Desert
Rann of Kutch is India's largest salt marsh, offering surreal landscapes and recreational activities. In addition to this natural wonder, the Kutch region boasts several other attractions such as Mandvi Beach, Mata Na Madh temple, Narayan Sarovar, Koteshwar with its westernmost point in India, Lakhpat, Hazrat Peer Dargah, and more.
Beautiful desert 🐪 but it’s getting messed up by the tourists! We went there on full moon night and captured the silhouette pics ! Must visit once in a lifetime!
Deepika S — Google review
This is where you’ll find the huge salt plains in India. Make sure to visit at the right time (Nov-Feb) or you might show up to find it under water. You can experience local life here and see how artisans make traditional clothing. CN Traveler called it the new fashion capital of India.
Mubashir S — Google review
The Rann of Kutch, one of the world’s largest salt deserts, is a stunning expanse of white that stretches across Gujarat’s Kutch district. Known for its surreal beauty, especially under the full moon, it offers a magical experience unlike any other. I visited in February, just as the Rann Utsav was coming to an end, and was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of its vibrant festivities. The desert still echoed with colors, music, and the warmth of local culture. From camel rides to stargazing, every moment was unforgettable. The Rann is not just a destination—it’s a celebration of nature, tradition, and timeless beauty.
Tushar P — Google review
We visited on off season due to it was less crowded we were the only one at this place

RANN OF KUTCH On the other corner of India located in kutch Gujarat lies a vast and never ending white desert entirely made of salt a true wonder of nature. In fact ''rann'' means ''Desert'' in gujararti so the rann of kutch translates to desert of kutch. This desert spans not just 100 or 200 km but covers an area of over 7000 square km all located in the kutch district of Gujarat making kutch the largest district in India.
Aman T — Google review
Please visit during winter, avoid rainy season. During rainy season rann looks like a sea 🌊
Godara — Google review
It's a very beautiful place, a must visit..but the problem is the mode of transportation. Either you have to take a private cab or need to stay nearby options which are comparatively expensive. If you rent a car also they'll charge around 3000 per day but only in the morning and evening we can go to the desert because of the climate so a full day renting is not a good option..There is no other nearby destination as well to visit ..
Pinky S — Google review
Someone has rightly said, "Kutch nahi dekha to kuchh nahi dekha" — if you haven’t seen Kutch, you haven’t seen anything! If you ever get a chance to visit, make sure to witness either the sunrise or the sunset—both are absolutely breathtaking as the vast white desert reflects the changing hues of the sky. And if you're lucky to be there on a full moon night, take a walk on the glimmering white sands—the experience is nothing short of magical and has a quiet romantic charm to it that stays with you long after.

"The Kutch Museum is a hidden gem for anyone interested in the rich history and culture of the Kutch region. The collection is impressive—ranging from ancient artifacts, traditional textiles, and tribal crafts to coins, sculptures, and musical instruments. The section on the Kutchi script and local communities was especially fascinating. The building itself is a beautiful piece of colonial-era architecture, adding to the experience. It's a peaceful, informative place and a must-visit for history and culture lovers. Just make sure to check the timings before you go, as they can vary."
A C — Google review
One of the few places you can visit during your trip to Bhuj. The ticket price for Indian nationals is a mere 5 rupees with additional discounts for students. But In my opinion the museum does not do justice to the rich heritage of the Kutch region. The museum is rather empty with very few displays. Most of the installations have little to no descriptions which is a major disappointment to people who're genuinely interested in learning about the history of the region.
Renzo D — Google review
Fantastic place to learn about the rich and varied history of Rann of Kutch. The entire place is superbly curated and maintained. The staff is warm, kind and courteous. We loved our history lessons here filled with artefacts from the years gone by.a must visit place for every history lover. 100% recommended.
Nishant J — Google review
It was founded by Maharao Khengarji in the year 1877. The museum consists of the region’s delightful diversity in craft and local living with inscriptions of Kshatrapa back to the one A.D. along with coines [Kori- A kutch local currency] as well as scripts [Having gujarati alphabets]. Other than that, there's an anthropological section, archaeological section, textiles section, weapons section, music instruments section, shipping section, and stuffed animals section. More particularly, there's a section devoted to the tribal community where one can see ancient artifacts, folk arts, and crafts and information about tribal people, who are a major part of Kutch's history and culture. Visiting Hours for tourists: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM & 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Closed on Wednesday and Public Holidays. Having ticket charges of Rs 5/- . Parking is somewhat difficult to get in nearby areas.
Adv. N — Google review
The museum is good, maintained very nicely, and ancient things are present inside the museum which you should definitely explore The entry fee is 5Rs/- per person And if you want to click photos then you have to pay an extra 100rs.

Kalo Dungar, also known as Kala Dungar, is a 462-meter peak and the highest point in Kutch, Gujarat. Located near Khavda town, it offers breathtaking views of the Great Rann of Kutch and the Indo-Pak border. The hill is home to a 400-year-old temple dedicated to Lord Dattatreya. This place is near it from white rann.after exploring rann go to this place.here you can natural scenario,a beautiful sunset .
Jenis T — Google review
The food facilities there are very good, the prasad facilities are very well updated, the water system is very good,t If any tourist wants to stay there, room facilities are also available for them to stay. The only thing that needs improvement is the sunset points and everything that is old needs to be renovated and updated once again.
Vish — Google review
Nice place to watch the sunset. The nature's beauty is captivating😍 You can go there from the adjoining main road either walking, on a camel or by car. Do not fail to bargain. As soon as you reach the Dattatray temple boys will flock to you for binoculars. Binoculars are useless. Nothing visible from them. When you go to the view point on top there is a guy with a telescope which seems to work. Again remember to bargain. Pricing has no upper limit there. Do not rent anything from near the temple. Everything is available at the top.
Hardik B — Google review
Kalo Dungar, the highest point in Kutch, offers a stunning panoramic view of the White Rann and is an absolute gem for travelers. The contrast of dark hills against the shimmering salt flats is truly surreal, especially at sunset when the landscape glows with golden hues. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with the fascinating legend of the magnetic hill and the historic Dattatreya temple, adds a spiritual touch to the visit. The drive up is scenic and enjoyable. Don’t forget your camera! A must visit spot during your Rann of Kutch trip. Five stars for the views, serenity, and unique experience!

Beautiful beach clean water. The beach is pristine and very clean. We enjoyed our walking on the beach . It was peaceful and very relaxing to sit on the chairs listing to the gentle sea waves, watching the sun disappears into horizon and breathing in the cool and refreshing air. Tourist activities in Mandvi are limited. Nice beach with family members and friends. Enjoy

We visited Mandvi beach last month and it was a very beautiful place to visit if you are in Kutch. We travel from Bhuj to Mandvi beach by car and it takes around free and half hours by road. It's a very beautiful beach and the sunset is beautiful to view. It is always crowded with lots of people laughing taking photos making videos and atmosphere is very nice. Here you can play in the water and there are so many water activities also there by paying you can enjoy the water activities. You can have a camel ride or a horse ride. The city is closed to the beach.

It is a golden-brown sandy beach in the Kutch district of Gujarat, India, known for its water activities, horse riding, and windmills. It is located in the coastal town of Mandvi. Water sports: Enjoy various water activities available at the beach like quart bike rides, camel rides etc. Horseback riding: Take a relaxing horse ride along the shore. See the windmills: The beach is famous for its line of windmills, which was one of Asia's first windmill projects. The beach is clean but the water is murky.

A clean, calm, and scenic beach with soft sand and beautiful sunset views. It's great for walks, camel rides, or just relaxing by the sea. There are fewer crowds, and it is well-maintained compared to other beaches.

Vijay Vilas Palace, located in Mandvi about 65 kms from Bhuj city, is a former summer residence of the Jadeja Rajas of Kutch. This 450-acre palace is now a popular tourist attraction and royal family residence. The palace's stunning architecture, including red sandstone construction with intricate details and colored glass windows, has made it a sought-after filming location for Bollywood movies like Lagaan and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
Beautiful Heritage Palace by the Sea Vijay Vilas Palace is a stunning royal retreat near Mandvi beach — known for its grand architecture, lippan-style carvings, and panoramic sea views from the terrace. The palace and gardens are well-kept, offering a peaceful glimpse into Kutch’s royal past. A must-visit spot for history lovers and photographers alike! 📸🌿
NAIYA B — Google review
Visited this beautiful Vijay Vilas Palace during our school trip, and it was an amazing experience overall 🏰✨ The palace is a masterpiece of royal architecture — tall domes, artistic carvings, and intricate balconies that truly showcase the grandeur of Kutch’s royal heritage 👑🌴 The best part was climbing up to the top balcony, from where you get a stunning view of the Mandvi Beach and the vast Arabian Sea 🌊 — it’s absolutely picture-perfect 📸. Inside, we explored the royal rooms and saw antique furniture, photographs, and old artifacts — it really felt like stepping back into history 🕰️📜 The palace is well maintained, and the staff were polite and guided us properly throughout our visit. There’s also a small garden area and places to sit around, which made it a relaxing stop during the trip 🌿🙂. A few scenes of famous Bollywood movies were shot here too — which made it even more exciting for us students to see those real locations 🎬🎞️ --- Tip: 🎟️ Entry ticket is required (nominal). 👟 Wear comfortable footwear — a bit of walking & stairs. 🚌 Good parking space available for school / group buses. 📸 Great spot for group photos — don’t miss the terrace view! A perfect blend of history, architecture, and scenic beauty — a must-visit when in Mandvi or Kutch 🌅🏰✨
Bhadra M — Google review
Vijay Vilas Mahal in Mandvi is not just a palace, but a wonderful combination of natural beauty and Rajput style architecture. The fact that this palace is located on the banks of the Rukmini River and close to the Arabian Sea increases its appeal manifold. Architecture: Due to its beauty, this palace has been filmed in many Bollywood films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Lagaan, which is a testament to the grandeur of the palace. Its design is in the Rajput style, in which beautiful lattice carvings, Bengali domes and stained glass windows are seen. The red stone of the palace looks very beautiful in the sunlight. Atmosphere and Peace: Since it is close to the sea, there is a cool breeze and a peaceful atmosphere. The pleasure of seeing the beautiful view of the sea and beach from the terrace of the palace is something else. This palace was the summer residence of the kings of Kutch, and was designed with comfort and luxury in mind. Maintenance: Despite the Kutch earthquake, the palace has been well maintained and the cleanliness of its premises is commendable. My experience: If you come to Kutch and want to enjoy history along with the beaches, then Vijay Vilas Palace is a must-see. I love watching the sunset here the most – the color of the sunlight falling on the red stone palace and the Arabian Sea in front... the view is amazing! This palace will make you feel royal and romantic. Tip: After visiting the palace, be sure to go to the nearby Mandvi beach and have a camel ride or have breakfast in the evening.

Shri Bhadreshwar Jain Tirth, located in the Indian state of Gujarat, is a significant pilgrimage site with a rich history dating back to 516 BC. It is home to about 53 Jain temples surrounding the primary shrine, believed to be some of the earliest Jain temples in India. Despite being damaged by natural disasters over time, including earthquakes, these ancient temples have been rebuilt and restored.
Bhadreshwar Jain Tirth, also known as Vasai Jain Temple, is a significant Jain pilgrimage site located in Bhadreshwar village, Mundra Taluka, Kutch district, Gujarat, India. Situated approximately 75 kilometers south of Bhuj and about a kilometer from the seashore, the temple is renowned for its historical importance and architectural beauty. Historical Significance: The origins of Bhadreshwar are steeped in antiquity, with some accounts suggesting the city's founding around 516 BC. Oral traditions claim that the first temple was established approximately 2,500 years ago, about 45 years after the death of Lord Mahavir, though concrete evidence to support this is lacking. Over the centuries, the temple has undergone several renovations, notably by Jagdusha, a Jain merchant and philanthropist, in 1125 AD. Architectural Highlights: Constructed entirely of white marble, the temple features majestic pillars and houses 52 small shrines, each dedicated to different Tirthankaras. The main sanctum enshrines an ancient idol of Lord Parshvanath, the 23rd Tirthankara. The intricate carvings and serene ambiance make it a remarkable example of Jain architecture. Visiting Information: Timings: The temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:30 PM. Entry Fee: There is no entry fee for visitors. Accommodation: While the temple complex offers lodging facilities for Jain pilgrims, non-Jain visitors are advised to seek accommodation in nearby towns, as overnight stays within the temple premises may not be permitted. Nearby Attractions: In addition to the Jain temple, Bhadreshwar is home to two historically significant mosques built in the late 12th century. These structures showcase a unique blend of early Indian and Islamic architectural elements, reflecting the region's diverse cultural heritage. Best Time to Visit: The ideal time to visit Bhadreshwar is during the cooler months, from October to March, when the weather is pleasant and conducive for sightseeing. Bhadreshwar Jain Tirth offers a tranquil setting for spiritual reflection and an opportunity to appreciate the rich history and architectural splendor of Jain heritage in Gujarat.

The Shri Bhadreshwar Jain Tirth is a beautiful and peaceful Jain temple located in Bhadreshwar, Gujarat. It is dedicated to Lord Parshvanath, the 23rd Tirthankar of Jainism. The temple is built in a traditional Gujarati style and is surrounded by lush green gardens.

A historic site significant to the Jain community, where a mesmerizing temple beckons visitors for repeated enchantment. The sprawling grounds provide ample space for children to frolic, ensuring a delightful family time. The delectable food, served at an economical rate, tantalizes taste buds – a homely feast priced at a mere 70rs (60rs for Jains). If you happen to be in Kutch with a day to spare, don't miss out; explore this gem, surrounded by other attractions in the vicinity. We had a good time spending two nights there. Breakfast , lunch dinner (before Sunset) and accommodation facilities available, spacious parking available.

This is one of the oldest Jain temples and was completely rebuilt after the famous Bhuj earthquake. The place is super peaceful and beautifully maintained. The architecture is vintage and the greenery compliments the entire landscape. The only reason I have give it 4 stars is because it does not offer hygienic restrooms for the visitors.
Supriya S — Google review
This is one of the oldest and pretty big jain temple. A lot of people visit here when they plan their trip to Rann of Kutch. All the basic facilities like dharamshala, bhojanshala, etc. Are available here. There is an idol of parshwanath swami which was mulnayak (installed by Kapil keval muni in 5th century) but then shifted on the behind side and now the mulnyak is Mahavir Swami. There is 52 jinalay at the bhamti. This was renovated by samprati Maharaj and recently by dagdushah. This temple was devastated during earthquake in Kutch and since then the wok of this temple is going in and on.

A very nice experience in life.. One must go once..... If you live in Gujarat and don't go to this place in Gujarat why is it called Gujarati A.Jai Vachchraj Dada 🙏🙏The best time to visit Little Rann of Kutch is during the winter (November to February). The days are pleasant and the temperature drops to single digits (Celsius). Summers are scorching hot, with temperatures soaring into the forties during the day. The monsoon brings some respite from the heat but the Rann gets flooded and can’t be navigated. In fact, most of the animals settle down on the islands (known locally as bets) to escape the inundation.A very nice experience in life.. One must go once..... If you live in Gujarat and don't go to this place in Gujarat why is it called Gujarati A.Jai Vachchraj Dada 🙏🙏

Visiting the Rann of Kutch was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The vast white salt desert looks absolutely surreal, especially under the full moon — it feels like walking on another planet. The sunset and sunrise views are breathtaking, and the silence of the desert adds to its charm. The Rann Utsav was beautifully organized, with vibrant cultural performances, local handicrafts, and delicious traditional Gujarati food. The tents were clean and comfortable, and the hospitality was warm and genuine

Exploring the Little Rann of Kutch The Little Rann of Kutch is a fascinating desert ecosystem where nature, wildlife, and human resilience come together. We stayed at the Little Rann Resort, a cozy and family-friendly retreat. The visitors here were nature lovers who respected the local culture, wildlife, and environment, adding to the serene atmosphere. Wildlife and Nature’s Resilience One of the most magical moments was spotting flamingos. These graceful birds, with their raw beauty and incredible determination, migrate vast distances to call this place their temporary home. Witnessing them in such a stark yet beautiful landscape was inspiring. We also saw the majestic Indian Wild Ass, a rare species found only here, embodying the spirit of freedom. These animals remain untamed, as they cannot be domesticated. The vegetation was another wonder—succulents filled with water and salty grass that sustain humans, animals, and the desert’s ecosystem alike. Salt and Solar Innovation The desert also amazed us with its salt pans and the ingenious use of solar panels for water harvesting, vital for salt production. It’s a perfect mix of traditional wisdom and modern technology. The Little Rann of Kutch is a mesmerizing blend of raw nature, wildlife, and human ingenuity. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and humbling connection with the desert.

Siyot Caves, also known as Kateshwar Buddhist caves, are a collection of five rock-cut caves near Siyot village in Gujarat's Kutch district. Dating back to the 1st century AD, these ancient Buddhist caves are mentioned in accounts by Chinese travelers from the 7th century. The caves feature ambulatory paths and east-facing sanctums, with carvings and sculptures depicting historical events such as Chinese migration to India.
Must visit for people interested in history, archaeological remains. Intricate cave complex now infested by bats. Earlier a Shiva temple later used by Buddhists. Approach road is excellent but ends suddenly in front of the caves. Difficult to reverse cars. Thorny bushes line the road. Entry free. Don't forget to see the adjacent primitive step-well.
Karmic V — Google review
On the way to Lakhpat, there’s a small cave that requires a diversion from the main road. When we visited, the roads weren’t in good condition. Honestly, it’s not a great spot to visit—maybe worth a try if you have extra time, otherwise it’s not really worth it

Place is for people who are interested in history, archaeological remains. MAKE SURE TO STOP YOUR CAR IN MAIN ROAD ONLY. CAUSE WE ENDED UP ENTERING THE SUB ROAD TO CAVE. IT STRAIGHT UP GET US TO CAVE LOTS OF CARS WERE THERE. IT GET HARD TO REVERSE.

Nestled in the remote terrain near Lakhpat in the Kutch district of Gujarat, the Siyot Caves are a quiet yet powerful reminder of India’s ancient Buddhist and Hindu heritage. Though not as famous as Ajanta or Ellora, these caves are remarkable in their own right — offering a unique mix of history, architecture, and mystery.

A historical place and part of our heritage!! A cave with history of lord buddha!! Though it requires some attention and maintenance!! Place is near the kateshwar temple where you can rest and enjoy!! Though you need to visit the place before evening!! One thing which irritates is bats inside the caves!!
Rahilsinh S — Google review
These small caves are historical place under occupation of archeology department. Worth visiting near Lakhpat if you have time and interest in histical places. But they are poorly maintained dur to lack of attention. There was nobody to look after the caves. There was also lack of cleanliness. A part of caves was covered with wild plants. Archeology department could have looked after it in better way.
Hemin S — Google review
Not so public. It's WORTHLESS to visit these caves. Photos posted by public mislead this place to be beautiful. Even a DMax or Fortuner cannot take Uturn from this place where road ends at cave entrance. Approach road is too narrow and is covered with thorny bushes.
Niranjan W — Google review
The main cave has east facing sanctum, ambulatory and space divisions which suggests a Shiva temple from the first or second century. The cave was used by Buddhists later which can be concluded based on the seals found herein and the traces of Brahmi inscriptions. Other caves are simple single cells which were probably the part of eighty Buddhist caves located near the mouth of the Indus river as reported by Xuanzang in seventh century. Local people believe that these caves were used by dacoits to hide things looted from people in past. Excavations in 1988–89 recovered clay seals engraved with Buddha images in various mudras and seals engraved with late Brahmi and Devnagari inscriptions. Other findings were copper rings, Gadhaiya coins, terracotta Nandi with bell and chain, different types of earthen wares like Surahi. Based on stratigraphic evidence, it is established that the site was occupied by Buddhist before it was again occupied by Shaivaites around twelfth or thirteenth century. The site was repaired after 2001 Gujarat earthquake.

The White Desert of Kutch is a popular tourist destination in India, known for its vast expanse of white salt desert that becomes visible after monsoon season. The area is particularly popular during sunrise and sunset. Despite its remote location, the desert attracts thousands of domestic tourists every day during peak season. Despite the crowds, the magnanimous size of the desert makes it a soothing and beautiful experience. The cool weather in November only adds to its allure.
A truly mesmerizing and one-of-a-kind experience! The vast expanse of the white salt desert under the open sky is breathtaking, especially during sunset and full moon nights. The Rann Utsav adds vibrant cultural charm with music, food, and crafts. A must-visit for nature lovers and those seeking unique landscapes.

Rann of Kutch – A Magical White Wonderland ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Visiting the Rann of Kutch in December 2025 was truly one of the most memorable travel experiences ever! 🏜️✨ From the moment we arrived, we were mesmerized by the vast expanse of the white salt desert – it felt like walking on the moon, but brighter and more peaceful. 🌕🤍 Getting There: 🚍 Only authorized buses are allowed beyond a certain point. After that, you either: 🐫 Hop on a traditional camel cart (fun and rustic!) 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ Or enjoy a walk across the surreal landscape Important Tip: 🪪 You must have a government permit to enter the White Rann area. ✔️ Check with your travel provider in advance. ⏳ If not pre-arranged, be prepared for long queues at the permit counter – especially during peak season. Experience Highlights: 🌅 Sunset was absolutely breathtaking – the sky turned into shades of orange, pink, and purple, reflecting off the white salt. A moment to cherish forever! 📸 Local vendors offer beautiful Kutchi costumes for rent – perfect for vibrant, cultural photos. ☀️ Sunrise is even more magical – peaceful, quiet, and soul-soothing. With far fewer people than in the evening, it feels like your own private moment with nature. Good to Know: 🧴 Carry plenty of water and snacks, especially if you're going early morning or staying late. 🍽️ Unfortunately, there are limited food options in the desert area. 🚫 No proper toilet facilities – we were told to use open fields, which was quite disappointing. 🚱 Also, no drinking water available onsite – so come prepared! Despite these challenges, the Rann’s ethereal beauty, cultural charm, and once-in-a-lifetime atmosphere make it worth the trip. 🌟 Pro Tip: If possible, stay overnight nearby – catching both sunset and sunrise truly completes the experience! Rann of Kutch – a glowing jewel of India’s natural wonders. Highly recommended! ✅

The Rann of Kutch is an absolutely mesmerizing destination! This vast white desert stretches endlessly, creating a surreal landscape that feels like stepping into another world. The sparkling salt flats under the sun are breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. Don’t miss the Rann Utsav a vibrant cultural festival showcasing local music, dance, and handicrafts. Important tip: book your hotel or tent accommodation well in advance, especially during peak season and secure your entry permit before arriving at the White Rann. Also explore nearby attractions like Kala Dungar and Bhuj. A truly unforgettable experience!
Mayalcito B — Google review
The endless stretch of white salt under the open sky is surreal and mesmerizing. Whether you visit during sunrise, sunset, or on a full moon night, the desert glows with a beauty that words can’t fully capture. I visited during the Rann Utsav, and the whole setup was vibrant, cultural programs, handicrafts, local food, camel rides, and traditional Kutchi music made it a complete cultural experience. The tent city is well-organized and gives you a mix of luxury and authenticity. If you're a nature lover, photographer, or just someone seeking a peaceful yet unforgettable trip, this place is a must-visit. The Rann of Kutch stays in your heart long after you’ve left.

If you're planning a trip to Bhuj, don't miss the enchanting Rann Utsav, an annual cultural festival that takes place in the breathtaking Great Rann of Kutch. This vibrant celebration showcases the rich traditions and artistic heritage of Gujarat, transforming one of the world's largest salt deserts into a lively carnival filled with music, dance, and local crafts. Organized by the residents in collaboration with Gujarat Tourism, this festival is a true testament to Kutch's unique culture.
Rann Utsav is a great festival organised by Gujarat State Government in the white rann of kutch. A beautiful place specially in evening & night.

Visiting the Rann Utsav in the evening was a truly enchanting experience! The beauty of the white desert under the soft moonlight was surreal and unforgettable. The festival grounds were vibrant and alive, celebrating the rich culture and traditions of Gujarat in every detail. The setup was well-organized, with cultural performances, exquisite handicrafts, and mouthwatering Gujarati cuisine creating a perfect festive ambiance. Camel rides were available to transport visitors from the main entrance to the function area, adding convenience and a unique cultural touch to the evening. However, the restroom facilities in some areas left much to be desired and could use significant improvement to match the otherwise excellent event standards. Overall, it was an incredible evening that beautifully showcased Gujarat's heritage and the breathtaking beauty of the Great Rann of Kutch. Highly recommend an evening visit for a magical and unforgettable experience!

An absolute masterpiece this place is. You need to reach bhuj railway station or airport where they have a dedicated space for stall where you can report your arrival and the staff will be happy to help you with your transportation to white rann resort. It takes approx 1.5-2 hours to get here by Bus which will be arranged by the management as a complimentary service to all arriving and departing guests. You will regularly get follow up calls for your arrival and departure. Once you reach you are welcomed by the hotel staff wearing local dress and playing dhols and shehnai. Luggage is taken care of by bell boys. At reception you are welcomed with a good welcome drink mostly soft drinks. You have 2 options for stay. Tents or Bhungas. Both are very well maintained clean and tidy. Bathrooms are spacious and clean. Staff is very polite and helpful. All meals have a good number of options mostly vegetarian and its buffet. Meals include soup and starter, main course and dessert. Jain food counters are seperate and its delicious. Buses and tour guide is ready as per itinerary to show you around. Water bottles are provided with no limit or additional payment. Everything is well planned and executed. If you find this review and photos uploaded helpful please give it a like.

We visited Rann of Kutch on the first full moon of the Dec 2024. Apparently the govt/Gujarat tourism have recently started a shuttle bus service from BSF checkpost to the point where the road ends in Rann. Previously we were allowed to take our vehicles till that point. Talking to the locals I got to know it's a way for govt to commercialize and earn money via permits which also takes money away from the hands of locals who previously might be earning by taking tourists to the last spot via camel rides. The local homestay owners were also not informed of this so we were not able to get any information from them on the permit system and if we will be allowed to go to the Rann at night for the full moon experience (since it was the first full moon since the shuttle bus service started and the bus operators told they only operate till 7:30pm). The people at the Runn Utsav helpdesk also had no clue and were not at all helpful in answering our queries. They were rude and had no business being at the helpdesk. Thankfully, upon going there in the night we were allowed to take our vehicles till the last point after showing our permits at the BSF checkpost. Although they may change the rules soon and allow only buses to take you there. Also, the Rann Utsav market, eateries and other activities which are setup before the checkpost operate only for a limited time in the evening and close early by 9-10pm. We reached there a bit late after sightseeing nearby areas as we had assumed fair will be open till late in the night due to the full moon occasion since it is the biggest draw to visit Rann which lights up the entire white desert by Moonlight. Talking about the actual white desert, we visited it during sunrise and at midnight during the full moon. It really is beautiful and you see mostly white plains till the horizon, although it was below expectations as it was not as white as I'd heard from f&f and various adverts/social media (which could partly be due to it becoming a commercialized space with a lot of tourism). At night the full moon was incredibly bright and looked like a bulb which lit up the entire sky and the white desert below it. We were able to spot Jupiter and Mars too along with various constellations among the starry sky. Overall I felt it's a beautiful place but is being spoilt by increasing commercialization by Gujarat Tourism.

The Topansar Lake lies in the middle of the port city of Mandvi and is quite popular among the local folks and tourists alike. The early morning scenic view of the lake is breathtaking and extraordinary. A very old fort. It is now in ruins. You need to climb a flight of about 60 to 80 steps. The fort's wall has collapsed. At the entrance, on the right, is a temple of Krishna-Radha. The remnants of the palaces are still there. The roofs and walls have collapsed. There also exists a huge water tank a little away. Although I didn't go there due to shortage of time. An interesting interaction was with a young soon-to-be-couple on their pre-wedding shoot. Overall, a good experience. And yes, lots of butterflies around.

Roha Fort, Kutch, Gujarat, India Introduction to Roha Fort Perched atop a lonely hill in the Kutch region of Gujarat, Roha Fort is a historical site that offers panoramic views of the surrounding desert landscape. The fort, though now in ruins, is a testament to the rich history and the strategic importance it once held in the bygone eras. History of Tourism at Roha Fort Historically, Roha Fort has been a lesser-known tourist destination compared to other forts and palaces within India. Its remote location made it less accessible to the general tourist populace. However, over time, with improved infrastructure and an increasing curiosity about offbeat and historical sites among travelers, Roha Fort has seen a gradual increase in visitors. The history of tourism at Roha Fort is entwined with the broader development of tourism in the Kutch region. It was not until the late 20th century that Kutch started gaining prominence as a tourist destination. This rise in tourism was bolstered by the Government of Gujarat's efforts to promote the region's cultural heritage, which eventually shone a spotlight on historical sites such as Roha Fort. Roha Fort is primarily a destination for those interested in archaeology, history, and photography. Among its main attractions are the remains of the fort's walls, gates, and several inscriptions left behind by its former inhabitants. A must visit place if you pass by that road. Can be a good place for photography if you want the old abandoned remains of the old palace as your background. I will recommend it to visit during monsoon. This place holds a good history of bhuj royal family.

Historical landmark
Lakhpat Fort, located in Kutch, is a remarkable abandoned stone fortress with round towers and high walls that attract many tourists for exploration and scenic views. The massive fort wall, constructed in the late 18th century, spans 7 kilometers and is a primary draw for visitors. Despite being in ruins, the fort holds significant historical value and houses a Gurudwara where Guru Nanak Dev Ji had stayed.
A Hidden Gem of Kutch! Lakhpat Fort is a must-visit historical site if you are exploring Kutch. The fort walls are massive and stretch across a huge area, offering stunning views of the surrounding salt desert and the Rann. It’s peaceful, less crowded, and full of historical charm. Inside the fort, you’ll find old temples, a mosque, and remnants of the town that once thrived here. The sunset view from the fort walls is just breathtaking! It’s also close to the famous Lakhpat Gurudwara, which is a spiritual and serene place. The roads to the fort are good, but there are limited food or stay options nearby — so plan accordingly. Perfect for history lovers, photographers, and anyone looking for a quiet offbeat spot in Gujarat.

We visited lakhpat fort on a weekday.....the road to Lakhpat fort is under construction n for many kilometers it was just a kaccha road n heavy trucks moving there....nothing to see on either side of road....no dhaba or village nearby...no wonder its still a scarcely populated area.... It's past history n illustrious prosperity seems like a dream....its fort is a testament of a great past that existed. From the top of fort u can see the vast expanse of dry n empty landscape...where previously the sea route flourished.
Suparna K — Google review
This fort has historical significance, but its poor condition makes the visit underwhelming. The government should consider maintaining it to preserve its heritage. Reaching the fort is challenging due to narrow single-lane roads, limited or no network coverage, and the absence of petrol pumps nearby. There are no restaurants or shops in the area, so visitors must carry their own food and water. Note:- No entry fee.
Devanshi P — Google review
Lakhpat village widely recognized as the last before the Pakistan border in Kutch is Lakhpat. Lakhpat is a historic village that was once a prosperous trading hub and is located near the India-Pakistan border, close to the Kori Creek. It holds religious significance as the last known stop of Guru Nanak before his journey to Mecca.
Divyesh C — Google review
Fort with rich history but in pitiful condition. No signboards or guide available to give a tour & explain history of the fort. Risky to climb up the stairs atop the fort wall. Approach road to Fort is in good condition but with no restaurants or gas stations within 15-20 ksm radius. Behind the fort is a large open area offering scenic view of white desert. We visited in October 2025 and this place was the only spot having significant formation of white desert. In order to reach here, it is advisable to take Bhuj-Nakhatrana-Mata na madh-Lakhpat route. The route from Dhordho-Lakhpat is in very bad condition & not good for hatchback and sedan cars.

Lakhpat Fort is one of the most fascinating historical sites in Kutch. Situated near the India–Pakistan border, this fort gives a glimpse into the rich past and forgotten glory of the region. The fort walls are massive and still well-preserved, offering panoramic views of the Great Rann of Kutch. The atmosphere here is calm and almost mystical — you can feel the silence of the deserted town that was once a thriving trading port. Sunset from the fort walls is especially breathtaking. Roads to Lakhpat are well-connected from Bhuj, and the drive itself through the dry salt plains is an experience. It’s a perfect place for history lovers, photographers, and those who enjoy peaceful, offbeat destinations. Best time to visit: November to February Tip: Carry water and snacks — there are limited facilities nearby.
Kajal B — Google review
The remnants of the Lakhpat fort are reminders of the spot being a thriving trading a spot. More than 200 years old, the ramparts still keep the Arabian Ocean at bay. It is said that the fort is named after Rao Lakha, who ruled in Sindh about the middle of the thirteenth century. You can visit this place any time. This is the best place to have a great time. There is no any toor guidance. I have mentioned some images in this review. Which shoes that gujarat government also built cafeteria. But due to public was not comming to this place. They have shut down all the things.

Visited in end of March 2023. Fort is in ruins... it's a historical fort with lots of history... You need a guide to tell you the history as there are not many sign boards. Fort houses a gurudwara where Gurunanak dev ji had stayed. There are no hotel arrangements for a stay. Didn't sight any restaurants as well. There's a small stall just outside of the main fort entrance. A good visit if you are a history enthusiast. If you start from Dholavira, you can visit Lakhpat fort then proceed to Narayan Sarovar

Viralkumar P — Google review
The Banni grassland in Gujarat’s Kachchh district is one of the largest grasslands in the Indian subcontinent with an area of over 2500 sq.km. It is a region that is both socio-culturally unique and ecologically valuable. It has a rich and long history of migratory pastoralism dating back at least 500 years, and links with a broader geographical landscape that included Sindh and Balochistan in Pakistan, and even Afghanistan. Many factors have served to shape Banni over time, including the damming of rivers, the introduction and spread of the invasive Prosopis juliflora tree, and the continually varying composition and density of livestock that have grazed these grasslands for many centuries. Banni’s diversity Banni is home to great biological diversity, with over 40 grass species, 275 bird species, reptilian and mammal populations, and domesticated animals, such as the Banni buffalo, Kankrej cow, sheep, goats, horses and the mangrove dwelling Kharai camel alongside the better-known scrub-forest Kachhi camel. This diversity is linked to the range of ecological conditions that characterize the Banni, including a number of seasonal wetlands, periodically high levels of salinity owing to the nearby coast, and the aridity of the Kachchh Desert. Many of the Banni’s plant, bird, reptile, and mammal species are threatened. The Banni is also home to 22 ethnic groups, the majority of whom are pastoralists, spread across 48 settlements in 19 Panchayats, with a population of close to 40,000 people. Their rights to graze the Banni are derived from historical rulers of the region who granted these rights in return for a grazing tax. Today around 80,000 livestock, mostly Banni buffalo and Kankrej cow, graze these grasslands and well over 100,000 litres of milk is sold every day. The region also serves as a breeding ground for the Banni buffalo and the Kankrej cow, sold in many parts of the country.

Nestled in the heart of Kutch, Aaina Mahal, or the Palace of Mirrors, is a stunning 18th-century palace that showcases an exquisite blend of art and architecture. Constructed under the reign of Rao Lakhpatji in 1752, this opulent structure boasts intricate mirror work and lavish decorations featuring precious stones and elaborate chandeliers. The palace's interior dazzles with its Hall of Mirrors, where reflections create a mesmerizing visual experience.
Despite the extensive damage caused by the Kutch earthquake, the Aina Palace is a living symbol of Bhuj's identity and its wonderful art. Built during the time of Maharaja Lakhpatji, this palace is truly unforgettable. Amazing Mirror Work: The name of the palace itself is 'Aina' and its main attraction is its main hall, which is studded with mirrors. As soon as you enter the room, it feels like you see your reflection in hundreds of mirrors, which creates a magical scene. The design and craftsmanship of this room is such that at night, when you light a lamp, the entire room is illuminated. Influence of European Art: This palace has been built by the craftsmen of Kutch adopting the European style. Here you will find Dutch clocks, glass brought from Venice, and old remnants of electrical systems, which show the international connections of the kings of Kutch. Current Experience: A part of the palace was damaged after the earthquake, but the beauty of the part that is open is as captivating as ever. My Experience: A visit to this palace will give you a glimpse of Kutch's rich past. The glitter of the mirrors and the collection of royal objects is amazing. It is nice to sit here in peace and think about the hard work of the artists at one time. Tip: Don't miss the Prague Palace, located right next to the Iina Palace, which is a magnificent example of Italian style. Allocate at least 2-3 hours to see both the palaces together.

There are lot of antique that are well preserved and taken care of. To enter the palace, you have to remove your shoes outside. There’s no one to look after the shoes that’s a bit of a scare. There are separate charges for photography inside and there are CCTV cameras put inside to keep an eye on people messing around with things. It takes about 30 mins to do the complete the tour and it is a decent experience.

Nice heavenly place. 100% pure oxygen source. It's an old Volcano and this is a beautiful and serene place. A 999 steps walk up can take you to the Dhinodhar Dada temple on the top of it. It's associated with a history of 12 years of "Tapasya" or "austerity", "penance", "mortification" with head down on a seed of betel palm. The perfect time to climb the mountain is early morning at 6 AM or later in the evening. In the morning time, the wind helps you to climb the steps easily and way downwards, while returning it helps you to stop being fallen. History says.. Dhinodhar Dungar's history encompasses a geological origin as an ancient volcanic plug and a spiritual narrative centered on Saint Dhoramnath. Geologically, the plug is a solidified magma intrusion from the Deccan Traps era, while the local folklore describes the saint's deep meditation there, resulting in the formation of the Kutch Desert and the breaking of the hill, leading to the establishment of the Kanphat yogi sect. The site is now a pilgrimage destination with a temple at the summit and a monastery at its foothills. The hill is pilgrimage centre due to Dhoaramnath shrine. Atop Dhinodhar, there are views of the Great Rann and the Chhari Dhandh wetland. This area has abundant wildlife and flora and is a trekker destination. a trekking competition has been organized between December and January.

Beautiful palace with a few peacocks, a variety of flowers and a peaceful environment. Do book their homestay Incase you haven't booked stay. It was a 5 star stay with great food, camp fire, clean rooms and compassionate people around.

The entire palace grounds are quite serene and peaceful. They're also well maintained and clean. The various ruins add a layer of mystery to the mood of the place. The central building was ruined during the last Bhuj earthquake but one can still sense the grandeur and beauty. Our walk in the morning through the property was an amazing experience with all the birds, cool breeze, greenery everywhere, and the freshness of the air. There's enough parking space, in case you are driving to this place and we saw many people come in by tuktuk and rickshaw. There's a small entry fee for the museum, which displays a lot of interesting items from the collection of the last king of Kutch.

Visitors can visit the palace six days a week, with an entry fee of Rs 30. (-1) Please be aware while buying the tickets. We were overcharged ₹100/- for 3 persons. Nestled in the heart of Bhuj, the Bharatiya Sanskruti Darshan Museum is a treasure trove for anyone eager to delve into India's rich cultural tapestry. This captivating museum showcases an impressive array of folk art, textile crafts, and traditional architecture that reflect the diverse heritage of the region. If you are in bhuj u can spend half n hour here its worth it 😊

At a distance of 5 km from Bhuj Railway Station, Bharatiya Sanskruti Museum is a cultural center as well as a museum located along the College Road in Bhuj city of Gujarat. Also known as Folk Museum, it is one of the top cultural centers of Gujarat and among the must visit places in Bhuj. Bharatiya Sanskruti Darshan Museum was established by Ramsinhji Rathod, a scholar of the folk art of Kutch, around sixty years back. It functions as both a museum and cultural center to showcase unique and rare pieces of crafts and folk arts of the Kutch region. Many specimens of the art and craft belong to the remote regions of Kutch District are exhibited in the museum. These artworks have been collected by forest service officials while travelling around the district. The museum has been designed in the form of a hut with a huge stone door adorned with beautiful rock carvings. There are five major sections in the museum in including Anthropology section, Sahitya Chitra, Artifacts Section etc. At present, Bharatiya Sanskruti Darshan Museum houses more than 4500 exhibits collected from different villages and rural areas of the region. The Sahitya Chitra dedicated to Indian literary work of Kutch, comprising of around 1500 rare books. Sections showing leather embroidery work, bead work, weapons and musical instruments are also worth exploring. In addition, there are sections exhibiting collections of wood work, stone carvings, paintings, silver work and terracotta. Kothala, a type of treasury used to keep valuables in the ancient times, is another highlight of the museum. Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Museum is a cultural centre and museum located on College Road in Bhuj, Gujarat. Also known as the Folk Museum, it is one of Gujarat's main cultural centres and a must-see place to visit in Bhuj. The precious objects were collected by a government servant who visited most regions while on duty. The main aim of keeping all the objects together was to create awareness for the general public. The shape of the museum is like a cottage. It has a league stone at the entryway, along with a beautiful carving of rock. The museum has five main sections: Anthropology, Artefacts and Sahitya Chitra. The Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Museum has 4500 objects collected from many villages in Gujarat. The museum also has local traditional objects for the showcase. It includes Rabari Bhungas, wood, stone carvings and musical instruments. The vintage Kutch textiles are quite interesting, especially if you haven't been to the Calico Museum in Ahmedabad. Collection of Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Museum Ramsinhji Rathod, a specialist in Kutch traditional art, built the Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Museum approximately sixty years ago. It is a museum as well as a cultural centre. It shows the unique and rare crafts and folk arts of Kutch. During the tour of the district, the forest service officials collected the artwork. The Sahitya Chitra is in honour of an Indian literary work from Kutch and has over 1500 rare volumes. Sections including leather stitching, beadwork, firearms, and musical instruments are all worth studying. There are further separate sections of collections of woodwork, stone carvings, paintings, silverwork, and terracotta. The other main attraction of the museum is Kothala. It is a treasury used to store ancient objects.

It has got amazing vibes! The silver mirrors, ornaments and instruments are breathtaking. There's a special section about the historic relevance of Kutch with reference to the Indus civilization. Several statues depict the native nomadic tribes and their clothing/lifestyle. Coins and bandhej clothing are displayed on the walls. Good for young kids and history buffs.
Akshar P — Google review
The name suggests that it could be a showcase of Indian culture but it turned out to be a disappointment for me. There is place, there are rooms, there is so much room to do much more. But just the basic photos, some artifacts and some randomly made things are kept here. 1 room where cloth/print of kutch is kept is the relatively best thing although more than museum, it's just another place for you to take a photo There are 2 gates, 1 in which you see afew things, and other gate on opposite side where there is hut and other things made there. The maps may take you to a wrong place so you may want to put Kacheri in map. This is close to kacheri. There is limited parking in the premise and hence you may park your vehicles on road outside.
Taral S — Google review
Rare painting form being preserved / restored here. Joshi family is engaged in maintaining the museum. Rs.30 entry fee. Photography charge extra. Rare books on Kutch available. UPI accepted. Parking on the street.

Mr Ramsinhji K Rathod a scholar of the folk art of Kutch and winner of many state Government awards has created an excellent museum in Bhuj which is called Bharatiya Sanskruti Darshan. The museum epitomizes the rustic life styles of the Kutchi villager containing around 4500 exhibits. Also, there are more than 1500 rare books on art and culture. This museum has five major sections. In the Ethnological section, Sahitya Chitra, in the central hall can be found rare works of literature. In other sections are interesting artifacts such as leather embroidery, wood work, wood carvings, terra cotta, wall paintings, bead work, stone carvings, musical instruments, knives and swords and silver work. Inside one of the huts is the intricately designed "Kothala" (the treasury). In olden times, ornaments money, and other valuables of the royalty were kept in the "Kothala".

We went to this place on our way from Bhuj to Ashapura maa temple and then to Dwarka. Its near about 200km away from ashapura maa temple. If u want to visit narayan sarovar , then you will have to travel 200km in and out, i.e 400 kms journey from ashapura maa temple. There are not much hotels present there, but you will find the main temple trust have dharmsala 's for yatris. Also the dharmsala provides meals which is for free... but it's really tasty.Believe me guys, this place will give you happiness and relaxation, and I hope you love the place. A Peaceful and Sacred Destination Narayan Sarovar Lake is a beautiful and serene place located in the remote Kutch region. It’s considered one of the five holy lakes (Panch Sarovar) in Hinduism, and visiting here feels spiritually uplifting. The lake has a calm and peaceful atmosphere, with ancient temples nearby, including the famous Narayan Temple. The surroundings are clean and well-maintained, and you can sit by the lake to enjoy the peaceful breeze and reflections on the water. It's a great place for both spiritual seekers and nature lovers. The drive to Narayan Sarovar is long but scenic, especially during monsoon or winter. There are basic facilities around, but not many restaurants or shops — so it’s best to carry some food and water. It is situated in southwestern Kutch near the village of Tera in Abdasa Taluka.🛣️ Tera Fort was badly damaged in a war that was fought during the reign of Maharao Lakhpatji (ruled 1741-1760). Sumraji Thakore of Tera, the chief of Tera Estate, spoke badly of the Rao of Kutch. Lakhpatji sent an army to Tera, to subdue the revolt. For the first time in history of Kutch, artillery power was used in war. This artillery was set up by the famous Ram Singh Malam......💂🏻💂🏻💂🏻 The cannon power destroyed most of the fort. The war ended after three months of siege, when Sumraji surrendered and gave a formal apology for his remarks... Vande Mataram Memorial is well maintained. It has a beautiful Canteen with Swings which was a novelty. We didn’t try the food so no comments. The concept is to share the history of Indian freedom fighters, educate visitors with teachings of Gandhiji. There are artisan huts where artisans sell their wares. It is very authentic and beautiful.

The museum is incredible! One of its highlights is a replica of the Indian Parliament, which is truly impressive. Inside, you'll find statues of freedom fighters, perfect for memorable photos, along with numerous photos of army commanders who contributed significantly to our nation. There are also many other statues and a market where you can shop for souvenirs. I opted for the regular ticket, which costs ₹100. If you're interested in watching a movie about freedom fighters, there's a ₹200 ticket available for that as well.

Shree Lakheshwar Shiva Temple, also known as Kera's ancient Lord Shiva temple, is a renowned attraction in the Kutch district of Gujarat, India. Built during the Chaulukya dynasty's reign in the 10th century, this temple boasts impressive architecture and intricate carvings. Despite suffering damage from earthquakes in 1819 and 2001, the ruins still captivate visitors with their well-preserved features.
Located in Kera being hardly 30 minutes drive from Bhuj this Shiva temple shows both the genius of our ancestors and oversightness of the government or ASI. Currently this temple is standing structure of ruins which once used to be "poems carved in stone". The temple is standing with wood support (no cement) as far as I know and has only 3 sides. Front side has fallen down in the earthquake of Kutch. However, still the beauty of this place is amazing with flood of people visiting on Monday from nearby villages it remains empty on the other days. When we looked around the temple, everywhere there was litter (inside temple boundary wall, and besides temple raised floor). However in a poor maintained state, the vibration of this place is completely different, it's peaceful and powerful both at the same time.
Dhruvin B — Google review
Features The inside of the temple is square in shape, each side 8 feet 6 inches (2.59 m). The walls of the sanctuary are 0.79 m thick. The shrine has a circular passageway or pradakshina that is 2 feet 6 inches wide. This passage receives natural light from two open carved stone perforated windows. Of the original room or mandapa of the temple, which was 18 feet 9 inches (5.72 m) wide, only the north wall has survived. There are some well-carved sculptures on the wall. The temple spire is well executed with the ornamentation of eight triangle-shaped sculptures in the shape of chaitya windows on each face of the spire. Surrounded between the windows are well-crafted sculptures of human figures. These sculptural formations are repeated one on top of the other gradually reducing their size as the height of the spire increases. In the corners of the sanctuary, there are miniature spiers, and the same type is built on top of them in a recessed interior element found in the large main central spire. The external faces of the spiers are well ornamented with elegantly carved sculptures. There are many stone sculptures of Yakshas around the temple premises. An annual fair is held here, attended by a large number of devotees.

Rann Utsav - The Tent City is a unique experience located in the middle of the Rann, offering a blend of extreme temperatures and surreal white salt landscapes. The village setup provides an authentic feel with local dance performances, traditional dishes, and craft stalls run by local artisans. The tent city offers various types of accommodations and well-planned vegetarian food options catering to the Jain community.
My experience at Rann Utsav – The Tent City was truly exceptional. The entire setup beautifully captures the spirit and culture of Kutch — from the traditional décor and warm hospitality to the vibrant local performances. The tents were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, offering both comfort and luxury in the middle of the white desert. The staff deserves special appreciation for their professionalism and prompt service — always courteous and ready to assist with a smile. The food options were diverse and delicious, giving a perfect taste of authentic Gujarati cuisine🙏💝 The overall experience — especially the sunrise and sunset views over the Rann Utsav was breathtaking and memorable. It’s an ideal destination for those seeking a blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. Highly recommended for anyone planning to experience the magic of the Rann! 🌅✨

I spent 1 day in ran utsav city, and the entire management was pretty smooth and seamless. Everything was quite well maintained, and bus facilities for visiting white rann during sunset, full moon night, and sun rise. They had the star gazing arrangements and I was able to spot the full moon for the first time from there. The moon got captured beautifully via their telescope. The tent was very unique, and a unique place to stay. It all appeared to be like a festival where people from different parts of the country and world came together to enjoy the white rann.

Our recent trip to the Rann of Kutch, especially the visit to Kala Dungar, was truly unforgettable. The long bus journey could have easily felt tiring, but our coordinator Gokul made sure it was filled with fun and positive energy. Gokul is such a polite, well-behaved, and friendly guy. He noticed everyone was getting a bit quiet during the long ride, so he took the initiative and started antakshari. Within minutes, the whole bus was singing, laughing, and bonding like old friends. It honestly brought a different vibe to the trip and made the journey just as memorable as the destination. Kala Dungar itself was beautiful—the views, the calm breeze, and the vast white desert stretching endlessly were magical. But what made the experience even better was the way the trip was managed. Gokul checked on everyone, made sure we were comfortable, and handled everything with a smile. His enthusiasm and kindness really stood out. Overall, the entire trip felt well-organized, enjoyable, and full of good moments. Special thanks to Gokul for making it such a joyful experience. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone planning to explore the Rann of Kutch!

Our visit to Rann Utsav was an unforgettable experience filled with warmth, hospitality, and exceptional service. From the moment we arrived, everything was thoughtfully arranged and beautifully managed. A special mention goes to Kalyani Madam, whose constant support, coordination, and pleasant demeanour made our stay extremely comfortable. Her guidance and prompt assistance ensured that every aspect of our visit was smooth and enjoyable. We were equally impressed by our guide, Mr. Prince Soni, who made the entire trip insightful and engaging. His deep knowledge of the region, polite nature, and ability to explain the cultural heritage of Kutch added great value to our experience. The cluster heads and staff members also deserve appreciation for their professionalism and friendly service. Whether it was check-in, transport assistance, or daily activities, the team managed everything with efficiency and a smile. The food served—especially the authentic Gujarati cuisine—was delicious, fresh, and wonderfully prepared. Every meal reflected the rich flavours and traditions of Gujarat, making our dining experience truly delightful. The luxurious rooms offered the perfect blend of comfort and elegance. Spacious, clean, and well-maintained, they provided a relaxing environment to unwind after exploring the beautiful white desert. Overall, Rann Utsav exceeded all our expectations. From the hospitality to the food, from the accommodation to the cultural experiences, everything was exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone wishing to experience the beauty and culture of Kutch in the most memorable way.

Kadiya Dhro, located in the Kutch district of Gujarat, is a small hill surrounded by expansive white sand dunes, offering a picturesque destination for nature enthusiasts. Accessible via a rough 5 km route that requires hiring a jeep or vehicle due to its challenging terrain, this natural habitat features stunning landscapes and rock formations.
Wonderful place simple waterbody with rocky structures merely 35 Km from Bhuj city. From the main road you have two options, either pay and take Jeeps or you may ride on your own offroad trail of 3-4Km (best offroad experience). You will find water crossings, steep inclined rocky patches, sands and some bushy flat stretches. Such a great riding experience on my Himalayan. Please do visit this place .
Pankaj M — Google review
Travelers commend Kadiya Dhro for its serene and picturesque environment. The journey involves a 20-minute off-road ride, with jeep rentals costing around ₹1,000 for a round trip. Upon arrival, visitors are captivated by the canyon's beauty, with its layered rocks and flowing water offering excellent photography opportunities. However, caution is advised due to uneven terrain and deep holes. The site is also praised for its tranquility, providing a peaceful retreat away from crowded tourist spots. It's recommended to carry sufficient food and water, as amenities are limited.

Best place to visit for explorer.... It's nature wonder in kutch... Over the time.... River water has carved canyon , which is very interesting architecture of nature.... You needs local support to reach here...you need jeep because from local parking to reach this place there is forest route and it is off roading.... It is very good photography location and exploration place... You can spend 2 hrs here...

This place was discovered by local people during Corona times when all the other places were closed for spending times. Road to this places can only be accessed by 4*4 vehicles, which can be found near the parking lot. They charge around 1000 per jeep. Ride is of 25 minutes but very bumpy and enjoyable. You need atleast 1 hour to enjoy the place. I opted for evening as it was very hot during day time. These days there are many pre wedding shoots going on during early mornings. Overall a very enjoyable place.

Best place to visit during monsoon and winter. Also can enjoy off-roading for 5 km approx. Also be aware while roaming around cause of there are some risky areas as well. Some water logged seems normal but are risky and deep. There is no ticket or anything but you have to pay to the jeep guy.

The Little Rann of Kutch is a biosphere reserve known for prawn fishing, salt panning, and a sanctuary protecting native wildlife. In addition to this unique area, visitors can explore other attractions in the Kutch Region such as Mandvi Beach, Mata Na Madh temple, Narayan Sarovar, Koteshwar with its westernmost point in India and BSF checkpost near Pakistan.
You can book an a dessert safari through good resorts nearby, like the Rann Riders by Kaafila (Dasada), or if you stay here you can take a package which includes safari. In the evening we took the dessert safari and spotted wild asses, foxes, and flamingoes as we ventured through the serene landscapes, watching the absolutely beautiful. You will mostly find foreigners here more than Indian guests. If you live in Ahmedabad or nearby, this could be the perfect weekend trip place for you!

We did 7 safaris and found the beautiful desert fox cubs playing together, group of wild donkeys, nilgais, hyena, peregrine falcon, red-necked falcon, kestrel, Harriers, short-eared owl, Greater and Lesser Flamingos, cranes, pelicans, storks and many water birds etc. My Instagram : manikdas2020. It's a paradise for wildlife photographers. A must visit place for wild and nature lover. The sunrise and sunset is stunning. We stayed at Bhavna Resorts and Farm, the resort is good, food(only veg) quality is very good. Our guide was Iqbal LRK, very polite and nice man and hardworking also. Winter is the best time to visit, please avoid the summer, summers are very hot. Easily reachable from Ahmadabad around 3 hours of drive.

Explore yourself as you explore the unexplored. A place so serene yet severe, so peaceful yet scary..where your own breath whispers into your ears and nothing stirs for miles around...where you want to live forever, yet each passing moment weighs heavily as all you hear is air, all you see is flat, barren, arid, white salt land...where you can smell the sea but search in vain for water...where mirages dot the horizon of your sight and your mind...where everything is vacuum..just vacuum

The White Desert in Bhuj is a breathtaking natural marvel that feels like stepping onto another planet. Its vast salt flats create an enchanting landscape, where the dazzling white contrasts beautifully with the azure sky. As you explore this surreal terrain, don’t miss the intriguing rock formations of Kalo Dungar that add to its charm. Visiting during sunset offers a magical experience, especially when you can catch glimpses of the moon rising in the background.

Good spot to eat fresh kowa with tea. The bsf border is interesting place. The bsf security is very helpful guiding. Plz carry your gov id proof for entry else they send you back. The Shyamji Krishna Varma Memorial, located 4 kilometers from Mandvi, is a tribute to the late freedom fighter Shri Shyamaji Krishna Varma. The memorial was a dream project of the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi. It houses an exact replica of India House in London, which was established by Shyamji himself.
One of the best memorials I have ever come across. It's beautifully built with very simple and streamlined story narration by the guides who ensure you know what you are viewing. Photography is not allowed inside (not by phone also). A must visit place and specially as a tribute to the great people who were instrumental to India's independence.

Many individuals took on the might of the British to free India. Shyamji Krishna Varma chose to take this fight to British soil and made London his base. Shyamji Krishna Varma was born on 4th October, 1857 in Mandvi Kutch district of Gujarat. He was one of the foremost freedom fighters in the history of the freedom movement of India with high sense of patriotism and selfless service for the nation. He had organized a revolutionary center in “India House” at London and propagated the cause of India’s independence through his writings in his publication journal called The “Indian Sociologist” Shyamji Krishna Varma was not alone in his work. He join by many other great radical Indian Nationalists who are committ to free their motherland from the yoke of British rule. The Memorial’s objective is to pay tribute to the contribution of Shyamji Krishna Varma and also to educate the young generation about those great Indians who sacrificed everything for the country’s freedom must say that this is Best Places to Visit in Mandvi that every tourist don’t miss. Well made, well maintained memorial. The complex has a replica of India House, London, which was the residence of Shyamji Krishna Varma. There is an auditorium on the ground floor of the building where they show visitors a 20 minute video detailing the life & activities of the man. But the best bit is the expansive uninterruping view of Mandvi beach from the 2nd floor. Do take advantage of the cafe & toilet facilities in the complex.
