The Basilica of Santa Eufemia, located in the historical town of Grado, is an ancient Catholic church renowned for its ornate art. This beautiful example of Byzantine architecture dates back to the 6th century and houses valuable artworks such as mosaics, frescoes, and altarpieces. Adjacent to the Basilica is the Santa Maria delle Grazie church, both featuring impressive mosaics and frescoes.
Beautiful church, open during the day on weekdays and weekends (free admission).
Gábor B — Google review
"A visit to the basilica is an absolute must when you are in the city. Its rich history, dating back to the [e.g., 12th century], offers a profound glimpse into the region's past. The view of the basilica itself is truly impressive; its [e.g., soaring Gothic architecture/grand Baroque facade] dominates the cityscape and is breathtaking from every angle. Inside, you'll be captivated by the shimmering, intricate mosaics that adorn the entire floor, depicting [e.g., stunning biblical narratives/complex geometric patterns]. Furthermore, the collection of beautifully carved statues of saints inside adds to the profound spiritual atmosphere of the church. Allow yourself at least an hour to fully immerse yourself in its beauty and history."
Damir — Google review
I was impressed by this Basilica. By first look it doesn't looks so important and noble, but than you discover, that it has great mosaics on the whole tloris. That there are no frescoes, but you can still sees remainings of its frescoes on the walls. That there is an amazing octagonal baptisterium separated from church building. There is also a free museum with antique marble stone collection. The basilica has also treasure with in the vault. There is also famous golden altar. But at the end you can feel small and just sit down on the bench and pray with gratitude to God.
Gaber Z — Google review
A very old church, in the historical town Grado. I recommend visiting it, if you spend some time in this beautiful town. When you attend the holy mass on sunday you can hear the wonderful chore during the mass, mainly consisting of elder Grado citizens. A pleasant experience.
Márton S — Google review
Ancient church in the heart of "Old Grado". The whole area is extremely worthy of a tour. There is a "labirinth" of narrow alleys and streets that open - almost suddenly - in small squares ("Calli"). Often there are restaurants, almost hidden but valuable.
Roberto V — Google review
Visiting the Basilica di Saint'Euphemia in Grado was a truly moving experience. The atmosphere inside is serene and filled with history — the stunning mosaics, the graceful architecture, and the sense of timelessness make this place incredibly special. A must-visit while in Grado!

Stabilimento Balneare Costa Azzurra is a popular beach destination suitable for visitors of all ages. The fine sand and pleasant water make it an ideal spot for relaxation and recreation. With the option to rent umbrellas and loungers, as well as designated areas for personal beach setups, guests can enjoy the convenience that suits their preferences. The beach offers various amenities including small bars serving snacks and drinks, while nearby restaurants provide additional dining options.
Today we had a great day at Spiaggia Costa Azzura. You can rent umbrella and sunbed, or stay in a free space. The maritime establishment provide several services like nice bar on the beach, showers and toilet for a fee. Recommended.
Martina — Google review
A large and fairly clean beach. Unfortunately only a small piece is free - the rest is paid sunbeds, toilets and showers. Water clean but one day there was a lot of algae in it. The entrance to the sea is smooth so children can safely swim.
Arkadiusz K — Google review
Best of the beach concessions if you want a quitter life. Last one on the beach with less aggressive music choices and a decent enough cafe (though definitely a significant drop in quality and selection of dishes compared to a couple of years ago). Not cheap (€25 per day for an umbrella and two sun beds) but well run and on a great beach.
Simon W — Google review
Nice beach, cleaner than others in this area. 2 sunbed and 1 umbrella costs 27 euro/ day. There is changing place and shower for what you need to pay. Sea is also clean enough, definitely we liked this beach the best in this week whst we spent here
Angelika H — Google review
It‘s ok, If you come with the right expectations. It’s a highly crowded beach with loud music often playing all day long (August). If your umbrella is close to the boxes, you‘ll have a hard time to relax. At 7pm everybody gets kicked out of the (private) beach chair. It’s understandeable that the beach has got to be kept clean overall, but if you rather enjoy the sunset, you better bring your own chairs. The staff at the beach bar is very kind and working hard on providing a great service 5/5.
Patrick — Google review
Great beach, clean water. The beach bar/café offers good and affordable sandwiches, piadine etc. We loved it.
Cecilia G — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach. Sea entrance is long and shallow, perfect for kids. You can pay for umbrella and sunbeds, but there is also place without this service. Cold shower is for 0,2€, hot shower for 0,5€. There are bars and caffees nearby.

Nature & Parks
Parco delle Rose is a delightful green space nestled between the shoreline and contemporary and traditional structures. This park boasts stunning scenery throughout the year, offering a haven for children to revel in the outdoors with its well-equipped playground. The local authorities diligently enhance this recreational area by regularly introducing new play facilities. However, during scorching summer months, it can be challenging to find sufficient shade within the park's premises. Additionally, visitors may feel inconvenienced by the lack of nearby refreshment vendors.

Spiaggia Grado Pineta is a large and popular beach area with plenty of space for guests. Visitors can easily park nearby and enjoy quick access to the water, as well as stunning views of Grado's silhouette in the evening. Nature lovers will appreciate the calm atmosphere and cycling opportunities along the beach, with some areas being public and free. At low tide, it's possible to walk far into the sea and even spot a small island.

A very quiet and peaceful part of the beach in Grado. The swimming is not great, as other have already written but there is a shower if you need to cool off and the seabottom doesnt agree with you. The restaurant is really good both in terms of service an quality. The facility is clean and neat. You go here for the relaxed, superfriendly, atmosphere.,

(Translated by Google) The sea slopes very gently here—which isn't a problem in itself. What is a problem is that at the eastern end of the beach, the swimming zone ends before you can swim, and at a water depth of about 30-50 cm (depending on the tide), seagrass meadows begin, which, as far as I know, are a protected ecosystem. Therefore, in my opinion, a) the beach itself should be relocated, or b) a jetty should be built to provide a swimming area outside the seagrass meadows.

(Translated by Google) It's not open sea, but a lagoon. The seabed is very muddy, and after a few meters, it sinks to mid-calf depth. There's a lot of seaweed, at least in mid-July. The water is clean but a bit muddy. The beach is beautiful, with fine sand. It's the ideal place for those with small children and for those who enjoy sailing.

Basilica della Corte - resti, located in Biagio Marin Square, is a fascinating archaeological site in the heart of Grado. The remains of the 4th-century Basilica della Corte have been uncovered, allowing visitors to admire the well-preserved wall structures, intricate mosaic floors with geometric designs, and even some sarcophagi. Glass walkways provide an up-close view of these ancient ruins while creating a unique and atmospheric experience, especially when illuminated at night.
Very beautifully arranged to show antient mosaics, pillars, tombs, walls, yet still preserve the integrity of the town square. One can stroll across the bridges over the ancient excavations and enjoy conversation with friends and the atmosphere of the site.

Excavations show the remains of very ancient Christian churches built on this site. Maybe built about 550AD the excavations clearly show the extent of the church(es). Towards the read of the church, there are a couple of large catafalques. worth a visit in passing.

(Translated by Google) An interesting historical site in Grado! The early Christian remains of the Basilica della Corte, dating back to the 4th century, were discovered in 1902 during restoration work in Piazza Biagio Marin in Grado's historic center. Sections of the mosaic floor with geometric patterns and names, some sarcophagi, and walls that marked the building's layout are now free to view. The area is accessible via walkways that provide better visibility. And next to this place is a bar with the best coffee :) (Original) Ok.... Let me start in order. Parking Is just about doable, although be prepared to walk. There is a park with pine trees which provide shade. Many families stay here and have a picnic as it's also close to the beach. Prices at the bars are not too bad. In my opinion, the area needs investment.

You have to walk at least 500 m. until the water is high enough to cover your knees. The sea is abnormally warm and full of algae. On top of that, we had to pay 18 euros for an umbrella and two chairs. I don't recommend going in Amy if these beaches...
Evangelia T — Google review
There is no information at the entrance that the reservation system exists. We were asked to leave one set of chairs and umbrella as apparently it was reserved. The service guy advice we should take any of the sets close to the pathway, near kids playgrounds. Shortly after taking one, another guy came and said it is reserved again. Bordello bum bum! 😅

Spiaggia Costa Azzurra is a stunning beach located in Northern Italy, celebrated for its picturesque shoreline and inviting atmosphere. This sandy haven features warm, clear waters that are perfect for families, especially with young children due to the shallow depths. While a small section of the beach offers free access, most areas require an entrance fee. Visitors should be aware that restroom facilities could use some improvement and showers come at a cost.
Free entrance to a small part of the beach, the rest is for 💶However the sea is warm and clear. Parking is terrible though in the streets, also for 💶 . Lovely Italian town but very crowded. Worth a visit!

The best beach in Grado and the surrounding area (for me as I live in Vicenza) and really clean sea . Parking is terrible though in the streets, also for . Lovely Italian town but very crowded. Worth a visit . It's very shallow, recommended for younger children. However the sea is warm and clear, the low tide brings nice dunes and joy for the kids. There is a slowly deepening sandy beach, lots of shells and snails on the beach. A very nice sandy beach where you can go for a walk . It is ideal for adults and children to have fun, relax . The sea is very gentle, ideal for children .

Spiaggia Principale is a fantastic sandy beach with shallow waters, making it perfect for swimming and enjoying the sun. The beach offers free amenities such as toilets, showers, and plenty of cafes along the promenade. Visitors can enjoy the lovely atmosphere in the morning and evening when it's less crowded. It's important to note that access to the beach should not be denied as it is free for all from the high tide mark inland 5 meters.

Nicola M — Google review
Beach entrance in August 2023 was €27 for 2 sunbeds and umbrella. The beach was ok, quite clean, with free toilets, showers, lots of cafes along the promenade. The sea is really very, very shallow. It takes about 20 minutes to go in and swim. In the evening, at low tide, the sea becomes even shallower.
Vikki V — Google review
During our road trip, we made a refreshing stop for a swim at Spiaggia Principale in Grado. We found parking easily near the beach, which was a pleasant surprise. Since we only planned to take a quick dip, we didn’t rent any sun loungers (which would have been quite expensive) —instead, we headed straight to the shoreline for swimming. The beach itself is very shallow, and there can be some algae in the water. At low tide, the shoreline likely recedes quite far, making the walk to deeper water a bit longer. A little further out, there’s a floating swim platform where the water is noticeably deeper and better for swimming. While we didn’t find the beach particularly beautiful, it was clean enough and perfect for a short stop. The town of Grado itself seemed interesting. We might just return one day to explore it more.
Heikki K — Google review
Horrible what the City of Grado did, this has to be the biggest Scam ever. One would think the Italian mafia came up with this rip-off you have to pay 40 euros to get in, you cannot walk thru, they fenced off the whole area, and they lock it up at night, so you can’t walk the beach in the evening to watch the sunset, nothing all controlled ????? NO Public Beach, the Public Beach is located all the way at the end (about 1.5km), I would recommend everyone go to the Public Beach that’s where all the Italians go Stay away from the Paid beach I will NOT be returning to Grado

(Translated by Google) Dear Spiaggia Grado team! How can it be that despite your enormously growing income from umbrellas/loungers/beach fees and after the endless renovation of the spas, only ONE SINGLE TOILET is provided for around 2500 bathers in the spas?? It's really a shame, it's annoying to have to wait in line every time, and on top of that, two "private" toilets right next door are locked. Is it really desirable for everyone to do their “business” in the sea? (This was smilingly recommended to us by locals). Before the thermal baths were renovated, there were two toilets on the outside/promenade, where did they go? Please do something!!! (Original) Sehr geehrtes Spiaggia Grado Team! Bitte machen Sie was!!!

In the late afternoon, we paid 15 euros for 2 deck chairs with a parasol, which were assigned to us far from the sea, and it was a relaxing day right by the sea. The crawl is quite OK, the sea spinave with a lot of old races. After I had covered 100 m and had water up to my thighs all the time, I gave up and went back to the beach. Lungomare Nazario Sauro is a stunning seafront promenade in Trieste, Italy. It offers a picturesque setting for leisurely walks along the coast, with beautiful views of the sea and plenty of fresh air. Even during winter, it remains popular with locals and visitors alike, who come to stroll or jog along its length. The area is well-maintained and clean, providing a serene atmosphere for relaxation.

(Translated by Google) We recently went to Grado for a relaxing 😌 day trip, taking a stroll 🚶🏻‍♂️ here too. Arriving in town around 2:30 pm 🕝, we parked near the marina and then headed towards the center. Taking the Lungomare Nazario Sauro, we walked a stretch of it to the Largo "Pier Paolo Pasolini", which overlooks the monument to the Fallen of the Air Force and the back of the town hall 🏫. This pedestrian walkway is very pleasant, allowing the Grado community, but also simple visitors like us, to enjoy an open-air space with a splendid view 👁 directly over the sea 🌊. The architectural layout is characterized by a modern and futuristic style (not being an expert, I wouldn't know how to define it exactly in the most appropriate terms), creating a great visual impact right from the start. There are also, at least along the stretch we walked, a couple of large pools with their associated nozzles (which were dry at the time of our visit) that fit well into the context of the place. Like these, some large flowerbeds with various types of plants 🌿 (including agaves and palms 🌴) are also beautifully displayed. At the beginning of the walk, a panel has been placed with a vintage black and white photo depicting the beach 🏖, however, I didn't see any other captions providing information ℹ about the history and peculiarities of the area. Near the aforementioned Largo Pasolini, however, a sign reports some work on "breakwater barrier repairs" 🏗🧱 (see attached photos 📸 📎). I would love to return to continue the walk 🚶🏻‍♂️ and, of course, also to visit the center in more depth. P.S. ❗️❗️❗️GOOGLE CENSORS❗️❗️❗️ REVIEW REPUBLISHED WITH THIS NEW PROFILE CREATED FOLLOWING THE SHAMEFUL AND UNJUSTIFIED BLEACHING OF THE PREVIOUS ONE BY GOOGLE ADMINISTRATORS ❗️❗️❗️STOP CENSORSHIP❗️❗️❗️ (Original) Di recente ci siamo recati a Grado per una rilassante 😌 gita fuori porta, concedendoci due passi 🚶🏻‍♂️ anche qui. Spiaggia Le Dune di Grado is a beautiful and long sandy beach that offers natural beauty and a pleasant atmosphere. It is known for being family-friendly with shallow waters, making it ideal for children to play and collect shells. Despite being a free beach, it is well-maintained and clean, with convenient facilities such as clean toilets. The presence of trees adds to the charm of the beach, providing some shade on sunny days.
Quiet and special beach where you can walk, have a sun bath or swimm. International customers. Perfect for kids because there is no deep water for a while.

Two dressing cabins: not working Shower: 0.5€, ok, but there is only one shower on the whole beach for so many people!!! We could only change clothes in the toilets, and behind the toilets there are sinks with rubber hoses, so you can "shower" there for free. It was one of the hottest days of the summer, so all the sunbeds and umbrellas were sold out. But you can lie down under the trees behind the sandy beach. It was much cooler than the scorching hot sand. The sea is shallow, so it is perfect for children. And there are good bars too. But don't expect Italian ice cream there. Overall, this beach is quiet and peaceful, with lot of friendly people. No annoying loud background music from the bars. But it could be a little bit more equipped.

Museum is still closed, more than 25 years after its construction. A monument to mismanagement of public money. The museum has the remains of the roman boat from third century AD, found in the nearby Marano lagoon in 1986.
