Kaisaniemi Park, also known as Kaisaniemen puisto in Finnish and Kajsaniemiparken in Swedish, is a serene urban oasis located at the heart of Helsinki. This historic park features a botanical garden, a 19th-century greenhouse, fountains, and sports fields. It is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike who seek respite from the bustling city life. The park's expansive green spaces provide ample room for leisure activities and outdoor events.
Small, extremely well kept historic Botanic. I kept being surprised at the combinations of plantings. A great free experience. The garden open from 9:00 until 20:00.
Lorna D — Google review
Kasianiemi Park is a large, central park in Helsinki. Unfortunately there are a lot of areas that need improvement and some locations seemed abandoned. On the bright side, there are a lot of green areas, plenty walking and biking paths, and a small playground for children.
Liviu-Cristian M — Google review
Beautiful garden, great place to have a walk. The greenhouse looks gorgeous and maesthetic.
Reelika E — Google review
Underrated gem! Not sure about the 'underrated' part, but certainly a gem in the middle of the city. Easy access and enough space with variety of flowers which cannot be seen in Helsinki and in Finland most of the times.
Tharindu W — Google review
Excellent park for city dwellers. Have lived in Kamppi for many years but it was my first time to walk into this park.
Ka C — Google review
A green oasis in the hot city (and a warm one in the winter if you visit the hothouses). Mid summer displays also hundreds of butterflies and bees swarming in the flowers. The cafeteria offers lunch, cakes, coffees and wine, the terazza sunshine and shade, whichever you prefer. Free entrance to the park, to visit the hothouses you need a ticket.
Pike V — Google review
This park backs onto the Botanic garden and is a lovely inner city small park for walking the dog or riding a bike or a quiet sit and a play spot for children
A B — Google review
Great Park, but they are making improvements to it so parts are closed and there is construction.

Park
Sibelius Park, also known as Sibeliusmonumentet, is a picturesque urban seaside park located in the Toolo district of Helsinki. The park is named after the renowned Finnish composer Jean Sibelius and features an English-style landscape garden with a variety of attractions. One of its main highlights is the famous Sibelius Monument, designed by Eila Hiltunen in memory of the composer.
Beautiful park with an amazing metal structure. We went in winter and it was very cold but the scenery was espectacular. You can get there on the bus, then from the bus stop you have to walk approximately 20 minutes. But the walk is worth it.
Julito R — Google review
There are two playgrounds in the park that look lovely, so this would be a great choice if you have young children. It is about a 30 minute bus ride from downtown Helsinki. No cafes near by and I didn't see any public restrooms.
Elise M — Google review
Just stunning!! The centerpiece of this park dedicated to Finland‘s most famous composer is the art sculpture that weighs more than 24 tons. It’s simply gorgeous from any angle. We walked from near Stockmann Department Store, but it’s easy to reach by Uber or bus. Not sure about trams. Definitely a must see in Helsinki.
Pam G — Google review
Sibelius Park is where music, nature and city life meet. The steel monument rises like frozen organ pipes by the sea, while ponds, pines and yachts create a calm setting. Benches, a playground, an ice cream stand and even toilets make it a perfect stop to rest and feel Helsinki’s rhythm
Carmen — Google review
Sibelius Park is one of the most beautiful and inspiring places to visit in Helsinki. Located along the scenic coastline in the Töölö district, it perfectly combines cultural heritage with natural beauty. The park is most famous for the iconic Sibelius Monument, a stunning piece of art dedicated to Finland’s beloved composer Jean Sibelius. Made of hundreds of steel pipes, the monument is both impressive and moving, especially when the wind creates soft tones through it. Beyond the monument, the park itself is a wonderful green space filled with tall birch trees, open lawns, and peaceful walking paths that lead to the sea. The views of the water are breathtaking, and there are plenty of spots to sit and relax while enjoying the fresh air. It’s a popular place for both locals and tourists to picnic, read, or simply soak in the serene atmosphere. For those who enjoy a bit of activity, you can also rent kayaks or bikes nearby, which is a fantastic way to explore the coastline and surrounding areas. On a sunny day, paddling along the bay or cycling through the leafy paths makes for an unforgettable experience. Sibelius Park is more than just a park – it’s a place where nature, culture, and history come together. Whether you come to admire the monument, enjoy the sea breeze, or take a peaceful stroll, it’s a must-visit destination that truly reflects the spirit of Helsinki.
Kalina M — Google review
This city is full of history. To understand Finlands past this could be a starting point. Not forgetting it was home to one of the greatest Finnish music composers Sibelius. A day trip is worth it if not spending a night. Boat trip with lunch is also an option.
Neleah K — Google review
For a tourist in Helsinki, Sibelius Park is a "must visit" place. The park is actually more than just the famous monument; it is surprisingly big park where there in other end of the park is a fenced dog park, and there in the other end is a playground for children, and there in between some peaceful places to spend one's summer day. But Sibelius Monument is the issue. Full buses of tourists come there to admire the monument, to take pics and, of course, to take selfies. And I don't wonder why. I hadn't seen Sibelius Monument, I think, for decades, and I must say, I was surprised how impressive the monument really is, a true tribute for Finland's best known (and in my opinion the best) composer (ever).
Hannu T — Google review
Review: Sibelius Park – A Harmony of Art, Nature, and Tranquility by the Sea Sibelius Park in Helsinki is one of those places that quietly captivates you. Nestled in a peaceful urban area near the shoreline, it beautifully blends the serenity of nature with the artistic soul of the city. 🌲 Scenery and Atmosphere Winding paths, a playful fountain, and the salty sea breeze create a soothing ambiance. A small birch grove adds a touch of Nordic charm, especially when sunlight filters through the leaves. It’s the perfect spot for a leisurely walk, reading a book, or simply unwinding. 🎶 Tribute to Jean Sibelius The park’s centerpiece is the striking monument dedicated to Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, created by artist Eila Hiltunen. Composed of over 600 steel pipes, the sculpture evokes the spirit of Sibelius’s music in an abstract, poetic form. Nearby, a more traditional bust of the composer adds a personal and emotional touch. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 For All Visitors Sibelius Park is welcoming to families, tourists, locals, and even pets. There are gentle trails for children, open spaces for picnics, and benches for quiet reflection. Modern amenities, including accessibility features and contactless services, make the experience even more comfortable. --- 🔚 Final Verdict Sibelius Park isn’t just a green space—it’s a cultural and sensory experience. If you’re visiting Helsinki, it’s well worth a stop to feel how music, nature, and art come together in a peaceful urban retreat.

The Seurasaari Open-Air Museum in Helsinki offers a unique opportunity to experience traditional Finnish rural life. Situated on a picturesque island, the museum features over 80 historic buildings including cottages, farmsteads, churches, and manors from different regions of Finland. Visitors can explore the interiors of these well-preserved structures and witness craftsmen at work during the warm season. The museum also hosts events and celebrations during holidays such as Easter and Christmas.
Well worth a visit as a day trip. this place is fabulous! Houses and buildings from around Finland from many different historical eras. Curated so well giving context to how people lived during those times. They were guides at some of the larger places who had excellent knowledge of the buildings, people who lived in them. All of this set and a great natural setting .
Peter J — Google review
Such a beautiful and peaceful place, I'm so sad I didn't have time to visit it fully (had a plane to catch). Will definitely come back and take more time to visit (90-120 mins recommended for a real experience). Most of the actors there are friendly and helpful for explanations. Note that you can access the island for free and see the buildings from the outside, but I'd recommend paying the 13€ fee to see the interiors.
Gio — Google review
It's a very cute island, and the staff members are very passionate and knowledgeable about Finnish culture and architecture, they also dress up as historic characters of the period. By the way, you only need a ticket of you want to visit the inside of the houses, otherwise you can walk around the island for free and see the exterior for free. If you want to buy the ticket, it's cheaper to buy it online in advance. It's a bit difficult to get there, only bus 24, which is every 30 minutes, otherwise, it takes 10-15 mins to walk through the forest through to the main road, which is relatively flat and easy to walk and follow.
C — Google review
It was €12 per adult and you pay at the entrance. Highly recommend if you want to kill a few hours. Dozens of different buildings and interactive exhibits to see. The walking trails are well maintained and there’s a cafe and gift shop within the park. To get there, cross the white pedestrian bridge from the parking lot.
William B — Google review
Lovely half-day experience to escape the city and learn about the history and culture of Finland. Definitely worth a visit and make sure to join a guided tour, they really help bring the park to life.
Sofie — Google review
Well worth a visit. Interesting history and friendly staff. Beautiful park. If you are just looking for a nice walk (not to enter any of the buildings) you can also go into the park for free. The entry fee only needs to be paid if you want to enter certain areas (such as the buildings and some gardens).
Ilse B — Google review
Great open air museum. We spent the afternoon walking around the island. The buildings close at 5pm but you can still wander after they are closed. You can buy the Helsinki city tickets which cover the bus and the museum plus lots of other sightseeing admissions.
Brianne I — Google review
A nice place to walk around. Will get chances to see cute squirrels and beautiful birds. No need for ticket if you don’t plan to go inside the old buildings.

The Art Museum Ateneum is a grand 19th-century museum that showcases an extensive collection of Finnish art from the 1700s onwards, as well as international pieces. Housed in one of Helsinki's most beautiful historic buildings, it is part of the Finnish National Gallery and features thousands of works by renowned Finnish artists such as Akseli Gallen-Kallela, the von Wright brothers, and Alvar Aalto.
Stunning pieces of work are housed here. I really enjoyed the section on Finnish artists and the array of beautiful landscape art pieces. We spent around 2-3 hours there, definitely plenty of art to sink your teeth into!
Katie W — Google review
Ateneum offers a beautiful collection of Finnish art in a stunning historic building. The exhibits are well-curated and inspiring. It was not crowded at all. There is a kid’s corner where they can draw portraits and self portraits. Fun experience! Definitely recommend it!
Valentina M — Google review
Really great museum with interesting work and great exhibition design. Some fun interactive things too! Tickets are slightly cheaper if you buy online rather than in person, but the museum has free wifi, so you can easily do it there if you don’t want to plan ahead.
Maia O — Google review
I visited once and was impressed how well was all ordered, by styles, and how different and great art pieces this place offers. Also a very well ordered store with thematic art merchandise, books and souvenirs. The museum itself is a work of art!
Aries W — Google review
Very lucky to visit this museum during the Klimt exhibition. It's not a big museum, but definitely they do collect and exhibit top quality artworks. It's conveniently located across the central station and accessible by several tram lines.
World E — Google review
Visited the museum during the weekend and around lunch time. It was empty with no wait time and minimal amounts of people inside. Plenty of time to look and appreciate all of the artwork without being hassles by crowds. Would advise to buy tickets online as there is a discount vs in person.
John D — Google review
The way this museum presents its collection is truly unique! You can scan the barcodes and listen to short recordings about certain pieces. There is a studio where you can draw yourself and pin it to the wall. I spent almost two hours more than I planned!

Went in to see the painter Klimt and Vienna painters exhibition - good. The other parts of the museum were not too bad. Again they can make it clearer to get started from the right place.....

Monument
Sculpture
The Sibelius Monument, located in the heart of Sibelius Park in Helsinki, Finland, is a striking tribute to the renowned Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Designed by artist Eila Hiltunen and unveiled in 1967, the monument features over 600 steel pipes emerging from natural rock to create a wave-like structure symbolizing Sibelius's music. This unique sculpture not only captures the essence of Sibelius's musical legacy but also produces captivating sounds.
The Sibelius Monument is a really cool and unique tribute to Finland’s beloved composer, Jean Sibelius. The sculpture looks to be configured in the formation of giant organ pipes, which seem to float in the air like a metallic tree-blending music, art, and nature. When I visited, there was a short line for photos and not a large crowd, thankfully. A few peaceful protestors were there, but they were pretty far off and quiet, so it was hard to comprehend what they were protesting for. The surrounding park is also a beautiful place to walk and take in the scenery by the water. I highly recommend stopping by to get a few pictures!
How L — Google review
The Sibelius Monument is one of the most iconic sights in Helsinki, and definitely worth a visit. Set in a peaceful park, the striking sculpture made of hundreds of steel pipes captures both the spirit of music and the legacy of Finland’s most famous composer. It feels almost like an organ rising out of the rocks. The area around is calm, with trees, walking paths, and benches where you can sit and enjoy the atmosphere. There’s also a smaller bust of Sibelius nearby, which adds a personal touch to the monument. Great spot for photos, especially when the sunlight reflects on the metal pipes. Easily reachable from the city center by tram or bus, and a nice place to take a short walk while enjoying Helsinki’s nature and culture at the same time.
Christos I — Google review
We visited Helsinki and this monument on a guided tour from a P&O cruise ship. The place, like Helsinki, was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Our guide made the experience come alive and I would recommend visiting.
Mr S — Google review
This is a very impressive artwork that you can feel the power and energy from different angles. The foileag in the background match perfectly to this iconic landmark.
World E — Google review
Eila Hiltunen was the Artist, the year was 1967 and the Location is in Toolo, Helsinki, Finland. The Sibelius Monument was dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865–1957). The sculpture is titled Passio Musicae, which won a competition, organised by the Sibelius Society, following the composer's death in 1957. Hiltunen addressed her critics by adding the face of Sibelius which sits besides the main sculpture. It consists of series of more than 600 hollow steel pipes welded together in a wave-like pattern. The idea was to capture the essence of Sibelius's music. A nice retraction to behold, in this green and colorful park.
Neeru D — Google review
I did land here the weekend before wandering to the nearbyish island. The architecture is pretty awesome but there's not much else to do apart from in my experience get gawped at and photographed without my permission. If happening to be walking by then sure but I personally wouldn't go out my massive way to see it
Penny L — Google review
The Sibelius Monument is one of the most unique landmarks in Helsinki. The abstract design, with hundreds of steel pipes forming a wave-like structure, is both artistic and moving — a fitting tribute to Jean Sibelius and his music. The nearby bust of Sibelius adds a nice personal touch. Set in a peaceful park by the water, it’s a great place for photos, a quiet walk, or simply to admire the artistry. Definitely worth a visit if you’re exploring Helsinki’s cultural highlights.

Since its establishment in 1950, this park has seamlessly blended tradition with modernity, drawing millions of visitors annually. Had a great time at Linnanmäki! The atmosphere was lively and perfect for families. Plenty of fun rides for all ages, and everything was clean and well-organized. The view from the Panorama Tower was amazing, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Helsinki!

We had such a fun afternoon at the park, staying from 1 PM all the way until 9 PM because there was just so much to do! 🎢🎡 The attractions are fantastic, with a great mix for all ages—thrills for the adventurous and plenty of fun rides and activities for kids, too. The food was another highlight—tasty, fresh, and with lots of variety to keep everyone happy. Between the rides, the laughs, and the good food, the whole day just flew by. We left with big smiles and can’t wait to come back! 🌟

So far the most interesting palce i have been to. I visited on a fun fare day all ride ticket (iso-huppi) over an overcast and mildly tainy weekend. Then again i haven't been to an alusement park in ages. It's an interesting mix pf classic rides, a historical roller coaster and some extreme modern rides like swingi, kirnu and taiga. There is also a panoramic view ride that lets you see the city from a great height. There is a 'nostalgia' section with classical merry-go-round and other such old school attractions. There's a VR experience ride as well. And of course there are various carnival games as well as arcade games, including toy cranes. Unfortunately the first roller coaster was off limits due to bad weather. Due to the circumstances i had to go alone but i recommend taking a friend along. There's a healthy mix of rides for kids and adults of all ages and dispositions. Heads up: can't ride the ferris qheel unless you are a party of minimum two people.

Wow! What an incredible experience we had at this amusement park! It has so many exciting rides. We visited during the Halloween event, and it was absolutely amazing — everyone had a fantastic time. There’s a ride called Taiga, which is one of the best in Europe! This park is an absolute must-visit in Finland, and if you can time your visit with the Halloween event, it will be an unforgettable blast!

Visited this park during weekday and surprisingly it is still having lot of people. Probably due to summer holidays. Good selection of rides, clean and well maintained equipment and wide range of food selection. You need to consider kids age before visiting. Not found many rides under 5 years but it’s well worth for the younger ones and kids more than 6 years.

You can enter the premises for free, and take in the sights and walk around even if you aren't wanting to do any rides at first. If you change your mind at any time, it's extremely easy to buy tickets, either online, at the ticket booths, or in the little eateries dotting the park, as they're all able to offer you tickets. When we went, we ended up going with the 6 tickets bundle for 53€, as we were two people and were interested in three of the rides. However, if you plan to do more rides and spend an entire day, then the wristband for all rides at 53€ might be a better fit. There were a lot of people but it never felt too overwhelming or crowded, and there are a lot of spaces to sit if you want to take a breather. Finally, and following the advice of a Finnish friend, I got one of the waffles, and I would absolutely recommend it ! It was fluffy with the edges just the nice side of crunchy, and it was a great way to top off the day ! :)

Very good place for all ages. Entry is free into the park and has 7 rides which are free for smaller kids. Highly recommend. Open very late and if entering with small kids - don’t use main entrance as free rides are on the other side Linnanmaki.

Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden, located in Helsinki near the city center, is a popular tourist attraction offering beautiful natural surroundings. The garden features glasshouses that recreate various environments such as deserts, rainforests, and tropical wetlands. These glasshouses are open to the public year-round and also host nature-themed exhibitions. While there is an extra fee to visit the greenhouse, strolling around the garden provides a delightful experience for nature lovers on a budget.
Beautiful botanical garden in the center of Helsinki. It's split into an exterior garden and several greenhouses. The staff is also working on an exhibition area where they're bringing in plants estimated to grow in the Helsinki area in the future due to climate change. The exterior garden, packed with various plants, trees, and flowers, can be visited for free and is open for longer hours every day. The greenhouses can only be visited after purchasing a ticket. The visiting hours for the greenhouses are also shorter than the exterior garden. Overall it's a beautiful botanical garden. Our visit was very relaxing.
Liviu-Cristian M — Google review
We visited the botanical garden on a free entry day, and it was packed. It’s great that they offer free access, but with the summer heat and the greenhouse effect, it got uncomfortably hot with so many people around. It would be nice if they had more free days spread throughout the season so that everyone doesn’t end up coming at the same time. Also, while the garden is beautiful and well-maintained, the plant labels could be more informative. Just listing the scientific names in three languages isn’t very engaging. It would be more interesting if they added a few lines about each plant like why it’s part of the collection or what makes it special.

A delightful botanical gem that's particularly splendid on sunny days. The garden offers vibrant blooms and charming hidden corners that reward exploration, all whilst being conveniently accessible for visitors. Photography enthusiasts will find endless opportunities amongst the colourful displays—do bring extra memory cards! For extended visits, sun cream and water are advisable, as the garden's beauty tends to encourage longer stays than initially planned. Families planning to visit with young children may wish to keep a close eye on them, as little ones can be tempted to wander off paths or step on the flowers. A bit of extra supervision can help protect the area and ensure everyone enjoys their time. A thoroughly pleasant destination that offers both tranquil moments and delightful discoveries. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful escape into nature's splendour.

A peaceful corner where nature and history intertwine. The Victorian greenhouse looks like something straight out of a vintage sci-fi movie. Among the flowers, you might meet unexpected guests... like the elegant barnacle geese walking around with more style than a runway model. A perfect place to recharge your mind, take stunning photos, and maybe discover that Helsinki hides a tropical soul behind glass walls.
Marco Z — Google review
Lovely fairly quiet oasis of beauty in the centre of the city. Free entry but it is worth paying the 12€ fee for access to the greenhouse. There is an interesting collection of world plants with signage in English for all non finish visitors.
Trevor T — Google review
Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden is, to be sure, one of the most beautiful and loveliest places in Helsinki. As a young bird watcher I sometimes used to visit there. Especially in autumn the botanic garden was - and still is - a good place to look for interesting birds. But Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden is much more than a bird watching park. In summer time flower beds are glowing in all colours, and when the end of summer comes all colours start to explode. Entrance to the greenhouses of Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden costs 12 euro but it's worth of it. Plants there are from all over the world and the collection is huge. My warm recommendations.

I liked this place. Second time I’m here. It was late in season but sunny and nice day in this well managed botanical garden.

This museum is a many-room greenhouse with the excellent selection of plants from throughout the world. Interestingly, you can find also tropical fruits on the trees. For selected plants, you can also see interesting facts about their life at the tables below them. The staff is very friendly and open if you have any questions.

The Helsinki Winter Garden is a 19th-century glass greenhouse located in the Zoo area north of Toolonlahti Bay. It is open to the public and showcases over 200 different plants, including palms, cacti, flowers, pines, limes, magnolias, and camellias. Visitors can also admire parrots and carp in a pond within the garden.
I absolutely loved Helsinki Winter Garden! It’s an inspiring place, and when the sun is shining, it’s even more enjoyable. There are plenty of spots to sit, relax, or even get some work done. Visiting on weekdays is especially nice since it’s quiet and peaceful. The variety of plants is fascinating🌿I’m really in love with this place!

Nice garden! Didn't get to see inside the greenhouse but I wish I had time to. I was just to late in the evening. But nice to have a stroll through the Rose Garden and chill in the shade
Kjetil B — Google review
Amazing place to visit and spend time, both in winter and during the summer. You can enjoy the sun on one of the benches next to the alley or experience tropical climate inside the green house, sit down and have a snack. The place is also perfect for photo sessions, both indoor and outdoor, any season. It’s never too crowded here
Olha K — Google review
When I was tired of the cold weather in Helsinki, I was able to rest my body warmly and look at various plants in the greenhouse. Although the interior was small, there were tables and chairs to sit everywhere. However, in the afternoon, the seats were already full, and most of them were Finnish. There are neither cafes nor restaurants nearby, but seeing what everyone is eating, it seems like they can bring food from home.

It's one glasshouse with free entrance and a garden outside, mostly composed of different varieties of roses. Inside there is a more tropical central room with a fish pond and two side rooms with one being desert plants. Very nice atmosphere and a great place to visit if you love plants. Supposed to be open all year, but often closed for maintenance.

Tidy place with many different plants. Especially impressive part with cactuses and huge "house plants". Also, there is a beautiful pond with koi fishes and multiple places with tables where you can spend some time in quiet and admire flowers

Cozy small little green house with lots of plants and cactuses. There are some flowers too. Some are particularly beautiful and some are unique. Visited with friends and had a wonderful time! There were even tank tables and chairs for people to take a seat. Unfortunately, the rose garden is closed today. It was a beautiful garden looking from afar. We were surprised that there was a jewellery exhibition too. They were unique and colorful, also meaningful!

Haaga Rhododendron Park, also known as Haagan Alppiruusupuisto, is a public park located in Helsinki's Haaga district. The park features thousands of rhododendrons and azaleas nestled among towering pine trees, with pathways and viewing platforms for visitors to enjoy the stunning flora. It serves as both a public park and a university research garden, offering a wide range of evergreen rhododendron varieties.
20 June 2025 Popped in yesterday on a warm day. The rain from the day before seems to have changed things a bit, but it's still a beautiful spot. Noticed lots more green areas that made for nice photo opportunities. There's quite a variety of mosses to have a look at if you're into that sort of thing. Plenty more bumble bees about too, which was lovely to see. Had another good day out there. Always something different to discover each time I visit. Worth a visit if you enjoy nature walks. ------- Lovely Nature Spot A charming nature trail with vibrant, colorful flowers and abundant wildlife including squirrels, birds, and fascinating insects. The lush greenery creates a peaceful atmosphere perfect for families and nature photography. Great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Just watch out for the multiple trail intersections - it's easy to get turned around.

Haaga Rhododendron Park – A Blooming Paradise 🤩 Visited Haaga Rhododendron Park today (25th May ) and it was absolutely magical. The flowers were in full bloom, painting the park in stunning shades of pink, purple, and white. Peaceful walkways, fresh air, and nature at its best. A perfect spot to relax, click photos, and soak in spring's beauty. Highly recommended!
Nitin C — Google review
This park is a beautiful and colorful place, especially when the flowers are in full bloom. The scenery is absolutely stunning, with vibrant rhododendrons creating a peaceful atmosphere for a walk. Although it was quite crowded, it was still possible to enjoy a calm and relaxing walk through the park. There are also a few small spots nearby to grab something to eat or drink, which is nice after a stroll. The only downside was parking – it was very difficult to find a spot, especially on a busy day like this. I’d recommend taking public transport if possible. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to visit during blooming season and definitely worth seeing at least once!
Rajitha C — Google review
This park is a hidden gem in Helsinki, especially magical during early June when thousands of rhododendrons and azaleas burst into vibrant bloom. Located near Huopalahti station, it’s easy to reach and free to enter. Wooden walkways and gravel paths guide you through lush floral tunnels beneath tall pines, making it ideal for a peaceful walk or photo session. While peak bloom lasts only a few weeks, the forested park offers a serene escape year-round. A must-visit for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone seeking a quiet green retreat in the city.
Fahamina Z — Google review
Beautiful and calm place especially during summer and spring. Plenty of flowers and there are tracks which can guide you. It's also the site of Helsinki university so they have been taking care of it. Street parking is available right Infront.
Kashif N — Google review
Went to Haagan Alppiruusupuisto today (early June). Wow. Just wow. If you hit it right when the rhodies are in full bloom, it's insane. Huge bushes exploding with pink, purple, white, red flowers everywhere you look. Felt like walking through a giant, colourful tunnel in parts. Really unique for Helsinki. It's not a huge park, more like a long, dense stretch along a path, but packed with flowers. Smells amazing too on a warm day. Totally free, easy to get to by bus or tram. The downside aboit is that It gets packed when the blooms peak. Like, seriously crowded on a sunny weekend. And the bloom window is short miss it by a week or two and it's just green bushes. If the rhododendrons are blooming, It's a spectacular, almost overwhelming display. Just try for an early morning or weekday if you can to dodge the biggest crowds. A real hidden gem for those few weeks.
Mana S — Google review
How have I lived here nearly 20 years and not known this is here?😂 Absolutely beautiful! All the bushes are blooming, the birds are singing and the air is filled with the scent of flowers. A lovely place for a walk in summer and today, at least, there were lots of people selling ice cream, sausages snd other types of street food to enjoy. LOTS of people though, and all of them of course stopping to take photos so a bit of queueing walking round the wooden walkways. But that didn't detract from the overall peaceful feeling of the place. Thoroughly recommend a visit if you're here when the rhododendrons are in bloom!
Huulipunasissi — Google review

What a beautiful park. We passed through the park on our way to dinner, early evening, the sun was just going down and all of the locals were sitting on the top of the hill taking in the last bit of sunshine for the day, it was lovely! Alppipuisto, also known as Alpine Park, is a picturesque parkland located near Linnanmaki Entertainment Park in Helsinki. The idea for the park originated in the 1850s and it features an observation deck, a fountain pond, and an open-air amphitheater. The park offers a serene escape from the city with its beautiful flowers, greenery, and peaceful atmosphere. It hosts an annual jazz festival and other events throughout the year.
Visited on May 5th — the park was quiet, peaceful, and had only a few people around. It’s a hidden gem within the city, in my opinion. The cherry trees were in full bloom, creating a stunning and serene atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for a picnic or to spend quality time with someone.

There is a wonderful park in the very centre of Helsinki...... Some people call it "grandmother's vegetable garden"....... It is so beautiful in its simplicity that it seems as if you have returned to your childhood........ All these wildflowers make you feel like you are far away from the city..... in a field... or in a meadow..... A little later, in July, sunflowers and other "attributes" of country nature will appear........ In the meantime, let's enjoy the daisies. By the way, there are several sports grounds for both children and adults. There are a lot of benches and sun beds for rest and sunbathing. Now closed restaurant Kaivohuone, with its almost 200 years history, is legendary, and so are yearly May Day parties when hordes of students with their white graduation caps use to conquer Kaivopuisto - until the police empties the park.

This university's administration still refuses to adopt an academic boycott of a self-avowed ethno-supremacist, genocidal state that recently declared unjustified war against another nation, all despite many academic employees presenting them with a petition to do so. Old Church Park, also known as Ruttopuisto or "Plague Park," is a charming green space nestled in the heart of Helsinki. This compact park is steeped in history, surrounding an 1800s Evangelical Lutheran church and featuring gravestones that date back to the 19th century.
This park is located near the St. George Hotel. I enjoyed walking around and watching the birds. The birds are not at all afraid of people, so you can get close to them. I also walked into the old church located on the park grounds. I noticed a casket inside and decided to retreat, so I don't have any photos from inside. The park has big, beautiful trees and benches to rest on.

A beautiful park in the city center even on a rainy day. There is a small playground for younger children and some historical monuments. Beautiful flowering trees in late spring! The first picture is a monument to those killed by plague in 1708. On today’s visit it was raining but that did not deter a Finnish preschool from having their toddlers play in the park 😁🇫🇮

This cemetery has been changed into a park. It is dotted with gravestones and memorials. During the 1710 plague, victims were buried here. There were lots of benches around the park. The paths were wide and hard surfaced. They were suitable for a wheelchair.

Small city park with some play areas and seating areas. This is a nice little bit of green in the city that one can relax and just enjoy the weather (when it is actually nice out and not raining or too cold) there were many people out and about when we walked through.

Sipoonkorpi National Park is a serene escape from the bustling city life, offering dense forests, tranquil waterways, and abundant opportunities for outdoor activities. The park is surrounded by picturesque green fields and charming villages, providing a perfect setting for picking wild mushrooms and berries. In winter, dedicated ski tracks are prepared for visitors to enjoy. The natural landscapes are home to diverse wildlife, with gentle rivers meandering through the woodlands.
We went to this national park and got a lot of impressions. The nature is beautiful and the people are simply the best, everyone is healthy and very respectful. I regret that I spent more than 86 hours in this place after the ‘wrong turn’ and could not find my way out of the forest when we only had two candies and a vape, but we survived the experience and want to return in the winter.

(Translated by Google) Great place, an impossible amount of trails, especially if you try to stay on the outdoor trail. But it's a great place and it's possible to experience at least two nature trails: the herpi trail - Finland's only reptile and amphibian trail and the forest nature trail - the first is marked with a green and the second with a spruce on a red background. There are also fireplaces, this time we didn't use them. We accumulated a good 10 kilometers to go around the whole of Uutela. There is also history, for example Rudträsk is a former lake that has been drained. The other is the ruins of the land front from the 1st World War. The Hop-On Hop-Off City Tour in Helsinki is a convenient way to explore the city's architecture and attractions. The buses make a 90-minute round trip, stopping at 19 different points of interest. With tickets available for 24 or 48 hours, visitors can freely use the buses during this time to see various parts of the city. While some found the audio commentary quiet, it still provided an informative tour of Helsinki's main sights.
Situated near the tourist office and senate square/Helsinki cathedral. €30 each is the going rate, it's the same for Tallinn and other countries we've visited in Europe. A couple of stops were outside the cruise liners but it is what it is. Overall, free headphones, the audio was good. Used in conjunction with the boat tour (small price upgrade) of the small islands of which there are 100's. The boat tour was the highlight of our day and a separate review. The hop-on/off enables us to choose what we see although we completed the entire tour and walked everywhere we wanted to see.
Gaz D — Google review
Really needs a work over on their Web page & ease of finding clear information. Maybe in the translation to English but I don't think so. There last weekend & Hop On Hop Off not working just a single sight seeing bus doing a 90min loop. Think might start in April. Also the associated boat trip is also not running in March. Tickets can be bought on line or from bus driver (our driver was great) or is covered in Helsiki Tourist pass. The trip around was good providing good coverage of the city for the harbour, the beach, rock church, famous architecture, The Olympic precinct & historic centre. Some confusion on pre-recorded commentary as didn't start until after bus was underwater, then was on different channels to that indicated on the bus. Otherwise tour was good. Free wifi on bus & it is OK but not great.
Peter E — Google review
I accidently got a fly about Helsinki City Pass (application) at this address and bought a pass for 48h with only 55euro. Many free activities or discounts, inclucding this tour by bus. Recommended to go on weekdays instead of weekends for less delay with traffic or events. Earphone is given when u get on the bus. Find a seat and plug the earphone to the device above. There are buttons for chanels (different languages) and volumn. The audio is good, but I ended up having 2 tours on 2 different days, one is without the audio to just enjoy the view.
Trần T — Google review
Over priced & not necessary. Unless you can’t walk, or need to see the sights of Helsinki in 90 mins, there’s no need to do this tour. Helsinki is a very walkable city and you’ll see & enjoy it much more on foot. On our hoho tour the driver took a shortcut, missed out the Olympic stadium and Botanic gardens completely. Take a walk instead, it’s kinder on you and your wallet.
Paul E — Google review
The Hop-On, Hop-Off City Tour itself was ok. There was a high-pressure sales to buy the “Helsinki City Pass”. We never used the pass for any of the free items listed, which made for a costly bus tour. The free items were either too far out of the city, not of interest, or closed. We would not recommend the city pass. Do your homework before arriving for the bus trip to see if the city pass will be of any advantage rather than being pressured into a quick sale.
Bruce — Google review
Helsinki is a small place and we were there for 3 days only. What better than a hop on hop off bus. Managed to see parts of the city which we wouldn't have normally.
Arup D — Google review
“Hop on hop off” is a nice way to get to know the big cities around the world. You get a nice overview of the city and are still flexible in moving off the tour and back on. We’ve done those tours in several different countries, but this one was extremely disappointing! They reduce the touring buses over during the winter months to only two per day. If you enter the tour and get off, you only have one more option at the end of the day to continue. This completely destroys the whole concept of hop on hop off. Unfortunately, we bought our tickets in the bus, we’re not informed about the much reduced tour schedule. The audio quality is bad and connection lost frequently during the tour. It was a total waste! If you have another option touring Helsinki, I would highly recommend to do that.
Paul A — Google review
Purchased the City Pass great value. Busses were easy to catch, and on time, narration was easy to hear and adjust. Really made my visit enjoyable. Short walking distance between stops. pick-up / drop-off points well marked. Maps were easy to read, Alm thr drivers and guides were very nice.

The boat is clean and comfortable, with both interior seating and an open deck. It's recommended to bring a windbreaker or jacket as it can get cool on the water.
It was sunny and windy day! Almost full boat to go! The trip was so wonderful, the tour guide / the speaker speak more than 3 languages so ut make us easier to know what island or history of the island we passed, many islands that I never knew before we passed through,. In my opinion, this is a must on summer! The ticket was 26e and they have bar inside, it's such a nice way to enjoy rhe trip with some drinks!

We pre booked an evening cruise with pizza. Our first introduction to Helsinki having arrived by ferry several hours earlier. We loved it. 1.5 hours of cruising around the islands. We saw the new bridge, yachts sailing and coastline from a different perspective. Hard working friendly staff, thanks
Zoe G — Google review
While the boat, ammenities, commentary, and monetary value were all very good, the trip was ruined by a group of people (a few adults and two small kids) who were doing a photoshoot for the kids. Three times I was asked to move from where I was sitting. One of those times I had to give up a fantastic view of a fort as no other seats were available on that side of the boat. The company should consider the needs of paying customers before renting out the space to disruptive groups.

Esplanadi Park, established in 1812, is a picturesque green space with tree-lined avenues and a stage for live music performances. Designed by Carl Ludvig Engel, the park features sculptures, flowerbeds, and a vibrant atmosphere with ice cream vendors, locals relaxing on the grass, buskers, and market-style stalls during warmer months. It is also home to Kappeli, one of Helsinki's oldest restaurants serving classic Finnish cuisine.
Clean park with lots of people just relaxing or taking a break from work. There’s a nice open area where everyone can gather to enjoy a concert (Depends on the day of the week as well). There are many seagulls here so you might not want to bring food.

Big and beautiful park. One of the most beautiful places to walk in Helsinki and is incredibly central. You can go nearly anywhere from this park and Biennial pieces can be seen here. The history of the park could be found in the pictures i provided which is pretty interesting.

Central Boulevard park with some local artists being featured and some live performances. There are plenty of ice cream stands lining the boulevard as you walk through and it is very scenic with many green plants. Excellent when it is nice out. Still pretty good when it is not.

Our group of 10 strolled through this park, entertainment venue, and sculpture collection twice. The greenery is great for breathing fresh air, sitting in the benches or reading the history of the park. I enjoyed the statues

Located in the heart of Helsinki, this area is surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants. You can visit Stockmann, a large nearby mall, or stop by Starbucks or the Moomin Shop. There’s also an Arabica store where you can find some cute Moomin-themed items. A great place to explore and enjoy the city’s atmosphere!

Esplanade Park is a very popular small park in the city centre of Helsinki. At the other end of the park there is famous Swedish Theater with its restaurants, and at the other end there is even more famous restaurant Kappeli. On a beautiful summer day, Esplanade Park is full of people sitting there, eating ice cream or drinking a beer or a cola and enjoying Finland's all too short summer.
Hannu T — Google review
Esplanadi is a lovely spot right in the heart of Tampere. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, as it is clean, well kept, and full of life during the summer months. There is a good balance between green space and places to sit and relax, which makes it ideal for a coffee break or simply watching people go by. The location is perfect too, with shops nearby and close to the main attractions. I give it 4 stars mainly because although it is beautiful, it can become quite crowded during the busiest hours, which slightly affects the peaceful vibe. Still, it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the city.

Tähtitorninvuoren puisto is a city park located in central Helsinki. It has stunning views of the sea, and is also home to a former observatory and harbor displays. The park is very important for understanding Finland and Finnish state traditions, as well as being a great place to enjoy the city views in winter.
Good place to visit in Helsinki. It's walkable distance from Helsinki central railway station. We can spent good time with family.Summer is the best period to visit this place

There are many beautiful parks in Helsinki. Less known but near Helsinki city center is Observatory Hill Park (Tähtitorninvuori tai -mäki). It was early summer morning when we walked and sat there in the park, only few people with their dogs, beautiful day coming, just enjoy.. Only a narrow street separates Observatory Hill Park from old beautiful houses which surround the park. In the park, which is actually quite big, one can easily find a peaceful place there to have a picnic or sunbath. On the hill, there are the main buildings of the observatory of Helsinki University, incl. for example one part of a science museum of Helsinki and shop of Ursa Astronomical Association for star gazers and enthusiasts. If one, a tourist or not, has some leisure time in Helsinki, this park is worth of walk around.

Real breath of fresh air and greenery at this defunct observatory. Great views over the Market Square
D B — Google review
This is a hillside leisure park a couple hundred metres south of the Old Market hall and the east end of Esplanadi. The area was historically a hillside lookout point where signal fires were lit to pass warning messages along the coastline. Today what you see is a park designed late 1860s by Swedish landscaper Knut Forsberg. The hillside park has nice grassy lawn, walking paths, tall and mature trees offering shade. You'll find nice views of the sea as well as few monuments including the impressive 'Shipwrecked' monument by Robert Stigell (1897). Alas, the old Helsinki Observatory building is found in the centre of the park as well. On the whole, it is a nice bit of green and leisure space, potentially worth a visit while spending time in Helsinki.
Brad — Google review
The walkway is sprawling and beautiful. Lots of big trees..lined up adding to the decor.

Went here in winter. The park is a giant hill, so it was a bit treacherous in the winter, especially the walk back down. Seems like a loved community park. There was a family there tobogganing between the trees and they were getting some decent speed. And a couple of dog walkers. Decent views from the top of the hill facing the water, but it was foggy for me. I imagine it would be absolutely gorgeous in the summer with the view, but not a must see in winter.

Peaceful green park with elevated views of the surrounding neighbourhoods. There aren’t any loud traffic noises, just the sounds of the rollercoasters in the adjacent amusement park. The sign at the entrance made me think that a change of name would be a good idea.

This park has a very unique, relaxed vibe on it. Lenin's park is aside of the Linnanmäki amusement park. One can hear the screams of roller-coaster. There is also Alppipuisto named park just other side of the amusement park. We visited your establishment yesterday and were extremely disappointed with the way one of your staff members treated us. An older woman with glasses was particularly rude and unprofessional throughout our visit. She yelled at my daughter and my close friend without cause, especially during a moment when we were experiencing some difficulty with payment. Instead of showing any understanding, she refused to let my older daughter explain the situation. Her behavior was aggressive and completely inappropriate. She also repeatedly yelled at my friend because her one-year-old child was walking around the café, which is expected in a space designed for children. What was most upsetting was that she kept pointing at random children and asking my friend if they were hers. This was invasive and completely unnecessary. To make matters worse, she threatened my friend's husband by saying that if any of the kids were to fall or get hurt, she would call the police and involve child protection services. This threat was extremely inappropriate and disturbing, especially given that accidents are bound to happen in an indoor playground environment. Children fall, it’s a natural part of play, and such extreme reactions from staff are unacceptable. We left feeling disrespected, targeted, and deeply upset by the entire experience. Based on how we were treated, we will not be returning, and we will not be recommending this place to others.

Hieno ja yllättävän iso puisto suht. keskeisellä paikalla. Ainoa miinus on jatkuva liikenteen melu läheisiltä valtaväyliltä.
