Råbjerg Mile is a massive sand dune covering 2 square kilometers, making it the largest migrating dune in Denmark and the largest of its kind in Europe. Situated between Skagen and Frederikshavn, this desert-like landscape offers a unique hiking experience with diverse fauna and stunning views. Visitors can hike to the top for panoramic vistas of the surrounding area, including seas on both ends.
This caught us with surprise, it’s like a dessert out of nowhere, super fun to walk/run/slide , kids enjoy a lot, though it was in spring and the temperature around 5C , we did manage to have fun, but would definitely love to go there in early summer. There is parking for all kind of vehicles, There are no toilets near by, And there is a lot of walking to do. A must visit place if you are around skagen area.

Wonderful surprise in middle of greenland. With nice sunny weather and strong wind we were like on Arrakis from Dune books/movies :-) It's really nicely photogenic place and the sand is everywhere, although the sand is not as fine as the one you can find on Sahara desert, but that is not a negative, just an observation. Plenty of fun especially for kids and dogs.
Milan P — Google review
Climbing this enormous dune – one of the higher spots in otherwise flat Denmark – rewards you with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and the sea. Sitting on top of a dune in northern Denmark was not what I expected when planning our road trip, yet it turned out to be one of the most powerful experiences. As you watch the ever-changing scenery, with untamed sand trying to conquer the local vegetation, you realize that fighting nature is impossible. Nature always finds its way – and compared to it, we are so small. It is a deeply grounding feeling, mixing freedom, defiance, and strength. Absolutely stunning. I highly recommend stopping here, taking a quiet moment, and letting the power of the dune resonate within you – a force that follows its own path, no matter what.
LétovItálii — Google review
A truly fascinating place — a stunning desert in the middle of nowhere that felt straight out of Dune! The vast white landscape, complete silence, and the feeling of complete isolation made it an unforgettable experience. We were the only ones there, and it felt almost otherworldly. Absolutely magical — we’ll definitely be back ✨
Evelina V — Google review
Amazing place of nature beauty. I recommend coming either in Avery early morning or off season, otherwise your experience may be impacted by the crowds.
Daniel O — Google review
A huge sand dune 14 km from Skagen. It felt like being in the desert. It takes about an hour to walk there and back. Good free parking, as well as toilets. It's a nice experience to go there.
Bjørg S — Google review
Surreal! Very unexpected to find an actual and dune in Denmark. It really feels like a scene from a movie based in an African or Arabian desert. The sand is soft and clean. With a stop for an hour or so on the way to or from Skagen
Michael L — Google review
The closest thing to a desert you can come to experience in Scandinavia. When walking here in this dune it is almost like walking in a mini Sahara. But climb one of the small hills and you are presented with at stunning view of the nearby area

Skagen Bunkermuseum is a historical museum located in a German bunker from World War II. The museum showcases an impressive collection of uniforms and weapons, offering guided tours to visitors. It's a fascinating piece of history that is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. Despite the small entrance fee of 50 kr, the museum offers interesting relics from the war era for enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
A nice little museum. With some interesting exhibition items. All another bunkers around the area are not open to the public. Privately owned and funded! So make sure to visit in order to keep places like this alive!
Qwen T — Google review
Not bad, but it's only 5 rooms with mostly Danish explanation, there is very little on English, ticket is not worth it for such a fast seeing.
Nenad P — Google review
Interesting place to visit……shame to ponder on the reason for these bunkers to have been built in the first place. I’ve seen their like in Normandy and other places around the world but I don’t believe that the Skagen bunkers should still be here as they are an eyesore all covered in graffiti and bricked up. They overlook an excellent vista of 2 seas meeting and also a small seal colony on its beach.
Peter M — Google review
Visiting this WWII medical bunker-turned-museum is a very interesting experience. It's not big, but there are a lot of info boards to read and it's definitely possible to take your time there if you're interested in WWII history. The restored office/barracks room and the letters from Montgomery about D-day were the most interesting exhibits for me. It's also possible to see numerous other bunkers along the shore nearby, which are slowly being reclaimed by the sea.
Intrepid D — Google review
Pretty basic. Missing a good overview of the bunkers nearby. Lot from the D-day but is it relevant? Some nice info on the construction and a gun collection.
Henning P — Google review
A great place to learn some history. Lots of genuine artifacts including an MG-42. Many bunkers to see here.
Tim S — Google review
Contains several declassified Allied documents about Normandy and D-Day, in general, handful of Wehrmacht and Allied weapons. It's a quick visit, lacks information about the Skagen region of the Atlantic Wall. Value for money, if you are an WW-II enthusiast.

Grenen is a sandy spit located at Denmark's northern tip, where the North Sea and Kattegat Sea meet. This area is home to seals and dolphins. Exploring Jutland, the most northerly part of Denmark, offers beautiful white beaches and clear but cold seas. The road trip from Aalborg to Skagen, Lonstrup, and Grenen sandbar showcases Scandinavian design in clean and unfussy buildings like windmills.
Loved it! Awesome views, lovely beach. Be smart and either bring a pair of wellies or prepare for wet feet crossing the small gully a few hundred meters before the end.
Lisa N — Google review
Where the North Sea meets the Baltic Unless you use the sand train it's a4km walk both ways but worth it, particularly if the tide is out
Tony B — Google review
Baltic Sea on one side, North Sea on the other. How cool is that? Beware of the paid parking. It tales approx. 15-20 minutes to get to the tip of the shore, which is usually pretty crowded. There are also a couple of bunkers on the way. Highly recommended.
Etkin G — Google review
It was an amazing experience and quite memorable. I visited twice in two days both in the sunlight and rain. I really enjoyed by walking for one hour from the hotel to reach here and got the opportunity to explore the nature and landscape. Stunning view of grenen where the two seas meet each other.
Usman K — Google review
Absolutely stunning place!! North tip of Denamrk where two seas - Skaggerak (North sea) and kattegat sea meet. It’s a good 15 10 mins from the parking area to get to the tip. We got to see a seal basking in the sun.
Pooja K — Google review
Stunning view where North Sea and Baltic Sea (Kattegat) meets- the northern tip of Denmark . On a clear day you could distinguish between the two different see with different colour of water- once in a lifetime experience! If you are lucky, you can also spot seals are laying around the sands. In this shallow reef, many bunkers (made by Germany during WW2) are in sight. There’s also bunker museum nearby. The walk to the tip where the two seas meet from the parking lot, is about 40 minutes hard walk in moving sand and strong wind. There’s a bus available : sandormen for elderly people/people with knee/leg problems.
Sumandra M — Google review
Beautiful clean beach which is great for a walk and look at some sea creatures like jelly fish and star fish. Apart from that, not much to do here since you are prohibited from bathing due to currents and it's too windy and cold to just lie and enjoy the sun. NOTE: There is no public transport to get here from skagen train station, so you will either have to walk, rent a cycle or take a very expensive taxi.
Bhavishya G — Google review
Amazing views! 100% recommended as a life experience you'll never forget. There are hotels and restaurants in skagen, and a bus called sandormen, that can give you a lift over to the beach and back to the bus station, for about 35 kr. each person.

The Galleri Grenen - Grenen Kunstmuseum is a remarkable and inviting small museum. Currently, it offers the exceptional opportunity to admire Anna Ancher's unparalleled portrayal of light. The entrance fee is 20kr and the museum showcases a diverse collection of artworks by various artists. The art pieces are truly astounding, although there were some peculiar odors detected in certain areas. Nonetheless, this museum is definitely worth visiting for its unique artwork and cozy atmosphere.
What a phantastic and cozy little museum - and right now with the added bonus of Anna Ancher's equally un-equalled treatment of light. For sure well worth a visit 👍

Skagens Museum is a charming gallery that beautifully showcases the remarkable art created in Skagen between 1870 and 1930. The museum features works by artists who were drawn to the area's radiant light and windswept landscapes, establishing an internationally recognized style known as the 'Skagen School'. It served as a retreat for artists seeking respite from urban life, creating a vibrant artist community.
This museum was a reason for traveling across the Jutland Peninsula all the way to Skagen. And it did not disappointed! Fabulous exposition on the members of Art Colony. All the paintings are wonderfully described in detail. Even if museum is quite small (max 1hr) it seems to be very spacious and perfectly lit (weather and sunlight during the visit was perfect) Highly recommend to visit!

A simple but cute and beautiful museum. I liked museums and art galleries, so it was important to go to the museum in Skagen. I saw the works that I had to see at the Skagen Museum and it remains a good memory to this day.

Excellent exhibition of Dutch artists impressionist paintings. The museum displays the artwork beautifully. A real visual treat, learnt a lot about the Dutch artists.
Vincent N — Google review
Skagen is at the northern most point of where the North Sea and Baltic come together. Quaint city. This museum has some nice paintings.
David C — Google review
The art was good but the museum could improve its wayfinding system. During my visit, I kept walking in circles because it wasn’t clear where to start or which way to go. I also couldn’t find an English version of the map at the ticket counter. In the restrooms, the male and female icons were designed quite similar. Although there were large portraits of male and female characters at the entrance to help indicate the rooms, some visitors might assume these are just decorations and rely only on the icons. I actually saw a man accidentally enter the women’s restroom. When he came out, he tried to point at the ladys’ icon as if I (female) was the one who had made the mistake, but then he realized it was actually his error — which the situation was awkward for both of us.🙄
Olivia — Google review
Worth visiting. A interesting collection with a focus on impressionism. Well curated displays of paintings, sculptures, pottery on two levels. Well light rooms, good ventilation and seats can be found in most rooms to rest the legs. It was not crowded when we visited on a weekday afternoon. We could get tickets on the spot. There is a cafe at the back of the museum and a museum gift shop.

The Den Tilsandede Kirke is a Gothic-style church tower ruin built in the 14th century, located on a beautiful sand dune. It offers visitors the opportunity to climb up into the old tower for stunning views of the surrounding landscape, which can be enjoyed from benches outside if climbing isn't possible. The site also features demarcations outlining the original perimeter of the church and is an intriguing destination when combined with nearby sites showcasing how sand dominates and moves across the region.
If you came to Skagen, you should come here. A church that is standing alone in the sand in a remote place. Amazing. You can go inside and climb a tower like this so far. Be careful, the stairs are quite steep and small. And the road to here is a trail, but there are not many people, so it may be a little difficult to come alone. I liked it because I rode my bike.
웅냥냥 — Google review
Very interesting site, short hike. It was fairly crowded and a bit of a wait to climb the tower. The tower is very narrow. Lots of barn swallows!
Heather W — Google review
Stunning historical gem! The sand-buried church tower offers a unique glimpse into Skagen’s past. Scenic dune views, peaceful walk, and a cozy vibe. Perfect for history buffs! Highly recommend.
Andres P — Google review
At this beautiful place I felt as if all my prayers and wishes of the soul were being heard. It carries a unique calm and strength. Seeing how the church withstands the forces of nature while slowly being swallowed by the sand filled me with both admiration and courage – it is a true symbol of resilience and faith. Only the tower remains today, as the rest of the church was completely buried by shifting sand dunes. Still, the spirit of history is alive here – the church was originally built in the 14th century and once ranked among the largest in the region. There is a parking area nearby, everything is well maintained and clean, including restrooms, which is a big plus. The place is easy to reach and the atmosphere at sunset is absolutely magical. 🌅 Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience a touch of mystery and a deep connection with both nature and history.
LétovItálii — Google review
Interesting historical landmark. It's free and you can climb up to the rafters and enjoy the view. Nice walking trails in the surrounding park as well.
Matthias H — Google review
If you are expecting to see sand half way up windows and doors you will be very disappointed. The tower is almost completely visible and main body of the church was actually demolished, not buried. It's a nice walk to a pretty tower but that's about it.
Jane M — Google review
If you are travelling to Skagen, you should make a quick stop to see this small, but beautiful church!. Beautiiful photos are garanti and you get to see families of doves flying around too. If you go upstairs you 'll have a great view of the area through the church's windows. Keep in mind that the stairs going up, are not that many, but is a bit tight to go through them. Overall, this church is worth a visit!.
Effi A — Google review
Den Tilsandede Kirke, or *The Sand-Covered Church*, in Skagen is one of those places that feels almost unreal — a hauntingly beautiful reminder of nature’s quiet power over human ambition. Standing alone amid rolling dunes and whispering pines, only the stark white tower remains visible today, rising like a ghost of the past above the sand that swallowed the rest of the structure centuries ago. The walk to the site through the windswept trails is peaceful and meditative, and as you approach the church, there’s an eerie stillness that makes you imagine the villagers once digging it out after each storm. It’s not just a historical landmark; it’s a story etched into the landscape — of resilience, loss, and the slow reclamation of human effort by nature. The site isn’t flashy or crowded, but that’s its charm — it’s raw, atmospheric, and strangely moving, especially during sunset when the light turns the dunes golden and the church tower glows softly like a relic of another era. Cryptic??? here you go 1_4m_th3_crypt1c_k1ng Well done!

This a great place to be on the evening of 23 June to experience the midsummer festival; many hundreds attend to witness the bonfire and later on the fireworks. The programme of events has poems recited and songs sung. The surrounding area offers delightful walks along the coast and through the dunes on both sides of the peninsula; it’s well worth walking to the most northern point where the North and Baltic Seas meet.

Beautifully well kept, the house belongs to the renowned Skagen artist and his wife. This is a lovely Lutheran Church in Skagen! I found it so interesting that the picture at the altar was the Christmas story. The baptismal font was beautiful! I love the little ships that hang in the sea churches. The crucifix was very interesting and I wish I knew the story behind it. If you're in Skagen, definitely check this church out!

A very charming privately run museum. You can tell the two people running this are really passionate about the topics covered here, be it geology or marine wildlife. (Translated by Google) Nice little amateur museum with three rooms with stuffed animals and rocks and a committed owner. The one star is because we participated in the shark dissection event. The owner used a dogfish for this, which is on both the Danish and European red lists of endangered species. The dogfish cannot therefore be bought in Denmark. But the Museum imports them from a country that does not respect the list, because the owner does not believe it is endangered. 'Stupid politicians have adopted the list, but go home and eat caviar afterwards', said the owner. My jaw dropped. Regardless of whether Poul was smarter than Danish and European marine biologists, you should not teach children that you should not comply with fishing bans. The history of our predation on the ocean's resources was conspicuously absent. An otherwise obvious opportunity, when you teach children about such an amazing and vulnerable animal as the dogfish, which lives to 70 years and gives birth to live young. The owner was proud that he did not receive public funds. I'm actually glad he doesn't.

Poul is a fantastic nature guide, so the activities through the museum are highly recommended. The picture is of a carnivorous plant at Råbjerg Mile, which Poul told about on the trip. We couldn't get enough, so we went to most of the activities that the museum offers during the week. The museum itself has a huge collection of stuffed animals and finds from the past. Definitely five stars from here. Skagen Marina is a picturesque and vibrant harbor area with colorful boats and charming old buildings that create a beautiful setting. It offers an array of activities, including exploring the sand-buried church and the wandering dune of Rabjerg Mile, as well as visiting the renowned Skagen Museum to admire works by members of the Skagen art movement. The marina also serves as an important fishing port, providing fresh seafood for its many restaurants.
Skagen Marina is such a cozy and beautiful place! 🌊⛵️ It’s super clean and has a really chill vibe. You can walk around and look at all the cool boats, and there are lots of restaurants and ice cream places nearby 🍦🍔. The sunsets there are amazing and it’s just the perfect spot to relax or hang out with friends and family. Would totally recommend it if you’re visiting Skagen!

The marina harbour of Skagen is very beautiful. The colourful of boats and small old buildings around the harbour compliments each other which made it looks beautiful. There are many things going on here particularly nice restaurants and bars which is very pleasant to eat in the area. Many restaurant of choices which fantastic vibes. There are also boutiques shop in the area too which convenient for shopping.

Used as a motorhome stopover. Busy fishing port and good to match the fleet arrive and depart. Parked next to a few fish restaurants, excellent and a short stroll to the town centre
Stephen R — Google review
The town of Skagen is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, our experience at Skagen Marina was very disappointing. During our stay, several boats played extremely loud music from midday until late in the evening. It was impossible to sleep or even relax. As the day went on and people got drunk, the situation only got worse. What surprised us most was that nobody from the marina staff reacted or tried to handle the noise problem. For us, this made the stay frustrating and unpleasant. Sadly, we will not return to this marina.

Beautiful place that is not only a marina but also an important fishing port. There are many nice shopping options as well many seafood restaurants. Art gallery are great to see. There is in the same site a quite important boat yard were fishing boat are getting repared which bring a little negative side to have these two industry not really connected together.

Skagen is a nice harbour. They have most necessities, and it's a short walk to the "city centre". It's not very expensive to Dock your boat here for a few days, but be prepared to squeeze it into a crowded harbour or have a lot of neighbours as this is a very popular place in summer time.

We greatly enjoyed the combination of architecture, art and nature. The unique building designed by Jørn Utzon (of Sydney Opera House) contains information about Utzon's philosophy of design which combines form inspired by and complimenting nature. Well worth discovering. Additionally there was an exhibit with film which explained how nature is forming the Skagen Odde Area. That was my favourite. Then there were additional hands on areas about various aspects of local biology, zoology, geology and botany. Cool for kids. The current art exhibit with paintings and sculpture was top rate. And there was a lovely cafe area. Great way to spend a few hours. Take a sketch book and sit in the courtyard! And by the way the friendly, informative lady working the register was the cherry on top of the cake! Great place for something different near the seaside.
S S — Google review
The nature center doesn't really deserve its name at the moment. There is an incoherent art exhibition in the corridors, a whole section of advertising (greenwashing?) from the sponsors, but unfortunately very, very little information about the flora and fauna of the region. Many opportunities are not used here. The small and free nature center in Vorupør, for example, does a much better job. Too bad for the town of Skagen.
Max H — Google review
It has a very diverse collection, wit expositions by local artists, combined with nature education, you have to go and check out the house owl at reception, it is amazing. Frome here a few trails start in an amazing area, an undiscovered gem, so close to big volume tourists at the tip, 30 minute walk from the northeast point of Danmark. Kind and knowledgeable staff
Dick R — Google review
Good informative value in their stands and from their guides about the flora and fauna og this particular and special area in Denmark. The artgallery currently stands as a rather odd extension og the museum. The museum itself really needs to up its visibility. A recent visitor cycled 19 kilometers to experience its magic, only to find themselves amidst vast sand dunes and playful encounters with friendly locals. While the journey to the beach may be longer than expected, it’s well worth it as you traverse through stunning landscapes filled with low-growth forests leading up to impressive dunes.

One of the nicest and most detailed museum I have ever seen. Very well looked after and thought out. I was also amazed about the kids area. I would've liked to stay and play there myself too! We will be back for sure and I would recommend it to everyone.
Eva T — Google review
This a wonderful local museum. I enjoyed the stories it tells of the town's maritime history and fishing trade. Anyone with a sense of history will enjoy what this museum had to offer. Plus, it just a short walk from Drachmans hus and the town center.

It looks great but couldnt catch opening time Wants to visit 🤞🏼
Seyda G — Google review
Very friendly staff! The museum itself has a lot to see which connects to the history of Skagen.
Lea R — Google review
Museum showcases mostly old days of fisherman and various pieces of history in relation to ferries and ship wrecks. It costs 110 kr per person and u can visit kystmuseet in skagen, and two other places with this ticket within a week or so. U will also be provided with an audio guide tool which on scanning on various points in museum will play relevant audios accordingly. You have to return it when you leave the museum. There are some cool antiques in this museum but i didn't find it that interesting. May be other kystmuseet might be. It's like an ok place to visit if you are in skagen, but wouldn't say it's something u should be visiting if you are in skagen.

Scenic spot
Solnedgangspladsen in Gammel Skagen is a must-visit destination for sunset enthusiasts. This picturesque spot offers an expansive view over the western horizon, making it an ideal location to soak in the beauty of twilight. Visitors can enjoy delightful treats like cappuccinos, churros, and ice cream from a nearby store while basking in the stunning scenery. However, be prepared for limited parking; it's best to arrive early or consider walking if you can.
This place was recommended by our host family, and it was worth the visit. Loved the idea of enjoying a nice cappuccino, churros, and ice cream while watching a gorgeous sunset on the longest day of the year.

Nice place/spot to watch the sunset. Overall, the place is great with a big view over the West while standing on the beach. Lovely! But be in time, parking is very limited here, unless you can walk a while. Even the handicap spots are taken by those who don't need it.
Frank D — Google review
Nice place but not sure why people congregate here when there are so many other places to see the sunset in Skagen (see photos).

The Maskinrummet history museum is an extraordinary place that resembles a year-round indoor thresheree. It showcases numerous operational engines, ranging from 19th-century steam engines to modern-day motorcycles and even includes small outboard motors as well as a large marine inboard displayed within a cutaway ship-hull. Additionally, the museum exhibits iconic engines such as Briggs & Stratton, Evinrude, and Fairbanks Morse Model T engines originating from Wisconsin.
Love the engines and cutaways, hope I can make it back to see the new location because in Aug of 2025 when I visited the current location is too crammed to really be able appreciate the motorcycles. Suggestion to managers: please add English to the signage.

Interesting museum for vessels and engines lovers. It will take you through the entire history of engines progression. There is also a small collection of cars and bikes that you can explore. But it’s mainly engines engines and engines

Heaps of old engines, motorbikes and cars. Most in going condition. Needs more interpretive information but will be much better when it moves into the new purpose built building.

This place is amazing! It’s like a year-round indoor thresheree! We saw several engines running and more that looked ready to run. Everything from 19th century steam to 21st century motorcycles, and 1.5 hp outboards up to a big old marine inboard in a cutaway ship-hull. They even had Briggs & Stratton, Evinrude, and Fairbanks Morse Model T engines from back home in Wisconsin!

Accompanied by the sound of seagulls flying high above you and the sound of an old ship engine i indulged a huge beef sandwich and 1/2 liter cold beer Sitting there at the 'Maskinrummet museum' overlooking the busy harbour i felt this was the perfect place to relax after a visit inside the museum. The grillbar serves hotdogs, burgers and pommes frites. To drink you can have soft drinks, chocolate milk and beer. Priced very fairly i very highly recommend a visit. The price for the special danish delicasy, the 'beef sandwich' is the best in town and so is the taste of it. The museum is a must see if you are interested in ships, motorbikes, car and engines. My highest recommendations goes to this place.
Rene N — Google review

Great place to see for kids and adults. Tons of old machines, gas, steam und diesel. We were very excited, our kids liked it and we enjoyed our stay very much. The museum is very well maintained, clean und you can see it is done with love and passion. We want to thank the owners for the nice stay.

Very cool museum! This is an extremely short walk from pier 9 (<10 minutes). The museum is full of old engines, cars, motorcycles and boats. Great for any gear head because they have cheap food and beer which you can eat and drink within the museum. They have outdoor seating and a couple lounge spots inside where you can sit and drink while admiring some of the maritime history. To walk around the whole museum probably took about 60-90 minutes. They rotate which engines are running and you can ask them to start certain engines. Pros- 1. Lots of engine history and large diversity of antique cars, engines, boats, tools 2. Cheap tickets, food and beer 3. Free wifi, coffee and bathrooms (very clean) 4. Very friendly and helpful staff 5. Plenty of parking Cons- 1. NOT handicap friendly (narrow aisles, steep stairs and no elevators, most of the museum you might be able to fit a wheel chair) 2. NOT children friendly (lots of running live equipment which fingers can get stuck in) 3. No translations- only danish! Definitely worth the stop!

(Translated by Google) I wouldn't call it beautiful, but it's a nice dog and decorates an otherwise empty green space. (Original) Vil ikke kalde den smuk men en hyggelig hund er det da og pynter på et ellers tomt grønt stykke.
Claus M — Google review
(Translated by Google) Stone sculpture "Cave Canem" (beware of the dog) by Henrik Starcke in 1970. The sculpture is called the Cement Dog or the Stone Dog because its surface consists of large flint stones that are embedded in cement. The dog is 2 meters long and 1.70 meters tall. The sculpture was erected on the occasion of the merger of Nørresundby, Sundby-Hvorup and Egholm. It was the Bank for Nørresundby and the Region that donated 100,000 DKK for the purpose in 1968. The artist Henrik Starcke had found inspiration for the sculpture in the ancient Roman Empire. During excavations in Pompeii and Ostia, mosaics with motifs of large, fierce guard dogs and with the short but telling warning: Cave Canem have been found in front of the ruins of several wealthy villas. Watch out for the dog The sculpture was originally located on the bridge landing in Nørresundby, looking towards Aalborg. A necessary traffic diversion meant that the dog was, after a local vote, moved to Lindholm Strandpark in 1995. The sculpture was unveiled on September 4, 1970, and gave rise to some debate about whether the dog was linked to a proposal to merge the municipalities of Nørresundby and Aalborg. At the unveiling, the bank handed the dog over to the Nørresundby Cultural Committee, who passed it on to councilman Hans Brusgaard, who represented the new Storaalborg. He thought it could very well be seen as a symbol of the new municipality. In any case, it suits the area and the nature and the strength of the Vendel residents. Not everyone in Nørresundby was in favor of the city losing its independence, and they did not mind having a somewhat rough dog standing as a warning to the municipality to the south.
