Beautiful park in Tubingen. Plenty of space to walk around and enjoy nature. Amazing views of the river and the city. The trees provide great shade on a hot day. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. We really enjoyed our visit to this area in Tubingen.

Very green and peaceful. Come and relax. But there are no restrooms and you can not cycle. You can take walk. Water is dark green color but many boats available. You can swim also.

St. George's Collegiate Church in Tübingen is a stunning 15th-century Gothic church with a towering presence in the city. The church features beautiful stained glass windows and intricate shell limestone sculptures, as well as a remarkable pipe organ and a lookout tower offering panoramic views of the city. It also serves as an important concert hall, hosting music performances on weekends.
The church has Gothic architecture and is worth a visit if you’re passing through Tübingen. The church’s interior is really intricate. I really like the ceiling of the church, very impressive for me.

Stunning Chuch in Tübingen. It is free to enter. On the day we visited they were playing the organ and it was awesome to listen to as we toured the church. This church was built between 1470 and 1499. The bell tower dates back to 1411 and is Romanesque architecture while the church itself is gothic. It houses 14 grave stone monuments in the Wurttemberg Family Mausoleum. It is an evangelical parish. The steps on the side are great places to sit in the area square. We loved our visit!
Michael M — Google review
A beautiful historic church with a stunning view over Tübingen! Climbing up the tower is absolutely worth it — you get a breathtaking panorama of the whole city and the Neckar river. A must-visit spot if you’re exploring Tübingen!

This late gothic church from 1470 was one of the first churches to convert to Martin Luther's protestant churches. It houses a large amount of royal tonbs and has some stunning wood carvings on the benches. On top it, has the Schäufelein Altar, an altar from 1520 that was painted by an assistant of Hans Schäufelein who was a student of Albrecht Dürer, one of Germany's most famous painters.

Gasthausbrauerei Neckarmüller is a classic inn located by the picturesque Neckar River, offering a charming setting for dining and enjoying housemade beer. The restaurant features wood-paneled interiors and a riverside garden, making it an ideal spot for savoring pasta, Swabian dishes, and locally brewed beer.
Good service, good atmosphere and the food is pretty good. I have ordered the roasted beef with sautéed onion and i have ordered it medium rare and it gave me a medium rare, I am very happy about this. Their wheat beer is also very nice to drink. Lastly, I also ordered the haxe pork knuckle, it was good, especially the skin part, the meat is half braised which is very good!

When I was at the first time arrived in Tübingen in October,2024, I tried this restaurant with my friend. Everything was ok, the food was ok too but the day after we both had FOOD POISONING, we had DIARRHEA, VOMIT and FEVER. So please avoid this place.
Rebecca X — Google review
Really nice food. The lunch menu was nice and a decent size for the price. Its a lovely place to sit outside in the summer and i always really enjoy it. My one complaint is that the tap water is about the size of a shot. A tiny glass less than half full and they don’t let you order more which is weird.
Gemma B — Google review
Always a good restaurant to have a great view of the Neckar and spend good time in a group. Swabian cuisine is the main attraction here. Their venison is really popular in winter.
Indresh — Google review
We dined here tonight and when we were seated, the server threw coasters at us. His attitude was terrible and did not tend to us again during the entire time. We waited more than 20 minutes just to get the bill. Food was good but the whole experience was an ordeal due to the rudeness of a particular server. Never been treated like this before in any restaurant.

Gasthausbrauerei Neckarmüller in Tübingen offers a pleasant experience with its quality beer and excellent location. The beer served here is good, with a range of options to suit different tastes. The location is another strong point, situated in the heart of Tübingen. I was a visitor exploring the city, and it provides an enjoyable option for a drink and a good time.

A pleasant marketplace to walk around. We came across a street band playing cheerful music. One of the nice areas to visit when in Tübingen.

Tübingen is only an hour and half from Stuttgart by regional train. The city dates from the 6th or 7th century, when the region was populated by the Alamanni people. The old castle dates from around year 1.000. The city was totally destroyed during the WW but many buildings were restored. We can still see special details from the original constructions. A very typical German town worth visiting.
Sigrid S — Google review
It's a beautiful square surrounded by antique buildings. On and off, there are events such as the Christmas market or currently the "Chocolart", a chocolate themed market.

This is probably one of the worst university on this planet. First of all they lost my registration. Which was done online. How could that happen? After that they signed me in to the wrong subject. And when you have to sign in for your exams nothing works and you have to write plenty of mails to your professor and the exam department. Horrible organisation. Stay safe - stay far away!

Hölderlinturm is a restored tower with medieval origins, once the home of the famous German poet Friedrich Hölderlin in his later years. The picturesque location on the river Nekar makes it an iconic spot for tourists and poetry enthusiasts. Visitors can explore displays on Hölderlin's life and work while taking in the beautiful surroundings of Tubingen.
The poet Holderlin spent the last 30 years of his life in this picturesque tower. To be honest, it’s worth visiting just for the spectacular location on the banks of the Neckar alone. The staff are helpful and there is a lot of interesting material to read and listen to. If you’re interested in Holderlin, poetry, or culture then it’s absolutely worthwhile. The views of the tower from the nearby bridge and from the opposite bank of the Neckar are superb.

It's a really nice place to visit, at least early in the morning, afternoon there might be a bit too many people around.

Colorful place with much more activites to do in and around this place. Trekking, kayaking, museum, park to relax and the city architecture. This is a left out / saved place from world war 2. Old and ancient town. If you take a walk around the city, you will see many beautiful buildings and small small hills. A huge park, a small man made canal which is kind of replica of venice.

A rare treat, and very emotionally moving - the home of genius poet Friedrich Holderlin. Wanted to visit the Museum for decades. It exceeds expectations. To see original manuscripts by the visionary writer is truly remarkable.

One if the most cute and colorful cities in South Germany 🌈 if u like half-timbered house is a must place to visit. There are less tourists than the famous city like Rothenburg ob der Tauber. I have visited this place in May and there are full of flowers decorating in the city.

It was absolutely an amazing experience for all of us including our children! It takes about 1.5 hours and around 1km is the normal round. If it rains, you can have a coffee and snacks party under the bridge. You can also plan for a 2-3 hours of City walk. There will be always something for you to enjoy. You can also go to the city garden beside Neckar river and relax or do a picnic! It is a beautiful lively city! So why wait...? Plan a trip!

Since we live in Stuttgart, visiting the nature park is always a mini-vacation for us and a new adventure every time. There are wonderful tours, for cyclists or for parents with children on foot. I'm not so good at walking anymore, but there are still routes I can manage. The birdsong and the fresh air, the beautiful paths and the magnificent landscape are almost like heaven on earth. It's also idyllic and so peaceful; you can sit there for hours, just being there, and forget everything for a moment. 🙂 Anyone who needs a bit of peace, fresh air, and peace for the soul is in the right place. 👌🐞

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, the main greenhouse was closed due to maintenance work on the roof. There's a coffee machine, no contact person, and no café. The plants on display are well-maintained; more information would be nice, perhaps via a visitor app; the extremely smelly fertilizer in the outdoor area was unbearable at times. Since there's no information online about the long-term work and the closure of the main building, one might be disappointed, but since the garden is free, this is acceptable. Da man von den längerfristigen Arbeiten und Schließung des Haupthauses online nichts erfährt könnte man enttäuscht sein, da der Garten kostenfrei ist ist dies jedoch vertretbar.

The Ancient Culture Museum at Hohentübingen Castle is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts. The museum, housed within the 11th-century castle, boasts an impressive collection of artifacts dating back thousands of years. Visitors can marvel at ancient Egyptian sacrificial chambers, Roman and Greek relics, and even the world's oldest known artworks created by humankind.
The museum is even better than I expected, with a diversity of historical cultures and very good artifacts. From amazing Paleolithic ivory statuettes to great Egyptian artifacts, with Etruscan, Celtic, trojan and many other greek/Near East locales. It must be noted that the ancient cultures represented in this museums are almost exclusively european and from the near east (with a Polynesian exception). Definitely one of the best archeological museum I have been to.

The ride from Herrenberg to Tübingen is like watching a live wallpaper—green meadows on both sides, super peaceful. Both train n bus work fine, covered under the Deutschland ticket. Took the market route up to the castle, not the stairs—view from the top is stunning. Checked out the museum n exhibition, def worth it if ur into science n history. The town’s vibe is amazing—old colorful buildings, plants climbing the walls, and that little island park in the middle is perfect for a walk. Great weekend getaway from Stuttgart.

The museum has a very nice collection of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and remains from Egyptian civilisation. The items of ivory from the ice age are very precious and takes us back to thousands of years. The guided tour in English was really insightful and interesting. One of the best & the most interesting aspect of the museum is the collections from ice age. These rare items give an insight into the brilliance & geniuses of our ancestors who inhabited the area which is modern day Ulm, Heidelberg and around. These are simply brilliant stuffs and I would recommend everyone who is in (or visits) Tübingen to appreciate the amazing collection of this museum. PS - Don't forget to see one of the largest barrels in Germany. :)

This friendly establishment also offers warm cooking options for patrons.

It all depends on the event you are at. The location has a couple of rooms for dancing, yoga, theater, painting, music,... everything is in a let's call it "creative atmosphere". Don't expect comfort and luxury or perfect heating. The group, team and event will define if you enjoy the time you spent there :)🧘‍♀️🌟

Botanical garden
The Botanical Garden is a sprawling public park featuring themed areas that showcase plant species from around the world. Visitors can leisurely stroll through the garden, admiring flowerbeds and even a 250-year-old tree. The well-maintained garden offers labeled trees and plants, making it an educational experience for all. Tropical plants, flowers, and cacti are housed in greenhouses while the outdoor garden bursts with greenery during spring and summer.
Very beautiful and serene place with many small little paths feeling like entering wonderland, perfect also for children. I have been there with a stroller and there are good paths to come through, though the more magical ones are than to walk without stroller. And for free it's just fabulous

If you're seeking a delightful outdoor adventure in Tübingen, Österberg is an absolute gem that should be on your itinerary. This picturesque hillside offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, making it an ideal spot to unwind and soak in the scenery. The journey to Österberg is straightforward, with easy access via public transport or a pleasant hike from landmarks like St. Georges Collegiate Church towards the University Library.
Great place for a walk. It is quite a climb, but totally worth it. In the top there is a playground and a beautiful view of Tübingen. Not many benches or places for sitting. Just nature and relax. Bring with you a thermos with tea and it will be the best thing to drink it after the walk! If you pay attention, you can also find squirrels and wild birds.

If you're looking for a fantastic outdoor escape in Tübingen, this spot is a must-visi. It offers stunning panoramic views of the city that are sure to take your breath away. Getting there is a breeze, thanks to convenient public transport options. As spring arrives, the landscape bursts into a vibrant display of yellow as fields of buttercup flowers bloom, creating a picturesque setting that's perfect for a leisurely stroll or a picnic. Platanenallee is a charming, leafy boulevard situated on a narrow man-made island, showcasing an innovative use of landfill. As you stroll along this picturesque walkway, you'll be greeted by serene punts gliding past and vibrant houses in shades of pink, mustard, and cream lining the opposite riverbank. The backdrop features the old town with its inviting squares—Holzmarkt and Markt—where quaint streets lead to the majestic Schloss Hohentübingen.
A nice place for a walk with a view of the river and the city. Especially the old houses and the church.

Fun park to walk through! It's an island in the river. There is a set of stairs you take from the bridge, and you can walk along with the river on both sides through a line of trees. You are first greeted by a very large bird house for pigeons. The colorful houses, castle and church make for a wonderfully picturesque backdrop. If you come here, take the stroll.

(Translated by Google) The Neckar River is undoubtedly the soul of Tübingen, and what gives that special touch to the town. Tübingen certainly has its charm, with its cobblestone streets and university atmosphere, but the Neckar takes it to another level. Watching the gondoliers glide down the river is like a little trip to Venice, but with that unmistakable German touch. It is difficult not to get carried away by the romantic atmosphere and imagine yourself starring in a movie while you walk along its banks or get on one of the picturesque boats. The Neckar adds a magic to Tübingen that cannot be described until you experience it!

And when we learned from Ute that this year they celebrate the 40th anniversary of this wonderful place, which she and her husband run, we were even more impressed. And it's a place where it is not enough to come once. I think there's always something new here that you didn't see last time. There is a lot of effort, attention and love invested in every detail, every exhibit. We will recommend this place to everyone we know, and we will definitely come back to you with our friends.

Although this place is not huge, the three floors are packed full of interesting technological specimens. The entire museum is tacked tight with interesting things to see. My absolute favourite is the vintage motorcycle collection. They have a motorcycle for display that was built in 1914 - the oldest machine in their entire(?) collection. They have model trains, engines, cars, and toys in shelves all round the museum. Old vintage cars are on display on just about every floor - including one of the first ever Mercedes. Every available space on the walls, floors, and even ceilings are decorated with something on display - vintage posters, old fuel pumps, model castles, etc. Even some of the tables in the restaurant are glass shelves with models on display. It's worth spending the time exploring the entire museum. Just a PSA: this is a museum and the displays should really be looked at and not touched. There are no physical barriers but out of common sense and respect one should really touch any of these priceless artefacts. One must certainly NOT sit one's child in the driver's seat of a vintage vehicle for a photo unless there is a very obvious sign allowing one to do so (there are a few vehicles that do allow people to sit in it).

Absolutely lovely interior. Amazing beer selection and very cheap prices compared to other places that I’m used to. I came here as I was in the area and was looking for a place for craft beers and the offerings here more than fulfilled my cravings. Only slight complaint I have is that i feel like some of the staff do not fully understand the beers they are selling which could be helpful in a place like this. Unlike the beers, the food was quite expensive and was nothing special in my opinion. This however doesn’t affect my overall opinion since the beers is the reason to come here and I definitely will come back again when I’m in the region!

Efficient, swift and thoughtful vaccination center. My husband and I had appointments at two totally different times (8am and 4pm), but they took us together and we were able to go through the process together. All questions asked were answered (paracetamol or ibuprofen for pain in the arm? - paracetamol). And we were done and home before we knew it. Organized, calm, helpful, wonderful staff.

The Paleontological Collection at the University of Tübingen offers an impressive assortment of dinosaur skeletons and fossils, providing a truly remarkable experience. The museum showcases authentic specimens that are commonly found in paleontology textbooks, allowing visitors to explore a wide range of prehistoric relics. In addition to its extensive collection, the museum also provides the opportunity to learn from knowledgeable paleontologists who share fascinating stories about these ancient creatures.
Loved it! The collection of both vertebrate and invertebrate fossils is awesome. Any geologist around the world will find this collection interesting.
Debanjan G — Google review
This museum, part of the University of Tübingen, might just be my favourite palaeontology museum of all time. Dinosaurs and extinct mammals are one thing, but the sheer abundance of Permian tetrapods and marine reptiles absolutely enchanted me. I wish I could have stayed forever... But I stayed for as long as I could, and I recommend you do the same!
Alan D — Google review

Talila Y — Google review
One of the most impressive fossil collections I have ever seen. If you are very interested in fossils and especially Mesozoic marine reptiles, expect to be here for a few hours!
Aaron — Google review
One of the best collections on - mainly - Mesozoic marine reptiles I've seen to date. For, although thanks to the South-German palaeontological treasure trove that is the Poseidonia shale there are many museums in the area with collections on the subject, there are few that so splendidly bring in specimens from elsewhere to illustrate aspects of comparative anatomy. Thus, not only will you find beautiful specimens from the region around Tübingen here - including various species of wonderfully preserved ichthyosaurs - you'll be able to offset these against plesiosaurs, pliosaurs, nothosaurs, mosasaurs, crocodiles and more. In addition, the museum houses a small sample of dinosaur remains - including locally found plateosaurs and a stegosaurus - as well as some stunning non-vertebrate fossil pieces, amongst which the blocks of ammonites stand out. All of this makes the museum a must-see reference collection for those interested in dinosaur evolution and Mesozoic marine life. Don't expect any interactive presentations or models, though, as the museum's main purpose is to serve academic needs. However, amazingly, access to the collections is free, even if the museum is only opened during the university's working hours (plan in advance). When open, the museum can be found by entering the Geosciences faculty building, and walking down the hall to the stairway at the back. The museum's collections can be found upstairs.
Alexander M — Google review

The art gallery Gruppe 91 Kulturproduktion Herbert Rösler is a remarkable collective of talented artists who have been collaborating since 1969. It is essential for the city to provide support to these likable artists, as they contribute significantly to the cultural heritage that would otherwise be lost without the city's assistance. Appreciating their artistic endeavors, I believe it is crucial for the city to offer its backing and preserve this valuable legacy.
