Wuhan University, established in 1893 by Zhang Zhidong, is a national university known for its grand campus buildings. Located in the heart of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province and home to 12 million people, the university has a rich history and was formed through an amalgamation with other educational institutions in 2000.
Such a beautiful place to walk around and take photos! Coming during the cherry blossom time is amazing. Make sure to say hi to the cats as well over by the student dormitories.
Rico T — Google review
These photos were taken two years ago this time. Sakuras in this university bloom around late March every year. You can have great view on top of the buildings near the trees. It is unforgettable experience to see so many blooming cherry trees. This place must be one of the best places in China for Sakura blossom viewing. There are also extremely big crowds during blooming time. You have to check before going there to see when and how to get in there as a visitor from their website.

Wuhan University is one of the best in China. It can be beneficial to study here Engineering related studies. having environment of higher level teacher staff and competitive students makes it good place to study. Also would be a good choice to learn Chinese in this University. Its another plus is that located in centre of city, with lots of shopping malls in surroundings. Campus itself is big, full of great buildings, feeling like in Wales castles

Technology museum
Wuhan Science and Technology Museum is a fascinating place that showcases the power of mathematics through various exhibits. Visitors can explore interesting projects such as the Mobius belt, quad-wheel bicycle, and binary height measurement. Colorful boards display wonderful mathematical knowledge, while interactive experiments offer insights into the evolution and practical applications of mathematics. The museum also features diverse exhibitions ranging from ancient animals to modern technology, including space crafts and wastewater treatment.
The 1:1000 Yangtze River model uses real water to demonstrate erosion patterns. The VR exhibit lets you "fly" through 1930s Hankou's foreign concessions. Touchscreens near the dinosaur fossils show infrared heat maps where visitors' hands linger longest.
Arman K — Google review
We visited the science & technology museum at October 4th, during the National Day of PRC. It's free but need ID card or something like that to get the tickets. There are so many people, we have to lined up for about 25 minutes to go inside. I assume it would not be so crowded if we visit it at other days. The exhibitions are great. From ancient animals to earth history, from universal to modern technology, from space craft mode to wastewater treatment technology. I think no matter how old the visitor is, there must be something he or she may interested in. I saw many parents with their children playing around here. One complain is the lack of introduction. Basically people have to rely on themselves to understand or figure out everything showing up here.
Runsheng H — Google review
Very nice science museum. Surprising amount of signage and info in English, so relatively tourist friendly. Nice day out with kids.
Benoit V — Google review
Its a beautiful place to visit. A single time and a single day is not enough to visit here. I visited yesterday and could visit only the 1st floor. It is full of mathematical technologies and at the end, there is 5G Exhibition. I enjoyed my whole time there. I passed around three hours and only in the 5G area. The VR, is really something to try. and believe me there is a big que. You have to be patience and wait for your turn. Feel the virtual Realistic world. Avoid the weekends, as there is a big crowd and you have to wait in a long que in every where there. There is also mathematical technologies on the same floor where children enjoy their time. Different mathematics techniques are there to try. On the Second floor, there are animal life science area and the Space Science area. There are also a lots of things to watch and enjoy. Specially, the kids enjoy the areas. And also the parents could enjoy with their kids. Overall, Its a huge area. Be careful with your groups. Be together with them all the time. There is more probability to be getting lost with your friends. and Its hard to find them again. So, hold your kid's hands and follow each other all the time. Take water, juice and dry foods with you. You get tired moving around. Hope this review will help you. Its a most visit place. You must visit this museum when you are in Wuhan. Enjoy your visit.

There some retire destroyers and one submarine hide in back of museum. Need to buy a ticket as it's under navy's management. Plenty of fun. Only regret submarine telescope was removed......
Liang W — Google review
Good exhibitions on various topics (space, dinosaurs, traffic etc.), lots of interactive experiments. Would recommend if you are in the city for a couple of days. Free entry.
Johanna W — Google review
Free entrance by document (passport), really huge and we'll find, is divided by area (air, water, biology, ecc) and you can see with documents and experiments everything about that, story, evolution, modern technology, ecc. Very nice to see, very instructive for child (and adult), and if you have little baby there is very big area for toys and game but only one parent can go inside with the baby. Once it you can have walk in river bank, very nice.

Water & Amusement Parks
Theme Parks
Happy Valley Wuhan is a popular amusement park located in the Hongshan District of northeastern Wuhan. Opened in 2012, it has quickly become a favorite destination for tourists. The park offers a wide range of thrilling rides, including themed coasters, water rides, and interactive games suitable for both young people and families. Visitors can enjoy various performances and shows as well as high-quality service from the friendly staff.
The wooden rollercoaster uses traditional Chinese joinery without nails. The haunted house incorporates actual Wuhan folk tales into its scenes. Employees in the kiddie area wear shoes that make cartoonish squeaks to reassure children.
Arman K — Google review
Been to Shanghai Happy Valley many times. My experience there compared to Wuhan was much better. The most frustrating thing is that most rides only have one working safety attendant. As a result, for rides that should be processing visitors quickly and in large numbers, like the giant frisbee/gyro swing, have long waiting times. How can you have only one person checking 30 people? OCT THUST SSC 1000 was, of course, the headliner roller-coaster. I did some research before going and learned that this coaster was designed by Intamin in Liechtenstein. The coaster was designed to process an average of 1200 riders an hour, however the actual pace was about a quarter of that. It was extremely frustrating to learn this and being familiar with a similar headlining coaster in shanghai and knowing the average processing time difference. The last ride I went on was the wooden coaster and while queuing here, both myself and other visitors verbally expressed surprise at the pace that line moved. It was so quick and once I reached the front of the line, I realised this was because they had two staff members checking the safety requirements of passengers, that aside, the woman seemingly leading the team at this ride was enthusiastic and seemed to understand that her pace of work can affect the experience of visitors.
Matthew D — Google review
Happy Valley is one of the best theme parks. There is also a water park named "Maya Water Park" near to it, often opened in summer. It was 250¥ for single entry and 400¥ for a year with unlimited entries. When you live in Wuhan, then why buy a single entry. So we bought membership. A number of rides are available here, but you have to be in queue for every time taking the ride. Roller coasters are awesome we loved these. Freefall is also super but too short duration.
Shais H — Google review
The facilities are okay. However, the park seems to be a little small compared to the one in Shenzhen while the waiting queue is as long as that one.
Ding Z — Google review
One of the best theme parks in china, everyone should go visit there. Really fun, lots of cool performances and delicious foods.
Jayden — Google review
It's okay. Just okay. There's a lot of rides but some bigger rides the park won't open them if it's a slow day, which kind of sucked. Some of the rides, i forgot the names, spins you for a very long time which can make you very nauseous. Watch out for those that spins. Make sure you have an umbrella if it's a sunny day. It gets pretty hot and the umbrellas for sale in the park are way overpriced. Of course. The food is also overpriced and tiny in quantity. Sure doesn't look like the pictures shown.

i could really see peduto wolfe and fritzgerald here celebrating after they sell out pittsburgh to their sister city in china ..

Hankou Jiangtan is a scenic area located in the Jiang'an District of Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It covers a vast area and is adjacent to the riverside avenue, offering stunning views of the Wuchang Yellow Crane Tower Scenic Area. This rich district boasts excellent shopping opportunities and markets, making it a popular destination for locals. The park along the river provides a pleasant environment for walking, exercising, kite flying, and relaxation with family or friends.
I recently visited 武漢漢口江灘, and I was truly captivated by the stunning night scene. The atmosphere along the river is enchanting, especially with many buildings on the opposite bank illuminated in soft, harmonious colors. The vibrant lights reflect beautifully on the water, creating a picturesque view that is both serene and breathtaking. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or simply to relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, I highly recommend experiencing the night ambiance at 武漢漢口江灘, as it showcases the charm of the city in a truly remarkable way.

Its a big park along the river, where is nice to walk in a good weather, enjoy exercising, making kite, resting with family or friends. There are fontains, sculptures, small pools, simulators, playgrounds. You can see a lot of wedding photo shootings during the weekend. So its one of the nice and green spots of Wuhan you may visit

Airport
Wuhan Tianhe International Airport is a large airport with numerous international flight options, as well as various shops and restaurants for travelers. It offers convenient transportation, being just a short drive from the Hankou rail station and the city center. The airport features modern facilities designed to international standards, including an indoor pool and spa at the centrally located Puyu Hotel.
Modern and clean airport. No vat refund counter here so be careful if you plan to shop from other cities before leave China from here.
Nakin K — Google review
Very modern and sophisticated airport. But I have to say that many Chinese airport are modern and sophisticated as well. One thing that amazed me was there was a Tim Hortons. Generally speaking, Chinese dishes are fascinating and I really enjoy it. But sometimes I feel like I want something I am used to. And Tim Hortons! They serve very same hamburgers as in Canada. For your information, they also server Chinese version of hamburgers you probably cannot find in Canada.
Gaku K — Google review
Big airport, with more international flights, compared to last year. Most lounges are still closed.
Johannes W — Google review
I had the misfortune of a 10 hour layover here, yes eveything is very modern and maticulously kept but thats only where the nigthmare starts. Very few staff have any basic grasp of english, given its an international airport I thought that would be standard. You are under heavy surveillance all the time, you also get followed. Wifi didnt work at the airport and find a place that takes any western card for payment for things like food etc is virtually impossible. While visually impressive wuhan airport easily goes down as the worst airport experience I've had in my life. Im not sure how china fails so badly at a good international airport experience when even smaller lesser countries do so well and with ease.
Paul S — Google review
💜Transportation: Taxi RMB50 around from Town to airport, good metro connection to town. 💜Floor plan: clear instruction, only 1 building for all domestic and international flight 💜good lighting and decor 👎🏾few shops inside the Gate and restricted area. Only one coffee shop and cafe for international flight
Cyrus C — Google review
Nice airport, clean. Some seat will provide free charging and wifi. Cons: Not much sign board, hall in hot, shops and restaurants not many. Hall looks very empty
Jerry C — Google review
I would like to express my appreciation for Mr. Zhang Kun (张坤), a staff member providing electric cart service at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport between terminals. During our transfer between terminals, I encountered difficulty paying for the electric cart ride because I do not use Alipay or WeChat Pay, and Mr. Zhang did not have small change for cash. Out of pure kindness and a strong sense of responsibility, Mr. Zhang generously paid the 15 RMB fare from his own pocket to ensure that my children and I could travel comfortably between terminals. His warm assistance and selfless gesture made a stressful moment much easier for us. Mr. Zhang Kun exemplifies the spirit of true hospitality and service. I sincerely hope his kindness will be recognized and appreciated by the airport management. Thank you again, Mr. Zhang!
