Shopping mall
Shopping
Manufaktura, located in Lodz, is a former 19th-century cotton factory that has been transformed into a vibrant shopping mall and entertainment complex. The project's success has revitalized the city's profile and demonstrated its resilience. Visitors can explore the site's history at The Museum of the Factory and appreciate contemporary art at MS2 gallery.
Manufaktura in Łódź is an impressive shopping centre and cultural spot. The old factory buildings give it a unique character, mixing history with modern shops, restaurants, and entertainment. There’s plenty of space to walk around, lots of dining options, and a vibrant atmosphere both day and night. A must-visit when in Łódź.
Knut B — Google review
Huge area with perfect brick building and many shops. You should spend 3 hours here to check the shops which offer world brands and brands of Poland. It's very lively and crowded yet still safe. There are some nice restaurants as well. You can use tram to anywhere and even walk to here. This place is the meeting point for people.
Aygül Z — Google review
There is a little of everything plan your visit to stay about at least 2 hours. There's a palace right on the premises that takes at least an hour to two to walk around. There are many stores and there are many many places to eat. Just a lovely place to walk around the fountains are amazing
Avogato1300 — Google review
Inside, it's a large shopping mall like many others around the world. But what's interesting are the old and beautiful buildings that have undergone the transformation from factory buildings to leisure facilities.
Carsten — Google review
HUGE shopping mall with a huge food court. All the best brands are here, so are the restaurants. Inside the old textile complex so it is a visual treat too
Samina K — Google review
It's a shopping centre. A clean, nice, friendly, smiling, welcoming shopping centre. It's a good re-utilisation and re-imagining of former industrial buildings and open area with plenty of playground space and entertainment venues. But it is still a shopping centre.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Piotrkowska is a vibrant 4.2 km-long street in Lodz, known for its bustling atmosphere, diverse shopping options, artistic flair, and a wide array of restaurants and beer gardens. The northern half of the street is particularly appealing to visitors, offering an eclectic mix of shops, bars, cafes, and dining establishments. Meanwhile, the southern half provides a more tranquil experience with its straight cycle path and the nearby Reymonta Park.
Amazing street, filled with restaurants and shops. I would say the heart of the city. Lots of palacial buildings. This is where the well-off used to live back in the glory days.

Great to walk and see monuments, street art and close to Manufaktura. Doesn't offer places for lunch and dinner when I compare to other cities in other countries. Might still be cool to have coffee and alcohol tho. Update:Perfect light move festival!!! Must see.

"OFF Piotrkowska" is a historic route in Lodz, once a major city axis and now a bustling promenade lined with beautifully renovated tenement houses. It has become a symbol of Lodz's transformation, featuring creative workshops, concept stores, art studios, and trendy restaurants. This trendy alternative to Manufaktura is located in a former industrial cotton mill dating back to the 19th century.
Modern reconstruction of the old factories street rebuilt to restaurants and shops. Nice to vusit and just only walk through.
Radek D — Google review
The spot feels overhyped at this point. The vibe is cool with its industrial look, but the food is pretty generic and soulless, with prices that don’t match the quality. Feels like they rely more on the “cool factor” than the actual food. Worth a quick visit, but don’t expect much. Perfect for a drink tho

Radegast Train Station, located in the Baluty district, served as a crucial transport hub during the Holocaust, connecting German territories to the Auschwitz and Chelmno extermination camps. Today, it stands as a memorial to honor the victims of this dark period in history. The station has been restored and features three original cattle trucks that were used to transport prisoners.
Welcoming and knowledgeable guide, fantastic memorials with a huge range and depth of information. We visited on Wednesday so went in for free. Blown away by the model of the ghetto, and the accompanying audio was enlightening. Highly recommend!
Sam B — Google review
Radegast Train Station is the railroad hub or spur that was the center point of deportation to the extermination camp(s) or vernichtungslager. This was performed under the implementation of Operation Reinhard. Although people were transported at first to extermination camp Chełmno nad Nerem and later to Auschwitz. Nice little museum with a model of the city that is interactive.

A solem place to remember. Very good historical information, with a English version of the change to the affected people.
Raj B — Google review
Hard to give a place that is so dark five stars. That this happened only a few decades before I was born really brings the horrors home. Understand, just facts showing the progress from ejecting a people from their homes to enslaving then killing them. One of those places you have to visit just to get some understanding of how this happens and happens again. How a people can be managed towards their own destruction.
George P — Google review
It's an amazing and humcbling piece of history!

Very interesting and poignant place. I actually had no idea it existed until a local guide at Jewish cemetery advised us of it! Well preserved piece of difficult history with very useful information about the Jews who were transported out of Lodz to concentration camps. Well worth the detour and visit.

The Central Museum of Textiles, located in Lodz, Poland, is housed in a renovated historical textile mill. The museum offers exhibits on various topics such as design and manufacturing, showcasing period machinery including old looms and weaving equipment. One of the highlights is the 'CITY - FASHION - MACHINE' exhibition that delves into the history of the City of Weavers and the development of the textile industry.
The museum presents an extensive history of the textile industry in Lodz. The exhibitions give a glimpse into the everyday life of workers from different eras, from the 1820s to the 1980s. The textile industry plays a significant role in the history of the city and has also had a great influence on the growth of the city, and this is also presented very extensively. The exhibitions also present the history of textile manufacturing and the development of its industrial production. One part of the museum focuses on textile art and also clothing and fashion design. There are art objects and outfits presented at fashion shows on display. The museum is accessible to people with disabilities almost everywhere. There are guides in different sections who tell about the history and the objects. Unfortunately, the guides were only in Polish.
Tapani T — Google review
A completely unexpected and enriching experience Honestly, I went to the museum without much context about what I was about to see. I only knew it had something to do with the textile history of Łódź, so everything came as a great surprise. At the beginning, I came across an exhibition dedicated to the Polish designer Arkadius, who was internationally known at one point. The exhibit is visually striking, with very unique silhouettes and designs, and it also tells the fascinating story of the designer himself. The museum then continues with a section focused on the textile industry, showcasing original machinery and several demonstrations of the production process. But what truly impacted me was the part dedicated to the Łódź Ghetto and the forced labor carried out there during the German occupation. One of the things that caught my attention the most was reading that the concept of “upcycling,” which is so trendy today, was already being applied back then—tragically so. Many people entering the ghetto were forced to hand over their belongings, which were then reused to create new items. There’s also a powerful reflection on the role of clothing as a means of personal expression, and how that is stripped away under dictatorships or totalitarian regimes, where even the freedom to dress is taken from individuals. Additionally, the museum features incredibly well-preserved wooden houses, which add depth to the experience. It’s a visit that can take several hours and one I highly recommend. Deeply moving and informative.
Mariana B — Google review
What an amazing place, both permanent and temporary exhibitions are very interesting. There are houses of different periods from 1895 to 1980-s that depict life of ordinary Lodz people at that time. Also textile equipment fabric samples, fashion section. I particularly was curious about temporary exhibition on textile production in Lodz ghetto during WW2. Definitely recommend
Artem M — Google review
Interesting and well maintained museum. I especially liked the skansen with the small houses presenting the life in the old times, the villa, the presentation of the waving machines, and the retro clothes exhibition. I recommend to plan at least 3 hours for the visit. Everywhere friendly staff. A ticket for all areas was 49 PLN.
Peter V — Google review
The weavers houses with an insight into lives in different eras are amazing. The museum has a lot of incredible objects and is quite large. Loved the fabric microscope, the fact that some weaving machines run every hour and the beautiful art in the on site Mansion. The staff at the entrance was friendly and fun. Absolute must if you're in Lodz!
Felix S — Google review
Very impressive museum! ✨ Inside is like a small town to show how was the life for workers in old times, it suddenly drive you to that moment when you enter ❤️ And of course here you can find lots of old textile machines, and the machine will be turned on every half of hour if you want to see how exactly it is working 🧵Moreover, you will have a chance to feel the old fashion of clothes👗 Last but not least, if you would like to see every corner of the museum, be prepared for a 2 hour visiting.

Impressive museum! From outside you don't expect much, then inside is a huge surprise. You have traditional homes to visit and see how life was in different periods of Polish history, amazing. The textile factory museum also very interesting to understand how it has evolved and influenced the life of the city. Congratulations to Łódz on this amazing place.

Browar Księży Młyn is a refined brewery housed in a two-story redbrick warehouse, offering an elegant dining experience and outdoor courtyard seating. Located in the picturesque area of Ksiezy Mlyn, it was once a self-contained residential district with worker housing, schools, and hospitals. The historic cloth factory has been revitalized into museums and lofts while preserving remnants of its former glory like the Herbst Palace.
Its a nice place to drink good beers and eat something. Staffs were friendly and supportive. Recommend salad as it was good (grilled vegetables) , burger was fine. Prices are a bit high compared with living cost in Łodz. But its worth to try! Will come back if we have chance to visit this city again.

Sometimes 5 starts is not enough. The food is so delicious. We order burger and chicken with mushrooms and pure. Ao delicious. I hope no one feel over exaggerating because the food really is delicious. Also beer are made by them so Łódź i will come back for you more and more specially Ksiezy Młyn

It's a stylish venue with a shady beer garden. They have an excellent selection of craft beers brewed on the premises. And some pretty tasty pizzas cooked in a wood fired oven. Prices are reasonable and the staff and atmosphere complete a great experience.

One of my favorite places in Łódź. Good atmosphere and interior, nice to seat outside during summer and as good inside. Great beers from their own brewery. They have set of seasonal beer tasting if you can not to choose what to order. About food, all dishes that we had here were delicious, especially meat.

Just having a so fun experience with various beers degustation is already worth a visit to such a famous place !! -- but there is also a wide choice of excellent food !! Don't miss !!

They have a classic pizza oven which uses woods to bake; it's cool actually. Atmosphere was nice, food was good. But the price is cosmic. It's not a 5 star hotel/restaurant. For 300ml water you'll pay 9pln. For my pizza, i paid 42pln. Is it worth it?

Relaxed local brewery with lounge garden, craft beers and fresh pizza from oven. Modern interior. High quality, high priced beer. Didn't try any food but looked tasty. Diverse menu.

Cemetery
Sights & Landmarks
The Jewish cemetery in Łódź, located on Bracka St., is a sprawling 44-hectare burial ground and one of the largest in Europe. It is estimated that up to 200,000 individuals have been laid to rest here, with gravestones bearing Hebrew, Polish, and German inscriptions. The site includes a striking funeral hall at the entrance and features diverse symbolism on tombstones reflecting Jewish traditions.
It’s a bit sad but peaceful. Lots of green and some graves are too artistic. There is an entrance fee of 18zlot and on Sundays is closing at 1pm and not 3pm.
Maria A — Google review
It is place of importance, entrance is through funeral house that hosts an exhibition. The cemetery itself is not very well maintained but it adds the value with all those old tombstones. Ghetto fields… Ticket is 20PLN. There is large parking farther behind main entrance.
Amarok S — Google review
A beautiful place, full of history and art. It’s a shame, however, that you have to pay 20 PLN (about 4.7 EUR) to access the site, which makes little sense given how poorly it is maintained by the managers. In addition, the fact that male visitors are not instructed to cover their heads is quite disrespectful. Many workers were smoking instead of working, and the few who were working were cutting grass in front of the cash office rather than tending to neglected areas such as the Ghetto fields. All in all, it is a great place, but very poorly managed.
Michele M — Google review
Really atmospheric place, breathtaking mauzoleums, old graves, looks especially picturesque in the autumn. I was a bit disappointed you have to pay for the entrance or maybe it was just for the mortuary museum and Holocaust photo gallery. But definitely recommend to visit.
Artem M — Google review
The cemetery is beautiful and haunting. I visited from USA to see my great grandmothers grave and unfortunately there is so much distress and ruins in the area she was buried that I could not find her tombstone. Very heart breaking and disappointing that I could not visit her.
Hannah C — Google review
Heritage deserves respect, and tombs deserve dignity. I find it disgraceful how an entrance fee of 20 pln is mandatory, which should simply not exist, and if you charge, at least put that money to work. I saw tons of people cutting grass at the entrance, when the actual cemetery was a complete overgrown forest, tons of garbage around, not one male visitor wearing a kippah. The ghetto fields were completely overgrown. The men who apparently were “working”, cigarettes in hand, laughing out loud. Complete disrespect. This is not only a cemetery, is the last resting place of Holocaust victims. Show some respect!
Paula V — Google review
Profound Cemetery and Memorial. Take note there is only one entrance - small door at middle of East Wall.
Corey K — Google review
As a whole the cemetery is well maintained although there are many tombstones that have been damaged or otherwise fallen into disrepair. There are approximately 43k victims of the Lodz Ghetto buried in the 'Ghetto Field' part of the cemetery (left side, back part of the cemetery). When this cemetery was originally inaugurated it was the largest Jewish cemetery in Europe, and to date there are approximately 230k graves on the premises. For those looking to visit Rabbi Eliyahu Chaim M'Lodz Meisel: his grave is located just as you enter on the right, first row, in the second gated area.

What an exquisite place! Absolutely stunning architecture and interiors! It wasn’t just an empty palace - every room was furnished and you felt like you were transported back in time. My favorite detail were elaborate tiled fireplaces. Make sure you stop for coffee in the rose garden ☕️ 🌹
Malvina M — Google review
Herbst Palace and its gardens were a very pleasant surprise. The history of town influential families of the time is told with recreations of the living, dining and socializing quarters. Walk around the lower ground to start where you’ll learn about the history of where you’re standing and of Łódź. Then the helpful staff will direct you to another floor where you can admire the old fireplaces, linens and overall interior decorating. Once you’ve finished visiting the tasteful interior of the palace, you can then venture to the carriage house where there’s an art exhibit. What’s more, there’s a charming garden complete with benches and a place to get a refreshment or snack. It is possible to buy a combination ticket that grants access to the Herbst Palace and to MS1 and MS2 museums over two days. Did not know what to expect and left very satisfied. Highly recommend.
Nanita — Google review
Great place, but there is too much personel assigned only to show you where to go, slightly annoying. There are few good recreations of rooms, nice history films. Stunning garden, refreshing tea.
Adam1x — Google review
One of many splendid houses in lodz textile district that are well worth visiting. They also have a beautiful garden that surrounds the palace. There are many good coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Step R — Google review
The Herbst Palace is another treasure of my hometown, Łódź. Built in the late 19th century for Edward Herbst, who married into the Scheibler family – one of the great textile dynasties – it perfectly captures the elegance and lifestyle of the city’s industrial elite. The interiors are beautifully preserved, with richly furnished salons, a grand dining room, and cozy family spaces that make it feel like a real home rather than just a museum. What makes it even more special is the outstanding art gallery housed inside. The collection includes works by some of Poland’s most important painters, and it’s one of the best places in Łódź to enjoy fine art in an intimate, historic setting. The palace gardens are also a highlight – quiet, romantic, and a perfect place to stroll after exploring the exhibits. The Herbst Museum tells a different side of Łódź’s story compared to the grand Poznański Palace: it’s more personal, refined, and intimate, giving you a glimpse into how one of the city’s wealthiest families lived day to day. For anyone visiting Łódź, this place is an absolute must along with Poznański Palace – together they show both the industrial power and cultural richness of the city I’m proud to call home.
Przemyslaw K — Google review
I absolutely loved it!! The garden was so cute and has a gallery too to visit, besides the palace which it’s also fantastic! I loved the heaters in every room and the porcelain decoration! Totally recommend it!
Maria A — Google review
The Herbst Palace is one of the pearls of Łódź. The villa was built in 1876 for the daughter of the largest entrepreneur in Łódź, Karol Scheibler - Matylda and her husband Edward Herbst, who after the death of his father-in-law became the director of the Scheibler textile plant🏭 👉 Currently you can watch the restored interiors of the palace, which was destroyed in the times of Poland. Unfortunately, there is no Herbst family furniture here, but there are period pieces. Beautiful tiled stoves are impressive, just like the ballroom or mirror room 💛 In the summer, it's worth visiting the rose gardens and the art gallery, where the paintings of Gierymski, Matejko, Tetmajer reign. Therefore, I recommend not to give up the ticket to the gallery. Sightseeing time about 2.5 hours
Justyna T — Google review

Very nice zoo. It took us about 5 hours to explore everything, and still there was no time left for the children’s outdoor activities. So next time we will plan to spend the whole day there. There are nice places for having a snack or lunch. We visited in the middle of the week, so it was not crowded. The butterflies definitely left a special memory for us. However, the main attraction – the elephants’ “spa” – felt a bit sad for me personally. Such gorgeous and huge animals playing in a small pool seemed more like exploitation than real joy. But for the rest of our group it was entertaining :) probably that was not nice only for me🫣 Just note: many people want to see this attraction, so it’s best to come early. And definitely buy tickets in advance. We had no queue when entering the zoo.

The ZOO is very beautiful and spacious with many different animal species, the speciality is the beautifully varied huge Aquarium, where one is left speechless = very commendable. The tickets may be a little higher, but the price of parking is really too expensive! I would still recommend a visit for the Aquarium.

Nice, clean, well structured and modern zoo. We enjoyed the stay with the two children. Many things to do. Very new areas for elephants, fish aligators and orangutans. It was very crowded, but in vacation season. Parking was difficult, we had to walk 20 minutes. Price was good. Lot of different food available.

Our family—my wife, our two young children (one still in a stroller), and I—recently made a weekend trip from Warsaw to visit the Orientarium Zoo in Łódź, and we were genuinely impressed. Having visited several zoos across Poland and Europe, we can confidently say that Łódź’s zoo offers a unique blend of modern design, rich biodiversity, and family-friendly amenities that make it an ideal day trip for families with young kids. The drive from Warsaw took us just under two hours. It’s a relatively easy and scenic route, especially if you time it to avoid rush hour. Once we arrived, we were pleased to find ample parking right outside the zoo grounds. There are multiple parking lots available, including a larger one adjacent to the Aquapark Fala, which is just a short walk from the zoo entrance. The signage was clear, and we didn’t have to circle around to find a spot—a small but significant relief when you have two kids and a stroller in tow. The parking fee was reasonable (about 10–15 PLN for several hours), and payment machines accepted cards, which made things convenient. There are also drop-off zones for those who want to unload before parking, a thoughtful touch for families like ours. From the moment we walked in, the place felt clean, modern, and well-organized. The entrance process was smooth—there are designated lanes for families and strollers, and ticket purchasing is available both online and on-site. We opted to buy tickets online in advance, which saved us from standing in a short but steady queue. As parents traveling with a stroller, accessibility was a top concern, and I’m happy to report that Łódź Zoo exceeded our expectations. Wide pathways, gently sloping ramps, and multiple elevator-equipped areas made it easy to navigate. There were also several shaded resting areas and benches throughout the zoo, allowing us to take breaks without feeling rushed. The bathroom facilities were clean and modern, with family changing stations and dedicated baby-care areas—something we deeply appreciated during diaper changes and feeding breaks. The Orientarium, the zoo’s most modern and talked-about attraction, absolutely lived up to the hype. It’s a large, immersive space showcasing Asian species like orangutans, gibbons, and elephants. The highlight was undoubtedly the underwater tunnel, where we got to walk beneath a massive aquarium filled with sharks, rays, and exotic fish. Our toddler’s eyes lit up with wonder, and even the baby was mesmerized by the moving lights and colorful fish. What stood out to us was how close and personal the animal enclosures felt, without compromising safety or ethical standards. The design encourages kids to engage—there are glass viewing areas at child’s eye level, interactive screens, and even low perches to let the little ones peek over without being lifted. Big Cats Section: The tiger and lion enclosures were thoughtfully laid out, and we happened to arrive during feeding time—always a crowd-pleaser for the kids. Petting Zoo: This was a gentle, calmer zone where our older child got to feed goats and sheep. Handwashing stations were placed nearby, which was reassuring. Playgrounds: Scattered throughout the zoo were small play areas that offered a perfect break from walking and animal-watching. These zones had climbing structures, slides, and shaded seating for parents. There are several cafés and kiosks offering food and drink. We had a decent lunch at the main food court—typical Polish fast food fare (zapiekanki, kiełbasa, fries), but tasty and well-priced. There were also plenty of options for snacks and ice cream, which helped us bribe the kids through the last hour of our visit. For families with toddlers and babies, there are microwave stations and bottle warming areas in the food courts, a great addition we didn’t expect but happily used.

An incredible zoo, perhaps one of a kind. Huge, hundreds of animals, amazing experience. I look forward to returning back there. A true Southeast Asian environment in Europe.

Nice and big modern zoo. There is new hall for elephants, monkeys, and big tank for fish (inc. fantastic tunnel). It takes at least 2h to walk all the zoo. A lot of refreshments are close to the entrance. For kids, there is a rope park. Entrance fee is high (270PLN for 2 adult + 2 kids + 50PLN car parking). There is no free map of the zoo - you must buy for 10PLN.

The Łódź Zoo offers an impressive variety of beautiful animals, each displayed in spacious and well-maintained enclosures. Our visit left us truly amazed by the diversity of species and the care taken to create a welcoming, educational environment.

It was quite difficult to get there, I'm disappointed with the quality of the image, it was barely visible, dark, or maybe the projector was broken. I was with my son, we wanted to buy some souvenirs associated with the planetarium but there were none, the same with some cafe where you could wait for the show, another thing is the lack of parking, the one recommended on google is some kind of mini parking, the next 40 minutes we drove around the centre of Lodz trying to find some legal place to park. Rather without recommendation at the moment.

We were late for 2 minutes running trough entire city to go to planetarium. Lady on infopoint said that it’s too late. It’s very very disappointing. My kids are crying entire evening because of this.

I've visited the museum and it was pretty nice. Nothing is written in English at the entrance, but don't worry. Inside everything is presented in Polish, English and French. The price is a too expensive for the length of the exposition, even for some people that love this kind of stuff.

I expected something more exciting. Movie was extremely boring (Apollo mission),no 3D glasses, not allowed to eat popcorn or drink in the cinema. 15mins introduction in Polish, more boring then lesson in primary school then movie.I took headphones with English language but I couldn't hear a ward. Headphones are rubbish like from £1 shop and the music and polish language is so loud that it's impossible to hear anything in English. I understood polish but I took headphones for my wife and son. To be honest it doesn't even matter if people could hear with headphones or not because it was terribly boring. I struggled to stay to the end.

Very enjoyable, informative and great visual effects. The intro and the conclusion are in Polish but the main video is English. I saw "undiscovered worlds" which was made for Boston planetarium. It cost 7.5GBP for 2 adulti ticket. Definitely worth it.

Nestled within a historic 19th-century weaving mill, the MS2 Art Museum is a gem in the vibrant Manufaktura complex of Lodz. This contemporary art haven showcases an impressive array of works from both Polish and international artists, spanning the 20th and 21st centuries. The museum's dynamic collection is ever-evolving, with exhibitions curated by invited artists that keep visitors coming back for fresh perspectives.
A fine place if you appreciate modern and contemporary art! Located in a modern building which enhances the experience of entering and experiencing modern art! Inside a shopping mall, which is a contradiction of terms and sort of an irony!
Nikos T — Google review
Bought ticket only to know that the museum is under renovation and you get to see only the 1st floor which also doesn't offers a lot to be seen but there's just a room full of dices 🎲 where you can play a game of rolling the dice and finding the matching numbers amongst them. 2 stars rating because at least I saw something and also won the dice's game! If the museum is under renovation, why don't you disable the option of buying tickets online? It's been such a disappointment to not being able to see anything at all. When I asked for a refund at the ticket counter, I was told that it's not possible to get a refund. The lady said that you can come again on a free admission day but they don't understand that I bought a ticket so as to have access to an open storage for which I'll have to buy the ticket again in the future. Besides, it's not easy to travel again and again if you don't live in Łódź. She also claimed that the website has all the details, which is not true. Otherwise, why would I buy ticket and waste my time, energy and money to visit them? If you're planning a visit from a far away place, I would highly recommend calling them and asking if the renovation is done even before you buy tickets otherwise you'll be disappointed just like me.

The MS2 is a modern contemporary art museum located in a refurbished building near a newly developed commercial center. Aside from the impressive building that it is in, the permanent exhibits are worthy of attention. Take note, it’s possible to buy a ticket that lets you into MS1, MS2 and the Herbst Palace. It is definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

There are two parts of exhibition. One is for art which has 3 showing floors and the other 'the great war' is underground, but I didn't go. Each ticket is 15 zł. It's a bit uncomfortable that the staffs in the museum is always trying to find where I'm while I was walking in there.

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Łódź is a historical Orthodox church that was consecrated in 1884. This neo-Byzantine structure with its ornate interior and stained-glass windows is one of the most beautiful landmarks in the city. The cathedral's blue domes and valuable iconostasis from Saint Petersburg make it a must-see for visitors. Built as a philanthropic project, it stands as a reminder of Łódź's history under the Russian Empire.
This is a cute and colorful little church. I think worth to visit outside, but unfortunately it is not possible to go inside (in spite of the opening hours), which is really a pity.

Beautiful and tiny church with attractive architecture. Not possible to visit inside of this church because of limited opening hours for visitors. There is interesting history about this Alexander Nevsky Cathedral which should everyone read on the official website. This church completed in April 1884 but the foundation stone was laid in around 1872, when were only 39 orthodox believers in Łódź.

Nice place in Łódź. I would actually call it more of a electricity museum than just science. When we were there, some attractions were closed, and unfortunately the entire 6th floor “Moon sector” was not available. I would recommend buying tickets in advance (we had a combined ticket with the zoo) – there was no queue at all. On a weekday it wasn’t crowded, which made the visit even more pleasant. It was fun collecting stamps on each floor. Don’t forget to take a special card at the entrance or on the 2nd floor and try to find all the stamping machines :)

If you are wondering how the electricity that powers your phone is created, you must visit this place! The EC1 Science and Technology Center in Łódź was created from a former power plant (later also a heating plant), which was established in 1907. He educates through experiences and experiments. There are three paths of knowledge here: energy processing, development of knowledge and civilization, and the mysteries of the world. (this on a macro and also a micro scale). On the high cooling chimney there is an observation deck, from which there is a wonderful view of Łódź.

The Museum of the City of Lodz is housed in a historic palace that was once the residence of Izrael K. Poznanski, one of the wealthiest factory owners in 19th century Lodz. The museum showcases art and objects related to the city's history and culture, including exhibitions on industrial Lodz, famous residents like Artur Rubinstein and Julian Tuwim, as well as the multicultural heritage of the city.
A stunning palace full of history and elegance. The interiors are beautifully preserved, showcasing the wealth and taste of the Poznański family. A must-see in Łódź — both for the architecture and the museum’s rich exhibits. It’s a quick visit and it’s right beside the Manufaktura. Tickets are cheap.

Go to that museum if you want to learn the history of this wonderful city by heart. The museum, that is converted from a palace, is highly attractive with beautiful art pieces, elegant decorations and spectacular views of the garden around it. Our visit lasted roughly 2 hours and it was pleasant to walk through the rooms and corridors of a historical building. Afterwards you are directed to a more of an informative area which is located downstairs of the palace wherein you can read and learn about the history of the city through maps, illustrations, articles, and items that were used at various times of its history. After visiting through a clear and explanatory section you reach a little yet interesting library full of amazing old books, mainly in Polish. Last but not least, by purchasing the ticket you also get an access to the garden of the palace which is normally not open to public free of charge. It is not surprisingly fantastic :) Never skip this museum if you are staying or just passing by Lodz!

Being from Łódź, I can say without hesitation that Poznański Palace is the pride of my hometown. Built by Izrael Poznański, one of the wealthiest textile magnates of the 19th century, it’s a symbol of the city’s industrial golden age. The scale and elegance of the palace are stunning – from richly decorated halls and grand staircases to intricate woodwork, chandeliers, and stained glass windows. Walking through it feels like stepping back in time to when Łódź was booming as a textile capital. Today the palace houses the Museum of the City of Łódź, which not only tells the fascinating story of the city’s past but also includes the Artur Rubinstein Museum. This part is especially moving – a tribute to one of the world’s greatest pianists, born right here in Łódź. It’s inspiring to see both the industrial legacy and the cultural heritage presented under one roof. The gardens outside are the perfect finishing touch – peaceful, green, and beautifully kept.

A must-visit in Łódź! The museum is located in the beautifully preserved Izrael Poznański Palace, which itself is stunning and rich in history. The exhibits are well-organized, giving a deep insight into the city's industrial past and cultural legacy. I especially loved the sections dedicated to famous Łódź residents like Artur Rubinstein and Julian Tuwim. The interiors are luxurious and give a real sense of how the textile magnates lived. It’s also conveniently close to Manufaktura, so you can plan a full day around it. Highly recommended for history lovers and anyone curious about Łódź's unique story.

The Museum of the City of Łódź is one of the most impressive cultural attractions I’ve visited in Poland. Housed in the stunning Izrael Poznański Palace, the museum itself is a work of art even before you step inside. The architecture of the building is truly breathtaking, with intricate details, grand interiors, and a beautifully maintained exterior that reflects the city’s rich industrial heritage. One of the aspects that immediately stood out to me was how accessible the museum is. It’s clearly designed with great care to accommodate visitors with disabilities — something that, unfortunately, is still not common in many older institutions. ramps, and clear signage make navigation easy and inclusive. The exhibitions are thoughtfully curated and full of fascinating content. From the history of Łódź as a multicultural industrial city to personal stories of famous residents, there’s a strong narrative throughout. The exhibits are both educational and visually engaging, combining historical artifacts with multimedia and interactive elements. The courtyard is another highlight. It's a peaceful, elegant space that adds to the charm of the whole experience — perfect for taking a break or simply enjoying the surroundings. Overall, the Museum of the City of Łódź combines historical significance, accessibility, and beauty in a truly outstanding way. A must-see for anyone visiting the city. Last but not least, the tickets are not expensive

The palace interior is really amazing! The exhibition about history of the city of Łódź is very modern and quite interesting, but it could have had a better guiding narrative. I was a bit disengaged despite being a big history buff. That's why I'm giving only 4 stars out of 5. You can tour the whole museum in a single hour if you are quick. Up to two hours is enough for everybody.

Museum
Located within the Manufaktura complex in Łódź, Poland, the Museum of Art in Łódź MS1 is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. The museum showcases modern Polish art from the 20th and 21st centuries through various exhibitions featuring paintings, installations, sculptures, and videos. It provides insight into the development of Polish art in recent decades. Additionally, visitors can explore an industrial museum that offers a detailed account of Lodz factories during their productive era.
I'm a person who appreciates artistic designs and art in every form. I truly loved this museum because it is enriched with so many interesting art forms and not just only paintings. It's far better than MS2 Art Museum (Currently, no art nothing but just a room full of dices). Yet, it's unbelievable as to how so many people are complaining about MS1 museum here. Earlier, they had Wednesdays as a free admission day but now it's Friday - something that I wasn't aware of so I bought tickets to both the museums. Another important point, if you're a student, you can buy a discounted ticket for just 1 zloty which can let you enter MS1, MS2 and Herbst Palace, isn't that amazing? In my opinion, all students must grab this opportunity because you'd love Herbst Palace and MS1 Art Museum even if MS2 disappoints you! Purchased tickets are valid for 2 days for all 3 museums. I truly enjoyed spending my time here. If you're an art enthusiast like me, it will take you 3-4 hours to check every piece of art and read the information. There are texts in both Polish as well as English just so you know as it's so important to understand what you're seeing, especially, if you don't know Polish. Besides, staff members are co-operative, polite and professional. They will guide you to every single room even when you miss it. Ask them questions and they'll be glad to answer you. I personally liked Weronica who was so friendly and helpful. Even though she couldn't speak English, her readiness to help me was impressive! She clicked my lovely photos on a personal request and also unlocked the door to the glass-stained art staircase which was locked as the closing hour was approaching. I might have missed such a gem of an art if she didn't let me know about it. I will always remember her. ❤ Regarding people complaining that staff members follow them wherever they go - in my humble opinion, it doesn't mean that they think of you as a thief but they're just doing their duty for what they're being paid. Bonus, there is a cute little café decorated in artistic way where you can grab a coffee and relax for a while because you'll definitely need to take a break in between as there is a lot to explore on every floor (elevator available). Lastly, I got an art book for free from the lovely lady at the ticket booth (on the ground floor). You also have the access to a reading room which is on the top floor.

This is by far the worst of the nearly 100 museums I have visited all over Poland. They have no permanent exhibits, only 3 temporary ones, and for each they wanted 20 zloty. I looked at the brochures and each one looked worse than the other, but since I was already there I figured I might as well see at least one of them, so I picked the one that looked the least bad (a show by an artists' collective from Vietnam). It was ugly and pointless, and one video exhibit showed explicit pornography. It was a waste of an afternoon and taxi rides.

Muzeum Kanału "Dętka" is an underground canal system in Lodz that has been transformed into a regional history museum. The canal was originally built as an underground water supply system in the early 20th century but is no longer in use due to modern piping systems. Visitors can explore the well-preserved canal, which now serves as a tourist attraction with permanent and temporary exhibits.
Worth to visit this place of history of the great city of Łódź. One picture of the working men sitting in the finished sewer duct that you'll see in this museum is also featured as a mural at the end of Wierzbowa Street #52 in Łódź, on the Zakład Wodociągów i Kanalizacji.

Great place for the family or the adult in the evening. Food here is very well prepared and delicious. With options for vegetarians and omnivores. I highly recommend the saunas here. They are built with craftsmanship like I've never seen in a sauna. I mean seriously these saunas are built by Masters at their trade. The benches are soft, warm and inviting. The lighting sets the perfect mood and Ambience for a nice relaxing Steam.

An amazing swimming pool with a very varied set of attractions, from large pools indoors and outside, sports pools, a wave pool, lots of kids pools with integrated water playgrounds, jacuzzis and many slides, there is something for everyone. They also added an amazing kneip (hot/cold water treading) area which is a great experience to make. The place was clean, staff friendly and even though we've been on a Saturday, it didn't feel too crowded.

Professional, kind and helpful service🤝 Many attractions. We celebrated my daughter’s 13th birthday and I’m 100% sure that she will never forget that day. From calm and relaxing swim or jacuzzi to exciting and challenging slides. Warm and cozy at night. During the day - best for swimming, mindfulness and relax. Strongly recommend for family time. For the best experience- visit in uncommon hours. Thank you- amazing J O B 💪🤝🏊‍♀️

Going there time to time. Always fun. Recent visit was exceeding our expectations as the water generally felt warmer than in previous visits and they added new attractions like pool toys and inflatable slides on top of existing wide variety of slides available. 1/2 salt hot tubs were off due to renovation at the time we visited (and those are almost always full most of the time). But there's plenty of other stuff to do there, so not a biggie.

Great place to spend time with family. Many nice pools, especially outside one with very warm water. Very clean. Mayby a bit crowded but we were there on summer weekend with poor weather.

great place for a family. positive points: large swimming pools both - inside and outside, many children's pools for the little ones, there is a jacuzzi and other great places for hydromassages, you can participate in sports programs, there are descents with and without tires, which are very fun and a lot of adrenaline. negative points: very large flow of people, crowd's, you have to wait in line, especially in water slides, it is impossible to get into the saunas, you have to take sunbeds from the morning or come in the evening when there are none, some sun umbrellas are broken. Even on a weekday it is crowded But overall, a wonderful park to spend time with the family, experience adventures, for a really reasonable price.
Domas Z — Google review
3h was enough, though it wasn’t crowded. Tried everything. It was 16 degrees outside, so outdoor pool felt great. But I do recommend to visit as early as possible to avoid queues and lack of environment for the attractions.

Park Źródliska, the oldest park in the city of Lodz established in 1840, is a popular tourist attraction that draws countless visitors each year. Situated in the southwest region of Lodz, this charming urban park offers a tranquil sanctuary away from the bustling city life. Encompassing approximately 38 hectares, Park Źródliska provides ample green space for relaxation and unwinding.
Fantastic place, especially during hot weather. Loads of trees, so there is so shade and fresh air. Beautiful aisle to walk, little shop with coffee and ice cream. One of my favourite places to go.

Nestled in the heart of Łódź, the Botanical Garden in Łódź is a serene oasis that spans an impressive 67 hectares. Established in 1929, this expansive garden showcases over 3,500 species of plants across nine distinct sections, including an enchanting arboretum and specialized beds for medicinal herbs like horsetail and St. John's Wort. Visitors can meander through beautifully themed exhibits while enjoying picturesque ponds and lush meadows.
Good place to visit in late spring, full of colours. You can have a long walk or full day outing in this area. A place to get out of city hustle. Nearby, there is a zoo, other parks, and a waterpark.

Not that impressive, maybe it's because of the different seasons, flowers in this botanical garden in summer are not really attractive, and less amount than I expected. But the place near to the entrance had some beautiful ones 🌼🌺🌿

Great place to visit and enjoy. The garden is filled with various varieties of flowers and plants and trees. Also saw fox and snakes as well. Entry fees was minimal. Great place to take children. There are nice smaller ponds and rock climbing.

Very beautiful place with a lot of interesting flowers and plants. It was great day out for my family and friends . Great thing is that you can learn a lot from one visit and the ticket money are well spent . The garden offers many different things like weddings and barbeque within their premises and I do think it makes them different . You have toilet here and coffee shop . You have chairs you can relax in . I was really nicely surprised . But the best part of the garden are pounds and rocks places with great animals . You have to go and see it .

On the day of our visit access to the Łódż botanical garden was free of charge (due to the city's birthday), we spent a delightful hour or two wandering around the grounds, taking in the Japanese and Alpine gardens, the skansen compound and the herbal garden, making a break along the way at the café in the middle of the garden complex. Good visit, we enjoyed it.
Rutger L — Google review
A botanical garden in the middle of Lodz. On arrival, we found it to look a little run down and tatty. BUT it is actually a real gem. The fact it is not as manicured as most gardens you pay to enter, seems to add to its charm. It is a little wildlife haven. We saw a very friendly red squirrel, nut hatches, woodpeckers and frogs. I think the flower beds were between plantings as I have seen photos from early spring visitors and the tulip displays look amazing.
Kathy J — Google review
I remember it from my childhood when trees were young and in few places bit bare. It changed so much last 25 years. The trees matured and grown, they are well maintained. Ponds and lakes are beautiful with multicoloured water lillies as well as rock gardens. I took my daughter and she loved exploring and walking around. Reconstructed old farm house is a delightful bonus. Ticket prices very agreable. Definitelly will come back again.

Restaurant
Imber is a charming restaurant located in a courtyard off Piotrkowska. The small bistro offers outdoor seating and a daily changing lunch menu with traditional, hearty dishes for a reasonable price. Despite its hidden location, the atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. Guests praise the delicious food, professional service, and cozy ambiance away from the noisy street traffic. The menu features Jewish and regional cuisine, including tasty soups and entrees.
The food was thoughtfully composed with feminine botanical flares throughout. Every dish was tasty with surprise textural elements. The pastrami was the standout dish, and although the bill came to more than I expected I would return just to eat that sandwich again and to try other dishes. Service was on point and steady with a smile.

The restaurant is tucked away in a courtyard off Piotrkowska. All around are rather drab buildings but somehow it works and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Despite its "hidden" location, and it being in between lunch and dinner, there were quite a few people inside and outside. I soon found out why. I was served by a charming waitress with a winning smile. My beer was icy cold. I wasn't very hungry so opted for a soup and entree. The chłodnik was delicious as was the Jewish caviar. Presentation was beautiful and to top it off, their prices were very reasonable. I'll definitely be back!
Jack S — Google review
Great experience overall. Small bistro style with Jewish dishes, I would say with a twist. Very good food and enjoyed spending time on the terrace. Quiet and secluded between the buildings, not easy to find the entrance, though it is on Pietrkowska street. Took the herring appetiser and the pastrami sandwich. I also ordered salad and fries along with the sandwich. Enjoyed all of them, beware that taking all that was too much in size, even for a hungry guy. :-)

Similar to Izrael Poznanski, after the death of entrepreneur Karl Scheibler in 1881, a remarkable mausoleum was erected to honor his memory. In this case, it took the form of a complete chapel commissioned by his daughter Anna. The chapel showcases an exquisite Gothic Revival style that draws inspiration from churches in both northern France and Scheibler's native Germany.

(Translated by Google) I advise against it for now. Renovation. There is no information on how long it will last. Of course, you can walk around and enjoy the architecture. We are waiting for the opening The Scheibler family chapel in Łódź - a tombstone chapel-mausoleum located in the Old Cemetery at Ogrodowa Street in Łódź, in its Evangelical-Augsburg part. Completed in 1888 according to the design of Edward Lilpop and Józef Dziekoński. It is one of the greatest works of cemetery architecture in the world and a testimony to the unprecedented development of Łódź in the 19th century on a global scale. Designed in the neo-Gothic style. Karol Wilhelm Scheibler (born September 1, 1820 in Montjoie in the Rhineland, died April 13, 1881 in Łódź) - German industrialist, one of the greatest industrialists in Łódź, called the "king of cotton", who had no equal in the textile industry in the entire Russian Empire. From the mid-1870s, Scheibler's factories concentrated about 60% of production and 55% of workers in the textile industry in the Kingdom of Poland. (Original) Chwilowo odradzam. Remont. (Translated by Google) Chapel of Karol Scheibler, one of the great Three manufacturers of Lodz. It was built by order of his wife after his death. The project was selected every year through several competitions. The lady was very demanding. The result was worth it. The entire press in Poland was buzzing about the chapel. Post-war looting and vandalism almost killed this masterpiece. In 2006, the Karol Scheibler Chapel was included in the list of world monuments in danger of extinction. And although many of the architectural details are long gone, the view is still impressive. The facility is closed to visitors inside. Reconstruction is progressing slowly but surely. However, sometimes they organize photo days when you can touch history. Here I am showing it to you.

(Translated by Google) I've been here twice. The antique paintings are beautiful, and the building itself—a former stable—is also very interesting, but there are a couple of unpleasant points I'd like to point out. Firstly, during my last visit, the gallery was dark; some of the paintings were impossible to see without a flashlight; they were simply hanging in the shadows. Last time, it was brighter; I asked the employee to turn on more lights, but she said it wasn't possible. The paintings should be clearly visible, otherwise, why go there? Secondly, you can't take photos next to the paintings; you have to pay for it separately, as if it were a photo shoot. This is absurd. I want to take pictures of myself or a friend in this place, and we're not models, we don't have a camera with us, but we have to pay as if we were having a photo shoot just to take a few photos in the gallery? This is simply absurd. Thirdly, the gallery is quiet, and the employees are constantly staring; the atmosphere is oppressive. I'd like to hear classical music in the background, at least quietly, but definitely there. Overall, this place is worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) Amazing cemetery. I believe that to learn the history of a given city, you should go to the oldest cemeteries. Like in a kaleidoscope. The Łódź Cemetery is unconventional, diverse and interesting, like the whole of Łódź. Here we can see side by side tombstones of representatives of the Mosaic, Orthodox, Evangelical and Catholic denominations. This confirms that the identity of Łódź is multiculturalism and diversity. (Original) Niesamowity cmentarz.

(Translated by Google) The Old Cemetery in Łódź, a historic necropolis complex founded in 1855, is Christian and tri-denominational. It is divided into Catholic, Evangelical, and Orthodox sections. In 2015, the complex was designated a historical monument. During the tour, it's important to remember that these sections are separated by low walls. Therefore, it's possible to misjudge distances, as I did. The largest monument is worth seeing: the famous neo-Gothic Scheibler Chapel in the Evangelical section. This mausoleum, built between 1888 and 1988, is one of the three most beautiful in Europe. Also located here are the tombs of Łódź industrialists: the Grohman, Geyer, Kunizer, and Kinderman families. In the Catholic section, there's the impressive neo-Renaissance Heinzel mausoleum. Admission is free. Parking is available in the factory's parking lot. There is a coin-operated toilet (2 PLN). The minimum tour time is 90 minutes if you want to see the most interesting tombs. (Translated by Google) Some interesting tombstones, plenty of space to "walk," some in the shade, so even on hot days it's quite pleasant. Getting in was a problem, as only one gate, and it was a remote one, was open. My husband was intrigued, but the kids and I got tired after a while and left without seeing everything. If you enjoy this type of attraction, it's probably worth it.

(Translated by Google) A wonderful cemetery with a varied layout. At the very heart there is an older, somewhat forgotten part marked by the traces of time. You can stop and contemplate life passing by quickly and reflect on your own existence. On the outskirts there are newer graves, crowded one next to the other, where the memories of the dead buried there are certainly more vivid, but the atmosphere of the place is definitely different than in the older part. A cemetery worth recommending, it can be a relief for the soul in difficult times.

Historic Walking Areas
Księży Młyn is a historic city district in Lodz, known for its numerous large brick-built textile factories dating back to the 19th century. The area was developed by Karol Scheibler, one of Lodz's wealthiest businessmen at the time. This self-sufficient town within a city was modeled after English industrial settlements and included various facilities such as factory buildings, workers' houses, schools, hospitals, gasworks, and more.
Very nice place to visit. Used to be an industrial area. There is a coffee shop available. No tickets needed, free entrance.
Thiane W — Google review
Quiet and lovely looking place. Ideal for walks but not with pushchair or wheelchair as the streets are stones. There are a few coffee shops and some restaurants, I wouldn't say they are kids friendly but still worth visiting. In summer much more better views. It's lovely and a big park nearby, actually just across the street
Paulina T — Google review
Beautiful place for a walk and to get some coffee
Milosz M — Google review
The tourist information centre recommended visiting, and I found this district a more interesting example of renovation of Lodz’s handsome old textile industry buildings than Manufaktura. It’s a pleasant and peaceful area to stroll around, although there was some construction underway & the renovation is clearly work in progress. Had a lovely good-value set lunch at Three Chimneys, which is in one of the renovated buildings
Zuleika — Google review
There were several part that construction was going on, I'm happy that they're repairing trying to save the buildings. But I couldn't get to know this place more since I was traveling alone. I hope I'll find some local people who can teach me local history.

Fantastic and well preserved XIX century workers neighborhood - organized around old cotton mill. During our visit (October 2021) the residential part was under major renovation. The place is not too much frequented by the tourist but well worth a stroll around.

Very interesting development of an old mill and associated housing from late 1800s. Still in early stages but there are a few good coffee bars and restaurants already.

The Cinema Museum Lodz is a museum located in the grand residence of Karol Scheibler, known as the 'Cotton King'. This museum provides visitors with a two-part experience. The basement and 1st floor showcases exhibits related to Polish cinema, including old film equipment, movie posters and props. Additionally, on the ground floor are Scheibler's luxurious apartments that were frequently used as TV and film sets. Here visitors can explore the extravagance of 19th-century Lodz.
I did not know it was going to be so fun! Museum did bring childhood memories with cartoon characters. I liked original exhibits at the museum, from oscar statue through costumes from movies. Museum is very well priced. It is located in an old palace which is adding nice flavor to the overall overview of the place.

Very interesting and interactive museum about the history of cinema in general and cinema in Łódź. And the most spectacular thing is the building itself! Historical interiors are preserved in good condition, very catching. And as the fan of moomins I was extremely happy to accidentally visit exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of this amazing creatures and their author. Very nice and helpful museum staff, especially man in the hall dedicated to the history of the family which owned the palace

A great museum for film enthusiasts and anyone interested in the history of Polish cinema and the history of cinema in Łódź. Very friendly staff, an insightful and well curated exhibition and a lovely top floor focusing on Polish kids shows. The price seemed adequate for what you get. Plan some 2 to 3 hours for the visit.

We visited the Film Museum in Łódź today. The museum is nicely designed overall and offers quite a few interesting exhibits for cinema lovers. However, the overall atmosphere could be improved. We were a couple with two children (ages 9 and 12) who speak English rather than Polish. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t provide any explanations or interesting information and only approached us to tell us not to touch the exhibits.

It was a very nice visit here! You can see lots of old cameras 🎥 and learn how did the film was made before 🎬 Also the stoves in old times are very impressive for me 🔥 The guide there can speak English which is very helpful ❤️ And you can find lots of surprises in the room where the owner of the palace welcome his guests, try if you have sharp eyes 😎

Nestled within the historic Zrodliska Park, the Palm House stands as a stunning example of modern architecture and botanical beauty. This greenhouse is home to an impressive collection of palms, some over 130 years old, reaching heights of up to 18 meters! Visitors can wander through vibrant flowerbeds and a serene Japanese-style garden while enjoying views of exotic plants like bananas and cacti.
A nice place for a short family visit. The highlight is definitely feeding the fish and turtles—kids absolutely love it! Aside from that, there isn’t too much to see: just three rooms with plants and cacti. Still, it’s a pleasant spot for a quick, relaxing break, especially if you have little ones

It's a Japanese styled garden where no. of fruits and trees have been planted on the same roof along with desert-ones plants, too. I really liked the concept of having these all under the same roof where temperature has been maintained as per the requirements for each tree.

A good collection of tropical plants and subtropical succulents and a few koi and other fish thrown into the mix for good measure. We spent a decent hour there exploring the 2 large and one small room, reading a few interesting facts on the plants on display on some slightly aged info boards. All very fine, just slightly pales in comparison with some more opulent palm houses (looking at you, Gliwice ❤️).

It’s a really beautiful botanical garden, very cured in its inside and outside space, even though the outside garden should indicate the plants a little better. I loved it! I would have given 5 stars BUT I didn’t like the show of the fishes in their aquariums, totally inappropriate. The fish should be let free, not caged :(

The White Factory, or Biala Fabryka in Polish, is a restored textile factory that has been transformed into a museum complex. (Translated by Google) An amazing place - when visiting the Central Textile Museum I felt as if the looms had just stopped. Once an hour there is a show where workers turn on 4 machines at the same time. The noise is incredible - and once there were 400 of them working in one hall. In the White Factory the topic is presented in a modern and interactive form. The ticket price is adequate to what I found there. In addition, there is a small open-air museum - wooden buildings and a beautiful workers' villa in the middle of the city! I highly recommend it.

The Film School in Łódź (PWSFTviT) is not just an educational institution—it’s a living, breathing organism of cinema, art, and passion. The energy here is electric. Walking through its historic halls, you can feel the legacy of Kieślowski, Polański, Wajda, Has, Skolimowski, and other giants who began their journeys here. The school fosters creativity while maintaining a high standard of professionalism. It’s a place where students are truly encouraged to find their voice, challenge norms, and experiment with form and content. The faculty is made up of active professionals and respected artists who are genuinely dedicated to mentoring the next generation of filmmakers. Film directing and cinematography departments are the probably the most revered ones. Animation, production, editing, scriptwriting and obviously acting are among the most prestigious in Central Europe having nurtured many talents working in the industry today: two-time Oscar winner (Oppenheimer, Dunkirk) Hoyte van Hoytema, two-time Oscar nominee Łukasz Żal, multiple Polish academy award recipient Piotr Sobociński jr among many others. The facilities have been beautifully modernized without losing the soul of the place—state-of-the-art sound stages, editing suites, and camera equipment are paired with classic architecture and a unique atmosphere. It’s not just a school; it’s a sacred space for storytellers. If you’re serious about film, television, or photography—this is one of the best places in Europe to be. A true gem of Łódź and of the world cinema landscape.

Anatewka is a popular restaurant in Lodz that offers traditional Polish/Jewish cuisine and a cultural experience. The restaurant features live music with a violinist playing Jewish tunes, creating a warm and traditional atmosphere. The menu includes dishes like Jewish style carp, caviar with onion, beetroot soup, beef in horseradish, duck with cherries, gefilte fish, and kreplach.
One of the best restaurants in this city in a very beautiful environment and very skilled staff. The food is very tasty and special. The owner of the restaurant is very polite and friendly. The prices are reasonable for the service. And I must also say that the roasted duck is very tasty .

Anatewka in Łódź turned out to be one of those places you stumble upon by chance and end up remembering long after the trip is over. Tucked near the end of a quiet street, it’s a small restaurant with a cozy, unpretentious charm. The food? Solid. Nothing over-the-top or experimental, just well-prepared, flavorful dishes that hit the spot. What really stood out, though, was the staff. The team was genuinely warm and attentive—not in the scripted, overly rehearsed way, but the kind of hospitality that actually makes you feel like a welcome guest rather than a customer. The evening I visited, they had live violin music—not some elaborate performance, just a subtle, beautiful touch that added atmosphere without demanding attention. As someone who loves the sound of the violin, that felt like a real bonus. If I find myself back in Łódź, I’d happily return to Anatewka. It’s not trying to be anything it’s not—it just does what it does very well. And honestly, that’s rare enough to appreciate.

Food superb, service 6 stars. Waiter very attentive. Owner very welcoming. Overall long time didn't feel that much pleased. Thank you chief and stuff. Happy 25 birthday 🎂.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for a local, high-quality dining experience away from tourist traps. A real gem in Łódź. This restaurant truly stands out. The menu is incredibly well-thought-out and detailed, offering a great variety of local dishes that cater to all tastes and dietary needs. You can tell there’s real care behind every choice on the menu. The wild mushroom soup with beef was absolutely spectacular—rich, deep in flavor, yet each ingredient kept its own identity. Then came the beef tongue with horseradish and vegetables, and it was even better. The meat was surprisingly tender, perfectly cooked, and the flavors were in total harmony. A special mention goes to the vegetables: far from the usual carrot, bell pepper, and green bean mix—these were original, flavorful, and clearly chosen with creativity. If I could suggest one small improvement, it would be to serve the sauce on the side so you can better control the balance. Still, the dish was outstanding. The staff were very attentive and helpful, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. One of the best dining experiences I had in Łódź

Nice place. Service was good and you get free moonshine which actually tasted gorgeous. Only thing that didn't sit with me was the 'Rump Steak'. Not a steak at all it's a ground beef patty, the english translation in the menu needs an update.

Visitors highly recommend the breakfasts, especially the delectable sweet and savory crepes. The restaurant offers reasonable prices and English-friendly service. With a pleasant ambiance and helpful staff, MITMI restobar is an excellent choice for dining out.
I was in this restaurant today, and I satisfied with everything, the restaurant was of a very high standard. Delicious lunch and nice service. I was glad to see native Ukrainian borsh on the menu, and I was also very pleased that the waiter spoke Ukrainian. Definitely 5/5 I will return to this place again)

We've ordered beef cheeks and we were dissapointed. Everything look amazing but it didnt have any seasoning or any flavour, potatoes were not salted at all. The duck was tough and chewy, the Good thing about it was that it had a lot of juicy flavours. Gingerbread sauce became too much after A while. Only good thing were the deserts. Full of flavour and they tasted like your granny would make them. Prices were decend for 3 people to eat right next to Piotrowska street. Cool Little place that i do recommend but do ask about The food on the day.

Beef cheeks were very good but the service was lacking, oddly enough the new and younger team members were much more friendly and humble than the older ones. They smiled and were very pleasant. The beef cheeks were tasty and the duck was just heavenly, definitely worth a try. Drinks were nice too.

Great food and even better service. I recommend their breakfasts wholeheartedly! Their crepes (both sweet and savory) are to die for, and their prices are reasonable. If you're looking for an english friendly restaurant with a lot to offer give MITMI a try!

Blaming custimers for forgetting to bring full breakfast - The waitress brought for 26 zl only two eggs with half a tomato and some salad. While we finished our breakfast other customers all got a full basket of bread. When I asked why we didn't get this as part of our breakfast it was told: you need to ask! You need to ask for bread which everybody even got before the rest of food arrived. Sad...sometimes a sorry is really helpful!!!! Would not recommend this place Way to overprices for a lower medium quality of the food.

Went to see the Volleyball Nations League 2024 finals here, perfect atmosphere especially for the Poland matches, everyone I spoke to was great, Polish and Foreign alike. Would love to go again in the future if Łódź had the chance to host matches again.

I went to Ghost concert and it was incredible. Despite the huge crowd and the requirement to seal phones in Yondr cases, the organization was spot on. The acoustics were great, and the whole experience was top notch. Definitely planning to come back here a couple more times this year for other concerts 🖤

I was here for the VNL 2025 volleyball finals, and overall the organization was impressive. The arena is large, clean, and well-structured — it handled the crowd very well. The only downside was the very limited food options inside. For such a big event, I expected more variety and availability in terms of refreshments. Still, a great venue for major sports events with good visibility from most seats.
Meryem G — Google review
Went to the Parkway Drive concert yesterday. Very good acoustics, even with my Loops on. Not very crowded if you know when to go to the restrooms and merch stands. Been there one year ago as well. Will definitely go again.

Good acoustics, comfortable seating. Non-existent crowd-control outside the venue fence is causing unnecessary chaos. Roadworks outside add to the mess.

Unfortunately the sound system was set up too loud. It was painful to listen. I couldn't enjoy and relax. My partner put the ear plugs after second song. Apart from that Carlos Santana played flawlessly. 👌

I was here at the Monster Truck show, it's very fun and interesting, the stadium is small, nothing special, but there are interesting events
Yana I — Google review
The lines and waiting times for beverages were ridiculously long. Narrow concourses and the poor lighting on the staircases inside the arena are dangerous. I watched as a woman fell and rolled 10 steps and another 2 ladies tripped on the stairs. The seat and row numbering is impossible to see in the dark and even with a phone flashlight it is difficult to read the small letters on seats and rows. The overall sound is good for a concert. The location and access to the venue is not ideal. Long lines of cars waiting to get into the parking lots. No places to catch a bite to eat or drink for blocks in any direction. Coming from Warsaw to attend. I will have to seriously consider not going again to this venue unless it is something I just have to attend.

(Translated by Google) A factory palace built in 1904 for the son of Łódź's wealthiest 19th-century factory owner, Izrael Poznański. The main architect was Adolf Zeligson. The building's structure is in the Neo-Renaissance style. The interiors are eclectic, with each room in a different style. It was the first building in Łódź with central heating. All sorts of innovations were systematically introduced. During World War II, it housed a music school for German youth. Immediately after the war, it became the home of the Academy of Music. Thanks to external funding, the palace was renovated. Today, it dazzles with its splendor. Beautiful paneling, marble, and graining. A wonderful winter garden. Unfortunately, there are few tour options, and for that reason, I'm deducting a star. You have to wait for the current owner to announce the dates on the Academy of Music website. In 2025, there were only four tours during the summer season. As soon as they become available, you have to send an email immediately, as spaces are selling like hotcakes. The group I visited with numbered about 60 people. That's a lot. It's hard to enjoy it. The tour duration depends on the guide. Unfortunately, I only had 1 hour and 15 minutes without tickets being sold. Last year, apparently, there was a guide who devoted over two hours to the group. It was a matter of luck. During the tour, we had the pleasure of listening to a performance by an artist practicing for a transverse flute competition. After the guided tour, we have to leave the building. You can enter the small garden in front of the palace. The ticket cost is 30 PLN. Cash only. This is a lot considering Łódź conditions and the amount of time you might spend there. There are restrooms at the entrance. There was no cloakroom on our route, but there probably is one somewhere, as there are concerts. There is no cafe, but there is a coffee machine. Parking nearby is quite difficult, but you can leave your car in the Manufaktura parking lot. (Original) pałac fabrykancki zbudowany w 1904 roku dla syna najbogatszego łódzkiego fabrykanta XIXw Izraela Poznańskiego. Głównym architektem był Adolf Zeligson. Bryła budynku w stylu neorenesansowym. Wnętrza eklektyzm, każde pomieszczenie w innym stylu. Był to pierwszy budynek w Łodzi posiadający centralne ogrzewanie. Systematycznie wprowadzano wszelkie nowinki. To dużo.

(Translated by Google) This is not the palace of Izrael Poznański (ul. Ogrodowa), but of his son Karol, which houses the Academy of Music. It is my number 1 among the Poznański family palaces. It is beautiful from the outside, although less representative than Izrael Poznański's, but the renovated interior impressed me much more than any other palace in Łódź. It is not easy to visit the interior, but once a month a small group of people can have this honor for a symbolic fee of PLN 20 per person. We waited for the date for about 3 months. Registration is conducted by the Academy of Music via e-mail. The guide is a university employee. A bonus is the opportunity to listen to Academy students play, sometimes even on antique instruments. I recommend it wholeheartedly. If you like this kind of atmosphere and are interested in the history of Łódź, you certainly won't regret it. It is also worth visiting the palace of Karol's brother - Maurycy Poznański, located a block away, and, of course, the palace of their father Israel, located at ul. Ogrodowa. Jest on moim numerem 1 wśród pałaców rodziny Poznańskich. My czekaliśmy na termin około 3 miesięcy. Ogrodowej.

The museum features a small but impressive collection of machinery and artifacts from the city's industrial past, providing context for Manufaktura and the lives of textile workers. Visitors can enjoy informative films with English subtitles, adding depth to the experience. The interactive section showcases real stories and photographs of factory workers, offering a personal connection to the city's industrial heritage.
Really enjoyed my visit, especially thanks to the staff members who took lots of time to answer my questions and whose passion for the museum was evident - they are a real credit to the museum. I recently celebrated my name day with a delightful dinner at this charming traditional restaurant in Lodz. Eager to try authentic Polish cuisine. Our experience was made all the more special by Nadia, our waitress, not only was she incredibly friendly and attentive, but she also effortlessly catered to our needs in English language as we don’t speak Polish, and provided excellent daily recommendations. Her kindness was very nice. The restaurant's location in the heart of the city is truly unique, and we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful garden they offer during the summer months. Our taste buds were delighted by the delicious Tatarbefsteak, which was both flavorful and impeccably prepared. While the fish main course could benefit from a touch more attention, it did not diminish our overall enjoyment of the meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the restaurant and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for a memorable dining experience!

Wonderful Polish Food! My wife and I were heading to an Italian Restaurant around the corner from our hotel but we never made it there. We had to walk by Soplicowo to get to the Italian place and the smells coming from the kitchen wouldn't allow us to go any further so we gave up on Italian and opted for Polish. The place was busy but we were seated right away at a nice cozy table for two. We started our Soplicowo experience with a couple of shot of cherry vodka, served in icy glasses as it should be. I ordered a bowl of beetroot soup which was very tasty, the star of the soup were the dumplings, they were filled with wonderfully seasoned meat and were amazing! My wife's goat cheese salad was fresh and had a good amount of cheese with a nice dressing. With our first course we were offered a complimentary plate with bread and some kind of lard spread, I'm not sure what it is called but it had a great smokey flavor and bits of meat that may have been pork, with this came pickles and some kind of seasoned sour cream spread. A bottle of red wine was ordered to accompany our mains, I had the wild boar, very nice flavors not at all gamey, perfectly cooked in a nice rich sauce. My wife had the mushroom stuffed chicken which was cooked to a wonderful crisp on the outside but remained moist and yummy inside and filled with mushrooms with dumplings of some kind on the side. We also had a plate of the ruskie dumplings, we were stuffed at this point but managed to finish these wonderful little pockets of yumminess! After such a delicious meal we couldn't say no to desert so we split an order of apple pie with vanilla sauce, an exceptional desert to finish an exceptional dining experience! The service was great, ambience was great and the food was amazing, if we ever make it back to Lodz this will be the first place we dine!

Excellent Tourist Info centre- certainly one of the best I've seen. Staff were very very friendly and gave recommendations for anything you needed. Offers walking tours in English on Saturday at a reasonable price and they have a huge shop with very cool and interesting memorabilia. More cities around the world can look at Łódź as an example on how to welcome tourist ! Good job

Out standing service of the gentleman that served us. Beside well explaining all what is possible to see (with as much as passable details and later adding brochures), he also went beyond the way to try and find and give us information about specific buildings we inquired about ... including some info. regarding their history.

Nicest guy i've ever met at a polish tourist info! Very helpful and with a tremendous knowledge of polish history. We had a really good conversation and i learnt various interesting things i didn't find anywhere on my research materials. The shop itself has a LOT of souvenirs and guides about Lodz at fair prices. 100% recommended! :]

Unicorn Stable, also known as the new tram station in Lodz, is a modern architectural gem with a multicolored transparent roof that has earned it the popular nickname. Located in the city center, this well-kept station is not only visually stunning but also convenient and easy to navigate. With frequent tram services and connections to various directions, it offers both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The station's colorful stained glass windows make for a captivating sight, especially when illuminated at night.
Beautiful places and very smart idea for trams. Great location, looking lovely on sunny day and helpful during rainy days

It is an attractive structure in the centre, very convenient, too especially in foul weather. The trouble is that it's so dirty but this seems to be the dominating feature of this city. Dear city authorities take a walk and get on a tram or bus. Then one can see more.

Arturówek, situated on the northern edge of Lodz within the Lagiewniki Forest, offers fantastic recreational opportunities for visitors. The area is perfect for leisurely walks, sunbathing, and active family recreation. Visitors can explore Arturówek lake by pedalo or rowboat, relax on the beach, or experience an adrenaline rush at the rope course.
A very pleasant Oasis in Łódź. Easily accessible by car or public transport. I recommend the latter on a hot weekend as parking is limited and the no 85 bus will take you right to your destination. Some beautiful walking trails in this small but attractive retreat. A great way to spend a relaxing day with lots of water activities and plenty of refreshments available. Even well maintained playground and fitness area.

Arturówek is one of the best outdoor spots in Łódź. It has a big lake, bike paths, a playground for kids, and ice cream and coffee places. Surrounded by real forest, just outside the city. It’s a place to relax, walk, or ride a bike if you feel connected to nature

Airport
Lodz Airport, also known as Lodz Wladyslaw Reymont Airport, is a modern international airport located just 6km outside the city center. Despite being small, it offers a range of amenities including shops and cafes. The airport provides quick and easy access to the city center via bus or train. While some travelers have noted minor inconveniences such as lack of soap in the restrooms and issues with drop-off procedures, others have praised its cleanliness and efficiency.
Great experience at Łódź Airport! I visited with my daughter and her school friends and we were impressed by the professional staff and welcoming atmosphere. The behind-the-scenes tour — from security to air traffic control and the runway — was unforgettable and very educational. Airport that combines efficiency with a personal touch. Highly recommended for visiting ✈️ Martyna Krawczyk #mentalpro❤️ Positive Life Coach & Transformative Speaker
#mentalpro K — Google review
I arrived 3h earlier and the airport was completely empty. There wasn’t even any security personell around. The airport should have an information about operating on low capacity thus recommending to arrive 2-1,5h before the flight.
Michał R — Google review
Extremely Poor Experience – Avoid if Possible This airport is one of the worst I’ve ever used. On my return to the UK, passengers were left standing outside in the cold and rain for at least 15 minutes while we waited for the incoming flight to unload. This happened both on arrival and departure, which shows it’s not a one-off issue but a serious flaw in how this airport operates. The passport control area is tiny, with just a few officers and very long queues. Shockingly, British nationals were being singled out for fingerprinting and photographing, something I’ve never experienced in any other country. At the boarding gate, staff appeared to check only British passport holders’ cabin luggage using sizers, while passengers with local passports were allowed to walk through unchecked. This kind of biased treatment is unacceptable and creates a really unpleasant, frustrating atmosphere. If you’re flying to or from this region, I strongly recommend using Warsaw Airport instead. It’s better managed, more professional, and far less stressful.
Imi A — Google review
Airport is a joke. 2 flights per day and luggage reclaim is not working. No informarion anything. Workers are not helping is at all. One passenger wanted to speak with manager of airport but guys with guns came and said he can’t , which is of course a joke as well because it’s a eu low to have such possibility. Terrible experience not recommending. FIRST and last time. Later people will cry that they are closing this AirPort and they wont have job….

When I got to the security check point with a crazy 20 month old, whilst I was putting our bags down to go through security he ran through the gates - the lovely security lady caught him and handed my little trouble back to me ( I am sorry, but if I see you again I will certainly remember your beautiful face) we somehow managed to go through the security checks and forgot our bags. Once I realised, the lady was still very understanding and absolutely amazing. It was a flight to Málaga from Lodz on 23rd of July,2025. Dziekuje Pani bardzo, za to ze zlapala Pani mojego synka I przytulila kiedy ja sie pocilam z przemeczenia, za to ze Pani sprawdzila Nas dokladnie z usmiechem na twarzy ❤️ thank you for keeping the polish boarders safe !
Maria R — Google review
I like that the airport is easily accessible with public transport and there is sufficient space to sit for the amount of passengers. Low rating based on my three times here, toilets and seats are always dirty. The space is small enough that it could be cleaned by one or two people to a spotless condition. Another surprising thing is that you have to pay for the plastic zip bags for liquids.
Ida K — Google review
Small airport but pretty efficient, massage chairs upstairs, food, bar, duty free and no long walks to the gate. Everything you need is there 💕
