This place was referred to me by a friend after I traveled to place for lunch with co workers today I ordered my food the ladies taking ordered were RUDE didn’t want to answer questions and seemed bothered by our presence after getting food and just leaving once I returned to work to eat it just proves the girls taking orders DONT LISTEN TO WHAT YOU WANT I ASKED MORE THAN ONCE NO VEGETABLES IN AND TO MY SURPRISE I HAD TO THROW THE WHOLE PLATE AWAY BECAUSE she PILED MY Plate WITH VEGETABLES SO A WASTE OF Money AND A WASTE OF TIME. IM SURE THERE ARE OTHER RESTAURANTS IN AREA THAT I WILL BE VISITING……. KING HUMMING BIRD GETS 2 THUMBS DOWN AND I ADVISE PPL TO SPEND THEIR MONEY WHERE THEY WOULD BE APPRECIATED AND LISTENED TO …… NOT A PLEASANT PLACE LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR FOOD !!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely love the fryed chicken and rice and beans with oxtail gravy. Service was as fast as any human could be with the quality of food. It's a bit small inside, no dining inside. But the quality of food makes up for that and awesome staff.

Bought the oxtail with white rice and salad. 19 dollars large plate. Unfortunately there was no meat pon deh bones. Pure fat and no meat. Plate full of white rice lickle oxtail bones nuff fat. Idk perhaps it was a bad day fi oxtail today. Very disappointed 😔

This restaurant is getting from bad to worst. I went there to buy a medium stew peas with white rice, this server put 3 chicken feet, 2 small pieces of oxtail in my plate. When I ask what's what's up with that? I was told that's what you get with in a medium order. This was never the case when Barker was running this restaurant. To make matters worse, I told her add more meat and charge me for it and she said NO she cannot do that. Eventually I just went to a different restaurant where they don't have a problem serving me what I am paying for. I don't like nonsense. I miss the day Barker left.

Oxtail are delicious! I didn't get the server name that was serving me but she did have a Leo headband on and she was so nice had to ask her bday which is on August 21st. Will definitely be back and hopefully by her bday. Thanks for great service and food. Definitely recommend. No Bad Vibes!!

And I live far from their but when I want Jamaican food I go no where else but sea jammins the food is on point. #1 for me is jerk chicken, rice/peas and steamed vegetables hands down the best. Found a hidden gem! Delicious food (I got the oxtail, rice and peas, jerk chicken, fried plantains and steamed veggies). I would recommend for anyone to come and check out this family business. They served generous portions and fairly priced. Loved it!

The food was really good! Got a large oxtail and the was very generous with the portions, wasn't a bunch of fatty pieces either it was good quality. The rice and peas was perfect, the cabbage was seasoned nice as well. Will come back to try other things.

The food was not bad. I had jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. I really would of like some plantains but they did not have none at the moment. Not a shocker because it was late. Lady had great customer service. The workers seem nice. Didn't eat my whole meal but enough to put something in my belly

This place has the best food! It’s always fresh and hot. The fried chicken is always juicy with just the right amount of spice. The oxtails are tender and falling of the bone, never tough. And the curry goat is mouthwatering. I used to live down the street from Sea Jammins and I haven’t had Jamaican food since because in my opinion, everything else is subpar. P.S. while West Indian establishments are notorious for their terrible customer service, it is the complete opposite here. Everyone is super friendly and really makes you feel like a valued customer

If I was able to give negative five I would. I ordered food (goat and rice peas)for my father and to his surprise he found staples in his food. Food was poorly package. Very irresponsible and huge danger that servers are so careless in preparation. This is pure laziness

I ordered the 1 slice salmon dinner through door dash with a side of Mac and cheese and a side of rice and peas. Not only did I receive my order more than an hour later while my dasher sat there for 20 mins, it was not all that I ordered. They decided to replace my rice and peas with sweet potatoes without letting me know at all. Also, the sweet potatoes were half sweet and half bland and cold, then the Mac and cheese was cold and hard, the only good thing was the salmon and it wasn’t very well seasoned. I’ve ordered from them plenty of times but today was the last day honestly.

10 days later, I am still trying to figure out the high beef patty prices $3.65. Jerk chicken was good though.

I just ordered the goat curry and it is FANTASTIC. Ordered with the butter beans and rice & peas. Both great. It’s a generous portion: enough for two. This is going to be a favorite. WOW!

I had the best lunch! Pepper steak with coconut rice with cabbage… The steak I didn’t even need a knife for, I cut it with a plastic fork and everything was so yummy. Best of all was the service, everyone was so nice.

Excellent experience right near Yankee Stadium. The food is beyond tremendous and you can order ahead to get your order ready to go! The oxtail, the baked chicken and the whiting were off the chain. Licking my fingers and did not use napkins. The Mac & Cheese was delightful while the mixed cabbage made sure you go some vegetables in your system. So if you are near 161st Street in the Bronx, stop by Flavas and enjoy yourself!

I’ve been ordering takeout from Gold Spoon Restaurant regularly in the mornings, and I have to say the service has been consistently disappointing. Every single day, the wait time is far too long — I’ve experienced the same delay for 5–6 days straight. It’s not a one-time issue. This kind of slow and careless service is unacceptable, especially for regular customers. Really hope they step up and improve their takeout process, because right now it’s just not working.

Service is terrible! The people working there don’t have any manners! And the bun and cheese is not fresh the cheese is very hard! I asked for a fresh one and they caught an attitude! And still gave me another bad one! If you gonna open a restaurant in the community have some respect for the people you serving!

The Rasta pasta is the best anywhere. I come from CT back to my hometown to eat it from here and the collard greens. My only complaint is they don't always have collard greens. They are great oh and the cakes! The carrot cakes are delicious!

So im not sure what's going on but past 3 to 4 months the restaurant has been extremely slow with service and with online deliveries. The issue that would solve half their problems is to update the actual site to what's in stock . I've called the store and asked if an item is available before placing an order and was told yes its available to order. I place the order and wait an additional 45mins to an hour before its delivered. I callback to ask why the long wait' oh its because we are making it now. Ok so why not mention that when I called?. I placed an order for 2 meals and instead of calling me or asking if I'd substitute it for something else or maybe even canceling the order they charge me for a side order. Why would you send a'small side order and have me pay for delivery fees and tip for a small side order. Im so pissed at the inconsiderate and poor service. The food is decent and I love that they're 24hrs. But I will only use take out going forward and suggest others to not waste time and energy on delivery from here. I hope you guys read this and make the changes asap. Waited almost an hour only to receive a small side order of Mac is crazy.

The food is sooo good. I tried the bbq wings, curry shrimp and steak nachos. The service is top tier and the vybz are definitely there. I like my drinks soft and powerful and the drinks were everything. Overall my dining experience at the restaurant was great.

Terrible Experience Would Not Recommend This was my first time visiting this place, and it was supposed to be a nice date night, but everything about the setup was incredibly confusing. There are three different entrances, one for takeout, one for the bar, and another for what I assume is the sit down restaurant. It’s not clear at all where you're supposed to go, which already set a bad tone. We waited inside for a few minutes, but no one was there to greet us. We finally asked the takeout staff if anyone was coming to our table, and they just vaguely said, "Yeah, someone should be there." So we went back to the seating area and waited some more. Meanwhile, the bartender was just watching us with a confused look, but not once did anyone come over to ask if we needed help or to greet us properly. After wasting our time and feeling completely ignored, we decided to leave and will definitely not be returning. Truly disappointing experience poor organization and even worse customer service.

10/27/2021-If you are in the Bronx, if you are visiting New York and happen to be in the Parkchester Area, please make it your business to go and feast at the Golden Spoon Restaurant. Everyone goes crazy about Jamaican food and they should, we West Indian folks are serious about our food and it shows; however, I’m here to tell you about breakfast, so this isn’t a rice and peas/oxtail review, this is the mother of all things Porridge review. Most Jamaican restaurants sell porridge (plantains, peanuts) hot cereal breakfast but for me it’s the combination of texture, taste, freshness, density and not trying to hide this flavor in sugar. This porridge literally gives me life. You get a quart size for $7 you can easily feed three ppl with this, but it will be two for me, small single serving may be half that price. With the weather getting cooler, it’s good on your tummy and will definitely hold you to lunchtime. We paired ours with a salt fish fritter. This was a treat since we relocated and are just visiting family. My only complaint is customer service goes a long way, put napkins in the bag and when the customer comes back to get some don’t be stingy listen go get that!!!

I ordered oxtails white rice plantains and fried dumplings. My oxtails was very bland ! Only thing about them was they were soft it had no type of flavor to it not even a bit spiciness !! I was disappointed with that I tried to enjoy my whole meal and only took two bites I don’t see how they can even have the Jamaican flag on their establishment . I was serviced by a older man probably in his 60s who had a attitude every time I asked a question I felt like he was rushing me to order my meal and he also did the same to the person behind me .My fried dumplings were ok nothing special here at all I suggest you save your money and try another restaurant with FLAVOR definitely not here.

the food here is DISGUSTING . The chicken had NO seasoning and tasted very bland - the texture of the skin was soggy like it was boiled and just threw on a plate .Then to top it off the chicken was visibly pink inside . DONT waste your money

I just recently found out about the Feeding Tree and I am glad I did... better late than never. Let me start of by saying that the food is amazing here and so are the drinks. Last time I ordered the jerk chicken lunch special with rice and peas and they threw in a free piece of corn bread. Im not used to that at caribbean restaurants but it was a good combo with my food. The ginger fruit punch is absolutely tasty! My girlfriend and I shared one and finished it in about 2 minutes. We went back for a refill before leaving the street the restaurant is on haha. Some things I'm not too fond of are the small patties. They are really delicious but I finish them in about 5 bites so I would like if they made them bigger especially for the $2.25 price tag. Whenever I go here, the meat sections look empty and it throws me off, but they get so much business that the food is constantly getting depleted. Lastly, when you order a size up, you're supposed to get more of everything, but they gave me 3 pieces of meat with the lunch special and the medium... Other than that, this spot is the go to for a delicious Caribbean meal.

To sum it up, lack of FLAVOR. I came here for the first time with my out of state friend. We ordered rice, cabbage, sweet plantains, oxtail, and jerk chicken. The only things that they did not mess up in was the white and cabbage. The jerk chicken had the spice but no flavor. The oxtail was tender but again, the flavor. The Mac n Cheese, no flavor. They must’ve used the mildest cheese because absolutely not. I am honestly confused about the 5 and 4 stars because it was not good. Maybe theres new cooks..Anyways, do what you do with this information.

Jerk chicken this weekend was great. Time before this was terrible. I have been here several times and it is seemingly hit or miss. Depends on who cooked the food. Jerk chicken, cabbage and plantains. All delicious this time. Hopefully it can remain consistent as its a treat when its good. Their plantains are always good. Patties most times good…had a couple of misses. Too mushy on the misses. They actually don’t do too bad with mac n cheese which is a first for me from a WI restaurant. Its not great but its not at all bad. Overall, we will continue to support. The cashiers are always very pleasant as well…especially the young man…he is refreshingly delightful. IYKYK when it comes to the Jamaican spots….

Food was so nasty I don't know why the reviews are so good for this place. Maybe they changed the chefs here. It was supposed to be a nostalgic moment for my family coming back to the old neighborhood and seeing this place still standing even after covid happened. Sad that the quality, taste and prices are not worth revisiting. Flavas is worse. They used to both be good but we always chose here. Never again! The server lady was awesome. She was patient and gave options when serving food. The macaroni and cheese don't taste salt. Place smells good.

Sleepy vibes with the wait staff sitting low behind the counter. They did not get up to serve us. The lady said, "You go look at what you want and order here. They were on their cellphone and didn't bother to wash their hands .I requested that the lady wash her hands. The Oxtails were sweet. No gravey or cabbage or planting. The rice was tasteless and under cooked. Overall my 1st time and last time. Oh. I forgot the forgettable Macaroni and cheese was absolutely disgusting. The Kraft in the box is better.

Food is inconsistent in taste here. Not sure why some days it taste fresh and other days taste like the chef wasn't in the mood. Also the customer service is rude. Look like they hate their life and job in there. Specially the girl in the cashier. Will get her name next time. She act like she can't hear. Buying food from here is a big disappointment. Order a medium curry goat w/ white rice . The curry goat was OVER cooked & VERY oily. Rice was tough. Completely turned OFF. Couldn't even enjoy. Not worth the money. Lighting was dim in the establishment. I didnt see the prices. After ordering the server gave me this huge piece of macaroni &cheese and shrimp. She charged me 22$ for that and 20 for medium oxtail. With tax I spent 46$ I asked if she had a smaller size shrimp meal she said no with an attitude 😒 I paid the money. The food looked good... but, as we all know looks can be deceiving. The food was horrible. Mac n cheese was dry, flavor bland, no seasoning at all! Just cheese and elbow noodles. The Oxtail were the worst Oxtails I've ever had in my life. Consistency too pasty like they added too much tomato paste or something. But the flavor wasn't good either. ( Edible not Enjoyable) the Shimp was the best part it was crispy and I love the spicy sweet sauce. Only thing it was cold and not the room temperature cold either 😕 I heated it up at work and it was hitting 🙃 The rest was garbage. I ate the rice and peas as well. Will not be back... unless I'm craving shrimp 😩

I placed an order for honey toast chicken, and all I tasted was vinegar. This place is not cooking the food like they used to. I just spent over $100 and am very disappointed.

This food is so worth it, nice customer service with food lined up like a buffet of so many choices. I had the curry goat that falls right off the bones, with rice and a side. I would definitely come back.

This Afternoon I went in and asked if they had soup since it was cold 🥶 out the Gentleman said yes I was happy when I started eating it nice flavor only 2 pieces of Cow foot was given what are they're doing saving the Cow foot for their friends? Just found this hidden gem and I’m glad I did. I’ve tried almost every Jamaican restaurant in the area and this does it for me. The quality & taste of their dishes and overall customer service is incomparable to say the least. Would recommend the oxtails, baked mac & cheese, and jerk chicken. Shoutout to the owners for their hospitality and patience - a new relationship was formed in the process. P.S - if you see the Nigerian currency on the glass window, tell them I sent you!

I’m honestly in love with there beef patties. The best I ever had. Like in my life no cap. The flavor is amaze and the patty is nice and flaky. My sister lives around the corner and brings me two every time she comes to visit.

The man at the counter disrespectful. Food - not worth it... I sent my lady there today cause she loves curry goat. I got the oxtail. We spent $34.50. The food was not what I had the first time going there, the quality and the amount of food we got for the price was so bad. I don't recommend this place to anyone that truly loves to eat good 💯

This is NOT jerk chicken Rasta pasta this is Perdue chicken strips cut up with some bbq sauce, canned Alfredo sauce and jerk seasoning. This place used to have real meat and it’s a shame their charging 25 dollars for food they didn’t cook and bought from the grocery store, I could’ve saved my money and done that myself. Stop fooling people and get back to cooking fresh food.

It’s shameful to have to rate food this low. Let’s start off the food itself, I ordered 2 of the jerked chicken and rice. The rice was flavorless (tasted like white rice with no salt and a splash of bean juice) I thought the chicken had potential seasoned slightly better but realized it was partially undercooked. In addition, we ordered 2 mac and cheese, it is 2025 mac and cheese should not look like a crusted layer of cheese on top of plain noodles I immediately regretted getting it and tasted as it looked. I will say the beef patty was decent but I could’ve bought the same one in the dollar store and if I order the coco bread please at least cut it and not just hand me a brick of bread. Finally the environment and service was horrible I have never felt so bothersome in a restaurant the lady hardly even spoke it was like she didn’t want people in the store. I do have some good things to say about this store the tomatoes were good and nice selection of drinks just need to be visible to the customers. I would probably not recommend this store to anyone in its current service and will be willing to revisit this review if they can prove and provide better food and service.

As yall can see in the photo they gave me 1% of salt fish 99% callaloo. I don’t understand why I’m ordering Callaloo AND saltfish and receiving callaloo with sprinkles of saltfish… not to mention the food don’t have no bumboclat flavor.

The customer service is seriously lacking. There is one individual up front handling the orders and working the cash register. I called in my order on two separate occasions and they assured me that my order would be ready. However, it was not ready on both occasions. I told them that I was double parked outside, so I didn’t want to wait. I didn’t want to run the risk of getting a ticket. I got inside to pay for my order and collect it. Turned out that they didn’t even start preparing it. I waited a little over 10 minutes on both occasions. It is because of this kind of service, I am reluctant to support Jamaican restaurants. I also think they should give the customers better utensils for the price at which they’re paying.

They are extremely disrespectful, they do not have the proper credentials of how to treat customers. Its customers money that pays these employees and they think that we should come to a restaurant to be spoken to rudely and still support and spend our money. Tonight will be the very last i visit Lash's. These servers and cashiers are rude. The food is not even all that good. We all need to spend more time at home and prepare our meals because clearly we work hard for our money and spend it to receive horrible service.. I was raised with class and will not allow anyone to speak to me beneath what is expected.. They will never get my support ever again... Hope all of you wise up... We all are already risking our lives on a daily basis because whenever we purchase from outside, the oil is being used over and over again even when turned black. Waffles were some of the best I've had especially the oreos. The fried chicken did taste a bit old and stale. The jerk chicken was perfect and had a good smoke flavor to it.

The restaurant is super clean. The 2 beautiful servers gave me samples of curry sauce and stew chicken because my palate can't take too much spicyness. They were so accommodating, sweet and super helpful. Thank you so much for answering my questions and allowing me to take my time. They made getting my lunch meal easy and satisfying.

I can’t speak on the service or the atmosphere because I ordered uber eats. Now everything was amazing but I am sad! I asked for an order of chicken wings and you guys gave me jerk wings. I took one bite and my mouth is on fire but if you like spicy it’s flavorful . I don’t eat spicy and I HAVE GERDS . I really just wanted some fried chicken but on the positive omg it is amazing !!!! This is authentic straight from the yard Jamaican cuisine..We got take out from here. Parking is difficult. The food is seasoned perfectly. Only reason they didn’t get 5 stars we didn’t get dessert. I will tell everyone I know to go here. Very very recommended!!!!

Portion size are small. I ordered Stew Chicken, rice n peas with cabbage and paid about $10 and change. The food was good, cheap with the rice portion and the chicken gravy was thin. Large bell peppers were disturbing me real bad 😭. The food tastes great, the only reason I would not return is due to the prices and portion size. (this was not a lunch special size either, just a small order)

Threw everything out the food isn’t good. There’s so many things wrong with my order. I paid extra for a large meal and the container is half empty. I paid $7 for Mac and cheese the container is half empty. Why offer a large just to not fill a large size the oxtails are so small it’s literally just bones and hard meat. Jerk house has been an amazing experience every time I've visited. Food is 🔥 🔥 🔥 shout out to Miller and Omari for doing there thing with the food. The team whole team here is amazing. Shantelle, Jenell, Kay, and Shamala are always there with a smile to greet me and fast service. Dale is always cracking me up with the jokes. Keep up the great work everyone!

Purchase this breakfast this morning and while eating this fly was in the ackee and salt fish. Call them and all the person that answer was like if I needed a refund. Sigh not even how are you feeling no compassion. The health department will be made away.

I recently visited Dumpling Cove and ordered a medium curry goat, requesting no vegetables. When I got home and opened the styrofoam container, I was shocked. The portion of curry goat was tiny, a mere scoop of mainly bones, while the plate was overwhelmingly filled with rice. On top of that, the food looked like it had been dumped in the container with no care or attention to plating. It was ridiculous and disappointing. For the price I paid, this was completely unacceptable. The curry goat itself was also underwhelming in flavor and did not meet my expectations. As a local resident wanting to support a neighborhood business, this experience was especially frustrating. It’s disheartening when businesses serving a primarily Black clientele fail to uphold standards that respect their customers. Unfortunately, this will be my last order from Dumpling Cove. If you want good food and better service visit the Original Dumpling Shop up the street from there. Dumpling Cove will never get my business again.

The food was horrible! Brown stew fish was $40.00 no rice just cabbage. Definitely a scam! When I opened my food I was shocked. Gravy looked like ketchup water. The Customer service was horrible to say the least! They all stand there and don’t even offer a smile. Do better man.

OMG! I've been going to the Dumpling Cove for so long and I was so disappointed yesterday, September 16, 2025 when I stopped to get breakfast. The place was empty. Upon approaching the counter, I noticed that the dumplings were like the size of golf balls so I asked the young man "how dem dumplings so small"? He said asked the chef. I shouted out to the chef and ask the same question. For the entire day I was so mad with myself after ordering the number 4 on the menu board. The saltfish was old, tough and unseasoned. Made me so nauseous. I noticed that the regular staff wasn't there and it's a different chef. Very disappointed 😔 I had to dump the saltfish. Back to the Original Dumpling Shop.

Unsanitary, eat or drink here with caution. Went and ordered a rum punch. Within a sip or two, I found a fruit fly in the drink. I wasn't trying to make it a big deal (stupid of me because that means there is something unsanitary going on in the preparation process) so, I removed it. I continue drinking it (now with a cover) and notice there was another fly. I went in to the bartender and politely told her the issue. She then goes outside without saying anything and starts talking to every staff member about the issue as if I'd lie about a stupid cheap drink. After like 10 minutes, she finally comes in and ignores me to serve other customers. When she finally turns to me she's like "What do you want me to do?" Again, trying to be polite and give them the benefit of the doubt, I ask for a replacement drink. The bartender replies with an attitude, "Well I can't give you a full drink, you can get a half one." I've never experienced such bad customer service. Im trying to be courteous and respectful but clearly that doesn't matter when a place is lacking proper customer service etiquette. I can see why they have earned a 'B' rating from the health department. Also the dumplin and food here in general isn't all that good. So, I'd avoid eating or drinking anything made onsite here. The place is just as disgusting as the attitudes of the employees here.

Brown stew snapper just tasted like ketchup and fish, and the fish was hard and old. Honestly was a humbling experience and made me appreciate the better spots in the area like Triple Js. Whiting and dumpling was ok but they headcrack for drinks.

I was really looking forward to enjoying some good biryani, but this was a huge disappointment. The rice was dry and clearly stale—it tasted like it had been sitting out for a day or two. The flavors were completely off, and the meat was tough and chewy. Honestly, it felt like I was eating leftovers that had been reheated without any care. Not only that but the guys that work there are very rude and full of attitude. Would not recommend this place.

I bought from Al-Aqsa last night. I’m not a local but I heard reviews from some locals and they suggested that I should try it out. At first glance I didn’t like any of the food. They all looked like it was either cooked the day before or in the morning. Everything looked dry and not so appetizing. Anyhow I still wanted to give it a try. This Tehri is tasteless, super bland, what’s even more disappointing is that it has almost no meat and all of it is just rice. I got tehri from Khalil biriyani house as well just to compare. Although it wasn’t that great either but it was way better. It was flavorful and had meat in every bite. Bhai taka diye kine ebhabe manush ke dhoka dewar kono mane ami dekhi na. Eke toh mangsho kete kete small turka banai tar upor aitao dai na. It’s very disappointing.

I ordered 4 fresh paratha with other dishes and they gave me cold, hard and overburned three days old paratha. I came home opened the foil and was so disappointed. I called multiple times and the line is purposely on busy mode not going through. After paying $50 takeout and not being able to eat peacefully is unacceptable. WHY IS THE FOOD QUALITY GOING DOWN? Can owner take a look at why this is happening.

If you cannot manage your online orders properly, then please stop taking them. Your two employees outright denied my order. Even after I stood inside the restaurant, they did not respond. When I asked if they were busy, they said “we’re not free” while they were just sitting and chatting. My pickup time was 9:30 pm, yet they claimed they never received my order. I reminded them that I had placed the order nearly 1 to 1.5 hours earlier and asked why my food was still not ready. At this point, the employee wearing a cap, instead of speaking politely, became extremely rude. He said, “We don’t know about online order issues, call the owner.” I asked him to call the supervisor, but he repeated, “It’s your need, not mine, so I won’t call.” If your restaurant hires people without training them in customer service, this is the result. If you cannot manage online orders or do not have skilled staff for it, you should not be advertising online orders on Facebook. I have been a regular customer of your grocery and restaurant for the past four years. Starting today, I will boycott your business. I know my leaving alone won’t harm your business, but I am writing this so you are aware of how your employees behave. If you think keeping my $22 makes you wealthy, then so be it. I often give to the homeless; today I’ll consider you as one of them. May GOD bring you in front of me on the Day of Judgment—that is my prayer. Edit: This guy had the audacity to reach me on my social media from a fake profile and asked me to remove his photo or else he'll file a lawsuit. My guy thinks that he can't be filmed or photographed while he's working at a publicly open restaurant, he should learn the law. First of all he's rude and their owner is also encouraging these kind of money grabbing things and then they have this much courage of playing a victim card while he's treating me like that.

Their fish curries are very delicious. Chicken seekh kebab was very good but half chicken was dry and bland. Their chilly chicken is good too.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Terrible Food Quality and Rude Service at Al-Aqsa Restaurant I had an awful experience at Al-Aqsa Restaurant (2107 Starling Ave, Bronx, NY) recently. I ordered several items, including Fried Chicken, Beef Biryani, Pastry, and a Sweet Box. While the Fried Chicken and Beef Biryani were decent when dining in, the real issue began with the Pastry. As soon as we tried it, there was a disgusting foul smell, clearly indicating it was spoiled. We immediately informed the staff and even threw it away right in front of them. Shockingly, they completely denied the issue and showed no concern whatsoever. The worst part came with the Sweet Box we took home. Once opened, we found it was completely spoiled. The sweets looked and smelled off, and it was obvious they were not fresh. We couldn’t even take a single bite and had to throw it straight into the trash. I called the restaurant to let them know about the problem, but they rudely denied it again and took no responsibility. This kind of careless and disrespectful behavior from a restaurant is unacceptable. Serving spoiled food and then blatantly refusing to acknowledge the issue shows a complete lack of customer care. I strongly advise everyone to think twice before eating here. It’s not worth the risk of getting sick from spoiled food.

We got takeout mishti from Al Aqsa — they were rotten and had fungus on them. Really disappointing!

If you're hungry, DO NOT GO HERE, YOU WILL NOT BE FED SUFFICIENTLY and you'll definitely NOT get your moneys worth!!! As seen in the video, I made 2 small orders and recieved HALF a container of food but charged FULL price... my entire order came up to $23 and change for what you see, which came with fried dumpling with one order, and festival with the other, plus 2 cod fish fritters. If I would've known, I would have NEVER went there for food. And to make matters worst, when I dug into the spinach, it had absolutely NO TASTE!!! Disappointed all the way around!!! Well not ALL the way around, atleast the servers were sweet and pleasant!! 1 out of 10, will absolutely NOT recommend!!

Saturday April 17th 4pm. I’ll start with the food. It was very goods today. I haven’t came here in over a year because the last few. Times it was over salted. The food wasn’t consistent. But today was good. Now for the customer service. Which earns a zero star. A gentleman and young lady served my mother and I. The guy wasn’t very friendly either but Whoever the young lady was… working that shift today around that time… Her attitude was absolutely DISGUSTING towards my mother. She needs an immediate training in customer service. You do not treat people with attitude if you don’t like your job. Find a new one. Unacceptable. You never know who you are serving. She needs to be let go. It took everything in me not to walk out.

This location have great customer service, great food and a lovely atmosphere. Kay the cashier she's the best.

This location gives the franchise a horrible reputation. I ordered a medium fried chicken, cabbage, rice and peas. The fried chicken was not cooked. Pink and raw inside. The rice and peas or the cabbage had hair in it. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing. I will never return!

So the supervisor By the name Ingrid. she didn’t want to give me the deal. Today is buy one patty and get the other for 99 cents. I’m asking her for the deal. She says “ oh the deal starts in the afternoon!” On the flyer please tell me where it states that? Do better INGRID!

This establishment was really nice as far as decor. The service was mid and the food was ok. My spouse ordered curry goat with rice and cabbage and ended up getting all bones. When he called the waiter over his response was he don’t control the kitchen. Then when he asked to see a manager he said he had no one to come to speak to him. I found both responses to be highly unpleasant and unprofessional. I felt like it was no care for my spouses concern. I did not care for this so I think this will be my last time here. The food was no wow and neither was the service so no need to return which suck because I enjoy going to new establishments and having an experience not just with food. This establishment fell short all across the board. The favorite drink was nice and fresh but lacked in liquor content.

I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life at Flava of the Bronx. I was excited to try their food, but what I got was an absolute nightmare—bloody, raw, undercooked chicken served right on my plate. It was beyond disgusting; it was dangerous. How does a restaurant that specializes in fried chicken fail so horribly at the one thing they’re supposed to do right? This isn’t just bad cooking—it’s a health hazard. Eating raw chicken can cause serious food poisoning, and the fact that they allowed this to leave their kitchen is absolutely inexcusable. To make matters worse, when I brought it to their attention, there was no urgency, no concern—nothing. Just a complete lack of care for their customers’ safety. If this is how they operate, I shudder to think what else goes on in that kitchen. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. If you value your health, RUN—don’t walk—away from this restaurant.

The place is definitely working on itself, however, the food is really good chef going their thing, highly recommend going any day of the week. Because every day is a great day with specials and all day happy hour. Their curry goat and oxtails are top flavors, and their Mac and cheese is a great option or even their rasta pasta you cannot miss with either!! And their drinks are A1. Upon entry, I was greeted and was seated. Service was 0/10 after that. I arrived around 6 PM and did not eat until after 8 PM. I really wish I had a better experience when it came to this restaurant. This place was definitely over-hyped. As a fellow Caribbean, the food was an insult. The food was not really that great. I was starving as to why I ate my chicken, but that was because we waited over an hour and a half to be asked what we wanted to eat. The cabbage lacked seasoning, and it still tasted raw and as if there was still dirt on the cabbage. The rice was cold and was just not pleasant. The chicken was consumable, but I barely ate my food. I believe it was a waste. The jerk chicken was pretty good. The empandas were not a hit. The crust was fantastic, but the filling was not the best. We waited 15 minutes for hookah. By the time I received my drink, there was no ice in my drink at all. I couldn't ask for my drink to be fixed because there was only one server serving all the tables at this establishment, which was unprofessional and unethical. I actually felt bad for her because she was running around, and the place was pretty packed for Cinco de Mayo. There were parties of people that came after us and were being served and fed before us. When we asked if anyone else could help us, for the sake of helping the one server, they were not very accommodating. I asked them to change the hose from the original hookah because you can taste the debris in it, and they still gave me the same hose as the first one when I asked to change it to a plastic one. The music and the vibe are what made up for this experience. That was my first time and will be my last. I would have loved to give a tip, but for the services that I received, it was not something I would want to experience again.

My husband and I went here for a Lil date night the place is nice but the service was trash as was the food the hostess sat us in the back ok red flag #1 then we wait for a a server for about 30 minutes the DJ came to the back and ask us was we being served I said no thats red flag #2 when the hostess came back we ordered with her I ordered a hookah jerk chicken and a drink called the king that was supposed to be made with dussuē but it was my husband got the curry goat and a drink called the BX which was watered down we got our food about 30min later our food was coldand my chicken was still bleeding on my plate how the server seemed upset when I told her she took both plates back put them in the microwave brought my husband his plate now the rice is hard because they put it in the microwave to heat it up she brought my plate and said the chef put a fresh jerk chicken on the grill for me how when she gave it to my the only thing they was change the leg that was still bleeding I told my husband let's goooooo now they don't understand they can really get someone sick I will never go back there ever again

I love this place, their jerk chicken tacos are literally the best. Perfect amount of spice! The drinks here are worth it, not extremely strong but not watered down either. Upstairs they have a lounge area that gives a little club vibe. Will always come back here

Sweet Plantains taste good I ordered the 2 for 1 but it came in one container. West Indian Curry Goat the goat tastes good but it's a small portion size for the price. The veggies that came with the goat was very bland. The Mac & cheese has a weird taste and was not worth the price. I was disappointed. My escovitch side veggie was missing smh

Great food and clean place. EVERY time I order from this place via Uber Eats, I always ask for no cabbage and order something to drink and I NEVER receive beverage or I’ll ask for a certain flavor and they give me something else that I don’t drink. What if I was allergic to cabbage and they don’t take the time to read the instructions on the note, which I write in all capital letters!! Literally. Also, after I submit my food order, I call and NO ONE picks up the phone. The food is good, but the service has to be better, as well.

Tried the food via Ubereats. It was pretty good but the jerk was a little too spicy however, the rice and peas was amazing. I ordered a medium Jerk lunch and they put 2 extra beef patties and johnny cake in my bag. That was a nice courtesy. Not sure if that happened because I ordered close to closing time but I appreciate the gesture. I’ll probably order again to try the oxtail

I ordered the curry goat meal off uber eats for delivery. As I was eating I realized something wasn’t chewable, as I took it out my mouth I discovered it was plastic. I’m mortified, as this is a large piece of plastic and I could of choked it I didn’t spit it out to analyze what it was.

BE VERY CAREFUL! I Ordered a chicken pasta with plaintain. The lady told me the pasta is made after I place the order, which had me thinking it was going to be fresh. It was well seasoned but I could tell the chicken was old and so was the pasta! The next day I couldnt even keep water down! I was throwing everything up! for 2 days my stomach was uneasy. The customer service sucks and I was warned multiple times about this place but you live and you learn.

Staff is rude, but that it's weirdly accepted at jamaican restaurants. They overcharge, so check the menu. I ordered a medium curry shrimp. I was told it only comes in 1 size for $15. I agreed. I was told it would be a 5 minute wait. 20 minutes later it's ready, and she charges me $17, and doesn't remember telling me $15. I looked at the menu, and it said $16. I told them just to give me a dollar back since the menu says $16. She tells me the menu is wrong and carried on with what she was doing as if i wasn't standing there. I requested my money back from a different staff and eventually left with no food and all my money. Needless to 5 will not be returning. The food is okay. It's definitely not worth the bad customer service and shady pricing. Beware.

Called today to order off Uber eats. Their prices IN store and on Uber eats, grub hub, and door dash is very different. A standard curry goat comes with rice and veggies, for $11. On Uber eats, they charge extra for the rice and veggies that’s supposed to be served as a meal at $11.00, but it comes up to about $22 once you add the rice and veggies. I called the store about the discrepancy, and was told it should be $11.00 and that they are busy and don’t have time to explain. The lady was extremely rude, and hung up on me twice saying “well people pay it, you’re the only one to complain about the price difference.” This lead me to believe that they are FULLY aware that their prices are doubled online, and they’re okay with scamming customers. Wouldn’t eat here, didn’t order the food, and after these other Google reviews- I made the right choice.

Does not even deserve one star. Disgusting food. Chicken was burnt to a crisp, dry, hard and tasted as though it was 5 days old. I was given multiple pieces of chicken that were just burnt bones. No meat. The rice had no flavor at all. The only thing that was edible was the one piece of plantain I received. This establishment should be ashamed to be serving this quality of food to the public. I when to order chicken soup and they was 1 small piece of chicken was filled with potatoes. The other reviews that give this place 1 star are was true... This never happens at the Spanish food places in the area. I will be going to Carribean places in Harlem by 125 street area. Do not waste your time at this place, the same happen with the jerk chicken and rice, they give you a lot of rice and little chicken but one slice of small chicken.

poor portions and expensive for no reason. if you're in dire straits, then go. otherwise use door dash or instacart for jamaican options. a side of mac and cheese for $4, undercooked beef patty (had to airfry it) and jerk chicken bones with no meat. but they give you a ton of rices and peas. we can't make this stuff up.

I ordered goat head soup which all Jamaicans know have a distinct taste from chicken soup, but I got chicken flavored soup with no meat and just potatoes and yams. Very nice spot to get some goat curry. Friendly staff. Price is reasonable and portions are decent. Goat curry was nicely done and the extra serving of gravy really added to the flavor. My go to spot when in area.

I Ordered the Large Oxtails and Jerk BBQ Chicken . Both dishes were good and definitely worth the detour we took to get there. Oxails wasn't tough, it was almostmeltingin my mouth. The server was very nice and was ok with answering my questions. So service 5, taste food 5 but the decor of the store is definitely a 2. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong. it's a good store and I would definitely eat here a million more times.

Very compact. Don't go on the nurses ND doctors lunch time. It was horribly crambed. Now let's get to the food. Not to much salt which is a good thing if your a diabetic or have high blood pressure. And assortment of fruits and vegetables. Also the Carrot juice was good. The oxtail could have been cooked a little more but. Over all it was good.

the price of the food is too exaggerated, I do not recommend this place to anyone, I could also notice that the young man who charges charges you depending on how you like it, I could see, different prices, that he charges a ridiculous price of $5 dollars, in my case I I charge for less than a pound, each plate for two plates $36 dollars not including drinks, please be aware they don't take you by surprise

Went for lunch before and it was great. Went back for breakfast today and the ackee and salt fish and fry dumplin tun up!! It’s a must if you’re in the area.

The food was good. The pricing didn't make sense in terms of weight and quantity. The food attached here was $24. My second order was similar to this, plus 2 bottles of water and two juices, and I only paid $28 for that order.

The food was very tasty! Place is clean.. U can not sit and din! Workers are nice.. they take cash and debt.. if you want what you're looking for come early they're close by hospitals so you know how that is.. the food they weight by pounds

My sister, aunt and I visited this restaurant on a visit to the nearby hospital. Every dish we selected was incredibly delicious. Nothing was over or under seasoned—just perfect. The restaurant was extremely clean and the employees were pleasant.

Let the pics speak for themselves… This is a catered tray of oxtails, floating in grease. It was purchased for an event at my job. Can you imagine how embarrassing this is? The owner of the restaurant admitted to some wrongdoing from his staff but also tried to convince me that all that grease is GRAVY and how gravy always spills out during movement of orders. To add insult he tried to convince me “In ALL my years as a businessman, I NEVER had one complaint “(his words) So I’m the first to ever 👀😒. Nonetheless, I convinced him of the problem I had with all this and he proceeded to tell me to come for a partial reimbursement but fail to see it through. As of yesterday, I had someone go there to retrieve the funds and he back bit and pretended not to have had this conversation with me. He stated he would call me to further discuss and I’m still sitting by the phone. I have WhatsApp messages and voice recordings to prove this. Please safe your money and don’t ever embarrass yourself by catering from this establishment. The jerk sauce is sweet like candy and as you see, greasy oxtails

Food is ok! However, terrible customer service from the lady. Being friendly won't KILL you! It's nice to make the customers feel welcomed. Especially people from other cultures that love to support your restaurant. I guess you have to be a MAN to get excellent customer service..Hire someone bubbly that actually likes to make the restaurant feel worth coming too.

Went to them twice on separate occasions. First time I tried their rice & peas with oxtails, second time I ordered the rice & peas with jerk chicken both were bland !!! No flavor, no seasonings. Will not be returning

Staff is so friendly here not like the typical West Indian restaurant. Highly recommended. Food fresh and always delicious. Small but honestly not designed to eat in more of a grab and go restaurant. The food is always a hot so nothing else to be said!

The food was beyond amazing! Everytime we come home to the Bronx it’s our first stop! The service is top notch and they always remember us. Salt fish is seasoned perfectly and the dumplings are just like my mom’s! BEST STOP IN THE CITY

The best Jamaican restaurant in the Bronx. I eat there every other day. The service is excellent, restaurant is very clean, and the food is very tasty for all three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

I’m only writing this review because the lovely Ms. Munchie asked me to, otherwise I would sooo be gatekeeping this amazing place! I got my plate four days ago and have been dreaming about going back ever since. The brown stew fish was out of this world and I am so grateful that they have such considerate portion sizes, I was able to enjoy it for lunch and dinner. My go-to spot from now on 100%.

I used to order this exact meal. The large steam fish and rice and peas. It would usually come in the big silver pan and have a good portion of veggies and okra and pumpkin. Now they are putting the food in the cheap white containers that can’t even close back. This is nothing compared to that. Now i will never buy this meal again. This dish looks tired and lazy. Very disappointed Food also didn’t taste appealing.

Flamez Cuisine is amazing! Every dish I’ve tried bursts with flavor. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly. My favorite is the Oxtail Rice and peas —it’s a must-try! Can’t wait to come back!

This was my first time trying their food. I had the Curry Chicken lunch and dumplings (they were tasty after I reheated them). The CC, sweet plantain and cabbage were good! But I don't know why Jamaican restaurants only give you a table spoon of cabbage 😁. The rice was okay but a little dry even with gravy. The serve J. was nice!

I went there for my first time on 4/22/25 around 830pm.due to the review.. The staff was on the phone she was eating..first off...then I order a pasta it was good.,but the chill shrimp was the worst tasted I ever in require..it was so chewing I had to spit it out..I live in Westchester ny.if I was still in the Bronx. I would have returned back with food and throw it right in her face ...the worst 20 dollar I ever spent... My first experience was the worst . Les Caribbean on 221 is the best food on bronxwood. The hype of this restaurant. Was the wrong hype.. chill chewy shrimp nasty as hell..I will return to tell them how nasty the shrimp was.

Best food hands down! Rarely find a Jamaican restaurant that is ON POINT across the board. The moment I walked in I was taken aback by the vibrant atmosphere, warm and welcoming staff, and not to mention the display and variety of food. I was not disappointed at all. My spot 6 days a week and I would do 7 days if possible! Absolutely love it 😍

The $20 takeout Oxtail meal was a plate of rice with cabbage and sauce scattered on top of 5 pieces of tough, inedible meat. I will never order from this restaurant again. 2 stars because the flavor of the sauce was good.

I ordered brown stew fish and got escovitch fish. When I called to say that, I I was told that’s all they have. Instead of telling me before I purchased it. These dutty naga people are disgustingly disrespectful. I paid $35 for a total waste, food was disgusting. Fried dumplings taste old and full of too much cornmeal. On Friday 12/23/2022 I made an order of chicken foot, peas and rice, and steamed vegetables. My order arrived and the chicken feet looked old and it was all bones. I called the store and spoke to a female. I explained to her about the condition of the chicken foot that I had purchased. The female told me “if you don't like it you can return it”. I said okay, what time do you close and the female said 12:00 pm. I said okay, I will return the order when I get off from work. I arrived at the restaurant on White Plains Road at 10:15 pm and it was closed. I wish I was able to download a photo of the food I received.

This is the closest to home cooking, delicious and has a great lunch special. A small modest restaurant , has A rating for cleanliness . I tried a variety of dishes , all delicious and had trays catered for a party . Would definitely recommend and mostly to support local business .

I’m fairly surprised with how high these ratings are,when walking into the store it was clean and organized but when ordering my food, the person serving my food had a bit of an attitude I asked for rice and peas with Mac and cheese. He got the rice from the back and poured the stew but after bringing my food to the front I realized the rice was white rice but I didn’t want White rice and I stated that after seeing him bring it to the front but he looked annoyed and I didn’t want him to make me another batch so I said it was fine. As I’m eating the food I realized the Mac and cheese is NOT BAKED I kid you not, it was slimey Mac and cheese with chedder cheese on top so it looked baked. There wasn’t enough stew to eat with all that rice. I was disappointed The flavor of the stew was good even though I wish more was poured. The flavor of the stew is what is keeping the rating high as well as the clean environment

The only thing that was half decent was the beef patty. But the oxtail and barbecue chicken was very bland and it was too much to bear because it was alot of food. It taste like there was no salt on the meat and the rice tasted weird. The plantains was just dead and nasty. I'm sorry I must weng on a bad day because this ain't it.

Today was my first and last time ordering from Little Negril Jamaican Cuisine Corp. I ordered two large plates of curry chicken with rice and peas as well as jerk chicken with rice and peas. I chewed on a piece of metal from my order of curry chicken and rice peas. Now, my stomach is upset and I'm vomiting. I contacted the restaurant and explained what happened and was transferred to the chef. The man kept questioning me about where exactly in the food did I find the piece of metal as if could give him a straight up answer. If the food is packed all onto one plate, how am I supposed to know if it was in the rice or chicken? The people didn't even ask me if I was okay nor did they apologized. The chef just simply told me to contact DoorDash for a refund. They sounded as if they didn’t care and that’s not okay. Mind you I ordered this food for my small kids and I. Thank God we're okay. This is exactly why I don't eat out!!!

I don’t normally eat out but I didn’t have the time to cook. I stopped a Boston road to run some errands and see this place name little Negril. Has a Jamaican I said why not support my fellow countrymen. I order a medium oxtail, rice and peas with calaloo and a sorrel drink. It’s the worse food I have ever eaten. The rice was over cooked soft and salt with too much sugar and no peas at all in it, the oxtail was fatty salt and under cooked . I asked the girl to avoided the gravy because I can’t do grease this was where she needs to say the oxtails if full of fat. Normally you cut the fat from the oxtail and sort of simmered it down with lots of pepper, onion, thyme, scallions, garlic and some powder seasoning to avoid all that salt. I would never eat nor would I receive anyone to eat there. Horrible food

This chicken feet soup is out of the world!!!!!!!! SO GOOOOOOOOD and just heart-warming!!!!! So happy they have UberEats available because now I can satisfy my soup craving and overall carribean fix lollll Thank you Mark!!!! Update: 1/5/2021 Chicken soup (second picture) is my new favorite 😍😍😍😍😍 There was a little kick to it. I'm obsessed now 😆❤

As a true West Indian I am ashamed. My order was originally rice a peas an oxtails . There was no rice & peas . “ ok” I’ll take white rice . DO YOU KNOW THEY GAVE ME THE MOST BIGGEST FATTEST OTAILS EVER . Even a chuck of fat as an oxtail . There’s no spice in the food no gravy for the rice ! Horrible. Not to mention I waited over 1 hour for my food . Never again will these people get my money !!!!’ White rice only thing edible . 20$ down the drain .worst Jamaican food I’ve ever had !!!!!

Very terrible food ..just bought the curry goat.they didn’t even cook the meat they just threw it in the pot .nasty ..won’t be goin back there .threw it in the garbage

I’m saying that this place has the Best in taste and amount of food for your money. I haven’t been to a restaurant that can beat it. Never disappoints.

Got the oxtail plate for me and my grandma via DoorDash. The rice and peas didn’t have no peas, seemed like they skimmed as much of the oxtail gravy as they could , didn’t throw any on the rice so The rice was very dry. Also got the baked Mac n cheese which was dry as well

The food is HORRIBLE. The Mac and cheese taste like it’s been sitting in a container all day… weird after taste. Along with that, the salmon was hard and still had the nasty skin on it.

The food was very bad, and it felt like it had been sitting for more than a week. She had it delivered to me, and the sauce was way too salty. I was really disappointed. However, what I liked was that it was hot when the delivery person brought it to me.

Ordered on Uber and the first couple of times I ordered from them food was good! Only thing was they cheap with their plantains lol, but the last my food looked like it was picked at & im like naaah I was so disappointed! And the order was completely wrong don’t know if it was busy day but horrible experience!!!

I decided to try this restaurant on Uber eats. The pricing was reasonable for both orders. I ordered the sweet chili chicken which comes with rice, plantain and cabbage as does the bbq chicken wings (ordered for another). The chicken was was not tender at all, in fact the texture was of that being fried or sitting for awhile and revived with sauce, a lot of sauce! The sauce has consumed my rice now without my intention. I am very disappointed! The chicken is hard! I only gave two stars and not less because my son enjoyed his wings which were also doused in sauce, but kids love that stuff so it worked out for him.

Love her food. Chicken is washed properly. No slimy taste. It's fresh and taste great. One of the best around. I got the stew chicken. I usually eat her Oxtail or cowfoot

Bomb, FLAVOR. Had oxtail, rice and peas, and cabbage. So delicious and well seasoned.

First time ordering them from Uber eats, the food got here packaged perfectly and on time. My issue is with the taste, I ordered the curry chicken and it was very salty and the curry flavor was way too powerful, Even the rice was overwhelming, the slaw and fried plantains were good. I will try another item in the future, I am hoping this is not the case with the other items.
