Nature & Parks
Heaton Park is a sprawling urban park located just beyond the city limits of Manchester. Covering over 600 acres, it offers a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages. The park features an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, a boating lake, an animal petting farm, woodlands, ornamental gardens, and an observatory. Families can enjoy the adventure playground and treetop adventure while kids can have fun with the farm animals and play areas.
Plenty of parking at a reasonable cost. Great fun for adults, teenagers, children and toddlers! Scenic views, a small farm with helpful animals handlers who are happy to answer questions, well-kept grounds, boat rides, decent-sized play areas for children of all ages, a cafe, a resident ice cream van and charcoal pizza options. A good place to enjoy the great outdoors - especially on a sunny day!

Heaton Park is one of my absolute favourite places, and we’re lucky to live so close by. It’s somewhere we visit regularly—whether we’re out walking the dog or just enjoying a peaceful evening summer stroll. The park is absolutely beautiful, with wide open green spaces, woodland walks, and scenic views. The boating lake adds a lovely, peaceful touch, and there are two great cafés—one by the stables and another overlooking the lake—perfect for a warm drink or a treat. We always stop by the little animal area to see the goats, ducks, and our favourites—the gorgeous Highland cows. There’s also a brilliant bee house, which is such a nice surprise to find on a quiet walk. The park has two fantastic play areas too, great for families with children of all ages. You can really feel the history here—it’s like it’s locked into the soil and buildings around you. Heaton Park offers something for everyone: nature, history, animals, play, peace, and fresh air. It’s a true gem right on our doorstep, and I feel lucky to have it so close.

Love this place. Good for walks and bike rides. Lovely scenery. The fun fair was on when we went. There's a boat lake too and animals. From place to place there are ice cream vans. Will definitely be back here

Great park plenty of playground areas for the kids, lots of open space to wonder around, has a small farm, shops, cafe etc... Lake has rentable boats, we took out a peddle Swan with the kids which they loved. Good for a family day out or larger gathering

Great country park with plenty of parking. Two good cafes, boating lake, in the summer, small children’s animal farmyard and adventure playground with a large herd of highland cattle out on the pastures. Woodland walks and much more
John L — Google review
Amazing great big open space, well priced cafe with good offering - especially the kids meals, animal centre is a lovely touch and free to access. Accessible toilets which were clean and easy to access from the cafe.
Tasha J — Google review
Lovely clean park with plenty of beches to rest on and a great playground for the children. Farm animal area to visit plus boating lake and cafes. Met a friendly squirrel too! Places to walk and some joggers too. Worth a visit.
Gayle W — Google review
This is a wonderful park where there's something for all ages and you can spend many hours enjoying all there is to offer. Unfortunately so much of it is closed to the public. Heaton Hall and the Orangery are impressive but closed. There's also the restored tramway and old shelter, now a museum, also closed with no trams running. Even the colonnade of the former Manchester Town Hall is fenced off. There is though a lovely children's animal farm and a playground as well as a cafe in the old stableblock. Several Pals battalions gathered here in WWI and aircrew in WWII. The Somme monument is poignant. There's the historical Dower House, Grand Lodge and Temple to see and the lovely boating lake and Highland cattle in the park. It's good to see that it's also used for various events; food and drink, fairs, concerts etc.

Lovely walk, plenty to see and do. Good walk around the lake with plenty of wildlife. Plenty of seats and loads of field areas to sit and play games. Parks - there's a couple of them, for younger children and older kids. Cafe also here ☺️

I recently visited Alexandra Park in Manchester, near Rusholme, and it’s an absolute treasure for nature lovers and families alike. This beautifully maintained park is a serene oasis, bursting with charm and natural splendour. As I strolled through, the air was alive with the cheerful chirping of birds, creating a soothing backdrop that instantly calms the soul. The park’s tranquil lake is a standout feature, with ducks and waterfowl gliding gracefully across the water, adding a delightful touch of wildlife to the scene. Locals walking their dogs, some playfully darting about, contribute to the warm, community atmosphere. The park is impeccably organised, with neat pathways winding through vibrant greenery, perfect for leisurely walks or more active pursuits. A charming cafeteria tucked within the park offers a cosy spot for a coffee or snack, with friendly staff and a spotless setup that enhances the experience. Convenient parking just outside ensures easy access. Alexandra Park is a haven for families—children were joyfully cycling, running, and engaging in light sports, with ample space for play. The park’s clean, well-kept environment and abundant natural beauty make it a true gem in Manchester. Whether you’re after a peaceful retreat or a fun-filled family day out, this enchanting, nature-rich park is a must-visit destination that leaves you refreshed and inspired.

Children's amusement center

This children's amusement center offers hours of fun for children under the age of 10, with an enclosed play area for three and under. The play area offers a variety of slides, crawls and playsets, as well as space sensory rooms and a castle area. The amusement center is popular with parents from London, who have praised the wide range of facilities and friendly staff.
Beautiful little place, stopped by during a visit to Manchester to keep the 5 year old entertained. It was a Sunday 12pm, was not busy, great vibe inside, the little one loved it. It's a little smaller compared to some of those industrial ones you come come cross. All the soft play areas were top notch clean, and even the bathrooms(trust me on this)It was very clean. The cafe upstairs was nice, cozy and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Shabeer S — Google review
Great place this, lots going on for a good age range. From tiny babies, toddlers right through to bigger kids (under 155cm). The toddler room was a good size with lots of soft play to be had. The staff were nice and helpful. The food was really nice and quite well priced. My only reservation is parking really, there's minimal parking on site and we ended up walking five minutes from the middle of Chorlton which was fine as the weather wasn't too bad.

What a play centre one of the best I’ve ever been to as a mum to a little boy play centres have become a regular thing. This is unbelievable well worth the trip. We went school time so was not very busy and we had all day there. There was no time limit which was great. All the staff were so helpful and accommodating. We went upstairs and had some lunch which was really nice and cooked fresh. 100% recommend great for younger kids and older kids can’t wait to come back.

We’ve been coming to Head Over Heels Manchester for years and have celebrated six of our children’s birthdays here — it’s always a fantastic and reliable experience. Today was no exception. We had lunch and really enjoyed it, along with a lovely coffee. The venue is clean, well-organised, and always welcoming. A special thank you to Natural Niamh (or Niamg), Alyssa, and Hannah, who were absolutely brilliant with the children. Their warm and attentive approach created a calm, safe, and enjoyable environment for both kids and parents. There are plenty of staff present in the play area, making sure everything runs smoothly and safely, which really stands out compared to other places. Another great bonus is the free on-site parking, which makes visits even more convenie This is one of the few play centres where we always feel comfortable, and the kids love it every time. We’ll definitely be back again soon! Thanks Thea

we recently came here for our daughter’s second birthday party. We hired out the cloud room and it was an excellent day. The price was a little more than other soft plays we researched, but we truly believe we got excellent value for money. All the children were constantly entertained by two ‘princesses’ Kacey and Brooke. The food provided was lovely and entertainment (dance party) was great not to mention the soft play itself is incredible and all of the kids ranging from age 2 to 12 were in their element. They also took care of cutting up our cake and adding it to their party bags. We didn’t really need to lift a finger and so could just focus on our daughter and having a nice time - They even helped us with blowing up the balloons and hanging decorations before everyone arrived. Highly recommend.

We had a great time for my daughter’s 4th birthday party! The hosts, Caitlin & Brooke went above and beyond for us and made sure we all had a good time! They were very attentive and made sure my daughter felt special on her big day. They not only looked after the children, they made sure adults were ok with drinks etc. Thank you so much girls xx

Absolutely fantastic place. We have been bringing our 18 month old here since he was about 3 months old and each experience has been perfect. The baby section is brilliant and we used to drive 45 minutes each way every time we came here just for that. The cafe and the food is lovely. Today, we were served by Millie who was great. The coffee was excellent and the food is delicious. Would recommend to anyone thinking of coming here.

Posting this review as I am a number one fan of Head Over Heels in Wilmslow, however due to it being booked up today we decided to give this one a try. If you’re going to visit Head Over Heels I strongly recommend going to the one in Wilmslow, especially if you have babies/toddlers. It is SUCH a different experience. Wilmslow has sooo much more space, so much more sensory and roleplay for little ones, and has way more safety measures in place. My 19 month old was absolutely swarmed by much older kids running riot. There is only a small-ish section for babies/toddlers and not much roleplay at all (tiny roleplay area in upstairs cafe. The 0-3 soft play frame also has many levels and requires a lot of climbing which isn’t suitable for babies and younger toddlers. The cafe was quite chaotic, very busy with not much space. You pay the same price no matter which one you visit. I personally wouldn’t visit the Chorlton one again. I didn’t have a good experience for the money we spent and we did consider leaving less than 15 minutes into our visit as we felt like it didn’t cater for 0-3 and was unsafe. Wilmslow on the other hand is the best children’s play centre around hands down and my google review for that one reflects that. Just being honest and want others to be aware of the difference in experiences between the two.

Haigh Woodland Park is a vast recreational area offering wooded hiking trails, a rope course, miniature railway, and golfing. It's an ideal stop for families visiting Wigan or exploring nearby attractions like the Three Sisters Racing Circuit and the Old Courts. After a refreshing walk in Haigh Woodland Park, visitors can enjoy traditional Sunday roasts at nearby pubs and restaurants.
Great park, lots of paths to walk with varied scenery leads to canal which you can walk and loop back round to the main park. Saw horse riders, cyclists, runners. The free park itself is well built with lots of challenges for the kids. Behind it was a small forest where the kids where making lean to shelters with the downed trees and branches. There is a paid high rope section however it's 8+ Also on site whilst visiting was a small amusement park. There is a square of various shops from chocolate to a pizzeria, deli, cafe and farm shop. The delivery we found to be great value and not too expensive. There are also ice cream vans dotted around if you are after a sweet treat. Parking is paid but reasonable at 3.50 for the day. Altogether it was a nice day out and would return.
Y G — Google review
Was disappointed to find the miniature train was all blocked off for maintenance, had all year but choose the first week of the summer holidays to do it, so, thought we'd go and look at the hall...nope, not possible as that was enveloped in a huge white screen, ok, so we went to the cafe and was charged £10 for a baked potato!! Parking is not free and you are not allowed to use a blue badge... had a little play area for kids and mini golf and Go Ape, " ornamental " pond was more like black slime and full of lily pads, totally neglected, lots of space for kids but lots of dogs off lead, so be careful, take a picnic too to save yourself some money
Donna P — Google review
I've been coming to this park for several years now and honestly, I feel like it is going a bit downhill. We arrived today and the two main play frames were sectioned off for repair. The funfair had stopped even though all the kids aren't back in school until at least Thursday. The go ape climbing was shut. The little train track is NEVER running when we go. It looks like it's undergoing maintenance but never seen anyone working on it. The duck pond has blue algae in it and doesn't seem like it is being treated. The main gardens with the lovely trees have been shut now for about 2 years. No idea why! The toilets are really smelly and the soap box hasn't been fixed in at least 12 months and you could really do with putting some toilets down near the smaller wooden park as I've been caught out twice there now with my toddler who needed a number 2! Luckily had bags on me for her to do it in! On a positive note, the cafes / shops are great. There's some woodland you can walk through which is good to explore. There's a range of play equipment suitable for all ages and 2 places you can play mini golf. Plenty of sit down spaces and picnic tables. Parking is cheap and you can spend hours there on a good day. The new flower garden is really lovely. There's a great little bird watching area and the shop on the way in is selling wild bird food for you to put on the tables. Wigan council need to do a lot better! This is a well used park and would be so much better with access to all areas!

We had a lovely day here. The park caters for all ages. There are 2 crazy golf's, my nearly 4 yr old grandson loved his first time playing this. The staff in the crazy golf were really friendly guy's and at only £1 per person, it's well worth visiting. We went to the cafe for lunch and the staff there are also very helpful and friendly. Only 2 highchairs available that we could see but we managed to beg one off a lady who's child had finished eating and also passed ours on after we finished with it. We also visited the small funfair. Tokens only and each token cost £2.50. Only thing I don't agree with is that the parent on the rides with small children have to pay a token too. We will definitely be going back there.

Great place for a walk, plenty to do come along and try out the Low and High Ropes course. A few places to get food and drinks.. a couple of ice cream vans and a shop. Kids park and fairground rides at weekends and school holidays. Parkrun every Saturday good route on trails which can be muddy at times it’s down hill a loop then back up the hill.
Stan B — Google review
My two children, 11 and 8, and I, had a brilliant time here yesterday. It was a little disappointing to find there's quite extensive renovation works going on at both the hall and along the miniature railway, and this is the reason for the 4☆ review - not that we minded the work at all, it's clear this is in the best interest of the hall and the miniature railway, but that there's no mention on the website or Facebook page (which I checked prior to our visit) and also that we didn't know the path passing the swan pond to complete the 1 mile circuit was closed as there was no signage until we got there. It didn't make our day any less enjoyable, as we followed the path around past the victorian kennels ruins (a huge hit), then followed the canal back to the car park, but those paths weren't suitable for pushchairs or scooters so families with younger children would've had to turn back. Our 1 mile walk turned in to a lovely 3 mile trail, which we finished off with a picnic, a few fairground rides (all very quiet, I expect due to the rides costing £2.50 each), and an ice cream from the van (£10 for 3). We did head over to the playground, but we found the equipment a bit too busy for us so we went back to find their favourite tree and had a bit of a climb before we left. £3.50 for the car park all day is a bargain when compared to other similar locations, particularly as there is so much going on here for children. We spent 4.5 hours here in total, but could easily have stayed all day, and we look forward to returning when the miniature railway re-opens as the kids would've loved this. It would just be nice to know before you travel what closures are in place, so you can plan your day accordingly.

Haigh Hall and the surrounding plantations, AKA Haigh Woodland Park are a great place for a bit of R&R. The main path through the plantations is wide and and is surfaced with tarmac making it accessible for all. It's both dog and cycle friendly with several entrances that include access from Swinley, Whelley and Haigh. As of March 2025 the main hall, a listed stately home, is currently undergoing restoration however there are many other facilities in the immediate vicinity. These include a sprawling playground for the kids, high rope adventure, mini golf, a great little bar and numerous cafes and shops. There is also a large carpark close to the facilities for those who wish to arrive by car.
Dale T — Google review
Great place to take your family. CONS 1. The car park is pricey 2. The drinks at the outlet we stopped at were very pricey (£6 for a hot chocolate) PROS 1. Attractive extensive walks 2. Lots for children 3. Well laid out My advice ...bring a picnic.

Moses Gate Country Park, located in Farnworth, Bolton, is a sprawling 300-hectare nature reserve offering a variety of outdoor activities. It features lakes, woodlands, and heritage sites with abundant wildlife to explore. The park is ideal for family outings and leisurely walks suitable for all ages. Children can enjoy playgrounds and spotting wildlife while adults can take in the tranquil lakeside scenery.
Very Nice Place to relax. Kids, Young People and Adults also can visit here. There is playground here where kids can experience the outbound training activities. There is duck tank and kids enjoying to feed them. Walking path available along the duck tank and inside the park. Enough grass land inside the park. A lot of parking space available. Entrance is free. Ice cream van usually parked inside the park and the cost is bit high which is around 5GBP. Overall recommended place.

Moss Gate Park is one of my favourite green escapes in the area. It’s a beautiful, clean, and safe park with a very relaxing vibe. I often bring my dogs here for walks — it’s a great spot for both energetic pups and calm strolls. The open green space is well-maintained, and I always feel comfortable walking alone or with my pets. One of the things I love most is the occasional festivals or community events that take place here. Whether it’s a small local gathering or a family-friendly celebration, it gives the park such a welcoming energy. There’s even a designated barbecue area which makes it perfect for a chilled weekend with friends or family. It’s rare to find parks in the area that feel this open yet still feel safe and tidy. All in all, Moss Gate Park is a little gem — peaceful, vibrant, and ideal for dog lovers, families, and anyone who wants a nature break without leaving town. 🌳🐾🔥

If you love your wildlife, walks, canal paths, woodland,ice-cream or wish for your little'uns to burn off some energy at the park. Here is just the place. As a Lowtoner, I had never been till mine and fiancé's first date. And we've been going since. It's serene, and quiet, yet vibrant and loud depending on what time you go or what spot you choose to visit at Moses Gate Country Park. They have a historical hall named "Rock Hall" that is perched facing the river croal by the weir. It is to be done up and resurrected to be brought back to the community. The weir itself fascinates me as it attracts different types of wildlife with every visit. In my 24 years of life I'd never seen; a kingfisher; a dipper; a greater crested grebe; a comorant amongst other species. The place never let's you down and is always worth a visit.

Great park, nice and clean. Plenty of places to park, sit and walk. Shame about the amount of people who were having BBQs. Dread to think of the mess they leave.

I didn't explore it fully but what I did see the country park is nice. I went on a day after heave rain during the night so was quite muddy. Parking is OK within the park and there is parking available on roads outside of the park. Three small lakes and a river that runs through. Ice cream van on site, not the cheapest but definetly not the dearest. He takes cards and cash. I can imagine that the park gets VERY busy in the summer.

Water Parks
Chorlton Water Park, located south of Manchester, is a reclaimed farmland featuring woods, a gravel pit for fishing, a pond-dipping platform, and a play area. The park offers a lovely trail along Sale Water Park and the River Mersey. Families can enjoy the built-in play area and ice cream trucks while exploring the grassy fields, woodland, and local nature around the central lake. Additionally, it's an ideal spot for cycling enthusiasts seeking some exercise.
Absolute fantastic 👍 experience here today. Lovely walks, beautiful scenery. There are two playgrounds for kids, one is a bit further down up hill. Absolutely great for dog walking and a must for relaxation. The only downfall+ cafe was shut. Play park is not big, but excellent for over 6+ ages.

Lovely place for a walk if the weather is good, and you can get on to the Mersey and join the Transpennine Trail if you want to extend your stroll. There's a good children's playground and it's pretty flat to go around the lake (suitable for buggies or a robust mobility scooter). There's a car park with toilets (they are not great though) and there's often an ice cream van there too.
Tim J — Google review
Lovely park nice and quite not alot of people around so you can enjoy this tranquil space the lake is really big with ducks and swans to feed. Nice little park for the kids to play in and it's also nice and clean too. Lots of paths and clear signage so you know where you are walking to we spent a total of 2 hour here it was lovely 😍 👌

We went on an Autumn day and spent a couple of hours here walking around and then playing in the park. There is carparking on site and cafe. For the toilets take your own soap and toilet paper, there wasn't any . We always bring some with us.

A Hidden Gem in Manchester! I recently visited Chorlton Water Park, and I have to say, it was a delightful surprise! Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this place offers a perfect escape into nature. The lake is serene, surrounded by lush greenery and filled with wildlife. It’s a fantastic spot for a leisurely walk, and the trails are well-maintained and accessible. I loved seeing families, dog walkers, and joggers all enjoying the fresh air. There are plenty of spots to sit and take in the view, and the playground was a hit with the kids. If you’re into bird watching, bring your binoculars—there’s so much to see! Parking was straightforward, and it’s great that it’s free. My only tip would be to bring some snacks and drinks, as facilities are a bit limited, but that’s a small price to pay for such a natural oasis. Whether you’re looking to relax, get some exercise, or simply enjoy the outdoors, Chorlton Water Park is well worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back!"

Lovely lake to take the dog on a walk around, gets busy on a weekend after around 11am with lots of people have a jog or walking the dogs as well. There’s a little playpark for kids not far inside the entrance, along with the Tibetan cafe for food and coffee. There’s a car pack with toilets, 4* for the review is because the toilets aren’t particularly nice, but overall a lovely place to have a walk!

A beautiful park with lots of easy walks around a gorgeous lake ,there is a large car park and nice clean toilets. A great little cafe and an ice cream van in the summer. A great place to visit all year round.

Beautiful walk Moss Bank Park is such a lovely spot! The scenery is beautiful, and it’s perfect for a relaxing day out. I really enjoyed walking around and taking in the fresh air. Next time, I’d definitely bring a bike to explore even more of the park! It seems like a great place to ride around and enjoy the surroundings.

Lovely local park – a family favourite We come here regularly as a family and absolutely love it. There's plenty of space for walks, and the playground is well-maintained with equipment suitable for kids of all ages. The on-site café is great for grabbing a brew and a snack. One of the highlights is the miniature railway—just a couple of quid for a ride, and it's run by a passionate local group. There's also a fun children's trail organised by the Woodland Trust (small extra cost), which adds something a bit different. Lots of parking available and a couple of lovely garden areas to explore. The rock garden is our favourite, though it's a bit tucked away—definitely worth finding!

A lovely park within a stones throw of where we live. There is always ample amounts of parking facilities which always helps. There is a beautiful walled garden which my son and I spent a good twenty minutes walking around. Then there is a lovely cafe offering drinks and snacks. Finally there is a huge childrens park as well. It is lovely and clean. In summer there is a train ride that you can also do. Great entertainment for free if you don’t want to spend

Plenty of free parking. Lovely walks through the woods. Great play areas for children of all ages. Clean and lovely cafe. Sit inside or out.

Great park for little children upto 10 years and also a pay for use mini fun fair setup with rides, bouncy castle and fun rides for little kids. On weekends there is also a model train that you can pay to ride on and it goes around a good size track - lots of parents sit with their children on this volunteer managed scale train set. It’s a good park to get your steps in and walk dogs, play football, play cricket, frisbee and people also do barbecues. The little play area also has a sand pit with boat, jumping board and sand play tower. Swings cater for babies and upto adults… Picnic benches available and plenty of open grass areas for day camping and picnicking.

Mayfield Park, situated near Manchester Piccadilly railway station, is a newly opened 6.5-acre green space that has quickly become a popular attraction in the city center. The park features an expansive kids' play area with various slides, swings, rope bridges, crawl tunnels, and wheelchair accessible equipment. Adjacent to the park is Escape to Freight Island, a large food hall housed in a disused railway depot.
Awesome park, never seen a park like this ever in my life. The whole area is really nice and good for a walk around. There's snacks and ice creams and coffees or tea available from the different shacks or ice cream van. Climbing frame is huge and really good for keeping the kids fit climbing to the top. Nice river runs through although it's not advised to go for a paddle you can sit and have a picnic next to it

Fabulous new park in Manchester. Lovely planting and landscaping. Lots of nods to the architectural heritage of the area. Full of families relaxing on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Coffee, ice cream & toilets at one end. And the playground looks terrific. Definitely worth seeking out...
James R — Google review
Great park for your adventurous children or children who can climb independently. It is hard to fit in the climbing frames with your children but not impossible. There is a bit of a walk around the park that is accessible by everyone and is pushchair/wheel chair friendly.

Mayfield Park is a unique little gem in Manchester!! It’s not very big, but it offers lovely seating areas and is great for a relaxing walk. Especially beautiful around sunset when the lighting in the park comes on and adds a cozy vibe. There are quite a lot of security cameras around, which might bother some. Other than that it’s Manchester’s most beautiful park!!!

Mayfield Park is a lovely spot — the playing area is clean, well-equipped, and perfect for kids, while the surrounding lawns and trees offer a peaceful, lush green view. Plenty of benches, shade, and open space for games or picnics. Great for families and a relaxing afternoon outdoors.

An incredible place to walk with children and just have a good time. My children are happy with this fabulous playground. Many bridges with an interesting landscape, special attention would be paid to the plants, they harmoniously fit into the environment in which it is pleasant to spend time. There are toilets near the site and there is also a kiosk with delicious ice cream nearby.

Very big and lovely family friendly park with special kids playing areas, tennis, football and many more. Nice and clean car park with no parking fee. Big garden area and Caffe too! Really nice to visit any time of the year - I really enjoy it every time I went there!

Visited for a concert (twice, on separate years) and this review is based upon just that experience. The signposting isn't brilliant - especially upon exit (after the concerts) - with poor lane availablity - there were lots of bottlenecks for people trying to get out on the southern side of the park. Other than that, it is a good venue, with a nice wide area for the stage. The layout has changed each year, and it is definitely improving, but I feel that the crowd management needs more work.
Jon W — Google review
The sound system was absolutely amazing and really enhanced the whole experience. The lighting perfectly complemented the music and created an incredible atmosphere. It was super easy to get around and find everything, which made it really enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout the night. Overall, it was a great night out and a perfect venue for live music!

So the park overall plenty to see and do. There is a Car park close by with disability spaces available .The farm area was filled with animals needs a bit of care towards areas like walk areas aren’t made muddy especially on a very hot day, animals need accessible water on such hot days which I did not see around. There is no wash basin after petting the animals so people tend to go to the toilets which one is open and a lot of waiting and because people needed to clean hands there was tissue all over the floor and was dirty. Needs a bit of cleaning tbh and the animals seemed very hot and dehydrated especially when the wether was 30 degrees. The animals were Trembling and I’m not sure if it was because of the weather. The cafe situated on the left of the park serves lovely food with home made pizzas which were delicious, plenty of drinks and also plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. There is also bathroom facility near. Overall perhaps on a cooler day I would have loved to walked a little more of the park.

The Etihad Stadium is a massive and contemporary sports venue that hosts football matches and offers behind-the-scenes stadium tours. In Manchester, football is a big part of the culture, so visiting either Manchester City's or Manchester United's stadium is a must-do experience. These impressive stadiums are marvels of engineering and offer an exciting glimpse into the world of famous football grounds. Visitors can book official tours to explore the Etihad Stadium and Old Trafford, home to both teams.
Definitely not a city fan but the tour is top class and well worth the money. There are tour guides at different points along the route who are very friendly and passionate about the club and you get great information from them. Highly recommended even if you are not a fan.

The stadium is very beautiful. Definitely worth a visit. You should buy tickets in advance and arrive about 10-15 minutes before the event. The films shown are not allowed to be uploaded to social media.Google Maps is ok but not too much because otherwise they wouldn't make any money.

Breath taking Went to the stadium tour The Etihad Stadium Tour is widely regarded as one of the best in the UK, and even the world. It's a key attraction for both Manchester City fans and general football enthusiasts. Immersive Experience: The tour uses modern technology to create an engaging experience. Visitors can have a "virtual interaction" with manager Pep Guardiola in the press room, see an audio-visual show in the home team changing room, and feel what it's like to walk down the players' glass tunnel with the crowd noise playing. Behind-the-Scenes Access: The tour provides exclusive access to areas not normally seen by the public, including the players' dressing room, dugouts, and the multi-award-winning hospitality suite, "The Tunnel Club." Guides: Tour guides are extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly. What a fantastic job they do. Overall Verdict The Etihad Stadium is a top-tier sporting venue. While it may not have the decades of history of some other stadiums, its modern design, excellent facilities, and commitment to a positive visitor experience make it a great place to watch a match. The stadium tour is a particularly strong point, offering an immersive and highly-rated behind-the-scenes look that even fans of rival clubs have enjoyed.
John ( — Google review
A very interesting commentary from the gentleman who humorously guided us around the stadium. City are still building their fan base, so access to the tour is easy and there are few interested visitors. However, the tour left an excellent impression.
Radovan K — Google review
First experience of visiting the Stadium, very well organised coming off the tram and plenty of guides ready to direct you to your turnstile. Once inside the ground plenty of toilets and food & drinks outlets. Great view of the pitch and good seats and spacing between each row. Pity England Ladies could not win the game. 👏👏 Etihad stadium
Peter W — Google review
This time, I had the chance to visit the lounge of 9320. It offered hamburgers, hot dogs, fried fish, french fries, and some pies. The most impressive thing was the Asahi beer! The seats in the venue were quite comfortable. Although I'm not a fan of the City team, this venue experience was quite good.
Fox S — Google review
Arrived via the Manchester Metrolink tram (Etihad Campus stop—short walk). Turned up in the morning and found it closed until 10:00, so note that tours/City Store generally open from 10. This isn’t a public jogging venue like Jakarta’s GBK—no track access outside events—but the complex is clean, modern, and easy to navigate with excellent tram links. For match days, expect efficient security, contactless payments across kiosks, and a lively atmosphere around the concourse. On non-match days, book a stadium tour if you want more than exterior photos. Tips: come after 10:00, check fixtures/tour slots in advance, travel light due to bag restrictions, and use the tram for hassle-free access. Overall, a very impressive stadium even if you only have time for a quick look.
Nanda — Google review
This was a great way to spend a few hours on the stadium tour. Funny and informative guides, really good atmosphere. Great to see where the players go about their match day rituals, through the tunnel club hospitality bar, into the gym and changing room, and right to pitch side. We even got the chance to sit in Peps chair pitch side and have photos with the man himself. Fantastic value for the price of the tickets, would highly recommend.

Barlow Croft, Greene King Pub & Carvery is a lively chain pub located in an entertainment complex that offers meal deals and live TV sports, making it a great spot for families and sports enthusiasts. The Wacky Warehouse indoor play area at Barlow Croft in Manchester is a colorful and exciting space for kids to explore with tunnels, slides, ball pits, and climbing frames.
Lovely early evening meal for my children (6 and 4) after playing in the Wacky Warehouse. The staff are very friendly and helpful, food was plentiful and we were seated right away. It's not fine dining, but that's not why we were there.
Sarah B — Google review
Had lunch here in the wacky warehouse children's section. I ordered via the app and the food only took about 10 minutes to arrive. The portions were generous and everything was tasty. However it was a little cold and I had to wait for the staff to get the rest of my order when they missed a few things serving. Overall I would recommend and return in the future
Lauren G — Google review
I recently visited and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. This was the worst carvery I've ever had, coupled with very poor customer service. While dining, I noticed staff members using their phones on the floor and drinking Five Guys milkshakes right in front of customers, which felt unprofessional. I ordered via the app for Table 16, requesting two carveries and a child’s meal. The stuffing was watery and had a texture similar to baby food, the roast potatoes were extremely hard, and the meats were excessively salty, leading to both meals being left uneaten. To make matters worse, there was no follow-up from the staff regarding our meals, as they seemed more focused on socializing among themselves. This included the manager, which was particularly concerning. I understand that it can be hot and busy, and staff may need refreshments, but customer satisfaction should always come first. Having worked in hospitality for seven years, managing pubs, cafes, and restaurants, I have rarely encountered service this poor. I sincerely hope that management takes note of these issues and works to improve the experience for future customers. I also highly recommend a visit from there BDM. I cannot recommend Barlow Croft based on this visit.

Phoned “Barlow Croft” today around 3pm & spoke with a young woman. I asked her what time do you close for the Carvery meals today & she said 6pm. She recommended to arrive at least by 5pm. I arrived 4:45pm & was told if I have booked! I said no, but when I phoned earlier, your colleague didn’t suggest booking! The lady at the carvery’s desk offered a table for 30 minutes only & then we must leave! We had no option but to decline & drove off to another Carvery “STONEHOUSE” on Councillor Lane, Cheadle. My wife & I very much have enjoyed our carvery at STONEHOUSE. May I warn all customers of this “Barlow Croft” extremely poor attitude & service!

Decided to try this place out after going on a morning walk with some friends and had been thinking of it for a while. Was pleasantly surprised how nice everyone was, very lively and the carvery looked delicious. Obviously we had a carvery because well it's Sunday after all, to say we were stuffed is an understatement. Would definitely love to come back when passing in the area and have a try of something else on the menu, especially the puddings that's for sure

Lancaster Park & Animal Farm is a family-friendly petting farm with farm animals to pet and feed. There are activities and games for kids to enjoy, as well as a nature walk.
Been recommended coming here for ages and finally made it, it's only £8.50 each adult or child, which is decent. On entrance only looks like a fairly small farm park but boy were we surprised. There are small petting animals like rabbits and guinea pigs, a huge walk around field to see more like goats, donkeys, horses and more. There's a kiddies play park on the other side and a refreshments hut serving tea/coffee and ice creams etc. A great day out for the family and well worth a visit.

If you’re looking for a fun day out with the family, this is definitely the place to bring the kids. You’ll get to see and even feed a variety of animals including sheep, rabbits, horses, alpacas, lambs, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, turtles, geese, and donkeys. Animal feed is available for just £2, which adds to the experience. There’s also a lovely scenic walk through the farm, making it a great way to spend a few relaxing hours outdoors. A perfect spot for a family outing

Had a fabulous day. Plenty of animals to see and feed. Lovely walk around the park. Staff were friendly and willing to explain about the animals, very helpful and well informed regarding the welfare of the animals. The play ground for the children was well equipped and plenty of picnic tables and chairs. There is a tea kiosk with a very friendly lady serving drinks and ice cream. Will definitely visit again.

Came with Family here. Was a wonderful day out with it raining on and off. Lots too see and walk. Plenty of animals to pet and a kids play area. Hoping to visit soon when the weather is better. Was a good day out little kid loved all the animals and we fed them with the food bought on entry at the kiosk. Small car park just enough space to park if you get here during quiet times.

Absolute 10/10! So much to do. Went pumpkin picking with my little boy and I came back with over 100 photos! So many props and photo opportunities. The effort and money put into it is notable. The farm is huge, so many animals, and two different play parks for kids with so much to do. Food and drink prices are unbelievable, never been to a farm so cheap before. The wizard school was a great touch, wish they let you take a wand or potion as a keepsake. There is no gift shop which was a disappointing part. Would 100% go back. Highly recommend. I am against putting little kids online, especially my own so unfortunately I can’t share the amazing photos of him that i managed to take. But if you’re thinking of going, you won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely brilliant family day out at the halloween event. All children and adults really enjoyed it. Especially good if you're into harry potter like our daughter is. She was told by professor Snape that she was the star student of the day which really made her happy.

Last time I came here was about 6 years ago and there wasn’t much to see or do. A LOT has changed!!! Really impressed with the effort that has gone into upgrading the farm!! Plenty of animals to meet, really lovely staff, activities clearly posted so you can plan your day, activity parks with lots of activities for different ages. My only criticism is that it wasn’t clear which door of the petting barn you go into for the visit but that’s super small in comparison. Even the poor chap who drove the caterpillar ride was kind to my son who followed him off telling him how awesome the ride was and thanking him a thousand times over!! We will definitely be back!! Rivals the other farms in the area easily!

Nature & Parks
Park
Etherow Country Park, located in the heart of the Etherow-Goyt Valley, is one of England's earliest country parks and a popular destination in Stockport. Spanning around 200 acres, it features woodlands, lakes, and a stunning waterfall, offering an ideal setting for leisurely walks. Visitors can engage in activities such as fishing, pond dipping, sailing, and model boating. The park is also home to diverse plant species and over 100 bird species.
Nice area for walk, picnic, and get together. Views are awesome, 3 tracks for walk, including one middle of the lake. One side lake and one side river. Nice view of mountains and forest from parking side of lake. Lot of sitting places. Parking available 0.9 £ per hour, need cash or through App. Need some maintenance and cleaning.
Nasr G — Google review
Etherow is a local nature reserve near the village of Romely, near Stockport. It is close to the Goyt Valley and is the starting point for the Goyt Way trail. The River Etherow flows through the park and is the source of the mill pond there. Sat nav Etherow Park will find it. The Park is well signed from the M60 and has ample paid parking (£3.60 for four hours), cash or on line payment. There is a large cafe there and full toilet facilities. Maps show trails to the north and south of the lake there, plus an interesting one along the middle. Unfortunately, the middle one was blocked off at time if visit (March 2025), owing to extensive tree felling which, in turn, prevented access to the southern trail. So it's an out and back trail at the moment but still a very good walk. Out of the park the path is wide and firm all the way up to an impressive Weir. No special clothing needed here, a perfect family walk. From there the trail goes up through the beautiful woodlands of Ernocroft Woods, a good example of mixed woodland. Here it's narrow and rough - and very steep in places, all the way up to the turn around point on Glossop Road. So sturdy footwear is the order of the day, and don't be shy! Take your walking poles! Once at the far side at the Glossop Road end, it is a turn round and back the way you came. So, a walk for everyone, easy first section but a more challenging track if you are feeling brave. Lots of facilities and not too far off the beaten track. Recommend!

10/10 in summers and spring. There is a cute Cafe for brunch at the main entrance and plenty of dine in restaurants outside and inside the park. It’s very peaceful and you will have a lot of personal space to walk and capture nature. There’s also a hidden spring and mini waterfall there if you use the maps u can find them. The flowers, mini ponds and the river are the main attractions there. Good for jogging and strolling.

This was just breathtaking. I love scouting for a good walk that is full of nature and a complete opposite experience to a grey and industrial town. This delivered tenfold. The gardens themselves were gorgeous and full of vibrant colours and very brave wildlife. The wetlands was full of discovery and very peaceful to walk through. The open plains of grass and large trees and a beautiful man made river made for another beautiful site. And finally, walking through the tall tree woods just made the entire experience wrap up to something special. I want to move closer to here! I’m doing it!

Please visit, these gardens are so beautiful. We visited the parsonage gardens and then went onto Fletcher Moss as they are next door to each other. The parsonage is looked after by volunteers, they do a spectacular job of keeping it all tended to and welcoming the public in. So many varieties of plants, trees etc to see. Seating areas and a cafe.

This park is an absolute gem, especially during the warmer months of spring and summer. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing, making it perfect for a relaxing day outdoors. As you enter, there’s a charming little café right by the main gate ideal for grabbing brunch or a coffee before you start exploring. Beyond that, you’ll find a great selection of restaurants both inside and just outside the park, so food options are never a problem. One of the best things about this place is how spacious it feels. Whether you're walking solo, with friends, or taking the dog out, there's plenty of room to wander without feeling crowded. Nature lovers will appreciate the abundance of flowers, peaceful ponds, and the gentle river that winds through the park. If you’re up for a bit of adventure, there’s a hidden spring and a small waterfall tucked away easy to find if you follow the map or know where to look. It’s also a fantastic spot for jogging or casual strolls. The paths are well-kept, and the scenery changes beautifully with the seasons. Whether you're snapping photos, enjoying the wildlife, or just soaking in the quiet, this park offers a perfect escape from the noise of everyday life. Definitely worth returning to again and again.

Nice place to take a walk or walk your dog, go for a jog or bike ride. Took two push scooters with us, but some paths weren't suitable for them. Various Cafés and eateries close by too. Nice botanical gardens too. Parking seems limited, however we went on a busy Sunday afternoon. Tennis courts available to rent.
Robert P — Google review
Absolutely spiffing park, it's huge and there's so much to see. There's a lonely turtle in the lily pond, somebody has just dumped it there. It's good for cycle rides and dog walking. The children can have adventures as there are so many seemingly secret paths. Today, ee were lucky enough to see the volunteer gardeners at work, prining and tidying up. We saw a very big squirrel and some butterflies and small birds. There are benches with carvings at the ends, rather like arms. We saw a tennis court and a Café plus there's a pub. You can park at the pub car park. Rather than pay to park, pop onto the pub for lunch or a drink and get your parking validated first. You pop your vehicle reg into the screen near the bar.

A huge park with great walks. You hear lots of birds chirping. There are loads of places for families to bring their picnic mats and food. There is a small cafe as well that serves some food and ice cream. Note there is no play area (swings, slides, etc.) for kids, however there's a tennis court.

Value for money easy to reach, ample car parking. Animals looked after with options for interaction and to feed in great condition. Play area is good lots of choice for children under 13yrs, different variety wooden adventure play ground, beach area with toys, food and drinks, stage area, music and covered stage. Indoor play area very good lots of options soft play, role play, trucks and vehicles. You can bring your own food, the food choice is very good and good quality but can be expensive for families. Only issue the footpath not easy to navigate a buggy with an autistic child and dangerous when walking on needs replacing as the stones are to big and a hazard .

Great place to bring the kids. Lots to do and lots of fun. The food isn't expensive but very nice. The staff can't do enough for you and they keep the farm very clean. Lots of animals plenty to keep the kids happy. Wear sensible footwear and buy your tickets in advance.
Kelvin C — Google review
We had my daughter’s birthday there and we were so happy we chose this as a venue - it was brilliant from start to finish. The lady who showed us around made it so much fun for the kids right from the start - she learnt all the kids names and made my daughter feel really special on her birthday. She transmitted a great love of animals and had actually worked on the farm since she was 14 and now is one of the senior members of staff. There were so many different activities the kids were engaged throughout. We did small animal petting, feeding the larger animals, two goes on the fairground rides, jumping on the giant trampolines, and even soft play. The way the adults went around with them meant that children and adults all got to interact loads. It had it all and will be a birthday that my daughter will cherish forever. Thank you!

Great value for money, food was really nice, lots to do and within good walking distance from each other. Would highly recommend looking forward to going back next year
Roseepose — Google review
We’ve attended twice for Halloween now, in 2024 and 2025, and they have both been excellent events. The farm put on lots of activities for kids that are well thought through and are good alternatives to the animal feeding and other facilities always on offer. The numbers of visitors are kept manageable and the on-site staff are very friendly. The tickets are fairly expensive but you get an awful lot for your money if you participate in the organised activities.
Victoria R — Google review
We had such a fantastic time at the farm! The staff were amazing — a special mention to Jordan, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and went out of his way to make our visit truly memorable. The facilities were great, and the kids absolutely loved it, even with the torrential rain that day. Highly recommend!
Jacqueline E — Google review
Would definitely visit again, so much to do and staff are really friendly! One thing I would say, it would be a lot more convenient to be able to use the wheelbarrows to take the pumpkins back to the car. The staff gave me one in the end after seeing us struggle to move 5 pumpkins, but we had a pumpkin stole in the process by a family leaving just before us. We informed the staff and were told nothing could be done, and whilst I appreciate it is not the staffs fault, it’s a little disheartening to leave a pumpkin short when we are paying £6 each for them, and it did ruin the experience slightly as I didn’t leave happy. Being able to use the wheelbarrows in the first place could have avoided this.

Absolutely love thus place all year round but especially in summer where it's always good to have a paddle. There's supervised swimming 🏊‍♂️, canoeing, jet skiing 🎿 to name but a few. I just like to have a walk and reconnect with nature. Great place to walk your dog 🐕.

Lovely place to walk around at anytime of the day. But i do enjoy an evening walk 👌 The restaurant stays open quite late and offers take out option on their hot drinks, possibly others never tried. The restaurant staff are helpful and friendly too. There are a few different walks available, lots of great photo opportunities and also a wildlife hut half way if you need to take 5. Benches around the walk too. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Never tried the water activities but from what I have seen they appear to be good, folk sound happy enough when partaking. Great for dog walks too

Lovely park for a walk or a picnic on a sunny day. Quite big and plenty of space to sit around the lake. **PLEASE NOTE: No renting available this summer - which was quite disappointing since we had read online that you were able to hire pedal boats, canoes, kayaks etc.

A lovely park with lots of options for children to have fun. We had 6 children ranging from 9 months to 8 years and all found something to do. Parking is reasonable, as is the kiosk. They enjoyed feeding the ducks, the bike track, play ground and the sand pit. More benches on the sunshine would be useful.

The park itself is lovely and a brilliant place for kids to play with plenty to do. The toilets however really let the place down, they're filthy, smelly, no soap dispensers so couldn't properly wash our hands, no locks on the doors, smashed wall tiles, cobwebs, dead spiders and other insects all over the place and overall very run down and unkempt. I definitely wouldn't want to change a baby in those conditions.

Beautiful park with footpaths and trail walking and running, cycling tracks, parking , toilets and cafe facilities. Beautiful free garden to wander around in. Very well maintained and a lovely place to be. Makes a difference to the other neglected parks in the area.

A really beautiful and unique garden that kind of feels like being in a video game map. It's clear there's been a lot of effort put into making and maintaining it.
Iqtrab F — Google review
The Walken Gardens is not only a charming garden for the Wisteria goers but it is also a picnic place for family gatherings on holidays. The particular design of the garden is a mysterious maze giving you a challenge on the lawns walking through to find your way out. When entering the Gardens, people are firstly greeted by the "Dovecote" standing solemly before your sight. Walking along the lawns of the maze, you can find an arch built for the wiseria plants climbing on it , red maples to attract your eye-sight, types of butterflies and bees dancing among the flower blossoms. People are hardly to find a garden like Walken Gardens because there are spacious squares designed inside the maze for families to bring their children for a picnic here. It is a pity that most of the wisteria blossms had fallen when I have visited. There are still some strings of them hanging down overhead from the brim of the arch. Wisteria goers can have a good view in the early May of each year.
Chan A — Google review
Wisteria is blooming! Finally caught it this year:) This garden is always well looked after

Small but perfectly formed park! Best bit IMO is the Japanese garden which looks beautiful in all seasons with its stone river and cute seating area. Also has a wisteria tunnel, which is amazing to walk through when in bloom, a mini hill great for little ones to tumble down and a mini maze. No swings or slides though, just lots of connected little gardens.

Update: the play equipment has been updated, mostly positive, but some things could have been improved further. Younger kids section is great, the larger one is good. Always a great place to take the little one to run off some energy, although the equipment is getting a bit tired. There are lots of different places to explore and trees to climb and a river to splash in once the playground has been exhausted. There is a quaint train that runs weekends and bank holidays over the summer. Toilets are on site, but the shop should be missed.

Queen's Park, located in Bolton, is a classic Victorian public park that has been a beloved destination since its inauguration in 1866. The park underwent renovations in the 2000s and now boasts well-maintained grassy areas, mature trees, and charming Victorian architecture. Visitors can enjoy various amenities such as a modern playground, tennis courts, and a bowling green. The park's picturesque setting along the River Croal includes a lake and formal flowerbeds in the sunken garden.
Queens Park in Bolton is an absolute gem! Spanning 22 acres, this Victorian park beautifully blends history and nature, offering a serene escape right in the heart of town. My family and I had a wonderful visit, and the park’s charm left us all enchanted. The recent restoration has truly brought back its original Victorian glory, with well-maintained pathways, a stunning lake, and vibrant cherry blossoms adding to its regal appeal—aptly named Queens Park! The playground was a highlight for my kids, who were thrilled with the variety of play equipment. They spent hours exploring and playing, their laughter echoing through the park. The lake, home to ducks and herons, was a delight, with birdsong creating a peaceful ambiance despite the nearby roads. The artificial fountain added a whimsical touch, and we enjoyed treats from the ice cream van and cozy café area. The park’s Green Flag award is well-deserved, reflecting its high standards. From the grand staircases to the lush greenery, there’s a royal vibe that makes this park special. Whether you’re a nature lover, fitness enthusiast, or just seeking tranquility, Queens Park has it all. My kids can’t wait to return, and I highly recommend this park to anyone visiting Bolton—it’s a truly extraordinary experience!

First visit here and for the most, no complaints. Lovely views, decent park, lots of benches and green space to enjoy a picnic. Gorgeous gardens and the lake we went to was thriving. Squirrels everywhere and not shy. Only issue was that after using the pull up weights on the outdoor gym, everyone was stained black. It washed off at home but it wasn't ideal walking round dirty for the rest of the day.

A hidden gem just outside Bolton town center. Beautifully cared for and maintained. A lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of Bolton town center.

Queen’s Park in Bolton is a gem for families and individuals alike, offering a delightful blend of tranquillity and fun. This well-maintained park is a haven for children, boasting an impressive playground with around 15 engaging play structures that spark joy and creativity. From slides to climbing frames, there’s something to keep kids entertained for hours. The park’s serene atmosphere makes it equally appealing for adults seeking a peaceful stroll or a refreshing run through its scenic paths. A charming café sits conveniently next to the playground, perfect for grabbing a cuppa or a snack, though it requires a short walk to reach, adding to the park’s relaxed vibe. The lush greenery and open spaces create an inviting setting for picnics, leisurely walks, or simply unwinding. Whether you’re a parent watching your little ones play or someone looking for a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle, Queen’s Park delivers. The park is clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed, making it a fantastic spot for all ages. I highly recommend Queen’s Park to anyone in Bolton or visiting the area. The park caters to families with young children by offering a sandy playground and diverse entertainment options for older kids. Stamford Park is large enough to provide quiet spots for picnics while also providing refreshments at its small cafe.
A beautiful park to visit for a walk or a picnic with family, it's a shame the tropical conservatory is no longer here, it has some beautiful exotic plants in it. The bird sanctuary is lovely, birds of all kinds are well looked after. There is a nice little train ride that you can take a ride in around the park which is great for kids. The cafe is good, simple but friendly staff and clean. The food is nice and the toilets are clean. The park has a Victorian walk that you can do with little waterfalls and bridges, it's off the main paths so can be a bit muddy in parts. Also I'd like to mention the Adorable Squirrel friends of the park that love to come and see what food you have for them, they are not shy to get up close and will take nuts out of your hands if your calm and gentle. I definitely would recommend a visit it's a great place to go for a Sunday walk and a summers day.

I love this park! I visited for the first time. Lots of on street parking however if it gets full there are car parks close by and really cheap - around £2.00 for all day! Can pay cheaper for less amount of hours too. The park provides a little train ride for all families to enjoy around the park - a small charge of £1.50. They also have water sprinklers where children can enjoy wet play. It ilreally is lots of fun for the whole family. SAND area is lovely and clean. They also have an aviary with lots of hens, chickens and budgies - fantastic. Stamford Park have lovely gardens full of bloomed flowers to enjoy a lovely scenic walk as well as ice cream vans to enjoy. Highly recommend to all!

Families can enjoy the two play areas nestled within 40 hectares of natural landscapes. Additionally, there are opportunities for fishing and orienteering. Visited 04/05/2025, after doing some research found three car parks and went for the one adjacent to the cafe, there is limited spaces so I’d going on a weekend when busier best to get early. The cafe is a good place to start and with the day being sunny got a lovely two scoop ice cream to have as walking around. If walking with young members and/or those who need a stable path to walk on then recommend walking the green route, although once you get to the point where the people fishing along the bank and near to a road exit, the signs disappear as they have been either damaged or removed so you then have to go back on yourself as any other route for instance under the bridge tunnel is not as accessible and the other side of the water stream is very muddy as if horses from nearby training school have been taken through so stick to main path back. Lovely place to visit, lots of friendly hellos as going around from friendly visitors/locals, a welcoming place to visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was our first time walking around Daisy Nook, despite having lived in Oldham all my life. We walked just over 2 miles in total. Starting off in Stannybrook Car Park, walked up the main trail, up to Crime Lake, and back round Sammy's Basin. Daisy Nook is beautiful I would highly recommend. Excellent for photographers and walkers alike. I believe they have Kingfishers there although we sadly didn't see any today. Parking is free, and there is a cafe onsite. Suitable footwear is advised, as even though it was a dry day, the rain from the night before had caused some big puddles along the side of the river.

Daisy Nook Country Park is a peaceful green space tucked between Oldham and Manchester, ideal for a quiet walk, family picnic, or short cycle. The mix of woodlands, canals, and open fields gives it a calming feel. There's a good mix of flat paths and gentle slopes, so it's accessible for all ages. The canal and viaduct are especially scenic, and you'll often spot wildlife like ducks, herons, and squirrels. The small café near the car park is decent for a quick coffee or snack. It's usually clean and well-kept, although the car park can get busy on warm weekends. Great spot for a bit of fresh air without leaving Greater Manchester.
Patrik K — Google review
It is a lovely park, and we really enjoyed being entertained by the ducks. Good for a bike ride with the kids or just with adults. There's a cafe whuch sells burgers, chips and snacks plus hot and cold drinks abd ice cream. The toilets leave much to be desired are desperately in need of an upgrade, the one used wouldn't flush and looked lit hadn't done so for a long time. I had to queue to wash & dry my hands. Three cubicles, two sinks, and one hand dryer. Otherwise, it's a lively day out.

A great place to visit with some stunning scenery. The Café serves good food and drinks at reasonable prices and the staff are helpful and accommodating. The parking is free and there are plenty of spaces to park near the Café. There are some good walks from here through Daisy Nook Country Park.

Daisy Nook is a lovely countryside escape tucked away in Oldham, just outside the city buzz of Manchester. It offers a peaceful mix of woodlands, canals, walking trails, and open green spaces — perfect for a quiet stroll, family outing, or even a bit of photography. The paths are well-maintained, and there’s a calm, relaxed atmosphere all around. There’s also a small café near the entrance for a coffee or snack after a walk. A great spot to reconnect with nature without going too far from town.
Mazhar T — Google review
Great place for a walk, with a sandy play area for small children with a cafe and toilets. There is parking but no designated disabled spaces. There is a bike rack to secure cycles.

The Wythenshawe Community Farm is a small but great little farm that has friendly staff and lovely animals. It is the second time I have visited and was glad to see baby piglets, chicks, and calf as well as ducklings. The fun for all ages continues with the opportunity to buy fresh produce directly from the farm. The farm also needs some work on its walled garden - it's lovely out there!
Wythenshawe Community Farm & Shop is a hidden gem in Manchester offering a warm, family friendly experience with friendly animals and a cosy farm shop stocked with fresh local produce. The farmstead feels welcoming and well cared for and the animals seem content and approachable. Walking around the various paddocks offers a nice break from the urban environment and occasional staff led talks add a friendly educational touch. Picking up fresh eggs, vegetables, homemade baked items, cheeses and preserves feels like supporting local farming. It makes a great outing with kids or a peaceful solo stroll and an easy stop for wholesome farm food near the city.
Patrik K — Google review
First time here today. It's an ok farm. Not very big. Variety of animals are minimal too. You have cowes, chicken, donkey, goats, pigs and this pretty much it! Wouldn't pay if it wouldn't be free. Not worth it!
Irina K — Google review
Wythenshawe Park is where I walk everyday with my husband. We do approximately a 45 minute walk each morning. The park is excellent and there’s food choice galore and the farm is a great experience even ax an adult. The children’s park has recently expanded. There is an adult gym. The gym is too close to the play park and should be in a different area but is a great addition to the park. We have concerts and events happening throughout the year. Free parking too! I love the park and feel privileged to be able to get there in 5 minutes from my house.
Angie G — Google review
Nice community farm and shop within Wythenshawe park and gardens. Children can get up close to young animals in pens. Or take a walk around walled garden with more animals. Shop has a selection of meat, plants, even farm sticker books for children. Disabled access throughout but could get a bit bumpy around walled garden.

Only small but a great little farm with friendly staff and lovely animals. This was my second visit and was great to see baby piglets and chicks and calf as well as ducklings! Fun for all ages and you can even buy fresh and home made produce! Which is fab! Defiantly a firm favourite of mine being local as well!

A pleasant little farm in a large park with many things to do. Very much enjoyed seeing the pony and goat wandering around freely, they were both very friendly! You can also buy some food for the animals at the shop.

It's a nice park with a large play area, farm to walk around and plenty of space to play. Ice cream van always seems to be there at the weekend and the cafe is ok albeit a little slow when very busy. Parking can get busy at peak times

Nestled between Bolton and Manchester in Salford, Clifton Country Park is a delightful blend of nature and recreation. This expansive country park features serene woodlands, vibrant meadows, and a picturesque lake along the River Irwell. Families can enjoy ranger-led events that include orienteering and climbing activities. The park boasts an impressive play area equipped with a giant swing, climbing frames with monkey bars, slides, swings, and charming animal-themed springies for children to enjoy.
Great bike trails and walks. Lovely marina and bits of history throughout. There's a sculpture walk around the marina too so lots to see and do. I maybe saw 20% of the whole place and will definitely be back to scope out the rest. Ample parking and an on site cafe by the main entrance (close to the marina). Can be joined at kearsley station or Salford crescent station side if desired with minimal road crossings to enter. I'd recommend the main entrance off Bolton road near Clifton cricket ground (look for the brown signposts)

I recall Clifton Country Park from the early 70s when the work on the motorway was completed and it was, literally, a hole in the ground that had been filled with water. So very different 50 years later. Now a very attractive lake surrounded by overhanging trees. It looks surprisingly natural. I saw several deer and an obliging fish jumped out of the water. And most surprising of all: the River Irwell alongside no longer looked like an open sewer. Worth visiting for some countryside in Manchester.
Gareth M — Google review
Nice walk round the lake, better to go early morning its quieter then gets a bit busy on a sunny afternoon

A lovely country park in the Orwell valley between Salford and Bolton. Great amenities. The park is well maintained by volunteers. There is a large lake and lots of woodland walks

A great location for a family walk. There's a free car park and small visitor centre/cafe. We did a full loop around the water before playing at the park. There were horses and donkeys in the field next to the car park and the kids enjoyed going up to the fence to say hello.

An old colliery that closed over fifty years ago and nature has been fashioned for this edge of the town country park. Lake is excellent. Apart from the ducks we saw a cormorant, egrets and a heron, all looking majestic.

Wild Things Soft Play Centre offers a cutting-edge play area that is both stimulating and demanding for infants, toddlers, and children up to 11 years old. Their skilled in-house chefs prepare fresh meals daily on-site, ensuring top-notch quality. While the exact dates are yet to be confirmed on their Facebook page (with plans targeting the May bank holiday weekend), this center has gained popularity as a go-to destination for soft play and parties.
Staff really friendly and everything for our daughter's party (a private hire of Wild Things) was well organised and included provision for different dietary /allergy requirements. The party food as part of the package was perfect for the kids and the cafe provided nice coffee and food (paninis, butties, etc) for the adults. I'd thoroughly recommend this soft play.
James W — Google review
I took my 18 month old this afternoon and he really enjoyed all of the different areas. Being a parent of a toddler who is too young to go on the play frames on his own, I was very grateful there was enough room for me to navigate the play frames with him. It’s cheap as chips too. £6 to enter (£2 for an adult and £4 for under 2s). I got a latte with oat milk, a bottle of water and a tub of vegan ice cream, all for £6 something! The ladies who work there were welcoming, chatty and informative. The only downsides and the reason for 4 stars, were the broken nappy bin, broken clip on the changing station strap and the fact I didn’t know about this place during my maternity leave. I have lived in Bramhall for 30 years and never knew it existed, until a recent look on google maps. The owner should spend some money on advertising, such as a sign at the entrance to Headlands Road/Bridge Lane(if the council allow), put some posters up in local places like cafes/shops and get better social media presence. We were the only customers in there, which would change with some advertising. We booked between 2 and 4.
Ellie M — Google review
I had my boy's 6th year old birthday party, abundance parking space, exclusive hire means he played with all of his friends, he knew everyone in the soft play. The centre is quite large, big enough for 20 kids. There is also toddler area for little siblings. Party food is served in the upper private area, there are pizza & sandwich (or fish finger & fries for vegan), sausage roll, unlimited juice, and vanilla ice cream. You can bring your own decoration (backdrop, balloons... etc) You have your own party rundown, decide when to cut cake and have food. The only downside is there is no party host for cake cutting ceremony, the staff offered a bell for you to notify the kids, you have to lead and sing birthday song all by yourself.
Bonnie C — Google review
Brought my little granddaughter here on a weekday afternoon. Firstly the website needs improving, and there is no choice other than book and pay before going. It is easy to find, and plenty of parking. The lady at the front desk is lovely. The play equipment is as you would expect with climbing and sliding components. There is also an area with a road map and plenty of play cars. There is also a small area for under 3's. I had a jacket potatoe and chilli which was fine. However the toilet areas need a good clean. And the smell as you walk in there. Otherwise it would have been a 4 star.
Lorraine O — Google review
We have been here several times with our young children and the place is consistently spotlessly clean, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is always tasty and good value. The younger child section is also great for our toddler. We would definitely recommend!

Excellent place, friendly place, great equipment. Kids had fun what more can you ask for.
Ben R — Google review
Brilliant little soft play, and the food is also of a really good quality for the price (you could tell the pasta and chilli were home made). The place is spotlessly clean, secure and it's nice to be able to see our children at all times. There are only a couple of slides, but they are brilliant (for children and adults!)
Sarah — Google review
Really lovely soft play centre - our favourite! It's a perfect size, and is beautifully clean, and well maintained so that it has a new feeling. It's laid out brilliantly so you can see your children at all times which is great! We had our party there recently, and, unlike some other centres, it closed to the public for the 2 hour party which was fantastic, and a big draw for us in making the booking! It made my little one's party really special because the children weren't over-run by lots of non-party kids, and could really enjoy the equipment fully, having the place to themselves. Nita and Mike and Shania were great, and ensured everything ran seamlessly on the day - especially as Nita shared helpful top tips for us re: logistics on the day having run many parties before! We could access the party tea area beforehand in good time to be able to dress it ready for the party tea, while the owners cleaned everywhere after the doors closed to the public before the party, and that was invaluable to us too! We loved the day and will be back soon!

Boggart Hole Clough, located in Blackley, Manchester, is a large woodland and urban country park with ancient woodland fragments. The area features picturesque cloughs with steep ravines and sloping gullies. According to Lancashire folklore, the wood is said to be haunted by a mischievous spirit called a boggart. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as boating on the lake and exploring play and sports facilities.
A cracking little walk out with grandaughter. We both enjoyed walking around the ponds, looking for wildlife. Shame we didn't have our cameras with us. Some very unexpected wildlife spotted, resulting in another visit being planned. But seriously paying it forward to the cafe as they really made her trip out with a special treat. ;) #hiking #cycling #running #fishing #playarea #photography #painting and loads more.

I have been going to the clough for almost 50 years. It is a beautiful park and has lovely scenery. Although it is set in the middle of Blackley, it is a hidden gem. Great for long strolls or a good run, it has long paths but plenty if hills if you fancy a challenge. The lake is a great place to see some wildlife- herons, turtles, ducks, geese and swans; the lakeside cafe offers a comforting menu and the staff are very friendly - dogs welcome! We’ll worth a visit!

Great park in amongst urban existence. We walked it late 9 pm at the end of May and there were a few teenagers hanging around at 10 in the way out so maybe not for the faint hearted at that time but it was a lovely change from the previous 4 days. A great park for a run.

Lovely place. Very clean especially for a public park. 2 nice fishing lakes which are gin clear. The cafe is very reasonable for a coffee (£1.60) for a proper coffee) bacon butties cooked fresh and lovely, helpful staff and regulars. I'm actually a bit reticent about giving it a good review as it's so good I want to keep it to myself. Current fishing prices: Day ticket £5 for 2 rods £8 for three available from the cafe or the bailiff. Membership is also an option at a very reasonable rate. Enquire at the cafe for details.

What a gem this place is. I have driven past plenty of times but never looked around. Spent an afternoon here. The parkland is stunning. Easily accessible wide paths around the park. Lots of birds and trees to discover. The cafe is a fabulous community space with friendly staff. Had coffee and cake.

Excellent park to walk hike or to rid bicycle. It is good one for all the family and to watch variety of birds and various species. When ready for rest you have the nice cafe by the lake. They do Very nice breakfast and light lunch hit and cold drinks in addition to the ice-cream. The park is very clean thanks to the devoted volunteers that make eveyone happy and enjoy the park while they do the hard work. The layout is also fantastic and you can explore one of your corner of the park in every visit. It is hard to complete covering the park 🏞 in one go. Also it is on frequent bus routes and that makes it more convenient and excessable by all. As always nice time there

Lovely little park. Highlight is the 30p sit on train. Kids playground. Just needs the bushes trimming on the path round the bowling green. Coffee barge well placed!
Neil S — Google review
I recently visited Walton Park for a day of family and friends fun, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. The park offered a wide range of amenities that catered to various interests. One of the highlights of the park was its well-maintained playground. It was thoughtfully divided into sections, ensuring that children of all ages could have a great time. The play area for toddlers was perfect for the little ones to explore and play safely, while the separate play area for older kids provided an engaging space for them to run, climb, and have fun. Sports enthusiasts had their share of excitement too. The tennis and basketball courts were in excellent condition, and what I particularly liked was the flexibility to use the same court for 5-a-side football. We even tried our hand at cricket, although it might not have been the intended use for the space. The only downside was that the toilets were closed during our visit, which was a bit inconvenient, hopefully this might have been a temporary issue. For those looking for a quieter experience, the peaceful walk by the canal adjacent to the park was a serene escape from the playground's energy. Additionally, the small train ride available on Sundays added an extra layer of excitement for the kids. One minor suggestion would be to add more slides to the kids' play area. After a while, my children did start to get a bit bored, and a few additional play elements could have kept them entertained for longer. All in all, our visit to Walton Park was a pleasant one. It's a well-rounded destination for families, sports enthusiasts, and those seeking a tranquil walk by the water. With a few minor improvements, it could become an even more attractive spot for a day of outdoor enjoyment.

Longford Park is the largest park in Stretford, spanning over 54 acres and offering a variety of attractions. It features lush green spaces with beautifully landscaped gardens, a kids' playground with separate areas for different age groups, tennis and basketball courts, and even a disc golf course. The park is a haven for nature lovers, providing ample space for leisurely strolls through rose gardens or picnics by the pond.
I love the walk here. Very peaceful, lots of nature and greenery. Lots of benches to sit and reflect. It's dog friendly so lots of people walking their pets. History posts dotted about for a quick read. Lots of amazing trees and colour. It's a great morning/afternoon walk or a day out if you have young children.

Longford Park is a great spot for a relaxed day out, especially if you're bringing a picnic or your dog. The picnic areas are well-maintained, with plenty of grassy spaces to spread out, and several benches and shaded spots that make it comfortable even on sunnier days. It's a peaceful environment, ideal for families or friends wanting a quiet afternoon outdoors. A standout feature is the cycling area, which includes a paid cycling course offering bikes for all abilities. There are standard bikes, children's bikes, adaptive cycles for people with disabilities, and trikes – making it inclusive and accessible for everyone, including young children and those with special needs. It’s a great way to get active in a safe, supervised setting.

An oasis of fun and peace within the hustle and bustle of Manchester City centre. Situated reasonably close to both old Trafford football and cricket grounds, this park can provide some nice respite from the heaving crowds on match day and associated hooliganism. The park is huge, and is equipped with a lovely cafe (see my previous review), children’s play areas, large fields appropriate for games and ball sports, tennis courts and a disc golf course (reviewed separately). The park is far quieter than nearby equivalents such as Platt Fields park, Manchester and Alexandra Park, Manchester. This makes is a great target for an afternoon of peace and quiet immersed in nature. The park has lots of little hidden gems, nice flower patches and architectural relics.

Prestwich Forest Park, located just a short drive from Heaton Park, is a sprawling 200-acre woodland and open space area comprising four interconnected parks: Philips Park, Drinkwater Park, Waterdale, and Prestwich Clough. The park offers various forest walks and a mountain bike trail for visitors to explore. With its diverse routes and ample space, the park never feels overcrowded. The heavily wooded areas provide a peaceful escape from urban noise, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts.
Large park with easy and hard mountain bike trails, walking routes and gardens. Does take some time to get around as the park is huge with Picnic areas. ponds and sculpture trails. Plenty of wildlife and Great for kids 👍🏻

Saw more litter than wildlife. Looks like it hasn’t been managed in the last 50 years. Genuine trees that looked like they had been growing rubbish and plastic bags instead of leaves. Do not recommend if you are looking for nature!

A vast and natural woodland park, ideal for long walks and connecting with nature. Prestwich Forest Park is a spacious, well-preserved area that offers a true woodland experience just minutes from the town. The walking trails are extensive, with a mix of open paths and shaded forest routes, making it suitable for both casual visitors and those looking for longer walks. The park feels peaceful and uncrowded, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy wildlife and seasonal scenery. It’s dog-friendly, family-friendly, and a great spot for those who enjoy fresh air and outdoor exercise. Parking is available nearby, and the pathways are generally clear, though some routes are more natural and less paved, adding to the woodland feel. Overall, Prestwich Forest Park is a highly recommended place to escape into nature and enjoy the outdoors in a calm and natural setting. xxx

Whitworth Park is absolutely lovely – a real slice of tranquility in Manchester. Strolling through, you're surrounded by stunning greenery and flowers that seem to pop with color. It's so peaceful, the perfect spot to unwind or have a leisurely walk. I love how well-kept everything is, from the lawns to the paths. There's a certain charm here that you just feel - it's a little haven in the midst of the city bustle. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area and looking for a moment of calm.

Really nice park with a lot of younger and older kids playground. It also has an outdoor gym equipment. Plenty of open spaces for picnics and just running around. Few access points from various roads in the area.

First time to come this park, really hard to find a parking space around this area especially close to Oxford Road. Quite a lot children facilities here though and nice shadow under trees around the playground. Many people enjoy sun shine in the field instead. It’s the season to go to park and exploring everywhere for kids and your mental health.

The Escape Hunt Manchester center is a highly rated escape room where customers can enjoy themed games inspired by movies and TV shows. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and will attempt to answer any questions about the next game. This is an excellent experience that is quiet and perfect for a quick chat.
We had such a fantastic time at this escape room! The puzzles were creative, challenging, and really well thought out. The room design and atmosphere were immersive from the moment we stepped in—it truly felt like we were part of a real adventure. A huge thank you to Sham, who made the entire experience even better. From the warm welcome to the helpful (but not too helpful!) clues, Sham struck the perfect balance and kept the energy high throughout. You can tell they genuinely love what they do, and it made all the difference. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun, brain-teasing group activity. We’ll definitely be back to try the next room!

This was our third experience at Escape Hunt and it really is the best escape room business we have been to. This time we chose the Wild West themed room. The scenario was fun and engaging and the puzzles were diverse. We managed to get going quickly and felt like we were making good progress but the puzzles got more difficult as we progressed. Sarah was our host and was super helpful when we needed assistance. We managed to escape within the hour and had a fabulous time! Highly recommend!

We visited today to play the Alice in Puzzle land room and had an amazing time. Toyah was out host and she was so friendly and helpful. The room was fun, just the right level of challenge, and Toyah gave the right level of support without giving anything away. We will definitely come back!

Junkyard Golf Club in Manchester has become a popular destination for various social outings, offering a unique twist on traditional crazy golf. The venue features creatively designed holes set in a dark fairground, a crazy jungle, and a scrapyard challenge. It also boasts an eco-friendly charm as it is constructed from recycled materials and found objects. After the game, visitors can enjoy vibrant cocktails topped with sweets at the colorful bar.
Had some good fun in this place, definitely a quirky place with some good and fun ideas for crazy golfing, something different than other crazy golf spots. Would recommend to groups and for a fun time out for most people who want to try and activity out. They have different areas, a bar for drinks at any time, and fun arcade section to bring back some old memories (I played street fighter and guitar heroes) and a good mix of music to get your jam on at the same time. A word of warning for those who struggle with strobe lighting, there is a lot of flashing lights which can be problematic for some people.

SO. MUCH. FUN! We came in for a fun evening whilst staying locally in Manchester for my birthday weekend…. and we’re so glad we did! Right from the start, the staff were so friendly and energetic, recommending cocktails and showing us what’s in the happy hour offer. There’s cocktails were fun and not just dull drinks in a glass - some come in metal tins and coconut shells, some have do-it-yourself elements like the fizz whiz powder! There’s then three amazing courses you can do, and with the VIP ticket you get unlimited goes on the entire thing. There is courses were 9 holes a piece, and each course was different, yet interactive and fun to play. Absolutely would recommend coming in - it’s affordable and fun for everyone.

A cheap and cheerful after work get together. It was a fun hour to unwind after work. We had a good game for £11 each where we all learned we aren't actually that good at putting. If you have some time to kill in Manchester it's a good place to do it. Also try the cocktails although they are a little overpriced! Also remember to bring a spare pair of trousers in case you get a hole in one!

I actually thought i was going to hate this place, loud busy areas arent typically for me but i was invited for a birthday. Turns out i had a great time! The courses are fun and even though it was a busy Saturday night i didn't feel crowded at all. We did all 3 courses and it took us about 2.5 hours. Drinks are expensive but theres lots of fun cocktails. Theres a cloakroom at the entrance. Night time means no kids which is very nice!

We’ve been twice and have found it’s a great experience for all ages. We took our toddler (just under 2) to the toddler session on a Sunday morning the second time which was better for her. It felt perfectly safe. non of us stopped laughing for the full hour. I definitely recommend booking in advance and doing the waiver forms before you come to save time. The cafe is reasonably priced. We usually spend about 1.5 hours here.

I genuinely cannot belive what i have been told. So carers tickets can not be done online, so the night before I sent an email asking for a way to add them on. I then went and booked for 5 children, they have a code on for discount also so it went down to £61 pound. I then received an email with a phone number to add carers tickets. So I called up and asked politely if I could add carers tickets to my booking, there response was the time slot is full, I said okay so what can I do now. She then said I can move your booking to 1pm, I said thats great thank you. She then proceeds to say we can only move your booking once, she said this twice, I said yes I am aware of this i am not moving them for any other reason other than the fact you just told me to so I can add carers. She then said actually the under 4 area is fully booked so now we wont be able to add you on. I said okay so what can I do now, she them went to speak to her manager, she then proceeds to say we can move you to 5pm, I said I cannot do 5pm as I have disabled children. She then proceeds to say we wont be able to add carers tickets and you used the "promotional discount" no more discounted tickets are allowed to the booking. I was gobsmacked, carers tickets are being treated as a discounted ticket, when if my children did not have a disability then I would just be free spectator anyway!. She then went of again and said i have been authorised to give you a refund. Should be ashamed.

We visited for the first time and had a great experience! It's a fantastic place for children to burn off energy and have fun. The atmosphere was friendly, and the kids really enjoyed themselves. The only downside was that a few older teenagers were occasionally disrupting the little ones during play. Other than that, highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a thrilling adventure that brings back the nostalgia of the 90s, The Crystal Maze is an experience you won’t want to miss. This interactive attraction allows groups of friends or colleagues to dive into a world reminiscent of the beloved television show. With four distinct zones—Aztec, Industrial, Futuristic, and Medieval—participants can engage in a variety of mind-bending puzzles and physical challenges that require teamwork and creativity.
Will you start the fans please Wanted something to do on our 10th year wedding anniversary As we both grew up watching this, we decided to give it a shot We were not disappointed It’s a tiny place from the outside so I wasn’t too sure what awaited us I would say it’s kinda on the pricey side, however it’s worth every penny. They also don’t charge that much for photos at the end. There are quite a few souvenirs you can purchase as well We were greeted by the receptionist, which was a really nice bloke. We found out we were just going into the game with only two of us. Which made things even better as we didn’t have to share the experience with strangers and I think doing that would’ve made the whole experience a bit awkward. SO TOP MARKS for this ! The woman who took us in and explained the rules beforehand was really nice. Put a lot of effort in to get us hyped up and in the mood. We were greeted by our game host Holly Day. Awesome is the only way to describe her. This is exactly like the TV show. We also did a few games off the show. We visited all four zones and collected nine crystals. The place is massive. Had no idea where they put it all! We collected 106 tokens in the dome. I would’ve liked to had recording of us inside the dome also I think a nice touch would be if you collected a certain amount of tokens you can get some free souvenirs or discounts off the souvenirs This place is a must visit for anyone who’s watched the show. This place is 10/10 can’t fault it Keep up the excellent work, guys

Had an absolutely fantastic experience with the whole family! They have some of the games we watched growing up and some newer ones. Our host was encouraging and funny and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I was able to buy the tickets online, and was tempted to buy them many days in advance but glad we didn’t. Because we went on a weekday, they were cheaper to buy in the morning and had many open slots. I would highly recommend. Our group had a couple of seniors and they were offered easier access into the maze for the different sections.
Madeeha A — Google review
Having been a massive fan of The Crystal Maze since childhood, I was thrilled that I finally got the chance to go with my mates to Manchester for the experience. The Medieval, Industrial, Aztec and Futuristic Zones are all great recreations of the original realms on TV, with the physical, skill, mental and mystery games all being challenging and great fun. Like the original series, you go around the entire experience in teams (in our case, it was 6), trying to win crystals and win time for The Crystal Dome at the end. Each game along the way has an average time of two minutes to complete, and there are occasional automatic lock-ins. However, if a team member gets locked in, you immediately forfeit a Crystal. No one gets left behind. The staff were all really friendly and professional, and before the game got underway, they consulted with all of us about any health issue/conditions (which I really appreciated given my epilepsy). The experience was made even more rewarding knowing that valued health & safety and accommodated accordingly. A big shout-out as well to our guide, Dingo Dave! He was a great character and the perfect host for our experience! Finally, there’s a great cafe there, and some good souvenirs (like crystals) and photos to purchase as well afterwards. Overall, The Crystal Maze Experience in Manchester was a fantastic day out and vital for both fans of the TV show and those just looking for a fun activity! Thank you very much! Would love to come back again!

Visited today, quality service from the moment we walked in till the moment we left the experience. Was just in a pair, so was paired up with another family which was actually a blessing in disguise as it really helped make the day feel more authentic and was able to swap skill sets! Our Maze Master was the GOAT (Literally) and kept the day flowing really well and made the experience fun. The games and theming are great and really capture the essence of the 90s TV show! If your in two minds about booking a trip, just book it, you'll have a blast!

We really enjoyed our visit. Captured the original concept well. The only negative we had was more around how appropriate each game would be dependant on age. Everyone had a good time though and the host was great fun
Mike H — Google review
Absolutely loved it, I never watched the show so it’s quite interesting for me. We bought tickets online and joined it with other people. We each did at least two of the challenges and got two gems too. We do well and we got a bonus one. Highly recommend it. Selfie Steve was fab, he was so patient, encouraging and supportive along the way. He explained everything clearly and guided us through the journey. If you want something fun to do in Manchester, don’t hesitate to book it. PS: Phones are not allowed so no pictures taken.

We were a party of 20, split into 3 groups. We had a great time, I managed to win 2x crystals for my team but could not convert time into points as the girls did not put the tickets into the post box before the time ran out. Anyway, it was great to get a good bonding session for the team and everyone enjoyed the visit, Every one of the 20 were buzzing after the games We also pre-ordered some food and the burgers were awesome, 5 -guys quality ... fantastic. Topped off the day nicely.

So much fun, went as a family of four where the children had never seen the crystal maze and we all throughly enjoyed ourselves. Peel Park, located next to the University of Salford, has been a public green space since 1846 and recently underwent a major transformation. It offers various facilities such as a children's play area, sports pitches, and a tree trail. The park is part of the newly created 50-mile Salford Trail, providing diverse walking routes around the city. Named after Prime Minister Robert Peel, it holds historical significance and was funded entirely by people's subscription.
A serene and peaceful park, perfect for a morning walk, especially with the river running alongside. The park is spacious, offering plenty of room to explore, and the presence of seagulls, ducks, and pigeons adds to the tranquil atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a quiet moment in nature or simply a refreshing walk, this park provides an ideal setting. I liked it the most when I was snapping pictures of these birds and they were posing like models.

Play Factore is a leading indoor play arena in Manchester, offering an array of activities for families. It features the tallest indoor slide in the UK, a full laser tag arena, Valo Jump trampolines, zip wire, virtual reality experiences, and the largest toddler area in the country. The center also includes interactive toddler rooms and iClick floors to aid children's movement development.
Very clean, staff friendly, lots of interactive play and the main frame was enjoyed by both 5 and 11 year old. We thought it was good value for money and will come back.
Jodie N — Google review
We paid over £14 for two adults and our 2½-year-old. When we arrived, they told us the toddler area was closed all day. No refund, no help. Our child had to play with much older kids, which didn’t feel safe. We had to stay with them the whole time. The place feels rundown. Most things cost extra, and the food and drinks weren’t great. It’s more for kids over 6. The only good part was the friendly staff in the restaurant, although I almost got scammed for 1 jelly 🙈😆 Not worth it for little ones.
Melanie R — Google review
Visited with my Granddaughter 9 yrs. She likes the interior climbing frame up to the slide. She also likes the zip wire which is an additional payment. Nice clean venue and I'm sure we'll be visiting again.
Anthony H — Google review
We recently visited The Play Factore and were very impressed with the facilities — it’s a wonderful place for children and families to enjoy. However, we did encounter an issue upon entry. Our 2-year-old’s water bottle was taken away at the entrance. While we completely understand and respect the venue’s policy to protect on-site sales, it can be challenging for parents of young children. It might be helpful if some flexibility could be considered in cases involving toddlers or very young children. We appreciate the efforts of the staff to maintain consistency with the rules and ensure a pleasant environment for all guests. We hope this feedback can be taken into consideration for future improvements. A small tip: don’t let the staff see you bringing in a water bottle — we saw some families hide theirs, and it totally worked
Betty L — Google review
Had a really upsetting experience at Play Factore today due to gaslighting from a male member of staff who I think was a manager. My son has just turned one and can’t walk yet. I saw the baby area on lots of recent pictures online and knew he would love it. When I arrived we payed full price (£12.95 for my baby and £5.25 for 1 adult), I was fine paying this to use a baby area. However when I had a look around I couldn’t find the baby area that I had seen in pictures. I asked at the desk and was told it had been changed recently to an under 4’s area which meant that there was literally nothing my baby could independently (under supervision) play with. He tried to climb up the ramps but he got upset that he couldn’t which was really sad. The only area he could have played in had 2 large screens showing overstimulating cartoons (world health organisation recommends no screen time for under twos). The sensory area was just a room with wall to wall flashing lights - again so overstimulating for a baby. He crawled through the tunnel and down the slide on my knee but was done with it all in about 20mins. The male staff member attempted to show me how my baby could play in an area for 4 year olds. I explained that this wasn’t the baby area I saw online and asked if I could be refunded to pay the £3.95 under one’s price since there wasn’t actually a baby area anymore. The staff member refused. Then his exact words were ‘I think he can do it’ I was shocked at his audacity to comment on my baby’s abilities. I made this clear however did not once raise my voice. The member of staff then completely gaslit me and denied that he said those words. He kept rephrasing and trying to tell me he didn’t say it. He then said ‘this is getting out of hand’ which is another way to gaslight women into thinking they are overreacting to a situation. (Perfectly reasonable response to be upset about being lied to and gaslit at a soft play!). He ended it with ‘I’m sorry if it came across that way’ which is a gaslighting phrase again. No apology for what he actually said or admission that he lied about what he said. So not a good experience which is such a shame as this was my baby’s first soft play. Going forward I would recommend further training so that staff members can recognise toxic and gaslighting behaviours in themselves and not project this onto customers. It would also be helpful to clarify on the website and entrance that there is no longer a baby area for pre walkers.
Zoe — Google review
From the outside, it looks enormous but, once your inside its no bigger than any other soft play. The best part is they control how many people can enter so it isn't as busy as some. But we've visited better places. It was clean, tidy and the food was a bonus catering for allergens.
Caitin W — Google review
Had a really enjoyable time here this afternoon. The kids were kept happy even my 15 year old which isnt easy! Its lively and popular the food prices were really reasonable which is rare these days, I think for this reason the the wait for pizza was a fair bit so order early. We ordered an hour in and got it 30 mins before leaving which was fine but any later and we may have struggled. Only complaint is the drink prices were abit high nearly £4.00 for a coffee and it wasnt even costa sizes. £4.00 per pepsi. Other than that it was absolute value for money. We wouldnt hesitate to visit again
Anne-Marie C — Google review
PLAY FACTORE WHERE BIRTHDAYS COME TO DIE!! AVOID!! I’d like to share my utter disappointment after our recent visit to Play Factore. We spent over £300 on food and drinks celebrating our child’s birthday and yet weren’t allowed to take a five-second photograph of the birthday cake. Apparently, that’s against “policy.” The floor manager, Aidan, was the picture of unhelpfulness. He mumbled something about allergies (in a venue that literally serves food!) and hid behind “rules” instead of showing even a flicker of common sense or basic humanity. We’d already agreed not to cut or eat the cake we just wanted one quick photo of the children around it before putting it straight back in the box. But no. Rules are rules, even when they make absolutely no sense. He told us we could take a photograph in the waiting area were all children wait to go into the play factor so that just doesn’t make any sense if It’s about allergies.?? It’s amazing how someone in such a tiny position of authority can make families feel so unwelcome. Power clearly goes straight to some people’s heads. I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who has to work under management that rewards that kind of behaviour. If a company can’t allow parents five seconds to capture their child’s birthday moment, it says everything you need to know about their priorities and none of it’s good. We won’t be returning, and I’ll be making sure everyone I know avoids this place too.

Queens Park is a Green Flag park with an interesting history. It was established after the estate of a wealthy local merchant, Martin J. Newhouse, was donated back to Heywood by Queen Victoria in 1873. The town used the funds to create a beautiful park on the sloping grounds near River Roch. The park offers plenty of play equipment for children, including a pirate ship climbing frame and swings near the cafe, as well as a toddler area and exercise apparatus for adults.
Good little park with plenty to do for kids with the play areas on show practically on entry with a small shop allowing you to get refreshments on a warm day. If your more inclined to do a spot of bird watching, the boating lake is the place for you! You can easily spot geese, goslings, ducks, the occasional swan and herons if you look closely. They also have a bird feed dispenser which takes contactless payments, so, if you have children with you you can give into their demands and pressure and allow them to feed the ducks. If none of this interests you then its always a nice scenic place to go for a walk around a lake on a sunny day.

What a lovely park, with winding paths good for walking. It has a pretty lake, plenty of bench and green grass. There's a cafe and plenty of playground equipment. Great place for families, and being alone too!

First time visiting this park, and the kids loved it. Easy parking on the road outside, though Limited, but there is a car park a bit further down the road. Great park for the kids with pirate ship climbing frame, swings, and more. A toddler park also and exercise apparatus for adults. There is a train that takes you around the park for £2 each, which the kids loved. Picnic benches and even a stage for the kids to show their talent on. Also, a bike track for budding bike riders who want more than an easy strole. The park has a tea room which serves hot food and tea.All around a well-kept and great little park.

Very nice park. Exercise equipment and climbing rigs for all. Bowling green if that's for you. Two play parks for younger visitors. Nice large pond to walk round. Lovely little tea room with snacks, ice creams etc. Very clean and well looked after.

Queens park is my Grandsons favourite park. It has The best cafe ( dog friendly) selling everything from breakfasts to ice creams ( Mr whippy 😍) the Cafe provides toilet facilities at the back. 2 Playgrounds one just for the little ones aswell as outdoor gym equipment. A fabulous lake to walk around whilst feeding the ducks, ( tip, buy your duck food at the Cafe its cheaper than the machine by the lake and you get more). If you don't fancy eating in the Cafe then get a takeaway, there's a huge field with a purpose built concrete all weather stage where the children can perform for you till their hearts content while you sit at a picnic table and enjoy your lunch. There are Tennis courts and a fabulous bowling green with benches all the way round to leisurely sit and enjoy the beautifully kept Gardens.

Fantastic time here today with our little lab puppy. Excellent park for a dog to play and exercise. Plenty of other dogs to play with and even a duck pond. Out puppy enjoyed chasing ducks and pigeons. On a downside I find cafe staff very slow. Hot chocolate was average. Toasties took over 15 min to make. Two play grounds for smaller and bigger kids.

Small park but with many activities and services you want for spend a day outdoor with your children or friends. It includes a bowl pitch, 2 tennis courts, 1 basketball pitch and 2 playgrounds for kids. If you need to eat something or want to enjoy just a warm drink, there is a lovely café inside close to one of the playgrounds where you can sit in or take your food and drink to the benches just outside. There is also a small but interesting pond with ducks and fishes even if the latest are hard to see. Overall, a cozy park ideal for picnics, physical activities, activities with children or for having a relaxing time.

This is a lovely park, well laid out and well kept. There’s a bandstand and large viewing area, and lots of interesting features. The range of tree species is impressive. The park takes in a woodland area running both sides of a nearby stream. This can be muddy in wet weather, but is a lovely addition to the park. There’s a nice little cafe - Java - in the park too, with a good range of food and drink at really reasonable prices. Hyde Park hosts a parkrun every Saturday morning starting at 9.00am.

The most beautiful autumn colored leaves and trees. Loved the perfectly mowed down grass. A very good play area for kids. The best we’ve seen near Ashton far. Wish there was someone to pick up the trash though. It’s a beautiful place but people have littered it with takeaway wrappers and paper.

Having lived locally, I spent many school holidays here as a child. I think it had a bit of a lul for a long time in between but can only say it seems to have been revamped and refreshed recently. The park is clean and tidy, a lot of the paths in the woods have been scraped back rather than being extremely boggy. A decent kids play area, with slides, swings and climbing equipment. There is a caged tarmac football pitch and tennis courts too. A lovely little cafe, offering everything from hot/cold drinks, breakfast options, sandwiches, sweet treats and more.

Took a five year old. Playground adequate to keep him entertained... just. Only part of the playground is fenced in which is annoying as it means having to follow your child each time they leave the fenced area. Why not fence the whole area?

The Chorlton Park in Machester is another park for Sarukara goers. As compared with parks, this park occupies bigger acres amongst others. The Cholton Park has the park facilties and playground which are for kids, such as the swings, slide, climbing net and ..... On Sunday, families will have their gathering picnics in the park while their kids are running around the trails with their siblings or friends. Also, people will like to have walk dogs and let their pets fervenly run to and fro for the catching ball game. 9When tired, people can sit on the benches and enjoy the beauty of Cherry Blossoms in rows. But the species of the Cherry Blossoms are limted to white and pinky colours. Stocks of Cherry Blossoms are in few. Yes, it is a good place with family members to spend a holiday in a park.

My little girl loved it here today. We could get drinks and snacks and sit happily while being able to see our daughter play safe in our view. Although the go-karts arnt here now witch was abit of a downer but definitely wouldn't put us off coming back. So much space for the kids to have fun, and great seating for parents. Toilets and changing room. Very clean place. We'll be back thank you.

With it being half term, the usual soft play area we were to go to was fully booked so opted for this one with it being quite close. I wish we had found out about it sooner! Our 6yr old loved it. Big indoor play area for older kids as well as a little one for the under 4s, friendly staff and food was above expectations (bistro quality salt and pepper fries ordered). The place was clean, even while we were there, the staff swept around the tables. As an addition, we’d asked about the meat being halal and they confirmed it was. Great time all around, we’ll definitely be back.

Great place. Went with my 18 month old, it was about £9 for both of us. Great area for toddlers with climbing circuit, slides and ball pit. Big bit for older kids which looks great. They did bubble time and dancing at 11. Staff really nice and it was really clean. Will definitely come again!

Great fun for the children, a lovely sensory room too. Plus an outdoor play area as an added bonus. Friendly helpful staff! The food from the cafe was very enjoyable, though the chicken nuggets my daughter had were 'very' greasy. Disabled toilets aswell as baby changing facilities too. My daughter who is 8 year old has autism, she enjoyed her visit here😊 please consider changing facilities for older children who are still in pads, this would be so much appreciated by myself and many more I'm sure. A positive experience and would go again. Thanks..

Clean and big but vastly over priced @£9+ for a 3yr old. The 'Toddler Town' area for 0-3,yes is tiny and made even more so due to Mum's sat talking in the area. The carousel and advertised go carts don't work either. Disappointing overall. Perhaps best for older children but still expensive for what you get!
Gillian — Google review
Good price, a little dated but it's priced accoridngly. Great for kids to pass time, they really enjoyed it. They don't have session time limits when not busy so that's a huge bonus when compared to other soft plays.

My 3 year old loved it here. They have a 0-3 safe small area. And a 3+ big area! A huge climbing frame! With lots of slides. The go cart is an extra £1. And yet to be able to go in the sensory room. Despite some maintenance issues like leaks during rainy days, it offers a fun experience for kids with plenty to do. The center has a relaxed community vibe and is suitable for hosting children's birthday parties.
Fantastic. A nice little play centre for the kids. Food is very nice too and decent portions. We came when it was quite busy, so was quiet manic, once kids go and it's quieter it's actually quiet nice and peaceful. Will be back again.
Irina K — Google review
Good facilities for the kids but I won't be returning. They cap a visit at 2 hours before you need to pay again and we're very reluctant to let me and 2 kids leave and come back when picking up my partner from 5 miles down the road. They let me, but under duress it seemed. They also didnt tell me of the 2 hour limit till I tried to leave. Oh, and nobody seemed to have checked the toilets in a while. The hygeine board was untouched and the cubicle in the men's was insecure, with a broken catch for the bolt. Not ideal.
Iain N — Google review
Honestly,it's rather small and I didn't feel £10 for 2 children under 6 represented good value, but hey ho. The mats felt a tad thin and had visible signs of wear in them ,the slide wasn't great but the kids got a runaround. The receptionist attitude was utterly disgusting, she couldn't bring herself to offer a greeting when we got there, she didn't say thank you when we were leaving -basic customer.(and trying to get a drink-do I have exact change because they had cashed up at 5:51pm( Finally on the negatives there was a smell, not powerful but lingering. It's a shame as they have an area for parties,2 screens with console pads' connected too i and the rest that would make it a great centre...but it's a tired centre in short.Definetely wouldn't recommend nor will I be going back.

A nice soft play area. It's not too big as other places, but it's neat and clean, it also wasn't too crowded when we visited which is good. The food is nice with a good variety, and the people there are helpful. It's also Covid safe as the tables are kept apart and are disenfected between uses, there are also a lot of hand sanitizer stations around the place. Everyone there is wearing masks as well. A good experience and I'd love to go again.

Yes, it’s not brand spanking new and state of the art, but the kids don’t care. It’s clean and the food is AMAZING. Best soft play for food. The toasties are just so tasty. Had two birthday parties here as well, and everyone compliments the food quality and quantity.
Rachel R — Google review
Writing this review based on staff attitude *alone*. Rarely have I been to a place with such poor customer service. During my visit today I went to the counter to order some drinks for my children. We don't buy food here any more as I begrudge spending too much money here after previous bad experiences. I stood at the counter. The staff member who served me didn't say *a word* she just stood there staring at me. So I said what I wanted. She then rang it up on the till, didn't tell me the total just held the card machine out in front of me. Literally didn't speak *a word* to me during the whole exchange just looked at me rather unpleasantly I felt. I assume the staff must be family members and this must be a family business as I can't imagine hiring someone with such poor customer service skills to work front of house serving people. The people who work here seem to enjoy making their customers feel uncomfortable. It's a very strange atmosphere. We only come here because it's a local soft play and small enough my various aged children can play near each other without having to be split up the way they are in some of the large soft plays in the Manchester area. It's getting to the stage however where I'm going to begrudge even buying drinks here with the horrible attitude I'm receiving when doing so... why this company don't want to make more money by sorting themselves out I don't know. Your customers are the ones who pay your wages. If you don't have any customers you don't have a business.
S D — Google review
First impressions of reception staff were not so good. Very cold and not so welcoming as you would expect from a children's soft play. Inside the floors were very sticky and toilets not so clean. The actual soft play was okay at best, on the small side. Kids were enjoying it until we all smelt wee on the mats everyone was crawling on. To end on a better note the food was alright, their cakes are pretty nice but I will not be taking the family there again and would not recommend

SuzySeyz # — Google review
The contentious drink was first invented in 1908 by an herbalist John Noel Nichols who was looking to gain a foothold in the soft drink market that he foresaw as a product of the temperance movement. Originally marketed as a medicinal tonic jauntily known as "Vim Tonic" which was eventually shortened to the current "Vimto." The drink was made of a mix of fruits and herbs that gave it a distinctly medicinal tang. By 1913 the drink was reclassified as a soft drink beginning a small but loyal commercial following. The drink continued to be a popular seller in the British territories but never traveling far from its birthplace, save for a strong customer base in the Arabian Peninsula. Vimto was responsible for a couple of popular marketing mascots during the 1990s but maybe the most lasting legacy to the drink is the wooden "A Monument to Vimto" in Manchester. Installed in 1992 the oversized monument consists of a giant Vimto bottle surrounded at its base by outsized versions of some of the fruits and herbs used in the drink's production, all carved out of sustainable wood. The monument became a popular pilgrimage site, and was refurbished in 2011, giving it a bright new paint job. The monument sits on the spot where Vimto was first manufactured, although now it is on a college campus.
