Farm Tomita is a renowned flower farm in Japan, particularly famous for its vast lavender fields. The farm offers visitors the chance to explore beautiful lavender plants and enjoy the scenic landscapes of Furano and Biei area. Additionally, visitors can indulge in lavender-infused treats such as ice cream and other local specialties available at the farm's shop. The farm also produces its own lavender extract, which is used to create their popular Lavender Soft Cream, offering a delightful taste with a refreshing aroma.
This is a beautiful scenic spot to enjoy seasonal flowers. The farm is large, and each area has its own vibrant color theme—purple lavender, bright red, sunny yellow, soft pink, and many other shades. It’s relaxing to walk around and take in the views from different angles, each corner offering a new photo opportunity. Across the farm, there are several souvenir shops and dessert stalls, with lavender ice cream being a highlight. We visited in August when many tour buses were here, but the space is wide enough that it didn’t feel too crowded inside. It’s an easy place to spend an hour or two enjoying nature, tasting local treats, and picking up gifts to bring home. We really enjoy the fresh green and orange melons as well as lavender icecream.
Pechaporn P — Google review
Farm Tomita in Furano is one of Hokkaidō’s most beautiful flower spots. In summer, the fields turn into waves of purple lavender, mixed with colorful flower rows that look like a painting. Walking through the gardens is relaxing, and the views of the fields with mountains in the background are stunning. Don’t miss the lavender soft cream—it’s fragrant and refreshing on a warm day. Entry is free, and you can also shop for lavender products like perfumes and soaps to take home. A must-visit if you travel to Furano in July or August.
Chalermchon S — Google review
🌸 A Living Masterpiece of Color and Fragrance Farm Tomita is nothing short of breathtaking—a true wonderland where nature and artistry blend seamlessly. The iconic lavender fields, stretching endlessly in waves of purple, are the crown jewel of the farm. When the breeze flows across, the entire hillside dances with lavender fragrance, creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere. It’s not just a visual delight but also a sensory journey that stays with you long after you leave. ⸻ 🌼 More Than Lavender – A Symphony of Flowers What makes Farm Tomita truly remarkable is that it’s not limited to lavender alone. The farm carefully cultivates a wide variety of seasonal flowers, painting the landscape in ever-changing patterns of color. Stripes of scarlet poppies, golden marigolds, snowy baby’s breath, and vibrant cosmos form breathtaking “rainbow fields” that look like a living painting under the Hokkaido sky. Each section feels like stepping into a different garden, each with its own charm and beauty. ⸻ 🌿 A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Care Farm Tomita doesn’t just showcase flowers—it represents decades of dedication to preserving and celebrating Hokkaido’s floral heritage. Walking through its fields, you can sense the meticulous care behind every bloom. The farm also offers unique lavender-based products—perfumes, essential oils, soaps, and even lavender ice cream—allowing visitors to take home a piece of this floral paradise. ⸻ 🌞 A Place to Slow Down and Feel Happiness Above all, Farm Tomita gives visitors something priceless: a sense of joy and peace. Whether it’s gazing at endless rows of lavender, enjoying the sweet fragrance in the air, or simply standing still to admire the vastness of colors, the farm reminds us how magical nature can be. It is not only a feast for the eyes but also nourishment for the soul. ⸻ ✨ In short: Farm Tomita is a place where flowers speak the language of beauty, harmony, and happiness—a destination that leaves every visitor inspired and enchanted.
Min M — Google review
It was my first time visiting a well-maintained lavender field, and being surrounded by the fragrant purple blossoms was both magical and fascinating—visually and aromatically. Purple is a rare color in nature; when you think about it, it’s actually not that easy to find naturally occurring purple around us. Here, you can also try lavender products like soaps, air fresheners, and even ice cream. As for the lavender ice cream… how should I put it? It’s not that it tasted bad, but it definitely felt a bit unusual. Let’s just say that until that moment, I had never imagined what fabric softener with lavender scent might taste like.
Johnny K — Google review
Visited on 29 Sep 2025 and didn't expect to see so many beautiful flowers here in autumn. There are far fewer crowds compared to spring and summer, allowing you to really enjoy the flower field. Recommend visiting in late September or early October if you're looking to avoid the heat and crowds.
Christo A — Google review
Charming farm! 🌻 Farm Tomita is a beautiful spot to experience Hokkaido's countryside and enjoy the vibrant lavender fields. A perfect place to relax and connect with nature 😊 But unfortunately, when I went there, the lavender flowers had already been harvested and at that time there were only other flowers.
Rachmad B — Google review
Probably the most famous flower fields in Furano given how all the tour buses were stopping here. Very crowded with tourists. The flower fields were nice and well maintained but I cant help to feel that other less crowded ones nearby were more lush and more enjoyable. Still, worth a visit. Especially enjoyed the gentle fragrance of lavender wafting in the air
Calvin C — Google review
After hearing about and seeing Farm Tomita in so many Furano itineraries, we definitely wanted to see as well even though we went in mid-October. There were some colourful flowers in bloom so it was pretty but obviously not as vibrant as in summer. Worth visiting for a few photos.

Nakafurano Hokuseiyama Lavender Fields is a charming festival held in mid-July when the lavender is in full bloom. Visitors can take a lift up Mount Hokusei to enjoy the stunning lavender-filled landscape and sweeping views over Nakafurano city. The festival features stage performances, allowing locals and visitors to picnic under the stars while being entertained. The flower fields are free to roam around, offering gorgeous views and fragrant lavenders.
The Hokuseiyama Lavender Fields in Nakafurano, Hokkaido, offer a captivating blend of natural beauty and cultural charm, making them a must-visit destination during the summer months. From mid-July to early August, the slopes of Hokuseiyama transform into a vibrant tapestry of lavender, featuring four distinct varieties. Among these is the rare white lavender "Misato Sekka," a unique sight in Hokkaido. The fields also showcase other colorful blooms like sunflowers, marigolds, and salvia, creating a picturesque landscape. Visitors can enhance their experience by taking a scenic chairlift ride to the summit, which operates from June 21 to August 31, 2025, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The round-trip fare is ¥700 for adults and ¥350 for junior high school students and younger, while preschoolers ride for free. From the top, one can enjoy panoramic views of the Tokachi Mountain Range and the Furano Basin, offering a serene and breathtaking perspective. The fields are open year-round, with free admission, and are easily accessible—approximately a 10-minute walk from JR Nakafurano Station. On-site amenities include ample parking, restrooms, and shops selling lavender-themed products and local delicacies, such as the popular lavender-flavored soft serve ice cream. For those seeking a tranquil yet visually stunning experience, the Hokuseiyama Lavender Fields provide an idyllic setting to immerse oneself in Hokkaido's floral splendor.
Neil A — Google review
This was the first lavender farm I’d been to in Japan. This one is in Naka-Furano. We followed the pathway painted purple from the train station to the farm…very easy. We paid 700 yen to go up and down on the chairlift. At the top, there are photo spots. We enjoyed our time at this small farm.
Sandra C — Google review
My wife and I arrived at the lavender field on one evening in July but the sun setting behind the hill had cast the entire field in shadows. The vibrant colours of flowers were subdued. So, we left and returned early the next morning. This time, the flower fields were lit under a clear blue sky. We were so early that our rental car was the only vehicle in the car park. There was no crowd and we almost enjoyed the flower fields to ourselves! The flowers were beautiful in the early morning light without strong sunlight and contrast. Some of the flowering plants have not fully grown in their plots, and the earth is visible between the plants. Notwithstanding, it was still a beautiful sight.
Jeff L — Google review
The chair lift was so much fun! There are a lot of photo stops at the top so it was definitely a memorable experience. Loved every moment of it!
Tina C — Google review
Beautiful flowers! Great place to chill since it's not crowded. The chair lift ride to the observation deck was fun 😁
Piaya P — Google review
Went on 16 June 2025. The chairlift price has increased to 700 yen for adults and 350 yen for children. Even though there are not a lot of flowers, it was still fun to go up and enjoy the view from up there.
Shuzhen C — Google review
A smaller flower field compared to others like Shikisai-oka or Tomiya farm next by, but I think it’s good to stop by if you have already been to the other places. There is free parking, ice cream, and especially a lift chair to take you to the top. Therr are also many set ups for sitting, relaxing, taking photos. I came during the summer holiday and oh my it was full of foreign tourists though…
Trang L — Google review
Prefer Farm Tomita than here, smaller and less lavender. However less crowded.

Flower Land Kamifurano is a charming flower farm that offers a delightful experience for visitors. The farm features a gift store and the opportunity to purchase fresh melons, as well as a restaurant where guests can enjoy delicious meals. Additionally, there are accommodation options available on-site, including affordable dormitory and private room options with shared bathrooms. This picturesque destination is perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature while enjoying various activities and amenities.
I visited Flower Land Kamifurano by electric bicycle, and it was truly one of the most peaceful and scenic places I’ve been to. The atmosphere is incredibly calm, surrounded by colorful flowers as far as the eye can see. The beautiful landscapes are so relaxing to look at, and it’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. The staff were also very kind and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
Mohammed ج — Google review
Nice farm that you can visit to look at the flowers. Their premise is quite big so, it's a nice walk in the summer. The flowers will only bloom in jul so, we were too early when we visited in may. There is a restaurant on site so, you can buy some food if you're hungry.
Kelvin C — Google review
Came in late september, still has some nice flowers but I can see about >50% of the fields are now past their prime. Still quite nice to walk around, small one story observatory. Small nice shop to purchase anything if needed.
Norman C — Google review
This tourist attraction is definitely an Instagramable must-visit for those who love flowers and colourful flowers at that - with the added bonus, for the more observant visitors, a backdrop of Mount Tokachi volcano that was billowing today when I visited this attraction this afternoon.
Edtayjb — Google review
Great place. Kamifurano. There is a great car park, so driving here is no problem. This place is great, beautiful thing. Like an ocean of flower 🌹🌺🌹🌺🌹🌺🌹🌺🌹🌺🌹🌺🌹🌺. It has sunflowers, most iconic flowers, and many more that comes in different colours and sizes and styles. It is just soooooooooooooio beautiful
Superuser L — Google review
Flower Land Kamifurano has expansive fields of different flowering plants. The fields are separated by walking paths. Because each field occupies a big area, it does not feel crowded and visitors can pose and take photographs anywhere along the perimeter of each field. Looking eastwards, Mount Tokachi and Daisetsuzan National Park are in the background, providing a picture-perfect postcard. When my wife and I were there in July, the flower blooms were fresh despite the summer heat. There were a few wedding couples present having their photographs taken. The different flower fields provided many opportunities for nice photographs. Walking downhill from the main entrance, there is an elevated and sheltered observation wooden deck which provides an overall view of the flower fields. A few benches on the deck provide rest to those who need it. At the end of our visit, we browsed the merchandise in the retail shop and enjoyed cut melon fruit which was very sweet and refreshing. We had a wonderful time enjoying the flower fields without the crowds. Best of all, Flower Land Kamifurano provides free entry! Highly recommended for a visit.
Jeff L — Google review
It was not crowded at all. Lavender season is over (nearly), but sunflowers are in full bloom. Free entry.

Very nice location. It's simplicity makes it far better than Tomita in my opinion. Very easy to take good quality photographs. Cafe was good to get some food for the road.

Hinode Park Lavender Garden is a serene spot, especially during the lavender season in June. It's popular for wedding photos and known among locals. The park offers various types of lavender, with some blooming early in the season. Visitors can enjoy free parking and entry to the hillside field, providing stunning views of the surroundings. While the lavender may wilt by late July, it remains a peaceful location with few crowds and even offers a picturesque sunset.
Although there weren't any lavender left when we go there in mid Aug, the view was still pretty and there were still some other kinds of flowers. Managed to take plenty of beautiful pictures.
J L — Google review
Hinode Park Lavender Garden, located in Kamifurano, Hokkaido, is a captivating destination renowned for its expansive lavender fields. Often hailed as the birthplace of lavender cultivation in Japan, the park is a historic landmark of Japanese floriculture. Its sweeping vistas and the enchanting fragrance of blooming lavender make it a picturesque locale, attracting visitors from across the globe. The garden's lavender fields span approximately 4.2 hectares, with the best viewing period from late June to late July. A late-blooming variety called "Okamurasaki" is mainly planted, allowing visitors to appreciate the lavender even towards the end of the season. In addition to lavender, the park is adorned with a variety of seasonal flowers such as catmint and marigold. One of the park's highlights is the 360-degree panoramic observatory, offering sweeping views of the Tokachi mountain range and the Furano Basin. A popular spot within the park is the "Bell of Love," where couples come to declare their love, set against the backdrop of the lavender fields. The park also features an auto-campground and cottages, making it a suitable base for outdoor enthusiasts. Each July, Hinode Park hosts the "Lavender Festa Kamifurano," a festival celebrating the lavender season. In 2025, the event will feature a light-up period from July 12th to 21st, illuminating the lavender fields from 19:30 to 21:30. On July 19th, the festival will include stage events, food and drink stalls, and group exhibitions, providing a magical nighttime experience. Hinode Park Lavender Garden is easily accessible, located about 1.4 km from JR Kamifurano Station, approximately a 15-minute walk. The park offers free parking and is open 24 hours, though some facilities may be closed during the winter season.
Neil A — Google review
Beautiful for sunset and greatest view of mt Tokachi-dake and other mountains at one spot. We were self driving but I can see only a short distance to walk up from the ground. Unfortunately lavender doesn’t turn purple until July. Yet, this is a great spot for the education of all mountains.
Felix C — Google review
Excellent place to visit without any need to buy tickets or queue for super long like farm tomato. This place is quieter and less crowded. The farm is beautiful and has variety too for close photography. Must visit after 9am as all the shops are closed and even the toilet is not open 🙂. Overall good place to visit.
Ravish M — Google review
June 24th 2025, wasn't crowded as the lighting show hasn't start yet until July. Different section of lavender has different bloom date, most of them will only bloom in mid July, nonetheless still a very nice place to visit in June, weather is fantastic as around 23C in the late afternoon.
Will T — Google review
I visited this park on a public holiday. The parking space was large and there was no need to wait for parking space. There was no need to buy tickets and there was free entrance. You should choose a day with blue sky so that the pictures taken would be more beautiful. When the peak there was a bell for you to ring. Many people took pictures with it and so did I. You could drive the car to the top of the peak and park there.
Kurtis L — Google review
Sadly the lavenders are changing colour. It is still beautiful and you can smell lavender in the air
Zixuan C — Google review
Lavender not in full bloom yet, however, not crowded and feels very nice to take in the breeze up on the hill!

Ningle Terrace is a charming collection of wooden cottages and workshops nestled in the woods, offering a picturesque setting for showcasing and selling traditional handicrafts. Visitors can explore the cozy log cabin-designed shops, each offering unique souvenirs and hand-crafted items. The serene forest surroundings provide a cool and inviting atmosphere, perfect for leisurely strolls and capturing Instagram-worthy moments. One of the standout shops features exquisite snowflake-themed silver jewelry, adding to the allure of this artisanal haven.
I visited this place in July 2025. The weather outside was quite hot (over 30°C), but once inside, it felt pleasantly cool and refreshing thanks to the many large trees providing shade. There is a parking area right in front of the entrance. The walking paths are made of sturdy wooden planks, making it easy to walk and not too steep. There are many charming little shops throughout the area, making it a great spot to browse for souvenirs or gifts to take home.
Peerasit T — Google review
Ningle Terrace feels like stepping into a little fairytale village, with rows of charming wooden cottages surrounded by trees. Each house sells unique handmade souvenirs, from candles to crafts, giving you something special to bring home instead of typical tourist gifts. It’s a pleasant place to stroll slowly, enjoy the atmosphere, and discover local creativity. The pathways are well kept and beautifully lit in the evening, which makes it even more magical. Parking is convenient with plenty of spaces available, so it’s easy to stop by even on a busy day. We spent about an hour just walking around and browsing the shops. It’s a peaceful and memorable stop, perfect for anyone who enjoys nature and artisanal items.
Pechaporn P — Google review
Magical, especially at evening/ night time when all the lights are twinkling against the back drop of the forest. We visited it as part of our Furano tour. Each hut housed individual artisan crafting leather goods, earrings, mini wooden windmills, and other wooden trinkets. The only caution noted are for the more mature visitors who might have a hard time with the steps which could be steep and sometimes slippery if wet or snowy. Other than that, this was a cute and fun place to explore.
Mei S — Google review
This is a place with beautiful scenery all year round, with a different atmosphere in every season. The small wooden cottages blend perfectly with the surroundings. The handmade crafts inside aren’t cheap, but they’re worth checking out if you’re interested. It’s located near the New Furano Prince Hotel and ski resort, so there are many visitors in winter. There’s only one road leading up here, and it can get a bit crowded during the peak winter season.
山の家 — Google review
If you ask me whether this place is beautiful — I’d say it’s really beautiful. But I drove quite a long way to get here, about an hour. I came during the autumn season, around 6:30 p.m., and most of the shops were already closed, though the lights were still beautifully lit. I’d say if you’re coming from far away and don’t have your own car, it might be a bit tricky to get here. But if you’re staying nearby and it’s easy for you to travel around, this place is definitely worth a visit. The cool October air made everything look even more wonderful. 🍂
Indira J — Google review
This place feels like it is in a fairy tale! Love the building design. There are many shops that sell hand crafted products and you may find something that interests you. The only issue that I cannot enjoy that much is there are many inserts like caterpillars, spiders and flies everywhere, other than that I will be really enjoying the time spent there.
Sheep M — Google review
it is a magical spot visit during winter night if you love the vibe of elf feel. However, it is crowded and difficult for me to enjoy it. It has a big parking spot. Next to it has a small amusement park which my kids enjoy it.

Furano Winery, established in 1972, is a renowned wine-producing region in Japan. The winery prides itself on using locally grown Furano grapes to create unique blends and has won multiple wine contests. The fluctuating temperatures of the Furano Basin provide a distinctive environment for growing grapes, allowing the winery flexibility in blending and bottling its wines. Visitors can enjoy tastings, observe the production process, and experience seasonal lavender blooms at the nearby fields.
You can come here and do a self guided tour of the winery for free. You can even visit the cellars and see their collections of wine. Very informative and there is even free sampling of wine at the 2nd level! You can purchase sample glasses of more premium wines at a very affordable price as well(couple of hundred yen). The wines are good and they arent expensive. There are many different types of red/white/ even sweet wines available for sale.
SL W — Google review
No one to guide us when we were there. So we just walked around and tried the free tasting wine. There are paid tasting wine too. Has a small souvenir shop where you can get wine and some snacks.
Irene L — Google review
A delightful stop for wine lovers in the heart of Hokkaido. Furano Winery offers an immersive experience, from the charming entrance at Chateau Furano to the cellar tours showcasing rows of oak barrels and beautifully aged bottles. The tasting area is well-stocked with a diverse selection of local wines, including their award-winning Portland white and fun collaborations with the Hokkaido Fighters. The wines are well-crafted, with a refreshing fruitiness characteristic of the region. Informative displays and a peek into the winemaking process round out a pleasant visit. A must-visit for those exploring the Furano area.
Isaac S — Google review
For non wine people, it was a decent experience and time here. Not too big, so 45mins is sufficient to spend here to taste some wine and browse the shop

Pleasant exploring the winery and learning the process of making red and white wine! You can taste 3 wines for free and many other wines at a small cost. You can buy many selections of wine there. They accept most credit cards (but not Youtrip), and they are not tax free at all.
Liau W — Google review
A nice place to visit. A 2 level building and display some local Furano wine. Reasonable price. They even have free and paid wine tasting. Beautiful area too and ample parking. Will be back

Our day trip to the town of Biei had us stopping here. Founded in 1972, views from here are very picturesque. EXPERIENCE: No active production can be seen here, like the majority of public Hokkaido manufacturing. Walk and read the signs if you wish. An aging room can be viewed behind glass windows but I wouldn’t stay in there long as it had a funky odor and what looked like black mold on the walls. Upstairs you’ll find a tasting room with a self-serve station featuring 2 types of white and 2 types of red wine dispensed from tiny barrels. Thereafter is the gift shop. TIP: Their grape juice factory is closed until 2025. OVERALL: Visit to taste the wine and purchase. Skip everything else.

Located about four kilometers to the east of the main Farm Tomita facility, Lavender East is a sprawling 14-hectare lavender field that offers a spectacular sight. Visitors can take a rustic tractor-drawn carriage ride through the expansive fields and enjoy the breathtaking views. The area was originally rice paddies before being transformed into the largest lavender fields in Furano.
Hot and scorching. Free entry. Do rmb to bring your UV umbrella along. This place is less touristy than Farm Tomita. You can get the same Farm Tomita merchandise here as well. This place is just a lavender farm so there is not much other flower varieties as compared to Farm Tomita. Didn’t take the tractor ride (500yen per adult) as it circles around the farm only. Prob can spend about 1hour here. There is a small section with 3 wells for you to try. do give it a try! The natural well waters are very cool to touch under the hot summer. 😌
Yvonne L — Google review
Highly recommended if you are already in the area. Get something from Farm Tomita or here even a soft serve will get you 200 yen off the tractor ticket. We came this morning, the second day they open for business this season. Not crowded at all and most of the visitors were Japanese. The lavender field is way bigger here and this is where they eventually harvest for making perfume and soap. A very good complement to the Farm Tomita main site.
Ling H — Google review
I visited Lavender East on 29th June, 2025. The view was nice but all Lavender not bloomed yet. You can take bus ticket to visit the entire Lavender farm, it take 500 yen/adult. This is the largest lavender farm in Japan. Also you can enjoy Tokachi volcano from here. Enjoy.
Saswati A — Google review
I quite enjoyed Farm Tomita. Unfortunately though the lavender was all but blossomed. I would recommend checking in advance so you avoid wasting time. Otherwise they have a nice lavender shop and multiple dessert places so you can always find something to do even if the weather is bad or lavender not blossomed.

Love this place. The aroma of lavender is in the air! We went there at 9 am, and no one was there yet so we had good time taking photos before the crowd comes at around 10am.There is a kinda bus ( tractor) that carry tourists for a ride around the lavender farm. This place is less crowded compared to the main Tomita Farm.
Alyrahman R — Google review
This is Farm Tomita's second area of fields in the bottom of the valley. There is a gift shop, food stand, toilets and a covered seating area. There are also far fewer visitors than at the main site. They offer tractor rides around the fields. This is where you come if you want a lavender field picture with no people in it.

This farm is not very big but it is beautiful. Although some area do not have colorful plant or flower, but it is still beautiful. Enjoy taking a scroll.

Very vast and endless fields of lavender—it was such a joy to see them. To be honest, the ice cream was just average, though the price was reasonable.

Furano Cheese Factory is a must-visit for cheese enthusiasts and food lovers. The factory offers tours, tastings, and workshops where visitors can learn to churn butter or make curds and whey from Hokkaido milk. The popular Wine Cheddar, the only cheese in Japan with wine in it, is a highlight among the dairy products made with fresh Furano milk. Additionally, there are wood-fired pizzerias and gourmet shops on-site.
Cheese Factory that sells various cheese products and conducts cheese, butter and ice cream making experiences. Attended the butter making (40min) and cheese making (1hr) experiences. Had fun working out the arms during the butter making. Had to shake the heavy in a glass bottle for 8 to 10 minutes. After that, hands were shaking and couldn't write properly. Salted the butter to taste and we could bring it home. Cheese making was not as 'strenuous', just some stirring and folding. Procedures were given for both sessions, and you could bring the instructions home. You are given a sticker to decorate and paste onto your container of butter or cheese. Those who made ice cream got to eat them after the session. There is also a restaurant selling pizzas baked there. Tried their margarita and onion pizzas. Yummy...

A great stop for anyone interested in cheese and local food production. The facility is clean, informative, and offers a look into how their famous cheese is made. You can watch part of the process through viewing windows and learn about different cheese types. The tasting samples are a nice bonus, and the freshly made cheese is delicious. Don’t miss the milk ice cream and pizza from the cafe next door. A peaceful, family-friendly spot surrounded by nature. Great for cheese lovers and curious travelers!
Peng C — Google review
Visited the Furano Cheese Factory which also includes an ice cream shop and a pizza kitchen. We even saw classrooms where students were learning how to make waffles and other desserts, which added a nice, hands-on vibe to the place. The most eye-catching item was the asparagus ice cream. It felt a little too adventurous for me, so I gave it a pass and tried other flavors instead. The ice cream was light, not too sweet, and really let the fresh milk flavor shine. Important heads-up: both the ice cream and pizza shops only accept cash. We were already running low on Japanese yen, so we ended up skipping the pizza despite being completely tempted by the amazing smell. Unfortunately, we had already bought the ice cream first. And since both of us are more into savory food, that was a bit of a regret. Lesson learned. Inside the main hall, there was a cheese tasting station where we sampled all the different cheeses on sale. We bought the one we liked most right after. Overall, it’s a chill and family-friendly stop with fresh milk, light desserts, great-smelling pizza and a fun little cheese lesson. Just remember to bring cash if you plan to indulge in everything.

I really love the cheese-flavored soft ice cream here – it’s my absolute favorite! Highly recommended in any season. The seating area is comfortable, and you can also enjoy making cheese and butter yourself. Their pizza is pretty good too!

When you visit Furano, you must visit this place to enjoy their milk, cheese cake and their Italian style pizza. From Furano station we took cab for 1550 yen in 10 minutes ride. They sell various cheese, milk nd butter made by their factory. They accept cash and card 💳 in their shop. To order pizza you must take the coupon order from vending machine , and pay it cash. The cost of the pizza 1000- 3000 yen, depend on the kind of pizza that you choose. Don't forget to visit theirices cream shop as well and try their cheese softcream. As I went by cab so I ask a favor the the ice cream shop keeper to help to call the cab back to furano station.
Dewi A — Google review
The factory experience is brief, with just three cheesemaking stages shown, but their products easily earn five stars!! The fresh milk is rich yet light, the cheesecake soft and airy, and the cheese soft serve is one of the thickest and smoothest we’ve ever tasted 😍 And they were reasonably priced too! Plus, there’s a large lawn where you can relax and enjoy your food 😌

Nature & Parks
Hinode Park is a seasonal park in Hokkaido, Japan, known for its picturesque rolling fields adorned with lavender and colorful flowers. The park features camping grounds and offers a breathtaking view of the wide scenic flower fields from its observatory deck. It is particularly popular from late May to late September when catnips, roses, and lavenders are in full bloom. The park also boasts the pure white Love Bell, believed to symbolize true love, making it a favorite spot for couples.
The park was filled with beautiful purple flowers in mid June. You can drive all the way up to the view point.
Yan X — Google review
Beautiful park with lavender fields over looking the northern part of Furano. Less tourists here which was welcome. So many couples taking marriage photos here, just as a testament to how beautiful this place is. Butterflies flying all around. A cafe up top. Ample parking. Toilets present. Vending machines to quench your thirst. Strongly recommended! You can even ring the bell in the middle and have a picture perfect frame of the lavender fields behind.
Oliver L — Google review
In July, we were at another lavender field in the late afternoon but the evening sun had cast its shadows across the field and the colours were darkened in the shadows. So, we drove to Hinode Park, having first checked on the Internet that the hill slope would be illuminated by the setting sun. We drove up to the hilltop at Hinode Park. Indeed, we were delighted that the setting sun lit up the lavender fields on the hill slope. It wasn't crowded in the evening. There were a few wedding couples having their photos taken amongst the lavender fields.
Jeff L — Google review
Very nice hilly park. However when I went in end of September, most of the flowers were not there anymore. The top of the observatory was nice however. Nice bonus view in the washrooms!
Norman C — Google review
Beautiful park with free admission and parking. Less crowded compared to Tomita. Visited here early July, lavenders are fully bloomed only in some fields and other flowers still in a young stage. Found 1 couple came here for pre-wedding 👰‍♀️🤵‍♂️and met 1 couple with a lovely dog 🐶
Chanapa — Google review
It's free and it's absolutely beautiful, especially if you come in the peak of summer when all the lavenders are in bloom. It's a lovely colourful garden with a scenic spot for romantic photos. Other times of the year, it's much quieter and less photogenic, but still nice.
Bent Z — Google review
I finally visited Hinode Park last week, having seen stunning photos of its lavender fields. Unfortunately, the gloomy weather made it feel more spacious than vibrant. 😅😅😅 Unlike Tomita Farm which still has flowers in early September, Hinode Park is quite low maintenance and lacked blooms during my visit. I’m definitely planning to return in June or July for the blooming season! A quick note to those visitors with elders and young children: it takes about 15 minutes to walk from the car park to the peak which has steps but well paved.
Natalie C — Google review
We were the only ones there when we visited the park and it was a lovely climb up the hill. Ringing the bell at the top of the hill was quite the experience and the views of Furano and surrounding areas were beautiful. A must visit when in Furano.

Restaurant
Furano Wine House is a modern venue offering stunning views of the countryside through its large windows. It is known for serving delicious dishes such as fondue, steaks, and Japanese barbecue, accompanied by locally produced wines. The restaurant provides an opportunity to savor Furano's famous cheese fondue made with local cheese, which is a rare find in Japan due to the region's reputation as a center for cheese making.
1. Location - it perched on top of a hill overlooking at the Furano town. Very beautiful. The property is unusually quiet and serene. 2. The food was fantastic. We ordered the set A that comes with the beef which we upgraded with the Hokkaido Wagyu and the set B with pork. Our son had the red wine beef while our daughter had pasta. For drinks, we chose the grape juice made from the wine grapes. Expectedly sweet, but not excessive. 3. The ambience was peaceful mostly, disrupted by occasional groups of tourist speaking at the top of their voices. The restaurant mostly arranged these groups in a separate room except a smaller group of elderly tourists. It would be a lot better if the diners could whisper. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant experience.
Choon L — Google review
The food, services, and atmosphere with a view like this place are all perfect 💯 It's absolutely one of the best fine dining in Hokkaido. All my family really enjoyed the experience (we came as a group of 50 people)
Anton K — Google review
Don’t think you can call yourself a Wine House if you fall short of standard restaurant practices and etiquette by so much. Perhaps I’m overly critical but I’m reviewing this as a wine lover. 1) Quality of wine is so low it was shocking. I regret not taking a look at cellar tracker before visiting the wine house. The low scores were indeed accurate. 2) Price of wine was comparable to entry tier European fine wines but obviously the quality was nowhere near. Around 3500-4000yen for crappy wine. 3) Selection of wines were extremely limited. Seriously you shouldn’t call yourself a wine house. The vintages were also not displayed in the menu and when queried, the vintages were all recent years with one vintage per type of wine. Now we move on to the food. It was mediocre. Overpriced. You can get much better food elsewhere in town. Don’t waste your time here. Extremely disappointed.
Tin K — Google review
Went there for dinner two nights ago. We were the only table there. Walked in without reservation. Cheese fondue was very good. We order extra fondue, extra bread and extra vegetables. Kids shared a four cheese pizza. And we had venison and Wagyu steaks. Also had a bottle of Furano wine. Very fruity and went well with the food which was made with local ingredients. Bill was more than 50,000 yen which was a lot more compared to the other local restaurants. But we did enjoyed the food.
Stella T — Google review
We first visited the wine house in the basement. Cool experience and they allow samples of their wine without the pushy sales experience. There are also barrels upon barrels of wine in the cellar. At the upper deck, there is a restaurant. We ordered cheese fondue and loved it. Could do with a little more vegetables, but the experience was memorable
Rachel — Google review
Visited on Feb 2024, noon. Menu largely consists of various Western-style steaks, and they are generally decent and prepared quickly. I felt that the cheese fondue's not worth it, despite how delicious the name and the pictures look.
Sam — Google review
Restaurant with amazing view and fantastic wine. I’ve ordered the white wine and the taste of the wine is really special, it doesn’t taste really strong of the alcohol however it has a really fragrant smell. The cheese fondue is pretty delicious and the pork patty is quite tender and overall is quite a good experience.

It was great to meet and talk with the artist while enjoying his creations over the years. The grounds are very peaceful and the cats are very friendly.

(Translated by Google) This is a landscape art museum and a garden. There is also a stone statue of Mary and a prayer hut. The manager gave us an explanation. There are also many cats in the garden, so it is also recommended for cat lovers. (Original) 風景画の美術館と、庭園です。マリア像と言われる石像や祈りの小屋もあります。 管理人からの説明もしてもらいました。 なお、庭には、猫がたくさんいますので、猫好きな方にもお勧めですね。

(Translated by Google) At first glance, I couldn't find where the tickets were sold, so I headed towards the garden. It would have been helpful if there was a sign indicating the museum was open at the entrance to the building on the right. There were lots of cats in the garden, some of them very friendly. It might be a good place for cat lovers. They also sell cat food. There were carp swimming in the pond. More than anything, the stones were quite fascinating, and while I was talking about them with the curator, he also gave me a detailed explanation about the stones in the museum's stone exhibition area. It was after hours, but thank you very much. There were many rare stones, so it's definitely worth a visit for rock lovers.
