The Ock Pop Tok Living Craft Centre in Luang Prabang, Laos, offers an immersive experience into traditional Lao weaving. The award-winning center provides detailed explanations of the weaving process, including the extraction of natural dyes from leaves, bark, and flowers. Visitors can learn about different weaving techniques used by various ethnolinguistic groups in Laos.
An amazing way to learn the craft of weaving, it very impressive to see the skill that is needed for creating these beautiful pieces. On top of the amazing skills, the people and the location are amazing and welcoming. I believe you will have a good time if you appreciate crafts!

Well worth the visit! Amazing to see how this organization helps to preserve and promote local heritage and craft. We came outside of the normal demonstration times by the free tuktuk & didnt expect much. We were blown away by the very informative free tour that was given to us and the incredible work being done by the masters and artisans working here. Definitely come and visit when in LP. Also a large shop containing a huge variety of locally made artisan goods, many different items than their shop in town.

This is a place to explore and soaking up the local way of life in Luang Prabang. Beautiful place but service from the entrance must be improved. They seems not welcome the customer and not helpful on the rainy day. The girls in the shop was great. We purchased a few things from here.
Curvy K — Google review
Visiting the Ock Pop Tok Living Crafts Centre was an absolute delight! We were lucky to visit during their 25th anniversary week, which made it even more special. It was fascinating to learn about the inspiring story of founders Jo and Veo, and their ongoing commitment to empowering women and preserving the traditional weaving heritage of Laos. We spent the day immersed in the world of silk—learning about silkworms, dyeing techniques, and weaving our own scarves while watching the artisans demonstrate their incredible skills. The setting, right on the peaceful banks of the Mekong River, made the experience even more magical. We ended the day with a delicious meal at their riverside restaurant, Silk Road, picked up some beautiful souvenirs at the gift shop, and enjoyed the complimentary tuk-tuk ride back to our hotel, Baan Pila, which is also part of their charming collection. A truly meaningful and memorable experience - highly recommended!

The spirit and grace of Ock Pop Tok is really something amazing. Great cafe, top quality fiber art & mastercraft, fantastic workshops!
S P — Google review
Tried my hand at silk weaving at Ock Pop Tock ❤️ Watching the master weavers set up patterns on the loom strangely reminded me of coding. Each row like a line of code and each thread a part of an algorithm. It’s like math, art, and tradition all woven into one. I loved learning the meaning behind each pattern and how deeply it’s tied to their history and culture. And felt inspired by how this social enterprise empowers women from local villages to earn sustainable income through their craft. 💚🧵

I spent an entire day at this center, attending an embroidery class in the morning and a bamboo weaving class in the afternoon. The center is located south of Luang Prabang, and a tuk-tuk provided by the school will take you there in just a few minutes. It's a beautiful place overlooking the Mekong River. Here, the teachers -expert artisans supported by a translator- are incredibly kind, helpful, and patient. They will guide you step by step through the basic techniques of their craft. I loved every moment I spent here, including the delicious Laotian lunch that was part of the package. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience: it’s a wonderful way to immerse yourself in Laos’ rich artisanal traditions while enjoying a peaceful and relaxing day.
Eva C — Google review
My husband and I stayed at Ock Pop Tok during our honeymoon. It was the perfect, peaceful place to land after an adventurous motobike trip in Ha Giang. We enjoyed a riverfront suite, which was spacious and comfortable. The staff left daily gifts, deeply rooted in local cultural. It was very educational! I attended an embroidery workshop - which I would highly recommend - and my teacher (Chiantry) and translator (Oun) were so patient and kind to me ! We ate at the Silk Road Cafe / Restaurant everyday, and were so pleased with the diverse and delicious menu. OPT provided a free tuuk tuuk, which we used daily to go downtown and explore. The staff (Namfon, Santi!) were so kind and helpful - they helped us coordinate all of our local activites (Kiang Si Waterfall, Sunset River Cruise, etc). I have no suggestions on improvements - OPT is nailing the social enterprise / tourism game!

Market
The Luang Prabang morning market is a vibrant and bustling place where local vendors sell an array of goods, including fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and handmade textiles. Visitors can immerse themselves in the cultural richness by exploring traditional Lao garments, marveling at intricate Hmong embroidery, and admiring crafts from hill tribes.
Very local and touristy market at the same time. We liked to pickup some sticky rice with some barbecue grilled meat, sausages and eat at a coffee stall right in the middle of the market. If we ever come back to Luang Prabang and stay at an Airbnb with kitchen, I’d not miss the chance to go to this fresh market and cook Lao dishes, the herbs and veggies here were just mind blowing. Things we tried and liked: mungbean cake, coconut crepe, seaweed floss with sticky rice, Lao sausage, fermented pork, some sweet dessert dipped in coconut flakes, coconut milk dessert Things we tried and didn’t like: grilled banana (too dry), bee wax (might be good as ingredient to cook but eaten just bee wax like this was…meh), croissant (curious to try but it was a no go 😂)
Tam L — Google review
Strolling around and try the sticky rice, bamboo shot local curry, mixed vegetables salad Luang Prabang recipe is amazing for me. Seeing way of folk life and chit chat to them is such a lovely.

If you want a real taste of local life in Luang Prabang, you’ve got to check out the Morning Market. We went super early—around 7am—and it was the perfect way to jump-start the day. You’ll see everything from fresh produce to surprises you definitely don’t see back home (we spotted some Sapa fish split wide open and even a skinned weasel…wild stuff!).It’s mostly for locals, so you get that authentic vibe—lots of sights, smells, and a few things that will totally throw you off in a good way. We picked up some coffee and wandered the stalls for a while, and honestly, it’s a must if you want to see the real rhythm of Luang Prabang. Just bring your curiosity (and maybe skip breakfast until you get here)!

Must see if you’ve never been to a wet market without the odors of a standard wet market. With cooked food, vegetables, fruit, to freshly caught fish/birds and larvae, this is a great way to see how the locals do their shopping. Oct 2024

Very local market. Interesting to see how the local people shop for food and necessities. It is open dairy. If you have a weak stomach, pass this by.
David L — Google review
Loved it!! We went around 6am and it was mostly locals buying fruits and vegetables. There are some prepared foods, and the spring roll we got was SO delicious. Lots of raw meats and fresh produce. Some curries, fried foods, street meat, etc. Overall a big vibe, would recommend.

Tamarind is a unique establishment in Laos that serves as both a restaurant and a cooking school. Founded by an Australian woman and her Lao partner, Tamarind aims to offer visitors an exotic experience while educating them about Laotian cuisine. The restaurant sources ingredients from local suppliers, contributing to the community while introducing guests to the wonders of Lao food.
They offer very good dishes and above average hospitality. Due to budget limit, I ordered 3 dishes, fish in banana, sticky rice and sweet sticky rice with banana, mango and tamarind sauce. They all tasted good and well- cooked in new way. I would love to cook these dishes back home.

food was authentic and tasted very good, we took the bamboo soup and a set sharing menu for two of us, was all delicious. nice ambiance, and excellent service. We liked a lot the bamboo chips and the laolao rice whisky, we tried three flavors! The chilly one is great! Haha we like spicy. We preferred the table inside because there was not much to see and enjoy along the street. I definitely recommend this place. And we would come back to try also other dishes too.

We went for lunch, wanted to try a little bit of everything so went with a tasting menu - some of it really good, some not for my taste. Service was excellent and the tamarind drink was definitely interesting. We liked the mango sticky rice with black rice the best

We had a fantastic evening at Tamarind Restaurant, where we chose to try the vegan tasting menu. It was an excellent decision. The dishes were all incredibly fresh and vibrant, and it was clear that each one had been prepared with great care and attention to detail. The generous use of fresh, local herbs made every bite a delight. The entire experience was enhanced by the wonderful service. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain each dish and its traditional Laotian context. This guidance added an authentic layer to the meal, showing us not just what to eat, but how to eat it. Tamarind offers a perfect blend of authentic Laotian cuisine, high-quality ingredients, and outstanding service. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable meal in Luang Prabang.

I like this restaurant and I came here 3 times during visiting Luang Prabang. The restaurant serve the traditional Laotian foods and very unique. Full of favourites and very tasty. We ordered Bamboo soup and Som moo sour pork and it was fantastic 😋 highly recommend. The only dish that I would avoided is Stir fried Basil leaf with Frog 🐸 if you don't eat a whole Frog. It was not just a Frog's legs but the whole body of Frog's with skin. The staff was so friendly and he said Laos people eat the whole Frog. We came again to try another dishes and the staff gave us a house dessert.
Curvy K — Google review
The best restaurant we visited in Luang Prabang! All the food and drink we tried (we ordered the vegan set) was absolutely delicious, an explosion of different flavours and really big portions. The service was super attentive, explained all the dishes and how to eat them. We got the impression that they really cared about bringing Laotian food culture to tourists. We also booked a cooking class with them which was a fantastic experience as well! Can only recommend❤️

Bamboo Tree Namkhan Riverside Restaurant is a unique spot that offers both dining and cooking classes. The restaurant, located on the Peninsula, provides an immersive experience where participants get to visit the local Phou Si Market to select fresh ingredients for their chosen menu. The cooking classes start at 9 am and include coffee and tea service before heading to the market. after spending the morning exploring the kuangsi waterfall and riding our scooter back to LPB, we were craving for a big meal, and decided to lunch here. We ordered basically the 3 dishes on the page of most popular Laos dish. Yes we were too hungry that no time for browsing. Ho mok was very delicious. Lab was good. They did adjust the spicy level to your request. We went with 1 chili level and it was pleasant for a summer lunch. Or lam was a bit disappointing, soup was bland. Each dish served with a portion of sticky rice, so the 2 of us were super full with these 3 dishes. The salted peanut for appetizer was offered and it was very interesting to have it mixed with lemongrass. You should try their mango smoothie, really worth the money for such a huge portion of good sweet mango. Restaurant was quite empty during lunch time, it was beginning of March. Indeed the restaurant was very pricey compared to many other options you could have for traditional Lao food, but it was still worth it for the attentive presentation and the setting.

The French pastries are the best I had fora long time. Sandwich was ok. Coffee very good. And the meals are well presented and delicious. Friendly service. On all we went three times for both lunch and diner.

rare 5 star review. had a late lunch and it was excellent. the taste of the lemongrass-wrapped cooked pork was what I had been envisioning since wanting to visit Laos years ago. easily the best meal I had in the town. staff was friendly with good english. go for the Mekong seaweed and joebong (something like that; it’s #4 on the Loas food page of the menu). indoor and outdoor seating. clean bathroom. an absolute must when in “downtown” shopping/temple area. the highest of recommendations.

We had a meal at Bamboo Tree Namkhan Riverside Restaurant and tried two dishes: the tofu with curry and the chicken chili curry. Both dishes were well-prepared and flavorful, offering a good balance of spices. The riverside location provides a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, making it a nice spot for a meal. Overall, it was a good dining experience.

Great authentic Laos food. Wide selection of local dishes with amazing flavours. Staff were very welcoming and attentive and my wife and I hope to return to try some more dishes.

Good Lao Food in a nice ambiente, also works well for mid-sized groups. A little pricier than average for the city. We had a couple of dishes on the table as well as one of the menu. All were great but I recommend to order separately and did not feel like the menu choice was the best option. VERY IMPORTANT: Spiciness 3/5 is extremely spicy, only take this if you are confident in your own tolerance of spicy food

Embark on a Mekong River Cruise and immerse yourself in the beauty of Southeast Asia's largest river. Whether you opt for a short 10-minute boat ride or an 11-day journey, the experience promises to be unforgettable. Enjoy stunning sunsets, observe local fishermen at work against a backdrop of karst mountains, and take in the exquisite scenery as you float along the river.
Took the Mekong River Cruise as part of a package tour and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the sun set. Our boat had a toilet onboard. The Cruise travels at slow pace which gives enough time to enjoy the views on the way. Watching sunset at the end of the day was very relaxing. We visited in the month of January, the sky was very clear which was a bonus.
Soudamini M — Google review
Unforgettable experience. It was a cloudy evening when we started and soon it was drizzling. However, the boat took us slowly into the vast river with the last rays of the sun kissing the surface. The tall buildings on either banks seemed small from the distance, and dark in the fading light. Since we had the boat to ourselves, everyone walked around, sang, and took photos. The one hour we spent on the boat went unnoticed.

Beautiful place. Its a shame to see all the plastic floating in the river after being dumped out of the boats. Lovely people but they need to be educated on the damage their rubbish is doing. They are killing our planet. Just to update.. the owner has asked me to remove my review because I may have been mistaken in what I saw. What a horrible person living in denial. The rubbish being dumped from every boat cant be mistaken for anything else. I loved Laos but hated meeting all the river boat cruise scammmers.

My wife and I booked the eleven day cruise from The Golden Triangle to Vientiane. This was our seventh ship, and the experience was exemplary. The ship was absolutely beautiful, all teak and mahogany wood. Dress code was very casual with bare feet on board. The on board meals were great, accompanied by lively conversations. There were thirteen passengers and sixteen crew members, so there was certainly no lack of outstanding service. Everyone spoke excellent English. Our cruise director Thomas was excellent to say the least as well as the ship’s director Mr. Air. We made many stops along the way in Laos in order to visit Wats (temples) and various local villages. The local village inhabitants seemed a bit wary of us, like we were invaders from Mars, but friendly and all smiles none the less. In one of the villages, the children all came out to greet us. They were happy to give me ‘high fives’. They all congregated in their school room and sang a couple of songs for us. Their enthusiasm was very contagious indeed. We had a lot of rain for the first few days, and one of the villages we visited required quite a hike through mud that was so sticky that it sucked the soles right off my Nikies. Cruising along the Mekong was fabulous! The quiet and placid scenery was stunning. Unspoiled jungle covering the continuous stream of mountains was alone worth the trip. This cruise was well worth the price of admission and I highly recommend it. My thanks to Gary and Mr. Onh in the office for helping me book this trip.

KAMU BAMBOO WEAVING is a delightful destination for anyone who appreciates the art of basket weaving. Nestled in a charming shop, visitors can discover an impressive array of bamboo baskets, each showcasing exquisite craftsmanship. While some pieces may come with a higher price tag, they are truly works of art that elevate any home decor. The knowledgeable English-speaking owner adds to the experience by sharing insights about the products and their creation process.
This shop is a hidden gem and a must see if you like basket weaving. There are several different types of baskets here and the pricier ones are, in my eyes, works of art that have been retired from working life. Some of the pricier baskets are a million plus Lao kip, but would be great decorations for one's home. This shop is great if you're looking for a keepsake that's a little different -- the baskets have a story and are part of a strong cultural heritage -- I love looking at what the store has on display. While there are baskets with high price points, there are also lots of smaller woven handicrafts on display at more accessible prices. Lots of shops sell wonderful textiles in Luang Prabang, but I'd add this shop to the list of interesting stores to visit here.
Brian J — Google review
The best variety of bamboo weaving in town. Added bonus the English speaking owner is very knowledgeable about the products.

Bought a bamboo basket there. It is slightly pricey compare to other souvenirs at night market but quality is very good. If you are looking for a bamboo basket, you may find one!

Mulberry paper workshops offer a unique glimpse into the traditional craft of handmade paper production. Originating from the bark of mulberry trees, this artisanal process is not only environmentally friendly but also steeped in cultural significance. Visitors can engage in hands-on experiences, learning about the intricate techniques involved in creating this delicate yet durable paper. The workshops often showcase various artistic applications, from calligraphy to painting, allowing participants to explore their creativity while appreciating the rich heritage behind each sheet of mulberry paper.
(Translated by Google) We did a fantastic papermaking workshop. Each person could make five sheets of paper of any size. The shop has a wide range of materials, and you can collect flowers and all kinds of plants from the garden. The owner is super nice, patient, and explains everything. I highly recommend it, and the price was very reasonable. (Original) Wir haben einen super tollen Workshop zur Herstellung von Papier gemacht. Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden is a picturesque and off-the-beaten-path gem located across the Mekong River. The ticket price includes a 15-minute boat ride to the garden, which features bamboo, orchids, palms, ginger, and limestone plants. Visitors can explore the ethnobotany section and enjoy offerings at the on-site cafe.
Very nice place to visit - quite off the tourist beaten track. The gardens are not that big and can easily be covered within about 90 minutes with fast walk. But best is to try to spend 3 to 4 hours there to enjoy the different areas and also the cafe (which has very good offerings). Need to take a boat to get there and it takes about 15 minutes. The cost of the ferry is included in the entrance ticket (which cost 200,000 kip). The only annoyance there are the insects - there everywhere and won't leave anyone alone; best is to prepare insect repellent when going there.
Patrick H — Google review
The boat trip on the Mekong is great and the gardens which are only 2 years old will be magnificent in a few years. The basics for great gardens are all there since it was a royal retreat many years ago. Well planned and non profit it is worth a visit while in Luang Prabang. Everyone involved are very friendly and helpful.
Doug P — Google review
A nice botanical garden on the other side of the Mekong. Ticket price is 200,000 and includes the 15 minute boat ride to the garden, which is nice. It's quite hot so best to get an early start. I'd say it took us 2.5 hours to go through the park and have a smoothie at the (expensive) restaurant there. They have a really neat ethnobotany section, as well as gardens for palms, bamboo, ginger, and limestone plants. Overall a nice experience.
Kimberly B — Google review
Well maintained gardens, lots of informative signs and beautiful cafè. The price is a bit steep, but includes boat transfer, tea tasting and a little bamboo handicraft workshop.
Benjamin A — Google review
I had a great time in here! It’s so fun and You will chill out with the unique flowers and tree. I recommend to go to this Botanical Garden when you come to Luang Prabang. The ticket office in the town is cool and clean. And also the people in this center and the garden are so nice : ) Very good short trip!
K M — Google review
The ticket is fairly expensive (200k kip), but includes boat journey, a craft workshop, and tea tasting (the tea is cold, unfortunately!) Despite that, this is a heavenly oasis of calm, even for somewhere as laid back as luang prabang. Just walking around and having no one else around, listening to the rustling of the leaves, and taking in all the greenery... Lovely. Don't bother with guided tour as some others said, just get ticket and go across, then wander round the fairly small site (probably a couple of miles end to end). The restaurant onsite is expensive, but very very tasty, and the staff are all really friendly and speak good English. There are boats every hour or so throughout the day, until 5.30, so you can stay for as little or as long as you like.
Shaun M — Google review
Beautiful gardens, well laid out with educational and interesting information about the various plants in the garden. Enjoyed the 15 minute boat trip on route to the gardens too. Had lunch at the café which was delicious (the rice salad was our favourite dish).
Ailsa C — Google review
Luang Prabang’s Hidden Gem This was my second trip to Luang Prabang, having visited six years earlier, and I had heard from a friend that since my first visit, a wonderful botanic garden with a focus on Laos’ Ethno Botany had opened up, just a short boat ride across the Mekong. If you haven’t been, this is an absolute MUST addition to anyone’s itinerary for Luang Prabang. Be prepared for one of Laos’s best kept secrets... start with a magical ride across the Mekong whereupon you disembark on a quiet riverbank where a series of steps leads you upward into an extremely mature and well established ‘secret garden’. Once a hunting playground to Lao royalty and believed to have been the location of a mythical garden of ancient lore, Pha Tad Ke does not disappoint. Stroll around the garden at your own leisure or take one of the guided tours. Here’s an insider tip, the garden has one of the most talented Chefs and the cafe produces world-class farm to table dishes that highlight Laos’ culinary strengths using ingredients straight from the garden. There are workshops to be had, bamboo avenues, a butterfly garden and for those more adventurous, even hiking trails to ancient caves, you can easily do multiple visits and fill your time with different activities. The garden has it’s own boat (return trip included in the price of admission), and a ticket and information Center on the riverbank right in Luang Prabang. And if you really want a special experience, ask for the Director’s tour with Ernst, who’s passion and knowledge will ensure a truly memorable experience. Pa Thad Ke isn’t merely a garden, it’s a testament to Laos’s cultural heritage, a renewed commitment to community driven eco-tourism and is the only one of it’s kind in the entire country. Just an significant as any of the temples you might otherwise visit. If you’re looking to truly ‘discover’ something new and slightly off the radar, this is it. It is well worth your time.

Excellent! They do a grata job of bringing you in and showing you a great time! They’re trying to help elephants in wild and preserve them while enjoying some tourists attractions. Our elephant really cared for us as riders. Was one of the most wholesome feelings of all time!
Austin T — Google review
We stopped here for lunch as part of a tour. There was a small buffet selection for the food and it was of very high quality and something for everyone. There was also the chance to feed and have your photos taken with the elephants. Although trip advisor says this place does not meet animal welfare requirements it does seem like they treat the elephants well they’re free to roam and fed well. It also looks like you can stay here which would be very cool.
Olly S — Google review
I had a nice experience at the elephant camp, but I need to reconsider the relationship between animal welfare and local development. To be honest, elephant riding isn’t a comfortable experience for either humans or elephants. Their hair is very hard and rubs against your skin, and it’s difficult to keep your balance while sitting on their necks. Despite these issues, the elephants are cute and tame, and the staff provided excellent service. The buffet lunch is not bad and serves unlimited coffee, tea, soft drinks and Lao beers. I don’t want to criticise the elephant camp, as the residents need to make a living from it. However, perhaps feeding or observation could be more ethical alternatives. One more thing: it will be more cost-effective to make an offline reservation at the store in downtown Luang Prabang. We booked the one-day tour, which includes the elephant camp, cave tour, and sunset cruise. The price for using a credit card on the official website is 42 euros, while the price for using cash offline is 45 dollars (or 900,000 kip).

Visited as part of a tour, otherwise wouldn't have visited. We didn't touch ride, feed or bath the elephants, so I can't comment on wether that is or isn't permitted. Nice setting on the banks of the Meekong. Shop, bar & restaurant there and apparently guest rooms, although the pool and jacuzzi part of the resort was empty of water.

Loved it! Beautiful site. We chose not to wash or ride the elephants, but to simply go for a walk in the jungle with an elephant and the mahouts. This was perfect for us. Their lunch buffet is very good with vegetarian options.

Manifa Elephant Camp was the main reason I came to Luang Prabang and was not disappointed. What an absolutely amazing place! ELEPHANTS - you get a chance to feed, wash and ride an elephant, or simply walk along one on the river bank if you choose to. There are several females in the herd and one big male, so there was no waiting for your turn or anything. Definitely recommend at least one full day with elephants! ACCOMMODATION - very clean and comfortable lodge! I was actually surprised with how good it was compared to some other lodges I've been to. AC and fan in every room, good bathroom, nothing to complain about for such price. Meals were also excellent - lunch buffet had a wide selection of tasty foods and for breakfast/dinner I got to order from the menu. Unlimited drinks, including beer, were included in the price. OTHER ACTIVITIES - I was told I could choose between Pak Ou Caves and Kuang Si Waterfalls but since I was the only guest staying overnight I got to do both. Kayaking was so much fun and the guide took care we did not drift away or get too tired. Waterfalls are simply amazing and it saved me some time to get there with Manifa trip than on my own! STAFF - most kind and helpful people! From drivers and pilots, mahouts, guides and waiting staff - all were amazing! As I said previously, I was the only one staying for the night and everybody made sure I was comfortable and had a great time. Really, really recommend staying for the night. The place is absolutely gorgeous and it is worth it even to sit outside in the evening and watch the sunset. Hope I will go back one day!

Full Day Elephant Experience – 5/5 for the Beasts, 4/5 for the Humans They kick things off by handing you special elephant-riding clothes. Translation: only your underwear ends up soggy when you and your new four-ton UberXL stroll into the Mekong. Romantic in theory, damp in practice. The elephants? Pure perfection. Calm, gentle, no chains, no ropes, no fences. They roam like they own the jungle, which they pretty much do. Riding them bareback felt respectful, not exploitative, and the head mahout sealed the deal—this guy is as genuine as they come. Elephants are his whole life, and you can feel it when he talks. For the animals alone, it’s a straight 5/5. Lunch was a buffet that actually delivered. Proper variety for both vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores, with bottomless drinks (beer included, because the universe is occasionally kind). Combine that with the chat with the mahout about elephants in Laos, and you’ve got a highlight of the day. Then came round two of riding. Same as the first, despite the website hyping a jungle ride. Instead, it was Mekong splash part two, starring my last pair of underwear. Spoiler: damp dumpling mode unlocked. And the organization… let’s just say it had creative flair. Website promised: “Day with elephants + sunset cruise.” Lunch briefing promised: “Whisky village + cruise.” Actual reality? Boat trip to a cave first, then whisky village. Not bad stops, just communicated with the accuracy of a broken compass. Final verdict: 5/5 for the elephants, 4/5 overall. Animals incredible, buffet and beer strong, mahout inspiring. The only weak link? Humans pretending they know how to plan.

Nahm Dong Park is a stunning mountainous area just outside the town center, offering a variety of activities for families. Visitors can enjoy bamboo weaving, dream catcher making, zip lining, and tree top walking. The park provides transportation to and from hotels and is known for its friendly staff. It's perfect for both quiet afternoons and group outings. The 300m zipline offers an exhilarating experience with breathtaking views. Additionally, traditional artistic activities are available at the park.
A must see park if you love nature. Nice hikes, flower gardens, caves and waterfalls. (Not very big during dry season) great zip line. Perfect for families. Park is layed out very well. A nice chill day in nature,

100% check this place out! What an amazing find. We came across it via Google reviews and it was the highlight of our stay in Luang Prabang. We got a driver who drove us up to the park. The roads are brutal and good luck in a tuk tuk or on a scooter. But its worth it. We were the only ones there and we did the Ziplines and High ropes. It was such a great morning spent. The instructors were great although they didn't say much, and they took incredible videos for us. We were the only people there. Check this place out if you get the time!
Antzarmy — Google review
Really enjoyed the tree top walk and zip lines (30 USD). You can swim in the waterfall pool, chill out under trees, hang with some tortoises. Only other people there were a few local kids. Rode scooters there, would not recommend doing that in heavy rain or dark was though as the road is a bit rugged.

We had absolutely amazing time in Nahm Dong Park. Went as family with two teens. The park is really beautiful and well cared for and offers amazing views. Kids loved the zip line and the tree top walk. Not for faint hearted but the safety is great, the equipment is well maintained and instructors took a good care of us. We also learned basket weaving and kids made their own dream catchers. The swim at the waterfloor amazing too. We wish we had planned visit for a full day as we can easily imagine spending more time swimming, exploring the park, sitting with a drink at the waterfall and enjoying the amazing views for longer. Also they offer morning cooking class which could be a fantastic experience. For a transport what's up them as with reserved activities they offered us transport to and back from the park.

Wow! What a surprise. Stunning scenery and environment. Did the tree top adventure walk, followed by zip line and then relaxing in the waterfall pools. Safety was a high priority and felt very much at ease. Walk back from zip line was beautiful in itself. Nice, quiet and relaxing experience. Guide took photos and videos of ziplining.

We came and did the zipline in Nahm Dong Park. The staff gave us some little homemade teas. There was no one and there are a lot of activities to do ! My husband and I did the zipline and were alone with two instructors that basically did everything for us. The views were amazing and is according to us 100% worth the price (20$ for 6 ziplines in the mountains). There are also other activities. There are cascades were you can bathe for free, the place is really well kept and so beautiful ! 🫶🏻

Wow! Absolutely incredible experience here! Definitely buy the package online as someone will pick up up from your hotel/hostel which is included in your ticket! I payed 660,000 lao kip for the treetop walk, ziplines and pickup/drop off! Thanks keo for being so friendly and informative also! If you want to avoid all the tourists at other waterfall spots definitely come here!!

Riverview Park in Luang Prabang may not be expansive, but it offers pleasant shade and a beautiful vantage point. The park provides a serene atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for quiet contemplation while enjoying picturesque views of the bamboo bridge and Mekong River.
Nice little park to cool down after the walk. Clean with a rubbish bin around. Watch the sunset here or just the boats passing back and forth. Nice view and calm area.

Walking and touring a new city is one of my favourite pass times in the world. Self exploration leads to so many cool possibilities otherwise not possible without the sense of imagination and wonder. Just so happens we had nothing scheduled on this afternoon and decided to tour the perimeter of our location. We stumbled upon an awesome temple and then found ourselves in river view park. The park itself is perched high on the bank allowing for a beautiful view of the Mekong. Everything was well maintained, cleaned and laid with brick pathways. It’s the perfect spot to find a corner and read a book, people watch or just soak up nature itself as intended. This day proved a little more special as we were approached by a young Laotian student who asked us for a bit of our time to start a conversation so he could practice his English! We were thrilled to partake and help out, it really was the highlight of the day.

Two colours viewpoint: At the tip of this small headland there’s a small park/lookout where you can observe the mixing of the two different coloured bodies of water. In the rainy season, the green of the Nam Khan merges with the muddy brown of the Mekong. Safe travels, Mega.

Nice place to relax and unwind after walking the peninsular, just sit back and soak in the views. However, be prepared with your insect repellent else you'll be plagued if you want to spend any extended amount of time sitting in the shade.
