Happy Mount Park in Morecambe is a delightful destination that promises an unforgettable day for families and nature lovers alike. This traditional park boasts an impressive adventure playground, perfect for children to explore and enjoy. Visitors can also take advantage of the summer splash area, where kids can cool off while having fun. The park features various sports pitches, making it ideal for those looking to engage in some friendly competition.
Great family fun day out! We went to Happy Mount to use the water zone and it was fantastic. The price has gone up from £1 to £4 per child and £1 per adult spectator, but still well worth the money for the hour of fun my boys had. No dogs are allowed in the splash area but we took him around the gardens and the kids outdoor play park. The Cafe is great and the staff even made me a Gluten Free tuna sandwich. Which was a relief. Prices were reasonable and they even do a Mr Whippy too.Great little pitch n put and kept us all busy for an hour and the swinging boats were a hit at only £2 per child. A fabulous afternoon out with ample parking below the Golf Club on the main road car park. A great afternoon outing for all the family.

So this review is based from a family with two grand children with special needs A lovely laid out park, various interesting areas Limited toilet facilities albeit clean The cafe is very noisy due to the play area being placed inside and the prices are a little steep too but there is quite a broad food menu to choose from Great coffee though👌🙂 The paths are poorly maintained in places for pushing wheelchairs on. The play area is in a nice sheltered area, it is well set out and the pine needles add a soft covering to the ground. (Some parts of the ground were muddy though) The zip wire is placed way too low and restricts its use for the heavier child Overall OK.
Stephen A — Google review
We visited Happy Mount Park form the first time yesterday. We spent the afternoon in the park with our two children's Nd had a jolly good time. Plenty to do, could easily have spent a full day at the park. The splash park was a great hit with our 4 and 7 year old. The free play area was a bit basic and the other issue was that a lot of the things were cash only. Some sort of pay once for everything would have been handy too.
Tom B — Google review
A really nice park with plenty of activities for everyone. We visited Sunday 3rd August 2025 and found that the Kirby Lonsdale Brass Band were playing. It was a really fabulous afternoon with plenty of people sitting listening.
Andrew M — Google review
Not much open due to it being out of season but Adventure Golf was and we enjoyed a round. The pots of tea we had were the best we had during our visit.
Heather R — Google review
It’s a nice park for families activities with the lovely squirrels everywhere
Hussain H — Google review
It's a beautiful park, with something for everyone. Plenty of different things to keep the young and old occupied and then a lovely drink in the cafe afterwards
Ann D — Google review
Pay for near enough everything. £2.50 parking. Playground £1.50. Trampolines £2 for 6 minutes. Train around the playground, not sure how much as we’d stopped paying. Toilet was 40p. We won’t be visiting again. Total rip off. No wonder Morecambe is still declining.

The Eric Morecambe Statue, unveiled in 1999 beside the picturesque Morecambe Bay, is a larger-than-life tribute to the famous comedian. The bronze statue captures him in his characteristic pose, complete with binoculars as a nod to his passion for birdwatching. Erected by sculptor Graham Ibbeson and unveiled by the Queen, it has become a popular feature on Morecambe Promenade.
Visited on Tuesday 01st October 2024. Lovely visit to the town including Eric Morecambe's Statue. Beyond the statue itself, there is a user-activated audio guide to Eric's history. Details of that history are captured in engravings and plaques around the statue on various levels. Parking nearby and the area has been maintained well.
Jeffrey S — Google review
Lovely little unspoilt seaside town, plenty of car parks, campervans aloud to park on the seafront promenade. Great beach, dog friendly beach at the far end (north side). Plenty of eateries and watering holes, amusement. Its a lengthy promenade which makes for a good walk.
Stuart H — Google review
Absolute must for this iconic photo, get a selfie with Eric or if you're a horrendous teenager, do him durty with a .5 I have the feeling Eric and Ernie would have loved these photos! I can't see the place, so here's a top tip, the indoor market has a bakery near the rear exit, Chunky Steak Pie! 10:10 @ £7.50 would easily feed 4 ppl.. bread, cakes pies all delicious, unfortunately I can't find the business name to review it, so get yourself a pie for the way home! And thank me later! P.S Tyson where were you? We were hoping to see the 3rd best reason to visit Morecombe 🥊our one and only GK World Champion Get'Up!

It's a lovely view over Morecambe bay but its a fantastic tribute to a great and funny man. Well deserved. Made us happy and sad at the same time.... And No, he's not going to sell much ice cream at that speed 😄

Morecambe seafront is a pleasure to visit. The promenade is very smooth and well designed which means all users can enjoy it. The view over the bay is magnificent which adds to the experience. The statue of Eric Morecambe just makes me smile and brings back good memories of the great man.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of Morecambe Bay, the Morecambe Winter Gardens is a magnificent Grade II listed building that dates back to 1897. Originally known as the Victoria Pavilion Theatre, this architectural gem was designed by Mangnall & Littlewood with input from famed theatre architect Frank Matcham. Once part of a larger Winter Gardens complex, it has stood the test of time and remains a vibrant cultural hub today.
Brilliant place free entry Saturday 12 till 4 and Sundays 1 till 4 there is a cafe plus free toilets inside very old buildings they had tombola in when we went this place is run by volunteers so donations are encouraged plus the volunteers are very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable

For years trying to see inside this place finally went in speechless the stalls the ceiling and all the art work amazing to think Morecombe and wise stared from here worth a visit to see such history

Spontaneously popped in here on a Sunday and ended up having lunch in the cafe (cafe open Saturday and Sundays only at the moment). Run by volunteers, the cafe is really affordable and great for young kids. Really interesting architecture and historical place to look around/venue for a drink/food whilst it currently undergoes restoration for the next few years.

Went for a visit and one of the free tours. What an amazing place. They are slowly slowly getting the work done and it's just gorgeous all the work they've done. If you get. Cancel definitely pop in for a coffee and if you have time do the tour!
Chris A — Google review
Absolutely joy to visit. It's fantastic to see this beautiful old venue been restored to its former glory by a team of dedicated volunteers with an amazing passion for this wonderful piece of history that was almost lost forever, it's worth a visit at the weekend and have a guided tour and show your support.
Darryl C — Google review
I love that they are renovating this beautiful old building. I went last Saturday and had tea and sandwiches. So nice to sit and just enjoy the building. On the sad side I was talked into getting a bottle of their gin, I didn’t have a bag so the lady came back with one . But sadly as I walked back to my car the handle snapped and the bag dropped to the floor smashing the gin. So as much as I would have like to give you a review for that as well , I can’t 😞

Bay
Morecambe Bay, located in southern Cumbria, is a stunning coastal area known for its expansive tidal sand and mud flats. The bay offers picturesque viewpoints and beaches, making it a popular destination for beach strolls and water sports enthusiasts. The seaside town of Morecambe adds to the charm of the area, attracting visitors with its traditional seaside fun. Additionally, the region is home to charming old villages like Cartmel and the artsy market town of Ulverston.
It’s a very quiet seaside town. I use to come here in my teens and 20s when it was quite busy. I will definitely come back again. The train station was 5 minutes walk from the beach. The tide was not far out to reach the beach. Probably less than 5 minutes. I saw Eric Morecambe’s statue. I went into a charity shop down a side street and got a really good quality M & S woollen skirt for the winter. It cost me £1. I got a book on herbal remedies for common ailments . I expected to pay at least a £1 . It was 20p. I went into another charity shop that had good quality furniture. Including baby buggy’s . They were all sold off. The furniture price tags had sold on the back.

We loved our trip to Moorcombe Bay, it was spur of the moment that we visited and found it very accessible. Everything we wanted/needed was there. The streets were clean, plenty of parking, and parking prices fair for a tourism location. Looking forward to returning. Side note: two adults visited, I would not recommend the beach for families with small children it isn't the most child friendly beach would be worth rerouting to blackpool when the beach and sea is more accessible, in my opinion, for small kids who want to play and roam.
Hayley W — Google review
Love it here. Loads for kids - happy mount park with splash park..playgrounds...little train...cafe...(at a cost) woodland trail walk. Art deco hotel looking over beautiful beach.

Visited after many year's on a beautiful sunny weekend 😎. Had a long walk along the Promenade towards Heysham Village passing the all the small bays, lovely scenic beaches ⛱. Lot's of cafés to grab a drink/icecream, public toilets along the the front, also plenty of benches to sit & have a picnic, great water 💧 play area for kid's, & Battery Car Park on the front is great.
Manjeet K — Google review
No matter what the weather is like, a walk along the stone jetty and the promenade is refreshing. Lots of cafes and amusement arcades. A great day out.
Jo — Google review
Wonderful bay walks with lots to see and do. A real contrast to Blackpool, but that is Morecambe's strength. The town and bay area are family friendly in a stress free environment. Lots of opportunities to enjoy good food and drink. Highly recommend.
David W — Google review
Morecambe bay is such a beautiful place , the views are out of this world and the town is really quirky . The people seem to be pleasant and are quite friendly . Parking is easy but the roads around the town kind of let it down , like driving on the moon . The lake District is visible from the bay as well as the south of barrow and Furness when the weather permits.
Rikki D — Google review
First time here. Lovely really. Went in late April and was a warm sunny day. Lots of parking. Nice large horseshoe shaped bay with long stretches of beach. Don't get caught out by the tide as it came in quickly, later. Good selection of places to eat and an amazing bookshop. Go on..roll up your trousers, put your vest on, put a kiss me quick hat on and just enjoy yourself! 👍😊

You can enjoy your meal without interrupting the game thanks to their convenient lane menu. Great fun, food and service. Gluten free menu was great and I had no issues with allergy. Second time here in a year, travelling from Glasgow. Will go back again in passing.
Gregory C — Google review
Just went in for a coffee, we sat near the window so had a great view of the bay, coffee was ok, just a little on the noisy side with the kids playing bowls, not really a place to visit if you want quiet
Julie — Google review
I always enjoy going to this Bowling Alley. You can choose who gets barriers/bumpers and who doesn't, with the system automatically switching between them. You can have your score sheet sent out to you, and they even have a Godzilla Pinball Machine.
Sam A — Google review
Never had a bad experience here across multiple visits. Food has always been great, drinks cold, and games fun. I have had food delayed before, but it can get busy so that is perfectly understandable. As for the bowling itself, it is always fun, allowing for some customisation during the game too (blocking the gutters, changing names, etc).
Oliver J — Google review
Absolutely loved it here, the food was fresh, everything came out hot and on point! Great atmosphere and excellent service from staff, we were recommended some drinks by Cheryl and they were fantastic, highly recommend and can't wait to come back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5, Great bowling, even better food and service. No wait time, perfect day out, but the real star of the show was Katie, from the moment we walked in she was super welcoming, she made sure we were good the whole time we were there, she brought our drinks over to the lanes for us, lovely staff

Bowling is always a 10/10, Food is great, never have any issues. Went to watch the Football today and Tim had no issues sorting that! Kaitlin always had a smile on her face when serving on the bar!

Went to a 3 band gig on Saturday. Blue Nation, Virginmary's and These Wicked Rivers. All 3 superb and any one them could have been headliners. Great venue, easy access, all one level, bar very reasonably priced. Gorgeous architecture in the building and full of history. An absolute pleasure.

I would like to thank all staff at Jumprush yesterday for making my little boys birthday special. You all made us feel welcome and checked in with us often to make sure everything was okay. The pizza/chips/ice-cream plus unlimited juice was worth every penny. Big thank you to Tom and the team we definitely will be back 😀

Excellent members of staff were extremely hospitable in particular a girl named Abbie I believe who was incredibly welcoming on reception. I found this to be an outstanding service as I often struggle with social interactions and so her interaction was really helpful to me and in my opinion went above and beyond my expectations of the staff especially. The venue was also fantastic and the children had an amazing time. Cafe food was what you would expect however service was swift and again impressed me. Overall, would recommend to family and friends due to impeccable service and in particular the members of staff on reception being incredibly kind and helpful as well as jump rush being a fun and practical way of getting physical activity done.

Lancaster Castle, a substantial fortress dating back to the 12th century, offers a range of attractions including a museum, guided tours, and activities for children. The John O Gaunt Gatehouse is an impressive feature with semi-octagonal towers rising 20 meters above sloping plinths. The castle has served various purposes throughout history, from a Roman station to a notorious prison.
Until recently a working prison, Lancaster Castle offers an amazing insight into modern and ancient history. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Wonderful café on site which you can visit without paying an entry fee.
Adam L — Google review
Had a wonderful and interesting tour by Sandra. You do need a tour to see most of the castle, but it was well worth it. Courtyard and businesses inside are free otherwise. Fascinating to be inside both the historic (and only closed recently) prison and the still functioning crown courts. Building is stunning and lovely views from just outside too
George L — Google review
Amazing place to visit we had a coffee and sat in the grounds. You can pay £9 to go on a tour as well. It also has holding cells that are currently used for HM Prison. There are only a few Parking spaces outside that you have to buy a ticket for . Recommended
Wheelz A — Google review
We took the guided tour of the castle, reasonable for £9 per person. Since it used to be a working prison and parts of it are still a working court, you have to take the guided tour to see the full thing. We had a lovely guide, very engaging and informative. The tour lasts about an hour. The castle has a lot of history, quite a lot of it is dark, the tour touches upon these themes too. There is a Prison Museum too. The courtroom is part of the tour, unless it is in session on the day. Photography isn't allowed in those parts of the tour. I would recommend visiting castle, doing the tour and then visiting the Priory at the back of the castle, there are some remains of roman baths too.
Saloni P — Google review
We did the tour as a family and it was really interesting. Great value for money. They give you lots of insight into the history and had a lot of knowledge. Simon made it fun and interesting and kept the whole group engaged. It’s my second time of going and I would go again. Dogs are not allowed but I couldn’t resist getting a snap of our dog there.
Simon M — Google review
Worth a visit the tour is only £9 PP. Lots of history and interesting things to see, from the court rooms, prison cells and torture chamber devices. Must be able bodied, as the castle is old, dark in places and lots of steps.
Alice — Google review
Arrived not really knowing what to expect and with no intention of doing a tour. However the very engaging man at the ticket office talked us into doing the tour and as it turns out I’m glad we did. ‘King’ David was an extremely entertaining guide and got us all involved in the commentary during the tour. Educational content and drama was in abundance and my wife and I were very happy with the afternoon in the castle. Highly recommended.
Terry N — Google review
You need to book on a tour to go inside. We arrived at 10am and booked onto the 10.45 tour so had a look round the Pendle Witches exhibition room and part of the police museum first. The tour inside was really interesting and the guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining. It lasted about 80min and was well worth the £9 fee.

Morecambe Golf Club, located on the Lancashire coast, has been a popular destination for golf enthusiasts for over a century. The 18-hole parkland-style course, designed by Dr Alistair MacKenzie, offers stunning views of Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland hills. The club's seafront setting provides picturesque sunsets and a tranquil atmosphere. Despite being a private members club, it hosts various functions and events in its multiple rooms.
I was invited by a member for lunch, you can only attend with another member. Although, they do have many functions here and there are multiple rooms so a number of functions/ events can be going on at once. It was a very quiet Saturday afternoon, not many people were in but the staff were preparing for an event that was to start in the evening this did not prevent our enjoyment. We ordered our drinks and sat in a beautiful spot with great views of the course and sea! We looked at the menu and put our orders in at the bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good with lots of fresh salad. We ordered a jacket potato which was a very good size, with tuna and cheese and a beef and onion gravy panini both were packed with filling. Although I do think the option of a sandwich rather than a panini would have been a good option. It really is a superb setting for any event. Unfortunately I can't comment on the golfing, I'm not a golfer but there did seem to be plenty of people out on the courses.

All in all as an international golfer we had a wonderful time, the hospitality at the club was wonderful and the 18 holes we played were stunning, HOWEVER upon closer inspection we did wonder about the cover up of a certain competition and the unjust outcome in 2005 quite the scandal it would seem..... #golfgate

Great greens, some interesting holes, very well kept couse and some tough par 3s. Came back a year later. Still a welcoming great course. I was most impressed with the speed of play. A 4 ball of senior ladies teed off 30 mins before us. We feared the worst but we couldn't keep up with them. Such a great set of members and staff. Thanks

This is one to see in Morecambe. Especially when it is sunny, it is very nice to walk down. There is a cafe as well. You will also notice a bell at the side which is called Time and Tide Bell. This bell is set to ring as the tide comes in or out. Pretty cool.

Lovely area to visit. Plenty of seating and excellent views of the bay and Lake District in the further background. Beautifully built and goes out fairly far so you can be surrounded by the sea! Very clean!

Excellent place to visit with or without children any time of year. Puzzles & mazes on the jetty, fishing from the end. Fabulous views of Morecambe Bay & Lake District, the sea in all its moods, the birds & the sunsets. Cafe open Easter to October.

Lovely stone jetty jutting out into Morecambe bay and flanked by beaches that are both rocky & sandy. The jetty is very popular with those who like to fish off the end. Nice wide surface, with plenty of seating and lots of decorations of various birds (it's a recurrent theme in the town). Near the end there's a small cafe selling basic meals at a good price. It's a nice easy walk with good views across the bay.

What a great place! We booked the climbing wall for our two children (10 &5). We hadn't visited before, and travelled from Preston. I was really impressed with the whole set up, the leisure centre is spotless throughout and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. We used the cafe whilst we were there and the soft play area. Would definitely book again. The free car park is a great bonus too!

Excellent all round, from the facilities to the staff. New favourite place. Grace from the Gym Team introduced me to the gym and took me through my induction today: an important first step for me, I wanted to make sure I felt safe and supported as I took my first steps back into training after years of neglecting my fitness and taking it for granted. The reception team couldn't have been more friendly, welcoming and efficient. Any nerves I might've had settled quickly as a consequence. The machines have moved on a lot since I last saw the inside of a gym! Really impressed by the quality and the range of equipment on offer. Grace was enthusiastic, patient with my questions (I had plenty), informative and knowledgeable. It was important to me to feel like I was being properly listened to and that any concerns I had were addressed thoroughly. I have a long journey ahead, intend on taking it slow and steady and am prepared for building new habits: training as I will be will a low-level knee injury, it means a lot to know there are qualified, experienced PTs like Grace and the team on hand to support me when I need them. The first of many high quality gym sessions under my belt today. Looking forward very much to the next visit. Thanks everyone.

I often visit with my children at weekends, but for the second time I’ve had to listen to inappropriate language from the kitchen, including badmouthing other members of the team!! It’s rude, unprofessional, and embarrassing — especially in a family café where children are present. A lovely setting, but the lack of basic manners really lets it down…
Claire W — Google review
Enjoyed the energy soft play area yesterday so would have be a 4 rating. Asked about the climbing area at that time and was told opening times for the next day but they failed to mention you had to pre book due to the holidays. Paid for taxi to and from just to be told it was fully booked. Very unhappy children and parents. Only visiting for the day and fully booked all day so no alternative times possible. They should have mentioned pre booking it when we asked. Not a good luck for a establishment ran by the Lancaster City Council. An expensive morning for nothing.

Visit here often with my 2 children, we use the swimming, indoor & outdoor play areas. All runs very well and is nice and clean. Today my son tripped and fell outside and had a few nasty grazes on him. A lovely lady called Lucy helped with great care and professionalism whilst administering first aid and patching his wounds. Thank you Lucy.
Steven T — Google review
I visited this gym three times using the pay-as-you-go option (£11.80 per session), which I found quite expensive for what’s essentially a standard gym visit. The gym itself is well-equipped, clean, and the machines are in good condition. However, every visit was during peak times, and the weight area was consistently overcrowded. Many users occupied machines for long periods while on their phones, making it difficult to complete a proper workout. I’d strongly recommend going early in the morning or around 2 PM for a quieter experience. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall, I’m giving 4 stars due to the busyness during peak hours and the high PAYG cost. I wouldn’t recommend the PAYG option unless you’re visiting off-peak

The Morecambe FC Mazuma Stadium is a modern sports facility with floodlit sports pitches, a gym, changing facilities, function rooms, and a bar. It has an inviting mix of contemporary amenities and traditional charm. The stadium is well-utilized by both locals and visitors, hosting various events throughout the year. Its standout feature is the pitch, which is in excellent condition. Convenient off-street parking adds to the overall ease of access for visitors.
Visited on a matchday. Lots going on outside the ground before kick off. Enjoyed visiting the club shop. There were lots of helpers around the ground offering help and support. Inside the ground i had a pie which I enjoyed. Food not overpriced. Found my seat which had a great view. Plenty of leg room. Brilliant game I had a great time there and hope I get the opportunity to go back there in the future. Fingers crossed you don't get relegated.
Mark T — Google review
Decent ground for away fans, with standing or seating choice. Arrived at the stadium via coach an hour before kickoff and there are some activities for home fans to enjoy outside the stadium prior to kickoff. The facilities weren’t necessarily the best in the away end with no handwash available in the toilets and the floor in the toilets wasn’t sanitary. If you are in the standing end, the away concourse consists of a few smoking areas, aforementioned toilets and a food stall, definitely not the roomiest concourse but a unique one. The standing stand was quite roomy for about 600 travelling fans and even then, a large part of the stand was made inaccessible, so it can definitely hold an amount of people. The stewards were nice and welcoming, greeting fans as they walked into the stands, and will help if you require assistance on a matchday. Although a very underwhelming loss and a first win at home in 9 months for the home side, i thoroughly enjoyed my new years day belting out chants getting behind my team, thanks for the quality day, Morecambe, and best endeavors for the season.

Solid little ground, Not exactly massive but of decent standard for lower level league two, upper national league team. Very close to the pitch even higher up the stand. So I support Oldham Athletic and Yesterday I was on a long journey from Manchester where I live to watch my Beloved Oldham Athletic Vs Dundee United in a Friendly away. I have been keeping up with the news around Morecambe FC and there dire situation with regards to club being in a financial crisis and staff and players having not been paid for weeks and matches being cancelled etc. So I decided to write "We Support Morecambe FC" on a old Oldham Athletic shirt and take a detour to the Mazuma Stadium 🏟 to show some love and support for the Mighty Morecambe FC as I did a few years ago with our Local rivals Bury FC who were sadly expelled from the football ⚽️ league after just gaining promotion at the end of the season. Bolton Wanderers were in a similar predicament at the same time but managed to survive and now it's Morecambe and Sheffield Wednesday who are in a similar position, A few seasons ago we had an owner who was destroying our Club(Oldham Athletic) and we were hours away from going into administration but luckily local business man Frank Rotwell bought the club and then went on to buy the stadium(Boundary Park) 🏟 and the land around the ground. We then rebuilt from the bottom up and invested heavily in decent players and luckily it paid off and after a few seasons we were in the National League(Non League) and made it through to the play off finals Vs Southend United where we were 1-0 down after a few minutes of the match kicking off then we were denied a clear penalty but then another set piece and we got a penalty which we scored to make it 1-1. It was 1-1 at full time so extra time kicked off and again almost immediately Southend United scored again to make it 2-1 and we were facing being beaten and having to stay in the National League but just as we were losing faith we scored from nothing and just 2 minutes later Kian Harratt scored for Oldham Athletic to make it 3-2 with a few minutes to go until full time and we won 🏆 and we were promoted to League Two. We have everything crossed for Morecambe FC and hopefully things get sorted 🤞

Spent a lovely family day here today. 😎 Haven't been to Morecambe for years and we were amazed at the transformation we saw. We walked along a beautiful new sea wall which separated the rocky breakwater from the sea and sand. There were amazing views across the bay too. Highly recommended

Morecambe Promenade is a fantastic place to visit whether you’re walking, cycling, or just sitting with a coffee to take in the view. The wide open bay is stunning, especially at sunset, and on a clear day you can see right across to the Lake District fells. When visiting Morecambe, even if the weather isn't ideal, you can still find plenty of entertainment options. One standout choice is Reel Cinema Morecambe, conveniently located on Central Drive. This multiplex cinema showcases a selection of four current blockbusters, making it a perfect spot to catch that film you've been eager to see. While the venue may have a slightly dated feel and some facilities could use an upgrade—like the restrooms—the overall experience remains enjoyable.
Really quiet and functional place. Tickets were very affordable. Snacks a bit pricey but still a steal. It’s not like the new typical cinemas these days, but still cosy. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Denise R — Google review
Seats are completely warn out. Sank it to the chair no springs in seat and awkward angle for seating back. As a person with a disability extremely disappointed with the experience. Relatively small screen, sound was okay. All felt very tired not a good visit.
Judith M — Google review
Not a bad cinema location at all. Obviously food and drink is expensive like most cinemas but the tickets were very cheap and the staff were incredibly friendly. Its old, rustic interior gave it an authentic feel which I quite enjoyed. The screens and audio themselves are up to standard, only issue is most of the time you will have to look up to see the screen as the seats aren’t levelled. Other than that, lovely experience.
Will R — Google review
Great cinema, I was really surprised at just how cheap it is. Great selection on snacks and drinks! My daughter and her friend loved it.
Lauren L — Google review
Very fair pricing when it comes to actual tickets- food has always been expensive there, it is a cinema so I can’t blame them following the norm. Staff are always very friendly, however I do think they need to clean the place up a bit. Outside really does need a makeover and the floors need mopping, often sticky and just sickly.
Nagster — Google review
This is my local cinema, within walking distance so is perfect. Had my first bad experience tonight watching the Minecraft film but that was down to the “culture” of the fanbase. I’m very tall and in some screen rooms there is a row of seats with extra leg space which is perfect for me as I always end up with cramp or ache in my legs. Condiments are unsurprisingly overpriced but they basically just allow you to take your own stuff in anyway.
Mike O — Google review
Freindly staff ..easy east access for disabled people and clean although there was abit of a musty smell on the seats but all round good experience.

Students have the opportunity to test out their sea legs with the Taster Fun Sail or enhance their skills through hands-on experience on the beautiful "Lily," a 22ft Jeanneau Sun 2000 keelboat/yacht.

John gave me the confidence to build on my existing skills (dinghy sailing L1&2), to full hands on the beautiful "Lily", their 22ft Jeanneau Sun 2000 keelboat/yacht. I have my first Flotilla holiday planned around the Greek Ionian Islands and completing the Seamanship course has provided me with solid theory and practical expertise in course management, sail trimming, boat balance, reefing (vmt), anchoring and using transits to help decision making when manouvering under power / sail, especially in the fast flowing tidal waters at Morecombe! Bay School are the real deal if you are serious about progressing your sailing experience and competence. Richly rewarding and worth every penny; thank you John and Deirdre. See you again very soon.

John and Deidre are a dream team. Both lovely people with excellent communication skills. John is really patient and provides expert tuition on his boat, Lily. He is very knowledgeable with so much experience and eager to share. We enjoyed 2 days of sailing, one of us at level 1 and one at level 2, which he makes work really well. We both are looking forward to taking further tuition in the future as we came away with so much more than we had hoped. Thanks John and Deidre.

I found john to be a excellent instructor, he makes you feel very much at ease ,his teaching style is aimed at keeping this students relaxed while they learn, i would have no problem recommending bay sea school if you would like to learn to sail.

Williamson Park, located just outside the bustling city center of Lancaster, covers 54 acres of parkland and offers a serene escape from urban life. The park features woodland walks, play areas, and a domed skyline memorial known as the Ashton Memorial. This Grade 1 listed structure was built in the early 20th century in memory of James Williamson's late wife. Visitors can also enjoy coastal views across Morecambe Bay and Fylde Coast.
Definitely one of the best parks in the UK. It has a mini zoo (with small admission fees) inside with animals kept with care. Our son loved the mini zoo and the butterfly gallery. The view is scenic, and perfect to have your packed lunch. There is also a lovely cafe on top of the hill inside the park (and the coffee is great). Public toilets are also available. If you are planning to visit Lancaster, this place is worth the price and time. There is a direct bus from the city centre (near the station). So, if you don't have a car, the public transport is good enough to make the trip.

A wonderful place to spend a day or a few hours! The park is perfect for walking and relaxing, with beautiful paths, ponds, and even a mini zoo. Families will love the playgrounds, and everyone can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The views from the park are absolutely spectacular, especially around the Ashton Memorial. If you’re visiting Lancaster without a car, it’s easy to reach by taking bus number 18 from the city centre. Highly recommended for a relaxing day out. 🌿✨

A well kept secret in Lancashire!! A beautiful and well kept 54 acres park, so wonderful in the outskirts of Lancaster and so close to the university. The Ashton memorial is magnificent! The little zoo and butterfly house are a delight. A small fee to access the former and a parking fee for a whole day parking. Pack a picnic bag, take your friends, your pet, your loved ones, it will be a well spent day in this gorgeous place. A

We had a great time at the park. We climbed the steps to the tower, enjoyed a nice coffee at the kiosk and went on a forest walk. An absolute delight

Such a beautiful park. Visited this park in January and had great views from the top of the hill, breathtaking views out towards Morecambe Bay. Lovely cafe with plenty of seating. Perfect for a Sunday morning walk.

This is a review from Howie and Selena Wolstenholme. We had the best wedding at the Ashton Memorial in May of this year!! Beth, Tyler and the team did an amazing job of organising all our vendors and bringing our dream wedding alive. They could not do enough for us on the day. This is the most beautiful and romantic wedding venue and we highly recommend having your day here. Thank you so much for everything

Cafe with a view is an understatement. This is a 360 degrees spectacle. We sat outside on a wonderful clear warm afternoon watching the world go by eating a lovely lunch consisting of a beautiful quiche with side salad and obligatory chips that are a must for all salad lovers and one of the best steak pies with chips mushy peas and gravy I have had in a very long time. Staff were amazing the owner a super chap and very friendly indeed. Visit again we will.

We LOVED our trip to the Stone Gate Cafe. We were 3 generations and dined on Morecambe Bay potted shrimps on toasted crumpets with tasty salad garnish, and an egg and bacon bap, followed by really good coffee (I had affogato) and a giant slice of egg yolk coloured Jaffa cake. So friendly. Liked the painting just along from table 1. Really jolly both decor and the owners. Deservedly busy. Would go again in a flash! Thank you for having us.

Beautiful place to visit if you are in Morecambe or Lancaster, I will definitely recommend to visit The Stone Jetty. Views are beautiful and especially if you are in the right time for the high tide you'll enjoy wonderful sea, waves and seagulls in the sky. There is also nice coffee place to have a break. So just come and enjoy.

Venus and Cupid is a captivating sculpture overlooking Morecambe Bay, designed by Shane Johnstone in 2005. The statue aims to honor motherhood, unconditional love, loss, and heartbreak. It offers a unique photo opportunity and is located near Happy Mount Park. While there's no detailed explanation about the sculpture's story or designer, visitors appreciate its mosaic finish despite some tiles coming off due to frost. The location provides stunning views of the bay and is particularly recommended for sunset visits.

A quiet part of the promenade opposite golf course and near to Happy Mount park. Nice if you just want a rest n a view. There is a car park n burger/butty joint in car park. Good views, peaceful.
Neil P — Google review
I visit this statue every time I come to Morecambe. (No tickets needed. This statue is in a public space.) Last time I visited, repairs had been undertaken, replacing tiles where possible, and gilding where this was not possible. Sadly it is again in need of repair, due, according to the sign, to frost damage last winter. But Venus and Cupid (Mother and child) is still lovely. A fitting memorial to the cockle pickers who drowned in the bay.
Heather B — Google review
Lovely statue in keeping with the fab view over the bay, 5ish mins walk from Happy Mount Park. I find it nicer than central Morecambe as it's not as busy so a great part of the prom my children to ride their scooters without annoying anybody.
Caroline J — Google review
Parking down the road. Shame no write up to explain the story behind the sculpture or who designed it. Just notices to say no climbing or swinging on it. Mosaic finish, but due to frost the tiles are coming off.

Tiled art set just off the coastline. Pretty

A decent sculpture, but very poorly executed, feels like it's just been dumped into the mud. Currently surrounded by a wire mesh security fence which further ruins it.

Historical landmark
The Cracoe War Memorial is a significant landmark in the Yorkshire Dales, offering breathtaking 360-degree views on clear days. The trail to the memorial starts from lower Barden reservoir and passes through upper Barden reservoir before reaching Rylstone Cross. From there, it's a 30-minute hike to the war memorial. The area provides stunning panoramic vistas of Simon's Seat, Beamsley Beacon, Ilkley Moor, Great Whernside, Grassington, and old lead mines.
Started down the track from lower Barden resevoir, up to upper Barden resevoir then around to Rylstone Cross. Then another 30mins up the trail to Cracoe War Memorial. Amazing 360 degree views on a clear day. Can be quite windy up here but there's several spots to avoid it depending on the direction. Looking south you can see Simon's seat, Beamsley Beacon and across to Ilkley Moore. North you can see great whernside, Grassington and the old lead mines, and much more!

Park in Rylstone and walk up to the cross (bit of a lung buster) and walk onto the war memorial. Stunning views from the top. As per usual the land owner doesn't allow dogs. Just keep your dog under control and you'll be fine.
