chart House with a friend and let me tell you—good company and even better food? A whole vibe. 💃🍤 We started with cocktail shrimp and coconut shrimp (because one shrimp dish just isn’t enough, okay?), and every bite was crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. Paired it with some yummy drinks.🍸😉 And for dessert? That chocolate lava cake came in YUMMY and gooey—just like we like it. Pure indulgence. 🔥🍫 The staff was super sweet, the view was a chef’s kiss, and the night felt like a mini vacation. Chart House, you understood the assignment! 👏 Already planning the next girls’ night. 🥰 It’s giving luxury, elegance, and a touch of romance. If you want to impress yourself or someone else… this is where you go. 🌹🍷 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Came here for lunch after only experiencing dinner before. I didn’t have a reservation but was lucky to be seated by the window. It was pretty busy, even on a Saturday. The service was excellent, and the lunch menu was good, lots of different options! I personally prefer the dinner options, but it is still, it’s a great spot to enjoy a relaxing lunch with a nice view and the water was very friendly and attentive.

Chart House in Cardiff was terrific tonight. My wife and I celebrated her birthday and got a perfect window seat. Our server (Lynn) was the best and took excellent care of us. My prime rib was very high quality beef and perhaps the best tasting prime rib that I've had in a long time (including local steak houses and in Hawaii). My wife said her filet was delicious and melted in her mouth. Salads were perfect, mushrooms, baked potato, etc. were prepared just right. We really had a great time thanks to everyone at the Chart House. The manager came around to check on everyone to see how things were going. Prices are reasonable based on the high quality of food. I think they have actually improved since the last time we were here. No charge for valet parking (except for tip of course). We will return again soon.

My server Devin, was awesome. I was having a late celebration birthday on the Fourth of July. I went full out because, when in Rome, and I felt so happy. Thanks to the team for the delish hospitality and food. From the meatballs, to the mashed potatoes, salmon, and creamed spinach sides and ending with the heath lava cake… plus the three pomegranate martinis (sooo yummy) I had the best evening reading, listening to the waves, and having a moment.

ALWAYS a great experience here. Dishes are well composed, well balanced, flavors are very present, presentation never disappoints, and service is just wholesome and always warm. Keep it up, I've been coming here for the past 12 years for special occasions, events, business meetings, and can absolutely say you deserve all of these stars, keep up the great work, you all make such a great team 🙌⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This place would have long been gone if it wasn't right beside the ocean. Food is mediocre at best, plating is sloppy, service was very slow. I watched our server get quadruple sat so not managed well at all. This is the type of restaurant that gets out of towners that usually dine at applebee's and they come here and think "this is a nice restaurant". Support local, stop keeping these mid chains in business people.

Sabrina M — Google review
Unbeatable oceanfront whitewater location, right on the beach!!! Of course, amazing views of the sea. The fillet was good, lobster tail was excellent, coconut shrimp extraordinary and the cheesecake was decent. The facility is quite nice with a mezzanine tucked over the kitchen, also with a commanding ocean view. Cool open kitchen feature. The service was exemplary. From the valet to the hostess, everyone was in a good mood and quite helpful. Our waiter, Jose, was especially excellent, and looks like Mandy Patinkin! The spinach and artichoke dip was weird, but good. Kinda corn forward instead of the usual parmesean cheese flavor. Not bad, but unexpected. The chips were perfectly crispy. The mashed potato was perfection. Parking is free and tight, but 100% valet, so not a problem. Highly recommended for romantic or business affair. The bathroom didn't smell, but had water or pee all over by the toilet. Hopefully a small leak in a fixture. For a five star location, the food was 4 star. Excellent but not superstar. The location makes this place shine. Cesear salad was okay, cocktails and mocktails were OK.

Great drinks, food, and location. Service was a bit lacking when we were there but that could’ve been a one off. Enjoyed the calamari, fish tacos, and tuna sashimi.

The food at JRDN was absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I shared the steamed mussels and seafood platter. I don’t have words for how much I loved the mussels. The seafood platter was fresh, delicious and a great size to share. The view is immaculate even from indoors and the staff is very friendly.

It was amazing from start to finish. I booked online and Haily sat us. Everything was smooth, parking was free (with validation),bathrooms were clean and view was superb. Plans changed last minute and needed a restaurant in the Pacific Beach area to celebrate a birthday. Luckily we were able make a reservation on line for a party of 7. The restaurant is loud but not annoyingly so. Our server was very attentive to our needs. The food was DELICIOUS! I would definitely recommend this location for any occasion!!

The ribeye is the best! It's one of the best steak ever I eaten! I'm glad I decided to ask them to cook medium because they were a little overcooked to medium well - still perfect! My wife said salmon wasn't that bad. The baby carrots were pretty plain... The mashed potatoes were delicious!!!! Mac and cheese was good! The drinks were good!

I ordered the Chilaquiles + Eggs and the Truffle Fries. The fries were cooked perfectly to a nice crisp. However, I couldn't taste the truffles. The garlic aioli was overwhelming the dish that it disguised the truffle. They should've been called garlic fries. I'm not too impressed by it. The chilaquiles had excellent crispy texture. The eggs were poached perfectly. Although, there wasn't enough seasoning that the dish tasted bland. Furthermore, the lime crema hardly had any lime taste to it. This restaurant was not too terrible, but not too great either.
Kitchens D — Google review
The food was excellent and the service were great! The indoor dining experience is not great unless they have the sliding window doors open. If not, it is very loud and echoes if there are large groups.

Get the mussels. We’ve been there a few times and the muscles are a highlight. There was one time we got them, and there was not much of the chorizo sausage, which was a bit of a disappointment because they weren’t as tasty that time. But every other time we’ve gotten them, they have been absolutely to die for. I think maybe the one time had just been an off night. But service is good views are nice and typically the food is amazing.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Black Angus Steakhouse. This beloved chain is renowned for its expertly flame-grilled steaks and diverse menu that includes seafood and enticing surf 'n' turf combinations. The restaurant's Western-themed decor creates a warm, inviting atmosphere perfect for any occasion, whether it's a casual dinner or a special celebration with friends.
Brought my dad for his birthday. He ordered steak and shrimp, he loved it, was cooked right. I ordered the salmon and shrimp, the flavor of the salmon was good as was the steak soup. They even gave him a free fresh baked cookie with ice cream and sprinkles on top as well as a candle!!!!! He was happy, thank you to our waitress and cooks!!!

This was my first time eating here. I ordered take away and had a pleasant experience. The prices are on the high side for what you get. I don't mind paying for a premium product but this place just misses that by a smidge. The lamb chops were delicious but the sides were on the small side. I would go back just not too often cuz of the cost.

I always enjoy visiting the Black Angus in Chula Vista. This location has been here for as long as I can remember. A couple of decades. And, as this last visit proved, it’s still a great quality place. My family came here for my father’s birthday, and we had a good time. My parents are disabled, so it’s a bit of a challenge for them to get around. However, the staff accommodated us with a table in the center of the restaurant where I could put my mom’s wheelchair, and it worked perfectly. We ordered a variety of food, and it was all excellent. The Wagon Wheel Sampler is as good today as it was 20 years ago. I had a prime rib, and it was cooked exactly how I wanted it. I think everybody enjoyed their food, and the service was fully attentive. I think the only downside is my mom’s side of green beans weren’t that good. It wasn’t exactly clear what the story was, but we don’t come to Black Angus for the green beans. We celebrated my dad’s birthday with a big Cowboy Cookie with a serving of ice cream and a candle on top, and we were able to enjoy the celebration. Our server Jennifer was incredibly attentive, as we had a big group. She was on top of it the entire time. She really made the night. The place where they said us was nice and quiet. There wasn’t any annoying loud music to talk over. There was another group 2 booths down and with the booth design, you could hear that they were energetic and loud, and yet we could barely hear them. It was so perfect. Before my parents started having challenges, we would often sit in the bar so we could enjoy a little bit more lively atmosphere. The bar staff are super good and fun. They offer a full complement of adult sparkling beverages. There are multiple TVs in the bar area so you can enjoy whatever is going on. Will continue to come back.

One of the best steakhouses we've ever been. We order the dinner for two with the tomahawk and it was simply astounishing. The potato and bacon soup is one of the best entrées, while the Crème Brûlée was the best dessert to finish the night. Fully and totally recommended!

Food wasn't as great as we were told it would be..the ribeye steak was tough. The shaved prime rib with egg was chewy, and the whole presentation was a bit wet. The Caesar house was the only thing done right..the other meal, the meat was still tough... but then that is just me... Please don't take my words for it seriously. Come in and judge for yourself. You might get something different and better..

Dirty plates, sarcastic waiter who didn’t know the menu, bartender I wouldn’t trust to make a whiskey neat. Food was very good but steak was overcooked. Asked for med for well done.

my disappointment regarding the quality of the food served at this location. Both the appetizers and the main course were served significantly below the expected temperature, impacting the overall dining experience. Our total bill was over $100

2.5.24 - 7pm Rainy day with a wonderful delicious dinner!! The steak just melted in your mouth 🤤 the baked potato had all the right fixings, the lobster very well cooked and with melted butter.. chefs kiss!! We were waited on constantly, and refills were always completed without requesting them. The restroom is nicely kept. We noticed that visiting on a Monday is your best bet to avoid crowds (like ours) . we sat down just after walking in. This restaurant, in my opinion, was more casual than I dressed up for, which i loved. If we ever visit again, I'm wearing my stretchy pants 😆

Carvers Steaks & Chops is a charming rustic chophouse that invites you in with the mouthwatering scent of perfectly grilled steaks. With its large windows and inviting atmosphere, this establishment offers a delightful menu filled with an array of meat-centric dishes alongside classic American fare. The highlight here is undoubtedly the selection of premium cuts, including filet mignon and ribeye, which are sure to satisfy any steak lover's cravings.
We had a group of 8 who celebrated an anniversary and were seated in a private room which they were able to allow us to dine separately from the main dining room. Our server was Brandon and he was absolutely amazing! He checked on us frequently, was friendly, attentive, polite despite us being a little more animated than most guests of theirs. Everyone had an amazing time, the food was on point, our service couldn’t be better, and the ambiance of the room we were seated at was absolutely PERFECT! We would come back to dine here in a NY second! Also, their Happy Hour was also 2nd to none! An easy 5-star review for Carver’s!!!

The place to go for a lively atmosphere on a week night. Both bar and dining areas can get very full and very loud with enthusiastic patrons (bring ear plugs if you are sensitive). Service is energetic and helpful. The menu offers a pleasant selection of interesting dishes, something for everyone. The ribeye steak I ordered was cooked perfectly rare, as requested, but was surprisingly tough in texture. Apart from lacking tenderness, it was quite flavorfully seasoned. I would hope for higher grade meat on a return visit. On a busy night, parking can be very challenging in the small lot immediately surrounding the restaurant, but it sits adjacent to the Von's shopping center near Pete's Coffee with a giant lot for plenty of overflow parking with a very short walk.

Came on a Saturday afternoon. Busy place! Great service, pleasant atmosphere, lots of options! Great steaks! Pictured was the steak of the day, which was a NY strip with mushrooms and side of roasted asparagus.

Food here was great, the garlic bread is so soft and delicious and the teriyaki tri-tip starter was so tasty and the meat just melted in your mouth. They sauce and season their steaks really well here and the garnishes compliment the dish well. Lighting was dim which is nice. Restaurant wasnt loud and didnt need to shout for other people at my table to here, could have normal conversations. Service was friendly and there is plenty of parking. There are some reviews I saw about a musty smell in the restaurant, but we only noticed that at the entrance and not near our tables. Highly recommend a reservation here.

I've been going a carvers for over 20 years since they first opened. You get a complete meal with a steak prime rib with a salad aside all for a reasonable price. The service has been always great and the atmosphere is low lighting and quiet. Their food is always good not quite up to high-end steakhouses but neither are their prices. There's plenty of parking in their lot. I would recommend Carvers to any family or friends I know.
Don B — Google review
Always an excellent place to visit. Their early dining menu is a great reason for an earlier dinner. One star less because our recent visit had us at a lovely quiet table for our date night with only a few guests in the place, until a loud and rambunctious birthday party came next to us. Who then promptly discussed fairy smut and other things, and called another person on speaker to get their input. We grinned at each other and tried to ignore. Every other visit has been spectacular and will always come here.
Teena — Google review
We came in the first 45 minutes of the dinner window, and man was that a good deal. They have an AMAZING early dining menu. All the food was executed so well, if you like a traditional steakhouse atmosphere they have one and the server was great. The only thing I didn’t like was the only diet soda was Diet Pepsi. This place is so good and off the charts in the value for money category. This place is a “Strong Recommend”!!!

Located in the vibrant North Park neighborhood, this family-owned establishment is known for its traditional French dishes made with sustainable, organic ingredients from local sources. The restaurant's rustic charm and romantic ambiance make it a popular choice for those seeking classic French onion soup, duck fat truffle fries, beef cheeks a la Bourguignonne, and other delectable creations.
Took the entire family here for the first time and we were all very impressed with the very high quality service and food. I wish I lived closer so I could be a regular here. We had various appetizers and I had the Prime Rib special of the night. The recommended wine paired perfectly with my dish and we also ordered some very nice cocktails which were especially unique and good. Our desserts ended the night perfectly as we tried various ones. The consensus favorite was the goat cheesecake. Great atmosphere, staff, especially Danny, and would highly recommend.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in not only San Diego but Southern California as well! We had a great table on the patio with twinkling lights on the ceiling. Came here for restaurant week and was sadly disappointed. The escargot lost all its flavor in the butter and herb sauce it was drenched in. Didn't pair well with the bread it was served with. My porkchop had good flavor but was on the dry side. The mashed potatoes it rested on were very bland. The goat cheese cheesecake was the best thing I ate here. Fluffy and creamy, decadent. Service was slow and disorganized unfortunately. My server was pleasant but not very attentive. I came when it was not so busy as well. I spent 100 dollars on this meal and was hoping for more.

Had the opportunity to try this place for San Diego Restaurant week. For my three course meal I ordered the onion soup, steak and fries and the crème brûlée. All dishes were perfectly cooked, but the dessert was my absolute favorite. The only downside about this restaurant is how insanely hot it got. By the time we left was a bit past 8:30 pm and it was very busy inside. They don’t have fans or AC and our group was sweating.

We’ve come twice so far and can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The food was amazing- Brie, French onion soup, jidori chicken, salmon, duck, steak- everything was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. The entire staff were solicitous, personable and dedicated to great service. The manager always stops by to check in, and the new decor is even lovelier ( the velvety booths feel so luxurious). Give this place a try and you’ll love it!

Our large family great had a wonderful, memorable experience during Restaurant Week. The French onion soup and pear salad were so flavorful. The duck l'orange and Duroc pork were exceptional - flavor packed and perfectly prepared. So tender. The entire dessert menu was top notch.

Had the most amazing dinner at The Smoking Goat. Ryan walked us through the menu and recommended that mussels and cauliflower as starters. Both were incredible. We had to ask for extra toast because the tomato cream mussel broth was to die for. For dinner we split the duck and scallops. We were celebrating an anniversary and received a special N/A sparkling toast which I felt was thoughtful since neither of us were drinking. We were too full for dessert but will definitely be back!

Imperial Steakhouse & Bar is a veteran eatery that exudes old-world elegance, offering tableside dishes, classic cocktails, and a piano bar. The staff's hospitality makes you feel like family and they even share intriguing stories about the building's history, including ghost tales. The decor is classy and cozy with an old-school upscale vibe. Tucked away near Balboa Park, this gem of a place offers delicious steaks and fantastic service.
New Years Eve was our first time here, and it was so fantastic! The corner booth felt intimate and quiet, and the party nite menu was perfectly procured. When we were leaving the live music pulled us back in and we rang in the new year with all the locals! So much fun. Great unique space!

I really enjoyed this place! I like the darker intimate settings. It has nice big booths and big comfy seats for the tables. They have a nice bar with a few tv's for sports. They even have a side room with a big tv for the Padres games! Now, I had the prime rib. It was packed with juices and flavor! Seasoned just right! The salad was on point, and the service was good.

My wife and I found this place a few years back and we never looked back! We loved everything about this steakhouse! The service is spot on and the steak was beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family visiting San Diego!! My wife and I just celebrated our Anniversary here and our hostess went out of her way to make our visit here special!

Would give more than 5 stars. Amazing isn’t adequate. The folks who work here made us feel like family. They shared stories of the history of the building, including ghost stories- that’s right, apparently the place is haunted! This was in my top 5 best steaks of all time. The decor and vibe are crazy -old school upscale, classy, cozy. But again, the staff stole the show - that is until the ghost threw a plaque from a door to the ground…!!! Do yourself a favor and go experience the Imperial!
Jeremy W — Google review
The steak in my opinion tasted very well. I can see it being too salty or seasoned for others, but that’s how I like mine cooked. Other than that, I do think the menu is over priced. For a steak house you pay for great food, on top of a great experience & ambience….which this place did lack in. Totally not worth spending the extra money, when you can go else where for just as good of a steak with a better dining experience. Looking online, it seems like a cool place, but in person it’s definitely outdated. If you want to come to eat a decent steak, they have it. If you want an overall great dining experience from a steakhouse, there are other places you can probably find to enjoy than here.
Patrick B — Google review
Came here on a whim. This place saved our 5 year anniversary! We are “steak people” and let google lead the search when our favorite place was closed for the night. Tucked away right on the edge of Balboa Park, this place is a gem. Delicious steak, fantastic service and did i mention the “Ron Swanson vibe” the leather chairs evoke? I also apparently like martinis now because I had the best blueberry lemon drop martini ever made. Only “down side” is this isn’t an every day dining out spot due to “anniversary prices”, if you get my drift. Worth every penny though. Really appreciated Chef Dave’s personal hello at the end of the meal. We will definitely be back on a weekend for the live music in the bar!
Rachel C — Google review
Mid. Our waitress and the live music buddy were the only good parts of the experience. The place was empty on a Friday night (that should have been a signal of what was to come). They were out of half the menu. They only had 1 baked potato left. 1 baked potato at an empty “steakhouse”. The steaks were cooked well, although they were very salty. This place is way too expensive for what they are offering. I miss Red Fox Room already….

Came here after landing at the San Diego airport. Not bad at all. Got the Ribeye steak. Bit salty but can't complain. Wanted steak and all the other steak places were closing early, 9pm. Live music was good as well. If I were to ever come back around here I'd stop here again.

Chili's Grill & Bar is a family-friendly restaurant chain known for its classic Tex-Mex and American dishes, all served in a Southwestern-style ambiance. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners. Customers appreciate the affordable prices and rave about the delicious burgers, juicy ribeye steaks, warm chips, and flavorful salsa. The restaurant also stands out for making margaritas from scratch rather than using premade mixes.
Chili's Grill & Bar provided one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Southern California! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The sports bar vibe created a fun and lively environment, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely amazing – hands down some of the best Mexican cuisine I’ve tasted in the area. The fajitas were sizzling, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The fresh avocado sauce was the highlight – creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was satisfying, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and carefully prepared. Customer service was top-notch. Our waiter was exceptional, not only attentive and helpful but also fun and engaging, which made the experience even more enjoyable. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and connected with us on a personal level. It really felt like they cared about making our visit special. The restaurant itself was well-maintained and accessible. I appreciated the excellent handicap accessibility, which made the visit smooth and stress-free. The only downside was the washroom, it was a bit outdated and could have been cleaner. While this didn’t take away from the overall experience, a little attention to the restroom would make a noticeable difference. All in all, Chili's exceeded expectations. Great food, amazing service, and a fun atmosphere, I’ll definitely be returning for another round of fajitas and that delicious avocado sauce!

I come to this Chili's often and sit at the bar. The bartender's service is always good. We went to watch the Football on a Sunday afternoon. The vibes of the bartender and other patrons were a good addition to the first Sunday of the NFL season.

All of this for $15! Great vegetarian burger & healthy side options with no extra fees like the other places. Good service too! Only problem with this location is that people park in their lot to go to events at the Sports Arena & then there's no parking for their customers. I wish they would tow cars parked illegally. But it's a great place when there isn't an event at Sports Arena.

Food: Cajun pasta is always our go to at Chili’s, along with the guacamole and salsa chips. Drinks: The casa amigos margarita was disgusting, but the watermelon margarita was good. Service/Ambiance: This location has only inside seating and they usually aren’t busy. No need for reservations. Service, and the speed of service was average.

This a cozy place to slide into a booth and enjoy a meal. Weekday lunch specials are great. Staff remember me by name as well as my beverage of choice. Justin, Jordan and Josh are a few of my favorite servers here. One of the best restaurants with consistent service. Tip: if you have a more modest appetite, order off the kids meal (all ages eligible).

First time at this outback location. decided to try the three-course meal. ordered the hamburger medium rare, Caesar salad, loaded baked potato and a cheesecake for $14.99. Overall, the meal was good the salad very was good. The hamburger was a little over seasoned with salt, but good. Baked potato was good, but also over seasoned with salt. Went before the early lunch crowd so able to get good service. I prefer this over the Chili’s meal deal and is actually just a few dollars more than going to In-N-Out Burger.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much walking into Outback--I figured it'd just be "decent chain food." But wow...I was SO impressed. The steak & coconut shrimp were cooked perfectly, the sides hit the spot (caesar and baked potato) and the cocktails? Creative AND delish. The service sealed the deal. Our server was friendly, fast, and actually seemed to enjoy being there - which, let's be real, makes a huge difference. Overall, I left way happier (and fuller) than I thought I would. Outback, you won me over. Consider me a blooming onion convert.

Update: called location & manager offered to refund will update again once refund is issued. Manager during call was very helpful Curbside Pickup: Ordered the ribeye with 2 baked potatoes and a blooming onion Ribeye was just okay but the potatoes were hard & smelled like dirt & were tan brown over half way through. I truly believe the potatoes were made yesterday. Green onions in the fixings cup for the potatoes were dried out & cheese was plastic looking I’ve ordered this same meal previously even as recently as around 1 month ago & it wasn’t as atrocious as it was this time around. I can no longer recommend this location

We enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff was attentive. My daughter enjoyed her chessburger and fries. I enjoyed my soup, salad, and shrimp. My hubby like the steak but it was a bit tough. He said the bake potato was delicious.

'Outback Steakhouse' is a lively Australian-themed restaurant chain that specializes in serving hearty steakhouse cuisine. While the menu features a variety of beef and steak options, it also offers chicken, ribs, seafood, and pasta dishes at reasonable prices. The casual atmosphere is reminiscent of the Australian Outback. Customers praise the attentive service and delicious food, with one highlighting the flavorful Tasmanian chili as a must-try dish.
Outback Steakhouse never disappoints! The food is always delicious — perfectly cooked steaks, flavorful sides, and their signature Bloomin’ Onion is a must-have. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special occasion, Outback delivers a great dining experience every time.

We haven’t been to Outback in years, but out of convenience and curiosity, we gave them another try. The service was better than I remembered. Our waitress was friendly and despite being busy, was attentive. We ordered: Seared pepper ahi tuna - tasted good, but there was too much pepper. It nearly overpowered the tuna. Caesar salad - dressing was flavorful Queensland chicken & shrimp pasta - shrimp & chicken were cooked well but, the dish was bland. Sirloin & grilled shrimp with mashed potatoes - surprisingly a decent cut of steak and perfectly cooked to desired temp. Shrimp was cooked well and the mashed potatoes were moist. Chicken tenders with fries - chicken was crispy and juicy. Fries were seasoned. Margarita - strong, but well balanced. We paid $191.63 with tip. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but we might consider returning if we’re looking for a no muss, no fuss type of dining.

The food we ate was delicious but the blooming onion was too way salty and over seasoned. Can the chef tastes the batter first before putting the onion into the batter? We want to come back again and want to eat the blooming onion of course. I hope when we come back, the blooming onion will not be salty and over seasoned.

We didn't dine in but spent $$$$$on trash. It's supposed to be a steakhouse. My husband got a steak with absolutely no flavor. I got the new pasta with shrimp and steak (so bland) dry and even paid for extra Alfredo sause and it we barely a quarter filled. Luckily our kids liked the shrimp. Just seemer like they threw everything together. Just wanted to have a nice quite night at home and enjoy. Good luck. Happy Mother's day

By far this had been the wrost restaurant experience for me. We ordered two burgers, a potato soup, Caesar salad, and chicken parm bites. We asked for the entire order to come out at once but it came out at different times, and wrong. Our receipt came back with the wrong items so it had to be adjusted multiple times. The pic is the food we we left at the restaurant because it was not good. Do not recommend!

Took the family to Outback for dinner after some back to school shopping at the mall and was blown away by the quality of service we got. We were welcomed with a smile from the host and were seated shortly afterwards. Our server Vivian was just fantastic, she had our food out fast and kept our drinks filled. Even the manager Jasmine stopped by the table to make sure everything was good. Will definitely be back!

What a great dinner I had with my parents for their anniversary. Food was excellent but the service was even better. We were quickly sat by the manager. Younger Latina woman with glasses. She was courteous and made us feel welcomed right away. We sat in a booth in bar area. Server Rey was on point constantly refilling our drinks. Made the right decision coming here!

Rodrigo was the server at the bar great service.

Traveled from out of town and wanted a premium steakhouse and Red Fox Room did not disappoint! Chris was an EXCELLENT waiter! The ambiance was top notch. I was very impressed that they had the piano bar on a weeknight. They even took requests. The serving sizes are quite generous and the cocktails were marvelous! If we ever come back to SD, we will definitely stop by!

Food (Steaks & Lobster) were fabulous. Cocktails were great. Server (Hannah) was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We had the Ribeye, NY Cut and Top Sirloin. We got lucky and stumbled into this absolute gem . We are from Australia and this restaurant fulfilled all the Americana we could ever need. The Red Fox Steakhouse and Piano Bar is a gem that delivers an unforgettable dining experience. We stopped in for a birthday dinner and were thoroughly impressed by the combination of great food, impeccable service, and a warm, inviting ambiance. From the moment we walked through the door, we were welcomed with friendly smiles and attentive staff who made us feel like cherished guests. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We started with the escargot, which was perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. For our entrees, the steaks were cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. The sides, especially the creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes, complemented the meal beautifully. Each bite was a testament to the care and quality put into every dish. The live piano music added a magical touch to the evening, creating a sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere that was perfect for a celebratory dinner. The talented pianist played a mix of classics and contemporary pieces, setting the mood and elevating the entire experience. It was clear that this isn’t just a place for a meal; it’s a destination for a complete evening of enjoyment. Overall, The Red Fox Steakhouse and Piano Bar exceeded our expectations in every way. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an excellent dining experience, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back to savor more of their incredible food and enjoy the enchanting ambiance again.

Everything about The Red Fox was wonderful! The outside is quite unassuming, but inside, this place is warm and cozy and a great place on a cold night. The food and service were first class. We were celebrating a birthday and Danee, our server, made the whole experience very special. The calamari appetizer was one of the best calamari dishes I've ever had - and I've been a big calamari lover my entire life. We both ordered the steak and lobster tail and were not disappointed. We will definitely be back.

What a great retro dining experience. The atmosphere is sublime and relaxing. It feels like, and is, an old school, steak house. I started with French Martini, my dining partner had an Old Fashioned, and both were perfect. I ordered the Steak and Cod after finding out that the Cod was broiled. It's my favorite way and hard to find! The meal came with salad, garlic toast, and a side, I chose a baked potato. Everything was very good and generous. My fellow chose the pork chops, and they , too, were happy with their meal. Service was wonderful , timely, and informative.
Pam A — Google review
This may be a new location but it has an old classic feel to it. This place definitely caters to an older crowd. It had an antique feel With stained wood, low lights, And even had a live music from a piano and a saxophone players. They did request and even allowed karaoke like sing alongs. The staff was friendly and helpful. For the food I ordered the steak and lobster. I got the baked potato as a side and it came with a side salad and garlic bread. The dinner salad was with a good choice of house made dressing but I was disappointed with the what I'm guessing were the house made croutons. They had good flavor but many were soft and no crunch. The steak and lobster can I tried the steak which I believe it was supposed to be the porterhouse steak which I asked for rare but was closer to medium. The taste had a good flame flavor but felt lacking in salt and pepper seasoning so I resorted to asking for A1( I always taste a Steak with a couple bites before considering steak sauce as a good steak carries itself.) The lobster was good. The baked potato was soft though I prefer a slightly more crispy skin. The chocolate Mousse Pie was good. I finished with a Chocolate Martini a little smaller then I'm use to but it was stronger than I anticipated. I liked it but it kinda felt like if Sizzler was more upscale and a nicer atmosphere.

It was everything great. The meat was cooked perfectly and the waitress was amazing. She brought each the food at the right time. The only part I dislike is that I couldn’t se with band playing from where I sat, but it wasn’t a big deal. So I’d come back for sure.

Red Tracton's Steakhouse, located across from the Del Mar racetrack, is a popular restaurant known for its generous portions of steak and seafood. It also boasts a lively piano bar. Established in 1988 during racing season, this eatery has become a favorite among sports enthusiasts who come to enjoy their delicious prime rib, large baked potatoes, lobster bisque, and the chance to sit near the piano.
Tracy was an amazing server and the food was outstanding. We used a Groupon and we compare this place with our favorite steakhouse! Our steak was tender and delicious, our mac n'cheese was awesome, and our dessert (molten lava cake) was pretty good! The service was just great! Tracy was entertaining and engaging! We will be back!

Went here for lunch with my family to celebrate my cousin's graduation and was pretty disappointed by the food compared to what we paid. 3 of us ordered the prime rib and I ordered it medium rare and the picture is what we got (well done). Luckily the waitress tried to make it right, but even then the NY strip I got was... Flavourless. Food overall was always overcooked or if they recooked it, it was somehow burned and still undercooked?? I don't blame the waitress at all -- she was the only person working and she was very apologetic about the food. Can't recommend this place though. Total I paid $600 for 5 people.

We’ve been coming to Red Tracton’s Steakhouse for years, and every time, Dustin has been an absolute highlight of our visits. He’s not just a fantastic bartender—he’s genuinely warm, attentive, and always remembers us and our favorites year after year. Dustin goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome, from recommending the perfect cocktail to making sure our whole family feels taken care of. His friendly personality and exceptional service truly make our dining experience special every time. Thank you, Dustin, for making Red Tracton’s feel like home for us!

We had an outstanding dining experience thanks to Adrian, who was easily one of the best servers we’ve ever had. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Adrian walked us through the steak options with confidence and helped us choose cuts that matched our tastes perfectly. Her recommendations for wine pairings and sides were spot-on, and she even shared details about how the steaks are aged and prepared—which really added to the experience. What stood out most was her genuine passion for great service and food. She made us feel taken care of without ever being overbearing, and the entire meal ran smoothly because of her professionalism and expertise. If you're dining here, ask for Adrian—you won't regret it!

We had a great dinner experience! The food was delicious and service was very good! Adrienne was excellent, professional and friendly. The additional staff was fantastic as well, always refilling our water or answering our questions. The atmosphere is sophisticated and relaxing. Perfect for adults, not necessarily children. I would definitely recommend the French onion soup, twice baked potato and steak (we had a filet and prime rib). Absolutely delicious! Thank you for being around all these years.

I have been to the bar area at Red Tracton’s many times. Why? Primarily from the outstanding service from the bartenders - particularly Dustin and Jimmy. Both always take particular care of me when I am hungry after playing twilight golf at Torrey Pines. Dustin and I also chat more on a quieter weeknight about whatever sports game is on TV. In summary, I primarily come to Red’s because of the bar team’s service.

Red Tracton’s is one of my all-time favorite places to go! The food, the atmosphere, and the service are always top-notch. I have to give a huge shoutout to Dustin behind the bar — he makes the best dirty gin martini I’ve ever had, every single time. He’s friendly, attentive, and always makes you feel welcome. Can’t recommend this spot enough!
Carly — Google review
In a world of corporate cookie cutter steak houses, Red Tracton’s stands out as a beautiful and classic establishment from a bygone era. The atmosphere was fantastic with dark wood, warm moody lighting, and cozy green leather booths. We were greeted promptly, and welcomed with tasty sourdough bread and butter as soon as we sat down. Our food was delicious! We started with the clam chowder and had the top sirloin steak, salmon, green beans, and the loaded baked potato which was one of the best I’ve ever had. The steak was juicy and flavorful and my husband enjoyed his blackened salmon which was a generous portion and fresh. Everything was high quality, well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and not overly fussy. Our server Katy made us feel at home and made some great suggestions which we took her up on. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and had a warm demeanor which was the cherry on top of our experience. Restaurants like these are a rarity and out of all the options in Del Mar I would highly recommend supporting this legacy business.

From start to finish, our meal was outstanding. We kicked things off with strong, well-crafted margaritas and crispy Caesar salads. Our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and were tender and juicy. Don’t miss the mac and cheese side! For dessert, the deconstructed s’more was a standout. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was warm and lively. The downstairs bar adds a fun energy to the space. Highly recommend this place!

What a fun find. This place is amazing we started with oysters at the bar with a blue berry gin and tonic with smoky rosemary and then was taken down stairs for dinner where we where treated to two amazing appetizers and got to meet the chef. The wine selection is great and the steaks and seafood were perfectly cooked. I highly recommend checking this place out

I’ve been to dozens of steakhouses around the world and The Remy is one of the best. Holy cats was everything about this place amazing. We got seated downstairs in the King’s Club; our server was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. We split a Caesar Salad - the portions were full plates and the salads were amazing. Citrus forward, crispy, perfectly dressed. The bread service consisted of a warm Demi-baguette with an AMAZING compound butter. Main courses - the scallops were melt in your mouth delicious and perfectly seared. The wagyu fillet was other-worldly. Packed with flavor and unbelievably tender. Crikey was it good. Butter pound cake dessert was ridiculously good. Perfectly balanced; the gelato, brûléed fig… it all worked so well. Absolutely amazing experience - thank you for having us and for the incredible meal.

The Remy is a unique, fine dining steakhouse located in Mission Valley. Upon walking in I immediately felt a western cowboy vibe. You can tell the place is well mannered. It was clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully designed. I immediately noticed staircases leading both upstairs and downstairs, hinting at additional seating and possibly more to explore. Our server, Gehrig, was outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, sharing that he’s personally tried every item on the menu. He didn’t just take our order - he guided us through it, offering thoughtful recommendations for each section of the menu. I ordered the 16 oz New York Strip, while my wife chose the 16 oz Ribeye, both cooked medium rare. The steaks arrived cooked to perfection. My New York Strip was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. But the ribeye, my wife said it was the best Ribeye she’s ever had. Of course I had to try it for myself. It was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Both steaks came with sides of mash potatoes and broccolini. We also ordered a wedge salad and a large side of bacon mac & cheese. The wedge salad was very tasty, elevated on flavor. The Mac & cheese had a smoky flavor. The noodles were soft and had a nice texture. Overall, our experience at The Remy was fantastic. Great food, excellent service, and a welcoming ambiance. We’re already planning our return trip to try more of their steaks.

Donovan's Steak and Chop House is a vibrant, upscale steakhouse that truly shines in the heart of La Jolla. With stunning views of the picturesque La Jolla Cove, this establishment offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for indulging in prime cuts of meat and fresh seafood. The newly-renovated patio accommodates 48 guests who can savor delectable options ranging from classic steaks like ribeye and t-bone to unique dishes such as sesame-crusted ahi tuna and Alaskan king crab.
Stopped by Donovan's last night for happy hour. We were greeted and sat promptly after entering. Our martinis we ordered were some of the best. They have great bartenders that know what their doing. We had the cheese plate and calamari which were standard and tasted fine. They served small cheesesteak sandwhiches for free during happy hour. We had their burger which was seasoned perfectly the taste was yummy. A friend had their mushrooms she is a vegetarian and she really liked her food. The crabcakes they serve is filled with crab too. I'm annoyed that many restaurants that serve this skimp on the crab but Donovan's doesn't do that. Another friend had the lamb and she loved it. I highly recommend a visit here. Parking on the street is metered or you could valet for a whopping $15-20. Needless to say I found street parking, lol. Enjoy!

Really good steak! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. We had no problems getting in with a large party either. Really accommodating. And the tiramisu was perfect!
Dominic D — Google review
We were wondering around the Gaslamp District in San Diego, wondering where to eat. I was looking for a BWW, but my wife decided to try out Donovan's, because of the reviews she had read as we were walking around. I was of the opinion that it would be really expensive and not that much better than other Steak Chophouse restaurants, to justify the price. How completely wrong I was !!! We went on a Saturday evening at around 7pm and it was still quite light outside, as we stepped in to the darkened interior, it felt like I had stepped into a dark and dingey, basement like bar. As my eyes adjusted to the low light, I realised just how rich and sumptuous the restaurant was. It gave you the feeling that you had just stepped back in time and been invited to an exclusive dinner event. The bar and the glass screens and dark wood as well as the subdued lighting really set the scene. I instantly felt under dressed, but I needn't have worried. The staff made you feel instantly special, and even though we hadn't reserved a table, the hostess quietly went about her business seated us at a romantically placed table for 2, away from the larger tables. Because of the impact of the ssetting and the attitude of the host and hostess, I just thought, "note to self, this is where I bring my wife for a special occasion, next time we're in San Diego". The service was top notch. Attentive but not obtrusive. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and the extensive wine list; the evenings special was well presented and descriptive, so much so, that, after much deliberation, that's what I ordered. The level of lighting inside the establishment is low enough to give you a sense of private dining but high enough to be able to see your food and the person across from you. It had a candlelight quality to it, without the candles. Seeing the menu was easy, the menus are gently lit from behind, demonstrating the restaurant's dedication to giving their clientele the exclusive feeling, "no need to spoil the ambience by turning the lights up, just gently light the menus !!!" Inspired. So, I had the 16oz prime rib with potatoes and sauteed mushrooms and asparagus. Cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the 8oz fillet mignon, rare; again, cooked to perfection. It really was a relaxing, enjoyable dining experience. My wife and I actually spoke about the service, There's good service and there's great service, the level from all the staff at Donovans, was EXCELLENT. I remember at one point, my wife and I were in fits of supressed laughter at something that had happened a few days ago; the waiter approached our table, smiled and just refilled our water glasses and faded away. He didn't ask if we wanted anything else or do we want more water, which would have killed the mood, he just let us enjoy the moment. He came back later ( when we'd stop crying with laughter ) and we ordered another couple of glasses of their gorgeous Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon. All in all, it was fantastic dining experience and somewhere I'd recommend you go for a special occasion or when you want to feel special. Thank you Donovan's, you made our first evening in San Diego a memorable one. Oh, by the way. For dessert, try the Tiramisu. Designed and perfected by the chef's at Donovan's. It's lovely.

We went here because we saw a review on the Food Network's "Best Thing I Ever Ate"...we were really hoping to try the CheeseSteak sandwiches during Happy Hour. Unfortunately, they are no longer given out. Fortunately, the Food and drink we had was incredible. I had the Stone IPA and my wife had a Donovan's Lemonade. We shared the Steak Quesadilla which was Awesome! They know Steak of course. Delicious food and great drinks. Enjoy!

My first time at Donovan's. We arrived mid-week without reservations (there were 4 of us). That was not an issue for them. The ambiance is great, turned down lighting, dark wood, linen tablecloths. The menus have a back light to assist in reading the menu! Service was prompt and professional. They have a wine list but we brought our own wine. I'm not positive, but I'm sure there was a corking fee. Full bar, non-alcoholic drinks, wonderful dessert list and coffee. Not an inexpensive restaurant but still very nice!
Diane H — Google review
Great place to eat. Best steak in the USA and it comes with the best service in town. If you don't want meat the Salmon is incredible. Their wine selection is second to none and you don't like what they have they will let you bring yours for a corking fee.

How you cannot put together a decent 5 or 10 beers on draft in SD is beyond me. Service gets 5 stars though. Great service. Raising my review to 4 stars for ambience and environment. I realize some people really like the classic steak House. Just not my thing.

Argyle Steakhouse is a classy dining spot located at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, offering stunning views of the lagoon and a sunny patio for outdoor seating. Overlooking the 18th hole of the Aviara Golf Club, it's a popular choice for post-golf relaxation. The restaurant prides itself on serving antibiotic- and hormone-free steaks that are expertly seared to perfection.
Had lunch here prior to golf. Nice decor, bright, overlooking the golf course. Service was very attaintive and friendly. Both sandwiches tasted pretty good, reasonable prices!

The flatiron steak was amazing. The staff were attentive, friendly. Service and staff were excellent. We had a relaxing view of the lagoon and the golf course to compliment a delicious meal.

Wedge was Excellent, Asparagus melts your mouth. 18 oz bone in rib eye was nothing short of amazing. Service was impeccable. Definitely will return

This review is for the weekend brunch option at the Argyle Steakhouse. Our family was pleasantly surprised with the decor of the golf club, the library, and the restaurant. The interior was very clean and upscale and we appreciated the overall atmosphere. The service was exceptional and we felt it was a five star experience. The food was all very delicious, with the exception of the children's menu items, which I guess would probably be the least important aspect a restaurant has to care about. I ordered the crab melt, which was good but the bread was burnt, so the entire sandwich tasted burnt. Other than that, everyone in my party was raving on about their food and the experience. Also, plan on having a long lunch because the food did take a long time to come and our lunch was compete in 1.5 hours...a long lunch indeed.

Great view, but horrible lunch dishes. Horrible in the sense that these dishes are priced way too high for the quality of food they serve. I compliment their bread though....

Always good. Great beef, well cooked, nice happy hour. And the best part, the Argyle S'mores dessert is back!
Chris H — Google review
The food was decent but priced a little bit high. The prawns were not worth the cost, but you have to remember that you're at a resort.
Tim T — Google review
The ambiance is excellent, the food was okay, I had the bone marrow appetizer and it could have used a little more seasoning, and the seafood saffron was pretty good with the scallops seared perfectly. The cocktails were very good as well.
