Ski resort
Rosshütte in Seefeld offers a variety of dining options, including large self-service restaurants at the base and mountain stations, as well as smaller huts throughout the ski resort. It's a must-visit for its easy access to the mountains and breathtaking views year-round. The restaurant provides indoor and outdoor seating with a panoramic area during winter. Additionally, there's a spacious kids' playground to keep little ones entertained.
Such a wonderful experience at a height. Not only does one feel refreshed but also makes feel calm and energised. Clean air, great restaurant (amazing cold coffees ), clean washrooms, very big park. It can be made into a whole day activity. Loads of people walk it up too. We however took the train and got here. Must try if in the region.
Ann J — Google review
Very pleasant funicular ride to the middle station then cable car to the top station where there were fantastic views of the area. Had snowed when we went up so it was difficult to walk up to the summit, but you could still go a short way up. The restaurant at the midway point.was open, hot and sunny! Great place to stop for lunch, or just a cold beer!
Gary H — Google review
It was a great experience in Rosshütte to enjoy the amazing landscape on Seefeld. We spent a wonderful time here. The tickets prices are a bit high compared with other activities nearby. There was a restaurant and was good.
Seraj A — Google review
Lots of people but well worth it. Kids will love it. Ride up and walk down. It's like another world. Excellent food at the cafe too. Take the cable car as well as the train.
Rob K — Google review
Great facilities here. Amazing views from the top. Good cafe with wide variety of food and drinks. Very helpful staff on the ticket kiosk, driving the finiculaire and in the cafe.
Sally A — Google review
The kaiserschmarrn portion is huge and looks delicious when served. However, the taste is really mediocre. It was wayy too sweet and the pancake was very doughy and has a flour-like after taste. The only saving grace was the fresh strawberries and apfelmus that came on the side We also tried the bratwurst mit sauerkraut und kartoffeln. Die kartoffeln were tough (not even soft) and the bratwurst was mediocre
Jolene P — Google review
Beautiful place to visit when you are near Seefeld. Middle station, that could be used as starting point for hiking further up to the mountain. It could be reached by walking (it takes 2h) or using funicural railway (7 minutes).
Spaso L — Google review
The Rosshütte is a huge must when visiting Seefeld. It is the easier way to get up the mountains and experience this fantastic view from above. Each season offers a different experience. During the winter here will be snow even during years where snow was scarce. The restaurant has seating inside and outside during summer, and during winter they have a beautiful panoramic area available. There’s a massive kids playground with plenty of things to keep them busy. The restaurant has great service and they princes are competitive.

Bodies of Water
Kaltwassersee, located in Seefeld/Tyrol, is a fascinating man-made lake designed to serve as a water reservoir for producing artificial snow. Despite Austria's natural cold climate and abundant snowfall, the lake plays a crucial role in ensuring consistent snow coverage for the ski sites in the region. Visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery and amenities such as sun beds, lounge sets, and a music bar.
A beautiful lake. It requires a 50 minute hike with anascent of 344 meters. The parking cost is 5€
Ahmad A — Google review
The hike up was steep but beautiful, the lake is actually a reservoir and it’s very small but the views are spectacular. I was just caught off guard with how small the lake was and that it was man made. It took us about an hour to get to the top

Seefelder Joch is a breathtaking destination that promises stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. To reach this picturesque spot, visitors can take a funicular and cable car from Rosshutte, making it an accessible adventure for all. While some may opt to hike up, which can be time-consuming, the journey down offers a delightful experience as you stroll past a serene lake nestled halfway down.
From this mountainstation you have great vieuws over the surrounding areas. We enjoyed it very much just sitting and watching. Beware of the curious birds.
Olaf H — Google review
Would recommend getting funicular and cable car up to the top but well worth it. It is possible to walk by would take a while. We got the cable car to the top (with funicular up to the middle station) then walked down, via the beautiful lake halfway down.
Gary H — Google review
A bit steep and hard to climb when there's snow. Beware if you're afraid of heights it can be challenging (specially if it's not summer). Amazing views
Ivan G — Google review
A place with fantastic views. Accessible via cable car from Roßhütte. A short hike to the Seefeld-Spitze is definitely recommended for the awesome views it offers on the way.

When visiting Seefeld in Austria, indulging in the local culinary scene is a must, and Restaurant Südtiroler Stube stands out as a delightful destination. Here, you'll discover an array of European and continental specialties that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. If you’re looking for a hearty meal that’ll leave you both full and impressed, Restaurant Südtiroler Stube is the place to go. We ordered the mixed grill platter for two—and let me tell you, you’d better show up really HUNGRY. The portions are incredibly generous, easily enough to satisfy even the biggest appetites. Every item on the platter was cooked to perfection, with a great balance of flavors and textures. Definitely a must-try if you’re in the area and craving a proper meat feast. Come hungry, leave happy (and very full)!

We were absolutely delighted with the quality of the service and food. The staff is so welcoming that you feel like a regular here. The food is so tasty that you feel like you were preparing the ingredients with the chef. We were here actually twice during our stay in Seefeld. This is the best traditional restaurant in Seefeld. It’s usually packed so making reservation ahead is recommended. Thanks for having us, we will be back!
Ján K — Google review
Food was good, but be aware they will make you feel guilty if you don't give tips, which is not how you want to end a dinner. The waiter was passive aggressive and said with blaming tone "OK so I wasn't nice... " and sarcastically "very generous... ", he then left without saying goodbye with his head down like a child. Very professional and mature!
Théo B — Google review
We went there for dinner together with my husband. The restaurant is beautiful. The service was top-notch, and the quality of the food was incredible. We wanted something typical austrian, so of course we have chosen something from the chef suggestions. We paid very similar prices as what we normally pay in The Netherlands. I would love to go back before we leave back home.
Ann K — Google review
Fabulous dinner. Trout, ribs, deer, and schnitzel all excellent. Service was pleasant. Atmosphere wonderful. Best experience in the past 2 weeks traveling Europe.
Dan B — Google review
Restaurant: We did a short notice reservation and were accepted warmly. Ordered Rosa gebratener Hirschrücken, Käsespätzle and Apfelstrudel and ENJOYED every bite! The service, staff, and food, ALL were perfect. It was our first time trying deer and really liked the taste of the dish. Thank you for creating a nice memory for our last night in Seefeld. 🩷

Very good food, very good and friendly service. We were feeling the love and spent more money here than anywhere else in town.

Ok food but the greeting was unpleasant. We asked if they had a table for 2 and were told "next time make a reservation, my resturaunt is very busy. You can have this table but only because the people left early". Ummm ok, you dont have to seat us, we can just go somewhere else!?

Wildmoosalm Seefeld is a popular spot that can be reached by the free Wildmoos bus. It's a great place to enjoy typical Austrian food and breathtaking views of the Seefelder Spitze. The service is excellent, with friendly waiters who even joke with customers. The apfelstrudel here is highly recommended, and the portions are generous. Although it can get busy, the ambiance is great for a relaxing lunch on the outside patio.
The best Kaiserschmarrn in the area and very nice waiters made it a very pleasant lunch break.

Visited twice very handily placed for the three lakes walk and when visiting the panorama view at Bruntschkopf. Staff were attentive, helpful and very pleasant. Loved the beer mug socks the waiters were wearing.

Great place to have a rest (read beer)! 🍺 staff is very caring and they offer wide choice of food. Also the hot chocolate ☕️ was great! Definitely a place to have a break from cross country skiing ⛷️!
Pavel B — Google review
I was only here for 30 minutes, I wish I could have stayed much longer. This is a great stop in a beautiful area (1338m high) The place was incredibly busy but the beer was good, cold and served quickly and with a side of humour. We didn't eat,but the food looked good particularly the Strudel , and the portions were a good size. Be aware this is a cash only place, also closed on a Monday.
Crazy F — Google review
Delicious, traditional food in a picturesque setting. When we arrived there were daisy cows hanging around with their lovely bells. There’s indoor and outdoor seating and we were greeted with a shot of schnapps before sitting. Interesting decor - being a sticker or other item from your hometown to “contribute” to the overall ambience! Friendly staff.

Take the free Wildmoos bus! In July we went twice. First as part of e-bike tour(Holy Bike) and then another day for long lunch. Arrive early-11:30-for seat along edge of outside patio. Plenty of seating out and in. Service great by Mario and Gogi. Typical Austrian food. Schnitzel good, strudel good. Ambiance great. Yellow bus comes within 3 minute walk. Downhill walk back to Seefeld. Where else can you have lunch in a
David W — Google review
Great place when out hiking. We had loads of beer first, followed by lunch. We had the deer sausage with potatoes, the sausage of the hays, and the fleischkäse with potatoes and fried egg. All of it traditional authentic Austrian cuisine, and wonderfully hearty after hiking up the hill. The service was quirky, smiling and always with a wink ready and a fun comment.
Ib E — Google review
Rustic alpine hut, with cosy, wooden interior and a large outdoor terrace. Easy to reach hiking, biking, and even by car. The service was swift and polite, coffee was decent, and the food very good. Copious plates of sausage with sauerkraut and Kaiserschmarren, and most likely the best roasted potatoes I ever had - truly delicious! We enjoyed it very much here - recommended!

We had a good experience overall, but it’s a bit strange that access to the sauna isn’t included and costs extra. There are actually only two slides; the third is a small one meant for children. You can spend a maximum of about three hours there, as there isn’t much else to do.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Pfarrkirche St. Oswald is a stunning late Gothic church located near the village center of Seefeld, making it one of the most beautiful late Gothic churches in Tyrol. The church is dedicated to Saint Oswald and has been a well-known place of pilgrimage for centuries. Its fame stems from the story of the Hostienwunder, which is depicted in a wonderful tympanum relief along the main portal.
Soooooo good
Kenechukwu E — Google review
The Pfarrkirche St. Oswald in Seefeld in Tirol stands as a remarkable testament to late Gothic architecture and religious heritage in the Tyrolean Alps. Its historical significance, artistic treasures, and serene ambiance make it a must-visit destination for travelers and pilgrims alike. A Church Born of a Miracle The church’s origins are deeply rooted in the legendary “Hostienwunder” (Miracle of the Host) of 1384. According to tradition, a knight named Oswald Milser demanded a larger consecrated host during Mass. Upon receiving it, the host turned blood-red, and both the stone he knelt on and the altar stone sank into the ground. Visitors can still see the handprints in the original altar stone and the spot where the knight sank, preserved beneath a grate near the altar . This event transformed Seefeld into a prominent pilgrimage site, prompting Duke Frederick IV to commission the construction of the current church in 1425, completed in 1474 under Sigismund the Rich . Architectural and Artistic Highlights The church is celebrated as one of Tyrol’s most beautiful late Gothic edifices. Its three-nave hall features a finely detailed net-ribbed vault ceiling adorned with decorative keystones depicting saints and biblical scenes . Noteworthy elements include: • Tympanum Relief: Above the main portal, this relief illustrates the Host Miracle and the martyrdom of St. Oswald . • 15th-Century Frescoes: The interior walls are adorned with frescoes from the 15th century, including scenes from the life of Mary Magdalene and other biblical narratives . • High Altar and Artworks: The high altar showcases late Gothic figures, and the church houses a renowned panel by Jörg Kölderer dating back to 1502 . • Blutskapelle (Chapel of the Holy Blood): Accessible via marble steps near the high altar, this chapel contains a monstrance holding the miraculous host and features rich stucco work from the 18th century . Visitor Experience Located in the heart of Seefeld, the Pfarrkirche St. Oswald offers a tranquil retreat with its serene atmosphere and historical ambiance. Visitors often describe the experience as spiritually uplifting, with the church’s peaceful interior providing a stark contrast to the bustling village outside . The surrounding area, including the Pfarrhügel (parish hill), offers picturesque views, especially enchanting during winter months when the landscape is blanketed in snow. Admission to the church is free, though donations are appreciated. The church also hosts concerts of sacred and classical music on occasion, adding to its cultural significance . Conclusion The Pfarrkirche St. Oswald is more than a historical monument; it is a living testament to faith, art, and community in Seefeld. Whether you’re drawn by its architectural beauty, its storied past, or the peaceful refuge it offers, a visit to this church is a journey through time and spirituality that resonates long after you’ve left.

(Translated by Google) The original church dates back to at least thirteen hundred. In the Middle Ages it was very famous and a pilgrimage destination because it was the supposed place of miraculous events ("the miracle of the host"). It was enlarged in 1470, in neo-Gothic form. About 100 years later, a monastery was added, which today has become a luxury 5-star hotel with an adjoining spa and brewery. Easily recognizable by its tall white pointed bell tower, the church is located in the center of the village and also hosts concerts of sacred and classical music on some occasions.

The square features a fountain, cafes, and a lively atmosphere. It's easily visible from the surrounding walking paths and a great spot for a photo. The interior of the church also impressed me. The high altar, the beautiful floral decorations, the staircase that leads to a small chapel. I felt truly at home.

After a chance encounter with Karoline Neuner last year, we were delighted to meet her again this year. On our last day of vacation, we attended the service this Sunday. We received a fascinating explanation of the miraculous host and were even allowed to view the handprints of the robber knight in the sanctuary. It's always worthwhile to engage in conversation and to be warmly welcomed as Christians here in Austria. Thank you so much and have a blessed Sunday! Discover the Tiroler-Bio-Alpakas on a guided tour that takes you into the fields and meadows for an up-close interaction with these gentle Andean animals. Learn about their unique adaptations for surviving in cold climates like Austria and feel their expensive wool. The owners provide interesting facts, such as integrating alpacas into herds to protect them from wolves.
We loved this experience so much! Owners were lovely, you can tell by the alpacas they have have a special bond and are very well cared for. We were given some interesting info about the alpacas before the the walk. The walk was one of the best experiences ever, walking through the snow with the most beautiful and adorable little furry guys, that are so cute. You can help leaving, feeling you want to have one or 10 of your own. To top it off we had a mug of the best mulled wine in the paddock with the female and young alpacas before leaving. We had such a lovely time- it was well worth the money and would do it again each time we come in the future. Thank you for sharing your alpacas, information and hospitality in a wonderful way.

One of my dreams comes true. 10/10 it’s an incredible experience. 23 minutes walk from the city center or can take a bus. You can feed and touch alpacas or just seat and relax and watch them. No limits of spending time there(only working hours). Here is a small shop where you can buy souvenirs and clothes made from alpacas wool. Check working hours before visit.
Maria I — Google review
Super walk with lovely alpacas. They are very kind animals and the owners (who can speak English) are passionate and you can feel they care a lot about them. Each alpaca has its own personality and their names come from the local folklore. I will need to come back to see them when they are fluffy as they were shaved, and looked very funny with their very slim necks 😁 Nice Peruvian cocktails and mocktails after the walk.
Raphaëlle C — Google review
Our visit to Tiroler Bio Alpakas was absolutely fantastic. The family are extremely welcoming and friendly. We were also happy to learn that they speak English. It is clear from the first moment that they care deeply for the health and wellbeing of the Alpacas. They know all their names and their pecking order. We learnt so much we didn’t know about these beautiful animals. The walk through the forest to the Triendlsäge was really nice and well worth the cost of the visit. It wasn’t at all rushed. The family also have a small gift shop where they sell items made from Alpaca wool, some items are even made from the wool of their own Alpacas. I would absolutely recommend this as a really fun and unique activity in Seefeld. Can’t wait to repeat the next time we visit the village.
Chris R — Google review
It’s a great farm and very well maintained and the alpacas seem very happy too. But 18€ per person is too much in my opinion. They do provide alpaca food and a picnic blanket. We left in 45 mins as my toddler wanted to use the washroom and they didn’t have one, which was very disappointing.
Ann J — Google review
Visiting and feeding the alpacas was such a great experience! I even got to meet a baby alpaca that was just one day old. Absolutely adorable. If you get the chance, I definitely recommend stopping by.

We really enjoyed our walk with the alpacas. We got to feed them as well. The owner is very knowledgeable both about the alpacas and the local Tirolean folklore, from which he names many of his alpacas. I would highly recommend this experience 😁

Ski school
For those seeking the ultimate skiing and snowboarding experience in Seefeld, the Tiroler Skischule Sport Aktiv Seefeld is a top choice. This renowned ski school caters to both beginners and experts, making it a popular destination for unforgettable holidays. With its comprehensive lessons tailored to guests of all ages, including children, this ski school is highly recommended. Private lessons with their skilled coach Johan are highly enjoyable and engaging, as he expertly caters to individual abilities.
Marcus Ryan what an instructor!!! Within 2 lessons he had them down their first blue run. (The children did have a few lessons at a local dry ski slope). Marcus got to work and gave them the confidence to competently navigate the more challenging routes. As a side note - we went to the wrong venue but Aktiv sorted us with a new instructor at the new venue. Very thankful!!

Great ski-school. Very well organized and super friendly teachers. My don't had a lot of fun and improved a lot during his week there. Next winter we will go again for sure.

Highly recommend taking lessons here. We had Carlos for skiing and Marcus for snowboarding. Both were fantastic teachers, really patient, and able to go over the basics thoroughly enough that we felt confident at each stage before progressing. Completely trusted them both to catch me as they went down the hills backwards in front holding my hands (I'm a complete beginner!). Both clearly passionate about their jobs. Couldn't believe how far Marcus took us in just one lesson from barely being able to stand up on a snowboard to attempting to link turns going downhill. Super fun and enjoyable!

I had a really great and fun time! When I started I had a little fear of the steepness of the slopes and was a little unsure. But Marcus did a very good job of taking me through all the good basic techniques. He was very patient and clear and was able to convey it well. And he really helped me get rid of my fear. If you need ski lessons, I definitely recommend it! I enjoyed it and will take everything I learned today into my ski adventure. Thank you so much skischule Sport Aktiv and especially: thank you Marcus! Maybe until another time!

Excellent ski lessons for our 5 year old daughter. She was in a "beginner plus" group, as she had already done some ski lessons on a snow slope (Manchester Chill Factore) in the UK, but this was her first time in a ski resort. We had three days of morning lessons, and could see our daughter progressing in skills and confidence. Special thanks to Anastasia who taught the class. We were also very impressed by other staff who helped children and adults on the ski lifts, and with choosing a good route on the mountain. We saws lots of groups with Skischule Sport Aktiv staff, all of them were excellent. Vielen Dank!

Seekirchl, also known as the Seekirchl chapel, is an iconic and historic church located in Seefeld. This picturesque little church is a favorite among photographers due to its lovely architecture and stunning backdrop of mountains and blue skies. Despite its small size, it is a must-visit when in Seefeld. The church's perfect placement within the town adds to its charm, making it an incredibly photogenic place that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.
Iconic baroque church - it stands alone in a picturesque meadow, making it one of Seefeld’s most photographed landmarks. Its centralized octagonal design and striking onion dome reflect classic Tyrolean baroque architecture. Originally, it was built near the Wildsee lake, but after drainage work, it now sits on dry land, adding to its unique charm.

The Heiligkreuzkirche, also known as Seekirchl, is an absolute gem in Seefeld. Its unique architecture and picturesque setting make it a must-visit for anyone exploring the area. The church stands beautifully against the backdrop of the mountains, creating a truly breathtaking sight. Unfortunately, it is closed from October to May, so be sure to plan your visit accordingly. Even if you can't go inside, the exterior alone is worth seeing, especially for photography lovers. It's a peaceful and iconic spot that captures the charm of Seefeld perfectly.

Ann J — Google review
The Seekirchl, officially known as the Heiligkreuzkirche (Church of the Holy Cross), is one of Seefeld in Tirol’s most iconic landmarks. Its distinctive architecture and rich history make it a must-see for visitors to the region. ⸻ 🕍 Architectural Significance Constructed between 1629 and 1666 under the patronage of Archduke Leopold V, the Seekirchl stands out with its rare octagonal design and central dome—a unique feature in Tyrolean ecclesiastical architecture. The church was designed by Christoph Gumpp the Younger, a prominent court architect from Innsbruck. Its Baroque style is complemented by two high altar paintings (1771) and wall frescoes depicting the legend of the Seefeld Cross (circa 1772), created by Josef Anton Puellacher . ⸻ 🌊 From Lake to Landmark Originally, the Seekirchl was situated on an island in the Kreuzsee, an artificial lake created in the 15th century by Duke Sigismund the Rich. The lake was drained in 1808, leaving the church on dry land. Despite this transformation, the Seekirchl has retained its charm and continues to be a focal point in Seefeld . ⸻ ⛪ Spiritual and Cultural Importance The Seekirchl serves as a votive church dedicated to a miraculous crucifix and has been a significant pilgrimage site alongside the nearby Pfarrkirche St. Oswald. Its serene setting and spiritual ambiance offer a place for reflection and worship . ⸻ 🕒 Visiting Information • Opening Hours: The Seekirchl is open to visitors during the summer months (May to October). A weekly service is held every Friday at 6:00 PM, providing an opportunity to experience the church’s interior. Outside of service times, the church can be admired from the outside . • Location: Möserer Straße, 6100 Seefeld in Tirol, Austria. ⸻ 📸 A Picture-Perfect Spot The Seekirchl’s picturesque setting, with the backdrop of the Tyrolean Alps, makes it a favorite subject for photographers and a symbol of Seefeld. Its unique architecture and historical significance contribute to its status as a cherished landmark in the region . ⸻ Whether you’re interested in architecture, history, or simply seeking a tranquil spot to reflect, the Seekirchl offers a unique glimpse into Seefeld’s rich cultural tapestry.

The Seefelder Jochbahn mountain cable car offers a stunning panorama and an opportunity to embark on a scenic hike amidst snowy landscapes. (Translated by Google) We hiked from the valley up and then took the train down to the middle station, as the path was very steep and strenuous (especially at 28°C in the blazing sun). Unfortunately, as with every gondola, the prices were very expensive. You would only have paid 3 euros more if you had driven all the way to the valley. I don't quite understand that, because it's much further from the middle station down than from the top to the middle station. (Original) Wir sind vom Tal bis nach oben gewandert und dann mit der Bahn bis zur Mittelstation nach unten gefahren, da der Weg sehr steil und anstrengend (vor allem bei 28°C in der prallen Sonne) war.
