Park
Higginson Park, an award-winning 23-acre park located along the banks of the River Thames, offers visitors a picturesque setting with lush lawns and beautiful flowerbeds. The park features walking paths and viewpoints that provide stunning views of the river. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as renting rowing boats or taking relaxing passenger boat trips from the jetty. Additionally, there is a playground for children to enjoy and an outdoor cafe for visitors to relax and take in the scenic surroundings.
Lovely park, accessible for all. Family and dog friendly. Lovely long walk along the river and there is a cute cafe as well. Perfect for a picnic as well! Definitely recommend. What I would say is be careful of seagulls because there are a few rogue ones but 99% of the time you fine

Marlow is such a lovely town — peaceful, scenic, and full of charm. We spent a wonderful day at Higginson Park, which is beautifully maintained and perfect for a relaxing walk or picnic by the river. The highlight was hiring a boat from The Little Green Boat Company. The staff were so friendly and explained everything clearly, making us feel comfortable right away. Cruising along the Thames was an unforgettable experience — calm water, stunning views, and total relaxation. A perfect way to enjoy the natural beauty of Marlow. Highly recommended!
Manu S — Google review
Lovely park by the river. Children's play area, a couple of cafes and public toilets. A place to relax on one of the many benches, stroll along the river or watch a cricket match.
Jan F — Google review
Beautiful park, with the river running beside it, great for walks with the family. Also, lovely update to the children's play park. My two had lots of fun climbing and swinging on numerous apparatus. The benefit of having a fence around the play park helps keep my mind at peace too. With two kids you're always with one and watching the other over your shoulder. Knowing they are safe with the fencing around helps a lot with any anxious feeling on the day.
Hayley G — Google review
Lots of cherished memories in this park. It’s lovely, an incredible walk along the Thames with historic homes and natural wonders. I captured these on 35mm on the my last visit
Kai A — Google review
Beautiful park with lots to do and walks alongside the river Thames. Would definitely visit again.
Martin D — Google review
Went here recently as my wife was doing a charity walk that went over Marlow bridge. This park is a brilliant place people of all ages, but especially those with young children. The play park is really good and has a great range of equipment for all ages of child. It's also right on the banks of the Thames so a great place for watching boats and wildlife. The cafe is lovely and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The toilets were in very good condition and very clean.
Pete H — Google review
Great for picnics on sunny days or to Moor up & chill on your boat. Moorings are owned by the council and are the most expensive on the Thames, but typically council they are poorly maintained with mooring posts about to fall into the river, probably with your boat floating downstream with them. Great location close to high street shops & bars.

Restaurant
"The Hand and Flowers" is a charming, whitewashed pub that offers an exceptional dining experience with a modern twist. The restaurant, led by Tom Kerridge, is renowned for its elevated pub classics and top-notch cuisine. The cozy bar and terrace provide a perfect setting to enjoy a wide selection of drinks before heading to the quirky dining room with period beams and pillars. The menu features carefully prepared pub dishes under headings of Meat, No Meat, and Sweet, all bursting with punchy flavors.
I went for lunch along with my fiance as well as my Mum and her husband. We were all blown away by the quality of the food and the relaxed but still incredibly well organised and sharp staff. Three of us got the lunch menu which was £65 for three courses all of which were good portion sizes and delicious. The complementary bread was excellent but the whitebait was out of this world, salty and a bit smokey, excellent with a beer! I had the classic menu for £95 which was just amazing, the cod scotch egg was unique and rich, the pork belly was the best I have ever had and the rum cake was a nice and light ending to the meal. Even with the couple of drinks we had I thought the overall value for lunch was incredible and will be happy to come back next time I am in the area. They even let us go into the kitchen to see the magic happen and the kitchen staff answered some questions we had, which was very fun!
Jozef B — Google review
Visited for a special occasion and was not disappointed. Had the three course "house" menu at £175pp. Food was, as you'd expect, superb - focus seemed to be on really good classic dishes, rather than crazy molecular gastronomy. The atmosphere was pretty informal, no dress code, chatty, friendly staff. The venue is a good old fashioned British pub - low ceilings and beams, a little dark, but air-conditioned and comfortable. A really enjoyable experience. Whole thing came in at a little over £420 for two inc a single glass of wine, non-alcoholic cocktail and two teas.
Paul C — Google review
I’ve been to hand and flowers twice now and both times it was exceptional. The food is powerful and filling. The service is very good but a little stuffy and impersonal for my taste. I don’t know if they are just young and so are nervous but I would love a more friendly service as compared to the ‘don’t look the guest in the eye’ stuffy kind. But this is a minor note if I’m being picky. All said and done the whole ethos of this restaurant is basically perfect. The sausage roll is not for me - I prefer the puff pastry as compare to this more brioche style. The haddock omelette is the best you will ever have. The main courses are very filling and full of flavour and very well prepared. The desserts here are a standout so make sure you have room. Veteran note : go really hungry, you will be fed here.
Kevin D — Google review
Wonderful birthday meal for my wife. Easy to park and seated promptly upon arrival. Wide choice of menus and all food was well portioned, tasty and beautifully presented. Staff were lovely and attentive.
James A — Google review
We had lunch today and both my husband and I agreed that we had some of the best food we’ve ever eaten. We advised in advance that I’m dairy intolerant, and I was given a separate / adapted menu upon arrival, with choices for all 3 courses. Thank you for showing how amazing dairy free food can be with a bit of creativity and great skills. The staff were attentive but not over-fussing, which we felt was a good balance. The venison alone was worth the trip from Essex!
Helen E — Google review
What an amazing place! The food was exceptional as expected but what we really loved was how relaxed the place is. The staff are fantastic, service as you would expect from a 2 Michelin stared restaurant. Very highly recommended
Darren S — Google review
Lovely meal. The sausage roll was a pleasant snack to start the evening off. Lots of interesting flavours throughout the meal. Venison and poached fig was to die for. Rolled out of the restaurant after indulging!
Paddy W — Google review
From the moment we arrived, The Hand and Flowers delivered an unforgettable dining experience. Every dish was a masterclass in flavour — each mouthful bursting with complexity and finesse. The attention to detail, presentation, and perfectly balanced flavours left us all in awe. Without exception, we all agreed it was the finest meal we’ve ever had. Yes, it’s expensive — but absolutely worth it for such an extraordinary evening. A true celebration of gastronomy, and one we won’t soon forget.

Lookouts
Marlow Bridge, a historic suspension bridge constructed in 1832, spans the River Thames and provides passage for both vehicles and pedestrians. Designed by civil engineer William Tierney Clark, it replaced an older wooden bridge due to increasing 19th-century traffic. Interestingly, this bridge served as the model for a similar structure connecting Buda and Pest in Hungary.
Marlow is a picturesque town located on the River Thames, offering stunning views and beautiful scenery that captivate visitors year-round. The charming riverside setting, with its lush green landscapes, peaceful waters, and historic buildings, makes it an ideal destination for nature lovers and photographers alike. The area is home to an abundance of wildlife, particularly birds, which can be spotted along the riverbanks and surrounding nature reserves. Whether it's a family of swans gliding along the water or a variety of other birds in the trees, Marlow offers a perfect setting for birdwatching. One of the highlights of Marlow is the scenic canal walk. Strolling along the towpath allows you to soak in the tranquility of the river, surrounded by beautiful countryside views. It's a great spot for a peaceful walk, or for those looking to capture stunning photos of nature. The charming bridges, quaint houses, and scenic backdrops make Marlow a perfect location for a photoshoot. For a unique perspective of the town and its surroundings, taking a boat ride along the River Thames is a must. The gentle flow of the river, combined with the breathtaking scenery, offers a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Whether you're exploring on foot, capturing photos, or enjoying a boat ride, Marlow's beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere make it a wonderful destination for anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature.

Throughout my childhood, my school bus routes often took me past this bridge for 5.5 years while picking up my classmates. I've come to truly appreciate its remarkable architecture, which beautifully combines Victorian engineering with timeless elegance. On calm days, the way the stonework reflects in the water creates a stunning visual. Additionally, the bridge offers a pleasant pedestrian pathway that connects Marlow to Buckinghamshire. I also recall the Marlow Regatta taking place here, which adds to the area’s charm and is worth experiencing!

Stunning bridge and beautiful place to walk along the Thames River. The high street is full of fabulous shops, cafes and restaurants. A great place to stay the night or just stop for a few hours to explore.

Beautiful scenic place with park nearby for river walks. Plenty of restaurants & quaint shops on high street. Beautiful Everyman Cinema. Michelin star restaurants. Lovely walk across the bridge overlooking Marlow river watching boats & canoes going by.

Great place to walk along to or from Marlow high street. Takes you over the Thames for lovely views of the river and surrounding areas. Also provides plaques with small details about its history.

This town definitely worth a visit. I love the shops there and there’s a lovely afternoon tea spot overlooking a tiny waterfall.

Historic grade 1 listed bridge dating from 1832 that is currently undergoing repairs and restoration work The local council have said it was important to "preserve the bridge for the future", and it had consulted Heritage England and local heritage teams about the plans. It added that the 12 new bearings, which give support to the bridge deck, were designed to last for about 50 years.

Undeniably an attractive little suspension bridge dating from 1832 & " twin bridged " with one in Budapest. It is currently under repair & certainly in need of re painting. Traffic restrictions apply. Lovely views up & down the River Thames. However , I found Marlow town a little too trendy for my taste.

All Saints Church in Marlow is a Grade II* listed Victorian-era church known for its stunning architecture, high-quality stained glass, and monuments. The church stands at the entry to Marlow near the historic suspension bridge and dates back to the 1100s, although it was rebuilt in Gothic style in 1832 due to frequent flooding. Despite its age, the church remains open and functional, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
This is a beautiful church and there is so much to admire. It was also nice to see other people taking an interest and admiring the Church. It is also lovely to take a photograph of this Church from the Marlow Suspension Bridge. When I was trying to take a photo of this beautiful Church from a particular point on the Marlow Brige, a lady in a car yelled at me because she thought that I was trying to photograph people's plate numbers, when in actual fact, I was trying to photograph a wonderful building, hence the amount of photographs I took. I recommend visiting All Saints Church.
Alex K — Google review
Very friendly team & super welcoming with open door policy and LOTS or resources available to all! 🙏 A beautiful church in great scenic location!
Tristan I — Google review
Such a peaceful church, I visited on a Saturday and there was no one inside. There are a number of beautiful stained glass windows and a wooden vaulted ceiling. Excellent location by the river with the graveyard extending down to the waterfront and also on the other side of the church
Miles M — Google review
It's good to see this mainly Victorian splendour of a church open. It is still a lively and functional church, which is good to see. It has all the usual and expected features of an older place if worship and is well worth popping in the see and experience on any walk down the river bank and visit to the wonderful town of Marlow. A must visit place.
Mark L — Google review
Lovely friendly church. I have visited three times now and each time someone remembered my name and greeted my children. This church is doing a fabulous job supporting the local community as part of a Meals for Marlow programme over 150000 have been fed. There is a real sense of community and a lovely worshipful atmosphere.
Krish K — Google review
All Saints Church dominates the entry to Marlow via the historic suspension bridge (the latter constructed in 1860). This CoE denomination church was originally built around or before the 1100s, but in 1832 it was completely demolished – the main reason being constant flooding of the Thames River – and replaced by the Gothic-style church still there today. Featuring beautiful Victorian stained glass windows and impressive Willis organ dating back to 1876, the church has been an historically prominent component of the town’s fabric. Points of interest include wall monuments, the oldest to William and Ketheryne Willoughby and family, d. 1597, Recommend a visit.

Marlow town is the prettiest town on the river. The lock is ancient and glorious. Quite large, would hold several medium boats. There are toilets available for smaller vessels without facilities. Locks are easy to use if instructions are followed to the letter. 😍

Good place for Summer.
D S — Google review
It’s not every day a lock gets a mention, so I’ll shake things up a bit. Marlow lock, built in 1927, still functions today and during the summer months I suspect it can see many novice river boaters bash their way through it. The weir which is mentioned in the Domesday book, is a few yards away just the other side of the mooring jetties and sits in front of the Marlow suspension bridge and 19th century All Saints church. I’ve done my research. If you park up on Mill Road you should find a sign for the lock that’ll take you to the arched bridge and on to the lock and if that’s worn you out, there are a few benches allowing you to rest your weary feet. The lock is guarded by a fence so your dog is unlikely to launch itself into the watery expanse, like they do but saying that, just off to the side there are some steps leading down into the water. So probably best to do as the sign says and keep the thing on a lead. 3 out of 5 stars because it’s just a lock. It’s no Niagara Falls.

Nestled in the heart of Marlow, The Coach is a delightful British gastropub that perfectly blends a chic atmosphere with a relaxed vibe. With its charming wooden beams and inviting decor, it offers an eclectic menu that caters to all tastes. Guests can indulge in carefully crafted dishes categorized under Meat, No Meat, and Sweet. Signature offerings include duck liver parfait and cottage pie, alongside their famous profiteroles for dessert.
Loved this place. We went him for my mum's 70th as a special treat. Food was amazing, yes the portions are a little smaller but we all went home satisfied and felt we got good value for money. Everything tasted amazing. I wish I could have the chips every day!
Liam S — Google review
Had a good time here but not without its issues. The “pub” is very nice but also quite small, cramped even. I had what I suppose could be called a chef’s “table”, a seat at the bar sitting right in front of the head chief. I did enjoy watching the staff put things together, definitely a unique experience. The food was good but short of outstanding. Likewise the service was efficient but not what I’ve come to expect from a Michelin restaurant and certainly not warm and friendly. I enjoyed my meal at The Coach and it’s an easy recommendation but I’d think twice before a second visit.
Keith W — Google review
Wow, this was the best food I ever had and it was my birthday. If you go to the coach you will be over the moon with the price, but more the food. Everything I had was the best thing I ever had. But the mango and pineapple choux bun was by far the best for me. We are going to become regulars. Even tho I live in Newcastle. Thank you so much for the best experience for my 42 birthday ❤️
Ian R — Google review
Tom Kerridge's 1-star pub, The Coach, offers a unique experience with exceptional food quality (Sea Bass, Cod, Toffee Apple Choux Bun) and impeccable service. However, choosing the à la carte small plates over the cheaper set lunch resulted in poor value; the portions were simply too small for the price. The small-plate format is better suited for a quick, high-end bite or a young couple, not a traditional meal we were expecting.
Robert H — Google review
Cute and small pub🥰 All the dishes are “tapas” portion Highly recommend the liver parfait, it was very flavourful and the Brioche was toasted perfectly👏🏻 The coach burger was okay, the flavour was a bit underwhelming, the bun was dry. The hash brown was fried nicely tho, also it’s impossible to eat in one bite so it loses the joy of eating a burger The char-grilled cabbage was nicely seasoned with crispy rice crisp on top Sticky toffee pudding was delicious too
Chan M — Google review
Brilliant meal! Very relaxing atmosphere with lovely casual but attentive service. Good recommendations on both food and wine. Can’t wait to come back and eat again
Jack M — Google review
Marlow has so much to offer in the food arena and Tom Kerridge is Marlow royalty in the town. The Coach offers a taste of Kerridge at a more affordable price then his signature gastro pub The Hand and Flowers. Having been disappointed by my last visit to the Hand and Flowers, I was hoping that my first visit to The Coach might offer me a different perspective on Tom's cookery but unfortunately I was again left slightly disappointed. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was busy and vibrant but the food left me feeling flat. The quail and scotch egg were overly salty, think of the rim of a margarita when gulping down the cocktail, and the roast potatoes with beef fat hollandaise were on the bland side, think Aunt Bessie's cooked in an air fryer. That being said, there were some highlights, which make The Coach worth a visit. The cauliflower soup with cheddar and marmite samosa was delicious, I could have eaten a plate of the samosa as it was so tasty, and the treacle tart with clotted cream was a fantastic sweet treat to finish with. Overall, lots of great stuff to pamper the palette but some dishes may leave you feeling a little flat when the bill arrives.
Terence A — Google review
Unfortunately food and service were far below the normal standards. Our sides arrived with the last main which ment unfortunately we weren’t able to fully enjoy the other dishes. The Two Brewers is a historic British pub located near the Thames, housed in a red brick building dating back to 1727. It offers a traditional neighborhood atmosphere and serves classic British pub food at reasonable prices.
Had a great meal here. We came for the steak night promotion they've been running - which I think runs until the end of the year. I'm often underwhelmed with eating out these days, particularly with the big price tag that comes with it. But this was a fantastic meal at a great price. The steak was really well done, as were the sides. The newly done restaurant upstairs is really great. Highly recommend!

Great pub by the river in Marlowe. Great walk from Cookham. Meal pre booked but had to wait an awfully long time to eat. That said the food was tasty and hot when it arrived. Such a nice day and able to sit outside. Toilets clean and nice atmosphere both inside and outside. Great for children and also very dog friendly with A doggy menu. Will give it another try but food does need to served quicker or told there will be a long wait. 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with just the right mix of buzz and comfort—ideal whether you’re grabbing a pint with mates or enjoying a quiet evening out. The staff? Incredible. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can tell they care about creating a great experience for every guest.

Lovely Sunday roast. Lots of choices of meats. Good variety of veg. Roasties and yorkshire pud as well. All beautifully cooked. Yummy puddings too! I had the berry crumble which had a really good amount of fruit in it.

Simple home cook food. Delicious pie and crumble. Amazing staff. Made us feel very welcome. Special mention to Sarah and Ihsan. They were so kind and helpful towards my friend who has health problems. The pub is cost and comfortable. Will be back

The food was delicious, staff were lovely and super accommodating. As we were a party of 10 I had sent in pre orders, I had made a mistake on one of the meals and didn't realize till the plates were brought out but our server was so nice and corrected it for us right away. Thanks again for helping us celebrate we all had a wonderful time! x

We didn't eat so can't comment on the food. The choice of beer was good and well kept. The bar staff apologised when they had to change a barrel which is more preferable to just serving the dregs. We stopped off for a drink but were so comfortable by the well tended open fire we stayed 4 hours. I think that says all you need to know.

Haven’t had food here yet so can’t rate. But the pub is great. Loads of seating inside and out. Plenty of drink selection. Definitely has that older pub charm. Lots of little rooms and corners to sit in.

The Ivy Marlow Garden is a stylish and airy spot in the heart of Marlow, Buckinghamshire, offering relaxed yet sophisticated all-day dining. It features a long, classic bar serving seasonal British fare and afternoon tea with a contemporary twist. The restaurant seamlessly blends modern flair with traditional charm, creating an atmosphere of refined sophistication. Patrons can indulge in a curated selection of culinary delights while experiencing afternoon tea in a setting that combines the best of both worlds.
The menu struck the perfect balance between fine dining and comfort, offering a rich selection with some much-loved classics alongside more inventive dishes. Every plate we tried was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and genuinely friendly, which made the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. The dining area itself is stunning, filled with lush plants and lovely artwork that create a warm, stylish atmosphere. We were seated at a cosy corner table with large cushions, which was incredibly comfortable.

Reliably good food. Birthday extra dessert was a nice touch. Service is not so reliable, we felt they were prioritising clearing other tables ahead of taking our food order. Our second drinks order apparently got lost between the till and the bar - "it didn't print" - but that's not good enough, the drinks when they finally arrived, after we finished eating - should have been on the house.

Visited The Ivy in Marlow to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The venue is stylish and the food was excellent – beautifully presented and tasted great. However, service was quite slow, likely due to being understaffed. Despite mentioning it was her birthday on arrival, it wasn’t acknowledged again, even though we saw cakes being given to other nearby tables. A bit disappointing considering we spent over £200. Great food, but the experience didn’t quite match the price or the occasion.

The atmosphere is lovely, the staff are super friendly and the restaurant is clean. The food comes out pretty quickly and is well presented.

We visited The Ivy for lunch, we hadn’t booked a table and got seated straight away. The staff are very attentive and polite they served us straight away. The fish and chips were delicious and very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend a visit.

I visited The Ivy Marlow Garden with my sister for her birthday. In the booking notes, I asked for something sweet with a candle to celebrate but unfortunately this was overlooked. The starters (sourdough bread) arrived, but the mains took an hour to come out, which really slowed down the meal. The wait was so long that we actually ran out of things to talk about - and that never happens! We ended up asking for the bill as we had to leave and I had hoped they would still bring the birthday treat but nothing came. The food itself was fine, and the garden seating area is very cute and well decorated. Sadly, the service was slow and disappointing, especially for a special occasion.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at The Ivy Marlow. The setting is absolutely stunning — elegant and relaxed, perfect for a special treat. There was a great selection of cakes and sandwiches, all beautifully presented and very yummy! The location is ideal too, as it’s perfect for a nice walk afterwards to round off the afternoon. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a delicious and relaxing experience in Marlow.

The Butcher’s Tap and Grill is a charming pub nestled in the picturesque town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. This cozy spot has transformed into a vibrant gathering place where meat lovers can indulge in an array of hearty dishes, including succulent steaks, juicy chops, and mouthwatering burgers. With its inviting atmosphere enhanced by a recent revamp that emphasizes the classic pub experience while still showcasing its butcher roots, patrons can enjoy selecting their favorite cuts from the butcher's counter.
Our first time lunching at the Butcher’s Tap & Grill in Marlow and we were impressed! Dropped in for lunch on Sunday. I had the Korean barbecue Chicken burger w/ Parmesan Truffle fries (w/ a pot of smoked Garlic mayo) and my wife ordered the Sunday Roast Pork belly. She is a Sunday Roast connoisseur and said that this was hands down one of the best Roast Pork she’s ever had. The whole Sunday Roast is almost stuffed into a humongous Yorkshire Pudding! Total “show stopper”…and it’s a proper thick cut roll of roast pork belly with amazing crackling (& all trimmings ie- roast potatoes, carrots, creamed cabbage & apple sauce w/ extra gravy!) My chicken burger was pretty impressive too but I’ll admit I was battling a bad case of food envy looking at my wife’s plate! The fries were completely snowed under a blanket of Parmesan shavings and a super rich truffle mayo! Wow! For drinks we had a bottle of Brewdog IPA and Pimms’. Our total bill for 2 was just under £60. We recently moved into the area and are just 10mins drive away…can’t wait to return! Highly recommended. The customer service was lovely too.

I had a disappointing and unfriendly experience at this restaurant. My friend and I both ordered medium-rare Bavette steaks. However, when they were served, we immediately noticed a clear difference in color and doneness between the two steaks. I approached one of the staff members and explained that my steak, which I ordered medium-rare, was clearly undercooked and closer to rare, especially compared to my friend’s, which was properly cooked to medium-rare. Instead of addressing the issue politely, the staff member responded by asking, “Is this your first Bavette steak?” — a comment that felt patronizing and made me feel as if I didn’t know anything about steak. The steak was taken back to the kitchen to be recooked, but unfortunately, the situation only worsened. Part of the steak came back overcooked, while another part remained undercooked. It had clearly been quickly seared on too high a temperature, rather than simply further cooked. I raised my concern again, and I believe the manager came over. Rather than trying to de-escalate the situation, she chose to defend the kitchen by stating that all Bavette steaks are cooked to the same temperature. However, it was clear from the appearance and taste that the two steaks were cooked very differently. Overall, I did not feel comfortable being questioned about my experience with steak, and I was disappointed that the staff focused more on defending themselves than on resolving the issue professionally. I feel that this experience was not typical of the one which they wish to give.

Lunchtime date and The Mrs loves a burger 😂 only disappointment for her was the skin on fries, so luckily i ate them! Couldn't complain with the burgers we had (classic & special) & staff were attentive. Reasonably cool inside even though it was 30+ degrees outside. Layout is clever, especially the old bar being kept/showing certain meats/steaks etc. One simple advice to people, if you don't like meat, don't go, its not for you! 😂 Thanks guys! 👏👏
Aaron B — Google review
We came here for lunch on our way heading west. We enjoy Tom Kerridges shows and thought we try out on of his restaurants. The Michelin Pub in this town isn't dog-friendly and since we traveled with our English Bulldog we chose this place where she was welcome. Meat is the main thing on the menu here and they got a good selection. Fast food, Burgers, but also many nice meat cuts displayed on the butchers counter called "Meat Locker". Ordered a Scotch Egg for starters and for the mains the Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger and the Iberico Secreto pork steak. Some truffle and parmesan fries on the side and some blood sausage. Scotch Egg was served cold, which is ok. But for the price it was a very small serving. The Burger was of good quality, nicely grilled. Juicy, good flavours, loved the blue cheese. Fries were tasty as well. Blood sausage was solid. The Iberico steak was nicely prepared, medium as ordered. But compared to some Iberico pork we've had in Northern Spain it did fall a bit short. Setting in the restaurant is nice and welcoming, a bit on the louder side. Service was very friendly and attentive. The prices are a bit on the higher end, but the quality was there, so we've felt it's fair priced.

We enjoyed an incredible Treacle Cured T-bone here in July, our third visit, and we can't recommend this place enough. The steak was perfectly cooked and is complimented by delicious sides every time. If you can get the treacly, malty, Guinnessy sauce, do! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Its better quality and value then any of the sampled Grills in London, honestly its one of the best steaks we've ever had. Driving out for a walk and a meal here will be a favorite treat for years to come.

A great gastro pub which focuses on meat in its many forms. A carnivore’s dream of a menu with many variations of pub favourites. Truffles fries are worth checking out Friendly staff and draft Guinness.
Charles P — Google review
We have never been here before but were highly recommended to try it. It’s my step Son’s 26th birthday today, so let’s give it a go Oh my days the starters were great, the medium rare steak was cooked beyond to perfection. What a superb place, will be back
Natalie G — Google review
Loud music, hot (no AC) , messy burger - very far from a relaxing lunch. More like eating in a club. Burger meat was nice. Sauce wasn't great and they had to wrap it all up in foil because it was spilling out all over the place, making it awkward to eat. Shut off the pumping music so people can hear themselves speak, install some AC and try to make a burger that doesn't need a spoon to scoop up everything that's spilled out maybe? Burger is meat, bun, sauce and gherkins. Nothing more.

Their shop features a changing stock based on the season, offering bottles, barrels, and kegs of their IPA, blonde and red beers along with seasonal brews. The taproom provides a spacious area for enjoying their traditional and delicious ale at reasonable prices.
Awsome vibes and a real pleasure to experience, the staff are so passionate about the range of beers and are super friendly, they offer a membership which offers a 10% saving and also a tour of the brewery which I will 100% be coming back to enjoy! Stumbled across the range of beers as getting married next year and can order by the barrel, very well priced, reccomend visiting to try the selection and the shop has so much to choose from. They also offer a drive through service which is so unique but worth while if in the area!

Rebellion have made reliably great beer for ages, but they take it to another level with customer experience. Tap room is great with friendly staff, loads of beers as you would expect and at very reasonable prices. They deliver beer direct to your home !, including larger kegs and tap systems, so brilliant for parties. The shop is excellent too, selling bottled beers, fresh beer in many sizes of container, locally produced snacks and merch. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

We ordered a number of barrels and a lager keg with pump for a large private event at a Village Hall, as well as wines and 200x wine and pint glasses. Big thank you to Connor for being able to accommodate a delivery time to coincide with when we had access to the Village Hall on the Saturday. The delivery driver was really excellent - took great care and time to carry everything in and place it where it was needed. He also took time to make sure everything worked as it should, and checked we were happy with everything before he left. Great service.

Had their beers before, and liked them. Even better here because they've only travelled short distance across the premises. Staff friendly and very helpful. None of the "I only work here" vibe you can get in some places. Staff seemed only too willing to help. Carrying purchases from the shop to the car for my friends was offered, and done so, without even asking. Brilliant! Shop was pleasure to browse. Cracking sage and onion Scotch egg. Will definitely be back. Thanks all.

If you're looking to indulge in authentic Italian flavors while exploring Marlow, Satollo is a must-visit destination. This charming cafe and wine bar offers a delightful array of fresh Italian dishes, including gourmet ciabattas, focaccias, vibrant salads, and savory arancini. The inviting atmosphere is enhanced by the rustic decor featuring wooden accents and hanging hams that transport you straight to Italy.
We stopped in for lunch by a recommendation of a local friend. We loved it. Very cool vibe with fantastic food and wine. The service was very friendly and warm. We split the cheese and meat charcuterie board (with a couple of glasses of wine each) and it was more than enough for lunch. Highly recommend this place, situated in a very cool foodie town.

A little bit of Italy in Marlow! I have been a customer of Satollo for many years....most definitely the best coffee in Marlow, Henley - everywhere in fact! The cafe interior is rustic and has a fabulous vibe and the outdoor seating in Summer or Autumn with the canopy and heaters make for a cosy place to sit. The cafe may be small, however, the food they serve is plentiful and delicious from Pesto Bruschetta (my favourite) Parmigiana, cheese/meat boards served beautifully and often can not be finished so you go home with a box! and another favourite, Grigliato sandwich or salad....yum! The staff are very polite and friendly and the new Manageress, Karolina is quick, efficient and able to "read" the room resulting in the service she and her staff give to be first class. It says it all when the young students come back to work there year after year! They remember your name and your coffee choice (which I love) and even ask after my elderly mother who visits now and again. The fresh homemade cakes and pastries are amazing....chocolate croissant being my grandchildren's favourite and the lemon cannoli is a must! Whether it is lunch/coffee with friends or a peaceful half hour on your own sipping a lovely cup of coffee or glass of wine, I would definitely recommend a visit to Satollo. Enjoy!

Had such a lovely morning tea here, the service was first class and waitress was very friendly. They have seating inside and a large covered outside area. There's a good selection of cakes which are really tasty and home baked. It was quite busy and a Saturday morning but food and beverages still came quickly.

I have been coming to Satollo since they first opened over 10 years ago, bringing an unexpected yet authentic slice of Italy to Marlow town centre. They serve the best coffee in the area and feature a great selection of Italian wines. Situated in a pretty courtyard off the main high street it's the perfect spot to share drinks & food with friends whilst watching the world go by and listening to fabulous Italian music. If you want a place at the weekend you'd better make sure you get there early! Buonissimo!

Absolutely delicious... I ordered to take away chocolate and almond croissants, cinnamon buns and a hot chocolate. The kids were very excited when I told them what I was bringing home for them. They were very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The shop was small but provided ample seating. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was steadily busy, which is always a good sign. Such treats are good for once in a while as they are costly but that was my only picking point. Will happy visit here again, next time I have to travel for work.

A wonderful oasis of calm and friendliness as well as delicious cakes! I was lucky enough to be served by the fabulous Lucy and equally fabulous Richard a few weeks ago (apologies for the delay of this review). They served me the most delicious dark hot chocolate and chocolate chip and cherry scone - yum! Both Lucy and Richard made me feel like one of the family, while serving me we discussed everything from cats to the mischievous acts of Red Kites! I cannot recommend Gail's highly and especially their staff with the perfect blend of excellent professional and interpersonal skills! I am looking forward to returning very soon and I hope that this review will be passed on to Richard and Lucy too :-) xx

GAIL’s Bakery in Marlow turned out to be the perfect place for a restorative pause during our day. Nestled right in the charming high street, the bakery has a welcoming atmosphere that immediately draws you in. The décor is light and modern yet cosy, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive, which made our visit feel relaxed and unhurried. We stopped in for tea and a selection of buns and pastries, and every bite lived up to expectations. The quality of GAIL’s baking really shines through – the pastries were flaky, buttery, and freshly made, while the buns struck the right balance of softness and flavour. Accompanied by a proper pot of tea, it made for a delightful mid-morning indulgence. What impressed us most was not only the variety on offer, but also the sense of consistency. It’s clear that the bakery maintains a high standard across everything they serve, whether it’s a simple scone or a more elaborate slice. The counter display was both tempting and inspiring – the sort of place where you feel spoiled for choice. The seating was comfortable, with enough space to enjoy a conversation without the background noise becoming overwhelming. It proved to be an excellent spot to recharge before heading out for a countryside walk. By the time we left, we felt refreshed and energised, which is exactly what we were hoping for. All in all, GAIL’s Bakery Marlow is more than just a quick stop for food – it’s a pleasant experience in itself. If you find yourself in Marlow and need a place to enjoy good tea, outstanding pastries, and a bit of calm before continuing your day, this bakery is absolutely worth visiting.

Really great experience.... Loved the food. I never knew I would like boiled baby potatoes like I did. Either I was very, very hungry or the food was just so very good! I am sure it is the latter as my wife confirmed her burger and sweet potato chips were the bomb too! Never knew we would find such a great meal in a place that was totally unknown to us until just a few weeks ago when we were invited to a birthday party in Marlow. Really highly recommend this pub/restaurant.

Nice pub serving decent bar food, but it was the kind that looked better than it tasted. My vegetarian dish completely lacked flavour. As ever the pate came with a tiny amount of bread so we paid for more to be able to eat the pate. Not quite hitting the spot for me, but very grateful that they're dog friendly!

I just wanted to say thank you for such an amazing meal and experience. It was night and day compared to our first visit and really couldn't believe it was the same place. The food was exceptional, however the biggest praise is reserved for Becky. She was in another league. She is a real credit to The Chequers, she went out of her way to make us feel welcome and was extremely attentive, plus her rapport was spot on. Please pass on our thanks to her. Since we visited, based on our experience and recommendation, my friend's parents visited the following Monday for lunch and loved it as much as we did. We will definitely be back and thank you once again.

The Little Green Boat Company in Marlow offers the freedom to explore the Thames at your own pace. You can hire rowboats or motorboats by the hour, or opt for a full-day rental. Life jackets are provided, and the staff gives thorough explanations about operating the boats. Customers have enjoyed peaceful experiences on the Thames, admiring magnificent properties and moored boats.
🌟My review : I visited this place with my family and it was a wonderful experience! The place is beautiful, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Before getting on the boat, they clearly explained all the safety instructions, which made us feel very comfortable. We went on a one-hour boat trip along the river — it was very enjoyable and relaxing. The views on both sides of the river were stunning and truly caught our attention. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and peaceful experiences. I would definitely visit again!

We had a fantastic experience with The Little Green Boat Company in Marlow! The team was so friendly and explained everything clearly, making it super easy even for beginners. The boat was clean, easy to use, and the ride along the Thames was just beautiful. Highly recommended for a relaxing and fun day out on the river!
Manu S — Google review
I visited the location and saw that a boat had just left in front of me. A staff member (lady) then approached me, speaking in an irritating British accent, and stated that it was the last boat due to the weather. Although the weather was only lightly rainy and had already cleared up — in fact, it was beautiful and perfectly fine — I didn’t argue, thinking they might have weather-related information I wasn’t aware of. I went for a walk along the river for about half an hour and then came back. By that time, I found all the boats ready to depart, all the staff present, and one of the boats had already left — under bright sunshine. It was around 4:00 p.m., so I assumed they had resumed operations. I went to ask again if we could rent a boat, but she refused and said they had closed for the day. The children with me remarked that it felt like racism. I initially dismissed it, thinking there might be other reasons. But after reading several reviews that also mentioned racism, and considering we had a woman in our group wearing a hijab, I became convinced. This place should be boycotted by all respectable people. There are many other boat rental options in the area, with newer and cleaner boats.

Nice little boat hire place not far from Marlow high street. Do motorboat hire which is usually pre booked and row boat hire which is what we did. It was reasonably priced and they take a deposit for when you return the boat. This gets transferred back to you a couple days later.
Andrew B — Google review
This is slick and well organised operation. We arrived and after going through safety procedures, opted to go towards Henley. The time form arriving to setting off was just ten minutes and that with a rumbunctious 2 year old boy who needed safety jacketing and loading into the boat. The boat was a good size for the 6 of us and being electric was silent and easy to drive. The journey to Henley is truly spectacular and full of historic interest. The 12th century Church of Bisham is spectacular and it is easy to imagine the Danes camping along the fields along by Danesfield in the winter of 878. Hurley of course is another village listed in the Domesday book and today has some of the best riverside “beaches” in the area - excellent for our picnic. Overall a great afternoon, thanks to the Little Green Boat company.

Lovely experience out on the river, great crew running the boats (especially Zach) and love the refurbed electric boats - so much quieter and no fumes! A great afternoon experience and I highly recommend this for families and groups of friends

Omg, I have ever seen such a beautiful building before, I was stunned by it. It was just so gorgeous! Situated in a sports complex, so you wouldn't know it was there, in fact, a very strange place to have a Abbey. However when my eyes were drawn to The Abbey, I couldnt take my eyes off.. it was like a building from a different country. A fantastic place for a beautiful wedding, so many photo opportunities here for a bride and groom. I love this building❤ I'd come back here to just relax and take in the scenery.

The vibrant and attentive staff provide excellent service, helping patrons navigate the wide variety of delicious dishes on offer. The menu features traditional Thai staples with an emphasis on seafood, including tapas-style options perfect for sharing or for those with smaller appetites.
Honestly the absolute best Thai gaff going 🤤 I've been here a few times and held off reviewing - to get an idea of consistency - and there is no doubt in my mind that that this 100% needs to head up North. Superb food and service, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 🙏

Group of 5 of us went to celebrate our daughters Birthday. She was the only one that had been before. The food was amazing! Even the prawn crackers were the best we’ve ever tasted. I had the salt and pepper chilli mushrooms to start and the chilli and basil stir fry with slow cooked beef as my main course. We can’t recommend the Giggling Squid highly enough. The staff were great too - so were the cocktails! Will definitely be coming again soon.

Loved our meal at Giggling Squid Marlow! The food was delicious and full of flavour, and the staff were all lovely, especially Am, who was friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere and amazing Thai dishes, my boy had the Massaman curry and I had the honey duck and chicken pad thai. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu.

Absolutely love Giggling Squid in Marlow! The food is always fresh and full of flavour – the Green Thai Curry (both veg and chicken) is a personal favourite. The staff, all ladies, are super friendly, attentive, and make the whole dining experience feel special. Great variety of drinks and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed meal out. Our first time at Giggling Squid in Marlow. Lunch for two and our total bill was about £77. We ordered the chilly & salt squid, duck spring rolls, Tom Yum fried rice, Chicken & Prawn pad Thai and the Drunken Ribs. I also ordered a medium glass of South African white wine. The squid is excellent.

Absolutely stunning food. Could not fault a thing. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Cocktails were fantastic. Gutted we live in Kent and only visiting, but we will be back again for some more excellent dining. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed! As mentioned further down, I have allergies. The lovely manager took my order and ensured that everything I ordered was safe to eat. I felt totally at ease eating here with my allergies. Thank you!

Fantastic food at a great price. I had the meal for one and these is plenty of choice. It came fast and was delicious
TimberTunes A — Google review
While the food was very good and service excellent, it just felt overpriced at a whopping £160 for just a simple 2 course meal for 4 people and 4 drinks (3 soft drinks + 1 med house wine). The Thai green curry's were also full of "stuff" but not a huge amount of chicken. You felt a bit "cheated" when it's costing nearly £20 for a medium size bowel of curry.

An absolutely delightful restaurant with amazing food, brilliant, friendly service and really wonderful atmosphere. I especially loved the fact that you have a booking for the whole evening, ie no waiters eyeing you to vacate the table after x amount of time so that the next round of people can come in. Thus, you can take your time to enjoy your meal, spend quality time with your partner, family or friends etc. We had the 9 course selection and every dish was exquisite. They also had a very good wine selection. Being a high end establishment it's not cheap, but it's also not exorbitantly expensive either. For what you are getting, it is really great value for superb quality. I highly recommend The Vanilla Pod and will definitely come again.
Andries E — Google review
We had the valentines day 9 course meal as a couple and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend eating here as the food is quite exceptional. The meals were delicious and if you're not used to eating this style of food, smaller dishes, I would recommend eating a larger lunch beforehand. The purees and vegetables were cooked exceptionally well and were just amazing, I would like to have their sweet potato puree on demand if possible. As you're paying a premium price I would expect the service from the staff to be better. In explaining a meal one lady forgot what one item was and said "OK.... whatever" before leaving.

A well executed 7 course meal experience, highly recommended, great service and exceptional food. A really warm welcome and staff; attentive front of house from time of arrival to leaving, always checking on our food experience and satisfaction. Great portions so you might want to take it slow. Would highly recommend. My only 1 comment would be that the window table we occupied is also opposite the chefs kitchen door so we watched repeated comings and goings, in and out, but otherwise fantastic.

Megan's at Liston Court Restaurant in Marlow offers a delightful Mediterranean dining experience. Customers can enjoy a variety of appetizers, including Halloumi, Calamari, and Lamb Harissa Hummus. The main courses feature options like Plant Based Lamb Kebab and Lamb Open Kebab, while the kids can indulge in pancakes and flatbread pizza. The staff is friendly and attentive, although the service may be slightly slow as they settle into their new roles.
Loved our latest visit to Megan’s! We’ve been several times before for lunch but tried brunch today and it was lovely! We had the Turkish eggs with an added sausage and it was delicious and super filling! Great service from Mike who was also super engaging and helpful, similar to the lovely member of staff who originally seated us. Keep up the good work and we’ll be back soon.

What an amazing find on our brunch trip to Marlow! Staff were all just lovely - so friendly and helpful, food was amazing- we had the SHAKSHOUKA (the Shakshorizo, with chorizo) an impressively-good coffee and an amazing Orange & Almond cake. We will definitely be coming back!

It’s a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant offering Turkish dishes. The place is busy in weekdays for dinner. Plenty of seating arrangements there. If weather permits, can sit outside and sip hot drinks. We ordered chicken and lamb dish. Kids menu is good. I felt bit let down as the chicken kebab or chicken shish were not separately labelled or available. The lamb dish too was over cooked and not grilled. I would prefer grilled chicken and lamb options like Kababs or shish; truly representing Mediterranean cuisine. The dips and flat bread dish were good. It’s rated high but does have plenty of room to upscale its menu and dishes. French fries were absolutely amazing. One of the best. Crisp and hot. Not at all soggy. Definitely order as add on if available.

Initially I thought I am stepping into an interesting restaurant. It was very inviting with all the fleshy interior design. To my horror they took us at the back, where the tables almost touch each other , no privacy to talk. I couldn’t understand why they showed customers at the back. The service was terrible and really rude. Please can we give training to the girls how to work in hospitality?? The food was all right, but so small and overpriced. Marlow is quite classy, this was a totally bad experience

Interesting addition and hidden gem to the town offering Middle Eastern style food. Stylishly decorated inside and comfortable split between different rooms with some outside seating. Extensive menu also offer breakfasts. Worth a visit.

Lovely dinner at Megan’s Marlow. The Open Posh Lamb Doner was beautifully presented: tender, flavourful, and layered with vibrant toppings on flatbread😋 The tomato side salad was fresh and zesty, and the Sauvignon Blanc paired perfectly - big thanks to Mark for the suggestions and friendly service :) The cosy, fairy-lit setting made it feel warm and relaxed even on a rainy evening☺️ Would definitely return for another quiet, comforting evening meal💯

We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday at the Old Brewery a few weeks ago and had a great night! There were 22 of us and we were all met with a warm welcome and had a reserved area where we could all be together.

Lovely terrace for a sunny day and nice atmosphere overall, but that is pretty much it. Unfortunately far from meeting expectations. Food was extremely salty - the fish was barely enjoyable, service was extremely slow on the terrace (when restaurant was pretty quiet): we had to stand up and go ask/grab them 3 times. Finally, we had mentioned it was one of us’ birthday, nothing was done, quite disappointing.
Noémie B — Google review
We had a lovely meal and it is always interesting with lovely options on the menu. The service is so fantastic every time - a real credit to the staff. My only negative feedback is our dish was only just warm and I think the plate should be hot and a meal should come up hot to start with. Normally I would send it back but we ordered the fantastic venison wellington and I didn’t want to wait another 30 mins for this particular course

Pretty, mostly quiet, riverside area with plenty of water side benches and room for kids to play. Lots of dog walkers around with dogs off leash which can sometimes make picnics tricky if the dogs sniff out your food! I rarely see dog mess. Toilets there are not generally in use - they are open at weekends and bank holidays only 8-8pm between 1st April and 30th September and between 8-4pm at weekends at other times of the year. You can access the Thames Path to Bourne End from here and it's well worth making that trip - especially during dragonfly season.

After buying a new property, Hayden’s consultancy was just what we needed. Tracey's creative eye and understanding of interior space and colour is amazing! Tracey really understood what we liked and chose art that we all love. It really has transformed our new living space. Highly recommend for that personalised touch.

A cornucopia of interesting work! Melanie Goemans delicate work is a particular favourite.

This is a wonderful gallery, I bought two pieces of stunning work from a couple of talented artists and wish I could have bought more. Beautiful affordable art, and a really quality welcome addition to the local gallery scene.

31Leighton Fine Art Ltd

Over the years, Leighton Fine Art Ltd has consistently provided exceptional service and high-quality artwork. Their collection offers a remarkable range of art at affordable prices in an international market. The only challenge is finding enough wall space to display their irresistible pieces, even in a spacious Georgian townhouse. Leighton Fine Art Ltd can be trusted as they are known for their reliability and professionalism both offline and online.
Over the now many years that I have dealt with Leighton Fine Arts and the dozens of paintings I have bought from Nick, both for my own home and that of my clients, I have never been disappointed nor could I fault the impeccable service this dealer provides. I am constantly amazed at the superb quality of art they offer at the most reasonable of prices in an international market. My only problem is finding enough wall space to hang them even in a large four storey Georgian town house such as is my own situation! Always room for just one more.....irresistable as his collection is. Totally trustworthy, a gentleman and a scholar, rare indeed these days and even more so, on line.

Wonderful experience with Leighton Fine Art! They have an amazing collection of paintings for sale and go the extra mile to satisfy the customer. Great communication when needed. Paintings are well packaged and shipping is prompt. This level of professionalism is rarely seen in any industry. Will definitely buy from them again.

I've had the pleasure of acquiring four magnificent artworks from Leighton, and their excellence shines consistently. Their knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail are unmatched. Each piece I've purchased is a testament to their commitment to excellence. I eagerly anticipate future acquisitions from them and confidently award them a 5-star rating.

I have bought many times from Leighton Fine Art, and I have never been disappointed with service, packaging/shipping and the pieces themselves. Nick is always a pleasure working with, he is very kind, professional and understanding. They have a wide range of works for any price range and/or knowledge of the arts and its history. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND purchasing from this gallery.

I purchased a very special painting off Nick at Leighton Fine Art and he was an absolute pleasure to do buisness with. His collection of artworks is wonderful and I will definitely be adding to my collection with pieces from Leighton Fine Art in the future. Thank you Nick.

Bought online with some reservations however very reassured by follow-up commitment. No need for my concern since images were truly representative of the actual painting. Friendly service. Would definitely buy from Leighton Fine Art again.

I would like to this opportunity to thank the people at Leighton Fine Arts. I have been a major buyer (over 50 pieces of fine art) from them over many years. I’ve received nothing but the best service from them and would not consider buying art from anybody else. They’ve been easy to work with and I’ve always Honest and trustworthy. Simply the best and easiest way to invest/ buy fine art.
