Restaurant
La Houle, the charming port of Cancale, is a delightful destination for seafood lovers. With an array of dining options ranging from Michelin-starred restaurants to cozy family-run spots and even quirky tourist traps, there's something for everyone. For a relaxed meal, consider visiting Le Surcouf or Au Pied dCheval—where you can savor fresh oysters straight from the sea. If you're in the mood for something casual, beachside vendor stalls offer delicious seafood plates that are hard to resist.
Amazing place with great service and excellent food We tried the 21euro menu with one entree one main and the dessert and it was just fantastic fresh and home made Very very good value for money and friendly English speaking personnel
Marianna T — Google review
Enjoyed the seafood at La Houle! They have set menu that has appetizer, entree, and desserts for such an affordable price! The service was fantastic and the food as well. Their seafood is a must try in Cancale but make sure to make it before 9pm! A lot of restaurants close around that time.
Glzlmprl — Google review
Had a great time here. Really nice place at the seaside. The staff was really nice, great price for good food. I had the menu, which came with a starter of 6 decently sized oysters, beefsteak for mains and a chocolate mousse with caramel for dessert, all for a great price. The owner is a really nice fella and displays some of his amazing artwork at the location.
Adam M — Google review
We sat here at 1.20pm as there were a couple of tables free, after 6 or 7 minutes the waitress came to us ( she had seen us from the start) and told us the kitchen had shut. All the food blackboards were still out, we ordered two drinks anyway but after another 6 or 7 minutes without getting our drinks we left. There were still people reading the food boards and sitting down. Just rude!
Gasgas — Google review
Six of recently had a lovely lunch here away from the crowds closer to the harbour. I thought the menu was reasonably priced and offered several set menus. Our bill was €114 which included 2 menu enfants, 2 set menus and 2 orders of moules frites, oysters plus drinks. Great service! Definitely recommended!

Oyster supplier
La Ferme Marine de Cancale offers an immersive experience in oyster farming and production. The family-owned operation provides guided tours showcasing the farmers at work, a presentation of their trade, and an exhibition of shells from around the world. Visitors can enjoy tastings of two oysters and explore a diverse range of local souvenirs at the on-site shop. The seashell museum features an impressive collection from different eras and regions, complemented by a video presentation.
Must visit if you love oysters and want to learn more about how they are grown. Very informative tour. Make sure to check the time slots of the tours in the relevant language in advance. The ticket includes a tasting of 2 oysters. A nice little shop with a wide range of local souvenirs from soap to caramel, from jewelry to kitchen towels. While waiting for your tour it is well worth a visit to a seashell museum. Very impressive collection from all over the world and all over the times 👍🏻

Dear owner Thank you for getting in touch with me. My writing skill in French is not good, therefore let me write my comment in English. And I hope my feedback may be helpful for you. The reason I rated 1 star is because we had very uncomfortable interaction with one of your team. We enter your parking with our car after 18:00 for seeking infomation about next days activities. While I was parking the lady came and telling us that "this is private property and you can not park here"... She was very agressive and all my family included my 10 years old son felt it was not comfortable at all... It is your private property which is true, But I thought it was open for clients. Anyway she might be stressed after long day, however I dont think we diserve to have such treatment. Good luck with your business!

Beach
Plage Verger is a picturesque beach located just outside the city center, overlooked by a charming neo-Gothic chapel dating back to the 19th century. The beach offers fine sand and clear water, making it perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and building sandcastles. Visitors can also explore the area's rocky sections during low tide. With free parking available, it's an ideal spot for a peaceful day by the sea.
Not too small or big but perfect size of beach for all. Bring your own garbage when you are leaving to keep the beach nice for everyone.
Rainypraha — Google review
What a beach, being going there for years. Small cafe, some bring lunch and drinks. Parking at the top, as at the bottom limited spaces. Very safe beach for children.
Andy M — Google review
A beautiful beach with poor access and limited parking for cars. The place was overcrowded with vehicles. Still, it's a lovely beach, one of many along the Emerald Coast. It's definitely a plus that you can get there by bus, and there's a permanent lifeguard tower keeping watch over the swimmers.
Tomas O — Google review
Lovely beach with a coastal path as well. Great spot to let dogs have an off lead run before the restriction starts at 10am. Would advise parking in top car park, avoid the drive down through the horrible mini bollards just waiting to rip your tyres to pieces.
Sherri C — Google review
Take the other side of this beach - much more better❣️🔆😎 Keep this secret ... 😜
The R — Google review
Nice sandy beach, lifeguard present, a little overrun. Get there early as the parking lot will turn to French style parking mayhem. There is a little cafe and some decent toilets that clean themselves after every visit. If you are bored on the beach, you can go for a stroll up a little trail to a good viewpoint and an old church.
Jakob J — Google review
Beautiful quiet beach no crowds well not today worth a stop food van is ok and a bonus or bring a picnic free to park too

Sentier des Douaniers Le Port is a magnificent hiking trail that offers beautiful views of the coast and the sea, with lots of vegetation along the way. The path is historically controversial but very pleasant to follow, offering stunning photo opportunities in Cancale. While some parts of the trail can be challenging for strollers and not always well-protected with the beach below, it provides a superb experience for hikers.

Rue du Port is a historic street that has witnessed the evolution of Saint-Meen town. It was once lined with houses along the old Vau Baudet, leading down to the port. Hiking Trails
Pointe du Grouin is a must-see natural area with stunning views of Ile des Landes, Pierre-de-Herpin lighthouse, Iles Chausey, and Granville on the Normandy coast. On clear days, you can even see Mont Saint-Michel in the distance. The area has free parking but be cautious with children due to sheer drops. Despite ongoing construction to accommodate visitors, it offers beautiful wildflowers and a spectacular sunset view over the small surrounding islands.
Spectacular scenery -from the point you can enjoy far reaching views of the Île des Landes a long barren outcrop (now a bird sanctuary), Pierre-de-Herpin lighthouse, the Îles Chausey, Granville on the Normandy coast, and, on a clear day, the outline of Mont Saint-Michel some 25km away. There are sheer drops so keep hold of young children and dogs. There is a car park (need to pay) - gets busy but spaces are constantly becoming available. There is also a restaurant near the car park which we did not visit.

(Translated by Google) I discovered a truly captivating place when I visited the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions in Cancale. Housed in the former Saint-Méen church, this museum is a true immersion into the history and soul of the corsair city, far from the beaten track. . The collections are incredibly rich and tell us with great sincerity about life in the past. We discover the daily lives of families, the grueling work of the fishermen who set sail for Newfoundland, the history of oyster farming that made the town famous, as well as traditional headdresses and costumes. . It's not a modern, interactive museum, and that's what makes it so charming. You feel that each object has a story, that it has been preserved with care and passion. It's a poignant visit, a sort of homage paid by the Cancale residents to their ancestors. . I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to understand the true face of Cancale, beyond the port and the restaurants. It's an authentic and deeply human cultural interlude.

Public beach
Plage du Petit Port is a delightful beach nestled in a small bay in the Ille-et-Vilaine region of Bretagne. Accessible via a small road with parking just 80 meters away, it offers a serene atmosphere without being overly crowded. The beach is best for swimming during high tide, as low tide reveals numerous stones near the water's edge.
Super

(Translated by Google) Magnificent little quiet beach surrounded by cliffs and greenery. We relax on the beach and hear the birds singing, it's very pleasant. You can park in a small car park a little higher up Be careful not to get stuck in the sand in certain places.

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful little beach that is always accessible whatever the tide. It is crossed by a small hiking trail that offers a magnificent view of the water.

(Translated by Google) Quiet beach but no lifeguard in summer. Free parking, but be careful, it fills up quickly during busy periods. Bring waterproof shoes when the tide is out, as there are many rocks.

(Translated by Google) A small, discreet cove appreciated for its intimate setting and authentic charm. Nestled among the rocks, it offers a more tranquil space than the larger surrounding beaches. Access is via fairly steep stairs, making it less suitable for people with limited mobility. It's a lovely stopover for those seeking a more private beach area with a beautiful view of the bay.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful little beach, and if you walk a few minutes you will reach a beautiful viewpoint.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful, intimate beach. Be careful though, as there are lots of rocks. (Original) Belle plage, intimiste. Vigilance tout de même, beaucoup de rochers.

Very impressive monument …..
Andranik P — Google review
Nice view for the sea and the town.

(Translated by Google) The monument alone is worth mentioning because the death toll in the world wars was also significant here in tranquil Brittany - it is good if people in today's pacified Central Europe are aware of this fact in all places. A soaring angel and awe-inspiring soldiers adorn the beautiful monument. Otherwise, the view of the port of Cancale is what should draw you up here. There are a few steps you have to climb from the harbor - you shouldn't be able to miss them on the harbor promenade that runs towards the city center. The great view of the harbor and the oyster farm is really nice. Definitely do it! The monument is worth mentioning, especially in Brittany, the prize du sang pendant les wars mondiales a été considérable - it is bon que l'on prenne conscience de ce fait dans tous les endroits de l 'Europe centrale, aujourd'hui pacifiée. An angel ailé and the soldier of a grande élégance ornent the magnifique monument. There are several marches on the hills of the port - this is one thing you chose to walk on the promenade of the port that is opposite the centre-ville. The imprenable view of the port and the elevation of the houses is very magnifique.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful monument with a small free parking lot. You can walk down to the port. Very interesting view of the lower town, the port, the oyster beds and the sea.

(Translated by Google) A pretty viewpoint, overlooking the bay of Cancale, with two small car parks, the spaces of which are very popular. Too bad the staircase in poor condition, to go down to the port, and to the seafront. Could the city make some improvements?

(Translated by Google) Magnificent panorama of the city and the sea. When the conditions are good enough you can see Mont-Saint-Michel on the horizon. Too beautiful. Be aware that the west staircase is steep, but there is a less steep path to the east and car access (without slope) to the north.
